Best Western Nittany Inn Milroy

We stayed here when we couldn't get a reasonably priced room in State College after a sports tournament. It was an easy 25-minute drive, right off of a major highway. The room was quiet, clean, and well within our family budget. The beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly...even when we got there at midnight.

I traveled for a wedding and the stay was just what I needed. Breakfast was very good and hot! The room was very clean and staff was friendly. I would highly recommend and would stay here again if in the area.

This hotel is extremely clean, my room on the second floor was quiet, the bed was very comfortable with a nice selection of pillows, they served a hot breakfast with sausage and eggs. Staff is very friendly . Couldn't ask for more.

This is the third time I have stayed. !lways quiet. Breakfast is plain, but good. Staff is quite personable! I enjoyed my stay, and felt safe the entire time, as I was traveling alone. A DG is right next door, and a quick mart is nearby too! I would recommend if you aren't looking for a 5 star ((?)) . It's definitely a 4.5 for the price and location for me!

Have stayed here several times over the years and this particular place seems to be in need of some attention. As for Room 223 the door sticks so badly it requires a shoulder against it to close and kick to open. This is a fire hazard in the event of an emergency. Someone elderly would not be able to open this door. Toilet would not stop running. Tub faucet was falling out of shower wall. Room smelled musty. These are things housekeeping certainly is already are aware of and should not need a guest to point out. As for our arrival, we pulled up at 12:17am after a 9 hour drive. At which time there was large gathering in the covered drive up entrance. Approximately 10-15 adults. Young children were playing in the driveway which had to move out of the way in order for us to pull up to the front door. We observed that the adults were gathered out front smoking, drinking and partying. Bottles of liquor including a half gallon of Captain Morgan and others were lined up on the sidewalk entrance as well as empty beer cans and trash from snacks like cookies and chips. We asked the night clerk what was going on she told us it was a group for a baseball tournament. We told her we had never seen anything like thibefore. She gave us our room key and I asked where it was and if we were on opposite side of the street party to which she said it was not but if it got too loud to call her and she would ask them to quiet down. We could clearly see she was not going to do anything about it after we expressed our concern upon our arrival and the young lady appeared intimidated by the crowd and by us pointing it out. As we took our room I could hear the party out side and captured video of it from our 2nd floor room. These guests dispersed after 2am and after a loud and disturbing entrance to their rooms we were finally able to get some rest. Needless to say we will never stay here again.

Budget hotel, room with 2 double beds but charged extra for a third guest, free breakfast was reasonable and appreciated coffee in the lobby 24/7. Far from State College but more affordable than closer hotels. Driving to the hotel through the mountains was challenging due to heavy fog.

Dirty floor found old food in our room. Front door didn't work had to pry it open physical when we got there. Wifi was in and out and hard to connect to in our room. Cable box was disconnected from TV so it took a little while to figure out what was wrong with the TV.

Chose the proper date, reserved a room from the list of options provided. System reserved the room for the current date instead of the proper date. Hotel staff rude and would provide no resolution. Called Best Western customer services, and they promised to try to file for a refund, but a week and a half later, no refund. They took my money and provided no resolution for their reservation system glitch.

Breakfast was seriously lacking, opted for coffee only and went elsewhere. No one at check in desk. Had to ring bell and wait for staff member. Room was ok but the water stains on the ceiling over top of the bed were unsettling. Would probably drive a few more miles next time for a nicer place.

This hotel is clean and comfortable. Breakfast every morning is always good. The price of the stay is always a plus. The only downfall is the one receptionist, V. She has an attitude about everything. I don't need a lot of assistance, but when I did she was not very helpful. The internet here is spotty, if you come and need to use it for anything. And the pool was a nice extra, if it was kept clean. I had to ask for a skimmer every time I used it because it was so dirty. They had a pool guy here one day and it didn't look any better. Would recommend for the price and the cleanliness, but not for the customer service. Tony the housekeeper is great as well as Brandy. They were always sweet.

I booked the hotel because i had to pass the through the area the weekend of May 6-8. It was expensive at over $500/night because of something going on at Penn State. I bought insurance in case i had to cancel, which I did. They still charged me $600 to cancel. I called and asked about the insurance and they said...yeah that doesnt cover much I dont know why people buy it. I said...no, I dont know why you sell it. Rip-off land. Glad I wont ever be coming back.

Very nice little hotel. Super friendly staff, I think she said her name was Jenessa, very nice young girl. Breakfast was great. Didn't pay too much. Great place to stay 10/10. Wi-fi was fast. Bed was comfy. Room was cleaned very well.

Broke down with my semi, 15 deg outside I was cold and tired. Was looking for a nice hotel in the area. I was dropped off at this Best Western and I'm glad I was. Janessa at the front desk was so nice, she was very helpful and explained everything to me. Made me breakfast in the morning and was so kind to make my morning nicer. The hotel I highly recommend its clean very nice and all updated very nice room and shower. Just an over all good experience. This hotel is just as nice or nicer than other “high End “ hotels for a really reasonable price. Great Job everyone!!!! Thanks ! Especially Janessa !

Owner does not care about their loyal customers and is rude. I had a confirmed reservation for weeks, and then received a call from the owner who cancelled my reservation so they can charge other customers over 5 times my confirmed rate. This is a very poor business practice and no way to treat loyal Best Western customers. Honor your commitments and treat people with respect. Travelers beware, especially Penn State alums and fans. This hotel may cancel your room out from under you, even if you have a confirmed reservation. Not fun if you think you have your travel itinerary all set, only to have your hotel room taken away from you so the hotel owner can make more money and gouge those traveling to Penn State. I would avoid this hotel, if possible, as there are many much better options in the area. Stay somewhere that cares about their customers and does not operate using unscrupulous business practices. Also, take note of the other reviews discussing dirty rooms, the filthy pool, and the rudeness of the managers/owners. The owner is either just greedy or unpatriotic. Hotel chains have long offered a discounted rate to the Military and Government Service employees on both business and leisure travel in honor of their service to our country. I have worked for the U.S. Navy for over 25 years and I'm very appreciative of the honor and recognition bestowed by businesses who recognize the contributions of Military members and Government civil service employees. I've stayed in many hotels (including Best Westerns) where the Military/Government rate has been extended to me whether on Business or Leisure travel, including weekends. The facts here are, I properly booked a rate that was offered on the Best Western website which is meant to recognize our Military and Government members/employees and is available to use at all times. If the business does not want to offer such a rate to our country's Military and Government members, then don't offer it on the official Best Western website. The actions of owner of the Best Western, Milroy, PA are either a greedy money grab, unpatriotic, or perhaps both. In either case they should be ashamed of themselves, and I don't believe this business should be supported by customers who have many choices on where to stay. And, trust me, there is nothing special about this motel. Why patronize an establishment where the owners are rude, have little regard for their customers, operate with unscrupulous business practices, and don't honor service to our country.

Needed a room near State College PA for a Penn State game where all other hotels were sold out. Found this place "by accident". Wasn't expecting much for the price. It isn't fancy but it was clean, good sized room, comfortable bed. I will definitely be checking in to this again next season! Only 30 minutes from State College!

The encounter with the check in person was not good. My 84 year old husband did not understand the smoking policy so he asked again for clarity, The woman on the desk said: I already told you once, so rude. The hotel is clean but the handicapped bathroom is a joke. I feared for my life getting in the tub. You had to sit sideways on the shower chair and the water did bot hit you right. On to the breakfast, The hot items were a joke. They took hard boiled eggs, smashed them and passed them off as scrambled eggs, I was tempted to ask for mayo so I could make egg salad. The sausage was a dried out disc. The next morning was no better. Some kind of round egg disc and more nasty sausage. We were told the receipt would be slid under the door the day of checkout, it was not. I am looking elsewhere in the Milroy area to stay. I forgot to mention there was mold above the shower on the wall.

I was there when psu played a game. I was not there for the game. Over paid for a not so nice place. I felt like they did not care. The room was ok but the tv was not clear, the food was terrible and shower curtain was moldy.

Good nights sleep. Clean hotel friendly staff. Very good breakfast both hot and cold, muffins and buns, cereal and yogurts. Waffles always the best. TV in room had no signal, front desk had no idea how to fix but I figured it out. Remote worked hard (worn out)

Let me start by saying the hotel itself is fine but the customer service is absolutely terrible unless you like being lied to. The so called manager is absolutely terrible and should not be in customer service. We booked this hotel for a wedding and she told my handicap grandparents that they didn't have any handicap rooms at the hotel. My grandmother pressed the issue knowing that legally that wasn't true and I guess to get her off the phone they told her that she was booked in a handicap room. Having a sneaky suspicion that that wasn't the case we called up a week or 2 later to confirm that they had a handicap room and they did not so my aunt made a reservation (out of our wedding block) for a handicap room and then wouldn't let them switch the room for no good reason at all. Save yourself the aggravation and headache and don't stay here

I'm giving it 2 stars because of the price. We were looking for a hotel most in the area were booked and we were traveling just needed one for the night. Checked in 10pm and paid $189. I realize it was a Saturday night but the hotel is very average. For the most part was clean and beds were comfortable but it's a $100 a night hotel.

Our children were looking forward to swimming after long hot days of baseball and the pool was broken. Staff states it's been broken for months. Pool area was locked. Couldn't sit on the deck and relax. Back yard area was ok but uncovered and again it was a very hot weekend.

Pool was filthy and littered with old pool equipment. Grounds were not kept nice. Older hotel with new paint, linens and floors. Outdated machines. Gym was 1 working treadmill and 2 yoga mates. Absolutely not worth the money.

upon late arrival at midnight, front desk clerk was not at the front desk. rang the bell several times, she was sleeping inthe back room and i had to wake her up. i asked her several times to repeat was she was saying so i could understand, she would not,just pointed to the forms that needed to be filled out. rude. same behavior at check out.

The motel has free parking. My check in went quickly. The rooms (which include free wi-fi and a free breakfast) have inside entries. My room had everything I needed. I got a good night's sleep. My check out went quickly.

the hotel is very well kept and the staff is very polite and helpful. the location is close to area dining and services. It is a very peaceful place to relax and unwind and close to some nice state parks.

We've stayed at this hotel two times over the past 13 months. Both times we were extremely satisfied. It is very quiet, exceptionally clean, and the staff is extremely nice and helpful. We will definitely stay here each time we are in the area.

Hotel was clean and tidy. Staff was pleasant. Theres a bar and grill right beside it. Other restaurants nearby and a gas station. Breakfast and basic toiletries were provided. Comfortable beds. King room was spacious.

Everyone was very nice and polite. Very clean ! Breakfast was good. The front desk people were very polite and approachable! Both had bubbly attitudes. We enjoyed our stay. We are planning another get away already!

State College sold out...great option for us while visiting PENN state. it's about 30 mins away but we had 2 dogs and they were very accommodating and extremely reasonable. The room was decent and beds were comfortable. Comp breakfast was decent with great coffee hot waffles and eggs etc. Also cereals oatmeal muffins juice fruit. Staff is very pleasan .

Room was clean. Breakfast was good. Workers were polite. Only little problem I had was the toilet leaked alil but told front desk they ask if I wanted another room and i said no because it wasnt a bad leak.

I will come and stay here again!!!! Everything was excellent!!! It was very clean, the location is awesome and It was very easy to check in-out. I will let others know to stay there, when the Penn state game's are playing!!!!!

this is a great place to stay for the price, in this area of Pennsylvania. Make sure you check Penn State sports schedules, this is called Best Western Nittney Lion Inn. They get extremely busy on football weekends.

Typically when I am looking for a hotel I was focused mainly on price. However, I realized that this comes to a cost and a gamble that I don't have the time or patience for. So, I made the decision to try to stay at Best Westerns if available because it is great every time, they offer a AAA discount and allow pets!

Stayed on night Oct 29th. As always check in was very pleasant as was check out. Very friendly front desk ladies. Room was spotless, comfortable and quiet. When we visit the Big Valley we always stay here.Easy on and off of route 322.

The staff was helpful and friendly. I asked for an extra blanket and was given one immediately. The room was clean. I liked that the beds had a heavy blanket and coverlet. The breakfast had a nice selection.

Since we were only here for one night as we were picking up a rv down the street we chose this hotel. The staff all were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was average with at least a gluten free and dairy free option, one of the reasons I chose this hotel but the options were minimal!!! The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows should be thrown away. We paid 90.00 for a Monday night which for the quality of the hotel feel was a bit to high. Fitness room had only 3 pieces of equipment and only 1 treadmill which was a problem for us as we had limited time and only one treadmill, so one of us did not get the exercise we were hoping for after traveling for 9 hours in a truck!! The room was clean enough and the convenience of this being off the so called highway, and close to our final destination was good. The best part was ease of check in and out and the friendly staff who were helpful!

My friend and I needed a place to stay for the White Out game at Penn State - we were pleasantly surprised with this hotel! It was upgraded, clean, and comfortable. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly. Fantastic customer service! Will be back for games in the future.

Right off the interstate, with wonderful accommodations & a rather delicious sports bar (wait what) that's right, sports bar next door. (That does trivia every Monday night) We will not only be returning, but also recommend to friends and family

Wasnt sure what to expect but nice hotel. Not crazy about the breakfast but I try the eat light anyways. I usually grab some fruit and oj. Was nice having restaurant next door so you didn't have to go far for food. Room was clean hotel was clean.

We were very disappointed with our stay....We traveled to the area because my husband was having outpatient surgery here. We booked a room and requested a handicap accessible bathroom, and received an email stating that they were able to fulfill our request-so they claimed. When we got there, instead of a walk-in shower (like other hotels have), it was a bathtub that was so deep, I had to lift my husbands legs in order for him to get in. The shower chair was too big so it did not set securely in the tub. He was required to shower twice before the procedure but, after the difficulty he had that night, we actually went to a friend's house the next morning to use their shower! Breakfast was "adequate"....the sausage & eggs were lukewarm, at best; as the pastries ran out they were not replaced so, unless you were one of the first ones there, you had to go without; the fruit looked like it was on it's last leg;and there was only 1 juice choice. For less money, and better amenities, we should have spent the night in State College!!

No frills, but you get a great experience for your money. The breakfast (not continental) is great and homemade. This hotel is just enough for a night or two stay. Best experience for the money in the area. I stay here weekly for work and always have a pleasant experience. Try Smitty's crab bisque!

After driving over 850 miles, my room was a welcomed stop. Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed. Will definitely stay here again. Walking distance to three restaurants, all are good. Gas station across the street.

When checking in, chas was the person who had checked us in. She didn't seem very happy but it could of been the time of day being it was close to the end of her shift. The next day the 7-3 pm shift lady kelly was very nice and helpful and we explained that we would have prefer to have a king room and she didn't think twice and was more then happy to move us too a different room being we were there for several nights. The second morning after being there, we got back to our room very late and had noticed that there was dried blood on the pillow case and also the blanket. We put it off to the side and the next morning we brought it too the attention of the front desk. While waiting for the front desk agent to get off the phone,a gentleman who they called "Blu" came out from behind the desk and I explained the situation with the blood,he said he would send housekeeping up to change the room up. When we got back I went to the front desk so they could give me my receipt, to find out that this creep who I then found out from the desk clerk was actually the general manager, decided to go in and try changing my room rate and then didn't even tell me. If it wasn't for the nice desk lady telling me this he would would have charged my card more. The nice desk agent had to go in and fix everything, and then charge the correct amount and then gave me my printed receipt, and then had to check me out the night before I was scheduled to check out just to make sure I wasn't charged more. I also had to go into my credit card and lock the card so he couldn't. The morning of checkout he was working the desk. Did you know he chased me to my car while I was loading up my belongings and told me he needed me to come back inside. When I went back in, he proceeded to tell me I still owed money after my credit card was already charged the correct amount. I told him I wasn't paying extra. He proceeded to call me nasty names and proceeded to use very vulgar language and say that I am never welcome and everything else. After speaking with his staff, even they said that this man is bascially an ass of a boss. I even heard from other best western location staff that this hotel is nasty and unfriendly. I can see from the way that this general manager acted and was very unprofessional. I would not only recommend that nobody stay at this hotel. I am also filing a complaint with corporate on this general manager. Nobody who brings you business deserves to be treated like this.

The wife and I took a road trip from Michigan to Harrisburg / Gettysburg, PA area. We decided to stay in Milroy as it was a nice small town and the Best Western rates were amazing. We finally arrived after a long drive, which included an ER visit along the way, and were greeted immediately as we entered by Kelly. She asked how our day was and we explained our crazy adventure that included an ER visit. Kelly went out of her way to make sure our stay was going to be as comfortable as possible. The next day as my wife and I passed by the main desk, Kelly asked how I was feeling and made sure we did not need anything else at that time. When we needed additional pillows and towels later in the day, Kelly was once again gracious in fulfilling our request. As for the hotel itself, the lobby and breakfast area are decorated nicely. The rooms are clean and have a modern feel to them! Most importantly, the staff at this Best Western are truly amazing and will assist you without hesitation during your stay! They truly make you feel right at home!

This place is trying to make money off of customers because of he Penn State campus being so close. I was trying to get a set rate to make it easier.on the company. Being Penn State is done for the summer, they should be able to work with the customers to make it more affordable. I am not happy with the treatment I received over the price.

The Best Western Milroy has been refurbished and the rooms are lovely! The king bed was comfortable and the bedside chair was very functional. This property has always been very clean and accessible. The young man on the desk was extremely friendly and efficient. We stayed on the first floor near the end of the hall. Smitty's bar and grill was literally steps away from our room. The continental breakfast was good with lots of choices. The only drawback that I could see was when they did the refurbishment, the commode should have been upgraded to a comfort height toilet. The toilet is incredibly low and hard for an older person to use. We love the country side and we will be back to the Big Valley Area, so much to do!

BEST says it all. Stayed on a Tuesday night this time. Check in was prompt as usual. Tracey did an EXCELLENT job preparing our room for us.Check out was a real treat as Kelley was on morning shift that morning. She is a VERY special young lady. Wii be back again soon to visit the Big Valley and will stay at the BEST Western for sure.This time we stayed in March but I could write another review until May

Hotel was nice, beds great. Nothing really around but a nice restaurant right next door. Had to travel a little to get to other places. I'd recommend staying here, Chasity at the front desk is very accommodating if you need anything

I took a temporary job in Pennsylvania, 2,600 miles from home. I ended up in Milroy at the Best Western Nittany Inn. I have stayed there from December 8, 2018 until now, March 24, 2019, and counting... As such, I got to know the place and the people that worked there pretty well. I was on a first name basis with many of them, particularly the desk person Kelly and housekeeper Toni. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. I felt well taken care of there. They accommodated my requests and the manager "Blue" even asked my opinion about their breakfast offerings, and made some changes based upon my inputs. The accommodations are about what you'd expect at this price point. I wasn't looking for a 5-star hotel, because I was living off of my per diem, but I was comfortable and never had even the slightest concern for safety or my personal belongings. The rooms come equipped with TV, mini fridge, micro wave oven, WiFi, and even a hairdryer. Also, there is nice work table with a reading lamp, where I did much of my work. There are laundry facilities, an exercise room, and a seasonal swimming pool. While I was there, they were updating the furniture in many of the rooms and in the lobby. There are not many restaurants nearby: Smitty's Sports Bar (associated with the hotel), Subway, Arby's, Dairy Queen, OIP, Londonderry's restaurant and pub, all within walking distance. The "big" city of Lewistown is 7 miles away and has more options. Milroy is a quaint little place where you often hear the hoofbeats of Amish carriages going by. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

great location easy access, staff was very helpful. we had our pet with us and the staff was very receptive to her. breakfast was hot and there was a great choice of food. we had a room right off the lobby, and it was convient for our pet to go out side, there is a very nice reataurant accross the parking lot food was great.

This was the second time I have stayed at the Best Western in Milroy, the first time was for 7 weeks, this time was just for 2 nights. As always, the room was very clean and the staff were very friendly. Special shout out to Kelly who was always a friendly face after working all day and she was always willing to chat for a few minutes, which makes being away from home a little easier. Not that I want to work away from home, but if I am sent away again, I will certainly stay at the Best Western Milroy and will look forward to seeing Kelly, Blue & the rest of the amazing staff!

Didn't need anything fancy, just a place to lay our head for the night. Sadly, we couldn't even get a decent night of sleep. The 4 small pillows on each bed are an awful idea, and were not comfortable. The in room refrigerator made a constant humming / wheezing sound as it cycled. This made it impossible to sleep soundly, and we woke up multiple times overnight from the sound. We could hear the toilet being flushed in the room above us. There were too many things here that made it hard to wake up refreshed in the morning. We finally just got up early and left. Didn't even look at the breakfast options. Just wanted to leave. We don't plan on returning to this location in the future.

Stayed one Friday night this past weeked. The lady at the front desk (Kelly) had just started and was overwhelmed right away. She remained calm, friendly and took care of business. When it was our turn she remained positive, calm and friendly. Very responsible customer service. She deserves a raise. Even recommended at very good spot to have dinner. Will be back again when the area.

I had a very pleasant stay. Rooms are very clean. Staff is friendly. Pets are allowed for an extra fee. You are allowed up to 2 pets, but be advised the fee is $20 for each pet per night, do if you have 2 it will be $40 extra per night not a flat $20 per night .

Staying here was a last minute decision. Headed to a Penn State Football game when freezing rain came into the forecast. I would normally stay at a Marriott or Hilton, but had no choice - so here I was! Upon arrival, the lady at the front counter, Kelly, was super nice and welcoming. Upon arrival in our room, I was surprised how clean it was. Seemed almost new. Walls insulation was a little lacking - we could hear the TV next door, but nothing too annoying. Breakfast next morning was simple - nothing fancy but nothing to complain about. Again, front desk person (different one) was super nice and helpful. Cleaning staff in halls were all very pleasant and all said hello with big smiles. My impression of Best Western certainly changed after this visit. My 5 stars was based on how inexpensive our stay was. This certainly isn't a resort hotel, but for what it is, its great!

I stayed at this hotel for 7 weeks while I was away for work. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms I stayed in were clean and the housekeeper was so nice (thanks Toni!). I also had staff who sporadically stayed throughout this 7 weeks and the hotel staff were great to work with, in reserving multiple rooms, dates, etc. Smitty's Bar & Grill is conveniently located right next door with good food and friendly waitstaff. Being away from home for 7 weeks certainly isn't fun or ideal, but the staff at the Best Western certainly made it easier! Special shout out to the manager, Blue--so very nice and professional. Thank you everyone for your hospitality!

The hotel is very clean. There is a pub next door Smitty's decent food with reasonable prices. We stayed here for about half the amount that downtown State College was charging. However, for the people who review that it's a short ride....well it's about 30min. It was a $75 dollar cab ride to airport, and Uber is kind out of the picture so you are kind of stuck in Milroy. We made the best of it, just make sure you know that you a ways out for game and any kind of decent nightlife.

We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We had a king room, on the first level with all the amenities. Our dog was welcomed as well. the room was spotless and the internet was easy to connect to. I will be using this hotel anytime I have a family affair in that area!

The staff was incredibly friendly, property was clean and rooms were extremely clean and comfortable! The complimentary breakfast was delicious! The distance to Penn State for the football game was perfect for the value! Will definitely stay here again!

Nicely renovated this hotel is about 20 minutes from State College. A great way to get a jump on the commute back home Sunday morning after a Saturday game, since it is directly off 322. Room was renovated with laminate hardwood floors and new furniture and fixtures. For an old Best Western it was in great shape, and about 200 dollars a night cheaper than staying in State College. I'll stay again. The only issue was the mattress was a little firm and breakfast ended at 9:30 which was a little too early after a Penn State Homecoming weekend.

Only needed to stay one night due to poor travel weather but this place is clean, welcoming and allowed us to get cleaned up (washer-dryer) while traveling with our dog. Dollar General nearby for small supplies like detergent. Kelly at the front desk was courteous and welcoming.

The Best Western Nittany Inn Milroy made traveling for business easy and comfortable. From the friendly staff to the clean and presentable rooms, everything was taken care of from the time we booked the room to the time we left. Thanks again for a great stay!

I really never realized that it could be so quiet and restful in Milroy, but I was surprised. My stay at the Best Western in Milroy proved that there is QUIET somewhere, very restful night's sleep. I would highly recommend this quaint establishment to anyone planning a trip to State College, PA

This is a great hotel, staff is awesome, Kelly at the front desk is great and very helpful, good breakfast, clean rooms. Bed was a little too firm , pool is good but small. Lobby area is nice. Convenient location right off the highway also.

Checked in for a wedding while at the same time there was a major group playing a regional baseball game. Mix up with reservation but solved immediately in a most satisfactory manner. In spite of a bunch of 15 yr old boys a very quiet hotel and the staff went out of their way in ALL areas

I think this hotel is excellent my stay was wonderful... the gentlemen that worked the desk at night was so informative and friendly about what they had in the area he even looked up information for me with addresses and names .. the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable... I also loved that it had full windows to open In the room not the little sliver of a opening you get at most hotels... it was a beautiful day and it was nice having the fresh air go threw the room... I will definitely be coming back for another stay and referring this hotel to anyone traveling to the area... also the pool are was very nice... and very clean, refreshing the views of the mountains where amazing ????????????????????

Room was mostly ok but not impressive. At least it was clean. The major issue for me was 3 guys in the lobby talking to the receptionist until somewhat late. Our room was just down the hall from there. The included breakfast was good enough.

Nice for the price! Upon arrival we did not realize it was a dog friendly hotel not that that really matters. But in this instance there were two dogs that have been left behind in their room right by the front desk. And they continued to bark while we were trying to nap in the afternoon. Apparently they had been left behind, Isn't it nice they were not left in hot car? But there is places called Pet Resort if you're going somewhere and you're going to leave your dog behind. Who leaves their dog behind at a hotel? So when I commented to the front desk that the dogs keep barking and I couldn't take my nap, they offered me a free appetizer at the restaurant next door. Aside from that, the hotel has been updated recently. So it did look kind of new. The front desk was extremely nice and helpful. The kids enjoyed the pool outside. I enjoyed watching the Amish horse and Buggies go by.

Friendly staff, clean and updated rooms. Very good experience. I had a good nights sleep and felt right at home. All the amenities I needed were provided. The hotel was easy to access with basic shopping nearby.

This Best Western was okay in terms of accommodations, aside from the lumpy pillows. However, I was traveling with my dog for one night, so I specifically chose this hotel due to its promise of being pet-friendly. There were multiple other dogs staying in the same hallway as I was. I was located on the first floor, two doors down from the front desk. Around 4 a.m., my dog let out two barks when someone walked back and forth in front of our door and startled him awake. Five minutes later, I got a call (via the extremely loud and startling alarm-type ringer on the room phone) from the front desk informing me that the woman in the room across from mine had complained about my dog barking and asking me if my dog could be quiet. I think it was totally inappropriate for me to receive this call. My dog was not barking excessively (or at all, when I got the call). The front desk staff could have easily verified this, since my room was only a couple yards away. IMO, it's the responsibility of the front desk to appropriately balance the needs of their guests. I'm sorry that someone complained about two barks, but I was also a paying guest and in fact I paid extra to have my dog stay. I've stayed with him in multiple hotels and never had a single issue. I think a truly pet-friendly hotel wouldn't have woken me up at 4 a.m. to pass on an unverified complaint about my dog from another guest. The call and the 4 a.m. wakeup rattled me and really put a damper on my trip. I would not stay at this Best Western again, and if this is representative of their "pet-friendliness" then I wouldn't recommend any Best Western for fellow dog owners. Very disappointing.

The hotel is under renovations, they have quiet time between 10pm & 7am where no construction is allowed. The rooms & bathrooms are clean, some rooms need updating. The beds are firm and the pillows are not comfortable. The breakfast area is very small but has waffles, toast, fruit and juice.

Very clean rooms. Staff was great. Great location for the best Fly Fishing in PA. The adjacent restaurant was very good with great beer selection and surprisingly good food. Every where we went, the people were respectful.

The staff was very nice and went out of there way to make my stay comfortable. When I arrived the lobby was being re-tiled. I had to walk around the side of the building to get in. The staff was very appologetic and made the inconvenience a non issue by caring so much about me.

We were in town recently to attend a sporting event. All the hotels in on campus were booked. This spot is about 23 minutes off campus... but drive is nice. Staff was friendly and place was clean. The price was less than others, but it was nice. Breakfast included... but stops serving at 9:30.

Make sure you do not get placed in room 109. The wall connects to the breakfast area. If you need to be up early, then it was fine. BUT, if you have an opportunity to sleep in, this is not the room for you. You can hear every item being set up for the breakfast, plus the waffle machine beeping and conversations among the other guests.

This hotel certainly provides for all my basic travel needs - Clean, convenient access to the highway, front desk staff with a helpful attitude and the convenience of a restaurant literally next door. If you are looking for the JW Marriott then this is not the place for you! The breakfast is a little lacking but again it fulfills my needs when in the area to attend the Fire Academy. On my last visit Joanna on the front desk was always courteous and helpful and the staff in Smittys the restaurant were excellent. It is my go-to hotel when in visiting nearby Lewistown.

I've stayed here 9 nights in just over a year and previous stays were very good. This time though it wasn't. Rooms now looking tired (although I believe they are refurbing them) and on the secind night they hadn't cleaned the room which was very annoying. Breakfast also poor with none or a poor choice of fruit and had to help myself for porridge from the cupboard (another guest suggested this). At least Smitty's is still as good as ever. New hotels open in the area later this year so this BW needs to improve to retain custom.

Easy off the highway location with standard rooms that gave us everything we needed for a 2-night stay here to see family. The front desk staff were very friendly. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. They provided plenty of towels and the heater was quiet. The only thing that rate this higher would be to have hot food on the complimentary breakfast.

This Hotel was OK, nothing special but conveniently located. The room was comfortable and the heat was too high when I got there. I like it around 65, it was 68. It is also a little noisy but most hotel heaters are noisy. The room was clean and the bed great!

Stayed here for a while in town for a wedding. No problems besides the washer and dryer not working correctly. Staff helped with that. Not much in the way of breakfast, but small hotel so to be expected. You will enjoy it. Basic clean hotel

we have to attend meetings once a month and choose to stay at this Best Western. Staff is friendly, it is very clean and comfortable. The restaurant, Smittys, right next door is very good and they have a huge selection of craft beers.

The Best Western Nittany Inn Milroy was a good place to stay, and they allow pets. It was a very clean hotel, and I was very satisfied with my stay. However, I thought it was a little pricey overall. I've stayed a nicer hotels for just a little more cost. HOWEVER, given the location, and that they allow pets, I would highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling through central PA, and you needed a decent hotel that allows pets.

The staff was very friendly and helpful went out of there way to make sure everything was ok. They gave us a super deal on a upgraded room and it was wonderful. Would recommend to anyone looking to get a good nights sleep.

The hotel is okay overall and great for the area. The staff is almost non-existent. I often get a room on the first floor near the reception area and most of the hours of the evening, night, and morning, know one is there. The breakfast is okay. The exercise room has limited hours and is very small and very hot.

Hard to get a reasonable priced hotel close to Penn State on football weekends. Stayed at this Best Western 20 miles out, but it did not disappoint. Very clean and good room overall. Nice staff and decent breakfast included. A few Amish horse and buggys pass by the place which is nice. Smitty's next door for pub food and package goods. Right off 322 which is convenient. Coming back for the Michigan game.

Adequate for what we needed for a 2 night stay. Pretty clean, but looks like the room had either a leak or mildew previously. Be careful getting in and out of tub, as it is VERY slippery with no provisions. Not much to do in the area, and not a lot of decent restaurant options either.

My wife grew up in this area and we return to see friends. We usually stay at a different place but at her sisters' urging we stayed here on this trip. Most things were ok for our 2 night stay. Rooms definitely clean well kept but we were not on a PSU home game weekend so all bets off then. Staff was very friendly. There were some gotchas that kept this from a much higher rating. Like the eternally flashing message light even though no messages. Following all directions to get messages had no effect to stop nor did efforts by staff. Not a big deal unless it's 3 am and the light keeps flashing and or you are expecting a message which we were and that d@@@ thing says you have a message when you don't . Or on the second morning virtually no fruit for the so called continental breakfast even though we went at 7:00 am Or the business computer that wouldn't connect to the internet and the desk person told us it hasn't worked in days. So sad too bad you're out of luck. Or the totally clueless desk clerk who said she would sign us up for the BW Rewards program but couldn't. On a better note there was one desk person who was great. There are posted signs that if not 100% satisfied let us know. We did. Not rectified. And to be clear we are not whiners.

Staff was very pleasant and our room was ready and was very nice. The hotel was clean and pleasant. The beds were excellent. the breakfast was good, it was typical of a Best Western. Complimentary continental breakfast, Choice of breads, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, make your own Belgium waffles, juice, milk and coffee. . I would stay at this hotel again.

Stay here for Penn State football games. It is very clean and affordable. Plus they offer free continental breakfast, which is great to just grab something and go. Also, the hotel is right off the exit of Rte 322.

From the time we checked in until the time we left, the staff and breakfast was exceptional. Will stay again. The ladies answered all questions we had and were very informative about the area and ease of which to get to the game. The breakfast had many options whether quick to grab and go or sit and relax with your meal. Very relaxing and quiet.

Alarm was sounding for 5 hours straight from a business across the street. I had an early flight and had to wake up at 3:30AM. I got 2 hours sleep after the alarm was finally turned off after midnight.

I am literally always happy with my stay from check in to check out. Friendly service is the key to every stay at this best western. The staff knows me by name and always allows me to feel like im coming home for a great nights rest.

Horrible experience. Room smelled of vomit. Hotel staff would not switch us to a different room. They sprayed a perfume or something to cover up the smell which only made it worse. We checked out after one night and were told our reservation was not refundable so we were charged three-nights. What a horrible bad joke

As mentioned previously, this is a nice hotel for the area. Clean rooms, nice staff. The eating area is small, next to the workout area and the exit....not well planned out! We reserved a room at least six weeks in advance, with a Jacuzzi. Told the hotel I needed to check in around 1 pm, for a wedding. Was told "no problem." DOuble checked two weeks before my stay. Again .."No problem." You know what happened.. my room was not ready when I arrived at 2 pm... They did allow us to change for the wedding in another room. As we were leaving for the wedding at 3 pm, the room was ready. That night the air conditioner went ON and OFF all night. Yes.. I checked the settings. Received a poor sleep...Remember this review if you book the room with the Jacuzzi....

Best hotel in the area. We've stayed at Comfort Inn...won't recommend, stayed at Super8 also in the area not too bad, no pool. The Best Western again had great accommodations and great staff. Breakfast & pool a plus.

Relatively new hotel, clean updated rooms, front desk staff very helpful. Sports bar next door makes for a quick and good meal after a long day on the road. Great burgers and wings. Nothing fancy but good value for the money.

Great place to stay, very clean and the staff was great. Breaskfast was at 530 my check out was at 5 am the girl at front desk asked if I wanted breaskfast she would get the cook to make me something. That never happen at any place I stayed at before.

Hotel is average at best. A/C was not working properly in our room. Breakfast area is tiny where you prepare and very little seating. Pool is ok, and picnic tables are falling apart. There is a yard for kids to play which is a bonus.

This hotel is not only ultra clean, it is fabulously friendly. There is a great restaurant and bar exactly 60 steps out the side door and if the restaurant isn't for you there's a Subway which offers a 10% discount for hotel patrons!!! VERY SWEET!! The hotel sits next to a truck stop, you say NO WAY to much noise.. NOPE, not a rumble or engine brake to be heard. Just the quiet whirl of the room HVAC unit and maybe the fridge. The rooms are spacious, modern and just right for unwinding after a hard day of work. It also has a seasonal pool which has been recently updated and painted!! Super relaxing!! The hotel is situated in an Amish community and to sit outside relaxing pool side and hear Amish buggies clip clop by is a wonderful sound!

The room was clean and very nice. Front desk staff were quite personable and pleasant . I used the fitness room--didn't like that if people ate breakfast they could stare at you, but equipment was good. It was an travel stop-over and it more than served its purpose. I would definitely stay here again.

This is one of the nicest Best Western hotels that I have stayed in. Typically I choose to stay at other hotel chains, but this was the nicest in the area I was visiting. Breakfast is lacking a bit, but cleanliness, location, and appearance are very appealing.

Very good. Room was much better than the Ramada in the area. Although lobby was a bit tight in the morning - with the breakfast setup. It was commencement week at Penn State - understandably all hotels in the area were charging more. Not too happy with the cost of the room but it was a better alternative to the ones closer to the university. Will stay here if I am in the area again.

I stayed here on Monday May 8th 2017 Nice room However there was mold in the caulking on top of the shower/tub stall amd in the window in the hallway near the stairway Check in was ok training was being done needed to change reservation and was going to be charged for trying to change my reservation I was able to get it worked out but becareful of the billing process I would stay again in the future

With few choices for lodging in this area, I was pleasantly surprised and the cleanliness and appearance of this hotel. I actually left another hotel to come to this one and was impressed with the quality for the price!

The staff at this hotel makes it worth the stay. The rooms are nice and what you would expect for a hotel of this price range, but I've been staying here for several weeks and no matter who is working the front desk they are always more than willing to help in any way that they can!

This hotel has been my hotel of choice in the last two years when visiting the State Fire Academy for classes. The staff truly go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one! It is also extremely convenient for us to be able to eat next door at Smitty's sports bar and grill especially when we have course work to submit the next day.

Staff was very friendly. When I arrived late for breakfast, the person cleaning up was kind enough to help me out getting food from her cart at the last minute. Room was clean and modern. Internet service was good.

My son booked us, and several other guests who who attending his wedding, in for 4 nights over the Easter weekend. We had consistently great service throughout our stay and I can't thank Roxy in particular and Toni and the housekeeping team for all their attentions. Great to have Smitty' s just next door for post wedding hanging out, great beer and good bar food. Thank you

We have stayed at this place twice and we like it a lot. The family suite is wonderful for our family of 6. The price is great. It is close to family and the children enjoy the breakfast in the morning.

The staff are so helpful and accommodating, they made my wedding weekend easy. All my guests and family that stayed here only had great things to say! We had some personal issues that reception staff members went out of their way to solve, even taking their personal time to do so. Overall, a wonderful stay!

Overall it was a very nice experience, I would recommend it. Very quite the staff was very helpful and very nice. The only thing I did not care for was the workout facility, the location and size of it were not to my liking. Other than that it was a very nice experience.

I was travelling though the area after getting a pop-up camper in New England. I have stayed here before and have found this motel adequate, but nothing special. The rooms are showing wear and need some TLC. The location is next to a honky-tonk bar, so be prepared for some late-night revelers. Since it close to State College, there are alternatives, if desired.

Had a good experience staying at the BW of Milroy, took in a few sights of the valley and hotel was the best value for the area . I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a weekend getaway in Central Pa

I had to travel to Lewistown, PA for work. There aren't a lot of 'name brand' hotel choices in the area. Usually I get a hotel in State College over 30 miles away. This time they were predicting a lot of snow and I didn't want to have to drive that far so I tried this hotel. I'm really glad I did. Its nothing fancy but the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and they had the standard amenities (cable TV, Wi-Fi, free continental breakfast). My room had a mini fridge and a microwave. And there was a sports bar/grill about 15 steps away from the side door so it was nice to be able to get dinner without having to get out in the snow. It is easy to get to (right off the highway) and in addition to the bar & grill next door there were some other nice restaurants in the area and some fast food options. I will definitely stay here again when I have to go back to the area.

This is the best option for the area compared to the older non renovated hotels in the area. Also the restaurant/bar next door has great food and is 100' from the side door of the hotel. I would come back again.

Was well satisfied with my stay at this hotel. It had been many years since I stayed at a BW hotel. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. It was in a very lovely locale in the Kishacoquillas Valley about 22 miles south of State College.

If you can't find a reasonable place in State College or if you are visiting the Amish country in Big Valley, the Best Western is a great choice. As you would expect, it is not lavish, but it is clean, comfortable and the rates are very reasonable. The staff are very accommodating. I had to check out the evening before my scheduled day. Since I didn't use the room the last night, the desk clerk volunteered to see if she could get a refund for me. A few days later, she emailed me to say I would get a 1/2 days refund. I didn't ask for it or expect it, but I was pleasantly surprised. They earned my business for the next time I visit the area.

The service was really great. We left our iPhone charger there and they found it and sent it to us -at no charge! I find so many time we leave something behind and no one ever turns it in. The hotel room was clean as expected. The bar next door was really great!

I was very pleased with the location of the hotel. Very easy to find and there was plenty of parking close to the entrance. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and I was pleased to be able to open the window at night, as I prefer fresh air rather than air conditioning. I plan to return next year.

I was in the area for a week at the State Fire Academy and I have to say the staff could not have been more helpful. The manager Ms. Summers obviously leads by example. The room was extremely clean including the bathroom and came with both a refrigerator and a microwave. Smitty's made dinner very convenient if I did not want to go far of an evening. Breakfast is extremely basic but healthy - if you are looking for bacon and eggs you will be disappointed. In summary - convenient, comfortable, clean, great staff - It is definitely where I will stay next time I am in town.

Rooms are small and very plain. Beds were comfortable and the linen was crisp and clean. Artwork would be an improvement. There really isn't anything to do in the area, except for parks and it is about 30 minutes to State College. I would have been very happy with the accommodations, but I paid 150% more than rack rate because it was a home football game at PSU.

I had an early morning appointment in the Milroy area which required an overnight stay. I chose the Best Western and I could not have been happier. This is an ideal location for business travelers. First, the location is excellent and central to any needs or appointments you may have in a 25 mile radius. Second, there is a great restaurant and sports bar next to the hotel and a 24 hour convenient store directly across the street. The hotel staff were incredibly polite and helpful. I needed documents printed out in bulk and they were able to accommodate without any trouble. Finally, this was the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in. You can tell the ownership puts effort and detail into making sure each room is ready for an incoming guest. The Best Western Nittany Inn Milroy is an ideal location for anyone traveling in the area. As someone who travels often for business, I wish I had more options like this hotel in other areas of the state.

I stayed here for three weeks. Breakfast is really minimal. The were often out of fresh fruit. They do have water in bottles available at breakfast, along with milk in a pitcher. The rooms on the South side are somewhat noisy because of the busy truck stop across the street. Nice that they have a washer and dryer- but a bit expensive $3 to wash and dry.

Very clean, comfy beds, plush towels. Excellent having a refrigerator in the room, too!! Smitty's Bar Restaurant is right next door with very good food. Close to Happy Valley without the cost! Really great breakfast selection, too!! Will definitely be back!

This hotel offered the perfect place to stay after attending the PSU vs. Kent State game on Saturday! It was just a short drive from State College which eliminated a long drive home in lots of traffic. Highly recommend!

Hotel was a stopping point over night on my way to Corvettes at Carlisle. Really pretty drive in that area. The hotel was clean and comfortable, there was a car wash about a mile away and Smitty's Bar and Grill was about 100 steps from my room. All in all a good hotel. There was a pool and gas station/mini mart across the street.

Beautiful view of the mountains. Had a perfect dinner at Smitty's next door and we ate outside. It is about 25 minutes to Penn State so very convenient. Felt like a bit of a vacation before college drop off

Milroy was a layover stop on a 5 day motorcycle trip. Check-In was easy and quick and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also good. We also liked that Smitty's Sports Bar was right out the side door for our dinner choice.

We enjoyed our weekend in this BW hotel for 2 nights during a family wedding and festivities. All of our needs were met, and the hotel was very child friendly. The continental breakfast was especially nice with choices to please most preferences and diets. We enjoyed the pool with towels provided by BW.

Friendly and accommodating staff. The place was very clean and cozy. Everyone was so nice. Breakfast was amazing and the lady kept it stocked well. The bar/grill next door is amazing too. There is a Dollar General, Subway and little gift store within walking distance. There is also a gas station across the way.

My stay was wonderful. I was only staying one night. Late check in was very helpful. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful. Staff from night to morning were extremely nice. Would definitely recommend to others and if needed for future business trips, it will definitely be my first choice.

We were extemely pleased with this location. People were over the top amazing and friendly. Hotel room was well kept and extremely clean. Amenities were all that you need. Amazing value based on other hotels that i have stayed in. The people really made the difference for us. Amazing team working at this place.

After a long day of driving and sightseeing we stayed at BW Nittany Inn. Luckily we had advance reservations as place was sold lout. Unfortunately the room initialy assigned was missed by the house cleaning staff but was recorded as done. Front desk was so apologetic. To me it was no big deal as she called manager and he said to give us a different room (early enough as not everyone was checked in) and immediately called in one of house cleaners - saw her cleaning room within 15 minutes of our arrival. Pool was relaxing but very small. Coffee available 24 hrs which was nice and free newspaper. Also a PC for guest use was in lobby. Me and 2 grandchildren slept very comfortably and didn't hear any noise. Breakfast was fine - consisted of muffins, bagels, waffle maker, 3 types of cereals, juice, coffee - sure there were some other things on counter. Advertised to open at 6:30 but was ready when i went down at 6. Would defintely stay agin when in the area.

The Best Western Nittany Inn is a great place to stay for business in the Lewistown area of Pennsylvania. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant next door has good food great service and a good variety on the menu. The value for both places is excellent.

We stayed here after a wedding and we AMAZED at the cleanliness of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. Seth (maybe?) checked us in and gave us a dinner recommendation and a snack recommendation, if we were hungry before Smitty's opened. He even told me when the shift change was, in case I needed anything. The room was absolutely perfect. Two queen beds with four pillows each and ample towels for our family of 5. Staff was very professional. We were politely greeted that night, when we returned after the wedding, by a young woman. We overheard the hotel was completely booked for the night, but we were not bothered by any noise throughout the night. Breakfast was filling (waffles, bagels, muffins, yogurt, cereal). Hidden gem in Milroy, PA!!!!

Clean hotel, friendly helpful staff. Few perks but reasonably priced. Small outdoor pool looked clean but was too cool to use during my early June stay. Serve yourself breakfast was pretty minimal, although did offer waffles, cereal, and juice.

We made a hotel room block more than a year prior to our Daughter's wedding. We had reserved both suites in our name for the wedding weekend, however at check-in one suite had been given to someone else not even part of our wedding group. There was no offered compensation or no effort to correct this error on their part. I would not recommend this hotel for your group.

I spent a lot of nights in the area on business in 2015 and 2016, The people here took great care of me, and the price of the room was a great value. Smitty's restaurant next door is also features great food and great service for reasonable prices.

Clean, well maintained, polite, great but simple breakfast. Nice hotel and staff. My only complaint is that they restrict pets to small dogs. My experience as a breeder, pet sitter and dog trainer is that small or large doesn't make a difference. Personally I find large dogs to be more accommodating to such travel situations. They should allow both.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I was in the area on business and needed a place close by that was affordable. The quality of everything was excellent, the staff were professional, and the rooms were clean and updated. I did not get a chance to enjoy the hotel's breakfast but it looked substantial with a good variety. Nothing but good things to say about this hotel.

I wanted to cancel my second night at 7am after the first night stay because my visit ended earlier than expected and was told that i would be charged anyway. So they go to charge somebody else for my room getting paid twice. thanks GM Roxie $$

This hotel is very friendly, clean and overall a very good hotel experience. I've never had a hotel coffee I liked but theirs was great. Continental breakfast more than I expected and everything was fresh and tasty. I would definitely recommend this hotel as the best I've ever stayed at.

This Best Western was conveniently located to Lewistown, Milroy, and Granville towns we visited. Very clean and staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Free breakfast in the morning was a plus. Would stay here again.

We purchased an RV from Lerch and the location of the hotel was ideal and the comfort and quality and cleanliness was above what we were expecting. Very satisfied with our one night stay. Took advantage of restaurant next door since it was within walking distance and enjoy a very tasty meal. Your employees were extremely nice and helpful.

I stay at this hotel three times a year, but this recent stay left a bad taste in my mouth. I mentioned a mistake the hotel staff made when I was checking out and the desk clerk got overly defensive and started lecturing me about respect and forgiveness. Then she made it personal, crossing a line she never should have. To top it off, when I checked my credit card account the next day, I was overcharged. Recent changes at this hotel are inconvenient and unnecessary. Sad.

No hotel in the surrounding area stacks up in professionalism, cleanliness, updated decor, and the restaurant selection. Can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. I have stayed in all the surrounding hotels due to business, and this hotel excels over the rest. Should have stayed here from the start!

We are here right now. We booked a King room. Arrived and the carpet was soaking wet. No other kings available, so now two Queen beds. Now trying to sleep and the music from Smitty's sports bar is blaring in our room. There is an incredibly inebriated guy outside our window throwing things and puking, with a group of 10+ people watching and taking cell phone videos. The room itself is not terrible, but the entire experience is pretty crappy.

22DEC15 Very nice and well kept hotel. The ladies up front really seem to enjoy their job. The Hotel was clean and well organized. It's beside Smitty's bar and grill that has some really great food. I'm glad we had two beds in there because we used one for sleeping and the other for...... #NastyNomad

The hotel rooms are clean, spacious and very quiet, the beds very comfortable. The hotel staff are professional and attentive. The adjacent restaurant has a good selection of food and beverage and the severs are extremely knowledgeable of specials and the menu.

Very nice place to stay. Staff is very friendly and the rooms are very clean. If you are heading to a Penn State game this is a great place to sleep. There are places to eat and shop near by as well. Everything was great staying there.

Clean; friendly and helpful staff. Moderate options for breakfast.Clean rooms. Low shower pressure. Good internet service. Very family-friendly. Microwave and fridge in room is great option. Broken ice machine on the first floor was a little inconvenient. Overall good quality for price paid.

Staff are very friendly in this hotel. They remember you by name though you do not come often. Coffee is all day and good assorted breakfast muffins. I believe that Best Western is the best place to stay in the Milroy Area.

Great value for the hotel, very clean and appears either updated or a newer hotel. Beds were comfortable and hotel staff friendly. Close proximity to Reedsville and State College. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Very friendly and helpful staff, I had to extend my stay and I forgot to get my room card reprogrammed, they quickly and efficiently took care of it! . Super clean rooms and always friendly housekeepers and the adjacent restaurant has great specials, trivia night, pool table.

This hotel was really nice...better than I expected! The room was clean, and quiet. Breakfast was basic, but good...waffles, muffins, hard boiled eggs, cereal. It was only about a 20 minute drive to the pool at Penn State, and the price couldn't be beat!! I think we will stay here for future meets!

Overall fairly clean.Dusty Behind furniture. SO SO breakfast. Ring bell and wait for service check-in. Nice view of the mountains . Decor of the Motel was nice , but nothing fancy. Had 2 queen suite on the first floor. People walking around overhead at night!!!!

I enjoyed my stay at this location. The room was clean. I booked two rooms for a family visit in this area and would stay there again. I am looking forward to my return to the Best Western Nittany Inn.

Fine hotel - nice room and a good bed. Restaurant/bar right next door. Nice staff, but didn't seem too interested when we were checked in. Just gave us our key and that was it (no directions of where to go, ask for help with bags, etc.) Missing lightbulb in one of the three lamps in the room. Overall, fine stay with no real issues.

I normally stay at Hampton-Inn, but this was the only hotel on TripAdvisor in the area that did not scare me. I have to say, this hotel was "Great". Very nice staff, very clean facility, "VERY" clean room....including the "special sanitized TV remote control" ....I have never seen that before in any hotel I have stayed in. I loved that. Very clean bathroom, the bed was beautifully made and again?....It was surprising. Not a bad breakfast area either; small and quaint. I will stay there again.

Compared to other Best Westerns this was 3 times the rate. For the same room the rate was high and service at check in poor. Breakfast was not up to the standards of many of the other Best Westerns I have stayed in across the country

Hotel has small comfortable feel to it , rooms were clean. Service was very good. Breakfast is below average. Was disappointed orange juice machine was broke.Good Value for the money. Nice location , within walking distance to restaurant.

It is a stones throw from route 322 so easy to find even at night. Very clean, staff helpful, knowledgable. Restaurant was casual but surprizingly good. I got the haddock, broiled. It was cooked to perfection and a huge portion. Refrigerator with freezer and microwave. Everything at breakfast was very fresh.

Pleasant stay with friendly staff. Clean room at a very reasonable price. Easy access from Rt. 322 to surrounding communities. The local and very professional Mifflin County Airport is 2 miles from the hotel.

I had to be at Penn State by 9am one morning (driving in from Wilmington, DE), so I wanted to stay at a nearby hotel the night before. None of the hotels in State College, PA were available. This one was on the way and only 30 minutes from Penn State, so I decided to try it. The hotel is small and is not near much of anything except a Dollar General store, a Subway restaurant and a big truck stop. It has two floors. The staff is very friendly, and the hotel is well maintained. I found the room clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The free wifi worked very well, and they offer quite a few channels on the TV. There is a free continental style breakfast each morning (includes waffles also). The room had a fridge and microwave. This would have been a perfect stay except for a few issues that are really beyond the control of the hotel's staff. One is the truck stop nearby. I heard the backup warning beeps, air brakes, clanking noises, engine noises, etc. throughout the night. Also my room was on the first floor near the lobby, so I kept hearing conversations of people hanging around outside even though my window was closed. At 3:30am, there was a woman in a very loud argument with someone outside, and this woke me up and kept me up for a half hour or so. The sound proofing between rooms is not as great as I would like, and I also could hear people walking around upstairs quite a bit. I used an app on my smartphone to generate white noise to block a lot of this out so I could sleep.

Stayed here the night before Freshman "move in" day. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the main campus so it was an easy ride in the morning. The hotel had great Penn State touches such as a large rug in the foyer and great pictures. The front desk staff were courteous and efficient. The buffet breakfast provided had an excellent selection and was of a very good quality. I would definitely stay here again!

This was our first time at this motel. We attend a BlueGrass Festival at the Grange Fairgrounds in Centre Hall the middle of July. Previously we stayed at a Best Western a little bit beyond the BGF & drove about 20-25 minutes each way. The rates were a tad high but they were close. This year the price was way out of line. So we began looking at others places. This one is before the BGF grounds & right on the highway we use to get there. It was 17 miles from the motel & 20 minutes. We were really pleased with the room & location. The entire bill at this motel was less than half of what the other one was. And it is the same chain! We will definitely be back to this motel next year.
