    « Amazing Experience But... »

We had a short vacation at this hotel. It is an amazing experience. This is my very first time staying at this hotel and would like to plan for another visit. It's really worth the money we spent. Reaching the very first guard post, we get a very warm welcome by their 'representative' there. He kinda know everything about the hotel. He had briefly share with us what are being offered by the hotel; the pool, the view, the atmosphere etc. We were amazed with his welcome 'speech'. By the way, the reason why I said first guard post is because there are two guard posts before you can enter the hotel compound. We were greeted by the front office staff with smiles, welcome drink which taste so nice and relaxing. From there, we can tell what we are going to expect. The room is very nice. We stayed in 2+1 bedroom apartment. Good enough for our small family. The facilities that they have; jogging track, badminton court, gymnasium etc had live us with no choice but to buy pairs of shoes in order for us to fully utilise what they have. :P The food at Cuisine restaurant was so nice as well. DO NOTE that they enforce strict attire policy. If you wanna swim, make sure you bring your swimming attire. If you wanna use their gym and badminton, make sure you are properly dressed. Another comment is, they DON'T HAVE PRICE TAG for the chargeable items on the minibar. So, we give a call to the front office asking about those foods and drinks. The staff mentioned to us, some of them are free. We proceed to consume those which are free. In our thought, this is the first hotel that serve such foods and drinks for free as normally if we stayed on any hotels those foods and drinks are chargeable and there will be price tag near the minibar for the guest reference. However, upon checking-out, we were asked whether do we consume any of those and they mentioned those are chargeable. I don't mind paying, but please do let us know the correct information. Not to argue on this, I just pay. To add-on, the staff who attend our check-out is not as friendly as the one attending our check-in process. We feel very warm welcomed, but during check-out, maybe the staff was sad seeing we gonna leave the hotel. Just simple 'thanks' received. Maybe my expectation is to high; 'Do you have any comments regarding your stay? Thank you sir. Have a safe journey. We hope you enjoy your stay with us, and do come again.' Overall, we are satisfy with our stay.

« Great pool, spacious apartment style resort »

The room is very spacious and provided great views to the rock within the resort. It takes advantage of the natural lime stone mountain which is unique in Ipoh provided a magnificent view from the pool and rooms. The service from the concierge and restaurant were great and full of passion. The pool was very clean and provided unhindered view to those mountain and rocks.

« Okay but definitely not of 5 stars standard »

We booked a 3 bedroom apartment for 5 adults, when we checked in, the dining room had only 4 chairs, there were also only 4 mugs, 4 bottles of water... Surprised there were no toaster oven or micro wave oven for a serviced apartment. So this is very inconvenient for families with babies or young children, there is nothing for parents to use to prepare food, not a single pot or pan in sight. Then we came across this information, no cooking permitted in apartments that are rented out for under a week's stay. I don't believe this is stated in their website but I may be mistaken. As The Haven is "sold" as a family getaway, they may look to make it more family friendly. We had no issue with the cleanliness or the comfort of the apartment. Reception area was rather small and insignificant. If The Haven is touted to be 5 Stars, this area should at least be upgraded to match their rating. Breakfast selection was not bad, but they could change some items in their menu. I would hate to stay there longer then 2 nights if I had to face the same breakfast selection daily. So if the Management is reading this please vary your daily breakfast menu!

    « Great place »

Dear all Went to ipoh, malaysia for family holiday. Checked in to best western premier, the haven. The place is very cool for family to spend time with, lots of in-house facilities. But sadly the rooms are not up to the standard. Very limited mini bar. Two bedroom suites does not have enough kitchen accessories to eat not forgetting the buffet breakfast very limited variety of food, and service is really poor. Hope the hotel management will look into these areas for upgrading. Best regards Ahmed siraj Maldives

    « Overrated and overpriced »

The property is a condo comprising 3 tower blocks converted into a hotel and it doesn't live up to international 5 star standards. Don't bother with the poor breakfast. Variety is limited and bulked up by lots of cheap carbo typically served to big tour groups in budget hotels. Air con leaked badly in the bedroom and a locked bedroom door popped open due to warping. Very basic toiletries. Small Beds. Uncomfortable pillows. Limited cable channels. Inconvenient without your own transport. Long taxi waits. Pool overlooks brackish water. We paid 2 k myr for 3 nights and saw the same units advertised by individual owners for the same rate monthly. Will not rebook.

« Extraordinary view, great service »

We took a family vacation recently and stayed at The Haven after a good friend recommended it. Checking-in was a breeze. Even the security was super efficient and took the time to brief us about the hotel facilities upon entering the grounds. The view of the limestone hills was nothing like I've seen before.... peaceful and serene. Our 3-bedroom apartment suite was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the facilities including the pool (best feature was the bubble bath area), badminton, table-tennis and the walking nature trail (there is an echo effect on some parts of the trail which my nephew really enjoyed). At the restaurant, I found that the staff were alert and worked quickly to ensure that guests' needs were met right away. The number of staff seemed more compared to other hotel restaurants that I've been to. Overall, it was a totally enjoyable experience staying at The Haven. Highly recommend it for families if you're visiting Ipoh.

    « Not 5 star hotel »

We had BIG expectations of this Hotel. Like 5 star hotel, large rooms and not even that bad rates. So we booked room for 7 nights with my husband. Allmost sounds like too good to be true right? Well it was far away from good! First the Hotel is middle of nowhere (to Ipoh centrum 25-40 min and once waited taxi in reception allmost 1 hour). Very isolated place. We don't drive a car, so we had to take taxi to everywhere, and it became very expensive. When we get to the hotel there is security guards at the driveway. We got in to reception and check in was fast, but the deposit was high something like 1000 MYR. But when we got to the room, i was in shock. In hotels.com/expedia the rooms are like 1 bedroom, with livingroom and kitchen. Well it was 2 bedrooms+livingroom and kitchen. The bedrooms were very small, and they told us that we have to just close the other bed rooms door and not to use it because we should pay extra then. The room/apartment was VERY dirty, there were some kids drawings on the walls, food on the carpet, curtains were ripped, bed was small (for 2 normal size adults), ac was leaking and we didn't even have kitchen tools. Not really what u would expect your dream holiday in 5 star Hotel right? Well after all the hotel room was cleaned, they painted even the drawings and we got kitchen tools (notice: u won't get them if u don't stay 7 nights and the tools are terrible). Pool and running area is beautifull, and after all we started to enjoy. Thanks to lady from the reception who taked us seriously. I didn't really understad why there was very straightly rules about swimmingwear, but still some hotel guest were swimming with normal clothes on and nobody didn't do anything about it. Breakfast was good, and restaurant was OK. Sometimes we had to wait very long time to order, even we were only customers in the restaurant. Once I ordered steak with potatoes, but didn't get potatoes. The staff was nice in restaurant tho. But after all there was too much negative at the beginning that i don't recommend this place to anyone and won't stay in Best Western again.

    « Knowledgeable & Friendly Service Staffs »

Just got back from a group trip with my friends there, I must say all the staffs that we encountered including the security at the first guardhouse has been exceptionally knowledgeable in providing all the necessary information and assistance when we need. Please keep it up and maintain that, as it really leaves the guests with a good memory of the place.

« good relaxing place for family »

a very good & relaxing place for family. The place where you actually bring your old parents ( even if they are in wheel chair )and kids. The pool with lake & hills view is awesome. If you love jogging / swimming in the morning, this is best place because the pool water is warm and a lot of mist in morning 7-9am. Breakfast are great too ( not to be picky , it has ham, bacon, sausages, nasi lemak, cereal, fried noodles, fried kuih tiao few local bfast & cakes consider not bad ). Staff are friendly and the condo unit is fully furnishes with good quality furniture too. Over all me and family having a good night there. Location wise is good because Ipoh town is so small and just 15-20 min drive u are in Ipoh town center for all famous local food. Will be going back with my family again.

« Very Nice Environment ; Excellent Breakfast & Service »

Booked through Agoda after seeing good discount. Initially booked wrongly on the date from their website but the staff service was good at attending to my problem and solution. That gave me good first impression. When we arrive there, there were 2 guard post within a short distance. Felt very secure. Also, the check-in was a breeze but it is funny due to need all the IDs from all ppl staying there rather than only the host. This needs improvement as i heard many gave slight complaint. Other that that, it was a breeze. Our rooms were given free upgrades and it was very nice. The water pressure was good, the aircond was cold and the cleanliness was top. My only complaint is the TV channel is extremely limited to only 4~ 5 channels. Really needs improvement in this area. For the facilities, what can i say .... the pool was very good, the night walk around the lime hill was excellent. The morning, we had buffet breakfast at their restaurant. The buffet spread was really good and to me, it is one of the best breakfast buffet i have eaten. Due to their usage of fresh ingredients and no preservatives, it added to the original aroma and taste. The restaurant staff service is excellent. Much better than a five star hotel. Overall a very good place to have a short relaxing environment. Will i come here again? Definitely as long as they have good discount.

    « Relaxing »

Hotel is located away from bustling city. Suite is spacious but bed size is kinda small. Breakfast spread is good. Lovely glass pool overlooking the lake - great view. Tried the flying fox as well, it was great! Staffs are helpful.

« "Serenity at its best" »

We recently stayed three nights at this beautiful Resort. We had a 2 plus 1 Bedroom Lakeview Deluxe Suite which was very spacious, comfortable and pristine clean. We had a large balcony and the view was just stunning, both in daylight and at night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which included a lovely buffet breakfast each morning. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Great place to chill out and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding gardens, walkways and natural landscape. Would highly recommend a stay at The Haven.

« Luxury hotel with good scene, suitable for family vacation »

Stay there for 1 night in the 2 bedroom suite. Suite is spacious with 2 bedroom and a study room. Suitable for family vacation, even for 2 small families. There is living room and kitchen. Toilet is clean, balcony is clean there is a fridge with freezer. Scene is nice, as the suite is facing swimming pool and the lake. You will feel that you're out of the city and full of natural. The swimming pool is nice, but will be a bit crowded during weekend. There is jogging track and gym room. Front desk and bell boy service is good too. The only area need improvement is the breakfast and sound proof. The sound proof is not really good, as we can hear loud noise when the neighbour come back at the late night. Besides, the breakfast area should be improved. As there are too many guests on the day we stay there, we have our breakfast at the temporary place with a canopy. The food is so so, should be improved as they are more on luxury level. And I realize the food in the restaurant is better and faster refilled compared to the temporary place. They should arrange properly as they know there are many guests. Anyway, it's a good place to stay for family vacation. Although the location is not in the city centre, it's not too far to go to city centre if you have car. Will consider to stay here again if come with family.

« A Haven in Food Paradise Ipoh »

Stayed there in October with two friends in a three bed apartment. The service and attention to detail by staff was excellent. The daily room service was prompt and well done. The facilities (infinity pool, gym, badminton and squash courts) were first-class. The view from our apartment is of the limestone hill typical of Ipoh with a spring fed lake - and the walking trail made around the lake - all adds to a wonderful setting. Our stay included breakfast at the restaurant - good selection of local fruits and dishes. Can see that the Haven Ipoh will contribute to Ipoh's reputation as the food paradise of Malaysia.

    « Amazing views »

We, a group of 10 stayed at the resort for 2 nights. We had a wonderful stay, the room was well maintain and the view of the lake and hills is super pretty. the garden is very well kept and maintained and the staff are courteous. will be back.

    « Stunning views »

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights during our trip to Malaysia. We were attending a friends wedding in Ipoh and this hotel was recommended to us. Our room was enormous and very clean. We were the only guests by the pool so had the place to ourselves to enjoy the views. My only negative about this hotel was the breakfast. The restaurant itself was very small for the amount of guests, the food was of poor quality too with lots of things empty. The staff seemed quite stressed too. Despite this we enjoyed our stay and would recommend for short breaks.

    « Another pit-stop for family »

Overall is great experience, facilities is limited and equipment is well maintain. Scenery is great, of course management need take consideration how to handle big group check in separately individual to enhance the staying experience. Room is well maintain. I like to swimming pool and is super view. Price is little pricey due to overall experience not 5 stars experience.

« A Short Getaway in a Little Piece of Haven.. »

Loved the place! We arrive pretty late in the evening & as the place was pretty booked up, we were upgraded to a bigger apartment. Though it was the 3rd floor, the view was spot on as assure by the reception. The view was absolutely beautiful, pool was wonderous at night for a swim & breakfast was pretty good. Overall, the stay was wonderful.

    « Definitly not 5 stars »

We stayed here two nights during our travels in Malaysia. We booked via hotels.com and the hotel struggeled to find our booking. We had chosen the 1 bedroom lake view suite, but were told that this type did not excist, and were instead given a 2 room parkinglot view - but were only alloved to use the one bed- and bathroom. When cheking their website afterwards, they too offered the room type we originally ordered. I would never recommend the restaurant to anyone - it is slow and the food is average - although they advertise it as gourme. Alcohol is only allowed outside, and it is the same space as they use for breakfast (also only ok). The pool is good, but they only have 5 sunbeds which is too little for 100 guest rooms. We liked the jogging path and the view from the pool. The staff have a tendency to watch over you which is a bit uncomfortable. You have to sign in and out at the gym, for towels and when we took a walk we were followed by security on a scooter.

    « Breathtaking scenery! »

I must say I was really impressed with the mountain and lake scenery I woke up to every day during my stay at The Haven. Coming from Singapore after a particularly stressful period of work, it was a very therapeutic experience to meditate on the very sizable balcony of my three bedroom apartment on the 16 floor every morning. The air was crisp and fresh and quite rejuvenated me. The food at the restaurant was also very good and featured some fresh local ingredients for which the people from Ipoh are justifiably proud of. (Ok I didn't need three bedrooms as I travelled alone but the price was very good.) The room and its fittings cannot be described as luxurious. However it was functional and clean and had enough modern creature comforts to make me happy. I could also have cooked for myself a full meal if I had chosen to in the fully functional kitchen but, hey, I was on a holiday and no one should complain about the food in Ipoh. I was also so pleased to have almost every member of staff greet me with a smile as I walked around the resort or as I was jogged around the sprawling premises on the running track which brought me through some of the prettiest spots of The Haven. The spa for the hotel, I was told, would be ready by the end of 2016. I'll certainly be back to try it!

« Overall a wonderful stay at The Haven Ipoh. »

I was part of a group of 3 people staying in one of the beautiful 3 bedroom apartments on the 17 floor. I particular loved the great views over the lake and Pool towards the stunning shaped mountains . One morning I was able to watch a group of monkeys playing in the rain forest which was a real highlight. The food in the restaurant was delicious and I really liked the breakfast buffet. The service at the Hotel and restaurant was outstandingly friendly and faultless. I have stayed in Ipoh many times before but I must say this Resort is by far the best and I can only recommend it.

« Expensive room but restaurant food is not as good »

Very nice place, modern room and surrounded by hills lake and rain forest. Quite clean and well maintain. But there's only 1 restaurant there and the food is not great. Was disappointed with the food. The breakfast selection was very small.

« Excellent service great getaway »

This condotel is set in a very beautiful and very scenic location. Fairly new so it's fitted with all modern furnishings. Security was tight and made us feel very safe. Had a lake view room and the view made it so much more special. But the highlight was the service- from the moment we arrived service staff were on hand to help with luggage. Special mention to Mokles and also to Miguel. You could feel like they took pride in their work at The Haven which showed in their interactions with us. Really enjoyed our stay..thank you!

    « Fantastic Hotel »

A real hidden gem. Definitely worth a visit when you visit Malaysia. The no. 1 place to stay in Ipoh . Good gym, pool, walking track.... and can't beat the location right at the base of the mountain. Also quite reasonably priced .

« ONE OF THE BEST HOTEL IVE EVER BEEN »

The title may sound a lil exagerating for some. But not for me. Personally I am happy with the overall setup and the services provided by the hotel. I am utterly in love with the beautiful scenery that they have. And to know that they preserve the trees and the mountains within the area, this act should have been the example for Malaysians to secure the natural beauty of this place. Haven gives me a different view of Ipoh. I am travel agent that brings Malaysian to Europe. I have stayed many accommodations around there. But trust me. Haven is something that you must stay and see for yourselves! What an experience! Atiq Suzaili CEO of Mood Eropah

« Weekend getaway in Ipoh »

Visited Best Western Premier The Haven Ipoh during the pass weekend for a short getaway. Very nice hotel which takes about 20mins drive from Ipoh town. Hotel staffs are all helpful especially when you first entering the hotel premises, their security guard is impressive and informative. Check in was smooth and we were lucky as the hotel offer us a free upgrade with a pool view VIP suites with 2 rooms. The hotel offer good facilities like badminton court, gym room, nice infinity pool & etc. Food was ok as they emphasise about fresh and healthy food. It's definitely worth a visit if you're planning for a short visit to Ipoh.

    « Relax! »

Hotel situated outside of Ipoh, approx. 7 miles. Impossible to visit town without a car or taxi but the hotel is a great place to relax and unwind. The 3 towers that make up the complex appear odd, given the hotels position, but the view at the back of the hotel is breathtaking! Our room was a suite, with a largish lounge. Everything was spotless and well maintained. Staff everywhere pleasant and helpful. Breakfast had a massive array of foods - heavily oriental - with plenty of choice, including an egg station ( although the poached eggs were like rubber one morning) Evening meals and poolside snacks were both well priced and good quality. The infinity swimming pool is massive and the view from it is stunning! We saw many birds, butterflies etc. flying across from the adjoining lake. A pathway around the lake took in part of the surrounding jungle, with monkeys, squirrels etc.. Our highlight was spotting a crocodile and an otter - from the poolside! Overall, we found the ambience here very relaxing.

    « Haven »

We have spent a week during August for summer holiday. Friendly services, relaxing environment and healthy food. A great place worth to stay for vacation with kids. The swimming pool is super , the temperature is just right even for 3 years old kid. You can enjoy in the hotel and it is self contained and no need to worry where to go. The lost world nearby hotel is fun to go too. It has an interactive zoo where some lovely animals are free to walk into the paveway. Very educative.

    « Health-focused, children-friendly, great ambience and quality hotel »

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. We checked-in to the 2-bedroom apartment with the lake view. This is a children-friendly hotel, as well for elderly. The view is breathe taking. The staff were also friendly! Cathy (the front counter staff) was very friendly and welcoming, very warm. Leslie and Michael (from the Cuisine Restaurant) were amazing, their attitude made a lot of difference to our stay, they really tried to accommodate to our needs as guest e.g. Children's needs. The food was MSG free and that is another bonus to this beautiful hotel. The security is also very strict, made us feel safe. What could be improved is to provide a king sized bed, especially in the master bedroom, and provide more channels on Astro. I will definitely recommend this hotel and come again for future family trips.

    « Heavenly Haven »

My mum and her siblings visited Ipoh and stayed in different hotels for easier access to various places as most of them are elderly. They stayed in Haven Resort on their last night in Ipoh. It was a great experience for them. They felt safe with the double security check at the entrance, the siblings had a wonderful time strolling in the lush garden, the rooms were clean and comfortable ( my mum is fussy with cleanliness, esp toilets ) ,breakfast was yummy and food in the restaurants within the resort was delicious. All in all they had a great time. The only regret is that it was booked for just one night. Will definitely go back again. Sindy Sia

« The Haven might be in a small town but the facilities are World Class »

Sited on a old tin mining area one might initially think that The Haven Ipoh could be a bit rustic, but a visit to this Hotel/Residence will soon abuse you of that notion. Nestled among towering limestone outcrops is a beautiful all suite hotel development consisting of 150 suites ranging in size from 868 sq ft to 2072 sq ft. As the attached photo shows it is located in a pristine forest yet its within 15 minutes of the town and airport of Ipoh and easily reached in 5 minutes after leaving the North/South highway. The center piece of The Haven is a 14-story limestone outcrop (named ?Rockhaven?, and artfully lit at night), located near a 4-acre naturally occurring lake and adjacent to an outstanding huge swimming pool. The Haven is rated as a 5 star hotel and it lives up to that and more with great restaurants, a 600 metres natural jogging track, meditation deck, barbeque areas, gym, squash court, badminton court, table-tennis room, outdoor children's playground, indoor children's playroom, business center, and more including a private helipad for affluent visitors. A word about the two restaurants - they both live up to the 5 star rating of the hotel and you can enjoy casual dining at the poolside cafe or the more formal Premier dining room. Both serve Western and Asian food of a standard that among the best I have eaten in. This is not an inexpensive hotel so be prepared for prices in the USD175 per night ( if you stay for ten nights that may go down to USD150 per night, but IMO you get value for your money here.

    « Simply the BEST! »

This is by far one of the best hotels we've stayed in. Words can't describe our experience which was amazing. Our young kids have stated their intention to return! The friendly staff/managers actually took the trouble to ensure that our needs were attended to, sincerely. We'll definitely recommend this hotel to our family and friends ?!

« Best in Ipoh, but still not good »

    * The good! This hotel is either new or refurbished. The surrounding is surreal and a magnificent view (see attached pictures). All rooms suite rooms with extra-large nice design. There's a separate bath and shower. * The bad! Air-condition was not cool enough even after working non-stop for the entire night. There's a pungent mold smell in the bathroom. Room was not too clean, especially bathroom (see pictures). Sink in bathroom has no hot water (see picture). Bed is not comfortable, and pillows were horrible. Cellphone reception is very bad. TV has no international channels WiFi is free, but bandwidth bad and not stable. The funny! Some rooms (including my room) have a metal gate (see picture).

« The best resort for us! :-) »

Awesome. Everything of The Haven are most impressive. The price is reasonable. Very suitable for big families spending long holidays here as the facilities cater to the young and the young-at-heart. It's a perfect place to be with your family. My family and I totally love it. Staffs very helpful & friendly. Breakfast buffet has many varieties and is of the best quality. The magnificent view of the limestone hill and the lake from the pool & residence. The largest swim pool I hv been so far. Kiddos so luv it. Playpark also clean. Good job Haven! :-) The food are all fresh. The security here are very tight, only guests and staff are allowed in the premises which make us feel safe in here. Highly recommended to choose your vacation here. Will do visit again. Will do! :-)

    « Excellent Family gateway »

I went with my parents and 3 kids aged 6-15 for 3D2N, we booked premier suite. The condotel's rooms are spacious with open kitchen and living area. We are impressed with the security guard at the entrance, haha.. the way he introduced the hotel really make your day, very pro!! Big and beautiful swimming pool, good management and security. my parents went for "jungle" walk for 2 consecutive days and their comment is very clean walkway/jogging track, and my 2 elder kids love the badminton court and table tennis. The buffet breakfast is about 3 stars but sufficient to fill your stomach. Btw, you need to book the badminton court once you check in the hotel, we only manage to get the court on the 3rd day. Try Restaurant Rasa Lain PLT and Michelangelo's Pizzeria to add some excitement to your trip. Both are fabulous and long queue restaurants near BWP. I never regret to choose BWP over Lost world of tambun hotel, highly recommend!!

« A wonderful place for family vacation »

This place is awesome. It's a perfect place to be with your family. My family and I totally love it. The staff here are all super frendly and helpful. We have no problem communicating at all as they all speak English. What I love the most is the magnificent view of the limestone hill and the lake from the pool. The food from The Cuisine Restaurant is fantastic. The food are all fresh and no MSG added. The security here are very tight, only guests and staff are allowed in the premises which make us feel safe in here. Highly recommended to choose your vacation here. I will definitely come back again!!

    « Nice surroundings »

I have to admit the place has nice surroundings, and well kept and maintained. Rooms are good and very clean. Service is excellent, staff at the front desks specifically go out of their way to make sure you are served, which was quite a challenge during peak period. However for such a big area activities and amenities are limited - other than the pool there is nothing much else going on. I think they could do some activities on the lake that they have. On the second day they failed to clean our room despite a clear sign requesting it. I had to call reception to get this done.

    « Quiet getaway »

Why do I think this place is awesome? I tell you why. I noticed things that I rarely see in other places that I've stayed. The staff here seem like they're working together like one big family! And you know what will happen? They will serve the customer better! And you know you've arrived at the 'haven' when even the security guard greets you like welcomingly. I wish I could have recorded what he said. Despite sounding slightly scripted, the genuine effort and delivery more than made up for as it gave a really good impression upon our arrival ! It's a bit far off the city centre though. A bit difficult if you don't have your own transport. But I'm sure they can provide you shuttle service? (I didn't check for this service, because we have our car). Yes a bit far for good coffee. But it's ok if you want some quiet time. This place is perfect for a quick getaway, away from everything. It just you, your loved one, nature, good swimming pool and nice cozy apartment. You can walk/jog around the viccinity with quick study of the nature habitat along the way. The gym is pretty good too. Our service apartment is facing the pool. I would recommend paying a bit extra for this view. Seriously!! I went there with my husband because we thought we needed some time off for our wedding anniversary. Good last minute random hotel pick! I would come again and bring the whole clan here.

    « Short Get away »

We spent 4 nights at the Haven. We enjoyed the good and prompt service, a rarity these days. Rooms were well kept, clean and spacious. The hotel is located next to the serviced residences and shares a carpark so security is good. Breakfast is decent however be prepared to drive out for meals (15-20min) if you plan on staying a few days as there is only one restaurant at the hotel. The kids loved the pool and were fascinated that it was surrounded by a lake and lime stone hills. Very serene. The Lost World Themepark (dry n wet) and the Hotsprings (visit only at night) which is within the same premise is a five min drive away which means we could head back to the hotel for our showers which were important for us as the public showers were not the cleanest. Well worth a visit if you want to relax for a few days plus have something for the kids to do.

    « "Perfect Trip" »

I would like to post a rating for Haven Resort as 6 out of 5 because: 1. The staff provided excellent customer services ? I felt like I was at home. The staff has great smiles and a very welcoming attitude. 2. The suite is spacious, clean and well maintained. 3. The cuisine restaurant has excellent quality yet reasonably priced food (No MSG, and homemade desserts and breads). I also had a business trip in another Singapore similar class facility, and compared the food there against that from Haven Resort; I enjoyed the good foods in Haven's Cuisine Restaurant much more. I highly recommend the homemade desserts, especially Pandan Blackberries Layers Mouse Cake, and Bread Pudding. 4. The Limestone Hills are spectacular. I was very impressed. 5. The swimming pool setting as well as the jogging track are spectacular and relaxing, and most surprisingly, mosquito free during my 4 days there. Overall, I will definitely return to this place for my future vacations.

« Beautiful landscape but inconvenient location »

My friends and I had a two nights' stay in the one bedroom apartment. I find that the hotel is more suitable for those have visited Ipoh before, sufficient time to explore the hotel grounds and admire the limestone hills, and plan to self drive. Apart from the Lost World of Tambun, there are no attractions or eating places near the hotel. The hotel is approximately 30 minutes' drive away from the old town and other attractions such as Kek Long Tong temple and Qin Xin Ling cultural village. Due to the time spent exploring these places, we did not have the time to enjoy the landscape surrounding the hotel. The hotel might wish to consider providing complimentary timed shuttle service to the city centre eg. old town for the guests' convenience. In addition, I noticed that apart from the brochures on the Lost World and tour packages, the hotel does not offer a map of Ipoh. In view of the inconvenient location and lack of basic necessities eg. shuttle buses to the city centre, map and eating places which other premier hotels offer, I find that the hotel is relatively overpriced.

    « The perfect residence! »

We stayed in a 2+1 (was upgraded upon checkin!) on 17th floor with magnificent views and spacious delicate furnished appartement. The surroundings with the lake (inhabited by fish and turtles) limestones and jungle with nice monkeys made this a unique experience. The seahorseshaped pool was amazing with lots of space and lots of jacuzzis. Indoor badminton, squash, tabletennis and gym all well maintained and serviced made it hard to go on daytrips. Breakfast, bbq and ala carte was really delicious and good value for money! Best thing though are the friendly and professional staff!!! Ola & co

    « Best Swimming Pool! »

This place has the best swimming pools for great family fun. The multiple swimming pools is surrounded by stunningly beautiful natural settings. The hotel is also situated next to the Lost World of Tambun, another great family getaway place. The only drawback for this place is it's a bit pricey if we were to come back more often.

    « Malaysia's Little Guilin »

We had 8 adults and 2 children on this trip and we booked two 2-bedroom suites with a view of the lake and swimming pool. The suites were large with spacious lounge and dining areas for group interactions. The view from the room as well as from the poolside was gorgeous and created a warm, cosy and relaxing atmosphere. Hotel staff were friendly, courteous and very helpful. One group drove in from Singapore and the other took a flight and we rented a car, so getting from the hotel to other parts of Ipoh was a breeze. Overall a very pleasant stay and I would definitely return in future.

« Beautiful setting, pleasant staff »

This hotel is out of the way, about 20 minutes from the city and not much to do around the hotel. Good Really beautiful with a natural lake surrounded by mountains, trails, lush gardens. Rooms were comfortable with nice view of the mountains. For company events, they have a nice course of wall climbing, zip lining, etc. Mediocre Only one restaurant/bar. Service was good but food and selection mediocre Room was comfortable, spacious but not luxurious.

    « Beautiful »

Very beautiful and quiet place, the nature here is charming, staff are nice & helpful. It is situated near to Ipoh city and good for two or three days relax, the swimming pool is nice, and the view of the pool near the lake is outstanding. The only down side is that transport was not easy especially at night.

    « Fairytale scenery »

This was my second stay in The Haven. Every year I return to singapore, my hometown, I will plan a short holiday in The Haven Ipoh for 3-4 days. The resort is magnificent n fascinating, especially in the early morning , with the misty dew like tablecloth over the mountain , a fairytale picture . My compliments to the friendly staffs with willingness and helpful in every department. Upon my return from shopping , the reception manager saw us carrying 2 packets of pineapple n Pomelo and immediately offered to get it cut n later brought to our room, all nicely sliced even complete with dipping sauce , all done beyond their duty. My Japanese girlfriend enjoyed in the Olympic pool n the jacuzzi while I enjoyed looking down from the balcony the amazingly beautiful scenic lake surrounded by nature greenery next to pool. Sumptuous variety choices at breakfast . Clean n big rooms . Wonderful management ever ready to give the best . Keep it up!

    « Everything is perfect »

I stayed there for two nights with my boyfriend. The room was not a room but an apartment: clean and modern, with all the conforts. The position is good because the Ipoh city center is not far. The staff was very kind and friendly and the breakfast was very good and assorted. There is a very bug and amazing outdoor pool facing a little lake. It worths the price. There is also a good restaurant, a gum, a badmington court, a ping pong table.l and a free park. I'll go back there again.

« Best hotel in Ipoh, but hire a car. »

The Haven is a magnificent hotel with beautiful surroundings and a larger pool with spa that is perfect to relax in at the end of a busy day sightseeing. Staff are accommodating and friendly. The hotel is right on the edge of town, so if you stay here you should hire a car. I have never driven a car in Asia before and was a little worried about driving standards. However, the Malaysians are not only lovely people, they are also considerate and careful drivers. Malaysia also drives on the left, so this was great for me. I paid about 600 MYR to hire the car for 3 days. We stayed 4 full days in Ipoh and I think we could have stayed another couple of days. If you hire a car, it's quite easy to drive to the Cameron Highlands and Panang. Ipoh old town is great. Go to Concubine Lane for food and near there, there is a fantastic museum about how the British came to Malaysia for tin mining. Kellie's Castle and the Sultan's palace are worth visiting. Back to the hotel?.we had a very large apartment, fantastic?no complaints. The breakfast was nice, but it catered for all nationalities, with little choice of local cuisine. My feedback to the Haven is to cook more Malay cuisine for breakfast and teach the egg cook how to cook poached eggs. He only cooks scrambled or fried. Overall, I would highly recommend the Haven, Ipoh and would return.

    « Sweetness Turn Sour »

Our group stayed at The Haven on two occasions in July each for 3d 2n. We encouraged our friends to come to The Haven because we found the atmosphere serene and the hospitality of the staff very welcoming. From this perspective, we came back again bringing our friends to view The Haven. Our promotion of this hotel to our friends was with an eagerness and excitement for them to experience it. But our previous sweet experience turned sour when we were turned away at the entrance gate by the guard. We mentioned that we were the recent guests that checked out a few weeks ago and were visiting with our friends. The guard said that only with reservation will we be allowed in. We asked to speak to the manager Simon only to be rebuffed with "I don't know Simon" We requested that we be allowed to contact reception at the guardhouse only to be told to do it ourselves. There were 12 of us of which 9 were Singaporeans, 1 from the UK and 1 from Malaysia. We were greatly embarrassed with our new friends. This happened just 3 hours after we landed in Ipoh. We had seriously considered The Haven as a suitable place for a bigger group. The unwelcome face and an unhelpful attitude of the guard speaks of the lack of a hospitable openness of which the management should work to restore it. We hope this article will be source of information for potential guests to want view the place with their friends to be alert to the frontline treatment of their guests and would-be guests. « Nice surroundings and excellent service »

We stayed in the 2+1 bedroom lakeview suite for a night. The suite was decorated like a show house and felt more like a home. The view from the balcony was beautiful. All the staff here are very friendly and hospitable. As for the facilities and surroundings, the pool is well equipped with jacuzzis and the infinity pool is great for taking pictures! However, the area is too dim at night. You get to enjoy the scenery around the jogging track. The restaurant (Cuisines) is quite packed during breakfast and it seems too small to accommodate all the guest. The welcome drink made from natural ingredients tastes Haven-ly!

« Close to nature getaway »

Booked 1 bedroom hotel for 1 night. Just a day before arriving, I requested to have early check-in as we changed our plan to visit Lost World of Tambun at night. The room was ready when we arrived and I'm so surprise that we were given a spacious room (3 bedrooms hotel) with lake and pool view. The view was amazing and breathtaking!! We were told thats the only room available to fulfill our request for checking in earlier. They are very helpful and awesome!! Will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friend. Pro: - Fast check-in - Pool: warm water pool + water massage + infinity pool + kid's pool with slide + baby pool - lakeside jogging track with beautiful scenery - gym - clean facilities - helpfull bell boy - fridge + microwave - near giant - tomyam restaurant nearby Cons: - No cooking pans & pots - my kids say "only 1 dinasaur?" :-)) This place is suitable for me-family with kids as we love swimming, jogging, enjoying scenery and taking pics of beautiful scenery & natural creatures. If u are looking for a place away from the city just to chill and relax, this will be a great stay.

« satisfied and worth for money »

One night stay at 2 bedrooms hotel with horizon view (city view). This is the first experience to stay at The Haven. This is definitely a great stay & worth for your money. its very suitable for family stay as the facilities is superb, complete & clean! enjoy the infinity pool which just next to the lake, you may swim and at the same time enjoying the scenery. there is a massage pool with warm water, adult, toddler (with a slide) & baby swimming pool. Plus points, they provide you towel. You can also rent goggles or float. if you are not good at swimming, you can opt for jogging surrounding the greenery, peace and fantastic natural creature. Else, you can carry out your gym exercise, table tennis, badminton / squash in the club house. Equipment is free! They also help you organize team building activity, provided a min of 16 pax with a charges (not clear how much on this) According to the manager Cathy, there is a thousand years limestone just close to tower C. A kids play area just opposite the swimming pool; BBQ site is available :) plenty of covered & open space car parks available, just make sure you dont park at a "Reserved Lot" will do. Bell boy service is available, a very helpful bell boy (Mokles) helping us deliver our luggage to the unit, he is patient, handle with care for all our big & small items. Upon check out, he is the one help us carry down and we also requested him to send to car park instead and he is much willing to help. extra bed is available for room types of 2 bedrooms and above (confirmed by Cathy) and with a surcharge of RM95 (inclusive of complete set of toiletries and breakfast). Additional hair dryer can be request at no extra charge. We requested the bottle opener from the bar too :) The room is complete with basic kitchen equipment (i.e fridge, microwave, hood & electrical stove, wine glass, drinking glass, cup, plates, culinary). however, no cooking pot or frying pan available since there is a stove (there isnt any notice said no cooking is allow). Overall its a very satisfy stay!

    « 'Haven' on Earth »

We stayed in a 3 bedroom lakeview executive suite last week for 3D2N and had a fantastic time. I fell in love with the beauty of limestone, forests and lake moment I saw it and the view from our suite was magnificent. Throughout my luxury hotel experience, I have to admit I have yet to stay in close distance of a breathtaking view of limestone. Not sure about the other blocks and I stayed in Block B high flr so my suite was right smack in the centre of both worlds. My 4 yr son enjoyed the pool so much especially the slide and he spent his morning and afternoon playing in the pool. The only thing that upset me was some of the inconsiderate hotel guests sitting around the poolside smoking. They should be mindful especially to children and young babies. Probably hotel can put up few non smoking signs around pool areas as reminder. Our suite was great. Except there was only 1 wall mounted hair dryer in master bedroom which I think is ridiculous. U cant expect all hotel guests to share only 1 pathetic hairdryer in the master bedroom, right? The Cuisines, the only restaurant practices NO MSG concept which I applaud! Lastly, I like the enthusiasm of the staff everywhere. They never fail to greet everyone and even during their morning briefing, the staff came to me and asked if I need help to take group photo. Very thoughtful. Simple gesture like this really means a lot to hotel guests. Needless to say, I shall be back hopefully we dont hv to fight for the hairdryer next time :)

    « A peaceful haven »

Great for a peaceful weekend. Very impressed by the enthusiasm shown by the staff, starting right from the security guard at the entrance gate who delivered his 5-min sales talk to the coffee house team who promoted the restaurant's natural food concept. The apartment we stayed in was clean and best of all, overlooked the green jungle and pool. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning soon.

    « A bit different »

Stayed for two nights on a quick visit to Ipoh just because its on the road between penang and KL. The outlook over the mountains and lake is beautiful and makes an otherwise standard apartment style hotel memorable. The hotel is actually integrated with holiday apartments often used as a weekend getaway by KL types. Only one restaurant is open at the moment but this served good food and the staff are both friendly and efficient. Pool is large, clean and fun. If you need to go exploring ipoh you need a taxi. The hotel taxi is expensive so we just ordered uber and let the hotel know they were coming for us (security is tight with two check points). Wifi was woeful and has been an ongoing issue judging by reviews. Hotel has plenty of excuses for this - but no resolution as yet.

    « Satisfied »

I am impressed with the foreign staff at the hotel (from the guard house, cleaner and the bell boy). It was easy to communicate with them and they will always greet you. I felt comfortable and safe. One thing that I noticed is that there were no mosquito or big insects that came the night we forgot to close the glass window at the balcony. It was a great stay!

« Weekend getaway from KL »

Came from KL for a getaway thats not too faraway. Booked the hotel 1 day, I wouldnt say its cheap however its worth the price. Get the lakeview room as the view was excellent. A bit scary at night as it was very dark but very comforting to wake up to the sound of the jungle and the green of the trees. Good if youre trying to escape from the concrete jungle :) The breakfast spread was so-so. Not 5-star rated but has all the usual food choices. Honestly I have a very high expectation on premium hotel breakfast but some were a little bit cold like the hash brown or fried wontons. Also I wished there were waffles or pancakes to complete the spread. There is a path around the lake which was nice for a morning walk/jog. You can see the limestone up close but beware of the monkeys strolling around but they will not disturb you. Lost world of Tambun is 5 mins drive. Ipoh town around 15mins away. Best if you have a car to move around.

    « Expected more »

The room was clean (but not under the bed), it was big (apartment), the surroundings were amazing and the pool was great. That being said, this is a hotel you mainly visit for the surroundings. The mountains and the jungle were truly amazing! The staff did their best (especially Michael at the restaurant, wouldn't be the same without him and his constant smile and help). Restaurant: To put it the positive way: stick to desserts! The chef must be a pastry chef, because the desserts and cakes were devine! If you need proper food, go against all rules in Asia and stick to western food. The lamb was really good! Unfortunately the food was often cold and we didn't get quite what we ordered (missing potatoes, missing a dessert, got a beer too much). I found the rooms a bit too modern (boring), the sofa was impossible to relax in and there were no channels on the TV in the bedroom. I was kinda expecting more at a 5 star hotel... It will cost you RM 30-40 for a taxi into town, so would have been nice with a proper restaurant. What a shame that the hotel consists of 3 enormous modern buildings that blocks the sun to the pool. It could have been made so much more adventurous. All that being said, because of the surroundings and the special location, it is worthwhile to stay for a night, maybe two.

« Self service apartments. Great. »

Nice and clean. Self service. We requested for a spare bed for our child and was charged RM90 per night which I thought was a bit off. Lovely lake setting amongst the hills. nice pools for adult and kids. Staff were really friendly. Good sized kitchen with full sized fridge and a microwave. No utensils though. No washing machine. No bath. Quite a way from town so would not recommend if you don't have a car. About 5 mins drive to town. Come here for peace and quiet. It's not a buzzing lively place to stay but very nice and quiet if that's what you're after.

    « An embarrassing experience. »

My company recently held our annual dinner at the small banquet hall and booked some units for our guests and staff. We have no complaints on the apartment conditions, but the dinner event was a massive humiliation for us. I can promise that it was the worst dinner function that I had experienced ever in any hotel. The waiters did not appear to have any experience and were at a lost, let alone serve food. The pre-dinner cocktail was ta total embarrassment to us as hosts as no drinks were served to our guests at all. And despite our complaints, the captain could not be seen anywhere and the waiters seemed utterly confused. Dinner was served before even two thirds of the guests were seated and after the first course, there were still no drinks served despite our repeated calls to the waiters. The quality of some of the food was atrocious and some guests even complained of stale fried rice. When we complained to the senior staff about the service, they kept on offering excuses and blaming other parties instead of trying to resolve the problems. It was a such a huge embarrassment for our us.

« Friendly staff members, comfortable stay »

It was just 2 1/2 drive from Kuala Lumpur. THE HAVEN - BEST Western experience started when you first arrive at the main guardhouse where a friendly Indian man will greet and brief you on the best offers at the resort. He took almost 3 full minutes to describe what's available at the hotel and the must do activities, while registering your vehicle and ID in his visitor register. Security wise, it is a well guarded compound with two security checkpoints before you get to the resort reception area. So, if you are concerned about safety, this is the place where you can be rest assured of a peace of mind. As when you arrive at the reception, friendly staff members will greet you and make you feel at home. A welcome drink and assistance provided to guests instantaneously. Check in process was very swift for me and family. Upon arrival at our apartment, we discovered that it is a full-service apartment with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchenette and a living room. You can expect all basic facilities and services are available. In terms of bedding, the beds are comfortable. However, I felt that the mattresses were a bit too soft and did not give me a good spinal support. If you are so used to firm mattresses at home, you might want to bring down your expectation a little bit, and just enjoy the stay. The Cuisine restaurant at the poolside offers good food and BBQ. Right above the restaurant is a full-service gym. The swimming pool area is beautiful in the evening. Swimming is allowed until 10pm and there is a hot water pool available too. If you expect to wind down and relax, this is quite a quiet place. However you will not be disconnected from the world because there is a free WiFi Internet connection and mobile phone service supports 4G network. Is it value for money? Yes, if you average it to 5 pax per apartment. And if you are bored, you can always take a drive to Tambun hot spring area or go to Ipoh downtown for a café hopping experience. Kudos to the friendly staff members.

    « Henna in haven »

As an Ipoh native I was very excited to visit the Haven, touted as Ipoh's latest high-end resort and condominium living. Was first amazed by the natural settings. The architects cleverly weaved the property around existing limestone mountains and lush tropical greens. One particular 'rock' stands regal and slightly forbidding and almost acts as the Guardian of this magical place. With an infinity pool that overflows into the natural lake/pond it gave this Aquarian an ethereal feeling of zen. I tried the ala carte breakfast and was surprised to find a pretty decent selection of freshly baked pastries including croissants. I wouldn't mind having an intimate wedding celebration here at the haven of Ipoh.

Beautiful and tranquill place to spend a weekend with your love one's. The breakfast buffet was delicious and very fresh(no MSG). It was too bad we didn't have our swim wear to enjoy the pool. I guess that will be next trip. The staff were all so friendly and knowledgable. When you first drive in the security area they welcome you with such enthusiasm that you cannot help but feel good. The maitre d' greets you with life and humour making you feel right at home.

On a visit to Ipoh and without any prior knowledge of this resort which as won all sorts of awards we had an early dinner at the restaurant and later explored what other amazing possibilities it offered. Pampering staff, excellent and authentic food, glorious green and unmanicured real forest Right There. MUST return for more pampering and luxe reminiscent of the heydays of the Oriental, Bangkok, but add the lush rainforest.

Spacious apartment with good amenities. Overlooking scenery from the room was breathtaking. Pleasant walking or jogging path around the lake with lots of tropical trees. It's wheelchair and stroller accessible. Big and wide swimming pool to splash on. Good breakfast spread from Cuisines, by the clubhouse. However, there is no covered walkaway from the apartments to Cuisines. It was raining on one morning we were there. The friendly staff there offered umbrellas to us. Didn't feel comfortable dining in wet feet though. Wifi not so strong to cater for our needs. Sufficient TV channels to keep us entertained. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there.

« The Perfect Family Gateaway »

We were there for 3D2N. We booked 2 3bedroom apartments since it was a large group. The scenary was superb and the smell of freshness the moment we arrived made it even better. We were greeted by an awesome staff, Miguel and his attentiveness made us felt so welcome and much at home. He even entertained our 3yo son. Their facilities are tip-top, especially their lifestyle pool, jogging track around the lake, playground, indoor badminton court, table tennis and even the gym with complete equipments for body building. Super clean resort! I must commend their breakfast spread is superb, especially their Wat Tan Hor (the heat taste from the wok); sort of like a comfort food for breakfast. There was an incident where our 3yo son suddenly vomited either due to speed feeding and likely overfed. Miguel happened to be there and saw the poor boy throwing out. Without hesitation, he immediately grab few tissues and wiped off the vomit from the table and the boy's pants too. Miguel comforted the poor boy and brought fruits to cheer him up. Now, this is something you don't and won't get at any hotel or resort. Vomit is disgusting but Miguel saw it as service opportunity. Peter, if you're reading this, this man deserves a raise or promotion. We hope to see him again during our next trip here. The Haven is definitely "the" perfect place if you want to have a great family time together. Also, there are few RM2 shops (for drinks, potato chips or made in China products) just outside the Tambun road so quickly organise one party with family or friends at this amazing resort with breathtaking view.

« A luxurious and mesmerizing place that me and my family enjoyed very mcuh. »

This is definitely a place that we would like to come again to calm, relax and destress our mind. Some of the negative points are:- - Multi-storey parking (lift not working) - Multi-storey parking (lighting not automatically switch on based on sensor when it's dark, We reached there at 4.30pm and that time the parking was quite dark.) - Free WiFi (Unstable when we were there but they setup a tempfix solution at ground floor.) - Phone coverage (Maxis-OK, Celcom-Great and I was told Digi is the best there)

    « Awesome Holiday »

Another awesome holiday I had with my families at Best Western Premiere - The Haven. This property is a no doubt an award winning with spectacular landscaping and breathtaking view. The occupancy was 100% and majority were families. My big family was with me. Total of 8 of us stayed in a 3 rooms apartment on the 7th floor facing the pool. The Master Bed room comes with a Jacuzzi bathroom. The 2 other rooms had to share toilets. The hall was big enough for all of my family to gather to watch the EURO semi-finals. No cooking allowed but microwave, fridge, cutleries, mugs and chinaware were provided in an open kitchen concept. The room come with FREE WiFi but very-very bad signal. The swimming pool is awesome with children pool & slides, adult pool, hot spring pool and Jacuzzi. The swimming pool is facing an existing lake around 2 hills. There are also a walk way around the hills and play-ground. The breakfast restaurant was full but since it's a holiday, we didn't need to rush. The buffet was adequate with the all time Malaysian favorite, Nasi Lemak & Chicken Rendang, a la minute eggs, cereals, sausages, rice porridge and juices. The sad thing is they don't provide "Teh Tarik" or "Nescafe Tarik" on the buffet. Service at the restaurant was very friendly. Highly recommended to all who wants to have a memorable vacation.

« Great location but avoid Bbq buffet »

The rooms are lovely. Awesome swimming pool. Excellent kids playground and walking track. Housekeeping was very slow to come and service the room. Quite frustrating when you have kids having afternoon naps. We called for them to the service room while we were going out to have lunch. We came back 2 hours later with exhausted children and they were only starting to clean our room. The weekend Bbq buffet was way overpriced. For myr 95 per adult the choices were very limited and the food wasn't that great. On a positive note the breakfast buffet was excellent. Good choices and nice homemade bread as well.

« Spectacular landscape and fresh air »

Soothing environment with fresh air and wind breeze. The whole environment has rich oxygen level. We slept like a baby. 5 days stay with my family seems too short. Gymn room is professionally equipped with natural view. The cool swimming is must go choice. Breakfast quality far exceed my expectation. reshly baked, quality croissant, chocolate pie, homemade bread are marvels. Room are clean and tidy. All the staff are friendly and helpful. I would strongly recommend my friends to stay at Haven during their stay at Ipoh.

Quiet, serene environment. Lake view was nice. Spent 5 days there. Cool pool looking over the lake. Room was clean and well kept and security was good. Friendly FnB manager - look for the bald Indian man. He can give you tips on some of the things you can do around the area.

« Weekend with neighbours - Quite OK, will consider going again »

The trip is a short weekend gate-away, and a neighbours outing. The neighbours were sold by the value-for-money family package. I took longer to decide as I am keen on nature than on the package's city tour. I was sold when I saw that the beautiful limestone karst photo. I rate the hotel's service as a 4 as some parts are worth commending, and some parts need improvement. I like that the hotel provided everyone with refreshing home-made welcome drink, and there were clear signs that food served is the freshest possible local produce. The staff are enthusiastic staff with huge smiles, ever ready to lend a hand, and engaging us in conversation whenever there is opportunity to do so. We had conversation with the people running the hotel more than once, mostly over small group breakfast conversations, and also when some neighbours raised disappointment over our city tour experience. The neighbours felt heard and happy after the meeting. The suite was a delight. The suite has 2+1 bed rooms, kitchen area, living area, laundry area. It was well designed, and facing the karst. We felt at home, and it certainly facilitated good conversations. I didn't get to try the pool + Jacuzzi, but they look awesome, and one of the ladies said the Jacuzzi is the best she experienced so far. I found it amazing to see the hotel staff running together, along the boardwalk and the trail around the hotel. Where I feel the most improvement can be made is the availability of trained guides for the city tour and other tours. We were surprised when we first arrived, and the person who received us asked if we wanted to visit Cameron Highlands. Hmm... we just arrived at Ipoh? City tour didn't go as planned as the driver didn't follow the planned itinerary and even when he did, he was not able to share any interesting nugget about the place. We had 2 shuttle buses - and at one time, the buses went on different journeys because the drivers didn't have each other's contact and couldn't sync the journeys. The hotel management re-assured us that this was something they are aware of and do want to improve, as they are in the midst of training their staff / bringing in professional tour professionals. Anything else is really a minor issue, and to each his own.

« I had an excellent stay at The Haven Resort Hotel »

My friend took me to Ipoh and we stayed in The Haven Resort Hotel. It is a genuine resort nested in a very natural setting with trees, plants and limestone mountains around. I specially love the swimming pool. It is by the side of a natural lake. The two water bodies blend together to look like one. It was so relaxing swimming leisurely with surrounding lush green mountains. The trees and bushes, plants and mountains were so close that I felt like I was Tarzan swimming in the natural lake with the monkeys and elephants near me. Such a lovely haven. The pool is also equipped with some underwater beach lounger with jet streams of water to massage my neck and back. It was very comfortable. A separate part of the pool with these beach loungers has warm water. It is like a mineral pool with massage jets. It was very nice and the feeling was wonderful. Strange enough, in such a natural environment, there are no mosquitos. The staffs impressed me very much. They are so helpful and cheerful. Always greet me with a smile. The food in The Haven is very good. Price is very reasonable. The breakfast was especially good with both western and Malaysian food, fruit and desserts. So delicious and all you can eat and is included in the room rate. I have recommended this place to my Hong Kong friends. It is specially good for a family holiday and I will definitely be back !!!

Ideal location within lakeside and limestone hill karst backdrop location, beautiful scenic view from the balcony suite. We were delighted with their clean, and spacious 2 bedrooms and one study room in the Duluxe 2 room suite. Easily accessible only 15-20 minutes from the city, tried their local food (loved the tau hway at Concubine Street !), visited their limestone caves, pomelo farms, to just 45 minutes to nature sites, white water rafting, and other interesting historical Kellies Castle, and herbal gardens not visited... have to be back for more !

    « RELAXING HOLIDAY »

We had a relaxing stay at The Haven. Staff were friendly and assisted us whenever needed. The atmosphere was very peaceful surrounded by mountains and nature, far from hustle bustle of city. Rooms were clean and a big living room with balcony and a great view. Food was good with specially prepared vegetarian food for breakfast and other meals. Had a great morning board walk. So soothing, relaxing with nature. Will surely go back again. Highly recommended for those who need a good relaxing holiday.

« Travelling with children? Better be prepared.. »

The resort is located around the limestone hills with interesting scenery. We stayed for 2 nights in a lake-view unit which gave us an interesting view of the beautiful swimming pool and the the limestone formations. Furnishing of the 'suite' is simple yet practical however, still not up-to-the mark of a 5-star property. As the property is new upkeep is good except that the bedroom floor was kind of dusty when we checked in. Requests for extra supplies on both occasions were promptly accomplished. Despite paying RM800 for our unit, we were charged RM41+ for our additional child's breakfast and for us who have been staying in many 4 and 5-star hotels in Malaysia, it was pretty expensive for a 6 year old's breakfast. All the hotels that we had stayed before would charge children below 12 years old 1/2 price, i.e 2 children for the price of an adult rate. Guest what? The quality was about that of a 3 to 4 star hotel/resort. We were left wondering as to why a resort with international branding would want to do that! Other than a children playground there was no activities organised over the week-end.

« Great condotel for small group quiet retreat »

15 mins away from Ipoh City. A spacious condo hotel with 3 rooms. Feasible for 5 persons. Nice & quiet surrounding for early morning walk or track run around the Lake. Club house available for simple meals if we choose not to drive out. A bit pricy though quality of facilities are good.

    « Great for a big group/family »

We took a 2+1 Bedroom Lakeview Deluxe Suite for two nites. The Hotel is located abt 5 mins drive from "The Lost World Tambun". Eateries, cafes & groceries are within reach. Unit came with a great view. Pretty spacious and more than enough rooms for a group of four adults + two kids. Staffs were extremely helpful and spontaneous. Breakfast could be better though.

    « Many Relaxing Stays »

This was my 4th stay with The Haven. My family members have stayed there the 3rd time with me. Everyone kept asking about a come-back, every year for a retreat. Yes, we did it again and again! We stayed on very high floor this time, facing the middle of the lake! The hills were filled with mist early in the morning, monkeys were running up & down the little lake-hill! So beautiful a scene. So peaceful! We had a great dinner at the Cuisines. Prices were reasonable, quality of food was good. Loved the Manager (a very friendly and service-oriented Indian man). Staff remembered us well. They were polite, though there were new faces (we went there in Nov & Dec 2015). Would be back to Haven soon!

This is best place to be in if u want to find peace embrace scenic beauty yet enjoy to the fullest. If u opted for this hotel u need not go anywhere jst sit by the pool nd see around yourself...hills tress rain wind lake I'll cn be admired at the same time. Horizon View from ur room makes u feel fresh throughtout the day. Apartment is worth staying for..Big rooms cozy beds..kitchenette..balcony with horizon view.. Hotel wifi gves around 1Mpbs connection which is more than sufficient for youtube streaming anythng. I needed faster internet connection for official purpose so the hotel finance team provided with separate wifi modem which gave around 30Mbps speed apt for my usage.Arranging something like this at such short notice was commendable tat too free of cost Food Drinks prices are not hyped. I am really thankful to the hotel staff for such an amazing experience.

    « The Haven »

The Haven in Tambun is one of the best hotels that I have ever been to at this point of my life so far. The security personnel is friendly because we left our keycard with a friend and he was out and we needed access to another friends' unit for a while. There's even a helipad and as it was not used the other day, they allowed us to stargaze on the open ground. The swimming pool is very clean and the view of the surrounding is pleasant. The food served for the breakfast is delicious.

« Tardiness and Inconsistent Housekeeping »

Revisited this hotel for 3 days 2 nights stay after almost 1 year. Found big improvement in terms of cleanliness of the breakfast buffet serving and dinner area. During our previous visit, the buffet breakfast and dining area was swarmed with flies which was both inhygienic and irritating. Nonetheless, the extreme slow pace in replenishing the finished dishes remain the same. Choices and quality of the breakfast buffet is still inconsistent. Poor on the first day but better on the second. Housekeeping still needs improvement. Shoes prints and hairs were visible everywhere when checked in. Also, our repeated requests of baby court during booking and at reception during check-in were not fulfilled. Baby court was only made available after numerous complaints and a couple of hours later. Standard items such as toothbrush, hand soap, and some floor matt were not provided during the first night stay. We love the view and the pool facilities. However, further improvement required in order to justify for the proclaimed of 5 star hotel and room charges.

    « Fantastic place »

We just check out today after 3 nights stay. We were greeted with a friendly security when checking in who took pains to describe the hotel condo. There are 2 security checkpoints when entering, secured lift lobby with access card that only goes to our floor, makes the whole place secure. Checkin was ok and I paid 1k RM as deposit although room was paid for by agoda. The apartment was 2 bedrooms with lakeview and one sofa room. It is very spacious with kitchen, yard, balcony, 2 toilets with one bathtub, 2 bedrooms with beds, living with TV and sofa. Its more of an apartment style than hotel. So big that my kids can run all around and have fun. The view is superb and serene. Pool is great and big, not crowded, plenty of spacez. Kids pool 0.9m, wading pool, adult pool, jacuzzi with hot water. Absolutely stunning view from infinity pool while swimming. Birds chirping. We took a walk around the jogging track which is more suitable for walk or slow jog that went thru part of forest. Got mosquitos at some area which unavoidable near forest so put on insect repellant. But none inside room and pool. Great maintenance at pool and lake i saw them cleaning up in morn. Nice playground with slide and swimgs. Fantastic food at Cruisines. We have dinner twice besides breakfast every morn. Seafood spaghetti is so delicious that I am still thimking about it after checkout. Lamb was nice. Curry good. Chicken rice not as good as SG chicken rice as chicken a bit hard. Fish n chips good. Breakfast taste good too esp the egg are done so pretty and delicious. Only lament is no cartoon channels but I found a chinese movie channel. Wifi is ok during weekday i even watch movie streaming, but poor when crowded with peole at certain hrs. Nearby can go Giant supermkt and a drive thru starbucks big. Hotel has various day trips which is worth a try if you have no vehicle. I simply love this place a lot. I can see the staff take pains to smile n greet guests, serve to their best. All the staff are v good n make us feel welcome from entry to checkout n food.

Clean, spacious, modern. Great view from our room facing the mountain and overlooking the lake. The kids loved the huge pool. Landscaping and the jogging track is lovely. Beds and pillows were new, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was basic, but adequate for us.

« Awesome view and spacious room »

It was worth to pay extra to have room facing the lake and the mountain. The room was spacious but the bathroom was small. The swimming pool was great and clean. There was a track to run around the lake but bicycle was forbidden. Other facility are badminton court, table tennis and gym. The staffs were helpful and friendly.

    « Family Drive Getaway »

We drove up from Singapore to KL spent a night at my buddy's and drove here to the Haven @ Ipoh. This sprawling estate with just 3 blocks of hotels and residences and surrounded by Mountains and Mined Limestones Cliffs was a picturesque sight ??. Welcomed by a group of staff and their own Ginger herbal juice was nice. We slept in a suite facing the pool and cliffs, planned for 4 pax but can easily accommodate 6. Wifi connections though free, was bad, no connection for 2-3 hours upon checkin. Astro also was down maybe due to rain and surrounding mountains. But rooms were spacious and comfortable beds and even a spare study room with a sofa bed and study table. Pools were nice with a heated jacuzzi (so I was told but not tried) Breakfast was ok not fantastic with the usual American & Asian. Egg station was basic, omelettes were standard and cannot be customized. I must say one staff Mr Miguel stood out from the rest, he speaks good English and stood out from the rest of foreign staff whose English was weak and malay too. Since it rained, we also had dinner at the hotel. The food though advertised as fresh, was not really fresh.. Maybe not enough patrons? But the mushroom soup was awesome. We should also than Mr Miguel from stopping the chef from cooking crab meat soup (our order) as the crabs were not fresh. I am still here , we booked 3 nights and it's really blessed and enjoyable driving around in my Toyota Fortuner to the waterfalls and hot springs nearby..Lubuk Timah, Sumpang Pulai just 20 mins drive away???????? Local food was lovely and most important A great Starbucks joint just 5 mins drive away , Giant Supermarket is nearby for some quick groceries and town is just 15 mins away with great CHINESE restraunts????You should try it, I will most certainly be back . God bless ????

The serenity was amazing at this beautiful hotel. The staff where super helpful right from checkin, concierge and even the restaurant. The food we got at the restaurant was the best we had in Malaysia superb effort to the staff. The scenery at the haven allows you to relax and enjoy the serenity by having areas to chill, walks around the lake and a pool that looks like you are a part of the lake. The only Disappointment was we didn't have more time there. The name says it all the Haven. Thank you for the great experience.

Best holiday resort that I have ever visited. We received very warm welcome at the guardhouse itself. Security is tight as they have 2 levels of security. At the reception, we were attended immediately by the staff, who were not only friendly, but courteous. The welcome drink was AWESOME.....a concoction of herbs. Room was clean and spacious....with a stunning view of the limestone hills. In the morning, all 4 of us went for jogging along the jogging track around the lake. The atmosphere was very refreshing. Breakfast was good.....they even attended to our dietary requirements as all of us are vegetarians.....by making vegetarian nasi lemak and noodles. My children enjoyed playing squash. Overall, it was a very relaxing holiday and we are definitely coming back again with our extended family members.

« It's the human connection that sets the tone aparts »

Recently our group of 60+ from as young as 3 year-old to as senior as 75 year-old stayed for two nights at The Haven Resorts Ipoh and we all had a wonderful time at the premises. It wasn't the infinity pool nor the the captivating scenery or the design or style that influenced me to write this review; but what sets The Haven Resorts apart is its people. After a long mid-night drive of about 6 hours, the group arrived at Ipoh feeling exhausted. A call to the hotel had allow us for an early check-in, which many hoteliers don't have the flexibility to offer so. Qualified staff at each corner of the Hotel not merely greeting you with a welcoming smile but took pride to offer you a help. For example: i) despite the unusual rain in May, the staff prepaid ample of umbrella at the key corners for the convenience of the guests; ii) albeit the slow serving of food at the Cuisines during our sinner on the second night, it was offset by the patience of the staff in taking order from such a big group with all different kind of request; iii) though we felt it was a bit unreasonable for a hotelier that do not allow alcohol consumption at public area but we appreciate the staff who explain this limitation to us in a very sincere and polite manner; iv) the staff, especially those non-locals, speak good English and present with a naturally passionate attitude (which is a rare thing in Malaysia service sector which is today overcrowded with foreign-worker that can't even understand what a guest is asking) has make us more than feeling welcome and appreciated; v) the key card access to a designated floor only was a huge inconvenience (especially for a huge group like us that often moving around I other floor/suite for the same group member) again this was overcome by the staff that station at the lift lobby that offer round-the-clock service. The above mentioned examples were 'slightly above-standard' I would say, but what we feel compelled to remark about was service so unexpected that go beyond the standard'. Upon checking-out on the last day of our stay, we have requested for a space with a good branding opportunity that allow nine cars park, for our group photo. The Concierge staff act in speed in directing the traffic and personally holding an umbrella for the photographer who stand under the hot-burning sun, most of all, a portable stairs to allow us to capture that stunning moment! These were what I call "remarkable service". The wifi which was not working most of the time is something that the hotel should improve, offering guest smooth connection with the world outside will worth the hotel investment. The facilities offered by The Haven weren't consider a luxury or five-star in my travel dictionary, however it is the human connection that sets the tone for a great stay and the main reason for us to feel like going back or to recommend to others.

Friendliness of staff came from the very start. From the guards to the hotel staff, even to the gardeners. Every single one of them just brightened up my day. Security is very tight with card gate access for guests. Beautiful swimming pool with extreme clarity underwater, equipped with normal and hot water jacuzzi, kids pool with a slide, and even a baby pool. Not forgetting the lake view from the pool too. Non buffet Breakfast and choices isn't many in the menu (maybe it's not peak season so no food wastage) Room is very clean and spacious for 4 adults. Decent Wifi speed for anti-socialists.

« Very very Bad Hotel ,Unprofessional staff,Horrible food, bad Management »

We Booked a 2 bedroom suite during the month of May, when we arrived to the reception ,the staff didn't find our reservation.Even the staff don't know how to speak English ,they speak only Chinese. At Least the staff must know the local language or English . After 3 hours waiting with my family , at 6 Pm we managed to get the room .we walked from tower to another tower and carrying our laggage...what service the hotel is offering???????????? When we entered our room ,we found out that the room is occupied by another guest what service is this ?????we ask to talk to one of the manager , but no luck they told us there is no manager in the Hotel.......Again what kind of service this hotel is serving. we went back to the reception and they gave us another apartment it was 6:30 PM Tthe surprise was the room again is very dirty, bathromm is unclean and lot of hair in the both bathrooms and the towels smelling very bad. I noticed that the Hotel is running by the foreigner staff in all the department , because the staff they don't know how to speak English (Bangladesh ,Pakistani,Nepali staff),we ordered chicken in the restaurant but we received lousy meat .(the staff don't know English),and they don't know what is meaning of restaurant service, even we noticed many flies at the breakfast area (this is the standard of Best Western Premier ) The Buffet Breakfast is very very poor .... The WiFi not working......the housekeeping staff don't speak English all foreigner staff We decided to go out late at night , we walked in the lobby and no staff was present at the reception ,the second day we asked why no staff at the reception ,the answer was the owner don't want more staff at night, and even in the restaurant 2 staff was present. we booked for two nights but we stayed only one night because the service is low quality and not worth staying here. This hotel not even 1 star furnished apartment.

« Comfortable stay for families with excellent customer service »

Booked a two bedroom suite during the Labour Day (May 1) weekend. Had to wait about half hour to check in at 5 pm, but the staff tried their best to check us in as soon as possible, they served welcome drinks too while we were waiting. Our suite was at Block A, the block next to the reception, so we had to walk about 5 minutes from reception area. Their room was comfortable especially for families, however the wifi wasn't working well (can't connect at most times) and there were many flies at the breakfast area @ cuisine. The food was just average. The lake and landscape gave a very soothing atmosphere, suitable for those looking to relax. Their friendly staff made it a pleasant stay for my family and I.

There are 2 securities outposts there to safe guard the area , staffs are friendly with greeting everytime they see you. Not to say the infinity pool. It is marvellous with the scene and you can jazucci with your love one while enjoying the view. Superb I shall say. The only thing to complain is only the Wi-fi, it is merely not working. But who cares as the scenery is so damn captivating!

    « A Perfect Weekend Stay »

The Haven Residences is a perfect place to stay if you want to get away from the crowd of Ipoh town but still be close enough to get to the good food. My friends and I booked ourselves in a 2 plus 1 bedroom suite facing the lake. OMG! The place is a gem! We had a little problem with the access card and the electricity tripped but it was all taken care of by the staff very quick and efficiently. The wifi, although they said was available and free, was on the fritz so we had to depend on our own data plan but that was fine. A minor hiccup that's not worth mentioning. The apartment we had faced the beautiful hills and lake and we had a great view of the swimming pool and gardens below. The place is quiet, clean and really an ideal place if you just want to relax. There are technically 3 bedrooms in our apartment ? a master with a queen size bed and an attached bathroom with a shower stall and a bathtub; a medium-sized room with a double bed and a smaller room with a sofa bed. Both these room share a common bathroom. Although there were only three of us, the apartment could comfortably sleep 4 to 5 people. There is a kitchen stocked with the necessary plates, cups and glasses. There's a microwave, a fridge and a stove. Since we were only spending the weekend there we had no use for the cooking facilities. Those staying more than 5 nights are able to cook if they wanted to. I do suppose they will be provided with the necessary pots and pans. We didn't find out more about that. There is an electric kettle and coffee and tea is free and provided for. The hotel also provides bottled mineral water everyday of your stay. There is cable TV in the living room but the channels are limited, but we brought along our hard drives and were watching our own shows in the evening. The master bedroom also comes with it's own TV set. The room came with breakfast that you can have in Cuisines, the restaurant by the pool. Kudos goes to the friendly Restaurant Manager, Miguel de Jan and his staff. They were very attentive, professional and helpful. We did noticed that the staff changed the serving spoons for the buffet on a regular basis, something you don't really find waiters doing in regular five-star hotels. We though that was very professional and although not many people would think twice about it, we thought that it added a little class to their service. Used plates were removed from your table promptly and food was very quickly replenished, meaning guests did not have to wait for a fresh batch of yummy goodness. The food was superb. They served both Western and local foods. I've been to many five-stay hotels both in Malaysia and abroad and I could never find a nice breakfast sausage that didn't taste like it was made of rubber. But at The Haven, the sausages were actually pretty good. The mash potatoes were perfect as was the gravy. The local dishes were also good. There was fried noodles, nasi lemak, porridge and fried rice. As with all hotels in Malaysia, there is no pork served. A little detail that many might not appreciate is that Cuisines has the sensibility to have the egg station (where you can order your freshly cook eggs) outside their indoor dining area. Many hotels and resorts have this indoors and really it's not fun having your breakfast in an air conditioned room that smells of eggs being cooked. The room service menu for The Haven is expensive. About RM17 for a cheese sandwich is a little much, but really why would you eat in the hotel when there's plenty of really nice and inexpensive food just a couple of miles away. The only draw back to The Haven is if you don't have a car, it's pretty hard to get around. I suppose you could have the hotel get you a cab or even get you a car for rent. We didn't check if they had transportation services for tourists, but The Haven is about a half hour drive to the middle of Ipoh town. There are some shops at the main entrance of The Haven but it's quite a walk from the apartments. The Giant hypermart, McDonalds and other eateries are about 1.5km from the apartments. The swimming pool in The Haven is just unbelievable. It's not very deep, about 120m but the water is cool and inviting. Make sure you bring proper swimming attire, no shorts and t-shirts allowed in the pool, as it should be, I believe. If you're coming from Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh is about a three hour drive, and you can stop along the way in places like Tanjung Malim, Gopeng, Teluk Intan and Kampar to have meals. Ipoh itself has really great food. The Haven is about a half hour drive from Ipoh town. It's very near the Tambun waterpark and The Banjaran. We love this place so much we're already planning a visit back in July! The Haven is truly a Haven. A good stay. Great facilities. Helpful and friendly staff. I hope you'll remain like this for many many many years to come.

« Good view & relaxing environment, suitable if you are driving & not full services apartment »

Revisited this place for short family outing and celebrating mother day ! Good environment & relaxing, need car to go to Ipoh city center for good restaurants & shopping for local produces ! Not a full services apartment as kitchen utensils are limited & not washing machine. WIFI and TV is not working during my stay.

« Not so luxury hotel »

For a big family trip, don't go here. Their policy will cost you money. We rented 2+1 room, but we can only have 5 people in the hotel. If there are extra guest you need to pay extra per head. And they consider children as 6 years old and below. The swimming was ok, but there are adults drinking and smoking at the children pool. And the guard didn't do anything. For a 2+1 room, u expect extra room key card, but no, only two. One to activate the room, other is to use for the gate, elevator, hotel gate.

« Great stay, warm and friendly staff! »

Due to my own mistake, I had trouble with my original booking. I called up and Front Office staff, Dinash was kind enough to bring up the issue which was promptly resolved by Front Office Operations Manager, Miss Rebecca Ho. Upon arrival, I was nicely surprised with an upgrade of the apartment with fantastic view of the pool and limestone. At night, the view was even more tranquil and my mum especially enjoyed sitting out at the balcony for the cool breeze and serenity of the premises. The air was cool and crisp and you could hear the chirping of birds in the morning and cheeping of insects at night. The staff at the Hotel was warm and friendly. Miguel, the F&B manager is so friendly that one would have thought that he is a tour manager! I got the feeling that the staff at the Hotel must have been pretty happy as they are supporting their hotel relentlessly. Overall, a very good option to stay in Ipoh, especially great for multi-generational families who can all stay in one big apartment and enjoy a good break.

« Not exactly 5-Star standard, with the long wait for check-in and bad breakfast! »

Since it was a long weekend due to the Labor day public holiday, we made a trip to Ipoh and stayed at The Haven Ipoh. It was depicted as a 5-Star hotel on their website but honestly, I was a bit disappointed. When we reached at about 6pm, there was no welcome drink or anything. We were waiting at the lobby for a good half an hour, close to 45 minutes. We checked with the front office and they told us the room is not ready and that they needed another 10 minutes. How is that possible when they tell you your check in time is 3pm but when you arrived at the hotel at 6pm, your room is still not ready? Nevertheless, the 3-bedroom apartment we stayed for the night was alright. It was comfy and cosy. However, I must comment that the breakfast provided was horrid. Even my friends whom are usually not that picky with food, was highly disappointed with something as simple as their fried mee hoon. It was tasteless, and the carbonara was as tasteless as it looks and same goes for the scrambled eggs! If this hotel brand itself as 5-Star, I think they have A LOT to improvise on their breakfast menu for sure!

« Re-visit with family last friday to monday »

here is some positive and negative review; positive; - booked 2 unit and they upgrade second unit to 2+1 unit. - 2 and 3 day breakfast is good. - front desk team is awesome as always despite havoc crowd. - smooth checking negative; - first day breakfast, is just awfull. - access card system to my second rented unit is denied as they say they couldnt amend the system. i had to litterally go down to (from level 8) lobby n ask security or anyone to tagged me up (level 11).

    « Luxury Getaway! »

We were amazed at the very moment of entering The Haven where the security guard greeted and practically explained the whole place to us! All staffs and security were very friendly and well trained! We were also upgraded to a very nice and comfortable suite with beautiful view of the mountain, lake and the pool. Unfortunately, we were there for only a night! Recommended place for a short relaxing getaway. Value for money! Time can be well spent in the resort itself by just using the available facilities. Long story short, Simply amazing! Will be back again!

    « DO NOT expect 5-star hospitality! »

Stayed at the property for 1 night with family and thought that we can relax ourselves over the weekend. However, our holiday was ruined the moment we stepped into the so called 5-star hotel. It is not comparable with other 5-star rated hotel in the capital of Malaysia, in terms of hotel services. No doubt this property is surrounded by lush greenery and has a fantastic view from the room and complete facilities. But the service was real bad and lousy I would say. Cleanliness was so so as we found candy wrapper in the wardrobe. Our bad experience at the Hotel: 1. We reached the hotel at 5.10pm and we were being informed that we have to wait for 20 minutes for our hotel room to be ready as the hotel was fully booked the night before. Although this was not suppose to be a valid reason, we didn't say much because a 20 mins wait was still acceptable. After having waited for 20 minutes, we approached another receptionist and were told to wait longer without a specific time given. We didn't expect to see such bad timing given by the hotel staff. When we thought that he was actually checking the room status for us, he actually asked us to get the room number from the other receptionist who was standing beside him before he can assist us. This happened only after we waited for 20 mins in front of him. 2. After our 3rd checking with the receptionist at 6pm, we were finally given the room cards. However, we were so shocked and pissed when we were told by the bell boy that the room was occupied by another family, that means, both families were allocated to the same room. The bell boy went down to the lobby and confirmed that we have the wrong room. He then asked us to go down to the lobby so that we can check with the receptionist. I personally think that this is not a good way to treat your guests, at least someone should show up in front of us to explain or exchange the key cards rather than having us to go all the way down to the lobby. Guess what, the bell boy actually told us to lodge a complaint if we wanted to, in front of the other family. Worth to note, we didn't mention anything about the word "complaint" prior to this. This had made things even worse. 3. We went all the way back to the lobby and requested to speak to the duty manager. However, we were still attended by the same receptionists. They replaced our cards and apologised for the mistake. BUT, soon we realised that the room was NOT READY and the time was 6.30pm. After so much hassle, of course this has reached our tolerance limit so we went down to the lobby again and requested to speak to the duty manager, again. We were still attended by the receptionists and they apologised again and informed us that the cleaners were doing a "final touch up" cleaning. Easily noticed from the reviews on TripAdvisor, they want guests to be fair to them, why not the hospitality personnel be fair to the guest? We wanted to enjoy our holiday with our loved ones and expecting to relax ourselves in the hotel surrounded in lush greenery but so much hassles actually upset us. Ridiculous I would say. Avoid this hotel during peak period and you MIGHT enjoy your stay here. Peak period? Definitely NOT this hotel!

    « Family Getaway »

We were greet from our way in from the guard house to the Haven. The place we are staying was big and cozy. The view from the balcony was spectacular. If you want a getaway, this is a place for you to seek. Looking forward for coming back to Haven. :D

    « An Oasis »

We had a great first impression of the Haven. Warmly greeted by the front reception, provided with drinks and shown to a very large well appointed room - with a nice free upgrade! Stepping out onto our balcony was breathtaking. The serenity of this place is just incredible, beautiful sheer limestone cliffs provide a dramatic background to the tranquil pool and lake beneath. The hotel was so tranquil in fact we almost felt as if we were the only people staying there... Which actually, as it turned out was almost the case! We shared this enormous paradise with 3 other families (that we saw) quite a treat - if a little spooky! The pool was luxurious and we spent a great deal of time in the spa chairs! As another review stated the pool staff are rather strict so be on your best behaviour!! The restaurant was quite nice, and the food was of a good quality. We had a nice few evenings with a few beers listening to the live band as the sun went down - not a bad finish to the day at all! The haven is in a great location as well, Ipoh gets very hot during the day so being 5 minutes out of town allows you to cool off a little while being close enough that you don't feel disconnected from the city. Shuttle services can be arranged easily from reception and our only (very small) gripe was never ever understood the price of cabs / shuttles. The prices varied so much even when booking from reception. Tours from the hotel seemed quite expensive as well. We ended up making friends with a cab driver who took us round to all the sights for a fraction of the price. We liked this arrangement as we didn't have to wait for anyone and could just leave or stay when we wanted. One piece of advice however, don't go to the Cameron highlands on the weekend, the traffic is ridiculous and you can end up getting caught for hours! All in all we had a great stay, a beautiful hotel in a quirky little city!

« Worth stay in Tambun »

I stayed at apartment (3 bedrooms and 3 bath rooms) for 2 nights. The view from the balcony was amazing with the mountain and pool view. If you are a person who like to rilex, this is the place you have to go. The foods were good and the staffs very nice and friendly. The place is very secure since you have to use your access card if you want to go out to town or somewhere else.

Overall it was a good experience. Be better if your cafetaria has more variety of food and cocktails served as well especially for people like us who dont want to go out of the hotel for food. Your pool is awesome i must say, and the landscaping is also very beautiful.

    « Excellent Resort »

We stayed 2 nights at the Haven. Beautiful resort surrounded by nature. The suites are clean spacious and airy. The balcony is amazingly huge with garden chairs to sit down to enjoy the scenery and tranquillity of the resort. Really nice getaway weekend.

« A hidden resort surrounded naturals within the city »

Value for money. The only thing is there is no convenient store , so prepare those drinks/snacks etc. a huge fridge to store your drinks. Some foods that can heat up by microwave just in case. There are Chinese and Western restaurants there, food are good. The nearest hypermarket is Giant (1.5km) and hawker stalls , restaurants , shoplots can be found in Bercham within 1-3km

    « It doesn't worth the money »

Nothing was as we expected. Low average of apartment and restaurant, breakfast very very poor. Location and pool nice but nothing more than this. They even tried to make us pay a surcharge becouse it was weekend...of course we didn't!

    « Wonderful stay »

A wondeful and warm welcome by local security and this made us feel this hotel so special and gave us the home feeling..this followed by receptionist and their guidance to us in upgrading our accomodation package as we performed some very last minute changes..however they managed to settle it down very efficiently..and the whole environment was very much pleasant with their cleanliness and comforting surrounding as our room is facing towards limestone caves..overall services and facilities are at their best level..luxury stay middle of the nature.

Great holiday retreat for couples and families. FANTASTIC service from everyone in the resort. The restaurant staff, Jony, Zasan, and Amin, under the watchful eye of Miguel making your dining experience 5 stars and beyond. They take great care and pride in their guests. Truly an amazing team here. Room service is good, front reception staff are also fantastic making sure you get what you asked for. Will be returning again! Thank you!

« MUST STAY HOTEL IN IPHO »

We stayed at this hotel during Easter holidays. The view from our room is AMAZING (you have to chose "Lake side room")! It was a condo-type 3 bed 3 bath spacious room. Food is also good. You don't need to go somewhere else to eat. The hotel restaurant is the best restaurant in Ipoh (moreover it's reasonable). We should stay longer.

« Nice Hotel & It's Built Side by Side with the Nature. »

This Hotel is good and very suitable especially for family short travel (I got upgraded from 2 rooms to 3 rooms family suite). I brought few of my family members to stay at this hotel for one night just to have a short escape from the city's stressful life. We did enjoy very much and embraced by the natural as the swimming pool is attaching with a Lake and surrounded by green hills. And of course, staffs are friendly and helpful. There is a theme park nearby called "The Lost world Tambun". I definitely will bring my kid there next trip when I plan a longer stay over here.

« The Best Ipoh Chicken in Ipoh »

I had some guests at the Cuisines Restaurant at the Hotel's Club House and the food was unbelievably delicious. The beef steak was the best we have had for a long time. As for the chicken rice it was beyond expectation and I told everyone I would not step foot into any of the famous chicken rice places in Ipoh town anymore. A few nights earlier we went to eat at one of the chicken rice shops. Parking was hard and it put me off we had to sit on rickety tables on the street in a not so pleasant setting and the scent and sight of dirty drains put me off. In contrast it was worth the extra few rinnggits i had to pay to dine in the salubrious setting of the 5- star Cuisines. I recommend anyone who wants a 5- star chicken rice experience to give the Haven's Cuisines a try. You will not mind paying the few extra ringgits to dine in a clean, quiet and classy place. I will never go to the Ipoh town for Chicken rice ever again.

« Very expensive but not up to my expectation »

Stayed one night and chosen this place mainly for the swimming pool facilities for the children. The view of the lake and the mountain are nice however i feel that it is not worth the money paid for the stay. I have chosen the 2 bedroom apartment however it actually has 3 rooms which is good for my family of 6 but all the rooms are very small. I have paid for extra bed since the room has no king size bed that my small child can comfortably share with me. Therefore the extra bed in the master bedroom has made the room even narrower.

    « The Heaven »

The Haven Ipoh really has a feel like heaven with nice mountain and pool view. Is a good for city people for relaxing and release tension. The room is clean and comfort for family stay. Worth for money paid for nice resort.

    « Not bad for a getaway »

It's Def a place to get away from work or the city life. It felt just like home but yet the stay was comfortable although it was a different bed. The kids loved the place and didn't want to leave. Swimming pool had a warm temperature which I loved.

    4
« Beautiful scenery and children friendly place »

The lake view is beautiful, especially so at night with the lighting. My kids loved the pool and the playgrounds (outdoor and indoor). A children friendly place indeed. Remote controls for air cons should be checked from time to time to ensure functionality. A nice place for relaxation.

    « It's Haven-ly! »

Desperate for a retreat, my friend and I decided to flew into Ipoh last weekend for a short getaway! I am glad we made the decision to do that because Haven was so beautiful, I wish I never had to leave the place! Right at our balcony was the breath-taking scenery of Haven's landscape - the "iconic" rock, the trees, and the lake - it kind of reminded me of Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. Rooms were spacious, and clean. We love how much it feels like home; we didn't leave the room unless we had to go for meals! We did a day trip to Ipoh downtown and remained in the hotel for the rest of the days. Make sure you're ready to stuff yourself silly at Ipoh Town! Transportation can be arranged in the hotel at ~S$10. It takes about 20 minutes. Will be back, Haven!

« Superb pool and surrounds »

Extremely helpful and polite staff throughout. Poolside area is super. However rooms facing front get full brunt of call to prayer at first light and dusk. Very noisy. .. Food is ok but bland and limited choice. Had nice little trio singing at dinner. You cannot sit inside and have wine in the air conditioning so if you want a drink you have to brave the humidity.

    « Hotel w a Gorgeous Limestone View »

Came here for a 2D/1N visit for my high school retreat. Ipoh being only 2 hours away from KL is a good retreat place for city dweller. The condominium was very spacious and had a modern architecture. Good sleeping experience as they used King Koil mattresses. The only thing is the room is a bit small, esp when u have a lil kid. If u have a choice, take the unit at 19th floor and above because the layout is more spacious. One more minus point is we got the unit facing a construction/ mining site. The employees are 90% foreigners , and all of them are really friendly. They are generous w smiles and ever willing to help. The highlight of this resort have to be the Gorgeous limestone view w the adjacent infinity pool. It gives a very serene feeling. Go to the pool at sunset for the best view. In the morning, take the jogging trail and enjoy the coolness of the place. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is the food is utterly rubbish!! They have make us all excited w posters saying Cuisine is a delicious place to eat. Scramble eggs was tasteless, sausages were hard and the list continue. Do AVOID eating here as Ipoh offers a lot of delicious place to eat.

« Ipoh Getaway at the Haven »

Good drive from SG to Ipoh. About 1 hr delay at the 2nd Link checkpoints but other than that, it was a good drive on the NS highway. There were pockets of traffic here and there. There was a heatwave going on so weather was hot but perfect for road-trip The Haven was a welcoming sight. Nice view of the lake and surrounding hills. There's also an infinity pool. Environment was nice, secure and comfortable. Only downside was the Haven was about 10-15 mins drive to the usual makan place. There are ready bucket list of good Ipoh eats to check so don't miss it. Was hoping to check out the whitewater, caving and hot spring. Hot spring was out of the question due to the weather and Gua Tempurong was closed due to repairs. We did the tubing and it was a fun experience for the kids! Worth a re-visit

« Peace and quite, just right for relaxing. »

I found this resort to be very quite and it provided us with the relaxing holiday we were looking for. At times we thought we had the whole resort to our selves just no one around except the man who was in charge of the pool towels. Despite the lack of guests we indulge our selves with pool side service provided by the fully staffed restaurant from 7.00am till 10.00pm. Vee Jay and his staff provided excellent service. The menu could of had more variety with more English and European choices and the breakfast buffet could have a better selection to include cereal and especially bacon. The resort provided a shuttle service into the city of Ipoh and the driver gave us a bit of tour before dropping us of at our destination and then he picked us up after 3 hours of shopping and site seeing this service was provided at a very reasonable price about 60 Malaysian. Security at the resort was full on.24 hours with two security gates and a security man at the front entrance to all buildings. Our two bedroom apartment only lacked a pool view and a washing machine. The iron provided was of poor quality and ironing was very difficult. We had a fantastic time at this resort and would return as we plan to travel to Ipoh on many more occasions and we look forward to returning to the Best Western Haven.

« The Haven Resort, Ipoh »

Stayed in the hotel on route from Macalister Hotel, Penang to KL with my 2 girl friends. Our unit on the 16th floor had the view of the lake and limestones which were awesome.. serene, peaceful and breathtaking beautiful especially at night. The food and services were impeccable and staff went the extra mile. Walking track around the lake brings nature close to home and it was great for our morning yoga :) Looking forward to going back for a longer stay esp after they complement nature with spa & beauty facilities.

« Peaceful and Amazing View »

We had a unit facing the limestone hills and lake. It's clean and comfortable. The view of nature is simply breathtaking. The pool is big and the view again, is amazing. There's also a children's pool with slide. It's a very relaxing walk around the lake, surrounded by fresh air and beautiful greenery. Hearing the birds chirping has a calming effect. It's not in the centre of Ipoh, but just a short drive away.

    « Nice little getaway »

It was a peaceful and enjoyable stay. I did wish for a spa to disappear to because my toddler son was having so much fun at the gorgeous pool and exploring the grounds with dad. Great place for a family getaway or a get together with friends. The restaurant had a nice selection of dishes that were of decent quality.

« Stunning hotel with an extraordinary services »

Stayed here for 3/4N with my wife. The hotel is located in pristine forest surrounded by limestone outcrops and a beautiful natural lake. This is unmistakably a dreamlike location. The air is so fresh and soothing with some dew in the early mornings. The rooms are very clean with quality linen. The services are excellent and service with a smile seems to be the hallmark of this hotel. The food at the restuarant was delicious without any MSG. The breakfast was quality. The eggs were from "kampong chicken" bred without any artificial feed. The nasi lemak, noodles and malaysian cakes were mouth watering. Will definitely return or if possible buy a lakeside residence since this facility is run as a condotel.

Foremost we felt so much in love with this resort, the beautiful scenic view of the mountains, infinite pool and lake. Secondly, I'll say all their staffs are well motivated as they're all very welcoming and with a helpful smile. It's a hidden treasure of Ipoh, a perfect family getaway.

I stayed here for two nights on a business trip. It is a "condohotel", partly hotel but mostly condominiums. Great rooms with all the facilities that you could require. Superb setting and a great place to relax and unwind after a busy day. The restaurant serves good food. It's a shame that if you want a glass of wine with your meal, you have to eat outside in the bar area

« Best Hotel and Great Service in Ipoh »

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the staff and owner of Haven especially Mr. Peter Chan, Ms. Amy Lau, Mr. Jean Baradei, and Sheridul of the Cuisines, for the exemplary service throughout our stay at the hotel. I want to congratulate you all for the success I have seen around the hotel 2 years after its pre-opening. Your staff are very hospitable and I was impressed by how quick they were able to provide us with our requests. I posted a photo of the hotel on my facebook account to show everyone the beauty of the resort. Being able to stay at The Haven is a one-of-a-kind experience and I'm proud that I had the opportunity to have once been a trainee there. Seeing the hotel's improvements made me want to come back again for vacation and staying for just a night isn't enough to savor the beauty of the amazing view, facilities, and rooms! I wish you all a continuous success.

    « Serene and relaxing »

My family and I had a relaxing short getaway at this beautiful resort, just 2 hour's drive away from KL. The scenery around the resort was beautiful, against the backdrop of the limestone cliffs and a big lake. You can take a walk or a jog or even cycle (there are bicycles for rent) around the lake and admire its plethora of tropical plants and trees. Swimming in the big infinity swimming pool was heavenly, especially at night when it was less crowded. The pool opens up till 10 pm at night. There were various points of massage jets in the pool and also a big jacuzzi tub with bubbling hot water for you to enjoy. The staff at Haven was very welcoming and attentive. We were also impressed with the security guard at the front entrance - Mr Thayalan, I think - who greeted us warmly and gave us a brief rundown of the resort when we arrived. The suites were excellent - very clean and spacious; complete with amenities like kitchenette and laundry room (to hang your wet clothing). Free wifi was also available (very good reception). Breakfast offered in the package was also good - there are also some nice eateries nearby within short driving distance : the Sam Poh Restaurant famous for their Chinese cuisine and Tammy's Kitchen, well-known for her quiches and pies. Starbucks and McD are also nearby if you craved for these! Ipoh town is about 20 minute's drive away An excellent place to unwind and relax. Hope to return one day.

« Good time at the haven »

the haven is located at the secluded part of tambun and provide loads of privacy if ur looking for a place where u can stretch ur legs and chill. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apmnt with sofabed. they turned down the sofabed into a comfortable single bed with proper beddings, pillows, etc. So dont worry abt having to bring your own beddings if you intend to stay in this type of unit. However, the sofabed room is pretty tight and wud be suitable for a single occupant, or 1 adult and a toddler. There's no way u can fit 2 adults comfortably! The unit was comfortable for our group of 5 and provides to die for scenery of the lake from our balcony. So beautiful, especially at night! We didnt eat at any of the restaurants at the hotel and went out searching for local food. No problem at all if you have a car with you since there are lots of local eateries and tomyam shops all over the place. The pool is really nice too but was packed with families since it was school hols. Breakfast was so-so. Selection was limited but sufficient. This hotel is suitable for group of families or friends wanting to have a big gathering. It is also suitable for families with young kids too. Just be careful of the balcony and you'll be fine. Services by hotel staff was impeccable, always smiley and courteous.

« The pictures and the description is very misleading - know what you will go for.. »

We stayed on a saturday night in Best Western in IPOH. From the description i.e. 5 star, hotel, resort, you expect something completely different. I have to admit that we enjoyed our one night stay at Best Western. However, you need to know what you will go for if you choose this place. in the description it needs to made clearer that this is Serviced apartments and not a hotel nor resort. So you cannot be in a holiday mood in this place. There is no lobby, no area to relax or sit around the pool. they are renting out apartments in a 3 block residence. Yes, although they only show the pictures of 1 block. There are actually 3 blocks. and you share the facility of the residence itself. What is true tough is the view and the pool. The infinity pool with jacuzzis is impressive and very relaxing. we had also dinner in the restaurant which was ok. Quiet nice with live music. Te breakfast buffet is very poor for Europeans and has more food for Asian taste. I recommend this place for a short weekend break but not for holidays. Even for that it is quite overpriced.

    « Truly a heavenly experience »

Staying at the Haven was truly a heavenly experience. From its lush greenery to scenic mountain views ...it was truly a breathtaking site to behold... If havens scenery did not impress you(choose its Lakeview), its impeccable hotel and waiting staff will do... Look out for one Miss Carmen Ng, who was such a delight to have . She was both professional and poised as she served as our waiting staff during breakfast, constantly recommending and serving the Havens top breakfast delights( their Danish pastries..yum) and print on our request to upgrade our room to a higher floor. Not to forget Mr Miguel , who was simply amazing as he welcomed patrons and made everyone feel simply at home. All in all we truly enjoyed our stay at the haven..

« Great pool and nice out of town location but not really a 5 star for service »

The staff and service at times was great and at other times was awful. We needed to ask for a fork to be brought up to the room and it took 2 goes and then I had to go down to the restaurant and take one to actually get one. Very poor service for a '5' star hotel. Honestly no idea how this got 5 stars when I had stayed in a 4 star (same scoring system) in Penang that was a lot better.

« A Great begining at The Haven »

It was our sudden decision for a quick getaway thus instead of the normal island or by the beach holiday. We were recommended to The Haven by a friend. The service apartments were to our satisfaction n it was definitely much much better after the upgrade to a bigger apartment . There is a great pool n gym. The hot water pool was a great blessing with bubble jet massage. The evening lake view as we relaxed and unwind at our balcony sipping coffee was something i always dreamt off We were made to feel totally at home with royalty treatment by Mr.Miguel de Jan Restaurant Manager. So totally impressed by his passion. He was highly energized n super motivated n attended to all our whims and fancies in whink of an eye. We met pretty Carmen Ng an intern who was such a darling n would recommend and happily bring us delights from the buffet line. It was almost like coming back home. She won us with her warmth patience n sweet smile. True hospitality is what we found in her. And we bumped into her at the frontdesk n she helped us upgrade to a better room too Its was a great stay with the family. A home away from home with true spirit of Malaysia where its all about love for food warmth hearthy laughters flashing beautiful smiles n great hospitality. We even chanced to met the owner who walked up to say hello during our supper. Tq to the Haven team especially to the Restaurant crew. Your buffet breakfast is great. But you may wanna work on ur western n middle eastern servings thou. A place u would definitely wanna look at..for a simple stay in unwind kinda holiday. Tq

    « The Haven Ipoh »

We stay two nights at The Haven. The place was Heavenly too. Our suite was right in the centre of the hotel with a full view of the swiiming pools, with a breath-taking view of the lake and limestone. The view was awesome with reflections for the greens and hills on the lake. At night, relaxing on the balcony to chat and watch the dinner functions acroos with music. Too bad the lighting was not that good. If they had installed colourful lightings, it would not be dark and would have brighten the surroundings and atmosphere.

    « Exceeded our expectations »

The great experience started with the warmest welcome at the guard house. Tayalan is truly exceptional... The Haven offers value; easy access from the expressway, breathtaking view, clean and spacious apartment, delicious and good variety of food, just 15min to downtown Ipoh and most inportantly, the service. Special mention to Sherdul at Cuisines. He is ever ready to serve, articulates well and leaves a good impression. Highlights: 1. Breakfast: nasi lemak is a must try 2. The pool is cleaned every morning. Many jacuzzi points with both hot and cold options 3. Nice jogging track to get close to the nature 4. Well equipped gym, badminton and squash court

    « 2 thumbs down ! »

Having read good reviews on Tripadvisor I booked here and expected much more ! Security at entrance is good and the building looks impressive. It could be an excellent hotel if only the service and apartment conditions were better. The shower felt old and unclean and the bathtub curtain had mould at the bottom. The main bathroom had 2 bath towels but no hand towels. The next day housekeeping left 1 bath towel and 2 hand towels. A hair band belonging to a previous guest was left behind in the other shower. If you arrive late at night and want to shower, you have to turn on the heating switch and wait an hour for the bath water to get hot. The bathtub drain was blocked and my child couldn't use the tub. There is a an entrance door to your apartment and a gate but the gate couldn't be locked as the lock was broken. We had arrived in the evening from another country, tired and hungry and my husband ordered a chicken dish from room service which was supposed to have vegetables and potatoes. A horrible looking meal with no potatoes and measly vegetables arrived which he returned without eating.Management later came up to apologise. The kitchen is large buy only includes a few plates, mugs, glasses and cutlery. There are no bowls, pots, pans or a toaster. There is a fridge, stove and microwave. I had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door but housekeeping still barged in without knocking and seeing me in my pyjamas, he quickly closed the door ! We had booked a 3 night stay but only stayed for 2. Check out took longer than expected as the printer wasn't working. The pools, however, are lovely but that is the only good thing about this hotel. Service here is of low quality and not worth staying here !

« Best Western PREMIER The Haven Ipoh, Ipoh, Malaysia »

The hotel is relatively new and clean. Very nice and private service apartment and beautiful garden. Wonderfully polite professional staff. Efficiency at check in is great compares to other hotels we stayed in Malaysia.

« Beautiful Environment & Great Food Served @ Cuisines »

Serene and beautiful environment, comfortable rooms, and one of the best Wat Tan Hor (cantonese style rice noodles in egg sauce) and Singapore Style Laksa I have ever had. Very friendly and helpful staff too. Had the privilege of being hosted for lunch by the owner and CEO himself, Mr Peter Chan. He is truly an inspirational and farsighted leader.

    « Great for Family »

During a family short trip stayed in a 3 bedrooms unit, even for 7 adults and 2 kids I still find it very spacious. Situated on the outskirts of Ipoh town, the environment is very quiet and relaxing. The only inconvenience is you must drive to town to have those famous Ipoh foods.

    « Great weekend getaway »

Our Second visit after a year. The condo hotel is Still in good condition and I must say Best western premier Ipoh offer the best value. The unit that we booked is clean and well equipped except for 2 issues ; faulty entertainment unit and blocked sink. But it was taken care by the staff after few hours. The pools is still inviting and the surrounding hills give you the cooling and serene feeling. But you must have a transport in order to enjoy the great Ipoh food. I hope that best western premier can be managed properly and we'll be back again , for sure.

    « Quiet, relaxing retreat. »

We were there for half a day and one night but the feelings we experienced were truly one of a kind. Have you ever been to a place that automatically turns your senses into 'relax' mode? The employees were friendly, quiet atmosphere, smell of the forest when walking along the trail, the view of the lake, children splashing in the 'seahorse' pool... Cheese cake and ice lemon tea at the coffee house... and I was greeted by friendly staff. I had a knowledgeable talk with a pleasant Carmen, a lovely young lady whom, sadly will be leaving somewhere at the end of Jan '16. We requested for the biggest room on the higgest floor and we were not dissappointed. 22nd floor with a view of the mountain and lake below. Our stay was 'too short' and hopefully plan a next 'longer' trip there. Andrew.

« The only Heaven I will keep on going back »

The view of the hotel and the service from all the staff were unbeatable. The warmest greeting from Grace Chan when we arrived at that moment made us feel so relaxing and comfortable. Most staff are extreme polite that we felt like they have known us for a long time. The lake, trees and mountains view from our room could only be described we were in Heaven. On top of that, the three-bedroom hotel apartment was ample and immaculately clean. Well displayed local flavour breakfast was very appetising especially the one by the pool. The gigantic sea horse shape like swimming pool made us not wanted to leave the pool.

« Oh my god... A real heaven »

We stayed in this lovely hotel last week for a few days, we loved it so much, so clean. the restaurant manager Miguel was so helpful. They had a very educated gardener call Chandler who showed us around and told us all about different plants. Thank you to all the staff.

    « Quiet getaway »

First point of contact is always vital and the security at the entrances wee friendly and specific and greeted us every time we can in and went out of the premises. The short circuit walk by the limestone hills is very pleasant and is best to take your time so that you can spot the birds and butterflies and read up on the signs describing the trees and plants. Breakfast spread is okay. However, we expected a wider range from a 5 star hotel. Things like yoghurt, different breads, etc. The half boiled eggs were a good touch. DVD player is not supplied nor available on request. So, bring your own if you wish to. Overall, a quiet getaway, as what we wanted.

    « Hotel apartment, rather »

We were 3 families and checked in 25 Dec and out 27 Dec. Haven has nice and suitable room sizes to fit families, with built in kitchen. (But no utensils are provided... can't cook basically). Pools are comfortable for both kids and adults alike and serve as good relaxation places. There's also playground and gym. There's a short trail opposite hotel and it's good for morning walk to enjoy the fresh air. But there's no other amenities (especially shopping) surrounding unless you drive out. Hotel personnel were excellent and helpful. Security guard gave an introduction when we arrived.... Nice gesture to let guests felt welcome. Hotel lift system broke down and needed security to grant access. This was weak security because verification was absent. Breakfast spread was normal and not fantastic. Outdoor activities are available but needed advance booking, please note and please check out.

« Brilliant Resort with enthusiastic staff. »

If you want somewhere lovely for your weekend family trip, this is it. Your family will love you. This place is quiet and is resort like. They have good food and the staff are nothing but helpful. The place can fill up quickly during holidays and long weekend so might be worth booking early. We had our Christmas dinner and the food was not too bad. Just ignore the bad mannered Malaysians who like to pile their food up with food just because it's a buffet.

« Nice Condo Hotel As Expected! »

Two night stay with my family. 1) Clean Room 2) Good viewing from my unit (13A Floor) balcony. Lakeside, nature forest, swimming pool and fresh air. Really cannot find this peaceful environment in the city hotel, even they are 5 stars hotel. 3) Good breakfast. Good manner of the restaurant Cuisens staff and duty manager. As I spotted on my day left, 26th December morning, One of the boy accidentally broke the cup on the serving table, but the manager on duty just very fast to said " It's ok, nothing , It's ok" as the boy also not yet responded to this matter. 4) Good room service. As i asked for 2 extra single blanket, my room door bell was ringing just right after 2 minutes. One More, The location is nearby Ipoh Soth Toll, It.s a very convenient for those who want to exit the PLUS highway. Unforgettable, will be back again.

« Nice hotel in lovely setting »

Four of us stayed 3 nights over Christmas and were very happy with the hotel. Staff were always very polite and very friendly. I had read some more negative comments about breakfast but I was positively surprised with the choice of dishes available. The facilities were good, the swimming pool complex particularly so. The hotel location by the lake was ideal, although as a suggestion I feel more benches around the lake path could be provided, where it would have been nice just to sit and relax taking in the view.

Located near Lost World of Tambun and sorrounded by limestones. The hotel has beautiful pool with hotspring in one of its pool, nice jogging track and most of all friendly and caring staff. We were well taken care off by the front desk staff Carmen and at the breakfast area, by Ruby and the F&B manager. The staff really made us feel at home and welcome.

trip to the Haven for our division retreat was superb. This place is exactly like a paradise in a haven. Thumbs up for Mr. Thava he have given a very positive first impression of the place. The staff in the Haven are warm, great personalities and very humble. My sincere gratitude and imprest towards the nature surrounding the Haven. Really suits the name given to the place 'the haven'.. working in tourism Malaysia, with a vast experience of travelling a lot of places this is the place you must visit in your life..

« Beautiful View but services need to improve »

The Security guard made good first impression when we drove in and stopped for registration. My friends and I had to agree we were impressed with the guard at the security gate so politely greeted us and gave a full description how to proceed to check in and parking our car. Our good impression stopped right at the doorstep. We realized there was a mixed up on our room reservation. The Manager of the resort took our reservation over the phone week before. Upon checked in,we were told that our unit and rates were not what was discussed on the phone previously ,worst still, our reservation was not confirmed by an email. I could not provide more details of the conversations and details of the bookings over the phone at that instance, since I've left my notes at home. When I got hold of my notes after we came home, indeed I am very certain the Manager has given a different set of information at the point of phone booking versus upon checking in.My phone reservation was for garden view, but I was told it's a city view (I will not opt for city view as all of us are from Ipoh) upon check in which I met with protest and the price given to us over the phone was wrong as well. Worst still, I mean, how could a chain like Best Western does not have a proper verification or confirmation email for bookings made over the phone? I was only provided a booking no. Not to spoilt our holiday and the fact that it's already almost 7pm, we decided to go ahead to check in and they have decided to upgrade our unit and late check out. The next day,our key card was not working, we could not let ourselves into the apartment thus we had to get down to the reception to report to them in both occasions ;after our breakfast and our afternoon swim. This happened twice! We understand from another guest they shared the same experience ; the family were trapped inside a lift till a hotel staff came to their rescue!

    « Haven truly Heaven »

Was invited to join the sales team for their annual getaway and it was truly an excellent decision to go along with them. Upon entering the resort, we were greeted at the security checkpoint. Mr Thayalan gave us a surprisingly warm and unforgettable greeting which left myself and my colls in awe. As we were travelling in a few cars, and we were the 4th to reach, we were actually excited and looking forward to speaking to Mr Thayalan. The few cars before us had told us to look out for Mr Thayalan and now I understood why. Boy was I not disappointed. This is truly how a resort should function. #KudosMrThayalan The resort itself was spectacular. View was awesome. Air was fresh. Pool was #OhmyGosh #Heavenly #CantWaitToSwim. I think that sums up everything. The unit and its rooms were really awesomely cleanly clean and given the fact that I am a rather picky person, it passed me. You can try it for yourself *smiles in confidence* The breakfast was really nice but only not that much to choose from. However, the taste overruled less choices... which was still great. Swimming in the pool was a remarkable experience. It was as though we were part of the lake and the view was even nicer at night. Would definitely return and recommend anyone going to Ipoh to put a night or two here. Well done #TheHaven and keep it up.

« Hidden gem in Ipoh »

This year, our annual team building was organized in Ipoh and we put up at The Haven. The Haven is located at a secluded area away from the bustling town of Ipoh, but easily accessible by car. One notable attraction close to The Haven is Lost World of Tambun which is a water theme park. The rooms in The Haven are sold in suit types which come in several options: 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and even 2+1. The unit which I stayed in was sparkling clean and had the basic amenities including a washing machine! From our unit, we could see the beautiful limestone hills of Ipoh surrounding the area. I fell in love with the infinity pool which also came with Jacuzzi. I will recommend this to people traveling in groups as the suit in The Haven will definitely be more than comfortable. Transportation could be a hassle if you do not own one - but by the time you arrive at The Haven you would probably think twice of going out until you need to fulfill the cravings for delicious Ipoh food!

    « Good Family Outing??Rest and Relax »

We booked for 2 nights stay with family room(4 adult + 3 children). Considering other Malaysia hotels, I would consider this as quite new hotel. Interior and room deco are very neat and clean. The staffs provide a very good service, and security officers in the hotel area are pretty strict. As such, i feel well protected and sense of security. We were given 13A floors, balcony view is superb, beautiful lake and mountain. Couldn't ask for more, this is the best view i ever stay in Ipoh. Morning Breakfast serve basic local foods + fare bit of international food. Pool side is huge, come with hot spa pool. Overall experience is excellent and would consider to go back again.

Excellence place for a city gate away. Peaceful n quite for a total relaxation. The apartment is big and clean. It has all the facilities. Fully equipped kitchen. Big balcony which faces the lime stone mountain view. Away from the pool which is good not too noisy. We will definitely be back again.

    « Caring and Friendly »

The hotel takes the form of apartments with varying number of rooms and hence calls itself a Condotel. The staff are all very professional and are knowledgeable, caring and courteous. Our apartment was on a high floor with excellent view towards the hill and over the excellent swimming pool. The restaurant facility is good quality but limited to "coffee shop" style catering. I understand that a full restaurant is planned.

« One of the best resort I've been to! Lovely! »

I brought my entire family (6 adults 2 kids) and stayed in this resort, our experience has been SUPERB! The entire 3 generations loved it! Not because they have one of the best swimming pool and the surrounding walking/jogging track facing the natural environment (of lakes and mountains) - but because of its hospitality! Right from the entrance Guard House, the well-trained Guard already ensured that you are checking into one of the luxurious resort, then come the friendly check-in counter (Lai Kuan, lovely), then the ENTIRE STAFF Team of the Cuisines Restaurant - from the manager to the captain to the lovely waitress (I can't remember the name of this very cute fair short-hair lady who's just an intern but she has done almost perfect job in ensuring that our dinner and breakfast are well taken care of! She even helped us to take our family photo - but following us out to the pool side to ensure we got the perfect light and angle! What a service!) Well, the only shortfall is this resort does not have a gym/sauna/steam room - and the restaurants are not allowed to sell wines (which is quite dissapointed to us as we would love to have wines for dinner) - But their food (either a-la-carte dinner or buffet breakfast) are superbly Good and Tasty! Good Job Chef! Overall, we had very beautiful memories staying in this resort!

    « What a welcome!! »

We turned off the main road to the first security gate - we were welcomed by the guards & requested to sign in. As we were signing in, we were asked if it was our first time, to which we said "Yes". The guards then welcomed us again with another smile, then proceeded to tell us about the facilities available - beautiful swimming pool, gym etc. We were then waved on, and we got a similar welcome at the second security gate. At check-in, we were welcomed with a nice cold drink, & Dinesh was just as friendly & helpful. The bellboy Hafez who helped us with our luggage explained the room facilities to us, and 2 housekeeping staff who came to make up the 3rd bed were also very friendly, as were the guards looking after our apartment block. We felt like we were being welcomed into the home of an old friend! At breakfast the next day, we were warmly welcomed to our tables by Sharnul who proceeded to ask & serve us what we wanted to drink, even though the drinks were self-service. He then highly recommended the nasi lemak, saying it was very good, with no MSG. When I asked if they had yoghurt as it was not on display, he went to the kitchen to get me a bowl. Usually, you'd expect the waiter to say "Sorry, don't have yoghurt" if the item was not displayed. Almas who was manning the egg station has such a nice bright smile as he takes your orders for eggs. Even the gardener & maintenance staff smiled & greeted us. So, while the apartment was cosy and very clean, we were extremely impressed by the attitude of every single staff we came into contact with. Almost all of them were foreigners (I think they were from Bangladesh) & took such great pride in everything they did. They all seemed happy doing their work. The management must be congratulated for the excellent training, and we hope that the staff are acknowledged & appreciated for the big part that they play in making the Best Western Premier in The Haven, Ipoh probably one of the best we've ever experienced in terms of service anywhere in the world!!

    « Quite a haven »

We rented 2 apartments for a family get-together which included our 92-year-old father with limited mobility. Despite the tower blocks, access is easy and a wheelchair was provided without fuss. The staff were incredibly helpful, from those at the gate house through to reception, housekeeping and the restaurant. Full marks to Shardneul, who was attentive and helpful over breakfast. We were impressed at how well the buildings and facilities blended with the natural habitat. The apartments themselves were spacious, clean and well maintained. A restful break.

the room with the sofa bed was quite dusty. the master bedroom was clean though. i slept in the guest bedroom which have a queen size bed. that guest room & the master bedroom sensor was making 'clicking' sound the entire night. it was quite unpleasant. we have problem with the one of the swipe card as it was un-usable.

« Best of Best Western Premier The Haven Ipoh »

We visited from 14th to 16th Nov 2015. Upon checking in, we were given a free upgrade to a 2-1/2 Room unit which was bigger and more spacious. The place is beautiful and the surrounding is quiet and peaceful. The most important things are the staff are very helpful and friendly.Special Thanks to the following Staff: 1) The main driveway Security personnel(an Indian nation) is very polite and knowledgable, he will tell you everything regarding the resort while taking down your particular before your entry. 2) Ms Grace from Poolside Cuisines was very helpful, she offers to take photos for you and your family while you are having your Breakfast. 3) Ms Lai Kuan from the Reception provides extra services by allowing you to visit their higher floor for a better scenic view from your request. 4) Mr Ram, the Security, accompanied you up to the floor with no obligation. 5) And all other Staff from Best Westen Premier The Haven, have very polite and friendly encounter. Well Done, The Haven, keep it up.

My experience at Best Western is memorable one primarily because of the location, cleanliness and I would say I experience the best hospitality throughout my experience. You may want to visit this place if you want to experience the hospitality but again there are lot more to experience especially if you are the type who looking forward to escape from concrete jungle The staffs are very friendly and welcoming especially Miguel's team who takes care of Cuisine Restaurant. He will make you feel like king/queen when you are at Cuisine. Overall you need to visit here if you want to experience what I have just mention above.

« Great Resort - Peaceful and Classy »

We booked 2 apartments - 2+1 lakeside suite. The first one had 3 full bedrooms (1 King size bed, 1 queen size bed and the other was a single bed), the 2nd one was the same with exception the 3rd bedroom was a sofabed. Each apartment was very clean and classy - very nicely maintain with great deco and functional. It fit 8 adults comfortably. The view of the lake and pool was great. The pool were excellent - the view connecting to the lake was beautiful. It was huge that everyone has their space. This is the only resort which I see really enforcing the proper swimming attire rule. Guest were ask to leave the pool if you are not in proper attire..Well Done! There was a huge crowd during breakfast as such be prepare to wait in line if you are late. The waiter and servers there were very polite and fast to turn around tables. Excellent Service!

My husband and our 2 small sons had a great time! Great space, fantastic views, relaxing atmosphere and the best service we've had in all of Malaysia! A guard even followed our 3yr old near the pool when he wondered off alone! Wow! Thank you!!!

    « Wasn't allowed in as outsiders »

Drove all the way there from town one evening to visit this award winning resort and to have dinner at the hotel. However, we were quite politely turned away by the foreign-looking guards who told us that only resident owners and hotel guests were allowed to dine there. So we left disappointed. The next evening, we managed to visit the Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat nearby after having earlier called to make a dinner reservation at their Pomelo restaurant. Perhaps The Haven has a similar policy but the guards didn't tell us so.

« ' A QUIET RETREAT IN SPECTACULAR HAVEN '- By Mr SCM & Shirley Koh »

We stayed in the 2+1 Lakeview Suite from 20/10 to 22/10/2015 of the center of the tower block. We were truly impressed with the surrounding landscape and the development of the condo with its modern architectural design within the limestone hills and natural lake. The suite offers panoramic views of nature and its surrounding. As we checked into Suite No. B-111 ,needless to say the interior design is equally impressive as the exterior. It is spacious, clean and well maintained. The interior concept is suitable for family vacations and the rates are affordable. The Cuisine(poolside bar & rest.) served healthy meals without the additional flavour of MSG with its emphasis on its natural ingredients and quality .The staff (Ms Grace,Ms Carmen and foreigner Mr Sundril) are extremely friendly, interactive, committed employees and their service is excellent.Your security guard at the main entrance of the guardhouse has good PR skills with brief introduction of the Haven Resort and is equally impressive. The limousine Chinese driver engaged on a part time basis is skilful in his driving with emphasis on the safety of the vehicle and comfort of the guests as his utmost priority. However, the co.could comtemplate of hiring additional drivers by paying higher wages as a long term solution in order to maintain the standard in service for the guests. We were certainly come back to stay in the resort in our forthcoming travel plan.Overall rating : 9.5

« Best Kept Resort Secret in Ipoh »

I was amazed by the beautiful natural settings of the Haven Ipoh. On my personal familiarisation trip to the Resort this year, i discovered that it was a quiet, natural and an ideal getaway for people from the city of Kuala Lumpur. The beautiful limestone caves and lush green forests along the fringes of the resort truly beckons the visitor's arrival. The food at the restaurant was well served with various dishes and choices especially during breakfast.

    « Definitely a great stay...... »

A great place for a huge group (5 & 6) of People to stay. A feeling like you own the service apartment + the great evening Lake view. Although the price is a bit high but it is a great value added at you can swim in the open air pool. The improvement needed on their Breakfast. Variety & the taste was not that good as expectation. Other then this.... the environment & the park is really good for revisit.

    3
    « Expected more »

The unit, simple, clean and practical. The environment is amazing, the view and the pool was great. Almost every security guards you meet are friendly and helpful. Breakfast spread is too simple and not many varieties, for the steep rate, you would expect a 5 stars hotel will provide 5 stars breakfast buffet. Front desk staffs tried to be friendly and helpful most of the time but lack of sincere efforts.

I like the environment and facilities- well maintained; i like the room and unit- clean, organized, homely, good air space; except the cafe site- very unorganized due to over flooded with people with shortcoming include manpower, utensils and etc. Nevertheless, don't expect yourself with great services during peak holiday, definitely, it's not fair to them; but, if you expected a place for relax, relax and enjoy time, definitely this is a place with good value with minimum services requirements.

« Excellent environment but very very poor service and coordination »

Had our company's team building event over there, people are "wow" at the room, the garden, the swimming pool, but when comes to the dinner, the services are very very poor, food are not enough for a table of 10 people, vegetarians are only served for like 3 dishes?? Over priced for the dinner. Please improve your service first before telling other you are a 5 star hotel!

    « Relaxing »

Booked the suite on the second highest floor & the view was spectacular. Beautiful & serene landscape, such a peaceful & relaxing place if you want to get away from it all for a few day. Have amenities of everything from home if you are incline to do some light cooking. The road leading to the place can be misleading initially but otherwise no worries.

    « Better than expectation »

Had a great time at The Haven Ipoh for a short vacation with family. We booked a 2+1 lake view unit for 3 adults and a child and we are very happy with the spacious and the simple but tastefully decorated interior. The property is surrounded by stunning natural surrounding, a serene lake and limestone cliff as backdrop. The pool, the jogging track around the lake and the garden are beautifully place around the property. I am very impressed with the team here, from the security, housekeeping to the restaurant team. Everyone is so friendly, attentive and hard working. Been to many hotels in Malaysia and the team at The Haven is probably one of the best. Carmen and Miguel at the restaurant deserved a special mention for their great service! The Haven Ipoh can be a bit far from city centre but the beautiful surrounding and the friendly staffs more than make up for it!

« Quiet & relaxing stay in Ipoh »

The Haven Ipoh located at a quiet & peaceful place in Tambun. The greenery environment gave us totally peace of mind. We were impressed by the hospitality of the staffs, the warm greetings by the guard, the friendly introduction given by the hotel staffs, the fast action from the restaurant waiter, we felt great with their service, thumbs up to all the staffs! The room is excellent; WiFi signal is strong & stable, very spacious, clean & comfortable. Love the contemporary interior design of the room with modern furniture. The surroundings were eco friendly, the plants are well take care, we enjoyed the fresh air too. The swimming pool with Jacuzzi is another adding point for the hotel. This is a great place to escape from the hectic city life, and it is also a quite & peaceful stay for both couples & family. An important note to the travelers who like the nice food & shopping in Ipoh town, the hotel is located a bit far from the city center, more than 10km distance.

    « This is a hotel apartment »

For a 5 star rated hotel hotel in Ipoh , i have to say that it didnt quite meet my expectations The 1st bad feeling was when we got our welcome drink . It has no identity and too simple with no name whatsoever. 2nd , after checking in we realised that this is residence apartment converted to a hotel apartment . Bear in mind that BW does fully own the place , there are full time residents ie not on holiday mood! 3rd , for our breakfast next day .It is just too simple and lack of identity . Fruit juice is too watery and other food just being pretty standard 4th , the interior part of the room could have been simply upgraded to be kids safe such fixing tv on wall and the side table next to the wall ( with glass on top ).

    « A luxurious condotel for families »

I had a short one night stay with my families. The room was facing the lake while the windows had a great view of the Haven Rock. First class service with courteous staffs and no tipping culture. Very well greeted and fast with the arrival. Front desk staff Miss Carmen Ng very friendly and efficient done with check in. Everything was excellent. The service is EXCELLENT. How many hotels have you been to where the staff is really friendly , a separate swimming pool that is SUPERB , waiter service breakfast in the Cuisine Restaurant. Best holiday yet. And the best hotel in Ipoh. Overall, we have a fantastic holiday. Thank you

The resort is one of the best one resorts which I have stayed. with beautiful spacious and luxurious rooms and excellent services. It is a blend of both natural echo-friendly landscapes and lake with modern amenities like gym and swimming pool. The staffs are really friendly and helpful. We stayed 2 nights in this resort and will recommend others too..

    « Eco friendly resort »

Was here on a business trip in the middle of October. Apartments come in 2 or 3 room units. Stayed in a 2 room unit that had a queen bed in each room. Apartment was approximately 1100ft2. It came equipped with a refrigerator, electric kettle, dining table that seats 4, sliding doors that lead to a small balcony, electronic safe and other amenities that you would come to expect in an accommodation of this class. The resort pride themselves on being eco friendly and are surrounded in lush greenery. Those who are contemplating staying here would be happy to know this resort is on a 20 acre site next to some nice looking limestone caves. At night the small lake makes a lovely backdrop for night time photography. There is a nice infinity swimming pool and a gym but I didn't use them as I was here on business. Breakfast at Cuisines (in-house cafe) could certainly be improved as I was expecting more. However, considering I was here on business this was acceptable. Dined in on one of our two nights here and I feel the uninspiring food is of similar quality to the breakfast. I look forward to an improved spread, variety and quality in my next visit.

« Hidden haven in Ipoh »

We visited recently for company team-building and stayed one night. Surroundings was surprisingly serene with nice lake, natural landscaping and limestone cliffs offering spectacular views and really nice big swimming pool. Originally built as luxury residential condominiums, each unit has been converted to guest suites - our 2 bedroom was on the smaller side (one room barely had space to walk to window since blocked by bed), whereas the 3 bedroom was a big contrast - much bigger and more spacious. Due to its hidden location (near to reclusive Banjaran Hotsprings Resort) and relatively low occupancy, service at restaurant was attentive and credit goes to the servers and restaurant staff. Some food items like Ipoh chicken rice was not bad, although not quite living up to to brazen claim of "best in Ipoh" poster we saw in their lifts. One sore point was defective key cards that kept failing at the lifts so the guards had to constantly tap us through just so that we could reach our floor. If you are looking for a quiet, natural getaway in nice surroundings without too high expectation of service delivery, this might be worth a visit. Do note though that Ipoh's best food is still a 25min drive away in city centre.

« Amazing stay, stunning location. WOW! »

I was seriously impressed by the beauty of this place. I expect a lot of beautiful write-ups in the near future as the place deserves it. I have been at many great hotels, but never was I so amazing by how stunning the views are.

    « A Home Away From Home »

We used this place as a base whilst in Ipoh. My husband hailed from Ipoh. I remember this place as a remote and undeveloped place, many years ago. It was good to come back to Ipoh to find a place like Haven, and to spend a few days to unwind. A gem which offers a good setting for a well earned holiday/break. We were given an apartment that ticks all the boxes. Clean and new furnished apartment. I am not sure if it stays as immaculate after a few years. I hope so. The only downside was, the lift would not operate in a way you could go up a certain floor to visit friends. I understand the security benefit it offered with this in mind. However It can be a problem to meet up or visit friends on the same block. Nature is plentiful, pool is magnificent size. There was an occasion plasters were visible on the water/surface. I love the gym, wide and spacious. It has a nice view overlooking the pool and the restaurant. Service at the restaurant was great. Always easy to talk to Miguel regarding any issues we may have with food ordered or service. Great stay, would love to return again in the near future.
