Best Western Lexington Inn

The room smelled bad upon entry, the TV remote didn't work, and there was mold/black grime along door and floor next to AC unit. The breakfast set-up leaves much to be desired with everything separated on random counters but no markers telling you where to go. The staff were friendly and courteous but definitely not the Best Western experience I'm used to at other locations for cleanliness/room satisfaction.

Came to Lexington to see granddaughters ride in a horse show. This hotel was close to the Horse Arena and was clean and nice. The employees are very friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant within walking distance so that was nice, too.

Although we chose this hotel and location simply as a stop over, I can easily see why Lexington could be chosen as a destination. It is such a beautiful town filled with history. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at The Palms. The hotel, although older, is very well maintained and Jenna, the front-desk clerk is a gem. Thank you for keeping up the great work, Best Western.

Fair price for a nice clean , recently updated room. Just stayed overnight while passing through. Breakfast was good with a nice variety. The staff was especially pleasant. The rooms are open to the parking lot, this was convenient for us, but I would not recommend for someone traveling alone.

Don't pay more than $80 total/night ! We were charged $191/night in total for two nights. Our plans were somewhat last minute and had few options. Terrible water pressure, no bath ventilation, tiny bathrooms. We booked a second floor room to aviod damp carpets/floors (that seemed to work) People had quiet pets, so that was good !

Clogged shower, sink and toilet drains, toilet tank wasn't filling. Peeling paint on doors. A tired and worn motel desperately needing maintenance. Nice staff. Broken look to vending room. Beds are fine. TV small but functional. Don't recommend this property.

We needed a room for a couple of days for our granddaughters event. Best Western got is I'm and the room was fantastic. All personnel were polite and courteous. The amenities weren't fancy but they were just what we needed.

The mattress was horrible and sank when you lay on it. Room had bad odor. The carpets were dirty and stained. The Ac was loud every time it came on. Staff was not very friendly especially at the breakfast. Breakfast was bad.

Omar of Best Western in Lexington, Va provided excellent customer service attending to our specific needs to accommodate a wheelchair. They provided an excellent breakfast and were all thoughtfully kind.

Smokey and dirty carpets - doors had several variations of locks making you feel the hotel has ongoing security issues. Told that ground level rooms are the hardest to keep clean and smoke free and was moved to 2nd floor that was not much better. Front desk staff were nice, the hotel was very tired.

Carpet looked old and dirty, valance above the window and door was dirty looking and valance above the door was separating. The tub was slippery; the faucet handle in sink was very lose. Staff said they have had many complaints but nothing gets repaired.

First, I want to say that Omar at the front desk was wonderful. He was friendly, kind, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to get us checked in and situated. As for the room, the door handle was a little challenging to work but we dealt with it. The rest of the room was fine for what we needed which was just an overnight stop on a road trip from Florida to New Hampshire. I would say average to above average for an off the highway chain hotel. Loved that the area wasn't too busy and having an Applebees just steps away was so great. I wish we could have tried the breakfast as it sounded really good but we were up and out way before it started. I would definitely make this hotel a regular stop on future road trips.

Listen I have stayed at this hotel for several stays and I usually love it. Omar at the front desk is always amazing! This time a kind of aggressive red headed lady gave me a scolding. I really was kind of offended. I did talk to management about it. After almost 25 stays and being the respectful person that I try to be this was an interaction that was not needed.

Love this place! There is an Applebee's right across the parking lot within a two minute walk, clean, dog-walking areas impeccable, gas station right next to.it and a Pit Stop convenience store. Happy

Had another great stay. This is our 6th or 7th stay at the BW in Lexington. Great spot. Reasonable pricing.Restaurant close by and station service also next door to fill up before continuing our trip.

Weather and plans quickly changed. So, sadly I found myself needing something reasonable, decent and fast, I brought the coupon book to this nearby Best Western, a chain where it seems I can get the most reliable quality for a reasonable price. The Best Western Lexington Inn did not disappoint. I worried the fine print, "If coupon price isn't available" was code for bait-and-switch. Told that only double-bed rooms were left, the super-nice desk clerk not only took the coupon, but put me at ease and even walked me to the room. At that point, I was in. The room lacked nothing: The usual amenities, fast WIFI, microwave and fridge, and two double beds, one perfect for all my stuff and the other for a great night's sleep ... and a pretty good breakfast the next morning. All for a $100 less than the Scranton PA Courtyard I stayed in last night, which offered far less. Sometimes, after a bad day, I walk into a motel fearing the worst; these days, these days, getting a decent and affordable motel stay is 50-50 at best. At Best Westerns, the odds are a lot better; I don't think anyone could go wrong aft this property.

Room not ready on check in which was at least 1.5 hours after quoted time. Stains on carpeting and upholstery. Slippery stuff on bathroom floor like it was sprayed and not wiped up. Could have bounced on the bed like a trampoline it was so flimsy. Overpriced for this kind of accomodations

This is our 3rd time staying at this property for the Star City/Dog training club of Lynchburg AKC trial held at the Virginia Horse Center -- always a plus of our year. Generally, I love this property. It's quiet and the rooms are clean...and we appreciate everything management and staff does to make us and our dogs feel welcome, especially during these two trials each year. However, this time -- unlike past stays, it seems that there's been a sense of apathy toward the grounds and cleanliness. Obviously staff and management have no control over the vile pet people who do not clean up after their dogs, but the amount of trash on and about the property -- i.e. lots of cigarette butts strewn in front of the main entrance, and trash not picked up at all all over the property is disheartening. From the time we checked in on Thursday to the time we left...all trash was in the same place. We've recommended this hotel to dog friends including new friends coming to the trial in February and that we choose this one over the Best Western Plus on the hill because of the easy access in and out of the rooms. For us, price is NOT a factori....sad to see that the grounds seem to be an afterthought. My only other complaint was having to have our room keys re-keyed several times b/c evidently cell phones blank them... We're looking forward to our return trip in February, however, if things have not improved, we will consider either the other Best Western or bringing our own RV (as the Virginia Horse Center has hookups on site). We love this property...we just expect better.

Very comfortable, right next to an Applebees, quiet and spacious room, well maintained facility. Clean and bright. Lots of options for walking the dog. So glad they were pet friendly. Coffee and tea 24 hours is great.

One night stay during our Virginia road trip. Made phone call reservation from the road, and check in was easy. Room on the first floor was clean, comfortable. No issues at all. Right off the highway, so easy to get to.

Best Western Lexington was clean, pleasant, and dog-friendly. Applebees is right next door. After a long day of driving we were happy to be able to walk to dinner. There are hot drinks in the lobby, and breakfast was plentiful and good.

Hotel was reasonably priced but carpet was stained and bathroom floors could have been cleaner. The room had a strange smell. Staff was friendly and helpful. We have not had breakfast yet. This hotel seems to be in a good area with things to see and do.

This location is great for area. We attended an event at Virginia Horse Center here in Lexington for several days and this hotel is just a few minutes away. Next door are convenient dining options, parking is good. We were able to park in front of our room because our room was in back; if you have a room in front section, you cannot park in front of rooms there. Check-in experience was okay, but not great. as the usual "Thank you for being a Best Western Rewards Member" never happened and our Elite status perks were never offered until we inquired about it the next day. Our room was clean except for the vanes on the A/C unit which were dirty - I cleaned them myself when we got into the room - partly because I wasn't sure they'd be cleaned thoroughly and partly because the room smelled of smoke This is a non-smoking property. I cleaned the A/C and put drops of eucalyptus and lavender to try to get rid of the smoke smell - since I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. That worked well enough, but it didn't help that smokers would gather immediately outside the rooms, smoking and throwing cigarette butts everywhere. Biggest problem was that our TV never worked - the picture was too dark to see anything, and we could find no way to fix it. When we reported this the first day of our stay, we were told by someone at front desk that all the TVs in the entire hotel were that way, and it could not be fixed. So, NO TV the whole stay. Worse, at check-out we were told by another front desk person that the problem COULD have been fixed, and that it was NOT true that all the TVs had that problem. Strangely, we were never offered financial compensation for this problem. Probably would not stay here again, if only because front desk staff was so sporadic in their knowledge and helpfulness. And that's a BIG part of staying at any Best Western.

Best price we could find. Motel style rooms, they were spotless, mattress was a little hard for me, but not like a rock. Lobby and grounds were well kept. Breakfast has a good variety of things to eat and the entire hotel was well staffed and friendly service.

The staff were great with a easy check-in and out services. Breakfast was good. The day I stayed it was extremely hot outside and the staff made sure that the AC unit was on and that the room was very cool prior to my arrival. I will stay here the next time I visit the Virginia Horse Center.

The staff was extremally friendly and helpful. They were obviously under staffed but the folks working there did a GREAT job. The property was in good condition and clean. They were accommodating with my service dog. The location was perfect!

Do you like pet friendly hotels? If so, this is a hotel for you. Our room that we stayed in was a bit musty smelling, along with the water pressure on the toilet was not very strong. The beds were not very comfortable either. In addition the card reader/lock on the door was difficult to work with. I recognize that there is a staff shortage, and the 1 person that was working did help with any issues we had, so that is much appreciated. My main reason for the average rating was that I don't think 218.00 for the room we slept in was worth it. The saving grace on why I didn't give a lower rating was that the breakfast was pretty good. I would encourage any potential hotel guest to search for other options unless you have pets.

We loved the location, the price and the friendly staff. Lexington is a beautiful town and offers a lot of specialty businesses. We were highly satisfied with our stay at the Best Western. Thank you Best Western!!

Pro- Front desk lady was helpful and friendly. Room was nice sized and clean. Con-Not sure if the whole hotel is non smoking or not as some rooms said no smoking signs some did not. That being said there were a lot of people smoking outside their rooms. You either had to walk thru the parking lot or go thru the smoke if going anywhere. There needs to be a certain distance from the hotel to smoke. The parking lot is filled with cigarettes doesn't look like its ever been cleaned. The breakfast was good for the most part until I saw the lady who works there, placing more biscuits in the bread bin with no gloves or tongs, that was gross before covid and definitely something she shouldn't be doing now. I hope that the lady who was working will be spoken to and re trained.

I reserved three rooms at this location for the VMI graduation and stayed there with my family. The hotel staff was friendly and wonderful, always willing to help with questions or accommodations as they came up. The rooms could use some updating, but for what they were, they were clean and functional.

Nice Staff, Clean, well maintained hotel, easy check-in, easy check-out, close to downtown Lexington and VMI. Hotel has well taken care of, not noisy in the least, well lit in the parking lots thus security is good.

I booked this hotel after reading reviews. I have never felt the need to write one, but wanted to protect others. Our hotel room was extremely dirty and smelled horrible (musty, damp and pet urine). The chair and carpet were horribly stained. The bathroom light didn't work, but was fixed. However, we also reported that the air conditioning wasn't working properly and that wasn't fixed (and wasn't able to get rid of the dampness). I reported the odor and the staff member described their intensive cleaning process used after pets were in the room, but offered no accommodations to us. She did say she would research and would charge the previous people a cleaning fee as they obviously didn't report a pet!! I'm not sure how a housekeeper would have missed the stains and odor! We booked ahead, so they knew we were coming. Rooms are all pet friendly and there are no rooms reserved for those not traveling with pets. Breakfast was okay, but mediocre. The hotel was located in a quiet area and the beds were comfortable. However, I would not stay here again!

I normally would not give a bad review but am making an exception this time. Our room was priced well over $250.00 per night, including taxes. We had made reservations in advance and were dismayed to find a dated, dirty hotel room with torn, stained filthy carpeting. The bathroom floor was also dirty. In addition the TV did not work for about 20 hours and there were no weather problems to cause an outage. The lobby computer was not working the entire three days we were there. The area outside our door was littered with cigarettes. The only positive points were the decent breakfast and the very nice employees.

Really great hotel & convenient to access. Check in was easy and the check in person was friendly and helpful. We were given a room on the first floor which is great with a dog. An Applebees is on the property so easy to have dinner there.

Employees were very helpful and kind. Rooms were clean and staff came back to the rooms to make sure everything was in order for us to check in. Breakfast had a large variety for the kids to pick from and the facility is close to the horse center and restaurants.

We stayed for 1 night at the Best Western and it was everything we needed - clean rooms, friendly staff, and breakfast! The king bed was super comfortable and we slept very well. Plenty of room and we had everything we needed for the night and stay.

The room was clean and prepared for guests. Plenty of hot water, a great breakfast, everything looked well maintained and clean. Internet and breakfast information was on the room key holder. Applebees Restaurant was next door. Courteous and helpful staff. Just my wife and I (no kids), we did not need to use laundry service, fitness room, or wish to read the newspaper (wife uses internet to get majority of her news. It was a pleasure staying at this Inn.

Great room very clean and next to an apple bees the room was clean and spacious great hot water for the tub, the staff were excellent and friendly, coffee available 24 hours I did not have a chance to enjoy the breakfast

Room carpet was not clean (stains). Room lock broke, locking us out with our possessions inside. Had to wait for hotel staff to replace the lock. Room rate was more expensive for our Thursday night than for our Friday and Saturday night.

It was a average stay at hotel... It was clean comfortable, and I get points with them... We were heading home from holiday's and got caught in traffic from snow storm, that put us behind, so we just decided to stay over night.... The price was kind of steep with our dashound, even though we had a coupon, AAA, member, and point system... It was average hotel / Inn...

Stayed at the BW in Lexington VA and very happy. Room was large and well appointed and they welcomed our pet. We had space to walk him which is perfect. Nice to. have an Applebees' next door in case you don't want to travel for dinner.

Our stay started off great, Amanda at the front desk was so nice, gave us a room in the back and great suggestions on local places to eat. The room was quite nice, although we encountered a constant humming noise coming from the bathroom area that went on all night. And you could hear people in adjoining rooms when they were talking loud. The late night staff did take care of some rambunctious neighbors, but wasn't able to do anything about the bathroom noise. They did offer to move us to another room, but it was very late and we did not want to pack everything up and move at that point. Our real disappointment was with the breakfast. We were told there would be hot scrambled eggs and a potato/sausage/onion casserole as part of the breakfast, and we were really looking forward to that. However, we got to the breakfast area 40 min. before it ended, only to find no Sausage casserole nor any hot eggs. We were told by the young woman working there that the eggs were gone, no mention of the casserole. We had previously stayed at another hotel and when the eggs ran out, they made more. At this motel, we were directed over to cold hard boiled eggs. All the staff person said was ‘sorry' and went in the back.

Stayed here Oct 14. Room was clean and at a good price. Convenient to interstate and restaurants. Had the best breakfast on our 13 night vacation. Eggs, a potato/sausage/onion/bell pepper casserole along with many baked items, cold and hot cereals were on the buffet. I would recommend and stay again.

so my husband and I decided to go to Natural Bridge for anniversary. We chose the Natural Bridge Hotel originally because it was Central to everything we wanted to go to and we had our four-legged daughter who does not like to ride in the car. Therefore we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. It was my fault for getting our check-in time wrong, and we arrived 4 hours early. Nevertheless, checking in at 4:00 wouldn't do even if I was prepared for this, because we wanted to go to the safari and the last car is allowed at 4:00. We couldn't go anytime earlier, because they don't allow pets in the car. Which means we really needed to check into our room. The hotel staff offered us to have a double bed room instead of the king that we reserved. The double bedroom was horrible and I'll leave it at that. We call the Best Western and asked if they had anything available they did they had one room that they could make work for us and they did they made it work beautifully! I believe his name was Shane and I can't remember the lady's name who checked us in. But she worked the afternoon shift. They were absolutely wonderful! They worked with us last minute. We probably called them three or four times within 20 minutes to make reservations; cancel reservation; make a reservation; cancel reservation; and then finally to get directions. Not one time did they give the impression of irritation. They were completely empathetic to our mess. I was so grateful to the way they handled things, that I was in tears by the time we completely checked in. Happy tears. It was our anniversary and they saved our weekend! The only issue we had was with the AC unit. I think the filter may need to be changed, the room was very humid even with the temperature set for 67. My husband who could sleep in an 83° room, set the temperature for 62°! The breakfast that we are all used to at Best Western was almost there. They didn't have eggs or the famous mixed fruit. But they did have make your own waffles, sausage gravy and biscuits, boiled eggs and all the other cold items that we've come to know. They even had a motorcycle wash station! I've never seen that anywhere. I didn't see any motorcycles take advantage of it, but we did, we washed our four-legged daughter so that we wouldn't clog up the tub with hair. They had Bistro Style seating outside. And a good size dog run area. I can't speak highly enough about the staff!

Stayed for Parents' Weekend. Didn't expect much, but this hotel was ok. Looks like they've tried to update furniture, mattresses, and bathroom fixtures. Pros: Bathroom was clean; mattresses looked like new; sheets and towels were a bit cheap, but decent enough and clean; I didn't see any bugs; very well lit outside Cons: The carpet should be replaced (it is worn); bathroom is very small

carpets had tears in them that exposed the floor underneath. no apparent attempt had been made to fix them. hair on the bathroom floor behind the vanity and behind the commode. clerk gave an insincere apology when advised of the problem at check out. hotel is dated and needs an overhaul. breakfast was good and typical for most hotels.

I made a reservation over the phone in August for a reunion weekend. When I arrived the receptionist argued with me. Saying she couldn't help me check in and could not get me my original price I was quoted. I was tired so I didn't want to argue and needed a room for my family. She also said the room might not be clean. The room needed to be vacuumed but the bed was clean. When I tried to check out on Sunday no one was at the checkin desk. I went around the corner and the staff was smoking and gossiping paying no attention to me. I just left the room keys in the room and was never given a recipe since I had to go home quickly.

If you are like us and find yourselves unfortunate enough to get a room that smells like urine and you have no option but to stay in the room, here is a tip: Take a bath towel to the front desk, and ask the front desk to spritz it about 20 times with the orange-scented air freshener it has. The urine smell comes from the AC unit, so stretch out the bath towel on the AC unit where the air blows. That should help cover up the urine smell a bit. We stayed in Room 101, which was on the ground floor and has two separate beds. One employee told me with a completely straight face that the urine smell was actually the smell of the bathroom cleaner. Which was not true, because the bathroom smelled fresh and the AC smelled like urine. Best Western, you LITERALLY have an employee lying to guests and telling them that Best Western uses bathroom cleaner that smells like urine. That's not good PR for your organization. You need to train employees to not lie, or if they are going to lie nonetheless, teach them to tell semi-believable lies!

Long story short, Priceline mislabeled the intended room type in a major way, which we could have dealt with for a single-night stay but were not at all keen on for our four-night stay. As this was a prepaid reservation through Priceline, the hotel's hands were tied; however, front desk clerks Ben and Madison made things right through multiple phone calls to and from Priceline and Agoda over the course of almost an hour. At last, an appropriate room for what Priceline led us to believe we had booked was provided for the entire four nights at no additional charge--not an upgrade per se, but straightening out a problem on Priceline's end that the hotel was under no obligation to fix, especially given that they were nearly sold out of rooms for this period. THANK YOU to Ben and Madison for above-and-beyond fantastic customer service! These hard workers and nice people deserve all travelers' respect as well as a raise from Best Western.

The staff was friendly. They offered a complete breakfast which is greatly appreciated. Our room was good and it was clean and quiet but the carpet and chair were so stained and nasty. They really need to replace the carpet. I never did understand why hotel use nasty carpet anyhow. We enjoyed the little sitting area. Applebee's is right there at the hotel. I noticed they have a bike washing area. we were content to stay here and did sleep well but they really need to do something about that nasty carpet because it does take away from everything else they have going for them.

Lobby and breakfast area very nice. Breakfast was good. The room was clean and spacious. Carpeting needs to be replaced. Carpeting is very dated, appears to be dirty and stained indoor-outdoor from the 70's.

Stayed overnight on a long drive. The staff was amazing. I had a few calls I had to do and they let me use an unoccupied conference room so I could have a quiet area. It was so nice and unnecessary and hugely appreciated.

Reserved Non-smoking room (3 nights stay) ahead of a busy competition weekend. Left hotel at 5:30AM returning at 9PM. The room smelled like an ashtray. Drapes and furniture smelled like cigarette smoke.

The best western was easy to access, in a visible location, had good amenities. The room was clean, cool (which helped since it was sweltering), and had a working fridge, hair dryer and good water pressure. We would stay here again.

They only had carry out breakfast until 8:30 my key card stated 9:30 front desk worker could not and refused to get me a simply box of cereal at 9:00 in the morning don't expect to ask a favor or them to go out of their way

Good location, great staff, bit pricy. Have a lot of utility contractor personnel satying there, so noisy in morning. grab and go was not particularly good, but no BW has a very good one. Liked that it was close to town and cVMI campus.

VERY disappointed in this Best Western. I found the staff to be very unhelpful. Calling me ma'am while being unhelpful does not constitute good service. Older hotel, cleanliness 2/5. The upstairs room I received for a 2 week stay - with no elevator to move luggage - was supposedly non-smoking but smelled horrible to the point of giving me a headache. I went back to the desk but was told it was a non-smoking room and there was nothing else available. Corners of the bathroom, and hvac system were dirty. In room fridge (no freezer) and microwave worked fine. Apparently they change the WiFi code every Monday, which is great, I appreciate the security, but would've been good to know when I checked in so I didn't waste time trying a bad password, having to track down a number for the front desk (the button on the phone does not work) and having to call repeatedly since I couldn't get an answer. Good location. Easily accessible. AC and heat work better than pretty much any room I've stayed in, so there's that, but if you like to sleep cold with several blankets or a comforter, bring your own - the bedding is 2 sheets and a very thin blanket. I'm not sure if things have gone downhill due to covid, but regardless, I hope to not have to stay here again. Ok

Had a pleasant stay here was very clean and following covid procedures will definitely come back if in the area breakfast was great and met some good quality people there safe to stay here parking my semi was no issue

Staff and accommodations were excellent. Rooms could use some updating. Location is great, next to Applebee's and a gas station. Unlimited coffee and juice and the rooms have a fridge and microwave inside.

Although the front desk was kind and attentive, I felt the condition of the rooms was very dated and not up to other Best Westerns we have stayed at and not a good value for what we paid. Bathroom was very small, fixtures were old and not working properly. We will not stay here again.

This was the best experience at a hotel. During such a weird / scary time during Covid times I felt safe ~ from the exterior door to the room situation and my own hvac system to the bright lights outside right down to the clean towels in a bag taped off for safety. Comfy bed and great internet too. Thank you!

Clean and comfortable. High speed internet and grab and go breakfast. ready every morning. Mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The staff was exceptional, so kind and helpful...made me feel at home.

My sister and I stayed here two nights based on the price and TA reviews and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check in was fast and friendly. We felt the hotel had taken the extra measures to keep all Covid Safe (ie. towels, toiletries and remote clean and secured in bags). Even though there wasn't a breakfast buffet due to Covid, the choices were good and plenty. We would definitely come back to this hotel in the future.

We stayed four nights in October while there was an event at the Horse Park. The checkin experience was great - the clerk was friendly and courteous, and because I had mentioned a special need she called the room 30 min after we checked in to verify that all was OK. All the public areas were clean, as was the room. Price was very reasonable for what we got. Recommended.

It's Best Western, the room was clean, the gentleman at the front desk was kind, no noise, and convenient to Natural Bridge and the Safari. Will stay again. Applebee's was right next door and stores were close. I highly recommend this for a quick vacation to enjoy the nearby attractions.

This location was not up to Best Western standards. Non smoking room smelled of smoke and staff not friendly. Not a good value for the money. Have stayed at Best Westerns before and this location was not up to par.

The hotel was clean, friendly staff. It was nice to have the breakfast. Room seemed to be updated nicely, will come back and visit next time I am in this area as I am a Best Western reward member and always stay at BWs.

this hotel was very clean, the staff was excellent. We were staying for a wedding with a group. There was no pool but nice outside seating where we all hanged out the first night. The only negative I would give is due to the virus, there was very minimum breakfast. I have stayed at Best Westerns before so this was not normal and not the hotels fault, normally a good hot breakfast. Also the location was very close to downtown Lexington

Tanya and Christie did an awesome job. Room was clean and they were so responsive to our needs. Food was available next door at Applebys. Check in was smooth as was check out. Staff was great and got us extra towels to clean our motorcycles.

My family of 3 stayed here for just 1 night so we could visit the safari park at natural bridge. It was a very clean and quiet stay. Gas station and Applebee's in the same parking lot and another gas station/subway across the street. Front desk was very polite and accommodating. Highly recommend this Inn.

Overnight stop on road trip. Reasonable priced. Front desk staff was friendly. Hotel room is exterior entrance. Room seemed recently updated, with the exception of the bathroom which was showing some age. Bathroom needed cleaned better - found several hairs. Happy with the price we paid for needing a room to sleep.

Returning home to Maine from Florida during the Covid-19 pandemic our goal was to make the trip in record time, and to minimize social interaction. With this in mind we looked for a clean hotel close to Route 81 with separate room entrances.  The Best Western Lexington, VA turned out to be the perfect place for us to feel safe and get a good night's sleep. The night staff person couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful, taking our credit card info over the phone in advance and giving us extra coffee to make in our room the following morning. The beds were comfortable and we were happily surprised to discover Rubber Ducky perched upon a facecloth arrangement on the side of the tub - a welcoming touch!

Excellent experience. I've stayed at this hotel multiple times now, and I have always been more than satisfied. And I love that they are so pet-friendly, which is very important to me. Always very nice front desk staff.

I've said it before -- when I give reviews on here, they're tailored to the type of property I'm reviewing and for what that property provides. I've stayed in 5 star hotels and I've stayed in budget friendly hotels. This past weekend, I stayed in this hotel upon the recommendation of friends for the Star City AKC dog agility trial at the Lexington Horse Center. Originally I tried to book the Best Western Plus -- but glad it was full and we found this one. Upon arrival, staff were friendly -- the king size room was spacious and clean -- no Pet smell; the grounds were clean (often as is the case in pet friendly hotels you find an overabundance of people who do not clean up after their dogs). Surprisingly, I liked the outside entrance rooms for ease of the dogs. Breakfast was the usual assortment of breads, cereals, waffles, eggs, etc. My ONLY complaint about this hotel is the fact that on Saturday night -- with the hotel being mostly full -- I couldn't take a hot shower. Water was lukewarm at best. That's why I'm not giving this hotel 5 stars. I loved trialing at the Lexington Horse Center -- so we'll definitely be back! This hotel gets it right for what it offers.

This was my first BW and was impressed. This was an older 1960 or 70's hotel with exterior access yet was freshly renovated or exceptionally well maintained. Breakfast included what you would expect and extras such as fresh blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. I brought my dog and was in a pet friendly room yet the room was clean in every way and my dog found no previous scents to explore. Would highly recommend.

We were going to stay at the other Best Western since we were there before and very pleased but we drove past this one and it was a bit less expensive so we thought we'd give it a try. Excellent value but honestly just excellent choice! The price was good but it was nice and quiet - beds were comfy - good breakfast choices. Very enjoyable. We'll be back !

We are best western rewards travelers and arrived to a dirty toilet and only so so working shower - nothing a toilet brush and wrench couldn't fix. Traveling south so only a one night pit stop stay. Room large, with usual amenities (fridge, microwave, hair dryer..) No pet smell in room which is key (our small dog certainly knew other pets had been in room though). Quiet heating/ac unit - nice. Husband used indoor pool (full of kids) and small gym (had to himself) which had all you need for a quick workout. A bit further from highway than desired but with a pet you do what you need to. Area safe. Able to have local pizza delivery to room - convenient after a long travel day. Would recommend (hotel only need to give a bit more attention to detail to get a higher rating).

We stayed for one night on our way to Tennessee. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfy and the room was clean.They offered a nice variety of breakfast items. I was super excited to find Greek yogurt available! Cheese eggs, potatoes, sausage patties, toast, bagels, waffles, fruit and cereal were also available. There is an Applebee's adjacent to the hotel and there are other places to eat nearby. Oh and upon arrival, bottled water and snacks were available for rewards members. We enjoyed our visit and plan to return.

We stayed one night on the way to North Carolina. Location was convenient. Beds comfortable. Room was clean and updated recently. Conveniently located next to a couple of restaurants. Would stay here again.

Before our trip to Lexington we looked at reviews and focused on the Best Western Lexington Inn (do not confuse with Best Western Plus). Reviewers described it as "clean," and so do we. The desk and housekeeping staff were super nice, and the complimentary breakfast proved to be of high quality, varied, and in a pleasant, well-lighted area. Our room (214) seemed larger than others where we've stayed. We plan a return to Lexington and the Best Western Inn.

I prepaid for the room as you get a chraper rate and called to confirm. Upon arriving I was charged more and found that my Am Ex had not been charged. Front desk ladybwas very rude and talked down to me.

The price posted on google maps was about $10 low. Still $75 plus tax is mid range these days. The room was spotless. The AC unit was dated and used an uncalibrated analog dial to set temperature. Still it worked well. The rooms have lamp plug ins for charging. The bathroom is large and modern. They give a rubber ducky with your stay. It was a nice touch and showed their sence of humor. I think the desk staff are all local housewives. Easy to talk to and delightful people who care. The breakfast may be the best we have seem short of a cruise ship. The cereal comes in individual name brand labeled containers. Most of you don't know what that means. Most hotels have a dispenser with a name brand label and knockoff cereal in them. Knockoffs almost universally contain gluten that Sue is alergic to. Some name brands are gluten free. There is so little she can eat, having a few items that are labeled is huge. The breakfast must have had half a dozen fresh fruits cut up to put on whatever. Scrambled eggs and sausage patties (not grease soaked) were available. Several types of yogurt and of course waffles. Boxed Milk, dispenser juice, and coffee were in abondance. Even the walkways were freshly painted. You drive up to the place and think this looks classy and it is. We will be back to this one.

Great breakfast and ammenities. The only bad thing was I found bugs in the room and on the bed. I chose this hotel because they were pet friendly and they didn't gauge me with a high pet fee. They had nice area to walk your dog and they had bags. Great location right off the highway.

The staff here actually make you feel that they care about your experience here. Very genuine and friendly. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Great beds Easy acess to highway and conveniently located near city square and good restaurants. Best stay on this road trip

We recently stayed here for 7 nights. We found it a great place to stay. We would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Lexington, VA. It's an easy on/off the freeway. The breakfast was great. Nice selection and dining room always clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice. We did have a handicap room and found it more than big enough. My only criticism would be that the tub was step in. They did have plenty of handicap bars. Would definitely stay here again. Very happy with everything.

We stayed over night when traveling back to Florida. Easy location with a restaurant next door. Room was nice,updated and pet friendly($-charge) The breakfast was very good. Only problem was we had a stink bug on our ceiling(told at check out)was told bed was king and it was a queen and the room was a little pricey. We would stay here again.

Room was clean; however the bathroom was very small. Shower and toilet area were tiny and cramped. Breakfast was good with nice variety. Beds firm, but comfortable. Nice areas for dog walking with pick-up bags provided.

It has become so difficult to find a smoking room at a decent clean motel/hotel. My husband can not do stairs so if there is no elevator then we must have a down stair room. BW had a down stair room AND it was clean, comfortable bed and spacious and meet our traveling needs.

I was driving through on the way back to the Eastern Shore of MD and had just explored NC and the Asheville area. I had wanted to see the Stonewall Jackson Museum and go to the local Wednesday Farmers' Market. I checked in Tuesday night and there were quite a few contractors checked in. It is a good location with Apple Bees next door and I believe a Pit Stop next to the restaurant. The room was very clean, with nice furnishings and a comfortable bed. It was very quiet, even though it appeared the hotel was nearly booked. Christy, the front desk clerk, was friendly and professional, and quick to respond to remote control not working. Tayna, I believe Ass't Manager, was also friendly and professional in making sure there were no issues with the room. She was also helping with cleaning, since they were short staffed that morning. The Kitchen staff provided a delicious breakfast with fresh fruit salad, yogurts, milk or Silk almond milk, omelette or eggs, choice of breads and bagels, cereals, fresh fruit and make your own waffle. Unfortunately, going into town, my car was hit and I was not able to go to the museum or farmers' market. The local Enterprise did not have a vehicle until two days later. So.... I spent three nights at the Best Western. The next two nights had a mix of guest from contractors to vacationers. Also, there was a Horse event taking place in the area. It was nice to see the picnic table area being used by either contractors or a ladies group. I did finally get back on the road and really enjoyed the beautiful ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I do plan on returning and staying at BW again! I would also like to explore the Lexington area. It looks like a beautiful town that is surround with history.

it was late and the girls at the front desk were engaging and kind. love that coffee is available 24 hrs. I was a little surprised to see that this hotel is more of a motel. It would be perfect for when I travel with my pups. I had a unit on the end and could smell cigarette smoke thru vent in the bathroom from people smoking outside - turning on the bathroom fan helped eliminate this a little The room was clean and water pressure was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. The room I had was for those traveling with pets and there was a stain on the carpet. I have dogs and get it. Not a deal breaker. Its a privilege that they allow pets but feel it very important that those rooms be designated and proof of vaccinations be available. I understand it was possible its all they had left. Over all - I would stay here again. Price is fair for the area and you cannot beat people to welcome you after a long days travel. Thank you!

always stay here when traveling between florida and new england. love that they accept dogs in their room and do not charge an arm and leg for that. they are located just off highway, right next to applebee's and a gas station. perfect for a weary driver.

A nice place. Our room was clean, the A/C worked well. It had a good location, the staff was friendly and the breakfast worker kept the supplies full. I liked the feel of the hotel - a bit rustic because all the rooms had an outdoor entrance off of a nice patio. The grounds were well kept also.

If you like a musty dirty room, mattresses that are uncomfortable to sit on let alone try to sleep on, electrical outlets and lighting fixtures that do not work, an uncontrollable A/C unit and a TV with mystery channels because there is no guide available, then this is a close to heaven as you will ever get.

On our trip from Pennsylvania to North Carolina on August 8, 2019, my husband and I stayed at the Best Western Lexington Inn. We found the room to be very clean, and the bed very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the free breakfast the next morning. The staff was so cooperative in helping me with my smart phone navigation, that we went out of our way to stay at the hotel on our way home on August 12, 2019.

While on a college tour, we stayed at Best Western in Lexington, VA, on Tuesday, July 30, 2019. At 1:30 a.m., I awoke with burning skin and I saw red patches all over my arms. I immediately wondered what had bitten me. Fearful that worse would happen, I stayed awake until about 5 in the morning, when I fell back asleep out of exhaustion. In the morning, I had 5 places that were so swollen I couldn't identify the cause. When I showed the ladies at the front desk, they expressed concern and one said maybe I reacted to the laundry detergent. As I drove home, my arms throbbed and felt like they were on fire. I took Advil and used hydrocortisone cream, but that did little. On Thursday, I went to my doctor. He was confident that I had bed bug bites. He prescribed a strong hydrocortisone cream and said to keep using Advil. Now, 12 days later, the itching has subsided, but I have 13 bite marks on my body. My daughter, who shared the bed with me, has a bite on her back too. In my BW email review, I gave a scathing response and received a reply 2 days later. The person claimed someone checked out my room while I was there and didn't see any bugs. That did NOT happen. I wrote a response & included photos and asked that someone from BW respond again within 10 days. No response. Stay at BW at your own risk. If you have problems, they don't really care. What I can say is I went to bed on Tuesday night with no bites, and I woke up on Wednesday with 13 bites. You decide what really happened.

When I travel to/from New York City, I must break up the drive to prevent sleeping while driving. With so hotel choices in the Lexington area, the Best Western (Lexington Inn) is perfect in every manner of comfort, convenience, cleanliness, price and service that you could want.

We stayed this past weekend while attending a wedding. Broken clock ok can deal with that. Water smelled terrible like a fish tank. Came back from the wedding to find 3 inches of standing water on the bathtub with FOOD floating in it. Went to the front desk who gave us a plunger to deal with it ourselves. Absolutely disgusting!! Clerk told us she'd give a room discount but we were still charged full price. Stay anywhere but here

We had a nice stay at this property. The room was very clean and quiet with comfy beds. It had all the amenities we needed, and I liked that the vanity was outside the bathroom area. Because it is an older renovated property, it had a somewhat musty smell, but hubby didn't notice it. Plenty of hot water and nice thick towels. The toilet was older with a very slow flush. We were very happy with the breakfast offerings. The breakfast area was clean and well tended with helpful staff. I really appreciated the fresh fruit, and there was a bowl in the refrigerator of fresh melons, pineapple, and fresh orange slices. There were also fresh blueberries and strawberries. You had a choice of eggs, turkey sausage, bacon, waffles, cereals, yogurt, etc. Coffee was not too bad, either. We met up with some friends of ours and they enjoyed sitting out in the patio areas in the mornings and evenings.

Best Western has good location, easy access and convenient parking...Staff was polite, efficient and helpful, the common areas and facilities were clean. In walking distance of restaurants and gas station.

Like most Best Western's I have stayed in they have comfortable beds, nice clean bathrooms and you end up with a relaxing stay. This one did just that. It is also right next door to an Applebee's, ideal for an over night trip on our road trip. We also managed to catch up with our laundry in the guest laundry service. Pleasant stay. Worth a stay if you are passing. Would return.

Stopped off for one night, hadn't booked but ladies on reception gave us a good price. Large clean room, ideal location for us as we just wanted to grab something to eat and have a couple of beers without either of us driving. Breakfast included in price which my husband said was good, the coffee I had was ok

The hotel and staff were excellent. Check in was quick and simple. The rooms were very clean and roomy. The bathrooms were spotless. The free breakfast was great and a variety of items to choose from.

The hotel was dirty overall. The worse was our bed. Someone else hair and corn in the bed. Front desk gave us a new room but I was still unimpressed. I checked our new bed and it looked okay. I always stay at BW but this was disappointing.

I stayed by myself for the first time and felt very safe and comfortable. All the staff were great and very accommodating. It was a great location and I would definitely stay again. It was perfect for what I was looking for.

We stayed here on a stopover on the way home after reading previous reviews. I too believe it was recently renovated. The place is nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only drawback was I couldn't get a queen size bed.

This BW (on US 11) is just north of the town of Lexington and just south of I-64, which, in turn, is just a mile west of I-81. The "negatives," minor that they are, of this hotel? No daily newspaper and no "meat" at a really good breakfast (sorry, sausage gravy in not a meat). I called ahead and requested a "quiet" room. Ruby, who also checked us in efficiently and expertly fulfilled that request more than adequately. We were in a sizable 2 double bed room. The room was very well lit (not always). The refrig (no freezer compartment) and microwave were "hidden" in a compartment in a dresser. There was a card with the TV stations on it (not always). The sink, with lot of sink shelf space, was outside the bathroom. Something we had never seen before was sitting on top of the toilet tank. It was a plastic "shelf" with a lip that would prevent toiletries from falling off.......very neat. The breakfast room was nicely laid out. There was some outside seating for warmer weather. The breakfast had, as I mentioned, pretty much of everything.

We stayed here on our way to Virginia Beach. I was so impressed with how clean the rooms were. The bathroom was very clean. The price was great as well. The Clerk at the front desk was very nice. I would stay here again without question.

We stayed at a Best Western near Lexington VA. We did not have a reservation and we got the last room. We were very tired and the check-in was quick and cordial. The room was clean, and the beds very good. Lots of hot water and a very clean bathroom. Best Western has lovely linens.

Hotel was very clean. Employees were extremely friendly and breakfast was exceptional. Beds were comfortable and the hotel was conveniently located. I would definitely stay at this hotel again! It would have been nice to have a pool and fitness center. Otherwise it was a great hotel.

We stayed here during my recent college class reunion. It was a stone's throw from the headquarters hotel, but it was less expensive and we could get a king room. It is an older hotel, but it appeared it had been renovated not too long ago. Our room was spacious and clean. The room had a safe, a microwave and a fridge. Very convenient to downtown and to our college. Housekeeping was excellent! A breakfast was served, including eggs, sausage and/or biscuits and gravy. They also had fruit, yogurt, coffee, juices, and pastries. Best of all they had a Belgian waffle maker. Yum. I highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Lexington or just passing through.

We always stay at a Best Western because we have always had a good experience with them within our budget. I must say this one gets an A+ from us. Friendly staff, clean room and a fresh breakfast while being a fair price.

After our stay on this hotel, we went to a social event at a 5 stars hotel where we stayed also for 2 nights, and we were surprise to see that Best Western actually has better presentation and it was cleaner than the 5 stars. Everything was clean and looked very new! The personnel was very attentive and would recommend this hotel to anyone! Our experience was one of the best in the past 12 months!

Clean, basic room, with refrigerator and microwave. Decent breakfast. Glitches: Phoned ahead for room on the wooded side, with a king bed. No record of this a couple hours later at check in. Ended up in a room with 2 double beds.Too close to NCAA tip off to change. Fuzzy TV reception---too close to UK tip off to change. My Android,Samsung phone would not connect to their WIFI, (had not had this problem elsewhere). Staff was friendly, but.....

This property exceeded all expectations. When traveling over the last 8-10 years Best Western was not on our list of places to stay. We were somewhat reluctant to book here but we did and we were completely impressed. From check in to check out everything went smoothly. Being able to pull up to door and unload was something we have never encountered in over 10 years. Rooms very clean and bed was very comfortable. Bed linens were cleaned and fresh. Bathroom was spotless.Morning breakfast was very good. My wife was very happy as was I. You simply cannot find better in this price point and I have rarely found better at twice the price point. This property is well kept, outside grounds also well kept. Thank you to the staff and thank you Best Western. You will be on our travel radar from this point forward.

An older property that offered an excellent stay for those wanting safe, clean, reputable accommodation.We were coming to Virginia Military Institute for an event. The location was perfect to eat out, shop, and get back on the road.

Was in town for a few days for work. Rooms were nice and large which was a plus. Clean and safe which is what I look for in hotels. Only downside is that the doors are all outside and the housekeeping cart makes quite the racket on the walkway if they go by. Would still stay here again though.

After reading TripAdvisor reviews, I decided to book my long weekend in Lexington at this Best Western, after switching it from the B.W. Plus. Indeed, it was very clean (which is my #1 look for), the customer service was great, nice close location to town, fair price, and overall a satisfying stay there. I would definitely return! I did heed the advice to stay on the wooded side, which was overall pretty quiet, except for some loud trucks in the AM. Definitely good advice!

A quick run off of I-81, and the hotel is right on the Lee Highway. Easy to find and within walking distance of a couple restaurants. Staff were friendly and made it easy to check in. Ample parking, but no elevator to second floor. All outside entry rooms. Bed was great, and everything worked. Breakfast was fine, and the TV wasn't blaring. Gas fireplace in the lobby was nice, too. Would stay again.

When you ask a room rate and compare with online rates the games began. Told just go online and book as the gal types away on her computer and changes the online rates as I was booking Then big smirk on her face "Like how did that work" found another discount rate. Paid on my Best Western Credit Card. Had a long talk with Bestern Western about ethics and my experience

The Best Western was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff was helful and efficient. The area had a lot to offer and we would stay here again. We made reservations the same day of our arrival and had no problems. We would stay again.

We had had a very long, bumper-to-bumper drive from up North on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We also had a puppy with us. We wanted peace & quiet & a pet-friendly hotel. We FIRST went to the Best Western "Plus" in Lexington, but let's just say that the front desk personnel left much to be desired. We did Not like the vibe or being treated rudely. We INSTEAD decided, on our own, to go back to the main light & cross over the highway & check out the "regular" Best Western (next to Appleby's) - - and once there we learned that the rate was $60 less! And two women behind the front desk were so much friendlier! We quickly got a very quiet room around back. We could not have been happier with the overall experience. (Room had the basics, including a fridge and free WiFi). There was a grassy hill outside room where we could exercise the pooch. All the way around, we felt that we had totally lucked out. This is now our Go-To place to stay on our regular road trips North to South and South to North. (And just 5 mins from the Devils Backbone brewery! where we filled a growler and had great tavern food.)Who needs "Plus" when the Real McCoy "Regular" will do just fine and dandy?

The Best Western Lexington Inn located off of I-81 and I-64 in Lexington, VA is a very nice hotel to spend the night. It is very well kept inside and out. The staff is very friendly and the premises are dog-friendly too. The morning breakfast was delicious and wholesome. Access to rooms are at ground level for those having first floor accommodations. It is also right next door to an Applebee's, which I dined at.

Our stay was perfect! It was clean and the bed was wonderful. The staff was very friendly. Check in/out was quick. I liked that Applebees was in walking distance. We had a good experience there so well.

We had traveled from North Georgia and decided to spend the night in Lexington, VA.on a Wednesday night. We chose from the numerous hotels available the Best Western as we were familiar with the chain. We were glad we did. We got a great rate and a free breakfast for two to boot. The Hotel is conveniently located at the intersection of US Hwy 11 and Interstate 64 all within a mile of the junction of 64 with I-81. The room was clean and the mattresses very comfortable. So, as we traveled back through that weekend on our way home, we decided to stop again for a stay that Saturday night!! Yes, we were that pleased. Also, very convenient to the historical sites in Lexington.

This is an older 2 floor motel that has been redone and it is very quiet and clean. Our room was well appointed and clean. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well that night. The breakfast buffet was good and had a nice selection of breakfast items. The shower had good water pressure for a nice shower and the ac system worked well and was reasonably quiet. I would stop here again as it is in walking distance to the Applebees next store.

We had room 218. It was clean and comfy. It's right off the highway and close to everything. The breakfast hit the spot for us. Just enough to get you going. The staff let us know where good places to eat were in the town. They were spot on. The only issue I could see it was that the restaurant next door shared part of the parking lot. We did not have any problems with this. The place was quiet during the week. Would come back there again..

Bed covers did not fit well and bunched up. Refrigerator froze our stuff. The breakfast was below average basted on experience at other Best Westerns. Parking was good with outside entrances. The pet walking area was on a steep slope!

We stayed for 2 nights. The room7 was clean enough, needed detailed dusting, like vents, baseboards, picture frames. The staff was kind and helpful. Our stay was just for sleep, so it fit our needs. It's a convenient location right off the highway.

A last minute trip to Washington and Lee on parents weekend left us with no choice but to book at this hotel. The next available hotel was 15 miles away. An old fashioned motel style all the way down to the exterior door entrance and indoor/outdoor carpet in exterior hallways. The rooms have been updated sometime over the past 10 years. The room and bathroom were very clean. Beds were a little lumpy but tolerable. Front desk staff were pleasant and accommodating. All in all, I would stay here again as opposed to traveling 15 miles away.

Basic BW, Clean & Tidy and room well serviced. On arriving at our room (117) found safe not working, reported and receptionist said would be fixed the following day....never happened (We stayed 3 nights) - we are travelling 4 weeks and don't like taking everything with us when touring locally. 1st night a disaster - Truck Driver leaves his engine (Fridge Unit) running all night - noisy as hell - reported to receptionist. 2nd night he parked further away but still could hear the noise..... Aircon could be quieter and when someone 'flushes the toilet' in room above, can hear the cascade for 90 seconds whilst system refills..... Stayed in many BW's - this one is sort of OK but sorry will look for somewhere else in Lexington (Plenty to choose) should we return.

Property nicely landscaped, Staff friendly, room clean and modern looking, bed comfortable, the only thing was what to do with all the pillows? Breakfast was decent. No problem with checkout. No complaints...

Reasonably priced and great value. Convenient to both I-64 and I-81 so whether you are travel north, south, east or west it is convenient. Clean efficient room.Breakfast was basic but well prepared and satisfactory.

Stayed overnight as part of Cosmos tour. Room allocated had been modernised with coffee making facilities,microwave,fridge.Vanity across back of room with hanging space ,ironing board etc. Shower over bath,with toilet in same room VERY small,and needs modernising with new skirting tiles and modern paint colour instead of PINK to conform with rest of room update.Breakfast OK.Bedding consisted of two king size singles both of which had to be used individually

We have traveled to Lexington, Virginia for a few years to attend a Bluegrass Festival in Buena Vista. This was our first time to stay at this particular Best Western and question why we have overlooked it! The property and rooms are well kept and clean, people are very friendly and helpful, our bed was very comfortable and breakfast was all a person could reasonably ask for. Rooms have a refrigerator/freezer, microwave and coffee pot. The towels we had were the softest/nicest and as white as we have had anywhere. Just off I-64 for easy off-on plus gasoline, food and shopping close by. On top of that the cost for lodging was considerably less than others. We will check this Best Western before all others next year if we return!

Yesterday, We were in Lexington, Virginia! We stayed at the Best Western. The room was nicer than the average Best Western! It hand been updated a while back. The beds were comfortable. This is a older property. There is no elevator, if you have difficulty with stairs ask for a first floor room. I prefer rooms on the town side, the view is a nice woods. The other side faces a gas station and the expressway. This hotel has a pleasant room for the breakfast. I would stay here again!

Last month we were traveling down 81 and grew tired dorm 10 hours of driving and pulled off the highway. We found this hotel near the exit and thought we'd try to stay the night. My husband and I hadn't tried to locate a room online. Well, we walked to the front desk and the young lady working could not have been friendlier and more helpful. We got a very nice room and she helped us locate a nice place for dinner. She was so sweet that I took the time to write down her name and make sure I let the hotel know how great she was to my husband and me. Her name was Kotty and she was polite and professional and made us feel like VIPs. We will always make sure we stay here in all our 81 travels. Thank you Kotty. And I was also impressed with the breakfast provided. Very delicious .

We arrived at this hotel, again with no reservation and rooms available. It's nice to be able to park in front of your room and go right in, as all the rooms look to have their own outside access. Our room faced the outdoor pool. King bed. Breakfast was good and hot. Again, the continental style breakfast, with all the usual fare. They had a nice hash potato/sausage combo. Definitely would stay again.

Although I am not a fan of properties with exterior corridors, this is a safe and very clean motel with extremely friendly staff. Rooms were standard, beds comfortable and had a microwave and mini-refrig. Internet was free with quick sign-on. The only issue was the TV had poor or absent reception on some of the channels and a dark picture but did not stay long enough for this to be a reason to complain. The hotel is next to AppleBees which closes at midnight and also easy walking distance to Dairy Queen. Pets have plenty of "green space" available to them.

When we arrived it was later in the evening and the woman at the front desk was fantastic super friendly super helpful. When we got into our room though the air conditioner had a good bit of mode that was very visible. However the room was clean and so was the bathroom. The next day when other family members arrived the morning desk person was not as friendly almost put off by us wanting to get in to the rooms. The breakfast was not as good as some other motels that we have stayed just the basic cereal yogurtAnd fruit as well as the waffle making.All in all I would more than likely stay here again if it was for a very short stay. But there are other Motels in the area that looked more pleasing.

My son and I were driving from MD to SC and needed a place to sleep along the way. At 1 a.m. I was not interested in spending a small fortune. What a pleasant surprise. This place was inexpensive but was as clean as any hotel I have stayed in. The front desk was so pleasant. The room was clean and they even offered complimentary breakfast. I never think to stay at Best Western for no particular reason but I would stay at one again. It was a good experience. No it wasn't the Hilton but it was clean and that's what matters to me!

Great staff with clean rooms. Nearby shopping , eateries and close to downtown. Free hot breakfast and great coffee. Near great attractions and free parking. Visited the Natural Bridge and you must visit the Pink Cadillac Dinner.

We arrived without reservations & were taken care of by an "in training" front desk person. She was great & the trainer was terrific! The queen room was had been done over recently. Decor' was modern, bed was comfortable most importantly the entire place was CLEAN! Breakfast was typical. Great value for the cost!

Stayed for one night while seeing Natural Bridge. Since NB has few hotels, none of that have any amenities we need, we chose to stay here. This hotel had everything we needed: a fridge, microwave, wifi, free breakfast with a lot of food choices. Immaculately clean, comfortable room. We asked for a lower level with a space outside the door and got it. The staff was especially nice. Sharon checked us in and out. She was such a nice lady. Tracy at the desk was also very nice.

I found this hotel by searching for pet friendly hotels in the Lexington area. I feel fortunate to have chosen this one. The Best Western in Lexington is a simple hotel, but simple in a good way. It is motel style but has all the necessary amenities and is kept clean and feels secure. It is right next to an Applebee's, a gas station, and a Dairy Queen. All the staff I met were very friendly and the breakfast bar was a particular plus. Joyce oversees the breakfast bar and, again, although it has the typical good breakfast bar options, everything is stocked, fresh, and appropriately prepared. I know it seems like a given, but it has been a long time since I've been to a hotel breakfast bar where everything was available, everything is fresh and well prepared, where there are a salt and pepper shaker on every table, where everything is clean. Well done to Joyce, the cleaning, and front desk staff.

Great location just minutes from historic downtown Lexington. Great staff, large clean room. Free breakfast that was always better than expected, with no skimping on eggs or sausage,great waffles. Bargain price with upscale service and provisions.

An older hotel that is very basic. The rooms are “okay” at best. Had many maintenance issues (drapes off the hooks, sink wouldn't shut off, stained carpet, etc) We had a problem with very tiny bugs in the sink and even on the pillows. The free breakfast was seriously lacking. Powdered eggs, sausage and peppers with potato's cereals, etc. they also ran out and it took 30 Minutes to replenish. The location is convenient to VMI and other areas and the price is reasonable.

Good value, pet friendly, clean hotel in a quiet location just 5 minutes drive to downtown Lexington. Stuff was very professional and accommodating. Very nice breakfast room. Nice dog walk opportunities around the hotel.

The hotel was clean and modern with very reasonable prices. Two stories but no elevator. The WiFi was fast and there is plenty of parking. Park in front of your room. Applebee's restaurant is across the parking lot and a gas station right next to that. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. Will look to stay here on our next trip.

We have been staying at this hotel for over 5 years during our daughter's time applying and subsequently attending Washington and Lee University. While it is not fancy, it is always clean and a great value - especially when compared to other area hotels at peak times. We have seen and appreciated many improvements to the property over time....the rooms have been redecorated, the towels are a bit thicker, in-room WiFi works better. I hope we will find our way back to visit beautiful and quaint Lexington now that our daughter has graduated. Thanks for taking care of us over the years!

We had driven all day and ready for stop. This place is conveniently located right off I-64 and we have had really good luck with Best Western hotels in the past. When we were checking in the lady at the desk acted like she was almost too busy to take care of us. Since it was getting later in the evening and we were ready to get off the road we took what she said was her last room. However, it was on the second floor. That would be fine except they do not have an elevator. We are older and had a hard time getting our luggage to our room. No one offered to help. Room was just ok. Nothing great.

We stayed here just overnight on our way to Natural Bridge the next morning. It was comfortable, clean with a satisfying included breakfast. Nothing fancy, but all you could need. Staff was friendly and efficient.

The Best Western is convenient, but there are at least 1/2 a dozen other hotels to choose from including a newer Best Western at the same price or lower. The beds were not comfortable, the AC was either freezing or off, the shower had mold in it, the decor old looking. If I had known the area better, I definitely would have chosen a different hotel.

Best Western is very clean, reasonably priced and with very friendly and helpful staff. A great place to stay in Lexington. The property has been renovated sometime in the recent past and they did a great job.

There is a Best Western about a mile away that is much better! This one was average. The staff were not particularly friendly. The breakfast ended too early and was not kept up. The bed was not particularly comfortable.

Clean and basic accomadations with a decent Appleby's next door. Close to VMI. There is no Uber or taxi service in Lexington, but this isn't the fault of the hotel. Be sure if you have difficulty with stairs to ask for a 1st floor room as there is no elevator.

Price was good but our room had 2 doors that lead to other rooms on each side. I felt I needed to whisper. There was also a hair by my pillow on the bed. Also, no conditioner provided. Wouldn't choose again.

My family enjoyed our 2 night stay. Front desk very friendly and helpful. Room was nice and comfortable bed. Great breakfast buffet. Would stay here again. Loved that juice and tea was available 24/7. Also liked cookies in the evening.

Hotel was okay, breakfast was plentiful and the room was clean and spacious. However did overpay as the hotel refused to accept the advertised Virginia travel guides voucher that the very kind lady at the Virginia tourist information shop gave to go to the best Western. I don't like that it draws the customer in, then they refuse to give you the advertised rate. Its unfair and if they don't want to accept 'voucher customers' why bother advertising? I stay at this hotel when I travel to the horse center for horse shows. It is always clean they have a good breakfast selection and the staff are helpful and friendly. It is an added bonus they are pet friendly.

We really liked this hotel. Nice and clean. And we loved the hot tub. I give it a 4* because the staff seemed a bit distracted when we were there. We were put there by a timeshare partner and were a bit put off with them but then the staff seemed a bit put off about our questions about their partner. But overall it was a nice place.

Someone really cares about this property. In a world where so many hotels are corporately run and you feel like a number; it is really nice to find a place that is different. This hotel has all the amenities one would expect and it is well maintained. I think it is likely an older property that has been totally remodeled, nonetheless it was as nice as a hotel that charges twice as much. The little things matter, thanks to those here that make a difference in little ways.

Stayed here one night in an older room which was very clean, and comfortable! Breakfast was good and there was an Applebees restaurant across the parking lot. There was a New Holiday Express in the same parking lot but this older hotel/motel was much better value. Very friendly staff and very reasonably priced. I would stay here again. A great travel spot.

Thought it was nice that the front desk called us after we settled in to make sure our room was okay and we didn't need anything else. No other hotel has ever done that. Good touch! Clean room, coffee pot and items stocked, frig & microwave in room, four pillows on each bed, soft sheets, decent breakfast for the room price we paid and good customer service from the front desk. Across parking lot from an Applebee's and a gas station/C-store. It is also close to other restaurants and down from a nice, big antique store.

The rooms were a good size, very comfortable and the location is good, very convenient. I liked how close it was to food outlets after a long day of travelling. The breakfast was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The Best Western near Applebees is a great place to stay. It is clean, well maintained and convenient to all things to see in Lexington. The breakfast are well stocked with eggs, sausage, gravy, toast, waffles and pretty much anything you could want to eat for breakfast and is always stocked very well. Very friendly people work there. We always enjoy out stays.

If the sheets and mattress were updated this would be a most comfortable stay. A nice clean room with a good hot breakfast. Always ask for a room that is not near the rooms where the construction guys stay.

The stay was a very positive experience, good staff, nice room and comfortable bed. We were traveling with pets, and the walking area was convenient and sufficient. The breakfast better than most. Good price for the quality.

The heater kept coming on with load banging and failed to keep the room warmer than 66 degrees. It was in the 20's at night and only 30's during the day and snowing so this was pretty miserable. Staff was not very friendly and helpful and when I asked them to fix this they said someone would look at it but the next night it did the same thing, waking me up at 2am with horrible noises and preventing me from sleeping. Hotel was clean and beds were nice but staff were not very friendly or helpful and the overall experiences was therefore very unpleasant.

First stay for us at the newer BW version of Best Western. This is a lovely new property that is convenient to both freeways in Lexington. Impeccably clean. Good breakfast. Will stay again when we are in the area.

Overall the hotel is good and will probably stay again. We did however experience minor problems in our room that are not reflective of all the rooms but do suggest that some minor problems for the hotel may be major inconveniences for guests! - fridge door wouldn't close therefore it ran all the time until I wedged it closed - Chilly night but no comforter on the bed

good place to stay. Rooms have outside rather than interior entrance. Bed was hard and would benefit from a foam pad. Interesting touch - there was a small Christmas rubber ducky on the bath mat that was folded on the side of the tub/shower.

My wife and I could not believe how smooth our stay was at this hotel. We used it as a stop over on the way to the Macy's Day parade in NYC. The beds were sooo comfortable, the bath towels were so soft. The breakfast was excellent. The staff, every one that we spoke with, were very kind and helpful.

On the plus side, a young lady named Jeanie who worked in the breakfast room was friendly and helpful. She brought us freshly cooked eggs when we didn't like a seasoning in the ones that were in the serving dish. The room was clean. On the negative, internet was very slow and the bed was too firm for me.

Overall, my one-night stay was pleasant. The staff was nice. And it was reasonably quiet. The room was cleaned as best as it could be, but the tub looked like it had been around for quite awhile. I think it was cleaned as best as possible, but it still looked not quite pristine. The room overall wasn't a 10, more like a 7. I wouldn't have any issue with staying here, but they need to make some updates.

I used the hotel becasuse price was mid range but after entering the room I was blown away with how nice it was. I appeared to have been recenetly updated, extremely clean and for the money was perfect in every way. The breakfast the following morning was excellent, almost as good as home! I will definetly stay again the next time I am in Lexington!!

We wer extremely satisfied with the Lexington, Va Best Western experience. When back that way again we will stay there again. We will suggest to our friends when on vacation to stay in a BestWestern hotel.

Finding clean and updated hotels in Lexington is not an easy venture. We saw that this hotel had updated since we had stayed there a few years ago and so we gave it another try. While it has new furniture. . . . the carpets were still stained and our room had a musty odor. We felt $150.00 was a lot for this hotel.

There was some kind of event happening in Lexington, VA last weekend. Demand pricing policies kicked in and almost every hotel in town was charging 2 to 3 times the normal weekend rate. Best Western charged a surcharge for demand weekend but nowhere near the price gouging of other hotels in the area. This is a classic motel which I have not seen in years but it has been well maintained and free breakfast was much appreciated. They had classic make your own waffles, scrambled egg product and sausage patties plus pastries cereals, fresh fruit, and cereals. Room had refrigerator. Applebees restaurant and a convenience store that sold wine were within easy walking distance so you didn't have to drive over town looking for travel necessities and dinner. I subtracted one star because of the floor of the shower. I've seen this problem before. The hotel sprays some kind of stuff on the shower floor to prevent falls, most likely because of the result of a lawsuit. This stuff rarely wears well and either shows the grit that looks like dirt or the material becomes discolored and looks dirty. Staff went out of their way to make sure shower was sanitary but the appearance was not convincing. The hotel industry needs a good technical solution to this problem.

Stayed here for a leisure weekend in the mountains. Property easy to get to, very clean, parked right in front of our ground floor room, staff great, breakfast great. We never stay anywhere but BW if we have the chance.

Just stopped in off the highway used trip advisor to select this motel. The motel was clean and neat but no frills the room had a refrigerator and a microwave a plus but the towels and sheets were be low expectation,And the pillows need replaced.

This hotel is the best I've ever stayed at. The employees are kind and helpful. I am disabled and they all went out of their way to help me. The room was very clean and was everything promised I didn't try the free breakfast though. The walk to my room was a little far. But sufficient handicapped parking.

I usually travel with dogs. The exterior entrance makes it more convenient for a one-night stay. Be advised there are NO elevators. I had a room on first floor, east side. There's a grassy area in front, so it's extra quiet, but a bit more of a schlep to bring your bags in from the car. Room was quiet, clean, adequate. Continental breakfast was VERY good-fresh strawberries for my cereal, yum. A good value.

Upon arrival we walked into the room and experienced a VERY overwhelming strong odor of perhaps air freshener. The bathroom sink did not drain. We had to manually remove the stopper which was blackened with debris on the bottom part. The towels were still damp from the laundry, making it difficult to dry off after our showers. I also had to go searching for more toilet tissue while my husband was in the bathroom. We usually stay at BW during our travels to and from Florida, but will avoid the BW in Lexington, VA

Room smelled awful and had a non digital TV with fuzzy reception. Worst of all, we found that the maid left the door on our room OPEN—not unlocked but OPEN, upon coming back to the room at 530pm. I don't like hotels that do not have an enclosed area, and this hotel doesn't feel safe. I'd stay elsewhere.

Asked for non-smoking, got that, but someone had smoked in the room. Switched rooms but the front staff still put us in a smoking room. My husband has asthma, so you know that is not going to work!!!! So not worth the $212.00 we paid for the room. DON'T STAY EVEN IF IT IS CONVENIENT!!!!!

They have remodeled the lobby areas and the rooms since I stayed here last year. The staff is very professional and helpful. I felt safe and was satisfied with my stay. I will stay here again! Check it out for you and your family!

I made reservations for my VMI 45th reunion last March. The gentleman taking the call was professional, helpful, and considerate. We arrived on time. The hotel is in a good location; reasonable access to Lexington, US 11, fuel, and a simple restaurant next door. Check in by Front Desk Leader Sharon was prompt, of the pink of courtesy, and welcoming. Our room was easily accessible (note second story rooms.. no elevator) impeccably clean and provisioned.. The room was quite comfortable, housekeeping dependable. Everyone on the staff works hard from the folks doing the morning breakfast to the folks handling the cleaning. Sleep was comfortable. The hotel is dated; reminds me of something from the 60's. The stoop is right outside your room, noise was not a difficulty yet anyone walking by was noticeable. Items I see needing upgrading; plumbing, air conditioning. They worked but are depreciated. Again, the hotel is quite clean, just aged. Brickbat; value. I know it was reunion/football/event weekend. I studied supply and demand curves in Scott Shipp Hall for three years (okay, I did receive one D) and the price creeps towards a little high We enjoyed our four day stay in Rockbridge County. The staff at Lexington Best Western do a great job.

We always enjoy coming here for the convenience of getting out doors fishing and enjoying the nice area without the chaos of city life. We return here because we are considering a relocation to the area and everybody is always so friendly

If you want a relatively clean stop overnight off the interstate with a reasonable breakfast - then this is a good place to stop. The hotel was clean and friendly. Rooms and bathrooms were well cleaned - uneventful really.

Clean room, okay breakfast, walk to Applebes, good bed, Quiet room away from highway (AC a bit noisy). Large TV, close to "walking" trail, Could have larger outside sitting area had only 3 tables.. Allows pets

The hotel was clean and friendly. Rooms and bathrooms were well cleaned and stocked. Okay, the breakfast, was awesome. We were 5 people all with different tastes. There was an abundance of choices. Food was fresh and buffet and dining room clean. I am picky. . .my friend is very picky. No complaints at all. We used the pool and the elevator and the wifi. Will stay there EVERY time I go back to the Safari Zoo. And will gladly recommend this hotel to all my friends.

For us, this was just a relatively quick overnight stop on the way from Cincinnati to Virginia Beach. Uneventful really. Location on and off the highway was big factor in choosing this property. The staff was very accommodating (no pun intended).

My wife and I were very happy with our stay at this motor hotel. The cleanliness and quality of the facility, the breakfast items and the price we paid all contributed to a very nice experience. They brought the "BEST" of our comments.

We often stay at this type of hotel when on the road. Have stayed at most of the chains of this type. When we arrived last evening, I immediately thought "We should stick to Best Westerns" The room was immaculate, extremely comfortable and nicely decorated. And, what a nice feature, a night light in the bathroom!!! Why hasn't anyone thought of this before. I've been bringing a small night light with my on trips because if you wake up in the middle of the night, it would be very easy to trip over something if the room is very dark, especially if you have your pet with you, and yes. Best Western is pet friendly. The only small negative was the desk clerk when we checked in. We asked about a recommendation for dinner. She strongly suggested we stay nearby, Ruby Tuesday's, Applebees, a country restetant across the street. I asked about anything in town, she said oh there are o my fast good places there, we shouldn't bother. We found the "in town" to be charming, historic, with many lovely restaurants. We didn't see all the fast food places she referred to. But that's such a small thing, it shouldn't stop anyone from choosing Best Western Lexington Inn.

I had a quiet Sunday evening stay in a first floor room. Staff are friendly and even called the room to make sure everything was okay after I checked in. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. The breakfast area is nice with a solid selection of continental items, eggs, and waffles. I could've lived without Fox News being a little too loud on the breakfast room TV on a Monday morning, but I realize that's a personal preference, and other than that, the breakfast was fine. Maybe there just weren't a lot of people there that night or I was super tired, but I didn't hear any noise outside or from adjoining rooms. There doesn't seem to be an Auto feature on the fan/AC/heater, so the fan ran all night, which probably helped drown out some sound.

Stopped for one night on my travels. The room was large and laid out well. Bed to me was soft but the carpet didn't feel real clean however the rest of the room was. The room entrance is on the outside which makes me a little nervous now a days. For one night is was ok

We almost cancelled because we do not like hotels where the door opens directly to the outside as they are generally noisy. So glad we stayed. The room looked new, super clean and the bed and bedding was comfortable. We heard no noise from the outside or other rooms. Great breakfast and friendly staff.

The Best Western is a standard roadside motel, with a convenient location near the interstate exit and easy parking outside the ground floor rooms. The motel is in a highway "miracle mile" area, near a gas station, chain restaurants, and other motels. The location is fairly quiet, and is about a two-mile drive from central Lexington, including both the VMI and Washington and Lee campuses. There isn't much of interest within walking distance of the motel itself, so choose a place closer to the town center if you want to walk to restaurants and the campuses. The Best Western seems relatively new, and is well maintained. I didn't like the bathroom layout, as the sink is open to sleeping area, and it's not possible to use it without disturbing others in the room. Other than that, the room was fine. Breakfast was good, and staff members were accommodating and helpful.

This hotel is right off Interstate 81 and we stopped for the night after a long drive. The place appears to have been recently refurbished; it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the towels plush. So if you need a place for one night or are traveling with small children I would recommend as it also provides a basic complementary breakfast. Most hotels in the Lexington area will be a bit more, so if you just need a clean comfortable room, this will fit the bill. Even though the doors open to the outside, vice a lobby, I did not find noise a problem.

We were traveling with our two kids and our dog for a family wedding. Stayed here two nights. Great location, close to everything. Welcoming to us and the dog. Would definitely recommend and would stay again next time we are in the area.

This was the best continental breakfast ever that we've had,and for finding us a room at the last minute. would stay there again if had to. very nice and courtesy staff from check in to check out. good price

Very small beds. Luckily there were two so we got his and hers. We were only there to sleep and the beds and pillows were comfortable. AC was a little noisy for my wife. Refrigerator froze everything in it. Not the worst thing. Bathroom was good.

I did a spur of the moment trip to Lexington to visit the cemetery and pay respects to family. Stayed at this BW as it is my favorite chain. Always dependable. Front desk help was superb. Breakfast was OK.

Spent the night there on a Saturday night after attending a Beach Music Festival in Buena Vista, Va. Staff very courteous. My room was very clean , comfortable and quiet. Had breakfast the next morning. The breakfast was better than what one normally expects with a breakfast included motel. I will definitely stay there again!!

Family vacation was a nice experience to get to a hotel and be greeted by a nice helpful staff after a long drive. rooms were clean and breakfast was good. The check out process was fast and easy. internet was fast and I had no troubles using it.

Large king room. Had connecting rooms on 2 sides if needed. Recently remodeled. Clean, nice décor. Thick towels. Fridge & microwave were in the cabinets. Breakfast had variety of choices. Great rates for rooms. Highly recommend.

We had been on the road over 14 hours and just ready to stop. Picked up one of the hotel booklets while at one of the rest areas and started calling. Great deal and super clean hotel. Breakfast was very well stocked and a good variety. Plus side is we were hungry and while checking in they informed us the Applebees next door offered a discount if you showed your room key which was perfect, finished up checking in and went right over for dinner. Great service at both the hotel and restaurant.

I was traveling solo back from the Blue Ridge and decided to take 11 north home. I stopped here for the night and was really glad I did. This Motel was made for bikers. It was clean, came with breakfast which was tasty and free wifi so I could get some work done from the road. Everyone was really nice, I was able to park my bike in front of my room which is a huge plus. The location was perfect. There was an Applebee's and a gas station convenience store, right next door. I checked in, cleaned up, walked to dinner. Popped in the convenience store for supplies and had a great night sleep. My room was clean, my bed cozy and I felt really safe, which is important for a female traveling Solo. I will definitely make this one of my stops again. It was made for bikers. Plus they give a substantial discount for HOG members. Well done folks! Not what I expected from a Best Western keep up the good work.

We have stayed here once before on a trip last year; it was good enough then and still good enough now. Was not happy that I had to wait around to check in while the desk clerk fielded phone calls but mostly everything else met our repeat expectations. The room was well-cleaned and quiet except for air-flow noise at the door to the outside that was bothersome. In the bathroom there is a vent that sucks air in continually pulling it from the outside which made a whooshing sound. That was annoying and also disturbing for sleeping unless we ran the air conditioner. But the air conditioner ran smoothly and quietly at least. The little refrigerator ran quietly too which we don't always find to be the case at other hotels. The shower was ok, not fantastic water pressure but not bad either. Beds were comfortable but the pillows were terribly lumpy! And there was no choice in firmness to choose from--they were all the same firmness/lumpiness. We enjoyed the breakfast room and the array of hot and cold foods was sufficient. Especially impressed with the fresh berries each morning! The lobby is warm and inviting with a nice staircase up to the second floor within. Most of the people at the front desk seemed friendly. If we come back to Lexington we will probably stay here again. Lexington is a great little town with lots around to see and do. See the downtown! Very historical. And this location is a good launching point to get to the Natural Tunnel and also the Blue Ridge Parkway in reasonable driving times.

Great place to stay. Convenient to restaurants and convenience store. Comfortable beds and pillows. Ample parking for large vehicles. This location was very close to our job site. At the end of our test we had plenty of space to park our rig.

My wife & I travel by motorcycle and have high standards for overnights. This is a very nice hotel. I would stay here again. They went out of their way to give us a convent room. The breakfast room is beautiful and is like dinning in a gazebo. My wife was happy & thats why I am happy. Stay here.

We stayed two nights. We also brought our dog. The room was in good shape, bathroom was clean. Beds were comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was decent overall and included scrambled eggs and sausage. I would stay here again.

Stopped here on our way to Williamsburg and this place definitely filled our needs. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. She helped us with our rewards application in a timely manner. The breakfast was standard fare and fresh. The only complaints I have are the toilet which ran for a long time after and the air was not all that cool. But, all in all, it was a very nice and quiet stay.

This property manages to provide the perception of separation from adjacent businesses. While it's a motel with exterior corridors, the landscaped green space and charming white fencing between the corridors and parking lot is very attractive. When exiting one's room guests are greeted by well maintained lawn and flowers instead of asphalt and cars. I found my room to be clean and nicely decorated. Although it was pet-friendly, the carpet seemed new and there was no hint that other guests had pets stay with them. The bed and pillow were comfortable and I slept well. No problems at all with the A/C. There was a fridge, microwave, TV, hair dryer, and coffee-maker. And, the room was equipped with easily accessible outlets for my electronics. WiFi was perfectly adequate. The sink was outside the tub/commode. There were plenty of towels that were of reasonable quality, not thin and rough, and lots of storage space in the vanity. There were also built-ins in the shower for soap, shampoo, and razors. The motel shares a parking lot with Applebee's and a gas station/convenience store, but I found the parking ample. My room faced those businesses, but I was never disturbed by noise or lights. The motel is located only five minutes from historic Lexington and the Virginia Military Institute. I didn't use the fitness room, business area, or have breakfast so I cannot comment on those amenities. I would absolutely stay here again when I'm in Lexington. It was a very good value for the price.

Very nice room, quiet and back off the highway. Dogs are loving the plush grass (it is everywhere!). Between Applebees, DQ, and Subway, you will find something worthwhile to eat. Great freee wifi in room!

We have been here twice, once during a horse show and once just for leisure. Both stays we had good service. The rooms were very unto date and clean.The bed was very comfortable and clean. the hotel entrance was very modern and pleasing. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fresh and yummy. Eggs and sausage were hot and didn't seem like leftovers. The bananas were just right for us.

Our room smelled like it used to be a smokers room. Otherwise it seemed clean. Breakfast was below average with weak coffee. Staff was helpful and it was close to downtown Lexington, so it was sufficient.

The room was fine and clean, but we were shocked to discover we'd been assigned an "accessible" room...you know, the kind with hand held shower head, fold out bench to sit on, wide doorways. It was OK after we figured out how to use stuff, but the bed in this spacious room (spacious for wheelchairs, I reckon) was a double, not even a queen size. BUT, I just checked my husband's booking and this IS what he booked! Perhaps it was the only available booking when he made the reservation March 25. Anyway, we found a double a little cozy for the two of us and we're "regular" size, lol. Breakfast was kind of lacking in choices and I've never liked those little fold over "omelets" with cheese in the middle. Prefer regular scrambled eggs, please. Still, it was convenient and walking distance to a restaurant. And a good preview of when we DO need "accessible" amenities!

The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially Sharon. We were in town for a show at the Horse Center, had a problem with the room at our first hotel and Sharon worked us in at this hotel. She was extremely accommodating and willing to help out in what could have been a bad situation. Old hotel but clean, quiet and comfortable! We will definitely stay here again next year!

Two years ago we stayed at this BW and had a not so good stay. A refrigeration truck was parked outside our room and the compressor came on and off all night. I reviewed it on the BW site and received an email from the manager offering 50% off our next stay. Two years later we showed up and they honored the 50% off. Way to go Lexington BW l

Despite the fact that this hotel has not been recently updated and has outdoor corridors, it was clean and felt safe. Very comfortable bed! Another guest's dog barked for hours in the morning and the manager, Sharon, was apologetic and took money off of our bill.

Stayed 1 night Tuesday into Wednesday. Easy on/off to interstate. Never stayed at a BW before. Rooms were clean with adequate space. Room faced out to the parking lot. 2nd floor, could not hear any noise from the outside. A/C worked. Wi-Fi was great compared to many of the hotels I have stayed at. Breakfast was ok. Did have to climb 1 flight of stairs to get to room. Right next to an Applebee's but not much else in immediate walking distance. Adjacent Holiday Inn Plus hotel was $50 more per night. Very satisfied I stayed at Best Western and would definitely return

Nothing wrong with this hotel, but nothing great, either. The breakfast was late, and the choices were limited compared with other Best Westerns. The rooms are clean and comfortable but are showing some age.

Stayed here two nights while visiting Washington and Lee University which is very close by. Room was clean and quiet, I slept well. Breakfast had quite a few choices and was refilled clear up until it ended at 9:30am. Wi-Fi was strong enough to stream movies. Stay was great! Also, my daughter loved the fitness room!

The biggest drawback (or benefit depending on your perspective) is that this is a smoking hotel. If you are a smoker, this is the hotel for you. If you are not a smoker and you don't like the smell of smoke, be warned. Also, WARNING, if you book through Best Western's website, you could be placed in a smoking room regardless of whether or not you request one. This happened to me. Fortunately, the hotel staff called me the morning of my stay to ask if this was my intention. The switched me to a non-smoking room, but there is still a stale smoke smell in the air. I'm not sure if this is coming from neighboring rooms or what. Another thing to consider (again, drawback or benefit depending on your perspective) is that if you are on the first floor, parking is immediately outside of your door. Convenient for unpacking, but I can hear car alarms when people lock their cars. Maybe this would be less of an issue for a second floor room. So that is just a few things to be aware of if you are looking for hotels in the Lexington area. There are a lot to choose from in the immediate vicinity. As a nonsmoker who dislikes the smell of smoke, I would not chose this one again. In fact this whole review is in honor of my friends and family who either 1) love to smoke or 2) who passionately hate the smell of smoke. If I were here with my "passionately hate the smell of smoke" best friend or husband, there would be an uproar over the smoke smell in this room. If all the non-smoking rooms are like the one I'm in now, we would need to find another hotel. My sister, brother-in-law, and cousin on the other hand, would be right at home here. Smoking hotels are getting harder and harder to find.

Everything was clean, in working order and comfortable. I wish hotels in general would place chairs at desks that were at a good working height - almost always far too low. The rewards program has given me incentive to use this chain of hotels more often.

Super clean. Nice staff. Breakfast waffles, eggs, sausage, a variety of breads & pastries. Exercise room is nice. Applebee's right across the parking lot. It's a walkout so very convenient to parking. Only down side is there's no pool & the televisions aren't so great.

We had been driving all day and needed somewhere to stay. We went in the guy at the front desk was nasty and said in a rude tone $100 second floor. They have no elevator so any heavy luggage has to be carried. It wasn't that clean either. We walked out and went to a different hotel. This best western had a motel 6 feel to it.

Room was clean and breakfasts were good. Mattresses not of top quality but we slept ok, We didn't get maid service the first night, but that was fixed the next day after we asked. Neighborhood was nice and grounds were kept up.

Location is right off 81, next to restaurants and gas. Rooms are clean and included breakfast had a good number of options. Motorcycle friendly- has spot for washing bikes. Definitely I'll keep this one on my list for future travels

I have stayed here many times and have written reviews on it before. Nothing has changed. Good quality, clean rooms, great value and excellent hotel staff. Sharing the same parking lot with an Applebee's restaurant, Dairy Queen fast food, gas station with mini-market. If you prefer Holiday Inn to Best Western, there is one next door. I haven't stayed there as I like the BW.

We've started using this motel whenever we visit my MIL, several times a year. The location is great and the rooms are always clean and quiet. It is pet-friendly too. The AAA discount makes it a bargain for the area. The breakfast is freshly made and you have more than enough to choose from; eggs, waffles, fresh fruit, cereal, toast, oatmeal. The linens are soft and clean. The cleaning staff is friendly. Those behind the desk are accommodating. Have a nice stay!

Stay was very good. Room was clean and had everything I needed. Staff was friendly and courteous and had a good selection for breakfast. Only thing was the water pressure in the shower was not very strong, but overall I would stay here again.

I called the day before arrival and ask for the room to be treated since the only remaining room was considered a smoking room. I was assured it would be taken care of. When we arrived nothing had been done. It all made sense the next day when our room was being cleaned and the maid was standing outside with the door open, smoking a cigarette. The carpet is stained and the bed covers are well worn. This is by far the worst Best Western I've stayed in. Unfortunately it is a toss up with Best Western. No consistency! Would not recommend!

I come here whenever I want to stay overnight in Lexington (except when there's a home football game on a weekend). The rooms are what they ought to be (hot water, horizontal beds, working shower), there're frequently coupon specials, downtown is just down the road, and Applebee's is next door.

This hotel is fine if you are on a budget, and don't mind staying in an older partially renovated motel or if other limited service hotels in the area (BW plus, Wyngate, Holiday Inn Express, Country Inn or Hampton Inn) are booked. It is well located, but understaffed. I stayed here on consecutive weekends (room 219 on 11/5 and 129 on 11/12) for events at W&L, and found the check-in process to be slow and clumsy each time. A single desk clerk,did the best he could to answer questions from guests, answer the phone, direct cleaning people and check in new guests. The rooms are clean with new case goods and lamps, but the owner stopped just short of completing the renovation; leaving the old wallpaper on 3 walls and window treatments (which hold a smoke odor from years past). Lighting in the bathrooms is poor if that is important to you. The rooms are equipped with large flat panel tv's, however, reception is poor, and HD reception is not available. Not great for watching ballgames.

This is a very nice clean and comfortable motel. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a great selection of items including fresh fruit. There is also a good Applebees Restaurant right next door walking distance which was very convenient.

This is a typical "motor hotel" Well located near, but not within walking distance, both campuses and in the same parking lot with Applebee's. Rooms are clean. Staff is courteous. Breakfast is typical of what you would expect of a limited service motel. While I would not classify it as a great value, it is brobably as good for te money and one can expect just outside of Lexington.

While the property seems to be converted from the very early Hampton Inn model, it is in very nice condition and staffed by pleasant front desk staff. It' s nice to find a well-maintained, comfortable and reasonably priced motel that you can park next to or near your room. It's worth the stop if you're not looking for a newly built facility with the latest appointments.

This hotel was very reasonable and we were satisfied with it. The front desk put us o n the first floor after assigning us to a room on the second. My wife is handicapped. We were very pleased about that.

We stayed here on our way up I-81. It was convenient and allows dogs. There were good places to walk our dog. The breakfast was okay. The room was roomy and clean. The only issue we had was that our GPS did not take us there - for some reason it took us several miles further and we had to turn around and look for it.

It was late and decided to stop at a Best Western for the night. It seems back east the hotel chain is certainly not up to the usual standards. I inadvertently booked one double bed instead of two double beds. The hotel was very booked, but Gary and Jude went out of there way to get me a room with two beds. I can't thank them enough! The breakfast was good and all the hotel staff from cleaning to the front desk were helpful and polite!

There was so much noise in the parking lot throughout the night. People talking loudly, car alarms going off. I never did get to sleep. The desk clerk was completely uninterested I would stop just shy of calling him rude.

Outdated decor and some handiwork that needs to be done to spruce up place for the price we had to pay for one night. I would say its more of a low 100 dollar price range, rather than upper 100s like we paid. However, I should note all the hotels in the area were going for that. Breakfast was pretty good and I appreciate that!

Clean, comfortable, for a reasonable price. Rooms were good size. We had one with two double beds with 3 people staying and we had enough room. This hotel has entry into the rooms from the outside. You forget how easy it is to unload a car with these types of rooms now that most hotels don't have them.

We recently stayed at this hotel in Lexington. Room had outdoor entry, room size was good, and it was clean. Parking was convenient and free. Service at the front desk was efficient. Hot and cold free breakfast good (typical Best Western fare). We experienced no significant issues here.

This hotel suited our needs and it was really clean and tidy. The air con was a little noisy when it cut in during the night but apart from that the room suited us. The Applebee's Grill and Bar next door was a great place for a meal and the staff at both the hotel and restaurant were friendly. I would recommend this hotel for travelers.

The hotel was ok except the air unit was very dirty and so my allergies were bad. Other than that, the room was clean and the staff friendly. Not real happy with all the Trump signs and confederate flags all over the city so would not recommend this location to anyone who this might offend. We did not visit any business with a Trump sign out front.

Best Western is a good choice for reasonable predictable stays.A good value and I have no complaints. Even the TV remote is disinfected and there was a nice note from the housekeeping staff. I stay at BW fairly regularly

This hotel is a good no frills place to stay. The staff is kind and helpful and the breakfast is really good. If you want a decent place to stay without paying an arm and a leg, this is the place. The only negative I had was there was a lot of long dark hair left on the bathroom floor. I am hoping it was the maids and not the person that stayed in the room before us.

The room was comfortable and quiet. Another stay was not quiet as the guest were congregating on the balconies at a later hour. Second floor noise is sometimes an issue for the first floor. i have far to drive so I need to be rested. I have stayed at this hotel several times. Most stays were good. The location from the highway is very convenient and the breakfast selection is excellent. The indoor pool is a plus. I noticed improvements in the rooms. The staff is very nice.

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and everything worked. This is an excellent choice when on a budget and the frills don't matter to you. Places to eat and I64 exit nearby. Breakfast met expectations. Only a minute or two to VMI and downtown Lexington.

The hotel is nice, hot breakfast was good, but the double beds need replacing. They are curved in the middle, so a couple rolls to the center. Will make sure we get a queen bed in the future. Also the refrigerator froze all my food and beverages in it. Good location in town. Reasonable price and staff very nice. Had to carry luggage to the second floor as there was no elevator.

Great place to stay for an overnight with a family. Office staff was very friendly and accommodating. Beds were comfortable, our room was clean, and the AC worked well. To top if off they had a wonderful complimentary breakfast, great variety of hot and cold options. We will definitely stay again when passing through the area.

The front desk clerk was very friendly and the exterior of the hotel was nice and clean . Having stayed in many BW places in the past, I was slightly disappointed this time with my room (#109). The carpets were worn and several areas were replaced with pieces of cutout carpets. The only problem with this is the edges of the cutouts were frayed and curling up which could cause someone to trip. The carpet by the doorway had a watermark stain as if a hard rain came into the room. There were no pictures on the walls which seemed odd for a hotel nor a microwave or small refrigerator. The bathroom was clean and the towels were extremely large and soft. We arrived late, were very tired and since we were leaving early the next morning it seemed useless to complain.

we had a nice room with the fluffiest towels i have had in a hotel EVER !! firm beds but clean and so too was the bathroom. Lovely breakfast with several choices of FRESH fruit!! Applebees next door gave hotel 10% discount. my only complaint was the noise early morning of big trucks starting up, and moving out ! would definitely stay here again, for the lovely towels !!!

We were so pleased when we arrived at the Best Western Lexington Inn. We were given a room with a grassy area directly in front. The other guests were pleasant and friendly, and PICKED UP THEIR DOG'S POOP! The room was easily puppy proofed (14 week old Labrador), was clean, with a comfortable bed, and quiet throughout the night. An Applebees is across the parking lot, so we had a decent take-out dinner, with the choice of eating in-room or at the picnic tables just outside our door. We didn't feel like we could leave the puppy alone in the room (he might bark), so this was a Godsend. Also the hotel breakfast is perfectly adequate. I will go back there.

Where to begin... check-in was great, the person at the front desk was friendly. The hotel is two story, free Wifi and breakfast (6 am - 9:30 am), located next to Applebee's and a gas station. Only about 15 minutes to Natural Bridge and the Safari. First room assigned to us #207 upstairs (no elevator by the way), the CO2 detector was going off. Room 2; #121 downstairs, smelled of mold and mildew (1st pic of mold in A/C unit after we came back from dinner). We thought ok maybe because the room was locked up and the air was not on. We turned the air on and walked next door to Applebee's for dinner. When we came back about an hour later the smell was to unbearable we had to switch rooms again for the third time. The lady at the front desk was very apologetic and said their hotel was being renovated and gave us two choices; full refund or third room. Because it was late we choose the third room, #112 downstairs. Finally a decent room and no odor of mold and mildew and no CO2 detector going off. Only issue with third room, the beds are kind of hard.

We stayed at this pet-friendly hotel for 3 nights, with 3 dogs. Staff was helpful and attentive, hotel and grounds were clean and well-kept. Breakfasts were excellent, lots of choices, very good food. Beds were comfortable, housekeeping staff was great. Highly recommend this hotel, especially if traveling with pets.

Acceptable clean, comfortable room, hotel lobby and grounds in general is tired.. needs remodel. Watch if you book far in advance, as a low listed rate may change dramatically if there's a college or special event going on.

Property was easy to find and maneuver from the highway. Reception was smooth. Building is easy to navigate and all areas were neat and clean. Our room was located on the first floor and had direct outdoor access. There was plenty of yard to exercise the dog. We were able to walk around the entire building and even paved areas were well landscaped with trees and mulch. Initially I was concerned about being on the restaurant side of the building but with the large open yard it was comfortably quiet and there was plenty of parking spots. Slept well in the King bed and there was plenty of room to move around.

This was our second stay at the Best Western Lexington Inn. The rooms are in need of some care. The tubs could use some new caulk, the wooden furniture could stand to be replaced. However, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable for a decent price. We didn't go down for breakfast this time around, but it was good in the past. Internet service works just fine, but the reception on the tv was not so great. The staff is very friendly, and we had a very pleasant exchange with housekeeping as we departed. The hotel is in the same parking lot as an Applebee's, a Dairy Queen, a gas station with convenience store and a Holiday Inn and close to I-64 and I-81. I would stay here again in the future, but newer hotels in the area could draw me away if the price is right.

Stopped here on our way to South Carolina South so we didn't get to see the area but we had a pleasant stay at the Lexington. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning was nice and cold like my husband prefers!

Stayed at Best Western during vacation trip. Had problem with room checking in, reserved king bed and assigned double bed, soon remedied. Room was clean and well maintained. Loud conversation outside and smoke coming through th ac unit along with swearing accompanying commercial vehicles distracting, but it was a comfortable night

Perfect stop off hotel while travelling. Super quiet, clean, looked newly remodeled. We checked in late, our room was ready and waiting and clerk had us processed in under 2 minutes. Its less than 10 minutes to the Virginia Safari Park, which made it convenient to achieve quickly and continue or daily drive to the next location.

We read a few reviews before booking, and thought for the price that it would be a nice stay. Upon arrival, we noticed the cable literally ripped out of the wall, the TV remote control did not work, and there was hair and what looked like food on the sheets. Maintenance was quick to come to our room to fix the cable but he could not figure out how to fix the remote control and left us with the remote that did not work. The room was your average, outdated "cheap stay." The breakfast was average and the kids were happy with the waffle maker. We will not be staying at this Best Western again. It is over priced.

We stayed here two nights. Aside from the dog smell the first night in the room we enjoyed our stay well enough. Check in went smoothly but there is no elevator so we had to lug our things up the stairs to the second floor. All of the bed pillows were lumpy. It's good that you could tell they wash them at least but would be more comfortable without the lumps! In the morning you can find a complimentary USA Today at the front desk. The lobby is beautiful with a fireplace and seating and the breakfast area is attractive and comfortable also. It was quiet at night for sleeping. We are planning another trip up that way to see The Natural Bridge sometime and would likely stay here again depending on future reviews and pricing at that time.

Exceptionally clean rooms, with very friendly and helpful staff. Had to make a number of reservations and then a number of changes, about which they were very patient. Saw the word "modest" in referring to the hotel on Trip Advisor, which does not do justice to the overall good quality of our stay.

it was very easy to make reservations, The staff was friendly and competent at their tasks. We had a comfortable and quiet room with a comfortable bed. The morning breakfast bar had a good selection of food.

This hotel was average. Upon checkin we kept hearing a noise and realized the toilet was running. We got in after midnight so we just went right to sleep. We had to sleep with the bathroom door closed due to the noise. The next day I was looking for extra shampoo in the cabinet under the sink and there was an open bag of potato chips under there. I went to the front desk and told them about the toilet running and the potato chips. We came back after a long day and the toilet was still running and the chips were still there. I threw them in the trash. I noticed that they never brought another bottle of shampoo in so I had to call the front desk to get more. They said I had to go to the desk to get it myself. So I had to get dressed so I could get the shampoo. The next day after we got back after a long day out we saw that our room was never done. Our wet towels on the floor and beds unmade. The toilet ran the entire time also. Disappointed in this place

We stayed for one night recently. The room was clean, service was pleasant, and we were particularly impressed with the breakfast. This included hot buffet with good scrambled eggs, sliced fruit for your cereal, and various pastry/breads. The bed was a bit soft for me, but that's a minor quibble. All for a very inexpensive rate of around $125. We recommend it and would definitely choose it next time.

Prompt staff, clean rooms, free internet and great breakfast. I would definitely stay here again. They were very accommodating of our cat who is a beloved pet. It was easily found and parking was just outside the room.

we found the hotel to be quiet, handy to other facilities, the only thing we did not like was the choice of tv channels..NOT enough choices. Also the high speed internet did not allow me to have access.

Upon going to breakfast on the morning of our leaving, I noticed that on the Male and Female bathrooms new signage of Male/Female were posted on both doors. If I had known that BW was going to jump on the bandwagon trying to force this down my throat I would not have scheduled my stay there. I am urging all to boycott this chain until they back off of this.

Stayed here on a quick trip from PA to SC. The room was comfortable and clean. It was, by far, the quietest motel room I've ever stayed in!!! We make this trip regularly - I'd definitely look to stay here again. Breakfast (included) had nice options, but the breakfast room was too small for the size of the hotel.

Friends and I were riding to Washington, DC, for Rolling Thunder and met up with 3 other friends. It was almost dark. Check-in was easy. The rooms were clean and I suppose the chain is now putting little rubber duckies out with a cute little saying that wants you to take it on your travels and take pictures with it. Nice touch. I'm going to give mine to my great-nephew for his bath time. Otherwise, I didn't get to explore much because we left pretty early the next morning. The bed was comfy. They had breakfast included, which was good. This was a good "stop-off" motel. There was an issue with sewer smell outside, though. I don't know if it was this motel's, Applebee's (which was right across the parking lot), or the other motel which sits directly behind this one's sewer issue. But, if the wind blew while we were sitting out on the walkway and chatting, it was VERY noticeable.

Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, comfort of the room, good breakfast items to select from. Room rate discounted due to a coupon which made the rate more reasonable for an overnight stay but still too expensive for a night's stay.

Rooms are smaller than those in larger hotels and your room opens to the outside with a covered walkway, but the room is very clean and the bed is very comfortable. Also it is nice to be able to sit right outside your room, weather permitting. Breakfast is fine with the usual standard breakfast fare and the location is very close to Lexington center, W&L and VMI. All in all it is an excellent value for the price

The facility sports 2 floors but beware if you have problems with stairs as there is no elevator. The room was clean and adequate. It was a Saturday night and although it appeared to be booked, there was no noise. Applebee's is immediately next door - no road to cross - but I did not dine there so I cannot attest to its condition. The price was a good value. The tv channel reception seemed somewhat limited. The outside of the facility has several small intimate patio areas with umbrella tables. In warmer weather this could be very attractive and desirable or it could be noisy. All in all we would stay again.

I wanted a quiet, inexpensive place to spend several nights while I was doing research at Washington & Lee, and this place was just what I wanted. The rooms are not new by any means, but they were clean, comfortable, and quiet. The WiFi worked great, and as with every Best Western I've stayed at, the breakfast was very good. (I don't like sweets or starch for breakfast. Best Western provides eggs and sausage or bacon.) The only minor drawbacks for me were that there was no desk to work at and, as is the case at virtually all hotels nowadays, there was no ventilation. The windows would not open and the air conditioner had no option to bring fresh air in from outdoors. I had to leave my door open to get fresh air, and I noticed several other guests were doing the same. Fortunately it was quiet outside and there was very little foot traffic on the hotel walkway, so I could leave the door open.

I was apparently fortunate to obtain a reservation about six hours before I arrived. The hotel was situated in an area designed to be close to a major Interstate, I-81. The hotel did not appear to be crowded, although this was a "graduation" week-end. I was pleased that the room was furnished with both a microwave and a small refrigerator; I used both appliances. I was also pleased by the quality of the complimentary breakfast, since sometimes the quality of this amenity drops on week-end mornings.

We had a very weird experience at this hotel. on the positive side- the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. Here were the problems- I had booked the rooms a whole year in advance to insure that my mother, who has mobility issues, would be comfortable. My parents were given a "handicapped" room with a double bed so small, they both couldn't lay down on it. there was also an armchair that was so hard, they couldn't sit on it for very long. Our rooms were not conjoining with theirs, but up one floor and down the hall (remember, I booked a year in advance to make sure of the set- up.) We ended up having to ask for a cot in order for them to get any sleep! I think that there was a rate hike sometime after I booked the rooms, so we were given the less desirable ones, since I booked at a cheaper rate. Like I said- clean, nice staff; but I felt gypped with the arrangement we ended up with!

Check-in was fine, so was check-out. However, the fact that pets are allowed in all rooms was disconcerting. Why do they not assign so many for pets and ensure other rooms are completely pet hair and dander free? This was the best choice in the area with many hotels looking very run down so we did not have much choice, take it or drive another 50 miles late at night. The complimentary breakfast was adequate. Just disappointed that while we had the choice of a non-smoking room, we could not choose for it to be pet free. We will only use Best Western again if in the same situation. Their hotels are adequate but we do not appreciate the pet policy. For this reason it gets a poor rating.

Very pleasant stay. Conveniently located with a restaurant next door and courteous staff. It was referred to me by Trivago, however at check-in the reservationist was able to save me additional monies by signing me up with rewards program.

I ended up crashing here halfway home on a drive from Nashville to Hartford. I usually avoid exterior entrance motels because of security, rodent, and bug issues. This one was a pleasant surprise. The exterior grounds were meticulously maintained to golf course standards. The room was a little dated but very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The guy at the front desk was a little cranky, but I suppose if I had to work at 1:00 in the morning I wouldn't be super happy either. Not a bad place to stay.

This hotel was clearly renovated in the recent past and is attractive, clean and quiet. For the non- pet friendly travelers out there, notice that I said clean and quiet. I heard nothing from the other dogs staying here, and the hotel looks clean throughout. With a sizable number of term guests working in various construction/utility jobs, and an adjacent Applebees, I expected at least a little noise, but none was heard. The staff was courteous and professional.

Although we always stay at Best Western hotels when available, this one was no where near the usual standards of Best Western. When we checked in I asked for a room on the first floor with an outside door and was told that the hotel had no such rooms. He gave us a room on the second floor but there was no elevator to take our luggage up. The hallways were filthy and our room smelled. Checking out the next day the same clerk was on duty so I asked him why he told me there were no rooms with outside doors, when clearly, there were. Not only did he not answer my question, he didn't speak! It was the strangest experience I have ever had at a Best Western. Needless to say, we will never stay here again and certainly would no recommend this hotel.

Front desk staff was not caring that Housekeeping 'missed many rooms' that day and they had run out of replacement towels. Bed was not comfortable & A/C very noisy. Walls very thin and could hear conversations from room next door. Many other better options available in that area. Only redeeming value is the Applebees next door.

Our group had two rooms for our weekend visit to Lexington. We want to recognize our housekeeper Mary. She was super courteous and made sure we had everything we needed, even when we hadn't quite made it out of the rooms yet. Convenient location for reunion events.

the hotel was very economical and gave us everything we needed. the surrounding landscape was inviting and the amenities lived up to the best western name. it was located in a spot very accessible to restaurants and highways.

We did not like the pillows and the bed.Both were to soft.No support for our bad backs.Our second day there they brought in clean towels,but did not clean the room or fix the beds. A strong smell of cigarette smoke kept coming in our NON smoking room.And you could see daylight around the bottom of the door and feel very cold air also.

This hotel was excellent value for money. The location was close to necessary amenities required for my trip. Staff was helpful, room was clean and spacious. I would definitely stay at the hotel again.

Even my husband hated the room! To start the experience I was hit with an unpleasant musty/deodarizor odor when I entered the door. There was a hair in the sink and the tub. The decor was dated. I was deceived by the full smiling face for the rating on a travel web site.

This hotel is in need of up-dating. It is motel style rooms that were clean but showing signs of wear and tear. However, bedding (matress) was exceptional and allowed for a good night rest. Well situated near access to major highways.

This hotel was perfect in every way. Clean, reasonably priced, and right off the Interstate. We loved that it was next door to Applebees, and you could walk right over for dinner or a late night snack. We will be back again!

We stay at this Best Western in Lexington, Va whenever we travel this route from Northern NY to North Carolina, weather and room available pertaining. Normally we travel through this area three or four times per year.

Very comfortable rooms and excellent service. Make sure to ask for dining recommendations based on local venues and not just the chains there (such as the Applebees in the parking lot - who wants to travel somewhere and go to a place like that?) The staff seems well informed on local fair and can direct you to downtown where you will find lots of excellent local food, shops and other interesting places to visit. Downtown Lexington is well worth the very short drive. (Maybe a mile or two only)

Had to check out of a competitors hotel a day early because of the filthy conditions. Could not believe how clean and comfortable the rooms were here. I was such a breath of fresh air not to have to worry about rolling over in bed. Should mention the staff was especially friendly here too. Hotel in a cute little setting near restaurants and other shops. Rooms as clean as I have ever seen. Beds were more than comfortable. Would have expected to pay double for the quality I received. Just want to say thanks for salvaging my weekend.

everyone so nice and everything worked out great I love the area and the drive inn movie but the hotel is so very nice.check in smooth and traveled with family it all was pleasant and will have fond memories.

This was a great hotel to be at. The rates were very good. Breakfast each morning had hot and cold items. Rooms were clean and staff was very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again. We like the Lexington area.

First the good. Front desk staff was pleasant. We'd booked through booking.com and unwittingly reserved a smoking room. No problem, the front desk clerk graciously moved us to a non smoking room. The room itself was okay was the price. Seemingly clean but the towels looked dingy. Furnishings were dated. I really think I'd pay a bit more for a better place next time. Breakfast was little less than I would have expected, but not too far off the usual included fare.

The hotel was not clean and the room felt and smelled moldy. Hairs in shower upon arrival. The attendant at the front desk was cold and unhelpful. The room had the tv on when I came in and I thought I was in the wrong room. Electrical items not plugged in - lamps, for instance. I was very disappointed in the experience and cost/value.

My son and I were not planning on stopping in Lexington, but our departure from SC had been delayed and we found ourselves unable to complete the trip back to Maryland in a single drive. I usually research and reserve all our hotels well in advance so I was a bit nervous about finding a hotel "on the fly". We got incredibly lucky in finding this Best Western. The receptionist was very polite, friendly and helpful. I feel I got a fair rate for the night and the room had many excellent points. The room was spotless. The beds were super comfortable, and I was thrilled to wake up with no back pain, which is somewhat unusual for me when traveling. There were three good pillows on each bed. There were plenty of towels and they were larger and thicker than towels we have had in similar hotels. The bars of soap are actually big enough for two people to use easily. A prior hotel had provided what was more like a "sliver" of soap, versus a bar. I appreciated two decent sized bars. The vanity had an unusual amount of storage space, 6 small cubbies plus a cabinet. We didn't need it for our single night, but I thought it was well designed. The room was quiet. The shower was one of the best I've had. Plenty of water pressure. Housekeeping staff had a welcome greeting for us in the morning and the breakfast was better than usual for this level of hotel. The waffles were great, there was sausage, eggs and biscuits too, in addition to the typical offerings. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and stay here again. Now, the only reason I am giving it 4 versus 5 stars is because of the lack of blankets. This is the second Best Western I've stayed in recently and I wonder if this is something mandated by management, neither had warm blankets and we woke up due to cold. The beds had two sheets with a very thin blanket in between. It's warmth/thickness was more like a flannel sheet than a real blanket. My son was in the bed nearest the heater/AC and he woke up in the middle of the night because he was cold. I also woke up and turned up the temp. (Our room at home is often at just 60, so we are not used to having a super warm air temp, however we are used to having a down/artificial down comforter to keep us warm. ) This room's system fan blew quite hard, and even though I had it set to 73, the room temp remained at 65 and felt cold. I'm confident that we would have been fine if we had just had a decent blanket on the bed. We stayed in two other hotels this trip, and Best Western seems to be the only chain that doesn't provide blankets that are thick enough to keep you decently warm. I think many hotels have switched to down/artificial down comforters in washable duvets and those do a much better job at keeping you warm. I would have given it a 5 star review if we hadn't needed warmer blankets.

The hotel was clean and well decorated. The room was clean and beds very comfortable. We always try to stay at Best Westerns because they usually meet our expectations and this one did not disappoint. Breakfast options were good and had many things to choose from. We love Lexington and will more than likely stay here again.

Great place to stay if you are attending an agility trial at the VA Horse Center. Good place behind the hotel to walk dogs. 5 minutes from Trial site. The hotel has an Applebee's next door…easy to get to. Can get noisey IF VMI Cadets are on pass!!!

I was looking for a hotel near off ramp of I-64 with nearby gasoline station and restaurant. This had them all. Right off the ramp into a Mobile station with an Applebee's between it and the Best Western. Made a reservation via Travel Advisor while refueling. Two minute walk to Applebee's from my room. The hotel was showing some wear, but was clean. It appeared that this is a favorite stop for traveling construction and engineering firms.

We travel to Lexington numerous times over the year to attend events at the Virginia Horse Center. When possible we try to book the Best Western Lexington Inn. Unfortunately the latest stay just didn't add up to the usual experience. During our two night stay, when we got back to the hotel prior to the second night the housekeeping staff did a half hearted job cleaning and restocking the room. Luckily when I got back my bed was made, however I didn't realize linens hadn't been restocked until I was halfway in the shower. Dirt and shavings were still at the entrance of the room, just as they were when we left in the morning. However, our room was lucky as I booked a room for my parents as well and their room hadn't been touched and was only a few rooms down the way. Rather disappointing considering we spend a lot of time each year at Best Westerns.

We were treated very well here. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The location is close to town but quiet and with good access to everything. There is an Applebee's and a convenience store/gas station next door. The room was clean and quiet and breakfast in the charming lobby was nice. When we called to confirm that we could bring our pet parrot, they were very nice and helpful. The other, higher rated(?), Best Western in Lexington did not even answer the phone.

Staff and cleanliness of hotel was very good. Parking lots and walkway's well kept during a severe snow storm. Receipts for expense reports were accurate and detailed. I would fully recommend this hotel and use it again

Came to Lexington for a dog agility trial. Hotel very dog friendly. Nice area out behind notel to walk dogs. Easy access to I-64 and I-81 Adjacent Applebee's restaurant and a gas station. Quet room. Only one draw back, the room with double beds is small. So try to get a larger room. Otherwise, highly recommend staying at this location.

Nothing fancy but a good value especially considering the inclusion of breakfast. Only a mile from campus and easy drive. We would consider the hotel next time we visit Lexington and Washington and Lee University.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was easy to find and access to the highway was quick and easy to navigate. We plan on using this hotel to and from our travel from PA and FL

Although a bit dated room was clean, beds comfortable enough. Carpet felt wet- I assume from AC condensation. Breakfast was average. Staff in bkft room were friendly. Check in was efficient. Great location and excellent price point for a quick stopover in Lexington

Great place to stay. Clean, affordable and Applebees is right next door for dinner afterward. We went for a Lacrosse camp at Washington and Lee. Very happy with our experience. Eggs for breakfast were very good.

It needs renovation. The doors open to the outside. The beds are not that comfortable. The breakfast is okay. The room is worn and there are stains in the bathroom. There are nicer and newer Best Westerns down the street, but they were booked when we traveled through, so ended up staying here for a night.

Rooms have shabby appearance. Carpets look very dirty. Furnishings, bedding, and draperies look old and unclean. Heating/air conditioning unit very loud and noisy. Overall very noisy atmosphere. Rooms need major renovations. Would not stay here again. Felt unclean.

Good value for the money. Breakfast was average but several options available, cereal, pastries, yogurt, coffee and juices, eggs and sausage. Staff was nice. Bed was very comfortable and room was not overly noisy. Would stay again if in the area.

I will never stay at another hotel that doesn't have the boards around bottom of bed where your pets cannot hide. It was amazing. Every pet-friendly hotel should have one. The bed was comfy and the towels were plush. I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel!

This Best Western Lexington Inn exceeded our expectations in all categories. We have made 64 north/south trips over the years and this is the first resort which deserves a 5***** Trip Advisor rating. Starting with reception which was a beautifully-designed area staffed by a friendly, competent desk clerk, to the lobby which spectacular and then to our room which was just like a freshly-renovated model.....all of which was perfection itself. Restaurants were nearby and we walked to Applebee's. The location just off two major highways was easy to get to and the morning departure to our southern route was nearby. It will in our plans to time our trip north so that we can again enjoy the comfort of this particular inn. By the way, we had never stayed in a Best Western, so we are now 'sold' on changing our preferences wherever we travel.

I truly enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Lexington Inn. They share a parking lot with Applebee's, Dairy Queen and a mini-mart, which is quite convenient. Other restaurants, shopping and area attractions are just a short drive from the hotel. Rooms are super clean and have some of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept on. Staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The free breakfast offers a nice variety of cold and hot items and fresh coffee is available all day in the lobby. Wi-Fi works well, the exercise room is great and the property is very well kept. I'd definitely choose to stay here again, when visiting the Lexington area!

During a trip from Florida to Pennsylvania, I needed a place to stop for the night. A check of options on the Internet brought me to BW Lexington Inn. It was in a good spot (not far off I-81) and the price was right. The room was clean, the staff at check in was welcoming and helpful. The room was quiet and the bed was just right. An Applebees is a very short walk from the inn. Best Western Lexington Inn was a good place to take a break from the road. I'd do it again.

We had been driving in solid rain for two days due to the weather produced by hurricane Patricia. Really pooped and spirits low. The hotel staff really picked up our spirits with their friendly personalities. We do plan to stay there on our return trip in a few months. Great breakfast, great rooms

We decided to stay at the Best Western Lexington Inn for our trip to the Natural Bridge. We have stayed in the HI Express just behind the BW in the past, but the price at the Best Western won us over and will bring us back in the future. Check in was fast and friendly, our rooms were comfortable and clean and breakfast was as good or better than higher priced hotels. For lunch and dinner needs, an Applebee's is right next to the hotel and will give you a discount if you show them that you are a hotel guest. A gas station with an attached Dairy Queen is just on the other side of the Applebee's and a few other places are within a short drive. We were very happy with our stay and we look forward to returning to the Best Western Lexington Inn in the future.

While traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway we exited & spent a night here. It exceeded my expectations. The location was convenient. It was close to restaurants. Gas stations were also very close. The place was clean & quiet. The staff was courteous & helpful. I would give it 4.5 stars out of five.

Stopped at the Best Western Lexington Inn on our way to the Natural Bridge. Room was quiet and clean. Staff very friendly. The eggs at breakfast were on the cool side. Tried making the waffles three times and they did not bake properly. Batter was thin - probably sitting too long. Donuts were to the stale side. Booked this motel a good month before our arrival. Should have waited till two weeks ahead, room was $10 cheaper.

The Lexington Inn is one of the best Best Western locations we have ever stayed in. Keep up the great work ! Staff and overall cleanliness in room and building as well as access to restaurants we're outstanding!

It is close to town, staff was actually funny and talkative. Rooms are good, beds okay served continental breakfast. The only down side, which is not their fault is as far as food a Crapplebys next door is the only game in town. II have no idea how that chain survives.

Great place to stay for VMI's Parent weekend. No worries what so ever. Good location, not far from barracks for bringing my son back to take naps or just hang out. Applebees next door as is a DQ and convenience store.

This is an older hotel in need of a major renovation. The "motel" rooms are 40+ years old. The place is clean, the beds are good, the breakfast buffet is well done. The rooms are inexpensive. The bathrooms are small. The heating/cooling units in the rooms provide excellent white noise.

I recently relocated from Atlanta to the Philadelphia area to take a new job after a couple years of no employment. I drove up taking the "western route" to avoid Washington, DC traffic and for the more scenic ride. I decided to spend the night in the Lexington, VA area due to the easy availability of the road warrior (or weekend traveler) essentials: food, gas and lodging. I visited several hotel properties and asked three questions in order of importance to me: price (very important), high-speed internet and breakfast. Many hotels were $100+ for the lowest-priced room. Ugh! The Best Western excelled in all three criteria areas and was under $100 (rates may vary, or course). When I checked in I noted that the big-name "Express" hotel a few hundred feet behind them charged about twice what they were charging. The room was wonderful, service outstanding, and I got a great night's sleep on a comfortable bed with dream-inducing pillows, had a hearty breakfast the next morning and was on my way to Philly. I booked this hotel for a last-minute business trip. Will make sure to plan ahead and not stay there again. The rooms were not well maintained, the staff was apathetic at best and the breakfast was terrible.

Centrally located. Rooms was large and very clean. Refrigerator, hair dryer and night light. That was a great plus. They serve a great breakfast. The room was very reasonably priced and with such a great breakfast even a better deal. Applebee's is on the same property which was very convenient.

My wife and two daughters stayed here for Parents and Family Weekend at Washington and Lee University. I chose this hotel because it was the cheapest priced hotel that had the best ratings. I was not disappointed, and was actually pleasantly surprised. I wasn't sure what I'd be facing. From the start, the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate and updated. The free wifi worked great. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Slept like a rock. In the morning, the breakfast buffet was great. There were about all kinds of breakfast food options, including scrambled eggs and sausage patties, but also cereal, bagels, oatmeal, coffee, all kinds of juices, fresh-cut fruit, yogurt, make-your-own yummy waffles, and more. I was really pleased. My second morning, I had a scheduled breakfast at 9:30, but I went down and got "first breakfast" in the hotel first, as did one of my daughters. The woman stocking the breakfast was perfect--friendly and attentive. Checkout took about 20 seconds. Really. I was very pleased with this stay and intend to stay here next year, too, for the same event. This hotel is the closest to downtown Lexington of all that are close to the interstate on old Lee Highway (Route 11).

Clean, comfortable room. Reception staff extremely helpful. Poor soundproofing. We were disturbed at various times of the night by people using their bathrooms, snoring, slamming doors, hammering (!) and smoking on the walkway outside. Breakfast was usual buffet.

We were traveling up I-81 and needed to stop overnight, this was the cheapest place that had a king bed. We booked online and arrived half an hour later. The manager that checked me in was very nice. Rooms could use some updating but everything was very clean. We did not have breakfast, though it was offered. I'd stay here again for the price and when passing through.

This is a great facility with a great staff. This was our third stay and it continues to impress. After checking in i received a phone call from the front desk shortly after arriving in our room to make sure we were happy with everything. Any questions or needs are met with a smile and effort to please. Facility is very well maintained. The hot continental breakfast (small omelette and sausage) along with fresh fruit was very good and the dining area well maintained. Highly recommend this BW if you find yourself in the Lexington area.
