Best Western Plus Kingston Hotel and Conference Center

For my boyfriends 30th birthday, there was clearly no other choice but to take him to the Best Western in Kingston, NY. Why? Because is the only hotel with an indoor courtyard complete with an indoor game arena, pool, and fitness center. Watch your boyfriend do pull ups, get wet, then jump in the pool. Keep in mind, none of this was advertised. We discovered this by looking out the window of our room to discover an indoor courtyard of majesty and wonder. We quickly jumped from the window of our room into the wonderland we had discovered and investigated all the attractions. The arcade area contained some state of the art circa 1990-2003 games available to play. One at a time we discovered that the games either did not work at all, or only partially worked. The only working games were the claw machines containing mets 2000 world series memorabilia and Nintendo Wii games. The pool tables? No balls. The air hockey tables? No pucks. In order to continue to try our luck on these machines we continued to use a debit card to withdraw proprietary coins only usable at this particular hotel arcade. Think you're going to use these coins at another hotel arcade? Jokes on you buddy, Best Western got you good. The only working machines were the claw machines. Which yielded several rubber ducks, and the prize of the night, a strangely labeled Turkish children's baby doll. This doll of course has been adopted as our only child. Unfortunately the machine that exchanges debit card transactions for the arcade coins charges 25 cents per dollar withdrawn. VERY SNEAKY BEST WESTERN. I see how these guys are making ends meet. The complimentary breakfast was good, but it was no La Quinta, I have to say.

I stayed at this hotel the 2nd to last week in October 2019 The accommodations were comfortable, the men and women who put the breakfast out where friendly. Unfortunately, the front desk needs works. I want to emphasize: THE YOUNG LADY WITH THE LONG DARK AND THE GENTLEMAN WITH THE GLASSES WHO WORK THE MORNING SHIFT WERE LOVELY. THEY WERE FRIENDLY AND POLITE. WONDERFUL. However, there is another gentleman with glasses who works the evening shift who was not friendly at all. When I walked into the lobby to check in, he stopped what he was doing and started at me for a good 7 seconds, before he asked if could help me. He seemed to be in shock. I felt like a martian. After I checked in and had been in my room for a few hours, I realized that I had forgotten toothpaste. I returned to the front desk to ask for some and when he returned to the front desk, he threw it on the counter and said, "Here you go." Incredibly rude. Made me feel like a leper and unwelcome. Please work on customer service skills for this gentlemen. He needs improvement on how to make guests feel welcome.

Great location, front desk staff were helpful. I love the indoor pool and fitness center. If you are going skiing in the surrounding area, this is a great place to stay at. The resturant on site is good so I did not have to go out for dinner if I was wiped out from skiing.

Would have given a 5 rating if the vending machines and the coffee maker in the room were working. Very friendly staff. Very clean inside and out. Many breakfast choices to choose from. Location is perfect close to any store, restaurant, or local history you wish to visit or see.

We were in town for the polar express. Right away we had an issue as our rooms were on the first floor right next to the parking lot entrance. I am trying to use the entrance with my kids but 4 people are blocking the door smoking. I say something to them. They flip me off. I call the front desk and they send security. I now need to walk around to the main entrance carrying my little one. Security does come but people don't leave. My room now smells like an ash try. I mean an actual ash tray. My daughter who has asthma is coughing up a storm. It's a non smoking hotel. The hotel has sign which says stand back 20 feet but they put the ash try 5 feet away from the sign. This is an issue. I understand and respect they need a place to smoke but right in front of the door is not it. I call the front desk and they move me to another room. Now I have to pack up the kids and move. The elevator lights were out and it's was so dark you couldn't see. The pool was cloudy. Some of the arcade games didn't work. Woke up in the middle of the night and we were actually freezing because the heat was off. I mean it's December upstate, why is the heat off? Breakfast was an epic nightmare as they were out of everything and couldn't keep up with the demand. The lady managing the process that morning less than capable. I mean out of food. Plates. Forks. Plus, it's is less than 5 minutes from the polar express and right off the highway.

Room: Perfect Exercise Room: Very good. Pool: Very nice Bistro: Hit or Miss. Go if you're hungry and don't want to get out of your liesure clothes to travel or walk to another restaurant. Prices are not high. Breakfast: Very Good, but no oatmeal was available the last hour of service. Staff: Great! Location: Right off highway. Neighborhood: OK to walk around - at least in daylight, as did I for a couple of miles. Restaurants and all kinds of stores in walking distance. Many conference rooms! Arcade for kids of all ages in the center indoor courtyard.

We have stayed here before and liked it. That's why we came back... BUT, this place has slid downhill since last time. The Front Staff were ALL great - especially Colin, and the breakfast was VERY good (don't forget to try the breakfast potatoes). Dinner was big and very fairly priced. But this is where it stops. No hot water (only Luke warm), EXTREMELY spotty internet, no exhaust in the bathroom (I'm not even sure that this is not a code violation) and on BOTH MORNINGS, despite the fact that we screamed “NO, GET OUT!!!”, the housekeepers still came into our room - NOT GOOD. You have a LOT of explaining to do in order to get me back - and it's too bad

Was looking forward to my visit but because of the hotels relationship with the holiday train ventures it was not a peaceful stay. Kids took over the hotel. Best part was the breakfast and the staff. If you book a room get it away from the pool. Bathrooms also need updating. Otherwise decent stay but won't be my first choice for my next Kingston visit. Great hotel for families with kids but if you don't just check before booking to find out what is going on that week.

Easy to find, great location, nice breakfast, comfortable and quiet. Hotel layout is very spread out and we were lucky enough to get a room with a view of a river. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Wait staff friendly !

Room was spacious and clean. Staff was pleasant and engaging. Location is great, easy to find and convenient. Breakfast was good, plenty to choose from and was presented very well. Would recommend this hotel.

This hotel has been my family's "Go To" Hotel for the last three years. Every year we stay, we are more satisfied. The hotel is about 15-20 minutes away from SUNY New Paltz. The staff members are extremely caring and professional. The breakfast is above average for a Best Western Plus. The fitness center and pool are more on the upscale side and are immaculate. The hotel has earned the Best Western Premier label in my mind. We look forward to returning next year!

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. Decent sized rooms, nice linens, large pool and family arcade area, guest laundry facilities. The staff was very nice. Definitely would stay here again.

Overnight visit for anniversary and leaf peeking. This is an exceptionally nice hotel. The food was good and drinks in the lounge were very relaxing after a day of driving. Room was quite and very clean. Staff was pleasant and helpful. A very nice stay. Would love to have stayed longer; but must travel on-----foliage waits for no one..

Arrived on 10/13/2019. When we went to our room is was dark, dirty, and the bathroom was so small you could barely shut the door to use it. It overlooked a roof that was over the indoor atrium. I called the front desk asking if I could get a room that was cleaner and not so dark. He rudely asked me if it was the, "color scheme" that wasn't to my liking. I told him, "no" it was not about the "color scheme" but I refused to stay in a room that was so dark, dirty, and with a bathroom that was so small. He reluctantly moved us to another room, but not before having housekeeping show up to see if we didn't take anything. The second room was better but not by much. This hotel needs help and I'm not sure how it received the "Plus" after the BW name.

Very enjoyable stay at this Best Western in Kingston. Hotel staff was very helpful, restaurant had good food for dinner (penne with blackened chicken in spicy marinara sauce), and the hot breakfast was a great way to start my day. When I hike again in this area, I'll definitely return to this hotel. The room was extremely clean and quiet, the bed comfortable, and the location convenient. I've done a lot of hiking in the Catskills and Adirondacks (ADK 46er) and have had very positive experiences at all of the Best Western hotels I've stayed at in the past 3 years.

Broken bath tub, tight room, and a snippy front desk worker. The purpose of my stay was to look for potential hotels for my wedding guests. I understand that for the amount of people that I have coming to the wedding, the best western has the best amount of rooms, but my family and I were not wowed with the service we received and if they aren't going to wine and dine the bride, how can I expect my guests to have a pleasurable stay.

I was brought to town suddenly, due to a relative's serious accident, requiring surgery, and spent days at the local Hospital. It was a day by day experience. The Hotel was" There " for me , in every way.

We stayed at best Western hotel to enjoy the garlic festival. The staff upon checking in was excellent, they asked about us getting to the hotel and gave the kids a treat they also offered the adults!!

My single room was in the back on the first floor where I had to walk past all the cleaners' closets, etc. to get to the lobby. Very dark, untidy & uninviting. The bedroom was fine. It has been updated & looked nice. The bed was comfortable, good linens & pillows. Attractive, albeit dark decor. Large TV, frig, micro, iron, hair dryer. The carpet is still in good shape. The AC units are typical of old motels with their noise & air stream. Unfortunately, the dark brown painted woodwork on all the doors is badly nicked up & looks terrible, bringing down the overall good appearance of the room. The bathroom is in dire need of do-over. The sink has probably been replaced but the tub/shower is falling apart. There is a hole under the tub faucet, tile is cracked all around the soap dish & faucet, the grout is in terrible shape. Yes, and a lone ant was wandering around. One morning at 6:00, 3 men, apparently workers, stood right outside my window having a conversation for half an hour. The walls are so thin, I could hear what they were saying. Overhead walking noises were also very loud so apparently sound-proofing was not part of the multi-million dollar makeover, either. The breakfasts were excellent with lots of variety, as was the one dinner we had there. I found the enclosed pool area rather tacky & gloomy but the fitness center was good sized. Wouldn't stay there again. I'm being generous with an average rating.

I was only there one night on my way to Maine. One of the reasons I chose Best Western was their policy of allowing dogs. I had my small poodle with me and there was plenty of space to give her a walk in the evening and in the morning. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. The location was perfect for someone on the way to somewhere else.

Great breakfast staff. Has good parking for trucks. Excellent clean rooms. The food for dinner was great. love the NY strip with the butter added. The girls and the manager on the breakfast shift work together to please everyone and food was great. thanks BW. One of my best stays.

Very nice, friendly staff, great service. Gave us a nice motorcycle welcome package with rag, chapstick and a key chain and let us park our bikes under the awning. Good room, clean. Comfortable, large bed.

Fabulous hotel, great customer service, super clean and functional. Nice options for breakfast. Great location, lots of restaurants within 10 min, grocery store 2 blocks from there, gaz station just around the corner as well as I87.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Extensive complimentary breakfast with hot and cold foods. Heated indoor pool. Arcade area with pool tables and air hockey. Above average fitness center adjacent to the pool.

Our experience at the Best Western Plus was truly exception. The room was well lI'd out and comfortable. The breakfast (included in the price) was delicious and the fitness center / pool area was thoroughly enjoyable. While on the treadmill, which overlooks the pool, I saw the maintenance person fastidiously clean the pool and the traps. At the bar, the bartender was both personable and knowledgeable.

Bedroom facilities are very nice however there was no ceiling lighting and as a consequence the room was relatively dark. Bathroom was fine with replacement towels each day however due to us occupying room until mid afternoon (dressing and preparing for a later wedding) the beds were not made up or anything tidied up. We were out of room from 3pm until midnight. Disappointing. Breakfast was average. Limited seating was available although it was apparent more could have been offered as they did on our second day. Not well organised. The toaster was poor--extremely slow and only took 4 pieces of bread. For a quality hotel they should have a rotating toaster where several clients can place bread on it at a time.

When I arrived no greeting, did not offer to help with our bags. We had a so called pet friendly room that was old, dirty and smelled. To remeady the situation they came in with a air freshener ,they did change my room which was somewhat better. The hotel is very run down and for $300.00 per night it was not worth it. Wasn't much to choose from in the area for a pet friendly hotel. So I choose best western because I thought it was a good name. Needs lots of work, unfriendly staff and I wouldn't recommend it .

2nd time we stayed here. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Affordable as well. Hotel built aound a courtyard that contains a very nice indoor pool. They have a very good breakfast and dinner as well. We will be back!

Not worth the price. Beds and pillows were comfortable, but bathroom was dirty. There was hair and soap scum in the bathtub. It also smelled moldy. Tiles look original. And decor looks like 1990s, and the items looked that old.

This hotel was way too expensive! It's more like a $99-$149/night hotel. I've stayed at resorts where the rooms are cheaper and the hotel itself would blow this hotel and rooms out of the water in every single category. I felt like this hotel was sort of renovated.The bathroom was small, but ok. It still had the rusted clothes line option in the bathtub and the door was made of crappy luan wood and Brady bunch gold door knobs. The decor throughout the hotel and rooms is quite dark, but not terrible. That being said, the breakfast was excellent the rooms were nice and cold and the showers were nice and hot. Would have given 4-5 stars if the price was 1/2a

Stayed here for a couple of days for a wedding we were attending off-site. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The pool area and fitness centre were perfect and clean. The kids loved the pool and would have stayed there all day - Towels are on the very small side and could be bigger. The only draw-back was how busy breakfast was, and how abrasive the team was working the buffet - I found them to not be helpful, responsive, and a little abbrasive. The food was fresh and they kept up with the high demand, but when going to get hot water or coffee at 9:45 it was gone and the answer was "it's all done at 10" Coffee and Tea are the easiest things to leave out while other items are cleaned up and closed. But the rest of the experience was good and would stay here again.

The room had very poor A/C and I was a little pressed for time (to get ready for a wedding) so I didn't ask for a different room. I didn't have time to get into that argument if I had to. I thought the room would cool down while I was gone over the next 8-9 hours, but no, it didn't. Shuttle to the event - no A/C, so that was extra special too.

The hotel is set back from the road, so there is no highway noise. The hallways were quiet at night. The mattress was comfortable. Breakfast included good scrambled eggs, coffee, and pastries. The only negative was that wi-fi was occasionally disrupted and cable TV lost the signal for a few seconds here and there. I recommend asking for a room with exterior windows.

We have always enjoyed our stays at the Best Western in Kingston, New York. The positives are theManagement, location, the lounge and breakfast in the morning. The staff is always professional and very helpful.

Our room had absolutely no natural light, felt like a dungeon. Shower water was not very hot and pressure was not high enough. However, bed was comfortable and slept in a little because it was sooo dark!

This property was very convenient to the Hudson Valley sights we were interested in. It was right off the thruway. The hotel was a bit busy on Sunday night because it was Memorial Day weekend (and the price was higher) but our stay was not impacted. The price for Monday night was very good and the hotel was considerably emptier. The complimentary breakfast was better than average, with very attentive staff. We did not dine at the restaurant, but there were several nearby options for lunch or dinner. (The Ice Cream Castle is also nearby!) The hotel also has a fitness center and indoor pool off a huge inner courtyard that also features arcade games.

The place is clean and newly remodeled, so that's a plus. It is not what it appears in photos. It sits in the back of a shady looking parking lot. The courtyard reminds me of an enclosed prison yard and smells terribly like chlorine. Thankfully, we were in and out. Skip the breakfast.

Great value for your money. Pets are allowed, hot breakfast, and military discount. Enough room for the dog to walk on the grounds. Room did smell like stagnant air, otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Plus? I don't think so. It's your run of the mill Best Western, nothing more. We were here for a wedding in Kingston this weekend and our hosts had blocks of rooms both here and at the Marriott Courtyard. We chose to stay here only because our hosts were staying here along with close friends. First, it's hard to believe this property underwent a multi-million dollar renovation any time recently. Our room was tired and the bathroom barely adequate in size. The bathtub seems old and the shower head is placed too low for even a 6' person who had to duck to feel comfortable when washing hair. The HVAC is not a central system and the room unit under the window was noisy when the thermostat kicked the unit on, so much so that it woke us up several times during our two night stay and we had to turn up the volume on the TV to hear it. The TV was up to date with plenty of channels listed but we could not get NBC or ESPN due to "no signal". Other channels we didn't care about showed no signal as well. My wife felt the room was dusty although that was not something that jumped out at me. On the positive side, the lobby, lounge and restaurant seem up to date and the complementary breakfast buffet was actually pretty good. Wi-fi was included and worked well. The hotel is conveniently located right off the NY Thruway but the driveway entry is difficult to find the first time you approach. Once found, however, you'll have no problem thereafter. Overall, the property may be considered a "plus" within the Best Western scope of quality but it's not close to being comparable with Courtyard standards.

My room was clean and comfortable. The staff (front desk, bar/lounge) were very friendly and professional. The hotel offers free high-speed WiFi which I greatly appreciated because it helped me conduct business during my stay.

Stayed here for one night with my husband and 2 year old as a break point for our drive from Montreal to Toronto. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful, happy to provide extra towels for us and an extra room key when the toddler accidentally lost one. We stayed in a twin room and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean albeit fairly small which was a bit tricky with the 2 year old. We had dinner at the lounge which had a simple menu but was sufficient for us. The lounge had a great atmosphere and decor and is an easy dinner option when you stay. There is also a more 'high end' bistro on site if you prefer and the hotel is also conveniently located near a grocery store, petrol station and other fast food restaurants. We had the included breakfast which served yoghurt, fruit, toasts, scrambled eggs, sausages, fried potatoes and make your own waffles. Overall, we were very happy with our short stay.

Clean, effiicient, REAL BREAKFAST.... even had hot sauce! much above average... and much better than the last TWO BW's I stayed at! HOT breakfast was substantial (not the cellophane wrapped imitation Danishes at other places). Good choice and right near the highway...

We enjoyed our stay. Pet friendly, good breakfast, nice game room, close to shopping, nice area near pool to eat and visit.. The bed was very comfortable, clean room, nice and friendly staff. We will stay here every time we go to NY.

Took about an hour to check in due to a lost booking. Later, they found the booking and noted that I had not been charged yet. Knocked on my door at 10:00 PM to have me walk up to the front desk to pay. Got an apology, and a full room charge out of it. I wont be staying here again.

I make an annual trip every spring to visit my family in Kingston. In those visits I have stayed at the Kingston Best Western every time. In that time, I have learned to request a room not on the indoor pool side (too noisy and humid). Otherwise, it's a nice place to stay. But on this trip I had an unfortunate experience. The front desk service was fine and the room was great but the following day I took a shower. Upon opening the curtains, I saw the tub drain was off kilter, so I went to straighten it, and it fell in all the way closed. I managed to get it up and with it came all this hair. OK.... then when in the shower, I noticed a smell and looked up to see mildew on the ceiling. So please fix the tub in room 203.

Overall, this hotel met my needs for a single night stay in the Kingston area to attend an evening meeting in a nearby town. This looks like it is also a popular spot for construction personnel since there were a lot of company trucks and other vehicles so it seems to work well for them. The main lobby and breakfast area look to have been recently updated. I didn't need any of them but the pool area looked impressive and I could see a number of meeting areas. The room I stayed in was quite clean and the bed was very comfortable, it was just rather old and a little dated. The parking lot and driveways are in need of a major overhaul but that is not a major issue. The hotel is very quiet, at least in my room so it was easy to get a good night's sleep and, after all, that's what you mainly want from a hotel. Along with the reasonable rates and location near the Thruway and the city, I would definitely recommend this hotel

The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very tight for space, but functional. Breakfast was good, get there early. The locations was not so obvious, but I found it. I rarely ever give 5 stars, so take from that what you will.

We stayed in one of the smaller, older rooms and the bed was very comfortable, with window facing a small creek and a parking lot, so it was quiet and peaceful. The hotel has an interesting set-up - with triangular enclosed inner space that houses a pool, a glass-enclosed gym, and a children's arcade. This is not a plush venue, but somehow it met all of our weekend needs just perfectly. There is a small bar/restaurant on premises with good fare. I would especially like to mention that were there for a large event, with a very boisterous group of several hundred people. The management and staff were incredible: they resolved every question and every issue with a smile and a genuinely nice attitude. Kudos to you all for being such a wonderfully professional team!

The hotel itself and staff were fine. We just ran into some rather annoying issues that ruined our stay. When we got to our room, we discovered a fair amount of ants in there. It was evening and we were only staying the night, so we didn't want to make a big deal about it. During the course of the evening, more and more ants appeared to be gathering in the bathroom. Again, we thought we'd just deal with it until morning. Late at night, ants started to make their way to the beds. On top of that, very loud, obnoxious and drunk people got to their room next to ours, started slamming doors and making lots of noise and talking loudly. We were irritated to the point that we didn't think we'd get back to sleep, so we just decided to drive home. The front desk offered to move us but it was after 1am and we didn't think we'd be getting any sleep after moving all our stuff. The ants were bad enough, the trashy people were the final straw.

I actually was told about this hotel only a few hours before my check in. I ended up staying here and it was no mistake. One of the nicer BW in the country. The staff was great and the rooms where very clean. If you are ever in the area choose the BW of Kingston!

Wasn't a bad stay just visitors that stayed the same time we did were disrespectful of the nonsmoking rules. Internet was slow but that's anywhere you go. Was disappointed to see they no longer had the sauna and hot tub. Other than that the stay was comfortable.

I don't think I would stay again. I was so disappointed with the overall experience. My entire party reserved approximately 66 rooms in the hotel. I myself had 8. I was the mother of the bride. First I was shocked that the honeymoon suite wasn't comped for the bride and groom. I dealt with the sales staff who I was unhappy with to say the least. The constant miscommunications were terrible. I reserved a "premier room?" the court yard must have hosted a party I'm hoping during the day on Thursday and when I spoke to the front desk on Friday afternoon to see if they would be cleaning the area they looked and spoke to me like I had some nerve asking. Chafing dishes where left out, chairs piled table clothes thrown over and rolled up and put on chairs. I'm running out of space to write more however I did tell the venue who recommends this hotel that they should reconsider giving recommendation and should pull it from their list. A completely dissatisfied customer.

Hotel is located in an extremely convenient spot, right off the 87. Great restaurant and bar inside and plenty of pizza places or cafes outside. Personnel is very professional, friendly and always available for help. Room and all other areas are clean and well maintained. Parking is very comfortable too. Enjoyed my weekend with friends

The hotel was very nice and had a lot to offer for the price! Clean nice redone rooms. Stayed 1 night for family ski trip to Belleayre.had dinner there too and food was surprisingly good for a hotel. The only problem was the WiFi was not working for us because too many people were logged in. Not sure if this always happens or if it was just a problem during our stay. Overall I would recommend.

Check in was quick and easy. Staff were very pleasant. Very inviting lobby. Rooms were spotless. Everything we needed and more for a nice stay. Coffee, tea, microwave, fridge, iron, ironing board, etc. etc. Perfect. The pool area, while very nice, could be more inviting with some grass or turf areas and some trees and plants and /or planters. Very "barren" feeling. Breakfast is excellent, if you're up to waiting in a long line. This was due to people making waffles. They held up the line. We waited in the breakfast line for about 20 minutes to simply get eggs and juice. This should be addressed. Put the waffle makers off to the side by themselves. A seperate line. We were going to go back to get an English Muffin, but didn't have the will to stand for another 20 minutes to get one. We went to Quick Check and got something instead. That was our only complaint, but substantial. We'd stay again, but we need to be better prepared to wait to have juice or breakfast. Hopefully this can be fixed.

I stay at this Best Western Plus when ever there is a snow storm as it is the closest to my job. I always request the same room and they always accommodate my request. The rooms have a warm, cozy feel and the sheets always feel so crisp and clean. I love that the bathrooms have magnifying mirrors and even night lights. The complimentary breakfast is amazing! It has everything you could imagine and the eggs are made fresh in their kitchen. They are not microwaved like most of the free breakfasts at the other hotels. The cheese danish was very high quality and I was told all the danish comes from the local bakery down the street. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I always feel right at home when I stay here.

The hotel is conveniently close to the highway. Rooms were well-maintained and comfortable. Breakfast has a good variety of options for many eating styles. There is not a lot of comfortable lounging space outside of the rooms because the courtyard is incredibly dim, especially at night. Not all areas of the hotel are well-maintained. The machinery in the arcade is only partly functional. Staff was generally friendly and helpful. Hotel was extremely messy when we arrived. it seemed like they didn't have enough staff to recover from the last group. But, without many people, they seemed to take care of things fine.

This is a good place to stay if you want to go to woodstock and don't want to stay at pricier places ...it's about 20 miles from Hunter which is where we were going but it was fine. The hotel is nice and reasonable prices.

We stayed here for a weekend with a group of friends and were very impressed with this hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in anyway possible to accommodate us. We booked the gazebo room for the meals and meetings It's a perfect size room for 50-60 people The rooms were very clean and beds are very comfortable I definitely recommend this place and plan on returning again

The hotel is about 40 min away from Hunter Mountain but we chose to stay here because everything in Hunter was overpriced or sold out. If you don't mind the distance then this is a great choice. Nice indoor pool, arcade, clean rooms, and free breakfast. Lots of food options in Kingston.

Everyone is so egar to please and take care of you. James and John are so accommodating, both when you are there and when calling to make reservations. The rooms are very clean. I always bring my dog and never got a room that smelt bad or was not clean enough.

This Best Western is snuggly tucked away near a small river for quiet and more. The food was amazing! Fresh tasty and a very very good deal. Twas a chilly night at the end of a sunny day history ramble on the Hudsen River. Exhusted we opted for picking up a “to-go”” dinner to eat in our room. And wow! This hotel has nice intrasture. a lovely ambiance in dining room and bar, a modern yet cosy family seating area by a fire place The whole facility is fresh painted and charming in a 70's vintage way with a completely 2019 entrance and dinning area. No cramped infrastructure here. The beds are the ultra comfortable poofy qualty BW is renowned for., yet slightly skimpy on pillows. The modern showers and details were fine. A great secret oasis to escape to. There is a nice pool and generously sized children's arcade... We got river view.. and slept soundly. Front desk was great on the intial meeting but they seemed irrated when i needed helped with several things that didn't work. Mu key cards stopped working and i had to return yet again becaue the remade one's didnt work.. a unwarm man grilled me about my ID which was locked in my room.. i alittle exhausted and a BW member for twelve years was astonished by his curtness and attitude unlike ANY other BW experiences i have had. All other service people were AWESOME. Great place.. The intial exterior impression was daunting.. but it isa very nice place.

My family and I stayed overnight after taking the kids to the Polar express ride .The polar Express ride is only 5 minutes away and in fact some of the elves stay at the hotel , even saw santa claus in plain clothes eating breakfast there. The kids had a good time , they enjoyed the warm indoor pool which was open until 10pm . There was a small arcade there that the kids played some games. The morning breakfast was delicious and we would visit again next time we in Kingston .

Clean hotel with indoor pool. Unfortunately a family was in the pool with a small baby wearing a diaper. I find that gross and I questioned the hygiene of the pool I had wanted to use. Also the woman with very short hair at the front desk was quite unfriendly and just not nice. It takes nothing to be nice... Won't stay again

Was here for a wedding and probably would not have stayed here if it wasn't a shuttle pick-up spot. Hotel was very basic, even though the room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. No luxury perks or anything, and it came off as quite dark. Part of the problem is that much of the hotel is structured around an interior arcade so your “window” would look out at the interior of the hotel—not the outdoors. I had an outdoors-facing room but still not much to see as the location of the hotel is strip mall style, off the side of a busy road with fast food restaurants in sight. Breakfast is included but I didn't get to try it out. I'm not sure what else is in this area but I imagine there must be at least a few historic bed and breakfasts that would have much better ambience. Not a bad option for the immediate off the road area but not a stay with lots of style either.

Convenient location, spacious room with comfortable beds. Free breakfast is not bad, hot food (sausage, scrambled eggs, bacon, potato) is not overcooked or too salty. Rooms facing the enclosed atrium have its pros and cons. It's convenient to get to exercise room, pool, and arcade area. However, since pool is open till 10pm, it is not an ideal choice if you need to sleep early. IMO, not worth the extra cost for these rooms because of the noise.

I have my standards when choosing hotels and I never overlook the Best Western Plus brand. We came for a few days to enjoy winter activities at Hunter Mountain. This hotel held up to the standards I would expect from BWP. It is nicely decorated with modern touches and an indoor heated pool. The rooms have everything you need including a microwave and fridge. The WiFi is strong and the room and linens were super clean. We didn't bring our pup but I like that the hotel allows pets for a reasonable fee. It's a little ways away from Kings Plaza but only a 10 min drive. That's the trade off for a cheaper price and I didn't mind. Much better hotel class than what you find in the Hunter Mountain area but you do have to drive 40 min to get there. Another trade off but the drive really didn't feel like 40 minutes with all the scenery.

We didn't know the Polar Express was so busy bringing families in to fill the place during December. Room was fine, but they didn't clean our room until I called after 3pm Saturday, they were so busy. They came up immediately and quickly made beds, did the bathroom with lots of apologies. Their breakfast was excellent. They tried to accommodate the huge numbers and spread the breakfast out to other rooms.they didn't heat the rooms, but did have a second buffet that did a good job. It would have helped if they all the larger families use the larger tables in the overflow rooms. Overall nice place, but staff had their hands full during the special kids season!

The hotel staff and food were very good but the hotel is in a much needed update it is showing its age with carpets being very worn throughout the facility, bathroom and shower needing repair and updating.

If you come to Kingston to do the Polar Express Train ride which is just 5 mins down the road make sure you book an overnight stay at the BW. Great hotel and price. The only problem we had we did not make a reservation for dinner at the Capitol Bistro which is located in the hotel and offered a kids eat free with an adult meal. So the restaurant could not handle our party of 10 without a wait of over 2 hours so we had to order pizza and eat by the pool. Which was not too bad. Besides that the Train Ride was great and so was the hotel.

I booked this at the last minute after checking out of what could only be described as the Bates motel. What a relief! I was somewhat frazzled when I checked in and the desk clerk could not have been kinder. Our room was clean, very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was perfect for us, and we did order from the restaurant and the food was good. Would definitely recommend for a stay in the Hudson Valley!

Planned a quick day trip to see the hudson valey foilage. This hotel is brand new and worth it. It has all you need and is a decent price. The pool is great, the staff is friendly and is walkable to town.

This is an older hotel that needs an upgrade (including some paint). Halls are dark & dingy. Hotel pricing is absurd. Fri/Sat nights- $269 per night. Sunday- $104-145. Huge discrepancy. Breakfast coffee was very weak, the coffee in the room is much better. Lots of oil/grease in the bacon/sausage trays- food was dripping in it. Staff at front desk really didn't seem interested in their work. *Bed was comfortable though. We would not recommend this hotel due to rip off prices for what you have to pay.

I recently stayed at Best Western while on a short tour in the area. I would stay there again. My room was just fine - no problems whatsoever. One night I had the opportunity to eat at the restaurant on-site. The food was delicious and came in very generous portions. The service was first rate. Our server went to great effort to pack a doggie bag for me of my leftovers - along with utensils, etc. needed to reheat the meal in my room microwave and eat there. There is a bar area associated with the restaurant for those who might want a nightcap after a day's outing. I'd like to visit again when I have time to try out some of the facilities such as the pool. There are some restaurants (some casual) within a short distance of the hotel.

Stayed In October 2018 with 2 small dogs. Had a great, easy visit. Breakfast was very good and the hostess was very attentive. Easy hotel to find and close to restaurants. Only about 15 mins away from Woodstock.

We stayed there three nights. Check-in and check out was quick! Staff is great; very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and breakfast was very good. Our room was 129 . Its first floor . There is a supermarket just 5 min from hotel. I would recommend this hotel.

You generally know what you get at the BW brand spacious functional bedrooms good bathrooms and a sustaining breakfast with good choice of food. This BW is well located and offers conference facilities so there are functions going on particularly over the weekend. Also it has a pretty reasonably priced restaurant always useful if you don't have a car. Good Wi-fi andTV. Slightly surreal pool area covered in with a well equipped gym. Ask for rooms in the ground floor 300s next to the rover much quieter!

Hotel was excellent. Great location close to highway, great salt water pool, good food for dinner and breakfast. Dinner special very reasonable and included salad and glass of wine. Comfortable, quiet room. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Former Holiday Inn now rebranded. This is a very old hotel that had some recent renovations. Very dark interior and showing years of wear. Spend a few extra bucks and go to hotels on other side of town.

I have stayed at this hotel twice within the last year. This hotel is located to many exciting area attractions that Kingston has to offer. The staff are professional and the rooms are clean. We enjoy the many amenities that the hotel offers such as the fitness center, swimming pool, and complimentary breakfast. Look forward to returning in the near future.

We were very comfortable. We didn't use their internet, but everything was in working order. The chambermaid asked us if we had a great stay. The receptionist was very helpful with directions. Restaurants were within walking distance.

Another great stay here. I came up to visit my daughter, grand children and friends. This is my third time staying here after moving from the Hudson Valley to North Carolina. Some friends said that I could stay with them, but I declined, because I told them unless you have a bar, restaurant with a full breakfast, fitness center, an indoor pool, and an arcade for my grandkids, I'm staying at the Best Western!

The internet service rarely worked in our room. The electronic key worked only half the time. I regularly had to walk back to the front desk for a new key, yet the reception staff blamed it on something else each time. The toilet was very slow to flush and made noises when not used. Rooms facing the indoor pool area smelled of moisture or something. The layout of the rooms was incredibly confusing and elevators were not identified well. We kept running into other guests who couldn't find their rooms or the way back to the lobby. On the plus side, the staff was pleasant and the free breakfast was well stocked. Most rooms were connecting, making it easy for families to book together.

We arrived and were greeted at the front desk. Very easy check-in. Rooms were roomy and clean with comfortable beds. We had a wonderful Breakfast the next day. The indoor pool looked very nice, although we did not have the time to use. Also, they had a nice gaming area for kids. Overall the hotel was wonderful.

This hotel has an nice indoor pool, arcade area with pool tables also. The hotel is dog friendly and has a good free breakfast with waffles, bacon etc. It's dog walking area is near a lazy river. There is an in-house restaurant and bar area but there are some good restaurants and bars locally that are better.

We only picked this location by chance as we were traveling south from Vermont. I think Best Western has a fairly good reputation. The price was reasonable too. Everything was clean, organized and perfect! We had a drink at bar and later dinner in restaurant! All great!! The breakfast in the morning was quite tasty too.

I stayed at Best Western for my sons wedding. The free breakfast was really good with fresh food and lots of selection. The beds were comfortable. We experianced lots of noise in parking lot at 1 to 2am and front desk did not respond to it right away. We also had no one clean our room.

We had a blast here! The pool was perfect. It was indoors along side the game room. So, while I was in the pool my kids were able to play in the small arcade. If I had to make a complaint about that area, it would be the the pool tables could use some new sticks. But, otherwise it was a lot of fun! The rooms were clean and comfortable! I worked in housekeeping in the past. So, I have a tendency to look at everything! Our first room we were in had wet carpet from the AC. I called to front desk and they had maintenance there within minutes of me calling. We opted to stay in that room for a couple days. But, it unfortunately happened again. They were very accommodating. They moved us to a new room. They offered to help us move our belongings as well. Never once did anyone have a negative attitude! The staff was great! The breakfast was also really good! My kids are so much! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone in the area!

We've never stayed at a BW plus....we usually head for hamptons or HI Express....but man am i glad we did! Huge heated saltwater pool....restaurant and bar on site....ridiculously helpful and friendly staff....even the guy by the counter who helped out and may or may not have worked there! Lol. Thats an inside joke...but this staff is great....the hotel is nice and clean with plenty of amenities....not only would i stay here again, we will start looking for BW plus locations as we travel all over the country!

Our stay was nice. It was nice to be able to take our little dog with us. There are many people that are not picking up after their pets, but unfortunately, that's everywhere. Breakfast was good, room was nice and comfortable. My husband liked the pool. Would stay there again.

This hotel is in a bad location surrounded by parking lots and suburban sprawl. The hallways were dark and damp with dull carpets that stunk of cleaning fluid. The breakfast was a bland institutional nightmare except for the excellent bacon. I felt depressed in the room looking out on a strip of crabgrass ringed with poison ivy. The place sucked the joy out of the wedding we were attending.

We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the wonderful staff. The hotel is located in a busy area and close to a wonderful pizzeria, and we have no complaints or issues with noise, traffic, or other disturbances.

This is a decent property. Well located, clean comfortable, etc. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast included. The pet policy says you may not leave your pet in your room unattended. So how do you go to lunch, dinner or whatever when you cannot leave them in a place with a safe temperature??? We arrived late and left early so it was not a problem for us. Rating dropped from 4 to 3.

We recently held a family reunion at this hotel. They provided us with a suite where our group could gather together and get to know one another. They also made sure this suite was near the courtyard with tables so people could gather there and still be a part of things. We had our banquet there where we received many compliments on the food and the service. They kept checking with us to make sure things were working out well and timed the cleanup so it did not interfere with our speaker. A friend and I shared the suite and found it to be clean and comfortable. The staff was amazing to work with and we hope to return for another reunion in 3 years.

This was a very pleasant pitstop on our trip to Vermont. We took a chance on a discounted rate, and were thrilled with this hotel. The lobby, halls and rooms were remodeled beautifully. The Atrium style courtyard was nice and had a pool; while the lobby had a restaurant and bar. You don't see this style hotel any more. They are all cookie cutter boxes with free breakfast lobbies. The only way to make the atrium pool area nicer would be the addition of some trees and plants. Otherwise, this Hotel is wonderful.

This is a very dated hotel ...staff was ok ,,,nothing spectacular ,,,room was old , window sheers had stains and the grout in the bathroom needed replaced or cleaned or updated...sorry ... it is a very old,sad, place...Asked to have a room away from the road ...that is what we got ..in all fairness - if it wasn't available ,TELL ME That ,,,

I was coming to Kingston for a family function and needed a Hotel that was pet friendly, The weather was going to be about 100 degrees and I wanted a safe cool place for them to stay during the party as well as a place to sleep after the party. When I called to make the reservation I was told I would be put in a section of the hotel that was meant for those with dogs..okay cool. My stay started with me checking in and getting to hear the women at the counter talk about how one of them was there on Saturday because she was covering for another girl to which the woman checking me in(K.C) told her that its because the girl hasnt shown up or called in 4 days and is no longer working there, she got an "ohhhh so no call no shows"...im sorry but that should not be talked about in mixed company. The rooms are kinda small for the price, nothing over exciting about them but we only needed to be there 1 night. we got our dogs settled and in their crates and left to go to a graduation party. I get a call from the hotel who left a message saying that my dogs were barking uncontrollably and that they had to move someone and was in the process of moving another . I called them back and was told that they dont know whats wrong with my dog, if its special or freaking out but I need to come back. So I said okay and asked if I was in the dog friendly part of the hotel...to which I was told "yes but dogs bark sometimes "-duh I leave the party and go to the hotel and guess what my dogs are not barking, theyre in their crates, they didnt bark until I opened the door which they do at home. I had to make arrangements with a family member and bring my dogs to their house for the remainder of the party. Now I know barking of dogs can be frustrating but my dogs travel with us all over and never have I gotten a complaint of my dogs barking "uncontrollably".

We stayed at this property for a night and enjoyed our stay. It was clean and was at a convenient location. There were quite a few restaurants nearby (in Rhinebeck area). Free breakfast and free parking! The lady at the reception (Kate) was very sweet & friendly:) gave us a quick history about Kingston while we were checking in.

Great complimentary breakfast, clean rooms, great service . We have been there several times. The price is reasonable. They have an indoor pool and a gym. Game room for the children. Convenient location, minutes from the New York State Thruway.

Our room had been relatively newly redecorated, but it seemed a bit drab because of the color scheme -- lots of dark browns. Other than that, the room was clean, the bed super comfy, and the staff friendly. The bathroom is semi-updated, but small, and the door placement was awkward. The room layout is the strangest that I've ever seen. Expecting to find room 300 on the third floor, we walked all over, only to discover that it was a wing on the first floor. Lots of corridors to confuse you. The rate for a weekend night was, for the accommodations, what I would call a bit dear, but it's location, location, location that dictates that.

The ceiling of our room was badly stained as if there had been a leak in the roof above. I would have expected the ceiling to have been better repaired. The set up of the hotel is very strange. We had a long walk to our section of the hotel. The pool area was nice. The breakfast area was very busy during our weekend stay. Breakfast was as good as any other hotel.

I stayed at the Best Western Plus Kingston with my 3 young children and we had a great experience. This hotel offers everything you could ask for business or leisure travel, with enough amenities to have a great weekend getaway. There is a large indoor courtyard with a pool, arcade and well equipped gym. The rooms are large and recently renovated, everything is spotless and the staff is welcoming and helpful. We ate dinner in the restaurant which had really tasty and well presented food, the pasta sauce is excellent and I learned from our gracious waitress that it is made in house. The breakfast buffet offers a good selection, including fresh fruit and make your own waffles. There is plenty of parking, a good business center and lots of public spaces. Overall a great value and find in the Kingston area, highly recommended.

Overpriced for what it was. I've definitely had better rooms for less money. When we arrived, things got off to a bit of a bad start, there were cheezits and popcorn bits on the floor. The tv kept losing its signal, we had to try to tighten the connections, see if that would help. The fridge wouldn't cool much at all, we used ice from the ice machine in bags as if it were a cooler rather than a fridge. The breakfast was pretty lacking. The fruit didn't look very fresh (apples and oranges every day). The potatoes should be a safe bet, but these were bad, as were the eggs. No bacon for the 3 mornings we were there (over a wkd), just sausage. The orange juice tasted bad. There was a waffle maker, but we wanted more that. We ended up going to the grocery store for our own fresh fruit and yogurt and keeping it in the fridge with bags of ice. The internet was a pain to connect to. Sometimes it took multiple tries for each of us. It has an odd setup that just doesn't work very well, and Norton kept warning us that it wasn't secure. Frustrating. There wasn't a vent in the bathroom, and the room smelled a bit damp. We had a few cool days so we opened the window a bit instead. It helped get some fresh air into the room. Definitely get an outside room, not a courtyard room. Overall, if you need a quick place to stay a night, it's a place to sleep, and the Hannaford grocery store nearby is good for fresh fruit/vegetables. But it's not a very relaxing or enjoyable place. Passable at the $125 rate, but not at all worth the $269+ nights.

Enjoyed a weekend here with hubby. Most importantly a clean room, friendly staff and good breakfast. Easy access, Right off main highway. Great room for the price, Would defiantly return . Only advice would be take out cups and coffee maker from bathroom, not sanitary.

We were driving through and just needed a place to lay our heads for the evening. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet (aside from the sound of the AC/Heat unit). Appears to have been recently renovated so good quality.

Appearance of lobby was good but hallways and room are very dark in color which makes it gloomy with a dirty feel. Service personnel were very courteous and helpful. Breakfast was good. Ask the desk what your room overlooks.

This property is a nice place to stop when traveling North out of New York City. There is easy highway access to property, which is well marked. There is a good restaurant open late. The service in the restaurant was very good. The meal choices were good. The Caesar Salad was good, as was the shrimp appetizer. Brownie dessert was yummy.

Place was very nice Night time front desk crew not so nice .i asked if they can fill up the water jug @ the front desk, seemed like I was bothering them . They didn't do it was told the kitchen was busy, she should have said no problem I will take care of it for you

It's an average place. We stayed there for our family ski trip. The Belleayre mountain is 45 minutes away. The personal is nice. The room had a very noisy heater. It was annoying. The restaurant has a good menu.

Good, clean hotel. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast was good- attendant was friendly and kept everything stocked and clean. Indoor pool has a VERY slippery deck surface. Also- there seemed to be some sort of club and there were people fighting in the hall in the middle of the night- screaming and cursing. Then the hotel security and police decided to stand right outside our door as they dealt with one of the people involved in the fight (and not so quietly either). Check in took a long time because hotels.com didn't book 2 rooms, so the hotel only received our request for 1 room (even though I had booked 2)- this wasn't the fault of the hotel, but the staff did take a very long time trying to deal with it.

We stayed there while travelling in the area on business. There are a lot of pluses; the room was clean and quite spacious. The staff is great; very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is about average. There are decent amenities; an indoor pool, a workout room, a large arcade for kids, a full bar and restaurant, some pet friendly rooms (at a reasonable extra charge). The only negatives were that the hallways seemed a bit dingy, and we, for example, had to walk a long way from an entrance to our room, through a number (maybe 5?) doors to get to it. So it gives a somewhat negative first impression. There are 3 "blocks" of rooms built in a triangle around a covered, heated courtyard, which initially seemed very different, but really was quite nice; that's where the pool and other facilities are, and it was a nice way to walk to the breakfast area/office (at least from the interior rooms like ours). It was a little pricey compared to area options, but we booked the same day we stayed.

Very good hotel. The staff were very friendly. Hotel was clean and comfortable with plenty of amenities. My stay was unplanned due to the snowstorm.. I am very happy with the service I received as well as the quality of my room. I give it 4 stars.

This hotel is near Harrimans outlets, excellent in house dining, the type of service and quality that Best Western is known for. Nice pool - great for families. We greatly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the summer.

Excellent location near the Thruway. We stayed two nights and drove to Hunter Mountain to ski, about 40 min away. In the past we have skied at Windham. Excellent buffet breakfast to start the day (included). Pool and game area is a nice addition, especially for the kids. Rooms are clean, beds are extremely comfortable. Nearby there are many eateries, malls, and movie theatre. I would definitely stay again.

Within hours of checking into my room, my credit charge had a charge of over $600 Canadian. My room was only supposed to be 366.64USD plus 60USD because I brought a pet--even with the conversion rates, this gets nowhere near 600CAD. I contacted front desk to inquire about this discrepancy. The woman became belligerent (a big word for the intelligent levels of this woman) and rude. She claimed that I knew nothing about taxes and that the room was 431USD plus 60USD PLUS taxes and that my card was charged 491USD "which I owed the hotel". I informed her that the hotel's website and app had listed my room WITH taxes at 366.64USD. She continued with her tirade claiming that I didn't know what I was talking about. I then contacted their customer service line who confirmed that the room was only 366.64USD. I also launched a fraud complaint with the Attorney General as the staff claimed a completely different price than anyone else involved. The rooms are dingy and the first floor smelt of weed I have tried to contact the manager a couple of times and staff began pretending to not understand English. Please, do not stay at this shame of a hotel where the staff try to pocket 130USD for themselves outside of Best Western.

This hotel was originally a Holiday Inn probably from the 60's. The lobby, lobby bar, and restaurant area has been redone nicely. The room I had was dressed up 5-7 years ago. The bathroom is old and the toilet seat was loose. The carpet could use a cleaning; very dusty in the corners. The heating system was so bad that I had to turn it on for a while, then turn it off... all night long! The pool looked ok but the whirlpool was closed. The bar was great! Had a great meal and good local beer on tap. The bartender was great! Breakfast was also great!

We were in a pet friendly room that was very conveniently located by an outside door with a nice grassy walking area. The room was clean, no smell, and very quiet. Other family members were upstairs in other rooms and thought their rooms were excellent also. The breakfast had many good choices and I can attest to their scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and waffles being pretty good for a breakfast buffet. Staff was helpful and quickly exchanged a hair dryer that had lost its heat. The entire place is definitely upgraded from a time long ago that we had stayed here.

This was perfect with children pool area and game room made them very hsppy. With s karge group dinner is tougg so we all brought food back to the hotel and ate near the pool. We couldn'tbelieve hoe much space there was in yhe indoor courtyard and pool area. Great amenities.

We were very satisfied with our stay during a recent holiday. The entire staff were friendly and the facility was clean and well maintained. The indoor pool was warm. We did did not use the exercise room but it appeared to be in good condition. We will be back.

Yes, this really is a convenient hotel to stay at if you are in the region - right outside of Kingston (town) - which really is worth checking out - nice stores, nice museums, easy to walk and park and recently should be visited.

Stayed here two nights with a tour bus group. I thought our room was very nice and the beds were comfy. The restaurant was very good but kind of expensive. I would recommend this hotel. Enjoyed my stay.

We stayed at this hotel this past weekend. In the middle of the night three out of the four rooms we were in had their fire alarms go off. When we called the front desk, no one answered. My husband had to go to the desk to get help. How did they solve the problem in two of our rooms? Well, they just took the detectors out! Great feeling to not have detectors! Not the experience we wanted. The walls were thin and we heard every word of a non stop argument going on in the next room. Not cool either!

Everyone was very friendly and very anxious to make sure everything was alright. The room was very comfortable the beds were excellent, and the restaurant and morning breakfast were delicious. The conference room were very convenient , and also very close to the restrooms, Lunch was delicious and served right outside of the conference room. Breakfast was continental and had a very large variety of food to chose from.

The overall quality of this hotel is good and the price is fine. Attempting to get to and from your car to your room can be a NIGHTMARE! Poor signage near most exit doors both going in and out. This includes moving within the hotel and going outside

Spent three nights here while attending a convention. The rooms are generous, with two queens. The bath is minuscule, which opening the door only complicates. Cell service is basically non-existent. Perhaps this is intentional, to allow the hotel to charge exorbitant long-distance fees for calls on the house phone. Some of my colleagues reported that their rooms did not receive maid service.

Extremely expensive for the service provided, involving multiple requests for basics--sofabed made up, a blanket for same, enough towels so we each had one. That said, the room was immaculate and the breakfast quite good.

I wanted to take the bed home, what a comfortable and needed good sleep! The staff were welcoming and helpful and were fun to talk to. The halls and room were pristine and most attractive. For a hotel which welcomes dogs there was not one clue or signs or smells of them. The bath rooms were very clean and I appreciated the bottles of shampoo and lotion, plus the shower cap, as well as the amount of generous towels. The breakfast offerings included every breakfast item anyone would wish. The hot items were hot, the juices delicious and there was ample paper plates so the guests could take their breakfast choices out to the car so the drive could get an early start. There were four of us family members and we also felt welcomed and safe. This was the fourth time we have stayed at this Best Western and we all agreed that it would win the blue ribbon!

My stay was for one night only but I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, It was very open, inviting, and clean. Staff were courteous and helpful and made you feel welcome to stay. The breakfast was great with a variety of selections to choose from. The room was clean and boasted a very comfortable bed. I would stay there again anytime.

Room was dark and needed some additional cleaning around the edges (window sills, etc.). Despite management knowing we were four people, there were only three towels even after complaining about for the 2nd day. Bathroom door stuck badly. One person had trouble getting out. I feel silly complaining about a free breakfast, so I won't. Overall, the facility felt old and worn. It has seen better days. On the positive side, the staff was great, and the restaurant was above average for a hotel restaurant.

This hotel is clean, modern, very comfortable, safe, and reasonably priced. As it's just off I-87, it's convenient for travelers and easy to find. Rooms are well-decorated and have all expected hotel amenities--and are on a par with many more expensive hotel chains. The mattress was extremely comfortable, with a wide screen TV facing the bed, and the bathroom was modern, clean, and had a nice array of bath products. The hot buffet breakfast was a plus This turned out to be a great choice for a stopping point while travelling.

Stayed her for an event at the nearby Bard College. Check-in was quick and efficient with a porter available if needed. A long walk to the room, but this is a big place with a lot going on. Between the bus business and the events going on in their Conference Rooms, they still had plenty of time for the little person. Breakfast was the standard fare, with plenty laid out. The porter availability was nice as we usually travel with twice the amount of stuff that we need. They were quick and friendly.

We stayed in an executive room at Best Western Plus in Kingston for 2 nights so that we could attend a family wedding. The room was large and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and the pool was fun. We had a free breakfast which was decent. They have a restaurant and bar to hang with family. The food prices were reasonable and good. All in all I would say we had an excellent stay and would definitely return.

Hotel felt a little old and run down for the price we paid, and that was before the smoke detector went off in the middle of the night and we discovered our phone didn't work (was never fixed during the stay) and the room wasn't properly serviced. We got a partial credit for one of our 3 nights, but this is not a hotel I plan to ever use again.

Overall very nice. It was a busy weekend and staff were very attentive to all guest. Rooms were very clean, hotel property looked nice and Breakfast daily was amazing. Would most definitely stay here again.

Great experience with my Motorcycle group. Gave towels to wipe our bikes down. Very accomadating rooms, clean and very comfortable. location to services was great, with access to down town and highways with ease. i would highly recommend this hotel as a viable stay to relax.

I look forward to coming back. Will be my go to place in the area,. The restaurant rocks...food incredible and service was wonderful....Staff great personalities. Extremely clean and beds more comfortable than home.

Family and I decided to stay at this hotel for one night, this is the first time staying at a Best Western Plus property and I was quite impressed. The hotel appeared to have been renovated within the last few years. Some of the amenities the hotel includes are a business center, fitness center, complimentary breakfast, indoor heated saltwater pool, and arcade. The guestroom and bathroom were also quite upscale and relatively clean, all the fixtures in the room worked well. The room (320) had a unique design, it could be accessed from the interior hallway, and indoor courtyard. A few negatives were the noise and cleanliness issues. Since my room faced the indoor courtyard, at times guests could be sitting in groups talking loudly. In addition, the curtain and chair in the room had two enormous visible stains. Besides those minor issues, the rest of the hotel was well kept. The service was nothing short of spectacular. I would stay at this hotel again but ask for different room type. Preferably a room that faces the parking lot. On a positive note, I can not think of any other hotel that offered such as wonderful breakfast buffet and the fitness center was beyond upscale for a Best Western hotel.

We were in Kingston for the w/e and decided to stay here. The good: offers a breakfast which is ok, has a small gym, indoor pool, bed was comfortable and there is good water pressure in shower. The bad......it wasn't clean .......loads of cobwebs on top of curtains and ceiling, and dead insects under bathroom sink. My husband and I actually cleaned the cobwebs off, and I left one dead insect under the sink to see if bathroom was cleaned when we returned back to room. Nope....dead insect still there. In addition, there are no screens so keeping windows open on a beautiful evening was not an option. Reason we didn't report this was because a manager should never let a guest find a room that way! We paid over $200 a night which was way too much and will not be returning.

My double queen room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It was also quiet, despite being across the hall from the elevator. The breakfast was above average and nicely presented. I would definitely stay here again when in the Kingston area.

BW in Kingston was a fine stay. We stayed as part of a wedding event. The staff was professional and helpful. The breakfast was very good and well maintained with pleasant staff. I would stay again if in the area.

The fire alarm triggered in our room on both nights (3am) that we stayed there. Our room wasn't quiet, we could hear the baby crying on the room next to ours. The location of the hotel wasn't so good. And basically the price wasn't that cheap for what we got

The hotel was located off the NY State Thruway. This hotel is located very close to the many uptown historic areas. The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful. Three different wedding parties were staying at the hotel on the weekend during our stay. Mitzi, in the dining room, is outstanding.

There are several new hotels in Kingston, all in the 200 dollars and up price range. I took a chance on a Priceline deal for 104 and it was for this Best Western. We loved it. It was clean, modern, great shower and toiletries, and the beds were great. Breakfast included a waffle station, which were delicious with a sliced banana. The room had a fridge and microwave, which is always helpful. Our room was quiet, and the pool and hot tub were clean and inviting. I highly recommend it, and already know this is where we will stay next time we need a place close to home.

The staff was welcoming and check-in was efficient. The room was spotless, the bed comfy (though a mite high for me), A/C worked beautifully. My only concern was with the dog-walking area (yes, we had a dog and she felt welcome too). There was no lighting out there, and with it behind the building there was no light from the parking lot. This could have been a problem.

This place is very nice and quiet. They have a beautiful inside pool and play area which is perfect for rainy days. They also have a nice restaurant within the premises and they serve great food for breakfast, lunch and diner. Upon our arrival, The operation manager overheard a request we had and did not wait to be asked and did not hesitate to accommodate us. It's details like these that makes a stay even more enjoyable.

Stayed here for a wedding. Easy check in. Room was clean and comfortable. Had a mini fridge, which we needed. The breakfast in the morning was a mix of hot and cold options and tasty. We didn't get a chance to use the indoor pool, but it looked nice. There is also an arcade next to it as well. Interior rooms look out onto the indoor pool area (our room was one of these) but it wasn't an issue. Hotel is also extremely easy to access from the Thruway.

Everything was just right about this Motel with its location ease of parking and entry Etc. The complimentry breakfast was sufficient with an adequate selection to feed any hungry family. Unfortunately the lack of manners and consideration with the group of people who are having breakfast dimmed the experience. I know people don't have manners anymore and the words "excuse me" don't seem to be in anybody's vocabulary. Maybe the hotel at at send out a little primer on good behavior with their hotel confirmations......

We checked the positive rating and decided to stay here. The reviews were correct. The non-smoking room had two queen beds which were very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small but was designed with safety in mind and very clean. Overall, the accommodations were well planned and relaxing. The indoor pool was warm, clean, and of decent size. Their hot breakfast was excellent and offered many choices such as waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, and oatmeal to name a few. The staff was pleasant and courteous and were eager to assist.

The place was not very clean. Trash and stains on the carpet in the hallways. Cigarette ashes in the window of our non-smoking room. The A/C did not work very well, so we could barely sleep. The manager stunk of cigarette smell. We cancelled our 2nd night and quickly left in the morning.

Not your usual boring box hotel. Beautiful country scenery. Wonderful staff, really really comfortable bed and pillows and excellent towels. Nice breakfast bar. Decent workout room. Pool available, although whirlpool was closed. Great hotel for the money

Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Upon arrival the lobby was decorated nicely and was greeted by 2 smiling faces from your staff. All and all a great stay. Co defence area was large, pool was indoors and clean. I would suggest them to add an additional dryer for guests and replace a washer machine for guest use. Bit this would not affect anyone's stay. We enjoyed our selves and close to a lot of things.

Wonderful place. Employees friendly, rooms clean and comfortable. The only disappointment was that we could not swim early in the morning any day of the week. Swimming pool opens at 10 am. :-( The surrounding town of Kingston was very charming.

We stayed in this hotel as a result of a last minute switch in hotels. I was happy to arrive to a nice and clean room, and large enough for our family of four. Breakfast in the morning included eggs, sausage, fruits, coffee, among other items. Would stay here again.

Traveled with family, stayed one night. Over all hotel was OK. Expected more for the money paid. If we do go back will look for coupons or specials to pay less for a one night stay and will try to find out if there is a conference or a large party staying. Some guests got too loud at night.

Very nice hotel, surprised at the price, but pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The breakfast was a bit crowded and the staff was a bit aggressive in cleanup (don't walk away to get more sugar for your tea, your plate will be gone as a part of clean-up) Overall this was a really nice hotel. I don't usually frequent BW chain, but I travel every month and will keep them on my radar for now on. :-)

If you want to spend a night in Kingston with no sleep that come on down. Your choice is either a room that is at least a fifteen mi it's walk from an elevator OR A room facing the hotels parking lot I slept in a room facing the parking lot and got no sleep because the front desk person allows people to smoke and yell out there even at 4am When I called the front desk to complain the man said Sorry ma'am they have to smoke somewhere! Since when did 4am screaming in a hotel take priority over a hotel guest paying top$$&& Trying to sleep. The female manager in the morning did nothing to rectify this situation. She is a complete incompetent manager. It's a shame Best western doesn't know that their staff is tarnishing the name of best western Please spend your night elsewhere if you need sleep

I must admit, we were tired, hot and hungry when we arrived after riding 9 hours on the cycle. I was not impressed by my first impression of the hotel on the exterior. After checking in we Went to our room and after 2-3 attempts got the door open only to be shocked when a kind gentlemen popped his head out at us. The room was already occupied. Back to the front desk we went. Understand that the hotel is spread out with several entrances/exits and there us no easy way to get to the front desks. They gave us another room and a simple apology for what felt was an over the top screw up. Thankfully the guy already in the room was very understanding. Back to our new room, this time on the 2nd floor only to find no elevator to our room so we lugged our luggage up the steps. No elevator access! Never seen anything so stupid. No elevator! Immediately upon entering the building it smelled musty. The smell was still there when we left the next day. Finally settled in to our room we immediately noticed the a/c was working hard. We set the temp to 60 and it was comfortable but you could tell it was not functioning the way it should.too tired to complain. Went to bed. The next morning we found our way to the complimentary breakfast, down different hallways and steps, not an easy task.. The hallways were dirty. The scrambled eggs were runny and there was no utensil at the bread and bagel area so people simply reached in with their hands. Can't believe that's allowed. Please understand that we stayed at two different Best Western plus hotels the previous 2 nites and were totally satisfied. This place is just old and dirty. And it was more expensive than the two previous nights. The bar tender at the restaurant bar was the only good thing about our stay. Very nice and friendly gentleman. Hate to give bad reviews but I know We will never return to this place. Was so ready to leave! Was prepared to spill the beans at check out when they asked us how our stay was but they never asked. Pathetic from the time we arrived til we left.

My only concern with the stay was we were there for a wedding that ended at 11 and then the wedding went to the lounge afterwards. Checkout time was 11am. Which I thought was early for abcheckout after a wedding. But all in all was an amazing stay

The only reason I went to Kingston was to spend an evening with a close friend who lived 20 minutes away, Sure in a less safe section, it would not have cost me, with tax $240. You pay for the pool, exercise room and game stations. I just do not know how a place like this can survive in Kingston which has an interesting historic section, but what else? Breakfast was good but a very noisy area. Next time i see that friend, it will be in New Paltz and stay at America's Best Value Inn...same nice rooms, if not nicer and a wonderful staff.

Hotel has large indoor pool for children, clean and well appointed rooms, ample parking and helpful staff. Hotel is walking distance to Dietz stadium(home of Kingston Stockade soccer team), several restaurants and historic uptown Kingston. We considered other major chains, but these were located in highly commercial area of Kingston.

Staff are professional & pleasant. Rooms are CLEAN & comfortable. Quality breakfast provided, with options for varying diets. The heated indoor pool is well maintained. Floor does get slick though! When travelling to Kingston, NY this is the first Hotel I check for room availability!

Front desk staff was adequately if not accommodating. Room was impeccably clean, aged bathroom tile detracts from the overall rating. Breakfast staff was incredibly professional. Hallway carpet was dark and not welcoming or inviting. All in all the accommodations were adequate and served our purpose for an overnight stay. Nothing special.

Jim Panza makes this hotel a 5 star experience. Pet friendly and great service. We used the state of the art fitness room and free wifi. Lots of free and convenient ice and parking . Nice gardens and walking areas. We could see the fireworks from the parking lot. A wonderful hotel for business or pleasure.

My family and I stayed here one night while visiting family. The hotel is conveniently located right off the NY Thruway, which made getting on the road very easy in the morning. The lobby was clean and the staff at the desk was very friendly. The hotel hallways and the rooms were dark. I would suggest updating with lighter decor to make the hotel feel a little more inviting. The room itself was clean. We asked for a crib in the room, and even with that; the room was still easy to move around in. The bathroom was small, but clean. Only complaint was no exhaust fan in the bathroom so it steams up pretty easily. I would probably stay here again if I'm in the area. Breakfast was better than expected. Good variety of hot and cold items to choose from. The breakfast area was large and clean.

I love this hotel and have returned several times. The new renovations are fantastic, I only wish they had kept the hot tub. Excellent breakfast is included. Wonderful staff. This is a great location close to the Catskills, Woodstock area, and Historic Kingston which has many quality restaurants as well as shopping convenient to the hotel. Bonus points for the games area which my son loves : )

Very nice hotel. It was a little pricey for the holiday weekend but I would recommend staying here and my family and I would definitely stay again when we're in the area. We brought our dog and the grounds were very nice for him to be able to walk around and explore.

Dark decor gloomy. Ice machines didn't work. Smell of smoke in corridor on second floor. Breakfast bland not fresh Domestic in hallway middle of the night. Staff not helpful on checkout staff excellent on check in.

The hotel is loced in a great spot, next to amazing Picnic pizza. Breakfast had many choices and was well prepared. Rooms were clean and the bed was very comfy. My kids enjoued pool and arcade. Wish there was few more games but it was enough entertaiment for them.

Highs and lows... First, the good - speedy check-in, nice room (large and comfortable), free WiFi, free breakfast, good location (right near the NY Thruway), free parking. Now the lows - bar was expensive AND closed at 10 PM (even on weekends), rate was not cheap, food quality at breakfast was just OK. All in all, a good but average stay.

Was in Kingston for a wedding weekend. Room was very nice and quiet. Beds were comfortable. The hotel was packed with wedding guest, softball teams, etc. Nice breakfast included. A little pricey but it was summer weekend for one night.

Excellent value for the location which is what we needed for the time we spent at the nearby Ashokan Resort in the Catskills. Kingston has lots of history. It is near FDR's Hyde Park residence and presidential library. The hotel is next to the NY Thruway and just 2 hours from NYC.

Economical but not lacking in service or amenities. Stayed for a softball tournament. Large areas for team meals. Close to stores. Staff is quick to assist and friendly. Room was comfortable. I stay in multiple hotels each spring/summer and this was one of the more enjoyable.

the bedding provided one of the most restful sleeps I have had in a hotel & it is very convenient for someone visiting the Kingston, NY area. They have a very nice bar/lounge area & I prefer to stay at a hotel that has either a restaurant or bar on site.

Spur of the moment stay and was really pleased with the experience. We ended up getting room service and the food was fantastic and really affordable, had a great experience and would stay there again!!

We have stayed at this location multiple times with bringing our sons to college nearby. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The staff are all very attentive and courteous. The game room is an added bonus for extra fun with the kids. Love this hotel and would highly recommend it.

We stayed here for a month for work and the facility is fabulous. There is plenty of parking, the free breakfast doesn't change much but is very good, and the rooms are new and very clean. We really enjoyed it here. The pool is really nice but doesn't have a hot tub. The atrium area is great for meetings or late night get-togethers. I'd stay here again in a second!

We stayed two nights with our small dog who was welcomed at this pet friendly hotel. They think of the small details. Clean room, noted the addition of a "clean remote", presumably antibacterial properties, for those of us that notice and appreciate such things. Bed was comfy and had a selection of pillows for any sleepyhead that ranged from pancake flat to plump and firmer. The modern decor was nice, it has an indoor pool that closes late at 10pm, and you get free hot breakfast in the a.m. Internet was good as well. Front desk staff very nice. Great little home base for some Upstate road trip adventures!

a lot larger than meets the eye! Housekeeping and front desk were very friendly and knowledgeable. Room was very clean. Plenty of parking. Did not have a tub, and the shower made the floor wet, but other than that, it was a good weekend stay for our crew.

Visited Kingston to go kayaking. Stayed at the Best Western. Very nice. People are great. Kind of pricey for a 3 diamond hotel. Pool closes at 10:00. Breakfast was continental a usual. But was very fresh. There are some restaurants not too far away. Could be walked but good walk. Recommend Chops restaurant very good. All in all a nice stay. Will revisit when we return.

When I originally booked my stay online directly with this chain in November 2016, I clearly indicated I would be traveling with a dog and (medically) needed fragrance free sheets, pillows, and towels, and no air fresheners, yet the hotel staff said it was never informed of these needs, despite it being in the online reservation confirmation that I received. As a result, no "dog" room was originally assigned, and scented air freshener and/or carpet cleaner had been recently used in the "dog" room were recently used, forcing me to use my own sheets and run a HEPA air filter so that I could not cough uncontrollably while on heavy medications to mitigate the fragrance. For the high room price, despite their waiving of the dog fee due to the lack of communication between the web site and hotel, I should not have had to use my own sheets or cough whenever I was in my hotel room. The hotel layout and the remote location of rooms assigned to people traveling with dogs meant we were far from the front desk so could not easily obtain a bellman's cart to move my dog crate and other luggage. The lady at the front desk volunteered a bellman WITHOUT a cart to help me, but without said cart and the long time it took for him to walk the long distance parking area closest to my room, I ended up lugging everything except for the wire dog crate. I checked out earlier than planned so that I could go to a lower-priced hotel chain which has easily accommodated my needs for much less cost per night, with no health problems exacerbated.

Stayed here with my family for a wedding in the area. It is easy to find and get to off the highway. Staff are very friendly. All areas are clean and the wifi ais good. Breakfast is awesome. Would stay here again if I'm in the area.

The rooms at this hotel are clean, comfortable, and quiet. The layout of the hotel, however, is unlike anything I have ever seen. Our room had a French balcony overlooking an area which resembled a warehouse interior, complete with overhead metal beams. This cavernous area contained a swimming pool, a fitness area, tables and chairs, and arcade games (randomly spaced apart in this open area). It was truly a strange set-up and made me wonder if this hotel had once been a former factory. Getting to our room involved walking though a maze of corridors, including passing through this "warehouse" are to get to the stairway and elevator. Again, I want to say that the room itself was very nice but the hotel was definitely overpriced (holiday rates) for what it was.

The location of the hotel is excellent due to the proximity to the InterState Highways Able to reach the Kingston Harbor, as well as other tourist attractions in no time by car. I encourage visitors to check out the slow train ride tour of the mountain areas. Wonderful scenery.

Very nice hotel. Very easy to access off the highway. Super clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly, profession and very well trained in customer service. The desk staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would happily stay here again.

Stayed for one night and the room and hotel was fine so no surprises there. We had a room overlooking the river which was fine but a lot of the rooms overlook and inside area where there is a swimming pool, gaming machines, air hockey, pool tables and some tables and chairs. If I had a room that looked at a gaming machine I think I would find it a little disappointing. I guess I just like daylight! As said though our room was clean and had everything in it so no problem just ask for a room looking outwards would be my advice.

Stayed here for a wedding. Pool was only open from 10-10 si it was closed by the time reception was over and wasn't open before check out. Rooms weren't as clean as expected. Bar staff was rude. Hotel had an off ordor and bagels at breakfast were hard as rocks. Won't stay here again ! Lesson Learned.

Got a great deal on a discount booking site, for a room at the Best Western Plus in Kingston. It is conveniently located off the highway. The first night we went to the indoor salt water pool which was nice & relaxing. We bought cocktails in the bar that they put in plastic cups for use at the pool, which was perfect, although a bit of a walk from the bar to the pool. We ordered room service, burgers, yummy onion rings which was great. There was a mini fridge & microwave which we used for snacks. The beds were comfortable, room was clean, soft bedding. The window on our 2nd floor room (north facing, overlooking a stream) opened but there was no screen (might be a problem in warmer weather with bugs) which was nice for fresh air. Walk in shower modern, water flow was a 10! The configuration of the hotel a bit confusing, on check in we got a map which was helpful. Staff very nice & accommodating. It is an easy drive to Woodstock from here, there are grocery stores nearby. We drove in to old Kingston by the water for early dinner & to walk around, probably 5 minutes from the hotel & worth the trip. Overall a nice place to stay & convenient to area activities & places.

the hotel seems too old,with old carpets,old curtains,old furnitures,old bathroom,old design... outside,the building has not an attractive looking. According to me,this Best Western PLUS offers less than an Super 8. The rate is not worth at all. I will avoid to stop here next time.

I stayed overnight at the Kingston Best Western to meet with colleagues in the area. It's conveniently located just off the NYS Thruway. The room was large, clean, and well-appointed; I especially appreciated the desk for my work. The staff was friendly and super accommodating, I was traveling with my two cats, and they felt welcome as well :).

The check in was quick and very professional. Staff was friendly and warm welcoming. The pool is salt water which is a plus..Restaurant has great food, Bar is open till 11pm or until there is no one to serve. Room rate include a full Breakfast.. Hotel is Pet Friendly...

Ever since i came to this hotel i have never been disappointed. As a truck driver i always have a good parking lot for my truck. At the reception there are good people that always welcome me with smile, very professional. The room is big with two big beds, very clean, nice and well spread, fast free internet, cable television and many more. In the morning after shower i take my breakfast of my preference. This is my hotel wherever i go for business. The service exceeds the price.

We stayed only one night, my husband, 16 year old daughter and I for a bowling tournament that was in town that Saturday. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds! Staff was very helpful, courteous and charming!!!

Pulled off the Thruway looking for close-by place to spend the night. This Best Western presented very well. Clean comfortable with a very friendly front desk. Quick and easy directions given to a local diner. I would stop here again.

The hotel was in a very convenient place. Very Clean and comfortable. Just would have like healthier breakfast options. The lunch that was provided for the conference was in a bright courtyard.Would definitely stay there again.

Great breakfast; pool; pool table; arcade games; clean stairs. Comfortable room which appeared sound insulated. A train goes near by but it was not bothersome or loud. There is plenty of parking. Limited number of TV channels - this is more for an active traveler.

The hotel was clean and the staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.the rooms were clean, the food was excellent and the restraint and bar staff did a great job. Easter brunch was fantastic and came at an even better price. We will recommend this hotel to our friends.

They've done a great job with this hotel. The staff is beyond friendly and helpful and based solely on that I would highly recommend this hotel, but the rooms are also very nice. The only negative is that it is a bit pricey and there is no hot tub. The breakfast is also less than impressive but adequate. Need to improve on non-hot food items

We were attending a bridal shower in nearby Lake Katrina and decided to stay in the area and explore. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are newly decorated. Breakfast was plentiful, eggs and sausage and fresh waffles. We also took advantage of free room service delivery after being out all day exploring downtown Kingston and Woodstock. Great place.

This location was recently renovated. Everything was clean and well-appointed. Excellent staff, especially those working the breakfast bar in the morning. They hustled to keep things refreshed and clean.

I stay here with the family when skiing in the Catskills. Great place to overnight. Rooms are always clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Kids like the indoor pool and the game area. Not much else to say so now I'll say more without saying more just to get the character count up so Trip Advisor will let me post the review. Wish there was a spot here to complain about Trip Advisor.

We choose this hotel to be confortable and be able to dine at there restaurant. Since it was my friend birthday, we wanted to be very confortable and have a nice meal. the confort of the bed was exceptionnal! We liked our experience at the lounge bar and even had diner there. the food was good for the price paid. I even took the left over to eat at lunch the next day! It was still good. I would recommend this hotel whithout hesitation.

I stayed at the hotel for one night, and found it generally pleasant looking and comfortable, although there was an odd smell in the room. Subtle, but unpleasant. Then in the morning I noticed several problems. First I saw that my sheets were stained; I had been too tired the night before to notice. Then I found a used washcloth hanging on the shower curtain rod and a rag on the closet shelf. I started looking more carefully at the level of cleanliness in the room after I realized housekeeping had not paid much attention to the room. The hotel was reasonable, certainly worth the money. The bed was very comfortable and everything worked properly. But a dirty room is very unpleasant. The phone was very dirty, the particular type of stains on the sheet gave me the creeps, and I am not sure I would be willing to stay there again. The final, but probably inconsequential point was when I checked out. I travel often and am used to the staff at the desk asking how my stay was; not this time.

The hotel was great. Our room was clean and the complimentary breakfast was very good. This was a destination wedding, with several families visiting and no one had complained. We would definitely stay there when visiting again. It was within walking distance of several restaurants.

The hotel is laid out very funky. Inside rooms can face arcade area in atrium and can be loud. Not great and clean and reasonable for the area. The general area is either high priced fancy places or scary no thrills. This is inbetween.

I was traveling and needed a place to stay for the night as I needed y brakes repaired in the morning. I don't use credit cards so several other hotels refused me even though i was able to pay cash +a deposit. Best Western happily obliged and the place is great. Free wi-fi and breakfast. I stayed in a room in the wing overlooking the river (glimpses, actually). It was very quiet, except for the noisy a/c in the room, even when on low everything. Shower was excellent -- great pressure and good heat. Bed was good. Wifi was very slow. I was with a group and we had breakfast in the covered area between the wings. Breakfast was good. The room I had had a toilet for someone with mobility issues -- there was a large hand rail bolted into the floor. However, the shower was over the bathtub! If this is a room for a disabled person, why on Earth would there not be a walk-in shower? With a handheld shower spray? instead, you have to get into the bath to have a shower and it's a fixed head shower rose. Others in my group who had standard rooms said they had walk-in showers and no tub, but for some reason this room didn't, yet that's the room that needed it the most.

Location of hotel was very convenient and easy to find. Service of staff, house keeping and manager was extremely customer friendly. Rooms were neat and clean. Breakfast was reasonably good but there is little scope of improvement. Overall experience was satisfactory.

Stayed here for an event at Dutchess County Fairgrounds. It has been recently renovated and is a nice property. Clean well appointed rooms. Nice bar with limited menu. Only complaint was breakfast did not open until 7 on weekends, not even coffee! There are coffee makers in the rooms, but nothing in the lobby. The hotel was full and everyone arrived to eat at 7. Not pretty.

This is the 'conference' hotel I remember from my childhood. It looks like it was once a motel, but at some point, they enclosed the interior courtyard. Inside this courtyard are the gym, a small arcade, and the pool. The hours are odd: 10a-10p. Given that breakfast ends at 10a, and people often checkout around 10a, this struck me as odd. The pool was nice. I was pretty disappointed at first -- the 'circle' inside the pool looks like a hot tub in the pictures, but it is just a super-shallow section. It's purpose isn't entirely clear because there is no rail to keep small kids from falling in the 3' section. But my elementary school aged kids enjoyed it. The gym overlooks the pool and has a mixture of relatively new equipment. The arcade is overpriced and not appropriate for pre-teen kids. Most of the games are pretty graphic/violent. They all cost ~$1 for about a minute of play. There is not even a 'token' pac-man or similar. The 'arm grab' is too difficult for kids, and the one time someone 'won' something, the game froze, sounding a siren, and refusing to relinquish the prize. The air hockey table has some plugged holes and does not work right. And, the pool table doesn't accept the same tokens as all the other machines. I'm glad my room wasn't near these machines which are 'on' until 10p. The hotel should remove this stuff. The room was fine -- clean and renovated relatively recently. The breakfast decent.

This was our 3rd stay at this hotel. There is a reason for that. It is clean, neat and well managed. The people that stayed in our non smoking room probably smoked, when we called the front desk, the had someone up in our room to freshen it within 3 minutes. the atmosphere is wonderful as we had a room with a view of the creek. Breakfast was good also. Don't hesitate to stay at this conveniently located hotel in Kingston....

This particular Best Western is my home away from home when I visit the small city where I lived for many years. Clean, comfortable, pleasant staff, good breakfast with selections of hot and cold foods, Heated, salt-water pool to get the kinks out. Pet-friendly. I'd suggest a room on the creek side rather than the pool side for quiet and privacy. Just off NYS Thruway--very convenient. Price is good for being this close to NY City. Pizza restaurant next door is very highly rated, and I concur.

We were very surprised by the lovely town of Kingston, NY. We had planned to tour the Vanderbilt Museum and FDR home and presidential library, which is only about 30 minutes away in Hyde Park. Kingston has several very good restaurants which made our choice of staying the Best Western very convenient. It is close to town center and the interstate. We would definitely stay at the Best Western Plus again.

We were here for two nights for work. The staff at the front desk were great. We found it unusual that we were given a map to get to our room, until we started walking. As another mentioned, it's a labyrinth of sorts. It's all set up around an atrium including a very nice pool and arcade area. Our room overlooked this. We actually were very amused at getting lost once or twice. The rooms are clean, the hotel is a bit dated where the rooms are. We ate at the bar one night, our burgers were very good. Breakfast in the morning, while typical, was far better than Holiday Inn Express breakfasts. Coffee was very good too. The hotel is a quick drive to Kingston, and we enjoyed a fun afternoon walking and exploring this neat town.

Be forewarned the walls in the rooms are paper thin and you can hear everything from surrounding rooms. Also, there are limited pool hours. The breakfast, while convenient, is not very healthy or tasty and can be packed with hangry people. Otherwise, the staff was very accommodating and friendly, and location of the hotel within walking distance to some great local restaurants and bars.

The property is essentially a conference centre and its design is functional. However, this means that travellers can expect top quality service with respect to room comfort, wifi connectivity, fitness room/pool, restaurant, breakfast, and service. In all a very nice place to stay and I would pick as first choice if returning to that locatiom.

The BEST WESTERN Kingston is an excellent place to stay the night. It is so big, however, that initially it is possible to get lost trying to go from the computer room to the bedroom suites. All in all, a good experience.

This location was very nice. The rooms were spacious and clean. I cannot say enough good about the staff. They offered suggestions for dinner, as well ad provided a history of the town. Would recommend this for business or pleasure.

Stayed one night on our way to a motor cycle event. Harley Davidson recommends BW. They have a bike wash area if interested. Since we are on bikes we always look for a Hotel with a restaurant and bar. Very nice stay

The kids and I really enjoy this place. Super easy convenient location off the thruway. Great spot to launch your Kingston/Hudson Valley exploration. We made last minute reservations for both times we've stayed there. It's spacious, clean and elegant. We will definitely be back.

I really don't have one complaint about this hotel. From the moment we walked in, the staff went above and beyond to help. The room was comfortable and well appointed. Full hot breakfast and nice amenities. Truly, the only thing that I can knit pick was that the bathroom was quite small ( I only noticed because we have a disabled person in our party). I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel. Breakfast was decent with home fries, sausage and eggs. If you want quiet book your room away from the pool area where the arcade is and the air hockey table. Our room was next to a suite where you could hear through the adjoining door lots of singing, music and talking. Wifi was not great we had to go out to the lobby off and on. I think 249 per night with a 2 night min is a bit much.

Recently renovated Best Western Plus of Kingston, hosted our event in capable style with dancing, DJ reunion sounds of the 70' through today in an intimate setting of one of several designer set conference/ballrooms. Lounge also featured a nice gas flame stack stone fireplace. Appetizers and tid bits preceded a fresh hot buffet featuring boneless chicken parmigiana, stuffed fillet of sole, hand carved at the station prime rib. Various vegetable, potatoes, pasta & rice sides were delicious. Banquet and groups manager Diane Mancuso Ferhring is to be complimented on an excellent presentation of centerpieces and providing customized gift favors. for the price, comfort of bed could of been better nothing special about the hotel dining service staff, very friendly hard to figure out how to get around to your room the food was good, but nothing special.

This hotel has an indoor pool (non-chlorine I'm told) with many rooms looking out or right on the pool level. If you need to keep an eye on kids having a pool level room is great. However, if your room looks out onto the pool area you will be disturbed by all the noise. So ask for a room a way from the hotel if this is a concern. Also, the place is dog friendly. I love dogs. But not when they bark constantly because the owners leave them alone and I can't sleep. The bed was very comfortable. Free wifi. Plenty of outlets for plugins. The decor is cave-man friendly; dark and masculine. This is also a conference center and wedding local. The free breakfast is a great deal. Scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, carbs, yogurt, juices, etc. There is also a full restaurant menu. The level of cleanliness is so-so. My room was skipped by housekeeping one day but no biggie. The day it was cleaned my hair left in the sink that morning was still there on my return. Dusting was apparently optional. The staff is very friendly and cordial. They were able to move my friends away from the pool noise at their request. The location is right off the Thruway. There is a pizza place right nearby. I would return here because of the convenience of location to New Paltz, Opus 40 and Woodstock. Check out the French restaurant in town.

Stayed here for a wedding this past weekend. Room was very nice and staff was very friendly. It is located right off the throughway. One of the nicer hotels in this area. They do offer free breakfast the starts at 7:00a.m.

Just stayed overnight because we were going to the Dutchess County Fair. Didn't have any kids with me but the indoor game and pool area looked like a great place for families. Breakfast was good and included in price. Hotel recently refurbished, was very nice.

Exceptional cleaning staff. They really made our stay a nice one. This is a very friendly and very clean place to stay! We were able to travel with our little dog and stayed 4 nights in a non smoking room.The breakfast was great They had a nice variety and the tables were always cleaned after every guest. If I was going to travel anywhere nearby I would stay here!

Lots of amenities - something for everyone! Pool, poolside shower, arcade, air hockey, billard table, nice lounge and a very good breakfast buffet. The beds were very comfortable, the towels were soft. My only complaint was the air conditioner which was too noisy and didn't seem to cool the room enough.

We were checked in promptly and the room was clean, modern and comfortable. The location is very convenient, right off the traffic circle that the Thruway exit leads to. Downtown Kingston is about 6-8 minutes away. There is a large, enclosed interior area between wings of the building with a pool and arcade for kids. The bulk of this area is used for business meetings, charitable organization presentations, etc. There were several events going on while we were there. The morning breakfast was sometimes busy with softball teams, Rotarians, etc. but the staff did a great job of keeping the area clean and the food freshly stocked. Food was above average for a motel breakfast -- good variety of foods and nice and clean. On one especially busy morning a whole extra coffee area was set up. Despite all of the activity in the common areas, in the wings where the rooms were located it was quiet and restful. The room entry cards worked perfectly every time. Nothing is more annoying than checking in after a long drive and getting cards that don't work or only work intermittently. That was never an issue here. Housekeeping was unintrusive and efficient. Overall, this hotel is a definite cut above the typical upstate New York motel. We enjoyed our 5 days there and will return when we visit Kingston in the future. .

As far as chain hotels go, this Best Western Plus is a good option. It is well situated--not far from the highway exit/entrance, minutes away from the Kingston Bridge and Kingston's major historic sites. Nearby (within walking distance) are Hannaford's Supermarket, a 24hr CVS, and 2 of Kingston's best "cheap eats"--Dietz's Diner (open 24 hours) and Diesing's Bakery. We stayed in a king bed room with a sofa. The room was pretty small, but was well-equipped and laid out in such a way as to take advantage of the compact space. The large flat-screen tv had a great picture and could be comfortably viewed from both the sofa and the bed. There was also a desk (opposite the sofa) and a small microwave and fridge (no freezer compartment) under the tv. The air conditioner worked well even on very hot days. The bathroom was a bit cramped, and the bath amenities were sparse. We had housekeeping only once during our 3-night stay (our choice), and it was merely satisfactory. Wi-fi service in the room was spotty and unreliable. One night we managed to watch Netflix on our laptop without much problem, but the next night I couldn't even call up basic websites (including Trip Advisor) without timing out. The free breakfast is OK--just as at all of the similar hotel chains -- eggs, make-your-own waffles, pasty oatmeal, a selection of processed breads and pastries, dry cereal, yogurt, etc. Not a lot of whole grain or low-fat options, but that's pretty typical of these places. Investigated the indoor pool area, but did not use the pool itself. The ambiance of the pool area is a bit strange and somewhat off-putting: an empty mall-like courtyard with a section of video game machines off to the side. The hotel has no outdoor public areas other than parking lots.

Reservation was pre-paid to guarantee adjoining rooms. On arrival asked desk staff to confirm that they were and was told they didn't have all the rooms memorized. Found that rooms were not adjoining and had to return to desk to get that sorted out. Rooms were near pool and too smelly so we asked to be moved and were. Door to one room stuck and had to be pushed/pulled very hard to make it work. Asked housekeeping for razor and didn't receive, they often didn't replenish some toiletries. Hotel is like a maze.

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel. We're usually accompanied by our pet shih-tzu, so this pet-friendly hotel right off the Thruway is perfect for us. The rooms are always clean, the staff always friendly, and the free breakfast buffets are nice.

The last time I stayed it was a Holiday inn. Since then, Best Western took over and made many upgrades, mostly in the bedrooms which are decent. They do not have extra cots as the upgrades included bigger beds, so a cot won't fit( at least that was the case in my room). Ask before you go as you cannot count on it as we did. The guy at the front Dest did offer extra bedding to help accommodate us( sleep on the floor). The air conditioning in the bedroom was great. The price included get your own breakfast which was good, the restaurant food wasn't bad, but not great either.The bar area is small and closes early. There is a pizza place a very short distance away... At the end of the hotel parking lot... The pizza was excellent!! Many of the workers were nice and helpful , however a couple at the front desk were just plain grumpy (over the simplest requests). The maid service was fine. The pool area and game-room are the same as in the past... Good for kids. For a small fee you can bring your dog (if they still have pet rooms available). The weirdest thing : The bathrooms do not have exhaust fans... Instead they have vents that connect to the bathroom in the room opposite your room. You can hear clear as day the people in the next bathroom (talking and making bodily sounds I will not describe here).... Somewhat strange and disgusting. The ice machines worked well and there were vending machines to buy snacks and drinks at reasonable prices. The room prices were a bit steep, but it was mid summer and they did give a AAA discount. I would stay again, but would also seek other options in the area.

This hotel is close to everything, has a decent (slightly overpriced) restaurant, nice indoor pool, and totally adequate breakfast. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the room was clean, and the restaurant was not crowded. There's even a small arcade for entertainment! Just make sure that you bring some cash because the ATM was not working and the vending machines are cash only!

My first time here at this hotel. It was immaculate, the staff was efficient and courteous. The room was spotless, had no odor and the beds were perfect. The area where the breakfast was served was a little too warm, perhaps the blowers for the A/C weren't working? We chose to sit at the elevated table on the bar stools and it was more tolerable.

Stayed here as part of a group. Checking was efficient. The rooms were large ,clean and recently remodeled. Larger than typical TV and comfortable mattresses! The food was very good! Pleasant 2 night stay.

I booked a standard two bedroom room for a function held at the best western for one of the department offices, promotions .I asked for a group rate being I was sure some other employers would be booking.$200.00,a night,well I payed it but thought good god I only live twenty minutes away but it would be late and wanted to have a glass of wine.l think they took advantage, over charged.

The hotel was fine, but very overpriced. We paid over 200 dollars a night. There must have been some kind of event in the area. There was a decent indoor pool area and an arcade area that the kids liked. There was a strange atrium area with many tables covered in tablecloths, but not much else. The front desk upgraded us to a "walkout to pool" room which was kind of them to do, but it wasn't really poolside, just on the 1st floor (same floor as the pool). Breakfast was your typical "breakfast included" fare. Waffle maker, toast, stale bagels, eggs, bacon, yogurt and the like. It worked out fine for a night's stay, but I couldn't believe the price when my husband told me.

We stayed at this hotel for a night while traveling. The hotel was very clean and nice, the room we had (single queen) was small, but adequate. Breakfast had a good selection of the usual foods, including cooked oatmeal. The service was excellent. The only issue is that the hotel is in a very busy area and early in the morning we had lots of noise from the parking lot.

The hotel is very clean, I was not impressed to be placed at the pet rooms area when we don't have pets and the rooms either side of us had barking dogs. They finally settled by 11:30 pm but when you pay $192.00 for a nights sleep then thats what you expect to recieve. the breakfast area was very need and well taken care of. Upon check out the front desk didn't seem to concerned that we had a interuped nights sleep. If this is what Plus has to offer I'm staying with our Best Western in Watertown, New York

We were in Kingston for a wedding this weekend. The best western was centrally located, clean, and had a fun pool area. The only downside was someone pulling the fire alarm in the middle of the night, but it's hard to blame the hotel for that. If we are in the area again, we would def go back!

I stayed at the Best Western Plus for a week in June whilst attending training nearby. This hotel far exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff are unbelievably helpful - I ordered books to be delivered there - they were ready and waiting for me, I wanted to change rooms to a different location - no trouble at all - I was moved instantly. The room was perfect and the bathroom facilities too. It has recently been renovated and is in good nick. Accommodation included breakfast was was more than adequate. I want to thank all the staff at the front desk as well as the Manager - who were so accommodating, helpful and friendly.

Stayed one night on a way up to Albany. We had stayed here many years ago, as my grown-up son reminded us. Nice breakfast and lobby, has an indoor pool and video game area for children, which is what makes the place special enough to justify its higher price, but if that is not important to you, then perhaps look elsewhere. Rooms were adequate as were beds. Bathroom was on the small size. Take an outside room, not one that faces the indoor pool area unless you are wanting to look down on your children. Went to an pleasant, reasonably priced diner across the road "Olympus", for dinner.

The employees at this hotel were very pleasant and helpful. It did not matter what their position was, there was not a single person that we ran into that seemed as if they did not want to be at work. The breakfast there was one of the best hotel breakfasts that we had in a long time.

I had lunch there and we had a conference in one of their rooms, but I did not spend the night. The lunch was really good (had a hot turkey sandwich). The place is really nice and clean though, and the staff was friendly. It seemed like a nice place to stay if we ever needed to

Stayed here for a wedding. Hotel has been renovated but you could tell they were just basically covering up the old stuff- I am not picky but noticed lots of small things like cracks in shower tiles, small peeling paint spots, carpet beginning to come apart, wonky toilet, etc. Breakfast was fine, staff was friendly, warm pool was nice to swim in with family. I felt it was overpriced for what type of accommodation they were offering- stayed at a brand new Best Western Plus right in NYC after leaving here and it was way nicer, offered more amenities, and actually cost significantly less.

This hotel was recently renovated and is in good condition. has a great work out area, pool and child area. The hot breakfast is included and just perfect! If you can get a room in the courtyard I think that would be preferable. Otherwise It was a bit of walk to the room.

Our room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Requested additional pillows and towels and they arrived to us promptly. Used the laundry facilities without any problems. Great staff. Good variety of breakfast items. Very pleased with our stay. Will stay again!

Long journey to arrive at a smelly non smoking room with flying insects while paying over $200 for the night. Hotel is full so no option to change rooms. When I last stayed here, it was under construction so I made allowances. But this is allegedly a better hotel in Kingston, sadly not the case.

Wifey and I stayed here in Dec 2015. It is a sweet little hotel located in a small town. The parking is free and since we stayed here so close to Christmas, there was very cute little Christmas style decorated train that ran next to the hotel. If you are a fan of Christmas like I am, you will love to see it! The hotel was nicely decorated. The staff was friendly and informative. Our room was standard and good for the price we paid, nothing special. The bed was okay and I slept fine. The bathroom was clean and well lit. I do agree with other reviewers about the long dark hallway which is a bit creepy. The breakfast is free and it is your usual buffet style breakfast with eggs, potatoes and some other sad looking breakfast items. All in all I had an okay time staying at this hotel.

Stayed here for the Country Living Fair. Rates were quite high during this time because of the fair. The hotel is recently remodeled and very clean. Beds are very comfortable and the hotel is quiet. The hallways are a bit dark and on the end we were staying the hallways were super hot. The room was cooled though. Nice shower and good water pressure. Wish there was an elevator on the other side of the hotel. Would stay here again.

Hotel has good and bad points: bed/pillow uncomfortable, A/C noisy and at end of cooling cycle would shut off with a squeal awakening us all night long; position of desk right next to the A/C made it freezing to work at the desk. Furniture should be rearranged so bench for suitcase is next to A/C and desk should be on other side of TV/ bureau unit. The breakfasts were very good. The staff was both friendly and helpful. Seemed pretty expensive for the value received.

The facilities are a bit tired, but clean. The on site food is not all that good, but there are lots of local places to eat instead. Breakfast is included, but can get crowded. As long as you have other plans in the area, this is a fine place to lay your head down at night.

This hotel was quiet and clean enough, although a little pricey for the area. Excellent mattress, decor could use a little updating. make sure you ask for a room with a window to the outside, there are a few rooms with windows that look out on an event space. Very close to shopping and restaurants. convenient to the highway.

When we first arrived we had a nice room with lots of natural light. It was on the second floor away from the pool/arcade area. We enjoyed the first night. However later, the ceiling began to leak. They looked at it but it couldn't be fixed in a short period of time. They moved us to a dark gloomy room near the pool area. We couldn't have natural light because if our light blocking (unfortunately not sound blocking) curtains were not closed people could see everything we did. That night we got back from dinner, and there were kids playing games, yelling, adults talking, people jumping in the pool. You could hear EVERYTHING. I mean seriously if you are going to have rooms right next to a pool and arcade games at least use soundproof walls.

Convenient location, just off the Thruway traffic circle, extremely kind and helpful staff, immaculately clean public spaces and room, free breakfast includes variety of hot and cold foods. I had a microwave and refrigerator in my room. The warm saltwater pool felt great after a long day's drive, but coming back hot and sticky from sightseeing the next day, I would have rather had a cold, freshwater pool to jump into. The combo of cold pool and a hot tub would be more inviting, I think, and I said so in my comments to the motel. Also the pool does not open until 10am, so guests can't take a morning dip before starting their day. The motel is pet-friendly, which I may take advantage of in the future. Decor was drab throughout, although this motel had been renovated. It could use brighter colors and green plants. Pricing was a little high, I thought, for what was a fairly standard motel experience two hours north of New York City.

Clean rooms, quiet, courteous and helpful staff. Great breakfast buffet (free). Was very pleased with the room and overnight stay while traveling. Close to I-87 exit. Close to shopping. Pleasant stay.

Clean, quiet and comfortable. In Kingston NY you can't ask for or expect anything better!! Pricing was on the high side due to graduation at Bard College, even so less than $250.00 including all taxes was worth it given the fact it was only a 15 minute drive to Bard

We were in Kingston for a couple of days to look the area over. We were very pleased with the location of the Best Western Plus on Washington Avenue; its location is on the edge of Kingston, along Esopus Creek, and because we needed a pet friendly room, we were at the back of the hotel where there was plenty of room to run the dog. Our room was lovely, spacious, clean, comfortable. And here is a big surprise – the Wi-Fi was absolutely excellent! I often find in a pet friendly room that we are way down at the end of the hall and the Wi-Fi is weak – not the case here. Color me happy :-) Breakfast was excellent, and the people in charge of it were very efficient. There was a college baseball tournament going on, and at least two teams were staying at the Best Western, so there were plenty of people at breakfast both mornings; but those in charge kept the items well-stocked. So it wasn't a problem at all. In fact, it was kind of fun to see all those college kids :-) We wanted to learn a bit about Kingston, so when I checked in, I was given some information – a map of Kingston and other printed materials. That was very helpful. And I must compliment the people at the front desk – they went out of their way to be helpful and pleasant and friendly. The only negative at all was that the refrigerator in our room still held the food that was left by a previous guest. That was a little icky, but I just threw it out with the trash the next day. Not a big deal. But here's something funny – the hotel sent me a request for a review. I did the review, and I mentioned the food. In response, from a manager at the hotel, I got a canned email thanking me for my review – it did not mention my food issue at all, so I was pretty sure that the manager had not read my review. I tried to reply to the manager's canned response, and it bounced back to me. Wouldn't you think they would use a working email address for that? I would. But oh well. In any case, it was a good stay, a good time, and we will probably go back. It was a little pricey, but the Hudson Valley is a little pricey, and the BWP was a good place to stay.

We were in the area (sans kids) for a wedding down the road, which seemed to coincide with graduation weekend, so we were a little further away from our goal destination but this worked out great. The hotel was apparently recently renovated. We didn't see much of the rest of the hotel, which was fully booked for the weekend for a convention. The staff were incredibly friendly and we were able to check-in early to get ready for our friends wedding, which was a huge help. Our room had a queen size bed which was very comfy. The room was tastefully decorated, and we had a room at the back of the hotel on the 2nd floor, which was close enough to a separate entrance which was convenient for us. It was very quiet which I thought was great given that the hotel was fully booked! The bathroom was small but flowed well. My only issues were that while yes, the hotel has been renovated not that long ago, the bathroom was a little rushed. There was no fan, so it got very steamy very quickly. I am not 100% certain that they just didn't paint over the panel for it. And the counter was slightly loose, or was once fixed to the wall, but then separated, because you see on one side where it had dropped half an inch, and if you were feeling strong, you could wiggle it. There was also some stray hair here and there, which made me think it had been cleaned in a rush. I didn't bother raising it, because the rest of the room was okay, and we were grateful to get in before check-in at 3. I just ran the shower and had the water get them off the shower walls and tub floor. We had the option of free breakfast, but missed that the next morning, and instead slept in, so can't comment on that. All in all, it was a good stay!

Stayed for 3 nights in a king bed room while visiting family. This Best Western met all our needs, plus more...good location in Kingston, reasonably priced (booked early with 3-night stay rate), clean facilities, very comfy bed, great breakfast which was kept well-stocked and attended. We requested a quiet room on the 2nd floor which the pleasant desk clerk provided. Nice view of the river which ran behind the property. There is an elevator. The room was decent sized and included a frig., microwave, newer flat-screen tv and sofa with a large ottoman. As others have stated, this hotel was recently remodeled. We found the furnishings and decor to be clean, comfortable and very eye-appealing. Well done!! Worth noting, the bathroom had a shower only, no tub. We actually preferred it, but others might not. Would definitely stay here again.

Strange as it may seem, we have but one complaint: the very noisy 5:50AM trash pickup; it was a rude awakening, at least in our room at the back of our hotel. Otherwise we can only say this was a great experience. Our kingside bed was the most comfortable in our memory; we both slept like babies (until the trash truck arrived!). The flat screen TV was enormous and the breakfast buffet was diverse and very good. The swimming pool was the perfect temperature, like tepid bath water; and squeaky clean. The complex which houses, in one space, the conference center, pool, video arcade, and fitness room, was interestingly situated between diagonally disposed wings of the hotel. It has a courtyard feel to it. Last but especially not least, if you are traveling with a dog, there is a long -ago-used, flat and elevated stretch of railroad parallel to the hotel, that is an ideal place for you and your canine best friend to stretch your legs!

Visiting family in Kingston. Needed a place to stay for two nights that was centrally located. Best Western was a good choice. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a good value. I had no problem booking a room. The facility had a very nice, large swimming pool and a moderate exercise room , neither of which I had time to use unfortunately.

Although this property is large, I found it to be quite comfortable and fairly quiet. The location affords quick access to areas and attractions in Kingston. Breakfast is included and offered both warm and cold food choices. It is hard to find vegan food offerings here, though.

Great location, great room. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was attentive and included breakfast was tasty, well presented, and adequate. While we didn't use the in-hotel restaurant, other members of our group said its food and service were great.

I had a class there the next day after my night's stay and originally planned on staying in a cheaper motel down the street the night before, but didn't due to TV problems. I arrived with no reservation a little before 4 PM and was given the lowest rate (matched travel sites on internet) using my AAA card. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in in a motel. The TV was a big high def TV (my guess about 40" but I didn't measure) with good channel selection. Breakfast featured a hot meal with good variety. If I ever have to stay in Kingston again, I would definitely return to this motel.

Stayed in a 2 double bed room with 2 of my friends for a 3 night stay for a wedding. Lovely sized room. Really clean. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was especially lovely and included in the price. Can't fault it

Clean, quiet place to stay. Breakfast regular options. Think charging for pets when LaQuinta and Country Inn and Suites don't is unfair. They don't charge for children who tend to be nosier and messier.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Very good free breakfast. Clean rooms, and pet friendly. Would recommend, and will return. My only complaint is that the bed was too high, which did present a problem for me.

This hotel was an updated version of an older hotel. The updates were nice, but not up to what I consider the standard of Best Western Plus. The hotel was clean and comfortable, with an attentive staff.

Best Western recently took over this hotel and renovated it. They did a very nice job, as the first floor lobby area and the rooms are bright and fresh. The corridors could use a little work, but nothing bad. Service was excellent. The room was clean and quiet and the bed and pillows very comfortable. Two things to note. First, the bathroom is a tight squeeze. Second, the room with a double bed only has one double bed, unlike most hotels. So if you were thinking of sharing a room with someone you don't want to sleep with, make sure you have two beds. I didn't eat the breakfast, but it looked like standard complimentary fare. The coffee was excellent. There's a restaurant / bar, but I did not go there. Overall, this is now the best hotel in Kingston and at their prices, they are a great value too. The location is also great.

We checked in with much confusion(our fault) but were quickly taken care of by a very accommodating staff. Our rooms were great, beds were very comfy and breakfast was ample. We chose BWP, because of previous travel and this one was located conveniently to our activities. The hotel and the staff were very child friendly and did everything to make us feel welcome. We will definitely stay there again.

Staff is extremely professional, courteous and helpful. However, I wish I'd requested an outdoor-facing room, as opposed to the room we ended up in, which faced the interior (indoor) courtyard, where people have events, swim in the pool, and play video games. I also prefer to see daylight and natural setting when I look out the window. Additionally, I really wish that Vegan/Gluten-Free options were offered, both as part of the complementary breakfast AND as part of the regular lunch/dinner/room-service menus!!!!

The room was fabulous from the decor to the comfort of the bed. I had the bed sleep ever away from home. The complimentary breakfast included eggs, sausages, bagels, big fluffy bagels you make yourself and all the usual juices, buns, cereals, fruits etc. I was very satisfied and full. I loved that all the rooms have a frig and microwave. A big thumbs up for this hotel.

Staff was very nice, rooms are clean, the pool area was very clean, arcade area was awesome for kids and adults and breakfast was the best. I will be returning with my family again. Im definitely will recomend this hotel to my friends.

The Best Western Plus Kingston Hotel and Conference Center was better than the ratings that I saw on the sites I checked before I booked the hotel. It was a pleasant surprise. The included breakfast was tasty, plentiful and offered lots of choices.

The comfort & cleanliness of the room was pleasantly surprising since we thought the price was on the lower side. FREE breakfast was actually very good. Close to the highway but you did not feel like you were in an industrial area.

Best Western in Kingston, NY, is centrally located within Ulster County. The rooms are comfortable. There are rooms along the Esopus Creek, where visitors may glimpse all kinds of wildlife, from ducks and geese and song birds, to hawks and eagles, and deer and bunnies. The staff is exemplary. Breakfast is great form most people; I suggest adding gluten free options.

We stayed here for one night while visiting family in the area. We would highly recommend staying here. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. All of the staff was great as well. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both were fabulous.

After a 14 hour drive we desperately needed to find a decent place to stay for the night. We ended up doing much better than just "settling" when we stayed at this Best Western. We received excellent check-in service, a very comfortable and spotless room, and a free breakfast which was MUCH better than the breakfasts we had had while staying at a resort in the Myrtle Beach area. You know those usual free breakfasts---the food looks like it just came out of cellophane wrappers? Here you had the choice of freshly made scrambled eggs, bacon, lots of bagels, muffins, etc---and you could even make your own waffles! What a nice way to wake up and face the last few hours of our drive home. I will definitely be going back to Best Western again.

We stayed here as we were attending a concert nearby. The staff helped us with cab service. The bed was incredibly comfortable, slept like a baby! We really didn't have time to eat at the restaurant as we were on a tight schedule. We checked in and out in less than two minutes. Definitely would return!

I could label this as a "Ditto" from last year's review. My wife and I made the trip up north to visit family and friends.We previously lived around here, so I knew the area. After staying here last year, there was no doubt about staying again. My wife is disabled, so outside of a couple of trips out, we based ourselves at the hotel. My daughter and granddaughter enjoyed the pool and games. Friends and family joined us for dinner at the Capital Bistro where the food was delicious. See you next time!

The hotel was an oasis during a difficult week for my family. We are grateful to all the visible and invisible folks who made our stay so restorative. (And I managed to get all my work done!) Worth the trip over the bridge if you need to be anywhere on the other side of the river as well.

I stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago, prior to it becoming a Best Western and its renovation. The place looks great, very modern and clean. It was a very relaxing stay. Bed was very comfortable.

I stayed at the Best Western for business. The hotel is very large with all kinds of amenities, from a pool, to a game room, and lots more. The staff was very pleasant, my room was very clean. Access was easy and plenty of parking. Location was local to downtown Kingston with plenty to see if you go out on the town.

The staff was pleasant. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We are a rewards member and were given a room upgrade which was very nice. The hotel has a nice bar area and complimentary breakfast had a nice variety. We ate dinner at Keegan Ales, which was pretty close to the BW. Great food and beer with an awesome band on a Thursday night!

I have stayed in hotels on this property for years as it has changed hands many times. This is my favorite incarnation. It is clean, the rooms are nice and the staff is pleasant. The hotel has a pool and gym which I did not use. It is in a good location across from the bus station and walking distance to the historic sights, My only complaint is that the beds are very high and hard for short or older people to get into. Other than than that recommend.

This Best Western has been completely renovated. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We appreciated the hotel's location and enjoyed going downtown for entertainment. Belleayre was only 40 minutes away and the drive there was very enjoyable. Unbeatable rate for the amount of services and comfort. We will be back.

First time staying here so I do not know if all the rooms are the same. We stayed on the first floor in the 100 wing. Check in was very good even though they were busy. Buffet breakfast was very good. The room looked nice but the bed was so high that my wife who is 5' 2" basically had to jump onto the bed. The bathroom is very small and with the curved shower rod the door does not open fully. The toilet is low, I work in a hospital and it reminded me of a pediatric toilet. The bathroom exhaust duct was a single duct with a grille in our bathroom and one in the bathroom in the room next to ours. Anything said in the bathroom is easily heard in the bathroom next store. At night we shut our bathroom door to try and limit the transfer of noise. The other issue was the number of kids running around the hallways as late as 10:50 and as early as 07:00, what ever happened to parents being parents and watching their children? Not sure if we would stay here again.

We had a GREAT stay at the Best Western in Kingston NY. The hotel is located just off the NYS Thruway. The hotel is in walking distance to a small outdoor mall. A 10 minute drive and you will find every store you could imagine, a multiplex movie theatre and tons of places to eat. The hotel is about 30 minutes from 4 major ski mountains. On the second day of our trip we had major rain and hail. The indoor pool was the best to keep the children occupied when we could not go skiing.

I was here for one night for a business conference. Check in was quick and easy and my request for a first floor room was accommodated easily. The restaurant was good and so was the breakfast. Definitely recommend this hotel as it has been redecorated.

We were pleased with the style, service and amenities available. Small microwave and fridge in the room was nice. The décor was modern. The layout of the hotel is efficient. Indoor pool for families. A lot of families stay here. We ate at the restaurant for dinner. It was nice. The morning complimentary breakfast was good. Staff was helpful and attentive. Check in & out was organized and efficient. We would stay here again. You just have to be aware that they allow dogs in the hotel.

Nice hotel, and when you take the options in the area into consideration it is very nice. Indoor pool, hot tub, and the free breakfast is solid. The restaurant/bar makes a nice drink as well. Very comfortable bed and friendly staff. The closest hotel over 3 stars that I was able to find to Hunter Mountain.

Hands down the nicest Best Western I have stayed. Would definitely consider staying there again. Our family of four very much enjoyed the overnight at the hotel for our MLK ski weekend. The only suggestion I would make is for the restaurant to have non-dairy milk.

the room had a blinking blue light (smoke detector?) that went off every 2 minutes that was like sleeping with a strobe light on..it woke us up all night.. the coffee pot wasn't very clean and was located in the bathroom..

This hotel has had many iterations. I remember it when it was a Holiday Inn - and it was old, tired and not a very friendly place. New ownership has made a big difference! My BF has a place in Ulster County but it's faaaar away from Kingston. I wanted to stay in town for my birthday and my usual go-to hotel chain was booked so we decided to try the Best Western. From our check-in (which they were able to do early) to check out (standard is 12 noon - which is great!) it was a lovely experience! Also, they allow dogs in some rooms and we brought my BF's. Sometimes you feel like you're in the "dog pound" yourself in a dog friendly property - but not here. The room was very nice - business hotel style. Clean, modern, comforter on the bed. I would say that if you don't want to hear the sound of children screaming - ask for a room far away from the pool - which is situated right in the middle of the property in a courtyard type arrangement. Also, we were by an exterior door and that door SLAMMED and SLAMMED and SLAMMED. I Do hope they think of a way to mitigate that - it was the only hiccup in a very nice stay.

I stayed here to visit a festival at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. I Stayed for 3 nights on a busy weekend. Staff was helpful and cleaning staff was exceptionally nice. The hotel itself was located near the Thruway which makes the hotel best if you are looking for a one night stay. The location near the roads busy intersection do not make the area walking friendly. There is a wonderful diner around the corner, about a one third of a mile.. but walking there is not advisable. The back of the property appears wooded but not a place to walk. There was an indoor pool which looked very nice. Normally, I would be using it but my schedule did not permit this visit. My room was recently remodelled. The entire room, furnishings, bathroom, TV, etc were all brand new. It was decorated more in the style of a large Marriott hotel -- more upscale than I was expecting. My room overlooked the pool. If you prefer windows with an outside view, you should request it. The price for the weekend was ok but it is Kingston, not Rhinebeck. I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it when staying in Kingston.

High quality hotel and amenities. Hotel was recently renovated so everything is new. The attention to detail to make your stay high quality is obvious. The restaurant has excellent food and is open from 5pm-10pm. Room service is available if you don't want to go to the restaurant and your food will arrive hot. The breakfast buffet is good. There is a glass enclosed fitness area that looks out onto the indoor pool. There is also an arcade area for kids of all ages in the same area. The hotel is also pet friendly. There is a separate pet section so that you will have easy access to take your dog out. Also if you don't like the idea of pets you wont be bothered because it is a separate section with its' own hallway. There is a large conference center. This hotel is suitable for business or family travel and centrally located to all local activities.

Hotel was clean and friendly The staff was willing to help with our New Years Eve get together. My only complaint is that the pool could have had extended hours during the holiday weekend. (New Years Eve) This hotel is a great place to stay with kids.

Best hotel I've stayed at in a long time. Quick check in & great room. I was in room 205. King sized really comfortable bed. I ordered a caprese salad for dinner. Well worth the $9.00 and it was delivered in 15 minutes with a warm chunk of warm bread.

My company's holiday party took place at the recently renovated Best Western. This used to be a holiday inn. Entrance, bar and restaurant all very nice now. Laurie was a great bartender. Of course food at a party is important. They did not disappoint. Vegetables were fresh and cooked properly. Salmon and Prime Rib were well prepared. The salmon had a flavorful sauce and was not overcooked. The seasoning on the Prime Rib was awesome.

My family and I have been staying at this hotel for many years through all the hotel changes they have made and were very impressed with the work and modern detail the hotel now has. It was nice to see how far along they've come. We were impressed with how clean the rooms were and through those changes how they continue having pet friendly rooms. We had an issue with other guests and smoking in their rooms (mind you the hotel is completely non-smoking) and the manager on duty was very accommodating and helped rectify the situation. We will definitely be back again.

We had an overnight stay while visiting for the Polar Express ride. The lobby had a cozy fireplace and bar. The restaurant was an open space next to the bar. The complimentary hot breakfast was very good. Our room's window faced the inside of the hotel/indoor pool, which I think is a little depressing (I prefer to view outside, have natural sunlight in the room).The rooms were clean and spacious. There was an indoor pool in an open space with walls around it. The "game room" was outdated but it amused my 4 year olds.

I definitely RECOMMEND this facility for on the road trip. It is a full service hotel, convenient and clean with a professional, friendly staff. I love the pool and exercise area. It was a lovely safe place to stay over the Thanksgiving Holiday. The front desk staff was extremely helpful with suggestions re area highlights and restaurant directions. Would stay there again and am recommending to family members.

I recently stayed at this Best Western due its proximity to some local holiday events near Kingston and I couldn't be happier with my decision. It's right off the NYS Thruway, is aesthetically pleasing, modern, has an indoor pool, arcade, complimentary breakfast (which was delicious), comfortable beds and a great price. My one critique of the hotel would have to be with the pool temperature---it was way too cold in a relatively cool room.

I've stayed here once before a few years ago and wow, what a nice remodel! I stayed in a king suite and it was wonderful. Great breakfast also. The girl who checked us in was pleasant. I'll def be returning as there is also plenty to due in the area!

While nicely renovated, nothing can diminish the horrible experience of the pool attendant. While visiting a family member from out of state that had stayed at this particular hotel for over thirty years, my wife along with our three children, her sister and one child were made to exit the pool because we were not staying at the hotel personally. This has never been an issue at any other hotel, EVER. The pool attendant was using his laptop and on the phone and a female accompanying him in whatever manner was in and out of the pool. Next thing you know he is asking us who is actually staying at the hotel and those who did not have a room were not allowed in the pool. Then he packs up his electronics, the girl leaves and minutes later the front desk manager comes to tell us three(3) non guests can be in the pool but not all six (6), inclusive of children and two mothers (two fathers and actual guest were not in the pool but sitting outside). Other than our group and the accompanying female to the pool attendant there was not one sole in the vicinity. A terrible experience to end three decades of memories at the Holiday Inn, especially for the young children ages, 1, 3, 3 and 9.

This Best Western is very close to I-87, which put it just a bit further away from the places I usually go while in the area (Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Hudson Valley Mall, etc.); however, though it wasn't a plus for me it might be a big plus for someone with a different travel itinerary. The room itself had very attractive furnishings and decor, which seemed quite up to date. However, the setting for these is what seems to be an older, but overall well-maintained, building/complex. It has this rather bizarre triangular lay-out, which has as its center the "Garden Courtyard" /Pool Area/Fitness Center/etc which is under the same roof as the rest of the property. Our room was on the first floor, and I found it a bit creepy and unappealing that people could walk right by (or, theoretically, walk up to and stay at) our window. Also, though we didn't experience a problem with noise due to this lay-out while we were there, it would seem like the potential would exist. Service and staff friendliness went from excellent to "meh"...depended on who we encountered. It's not a bad place, but I just didn't like the physical lay-out and will choose a more modern property in the future.

Was in town for a class and was referred to this hotel. As other reviews have commented, the initial impression of the neighborhood was that it was rather questionable, but had no problems. Encountered a problem with the A/C unit in my room and the front desk attendant immediately put me in a different room. No problems there. Hotel is very clean and updated on the inside. Would have no problems going back again.

I booked this hotel for two people and a dog at a AAA/AARP rate of $134.10 (Plus $20 for dog). When plans changed, I changed the reservation to one person with no dog and was told rate would be the same. When I checked in (one person, no dog), desk clerk was going to charge me $161/nite and would not back down until I produced copy of email with $134.10 rate. The next morning I found a bill under my door -- with a $20 dog fee! Back to the desk I went to get the charge lowered again. This is a convenient dog-friendly hotel for Hudson River Valley sightseeing and has an OK light breakfast. Rooms are far from soundproof. Rehab has improved rooms. BUT check your bill!!

If you are touring the Hudson River area of mansions, Rhinebeck, Culinary Institute of America, fall foliage, etc. this is a decent and economical choice to serve as your base of operations. The location is convenient to I-87, a "straight" shot up the road from Newark (EWR). Be sure to pay for the toll road option on your rental car, you will need it. The hotel is spread out in multiple wings and looks like a 30 year old Holiday Inn structurally. But it has been recently refurbished and has a clean, crisp and tasteful feeling about it. It features a large indoor swimming pool, a decent-sized exercise room, and a (teenage-friendly?) arcade. The included hot breakfast was adequate. Our room (#327) was on the back side. It was the most remote location from parking but also potentially the quietest. It looked very nice and was comfortable and clean. However, there are noise transmission issues. You need to hope that there are no large groups in residence while you are there. Noise from the hall and/or an adjacent room can easily impact the quality of your sleep, It is a potential problem, so take your ear plugs. You may need them.

We stayed two nights here while visiting the area. The hotel was renovated not too long ago, and was clean and comfortable. Our room was fairly large, although the bathroom was small. Breakfast was fairly minimal, but adequate, with eggs and sausage, pastries, cereal, and waffles. We are normally not wild about hotel food, but were tired after walking around, and ate at the hotel our first night, and the food was surprisingly good. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. You could walk to the Uptown historical area from the hotel, but need to cross a busy road, which had construction going on, and the crossing signals did not work. Best to drive to the historical district and find parking (not easy). We would stay there again if we visited Kingston again.

I stayed in this hotel the weekend of 16th - 19th and it was a great experience. This hotel is very clean and comfortable. The king size bed was amazing, I wanted to take it home with me. The bathroom is spotless, with plenty of amenities for coffee/tea as well as towels. I stayed in my hotel room very comfortably for the 3 nights I was in Kingston and I have already booked my room for next year. Room service was amazing, I had a very tasty burger and fries. It was pricey, but well worth the splurge! If I had 2 suggestions, I would say offer bacon in the continental breakfast. The breakfast was amazing, loaded with plenty of foods to choose from, but some people prefer bacon over sausage. Secondly, during major local events, such as the New York Sheep and Wool Festival, some sort of hotel shuttle providing travel to and from the hotel/fairgrounds would be nice. It would be a convenient service that I believe people would utilize if they are visitors in the area and don't want to drive or do not have transportation other than a taxi to and from the event (and other events). Can't wait to stay here next year!

This hotel has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay! Our room was immaculate; the bathroom was small - TINY - but sparkling clean with lots of supplies! The business center is one of the few I've found that was easy to access, everything worked and always available. The machines in the fitness center actually worked!

Stayed here for the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool festival. They just did a $6 million overhaul of the building. It is a triangular shaped building and it looks like there had been a center triangular courtyard open to the air which is now enclosed with a ceiling that is mostly solid with a few skylights. It is called the Garden Courtyard but there is nothing organic in it. It is concrete and paving stone with a swimming pool, an arcade area of games, a fitness center and a large seating area with tables where dinner or breakfast can be served in addition to the restaurant. It seemed the sitting area in the courtyard was for special events and the restaurant is open to the public and people staying at the hotel. We had a suite which was very comfortable. It looks like they took two former single rooms and turned them into a suite with a bedroom and a living room with a door in between. One great feature of this is they left the full bathroom in the living room part of the suite. This meant my wife could have one bathroom and I could have the other in the morning. Great for getting out in a hurry. They bathrooms are large and have very generous counter top space. Most hotels I have stayed in usually give you inadequate counter top space in the bathroom. Plus the living room part of the suite has a refrigerator and microwave. It addition there is ample lighting and the lamp bases on the tables have multiple outlets making it very easy to plug in laptops and charges for cell phones. The rooms the suites are in are longer than most hotel rooms which means there is plenty of room on either side of the king sized bed. Usually I find suites to be pretty crowded to the left and right of the bed but not here. Very nice feature. They fill in the extra space with comfortable upholstered chairs. The suites open onto the courtyard and sometimes it can be a little noisy if there are events going on in the courtyard although it never got unbearable. There is only one suite that does not face the courtyard but faces the outside of the building towards the stream. Also the rooms facing the courtyard do not have any outdoor sunlight window. They face the courtyard but the courtyard does not have much natural light. But the windows facing the courtyard have privacy blinds that work fine. One advantage is if you want to sleep late the sunlight won't wake you up. The doors of the room open right onto a sidewalk so people do walk just outside your doors frequently. There is one door into the courtyard from the bedroom and one from the living room. Plus there are two doors on the other side of the rooms into a hallway. 4 doors in the suite altogether. The restaurant is a nice solid restaurant. Large menu with a bar and so convenient to have right in the hotel. Opens at 5. There is a full bar there also and this is where the free breakfast is also served. It's not a fine dining restaurant or a special event restaurant but perfectly fine as a hotel restaurant. The location is very convenient and the suites are great. The quirky things are the non garden Garden Courtyard and the fact the many of the rooms are completely interior with no windows facing the outdoor sunlight. Despite the quirks I would stay here again. The staff was very accommodating. At one point my wife needed cough drops and a large Phillip's head screwdriver for a piece of equipment she had brought with her. We went up to the desk and they had both. Very friendly at the desk.

The lobby and rooms are modern, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms look new. I had a room in the back and it was very quiet. There was no tub in my bathroom, but the shower was really good. Coffee at breakfast was good...very important to me.

I had to do business in the area and found most of the hotels were sold out so I booked the Best Western Plus. The website showed photos that made the place look very nice. The rates were very over priced, about more than double of what a similar hotel would charge. The room was not very clean and the ceiling was full of cobwebs! I saw a few large spiders in the ceiling and walls. The bathroom was dirty looking with old tile and dirty grout. There was hair from pervious guests in the tub and floor. The TV was an HDTV flat screen but did not have an HDTV picture. The A/C heater was noisy. The free WiFi was so slow it wasn't useable beyond checking emails. This hotel needs to clean up and adjust their rates to a appropriate cost. They offered free breakfast but the room was over crowded and I was not able to take advantage of it.

The room was very clean and the food was good. The hotel staff were pleasant and willing to assist the guests. We did not use the pool, but it also was clean. My room was near the games room but I never heard noise.

Traveling south with my 86 year old mother. We were looking for a place to really relax after 6 days of packing her home, saying good-byes and watching the moving van drive away. This hotel was the place! Clean hotel, very comfortable beds, easily accessible with breakfast included we were able to rest up before the next leg of the journey. Many thanks to the staff. The young man who checked us made sure we had a first floor room just a short walk to the parking lot. In the morning Jim repaired my mother's eyeglasses (she had stepped on them).

Everything was great will go back . Was there for work breakfast was so so good . People should tip the staff out that sets up and breaks down breakfast . The rooms where nice and clean and the staff is amazing. U should hit it up and chic's sports bar down the road is a great place to eat and drink . John the bartender was great and made us feel like at home ??????

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in September as we further explored the beautiful Hudson Valley area. The location was fine for us, right next to a great little Italian restaurant with huge portions that we highly recommend. The rates were a little high at the hotel. However, the breakfast they provide was very nice and had many choices including eggs, waffles, muffins, bagels, cereal, yogurt and fruit. The room was fine, bed so-so in comfort. We had to get double queens since that was all that was available. Big girl soccer? weekend there. One bed was so close to the wall without a nightstand next to my side. Only complaint and not a big one. The coffee maker was in the bathroom instead of on the desk which was strange. Free wifi which intermittently cut out since too many people were using it. Never got a chance to try pool. It was locked when we went. However, we were comfortable and we would consider staying there again.

This is the third time we have stayed here in the last 18 months and we weren't disappointed. We enjoy bringing our pet Shih Tzu with us and the room was very clean. The only minor issue we had was the television, which for some reason had a pretty bad reception. We called the front desk about the issue and they sent an employee to look at it, but he told us the poor reception was prevalent throughout the entire hotel. We never had an issue in our other two stays. But again, the room was clean and the free breakfasts were great.

We love to stay here at Best Western in Kingston, NY. It's a great place to relax & unwind. The pool is nice & warm, the restaurant is great & the (included) breakfast is just right! The hotel is right in the middle of lots of interesting things & places to see.

I love this hotel. The best part of it is that they have a very nice size pool and it is warm. I love that it is not freezing cold. The rooms have been updated and the air conditioning works great now!

Really a wonderful stay. The lounge was great, and the breakfast was average but hey, it's free! Free Wifi, free parking and clean and recently renovated inside. The staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Really a wonderful staff, I can't say enough good about them. Dylan at the front desk was really great and answered all our questions, ie: the hotel has do it yourself laundry, free newspapers, and offers free soap, shower caps, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion,, etc... We would definitely go back. The one thing that confused us, but now we understand is- the fan in the bathroom doesn't sound like it is on, but actually it is always running. There is a hair dryer in the closet of the room in a black bag- and if you want to dry off the mirror - that's what I used.

I was going to a symposium and was given the name of the hotel. The staff was professional yet very friendly making me feel they cared about me. The room was ultra comfortable. As a smoker I was a bit concerned since it is non-smoking but they had areas strategical located that did not make it difficult to have a smoke.

All of the staff were very helpful, friendly, patient and kind. The hotel has just been renovated- so very nice decor, clean and the beds are very comfortable. Their is a very large indoor courtyard with pool and arcade fun for the family. The price of the room was very affordable. Will stay again when I visit the area. Great location if attending Omega Events

We had a comfortable stay. This was our first stay at a BW Plus. We will look for them again! The location is very convenient and highway is only a short distance to the hotel. Staff was very friendly. Keep up the good work! Thank you!

Big business and conference hotel. Very utilitarian. Bed was particularly comfortable and the shower worked and was easy to figure out. Did not have a 2 night minimum. Ease of access to the Thruway and downtown.

After spending a nice day in Kingston, we decided to stay in the area. As it happened, we obtained the last room available in this Best Western for this particular Saturday night. The hotel is large, but easy to navigate. It has a nice indoor courtyard. We were happy that the hotel had a good restaurant on site. The food and service were excellent. We enjoyed a drink at the bar. Breakfast in the morning was well presented and good. It was a great experience and I would recommend this hotel.
