"Excellent Experience at Brittany Best Western."
kazandjian2018, 03 Septembre 2018

I was pleasantly surprised at how uneventful and smooth my stay was at the La Baule Brittany Best Western. The staff was very courteous. The hotel and my room were very Clean! In fact the shower was cleaner than I have ever seen anywhere else. The shower floor was bright white it was spotless! The only problem was the weak water pressure.

"Nice little hotel near the beach"
averell23, 05 Septembre 2016

We went here for a weekend and found the hotel to be a really charming place. A word in advance. It's in an older building, nicely renovated to a "beach" feeling - the rooms almost feel like staying with family. Installations are pretty new, and though the room wasn't huge everything was nicely done. Unfortunately we didn't stay long enough to really enjoy the rooftop terrace. Staff was really nice all around, breakfast buffet was nice; though not too fancy. A word of warning, though: The quaint charm comes with staircases only - no elevators. And although the place only has 3 stories and staff may help you with the luggage, this still means the hotel isn't accessible to those who can't climb stairs. The beach is literally around the corner - while the hotel is in the second row, we felt that it was much nicer than the concrete places at the beachfront. Obviously you come here to go to the sea - they even have quite nice restaurants on the beach. The town has a small "shopping" street were you can sit and grab some galette, but that's about it. Wireless Internet is provided (though Best Wester seems to do their best to make it really painful to log on to it...) They don't have their own parking, but it should be possible to find something in the streets around the hotel.

"Nice hotel, great location"
keithjudson, 21 Juillet 2016

I would recommend this hotel if staying in La Boule. 50m from beach and a 5 minute walk to plenty of bars and restaurants. Nice roof terrace for sunbathing and you can take drinks up from the ground floor bar. The hotel allows dogs although the beaches don't.

"Excellent location, great style and charm!"

What a great location to be at La Baule! The hotel is 1 block from the +/-10km, biggest beach of France! Also it is 2 blocks from the charmness of Avenue Colonel du Gaule- restaurants and shops! We had never heard of this "cutie and chic" seaside city of La Baule until we decided to explore France beyond Paris! What a great surprise! The hotel resembles a 1930's house full of charm! The bedroom which we stayed in is small and tight but clean and comfortable! Breakfast is very French style and good! The staff are friendly but, although they claim it is a "English spoken" hotel, it is not! They barely can communicate in English! Which is true all over the town! If you have a hard time making "sign language", smiling, letting go of communication, this city is not for you! It is in France and they speak French. Just relax and enjoy the place!

"Quaint and Caring Hotel in La Baule"

Wonderful stay in a quaint town on the coast. The hotel is in an excellent location just one block from the beach. Quiet for the most part and enjoyable, We really liked the old world charm of this hotel

"Lovely hotel in a lovely location"
Jonners H, 04 Mars 2016

This is a relatively small hotel by Best Western standards but the style and location are what it's all about. The only issue is the lack of private parking as you have to try and find a space on the side streets which is relatively easy at evening time but much harder during the day when the beach-goers take up all the spaces, my advice is if you get a space then keep hold of it! The good news is that once parked up everything is within easy walking distance, including the mile long sandy beach which is what La Baule is famous for. When I booked our room I tried to book a sea-view room but was unable at the time of booking, I therefore emailed the hotel directly and received a very nice reply confirming that they could accommodate my request. Our room turned out to be the top floor corner room with a lovely view out to the beach. One unexpected bonus is the rooftop terrace which has sun-loungers and provides a nice private sitting area with views out towards the sea. The lack of a lift in the hotel might be an issue for those with mobility issues so I would recommend considering that before booking. We really enjoyed our few days at The Best Western Hotel Brittany so much so that we have booked to go back this year and have emailed the hotel requesting the same room which they have confirmed is available for us - can't wait!

"Nice surprise"
Prissa, 15 Décembre 2015

We had never been to La Baule...what a nice surprise. It's like a Nice of the north. We got a last minute deal at this sweet little hotel...a block from the sea. We could see the beach and sea from our little balcony. The room was not too large, but nice and comfortable. Definitely would recommend staying here. It is a quick walk to the restaurants and the area is especially nice to walk, whether along the boardwalk or through the residential area.

"Beach"
KRHNSZR, 02 Septembre 2015

You will be very close to magnificent beach of La Baule. Small but, pretty, clean and comfortable rooms. There is no elevator and hard to find parking place near the hotel at crowded weekends. Restaurants and shops are at 5 minutes walk distance.

"Great location and quiet"
Edouard B, 03 Août 2015

I stayed in this hotel for the second time. It is well located near the beach, restaurants and the main shopping street. All at walking distance (a few min max). Rooms are not that big however the price for the quality you get is decent even during the high season. Breakfast is good and well furnished. It is served from 7:30 up to 11am which is rather cool I think. It is to be noted that the hotel is very quiet, tenants make sure you or your children pay attention to respecting silence... Good or bad thing, you to decide... Especially if you are a family with children...

"Nice decor, near the sea"
David B, 02 Août 2015

The hotel is very tastefully decorated but the rooms are rather small and not what one might expect from a Best Western. They are well appointed. It is close to the beach and the centre of town. The breakfast buffet is good. The reception staff are not very customer friendly.

"Not one of the best Best Westerns we've stayed in by a long way!"
John D, 24 Juillet 2015

We normally stay at the Mercure Majestic - highly recommended by the way! - but booked the Brittany as it was nearer the town centre and my wife had problems with her foot and couldn't walk very far. It's location was the only good thing about it! The rooms were very small and the toilet/shower room was the smallest I've ever encountered in any hotel! I couldn't fully stretch my arms out in any direction without touching a wall! We had a weeks stay and it wasn't good! The breakfast was adequate, but the bread and rolls were all oven heated from frozen - in France, with Europe's best bread! - and an ok selection of the usual. At €13 each per night it wasn't good value in my view. Admittedly the rooms were spotless, but the staff weren't very friendly and didn't make much effort to engage with clients. They advised that there was suitable on road parking, but it was a real hit or miss whether you got a space even near the hotel! I dread to think what it would be like in summer! Would never stay there again!

"Nice Hotel good fresh air tucked away peaceful"
Vincent404, 05 Juin 2015

Great room, comfortable bed, but the bathroom is a little small...i.e. the size of a slightly generous wardrobe with the loo facing the wall 12 inches away. Google maps says there is parking but no there is not. Room to park on the street if you are not fussy.

"Small elegent hotel"
traveltoneUk, 01 Octobre 2014

Stayed 1 night originally I would think someone's large home although small this hotel is grand in stature you get the feel of elegance and charm I found my room on the front (above the main doors) Very large (more like a suit/with a sofa etc) Excellent bathroom (great shower) Very large comfortable bed With Electric roller shutters And heavy curtains Made for a great night's sleep The hotel is set back 1 road from the main beach road (so not much noise) Although from this room and the room above you will get a sea view I can recommend this hotel Especially the front rooms Breakfast was a buffet conti style So more than ample As others have said There's No lift So would be a problem if your disabled (ground floor rooms only) Parking (I didn't take a car) Is an on street affair which looked easy to do As the back streets are fairly quiet
