« Great breakfast, brilliant staff »

Best continental breakfast ever, especially the fruit salad "tower". Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was fine although small with limited lighting control. This was a business trip but for a holiday the location is exceptional - on the seafront - and a short walk from the centre of town and shops and restaurants.

    « Blissful Location. »

For tired travellers this hotel is bliss. We walked in off the street and were welcomed with the offer of several rooms of varying prices. We chose the one with a balcony overlooking the water: and what a good choice it was. We could virtually spit into the water. So lovely to sit on the balcony watching the surfers and people promenading. Also good to watch the sun set. The next day it rained and the staff were helpful in what to do. That afternoon we lay on the sumptuous bed and looked out the window at the wild water. There were numerous cafes along the street ... our only problem was which cafe to choose. Free parking was available in nearbye streets. Loved this hotel. The price was so reasonable for the quality.

    « Excellent hotel »

The room was comfortable, large, and airy, stylish and modern. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel is in an excellent location overlooking the beach, the breakfast was very good with stunning views out to sea. Parking is tricky, arrive early or late and take your chances with the free but busy unlimited in street parking local to the hotel

    « Nice atmosphere »

A very small room and nothing flash but the location is fantastic, right across from a beautiful beach and promenade. The airconditioner didn't work but the staff were very friendly and we enjoyed the breakfast (both the food and the view).

    « Great room »

We had room 101, which is 1 of 3 rooms on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the beach. It is also the largest of the three. The room is very nicely appointed and looks brandnew. Big bed, coffeemaker. The room did not have a fridge, and no safety deposit box. The wifi connection is extremely poor, you need to walk to reception to have a decent connection, or ask for a room closer to the lobby. Service is very good, we asked for snd received a sewing kit and icecubes. Cross the street and you are on the beach. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. No parking at the hotel, but we found a spot a few streets away.

    « Great location »

As this hotel is sitting right on the sea front, the view from the sea view rooms is wonderful. The bright, modern and airy rooms are very clean and comfortable. There was a good selection of high quality, local breakfast foods in a bright room with another amazing sea view. The staff were welcoming and helpful.

    « Delightful »

A very pleasant hotel with charming and very helpful staff. We had booked early in the year and requested a sea view room on the 3rd floor away from the lift. We were given room 301 which was perfect. Views stunning, and with the blinds closed at night very little outside noise. Breakfasts was of a good standard. The only negative is the lack of on site parking and a lounge to relax in.

    « Beautiful experience »

We got the chance to have a room with a view on the Ocean. The room was very clean, the service was perfect with a friendly and helpfull day/night shift. Great possibility to have your breakfast in the room. We highly recomand this hotel.

« Stay in Hotel Les Roches Noir, Les Sables D'Olonne, August 2015 »

No complaints at all about hotel. Excellent breakfasts, cleanliness fine, no mini bar but room had a fridge. Staff as helpful as we required. Parking is a problem at peak season. For most of our stay, we parked a 5 minute walk away. Not a great problem for us, but could be for some people. Would go back to resort and hotel.

    « Fabulous Views »

We arrived in Sable d'Olonne without having booked accommodation last September - I have only just realised that I did not review. This was the 2nd hotel we walked into - we asked to see the room available and were shown a room on the top floor overlooking the ocean with a small balcony. It was clean and a good size. The view over the ocean and promenade was fabulous! We did not eat in the hotel, choosing instead to walk down the prom to eat at one of the pavement cafes. There is also a Carrefour neaby where we bought a picnic . I would definitely return to Les Sables and this hotel again.

« Directly on the ocean »

I stay at le roche noire for just one night. The room was nicely refurbish and even if small it offers more than I expected: coffee and tee in the room and a bottel of water. Breakfast was ready before opening time and with a lot of good food, including fresh cackes and croissants!

    « Pleasant Surprise »

We arrived in Les Sables-D'Olonne with no hotel reservations. We searched hotel options on our GPS and decided to head to the Best Western. It is at the end of the strip but over looks the water. It is a small hotel but well appointed. We were able to get 3 rooms which were very clean and comfortable. No bells or whistles but very nice just the same. The girls at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the morning was great - Fresh and plentiful and the staff were very nice. Everything was in walking distance, even though this hotel was at the end of the strip, it was no problem getting anywhere. The waves on the ocean were good and the kids tried surfing for the first time (there is a rental place right outside the hotel). There are plenty of cafe's to eat at and the walk along the boardwalk is lovely. We enjoyed it so much, we stayed for a second night with no problem. We were not there during peak season so it was nice to have some flexibility with availability. I would recommend this hotel for sure. Clean rooms, nice staff and a good location can't be beat.

    « Happy Stay »

The hotel was centrally located and the room was spacious and clean. Wi-Fi was available but the reception was poor in the room and non existent for my kindle whilst on the balcony. The balcony itself has a fantastic view of the sea and the beach but was a bit small. Parking was great for us as we were lucky to get a parking space just outside the hotel where we parked for the full 6 days. We did not go down for breakfast but made our own coffee in the room and the staff supplied us with fresh milk every morning at no extra charge. Air con was very good and was certainly needed. The staff were very helpful.

« Good location if a bit quiet. »

A bit of an enigma really, exactly a mile from the hustle and bustle of the bars and restaurants of the port, but still on the prom with sea views and in season all the surrounding bars and restaurants will be open, but in the third week in May they weren't! Perhaps more for those that like peace and quiet in their hotel and and a nice stroll before and after dinner. The rooms were spacious, well furnished and clean, as was the bathroom, but with one caveat:sitting on the loo with the loo roll holder under your right armpit is disconcerting! All the staff were excellent and dealt with everything (and we had some problems, though not of the hotel's making) quietly and efficiently. There is off road parking just round the corner but with a 1.8 metre height restriction.

« Still touring - another one night stop »

This hotel was right in the centre of the resort, a beautiful spot. Our room was ok, no seaview, but there was air conditioning which was good. Room clean and bathroom fine. Staff very helpful and directed us to parking just a couple of minutes from the hotel, which was a great bonus in such a busy resort. Enjoyed our stay, and will return.
