Best Western Greater London Hotel

I've had the same experience as other reviewers. Terrible customer service. Cancelling my room to take advantage of higher rates as it's the Kings Coronation weekend. Several months ago I made a booking for 2 nights on the 5th May this year. Suddenly this week I received an email asking to update my payment details. At 02:32am, I was given 6 hours to update my details (no idea why, they had not changed), or they would cancel my booking. Despite this short notice, I updated by card details within 6 hours (08:06) the same day. A few hours later I received an email saying my booking was cancelled. I am not receiving any email responses from this Greater London Hotel. I have spoken to them several times on the phone, but they will not discuss the details of the cancellation, and say I must communicate via email. I have asked to speak to a manager, but there is "not one available". They are not responding to my emails Firstly, the email confirming my stay (from Best western) says the pre authorisation is not required until the day of arrival. Secondly, my correct card details were passed within within 6 hours of being requested. I have contacted my bank, and no attempt has been made on this card. Never heard of such shocking customer service. Wish I'd have booked a Premier Inn as I usually do. Avoid at all costs!

Booked in August last year 2 rooms for an 8 night stay in 30 days time. Now I received a notification from booking.com that the property canceled my booking because of an invalid card. This can't be true, as they had already preauthorized my card and I have funds in the card. Tried calling at the hotel and the receptionist on duty said that they don't deal with this situation and she recommended sending an email. I have sent 2 emails and no answer whatsoever. I called again and ask them to pass me to the reservation department but she said it was not possible cause there was no one, asked to speak to the manager Stefan, the same person that answers the reviews on this page but "he's not here at the moment". This is very unprofessional and now we need to find another alternative in London at expensive price cause it is only 30 days to go and it's the Easter period. Do not book here. It's a scam, fraud, and corruption!!!.

It was a real delight to be in that hotel. We normally go there since this is close to our London Office, I have to admit they have made some changes inside and I cannot thank the staff enough for their professionalism, their proactivity and their sense of purpose. I can only recommend them wholeheartedly.

Everything was more than expected. Great staff, good location, comfortable beds. and lovely breakfast. Bars, restaurants and shops just around. Wold highly recommend for people coming for work and leisure.

The place was amazing with courteous staff. Room was fresh and nice, I had enjoyed the breakfast time as it was really good. Internet service was high quality as I used it for my work project during my stay. Highly recommend.

Very clean and fresh hotel. The breakfast was decent. Location is very good, close to station and lots of restaurants close by. It is a good hotel for business or leisure on budget. The staff was nice as well.

We have stayed before with Best Western and this was one of the best our stay with this this brand. We have enjoyed our breakfast, room was nice smelling and fresh, check in was quick and professional. All staff was helpful and nice.

Good location, it is very close to train station in Ilford. Room was clean and nice, bath spotless, bed was very comfy. I haven't selected breakfast when I booked but I paid at the hotel and it was very nice, good food selection. Staff was very polite and helpful.

We took 3 rooms for 7 people . ie one was triple room . The check-in was smooth . The rooms are well maintained but small. The free continental breakfast provided is the same from monday to friday with some additions on saturday and sunday . The property is near to Ilford metro and bus station, so conveyance to tourist places were easy There are lot of restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner . Overall nice 7 days at BW Greater London @ Ilford

The room was so small that you couldn't even stand to get ready. Such an unpleasant stale smell. Bed is so hard and the towels. Agoda app never replied back to my concerns. Was expecting better with Best Western standards. Very unpleasant and sad experience. It's very out dated.

When I went for the check-in , they redirected to other hotel for some reason , but I was okay with that as it was not far. The front desk team tried to make me feel comfortable with everything. Mani was exceptional and gave me a complimentary breakfast for moving me to different hotel. Breakfast was freshly made. Overall staff service was very professional. Rooms were well maintained with lots of new towels and good mattress. Good work by the house keeping and the management.

I have stayed at this hotel for few days and everything was amazing. Professional staff members assisted me for my entire stay. Breakfast was very nice, the room was bright, bed comfortable, bath was spotless. Thank you team !

Although my app confirmed check-in at 12 pm, the room was not ready. In the internet, I found 2 pm. Nevertheless, Sravanthi made everything possible to find a room ready as early and possible and offered a coffee. Thank you for the professional service. The rooms are less spacious than I used to get with BW, the furniture are rather old. I can recommend the breakfast. The location close to Ilford Station is perfect. The noise from the street was hardly recognised.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Excellent customer service, the room was very comfortable with a clean bath, linen was fresh. Breakfast was delicious served by really nice ladies. Receptionist helped to organise a parking for my car. Thank you, everything was superb!

This place is the ideal hote / accommodation l for a big family as us. We have been very warmed welcomed and satisfied with their facilities and services during whole our stay. If you have a family and you need to stay in East London this place is the best for it.

Absolutely Amazing stay at the BW Greater London Hotel in August 2022. My accommodation was wonderfull with a lot of good things such as: breakfast, cleanness, people and their customer service, access to public transport.

I have stayed 3 days and everything was lovely. Hotel is located close to shops, restaurants and train station. Clean, fresh and quiet room , breakfast was amazing. Nice and helpful staff. Definitely will visit again.

After spending three weeks at this hotel you couldn't ask for a better welcoming . I do not live locally and spent my three weeks at this hotel to attend a course. The staff are very attentive, friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble Although I didn't have breakfast there it looked amazing and fresh every morning and the cooked breakfast one of my colleagues had looked amazing and totally recommend it. Room was always cleaned on daily basis, fresh towels & tea n coffee. Room had a hairdryer which was added bonus .Although Ilford isnt the best area hotel was excellent and manned 24/7 very safe and secure. Conference room was excellent size and great tea & coffee supplied or a latte / cappincino at very good price. Would definitely stay their again if I need to return to London. Thank you guys and girls, fabulous .

Was staying one night in London. Have not used this hotel before but could use the Elizabeth Line to easily get to and from Liverpool Street (Ilfod station a few minutes walk away). Nothing wrong with the room but fairly basic, in line with pricing. I'm a Diamond member of Best Western and was disappointed with the great fuss make on checking in for proof of identity requirements. Not the way to treat frequent BW guests.

We arrived and had to run in to grab a parking permit, the ‘car park' was on a different road and didn't seem overly safe. Went back in once parked and were told we needed a £50 security deposit per room, to then be told we weren't staying in that hotel as there was a maintenance issue in both of the rooms we had booked so they put us in a random hotel around the corner. When we got into the room there was a door for a window and the door didn't lock and there was no key so it was not secure, when we asked if we could have a key to lock it we were told there wasn't a key and it's never been an issue but not to worry because there was cctv. There was a dried contact lens on the bathroom floor and the shower was broken in one of the rooms. Overall a very bad experience!

We stayed at the Best Western in ilford whilst visiting the abba voyage concert in Stratford, very hand location just 9 mins on the Elizabeth line from Stratford then one stop on the DLR takes you straight to the arena, the welcome we received from I'm guessing the manager and his lovely colleague was second to none, so friendly and helpful, rooms though a little basic were ideal with your flat screen TV shower and tea/coffee facilities, there was a lift also, the open breakfast room was lovely as was the service and the breakfast itself, plenty of shops bars restaurants nearby with the rail station just minutes walk away, as I mentioned the staff just couldn't do enough for you We shall definitely stay here again especially if or when we return for another abba show Regards David Hanson, 2nd July 2022 Newtown, Powys, Mid Wales

3 nights in this hotel in very hot June weather with no AC in small room but a fan from staff helped a little. Ilford is just 16 minutes from Liverpool Street with the new Elizabeth line and then one or two minutes walk from Ilford station. Many channels in TV. I didn't like the bed that much. Everything was clean but small and so was the price. Continental breakfast for a low price was tasty and served in good AC breakfast room with not so many tables and seats which also is the lobby and reception and last morning was a surprise with full english breakfast served for the same price. Nice and helpful staff.

I've been to Best Western hotels with better standards. Positive - staff was really helpful and friendly, the continental breakfast was ok (apart from the coffee, which was instant coffee only). There's no A/C, but I hadn't checked before going, so that's on me. Shampoo wasn't renewed once the two mini-packs were spent, the elevator stopped working one day and I was able to hear the buzz of the mobile phone in the next room - which meant I didn't sleep very well.

Lovely, knowledgeable staff at check in. Loved the breakfast. Room was small, but acceptable for the price paid. Sheets and towels were lovely and well laundered. Comfy bed. Tv hairdryer hidden in drawers but we found it!

Not quite 'Best Western' based on previous experience of the chain, probably due to being in London where hotels can be quite varied. However, reception nice and friendly, room clean and functional, breakfast excellent. Only downside was no shower gel provided (there was soap but I prefer shower gel!) and the turkey! bacon was tasteless. Neither a big reason not to book again.

The team will greet you at the front desk, will guide you through the check in so nice, quick and easy. The rooms are cleaned and well maintained with good mattress and ameneties quality. Breakfast with breakfast staff are amazing with so many items are available. Stay here and enjoy your weekend.

A very nice Hotel! We keep coming back to this hotel because of the warm hospitality and cosy rooms. The staff are all very helpful and hospitable, especially Stephan the manager and night receptionist,Amila. Breakfast was good and had a wide variety of items.

Outstanding Stay with Outstanding Staff, which will definitely you should choose and to experience. Elena, Anna, Petra, Amila all staff members try their best to make your stay so comfortable that you will want to go back home. The Housekeeping Staff and their supervisor Nata are very hardworking people by excellent cleaning of the rooms and public zone. I should not be enough to mention the GM of this place who is Stephan and his managerial skill are definitely should be appreciated. We will be back soon

Nice quaint hotel within walking distance from the train station. Lots of Arabic cuisine in the immediate vicinity. Small but nice rooms. Friendly staff and free WiFi . Has a kitchen where you can order a few menu items to eat

Stay for one night with my son. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room upgraded, which was a pleasant surprise. Good central location on Ilford High Street. Parking is not directly at the Hotel, but at their sister site only a couple of minutes walk away. I can't comment on the breakfast as we had room only, but facilities were all clean and tidy.

I stopped at Best Western Greater London on the 8th February 2022 room 108 . I went to bed at 11.30 the mattress was so badly worn I could feel the springs. I went down and complained and was offed a double duvet to lay on I slept on it for another hour and find it impossible to sleep. I went down to complain again and wasn't offed another room, so I told him I was leaving and he went fine ill open door then I left to go home

This is the best hotel in East London: - very clean - excellent location, next to the train station - quite and comfortable rooms - professional and polite staff members - amazing breakfast with a lot of items which can be eateable in the morning: fruits, yougurts, cereals, cheese, milk and etc The management is operating this place on the high standard of Best Western Policies

They have two hotels. If somehow you ended up at the other. You likely posted a favourable review. Our experience was horrific. No lampshades in moms room. Freezing cold and grubby. My room was not as bad but mould on both showers. As I am a smoker. I don't litter when smoking outside. I put them in my pocket. So when I get to a garbage can. I empty them. So I emptied my pockets as I always do. I've never smoked in a room with my husband as he has copd. My parents are non smokers. The manager then kept a 100£deposit for what was in my trash can for both rooms! The lobby was dirty ,the front desk girl couldn't look up a booking reference then said her rooms were closed due to maintenance before finally checking us in. Not only was this a skid row hotel not fit for Best Western logo but unscrupulous in its management. Avoid at all costs and don't believe the bogus reviews

Enjoyed our family stay at this nice hotel. Clean, quiet with delicious breakfast and good location where you have lots of restaurants. Outstanding service and professional staff, very helpful with getting all needed information about area. Definitely would recommend.

I stayed here with my girlfriend in a double room on a Saturday night. Our room was compact but perfect and lovely & clean. The staff at check in were lovely and friendly and different staff were also really nice when we checked out. The location is fab: train station shopping center, cafes and restaurants I'm looking forward to stopping here again, soon.

Amazing place in Ilford. This hotel is No 1 which you need to book in Ilford. Excellent service, very professional staff, hot and very good breakfast. Room amenities and decorations are very decent. Bedroom and hotel very cleaned and organized.

This is one of the best hotels in East London and the best in Ilford. Service is outstanding, Cleanliness is excellent, it is really cleaned there. Reception open 24/7, the staff is very professional and helps you with any questions. Location is perfect for those who doesn't want to use private car, just a minute walk from Ilford Train Station. Breakfast is so hot and so fresh, you will love it. The management is top class: friendly and very polite.

1st of all there is 2 Best Western hotels here ,literally round the corner from each other. make sure you get post code right. This hotel is on main road ,you have to park at the other one ,unfortunately everything about this hotel is sub standard, definitely don't book here if you have kids or staying longer than 1 night.

I would like to really thank the Best Western staff for making our relocation from Belgium to London very smooth. We stayed for more than a week and they arranged a bigger room for us with an option to store all our luggages underneath. Me and my family will be very grateful to them. Was staying in Illford to visit a friends relatives grave. The hotel was close to the cemetery and train station so very handy for getting around. Decor was really tired. Several broken fixtures and fittings. Great breakfast!

Best Western Greater London Hotel is oustanding place for a weekned which you would like to spend with your family. Good size rooms, full cleaned and sanitized, very good mattresses for sleeping and good quility amenities. Staff (Reception and Cleaners) is very professional and helpfull, which are ready to fullfil your request on hight level customer service.

Highly recommend! From moment me and my partner arrived till the time we left everything was perfect, receptionist was very professional and always smiling,very welcoming! Especially Agnes really helpful! The cleaners who did a fantastic job as everywhere was spotless, extra towels and pillows provided, Ironing board and Iron provided if needed, worth a visit!!! We stayed here for 2 nights over the Halloween weekend. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. We managed to park in a permitted carpark, but it was very tight and very busy. The breakfast was great for the family. We stayed in the quad room,which is on the front of the property,and the noise of the road was constant,it did quite down between 01:00-06:00. If your a light sleeper like me,then you may not sleep much. Great location for transport ,buses/trains.

Firstly I'll start by saying how lovely the staff were that we met. Secondly I wouldn't recommend staying here if you are travelling by car - if you are travelling by train then fine. We were advised to ring 10 minutes before arrival so we could be told where to park. We arrived and my partner stayed in the car in case of a traffic warden whilst I ran in to find out about the parking situation. He had to park at the bus stop as no where at all to pull in outside the hotel. We were given a parking permit and told to go to a certain car park, we arrived there and spent 5 minutes looking for a spare bay. None at all were free. So I rang the hotel who said to go to another hotel and if no places there then park at the hotel next door. We had to park at the one next door. We walked to the hotel and were given our room, we were at the back of the building and the windows opened onto a brick wall. Not a problem as we were only sleeping in the room and only staying 1 night. I got in the shower, came to dry my hair and no hairdryer (which I had previously emailed to check if they have) . My partner rang reception and the receptionist couldn't get us a hairdryer so we had to move rooms. The second room was at the front of the hotel. Straight onto the bus stop. We heard nothing but sirens and lots of noise as on the main road. It did quieten down at night but still not quiet. The breakfast was good, the staff were so helpful and lovely. Personally for us we wouldn't stay here again if we were driving based on the fact of the parking situation and was quite inconvenient having to walk with our luggage and bags. Especially as we left in the rain.

The Best Western Greater London Team is the best hotel team which we have ever had in East London especially Ilford. This is a real team with exceptional management who created this team. The reservation / front desk team is very professional and they have offered us very competitive rates with exceptional serivce. Housekeeping / Cleaning Department well organised and arranged. Cleaning Team is very good and hardworking. All rooms have been deeply cleaned and sanitised. The Internet is super fast with good LAN connection for desk laptops. We are very happy and satisfied with the team and service we had.

This is a budget hotel.(we spent 2 weeks there)The rooms where as expected, they where clean good shower lots of hot water. The staff where very friendly and would go out of there way to help you. There continental breakfast went well beyond expectations. Even arranged a discounted ride back to Heathrow I will stay here again

Stayed here whilst on a course. The hotel was great, room was good size and bed was comfortable. The manager and staff was amazing and always happy to help. The cleaners was very friendly and if needed extra towels or change of bedding was happy to help.

We are extrimely satisfied of the accommodation given by Best Western Greater London Hotel. The reception is very helpful (especially Stephen, Agnes, Ilena). They have complementary upgraded our room. The reception is open 24/7.

I had excellent stay with Best Western Greater London Hotel. I am recommending this property which is located in the heart of Ilford next to Ilford Train Station within 1 min walk. The front desk staff and houskeeping is very friendly and helpful.

Everything was OK for the booked price, except the breakfast which came in take away bags with little to none options in it. Normally breakfast is served in the conference hall, but apparently not this time. I'd advise to don't pre-book breakfast and maybe to visit e.g. a "Prêt-à-manger" if there's no breakfast in the conference room, because the pre-prepared breakfast isn't really worth the price (~5£). The rest was good

I had a very pleasant experience, stayed there for only 2 days but is was amazing. Nice, clean and a quit room where I had rested after a long traveling day, with a delicious breakfast in the morning. Stephan and his team assisted me with a parking for my car and with recommendations for a good restaurant to have my dinner. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Initially the booking process was smooth and efficient. However, I was told on arrival that I needed to pay a £ 50 Security Deposit to which I agreed and asked when this would be refunded. I was told by the member of staff on duty the evening I arrived that it would be refunded between 3 - 14 days after my stay, which is not normal Business Practice to keep hold of a Security Deposit for 2 weeks after a Client has left! I have now sent several emails including to the manager of the Ilford branch to confirm when they would be refunding my Deposit, to date I have heard nothing, which leaves me no option but to seek advice from my bank! Very poor Customer Service!

I have struggled to draft this as I don't want to come across as being negative or ruining a business. I have visited best western before and had a great experience (not the ilford branch), I thought this wouldn't be any different. Please whatever you do, don't visit this hotel they have bed bugs!!! I visited the hotel on Wednesday 11th 2021, we (my husband and 18 month old ) had initially booked to stay there for 3 nights but only stayed 2 initial nights. Due to the severe bite marks all over my body. We reported the issue to front desks and our room was changed - I couldn't sleep and extremely bothered, I felt violated to say the least. By then I was already irritated and itchy, I just wanted to go home. We asked for a full refund or monetary compensation, we were told to request this via email to management. They denied there ever being any bed bugs in the room; despite me killing one. Of course we sent pictures of the bit marks, along with a lengthy email to management. They then offered us a 30% discount and free breakfast, as if we were ever planning to return. We are extremely upset and disappointed to say the least.

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel. Excellent location. Ilford station is walkable. Many restaurants near by. Room is bit small in size but beds are comfortable. Ilford mall is very close. Got parking voucher as promised.

Stayed overnight following a 12 hours work. Got the hotel no parking even though I had a conversation with a member of staff prior to arrival regarding parking. Was told that a space ll be allocated upon arrival. Got to the hotel, no parking being told park on single yellow and come down in the morning to get a parking ticket as their sister parking had closed now. Got to the room, gosh this was dirty. The bed linen was fine, dirty shower, dirty bathroom floor and dirty towels. Managed to put my head down( mind you, I arrived at the venue past 1am). Got up for 8am to go move my car. Got to reception only to be told sorry we are we fully booked. Ended up paying for parking for 2 hours while I get ready. Very disappointing and misguiding

This place is wonderful place to lodge.The staff are so accommodating. The bathroom is sparkling clean.the room is so neat.mattress is very cool.the compound is so hygienic.I recommend this hotel you guys.

All staff are very cordial. A Pleasant stay. Very good location, great breakfast, transport just outside the hotel, near to array of eateries and a mall. Rooms are clean and tidy. Train station close-by too.

Room was OK with very basic facilities. Breakfast could do with providing an alternative vegetarian meal. No sanitisers anywhere in the hotel. Staff were polite and helpful. At 2am in the morning there was loud noise of people moving about or moving things about for quite some time, which I had to report to reception to get resoloved.

The staff at the hotel are amazing I met with valentina who was very helpful and offered to give me a plate when she saw me carrying my take away food into the hotel without prompt and Stephan simply amazing

Everything is cleaned and fresh. Everyone working there is always so polite, especially Valentina, the lady, who checked me in was fabulous! Highly impressive service! The staff is going above and beyond to make your stay as pleasurable as they can. The location is not that wonderful,but the hotel makes you feel safe and welcomed! On 31 March 2021, the customer service provided by Valentina was superb. I attended the reception and was very impressed with Valentina's attention to detail. Based on the excellent service provided on this occasion, I will return to stay at Best Western in future.

I staid here a few times. I have coming back, it's service is good with the situation we are in Corona virus pandemic. Im still amazed at how the people are managing to keep the hotel clean and covid free. There is precautions set to help with the corona. Thank you! I will be back

Me and my partner stayed in the Best Western for our honeymoon. We stay in the Best Western regularly so was expecting great service but the Best Western Greater London excelled our expectations. ALL staff were soo friendly and could not do enough to make our stay special including an upgrade and late check out. The hotel was lovely, very clean and a really relaxing chilled atmosphere. I cannot thank all staff enough for all their kind and friendly manners. Felix is an asset to the team. He provided service with a smile. Nothing was too much. Considering the current situation our stay was so relaxing and enjoyable . We will definitely be returning soon! Thank you

Chose this hotel as close to two places we were visiting, Stepan and Felix very friendly and helpful without being intrusive, room was clean and remarkably quiet throughout the night. The hotel felt safe due to COVID-19 measures in place, sanitiser on entry and social distancing around the hotel. There was also staff on duty all night. Would stay here again if in the area in future.

Great small hotel. One of the best small hotels in East London, has a value for money For £ 65 I wasn't expecting much, but this little hotel surprised me. Quiet, comfortable and peaceful place The front desk staff were very helpful and professional. I needed some help and they were very helpful. Friendly helpful staff, good clean room with nice warm power shower. Great training room facilities. Whilst delivering a course in the conference suit, whatever I asked for, it arrived within 1 minute. I accidentally took home their hdmi lead and when I phoned them to apologise, they never made me feel uncomfortable, they totally understood the mistake. Great value hotel with friendly helpful staff.

After an awful evening being ripped of by what is supposed to be an amazing apartment in the o2 arena. Left on the street at 2am with a disabled lady and four other adults. We came across this lovely hotel with the amazing night staff called dragos. He checked us all in helped us get food and chatted politely even at 5am as we struggled to sleep after the previous experience at the last hotel. Thanks to this man we returned here only last week Friday and will definitely be returning again. This time it was different night staff but just as great. The staff whilst checking out just as great a very warm and welcoming place in a whole and do everything they can to help.

Very happy with my stay. Friendly staff, clean and well-appointed room, great shower and comfy bed. Quiet and peaceful even though location is on busy shopping street. No toilet roll - an oversight quickly remedied when pointed out to staff - otherwise would be 5.

This hotel is the worst. Although it is at great location but worst service and not worth at all. Our room was accidentally opened by some other guests and we were so embarrassed. How can a hotel provide another key of same room to some other customer. No security and no AC. Its very very hot and rooms are also smaller. Bathroom is dirty and shower handle was broken. Guest houses are more better. Never go for this hotel. They don't even deserve one star also.

Overall we are happy by it. We stayed 5 nights for business. The staff was very helpful (especially Stephen and Iveta), apart from few low end ones. They upgraded to big room for free. The kitchen was open and they were polite to help in warming food etc. The reception was 24/7. But, we feel this hotel might not be good for families (espcially over weekend) due to some reasons, which I am sure you got the pointer.

It was my Colleague's birthday day and with the help of Theodore ivata and Stefan the prepared a special baby breakfast and cake it was a small gesture but just one example of all the excellent service provided by all the staff at best Western Greater London I can not recommend it enough

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights, as we were doing a show in central London, London, shopping and meeting our son & girlfriend for lunch in central London. Easy to find, easy to park, hotel staff friendly, hotel itself was all good and fine, clean and tidy. Excellent for getting the train to Liverpool Street to get Tube. Plenty of local amenities should you need them.

Never book a room in this hotel! the service is bad and not honest at all, we were ripped off and lost a lot of money because of their incompetence! we called to ask if it was possible to change our dates because of the corona virus they said yes and we have proof by email, and they even added that there would not really be any additional costs . After this call, we decide to change our plane tickets. a few minutes later we call back and the version has already changed we are told that there will be additional costs, something we accept despite everything. The next day the answer is quite different! we are told that finally there is no possible change that we have lost our reservation and that there was nothing more to do and that if we wanted to book we would have to pay the full price again while we have changed our plane tickets following their call !!!

Had a very good stay here very clean and good breakfast Stephan and ilja were very attentive and helpful. I had a great experience staying with Best Western Greater London and I will recommend it to everyone. Also hotel was located just 3minutes away from overground station.

At very short notice we needed a bed for the night in Ilford to visit our just born grandson in hospital in London. The room was immacculate, the staff very friendly and helpful and the rate was great value for money

Friendly and professional staff - front desk and housekeeping. We get well decorated and extremely fresh room. The impression was that the room was very well cleaned. Big TV screen, Tea & Coffee facilities in the room. WiFi and High-Speed Internet LAN connection, which I have used for work purposes. When we arrived we were greeted with smiles and warmness after I introduced myself, the lovely gentlemen Stephen at front desk professionally handled the check in process. Room This was the best room in the hotel as far as I was concerned as it had a skylight towards the road and a window facing the rear so you could have both windows open and get a nice breeze through the room. Room and bathroom was very clean, hot water from the tub, nice and warm in the room. WI-FI The connection was perfect and very strong. Breakfast Full English (with a twist but more on that later). Cereals and toast (single 4 slot toaster) orange juice as well as tea and coffee (boil your own kettle though) The toast was fine. After having some toast decided that we would try the full English. Eggs, turkey rushes, hash browns, beans, sausages and mushrooms were available in a buffet area. Leaving We asked about late check out and the hotel did an extra hour for free as complimentary. Staff The staff were really helpful and accommodating and staying the extra time was no problem at all. Overall a really great little place to stay for visiting the sights of London without costing the earth. Really convenient for the Ilford TFL station and the local shops. Would definitely recommend

I was moved here from their sister Best Western Ilford Hotel around the corner, there had been a water leak and my room was damaged. It looks like a café from the outside and is situated on the main road through Ilford a few minutes walk to the train station and Wetherspoons. Once you get upstairs (the lift was out of order for my 3 night stay) it is very quiet and clean with well lit corridors. The room was practical and clean and I slept well. Overall a great stay and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The reception was great. Breakfast was good except for the fact that the full breakfast was the same thing everyday. The workers were friendly. I booked for a single room. The room was smaller than I expected. The bathroom was very small. The room was neat but the desk was dusty. The price was fairly ok since I booked a week earlier. The hotel is less than 2 mins walk from Wilko and Ilford station. There's a supermarket, Tesco that's a minute away from the hotel. Complessively it was a cool stay.

No air conditioning,the room was so hot I hardly slept, we had a fan provided but it was unbearable No bacon at breakfast, smelly landing Breakfast was horrible, staff weren't friendly Mushrooms boiled

Despite being a Best Western Diamond Select card Member, payment was demanded on check in. The bed springs stuck out making sleep impossible. The breakfast food and coffee were awful. The manager was not available in the morning or evening. My reward points were not posted to my account.

Although the room and the bathroom were clean and the staff was courteous, our stay was not pleasant. The rooms are not air-conditioned and it felt like it was a sauna! Kept the windows open to try to cool it down but the noise from the busy street was too loud!!! We had the most unpleasant stay and we felt it was not worth the money we spent on this place. I will never go back and will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

The worst ever hotel I saw in my life I stay there 3 bed nights from 07/11 to 07/14/19 and a worst customer service.Also the rooms are very bed and the restrooms are not even clean.Bed sheets and towels are smell very bed also the breakfast options are not good too.The rooms are very small and hectic room.No AC in hotel rooms.Price is not worth.Employees are so rude and not helpful.Even they dont have extra Fan and Bed sheets. Ill suggest not to book this hotel for any cost it will ruin your whole trip

Stayed here for 2 nights as a good location to travel into Central London - bus stop right outside and rail station less than a 5 minute walk away. No car parking, but parked at sister hotel just round the corner so no real inconvenience. Our room was on the first floor, very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was also very clean with a good sized shower. Breakfast was adequate, but not fantastic - disappointed to have hard poached eggs made in a poacher rather than freehand in a saucepan.

We were very disappointed by the Best Western Greater London in Ilford. In the past we have relied on Best Western hotels in Europe because they offer a choice of locally owned facilities that meet BW standards. There are several such BW-recommended hotels in the London area – we chose this particular hotel because of its location (near a rail stop on a line we needed) and, of course, its price. As it turned out, the staff were friendly and courteous, and the breakfast room and the food met our expectations. However, it never occurred to us that any BW-recommended hotel would not have air conditioning. As it happened, temperatures in London were in the mid/high 90s (36-38 Celsius), our room we unbearably hot, and there was no cross ventilation even with the door open. Like most buildings in northern Europe, once they heat up they stay hot.

Stayed in family room 301 on 6th July with grandparents in 303 Positive points .. cheap ..staff nice enough .. Bad points .. as you climb stairs the temp rises and rises by time u reach floor 3 you might as well stay in a sauna .. So so hot ..must have been 30c+..desk fan provided .. limited! .. terrible night sleep for all 4 of us .. asked porter for more fans .. he had a look but none left .. no A/C..I wouldn't normally moan but almost unbearable .. had colder nights sleep in Crete.. something seriously wrong .. also 301 got terrible sloping roof .. you can sit up in bed (to towel off the sweat) and bang head on sloping ceiling . WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN

My wife and I had the unfortunate pleasure of staying here at the beginning of May. To be honest I was shocked at where we were staying. I am Diamond Select card holder that chose to use one of the free nights I had accrued, clearly a mistake. If this is how you treat loyal guests I won't be spending many more nights with Best Western. On arrival around 10.15pm my wife and I had to negotiate our way past three men at the front door which didn't look particularly friendly, neither did they move. Walking in to reception (if you can call it that), it was deserted (my wife had checked in earlier), we went to our room unchallenged. What caught my eye was the delicatessen counter at the ear of reception, breakfast? I can assure you I'd didn't stay to have breakfast. We went to our room and on the way up the stairs we were affronted by the smell of marijuana which was really strong. Upon entering our room it seemed to have made it there as well, really disgusting smell. The room itself was incredibly small with furniture that you wouldn't buy in Homebase, it all looked very dated although appeared clean. I opened the window to our room that had a lovely view of a brick wall. In the morning I woke up (not that I slept) to the sound of a child crying in the house next door and the noise of a washing machine (no idea where from). To be fair the bathroom was clean and the shower good. When reviewing this hotel many people have uploaded pictures and comments from the other Best Western in Ilford whereas my comments do relate to this hotel. I did receive an email from Reception following a survey I completed for Best Western but it wasn't reassuring.

Used for 5 nights while working in london,first of all this hotel is in middle of high st with no car parking you got to park car at sister hotel or the agreement the hotel got with the restaurant across the road, you have to show some id like passport or drivers licence when u get there also the ask for deposit against breakages in room, the amount of hotels we have used this is first time we have had to do this, Room was a triple room ie doible bed and single was ok comfortable with all tea coffee,sugar etc good powerful hot showerbut tv remote was missing to had to go and ask about it,brakfast the cook to order but no bacon,they dont do bacon? Instead you get turkey rashers, not a lot of continental on offer, free wifi so a bonus and lad on reception at night was very plesant,area outside to me was a bit rough would not like to hang about there at night Ideal for ilford train staion for train to liverpool street

We were invited to this hotel for tea. The reviews were good. Our host ended up making sure we had enough for our tea, there should have been a waitress on duty to accommodate us. The sandwiches were very nice but we wkndered if the fruit had been washed. Tea was stewed and we had to keep asking for fresh tea. The area where the tea was was very nice but to see a Henry hoover outside the function room was not very inviting

While I didn't lodge at the best western hotel in oldies I did stop by for afternoon tea. Great experience with them. Friendly service and awesome afternoon tea. Great sandwiches and snacks and very good tea. Loved it.

This cafe is open to the general public and offers an unrushed peaceful environment for refreshments. There is a limited menu, but is extremely good value and service is with a smile. If you want a catch up with a friend it is an ideal cafe to visit.

We had already been in this hotel in June and we did not hesitate to book it again, for our need, from 25 to 30 September. The motivations are very simple, that is, we could appreciate the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. A special thanks goes to Mrs. Svetlana who helped us to solve some problems and who patiently made up for our lack of knowledge of the language. Cozy and clean rooms, excellent breakfast. Try it.

Please be warned. This hotel is WAY below US Best Western standards and they WILL charge you for nights not stayed. I had to move hotels and it cost me $600 total. It will absolutely ruin a tourist visit of London!

Been here since Monday 20th August. I was pleasantly surprised I got 10 % instant on my bookings. The room was superbly clean. And the Receptionist Svetlana helped me to bring my luggage to lifts. Service is 5 Star Status

Room was spotlessly clean and very spacious, bathroom equally clean and tidy, nice shower and cosy bed, there's a little noise from the road but overall I slept very well, the man on reception was very welcoming and friendly

Friendly staff and service. Room had everything needed. Only in the backstreet it was quite noisy in the middle of the night. So, I had to close the window. If there would have been plain yoghurt and muesli at breakfast, I'd given five stars.

Hired a hall in this hotel for a conference and also for a book launch. Staff helpful. Unfortunately the PA system was not working, otherwise a good venue for intimate or slightly larger group functions. Very close to the station and bus stop. Limited parking though .

We spent one night at the Best Western Hotel. They checked us in, in the horrible room 301. There was only a small window in a room. The whole night was the temperature of 29 degrees in a room (the outside temperature was 20 degrees). We couldn't sleep. We called the reception asking to do something or we wish change this room. They said the hotel is full and they don't have desk fans any more. We travel a lot and often sleep in hotels, but this time we were treated as animals. (In addition, the hotel doesn't has a parking spaces). Never again...

Very nice and well priced, always good to see smiling faces especially Svetlana the receptionist. I'll be back again when I need hotel in London. For my next stay I wish to have cookies in the room or at least biscuits.

We really enjoyed this hotel! The room was cozy and very clean pretty yummy breakfast AWESOME Breakfast Staff kudos to them, breakfast was free of charge since we are Best Western Rewards member the front desk staff Svetlana was very friendly she took her time to help us with all our questions about hotel location and rides from the hotel to the main attractions points in London! We paid very cheap price for what this hotel offered I definitely recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family and we definitely go back next summer!

the reception was very warm and homely. The receptionist - Ms. Svetlana was much helpful. the room is okay for the size and price, it has a comfortable bed, well-positioned television, and a reading/working desk. the breakfast was excellently tasty. a beautiful location, close to train station and stores.

5 minutes from Ilford train station, 5 minutes from a couple of Wetherspoons and a good Buffet, no fridge in room, OK TV, very small bed and small room, shower only, kettle and coffee sachets provided.

Having had afternoon tea here in April, we enquired about the function room, we asked the lovely lady in reception if we could pay cash as we had some trouble with our cards and we are awaiting new cards, she replied "yes, however you have to pay in advance before using function room." We agreed and said we will pay the £50 deposit the next day, on coming in the next day the rude women who represents this hotel was extremely rude and said the room is already booked, and we can only pay by card, I informed her we had spoken to someone else yesterday and she said everything was fine, she then had the cheek to tell me I don't think you understand, she is not English has a string eastern European accent, she clearly did not want us English black people to hire the room she was very Rude, maybe the management could put her on a customer service course and racial awareness course I will never go back there and will never recommend it to a friend as I felt I was treated this way by this lady because of my colour, that is so wrong, feel free to reply @the management team this incident happened at approximately 12.45 today 2/6/18

Absolutely surprised at the level of class in this hotel considering it's in Ilford ??... would definitely recommend this hotel.. staff we're brilliant especially a beautiful receptionist called Svetlana, she was very sweet and well mannered ????

I have fell for this in a Best Western before.. "we have upgraded you to an Executive Room".. oooh I think after a 4 hour drive, that's nice!!! No it's not actually. Room is outside with 2 other executive rooms. Executive rooms 1&2 have a sign for them, room 3.. my room.. has no sign at all! Anyway.. I open the door and the smell of damp is over powering. But I think to myself, if this is an upgrade then I best not ask for my original Room! So I dump my stuff and walk to the supermarket and purchase air freshener. Of which I used the whole bottle over the stay. So what else can I astound you with. Wobbly plug sockets, rusty shower rails, a leak under the carpet near the bathroom which I found in the night..hence the smell I realise! Generally scruffy and most certainly not an Executive Room. Although I am scared to think of what I could have ended up in. Shower kind of pours out at an angle that is only any good if you are actually a triangle. It does not move. Oh and parking.. Haha. I am down the road, next to the hotel bins under trees and in front of a private garage. Yea I expect to be clamped but hotel says it's fine. Hope it's actually still there tomorrow! I travel all over the country.. I most certainly will not be staying here again.

We were bought afternoon tea here as a Christmas present and wasn't sure what to expect. But what we did get was really lovely. The lady who served us was very helpful, we were told to chose what sandwiches we wanted from the menu and choice of breads which wasn't just brown or white but seeded as well which we liked. And so freshley made lovely. These were bought up on a stand with little cakes and tarts on top layer and fruit in the middle layer, this I didn't expect which was a lovely change and healthy too. Then toasted tea cakes with butter and jam, another unexpected treat to afternoon tea, I've never had that anywhere before. And last was a scone each with squirty cream and strawberry sauce (maybe clotted cream and jam would have been better, but for the price it cost we can understand) We thoroughly enjoyed it though. And will return.

I can't fault this hotel at all. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the hotel is clean and inviting. Breakfast catered for everyone from cereal, croissants to full fry up and plenty of it. Off street parking and good wifi too.

Super handy for London - we used for a night out in town & to save us our normal 2 hour train trip home to the sticks! Worked brilliant. Clean & quiet. What else do you need this close to town for those rates - we got a mid week room for £37.50! The receptionist, Svetlanq, was super helpful too & explained everything we needed to know. Will be using this place again as a night out in London bed..

The worst hotel stay ever. I travel a lot and used to staying on hotels including budget ones. They never had the heating on and the room was cold. I later discovered the radiator was switched off. They never told me about it. When I started to shower in the morning, I had to twiddle the taps around until the temperature was right. Nearly burned myself in the process. The shower cubicle is designed for a child and not for an adult. The whole experience was atrocious, instead of being relaxed my day was ruined as a result of lack of sleep and not being able to clean myself properly. I just don't understand as to why they did not just make the toilet and shower as a single wet room. This would have made the shower area larger for all sizes of people. By the way I am not fat. The breakfast was the only good thing. There is no car parking and the car parking advice is very poor, well does not exist. Will not recommend this place to anyone.

We were at Best western greater hotel London 5 days in october. They pre authorised my moms card twice before we come (everytime 69€). When we came we paid full price for all days cash and they pre-authorised my card with 50 libras deposit for room card. When we´ve done check out , employee told me that all money (moms preauthorisations and my) will be back in our accounts in next 7-10 days. We are at home for three months and money aren´t still back. I´m so pissed off, disappointed, and feeling cheated. I don´t recommend this hotel!! I´ve written positive recommend to booking.com when we left hotel, but i won´t to cancel it because it´s not true and I knew it late.. I am willing to cancel this review when the hotel returns the money they owe us (more than 200 € !!!)

The hotel was cheap and also in a good location in Ilford, close to a lot of shops, However, they had no parking here and although they said they had parking at the other BW down the road, that was full too, but we were lucky as we were there on the bank holiday and could get away with parking. We booked a room for four, which was quite cramped and although it had a window, the window was past like a small corridor and very far from the beds because of the layout of the room (attic). The room should have at least had air conditioning since the window is so far away. Everything was clean and breakfast was good. I booked from laterooms and initially booked the BW Ilford (down the road), and as I wanted to swap from a triple room to a quad room (there were none available in that one) so they moved us here and charged £30 just to switch the hotel (both were BW) as well as £10 which was the price difference between the rooms.

stayed for 2 nights when i was working away, the room are very clean and a good size, breakfast was good with a full hot menu from full English to eggs on toast and cold buffet as well, all the staff were very friendly a good place to stay

Loved this place, the room was spacious and clean. All the Staff were polite and helpful when needed. In a really good location for access to the airport with a supermarket nearby as well as many restaurants down the street. We stayed here for 14 nights and found it easy to get into the centre of London by using Public transport a direct train from Ilford station. Breakfast was amazing with lot of variety. They serve very tasty Muffins during breakfast. The reception staff (Svetlana) was very helpful with all the information. The housekeeping staff (Cristina) was really good. Thank you for taking good care of us and always be so helpful.

Coming here for some time and consistently great. Clean rooms and fresh towels every day. Good spread of breakfast cooked to order and not sitting in buffet plates. Special thanks to Agnes for her kind assistance.

I stay in different hotels virtually every day for work and I have never come into contact with such bad hotel policies, Firstly my booking was originally for the Best Western Ilford but on arrival they informed me they had moved me to BW Greater London, No apologies or is that ok??. So after a further .05 mile walk with my cases I turned up to a hotel that was clearly a down grade, then I was refused entry because I refused to give them a further £50.00 as a security deposit, I obviously looked like a theif or a room wrecker, they claim this was their company policy although I have stayed at many BWHotels and have never been asked this before, also in my opinion this should be clearly highlighted before the booking so to allow people to shop accordingly, its is nowhere to be seen in Expedias Hotel Policies section who I booked through. When I asked for a refund they told me no!! I was to late for a cancelation when I said I am not cancelling you are refusing entry they just ignored me. So in short they wasted 2 hours of my time plus a 2 hr journey only to kick me out on the street at 8.30pm after stealing my money. please see note from receptionist called Anna. I was surprised when I saw the hotel. The room was clean, the employees very kind, and the breakfast was AWESOME??. And also you have a bus station in front of the hotel, the train station is near the hotel too.

I was booked into the hotel, by the BBC, on a brief business trip to London. When I arrived, somewhat frazzled, I was given a great welcome and the receptionist, Svetlana could not have been more helpful. My room was clean, spacious and contained everything I could possibly have asked for or needed. As a frequent traveller, I was as greatly relieved to find that the room was not overheated, as is the case in so many other hotels. I congratulate Best Western on making a short and hectic business stay into a positive experience for a single female traveller.

I found Best Western Greater London quite easy, despite the fact that close to this Best Western it is another one .... Best Western too. So don't make the confusion ! The first impression was not "wow" but after we arrived at the reception, Svetlana welcomed us with a smile like a June sun. And not only she was friendly but all the staff. Clean, very good food (we never finished completely the breakfast), close to a lot of shops and the most important very close (cca 5 minutes) to Ilford Rail Station from where you can go wherever you want. We enjoy staying there and definitely we will come back soon.

Booked this hotel due its proximity and travel connections to Westfield, Stratford shopping centre. Situated on a busy main road in culturally rich area there is a sense of a vibrant atmosphere to the area. The good stuff... - a couple of minutes walk to Ilford station, trains run every 10-15mins and overground with few stops into Liverpool st. - plenty of restaurants & bars/ pubs. - local shops - small shopping centre - excellent receptionist, who arranged car parking - good shower - very nice breakfast and choice at breakfast - comfortable bed - free wifi ( not sure how good it was as we had decent 4G signal) Down sides... - very small room, the bed was pushed up against the wall. - broken shards of mirror on bathroom floor - very hot corridors and bed room with no temperature control - poor digital TVs signal I'd have expected a bit better standard of rooms from a best western, but there is obviously not a standardised level. Not sure if I'd stay again, but if needs be its an option at the right price (but not in the warmer months).

We booked a room for 3 at Britannia Inn Hotel via Hotels.com. When we arrived at the hotel in late evening, we were told there was electrical issue going on in our room so we had to go to another hotel - Best Western Ilford. The front desk said it was just couple blocks away but he had arranged a cab to get us there so we didn't have to walk with our regular North American size luggage. He also said that's a 4-star hotel which was better than Britannia Inn Hotel. Eventually we found out he was lying because at least the Britannia Inn Hotel is located in a quiet neighbor. Once we arrived at Best Western Ilford, the front desk told us we went to the wrong hotel and we were in fact arranged to stay at Best Western Greater London Hotel and it was another couple blocks away, on the main road. This time even though it's the hotel and the cab driver had all this screwed up, we had to walk to the hotel ourselves. We were quite mad because it was late at night, 10'ish pm and we had to walk with big luggage due to a stupid mistake made by the front desk and cab. We were 100% sure both hotel and cab driver had this screwed up because they communicated in their own languages (not native English speaker talking to non-native English speaker). Once we checked in at Best Western Greater London Hotel, we were told our room # was 201 which is facing the busy main road. The front desk (who is a guy) showed us how to use the card to unlock the door lock but we had no luck after several tries. We were back and forth to the front desk several times. The next day we found out from another reception lady that the instruction we got was wrong!!! Really annoying! The hotel rooms are neither equipped with air conditioning or electric fan. Only the lobby/main level is installed with air conditioning. This July was really hot in London. Without any air conditioning or electric fan, we opened the windows in order to get to sleep but the noise was really super noisy and annoying that we had no way to sleep at all. We closed the windows again, but the noise was still loud, of course, we couldn't get to sleep with the hot temperature. The windows are so cheap in quality that they are not sound-proofed. Even it was midnight, we could still hear people screaming and yelling, cars speeding, buses stopping and leaving the bus stop, ambulance turning on its siren. We barely slept for more than 3 hours and we were waken up by the bus again sometime around 5am. We complained to the front desk next morning and they said they could get us a room locating at the back of the hotel, it's room 208. As mentioned earlier, this room isn't equipped with electric fan or air conditioning either but we at least can open the windows for natural freeze and air. Our hotel room floor is equipped with a big chandelier by the staircase. This chandelier comes with 10+ light bulbs. The hallway is small and not installed with any air conditioning. One can imagine how super hot it is. This is totally ridiculous of putting this giant chandelier at this tiny little hotel hallway. There were couple super hot nights that we couldn't get to sleep eveb with windows opened, so we asked the front desk for an electric fan. We couldn't imagine the electric fan was so tiny that it's only good for 1 person! This fan is only 10” diameter! It's just better than nothing! There is free breakfast and a lot of varieties: sausage, bacon, eggs, fruits, scones, … no complaints. Staff were polite. The restaurant is equipped with air conditioning, so no one will eat and sweat at the same time! We asked the front desk why there was no air conditioning and they said air conditioning was only available at 5-star hotel in London. This is absolutely wrong and misleading! We stayed at Holiday Inn Express at Croydon, it is 3.5-star hotel and their rooms all come with air conditioning!!! Without proper sound-proofing windows and air conditioning installed, why this Best Western Greater London is marked as 4-star hotel??? This is absolutely a lie. Holiday Inn Express at Croydon is way better and more comfortable than Best Western Greater London. It is just 10 minutes walk from Croydon train station which has easy access to Gatwick Airport. It is just 1/2 block off from main street and local train station and the rooms are super quiet! Although we booked a room for 3 but they are really super tiny and only 1 luggage is “allowed” on the floor for packing. No wonder why there is no electric fan in each hotel room by default or a bigger fan will be given. This hotel is about 5-minute walk from Ilford train station which is the only reason we picked it. There are many restaurants nearby but most of them are Turkish or Islamic food. It's really difficult to find a place for traditional English or European food. Restaurants in Ilford are comparatively cheaper than London. Although it's just steps away from Ilford train station, if one flies via Gatwick or Heathrow Airport, we didn't realize it will take up to 2 hours to get there during rush hour because it requires several stops and transits. Ilford is not the right place to stay if one is flying via these 2 airports. We are always given a survey to review the hotels if we book through Hotels.com but this time, we never receive one. However, this doesn't stop us from sharing our miserable experience since we are sure if we send this to Hotels.com, they will not post it and ask us to rewrite our review to make them look better (we had been told to do so in the past about our experience staying at a hotel in Taiwan which we booked through them). Last word, not recommending this hotel to anyone unless you are sure you pick cool days to stay at this hotel (not sure if this hotel comes with heating system) or you are given a room away from the busy main road!

Polite check in staff was a plus but the hotel is not good. No amenities such as iron and ironing board. No advice on this during check in despite being on a business visit and letting reception know we had a meeting. No food for evening as restaurant is 'closed for refurb' however breakfast was available so not sure how that works.... Room is poor quality, misplaced fittings, light bulbs gone, wall clock not working.

Arrived, Anna was very pleasant, helpful, friendly and welcoming. Stay was good, rooms are good, breakfast is inclusive and the lady helping during breakfast was really nice. so to sum it up it is a nice place to stay

I enjoyed afternoon tea here with my grand daughter on a rainy summer's afternoon. We had a lovely experience, the staff were welcoming and friendly. The afternoon tea was very good a lovely wide selection of sandwiches fruit and little cakes along with toasted teacakes and scones and cream yum yum . We will defiantly recommend Afternoon tea here great value for money .

Great little hotel, very creative use of space. The quirky cafe/reception area is fun and and all the staff seemed really friendly. The room was very small but clean and well appointed (and more plug sockets than you can ever need!). Great location too – only a few minutes walk from Ilford station from where you can get to Liverpool St in about 20 minutes. We were visiting for an event at the Olympic Stadium, so it really is perfect for that, with Stratford also being on the train line. Would definitely use again.

This is our third time using this hotel so they must be doing something right, It's not what you might expect at first the frontage is a shop front but don't be fooled by that it's every bit a hotel.The staff are what shine through every time here always happy to be accommodating and nothing is a problem for them, Accommodation is clean and in good decorative condition, for some reason the corridors are very warm ?. As we have a early start on a Sunday morning 4am the night porter has a full continental breakfast ready and waiting for us sleepy heads which is so much appreciated . Thank you again Nigel Derrett.

My wife and I regularly have our coffee and breakfast here. Excellent staff (like Anna), service, and a very comforting atmosphere. We recommend the restaurant embedded in the hotel for anyone passing by and need a cozy spot to sit down for a while.

Adequate conference room facility to see clients for simple discussions. Reception staff is friendly and helpful in particular, Anna. The surroundings were clean and tidy. Tne location is quite close to Ilford Railway station.

We were given an afternoon tea voucher as a present. No booking was required. The staff were welcoming and very pleasant which makes a big difference in my view to any visit. We could choose from a variety of sandwich fillings and were also given mini cakes, scones,tea cakes and fruit. The food and presentation may have lacked some of the finesse seen in top hotels, but it has to be balanced against the price and location. Overall it was enjoyable, very good value v the cost, and the friendly staff made a positive impact on our experience.

The hotel in Ilford is just opposite the railway station, and the train brings you to London City in 18 minutes. The hotel is vety nice, and serve a full breakfast cooked the way you want. The benefits by staying in Ilford are cheaper hotel, an internesting restaurants just outside the hotel. Just 300 meters away is a very big park for a run or a nice walk. Not last time we will book a hotel outside the city venter

Beds comfortable. Room was clean. Bathtub shower is detachable shower wand. No refrigerator. No air conditioner. Train to London is two blocks away. Front door locked in evenings. Reception desk open 24 hrs. Cafe on ground floor. Elevator. Many restaurants in neighborhood. Park is a few blocks away.

I found the rooms not so great and the food in the restaurant along whit the service was below Best Western standards. If I was to go back to London I would not stay here again. instant coffee poor shuttle service they can do better for the price.

Clean bedroom and decent bathroom. Good breakfast but awful tea .Very hot room in summer with no air conditioning and windows that don't stay open . No fan but didn't ask because we got back too late.

Pros: Location: On the main street of the town and near local train station. Breakfast: All-you-can-order English breakfast ingredients along with full English breakfast. Willing to heat up pastry up on request. Cons Small shower capsule: We have a small shower capsule in room. Almost half the size shown on photo. Hot room and corridor: Rooms and corridor were not properly ventilated by the only in-room small window. Feel like in an oven. Hard to sleep at night. Small fan can be provided upon request but limited to 1 per room even in a triple room.

The hotel is situated in between shops with one entrance that gets locked at night with a receptionist on duty 24/7 which provides an immense feeling of security. The rooms are not air conditioned but the windows are able to be opened to let in a breeze. The staff was extremely accommodating and happy to answer any questions I had. Although there is not a restaurant on site, not even a 5 minute walk away was a little coffee shop and about 10 minutes away was a 24/7 food market. The station is right across the street which was convenient. The only strange thing was the fire alarms that happened to go off at least twice a morning but it was a great wake up call. The staff was in the room everyday replenishing amenities to ensure the room was like new again when I returned for the night. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I got exactly what I payed for accompanied by excellent customer service.

The excelent rating goes speccially to the recepcionist John, who is very professional, helpfull and interested in solving the problems, particularly the flies allover the hotel (very unpleasant speccially in the restaurant...). Reasonable money for the location, although our bedroom was small.

I was staying in the hotel couple weeks ago and was impressed by professionalism of receptionist working in the hotel. it was my first time in London and I didn't know much where to go. One of the receptionists (Stefan) was keen to help and explain where to go and how to save money on tickets to sight seens by using the gift cards and vouchers. overall: Highly recommended stay at convenient location for reasonable money.

We often visit this marvellous place where you feel like home...cosy rooms, close to train station and of course great customer service provided by well trained staff. ..especially I would specify John, he always gives good rooms away from the street noise and his customer service is one of the best!

Coffee is served for non staying guests during morning hours. Receptionist Agnes was very kind and offered the spacious conference room to enjoy our coffees for the big family of five. Latte, hot chocolate and americano was delicious.

Stayed in a hotel next door for 4 days and I have come to Best Western almost everyday for my breakfast. Staff is welcoming (Agnes is a star) and the restaurant waitress/chef makes super cool breakfast with some amazing smoothies. Fiver star place with super cool staff. A must visit.

For the price it is good. Their breakfast was fantastic. They have bakery items for your choosing and the hot items is made to order. If the tfl train runs, it is easy to get into the city. If not then your trip is longer. The place is clean, and the bathroom is up to date. A would recommend travellers to stay if you have more than 3 days in London.

I'm always choosing this hotel, it's located near to all points of interest like shops, restaurants, station. They have very friendly staff , it's a pleasure to talk with Anna & John at reception. they are very helpful and they give me good price for room. i will recommend this hotel to all my friends.

Had a Groupon deal here. Tea was colourful but disappointing. Half a teacake each and a scone with tinned spray cream. One chicken korma sandwich each. Couldn't find the chicken. Had fruit but the strawberries were not ripe. Nice blueberries and slices of orange. Staff were nice. Not a good street view but it is Ilford. Can't expect a posh view. Been here before but it's gone down. I'm sure we had real cream when it started. What a shame about the almost non existent in the chicken korma filling. The photo of the tea on Groupon looks like smoked salmon and cream cheese but that's not on offer. Also nice very little cakes. 8 in the photo titled 'Tea for Two' on the Groupon page. Two each in actuality. Good price but wouldn't expect much more in Ilford. A group of friends went today and still the same filling or lack of. If you go I think you won't return.

Arriving after a long day at work this hotel was an unwelcome end to a tiring day. I should have researched more myself I guess and I would have discovered there is no parking available no restaurant and no bar. To my mind it's more of a guest house than a hotel. The guy on reception was very helpful and did everything he could to make me feel better including ordering in some food, plating it up and even bringing it to my room. The room itself was strange. Quite dated in one respect with curtains from several decades ago and two beds crammed into a single room. However the bathroom was quite modern with a fab shower. The clock on the wall read 11:30 when I arrived and still said the same when I left at 7:30am this morning. All in all not a terrible stay but one that ensures I won't be returning. Best Western used to be associated with good quality but I'm afraid if Ilford is anything to go by standards have dropped over the years sorry to say.

Anna (at reception) delivers great customer service to exceed all expectations. Thank you for making my stay with you as seamless and enjoyable as possible! The hotel itself is cozy, accessible by public transport. Rooms are clean, spacious. Great value for budget. Don't be deceived by the exteriors (which are a bit shabby).

Went to this hotel on a very good deal for mother and daughter time. Well what a little gem. Staff and facilities were amazing especially Michael who couldn't have been more helpful. Afternoon tea which was included was different but plentiful and included fresh fruit. The rooms were very clean and included a double and single bed. Very surprised how quiet the room was slept like a log.Breakfast was also very good and cooked to order. We went to a show in West End transport was easy and plentiful. Most impressed with llford a vibrant cosmopolitan area with a shopping centre and a Wetherspoon's very close to hotel. Ilford main line station 2 minutes from hotel so what more could you want? So thank you Michael and team for a very enjoyable stay watch out we'll be back!

Went for afternoon tea and was pleasantly surprised by the standard of cleanliness and the food on offer. We had a really good time with our friends and the staff were very efficient. The only downside was trying to find a parking space but it was a Saturday.

I purchased a voucher from Groupon for Afternoon Tea, wasn't too sure what to expect initially. We got to the Reception desk and the waitress showed us to a table. She was so welcoming and extremely good at her job! The place was very clean and the seats were very comfortable. We then got our food which was 4 mini cakes, fresh delicious fruit and sandwiches. I have to say the sandwiches were on soft baked fresh seeded bread, they were so yummy!!! She then brought over our scones and tea cakes, there was loads of food to eat! the tea was really hot (just how I like my tea). Only strange thing was the scones had whipped cream with strawberry sauce, but everything else was perfect and fantastic quality! I would highly recommend! This is one of the best afternoon teas I've ever had, I've been to loads of expensive places in central London but this one was the best for only £11!

About half an hour from the Center of London, near the train station, good transport. Room has UK electric plugs, reception had adapters free to borrow. Room had many towels, shower gel, shampoo, hairdryer, nice flat tv, tea and coffee, water heater. Breakfast was great. Its not for the view, window faced a brick wall. Tesco and other shops was right next door.

We got a voucher for afternoon tea off Groupon. It was much better than we expected - so much yummy food to eat that we ended up taking two boxes home. The fresh fruit was also a lovely treat. I would recommend the hot chocolate. We will be booking this again!

On arrival, they take a deposit. Telling your customers you don't trust them and you need to hold some money as securiy is getting off to a bad start. Then they take a photo of your passport.. IDENTITY FRAUD ALERT. IDENTITY FRAUD ALERT IDENTITY FRAUD ALERT IDENTITY FRAUD ALERT In 20 years of hotels, this is the least hospitable welcome received, therefore one star. Also the "bacon" isn't bacon. It's some sort of disgusting square processed meat that again is nothing like what people expect as an accepted norm. Deviate from the customers expected norm by a wide margin, get one star. About the only redeeming features are that it's cheap, near a train station and handy for cheap food at the local Wetherspoons.

The Greater London hotel is supported and run by a very competent, friendly staff team. The rooms are mostly well proportioned. There are two things that let the place down....maintenance and heating control. Dripping showers and ridiculously hot rooms in the summer don't help. Spend some money to get water temperature balanced and some aircon fitted.

We went here as part of a groupon deal and wasn't sure what to expect the photos looked lovely but you never know. This hotel is on a busy road with other local shops but as you walk in to a lovely reception area with a beautiful chandelier it's like something else! We were given an upgrade to room 101 which looks like a family room with 2 double beds a lovely spacious shower. generally very clean and nice decor and the bed was so comfortable had a great nights sleep! There is a kettle and tea coffee making facilities as well. We got afternoon tea with our deal we were asked what time we wanted it and when we arrived for it we were asked to choose what sandwiches we wanted and then it was brought out with the teas and toasted tea cake and scone with cream AMAZING!! the breakfast the next morning was also lovely and even though there wasn't bacon it was still lovely! The only thing I would moan about is the water in the shower wasn't very hot

Small hotel from the outside but when you go inside, it opens up to our surprise. Clean and staff were pleasant. All amendities right on you're door step, it is good value for you're money. What you see is what you get

There are 3 Best Westerns in the Ilford area, all within a minutes walk of each other. We had booked a family room in the Argyle Road property as it seemed to be on a quiet residential street. We had a call from the hotel on the afternoon of our arrival asking for our ETA which we thought was very efficient and courteous. However, upon arrival, there wasn't a parking space available and the room had been taken out of service due to flooding, all of which they failed to mention when they called asking for an ETA. We were therefore moved to the Best Western, 2 minutes away on Cranbrook Road which was in the middle of all the shops. We had to park in what I assume was a family members Turkish Restaurant car park although the night manager did move our car for us that night. We were given room 301 which had 2 double beds but was way up in the attic space. As a consequence, the room was unbearably hot and despite having 2 fans (one of which was our own) not much sleep was had that first night. We did ask to move rooms the following morning and after packing up our suit case and sight seeing for the day, the staff had moved our things to room 104. It was a smaller room but much cooler. Our own fan did manage to disappear during the room transition, probably because it was much better than the one the hotel provided. A very efficient manager did manage to locate it though on the morning of departure having found it's way into another guests room. In summary, A potential "Fawlty Towers experience" was rescued by very efficient and courteous staff. Good breakfasts and location relative to all the sights of London. And at an amazing price.

Stayed here for a few days per week for several months. The Pros: - staff are really lovely - good value - near the station - there's a big park just up the road. However, the Hotel is a conversion job and the building can't take the volume of traffic, stairs a floors groan when people walk along, doors clap. Really annoying when you're trying to sleep. External noise can also be a problem, depending on which room you get. Actually doesn't matter which room, traffic noise at front, other noise at side. No air conditioning, so you have to have window opened. The worst thing is the other guests. Especially at this time of year when they are tourists. They tramp along the corridors noisily (and see above), engage in loud conversations, play loud music, reenact the Long March in their rooms, at any time up to and including 03:00 am. The worst part is setting off the fire alarms at all hours, presumably because they don't understand that the hotel is nonsmoking. The breakfast is good apart from the idiosyncratic refusal to serve bacon. Also no one could tell me what the sausages were made of, despite my asking. Would probably use again, but not at tourist rates.

This is a great little hotel. Easy access to the TFL rail station. Little mall right down the street. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was courteous and helpful. The pictures of the hotel are accurate. Breakfast was awesome! We stayed five nights and had excellent maid service each day.

We stayed for 5 nights in mid May 2016 in a double room. Walking distance to the train station. Surrounded by shops. Not far from the Ilford exchange. Room clean, bed comfortable. Hot pressurized showers. Bed comfortable. Room a bit small. With a couple of luggages there is just enough room to move around but adequate for 2 people. Staff are all pleasant and helpful. Continental and hot breakfasts plenty but not the tastiest esp the turkey rashers. No bacon rashers unfortunately.

I hated this hotel! There is no parking so ended up over the road and had to pay which was not on the website. The room had a sloping roof I was so uncomfortable as it was cramped. The bathroom was also tiny. There is no room service so I can only comment on the breakfast which was a disgrace. The sausague was indescribable. Safe to say I won't be returning.

We had a Groupon voucher, but even without, it's only £9.99 for two people to have afternoon tea. The cake stands were beautiful, the coffee house is beautiful, and the food was delicious. You choose your sandwiches from the menu, and they bring them up on the stand with gorgeous little cakes and tarts, and lovely fresh fruit, and then they bring out scones and toasted teacakes. We've posted the photos on Facebook and already our friends are arranging dates with us as they want to go. So we will be going back very soon!

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights ( 06-01-2016 till 06-08-2016) in room 107 ! The room was very good , small but ok for 2 persons , it was also very clean , housekeeping dId good job ! The breakfast also good ! The only problem was the trasportation to the center , there is a station 2 minutes walk from hotel but you need an hour to go to the center with the train/underground and 2 hours with the bus , its better to try different hotel if you are tourist who want to explore central london , othervise get an oyster card and get ready for waiting and different routings among the underground! The staff was helpfull and specifically Dimitrius help us with some usefull informations , many thanks ! I reccomend this hotel for sure !

Booked this hotel at the last minute but am glad I did. The hotel was very clean and the staff were helpful. The room was spacious. I was able to choose what I wanted for breakfast and this was cooked freshly to order. Great location by the shops and station.

This hotel is in a splendid location, it is a short walk away from the train station that will take you to for example Liverpool Street Station with access to the tube system that is surprisingly easy to follow. This hotel is surrounded by restaurants and shops. The staff are friendly and helpful, our room was very clean and nicely furbished, with tea and coffee making faclilties. We stayed in room number 201, which is situated at the front of the hotel if you prefer the window open when you sleep, be prepared to hear the traffic outside with some loud passers by. We stayed here an extra night at last minute and the staff were nice enough to keep us in the same room at a reasonable price with breakfast. Breakfast was included in our stay. We stayed here for 3 nights in the end and ate breakfast once during our stay, the cooked breakfast is delicious with choices of cereals, fruit and yogurts with fresh juice and water. Breakfast can be busy, so there maybe a wait for a table, although on our last morning in the hotel there wasn't any where to sit, regards to there being folded up tables and chairs stacked in the corner...but this didn't really bother us because we just wanted to get back home early. Great value (for London). Lovely rooms, nice breakfast with a choice. I noticed that they do offer a nice afternoon tea.Lifts and stairs to rooms with Wi-Fi included. Near reception is a stand offering percentage discounts to popular resorts and attractions in London. We cannot comment on the car parking situations as we travelled to London via train from Wolverhampton, we figured this would be easier then becoming lost around London and its outskirts.

The hotel has been recently decorated and that shows throughout. However there are a few issues, including some staff members and our room. There's also no parking but the other Best Western around the corner allowed us to park there for free. This only happened because we went to the incorrect hotel at first. Our hotel didn't even ask about our vehicle. The receptionist welcomed us with a very curt "yes", and after we explained we were staying there the conversation didn't get much better than a "sign here". She looked annoyed and showed no people skills. We encountered her again when our key stopped working and she was on her mobile, she didn't end her conversation just took the key, activated it and I left. The night receptionists were much nicer, smiled and spoke to us when we returned after being out. The room was small but clean, with all the basics you'd expect. The only complaint is that the bed ran along the window so every time you turned you caught the curtains. Also the windows opened really wide at the bed level so you couldn't have the window open at night in case you knocked it open and a limb ended out the window (this actually happened!), so not safe if you have children. Breakfast was ok, with the standard available, tea, coffee, orange juice etc. It's directly on the main road and because we had a room at this side it was noisy. This place is good for a base after a night out etc, but not great if you have to spend a little more time there, for example if you have children.

The staff are absolutely phenomenal and were extremely helpful. We had an amazing time in what was a very clean facility. The food was delicious to boot; will definitely be visiting again! The only thing that is difficult is parking.

Cannot comment on room or facilities but did not feel safe at all when driving up to hotel. Rang hotel to ask where car park was and I was told there isn't one close so I put a request in to the hotel thAt while it was still light could I be escorted back over the next morning due to 6am start and they couldn't help so I had no alternative to book another hotel last minute. The area isn't great and was even approached by a person knocking on my car window begging.hotel backs onto a back alley with a lot of undesirables knocking about which I would have to cross to get to hotel entrance at front. Again loan female traveller with laptop/ case I wouldn't recommend especially if arriving at night or leaving early morning.

We went there for afternoon tea and had an awesome experience. Fresh produce great choice. The staff were exceptional nothing was too much trouble. Relaxed surroundings. Would definitely recommend it to everyone. Oasis in a busy urban street.

we had a family funeral to go to and therefore wanted a good cheap place to stay in the hotel receptionist was polite and pleasant ,the room was great with good wifi facilities. the only criticism was that the bathroom bins were not cleaned out and was a bit disappointing to see sanitary wear in the bin.also the bed was too firm. the breakfast was however good value and coffee was good if the cleaning had been done properly I would have been quite happy and been satisfied with £50 inclusive of breakfast per night

Room small but clean, broken shower which we manafed with; biggest downside was the lack of sound proofing in the rooms. We could hear the gentleman in the next room coughing and was woken in the early hours by someone having sex, not good. The breakfast was halal with no pork but on booking we were not made aware of this; turkey rashers and fried chicken is not part of an english breakfast and the sausage was indescribable. Have stayed in a lot of best western hotels but woulx not return here. We checked out after one night losing the second night which was prepaid.

The Best Western Garrett London hotel in Ilford, is just two minutes walk from Ilford station. Very relaxing, good quality food and drinks, served by very polite and courteous waitresses. Would highly recommend this venue to everyone.

Well presented on Ilford High Street. Room, Bed and Breakfast good. Hotel does not have its own restaurant but there are very good restaurants out on the high street. I ate in the Turkish one opposite the hotel - very good. Would stay at the hotel again, especially if not travelling by car. Only down side is that the hotel does not have a car park and street car parking is difficult thanks to Yellow Lines. There is a local multi storey car park though. The hotel is only a few minutes from the London Underground.

The room is not big but it has what is needed. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast buffet is great, full English breakfast is available. The location of hotel is only 3 minutes walking to Ilford train station

This was a delightful little hotel I found in Ilford. Perfect to commute to Central London so as to avoid the harsh rates. If you're travelling light for pleasure and don't have demanding requirements, this hotel is for you. It's clean, it's friendly, it's quiet even though it's right in the middle of town with a shopping center, about 2 minutes walk from the overground.

We booked 2 rooms.The rooms were average sizes and were comfortable, had a nice big tv. Loved the breakfast buffet, a lot to choose from so enjoyed it very much. The hotel was quite close to the Ilford train station so was very ideal to travel with luggage. Overall, a good experience.

Stayed for 3 nights on business and checked-in very late. There was a warm welcome which made a good impression after long hours of travel. Very helpful staff, decent breakfast, clean yet small room, free WiFi, close to train station. Not suitable for families, but good for a budget trip with great value for money.

Good, but rooms are very small, after Belgium hotel and service it was two times smaller and without window, but anyway we came there from Stansted airport at 3am so we don't care about anything just wanted to sleep and in the morning to get breakfast, and we got it actually English breakfast+ pancakes/ muffins and many other things that was really delicious and my husband was as always happy because to go in the morning searching for a place it's a bad idea ) Thanks for hospitality

Arrived late afternoon to be met with a receptionist that spoke broken English. Got our room sorted which was 303, opened the door to a furnace (the outside air temperature was 10c). The window was open and the radiator was off and it was still unbearably hot. Also unrelated the clock didn't work. So back downstairs. Given another room, this time 207 which was a triple room. Walked in and it was still too hot but not as bad. The internet did not work either. With a bit of asking with the reception we managed to acquire a fan which made it barely manageable. Bed as comfortable, shower only had scalding hot and freezing cold as options and it kept fluctuating from one to the other. Breakfast was average (No bacon, why?) and it served fairly quick although there are not many tables so you may not be able to sit to eat. Overall a 2 star hotel and was priced far too high for what you get.15 Minutes was Liverpool Street by train.

Hotels location is good for corporate people. I didn't like area due to parking issue and didn't feel safe walking on streets because of type of people living in this area. I wouldn't recommend it for families at all. Staff of hotel was very helpful and polite. Beds were not comfortable and there is no air conditioning in hotel. I didn't have a good night sleep during my stay. In total its a high street budget B&B.

This hotel is snuck into a shopping parade and you could easily miss it. I stayed there because they had a very good weekend rate that was about £40/night less than everywhere else. It is very near to Ilford tube which was handy for central London.

The Greater London is an excellent hotel providing excellent service at booking in, breakfast and departure. The hotel has recently been refurbished to a high standard, the accommodation is small but presented very well and a jolly good breakfast was provided. The location of the hotel was found to be convenient when attending the Olympic Park and not too far from central London. if required a jolly good meal can be taken at the Turkish restaurant across the road .

Stayed in this hotel Wednesday 23rd September.Unbelievably clean,and finished to a very high standard.Centrally located,with many nice restaurants nearby. Special mention to owner/manager Salim,and receptionist Nelly,who were both extremely pleasant and helpful... We will be back!!

The hotel was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There were aspects of the stay which were exceptional including: excellent breakfast, fast wifi, customer service. I will definitely return for another stay in the future

We stayed at this hotel one evening.On arriving from a 3 hour car journey, were not made to feel welcome by the stressed unfriendly receptionist.There were complimentary soft drinks on the reception counter which we helped ourselves to while she had a very awkward costumer service phone call.We were lucky to secure parking space.The rooms were clean and basic.The shower room jn the family room was compact with a very slow draining small sink.Breakfast was OK, seating closely in back to back rows felt cramped and lacking in personal space. Sufficient for a one night stop with no frills.
