Best Western Plus Savoy Lulea

Hotel restaurant is always full with outside customers. Restaurant staff always looked tired and in a rush with abrupt answers to queries. Often had to make a plan to find dinner outside the hotel at the end of a long work day. Big negative having no desk in the room.

This was a very well located hotel in Lulea. The staff were great an the breakfast was lovely. The room was small but neat and clean. The pa and sauna area was a delight. We would recommend this as an excellent place to stay in Lulea.

I stayed for two weeks. Except for one female staff member, I did not find the front of house staff cordial or helpful. The shower head was broken and the staff member just upturned the side of her mouth...it was still broken when I left. When I asked the same woman about the mini bar she said 'you don't understand, in Sweden we cannot give you alcohol'. I said I was asking for the price list, She did not have one. I Googled 'wine sales Luleå'. In Sweden they have shops designated to wine or beer sales. I asked her could she tell me where one was? She said there were several in Luleå. it was two doors from the hotel next to the Co-op, which she could easily have told me. I was not familiar with their road parking system/signage as some are loading bays. I was given incorrect times for on road parking. There was no lobby so, if you wanted to chill with a coffee and a book the bedroom was the only option. I was told on arrival I could go into the bar seating area but when I tried a day or two later, I was told it was closed. The female manager of the restaurant (mornings), was exceptional and, cleaning staff were very pleasant. The pillows were rock hard and they very kindly replaced them with softer ones. I had dinner the second night I was there. The waiter looked like there was a problem because I was alone. He said 'where will I put you'. I ended up at the back of the restaurant by an open storeroom door next to baby high chairs. He said the other tables were fully booked which, I saw was not the case as the evening progressed. My dinner was lukewarm and the waiter apologised and said the chef was training in new staff. He said staff were leaving without notice. I did not eat there again. On the day I left there were three staff at the front desk. I was not asked how I enjoyed my stay, thank you for your stay or please come again. I work very hard at my job and people I come into contact with take priority. It took me over a year to save for my holiday and I made the best of my time there and on my travels however, it is amazing how the 'hospitality' sector put a damper on part of my stay. I was very glad to leave.

food bad, rooms never cleaned, only changed sheets after asking. The hotel has all been changed and looks nothing like the photos. It was changed about 2 years ago but management are still allowing/putting up the old photos. Had to get take away etc because the food was so bad. No phones are plugged in, you have to go to reception everytime you need something. A jumper went missing after the cleaner had been in the room. I had to ask reception 2or 3 times a day for 4 days before they even did anything. The curtains are not blackout curtains. Things did not improve much even after I spoke to the Hotel manager. He did sort out the curtains for me but the service just got worse and worse. I feel like we were sold the hotel falsely ,as the photos and descriptions are wrong. After a few days I just wanted to move hotels but as it was between xmas and new year I couldn't.. However after explaining everything to the reception manager and saying how upset I was they did say 'do you want to just check out then and move, I will sort that out for you'. Not sorry for the problems or that they would sort things out !!!!! I feel so stressed and feel cheated that I feel like I need a holiday after all of the problems. Didn't even have such simple things as sanitary bags in the bathrooms. All of the things wrong with this hotel are such basics to anyone even if they don't use hotels,travel or work in the business. Do not book this hotel no matter what. Everything I saw said pets were not allowed but there were many dogs.

Good hotel in a center of the city with close walking distance to many restaurants and shopping mall. I spent time in the evening in the bar and restaurant which has a good service and freshly prepared food. Also I had a good made individual Pizza

We stayed for a few nights while doing some winter activities. Comfortable beds, nice size rooms- Good shower! The hotel breakfast was very nice and the spa in the basement was a nice touch. Would recommend.

Almost perfect. Since the first step into the reception I got a very warm welcome and the general impression has been very good. Friendly and helpfull staff. What I loved most was the restaurant. A fantastic journey in fusion tastes. Not to be missed!!!

No family room nor connecting rooms, so we had to book 2 rooms for us with 2 kids. The rooms on the top floor is of decent normal size but with extra ceiling height it felt much more roomier than it was. The rooms were clean and has black out curtains and good sound isolation. House keeping was fast wen we needed extra pillows as well. The breakfast was in a cosy setting (much better than normal hotel) with all the normal variety as I could expect. All in all it follows a good american standard with no fuss and no surprises.

Enjoyed a fantastic dinner with friends at this hidden pearl restaurant. The rumor that good new chefs had been recruited showed to be true. Company tried ate the fried char, served with a fantastic cream/champagne sauce with herb and chili oil, stunningly served. From the grill a porterhouse for two 495sek, paired with 3 nice sauces and fries, heads up for the nicely done black pepper emulsion which was great, also the house chutney. Don't miss out the rendered fat on the porterhouse delish.. Prices are midrange but great flavor and love in the food, try it! 495sek for a porterhouse for two of this quality is really good.

We have been here many times. But you need to know what room to choose and when to come there. It also depends on the stuff that is working. The rooms on the highest floor are the best. Big and clean. Also it is better to choose them on Saturday night when it can very loud. The stuff is hit and miss. Some very nice , some not really helpful. The breakfast is wonderful nowadays. Few month ago was nothing to worth the hype. The spa area, hit or miss too. Sometimes extremely too much chlorine in the water, sometimes ok, sometimes too many guests in the spa area and no privacy, sometimes you are alone and enjoying. But, definitely it is a place to try but depends on many things if you will have a very good experience or a short one.

The Hotel s directly in the city center plenty of shops around, also a supermarket is in front and right next to it. Room are quite nice but the bed is uncomfortable also the bath is a little bit small. Dogs are allowed. Breakfast is very good and has plenty of choises... the big minus is that the staff is unfriendly you don´t feel welcome

Check in went smoothly and after some minutes everything was ready and I got the key to the room. Everything looked very nice but after some moments I could see some things what bothered me. There was quit a lot of mould in the shower and I also didn't like that the cables were hanging down from the tv. If I would have my son with me it would be definitely a safety risk Breakfast buffet was very good with a lot of variations Overall I liked my stay as the hotel is very central located and you have everything nearby If I come again on a business trip I could consider staying here again if I come with my family I would ask for another room or change the hotel as in my ass it's a safety risk to have those cables hanging down from the tv ( see picture)

I actually booked another hotel but by mistake I end up at this one and I decided to stay because the price was good. A junior suite had a good price and I took that. But, once in, we noticed that under the bed that was so much dust and was not pleasant at all. The receptionist said that they will send someone to clean. Anyway, at the underground floor there is a spa that is quite pleasant, there are 2 jacuzzis and sauna, plus on payment other treatments but the jacuzzi and sauna are free for the hotel guests. That I enjoyed a lot but sure, I wonder how nice would be if 20 guests would want to have jacuzzi at the same time. We haven't had breakfast yet but probably will be ok. Internet works good, much better than other hotels I have been to. Anyway an ok hotel that worth to take a look at and maybe spend a night.

We were three from my company that stayed in this Hotell. All the staff from front staff to restaurant personal was very friendly and welcoming.. the room was clean and nice. We ate in the restaurant at the hotell. The food was very good and price worthy. A very good stay in all.

Lack of air, to much heat, no Windows that can be opened. Like sleeping in an airtight Box. Breakfast a bit boring, Cook cant boil eggs or fry bacon. Otherwise there is friendly hosts, good wifi, and it is a stylish and comfortale hotel. We stayed in the summer, Our complaints could be season related (heat). Other reviews suggest that the AC/air ventilation has been a topic for YEARS, but there is no info from the hotel before hand about it. Those with astma or respiratory problems should look elsewhere. There is a spa and a gym, we didnt visit those facilities.

Perfect hotel for my family trip, we got a very new venue suite and everything was perfect! Located on the central shopping street ! Close to communications. The Hotel Savoy was very professional and kind staff Very nice breakfast. If I must find something to be picky about, it must have been that breakfast staff was “vacation”-staff. But that's a minor issue!

Ok room with good beds. Good sleeping quality. Windows cannot be opened. Put the AC down. TV, coffee maker, refrigerator table and two chairs. Ok wifi, good breakfast soap, shampoo and conditioner provided. You must use the room card in the elevator! No parking available (even if booking half a year in advance)

Not sure what other reviewers were complaining about as our experience was completely positive from start to finish. Before we left home I emailed the hotel to ask the best way of getting there from the airport and got a rapid reply and we followed their advice. On arrival we were greeted by a very nice and friendly girl who made us feel very welcome. We were even allocated an upgraded room. Our room was a good size (part due to the upgrade, of course), clean and nicely furnished (apart from the chandelier-like bedside lights which were not to our taste). Everything worked and the shower and bath were excellent, as was the A/C system. The only slight problem was a small leak from under the bath/shower but I suspect that has more to do with Swedish plumbing regulations than the hotel. Breakfast every morning was excellent with a good choice, from fruit, cereals, and breads to cold cheeses and meats and hot food. There were even some homemade products on offer such as cloudberry yoghurt and jams. We ate dinner in once and chose the meal of the day, which was fine, not outstanding, but there was plenty of it. One evening we took advantage of the (free) spa and that was nice, with two Jacuzzis, a sauna and steam room. When we returned late one evening the chap on reception was also very friendly and chatty. The hotel was brilliantly centrally located so we could walk out to Södra Hamn and borrow sparks (kick sledges) to walk on the sea ice. Also very handy for the busses, train, shops and other restaurants. They also have an underground parking garage but we didn't need it. There is a Coop almost next door to buy sandwiches and fruit if you wish additional food and the Systembolaget (state liquor store) is only a couple of doors further. One word of warning: they do have a loud disco in the weekends. Fortunately we were there during the week so had very quiet nights. Perfect for our needs.

Aesthetically an okay hotel. One major issue we have is that at 5pm the cleaning ladies barged in our room while we were relaxing and asked me why our room is so messy...I explained that we were packing since we were leaving early the next morning and they scuffed and shook their heads...never have I been scolded by a staff like this before. Definitely won't be coming back here again.

Stayed one night and the location is good. It was possible to park outside the hotel. The girl sitting in the frondesk(almost hiding) did not even say hello. The room was ok but it was not clean. Dusty! The shower was leaking water out in the bathroom. Our expectation for the breakfast was not high, the plates was greasy, someone did not do the dishes just dip them into water. That was awful!! Within the check out, same girl in front desk as arrival, no polite question, not a welcome back, but she said good bye.

The room was comfortable with many comfortable specialities. Bath was very good and big enough as was the bathroom itself also. Parking was very difficult to find and to arrange, you have to leave your car in to the ordinary parking place for having their place and PIN for door. Cleaning of the room was very average and so was the breakfast also, ham and yogurt were obviously out of date, cools were handwarm and hots were handwarm.

SAFETY. Careful ! My room was invaded by strangers (seemingly drunk or whatever) at 1 AM ! yes, that's what happened due to a series of mistakes from hotel staff. First, they did not want to see my ID at check-in, but that led them to mix up my name with someone's else. They realized that only after I was staying in my room already. Until this point, ok. But then as I said, I was already in a DEEP SLEEP (I had a very important meeting next morning) when I found myself sitting in my bed and my brain trying to process what was going on, my heart was racing, my body shaking and a gang of 4-5 people (women and men) was laughing and pointing at me as if I was a circus attraction (they turned on the light at that point), my face must have been indeed as shocking as one can imagine. So, the staff once again committed an unforgivable mistake and sold my room to someone else (at bloody 1 AM!!!). This this group of someone else was NOT polite at all as I could briefly describe above. Surreal experience. It was humiliating, frustrating, disgusting. The hotel did not charge for my stay (1 night only). I do not feel compensated at all. Who would be???!!!!!! Surreal experience. Good luck.

The hotel is centrally located. If you have a car it is not easy to check in as no cars are allowed on the street in front of it. The parking garage is typical European in that the spaces are very tight. Breakfast is okay. Some things that should have been hot, were not. Some mornings they had pastries, some not. The service in the restaurant for dinner was almost non existent. The food good. We paid for our room in advance then found out after we were back home in the USA that we were also charged for the room when we checked in. We are still trying to get that credited.

One the worst places I've ever stayed in, I am struggling to call it a hotel. Room was filthy (toilet wasn't flushed!!) Housekeeping staff were literally trying to escort me out of me of my room at 11.55, while I was still in bed. There was only one plus, an incredibly helpful and friendly guy who was on duty when I checked in. Poor kid was a duty manager, receptionist, bar tender and concierge. Because there was no other staff. He was on his own.

Hotel turns to nightclub until 3am at the weekend. Don't bother staying here at all as I couldn't sleep and neither will you. Hotel is aesthetically lovely but waste of time. Stay anywhere else. This is an embarrassing state of affairs as the hotel itself has so much potential yet misses the mark.

This hotel is located right in the middle of Luleå. The decor is stylish, the room was clean and comfortable and staff was extremely friendly. There is a small gym, which I tried out. It was ok for a quick work out. There's also a spa which hotel guests are allowed to use free of charge. The best thing about the hotel was the absolutely delicious breakfast buffet with plenty of options, even for a vegetarian or gluten-free diet. This was a business trip but I'll definitely choose this hotel if I return to Luleå for pleasure.

Parking hall was the hardest one I have ever tried. Great location, not so friendly reception. You should always welcome the guest right away, not to discuss between staff, that´s rude. But hotel itself was clean and modern. Maybe they try a bit too much with all that glitter and gold, those means nothing to guests. I slept well, room was pretty quiet. The matress just didn´t hold its place, it was falling over all the time. Breakfast was good avarage, no complains there. With all its faults I would still stay again.

We have just come back from 3 nights in Lulea. The Savoy looks really impressive from the street and is nicely furnished. Check in was a breeze and took all of 2 minutes. We had a junior sweet and the room was nice and spacious with a great view over the street. The beds were comfy and it was fitting of the price we paid. The staff were courteous and efficient. We used the spa which was nice, and the steam room, sauna and jacuzzi were brilliant after a long day outside. Breakfast was good and had a good range of items. The bar at the front of the hotel stays open later than the main bar, but has a very limited range, and no vodka which was surprising. They could not access drinks from the main bar which seemed strange. There is however a supermarket and off license next door which was very handy. Drink in Sweden is far from cheap, and you have to go to a specialist shop to buy anything over 3.5% abv. On a saturday night the dining area turns into a middle to oldaged nightclub. 80's tunes blaring forth, and it was hilarious. It goes on until 3am and we had an real hoot. There is a strange way of dancing over there, it's like they are dancing in slow motion to half the speed of the music...very amusing to watch. We would certainly go back to the hotel and Lulea.

Extremly elegant decor and fashionable lobby as well as rooms, luxurious style, friendly staff and great location. Truly gives you a 4-5 star quality feel once inside the hotel. It's squeezed in between buildings, so not much they can do about the exterior. Nice SPA.

First impression on the hotel was not so good, as the boy at the reception who was ill or something, was coughing towards us during the check-in procedure. The rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds. Price could have been somehow lower for what the hotel has to offer. Hotel parking was convenient, too, on a charge though. The hotel is conveniently located, however we had a sense of insecurity when exiting the hotel, there were several strange guys walking around the block. We had a dinner at the ground floor restaurant, really good dishes, I strongly recommend it.

Would have loved to stay longer at this beautiful hotel! Lovely rooms, comfortable beds and nice bathroom. Also very helpful staff who made us breakfast and coffee when we had to leave early. Would like to come back another time to try the spa as well.

We had the great privilege to stay at this hotel as part of our trip from Stockholm to Narvik. It really was an unexpected treat. The staff were unbelievably helpful throughout our stay. Our room was well-appointed, comfortable and stylish while the breakfast buffet was extensive and tasty. We arrived at 7am off the overnight train from Stockholm with the intention of dropping of our bags and returning to the cold outdoors. However the helpful young man on reception advised that he could sort out a room for us there and then which we gladly accepted. We retired to bed for a couple of hours before exploring the wonderful city of Lulea. On returning to the hotel that evening, we asked if it would be possible to take a trip out of town to search for the Northern Lights. This request was addressed efficiently and at 9pm a well-briefed driver turned up to take us out in the hope of seeing the Northern Lights. He took us to some remote areas where there was no light pollution. We saw the Northern Lights feint in the sky and were extremely satisfied but our driver was insistent he could do better. He was not wrong. He took us to two other locations where we enjoyed great views, right overhead in the final stop. We are extremely grateful to the hotel team for sorting this for us; they clearly knew who to call. Not only did we see the Northern Lights but we were treated to a great insight into life in the Lulea area. For total rest and relaxation, I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. The staff really do make a big difference; them combined with a stylish and comfortable room really made for a great stay. I can't wait to return

Havent been here earlier, but next time here as well, price wice, good big and nice room, on top of that the food in restaurant was fantastic, i did had the Wallenbergare, worth to try with local beer (ale) you will not be dissapointed ( vegans dont bother you).

A really nice hotel. The room was awesome (we stayed in one of the suites). The interior design of the hotel, was done with twist. In a good way. The service was also excellent. It is highly recommended!

Lulea is a lovely city,and the hotel is so great,good location,good breakfast,comfortable room.I absolutely will came back again. The hotel is in the center,less than 5 min walk to the bus terminal ,and less than 10 min walk to train station.There a supermarket next to the hotel, and the money exchange shop at the opposite side,also a big shopping mall just few min walk, to the big lake just 15-20min walk. The breakfast is excellent,many choices and taste good.In the room there is a Espresso coffee machine,with coffee and tea,do not forget to try it,taste really good. In hotel they have sauna,and i have free to use the sauna!....really good!! And i highly recommended go to the big lake,a beautiful view in winter day and night,it is near the Norrbottensteatern,also I am so lucky i saw the northern light in there.

My wife and I travel a lot, the US, the Caribbean, the Middle East, East Africa and Europe mostly. Our go to chain of hotels is Kempinski and we especially enjoy the Middle Eastern locations. Having said that, these couple of days at the Savoy here in Luleå is, all things considered, the best hotel experience so far. It's not opulent and awe inspiring, but refined in a quiet way with great attention to detail in every aspect. Materials, colours, decoration etc is exquisite. The inhouse restaurant is cozy in a warm and romantic way with absolutely outstanding food. That includes the generous and qualitative breakfast buffet. Last, but not least, the staff is simply brilliant. Knowledgeable and accommodating with the famous northern hospitality. We already plan to come back as soon as possible.

Somehow you do not expect such freshness from a hotel somewhere in northern Sweden. This hotel is an exception. They have modern rooms with a nice flamboyant twist. Downstairs is a spa and sauna section. Direct access to the elevators from the garage. Breakfast is plenty and tasty. The hotel staff is very helpful. What more can I say. Go and stay there!

This is a very nice, clean hotel, with excellent breakfast of fresh foods, good coffee, fruits, etc. Staff were very friendly and its easy location for walking to restaurants and shops. The room is nice - clean, brightly decorated, small but very nice bathroom.

We only stayed for one night, but i would stay here again, for sure. Clean and comfortable room with everything that you need. Breakfast included in the rate, with a large choice of food. Parking on site. Systembolaget just as you exit the hotel, to your left. Even if we were in a hurry, we enjoyed our stay, and will definitely recommend the hotel.

We booked this hotel for one night only and stayed in a Suite with Sauna. Overall the hotel is quite nice, very good first impressions. Staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. The location is perfect! ROOM: we didnt expect such a spacious room, but this was because we were upgraded and had actually booked a smaller room. The bathroom with private sauna and huge tub for two + walk in shower and two sinks was enormous and really great! We did wonder though: why does the sauna have a metal handle? The handle inside the sauna of course got REALLY hot as the Sauna heated up. Also the thermometer inside the Sauna could show a max. of 40°C ? (Weird, as you´d heat up the sauna at least like 80°C - so obviously they didnt put a sauna thermometer in) Also: You pay quite some money to stay in this suite, still the toilet had the cheapest toilet paper you can imagine (this brown one layer recycled one) and also the toiletseat was thin plastic. (Maybe this is some swedish thing, I noticed the same toilet seats almost everywhere) This is def. not what I´d expect of a Suite in this price category. The rest of the room was ok, the bed was nice and big. Lighting could be improved. We didnt find any nice soft lights that were more appropriate for a nice evening mood. Also: NO SLIPPERS? (I searched the whole room for slippers, but couldnt find any. I have never stayed in a 4*Hotel that didnt offer slippers - how are you supposed to enter the SPA? barefoot? (I couldnt find those slippers in the SPA either) SPA: I didnt use the SPA area, as we only stayed for one night and had a sauna in our room. I did go downstairs though to check it out. In general it looked nice and inviting. Sauna and Steamroom was heated even though I went in the morning. Downside: There was no seperate room for relaxation after Sauna. There were a few "day beds", but they were right next to the SPA Reception Desk and also next to the gym. Betwen the day beds and the gym was only a curtain and the gym had some rather bright light. I know i wouldnt have enjoyed laying there after sauna. BREAKFAST: Sad to say breakfast was somehow disappointing. Actually they did offer some nice quality food (great ham and cheese for sure!) but the overall experience was the reason we wouldnt stay here again. The Breakfast room didnt have any daylight and was lighted like a bar at night. (very dark). We didnt like this at all, it made us tired and a little depressed - not how you want to start your day. Also my husband had some issues with a waffle iron (that didnt work)..he really tried to find a staff that would fix the waffle iron, but it took him at least 5 minutes and asking 3 times, until someone felt responsible. :( Overall: A Hotel, that looks mostly quite nice, but misses some things if you look a little closer. If you dont mind having breakfast in a dark room you might enjoy your stay. :)

Modern hotel in the center of Luleå. Nice room with very good beds and two armchairs instead of the normal one chair. Good restaurant with very good food and excellent service. Our waiter, Philip, even took time to tell us how some of the food was cooked. We can definitely recommend the potato roll with chèvre and lamb. The breakfast was also very good. The only complain we had was that the coffee machine in the room didn't work.

This new hotel was very nice, because it had a jazz image and when the weather is good you may sit outside and watch the walking street. The food and restaurant was nice and relaxing. The rom very clean and modern.

Nice new and modern, room was OK and had what you needed, check in went fine and swift, good location in center Luleå, Breakfast could be better a bit simple. Some noise during weekend but not that much.

Spent one night there, the hotel seemed to be pretty new and the staff was kind. They had a really good wellness area, very good breakfast and a small coffee machine on the room. Try to park your car in the smaller streets nearby instead of the (probably more expensive) hotel parking garage.

We stay on Lulea once a month and wanted to try this place but was nervous because it's a Best Western. Big surprise on how great this and will be our go to hotel from here on out. Pros: newly remodeled and done right, comfy beds, sauna and steam room open 7am till 10pm (most places are open 3pm till 10pm), quiet and I'm a light sleeper, great shower, accomidating and friendly staff, not stingy with towels and super clean Cons more like not super cool but for the price it's more than ok ; ) Parking can be tough and they offer at 139 krowns a night, two twins pushed together in least expensive room, jacuzzi was like warm bath water, toilet paper was cheap. It is the go to disco during the weekends so people every where if you check in late night. Lol it's a great property and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Nice and quiet room. Clean and fresh. Very big and spacious breakfastresturant with a good variety of food. The hotel is in the middle of the central town, close to shopping, train / bus, and restaurants. Very good value for the money. That's why I rate it so high.

The Best Western Hotell Savoy is a wonderful Hotel, so relaxing, so comfortable and indeed peaceful, I must say indeed. The rooms here are just so comfortable and just so nice to rest in at, the beds are so soft and wonderful to lie in, and the staff working here are all indeed very friendly as well.

I was fortunate enough to stay in the lovely town of Lulea on Business for 2 nights. I was very pleased with my choice of Hotel, the décor and facilities at the the Savoy were excellent and the hotel and room were spotlessly clean. My room was well furnished with Large flat screen TV, Fridge (Ideal for cooling craft beers from the shop next door!) and bathroom with heated floor and walk-in shower. The Breakfast was, I guess, Traditional Swedish and not particularly to my taste but it was OK. I dined one night at the hotel and the food was excellent, with the a good atmosphere in the Jazz themed resteraunt. The bar was well stocked with a great selection of local beers. Downstairs there is a complete Spa Facility including 2 Jacuzzi baths, steam room and sauna and, I would guess, lots of treatment rooms for the ladies. I even managed to find time to partake in a dog sled rid through the forest courtesy of Keijo Nikumaa ....well worth the money if you have an afternoon free!

Central to the town and 15mins drive from the airport. Warm and quiet rooms although the maid had got distracted and not finished cleaning the bathroom judging by the bin, toilet brush and wet towel left on the side. Staff were friendly and good. Good size gym and spa in the basement. The restaurant served tasty food for supper and breakfast. Not too bad on the whole. Mini bar/ basket was a novel idea.

We stayed at the Savoy for five nights during a visit to the north of Sweden. It was a good base - right in the middle of town and close to shops and restaurants and a short walk to the harbour. The restaurant produced great food (we ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel most days) and the staff were very friendly. The rooms were fine - not huge, but given we were out all day everyday it didn't really matter. There was free wifi. There was a also a gym, spa, sauna and steamroll. Something to be aware of - on weekends the restaurant turns into a fairly popular bar/nightclub. I'd stay at the Savoy again.

Friendly and competent staff all over. Housekeeping had some small issues every day until sorted by housekeeping manager. Housekeeping does not seem particulary well trained. The breakfast staff had made some not so hygienic choices on how to arrange food on the buffet, and there were some not so fresh items on there too. Also refridgerated items were not treated correctly. But the single biggest mistake is that on fridays and saturdays this hotel makes a night club in the restaurant (on level 2), we got a room on the top floor (level 6) and on friday and saturday we tried to sleep past midnight to the bass sound from the night club. I cannot in any way see the rationale of trying to combine these two completely opposite types of business in one place. This is a pretty damn nice place, and not cheap too. This would have been a 5 star rating had it not been for the night club and breakfast buffet. Stayed a full week in January.

We were in Lulea as part of a tour group hunting the aurora, this hotel was part of the package and we stayed here 5 nights. Our room was a good size, clean, well styled, warm and comfortable. We had two single beds pushed together and the mattresses always seemed to move apart a little which was a little annoying. Staff were friendly and the food we were given each night as part of our package was nice. Breakfast offered a huge choice and was plentiful. The downsides of this hotel were the rooms were often not serviced until late in the day. Once, they arrived after 5pm which was not long after we had got back to the hotel after being out all day - we wanted to relax and get ready for dinner not to vacate our room for cleaners so on two occasions we turned them away. The biggest downside was this hotel doubles as a nightclub so on New Year's Eve and on the Saturday night of our stay we were kept awake with the bass of the music thudding into our room until 3am making it hard to sleep. We were on the second floor so the music could be clearly heard, maybe floors further up don't have this problem.... Although I mostly enjoyed my stay here I'm not sure I would stay again - well definitely not a Saturday night anyway.

A very nice welcome from the personel in the reception and in the morning a very good breakfast with a lot of choices (We didn't need lunch ;)) On top of all there was a very nice SPA in the basement with the fantastic "bucket" shower thing with ice cold water and of course a sauna.

I would not tell anyone to stay here. Staff did not know what they were doing. Could not even help us find our rooms. Me and my girlfriend wanted to book a romantic night but we were very unhappy with our stay. Rooms were dirty and smelled bad. Thought Sweden had better standard. Would rather have sleept in a dorm with 25 snoring, smelling people.

Very nice staff. Luxurious standard-plus rooms. Very good restaurant and bar. In the cellar a free small spa department, with gym, bubble-pools and saunas. You can order various treatments there, too.

Came on a backpacker trip but still was welcomed extremely nicely. Their spa is a super brilliant treat and very good value for money. David and the other staff members always welcome you with a smile and give the best ideas of what to see and do in this beautiful town. wifi is free, food is great, location perfect.

Very nice hotel located in the center of Lulea. Reasonably sized rooms, clean and very nice furnished. Large breakfast buffet with a very nice selection. Dinner also. Free Wi-Fi. The only disappointment was that in rooms there was no an electric kettle and there was no coffee or tea. Next to the hotel there is a supermarket and across the street there pharmacy.

We stayed here in February 2015 and had a fantastic time. The breakfast buffet is plentiful with a nice selection of cold and hot dishes, the brunch buffet is equally good and deserves to be tried out. Brunch is served weekends so stay in bed, take it easy and go for brunch. During our stay we got good help from the staff with room service, access to spa area etc. The spa area is newly built smaller with a relax area, two bubble baths and two different saunas. A really good place to spend a few hours. I really recommend this hotel to anyone staying a couple of nights in Luleå.
