    « Be prepared! »

It may be a little harsh to call it poor, but overall not great versus what you expect from an airport hotel. GOOD: friendly and helpful staff, classic American design (if you like that, which I do), close proximity to the airport, rooms are of a decent quality, free shuttle to the airport, breakfast options are very limited. NOT GOOD: WIFI does not work. Whatever the staff say - no. In the end they felt sorry for me and let me use their non-guest one. Restaurant doesn't serve dinner, noisy (you can hear the road), beds are ok but not great (don't expect good sleep). So overall poor vs usual Best Western standard.

    « very poor wi-fi »

the hotel itself is quite ok, the rooms are small but confortables, the breakfast is good, the location is very close to the airport, but considering it is a hotel for business travellers the fact that the wi-fi most of the time does not work at all and the rare times it works is slow i would not suggest it to anyone. considering that apart from the airport there is nothing else in the area if you are stucked for one day waiting for your fligth there is absolutely nothing you can do.

    « Convenient to airport »

Our room was up a small flight of stairs, no elevator, but the late evening desk person was very helpful and carried up our luggage. Room quite small, clean, quiet and certainly adequate for a one night stay. Note that on a Sunday their restaurant is closed. Airport transport is free and begins at 5AM. They do not have their own shuttle and rely on a taxi which in our case was 10 minutes late. The desk person was concerned and did make a call to question the hold-up. We had a 6:05 AM flight- thankfully the airport is not very busy and we were whisked through the check in process and even had a little time to spare. If you arrive in Bordeaux from the train station as we did, be warned that it's a long way to the airport hotels. The metered taxi ride was about 65 € and they don't take a credit card. There is a bus from train station to airport, much cheaper, but then another cab ride to hotel. There were 3 of us so opted for the direct taxi.

    « A fair Hotel »

The hotel was okay, with fair rooms, comfortable beds and okay bathroom. The restaurant was closed, which was inconvenient, as I did not have a car, but I found a restaurant not to far away. The hotel was close to the airport for my early moring flight.

    3
« Good location, very average hotel »

Stayed here as we had an early flight. Staff very helpful although we did ask for a wake-up call which never happened. Room was small but functional - good king-size bed Restaurant which has an "American" menu was actually quite good OK value for one night close to airport - did provide shuttle (from 5 am)

« Good for one-night stay near airport »

Our family stayed here for one night in August 2016, after our flight landed at 1 am. The hotel is close to the airport (maybe a 3 min. drive). Unfortunately, the hotel's shuttle does not run in the middle of the night so you're forced to take a taxi. Hotel is sufficient for what we needed but don't think I'd want to stay here much longer than that.

« Don't let the pool fool you! »

I had a lot of sympathy with most of the staff here as they are trying their best to appease customers who are annoyed at the poor standard of hotel for the price. Not good considering the competition.

    « Super Staff but.... »

We booked the hotel because it was near to to the airport. That part is good although due to the poor signage at 10'oclock at night it took half an hour to find! To be fair that was not the hotel's fault because we had been delayed by our flight provider. Nevertheless, we were so upset to find out that food and drink were not available from the bar or restaurant. We realise that France tends to be on a different time zone to everyone else but this is a a hotel. There was an expensive sandwiche and yoghurt room service option available but not apprripiate really. We did find a very accomidating hotel down the road who took pity on us and provided us with a couple of glasses of wine to start our holiday off. We have stayed in Best Westerns before both in the UK and abroad and have never been dissapointed but this establishment need a thorough rethink. The breakfast is expensive and nothing special. We didn't get to sample the Amarican Diner because it apparently only opens from Monday to Friday! Great! We were stayed Saturday to Sunday! Warning! The bar closes at ten! The decor in the corridors is shabby but... The room has been obviously recently been redecorated and is actually nice. Our bed was big and comfortable and the staff were fantastic. I feel very sorry for the staff team because I think that they are doing an excellent job in a second rate establishment and Best Western should be ashamed of themselves. I think the hotel must have got their stars for the tiny swimming pool they have but they should never be rated above two stars.

    2
    « Adequate, just »

We would not have chosen to stay here, but did so compliments of Easyjet... Our room was clean but very small with barely enough room to negotiate the bed. Nice towels and linen though and well decorated. The corridors though were a disgrace and needed a lick of paint to say the least. We arrived at about 7pm, frustrated after the cancellation of our flight. This was exacerbated by the fact that the restaurant was closed and the only options were sandwiches or a take away pizza delivery. With only one member of staff on duty, he did his best to book in other stranded passengers, with requests for take aways and trying to juggle the bar. I counted a dozen people waiting for his attention. At check in we booked our free shuttle back to the airport in the morning not wanting to miss our replacement flight. In the morning though there was no record of our booking so we had to wait for another to be called. He then took us to the wrong terminal, not asking where we are flying from and then told us it was our fault. Not recommended, but when you're desperate...

« First Best Western Dissapointment ever and we have stayed in quite a few !! »

The room was small and average but ok. This Best Western has no lift we had bike and bags. We asked if we could have a petit breakfast croissant and coffee instead of a buffet breakfast which we wouldn't eat they said no not possible. The only plus was near to the aiport. They are the first hotel including any Best Westerns we have stayed in that has refused us that request! it gets worse we had prearranged with the hotel as they offered a free shuttle to pick us at airport all we had to was phone and had confirmation emails from them to that effect. We phoned they said they didn't know anything about it even when we said we had a name. The guy said he would come himself and to wait we did but guess what no pick up. We had to phone again this time he had a conversation with someone and a taxi was sent. Taxi drivers in France do not like bikes! this was was no exception he was awful straight away he said no bike it won't go in and my husband yes it will and the hotel has sent you (The taxi was what you would describe as a people carrier three rows of seats )My husband pushed the seat down bike went in and the luggage the driver just slammed the door and sat in the car whilst we did all the work. He drove vey fast and jumped out of the car and ran to the hotel reception leaving us to unload everything he was awful!

« Near airport and a place to stay in a push. »

A hotel/motel right out of the 60's in America. Dark halls with old carpet; but, rooms are fine with lots of lighting and a comfortable bed. Little or no amenities. Basic place to stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rate this a C.

« Could use some dusting »

Upon walking into the room it felt like a dungeon, dimly lit, cold, and damp air. There were water/mildew stains on the wall and dusty cobwebs clinging to the fan. It appeared that the room had not been well attended to in some time. I did not exactly feel quite at home in the room. Even though the staff were friendly and helpful and offered various options for dinner and breakfast despite the hotel restaurant being closed on the weekends, my priority is a clean and welcoming room, and I did not sense that at all. I had a much better experience with the Best Western in Bayonne and a Best Western in Rome. This location could use more attention to and better lighting in its rooms.

    « Hotel evaluation »

There is really nothing to be added what we already said above. We do recommend this place to others. The young man on the afternoon/early evening shift was utmost polite, customer oriented and helpful in any way. Keep up the great work.

« Such A Bloody Experience Never Again »

This hotel is the most unpleasant place I've ever been in my life (and I've seen many working for airlines). Sleeping is impossible, room extremely noisy, surrounded by motorway (check on map) you can hear the guy next room peeing, the light of the corridor enters into the room above the door, aircraft taking off 24hours, breakfast ends up at 9:30. But you have a lovely swimming pool to drown yourself after a horrible night. Better sleep in the car if you don't have other options. Good luck!

    « Convenient for airport »

Used for an early departure from BOD. Check in was quick and informative for shuttle etc. Used the restaurant for dinner. There was a fair selection of burgers as well as a few berrs. So it was burger + beer which is always good and then off to the room. Room was well equipped which included a coffee for the early start. Due to leaving before the shuttle start (at 0500) it was a 5 min taxi to the airport. Just be aware than not much is open in the airport before 0445. Will use again for the next visit.

    3
    « Clean, Minimal Hotel »

The hotel is only two floors, but there is no elevator, so if like us you have a room on the second floor, you must carry your luggage up. Also, the earliest shuttle from the hotel to the airport leaves at 5 AM. There are several departures from the airport, including ours to Amsterdam to connect with an international flight that leave about 6 AM. The KLM flight to AMS leaves at 6:10 AM. The front desk advised us that we should take a taxi, which costs 10 euro. If you don't mind checking in at the deadline before the flight and/or have no checked bags, you might be willing to wait for the shuttle. The hotel has a restaurant, and offers breakfast for 12 euros, but we were told that the restaurant is closed on the weekend. We were returning our rental car on Sunday and flying out on the 6:10 AM Monday flight. We checked into the hotel and took our luggage to our room before returning the rental car. Since the restaurant was closed, we purchased a sandwich and salad for dinner at the airport and carried them back to the hotel. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the rental car return. There is a paved path most of the way, but crosses from one side to the other of the road. The part near the hotel is not paved, so it would not be easy to roll luggage all the way from the hotel. Hertz does not open until 7:30 AM. The bathroom is well lit, but small. Soap bars and tubes of shampoo/body wash are provided. The bed was comfortable.

    3
    « Poor WiFi »

We stayed at this hotel because we needed to fly out from Bordeaux airport very early in the morning. The hotel is clean and everything seems to be in order, but nothing special which would make me to return. I have to mention that the WiFi was very very slow.

    5
« Convenient and above expectations »

Booked this hotel to stay at the night before flying back to the UK. Chosen because we knew the brand and it was the cheapest. Couldn't have been more pleased. Adjoining single room for our son (separated from our room by a curtain). Room had an enclosed sun terrace. Huge super king size bed. On site restaurant with a reasonable menu, friendly staff. Reception staff very helpful, recommended that we settle our room the night before as we were leaving at a peak time in the morning that could be really busy. We were offered the free Wi-Fi codes, offered the complimentary shuttle to the airport. Nothing was too much trouble.

    3
    « Comfortable and convenient »

Good location for the airport - staff are helpful and the rooms are clean. The hotel is good value in a good location - not much else to be said - except breakfast is included and is fine. Avoid Room 10 - you get to listen to everyone walking up the stairs - wi fi is a poor.

    4
    « Meeting family »

Good for an overnight stay for airport. Easy access to airport and staff very helpful. Room was small but very comfortable bed. The only down side was that the restaurant is not open at weekends so the only food available was a bar snack, which was not brilliant.

    « Efficient »

Airport hotels are a necessary evil , but this one delivers a very well laid out room which was clean , quiet and comfortable. Please though, get your airport transfer service better organised ! I walked at 11pm , could not find the place until I had to pay a taxi to take me there

« Convenient hotel located by Bordeaux Airport »

Stayed here for one night, as we had an early flight out of Bordeaux back to Spain. Clean hotel, comfortable beds, decent restaurant. Very reasonable price. From here to the Merignac airport, in a car, it only takes 3 minutes. There is a shuttle available, in the event that you don't have a car. The hotel has an outdoor pool, but it was too cold for us (late September). I would stay here again only as a stopover; Bordeaux is too beautiful a region to stay in a chain hotel. For what it is worth, a nice place.

    3
« Good location; feels old and needs some updating »

As it is a three star hotel, then i guess it is 'fine'; but it is not a hotel i woudl choose to stay at again. It served its purpose well for us. Safe parking and a reasonable room, but it feels like a 1980's hotel in some areas. Nice helpful staff. €109 for a room seemed pricey.

    5
    « Great for kids »

We needed a place to stay before an early flight. This hotel was very clean, newly refurbished, all done in the style of Route 66 which the kids enjoyed. It has a swimming pool and a 1950s diner. There are nice, clean toys and books in reception for the kids to look at while we checked in. The kids were given a great little gift bag with colouring pencils and a little cake a juice which was fantastic when heading to the airport at 4 in the morning. We were given adjoining rooms with no fuss and a taxi was booked and came on time. Free fast wifi in all rooms. The staff were really helpful and friendly.

    4
    « Nice and easy »

A stop over before or after a flight in this simple but nice hotel with a very nice restaurant. Staff is helpful and prices are correct. Very near the airport and good schtle service to the airport. We'll use it for our stop over

    4
« Very comfortable, conveniently located »

This fine hotel is very conveniently located 900 meters from entrances to the airport terminals. It is easily accessible on foot, just outside the main parking at the airport. I would advice anyone who intends to walk to get him/herself acquainted with the local area in advance. Otherwise, finding the way might get a little cumbersome. Person at the check-in desk was very kind and helpful, and the room as comfortable as in some more luxurious hotel. However, wi-fi connection, which is free, was very bad, virtually impossible to use. Nevertheless, I consider my stay there a very pleasant experience. The price was also very attractive in comparison with other similar establishments.

    3
« beware the closed restaurant »

Very handy for the long term car park 2 minutes away. Restaurant closed from friday lunch until monday lunch. Not so good when you arrive friday evening for an early flight saturday am. Rooms small but adequate and clean. Ample parking and simple check in / out. Great rates available on line. Really good one night stopover.

« Just OK, but horrible internet. »

I arrived at Bordeaux Airport in the evening, and on their website it said it's possible to walk from the arrival terminal to the hotel, only 300m. Except there are only roads, no pavement. I had to call them, they told me to take the bus and get off first stop. The bus driver said it was very dangerous, so he left me off a bit further, but i still had to walk on the road, no pavement, at night, what a horrible experience. There are barely any signs, you don't know where you're going... Finally i arrived. The room is nice, but no air conditioning. The fan on the wall is useless, it doesnt blow any air. Completely useless. The internet is horrible. It's unstable, and a real pain to get connected to the network. If it doesnt work, try typing 1.1.1.1 in browser. After a lot of frustration to get youtube video working, i gave up because their internet is hopeless, you can barely read emails. I simply used my phone's 4G. I really dislike having to use 4G in a hotel, it makes no sense. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you use internet. Oh and there is no lift, only stairs. It's an american-style hotel, the only good thing I saw is that there are pin-up girls everywhere on the walls.

    4
« reasonable price, great location »

close to the tram stop and literally next to the station, we found this Best Western easily. It had more personality than I expected from a chain hotel, with charming marble winding staircase. The girl on the front desk spoke good english, and breakfast was a good buffet of pastries, charcuterie etc. Only small gripe was our room did get quite hot, given it was summer in south of france. Would stay again

    4
« Great value for money »

Stayed here using my Avios points to pay for the overnight stay. We added breakfast (which was a substantial Continental type) and also had a Club sandwich the night before which was very substantial too. The room was modest in size but perfectly adequate and very clean. TV, hairdryer, shower (en-suite), tea and coffee in room too. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Huge bed - a bit firm for my liking but OK. Crisp white sheets thought. There is a small bar and a dining room but the dining room was not open in the evening on the Saturday night we stayed. The theme is very much Route 66 and quite brightly coloured! Not for everyone but we thought it was quite quaint! We booked in here because we needed to flight out the next day so perfect for that purpose.

    « Convenient, Clean, Friendly »

A great hotel for a one night stay before an early morning flight. We were very warmly greeted at reception. Rooms clean, bed comfortable. The receptionist kindly ordered a pizza for us to be delivered for dinner. Breakfast was better than others we have had and staff were once again very friendly and helpful. We recommend this hotel as it is quiet, clean, comfortable and they have a free shuttle bus to the airport!

    3
« OK for an overnight stay »

For late arrivals at Merignac Airport this Best Western Hotel is convenient and cheap, but it is only a stepping stone before going further into Aquitaine. Although visible from the road, finding the entrance in the dark is not easy. Whole place is in American diner style with very bright colours, but a diner that stops serving food at an unhelpfully early hour so I cannot comment on the standard of the food. Self-service buffet breakfast seemed expensive at €12, but turned out to be in line with other hotels. Bedroom was clean and had all facilities, except space.

    2
    « Route 66 Quality »

This is a tired hotel that would correctly priced at $40 in the U.S. The rooms are impossibly small. We could hear our neighbor's cell phone ring and join into his conversation if we had wanted to. The highway noise, imitation 1950's decor and instant coffee packet complete the sad similarity to a roadside motel whose owner quit trying decades ago. At 92 euros breakfast wasn't even included.

    4
« Superb one night airport stay »

Great ..good beds, clean, nice shower , room size good enough for overnight stay and good food in the american restaurant ..wonderful huge salad which my husband and I shared before indulging in the beautifully cooked ribs and a burger all cooked in front of you

« Clean, Silly Rooms, Amazing Staff »

I'm gonna be honest: I love Best Westerns. I love them because they have a fairly consistent standard both in North America and in Europe, and all for a decent price. Obviously you get what you pay for, and it's nothing fancy or amazing, but I don't personally require that as I'm often in a hotel for 10 hours max. So this is why my boyfriend and I stay at them if we can. If this isn't your kind of travelling, then perhaps take this review with a grain of salt. Not everyone may be impressed by this. So this one did not disappoint. I actually find it strange that so few people have commented on the craziness of the decor of this place though. It's hilarious being Route 66 themed and all, and had kind of race track stuff. It was so silly, fun, and ridiculous. I bet kids would love it come to think of it. The room was lime green(very important), small, but clean, and thankfully had a hairdryer (something I had to struggle with a lack of on our European road trip). It was a completely smoke free hotel which we appreciated, but for smokers out there, they have doors that lead directly outside so you can smoke out right in front of your room. Now when in Bordeaux you gotta be a wine tourist, right? My boyfriend went out at like 11pm to ask if he could buy a bottle of wine since they have a bar right when you come in the entrance. He had one of the best customer service experiences ever. The man was so cheerful and helpful, opening the bottle for us and handing us wine glasses. We slept well and enjoyed our night there. Plus it was very close to highways so it was easy for us to drive out of the city in the morning.

« 1 night stop to catch early flight »

Handy hotel stop to catch early flight out of Bordeaux. Within short walking distance if hand luggage only, and free shuttle service operates from 5AM onward. The hotel has a small dining /breakfast are which I did not use due to arrival and departure time; however it seems well laid out.

    4
    « route 66 »

This is probably the most difficult review I have written; first impressions were very bad, but in the end I can't complain: I had chosen the hotel for its location (300m = 1000 feet) from the airport. With a free shuttle (upon reservation). I had returned my rental car and it being late, thought I'd walk the 300 meters to the hotel. Not only were there no indications how to get there, so I had to walk, with suitcase and computer bag quite more than 300m to find the rather hidden ! entrance. Got there at 9pm. Reception staff very friendly; but what struck me was the decoration: all around the theme of Route 66 (which for me brought much nostalgia, having done the route in 1966!) but the deco still felt kind of out of place here. Then I am told the restaurant will close at 9.30p m. And the printer did not work, I'd get the invoice by email. (which I did today). The corridor to my room looked sinister, the decoration red black and white, almost like a prison corridor. My room then very big, clearly a wheel chair accessible room, even the shower was wheel chair accessible (not that I needed or requested it). Are all rooms like this? Low ceiling, metal cupboard that did not open; very tiny corner table with tea/coffee set (nice), but hardly room for putting down a computer. Free wifi that worked fine; All usual amenities. Still, the interior architecture and decoration felt bizarre; ok for one night (had to get up at 4.30 to catch my plane). The menu in the restaurant: 10 different salads, and 4 kinds of "burger", plus some dessert. That's it. Staff friendly, but I got my burger just before 9.30, and newcomers were turned away. It felt like a truckstop in the middle of Oklahoma (which I guess was the idea with this deco). But at Bordeaux Airport??? The "shuttle", reserved for 5 am, turned out to be a taxi, ordered (and paid for) by the hotel. FIne, no problem. So, after the first really unpleasant impressions (getting there, strange "atmosphere"), I must admit, all I needed was supplied: bed, food, beer, wifi, shuttle. No real complaints then. A bit pricey though, altogether... THe hotel has a nice looking outdoor SWIMMING POOL! I cannot image who would use this hotel for a stay long enough to go swimming there, but maybe after a whole day in the vineyards a dip is welcome?

    « Great Hotel »

I booked this hotel over the phone for myself and 3 friends, very last minute, we were supposed to be camping, but the heavens opened up and we thought sod that, let's get a hotel, we got 2 twin rooms, at a great price, the rooms were a decent size, very clean and had comfortable beds, the bathroom was also very clean, and the shower was absolutely amazing. we also had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, we all opted for the burger and chips, for dinner, we were not disappointed, they tasted fantastic and were huge. the breakfast was also very nice, it was a buffet type spread, with a very good selection of items. the coffee was fantastic. all in all it was a very pleasant stay, i would definitely stay there again, if i'm ever in the area again.

    2
« An airport hotel without a lift »

The hotel is really convenient for the airport but most travellers have luggage and there is no lift. Unless you are feeling very strong this hotel is not a good idea. However the rooms are very clean and there is tea making facilities and good free wifi. There is no air conditioning but we had an electric fan on the wall. There is good parking and an outdoor pool. The beds and bedding are adequate for a one night stay . There is an onsite eatery which is very average or poor by French standards . The only reason to stay here is convenience if you have a really early flight and it's cheap enough, if not spend as much time as you can in beautiful Bordeaux.

    5
« Not your typical Best Western! In a good way! »

We were arriving at 2:30am into Bordeaux Airport so wanted the closest possible option. Didn't need more than a comfy bed, but got a friendly smile as we wandered in around 3am. The staff was friendly in the morning, too, at a very generous (if somewhat typical) breakfast buffet. Good teas. Plus, the fun and somewhat playful decor made it feel like more than a lame airport hotel. The rooms are very small, but very clean and neat. For the price and location close to the airport, it was much better than expected. Also, super quiet! Surprise!

    « To be avoided »

We booked into this airport hotel as we had an early flight the next day. We were looking for convenience, expected a no frills hotel that nonetheless respected the Best Western brand standard. Sadly, our experience was quite poor. When we checked into the hotel we were told our rooms were on the first floor which under normal circumstances is not an issue unless the hotel has no elevator! We had been travelling for almost two weeks, had large bags and did not want to deal with luggage and stairs - thankfully the hotel was able to accommodate us and provide 2 rooms on the ground floor. So far so good. Once we entered our rooms we noticed odd fan contraptions screwed into the walls. Yikes! No air conditioning in a room that has no windows other than a patio door which we could not leave open during the night for security reasons. Lastly, I found dirty glasses next to the bed and my daughters found a dirty towel in their bathroom. Strike 3. Folks, do yourselves a favour and do not stay at this hotel. There are many other hotels around the airport so choice is not an issue.

    4
« Fine for one night »

I stayed here with my dad before coming back from france. Hotel was fine but quite basic. The rooms have a massive fan on the wall which is very loud while running but welcome on the humid night. It also covered the noise of people upstairs. If i was to stay again i would ask for an upstairs room as the ceilings are pretty thin. The bed was big but, as is often found in hotels, was 2 singles pushed together rather than a king size. This makes it uncomfortable when sleeping alone. Breakfast was ok, usual continental but with the addition of some rubber sausages and scrambled eggs. Quite nice nespresso coffee machine as well as filter coffee. Had a drink before we went to bed and sat outside near the pool (which we didn't use but seemed very clean and well kept). Overall i would say this hotel is pretty good for one night at this cost and i probably would stay here again if i was passing through.

    3
« A little disappointed, and feeling a bit fooled »

Had to spend one night at the last minute and thought to get average standards. The room was okeyish, according to standard you would expect, tired carpet on the floor with spots giving a not clean sensation. Bathroom average. 16 euros for breakfast is far too much to be expected, but there is a kettle and good quality tea and coffee in the room. Staff oddly trained, we asked if the room was nice, they said it was the one they liked best... On opening the curtains we had a fantastic view on some backyard pipes... Next time I will check first at the near by Best Western or Holiday Inn!

    5
    « terrific Option »

This Best Western is about five minutes from the airport and is great for early departures. Additionally the staff is fantastic and the restaurant is supreme. there is a very short walk to the bus stop which can take you to downtown Bordeaux for $1.50 a person and is a fantastic option to a $100.00 Euro taxi.
