« Great staff, good value »

We were treated very well for our entire stay, and we really enjoyed both the convenient location and the facilities. Free breakfast, nice pool and hot tub, walk to Southernmost Point and beaches, etc... would recommend, would stay again.

« Some Good Some Bad »

I recently stayed here for 6 nights. Lets start with the good. The pool area was very nice and complete with tropical foliage. Breakfast was great. It included eggs, sausage, bacon, assorted cereals, fruit and make your own waffles. The staff was always polite. You are within walking distance of busy Duval St. Now for the bad. The rooms are average and very overpriced for what you get. Beds are extremely uncomfortable and make noise every time you move. Housekeeping was lacking. I found a used plastic eating utensil behind one of the chairs. My room smelled musty. I informed the front desk of these issues. Although the floors are tiled, they appeared not to have been cleaned but only once during our stay. There is a sitting area with 2 chairs over an area rug. That rug was cleaned once during our stay. So the bottom line, would I stay here again? Probably not.

    « Great hotel - highly recommend »

The rooms, the pool area, the location, the staff, the breakfast - everything exceeded our expectations - great place to stay as close enough to walk to numerous places but far enough away from the party and noise.

    « BW Hibiscus »

Sunrise at the end of Duval, just around the corner. Visited the Butterfly museum, also just around the conrer, many good restaurants very close to this property. Rooms were very roomy. Did not use the pool, but did sit by the pool for breakfast and to read, very nice.

« Great combo of price and convience »

Great location with parking and breakfast. Easy to just leave your care there and walk to everything. Port is just a half hour walk and Duval is a block away. Drink and have fun and don't worry about parking or driving. Clean and good staff.

« Great value in a prime location »

Staff were friendly and accomadating, arrived at 1 PM and were checked in right away despite 3 PM check in. Asked us where we were parked and gave us a room as close to parking spot as physically possible. Room was fresh and very clean, nice and roomy and well appointed. We did not see 1 bug in our entire 2 night stay, room was always freshly made when we returned from our day. Hotel is a bargain being it is centrally located to Duval and Mallory Square as well plenty of quality restaurants. Bicycle rental right around the corner as well, we checked out early for an excursion but manager kindly allows us to park our car till we returned at 4PM. Nice hot breakfast and super warm outdoor pool with plenty of seating.

« Great location for Key West hotel. »

First-timers at Key West! We were happy to have chosen the Hibiscus for its quiet and clean rooms and pool. It is ideally located one block from the oceanside/southernmost point, and one block from the quiet end of Duvall Street. Our room was very large with two queens, large desk, two comfy chairs, frig & MW, vanity outside of the full bath, with an addiitonal vanity in the bath.

« Decent hotel at the quiet end of the strip. »

The hotel states they are within walking distance of Duval Street, which they are. However, they are at the far end. It's quite a long walk to Mallory Square and where much of the activity is. However, if you wish to be on the quiet end, it is nice, and it is very close to "Southernmost Point".

    5
    « key west lodging »

The room is very nice, clean and the beds are very comfortable. They allow for you to come early and just hang out until your room is ready. You can either park your car and wonder around or use the pool and relax.

    « Great value »

The rooms are big and comfortable. They are clean and quiet. The room was a great value for Key West. There was a nice pool and hot tub. The breakfast had a good variety of choices. Would stay again for sure.

    5
    « close to Duval »

lovely two floor establishment with wonderful pool, access to Duval--less than two block walk--another two to view Atlantic/Gulf...close to Southernmost Point and many good food stops, a close by stop for the trolley that tours the island, and is on local transit lines

    « another great adventure »

My Wife and I have stayed at this hotel before and feel it is a good value and close to the things we want to do, we can walk from one end of Duval street to the other, we have stayed at hotels for less money but never felt we got our moneys worth and was not happy at the end of the stay. This Hotel makes you want to come back, we were happy we stayed here and that has value.

    3
    « One night stay »

Staff was not friendly. Room was clean but overpriced for quality of room. Outside did not look nice enough to be called a best western. No designated smoking area. Breakfast should be extended given the destination.

    5
    « Location »

Free breakfast, free parking, huge rooms, and a lovely pool area added up to a great experience. There were even vegas style daybeds by the pool! 2 sinks in each room, one in the bathroom and an additional vanity area outside.Breakfast area has poolside seating which was great. Walking distance to everything. I would definitely stay here again.

    5
    « Short Stay »

Service and Room were Excellent! Evening Desk Clerk was Most Helpful!!! Convenient and easy to find. Will consider staying at the location upon return to Key West. This review is requiring too many characters to complete this review.

« Nice place to stay »

OuR first time staying here and First of all I have to say Al at the front desk was super nice and helpful. Rooms are big, clean and modern. Very nice pool area. The only bad thing ( which I hate to do but must) the eggs and sausage at breakfast are terrible ( I don't think they are real eggs or sausage). Don't eat it!!But they do have a waffle maker and beagles, toast, and cereal. Overall a awesome place to stay and will be staying there next time we come down.

    5
« Large, clean rooms. Good value »

Stayed for 4 nights in October. Room was clean and very spacious. 2 queen beds with a sitting area that included 2 chairs and a reading lamp. Also a computer desk. Mini fridge and microwave. Bathroom had 2 separate vanities and sinks. 1 inside the bathroom with the tub/shower unit and the toilet. The other was outside the bathroom. Nice to have 2 vanities when 2 people are trying to get ready at the same time. Plenty of parking on site which is not the norm for Key West. My daughter stayed at another property and had to park 2 blocks away. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice and there were always people poolside or swimming. The motel is located within walking distance of several popular attractions. The free breakfast was not great but decent. The price was less than most places we researched. I would stay there again on my next visit.

    5
    « Large Comfortable Room »

We spent 2 nights here. We liked the cleanliness of the grounds and the large size of the room. We had just completed a cruise so we were happy to have the elbow space. There is a very nice pool and parking for guests. It is a little ways a way from the duvall street action but very much within walking distance, a little over half a mile. There are also a number of good restaurants closer than that if a walk is not in the offing. A free breakfast is available that I found pretty typical. There is not a bar or restaurant on the premises but I did not find that to be an issue. Since this property is not near Duvall street, it is a little quieter at night, a good thing for me. We will definitely come here again.

« A lovely stay! Only negative was it should have been longer! »

This was a shorter trip to KW (3 nights) and we truly wished we had planned for a week! We truly enjoyed our stay at the BW Hibiscus! The location was perfect for us, and the hotel has great off-street parking which is much appreciated in Key West. From the moment we arrived, we found each and every employee to always seem warm, friendly and their smiles were contagious! Our room was really large, very quiet and extremely clean and fresh. The pillowtop bed was comfy along with the multitude of pillows! There was a frig, microwave and coffee maker! I appreciated the additional vanity outside of the bathroom! The air conditioner kept the room very comfy at the lower fan setting which was much quieter also)! The pool/hottub area was beautiful and the water of each was perfect! We enjoyed our breakfast every morning poolside which was an added plus for us! Breakfast consisted of varied egg choice, sausage, waffles, bagels, toast, yogurt with the added fresh fruits for toppings (strawberries and blueberries), bananas, oranges or fruit cups. A very nice touch to breakfast! In addition to coffee, milk and juice available at breakfast, there was fruit infused cold water available during the day. We most certain shall return!

    « Great Spot »

Love the location and convenience of this spot.Easy access to pool from every room.Very clean.Friendly and knowledgeable staff.Close to Duval Street but away from the noise at night.I highly recommend this motel.

    5
    « AWESOME PLACE »

I would highly recommend this hotel. Excellent continental breakfast. We had the king suite, so very roomy. Pool area was very clean and very tropical. The only downfall-the hot tub was not working(no working jets). But I would stay here again for another keys trip.

    5
« Vacation at this hotel »

Very good value for this location. Walking distance to all the restaurants, shops and bars. The pool was excellent, rooms excellent, complimentary breakfast was very good. I would recommend this hotel in Key West.

    4
« Nice hotel, lousy breakfast. »

Only negatives are there is no food or a bar. The breakfast served till 10 am sharp is terrible in my opinion. One type of egg, either a weird pre made ham and cheese omelet or a type of egg saucer with sausage. You can also make your own waffle, didn't want to be bother. I thought ketchup migjt help the weird eggs but it's not available. Would be 5 stars if they put just a little effort into breakfast. For $220 a night is that asking so much.

    5
    « Good location »

This motel is in a good location for walking to the Hemingway House and other places of interest. Short walk to the Southeastern most point marker. Duval Street very close and you can even walk to the sunset pier area if you don't mind the heat. A very friendly and helpful staff to assist you and the pool is surrounded by the motel so private from the road.

    5
« One Night in Key West »

Four members of my family spent a night here while visiting Key West. The location is great, especially for the Southernmost Point. Duval Street is convenient, too, although it's a bit of a walk to where the action is. The room was very clean and spacious. The pool was great as well! All the staff were very courteous and Key West was a fun place to visit. I can check it off my bucket list!

    4
« Right next to Duval St. »

Quiet and clean hotel with a nice staff. What's nice about this hotel is the price for the proximity to Duval Street which is only a couple blocks away. It was also really close to a convenience store and a bike/moped rental place. I ended up renting a bike and being so close to this hotel made it easy. I didn't make it to the pool but it looked nice and kid friendly. Also had a free and descent breakfast.

    5
    « Great location. »

Perfect and quiet location yet close to everything. Just a one mile walk to Mallory Square but the walk down Duval street is so entertaining you don't mind at all. Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, very nice pool. The only complaint is a minor one, the AC unit rattled and was a little noisy. I highly recommend this hotel.

    5
« Great bargain for Key West »

Very clean hotel. Nice pool covered loungers. Plenty of parking. A little bit of a walk to Duval street, but nothing an able bodied person couldn't complete. Definitely try the Cuban sandwiches at the deli 1/2 a block from the hotel!

    4
    « Fine hotel »

Stayed here with my partner on a recent trip to key west. Very central, everything within walking distance. The public area and our room was very clean and tidy. Good shower. Good wifi. Friendly staff. Good parking facilities. Only thing we would mark it down on, would be the breakfast...Not a lot of choice if you like a cooked breakfast. Overall,  good value for money and would return.

    « Near Everything »

We stayed here for 4 nights, we liked our Stay here. The room was clean, the AC worked well, had a decent breakfast in the mourning, the pool is well maintained and the Staff is very accommodating. The best part of Staying here was it is "Near everything". Minutes away from Beaches, and Good restaurants. Short walk to Duvall St and all the great activities in downtown Key West. We would definitely recommend this Hotel, prices were modest, reservations are highly recommended. Nice job.

    5
    « Fine »

The hotel has a good location, a nice pool with comfy lounge beds, and a nice breakfast buffet. Downside for me is the beds are super soft, I had to sleep on the floor, but I need a super firm bed. Will return, nice place

    « Great location »

Pictures make this property look like something from the 1950's. Retro is fine with me as long as it's clean and up to date. I was pleasantly surprised. The property is very nice and perfectly located. The staff was fabulous. The room clean and comfortable. The pool was wonderful after long days of roaming around. My only complaint was about noise from other guests, through no fault of the property. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

« Key West Motorcycle Trip »

Excellent place to stay while in Key West. Very close to Duval and, for many, an easy walk to Mallory Square and points between. Hotel staff were excellent. A special thanks to Luis at the desk and the "breakfast lady" whose name escapes me. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this 4 night stay. The prices were surprisingly good, although I think it was considered the "off-season". Nothing but praise and I have already recommended the hotel to some friends.

    « Pleasant suprise »

We've stayed in Key West at least half dozen times. This was our first at BW Hibiscus. The rooms are very spacious! Especially for Key West standards. Very comfortable bed, clean rooms. Fridge and microwave. Seating area and desk in room. The pool and hot tub area was nicely kept with lots of options for seating. Complementary breakfast had many options including fruit and yogurt. The a/c unit was a little loud but nothing that kept us up. The location is perfect. Close enough to the action, yet far enough for relaxing. We rented bicycles from Wecycle. They delivered and picked them up. That is an excellent way to get around and see the island. One block from convenient store. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

    « Perfection. »

When you first hear best western motel, you may not be thinking great things. Think again, this hotel is a perfect hotel for your key west get-a-way. The hotel is located on 1 block away from the south side of Duval street. It is about a 30 minute walk to Mallory Square. Although I did not take a taxi, I heard one other guest had a 8 dollar cab fare from "Durty Harrys." The hotel itself is perfect, I snagged it for under $300 and it was the perfect room. The room is very cute & spacious. The bed is very comfortable. I am not very picky, but I enjoy a clean room to come home to, this hotel was that and more. The pool is a nice get-away when you want to relax. You are very close to the beach as well. This is a perfect hotel if you are looking to do a weekend get-a-way. The hotel had free parking & No hidden "resort" fees. The price you get is the price you pay.

    5
« Affordable and Close to the Action! »

Had a great 2 night stay here. The location was great - 2 mins walk to southernmost point, 20 mins walk to Mallory Square. Hotel was just close enough to the action, but not too close. Room was very spacious with additional sink area separated from shower and toilet. We also had a microwave and refrigerator great for heating up leftovers and snacks! If need plastic utensils just go to front desk and they will gladly give you! Breakfast was simple - toast, bagels, make your own waffle w/ blueberries and strawberries available, yogurt, cereals, breakfast sausage, pre made omelets, coffee, and juices. Not many table to eat inside, but plenty available outside in patio area. It was a bit too hot for us outside so we ended up just taking our breakfast to our room to eat. Free parking on the property and pretty good wifi where i was able to stream netflix. Check in and out was very quick and the hotel personal from front desk to housekeep friendly and helpful! Pool area looked clean, unfortunately we didn't have time to use those facilities. Best part of this motel was the price - definitely the best prices so close to the action!

    5
    « Awesome Hotel »

I stay at this hotel every year. The rooms are big, beds are comfortable they have refrigerators, microwave, coffer maker. If you want a place to relax, enjoy the pool this is the perfect place. I highly recommend this hotel, the staff is amazing, the rooms and the property grounds are very clean. The breakfast is very good as well. If you want to stay near Duval Street it is a block away and about a 2 mile (10 minute) walk from Malory Square.

    « Clean »

Very clean and up to date rooms.. Large rooms with microwave and refrigerator. Very Well maintained pool area. Friendly staff and great Breakfast to start your day with Waffles, eggs, bacon and fresh coffee .

« This motel is adorable! »

Love it! Rooms are spacious, nicely decorated, and spotlessly clean, and you won't find a better location -- close to Duval, but in a quiet residential neighborhood. The pool is another plus -- much larger than we expected. Will definitely return in the future.

    5
    « Excellent for famiies »

We stayed at this property 2 nights after reading reviews and being suggested by board experts to meet our needs for a family and budget, The property was very clean as was our room facing the pool. It had hard wood/laminate floors which we liked over carpet for cleanliness It had a fridge and safe and the room was quite spacious with modern tropical decor, the maid was very nice and did a great job. Pool was very invitng and tables/loungers around it We were very impressed with the continental breakfast. There was so much variety and not all carbs. Even the make your own waffles had fresh berries to put on top. The front staff gentleman (african american) knows the hospitality industry as was great with people, upbeat, and very knowledgable in the area, he suggested a great snorkel cruise for our family, There is no laundry on premise but you can go across the street to another older hotel and use their outdoor laundry fascilities( old units but did the trick when on the road and need clean clothes) This location was walkable for our family to and from Duval steeet /mallory square and in a quieter area. The only complaint was the smokers swimming in pool with their cigarettes with children in the pool. We would definatly return to this hotel. We felt the room rate at $143 a night with AAA was great value for Key West

    5
« Home Away from Home! »

We have avoided going to this location because of the noise at the other end of Duval. Boy have we been missing out! We had a very nice sized room and boy was it quiet in there. This will definitely be a place that we come back to again. Great breakfast to boot!

    5
    « Fun & clean motel »

We were here for 2 nights this past May & it was a very pleasant stay. The room was very clean & the AC cranked, which was much needed due to the extremely high humidity. Loved the very nice, clean pool & the continental breakfast was great. The location was perfect, very close to the southern most point so you get there early for pictures before the line forms. I would not hesitate to stay here in the future.

    5
    « Amazing »

If you are going to Key West this is one of the best motels you will find. The staff is super friendly, the rooms are clean. They are conveniently located one street behind Duval St which is where all the fun is at, and yet you don't get to hear all that craziness, it is really quiet.

    3
« Great location in the middle of Key West, close to almost everything »

This hotel is ok, it got a great location in the middle of Key West close to almost everything. Close to Duval street and all the shopping and restaurants. Hotel is ok but not more, clean rooms, pool area is ok, breakfast could be much better.

    5
    « Short Stay »

Loved it! Rooms are large, clean and well equipped. Staff is friendly. Location is very close to shopping, eating, drinking and sightseeing. Plan on returning with my family in the future. We visit Key West several times a year.

    5
    « Perfect weekend getaway »

We went to Key West for a weekend getaway. The staff was very friendly when we arrived! We thoroughly enjoyed the space in the room as we were expecting it to be much smaller. The pool was amazing! I would highly recommend this hotel!

    4
    « Family Friendly »

Wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. This is a very clean, nice hotel. The pool is salt water which is pretty cool and was well maintained. The staff was very friendly and they have a good breakfast that was included in our package. There is no bar here which makes it a little more family friendly but your only steps from duval st. so you can get all the drinks you could want.

    5
    « Such a Gem »

The room was very large and clean clean clean! Loved the deco in the room! Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful! Breakfast was outstanding! A real cheese omelet!! Very quite place and great location to walk everywhere! Hope we can visit again in the future!!

  • 4
    « Excellent central stopover »

We looked through Trip Advisor reviews and booked the Hibiscus as it looked centrally located. Staff were friendly on arrival and most of the sights at Key West are within walking distance, which is the only way to see the city. Rooms were clean and have a fridge and a microwave. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise and again staff were very helpful (especially explaining the waffle machine process to us) If I visit the Keys again we would stay here.

    5
    « I would come back anytime »

This is a better than expected experience. I had no major expectations but the hotel is very clean, comfortable, the rooms are spacious, and they provide a value for the money since this is Key West, where all hotels are more expensive than anywhere in the US, possibly with the exception of NYC. It has plenty of free parking space, a nice pool, and a very acceptable free breakfast. The location is convenient, very close to the Southernmost Point in the US and a block from Duval Street, although not too close to where all the action places are. Many restaurants are closely and a taxi is just a call away. The Front Desk attendant with the last name Amador was very friendly, helpful and resourceful. I'd wish I could find more people like him in Front Desks. I would definitively come back to this hotel. A very positive experience!

    5
« Excellent Key West Hotel »

We loved our stay here. Walking distance (about 20 minutes) to Duval Street. In a very nice neighborhood. There was a bike/scooter rental shop 2 blocks down. The continental breakfast was amazing. Great place!

« Good Deal In Paradise »

great location....very clean....awesome pool....and not too expensive (for Key West)....i come to Key West 4-5 times a year and the place i usually stay is no longer available so this was my first time here- but it won't be my last time.

« PERFECT stay at the Hibiscus! »

We were two families with two rooms. Everyone agreed that this Best Western was perfect. The rooms were huge, and our rooms with two queen beds also had a desk with desk chair, plus a sitting area with a rug and two stuffed chairs. The rooms were beautiful and looked as if they were recently re-done. The fridge and microwave in the room looked new and were a brand name. Both rooms were immaculately clean when we arrived, and housekeeping was friendly and kept us stocked with plenty of bathroom towels and pool towels. The saltwater pool was clean (no chlorine!) and very spacious for the number of rooms in the motel. The poolside lounge chairs, tables and cabanas were clean and comfortable. Making it more awesome were free parking, no resort fee and complimentary breakfast with hot and cold items. Location was perfect. Next trip to KW, we will only stay at the Best Western Hibiscus. Highly, highly recommend!

    5
« Excellent service and staff. »

3 of us stayed together (unrelated) in this excellent motel. Rates were satisfactory, we had 1 couple and a single person with us and we split the cost. Room was always clean, mattress was absolutely super-soft yet supportive. Had a hair dryer, iron ironing board, cabinet in the bathroom area was more than satisfactory. We were able to park the car and walk to Duval Street primarily, then we learned our way around KW and was able to walk to many places without moving the car. Staff was informative about where to catch the trolley (which was very close) so we took it. The first time we stayed here was because it was AAA recommended, we will always recommend this motel for anyone traveling to stay in Key West.

    5
    « Wonderful »

We were pleasantly surprised how nice the hotel was upon our arrival. The entire resort has been renovated. The rooms are large and spacious. The pool area is nicely landscaped and there were plenty of chairs. The location of the hotel is excellent for all activities. We used our AAA dicount and received a fantastic rate. I hope the hotel keeps the rates reasonable because it is truly a fantastic find in a great Key West location.

« Good location and pool »

We stayed at Best Western's hotel Hibiscus for four nights. We had a good stay! It's located near Duval street on the south. The pool area is excellent, and the breakfast is alright. (Waffles, bread and bagels, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit and berries, egg, bacon or sausage, fruit cups, coffee and juice).

    5
« Hotel of choice in Key West »

We have stayed in Key West multiple times and the Hibiscus is the best location with the largest rooms. Hotel is very clean and spacious. The location is one block from Duval and near Southern most point.

    « Good location »

This was the most expensive hotel on our roadtrip through Florida. Almost 300 euro's for 1 night :/ I think spring break had something to do with it. This is a very nice hotel but not for 300 euro's. We liked everything. Nice spacious and clean room, beautiful pool. Extended free breakfast, free wifi, in-room coffee making facilities, free microwave popcorn, microwave, refrigerator and free parking. It is in a quiet area of Key West but everything is reachable on foot.

    4
    « Great location »

This is a small, but comfortable hotel close to shopping, but away from the hustle of upper Duval Street. Parking is adequate, the pool was a great place to gather with friends and the price is reasonable.

    4
    « Nice place »

Hibiscus Hotel is a great location. The man at front desk explained how to get around and had a map. The room was adorable and setting beautiful. The only thing that could improve is the pool water was warm. I do realize it is very hot down there which warms the pool. Overall, I would recommend.

All the staff was very friendly until we had to deal with RITA. Very rude with a serious attitude issues. Upon check in we did tell Andrew? that we MIGHT pay with BW travel cards upon check out but not sure.We told him to run our credit card as a hold for incidentals. Andrew was extremely nice and had great attitude . At check out we decided to pay with our BW travel cards. Lo and behold, we now had to deal with RITA. Did i mention that when we entered the lobby front desk NO greeting or acknowledgment or a smile of our presence from Rita ? the young gentleman with a slight accent was nice and friendly. When we told Rita that we intend to pay with BW travel cards , she went ballistic. Her question was why did we not pay with card upon arrival. I did inform her that it was my choice on how i wish to pay for my room. I own and operate a BestWestern and know how the process works. When i told this to RITA , still no apology or anything . Her response was "i am going to write up the desk clerk who checked us in ". By this time was i at the end of my endless patience . I told her that she needs to retake the ICARE classes and learn some customer service skills.

« Close to beach and downtown. Great for family »

The price was reasonable. I brought my children here. The rooms were clean, and it's close to Duval Street. Also very close to the southernmost Beach Cafe for your kids can actually have a little dip on the beach. Very close to the dessert place called Better Than Sex, about .3 miles away. I would go back to this place again.

    « QUICKY VACATION »

Got reservations at this motel sight unseen and was so pleasantly surprised. The room was very spacious and very clean and updated. Our biggest surprise was our free breakfast. You would not believe what was provided. At any restaurant one would pay $8.00 to $10. per person. The pool was large and right in the middle, also available was a hot tub and spa. I would not even look for another motel when we go back in the fall. Parking provided right in front. Key West and the Hibiscus Motel, what a wonderful time this family of four had together.

« Pleasantly surprised and totally delighted! »

From the time we checked in by Al, we felt right at home at this remodeled old school motel. The room was huge and had a sink and vanity area in addition to the one in the bathroom. The pool area was beautifully landscaped, well lit at night and had plenty of lounge chairs and canopied lounging beds. The location was perfect! Just off the beaten path, but still within walking distance to just about everything.

    « Wonderful Stay »

Hubby & I stayed at the Hibiscus for 8 nights. We had a first floor room. It was squeaky clean, comfortable, and had nice amenities. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to everywhere! Duval Street, Southern Point, Great Restaurants, Zachary beach, etc. The morning breakfast is perfect! It's free & has a nice variety ! The owners take pride in this hotel & it shows. The pool is sparkly clean, grounds kept up beautifully, & the staff are helpful, friendly, & professional. We'd highly recommend & plan on returning in 2017!

    « The Perfect Place »

Wow...we just loved this place!! There were nine of us traveling together with a mixture of adults and kids. We were unsure about it because we usually don't stay in motels. Don't let the word motel trick you! This place is amazing. The location is priceless. You can walk to the southern most point, Duval Street, and Mallory Square. We never needed our car. The rooms are huge and so inviting. Everything has been updated and beautifully put together. The beds were so comfortable as well. We also enjoyed the swimming pool. Extremely clean and maintained. The morning breakfast was perfect to start the day as well. We traveled the Keys for our vacation. The Hibiscus Best Western was our favorite place to stay. Don't miss out if traveling to Key West. It's a quaint and charming place to spend some time while away. My children begged to stay longer. It's a motel with a five star plus rating!!!!!

« Off the beatin path »

Very nice place, no smoking anywhere on premises, you have to walk out on the street which I wasn't happy about. Other than that it was quiet unless someone slams their door. I would go back to this place. The only other bad thing is you have to drive to go places.

    5
    « Pleasantly Surprised »

I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. Al gave us a great welcome and very friendly check in. Rooms were clean and very spacious. We did not have breakfast since the space was small and very rather try the local options. I would come back to this hotel next time in Key West.

« Great value and location. »

Two blocks to beach. Great location to walk to Duval St. Shops and restaurants. We had room 119. Pool was outside our door. Pool deck was clean and comfortable. We used a AAA rate and were pleasantly surprised how nice the Best Western was. The room was very spacious. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Great value!

« Nice hotel but beds were uncomfortable »

I've stayed at the Best Western Hibiscus on my last 3-4 trips to Key West and the rooms were always nice and the beds were very comfortable. This trip the beds were very uncomfortable. Hardly slept the first night. Didn't sleep well the other nights. Everyone in my family complained of them being uncomfortable. I may or may not stay there next trip.

« Great place to stay »

Our family stayed only one night and it was a comfortable and restful stay. The room was very clean, the commons areas were welcoming and well maintained. The pool was refreshing and lounging area very comfortable. Continental breakfast was good and sitting area was clean and offered inside or outside. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Al at the front desk was a pleasure to visit with.

« Great place to stay »

This is a great place to stay if you are on a budget. Staff is excellent, very helpful and nice. Clean cool rooms, comfortable beds, all in all great deal. We will definitely return, hopefully next time we can stay the entire weekend.

    4
« Great Rate and very nice accomodations »

I was able to secure an excellent rate and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the accomadations we received for the price. The rooms were clean, well decorated, and close to everything we needed.

« expected less, received more »

I only stayed one night but the place exceeded my expectation of what I thought a best western motel would be like. modern, clean rooms. comfortable beds and pillows. modern, stylish bathroom. The place has free parking!!! a really nice modern "L" shaped pool and comfortable cabanas to rest near the pool. Included is a free continental breakfast which included scrambled eggs and bacon, waffles, fruit and other assortment of breakfast goods. The front desk was welcoming, specifically Al! very nice and helpful. He placed us on the second floor overlooking the pool, which at first I thought would be noisy but I was wrong. very quiet place to relax and just located away from the main drag of Duval street. nice little Cuban spot across the street as well as a bodega or small grocery store. All in all a great stay for the price. The only thing I wish it had was a fitness center.

    5
    « Awesome Experience! »

Me and my husband stayed here for a week for our honeymoon and couldn't have asked for a better place. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was huge and clean! The breakfast was great! Lots of different choices! The location was perfect for us. We were on the "quiet" end of town but that didn't bother us. We were able to rent a scooter from a nearby place and traveled the island that way. It made it so easy to get around. We would definitely stay here again!

    « Lovely Place...well Mostly »

Chose this place because it is withen walking distance of Duval street. Beautiful pool area, nice continental breakfast and very large rooms. It is a 2 story and no elevator so we were very disappointed that Best Western reservations didn't follow with our request for one of our rooms to be ground level for my elderly parents. We didn't get there till evening so all other rooms were full and we were on the 2nd level not even close to each other. It was a difficult journey for my father to do the stairs as it was raining and they were slippery. As I said it was a late check in so we basically got my parents settled, dropped our bags and headed to town. we got back to the hotel close to midnight, didn't really turn on many lights except those in the bathroom and sink area so we could all shower and get to bed(my husband and I shared a room with our daughter and son in law) in the morning once lights were on, my husband noticed many long black hairs in our bed...I have short light brown hair, what made the situation worse is that there were also 2 used condoms beside the bed on the floor up near the head of the bed...when I brought this to the desks attention a manager immediatly informed me that this is not how they run their hotel (I didn't assume that since everything else is very clean) and they assured me they would refund my money. After much thought on this my husband and I feel that there is no way our bedding was changed after the previous guest because if it had been then the maid would have seen the condoms and all the black hair...we had thoughts on that every night following our stay in Key West while on vacation, it gives me the chills thinking about it. So I guess we have learned a valuable lesson to turn on all lights and check out the room, don't assume it is clean just because everything else it.

    « Great Hotel »

In Key West for vacation very happy with the Hotel and location. Great value and will stay here again. Very friendly staff and easy access to Duval street. Was a little concerned about staying here but it exceeded my expectations after getting there. would be great for small children too, nice pool and covered cabanas for shade. The breakfast was also good but not very big space to sit when you wait till closing time.

    5
« Just as good as last time... »

Last trip we stayed here and everything was perfect. We decided to stay here again this trip and were not disappointed. The rooms are large and clean, the staff friendly and the location is great - only a block off Duval Street. They have a nice pool, free parking and a good breakfast. I would recommend this hotel as a great option for couples and families.

    « "Perfect Hotel & Location" »

We went back to Key West in May 2014 because we did not get enough of it in 2013. After using the public bus to travel around and see some of the other hotels last year, we decided we wanted closer to the "Main Drag of Town, Duval Street (no pun intended). The Best Western Hibiscus was in a great location and it was only 1 block from Duval Street. It was indeed the perfect location for us. Quiet but close to the action and within walking distance to many of our favorite places from the year before. The staff at the Hibiscus was very friendly and accommodating, housekeeping staff were very nice. Our room was clean and tropical feeling. Continental breakfast was offered every morning. Swimming pool and hot tub were clean and enjoyable. We had a great experience staying there and we are making plans to stay there again with our 25 year old twin sons in 2017. We highly recommend the Hibiscus.

    5
    « Charming, clean boutique-like motel. »

The hotel is very well kept with clean rooms and kind staff. It makes you feel like you are in a 60s motel, with a modern appeal as it was obviously recently renovated. The location was perfect; down the street from the beach and the famous "southernmost point of the USA" and just a street over from the famed Duval St. I usually do not stay in Best Westerns, but this one is a winner.

    5
    « Key West Accommodations »

Visited Key West for a long weekend & stayed at Best Western Hibiscus Hotel. The location was great, walking distance to Duval and other points of interest. The staff was very accommodating in providing great recommendations for restaurants and tours. The hotel has very spacious rooms and the pool is great.

« Rita at the front dest »

We had a bad situation when we arrived at Key West due to a problem with our AAA travel agent booking the wrong dates. It was a big week in Key West and most places were full. Rita worked with us and worked with us until she was able to make a bad situation great. She did everything she could and made our stay most enjoyable. I can't thank her enough for her professionalism and determination to make a happy customer. We will definitely return and recommend this motel to everyone. It was clean and nice and a very short walk to Duval Street, the Southernmost Point and the ocean. Thank you Best Western!

« Great location, breakfast included and great service! »

We were only in Key West for one night but this was definitely a great location for people staying here for a short time! As a young couple, affording to stay in Key West was hard...but this was one of the most affordable options we could find and we loved it! Plenty of parking, the front desk staff were super friendly - they handed us a map and marked all the main attractions which made it easy for us to plan our day. Very close to Southernmost Point and Duval St (main street of restaurants, bars and shops). Clean, spacious and comfortable room. We had full breakfast included with bagels, eggs, sausages, yoghurt, cereal, toast, coffee, juice :)

    « Key West July 2016 »

Great staff @ this hotel. Wonderful free breakfast w/omelette bar included. Huge rooms with mini fridge, microwave, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and safe located in closet. On the quiet end of Simonton Street but parallel to Duval Street . Great Cuban cafe' within walking distance . Loved my time spent there.

« Great location in Key West and fantastic service »

My family have stayed at the Hibiscus a number of times over the years and have never been disappointed. It is located close to the south end of Duval Street so if partying/shopping is your thing you don't have to go far. It is also close to the southern beaches and the lighthouse. The staff are friendly and will arrange excursions if they can. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The pool is well kept and clean and finally the breakfast is very good too and sets you up for the day. The rates do seem to vary a bit but we booked on-line well in advance and got a good deal. Will definitely be returning to the Hibiscus the next time we are in Key West

    5
« Short Trip to the Keys »

Clean, easy walk down Duvall Street. Near Southernmost Point. Great place to stay. Would recommend this place as the rooms were spacious and clean. We had a great time for our first visit to the Keys. Toiletries available and hairdryer in room.

« We start our USA trip in Key West »

Arriving late due to a delayed connection from Miami on American Airlines check in was easy and welcoming, the room clean and spacious, the pool is nice and palm tree lined although in the middle of the surrounding rooms in typical motel style. The breakfasts are good for this free type of thing, with the staff restocking regularly. The hotel is placed just one block from the main drag of Duval Street and a couple of blocks from the Southernmost Point Marker, approx 1.2 miles from Mallory Square but an entertaining walk. The only small problem is that our room's bathroom door lock is faulty and sometimes sticks closed.

    5
« First time in Key West »

Wonderful stay! Our room was large, clean, and quiet. The pool is beautiful and fun to swim in. Breakfast in the morning was good and the lady that took care of that area kept everything well stocked and spills wiped up. Walking distance to everything.

    4
    « Very clean »

Very clean spacious rooms. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful with directions. Breakfast was very good. We didn't have time to use the pool but it appeared to be clean also. Was convenient location to walk to different attractions and the beach area.

« Nice quaint hotel but very expensive »

Really enjoyed the hibiscus theme, the pool was absolutely beautiful, the breakfast was great but really cramped in the small air conditioned place to eat. The cost was very expensive $150 for a Sunday night. Staff excellent & rooms comfortable & clean.

    5
« Great value for Key West »

Picked motel based on internet reviews and price. The Hibiscus is one of the few with parking for their guest as we had 10 motorcycles in our group. We had seven rooms reserved for two nights. All the rooms were great with new bedding and linens. The management was friendly and accommodating. The pool (salt water) was great with an area to socialize in. The motel is a short walk to a public beach on the Atlantic with a pier and a high end restaurant for evening dining. Motel is located just one block from Duval St on east end. The breakfast had a good selection of food.

    5
« Great place to stay »

Great crew and location. Loved it there. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Ladies cleaning our rooms were friendly and kind. Everyone smiled and greeted us. The pool area was very clean. Breakfast was good. Location was near Duval Street which is the main street with lots of activities. We rented scooters and the parking was set up for bikes and scooters.

    5
    « Great Experience »

Poolside room, ample living room area, great location. Would recommend to anyone who is exploring Key West for the first time. Close to Duval Street, so we were able to walk up and down for both dinner and drinks.

    5
    « Great location! »

Friendly staff, Al at the front desk offered to book tours and gave great suggestions for food and attractions. Pool and patio area is great, as is the continental breakfast. It is within walking distance to historical downtown and Duval Street, but away from the crowd. Very clean, spacious, and nicely updated. It was nice having two sinks!

    4
    « Good value »

The hotel is well located, clean and modern, the room nicely furnished and very spacious. the only problem we had was with lack of towel racks. There was nowhere to dry your towels after using them. A large room with plenty of space so that should be easy to amend.

« Last minute trip with a Colleague »

I have not been to Key West for a few years and things have vastly changed. This property is centrally located and certainly the scooter rental or bikes are the way to go - tooling around in a car isn't really cool - hard to find parking. We were able to walk down to Duval Street and all was so much fun. Scooters were fun - watch out for drunk walkers - lol. This hotel puts on a great breakfast and are super nice about giving coupons and stuff like that at the front desk. The pool is great and as well as the Jacuzzi. We went memorial day weekend but left just prior to the herd of cars heading south - don't recommend sitting in holiday traffic so avoid going south if possible. Our room was nice and the cleaning staff were busy but very accommodating - a couple of bucks goes a long way. I worked from the room and the Wi-Fi was good. The views at sunset are spectacular and you could literally walk to southern most point for it - arrive early - gets crowded Any questions, feel free to ask Christie Russ

    « Excellent, friendly staff »

Al, at the front desk, went above & beyond what was necesarry. He recommended a pizza parlor and that was good. The hotel is clean and has big rooms. This was our 3rd time staying here and I have recommended it to others.

    5
« Excellent choice in Key West »

Excellent accommodations at a reasonable rate. We were traveling by motorcycle so parking on the property was perfect especially in an area where parking is a bit tough to come by. The location worked great as we could walk to the southernmost point, Duval St. and restaurants. Close to everything yet on the quieter end of town. It was extremely warm and humid when we were there so we opted for a cab to Mallory Square, well worth it for $10.00. We did walk back after sunset. The hotel itself was very clean and well kept inside and out with a beautiful pool area. Marque and Andrew really made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Will definitely stay there again!

    « 4th ofJuly Weekend »

Our experience in the hotel- on a very busy weekend for the island- was beyond smooth and easy. Huge parking lot for all guests. The property was clean and well taken care of. Rooms were spacious, clean and perfect for our stay. They offer a free continental breakfast that I consider an exceptional continental... Fruits, bagels, waffles, eggs, yogurt. Etc. Overall, a good spot in the quieter side of town.

    « Anniversary Trip »

This was a nice clean hotel, close to most everything. We walked everywhere. The housekeeping was a little slow and the breakfast was not very good, but other than that, it was quiet and your neighbors were considerate. I would definitely tell people to stay here. We were very happy with our stay.

    5
« Very pleasant place to stay »

This Best Western was one street back from Duval Street, everything was in walking distance which made this very convenient for leaving the car in the parking lot. The hotel room was adorable , the staff from check in to housekeeping were fabulous. The free breakfast was typical hotel breakfast. I would strongly recommend this hotel

    5
    « Very satisfying stay - Again! »

The Best Western Hibiscus is a great place to stay in Key West. Close to all the action you want but in the quieter part of Old Town. We've travelled many times over the years and have always found the Hibiscus o be clean, comfortable and affordable. Hope they never change and can't wait to return.

    5
« One of the best BEST WESTERNs »

Extremely polite and kind team on the registration desk. Welcome offer for upgrading. The room is very comfortable and nice. The bathroom is the most nice one we got in one month trip through the east cost. Very generous free parking and a central swimming pool. The personnel is very proffessional and helpful. The only note to add is that we did not find any sign of " BEST WESTERN " to watch from the road.

    5
    « Very pleasantly surprised »

We had never heard of this particular hotel prior to booking our trip but my wife said it just stood out to her. She particularly liked the short distance to Duvall St. which allowed us to park once and walk the rest of the trip. Check in was seamless along with the attention of a very professional manager. The room was spotless and immaculate. Check out was no more than a simple good bye and I hope you enjoyed the stay. Completely no effort. Would highly suggest you consider this hotel when going to Key West.

« Nice big rooms, well decorated, so-so breakfast included »

We stayed one night here before going to the Casa Marina. This hotel is very well maintained, surprised by the large size of our room ! The breakfast was ok but I have a gluten issue so it wasn't good for me. They have complimentary coffee available all day and a pool We didn't use the pool because I felt uncomfortable - all guys were in the pool area - so we rented bikes from around the corner instead The staff is very friendly

    5

    « Great Find..... »

Clean, roomy and a beautiful pool with oversized cabana beds. Great place to put the family because the rooms surround the pool. Great community atmosphere. A wide variety of breads, cold and hot breakfast choices.

    5
« Great location...cabana beds at their beautiful pool....clean rooms »

There is so much to tell you about this well-kept motel. First, the front desk staff Rita, Marcus, Luis and the housekeeping staff were so attentive. the complimentary breakfast included sausage, bacon, eggs, omelets, waffles and they had chocolate chips and strawberries and blueberries all fresh...and a large assortment of cereals every day to choose from. Muffins, breads fresh daily. My family stayed at this motel for my wedding in Key West. The pool was so clean and refreshing and the pool side cabana beds were such a nice treat! Extra large full size cabana beds that the whole family could enjoy. the rooms were clean, smelling fresh and roomy. They included the blow dryer all the shampoo, cream rinse, soaps and even an iron and a microwave and refrigerator. We had at least 9 rooms and not one of my guests had a bad thing to say about this motel. Everyone said they were coming back to stay at the Hibiscus Motel Best Western again. Which made us very happy to hear that we had picked the right Motel for our extended guests to stay at in Key West. they even have a reward program which I will take advantage of for future stays.

    « Enjoyed the stay »

We loved the greenery around and in the swimming pool area. Rooms were very nice and already cooled down for us when we arrived. Breakfast was what you would expect and enjoy at any Best Western that I have been to.

« Enjoyed Our Stay in Key West! »

TV remote: could only change channels by pressing the up or down arrows. Would not work by just putting in another channel number. Internet: could not use our laptop due to the rather ominous written warning (in the room's services book) that the internet was on an "open and unsecured server". Too scary and quite frustrating! Cigarette smoke from other guests wafting through the (exterior) corridors that we have to pass through. Neither my husband nor I smoke and we should not be subjected to the smoke puffed out by other people, especially right near our hotel room's door! We were down here for our 25th wedding anniversary. On the bright side, our room did not overlook the pool. That was a GOOD thing. It overlooked the smaller parking lot in the back and was much quieter there, plus very convenient for loading/unloading our car. The pool looked SO good, very inviting. My husband used it a couple times. I wanted to, but came down with a bad case of 'sunburn' on our second day in Key West after going to the South St. beach (just a couple blocks away!). But I did get to dip my feet into your beautiful pool. Love the palm trees surrounding the pool area too. The breakfast room, while not very large, had very good selections and was kept very clean. The kitchen staff always greeted us with warm smiles. We stayed at this hotel for five nights (and that was without prior reservations!) and enjoyed our stay here. Only once did we use our car while here (to go to Bahia Honda beach), otherwise we just walked all over. This hotel's location is excellent. One block over is the famed Duval Street, where we passed the time most evenings. The South St. beach is just two blocks away. We even walked all the way to the northern pier area to take part in the Sunset Celebration! Plenty of shops, restaurants and bars nearby, as are places to rent bicycles, scooters, electric cars and pedicabs. Overall, our room was clean, comfy and nice tropical-style décor. Internet, cigarette smoke, and tv remote aside, I would def. recommend the Best Western Hibiscus Motel for a pleasant, relaxing stay with NICE pool amenities!

    5
« Very well kept hotel. »

Pool was nice and open very late- that was a nice bonus. We left too early to have any breakfast. I wish hotels started breakfast earlier. Beds were great. Hotel was in a nice section of Key West. We could walk to practically anywhere. Parking was good also.

    5
    « Always come back »

We stayed at this Best Western 17 years ago when we got married and keep coming back...We just love the hotel, the people that work there as well as the area. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.....

    « GREAT LOCATION »

This was the perfect hotel for our Key West trip this time with our 12yr old son. Each day started with complimentary breakfast (not continental) of waffles, bacon (or sausage), fruit, cereal, eggs, bagels and more. Bike rental was literally around the corner and only $10! We explored this funky island city all day then jumped in the pool and walked Duval to sunset at Mallory Square. Everyone was friendly and just so laid back. There was music everywhere, the food was outstanding, we hit several restaurants along Duval and people watched. Great keys vacation full of indelible memories! Will definitely do again!

« very nice hotel, great location »

this hotel is very well maintained and the room we stayed in was spacious. The location is on the quiet end of Key West, which makes for a great stay. Don't eat the eggs, even one of the staff said he would not eat them.

This Motel is on the east end of the island just a few blocks from the heart of the city. The rooms were clean and spacious, the pool was refreshing and the breakfasts were well thought out. The staff and help were gracious and there to help in every way for a good stay. would recommend it to anyone.

    « Loved our stay! »

We loved our stay at this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone! Next time I visit the area I will definitely check here first! A lot of room, great breakfast, close to everything, we walked everywhere besides our trips to the beach, with all of our stuff it was best drive.

    « Terribly Overpriced »

They should be ashamed of themselves to have charged me $403.99 for this room that was clean but nothing different than any other basic chain motel room. When we walked in, the picture on the wall apoeared as shown in attached photo which showed a huge disregard by their staff. The pool was nice which was the only other positive. There are too many other options for less money and in a better location than this motel.

    5
« Excellent hotel - good value for Key West »

This hotel has very comfortable rooms, a terrific swimming pool & hot tub and a wonderful included breakfast. The price is a good value for Key West. The location is near the southern end of the island and is a bit of a walk up to Duval shops and Mallory Square if you have problems walking. We like the location because it is a bit quieter and we like to walk so it is perfect.

    4
    « Overall good stay »

Overall good place to stay, but worst wireless internet I've encountered, Good pool, hot tub was hot but aerator not working. great breakfast selection. Nice large room. nice bathroom with two sinks. also free parking

« Great Place to Stay »

What we loved about this hotel: The layout- every room bordered the pool so it was easy to go out and enjoy it within seconds. The pool was nicely landscaped and decorated. The room- We had the one bedroom suite and we enjoyed a nice living room area, large bedroom, and kitchen area. There was a sink inside of and right outside of the bathroom. The staff- Super welcoming, helpful, and they brought us a free bottle of champagne. What??? What a nice surprise! Other thoughts- The location was good for us, but we enjoy walking. We walked to Mallory Square, Duvall Street, Hemingway House, and Southernmost Point. We took a quick drive to Smathers Beach where there is free parking. What I would change: The scrambled eggs seemed powdered.

    5
    « Wonderfully updated »

An older property in a super location, intelligently and thoughtfully updated. Well-managed and well-staffed. Rooms are very large, with updated decor. Really appreciated no carpet - all beach hotels should do this! Also appreciated having two sinks. Pool area is relaxing, clean, and well-furnished. Definitely recommend- super value compared to other area hotels.

Customer service couldn't be better. Jackie the dining attendant very courteous. Going above and beyond directing me to housekeeping supervisor to help with my bedding. With employees like her -- the great pool, breakfast and location you will not be disappointed.

    « Good »

We booked 7 rooms at this hotel for a wedding party last year in June under various names. I stayed in one of the apartment style rooms which was gorgeous and I loved it. When we arrived there was a wonderful staff member at the font desk. Very nice to me and my family... My only few complaints is we had termites in out BED!!! yes our bed that we slept with eeek!!! But we never complained. Shows you our good nature. We understand things happen but I was so impressed with the room I dealt with it. It was only a few that I saw both days that I killed. Not like a ton or I definitely would have asked to switch rooms. Also the 2nd day as I am out getting coffee before I start getting ready for the wedding I locked myself out of the room and a different guy at the front desk gave me a problem giving me a new key. My husband was off with his fam so I couldnt get the key from him. So I finally got one from the clerk and went back in. So then as I am getting ready the same guy calls up to the room with some weird excuse about maintenance needing to come in to fix some cords. And Im like no sorry im getting ready for a wedding its going to have to wait. We hang up. lol as I am done getting ready and walk out again like a space cadet I forgot the key. Keep in mind, this is not normal for me its just the hustle bustle of wedding stuff and vacation. So im standing there in an evening gown while a clerk is taking care of checking a couple in and of course (my clerk the same guy with attitude) is just piddling around on the computer. See's me. Im standing in front of him waiting to be acknowledged and nothing. I have people everywhere looking at me cause im in a gown. So finally finally again we play the same key game and i apologize again for having locked myself out to this rude man! With all of this I never complained or asked to be compensated but do to my last experience at best western in florida city which i just reviewed I will NEVER stay at another best western. I have worked in 2 hotels as a night auditor and I have never treated people this way. Nor would I ever lie or be rude to anyone. Its amazing to me how people treat one another.

Hotel is awesome. Very nice and spacious room. Pool is beautiful. They have plenty of towels for the pool as well. It's in the center of everything you'd want to do while visiting Key West. I will definitely be staying here again.

    « Nice Hotel »

We stayed 3 nights over the Memorial Day weekend. We thought the hotel had a great location with access to Duval street and the sights near the southern most point. The free breakfast is a plus. The rooms are clean and have a mini fridge and microwave. The pool was very clean with very little sunscreen residue around the edges. It's a short walk to the southern most beach where you can rent a umbrella and 2 chairs for $25. It's approximately 1 mile walk to the Mallory square area. All and all we enjoyed this property and thought it was a great choice and would recommend it. Also there is a deli / convenience store close by where you can pickup beer and sandwiches etc.

    « Great location! »

A friend recommended this motel very highly, so I took her advice and was glad I did. The place was spotless, the location was awesome, good continental breakfast, and friendly staff. It was very hot during our visit, so our favorite part was the pool, which had plenty of seating and much of it was in the shade. Also liked the fact that it had free parking--not something that is readily available in Key West. It wasn't inexpensive, but then none of the hotels/motels I looked at were--this one was worth what we paid.

« Great location - we enjoyed our stay »

We booked this for a three night stay on our US road trip. If was easy to find and had a great location in Key West. There was plenty of parking. Check in was easy and the reception guy was really friendly and offered us loads of advice on where to go and what to see. He gave us a map and marked places of interest. The room was of a good size and although we were halfway along the row on rooms on the ground floor we didn't really hear anyone when we were trying to sleep. There is a breakfast in the morning, which was quite busy but there was a good selection of things to eat and drink. The hotel was located close to Duval so it was a nice stroll to get to lots of places. The room was well maintained and the house keeping staff did a good job. The maintenance staff were always friendly. The swimming pool was a bonus and was a great place to relax before going out again. We did go into the jacuzzi / hot tub once but it was a bit too hot for me. Check out was easy but the two ladies on the desk were pretty unfriendly and never asked if we had enjoyed our stay. They were the only negative point of our stay. It was a shame to leave on a low point when we really enjoyed our stay.

    « Key West Vacation »

The gentleman I spoke to on the phone when making the reservation was very nice. Mentioned to him we were staying for our 20th anniversary. When we arrived at the hotel, there was a bottle of champagne in the room Very nice of him to note the occasion! The pool furniture is very nice and plentiful. The room is spacious enough and the beds very comfortable. The walk to any popular area of Key West is reasonable but may be a bit of a challenge for anyone in poor physical condition. There are plenty of options for restaurants and amenities within very close proximity. Parking is provided onsite which is a plus.

« Great place to stay! »

We stayed here last August and it was just as perfect this trip as it was then. the rooms are large and the beds are very comfy. We did not eat the breakfast, because Anna's down the street has great Cuban coffee and food, along with a store to purchase anything one may need. We parked our car when we arrived and did not drive it till we left. A quick taxi ride will take you down the end of Duval. Will stay here again on the next trip down there.

    « Not cheap »

Bathroom door was jammed when in and had to use credit card to jimmy it open and toilet continued to run, so I had to adjust it. A bit discouraging I must admit. Location was nice and pool area very nice.

« Not worth the money »

Good hotel but not a $300.00 a night hotel. We could have received the same quality at half the price. Breakfast was low quality more of a motel style breakfast. Drains in tub were clogged. Bathroom fan sounded like a jet plane.

    1
« Overpriced and Not worth the money »

This Motel is more expensive per night than the Hilton or Ritz in London which are both 5 star establishments. If you want value for money in Key West, look elsewhere. Staff need serious customer service training or replacing. This is one of the few B/W establishments that does not have an ATM on site. I was directed to a local mini market to access cash. Our room overlooked a set of stairs and a car park which made the room very dark. If you want a good night's sleep this motel is not for you as we were woken both nights of our expensive stay by patrons either having a domestic at 3pm or not being able to hold their drink. WiFi was hit and miss, not good for business customers. At well over $300 per night book this motel at your peril!!!

    « A decent place to stay »

The Best Western Hibiscis offers large very clean rooms, a very nice pool and a good breakfast. It is close to Duval Street and very close to the Southern-most point in the U.S. The hotel is located in a quiet area far enough away from noise and hustle-bustle offering a good night's sleep.

    3
    « Decent hotel, overpriced »

After skimming some of the other reviews of the Best Western Hibiscus, here are my thoughts: - The rooms are large, clean, and well-appointed. I do wish there was an extra blanket provided, rather than having to ask for one. The a/c in my room worked but made a horrible amount of noise (there was definitely something wrong with the fan). Unfortunately the hotel was booked so there was no choice but to suck it up and deal with the noisy a/c unit. - The pool is really, really nice. Plenty of padded chairs and even some really awesome pool beds. - I didn't eat breakfast here but it is served 6-10 AM and I'm sure it's the same as most Best Western breakfasts. I'd be wary of taking advantage of it though because the breakfast area is very small and has limited decent seating. The plastic stools that make up half the seating don't look like they could hold much weight. - This hotel is not really "centrally located". If you want to be very close to the Southernmost point, it's perfect, and I definitely enjoyed that short walk several times during my stay...but otherwise it's a half mile to more than a mile walk to most of the attractions, best restaurants, Duval, better beaches, etc. - The employees are a mixed bag. Some of them are polite but not overly helpful; others don't seem to know what they're doing; still others are almost a bit TOO friendly (but then I'm the type of traveler who doesn't want to be drawn into a conversation every time I pass through a hotel lobby). My biggest gripe is that I booked a Thursday through Sunday stay almost a year before my actual arrival. Upon calling to add Wednesday night to my room, I was told the king bed rooms were fully booked and that I would have to change rooms. That was my fault for waiting until a month or so before my trip to add the night, but then when I arrived...MY ENTIRE RESERVATION HAD BEEN CANCELED. I'd paid for my first night's stay when I booked the room through AAA, but apparently because my credit card expired between the time of booking and my arrival they just...canceled my room anyway? It was all very messy and confusing, made for a long check-in process, and I was offered next to nothing for my troubles...and yes, I still had to change rooms after my first night. All of this left me with a bad taste in my mouth that the shoddy/loud a/c unit and long walks to attractions/decent restaurants didn't help. As I said, the location is good in some respects, and the rooms are clean/comfortable for the most part, plus the pool is great...but for a AAA discount that still gave me rates of $180/night for a king bed room and $250/night for a room with 2 queens, this place is overpriced and I would look elsewhere if you're looking for a truly great stay that's closer to the best things Key West has to offer.

« Good value but not a resort. »

At check-in was not treated the best. Lady was eating her lunch and was very rude. Rooms were clean but bathrooms old. Pool is salt. Location is ideal...short walk to Duval. Breakfast is free but every day we were there they ran out pretty quickly so if you plan on the free breakfast...best get up early. Free Wi-Fi and parking is not guaranteed, but we didn't have an issue in May with that.

« Location, reasonable cost, nice pool »

The Hibiscus is 1-2 blocks from Duval Street: in other words it is central but not noisy. The room was clean and comfortable and the pool well-maintained. The staff was polite and efficient, and on at least one occasion--stranded friend at 2 a.m.--very helpful in procuring a cab. I would absolutely stay there again.

    5
« Just a great place to stay »

I'm staying at the hibiscus now, the second day of a 5 day stay. The place is great, staff is always there to help, the rooms are spotless, the pool is warm and inviting and the breakfast is the best I think I've ever had at any motel. Top rate. Super ??

« Great location in Key West »

Stayed here for one night, great for seeing everything in town. Very clean, quiet spot just off Duval Street. Nicer pool, and staff were all very friendly. Would recommend for couples or families. Breakfast was also very good.

    « Great Hotel »

Large clean rooms, free breakfast waffles, muffins, yogurts, coffee, free parking, nice pool. The only downside was while it's close to Duval it's not the "happening" part of Duval. Over mile walk to the popular parts of Duval and sunset festival. Is close distance to Butterfly Museum and South Beach which has a public beach and resteraunt/bar. We rented an electric car (looks like a golf cart) and went to Fort Zachary and Smathers Beach. Those are fun to drive around in!

« Perfect location, walking distance to everything we wanted to do »

The hotel was a recommendation and it proved to be a good one. Perfect location right near the Southern Most Point walking distance to Duvall street and lots of neat side streets to explore. Hotel had a nice breakfast included with the stay. Rooms were very clean. Pool offers lounge chairs as well as cabanna seating to read or take a nap. Quiet at night.

« Clean Key West Motel »

This Bestwestern has been recently updated. The rooms are large and comfortable. The property is well located and yet quiet. As with other Key West lodging, this motel is over priced. I would choose it again because it is unusually clean for the area.

« Very nice place to stay! »

We had a large and quiet upstairs room with white shutters. We were able to walk and not use our car for two days. We could catch the Hop On/Off bus just around the corner. Lovely tropical pool setting. Great refreshing free drink in lobby!!

    « Negative experiebce »

Let me preface this review with saying that I stayed at this hotel last year and it was great. Went back because of good experience and our stay was terrible. The woman who checked us in was beyond rude and unhelpful. Also Would not honor the discount Expedia gave us. Then we got a lot, and I mean a lot of bug bites. The hotel said they had the room checked but buyer beware. We called corporate to complain and they were just as unhelpful. For spending OVER $700 on a 2 night stay to have them tell us "we're sorry about your experience" has gotten them this review. We've been in contact with the general manager of the hotel as well and as you can guess, very unhelpful. Do NOT recommend this place. Canceled all best western rewards cards and will never stay again

« Be very careful and have everything in writing... »

I used to live in Key West and booked the Best Western Hibiscus for a visit to attend an old friend's wedding. I am traveling with my wife and 3 kids. We specifically called the hotel when reserving to confirm we can get a pack-n-play for the youngest. No problem they said. We called today to confirm the reservation (we are leaving in 4 days) and make sure they would have a pack-n-play available. We were told we could not have 5 people in the room because of fire hazard reasons. I explained that we were told it would be fine when we made our reservation and was told that the person who told us that was fired for making other "similar mistakes." They offered to rent us a second room (did not work for our budget) and offered us a room at the other Best Western, but it is located at the far reaches of the Island and would not work because we would then have to rent a car (not in the budget). Anyway, we are extremely disappointed and it looks like we found another place to stay, but it is costing us a lot more money--very upsetting. I called Best Western's 1-800 number to complain and we are in the middle of that process, but frankly, based on this experience, I really don't care for any resolution. Too bad, because this hotel has great reviews and was centrally located in Key West.

    « Extremely satisfied »

The staff was very nice and the hotel was clean. Good value with breakfast included. Would stay here again. Was located one block off Duval St. Very nice pool or if you'd prefer there was a small beach a couple of blocks away. Scooter rentals are a block away very fun and trolley tickets next door to the scooters.

    « Pleasant »

My husband & I stayed 3 nights in early April. We found a great flight deal on Jet Blue & grabbed it not realizing it was still "High" season in Key West. All the hotels were outrageously expensive. We finally chose the Best Western based on the good reviews, location & free breakfast. The hotel is based near the "Southern Most Point", the Butterfly Conservatory (sweet) & the Hemingway House. The street the hotel is located on runs parallel to Duvall St (the happening scene) but at the quieter end. You'll have to take a healthy walk (or bike ride) in order to reach the end (Mallory Square, Sloppy Joe's, Irish Kevin's, etc.) The hotel decor is pleasant, the pool & hot tub are nice but small. It was crowded due to high season so we didn't hang out there too much. The hotel is set up in a square with the pool/courtyard in the center. Our room (second floor) opened to the inner pool area . We had no issued with noise. There was one "loud group" whose biggest fault was smoking by the exterior steps (there is a no smoking sign). The best part about the room was the fact that there was an additional sink on the outside of the bathroom. There's a good size fridge & microwave. Only thing I missed was an outdoor seating area (balcony). I wouldn't include the pool area as one.

    5
« Great staff and good location »

The hotel is a little ways from the bar scene on Doval, but it's a short walk to get there. (The bike taxi's are always available if your lazy) The front desk staff is extremely helpful in booking this in the area and are locals so they can steer you into some interesting places. The rooms all looking into the pool and are a nice size with nice beds. They also have a safe in your room to lock up valuables if you go for a jet ski or out for the night.

    « Hotel »

One of the nicest motels I've stayed at. Staff was courteous, room was spacious and nicely decorated, and overall property was clean and hospitable. The breakfast could have been a bit more edible (this was the consensus amongst the 3 of us). Location was perfect to walk just about anywhere, just a mile to Malory Square to catch the acts and beautiful Key West sunset.

    5
    « I would Stay here again. »

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. Rooms are very attractively decorated. Very spacious for the 4 of us to move around comfortably. Liked having a frig & microwave. Gave us microwave popcorn every day. Breakfast was good (waffle maker) but room is a little small for all the people using it.

« Great hotel in Key West! »

Hotel is in a great location for walking to or biking around the heart of Key West. The pool is awesome and the free breakfast is a nice perk! Waffles, eggs, sausage, yogurt, fruit and assorted pastries. Being a block off the main drag of Duval makes it convenient but quiet! Would recommend to any and all!

« Perfect location, great spot! »

We had ants in the bathroom, and the front desk sprayed immediately and they were taken care of, and that was the only hiccup. This hotel is in the perfect location, one block from Duval street, and far enough down that it's quiet to sleep. The ocean is a short walk away, but the pool is also a nice decompressing area! There is a deli/convenience store right across the street. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and cool!

    5
« Great location and reasonable priced as long as you book early »

Love this hotel. The location is great, one block from Duval and clean, comfortable with a decent serve yourself breakfast. For Key West standards this hotel is very reasonable priced as long as you book early enough.

« Great place to stay while in Key West »

We stayed here over spring break. We expected higher prices because of spring break. This resort was very competitive in the price because of all that it has to offer. We loved the included breakfast: make your own waffles with chocolate chips, strawberries, blueberries; build your own yogurt with strawberries, granola and almond chips; hot items such as eggs, turkey sausage, pork sausage and ham. They also had the usual items such as bagels, muffins, cereal, juice etc. The parking was also included in the price and we could walk everywhere. The pool area was very relaxing. The pool temperature was perfect. Our unit was very clean and the staff was very helpful. This was our first time staying at a Best Western. We are planning on many more Best Western stays and are hoping that all are as nice as this one. For the area and everything offered, this place was the best price. Thanks for a great stay!!

« Best Deal in Key West »

We had a great stay at this hotel. The rooms are large and updated, the pool is a good size with plenty of chairs around it, and it's in a great location. It's very close to the Southernmost Point, Higgs Beach and we were easily able to walk down Duval St. from there but not noisy at all at night. The breakfast is typical hotel food but still decent, the eating area is small but it's also easy to take it outside and eat there or in you room. They even sent my glasses back to me after I left them in the room. If you are using a AAA discount, do not forget your card. It caused a bit of a problem when I was checking in but we got it resolved. I would definitely stay here next time we come to KW.

    « Great Stay...Mostly »

The Motel and check in staff were great! The pool was clean and nice and warm. The room was clean and large. Just don't show up a little early at the breakfast bar or the staff will get angry and scold you about trying to grab food before they open! They will slam doors and pots and pans and give you the evil eye. Also don't inconvenience that same staff by trying to check in while they are vacuuming or they will give you the evil eye. Don't ask them to turn down their middle eastern music either or you will get even more evil eye. Yikes! Did I mention the rest of the staff was great.

    « BW Hibiscus Motel »

When you visit a tourist destination like Key West, Florida, you can expect to pay premium rates for accommodations. At $330.00 US per night, BW Hibiscus Motel was pricey. However, it was competitive with other hotels/motels. It is an older property, but is well maintained. The room was large and functional. The breakfast area is very small and seating is an issue. The breakfast was fine and the attendant was very diligent in replenishing supplies. Front desk staff were very helpful at check-in with excellent restaurant suggestions.

    5
    « Nice Surprise! »

Pleasantly surprised how nice this hotel turned out to be! Quieter part of Key West yet within walking distance of everything. Loved the pool/hot tub area & decor was great. On-site parking is so nice to have in a resort town like Key West which has expensive & limited parking options. Self-serve breakfast was basic but adequate (waffle, muffins, cereal, yogurt, bagels, juices, fresh fruit) This is a nice place if you want relaxation & not a lot of noise & partying crowds. Many places to eat close by, too. Highly recommend!

    4
    « Really good! »

The hotel is rather expensive considering its standard, but then again, all hotels in Key West are expensive. It is well situated and you can walk to everything. I doubt that you will find a better alternative.

    4
    « Nice enough »

First, the staff, especially, Marquis, were very friendly and helpful! Parking was ample. The location was closest to Southernmost point closet to the historic area and was about a mile or so from the busy Duval Street area. ( We did have a wonderful delicious lunch at the Six Toed Cat not far from the hotel!) Our room had 2 queen beds, with a separate living space and kitchenette was spacious. The beds had typical hotel mattresses, not the most comfortable. However, I was informed they were replacing the mattresses. There were plenty of clean fresh towels. The pool was sparkling clean with plenty of lovely comfortable lounge areas and the hot tub was hot! The negatives- the tile floors apparently hadn't been mopped in quite a while and our bare feet became filthy. We had to wear sandals inside. The sofa was kinda old and lumpy. The breakfast area was tiny. People were bumping into one onother and there was insufficient seating inside. However the pool area was adjacent and had a few tables for added seating. Overall this hotel was a great value with courteous staff.

« Quiet motel, close to many things »

We spent two nights in Key West in March. There were four of us: me and my three children (two teenagers, a 9 year old). I was looking for a hotel that was close to the attractions but also quiet. I wanted to avoid the spring breakers. This hotel was perfect. I did not use my car once. We either walked or rode bikes everywhere. It is also close to a beach. The hotel is a little older, but it is very well maintained. The pool is large, with a small hot tub. Great seating around the pool. There are roosters in Key West but the walls kept out the noise. I spent a lot of time looking at different hotels (was looking for one with a pool) and this one was the best value - by far. I would definitely book a room here again. We booked the Queen suite, so we had a separate living room from the bedroom. Worth the price.

« Perfect for a night or two »

Came down for an over night from upper keys. Perfect spot to rest your head for the night. Rooms were clean and big. Location was 1-2 blocks from Duval St. Price was very reasonable. Continental breakfast in the morning. Beautiful, sunny pool area. Check it out!

« Best Value in Key west during high season »

Let's face it, key West is expensive. During high season, we used to stay at a resort next door to this BW and Paid Under $300 for their lowest cost room. NOW their lowest cost room goes for over $450. Plus now they charge for parking and a resort fee. We Paid $300. per night at this BW with tax. Value for today's standards. Would I pay that in another location for the same type of property? No. BUT having a continental type breakfast, no parking fee and no resort fee made it a great value. I would stay here every time. Walk to Sloppy Joe's is about a mile so if you cannot walk that far, this is not the place for you.

    « A Wonderful Spot »

Our family came to celebrate the 25th anniversary of my mom and step-dad. We had a huge party with several rooms. The hotel was clean & the staff was wonderful! Marqus (I hope I spelled it right) was amazing! It's a great hotel that is clean and the pool was nice. It is close enough the main strip to walk but far enough away to relax. We will definitely be back! Thank you for great memories.

« Nice Clean Property, Quieter Part of Key West, High Price! »

This is a nice hotel in a great location. We walked to most of the places we wanted to to go, or took the City Trolley. I liked the quieter area of Key West. We had a room that was by the pool, and that area of the hotel is very nice. The room was a good size, and was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was okay, but there were not many hot options; such as no meat. We enjoyed our stay here, but the price was way too high! It appears that all the hotels in this city are priced very high. The staff was friendly, and helpful. We had a parking spot behind the hotel which was close to our room. We would stay here again if perhaps the rates are lower when it is not "spring break".

    4
    « Great Location »

We stayed here one night while attending bike week in Daytona. The location is great if you are planning on going to Duval Street. It is one block off Duval but at the opposite end of the key spots on Duval. The rooms are clean and work well and represent a proper three star inn. There is a nice pool in the middle of the hotel complex. Breakfast is provided.

« Nice hotel, and Good Location,High Rates »

This was a nice property ,and we would stay here again. The breakfast was good, but not a great selection. There was no meat option available. The room was comfortable and a nice size. We had a room by the lovely pool area which was convenient. The pool area can be noisy though. We liked this area of Key West. It is away from most of the high traffic and "partying". This is a quieter part of town. We walked to most of the places we wanted to go to, or took the trolley. The price of the room was extremely high however!

Low end quality motel in the area. can be overpriced for what you are getting but the entire area is very expensive for hotels. try other locations first and use this as a last resort. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. location to Duval street was good for going to bars & resteraunts. no good beach close by.

    « A Comfortable Hotel »

The Hibiscus Hotel is located on United and Simonton, one block off Duval, in the relatively quieter end of town. Within easy walking distance of the Hibiscus is the Southernmost Point, Louie's Backyard Restaurant, El Siboney Restaurant. Southernmost Beach Cafe, and numerous other restaurants. It is walkable to the ?action? end of Duval, which I would guess is about a mile on level streets. Now this was in late January, and it will not be as pleasant of a walk in the summer. Cabfare ran $14.00 for four people from/to the Hibiscus from upper Duval. The Hibiscus itself is an older hotel of the type that has exterior walkways in the classic style. It is laid out with a large inner courtyard, with the swimming pool. The hotel's courtyard has been updated and is in excellent repair and pristine appearing. Rooms are large and comfortable, although perhaps a little dated looking. Despite the decor, it is meticulously clean. I was advised by hotel staff that parking can be a problem, but we never experienced that. The complimentary breakfast offered waffles, hard boiled eggs, bagels, muffins and a variety of breads. Also offered were fruits, yogurt, and cold cereals. The coffee was among the best I ever had. The breakfast room is a little tight, with me guessing that at warmer times, you can eat at the courtyard tables. Overall, I was quite pleased with the Hibiscus. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I had trouble printing my boarding passes on the lobby computer, and the staff quickly resolved the problem and secured my passes. We will be happy to stay there again.

    « Everything you need »

This hotel doesn't look as good on the outside as it does on the inside. We got a last minute room which was very large with 2 queen beds, a refrigerator and microwave (w/popcorn) and two armchairs. Love the two sinks, one in and one outside of the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet. The hotel includes a very decent breakfast with waffles, cereal, yogurt, etc. In the breakfast room there is a container with water with lemon and mint that you can get throughout the day--just a nice touch. The very large pool and surrounding garden are very lovely with lots of lounge chairs and tables. Very resort-like. Love the fact that they don't charge for parking. Al, at the front desk, was extremely friendly and helpful with recs for restaurants and site info. This hotel is a block from Duval and a decent walk to Mallory Square but away from the noise of the bars and nightlife. A good location. Would recommend this hotel.

    « Weekend stay »

Just a short 2 night stay before heading to islamorada. Very clean hotel, excellent location, only a few blocks away from duval st, and from southern most beach, and southern most buoy. Heated pool, hot breakfast and convenient to everything. Can't beat the price for the location it's in. Most definitely would recommend and would return.

« Good hotel at a reasonable price »

After not registering at the key lime inn (see previous review) we found the best western hibiscus. They had a 2 queen bed room for us,very large room near the pool which also was very big . It had free parking and a free breakfast. The hotel was clean and quiet and location was 1 block from duval street( duval street runs the whole length of the island) but there are plenty of trolleys and other transportation available.

    « A good choice »

A older motel but rooms have been updated nicely and with most of the rooms around the pool area made a very nice setting. The location is great also. I usually do not stay in a motel as costly as this one but next time I'm in Key West I will stay here again, and recommend this place to anyone I know that is going there.

« Quiet and Restful Vacation »

The location of this hotel was perfect for us -- close enough to walk or ride bikes to many places. The layout of the hotel, with the courtyard pool and hot tub in the center, provided privacy when we wanted R&R. We didn't hear noise from the upstairs rooms or room next to ours -- which is usually the case with many hotels. The continental breakfast was sufficient for us.

    « Great location »

We stayed here 2 nights with 2 adults and 2 kids. Hotel staff was excellent. Very helpful with restaurant recommendations and directions. The rooms were big and beds comfortable. 2 sinks were great, fridge and microwave included. Very quiet; no noise. One of the days we were there, the hotel had just added new mattresses to the first floor. We had a room facing the pool which was nice. Pool area was excellent, better than the pictures. Free breakfast was a continental breakfast: make your own waffles, hard boiled eggs, bagels, toast, yogurt, fruit, muffins, and juice. Coffee was good as well. Walking distance to the Southern Most Point and 1 block over from Duval Street. It is about a 1 mile walk to Mallory Square at the other end of Duval. We decided to drive it. Overall pleased with the stay.

« Very nice place, great location and great pool »

Staff was very nice. Continental breakfast could have had a better selection of fruits. Rooms were very clean. Quiet also. Pool area very clean with multiple areas to lay out, sit, take a nap, whatever. Location is two blocks from lower end of Duval st so right near the heart of it all. On site parking when not too busy, first come first serve. Would definitely stay there again.

« quiet and reasonable in key west »

A clean, quiet and well-run motel in the quiet part of Key West near South Beach. Friendly, helpful staff and a pleasant mix of visitors staying there. Nothing fancy but good value. The breakfast included with the room was acceptable, not great. We ended up taking a couple of taxis back and forth to far end of Duval, but for the most part we were able to walk everywhere from here.

    « vey nice hotel »

Hotel is located at the center location of Key West, the staff is very friendly, room is very nice, overall the service is really very good. We would like to recommend the motel to everybody, compare to another Best Western in Key West-Ambassador this one is located much better.

    5
« Super comfortable, fair location, and a good nights sleep! »

We were only there for one night. We thought it was very comfortable, and they provided a basic breakfast. We were able to walk up Duval St to Mallory Square, see the sunset and festivities, have a meal and walk back without any difficulty (we are not the fittest of couples...). Staff were very helpful. Probably the most expensive place we will stay in on this USA trip, but a reasonable price by Key West standards.

« Another Great Stay at the Hibiscus Best Western in Key west »

I like this hotel very much and have stayed in many of its rooms over the years. This time we did not hire a car in Key West and the hotel staff let us store our cases securely after a late checkout for 4 hours. The staff are very very good with customers, always friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and very clean, the Pool and Jacuzzi are always fresh and looked after well. I would recommend this hotel for everyone.

    5
« Don't tell anyone, but this motel is great! »

The Best Western Hibiscus Motel in Key West, FL is a really nice family friendly motel away from all the noise and craziness of Duval Street. The rooms have been remodeled and offer 2 sink areas. The price is more than fair and they offer many items on their included breakfast. We loved the hot tub and heated pool. The only downside is the hot tub could be warmer. Feels like a warm bath. I would still go back.

    4
« Great location, value less so. »

I should first note we stayed in the middle of February during a school vacation week, so we weren't expecting bargains. This is Key West, after all. But I would have hoped for a little more bang for my buck. This is a souped-up motel, nothing more. The rooms are spacious and clean on a compact property. The pool is adequate, so were the number of chairs. Guests were on the mellow side, except at breakfast, when there was a scrum for food. The indoor breakfast area is inadequate for the number of guests, though we found space outside. As for the food, strictly continental, with a couple of waffle machines to round things out. The best part of the Hibiscus is its location. You're two blocks off from the quieter side of Duval Street and walking to most of the places you'll want to get to in Old Town is easy. In the end, that's really what you're paying for

    « Great location & Affordable »

Stayed at BW Hibiscus in Key West for a week + for wedding. Hotel is located one block off of Duval Street, close to many excellent restaurants and bars. Hotel is very well kept, pool is a nice little oasis and breakfast is great! Rooms are quiet despite the fact that they look out onto the pool area. If you are looking to stay in Key West and don't want to spend a fortune on a hotel and still be close to all the excitement this is the spot! We traveled with our young son and it was just a quick 10 minute walk to a nearby playground. Would definitely stay here again.

« Great place to stay in Key West »

This hotel was perfect for our first visit to Key West. It is older, but well-maintained and attractively decorated. Clean, big room, quiet and beautiful pool area. It feels secluded, like an oasis in an otherwise crazy place that is Key West, but it's just a couple of blocks from the southernmost point and close to lots of places to eat, shop, drink, and listen to music. The staff is friendly and eager to answer all the dumb questions we asked. Good value. We love this place!

    5
« Super hotel in Key West. »

Good value for Key West and wonderful rooms. The best Best Western hotel ever. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the everything was kept very clean. Breakfast was not amazing but ok. If you are visiting Key West there are plenty of hotels to chose from and it can be very confusing so we would only stay here again.

    4
    « Hibiscus was great »

This was a good place to stay in Key West. We walked wherever we wanted to go, so the location was good. The room we had was large, clean and comfortable. There was a nice pool enjoyed by many guests. The breakfast was good and the price was reasonable, for the Keys.

« Wonderful accommodations in the Keys »

What a wonderful experience with this hotel. We originally booked our rooms with the Hibiscus through a 3rd party and assumed our reservations were set. When we arrived there was no verification and no room for us. The folks at the hotel worked with us for about an hour to try and accommodate our price and stay for what should have been a reserved room. I am so appreciative of the folks at this hotel going out of their way to help us, as without their help we would not have a place to stay and would have had to move up the island to find something.

    5
« We love the Hibiscus Inn! »

This is our go-to place. It was recommended 5 years ago by a friend and we, and our family and friends, have stayed there one week per year ever since. The location is perfect, right near the Southern Most Point of the U.S. Rooms are very nice, clean and have microwaves and refrigerators. The pool is heated, which is not found everywhere in Key West. The staff are all lovely, friendly and very helpful.

    « 2016 Southeast Bicycle Tour »

My wife & I spent 2 nights at the Best Western. We chose if for its overall value (quality, price & location). The room was very large. It was clean and neat. The walk to Mallory Square, at the other side of the island, was about 1 mile. The distance seemed shorter because of the many things to see on Duval Street. (There are many restaurants to choose along the way. We ate dinners at Margaritaville and Viva Saloon.) It was only 2 blocks to the southernmost point in the continental US. There was a trolly tour stop around the corner.

    5
    « Nice place! »

The Hibiscus is in a great location and was very clean. The room was very large and had a microwave and fridge. Good choice for those, like us, who are not used to spending mega bucks for a hotel. Duval Street is nearby, as well as great restaurants and things to go see.

    4
    « Nice »

Clean, comfy and quiet. It had included parking, wifi, continental breakfast and a heated pool. The room was spacious and updated. The location was great being just minutes from Duval. I would definitely consider staying again.

    4
    « Couldn't believe this was a Best Western »

Great location with a short walk to the Southern most point and not far from Duval Street. Al was so helpful at check in and mapped out where to go. The pool and ho tub were nice (open until midnight). Free wifi and breakfast are a plus. I would definitely stay here again.

    4
    « Saltwater pool »

The room with 1 king size bed had plenty of room.Best part of room was the sink outside the bathroom . Salt water pool was clean , large, and heated. The breakfast was ok but the overall price for this hotel was good. Renting bikes is a great way to move about Key West.

    4
    « Great Location »

Enjoyed the spacious room and nice location overlooking the pool. Not sure if there was an elevator, so ask for a 1st floor room if you have difficulty with stairs and/or carrying heavy luggage. However, stairs were wide and easy to navigate. Enjoyed the pool view from 2nd level. Loved having 2 sinks in the room! A bit worried about the moldy-looking wall space surrounding the sink pipes in the bathroom though. Continental breakfast was convenient yet average. Wish the sliced fruit was refilled more regularly. Hotel was walkable to activities, restaurants and shops. Rented bicycles from a shop around the corner which made it even easier to get around. Convenient bike racks in two locations at the hotel. Will probably look to stay here again.

    5
« Nice place in a great location »

All lodging in Key West is expensive, but this one is a bit less expensive than most. And the location can't be beat - just steps from Duval Street and the Southernmost Beach. Our room was clean and spacious and the continental breakfast was ample and tasty. There is a small pool and hot tub in the courtyard that is very inviting. Front desk personnel is very friendly. Would stay here again!

    5
    « Excellent service! »

The staff were all incredibly professional, calling cabs for us and answering questions. The complimentary brunch had items for everyone-muffins, toast and bagels, waffles one could prepare, fruit, cereal, yogurt, granola, and really good coffee. Easily within walking distance of Duval Street, the location is also away from any noisy bar scene. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and we appreciated a split bathroom with two sinks. The room also had a small refrigerator and microwave. We really enjoyed the complimentary mint- and lemon-infused water available throughout the day. Very refreshing! We would definitely return.

« Great value and clean. Bed too soft »

Great value, very clean and friendly front desk. Queen beds way to soft, and i have tried four different rooms over the years. King bed is better. Unless your in can sleep on anything, get a king. The breakfast bar is ok, although they use to have breakfast sandwiches you could microwave, and they seem to be gone. The housekeeping does a great job, and the front desk people are some of the friendliest I have ever had. Don't come down to breakfast when it's getting close to closing, the guy running it shuts it down early.

    5
    « Great location »

Friendly staff at front desk. Breakfast was a nice selection. Pool was clean and heated. Room was very nice. A/C worked great. Clean bathroom & bed and towels changed everyday if needed. Mini fridge & microwave. Walking distance to the beach and town. Quiet area.

    « Winter Getaway »

Motel is located one block off of all of the activity on Duval street and close to the southern most point of the US. They have a heated pool and hot tub which is unusual for many places in Florida! Motel grounds are nicely landscaped and the layout makes it easy to get around the property. They offer a heated breakfast with variety for all appetites. I would stay here again if coming to Key West.

    4
    « Convenient and spacious »

Very nice and clean. Spacious room. Really friendly front staff and efficient housekeeping. One block away from Duval Street and the beach. The included breakfast was more that adequate and the eating area was very clean and kept up. We would definitely stay there the next trip to Key West!

    « Excellent location »

Good welcome, excellent room, very quiet. Bonus to have free parking which is at a premium for the area. Free continental breakfast - good. Lovely pool, jacuzzi, sunbeds. Trolley tour stops nearby (ticket can be used over two days). Lovely town though busy when cruise ship in port. Sunset and street theatre on the front a must.

    4
« Excellent Stay Great Room Great Location »

Just a block from the main strip on Duvall and literally a block away from the southern most point of the US. You could probably find something closer to Mallory Square, location wise, but this hotel is affordable, clean, and minutes away from everything if you rent a bike. Free parking. Free breakfast. Talk to the guys up front for coupons. Every room faces into an awesome pool. Very easy to keep to yourselves or make new friends.

    2
    « Disappointing »

First the positive...it is located close to Duval Street and the Southernmost Point Monument photo spot. The negatives...Check in receptionist did not look at us, smile or make any kind of contact. She was pure robot. Bed spreads not clean, torn towel and moldy shower mat. Room seems dated and stale.

    5
« Good value considering the Area »

This hotel was the most reasonably priced in the area. It is in the perfect location. A couple blocks away from the noise, it is very quiet, but it is also close enough to the tourist spots that you can walk to Duval Street. We rented a car so we were able to drive to a couple of spots but parking is at a premium. That is why I loved this hotel -- free parking with plenty of spots for easy entry and exit. The room was clean and very quiet, which is what I was looking for. The shower was good too, hot water and good water pressure. The pool was nice and we used the hot tub too. If I was in the area I would stay here again.

« Neither Too Far Nor Too Close »

Great value and location. It was quite and peaceful. It was close enough to the busy Duval Street without being in the middle of it. The breakfast was average and seating was a bit crowded. Something I didn't quite understand is way they didn't offer a channel in English during the playoff games. We could only get the game in Spanish.

« Great priced hotel in great location »

We had a group of 8 guys stay here for a reunion. It's located just 1 block off of the quiet end of Duval Street. The "Farthest most point in the US" marker is just 2 blocks away. I would stay here again for sure.

    « Average »

The best things about this hotel were that the sound proofing in the rooms was amazing, the area was quiet and the pool was nice. When we arrived, we walked by the pool area and there were four inebriated guys horsing around....Thankfully when we entered our room which was twenty feet from them, we didn't hear a thing! Yay!!! The breakfast was ehhh.... But the price was right and it was a Good place to stay, a short walk to Duvall Street and the Southernmost Point. I would stay here again, but probably take a taxi to Mallory Square and walk back to the hotel.

« BW Hibiscus Key West »

For the money the place was good. We had a quiet room. I liked that the motel was away from the bars and crowds on Duval Street. They could do more painting inside the rooms and on the exterior of the motel. That is a minor point and does not really impact other factors. We had a fairly basic room but it was a good size. Staff members were very helpful and should be commended.

    4
« Great Location and Price »

This Best Western is located one block from the south end of Duval Street. Location is within walking distance of everything you would want to see in Key West. Price for a room in this area was a fair price. The complimentary breakfast could use some additional items like scrambled eggs and bacon. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

    « Great girls getaway »

I stayed here in May 2015 for a 3 night girls trip. All 4 of us split a room and were totally comfortable. The rooms are spacious and clean. Pool was great. We took advantage of the free continental breakfast. It is located right next to Southernmost Hotel. We walked next door and enjoyed a great breakfast there. Location is perfect at the end of Duvall. Would definitely stay here again.

Was in the upper keys and wanted to go to key west for one night. This hotel had everything we needed! Great price, great location, and great room. Nice size clean room with 2 queens and small sitting area. Front desk was very helpful and courteous. (Thanks guys!) Pool area was comfy and decor was very key west. Seriously, it's hard to find a decent place close to Duval st. without paying top$$. Breakfast was "continental" and included in the price. It's not a top-notch breakfast buffet ,but we had just checked out of a resort that charged a $39 resort fee daily, So we appreciated the free parking and free breakfast. Definitely will stay here again. Try Ava's Cuban cafe across the street! Best Cubans ever!!!

My friends and I spent 2 nights here before our 10 day Eastern Caribbean cruise. We arrived Jan. 2 so the rate was high, however booking it directly with Best Western was the best rate and on some websites, there were no rooms available. Service was excellent, location was perfect - you can walk to all the major sites or they can book a trolley, train, etc. We took the trolley tour and enjoyed it - used it 4 times during the day.

« Good Location for Key West »

This is a nice, "affordable" hotel. Everything in Key West is overpriced. So is this hotel. But based on the price of things, it was a good deal. The room was clean. But the room furnishing were not comfortable.....the looked and felt cheap. Sitting on the sofa for any length of time gave us backaches. There were not comfortable chairs. No windows open. The "free breakfast" was very minimal and not fresth. The "free wifi" was terrible....couldn't connect at all. It's too bad that the owners don't put any of the money in to the rooms in order to make them a little more like home and comfortable. But, that being said, the front desk service was great. The room was clean. The parking was good. The location great. So, for Key West, it's a good deal.

« Second trip to this hotel »

The first time I stayed in this property, about 5 years ago, I was extremely happy with the accommodations. The location is perfect. This visit, I decided to reserve a suite because there were quite a few of our friends visiting Key West with us. I recommended they stay at the Best Western Hibiscus hotel which they did. I reserved the suite so that we would be able to get together in one location. I was totally disappointed. I definitely would not reserve a suite at this location in the future. The furnishings were totally inadequate. Reminded me of a childrens camp. Metal coffee table, metal chairs, insufficient lighting, uncomfortable couch, no comfortable chairs. No full length mirror or chair in the bedroom. The regular rooms in this property are wonderful.Very spacious with good lighting and comfortable seating. Our firends expressed how inadequate the furnishings of the suite was compared to their regular rooms.

    « Lovely little hotel »

This hotel is in a good location and is very well cared for. The staff made us feel welcome and were very nice. The breakfast is well done; lots of variety to choose from although it is a small area. Everyone was very laid back and it was easy enough to grab a plate to go. They even have trays to take it back to your room. We had a large king room facing the pool area. The room was very clean and had a 2 separate sink areas which is nice. Also in the room was a mini-fridge and microwave; the microwave even had some paper plates, disposable forks and napkins. We rented bikes and used their bike racks overnight; this is a great way to get around town. The pool and hot tub area was also very nice. They have an assortment of loungers, chairs, and beds to relax on. I highly recommend this property and I would stay there again.

« Loved it, love Key West!!! »

My usual +ve/-ve review: + Location - just off the South End of Duvall Street so walkable to everything you will want to do in Key West. Rooms - Huge rooms and well equipped and lovely A/C for when it is 33c!! Pool Area - Really nicely done and there were always spare sun beds and there was a Jacuzzi. Breakfast - Is free and isn't bad, the Orange Juice was really good. Service - everyone was friendly and happy to help. Only negative is price but this was still one of the more competitive ones in the area.

« It grew on me »

As we first checked into our room there was a strong musty damp smell but we kicked up the air and it did get better. My friends room did not have this smell . The hotel was booked solid so we could not switch rooms It has a nice pool area and the staff were very nice. It is really a three and a half star resort at best . Free breakfast in the morning but it is the same items every morning and breakfast ends exactly at 10 am. There was a guy there waiting to start cleaning up a few minutes before 10 am. I do think it is over priced as well . I mean it is a best western and its over 3 hundred a night ! It is in a great location however .In the end, I think I would stay here again.

« Great location, huge room »

I stayed here in mid January and it was great. The staff at the desk are polite, welcoming and happy to offer suggestions and direction to places near by. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Two queen beds, a sitting area, large television, Refrigerator&microwave (with free popcorn) and a second full sink with large mirror outside the bathroom. Plenty to offer for breakfast - fruit, yogurt, waffels, muffins, bagels, oatmeal, tea&coffee. Great location - about a block off of the south end of Duval Street and very close to multiple rental spots for gulf carts and scooters.

    3
    « Old but clean »

This hotel is old but very clean. Its location is good in that it is within walking distance or a short drive from the activities in the city. All of the buildings in Key West are old with few exceptions so this one fits in. It could have a more updated lobby area which would make it more inviting.

    2
« Below Expectations for Service and Amenties »

This was our first experience at the Best Western Hibiscus and we won't go back. It started with our first room having a faulty heating/AC unit that sparked and smoked when we first turned it on and then set off the smoke alarm in the room. When we told the desk clerk about it he laughed it off as being caused by "dust bunnies" and then asked why we were turning on the heat. It was 63 degrees outside at the time...that's why. Then we were reassigned to a room with 2 queen beds vs the king we paid for and no discount or other compensation was offered. We then had problems with the Internet connection being really slow or sometimes not connecting at all and some electrical outlets in the room not working. Spending over $200/night for these types of issues and lack of customer courtesies is not acceptable. We'd suggest you look elsewhere.

    « Pricey but clean »

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting KW. Could use some updating. In my opinion a bit pricey for a no frills hotel. Our room was clean, but smelled musty from typical high humidity in Key West. 3 short blocks to Southernmost Point. Typical breakfast, Breakfast area is small. Nice size pool. Front desk was very helpful & courteous. We plan on visiting again but will look for a better hotel next time.

« Great centralized spot to see Key West »

Our family of four with a 20 and 22 year old "kids" enjoyed our room at the Best Western Hibiscus hotel in key west. Room was nice and large and clean. Beds were queen size and more comfortable than average. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was good but breakfast area was small. Since weather was nice when we were there we could bring our breakfast to the tables by the pool. Pool was nicer than average hotel pool with lots of seating choices around it. Office desk people were very nice and helpful in providing advice. We walked to all of the sites that we wanted to see. Lots of dinner choices within walking distance.

this Motel was hotel standard... fabulous comfortable room, soft beds and everything clean as a whistle. There is lots of free parking and the hotel is central to everything, Duvall St, Mallory Square - its all within reasonable walking distance. Mind you, for those of us from cooler climes, the heat of the day can be tiring, so I would recommend the hop on hop buses. The pool was welcome at the end of the hot day, and the sunbeds are plentiful and comfy. Breakfast was included and was wholesome and filling, boiled eggs, fruit, juice, yogurts, bagels etc. The hotel staff were friendly and informative - overall a good experience. My highlights in Key West were Ernest Hemingway Hse and the sunset at Mallory sq. When heading back towards Key Largo, stop at Anne's Beach - small but lovely.

I've stayed at different hotels in Key West, after staying at the Best Western, I won't be using any other hotel. I loved the hotel, the location and the staff. The rooms were large and comfortable and most important CLEAN!! The location was within walking distance to major attractions. The pool area was nice although we didn't use it. The breakfast was not your average continental breakfast. They even had Belgian waffles.

« what a fun cute place to stay! »

we are in our 50s and LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. its super roomy, has a separate bedroom, living room, bathroom, a really spacious place, more like an apartment rental. the bathroom has new tile and is really clean. there's a dressing area with a huge countertop for makeup, it's very un-hotel like, more like we are staying at someone's house. love it. the pool and hot tub are fabulous. and free breakfast. 3 thumbs up. we will be coming back. this is my favorite florida hotel. i wish they were all like this.

    « Awesome little place! »

Two of my girlfriends and I came to Key West to celebrate a birthday and we decided to book at the Best Western. I have been to Key West no less than 20 times but had never stayed here before. What a gem! Located at the south side of the island, it is a bit of a walk to the"happening" side of Duval, but don't let that detour you. The walk is nice and if you'd rather, just hop on a pedicab. They're everywhere. We checked in around 3 and the staff was amazing! So friendly and accommodating! Our room was even better and was so spacious and clean! Plenty of room to fit three girls and all their junk! The landscaping was lush and tropical and they had a great pool and hot tub! The hotel also had a pretty good free continental breakfast which was nice. We had a wonderful time in Key West and the superb hotel made our stay that much better! Thank you for a great girl's weekend!! I can't speak for my friends, but I would definitely book here again!

This motel is located just a short walk to Duval St. Close enough to the attractions but quiet enough to relax. Front desk staff were great, very helpful in directing us to things we wanted to see or do.

    « Great Stay! »

My mom and I stayed here on 12/19 and 12/20/15. I booked it based on the trip advisor rating and the location. It was a great choice! The location was wonderful and within easy walking distance of Duval Street, the southernmost point, and everything you need. The room (128) was clean, nice and quiet. The best part was the wonderful woman at the front desk, Rita. She was so incredibly helpful and suggested great places to eat and visit. The hotel was great but she was the icing on the cake. I had asked her for a taxi and she gladly called one for me. Then, a few hours later, she called my room and asked if I had dropped a $20. She had remembered our conversation and that I was getting my money out for the cab at the time. It turns out that I had lost a $20 but I didn't realize it until she called. Thank you so much, Rita! I highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed.

    « Hibiscus Hotel »

WE stayed at the Best Western Hibiscus Hotel in Key West , Florida. We try to stay at this hotel every time we come to Key West. It is in a nice location. The rooms are quite large and have refrigerator and microwave in each room. Most rooms overlook pool area. There is a nice size pool and jacuzzi. The landscaping is beautiful and there are cabanas and lounge chairs by the pool. As well as tables and chairs. They have breakfast until 10am. They have fruit, breads, muffins, hard boiled eggs, waffles and yogurt. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. It is always an enjoyable stay at the Hibiscus.

« Great Key West Hotel »

This is the second time we have stayed at the Hibiscus and we will keep coming back. The rooms are large and clean and recently updated. All of the staff are very friendly. There is plenty of seating around the pool including lounge chairs as well as tables with umbrellas for those who need a little shade. Its a quick walk to Duval St and several great restaurants. For the price and location this hotel will always be our go to when coming to Key West.

« Great place. Great stay. »

What a great place. Large, clean, quiet, well appointed rooms and super friendly staff. All for a fair price compared to others in the area. The only complaints we had were the pitifully slow Internet, but it just served as a reminder that you shouldn't be working in Key West anyway. Also, the dining room is really small when filled with folks not willing to share the space. All in all a great stay. We'd definitely stay there again when in Key West.

« An oasis in Key West »

Great hotel, and price. We were looking for a hotel ( didn't have a reservation) and found this hotel on Trip Advisor and called and they had a room available . We took it. The hotel looked like it had been newly renovated . The pool area was gorgeous for day or night time. The staff was professional and helpful. The room was spacious and newly decorated . The continental breakfast was very good. The location was great. Several good restaurants were in walking distance. If I return to Key West this is the only place I'll stay.

« Most bang for your buck »

Have stayed at this hotel many times on my visits to Key West. This hotel just gets better every trip. The room was clean and always had a good supply of towels. This is very often a problem I have ran into before at different hotels. The breakfast was as nice as any. Fresh juice, hot coffee, and waffles that you made for yourself. Who could want more. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Marcus at the front desk extended or checkout time and called a cab for us when we had to leave. For the price, location and service it would be hard to find a better deal on the island.

    « Last minute trip »

Took a last minute 2 day trip to Key West and did not have a hotel. Went to several hotels and they were either booked or very expensive. Found the Best Western and found 2 rooms side by side and were very conveniently located to our car, the pool and guest services. Price was very reasonable and the rooms were very nice as well as clean. The bed was especially comfortable. Would stay again if in the area

    « Location »

The Best Western Hibiscus is conveniently located,1 block to Duval St....2 blocks to the southern most point in the USA...Three good restaurants within a few blocks away.....And the front desk staff were very helpful, especially, "Al" We stayed there 7 days in June this year and 5 days this December(2015)....I would go back again & I highly recommend staying there...

    « Fabulous! »

What a nice place. Traveled with hubby & 2 friends. Got a ground floor room. Looked like the place has been recently remodeled. Room was very nice, bathroom had nice fixtures with an additional sink in the room. Granite tops. Pool area was absolutely awesome. Comfy, cushioned loungers, mellow indirect lighting at night. Hot tub in pool area as well. Well located, just a few blocks from several restaurants. Breakfast selection was very good. Staff very competent and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

« I am the second generation in my family to stay here »

It goes better each year. Pool is first-rate. We come before holidays. Bargain. Lovely setting and location. Rooms are good on either floor. Bike parking. Free car parking. You do not need a car if you stay here.

« Great location and Great hotel »

We stayed at the Best Western, for 3 nights, in mid December. We had a second floor room, away from everyone, it seemed. Rooms were huge and the bathroom, was huge, for a hotel. Pool area was wonderful. We had it to our selves, even though it was 80+degrees, during the day. At night, we would go to the hot tub, and met, some wonderful, fellow travelers. Nice easy walk, to Duval St, and to the Southern most point buoy. Can also walk to Higgs Beach and some restaurants. Free parking and free breakfast.

« Best Deal in Key West »

I have been staying at the Hibiscus for 20 years and have never been disappointed. It is affordable, the rooms are immaculate and the staff are wonderful. If you want a high end, luxury place, this is not it, but if you want a quiet, affordable, comfortable, clean places to stay, with large rooms, a heated pool and hot tub, nice complementary breakfast and accommodating staff, that is in Old Town and within walking distance of everything, yet on the quieter end of town, this is your place.

    3
« Hotel was ok for price »

Beds were very comfortable and rooms were spacious. Breakfast was your typical free food, nothing special. Most likely we would stay closer to the action near Mallory square. Never saw anyone in the pool but it looked nice. We went in the jacuzzi and enjoyed it. Walls are thin, we could here everything going on outside. All in all, staff is very nice and would recommend this hotel.

    « Excellent Stay »

    « Key West Gem »

3 of us stayed here for 3 nights last month & liked everything about the motel. We parked the car & only took it off the property for an hour during our stay. The room was large & clean. The pool was gorgeous. Plenty of options at the free breakfast. But the best part of the hotel is it's location. The area is quiet but with in close proximity to all the action on Duval St. You can walk everywhere from the Hibiscus Motel. We will stay here every time we visit Key West.

    5
    « BW Hibiscus »

The Hibiscus is located at the bottom end of Duval St. We walked everywhere. Great location. Hotel is very comfortable, with nice pool and hot tub. Rooms are large and comfortable. We wondered up and down Duval St at all hours of the day. Very friendly never any problems. Sunset pier. The Marina District and fishing Pier.

« Great Option for Key West »

The hotel is located one block from Duaval Street and the price is very good considering the location and the competion's pricing. Hotel grounds are quite nice but I did not use the ammenities or the contental breakfast. Hotel has parking and was no hassle for me. The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the area. This location is top on my list if I return to Key West.

« Great Base in KW »

If you want to be within a 20 min walk of Duval, I doubt you'd get better for the money. Spacious rooms, WiFi through all areas of the Motel. A great pool and breakfast, I found the options sufficient, others may prefer to go elsewhere. It gets a little crowded sometimes but there's trays to let you eat in your room. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, I can't think of any negative points...

    « Very good Motel »

This motel was in a good location, 1 block from Duval St., yet also quiet. The room was of a good standard. We didn't use it, but the pool area was also very nice. The cost was reasonable, by Key West standards. A good mid-range accommodation.

    5
    « Great Hotel »

    « Clean rooms »

It's a Best Western. Room was clean, breakfast was good and location was convenient to where you wanted to go. I stayed there because I wanted a location that I felt had a secured parking area. I didn't want to worry about on the street parking or parking close to a lot of pedestrian traffic. It was good, no scratches.

    5
    « Nice room. »

We loved the location and parked the car there and walked each day. Would prefer carpet, as my feet were black from going barefoot on the floor. The pool area is SO attractive with the huge "chaise" type seating ---- and very accessible. I loved the decor, carrying out the Hibiscus theme with tropical colors. The linens are wonderful----lots of pillows like we have at home. There are two restaurants a block away & we had breakfast at Camille's which is unique and walked a short way to Duffy's, which was great.

    5
    « great location »

this hotel is one of the nicest hotels that i have stayed at in Key West. The pool is in the middle of the hotel. They provided free continental breakfast. The hotel is a block away from Duval Street. Also, two blocks a way from the beach and the landmark.

    « Oversize rooms »

The room was huge by motel standards and well appointed. The employees were very pleasant and helpful. The front desk person even came out when we arrived seeing how weary we were and took our luggage to the room for us. The breakfast was just waffles, pastries, cereal, toast, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I have never stayed in a best western, I always thought of them as a lower quality hotel, this one is really nice, not over the top, but nice. The room is large and clean, really comfy bed, the pool area is really cool, set up like little cabanas with large sofas and chairs and canvas shelters to keep the sun away. Continental breakfast is included.

Didn't have real high hopes for this place when we booked it. But, it's real comfortable here. The room was big, clean cool and quiet. The pool area is really nice- lots of shade and comfortable loungers. It was sold out but not crowded. Location is an easy walk to the heart of Key West

Enjoyed our stay again in this hotel. It's close to the Old Town Trolly stop, walking distance to good restaurants and bars as well as the Key West Butterfly Conservancy. The bed was comfortable and we slept well! Decor is pretty and room was huge. Fridge and microwave is convenient and we enjoyed the complimentary popcorn too! Included breakfast was good and the waffles were yummy! Staff is pleasant and helpful. A good choice for Key West.

Best Western Hibiscus in Key West is the best place we have found for the price. We had a large comfortable room. Front desk personnel were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was ok, mostly breads/muffins. They were good. When we go back to Key West, we will probably stay here. Convenient location and quiet.

I am very surprised with this hotel. It's a great price, great location, great pool and wonderfully clean! The staff is also very, very helpful. We have stayed many places in KW but never here at the Best Western Hibiscus. They will do whatever they possibly can to help you.

Myself and my husband and 2 friends stayed here during Fantasy Fest 2015. The place was perfect! Great place to crash after a long day of fun. The rooms were excellent and clean. The breakfast was great and enough to start off a new day of fun. Will definitely be back!

« The only place to stay. »

We've stayed here several times over the past few years. We used to stay somewhere different on every visit to Key West prior to our first visit to Hibiscus. Perfect location at the quiet end of Duval. (one block off of Duval) We party every night at the other end of Duval. For us it's close enough to the action but far away enough. Add clean rooms, nice pool, friendly staff and good value .... obviously our only choice in Key West!

    4
    « Nice »

We stayed here for four nights and enjoyed our stay. The room was large with two queen beds and a good clean bathroom. The cleaning staff were very good and dealt with a problem we had with ants on one day. The pool was a good size and we used it every day. We would stay here on any return to Key West due to it's position and condition.

    2
    « Hibiscus »

Terrible ant and smells issue. Stayed in better rooms for $65. Takes a lot of nerve to charge what they do and take advantage of travelers in such a popular area to visit. Never again will we stay in this hotel. It is clear that Key West turns over visitors many times over during the year but the revenue that is created could be used to clean the hotel up and make a more than miserable experience.

« Great room, great pool, great location »

Hotel is in great location one block over from Duval st. You can walk to the north end in about 30 mins. But it is quiet around the hotel as it is away from the noisy bars. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. We had a king size room just above reception and it was nicely decorated in what I would say is a minimalistic style. Fridge and microwave and good coffee maker. Bag of popcorn was a nice touch. Pool area is not huge but is a good size and is really nice with comfortable sun beds and some very comfortable beds with shades over the top. Surrounded by palm trees makes it very relaxing. Breakfast area is a little small but we didn't have any problems and food was good with waffle makers and fresh fruit. Would definitely recommend to other people and would certainly stay again.

    5
    « Great Value »

Very nice, updated hotel. We were very pleased, and honestly a little surprised with the niceness of it considering it's a Best Western. Definitely a great value since it's on the cheaper end of choices in Key West. Would highly recommend it.

    « lovely holiday »

We loved the beautiful pool and pool area, as well as the spacious and nicely updated rooms. The location of the hotel is in a gorgeous area for walking around the southernmost area where we enjoyed seeing so many beautiful historical structures, yet we were close to Duval St where we walked to restaurants and bars. We enjoyed the friendly people where ever we went, and love the laid back atmosphere in the perfect weather of Key West. It would be impossible to not relax and escape all stresses of life during the holiday we just spent in Key West at the Best Western Hibiscus Hotel.

    « Loved it! »

I was very skeptical about staying at a Best Western from prior experience but our stay was nothing short of amazing. The rooms are huge, probably one of the biggest hotel rooms I've been in. Very clean. The pool area is really nice. Large size pool with cabana areas. Location was great - it was walking distance to everything yet far enough to not hear all the noise. I would definitely recommend this place.

« Great location, friendly service, large rooms »

We extended our vacation and decided to visit Key West without reservations. After checking rates and reviews at other hotels in the Key West downtown area (thank you Tripadvisor), we gave the Best Western a try. Al greeted us in the office, was very pleasant and answered a few questions we had about the area. I wasn't too happy with the initial location of the first room, so Al changed our room, no problem. The room's are very spacious and very clean. It also Included a microwave and refrigerator, along with two sinks (one in the bathroom and one outside of the bathroom ). The location was perfect to walk to many locations in town, but far enough away from the craziness of the shops, bars and restaurants. The pool area was adorable, with plenty of lounge chairs and a few cabana covered lounge areas. Breakfast was great....coffee, juices, waffles, hard boiled eggs, pastries, toast and cereal. We purchased a trolley tour at the desk, and had a few more questions answered about the town. Check out was quick and easy, and the clerk asked if all was fine during our stay. All of the employees were very friendly at the hotel.

Everything was great, the Butterfly Conservatory was awesome, also Sloppy Joes, the Conch Republic, Hogs Breath, Kermit Key Limes pies, Danger Tours for snorkeling (1/2 trip) Botanical gardens, the trolley tours are informative. Hemmiway's house, The Blue Heaven was the best place to eat. Mallory Square, sunset. It was a great trip.

« Great location, even better customer service »

The Best Western Hibiscus is perfectly located. Close enough to walk to all the activity on Duval and far enough away to not hear it at all hours of the night. The hotel is also convenient to the Southernmost Point and has some nice restaurants in walking distance. I also went for a jog and was at Smathers Beach in no time. Free parking and breakfast were also a benefit. We didn't get in the pool but it is beautiful and was busy while we were in the hotel. BUT, the best part of the BW Hibiscus is Marcus. We met Marcus at the front desk and found our Key West guru!! He answered all my questions, made suggestions, and helped to make a reservation for snorkeling. We loved hanging out at the beach at Ft. Zachery Taylor which Marcus thought the kids would like-- he was right, swimming out and watching the fish from the rocks was a highlight. Marcus helped to make our stay much more memorable!!

« Feels like Old Key West »

I would recommend this hotel especially if you want a lower price coupled with a feel that takes you back to what I expect Key West was in the 1950s. While updated (granite countertops, laminate floors, plantation shutters, really comfy chairs) it can't compete with the newer properties in the neighborhood. Still - the price was right and I was charmed by the quirky vibe of this property. The staff (particularly Michael) was great, the breakfast adequate (cold buffet), and I liked the location - a block off the eastern end of Duval. Of course, you have to be willing to walk because all of the key points of interest (Mallory Square, Truman Annex) are on the west side and parking can be challenging. Personally, I found walking around this city one of the best parts of the trip and being on one end of Duval allowed me to walk down one side of the street and back on the other. I found the art galleries and shops more upscale on the east side anyway with more T-shirt and souvenir shops closer to Mallory Square. I found the most amazing art gallery several blocks from the hotel (Gingerbread Square Gallery) but that's another story. The beds and pillows were OK, the pool was nice with lots of options for sitting and lounging, and the property was immaculate. I think it's worth considering.

This is not our first time staying at the Best Western Hibiscus and it will not be our last! It is conveniently located to Duval Street, but not too close to be disturbed by any noise. It is easily within walking distance to anything you would want to do in Key West and that is one of the things we like about it. We park our motorcycle and walk, walk, walk...perfect. The hotel grounds are kept up beautifully, as is the hotel and guest rooms. I would not hesitate to tell any friend or family member to stay there. We will be back!

    « Great hotel find »

This hotel was top-notch--well priced and well reviewed for Key West based on my research. Everything--the exterior and landscaping, the lobby, the pool area (which wasn't just a barren patch of concrete with water in the middle), and the rooms which have two sinks (one outside the bathroom) and hardwood laminate flooring (a nice change of pace and very nice looking). It is not in the heart of Key West action for better and worse--worse being you do the Duval walk (or another parallel street for variety) a few times unless you have bike or car you're driving around.

« Clean, accommodating, great location and beautiful pool »

Came in for 8 days for a wedding. We were on a budget so we looked at all the motels in the area and this was same price as the others.....but by far, way way better than the rest. Pictures didnt do it justice! Got an upgrade on our room free of charge, lobby was neat and the staff were super helpful with tips and coupons. Every inch of the property was clean, housekeeping was nice and trusting (had lots of valuables and nothing touched). Since Key West doesn't have the most amazing beaches (more for fishing and water sports) we spent a lot of time by the pool to my surprise... but i was not disappointed! Pool was big, clean, fresh and cozy with lounge chairs, tables with umbrellas, shade and sunny spots and very comfortable cabanas equipped with pillows too. All patio furniture completely upgraded and beautiful palm trees surrounding. Continental breakfast was fresh and as expected, wifi never failed and was fast. Bed was comfortable and tv had all the good channels. Not one spec on the towels or sheets and room was overall immaculate, smelled good and the a/c blew cold without fail! Property was smoke free and quiet. The location was on the other side of Duval away from the bars and hussle and bussle but still a sort walk to it all, which was perfect for us. We had the best stay. For someone that is a bit of a hotel snob I was thoroughly impressed, would not classify it as a motel, would stay again and highly recommend!

« Reasonably Priced, Excellent Location »

My Girlfriend and myself stayed at the Best Western Hibiscus for 2 nights on our recent visit to Key West. We found the room to be decorated in a tasteful modern style. The room was fairly spacious and bathroom also a decent size. The room was very clean and the property overall is very well maintained. The pool area is very pleasant and has a couple of rows of Cabana's at each end as well as plenty of chairs and loungers. The staff on the reception were very friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. The property is in an excellent location about a 5 minute walk from Duvall street and also about a couple of blocks from the beach. Both my girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here and would definately stay again when we return to Key West.

We booked this at the last minute and were surprised that there was availability but we were pleasantly surprised. Michael at the front desk is wonderful and extremely helpful with dining recommendations. The most important thing was that the room was extremely spacious, clean and crisp!!! The bathroom was updated and the water pressure/shower head was awesome. There is an extra sink/mirror as well right outside of the bathroom. Overall very nicely appointed. Beautiful pool with a hot tub, fabulous comfy furniture and again, glistening. Breakfast was efficient, fresh, complimentary local newspaper and constantly refreshed. Wonderful location for walking all of Duval St. We have already booked our December getaway for our daughters 30th birthday!!!

Great place to stay..Within walking distance to so many sites and restaurants. We found very comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms and bath, complete with fridge, coffeemaker & coffee pods and microwave. In the bath area, there are 2 sinks..one where most motels have it within the room but they also have a sink within the bathroom as well. Perfect when you are sharing the room with a friend and want to have a little more privacy. Wonderful, caring staff made our stay even more enjoyable. I will be staying here again.

A very good place to stay the staff were excellent helpful front desk gentlemen really nice. They took the time to tell us about the island and draw things on the map to fine our way. Great Guys! The only reason I give the sleep quality a very good is I like a soft bed and it was a little hard for me but still slept well.

« Another Great Best Western Property »

I always rate my hotel reviews on 'value for money', so it was a no-brainer giving the Hibiscus 5-stars! We booked a single Sunday night stay but the weekend of our visit Key West was jammed out with the annual Poker Run, so we struggled to get a hotel for less than £150 - but this popped up way WAY cheaper so we snapped it up. What I love about Best Western properties is that (in my experience) they are reliable in terms of quality, but are also free to put their own stamp on the property and as a result they feel so much more personable and individual than the other big chains. The Hibiscus is no exception. Location wise, its a block away from Duval street with all its shops and restaurants, about 4 blocks from the 'Southernmost Point' landmark - so you can walk there - and a lovely 20-or-so minute stroll down Duval street to Mallory Square for the sunset. Parking is free and plentiful. We booked a room with 2-queen beds and it was HUGE with a great big TV and separate bathroom and dressing area, desk, chair, etc. Very clean and tidy and with lovely decor. We requested 2nd floor as opposed to first/ground to avoid as much foot traffic as possible, as the rooms are accessed from outside motel-style. This does mean lugging suitcases up stairs - so beware - but we knew that was the pay-off! Wifi was free and speedy. We used the pool which was lovely and clean, with plenty of sun loungers and also those big comfy sun-beds too - fab. Breakfast was complimentary, with a fairly decent variety on offer, just get down early as the seating area is quite tiny. Staff were all fabulous, and even helped me out when the vending machine swallowed my $3 and I had no more cash in the middle of the night! Great service. Will definitely return if we ever go back to Key West.

« Best of the West - Key West that is! »

Best value on the Island. Rooms are clean, comfortable, attractive with 2 queen beds, a safe, microwave oven, and refrigerator in every room. The outside dressing area is a definite plus as well. Staff are all professional, helpful, cheerful and go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be. The location is great at the south end just off Duval close to many restaurants and a pleasant walk to Mallory Square for sunsets!
