    « Poor Management »

We've stayed at this hotel in the past, and although the hotel itself is fine, we found the Management not really up to the task of wanting return guests, especially guests that have left very favorable reviews in the past. We had reservations that were made months in advance for the September 2016 timeframe. We understood the refund policy when we made the reservation, however an unexpected illness (a highly contagious one at that) made the stay impossible without the risk of others staying at the hotel getting infected, so we cancelled. When we called the hotel 2 days before our scheduled arrival, we were told that there will be a cancellation fee of one night charged. This is during the height of the season in Laguna Beach and I'm confident that the room was rented out as soon as we cancelled. While we understand cancellation polices, we feel a bit taken advantage of as the hotel was allowed to ?double dip? on that room. Needless to say we can't give a recommend for this hotel at this time.

    « Great beach hotel!! »

My family enjoyed staying here! Very close to the beach! Also walking distance to shopping and dining near by. Very cute little area to wander through shops and unique restaurants to try. The breakfast at the hotel was nice, eggs, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, lots of options!! Very cute, quaint hotel! We will definitely be back!!

« Good family stay for one night »

Hotel was very clean and located very Continent beach access near by. We loved the sun deck. Kids used the whirlpool style bath tubs after a day at the beach to relax. Beds were comfortable. Lots of good food places close by. Staff was very polite and helpful

    « great beach hotel »

This is a great property in a beach city. the rooms are very nice, breakfast is great, it has a great pool area and upper level sundeck with an awesome view. The staff is very helpful and assisted me throughout my stay. Close to the beach and located near all of the laguna beach areas.

    « Nice and old »

Our original room was steps from the sidewalk and the Coast Highway. The front desk clerk,Dima, offered us three alternatives and the one we picked was just fine. Top floor, huge deck, nice view. Wrong side of the highway but good value. Dima was outstanding in making us feel welcome and valued customers. She went out of her way to find us a suitable room. Thanks Dima!

    « We will Return »

Comfortable and clean, well appointed hotel with friendly staff and comfortable beds. Less noisy than the center of town yet close to good amenities. We enjoyed the roof top patio where we sipped wine and watched the sunset over the ocean. The ocean is just across the street.

« Hot breakfast, helpful staff, close to everything, good value and location »

This hotel looks like a beautiful resort from the exterior. It is on an inner street where all of the cutest shops and restaurants are located. You can see the ocean from the roof top patio and we could see it from our room on the 3rd floor. The fellow at the front desk was really helpful. Not only did he upgrade us to a better room but he also told us about the parking deal, where you can buy a coupon for a $50 credit at one of three restaurants in town plus get a bottle of wine. He also tipped us off to the beach at the bottom of Pearl Street which he indicated had been reviewed as one of the most beautiful beaches on the coast....and was it ever! We ended up eating at a restaurant called Kya and were very happy. Great Hawaiian Ahi poke, delicious avocado truffle pecorino tomato confit toast, farm salad which the waiter recommended and was excellent, filet mignon tips cooked perfectly and a really tasty banana bread pudding. All were very reasonably priced too! Tons of cute shops in Laguna, it's clean, high end, beautiful and the town beach is great for swimming, has a boardwalk and play area for kids as well as volleyball nets. Our room was very attractive and there was always room in the parking garage. Breakfast on the roof top patio was always beautiful as the ocean is there for you to watch. Best floor to get a room on is the third floor as that is where the breakfast room and pool/hot tub at located. We were on the north side, 3rd floor. It was quiet and we could see the ocean between the buildings. There is a patio to sit on as well. The hot tub is great but the pool is really too small and shallow at 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 feet however, it's heated so great if you have small kids to entertain. It and the hot tub also have lifts to get people who are in wheel chairs or otherwise handicapped into the pool. The shops are all along a mile long strip that ends at the beach on this street. Only regret we had was not renting a scooter, which you can do. I have mobility issues and it's a bit hilly in Laguna so I would have enjoyed shopping more with the help. Final note...great staff, great location, attractive exterior, nice rooms (we had two queen beds as we were bringing our daughter to Disney) and a good deal on parking if you buy the dinner coupon!

« Great Laguna Beach Stay »

This was a great late minute find in Laguna Beach, Great Hotel, Great location, Great staff. Very nice hotel design making it feel like a very small hotel. Good breakfast included. Walk right out the door to everything including only a few steps to the beach.

    4
« Good value for location and price »

Booked last minute, across from beach, short walk to shops and food. room needs updating and some cleaning but we got lucky with a private location and patio so it off set the condition. I would not have been happy staying on a lower level on the street, so in the back away from noise was the success of staying there.

    « ANNIVERSARY TRIP 49 YEARS »

« Awesome service, quality & value for money »

Great staff and attentive manager who takes a genuine interest in ensuring a good stay for guests combined with spacious, clean & well appointed rooms and a complementary hot breakfast & you really do have a no brainer. The pool area & deck overlooking the ocean is a great place to have a few drinks & watch the sun go down. A hotel really worth trying.

    « Nasir was great! »

Nasir at the front desk was so friendly and helpful and truly made our (late) check-in experience great. I will definitely visit the hotel again and hopefully he'll be there when he check-in next time! Great, clean, hotel, great staff, & a great price.

    « Great Visit »

Great hotel and staff! I had a wonderful time, and I can't wait to go back. I highly recommend this location to all.. incredibly close to beach, restaurants, boutique shopping and a super market. This location is great for those of you that like to walk. it is about two miles from down town.

    « Laguna Beach Wedding »

Came to Laguna Beach for a friend's wedding. Stayed at the Best Western because of proximity to the venue and was very pleasantly surprised. Free internet, free breakfast and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Clean room, fairly large and with solid amenities. Staff offered great recommendations for the area and went out of their way to provide an enjoyable experience. Would absolutely stay again.

    « Couldn't Go, Couldn't Cancel »

My wife got sick the day we were supposed to leave for our trip. There was a No Cancellation policy on the reservation, so we payed for our stay, even though we didn't get to enjoy it. Caveat Emptor!!

« Good times were had! »

Went for a lilt celebration after soccer. All of us had a great time with all that Laguna has to offer. Bonfires pretty much across the street!!! The hotel is the perfect lil beach get away - breakfast was yummy, the bed was so comfy and the staff is great!!!

« Stay at Best Western Plus »

Very spacious room, accommodating staff for request of guests. Breakfast was very good with good diverse choices. Pleased with request to accommodate on ground floor. All staff very polite and well informed.

« The Beach is just across the street »

This is my second stay at the hotel. The welcoming staff, room cleanliness, available parking, and delicious breakfast are all reasons I returned to Las Brisas. The rooftop deck is a great place to view the sunset. The hotel is just across the street from the beach, and a short drive north on PCH 1 takes you to the municipal beach. Public transportation is available on the corner. A very good value - will stay there again.

    5
    « Perfect location! »

This is a perfect location for a short weekend get away to relax and enjoy beautiful Laguna Beach. Conveniently located across from the beach and near shops and restaurants. The service is excellent and the view of the sunset from the terrace is amazing!

« Travelling by car from LA to San Diego »

I was traveling with a small group of friends by car from LA to San Diego stopping off at beach locations along the way. Laguna was a must stay in our plans and we wanted to be within walking distance of main part of town. The Best Western Laguna Brisas Spa Hotel fitted all our criteria and we were extremely happy with this choice. The staff were friendly, courteous and very obliging. They assisted with local information, suggestions where to eat and couldn't have been more helpful. The room was well appointed, spacious (twin share) and had a huge spa bath. The room was reasonably priced, clean, modern and the beds were extremely comfortable with just the best pillows. My only criticism was the traffic noise early morning however, I was told when booking that the Hotel was situated on a busy thoroughfare. This certainly didn't detract from an overall very pleasant experience.

« Nice hotel, cleaning good nice beds »

Very nice hotel. Staff helpfull and smiling. Beds wonderful, room small but very nice. wonderfull view to the sea from the public balcony. Want to stay there again. Very close to the beach, lovely beach. Free shuttlebus down town.

« Great Service, amazing location. »

Great service. Checked in and Camil was very helpful. Location is amazing as well and parceling is very convenient. I will definitely be staying here again next time in am in the laguna beach area!!!!

    5
    « Perfect! »

I got in late and was pretty frazzled, so it was a very nice being welcomed (and upgraded) by Dima! Very easy and quick check-in process and the balcony room is so comfortable and has a spa! I want to stay longer! Only downside: no food spots are open late in the immediate vicinity!!!!

    4
    « Beatiful sunset views! »

The rooftop pool and deck are lovely, great views of street and sunset. Everything else comfortable, not extreme luxury but nice. We stayed at several other hotels during our trip and this one was a lower price compared to others we stayed at, so based on that fact you get what you pay for. Clean, and helpful staff. Towels and umbrellas for the beach. But the best feature is the rooftop!

    5
    « Awesome Service! »

Thank You Camil for your outstanding customer service at check-in, you were very helpful! He assisted us with all questions, car parking, and great tips for local city fun. Camil made the (positive) difference that you don't experience at other hotels.

« Nice hotel, great staff. »

This is a nice hotel that offers a great value for price paid. I have an office in Irvine and gladly stay here for the views and local amenities. I have stayed here multiple times and the staff is excellent accommodating. Kevin has gone out of his way to help me and other work colleagues get rooms and meeting space. Top floor ocean facing rooms offer nice views and space to sit and enjoy drinks or meals. Rooms are a bit dated, but an easy trade off for the location.

« poor experience at Best Western and Laguna Brisas spa Hotel »

upon checkout the computers were down and i could not get a copy of my bill. when I finally got the copy i was overcharged. I contacted the hotel but got zero satisfaction. first they told me it was for taxes, then it was for a dine out program, then it was an error by hotel .com. they had no idea, and could not explain the difference and refused to credit my account. the taxes did not add up, the dine out program was less, no reasonable explanation.

    4
    « great value »

this is a great hotel with ocean view!!! staff is very helpful. i love the deal with the gift card and a free parking AND... you get a free bottle of wine of your choice with 2 glasses:} it is 99 steps from the beach as advertised...

    « Laguna Beach Wedding »

If you are planning on staying at this hotel, please be advised to request a room on an upper floor and at the back of the property. Our room was on the 1st floor facing PCH and the traffic noise was terrible. We had to run the fan on the air conditioner all night just to drown out the noise. It is likely that any hotel located on Coast Hwy will have traffic noise as the town has become very crowded. Also cell phone reception was nonexistent in our room, there was reception at the pool and on the corner outside the hotel. On the plus side, the room was spacious, clean, and recently updated.

    5
« Great location, awesome service. »

Stayed here on a work/play trip. Was so close to the water and some trendy shops/restaurants. Was very happy with the service at the front desk. Very close to the trolley which offers rides all the way throughout Laguna. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Laguna Beach visit »

I was visiting home from Dubai, the weather was great and the city of Laguna Beach is a wonderful place. hotel location is excellent. the parking overnight for the hotel was too expensive and it's difficult to park on side streets.

    4
« Hope it will get better »

Stayed here as a family gateway on summer, found a reasonable price for this hotel so might as well spend a night. Hotel itself was a bit outdated, but they were doing some renovation while we were there. The room felt a bit damp and the air cond sound was quite loud, better bring your earplug. Need more cleaning as we found some dust in the toilet, near the air conditioner. A bit hard to find parking space as some the spaces were taken for renovation purposes, hopefully when the renovation is fully done, more parking space for the hotel guests, but there was a charge to park your car. The location is conveniently located and easy to hop on and off the free bus. We found the staff is accommodating and friendly. Just ask and you might get it. Overall, this hotel can do better and hopefully the renovation also include change of carpet, so no more dampened room.

« Bit disappointed with ocean view room »

Arrived for 3 nights and bit disappointed with ocean view, could only see the ocean in the distance, main road in front of hotel and street of apartments in front. Paid quite a bit extra for the view. On arrival informed no shuttle bus only at weekends. I struggle walking and asked about local buses to the main town, the receptionist kindly asked the manager through the back about buses and he shouted, she can walk! Found out the buses run every 20/30 minutes with seats outside each stop, so you can walk as far as you want and rest in between. Not impressed with comment. Cooked breakfast very poor but good for a diet. Overpriced for, what we paid.

    5
    « great location »

The best part of this hotel is its location and friendly staff, especially Kevin the office manager. We have stayed here for many years. Easy walk to beach and restaurants and nice view of the water. Good breakfast included. They even offer beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and sand toys. They have a nice pool also.

    3
« Great bargains for some people »

the location is approx 2 miles from downtown but the free buses leave every 20 minutes , so you don't need your car. Stayed here and took 2 buses to go to the Pageant of the Masters but it was worth it. we had a nice but small room which was clean and neat, the breakfast was plentiful but the waffles were as tough as shoe leather. the parking is convenient but it costs $20 per night and there is a way to save it but the front desk does not tell you so i will.On the front desk are bottles of wine and the Inn has an arrangement with the Restaurant next door wherein if you pay $50 the Inn will give you 2 free nights parking a $40 value plus a bottle of wine and a $50 gift certificate for the restaurant , i don't yet know how good the wine is but the restaurant was excellent with a great view and outstanding cocktails. The free bus stops across the stree which is convenient and also across the street is an entrance to the beach which is a short walk down a driveway. This beach is not as crowded as the main beach but also not as interesting because of the lack of people. almost forgot if you are disabled then this is the place for you, this is the first hotel that i have ever found that has 2 lifts by the pool to put disabled people into the pool and jacouzi and they have ramps going everywhere.

    3
« Reasonable price, great staff, but a bit shabby »

Very reasonable prices for Laguna Beach. The staff was great. Our room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was fine. About 1 mile from town, beach access across the street. The only real downside for us was the bathroom...chipped tile and paint, missing grout and overall just a bit dingy and shabby. The old spa tub/shower combo is awkward to say the least. It requires climbing in and out and the bottom of the tub has an uneven surface. Other than that this BW is a good choice, if you don't mind an older place that could use a bit if updating.

    5
« Great Value, Great Location »

Love this hotel and the location is perfect! Staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are updated, bright and spacious. The summer trolley is right outside the door and is a great way to get around Laguna Beach.

    4
« RELAXING ATMOSPHERE NEAR BEACH »

Our family needed a place to get away before the school starts so we found this quiet place near the beach which is perfect! It's got accessible places nearby for my dad in law who was on his power chair all the time, and great Thai massage place nearby where we got pampered. Overall experience was great! Other than the difficulty accessing the hotel's pool and spa (just no way how I was figuring out to open that gate!),the not so pleasant view of the ocean (obstructed by another motel directly in front of the beach), and a feel of really antiquated walls, roofing and floors (they are, as I was told, renovating this year), we loved our stay here.

    4
    « Very fair »

The Hotel is not the newest anymore. Nevertheless we payed very decent money, got the parking, pool and breakfast included. Rooms could get some remodelling but for the money absolutely nothing to complain about!!!!!

    5
    « Exceptional Customer Service »

My wife and I visited Best Western Plus, Laguna Brisas-Laguna Beach. We received exceptional customer service from the entire staff. Front Office Manager, Kevin Kinney, took a personal interest in making sure all of the beach hotel guests were having a great experience. The free breakfast offered eggs, bacon, potatoes, cereal, juices and coffee. The room was very clean and comfortable with a view of the beach. Thank you, F. Robison of Gilbert, AZ.

    « Pleasant surprise »

We were disappointed that the elevator did not serve the area of the fourth floor where our room was located, but the front desk staff quickly fixed that, and assigned a room on the third floor. That was the only glitch. Everything else went well, and the staff were consistently cheerful and accommodating. The hotel is also located next door to an awesome restaurant. Overall, a good value, especially considering the location. We'll be back!

    5
« Great location and staff »

Great location in Laguna Beach! The service is excellent and it is far better than the other hotels of comparable cost. The breakfast is good, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is so helpful, friendly and courteous! Having lived in Laguna Beach for 20 years this was a great reminder of why I come back!

    4
    « Nice Hotel »

Across PCH from the beach (and a beach access point) and they have towels you can use. Upper floor rooms and entire 4th floor deck have "across street" ocean views. Front Desk staff and management VERY helpful; were able to get us reservations on short notice at Taverna (great newer restaurant) on a Saturday eve packed house (within walking distance of Pageant of the Masters show!! Has parking and a side entrance on Bluebird Canyon as an alternative to PCH as well. Only downside is the noise from PCH, which comes with the territory in many Laguna Beach hotels.

    4
    « Comfortable, great location. »

Very happy with this place. My elderly parents who are mobility-challenged were able to navigate the property with ease. Added bonus is Blue Bird beach, across the street which is accessible by a road that slopes down to the sand (i.e., there are no steps). Rooms are good sized, and some feature whirl pools.

    4
« Rooms in front are noisy. »

I stayed in room 202 in the corner facing PCH and Bluebird Canyon. The room has been refurbished and was nice inside. I asked for a room with a view, not worth it! The room was as advertised with a partial view to ocean but I could not open balcony doors or use deck because of traffic noise. Walking around the property I think the rooms in back or on the 4th floor would be a must. Jimmy at the front desk was very helpful. The breakfast was good and typical for hotel. I recommend making your plate and eating on the Sunset Terrace 4th floor, great views.

    4
    « nice hotel »

I enjoyed my stay at this lovely small hotel. It was across the street from the beach and an easy, short walk to town. Had a nice room with a balcony to view the ocean. The staff was great and they offered a stay & dine special that introduced me to the very good restaurant next door - which had a rooftop restaurant/bar. I'd go back and stay there again. Jimmy at the front desk was VERY helpful!

    5
    « Beach stay »

This Best Western in Laguna Beach was perfect...Had a partial view of the ocean with a balcony. We will be back! Always look forward to the continental breakfast which is complimentary during our stay...

« Incredible value. Can't wait to come back next year »

Great location, great price, nice room, friendly staff (lady who helped us at check in an exception), nice breakfast included. Wi-Fi a bit temperamental. We look forward to coming back again next year.

    « Memories »

We stayed at this hotel 7 years ago when we traveled the US for 8 weeks as a family and with my best friend. In June, my best friend passed away and we decided to add on time to our already planned trip to relive "old times" and take a trip down memory lane. Staying here was important to us. Kevin and his staff made our trip very special and we thank him (and them) for their kindness and warmth.

    4
    « Anniversary »

We enjoyed our stay very much for our anniversary. Our room was on the 4th floor in the back and our view from the balcony was lovely. The front desk staff gentlemen were professional and helpful. This was our first time at this hotel and I would definently stay here again. Thank you for making our stay so rememberable.

  • 4
    « Good hotel, noisy A/C »

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The free breakfast was well presented and included hot item such as scramble eggs and sausage. There was a make your own waffle station. The room was clean and well appointed. The "ocean view" was not much (only if you looked in a very small sector. There is no central air. Each room has its own A/C unit, which is extremely noisy (could not hear the TV very well)

    5
    « Very accommodating! »

I chose this hotel based on price and location. We were in Laguna Beach to attend the Festival of the Arts and Pageant of the Masters. Parking in LB this time of year is very difficult and expensive, so you can imagine how grateful we were that the hotel staff allowed us to park our car in their underground garage many hours ahead of our check-in time and many hours after our checkout time. This allowed us to take advantage of the free trolley service in LB. There were trolley stops just a half block away from the hotel on Bluebird Canyon. So easy! So convenient and so accommodating on behalf of the hotel staff.

« Beautiful Sunrises and Sunsets! »

This was one of our best hotel experiences ever! This is a family run hotel and the staff is excellent. They also have a great breakfast every morning from 7:00am to 10:00am. The room faced the ocean and the sunsets and more surprisingly to me the sunrises, were beautiful over the ocean. The room was also immaculate and very comfortable with a small sink area with microwave, coffee, refrigerator and the normal room amenities. This is a non-smoking hotel but has common areas where you may smoke. They also have 2 restaurants right next door and more a little further. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff is. They really made everything so comfortable that we did not want to leave. They answered any questions we had and always pointed us in the right direction. The next time we go to Laguna Nigel, CA, we will definitely stay here and not stay anywhere else at any price!

« My favorite Laguna property and staff »

This is the only place I stay when I travel to Laguna. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, willing to go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The views from the 4th floor balcony area of the Pacific are wonderful, and its convenient to many fine dining establishments. Thanks for everything Kevin Kinney, Dima, Dina and everyone!!!! See you again soon!

    « Amazing stay »

Kevin really went out of his way to accommodate us. Our stay was really rejuvenating thanks to Kevin and the staff here. We stayed in room 420 and it was super nice. The view was beautiful and it had a nice outside patio area.

    5
    « Enjoyed our stay »

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was within walking distance of beach. The hotel staff was very accommodating. We got our rooms cleaned right away. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast provided had a variety to choose from.

    « My Choice »

We love to stay in this hotel because of the location and the big tubs. This hotel has the most comfortable bed I have slept in and the rooms are very clean. Some people complain about the dampness of the room but you have to remember it is right on the ocean and they have Jacuzzi tubs in the room and that makes this place fun.

    3
« A most awkward hotel, in the middle of refurbishment »

This BW+ is a truly awkward concept: all rooms are in sort of separate buildings; masses of individual staircases up and down... Very tough with luggage... The hotel appears also to be in the middle of (clearly needed) refurbishment and touch-up; most areas were very worn and tired. The pool and hottub were also tired and 'sandy'... The best parts were a huge patio over the roofs, with a beautiful ocean view, and the parking underneath. Still, a nice stay. Maybe it will prove interesting (under new management?).

    5
    « Value for Money + »

This was a pleasant surprise in terms of value for money compared to similar hotels in the area. What made it better was the service we received from Kevin (in particular) and Dina, who both went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible which included local tips and great restaurant tips. We found everything in walking distance. There was also a huge array of restaurants nearby so we did not need to use our car.

    « OK value »

Theis was probably the most run down best western i have stayed in. doors and wall s were pretty thin. the beds were comfortable. the decor was outdated and a lot of remodeling was occurring. the location was decent and the breakfast buffet was fine for this kind of motel.

    5
    « Nice location! »

I have stayed in this hotel twice in the last six months. Both times I stayed there the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The last visit to this hotel we were given a $50 gift card to K'ya a restaurant a few blocks away. We were also given a botte of wine upon checking in. We reserved a balcony room on the third floor overlooking the ocean and had a beautiful view. The free breakfast was ok.. wish they had some healthier options. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be staying there again on the next trip

Great hotel location. Very close to the beach and close to where I needed to go for business. There is no room service and we had an issue with checking in for a day. I specifically asked if my fiancé could check us in since the room as under my name, and I was assured it would be no problem but it was. He ended up hanging out from 8am-630pm until I got back from my business class to check us in. Internet was in and out as well. Beautiful rooms and amenities. Decent breakfast and nice staff. The vending machines were empty so there wasn't really another to drink other than what was at the font desk or the water in your room. Overall good experience

« Great value and location! »

This hotel is right across the street from the beach and the value is fantastic compared to others that are right on the beach. The front desk staff provided us with beach chairs and towels and were really helpful with recommendations and information about Laguna. Oh, and the breakfast buffet was excellent! We will definitely be back!

« cleaner for price of room »

cleanliness lacking. air conditioner hardly accessible, unable to program temperature. Other Best Westerns we have stayed in were more comfortable, at a lower price, although I do realize that this location is "Laguna Beach," for the price I expected a little more than we experienced.

« Quick visit to Laguna »

We requested a guiet room and were given one at the back of the complex which was very quiet. The hotel does have stairs on some levels so if you have a heavy bag request one that doesn't need stairs to get to. Didn't use the pool but seemed popular. Car spaces were $15 so well priced. Breakfast wasn't too bad, a sort of buffet style on paper plates. The bed was very good so we enjoyed our quick one night stay.

« Cool hotel with some caveats »

Great location and the room was nice. We booked an ocean view room with balcony. That's what we got. Super convenient on the corner of the 2nd floor. The room also had a jacuzzi tub. The biggest single drawback of this room was the traffic noise. With the windows closed and the AC providing white noise, it was bearable, but make no mistake, PCH has traffic at all hours. The weather was spectacular and we really wanted to have the balcony door and windows open, but the constant barrage of cruising motorcycles and other loud vehicles just made it impossible. The rest of our experience was great! Many great restaurants within walking distance. The main beach is about a mile away. We walked all over. The rooftop deck is nice. We often had it to ourselves over the 4 days we were there. We brought food back and ate lunch with that great ocean and Catalina Island view. The continental breakfast was adequate. The scrambled egg-like substance was a little watery and oddly textured. The waffle maker was a nice touch and there were plenty of fruit choices and some cereal. The best thing that can be said is that it was convenient and there was plenty. One less meal to worry about, walk to, or try to find parking for. I would definitely stay here again. I liked the quirky layout of the place and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Just bring earplugs!

« Beach chairs and towels - Nice touch! »

We really enjoyed our stay. It is within walking distance of the beach (right across the street). The hotel provides you with complimentary beach towels and beach chairs. The staff was friendly. People staying there were relatively quiet and kept to themselves. The view from fourth floor was really nice and there is outdoor tables and chairs to enjoy the view, especially with your complimentary breakfast.

« Excellent hotel and location with friendly staff »

From check in to check out, this hotel was great. I've stayed here a handful of times as well as my friends that have been staying here for years. The rooms are comfy, the location is superb and the staff is very friendly. The morning breakfast is great especially the bakery goods. The manager Kevin was accommodating and tolerant of my fun group too.

Excellent staff, clean rooms , centrally located in Laguna Beach. Accomadations for parking were superb, Having a room with a view of the pacific Ocean , having come from NY was priceless I rate this hotel a "Ten", I would stay here on my next trip to California for either business or pleasure A great view of the Pacific ocean , Loved it.

    « Great Customer Service »

Hotel was nice and clean, staff was friendly and great at recommending eating spots, location was close to great hangouts and just across the street from the beach. The only downfall was the lack of views, but for the price it was worth it.

    « Not worth 2 night minimum »

My husband and I have stayed at the hotel several times over the last 20 years. When we first went it was nice and newly remodeled. Unfortunately, it is in need of another update. The hotel is showing its age. Our air conditioner was rusty and leaking in the outside. The floors in the outdoor hallways were bubbling and peeling. Our room was right on PCH so it was incredibly loud. All of the lights in the room were on those timer switches. Something was wrong with ours so it turned the ceiling lights on and off several times in the middle of the night! The spa tub takes forever to fill up to point of not being worth it. The good news is that it is right across the street from the beach. So easy to cross and be right there. The hotel has a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, and waffles. There are various cold items, too. I would have been happy staying there one night, but there was a two night minimum. Definitely not worth it to stay there two nights.

    « Location and Value »

This is a good location with access to area restaurants, directly across the street from the beach, and only a few minutes to downtown Laguna Beach. The trolly access makes it very easy to go to and from in both directions of Pacific Coast Highway. The value is good and the exterior of the hotel is nice. The staff is courteous and friendly and the rooms are modest but clean. Family friendly too with Wifi and complimentary breakfast.

« The staff here made our trip! »

Upon arriving I mentioned that my mother had injured her foot, so Leo switched us to a room that would prevent her from needing to walk too far from our car. Later Kevin gave us a multitude of ideas for fun activities to do with small children. We did almost all of them and we had a wonderful trip as a result! Our room was very clean and posh. The kids loved making waffles at the full breakfast. I was delighted to find that they even offered almond milk at the breakfast so I didn't have to drink my coffee black. The view from the roof top deck was breath taking. The pool was clean and warm(despite the rain). All of the staff treated us like royalty. We had such a great time that we are already planning our return trip.

Awesome place! Staff was great and it was clean. Stephanie was very helpful in providing directions and recommendations . We were right across from the beach and a short walk from plenty of stores. Great area and great food. I also recommend zoolu café! We will definitely stay here again

    « Out dated rooms »

We booked through Booking.com and never visited the hotels site so we were surprised to be charged parking when we arrived. We were told to call booking.com and let them know about it. When we got into our room it appeared okay but very outdated. We had a large jaccuzzi tub that you had to climb into in order to take a shower. The floor is not level in the bottom and not easy to keep your balance while showering. There is mold around the edges of the tub tile and large cracks. The refrigerator was in the bathroom on the floor, I'm assuming because it leaks, instead of it being in the cabinet where it once was. It had an inch of ice in the freezer and froze all of our items that were in the refrigerator the first day. There was a very loud fan in the bathroom that they came and disconnected. There were dead bugs in the corner of the bathroom behind the toilet. There was dirt and dust on the tray with the coffee maker that had not even been wiped down for some time. The glass on the desk looked like it had been wiped with a wet rag. After addressing our concerns with the manager, they took care of some of it and we dealt with it. We went and sat in the outdoor hot tub one night and the jets barely work. They do not want to hire the staff to keep this place operating the way it should. When we checked out, the manager was up on the 3rd floor making coffee and we waited in the lobby for him. This hotel is not concerned about the maintenance and care of the property. It's clear it's about the revenue as they never offered to help us out by giving us a discount or give us our parking fees back. Very unhappy with our stay here and will not return!

    « Spring break »

The room was amazing, we absolutely loved it. had a room on the 4th floor with rooftop access over looking the ocean, it was beautiful. The breakfast was very good and well stocked, the staff was very friendly especially Dina who checked me in and spoke to me the entire time I was sitting in the lobby waiting and helped me with everything I asked for. It was a very relaxing and fun stay, we definitely will stay here next time we come to California!!

« Pleasant hotel needs some updating »

Best Western Lagunas Brisas is a nice place to stay for a couple of nights. The service was great and the rooftop deck can't be beat. Our room was on the first floor right next to the lobby so we experienced quite a bit of noise early in the morning due to hotel lobby activities and due to traffic since we were street side. The room itself was a bit dark and in sore need of new carpet and a good deep cleaning of the sofa. The spa tub was wonderful after a long day shopping in town - and town is just a quick mile walk away. There is no fitness center/room so be aware of that. Parking is onsite for $15/night. If we return we would want a room on a higher level.

« A Quick Stay in Laguna with Friends »

Friends from college were visiting on the West Coast and had planned a stay in Laguna Beach. So, we joined them in Laguna (a city which was, in part, settled in its very early days by my wife's great grandfather -- they built the second house in the City). Our friends were staying across the street but we liked the deal we got at Laguna Brisas Spa Hotel. We had a nice view of the Pacific, a 50 step "walk" to the pool/jacuzzi and the breakfast room was on the same level as was ours. We had a jacuzzi/hot top room in the room as well. Breakfast was included in the price as was excellent wi-fi. Parking was a bargain (off street, plenty of empty spaces - two entries [one off PCH and one off Bluebird Canyon Blvd]). We walked a lot, but would note that Laguna Beach has a free shuttle and it stops in easy walking distance of the hotel.

    4
« Good value with some caveats for those with small children or the physically challenged. »

After deciding it was time for a Laguna Beach trip, I came across a decent deal for the Best Western Laguna Brisas. Having stayed there before, I knew what I was in for so we took the plunge. Not much has changed since I stayed there last, so I'll just cover the good and the bad. This hotel is priced right if you want a good quality hotel right smack where you want to be in Laguna. It's centrally located so that you can walk to most restaurants and other attractions (like Main Beach) in a short while. If you prefer, there is a tram stop (North AND South) right in front of the hotel. The free tram runs most of the warm months and is a great way to get around. By some miracle I received an upgraded room (which was great) and this review is based on that (a King size, partial ocean view). The room was not much better than the room I previously had, except for the partial ocean view. The room is large and comfortable along with the bathroom. Unlike many of the budget Laguna Beach hotels, this hotel is full size. You won't get stuck with a tiny bathroom or a shrunken toilet that all but your kids can sit on. A word of warning for those looking for an ocean view, this hotel is on the north / east side of PCH, in other words you're on the STREET side of the ocean. With any view room here, you'll have a peek-a-boo view at best, the same view you would get on the roof top balcony. You will NOT be able to hear the ocean because of traffic noise. If you want something on the sand, I suggest you look elsewhere (you'll pay at least 1/3 more for the room). Parking is underground, plentiful and secure (at $15 a day). Large easy to navigate spots are widely available unlike many of the budget hotels in the area where you may have to double or triple park in one spot! Wi-Fi speeds are excellent for this hotel, good enough to stream movies. The free hot breakfast is just another plus. The bad for this hotel is not because the hotel is bad, just a bad design. The biggest flaw is that about ½ the rooms are inaccessible by the elevator. If you have small children or someone that is physically challenged, make sure you request a room with elevator access otherwise you will be climbing stairs. Almost all the 400 numbered rooms are located by stairs. The pool and Jacuzzi are located on the third level and both are heated. The Jacuzzi jets are weak at best and really need attention for it work like a real Jacuzzi. I think all the rooms have Jacuzzi tubs in them, but they can be very hard to navigate into or out of them. A quick note, many interior 400 numbered rooms have no access to the elevator. 300 numbered "view" rooms have the roof top deck directly above them and that can be noisy. 200 numbered are like ground level. There are pulses and minuses to all the rooms, only you know what you can tolerate. Overall, it's a clean, full sized hotel at an affordable price.

    « Comfortable »

Stayed 2 nights. Nice and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to beaches, dining and free shuttle. Very much enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was nice. We wanted to leave early and didn't have to waste time going out for breakfast. Thank you BW Laguna Brisas! Will stay with you again!

    « Great stay! »

We found everything to be great here -- nice, quiet rooftop pool and hot tub, clean room, helpful staff, good location (enough restaurants nearby, 5-min or less walk to beach). If you're into eating healthy or organic, the breakfast might not be for you, but it's free so I can't really complain. There were some nice cafés a few minutes away on foot. The Mozambique restaurant next door was great, as were Sergio's Empanadas and the Active Culture cafe and fro-yo place a 10-minute walk away. A 20-minute walk (just over a mile) to the center of town with more restaurants. We had a great stay!

« Quick getaway to the beach »

We are snowbirds over in Arizona, and came over for quick visit to Laguna area to see my uncle. We are from Seattle, and miss the ocean. So I immediately looked for something near the beach and a Best Western. We travel Best Western. Hotel afforded paid off street parking, which was important. Close to shops, restaurants, galleries and most importantly to beach. We had great room on 4th floor, good a/c, great beds, deep jacuzzi tub. The staff was very friendly and helpful in every aspect, very approachable to any questions. Good selection of items for breakfast

« Rude and Unaccommodating Staff »

My father and I spoke with the manager Kevin a couple of times. He has HORRIBLE customer service skills. He does not pay attention to detail, and messed up our reservation a number of times. The attitude that was displayed was unacceptable. He needs a few hotel management and customer services classes in order to get up to par with other people at the establishment. The original room we were placed in smelled horribly and was incredibly loud. At 3:45am the sprinklers came on and were hitting the window and it was directly on the street. Request NOT to be put in room 102 and request to work with someone like Karen, NOT Kevin. The sad thing is we were here for my sister's wedding and had a large room block. They are very unaccommodating. The wifi is also the worst I've ever experienced.

« Nice Quite Hotel in Laguna Beach CA »

The hotel staff very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is dated, but for a one night stay perfect. The hotel is walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shopping. The hotel is not a glamours resort and spa, but for a one night stay, it's perfect.

« Nice but not relaxing »

First, to be very fair, the staff, and room were excellent. No complaints there. I asked for an ocean view room, and they had the patio deck level available. The ocean is right in front. Perfect view. Please note...and important note...this is not on the beach side. S. Coast Hwy runs between. Although I was up 4 floors, and the ocean view was amazing, the traffic noise, horns, sirens were constant. It was difficult, to relax, enjoy the amazing deck, with that noise. Pros: Price is very reasonable Staff phenomenal Room Outstanding It was close to Mozambique, and if staying one night, absolutely worth it. If really wanting to relax (I did) pay more and stay on the beach side.

    « Don't get a room street side!!! »

The place is reasonably priced and conveniently located however it has a few downfalls : 1) street side rooms are very noisy even with the windows completely shut down. 2) The free breakfast is free because it is poor quality. The kitchen room is like a cheap caferia... Walk down to the local cafe and you can eat normal good food for less than ten dollars!! with quality coffee.. The pool and jacuzi is actually ok in this place...We went to Mozambique which is next door and it is really fun there.

    « customer service »

I came in tired after a long trip. Long story short I overheard the front desk manager kevin speak in great detail about a locals only restaurant with a decadent swordfish. He painted a brilliant picture of this cafe, so instead of just sleeping I went out and had the best night on the town because of him it was great. The hotel is close to everything and is significantly cheaper then anywhere else. Close to the beach but on route 1 so expect a bit of noise but that wasn't bad and definitely worth the stay. Thank you best western for a great experience!!!!

« worst stay during our 13 days California trip »

Been to BW several times but this one is very disappointing : sheets not changed and stain on the bedcover. Very dark room because of the configuration of the window. Very smelly since we cannot open the window unless everybody stares inside while passing by. A curtain instead of a closing door for the bathroom. No electric plug in the room but only in the bathroom. Heater stuck behind a table which makes it impossible to reach the settings. So noisy anyway that you don't want to turn it on... Not sound proof walls and we had to listen to our neighbors most of the night. A Motel 6 would have been cheaper : we paid 150 $ for the night. If you complain to the frontdesk, they will tell you that they are very sorry and this is the response they give to anybody complaining on tripadvisor, like a robot speaking. This hotel does a great damage to BW reputation and I will reconsider staying with this brand of hotels in the future

« They thought of everything. »

The staff is professional. The manager and everyone at this hotel made us feel welcome and looked after, during a very busy time of the year. We are most grateful for their hospitality and appreciate the attention to details. The room was clean and comfortable. The little store at the front desk had everything you might need in a pinch. This hotel has been here a long time but the property has updated decor and very comfortable beds and towels. Laguna Beach is a city where t-shirts can cost $85, so getting snacks at the front desk for a dollar felt like a special treat in this very expensive town. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

« Great location, clean, friendly staff »

It being on N Pacific Hwy was great, cause it's within half a mile walk of the nice little shops and trendy restaurants. The lady at the desk was super nice, although we only talked to her for a minute, her genuine attitude made a difference. She got us hot tea at night. Room was quite clean with a cute balcony for coffee in the morning.

    « Just right »

My sister and I got a deal to stay here for Christmas Eve- it was close to beach with views and a jacuzzi bath... Just right. Kevin Kinney is so kind and efficient- he gave a a double bed room upstairs even last min- my sis ended up booming a 2nd night least min for same discount price. The beds were comfortable and breakfast included was great. Walls are a bit thin so you can hear a lot of other guest activity but that's expected. Everything is closed by including stunning beaches coffee shops hair salons restaurants you name it this is a no-brainer if you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay in Laguna! Thank you.

We arrive a bit early and Dina help get us in early after a long drive from the bay area. We asked about local Happy hours and Food choices and pointed us out to several local places including The Mozambique Restaurant which was next door. « 1st Anniversary »

My husband and I wanted a short, easy getaway for our first anniversary. We searched for a hotel that was close to the water and not an outrageous price. We chose this hotel for its location and pricing. The only disappointment was that it was not on the south side of the street. The advertisement indicate 99 steps from the water. Well, it is a few more than that but easy access. We had a great stay. The staff was very kind and we ended up loving our location. The room is small but the bathroom was good size. The bed was very comfortable. We are tall people and we fit great. On Sunday we were able to catch the trolley right outside the hotel. Overall it was great and would book there again.

« Leisure stay after summer »

Great location near calm and serene setting. Uber and Taxi service at the location and beach service ameneties available to the guests. Great rates post summer time and easy access to local bars and eating establishments. The weather is nice and the people are awesome. Check in here and enjoy your rest and time off. The staff is helpful and parking is secure for all its guests. I live 10 miles away and stay here many times throughout the year for business and pleasure. The jacuzzi is a nice added feature and the in room amenities make the stay that much better. I give Las Brisas Best Western a ten plus and recommend you give it a try on your next visit.

    « Pleasant surprise »

Displaced by construction we looked for something nearby. One of those places you pass a hundred times and don't notice. (not looking for accommodations in our area) Dina at the front desk was very nice and informative. After we checked in I observed her being very helpful to an out of town guest. Nice room, off street parking (fee). Did not have time to visit the breakfast room. Will think of this fine establishment for a future visit.

« Best Western PLUS Laguna Brisas »

The PLUS in this hotel should be PLUS parking. One of the only hotels I have ever stayed at that charges you for parking to stay at their hotel. I guess they really do not want you to stay there and certainly would rather you not park there. Overall the room was comfortable, but if you are travelling on business make a note that you will not have a desk in the room to work at. This is more of a spa hotel and I guess they assume people coming to a spa do not want to write anything down or even check their email in comfort. It did have a huge tub, I guess it would have been nice to soak in it. The outside of the place is beautiful and will certainly lure you in, but the traffic from the street in front is extremely loud. Don't try and sleep in the day as that traffic is right outside the window. Luckily Laguna Beach rolls up the sidewalks at night so sleeping at night was not too bad aside from the occasional car horn. Overall I was displeased with the hotel. The rooms were clean and well decorated, as well as the lobby, but the hallways just struck me as old and worn down.

« Lovely well situated hotel in Laguna »

Had a very enjoyable stay in this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful. The hotel was very comfortable and the spa bath an added bonus. It was also very well situated for the beach, shops and restaurants with a free shuttle bus outside at the weekend.

« Hidden gem in Laguna Beach »

I've stayed at a few places at varying price ranges in Laguna Beach and this was truly a hidden gem. Great location and just walking now distance to the beach (literally 30 seconds). There is a free trolley that takes you down the road just in front and takes you to anywhere along the road. Tons of restaurants in the area too. I was checked in by a man who was very chilled and friendly. He gave me a complimentary upgrade to a corner room which had a jacuzzi and a nice balcony. I'm not sure if I can mention the rate but it was less than $150/ night. There hotel has a pool open till 10pm, free breakfast with a waffle machine and a huge sun deck on the roof. Free beach towels for when you got the beach. Room was very clean and has nice tvs. Bed was very comfortable with 4 pillows. A bit too hard for my liking but still excellent.

    « Enjoyed it »

Stayed here, on October 23, for one night. I must say, the staff was very friendly, the room was nice and very clean. Yes, it can be noisy, but you're on S Coast Hwy, there's a lot of car and foot traffic. Great thing is, everything you want, is walking distance, or there's a free trolley in the evening. It has great views, from the 3rd floor rooms and a roof top terrace. I will be staying here again, on my next trip, hopefully in December.

We have been travelling for many months continuing our extended road trip throughout the summer. Since we have family in this area we have made this hotel our home away from home and booked it 4 times in the past few months as we criss-crossed the country. Employees like Erin and Kevin treat us so well and make us welcomed back each time with appreciation. We will always stay at this charming property anytime we are in Southern California. Come and spend time there as we are certain you will enjoy it.

« Hidden Gem! Much better than you will expect to find. »

Walking distance to the beach and shopping. Easy under ground parking. Spa tubs in every room complete with bath salts. Comfortable bedding and outside sitting area for each room. The staff is so helpful. Breakfast is always top notch compared to other Best Westerns. They did recently add a $15.00 per day parking fee. Frustrating but almost expected considering it is Laguna Beach. You can avoid the parking fee by adding the Mozambique package on to your reservation when you arrive. That gives you free parking and a $50 gift card to the neighboring restaurant with a roof top dining room and the most amazing sunset view.

    « Just WOW!!!!!!! »

Where do I even start?!?!?! How about with Kevin... Arguably the most attentive, charismatic, thoughtful and fantastic hotel employee I have ever come across! With the beautiful and wonderful Erin by his side along with Dina and Mike this hotel has some of the best hospitality service in the business!!! We stayed here for an exceptional Laguna Beach Wedding, room 430 was even better than advertised, breakfast did not disappoint, wifi worked throughout the hotel as wifi should and even better than our stay was seeing our new favorite people in the hotel world every time we left or arrived to the hotel. This is how staying at a hotel should be! Clean, courteous and classy are just a few ways to describe this property. Can't say enough about these 4 special people and the hotel they represent :) My most sincere thanks for making wedding weekend as memorable as can be! These pictures were taken directly across the street from the BEST WESTERN PLUS Laguna Brisas Hotel. Enjoy your stay!!!

« Black Mold and Dirty AC »

If you are rightly concerned about black mold and dirty air conditioners, I would never stay at this hotel. After complaining about the situation, we were moved to another room. Lo and behold, we had the same problem in the second room. Also had a problem in both rooms where the bathroom doors did not latch, the locks worked but without latching they were useless.

    « Sufficient and average »

Two of my friends and I stayed in this hotel for a night for a girls' short weekend out. Overall, I rate this hotel with 3.7 out of 5. I will likely comeback to Laguna beach for holidays and I might consider staying in this hotel again because of the hospitality of the staff and it's convenient location. I'd like to try another hotel in the area for comparison. I rate the hotel with the following: Location/Accessibility (4/5) Rooms and Facilities (3/5) We had the room with 2 queen-sized beds with kitchen. Being used to European-sized hotel rooms, I find our room massive. It also has a balcony, which can be nice, but it is very close to the next room's balcony so there's really no privacy. The rooms are a bit outdated and the carpets are quite old. The hallway smell chlorine from the pool but I wasn't not bothered by it. There are complementary coffee and tea in the room but I was disappointed that there's no complementary bottle of water considering the rate of the room we paid for the night. Coffee and tea are also available at the reception lobby 24/7 (at least from what I understood). To say that I'm a frequent traveler is an understatement. I say this because I'm not kidding when I say it's one of the only two times I to encountered a hotel that only starts serving breakfast at 7:30 am. Maybe it's an American thing. Hotels always start serving breakfast at 6 am. So, I was slightly disappointed with that because if you plan to hiking at 7 am, then you have to find your breakfast some place else (Orange County has beautiful hiking trails that are perfect for early morning activity). They have parking but not for free, we paid USD 15. It wasn't a problem with us that they can allow one parking space per room but I could see how this can be inconvenient for a group with more than one car. Staff and Services (4.5/5) My favorite part of our stay in this hotel is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, most especially the reception staff. They were very accommodating to our requests. Security (4/5) Price (4.5/5) We paid USD 300+ for a night stay at this hotel. I see that the other rooms can be cheaper but for me, this room rate is too high for a 3-star hotel.

« A Gem on Pacific Coast Highway! »

I booked for one night based on reviews and ended up staying an extra night. Perfect location across the street from the beach. Kevin at the front desk oozes customer service eagerly helping two guests checking in at one time while answering a phone call. He is efficient and knowledgeable anticipating every need and providing local hidden treasures that we would not likely find on our own. I would have stayed longer if I could!! There is a great wine bar across the street...don't miss the fig and date with goat cheese bruchetta. YUMMM!!

« Really good place to stay »

All round good accommodation. Excellent and helpful reception staff. 20 Minute walk to centre but plenty good restaurants around the hotel. Nice pool. Breakfast fine. Road is bit noisy. Internet slow at times.

« For a one night stop after a busy day of travelling its a great stay »

The hotel was fairly easy to find but pretty far away from most amenities but did have a nice restaurant next door. It's a quaint looking hotel and the rooms are a bit dated, I thought it was fine and liked the way the hotel looked but could see some people having a problem with the way the rooms look. Was great for a our short stay tho, nice girl on check-in, bed was comfy, hotel was quiet and the spa bath in the room was amazing, it's huge!! The jets could be a bit more powerful but great to unwind in. A good hotel if you have ever wanted a jacuzzi bath but don't want to pay loads. Parking is under the hotel and they do charge a fee, not sure if there is surveillance but we felt our car was safe and it is all enclosed under there, you also need a hotel card to access the hotel from the parking garage. We however got our parking fee waived as compo as we did have a loud air con unit that did keep waking us up in the night. We told reception and the guy asked why we didn't report it in the night, I did not realise they had night handymen so obviously seems a good staffed hotel. Breakfast was simple just a few pastrys, make you own waffles and porridge. Wifi was great. All in all a good stay for what we paid.

« my stay at best western laguna beach »

Best Western at Laguna Beach is an outdated building, The rooms have an odor which is minimized some by running the air conditioner on high. All you need to do is take a walk on the second floor hallway.
