    « Excellent hotel »

Hotel is one of the most excellent hotel in Istanbul with unique location in front of the Marmara Sea. Good for relaxation and to enjoy the view of the sea in the morning from room window and while you are in the restaurant having breakfast. Very good staff who are friendly and supportive.

« Wonderful hotel in all aspects »

Best Western CITADEL hotel in Istanbul is such a hotel that added value to my vacation as well as my kids. Location, view, food and staff are excellent. Special thanks to Mr. Ridwan who used to deal with guests in very professional way and trying his best to assist them by spending a lot of time making our trip enjoyable and cost effective. Thanks also to Mr. semih and Mr. Masoud and all the staff in the hotel. My next visit will be directly there.

« The hotel was just what we needed »

The location was pretty amazing. Not too close to Blue mosque, not to far. It took about 10 mins for us to walk to the main attraction points. The room was not that big and we had 7 luggages since we visited Turkey on our way moving to Canada. They kept our extra luggages in their storage space locked. So it was safe. Room was very clean and comfy. We got a great view from our window. Our overall experience was great, worth the stay.

    « Excellent Hotel »

Very nice hotel with a breathtaking view of the Marmara Sea .The hotel is also close to the blue mosque. Friendly English-speaking personnel. Mr. Mesut Kiraz and Mr. Niyazi Ok at the reception were extremely helpful and really did everything to make our stay very pleasant. Their help and friendly attitude are greatly appreciated. The breakfast is delicious with different verities of food (thanks to Mr.Fitrat). Free mineral water, coffee and tea are also supplied in the room. I am quite sure that if I ever get back to Istanbul I will definitely stay at this hotel again. Verdict: Recommended

« Excellent in All Aspects »

In addition to its beautiful sea view and Sultanahmet attractive area location, the whole experience was very excellent indeed. The staff are absolutely helpful and ever smiling. The rooms, beds and baths are very clean indeed. Finally, the food in the breakfast was excellent and plenty of variety. I would certainly book again.

    « Excellent Choice »

Great location overlooking the Sea of Marmara. Make sure you get a room facing the sea it was one of the highlights of our stay. The room we were in was small but but in good condition. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast had many items to pick from and was a real treat. The hotel is only a short walk to the major sites in Istanbul. We stayed 10 days at the hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

« Fantastic location, fantastic hotel, fantastic food, fantastic staff »

We stayed here for a city break in June. Views from the hotel were stunning. You are within a 10 minute stroll of the local shops, bars and restaurants. However the food in the hotel is fantastic so worth staying in. We walked along the beachfront to the harbour. Within walking distance of so many wonderful places to visit. If heading to Istanbul I would highly recommend this Hotel.

    « Great hotel. »

My family and I spent a short trip in istanbul. This hotel was perfectly located within 5-10 minute walk through local neighborhood streets to the Sultan Ahmet tourist area. Good food is around the corner, the hotel breakfast is traditional Mediterranean food. The hotel staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They made us very comfortable. Everyone was very warm and friendly. The rooms were clean and modern, a bit tight but I think very roomy given the old town/historical architecture of the area. The rooms also have a great view of the sea. Most tourist attractions are walking distance as is the bosphorus straight cruises and the bus tours. The narrow streets are easy to get lost in but anyone will help you get back to your destination. I would definitely stay here again.

« Nice location and friendly staff but a very average hotel »

I booked this hotel based on the excellent reviews on trip advisor and its great location in Sultanahmet. We stayed in a twin room with an obscured with of Ayasofia. Our biggest gripe was that the room was extremely small. there is very little room to even stand up and move around and no space to layout luggage or sit down other than the beds. The room was also extremely hot at night despite the air conditioning being turned to 15 deg C. Its a central A/C system which is loud and does not work properly. The window can be opened but be prepared to wake up around 4 am for the call to prayer which is extremely loud. Single beds were small but are very comfortable. The hotel location is good, set back on a quieter side of Sultanahmet and its about a 10 minute walk to the blue mosque/ Aysofia. This walk is up a fairly steep hill though in case you have difficulties. On the route to the mosques there is a lovely street full of bars and restaurants. The hotel breakfast is a more traditional turkish continental breakfast with the option of eggs and omlettes cooked to order. As a Coeliac, i was really limited in what i could eat as there is not much choice other than breads and pasties. The view over the Bosphurus from the breakfast terrace is really nice. We even saw dolphins one morning. Staff were excellent, very nice and accommodating. Wifi was free and fast. If you are looking at staying here, definitely upgrade the room to a larger size with a sea view. The cheaper rooms are not good value and are quite uncomfortable.

« Awesome service, mesmerising view »

We are right now staying at this hotel, rooms are good we rather got upgrade for sea view room without extra charges, awesome view of bosphorous, very helpful and vigilent staff and service. They even arrange for your trips and drop offs, I'm hoping for rest of my trip to go on like this, definitely coming back for my next vacations here.

« Fantastic and helpful staff »

We booked this hotel after searching long and hard on the Internet. This holiday was going to be a special one as we were celebrating my wife's milestone birthday. The helpfulness of the people wasn't just at the hotel, it was way before we actually went there. I contacted a member of staff to arrange for a cake and flowers and after few email exchanges (regarding type of flowers etc) it was all booked and done. They also suggested a restaurant (Hamidi terrace restaurant - one of the finest) and also arranged for a cake there too. All and all a fantastic experience. Some of the points which you need to be aware: 1. When we reached there the room looked small (compared to the photographs on the hotel website) - but the location of it (10 minutes walk to Blue mosque/Hagia Sofia/ and all the main attractions. Plus it's a sea facing hotel. So it's still well worth the stay. Staff friendliness makes it that much easier. 2. Heating - when we reached the room it was boiling hot. We tried to change the air conditioning but to our surprise only hot air came out of it. So I called up the reception to ask and they informed me that since it's not summer, the setting is hot. You need to take this with a pinch of salt :). We opened the balcony door for a while and it cooled down the room. Besides these two points, I think it's a great place to stay and there are bucket loads of restaurants within walking distance of this hotel. My twins enjoyed the hotel and they were adequately taken care by the staff ( they were treated like adults even though they are just 7!). Another point about the breakfast is it's mostly repetitive. I mean it was ok but didn't have any changes to the set menu for all of our stay. But if you want a variety you can always visit a local café. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Very nice hotel, sea front and great position. Very close to all the sights, staff is really welcoming, helpful and patient with the children. Rooms are quite small but well equipped and modern. « LIKE A DREAM »

In a word, it is one of too few boutique hotels which attracts both with location and hotel facilities-staff. Friendly and helpful staff, large room with breathtaking sea view and balcony. It gives you energy starting the day with the view. A wide varietyof breakfast again located to the sea view and most attracted thing in breakfast is no charge for fresh orange juice, when you think it is extra in most hotels even all inclusive hotels.

« great location and friendly staff »

This was our second time stay at this hotel. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We had rented four rooms. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable beds. If you stay in room facing the Bosphorus bay, it could be lot of traffic noise but the view is excellent. All historic places are within walking distance from hotel. They even stored our luggage for a week, while we were on trip to other cities in Turkey. I would highly recommend this place for cleanliness, comfort and the best breakfast. Thanks to wonderful hotel staff.

Great staff, very polit ,helpful and friendly - all of them , I could not even differ anyone. Location was perfect and view from balcony was fantastic. The hotel is very clean, very good breakfast, good restaurant. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed. The only con is small room for 3 adult, but it doesn't matter everything else was so great. « Staff at front desk very friendly and helpful. »

Our room was very clean, and modern. The staff carried our luggage to our room, and were friendly. The view and the location were excellent. Breakfast was included and was great. On the last day we had to leave early and they opened breakfast early for us. The view from our room was terrific of the bay . We felt safe in this hotel.

    « What a great discovery! »

On a recent cruise last month that departed and arrived in Istanbul, we decided to spend an extra day before and after to enjoy the city attractions. This is the perfect hotel for walking access to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar, and Hagai Sophia, all 10-20 minutes away. The hotel is boutique in style, meticulous kept, and on the waterfront. Full breakfast is amazing with a wonderful assortment of Turkish foods as well as others. While the room is small by American standards, it is very well furnished with a safe and refrigerator. Assistance at the front desk is friendly and very informative. A hotel shuttle to the airport is just 26 Euros and available 24/7 and in best conditions only a half hour drive. The cruise port is just minutes away via a short taxi drive. For the price, this hotel is a true find!

« wonderful view, helpful staff »

This hotel, with views of the Sea of Marmara, is in a great location near old city of Istanbul. Views were terrific, restaurant was good, breakfast was great. Staff were very helpful, helped us arrange a tour even with minimal notice, and were very friendly and pleasant, with good English language skills. Bed was extremely comfortable, we each had a great sleep.

Terrific staff, nice rooms and breakfast. It is located right on the water and has an indoor and outdoor restaurant. It is a bit of a walk to main sightseeing spots but taxis are inexpensive and easy to obtain.

    « Pleasant surprise »

Our cruise ended in Istanbul, and we decided to stay on a few days longer. We had had good experience with Best Westerns before so we took a chance. This one turned out to be exceptional. The location was minutes from the Cruise Port with a view of the Sea of Marmara across the Kennedy Cadessi. A ten minute walk uphill put us at the Hagia Sophia and the entrance to Topkapi Palace. A cozy cafe with an outside dining area was a plus. The hotel is very well maintained with above average appointments. Rooms are a little undersize, but comfortable. Ours was on the third floor with the bonus of a view of the Sea. The staff was more than helpful answering our many questions, and suggesting activities. We boarded a Bosphorus tour boat directly across the street. And, you could stay for over a week for what you'd pay for 2 nights in Venice.

« An excellent location in Sultanahmet »

This hotel is well located along Kennedy Caddasi, just 400 meters from the Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia, two of the most important monuments you will see here. Because the hotel is on the main road, the taxi had no problem finding the place. The standard rooms are quite small, consider spending a bit more for the triple room, much bigger. Breakfast is very good, including Turkish Delight. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Staff and management were very friendly and helpful.

« Great base for an Istanbul stay »

Great location close the Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar. Helpful staff, quiet rooms and amazing breakfast. We wish we had booked for more nights in Istanbul. Semih at Reception is so friendly and helpful

« BW Citadel has Everything Going For It »

The location is beautiful, on the water - very close to tourist attractions. The room was clean and well equipped, the air conditioning perfect after a day out in the sun. The Staff did everything a person could ask for to make us comfortable and cared for. The Breakfast included everything and anything you might want, giving the day a pleasant start. We spent our afternoons at an outside table, under an umbrella with a view of the water and a cold drink. I gave myself a 10 in the planning and luck department for finding this gem of a hotel and location.

    « Pleasant stay »

Nice hotel, with good service and the perfect breakfast ! A pleasant stay, nice view over the water, quiet area, time to relax and close to the historical city. Considering to visit again with the hole family

    5
« Fabulous Location Overlooking the Sea of Mamara »

If you're looking for a pleasant, well run reasonably priced boutique hotel in Istanbul, go no further than Best Western Citadel. The hotel only has 25 rooms, half of which face the sea, which is well worth the additional 30 Euro per day cost. The view is fabulous! Located only a 10 minute walk away from Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace the Best Western Citadel is ideally situated both individuals as well as small groups with an interest in visiting Istanbul major historic attractions. Service at the hotel is superb! The front desk staff is friendly and very accommodating. Plus a wonderful buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
