« Best Western Kingsville is a Bargain »

Conveniently located with a friendly, helpful staff, BW Kingsville offers direct access (rather than through lobby access) to rooms. This is an older property that has been reasonably well kept up. Location is good - on Highway with town only minutes away. All of my requirements were well met. Clean rooms and a good value I will definitely be staying here on my next visit to Kingsville.

    « Don't stay here!!!! »

This has got to be one of the worst places I've ever stayed at! The bathroom had mold, the bed was like sleeping on a pool table and they allow dogs in the rooms, which led to me up most of the night listening to dogs barking at every blow of the wind. When I tried to complain, I was summarily dismissed and when I tried to cancel my second night's stay, I was told that I couldn't because I booked it on Trip Advisor. So, it cost we twice as much to be treated like crap and have a crummy night's sleep. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

« Excellent staft and location; room needed repair »

This property has a motel design and not a hotel design. Access to rooms was easy. Security seemed good, especially with the busy parking lot. Location is excellent and accessible, at the end of Highway 141, with easy access to Texas A&M-Kingsville. The room was clean although had a slightly unpleasant odor. A hole in the wall was an unattractive sight upon entering the room. The staff provided excellent service. The breakfast area is small and in the same room as the front desk. The breakfast was good. Wireless internet service did not work for several hours.

    « Nice but loud »

Nice rooms, great price. Clean and friendly. Lots of work trucks parked in the lot. We had special gear in our car that we were worried about leaving over night but had no issues. We parked close to our room and saw little to no concerns once we arrived. Only complaint was loud neighbors.

« nice for the price »

Very friendly staff. a little noisy at night from the road traffic, but I turned on the fan so no big deal. Looked at other hotels in town and this one ranked well, so I tried it. Good value for the price - will stay again!

« First time Motel experience to TAMUK »

We stayed at the Hotel for 5 nights from Aug 6 till Aug 11-2016. I went to Kingsville to support my nephew joining TAMUK. We are locals, travelled all the way from India to this place. It was long journey and after too much of review selected. This Hotel is ideally located on the highway. Straight road from the exit of the Hotel takes you to the University. Wifi is good. Breakfast is minimal and okay. As usual, Hotel Front Staff were accommodative. Certain aspects were not satisfying, the important one being that the room door is opened, the entire room is exposed (see photo). No sign board / card ?Don't disturb? was available to hang out (supposed to be available in the room). Front desk also could not manage to get one even after notifying. Felt lack of privacy as we were staying in Ground Floor. Hotel had all the other facilities to a size that is required like laundromat, fitness centre, business centre, vending machines for drinks etc all that helped at some point. First time Motel experience for me. A look at other Hotels in that area, this one stood out in my opinion as far TAMUK is concerned. Sure next visit will stay despite the negative odds that I mentioned.

« Very Comfortable and worthwhile »

This hotel accommodated my needs and it was a pleasurable experience. The room was clean and adequate. The manager on duty was very friendly and welcomed me to their location. He said if I had any problems to please let him know and he would help in any way possible. It was a pleasant experience staying at this location.

    « Hiway comfort »

Good location and an aged but well kept BW, Happy with management and customer care. Been here many times but the room was a bit heavy on an odor I would not be able to identify other than "used". Note that this was a first in this location and have stayed there many times and will be back many more. Pricing is still somewhat up there but maybe only 10 to 15 dollars per night. Management is very helpful, polite and I regret not mentioning the room problem but we got to talking and I just forgot. TV, Bed comfort, linens, appliances are all good for my taste, the pool was inviting me out to play but it was pretty windy so I caught HBO movie. Breakfast selection is good, basic things found in most locations. Fitness room used several times on visits here but not this one, long day. Come on over and settle in on this location in Kingsville and spend some time exploring the heritage of the King Ranch of Texas Ranch fame. It is everywhere just like the ranch.

« Popped in for decent night sleep »

Reasonably priced at $90, although a tad older, clean room, clean shower, and bathroom, nice staff... we didn't use the pool, but it looked nice, clean, and even had access for the disabled... quick and easy check in and out....

    « Excellent »

I definitely recommend the Best Western in Goliad, Texas. They are extremely friendly, professional, and have everything you need for your stay. I also received a brush from the front counter when I left mine at home. :)

« Clean, Comfortable, Just what I needed »

I was Traveling north from the Rio Grande Valley. I was tired and knew I needed to get off the Road. This was the perfect place. Nice room, convenient parking, helpful staff. I feel its the best "bang for your buck" hotel in Kingsville.

    « Great Experience »

Have stayed in the hotel several times now and the service is always good. It is located right off the freeway with easy access to nearby restaurants and shopping. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.

« Best Western in Kingsville, Texas »

Lobby people were very attentative and friendly. Everything was as we expected and we were pleased. Bed was comfortable. Daily newspapers were provided. However, I was with a group and some thought the room had a musty smell.

    « KIing Ranch country »

This BW location has been upgraded from its past and very few indicators of an older establishment remain. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, TV is large, all the room amenities like iron, hair dryer, fridge, micro-wave, clock radio etc. are there with wifi available, ac/Heat. what else do you need? Food? Wal-Mart and HEB are nearby in town along with a variety of eateries from chinese to mexican to bar b q and most of the fast food chains. Linens are very good, the staff is very pleasant and friendly and they got my preferred room type even though I did not have a reservation, I was also able to use the work out room had I been inclined at the time, it is in very good shape. Rates are reasonable, a little on the higher side for me but normal for South Texas oil patch areas but better now than 8 months ago. If you are looking to get into some King Ranch history exploration, just park yourself here, you will not be disappointed.

    « Roaches and crumbs »

My wife and i came down to visit family, we chose the best Western because we have never had problems with them. This time was different the maid came into out room unannounced twice. Then right afer we woke up some maintenance guys came in took the A/C out to clean it so we sat in humid hot room for about 1 1/2 hours until they finished. The the biggest complaint my wife had were the roaches. We kill three big ones in the room. So before we left we took everything out of our suit cases to make sure we didn't take any with us. The other thing the floor was never vacuumed while we stayed there. It hadn't been cleaned in some time.

« Nice sunny open spot »

Liked this place. Clean and friendly. Windows open and have screens. Yay for fresh air! Rooms don't smell like gross cleaning and deodorizing products that make me feel terrible. Clean, meaning, no gross products! Double yay!

    « Caution »

When you check in CHECK your room. Hopefully they have or will correct their uninvited guest. I stayed in another Best Western hotel on this same trip and it was fantastic. The overall hotel was okay but service after the problem was noted was not satisfactory at all.

    « Poor stay »

Hotel check in was awkward, went to check in and not a person in sight, front desk agent walks in about 5 mintues later looks like he was doing a room call cause he walked in with a room phone, then asked if i was checking in, seemed friendly but a little confused. room stay was horrible, first night was 3 roaches and not little one's either.. tv did not work my brother had to fix it and mess with wires to connect the cable.. i think i want my money back for the lack of sleep thinking a roach was gonna crawl on me.

    « Business Stay »

I chose this hotel based on location. I was on a business trip. Unfortunately, I was not able to get work done because WiFi was not working and it was noisy. As silly as it may sound, the only desk chair available would not stay up, which was really uncomfortable to work. The room smelled like the carpet hadn't been cleaned, the shower faucet did not work properly and there was mold on the ceiling of the restroom. Staff was very friendly.

    « RanchHand Festival Weekend »

Had a wonderful time and this Best Western played a huge part in it. If you are ever in Kingsville and need a nice place to stay that is close to downtown or close to nice restaurants and/or close to the main road - this one is it.

    « mice for all »

used points for a free night. desk personnel stated there was a $30 charge even though I used points. turns out the $30 charge was supposed to go to Best Western Corporate office not me. Good thing I called to question the charge. Asked for a roll away bed or cot for extra person in room. Office person did not understand what i was asking for and wanted to give me a laundry bag. initial room had two sticky mouse traps in it with a live mouse stuck in one trap. also our son noticed a hole in the wall near the floor with a towel stuffed in it. later that night, another mouse became stuck in the second trap. they were promptly removed. our son laid on his bed and a mouse came flying out of his pillowcase, off the bed and landed in another sticky trap next to the bed that I did not know existed. were given another room that smelled like mice, but did not see any in that room. i will definitely find another hotel in this town next time. Best Western has better standards than the owners of this hotel exhibited.

« Mouse Infested WORST Western Kingsville Inn »

Date of Stay 22 October 2015 Room 217 This room was mouse infested. I awakened during the night to a mouse running across the floor and another running around the lampshade on the desk. Next morning I discover two mice rotting on a glue trap behind the dresser. Upon checkout, I told the person at the desk about the rotting and live mice in Room 217. No apology. His reply? I quote - "We need to remove that trap." So he was aware of the mouse problem!! Appalling experience. Never again will I stay there nor would I recommend it to my worst enemy. I have notified the Health Department and hope they take the appropriate actions to clean up the WORST Western Kingsville Inn.

    « Bad Bath & Bugs »

The toilet stool is very small and low to the ground (difficult to use for people with bad knee or over weight. The bathroom sink would drain extremely slow (could not brush teeth without turning off water to let sink drain to keep from overflowing. Went to use the toilet last night staying there and found 2 gigantic cockroaches on the floor, killed both and flushed down toilet. went to wash hands and found large spider in sink, tried to wash down drain; but it just swam around because the drain was so slow, finally killed it with toilet papper and flushed down drain.

    « Kingsville job »

Very comfortable room. The staff are friendly and helpful. The beds are not too hard nor too soft. They are very convenient to everything since it is right on the freeway. They do have a swimming pool on location however, we did not have time to check it out. It looks like it would be a good place to cool off once you have been driving for a long time as in many many miles because it is a long way from anywhere when you are in Kingsville Texas.

    « A great place to stay »

the staff was friendly and helpful on our arrival, they directed us to a local pharmacy which was open late. The next day my meeting ran long and they arranged late checkout to accommodate my needs. The room was spacious and comfortable, made me wish we were staying more than one night.

    « On a noisy highway »

Hotel is right on a very busy highway that has lots of big truck travel. The location is very noisy. The room was clean and the bed good. Pillows are old and lumpy. Had a spider in the bathtub. The service in the evening is poor. Had the red light on indicating a phone message. Called the desk to get a message and was told I had no message. The light remained on. Called the desk again and operator said she did not know how to turn it off. Said she was new and would text manager for instructions and would call back. We left to go to dinner. When we returned the light was still on so we had to unplug the phone before going to sleep.

    « If I could give a lower rating, I would... »

Here are my marks. I did not choose this hotel by choice and would stay away at all cost. At $90/night, this was not a bargain by any means. Stay at the Hampton or Holiday Inn. 1. Hotel room was filthy and constantly smelled like wet towel. 2. I was nicely greeted by a dead roach in the bathroom. 3. Sink drain stopper was shut closed. Called the front desk about this and the fix was to completely remove it. 4. Front door was so poorly insulated that I heard everything that happened outside.

    2
    « roaches in room »

Overall the hotel was below average for the price but especially for having roaches in the room. I had to kill 5 of them and those were the ones I saw. Looks like most of the hotels in Kingsville have various issues and this Best Western is no different.
