« Excellent hotel in lovely part of Kitzbuhel »

This hotel has a lovely quiet location just a few minutes walk from the old town, next to the Hahnenkamm cable car station and train station. My room was very comfortable (I loved seeing the cable cars named after skiers floating past from the balcony!), the breakfasts were excellent, and there is also a nice swimming pool. I had not booked dinner in advance, but it was possible to book the half board menu option each morning for a very reasonable price, which I did on one occasion. The hotel staff were all helpful and friendly, and very kindly accommodated a small change to my plans without any fuss. If I return to Kitzbuhel I will definitely choose this hotel again.

    « Very good hotel. »

We have just returned from our 4th stay at this property. Again we have had a very good stay. The food, service and staff are good. The only slight down point is that for the second consecutive year there has been a very large turnover in staff in fact I did not recognize anyone from reception and apart from the excellent morning chef Attila everyone had change, even in the hospitality industry I found that surprising. Another minor point is that the card giving our room maid names a lady I have not seen for two years. Apart from these very minor points I could still highly recommend the hotel.

« Annual visit to Kitzbuhel »

Absolutely fabulous 2 week stay at the Kaiserhof. The hotel was spotlessly clean with friendly and helpful staff. The room was budget class but was a decent size with a very large double and comfortable bed. We were on the road side but never heard any traffic from 21:00 to 07:00 hours. Food was of excellent quality with a buffet style breakfast where with a little help from the juicer, fresh orange juice could be had. Good selection of hot and cold fare. Evening was a 5 course meal where you were waited on. Wellness facilities were excellent (forget the swim suit in the sauna area) and the swimming pool just the right warmth and size. The staff were wonderful when I came a 'cropper' on the hotels free to hire ebike, the injury sustained was entirely my own fault. I had to get to the local hospital at St Johann every other day for a new dressing and it was Mario the manager who insisted that he or one of his staff, drive me to the hospital, which was a Godsend as the train timetable and the appointment times never coincided. Great time, definitely going back to the Kaiserhof next year - though I'll most probably give the bikes a miss.

« Walking week in Austria »

We spent a week at this lovely hotel at the end of August on half board. Top class hotel, lovely room, excellent buffet breakfast and high quality and choice of evening meal. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, pool and spa excellent. Highly recommend for any one wanting a relaxing break in a great location. If there was one issue it would have been nice to have air conditioning in the room given the high temperatures, this said table fans were provided on request.

« This should be a five star hotel. »

Just had the most amazing week stay at the Kaiserhof, which is shown as a four star rated hotel but surely hits most of what would be required to be a five star. Check in was easy, no stress, problems or hitches, just very straight forward. We had room 332 which had a balcony and faced toward the town meaning sunlight in the morning but shade in the afternoon making the room cooler later in the day which was a large plus for us. The room was light and clean with what my wife described as the most comfortable bed she has ever slept in, and I wouldn't argue with that either. The bathroom has an integrated radio just near the light switch, and when the solid wooden door was closed, you couldn't hear a thing in the bedroom meaning having a bath or shower with music didn't disturb anyone. Breakfast was a magnificent affair and the service was outstanding, all the staff having almost faultless spoken English (and many other languages it seemed), our main server for breakfast was Leni who was a lovely lady remembering what we liked for drinks with breakfast from day two of our stay. Late afternoon , between 4pm and 5pm, a variety of snacks were offered, sometimes, cake, sometimes soup or other light snacks. The swimming pool was so clear and inviting we found ourselves in it each afternoon after being out in the heat all day. The hotel manager informed us it was a constant 30 degrees, which was perfect for us, cool enough to refresh after a hot day but not cold at all. I also had a massage by Petra who can be booked through reception, her treatment room is next to the pool and as well kept as the rest of the hotel, but be aware, for a petite lady she has very strong arms and a deep massage will be exactly that, again, perfect after a long hike in the mountains. Dinner, well what can I possibly say about dinner? We are not wealthy and have not dined at the Ritz but we have eaten in some fine dining establishments and I can say without reservation that the dinner at the Kaiserhof is one of the best I have ever known. Raffael, one of the head waiters ensured that any time I requested a change to one of the courses on offer, my request was met, usually with a smile and a cheeky comment but this just made the experience even better, an extremely nice , professional man who knows his job very well. Whilst we were staying, there was a wedding at the hotel and the evening function allegedly ran on until 0400 or thereabouts but the rooms are so well insulated and the windows/doors so well fitted, that we heard nothing at all and slept like logs as was the norm in that bed. I am sure I have missed something but you can only say the word perfect so many times. If you go to Kitzbuhel and don't stay at the Kaiserhof you really are missing something very special and a service that is second to none. Please, if you have any questions please ask me and if I can help I will.

« being on a 10 day road trip around south and central Europe Best Hotel of the whole trip. »

Excellent room, most lavish breakfast, fast washing clothes, very secure parking super location. Only small drawback my room was on top of the road so I had some noise at night. Highly recommend it. Nice pool over looking the Ski lifts helpful staff. Very nice price to quality ratio.

« Excellent stay near the center of town »

This is a wonderful choice of a hotel...close to the train station, bordered by the mountain tram and only minutes (walking) from the center of town. The rooms are beautifully appointed and spacious with lovely balconies. The beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are spacious and clean. Our room had a refrigerator with complementary soft drinks, a small sofa and a chair. It is easy to store your skis or boots in the storage room, but the closet was also spacious. Of particular note is the food. Breakfast has a wonderful array of choices from fruit and delicious cheeses to omelets (prepared for you), cereals, croissants, rolls, yogurt and special meats. Dinner is exceptional. You will not go hungry. Then, go outside for a hike, a ski or a run in this lovely town. Stop at some of the nearby tourist sites, most of which you can access from the hotel on foot. ,

    « Absolutely wonderful »

We have not long returned from a really memorable holiday at the Kaiserhof. We stayed at the Kaiserhof in Vienna earlier in the summer and were so impressed that we had to try out the sister hotel in Kitzbühel! It lived up to our high expectations in every way possible. We went for a "Comfort" room, which was worth every penny extra, giving us lots of space, a nice sitting area and most importantly a lovely balcony with great views over the town and to the Kitzbüheler Horn. The bed was extremely comfortable and we got a perfect night's sleep every night. The complimentary soft drinks from the minibar on a daily basis are a really nice touch, especially for when the weather was really warm throughout our stay. The food is a real highlight of the hotel. The hugely extensive and top quality evening meals are the best I have ever had at a hotel of this type in Austria and that is a tall order given the already high standards around. Breakfast each morning was also fantastic, with such high quality produce on offer. The chef made some delicious eggs with Speck to order. Service in the restaurant was really friendly and on the whole very attentive - particularly from Michael, who looked after us most evenings. The sweet or savoury afternoon buffet is nice to return to after a day of hiking. The pool and spa facilities are beautifully done out and were great to use each day of our holiday. The pool area is particularly nice and is equipped with loungers and a great view. The "Wellness" area has numerous relaxing stations like an organic sauna and steam room. It is worth bearing the traditional nudity rules in mind, however. The staff at reception were the only area that could perhaps do with a little training in how to deal with guests better. When we checked in, the receptionist was not very proficient in English and insisted on speaking it despite the fact I launched the dialogue in Austrian German - it felt a bit rude but perhaps booking with Inghams meant that it was assumed I could not possibly be bilingual! Just like the Kaiserhof in Vienna, it seems a little strange from a guest's perspective that the hotel is part of the Best Western portfolio but it must work for the business! We would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and would really like to return the next time we go to Kitzbühel.

« Nice Hotel, Lovely food, Great value »

Hotel very clean, gym bit small and very hot but with plenty of walking around the hotel that didn't matter so much. Had half board definitely worth it as the food was very good, stayed 4 nights and was different each night. Breakfast was also very good. Serving staff were marvellous. Situated outside main drag of shops but centre is only a few mins walk. Very close to ski lifts but they were not noisy at all. AND it had a carpark. Only complaint is limited space to sit outside - not a problem in winter but we were there in Summer. Would definatley stay here again.

« Far better than expected »

This hotel should actually have 5 Stars. Even if you would search you could not fault anything. The rooms/bathrooms are great and spacious. The food (breakfast and dinner) is 'out of this world' with sufficient items to chose from. All food is first class. The staff, however, tops it all. They are all friendly, nothing is too much for them and you get a first class service in the restaurant. We stayed in a lot of 4 and 5* hotels. This is certainly one of the best and therefore we will be there next year again!!

« Luxury comes as standard »

We stayed at the Kaiserhof hotel in Vienna last year and so we hoped the hotel would be of a similar standard. It was ! The only thing different was the welcome or lack of, no guidance of where anything was, restaurant protocol or where to find information. The information is there, but you must ask. The larger rooms with balconies are excellent, kept clean and having the fridge replenished with complimentary soft drinks is a nice touch. Breakfasts are superb everything is there including a jovial chef who prepares all kinds of hot dishes. just ask ! Evening meals are a work of art, and if you do not fancy any of the dishes just ask for alternatives and they will do their best to please. The Wellness centre located on the lower ground floor is very relaxing and the pool water is a pleasantly warm. Enjoy the atmosphere of the hotel it is typical Austrian and if you are unsure just ask, you will be glad you did.

« I loved this hotel and the staff and their care factor is what made it even better!!! »

I loved the big spacious room with the balcony, the 5 star meals! The lovely caring staff that couldn't do enough for you. Most of all, feeling cared about and not invisible, unlike at the current hotel I'm at !!! Grauer Bar hotel Solden....Big let down after staying at yours! You offer friendly service where anyone can feel at home, especially for a solo traveller that may even get " blank stares from a couple at the next table even after smiling at them to say hi.The same seems to continue at this hotel. The difference is that the staff at your hotel were friendly and down to earth and this helped me not to feel so alienated whilst travelling solo.Funny thing is,I'm a very friendly and sociable person that gets along well with people and like people to feel comfortable. This is what I liked about your staff. They were like this. Thanks for the great memories and really making a difference to my trip and the feeling I had staying in this region.Keep smiling ! « A 4+ star facility with a service of 5! »

« Terrific hotel in a great location »

I take people hiking and skiing in the Alps. I found the Hotel Kaiserhof a few years ago (it was the old Hotel Montana) and fell in love with it. It's a perfect location for skiers, about a 2 minute walk to the Hahnenkamm gondolas. In winter you can ski right back to the front (or back) door. For hikers, it's also perfect, close to the Hahnenkamm train station and a little above town so it's not so noisy. I highly recommend this hotel to people who want great food and terrific service.

    4
« Short winter ski break »

Although we had chosen Kaiserhof to have ski in - ski out facility, there was not much snow near the hotel, but ski lift was probably only a 200 m walk away. Otherwise a very good choice of accommodation, with good restaurant and bar, late afternoon complimentary sweets and coffee, comfortable room (superior with twin beds), super soft mattress and pillows, good Wi-Fi and spacious ski storage.

    « Ideally Situated »

You couldn't find a better situated hotel in Kitzbuhel, it is right next to the Hahnenkamm Gondola which is a must do on any trip to Kitbuhel. The hotel offers excellent service, food, & accommodation, we had booked a Superior suite which looked out on to the Gondola as it travelled up & down the mountain. We would certainly recommend a stay at the Kaiserhof.

    « Great hotel overall »

We enjoyed our week's stay at the Kaiserhof, which has an excellent location, food and service. We had a spacious suite, with walk-in wardrobe, large bathroom, lounge, and bedroom. There was plenty of storage and space to move around, with a TV in the lounge and bedroom. We were unable to secure a room with a balcony as the hotel was full and there was no option to move or upgrade. The other downside was that our room overlooked the road, and there was traffic noise early in the morning, especially the Huber delivery man, who banged the van doors and plastic delivery boxes very loudly, so we were awoken early each day. We will definitely return, but we will book early to ensure we have a room overlooking the mountain which will be much quieter.

    « Number Uno »

The hotel is absolutely just fantastic. The menu in restaurant is one of the best I have ever haved. Service is something unbelievable good and everything is better than in any first class hotel. The food is unbelievable good. Just stay here.

« One of the best hotels we've stayed in »

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Our room was very pleasant, overlooking the Hahnenkamm gondola, which we enjoyed watching from our balcony. The food was superb and there was so much of it - excellent breakfast buffet and very good choice at dinner. We had to stop having the afternoon 'snack' as we were eating too much! We can definitely recommend a stay here.

« A lovely traditional hotel with exceptional staff »

We were a party of 3 adults and stayed for the second two weeks of June. The rooms were lovely, all furnished in traditional pine. The fridge in the room contained water and juices which were free and replenished daily. The wifi was excellent. One of our rooms had a balcony with close-up views of the mountain and the gondola. The weather varied from temperatures in the 30's to tremendous thunder storms. It was a real experience sitting on the balcony and watching the storm come over the mountains. The room did get very warm at times but we were offered a fan which helped. The hotel is situated literally next to the Hahnenkamm gondola station and about 100 metres from the railway station. As a party of 3 non-walkers, we wanted to use the train to explore the surrounding area. We found the rail fares to be very reasonable once we had mastered the ticket machine. On our first visit to the station we found it difficult to find the correct option. We returned to the hotel to ask for advice. The receptionist then offered to accompany us to the station where he was also confused by the machine so returned to the hotel to telephone the train company to find out which option we should select! We took the train to Zell am See, a 59 minute journey and it cost only 37 euros return for the 3 of us. We were half board which consisted of an enormous choice at breakfast, both hot and cold, an afternoon snack between 4-5pm and a 5 course dinner. One of our party is vegetarian and it took the staff a little while to realise that she also would not eat anything containing fish, but they quickly produced an alternative dish. The staff, particularly the waiting staff, were exceptional. No matter how busy they were, they managed to create a very friendly atmosphere. It is obvious that this is a family owned hotel and is run exceptionally well by Mario, the manager. The same family has a hotel in Vienna which we intend to visit sometime in the hope that it will be as special as this hotel!

« Great location, very friendly service »

We stayed in February with our three teens. First, the location is perfect with the main gondola right next door and the end of a ski run across the street. It's also a short walk into town. Secondly, the staff was really friendly. Special mention of our main evening waitress, Martina, who was very attentive, energetic and always smiling. We went with the half-board option and were glad that we made that choice. There are many courses for dinner and they take a while to come out, but the food was good and we had nothing else to do. The spa is great. The small pool was always busy with kids after ski. A hot tub would be a great addition, outdoors under the chairlift would be fantastic. The only downside for us was that just a couple of the cable TV channels are in english but it's probably same in all hotels in the area. We highly recommend.

    4
« Nice hotel no atmosphere »

A lovely hotel, excellent breakfast and nice evening meals. The hotel is somewhat subdued but in a great position for ski school and the main town. We picked this hotel for its position to ski school and the hanakaham ski lift. Rooms are not large and we had a junior suite. Clean and what you need. So it's an moderately expensive hotel that's close to the main lifts and ski school. It has a small but clean indoor pool and decent steam and sauna facilities, next time we will do bed and breakfast only as half board was drawn out and laborious, far too much food.

    4
« Ideally positioned for town centre, station and cable car »

Fantastic rooms although the mattress topper could do with replacing with memory foam. We had a small balcony which was lovely to sit and admire the view & the cable car (which was silently running!) Breakfast good and as much as you can eat. The only problem we really had with our stay is that the room faced East so got hot early and, if we didn't return to the room before late afternoon / evening, it was unbearably hot overnight but too noisy to enable us to leave the balcony door open to get ventilation / coolness. There is no air conditioning or other means of cooling the room. We were told this is usual in Austria but the BW Hotel in Salzburg did have aircon! We were also told that in mid-summer, it gets even hotter!! While I appreciate that winters get very cold, if summers get very hot then there is surely a need to get both heating and cooling systems in each room! The room price (even at 171 euros for seniors) is extremely high as we only paid 79 euros in Salzburg. These are early summer prices too.

    « Absolutely The Best! »

One of the things about reviewing hotels "on the fly" while on a trip is thinking a place is excellent until you find the real thing. This hotel is the real thing! Cozy, welcoming, friendly staff, nice rooms, just a great overall experience. The restaurant is so good, it will get a separate review as economical fine dining. A really nice breakfast buffet, including Attila the omelet / waffle meister, and a real family feel. Without a doubt, one of the nicest hotels we've ever visited.

    4
« Nice place with beautiful mountain views »

Very nice place conveniently located next to the lift to the mountain. We were there for a business meeting. The beautiful views and location made it feel like a vacation. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. I will definitely return with family for an actual vacation.

    « Easter holliday »

This was a wonderful holiday! The Kaiserhof has a fantastic location 20 steps from the hahnenkam gondola and a 5 minutes walk from the town center. The hotel is built in a traditional tyrole style with lots of wood and colorful fabrics. We had booked the largest suite in the hotel called the Maximilian suite. It was much nicer than we expected, the hotels homepage does not give the right impression. It has two big bedrooms with spacious bathrooms, guest toilet in the hall. Large sitting and dining area with fridge, wine fridge and an espresso coffemachine which I love! We had two large balconies. One overlooking the gondola and mountain, the other overlooking the town. We had booked half board the week we stayed since we know there are lots of good restaurants in town. We did however eat dinner in the hotel three nights. The breakfast at the Kaiserhof is very good. It has more or less everything you need for a good morning start! In the afternoon the bar served a small buffet. Sausages, roast beef or pasta dish. This was very good after a long day skiing! Very well accompanied with a cold beer or glass of wine served by the friendliest Italian bartender ever!! The three dinners we had were very good. The menu was presented in the newsletter placed at our breakfast table every morning. There was a separate children's menu. The spa area was small but nice. It had a good selection of treatments and a swimming pool. It's always nice with a pool. There is also a large public pool with slides only three minutes walk from the hotel. All the staff in the hotel was very friendly always greeting us when we came or left the hotel. It was nice that we had the same waiter during the stay. She was very helpful and friendly. Thank you for making our Easter holiday a good one!????????????

« Fantastic hotel- perfect location »

Unbeatable location for the lifts. Staff were extremely helpful and room was spacious and comfortable. We particularly appreciated the jacuzzi bath in the suite. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and bar was nice for a quick drink. Would not stay anywhere else!

    4
« Hotel great, still not direct ski access »

The family suite was wonderful. The balcony was awesome. The staff was polite and helpful. The restaurant and set menus were super plus. Only down point is that the lobby bar closes early for the bar in the next building to make more business and this not great for people with young kids. And, direct ski access for us means skiing immediately. This hotel for us is not that. Still you need to carry the skiis though short distance and get in line, etc..

    4
« Perfect for skiing in Kitzbuhel »

We stayed here as a family for a skiing trip in February. The hotel is very nice with the typical Austrian flair. Food and service were top notch and it has good facilities including a swimming pool and spa. One of the best features about the hotel is that it is right at the bottom of the slope, so whether you take the lift down or ski to the bottom, it is then a very short walk back to the hotel -- this is not to be under-estimated! I have a few small grievances, but these are very minor: firstly, the swimming pool each afternoon/early evening was taken over by children who have little understanding of the concept of a shared space. The pool is a small area and there really isn't anywhere to hide when kids are 'bombing' into the water. Equally, children would occasionally descend into the spa area ruining what is supposed to be a tranquil, relaxing environment. This also affected the no-clothes policy in the spa area which was rarely respected or enforced. Both the pool and spa would benefit from a no-children policy for at least a few hours each day although I understand the difficulties in such a policy, particularly for families with small children. Usually, the spa is a no-children area and that's a good compromise. Another gripe was that the main hotel bar closed relatively early (10pm) after which we were advised to use the new bar in the basement. The trouble is, this bar has no character and we preferred calling it a night rather than spending time (and money) there. As I say, these are both minor issues and don't detract from what is otherwise a very good hotel. I would definitely recommend.

    5
    « Superb! »

Really can't fault this hotel. Staff are delightful - great for suggestions of where to lunch when skiing, holding luggage, turning on sauna out of normal times. Really a huge pleasure staying here. Food is excellent - breakfast with fresh waffles, yoghurt, meats and cheeses almost too good. Dinner is lovely - not sure if other reviewers had a bad week or what but we had three delicious meals particularly the passion fruit dumplings one night! Michael,Eva and all the other staff thank you! Oh and it's underneath the gondola - couldn't be in a better spot!

« Faultless, Best Location; Has to be one of the Top Ski Hotels in Europe ! »

We were greeted by friendly, smartly dressed, nice people, in all areas of the hotel, be it in reception, bar, restaurant, on the stairs or looking after our room. The service is impeccable and the decor of a high standard, featuring beautiful quality pine paneling and tasteful soft furnishing. Thick walls and heavy doors ensure a tranquil atmosphere. You would never know that the hotel sits right next to the main lift station and is conveniently only 100m from the Kitzbuel Hahnenkamm railway station. At the end of the day, a piste delivers you to a spot just across the road. The cuisine is of a very high standard and excellent value. Lovely pool and spa area; very spacious convenient ski room.

    4
    « Great location »

Excellent location straight at the gondola and only 5 min walk to the beautiful cozy downtown of Kitzbuhel. We got excellent suite on the top floor with balcony, unfortunately with too soft mattress. Several kinds of sauna, fast wi-fi and garage parking in the price. A bottle of water for journey back home was a nice gesture:-) On the other hand, I was a bit disappointed with service in several cases, especially with man preparing eggs at breakfast. Quality of the food could be better at dinner (we had great steak or dessert table, but the rest of dinners was rather average - not value for the money).

    5
    « Super, wonderbaa, a Gem! »

Our families skied Kitzbuehl in February and the Kaiserhof was a gracious and welcoming home for the week. Most convenient location to the gondola, apres ski, train and village zentrum. Classic Tyrolean charm and appeal. Food choices, taste and presentation were out of this world. Service was efficient, friendly, impeccable. Nice wine choices at reasonable cost. Hotel was clean, modern, well kept. We bought a package - airfare, room, meals and transport - so I can't comment on the price. We all felt we got more than our money's worth. We found the entire property - rooms, bar and restaurant to be overheated and uncomfortable. We left the balcony door open to sleep.

    4
« Best location in town, somewhat overpriced »

The place to be if you want to be as close as possible to the main ski lifts. Nice if smallish rooms. Overall the place feels well kept and clean. Decent but certainly not outstanding spa and swimming pool. Good breakfast buffet. Dinners boring and uninspiring. Service could be better. The entire team failed to connect my iPad to the hotel wi-fi. My friends were mischarged my the hotel receptionist on their credit card and the hotel refused to cooperate. The hotel is pretty expensive as well as the village of Kitzbühel generally. Not the best value for money.

    5
« The best Kitzbuhel has to offer »

Excellent location for skiers - almost ski in (you have to cross a narrow road to get to the ski room) and practically ski out (right next to the main lift). Immaculately clean rooms, particularly bathrooms which is a rare treat. All in perfect conditions. Great breakfasts. Short walk to all shops and restaurants. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

« Great hotel in Kitzbuhel »

Stayed at the Kaiserhof with my son. Very very nice stay. Well equipted and clean rooms. Very freindly service. Location cant be better. 1 min. from gondola and 30 sec. from pist when coming down from mountain. We can highly recomend this hotel.

    5
    « Professional but cozy »

At a glance: good breakfast buffet, friendly but not stiff staff, typical Austrian rooms. Spa area is really good with cable cars of famous Hahnenkammbahn cruising over indoor swimming pool. Superb for chilly vacation, could be a bit more 'action' though.

« Great location but mixed experiences in our stay »

Our week at the Kaiserhof left us with slightly mixed feelings; some things were very good, others not so great, for that class of hotel. Starting with good things, the first was a warm welcome and accelerated check-in from the Manager, who organised help with baggage and everything else we needed. Our room was excellent; it was beautifully furnished with plenty of space, had every facility we could require, and was adjoined by a really nice bathroom, which had been thoughtfully designed for function and style. The position of this hotel is also excellent, being just a few steps from the Hahnenkamm main lift. The situation really couldn't be more convenient for skiers. Unfortunately, on the food and drinks side of things we were not so happy. Firstly, the smart hotel lobby bar closes around 9:30pm, after which the only option for a drink is to go to another far less inviting space in the basement of the annexe of the hotel. This early closure leaves the main reception area empty and soul-less from mid evening onwards. Even when the reception bar was open, the barman was often not in attendance. We were frequently told that he was ?coming shortly? or similar, but on several occasions we had to wait 10 minutes in an empty bar for him to appear. The restaurant is again an attractive space, and we were assigned a pleasantly secluded table which, we were informed, was to be ours for the duration of our stay. However, after two days we were summarily told that we were to be moved, as the hotel needed our space for new guests. Clearly, they were more important than us, as we were then given an inferior spot. My main complaint is the food served at this hotel. Breakfast was an average buffet, but the half-board dinner options were less than adequate. It was always a 4 course meal, with some choices, but all the choices were esoteric recipes which ? I guess ? are local to that region of Austria. There were never any international dishes, or recognisable recipes on offer. One of the attractions in staying in a Best Western chained hotel was, or should have been, some international cuisine. But there was no such cuisine here. Furthermore, it is my belief that, relative to the room rate of this hotel, the actual cost of ingredients used was quite low. Finally, we opted out of the half board dinners, for which we received a small refund, and ate in town. I must say that every meal we had was far better than in house, and these meals out were not at all expensive. So, in summary I think that the culinary and restaurant management side of this establishment rather lets down what could be a really great destination for international travellers in Kitzb?hel.

« Nice hotel but food disappointing »

My husband and I stayed here for a week's skiing. The hotel is very conveniently located and there is a piste back to the town which ends just opposite the hotel ski room. It is also close to the Hahnenkamm lift and although the hotel is on a steep slope, the walk to the lift station is minimal. The hotel is staffed by relaxed friendly people and the furnishings are of a typically pine Alpine look. Our room was spacious and comfortable. One little complaint is that they have a nice bar in the reception area which closes about 9.30pm and after that time you are directed to another bar at a lower level which is not so nice. Kids play at a pool table nearby and it also doubles as a family room with sofas. It doesn't work well and although the batman was friendly we only went there once. The breakfast buffet is adequate. We had half board and really struggled to find edible dishes amongst their offerings in the evening. The dishes are a mish-mash of ingredients with fancy titles and realty not of an international standard. We also felt that cheap ingredients were being disguised behind a variety of ill matched and assorted accompaniments. I had wanted to use the swimming pool but was put off by rowdy children; that was a shame. All in all we would return but would try to make it a time when children are back in school and also we would take a room on bed and breakfast only.

« Why do we love this hotel and kitzbuhel »

1.The design, with its beautiful pine wood work, is warm, welcoming and elegant. 2. The staff are wonderful ? most are so charming and helpful, Any minor room need is attended to immediately. 3. The quality and quantity of everything is excellent. For example we regularly counted over 20 items In the evening salad bar - just one course amongst 7 of the highest quality! In the morning they have a a semi automatic machine for doing your own fresh orange juice, and a slicer for cutting your own ham. At 4 pm you are offered not just fine cakes, but mini meals as well - eg : pork spare ribs and fine chips or a pasta dish of tuna and a different pair of such foods each day. 4. Location for skiing : not only is the main cable car lift a 2 min walk away, but you can ski back to the door via 3 slopes ? see photos. 5. Room : wide safe which would hold a lap top. Heated bathroom floor and large heated towel rail so handy for drying underwear over night ! Great high and low level showers. Wifi excellent. 6. Very secure and warm skis and boot room with heated bars for boots. 7. Very nice heated swimming pool. Our only reservation is that the elegant and comfortable lounge/library with fireplace is often used by smokers and whilst the ventilation Is good, a non smoker can smell cigarette smoke ? however, there are other comfortable seating areas near the bar. And staff in particular..... Many thanks Florentina & Waltraud for your e mail replies and your welcome at Reception. And Waltraud ? you had the patience of Job is showing is other rooms for a return visit! Hannes : you are a great Maitre D and made our breakfasts and evening meals so enjoyable ? we loved our last table position ? which we will keep a secret ! Michael ? Head Waiter : thank you also for your helpful service and you have such a welcoming manner. Ivan : thank you for looking after us so well on our visit to the Sil Bar. Anna : thank you for looking after our room so well. E Mail address : kitz@hotel-kaiserhof.at We would love to stay here again. Kitzbuhel : They are continually improving the skiing with for example, wider pistes and better lifts. And It is such a lovely historic town. Also it is great for non skiers with free guided walks/snow shoe walks Mon- Friday at 9.45 from Tourist Office. Apre Ski : Across the road from hotel is the Striefalm : On a Sunday from 4-6 they have two guitar playing girl singers called ?The Road Chicks? ? very good indeed. And at The Londoner pub in the town centre they have two guitar/keyboard player singers from 5-7 pm. Very talented musicians.

« Fabulous Location and Service »

I stayed here for 3 nights in January for a weekend getaway with a girlfriend. The location cannot be beat. The hotel is practically next door to the Hahnenkamm cable car and 100 meters from the Hahnenkamm train station. Despite its central location, the hotel is very quiet inside and feels above town rather in the busy center where cars drive. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, service was extremely nice and accommodating, the spa facilities (while co-Ed and nude) were very nice and relaxing, and the rooms (while a bit on the small side) were spotless and had beautiful balconies with seating area to take in the views. I was almost scared off by the Best Western name but too a chance based on the reviews. We loved it and would return in a heartbeat. Go directly across the street to Streifalm for great apres skiing from 4-6 pm daily. And make sure to try out the sauna and spa area which is very relaxing.

    « Alpine Perfection »

Have stayed here many times over a number of years and it never disappoints. The staff, location, food, rooms are all just perfect. Did the inaugural trip with Mario to see sunrise over the mountain top, magical! If staying, eat in the restaurant- standards are superb and incredible value. We aim to visit once a year for a few days pampering and booking direct with the hotel is easy. A few days break and I feel like I've been away for a couple of weeks. The staff made last year's wedding anniversary very special for us, unforgettable kindness and memorable service, they are amazing! The spectacular scenery helps but the whole ethos and ambience of the hotel grows year on year and the standards just get higher. Perfection in an Alpine setting.

« Great views, clean rooms, yummy breakfast »

The room: The rooms were well cared for, lovely large shower and lots of space for chilling in the room itself. My main bugbear was that the bed itself was super hard, but have heard this is common across the continent and that I shouldn't be too surprised! Location: You can basically see the Bergbahn from the hotel, so the location is definitely unrivalled. Food: Wow, what a breakfast! I adored the made-to-order omelettes, and there was a fabulous spread of fruit and pastries to accompany it. I am normally not keen on eating dinner at the hotel I'm staying at, but one night I did and the food was of an amazing high standard... I wonder if this says more about Austrian cuisine compared to British though!

« formal hotel behind lift, ski back practically to door! great quality! »

Ski package 5 day inc pass, great value! 13-18 dec Meals inc! Room was immaculate, spacious with balcony overlooking gondola! Luckily after some nov snow 3 wks previously they had done an excellent job of making enough piste snow! Conditions were very good, sun, warm, and exceptionally quiet! Last day , we had a little rain the night before, conditions had deteriorated . So it will be a shame for skiers over xmas. We had brill ski ing ! Atmosphere in hotel was rather formal for us, and although the food quality was excellent some meals were delicious others not to our taste! Plenty of food, amazing salad bar and cheeses, fruit plentiful. Cream soups were lovely , I am not keen on clear ones! No choice on starter or soup , choice of 3 mains, one fish, one meat one veg! One dessert choice. Drinks reasonably prices. Free in room mini bar was large waters still and sparkling, one small carton size apple and orange juice. Although we turned our heating off the room was boiling even with window open, quilt was far too hot! Very uncomfortable sleeping. Pool was tiny. We had a nice time , great value! Great time of year to ski!

    « fantastic hotel »

Stayed in October and had a fantastic time. Warm welcome by staff on arrival and this continued throughout our stay. Comfortable room with spectacular views , worth having a balcony. Breakfasts were great and fab omelettes have to be mentioned. Evening meals were always interesting with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and great flavours. Staff in the restaurant were great. Pool is small but worth using after a days walking up the mountain. Also had an excellent reflexology session in the spa which was greatly appreciated after a week of traipsing around mountains. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, the only caveat was that our room had shower in Bath and wasn't really suitable for anyone over 5 ft 10.. We visited kitzbuhel sort of between seasons which meant some services had closed but found enough to do with variety of walks and a days exploration in Innsbruck going by train.

« Another Wonderful stay at the Kaiserhof »

After having a wonderful holiday last year at the Kaiserhof we were a little unsure whether the experience could be repeated this year. Our fears were unfounded. Yet again the Kaiserhof more than exceeded our expectations. The Kaiserhof is certainly the best hotel we have stayed at in Austria. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is nicely presented with lots of inspiration, twists and variety from the Chef and kitchen staff. Certainly not the usual Austrian fare we have experienced in other hotels in the Tirol. Especial thanks go to Florintina at reception, Hannes, Martina and Jasmine for their help with my GLUTEN FREE diet. I couldn't have asked for more. The Gluten Free white rolls were the best I have tasted and the G F beer was much appreciated. The hotel is ideally situated for bus , train and gondola rides. We certainly hope to return to the Kaiserhof in the near future.

« Top Hotel near Centre of Kitzbühel »

A modern, very clean and friendly hotel at the Hahnenkamm cable car station at the foot of the Hahnenkamm Mountain, famous for skiing races in January. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, bed comfortable, all spotlessly clean - we had a terrace facing the cablecar station which was very nice. Entering the hotel underground parking was a nightmare with an SUV, but it was possible to park there in the end. The breakfast was excellent - a wide choice of many delicious things, incl. fresh juices, fruit, homemade cakes, etc. Our cocker spaniel enjoyed the stay - the hotel is very pet friendly - the 15 € surcharge for a dog was rather high though.

    « Absolutely fabulous »

Stayed for a week at this hotel in Sept 2015. Fantastic staff, service, welcome, cleanliness, facilities in fact everything. We booked a room with a balcony so treat yourself if you decide to go here - its worth it. Half board was ample for our needs. Loads of good food including herbs from the hotels own herb garden. Local beer served in the hotel is Euro 4.30 per 500ml. Good value for a 4* hotel which is really 5*. There are two e-bikes you can prebook via Reception and we were provided with free water on leaving for our journey to the airport. It was my birthday while we were there and the hotel presented me with a lovely poem and some chocolates without any prompting. Well done to them. Brilliant trips organised by local Thomson reps to Berchtesgaten and elsewhere. Everyone speaks English but give German a go if you can. They are very patient in trying to understand amateur German speakers and you may pick up a few useful words and phrases. We used local trains for travel and found the staff at the main Kitzbuhel station helpful with ticket requirements. We also found a free rail travel day on S Bahn or Rex services within Tyrol region. It was very busy but offered great savings. Can't praise this hotel, its management or staff highly enough. Give it a go BUT beware the transfer bus drops you off at the Hanenkahn ski lift terminal, a mere 150 metres from the hotel up a very sharp incline. You'll need a beer straight after check in!!!

« Excellent Kitzbuhel Hotel at Base of Hahnenkamm Mountain (Famous World Cup Ski Course). »

Excellent Hotel. Very clean and modern alpine furnishings. All Staff were very friendly and very helpful and provided a first class service. VWe booked this hotel as a one week package with Thomson (Tui) from 12-19th September 2015. On arrival we were upgraded from a junior garden suite to a very nice double room on the fourth floor with a spectacular view of the Hahnenkamm mountain (home of the famous world cup ski course). The Hahnenkamm cable car station is only 50m from the hotel. The cable cars pass directly over the garden of the hotel (08.30 to 17.00) but it is more of a local novelty in my opinion which adds character to the hotel and it is not too noisey. The food is fantastic and of great quality with an extensive breakfast buffet and the best omelettes we have tasted in many years freshly made to order by a very friendly chef at the egg station. Five course evening meals with great quality and choice of three main courses including vegetarian. Special mention to Martina and Hannes (the Sommelier) for their excellent quality of service. We will definitely return in the future.

    « Excellent »

We stayed at the Kaiserhof during the second week in August on the recommendation of our daughter who loves this hotel. Our room was beautiful, spacious with an amazing view from our balcony. The hotel was spotless and the food delicious, high quality, well cooked and presented. The staff were very friendly. The position of the hotel is great, just far enough out to be quiet in the evening but a few minutes walk from the centre of Kitzbuhel where there is lots going on. Weather was great for our week and we found lots to do. A great recommendation and we will certainly return. Thanks.
