Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay at this Best Western location. The staff was helpful, friendly and polite and worked efficiently with every interaction from making our reservation with a group by phone, requesting a late checkin and checking us in promptly after midnight! The room and hotel overall were well maintained and very clean. The value of our stay far exceeded the cost of our room.

The upper hallway when we arrived was hot and smelled of cooked cabbage! Yuck! This got better the next night and day. Our room did have a nice big balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains z that was my favorite thing about our stay. Breakfast was just ok and should have regular sausage instead of Turkey sausage. All the vending machines for drinks and snacks were empty. This needed attention. Overall just a very average stay.

This BW Plus was very nice. Our room was excellent, We had a balcony room with a great view. The room was large, had a microwave and refrigerator. The room was very clean. We only stayed one night but we were very satisfied with the room. We had good sleep here. Check-in and check-out experience was good. The breakfast area is a little way away front the front desk and elevator however, it is very large and could serve as a reception area for any event. The breakfast offered was good. The breakfast area was clean. The parking area is well lit at night and has plenty of parking spaces. The location of the hotel is good. We enjoyed staying here. We will definitely stay here again if in the area.

I usually stay at the HoJo's down the road. This was so much nicer, albeit it more expensive. For some reason they seem to be migrating toward pancakes away from the waffle makers. I missed the waffles.

We stayed here while in Lexington for a wedding. We were very happy with the hotel. The rooms were clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was good, the staff at breakfast was very attentive. Staff at the front desk was helpful, but not very friendly. It would have been nice to have more outdoor seating in a shady area. The views outside the hotel are beautiful. The only real complaint is that after we checked in and went to our room. We could not get the door open. My husband went back downstairs to the front desk and they told him that the door handle was put on upside down and you need to turn the handle up to get in. I think this is something they should have told us prior to us going up to the third-floor and having to come back down again to find out. This could all be avoided if whoever put the handle on wrong just turned it around and fixed it.

The hotel was clean, staff were friendly and we had a great experience. It was also pet friendly which made it a lot easier for my family to have our dog with us on the move-in adventure. We will be back for parent's weekend and look forward to spending more time here.

Booked this hotel from a referral from Holiday Inn Express which was full. Used TA reviews before booking a room using the app. Nice property with a lovely view. Stayed on 2nd floor. Quiet. Visited Devils Backbone Brewery just down the road.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, clean facilities, internet and TV worked well, beautiful grounds and view, full complimentary breakfast. The pool looked so inviting although we didn't get time to swim.

We stayed here earlier this week and unfortunately were disappointed in Best Western this trip. We are sure that all the staff work very hard and they were friendly. However, our room on the ground floor was very dated and disappointing. The room had a very musty smell (perhaps from pets) and was dusty. We thought the smell would clear quickly as we had the balcony door open but overnight it remained a very unpleasant smell. The door to the room was also very stiff/difficult to open which felt unsafe in case of emergency and the safe was broken. When we were there the pool was closed for maintenance. It would have been polite and respectful to guests if the staff had mentioned it on arrival or put a sign in the lobby instead of us (and other guests with kids) discovering it once you are changed and standing at the pool door. It said it was due to storm damage (which can always happen) but the water colour made us suspect it has been closed for longer. If you want to swim I would check in advance if it is open. On the plus side the breakfast was good. Bathroom shower good too. We mentioned all of this to staff on departure. We hope we were just unlucky this time and that other guests get a different room and have a better experience. We don't mind things being dated if it is clean.

The hotel staff was very accommodating, Especially Betty, May and Ben who work the morning breakfast. They were always vey friendly, kept the place clean and even gave my children rubber duckies. Thanks.

The hotel looks good from outside but very dated when you enter. The decor & furniture in common areas and in the room needs upgrades. The hotel is pet friendly and I am dog owner so that was not an issue but it felt like the room should have some type of air purifier or purification system. My allergies (eyes itchy & red, scratchy throat) started as soon as entered the room. There should also be stations for dog owners to clean up after dogs. There was lots of feces in grassy areas. The lighting in the bathroom was dim and the shower head needs to be replaced. The sofa was worn with spots & was not comfortable to sleep on. I chose the size of room based on number of people. The teen was going to sleep on sofa but was not comfortable using the sofa & slept in bed. The television was outdated, the picture quality was poor & the remote didn't work well. For the price paid, I was very disappointed with the quality of the hotel. The upstairs guest had child running for hours at a time & it disturbed my rest. Definitely not peaceful stay. Suggest families with young children stay on 1st floor.

I would not recommend. The price was over double the amount of any other hotel I stayed at along my cross country trip. WAY OVERPRICED. The room smelled like feet. Bathroom was dirty. No USB charging outlet.

Clean, very nice hotel with excellent friendly staff. Reservation was easy online. Check in and check out were simple and quick. Nice view of the Valley. Well lighted and safe parking lot. Close to restaurants and Walmart. And NO homeless people wandering around. It was great.

I was in Lexington for a Dog Agility Trial at the VA Horse Center. I have stayed in hotels while traveling for dog events for the past 4 years. I have had some scary, dirty or plain miserable all around hotel stays during those years. I was so happy to have found this hotel! A definite winner!

We had an amazing experience in the breakfast bar. Betty assisted us throughout the breakfast time and was so kind and helpful. Thank you Betty so much for a great service. I would definitely be back again!

I didn't check in til sometime around 3 am I called the customer service number from the parking lot because my app wouldn't work because the time of morning that I was trying to use it. I also was goi g to use points towards the amount and pay the difference with a card the representative on the phone was very nice and told me about the promotion if you stay 4 separate times you earn 1 free stay I think between then and February. She asked if I just wanted to stay 1 “night being that morning and explained that I would be checking out at 11am which was approximately 8 hrs away” or would I light to reserve the 2 nights and check out on Sunday? I explained I was only there because of an emergency with my company and wasn't exactly sure how long I would be working that day and if I would be going home or what was in-store for the next 24 hrs. I stay at Best Westerns frequently well I use to choose to stay very frequently but the last couple stays were undesirable to say the least but was going to give the one at Lexington VA a chance since it was a Plus and I could deplete my earned points at least. I have paid for late check outs in the past and knew that sometimes depending on future reservations and situations that they aren't always available the representative told me she could not set it up but when I arrive at the hotel to ask the front desk and they could see if it was possible or not. I thanked her and explained that I was actually already in the parking lot and was going to walk in once done with our phone call she finished up with my reservation and credit card info and gave me the confirmation number. I grabbed my bag and headed into the main lobby I was greeted by a very friendly gentleman and explained that I had just made a reservation on the phone with there customer service and he tried to look it up I guess where it had just literally took place a min or two before I entered the building it hadn't showed up in there system. He apologized and I told him all ways good and that I had a confirmation number so we gave it a few mins and he tried again and immediately found it. I showed him the credit card that I had gave her for the deposit and requested to pay the difference in cash that I owed from not having enough points to cover for the stay. He was very accommodating and as I was counting out my cash I remembered to question if it was possible to have a late checkout.

Get the hamburger! It is the most amazing burger ever! Maddi is an absolute angel and was so sweet and patient with my two littles :) It's always a great time and a great meal at the Hunt Room! Drinks are great too!

I g=have stayed at this locations occasionally over the past ten years. It has maintained a level of comfort and cleanliness and service which I find to be the best available. I try to stay at Best Western Plus because they allow our small dog, and they appear to have very high standards - but this one exceeds expectations.

Staff was friendly & very helpful. Room was adequate size with everything I needed available. The only down-side was the time that breakfast was open. Had to leave before 7:00 AM each day & breakfast wasn't open at that time.

My Wife and I stayed at this Hotel during My 45th Class Reunion at VMI. Overall it was an excellent hotel. The Fitness Room, Pool and Breakfast were very nice. Good parking area. the elevators were working and very smooth. Very Friendly Staff. We will return again. I may Bring my Dragon Force National Karate Demo Team and Black Belts from Ryoshin-Kan Karate School to this Hotel, for a special event.

This is the second time in two years we've stayed at this hotel. It has been great both times. The girl is in a good location with a friendly staff. And the hotel is ag ood price with nice rooms. We would stay there again.

This hotel charges an inordinately high daily rate when compared to the quality of the guest room. The guest took shows wear and tear, things that could be remedied with a little attention to detail. The biggest asset was the staff who were friendly and attentive. The daily rate was about twice what it should have been considering the quality of the guest room.

Avoid this property. Our room smelled like mold even after cranking AC for awhile. Rooms and bathrooms are old, tired and dirty. Our room was barely cleaned. Rug had previous guests crumbs all over it. Bathroom same thing including hairs! My wife and I slept with our clothes on and left bright and early next day. Property sold out due to parents weekend at local college. Front desk couldn't move us to new room and couldn't or wouldn't send someone to re clean room. Multiple people in lobby were composing about cleanliness of there rooms. Obviously this motel is understaffed and can't keep up. Do yourself a favor skip this BW+. It's gross inside.

We stayed here for one night to visit our daughter at W&L. The Hotel is clean (except the floor lamp in our room was dusty on the base) and the room was comfortable. They had coffee, juice, water (both filtered and bottled) apples and bananas out all day. No reason not to stay here especially for the price. Our stay was a little pricey for a Best Western but there was limited availability and BW was a bit less than what else was available.

Great breakfast, shabby worn room. Room service sucked. It took 2 days to get fresh towels. Linens were worn and outdated. Two beds and 2 different bed covers. I was overcharged and underwhelmed. Will stay elsewhere in the future.

We have stayed here for about 13 years and the hotel never disappoints. The staff is very friendly. Deborah at the front desk is very accomodating and enjoys chatting. Betty and Linda who handle the breakfast are wonderful people and very pleasant. The rooms are very comfortable. Try to get one with a balcony as the views are very nice. The hotel is convenient to the horse center where you can watch competitions for free. Jonathan the mnager is very nice also. The breakfast is very good- scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuites, homemade sausage gravy, cereal, pancakes, coffee and juice. Sometimes they have omelets . The rooms are clean. The beds are comfortable . The hotel is very quiet. We like the third floor. We had a very enjoyable stay and will stay there again .

We stayed at this hotel since it was number two on the list of best hotels to stay at in the area. But we were severely disappointed. The first room we were given the bathroom lights didn't work and the front desk guy didn't know how to change the light bulbs. The towel bar fell off the wall while we were standing there. Stains all over the carpet, holes and stains on the couch. The second room we were given still had stains on the carpet and on the couch but at least the bathroom lights worked. The water out of the sinks tasted like mold and mildew. We're not sure if it was the local area or the hotel itself that created that issue. We had a visitor at 3:00 a.m. that somehow had the key to our room and we were jolted awake by the sound of our door being flung open. Thankfully we had the top slide lock on that prevented them from walking in the room 100% and when my husband asked through the door they claimed they were given that room. Is that an error on the front desks part? An attempted burglary? The breakfast was ok, nothing amazing. But we would not recommend it and will not be returning.

Tripadvisor is generally a pretty reliable source for helping you pick a decent hotel, but every now and then you come across an aggregate rating that leaves you scratching your head. The 4.5 star rating for Best Western Plus at Hunt Ridge is one of those. We've been traveling for over a month now, and this is probably the worst property of the dozen or so that we've stayed at so far. Basically, the biggest problem is that the room was filthy. Dust everywhere, worn, stained furniture, toilet ring, and the tub had soap scum thick enough to carve a message into with your finger nail. My traveling companion was disgusted enough that she refused to take a shower, although I went ahead because I had sweated so much that on balance I would come out of the shower cleaner than when I went in. Regarding the alarm clock question below, we did have one, but the display no longer worked, rendering it useless. Very disappointing, and definitely one property that will not be visiting again.

I understand that with limited staff everyone is attempting to do their best. However, this hotel has sadly fallen into disrepair. The first night we arrived, we found the sink to be clogged. Asked the front desk for help, they said that the maintenance person had left for the day and could not come back. Offered to move us to a new room, new room was not a suite therefore too small for our family of 5. We went to Wal-mart to buy drain cleaner, which worked, but not something we should have had to do. Next up, the room, the mattress are old and uncomfortable, with minimal sheets and no mattress protector (creepy!) The carpets are stained and there is a musty/dirty smell to the room. Tub is stained from one too many years of use, towel racks are falling off the walls. The pool... the entire reason we booked this hotel! The pool was dirty with cloudy water. There was no chlorine smell which made me a bit concerned especially with all the small children that were in the pool. Also this is a very pet friendly hotel, apparently including the pool. There was literally a dog swimming around the pool. The dumpsters are right next to the pool seating area outside, that made for some lovely smells in the hot summer sun. Breakfast was pretty typical of this type of hotel, nothing exciting. The staff working the breakfast were fantastic! Even saved us by getting us ice when all the ice machines in the hotel broke down on our second day. Finally, the front desk people were nice, but young and pretty much clueless. This place looks great from the outside, but do not bother getting a room here, it's way too expensive for what you are getting.

The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and helpful when we checked into our room. The room was clean, and we had no problems with our stay. We enjoyed the breakfast in the morning, and I got a chance with some other travelers while eating. An overall very good experience.

I've never stayed a Best Western before and probably won't be back. We booked two rooms for one night. The hotel looks fine from the outside but the rooms were dated and pretty dirty. Upon entering our room, there was a strong musty smell. The AC had a hard time cooling the room down as well. The bathroom wasn't clean, there was still hair in the shower, and the sink didn't drain. Also the toilet was barely bolted to the floor - very wobbly! The carpet was dirty enough that my feet got dirty after I took a shower. Breakfast was okay and the staff was friendly, but I can't do an unclean room.

The whole room was dusty and dingy. The shower above us leaking into our toilet. Sat down on a wet seat in the middle of the night. Grime and dirt build up in the corners of the bathroom. Rusted parts in the bathroom. Carpet was full of stains and disgusting. The ac unit didn't cool the room. The next morning someone was smoking on our floor. Guests were loud and slamming doors throughout the night.

We picked this because it had a good, last minute rate, and a significantly better review than other comparably priced places. We checked in after dinner, and left at 6:30 next morning....no breakfast, no amenities.......so the room was fine, it was quiet, the AC worked but was noisy, the shower was fine....

We stayed overnight while traveling on vacation. The employee at the front desk was friendly, as were the employees in the dining room the next morning. The room was quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. However, the room needed updating. The bathroom wasn't well lit, and the water pressure in the shower was terrible. The complimentary breakfast was adequate. I completed the survey emailed by Best Western; and they did reply to my review. In my opinion, Best Western has done a good job of remaining family friendly.

Our room was dirty. Debris on the carpet indicated it had not been thoroughly vacuumed. Your feet got black from walking on the carpet. Found hair on the bed sheets. Light fixtures were rusted. Cracks and crevices in the room were dirty. Curtains were ripped. The room smelled. The door had to be kicked to get it to close all the way. There was only ONE place to plug in a phone. And, given all this, the room was WAY TOO EXPENSIVE.

I have yet to experience such a happy staff, that despite the very busy demanding needs as the flow of guests have increased after COVID lockdown, they all are trying to deliver the best service ...JUDY as the leader in Executive Housekeeping is responsible for this! SANDRA in housekeeping, in which I have know for years, is invaluable, as well as DAKOTA & JAMIE. The front desk, ( wish I had gotten their names) are a pleasant team for welcome, and the Breakfast staff with MARY, and other sweet women, make your morning a great start! Thank you all! Very pretty location with nice staff and breakfast area, pet friendly, but the bathroom floor edges and baseboards were filthy. Also the sink did not drain well. But the beds were comfortable and we slept well.

Generally these are not real fancy and the price reflects this. They are generally clean and pleasant places to stay. We have enjoy most Best Westerns we have stayed at, and always book a few whenever we are in those areas.

Room was clean, breakfast hot and well-maintained in a spacious area quite capable of social distancing. Parking was plentiful with plenty of room for our trailer. Good value for the money. Would stay again.

There is nothing more frustrating than planning a trip to treat yourself and picking out what looks to be a nice hotel, you pay extra to get a nice room and then it turns out to be a sh_t hole. This was unbelievable. I even complained and they didn't offer anything. Don't stay here !!! Absolutely sickening. I seriously think they put us in a room that they had switched out the towels and that's it. They didn't clean it.

I was very unhappy with my stay. Bathroom was dirty and had hair in tub and on the floor. Dust was all over the room. Stains all over the floor. Breakfast was okay but they had the same thing every morning with no variation and very little seating. When I asked for the room to be cleaned and fresh towels they did not do it and when asked why they just said it was "overlooked" and were not helpful in trying to fix the issue. I appreciate that everyone is understaffed but a hotel stay is expensive and I expected better service and cleanliness.

Stayed at Best Western Plus while here to see the Rodeo. Check in was great. I had 2rooms and both of them were side by side on the first floor. They had fresh fruit at the check in desk which is available if you want some. They have a drink room that has coffee, tea, and juice if you want it. There are also vending machines there if you want a soda or candy. The room was clean and there were no problems with the room. If you are there for an event at the Virginia Horse Center is is really close to it. The breakfast had scrambled eggs, sausage, gravey and biscuits and cereal, yogurt, and juices. Everything was good. There are restaurants close by, a Walmart just down the street and it is close to drive into Lexington. I would stay here again

This is a nice hotel. Very friendly staff. A bit away from town but still convenient. I've stayed here perhaps a dozen times during the past few years. It offers a consistent level of good service. No problems.

The room was comfortable and clean. Check-in was quick and friendly. The lights were oddly wired and we couldn't figure out the trick to get them on without calling the front desk. Everything was as expected, just a bit dated compared to the more recent places we have stayed that were the same brand.

I noticed one reviewer mentioning Applebee's next door and other comments that probably refer to the other Best Western in Lexington. The Hunt Ridge location is excellent and worth far more than we paid through an online service. It was also great to have a manger whose son attended VMI and was very helpful. My wife and I will not even consider another hotel on our return to Lexington.

Definitely an older hotel. The beds were very nice, but the room was not clean (dirt on floor/rug and bathroom needed a better cleanse). I have stayed at this hotel 2x a year for the past 10 yrs and its definitely slipping.

The Best Western Plus at Hunt Ridge is an older facility.....it doesn't look as good from the outside as it is once you get inside. The rooms are accessed from the outside (with a motel feel) but they were well maintained, very clean and comfortable with great beds and bedding, nice light fixtures, etc. The room had plenty of space and was what we needed. Nice refridge, good shower, everything was great. And having an Applebees right next door was a plus.

The staff is wonderful and accommodating. The women working in the breakfast area were particularly wonderful. But if the owner doesn't shell out some money for some basic maintenance, this hotel is going to become a dump really quickly. My family stayed there for three nights. In the mornings, we were woken by people in the hallways talking. They were talking at a normal volume but we could hear everything word for word. On the third night, someone stayed in the room above us and I could hear their steps everytime they moved. It kept me up. Furthermore, I've attached a picture of the condensation on the window every morning. That water is going to create a mold problem really soon. In other words, management needs to invest in decent insulation-- for the walls, the floors, and the windows. The mattresses had no mattress covers and very cheap, thin linens. I had two little kids sleeping on that mattress. Either one of them could have peed, and without a cover, the mattress would have been ruined for the next customer. It's absolutely disgusting and ridiculous that a waterproof pad isn't standard practice for a hotel. Everything about this hotel said $75-90/night. If I had only paid that much, I don't think I'd be leaving this review. But I paid close to $150/night and this hotel is not nearly nice enough to warrant the price tag.

This is a clean and well appointed motel just outside the historic town of Lexington. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful. The only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars pertains to the hotel's location. It is located outside Lexington proper and we didn't notice any restaurants (that weren't fast food) nearby. But a great place to hang one's hat and we would definitely stay here again. Take some time to stroll through central historic Lexington and the bucolic Univ. of Virginia hillside campus. Note the stark contrast between this lovely setting and the stark northerly entrance dominated by the fortress/prison-like Military Institute. Enjoy some coffee from the local coffee shop near the UofV campus in downtown Lexington.

they are all so kind and helpful. front desk is always willing to see things get done to make your visit better.. The breakfasts are great my kids love them and the inside outdoor pool is great. cant say enough good things about this place top of the hotels in area.

First off all staff was friendly and tried to help. BUT this place was not worth the price paid. Extremely dirty. Stains on carpets, an inch thick of dust and food wrappers behind furniture. The area behind furniture is accessible to clean I might add. Curtain on window unhooked and falling. Microwave filthy and the bathroom was disgusting. First thing I found was a blob of mucous on the floor with hair in it. Housekeeping came into to clean it after I complained but it was still not even close to clean! I ended up complaining again and this time just said give me the stuff and I will clean. Which I did! Got on my hands and knees and scrubbed floor and tub to make it acceptable to use. The absolute only reason we did not leave was we were exhausted from our drive and had to be right over to the horse show so had no time. Front desk said they would give a discount. It was a measly $50 off of a $ 500 dollar plus stay! Another person in our party left and checked in to a different hotel. Honestly it was one of the dirtiest places I have stayed . Ironically when youncheck.in they have a TV screen up showing Covid cleaning practices. Save yourself the hassle and stay elsewhere.

Hotel is close to the freeway and near a Ruby Tuesday restaurant (though it is a long walk if you don't want to drive). Room is spacious and includes a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker. The woman at check-in was cordial but not particularly friendly (and was not wearing a face mask). The woman at check-out was much nicer. My room had a bolted door that could connect it to the adjacent room and this transmitted noise from the adjacent room. I could hear their television through the door and hear their conversation almost as if we were in the same room. There was also a very, very faint cigarette smell which may be left over from years ago when smoking was allowed in hotels. Although the hotel is decent, I would not stay here again. There are similar hotels down the block and that would be within easy walk of the restaurant, so I would stay at one of those next time.

Clean room, allows pets with a $20 deposit, nice staff, soda and snack machines, small business center, workout room and free light breakfast. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee machine in the room which was great. The staff was very accommodating. Plenty of parking and places to walk your dog.

This property has potential but it is not a PLUS establishment. The grounds are poorly maintained, the pool had dead planters filled with nothing but cigarette butts. Our first room, the AC did not work and the second room the toilet clogged and overflowed, we were handed a plunger with a plastic bag and told it was wet because someone had already used it that morning. The ladies at the front desk were nice, but none of them wore masks. I dont know if i would stay here again, the staff and budget are lacking.

My wife an I spent two nights at the hotel. The property seemed a little worn and could use some updating. Our air conditioning unit made quite a racket, but they fixed it as soon as we mentioned the problem. The breakfast (included) was pretty standard for roadside hotels. Front desk staff was very friendly.

Disappointing! If you like powdered eggs, cheap sausage patties, god-awful coffee, etc… then stay here. This is an old, but fairly well-taken care of hotel. We stayed in Room 325, which had an unusually LOUD RATTLING Air Conditioner and no one got any sleep! Again, disappointing as we paid $179 for our room. Update 23 August by Owner? - They use heat & serve eggs, which were horrible! No response to fixing rattling air conditioning. Again… look elsewhere for a good night's sleep and better food… because you won't find it here and you'll pay a PREMIUM for a non-quality hotel! Someone is cheating by skimping on maintenance & food costs (my opinion)! I've stayed in many Best Western's but this was a new low! Low price motels would be a better choice! This hotel is cheating customer's by not performing normal maintenance & serving terrible food (my opinion)!

We stayed at this hotel during our family one night getaway. The room was very nice, beds including the sofa bed was comfortable, location was perfect and the breakfast was good. Our kids really enjoyed the pool as well!

The room was dirty, multiple disconcerting carpet stains, thick spider webs on the balcony. Rooms need renovation. Hotel staff banged on our door Sunday at 9:30 and 10 am despite the do-not-disturb sign to see if we'd departed. We felt rushed and unwelcome.

This hotel was very well maintained, very clean and in a beautiful location. I was travelling with my 90 year old mother and found the hotel a bit lacking in the handicapped offerings (parking too far from the entrance and no handicapped rooms available). They were also pet friendly which was a real plus since we love to take our pets when travelling.

Stayed one night after driving all day. Room had a very strong animal odor in it. Question if specific room you are getting ever had animals in it. The toilet bowl was not properly bolted to floor and I was not sure if bowl was going to tip with me sitting on it. For breakfast, although it is included in price of the room has plastic eggs that I could not consume. Although this is expected with these “free” breakfasts, others have been able to make the fake eggs more palatable.

Hotel room was filthy- there were bugs and mold in the bathroom. It was so humid the sheets felt sticky even with the AC as low as possible. Terrible musty odor in the room and too hot outside to open a window. Overall very disappointed with the cleanliness of the room.

Hotel room was clean and spacious. The AC system worked well, the room was nice and cool. Indoor and outdoor pool. Great breakfast, hot eggs, sausage and biscuits and cereals and yogurt. The only negative was some noise in the hallway in the late evening.

All employees were friendy. Breakfast selection was great, food was hot, and Breakfast area kept very clean. On site washer/dryer was very convenient. Highly recommend! Will definitely stay here again

Have become a big fan of the Best Western Plus Brand. With it recent construction and size of the rooms it is just a terrific experience. As an added bonus we were able to stay in a balcony room offered at this location. Add in a terrific front desk experience and you have a winner

We didn't know the entire hotel was pet friendly. We asked for a room change due to pet odor in first room. It would be better to get rid of carpeting and just have tile flooring instead. Beds were comfortable and bedding clean and white. Carpet smelled dusty and old. The desk staff said they cater to the "horse crowd".

Pleasant surroundings - easy on/off highway. Very pet friendly. Breakfast was lackluster - I'd go elsewhere for breakfast in the future - but nice stay, very little highway noise. Best place to stay with pets in the area!

I reported my issues to the Hotel manager during checkout. The check-in crew, two very young adults lacked any interest to socially interact...i.e., making guest feel welcome to hotel. The shower pressure was horrible (same for adjoining room). The TV images on all channels were grainy and poor quality (same for adjoining room).The sink stopper in my room would not push up to allow water to drain (I put a cork in it to keep it up during my 1-night stay (not an issue in other room). I conveyed my issues to the check-out staff (I think one of the ladies was the manager) and they were concerned and very interested in hearing. I did not mention the lack of social skills to her on the check-in team. The biggest PLUS for this Best Western PLUS was the bath & hand towels...super soft, fresh smelling and thick. Separately bagged sets another nice touch. A good streamed shower after a long day of driving is very important to me and so is relaxing with my evening shows. Will not return here!

Checked into a room that smelled like mold and mildew. The walls and ceiling were so thin that we could hear everyone and everything around us. My husband and I could hear our neighbors conversations, as well as people in the halls. We woke up nice and early due to the loud footsteps of the people above us. We decided to not go back to sleep and just wanted to get out of there. The lady working the front desk didn't seem fazed when we told her about our unpleasant experience. I guess she's used to guest leaving in disgust.

One star is too much for our horrific experience! Stayed here for one night with family and our dogs. Terrible mistake!! The room smelled musty, and the bathroom had dirt in the corner by the bathtub. The rest of the room looked okay aside from the smell, so we didn't think much of the bathroom. I guess looks can be deceiving. :( When in the room, we could hear the people next door to us talking and coughing due to the thin walls. There was also a weird dead plant in the hallway by the elevator. When I went to the vending machines to get a bottle of water, the machine was sold out, so I asked the receptionist at the front desk if she had water or if any other machines had water. She looked at me as if I was talking in another language, and said she didn't know. She seemed like she didn't care and couldn't be bothered, so I walked away awkwardly. Perhaps I would be able to forget all this if I haven't been bitten by bed bugs all over my abdomen and chest. BED BUGS! I'm really annoyed, and when I told the management how badly I've been bitten, he said that no one has ever complained about bed bugs and that they have pest control come regularly. Meanwhile, I saw two other reviews on Google complaining of bug bites too. I only wish I saw those reviews prior to staying here, but I hope others see this so they can avoid making the same mistake!

The hotel was very nice and clean. Plenty of room for all 6 of us in one double queen/sofa bed room. Wish there was a mirror outside of the bathroom as well though. The kids enjoyed that the pool was open although we had to wait 1.5 hrs for people to leave so that we could get in with proper social distancing.

Do not be fooled by the cute outside. The inside is completely outdated and old. Our room smelled so bad that we had to prop the door open, the hall smell better than our room. The bathroom has no fan or ventilation so your room gets steamy and smells bad when you shower. The bathroom also had mold on the ceiling

We visited natural bridge area and this hotel was perfect. Nice accommodations, spacious room and breakfast bar. The rooms were well attended to and seemed to be clean. Considering other options in the area, I would stay here again.

If I travel through Virginia again, I'll make a point to visit this property. I felt safe with indoor corridors. I found the decor tasteful, the stay peaceful. I'd like to swim in the pool, when or if I return.

Very disappointed in my stay. WiFi didn't work - the hotel provides a tech line if you have trouble connecting and the tech service couldn't figure out what the issue was. I'm glad I brought sanitizing wipes because the toilet seat appeared to be unclean and came up with brown stains after I wiped it down with the cloth. By far the worst thing was that although I locked my door, housekeeping walked into my room this morning while I was sleeping. I've never had that happen at a hotel before. You would think a professional business would pull a list of guests who have already checked out so as not to disturb those who haven't. Complete violation of my privacy.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times in the past. The Manager (Jonathan) went far and beyond what was expected to help our group have a great stay. He should be recognized and rewarded for the outstanding support he and his Staff provide in a professional, friendly, and helpful manner.

Due to Covid restrictions the lack of extras really aren't their fault. However I booked a suite and got a regular room. They blamed Covid for their lack of housekeepers as to why a suite was unavailable and that maybe the truth.

Second night of stay people in the hallway talking loudly, banging on my door and running down the hallway. Had to call front desk 4 time in 25 minutes and a new employee, "young lady" stated she was too busy to come up stairs and then huffed on the phone when I demanded it. Got 4 hours sleep that night. Third night, someone above me in 313 was running back and forth, dropping things and slamming doors. After 2 hours of this I called to front desk, no answer. I called the room directly and advised I'd call the police if the noise didn't stop! Woman said okay and hung up on me. Next morning I asked that the manager call me. He never did. The night supervisor gave me 50.00 credit for noise. Room should have been Free. Stay away!

The prior night's stay at a hotel 3 times more costly was horrible. This Best Western Plus was a dream! Hospitality more than a 5! The property, which is 10 years young is so well kept we thought it was new. Room decor was very nice. Thank you for giving this wanderlust couple a nice experience on the way to our next adventure. I've stayed at this hotel several times during the past few years. It is well run, efficient, clean, mostly quiet and a reasonable value for the money spent especially with BW's rewards program. Staff is always helpful. No problems.

We stayed the first week of October 2020, need to revisit the area and plan to stay here again. Conveniently located for restaurants, downtown, and blueRidge Parkway. Everyone very careful about Covid.

As we head into late Fall and Covid cases are rising at a scary pace, this hotel brought me peace of mind with it's cleanliness and up-to-date accommodations. Nothing fancy here but you'll enjoy a relaxing stay. Love the Waffle House across the street

First of all, we were traveling thru the local city in the state. We had to find a hotel to stay at that accepted pets. With our reserved days and dates, unfortunately this was the only hotel chain that allowed it. Here's what I don't get..there were several more updated hotels that were seemed much nicer (had good looks inside and outside) that don't accept pets but a Best Western did. Really?! The hotel rooms door (with the ‘old fashion put the card into the reader') was not easy to open. Even with one hand. Time to update, it's 2020! “Come on Best Western.” The location was just off a few main roads but the fact that it was close to residential homes (and such) made walking outside with a dog a bit uneasy and feel less secure. While I'm glad we found an overnight spot to sleep at, that will my and our families last stay at a Best Western. I just don't understand why millions around the globe would choose to stay at any of these hotel chains. I understand not everyone can afford a four or five star hotel. But come on?!

We stayed there in late September 2020. We had a very nice room on the 2nd floor. everything worked perfectly. Their Breakfast during the covid times was without a doubt the best we encountered buring a 10 day trip down the Blur ridge Parkway.

My wife and I and another couple from church stayed at this hotel this past week because bad reviews at our first choice caused my wife to change hotels.Our room smelled like smoke so bad we had to go to wal mart to by air fresher for cigarette smoke because the Lysol we brought wouldn't make a difference at all.I understand no hot breakfast because of corona, but we were promised a pool online and on the phone. Nope. Had to go to the front desk every day to get fresh towels even though we left our old ones outside the door in the bag as instructed and were told they would leave fresh ones outside the door. Listened to a lady tell the front desk that her beds did not even have bottom sheets on the beds much less any other sheets and was told by the clerk that he would go to housekeeping and get her sheets so she could make the beds. Yeah right. Will not stay here or any other hotel in Lexington again. Will stay in Roanoke.

Like some other recent reviews we were disappointed with this location. Lobby clean and beautiful, but rooms neglected. Guest room had a musty smell and mattresses sagging and tired. Our stay was 7/ 25 and there was still dry cleaning trash in closet from previous guest dated 6/24! So clearly house keeping is not doing a through job. Mentioned this at checkout and got a shrug. Only good working Ice machine was on 3rd. floor. Grab and go breakfast consisted of cereal and juice only. No Bagels, English muffins or flavored coffee creamer. Situated in a quiet location just off I-64 with ample parking, this place must have been a go to stay at one point, but needs care and attention.

We just returned from a 5 day stay. We had stayed at Best Western Hunt Ridge numerous times before. I am aware that Covid restrictions limit access to things like the pool, which I fully support. However, we had several issues with our stay. We were there for a week long event at the Lexington Horse Center and out in 97 degree heat all day, every day. The first issue is that all ice machines in the hotel were not working, except one on the third floor. So to get ice or water, was not possible on our floor. The grab and go breakfast options were pitiful. It included cereal, yogurt, bananas. Several days in a row the milk cartons we took back to our room had curdled, spoiled milk. I have had to travel recently and other hotels have offered individually wrapped breakfast sandwiches or biscuits that can be heated in the room, which fueled us up for the morning and was very appreciated. The paper we were given on check in, stated, that towels left outside the room by 11am would be replaced ( fresh towels in bag, left by rhe door). We were up early every morning and left towels outside. 4 out of 5 days we had to ask for towels when we got back. For a long stay, being in the heat all day, it was very disappointing to not have easy access to basic amenities like ice, water and clean towels. I am so disappointed by this trip, that I will try a different hotel on my next trip to Lexington.

I have been to the horse center MANY times and for some reason never stayed here. This past weekend I did and wish I did not. The staff is completely indifferent. I requested our room to be cleaned multiple times to different people, it never happened any of the days I stayed and when I complained the front desk person said the GM would call me, still waiting ;-) Stains on the carpet.

I have stayed here several times and always found it to be clean and friendly. The staff go out of their way to handle any of our needs. They even found another ducky because I traveled w/2 of my grandchildren. If I'm in the area, this is a go to spot to stay!!!

Visited Lexington area for touring with my extended family. The connecting rooms and super comfy beds made for a comfortable stay. Clean. Friendly/helpful staff. Convenient to Lexington downtown. When hot breakfast and pool become available again: it will be a superior value.

located off the highway and thought with the Best Western "plus" rating and positive trip advisor reviews this would be a good bet, even with the extra pet fee. We were wrong. Old hotel with worn furnishings, rugs and fixtures in our room. Wanted to sanitize during covid-19 - and felt like we had to actually clean the room - and too tired to go to another hotel.

My husband and I stayed here on a trip exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway. We turned in after a long and made a last-minute reservation through Booking.com. The room was clean and had all amenities required (even has a cute little surprise in the shower ;) ).Only reason why we decided not to give it 5 starts was because the room got quite hot at night. Make sure it is set at a good temperature ( we recommend 61 degrees) before and you should have a very nice stay!

The hotel was great everyone took excellent measures on cleanliness and staff was very pleasant and professional. I've stayed at a lot of hotels before and this is by far one of my favorite across the east coast

Overpriced for a bad night sleep! The bed was soft and sagged in the middle, the towels were hard and thin, and the shower felt like a garden house. Not to mention the thin walls. Of course they put us next to people who had a dog that liked to bark in the middle of the night. When I went to check out the clerk told me to come back later because whatever she was looking at on the computer screen was going to take a while. When I told her I was disappointed with me stay and how I expected a little bit more comfort from a Best Western Plus she said she was sorry and that I should have read the description on the website better and then handed me a card to rate the hotel on this site. Overall, I expect a lot more for what I paid.

I have never seen a hotel so clean. My Mom disinfected the entire room and only found a small amount of dust behind one floor lamp. That is amazing. I love how functional the hotel is. I greatly appreciate the built-in night light in the bathroom along with the heat lamp. Given the limitations necessary for the virus situation, the breakfast was excellent. I love them offering Apple Butter which is a local favorite. I l also love that they offered juice and enhanced water around the clock in addition to coffee. All the hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. Everyone made me feel so welcome. Thank you for a great experience.

My husband and I stopped here with our two Shih Tzu dogs on our way up to Pennsylvania from Asheville. It's a lovely property with plenty of places to walk the dogs (and a bag station!), and even a little conference center. The front desk team was friendly and welcoming, and Betty and Mary in the pretty breakfast area were very kind. The special potato and sausage casserole was yummy, and blueberry waffles! I was traveling with my dog for a three day trial at the Virginia Horse Center. The location of the hotel could not have been more convenient to that facility, and also to restaurants, gas stations, and stores. The entire property was very clean and every staff person I spoke to was pleasant and helpful. There were many good choices at the breakfast bar and I really appreciated that it was open nice and early so that I could eat before leaving for the day. I will definitely go back there if in the area.

We stayed here Jan 23-26th, 2020. The food was horrible. Microwaved waffles and rubbery eggs. The ladies in the breakfast area were very kind though. The food was just horrible. Our room was on the 3rd floor. I complained to the front desk several times that the halfways were reading 84 on the temp and it was lilke walking into a sauna each time we went in/out but nothing was ever done. The toilet seat that was not made for the toilet and everytime I sat on it I ended up basically sitting on the porcelian toilet. I notifed the front desk and they had maintanence come in and look and we were told it was the correct size. No sorry its not! Saturday the toilet got stopped up for whatever reason and when it finally went down and we were able to use it again we went to flush and the toilet literally overflowed onto the floor. We quickly put towels down and I attempted to contact the front desk by phone. Of course no answer so my husband walked downstairs and spoke to the man at the desk and was offered a plunger and some towels! We just spent over 12 hours at the track and not coming back to clean up a disfunctional room. My husband requested to be moved to another room. The new room was subpar but at this point we just wanted to go to sleep. There were beer tops on the floor and the shower was not clean but surprise.... the toilet seat fit the toilet! Noone asked how our stay was when I checked out. Definitely won't be back and won't recommend this hotel.

Best in Best Western describes our one night stay. From the staff to the halls and to the rooms, very clean and organized. Breakfast was wonderful and delicious. We will definitely never forget the experience and plan a stay there again. Thank you for the amazing service!

We have stayed here approximately 8 times over the last 5 years. The breakfast is wonderful; the most options I have ever seen, fresh fruit, attentive staff...Mary was especially welcoming. Front desk staff always very accommodating, terrific beverage service available. Rooms are clean and spacious, large parking lot, lots of area to walk our dog. We will always choose this hotel when in Lexington.

I've stayed at the BW Hunt Ridge for the past several years while attending dog shows. The facility is clean; the rooms are spacious; the staff is friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend.

I love this hotel. Normally I stay away from Best Western but this one is wonderful and pet friendly. I have been coming here on my trips to SC for several years with our little dog. The staff is so kind and friendly, the rooms are spotless and I feel very safe here when traveling alone. I love the Mountain View and I recommend getting a balcony room. I have to be gluten free and was so happy to find gfree raisin bread available when we were there a few weeks ago. This along with Bigelow's Constant Black Tea made for a delightful breakfast before we hit the road. Thank you to all who work so hard to keep this hotel so welcoming. Ps Charli loves his rubber duck surprise that is left by the shower!

Hotel getting dated. Rooms had a musty odor. Breakfast choices were minimal. Great location near 2 interstates Pet friendly plenty of green grass to walk the dog. Indoor pool was enjoyed by the kids. Might check out the newer hotels next year

We were very surprised and please at how nice the hotel was , it was very clean , it was decorated very nicely, the staff was effecient , the rooms were perfect , the beds were comfortable. We will defnitely stay here again.

Betty and Jan were excellent on Thanksgiving Day! They took special care despite having to work on the holiday. They also handled special requests for us and were friendly and helpful. Breakfast room was clean and well organized.

Our Best Wester visit (4) days was excellent. The room was the cleanest one we have ever encountered and the staff were excellent and took care of all our requests. The morning breakfast was always hot, the area clean and the ladies who helped just excellent.

On a recent vacation we stayed at this best Western for one night. It was a good decision. In addition to clean quiet rooms, ample parking and excellent location we were in the company of perhaps the best hotel staff. The people who Attend to the breakfast room take great pride in their work. They speak to everyone who enters, explains what the specials are then come around to ask how things are. The breakfast selection was above average; hot food hot and cold food cold. The custodial staff, housekeeping and front desk staff are very friendly, too. As guests, we felt appreciated and hope this review is passed on to all working there.

We have stayed here three times on our way to and from Florida. We would recommend it for their rooms, breakfast and friendly staff, and they also permit pets which is a must! Traveling with a dog and two cats is always stressful anyway, so we appreciate having The Best Western Plus on our route, as nice hotels are not that easy to find. They gave us a room on the first floor which was great. The breakfast was enough for anyone, more than most others offer. The beds were wonderful and the TV just fine. For the price, this hotel checked all our boxes and we'll return on our way home.

My wife and I have stayed in this hotel many times. It is one of the nicest in Lexington. My Alumni group has also used this hotel for a number of reunion weekends, renting many, many rooms each time. However, I am just about at the end of my rope and will likely not rent here again. The problem is that the staff at the front desk is untrained, unhelpful, and argumentative. Calling to make reservations is very difficult. We called for 2 hours trying to get the front office to answer the phone. When they finally did answer; they were surly, said we are very busy, and asked us to call back in 30 minutes. We agreed, called back, and then spent 3 more hours (literally!) trying to get someone to answer the phone. When we checked-in for a recent reunion weekend, the person at the front desk was again surly and seemed to go out of her way to make it difficult for a number of our group to check-in. Additionally, because it was a high-demand weekend, we were charged over $175 per night for a room which is normally under $100. There are other hotels in town, and I will take my business elsewhere, primarily due to the attitude and lack of service provided by the front desk.

Awesome hotel and service can't be beat. Highly recommend this hotel. Stayed here two nights in November 2019 while visiting Virginia Safari Park. Rooms are large, comfy and super clean. From our initial check in to check out hotel personnel made us feel like family. Special thanks to Betty and Andy (attendants in the breakfast bar). Their smiles and personality can't be beat. The Breakfast is amazing and the breakfast staff are friendly. The indoor pool is very small. We chose this hotel for the pool and there was not enough room for my children to swim due to other guests. The hotel is very pet friendly, my allergies not so much. There were several guests with dogs, one even had their dog in the pool area. There were noisy guests above us and we got very little sleep.

I stay at a lot of Best Westerns, usually 18 to 19 nights per year. Having said that, I can definitely say that this inn is the most deserving of the "Plus" designation of any Best Western Plus that I have used. The standard King room that I had was the size of a King Suite room in other Best Western Pluses. Plus, the other amenities were on a true higher level than those at a standard Best Western. Nicely done, folks!

I never give anyone a perfect score, since we can almost always do better in some fashion, but this location gets as close to that rating as I ever rank anyone. The rooms were great, breakfast, pool, staff ... all top notch.

Room was clean, breakfast was exceptional, price was reasonable. Nice to have many choices for breakfast. Business center was helpful in locating evening meal. Fresh water in fitness center. Will be on our "great places to stay" list

Stayed less than 12 hours, wish breakfast could have started earlier.Receptionist was friendly, appreciate the goody bag for being a Rewards member. Also appreciate free parking, went to two other hotels on our journey and paid a lot to park.

Great staff, great free breakfast, all at a good price, The PLUS is a plus. Wish there was on in Harrisburg when we visit our daughter at JMU! Lobby and parking lot very spacious. Breakfast area had plenty of tables so we did not have to wait for a seat to enjoy their great breakfast.

My wife and I and yes our 16 year old yorkie were treated like royalty. I called them the afternoon we were coming in yet they us a very convenient room on the first floor. The room was excellent and our bed comfortable. How about breakfast all out full breakfast including fresh grapefruit. They even had a bucket of iced waters at the desk. Even though I forgot my swimsuit the indoor pool was super thank you Best Western

I stayed here with my family for a weekend wedding in Lexington. The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes from downtown, and was clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. We'll certainly stay here again when we go back to Lexington.

Once again the staff at the Inn at Hunt Ridge did an excellent job. Room was perfect and the other accommodations were up to expectations. My accomplice and I always look forward to our "one night getaways" to Lexington and a big part of the reason is "The Inn"!! We will be back later in the year.

I mostly stay at Best Western when I travel. This indeed was the best one to date. Rooms were excellent and the breakfast was wonderful. The breakfast area was so beautiful, it could have a wedding reception there!!!

No Problems, nice people, convenient for VMI visits. Allowing pets is a nice feature for those travel especially with their dogs. I've been coming here regularly for 2-3 years and note a consistency in staff which is a positive.

The staff is wonderful, helpful . I've stayed there 3vtimes and the rooms were super clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Every thing you could want was there. There is coffee tea and juice anytime.

Everyone at this location was friendly, and greeted everyone with a smile. Like almost every place the internet is very slow. That was a problem at every location except one. We would stay here again if we are in this area. In fact we might go a little out of the way because the staff was so nice.

Not sure what I'm missing...how this hotel gets so many 4/5 star ratings is beyond me. I reserved a room here almost a year ago so that our family would be set for Parents Weekend. I thought everything would work out because Best Westerns are usually uniformly clean and simple, and the reviews for this particular location were good. Lobby and exterior were fine, but we had to ask twice to change our room during check in because the moment we opened the door to our room, we were hit with a very heavy, musty smell. Thinking it was the A/C, but not sure. We apologized and explained that someone in our group had asthma and allergies, and twice, the man at the front desk just handed us a new key and told us the room number without looking up. Two rooms on the third floor were really dank and musty, so we asked to try a room on the second floor. Still no luck, but the vacancies all over town were limited, so we stayed put. Rugs were sticky and dirty, toilet was turned off when we arrived in the room, and it ran over once when we flushed it. The cleaning staff was friendly and did the best they could with outdated bathrooms and dirty rugs, but the rug was still gross to walk on. After the check in experience, not one person at the front desk looked up at us (or anyone walking in or out) as we left or arrived back at the hotel for three days/nights. Only the young woman who checked us out was friendly. On the second night, a fire alarm somewhere in our room area started beeping from low batteries, and continued to do so for the entire night. We were tired of saying anything, and fortunately, it was fixed by the time we returned home the next evening. Never had a poor experience with Best Westerns until this time. Very expensive for Parents Weekend, we didn't eat the breakfast, and both pools were closed (we didn't use them anyway). Usually don't write bad reviews, but had to note this particular location. Please check the air quality...there are a lot of reviews telling you to do that!!

We have stayed here for the past three Parents Weekends at W&L. Unfortunately, there have been no updates and the place is starting to show its age. The rooms are very dated and in dire need of repairs. Bathroom fixtures are leaky and the wall paper is peeling. Breakfast is adequate at best. I'd advise going out unless you are just looking for cereal or fruit. We just expect a little more when the rates are doubled for special events. With the negativity out of the way, I must say that we have never had any issues with the staff. They are always very friendly and courteous. We have also never had any issues with cleanliness. The wallpaper may be peeling but the rooms are clean. The location is great too. Complimentary coffee and juice just off of the lobby is also a nice touch. It is simply time to reinvest in the property and update it.

We came up to Lexington for a college tour of Washington & Lee as well as a VMI football game. The hotel is very close to downtown Lexingtin and restaurants as well as both universities. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

It was my wife's birthday weekend, so we camped out on our property in Lexington on Friday night and stayed at the BWHR Saturday and Sunday night. The rooms are comfortable and the location is great. The free breakfast in the morning is also nice.

We are in the middle of a 7 week road trip around the USA, and we keep coming back to Best Western. This property is very well-maintained with friendly staff and is well situated near the town of Lexington, as well as being close to Natural Bridge State Park and Caverns. We enjoyed our stay, and continue to be impressed by the care and time given to the Best Western properties, and this one was exceptional!

The exterior is kept very neat and appealing. Interior had live plants that drew my eye. Assistant at desk was very friendly and efficient. Was given gift bag of water and goodies, being a frequent guest at B.W. Hotels. Upgraded room near drink machines and elevator, was super surprised to have insulation that totally blocked out any noise. Breakfast was a huge spread, easy access, clean and delicious. The ladies, Betty and Margaret, were so sweet and kept area filled and clean. Learned they are sisters and really enjoyed chatting with them when not busy! Two ladies at desk when we checked out who we also enjoyed chatting with! So personable and highly recommend this hotel!!! The rate was very low for this type of hotel.

I have stayed at a few hotels in Lexington. This is now my favorite. Spent 4 nights here and have found the staff members to be very friendly and responsive, especially Betty Jon during breakfast. Thank you Betty! Great hotel that I will return to in the future when needed.

Staff were very nice. Room had a bad mildew smell when the ac ran. The bed was horrific. Did not eat there or use any other facilities. Parking was easy and the waffle house being close was the best thing about the hotel.

Stopped for the unexpected overnight at this hotel..was extremely surprised by the beauty of this hotel. The staff was very helpful and even offered us breakfast prior to 6am. Wish we could have spent an extra day!

Had a wonderful one-night stay here and would fully recommend it. This hotel does everything right. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Room was large, clean and well furnished. The indoor pool was good although it was a shame to see the outdoor section closed in August. Breakfast was great with lots of options and the hot food was replenished constantly by two very hard working ladies. Ample free parking available. Free hot drinks and bottled water in the lobby. A really nice hotel overall, and I would definitely stay again if I'm ever back in the area.

This hotel was a disappointment. Looking forward to a three day stay in Lexington & you of hotel pool. Outside pool closed / inside pool dirty & staff had pool excuses as to the cause of dirtiness / closure. Our room was not cleaned one of the nights and there as an odor in our room. Again a poor excuse as to the cause of the odor. We will not be using this hotel in the future

Booked 2 rooms and we had the same rooms on the 3rd floor. We like staying here. Staff is friendly and it is very clean. Beds are very comfortable. They have a very good breakfast and a very large eating area. Very good people working the kitchen making sure everything is up to par. Only thing is this time, there was no grits. We enjoyed it the first time. We went for the Beach Festival both times.

We happened upon this little jewel on Hotwire for $67 per night. The room was a little warm when we arrived, but otherwise very clean. Fridge and microwave in the room. The BEST part of our stay was breakfast in the morning. We were warmly greeted by Margaret and Betty who maintain the breakfast area. Waffles, cheese omelets, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, chocolate and white milk, soy milk in chocolate and white, breads, yogurts, fruit, and several other treats filled our tummies. We were quite impressed with this free amenity. The hotel was quiet and staff was friendly.

We stay here every year when traveling down for our family reunion. The hotel is clean, rooms are large & comfortable, staff is very friendly and accommodating. The pool is nice and open until 11pm. Breakfast is great also! The location is very convenient to both I81&I64. Lots of restaurants close by to choose from as well.

It all started when we checked-in with the receptionist. She greeted us with a beautiful smile and welcome. She recognized I was an elite Best western member and thank me for my loyalty and gave me a gift bag with bottle water a a few snacks. Having traveled for 12 hours we requested a room located in a quiet zone away from ice machine, and elevators and she was very accommodating even though the hotel was booked full that evening. The main room and bath room were spotless. The decorations in the room made us feel at home. The breakfast buffet offer a variety of hot and cold foods ( eggs, sausage, ham, home fried potatoes, hot and cold cereal, yogurt etc) I would recommend this Best Western Plus to any one.

the hotel and rooms were very clean. The breakfast was good just needed more Southern items like biscuits.The ladies kept the breakfast items full and the tables were clean. they were very hard workers.Don't go to this hotel if you want to go into the pool. The pool seems to be ignored and was out dated ,It was dirty with hair floating in it. The pool opened at 9:00 and we were there at 10:30 and you would of thought it would of been cleaned before it was opened. Very quiet, you could get a good nights sleep.

Nice, clean hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are always clean as is the pool. Wonderful breakfast selection. Betty, Jan & Sharon go above and beyond to keep everything stocked and looking great. Betty even brought my child a rubber duck when he finished his breakfast! We will definitely stay at this hotel if we are in the area.

We selected this hotel due to its location to the VA Horse Center. We had a wonderful time. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The pool was clean. We are definitely staying here next year.

I had stayed this past sat/sun (july 27-28th) at this particullar hotel, and I had gotten up early (as I usually do) and went down for a cup of coffee. i had a chase to meet 2 very VERY sweet ladies by the name of Betty and Sharon. Sharon was alittle on the shy side as she had admitted but was super polite, and Betty who I got to talk to quite a bit was a very nice lady who LOVES her grandbabies!!! It was so refreshing to be able to speak with these ladies plus the breakfast well what can I say, it was FANTASTIC!!!!!!! I love to talk with people and found out about them and it was really nice that these ladies gave me the time of day when I hopped that it made THEYRE DAY as well that someone took the time to sit and chat and that continued as well as other customers that came in to breakfast and the ladies talked with customers as well, Thank you girls!!!!

I stayed here with my mom and 2 nieces and 1 nephew after visiting safari park (about 10 miles away). The staff was super nice. Check in was easy. Our room had double beds with a pull out couch. It was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was fine. The pool area was clean for the kids to swim a little while. They enjoyed it. The water was cold! The staff brought us extra towels at 8:30a after a quick call to the desk. I didn't have breakfast but my mom said it was good with lots of options. There is a Ruby Tuesday 0.5 mile away.. had dinner there. There is also a gas station and Dairy Queen. There's a Walmart close. I chose this hotel because it was one of few that had an extra sofa bed but I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.

Pool is a bit aged but still nice. Friendly staff. Clean inside and out. 24hr refreshments. Hot breakfast. Comfortable beds. Safe, coffee, and fridge in rooms. Working air conditioning. Spacious parking. Easy in and out.

Stayed at three different properties during our time in Lexington. Of those, this hotel was by far the best, with the most comfortable beds, quietest A/C, best breakfast and nicest overall room; even had a rubber ducky on the tub waiting for us...can't beat that! This would be our location of choice for each visit to Lexington, every time.

We stayed here July 4th. Had a good view of the fireworks nearby. Couldn't have asked for better breakfast staff! Ladies there were all sociable and as nice as could be! Loved chatting with them. The front desk staff could take some HUGE lessons from them. From check-in to just walking past them during our stay, they were about as unsocial as a front desk staff could be. Just seemed like they did not enjoy their job, nor did they seem like they wanted to converse with their guests. Also, they may want to choose a different place for them to take their smoke breaks rather than 20 feet from the front door entrance. Rooms were in good shape, pool was a little bit on the dirty side...and the indoor part of the pool smelled a lot like mold. Workout room was perfect, and the coffee and drinks available during the day were wonderful. Overall, a good choice, but fix up the pool area, and address the front desk staff and you get a solid 5 star stay.

The complimentary breakfast was better than some breakfasts we've paid for! And the attendant at the breakfast was very friendly and made sure everything was satisfactory. Actually, she was the nicest person we encountered working at this hotel! The front desk people were not very customer service oriented. Our adjoining rooms were not ready when we checked in at 1:30 p.m. and we were told to leave and come back closer to check in time. We were not made to feel special. If check out is at 11 a.m., one would expect rooms to be ready.

We enjoyed our stay at this Best Western Plus. They had a great breakfast selection. We especially enjoyed the kindness shown to us by Betty and Margaret during breakfast. They made sure we had everything needed for a good nutritious start to our day!

After 12 days and 8 hotels, this Best Western, in Lexington VA, was our last stop before reaching Pax River, MD. The hotel is just off the 81 and 64 freeways, the staff is efficient and pleasant, and they have the best breakfast and nicest people working there. VMI and Lee and Washington are right down the road. There are amazing restaurants in downtown. Southern Inn is outstanding. Great food and wine selection, and a decent variety of craft brews on tap. There is a local ice cream parlor also that was also great.

My wife and I stayed here in mid-May. The very attractive hotel building is about a long block off Lee Highway, and about 1 1/2 miles off I-81. It's a quiet location with nice views from the parking lot (who offers that?) I noticed some rooms have balconies facing south, and the views of the distant mountains would be great. It might be worth investigating. Not being acquainted with this hotel, It's condition hinted that it was fairly new construction. I was thus surprised to hear that it is over 20 years old. Maintenance and housekeeping is obviously excellent. The lobby area is fine, and there is a spectacular textile artwork behind the desk; take a moment to appreciate it. Our room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were a pleasure to speak with. Though in a quiet location, the hotel is very convenient to a WalMart and several nice restaurants as well as fast food.The hotel offers convention facilities, which we didn't use. Overall, this is one of the nicest mid-priced chain hotels we have ever stayed in. It is well worth the extra couple of minutes to seek it out from either I-81 or I-64;

Wonderful stop on a driving trip. So glad this place was pet friendly. This is the second Best Western Plus we have stayed at recently and both have had great breakfasts with really wonderful staff helping.

The Hotel was a several hundred yards from the I-81 exit ramp. Up to the light, made a left and then a quick right. Hotel was on the left. Parking was acceptable and well-lit. Reception area and attention to guest arrivals was good and everyone was polite. Easy to access and the lay-out was spacious.

We really enjoyed our 2 day stay at this Best Western Plus inn. The complimentary breakfast was especially good with a nice selection of hot and cold breakfast items. Staff were very warm and friendly, especially the breakfast staff, breakfast had lots of good choices, pool was warm and clean, room and bathroom were clean. Bed passed the remove all the sheets and move away from the wall check for worriers like me. Mattresses were comfortable, pillow comfort could be improved but overall a very nice place to stay. Clean, comfortable, fun. Bonus my kids loved the little ducks the staff gave them!

As a one-time HUGE FAN of Best Westerns, this, and the last three we have stayed at across the southeast, have RUINED OUR 30 love affair with BEST WESTERN. Its room was FILTHY, w' STAINED CARPETING, a LOUDLY rattling (?) 30 year old air conditioner, SO MUCH CHEMICAL SPRAY to cover up who knows what, we had allergic reactions, the WORST- simply WORST directions of ANY hotel so far in 40 YEARS of traveling, nasty staff at front desk, HORRENDOUS BED. A DUMP...in our opinion, and we r FINISHED WITH THE FORMERLY GREAT BRAND OF the seeming now ubiquitous dump hotels that BEST WESTERN places their name on! We are THROUGH with this brand!

Stayed one night on a short roadtrip. My room was perfect: quiet, good A/C, and plenty of pillows. Loved having the small fridge and microwave...actually popped popcorn to watch a movie. The breakfast the next morning was really good...and the hostesses were very hospitable and pleasant. Looks like a great place to have a small conference or meeting for a business group. Great location near I-81 & I-64, and minutes to Lexington. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful inside and out, great breakfast, electric card charging, pet-friendly. Remote didn't work, was replaced, that was fine. What disappointed me was the room layout. I book a king so we can sit on a sofa to watch TV and the TV was on the same side of the room as the sofa. I asked when they were working on the remote and was told, "I just rent the room, I didn't design it." The desk ladies were just a tad, matter of fact. I would stay again, but will ask to see the room and if all kings are this way, I will get the 2 queens.

Quiet but convenient location. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very nice breakfast. Friendly staff. We stayed there during a trip in the Shenandoah Valley and we found it to be very convenient to many activities in the area.

We stopped at the Best Western Plus Inn on our way home from vacation. The staff were friendly and helpful when we asked about a local pizza restaurant. The room was clean and the heating/cooling system worked well. The beds were comfortable. The water pressure was excellent. The breakfast was provided and offered a wide variety of options. Overall a great place to stay.

Bed actually made my hips hurt when lying on my sides...not normally a problem for me. Pillows way to big. Ended up trying to sleep on back with no pillows. Room and bathroom were clean, bathroom door really needs adjusting, as it hits tile when opening and its then hard to close. Very nice staff. I was worried about pet dander, as I'm allergic and nice lady at check in told me to go check it out and she'd move us if needed. Breakfast very good, with lots of diabetic friendly options. Ladies working in breakfast area were so sweet and helpful. If not for hard bed, I'd go back. Hubby had no issues.

The Best Western Plus was wonderful! A great night's sleep. Teriffic breakfast. Could not have been better! My wife and I would return there anytime. My only suggestion would be more water pressure in the shower and a fan in the bathroom, since every mirror steamed up.

We have stayed here many times in our trips from Mississippi to New Hampshire. We have dogs and it's and the hotel is friendly to both. The breakfast is spectacular. The pool is fun. Always a great stay!

I am here for a wedding, on the third floor, and both queen beds in the room were covered in pet/human hair. There was an old musty smell, but even the pillow cases were covered in hair. Definitely not clean sheets.

Everything was perfect at this hotel, from start to finish. Friendly staff, immaculate room and common areas, reasonably priced laundry facilities, excellent breakfast with great choices. You couldn't ask for more! Best of all, the room rate was very reasonable.

Have always had excellent stays at this Best Western; truly remarkable service. Plan on staying here for my birthday in about 2 months if nothing else is on tap. Recommend this location to anyone stopping in the Lexington, VA, area.

Stay was good. Breakfast was diverse. Front desk staff welcoming. Booking room as rewards member - didn't care I was rewards member. I was kicked off the site only to be logged back in and room was now a higher rate. Hotel would not honor original rate nor would the corporate office. Have open file concerning the issue. It has been 10 days with no response from management. Not sure that is the best way to treat rewards members. Previous stays at Best Western properties have been great - booking process left this stay with hard feelings towards the company

Nicely arranged hotel with large rooms, comfortable furniture, good wifi, indoor/outdoor pool and great breakfast. Convenient to interstates and downtown Lexington, VA, reasonably priced with courteous service.

It's a great place to stay. Remodeled, clean, close to freeway interchange but not noisy. Just don't stay in mid May around VMI graduation days. The room rate for us was really inflated due to relatives in town. Still a nice hotel and I'm sure it is not normally priced as high as it was for our visit.

My family and I booked a few rooms to attend a graduation. The first set arrived on a Thursday and had no issues with check in; however, my family was scheduled to arrive Friday night. Upon checking in I was told the site(booking.com) in which I used to book months earlier cancelled my reservations. Ms. Debbie was quick with getting me into a room, apologized for the site mistake, and offered late check out. The bathroom shower pressure was weak and made a squealing noised when in use and could have been cleaned a bit better after the previous guest. This was corrected just by speaking with one of the housekeepers that I saw in the hallway. No call was needed to the front desk. It was a bit of a price hike per night to stay at a Best Western, but I know it is graduation and wedding season so prices will increase. I don't think many are traveling for vacation here. I could be wrong! The only downside to staying at this hotel is that it is pet (dog) friendly. This caused a bit of a problem for me as I'm not an animal lover, the owners were careless of how others felt about the dog, and my allergies were through the roof. I think this should be added to third party sites. Otherwise, this was a pleasant surprise to a short weekend to help celebrate a great moment in life.

My daughter and I stayed for the weekend and the front desk staff was nice and super helpful. The house keeping staff - especially Susan - was top notch and incredibly kind. The thoughtfulness of everyone who works there makes this visit stand out. Don't miss the breakfast - the egg scramble is super!

I was on a business trip. This was my first time staying in Lexington. Everything seemed to be clean. I really loved the 24 hour beverage bar. It really come in handy while I was working extremely late. The breakfast area was a short hike down a hallway. The two ladies working in the breakfast area were kind, friendly, courteous and polite. The food was pretty good, but they made you feel like family. Truly made my day! This was the first time I ever stayed at a Best Western Hotel. I would definitely be ok staying again. I didn't know it was a pet friendly hotel, but it was really clean.

This property is well worth the journey! Overall, the property exceeds BW Plus designation. Very quiet, extra large rooms, 24-hr complimentary beverage station with coffee, teas, hot chocolate, soda, juice, sparkling water and fresh fruit. Heated indoor pool is indeed heated & clean. Breakfast room sparkling, sumptuous choices for a variety of diets, & continually stocked by the congenial staff. To think that I had a hot cereal of barley, freekah, raisins, cinnamon & almond milk. Bravo. Conveniently situated just off I-81. You definitely can't stay just once!

Indoor heated pool- NOT heated Housekeeping will write DND on their list to avoid cleaning your room- had to request for this to be done - and was met with attitude by front desk. 3p check in- tried to tell me room wasn't ready and we'd have to wait- We'd been driving 4.5 hrs with a toddler. NOT a good start

My wife and I stayed here for five days in April. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well maintained by housekeeping. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was excellent as well as the dining area. They offer a lot of extra perks one of which is a 24 hour coffee bar with smooth and delicious coffee, a variety of tea, hot chocolate and wide selection of creamers and sugar. We only had one incident with a noisy guest that the staff corrected promptly. I noticed a few of the other reviewers mentioned the rooms being small. We had a standard room with two queen beds and had ample space to relax in before turning in. We stayed at a competitor on the other side of Lee Hwy last year and liked this hotel much more. We plan to come to Lexington again and will definitely want to stay here on our next visit.

This is the third time I have stayed at this hotel. The hotel staff is friendly. The breakfast area is spacious and welcoming. Rates seem fair. The rooms are clean comfortable. Access to the hotel is good. I have noticed quite a few guests with pets (not service animals) in the hotel. To some this is a plus, for me not so much. And yet, the rooms smell fresh and clean. I would stay here again.

Good value for a moderately priced property with an excellent breakfast. Hotel is well kept and comfortable. There is a large exercise room. Near the Virginia Horse Center, close to an I-64 exit, and about a 2 mile drive to the historic area of Lexington. It's ;more at the upper end of budget-oriented properties..

When driving up the exterior of the building was very inviting and the interior lived up to our expectations. The room was spacious, comfortable and spotless. Breakfast the next was awesome and included lots of fresh fruit in addition to the usual items. Our only negative is that it appears that the staff was using the portico as they're personal parking space. Shouldn't that area be available to arriving/departing guests. It appeared that there was plenty of parking that the staff could have utilized. Sometimes it's the little things that make the difference.

This hotel is in a great location with easy access to Lexington. The staff recommended a really good restaurant for dinner that was better than we expected, The breakfast was good, although they had barley in almond juice(milk-sorry I'm in the dairy industry). The rooms were clean and very comfortable. I look forward to staying here again.

Friendly staff , very clean, good location and nice breakfast, with a very friendly breakfast staff. Rooms are a nice size. If you're visiting VIrginia Military Institute or Washington and Lee, it's just a few minutes to either campus.

Very comfortable hotel. Easy access to freeway. Right down the street from downtown Lexington. Helpful staff. Favorite was the little rubber duckies they leave in the rooms. My grandkids love them. Close restaurants.

We stayed overnight on a road trip. Room was clean. I booked a for 2 queen beds and was disappointed that they were double but that was likely an issue with online booking site not hotel. Breakfast had a lot of variety more than most hotels but some concerns regarding cleanliness. Staff as friendly.

I've never stayed in a Best Western before so I wasn't sure what to expect. This hotel was great! I'm a germaphobe and the cleanliness of this hotel impressed me, which is hard to do. The breakfast bar was outstanding. It had the most varied selection of items of any hotel breakfast I've ever been to. The little extras were especially nice i.e. the rubber duck on the tub (which my kids loved), and the 24 hour complimentary beverage station. Even the maintenance guy that came to our rescue for a toilet emergency went out if his way to make us feel welcome. If I had to critique this hotel, it would be that the rooms are a little smaller than other hotel chains, but not enough that I wouldn't stay here again.

You will never stay with a better group of people. I'm a truck driver, and had a break down. This left me at this hotel for over a week waiting for repairs. The staff was incredible! Everyone, from behind the front desk, to the kitchen staff to housekeeping... Very warm and friendly. No one hesitated when it came to making me as comfortable as possible. I wish I could have stayed longer.

The hotel and the room were nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. Would definitely return. About ten minutes from VMI and fifteen minutes from Washington & Lee. The Virginia horse center is about a five minute drive. It was also very quiet. The city was having dog agility competitions at the horse center & there were a lot of dogs but we didn't hear any of them in our room.

We only stayed one night. Hotel was clean, staff was very friendly and the breakfast was really good. The pool was really small and the walls were a little thin, but I would recommend this hotel for a short stay.

One minute drive to Virginia Horse Center. about 5 minute drive to charming historic downtown, VMI and Washington and Lee University.

this Best Western was a wonderful place to stay. the room was clean and inviting. There was 24 hr coffee and drinks that i really liked. the desk staff were so nice and helpful They are pet friendly. There were food places nearby and close to the Virginia Horse Center. hope to stay there again!

My husband and I stayed here on our way to and from TN. The first visit was great. The hotel was not crowded and very quiet. Check in was quick and easy and they serve breakfast in the morning in a large room with plenty of seating. The following Friday we checked in again, not crowded at all, but the person in the room above us spent the night stomping around until 2:30 in the morning. Since I didn't hear any voices or kids I am assuming it was a dog but I can not be sure about that. We didn't tell the front desk because I did not feel like switching rooms. Next time I stay there, if it happens again, I will tell them.

Needed to stay the night in a nice hotel on the way to Georgia to visit our newest grandson. Was the perfect location and provided exactly what we needed: great bed, clean room, friendly staff and a good breakfast included!

We travel with a dog and need an Electric Vehicle destination charger for overnight charging. Few hotels allowed both but Best Western Plus fit our needs. Dog fee was only $20 for the night. Destination charging was close to the side door for easy access. Pretty clean for a pet friendly room. Hot breakfast offered in the AM along with a 24 hour beverage station offering juices, teas and hot chocolate when you arrive. We will definitely stay here again!

Hotel exceeded our expectations. Staff was friendly and accommodating. And their breakfast was the best of any hotel in which we have stayed in this country. Margaret was especially helpful in pointing out some items in their extensive breakfast offering that fit our idea of a healthy and hearty breakfast. Local map was available in the lobby, and 2 computer stations on the second floor allowed us to use the internet for a search that did not work on our phones.

Pros: Nice location-Lexington downtown is beautifully historic and only 7 miles away. Room was clean. Hotel was tastefully decorated for the holidays. You get to take home a rubber ducky that is left in the bathroom. Really cute idea for any age! Nice assortment of breakfast options, more so than most “free breakfast“ offered. They even have soy milk (reg and chocolate) and gluten-free bread. Make sure you have the potato hash in the crockpot near the refrigerator, tasty and hot!. Staff was friendly and helpful. Coffee and tea are available all day. Cons: Hotel allows pets in any room/any floor; $20 surcharge. That means there's most likely no “pet-free” rooms. If your allergic to dogs or other pets, be sure to ask for a room not next to a pet. We had a king room that had a joining door and we could smell when the owner microwaved the dog food then fed the dog next to the joining door. The breakfast room was freezing! Most of the items that were offered as hot (eggs, cheese omelettes, sausages and waffles) were cold. You will need to heat these items up in the microwave.

The pros at this hotel include: Clean linens Pleasant breakfast staff-they were very happy and accommodating. Lovely grounds Cons: -The television is not HD. This was odd, considering I haven't stayed in a hotel in years that didn't have an HD compatible tv. When you have no other plans for the evening other than to watch TV, that's a bummer. -While the linens were clean, the rest of housekeeping was off. There was no shampoo, but 3 bottles of lotion (which is only a problem if you're already in the shower when you discover this). -We discovered a Snickers bar behind the arm chair on the floor when we arrived. So obviously, the rooms aren't totally cleaned. The carpet was dirty. -The balcony that we paid extra to have was littered with cigarette butts. -The breakfast food was not up to par. The hot food was cold, the breads were stale. All-in-all it was okay, but I don't think I'd stay here again.

It was the best so far in the last 3 weeks of travel. Rooms are large and beds are comfy. Breakfast is amazing for a chain hotel. The breakfast ladies keep everything spotless and well stocked. Rooms are quiet. Staff is especially helpful and professional. Excellent beverage bar available with coffee,tea, and juice available all day.

We were on the first floor in a room with 2 queen beds. We were 3 adults traveling from Louisville KY to Norfolk VA. The room and bathroom were clean, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best we have seen during our travels. It included meat, eggs, waffles, cereals, fresh fruits, sweet rolls, coffee, tea, juices and much more. The attendants tending to it kept everything well stocked. The location is great just off the interstate, plus there are several restaurants nearby for dinner. This was our second time staying here, and we will definitely stay here again!

Spent one week at the Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge in Lexington, VA. We had a great experience. The front desk staff were always helpful. All the ladies who worked in the breakfast cafe were also very nice, attentive and helpful, including sisters Margaret and Betty. We saw several guests with their dogs, and even the dogs seemed to be enjoying their stay.

There are limited choices for lodging in this area and the rates increase in the fall because the two local colleges are celebrating homecoming and parents weekend, which affects the perspective of value for the price. However, given the other options in this area, this is probably the best place to stay.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. On arrival the room smelled musty. The safe was not working which I reported to the front desk, they said it would be looked at and fixed shortly.......I'm still waiting! The reception staff were brusque and unfriendly both at checking in, whilst we stayed and on departure, not what you would want in a customer facing hotel. The coffee in the room, the beverage room and breakfast was some of the worst I've tasted in all my visits to the USA. As such I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay if I'm in the Lexington area.

This hotel is the best pet friendly hotel that I have stayed. Very friendly and helpful staff made myself and my dog have a comfortable stay. The property appears elegant from the exterior as it sits on a hill. Retail and restaurants are nearby.

Stayed here for a horse show that happened to be during "Parents Weekend" for one of the lovely schools in Lexington - either VMI or Washington & Lee - which made finding a room next to impossible with six weeks notice. On the good side, the hotel is very close to the Virginia Horse Park. On the downside, that meant a double room was over $200/night which would be acceptable IF this was a standout of the Best Western brand. Unfortunately, this hotel is not located in "historic Lexington" and is only close to a Waffle House and a Walmart, so for a decent meal, one has to drive into town, and it is a lovely town. But the rooms here were pretty shabby, with stained carpets and older bathrooms. Additionally, to access the room, after inserting your key card and getting a green light, one must, counterintuitively lift the door handle upwards, instead of down, and shoulder the door open. Very strange and surprisingly difficult. Also, there are only two large mirrors, both in the bathroom. It would be so much easier, especially with 2 people, to have a full length mirror on the inside or outside of the closet. I can't really say the reception staff was very friendly or very helpful. Unless you are attending a horse show, I'd pick another place.

Everything about this stay was great - from check-in to check-out. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast had options for vegetarians as well as gluten free diets. The breakfast area was clean and probably the best breakfast we have had at a Best Western. The rubber duckies were a fun added touch. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room was good size, the beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The breakfast selection is amazing! Very nice lobby and refreshment area. Extras I found nice....the towels are amazingly soft!! Noticed that immediately and there were more than enough of them in the bathroom, along with a cute little yellow rubber ducky sitting on the edge of the tub! Ladies, if you are over 40 and need reading glasses, you will really appreciate the magnifying mirror on the wall in the bathroom for putting on your makeup! I love this feature, I have one at home and it is small touches like these that make a hotel stand out to me. The pool is very small and was not the cleanest but I think it may just be a section not updated yet and did not detract from value and opinion of the property. Highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again if I return to this area.

I stayed here three years ago and found a few faults, but overall acceptable. The hotel has obviously been refreshed since my last visit and it really shows. Plenty of outlets in the rooms. The restaurant problem has been addressed by eliminating the restaurant altogether (there are plenty nearby). They use the area for the breakfast and the breakfast is terrific. Guest laundry was very convenient and reasonably priced. Breakfast was very well done. The 24 hour beverage bar was appreciated greatly. The overall condition of the hotel is excellent. Front desk staff is helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

We love this facility! The rooms are great, breakfast is awesome & the staff is very friendly. We come to Lexington, Virginia 5 times a year for horse shows at the Virginia Horse Center and this location is perfect for us. There is plenty of parking and it's a quiet atmosphere. We have stayed at 4 other places within 2 miles of here in the past and they just don't match up to the Best Western Plus Inn - Hunt Ridge.

Pros: An ok location, but then Lexington is small, so anywhere is convenient Free water Free and conveniet coffee, tea and juices in the hall Tiny, but ok selection at breakfast Cons: - Seriously humd and smelly rooms -- when it's hot and humid outside, the AC doesn't keep up and makes the air inside super humid - Because of that, I guess, the whole room smells like mold; the engineer changed the filter in the AC unit, but it didn't help much. Stay elsewhere if you're allergic to mold - There was no other room for us to move to - The corners in the bathroom weren't cleaned at all and there were debris, someone's hair and all kinds of dirt - Stained chairs - Worn out mattresses and thin sheets

The staff at check in and out was very friendly, the breakfast staff not so much. The egg and sausage had a weird taste to them, I ended up just having a bowl a raisin bran. The room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom a good size with plenty of hot water. It was very clean, bed comfortable, and a quiet location. I am giving 5 stars for the comfort & quietness of the location. The breakfast needs work.

Spent one night here on our way home from vacation. We made our reservation at the last minute. The guy that checked us in was very helpful (Jason?) The room was clean but smelled a bit musty, like the air conditioning filter needed cleaned. The breakfast was good, several choices and in a nice open space. All the hotel employees we met were very friendly and helpful. For that reason we would stay here again.

How this hotel is rated #2 in Lexington is beyond me. Overall, it is not "that bad" - I've stayed in worse places and I've stayed in much, much better places. Of the three places I have now stayed in Lexington, this was the worst. I still give it three stars ("Average"), because it has some redeeming qualities and I keep coming back to, "It wasn't that bad." I can't pin point exactly what I so dislike about it, but I am not likely to return unless it is the only area hotel with availability. We stayed Labor Day weekend for our oldest's Oath Ceremony at VMI... and by the end of our two nights, we couldn't wait to leave. Check-in was fine, although not especially friendly. It seemed a little bit rushed, even though there wasn't much of a line. Upon entering the room, I noticed a bit of a moldy/musty smell, but it wasn't overwhelming. My first impression was that it wasn't "that bad" and definitely livable for the two nights we would be there. The moldy/musty smell got worse as soon as one person took a shower. There was no fan in the bathroom and as soon as the shower started running, the bathroom was hot, humid, and full of steam. I hung my son's swimsuit in the bathroom to dry the first night we were there, and by the time we left on the last day, it still wasn't dry. It now smells moldy/musty just like the room and I am on my second attempt at washing it to get the smell out. The room was not functional. There are three mirrors in the room - all of which are in the bathroom, so there was no way for one person to be getting ready while another was in the shower, especially since the mirrors in the bathroom steamed up immediately upon running the shower. There was in awkwardly placed, worn armchair and a desk in a dark corner that we used for nothng more than placing our luggage. The decor is dark and the lighting is poor. We could not open our blinds for additional light, because our room was on the first floor, right on the parking lot. We had a "balcony" that was completely unusable due to a plethora of cobwebs and a bird's nest. Our oldest wasn't staying with us, since he is at VMI, but he did take a one hour nap in our room. He woke up completely stuffed up after one hour - probably from an animal allergy. ALL of the rooms are pet friendly (which is great if you're traveling with a pet; not so great if you're allergic). The pool needs a good cleaning and updating. It felt slimy and dirty. The good: My husband loved the breakfast and 24 hour beverage station. The breakfast had a better variety than most hotels that serve a free breakfast. The bottom line: I will only stay here again if other places in town are unavailable. It wasn't "that bad," but it wasn't good either. The room, although we were barely in it, became like a dark, damp, cramped cell that we couldn't wait to get out of!

The hotel was clean. And the breakfast was pretty good. Staff was friendly and polite. We stayed only one night but the kids loved the pool. And restaurants close by made it nice since we had been driving all day.

Attended a weekend wedding of some of my children's friends held in Lexington in late August 2018 and stayed for two nights. The wedding party had recommended a few hotels, but after some research of hotels in the area not many of them appeared to be better spoken of than the Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge. This hotel had many of the things I'm looking for when booking: complimentary breakfast, indoor/outdoor pool, 24-hour hot beverages, free internet access. Check-in was quick, even after I informed the front desk clerk that my card used to make the reservation had been recently closed since it reported stolen. Room was as described when I reserved, 2 queen beds, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room. Except for some long, dark stray hairs on the bathroom wall (I'm bald so they were not mine!!!), the room was very clean. Connecting to the internet was fast and easy (an important factor for my autistic son who is online his entire waking hours) and never a problem during my stay. Breakfast in the morning was fine, even though it's located at the end of the hotel. The position of the serving line/items could use some better direction, as it seemed out of order: plate, utensils, then your beverage choices before you get to the food. Beverages are usually at the end, but this may be nit-picking on my part. Indoor/outdoor pool was okay, but outdoor part wasn't as clean as the indoor side. Almost slipped and fell down the steps due to slippery algae on them. Despite all the negatives, I would not hesitate to stay here again if in the area.

Good room and bathroom, nothing exceptional, but liked the room controlled a/c, frig and microwave in a cabinet, didn't try the tv, convenient light switch by beds. Breakfast very good. Near Lexington, but not walkable. Did not know at the time of booking all rooms and floors were pet rooms. While the room we had did not smell, I did have a skin reaction which I treated with Benadryl.

As soon as we entered the room a very musty odor came wafting out. Moved rooms, second room not very clean, which seems to be a theme. I chose this hotel because of other guest reviews. I don't mind old but dirty is unacceptable.

The lady who checked us in lacked any customer service. Not even a smile or a welcome. She spoke so fast like all she wanted to do was sent us on our way. I had no clue what she was even saying. On the other hand everyone else was very friendly and the room was clean. The best part of our visit was the breakfast and the three sister who prepared it. Margaret, Mary and Betty. If you have a chance to stay there you have to meet these very sweet ladies. I would stay there again just to see them.

From check-in onwards, the staff were very friendly in a direct way that I'm not used to any more in the Washington DC area :) (where most everyone is glued to their device most of the time and afraid of making eye-contact with another human being) The room was fine, the mini-fridge is a great idea for a snack & a drink, there were lots of towels in the bathroom. The next morning on my way to breakfast, two employees were walking & talking together in the hall. I've gotten used to people in DC just pretending no one else is there, or they look pained & worried.These two looked me in the eye & greeted me. I was almost shocked. The staff in the breakfast room-- two "little old ladies"-- also were very friendly and direct in their greeting. It reminded me Lexington is a bit of old-fashioned "southern culture" and bravo to them! The only "negatives" were in the breakfast room, they use only styrofoam "plates" and plastic cutlery, all wrapped up in plastic. That's an environmental disaster! Not responsible, and not necessary, and where's that all going to go, except landfill? Lastly, if you want a nice cup of coffee, try the Lexington Coffee Shop on Washington Street downtown.

This hotel is really beautiful. I really enjoy that it is pet friendly as I had a friendly doggy encounter. The free beverage room was really nice and I loved the enhanced water. The breakfast was really good and I especially loved the biscuits that were microwaveable. The pool was nice but we didn't use it because we arrived really late. Jason was very friendly when he brought the rollaway bed to our room. My favorite part of the hotel was finding a rubber duck on the edge of our bathtub and getting another rubber duck when we checked out.

Very nice Inn inside and out. They have everything you need from pools to workout room. They have a very nice breakfast and everything tasted really good. We stayed for 2 nights and we had 2 rooms. There were 4 of us. We were there for the Beach Music Festival in Buena Vista and it was about 13 miles away. Not bad. All of the employees were friendly. One of us is allergic to dogs, so we were a little bit concerned about that, but all went well. We were on the 3rd floor and they try to keep the animals on the 1sr floor. The A/C in room #307 rattled a bit and it was a little distracting. Would recommend this beautiful Inn to anyone.

Room itself was ok but the bathroom was disgusting. There was hair all over the floor (lots of different kinds of hair), caked on grime and dirt all over the bathtub, and hair on the shower wall. The bathroom smelled like mildew, there was mold on the shower curtain and seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in months. We asked the manager to clean the bathroom room while we we were out, and when we came home, some of the hair was wiped off the wall but that was it. Our daughter also had an allergic reaction to the sheets or blankets and kept coughing and coughing every time she got close to the bed. Must have been something the sheets were washed in, but it was miserable. We've stayed in many hotels and never had this happen. We mentioned our disappointing experience to the manager on our way out. We couldn't wait to leave!

We have stayed at a lot of hotels on this vacation and thus has been the best! The breakfast was a huge selection and even some delicious homemade stuff! The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable! The staff was super sweet! I wish we could have stayed longer!

We stayed here for a week with our family and totally enjoyed the whole week. The site is tucked a little ways from the rush of town but was near a wal-mart...but not so close as to be disturbed by the hub-bub of the store or parking lot. The staff are really friendly and even helped us with things they didn't need to but did it anyways, especially the day manager - Debbie I believe was her name. She helped us with several things including recommending an amazing peach orchard/market. My youngest daughter really enjoyed seeing all the different rubber ducks. Our room was a nice size and the pool was a nice break after a day of seeing the sights. The staff helped us find different things and even made recommendations of things to see/do. The breakfast was more than just the average hotel breakfast....not huge but more than normal. We also loved the free beverage station that was available 24/7 - it was a nice treat. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This Hunt Ridge Best Western hotel is MUCH better than the other Best Western located 1/2 a mile away and other motels/hotels in the area. Big comfortable room with a desk that was big enough to actually do work on, nice TV, clean bathroom, fridge and microwave, and effective/strong air conditioner. Breakfast had a lot of options and ok quality, but the dining area has an odd smell to it (like industrial cleaning products, something not quite right and after 3 mornings it started to make me nauseated). My room also smelled funny. Pool and weight room are fine/nice albeit a bit dated but not bad.

Staff was friendly, hotel was beautiful! Our room was nice and clean, however, the only reason we gave it four stars is because when we walked into the room, the smell was awful!! I don't know what it was, but it wasn't pleasant. Other than that, everything else was great! Several options for breakfast!!

Stayed one night during a road trip to Natural Bridge and was really impressed with this “plus” version of a Best Western. Excellent location just a few minutes drive from the centre of Lexington's beautiful historic district. Desk staff were very friendly and efficient with check in archived in a few minutes. Rooms light & appetising with comfortabl beds and plenty of towels etc in the basic bathroom. Facilities at the hotel included a 24 hour beverage bar that offered coffee, tea and soft drinks, a great touch. The indoor/outdoor pool is quite small but fine for cooling off after a long days drive. Breakfast is basic with standard hotel buffet processed “eggs” along with cereals and bagels/toast etc. Good enough to get you started but not enough to boast about! Definitely worth considering and I would certainly stay again if looking for a hotel in the area.

We chose this hotel due to it's location and amenities. We were going on a short family vacation and looking for someehere with a pool, comfortable room and near the things we we're visiting. We got it all here - along with friendly, professional service.

We checked in to this hotel after going to the Best Western down the street and finding it was not ADA compliant. I spoke to the manager Johnathon, and he said he could accommodate us. He also honored the rate we had from the previous location. They could not have been more professional and friendly! The hotel was very clean and a very spacious room. It is also pet friendly. There was a nice, clean indoor/outdoor pool. The hot breakfast in the morning was nice and had a large variety to choose from. And, I should mention that they have a complimentary beverage station on the 1st floor that is available 24/7. I would absolutely stay here again!

Right off interstate 81 and 64 in Lexington. Biggest hotel breakfast with everything a family of 5 would want. Very pleasant start, I think I counted 5 different workers in the good service, a big difference. The food area was spacious. First time our family of 5 was comfy in one room.

Hotel was nice and clean the people were very friendly especially the gentleman that was working the front desk. This guy went out of his way to make sure we could get an early check-in. A smile never left his face. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at the BW Hunt Ridge last weekend. We came to work on our property on the Maury River and see Bruce Hornsby and the Noise Makers at the Lime Kiln Theatre in Lexington. The hotel was at a great location to get to the awesome show and there is only one way to describe the Lime Kiln Theatre. Magical.

I prefer to travel at night in congested areas like the east coast. So we left after rush hour and settled in Lexington, VA. Found this great hotel. Indoor/outdoor pool. Needed to skim it first but I do that at my pool. They knew we checked in late and were cool with a late check out, bonus. The free breakfast was awesome. Having vegan children can be difficult. The choices were extensive. Chocolate soy milk on a free buffet breakfast, really??? Way to go Best Westren, BW comes through. I will be looking for those in this trip that's for sure. PS the staff were very pleasant. All of them.

My wife and I have taken Interstate 64 from Virginia Beach to St. Louis on several occasions and this is the best hotel along the entire route. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. We paid a fair price here. Our room was big and spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were fresh and clean. The hotel is easily accessible from I-81 at Exit 191 to I-64 at Exit 55. And there are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby for added convenience. We will definitely stay here again

Super clean rooms, nice pool, great breakfast = great stay for our family!! The kids loved the indoor/outdoor pool that had a window to swim under; they thought that was pretty cool as they'd never seen a pool like that before. The staff was very attentive and I liked the option to grab coffee, tea or cocoa at any time. Definitely recommend this hotel when in this area!

Easy highway access with a very quick check-in. Very nice looking hotel, clean rooms, tea available 24 hours and an excellent, larger than usual breakfast. This would be my first pick for a hotel stay in the region, for the future. Only complaint, wish the a/c fan had a constant on switch, to create some white noise to sleep by.

Location: Hotel is located about 2.5 miles -- about a five minute drive -- from downtown Lexington. Easy access to I-64 and I-81. Waffle House is within walking distance; so is Ruby Tuesday, but you would need to walk along very busy roads. Fitness: I'm a runner. The fitness center was small, but very clean and well equipped. The hotel is not located in an area conducive to running. There are no sidewalks and the roads do not have shoulders. Either drive to somewhere better and safer, or run on the treadmill. Breakfast: Good free hot breakfast. Eggs, omelets, waffles, bacon/sausage, assorted breads, fruits, cereals. Helpful and friendly staff. Check in: Efficient. Wasn't greeted as a member and the staff seemed a little bored, however. Room: Hotel is a little on the older side and shows some age in places like the carpet and furnishings, but checked the necessary boxes: clean, good selection of television channels, and free wi-fi which worked well during my visit. Bonus: They give rubber duckies. :) It was a very cute and nice touch I've never experienced at another Best Western or other hotel. This would be my first choice of hotels if I was back in the Lexington area.

Great hotel and beautiful property. Good location and easy to get to. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a Waffle House within walking distance and gas stations and shopping relatively close by. Not sure why they give out rubber ducks but that is a cool thin anyway.

I needed a room that night and had no problem booking a room with a low price. The staff was excellent and very friendly, and the room was very nice. The hotel looked to be newly renovated and was quite clean.

The hotel was clean and well decorated; the staff friendly and professional, the breakfast was good; the amenities were on par with this hotel; the rooms were clean and comfortable; and the property well maintained in a quiet neighborhood.

A very nice hotel, but showing signs of being dated in decor. The breakfast was top-notch with a complete variety of items and they serve until 10:00 (for us retirees). The noise level between rooms and floors is quite noticeable. The toilet in our room flushed in an unconventional way so had to be flushed 2 and 3 times, thus using too much water. The tv channels were not HD.

I chose this hotel, because of its location, it allowed dogs at no additional charge except for pet cleaning fee of $20. Hot breakfast, several beverages (coffee, tea, hot cocoa, 4 different juices at no additional charge available anytime night or day.

We always enjoy short trips to the mountains. This hotel has helped us to do this more often. Conveniently located off the interstate, it is also close enough to stores and restaurants to help you with forgotten items. The staff is pleasant and helpful. There is a drink bar that my family loves with juices, coffee, and tea. The breakfast is more than a simple continental breakfast and has many options to eat. Overall, we love this location being close to the Natural Bridge, Va Animal Safari, VMI and other sights to see.

We've stayed over in the Lexington area a few times to break up a drive to/from TN. This is by far the best hotel we've stayed at in the area. Beds are comfortable, great water pressure, friendly staff, great indoor gym and an amazing breakfast buffet every morning (4 stations). Cute rubber ducks for the kids.

Clean hotel, comfortable rooms. Some with balconies Betty, Mary and the other lady make a tasty breakfast and our very pleasant. A quiet hotel in a rural location. Close to Stonewall Jackson cemetery.

Just love coming here! The breakfast is the best I've ever had at a hotel! I have to leave early every morning and Margaret and Andy were so kind and helpful. I will be back in August! I also appreciated being able to make copies and use the computer for some work I had to do.

This was a great hotel for our multi-day hike on the Appalachian Trail. So many healthy choices for breakfast, a guest washer/dryer for our daily wet/muddy clothes, 24-hour bowl of oranges in the lobby and hot drink choices, and a hot tub. Rooms were extremely clean and beds were comfortable. All the staff and housekeepers were true Southern hospitality.

The staff is so helpful. They go out of their way to explain charges and make sure you get any discounts available. The breakfast is a bonus. The accommodations are comfortable. We like the coffee station off the lobby.

A good place to stay. Some thought at last in the design of the hotel which is unusual, built on a hillside. Good check in and spacious lobby. In fact the hotel is spacious throughout. The rooms are good as are beds, pillows ok. Business centres on each floor. We stayed here on the way to Virginia from Kansas for a family wedding. The facility is great, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was tremendous as were the ladies tending to our needs. The stationary bike in the fitness room was excellent as well. I highly recommend this hotel.

This is a VERY clean hotel and our pet friendly room was one of the best that we have experienced! The beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet and convenient to taking our dog outside. Breakfast was standard fair and good. The breakfast staff and the reception desk personnel were super! We plan to stay here again!

We took our grandkids to the Natural Bridge Zoo and Safari Zoo over Spring Break. Spent the night at the Best Western Plus Inn and were extremely pleased with the service, room and amenities. Close to the interstate and just a short drive to downtown the location was ideal. Excellent breakfast buffet. Kudos to Deborah at the front desk - so friendly and personable. She really made us feel welcome.

Continental breakfast was fantastic. Rooms are very clean and staff is very helpful and attentive. Hotel is older and could use some updates but that was the worst I could say about it. Overall good stay.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have never had a bad experience. The staff is courteous and helpful. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast area is large and has a good variety of items. The location is easy access to I-64 and I-80.a

We like Best Western. We find them to be family friendly and centrally located in towns we visit. This being said, we found the Lexington Best Western to be dated, not as clean as others we have stayed in and lacking in general comforts. The wall paper was ripped in places, the TV and dresser top was not dusted nor do I assume cleaned in the two days we stayed.There were no toiletries in the bathroom the first night. We did get some the second night. There was a french fry dropped on between the bed and mattress frame when we arrived. The heated pool was cold and small. Breakfast buffett was good with many choices. The hotel was pet friendly and had many places to walk a pet. Parking was ample. The desk help needed to be more friendly. I made a point of making eye contact and greeting them each time we came past but most of the time they were looking down. Other Best Westerns we have stayed out had more of a family friendly feel.

We were exhausted when we reached the motel and it was great to be greeted with a smile. The beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed the breakfast variety -- fresh fruit options, meat, eggs, biscuits and gravy, bagel, pastries, multiple kinds of cereal -- just to name a few! We highly recommend this Best Western and will definitely stay there again.

Just a one night stay. Our room was spacious, clean and comfy. Breakfast the next morning was a disappointment, a very poor selection. Better to just grab something small or go somewhere else to eat. Lexington is a great small town to explore with interesting shops and restaurants.

We toured the Natural Bridge attractions. This hotel provided a reasonable rate, fairly close to restaurants and about 10 miles to Natural Bridge. The front desk staff were friendly. Good free breakfast. Only gluten free items were fruit and OJ for me but the others enjoyed sausage/egg/ cheese biscuits, waffles and eggs. There was cereal and danishes too. Indoor pool was a plus for the cold outdoor weather.

We always enjoy working on our property in Lexington on the Maury River in the spring time. We also love staying at the Best Western Hunt Ridge after an arduous day of labor. The Hotel is at a good location, clean and comfortable. They also let us stay with our Cat. The breakfast in the morning is good too. The staff are always helpful and friendly. We have been staying there for over a decade now and pick BWHR over all the other Hotels in Lexington.

This hotel is clean, the rooms are nice and the staff is very attentive and friendly. Margaret and Mary who are sisters operate the complimentary breakfast. They are sweet women who put there all into pleasing you. They were a blessing to my day. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

Located close to the interstate. Very clean. Good customer service. Comfortable beds. There were two pools, one outside and one inside, as well as an exercise room. Excellent breakfast with eggs, bacon and sausage. We will stay here again on our next trip.

Hotel is several years old, but looks in pretty good shape. It has been updated very well, but some age traits just can't be hidden. Beds were SUPER comfy, about as good as some 5-star hotels I've stayed at.

Easy to get to from I-64 and U.S. 11; plenty of parking; 3 re-charge stations for hybrids. Check in was easy and quick but when asked how I wanted to pay for the room, I had to point out that I had pre-paid. Room had plenty of space with 2 "smallish" queen beds. Heat/AC worked well and was easy to use >> plus it had a "constant fan" setting which is ideal for the white noise. Big tv, but wifi didn't seem to be that strong on that end of the hotel (we were on the opposite end from the conference center, which doubled as the buffet breakfast area). Bathroom was adequate size and everything worked well. Overall, very clean, comfortable, and pleasant. Breakfast was great >> hot buffet with 3 choices of eggs, sausage or bacon, cooked oatmeal, fruit, breads/muffins/bagels, juices, good variety of teas, etc. Staff were friendly and quietly efficient. For the price, this was a great deal.

We have made a one night stop on our Virginia tour near the Virginia Safari Park. The hotel is located close to the highway, where are some shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel looks clean and new, the breakfast is included in the price, it is an excellent value, it is really a "plus" compared to the basic Best Westerns.

This is the second year I have stayed here with my agility dog. We were competing in the Star City Canine Training Club's Agility Trials, and the hotel is very pet friendly. The coffee bar includes lemonade and tea and is always available, and I really appreciated the fresh oranges and apples each day.

Weather was bad so we went to Best Western. Service was excellent and the room was great. Breakfast was more than what we expected and again staff were friendly and very informative. keep up the great work.

We stayed here about 3 years ago and were very impressed. This time the lobby area looked great,shiny floors and clean, We were greeted by a very friendly lady. We could not unlock our door and found out you had to push the handle upwards, strange, it was installed upside down. The room was okay but very dusty all around the edges. Breakfast was okay but the ladies in charge kept standing and watching us which made us uncomfortable and one had a terrible cough, quite a change from last time!!

We stayed there two nights while attending a funeral. The place was probably updated recently. Breakfast was good, although not the best. I believe it was formally a hunting lodge. We would stay there again.

Since it was a slow night we did a pet friendly photo shoot promo for the hotel by the fireplace and Christmas tree. My dog just loved her. What fun!! They have a great free breakfast with a wide variety of items to choose from. While enjoying my breakfast I chatted with Mary, another awesome employee. Before I checked out I had the pleasure of speaking with Deborah not to be confused with Deb. She was a delight as well. Before I left I asked to speak with the manager to tell him how much I enjoyed my stay this year and last year and that I plan on returning again when I pass through the next time. The manager, Jonathan was grateful to hear the good news and thanked me for my business. Overall a wonderful stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you to all of the staff!! Our first long trip with our dog couldn't have gone better, in great part to the experience we had at the Best Western Plus. From the moment we checked in and were greeted with a friendly smile and tons of information about the restaurants in the area (as well as a lot of love for our pooch), until we checked out the next morning, the entire staff (front desk, housekeeping) were great. And the price was awesome as well considering it was a holiday period! We will definitely be staying here again!

This Hotel is a great place to stay. I have dogs that we took with us. They are very accommodating and very nice customer service. This place has free breakfast bar. The breakfast is good. Although I wish they had hot oatmeal available. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this Best Western Plus location twice this past week as we were coming and going on Holiday Week family visit. This location proved to be convenient to Route 81 without being right on top of the highway. The basic room (we got the same room both times) was comfortable and clean. There was one minor repair needed--the toilet seat had broken feet (bumpers?). The complimentary breakfast was excellent with many choices and the room rate made our stay a great value. The staff we met were almost all very pleasant with one exception at our first check-in. We would definitely consider staying at this location again

Stopped at the Inn at Hunt Ridge on our way to South Carolina. Great facility, very clean and very quiet. Breakfast was well supplied by Mary and Jan who constantly monitored the food. Very good. Many choices for restaurants nearby and a Walmart down the road if you need anything. Good highway access. Gas stations on the way in and out to the highway. Will stop again on our way home.

We enjoyed our stay here, the people were very helpful, rooms are clean, very quiet surroundings, nice work out room and there are some shops convienently located nearby. Margaret and Mary, who took care of the breakfast, were very welcoming.

We booked through Hotwire and got good value for a room that was more premium priced. The room was comfortable and clean but nothing exceptional. What was better than average was the breakfast included with a good selection of eggs, pastry, and sausages. There was a pool and exercise room, but we did not take advantage of them this time.

My husband and I and our service dog had a fabulous stay here on our way from New Jersey to Tennessee. Everyone from reception to housekeeping to breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, up to date, comfortable and clean. We always expect a good spread for breakfast at BW Plus, and here they didn't disappoint. We also found a couple of delicious options for dinner nearby. We'd definitely stay here again!

This was a great place to stay, very friendly staff, rooms and lobby were very clean and it was close to downtown Lexington. The lobby was decorated for Christmas and smelled wonderful. The price was reasonable and a good value. I enjoyed breakfast and the coffee was plentiful. I would definately return.

We stopped here for a night on our way from Virginia to Ohio. We were impressed with the friendliness of the front desk employee and then with our clean and comfortable room. The 24 hour beverage bar in the lobby was a nice surprise. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best we've ever had. There was a great variety of hot and cold items and Jan and Andy kept the buffet fully stocked and the breakfast room clean. The topper of our visit was the cute little rubber ducky that every guest receives which had us leaving with a smile on our face. We will be back,

I sat in the lobby to read and I noticed several guest trying to check in and there was no one at the front desk. The young man that was working kept leaving the front area which in affect caused new guests to have to wait on someone to come to the front. There was no bell to let anyone know someone was up front. I found that unacceptable and was glad I wasn't the one having to wait for someone to come to the front to check me in. I will say that this is the first time I have noticed this at this particular hotel. I have family in the area and this is where I normally stay and the service in the past has been much better.

This is a lovely place with friendly service. Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was better than expected and in a large nice room. Really on the value scale, we have rarely seen better. Top of the line for a moderately priced inn. We will look forward to our next stay.

My wife and I stayed at the BW Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge in November 2017. Upon our arrival the staff were warm and friendly. The breakfast was better than most free hotel breakfasts. The room was comfortable and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again. It is a real plus that a nice Waffle House is just down the street.

Overall, this was a pleasant place to spend the night as a break between a two-day road trip. I was surprised at the number of amenities available, and the willingness of the (very friendly) staff to accommodate my needs. The room was surprisingly clean for a pet-friendly hotel - a definite "plus." I would have given this five stars if the bathroom had been cleaner. The soap dish was dirty, the fixtures had dirty, soapy fingerprints, and there was hair in the sink and the tub. The main room had obviously not been dusted in a long time, but the bed was clean, which is what I care about the most. There was a nice assortment of food available at breakfast - even gluten-free items were available! My only negative comment about breakfast is that the scrambled eggs were too salty. I will definitely stay here again, and hopefully next time I will have time to enjoy more amenities, like the pool and the fitness center. They even have a laundry room available, and complimentary beverages/snacks 24-hours a day! Thanks for a nice stay!

just the finest of best western motels. we stayed in a similar best western in rapid city, sd this year while on vacation it was ok but the best western in lexington, blew it away as far as location . friendlyness closeness to parking, wonderful free breakfast, and cleanness.

Stayed here one night while driving through Virginia on a leisure trip. Chose the hotel due to its pet friendly rating. Check in was extremely easy. Nice to be recognized as a Diamond member. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the AM was very good; lots of fresh fruit, including pink grapefruit, my favorite! Easy on and off the Interstate. Gas station located near by, as is a small strip mall, with a Walmart.

Looked forward to stay since reviews were good. Our reservation was not showing, so check-in was slowed up. Didn't seem to want to do anything about it until one of the receptionists sort of found it. Front desk was not very helpful with suggestions for restaurants. Logging on for Internet was difficult and frustrating since the password we were given was invalid.

Best Western is my first hotel choice and this hotel is no exception to providing special touches other hotels do not do. We didn't want to leave in the morning. Fireplace in the lobby. Rubber duckies to remind us of the stay. Who does that?

Super location. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. Breakfast is as good as any first class restaurant in both variety and quality. The location is excellent with plenty of places for dinner and entertainment.

I travel a great deal for both business and pleasure, but I've never before been compelled to write a review - either positive or negative. But I had to drop everything this morning before checking out to rave about my experience at this hotel. This is a business stopover so I expected a routine, business-as-usual hotel stay. Not only was this hotel surprisingly clean, comfortable, and fresh, the breakfast buffet is hands down the best I've ever experienced in a "chain" type hotel. The dining room was lovely and elegant (part of a conference facility onsite); the food was fresh, lots of choices, well presented so that there weren't lines waiting for any particular type of breakfast item. But the thing I am most excited about is the pleasure of meeting Mary and Margaret - two beautiful sisters who tend the breakfast area and meal lovingly and carefully. They are inspiring, welcoming, and thoughtful. When I got up this morning and trudged to breakfast, full of thoughts about a day full of meetings ahead and feeling tired, never did I expect to have such a lovely, welcoming experience. It made my day, and I won't soon forget my interactions with these two star employees at this wonderful hotel. Thank you, Mary and Margaret! I'll be back to see you when in the area!!!

Our daughter attends college in this area so we visit Lexington often! Clean and updated motels are difficult to find in Lexington and the prices can be high at different times of year. We have found this particular Best Western to fit out needs the best. The rooms are kept clean. The breakfast in the morning is really well done. I have always appreciated the staff lady who cares for the breakfast are. She is always keeps everything well stocked! My one request would be if there could be rooms that do not have pets stay in them. As a family who does not have indoor pets this would be a plus for us!

We have gone to Lexington for an event at the Virginia Horse Center and have stayed at the Best Western for the past two years. I would say that it's the best hotel we've stayed in for the event. The room was very clean and well done. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. It was very spacious and had a lot of choices such as scrambled eggs, omelets, waffles, sausage, etc. Our only suggestion is to request a room on the third floor so you won't hear people moving around above you. Overall I would highly recommend anyone to stay hear if you're hear for an event in Lexington.

At $180.00 a night, I found that the "perks" that made this a Best Western Plus was really lacking. As far as I was concerned, there was no difference with this hotel from a regular Best Western or any other hotel.

Very good daily breakfast buffet. Margaret and Mary always keep it well stocked, great variety of fresh food and very clean. They are always pleasant and cheery even early in the morning. All hotel staff always go out of their way to help any way they can. We were here for a large horse show and in spite of the hotel being full, the staff always had time for anything that would help.

This is a very nice hotel to stay out. The staff is great, the outside appearance of the hotel is very pleasing. Love how it looks and how the grounds are maintained. The cleaning staff does a great job.

This was our half way motel to and from Amish country. Rooms extremely clean. Staff was very friendly! We have never stayed in a Best Western before and this one out shines some of the other nice motels we've stayed in! Only thing we didn't like was the room with 2 queen beds are too close to the wall.

The 4 day stay was great. Our room was clean. The beds very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent thanks to the two cooks Mary & Margaret. The eggs & bacon were excellent & kept very warm even at 9:30 in the mornings. The breakfast sent the hotel over the top for our group of retirees occupying 7 rooms. I usually stay at expensive hotels but not any more. This was a moderate price in October during the week.

We were a group of retirees meeting for an annual retreat. Wonderful accommodations, staff and amenities. The location allowed up easy access to attractions in the area and centrally located to travelers arriving from both northern and southern locations.

Super place to stay. Clean, new, nice, and friendly staff, too. Huge breakfast selection and breakfast area. The manager was helpful to us. Even the cleaning staff greet you in the hallway and say, "Good morning." We stay here each time we're in Lexington.

We stayed here this past weekend for two nights. We had a king room with a balcony, but it was ground floor facing the parking lot, so really pointless. The room was ok, the bed was good. The walls are thin. You can hear people in the next room talking. The breakfast was not much, we went to IHOP for a real meal both mornings. For $190 a night I have come to expect much more from a hotel. Lexington is great though! Lots of history to see.

Most things about this place are very good: rooms excellent, sparkly clean, above average breakfast, great location with views of Blue Ridge from front of Hotel. However, we have rarely come across such miserable front desk staff. Our arrival was greeted with a few grunts and the usual keyboard tapping on the computer. The keys were handed over with hardly a word and she just gave us a piece of paper listing the hotel amenities. No welcome smile or chat at all. We got the impression that the lady would rather be anywhere else that day. We thought we might have caught her on a bad day but she was just as miserable two days later when we checked out. We had some interaction with two other staff members and they seemed to come from the same mould - efficient and not actually rude but definititely not happy in their jobs. In every other respect I would give this hotel a 'very good' rating but the attitude of the front desk staff means I have to downgrade it to 'average'.

Pillows are a fairly important part of a place you pay to sleep in. After battling the ginormous pillows for 3 hours, I called the front desk to ask for a different pillow (which I've never done in my life) and they told me that the 4 pillows (yes four) on each bed are all the same in every room all through the hotel. No others. The woman suggested I get a towel from the bathroom to sleep on. Fortunately, I told her I would check out if they couldn't fix and she told me that was fine they wouldn't charge me.

Great hotel, great location, great staff. Clean, comfortable room, balcony was a nice touch; picture is our view.... And, when the desk clerk tells you where to go eat, listen to him! We will be staying there again!

Lexington is a smaller town and options are limited. However, if you want a place to stay where the team treats you great and the rooms and the hotel is clean you pick this hotel. We stay often because of the central location to our son's college. I also enjoy the fact that in many ways we have become family with the team. So if you are in the area again I would recommend BWHR!

My stay was very satisfactory and the staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was completely adequate and everything functioned well. The breakfast offered a large variety of items, including fresh fruits and pastries.

The pool was freezing, had small pieces of trash in it. We were told nothing could be done until maintenance came the next day. Never got left enough towels and washcloths for our family. Breakfast bar was precooked, lukewarm, often soggy snd poir quality

Updated clean Fresh and pet friendly! Would stop again in the future. Breakfast leaves a little to be desired but still ok just don't eat eggs if runny or slimy and park out front not on side as there are many fall risk trip hazards

We were impressed with how clean the hotel was, the beds were comfortable and the were many choices for breakfast. But for being heated the pool was on the cooler side. The staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming.

I stayed here for a week whilst on business in Buena Vista and must say that this was a very comfortable and friendly hotel where they really do go the extra mile. I have to say a special thanks to the wonderful Front desk Manager Deborah Bowyer who really helped me out of a hole when I needed urgent help getting to my place of business. I cannot thank her enough and have no hesitation in saying this is one of the kindest and most customer facing things that has ever happened to me whilst staying at a business hotel. A sincere thank you to her and to this fine establishment!

We stayed in room 229 on the back, it was very quiet and very clean. It was a pleasant walk past the heated indoor/outdoor pool to the breakfast room which had the news on and pretty much any breakfast food you could want. Little Margaret was the attendant and cook. She is a one in a million lady! Best Western should give her a good raise or a vacation on them. We will absolutely come back here and hope to enjoy her deliscious food and southern hospitality again. Unbelievable!

We chose this Best Western as a convenient place to stay after a visit to the Natural Bridge Park. Good pet-friendly hotel with very soft sheets and towels. The free breakfast was way above average with enormous fresh blackberries and blueberries and many more healthy options than usual. Don't worry, they had bacon and waffles too.

Pros: Free Breakfast in nice spacious breakfast area with TVs and good amount of breakfast choices; interesting indoor/outdoor pool - fun to be indoors and then swim outside in the cool fresh air. Cons: The room we had a stuffy smell to it. The air conditioner was very loud. But for a quick 1 night stay it was decent.

Myself and my coworkers really enjoyed staying at the Best Western Plus in Lexington VA. This was our first time here but it will most certainly not be our last. We travel every week for business and we always go back to hotels we like. This Best Western is very clean and comfortable. Everyone was nice and friendly. The location is convenient right off the interstate. There are restaurants close by and it's close enough to downtown where you can enjoy the local restaurants.

BW plus. Staff didn't know what made it a plus when asked. Room was dirty. On checkout, staff doesn't smile, no good morning. When told about room, staff said they would make a note. No apology. "Was there anything else? No? Then you're good to go" was the response.

No fresh towels provided without a special request. Trash left in the room. Beds not made. After notifying the front desk, we were supplied with towels and they took the trash but beds were still not made and no offer of a different room was made.

Best Western Plus Inn at Lexington Virginia has clean rooms, very good bed mattresses,well-organized, friendly staff and a good free hot breakfast. They do have a indoor and outdoor pool that is well-maintained and clean.

We stayed here for one night while on a road trip and were quite satisfied with our room and the facilities. The breakfast was quite good and should satisfy most people. There were plenty of choices and the staff kept it well supplied. If in the area again, I'm quite sure I'll choose to stay here.

We stayed for 2 nights. The staff was super friendly after our 5 1/2 hour drive. The rooms were very clean. I would also note the the beds were comfortable. We were in for the weekend for the VMI Matricualation and will use this hotel again for our future stays.

Another great stay at this property. Crisp and clean, good amenities, easy-to-access location...this is a good option for anyone visiting the Lexington, VA area. The breakfast buffet offers everything from scrambled egg and waffles to cold cereals and fresh fruit. A pool and work-out center are also available.

Was disappointed in the cleanliness of the hotel. I had no idea this hotel allowed pets in ALL rooms. I'm a pet owner that didn't travel with my pet or allow my pets on furniture. Our first room had dog hair on the comforter and pet stains on the floor. Lacked vacuuming and had water stain behind the wall paper in corner of room - very musty. We were moved to another room and the lack of vacuuming was worse. Actually through out the hotel vacuuming was clearly needed. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast room was roomy offered fresh berries and the usual cereals, juices, coffees etc. The front desk staff were okay, nothing special. They did move our room due to the pet hair etc.

We had previously stayed at a Best Western Plus in Pennsylvania. This one was very nice. The rooms were just a bit smaller than average, in my opinion, but very clean and nicely appointed. The beds were a bit softer than usual.

We were extremely satisfied with our stay at this hotel, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, the breakfast area was spacious and had a wide variety of items available. The room was clean and fresh. Overall one of the better experiences we have had at a hotel. There are a number of things in the area to do as well.

Our family enjoyed a one-night stay at the hotel. The staff was warm and friendly and the accommodations were very nice, as expected. The beds were soft and comfortable and made for an enjoyable night's sleep. Our children had fun in the pool and wore themselves out playing in it. My teenage son worked out in the well-appointed exercise room and had a great time there. The breakfast bar was good and above average for this type of hotel. We greatly enjoyed our stay here.

This is by far the best hotel I have visited in a very long time. Clean very helpful. Great Breakfast area and food can't be beaten. Lot's of fresh fruit. The lady's there go out of their way to make your stay wonderful.

Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge is on a ridge and provides a lovely setting. We did not ask for a room with a view, but wished we had. Our room was quiet and well maintained. The inn is convenient to the highway and to the city of Lexington. We enjoyed a quick trip into Lexington to see the sights.

Very clean, pretty, newly renovated and very nice staff; they also allow pets for an added fee.Great place to stay on a road trip or if you are visiting someone who goes to Washington and Lee or the Military school. VA horse show grounds just down the street.

Best Western Lexington, VA has a beautiful setting with the surrounding mountains and the hotel itself is very nice. The brickwork is grand and fits the area. The rooms were decorated very nicely and were clean. We loved that the rooms had a mini fridge. Coffee and juices, lemonade, tea were available all day which is a very nice feature. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The only issue was the rooms had a funny musty smell and the pool was down for maintenance. What hotel schedules pool maintenance in July??? If not for those 2 issues, I would have given it an excellent rating.

No one warned us that the pool was not in operation during our stay prior to arrival. That is why we booked this hotel. The front desk staff seemed like they didn't know how to handle my complaint for this during check in. We booked this hotel so my niece and nephew could swim in the pool after the 3 hour drive, but that didn't happen!

We chose this hotel based on its excellent reviews and were sadly disappointed. Our room was filthy-- stains on the carpet, hair on the sheets, brown discoloration of tub, hair and dirt on bathroom floor. It was the first hotel I have ever stayed where I wore my flip flops into the shower because it looked too dirty to stand on. I also had to lay towels on the bathroom floor for my kids to stand on with their bare feet. The sheets did not feel clean, which kept us awake itching, and the air in the room was muggy and humid. The pools looked dirty, and appeared to have mold growing, so I did not let my kids go swimming. There was a lot of beer drinking going on in the pool area and outside in the parking lot. The only positive is that the hotel staff, particularly, the front desk staff, were very pleasant and personable. I felt this hotel was overpriced for the quality.

I made reservations at this hotel while traveling to Newport News VA for a Navy reunion. The staff Staff was pleasant and accommodating. All areas very. CleAn and neat! Breakfast room staff a pleasure!

Upon arriving in the early morning hours after a long trip we were pleasantly surprised to find a pleasant woman at the front desk of a clean, well lit hotel. The room was immaculate and the beds were great, the bath was fresh and clean. The was no mustiness in the room or "hotel" odor. The following morning there was a simple breakfast in a clean well run restaurant area. All the staff was pleasant and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I was tossed up between a few hotels and chose this one due to the fact it had an "outdoor pool". I was looking forward to letting the kids swim and laying by the pool. The pool does not have loungers, only a few regular seating chairs. The pool is part indoors/outdoors, which was fine. The indoor part was extremely warm and smelled of chemicals. My room was on the 3rd floor and smelled very misty. The air was heavy and moist. The room could of been cleaner, there was a blood stain on the shower curtain and the tub was dirty. The breakfast was alright, nothing special. There is an apartment complex right behind the hotel, so our view was of apartments.

Booked here for the location to everything, free breakfast and indoor/outdoor pool. This Hotel is nice the workers are pleseant. The breakfast is good and plenty, but nake sure you get there before 10a.m or your out of luck. Only wish the hotel had views of the mountains. Overall not bad at all for price.

This hotel was well priced and had extra space and ammenties. The outside, halls, lobby and breakfast areas were very clean. They gave the kids rubber duckies, there's fresh oranges/ apples, cold complimentary bottled water and a refreshment area with lemonade, juice, tea, hot chocolate, assorted hot teas and coffee. The breakast had some great extras like fresh blueberries/ blackberries, fresh cut melon, and lots of options to top oatmeal, yogurts or cereals. I also appreciated the signs offering gluten free items by request. Service was great, staff were very nice. Hotel was quiet till the late arrivals slammed doors BUT that's not the hotel's fault. The pool area was dirty and water smelled fishy. Mildew collected around pool area and drains. The kids swam anyway and the gnats/ mosiquitos bit ALOT while I waited. The inside was too hot to sit in. We had Room 118 with 2 queens and a pull out sofa. Good size and at first glance seemed very nice. The bathroom vent fan DID NOT work. Which posed a HUGE problem when 5 people showered. The shower curtain smelled soured and tub was very dirty and streaked. Mold gathered in corners of bathroom and water spots covered the ceiling. The towels were thick and nice, pull out was terrible. Pillows were tiny and terrible. However, Sheets felt nice, blankets were comfortable. BUT because the showers heated our room the first night, the poor air conditioner could not keep up. We were very HOT all night. We turned it down to 66 and waited. It slowly worked and by morning it was cooled, but we spent the night sweating. Would I return, ummmm... if they service the pools, fix the bathroom vents, scrub those bathrooms and get better pillows then yes. It was a nice place for the most part. The staff were very nice.

You can't go wrong at this hotel. Amazingly beautiful. Room was great size. Decor in room was so pretty. Bed was so relaxing. Breakfast - great choices. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Don't let the great looks scare you. Price was right on!

The staff is so friendly and I love the 24 hour free drinks. The proximity to the horse center is so convenient. Breakfast is delicious, varied and generous. I was extremely pleased with our stay and plan to return.

This hotel is only 5 minutes from the Lexington Horse Center, and a short drive from charming downtown Lexington. While at first glance, the breakfast looks like many at hotels of this type, a closer look reveals some extra touches: Small cartons of soy milk, in addition to regular milk. Bowls of fresh blueberries and blackberries in addition to the cut pineapple, melon and citrus. Plastic utensils and cups that are individually wrapped to stay very clean. Both hot and hard boiled eggs. Three different brands/types of yoghurt.....It all adds up to a much better than average breakfast experience. The rooms have refrigerators and microwaves, and are spacious and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful in response to any request or question. My only complaint is about the WiFi. It connected readily, but was never strong enough for anyone in our party to even download their email, let alone surf or stream. A password was given, but the connection was made simply by turning the device to WiFi.....no log in was requested, nor could I find a place to do so. I did not ask the hotel for assistance, because everyone in our party (about 6 rooms) had difficulty, so I gave up and used 4G instead.

The location was close to the places we visited and the exterior and lobby were very nice. My grandchildren enjoyed the pool and everyone enjoyed breakfast. My only negative comment would be that the rooms were listed as recently remodeled, but did not appear to be so.

We stayed here last year and had a pretty good experience. So,we decided to stay here again on our annual trek down I-81. Called ahead and made reservations about a week or so ahead of time. Secured a ground floor room on the end opposite the pool. Reservatins were quick and easy. Pulled into the hotel around 4pm on a Sunday night. Check-In went quick and smooth. Room was large and clean. Beds are comfortable and rooms are quiet! ALL rooms are pet-friendly, but you would never guess that a pet had ever stayed in this room. CLEAN! Room comes with a mini-firdge, microwave, small coffee pot, blow dryer, iron/board, safe, flat screen TV, alarm clock, etc. A free mini rubber duckie even awaits you on the edge of your tub. Got kids who are going to fight over this one duck? NO problem...there are more for the taking at the front desk! Also at the front desk is bottled water, apples and oranges...all FREE of charge. Next to the office is a complimentary drink station with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, lemonade, iced tea and juice. There are a few vending machines here too. A bit skeptical about buying food snacks out of a vending machine that also has detergent/dryer sheets in it though...I would think it would pickup the taste/smell. Drink station is wonderful though. We thoroughly enjoyed it. In addition to the drink station, there is an exercise room and an indoor/outdoor pool included with your room stay. I didn't visit the exercise room, but on this trip we did make it to the pool. Pool has an indoor section and an outdoor section with an opening in the wall where you can swim back and forth. They have an handicap accessible chairlift and pool towels are conveniently located in the pool area. There are also restrooms in the pool area so you dont have to run back to your room/ Entering the indoor area of the pool, the smell of ALGAE just hits you in the face! It nearly took my breath away. Kids really wanted to swim, so I suggested going outside to the outdoor area in order to avoid the smell. The pool out here was still covered in algae along the edges and in the intake filters. Being outdoors, it did not smell as bad, but our swimsuits and hair wreaked like pond scum! I actually debated about paying to use the on-site coin laundry just to get the stench out of our swimsuits!! The next day, we did take advantage of the FREE continental breakfast that the hotel offers. We were a bit skeptical since last year we were underwhelmed by the breakfast offered here. We were pleasantly surprised to see many of our suggestions and concerns from our last visit were addressed. Breakfast was actually very good. The mini waffles were delicious. We loved the blueberry waffles with the blueberry syrup. Also, enjoyed the prepackaged cereals, yogurt, fresh blueberries, grab-n-go fruits (apples, oranges), eggs and bacon. The eggs were much better this visit, including the ones with cheese in them! In addition to these items, they also had bagels, donuts, grapefruit halves, hard boiled eggs, grits, oatmeal, granola, toast, mini muffins, danishes, fresh melon and a drink station (coffee, tea, juice, hot chocolate). VERY good breakfast selection. ONLY item I wish they had was grab-n-go bananas. Overall, we had a nice stay with this Best Western. Staff was all very friendly this visit. Room was clean and breakfast was very good. I would recommend it, but hope they address the condition of the pool before our next stay. It needs attention...chemicals/cleaning. Bottom Line: You will get a great value for your dollar here. Plus it is QUIET AND it is CLEAN. Close to I-81, I-64 and Hull's Classic Drive-IN theater!!

We were here 3 years ago. It was ok. This time we were really impressed because of the renovation work that was done. And, we were particularly impressed with the front desk folks. They seemed genuinely happy people who enjoy helping the guests. The breakfast is one of the better ones served at BW and it is a nice "restaurant setting". The rooms are very well appointed. If you like BW, you'll love this establishment. Very clean. Close to downtown Lexington, VMI, and Washington Lee U.

Nice grounds, beautiful setting. Overall reasonable value for stay. Welcoming staff who makes you a priority! Perfect location for horse park and close drive for other Lexington sites. Nice pool and workout facilities.

Vacation with the grand kids. From the front desk to the pool, the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. There were enough choices at breakfast to satisfy both the health conscious to the baconator. A very enjoyable trip for all.

I booked a last minute trip to Natural Bridge and stayed here based on the reviews. Pros: The staff was friendly. I had an issue where my credit card was billed after I had paid with Orbitz and that issue was corrected. Breakfast was free and surprisingly decent. The hotel is close to the main area attractions. Cons: I can't believe other reviews called this clean. I've stayed at many hotels and this was NOT clean compared to the hotels I typically stay at. The toilet seat needed to be wiped with antibacterial wipes before use due to some smear of who knows what. The tub (pictured) was visibly dirty. The pool smelled bad. I'm glad we brought rubber flip flops for the shower. The bed was so uncomfortable. We all woke up with sore backs. We could hear people loudly talking in the hall after midnight and before 7 am. In this type of country area, nicer hotels are impossible to find. Maybe this is good for a Best Western, but it doesn't measure up for me. I'm shocked at the good reviews. This is likely my first and last experience at a Best Western.

The entire staff at Lexington Best Western gave us very good service. When asked for information about surrounding activities, they were able to provide them with a smile. They truly were courteous hosts. In addition, the hotel was very clean and well kept. The showers were the most impressive in that the water pressure was strong. Some hotels we've visited in the past lacked the pressure needed to have a pleasant experience. Highly recommend when in the Lexington, VA area.

Hotel was clean and a good value, no issues in lobby or room. Breakfast was included and was fine. It was a single night stay. If I was in the Lexington area again I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Booked last minute trip to visit Natural Bridge and decided to stay in Lexington. Here are the pros and cons that we experienced. I'm really picky when it comes to choosing hotels. The Best Western Plus - Hunt Ridge in Lexington passed all my tests and exceeded my expectations with flying colors. We are looking forward to coming back soon.

This hotel was nicely located close to where we wanted to be in the morning for arc trip home It was easy to get to the staff there it was great they were very friendly and helpful the room was clean and the beds were comfortable my only complaint is I think those hotels are overpriced when you are one of the last one is booking one of the last rooms available

Enjoyed my stay very much. Everything was clean and working in my room. I had a king-size bed and a balcony, which was enjoyable to sit on since it was a warm early summer evening. There's a nice indoor/outdoor pool and an exercise room. Breakfast was quite good with all sorts of choices.

This hotel allows dogs. We were next door to a room with a barking dog and a louder than normal family with a baby. When we got there there was a puddle under the attaching door, we assumed it was from the people next door leaving their swimming suits on the wood tile by the door. We were woke up at 6:30 AM by the dog barking. Talked to the maid about the puddle the next morning and she confirmed it was most likely pool water, but there should have not been a dog in that room.

This is a very nice Best Western Plus. The grounds are very nice and inviting. The building itself is a brick colonial and lovely. Our room was quite nice and very clean. It was nicely appointed as well. The free breakfast was good. There was ample parking for our truck and 32' trailer. If in the area again we will definitely stay here. It's a shame their restaurant is no longer open.

I stayed at this location when in town for a horse show at the Virginia Equine Center. It was less than a mile from the facility I needed to be at daily, the staff was excellent, kind and courteous! the room suited my needs, the breakfast was excellent, the extra amenities in the lobby with drinks and coffee available 24/7 was lovely. The pool could use a little bit of work But that's not why I was there.

This was a great hotel that is well priced. Every thing was perfect, from the courteous staff, clean rooms, comfy beds and soft towels. The free breakfast had a lot of selections that accommodated our dietary needs. The indoor/outdoor pool was unique and large enough to actually swim in. Loved this hotel and would definitely stay again!

I stayed here for 4 nights while my daughter attended a local college soccer camp. The staff were all very friendly and the hotel was clean and well kept. I had a room on the second floor with a balcony. I believe there are only six rooms with a balcony. The balcony was such a great spot and had pretty views of the mountain in the distance. I loved being about to open the door to the balcony or sit outside. Made me feel like I wasn't just stuck in a hotel room. The breakfasts were good with fresh fruits- blackberries, blueberries and grapefruit in addition to mini waffles, eggs, bacon, muffins etc. They have cold waters on the front desk counter, apples, oranges and a 24 hour juice and hot chocolate. It was great to be able to grab a cold drive no on the way in or out. The pool was nothing spectacular, but it was wet and was a nice spot to cool off. They put cute little rubber duckies on the edge of the tub and offer more at the front counter. All in all a comfortable good place to stay. Very close to downtown Lexington and Buena Vista. If my daughter ends up attending SVU I am sure we will make this our go to hotel.

We spent our honeymoon here 8 years ago. We even went to the same restaurant to eat that first night. It was just as nice this time as it was the first. Will definitely return for another visit. Clean, beds that slept good, quiet.

When traveling between NJ and NC, I have a wide choice of hotels to stay at to break up the trip. We choose to stay at the Best Western Plus Inn at Hunt Ridge because I have a great experience each and every time. Staff is always friendly and helpful, rooms are always clean, pool is great, and breakfast actually tastes good with a great selection! There's also a small refreshment station available 24/7... I highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed one night and everything was in god working condition. The hotel is a short distance from main highway, which made it extremely quiet at night. The breakfast staff were very pleasant and the food was good. We look forward to our next stay.
