The room with double beds fit my family of 4 very well. It is clean and well-furnished. Our room is located at level 1 and it has a door that leads direct to the swimming pool. The bathroom is large and some toiletries are supplied. There is also a kitchenette equipped with microwave oven, coffeemaker and styrofoam drinking cups. Breakfast which is included in the room rate is simple but good enough for us as it has some hot food. There are coin washing machines on site. In terms of dining, we walked to Mel's Diner which is a 24hr place less than 15mins away which is quite good with excellent service. There are other eateries at Sunset Plaza located opposite Mel's but we had not tried them. There is a small convenience store nearby called Pink Dot but we found it quite expensive. There are no supermarkets which are within walking distance of the hotel.

    « Wonderful Hotel »

Love this hotel! Great location, great breakfast and loved the coffee! Parking was the cheapest I found and it had easy access. The bed was comfy and the courtyard was beautiful. The room was a little small (king bedroom), but overall it was clean and comfy.

    « Sell sell sell »

Clean room and good amenities but our interactions with reception was unhelpful. They are just trying to sell every deal they can. They offered a celebrity home tour for $47 but we picked one up outside the Chinese Theatre for $25 - same company! When we asked if they could book us a cab to Universal they would only do so if we booked their company for $50, we paid $35 with a regular cab and we were stuck in traffic. Not helpful at all we won't be returning!

« Second time and just as good »

I stayed here last year as a cheaper option compared to most hotels in the area and at the time thought I'd found a secret gem. I'm happy to say after staying here for a second time my opinion on this hotel hasn't changed. Great location. Friendly staff. Lovely comfy beds with a beautiful view. A rather delicious breakfast with a selection of hot and cold foods. The only slight glitch we had was when we booked our hotel the rep failed to mention we wanted two beds in the room so on arrival we had a one bed room to share. Even though the hotel was fully booked Mark on reception managed to get us into a new room the next day with two comfy beds! Without a doubt when I return to LA I will stay here again!

Great place to stay centrally located. Staff is professional and accommodating. Many restruants and entertainment within walking distance. The decor is very nostalgic the hotel is clean and all well maintained. We will plan to return.

Nice location for a short visit in order to see the major Hollywood attractions. Hotel is reasonable priced, clean etc, however quite a lot of noise from other rooms and especially insufficient breakfast area !

    « Really Nice »

We spent one night in LA for a medical procedure the following afternoon . Since we live 60+ miles from Cedars-Sinai, we chose Best Western Sunset Plaza...a national chain with a reasonable price. The room was clean and pleasant and very quiet. It was easily accessible from the parking area. The pool area is beautiful, and if we return, we will definitely make use of this amenity. Good free breakfast. Close to Beverly Hills and Hollywood. We ate dinner ar Lawry's The Prime Rib...5 minutes away. Wonderful. Only one issue. We stayed there on election night 2016. The Fox News Channel Signal kept cutting out all night long. Very frustrating. Coincidence? I don't know... Otherwise...a great evening. We will definitely return.

    « A highlight of my trip! »

I don't know where to start with this place - it was just superb. Not overly fancy but really comfortable, homely - and the pool area made you feel like you were in Spain. I slept like a baby here - the beds were so comfortable and the rooms we spacious, well equipped and felt like a home from home. They had plug sockets by the bed which made me so happy. Can't fault this place.

« great hotel at a reasonable price »

I visited West Hollywood in July for 8 nights and stayed at the Andaz and gave it a great review. When I was planning my trip for this month I checked the prices there and then called the Sunset Plaza which was over a hundred dollars less a night. Since the purpose of my visit was to visit my grandson I figured I would not be spending that much time in the room so I booked the Sunset Plaza. I was very pleasantly surprised. Although the outside and lobby of the hotel is not as nice as the Andaz the room was great. The amenities in the room were better as there was a microwave, coffee machine, microwave and huge makeup mirror. None of these were in my room at the Andaz. The pool area was amazing. It was so beautiful and relaxing. The included breakfast buffet had so many different choices. I am not a breakfast eater but I could not resist the tempting offerings. The hotel is surrounded by luxury hotels charging hundreds of dollars more per night The Sunset Plaza Best Western is a bargain. I plan to stay there on all of my trips to LA.

« Great hotel on the Strip »

Room was generous in size, enough for 2 adults and 2 older kids. We had a courtyard facing room which was just amazing, the outlook over the pool is just great. Included American Breakfast was very good. Service was ok, the Saddle Ranch Chop House across the road is great fun but there are not a lot of food options in close proximity. Still really enjoyed the stay.

    « Location, Location, Location »

Excellent location. On the same walking strip as the various and famous bars of Hollywood. If you are a tourist in LA - this is the best location to stay in. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired for though. Mark at the reception was extremely cordial and helpful and sorted out all our queries and even going out of his way to customize advice on the places we wanted to go to.

    « Good average hotel »

Just came back from a 4 day stay at this hotel. We took our 3 kids with us and we decided to stay in west Hollywood, an easy area to explore because of all the attractions and also easy to go to Santa Monica for a day at the beach. The hotel's location is good. You need to walk a few blocks either way to come across more restaurants, but there are a couple right near the hotel. The hotel is good. We got queen suite with jacuzzi, but unfortunately, all of those suites are not facing the pool and the windows face a wall, so it's pretty dark and a bit gloomy to stay in the room. Having said that, we were not there to spend time at the hotel, mostly for sleeping, but if you have a week or so in the city and want some down time, consider the same room but with a balcony instead of a jacuzzi, and then you'll have more sunlight. Also, the courtyard with the pool is beautiful, nice place to sit after the long day with drinks, although the pool needs to be cleaned more often. However, the hotel does not have a bar, the restaurant offers only breakfast, and we missed having that option. They are missing a bar, small bistro kind of place, even if a small one, specially considering the price. Which brings me to the next point. It was a bit pricy for what you get. We took this hotel because of the breakfast and size of the room, big enough to accommodate our party of 5, but other places (4 star hotels) we looked offered nicer, but a bit smaller rooms, and cheaper rates, with restaurants on site. It's a trade off, but something to keep in mind. The breakfast is convenient. A continental breakfast with eggs an ham or bacon, breads and pastries (they don't really seem fresh), yogurt, and a bowl with fruits. Also a waffle machine. It would have been nice to have a bit of cheese and cut fruits, but again, for a continental breakfast if was still good and filling. Parking is cheaper than most too. Wi-fi is free. If we go back to LA, we will probably consider a different place, although if you travel with a smaller party and don't get the large suite, it will be an OK deal.

« Update to previous review »

I had a not so great experience the last time I visited. I happened to come on a day they were renovating and encountered some problems, but I must say that the management team really tried to make it right. A friend of mine was staying in Hollywood and I suggested they try this hotel because it is a VERY beautiful place. Well they did and they loved it! They encountered no problems. So I am amending my review because I do believe that mine was an isolated experience.

« Fab hotel and added bonus of a peaceful pool area »

The first appearance of this hotel is deceptive, what a gem lies behind the facade, walking off the busy strip into a peaceful and beautifully decorated reception and it just gets better. Our room was quiet, comfortable and well equipped. The added bonus of the pool which is an oasis in the very busy city of LA, a perfect area to relax and unwind. I have seen some negative comments about the breakfast but I cannot agree with them, the breakfast which is complimentary is very good and you can choose from fresh waffles, pancakes, sausage, a variety of eggs, porridges, cereal, breads/bagels, pastries, fruit, yoghurts, along with cheeses, ham and more! Yes the plates and cups are paper and the cutlery is plastic, but really just get over yourselves and if you don't like it go and pay $15 down the road for the same thing on a plate! A shout out to the staff in the hotel for your excellent service, from reception to the maintenance guys, polite, professional and friendly. We ate dinner a couple of times across the road at the Ranch and Saddle, huge portions and we found it to be good, it was close a d convenient after a busy day touring too.

« Great hotel in a convenient location »

I stayed here with my 19 year old daughter for our first trip to LA. We spent 6 nights at this hotel and I really couldn't fault it. The staff were excellent, especially Mark on the front desk. The rooms were spot on (make sure you ask for one with a view of the pool), very clean and lots of lovely thick towels. Breakfast was a good selection of hot and cold foods. The location is quite central, if there is such a thing in LA. We tended to use Uber to get around. Will definitely stay there again on a return visit.

« Perfect hotel for our first trip to LA »

Our first visit to LA for my 3 teenage daughters and me, the second stop on our whistle-stop Californian roadtrip. The staff couldn't have been more warm and friendly; nothing was too much trouble. We felt very at home, safe and looked after! Convenient location, great for the hop on hop off bus tour; rooms lovely and beautifully clean with fridge, coffee machine and safe; breakfast is good; pool area beautiful. We wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for everthing!

    « Honeymoon stay »

We arrived after a long drive to a very nice welcome by the reception staff. We were given an upgraded room & wine on arrival for our honeymoon. The hotel was very clean, in a great location & definitely worthy of a 4* rating. Thanks for everything. :)

« NIce hotel, great location »

It is a nice hotel with a lovely courtyard. We stayed in a suite which was very nice. Only downside was the breakfast wasn't that good. We went out for breakfast. Other than that a nice hotel. The location is excellent and the $18.00 parking fee was a nice surprise.

« Comfortable, convenient and classy »

Very convenient hotel on Sunset, great value. Very helpful and friendly staff. Stayed in the two bedroom suite - 4 queens and a sofa in a sitting room which was excellent as I was traveling with 5 teenagers. Two really nice bathrooms stocked with plenty of towels! Pool area is just beautiful, as pictured. It is an older hotel as are most in that area - but new doesn't always mean better. This hotel is charming and warm, and everyone made us feel at home. Yummy hot American breakfast buffet. Scrambled eggs were well seasoned and very tasty. Multiple meat options each day, sausage and ham day 1, 2 kinds of sausages and bacon day 2. Waffle station, cold cereal, yogurt, fruit, coffee, juice selection. Something for everybody. Will definitely stay here again.

    « Awesome! Continued... »

This hotel continues to be me and my family's favorite hotel in the area. We visit southern California every year and have been doing so for at least past 20 years. We have tried a number of hotels and this has been the best overall experience for us, so we don't even look at others anymore, just go there! The staff, management make this a great and pleasurable experience every time. What we love about it is that the experience has been consistently good, not hit or miss. Looking forward to next years experience!

« Fully priced but good »

Quick and helpful reception. Touch of luxury: good furniture and bed; immaculate and glitzy bathroom; fridge, coffee machine & safe. Breakfast included but ordinary (that's America!). Small but nice pool and environment. Opposite the Comedy Store for Hop-on Hop-off bus. Hotel is also a collection point for LuxBus going to Las Vegas. Taxis at door.

« Great Stay in West Hollywood »

Affordable, great location - close proximity to everything! Lovely clean rooms, great breakfast, super friendly staff and lovely outdoor pool area. Have stayed here both times I have visited L.A and would stay here again!

« Nice hotel, great location »

Clean, spacious rooms. Pool area is lovely with lots of flowers Breakfast was buffet style with eggs, pancakes etc. Didn't like the paper plates though and plastic cutlery. Location is great on Sunset Strip for bars & restaurants etc but you will need a car or uber to get to any of the main tourist sites.... Hollywood, Beverly Hills etc LA is HUGE... If you are looking for a clean hotel in a good location without breaking the bank LA style this is a great option.

    « Clean and spacious »

We were very pleasantly surprised by our room in the Best Western Sunset Boulevard. It was huge and clean. The air conditioning worked perfectly. Bathroom was clean and very big. Carpark number 2 has a sharp incline on the way in- it was a bit tight for the car - and difficult to turn if the few spaces in it are filled. Recommend going for carpark 1 or 3. The pool was lovely- You could take your breakfast down and eat pool side too which was nice. The included breakfast was definitely adequate- eggs, potatoes, cereal, juice, tea/coffee, bagels, pastries etc. Overall good stay and I recommend the hotel.

« Not the best Best Western »

My expectations were high after a great stay at the Best Western Sacramento however this hotel did not compare. The good thing is that it has parking under the hotel, chargeable of course but handy. Just pull up outside the front door to register and you will be given directions to car park. Evening reception staff were very helpful. We were given a room on the first floor which is practically underground. Very hot, although air con was efficient but too noisy to keep running all night. Also vending & ice machines on this floor which sound like a helicopter is hovering. Hairdryer is wired into bathroom which is never a good thing. Coffee making facilities in room and fridge and safe. Pretty pool area and good choice of food at breakfast.

    « No complaints. »

A very nice hotel. Decent sized rooms and a good location. This was our arrival point after a 10 hour flight. Easy parking at the back of the hotel. Pleasant streets for a long walk down to the farmers market to enjoy the scenery. The observatory is not far and Mulholland drive is just ten minutes.

« Great hotel right in the heart of West Hollwood! »

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a few days and thought it was lovely. Our room was a bit small but nice and clean and the bathroom was lovely. We also had a slight pool view which was lovely. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

    5
    « Lovely Hotel »

This is a wonderful hotel. Our room was beautiful with a lovely balcony and a great view. The front desk staff were very professional and friendly and the service was outstanding. The breakfast was really nice with a variety of options and both breakfast rooms are spacious and comfortable. I took my family there from out of town and the hotel was in a great location for sightseeing. We all had an enjoyable stay and will definitely go back for our next vacation in LA!

    4
    « Honeymoon »

We kick started our honeymoon at this hotel in LA. We had a huge, comfortable room overlooking the pool area. The location was very good on Sunset Boulevard for going out to eat in the evening with several restaurants and bars within walking distance. It was also handy for the Hollywood hills, Beverley hills & the walk of fame. The hotel offered a complimentary breakfast which was pretty poor and cost conscious served on paper plates and plastic cutlery. The best option was the waffles. The parking underneath was very expensive but that's LA for you. Overall it was a good choice for the area and I would recommend it.

« An old-world oasis, with all the amenities of today in the heart of the city. »

My Husband surprised me with a trip for my birthday, so I had no say in where we were staying on this trip. But he did not disappoint at all. I will say, pulling up to the hotel can be a bit tricky, but nothing to really worry about. You pull up in front to check in & the hotel has its own parking located around the block that staff will gladly explain upon checking in. The hotel itself is wonderful. The staff is very accommodating and knowledgeable should you have any questions about anything going on in the city. And you are surrounded by so many things to do. Talk about location, location, location. There is almost no time to take advantage of the gym they provide or the amazing pool area. But I do encourage you to take the time to at least sit out under the stars with all that beautiful bougainvillea. You will forget about all the hustle and bustle that is surrounding you outside. I have never stayed in a hotel that can whisk you away like that. And waking up to such a wonderful breakfast before heading out for the day was such a treat. When you think hotel, you think the normal, muffin and coffee. But here, it was a full on breakfast. Oatmeal, waffle bar, eggs, bacon sausage, fresh fruit, coffee and juices. There isn't enough that can be said. I will be telling friends and family and we will most definitely be back.

    « Excellent budget hotel »

We spent three nights at this clean, efficient hotel. The room was a good size with comfortable beds. The breakfast, which was included, was varied and ample, There were eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, yogurt, fruit, juices, scones, muffins, danish, a waffle machine and batter to make your own waffles, toast, and good coffee. It wasn't gourmet, but it held us over until dinner. The pool was clean and very pleasant and the hotel is centrally located with convenient parking for less than $20. a day. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

    « Bad start,but got better! »

Having booked through virgin holidays and requested an upgrade for our 45 th wedding anniversary we very dissapointed to be given a room with a view of a brick wall!!! After complaining we were given a room overlooking the road, better but not great.next day we were moved to a poolside room with French doors opening out on to the lovely courtyard pool, perfect!! After the bad start things got very much better, room was comfy , clean and with efficient air con. Free buffet breakfast was ok,but you could take this down poolside which was a big bonus. Friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. Excellent location for visiting the major sites in la,sighted on sunset boulevard ten minutes from Beverly hills. One tip,try the food and happy hour in the saddle ranch opposite, great food, big portions and a great atmosphere,be brave and try the mechanical bull ride, plenty did, most got thrown off! All round this is a good hotel in a great position.

    « 2 nights over New Years »

The room was enormous compared to what we had just experienced in Hawaii. The front desk staff was nice and the breakfast was good. The location was terrific with the only downside being the $18 parking fee but it was expected. It was under construction at the time.

    3
    « It's a Best Western, that's all. »

If you need to be in the area and are not prepared to pay excessively, this hotel is fine. Perhaps the most distinguishing feature is the good outdoor pool. There are several up and down stairs to reach (some) rooms which is slightly troublesome for luggage. Otherwise, little of note.

    4
    « Love it »

Boutique hotel with big rooms, spotlessly clean and lovely pool area. Service wasn't as friendly as we would have expected but they did the job. Parking was approx $15 and you could come and go as you pleased. Relatively close to all you need.

« Great place for first time visit to L.A. »

For our first time to Los Angeles, this was the perfect place to introduce us to the city. The staff, especially Julio and Jesse at the front desk are a credit to the hotel, perfecting that all importance balance of friendliness and professionalism (Jesse especially when I came to the desk about 5 times in 30 minutes with various annoying questions). The breakfast, for a self service, is one of the most comprehensive and complete selections I've seen in a hotel. Maybe there could have been more cereals but with the huge selection that there was, I was more than satisfied. The second breakfast room on the fourth floor is a great idea too.

    4
« Great Place on Sunset »

Nice location easy to get to. Nice people at the check in Julio & Carlos are mine of information of the area and LA. Room we got was clean and house keeping a good job everyday only there should be facial tissue or similar in the room. Breakfast standard American fare. Location is such would visit again. Thank You Julio & Carlos.

« Perfect place to stay »

I was so very pleased with my decision to stay here during my 8 night stay. From the start my experience was great. Before check in I had requested certain special requests and I am happy to say that every last one was made, no questions asked. The staff is accommodating to every need. My room was very spacious for me and my guest. Comfortable bedding, microwave, fridge, and blackout blinds made my 8 night stay extremely convenient and I was able to save some cost on food by having snacks and drink in room. Other hotels I looked at in the area cost more and didn't have these amenities. The hotel decor was cozy, warm and made you feel like you were transported to a quiet Tuscan villa after a long day of sightseeing and activity which was nice. We utilized the hotel parking for around $18 which was very convenient and breakfast had great variety. I enjoyed myself so much I plan on staying here during my annual trip to LA.

« Second time visiting, and I still think this is the best value on Sunset Strip »

Having stayed at this hotel a number of years ago and having a pleasant experience, it was my "fall back" hotel if nothing else in the area was reasonably priced, and sure enough after doing my homework and seeing the high prices of other area hotels, I found myself once again making a reservation at the Best Western Plus Sunset Plaza Hotel. The location is perfect, with everything you want to see in either walking or short driving distance. Whether walking Sunset Strip, taking studio tours, visiting Santa Monica Pier, or taking in the tourist-trap area of Hollywood and Highland, this hotel places you in reasonably close proximity to everything, and at a decent(for the area) price. You can look, but you're not going to beat the value that this hotel provides. Overnight parking is a bit pricey, but you'll soon realize that parking anywhere in greater Los Angeles is pricey, so it is what it is. The complementary breakfast is slightly better than what you'll find at most chain hotels. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool area is a nice little oasis in the middle of a concrete jungle. I've stayed here twice now, and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

« Many Improvements Since Our Last Stay. »

We had stayed here many times in the past. For the last handful of years we have used AIRBNB when in the area. AIRBNB has gotten more expensive due to city/county fees and taxes so we decided to go back to the hotel scene. It turned out to be a good decision. The hotel has cleaned up since we were last there. Our room was very nice and very clean as well. The staff really made a difference in the experience. They were beyond kind, helpful, and professional. Went to a concert at the Bowl and the walk was 10 minutes. We did not eat at the restaurant as we had eaten just before check-in. One thing I would recommend if you want a quieter experience is to request a room towards the middle or back of the hotel. Ours was in the very front on the side of the restaurant and there were some pretty loud people down there having drinks at the bar. Sound came right through the walls. It didn't deter much from our overall experience but just wanted to keep it real. Will stay again for sure when next we are in town!!! The staff alone is worth the stay as they can make or break the mood of a stay and this staff was on top of their game!!

« Stop over for China tour »

Coming from southeast, USA, we stayed two nights before and two nights after a two week trip to China to help adjust to 12 hour time change as well as visit LA. A great location to tour LA. Rooms are very spacious with mini kitchen, clean and quiet. Very attractive courtyard with pool. A nice breakfast is included but no restaurants or bar. Room service is provided by local restaurants. Front desk is exceptionally helpful with reservations, tours, and directions.

    5
    « Outstanding »

We arrived here late afternoon and were made to feel very welcome by Mark on the Front Desk. The hotel is boutique style and is stunning. We stayed in a suite which was a corner room and had windows on two sides; one over the lovely quiet pool and the other looking at the LA skyline. The balcony was quaint with a small table and chairs and also a comfortable lounger. The hotel had a Mediterranean rustic feel about it and it felt "classy". Complimentary breakfast was fine with everything you could wish for and was replenished often. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant or a bar but this really didn't matter as there is an abundance of superb restaurants just a 10 minute walk away, and it is safe to walk out in the evenings. There is also a bar just across the road should you want a drink. Parking is $18 a night in a private car park below the hotel. All the staff we encountered were lovely, very helpful and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend this superb hotel.

    « LA in September »

We had a very good experience at this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, just what we needed before a day out in LA. Car parking is good but will cost you $18 a night but worth it if you won't to escape LA for a day. The hotel is well situated and has all the facilities you may require including a laundrette. The pool is in the centre of the hotel and are provide towels by the poolside. A great experience thank you

    « Great location »

Just spent 3 nts here. Hotel is well placed on Sunset Blvd. LA is so big nowhere is really central. Reception will tell you it's too far to walk to most places and that buses can be a bit un reliable, but we walked all the way to Hollywood Bvld to the walk of fame one day and back and all the way to Rodeo Drive and Wiltshire Bvld another. If you walk down Sweetzer Ave, take a right out of hotel and then first right, all way to Santa Monica Bvld there is a bus stop just there for 704 express bus, which will take you all the way to Santa Monica Beach for $1.75. Price is same wherever you get on or off! Only takes bout 30-50 mis depending on traffic and you get a good look at Beverley Hills on way. Santa Monica and Venice beach are superb and you can walk between the two or hire bicycles. We walked took about 50 mins to an hour each way beautiful views, especially muscle beach!! Hotel was very nice even had a pool but we didn't use this. There is no bar, which is a shame but the Saddle Ranch chop house across the road is a great place to drink and eat. Rooms were clean and bed comfy. Buffet breakfast was ok. Would stay here again.

Stayed here for three nights nice clean rooms every member of staff were extremely polite and nice. Free breakfast basic but adequate good base to get around LA but would recommend a car enjoyable stay and would be happy to return.

« Really good spot a short walk to everything »

When you walk into the hotel it is like an oasis out of the hussle and bustle that is Los Angeles. They have a lovely pool in the middle of the building with a wonderful garden of flowers on full bloom over trellis, very Spanish inspired almost! Service was adequate, breakfast quite good. There are 3 floors of rooms, ours was on the second floor! A number of the first floor rooms open onto the pool terrace, unfortunately, the second floor room that we had was very dark - the only window opened to a concrete wall and it was very noisy from up above. Other than a disappointing room a nice stay.

    « Peaceful oasis »

This is a beautiful hotel very peaceful and relaxing even though it is on a very busy road. Ideal for visiting the area with local bus stop just outside the entrance and the open top hop on hop off stopping just across the street at the Comedy Club. Great breakfast with lots of choice. Be aware there are no bar facilities at the hotel, but there is a liquor store across the street and with a fridge in your room, it's ideal to store a beer or chill you wine to come home to and relax by the pool. The staff are excellent and extremely helpful. Would stay there again without hesitation.

This location is very luxurious and well managed. Located on the strip you have plenty of options to chose from when it comes to dinning. The rooms are to die for and the noise is kept at a minimum. Please check out this location and see it for yourself it's definitely a 5 star stay. « Wonderful stay »

We have stayed two nights. The first night was very stressful as we had been 24 hours travelling. Picked up a car and we're out into a unknown city to us on a different side of the road. No problem getting here it's a pretty straight road from the airport. We parked the car in front of the hotel and we're able to drop luggage off before we moved the car to secure underground parking just round the block. The staff on our arrival were lovely, giving great instructions and advise. The rooms are so clean with plenty of fresh towels. Hair products and soaps. The beds are nice and big with lovely fresh, crisp white bedding. I slept like a baby, just what we needed. The breakfast was wonderful. It caters to ALL tastes. We got the hop on off bus and the stop is just up the road from the hotel. Really well located. That evening we didn't want to go far and the restaurant over the road was great. Nice food. We wandered up the road and had a drink in a cocktail bar to round the evening off. So I would recommend this hotel.

    « Pretty good actually »

Clean hotel in a great location. Great lighting and lots of mirrors (nice for girls putting their make up on). Bathrooms are nice and clean and there were plenty of towels (one reviewer had posted that there was only 1 towel in their room and I was sort of worried about it). Front desk staff weren't very friendly, but it didn't ruin our stay. Good location, great price. Beds were comfortable enough and room was cold and quiet (just like I like). Would stay here again if I end up back in LA.

Very nice upgraded hotel and reasonable price for my stay. The breakfast was very good and easy to access the food and take to my room to relax. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. I would recommend to others.

« Besthollywood vacay going back soon »

My family and I (2kids-girls) stayed here back in summer 2009, the following year myhusband I stayed at the Sunset Tower hotel (5star) next door. I found that the staff at best western were much friendlier and more helpful than next door in a five star. I loved the hotel so much we are planning on going back summer of 2017,and my husband wants to go back to the same hotel instead of going to afour or 5star. We hope it will still be the same (warm, friendly staff, good value for money) as it was back then.

    « Came for show... »

We got the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom room 233 because we were staying in LA to see the Broadway show Newsies. We had my mother in law and two teenage daughters and this room was perfect! Super clean with a living room in between the rooms and the bathrooms were really spacious and nice. Our bathroom had a great rain shower head and double sink. Cons: need some kind of shelf in the shower for your soap, putting it on the floor is kind of gross. Plus they could use a towel hook right outside the shower because you have to step out and walk around the corner on the slippery tile. They have bath and body works products which is nice. We didn't use the pool but the grounds around it are beautiful. Staff was okay friendly. We slept in late so we didn't take advantage of the breakfast but parking is good and safe and free wifi.

« Reasonable hotel for family »

The facilities of the hole are good and swimming pool is available for kids.l Location of the hotel is also good. Overall environment is suitable for traveling family.i would consider choosing this hotel again in the future.

    « Holiday trip »

Location is awesome, close to Hollwood, Rodeo Drive and other tourist spots. Reception staff were courteous enough, had an issue with the account yet to be resolved. Still recommend this hotel. Outdoor pool is a good size, not too many rooms so not large. You need to go out for lunch and dinner however plenty of options available.

    « Dissapointment »

When we arrived at this hotel, we were very confused on where to park and had to park outside the hotel on the side of the road until the receptionist told us where the parking was which was behind the hotel. The room was adequate and comfortable but a kettle would be useful. In the morning we went to breakfast for our first meal in LA. Breakfast was served on paper plates with plastic knifes and forks which is completely unacceptable especially being in one of the the thriving cities in the world also there was no staff in sight, it was completely self service . The wifi basically didn't exist and it was impossible to do anything. Very disappointed.

« Not Much Nearby for Families »

We selected this hotel after a day at Universal and were considering continuing our site seeing into Hollywood but found ourselves too exhausted. We wanted dinner and there are really no decent family friendly places anywhere near. We were told the Saddle Chop place across the street would work however the place was packed with people watching cage fights and we couldn't get a table for over 1.5 hours. Hotel is clean albeit a bit smelly. Our room faced Sunset Blvd. and was noisy with sirens. The pool was pretty to look at but cold and seemed more like an adult pool. All and all, I would expect more for the price paid and would not stay here again. Just very anti-climactic considering we were in Hollywood. But front desk staff were very polite and professional.

    « 3* that's really 4* »

My family - husband, 2 sons ages 14 and 15, and I stayed for a few days and were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Our suite - one bdrm with 2 queen bed and separate sitting room with sleeper sofa was large by hotel standards. The mini sink and large fridge were appreciated as we like to keep cold drinks in our room. The bathroom was very large with 2 sinks, separate soaker tub and glass enclosed shower. The hotel is in a great location. Easily walkable to shops and restaurants from all sides. Lovely curb appeal. Taxis and public transit outside front entrance. Staff very helpful. They offered a late checkout and still offered to store our luggage while we did more sightseeing in the afternoon before we were ready to move to our next vacation destination. Rooms were quiet. No neighbor or outside noise. Breakfast is basic - selection of cereal both cold and hot, eggs, breakfast meat, selection of bread, bagels and some danish. It is really a 3* hotel with the feel of 4*.

    « Excellent in parts »

3 night trip as part of a road trip around western US. Check in good - car parking chargeable but this is normal. Room very pleasant opening up onto the pool - a bit cramped around the doorway to the patio Pool absolutely delightful place to relax with loads of greenery Difficult to find stairs so end up using the lift an awful lot. Breakfast not very good at all with v little choice - also I don't expect cardboard plates and plastic cutlery at somewhere like this. Problem with air con on our first night which took a while to sort out and left us with poor sleep on that night,

    « Excellent STAFF !! »

The Staff is solid... Great welcome and follow through. Staff goes out of there way to remember you and always acknowledge you..Highly recommended..!!!! Set on the Sunset Strip within walking distance of everything..

    « Perfectly adequate hotel »

Stayed here 3 nights in July as part of a larger trip across the US, and enjoyed it. Check in was easy and quick. Room was large and comfortable, if a little dated in terms of decor. It was also very quiet, which is always a bonus. Bathroom was also quite large for a hotel. Pool area looked inviting, although we didn't take advantage. Breakfast was a little basic -- paper plates, make your own pancakes etc - but plenty of choice. Sunset Plaza has sufficient shops and restaurants, but it's not within walking distance of any other sights or attractions. We used Uber, buses and the really efficient Metro to get around. Santa Monica is well worth a day trip.

« Great base to explore LA »

We are a couple in our mid 20s and stayed here for 3 nights as part of a larger holiday to the US. This was a great hotel, in a good location for exploring LA and opposite one of the bus stops for the hop on hop off bus. The staff are friendly and hotel rooms clean and spacious. We had a lovely room with doors opening onto the pretty pool area. The pool area was perfect for relaxing, never really busy and very peaceful. We stayed on a B&B basis and there was plenty of choice of good food for breakfast. We would definitely recommend the hotel and staying on Sunset Strip.

« Very nice hotel for family vacation »

This is the second time our family has stayed at this hotel and both times have been very good experiences. It is a great place to stay for families and is kid-friendly. Several rooms open up to the pool and there is a nice buffet breakfast included. There are many shops and restaurants within walking distance (the kids loved Mel's diner). The hotel is 5 miles from Universal Studios and even closer to all the Hollywood attractions. I recommend this hotel for family vacations. It is also quiet at night even though it's on a busy street.

    « Great stay! »

Last time we were in the area we stayed in Hyatt across the street, we liked the location but wanted to check out this hotel this time. Also Hyatt our room some years ago was super noisy; luckily our room in this hotel was dead quiet during evenings and night. We were very happy with our choice. Our room had direct access to a beautiful pool area, and the pool was about 5 meters from our balcony. Really nice! Room itself was very good and clean i.e. very good standard, so nothing to complain. Breakfast was a bit weak and cold eggs did not taste good out of disposable plates. Luckily oat meal was good! Gym was a quite basic but ok for some exercise. Access to parking lot is from a quiet street behind the hotel and it was really easy to get in and out. In total this was a great ending to our Hawaii-Nevada-California trip.

« A pleasant surprise at the end of a road trip »

Best Western exceeded my expectations. The rooms were very comfortable, a good breakfast selection and excellent parking. The Jewel being the courtyard swimming pool. The location meant we could walk to 'The Grove' shopping and Indoor Market, as well as 'The Walk of Fame'. We drove to Griffin Park Observatory and Venice Beach, Sanyta Monica. Restaurants a plenty on your doorstep and the staff were very. I would recommend for families. The only negative would be the outside rooms faced a wall.

    5
    « Fantastic Service !!!! »

As a frequent traveller I must say this hotel was by far a 10 for service and accommodation. Carlos and staff treated me like million dollars , I will return. Restaurant for breakfast was easy and cheerful, location is central for everything. Bravo!!!

« Good hotel not too fancy »

Good, clean hotel with friendly staff always ready to assist you. Breakfast was ok if you do not expect fancy - you use paper plates, cups, glasses and plastic fork, knives etc. A little bit far from glamorous nightlife but there are a few bars and clubs in the neighborhood-Ryan at the reception desk was very helpful with that. The Skybar at Modrian is worth trying out for a drink and it is like 50 meters from hotel. If you want to go to the famous clubs in the area be prepared to pay the price.

Best place to stay when in Los Angeles. Hotel is clean. The staff is very helpful. The breakfast is always ready at 7am . The rooms are clean and quite. The location is perfect if you have a car. Rooms are clean. Has a washer and dryer.

« Great base for all the sights »

We stayed here for four nights in June, it's a great base for all the sights, west Hollywood, Hollywood - which you can walk to in about 45 mins, universal, Dodgers etc. We had a car and it's super easy to get around, leave plenty of time though as the traffic is pretty crazy. There's parking at the hotel, I can't remember if we paid for it, but if we did it can't have been much! The room itself was really nice, with air con and amenities, super comfy bed and clean and tidy. There's a free breakfast in too, which was enough for a quick bite before going about your business. No bar, but there's a great bar right across the street so no probs there. We barely spent any time in our room to be honest as there's so much to do. So All in all a good value for money hotel in a good location. Only one gripe about American hotels - our best western at San Diego was the same - no tea bags! Come on us Brits love a brew in the morning!!

    « Brilliant! »

I've stayed in this hotel twice and loved every second of it! The location is fantastic, the rooms are great! I was lucky enough to get a poolside room which was even better! The breakfast buffet has a good variety of food. Friendly and helpful staff. Taxi rank and bus stop out the front. Can't ask for much more in a hotel!

    « Great Customer Service »

Great hotel for anyone staying in West Hollywood for business or pleasure. Rates are fare and the hotel is both ascetically pleasing to the eyes and centrally located on Sunset Blvd. Of specific mention was the excellent level of customer service. I was there on business and experienced a disappointing setback that was unwelcome but the front desk staff went out of their way to accommodate my shattered itinerary and brighten my day and even week. Surprisingly good level of customer service. My thanks again to Carlos and Fred -

    « California Travel »

Central to most venues like the walk of fame, very close to Hollywood and in easy reach of the beaches. This hotel offers a warm welcome and comfortable surroundings which are clean and modern. The hotel has parking which they do charge for but if you have a car (recommended) the garage is good because parking is difficult. The hotel also included breakfast in the nightly rate which was simple but appreciated. If you want to get away from it all the pool area is very relaxing and enjoyable.

« Nice hotel in excellent location »

We are couple and 3 children and arrived for 2 nights. In the evening arrival was like there was no one who greeted outside the hotel. Reception was greeted nicely when we got the key immediately and an explanation of the self-service parking which was great. The room was very spacious with view of the pool. The furniture was feeling pretty outdated and needs a refresh. The wireless internet made some problems and didn't work perfect. The beds were not the most comfortable. Air conditioner very was noisy and not cooled, we were told that's how it should work. There is self-service laundry room, which is great. Breakfast was reasonable but the dining room is very small. The hotel's location is excellent and also the staff. The hotel pool is very nice. In conclusion, Nice hotel in an excellent location.

« The Best of Best Westerns »

My teenage daughter and I stayed here for three nights during a long road trip. We visited LA to look at UCLA, and we built in some time to check out Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Hollywood is a little rougher around the edges than we had imagined, but this hotel was lovely and the perfect home base for us. This is hands down the best Best Western I've stayed in anywhere, and really didn't even feel like a Best Western. The hotel is beautiful, and struck me as sort of a cross between Mediterranean and art deco styled. It is very clean, very safe, and very welcoming. We had a huge room with a huge bathroom, a kitchen area, and two queen beds. The room has these great wood-paned windows that open wide to a gorgeous, flower-filled poolside courtyard. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was standard BW fare. My daughter and I walked to a convenience store a couple of blocks away at night and felt perfectly safe doing so. We also walked around looking for a restaurant one night, which we did not find. There are a couple of bars with food within a block or two of the hotel, but they are 21+, so not for us. We ended up getting in the car and driving to find food. So, if you have minors, and food within walking distance is important to you, you might think about that. But if you have a car and don't mind driving (and honestly, the traffic wasn't anything like what I was warned about - it really wasn't any worse than Seattle traffic) then this is a great hotel - safe, welcoming, centrally-located, friendly, and the room and pool were just lovely. I would definitely stay here again, if I ever have a reason to be back in LA or Hollywood.

This was my second stay at the Best Western on Sunset plaza. The hotel is beautiful, with a very relaxing pool area. The rooms are large and clean and very comfortable. Was very pleased with this Best Western Hotel. My husband and I decided to go with this one based on its location, very convenient to Hollywood Walk of Fame, Beverly Hills, Sunset Strip, The room was clean and decorated in very good taste. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. Breakfast was wonderful..lots of variety..really enjoyed it. Would most definitely stay there again!

    « Family holiday »

We only had one night at the Best Western but the staff and hotel itself were absolutely wonderful! The staff couldn't be more helpful even though we aren't entitled to breakfast when we arrived they offered it to us and on our departure as we were leaving early gave us a bag with fruit and water.. They also booked our to jets for universal studios and printed them out for us! We had a family room which was excellent, very clean and more than comfortable! Unfortunately we didn't get to utilise the pool but it looked beautiful! Maybe next time as we'll definitely be back. We felt very safe and loved this hotel

    « Unexpected Treat »

This hotel was nothing short of perfection. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and no matter what the question, what time it was or what the request they were all equally cordial and receptive. I enjoyed my stay so much that I am already planning another trip and plan to stay at the same hotel. My only recommendation would be to have a heater installed in the pool because the location blocks direct sunlight on the water which made it a bit cold for the swimmers but other than that change nothing. This hotel is quaint and very comfortable and it made for a perfect place to enjoy a weekend getaway!!!

    « Classy small hotel »

We felt fortunate to find this hotel after the place we originally booked turned out to be awful. The kind man at the front desk let us check in early, and we were thrilled to find a big, nicely decorated room with comfy beds and a spacious bathroom. The room looked out onto the pool with flower boxes all around. It felt like a little oasis (temps were over 100 while we were there). The location is within easy walking distance of the cute cafes at Sunset Plaza. Parking was convenient, and there was a hot breakfast buffet. A very comfortable stay!

    « Great hotel »

We had a four night stay at the beginning of our west coast trip. The hotel was in a good location for what we wanted to do. Our room was lovely , opened up onto the pool area which was a nice bonus. Beds very comfortable and room very spacious . Large bathroom and all areas to the hotel were exceptionally clean. The free breakfast was a good start to our morning. The one and only small criticism would be the paper plates and plastic knives and forks, however I can see the reason behind this. All staff we had dealings with were very pleasant and helpful . We did not have a car for this part of our trip, however we had no issues travelling around. Tour buses collected us right outside the hotel. We also took a 40 minute walk to the hall of fame. The chop house restaurant is just over the street and other eating places are within a walking distance. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if ever lucky enough to be back in the area.

« Great hotel, friendly staff »

This hotel is in a good location, plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance. The breakfast was plentiful and the rooms a nice size. Although the traffic could be heavy first thing we never heard it, and whilst waiting for hop on hop off bus (catch outside Comedy Club) it was interesting to watch the different types of cars go by.

« Great little place in LA »

The hotel stays in west hollywood, a great central neighbourhood in LA. The hotel has a nice atmosphere and its a great little, clean and comfortable place. Its not a super star hotel thought. The room is big, the bed is nice, the breakfast is tasty and the staff is helpful. Also, the price is right. Its nos a "cheap" hotel, but in LA nothing is cheap! Its a place I definitely recommend!

I was staying at the hotel for 6 night i made reservation at the last minute and Carlos at the front desk was very helpful and nice and even got me a good room :) the room was clean and big for 2 people the breakfast was very good and free of charge the only one small think is the WIFI at the first floor doesn't work properly (bit slow and no reception) i am sure that i will be back to this hotel

    « Heaven for a complete Route 66 »

After completing our route 66 vacation this was pure heaven to wind down in . Great location (although traffic very heavy but car spotting was wow !!) absolutely fantastic staff where-as nothing was to much trouble and a super room which lead onto the "cosy" pool . Plenty of eating/drinking places nearby of good quality and not over expensive in this very vibrant and famous place . It is very unlikely we will be in L A again , but , if we were no hesitation in staying here ......cannot thank you enough especially the staff at check in , was lovely to meet you all .....many many thanks , Geoff & Avril Mulcahy .

« Good place but its a Best Western »

Spent two nights here after landing in LA at the start of a 3 week road trip. The hotel is in great place, easy to see the city and all the attractions and easy to get to from the airport. The staff were really friendly and very helpful, Mark on the front desk checked us in and noting we were tied after the 11 hour flight from the UK suggested that it would be best if we spoke to him in the morning about the city and he would give us the information then, which he did, really good help. Breakfast is included at this hotel which is a rarity in the USA but very welcome and the staff manning the breakfast room were extremely helpful even to the point of making my wives waffles as she had not used the machine before. They have a lovely, secluded pool area which, if you are staying longer than 2 nights I would look to have a room next to, a lovely area. The room was big and have everything we needed for our stay however, as I say in the title, this is a Best Western and like so many other BW hotels they are in need of a face lift, the carpets and furnishings look tied and are in need of replacement, everything is dark, this maybe a design feature of BW hotels but it does nothing to help brighten up the rooms. All in all a good two night stop over, good value for the money paid, clean and tidy, but a BW .

    « Recommended highly »

Located in the heart of Hollywood on the Sunset Strip where horribly expensive hotels are the norm, this little jewel fits the bill perfectly! We arrived late in the afternoon and were welcomed without a reservation as a walk in. The desk staff were outstanding and offered us a room at a very reasonable rate for the season and time of day. Where hotels in this area are priced in the $400 to sky's the limit range we paid $230. The room was exceedingly comfortable with a nice view of the "Hollywood Spanish Style" center courtyard pool. This isn't a brand new property but has been upgraded to be perfectly adequate for our needs. The bed was very comfortable too! The Sunset Strip can get noisy but our room was very quiet. The buffet breakfast was good and filling with a good selection. We will be back! Highly recommended!

    « Enjoyable Stay »

We stayed at this hotel in May/June for 4 nights. It's about a 25 minute taxi ride from the airport and it is well located. It is almost directly opposite the Comedy Store (which is bus stop 4 on the hop on hop off city sightseeing bus tour) and a good grill / restaurant and only. 2-3 minute walk to a Starbucks. The hotel itself is very clean and tidy and well presented. Some have said that they feel the decor is out dated but I thought it was nicely decorated throughout. The rooms are very spacious and well equipped. They are cleaned daily to a high standard. They have a very nice bathroom with everything you'll need and a coffee machine and fridge. The breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice. The pool and the sun area was clean and tidy and very welcoming after a long day spent sightseeing. There are always taxis available outside the hotel but be careful and check the prices before getting in (we always found the yellow cabs to be better priced). Take a trip to The Grove for a nice evening out where there are nice restaurants and bars in a safe environment - about $10/11 dollars in a taxi). All in all, a lovely hotel and I would definitely return.

    « Great Stay »

This well situated hotel provided a nice clean and spacious room with a very comfortable bed and all the other facilities that one would expect. Importantly our room was very quiet. Staff all very friendly and helpful. A good breakfast was provided. A good variety of bars and restaurants close by. The Hop On/Hop Off tourist bus stops almost opposite the hotel. This hotel was good value for money. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it to other travellers.

    « EXCELLENT HOTEL! »

By far one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. Rooms were clean and inviting with a warm ambience. Despite the hotel's location in a busy area, the rooms were quiet and provided a very safe environment where you can unwind and relax. In addition, the hotel has an excellent breakfast buffet that offers a great variety with fresh items added constantly. Parking was also available through backstreet access into the hotel. Overall a great experience. Highly recommended!

« Great room, great location »

Right on Sunset, close to restaurants and shops. Off-road garage easy to use. Looks good from outside and we had a great corner room at the quieter back with its own balcony. Pool also looked nice though we didn't use because of gloomy weather. Friendly staff and decent breakfast. Seemed popular with families as well as people on business. Only issues were three kids on multiple devices found room internet access a bit patchy and sofa bed mattress for third child was a bit uncomfy. We folded it back up and he just slept on bedding on sofa itself. Didn't raise this with staff as we sorted it ourselves but sure it wouldn't have been a problem if we had as they were very helpful. Right across the street was Saddle Ranch wild west theme restaurant which was great and very good value, though a bit boisterous at night. Big enough, however, to deal with birthday parties and families.

« Super location, comfortable stay »

We had booked this hotel based on excellent trip advisor reviews and we were happy that the reviews were right! This is a very nicely located hotel on the Sunset Strip with many restaurants around. The stop for the hop on off bus is right across the road. The staff of this hotel are informative helpful and friendly. The rooms are not very big but still very comfortable and clean. The hotel also offers hot breakfast which is quite sumptuous. The wifi is very good in the rooms too. The hotel has a lovely pool too. We had a lovely stay for 5 nights. Totally recommended.

« Great hotel in a great location »

Clean, comfortable, great pool. Breakfast a bonus and very nice too. Friendly staff and well priced parking. Not much not to like. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. One lift out of order so a 4 rather than a 5.

    « Good Base »

After an eleven hour flight being greeted by friendly helpful front desk staff was vey welcome. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the pool area is very nice. The only down side was the paper thin walls and the noisy air conditioning unit. It costs $18 per day to park in the underground car park, which was waived for our stay as we complained about the smoking outside our room which was by the very nice pool area! Breakfast was included in the price which was enough to get you going for the morning, ranging form cereal, bagels, bacon eggs etc. Complimentary coffee is available throughout the day. For us this was a great base for our 2 night stay.

« Beautifully furnished, super comfortable + very cool 'LA style' »

The interiors, flowers, pool, rooms, decor (statues, flower pots and old-style reception telephone) make this place special and unique. The hotel staff were good listeners, helpful, informative and friendly. Really liked the rooms and could easily spend all our time here in the hotel while on holiday. The hallways and overall layout of hotel (the way the reception, rooms, hallways and pool area) create a very 'cool and laid back vibe' that is typical of how you imagine LA living to be like. Glad we got to experience staying here. The only thing is the breakfast did not cater for our dietary requirements (eg. waitress unfortunately could not offer anything for dairy-free and peanut-free options) as none of the food was made on site. The only option was an apple. Would like to stay here again if kitchen catered for a wider range of dietary needs (including the aforementioned). Location is across from Chateau Marmont, which was lovely. Unfortunately some aspects of this area of the Sunset Strip present themselves as quite 'seedy.' Public transport isn't so great. All in all, a special, delightful hotel. Thanks

Arrived midnight. Couldn't have a bath , plug not working. Went to reception several times , no result to get it fixed. Expensive room , lots of noise from footsteps on floor above. Not helpful staff. Will never stay here again

« Good and not so good! »

We booked via Virgin about a year ago and requested 3 rooms together. 2 of us were next door to each other with a terrible view over a car park and our friends had a much smaller room with a tiny window overlooking the pool courtyard. The larger rooms were comfortable and perfectly clean however our safe didn't work and despite reporting it to reception at least twice a day, it didn't get fixed. Breakfast was chaotic. The tiny room where it was served wasn't big enough to cope with all the guests so we ended up taking trays outside to the pool. Lifts were old and very slow so this became a bit of an obstacle course balancing our breakfasts and negotiating the stairs! Our friends room was very noisy. People above them were up early and it was impossible to sleep through the floor creaking or the noise of the shower. Sitting round the pool in the afternoon sunshine was lovely with tiny humming birds coming to see us. A good base for Universal and within walking distance of Hollywood Boulevard if you're fit! There was a car park in the basement which was very convenient. They waived our parking fee due to the broken safe.

    « Very nice »

We stayed here 2 nights at the end of May '16. The room was big enough for 4 people, everything was clean. We had a room with pool access, the area around the pool looks really nice and you can't hear any noise from the streets. Breakfast tasted good and there's a big variety, everybody would find something to eat.

Great location. Very comfortable. Pretty surroundings in the relaxing courtyard. Staff very helpful. Located conveniently short drives from most popular attractions such as Hollywood, Beverley Hills, Rodeo drive. Rooms were fresh, clean, very comfortable

« Wonderful location, clean rooms »

I liked this hotel, it was super clean, had free parking and was a great location. Walking distance to some attractions and some restaurants. The beds were comfortable. The hotel offered a free breakfast but we did not take advantage of it as there were so many other places to eat in the area.

    « "Great Stay" »

We had a 3 night stay at this lovely hotel. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a view towards the strip. The room was very big & comfortable with a big bathroom & good storage for clothes etc. The breakfast was very good value & especially welcoming in the USA which was included in the price. The pool area was relaxing & clean.Front staff were very helpful & friendly. There are a few restaurants that are close to the hotel but you would need a taxi if you chose to walk into Hollywood especially at night. We couldn't fault the hotel & its amenities.

Wonderful hotel for business or pleasure. Great clean large rooms and wonderful courtyard. 2 Breakfast rooms with full american breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location smack on the Sunset Strip.

    « Great »

What a lovely hotel. We got upgraded to a huge suite which was great - the staff work tirelessly day and night!' Pool was lovely and quiet. Breakfast was ok - staff again very busy and some of the guests spoke to them quite rudely at times. This was just the tonic we needed after staying at the soulless Hilton! Highly recommended!

« If you are looking for a clean, comfortable and reasonably priced West Hollywood hotel... Look no further »

We booked to stay over Oscars weekend and didn't regret it one bit. Our room was clean and comfortable. The pool yard was clean, relaxing and full of lovely pink flowers and palm trees. Located on sunset Blvd you are in a prime location for walk of fame. We had a car so could travel anywhere we wanted with ease. Car parking was ample and easy to use. We were half way through our 3 week road trip when we stayed here and so used the laundry facilities... No problems.. Super easy and reasonably quick from start to end. Staff helpful and friendly. If you are not sure on whether to book this hotel, go with your gut and book it. It's even better in the flesh than in the pics and has been recently updated. We will return if ever staring in Hollywood again.

« Free Breakfast Thrown In. »

This hotel has a great location & does pick up across the road for the hop on hop off bus. The rooms are clean and look to be recently renovated, the bathroom was lovely & spacious. They throw in a free cooked breakfast which is very rare for the USA. The pool courtyard is very pretty & the pool was not too cold.

« Not much to complain about »

Stayed here recently when visiting our son in Los Angeles. Picked this hotel because of the consistent reviews. Was not disappointed. Stayed on the 2nd floor, corner unit overlooking pool area. The pool area was great but we missed a good vacuuming. They must rely on an automatic skimmer because the bottom was not as clean as we would have hoped. Stayed at a Best Western Plus in Orange County last year and they were out daily vacuuming the pool. Makes a big difference. Would have given it a 5 if it wasn't for this. The breakfast was great - the food, the seating, the attendants. We would definitely come back here again.

« Nice surprise for a Best Western! »

My room was not great (basement level, so only had windows near the ceiling, BUT the hotel, location and breakfast made up for it! The pool area is beautiful with blooming flowers and trees and quiet. Lots of underground parking. We could walk to several restaurants in the area and just up the hill from Melrose. The breakfast was generous with options and decent quality for a breakfast that is included in the room price. Would stay there, again.

« Great hotel, but away from strip & food choices »

This is a great hotel. Rooms good & clean, spacious with an in-room safe, and great little breakfast. It would normally be a must stay hotel. BUT there's no jacuzi, and more importantly:- The location lets it down. It used to be mext to the House of Blues, but that's now closed. There are only a cople of restaurants close, and the strip (both of them) are a taxi ride away. It ca be walked, but a bit long, but the staff advise not to walk after dark. Next time I'm in LA, I'll book something closer to the action..... I can't rate the service as excellent, because the room service is local hotel delivery, and when I tried to get something deliverred, it was a 2 hour wait - so ate a meusli bar.

we arrived here after a great 15 day cruise to the Hawaiian islands for our 50th wedding anniversary, we did not think it would get much better, but it was on a par for great hospitality, staff were superb, and the hotel room was more than what we expected, on the whole ,great room and amenities and the concierge staff could not do enough for us when we needed help in getting to places ( a sincere thank you everyone )

    « Great quiet hotel »

Quiet, quiet, quiet. Stayed here 5 nights. Slept great. Comfy, large modern rooms. Fridge and safe were a nice bonus. Shower nice and hot. Never heard a peep from another toilet flush from another room. The included breakfast, for a hotel buffet, was very good and plenty of staff to keep things replenished. Front desk staff friendly and helpful, pool area beautiful. One other great money saving feature - they have coin-op washers and dryers if you're staying for several days, so you can pack light.

« Very nice hotel in great location. »

Hotel is conveniently located near all the major attractions of LA. Although it's on a busy street it's quiet, at least those rooms facing the pool. They are clean and spacious and comfortably accomodate 4 people. They are equipped with a safe, coffee maker and daily provisions of coffee and tea. Parking is provided at an additional cost. Breakfast was included and was decent, although they could do better than serving it on paper plates with plastic cutlery.

    « Nice Hotel »

The hotel is nice! Great location. Staff was friendly and courteous. The location was ideal for where getting to downtown LA and Beverly Hills. The rooms were comfortable, the beds were amazing. The Breakfast was ok, the eggs were watery, but the waffles were good. The pool was nice, even though we couldn't swim in it cause the weather didn't permit. Overall I had a great time there and will stay there again!

    « Fantastic hotel »

I chose to book at the Best Western Plus Sunset Plaza after reading reviews on here and i am not disappointed at all. The staff were amazing and helped with everything we asked from travelling to different parts of LA and late checkout. The room for me and my daughter was brilliant with loads of space including our own little kitchen area. Breakfast was a good choice, a little small in the dining area, however, you had the option to take it to your room or eat by the pool. The pool area was gorgeous with loads of flowers and humming birds, very peaceful. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that we took to Vermont (travel cost is only $1.75 each way) and once there we got the underground train to explore different parts of LA. Around the corner from the hotel and at the bottom of Sweetzer Ave near Joeys Cafe is another bus you can get that will take you to Santa Monica Beach and pier. Overall if I had to come back to LA i would definately pick the Best Western again, good value for money, friendly staff and a gorgous hotel.

    « Nice little hotel »

We found it easy to get to, coming by car, we parked in the garage at the rear of the hotel. The room was lovely and large. The breakfast was good but only served in a small room. We left the car in the garage and walked most places.

    « Lovely hotel! »

Whilst not in the most safest feeling locations, once you get past the front door this is an absolutely lovely hotel. Very clean and tidy with spacious rooms that easily fit a family of four. The pool surroundings are lovely and very relaxed. It's also a very handy hotel for getting about, only a short taxi drive from a lot of the main attractions.

    « Nice getaway »

I stayed in the LA area in or around 2008. After looking and looking for a hotel for my trip in 2016, I finally located one that fit within our budget and was in a location we liked. I was shocked to realize upon check-in that it was the exact same hotel I stayed at several years ago. This was not planned at all. If I had remembered the name of the hotel I'd stayed at 8 years ago, I would have chosen it again, but I didn't remember it. It's comfortable and there's a really great assortment of breakfast choices Beautiful property and comfortable room. I would highly recommend this hotel.

« Great location and great staff! »

We weren't sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Family of 5,we checked in early, the room wasn't ready so left our luggage. When we returned our luggage had already been delivered to our room. The staff were very helpful and made our stay an enjoyable one. The pool looked awesome, although we didnt get a chance to use it. The place was clean and comfortable. The rooms were a great size, beds were so comfortable and it was quiet. Would definitely stay here again. Great location

    « Vacationing »

Although 3 stars, felt like a 4 star hotel. Good warm breakfast daily. Good variety. Helpful front desk reception. My sons loved the fact that the hotel is within walking distance to all their sites. Overall a definite place to stay at when we return. Negative, too expensive for overnight parking. Would have loved for it to be cheaper.

« Very good, nice location »

Not sure what to expect when we booked the hotel but was very pleasantly surprised. The staff on reception very friendly and breakfast basic but fills you up for the day ahead. Located on the red tour bus route and plenty of restaurants and bars near by as well as clubs for the party goers! Beds changed daily! The only downsides: The pool is small and very deep, the sun doesn't get to it after a certain time as its surrounded by buildings. Could do with a bar for guests relaxing by the pool The maids were not in the rooms until very late in the afternoon, just when we wanted to come in, get changed and go for a swim or get ready to go out. Will definitely stay here again if back in los angeles

    2
    « Disappointing »

I only stayed one night, and I was charged for 2 nights. -When we first entered out room, a maid used her key and walked in, without knocking. The bathroom door was open and my husband was getting in the shower. She said " oh, I am sorry I was gonna see if you needed towels." -We left for dinner and put the DO Not Disturb sign on, the still entered the room and changed out the curtains. Remodeling the rooms, but it should have waited until we were checked out. -the a/c is set on a 2 hour hold timer, so it would automatically go up to 85 every 2 hours, so in the middle of the night, we had to continually get up to turn it back down.

« Great location - Great staff - Clean hotel »

I feel lucky to have found this hotel online. The hotel was clean and in a great location, walkable, we like to walk to see the sites, we walked to Beverly Hills and to WeHo. The neighborhood was clean and safe. The staff, maid service and maintenance, greeted us each time we walked by. The room had a large closet, large bathroom with a great shower, microwave, refrigerator and coffeemaker. The bed, we had a king size, was very comfortable. We will stay there again the next time in the area!

    « Holiday time »

Stayed here with my wife during a short holiday to the US. It's about $45 with tip from LAX. Place was nice, clean and had friendly staff. Breakfast was simple but filled you up. Pool was great for a quick splash after a day sight seeing. Unfortunately it is yet another hotel of haves and have nots. You either get a room with a view over the pool, or in our case a room with a view facing a wall with little to no natural sun light. Location is fine as it is in the middle of all the key spots you want to see. OK restaurants around, nothing special, would need to grab a taxi to go to a nice venue.

« Tremendous Hotel with Great Value »

There are so many wonderful things about this hotel! Great location on sunset blvd, complimentary wifi and breakfast, beautiful courtyard pool, and well-maintained/clean - and not to mention extremely affordable! More than happy with everything we got for the price. Staff was very helpful throughout the trip. Great place to stay if you want to explore West Hollywood. Other main attractions are not too far either, the walk of fame is only a short drive and about a 45 minute walk. Only complaint about the hotel was there were a few tiny fruit flies (I think it was because of the live plants in the room). Other than that it was a perfect stay! I highly recommend the suite if you are a family of five - comes with 2 double beds, a pull out couch, a kitchen, and family area. Very spacious, and more affordable than getting two separate rooms!

« Beautiful hotel, great location »

« A great hotel for not a lot of money »

We chose this hotel as the facilities and location looked good and the price was favourable. We were not disappointed. The hotel is just great. Rooms clean and tidy, staff excellent and helpful. Location good. Breakfasts filled us each morning. Coffee, tea and hot water were available all day. There was a small gym which we used and the pool and location was great. Definitely stay here again. The chop house across the road was a great place to go for a meal

fabulous rooms with fantastic views of the city from the balcony rooms, beautiful seating around pool area, easy walking distance to eateries and shopping, I was there on business, yet the end of each day was like a mini vacation, the amenities made it worth all the hassle of working in the city, couple of miles down the road is upscale shopping as well as casual shopping, fantastic area, will book here again when planning to be in the area

    « Nice stay »

The room was a generous size and overall I was happy with the facilities of this property. The location is good. We walked to the walk of fame/dolby theatre in about 30 minutes (at an easy pace). Just a few minor cons to be taken into consideration. Firstly, when first arriving to my room I noticed it hadn't been cleaned properly, there was still some hair in the drain of the bathroom. It was minor and given the time of day that we checked in we didn't bother changing to a new room, we just ensured it got a proper clean the next day. Secondly, the free breakfast. It's great that this property offers a free breakfast as not many do. It isn't a substantial spread though. I found that the eggs on offer were powdered and the meats not much better. I played it safe with a bagel in the morning. Overall, I thought the location and facilities are good and I would stay here again.

« Great value and location! »

This is our 6th time staying at The Best Western Sunset Plaza Hotel. We obviously love it. It is in a very convenient location with reasonable prized under the hotel parking. The convenience of a full breakfast in the morning is also great. We request a room by the pool and it is a lovely, peaceful place with an abundance of gorgeous flowers and vines. I keep looking at other hotels for our twice yearly trips to LA, but we keep coming back to this one, because it has all the things we need and love.

« Perfect hotel for families »

We stayed here for three nights as an extended family - 15 of us - spread in four rooms. They coped so well with the movements of so many children and adults and we're always helpful and friendly to us all. Three of our rooms looked over the swimming pool and also had a small kitchenette but lacked utensils or even a microwave. For us Aussies a kettle would have been perfect to be able to make a cuppa. It's very tricky using a coffee machine to boil up water. Special thanks to Mark at front desk that phoned all the taxi operators to find a backpack we had left in a cab. He found it ! We were so grateful for his efforts. Thank you also to Carlos who helped us with ordering taxis and sorting us out! If you can as a family ask for the room with two queens and a separate lounge/kitchen - fantastic for families. It even had a sofa bed in the lounge! Thanks Sunset Plaza Hotel for a great stay

« Lovely stay in Hollywood »

I had a nice stay at this hotel while attending an event in Hollywood. The room was small, but had a good size bathroom and everything I needed. The hotel is older, but upgraded over the years and things seemed to be in good condition. It's a good, solid choice and the price was reasonable for the area. The staff at the desk was helpful and courteous, the grounds/pool area were beautiful and they provided a free breakfast in the morning. Parking was a little challenging. The hotel parking is on the backside of the hotel and underground. The ceiling is low and spaces are small. You use your room key to access the hotel from the back and take the elevator up to your room. Parking is $18/night. I've attached some photos if you want to see the room and grounds.

We stayed in several BW hotels on our West Coast road trip and this was easily the best. Lovely spacious room, spotlessly clean and cute little terrace. Good location for nightlife and lots of restaurants within walking distance - great to people watch!

    « Best Western Plus »

The hotel pool and landscaping were lovely. The rooms were clean and quiet and the staff helpful. The location was excellent and great for food delivery. Ate dinner by the pool for 4 nights and it was beautiful and peaceful. Went swimming many times. I have recommended this hotel to all of my friends and would come back in a minute.

« So far so good! »

We booked a 2 double bed room and ended up getting a 2 queen bed suite! And it was a complete surprise the very kind man at the check in counter didn't even brag or try to let on he was doing such a nice for us.. We just got to the room and realized wow this isn't what we paid for! Such a nice gesture especially after the day we've had.. Having our flight cancelled without notice and having to pay an outrageous fare to get here! I am very pleased with the service thus far and the only complaint was the parking was full at first but wasn't truly an issue as we just parked blocking 2 cars in and turned in our keys.. but that will happen everywhere in LA especially on a Saturday night! within an hour a spot turned up and I got my keys back! Can't wait for those Belgium waffles at breakfast!

« Urban oasis on the strip. Lovely staff and excellent swimming pool! »

We stay in Los Angles several times a year and always try new hotels. This one is a real gem and we will definitely stay here again. Great location -- right on the sunset strip, so it's close to a lot of restaurants and bars, shopping, etc. The pool is so relaxing and beautifully decorated with flowers everywhere along with lounge chairs and tables. It has the feel of a luxury hotel. The staff is wonderful here -- they are the caliber of a five-star hotel. We had a slight problem with our room and front desk managers Mark and Brenda were extremely helpful and kind. They made sure our problem was resolved. The only negative issue we experienced is the check-in situation. They don't have a valet, so if you have car, you need to pull up and leave your car on the busy Sunset boulevard -- OR I suggest calling in advance and get directions to their parking lot which is around back but not easy to find. This will alleviate a lot of stress when checking in --especially if you are not familiar with the neighborhood.

    4
    « Comfortable »

The room was comfortable and may have been one of their renovated rooms. The view was a brick wall, but on the third floor, was close by the pool. The breakfast was fine for a buffet. Trying to save money is difficult when you have to have lodging in this area. The second morning I had to leave before the breakfast was laid out. (I had to leave at 6, yet breakfast isn't laid out til later). They allowed me to get a little something . It's too bad they think everyone eats a late breakfast. Some people are not on vacation so have to follow a schedule so an earlier starting breakfast time with hot food would have been nice so I could have had 15 minutes to sit down and eat something hot.

    « A calm hotel on a crazy street »

If you're looking for a friendly, mid sized hotel in a great location - right in the heart of Sunset Blvd - this is a good choice. The hotel has large, comfortable rooms which are well furnished and not too noisy bearing in mind it's in such a busy location. Breakfast is good and the pool and garden are like something you'd find in a luxury boutique hotel. Nearby, there are plenty of good restaurants, bars, shops and you're well located to get a taxi or tour to see the rest of the area.

    4
    « Comfortable, clean & central »

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly here at the Best Western Plus hotel. Out of the few hotels we stayed at during our Californian road trip, this place had the best choice of breakfast foods! There's a CVS close by, the Saddlechop Ranch across the road has a great tri-tip steak and the taxis outside offer a flat rate of $45 to take you to the airport. The hotel also assisted us in arranging tickets & transport to Disneyland which was a great help. There's also a coin operated laundry which we were very thankful for and your hotel room should have a choice of take-out menus which can be delivered to your hotel room. Wifi is pretty good in hotel room & lobby and the beds were really nice and firm. We would stay here again, as it was reasonably priced, comfortable, clean, centrally located and friendly.

    « Holiday Weekend »

We visited family during the Easter weekend and stayed at this beautiful property. The pool area is gorgeous. Breakfast area nice. Hearty and substantial hot buffet breakfast offered. No variance day to day. Perfect location with plenty of parking. Guests who were stopping in to see us at the hotel even were able to park for a short time in the garage without charge. Staff is exceptional and extremely helpful and accommodating. Thumbs up!!

    « Thought I was in a 4 sta Boutique Hotel »

From across the street the hotel looks real nice, inside the lobby the décor is historic and very nice. The room was amazing, very clean, nicely decorated, was = to the room I had last week at the Bellagio in Vegas. Until I took a shower. The towels here were typical low end hotel quality.

« A perfect way to start our holiday »

An hour drive from LAX to this hotel in West Hollywood. It was easy to find, check in and park the car. Then we had a great room for 2 adults and 3 children that opened onto the swimming pool - the perfect start to our holiday. There are plenty of places to eat locally and breakfast was simple, but included in the room rate. We stayed because we wanted to visit universal city which is just 20 minutes away, so again that worked well.

    « Very nice Stay »

This was a very nice hotel. We pulled up right in front and they allow you to keep your car there while you go inside and check-in. The garages are actually around the block on a very dimly lit street. However, there were many many spots available, except around 1 or 2 am. The room itself was okay, I found it to be dimly lit. However, it was very clean and the sheets/bedding felt clean as well. The bathrooms were very clean and well stocked with great toiletries. The breakfast was not great, although they had a big selection, I felt it fell short in the taste department. Lastly, this hotel was in a pretty good location. Located right on sunset blvd it is near The Comedy Store as well as close walking distance to a few restaurants, we liked carneys LOL. However, we made a mistake because we were going to Disney and this was about an hours drive away from there.

« Fantastic hotel in a great location »

We stayed at the Best Western Plus for the last 3 nights of a 7 week trip and we were so surprised with how peaceful and relaxing the hotel was while still being in such a great location and close to everything we needed. Such a beautiful and clean hotel with very helpful staff. The buffet breakfast was not fantastic, but seemed to be on par with every other hotel breakfast we had while in the States. The pool was lovely, very clean and a great quiet spot to sit and relax. The gym did not have a lot, but enough that one should need while on holidays! The only issue we had at this hotel was that the laundry services were unavailable at the time, this was a bit of an inconvenience but the helpful staff at the front desk directed us to the nearest laundry facilities. The room service comes from the restaurant across the road, it was absolutely delicious ! Although I would recommend going to the restaurant rather than ordering in, it had a great atmosphere, fantastic food and friendly staff.

This hotel was a real surprise. I loved the location, room décor/essential options &staff reception. It was a great stay for the money. The fact that breakfast was included & they had a private inner pool, made this a real gem.

    « Hollywood visit »

We visited Hollywood to site see and visit our daughter. The hotel was very nice and competitively priced. The workout center needs some work. The breakfast was well worth it. If you had to get breakfast at a restaurant it may have cost $30 per person.

    « Charming peaceful hotel »

Our garden room was absolutely lovely. Good beds and ample space in the room make it very comfortable. The hotel is doing some renovations but they are trying not to disturb clientèle. A charming little hotel with a gorgeous pool area. Only complaint was that water pressure made it challenging to wash my long hair. Fabulous location, close to lots of things made it easy to get around.

The best hotel I've been to. I was staying there with my mom. It's a very nice place with beautiful decorations in the rooms. The staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. There are three garages with lots of place for everybody to park. Breakfast is great, there's a lot to choose from, especially those small omelets with spinach. Huge variety of tea and lots of coffee for everybody the whole day. Nice atmosphere. This hotel is incomparable to any other. Highly recommended.

    « Good Value »

Stayed here Oscars weekend so I expected it to be a bit busy and pricey but this place had the best deal price and location-wise. The reason I gave four stars and not five was because of the difficulty in just getting to the hotel. There were parked taxis taking up the entire front of the hotel making it impossible for actual hotel guests to stop and check in. We literally drove in circles for about 10-15 minutes for the curb to clear out which it never did. The hotel should've had someone clearing this area as a loading and unloading zone only and not for taxis to park until hotel guests decide to use them. The other reason I gave a negative star was because there were no directions for the self parking either. After driving in circles we finally had to call the hotel for help after being unable to check in at the front. We were instructed to use their self parking which is located on a completely different street towards the back of the property. Other than those issues the hotel was great. The room was a handicap accessible room which meant it had an open shower. Didn't really care. The room had everything we needed. Two comfy beds, mini fridge and a nice patio with a view of the pool. Would definitely stay here again now that I know to skip the busy front check in curbside.

« Great place in West Hollywood. »

Enjoyed our stay, close to all main tourist attractions, very good room and an excellent continental breakfast. Staff were very friendly and made us feel at home. The owner of the hotel even offered us lunch when we were waiting for our bus to go to LAX. I will stay at this hotel again.

« Perfect location if you want to explore Los Angeles »

The hotel is very well located in West Hollywood, the front desk staff is very attentive, helping with any information you need. The rooms are spacious and well clean. I traveled with my family, 4 people and stayed in a room with two king size beds and a small kitchen with a view to the pool. The hotel's best is the pool area, a small oasis in the turmoil that exists ouside. The only thing I did not like (I rated 4 in 5 ) was the breakfast, the room was too small to accommodate so many people, we had to use paper plates and plastic cutlery which I had never seen in a hotel before and the food was very poor, the scramble eggs were not fresh, the bacon were burnt, the croissants were not fresh..... Apart of that I would recommend this place!

    « Cement Wall »

Hotel is nice with a great little courtyard but if you get a room on one side of the property your view will be a cement wall. I asked for another room and they said they were full so could not do. Did send me a bottle of wine which was nice. For about $300 a night I expected to be able to see out the window.

« Gorgeous hotel, large spacious rooms, beautiful courtyard pool »

We stayed 2 nights while here for the Oscars. We arrived in the evening on a Saturday night. Very busy on the road in front. We were coming from the wrong direction and it took us about 15 minutes to find a way to turn around and come in heading from the other direction. Check in was fast and easy. Parking is $18/night and we had to drive a few blocks to get back around the building. The parking areas are well lit, but parking is tight. We were glad we had a compact rental! There are elevators and stairs to get you where you need to go from there. The lobby is quaint and inviting. We were in a 2 queen bed room. It was very large with a sitting area and small kitchen. Plenty of room to spread out. We loved the Juliet windows overlooking the pool area. We stay mostly in Marriott and Hilton hotels and we were very pleased with this room. Would certainly stay in again. Breakfast opened at 0700. Had cereal/yogurt/bagel and then eggs/bacon/sausage and a waffle station. They offered coffee and juices. The breakfast room itself was gorgeous and decorated with French Country decor. Although there are taxis parked outside we took Lyft to the Oscars (10) minute drive with traffic to Hollywood Blvd.

« Lovely hotel in a prime location »

I have actually stayed here a couple of times! Firstly the location is perfect, right next to many great places to eat, bars and clubs. Centrally located the hotel is also a short walk or bus ride to places like the Beverly Center, Melrose Ave, The Grove, L.A Farmers Market, and the Walk of Fame is only a short distance away too. It is also easy to travel by bus or take a short taxi ride to Rodeo Drv or Santa Monica. The hotel itself is clean, well decorated and quiet considering the busy location. The pool is lovely, complimentary breakfast is good, plus the staff are friendly and helpful. This is probably the nicest Best Western I have stayed at, and I would highly recommend it to any L.A. first time visitors or returning travelers who want a great hotel in a great location!

    « Great location ! »

The first thing that stands out about this hotel is the location, it's slap bang in the middle of sunset strip, if you're looking for nightlife, great food and some shopping it's perfect!! It's not quite as fancy as some of the hotels around, I've previously stayed at the andaz which is just over the road. As much as you get a swankier vibe from that hotel the isn't much else I'd say was better. Best western is much cheaper than most hotels in the area, it also comes with a lovely breakfast included in the price, which did seemed to get busier the later you made it, always got a table though, except for last day where we brought food to the pool courtyard to eat which was lovely, and limited me going up again for more pastries. the room we had was HUGE with a small kitchen area with microwaves, sink and fridge. Pool area was also beautiful however it seemed to catch the sun in mornings most and come afternoon would be in shade, so if you're coming to catch a tan maybe not best place. I am travelling back to west Hollywood this year and I am returning to this hotel! I guess that's the biggest compliment it can receive !

    « LOVED IT »

We stayed here from the 10-15th Feb 2015 and it was fantastic. The hotel is really nice and clean. Rooms are brilliant. Pool was fantastic. The recent renovations make it really nice and clean. The cleaners and staff are very friendly and the check in process was painless. when i'm back, i'm staying here for sure.

    « Not wheelchair friendly »

Upon arriving at the front of the hotel, there are steps to get inside the hotel. Steps to walk up without a ramp. When checking in there was no concern when I requested an accessible room. I politely asked for one when it became available, but was never contacted. When checking out I brought it up and they said there must have been miscommunication based on the remodel. The elevators were very tight for a wheelchair and we ended up only bringing one into the room because of room constraints. There is about 5 steps to walk up to get into the breakfast dining area so for wheelchair users it makes virtually impossible. We stayed 3 nights to attend a symposium at UCLA. This hotel was disappointing, there was no way to just stroll out the front door with the amount of stairs. The only way to exit by foot/wheelchair was the garage entrance and the down degree of that made it virtually impossible. It was disappointing that none of the staff ever addressed us, except the ladies in the breakfast lounge, who made sure to keep the hot foods well stocked, and the juices stirred. Not even when checking in was it expressed that they could be of service to just ask. They did discuss that there may be some light noise because of construction, but it was louder than what I would consider light noise.

    « Great stay »

My daughter & I stayed one night. she wanted to do all the Hollywood stuff before we traveled to my meetings. I couldn't believe how perfect the location was. We were close to all of it. Pool area is breathtaking. They did such a nice job landscaping. Most importantly our room was perfect. Updated & beautiful. Picture was taken from our window. Hotel staff were very friendly.

    « Best hotel during Grammy's weekend »

No hotels were available for a last minute room reservation when I tried to book a hotel during the Grammy's weekend. I was lucky to call the Best Western Sunset Plaza Hotel right after someone had cancelled so I was abke to reserve a room. It was only me and the room had two beds so I was going to be charged for the extra bed. When I arrived there was a single room available and the reservation clerk offered to give me the room instead. I accepted and he changed the amount the hotel had charged for the double room and gave me the room. I had a very nice stay and the room was great. I will definitely stay in this again in the future!

« California Sunset Plaza Hotel »

The pictures on the web site don't fib. This hotel is well furnished, clean, friendly staff, AND the pool courtyard is spectacular. Wonderful place to relax and unwind. Hard to believe the busy Sunset Strip is on the outside of the hotel.

    « Location, Location, Pool!! »

I was staying at the Standard, two doors down, and felt like I was in a cold Ikea showroom full of dingbat hipsters. Talk about Emporer's new clothes!! So for less money, I moved a few inches down the sunset strp, got a better bed, better pillows, normal people around... and a wonderful decent sized pool (rather than puddle to look at) and beautiful flower filled courtyard. You won't be bumping into any dorky models here, but you'll actually get a good night's rest and get some work done. Breakfast was basic, dishes sadly paper ( Come on guys! _ but there's plenty of places to go to eat a short walk away... including The Standard, just two doors down. I'll overlook breakfast. Location, location, comfort, pool!

« Great service, good bed, free wifi »

The place is convenient and not too far from the famous hollywood boulevard. Great restaurant just in front of it. Convenient parking in house, just some stairs to walk with the suicases, but staff was very helpfull. Also helped with getting tickets for local tour that starts just across the hotel.

« Great Choice for West Hollywood »

We chose this hotel because we wanted to be close to family who live near Sunset Blvd. The hotel was a great choice for the location we needed. At first I wasn't thrilled with the view out of our room's window, a cinder block wall, but honestly it was perfect because it was VERY quiet and great for sleeping in! The pool and courtyard were beautiful! The hotel was very clean and the breakfast offered in the morning was a pleasant surprise! Many choice, hot items and a nice atmosphere for starting the day. Internet was fairly decent. My only complaint was the staff was not very warm or outgoing. All our needs were met, but it was a very "in and out process" with no frills or niceties. I suppose tn the scheme of things, this wasn't a terrible thing, but a "hello' or 'have a nice day' would have been nice. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to a friend!

    « Good overnight stay »

Two couples stayed overnight at this hotel on Sunset Boulevard. Both rooms were on floor one and seemed to be newly remodeled and updated. We found the hotel to be quiet, quaint and very well appointed. The location on Sunset Blvd necessitates garage parking under hotel with access from the street behind hotel. If you are not familiar with parking in large urban areas with a unfamiliar rental car, the parking could be somewhat confusing. There is a single space registration parking spot in front of the hotel by the taxi stand to do registration and obtain info on how to find the underground parking structure. Check in was painless with friendly efficient desk clerks who proved to be extremely helpful with local information. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, some within walking distance or a short cab ride. Our rooms were very clean and well stocked with towels and linens. Family members that live in Long Beach came to visit and remarked when they saw our rooms they did not know what high quality Best Western accommodations had become. The outdoor pool and surrounding courtyard were also a plus. We had an enjoyable visit sitting in the courtyard and hated to leave the area. Our one night stay was certainly pleasant and capped off with an enjoyable breakfast. We had some appointments early on Monday morning and the convenience of the breakfast onsite was certainly appreciated and welcomed. I would definitely consider staying at BW Sunset Plaza Hotel again if in town for the sights of Hollywood.

« Under construction and needs more »

The first night we had a 2 room suite, with kitchenette - nice but cheaply furnished. The kitchen came empty, not even a cup. The bath was large with both a soaking tub and separate shower. After a day of touring we came back to find our windows covered in plastic. The front desk apologized and graciously moved us to another room. The second room had a balcony with a view. The furniture in this room was very worn - the chairs were so dirty and stained that I laid a towel down before sitting. The bathroom was very awkward - getting in the tub was difficult because the reach was so wide across. The front desk staff were helpful and remembered our names. The breakfast room was better than most Best Westerns - the offerings were the usual yogurt, waffles, packaged bagels and some fruit. The pool area is pretty, although we did not use the pool. The hotel has indoor parking which was very well lighted and very clean.

    « Great Hotel »

We really enjoyed our stay at The Bestern Plus on Sunset Plaza in LA. It was within a couple miles to a lot of attractions, plus had a great restaurant, Starbucks & a comedy club across the street. There was always taxi's out front, so never had to wait to go anywhere. The hotel was clean, had a great pool area & the room was big including a big bathroom with comfy beds. The staff was friendly & very helpful. Had a nice breakfast room. Made our trip easy!!

« My new home away from home. »

I love this hotel. The staff was wonderful, every staff member was smiling and pleasant. One morning I did not want to get up and go to the breakfast room and asked if they could bring me a few things. With out hesitation they did. This location is awesome. I loved my poolside room. The room was spacious.

« Very basic, but good for touristic "I wanna be on sunset strip" »

The hotel is very basic and a bit worn inside. But if you want to tell your friends "I stayed on sunset strip", and not to complain that you emptied half of your bank account to do it, it could work. No remarks to the staff - helpful and friendly. It has a decent-size pool inside the building, so it is quite green and peaceful. Cons: rooms very basic, worn out; breakfast is "more than basic", you have to elbow your way among other guests to see the food and take it to your table in plastic plates, and then eat with plastic forks; no decent coffee (which was the biggest problem for me personally); and forget about salmon or good piece of cold cuts).

    5
« Great location - just as nice as the Standard Hotel »

We booked a room in January and we wanted it to be a great location where we could walk to the bars. We paid $165 less per night than the Standard Hotel next door and I am glad we did. Great hotel! We ended up partying at the Standard for drinks which was okay. On a scale of 1-10 I would say their bar area is a 7. I wish the BW had a bar and I would have to say that was the only downfall but there are plenty of bars in walking distance. There is a great bar right across the street which is more like a saloon but we had a blast there and closed that bar down every night.

« Well located hotel in West Hollywood »

Friendly staff who were helpful with our queries for getting around Hollywood. Public transport - bus stops outside hotel on both sides of the road. YOu do need correct change for each trip. Day cards cannot be purchased on the bus. The map provided by the hotel had a few errors and could have been a little clearer with some directlons, however nothing too alarming and extremely helpful to get around. Centrally located with a 5 min bus trip to downtown Hollywood. 25 - 30 mins to Santa Monica. To get to Universal/Warner Bros its best to take a cab as there are several changes of bus (we did cab as it looked too confusing)

« well located, comfortable, pleasant small hotel »

We stayed here for three nights to be close to family in West Hollywood and we were very well pleased. It has a "Spanish stucco, old LA" feel but is modern and small enough to be a boutique hotel right on the sunset strip. We had a pleasant relationship with staff who proved to be very helpful to those who wanted to take some of the tours of Hollywood and general area. One can be picked up and dropped right at the front door. It seems the property is undergoing a "soft" remodel but we were totally unaware of any noise or problems. In fact, we thought our room was one of the redone ones but it was still the old decor but very nice. The bathroom was all marble and spotlessly clean. The building is shaped in a "U" configuration towards the back around a very nice swimming pool that is surrounded by colorful, pleasant lounges even if it is too cool to swim. The rooms overlooking the pool are quiet and have a bit of a view over the city of LA. We were on the Sunset Blvd. side of hotel which generated a fair amount of noise though the windows blocked most of the noise successfully. The self-serve breakfast they provide is one of the very best we've seen.....many choices and a pleasant eating area. Coffee and tea bar seem to be available 24 hours. There is a well-lighted garage under the building where you can park safely for a daily fee. We could not have been happier or more satisfied with our choice of lodging and will return again.

« Bad experience during renovation »

It was supposed to be a special night and many problems, including those related to the remodeling, negatively impacted our stay. Water didn't stay warm, thermostat didn't work properly, painters outside working from our balcony, watery eggs at breakfast, sparsely and poorly furnished/decorated 'luxury' suite. I could go on but it was just a bad experience.

    « Very impressed »

This hotel was So much more than we expected. We are a large family and were really impressed with the accommodations. We stayed in the 2 bedroom 2 bath suite and were amazed at how much room we had. We've stayed in a lot of hotels and this one in my opinion had the best breakfast for both the kids and us adults.

I booked a regular suit king size for five nighs in this hotel, when my husband and I arrived they gave us a room with a window that open to a wall, without any view. I asked them to give me another room, they did but it was with a queen bed, I returned the reception and asked for a room, like the one I booked and them they finally gave a room where I am going to stay. The window and warbrobe doors are broken. I had to leave the window open because of the smell of the room. I regret I chose this hotel.

« Great price for Luxury on Sunset »

I have always wanted to stay in Hollywood. I like Best Western because of its loyalty program and thought lets try it. We had a large suite with 2 queen beds and a sofa bed as well as a kitchen. Breakfast was also great but we made a quick trip to Starbucks across the street first. Not many tables in breakfast area so we sat by the pool and enjoyed the most amazing pool area. I though at night it looked amazing and it still does in photos. But nothing compares to enjoying your breakfast poolside with your family and taking in the breathtaking beauty of it all. I am so glad we stayed here and look forward visiting again. But for now Thanks for the great time and the memories.

    « Amazing »

My friend and I traveled to Los Angeles for a couple of shows at the end of 2015. We decided to stay in West Hollywood because it's location. After reviewing a few hotels we chose the Best Western Sunset Plaza. I am so glad we did. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was within walking distance to many restaurants, stores, gas stations, bars, etc. While we did have a rental car (garage was nice and not over crowded), we took the bus and a taxi often. Breakfast was always hot and plentiful. Our room was located on the first floor. It was nice and quiet and every time we got off the elevator we walked by the breathtaking courtyard. Our room was nice and cozy. We had a fridge & microwave which was a nice surprise. Our bathroom was a decent size and our beds were comfortable with the softest bedding.During my whole visit I kept telling my husband that I can't wait to take him and our boys there. I will most definitely be staying here again.

    « Nice but noisy »

If you are considering staying at this hotel, ask for a room on the higher floors as the lowest floor, under the pool, is extremely noisy. There was construction being done and other than the noise from the construction, I could hear every movement of the people staying above me or walking down the stairs. Other than that, the front desk employees were very nice. The breakfast was good, with all kinds of pastries, eggs, meats, waffles, oatmeal and drinks. There was one day that our room was not cleaned when we got back to the hotel at approximately 4pm to take a nap. Apparently they clean the rooms later in the day.

    « Above and Beyond »

To the Hotel Manager, January 2016: I wanted to take the time to thank you and, if I may, through you, to thank all the staff and personnel at the Best Western Sunset Plus for your superb hospitality and service during our stay in West Hollywood December 10th ? 13th, 2015. This was my first visit to California. I'd like to say a special thank you for being such an outstanding ambassador for your establishment and City! Despite the many offers I had received from other hotels via online travel portals, I could not be happier of OUR decision to stay with YOU. I have been racking my brain trying to find something negative about our stay. The view from our King, City View Suite Balcony was unprecedented. The morning breakfast was outstanding and exceeded all expectations. The in room features and hotel facilities were in top shape. On-site parking could not have been simpler. The convenience to the local tourist attractions and to our personal schedule was outstanding. My only advice is: just keep doing what you do. I also want to personally thank Mark Pope at the front desk. As we arrived in the midst of dealing with a wide range of situations that were not his to worry about, Mark took it personally to make sure our stay would not be hindered by our airline and baggage misfortunes. He even made my wife aware of the subtle difference between a surfer and a server. (Private 11:00pm joke) Having very small windows and specific needs for a whirlwind of business and personal functions to attend in a short 3-night stay, Mark took it upon himself to make our problems disappear. From taking over the communications with our airline to resolve the issue, handling parking arrangements, dinner reservations, and travel/commuting tips, Mark guided us every step of the way and went above and beyond what we could have ever be expected. I will definitely recommend your hotel to colleagues, friends, and family. We will be returning once again on business, and will most certainly add a few extra days for leisure at the Sunset Plus Hotel next time around. Thank you. Thank everyone. « Great hotel on Sunset Strip »

We stayed in West Hollywood to be close to attractions such as the comedy store- across the road. The Whisky, Viper room, The Rainbow Bar and Grill and The Roxy. On checking in the staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room was on the same floor as reception, beautiful room well maintained and cleaned, with a lovely view of the pool and courtyard. House keeping were spot on. Vending machines are locate on the lower floor, easily accessed- and when I had an ID10T error operating one of the vending machines staff send down the lovely maintenance man to resolve my issue. The only fault was the shower head in our room was shot and needed to be replaced- I totally forgot to mention this to staff. We had a late flight back home and staff were more than happy to assist us in the best option for a very late checkout which was tops! The hotel offers tour info and can book you on tours, we did one and it was marvelous- Venice beach Santamonica Hollywood walk the observatory to view the Hollywood sign movie star houses and film locations and more. The included breakfast we didn't have, however we checked out out one morning and it looked good. There were mixed reviews about this hotel leading up to when we stayed here, however I can't see why! This is a clean accommodating and welcoming hotel- full credit to staff and management! This is a hotel I would stay in again without a doubt! It's location on Sunset makes it easy to walk out of and enjoy what Sunset Strip has to offer.

We have stayed at a few different locations in West Hollywood and definatley agree for the price location we like this property the best. « I was left impressed ! »

The 'Best Western' label is misleading. It gives the impression of a regular chain hotel and this place is actually quite unique. The first thing you notice is the lovely reception area - its a mix of old fashion but also really cool and modern. Its hard to explain but I loved it. Very posh. Check in was easy and the staff were very friendly. Checked in at 11am and they had a room ready - bonus. The room itself was not huge, but not small - very comfortable beds, the pillows in particular were amazing. Bathroom nothing special but does the job. Tea and coffee facilities and an Iron/Ironing Board. All essentials these days. The breakfast is excellent - I've had so many bed and breakfast hotels where the breakfast is awful but this is a rare exception. In a nice little room behind reception, TV showing the news - coffee, juice etc at the ready. Bacon, eggs, sausages all available, pastries, toast and muffins there too. I loved it, probably ate a bit too much! The pool area is small but lovely. I was there for 4 days and there was never more than one or two people by the pool. Suppose theres too much to do in LA to be sat by a pool. But if you choose to, its a nice set up. Ive give it a 4/5 because there are sadly some bad points The room we had required a walk across the pool area and then down some stairs to a dungeon like set up. Id have preferred to stay in the main building or at pool level. LA is hot in general but while i was here it was VERY hot. The 'aircon' in the room is basically just a fan that blasts warm air around the room. Lastly, and this is likely not the fault of the hotel but it was a bit of a shock to get city tax and other charges added onto the hotel cost at the end - check your booking to see if these are included. Overall, if (when!) I'm back in LA, id happily stay at the Sunset Plaza again.

We stayed for two nights at this hotel and could not rate it more highly! From the moment we arrived, the staff could not have been more helpful! They were always available to assist any of our enquiries. The room was magnificent! Incredibly clean and spacious. Breakfast was included and was amazing. Tea and coffee available at all times for the guests as well as a computer with internet access. We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel! After requesting an early check in of 9am we were then invited to join in with that mornings breakfast even though it was not included in our booking. On our first day we were extremely jet lagged coming from Australia, and after a long walk through a really derelict neighbourhood we were worried we had chosen the wrong location for our stay. Then we discovered the amazing Saddle Ranch Chop House across the road and BOY did we change our mind. The cute interior of the BW and the half price happy hour at the Saddle Ranch combined with the amazing taste and atmosphere had us high-fiving! We'll definitely stay again!

visited with family and would definitely stay again. The hotel staff were excellent and accommodating with requests. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was awesome. Fresh waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, bagels, oatmeal and much more. A perfect way to start your busy day. The wifi worked throughout the hotel as advertised. Location was great and not far from most of the major tourist attractions. If your looking for a hotel away from all the hustle and bustle the best western plus sunset is perfect

Wonderful small bungalow style hotel on the Sunset Strip. I've stayed at this establishment several times and it has always been clean, quiet, comfortable and relaxing. Great value for the location and a great location.

Lovely hotel. Near lots of tourist sites. Staff was professional and friendly. Breakfast was great with plenty of choices! We changed rooms after first night and I accidentally left some jewelry behind in the first room. The cleaning lady tracked me down at the new room to return the jewelry to me. She was good to ask questions first to make sure the jewelry belonged to me. I hadn't realized yet that I have forgotten the jewelry, so I was very grateful to have it returned.Rooms were pretty and beds comfortable. Our room looked out on pool and courtyard. Lots of blooming flowers and windows that open up to let California sun and air into the room. Ask for a room that looks at the pool area.

    « why offer breakfast ?? »

Hotel was good for a Best Western but although they offer a breakfast don't bother !! the seating area is far too small so you either have to hang around and wait for ages or take the food to your room, but the worse thing is you only have paper plates and cups and plastic cutlery.

« Great location - nice outdoor area »

We only stayed for one night here, arriving late after 9pm. The concierge advised of some places to eat down to the left so we walked for approximately 10 minutes and found Mels diner. The room was big, nice bathroom, but there was a very strange smell which we hoped would dissipate when we returned, no such luck. Our friends had the room next door and they also had noticed the smell. As we only had one night there we decided not to make a fuss, but trying to sleep was difficult as it seemed to get to the back of the throat. After dinner, we went back to the hotel to find 24/7 coffee, and the facility to print the next day's boarding passes. The following morning we found a good varied and plentiful breakfast. We then asked for an extended check out and were allowed to keep the room until 13:00 instead of 11:00. We used the pool area to relax for a few hours before checking out. The $45 dollar taxi to the airport was a fixed rate, taxis were available outside.

Nice small hotel in good location of Beverly Hills. Hotel was clean and room was a decent size. Had a room opening to the pool which was ok, however, people put the pool chairs directly outside your hotel and sat drinking beers therefore you couldn't open the doors which lacked privacy. Breakfast basic but ok. Not sure we would stay in Beverly Hills again with young kids though.

Can't recommend this place enough. This is in a great location, close to everything and was clean. Awesome pool and outdoor area to chill in. The management and staff are very nice and made our stay fantastic. One in our party was ill so management extended our checkout time and allowed us to stay until 6pm free of charge. Definitely would stay there again.

« Quiet Retreat from the Chaos of The Strip »

Always a go to location for a great night in West Hollywood. Perfect spot on the strip as it is walking distance to everything. The property is great with well appointed rooms making this a great choice. The rooms are always clean, and quiet. The setting feels like an Italian Villa overlooking the pool and through to the LA skyline. I would recommend a pool level cabana room. French double doors open out to your own seating area poolside. Elevates the experience even more.

« Quiet, unassuming little hotel delivers great value »

We come to LA once or twice a year to visit family and always stay at this hotel. Pluses: excellent location (close to tourist areas but away from the craziness); small, manageable facility; excellent dining within a 10-minute drive; comfortable rooms; great pool patio surrounded by bougainvillea; good breakfast for the price (free!); friendly staff; convenient parking (at $18/day as of October 2016); easy check in/checkout. Minuses: can't think of any.

« Lovely hotel in good location »

I stayed at this hotel for the second time and it's just as good as it was a couple of years ago. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are well appointed and the hotel is in a nice pleasant area. Just over the road is the brilliant saddle ranch restaurant and the comedy store club. There is plenty to do and it's also only about $10-$12 taxi ride into Hollywood attractions. They run a shuttle bus to universal which leaves first thing in morning and they are opposite stop for hop on bus. This is a really good value hotel which you can't go wrong with!

Stayed here last week. This is our second time staying at this lovely hotel. We found no complaints whatsoever. It is very clean, spacious rooms, great comfortable beds, large bathrooms, excellent free buffet breakfast, great front desk staff, beautiful pool, decorated very lovely. I highly recommend this hotel for your Los Angeles stay however short or long it may be.

« THE place for West Hollywood »

We LOVED staying at this hotel - great location, esp for the gay scene - lovely old-world rooms, great balcony view, completely relaxing and the perfect place! Want to get back here soon! If you have a couple extra dollars, get a room with balcony!

« 'Old Hollywood' type vibe! »

We stayed here for two days on the way back from Oahu where we were married and this hotel was a nice end to our holiday (and honeymoon). It is good value for money considering its location on Sunset Boulevard and had everything we needed - friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, a nice breakfast and a lovely pool area. It is near to restaurants and bars (about 20 minutes walk up to main part of Sunset Strip with the Whiskey and the Rainbow etc and has the Ranchhouse opposite where you can get good food and drink and watch people fall off the mechanical bull! Personally, I absolutely loved the pool area as it is gorgeous with lots of flowers and a real 'Old Hollywood' type vibe which gave a fabulous end to our holiday.

    « Great Location »

Clean and cosy, well presented hotel and rooms. Staff are friendly and helpful. No bar or restaurant here - but plenty of places locally that will deliver food. Breakfast was included. This was our last night in USA and definitely the worst breakfast - everything was cold, dry, tough. Seems like a real fight to get a seat. Bus Stop straight outside. Car park charge of $18 a day. There's a pool but not many sunbeds. Unfortunately people who stay in the rooms next to the pool seem to think it's their personal area. If you see a towel saving a sunbed without anyone for 5 mins. Discard and settle down.Would be good if the staff cleared the towel every now and then.

    « We would stay forever ! »

My husband and I have stayed for the last 9 years at this wonderful hotel on Sunset Boulevard and I just never want to leave. Firstly the staff including Brenda and Carlos have been fantastic. When we checked in on 31 August this year, the gentleman on the front desk( sorry I didnt get his name ) said ' welcome back '.. He didn't even ask for our name !! That is impressive and welcoming after so much travelling from the North of England. As regular guests , we are so lucky to be allocated poolside rooms on the 1st floor. Waking up to sunshine and the most tranquil pretty pool/ garden is heavenly . The rooms are huge with a separate kitchen area and fridge, which is priceless when you are staying for such a long duration as we stay. Our first day is usually going to CVS on the corner of Santa Monica and La Cienega Boulevard and stocking up on supplies.... ie wine and beer... 5 litres of Chardonnay for 11 USD..!!! Housekeeping are the most polite and friendly we have ever known. The rooms are immaculate every day when we return . The gentlemen staff who keep the pool area work so hard. The garden is constantly kept tidy of all of the petals which fall from the gorgeous trees around the patio doors and windows of the rooms. But their talent doesn't end there. In the last few years , we have had a hairdryer that broke and a tap which we couldn't turn off... We called the front desk and they were there within minutes to solve our problems! Thanks guys.. We never eat in the breakfast room because the pool area is so much nicer to enjoy your breakfast. We stayed in another hotel on Sunset before we discovered the Best Western and there was no breakfast included, so to be able to have a choice of yoghurt, fruit, eggs, cream cheese, bacon, coffee etc is a true bonus in the USA. My husband has had several items delivered to the hotel which US companies won't deliver to the UK . The hotel are fine with this and even bring them to your room when they arrive. We love the Saddle Ranch across the road, especially bartender Mark who we have now known since around 2005 . Trocadero a few minutes walk away has a lovely atmosphere and great happy hour 6-8 every night on all drinks and appetisers . When we have been out on an evening and come back to the hotel, open those doors and sit out , it is like my little heaven on earth. Thanks again Sunset Plaza, hopefully see you next year !

« The Grand Marigold Hotel experience! »

If you've seen the movie you'll understand where I'm coming from. Nice looking hotel, good pool area, staff helpful and accomodation clean, 15 min walk to main bus line. Here's the BUTS, noisy air con that rattled and hissed to an airline noise, so if you have flown in, you may dream you're still on a plane. The rooms and spaces felt like they were ready for a make over, so it's a little tired looking. All the lifts and hallways were unpleasantly hot with no air con, so wear layers. Breakfast very cafeteria like with disposable plates, plastic cutlery and not enough room. We noted several guests just leave due to the lack of space. If you're not fussy and happy with a three star, the location is fine, staff helpful and room clean so I would still recommend. Bonus is the Starline hop on and off has a stop right across the road.

    « Beautiful hotel »

I stay at the Best Western Sunset plaza during my stay at the end of September and it was a great visit. Checkin was a breeze and the view was great. I stayed in a room over looking the beautiful pool. The room was simple yet nice and spacious for 2 people. I found no issues with my room. There was a mini fridge and a microwave in the room that came with a bottle and wine opener which is a plus. The hotel offered free breakfast from 7 am - 11am. The dining area seem to get packed very early so seating was not an option but you can always take the food back to your room. Breakfast included, waffles, cereal, eggs, regular bacon, Canadian bacon, danish, cereal, toast, yogurt and fruit. The hotel was within a good proximity to downtown and there are a few restaurants within walking distance. Overall I had a very positive experience and would definitely stay again.

« Good Hotel in Hollywood- but pricey- great location. »

Very nice hotel near the heart of Hollywood, California. The rooms were excellent. Very clean. Comfortable. Safe. Renovated not so long ago. Service was great. Had a problem with the air conditioner but maintenance was right on top of it. Front desk personnel helpful and courteous. Free breakfast. But the hotel is extremely pricey probably because of the location in Hollywood. On top of the over $300 a night room charges there is an $18 a day charge for parking. Very popular hotel seems to sell out on a regular basis.

We stayed at the hotel for a total of 7 nights and had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and we found the room clean and spacious. The free wifi and breakfast was excellent. The location is great and close to shopping and Hollywood. We are returning in November 2016 and look forward to another excellent stay. Cheers

We had never been West before and put it on our bucket list. Spent 25 days on the road. Stayed at Best Western Sunset for 4 nights Spectacular. We requested a pool view and they gave us 1st floor with French doors to pool. Could have stayed forever. Location is great, close to everything we wanted to see. Some of the best prices I found in Hollywood for what you get. Not typical looking hotel rooms.

    « Decent Hotel »

This hotel is in a great location and has an amazing pool deck, which we loved. the cooked breakfast didn't look very appetising, so we stuck to the continental. The staff were friendly, but local knowledge was a bit hit and miss. For Virgin customers I would advise you to specify a room overlooking the pool deck. Ours was on the outside and as the hotel is built into a hill our window looked onto a concrete wall.

    « Above and beyond! »

We regularly stay at Best Westerns and find that they often are mediocre. I was nervous about this one because I booked it as part of a surprise birthday trip for my husband. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotels location and cleanliness. Located directly on the Sunset Strip, close proximity to everywhere and easy access to all of Hollywoods culture and nightlife. Staff were great. The pool is beautiful! And the rooms are well appointed with lots of room, mini fridges and microwaves. The complimentary breakfast was enough... Although not awesome. We ate a few meals at the Saddle across the street. An amazing experience every time. Expensive for sure but delicious and the environment was great. We enjoyed a serenade by a talented duo who rocked some Jimmy Hendrix and then some Bob Marley. We would go back to this hotel in a heart beat if we decide to visit the area again. Everything a person needs and more.

« Good hotel in great location »

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in September. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. We had a large room which overlooked the pool. The room had two double beds, a small kitchen area with a fridge, sink and microwave and a large bathroom. Everything was very clean and well kept. The air con worked very well, as did the wifi. We had the complementary breakfast every morning and found it to be good, in comparison to some other hotels we stayed at on our trip. We found the hotel to be very well located, especially for restaurants and bars. Just a couple of things let this hotel down. First, the charge on parking. No paying guest should have to pay extra for parking, although I realise this is common in the U.S. Second, we tried to use the laundary room one day to find the soap dispenser was out of washing powder. When we asked at the desk, they directed us to buy powder from the nearest store. Unfortunatley this meant that we had to buy a $7 box of washing powder and leave it at the hotel for other guests to use (we couldn't take it with us), when we should have only had to spend $1.50 on washing powder. Good customer service would have been for staff to go out and buy some powder for guests to use or at least to reimburse us for what we bought.

« Great Location to explore Hollywood »

Stayed at this hotel for 11 nights, on our last full day today, had a fantastic stay, the management and staff just couldn't do enough for you, certainly made to feel very welcome. Access to anywhere is so easy from this hotel, No 2 bus stops outside hotel and it's a short ride (about 15 mins) to Sunset and Highland which is the stop for Hollywood Boulevard. Thanks to everyone for making our stay a very pleasant one.

« Nice amenities but really bad breakfast »

My room was huge and the hotel is clean and with a very nice appearance. What disappointed me was the breakfast: very few options, the fruit was really low quality, no ham, no cheese and only really non-healthy options. For this price, the hotel should definitely rethink the breakfast it is serving guests.
