"Good Location"
TravelLovers2, 23 Octobre 2023

The location is perfect for visiting Modena and other areas. We stayed for 3 nights. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast did not have good choices, so we only had it the first morning. Reaching this place is not easy at the moment because the street is blocked right in front of the hotel. There is a large repair going on, that according to taxi drivers, they have no idea when it will be completed. Taxis will drop you off at the end of the block and you have to drag (not roll) your suitcases through a street of cobblestone blocks. They have a thin wooden plank to drag up the suitcase that has a lot of wear and tear, so it did not help. When you get to the hotel you have to go down three steps and then another step to reach the very slow to open elevator. No help from the staff with luggage. The room was clean. The open closet barely had any space and a very dim light. The bathroom is very very small and not very convenient with two levels that are a set up for disaster. The shower is a tight square that makes turning around very hard. It was very hard to find a hotel that we liked in Modena, so we opted for this hotel which was the only choice we could find. It was a bit uncomfortable, but they tried to do the best with what they can offer.

"Super Best Western hotel in Modena"
morocco_traveller, 26 Mai 2023

Great hotel. From the reception to the room cleanliness, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff to the quality of breakfast this hotel was super in every aspect. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. It is located 13 minutes walking from the main train station or a shorter five minute taxi ride (cost 7.50€). Very convenient with lots of eating choices close by.

"Great Location, Good Hotel, Great Service"
heidimprobe, 17 Mai 2023

It is a very convenient Hotel, with parking, in the middle of the old historic city, fabulous location, friendly and very professional staff. We enjoyed it t very much. Great airconditionair! Would recommend it!

"A wonderful experience"
Antoine M, 13 Avril 2023

Staying in this hotel while visiting Modena was just what I needed. Despite some road works at the entrance, the hotel's location is just perfect, especially if you want to visit the city center. The staff was also very kind and welcoming and the decoration is very pretty. Thank you very much!

"Wonderful staff"
bindewaldkonzert, 31 Mars 2023

We had a very good time in Hotel Libertà in Modena, the staff was very nice and helpful, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel is in city center, just around everything you need. Wonderful time!

"Feel like did not want to leave!"
Yamina h, 19 Décembre 2022

Nice hotel at a few steps away from the town center and a few minutes walking distance from Modena Mercato. The hotel is very clean, cute and quiet! The personal extremely friendly, very helpful. For some people the most important thing is the bath room however for me it is the breakfast and on this one I felt like I was in five star Hotel!! The food was so fresh, eggs, cheese, cakes ect Adorable !!!! Feel like did not want to leave! thanks to the Liberta hotel team!

"Location, Location, Location"
carlandmoira, 26 Septembre 2022

This hotel is in a virtually perfect location for the lovely centre of Modena, The Piazza Grande and Cathedral are 2 mins away. It is also a pleasant walk to the station. When we arrived with luggage we took a taxi but on day trips we simply walked to the station. The staff in the hotel were very helpful and pleasant and the hotel was clean. Breakfast was well worth the price. Our room was a little snug but no real problems except for the shower which was very snug, had to be careful not to turn off water as we turned in the shower.. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay in Modena and the hotel was in a perfect location.

"Excellent hotel for your next Modena trip"
mendlerobin, 20 Septembre 2022

Hotel Liberta is a very cozy hotel in perfect location in the heart of Modena at Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini. The rooms are simple but functional and very clean. The staff is top notch, super friendly and very eager. The breakfast buffet is not very special but absolutely sufficient with fresh fruits and a broad variation for all tastes. I regularly stay here for business and I am always glad to come back.

"Great stay"
EN7EDH, 13 Avril 2022

Clean, modern enough rooms. Great service. Excellent location - central in Modena next to several of the main piazzas. Stayed here with another couple and very much enjoyed it. The ease of access to pretty much everything in Modena makes this a winner.

"Great Hotel: lots of Old World Charm"
770nickis, 03 Octobre 2021

Excellent hotel in the very heart of Modena! (Garage for drivers with easy access) Terrific service, breakfast, room, and WIFI! Nice and quiet for great sleep. The staff really professional, nice and friendly! Located between to great walking streets; and friendly plaza with lots of restaurants and gelato!

"Helpful staff, good location, old decor and facilities"
Spankynozbest, 20 Juin 2021

A worn-out hotel in the beautiful city center. Very helpful staff, perfect location but sad decor and facilities. (Although the bed was comfortable.) Can be noisy on weekend nights due to the pedestrian traffic on the street . Needs a thorough renovation. Beware if driving a large car as it is complicated to arrive through narrow medieval streets.

"Superb!"
Carmela V, 24 Septembre 2020

The best of this hotel is their team, specially Mr Franco. Franco was so friendly and helpful. Great location of the hotel, walking distance to the most important historical places. The hotel has elevator and very good AC . Great Restaurants, shops and cafeterias around the hotel! Good continental breakfast If you plan a trip to Modena you must stay in this hotel.

"Centrally Located Hotel"
hdg63, 30 Mars 2020

The Hotel is located in the city center with all the sites in walking distance. Rooms were small but clean. The shower ares was really very small where one even cannot freely move the hands while taking bath. Surely some more space needs to be there in the shower area. Front desk staff is nice, polite and very co-operative. one thing was strange that the taxi can come at the hotel gate but private car to pick you up cannot come. This I found very strange.Breakfast was very basic with all the right stuff.

"Lovely time!"
KatieT580, 24 Janvier 2020

Holiday in September! My friend from school lived in Modena for two years and planned a quick holiday for all of us ladies and the Best Western hotel not only a trusted brand but offered us the best service and price. I have fallen for Modena! Gorgeous and so rich in Italian culture, unlike so many other places I have visited. Must note the area of the hotel is really great its walking distance to the Piazza Roma and so many other things. I was lucky to have my friend as a tour guide of gorgeous Modena, but I absolutely recommend this hotel.

"Absolutely central location"
Ευαγγελία Μ, 12 Décembre 2019

Clean and quiet. Old fashioned. Kind but non-concerning stuff. Safe as it is located next to the Synagogue with 24 hours soldiers - guards. Few steps from all the mainstream shopping brands. An excellent pizzaria and pastry near by.

"great location, very nice staff, but tiny shower"
Steve K, 26 Octobre 2019

This hotel is located close to many downtown tourist sites and both of the Michelin-starred restaurants in Modena. The front desk staff was very nice, helping us unload our car then parking it for us in their garage. (There was also an option for free parking in nearby lots, but the city street are often narrow and I didn't want to have to search for a space.) Our room, on the first floor, was clean and comfortable (once we persuaded them to restart the A/C for the floor- it was an unusually warm day in late October and the system had been switched to heating.) The bath was small, but the shower was REALY tiny- two folding panels attached to tiled walls. Still it was functional. As a BW Rewards member, we were offered free breakfast; it looked good but we slept in and had to be on the road for a drive to Rome, so ...

"Great Location, Helpful Staff, and clean nice room."
briangS8805OB, 16 Septembre 2019

Stayed here for one night, location is perfect for enjoying the core of the city. Access was a bit difficult by car and parking garage is tiny (fits 5 ish cars), but there was room when I arrived so no issue. The room was very nice and clean, with awesome windows looking out over the streets of Modena. The receptionist was extremely nice and willing to take time to explain the city, and give recommendations for place to eat or relax and enjoy.

"Last minute booking was a great choice"
babyletsgetgoing, 05 Septembre 2019

We stayed just 1 night as my husband decided to do a Ferrari drive in near by Maranello. After travelling for 5 weeks we decided to book a family room to enjoy some additional space overnight. Best decision ever. The family room has separate air conditioning units for the main bedroom and the lounge space that doubles as the second bedroom - fold out sofa bed. The space was very large and could be divided by sliding doors and offered 2 areas for laptops, 2 TV's as well as a bar fridge. The decore is regional Italian and the king bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good value for money. 5 Euro, you cant go wrong. We were greated by a lovely lady at reception.Nothing was too much trouble and she happily booked a Balsamico tasting tour for me. I can highly recommend the tasting tour at Acetaia di Giorgio with Giovanna or Marcello. The hotel garage just 3 doors down the lane was very handy for our car. Garage parking was 20 euro - pretty standard for europe for a secure space. The hotel location was perfect and well sign posted to find and was within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, etc We thoroughly enjoyed an authentic local food experience just 3 minutes walk around the corner at Ristorante da Danilo - via Coltellini. We would stay here again.

"Great location and supportive staff"
ralawren, 13 Juillet 2019

We stayed for two nights in July. The hotel is in a great location near the historic area with many walkable locations. The rooms were a little small, but not for Europe, and the shower was extremely small. But the staff were great, the breakfast was very good with esperesso and cappucinos flowing. There is parking available but used the Regional Trains to move between cities. This is a good value, but a little steep for a second person (25-30 Euro for my wife). We would definitely stay here again if we returned.

"Service very good, hotel not so much"
renataneperus, 03 Juillet 2019

This hotel has an amazing location and the service is also very good. The location is REALLY amazing, a very positive point this hotel has going for it, together with the very good service. The location is central, close to all the restaurants, cathedral and other popular locations, including the Mercatto - which, as a tourist, you must visit!! Since the hotel is very central, you might experience some issues when it comes to noise. This was not a big issue for me, personally, and my room faced the street. The staff is extremely friendly without being nosy. The breakfast is absolutely delicious - try their capuccino or latte and you will not be disappointed. And if you feel like having a drink, try the sangria - very very nice! However, there is indeed a smell when you enter, which remains throughout the hotel. It is an old building, plumbing may be dodgy, but, for me, the smell seems to be related to humidity (maybe mould?). Different from other reviews, I have to say not all rooms are well sized, since I happened to stay at a very small one when I visited the hotel in 2018 - and was very disappointed abou the room and the toilet.

"DISAPPOINTMENT IN RECEPTION SERVICE"
piriot, 31 Mai 2019

The location of this hotel is very good. Also the breakfast room service is good and the receptionist who took us in tried her best. We were first offered a room on the top, it had a slope ceiling, and carpets. The shower cube was very tiny. We could have slept there but the air con started leaking. We were eventually offered a new room. My husband changed the staff to the other room as I was shopping. Eventually after the dinner I wished to get back to the old room to check that all my items were taken to the new room. The receptionist was not friendly, he let me do that but demanded me to get the key back as soon as possible. My friend got a wrong key and opened up the room of an other person. She was also offered a wrong passport from the reception. The lifts were very small, so you needed to wait. The walls were so thing that anything could be heard.

"Unchanged since the 1960s"
nepenthean, 27 Mai 2019

I don't know how this hotel can clam to be 3 stars. It barely qualifies for 2 and should really be 1. The room was smelly, musty with what had to be the same carpet, bedspread, drapes and furniture from the 1960s. No CNN on the TV. Super-tiny bathroom. Shower stall was barely 750mm square. Bed was two twins put together and despite everything else was not uncomfortable. Considerably overpriced even if it's in the center of town. This is a 50€/night hotel not 90€

"Ok, could be better."
Zeenat S, 13 Mai 2019

I was in Modena for a conference last week. I picked this hotel for its location. To be honest, that is perhaps the main positive point this hotel has going for it. The location is central, close to all the restaurants, cathedral and other popular locations, including the university. The downsides are that there's a smell when you enter, which remains throughout the hotel, not only in the reception. I guess it boils down to the fact that it is an old building, which makes plumbing dodgy. The rooms are well sized, and the service however, is excellent.

"Great stay in Modena"
Anke en Pieter R, 09 Mai 2019

Good hotel, located near train station 15-20 min walk. Located near centre, 4 min. Bar and breakfast room have a lot of mirrors, really a lot. Friendly staff, helpful. Average breakfast. Good beds, quiet nights. To Francescana 9 minutes walk. On the way to Francescana you can have Riesling wine at Benny's bar at the corner overthere.

"Great location but......."
sparty328, 14 Avril 2019

The best thing about this hotel is it's great central location. It' s the lower of the 3 BW type hotels so don't expect luxury in any form. The rooms are fairly dark, dated and basic. The walls are quite thin and you can hear all movement along the corridors. There's ample storage space and the usual facilities you would expect. Bathroom is clean and functional though it too could benefit with a facelift. There's coffee/tea making facility. and power points by the bed side. Internet was ok for basic browsing but buffered on some occasions when watching films. Breakfast was typical Italian and with excellent assorted coffees. Staff all spoke good English and were friendly and helpful. I wasn't offered any BW Rewards (top tier) member bonus or snack. Because of it's location you are paying a premium for this rather than the standard of accommodation. Fortunately I never had a car but parking was difficult and very expensive.

"Excellent location"
global-traveller48, 21 Janvier 2019

The hotel is in an alleyt midway between Piazza Roma and the Duomo. It as even quieter than usual as there some roadworks, and so cars were elsewhere. Our room was smallish with comfortable beds etc. A safe in the wardrobe and a small flat screen TV, but although It had literally hundreds of channels, we couldn't find one in English. The breakfast was very good. The staff were all helpful and friendly. However, the hotel is showing its age, and is not suitable for wheelchairs etc, as thre are steps to get in, and the lift us very small.

"Clean Hotel in a CCentral Location"
RobertRAH-64, 09 Janvier 2019

Located in the heart of old town, this quaint hotel was clean and comfortable. the staff were all friendly and provided us with a quick overview of the area upon check in. The rooms are very simple but comfortable and clean. the breakfast was nice and the staff there was friendly.

"Simple, clean, ideal location"
erikaisthebest, 05 Janvier 2019

My husband and I stayed here for one night while traveling through Módena. It was in the perfect location in the heart of town. The room was what we expected: small, clean, a little outdated, but reasonably priced for the location. The service was good, too. We didn't eat there, so can't comment on breakfast which was 5 Euros. We drove here and called ahead for directions, because as you may know, driving around Italian towns confuses your GPS. The directions got us on the right path, but thank goodness for all the signs with arrows to the hotel through these tiny city streets! We paid the 20 Euro for parking in the garage which is diagonally across the street. One of the employees parked the car for us. There is an option for off street parking with a pass they give you, but we got there late at night and we believe you still have to pay at the meter for street parking (in the blue lines). Ask before hand.

"Happy Stay"
Nomad26899961344, 12 Décembre 2018

I enjoyed my stay and will visit again. The location was great and hotel stay were excellent and very helpful. It was my first visit to Modena, I am from the US but will tell others how much I enjoyed myself.

"Hotel room"
mottin426594, 05 Septembre 2018

Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and hotel was in a quiet part of town. Easy to get to all shops and restaurants. Very safe neighborhood to walk around and enjoy the night life.will definitely staystay a

"Great location"
marialynnvancouver, 12 Août 2018

The hotel is lovely. Has everything you could possibly want - including parking! and a very friendly helpful staff. The big draw of this hotel is the location. It is absolutely perfect for exploring Modena. You could not beat it. We would definitely stay here again.

"Excellent hotel in the city center"
Claudia I, 08 Août 2018

The hotel is centrally located, close to all the shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. The area is quiet and nice. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning. Breakfast is excellent. Staff (reception, house keeping, breakfast staff) are very polite and helpful. I am glad, I chose this hotel and can highly recommend it.

"Perfect location "
grantfamilydevon, 19 Juillet 2018

To two things that made this hotel perfect: First was the location, in the heart Modena we could walk to everywhere we needed in a matter of minutes. Second the Gentleman at reception (apologies I've forgotten his name) he was incredibly helpful throughout, carrying luggage on arrival and departure, an amazing driver too. The hotel has locked parking across the road (limited though not a problem for those of us who booked ahead) Well as the city is restricted for car users and cameras preventing unregistered use we were informed we couldn't park for long, the ‘Gentleman' graciously unloaded our hire vehicle, reversed with diligence and turned the car 90 degrees in one manoeuvre in to the garage like he was a professional driver, considering the tightness of the road he clearly has many talents besides working on reception!

"Lovely pleasant hotel"
T0d0rE, 14 Juin 2018

Very pleasant hotel. Its location is amazing - in the city center. There are many restaurants and bars nearby. The room at the hotel was clean and cozy. The staff is courteous and approachable. Breakfast is good - on a buffet - nothing special, but good. The only drawback is the shower in the bathroom - very narrow - taking a shower was a challenge.

"Hit all the marks."
nursegregory, 14 Juin 2018

What a nice find. The location is right in the middle of the Old Town. Did not see any other hotels nearby. The room was cosy and quiet. The morning breakfast kept us full till dinner. The staff were some of the friendliest I found it in Italy. The surrounding area is loaded with great restaurant and historical sites. You feel like you're out of the rush that are so common to other Italian towns. I am glad we booked for nights so we could have done more.

"Great location"
susansY7042FR, 28 Mai 2018

Fabulous location just a short walk from every thing you want to see in Modena ,on a quiet street the room was a little old fashioned but good value for money, breakfast was very good and the staff very helpful and friendly.would recommend this hotel to anybody thinking of visiting Modena .

"Superb! Great Hotel Great Staff!"
Peter M, 16 Mai 2018

3 days in Modena and wanted to walk around, so I selected Best Western, Via Blasia.. As right in the center! So arrived in such a small street... Lovely warm welcome, I was 30 minutes before the check in time... No problem sir! 3rd floor nice clean room, with coffee tea facilities... Also shave kit, toothpaste as well as the normal beauty care... Then out for a walk and 1 minute to the center! Receptionist gave me a map, I could walk 1.0 km to my office.. Breakfast buffet is amazing!!! Full and fresh every day and there is an option of fresh espresso, etc. Ladies serving breakfast so happy kind and helpful :-) I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.. Is all you need and more from a hotel with great staff. Grazie millie!!!

"Great location and friendly, helpful staff"
Ems1983, 08 Avril 2018

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The room we had was a little outdated in terms of decor but i actually liked the old fashioned quirkiness. It was a comfortable and clean room with everything you need. Staff couldn't be friendlier and were so helpful. The hotel couldn't be better location wise too and despite being in the centre of things was very quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again if i was back in Modena. The free parking pass was also very useful as we had a hire car.

"FABULOUS LOCATION"
splodgee, 04 Mars 2018

What an unexpected delightful hotel in the Centre of the town . Clean rooms friendly staff and good breakfast to get your day started . Restaurants ,markets and good shopping all within 5 mins walk . Ice cream shop opposite in the square . . Will stay at this hotel for sure if ever in this pretty little town . Jenni , Carol Jason and Elaine Cape Town SA

"Clean, Nice staff, Great location"
Abale, 06 Décembre 2017

I've stayed here for one night. Bed was comfortable. The design was a little outdated and the bathroom was kinda weird. The location is really good and there are restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlors close to the hotel. Very good stay.

"Great stay"
Alrentia V, 20 Novembre 2017

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel and can highly reccomend the hotel. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I could walk everywhere to explore Modena and it was very safe even late at night. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean and neat.

"Business Trip"
MickeyC0970, 06 Novembre 2017

A good business hotel based in the centre of Modena just off the main square. Hotel was really clean, comfortable and in a great location. Worth checking out if you are staying in Modena, as I do on business very frequently.

"A good choice"
ES1211, 08 Octobre 2017

The hotel was very much a part of our enjoyable stay in Modena. I booked a half board deal online but at the time I was unaware that dinner would not be served in the hotel. Whist checking arrangements before leaving home I discovered that the restaurant was 500 metres away. I thought that half board would be convenient as we planned to arrive in Modena at 19.00. As it happened the restaurant was near to the railway station, convenient as we were to arrive by train. The Liberta arranged for us to go straight to the restaurant and to have a car to take us to check in after dinner. That was reassuring as it seemed that everything should go smoothly after all. However our flight was 2 hours, but a quick phone call to the hotel and I was told that it would not be a problem. We had very enjoyable meals both evenings. We were glad when we finally got to the hotel and were able to relax. We felt that the hotel was a good choice. The location was excellent, being only a couple of minutes walk from the Duomo. The buffet breakfast was very enjoyable with a good selection of cakes. Our room was clean and comfortable. My one criticism was that the corridors had tiled floors which made them a bit noisy. However what made the hotel was the care and thoughtfulness of the staff.

"Highland Park is a sister city to Modena."
RickHP, 25 Septembre 2017

I was pleased with the room which was a suite. The room was clean and had a lot of room in both the living room and the bedroom. The free breakfast was better than most. I considered this hotel to be a good value. It is in the middle of the town square and walking distance to most places.

"Lovely Hotel, very central and helpful staff"
gianna1964, 13 Septembre 2017

Located just off a lovely square. The hotel is spotless and very comfortable. The staff very helpful and friendly. Would recommend this hotel if you are interested in going to Lamborghini museum or Enzo ferrari museum.

"Very good for short stays. Very polite staff. Excellent location."
Francisco S, 15 Août 2017

The rooms are comfortable and the WC has space enough for the needs. The area is smaller than the American Style, but enough for a short city stay. The staff is very polite and friendly. The variety of the breakfast is null, but the options are enough to try during three or four days. After that, it is more about the same. Just the cakes vary a little bit. The fruit and 0% fat products should be cared by the hotel. The area is quite and very close to the center. For a short stay, I will choose again this hotel, mainly due to the staff.

"Five lovely nights in Modena"
Giuseppe D, 22 Juin 2017

Ideally located for all the main tourist attractions, bars, restaurants and gelaterie, this small hotel has comfortable rooms which are impeccably clean and (unusually for Italy) has hot drinks making facilities. The air con in the rooms was excellent and proved to be essential as temperatures were in the 30s outside. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the staff were cheerful and obliging. Would happily return.

"Magnifico in Modena"
sundeviljeff92, 12 Juin 2017

This hotel is probably the best place in Modena as far as location, convenience and service. Our room was a little dark and tight but we could unpack all our stuff comfortably for the three nights we were there. The exposed beams on the ceiling added a little charm, as did the wooden shutters that we could open onto a quiet alley. From the front door you are literally steps from the duomo, the palace square, bars, restaurants and shopping. We paid to park our car, which we could've done ourselves cheaper, but having it secured in a garage 50 meters away was more convenient. The breakfast was humble but good. The staff gets five-plus stars, especially Franco, who was helpful, courteous and made us feel like we were at a B&B. You won't find much in the way of flash or glitz, but it won't matter at all. Our only issue was the near non-existent wifi in our room, but it seemed to work fine everywhere else. Definitely the place to be if you want to get the most out of Modena.

"Excellent location, comfortable"
angelinebenoit, 28 Mai 2017

Hotel offers good level of comfort, best possible location and good breakfast. Service is very good and cleaning is perfect. Room 408 was a good size, quiet and sunny. Recommendable. Still at over 100 euros per night some improvements are necessary: the shutters lack fixtures to remain open without banging on a windy day, the shower had insufficient pressure and water didn't evacuate properly. Finally phonic isolation is louzy. Hopefully the management will take these issues seriously as would befit a three stars hotel.

"A convenient, central Modena base"
falads, 14 Mai 2017

One-night stay, en route for Tuscany. Great location, 5 minutes walk to the Duomo, 30 minutes to the Museo Enzo Ferrari. Secure garage car parking; the car park is not very big so make sure you reserve a space in advance. Very helpful staff, comfortable bed, bathroom clean and functional but in need of renovation. Overall, not perfect - but good value especially considering the location of the hotel.

"Best location in Modena"
Jaanus12, 29 Mars 2017

One cannot find a hotel to stay in Modena with better location. Excellent beds, very nice and helpful staff. Few steps from Opera, cathedral, all the best restaurants, shopping streets, central square, Ferrari museum..

"Lovely hotel, great staff"
mkuehn120, 07 Février 2017

This is a lovely little hotel very close to the center of Modena. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are cozy, clean, and well furnished. The breakfast selection was fantastic, a lot of variety and even offered a few treats made in house. I will definitely return and I highly recommend this hotel.

"It is ok"
adnanhamzic, 02 Février 2017

In Modena You can't find 4 or five star hotel. Liberta3 star with good personal is solution for stay one or 2 days. Price is ok and garage is near of hotel. Hotel is in heart od city, and in minutes or two You have caffes or restaurants, or something to see.

"Perfect location"
Stefanie M, 27 Janvier 2017

Lovely little hotel , central for all shops, restaurants etc. Staff very helpful and pleasant . Can be bit noisy at night with people walking by due to proximity of hotel and the main square but not a big issue. Great pizza shop few doors down where we are most days. Would definitely return and recommend

"Perfect location"
Pedro L, 23 Janvier 2017

However, room is very plain and small. Hotel clearly needs refurbishing and being modernized. Staff very friendly and willing to help. I will try the breakfast in few minutes. My first impression is that the place is more like a hostel rather than a hotel. Very old carpet, but overall is clean.

"Amazing service!"
tucsonmom, 19 Octobre 2016

This hotel is in a great location and has wonderful staff. I was not feeling well the day we arrived and the staff was so accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure that I was cared for and okay. They sent up hot tea and treats! Housekeeping was so kind, too. I really appreciated all of their kindness.

"Great location"
JudyZ167, 12 Octobre 2016

We came here with a Zingermans culinary adventure. Most of the trip was in Tuscany, but we had two days in Emilia Romano to see the "birthing" of the Parmigiano Romano and to see how balsamic vinegar is produced, so this hotel was the perfect location, although you need a car to go to those activities. We also had time to walk around and visit this quiet town and sample the local salumerias and shops, all convenient walking distance. The hotel itself was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were well appointed, although I'd be remiss not to mention that they had the smallest shower I've seen on land (on a ship you expect it), couldn't really turn around, but still adequate. I'd definitely return to this hotel.

"Great customer service"

Best Western Liberta, Modena- We arrived at the hotel really late at night traveling from Rome which was a hike to say the least. The hotel could not seem to find my Expedia reservation but was more than accommodating to have a room for us upon arrival and to honor the Expedia rate. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower door was strange especially for the tall and the breakfast was hearty. If in the area, I would certainly stay here again.

"Dont leave car keys!!"
Katie R, 04 Août 2016

Stayed here for 1 night. Close to ferrari museum about 10min walk. Other than that not much else to say. Basic room with a poor shower-at least it worked. Breakfast was good, plenty choice. We parked in the hotel garage and at check in were asked to leave our car key "in case of emergency" we assumed they didnt want us to lose it. On check out we went to get the car and were directed to a garage round the other side - hotel staff had moved our car without asking or consulting us. I think this is absolutely discusting! We thought our car was secure and where we parkedmit but no. It was too late to complain by the time we were leaving but it spoilt the hotel for us.

"Best location"
Jessica N, 31 Mai 2016

Best location in the city. Nice offer regarding parking. (Garage/free parking outside and they take care of city taxe, no registration needed) Top personal with your best intrests in mind. I would really recommend this hotel and I would book it again for my next trip to Modena.

"Location is great for a base, but the room was noisy"
SweetSaturn22, 30 Mai 2016

The location is perfect to explore the town. The receptionist are hit or miss. One lady was super nice when I checked in, one guy was great when I checked out, but when I actually needed help navigating the city, the guy on duty didn't know anything. Breakfast is good - legit coffee made to order, fresh fruit, croissants, eggs, and a selection of meats. The room was small and clean for the most part except the mosquito and bugs I had to kill. The noise on the other hand, I had the worst night of sleep (or lack there of) because I could hear everything from the street, the halls, the lobby, and people walking upstairs.

Dario2788, 16 Mai 2016

Breakfast was very good. The single room was small but clean. However, the walls are very thin, I was on the first floor and I could hear everything from the front desk. Very slow shower drain. Staff not always helpful, I always had to wait if they were talking at the phone. They did not give me any information about breakfast, wifi and check-out until I asked. I also asked for a city map and they did not have one at that time.

"Well located, efficient & friendly"
trainsifpossible, 10 Avril 2016

The hotel is in a quiet square in the centre of town, convenient for the sights (but a taxi-ride away from the train- or bus station). The building seems to have been modernised or refurbished comparatively recently; everything looks thoroughly new and bright. My single room was pleasant enough, with a good wi-fi connection and a spacious shower/toilet. One slight shortcoming was that the door on to the corridor didn't seem to offer much noise protection. The breakfast area was ample ample and the food good (though the proportion of cake to fruit or cereal won't have pleased the nutritionally conscious). The staff were friendly to the point of enthusiastic, and very helpful when advising on catching an early flight at a distant airport. Overall an enjoyable place to stay.

"Very nice hotel, great location and friendly staff"
GiEspoo, 30 Mars 2016

We have spent three nights at this hotel and we have been very happy with our choice, Perfect location, right in Modena's center, near main sights and restaurants. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable. Very good breakfast with lots of room and tables in the breakfast room. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, with no exception. And very good price/quality ratio Highly recommended!

Perfect location in the center of Modena. Clean room and facilities. Staff is professional and nice. Very close to the piazza. Good restaurants in the area but I would book I table first as they were all very full. Breakfast is good and well presented. Will return here if back in Modena.

"Does exactly what it says on the tin"
Fay83, 07 Février 2016

The Hotel Liberta is a very good 3 star hotel, situated ideally in the middle of town. We had a very spacious suit style room with a nice view. It was clean and the customer service in the hotel was excellent. The bathroom probably needs updating but on the whole we were very happy we stayed here. We didn't eat here so cant comment on breakfast/ dinner.

"Excellent environment, kind staff"
seoultrpadv, 29 Janvier 2016

This is a very nice, clean hotel with spacious room at the center of Modena, walking distance to nice restaurants (Danielle, Enzo). I thank Fabrizio who was very kind in helping us to move to the next accommodation (taxi), recommending restaurants, smiling to my child, etc.

"EXCELLENT LOCATION"
hanbp, 28 Janvier 2016

It has an excellent place in the middle of the old town and very close to the Duomo. the staff is more than kind, they were super perfect. The rooms are clean but urgently need renovation. the hotel is old. so it has avery heavy smell inside. It has a parking area that need prior reservation. Breakfast has too many alternatives but with low quality foods.

"Meh"
Oronico, 19 Décembre 2015

We spent one night in Modena this weekend at the Hotel Liberta. The hotel has a central location and a well equipped room. (Hairdryer, toiletries and a safe to name a few) However the terrible scent in the lobby/hallways was overwhelming and the breakfast was disappointing. It was fine for one night, but we wouldn't stay here again.

"Central location. Basic. Weird smell..."
Leonardo Sergio d, 16 Décembre 2015

As per my style, let me start with a general statement: Modena offers a very limited selection of hotels! Most of these have not been refreshed in style in many years. This said, hotel Libertà is an extremely good option as it's located in the heart of the city. Next door to the main attraction (i.e. Accademia Militare) and at walking distance from the main church. While location is perfect, the place looks old fashioned straight from the 70's despite several attempts of delivering a more recent look and feel. Overall this hotel offers what you need for a short stay. No more no less than this. Beds are comfortable. You can sleep well also because it's located in an extremely quite area of the town center. One demerit to mention: horrible stinky smell in the corridors.

"Nice staff, Nice location, Nice little room"
Akash P, 22 Novembre 2015

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Did everything they could to help out and be welcoming. Location is great, walking distance to train station, bus station, Enzo Ferrari museum, a lot of great coffee places and places to eat + drink. My room was a little dark, as there was little natural light, the shower was a little small, and no kettle in room for those of us that like a hot drink! Overall very good however.

"Best location in Modena"
awtwlondon, 15 Octobre 2015

Stayed here for 2 nights in October. Room was really comfortable, though the bathroom might need an update from the 1970's.But this is super trendy these days and the hotel staff are so helpful and friendly. Probably the best location in Modena and a good breakfast. Stay here if you're in Modena... You'll not regret it, especially as a short walk to the enzo Ferrari museum and other attractions.

"Clean and particular"
Izabela W, 15 Octobre 2015

We have stayed here one night. Everything sems to be on its own place clean and modern. Only the noise of the refrigeratore at night was disturbing me. The Refrigerator stays in the little salone behind the slide door prior to the bedroom but you can hear it while trying to sleep anyway. Breakfast and the bar downstairs were great. Lot of choice from the swedish table. Wow ! Izabela from Rome.

"Lovely little hotel"
blossomdaisi, 07 Octobre 2015

Good points: very clean excellent staff good breakfast perfect location has it's own car park Not so good points: little bit dated lift is small so could get a bit squashed in busy periods but really only used it with the cases We stayed for 2 nights in rooms 304 and 305. The hotel is small and down a little side street but it is meticulously clean, comfortable and has very friendly and helpful staff. Our rooms overlooked the front of the hotel and didn't have much of a view due to the narrowness of the road and proximity to the building on the opposite side. However, we weren't disturbed by noise and it was still very warm outside so tended to keep the shutters closed. The rooms were dated (avocado bathrooms!) but spacious, clean and comfortable. There was a hospitality tray and a safe for guests use. There was also air-conditioning which was controlled from inside the room. A large dressing table which would have been fine for working on. The hotel did have lots of little steps so if you required disabled access it could be an issue but I'm sure the staff would be very helpful. Breakfast was plentiful. Staff brought tea/coffee as required to the table and there was a good choice of fruits, pastries, breads, meat and cheese. Would we stay again? Oh yes, without a doubt.

"Can do much better in Modena"
Toscana1234, 02 Octobre 2015

Modena is a difficult city in which to find a good hotel at a reasonable price but I would certainly not recommend this one.... it's smelly and old. Definitely not up to Best Western normal standards in other cities.

"Perfectly located hotel"
Erik_Tervuren, 20 Août 2015

The main trump of this hotel is obviously its location: only 100m away from the piazza grande with the duomo. So, plenty of restaurants in the immediate neighbourhood (check whether they're not closed when you're visiting Modena mid-August). What was also important for me was the garage. The hotel has a small, covered and secured parking almost adjacent to the hotel. OK, it will cost you €20 per day, but that's a quite normal price for parkings in the city centre and pretty essential if your car is stuffed with bags and luggage. Make sure you reserve your parking spot in advance. The rooms are nothing special. A bit outdated (certainly the bathroom), but not too small. There is an airco, but we felt it had difficulties to cool down the place. Positive point: there is a safe for your valuables. The shower was a bit awkward and small, but quite OK in the end. Breakfast was OK, certainly to Italian standards. The receptionists were helpful and spoke French to help you out if your Italian appears to be insufficient. I assume they speak English as well. All in all a pretty OK hotel. Nothing special, but certainly suitable for a one to two nights stay when visiting Modena.

"Thanks Hotel Liberta!!"
Johan M, 31 Juillet 2015

My wife and I stayed from 30 June to 3 July and what a wonderful time we had. The hotel is in the center and very close to excellent restaurants. This is not a fancy hotel but the service and hospitality was brilliant. We had a very good breakfast every morning for only 3 euro per person! Our room was very clean and we have no complaints what so ever. Although it was a long walk in the heat, it is not too far to the station. Hope to be back.

"Great base for Ferrari and Puccini Land Tour"
adventuraNy, 20 Juillet 2015

We were traveling through the Veneto region during a heat wave by moto and needed a stop for a few days that did not require us to use the moto to get around so we picked Modena to enjoy the Ferrari and Puccini Land Tour. This hotel was the perfect choice for our needs. Pros: Secure garage parking with cameras and locked doors Walking distance to great restaurants and all the sights of Modena including the Ferrari Museum and stop for the Land Tour. Very comfortable bed Great staff Outstanding breakfast selections Clean Con I have selected 3 instead of 4 because the hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. We felt like we stepped back to 1994. While the whole space is very clean, everything needs updating - bathroom tiling, the fabrics and upholstery etc. There was a new tv, and the bed was extremely comfortable and new. The day we checked out it looked like maybe some of the rooms on our floor where actually getting updated, but I am not 100% sure. Wifi was weak Breakfast was fantastic and staff was really friendly and outstanding. Overall, I would stay here again if in the area if the price is a bargain because of the parking, the friendliness of the staff, and the comfort of the bed.
