Best Western Empire Palace

The worst customer service . Giving misinformation on their website . Would not recommend to anyone . Will not refund our money paid which been paid upfront . Not handicap friendly hotel . No disability access. No ramp. Lift too small. No handicap bathroom.

One of the worst hotel experiences I have had in a very long time. I'd give it zero stars if I could. The service was terrible: started off by the receptionist texting someone for the first 5 min when I arrived, second time he walked off to talk to someone else mid conversation with me, the next ignored that I was in lie first and started taking to this other customer. The food was also terrible, the worst meal we had in Istanbul. then the room, the shower sprayed water all over the bathroom, looked like it hadn't been updated since the mid 70's., the windows didn't seal, so we heard everything that happened on the street below. Then they started drilling in the wall next to the room at 09:00 in the morning. The Only good thing was the bed was nice. Done't stay here if you can avoid it. Just awful....

We stayed at the hotel in Dec. The customer drove was very efficient. We were attended to by Mr Selim and in no time we were in our room with our luggage. This is must welcoming as we arrived close to midnight. The room was clean and as expected the furniture was dated but if good order. Comfortable beds and a working heater which is wonderful given that it was rather cold weather. Breakfast was good with sufficient variety for us. Obviously it was Turkish breakfast. The location is excellent for us as we wanted to explore the old city and was close to the tram stops and ferry terminals. We are spoilt for choice for food in this area not to mention local shopping. Only one slight challenge was that the car cannot bring us to the hotel doorstep as it was a road restricted to trams so had to pull our luggage about 100m from the other accessible road. For our home trip the hotel staff assisted in bringing our luggage to the pick up point. So all good!

Great location and service! We came for family reunion and everybody helped us very much! Rooms have decent size , was clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Spa and massage were very professional and relaxing.

I had a lady rub my body with oil, very gently, with the same motion for under 45 minutes. THIS WAS CLASSIFIED AS A SWEDISH MASSAGE! It was an absolute joke! This lady is not qualified, and have little to no knowledge of massage. Yet the Owners of Best western will happily charge you 55 euros, just to have oil rubbed on your skin! I had to pay in full before the massage, one would question if they knew that I was not going to get what I had paid for.

This hotel is in a wonderful location, midway between Santa Sofia and Eminönü, if you want to stay in Sultanhamet. We were fortunate to receive a tiny room on the backyard because the hotel is located on a busy street with a tramway running through it. The staff at the lobby and breakfast area were friendly and accommodating. When the hairdryer in our room broke, they fixed it the same day and offered us tea or coffee whenever we lingered in the hallway. We were grateful for the two 0,5 liter free bottles of water we received daily in the room since we spent long days exploring the city. On the down side, the bathroom and room both required some renovations; notice the rusted radiator and the scratched wall in the photo. The threadbare towels, which were occasionally also soiled as shown in the second picture, are also visible in this photo. Still speaking of the inadequate housekeeping, bird droppings stayed on the window glass for the entire week we were there. It should be noted that the window opened inward, making cleaning it relatively straightforward (see photo). Last but not least, if you favor sweet breakfasts, forget not only about baklava, but also about basic pastries or croissants. Apart from toasted bread with jam or honey, the only sweet food was a single cake that tasted and looked like it was produced in an industrial setting. Additionally, if you wanted an espresso or a cappuccino, you had to get it from a (free) Nescafé vending machine using instant soluble powders rather than a bar coffee machine using actual coffee and milk. The bottom truth is that, in my opinion, this hotel is neither four stars nor fairly rated.

Selim on the front desk was the most friendly and helpful hotel manager I have ever dealt with. He went above and beyond to assist my family when we stayed at this hotel in May 2023. He made recommendations that were so helpful and I can highly recommend this hotel for the ease of getting around Istanbul on foot or tram. We were travelling with 2 children so this hotel was a great choice for us.

Very cosy, familiar. Perfect location. Good breakfast, staff is kind, clear. The noise of the street can be heard, but not too loud, not really disturbing. Noises from the next rooms are isolated perfectly.

Our stay was really pleasant and nice. The location of the hotel is great! Really close to all of the monuments, the city centre and good restaurants. You have everything you need on the same street. The staff is always friendly! At the reception Selim was really welcoming and helpful and also the guys at the breakfast service Mehmet and Yalain :) ( I hope I wrote the names right) The cleaning service also really good! At general a lovely stay for our first time in Istanbul.

Good location, the hotel located in around of many ancient palaces. Easy to walk overthere. Every staffs are very helpful and supportive me. Breakfast is very good. Hi-speed internet. Have heater and AC in room

Convenient location for historical attractions with most within easy walking distance. Friendly and helpful staff. However, incredibly noisy at night so virtually no sleep throughout the stay. Very poor quality breakfast. Would not recommend

Stayed for 3 nights during a 3 week trip to Turkey. Excellent location to visit the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica and the Bosporus, all within walking distance from the hotel. Typical Best Western hotel, charming, with great customer service from all staff. A big thank you for taken care with the gluten free options. Dinner on our last night was delicious. The hotel is perfectly located for exploring the city, within 10m walk of the nearby blue mosque and Hagia Sophis, 15m to the Grand Bazzar. It's got a great restaurant downstairs and lots of nearby alternatives and shops. The streets outside are bustling with people and have a great atmosphere. There's trams that pass outside too but no cars so be aware for finding it initially! The rooms are very comfy and have all you need without luxury. Rooms aren't soundproof but it all quietens down by midnight. Staff are great and the buffet breakfast is a bonus!

Good location in Old City of Istanbul. Car access is not allowed on the street, but a taxi will drop you off two minutes away. Restaurant and spa on the site. For anything you need ask the manager Ifran.

My family and I came to Istanbul for 2 weeks. The GM (Alihan Akkoc) and staff have been nothing short of outstanding. They were very accommodating to our family's needs. The restaurant downstairs (Bistro Chef) serves fresh juices (Orange Juice/Fresh Lemonade with Mint), the kebab is actually made in front of you. Its a really cool experience. Steps away from the tramway, which helps navigate to SultanAhmet, Grand Bazaar, and the Bosphorus Sea. All in all a great place to stay while in Istanbul.

The hotel is beautifully located and with easy access to the tram, restaurants and shopping. The rooms are however old, jaded and shabby for a four star rating. At best the hotel is a 3 star but the rates are high due to location. Ahmet at the reception was most helpful. Breakfast was pretty nice.

I always choose best western it's a good four star chain and this hotel is no exception ,the rooms are good size with classic nice furniture and comfortable beds and very clean ,very good breakfast for a four star ,and nice helpful Young staff especially Radwan who always smile at clients and offer help except for the reception guy who turns his face when you say hello (don't know why) .the hotel is walking distance from many attractions but no taxis allowed on the street so you have to walk about 200 meters to take one . Tram station 150 meters away. A bit noisy but we asked to change the room and took one on a higher floor and side street which was a lot better .

Very central hotel handy walking distance for the main tourist attractions Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topaki Palace and the Bosphorus. Very clean and good adequate breakfast. The staff look after you so well both in the bistro street restaurant and Irfan on reception who made sure we had a lovely room on one of the top floors thus avoiding the noise from the trams passing in the street below. Would stay there again.

Manager, Mr. Irfan went out of his way to make sure our stay was pleasant. He helped us with booking attractions and even provided his personal Metro card :) Staff is friendly and supportive. Hotel is in a prime location and walking distance to major attractions.

If you are looking for a hotel to stay in that is quite close to all the tourist sites nearby then this a great location to stay, the Galata bridge is only a 15 minute walk away and the area felt safe even at night with many shops open to midnight. There are many restaurants and shops with a 5 minute walk and a great bar called the Red River which also did great food at low prices, although we did also try several of the restaurants including the one in the hotel. Rooms were good and clean, yes there was some noise, but that is not the hotel's fault, there is a tramline outside, but that eases off by evening and ends around midnight, this would be a problem most hotels would suffer in Istanbul. Looking a the recent reviews, not being able to get a taxi outside is fairly common in the area, so not just the Empire Palace, likewise noise levels, neither are hotel issues, but fairly common to many hotels in Istanbul as a whole. We did have a couple of teething problems but have to say Irfan and his team did everything to sort them out and did so. I can't fault their service and attitude, indeed most staff were very helpful throughout. If you want a hotel that is fairly central and has many options for eating and drinking nearby after a days tourism this is ideal and i would recommend it.

Impossible to sleep people partyng, Cars during the night. But the worst was the director only looking for Money, we had a problem and he Just wanted earn more..what a man..i Will writer to best western..

nice hotel and convenient to attractions. BUT..,BUT taxis are not allowed on their street. be prepared for a 1-1.5 block walk, with luggage, probably uphill. spartan breakfast. but several good restaurants nearby. and yes the noisy trams run continuously.

This place is a shame of the Best Western brand. We wrote to the hotel email, telling them we are arriving at 6AM and leaving at 5PM so we need a day use room. Their sales manager agreed and booked us in their system. However, when we arrived at about 8:30AM, the receptionist told us there was no room for us. We would either need to wait for 1 hour so they could clean the room or we would have to accept a room of the type we did not book for. When we asked for the copy of our passport the receptionist made as we decided to head for another hotel, he refused to give our passport copy back to us and threatened that he could prevent us from leaving Turkey with a phone call. He even mentioned that I must have mental health issue and need to see a doctor during the conversation. I have to say never would I expect a hotel under the name of Best Western would have such zero respect for their customers.

Walking distance from most of the important atractions (Aya Sofia, Grand Bazar, Eminonu). Clean rooms, not very noisy neighborhood (it helps if you ask for a room without a tram view). OK breakfast, not much variation, but we could easely find something good to eat for every taste. But the biggest asset of the hotel are the people. They are doing everything to make you feal comfortable. A very big "Teşekkür Ederim" for Mr. Irfan who helped us alot with all we needed. Also a big thanks for Ridvan.

We stayed at the empire palace for five nights with our little 5 months old baby! It's a great hotel with nice bedrooms and an amazing staff! Thank you so much Selim for your kindness and your welcome! I definitly recommend this place !

What I didn't like: The walls were very thin and you can hear what the neighbor is talking. This was a big problem during the night because you can't sleep from the noise from the neighbors and from the street. Poor breakfast. Not a lot of choises. What I liked: The location of the hotel is great. It was easy accesibile. Close to the tram station and metro. There are a lot of restaurants around the hotel. The hotel has a restaurant at the ground floor. The room was very clean and had all the amenities. 10 minutes walking to Hagia Sofia ang 5 minutes walking to the Bosfor.

Everything was grest. The rooms, very clean, the measurements of the pandemic were fully respected. The hotel personal was lovely, they all know english very well. The restaurant is great, good food, nice and clean terrace and inside restaurant. The room we stayed in is little, but there is enough space for bags. Very soft beds and great conditions in the bathroom also.

+ Very Nice and Friendly staff. Awesome services. We had grate visit in Istanbul. + Location is very center and near to every attraction and Taksim Meydan. - Difficult to find parking for the Car and you can not drive to the hotel entré.

The hotel is centrally located close to the T1 tram and walking distance from most of the major attractions. The staff are fantastic, with Ifran going out of his way to help us with the Istanbulcard. A few reviews had suggested that the breakfast wasn't great but we thought it was perfect, with cheeses, bread, olives, meat, scrambled eggs, sausage,coffee etc. The only reason that I haven't given it 5/5 is because it is a relatively loud hotel in terms of street noise, however this didn't bother us hugely but I would suggest packing ear plugs. Having said that I would certainly stay here again.

My best friend and I found this hotel by chance by looking for it on the booking site and it impressed us both positively. It was a wonderful, wonderful stay! The location is perfect and close to many of the city's attractions, the furniture is accurate and rich of the smallest detail that are very reminiscent of the Turkish atmosphere with embroidery and warm colours. The structure of the hotel is very elegant, refined and well maintained. The breakfast is rich and very abundant, the buffet allows you to choose between sweet or salty foods and everything is managed respecting the best safety and hygiene rules that are essential in this period. The strong point of the hotel is the staff: I have never met a staff so professional, kind, helpful, always smiling and ready to satisfy us in everything; after two days my besties and I immediately felt at home, especially thanks to Selim for everything he did for us! Very clean hotel, daily change of linen and towels and continuous cleaning of the room was made, we were provided with water and typical Turkish tea for free even with delivery to the room! In short, all perfect and unique so all come here to stay and you will not regret it .... we will definitely be back, we already miss it! Marta

Thd hotel is located in a great area, specially if you are planning to use public transportaion, its a short walksing distance to the metro station (5 minutes) and the trum station (only 1 minute). Its also very close to the tourist attractions sights in sultanahmet. The staff overall is really friendly and extremely helpful. The night shift staff were awsome (serkan and selim). The room was clean and causy.

The hospitality and consideration the staff showed to me during my stay in August 2018 was wonderful. The hotel is excellently located, close to so many Istanbul landmarks, restaurants and mass transit facilities. When current travel restrictions end, I am planning a return trip to the Best Western Empire Palace!

The property was very clean, all the employees wore masks and were courteous and respectful, everybody at Front Desk were very nice and knowledgeable, always willing to help us. Rooms are big and comfy, the property location is awesome, we could walk to the main touristy attractions and to Eminonu to catch the ferry to Kadikoy, this was our second stay at this property and will comeback soon, keep up the good work!

The Hotel is located in the most touristy place possible and every other place is easily accessible from here. The staff especially Mr. Salem and Mr. Irfan made the whole stay worthwhile with their warm welcome and ever to help attitude. A meal at the restaurant is not to be missed! The chef knows his stuff.

First time in Istanbul and the reasson why i enjoyed it so much is the Hotel. It is located in a perfect position where u have Ayasophia in 3 min by walking, 4m SultanAhmet Cami(Blue Mosque) and many more beatiful places. Nice hotel rooms and clean ones. With room service. Great hospitality from the staff (expecially Selim the recepsionist), kind and warm welcoming. Allways ready to help and make u enjoy ur time. Awsome Restaurant and Bar, with nice Turkish traditionl dishes and all. I have many more things to write for this Hotel but trustme, go try it and ull see that all i said are more than true. I can recommend this hotel to everyone who are planning to stay in old Istanbul. Excellent service and great hospitality from the entire staffs. All the front desk staffs are very friendly.The housekeeping clean the room very well every day. Breakfast is very good. I was supposed to stay here for 3 nights , but I extended my stay for one more day in this hotel Best Western Empire Palace, because I felt very comfortable.Parking is safe and very close. I paid 160 TL (20 eur) for four days. A lot of specific turkish shops around. Few minutes from historical attractions. Thank you guys !

I had the opportunity to stay at Best Westren hotel this week. And i must say that my experience was very hospitable. Especially i would like to mention Sultan Selim an employee at this hotel who took great care of all guests including myself. Very warm and true Turkish hospitality. I highly recommend this place for both business and family vacations.

I was supposed to stay here for 4 nights, and planning to stay in other location in another hotel for 4 more nights, but I extended my stay for another 4 more days in this hotel Best Western Empire Palace, because I felt very comfortable, feel like my home. Location in old city,10 min.to main places like Topkapi palace.Very loud from the street.One side-bars and cafe,other side tram.Breafast so so.Wi fi not good at all.Room big and clean.Water free and tea facilities in the room.Spa,but only if you want to order treatment,not for just visit sauna and hammam.check and discuss all prices in hotel

Excellent location,very close to many city sights, nice and clean rooms with large wc, polite personel.outstanding service from Mr. Souleiman and Mr. Irfan.early check-in and late check-out offered. Highly recommended

Just back from Istanbul after staying at this wonderful hotel. The hotel is at walking distance of for major sights, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basalica Cistern, and Topkapi palace. The rooms were warm and cosy. Bathrooms clean. Towels replaced each day. Breakfast was not that great but good enough for the different variety. Two dishes changed daily while the rest like corn flakes coffee fruits remained same. Downside: lift is small and is busy during checkout times. No toiletries like shaving kit, comb or toothpaste provided. Only earbuds and bath gels provided. While checkout the staff was very pushy and got me to post a perfect 10 review on booking. Com. Didn't like the way I was forced to. I anyway give 10 if I liked but then the pushy nature made me feel to cut two stars. I could max do is delete the review and not post at all. Also the front desk tried selling some costly tours which didn't make sense. An informed tourist knows how well you avoid the 60€ Bosporus River cruise including all food and entertainment. 60€ still doesn't justify. We managed to see the same spots using local ship and spent the rest of € on shopping.

This establishment did not meet our expectations at all. We were expecting a four star but we got a small room meant for 3 guests with a shower only and no bath. The TV only has Turkish channels and the remote and lamp wasn't working. We called to inform them but didn't get much help. The breakfast wasn't too great, not much of a buffet. We ended up eating fruits and going out for brunch. Great location though.

We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights, and I must say the service was outstanding. During the stressful check in process Irfan made our life so easy. He was so accommodating and helpful, made our stay in Istanbul so much better. Loved this city so much more because of how we were treated right from the start. I will definitely come stay here again and tell everyone visiting to stay here. Honestly I was very pleased with the room service, breakfast buffet and all of the stay. The hotel is conveniently located about 10 minutes walk from all the main attractions. We walked to blue mosque, hagia Sofia, and topkapi museum. The train station and the blue station are less then 5 mins away. You have earned my business forever.

Hotel location is very convenient, in the heart of Istanbul tourist area & Eminonu Pier is within walking distance, tram is just in front of the hotel. Hotel reception is very helpful, tour and airport shuttle can be arranged. Room is clean.

We received a great treatment from the management, specialy from Irfan, he helped us with our doubts regarding the things to visit and explained us very kindly how to get there, he even helped us to get a card for the metro. Great guy!. Regarding the facilities: the hotel is very simple, small, but clean and very well located, just what we where looking for, it is a couple of blocks away from the palace and the metro station that allows you to cross the Bosphorus with the subway and to get to the asian side of Istanbul. Also it is very near to pastry stores and clothes stores and restaurants. And just 10 minutes away from the Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet) and Santa Sophia Museum. The breakfast is very complete and the room that we got was very spacious.

We had an awesome stay in Istanbul and this hotel definitely contributed to that. The location is perfect to reach all the touristic spots within short time and Irfan and his staff were really friendly and nice about everything. The rooms are a bit noisy but still clean and neat. We booked our rooms with breakfast which was quite nice. All in all I can recommend this hotel for a citytrip to Istanbul

We have a wonderful time in Empire Palace. Everyone at the hotel were very nice and helpful specially Irfan and Selim. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the lady that do the job very nice too. We had massages and it was wonderful experience very relaxing. The internet had a little problems but Selim was very helpful to make it work for us. The location of the hotel is perfect everything walking distance. I will be back to Estambul and for sure I will stay in West Best Empire Palace again.

We travel very often to Istanbul. It's one of our favourite destination with very good value for money accommodation and services. This year the pattern was broken by a not so great experience at Best Western Empire Palace. Pros: - comfortable triple room with reasonable view - the staff was generally nice Cons: - subpar breakfast with burned omlette every day, lack of coffee, lack of food diversity, low quality - we booked a triple room, but were provided water for only 2 persons - our car was damaged by one of hotel's staff and we were not satisfied with how the management handled the situation. Unfortunately, we don't recommend this hotel. We'll go back to Ramada on our next visit.

It has been an absolute pleasure staying at the hotel. The rooms are clean. What made it a delight for us was the staff. A special mention for Irfaan who made it so welcoming for us. From our tours at good prices and shuttles being organized everything was taken care of effortlessly. He went that extra mile to help us where possible. We was 4 persons who stayed at this hotel for 5 nights.We liked it a lot. Perfect location, everything easy in reach. Tram station just around the corner.The breakfast had pretty good variety, with biscuits, croissants, fruit and good coffee. We liked it a lot. Nice clean rooms. The arcitecture in the hotel and the rooms are nice, picked out of time of romance! Isolated windows, perfect for sleeping. Nice, friendly and helpful staff. Recommended! We ordered pick up service from the airport and back again, via the hotel. I think this is an other shuttle company who have an agreement with the hotel. When we arrived the airport, they was not there. We had to wait a long time, 30-40 min. This driver was grumpy. We was thirsty after a long flight and wanted water. He would charge us 2 Euro for a tiny bottle of water, it`s obscenely expensive. We let him keep his father. He left us on a corner in a unknown city, telling he did`nt know where the hotel is, he pontes out a direction and told us to ask someone. Silly guy. For the return to the airport, we had an other driver, he was right in time, nice and friendly.

Even our Istanbuli friends said it was a great location and nice hotel. Everybody took great pride in making us feel welcome. Room was fine. Breakfast was Turkish with some local delicacies. The question is always, would you come again? I would say yes.

We stayed here from 10th Oct till 12 th Oct in room no. 407 We were dropped off at a location very close to the hotel when we came from the airport. The cheerful staff Özcan was waiting at the location for us and picked our bag. We were highly impressed with this service. Suleiman and Irfan at the front office were very cheerful, jolly and very helpful. The buffet breakfast had a good spread. The hotel is close to the Bazaars, Galata Bridge, Cruise points, Topkapi Palace and other historical monuments. It is close to all modes of transportation. There are several restaurants around this hotel. We loved the Bistro Chef restaurant which you walk into from the hotel lobby. The rooms are very cute, cosy and clean. The bathroom is also very clean. I liked the decor of the rooms and the hotel.

We had a great time at this hotel. They were all very friendly. Irfan went particularly out of his way to help us. It was nice of him to give us a late checkout time. Hotel was in a central location with lots of restaurants nearby

Ideally placed for either a walk up the hill to the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, Hagia Sophia & Topkapi Palace Museum or down to the Golden Horn and its bridges; also the tram system runs right past the door with a station a short distance away if you wish to explore further. Near the tram station is an access to the large park behind the Topkapi Palace that is very pleasant, there are also numerous restaurants nearby. Our room was clean and very nicely furnished, but very small. Interestingly only one set of towels, one glass etc, so was it meant to be a single? Breakfasts okay but juice appalling, tasted like powdered. We didn't have a lot of dealings with staff, but were greeted warmly and attentively until we mentioned we had pre-booked our tours, staff member then just got up and walked away, rude. It became apparent over our days there if you had booked something with them you were fawned over, if not they weren't bothered. We've stayed in numerous city hotels around the world, this has no personality to it.

Stayed in this Istanbul hotel for 4 nights. It was conveniently placed for visiting the main tourist sites in Sultanamet. Breakfasts were good. Had dinner once in the restaurant and it was also good. They had a crazy waiter who delivered 3 glasses of Efes to the table by balancing them on his head!. Lots of other Restaurants to try nearby as well.

Nice location in old part of city , walking distance to Sophia , Blue Mosque , Grand Market. Full of nice eating places , Spice Markets , Bridge , Ferry Crossings, Tram service etc. Good service , comfortable Rooms. Not quite place to sleep but very lively

Guest can walk to important attractions in the old city. It has one of the best restaurants in the area. It is not a quite place to sleep as the tram (metro) passes by the hotel. The staff are very helpful

It was comfortable and clean place to stay in Istanbul with location near the markets. The whole staff were friendly and helpful specially mr. Irfan and mrs. Gulbahar... will definitely choose the same hotel for next time coming to Istanbul.

Excellent location within the Old City, only a short walk to Haghia Sophía, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mesquite and Basilica Cistern.- The hotel is OK (price/quality) but the photos show it nicer and bigger than what it is. Trams passes in front, but the noise didn´t bother us. Staff speaks some English.

Hotel is located near the busiest part of the city, very close to tram stations, difficult to get to the entrance by car, so you need to consider that during check in and out . sheets clean , air conditions need to be maintained or replaced .my room was cold but the AC kept dripping water, breakfast was nice although lacks variety.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel from 20-24 July, we had a pleasant time. The staff was most courteous and helpful. Especially Selim, the evening manager was very friendly and took care of us. And so were Salameh, Saarejahan and Jansoo. We very much appreciate their hospitality.

It's near the top attractive places in sultanahmet district, clean and comfortable but the internet is awful. I think its a little expensive so maybe it is better to choose it as B plan. Also the restaurant is good with delicious dishes and kind chef.

Ever want to wake up in the middle of the night 2 am with air conditioning dripping like Duden Waterfall. And the night manager simply said that it's not a big deal. We were a family of 3 who needed a double bed. And he was trying to haggle us to shift to a twin bed room at 2:30 am. This will be one of your terrible experiences if not the worst. Book at your own risk. Also the breakfast area is too small. No room to walk rather sit once all guests come into the tiny area they call restaurant. Only good thing is metro station nearby but what good is it if you cant sleep peacefully. Right?

Room was very small, there was no hot water in room, we decided to leave after one night, asked for a refund. Didn't get it! So all in all.. never booking there ever again, taking my business elsewhere

Near main sites in Istanbul, however trams run just outside hotel making it a very noisy place to stay. Average hotel not 4*. Room was small although clean, ok for 1 or 2 night stay. Basic breakfast. Good shower in room , however no place to unpack suitcase.

The hotel was overall a poor experience. However: Positive: - Hotel is based in the midst of all the main sights in Istanbul all within easy walking reach - Close to metro/train/bus/ferry, so the rest of Istanbul is easy to reach - Ifran from frontdesk was quite helpful Negative: - Rooms extremely (and I mean extremely noisy) The windows & doors are far from soundproof. You could hear everything on the hallways/other rooms and the bell of the elevator. Having restaurants downs stairs + trams in the small narrow streets meant loud noise from outside from about 06am to just after midnight. Hardly any sleep this first night and we demanded another room. If this wasnt available than we would have moved. Second room was at backside of the building.. Slightly better.. - Breakfast very basic. OK this is a best western, but at least ensure that items are stocked up when finished. quality very very basic. From 2nd night on we ate outside (for about 20L a good breakfast with real coffee rather than instant (nescafe) coffee in the hotel..) - Despite being highest member at Best Western absolutely 0 acknowledgement, no complimentary upgrade / welcome gift.. - Beds are very narrow + small rooms - Shower was flooding after 5 min.. - TV + Fridge weren't working during our stay - Servers in hotel restaurant are too "friendly" which some people tend to enjoy for some reason. Luckily in less touristic parts of istanbul (e.g. Adakoy) you can enjoy food/drinks without any hassle... (and halve of the price + better quality) Overall if you can sleep with noise, don't care about breakfast and don't put high demands on a hotel this could be reasonable but for max 60 euro /night. Next time we go for a more quiet hotel/room

We arrived during the festival of Eid and by the time we managed to navigate the crowds, we arrived tired and exhausted, of course no fault of the hotel. We were taken to the "best' room in the hotel. We turned on the tv to relax for a while but could hardly hear each other speak. We were facing the tramline and they came past every five mins blasting their horns. Horrendous. They were very polite at reception. Beds were comfy but very hard pillows. One english news channel worked on first night. No other channels! Tv did not work at all on 3rd night.

The good things : - This hotel has a fab location in the old city of Istanbul. But it is located in a narrow lane and hence while you are being dropped off at the hotel with luggage ask your driver to drop you from the Tram side of the hotel, otherwise you will have to drag your bags for some distance on cobbled street. - The hotel is surrounded with numerous eating joints and you will never run out of options - The hotel has a spa, but prebook and confirm the time as it is totally dependent on when the staff arrives. They told us it is open till late. The foot reflexology is good and relaxing and you can ask them to reconsider the price if you are more people. - The breakfast is a small but very good spread. The dishes are fresh and they have a nice coffee machine. Its the right beginning for a day of sight seeing. So don't miss it. - The staff is great and very helpful. Talk to them and get to know the things around better. What could be better: - The tram goes right next to the hotel which means it gets super noisy and is like that till 11pm in the night and the tram starts at 6am in the morning. The windows are not sound proof. And it can hot so you have to open the window. - The bathroom got filled with water everytime we took bath and flooded the entire bathroom. - We took a room with 3 beds but it tends to get cramped with 3 beds and the luggage. - We booked an appointment for 11am at the spa but noone turned until 12. Also they did not have female therapist available which was requested beforehand. Hope the hotel takes notice and rectifies these points.

This is a great hotel. It looks fantastic, with lots of marble and great ceramics. The bed was firm (How i like it) and very comfortable and the pillows were also good. Walking distance to lots of things and you're smack in the middle of the tourist district so everything is quite easy if it's your first time to Istanbul. Cons: The room was quite small. Cozy even. Still comfortable. I also had to angle a bit too sit on the toilet (I'm reasonably tall). The room is onto the main road and it's very noisy with all the restaurants and also trams. The noise dies down around 10, we had no problems sleeping. Overall this was a very comfortable room in a very nice hotel. Would definitely visit again.

Fantastic location. Right in the heart of the old town and very short walk from the Topkapi, Aya Sofia & Blue mosque. We found the staff to be very helpful and they even switched us to a twin room on arrival as my husband had to work and I took a friend on the trip instead. This made our stay much more comfortable. My major complaint has to be about smoking in this hotel. The whole place stunk of stale smoke despite having non smoking signs on every floor. Our room smelt on arrival and someone must have been smoking in an adjoining room or possibly on the roof terrace as the smell got stronger and stronger. I'm sorry but this is really very unpleasant when you are expecting a non smoking room.

We stayed 3 nights and everything was perfect! The hotel is located very close to the museums. Outside the hotel there is a tram station. The staff was helpful and had willingness in order to provide us all the necessary information about the city. We thank the noble irfan and savas who made our stay very pleasant !!! Nice rooms, beds with good comfortable mattresses. I absolutely recommend it to everyone!!

- Rooms don't have any ventilation. Opening a window is not an option because the location is very noisy with trams passing every couple of minutes. - Airconditioning was working at first, but broke down halfway our stay. Staff lied to us and said all Airconditioners were off in the winter. It was late April and already getting warm. - Very noisy. The hotel restaurant downstairs produces a lot of noise. Waiters are performing tricks in the streets with loud music and clapping. Rooms have almost no soundproofing, as you can hear any sound coming from the hallway downstairs. Bring earplugs, or stay somewhere else!

Excellent location for a traveler wanting to experience Islandbul. Busy active safe area. The people are friendly, staff was always happy to help. Walking distance to shops food all transportation .Step out the door and you are part of the bussel of Istandbul.

Quiet, orderly, clean, economical, excellent location, it is very close to Metro station (Golhana), and also very close from Grand Bazar from the other side. and thanks to the customer service especially Soliman, Irfan and Savach. Check in and out was easy and fast. Also very close to the commercial markets and restaurants.

We loved our stay here, the staff, in particular Selim and Irfan ,were very hospitable and friendly, the hotel is clean and the tram runs right by the hotel. Staff helped us with tours, and pointing out the best way to see city sites. The cleaning staff were very responsive to meeting any concerns we had and the restaurant staff were great at keeping a smile on our face. Would love to return.

Fantastic location and very friendly staff especially Suleman at the reception made our stay most memorable will recommend staying here. All main attractions are in walking distance. They are always available to guide you and arrange tours and are very reasonable.

Staying at the hotel currently with family. We have a young baby with us and we feel that we have had no assistance, whereas we have stayed at other hotels nearby and have had excellent service. There is no ramp for a pushchair and no one helps you. The staff are unapproachable, miserable and unhelpful. The breakfast is awful, no selection what so ever. If you have a young family this is not the place for you. The staff watch you struggle taking the heavy stroller up and down the steps and don't even hold the door open. We love Turkey the room is fairly decent but sadly the staff let us down.

Excellent service form the front desk personnel. I want to congratulate Mr. Selim that was at the front desk, he always helped us in our needs, he was really kind and gave us excellent service. He helped us with everything we needed. The location of this hotel is perfect, it is about 10 minutes walking from Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque, as well as Topkapi Palace.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It's a hidden gem in Suntan Ahmet. It's close to all the great tourist sites in the area. The hotel staff is amazing, it's a personal experience and it's like a family. They go out of their way to take care of your needs. The front desk staff (Suleyman, Irfan and Selena) are really very good. The bell boys are also quite a laugh. Breakfast is included at the hotel....it's a good mix of western and Turkish food. Next time you are in Istanbul, consider staying at the BW Empire Palace....you will not regret it!

I love the atmosphere inside the bedroom. The interior has a classic style with vintage decoration. The bedroom is quite spacious to fit in 4 person. It is located near Blue mosque and Hagia Sophia. It is also located near souvenir stores. The hotel staff is very helpful and kind.

The location is very strategic, within walking distance to almost famous tourist attraction such as Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar. Tram Station is just about 50 m from hotel, make it easier to access other area in Istanbul. But since the Tram way is direct in front of the Hotel, need to becarefull of it, especially if you are traveling with children.

Lovely place for a stay in istanbul. Special mention is its central location, with places like topkapi palace, blue mosque, hagia sophia, grand bazar, marmara sea shore (cruise ships) at a walking distance from the hotel. Further, the staff is hospitable and food is nice; although the adjoining restaurant is relatively small☺.

BW Empire Palace has an amazing location, only couple minutes walk to the Hagia Sophia and the blue mosque. I can easily take train to go to other areas of the city as well. Their room is clean and comfortable. Staffs here are helpful and welcoming, they make my trip even better. I would really like to recommend to choose here for your trip.

We chose the hotel primarily because of its location. We checked in on the 24 Dec 2018, Room 604. The front desk staff was friendly however he gave us a wrong key card which looked quite old with some old stickers remnants on it. The area outside the elevator and our room - we felt like we were entering a storage space with furniture lying everywhere including the staircase and the fire exit - A REAL FIRE HAZARD. A lone bed head is placed outside the elevator. It poses a safety hazard as it could drop on anyone especially a kid anytime. There is even a ladder and a wardrobe full of stuff placed in the walk way next to the elevator. The place is akin to a STORE ROOM. Best Western should not have placed us there. The staircase was full of furniture and was blocked. There would be no way you could pass through in case of fire. And, one of the wardrobe door handle gave way. I have had never experience anything like this before. A complaint to the front desk staff seemed to fall on a deaf ear. This is bad! The view from the room, however, was good.

Good location, very clean rooms, very warm reception by staff in general and Mr SULIMAN in particular, he is very helpful and cooperative which makes us feel at home, it's very friendly atmosphere and we enjoyed their daily and delicious breakfast

very good location, 5 min to Topkapi Palace, less than 10 min to Hagia Sophia Church also, 10 min to Galata bridge, but there is also the tram just in front of the hotel, if you want to reach both Grand Bazaar or Dolmabahce Palace, to the other end from Galata the staff is so friendly, so nice - thank you, dear Irfan!; the guys from front office were really helpful breakfast was very good, reach enough; into the evenings, the breakfast area from ground level becomes a nice and happy restaurant (halal) i would come again, for sure

Very glad I got to stay at this hotel, very clean, excellent customer service, great food and above all, great atmosphere. Selim was a great host along with his staff who all treated us like family. Definitely recommended and will definitely book again for any future trips to Istanbul.

Nice cosy hotel...close to all historic places and great hotel staff. Taken good care by Suleiman and other staff who had ready advice for everything and helped in any arrangement. They also helped with our rooms on same floor for convenience after we requested after first day of stay. Has also got a nice restaurant where we enjoyed Testy kebabs !

It is hard to imagine for me why this place has such a big rating, but it is overrated tremendously. Location is convenient, hotel is small, feels overrun, breakfast is very poor, and restaurant is run like s separate business. Horrible internet connection, small things like shampoos are poor quality. This is all in comparison. Beds are ok.

It was our first stay in Istanbul. It was the best hotel we have ever stayed at. Everything was perfect. Irfan from reception desk was really helpful and friendly and ready to answer all our questions. He is the best example of how reception desk staff should work. Breakfast was excellent too, although we are fussy eaters. The room was really clean and comfortable. We want to return to this hotel again.

It was my first trip to Istanbul. I loved the city and the hotel. Location was amazing. My room on the six floor was clean and big. The staff were very helpful and professional. If I return in Istanbul /or when I return/ in Istanbul I would definitely go back in this hotel. I would like to thank all staff from reception to the housekeeping .

I stayed in the hotel for 4 days with my friends. Location is pretty nice to go to Sightseeing on foot. Around the hotel, it's easy to find the cafes or restaurants, that was good. The amenities of room is normal, but it's enough to stay, so you don't need to buy additional stuff. Overall normal and average level, but The reception stuff was very kind! When I should go to hospital because of fever, one stuff ( named Hassan) came with me and helped to translate from English to Turkish. It was really really helpful for me, because I cannot speak Turkish at all and some doctors, nurses and stuff couldn't speak English at all... and I had no energy to make an effort to let them understand. Although his working time was finished, he stayed with us ( me and my friend). I very appreciated him, Hassan. The reception staff was very nice, especially him (Hassan). Their hospitality was really good, if you have some problems, I'm sure they tried to help you.

Bad chips, worse salad, chicken ok-ish but had to go to the bathroom 2 times after at about 3 h. My wife as well. Did not eat elsewhere that day. Better Find another place, tourist trap unfortunatelly.

I lived in different hotels for several visits of Istanbul. I concluded that this one is the best. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Breakfasts are wonderful.The staff is very friendly. Suleyman became my best turkish friend :) He was cheerful and helped me in a hopeless situation when I forgot the safe code :) The location of the hotel is great. You can find everything you need in few steps: Gulhane park, Sultan's palace, basilica, Grand Bazaar, tram, subway, seafront, Galata bridge and every other place. I recommend everyone to stay here!

The hotel was ideally located. We were within 10 minutes of foot travel to many of the attractions in Istanbul. The hotel is dated, but we loved the Middle Eastern setting. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. The restaurant has an excellent trendy vibe, mainly in the evenings.

Hotel location is perfect, near to the metro station, 10 minutes walking will be in Eminuno port and Egyptian Market and many other places to visit. Front office people are warm welcoming and friendly, they are cooperating and helpful for any arrangements or information.

You couldn't ask for a better location to stay at in Istanbul. It's situated closely to the biggest attractions of the city, making everything so much easier to see. Everything you need is at the proximity of the hotel, so you don't need to worry about anything, you can just relax and enjoy. Food in Empire is amazingly delicious and actually traditional, so you don't have to go far to taste the real Istanbul. The rooms are so beautiful and clean, I've got really nothing bad to say about the hotel. And of course the staff. The staff was so kind. Everybody helped me whenever I needed something. Responded quickly and professionally. I don't know the name of the guy that helped us get the taxis, but thank you for helping us get to our destination on time! It is an excellent place to stay, with a helpful staff eager to ensure the comfort of their guests. Last minute change of departure plans were easily accommodated. The restaurant and its staff also get high marks. It's centrally located in the old city - Sirkeci area - 20 meters from the tram stop and minutes away from all the major tourist sites. Great value for money spent!

This is the first time I have been cheated by tripadvisor reviewers!!! This hotel deserves not more than 3 stars. The rooms were si small and outdated. Located in crowded area with the trams in front that carry a high risk to family when they pass in the street. Very poor breakfast. Only one positive point is the staff, specially Irfan. He is a good and cooperative person. I strongly not recommend this hotel.

I went to Istanbul last month with a friend. We stayed in this hotel and really liked it! The position was very good but most of all, we enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff, always ready to help us (and we really needed help, two girls in Istanbul!!) and offering hot tea!

Rooms are very comfortable and clean.The rooms were very big ( fitted 3 beds in each). Service was excellent and the free breakfast was amazing . They have a large variety of food and everything was delicious. The location of the hotel is perfect for visiting many of the ‘must see' sites in the area.

We visited Turkey from 21-7-18 to 30-7-18 and during our stay we booked our room in Best Western Empire Palace. We have Best Western in Pakistan as well and have had great memories there and we expected the same from Best Western Turkey but it fell far below our expectations. To be honest it was our worst hotel experience ever based on the following experience: ? It is a terrible place for a physical handicapped person who is on the wheel chair. There is no access for the wheel chair, only stair case is available. If we want to go out or come in you have to look around & beg someone to come to help you to get along. Such a situation is very embarrassing and frustrating after you paying huge amount to one of the best hotel in the world and you don't have comfortable access to the hotel ? You are welcomed with drinks once you check in the hotel and ignored once you check out. ? They have six floors for which there is only one lift of size 3ft*4ft (approx.) which is very small whose exhaust fan is mostly not working. When we enter with a wheel chair hardly another person can enter. In case of emergency it's terrible to exit. ? There is no wheel chair available in the hotel in case of any emergency & don't forget the prestige of the name BEST WESTERN ? In the hotel there isn't a single room which can accommodate 4 person but they are offering it as a Quad room. Once you enter into a Quad room it never means you just have four beds, you should have ample space to move around, chair writing table, space to place your luggage etc. But there is nothing of that sort. ? Normally once you are travelling abroad normal toiletries you can't take along because it's assumed that they will be provided by the Hotel of good repute always. Same is mentioned in the Guest Directory available in the Best Western Empire Palace hotel which shows free of cost complimentary toiletries such as razors, shaving foam, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, sanitary napkins, sewing kits and shower caps will be provided but nothing was given in the room and you have to beg for these things daily and they say sorry these are not available. ? In quad room where four people are residing should each of them get a complementary small bottle of water or not? But here they only give only two small bottles isn't it ridiculous? You keep on begging them daily to please send more bottles of water. ? Extra cushions & pillows were placed at the top of the wardrobe in our room and were creating an impression as we are living in a store room. ? Buffet Breakfast consists of almost the same menu every day. There were juices of only two flavours. Same flavors repeated every day with a very bad taste. Last but not the least in view of the above realities recommended name for the “Best Western Empire Palace” should be the “Worst Western Empire Palace”.

This hotel was well placed and fairly central to most of the tourist attractions however, rooms were much smaller than the pictures, bathrooms not clean and staff quite dismissive. There were a few younger staff in the restaurant who were friendly and said hello every morning but most of the staff did not speak English (although we also don't speak Turkish) and there was no effort to help us navigate around the city. Most places we have stayed at least give a map on arrival. The breakfast was poor unless you were up at 7am when it was first bought out. Trays of hot food were not topped up and lots of families would go up, fill up a plate with bread then not eat it. Also, in the room notes, it said you could have unlimited bottled water, but when I asked, we were not given anymore and told we already had 2 small bottles in our room. Luckily there are small shops just a few doors away. Beds were quite firm and rooms are not at all soundproof, most nights we could hear crying children in a room down the corridor so did not get much sleep.

From the first day of our stay the staff was rude and it seemed like they had no manners at all. They didn't have quilts for us. Furthermore they charged us for an extra bed for all nights even though it was not available on the first night!

Loved this hotel. It was lovely and clean service was great and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Really enjoyed our stay here. Will go back again in the Winter. Thank you for looking after us and your recommendations we had some great nights. We ate at Bistro Chef directly below the hotel because we thought it belonged to them we only found out on our last night that it is nothing to do with Empire Palace. Will definitely be back loved Istanbul loved Empire Palace.

We loved our stay at the Best Western Empire Palace, Istanbul. The location was perfect as it is within 5 to 12 minutes walking distance from all the tourist frequented landmarks like Topkapi Palace, the Blue mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Grand Bazar and the Spice Bazar. Mr. Irfan at the manager at the reception guided us very well in terms of the places to see and transportation to take. The rooms are comfortable and the buffet breakfast is also very family friendly! The hotel also has a clean spa. Highly recommended for families.

It was our first trip to Istanbul. We stopped by this hotel and were interested to have dinner in their restaurant, checked the menu and decided to stay. Building is nice and design is great. There is a big variety of meals in menu, food was really delicious and served well! But some waiters were not attentive (we asked couple of times for simple things we need and they didn't bring them to us) and one of waiters was even rude, first time happened to us, he answer “we are busy, wait!” How rude is that! We wanted talk to the boss, but we've got the answer that their is no boss and he is the boss )))) Hard to believe!!! He said that the hotel and restaurant are same, so I write my review here to get to management know! Unfortunately and fortunately we can't come there again and we don't even want, but I wish boss (Real one) to know this situation! The guy has black beard and glasses, please, talk to him and say that your restaurant will loose all the customers if he continues behave with this rude way. I will also find a page of this restaurant here and will write one more review to get people know! Unfortunately my review is 1* because of this situation! Food was amazing and atmosphere was good! We stayed in this hotel end of July 2018. The location is excellent and very close to all the good places to see in Istanbul. The staff is very helpful with exceptional service. I would highly recommend this place.

It's a normal hotel what you would usually expect. Some rooms have broken power sockets and the breakfast is basic.this place is also a restaurant at night and sometimes preforms neat tricks and jokes.

I have been in Istanbul 2 weeks ago and stayed this hotel. My room was at 5th floor and it had a wonderful view.. Breakfast included fresh, tasty and various foods and rooms were clean. Guest relation Hacer was very helpful and cheerful :) Thanks for everything!

Stayed here for 3 nights after getting married in marmaris. The hotel is lovely in a fabulous location. Staff very friendly and helpful we will definitely stay here again. Would also highly recommend the restaurant attached to the hotel it amazing the food was great and staff were so friendly.

I'm giving you guys a 1* rating just to get your attention. The hotel was very good and the staff are really friendly, I'm already planning on returning here again. Now let's talk about the Spa: The Spa manager is the most evil lady I've ever met, DO NOT be fooled by her. All she cares about is getting paid. We booked a reservation for 8pm at this hotel this morning, around 7pm I went to reception and the receptionist told me that our reservation has been cancelled because there was another booking they didn't know about. Obviously I wasn't happy so I expressed that, the hotel staff immediately took me down to the spa to sort something out. That's the moment I met the Spa owner, she offered to take us to another hotel for a treatment because she owns 3 Spas. That immediately calmed me down and I was happy to hear that. She took us to another hotel and I had to be seperated from my family because there was no room for me, she took me to the third hotel to her third spa and my family stayed in the second hotel. As I was getting changed I witnessed her dragging one of the migrant workers along the corridor, she then shouted at her in a language I didn't understand. She sat me in the sauna and it was off, I told her and she came and switched it on. 20 minutes later it wasn't getting any warmer so I went out to complain but she was gone, I told the poor worker and she tried to put it on but it wasn't working. I told her it was fine and that we can continue to go for the Hammam, she told me that the Hammam isn't ready and to get the massage done first. During the massage she started complaining about her manager because she saw that I witnessed the abuse she put her through. She told me that her papers had ran out and this woman hasn't paid her for this month, she's been working since 7am without a break and the manager keeps sending bookings down even after closing time. After my treatment which finished at 22:30 the worker had to run off to Empire hotel for another treatment. The water in the Hammam was cut the whole time and that's why the worker kept delaying me from going to it, eventually the water came and it was cloudy and filthy. I spoke to my family and they told me that the manager was screaming at the workers in front of them too, she's a money hungry woman who holds back the salary of her workers with the threat of calling the immigration police on her. My whole experience of turkey has been completely ruined by this, this manager doesn't deserve a place at this hotel or at Istanbul altogether. Next time I come I really hope she's gone otherwise you guys are complicit in migrant abuse which is shameful.

It was a fine experience. The rooms were well equipped with clean washrooms. They were cleaned on alternative days. Moreover, the hotel was located near to most of the tourist destinations such as grand bazaar, hagia sophia, sultan ahmet mosque etc. The staff was nice and helpful especially the receptionist Mr. Suleyman, the room maker and other hotel assistant engaged with our room. I would recommend this hotel for it's comfort and location.

the location is near to blue mosque and other museums the room is pretty clean and the breakfast is basic and is pretty good the reception manager, Suleyman is a helpful man where he helps us to buy simcards and giving us an offer to have a city tour for our stay

I travelled to Istanbul with my kids (aged 3 and 8 years) in May 2018. Now I wanted to be close to all the historical sites as the kids are not too keen on long walks. This hotel was just perfect for this purpose. Topkapi Palace was just around the corner, Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque were 600mts away. Grand Bazaar and the spice market close by. The Big Bus hop on hop off tour starts from Sultanahmet Square, where the Hagia Sophia is located. If you're booked on to the Bosphorus river dinner cruise, they tour organisers pick you up and drop you off at this location. There's a great restaurant (separate ownership) within the complex. The hotel offers Turkish Baths and massage packages at discounted rates too, which was very relaxing for us at the end of a full day of sightseeing. The street on which the hotel is located has a bustling marketplace with a variety of restaurants, souvenir shops, grocery stores, Turkish spice dealers, handicraft showrooms which stay open up to 1 am in the morning. If you're in the mood of late night shopping, this is ideal. So this hotel is just perfect in terms of location. I had booked a superior triple room, and our family of four were comfortable in that space. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The only negative for this property was the sound of the Tram which passes right in front of the hotel. I suggest you book a room in the back of the hotel, away from the Tram line. The front desk is manned by very courteous, well-mannered staff. They'll go out of their way to ensure you're comfortable and happy. Special shout out to Tuncay and Irfan, who helped us decide our daily routines as well. I'm definitely gonna come back here on my next visit, our stay was superb.

Stayed at this property for 4 nights and it was an amazing experience! We loved the location right in the centre of sirkeci! We were personally taken care by all their staff especially suleiman and tanjay.They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and gave us the true turkish hospitality! ! This is a nice small hotel located in the old Western side of Istanbul. The decor is typically Ottoman and the place is clean and well decorated and presented. The staff without exception were helpful, courteous and couldn't do enough to please. The rooms are not big but they are just right for couples, the beds I found firm and comfortable with cotton sheets and cotton duvets. Nice to sleep in. The en-suite bathroom was spacious, modern and had an excellent shower. The breakfasts were included in the price, buffet style and Turkish with cereal, fruit and cheeses. Adequate I would suggest. The staff were all polite, helpful and always ready to offer a friendly smile. We would stay there again so no better recommendation.

The hotel is close to lot of attractions and food joints. Lot of shops also nearby. The staff is helpful and quick. The breakfast taste is good , but very limited variety. We are not vegetarians , but would be difficult for a veggy to have breakfast. The pizza which we had was delicious. One negative point is that the rooms are very small. This is despite the fact that we where in Triple room.we had hardly any spaces to move in the room.Wifi is good. All in all good for a short stay. Would not recommend for a long stay.

Our first experience in Istanbul was great! Suleyman and the other staff members of the hotel gave us a very warm welcome offering us some tea while we waited for the room to be ready (we were three hours early and checked in after a few minutes). The room was very cosy and clean, and there was everything you need, even a kettle and a variety of teas. Breakfast was perfect as well: nice room and very good food. The hotel has a great location. It is very close to many must-see monuments and has a lot of restaurants and venues around. The staff is very helpful and able to give you any advice about public transportation and other general information. They arrange also tours around the city by boat and bus and offer massages and Turkish bath inside the hotel. We strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have an unforgettable holiday in this amazing city.

The location is perfect if you want to live in Sultanahmet - everything is close by and walkable. The immediate area has a lot of amenities and food stalls - very useful. However, I expected much better for the price and in light of the glowing reviews here. The staff were warm and hospitable but lacked knowledge of even basic things in the area. The room was cramped, very loud as it overlooked the tram line and poorly laid out. The housekeeping were lovely people but audaciously suggested we did not change the linen on our penultimate day as we were soon to check out! The WiFi was poor and patchy. Overall it felt like a budget hotel but at a premium price. Would not recommend.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 days with a group of friends. The location is great as it was very close and walking distance to the sightseeing destinations. The staff were exemplary and most attentive. We had 3 families staying on our floor who were very noisy late at night and this was dealt with by the staff. Prime location to see all main attractions as only there 4 days. Breakfast was fine. Great at night having a drink before bed entertained by yusuff and other waiters. We stayed 7 nights at the Best Western Empire Palace and were happy to have chosen this hotel. Location is excellent. Topkapi Palace, Gulhan Park, Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, Galata bridge etc.. are all walking distance! Public transport very near. Lots of restaurants in the area. Restaurant at the hotel is good too! We were pleased with the staff, especially Irfan and Tuncay. They were very helpful and really made a difference for us! Nice guys too.. We would come again for them. My wife tried the Hammam (massage) at the hotel and was very satisfied. Breakfast is ok but could be better. More fruit and more variety would be welcome. We choose this hotel base on its location and it certainly did not disappoint. It was close to public transit and to the sites of the old city (Sultanahmet area). Just a 2 minutes walk from tram (Gulhane) and within walking distance to hagia sophia, blue mosque, grand bazaar, galata bridge, etc. The best part of the hotel was the amazing staff that were friendly, helpful and went out of their way to tend to our needs. Suleyman and Tancay (T.J) always had a smile on his face made us feel as though we were friends rather than guests. In fact, TJ even walked us to dinner on the first night of our arrival to ensure we found the right restaurant. The rooms are a tad small but you are in a prime location. The breakfast was basic but sufficient for our needs. It was a clean, comfortable, and cozy hotel with an amazing location and staff. Highly recommended.

we Stayed here on March 2017 for 4 nights. Checkin was good and fast. The room was fantastic compare to other hotel's room in this area. Make up service was very good. breakfast was average and the restaurant was very small.Location is very good and easy access to Tram and sultanahmet district. at the time of our stay, hotel full of Arab guests and the corridor was very noisy. overall we had average stay at Best western Empire palace.

The hotel has an amazing location. Just a couple minutes from the tram. So close to all the sites in the old quarter (hagia sophia, blue mosque, grand bazaar, galata bridge, etc.). The best part of the hotel was the amazing staff that went out of their way to tend to our needs. I would especially like to call out Irfan, Suleyman, and Tuncoy (T.J). T.J always had a smile on his face with a warm welcome and made us feel as though we were friends rather than guests. Both Suleyman and Irfan were able to accommodate a room change for us with no fuss. The three of them were patient, kind, and very helpful. This is clean, comfortable, and cozy hotel with an amazing location and staff.

My friend and I travelled to Istanbul in March 2018 for a week. Our stay at the hotel was part of our fabulous trip to this amazing city. The hotel is close to public transport and tourist attractions in the old city. It is centralized to cater all of your needs. The stay was pleasant and we can only rave about the staff. The frontdesk was always on duty. Thanks to Sulaymane and especially Irfan who always had joke to share and gave us good offers on the hotels spa and hammam. Our morning breakfast was always a highlight with bellboy Tuncay Ceyhan with his charms and assistance always but a smile on our face. The breakfast served was more than satisfactory. especially try the Pistachio cake served with breakfast... delicious!!! You can have a good hearty breakfast that keeps you going till lunch. The rooms are clean and housekeeping ladies were very on the ball. The rooms were comfortable and more then adequate after a day of sightseeing. The spa and hammam experience was very good and the staff is very accommodating and we had a very relaxing experience. If you looking for an affordable hotel with more than basic leisures this is highly recommended.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with my family. The hotel had a more European flavor to it than the Best Western hotels I've stayed in the US, which is something to be aware of if you are expecting the hotel to be just like the Best Westerns in the US. The people working at the reception helped us with storing our luggage since we arrived at the hotel early in the morning. The best thing about the hotel for us was the location, being on the tram line in the Sultenahmet area and within easy walking distance of such places as the Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque, and the Grand Bazaar. The old train station used by the Oriental Express train is also quite close to the hotel. Our room was a reasonable size by European standards and was clean with comfortable beds. The only negatives for us were the noise from the street below and the fact that cigarette smoke drifted into our room from people smoking outside the hotel. I am quite sensitive about cigarette smoke and I smelt it in the hotel reception and hallways. The breakfasts were quite hearty, with a selection of cooked and cold items. There are lots of cafes, restaurants, and shops in the area around the hotel. We enjoyed our stay.

Went for 5 nights for my mum's birthday. Hotel was situated in a very good area and about a 10 minute walk to the blue mosque. Staff were very friendly especially at the international restaurant beside the hotel. Overall an very enjoyable trip :)

First i really want to tell you that staff are very friendly and helpfull ,especially suleyman and Tuncay.these two guys has really smily face :).they are really helpfull they made our trip extra nice and helped almost everything .. Good: 1. Breakfast was excellent 2. Location was excellent 3. Clean Bad: 1. Wifi was slow 2. Did not acknowledge in any way Diamond Status 3. During check in kept saying, "your room will be ready in 15 minutes. 2.5 hours later it was still not ready! As an ex hotel manager, this is one of the WORST thing you can do! Don't these people have any customer service training??? Just say when it will be ready, We wasted a lot of time waiting because of this lie. I found this extremely unprofessional. 4. Room was NOT what they show online. It was extremely small. One of the smallest room we've stayed at. It was impossible to walk around the bed, that's how small it was. Forget about any upgrades for Diamond status, but simply providing an advertised size room would've been great. Especially when you consider the fact the hotel was not busy at all. 5. Tiny washroom. 6. Staff just seemed uninterested in service in any way and were more into talking to each other instead. 7. I found part of their horrible customer service started at the check in when the first thing(!!) they asked if we would want to join their tours. When we said no, the whole thing above started, with a change of attitude. So...yah. Perhaps take the tours if you want good service and good size rooms at this hotel. Otherwise, don't expect good service or good rooms. And this is the truth and you can read other reviews stating the same thing!! No tours - no customer service or good rooms. Despicable! Don't trust the current exaggerated high ratings from reviewers who only have 1 review. PS. based on pictures other people posted here. The front desk person who was behaving so badly and spoiled our stay was Suleyman. Will not stay here again!

Visited this in month of March - a bit cold in Istanbul. Hotel is located at a very nice place, room was very pretty, staff was very courteous and food served was tasty. Staff helped with airport transfers and taxi - had all kinds of deals. Very nice. Recommended for couples and family. Tip: ask Irfan for a good deal on Hamam!

Our family of 5 stayed in Nov the hotel was warm and clean. Very close to tram stop and we walked to the bazaar so tha was close by to. Overall happy with our stay. Staff were very helful and friendly. Nice breakfast.

This hotel is very near agia-sofia and Topkapi. The room was very clean and the staff here very warming and helpful, especially one named Suleyman. It's also near a tram station and there are some good restaurants nearby. I had a very good time here!

Evetything was amazing, the hotel is very very close to all monuments like Agia Sofia and TopKapi. The rooms were very clean and the decoration was so cultural! But the best part (that matters for me!) was the kindness that all the staff showed to me and my family and specially Suleyman! I totally recommend that to everyone!

Best deal for the price. Very friendly staff especially Salim at reception. Located at a very convenient place close to tramway station. A lot of historical places around the hotel. Breakfast is ordinary and not a lot of variation day by day. Housekeeping is good. Overall I'm happy with the service.

Everything was great the reception, staff, clean, location of the hotel near the tram station many shops were around .. the only comment is the size of the room we were 3 people .. there was not enough space to our baggage / you need to change the dishes of the daily breakfast

A very nice hotel, clean, good staff from receptionist to the janitors. Breakfast was tasty. Location was perfect, gulhane and sirkeci are within walking distance including major attraction such as gulhane park, topkapi, hagia sophia and blue mosque and places to eat and souvenirs. I will definitely suggest empire palace to my friends.

Having stayed in 08 & knowing the great location this hotel enjoys I was looking forward to a 2nd visit. They took us to a room on the top floor only to find someone else in it; so we got a room on 1st. As a result we were subject to the noise from the cafe below. Late on our 3rd nt we experienced a lot of noise & my partner went down to complain. He was ridiculed & staff seemed disinterested. We complained the next morning & expect a refund for that awful night. I see comments on staff pushing tours - we were sold a Bosporous Dinner & Show at €100; it was awful & we got our money back! I grieve the loss of the charming rooftop breakfast area but the new cafe area is sensible if soulless. I didn't visit the Hamam this time but it was very authentic in 08! The location is still great just down from Topkapi Palace so one can walk to the Blue Mosque & Hagia Sofia, Bazaar etc which are magical: but Management needs to address the noise issues & adopt a more professional approach.

This is my 3rd stay at this wonderful hotel! The reason I keep staying here is that the rooms are cozy and clean and the staff is really friendly. The hotel is also close to all the main sites. A big thank you to Sulayman for all his help and really going out of his way, much appreciated!

This was my first time in Istanbul, however the flight landed early so I arrived the hotel before the sun came out. The desk charged me 60TL for early check in with breakfast service which is fine because I can start my journey with everything settling down. When I came back from exploring at 5 pm, the front desk told me that they had to move my room because some problem in my old room. I had no idea what happened but I was directed to my new room and the front desk guy said they would move my stuff to my new room. I wasn't able to access to my old room and pack my stuff because they have already let out the room to other customers according to them. I had to tell them what else I have left and I almost forgot I also left my 1000 USD in that room too. I was glad that the money found it eventually but this does really made me very uncomfortable. Also one of the front desk staff tried to promote the trip even though I told him that I have a plan, every time I walked out of the hotel I was really scared. The room is fine, tv doesn't really work in my new room, I couldn't call to front desk even though my plug is on, the restaurant next door has some shows or whatsoever they were loud dancing and singing after 11pm when I tried to get some rest.

Nice and clean rooms. Breakfast was basic with same menu everyday. Staff will try to sell you tours, I suggest either haggle with them for a better price or do your own research. Also the airport shuttle is much cheaper if you arrange from outside rather then asking the reception. They will tell price in euros which I don't understand as it is not the national currency. Biggest problem is noise you can hear the neighbors and even the staff when they are talking to each other. Tram noise is definitely an issue but after midnight there is a relief.

The Hotel is very good located in Sultanahment area. Staff is helpful and very friendly. On the Breakfast Buffet you can find everything you need for a good Breakfast and of course nice strong Turkish tea. The owner is a very friendly and welcoming person.

The guy at front desk tries to sell you some tours, and if you don't buy from them, the tone gets changed. Stayed for 6 days, after day 3, called us to the room around 11:30 pm while we were sleeping to let us know we need to pack our stuff and move to another room in the morning. They gave us a better room, but could have waited until the morning to let us know. When asked the reason for moving, they said to do renovation!!. Great location close to the tramway and marmarway. Walking distance to galata, and other tourists location such as blue mosque and Haja sofia. Supposed to be smoking free hotel, but the smell of someone smoking was bad. Breakfast was very basic and not fresh specially the bread. The breakfast area gets very crowded after 8. Safe box didn't work. Wifi signal was weak. Room was cleaned every day.

We stayed for two days at Best Western Empire Palace in early January. Very close to all major attractions. 2 mins from the tram station. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was amazing with wide variety. Suleyman and Salem are wonderful hosts and always ready to help. Would definitely book my stay again at this hotel.

The worst hotel I ever have been to unfortunately. The sheets are dirty and old, the safe boxes are looked and they can't do anything about it and there is a problem with the card power cutter causes the electricity in the room to not work sometimes or to cut suddenly. You can hear EVERYTHING through the walls. The noise from the street, tram and other neighbors rooms won't let you sleep. The staff aren't very cooperative especially when you pay in advance. I was tricked by the high ratings of this place, which I discovered from the pictures to be meant to the other branches of the company. We were a group and booked three rooms in different three levels and these problems exist in all three rooms except the electric problem that exists in two rooms.

The only thing good about this hotel is the location, otherwise don't believe what you see in the pictures. The rooms are not great and the hotel looks quiet different from what it looks like on the picture. The staff were nice and breakfast was the same and average for 6 days. Next time I will stay elsewhere mainly because they don't let visitors in their hotelrooms when you are a guest.

This place has a great location, very near the tram and the marmaray. you can walk to galata in a few minutes and also in a few minutes you can be in gulhane. the room was ok, we had some budget option so our window looked into some kind of uneventful back yard. it was peaceful and cleaned every day. the breakfast was great and full of options. the dining area had great morning light and was well ventilated. lady in charge was very nice and helful. all the guest were very cool too, from all over the world. my only gripe was the really pushy frint desk guy who kept pushing me to write a great review for them on booking from literally our first conversation. when i asked for some help mailing some post cards he said he'd do it for me, took my cards. then asked for the review again. as we were leaving i said id do it when we come back at which point he handed the postcards back to me and said you can do this youself. everything was good at this hotel except suleyman.

We stayed 3 nights at Best Western Empire Palace They let us checked in early. We were at the property as early as10am. The location was strategic. Only few meters away from Gulhane station and further down is Sirkeci station. Easy walking to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. Near shops and restaurants. Rooms are clean. Bathroom are big. We were in room 505 and 506. Special thank you to Sulaiman, Ali Taman and everybody at Best Western Empire Palace for making our stay a memorable one.

You cannot ask for a better location. Very close to the tram station, metro station, bosphorous, market, blue mosque, topkapi palace, grand bazaar and spice bazaar. The list goes on so you can imagine how convenient it is. The rooms are big enough. The reception is helpful especially one Mr. Sulayman. They will try and sell you some tour packages. Advise is that you may cheaper options right outside the hotel so shop around before committing. The breakfast is great and you will see variety if you are staying for more than 2-3 days. There is a waitress at the restaurant who for some reason seems a little impatient. The minute your plate is a little empty, she just comes and picks the plate . Although this did not happen to me as i deliberately always left something on my plate when i saw her doing this, but saw her doing this at various tables.

This hotel has the perfect location. Just a few minutes walk from the Gulhane tram stop and short walk from all the major historical sites in Sultanahment area. The hotel had very nice clean rooms, good tasting breakfast with a wonderful variety. The guest relations officer Sulaiman is extremely pleasant and helpful. There was a little glitch in our rooms as we booked twin beds but got a double but he was quick to help us out and even gave a free airport transfer the cover it up. Overall this hotel is definitely recommended for anyone who would like to stay in Istanbul near Sultanahmet area.

I will recommend this hotel. The staff is very friendly specially yasin and ali. The breakfast was good. Very good location near the tram and walkable distance to blue mosque and eminonu. We( 2 adults and 1 infant )booked a superior standard room but unfortunately it was small and yasina and ali helped us get more spacious superior room. In all it was a pleasant stay. Thw shuttle or taxi uber or careem will not stop exactly infront if hotel due to the tram lines which prohibit vehicles to stop ob road. You will have to walk around 50m.

This hotel is perfect for someone on a budget. My wife and I stayed here during our recent visit to Istanbul and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is very centrally situated, walking distance from major attractions like Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar. For further attractions, the closest tramway station is a mere 50 meters walk. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast buffet is amazing, we would just recommend that you go earlier in the morning rather than later as our experience was that certain of the items on the table are not refilled/replaced when replenished. All and all, a great stay though, especially from a location point of view.

It was a nice experience but I think we as Arabs did not accept the tightness of the room and the sound of the train was a bit annoying, but the staff was very good with the customers and so helpful .. I wish you success and finally i liked hacer and mugalla they r very nice girls ..

We planned a family visit at Best western empire palace Istanbul. Overall hotel is good. Room size is too small. Breakfast buffet had very less variety. I would suggest the people do not buy any tourist trips from the hotel management as we booked twice and we were really disappointed. We booked Bursa trip from them and it was terrible waste of money. Then we had a dinner cruise it wasn't too good either. Hotel is good in terms of staying for less time . Cleanliness is very good.

We stayed there for five nights. Most of the staff is friendly. One of the front desk staff, Irfan, took time to explain to us the proximity to major attractions. Location -- is so close to everything. The downside is our room so close to the street that you could hear a tram passing by.

We stayed in this lovely hotel which was in a perfect location to all local historical sites that we wanted to visit. The hotel staff, in particular Irfan Yizadi who greeted us and welcomed us was most helpful in informing us of all the lovely places we could visit. The rooms were lovely and clean, the breakfast buffet was lovely and had a good selection of food. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to be a ten minute walk from the Blue Mosque, Topacki Palace and a two minute walk to the tram.

Nice hotel - well maintained Good reception- staff very friendly / helpful, spoke good English. Very good room, reasonably spacious, quiet when windows shut. Air conditioning works well. Good quality bed well furnished. Bathroom well equipped with really large walk-in shower providing three different ways to shower - the overhead one being my favorite Breakfast- limited range of hot food but wide range of breads / pastries/ fruits. Proper coffee and tea provided. Reasonably close to key sites in the old part of Istanbul - only a 10 min walk away from the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. Plenty of really good eating places nearby where the locals go and you don't get ripped off. I would happily go back to this hotel.

I stayed in this magnificent hotel me and my family for7dayes the rooms are big with an excellent view to the sea the bathroom are also big they clean the room every day and they put different sizes of towels and the breakfast was very good variety of everything The hotel is located in the old city so all the important tourist sites are nearby 10 minutes walking and you will bein topcapi museum and Aya sofia mosque and eminonu port from there you can go to bursa city or to princess island And don't worry about dinner because all the restaurants and coffee shops they are in the area Special thank to Suleyman he work in the reception he know a lot of things here in Istanbul he can really help you And also special thanks to hacer she has a beautiful smile and also well knowledge too

My parents and me stayed for a couple of nights in this hotel in May and we enjoyed our stay there. It was very close (10-minute walk) to Istanbul's historic sites, a very cosy , small but nice hotel with very good and friendly staff specially Ali Bey and Ozlem Hanim (she was at breakfast service). Service provided by the staff was good. The breakfast was delicious and reasonable, I suggest it to anyone who would like to have a hotel close to historic sites as well as metro and ferry stations in Istanbul. The only thing is that the tramway runs from the street before the hotel therefore it's better to take rooms at upper floors, rooms aren't very spacious (that is natural for the hotel in that area) and sometimes there were sounds of loud music or laughter in the middle of the night from the restaurants in the nearby alley. Taxis can't also stop before the hotel and you have to walk a bit particularly when you arrive and your luggage is heavy. But overall as I said, I suggest the hotel to visitors.

Me an my wife decided to go to Istanbul for a week. After few days of searching and reading through reviews on different sites we decided to book Best Western Empire Palace hotel in Sultanahmet area. We arrived couple of hours before check in time but there was no any problems or delays from hotel staff and they let us in our room. At the reception I was informed that because I stay for 5 nights they give me bigger and better room than the one I booked (very nice welcome) Rooms loom exactly as on pictures. Everything is clean and tidy. Bathroom is small but very clean. Breakfast was good with variety of cheese and some fresh fruits, dry Fruits etc. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It worth every euro we paid. Irfan Ali especially and actually all staff people in this hotel are great people. Ready to help at any time. Very responsive to your requests. Location is excellent. Walking distance to all main places in Sultanahmet. Train station is nearby. Will definitely choose this hotel next time I am in Istanbul.

I stayed at this property for 5nights with my wife and 3yr old son. 1. The rooms are decent sized and clean, 2. The location is brilliant just 2mins away from Gulhane Tram Station and a stop away from Sultanahmet. 3. The staff is amazing, Particularly Irfan. 4. The connected bistro offers decent turkish food and amazing Sheesha. 5. What I particularly like is how welcoming and caring the entire staff is towards children. All in all what an amazing trip. We were 6 nights in this hotel. It's cheap enough for the services they provide. Clean room, good breakfast, kind waiters. The position is perfect: near the port where's the Gold Horn (Eminou), near Topkapi palace, Haya Sophia and... near the tram... probably too much near. Maybe this is the only bad part. Just outside the hotel there are tram tracks and every 5-10 minutes you could hear the tram going under your windows. Windows have a good isolation, but not enough for that. So till midnight and from five a.m. you will hear a lot of noise. I mean after one day probably you start getting used to this noise, but this hotel is not made for those people who have a light sleep. If you don't mind it, everything was good.

We had a perfect one-night stay at this hotel. Since we were arriving very late, and we are BW Diamond, they upgraded us to a lovely high-floor corner room. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the toilet had a HUGE shower. The bed was of good size but pillows were some kind of memory foam which I'm not super fan of. Breakfast was included and excellent ! Lots of choice and very fresh :) Staff is great, they helped us with everything we needed.

Very noisy location not only from the outside, also inside the rooms you can actually hear everything from the neighboring rooms (children crying, phone alarms) and corridor, poor customer service, reception staff has no clue of what they are doing.

I stayed at this hotel in early May with my wife. All experiences from check-in to checkout were great. Breakfast has many choices and Wifi as excellent. Staff at reception was always there to help and answer any questions.

After our 10 hour flight returning to the USA my heart is still with the wonderful staff of the Empire Palace. Our 8 night vacation left us wanting to stay forever! A warm professional Staff, from the front desk, housekeeping, breakfast team, and the waiters in Cafe Bistro who served us incredible tasting food, all were outstanding. We have vacationed in Istanbul 4 times in 3 years, and the Empire Palace Hotel is far superior to the previous Hotels we stayed in with the best Staff who enjoy what they do and take pride in their work. We are already planning our next vacation to Istanbul and the Empire Palace Hotel!!!!!!

We stayed 8 nights in two different rooms. The first 5 days we stayed in twin bed room # 404. There was a small pool of water on the bathroom floor. At the beginning we didn't pay much attention on it. After 4 nights the pool strarted to be such big, that we informed it to the reception. The leaking seemed to be severe and thus we had to change to room # 303, which too, is a twin bed room a little bit smaller but also cosier than # 404. Both of the rooms and bathrooms were extremely clean every day. We would give 5 points for the cleanliness. The floor is wooden with a foot frendly lacquer surface. The surface area of the rooms is quite big when considering that the room price was at middle range and the hotel situated optimally from the stand point of a turist. Speed of the wifi was moderate and a little bit better in # 404 compared to # 303. The air conditioning apparatus in both rooms worked very well keeping exactly the adjusted temperature. The buffet breakfast didn't match our expectations of a 4 star hotel. During the 8 days there was almost no variation of the assortment. During a couple of mornings meals which were supposed to be hot or at least warm were cold. However, our stay in this hotel was very satisfying and the personnel was very friendly. If we still sometimes will come to Istanbul we quite surely choose this hotel again.

We booked the two connecting room this last week. It is a nice hotel, however the hotel needs some repairers. The electricity switches are very bad. The furniture is a bit old. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast is very good. In overall we had very nice stay there. I highly advice the management to make a very needy repairers to the switches and the renewal of the furniture. Samer13

My stay was really nice in BW Empire Palace. Many shops & restaurant around the hotel. Sultanahmet is few minutes away by feet. Tram station is just below the hotel. My room was upgraded thanx to the supervisor there. I will definitely book this hotel again.

Returned second year in a row. Loved the location friendly staff and clean hotel. Airport transfers are offered. Excellent restaurant attached to hotel - Bistro Chef. I thin walking distance of Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and 2 minutes from tram station which is very easy to use.

The staff at the hotel are extremely helpful and professional, especially when it comes to booking excursions and transfers to the airport. The location is incredibly convenient, a 5 minute walk from the blue mosque and a 2 minute walk from the bosphorus. If you're looking for huge luxury rooms this might not be for you, but personally I enjoyed the cleanliness and ample amenities.

A very welcoming staff and the perfect location...rooms are a bit small but you won't spend a lot of time in your room in Istanbul.... room service available.. walk to all the sights and a few minute walk to the park...do be careful when leaving as the tram runs down the street directly out the front door....all in all a pleasant stay at a good price!

We stayed in the Best Western Palace Hotel Istanbul. We did not get what we expected after reading all the reviews and were expecting much higher standards. The hotel itself is very small and furniture including the beds old and in need of repair. The breakfast was inclusive but was just about edible. The staff try to sell you packages at higher rates than if you book the excursion yourself. Staff is not professional but over eager and try to get good reviews by promising to upgrade you to better rooms. Tram lines are very noisy in the front rooms. Also the rooms are much smaller that what you see in the pictures. Very disappointed by the hotel but Istanbul is a vibrant city to visit. If I return will not be staying at this hotel. Only redeeming factor about the hotel is that it is near many of the tourist attractions in Istanbul.

We stayed at the empire palace during our visit to Istanbul. Suleman, at the front desk did an excellent job trying to accomodate to our needs and provided excellent customer service. Addittionally, the hotel is very well located, walking distance to all main historical attractions on the old city the bule mosque, grand bazaar, Sofia, etc..... Definately recommend this hotel for the budget concious looking for a comfortable, clean accommodation for their visti.

I can recommend the hotel to anyone who is looking for good value for price deal. The location and the rooms are perfect. A little bit to be asked on the spaciousness side but ? suggest this is a common issue in all old town establishments. We've seen much worse in Paris and Venice. Breakfast is also rich although service could be a bit faster. Otherwise we had a great time, everyone at the hotel was attentive and super friendly. SPA services were excellent! I gave some laundry to the house keeping, there was a stain which ? did not expect to come out but I just needed a fresh t-shirt. The staff washed my laundry twice (upon no extra charge) and they managed to get rid of the stain somehow. Plus it was much cheaper than the dry-cleaning.

Chose this hotel because of the location as it was my first time in Istanbul. Helpful staff who provided good service and there was no language barrier at all. The rooms are a average size although you dont get the best views....probably to be expected based on the location. The breakfast could have had a bit more variety but that hasnt stopped me from booking the same hotel again for my second trip.

We stayed at this hotel for ten nights in July. The place is very clean, plentiful breakfast, really nice helpful staff who speak any language you need. Everything was extremely close, few steps from the tram, across from a mosque, shop around the corner. The hotel is just right, no more no less than what you need for a really great enjoyable stay in the best city in the world ??.

The hotel wasn't as I expect: so moderates breakfast lacks differentiation limited options expected more for paid price. Room service was the worst (drawers were opened) bed sheets weren't changed for 4 days. The hotel location is centered in the city near to tramby , so many heritages places , good shops & bazaars. On the other side staff (Irfan & Hasen ) they were the best helpful ,friendly also they assisted in arranging exciting trips . Sauna & massage is available ( couldn't try it) . Recommend if you are on tight budget.

Usually hotel rooms in gulhane / old city can be small but the rooms were reasonably sized. There was 14 of us and some of the rooms were really big! I chose this hotel on the basis of reviews, therefore i will give a helpful and honest review. The location of the Best western Empire Palace, is excellent, everything is so near, our tram stop is called Gulhane. We have the Gulhane Park within walking distance. And all the Mosques and Tokapi Palace is one ride away or you can walk. The hotel sorted our, transfer, but when we arrived, there was nobody to pick us up, so we called them and they said just take a taxi, because there was a mix up. we arrived at 7.30 in the morning, they checked us in and gave us leaflets for tours. Our room was on the 6th floor, family room, not a brilliant view, but was quite. Breakfast ok, tea coffee, hot choclate, scrambled eggs and boiled eggs, cereals, and etc basicly turkish breakfast, they have cheeses, cucumbers, yogurt (turkish type loved it). honey jams bread and cooked vegetables with spices, can be improved. Staff member asked us to do a review, during my stay, but my rule is after my whole holiday experience, so we declined. So he asked my son and he did a review. The first night, couldnt sleep, they were digging up the tramline, terrible noise, second night, the attempted coup, we heard lots of planes and helicopters, and explosion noises, got a txt from England telling us about it. That night was scary, the hotel management could have handled it better and at least informed the guests about the situation and reasure them, about safety outside, we had to ask them everything, they were acting like nothing is happening. We had ants in our bathroom from day one, told them and they put, some stuff to get rid. It got worse, we told them again, they gave us a new room on the last night, it was much better nice view and lovely. Was a faff moving stuff on the last night. Also gave us a complementary fruit plate. Cleaners were lovely, and Hasan was nice. We didnt go on any tours, cus everything was so near, and we didnt want to waste whole day. we stayed for nine nights, but we did loads, time at the hotel was nice, we ate once at the hotel restaurant. We have underground near the hotel aswell, ask at the reception. They sorted our transfer back aswell. Was a an enjoyable time at the hotel and Istanbul.

I arrived late in Istanbul and had a rental so when I used trip advisor to the search I found this hotel. This hotel did not have a parking, however the wonderful staff helped find a parking lot very close and handled everything. They also were very helpful in answering my questions about staying in Istanbul, finding a shuttle service, and stowing away extra luggage while traveling. The hotel is clean and bed especially the pillows are very comfortable. I booked the hotel for 2 nights and I am glad I did. We came to Istanbul for a tour of the beautiful city and I have to say that our trip was complete by the wonderful service at the Best Western Empire Palace Hotel. The rooms were clean and organized and everytime we came back after a hot day outside we were given two well needed complimentary bottles of water. The concierges were more than helpful and treated us with great hospitality during our stay, especially Sultan Suleman and Zakariya. They are attentive to your every need and care for you like family, giving you updates on local happenings, and giving you tips on where to eat and go. Incredibly lovely stay at the empire palace. Staff was very helpful and friendly in all ways. Location is close to the main sights of Istanbul and good shopping. Also public transport is close by to get to further locations. Zakaria was the receptionist during my stay, lovely fellow!

Nice hotel. Good rooms. Not as spacious as they look in the pictures. Checked in early with my family. Irfan helped us for an early check in. They usually take extra charges if an early check in. I checked in at 8am. But a little convincing and they let me check free of cost. Breakfast is good. Rooms are clean. Center of an Old city. 2 min from the Metro station. All the good coffee shops and restaurants are just 5 min walking distance. Suleman is good guy who helped us get things organised. Hello everyone I would like to suggest this hotel for everybody I stayied there in a family trip And the hotel was extremly amazing The front desk manager mr suleyman welcomed as with a welcome drink And mr zekaria was so gentel and helpful Our room was good on the first floor with free wifi service I would love to come back there one day

The hotel is family friendly and the staff is extremely helpful. Very clean and tasty food. The location is excellent, with all the shops, restaurants and sightseeing are within walking distance (Sultan Ahmet mosque, Blue mosque and Bazaars). During our stay we've had lots of help and recommendations from the amazing staff. Special thanks to Irfan, Abdullah, Peymey and Ozlem. Ozlem the cake that you've baked was very tasty??. Thank you and hope to stay with the Empire Palace family soon.

It is clean and good location. It is near the tram station and easy to go any where . The staff is helpful and try to support you when you are asking . There are nearby shops and restaurants. There was issues with get ironing.

The staff are very friendly, the breakfast is up to standard and the views are just excellent definitely worth the money, the desk manager Suleiman was a gentleman told us all the good locations and what transport to take

Everything was amazing the rooms and the food even the views either. The hotel was so much clean and quite. The service was more the excellent! Really really the best hotel ever I have been to. I recommend you all to this hotel. Suleyman is a very helpful man????.

Hotel location close to all major attraction 5 minutes blue mosque and hagia sophia me and my family was very happy because staff was amazing specially in front of dest manager suleyman very sweet man he always ready to help you for you breakfast was enough and room was very clean and large room number 306 nice shower we definitely come back here soon

The hotel has an excellent restaurant, with very good food at a really reasonable price. The staff are very friendly and the location is near all the good places in Istanbul. The room service is excellent and there's really fast wifi as well! Overall we had a really good stay!

This hotel fantastic and really nice place, Mr. Sûleyman and Mr.irfan there great people when you visit this hotel contact with them, room clean and confutable next time when we visit turkey we will stay in same hotel, there is good food and i like spaghetti its very testy.

Excellent Entertainment, Friendly behaviour, Good Room, Warm reception in hotel best empire palace and also visit the most beautiful and memorable historical places, lots of shopping centre, eye shooting river side seeing, tasty and healthy turkish food and nice tea.

We have been here now for 3 days. We are very surprised because we get more than we except. We are happy to choose this hotel for our vacation in Istanbul. It's directly in the centrum where everything is. We just need some minutes to the bazaar. It's also very close to bus and train stations. The breakfast is very good and the rooms are very clean. Great service , room service was always available. Good breakfast buffet . The room was comfortable and pleasing with a nice view. excellent location , most visited monuments and tourist attractions were a station away from us. I would definitely come here again
