« Excellent Three Stars Hotel »

We booked Le Grand Pavois for my parents that came to visit us last Saturday. The hotel is a historical building built in the 30s. The lobby has recently been restored and it is really beautiful. The hallways and the rooms are very well decorated, clean and definitely good value for the region and for what you get. An excellent three stars hotel!

    « Disgraceful dishonest thieves! »

Booked a room here for my mother and a friend to stay for two nights and used my card to secure the booking. My friend paid the whole amount for 2 nights but about a month later I noticed a one night charge on my card from this hotel. Having noted the error to and asking for a refund for the incorrect charge it then took months of chasing and having to show proof (including very invasively having to ask my friend to provide her bank statement and also having to send mine). They finally advised a refund would be processed about 2 weeks ago and then I got an email today from advising the hotel refused to put through the refund, even though I provided the evidence to prove they had overcharged. Incidentally, I recommended this hotel to a number of my friends at the time as we were getting married nearby and the hotel seemed well located and reasonably priced. Unfortunately whilst that may be true, it's considerably less well priced when they steal from you and a number of my friends who did stay here were not that impressed with the rooms so I would strongly recommend you stay away - there are plenty of nice hotels in Juan-les-Pins where you won't have to put up with this nonsense!

« Great Hotel in Juan Les Pins »

My friend and I had a wonderful break at the Best Western Le Grand Pavois Hotel in beautiful Juan Les Pins. From check-in to departure our experience at this hotel was wonderful. The hotel is spotlessly clean, bright and airy. We had booked a comfort room, so it was larger than a standard one and had the added advantage of a balcony. There is a decent sized bathroom with a shower/bath. Our package included a breakfast each morning, you could have either an English breakfast or a continental breakfast. There was a plentiful supply of juices, breads, jams, cereals, cold meats and fruits each morning. The hotel is located in a quiet area of Juan Les Pins, but it is only a 10 minute walk to Juan Les Pins Centre and train station. The staff are very friendly and obliging.

    « Stylish and convenient »

Stayed for one night at the end of our holiday. Very stylish Art Deco entrance lobby and lounge. We arrived early (about 12.30pm), expecting to have to leave our luggage, but our room was ready. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a junior suite which was spacious and had a sunny balcony, but the view was obstructed by a huge derelict hotel, currently a building site. Very comfy bed. Decor a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. Excellent a/c. Very conveniently located, close to the beach and short walk through a park to the town centre. The hotel has a partnership with La Provencal on the Beach, and we had a superb meal there.

« Smart Art Deco hotel close to sea front »

Spent 2 nights at this Best Western. The entrance and reception were extremely smart and had a lovely Art Deco style to them. Our room was a standard one without a balcony but offered all the expected amenities - free fast Wi-Fi, safe, tea & coffee making facilties - and was very comfortable. We didn't have breakfast (expensive at €15) and preferred to walk to one of the many nearby cafes. Parking was a problem - the streets are jam packed with vehicles (including the loading only space outside the entrance!). The underground hotel car park is not connected to the hotel, is down the street and involves 2 steep ramps to access - not very good when carrying luggage to and from your room - this should be made clear on the website. A fellow guest was very close to damaging his car coming up from the car park. Whilst we found the hotel itself very satisfactory and in a great position for bars and the sea front, the parking situation means we wouldn't consider going back.

« Beautiful Art Deco hotel with cozy beds »

Bedroom was beautiful and spacious The bed was the most comfortable so far on our whole trip (12 hotels so far some 4 & 5 star) staff were excellent Loved the hotels Art Deco flavour, The staff were very friendly and professional, and a very short walk to the beach.

« Good hotel, let down by the service »

We arrived at the hotel around 1pm to be told our room wasn't ready and to return at 3pm (which was fine). When we returned at 3pm we were told, in a very unhelpful manner, that the room still wasn't ready. Having been travelling from 5am we expected a better reception, but quickly learnt that the receptionist in question wasn't very helpful nor friendly! A cold drink would not have been too much to expect. When we eventually got to our room we were disappointed to find it had twin beds rather than the queen bed we'd requested. When I spoke to the receptionist about this he told me it would be sorted the next day. The next day all that happened was that the twin beds had been made up as a double - hardly what we expected. Whilst the receptionist offered us a different room, we decided to avoid the hassle of packing/unpacking and stay where we were. Especially as we had s room with a good view. The next issue was with the mini bar which didn't keep anything cold. We complained about this but were told "it's not a fridge" - hardly very helpful. We had to ask for ice every day so we could enjoy a cold drink. Whilst the room had a safe, it was extremely small and was difficult to access. It was a good job I'm tall! Throughout our 6 night stay, we found the receptionist grumpy and generally unhelpful - not what you would expect from a hotel. Despite the above, we liked the hotel and room. The hotel is well located just a few minutes walk to the bars/restaurants. The room (417) was spacious, well fitted out and comfortable, with a lovely view over the town and sea. Parking is available for €8 per day, but we managed to park in the streets nearby without too much trouble. Breakfast is available for €15 per day (we didn't partake). I would have liked to have rated this hotel 5 out of 5, but the service let it down.

    « Best Western »

Close to the beach. Very helpful staff. They gave us excellent advice. Room was fine. We had a balcony view whicj wad great to enjoy some wine. Would've have liked some English channels on TV. Breakfast was fine but didn't like the coffee machine.

    « Relaxing hotel »

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights with a group of friends. The receptionist was most helpful on checking in.Rooms are a good size, with tea/coffee and a good sized bathroom. The hotel is a short walk to the beach and near to some local restaurants. We enjoyed the location of the hotel with no complaints.

« good place to stay »

? stayed for 2 days for my business trip in 2016 June. Otel and room is standard. Good for just staying in the good city Antibes. Personel of the otel is not so good. They are smiling everytime but too slow. They give me a room that is not cleaned. After some discussions I could manage to clean my room. Overall performace is goodi I can't say something about price because I was totally guest in Nice. A guy stayed next to my room said that his wallet was stolen and can't find you did it. I don't know weather he find or not.

    « Hotel near beach »

This hotel is about 200 metres to the beach. You get a special rate for sun beds and towels. Hotel is good. Lovely lounge. Restaurant only for breakfast, very good breakfast for €12. We were upgraded and had a very large bedroom with a balcony. Room had a fridge. The reception staff Aurora (think that's how it is spelt) and Joanna were excellent. They were so helpful in every way. They translated for us as we had our dog with us and had a dog sitter for a day who couldn't speak English. We did have a problem wth the air conditioning, it didn't work and it was reported twice but nothing got done. It was uncomfortable at night because it was some warm and we couldn't leave balcony door open or windows because of the dog. Very disappointed and annoyed that the fault didn't get addressed.

    « Old fashioned charm »

Good stuff: Great location History Upgraded to big spacious room Deal at lovely private beach nearby Big bed Bad stuff: Tiny green spiders Noisy neighbours/guests Expensive breakfast Ask for quiet room Try and have a deal including breakfast

« Return to a much loved destination »

Although refurbished since our last visit, it remains a wonderful place to base yourself for a holiday close to Juan les pins, Antibes and the fantastic cote d'Azure. Lovely friendly staff, clean and comfortable and breakfast was of a good standard.

« Nice, affordable Hotel in a beautiful neighbourhood »

We liked this simple, no-frills-hotel, everything was in place and nice. The breakfast room is large and beautiful and the lobby has nice, comfortable furniture where you can meet your friends. The staff is very friendly and allowed us to keep our luggage in their (locked) luggage room until evening. One small improvement suggestion: Keep some more milk in the tea/coffee/tray in the room - the tiny 5ml plastic vessel is rather insufficient to brew your own tea/coffee :-)...

« Liked it so much we came back »

Having spent an enjoyable week at the hotel in October we decided that we would like to come back in the spring. Before booking I did look at other hotels that had caught my eye in October but to be honest the difference in price (at least double) simply wasn't worth it. The rooms at Le Grand Pavois are spacious, well equipped, the hotel is a lovely example of Art Deco style, the location is great, we made good use of the fridge. our balcony which had a fabulous view, as well as the rooftop terrace. Staff are polite and friendly. There's a bar. What's not to like? I don't think this will be our last visit.

« Teddy Frost at Best Western Le Grand Pavois. Juan Les Pins »

I recommend this hotel. The hotell is Art Deco architecture and well maintained and with a good staff. The breakfast is delicious. You will simply love it. Tha facilities around the reception as well as the connection with the garden facilities are remarkable.

« Excellent Price Quality ratio »

This hotel was very cheap for a 3 star and had excellent price/quality ratio. Very nice lobby and dining room, nice and comfortable room; excellent location, 100 yards away from city center and 50 yards from beach with beautiful view from its hilltop overlooking the entire bay area. Staff was very nice and helpful.

« An absolute gem of a hotel. They should charge triple!!! »

Get one room up with balcony... make the most of it. Perfect location, incredible town. Amazing hotel all in all... surely the best Western crowning jewel!? We preferred by far to a 5 star close by.. That should say it all....

« Nicely located, appealing room »

Stayed for three nights for a conference in the nearby Expo centre, which was no more than five minutes to walk to. The hotel is situated in a pleasant, quiet street and is a short walk from the beach, although this feels like more of a business hotel than one for a holiday. The room had everything I needed, including wifi, and was spacious and presentable. The view of the "courtyard" wasn't so hot, particularly as my booking receipt (I later noticed) said "sea view"! Breakfast was a little spartan, but adequate. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and eager to help and provided us with two excellent recommendations for dinner (rather than pointing us towards the hotel dining room).

« Four Day French Riviera Adventure »

We travelled as two couples and stayed for 4 nights, our rooms were very clean and spacious with a wonderfully comfortable bed. All areas of the hotel are bright and airy decorated to a good standard. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was of buffet style, there was a good choice of lovely pastries and a nice selection of meats and fresh fruit. The hotel is situated within walking distance to the local shops, cafes, restaurants and the train station giving access to Nice, Caines and Monte Carlo. The beaches are also within easy reach. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would make a return visit.

    « Absolutely amazing... a gem of a hotel in Juan-les-Pins »

We had an utterly incredible time at the Best Western Le Grand Pavois and I could not recommend it highly enough. The hotel is ideally situated in Juan-les-Pins and is less than a 5 minute walk (through a lovely park) to the centre of town and to the awesome beaches. It is also an easy (700m) walk from Juan-les-Pins station (we managed it easily with luggage and a pram). The hotel is beautiful - the entrance area is lovely with a great bar and a superb grand piano in the centre that guests are encouraged to play. The staff were all absolutely superb and incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was just amazing for a 3-star hotel. Ours was palatial in size (the biggest room I have stayed in in France) with: a lovely balcony and sea views, unbelievably comfortable bed, fridge, tea-and-coffee making facilities and a great bathroom with a big bath. We were travelling with a baby and there was plenty of room for prams, travel cots etc. It truly was a home away from home (we didn't want to leave). The wifi was free and worked fine. We did not have breakfast at the hotel but instead went to some of the lovely bakeries and cafes in Juan-les-Pins and Antibes. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough - it is a winner and incredible value for money. I truly did not believe you could stay in a hotel like this for the price we paid - we cannot wait to stay here again. Juan-les-Pins is our new favorite place to stay in the South of France, It is a lovely village the is conveniently located - two train stops from Cannes, an easy 15-minute walk to Antibes and approximately 30-minutes on the train to Nice.

« Nice hotel, great location »

We stayed here while on a group tour. The room was very nice and quiet, patio had a view, the bed comfortable - it was overall a very good experience. The breakfast was better than average. Short walk to the beach and restaurants. I would recommend this hotel.

« Spacious & good for business stay only »

Moderate on everything except good breakfast is a plus point. Business staying is ok but leisure shall go for others. Tips: parking you shall arrange your own,no complimentary car park space provided.

« Elegant Hotel in a Stylish Town »

Beautiful Art Deco hotel just a short walk from the beach. Lovely large room, freshly decorated and with a good sized en suite. Complimentary water and sweets. Appreciated having a fridge in the room and there was an ironing room on the second floor. Good views from the balcony which we made good use of. Enjoyed a bit of sunbathing on the 5th floor roof terrace. The Rotunde Bar complete with piano is stunning but was sadly underused while we were there. There is also a mezzanine floor with an area for billiards. We didn't bother with the continental breakfast as we thought 210 euros for a the week was a bit steep. But the accommodation was excellent value. Bar prices were also good. We had a lovely stay and would certainly stay again. With regards to location if you were going for the annual jazz festival it would be a perfect choice. Lots of eateries, beach bars, bars and fashionable shops nearby. Very easy to get to from Nice Airport. 250 bus from bay 6 takes around 40 mins and costs 15 euros return. Hotel is a 15 minute stroll from the bus stop. 10 minutes from the train station (excellent rail line and very cheap fares).

    « nice hotel »

nice hotel perfect for our needs close to everything , we didn't spend much time in the hotel as there is so much to do , we spent 4 days there we didn't have breakfast , but it looked ok , but for 30 euro for 2 people was a little pricey for what you get , there are lots of café in walking distance, room was cleaned every day , the only disappointment was that the balcony was tiny , would have no problem staying here again

    « AMAZING! »

Just wanted to give a quick review of this hotel. We stayed here for the past week and it was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! The staff were so friendly and were s kind and encouraging with my attempts to talk to them in French (merci mille fois!) But the hotel itself was also just as good! The room was a great size and was impressively decorated. The breakfast offering was also wonderful and provided a great choice each day! There isn't much else to say other than this was a wonderful hotel and it is definitely a hidden gem! Could not give enough praise for the hotel and it's staff - thank you so much!!

    « Nice stop gap »

We stayed here for one night as part of are travel along the south coast. Reception area is impressive and staff very welcoming , helpful and polite. The room was an ok size but felt slightly dated. There is no pool at this hotel so bathing is beach only which gets very very busy and finding a spot can be difficult , you can choose one of the many private areas but this comes at a cost. Breakfast was ok, buffet style affair. Was glad it was only for the one night , the hotel lacks feel.

« Serviceable but not sexy »

Stayed with friends for a reunion 7 nights. The physical property is nice for French standards and mediocre for US standards. Regarless it is a good value and has great air conditioning. For service, room and location it is ok. There were instances of great customer service like a wonderful front desk person who let us take a shower after check low lights of another front desk person who was down right rude and at one point referred basic tourist questions to the tourist bureau. I mention this because I fear this is what Best Western trained her and it may not be her issue. Maid service was excellent, overall cleanliness impeccable. On balance it is OK not to be avoided.

« Very good choice in Juan Les Pins »

We visited Juan Les Pins for the Jazz Festival and the location of this hotel could not have been more perfect. Close to the gardens, beach and nightlife. The staff was very friendly and helpful, bed was comfortable and the aircon worked very well. The breakfast left much to be desired, so I suggest going elsewhere.

« Home Away from Home »

I arrived in Juan les Pins intending to stay for a week but ended up staying for almost 2 months, during which time this friendly and incredibly well situated hotel became my home. This was my first experience of the South of France and I have well and truly fallen in love with both the place and the people. It's simply stunning and exudes an understated elegance I didn't expect. My room was very spacious and perfect for me with a lovely little balcony and a handy fridge. I still miss my morning coffee on the hotel terrace and more to the point, my glass (bottle) of red in the evening (late afternoon)! All of the staff were wonderful and made me feel incredibly welcome and very comfortable throughout my extended stay. I work in the hotel industry and have enormous respect for this small team who are relaxed, professional and hard working. I didn't generally bother with breakfast as I thought it was overpriced and of course, as an Englishwoman, I would have expected more for my €15..... the odd bit of bacon and some scrambled eggs to help soak up the aforementioned red wine. In any event, some cheese and bread did the trick when necessary and on those occasions it was money well spent. A very, very special thank you to the wonderful Sebastian who is a great front of house and a real asset to the hotel. It often amazes me in this industry that so many of us in hospitality are in fact incredibly inhospitable (not me, of course). Sebastian is everything a great receptionist should be and he'd be a happy addition to any 5 star in the UK. This hotel is a great base for any visit to the South of France. Within walking distance of Antibes and a short train journey from Cannes. To be honest, I was happy to spend most of my time in the beautiful Juan les Pins and can't wait to return. Don't arrive expecting an all singing, all dancing 5 star guest experience. This place is honest, clean (with a very lovely Head Housekeeper), and I think provides good value for money considering it's location and room size. Go on, give it a try! If you don't get on with it, spend your hard earned cash at one of the plethora of super luxurious 5 stars on it's doorstep.

« An excellent hotel with very attentive staff! »

We recently took our family, including our children, their spouses, and two toddlers, on a trip to Europe. Since our return flight left from Nice, I thought it would be fun to spend our last three nights at a site near there; and I found Le Grand Pavois well recommended on TripAdvisor. All of us were delighted with the accommodations, the wonderful location--a mere 5 minute walk to a beautiful white sand beach!---and the staff, who were most helpful. Our rooms, although not huge, were relatively large by European standards, and were very modern, clean, and comfortable--and included both a small refrigerator and a safe. Breakfast at 15 euros per person offered a variety of yogurts, cheeses, meats, fruits, breads, pastries, and cereals and included an espresso machine. There is a wonderful children's playground in a park en route to the beach that our grandchildren totally enjoyed. Adjacent to it are a small "carnival" train and merry-go-round, too, as special "treats!" We found the hotel , considering its location, to be a good value and would definitely plan to stay there again if we are visiting the area.

« Best Western Grand Pavois in Juan les Pins »

Great location, very clean and the room was lovely with a great view of the Mediterranean. The staff were courteous and attentive. We asked to be moved to a room with a view and were immediately accommodated. There were English speakers at the desk which was very helpful.

We would recommend this hotel and would likely come back for another visit. Only one weak point, the internet connection: it allows to connect only equipment at a time, which is really sub standard especially in the perspective of having events in the coming new convention center.
