"Good hotel "
Ian H, 07 Septembre 2018

Very nice hotel the room very comfortable. The position of the property make it ideal to walk straight out on the Quayside. The car park is a real asset even at 12 Euro per day. The staff couldn't be more helpful and are a credit to the hotel . The rooftop pool is superb. Our only criticism is that the hotel other than breakfast has no bar or catering facilities. Not that this is much of a problem with the many restaurants within easy walking distance.

"Fabulous hotel that is extremely well located!"
carolynl688, 16 Août 2018

If you are staying in La Ciotat, you have to stay at this hotel! The staff is amazing, it is well located (fronts on the boardwalk of the port and close to shops and restaurants), recently constructed, offers secured parking and a rooftop pool. Our kids loved it but couples would too (private hot tub away from the pool). We highly recommend!

"Amazing place"
Niyaz A, 23 Juillet 2018

Great place to live, perfect location, the best breakfast and very friendly staff. You can walk almost everywhere, beautiful beaches, restaurants, get a boat trip from nearby, or even do some Kayaking. Highly recommended.

"Fantastic hotel "
Tyso_kitten, 26 Juin 2018

From the phone call pre arrival through to the goodbye every member of staff made the weekend special. Nice to have your name used and to be greeted at reception when walking through. The staff in the breakfast room were so lovely making fresh juices and helping with coffees. Will definitely return as it's perfect location for a break

"Two Night Stay"
AlexandraMelbourne, 16 Juin 2018

My favourite village is nearby which I visit almost yearly. However accommodation and parking in this particular village are appalling and hugely expensive. Small rental apartments offer inferior bedding,(small double bed, acrylic sheets and uncomfortable mattresses) especially for a long stay. So we chose the Best Western in La Ciotat. The closest comfortable hotel to that village. We were in room 311. A view was irrelevant for us. The room was very large with 2 wardrobes and a comfortable bed. The breakfast was ample and parking excellent.

"Very good business hotel by the port"
Goldschmied Z, 02 Juin 2018

We stayed for one night in the hotel because in Cassis the hotels were overpriced and had no parking facilities. The Best Western is a very comfortable hotel, including a rooftop pool, well maintained. The room we had was spacious and nicely designed. It did not have a view, but a comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom with separate WC room. The hotel is by the harbour and in walking distance to many restaurants. Parking is provided in a separate parking lot below the hotel. Not recommended for large cars as the parking lots are quite narrow. The personnel was very helpful and very friendly. We enjoyed staying here very much.

"Couldn't have been nicer."
Antonella_10, 17 Mai 2018

This hotel was a real gem. What I'm finding strange is that it is classed as a three star hotel. We have stayed in many four star hotels across France which don't come anywhere near the high standards of the B W Premier Vieux Port in La Ciotat. Everything about our stay here was first class, from the attentive staff, to the excellent and varied breakfast to the very spacious and spotlessly clean room overlooking the harbour. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that our car was looked after in the hotel's large underground private car park (important criteria for me!).

"Great Hotel with fantastic view on the "vieux port""
Reto B, 03 Avril 2018

We made a fantastic Hotel experience at the Best Western Premier Vieux Port in Le Ciotat. We had a very nice room (N° 308) with big balcony and view on the lovely port. The Hotel has great facilities on the 5th floor, Jacuzzi, Hamman, swimming pool and Terrasse with spectacular view. Delicious breakfast was included and Hotel Manager Julie did even offer us 3 free invitation for the Nauticals. The parking was very practical with direct access lift to Hotel room. We certainly come back !!

"Amazing staff"
Anita d, 20 Février 2018

Had a great stay at this hotel. Lovely rooftop swimming pool which we used both days we were there (2 night stay). There were some bushfires going on when we were there and staff kept us informed. We nearly missed our train to marseille because we weren't able to get a taxi to the train station. With only 15min to go, the porter jumped in his car and offered us a lift to the train station! He initially thought we had a connection in marseille so offered to drive us there (which was really nice of him) but luckily this wasn't necessary. Thank you again for your amazing care! We will be back.

"Great hotel and friendly staff "
Lorna-Joelle, 20 Décembre 2017

Stayed 4 days in Best Western Vieux Port. Location is great, friendly staff and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is a small one, the rooms are clean. Ask for the rooms with a view on Port, it is spectacular in the sunset.

"Good hotel"
ianc2004, 10 Novembre 2017

Great rooms and very nice staff. Only thing that lets it down is quality of breakfast. Good not too good in quality and limited selection for price charged for breakfast. If hotel improves breakfast then it would be superb as all other aspects of hotel are good. Great comfortable beds in rooms

"Stunning panoramic rooftop views!"
Neil6875, 20 Septembre 2017

Welcoming friendly staff, large clean rooms with all facilities. Rooftop terrace, infinity pool, with fantastic views of the harbour and surrounding area.Plenty of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. Good friendly atmosphere, would highly recommend this hotel.

"More like a good 4* hotel, a real winner"
Sue G, 11 Septembre 2017

Modern, welcoming and in a fab location. We had an executive room which was really good. Nice modern bathroom, spacious, large flat screen TV - what's not to like it came as a really pleasant surprise. Parking easy, pool fab but management PLEASE water the poor pot plants up there.

"Horrendous customer service. Overpowering air freshner"
Travelhippie33, 02 Septembre 2017

As soon as we opened the door the strong smell of synthetic air freshener hits your lungs like a ton of bricks. I commented on it and was told they are all the same. After three hours with the windows overlooking an ugly parking lot left wide open my eyes were watering and my throat was sore. We told the front desk and they refused to do anything. We had no choice but to check out. It was a health hazard and by that time the outside was very noisy so we would have had to close the window and I could have been very sick. Very poor service. Would not recommend

"Excellent "
BeachGirlUK, 13 Août 2017

Friendly professional staff, squeaky clean. Bright clean modern room fantastic balcony and view over the harbour. Great bathroom and shower. Large comfortable bed with lovely sheets, Tea coffee in room. Nice clean pool on the roof with great views and plenty of sun loungers with various sunbathing areas in the roof. Walk straight out of hotel into restaurants, bars, shops, nice atmosphere, night market to wander around, not noisy T all when back in the room. We had breakfast in a little bakery nearby. Parking under hotel very secure Good location for exploring the area.

"Harbourside with a view"
ISj, 19 Juillet 2017

Best Best Western ever!! Fantastic location in the harbor. We had a room with balcony and a sea view– just fantastic. The welcome was superb, the breakfast very good and the room big with coffee making facilities and good AC. The best of all was the rooftop pool (and Jacuzzi ) – fabulous view over the town and harbor. The hotel also has a garage – extra payment though. Highly recommended.

"Spacious Rooms and a great Rooftop Pool"
jwilsonparis, 09 Juillet 2017

For our one night discovery of La Ciotat we stayed at this hotel right on the old port. Although the only room left was the cheapest one they offered, it was surprisingly spacious and the breakfast buffet was copious, with waffles, meats, cheeses, etc. The biggest highlight, however, was the rooftop pool, with the "infinity pool" edge dropping off on a great view of the entire harbor. Magaly, the friendly desk clerk, recommended a small family-run restaurant, L'Oustaou, for a late night meal; it ended up being one of our favourite dining experiences.

"Recouperation"
stevenwG1966AQ, 08 Juillet 2017

Disappointing and misleading. The Hotel claims to be 100% smoke free but as we quickly discovered smoking happens at breakfast on the terrace; on the sun roof and as the staff informed me even on the balcony of the non smoking rooms. The Hotel also had bar and restaurant listed but these were closed The room promised a music system and bathrobes - neither of which were available. I was surprised that the toiletries were bolted to the room like a travelodge when I understood I had an upgraded room. Some days it took until late afternoon before housekeeping finished servicing the room and everyday mistakes were made in refilling the minibar or the tea/ coffee tray. The rooftop pool and hot tub were quite splendid but unfortunately the native French guests all chose to disregard signs requesting showering before use so use was restricted to if you were happy to share with sweaty stinking arrogant guests using the water to cool off. Further rooftop facility disappointment was the sauna was out of order and the steam room was either off or the door had been left open resulting in no steam. I cannot understand how this is classified as a Premier Hotel. The location is fine but I cannot recommend this Hotel from any perspective.

"Warm friendly welcome as usual!"
James V C, 25 Juin 2017

I've stayed in this friendly and welcoming hotel for week long business trips probably a dozen times and always enjoy my stays. Staff are constintally professional and always greet me at days end with a warm friendly smile. Facilities are friendly to business people and vacationers alike. Centrally located on the bay, you can walk to seaside resturaunts and bars. I can't wait to return!

"Excellent "
Helen_Mandelieu, 20 Mai 2017

We stayed here for one night and had a very comfortable stay. The room was modern and spacious with a big very comfy bed. The only thing lacking was not enough towels, no hand towels or face cloths. Perfect location on the port. Very reasonably priced as well.

"Fabulous Hotel"
sofrance, 17 Mai 2017

Fabulous hotel. Stay in one of the rooms overlooking the harbour. Staff fantastic. Could do with some shade on roof terrace and comfy chairs on balcony. Short walk to bars restraints, public transport and beach.

"Best Western La Ciotat"
Andrey V, 15 Mai 2017

You get what you pay for: decent hotel with clean rooms, central location in La Ciotat. Pleasant and helpful staff at reception. Was a bit surprised to be charged for parking and the parking was slightly inconvenient (you had to drive around as parking at the back of the hotel and a steep exit from the parking / garage)

"Great place to stay in La Ciotat, don't miss the rooftop spa"
clauxmoi, 14 Mai 2017

Centrally located close to the old town and the calanques (remote beaches). If you are after the main beaches, look at hotels on the other side of town. Room was spacious, will all amenities amd a big flat screen TV. Bed was the kind that folds up against the wall but was comfortable. Great service, very pleasant staff. The rooftop is what sets this place apart, boasting a pool, steam room, sauna, and hot tub with views of the marina, old town and neighbouring mountains. Parking is available which is very convenient in this part of town, but we were surprised to be charged an extra 12€ per day for it on top of the room rate (note that we were given the opportunity to use the carpark even after we had checked out which was great).

"Walk in cheaper?"
TheBirdWhoToldYou, 12 Mai 2017

Pretty nice place. I can see why it is rated the best here. Spa on the roof is perfect. One thing I noticed at reception is a sign stating the rates are €99 per night for the cheapest room. Some aggregate sites are much higher than this so maybe call the place if you can beat that online. Parking downstairs is perfect. Not sure why so many are complaining about tight spots. There are some doubles without pillars if it bothers you. Enjoy!

"Above expectations "
joel0110, 05 Mai 2017

I'm usually not a fan of mid class chain hotels, but I must say this one was much above what I excepted. Beginning of May is still not the high season, but we had a good price and on the top of it we have been upgraded without asking anything. The room is spacious and well designed with exceptional view on the port and surrounding landscape. We appreciated also the sauna and jacuzzi on the roof. Although it wasn't planned we decided to stay for a second night. Marion at the reception was very welcoming, client oriented (rarely the case in France) and she is also the person who arranged everything to make us so happy.

"Harbourside location, perhaps a little overpriced"
dinahb, 02 Mai 2017

We stayed one night. The location is really great, central, right by harbour, some rooms have harbour view, but these may get a bit of street noise. It was comfortable and clean though expensive for what it is, we thought. For 175 euros for one night I would expect better than a soap dispenser fixed to the wall, which was empty anyway! Our bathroom had a window on to the bedroom, so don't go with someone you don't know very well! There is secure parking, bit awkward to get to, I advise getting directions before you arrive as it is difficult to stop outside the front of the hotel. For breakfast, there are lots of waterfront cafes if you don't want to pay the hotel's price.

"Nice hotel lovely view"
spartacoops, 10 Mars 2017

Thus is a very nice hotel. There doesn't appear to many in the town. My room overlooked the port and had a nice balcony with a table to sit and enjoy the view. The room was large as was the bed and TV. Very nice bathroom well equipped. Breakfast was continental style but a very large selection of everything you would need. It had its own parking which is accessed from the rear. You have to go round the block and press the button for access. Once you are in you have to go down another level for the hotel spaces. The ground floor spaces are for the apartment block at the back. There are lots of cafe & restaurants around the port. Mostly pizza but a few higher quality fish restaurants. There is even an Irish bar. Although one Guinness pump was the only thing that made it Irish. I would go back.

"Beautiful Location"
Matthew L, 15 Février 2017

Hotel has simply great. The Best Western ensures a certain level of service with the addition of local flare . The parking garage is in the back of the building in the parking garage. Hit the buzzer and they will let you in, then proceed to follow best western signs to another buzzer and gate a few levels down. Try to get a view of the water. The deep channel allows world renown yachts to enter for service. The town is beautiful, I hope to return in the summer. Service is exceptional but checkout is quite manual so be careful if you have time constraints, the checkout line can grow and take some time.

"Well Run Hotel "
GLWH, 02 Janvier 2017

Spent New Year's Eve at the hotel to allow us to visit friends in La Ciotat, we found the hotel fit our needs very well. It is easy to find, follow the directions to the Vieux Port, and it is near the end of the road. Check in was managed very well -- the desk staff was sharp and on top of things -- easily conversational in english and french (we speak both). Parking is easy -- and that is a big plus in a seaside town. Do pay for the hotel parking and use it !! It's will make life a lot easier. We had selected a slightly larger room with a view of the port -- really a good choice for the extra E20 or so. The room was modern, large by anyone's standards, and had all the desired extras including a Nespresso machine. The veranda and view were outstanding. The bed and bath were top notch. On New Years Day, we found the entire team very friendly --- the cleaning lady on the floor helped us out with some extra Nespresso capsules, and the front desk staff had an outstanding suggestion on navigating a fun route over the hill to Cassis (do take Routes des Crêtes). Over all this hotel deserves its top rating -- well run at a reasonable price -- nothing but nice things to say about it!

"BUSINESS TRIP"
balay29, 07 Décembre 2016

well for once, a business hotel was pleasant and gave us a flavor of vacations ; hotel is right on the water , with outstanding view on luxury yachts ; drawback is that i guess it can be very Noisy in summer time with everyone outside, late at night and ealry in the morning ; the garbage truck came at 5.30 AM ! quite good for 3 stars , small lobby , then there is a roof top with seats, pool and jaccuzzi which must be great even in spring and autumn ; bedroom is big, well furnished and decorated ; bathroom with shower and bath and separated toilets ; good lights ; bed confortable ; balcony overlooking the harbor with table and chairs ; breakfast buffet simple but good ; good value for money althoghu i guess it might be more expensive in summer ;

"Great hotel, but a little pricey??"
RG-B19, 17 Novembre 2016

I was pointed in the direction of the Best Western by a couple of colleagues who use this particular hotel on a regular basis. First impressions were excellent, the staff were welcoming, spoke perfect English which with my enthusiastic boyhood French was a distinct plus! The room was immaculate, if a little strange in design, but I suppose having a window from the shower room does at least let you watch the great size television in the bedroom. And I am not sure if hotel owners worldwide are reading my reviews, but yet again I found a shower head high enough to stand under! My room had its own small balcony, with a great view of the harbour, but with the noise from the street, perhaps slightly stronger double glazing would have led to a better nights sleep, especially when the local council started to resurface the roads during the 3rd night of my stay. Breakfast was excellent, perfect for my needs, but I was a little disappointed not to find a bar or lounge within the hotel. But i guess space is probably an issue, and there is no shortage of these in the harbour area. All in all, a pretty good place, but just a teeny bit too pricey for 5 stars.

"No complaints!"
SG2S, 02 Octobre 2016

After a little research,we opted for a 3 night stay in the last week of September. Our room was spacious & comfortable. The infinity, roof top pool & panoramic views were good too.La Ciotat is also an interesting place ,with a bar,at a rough count, that offers approximately 100 beers from around the world. The service we received from all the staff was of a good standard.

"Almost Perfect"
ang578, 27 Septembre 2016

The swimming pool, Jacuzzi & sauna really almost makes this Hotel a decent place to stay in Ciotat. Very modern........perfect almost there ....... .........but on checking in after spending the day on the beach we was told the room wasn't ready (5.00pm)......bit late nether mind then we was giving a room in the next block with three flights of stairs with our baggage (no lift). We complained at reception about the stairs & was given another room that was ready after being told the the hotel was full....we think the hotel was certainly lying to us....and trying to give us the crappiest room. Breakfast although we didn't try because of the price looked mainly for Business people, and the floor in our room was filthy ...........we had to wear flip flops. A Hotel that charges £120 a night should up its game a bit

"Special"
matulich, 24 Septembre 2016

Immaculate, modern, ABOVE expectations! This, like the last PREMIER Best Western, is a cut above. It is located on a beautiful port, with charming nearby villages. Some non-view rooms have nice balconies w/ 2 chairs and a small table. Port-facing rooms with a balcony have a magnificent view and are quite large. Ours had a terrace with two chaise lounge chairs, a small table, and two deck chairs. There is an infinity pool on the top (5th) floor, a slightly lower very large deck, with appropriate seating, and a hot tub. Staff were great, especially Clementine. She deserves a raise.

"Great hotel"
ianc2004, 23 Septembre 2016

A lovely location at the marina. With very welcoming and helpful staff. Rooms are very modern and have everything you need in a hotel room. Location to restaurants and local bars is ideal. Breakfast buffet is pretty reasonable for France and it has good coffee available. An ideal place to stay if in La Ciotat.

"Solid 3 star with some flaws"
Matty M, 23 Août 2016

The best western premier Vieux port was easy to get too, With easy parking. The rooms were modern and neat with woven plastic floors. However I booked this hotel because of the gym, boy was I disappointed. There are no towels and not much equipment, nor any exercise mats to do stretches etc don't book it if you want a gym. For the price I paid I would expect more....

"Good location in old port"
AzerB, 21 Août 2016

Great location in the old part of town. New, modern building, with (paid 12 eu / night) parking on premises which is a huge bonus. Underground parking entrence is from the back street, not at front. There is a small pool on the roof which is nice alternative if you don't want to go to one of the beaches Rooms are nice, modern, with balconies. The room doors are bit odd, really need to push hard to open The area is nice but the restaurants in the port area are rather bad to foul & staff can't really recommend a place. The boat trips to the calanques start from the port so it is nice to be so close to them. A good location to see the area.

"Water view without the high price!"
Davanh P, 18 Juillet 2016

Great hotel right on the edge of the port. Getting to it from the main road by car was a bit troublesome as the roads are quite small. Nicely appointed rooms with all the basic essentials. Car parking available for a nominal fee. Roof top pool offered fantastic view of the Mediterranean, great place to relax. Restaurants nearby offer typical but yummy French food.

"Love it here "
Snecko, 03 Juillet 2016

We upgraded to a port view room, which was well worth the extra money. This hotel has a wonderful roof top pool and terrace. Such a lovely place to relax. We would thoroughly recommend it. The staff are very helpful. To dine there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. We love Pizzeria De La Garde. Also love Bene a few steps away in the port.

"First time for everything"
Paul H, 03 Juin 2016

Checkin was later so we hoped to park and have a wander . So having parked in a slot " Reserved Premier etc went in told them but this was a staff parking area though how you would know escapes me , so down into the so called secure car park which like most French car pars is a nightmare for anything bigger than a 2CV. On checking in asked why when the Best Western said " Cut out the middle man their rates are cheapest " why was it cheaper on Booking.Com only to be told I should have phoned for the best rate not good if you are member of their rewards club.So later got to a very nice cleanroom but noises from the building work outside which I hoped would stop later ,it did 2 hours later. Then as the A/C was not working told reception who said " They had to switch it on first". Now that's original. The night is now no longer young as I listen to the thump thump of a local dance competition. I wonder what time the builders start ??

"Fifty Yard Line Location"
ulysses4, 01 Mai 2016

With a wonderful center of the harbor location, quality rooms at a fair price, and a pleasant staff, the Vieux Port exemplifies Best Western's strong points. Rather than a chain, these are independent hotels with character, a common marketing strategy, and a uniformly high standard of maintenance and cleanliness. We have stayed at three or four dozen Best Westerns in 8-10 countries and have never been disappointed. The underground parking garage is both welcome and a bit claustrophobic. Getting there by back streets and at least three gates is a bit tedious. The parking spaces are very small, indeed precarious. With narrow concrete walls between them-you had better have a small car and superb driving skills. It is a Rubik's Cube of a lay out. Don't venture down there with a SUV or a large sedan unless your name is Houdini. The hotel's breakfast buffet has high points and low points. By 9:30 the eggs and stewed tomatoes have been on the steam table far too long. Stick with the breads, fruits and cheese and save the cooked stuff for when there is a cook in sight. This is a three star hotel with some four star characteristics. The giant flat screen television in our room-with CNN International and BBC as well as the usual French channels, was a nice plus. Like the city it sits in, the hotel provides good value and some scrappy advantages. I'm sure the rooftop pool is a big asset, but not in April. Very attractive bathroom. Wish there was more water pressure and more hot water in the shower.

"Another time here, always a good experience"
ClaOxt, 28 Février 2016

The hotel is just on the old port of La Ciotat, with a beautiful view, but at the same time easily reachable by car and with a large parking (even if it is not so easy to access... intercom and two gates...) Rooms are large, well equipped, clean, silent, beds are very comfortable. Strongly advisable a room on the port side, possibly 3rd or 4th floor. Breakfast has a good choice and good quality, and also from the breakfast room there is a nice view of the port

"F1 Tyre Test 2016 trip"
Scott W, 12 Février 2016

The hotel is very nice, perfectly situated in the town centre right on the harbour, there is secure underground parking and easy access. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms are huge, great facilities and very comfortable. Because of the location there are plenty of places to go to eat and drink and then have a nice walk along the harbour path. Highly recommended.

"Quirky but with great views"
IanGH, 19 Décembre 2015

The hotel is located at the South-West corner of the harbour on Quay François Mitterrand. This is a one-way street from north to south. It has an underground car park. Rooms overlooking the harbour at the front are very pleasant, with enclosed balconies. There are glass walls between the bathroom and bedroom and separate toilets, which is a little quirky. The rooms are well equipped and maintained. The breakfast room is across the yard from the main hotel, while the restaurant is adjacent on the other side with a separate front entrance. The staff are helpful and friendly. Free WiFi is available but it is slow at times.

"Great hotel overlooking the port"
David H, 29 Novembre 2015

Very nice hotel, pleasant staff, wonderful comfortable clean rooms and great breakfast. Right in the old port, with nice view of the harbour and easy walking to any number of restaurants - very nice oysters.

"Great place to stay"
Rory M, 14 Novembre 2015

Nice hotel in a perfect location. Very helpfull staff! Try to book a room that over looks the port (and remember to actually make the booking). Last time I stayed, had a big comfy room with view over the old port, absolutely beautiful at dawn if you are awake then. Location is central and easy for the shipyards around the corner! Good breakfast and convenient safe parking. Will always try to stay here when I'm in the area! Special thanks to Lucie and her collegue for sorting out my last stay!

"Modern and clean"
simsbsims, 08 Novembre 2015

Had a three night stay here at the end of October. A nice spacious room that was very clean and nicely appointed. Only a shower in the bathroom but it was a very good shower so no concern for me. Breakfast in the morning was very good with a wide selection of good quality items. I had an early "express breakfast" one morning and that was a bit too minimalist for my liking and needs!

"Great hotel"
Shady S, 04 Novembre 2015

The location is amazing, on the port, you can see all boats in front of you, a lot of small restaurants near the hotel with tasty food, there's a swimming pool & Jacuzzi on the roof, breakfast was delicious, the staff at reception are nice & helpful, they do what they can to make you happy, I really enjoyed my stay there.

"Nice Stay"
LP796, 31 Octobre 2015

Great hotel only criticism; it is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The swimming pool on the roof is lovely, the beds comfortable and spacious, I took the junior suite with a balcony over looking the port, was a lovely view to wake up to.

"nice room, but nothing special"
rbrisland1986, 15 Octobre 2015

the room I had (220) was a pleasant room, and great for only spending the evenings there. the re was a window between the bedroom and the shower room? which was a little weird, must be a French thing. the breakfasts are ok. not a huge selection, and its the same all week. but as I said, its fit for purpose. the gym isn't a gym either, its a rowing machine and a cross trainer on the roof.

"Great facilities and location in La Ciotat"
LinaMarican, 12 Octobre 2015

My husband and I stayed in this hotel while he attended a training for business. I really enjoyed this hotel as it was walking distance to the old town and all the sights in La Ciotat. It sits right on the port and we could see the beautiful sunrise every morning over breakfast. We enjoyed the facilities; especially the hot tub which overlooks the port with the village in the back. The facilities and room are definitely better than the Park Suites which is just behind Best Western.

"Great Stay"
BabciH, 12 Octobre 2015

We had trouble getting to it despite the GPS but it was well worth it. Beautiful location on the harbor with convenient walking access to the restaurants & shops in the area. The room was lovely, the staff friendly, everything worked. No doubt we'd stay again.

"The best place to go for your holidays !"
Elliot B, 11 Octobre 2015

The staff was very welcoming. The room were really clean and spacious. We have made the most of all the advantages of this hotel such as the SPA, the pool, the balcony in front of the sea and so on... I would definitely recommend this hotel !

"Modern Hotel right on the port"
Rosemary M, 04 Octobre 2015

We had a lovely jr. Suite (308) with a great view over the port. It had a wonderful balcony so you could sit outside and enjoy the view. Everything had been refurbished and had excellent amenities. The room was large, light and airy. The bathroom was very nice and all new. Staff were very helpful. La Ciotat is a lovely town and is close to many other towns such as Cassis to visit. Would highly recommend this hotel.

"Excellent hotel that has improved over the years"
martin m, 02 Octobre 2015

I stayed here one night for business. The hotel is situated right on the old port in the center of town. The room I got had been recently refurbished to a high standard, with a durable but comfortable flooring. The WC was separate from the bathroom which was brand new. The furniture is new in natural wood tones. The best thing was breakfast which includes plenty of healthy options such as fresh melon and pineapple. The only negative is the car park in which the spaces are quite narrow with supporting columns....probably not very easy for anyone used to parking in North America.

"High quality rooms"
RASHFORD740, 26 Septembre 2015

We took a room at the back, as it was so much less expensive. We had no complaints about it, as the furnishing was new, and the room was clean and very quiet. We ate dinner at the adjacent restaurant, which is part of the hotel building, and the set menu was very good and great value. The staff were very professional and pleasant.

"Impressed !"

Perfectly located in the heart of the town beside the port, this seemed to be a new (or very well maintained) and clean hotel. We had a room on the first floor overlooking the port. The room was spacious and had some nice features (mini bar, bluetooth music speaker, air con etc). I enjoyed the rooftop pool and sun deck with its beautiful views. I thought the hotel lacked a central bar for guest to gather around and create some buzz (there was a bar/cafe attached and I'm not sure if that was owned by the hotel or somebody else in any event if wasn't always open). The only downside was that on the Thursday night/Friday morning between 03:30-04:30 the was a lot of noise from a local nightclub. During the day La Ciotat had lots of police on bikes and in cars circulating around (with nothing happening) but when they were needed there was no sign of them .... quelle suprise !

""Great hotel in a beautiful city""
paquitin, 20 Septembre 2015

Room 303 was perfect and over look the harbour of La Ciotat, a very friendly city in the south part of France. The hotel is very good, clean and comfortable. The service was excelent and make you feel nice. I found the parking very stressful and complicated. The breakfast was super compleated and nice. The rooms were clean and have everything you need to be relax. The front desk service was super helpful and friendly. The hotel is well located ina small harbour village with allot of places for eat, shopping, and many more. Give it a tray, you won't regret.

"Enjoyable stay"

Found this a very good choice for visiting Cassis and surrounding area. Found La Ciotat less touristy/busy than Cassis and this hotel was a very good choice. The Best Western Vieux Port is relatively new and conveniently located by the port, staff is professional and friendly. While rooms are not huge and the window from bathroom to bedroom is somewhat unconventional, overall thought room was comfortable and balcony overlooking the port was very nice. Breakfast is rather on the expensive side, however it offers a broad selection, additionally there are other alternatives close to the hotel. While parking may take a bit to figure out the first time around and has an additional cost, did not find this to be a major inconvenience once location and process was understood. Finally, infinity pool and jacuzzi in the terrace are very nice, view from there is fantastic!

"What's not to like?"
KathAcres, 10 Septembre 2015

This Best Western was an oasis of cool clean white sheets and space. Room 308 was roomy with a lovely Port view from the balcony. I liked the glass window from the bathroom in to the bedroom and beyond to the port. Parking was stressful (there is a market on Sundays that means the road outside the hotel is closed). There are a few free parking spaces (6) outside the car park but I strongly suggest you ask for access details to the paid (12 euro) secure car park before you arrive (it's quite complicated and tight parking once you are in). We had the hotel breakfast for 15 euro and it was worth it I think. So many gadgets to play with that would take up too much space in the kitchen at home. The orange juicer, the waffle maker, the egg boiler, the veg juicer, the coffee machine you could feed 3 pouches at a time in to. Nice fresh /ripe fruit too. Pool on top was lovely (but cold i gather). Hot Tub great though. Defunct cranes from the ship building era are iconic and beautiful. Google Charlie Vivra images to see.

"Great hotel eventhough it's a chain"
Pollie1, 03 Septembre 2015

We don't usually like to stay in chain hotels, we would rather choose a small boutique hotel, but this one was great. Our room over looked the harbour and this is the sort of room I would suggest. We had the last of the real hot summer sun and it was so great to open the opens right back, so if you stay don't just open the patio door, pull it back again and you get a double opening so the balcony becomes part of the room. The room as also suitably shaded from the sun, so it isn't too hot, but the air con worked great so it was a little haven from the heat of the day. The bathroom set up is a little strange !!! You do have a separate toilet which I always prefer so that was great. But the sink and shower as in a room that has a window into the bedroom area and the harbour beyond !! I don't think anyone can really see in, but if you are bothered don't pull across the heavy curtain on the patio windows, the net curtain will suffice. The bathroom streams up enough to cover your blushes once you put the shower on too and the shower itself has a small wall to the side, so your fellow room occupant can't actually see you washing your bits !! I found the hair dryer to be use nor ornament if I am honest, as the cord is a spiral and very short, and so I couldn't really move it enough to dry my hair, so I used my own hairdryer I brought with me. The bed is lovely and comfortable and sits on a slight angle. It also has a weird headrest that is great to sit up in bed with, difficult to explain, but really good. Plenty of places for all your bits and bobs and the wardrobe has lights in it. The parking is fine once you do it once. It's simply a key pad on the first gate (which is open) but it opens the next gate which is shut, then the third gate you use the intercom and just say your name and they beep you in. The lifts goes right from the car park and it is all really really secure, as you also have to have a card key (for your room) that allows you to go down to the car park floor. So no one is going to get in there that isn't staying there. We never had the breakfast as it was a little too expensive, when you can go next door and get breakfast for 5.50 euro's each, and there are lots of places that do breakfast, so I would give it a go. All in all and enjoyable stay, great value and we would certainly stay there again.

"Enjoyable stay"
D3mure, 24 Août 2015

Enjoyed a lovely short break with my 10 year old daughter. Hotel is well positioned for restaurants bars and the night market which my daughter loved. Its modern clean and the pool area is superb with reasonable sized pool hot tub sauna and gym The parque de mugel, green island are both beautiful and well worth a trip although the water in the calanques is very cold! The only draw back are the large cranes and industrial buildings which blight the landscape a little but this did not stop uus having a fab time.

"Lovely hotel"
Frances S, 23 Août 2015

Really pleasant stay with room overlooking harbour. Nothing not to like. Very comfortable room and excellent facilities. Great pool and steam room on roof. Great location as adjacent to port with all its restaurants and bars. Will be back. Staff were extremely helpful.

"Best Quality and Price in the South"
Nick C, 13 Août 2015

This is a relatively new property in the area. It is very well located on the old port of this flourishing French coastal village. The surrounding area is blessed with beaches, a few choice restaurants, the breathtaking Route des Cretes, hiking biking, relaxing, and vineyards! The hotel is a modern, but charming, a haven in this region. The Junior Suites are well-sized with a great balcony to view the old port with its occasional megayacht on the dock. The staff are charming and helpful. The rooms clean and new. The upper floor has a few good pieces of equipment, a hammam and a sauna. In warmer months, the top floor infinity pool is a great asset. We loved the hotel, and, the town.

"Great extended weekend"
katih2015, 28 Juillet 2015

We decided to visit La Ciotat by last minute without any hotel reservations. We found this hotel by accident in the best spot of this charming little town. We got a very nice room junior suite with lovely sea view with very good rate. We were very pleased with the service, with the pool area, room & location. The breakfast was ok, it could have been better! We warmly recommend this hotel to everyone! Make sure you get a room with the sea view. Then your stay will be worth of every penny ;)

"Great location, good service."
lighte, 19 Juillet 2015

The restaurant is right by the pier, which is a great location near the centre of the town. Restaurants, cafes, pharmacies, magazine stores, and so on, are within walking distance, and you are right on the beach. Rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant is decent. Service is pretty good. The only difficulty is getting into the car park, which is two levels below the street level. You need to talk through an intercom to ask the receptionist to open the door, and they're away at times and you may have to wait a while and try again.

"Best Hotel in La Ciotat"
43tania, 18 Mars 2015

As a picky American, this hotel is great. The bed is extremely comfortable, clean room, great location, great staff. Rooms are small, but doable. Staff speak English. There is a small steam room, rooftop pool, restaurants, shops nearby. The bathrooms are updated and modern. In the summer, it maybe a little louder because the streets are full of people below. We stayed 4th floor junior suite but in March. Junior suit good for 2 people. Its not like an American junior suite. But a very nice hotel.

"Comfort after standing for 5 hours on SNCF train due to strike"
SurreyNavigator, 24 Juin 2014

Arrived totally exhausted after 14 hour journey from Ebbsfleet. Relaxed immediately. Air conditioning very effective and necessary. Whole hotel excellently fitted out and in superb position. Only niggle was scrambled egg at breakfast which resembled egg soup !! Will definitely return.
