    « Good location »

Hotel is centrally located in downtown and close to the harbour. It is close to city centre, shops and more. Get room overlooking the water on 3rd floor. Rooms are clean and of adequate size although as most hotels in Norway, the bathroom and shower is rather small

    « Grand old Hotel »

Yes, I know this hotel for at least 40 years, and it does not change much. But, this weekend we attended a Wedding and this was a good solution. We needed an early check-in / No problem ( 12:00 ) and arriving back in the early morning, we had a great breakfast and the staff were very, very helpful. The hotel is a little tired, but very central.

« Best Western hotel Maloy »

I spent 1 night in Best Western Maloy hotel and was very pleased with my stay. The hotel is cosy inside even if from outside I did not expect that. What impressed me the most was the attitude of the staff. They made you feel at home and well taken care of. Many thanks for that! Highly appreciated. The room that was allocated for me was on the highest floor with the best view (the balcony looked exactly between 2 buildings in front and allowed a beautiful view of the fjord). There is a tea kettle in the room, coffee and tea bags. Wifi worked well in the room. The bed, pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was very good with many choices. Considering that I was off season and, it seems to me, I was the only one guest at that time, I was again impressed with the efforts made for only 1 person. The famous Maloy bridge is very closel. A hike to the lake can be done, it's very close, about 30 minutes from the hotel. When I was leaving for a hike, it was raining and I was offered an umbrella at the reception. Incredible! The bus station is about 10-15 minutes walk from Best Western. Maloy is small, so everything is close. I highly recommend this hotel without any doubts.

« Front office guy Andreas a wealth of info »

The hotel is old and tired but has a really nice atmosphere Maloy is a small coastal town , my friend and I travelled there to get the Hurtigruten down to Berge. Breakfast was just fine, we left at 5 am and Andreas got us sandwiches and coffee to take with us, a great asset to the hotel

« Nice hotel with friendly staff »

I always stay at this hotel when I visit Måløy for work, the staff is super friendly, the breakfast is better than what I would expect at a pricier hotel. All kinds of cold cuts and accessories, on the hot plate there are soft boiled and hard boiled eggs, sunny side up, sunny side up with crispy bacon on them. (the hot plate items are my favorite), in pricier hotels the sunny side ups are always dry and with no runny yolk, but the last week I was there they were always perfect. Outside of tourist season (I think), the hotel offers an evening meal buffet included in the room price. They might have spoiled me on all my previous visits when booking a room, so I only booked a few hours before checking in, I asked for room 505 (it's angled perfectly so you can overlook the small boat harbor while enjoying your morning coffee, and it has electrical sockets so you can charge your phone on the night stand (this is a pet peeve for me, if I have to charge my phone across the room so I can't use it as an alarm clock, then i don't like your hotel ;)). Unfortunately 505 was booked, so I had to settle for 311, fair enough, it still had electrical sockets close to the bed, but no view for the morning coffee (backyard view). The next morning, as I was on my way to breakfast I stopped by the reception and asked if room 505 was available, and it was, so I got my room :) The hotel is old, the last 15 years of me working in Måløy, I might have stayed in most all of the different rooms in the hotel, and I would say that it has a good standard compared to many newer hotels I have stayed in. WIFI is free, fast and stable, but you have to make a free account with "the cloud" to log on. I used it for doing remote work on our work server and for streaming movies on netflix and viaplay without any problems, Logged in on monday and stayed online for 5 days without having to log back in. it's an old hotel, but I can in no way say that it's run down and dirty as some others have said. If I have to say one negative thing about this hotel, it would be that some rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor needs better sound insulation, other than that, it's my choice of hotel in Måløy.

    « Disappointing and rundown »

Stayed with family for one night, two rooms were basic but OK, but one room and the corridors smelled like a urinal. We informed the hotel reception and they just agreed with us on the smell but offered neither an explanation, apology or change of room. The red carpet outside was filthy and clearly hadn't been cleaned for months, would have been better just to get rid of it altogether. The cooked breakfast was cold. The whole building is rundown and is in desperate need of a major renovation.

    « Perfectly acceptable »

A perfectly average hotel in Målöy. Not the most updated and modern, but clean with friendly service. The rooms were okay. As the rest of the hotel, it was not very modern, but it was clean and we got a pretty good view as well. The walls seemed slightly thin, as we could hear people walking around in the hotel, but there was not a lot of other guests, and so we slept well. I could see this being a minor problem if you visit when there are more visitors, though. Breakfast was good, with a nice big selection of items. It is located close to central Målöy. It's not particularly scenic, the seagulls are reigning royally over the area, but everything is close by and there is not a lot of outside noise. Easy to park close by for free during the nights. Overall, it's pretty much everything it needs to be, with a good breakfast as a nice extra.

« Below average offering at high cost »

We arrived at this hotel Tuesday afternoon and asked for a room with a view, since the occupancy was low. The receptionist informed us that this was not possible, as the cleaning following the high weekend occupancy was still not complete... Thus we got a room in the back without view, but near a busy street.. The room was okay with a good bathroom. The breakfast was okay, but the entire hotel seemed 'old and tired'. The wireless internet was based on signing up as a user and then signing in every time we went online - not very 2013.. The rate was very high compared to the offering.
