Best Western Inn of McAlester

We were passing through on our way to Texas. The room was comfortable and clean. The entire facility was nicely maintained and the desk attendant was friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable for the area. We definitely would recommend it.

If your looking for a hotel this is the one. I'm very picky about where I stay and this hotel was better than I expected. Clean rooms and comfy bed. I will definitely book again when I come to visit my family.

Rooms have gone downhill. We have stayed there in previous years and were pleased. This stay, the paint in our was in bad shape as was the carpeting. The a/c unit made constant noise and the bathroom fan was worse. We will not be returning.

It seems hotels disappoint more than satisfy these days. Not so for this hotel. What a relief to finally have professional and friendly staff who made us feel valued. The property was well-kept and well-lit. The room was clean and spacious. Everything worked as it should. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The towels were a good quality. The refrigerator/freezer was top notch and served our needs well. The "free pet" policy was a huge plus! We will definitely stay here again.

After fifteen days on the road from Houston to Washington, DC, I've had plenty of stayovers. Best Western Inn in McAlester was one of the most pleasant. The staff was helpful, rooms clean and breakfast great.

The hotel was clean but very dated and old. Dingy. Needs a huge all over remodel. The staff was great. The breakfast was very good. Better than the usual hotel breakfast. But the rooms were very old looking.

Very easy access and a clean and comfortable stay with a great restaurant in the front parking lot. It was very cold outside the night we where there and we were as snug as if we where at home. and I might add that the water pressure in the showers were GREAT.

Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Breakfast was very simple cereal and some frozen breakfast items you can heat in the micro. No real hot food prepared. Room was clean and AC worked well. No troubles.

The carpet in this room was so filthy we never took our shoes off! We had reserved two nights but left early in the morning after the first night. The TV did not work and the room had an odor due to the smelly carpet. There were visible stains in excess of 20 or more all over the room with giant spills clearly visible that had never been cleaned up. Upon trying to call housekeeping or front desk about issues, there is a constant busy signal during our entire less than 24 hours stay. When we walk down no one was at the front desk. We checked in at 3:00 p.m. and left by 6:00 a.m. the next morning and then someone was at the front desk but when we explained why we couldn't stay due to the unhealthy condition of the carpet they very unsympathetically told us they were still charging us for our next night even though we wouldn't be there. I do realize hotels have policies but when the conditions are so bad you cannot stay in there because it is unhealthy, I believe they should have refunded us for that second night. Instead we got a very sarcastic "Have a great day" as we walked out the door. All of this was very upsetting to both of us and flat out ruined our vacation.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and clean. The entire facility was nicely maintained. The price was reasonable for the area. We definitely would recommend it. We were not familiar with the area, and we took a chance. We were glad we did.

My special request was met, the room was clean and up to date.. Great water pressure and new bed and remote control for the air conditioner!! This is a walk out room so parking in front of my room made loading the car so quick and easy.

We use this hotel for a night stay over while traveling to Galveston . It is located just off the main North South road going through town with easy access. The staff has no personality, the room had badly stained carpet and stains on the lamp shades. Dust along the base along the wall and the smell was horrible. There was also no breakfast served. Don't stay at this hotel.

Very nice at the time we were here. we were very tired and really smelled like camp fire. Very nice to get a good shower and sleep. We registered on line which was easy and check in went very well. check out went very well too. We only stayed one night but it was a well rested rested night.

Other than a few minor inconveniences such as intermittent hot water and issues with the refrigerator, my stay was enjoyable. The beds seemed clean which is always my main concern. The receptionists were also very friendly.

If you like being able to park near your door where you can see your automobile and have quick access but still have a clean comfortable hotel this is the place for you. The pool was centrally located in the center of the horse-shoe parking area and the water was clean and clear and very refreshing in the 100 degree weather. We very much enjoyed the staff who were friendly and helpful and changed our room to non-smoking because we had accidentally reserved a smoking room (yes they still have such a thing). Our room DID NOT smell like smoke and was very clean and comfortable. The only complaint was the hot water was less than hot during the evening presumably due to too many guest using at same time but it caught up later. Breakfast was a full spread in the lobby with prepackaged options and minus the community buffet.

The hotel was clean and pleasant. The front desk staff were very helpful and nice. The toilet did not work so I was moved to another room but only to find that the toilet also was broken. I did not feel like moving so I took lid off and manually lifted plunger to flush. The coffee pot was broken also. The room was clean and comfortable.

The stay was brief and horrific. First of all they had no way to put us on the first floor even though I had told them my wife's knees were very bad and stairs are very difficult. Also there was no place to sit outside as they had closed the pool due to damage but no provision to slowing just sunning. Finally they worst was there was mold all over the tub and shower and the front desk person when informed of this said " not my problem I don't clean them" . There was no attempt at having the problem corrected so we packed up and left. Worst experience at a motel ever.

We booked this stay as a stop-over on a long road trip. I had low expectations when we drove up - lots of semi trucks in the parking lot, and a run-down looking diner next door. The check-in process was quick, and the staff very friendly. However, when we got to our room I was thankful I had brought my Lysol spray. The room was dark, and the furnishing dated but we were not expecting. a 5-star hotel. HOWEVER - the chair and hassock in the room were very stained and dirty. I did not feel comfortable even after I'd sprayed them with Lysol. I asked the front desk for a sheet, and they offered me a blanket to cover the chair with. The room was much more quiet than I expected, and the bed very comfortable. And the diner food was delicious. Not sure we'd stay again, however.

A modest property that did not disappoint. Standard king room was well appointed. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Quiet neighbors, good location. Great little restaurant across the parking lot with good food and friendly people.

This is a terrific motel, with great highway access to McAlester. It's a great value, with very clean rooms, comfortable beds, a great shower and a friendly staff. It doesn't get much better at this price!

Heater remote did not work, television remote was iffy, channel guide would have been nice, beverage machine did not work, neglected to tell us a boil order was in effect for water ang tub/shower grout badly needed to be redone or deep cleaned.

we were in room 106 and there was mold in the bathroom very bad. Asked to be relocated which they did they were not aware of any problems. Mattress was sunk in middle and the hot water took forever 15 min longer to get warm. Otherwise this place is a nice location. The restaurant Marilyns is the bomb Best place in the area to eat. We stay here all the time but management needs to be doubling checking the cleaning processes.

Best Western has a great location, excellent for 18 wheelers, very good restaurant next door (ate breakfast and lunch there), easy access to rooms. We look forward to staying here again next time we're in town.

Front desk service was exceptional, room was warm when I went into the room (it was a cold night) and clean, good dining was nearby (small mom & pop restaurant with yummy food), but the mattress was the old coil type that you could feel all night long.

We stayed here for a night, as we were passing through the area. We were unfamiliar with the area, but chose this hotel to stop at and we were pleased with our decision. Employees were polite & helpful, we had a good stay, & for price & comfort, we couldn't have asked for more. The only negative we experienced was the exhaust fan in our bathroom wasn't functioning. This hotel is a good stay for the price. The staff (Sherrie) was very friendly, greeted us warmly, and was very helpful with our needs (my husband has mobility issues). The room was clean and comfortable, but outdated. The furniture was old and worn, but the bed was very comfortable. Curtains hanging at the window were shredded. Saw the same in other windows at the hotel. Overall, a good stay and we would stay there again.

The whole hotel is dated the curtains torn & an odor to the furniture & room over all... we left our shoes on for fear our feet would become dirty... Waited for 1-2 minutes facing girls at front desk while they completed their personal conversation then we were left with the impression we inconvenienced the employees by asking for stuff like toilet paper ... (there was a partial roll of toilet paper with no extra rolls)... there was no pen or paper like most rooms have

Other than some minor issues with lighting and cleanliness, I was very happy with my stay and I will happily stay here again. The price was very competitive and overall the cleanliness and room amenities met or exceeded my expectations.

this isn't even a good western let alone a best western, nothing really wrong just old and needing upgrading, but for $58 acceptable, was greeted as a rewards member which surprised me, but after that was totally indifferent, check others for deals before staying here

Stayed there during the pandemic July 2020. Rooms do not seem to be sanitized. I wiped off the light switch with a Clorox wipe and the result was not good. If you are on a budget maybe you need to stay here as it is ok. That said for a bit more you can get nicer accommodations up the road. Be aware there are a lot of construction workers staying here on a regular basis. During COVID breakfast is a granola bar and fruit and a muffin in a bag. They are doing what they can during COVID. Pool is closed during COVID which is a good idea. Not really sure how this hotel gets one of the best ratings in Mcalister. Makes me wonder.

Whenever we go through McAlester we stay at the Best Western. It is clean, comfortable, and the price is great. The staff is always friendly and they are always happy to allow our little dog stay with us in the room without fuss.

I stay here at best western when ever possible... am in McAllister Oklahoma frequently an am always satisfied with lodging and staff... only thing I would like added to facility is a laundromat but there's one within walking distance so it's not a problem

Best motel I have ever stayed at , there was absolutely nothing even out of place. The big name high price motels an hotels could learn a lot from from this motel on how to run an staff a business . Will be back

There always is a good mood going on the staff treat you like family let you know if there's anything you need dont hesitate to ask. Marty is a such a sweetheart she's so nice always greets you with a smile. I can't remember the other ladies name but she is also very nice one of my favorite places to stay.

My wife and I were on our way to Missouri and this was a good stop for us to get a shower and good nights rest before continuing our journey . Would do it agian on our next trip along this route . This was a good half way stop for us .

Front desk man was great and knowledgeable. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable! One of the best nights sleep I have had in a long time. We will stay here again on our next girls fishing trip.

Clean hotel, friendly staff, comfortable beds, quiet, other restaurants not far. A couple shops down the street. Walmart is across town.good ma and pa restaurant across the parking lot. I stay everytime I am in town.

The room and breakfast were great, if you don't mind highway noise or bring earplugs it's a fantastic stay! There are several places to eat within walking distance, and the hotel staff are all very friendly. A few outlets in the room were loose, but there are enough available that it's not a problem.

Nice clean cozy Best Western with friendly staff . The grounds are clean and very pretty. The pool is clean neat and good relief on a hot summer Oklahoma day, . Several restaurants in the area to eat. A cozy home cooled meals place on the property. Movie Theater just down the street. Bowling Alley 2 blocks away, skate rink next door , Great place for your one night get away or a longer stay.

The rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Pool area is also very nice and the restaurant that shares the parking lot is excellent! It is a small restaurant with excellent service and food. I will stay here again in the future.

Fast friendly people always greeted me with a smile, offered Express check out, Room was clean and fresh. I believe the lady who answered the phone was vicky she is so pleasant to talk to,and I have met the owners of the bestwestern and they are soo awesome

If you love smoke you will love this place. Stayed here for 5 minutes and I thought I was dying while breathing. Did Oklahoma not get the memo....second hand smoke KILLS. This hotel caters to the smokers delight. So if you don't care about your health you should stay here.

Located just off the US 69 expressway, this property is easy to get in and out of. There is a gravel parking area in front of the hotel which can accommodate 5-6 semis/trailers. Property is older but extremely well maintained - everything in my room worked with no problem. Very large flat screen TVs with a nice satellite cable system. Fast reliable Wi-Fi internet. Nice little small town diner adjacent to the hotel that has very reasonable prices and large portions. Very friendly front desk staff. Definitely a winner!

The check in was fast and simple. The room was well decorated. The bed was very comfortable with good quality sheets. The staff was fast and courteous. When I told them that there was a problem with the coffee maker, they promptly solved the problem. I was surprised at the price of the room. It was money well spent.

It's always clean, really nice people that work there,, the tales always smells good there .. the breakfast is always good.. the parking is good there too .. I try to stay as much as I can .. sleep really good there !!!

Excellent clean hotel at a reasonable price. The facility appears to have been recently rennovated and is the courtyard around the pool with outside doors (not my favorite but OK) design. We had an efficient, friendly check-in. Although our room is old looking, it is clean and free of little critters. The breakfast is adequate.

Absolutely amazing staff, some of the friendliest. From the front desk, to the owners, to the house keepers. Each and every single person had a smile, and greeted you. The rooms were cozy, and up to date. Would most definitely recommend this hotel to everyone!!!

Stayed here on a weekday night with 2 small dogs. Room was very comfortable, good sleeping bed, no pet fee, internet was ok. Bathroom was showing its age and not the cleanest. Breakfast was typical, not very good. Overall, I'd stay here again.

The motel was clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and we were so glad we chose this motel. It seems to be new or at least well kept. The free breakfast had a good select and was good as well. Will stay there again when traveling through.

The weather got really bad, so we had to stop our journey. Our room was on the first floor and we were able to back into our parking spot just feet away from our door. This is one of those older type motels where all the rooms have entrances from the outside. It was definitely a benefit in this scenario. Our room was comfortable and clean.

Stayed here for 1 night based on previous reviews. I wasn't disappointed. The staff was friendly, the hotel was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was decent. What more could you want? I was skeptical about the beds when we first arrived, but to my surprise they were more comfortable than expected and I slept well. I have a bad back and fibromyalgia and beds when traveling can be an issue for me. Breakfast was standard hotel fare. Fruit, muffins, juice, coffee, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, yogurt, etc. I was pleased to find almond milk in the fridge since I don't drink diary. I wished they had flavored creamer options for the coffee, but no biggie. I usually bring my own travel creamer but I forgot this trip. I also highly recommend Captain John's Seafood across the highway. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Getting in and out of the hotel can be a little tricky, especially if you have to cross the highway.

Upstairs guest made so much noises that it was after midnight before I finally was able to go to sleep. Then the next morning around 9 I received a call from the front desk to see if I had left yet. At that I was getting ready to go when I received another call from the front desk to see if I had left and I responded check out is at noon. Then as I'm walking out the door the phone starts ringing I didn't answer it but I'm sure it was the fronto desk. Terrible visit

First impression was nice curb appeal nice front desk clerk was very friendly and nice...breakfast was good rooms were nice and clean the only thing is the bed was a little to firm but other then that I'd definitely stay here again

Great stopover for a one-night stay on our way to Branson. Very clean and fresh. I'm a nit-picky person, but didn't find one single thing that bothered me. Would definitely stay again. Breakfast was decent, too.

Check in was a breeze, the room was clean and well kept, bed comfortable, and it was quiet. Breakfast was just so-so, but standard for this type of accommodation. With the AARP rate, I felt we got good value for money, and I would stay here again.

This is our choice each time we travel through town. Very clean. Super friendly Great value. Good breakfast bar. Management needs to check all the lamps . Two lamps in our room didn't work. Love the updated showers. Would suggest updating lamps that have AC plugs in base for cell charger

Nice hotel and clean large rooms. Only problem is breakfast lady “Rita” bashes other employees to other employees in front of hotel guest. Many items we low or empty. She needs to work more and talk less. Observed this on more than occasion.

My spouse and I visited the hotel for a night and we were checked in by Lisa. She was very friendly and accommodating, she made sure to tell us about all amenities and their breakfast options. Overall our experience with them was wonderful, we did not have a single complaint. The rooms were very clean and well stocked, also a good amount of pillows (which is important to me). The breakfast was a waffle bar with a variety of toppings, sausage, eggs and biscuits and gravy. Along with pastries, cereals, yogurts, juices and coffee. If we ever need a hotel again we will definitely be back!

Handicap room wasn't level to roll in front door. One inside the room was very very nice. Nice cool a/c, great space for a wheelchair. Very convenient location. We have stayed here 3 times now. It is definitely our choice to stay when in McAlester.

How is this motel the best in McAlester? I wish there were a rating between “poor” and “average”. This establishment is okay if you're not expecting much. The price is good, and the desk clerk and breakfast person are really great. The pool looks clean and well cared for, and our room was pretty clean. The beds were fairly comfortable, and the room was quiet enough. I had no trouble sleeping. Best of all, four bath towels! Yay! There's plenty of easy parking, and restaurants within walking distance. Those were the positives. Now for the rest. This is an old motel, with doors opening to the outside (and our door was almost impossible to get unstuck). The room had a musty odor, as many older motels do. We were on the second floor, which is only accessible by steep, narrow stairs. I almost took a tumble from the top while lugging up my suitcase. The tv was a nightmare. Not only was the the sound bad, the volume kept going up and down. Breakfast was standard BW, reconstituted eggs, biscuits, gravy, waffles, etc. The breakfast area is exceptionally small, and was very crowded. If you want an economical place to stay, and you're not picky, this place will do. I'll be looking for a better.

The BestWestern Inn at McAlester Oklahoma is our “ go to” hotel we often go to Illinois and it's the halfway point and we can always count on a clean, comfortable, and quite night's sleep there with very friendly staff

Decor is my favorite...comfy beds ...never want to leave. LISA at the front desk is WONDERMOUS (fabulous + Wonderful)went out of her way to meet my needs..looking forward to spending entire week here next week.

Wonderful service at the desk, the ladies know me and have a room ready when I see them. Fresh cookies was a nice little treat when you have been working all day and so tired. They don't make the check in process so bad when you have a fresh cookie. The rooms are always clean and fresh.

Excellent stay for the price. If you don't have your own transportation you'll have only one option for dining in walking distance. Other than that you may have to order for delivery. Very quiet hotel.

You couldn't find a better place to stay in McAlester, OK. The front desk recognized us from our first visit the week before and saved us a first floor room because I have a disability. Everything was extremely clean and organized. Breakfast had a large variety and was very good. Will be staying there this summer when we make a trip home for a wedding.

Was traveling the weekend after Thanksgiving, and just needed a place to get a few hours of sleep. Since it was just after the holiday, I was happily surprised to get a great price when I called the hotel. My second nice surprise was how warmly we were welcomed by Lisa when we arrived very late that night. If you want luxury or a mint on your pillow, keep looking, but if you want a fair-priced, clean and comfortable room then consider the Best Western in McAlester. The room we stayed in was showing some wear, but I was only looking for clean and comfortable for this stay. The breakfast is typical of what you find at all the hotel chains, like a Holiday Inn Express or a Hampton Inn. Just like the nice greeting we received at check-in, the person working in the breakfast area (I believe her name was Billy) treated us very well.

Pillow-top mattresses melt your stress away, wide variety of TV channels, ample parking especially for semi-trucks, HOT breakfast offered and not just with waffles, convenient location within walking distance of many restaurants, a casino, and the local movie theater. Spacious rooms, high speed internet, friendly staff. Small outdoor pool (seasonal). Having purchased our reservation with a CLC card [ checkinncard.com] we received a nice discount on our room.

Old but clean . Quiet hotel. Bed was very comfortable. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Needs an update on furniture. Breakfast was good. Only complaint is Wi-Fi. It needs updating. Only worked some of the time.

Certainly not the most luxurious, but serviceable for a night or two. A good value for the money spent. It was not very crowded, which was nice. Breakfast was decent, but not the best. It's an older motel, but rooms appear to have been fairly recently updated.

Very nice friendly hotel. Easy to get to. Bed was very comfortable and good hot water and pressure. Will stay again when traveling in that area. There is a restaurant on property that serve home cook meals. Very reasonable price, very good server, food was very good and cook the way we like.

We have stayed at this Best Western several times and will continue to whenever we are in the area. The exterior and interior of the hotel are always clean and tidy. The staff is very helpful and friendly and appropriately dressed.

I typically do not like rooms that have outdoor access because of the noise. I became very concerned when we pulled up and seen it was outdoor access rooms, but WOW were we surprised. This had to be one of the cleanest and quietest and cleanest places we have ever stayed. McAlester seemed to be a very nice safe area as well. We did not do anything in town; however, driving through and staying in the town, it seemed very nice. The front staff was one of the friendliest we have found, she was fantastic, unfortunately I do not remember her name. The rooms have all been updated and were very well kept. The breakfast area was a bit small; however, the options that were available on the breakfast menu were good and the food was equally as good. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, it was definitely a diamond in the rough.

We checked in June 1st and checking out 3 months later. The best place I've ever stayed! From the front desk staff to cleaning and maintenance staff, ALL are friendly and hospitable! I'll truly miss them all!!! Rooms were always clean, the big swimming pool was always crystal clear, which I used often!!! Of course, always a hot breakfast that was always fresh and plentiful!!! You would think after a 3 month stay I would have something to complain about but I don't! It was truly a perfect stay! I always felt safe, the other guests were great, no drama ever! The location is also ideal because it's close everything! Whether you're staying one night or 3 months, this is a top notch hotel and I will recommend this place to everyone I know!!!

Traveling from Texas to Georgia and took a scenic route. This wasn't the best hotel I've stayed in but it also wasn't the worst. Just an average place with no special frills. The breakfast was standard for Best Western, must say the biscuits and gravy were awesome.

Very welcoming and accomodating staff. Room was very clean, smelled like a non smoking room should, and bathroom sparkled. Quiet and located a bit back from the highway, they have a nice outdoor pool. The breakfast is much much than you'd expect. These folks care about their place. It shows. Stay there!

Very Accessible and excellent parking, fabulous Diner right next door, very clean Fenced in Pool area. Excellent Internet service. Large screen HD TV, free HBO channels. Very Comfortable bed with 4 overstuffed comfortable pillows. This Best Western Hotel was a blessing after a long days driving, less than two miles off the Interstate (Indian Nation Parkway) McAlester, Oklahoma. Less than 4 miles to US Army Installation Recreation Services (Military ID Required). Great Place, we will stay here next time we are ANYWHERE in the area

My room was very comfortable, the staff were terrific, I slept in a quiet environment, very comfortably, the pool was easily accessible, and the air conditioner was great. Overall, an A+! The hotel was easy to access and not far from many restaurants and a reasonably gas station. What's not to like.

We were traveling north from Dallas to St. Louis, and decided to stop for the night. We saw various hotel signs, and decided to try the Best Western. As we both stay in hotels weekly on business, BW is one of 3 we regularly stay at. This trip however was a personal trip. This hotel was clean, the staff as friendly, and the breakfast was good. We wished we would have had time to enjoy the outdoor pool which looked inviting!

WAs a very friendly place. Well kept never had a problem. Breakfast every morning. The pool was in excellent shape. Easy to get to. Staff was wonderful. Room wasn't so jammed up tight. had room to stretch out and enjoy yourself. Pet friendly.

We needed to find a hotel for our two English bulldogs. Everything from the pool to breakfast area were immaculate. Staff was amazing. Nothing could of been better. I actually thought they had recently been renovated.

We spent one night here while traveling up to Tulsa to pick up our son from college. The front desk staff were very friendly and the lady caring for the breakfast area worked hard keeping the food offerings stocked. The breakfast area is pretty small so you might have a challenge finding seating during busy times if you are a larger family traveling together. Rooms are simple and functional. One negative of having no internal hallway is that dirt tends to get tracked into the room. While I'm sure that housekeeping staff does their best, the bottoms of our socks were pretty dirty after a few minutes of walking in the room. Pack slippers if this bothers you.

The staff are awesome, always so welcoming and will go out of there way to ensure your comfortable. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy..the location is great you have everything close..i love the cookies..

I am a fan of hotels I can drive up to my room. I travel over 120 days a year for work so I do need a great hotels to stay at that I can work from. This hotel had it all. The outside room, a great clean room at a great price and restraints next door. I also want to mention that the staff was great at every level.

I was very pleased with our stay here. Great beds, pillows, TV, WiFi, and water pressure in the shower. We arrived very late, and were given a discount on a suite due to a computer problem. Great customer service is always appreciated!

Room was dirty. Booked room 2 months in advance but request for a ground floor room was not approved. Eggs were inedible by family members who tried them. Pastries were stale on a Saturday morning. Jeremy, the dining room aid, talked at you in a loud voice, knows it all and was obnoxious. Not again!

Decided to stay here based on price plus previous experience in the past couple of years with Best Western Plus. Would never have gone to a Best Western in the 70s thru 90s as they were getting dated and old. They seem to have come out with the next generation of motels and we have been very pleased with the ones we have stayed out recently (especially in Canada). This one in MacAlester was very clean and had great a/c with a remote. Just a stopover from our trip from Missouri back to Texas. Did not want to spend a lot for just a place to sleep and leave. It exceeded my expectations and was very very good price. The King sized bed was very firm and comfortable and the TV was a large flat screen - something that I find essential. Nothing fancy but very nice, considering we are used to Marriott Courtyards and Hampton Inns. Best bang for the buck. Quiet, with no road noise. Nice casino a mile down the road as well. Breakfast was great - eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, cereal, pastry, etc.. We will stop there again on our next trip!.

It was a descent hotel. Did not agree with their rating process but what can you do?. The breakfast guy was great and cared about his customer pleasing. The rooms were clean and it basically suited our needs.

We were extremely pleased with the grounds, location, personnel, breakfast, rooms and we travel quite a bit. This was perfect for us and now we have a new favorite destination. We did not know that McAlester was in middle of a fall festival and most rooms within 100 miles were already booked. Luckily we called Best Western Inn and talked to Lisa. She had a room upstairs. So we hoofed it to the Best Western. and in the meantime, Lisa found us a downstairs room. When we registered, splitting the room costs, etc., Lisa made everything easy. After driving many hours, being tired, cranky, etc., this was such a relief! We walked into our room and gave a big happy sigh. Room was spotless and welcoming! It was such a relief after spending 3 days at War Eagle Festival (which was great) but in less than acceptable accommodations! The next morning had a good, tasty breakfast. All breakfast items were hot, available, no waiting for refills. Best Western caused our fall festival tour to end on a rested and comfortable note! Thank you.

This Best Western property is older, but very clean and everything was in working order. The bed was comfortable, and the HVAC worked properly. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful. This was a stay of one night on our way to another destination. It was a perfect room for this type of stay.

Great place to stay while visiting the town. Lots of places to eat around the area and easy to get too. It was very easy to check in and she was very friendly. I asked for a first floor room and one close to the office when I made my reservations and that is what they gave me. The hotel is 2 floors. The first floor has exterior doors and the second floor has exterior corridor. The room was clean. Beds were very comfortable. Big flat TV. We stayed 2 nights. The hot breakfast is the normal items, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, etc. The person running the breakfast made sure the food was full and hot. There is a place to park big trucks and campers. If I am in this town again I will stay here for sure.

Before booking, you should know that this hotel has exterior corridors. Although the rooms appear to be renovated, my room did not seem clean, including some stray hairs on the sheets. It's also on the outskirts of town, near a truck stop. I would not choose this hotel again.

Group vacation on motorcycles. We stayed at several Best Westerns. This was the best of them all. The staff was kind and very helpful! Loved having warm cookies on arrival :) The rooms were very clean and comfortable! I thought I was at a Best Western Plus, to my surprise it was a regular Best Western. I highly recommend this Best Western. It is very apparent that they care about their visitors! Thank you for a Wonderful Stay!!

We arrived at the hotel late so I did not have time to make a reservation. The room was right on time. The room was none smoking very comfortable. We were passing through. It was a very good stay and a 12 p.m. check-out which was good.

This is my halfway point heading to and from Texas. I look forward to my stay. Staff is always so friendly. Rooms are clean . I can count on a much needed rest. Beds are very comfortable. Pets are welcome at no additional cost and Murphy can run around by the fenced in pool while my granddaughter takes a dip to wind down. Food is centrally located. There is a diner right across the parking lot. Breakfast is included in your stay. Thank you Lisa for always adding my BW rewards for me before I even arrive so I know I get my points. You and your staff are amazing. See you nest week.

We were on our way home from visiting family in Illinois and needed a good night's sleep. I was reading reviews of the hotels and this Best Western had a good rating. We hadn't stayed in a Best Western in a long time, and were pleasantly surprised. This hotel had all new furniture and was very clean. We slept good and enjoyed breakfast the next morning. The front desk was very friendly too. We will stay there again.

Our room was small and clean -had everything you wanted, almost. If you have to dry your hair bring your own hair dryer, theirs was a dud. We were disappointed the pool is closed, nobody mentioned that - actually packed swimsuits. Breakfast is filling and coffee is hot. Maid does a great job.Our TV was possessed, it came on every morning at 6am and it was only static. We restarted it 3-4 times and couldn't get it to stop, weirdness. We had a busy week, and it is centrally located, so OK if you don't want fancy and just want sleep.

Room was clean, nice and the bed was comfortable. Nice amenities and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this Inn without any hesitation. The desk recommended a small restaurant/coffee shop across the parking lot and that was good as well.

Just stayed in this hotel one night but was surprised by the king room and how nice it was. Lobby of the hotel was very nice and the staff were very friendly and welcoming! This room was awesome and the price was right!!. Didn't get a chance to take advantage of the breakfast so I can't help you there, but they do have a warm breakfast from what I heard. I stayed in room 224 and was very happy with the accommodations. Modern and very pleasant!!

If you are going through Mcalister and are looking for somewhere to stay, look no further. The rooms are clean, decent facilities and staff pleasant. The breakfasts are pleasant and there is also free wifi.

Great staff always friendly and helpful, newly remodled and they keep it very clean. Its my go to place in Mcalester best rates and quality in town. I have been coming here for years and I will keep coming. Great for families recreation or business.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 days. It was was really nice and cozy. We enjoyed the fact there were several restaurants around to choose from. .The receptionist, Diana, was extremely helpful and very kind. We will definitely return to this location.

If you are in the area and want a motel this is a good one. Staff is friendly and rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast is an adequate one provided plus there is a restaurant on site. Beds are comfortable.

Great place to stay! Lady at the desk was super awesome! Nice and clean room as well with everything I could possibly need. The lady upfront even offered to match my rates with another hotel I had checked out. So she then said $69.99 I took the deal!

Great clean room and breakfast! I would be sure to stop here on the way to Texas anytime! Biscuits and gravy and waffles were a big hit! Eggs were not as good. Coffee bold as it should be for travelers hitting the road.

A pleasant stay in McAlester. We stayed here over a year ago & it still is a good stay.. Rooms are comfortable, beds good. Nice well maintained breakfast room. As a note, we were here during huge all night thunderstorms & the room was very quiet. Would not have known it was pouring outside. Had no problems here. Would stay here again.

we have used this facility many times enroute to and from austin, texas, and always been satisfied. we prefer the old fashioned motel style where we can park right outside our room without having o traipse through a lobby. also, i can sit on the tailgate of my van and smoke a post drive cigar. now-adays i also am seeking out handicap accessible rooms (use of a walker). this inn fails a bit in that category: the room is pretty crowded with a walker in use and the bathroom is not fully ada-ready; that is no walk in shower. but the staff is always friendly.

My husband, our dog and I arrived on a cold, rainy night - very late at night. Lisa, the front desk clerk, was incredibly accommodating and took care of us right away. The room was AMAZING! Very comfortable bed, fabulous pillows, clean, clean, clean - everything was clean! This is the place to stay when traveling through the area. THANKS to Lisa for her attention and kindness.

I would recommend this to everyone who is passing through and looking for a place to stay! The breakfast was very good with all kinds of treats and such. Also they had biscuits and gravy one of my very favorite meals. The rooms are very nice and you should stay here.

Had an amazing visit! Everything was tidy and clean, the bathroom was very nice, and the over all a great room to stay in. Our host, Lisa, was warm, sweet and welcoming. The breakfast in the morning was also very good... A lovely hotel to stay in, would definitely come again.

1st let me say that if you do not give this place a try you are missing out. I have a construction company which leads me to travel and stay in many Cities and Towns across all of Texas and some in New Mexico and some in Oklahoma. My wife and I took a trip to Mcalester to look around Lake Eufaula. We booked a night at the Candlewood Suites. I am not saying that they were not nice but if the manager couldn't realize which of the employees were not on Meth then they need a visit from their owner. We were going to leave the next evening, however we did not get to visit all that we wanted and so we decided to stay another night. My wife said "ok" but not at Candlewood again. So I pulled into Best Western to check them out. I always ask to see a room before I do anything. This is an older style hotel but you can easily tell they have kept it up to date and it looked really clean. Let me set this up by saying 1st of all I was impressed by the lobby. 2nd Lisa was amazing at accomodating me after asking about the rooms and wanting to see one before I booked one(my wife is handicapped I should add). From there on I was hooked the room was extremely nice and updated to the best of rooms I have stayed, no way I would have went back to Candlewood. Not to mention the rates are very reasonable. We booked and Lisa again made everything so great that we are going back for just a weekend getaway again. The Serta perfect sleeper beds were fantastic and tons of channels. I give everyone my word that if you are travelling thru Mcalester Oklahoma, the Best Western is "THE" place to stay. Not sure who the owners are but if they are smart they will keep Lisa on board because she was awesome and I have stayed and dealt with a great many personnel at Hotels and she is in the tops. Ps. Nice tip the best breakfast in town is right in the parking lot "Marilyns" old time dining experience and home cooking. Was Great too.

This motel was everything the reviews said. We had no problems and stay was quite comfortable in every way. We paid at the beginning of the stay so didn't even have to check out. Internet was good enough to watch Netflix which was not true at many other motels. Very good value.

Excellent stay. The staff working the evening and early morning shifts were very pleasant and professional; Lisa was especially helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The lobby was very attractive and the breakfast area was large, clean and offered a nice selection of hot and cold items. Oklahomans have always seemed a friendly bunch to me, and they can be proud of this example of their hospitality.

The Best Western Inn of McAlester can be seen from and easily accessed from the intersection of US-69 and the George Nigh Expressway. Charli gave us a friendly greeting and told us how to find our room. We had a first floor room accessed directly from the parking lot. It was a pleasant room, clean with complimentary earth tone colors and wall hangings. There was a large closet pole and shelf. A sink counter and mirror were outside of a bathroom that contained the shower and toilet. Furnishings included a TV on top of a large chest, two beds, desk, plenty of lighting. The beds were comfortable and not too high off the floor. The pillows were comfortable. The clock didn't display any numbers, so we asked for a wake-up call and got it promptly. We mentioned the clock when checking out. Breakfast included eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, cereal, waffles, juice, coffee, milk. The breakfast attendant was a very gracious lady.

Lisa graciously found us a room when we arrived w no reservation. Squeaky clean, confortable bed, quiet, and a great diner next door. HIghly recommend this top notch hotel with and accomodating staff.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We came in late but our room was there waiting. Staff was very nice and helpful. We have stayed there for the last four years to attend a car event in the area. Brought four other couples with us this year. Will stay again next year, I'm sure.

Our son attends school in Arkansas, and McAlester is a natural stopping point on for us on the way to Fayetteville. We first stayed at this hotel on a very cold February night. Since the car heater wasn't working very well, we were cold and tired and stopped at the first place we could find. When we checked in though, we found Lisa behind the counter--very professional, friendly, and helpful. That first experience was so pleasant that we plan to stay at this hotel on a regular basis. We've stayed there a few times since that first night and found the service consistent with all the employees, not just Lisa. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, the internet works well, and the breakfast is good. If, like us, you are tired of cheap motels that leave the light on for you or have lobbies that reek of incense, then this is the place for you.

I organize a weekend getaway for a regional car club annually to see the National Scenic Byway, and we have enjoyed staying at the Best Western for four years straight now. The management is wonderful and accommodating, the grounds are always well kept, the rooms are always clean, comfortable, and an excellent value. The Saab Club of Oklahoma has found a home away from home and we will continue to visit this establishment every time we come to the area.

Great staff, Great rooms and breakfast. Easy check-in and out. The Best over all Motel in Oklahoma! Plenty of restaurants near by and shopping. Easy to find. Very quite stay. I love the beds. The rooms were very clean.

If you are looking for a place to stop for the night and you are passing McAlester, OK, this is a wonderful option. I make a point of stopping here every trip between IL and TX. The proprietor, Lisa, is a treat to interact with. She is always pleasant and makes sure you know she is available to make your stay a good one. Something that is important to me is that they have compostable heavy duty paper plates, bowls, and beverage cups.

We've stayed in a lot of hotels in this price range, this was by far the best for the value! Room was updated with nice tile work throughout the bath. Breakfast was good. Lisa at the desk was very helpful and accommodating, even helped us book a room in another Best Western in another town. We will come back.

Older motel, very clean. Nice decor, most importantly, comfy bed. Didn't get complimentary shampoo, lotion daily. Which I needed. Helpful staff. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Fair prices. Road to get there is terrible. Some restaurants in area.

We were traveling with elderly parents and stopped to check on rooms at the Best Western Inn of McAlester, OK. Lisa was extremely helpful in getting us two rooms together, on the ground floor, and by the ice machine. She also suggested Marilyn's Restaurant located next to the hotel, which had home cooking at good prices and was open until 10 pm. She also let us know that the pool was still open and didn't close until 1100 pm. The rooms were clean and quiet. It was a great place for us to stay and her suggestion for dinner was much appreciated.

A quaint, clean motel with doors facing the outdoors. Plenty of truck parking. The lobby and staff are great!. The HOT breakfast was good too. But the eggs were the usual powdered eggs like most hotels are. The rooms were roomy and clean. The cable TV was ok. Too many channels to choose from and you couldn't tell which ones worked and which ones didn't. Coffee, microwave, fridge in room. The internet was not good. It did work but I was only a couple rooms away from the lobby and I could only get 1 bar. Very slow. Marilyn's Restaurant was right next door and was excellent down home cooking, great wait staff and the prices were very affordable. There was also a Shell convenience store gas station just on the other side of that. Ice machine and vending machines available too. There was no Bible in my room but I am pretty sure it was because someone took it with them. When I told the front desk about it they were surprised and said they would have to get it replaced and hoped it was a blessing to whoever took it.
