    « Wedding anniversary disappointment »

Superior room that was very far from. Cold, view of the bins, no shower gel. Was overall very disappointed. Even though the staff are lovely and friendly I felt that the room really let the side down. It was a basic room and should be priced accordingly. Was overlooked by the gym so keep the curtains closed

    « Nice hotel »

Stayed two nights recently with our 2 kids. Room lovely but quite small. Very little room to get around. Lovely large bathroom. One small negative was that stopper in bath did not fit so was not able to bath kids. Also we were provided with shampoo but no body wash. Staff lovely and friendly. Hotel in great central location. Be careful driving into car park!

« Excellent value and centrally located hotel »

This hotel is centrally located in town and has a lovely bar/restaurant with great Irish music. Staff members were friendly, warm, and very helpful. The rooms are adequate in size and comfortable. This is a large, older building so finding one's room may take a bit of extra effort (follow the signs).

    « Coach trip »

Sent three nights here hotel beautiful, very clean, food was well cooked and very appetising Staff were very friendly room was very large beautifully decorated had double and single bed large walk in shower Sofa and chairs and coffee table Kitchen Would definitely stay here again Danny Mann pub attached to hotel with live music nightly

« Right in the city center »

This hotel has a great location right in the city center. Easy to walk to places to eat or shop. The hotel does have a small parking lot but you need a VERY SMALL car to get down the alley way. We had a VW Golf and barely could fit. The hotel is older but the room was just fine. We would stay here again if we return to Killarney.

    2
    « Odd hotel »

The staff was nice and the hotel was clean. Parking was very limited and difficult to access. Also getting to the reception from the parking area took you through what looked like a former (?) strip club and through the pub/restaurant. Nothing like having to haul your luggage through all of that just to get to the reception area and elevators.

    « Perfect location! »

We stayed here just for a Sunday night and I'm so glad we picked this place. The location is perfect literally in the town and a short drive to Killarney National Park and Muckross House. There is car parking available which wasn't a shortage on a Sunday evening but may be other nights. The room was very spacious and so clean. It was a bargain at €59 euro a night!

    5
    « Great Location »

If you are looking for a good hotel amid the hustle and bustle with plenty of night life then this the place. The hotel has great rooms and good staff . The hotel has its own attached pub with live Music every night and good Guiness

« Staff grand - everything else mediocre..... »

I stayed here for 3 nights as I was attending a near by conference. Firstly I want to say that the all the staff was friendly and helpful. Other than that, and a good location, this hotel is a master-class in mediocrity. My room was beside some sort of machinery for ventilation or heating....which kept me awake for a good part of each night. The breakfast was atrocious...everything was overdone or cold, there was little to choose from if you wanted to eat healthily, the coffee was insipid. I decided to have breakfast in a nearby cafe for my last morning. Killarney is beautiful, I will come back to visit, but will stay in one of the other many hotels in and around the town. Ultimately I could not recommend staying here.

« Good place to stay »

Entrance cramped, car park too small to hold many cars, but the rooms were nice, bit old fashioned. It was quiet and clean, lots of tea/coffee in room. Pub downstairs, music at night. Breakfast was very good, lots to choose from.

« Just right for Town Centre entertainment »

Just returned after 4 nights in the Eviston House, this is well located for those wanting to visit all of the local hostelries. Trip was organised by GB Tours, hotel was excellent value for the money, room was comfortable nice king size bed, flat screen TV and all the usual requirements, meals were very good, staff were all very friendly and helpful, they are a credit to the hotel.

« Ring of Kerry break »

What can I say, from the very very welcoming late Monday evening. The receptionist was extremely welcoming, helpful and very enthusiastic. Just what we needed after a long drive from Dublin. Our room number 222 was excellent, two large beds, excellent bathroom and shower facilities. Very clean and well stocked tea coffee facilities. Just what we needed. Nothing was too much trouble for this great hotel. Breakfast was self service but was really nice. Help yourself to as much as you wanted. Excellent. Evening dinner was held in the Danny Mann Pub, joined onto the hotel. 3 courses excellently presented, plent of it and a free glass of Guiness. Entertainment was brilliant, father and son act Celtic Vision. So far an excellent break.

I had great stay at the eviston! We stay every year and each year gets better. I would like to say a special thank you to the night porter Jan (not sure if that's the correct spelling) for looking after us and being very friendly and always smiling!

    « Mauras the BEST!! »

Stay in this hotel roughly 15 times... I have to say evertime was a delight but my most recent stay was the best.. myself and my partner were on a day trip and decided to stay in killarney, I picked the best western as I knew it was the perfect location.. from the second we entered the reception Maura was AMAZING!! So plesent, lively, energetic and accommodating. She was the most friendly and pleasing person. O have ever met.. could not do enough for us.. I checked in late and only realised she was finished her shift shortly after. ..I could not believe she was so hospitable only a short time before her shift ends... she is a credit to the hotel and kerry people.. thank you Maura for a fabulous welcome and room ??

    « Killarney »

The hotel was ideally placed in the center of town. It was close to everything. The staff at the hotel and the attached pub were very good. It is a half block to the main shopping district in the town. The attached pub was a nice place to eat and have a drink. They had entertainment in the pub each night. The food was very good.

    2
    « So so »

Very good location in centre of town and next to Danny Mann pub which had live Irish music each night. My room faced an ugly brick wall but as I only slept there I was not concerned a quiet room at the back. The food was not the best very little choice although breakfast was OK I had 4 nights in this hotel but would not recommend it.

    « I loved the Music bar »

I stayed in this hotel fo two nighs in a triple room. The room was big and also the bath. We have three beds (I was very happy, because in Ireland it's common to use a french bed and a single bed fir triple rooms). We booked one night with a special online promotion (129euro) and the other night without it (169euro) the room was the same. The price, in my opinion, is correct for the first night not for the second night. The main problem was that our room was cold. We tried to modify but I think they closed it centrally. Breakfast was ok, I tried the continental breakfast if you want full Irish breakfast I think you have to pay something. I loved the bar downstairs the hotel, it was very big and with Irish musicians. I like the menù and there are options for vegetarians. I liked it and I kindly suggest.

« Great base for Killarney »

Located in the centre of Killarney ideal base for what we had planned this visit. The car park is very small and accessed by a laneway but off street parking is a 5 minute walk away with a set down area in the front of the hotel..works out at €9 for the day but it's free after 6.30pm until 9am the next morning so no hassle if you're planning on driving to see places. Place was spotless with very friendly staff from reception to the bar. Maura was very helpful in helping planning trips and giving directions on what to see and do. Will be back soon as it's the perfect base to explore what Kerry has to offer.

    4
« Bus trip round ring of Kerry »

Nice town centre hotel. I could just see the top of mountains from room.the high light was the singers in the bar, but you could walk down the road and see other singers in other bars most with an Irish flavour , menu looked good but coach trips had a limited menu and they preferred each group to eat at the same time.

    4
    « The Irish welcome »

We stopped at the best western Eviston house hotel in Killarney on our 5 day trip to view the famous ring of Kerry, our stop was half board and the food was excellent , the room are reasonable big plenty of room, clean and tidy and well to our liking. The hotel is attached to a ground floor public bar were the evening entertainment is typical of the Irish culture which will get you tapping you feet along to the music and singing. The hotel and bar staff are very welcoming and make you feel right at home from the very start, the hotel is situated well in the town of Killarney with shops, bars are places all around to eat out if you wanted, and we found the Irish were ever you may be very friendly and helpful , and if ever we were to return one day we would stay here again without hesitation .

    « Grand »

Hotel was a bit overpriced for what it was. I paid €260 and I presume that is because of the location. Location is Perfect. no taxi's and everything is in walking distance. Bed was comfy and staff are nice. only 15 car parking spaces so make sure to get there early. TV had nothing on it only 4 working stations so if you are planing an early night because two nights, you wont be watching TV!! Like I said its GRAAAAANNND! but for 260 for two nights it would have been nice to have Breakfast included

    4
    « Nice hotel »

A pleasant hotel right in the centre of Killarney. Although my room had no sort of view (apart of the room opposite) and some of the fixtures and fittings were looking a little past their best, it was comfortable and kept spotlessly clean by the staff. Anyone who refolds my pyjamas more neatly than I did is OK with me :) Food in the restaurant was always very pleasant, and the staff in there were friendly and efficient. The attached pub, Danny Mann's was not to my taste - far too noisy, often with small children running around long after they should have been In bed. There are many other much more traditional pubs with cheaper beer and better live music within a short distance - head for Plunkett Street.

    « great location »

The outstanding positive of this hotel was the staff especially on reception, restaurant, and accommodation. The rooms were clean, but the hotel itself was not the iron stairs was full of dust and guys please look up, The pelmet over the toaster in the breakfast room was absolutely hanging with cobwebs. Killarney is a busy and expensive town but that's no excuse for bad management. The room which was very cramped, with breakfast for two was 169 euro, very pricey for dust and cobwebs. Look after your staff its the reason your busy!!!!

    « Awful hotel »

We booked our hotel on hotels.com - partially as a result of the ratings we read on trip advisor. I don't know how anyone could give this room a 4 star rating. The rooms and the hotel is old, outdated and tired. They had a tour group in the hotel when we were their and they dominated the hotel. Regular guests were left out in the cold...or in the case of this hotel - the heat. It was unbearable. One very old and not very effective 5 euro fan was all there was to combat the heat. Our view was the heating units. And a brick wall. Oh and NO parking as advertised. We had to leave our car in public parking 3 blocks away. Never ever again. BUT before I close out this review I have to tell you that my one star was for the lovely ladies at the front desk who did their VERY best to make 2 very unhappy Canadians - happy.

    4
« Right in the heart of town »

Located in the heart of downtown Killarney, this place is close to everything. The hotel is well maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful. One of the desk ladies even has a photographic memory and will call you by name every time you speak. Overall a nice place in Killarney. Onsite bar with live music nightly...

    5
« Central with Fab helpful staff »

I stayed in the hotel with a group of friends for two nights. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the food was excellent. The staff were absolutely fabulous and very friendly from Una who dealt with our booking to the lads in the bar, Mark (Belfast) Balmer, Kris Muciek, Robbie Carey and Marcin Szczurek through to the lovely Jennifer who couldn't be more helpful. All in all a fab place to stay.

    4
    « Nice Hotel »

The hotel was very nice, it is attached to a restaurant and bar. The staff at the bar was very helpful and friendly. It did get very busy!!! It was Friday night. the shops in town were open until 11:00 PM, that was a great plus!!! The parking is very terrible and confusing, don't bother!! Just go around the corner to the Left and use the big lot for a few Euros!! Had a very hard time getting coffee in the AM, Gloria Jeans a few doors down did not open until 8 am, and the hotel would not let us get just coffee, we would have to get breakfast as well. We did not want to eat just yet!!

    4
    « Location and Maura »

We stayed there with a group of 20 from the USA. At first glance it looks a bit dated, but the rooms were first rate, very clean and comfortable. Maura at the front desk was extremely friendly. She gave me the name of a web site to find my relatives, which I have since misplaced. The dinner and breakfasts were very good and plentiful. There was music nightly in a lounge at the hotel. It was walking distance to many shops and attractions. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

    3
    « Very noisy »

Great central location but this was a disadvantage for us as it was very noisy. Next door to the Danny Mann Pub which is great for live music every night but our room 311 was above the front entrance and we were kept awake by everyone leaving the pub and congregating to chat and say their goodbyes for an hour at 3am!! Restaurant on 1st floor, dinner good choice of menu and well-served, breakfast a big more basic. Good lift to all floors.

    5
    « Highly recommend »

Good sized hotel. Excellent friendly staff at reception. I made an error with the date on booking.com and Jackie the receptionist rectified it without issue. We were also upgraded to a deluxe room tonight (Saturday night). Delighted. There are lifts in the hotel. Beds are comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean. Plenty of facilities in the room including a whirlpool bath!! Teas coffees kettle etc. Full length mirror. Location is excellent in the town centre. Unfortunately there is no parking but there is a car park near by which was free over the weekend so we didn't have to pay and display. One small criticism, the signage outside it a bit confusing. Or maybe it's just me! Took us a bit of time to find the hotel.

    « Breakfast wasn't great »

Me, my girlfriend and her family stayed here on the 2nd of September for one night. The rooms were really nice and spacious, just what you expect from a Best Western Hotel! Breakfast was okay but could have been a lot better... Parts of the buffet ran out without being replaced very quick. We waited ages for the fried eggs to come out! The tables aren't very big either, four of us squished on to a two seater in my opinion. The tables weren't cleaned very often so all in all the breakfast wasn't brilliant especially for a charge of £11 each!!! All in all, the hotel was as expected with a nice room and great staff. The bar connected was nice and also lovely in the evening with some live music from 9pm!

    4
    « Maura was fantastic »

Stayed here last weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The decor is quite pleasant and we received a well sized room even after booking last minute. The receptionist Maura was brilliant from the minute we stepped through the door. She was so friendly and welcoming we really couldn't fault her. She's definitely an assist to the hotel! Great hotel if you are looking for something on a budget.

    2
« Room smelled of urine »

We spent one night here and found the room to be unclean with hair on the sheets and scuffs/dirt on walls, and very tiny in size for a triple room (it was the smallest room we had all trip - and we stayed at several B&Bs which you'd expect would be the smallest). As I went to bed, I got a whiff of urine, which we narrowed down to an area next to the nightstand. How it got there I don't want to imagine. At this point, it was late and we needed to be up in a few hours so I slept as far away as I could and put up with it. The only upsides of this place is the location right in the middle of the town, and the additional public parking lot a block away for overflow. Front desk staff were also welcoming upon arrival. Wouldn't stay again, however, as the cleanliness and room size was not worth the price paid per night in my opinion.

    3
    « Average »

This hotel is situated in Killarney town. It's ideally located if you want to be in the middle of this beautiful town. Alley way into car park in very VERY narrow. Hotel itself is ok. I didn't eat here but might give it a go on my next visit. Rooms are OK. Hotel lobby is ok. Hallway is ok. Everything is just ok and I feel there would have to be some sort of revamp before I could give it any higher rating. I stayed here on a business trip and was charged 129 room only. I could have stayed in a higher star hotel down the road for 80 B + B with swimming pool and spa. This hotel was very expensive for what it has to offer.

    2
    « Family room, overnight b+b, 2+2 »

Room was stifling hot, window opened out to boiler. No aircon, reception offered a fan but there was one already plugged in just circulating the hot air around. Had obviously been a factor previously. Whirlpool tub broken. Beds are comfortable and breakfast is fair. Service in the bar was slow and selection of beverages below average. We won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this hotel

    4
    « Spacious Rooms. »

We were traveling through Ireland and were desperate for a room with space and a good shower after having stayed in B&Bs and Inns for a week. This hotel isn't luxury, but the rooms were big and the shower was amazing. It was more in line with a traditional American hotel which is what we were looking for to spread out and repack our bags for another week of traveling. I would recommend this if you are looking for something simple and roomy. No bells and whistles, but great.

« 'Robbed', of my holiday experience!! »

Myself and my friends arrived here for two nights in July as part of are round trip of Ireland. Upon leaving on the last day i gathered the full amount of money in cash from my friends to cover the bill and handed this to the receptionist- stupidly not getting a receipt!! As to my disgust the next day the hotel still debited my account with the bill. So yes.. I paid twice and mistakingly forgot to ask for a receipt. ( only home from Australia after 5 years and thought I could put my trust in Irish people, oh how I was wrong) I contacted the hotel and explained this to which they replied they never received any cash.. I asked them to check cameras etc to know response. After several liaisons with the manager of the hotel arguing that they never received cash and promising to ring back several times and never did.. (obviously seen an opportunity and grabbed it) I have put it down to experience to NEVER not get a receipt and that I don't have a leg to stand on and that my trust put into the supposedly 'good', people of Killarney has withered. Needless to say I don't need to say much more!! I think you can make your own assumptions from my experience. The manager and staff of this hotel are disgusting with their lies.. I hope your proud of yourselves and as warned this review would be submitted if my money was not refunded!!! Future guests... All I can say is........... Enjoy!!!!!!

    « Underwhelming »

We had a double room on the second floor. The room was fine a little disappointing and small far from glam! walls scuffed and marked all looked a little tired. seemed clean tho. view was of a/c units which hummed. Shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Staff were nice. found the overall experience expensive for what it was, nor did we have breakfast included in the price. Declined to pay the hotel and extra €10 for their breakfast when we were simply able to go couple of doors up and have a relaxing breakfast after checkout time for €8

    « Jewel in Killarney »

After two weeks of many hotels in Ireland we checked into the Eviston House. What a joy. Great room, good food down stairs in the pub and awesome breakfast, even for me with gluten allergies. The concern showed by wait staff to make sure I did not chance upon gluten was so sweet. Did I mention the music downstairs? Great Irish music and ambience. Located right down town it was convenient to everything. Only wish, that we could return again very soon.

« Great Location, Fabulous Service »

You can't find a better hotel in a more convenient location. The rooms were well apportioned and the staff helpful and friendly. There is free parking available and once I was there I didn't need to drive anywhere. Stayed three nights and had a fabulous time each day. This was my second stay at this hotel and I recommend it highly.

  • 3
    « Central location »

Stayed her for a night august bank holiday. Only picked this hotel as there was very little choice left on a bank holiday week end. It's an old hotel and best thing about it is it's location. No parking .Rooms are dated and dark. Bar has music and was full. I thought it was priced too high for the standard of accommodation.

    4
    « Great experience »

Me and my girlfriend stayed here on a Thursday and Friday excellent location in the town centre rooms were spotless couldn't fault anything didn't have the breakfast but stayed here before and it was very nice, parking is limited at back of hotel but you would need a small car to fit down alleyway over all it was a great experience!!!!

    5
    « Great service »

When we checked in first, there was a strange smell in the room, I called reception and within 5 minutes, the manager Mark called to the room and relocated us to another room. He upgraded the room because of any inconvenience. The food is great, the staff are friendly and helpful and its a perfect location.

    2
    « Good location »

Stayed 30th July 2016. Without a doubt the location of this hotel is one of it's best assets.. the next best thing are the frendly courteous staff.. hotel is old and in need of updating. Room very dark and overlooking a black tiled building. Priced at four star quality but not four star standard.

    3
    « Nice »

Staff was very nice. The building is very old so there is obviously a bit of work to do in the rooms. Okd carpet and stained bath (mold maybe?-I don't know). Besides that, it seemed clean! Very well located too! I would go again if I went back to Killarney

« Great location, friendly staff »

Booked last minute and had a very warm welcome at reception and were treated very well by all staff in general throughout. Parking is provided, although the lane way is very tight but managed to get the car in safe and sound, the room we got was big and spacious and was ideal for our short term stay, it's good value in terms of Killarney and it's great you can just walk home when out in the town. It's not the Ritz but it gets the job done and allows for a good base to see all around the area ideal for a couple of nights.

    4
« Home from Home in Killarney »

Right in the middle of town, Tesco next door and easy walk to the Park. A real Irish bar BUT! pay cash. 15 euro minimum charge for card payments. My room on third floor was comfortable and quiet and the food was great. Great staff . my usual gripe with European hotels.. no ice machine.

    5
« Hospitality at Its Best »

The staff was incredible. Everyone went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfection. From Maura at the front desk to Quintas in the dining room we were treated like royalty! Chris Muciek was also a delight to chat with all things Irish. Highly recommend this hotel which is located right in the heart of downtown Killarney. Lots of shopping within walking distance.

    5
    « A Lovely Welcome »

Stayed for a couple of nights midweek with family, 3 double rooms booked. Reception staff were excellent especially Maura. Hotel room was a good size and very clean, the jacuzzi bath was a nice surprise.Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. My only criticism would be the lack of air conditioning in the rooms, other than that a wonderful stay. Thoroughly recommend.

  • 3
    « Good location »

Thanks to the ever so friendly and helpful Maura at reception, our welcome was a nice one. The bar staff on the contrary were unfriendly and inattentive and we had a hard time attracting their attention. We witnessed bar staff serving a guest a lesser priced whiskey but charging the price of the higher quality. The bar was dirty and overall tired. Room was ok and clean. At breakfast we ran into huge crowds of noisy, elderly American tourist so we decided against spending EUR 10 for breakfast at the hotel and went to a nice and quiet coffee shop down the street. The area around the hotel was dirty and littered with the remnants of Friday night's partying - not a nice sight in early morning light.

    5
« Traditional Irish music in hotel »

Nice hotel, excellent location, parking nearby, and traditional Irish music in the bar downstairs. The hotel accommodations were excellent and the front desk more than helpful. The location is right in the middle of a lovely and most interesting small town by a beautiful natural park.

    4
« Good Stay, Convenient Location »

This was a perfectly adequate stay with a clean room, free car parking and good, free WiFi. The location was excellent, being right in town. The breakfast was good. Although the room was fairly plain it was clean and comfortable.

    « Killarney Races »

Booked into this lovely hotel, staff were extremely nice & friendly, room was excellent, lovely & comfortable, this hotel is very central and very close to all shops, pubs and restaurants. The staff were very helpful to us and looked after our luggage until we were ready to travel home

« Good food and staff »

Was on holiday recently in Killarney and we came across the Danny Mann greeted by a lovely waitress called Marie, she was so helpful and very efficient with specific dietary requirements I had she was able to take the time and explain what I could eat, she was very patient and obliging the food overall was lovely and the music was great it's located in the heart of Killarney which is good too

    4
    « Don't go by first appearances »

It is a nice hotel when you get inside. It's in the very centre of town so not far to walk for anything. Our room was spacious and very clean. the staff were helpful and friendly. Our meals were good and as they were served early it did give us time to go out for a walk around. We came back in and went to 'Danny Man Bar' and enjoyed the Irish music. The second night we were there was 4th July and so we were able to go out and watch the parade. The fireworks did not start until after mid night by which time we were asleep

    3
« A good central location but no parking. »

The hotel is right in the town centre and convenient for all the shops and bars. However there is no parking and one has to use public car parks as there is no on road parking, We were there at a busy time and there was a long queue to check in. The rooms were clean and comfortable but can be a bit noisy as they are above the bars, Did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food.

« Awesome time with Gary! »

Our bartender Gary was wonderful! He was attentive, kind, and gave us great conversation. I wish all bartenders in Ireland treated us with such service! We were told about the sites and how to go about scheduling day trips. We will definitely be here tomorrow form sure!

    « Great Location - Fantastic Staff!! »

If you are looking for a nice clean hotel in the middle of town and walking distance to lots of activities then you will be quite happy with this hotel. I've stayed in hotel rooms that were better and worse but our room was clean and comfortable - exactly what we required. The secret quality of this hotel is the staff - and the reception desk individual in particular. She was extremely friendly and helpful, even before we arrived! I had trouble finding the parking, so I called and she stayed on the phone, providing turn by turn navigation to the garage entrance. We had not made many plans for activities prior to arriving (were were sort of "winging" it). She asked what we were interested in doing or seeing and got on the phone to book a tour for us. She also called to get a dinner reservation since we arrived late and many of the restaurants were close to closing. During our stay, she greeted us by name every time she saw us and offered to help with any questions or if we required any recommendations.

« If you're looking for a hostel, this is it »

Stayed at this hotel for two nights. True it is in the middle of Killarney, right in the heart of the shops but that is about all. our room was tiny and dreary with no safe or iron, actually the room next door was used as an office for an outside company. The food was pretty poor to. The bar was dark and dreary and we were glad to leave. Think I'd give this one a miss.

« Fine Central Hotel but poor breakfast »

Friendly and helpful reception staff, public parking vary close by and a very modern and large room - albeit a long distance from the lift. We ate in the hotel and the food was of a good standard. This was followed by an evening of live Irish music. The only disappointment was the breakfast (10 Euros each) which was very poor both in quality and choice.

    « Great location »

The Best Western Killarney was a great place to stay. It is located in the middle of town with lots of pubs, restaurants, and shops close by. The hotel is connected to Danny Man's Pub, which was a really cool place. The receptionist was very friendly at check in. Parking was an adventure. The small parking lot, connected to the hotel, was located down a small alleyway on another street. Only small cars, like the one we were in, would fit down the alley. We had to turn our mirrors in. The parking was free. The room was clean and modern. The in room Internet service worked great. They did have breakfast but it was not included which was a disappointment. The lady a checkout was very friendly. I would stay here again.

« Nice hotel and famous bar, could do better »

The first thing I noticed about this hotel is that it is a nightmare for coach drop-offs. We had to keep driving around until there was a space outside the hotel. This is a nice hotel with large rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was immaculately clean. The bathroom was also large and spotless. The food was okay in the hotel, but looked much better in the adjoining bar called The Danny Mann. The drinks were very expensive in the bar. In the early evening there was only one person serving. The bar was very large and the bar man worked really hard to avoid keeping people waiting. He did a grand job! Although my bed was very comfortable, I was kept awake by the noise from the bar which went on until quite late. Breakfast offered a limited choice and was a little disappointing. Despite the friendly, helpful hardworking staff, large clean comfortable room, I am not so sure I would recommend this hotel bearing in mind the access, expensive bar prices, the simple breakfast and noisy room.

« Ring of Kerry Cycle »

Arrived in Killarney for the Ring of Kerry Cycle at the start of registration. The town was much busier than usual and parking very restricted. Having said that once a parking space was found it was easy to transfer bikes and bags to the hotel. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. They were well set up to receive cyclists. Our room on the 3rd floor was great. Really spacious and clean. We were overlooking a 'courtyard" which had all the heating or aircon unit so there was a constant hum from these. This did not bother us and quite quickly go used to it. Breakfast was very good, self-service continental and cooked. This suited us as we didn't really have the time to be waited on. The bar area was very friendly with good evening entertainment. Our wifi signal was perfect.

« The warmest of welcomes in a hotel full of characters, excellent location »

We'd arrived to join in the Ring of Kerry Cycle, on a weekend that combined the cycle, a football match then the Independence day parade. The whole town was heaving with people. This wasn't my first hotel of choice, I'd tried somewhere that looked a lot swankier, but (thankfully now,) they were full. If you want a swanky hotel with bland, stiff service - don't stay here. But if you want warmth, smiles, fun, central, clean and modern -this is the place. This didn't stop Maura and the reception team from giving us a warm greeting, while juggling the phones and other departing, arriving, questioning guests. They sorted out our parking problem and despite our room taking a little longer then planned to be ready, every time we spoke they remembered our first names.... They kept going at this pace from the moment we arrived until we left, incredible! Our room was modern, well presented and the bathroom clean. The location is superb, it's easy to find and a great base, we walked across the road into the national park, did shopping and joined friends for a few drinks with ease. Don't forget to savour the Danny Mann bar, again more friendly staff, the lovely (Polish - I think), chap came over to apologise about the noise from the disco next door as they were hosting a late afternoon teen disco. As the place filled up, again these staff literally ran around to ensure that drinks were served and people attended. After the bike ride, tired and sore we spent the evening in the bar listening to the Molly Maguires, a fantastic Irish band. Yes it probably was a bit twee aimed at the tourists, (earlier the place was full of Japanese and Americans), but there was a fair mix of Irish, locals too, English and others singing and clapping along that night. We had the craic! We didn't eat but the food was flowing swiftly - I can't vouch for the quality but it looked hot and decent enough. and i was tempted but too tired to eat. This is a slick operation, the staff work efficiently & tirelessly yet remain cheerful and in great humour, it is hotel restaurant, bar and disco all under one roof, a job well done!

« Good location; but got rooms with poor access »

We picked this hotel due its proximity to the Killarney railway station and this was the cheapest 3 or 4 star we could find in the vicinity. Yet, with all our luggage, we had to a take a 10 Euro cab. The location is great; bang in the middle of all the action in Killarney. The hotel itself has a very lively pub with live Irish music (Loved it). The one problem we had, (and quite telling it was) was the location of our rooms. It was at the farthest corner of the hotel. We had to take the lift, go up 4 steps, walk a bit, up 4 more, down 4 steps, walk again, down 4 more... (and yes we lost track). And all this, while lugging heavy suitcases. It was very inconvenient, to say the least. A couple of other American tourists who arrived just then had the same thing to say, but in more colourful terminology. At last we found out that the lift to the car park was only a few feet away from our room and thankfully, we could take it while checking out. I still think, the hotel staff, who knew how much stuff we had could have warned us or told us about the lift. But, to their defence, there was an army of bikers who had just descended upon the town and probably were staying in the hotel. The rooms had a surprisingly decent amount of space for a hotel in the middle of town; came equipped with a Jacuzzi bath tub.

    « Great location »

Lovely hotel in a great location for sightseeing around Kerry and Killarney itself, excellent modern rooms and great breakfast, great live music in the bar attached to the hotel, only small criticism is the parking which is limited unless you use a nearby public car park but this is nit a problem.

    2
« Great location but poor service »

If you want a hotel right in the middle of the action of Killarney, with a good pub/restaurant for drinking/eating, then this hotel would seem a good choice. Or so we thought. But numerous issues made us wish we had picked another site. First the car park is unmarked and very inaccessible if you have a larger rental car. It is also locked overnight so forget about leaving early. Wi-Fi in our rooms did not work as the router is located in the front of the hotel, behind multiple fire doors. Staff kept saying they would have someone "look at it" but it didn't work for our two days there. Staff was nice but flaky -- insisting we had to pay for breakfast despite showing a printed reservation that showed "breakfast included". Check-out required tracking someone down in the pub.

    « Holiday »

Although it was through a coach trip, I would recommend this hotel to any one visiting kilarney. The staff were polite and hotel was clean, rooms spacious. The evening meal was set, but you still had a choice and was well presented. Breakfast was buffet style, so there was something for every taste.

« Nicest Hotelier during our entire trip to Ireland! »

We rang the hotel before arriving to check on parking, Maura Lee is probably one of the most friendly people we met during our entire stay in Ireland! There are a few other hoteliers who I would recommend going to the Maura Lee school of charm!! She was without doubt the best asset of the hotel. The hotel was immaculately clean and everyone was very friendly and professional. I enjoyed mussels in the restaurant, possibly the best I've ever had - some nice brown bread to soak up the gorgeous juice would have been even better. The evening entertainment was also very good, we didn't get a seat near the front at first, but as the restaurant thinned out, we got a birds eye view which wound up the evening a treat - I would have liked it to go on longer even though they played for a good couple of hours, very enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel and Killarney to anyone wanting an enjoyable time in Ireland. Of all the hotels we stayed in (and there were many)!, this comes out as the best by far.

    « Good Location »

Great location for exploring Killarney, Room was clean but the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything in next room. Friendly receptionist to greet us when we arrived. But the pints in the bar tasted awful and it got quite rowdy at night. Hotel was good but the bar was a let down

    4
« Great location and very helpful staff »

The location was great - right in the middle of everything and right off the ring of kerry! The car park was full, so we had to park in a nearby one for a cost, but it was free for the weekend, so we only had to pay a few euro. The service was great - reception was very helpful. The pub is rowdy, but we could not hear it from our room in the back. Would recommend!

« Central Location, Fun Pub »

We stayed here as part of a last minute booking with Irish Rail Tourism. We usually go it alone but was pleasantly surprised with the location and hotel. For some reason we were upgraded to a large yet dark room. 2 queen beds, sitting area, full bath and new TV, room clean and a beautiful breakfast buffet and eggs cooked to order included. Close to so many restaurants, pubs and shops. There is a horse and buggy stop in front of hotel. Our small bus (12-16 people) for touring was just down the street. No complaints.

    2
« Conventient location... but that's about it »

We did not book in advance and the BW hotel was the only one we found with a last minute cancellation... the room was small, bed was uncomfortable (time for a new mattress!) and the window looked out... right into another window about a foot away. The hallways smelled a bit strange and the lobby like cigarette smoke (from people smoking right outside the doorway). For this we paid about twice the amount of other hotels and/or B&Bs throughout our trip. The location was central, however, if you wish to be in the middle of Killarney.

    3
« Centrally located in Killarney »

The hotel is right in the thick of things in Killarney, which makes it convenient, however, this is a hotel where tour buses stay and that is not my kind of thing, especially when the hotel lobby area is small--it was very congested at times Our family (My husband and I and our two sons who are 17 and 20) stayed here for two nights. The rooms were clean but very basic. We were on the third floor and it was quite a walk down a hallway or "maze" to get to our rooms. We are physically fit so this isn't an issue for us but for those who are not able bodied, it would be very challenging. The hallways were very stuffy and hot but it was unseasonably warm when we were there. The hallways could use a fresh of paint and carpet--they smelled a bit like food or cooking from the restaurant.

« Great location and value. »

Stayed here on a Sunday in June. The hotel was lovely and all staff were very professional. Would recommend for anyone looking for great value accommodation in the centre of Killarney. The bed was a standard double, which was on the hard side of firm and the room was very warm but we would definitely return.

« The second time we have stayed at this hotel »

This was the second time in two years that we have stayed at this hotel. It is centrally located in the city which makes it a great place to stay. The food is great. The entertainment at Danny Mann's is tops. This is a great location if you want to do the Ring of Kerry.

    3
« Hotel in Citi Center »

This hotel, located in the hub of the city, has small rooms, a lively pub with traditional music, and it is centrally located. Good spot for a short stay, but cramped quarters for anything more than 1 or 2 nights. Good & strong shower and a breakfast buffet that was surprisingly good. The hotel is within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants which is a big plus. The crowning glory for us was Maura at the front desk. She is a gem! So friendly and helpful, she really personalized our stay. The Danny Mann Pub located in the hotel has live music nightly and is a fun place. Get there ahead of show time for a seat! The car park is unusually small and entry to it is a harrowing alley that is no wider than the car! Watch out!!!

« Parking is a nightmare, but hotel is worth it »

We recently stayed at the Best Western in Killarney and unfortunately for us, arrived at 4-ish in the afternoon and discovered the hotel is located on one of the busiest streets in Killarney, with no parking available to customers. However, the hotel staff was very helpful in pointing out lots around the area were we could park, and even pointed us in the direction of a lot about a block away, behind the hotel, that would be open and, because it was a bank holiday, free for us to stay for the three days we were there. The hotel itself is nice, and we found it to be very quiet in the room we were in. There is a large restaurant in the bottom worth dining at, and as I mentioned, it's centrally located to everything going on in downtown Killarney. Better yet, it's roughly 6 blocks away from the beautiful Killarney National Park, which is absolutely breathtaking. We loved our stay, and would definitely visit again.

    « Good Location »

Good Location, nice room very clean but couldn't open the window much for fresh air as it was roasting! Staff were helpful. Just a downer on the free carpark thats advertised which is tiny so we had to pay for parking elsewhere.

    « St Bride's Parish Holiday Group »

We stayed at this hotel for four nights. It is very conveniently situated in the heart of Killarney, and close to shops, bars etc. Staff are very helpful and they will go out of their way to ensure that the guests enjoy their stay. Food is delicious, especially the veggie option. As we came by coach, there was no necessity to use car parking facilities. My room was at the back of the hotel, and music can be heard from the bar downstairs, but I did not mind this as Irish music is enjoyable. Music stopped at 11.00pm, so did not disturb sleep.

    3
    « Comfortable, friendly hotel. »

We recently stayed here while on a coach tour of the area. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the first floor and was comfortable and clean. We had requested a twin room and had one double and one single bed in the room. The food was good and the hotel ideally situated in the town. We liked the Danny Mann lounge in the hotel where there was live Irish music every evening but some of our party who were at the front of the hotel, over the bar, said that it was noisy at night. The weather was good during our visit and our room was very hot, there was no air conditioning in the room.

    5
« Good little hotel for the night. »

Centrally located, close to lots of bars and restaurants plus overnight parking is available for free nearby in the supermarket parking lot. I have forgotten her name but the woman who checked us in was exceptionally helpful and really made the stay special for us.

    « Fawlty Towers »

Recently we stayed at this hotel because it's located in central Killarney and close to the ring of Kerry. The front staff and management are very nice and friendly especially Jackie, but the place could use some updates. What we encountered was almost comical and out of a John Cleese comedy. First of all, some of the doors marked "toilets" in the attached pub, we were told by our server, are for decoration only and don't go anywhere. There is another set of toilets on the other side but why not have them both functional?! Or simply put a sign up. When we ordered dinner, not only did my veggie burger come plain, but any sides I inquired about came with it in addition to the one I wanted; then I had to find the manager after to get a refund as the server wouldn't take it them off our bill. Later that evening, we ordered nachos from the pub that got excellent reviews and were amazed to get a bag of doritos smothered with half melted cheese and large pieces of raw onion. Granted this is Ireland, not Mexico, but I've never seen dorito-like artificially flavored chips served at a restaraunt and called Nachos; it was like trailer park food! We've had nachos at other places in Ireland and they used proper corn chips! We left the hotel to find some other late night grub and the girl that served us even thought that was weird and has never been served nachos like that in Ireland. We were told by the front desk that the chef is highly acclaimed and assured us he knows what he is doing. The manager also told us that the nachos in all of Ireland are made like that. But last time I checked there is no skill required to make a decent plate of nachos. The ones I can make at home are sensational in comparison and are no where near the cost of 14.95€. Nachos cost literally 5$ to make. At breakfast the staff was nice, but it was like playing musical chairs. We were told to sit wherever we wanted by the manager at the front, then some lady took our coffee and asked us if we were a "dutch group, when we said "no," then told to sit somewhere else. No one ever arrived at our previous table the entire 20 mins we were there. The complimentary breakfast isn't ideal for vegetarians as well as there being no pastries which surprised us. At check in we were told that they did have pastries and the manager this morning said it's only for groups that special request them. We went down the street to the coffee shop to get some instead. Every hotel breakfast we have had in Europe has has croissants and pastries up until now. Your fruit options are canned mandarin or grapefruit. There is the option of rice crispies or cornflakes and overcooked fried eggs with toast, but otherwise, nothing special, just mediocre at best. By the way, the parking entrance for this place is so small and akward to get into, most cars won't fit through it, including ours. The car rental place gave us a BMW and we couldn't even make the corner to get into the tiny little alley way that leads to the parking. When we mentioned this to the desk the girl there said their manager drives a BMW and never has an issue. The last thing we want to do is turn in the rental car with large scraps down the sides and no sideview mirrors. The down side is that we have to pay per hour of parking down the block in a big open lot by the tourism center. We also have a lamp in the room not working becuase the previous guest took the lightbulb apparently. Housekeepers don't check this while they clean the rooms??? The toilet as well didnt work until the maintenance guy came up to our room and it miraculously flushed normal. That night it went back to not flushing and just filling with water. The next morning to no surprise we were one of 3 rooms complaining to the desk at that time. We couldn't hear what the guy ahead of us was saying but when the girl at the desk said "thank you, hope to see you again!" His reply was "No, you won't!" And smiled as he gave back his keys. Overall, not bad of you're staying just for one night, but could be better if they addressed these issues and bring the quality up to standard with what you would expect from a huge international hotel chain, the Best Western. Even the manager himself said he knows there are things that need to be improved on.

    « Great service »

Good Hotel with great service and location. Nice food and Zygi looked after us exceptionally in the bar ! Only downfall is hotel car parking, limited bays and very narrow alley way to the parking entry.

    « Lovely stay »

The location of this hotel was absolutely perfect. This was the reason I booked it & we were not disappointed. It was right in the middle of the town close to all amenities. The bedroom was lovely & modern. The only downside is that it was quite a trek from reception.. Especially with luggage! The privacy curtain kept falling down which judging by the paint gone off the wall has happened before. But other than this it a was very nice stay. Would definitely return here again!

    3
    « Average »

Stayed only 1 night at the hotel. I can say that it is average, okay-ish for the price you pay. Staff is friendly and helpful; and the location is great as well. Hotel has a private parking which is again really good. On the other hand, the check in time is 3 pm, which we found a bit late but still ok. We only didn't like the cleaning of the room as there were hairs in the bathroom floor when we got in the room. Also, the dirty sock on the fire alarm welcomed us as we entered the room which was not really a nice impression.

    « ideal location »

We stayed here with Grand UK last week for 4 nights. The location is perfect right in the centre of Killarney. We had read reviews before we came so I requested a quiet room at the back and that is what we were given. It was perfect .ROOM 326, no noise at all. on the plus side two double beds so we could really spread out. The food was excellent and the room very clean we enjoyed this hotel and would recommend it.

« Nice location, but extremely noisey. You won't sleep. »

We arrived in Killarney and made our way to Eviston House to find that it is near impossible to park anywhere near the hotel for a quick check in without double parking. I enjoyed the location of the hotel as it is a half block from the main drag and you can go find great food and drink on a very short walk. The hotel went south when it came time to sleep. We were located on the third floor and from 12 midnight until 530am, people came every half hour to their rooms drunk as skunks shouting and banging on the walks as they stumbled to their rooms. Eventually, one group stood in the hallway and talked for nearly thirty minutes EXTREMELY loudly and EXTREMELY drunk. The hotel did nothing to try to quiet them down and we were left feeling a little fatigued the next morning. There are some pros to this hotel, and there are some cons. I think if the hotel were stronger in preventing the noise and quieting people down when they get too rambunctious, this could be a great place.

« Absolutely loved Eviston House in Killarney! »

The building itself was quaint and fanciful; exactly met our expectations. Next door is Danny Mann's Lounge, where we (twice!) enjoyed lively Irish music and plenty pints of Guinness! LOVED every second of our visit. I very much look forward to returning.

Excellent service as usual. I have stayed here approx 6 times and always pleased with levels of room tidiness, quality of food, efficiency and politeness of staff. Very central to the town and its amenities. Free parking around the corner from 7pm until 8.30am.

    « Disappointing!! »

Myself and 8 friends travelled down here for a hen party on the 7th of May. After months of prep and dealings with the reservations staff I was delighted to be staying here. We arrived down and went to check in. We weren't acknowledged with a hello, how are Ye nothing!! I checked in and handed over €580.50 for 3 bedrooms. We were asked for id I said for what and was told it was needed in case we smoked in the rooms. Bearing in mind none of us in the group smoke!!! We were handed the room keys and that was it! No enjoy your stay or anything. I was actually quite appalled with the check in. I work in a hotel myself and I know that type of a reception to guests certainly would not be tolerated. So anyway we went to our rooms and I went into the bathroom to wash my hands.. Not as much as a hand towel in the bathrooms!!! I went to the girls in the other 2 rooms just in case it was a genuine error and no towels in their rooms either. I had to contact reception for a hand towel for each room!! Also in room 234 there was a dirty sock covering the smoke alarm in the bedroom, obviously there quite a long time looking at the dust that's on it. We were booked in for pre-ordered finger food for 6:30pm we arrived and they weren't expecting us at all. They put us in a corner way out of the way, and 2 people actually had to move so we could sit together! It kind of annoyed me as we had planned this for so long and were really looking forward to it.

« In the heart of the city »

The room was nice and fairly clean. The only problem was we had to walk through the bar, a closed nightclub, and the car park to get to the elevator to take us to our room. The music at the bar the night before we really good, and they offered a breakfast but we skipped it.

    « Loved this hotel! »

We stayed at the Eviction House for two nights. It was the perfect location. You are right in downtown. The hotel is clean and the rooms were very nice. The staff was helpful. The hotel had a small area for parking that was free. The internet worked all throughout the hotel. There are shops and restaurants right out the hotel door. We would stay there again.

Hotel was confusing for getting to your room. Many corridors and left and right turns until you reached your room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel had been added on to and therefore hard to find the rooms. Older hotel however it was clean. Only stayed one night so I am sure we would have found the best route to our room if the stay was longer.

« Getting dated but quaint »

I know you cant have new, modern with character, so this hotel has good mix of been slightly aged but having a character and quaint at the same time. Check in staff friendly and helpful. Room was large and had everything. Breakfast a little disappointing, self serve and all hot food therefore reheated, a personal served touch would help. Very central location, get a room at back to sleep well

Was working in the Killarney area & was due to head home but ended up staying. Booked this hotel late & had no problem getting a room. It's very well located & I was greeted by a lovely lady at reception! My room was spacious & clean. I couldn't fault this hotel in anyway except for the parking which was around the block down a narrow alleyway...I was lucky enough to get parking on the street outside... Killarney is fabulous & would recommend this hotel for location & for value..I'll be back.

    « eviston hotel »

Visited the Best Western Eviston in Killarney with family last week. Almost all of the staff were very cheery and helpful, especially dining room and reception. Bar staff mostly good, apart from first night when two young lads were on and only seemed interested in chatting up a group of young girls, which is to be expected, but they should still serve other customers promptly. One man complained to one of the young boys, who said he would be back in a minute, then disappeared round the other side of the bar and never served the man. He went somewhere else, but added he would be complaining to the manager in the morning. The two lads were not on for the rest of the week,so manager acted quickly. Food was very good, especially breakfast, eggs were proper tasting, not like usual rubbery congealed eggs most places seem to serve up.

« Nice Hotel daredevil parking »

Stayed for one night with my wife, staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and well maintained. The location could not be better, the only criticism I have is the entrance to the car park is so narrow it should not be tackled by the faint hearted but overall a great stay good breakfest and very good value for money.

« Nice staff, ok room....horrible parking situation!! »

The staff was friendly and the location good, but the parking lot was tricky to say the least...I might go back, but I would find other parking. The rooms were ok...they were not wonderful but as to be expected for the rate charged.

« Nice stay but needs improvement in areas »

Overall, we enjoyed our stay! The hotel is in an ideal location, right in the middle of town so everything is on your doorstep. The parking is a bit of a disaster. You have to go down a very narrow lane-way and spaces are minimal. We were lucky to get one. There is a car park near the hotel and it is free after 5pm, this is the easiest choice! We were welcomed by a nice receptionist and we had a nice chat with her. The room was lovely and spacious. The only thing lacking was shower gel? Bars of soap were provided but no shower gel which seemed like a basic one for a hotel room. However the room was nice, and we slept very well. We had a room at the back so there was minimal noise. The tv in the room was not great, bad reception but we had a laptop so that remedied that issue. We didn't eat in the hotel but the bar was lively with good musicians playing traditional tunes. One little thing, we rang down and requested water for our room but the receptionist basically told us they were too busy. However, they did extend our check out time to 12.30 as we were running late so that should be noted. A nice stay overall with just a few small notes!

    « Won't stay agsin »

Stayed there at the weekend for 1 night. Did not get to sleep until 6.30am because of the noise of music being played very loudly from a room a few doors down, people roaring and shouting up and down the corridors, noise coming from the residents bar. Also anytime anyone flushed the toilet you could here the noise coming from the tank refilling. Would not recommend this place again nor would I stay here again. Overpriced

    « Very relaxing »

The hotel is comfortable and the food excellent. It is on the main street but you wouldn't have known. Very local for all the sights. I would stay here again. The Danny Mann Bar next door is also excellent. There is a lift for those who need it.

    « I'll be back!!! »

Highly recommend this hotel to all who wish to visit Killarney. Located smack bang in the middle of the town with all the main attractions close by whether your looking for a social or recreational outing. Staff were extremely helpful at check in and check out

    « Ho hum »

We stayed in this central location because we wanted to eat out without having to drive, and the hotel did tick that box, there was a nice Italian bistro just 5 minutes around the corner. Other than that, it was a forgettable hotel, bit dim, dated décor, the most expensive on our tour of south-west Ireland but the least charming....however, Killarney is a tourism goldmine not necessarily reputed for charm. The staff were friendly, the rooms were comfortable albeit forgettable, parking was available in the nearby supermarket carpark, breakfast was ok. But Evistons really is not top of the list of where you'd want to stay in Kerry, and we left with the suspicion that even in Killarney nicer, brighter, more appealing accommodation must be available. Ok for a night or two but wouldn't recommend for longer...especially not at 100 euro a night, we had much better value elsewhere in Kerry, and in other scenic counties too.

« Very nice place for location, value and service »

It was a very nice hotel tucked in amongst the street shops on New St. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and the rooms are bright and a good size. Our room didn't have a bar fridge though.

    « Nice upgrade »

This is a lovely hotel right in the middle of town. Friendly receptionist and a very nice room, quite a walk though! Didn't eat and breakfast not included so can't comment on food but here's a tip! We were upgraded because we booked direct rather than through an agent. While there is a car park it's tricky to get in, ask at reception for directions

    « Wonderful Trip »

My Mum and I have Just returned a couple of days ago from Shearings holidays coach tour to Killarney. Arrived 10.30 at night to a warm welcome. The staff were pleasant and helpful our cases arrived quickly and we even got drinks in the bar. Our bathroom light was not working. We reported it and within 10 mins it was fixed the porterage staff came to find us to let us know. The breakfast was lovely, the eggs poached perfect and the sausages really nice. The waiter and waitresses were very pleasant. Our room was spacious on the front and lovely and warm, so nice to have a warm room. The hotel is in a good location, 10 mins from National Park. The evening meals were very good too, very enjoyable was the themed night in the Danny Man pub. The two gentlemen who entertained us with Irish singing and music were fabulous. We had a free Irish coffee which was lovely, also two drinks free a night, if you wanted them. We also had a lovely hot punch with our first evening meal and the scone and tea on our last afternoon, which was a nice chance to chat with our other passengers. The scone was beautiful, please pass this on to the chef, if they are home made, you have a excellant chef. Our tour driver Bob very good and very pleasant. The trips to Ring of Kerry and the Jaunting cart in the park was excellant. The whole trip was brilliant and the hotel with its good food, lovely staff and warm good standard bedroom with all you needed made the whole trip a wonderful experience. Would definently recommend this hotel. Many thanks to you all for a wonderful stay in Killarney, having been to Ireland twice now, love it and hope to return again soon.

    « Pretty good but... »

We decided to present ourselves directly to the hotel instead of using Booking. We wanted to be as fair as possible with the Hotel. Win / Win. Give me your best price and I won't use Booking. The price was very good and the welcome really warm. The Hotel is a great luxury hotel and the room was beautifull and charming. We decided to eat at the pub, earing from irish songs more / less well interpreted by local singer alone with guitar... Not the best thing I ever heard, but, the context was there :) All team was really nice and carefull. The waiter played and drawed with our 8 years old daughter. The food was good. At the end, all should have been perfect if the room were not located just near the elevator machinery. As a result, all night earing the sound of engine. Hard to have a good sleep. So, My recommandation, try to avoid room 305 and you'll be enchanted. The hotel provided shave which I needed and helped us finding a doctor to our grand daughter who was ill.

« Pleasant hotel with nioce staff »

Very convenient hotel to stay in, being centrally located. Parking is not easy as entry to park is very tight and you need to aware of the narrowness, when in fact you can get an available space. We stayed on third floor which was very quiet, except for an obnoxious couple next door , who, when I reported their behaviour to the front desk, the manager immediately addressed the problem and evicted them.. Food in the bar was good quality but rather expensive compared to Tralee. Decor is outdated and needs addressing. Floor boards are rather loose on 3rd floor and noisy as fellows guests pass the corridors. Staff are extremely friendly and multinational. When I left, I went to Tralee and the hotel quality for the same price was exceptional. If I was back in Killarney , I would consider Eviston among others to stay at. No difficulty with area and room heating as it was perfect.

« Nice hotel in the center of town »

Very nice hotel in the heart of Killarney. Excellent clean, very comfortable beds, helpfull staff, good value. Unfortunately hotel hasn`t own parking, so sometimes could be big problem in the center of town.

    « Cold and Noisy »

Stayed here for a night in January due to work. First problem was going to the carpark where my car couldn't fit down the entrance (literally 3 inch between wall and wing mirrors) so had to pay for parking. Very old fashioned hotel, could hear people walking out on corridor and talking in next room. Room was cold but the night porter did bring up a plug in heater, however I think it was first night it was open after winter so may have been why it was cold. Breakfast was nice in morning and staff were friendly.

    « Excellent Hotel »

On arrival staff were very welcoming, the rooms were lovely and warm ,very comfortable and very clean. The food was excellent in the bar downstairs and the breakfast was very nice also! Hotel is central to everything, literally all the shops, sights, bars and restraunts on your doorstep and the main thing is when you go to sleep you can't hear a sound! Will definitely be staying here again :)

    « Superb »

Staff could not be more friendly, excellent service, lovely bar. Spotless clean Stayed here a few times and it's the only place I would stay. Very central location, everything on ur door step. 2 Thumbs up

    « Wouldn't stay again!! »

The hotel is in a great location and has nice modern decor. But that's about it! The room was absolutely freezing, when I asked at reception for a heater (like in said in the guest information book supplied), they had none and the manager said he would be up in a minute.. no show!! Froze for the night! Very loud disturbances also , drunken teenagers loitering around the lobby, shouting and fighting Room was very small, probably the worst located room in the hotel! Maybe could have gotten over these things if we could be in our room without jackets and scarves on! Not happy with this stay and will not be returning! Wouldn't recommend.

    « Fabulous experience »

Can't fault this hotel ,Marie Nolan the receptionist loves her job she was a pleasure she was so helpful and couldn't help us enough. The room was amazing I went for a night out with my niece and we can't wait to stay there again the location is ideal the staff are So helpful but Marie is an asset ,people are quick enough to give bad reviews but this girl went out of her way to make us so welcome

    « Romantic nite away »

Booked in here 4 a nite away hotel and staff r lovely. But there was a load of hen and stags on and we got no sleep as the running up and down the corridors, banging on doors and shouting was just 2 much. We will not b staying here again. All we wanted was a quiet night away

    « Great break »

Really nice hotel with great staff. Had 3 lovely days between Christmas and the new year and we had a great time. The food was very good. The room was very comfortable and the hotel is right in the center of town. Would recommend this hotel.

« Amazing staff and Amazing location! »

I have stayed in The Best Western Eviston 3 times and every time it's been fantastic. In October 2015 I spent 2 nights there. When we arrived the staff were so welcoming and so nice. Our room had a jaquzzi/bath which was great! The room was lovely as always and the staff are always on hand to help in any way they can. We parked for free in the hotels car park, which was so handy. The location is the best you'll find in Killarney. It's amazingly close to the shops, restaurants, nightlife and the local park. I can't recommend the hotel highly enough.

« Ok hotel, nice location »

hotel rooms were ok .. Clean. Could use a renovation. Hotel was busy and active. Did not eat here but restaurant and bar was consistently busy. Hotel had great location in the middle of everything. Also was easy walk to the park. Adjacent to grocery store and one of the few self laundry places in Ireland.

« Nice Town Centre Hotel »

In Killarney for a wedding - two night stay. Nice hotel. Clean rooms. Great bar (The Danny Man) and wonderful breakfast. We stayed in November and the tiny car park 917 spaces) was full on two occasions). There is a nearby public pay car park though. When we stayed the WiFi showed as connected on the devices, but there was no Internet most of the time. Luckily 4G was available, so just tethered the phone.

« Basic hotel in a great spot »

My boyfriend and I recently stayed here with a group of his friends the night before a wedding. The location was fantastic - in the center of all the pubs, shops and restaurants. The residents bar was great for our group and the food was also very good. The room was comfortable, my only suggestion would be to include lotion in the bathroom..I forgot mine and would have loved if there was some in the room as I was short on time the morning of the wedding. Overall, great hotel especially for the price. Would definitely recommend.

« Superb hotel highly recomended »

We found our two night stay here just top class.Upon arrival we were greeted by a very professional front desk who gave us a free upgrade to delux suite unaware it was our wedding anniversary ! Room superb and spotless.Bar waiting staff also top class music all weekend best hotel for value in Killarney.Only one issue is car park to small alley way and not enough places we had to leave car in it all weekend in case we had none if we left.

    « Very Central Hotel »

I really enjoyed my stay in Eviston House Hotel. It is very central, the rooms are spacious and have everything you need, including tea and coffee making facilities, iron, hairdryer, large flat-screen tv. The beds are very comfortable and there was little or no noise, although not exactly a nice view from our bedroom window - but I wasn't there to look out the window. Breakfast was lovely and piping hot and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The bar is very large, but quite dark and there is live traditional music on most nights, with good audience participation. The hotel is no more than five minutes walk from everything - eg railway station, tour office, church, shops, restaurants, bars etc. The whole hotel looks like it has recently been re-decorated, but overall a bit old fashioned but nice.

« Stayed here on a coach trip with Shearings Holidays »

Our room was at the back of the Hotel lovely & quiet (trip advisor told us to ask for a room at the back because the front ones can be noisy with the traffic) The food was great full English breakfast serve yourself everything was lovely & hot & staff were very attentive. Evening Meal lovely plenty to choose from They have their own Pub Danny Mann's the Bar area is lovely the entertainment was great especially the night "Scottie" was singing & really friendly with all the customers a great night

    « Great location, clean »

I read mixed reviews about this hotel, but I thought it was awesome! I emailed ahead of time to try to find out about parking and they promptly responded letting me know to come check in and that they would tell me where to park. When I arrived, there was a place to park temporarily on the street so I took it and brought my bags in and checked in. The lady at the front counter was very sweet and helpful and told me about a lot down the street from the hotel that has free parking. It's probably a kilometer away so I was glad they recommended checking in and dropping off my bags first. The room and adjoining bathroom were clean and comfortable, but not particularly big. The restaurant had delicious food and fun music. The staff was all very helpful and all but one were very friendly (that one may have just been having a bad day). I stayed for two nights and it was great! If you are looking for something really fancy, this may not be your place, but the Eviston House is in a great location, it's clean, comfortable, safe, has a nice staff, and is in a lovely town. Highly recommend!

« Great location and there are parking options »

Firstly agree with other reviews with friendly service, large room and excellent location. We had a great night the pub attached - it is probably a bit predictable with the Irish dishes and traditional live music but that was what we were looking for! As for the parking, we booked it with great reservations about the parking (after reading reviews) however we were pleasantly surprised that after taking a gamble and parking in the loading zone and dropping our bags off that we had the option of the teeny lane or free parking about 5 minutes walk up the road or overnight parking around the corner (free after 5 I think). We opted for down the road near the church and it was easy and stress free. Walked around for interests sake and looked at the narrow lane for the hotel parking and looked very nerve racking unless you are used to really tight parking.

« Great place to stop »

We stopped off here for one night. its a great hotel with superb friendly staff, nice rooms and is in a very central location with the added benifit of private parking. The breakfast too was fantastic and set us up for a days trip

« Central, comfortable and clean »

Located centrally in Killarney, this hotel is close to a good selection of restaurants, shops and perfect for exploring the town's tourist attractions. The room was cosy, clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The Danny Mann pub is located downstairs, offering nice meal options and a nice spot for an evening pint before bed. The few staff I met were pleasant. I've no real negative comments other than some parts of the hotel looked a little jaded but I would definitely return here if I pass through Killarney again soon.

Hotel in the town clean room food was never hot and had to wait 1/2 hour between courses Our room was at the back of the hotel every thing ok till the last night we never slept between 2am until 4am noise not acceptable was told the next morning we should have connected Security but no phone in bedroom so was not going to wander around hotel in the middle of the night it could have spoilt our lovely holiday but as we left the next day we were pleased not to have to spend another night with the noise

    « great staff »

Just returned from a two night stay. Our room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was very nice and plenty to choose from. On our arrival we where greated by the receptionist Maria. She was so nice and helpful. She assisted my mother to her room and treated her with the utmost respect. The other receptionist was also very nice. Will definately return to this hotel and would be very happy to recommend it.

    « Golf Trip »

I traveled with 12 friends and brothers who all enjoyed the experience at Best Western. Great service , Location and reasonable prices. We watched the Ireland match against Germany with Irish music in the dining area. The atmosphere was fantastic with lots of local people who only heighten the experience for all who traveled to Killarney. I have lived in Kinsale, Cork, Ireland from 2005 to 2010 relocating from America with two children and wife.My personal experiences over the last ten years has never seen such an exciting time for all. Service at the front desk was very enthusiastic with one goal to help the customer. I do have one question with regards to charges that hit my visa. Breakfast was to be included in the charge when I book the trip but was not on reservation so I was charged a few hundred euros cost that is was not in my estimate to my mates. I someone can get back to me with this please feel free to contact paddythecaddy@gmail.com Regards Paddy Spellman

« Good Hotel but not a Great Experience »

The hotel was good, clean room and great location in downtown Killarney. However, when we stayed their key system wasn't operational for most of the stay so every time we had to get in the room we needed an escort from the front desk. On occassion they had to escort multiple people and ended up forgetting about us, so after 10 minutes of waiting outside the room had to go back down to the desk to get someone else. Our room was a good 5 minute walk from the desk as well so not an insignifcant issue. Also, very limited parking so had to park in a paid lot around the corner the first night. The A/C in our room also didn't seem to work but luckily it was cool enough that keeping the window open provided decent cooling in the room. I'm giving this 3 stars based on the location on the hope that our experience was unique!

« Feeling hot, hot, hot. »

Stayed in a triple room. There was just about enough room for all of us. Could have been bigger but it was very reasonably priced. Generous with the in room tea and coffee. Good sized bathroom, however needs an extractafan. The room was so hot and you can only open the top windows, but the hotel does have a fan in the room. Everything very clean, Staff polite, only had one drink in the hotel pub which wasn't too expensive. CARPARK - very small alley is the entrance, you'll never find it without asking, not signposted, call ahead and ask for directions. - a bigger car won't fit to the car park.

    « Tourism Centre »

Great base for touring the Ring of Kerry and Dingle peninsular. Comfortable hotel in a tourist friendly centre. Downstairs bar with local music and reasonable food. The rooms are clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Interesting small car park down a very narrow alley.

« Good hotel with a few problems »

It was a nice clean room. It has stuff to make tea and instant coffee. The bathroom had a jetted tub. The staff was nice and helped me very quickly when I told them my key didn't work for my room. The only bad things I would say are the alley to the parking lot. It only fits one car and it is very small so beware. Scared the crap out of my that I might scratch the car, but it was fine every time if I just took my time. I got lost at first get to my room from the parking lot. I was told my room was next to the back door but I went into the door that send reception this way which led to the attached pub. One of the servers was kind enough to show my the right door. It had a very small sign that was hard to see. Also the hotel has so many levels just to get to my room that is at the back of the hotel. This may just be a Europe hotel thing though.

    5
    « Lovely hotel »

We stayed here for four nights as part of our Shearings holiday.can't fault it at all, room very clean and food spot on. As stated by someone reviewing the hotel service was a little slow but that didn't bother us as we had plenty of time, in fact this was a bonus as we hate to be rushed.

    3
« Great if You Like Mazes »

The room it self was okay, nothing special. Getting to the room was a feat. Up stairs/ downstairs, way I the back of the house. The easier way was through the "backroom: of Danny Manns. And I mean the "back way". Luckily, there were signs. If you forgot something in your car it was a 10 minute "hike" there and back. Pur room was way in the back of the house. It was quiet: but, a hike.
