« "Comfy, Cozy. Comfortable and Close" to Plaza! »

We just returned from a four day visit to Kansas City to be with family for the holidays! Searching and checking with Trip Advisor led us they Best Western Plus and we are so happy this Hotel is where we stayed! The employees and every area were great at their jobs, friendly and available! The two ladies who took care of the breakfast area met us with a smile and great food each morning! Plus real eggs and healthy waffles, etc.., The front desk during the day time was great! Our Room was great with comfy bed! (Only suggestions would be to upgrade wifi in hotel and maybe find some way to have a ramp to the back parking lot for rolling luggage) But overall this is a five star hotel! ENJOY! Rick

« Nice location with friendly staff »

This is a nice hotel located well with friendly staff. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was good although a bit limited in choices compared to some other BW Plus hotels I have stayed at. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in KC for a quick visit.

« Great Place to Stay »

This was an excellent hotel to stay in. We found it to be very clean, everything worked just fine, the staff were all extremely helpful and polite. They even have a full, well presented, hot breakfast, which seems to be a rare thing anymore at almost any hotel.

    4
    « Convenient location »

Adult beverage apple cider on election night....nice touch! Beds are unbelievably comfortable. Convenient location. Almost a boutique feel to the hotel. Clean, bathrooms have been refurbished and are nicely done, but the layout is a little awkward, however it is an older hotel.

    « Good choice »

We definitely enjoyed our visit to this hotel. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, and it is in a good location. We were really close to The Plaza and other good attractions in Kansas City. Plus they have a free shuttle that will take you within three miles. That was really convenient for us. I would recommend it to anyone and I would stay again.

« Cross Country Road Trip »

We were in room 120, there was a smell - but we liked the room, so didn't mention it until we left. Like mildew, mold, water. Once settled in you didn't notice it. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but there is a very convenient gas station/convenience store next door. We were thrilled with our stay! The customer service was incredible, we felt like family. Our dog Fin, received a toy and snacks when we arrived, and there were cookies we could help ourselves to anytime. The breakfast host, held onto Fin leash while we grabbed something to go. The night manager called us when he started barking, and kept him at the front desk til we returned. He became part of their family! Our first morning there were fritatta's - a very nice, home baked option. It was my husbands birthday, so he felt extra special. Lovely outside area with yard for sitting or taking your dog. The whole place had a charm about it, which made up for the other minor things. Shout out to Elisabeth - who helped with our dog (twice) - and was amazing, we'd take her home any day.

    « Better than expected »

This hotel was much nicer than we expected. The people who worked there were very nice. The breakfast was free and fine. We chose it for its proximity to the plaza and it was about half the price of hotels just a couple blocks closer. The outside is very cool and doesn't feel like the middle of the city.

    « Nice find! »

Glad we tried the Seville Plaza. The rooms are renovated and are well done. The breakfast goes beyond the normal "soggy egg fare" and is quite nice. The staff is friendly. The lobby is to be renovated later this year. The location is close to both the Plaza and Westport. Good job...we'll be back.

    « Hidden Gem »

Great staff with top flight customer service. Terrific breakfast. Rooms very nice and clean. Internet access fast. From outside you would never guess that this small somewwhat older looking hotel with need for a new paint job would be such a great choice and value.

« Will stay again when in the area »

We recently stayed at the BW and I will stay again if we are back in the area. The lady who checked us in was excellent (wish I could remember her name). We asked for directions and although she didn't know she pulled it up on her computer and printed them out for us. We stayed for three nights and each time she saw us she remembered us. She even pulled a bunch of travel guides and gave them to us as we passed through the lobby one evening. Decent breakfast in the morning. Although a little more variety would have been nice, they serve the same things every day. After three mornings get tired of the same thing. Rooms were very comfortable and quiet, which is a must for me as I am a light sleeper and tend to spend many sleepless nights in hotels due to the noise. Hotels has an excellent location - although a little hard to spot at night - we drove right by. The only reason I did not give this hotel a 5 star is although the hotel has a shuttle it seems it is only at certain times. Both nights we wanted to take it for supper we were told we had to wait 45 minutes. This seems ridiculous - if the shuttle is there why do we need to wait? Also, it only has certain drop points I guess - won't necessarily take you directly where you want to go. The one evening the shuttle driver heard us talking and did end up taking us right away and even drove us directly where we wanted to go. He was quiet friendly and helpful. The younger girl working the front desk seemed more interested in chatting with other employees than helping.

« Great Location but Mixed Feelings »

Long weekend trip with family to KC to see museums and see the city. We haven't been to KC in many years and we were impressed with the beautiful downtown area. We chose this hotel based on the glowing reviews and our good experience with Best Western. Things we liked: Location (close to everything), price, good breakfast, decor of lobby and outdoor seating out back, and ease of check in. Room was also clean. The pros certainly outweigh the cons. Some things we wish were better or changed: bathroom has limited counter area and a bit dark (could use additional light). Quite a bit of noise from guests and sirens, helicopters. Bigger complaint are smokers. There is a lovely area outside to sit and relax but most everyone smoked. Wish Best Western would eliminate smoking outdoors in seating areas. Cigars are really gross. Couple had two dogs and they let them on the furniture. Dogs scratched the cushions and barked at everyone. Owners had no control over dogs. All they did was yell at them and the dogs never obeyed. Parking is tight but you can usually find a spot. Breakfast area small but doable. Very nice workers but you MUST have your breakfast card to turn in. Never had to do that and the first day we forgot and the experience was embarrassing and off- putting. Are there that many people wandering in to steal a free breakfast? We just felt really uncomfortable about that. There is a free shuttle service but we didn't use it. There are so many things to do in KC. I'd certainly encourage people to visit and stay at Best Western. Eliminate smoking out back and we will return soon!!

« Do not miss this experience! »

The entrance was lovely. The front desk, Elizabeth, was so helpful. Our dog was welcomed and given a welcome gift. Elizabeth took care to explain where to park, where to walk the dog, when breakfast would be available, etc. The lobby is lovely. The floral arrangement rivals those at our hotel in NYC. We checked out and were five minutes from the hotel when my husband's phone rang. A sweep of our room found his iPad. This would have been such a problem as we were on our way to Indianapolis and then upstate NY. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Everything about this hotel was wonderful.

    « Excellent hotel »

Very close to Center, Union Station, and in close proximity to new IKEA. Beautiful hotel with secluded patio to enjoy. Rooms were clean and best of all very quiet. Staff was helpful, considerate of our needs. A+ to them. A wonderful hotel at a reasonable price.

    « A wonderful birthday experience »

Just a lovely hotel with a bit of a residence feeling with a porch and chairs outside with flowers and grass all over. Wonderful staff-attentive and prompt. Breakfast was uneventful. Could use some gluten free breads. Lighting in bathroom was bad.

« Great Experience at the Seville Plaza Hotel! »

I've been a fan of the Best Western hotels ever since a travel agent, when reserving a Best Western hotel for me in Italy, explained that this chain finds the best locations! The Best Western Plus Seville Plaza Hotel was not only conveniently located near Kansas City's bustling plaza area, but the quality of service was unsurpassed. Joseph and Ramon, managers who run the front desk, are hospitable, friendly, courteous, polite....they repeatedly went over their way to insure my stay was near-perfect. The complimentary breakfast includes a wide variety of hot and cold foods - waffles, eggs, hash browns, washed apples, muffins, bagels...with great attention to the display and quality. Although the plaza district is within walking distance, Gary, the pleasant shuttle driver, will deliver you there or within a reasonable distance on weekends. He, too, was very personable. This is a charming, four-story hotel with comfortable beds and, as mentioned, a caring and polite staff. My stay was incredible and I will return!

« GREAT Hotel and Location »

We have stayed at this hotel several times and just love it. It's close to some major shopping--specifically a huge Brighton store and some wonderful Mexican food, Chuey's! It's also close by to some wonderful art museums; Hallmark Visitor's Center is just down the street--a "do not miss" tourist place. The breakfast area is always kept clean and tidy. The breakfast foods were always fresh and delicious-looking. Our room was clean and everything worked like they should. Great shower with great water pressure. The front desk clerk, Ramon, was there each time we stayed, and he is just so friendly and full of personality. Can't say enough nice things about this Best Western Plus hotel.

    5
    « Wonderful Find »

If you are looking for a very nice stay for a good price, this is your hotel. Great location in a great walking city. Restaurants and shopping near by. Great parks. Breakfast was very nice. Even had a welcoming fire in the outside fire pit area. Just a very nice overall stay. Also offer shuttle service.

    5
« Always like coming home! »

We come to Kansas City for concerts and to visit the Plaza and I would not consider another hotel. The shuttle service makes our trip so much more relaxing and we are always treated like returning friends. The location is perfect and the rooms are comfortable and the staff is always so eager to please. I know what I am going to get every time I come here because people go out of their way to make the experience pleasant and fun.

    « It's still hospitality »

I've been staying here on-and-off for a lot of years and will continue to when the hotel choice is mine. sometimes meetings will have you stay another place, but when I can choose, it'll be here. We were in KC for fun stuff and I needed a couple of rooms. HINT: reserve early because this is a smaller property and will fill quickly. I made my reservations via phone instead of internet. The property is pretty small...almost a boutique hotel. The rooms are comfortable, convenient and well appointed. Everything was clean and worked. Slept like a rock, so I guess the beds are pretty good. When we checked in they had complimentary margaritas which took the edge right off of the 3-hour drive. We planned to go to the Midland Theatre and I asked the man checking us in about parking. Guess what? They have a shuttle to take their guests to nearby events. We didn't have to worry about parking or a ride back. Mr. Hinsen at the desk was also our driver. Said his family was heavy into the hospitality industry. It showed. We thought he must have been the hotel owner, but he just said it was a great place to work at something he loved. Hey, bosses, give Mr. Hinsen a raise! We enjoyed everything about the place and will keep it at the top of our KC hotel list.

« Great Location downtown and beautiful outdoor patio area »

Lots of plus's here...Tall enough showerhead for my 6'5" husband; Large desk area; Large Fridge; Nice bedding, Friendly and attentive staff; Bathroom was large, updated and well laid out; Breakfast serving area is a little crowded, but the quality of the food and the outdoor patio seating option far outweighed the tight quarters in the serving area.

    « Pleasant surprise »

I did price comparison to find good quality for a lower price. I was uncertain about what I would find in this busy part of KC but was pleasantly surprised at the clean, quality rooms. My room faced the road - but, other than the occasional siren, was quiet. I would come here again.

    5
    « Fantastic!! »

Lovely hotel with a friendly, wonderfully unique staff. The room was clean and super comfortable. Nicely decorated and we really enjoyed sitting in the courtyard sipping on a complimentary margarita. Very Charming place and we will definitely stay again.

« Stay at Best Western Seville »

Nice people, great location near the Plaza, great shopping. I got the room with the whirlpool and it was great. They could ease up on the room spray that was a bit strong and wouldn't go away, it gave me a headache. But everything else was good.

    5
    « Wonderful Experience »

I had to come to KC on a medical emergency regarding one of my family members. The hotel is across the street from St. Luke's and extremely convenient. All of the staff was excellent, especially Beverly, who checked us in. The breakfast was amazing. I will definitely stay here again when I am in town.

    4
« Best place when visiting my daughter »

I have stayed here several times. My daughter attends KCAI and it's the closest hotel. Very convenient to school. Great breakfast, nice size rooms with queen beds instead of doubles, hard to find in KC! Clean and affordable, fills up fast. Parking is a pain, but it is everywhere in KC

    3
« Nice staff good location »

Lovely staff and a good location make this worth the overpriced rooms. The breakfast is plentiful but not good quality. There is a waffle making machine though! The bed is comfy but the linen was a bit on the tatty side which was off-putting.

    3
« Gets the Job Done »

We stayed here for a night- breakfast staff was very friendly, front desk was pretty helpful. Room was okay, if you're traveling with the pet be aware that the rooms echo- we could here our dogs barking from the breakfast area.

    4
« Great lower cost option for the plaza »

This hotel is walking distance from the plaza. If you are looking for a lower cost option this is a good pick! Beware, this hotel has no pool. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable and average in terms of spaciousness. The bathroom was clean, updated fixtures. Beds were comfortable. There is a very nice armoire in the room to store your luggage and belongings if you like to keep your room tidy! You are provided tickets for breakfast, 2 per room. Sometimes they collect them and sometimes they don't. Breakfast is good, nice selection of hot foods (Eggs, waffles, potatoes) cereals, bananas, apples, juice, coffee. Nice patio out back to relax. Parking can be an issue when the hotel is full.

    « Nice Hotel »

The Best Western Seville on Main Street in Kansas City, Missouri is the only place we stay when we travel to Kansas City for doctor appointments. They are very accommodating and the rooms are always clean. Check in and Check out are quick and effortless and their breakfast is delicious, always warm, and filling. I would highly recommend the Best Western Seville. It is close to St. Luke's hospital and doctor offices and also close to shopping, food, and entertainment.

    3
    « Satisfactory hotel »

Clean, tidy, and reasonably price is how to best describe this hotel. Nothing wrong but basic. However in saying this the beds were extremely comfortable. Wifi-excellent, hair dryer, iron, coffee machine and fridge in room. Breakfast basic (included)for those who just want a quick bite to eat. ( Starbucks just in walking distance or numerous restaurants) Parking available -free and pets welcome. Hotel within walking distance to the Plaza and Art institute.

    « Nice hotel »

We stayed here for two nights. It's in a nice neighborhood and close to local attractions. They have a very nice patio out back. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was very nice and friendly. The breakfast was good. They also have grab and go bags if you need to leave early before breakfast is served.

    4
    « Nice staff »

This hotel has very nice staff, convenient shuttle which travels within 3 mile radius, they need to creat Arrowhead shuttle due to large number of Chiefs fans who stay here. Only complaint was extremely low water pressure in shower. Area is close to shopping, arts and excellent restaurants.

    5
« My best stay at BW Seville Plaza »

This was one of the best stay I enjoy when I am away from home. Friendliest staff I thank each and every one to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable too. Enjoyed Margaritas on Tuesday evening was a great experience too. I thank Miss Elizabeth, Ramon, Joseph and Mr Charlie to make my stay so comfortable that I have to come back again and again..... My regards to your breakfast server didnt catch her name but very polite and great lady she even opened up the breakfast rooms door earlier for me and also the Jalapeno and onion filled cakes were a great new experience too.

    5
« Great value trip to KC »

This hotel is a great value and has a great location to allow trips downtown or to the Plaza and south. Adequate parking in front or back. Good, full breakfast and decent workout room. Rooms are newly updated.

    5
« Nice Stay for Two »

My boyfriend and I only stayed for one night, but the facilities and our room were clean and quiet, and the people working there were pleasant. Parking in front is very limited, but the additional parking lot around back was adequate. The overall location of the hotel is fine enough, however, with the hotel being more downtown, I'd suggest planning your traveling around rush hours, especially around 5pm during the week. The traffic can get pretty congested. My only criticism is that the breakfast area is pretty small with only two long tables to sit at. The breakfast was hot and fresh, though, so we didn't mind squeezing in with another group. We would definitely stay here again.

    3
« A surprisingly disappointing Best Western Plu »

The personnel were first-rate. The location is wonderful. The property, though tired and old, is OK. But I have two major criticisms: I awoke very sore and unrested because of the poor mattress, and the breakfast area is very sub-par. The food at breakfast was quite acceptable, but it is obvious the hotel tried to turn an unsuitable area into the breakfast room. The problem is it seats about eight. When forty guests show up about the same time, bedlam ensues. There is not enough room to navigate the offerings, and then there is no place to sit and eat. Worst of all, however, was the mattress. I awoke stiff and tired all over, and during the night the fitted sheets all came loose, leaving me with a tangled mess. Such a shame, because the hotel is very well-located, within walking distance of Country Club Plaza. Sadly, we won't be returning.

    4
« Quait hotel with nice service »

property is a little dated and over painted, but the place is well maintained, the back courtyard and parking are nice. the staff is very friendly and this property is much nicer if you prefer to be away from kids and crowds

    4
« Nice Place new Plaza »

Hotel is nice and price was decent (comapred to others in Downtown OC). Need to be aware that location is in transition zone between very nice Plaza sites and the not so nice part of downtown just to the north. Rooms are nice and breakfast was good but space for seating is limited. Staff was not ready for a busy morning so coffee was slow to be refilled and some of the food ran out. We stayed until the end of breakfast and had a wonderful time with some other travelers so the delays were worth it and finally had plenty of coffee. Parking is limited in front but we were able to find a place even when we returned late in the evening from our outing. Staff on our arrival acted busy although no one else was checking in. They were not friendly but we did get a nice quiet room so it was fine and a few smiles would help! Staff was great on c heck out!

    5
« A regular stop for us in Kansas City »

Our daughter goes to college nearby and we have stayed at the hotel since her first campus visit over 3 years ago. The staff is super (particulary Roman at the front desk who always seems genuinely glad to see us) and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast has a great variety of food and is served for extended hours on weekends which is nice if you're sleeping in. Parking can get a bit challenging during busy times but we've never been left without a spot. The location is not just convenient for her school, but it's only 5 minutes away from the lovely Country Club Plaza area - and hotels there are far more expensive. This hotel is our "home away from home" when spending time in Kansas City and we always look forward to returning.

    5
    « Beautifully kept property »

We are just finishing up a week long trip in which we've stayed in 7 different hotels. This one was lovely, the beds felt great and the linens were fresh. Nicely appointed bathroom; shame about the tiles being damaged. Not much of a view from where we were on the third floor. The breakfast room was fabulous - fantastic selection and a comfortable place to eat.

  • 2
    « Kinda OK »

Stayed here on a very busy night. Our room was a little worn, as it was with the whole place. Our room was not as clean as it could be.The room had a bug problem. We saw a spider and we had bites. We did alert the hotel, and did not get a response beyond they'll relay the problem to the mgr. At a later date I was informed they checked and found nothing. We had bites

    5
« Our new go-to place in KCMO! »

This was our first time staying at the Best Western Seville Plaza. We've been looking for a home base when we visit Kansas City. And we found here. Wonderful accommodations; our room was clean and very quiet, comfy bed, parking was easy and the location can't be beat. But there's a desk clerk here who is the best in the business. Friendly, always greeted you by name, extremely helpful in every regard. The hotel is great, but this gentleman, Ramon Hinson, sealed the deal for us. This is where we'll stay. If he could train others to provide service like he does, Best Western would benefit greatly. I hope they treat him well or I think another hotel will come in and snag him. He's simply the best. A treasure for sure. In looking through other reviews here, it seems many others agree.

    5
    « Amazing stay!! »

The hotel was phenomenal from the start to finish. Raymon at the front desk was an incredible employee. He was friendly and attentive. He remembered us on every return, asked what we did and how we liked it. He set us up with a shuttle for an evening concert which saved us so much time and money. The room was clean and cool. The beds were so comfortable and each had 5 pillows. The breakfast was incredible. They had monkey bread!!! We enjoyed our stay and would go back again.

    5
    « Excellent staff »

My boyfriend and I stayed here in quick getaway to see a Royals game. We were greeted by Ramon at the front desk and he said I had booked a double queen room. I didn't mean to so he upgraded us to a king with a hot tub. He was honestly the nicest, most personable hotel staff member I have ever met. He went above and beyond to make our stay awesome. He greeted us every time we saw him and suggested things we could do in the area. I would highly recommend staying here. The room was great and the breakfast was also amazing.

    4
« Superlative value for location »

We stayed two nights here for the Country Club Plaza walkabout. This is an aging property but well maintained by a cheerful, efficient staff. Breakfast is superb and the dining area rigorously cleaned during use. Eating on clean tables is a blessing! There is some wear and tear visible, but this does not detract. Parking is excellent. Security is comforting. Book this hotel for superlative value. Great location, scrupulous staff, reasonable amenities.

    5
« Beautiful hotel, excellent staff, great place »

Wonderful hotel in a wonderful part of a wonderful city. Excellent staff and clean rooms. Very comfortable bed and the breakfast was awesome. Would definitely stay there again and recommend this place to anyone.

    5
    « Great Stay »

A lovely hotel located between Crown Center/Union Station and the Country Club Plaza. Sitting in the courtyard in the back of the hotel, one would not know he/she was in the middle of a city except for the traffic noise. A varied breakfast includes yogurt, blueberry waffles, fruit, cereal, pastry, biscuits and gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs, 3 choices of juice, various teas, and coffee.

    3
    « Not a Plus »

We have stayed at three different BW Plus hotels this summer, and this one is definitely not a plus. The location is great, near the Country Plaza, and there is bus service very close at hand, but the immediate area around the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. The hotel itself is dated, not up to the Plus category at all, while one can hear conversation from the room next door. Breakfast was good, although not much seating area, and front desk staff friendly and helpful.

    5
« Great Place To Stay Close To Plaza & Crown Center »

Found this property were attractive, very clean, with excellent staff. It's benefit is that it's centrally located within the Kansas City Metro. Whether your in Kansas City for business or pleasure you will find the Best Western Seville Plaza Hotel a gem of a find. An added bonus is their breakfast which has something for everyone.

    2
« Not safe to walk pets around this area »

I was moving across country and had a large Penske truck that I couldn't maneuver into the small parking lot. I also didn't realize I was booking a hotel in a run down part of town. I had two dogs that I needed to walk in morning and evening and didn't feel the least bit comfortable doing so. I called and asked to cancel my reservation but they held me to their 24hr cancellation policy which I would understand had the hotel been full but it was not. I called again twice more to speak with management and finally was forgiven and refund was processed. Please be advised that while the hotel itself may be cute- the area is dangerous for a single female and parking situation should also be well noted!

« Pleasant Bargain Close to KC Attractions »

An older, well maintained and upgraded, property close to major Kansas City attractions. Pleasant, helpful staff. Above average "free" breakfast offerings. Uniquely landscaped, secluded and very pleasant outdoor sitting area. A top property among its peers, and one to which we return when in the KC area.

    5
    « Summer Road Trip »

Located near a very large shopping area with multiple restaurants including the Cheesecake Factory (enter this at your own risk if you're trying to diet - it won't work). The breakfast area was neat and tidy and there were many options. The only drawback was the weather (hot and humid), but this wasn't the fault of the Hotel or the city.

    4
« Great value, Friendly staff »

I've never written a review for a hotel, but I think this Best Western deserves one. My family and I decided to take a last minute mini-vacation and booked a room the day before we left. I'm not fancy or picky and see a hotel as a place to shower and sleep. That being said, I do want a clean, safe place for my family. I was not disappointed. There was only one person at the front desk when we arrived who was juggling phones and check-ins, but managed to smile through it all. Our room was clean and my kids were very excited about all of the pillows on the beds. The shower did its job well and I fell in love with the toiletries. I will be purchasing them to use in my own bathroom soon. Everything we had planned to see was a very short distance. We will definitely be staying again on our next trip to Kansas City!

« Homey, friendly and great location right off Plaza »

Our family of four had a really nice three night stay here this summer. The staff was friendly and helpful ... the breakfasts were complimentary -- and different every morning (eggs with chorizo our final morning was my favorite) ... and the lobby spills into a Spanish architecture back patio that was a nice place to unwind in the evenings. Parking was free, and the location was great. This is a really GREAT value for being a block off the Plaza. The kids were mildly disappointed there is no pool, but that said, I would gladly return.

    3
    « ok stay »

For the most part it was an ok stay. The motel was in a good location for us to get where we needed to go. The rooms were clean enough but the bed was not need to be getting new mattresses in the rooms. The breakfast was great and the shuttle was great and the driver very nice.

Clean, hospitable, large room, great free breakfast and reasonable price. Recommended! We enjoyed our stay. Easy access to the city. So much to do in the city. The outside patio was a little bonus. Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

« great location and affordable »

We booked this based upon price. And then discovered it was in a great location for walking and transit. We did a 4 day stay in KC without a rental car. The Plaza area is an easy 15 minute walk southwest through a little park. Pennsylvania Ave hotspot in Westport is a 10 minute walk northwest. The Main street bus stop was 2 buildings away ($3 all day pass). The place was clean and quiet (we had a room not facing Main street). A simple breakfast was included. On our first day they had a free margarita slushy machine set up.

Looking for a place just outside city limits. This place while clean was old and near a not so good neighborhood, Didn't feel my car was safe. The place was clean and nicely remodeled. No pool or hot tub. Staff was friendly. The price was too high for the value.

« Friendly staff; wonderful stay! »

We returned for a 2nd time because we enjoyed it so much last year. Great location near the Plaza. Friendly welcome by staff when we arrived. Elevator in the lobby helped us easily get our bags to the 2nd floor. Clean room with no smell of cover up air freshener. Great bed; plump towels. Breakfast variety was great with a number of hot selections, waffle maker, cereal, yogurt, fruit. Staff was there to help me make oatmeal in the microwave. The long community table encouraged us to meet other guests. Free coffee is always available (unlike a nearby hotel, which has a restaurant for breakfast, even for a simple cup of coffee). You may also eat breakfast on the back patio or lounge there on nice evenings. There is some parking in front, but most is in the back. On this busy holiday weekend, it was not easy to find a space in back, but we managed. No cost to park. Although the cost was quite reasonable, we felt we were staying in one of the more upscale hotels in the area. We will be back! Our favorite restaurant for dinner not far away is Aixois, a French bistro, 251 E 55th St.

    « Great value! »

Nothing bad to say about this place. Very accessible to the plaza, crowne center, and downtown. Chose this place due to a great price and we were very satisfied with our stay. Staff was very friendly. Outdoor eating area for the free breakfast is great and the room was about what you'd expect from an above average Best Western. We would definitely stay here again.

    « Great Place »

The hotel was very close and easy to get to down town. The room I had was very clean and spacious. All of the staff from the front desk clerks to the house keeping staff were very friendly. They do NOT charge for parking, but the only thing that was a problem was finding a place to park, The clerk did say that if the lot in front and back are full you can park in the lot next door with no problem. You just have to move you car by 10:00 am.

    « Pretty Spanish bargain »

My favorite reviews to write are when a property overdelivers on expectations. the Seville definitely succeeds. I honestly booked this entirely based on price--we were making a last-minute trip to attend a concert & Royals game, and for some reason rates were extra-high at all my usual favorite KC hotels. the Seville rate was roughly half of other hotels near Country Club Plaza. Not having stayed at Best Western Plus properties, I expected very little, but was pleasantly surprised with my 3-night stay. PUBLIC SPACES: The property has small Spanish details throughout the public spaces (apropos the Country Club neighborhood), like handpainted tile in the lobby and pretty ironwork on the front gates. There space behind the hotel has a fairly steep hill up to a second, larger parking lot. But the outdoor space has gorgeous landscaping, several small wrought-iron seating groupings, and a privacy barrier to the adjacent lot, making it feel like a tiny private garden. The hallways did have the slightly funky smell that others have mentioned, but it was only in the halls--not the guestroom. GUEST ROOM: We had a two queen room. It was just fine. Not wildly luxurious, but very clean and well-maintained: very good bed linens with a variety of pillows, large and soft towels, decent water pressure. Our room was at the back & side of the building, and overlooked the QuikTrip next door, but there were lots of mature trees so the view was primarily foliage and we were spared any street noise. I have no idea why most newer/upscale/boutique properties have done away with any place to unpack your clothes (who wants to literally live out of a suitcase?!) and was happy to find the Seville had both a wardrobe and a dresser available, as well as a small fridge. The beds were firm and seemed newish, and the blackout drapes did their job admirably. STAFF: Everyone seemed pleasant, and Ramon in particular was exceptionally warm and helpful in getting us settled into a room even when we arrived early for check-in. FOOD: The complimentary breakfast was fine. One morning we had the decadent monkey bread, and there were always a couple of hot entrees plus a waffle maker, along with four cold cereals and an array of breads. Hard to eat anything very healthy, though; didn't see any oatmeal or hardboiled eggs, which are my hotel breakfast staples. PARKING: Parking is free with your displayed permit to be hung from your mirror. There's a small front lot right on Main which is wildly convenient if you can nab a spot (there are maybe 16?), and a larger lot that's easily accessible from the rear, but involves a steep flight of stairs. We used both lots throughout our stay, but on the last night returned very late after a concert and found no spots in either lot. Didn't appreciate having to walk 2+ blocks on dark and unfamiliar streets. If your parking is limited it's crucial to enforce the guest-only rules and I wish they did so. The next morning had to walk the same 2+ blocks at 5:30 am and drive back to the lobby to get luggage. Inconvenient. I considered knocking one star off my review for the parking troubles, but I imagine it's only a problem when it's fully booked with extra cars, so I'll chalk it up to my own back luck and late hours. In short, it's an older property and not luxurious, but it has plenty of personality and is well-maintained, well-staffed, and offers an excellent stay for the cost.

Hotel was very comfortable, clean and friendly. Easy to get to and great parking - free. Walking distance to Country Club Plaza. We had a great time during our visit and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « Decent hotel »

I stayed with my two daughters for one night. We arrived late and there was no parking in regular lots do we used the overflow parking next door. Entrance to the hotel off the street is difficult to navigate. The staff checking us in was very nice and had our room ready. The room was well kept and comfortable. Definitely a little older, but still nice. The downsides: very thin walls so we could hear everything our neighbors were saying; our room faced the street and there was a lot of loud traffic. It is also near a hospital so several sirens. This made it extremely difficult to sleep. The curtains on the window were directly above the air conditioning and allowed lots of light in when the sun came up. The shower was scalding hot unless you barely turned it on. Breakfast was pretty basic but had good choices. Very limited seating so lots of people left and took food to eat in their room. The hotel was ok but it would not be my choice to stay at this location again.

    « great place overall »

for this area of town this is a quaint, clean, adequate place. all staff were helpful, breakfast was above average, Westport within walking distance, rooms and lobby smelled nice and clean, rooms were good size, parking was convenient. If this area of town is near where you need to be, don't hesitate to stay here!

« Nice hotel good price »

Older, smaller hotel, but nice. Within walking distance of the Plaza and Westport and art museum. 15 min drive to Starlight theater. All workers were nice and friendly. Nice outdoor seating area. Parking on site. Only downside was we could hear through the walls. Luckily, no one was talking next door when we were sleeping. We only heard them in the evening.

« Good hotel near Country Club Plaza. »

We stopped for 1 night to catch a concert at Starlight Theater. The front desk people were just ok, not welcoming when you first walked in or approached, I usually initiated the conversation. The breakfast bar was good, the lady running it was also good and initiated conversation and was helpful. Our room was fine, clean and in good condition. We found parking in the front lot, you are in an urban area and we were approached by a panhandler. Overall I'm so so on this hotel, would consider staying again depending on price and reason for my visit, would also consider other hotels in the area.

    « 2 night stay »

Hotel is dated. Parking lot in front of building is very tiny forcing most people to drive around block and park in back. Would have been okay had it not rained hard, washing mud all over sidewalks. Sidewalks were also under water, next morning staff tried hard to clean up. Staff friendly, breakfast food okay, limited seating. bed was amazing, had a hot tub room, lots of towels.

« Great hotel and GREAT service »

This hotel is centrally located, close to shopping, walking distance to the Plaza for shopping and great restaurants, and reasonably price. The staff is one of the key reasons we stay here. They are fun to talk with, polite, helpful and always in good spirits. Makes for an amazing experience.

Had a great visit with our son and his wife. Your hotel is not far from where they live and right in the swing on things. We love the variety on the breakfast menu. Also free parking . Fresh flowers arrangement in the lobby. Very comfortable sleeping .

« Spanish look and very comfortable »

We stayed here for a church conference. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. That is what I look for. We had to travel to the convention center but it was a straight shot downtown. The staff was very helpful. The seating area in the breakfast area is small but there are tables in the lobby and on an outside terrace. We enjoyed breakfast outside our first morning there.

« Nice Hotel in a Great Location »

What a nice discovery! Located in the downtown area and close to the "Park" area of nice restaurants, it was perfect. Great staff, comfy beds, thirsty towels, etc. Breakfast was nice, with a variety of foods. At first we thought there were just two tables, but then we saw more around the lobby. But THEN we saw a beautiful outdoor patio with even more seating. It was just lovely. They have gone out of their way to make a nice hotel at an affordable price!

Nice hotel within walking distance of attractions and neighborhood with lots of restaurants. Bus stop at corner if you want to venture further. Central location in Kansas City and we felt safe walking around in the evening. Great hot breakfast daily with a variety of options that change. Fruit and muffins available any time.

« Great stay for college group! Ramone rocks.... »

Brought a group of college students to Kansas City to attend a play. From the moment I contacted Best Western Seville Plaza, I was impressed. Booking was easy and Ramone was super responsive to all of my questions and concerns. The hotel is in a great location, we walked to the Kemper Museum. All the staff were extremely helpful and kind. Full breakfast-the students greatly appreciated and said it was great. Beds were wonderful-high quality sheets and towels. Every one of my students said their rooms were fantastic and they loved everything about the hotel. Thank you Best Western Seville for a great trip!

« Nice folks, nice hotel »

Aside from a few minor housekeeping issues, our room was good. Quiet, even though we were right next to the ice machine and vending machines. My family was able to eat a little breakfast before heading out, which was much appreciated.

« Room okay but amenities not so much »

We booked this hotel because tripadvisor give it a good rating. Unfortunately, we don't agree with the majority. The air and bath vents were way to noisy. When I asked about breakfast, I was told the management didn'the feel it was something they needed to do. Well, staying here again is something I don'the need to do.

    4
    « Handy location »

This hotel is well located with a main bus stop right outside. It was about a 10 minute ride to the Crown Centre. There is a range of good brew-bar type eateries about 12 minutes walk away, and a service station next door if you are desperate for any essentials. Room was large and clean, and while breakfasts are a semi-communal experience there is plenty to eat and enough room too. The staff were helpful and pleasant. Only concern was the noise of the air-con at night - not being used to it, we were probably over-sensitive, but did find it intrusive at times - otherwise a great place to stay.

    4
    « Good location. »

Clean hotel room. The carpet was a little worn. Breakfast was great! The outdoor patio was a nice place to eat breakfast. The location was convenient to The Plaza. We had a family of four, and we all enjoyed our stay.

    5
    « Business Location »

The rooms have good facilities to conduct business. Walking distance to good restaurants. Area is safe. The biggest complaint is parking locations. Parking rear of the hotel is inadequate for carrying luggage.

« Very friendly staff, well located »

The rooms were very clean, staff very friendly, breakfast was always fresh, back parking lot was convenient. The rooms were quiet, did not hear much of the other people in hotel. Except for early morning ice machine filling of a cooler.

« Clean, nice decor and nice staff. »

We had time between a wedding and the reception, so we went to our hotel before check in time. Our room wasn't ready, which we expected. We sat in the comfortable lobby to wait. In a few minutes, Mr. Hinson, at the front desk let us know he had asked the staff to clean the room as soon as possible, and it was now ready for us. Nice man. Lovely decor, close to Country Club Plaza, clean and comfortable room. Would stay again.

    3
    « Good Location/Average Everything Else »

The staff was very helpful when I needed jumper cables for my dead car battery. Lobby has virtually no comfortable/quiet sitting area like most hotels have. Night clerk lady was not engaging at all...her and the van driver were checking her fake nails and were too busy to say hi to or nicely engage with a customer who approached the desk.

« My go-to place whenever I am in KC... »

I am a disabled veteran, which makes travel challenging... so it si very important that I plan my travel around my mobility issues. This is my second time at this hotel... my first time was way back in 2001, and I was satisfied enough to want to return... My bus from Omaha arrived in KC way early, and I was fully prepared to wait until check-in time... but Charlie and Ramon saw their way through to find me a room and check me in early--at 10 AM!! And Ruth was so helpful in bringing me breakfast items so I did not have to walk to get them... the staff was kind enough to provide a microwave for me, and since my room was not an accessible room, they also provided a shower chair, which really made bathing easier. Breakfast was a mix of cold and hot items... the hot items were well-prepared and plentiful... scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, make-it-yourself waffles, and yogurt were my preferred items...and Ruth was helpful as always, assisting me in obtaining what I needed. The Wi-Fi worked well, my king bed was quite comfortable, and the fridge was large enough to hold all my groceries. There was a QuikTrip convenience store right next door, and if I needed anything else, Main Street has frequent city bus service so I could reach other businesses. The only problem I had was the toilet overflowed in my room--the staff came quickly and helped me move to a room down the hall. The ice machine was conveniently located just down the hall---interestingly enough, you had to insert your room key to obtain the ice. My only small complaints?? The hotel has no guest laundry, and the hotel shuttle only runs certain hours on certain days. But I was quite satisfied with my stay, and the service...once again, Ramon, Charlie and Ruth went above and beyond in helping me throughout my stay. This hotel will be my hotel of choice whenever I travel to Kansas City!

« Our new home away from home »

We had been using the Holiday Inn Express in Westport which became the 816 hotel as our go-to when visiting Kansas City. However, due to the new management of the 816 Hotel, prices went up and booking got more difficult. So, we happened to stay at the Best Western Seville on our last trip. With the free shuttle on the weekends, we had no trouble getting to Westport and back. Also, they offer a great free breakfast. And the best part for us, was they have a small courtyard where we can just relax outside and have a beverage before venturing out for the night. Needless, to say we have cancelled all of our 816 reservations and are now booking with the Best Western. We find the rooms are just as nice, with an added benefit of a refrigerator in every room. Great staff and great Hotel.

« Best place is BEST WESTERN SEVILLE PLAZA, KC »

Great place and great people to stay with I highly recommend that if you are in the area this is the best place to stay. Easy access to lots of eatery places and all variety of food is available to your satisfaction. Imagine I have been turned down twice as there was no room available for CLC clients..... So I have to stay in a different motel even as of this writing.

« Good choice when staying in Kansas City »

This is really a good choice when visiting Kansas City. This Best Western in Sevilla style is relatively small and has a nice atmosphere. It is well maintained, quiet and is a few blocks from the Plaza and about 5-10 miles from downtown just following Main St. In the back there is a small garden and parking is free. Personnel is friendly and helpful. Rooms are excellent with a good bed, shower, microwave, fridge, excellent free WiFi and a Keurig coffeemaker. We had a wirlpool room which is a nice extra. Price/quality is good too. Best choose a room facing the quiet garden, we did (room 410). There is a free breakfast but this is the only minor point. It is very basic and could be much better.

    5
« CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THROUGH THE ROOF! »

I was a very difficult guest...a real pain in the you know what. I mean, I was nice and all, but I changed my reservation several times over a couple of days and Ramon at the front desk helped me each time. He was so patient, pleasant, and helpful. A woman named Ronnie, who was at the desk with him, was also extremely accommodating. Additionally, the breakfast was very tasty which is rare for me to say as a vegetarian, but there were lots of veg options in addition to the meat options. This will be my regular hotel when I come through town again.

    4
    « Easy, walkable, clean »

We only stayed one night after a long road trip. Parking is fairly easy (you probably want to go to the back lot). Staff was friendly and everything was clean. They were hauling in some new furniture for rooms when we arrived - sprucing up the place a bit. They serve a decent free hot breakfast as well. We liked it because it was within walking distance of some really great food and drink spots. Check out Q39 for BBQ or Beer Kitchen nearby. I would stay here again.

    « clean and comfortable »

This hotel was clean and comfortable - not really near anything so you have to drive or uber to anything you may want to do. The breakfast was exceptional - one of the best I have had included at a hotel.

« Old and not clean »

I stayed for 2 days, the first room had a bad smell the next room was not very clean. As you walked in the door the carpet was very worn. The breakfast was not good, the food was cold the place was small, not much seating. For $150.00 per night I could have stayed a the Hampton Inn for $15.00 and had a better and much better food.

« CLOSE TO MANY AMENITIES »

A hidden gem near many favorite locations. We were primarily going to the Children's Hospital at various times throughout our stay. Hotel has a very attractive hospital rate which was very much appreciated.

« Great hotel for the price--would definitely stay here again »

I've had mixed success with Best Westerns in the past but was swayed by all the positive reviews on here. This place is a gem--clean, very comfortable, friendly staff, in a building that's even kind of cute (it has kind of a Mediterranean vibe going on). Great beds, great shower and bathroom, couldn't recommend this place enough. It's not super-fancy or luxurious but I would definitely stay here again. I was just passing through on a two-week cross-country trip with my dad, staying in a different hotel every night, and this was one of the best hotels we had by far.

    5
    « Painless »

Our family stayed here due to an appointment at Children's Mercy. The gentleman that booked my room was exceptionally helpful. He found us extra discounts so the room was affordable. The proximity to the hospital was the original reason why we stayed but we will be staying here for every trip to the Kansas City area based on the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. We were very pleased especially with the staff. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and very helpful.

    5
« The best experience in a long time »

From the moment we entered the lobby we were greeted with friendly professionalism. Every single person working in the lobby was helpful and made us feel like VIPs. We didn't have time for breakfast Sunday morning so the "breakfast lady" brought my husband some breakfast bars. When I needed some ice for my NutriSystem shake one of the men in the lobby went to the 2nd floor and brought me my ice! This is why we always stay at this hotel every time we go to Kansas City.

    3
« Best Western Plus Seville Plaza »

This hotel although it had a pleasant staff, the room was dated with old dark curtains and the carpet was old looked dirty/dingy. Internet service wasn't secure, so that was out. The breakfast gets a plus.

« Good location, nice hotel »

Visiting on Fathers day weekend. This is a nice friendly, good location. Friendly service staff during check-in. Nice clean room and comfortable bed. Parkin on front of hotel or on back lot. Ample lobby area. Has shuttle service to downtown areas every half hour, but limited to 11 persons, so sign up early. No problems during stay, good price per night.

« Great choice when visiting KC »

This Best Western is really a great choice when visiting Kansas City (Missouri). The hotel is located close to the Plaza area, is relatively small but has a nice Sevilla-style ambiance. Furthermore, the hotel is well maintained, is quiet (if you take a room in the back) and is a few minutes drive from downtown just following Main Street. It has a nice small garden in the back and parking is free. WiFi is excellent and free as well. The room are good too, we had a whirlpool room (nr. 410). Bed and shower were good. Fridge and microwave were present. Also a Keurig coffeemaker. Price/quality is good too, downtown hotels are rather expensive. Free breakfast was very basic, could be better. Personnel was very friendly. Only negative point was the very strong chemical smell in the hotel corridors and the room of carpet cleansing agent. But after a while you get used to that ;)

    4
« Easy Access to around town »

This hotel was on the main street, so it was pretty easy access to get anywhere you want in the city. It was pretty close to art centers. Rooms were clean and there was a small business center, I needed to print out a few documents. There's breakfast that's made by one of the local attendants, I think she was making monkey bread to share with the guests. It's a small hotel, but I liked it, it seemed safe, but like any city there were pan handlers just outside the gate.

    « Beautiful Little Hotel-Friendly, Professional Staff-Centrally Located »

Our stay here exceeded our expectations! This isn't a large hotel, but that's part of it's charm. The hotel itself is exceptionally well-maintained, with a beautiful decor inside and out, which includes an extensively landscaped, multi-tiered, garden area with patio seating. Parking is free and secure, adjacent to the garden/patio, within a partially-walled private lot that is visible from both the rooms and the front desk. To the back of the property, through the glass doors near the front desk and up the steps of the garden and across the private parking lot, it appears that you are staying on a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood street, but walk out the front doors and you are on Main Street with a free shuttle provided to you within a 3 mile radius and a full-service convenience store next door. This hotel is centrally located between the shopping, restaurants, and entertainment of the Country Club Plaza and Crown Center/Union Station and Power and Light Districts. As well as, being close to major concert and sporting event venues. All within the range of the free shuttle! It is also only a few blocks from one of the best art museums we've visited, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.. All of the staff here goes "above and beyond"! Their professionalism and the overall quality of customer service was outstanding. But what really made an impression on us was experiencing the genuine friendliness and helpfulness from each and everyone of the employees we encountered. Also, I want to mention that during our 2 day/ 3 night stay, the hotel was booked to capacity...which I'm sure provided an extra challenge for all of the staff, but especially the people preparing/serving/and caring for the free breakfast provided in the homey, dining/living room-style breakfast area. However, you wouldn't have known it, because (even with the full-breakfast options including; scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, monkey bread, make-yourself waffles, and great variety of other continental breakfast selections) each morning the breakfast area was neat, clean, and promptly replenished, with well-prepared, fresh/ hot, delicious selections by polite, attentive, conscientious staff. The room was perfectly cleaned, appointed with very nice furnishings and soft, comfortable beds that come with plenty of extra pillows. The refrigerator and large flat screen T.V. were great room features, too. There isn't a lot of extra space in the rooms, but we found it to be fine for the two of us. However, the bathroom in our room was spacious, which was a plus. We would most definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy a visit to the central Kansas City, MO area. Not only is it a safe, quiet, central location, that is clean and aesthetically pleasing, well-maintained and managed, with a friendly, professional staff, but it provided a great value in comparison to other hotels in the area.

    3
    « Poor air conditioning »

The overall stay at this hotel was OK, the first day had trouble with air conditioning, they said no one was available until the next to fix it, no offer to move rooms. First bad night, was able to move the next day to another room. However no over was ever made to reduce the room price the first night or any other type of compensation for the unbearable night.

    « 3 stars is generous »

I booked this hotel for a KC stopover based on the reviews and was very underwhelmed. Perhaps I got a bad room, but it was dank, small, showing some age, and a little smelly. The bathroom had used towels in it. I could see that the shower was retiled, which was nice, but the upgraded aesthetics can't disguise the poor ones, i.e., the marble sinktop doesn't hide the crusty pipes underneath. The rooms have the old-type fans in them. Beds were old and squishy. Linens were decent. The staff on Sunday wasn't exactly professional, even somewhat apathetic. I received towels after a second request a few hours later, but was told there were no extra blankets (?). The Monday morning staff was hustling, however, and polite and friendly. Breakfast was average. Not a horrible place, but you get what you pay for. If all you need is a bed and four walls, it is adequate. If you want quality, service, and/or amenities, I suggest spending a few extra dollars and going elsewhere.

    « Awesome! »

This is our second stay at the Seville Plaza and we love it! It is close to everything we want to do in KC. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We love the courtyard out back and wish every hotel we stay at had one similar. We had come to KC for a concert at the Starlight and met several other guests there for the same reason, so that was cool. It is a pet friendly hotel and we love meeting others pets. I would highly recommend this hotel!

« Friendly staff and fine amenities »

We stayed at this hotel because of its close proximity to downtown and the plaza area. The staff was incredibly friendly and incredibly welcoming. The breakfast in the morning was very delicious. The eggs tasted real, the sausage and hashbrowns were good, and the monkey bread was delightful. We were even able to eat breakfast on their cute patio. The room we stayed in was clean and smelled very good, unlike most hotel rooms. We really liked this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

« Staff is wonderful, hotel is conveniently located »

The good: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The housekeeper that we kept running into was so warm and friendly. Ramon was super accommodating and friendly, its no wonder he was employee of the month in Feb 2016. The other manager (Joseph, maybe) was also very friendly and helpful. The location was great, close to westport, which is always a great time. Also, it is next door to a QT. The little courtyard in the back is great. The breakfast was excellent. Included waffles, eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, monkey bread, and the usual suspects, yogurt, cereal, fruit... Free margaritas on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The bad: The room smelled pretty bad, but we got used to it. Musty farts would be a fair comparison. The carpet wasnt all that clean. The floor in the bathroom was dirty. The bed was hard and the mattress was pretty old. The parking was somewhat frustrating. 15 (tops) spots up front, the back lot was SUPER annoying with no other option but to reverse out if there were no spots, small lot next to back lot that required that you move your car by 10am as it did not belong to the hotel. The shuttle only runs on weekends. All in all, we would most definitely stay here again.

    4
    « Good value »

I stayed here for one night to attend a wedding downtown. I wanted to be near the Plaza, but didn't want to pay $200. bucks a night. The area around the hotel is a little sketchy, but its a great value and I would stay again. I was able to walk 4-5 blocked to the J.C. Nichols fountain and the Plaza. I asked for a top floor room in the back and the front desk was very accommodating. Parking was a breeze and I had a good, quiet room. The hotel is clean and appealing inside and staff could not have been nicer. Would stay here again.

This hotel is a treasure tucked away on Main Street near the Country Club Plaza and Westport. The level of service is amazing. There is a nice private courtyard with a fire pit in the back and a sitting area in the front shaded by a grape arbor. It's a small hotel, very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast is great with something for every appetite. We didn't use the room service menu, having been to Five Guys earlier in the day, but it is available. Rates are very reasonable. We've stayed there twice in the past month, and it's our new favorite in Kansas City.

Nice location to go to Plaza or Westport areas. Quiet hotel spacious room. Very friendly staff. I missed my connecting flight and needed change to plans on the fly. Staff was very accommodating and made sure I did not lose my reservation.

    « Very Good Experience »

This was our first time staying at a Best Western, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. We were a large group, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us and make us feel comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

    « Never again »

My family and I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights when attending a graduation at UMKC. We had 7 rooms. On the first morning we were rudely awakened by the sound of the weed eater shortly after 8 am. Minutes later, we heard banging so loud that we couldn't hear each other speaking. We notified the cleaning staff and then received a call from the office stating that the tile in the room above ours was being removed to replace with carpet. Are you kidding? Either the work should have been done later in the day or we shouldn't have been booked for that room. I called back down and the front desk attendant could hear the racket through the phone! They apologized and said it is difficult to schedule the workers to come later in the day. Seriously? Are the tile guys working for the hotel or the hotel works for the tile guys?Either don't put guests on that side of the building or schedule the workers later- duh! I was assured that it wouldn't happen again but sure enough, the next morning there was a repeated sound of the nails being tacked in all around the room that woke us up around 830 again. The front did nothing to ensure our restful stay. They seemed to have more concern for the people who would possibly be coming in the future than those of us who were paying to be there already. I had to come home to get some rest. very overpriced. hall carpets very run down and had an odd odor. room was fine.staff was trying to use vinegar and various chemicals to remove the foul smell. very small outdoor space was nicely landscaped.

« QUALITY STAY, EXCELLENT FACILITY »

Booked 2 rooms at this hotel for 1 night while attending a concert at the Sprint Center. Staff was efficient and provided excellent service. The hotel was very clean, and the rooms were quite comfortable. The highlight of our stay was meeting Sheila, the shuttle van operator. This young lady was very engaging and provided us with an enjoyable experience to and from our destination. Sheila is an excellent representative for the Best Western brand, and should be valued for her service to the people who stay at your hotel.

    « Beautiful Gem »

I initially had called the national hotline to book a room, but it was very frustrating. I called the hotel directly and I was greeted by a very nice man named Joseph who made reservations a breeze. It's not easy to find a decent room on a royals/holiday weekend, so book early! The property is very nice, the lobby has beautiful Spanish style decorations and tile work. Pleasant and inviting music playing, and friendly staff. Breakfast room is small but very tastefully decorated. 4 floors and one elevator can be a hassle in the morning with everyone moving around, so take the stairs when you can or you may be going for a ride. The hallways are beautiful, they made me feel like I was in an old New York style building, with nice vases throughout. Room was comfortable, nice tv and roomy fridge. My room had a great view of main st. And a large window. We did not use the shuttle, but it is a very nice Mercedes Benz that will take your whole family to the historic Kansas City districts. Every guest I talked to seemed very happy and had no complaints. My only very small complaint is that at other best western hotels we have enjoyed real eggs. These seem to be the powdered kind, which is no big deal. the cinnamon roll bites are delicious. Thank you and we will stay again to see our Royals play!

    « Amazing Staff/Qaint Hotel »

The Hotel has lots of character & is always clean. The staff is phenomenal. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived well after 3pm. It was a holiday weekend & several employees had called in sick. Ramon & Roni quickly resolved the issue (within 15 minutes), profusely apologetic & sincere about the trouble. This was our 2nd visit & we will definitely be returning.

    « Great location »

This unit is decorated as a Spanish inn with tile floors and other trappings and a small garden patio in the back. Our room was nice sized, on the top floor, facing away from the street, quiet, perfect. The clerk on the desk when we checked in was Elizabeth, less than a week on the job. She was the best front end employee we encountered on this 3 week road trip, The breakfast area was tiny - 2 communal tables and a note that we could take breakfast to the lobby or the patio. Neither optimal alternatives with the bad weather we were having. We were here for three mornings and there was absolutely no variety from day to day. It was th same scrambled eggs and monkey bread. The location on Main St was excellent--straight down to the WW I Memorial and only a couple of blocks from the Nelson-Atkins Museum. We will return to this hotel again.

« Fine in every way »

As part of a vacation, I was in Kansas City to see the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. I selected this hotel because it is well rated and near the museum. I was very pleased with my stay at the hotel--friendly and helpful staff; comfortable and immaculate room; ample (complimentary) breakfast; and free parking. The hotel is located a few blocks from the Nelson-Atkins Museum and is even closer to the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art.

« Trip to see family in Missouri »

The motel has only one handicapped room so was unable to reserve it. My friend brought a toilet extension and did not take a shower so was able to get along. The room was adequate for a walker and was nice and clean. The breakfast room was small and needed more space for all the guests. Breakfast was very good

    « Overnight Stay »

Staff was very helpful, location is great but very urban, room was very nice, breakfast was tasty, but not a lot of seating. Very happy with experience. The rest of this is filler to get to the required 200 characters. No wonder people skip this step. What an annoying requirement.

    « Personalized Service »

This hotel provided SUCH a great experience: small and quaint with an amazing staff. Not only was the hotel in walking distance of shopping and dining on the Plaza but the staff has a shuttle that will take and pick you up at the drop of a dime. Parking situation was stress free and free of charge. Had hot breakfast ea. morning until 1030 am. I cannot think of anything negative to report on this hotel - great job Best Western!

    « good location »

Nice quaint hotel located in central part of K.C. Close to shopping areas and many resturants within a short distance. Easy drive to the casino. Close to a good art gallery(Nelson). nearby parks for walking. Breakfast room not up to Best Western Plus quality. Staff friendly and helpful.Don't a room on first floor near the breakfast room.

« Our favorite hotel in KCMO »

We have stayed at the Seville Plaza a number of times. They continue to hold to being a quality place to stay in Kansas City. They have expanded their breakfast room, and the breakfast itself is very good. A nice variety of eggs, biscuits, etc. Our room was clean as usual. We happened to be next to the elevator on the 3rd floor which made a little more noise than usual. Also, recommend getting a room on the back side away from the Main Street noise.

« Great place in KC »

This was our second visit and we're glad we came back for two nights. Room was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast had even better selection this time; thank you for using eco-friendly paper products, not styrofoam! We like: Mediterranean style & tiles, free hotel parking lot, short walk to shops, local shuttle available. And the hotel is within 5 miles to the historic 18th & Vine district, several museums, Union Station, & the NEW KC trolley line. Staff was very friendly & everything looks clean. Nice patio in back of hotel (we ate breakfast there one morning) & plants in front. Areas to improve: Noisy repairs on the outer wall of our room in the morning. Only coffee available in room--perhaps tea for the Keurig machine could be available at front desk? Hot water wasn't hot at breakfast but staff got some from the kitchen. Please don't allow large SUVs to use compact spaces in front parking lot.

« Great for price, but, »

Hi, we all like honesty in advertising, right? Well, I saw a chance to save a bunch on a decent room in Kansas City, so I went on line and booked it , saved $40.00 ! Well, guess what, another Patel lie, pillow top mattress? Wrong ! Turns out they put a pad on top of cheap spring mattress and that's there pillow top mattress. You got it, not a good night's sleep. What can I say ? Liar liar pants on fire hope Donal revokes your green cards!

« Nothing bad to say »

In kind of an uptownish area in North Kansas City. Free breakfast and parking. Very accommodating. I have nothing bad to say about this place. If you are looking for an affordable, but still a nice place to stay it is a great idea. I went here to go to the Uptown Theater to see a few bands and can say it was a wonderful experience.

    « One Tiny Exception »

I had a great stay and was pleasantly surprised at the wonderful neighborhood and all there was to do nearby. There was one exception to the fabulous stay. On two separate occasions the morning of our check out, BWP employees attempted to open the door of our room. The first was wanting to work on a repair (not for our room) and the second was wanting to clean prior to our having checked out. I called the front desk and it was promptly addressed.

    « Excellent hotel »

This is a very good Best western. Clean modern rooms. Luxurious showers and very conveniently located downtown. There is even a really good health food store next door. Plenty of parking. Front desk staff were super prompt and helpful. Sumptuous breakfast buffet. Great place.

    « Everything I need from a hotel! »

The guy on reception was friendly and helpful and completely organised and on top of things. The lobby area is beautiful with a view to an immaculate garden that I really appreciated. I also liked the impressive fresh flower arrangement in the lobby. Our room was clean and spacious and nicely decorated. I slept extremely peacefully here which was what I really needed.

    « Hidden Gem! »

We loved this hotel. Rooms clean and nice and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the lobby and outdoor patios - not typical setup and decor, and very unique, beautiful, classy but fun. Breakfast was awesome! There was so much variety and very tasty. Chef Mark rocks! Within walking distance of the Plaza, historic district, Kansas City Art Institute, and museums (Nelson, Kemper, etc).

    « A Lovely Stay »

We had a very nice stay here while visiting our college-age daughter. The free breakfast was quite nice and the coffee plentiful. The back patio is beautifully landscaped and restful -- many chirping and twittering birds (and a resident wild bunny). Easy walking distance to the Nelson-Atkins and the modern museums, which are must-sees.

    « A friendly place to stay »

The hotel staff was especially friendly and helpful. This is a small hotel, but fairly quaint. It was easy to see that customer service is emphasized among the staff. A great selection of items for breakfast each day.

« Exceptional caring friendly 'boutique' hotel »

The hotel was fully booked .....we could soon see why! It started well when the manager managed to arrange an earlier check-in for two exhausted elder citizens(very long tiring journey, no car) and it got better! Nice spacious clean rooms and bathroom. 24hr coffee and decent hot complimentary breakfast. Very helpful friendly cheerful reception staff. Well located on Main St near the brilliant Nelson-Atkins museum(walkable) and Plaza. Adjacent bus stop to and from Union Station. Pretty little garden at back. And all for a very reasonable price. Well done and thank you.

« fabulous establishment with caring and friendly service in great location at a modest price--a real gem »

This is one of the best places I've stayed at in a long time. Virtually everything about this place was above average. First of all, the service and attitude of virtually every employee there was unusually positive and friendly. It is one thing to have one person be really outstandingly friendly but it is rare for that to extend to virtually every employee including the cleaning staff, but that was the case here. I was very impressed. Also, people actually seemed happy doing their jobs. They have a sign up in the rooms that talks about an attitude of caring there and it was not just a sign--it was reality. Also, the place was really clean and smelled really good everywhere I went--the halls, the lobby, our room and even the elevator. And it was a pleasant scent, not at all like a hospital. Everything in our room was in good condition and the TV reception on the HD TV was unusually sharp. Everything everywhere seemed to be in a good state of repair. For all this I actually would have expected to pay more, considering the location so close to the Plaza. At $101 per night (not including taxes), this place is really high on the value scale. Next time I'm in town, even if this is not the closest place to my business, I may stay here anyway I liked it so much. I have a strong feeling that everything is so good at this place because the management really works hard at it. For example, not only did I get an email asking me to evaluate the place, after I did so, I got another email thanking me for taking the time to do so. That is a sign that management really cares about making their guests happy. They totally succeeded with me. Also, the parking was free and there was enough of it, which is not something you can say about a lot of hotels in the middle of a major city. This is a really good property. I don't give 5 stars very often (I believe this is only my second one ever), but in this case it is totally deserved. Finally, I didn't eat at the breakfast buffet but it looked pretty good. It looked better than most places for sure in this price range. Not to forget, the décor in the lobby was way nicer than most places in this price range--it had a nice upscale look to it with tile floors. But it is the people who make this place what it is and the staff here as I've already said was just super all the way around.

We were in KC for a concert at the Sprint Center. We found this Best Western Plus to be a great hotel, close to all attractions. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet - it was like we had the whole place to ourselves. Breakfast was good & hot. The staff was friendly & attentive. We would definitely stay there again.

I have stayed here twice in the past year for business. Location is great, I love the boutique feel of the hotel. Rooms were clean, wifi great, beds comfortable. Staff is very professional. I have never had a issue with noise. I would highly recommend the Best Western PLUS Seville Plaza Hotel.

« Quick one night girls trip... »

Pros: We had a riot at this hotel! The accommodations for 4 were comfortable. The shuttle service is a must to the Plaza, Westport or Power and Light. The shuttle driver made our night. She was a hoot and we want to come back for a quick weekend soon! Continental breakfast was a complete hot breakfast. Free parking on-site. Clean bathroom. Cons: The beds need updating, the carpet in our room needed vacuuming /replacing. We only needed to sleep there for a few hours and a stellar review otherwise. Clean sheets, comforter not sure. I am of the understanding that they are updating throughout. I will give them preference over other hotels again!

    « Kind, Considerate Staff »

We booked this hotel because of its location near the Nelson-Atkins museum. It's walkable. Hotel manager told us that the hotel offers free shuttle for anywhere within three miles. We didn't need the shuttle but it was nice to have the option. Friendly, helpful staff. The Spanish-theme décor is nice and the outdoor garden with tables and chairs is lovely. The hotel was undergoing a restoration during our stay but it didn't affect us negatively.

« Stay over while at a conference »

Very nice staff, great breakfast, clean, customer-oriented hotel. My stay exceeded my expectations. It is a small "boutique" hotel, but has a quaint atmosphere. My room was teken care of very well. It is just several blocks from the Plaza and offers shuttle service there and to other close-by desitnations.

    « Love the location »

When looking for a hotel for our trip to KC I wanted something which was close to attractions and restaurants. I scored big with this hotel. It was no more than about 10 minutes from everything we wanted to do. It was close to the Westport area which has great restaurants and bars.

    « Great value »

My wife and I stayed here for 6 days while our daughter was at St Lukes Hospital which is nearby. The hotel offers a hospital discount. The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and close. The rooms were clean. It's not luxury, but everything worked as it should. Room size was adequate The breakfast was more than expected. Yes, they had a rotating waffle iron, but we never saw anyone use it while we were there. Real scrambled eggs everyday and the cook actually made something special each day. A decent selection of other choices. We stayed at another nearby hotel for 2 nights for a few dollars more per day, but the Best Western was a better place to stay.

    4
    « Quaint and Clean »

We enjoyed our time here. The room is small, as is the hotel, but clean and we were made to feel very much at home. Loved the decor of the lobby area, the dining area, and the back patio. It reminded me of a European property bc it was quaint and comfortable. We ordered take-out and enjoyed the dining room (breakfast area) as a family. Friendly staff. VERY reasonably priced. Hotel two blocks away was more than $100 more/night.

« Great hotel for the money »

I booked the Best Western Plus Seville, not knowing what to expect. I was very happy. We had our two dogs with us and since we were on the first floor, it made extremely easy to take them out and they had bags for our use to dispose of their waste.

« Great staff at a great place! »

Wonderful price for the location plus free parking and an amazing complimentary breakfast! You can easily walk to the plaza or Kemper and Nelson-Atkins art museums. Rooms were clean and had comfortable beds. However the best part was the staff! I had a group of high schoolers on an art trip and they had all rooms and keys ready at our arrival with a quick check in. The next day Joseph was able to give us an extra hour for two girls who were ill. Then they kindly printed us an extra copy of our receipt before leaving town. All very friendly and efficiently! A hidden gem in KC!

Have never been disappointed with this Best Western. Ramon and his staff are the best. The free breakfast is hot and with choices. Would be nice to have a micro wave in the room though. Parking is convenient and street noise in minimal.

    « Family friendly vacation »

My family of 4 stayed here for four nights. We had a wonderful time in KC and this hotel helped make it enjoyable! Free full breakfast every morning saved us $ on our food budget every day. We all loved the food. I loved the scrambled eggs and monkey bread, my 5 yo loved the sausage and my 9 yo made her own Belgian waffle every morning. ALL of the staff were very friendly and genuinely seemed to like their jobs. Excellent location! 2 min drive to Plaza, 10 min to Crown Center, 15 to the zoo. Free parking was great too! We felt safe and comfortable. The only thing preventing me from rating 5 stars was that the room seemed outdated regarding decor, had a musty smell and the bathroom was tiny. But the price did make up for that. 4.5 stars if I could. We'll be back!

    4
    « Excellent Value »

These folks are trying hard. The hotel was perfectly acceptable in most ways. The staff was excellent - friendly and professional. Room was clean and neat if a bit noisy (top floor, corner room on street side - just a "loud" location - not a flaw in the hotel). Decor is pleasant (spanish? - not my specialty) and it appears that they are working on it further...met the workers in the elevator. The breakfast was acceptable if not delicious. Standard fare, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, cereal, muffins, waffles, etc. The issue is that the dining / service area is tiny. The area was easily overwhelmed if more than one family arrived at the same time. I would estimate functional seating capacity to be less than 20. Again, they are trying, they just need more seating. The only real problem that we had was the useless Wifi. I'm not sure what to say other than that it simply didn't function. Poor conectivity and super slow...likely taxed beyond capacity. Just needs fixed. The bottom line is that for $98/night, things were just fine. Nothing really beyond the smallest of problems. Obviously, it is located on a busy street in a major city so make sure this is OK for your situation. We would consider staying here again under the right circumstances. Don't expect a resort but your weekend getaway will be well taken care of.

    « Spring Break »

My family and I took a trip to Kansas City and stayed at the Best Western. OMG! Nice place, very friendly staff, and very easy to find. I have never stayed in a hotel that has a Keureg in the room...can you say "K" cup....and to top it off they do Margarita night...yes! Next time I'm in KC that is where I will be staying

« Extremely clean and friendly staff »

We had an enjoyable experience staying here. The room was extremely clean, which is something I never say about a four star hotel. I couldn't find one dirty thing or even dust in the whole room and bathroom, which is rare. The room had all the standard features. The sink counter space was a too small to tackle all the baby feeding gear, but we made it work. We were a little bummed that the hotel doesn't have a pool. Also, the location of the hotel worked out really well for us, as we came to KC for the zoo and Sea Life aquarium with our 15 month old. It is in an up and coming neighborhood, with partially gated parking. It could use a facelift on the exterior to match the somewhat recent interior upgrades. It's right next to a gas station, but that wasn't a deterrent for us. The continental breakfast was somewhat better than what we've recently had at similar hotels. If you get a chance though, walk ten minutes to The Corner restaurant for a delicious full breakfast! Overall, we'd stay there again! It's a great alternative to the expensive five stars closer to downtown!

    4
    « Nice Clean Hotel »

    « Reccomend »

At check-in and check-out, Ramon tended to me. He is polite, cheerful, and welcoming. It's not a fancy hotel, but that's okay. The beds are comfortable, the TV works, and breakfast is excellent: cereals, fruit, yogurt, bread, bagels, eggs, sausage, potatoes, and waffles. On different days there was also biscuits & gravy and french toast. All the staff were friendly. My only issue is the housekeeping. While my room was by no means dirty, I could tell that the housekeeper was in a bit of a rush. The exposed shelf beneath the sink was dusty. Also, on another day, the runner that is laid out on the bed, was on the nightstand when I returned to my room. I had not left it there. I do want to emphasize that the room was not DIRTY, nor were these things upsetting. But I did notice. All in all if you want a reliable place with friendly and helpful staff and don't require luxury (and Days Inn & Motel 6 aren't your thing), stay here. Great location. Great breakfast. Great staff.

    « Good Stay »

Every month we make the 3 hour drive to Kansas City for my husband's doctor appointment at St. Luke's Hospital and Clinic. Every time, we book our room at Best Western PLUS Seville Plaza Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri. It is easy access for us and only a couple of blocks from our destination. They give us a medical discount and are very helpful with whatever we need. The rooms are always pristine and comfortable. The employees are very helpful and they serve a great breakfast on the Lobby floor which has a variety of items both hot and cold. Parking is easy to access and there is a convenience store next door for snacks, gas, and other necessities. Just ask the person at the desk and they will help you with directions, other travel, and dining suggestions.

    4
    « Good Experience Overall »

The room was pleasant and the beds were comfortable, nice complimentary bathroom toiletries, mini-fridge was a nice addition, decent breakfast with plenty of options, good location relative to the rest of the city. The TV or remote didn't work, but this wasn't an issue since I didn't spend much time hanging out in the room.

    « Would Not Return »

With so many lovely choices near Country Club Plaza, we will take a pass on this property in future. The challenging parking and associated luggage hauling up a flight of stairs to reach the back lot were wildly inconvenient. Also, housekeeping service on day 2 consisted of the removal of the our tip, fresh towels thrown onto the rack and the emptying of trash bin. The bed was not made up (there were no personal items left on bed that would have prevented bed-making). Toiletries and coffee items were not refreshed. We always travel neatly, so there would have been no mess with which to contend. The tap water had a sulphur smell and we ended up securing bottled water. The elevator was painfully slow. The hallways and (lovely looking) courtyard were noisy until late at night. Affordable, but not feasible.

    5
« First visit will definitely return »

We stayed here because the location was good for the places we were going to visit over spring break and the price was right. I think my son-in-law was a little concerned as drove down the street from Crown Center but it was a very good stay. Everything was very clean including the restroom close to the front desk. There was a great variety of food for breakfast. It looks rather small when you drive up but I had no complaints. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It helped to go a little earlier for breakfast on the 2nd day as the eating area is rather small but we discovered there were additional tables out in the upper lobby.

    4
    « Another great stay »

We stayed there last summer, so when we decided to come back to Kansa city this spring we chose to stay here again. The staff has been great both of the times we have stayed there. All of them go out of the way to be helpful and friendly. The breakfast is always good , it is still being remodeled so there is work going on. Our fridge was not working great and when we told the front desk they took care of us. They always seem to try to make the customer happy.

    5
    « Always a Great Stay! »

The hotel is always consistent on providing excellent service in all areas. This has been our first choice of hotels for many years whenever we are visiting or traveling through the area. It's convenient to the Plaza area and they are extremely pet friendly. The employees are most pleasant and truly appear happy at all times! It has a beautifully landscaped garden that you can enjoy any time of the year from either the outdoor patio, the indoor seating area, or the rear facing rooms. Nice property, nice staff!

This hotel is conveniently located near Westport, and is a quick cab or shuttle ride down to the Power and Light District. We stayed for the Big 12 basketball tournament and had a great experience. The hotel shuttle was a great option to get downtown, and the driver was amazing! All staff members were friendly and professional. The only negative was due to other hotel guests coming back in the middle of the night and being extremely loud and disruptive in the hallways. Knowing most guests were there for the tournament and to party, I wasn't surprised by this behavior and I'm guessing this would not be a normal occurrence during most stays. This was my second stay and I plan on using this hotel for any future Kansas City visits.

« No complaints at all!! »

Everything from service to amenities was outstanding!! We stayed for a family wedding and would stay in this hotel again. Very close to the downtown area and Starbucks is right next store if you are a coffee snob like me. Rooms were very comfortable and had everything needed for our stay. Breakfast was fantastic and the shuttle service was exceptional.

    « Nicely located »

This property is conveniently located with easy access to many Kansas City attractions. A wide choice of restaurants, shopping and world class museums are easy to find, and public transportation is a few steps away if needed that gives you access to the Plaza, Westport, Sprint Center and downtown. The hotel is older, but well maintained, and although the decor is a little outdated, the rooms are clean and many amenities are provided. You can actually walk to several attractions and restaurants which is very convenient. The breakfast area is small, but the food was well prepared and the attendant kept things well stocked and the area neat and clean. One small issue is that parking is a little limited so if the hotel is full even the auxiliary parking in the back can fill up. I would not hesitate to stay here again when visiting KC.

    « Spanish - twice removed »

The Seville Plaza takes its inspiration from the architecture of the nearby Country Club Plaza. The property itself has a tiled roof, decorative tiles imbedded in the walled front courtyard/parking lot and the lobby has definite Spanish accents in its furniture, flooring, etc. Once you're upstairs, a lot of that influence diminishes. But the corridors are punctuated by arched alcoves for wall sconces and extensive moldings which I found unusually handsome. My room had two framed pencil sketches of what may have been antique Spanish vases. The king-sized bed was extraordinarily comfortable, was flanked by end tables with lamps with better-than-average bulb wattage and convenient plugs in their bases - a definite plus when hooking up a CPAP machine. There was free and easily accessible WiFi which was a definite plus for a computer klutz such as myself. Again, the desk lamp had above-average wattage as did the floor lamp behind the solid and comfortable easy chair (with ottoman). The room also sported a mini-fridge (which I use to chill insulin - although the ice machine was just down the hall). My hall was quite quiet, though I could hear occasional coughing from next door. What seems to be the prevailing shades of brown and tan found everywhere these days were carried out in this room as well. There's a door-less niche which pretends to be a closet and had TWO luggage racks. The bathroom had abundant linens, toiletries which were replaced daily, and there's a spacious granite counter top with a sweeping mirror over the sink. Water pressure and temperature were always immediately summoned. I was also impressed by the size of the soap bars. These were actually larger than the thin-as-a-razor-blade one usually encounters and were textured as well. Housekeeping was a bit superficial -- sheets weren't changed during my 3-night stay and the digital alarm clock was set at the wrong time upon my arrival. Why can't staff routinely set the correct time as so many clocks are different and hard to figure out if you're not used to that model/brand? Breakfast was included. It's the standard stuff (tepid eggs, sausage links, excellent biscuits and gravy) with a few nice add-ons like good yogurt and fresh fruit, but paper plates and plastic utensils. The most coveted parking spots are directly in front of the property and snagging one there is a definite plus. Additional parking is behind the hotel, but it's not accessible (there are several steps as well as an ascent up a small hill). All handicapped spots are out front. There are pleasant sitting areas both outside as well as inside the hotel. My room had half of a bay window which looked directly into some private backyards. There is no shortage of good restaurants nearby in the Plaza and Westport areas. For more basic needs, there's a Quick Trip (QT) next door; I find this chain to have a better selection of food items and other essentials than any other convenience store chain. And you can't beat gas prices in Missouri! For road warriors, there's an Office Depot right up the street in the opposite direction. The Kemper Modern Art and Nelson-Atkins Museums are just blocks away. My only quibble here is that the front desk staff seems overburdened owing to multi-tasking. First of all, the ONE person there was responsible for handling check-ins and outs as well as taking reservations on the phone and accommodating in-house requests of various natures. I found this to be the case upon both arriving and leaving. Mind you, the staff were are very friendly and courteous - just kept very busy all the time.

« Some issues but decent overall »

When I checked in on Friday evening I went straight to my room to use the bathroom. Upon opening the door I found an empty can of soda underneath the sink. My next look was to the toilet seat which had urine splatter all over it as though someone had pissed all over it. I had to clean and sanitize the seat with the soap bar and wash cloth. I did not make a big deal over it as we were tired. However, the lack of regard for guests from whomever made the mess is completely unprofessional and thus you are receiving this bad review.

    « Place to stay »

I stayed at this location about 4 times but being CLC member I never get a chance to stay on 4th floor. LOL over all I love this motel can stroll in the evening and drive to the downtown bars, location is very convenient... hoping one day I may get chance to stay on the top floor...

    « Older but good »

This is an older hotel, as I'm sure most are in downtown KC. Parking is limited to one per room. The breakfast is standard hotel fair, with eggs, sausage, oatmeal, pastries, etc. They keep the hot water carafe separate from the coffee ones so that your hot tea doesn't taste like coffee--good job! It may have just been our room because we were in an accessible one right off the elevator, but there was no counter space in the bathroom--just a stand-alone sink. That made handling toiletries difficult. The top of the toilet was full of kleenex, complimentary lotions, etc., so there was literally no space to set anything. That seems a lack of foresight--a single shelf near the sink would have been appreciated. We were in KC for an appointment at the Medical Plaza, and it was just around the corner. It is also very close to the Plaza shopping area.

« Best Western Plus Seville Plaza Hotel, Kansas City »

A small hotel with a friendly staff making your stay a pleasant visit to Kansas City. I found the hotel bedding clean and comfortable, room was large and presented in freshly painted neat decor. Service by staff was very helpful in noting places of interest, a Friday night shuffle to specific areas of town, a breakfast available in the mornings, a great location and value. I would definitely stay here again.

« Very nice with a nice price! »

Nice hotel nestled in the Westport area. Close to shopping and Spring Center. Offer shuttle service within 3 or 4 miles, which is a nice attraction. Lovely decor. Very nice staff. And the price is great too! Will definitely stay there again.

    « Great value & Coveniently Located »

Clean rooms and less than 3 miles from Plaza, Westport & Power & Light. It was great to park the car take the shuttle to these destinations. Great value considering other hotels in the area are $30-$100 higher.

« Always friendly and helpful staff »

Hotel is small, but in great location. Shuttle available to local restaurants, concert halls, etc. on weekend. Great breakfast of very good scrambled eggs and sausage plus the normal cereal, waffles, coffee, etc.

    « Excellent!! »

It was in our budget and very nice!! Also free breakfast, they made sure everything was stocked up and trash was taken out during breakfast. I didn't realize on the first morning that there are more chairs in the lobby area if it's too crowded. Our room was nice and clean. On our last day we left before breakfast and they had to go bags made up of water, granola bar, and apple. They suggested we take one since we couldn't stay for breakfast. The only problem we had wasn't anything to do with the hotel. It was the in room food delivery, it was almost two hours for them to deliver a salad, and it was not good at all. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

« Location & Staff are the best part! »

The location of this hotel is tough to beat for the price. The parking is decent, the staff is incredibly friendly and the hotel runs a shuttle service late into the night to nearby restaurants, clubs and casinos, for tips only. We were thrilled we wouldn't have to find parking on the Plaza on Valentine's weekend for our dinner reservations, and my husband was free to enjoy drinks with me at dinner without concerns for driving. Sadly, the shuttle won't drive through the Plaza, so you have to be willing to walk from PF Changs/the fountain area, as the drop off/pick up point is in front of there. However, the driver was courteous and gave us a card with phone number to call when we were ready for pickup. Due to the cold, we ended up standing in the heated breezeway of PF Changs until she arrived, and felt very fortunate PF Changs didn't run us out since we didn't eat there! If the weather were nicer, this wouldn't be an issue. The hotel rooms were as clean as they could be for this older hotel. The beds were medium; not the best, not the worst. They come with several pillows in varying densities. When we arrived at 3pm, we were supposed to have a business king and were upgraded to a executive king due to the rooms not being cleaned yet. The manager didn't hesitate to make the change. The staff was very friendly, offering any help we might need for directions, dinner suggestions, etc. The downside; this is an older property. It isn't as bad as some I've stayed in on the Plaza (the whole area is historic and older), but this property does have it's drawbacks due to its age...even though we were in a room at the very end of the hall, the hallways are quite noisy and it is easy to hear all of the weekend guest's shenanigans late into the night. Because of the location, this hotel is busy all the time and there is a lot of coming and going until approximately 2:30 am on the weekends. If you don't mind that, everything else is what you would expect for a best western property of this type. The hotel does offer a complementary continental type breakfast, although we did not eat there as we were looking for something more substantial for a Sunday morning.

« Great Price, Great Location »

We stayed two nights over a weekend. This was very conveniently located to many attractions. Parking was free and the free breakfast was nice. The customer service was A+. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful. We took the shuttle and the driver (I don't remember her name) was exceptionally entertaining and full of helpful information. What a nice amenity the shuttle was! Breakfast was a buffet of scrambled eggs, sausage, make-your-own waffles, muffins, monkey bread, cereals, etc. Plus coffee was brought in from a local coffee house. The exterior of the hotel was nice with a small courtyard in the front and plenty of parking in front and in back of the hotel. There was a convenience store just next door, we walked over to grab some snacks one night. You could tell the rooms have been updated, but were still basic rooms, nothing extravagant. The noise level was what's to be expected at a hotel. We occasionally heard people talking in the hall, but it wasn't bothersome. I would definitely stay here again!

    « Good Stay »

Everything was as expected and people were very helpful. Breakfast is good and there is plenty of it. Good variety. Right next door is a quick shop with easy access to gas, snacks, and other necessary items. Hotel also has lots of things on hand in case you forget something. Handicap parking in the front parking lot makes is easier for us to load and unload. And the hotel is also handicap accessible. The location was perfect for our doctor's appointment at St. Luke's and area doctors. We stay there every time we go for an appointment.

« Good Price, great location »

This property is an older hotel, with some age showing....but it is very close to the Plaza area, has onsite parking, clean, and comfortable. We had a block of about 10 rooms, check-in was fairly smooth. Their breakfast area was very unique - both the room and the food. The price was significantly less than any of the other hotels in the area, and it was very acceptable!

« BEST WESTERN PLUS Seville Plaza Hotel »

This hotel was amazing. Close to the Plaza and provided a shuttle bus anywhere within a 3 mile radius. The staff was very helpful and informative. The breakfast was very presentable and delicious. The lobby was cute and clean. The room was clean and it was amazing, a great deal for a king room with a jacuzzi.

« CONVENIENT CLEAN REASONABLY PRICED »

Great hotel - best nights' sleep I've gotten for quite some time! Walking distance to Westport & The Plaza. The staff was SO friendly, she not only recommended a place to eat, she printed their menu out for us. My daughter had a gig at The Levee which was about 1/2 block away, it was a very easy walk both there & back. I'll definitely be staying there again!

« Poor treatment of Trip Advisor bookings »

Check in was very busy and understaffed. When we did finally get checked in, I was put on the bottom floor, right by the lobby. When I asked for a higher level room, I was told that these are the only rooms allowed for 3rd party booking and that in fact they are also their pet friendly rooms. I told the clerk I had pet allergies, she said she was so sorry but there is nothing she could do. I doubled up on my allergy medicine just to get through the night. The only reason I gave 2 dots is because the bed was comfortable, but then again, after two doses of allergy medicine any bed might have been comfortable. Everything else was terrible and I will never stay there again. I travel there annually for a competition and recommended it to the other families also. They were also unhappy with the hotel. We as a competitive team will never stay there again. I will not recommend it again. This hotel does not compare in the slightest to any hotel on the plaza. We chose it to save our families money but will not make that mistake again.

    « Great location »

This is an excellent location to access downtown and the Plaza. Very friendly staff at the desk and breakfast service, clean rooms, excellent breakfast. It could use some updates in the lobby and surrounding areas. We got in late from a concert and we were not bothered by the usual early morning hotel hallway noise, even though the hotel seemed to be full.

    5
« Great hotel at a reasonable price »

This hotel is a find. It was very clean, and conveniently located. We traveled with our dog. There was an additional $15 per day for the pet, but we were comfortable with that. The room appeared to have been recently updated. The bedding and towels were nice, and it was quiet. The hotel is close to the Plaza, art museums and Westport. It is close to downtown too. There is a convenience store next door. Keurig coffeemaker in the room.

    « Great staff, location, & value »

This was a great location while still being affordable. The rooms weren't special but were nice and clean. We were actually pleasantly surprised with the room and amenities given the price point and location of the room. I can't say enough about the staff. Everyone was incredible friendly. We were visiting colleges and each time we came back they asked us how our visits went, which way we were leaning, etc. It was extremely busy on our second night. The one front desk worker had at least 6 people in line all night. She was efficient, friendly, and treated everyone with respect. Beautiful decor & multiple seating areas with tv's as well as a grassed courtyard which is great if you're traveling with pets which they allow. Breakfast was on the better end for an included meal, it had typical continental stuff with the addition of waffles, monkey bread, eggs, sausage, hash browns, & biscuits & gravy (tuesdays only). They had free computers, wifi, and printers. As well as a free shuttle within a 3 mile radius which is great if you're traveling to campus or The Country Club Plaza where parking can be difficult. When we travel this way again we will definitely look at this hotel as an option.

« Great place to stay »

I stayed one night on business. Excellent front desk staff. Very helpful with information for visitors. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Didn't eat breakfast, but my business partner said it was good. Limited parking in the front of hotel but overall great experience. Nice and friendly staff.

    « Very, very nice! »

It is so nice to be able to take our dog when we travel. This hotel was so convenient for our trip to Kansas City, and it was perfect to be able to check our dog in with us. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Parking was convenient, although by morning it appeared to be scarce as the motel was quite full. Nevertheless, it was very quiet. And the breakfast was probably the best we have had at a motel/hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Such a positive experience.

    3
« Nice For One Night In A Fix »

It is just a simple hotel that was close to where we needed to be the next day. It was a last minute emergency and it was fine. The rooms need to be sounded proofed a little better. Listening to the neighbors TV at 1 in the morning isn't fun. And stay away from the ice machine if you want to sleep well at night. It cycles off and on all night.

    5
    « Great customer service »

Always the staff is helpful, friendly, and efficient. Beds and pillow are comfortable and breakfast is hot and complete (good scrambled eggs, sausage links, potatoes, and monkey bread) Always ice water and coffee available in the lobby.

    « Great Location! »

This Best Western is a hidden gem of Kansas City. We stayed overnight and the room was clean and relaxing. It was very close to the plaza and popular restaurants. Our only issue with the room was that the heater would keep turning on full blast for about 10 seconds at a time throughout the night. We turned it off, but it would keep turning on and intermittently discharge air. Needless to say, didn't get the best of sleep. Hopefully, they can get this issue fixed before we return.

    5
    « Fantastic Stay »

Great three night stay. Not only were the rooms comfortable and clean, the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Having traveled quite a bit for work, I've encountered plenty of smooth check-ins and hotel stays, but not much personality or genuine friendliness. Its not that I expect that from every person checking me in, but it does make the difference between just any old hotel and an experience pleasurable enough to stay here should I ever visit Kansas City again. The breakfasts were really convenient and well stocked and Charlie made it easy for us to have the best stay possible. We had to leave super early one morning and he made sure that everyone had a grab-n-go bag to take with us, which really saved me later when I didn't have time to get something to eat at the airport. He caught us off guard in the best way possible when we came back one night and he greeted us by name. Great guy right there!

    4
    « Enjoyed our stay »

Found the Best Western to be a very nice place to stay. Breakfast was excellent and the rooms were clean and quiet. One annoyance was their limitation on parking - only one car per room when the hotel is full, but as the hotel was not full the nights we were there it wasn't a significant issue.

    « Great trip »

Wonderful staff, breakfast and hotel. Had a wonderful time on the Country Club Plaza and this hotel is very close. Also a gas station right next door. The room was very clean and updated. Location is easy to drive to other activities - casino and shopping.

    « Finally made it »

Cozy, comfortable and friendly. No wonder it is always full and I have never been able to stay there before. Great breakfast and nice location to all things KC. The structure is older but well maintained. The bed was the best bed in a hotel we have slept on in the past year.

« Nice hotel on the Plaza »

This place was a pleasant surprise. In a good location if you want to be near the Plaza, really friendly helpful staff, nicely styled, offered shuttle service to the hot spots around town and was a good value. I'd stay there again.

    « Value and Location »

We were happy to find the room to be up to our expectations. I appreciated the excellent value for the location and plan on returning in future. We enjoyed walking to the Country Club Plaza several times, it took about 10 minutes, was safe, and had a good view of the city.

    « Christmas stay »

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Seville, primarily because it was close to the Country Club Plaza. We were an easy walking distance to both the Plaza and the Art Museums. It was easy to find, parking was easy. The room was very comfortable, beds were great! We would have liked to have a microwave in the room but made do with the one in the breakfast room. The staff was very friendly, despite it being Christmas! It seemed like they had a vested interest in the place, like it was their own to care for. The breakfast was good. Eggs, sausage, hashbrowns were a nice hearty way to start the morning! We even used the breakfast room later in the day to read--it was quiet and the seating was comfortable. We'd definitely recommend this place!

    « KCMO Visit »

Hotel was pleasant and clean. Only complaint would be that the mattresses were cheap and not as comfortable as possible. Good breakfast but the dining area was a bit crowded. Located near the Plaza on Main Street.

    4
    « Very Nice »

Very nicely decorated and the staff was very friendly. Right next door to Quick Trip so gas and snacks convenient. I think they could stand to get better mattresses but there were plenty of pillows. Breakfast was really good with lots to choose from. Nice outdoor patio. Too bad it was too cold to use it. Very limited parking. Only accommodates about a dozen cars. Not sure where parking is when it is full.

    « Great stay! »

Great weekend getaway in Kansas City! The hotel is perfectly located to walk to Westport and the Plaza -- we didn't move our car the entire weekend. The service is excellent and our room was exceptionally clean and quiet. This is an older hotel that has been well-maintained and provides a great value. We would definitely stay again!

    « Great Stay »

Quiet shuttle to Plaza was nice. The breakfast was hot and good. Parking in front cramped but was a nice place to stay. Front desk staff were very helpful and kind. They seemed ever concerned about how our stay was.

    « Excellent value »

We stayed here so that our daughter could visit Kansas City Art Institute, as she has applied there. The location is excellent, right next to the school. Other hotels in the area are very expensive; we were very pleasantly surprised by the excellent value and we will be back! Very clean, and the front desk staff went above and beyond every day.

    3
« Nice place to stay »

Nice older hotel that was very clean and comfortable with friendly staff. The layout is a bit quirky with odd steps to different levels. Parking was easy but I expect it may be more of a challenge during busy times. The breakfast was standard fare, nothing special. Two things that I deem to be issues are the noisy bathroom fan that sounded like it was about to fall out of the ceiling and ice machines not on all floors requiring a ride in the elevator or a hike up the stairs.

had a great time . We had a room with the hot tub. Would do it again in a heartbeat! it was a great get away from our three teenagers. the room was clean and quite. hot tub was spacious and we were about to watch the TV from it.

« Less than I would have hoped »

We dropped something on the floor and it rolled toward the bed. When we bent down we found human toe nail clipping on the floor that had never be vaccumed. Discusting. It was too late at night to do anything about it, so we did not tell the front desk. Also, we asked for extra pillows when we checked in at 4 and when we didn't get them, we asked again at 6;30 and were told that there weren't any to be had.

    5
« Little Gem in KC near Country Club Plaza »

We were there for just one night, but was very pleased with the check in process, the lobby, the breakfast and the room. It was closed to the Plaza and to anything in the general vicinity. They offer a free shuttle service on Fridays and Saturdays within a 3 mile radius. We did not take advantage of it but might consider it next time. We were in a room on the 4th floor facing Main st, you could hear the traffic but it was not too bad. We were able to sleep in until 8am which is not the normal for us. Great place to stay and enjoy what the town has to offer. The breakfast was a full breakfast. There were not that many places to sit but we managed to get a spot.

    4
    « In the middle »

In the middle of the Plaza and Westport and reasonably priced. The coffee maker was broke but that is my only complaint. It can be a little loud in the evening but that is part of the location and part of the reason this place is great for night life.

« Nice location, great service, great price »

This hotel is walking distance to the Plaza, the art museum, WW1 Museum and many other attractions - at a great price compared to the major brands (especially with the breakfast included). It is a little older, but well maintained, with large rooms, ample parking and a wonderful staff

« Good value worth the stay »

We have stayed at another hotel chain a block away previously. Though I did not review that hotel I would say the two are very similar The building is older but the company has done a good job with remodeling while maintaining its charm. The room was clean and spacious we had two queen beds in our room and even with our own "stuff " we had brought with us. The pillows were GREAT and plentiful. The beds comfortable.and everything in the room was clean. The positioning of the lamps could have been planned better as the one with the extra plug ins for accessories was across the room am not near the beds. With no available outlets near the bed it made it difficult to plug in the phones that were our alarms and immediate link to the kids hat were not with us and staying home. We overcame by unplugging the clock radio and lamp near the bed The breakfast was not great but also not bad. The space in the room to eat was limited but the community tables were fine. Though I am not sure yet can overcome the problems of "flow" given the design and use of the available space people did seem to trip over themselves as they tried to make their breakfast plates. It just needs a civil engineer or design engineer to figure out a better system. But since I know that won't occur just be prepared for limited seating and congestion in the breakfast area The day staff was excellent, friendly, and helpful. The heck in staff. Well you could tell it was near the end of a long day. And while their wasn't unfriendliness there was a curt was that spoke "it's been a long day" Overall I would stay here again and I would tell my friends too as well. The price of our room made this one that I would definitely tell anyone to stay at. In fact it was the price thy moved this from average to above average

    « Great staff »

The hotel in itself was very comfortable and was also very close to an area called the plaza. This area has just about every kind of restaurant that one would want. The 3 I tried were all outstanding. As for the staff of this hotel I can't begin to say how great they all were. They were very attentive ,helpful and courteous. They were the ones that recommended where to eat. And a special thanks to Joseph at the front desk , who helped guide me in off of the freeway and then called me back on direction change , then called back again to make sure I was still doing ok. Overall one of the best staff I have come across.

    « Welcoming »

The Best Western Plus is now on the top of my list for hotels to stay in while in Kansas City. My wife and I celebrated our 10 wedding anniversary and couldn't have been more impressed with the professionalism and outgoing nature of the staff. They were polite and answered all of our questions. We will continue to stay there as long as there are rooms available!!...

« Great place to stay in KC »

This is an excellent place to stay when you are visiting Kansas City. Very close to the Country Club Plaza with all kinds of shopping and dining as well as other KC attractions. Extremely friendly staff, and a great breakfast and comfortable room. Looking forward to our next stay there.

    « Good value »

The hotel has the charm of an older hotel. It was clean & comfortable & reasonably priced. Very good free breakfast, although not many tables to sit. Very friendly staff. Good location. We would definitely stay here again.

    « Friendly staff »

Chose Best Western Plus from Trip Advisor for its location and price. My group was extremely pleased with the friendly staff that greeted us throughout our stay. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was changeable daily and kept fresh. The staff were the highlight though. Very friendly. We will return because of them

    « You Are NOT A Number »

The hotel has some challenges, in particular steps everywhere. But if you are mobile, the people at this hotel are extraordinarily well-trained and attentive to details. They must be well-treated because in turn they exude kindness and excellence. What an unusual experience. We were a group of traveling older friends and all of us thought the experience was palpably different. Full breakfast spread laid out with care, refreshed constantly by staff that really cared.

    « Highly recommended! »

The front desk staff are very courteous, helpful, friendly and efficient. The room was very nice, too, with a comfortable king bed. Clean and well-kept for the age of the hotel. Very good breakfast. Quaint back patio with a gas fire pit for relaxing a while. I would call this hotel a 'best buy.' Much less expensive than other hotels in the area and just as nice. Location is a plus. Walking distance to the Plaza and Westport, and close to a nice "fitness trail" hosts many runners, if you are an active person.

« Clean, great location, and value »

Great location, close to country club plaza for shopping and restaurants. Room was clean and nicely updated. The hotel almost has a boutique feel. The bed was extremely comfortable! I would definitely stay again!

« Great Valuje near Country Club Plaza »

This hotel offers a good value with excellent proximity to Country club Plaza and the Kemper and Nelson Atkins museum. Free parking and a short walk to any of these places. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is acceptable , quarters a bit tight for finding anyplace to sit and eat. The lobby does not have a lot of space to sit and relax quietly as it is sub divided into three levels.

    « A Great Place To Stay!! »

I highly recommend the Best Western Plus Seville Plaza Hotel in Kansas City, MO! This hotel has a wonderful staff--everyone was friendly and helpful. The location is great, it is easy to get to and really close to the plaza (of course) and St. Luke's Hospital (the reason for our stay in KC), but it is also close to several other attractions. It was a fairly easy and short drive to visit a World Market and the Ikea store. This hotel is not a new facility, but well-kept with a certain charm about it--plus it serves a wonderful complimentary breakfast! I would definitely stay there again!

« Great location in Kansas city »

The staff is great and would help in any way they can. The room was comfortable, had an individual Keurig coffee maker and high speed internet. We will go back when we are in the area. Super location to the Plaza area.

« The Class and History of Kansas City »

This is a hotel in the middle of the old history of Kansas City and full of class. The hotel was clean, updated and had a New Orleans feel. It also was located centrally and easy access to the city. The staff was friendly and helpful. They seem to care about hospitality and the comfort of their guests.

    « Nice hotel »

I try and stay here every time I go to KC. It is a good value for the money , people are nice and the breakfast is ok. It is really close to the Country Club Plaza which is nice if you want to hit some great shops and restaurants.

    « Ok stay »

Hotel is a little older and the rooms seemed that way as well. There is definitely not enough seating or room in the breakfast area or elsewhere in the hotel. Some of the staff was unfriendly and more worried about eating than answering our questions. It was an ok stay.

    « Always consistant »

Always clean, friendly, and helpful. Free shuttle, great breakfast that is probably a $15 value per person, close to UMKC with special rates, Free evening margaritas always a plus! Would recommend to individuals or families.

« The leaves are beautiful »

If you are looking for something kind of tucked away in the thick of things this is the place. On Main Street not far from a few museums and shopping and other landmark food places. Lamar's donuts, Gates BBQ, go chicken go- ate my way around KC and it was all within a 2 mile radius. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. One morning they had monkey bread- now who does that!!! You won't be sad if you book a room!

« Great place to stay! »

The hotel is clean; the staff is friendly; the location is perfect! My husband and I stay at this hotel every time we visit the area. The free (just tip the driver) shuttle service they provide is incredibly convenient. We highly recommend it! :)

    « Good Experience Overall »

Overall, a good experience. The whole Spanish/Seville theme could be dropped in my opinion, because it makes the place seem outdated. However, it's a fairly decent breakfast (included). Except, the breakfast area is cramped, so when it is bustling in there, you have to dodge other guests, waiting for them to pass through a small pathway. The design is not really good of the breakfast area. Nice variety of food, however. Very nice bed. They keep everything very clean. The elevator is outdated and noisy, however. Oh well, for the price, it was just something to deal with. Staff is very nice and helpful.

« Cost effective choice with great service and good amenities »

Booked hotel to attend the Chiefs v Steelers game and happy with our stay. Great balance between price and the service/amenities received. While there are other hotels in the area (Plaza, Westport, Power & Light) that have upscale decor they also come with upscale pricing. Seville Plaza is an excellent option for those who want charming and quaint with excellent customer service. Complimentary breakfast was good and filling. Number one option: monkey bread!! Yaay! Other choices included eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, bagels, oatmeal, and condiments including salsa and shredded cheddar cheese. Apple juice, orange juice, iced water, cocoa and good coffee. Location is excellent to get to many places around. There was a lot of food choices nearby--particularly in the Plaza district where we ate at Jack Stacks and Chuy's. Loved the complimentary parking. There is a larger parking lot located behind the property but we lucked out both nights and got parking in the front. Cute lights at the front, and ample seating areas outside to enjoy the air. Got around easy to various areas in the city. 15 minutes to Arrowhead, Walmart in Independence, and Cracker Barrel. QT's right next door was convenient for getting the little things we needed. Didn't have to use the shuttle, but liked the idea of having it in case we wanted to. Rooms were good. In order to see the variety, we checked in the first night to a standard King room. Nice and large with a sofa bed. Second night we checked into the King room with Jacuzzi. Probably best decision we made after walking a million miles at Arrowhead earlier that day. Again, spacious but there is no outlet plug on the side of the bed nearest the jacuzzi. Not a big deal since there is one atop the tv but if you are someone who wants to lie in bed and use electronics while it is charging, only one person can utilize it using the desk on the left side of the bed. Maybe that was just our room though?! Beds and pillows were supremely comfortable. We returned home and are currently buying a new bed because of it! There are signs around that says they are renovating. Didn't see/hear anything of that nature but the interior of the hallways were a little dark (stayed on 3rd and 4th floor). Since I have no reason to be in the hallways for long periods of time, it didn't bother me. Heard absolutely no noise from outside. If I had to choose the "worst" thing here, it would be the lone elevator that takes some time to move. Again, though, not a deal breaker and is sufficient for the cute hotel. Overall, Best Western Seville is a great choice and we will be returning here for the next trip into KC.

    « Quaint »

If you enjoy a small quaint hotel you will enjoy this one. 4 stories with a small indoor/outdoor seating area. We were with out of town family members so it was nice to sit outside at the patio area. Restaurants were within 4 blocks of the hotel.

    « Upgrade! »

Checked in the room and immediately used the bathroom after a 5 hour drive. The toilet wouldn't flush. Called the front desk and they upgraded us to a new room with a jacuzzi. They didn't make it a big deal. They also had a shuttle that brought us to our dinner reservation on the plaza and picked us up again after the meal and brought us to the power and light district.

« Being renovated, but close to the nice stuff »

Had no trouble finding this place, but parking up front is tight for checking in, that being said, make sure you bring in your luggage while you're in the front, because there are a lot of stairs from the back parking lot. There are still a few from the front but not nearly as much. Once you've checked in and got your luggage in, you can pull around the block to park in the back. There's a little patio back there, and even a little fountain with lights in the front, so you have a few places to be outside with your coffee or whatever even though the hotel itself doesn't take up a lot of real estate. The lobby area is nice with sort of a dated spanish tile thing going on, and the cute hipster guy at check in was really nice. Up the elevator a floor and there was a sign in the hallway to "please pardon our renovation process--please come back and see what we've done!" Our room was the first off the elevator and I wondered if the rooms down the hall were still being worked on. Our room was nice--sometimes the paint was on old surfaces so you could still see that it was old concrete/stucco walls, but overall the decor was nice. There was a floor lenght mirror next to bathroom firmly mounted to the wall, but it was crooked and vertical stripe wallpaper behind that made it painfull obvious. We were able to budge the mirror a little, but that drove me crazy! There's a tiny kitchen-stuff stand by the door. The bathroom looked about haflway through its renovation--it was a fairly open room with a tub and sink crammed to one side, a toilet and a big mirror on the other, and no counter space at all. I suspect they'll change all that around in the future, but there was a chair in the corner, so we ended up putting a lot of our toiletries on that. Breakfast was in a great little room off the lobby with a big sharing table and some smaller spots, and breakfast was above average and I remember really enjoying it. The hotel is near the whole plaza area, and you could walk there in under 20 minutes. If you walk a block west towards the hospital, there's a green space with a winding sidewalk all the way down to the plaza area. It's also only about a 5 minute drive and there's free parking.

« Best Value in Town »

The Best Western Seville is absolutely the best value for a hotel stay in the Kansas City area, especially the Country Club Plaza. The location is perfect:on Main Street, just off the Plaza and close to the Westport area. It's an older hotel but perfectly maintained with a wonderful staff dedicated to your comfort. The breakfast is exceptional. Some areas are dated but are being updated. The only downside is the internet service seems to "time out" fairly often. I wouldn't even consider any other motel in the area.

Great stay in KC. Staff was very helpful and caring. We were so happy we could bring our dog. Breakfast was like a giant family gathering. Everyone chatting and making new friends. The food was good and the guests and staff made our stay great.

    « A Good Bargain »

Within easy walking distance of the Country Club Plaza, and a better price than spendy Plaza hotels. In-room Keurig was a nice touch. We had the hottub room - very enjoyable! Ample parking, friendly staff. Only downside was the lumpy pillows. I would stay here again.

« Comfortable, convenient hotel recommended »

We loved our stay at this hotel. Staff and service were great, hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was good, though could have used better fruit. Internet connection was good. It's very conveniently located for us -- within walking distance of Nelson-Atkins and Kemper galleries, the Plaza, and pleasant walking in Penn Valley park. We will return to this hotel and recommend it to others.

« Great shuttle and price »

Selected this hotel over another in the area due to the free parking and free Internet. Shuttle was great to get me where I needed to be and on time. Great breakfast; staff made sure all items were available. Was not aware of overflow parking in rear, which would have helped when I arrived and no spots were available in front.

    « Very nice »

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good as well as the décor of the eating and TV area. Used the shuttle and enjoyed the outdoor seating. Rooms are basic and sufficient. Hotel is close to Plaza I did not walk but took the shuttle which is only available after 4 PM. We took a cab to Crown Center for around $10. The overall stay was great and we were very impressed with the staff they all appeared to like their job!! The price was super especially so close to the Plaza. I would recommend staying here.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel about 7 times now. It's our favorite affordable hotel in the area. The staff is always super-friendly. The rooms are consistently clean and tidy. The shuttle is so handy if you are traveling in the area. I definitely recommend this hotel!
