    « Excellent Stay...made our trip fantastic »

Hi guys. I visited the property with my wife between 17 and 23 November 2016. Must say it was a lovely and extremely comfortable stay. Free shuttle from Ataturk Airport. Good speedy check in. Free upgrade to junior suite. Lovely 2 sided view - city as well as sea view. Huge room for the price. Lovely and ample breakfast. Could be better with some turkish delight. The room had everything u need, even got a kettle with free tea stuff etc. Complimentary water bottles each day. Nice house keeping each day. The hotel has sauna, jacuzzi and turkish hamman. All of these you can reserve privately. No lunch or dinner restaurant. But could order from bar. Now the best part.....The Management! Headed by super-dedicated Mr Dogan Bozku?, the team of reception guys Erdal, Kemal and mustafa and not to miss email guy Mr Ustunol, it was just great. The GM Mr Dogan went all the to prepare the spa and health club for us with a pipe when the guy from spa went somewhere. And most gratwful to him for getting us a shuttle back to the airport free of cost! Mr Mustafa even gave us an istanbul card to use during the stay. The area is not bad at all....Aksaray and vezneciler tram metro stations nearby. We even walked up and down to Hagia Sophia with ease. So all in all it was a 5 star stay.

    « Par Excellence »

Hello guys. Me and my wife are living in this hotel right now. So far excellence has prevailed in all aspects. Free upgrade to junior suite and the room is almost similar to what is described in pictures at most sights. The breakfast could be just a tiny bit better, only hinting at extending variety. Mustafa is the concierge, receptionist etc etc. Good at everything. Rooms are made everyday, a kettle was required: promptly provided. Bathrobes, amenities all there and good too. The location is peace and quiet at night, although it is busy in the morning. Both aksaray and vezniciler tram or metros are very near. So far we r loving it.

    « Brilliant Stay....... »

I don't usually write reviews but I just had to for this wonderful hotel which was topped off by brilliant customer service. From the moment me and my wife checked in we knew this was going to be special trip. The manager decided to upgrade our room for free and offer us breakfast delivered to our room service, as my wife was pregnant. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast and restaurant was amazing. Only a short distance from all the amazing sites in Istanbul making it a prime location. Also having a shop right opposite for all your snacks was very handy and saved me a lot of money. Definitely would stay again and recommend to family and friends. Thank you to all the staff.

    « A great hotel »

Tasty food, clean rooms, polite stuff. The hotel is nearby to the famous sights. There is a parking!!! It was rainy while our stay and the hotel has provided umbrellas to his guests. It's was a nice surprise for us.

    « I would come back »

If you like walking, everything is near you. The check in was a little rough, but everything else was great. Best things about it the perfect attitude of the staff, and the lovely quite sleeping. You can see the sea from here. A market in front of the hotel. A nice breakfast.

    « A Great Hotel »

The hotel is fantastic! It was a close walk to plenty of shops and sights in the city. The hotel amenities are incredible and there is a variety of breakfast choices. The staff are very nice and accommodating. Overall it was a great experience!

« A Nice (and Reasonably Priced) Base for Exploring Istanbul »

We stayed here for three nights while exploring Istanbul before a Mediterranean cruise. The hotel is clean and comfortable ... very true to Best Western European standards. The bathroom had adequate amenities and large towels (an unusual plus). We had reliable wireless in the room. Air conditioning worked fine. The room was quiet. Breakfast (included in our rate) was ample but really just okay in terms of quality. Location is in the old city but it is NOT close to the major attractions (Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque). It is close to the metro, though we didn't use it. The hotel IS very close to another mosque (sorry, I've forgotten the name) from the 17th century or so. The mosque is beautiful and, since it isn't on the "A" list, it isn't mobbed or touristy. We booked through Hotels.com and the rate was very attractive.

« Good service, clean hotel. »

The location could be better, it was my first time going to Istanbul so I wasn't sure what area so book. There isn't much around when it comes to restaurants and things like that. It is however quite close to the Grand Bazaar, maybe 10-15 walk, which I enjoyed. The hotel itself is clean, polite staff and all right breakfast. Both cold and hot food. The beds were ok but the pillows were terrible in my opinion, too thick and felt like they were filled with air almost.

    « Convenient for ferry »

Not the best location for tourism in Istanbul, but very convenient for the ferry to Bursa (ten minutes by taxi to the terminal). A nice, clean hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. I had to leave early for the ferry so the hotel provided a 'breakfast box' - much appreciated.

    « Reasonable hotel, location wasn't great. »

The hotel was reasonable: Comfortable bed Good shower Average breakfast The view out of our window was a building site. The area was not so great for us, there didn't seem to be any restaurants / nightlife nearby. The attractions were a fair walk away. We ended up moving hotels after one night to stay closer to Taksim Square.

« Nice hotel but no privacy in bathroom »

We stayed at this hotel in January 2016. It was a nice hotel in a good location (10 min walk from the subway), also walking distance to many of the historical sites in Istanbul as well as the Grand Bazaar. They also provide 2 free small bottles of water which was great. The hotel was clean but my only complaint was that the sliding door to the bathroom was translucent, didn't fully close and didn't even have a lock, which was very strange. They stored our luggage for a few hours after check out while we did some sight seeing and shopping, which was nice. It costs about 60 TL to get to the airport by taxi from here. Wifi was strong in the rooms.

« Pleasant stay in a conveniently located hotel »

Well located as its 10 minute walking distance of the tram station and not very far from the metro station (convenient for going and coming from the airport). Nice rooms with excellent service. A special mention of Ms. Yeter Oymak who gave lots of information for getting about the city and very pleasant in her attitude. Will definitely stay here again

    « Business Trip »

I stayed at this hotel for 9 days recently while attending a business seminar at the hotel. Service was very good, staff were competent, friendly and always ready to help. The hotel facilties were very good. The resturant served a good breakfast with plenty of variety over the duration of my stay. Strongly recommended

    5
« Great location that is close to most attractions »

I have visited Istanbul on my business conference and stay at this cozy hotel. It is very modern offering key cards to breakfast and Turkish bath as well. The staff are very accommodating and the location is so close to most shopping areas and to Haji Sofia, grand bazar and many other attractions.

    4
    « Pleasant hotel »

A very nice hotel, well located, three blocks away from the road where you can catch the tram going to the main touristic area. The room was nice and clean and we could enjoy a continental breakfast every day. The only concern is the neighbourhood after 9:30 pm as all the shops around are closed and not many people is around. We were almost victims of a scam, one pretending being a foreign and looking for directions, and two others claiming being policemen and demanding to see our passports and wallets. Luckily, they left us after our refuse but that was a scary moment.

« Mal trato a mi amiga/Rude with my friend »

Primero pedimos que nos fueran a recoger al aeropuerto y jamás llegaron. Después el personal trato de manera descortés a mi amiga que inclusive era de turquía. First of all we ask them to pick us up in the airport but they never arrived after that The staff treat really rude one of my friends, even when she is turkish.

    5
    « Ideal location »

Situated in the old side but very calm location with tram access within 10 minutes. Staff is amazingly helpful and respectful. They loved our infant baby. Highly recommended for couples and small families. Grand bazaar is accessible by walk or tram and Hagia Sophia is by tram with 15 minutes ride.

    4
« Pleasant hotel in quiet area »

Set in a quiet area; if arriving by coach there is a short walk from the main road. Pleasant hotel to use as a base to explore this amazing city. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms clean. Food in the restaurant was ok, but there are several places nearby to eat as an alternative.

« Small room but nice and clean »

We stayed in this hotel for 11 nights. The room is small, but is clean and has everything you need, except for an iron. Although the road infront of the hotel is not very busy, you can hear everything in your room that happens outside. We were staying on the second floor. The intercontinantal breakfast was nice but not very special. Location (Aksaray) is very good though, as you have the tram and metro stations on walking distance and it is the starting point of the shops and touristic features of Istanbul.

« A litle taste of Turkish Delight nestled away in Old City Istanbul »

I would like to start off by saying that I created a TripAdvisor account just so I could leave feedback for this hotel and its lovely staff! The events in my life recently led me to a three-week stint in the beautiful and alluring Istanbul. Istanbul had always been on the top of my list of destinations, and my dream of visiting the land of eastern promise was finally going to become a reality. But first, I had to get my affairs in order. As I was going to be spending three weeks there, and that I was going to be a solo female traveller for the majority of the trip, selecting the right accommodation was crucial. I absolutely love to travel, and when I'm fortunate enough to escape the hustle and bustle of London, I like to do so in style. I'll admit that being born and raised in L.A. left me spoiled rotten. Call me "high maintenance" if you will, but I like my comfort, and I don't "make do" or penny pinch whilst travelling. My uncle who frequently travels to Istanbul for business recommended this hotel to me as he frequently stays there, so I decided that I'd stay there too. There's no denying that this hotel is quite a bit pricier than others nearby, but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for" (and this definitely holds true for accommodation in Istanbul). The hotel: The hotel itself has a very modern, updated and "European" feel to it. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, which was very important for me. I especially loved the lobby/bar area which is very bright with ample cozy seating. They have a pianist there in the evenings which creates a lovely atmosphere in which to enjoy your coffee, tea or cocktail or even while you catch up on your e-mails. I was very pleased with my room which was bright and spacious. The bed was large and remarkably comfy (which probably explains why I spent so much time sleeping haha). There is definitely a difference in the sizes of the rooms, so do pay careful attention and confirm the size of the room you are booking! There was a good-size flatscreen TV suspended from the wall, which had channels in many languages. The bathroom and shower were very roomy (and you have the option to have the water in the shower actually come out of the ceiling, as if it's raining, which I think is super cool). There is also central heating/air condition, which certainly came in handy on the stormy Istanbul nights! There is a gym, spa and hair stylist on site. I never made it to the spa, nor did I get my hair done (although I had intended to do so) but the fact that this hotel had a gym was a big part of why I decided to stay there. However, the gym was more of a "workout room" than a gym, as it only has a treadmill and elliptical (which didn't work), as well as some dumbbells. I consequently ended up not using the gym during my stay, which was a huge disappointment, but I realize I had expected too much. It would be adequate for someone who just wanted to do some weight lifting. An all-you-can-eat breakfast is served daily between 7:00am and 10:00am, and guests can pile their plates high with fresh bread, fruits, veggies, eggs, cheese, cold cuts, and cake. They can also wake up with a wide array of teas (I recommend the apple tea! It's so yummy!) and coffee, or opt for some crisp and refreshing sour cherry or orange juice. A harpist was there some mornings, which was a nice little touch and provided a lovely start to the day! Location: The hotel is very conveniently located, and it is nestled away in a quiet side road in historic "Old City Istanbul". It is situated between Laleli-Universite and Aksaray tram stations (about a five-minute walk to Aksaray and just under 10 to Laleli-Universite). Although Aksaray station is a few minutes closer, I strongly recommend that you travel from Laleli-Universite station instead, especially if you are a solo female and especially if you're travelling at night (just trust me on this one). If you need to take the metro, then Venizciler station is just a five-minute walk as well. The hotel is within walking distance to many famous attractions, including the Grand Bazaar, the Old Bazaar, Beyazit Square, and Fatih. There are also many scrumptious restaurants and cafes nearby for you foodies to tantalize your taste buds, and there are many shops and boutiques for you shopaholics to shop 'til you drop! The Staff: One of the best things about this hotel is its warm and helpful staff who are always bright and cheery! I must say a huge thank you to the lovely Mr. Kemal at reception who changed my room for me, as I wasn't pleased with the room I was initially given. His help really made a huge impact on making my stay comfortable and amazing. He is a very warm and friendly gentleman who remembered my name and always asked how I was doing. If you need anything, then the beautiful Yeter, the Guest Relations and Operations Manager, will be happy to assist you! She is extremely helpful, and it is clear that she takes great pride in her job. If you want to have a drink and a chat in the bar, then say hello to the very friendly barman, Erhan, and Erdal, the reception manager will be able to answer any queries or concerns you may have. Overall, the staff are all very welcoming and friendly. They speak English well which made communication easy, and they were courteous and professional. Conclusion: I spent a wonderful three weeks at this hotel, and I wish I could have stayed longer! I would definitely stay here again (next time I hope to bring my parents along!). I would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers, and I'd like to thank the lovely staff for providing me with the five-star treatment I was expecting!

« First holiday in Turkey »

Me and my husband stayed at this hotel.. it was great, staff was a little bit hard to talk to, and didn't actually make us feel comfortable at times but I guess that was the language barrier also to mention the breakfast buffet was incredible absolutely loved it and my husband throughly enjoyed it too.. in the most polite way of saying this me aged 22 and my husband aged 26 was the youngest in this hotel, which didn't bother us one bit, it was just suprising. However if I was to stay in Istanbul again I would stay here again no doubt. Thumbs up for me.

    « I recommend »

My husband, my one year old son and I stayed at this hotel. We had a great time. The staff is very hospitable and inviting. Breakfast is great - there's a variety to suit everyone's taste. Location is perfect; walking distance from the grand bazaar and the other touristic areas. Metro and tram are very close incase walking is not an option. Yeter (guest relations) and Cigdem made our stay unforgettable- Thank you :) We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Hotel not so bad, 10 minutes from Grand Bazar, good location, safety, ....really 4 star hotel, clean. Staff not so frendly, small restaurant in lobby, summer room to hot. We make reservation for 3 adult, paid 3, but 3. Bad was uncomfortable.

« Well located, perfect place to stay in Istanbul »

Within 5 minutes walking distance from the tram that will take you anywhere you need to go in Istanbul, the Senator is very well located. Service is great, they treat you like guests and not only clients. The hotel is very clean adn the room are renovated and very comfortable. If I go back to Istanbul, I'm staying here again for sure.

    « Fantastic hotel »

We had just a one night stay here and we're very impressed.. Greeted by the soft sound of a fountain and extremely helpful reception staff. We were very early and given a complementary coffee in reception (next to the baby grand) while our room was readied, about 30mins. Our room was great the bed comfortable, all facilities were as expected. Buffet breakfast too a harpist wow . Food excellent. Reception were helpful the next day organising taxi and trips for us. I cannot prais them enough.

« Easy to Find, just difficult to park »

Surprised that no kettle in room and had to go to reception to use machine, available 24/7. Staff very friendly and helpful, some communication problem but, mainly due to my strong Scottish accent. Location was good for me as i enjoy walking, mail attractions (blue mosque etc) 25 minute walk.

    4
« central to most visited tourist sites »

Hotel is located near the most visited sites in Istanbul for tourists. Hotel staff is friendly. Room cleaning could be little bit better. Hotel breakfast could have better quality. As a whole hotel is good for money paid.

    « Great hotel - fab location! »

We chose to stay at this hotel as we had Best Western loyalty points to use. We were not disappointed and we even got a we upgrate to a Junior suite! Fabulous hotel in the perfect location to explore Istanbul. The rooms were large with comfortable bed. Not sure our air-con was working to it's best though - even set at 10c the room was still warm! I actually expected teh early morning call to prayer to have me up bright and early every morning so I brought my ear plugs... these were not required! This hotel must have super double glazing as it could hardly be heard! I always rate a hotel by it's shower - this was a huge walk in shower with piping hot water and great pressure. Perfect! The breakfast serving was great. Brilliant choice of Turkish breakfast specialities, breads and pastries. All served in a very grand room with very polite and friendly staff. On our last day we asked the receptionist, Kemal, to book us a transfer to the airport for early the next morning. This was no trouble at all and he even arranged tea and coffee for us and a nice we boxed sandwich to take with us on our journey. Kemal was an absolute credit to the hotel - helpful, friendly and liked to chat. Cannot understand how anyone can give this hotel a poor review - loved every minute of our stay here!

    « Poor to Average. I don't recommend it. »

I actually was fooled by the rates this hotel has gotten when we checked in and stayed. I am not sure how genuine these rates were really. Our experience in this hotel wasn't good at all. The room they checked us in wasn't as it was described and pictured on the booking site (we booked double deluxe room). It wasn't clean and lacked of amenities. We had to ask three to four times for a kettle, towels as we were couple (husband and wife), Coffee, Water etc. The service was so poor and the communication of the reception desk was unprofessional and rude at the check in and check out.The location of the hotel was inconvenient, crowded, horrible traffic, and disorganized retail businesses. Wifi was very poor although was free. I won't stay there at all next time I visit Istanbul.

    5
    « Excellent accommodation »

Very excellent clean hotel So close to metro station Friendly staff especially a sweet girl (Yeter) She makes you like to comeback She is helpful and nice and smiling all time She lets you feel that you are with your family'' Thank you all for all things I'll recommend this hotel I promise I'll come again
