BEST WESTERN Hotel Frisia,Leer

    « Central Hotel »

Very central hotel. Close to trainstation, shops, restaurantes. Stayed there for one night, little parking outdoors behinde the hotel. Got a room out to the street, was very warm because of the sun . No aircondison. Very noise outside at night. Good breakfast.

« Nice hotel, very central. »

We were 1 adult and 2 children. Got a huge room with a small kitchen and a balcony. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was included. The only negative thing I can write is that they didn't have glutenfree bread.

    « Hotel at Leer »

I stayed at this hotel at Leer during my recent business trip. It is located in a small town. As there was no air conditioner in the room the window had to be opened. The room were clean and bed was comfortable. This is a restaurant besides this hotel, that offers reasonably good food. The staff at the reception were generally quite helpful.

« Unfriendly staff and complicate WiFi... »

The hotel is located conveniently by the train station. It is not new. There is an excess of smelly carpets everywhere. Breakfast is very basic for North European standards. The most important cons: Very unfriendly and uncooperative staff at the reception. Very complicate Internet access, with secretive passwords and very limited data available, in particular if you go on a business trip and you need a good, permanent and reliable Internet connection.

« The best hotel in Leer town centre »

I have stayed at this hotel many times since it opened and have always been satisfied. The hotel is modern and the rooms are clean. The breakfast choice is good. The only downside is the nearby railway station, so if your room is on the back of the hotel it can be quite noisy. However, the location is perfect for shopping in the main traffic free street opposite the hotel entrance, and there is adequate free parking behind the hotel.

« When selection is scarce »

Best Western was the one that popped up as the best of the few around. The hotel was nothing to talk about. A bit noisy because of the railway station next door. Rooms should soon be up for a refurbishment. Breakfast was ok. The thing that pulls this one up was the very positive staff, always with a smile and a comment with good humour while being efficient. They even spoke good English, which is not always common around Germany.

« To expensive for what is on offer »

The hotel is next to the Hauptbahnhof (Central Railwaystation) in the centre of Leer. It's a basic hotel of which there are a 'dime a dozen', nothing special, nothing to complain about, but also nothing to write home about. But the price doesn't reflect this, it's expensive for what they offer. No wifi in the hotel room! Parking at the back of the hotel is free, but limited number of places (if the hotel is full there aren't enough spaces!) Breakfast is the same as the rest of the hotel: basic, although the lady serving was very nice

« Well positioned, clean and quiet hotel »

Stayed here on a business trip. Position is excellent right next to leer station with luminated sign to show you where it is. Good size room and excellent shower with free Internet. Breakfast was good and tea was excellent served with warmer, breakfast milk and special cups. As previous reviewers have said, no resturant, but a number of restaurants within yards to include steak, Mexican and Greek.

    « Pleasantly German »

I have had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for a considerable period now (10 nights total). It is very well situated in Leer, Germany directly next to the train station and 2 minutes walk from the pedestrianized high-street and near the river (canal). The staff are the most outstanding aspect of this hotel, very pleasant front desk, accommodating and helpful catering team and friendly cleaning crew. At one point I had missed breakfast and the catering staff were as kind as to rustle up a breakfast for me at a moments' notice. Front desk helped me change rooms and were pleased to help me with a number of inquiries, whether directions or advice on aspects of Leer. Niggles: - Internet access uses a voucher system, valid for 3 days or 500MB. Using Skype or facetime, I was getting through a voucher a day, and would have to head back to reception to obtain replacements. Each voucher is dedicated to one device, so in the age of multimedia where, like me, you might use a personal smart-phone, work smart-phone and laptop, you have to get a voucher for each. - I stayed during the hottest day of the year, and therefore as there is no aircon in the rooms, I had the windows open and a small fan permanently running (kindly provided upon request by the hotel). As it is on a main road (or by the railway depending on which side of the building) this lead to some rather disturbed nights of sleep. - There is no room-service or restaurant in-house, however the hotel adjoins a few establishments. It does have a bar with beer on tap and finger-food. - The TV is fairly rudimentary German terrestrial channels with a lot of "empty" channels that I kept finding myself skipping through losing patience. - The rooms themselves aren't going to blow anyone away, not sure why the "premium" rooms are premium priced. You just get a bath and a little more floor space as far as I can tell. In general, I would recommend this hotel to someone wishing to stay in Leer on business, or as a family. I overheard a young couple complaining that it is not a very "happening" hotel, and I am prone to agree as most of the other guests at breakfast were either business people or older couples or older tourist groups. But it suited my needs.
