    « Just perfect »

We've been visitors to the hotel for a number of years now, not so frequent now but the warm reception we always get starts our stay off on the right foot! We cannot fault anything when we stay. From the cosy bar, wonderful food, nice accommodation and fabulous views. But it is the staff that make the stay so worth while. Polite, courteous and nothing, but nothing, is ever too much trouble. As long as the hotel and superb staff remain, we'll be returning!

On arriving reception we're not on the ball with my booking and checking out the same. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff in the bar and restaurant are friendly and organization in restaurants is very good .The food was ok for this star hotel. The area the hotel is at is in the wilds which would be good for hikers.

    « Beautiful decor »

We stayed for one night before a family funeral. The room was beautifully decorated and the all the furnishings matched. Stunning location with beautiful views from the car park. Our room was small in comparison to the rooms our other family members had, but as it was only for one night it was fine.

« Bit tired but good value »

I visited for a one night stay for business The property is only 30 mins drive into the town centre during rush hour but the location feels rural and quiet if that's what you are looking for. The room was needing some refurbishment particularly the bathroom but it was comfortable and quiet. The bar serves a good selection of meals which seemed pretty good quality and ticked the box for a relaxing night away from home. The breakfast was good too! The hotel staff were all very helpful and friendly. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.

« Brilliant stay, very homely & amazing breakfast »

Stayed at this hotel as the usual chain hotels closer to town were fully booked. It was a lovely change to be staying somewhere with plenty of character. Staff could not have been more friendly or attentive to my every need. The room was spotless with a lovely bed, and was very cosy. The view from the hotel is fantastic. The fully served breakfast was very tasty and so fresh compared to the buffet breakfasts I am used to. Finally, for the price (£60 B&B) this was outstanding value. Thank you, hope to be back soon !

    « A Superb Hotel »

We have stayed here on a few Occassion. The staff are friendly, helpful and at the same time very professional. The rooms are spotless, the beds are so comfortable. The food is EXCELLENT and the menu is very very inviting. You should go, we promise that you will not be disappointed. If you are thinking of getting married, this is a place you should seriously consider.

What an excellent day , cannot fault anything. Richard the general manager who was our master of ceremonies did a fantastic job , nothing was too much trouble the staff especially Reece has a admirer our daughter he made her day extra special by having a photo with her . As I say above and beyond. Will recommend to any one thinking of going here from a standard meal to a wedding breakfast. A* thank you to all the team from Mr & Mrs Field ??

    « Fantastic, really impressed! »

This was our second stay here, our first we left a little un decided, but on our return, 2 months later, we are in no doubt that we will be booking in again for next month! Ideal location for Huddersfield, just twenty minutes in the car, so perfect for wanting something out of town and peaceful but with an easy commute in for my business needs. I booked the stay and dine package for myself and my partner, and couldn't be more impressed, room, a 3 course meal for two and breakfast, the food in the restaurant is always top notch, so to find that we had the freedom of the menu...by this I mean we weren't given a food allowance or a set menu as some hotels do, impressed us very much! Always lots of choice, freshly cooked, and very well presented! The chocolate ice cream was the best I've ever tasted! We were served by a new waiter, Dominic, I believe his name to be, he was a breath of fresh air, not stuffy, didn't rush you, knew the menu, lovely lad. Along with new staff, I noted a few changes, tea, coffee and toast brought to you at breakfast, better than self serve...the breakfast was fresher and better cooked! The rooms had new miniatures, and over all the staff seemed happier and more up beat! But the one thing that really stood out, is the fact that they had a wedding function on, not once did we feel like we were second best, forgotten about, rushed, or in the way...in fact they couldn't do enough for us, checking we were ok with noise levels which were to a minimum, that we were served food on time, our guests who dined with us also left impressed. Excellent service from reception, bar, kitchen and even the very polite housekeeping! Hospitality at its best! Just one tiny thing....please can we have liqueur coffee on the menu, my perfect nightcap, as it is for many!

    « Our Wedding Day »

We had our wedding breakfast and evening reception at Pennine Manor on Saturday 15th October and we were so happy with how they looked after us and all our guests. They decorated the dining exactly how we asked and the food at both the wedding breakfast and evening hot buffet were excellent. It's no easy task preparing 80 odd piping hot 3 course meals to everyone at the same time, but the cooks pulled it off perfectly. Everything tasted fresh and the roast beef was cooked perfectly. Lauren, the wedding planner, was a joy to work with, Nicholas was super helpful and efficient on the day and the waiters and waitresses were so polite and courteous. All our guests liked the hotel rooms, and the breakfast the next morning was really tasty with plenty of choice. We couldn't have asked for more. Pennine Manor is a credit to the hotel industry. Thanks again, James and Rachel.

    « Daughter's Wedding »

The staff made this day very special with everything being run like clockwork. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The Wedding Breakfast food was excellent as was the evening buffet. Breakfast next morning was also good. The only downside was that the bedrooms were very small. We stayed overnight for two nights. We were disappointed that the towels and toiletries were not replaced after the first night. The bathroom radiator did not work and the bedroom radiator was very noisy.

    « eat & sleep »

We stayed at the Pennine Manor Hotel with a group of my friends taking advantage of there eat and sleep deal. This is not the first time we have stayed there. All the staff are welcoming but they are first class in the restaurant, attentive and knowledgeable. The food is excellent. The room was bright and to a very good standard. This was the first time the rest of my group had stayed and they all looking forward to our next visit.

« Excellent reasonably priced meal »

I've visited this hotel several times and the food has always been excellent! I would highly recommend this hotel for dining. The team are always warm and welcoming. My only criticism would be that on each occasion that I have visited the restaurant has been inexplicably quiet so it has lacked in atmosphere/ambience. My visits have usually been during peak Sunday lunch time, I just don't understand why this hotel doesn't appear to be more popular. Considering the great food and excellent value for money, this hotel should be heaving!! This place is worth visiting just for the views I can't comment on the rooms as I have only ever dined here but my mother in law stays a couple of times a year. She loves this place!:?'

    « Fabulous Sunday Lunch »

We stopped off here yesterday, purely on speck and were lucky enough to get a table for two people. We had a fabulous Sunday lunch in pleasant surroundings and served by lovely, friendly people. We are happy to recommend this hotel and look forward to visiting again soon

« Overnight stay with friends »

We booked this as an "eat & sleep" deal for a catch up with friends. The reception received was welcoming and very thorough in explaining access and dining times etc. to the rooms, bar and restaurant. The corridors and rooms are a little dark and not to my personal liking, but more importantly, everything was clean, if a little dated. At this point I should say that for the deal we were on, this is by no means a complaint. Unfortunately, one of our party (me) became ill (nothing to do with the Hotel!) and had to retire to the bedroom; so from now on I am writing the review based upon my wife and our friends experience. Upon hearing that only 3 people were dining, Nicholas (great Manager with excellent personal skills) offered to send for a doctor if required, or if anything could be taken to the room, to let him or reception know and showed the utmost concern. The 3-course evening meals were considered excellent with a wide range of choice (including a steak for no supplement). Full English Breakfast in the morning was fulsome and with good quality local ingredients. The toast and butter were also excellent!! The bed and pillows were very comfortable and, because of the location (with amazing views), a good nights sleep was guaranteed.

« Great views and lovely staff »

From arriving at the hotel the staff couldn't have been better, they are polite, courteous and very welcoming. I had problems working the shower so ended up having to have a bath - the water isn't very hot for taking a bath. Breakfast was served by a very well mannered young man- however the full English was greasy and the sausage was so hard you couldn't cut it. It looked like it had been cooked a number of times. So £9.00 for the breakfast is certainly not worth the money.

Wow. Fantastic setting, friendly staff Mark who manned the reception on the 4/10/20016 was very friendly and helpful. When we returned in the evening we went to the bar and the staff where excellent. This morning we went for breakfast we where greeted by Nick who went beyond my expectations. (Our daughter who lives in Lynthwaite joined us) Nick offered to bring her some fresh toast and also offered her fresh pastries. This was is what I call going the extra mile. Very clean thought out and room very comfortable. 10/10.

« Great location and modern hotel »

We arrived on Saturday afternoon for an overnight stay. The hotel is in a gorgeous position and well sign posted so easy to find. Plenty of car parking space and a helipad but the hotel itself seems to be built back to front! Check in was quick and easy and the hotel is lovely and modern but some areas are very dark. The room was small and compact but comfy and very clean but again very dark and overlooking the car park with a hedge infront of the window for privacy so no view. There was a good selection of refreshments in the room and it was nice to see bottles of water on offer as many hotels dont seem to offer them anymore! A small niggle but the bathroom was a little bit too small and one of the bedside lamps didnt work as it needed a bulb! We decided to stay and eat in the hotel in the evening but we couldnt eat in the restaurant as it was being taken up by a party which was a shame as we were looking forward to a romantic meal so ended up in the hotel bar instead. The table overlooked a row of what looked like stables used for storage which was a bit of shame. There was football on the tv next to the bar and the background music playing wasnt by the original artists?! Bit of a shame as we were looking forward to a nice quiet evening. The food however was very nice my partner enjoyed his sausage and mash but the chips were a let down! Not triple cooked and mainly burnt crispy bits. Meal was a little expensive for two small cups of coffee, one sausage and mash and one steak sandwich. We did have a good nights sleep the bed was very comfy but my partner said he was woken very early by a dripping noise which we think was the central heating coming on. Breakfast is in the restaurant and is a buffet style help yourself with a very good selection of cooked and continental items on offer. Tea and coffee orders are taken as you are seated along with toast. However the ham in the continental section looked very grey and not appealing but the pastries were nice! The views from the restaurant are beautiful its just a shame the outside area isnt landscaped with some seating areas and the old brick outbuilding remains demolished! A lovely stay with friendly helpful staff even the cleaners said good morning which was nice.

    « Nice hotel »

We stayed here for a local birthday party and were well satisfied with our visit. The staff were great and very welcoming and helpful both in Reception and in the breakfast room on the Sunday morning. We did not find the problems that others have reported. The room overlooking the rear was very quiet and clean with all the usual accessories which for the price we were paying, we thought to be very good value. Excellent TV and very hot bath water if a little peaty in appearance! Nice towels and various shampoos etc.. The loo needed some attention to make it flush which was reported to reception. The downside was the size of the bedroom which meant many squeezes to get past each other. Beds comfortable and long enough. I think if a party arrived late for some reason, noise could be a problem as the walls seem quite thin. We didn't try the wifi as to log on meant providing many personal details which I am loathe to do and find an impertinence. The view from the hotel is exceptional on a clear day and though the hotel was full there was plenty of parking. Excellent value for money!

    « 14th out of 16 for a reason »

The sad thing is that I love LEEDS UNITED and have done for 40 years i took my family up there and thought that if I tried a bit harder with the hotel I might swing things my way, I am not saying that this ever was a 6 star hotel but we normally stay at a Lenny Henry one and there alright. The hotel is in a stunning position We arrived on a Friday night and the car park was more or less empty, the receptionist did the least possible to get us in and up we went to our room that was small, one of the bed side lights did not work nor did the WIFI really. The bathroom is also small but passable, Sat Breakfast was alright, We eat in the Hotel that night it was half full at best,[ the locals know its a poor choice and keep away] that night meal was steak and chips Chicken and chips and nuggets and chips , The Chips were proper bad but the other bits were ok , The drinks order was messed up but I overlooked that , The people on the next table also complained about the chips. If this place is a Restaurant and they struggle to make chips what can they do !! Sunday Breakfast was self service [thats fine by me/us] my son got himself a yogurt and then spat it out it was 2 days out of date and warm , I went and had a look they were all out of date and the ham was looking not the best they were both on the side not in cold storage, So I asked one of the staff about this and off he went and got some in date yogurt ,I was angry by now WHY put out of date food out?I asked to speak to a manager but none were available on a Sunday morning surely this is the time your weekend visitors go home and a manage should be available for any problems nope. I emailed them and had no joy from them ....If you got more money than you know what to do with and you fancy loosing a few pounds due to food related illness you will love it. I have travelled across Europe and UK ans always had a better stay than this. next time we will stay in a phone box and order a pizza

The Penine Manor Hotel suited us being at the foot of the Penines. The hotel and the staff were very good.My only critisism the hotel had a lovely restaurant but every body had to eat in the bar at night.Restaurant prices in the bar, food good but restricted choice of meats.

    « Lovely location »

I regularly stay away for work and pleasure - my visit to Pennine Manor was business. The hotel was easy to find, courtesy of good signage locally (and a postcode my TomTom seemed to approve of!). There was also plenty of parking, which is a nice find after a lengthy journey. Having arrived late, I was promptly dealt with on check in by a friendly receptionist. I did have a larger suitcase and unfortunately there's no lift in the hotel, but I was asked if I needed any help with carrying my luggage. The room was a little small, but recently decorated and comfortable. I was quite surprised to find the radiators were on full, on a very mild evening! Having swiftly located the thermostat and opened windows, I checked out the bathroom - small and a little basic but perfectly clean. The shower is operated by two separate taps rather than a mixer, which were quite tricky to blend to a decent temperature. In the morning, I headed down for breakfast - it was very quiet at 7.30 with only two other occupied tables. Cold items were available, with hot food to order - just one for my business trip readers to note; allow a little extra time for your food to be cooked to order. I opted for eggs benedict, which was very tasty. Overall, I wouldn't say I was overwhelmed by PM but it's a lovely, friendly hotel with a homely feel.

    « Can't fault this place »

Superb location with stunning views, a great team of staff and a chef who wows without being pretentious, cosy fire in the bar, pristinely clean and comfortable rooms in fact the whole place is spotless, I just can't fault it at all and there are some fantastic deals to be had especially during weekends.

    « Lovely Location »

Stayed one night whilst in Yorkshire for a family visit. We stayed before some years ago. The hotel does not seem to have changed much. The setting is good with nice views over the moors. We had an evening meal and a few drinks in the bar, the restaurant was not open. The Chef is good turning out a good standard of food. The front of house was run by Reese the barman. He is an excellent member of staff and great with customers. The rooms are nice, beds comfortable and the shower was good. I personally found the dark colour scheme a bit depressing but it is just a matter of personal taste. We had a ground floor room overlooking the car park. There were heavy nets and bushes outside I guess to improve privacy although this is achieved by reducing natural light. We enjoyed the breakfast which we found up to standard for this type of hotel. However I must report that the errant toaster is still in place and giving guests a hard time. Note replace the toaster it is appearing in too many reviews. Like others I don't like their policy of taking £30 on my credit card. I have made a note to check that this has not been taken in addition to my bill. I would go back but the credit card policy would make me look at alternatives.

    « Excellent service »

Our 7 year old daughter suggested Pennine for a meal out as we are getting married here in October. The restaurant was closed so we ate in the bar. We were greeted by Reese (sorry if not spelt correctly) who served us our drinks before showing us to our table. Our daughter wanted pate to start so we asked is they had chicken liver instead of the mackerel pate on offer. Reese checked and try did had the alternative for her. The tomato and basil soup was divine, thought we would try this as that is the starter we have chosen for our wedding. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed her pate. We all had the Pennine burger for our mains which was excellent. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and Reese has appeared to make a lasting impression on our daughter. We are looking forward to returning in October for our wedding.

« Nice Hotel, Disappointing Check-in and Breakfast »

When I booked into the hotel, I was requested a pre-authorisation fee of 164.00, the fee of the room 134.00 plus 30.00 extra. I was told by staff that they were purely checking I had the money in my account and that nothing would be taken till check out. However this was not the case, the money was removed from my account, yet I was still expected to pay 134.00 (cost of the room) on check out. I questioned staff about this, they apologised that it was not initially explained to me properly, but promised the money would be returned within 24hours. after 36hours the money was still not showing in my account, meaning that without me moving money between accounts, I would be left overdrawn. When I returned home I had to go to my bank to question this further, luckily they were able to put the money back into my account. However this was something I shouldn't have need to do, and something that should have been explained to me properly. I was also slightly disappointed with breakfast, both the food and service. We were stood around for sometime waiting to be seated and when we finally sat down, we were left to our own devices, unsure if it was buffet service, or whether food needed to be ordered. Staff did come and ask for our ordered, we asked for a coffee, tea, cheese omelette and eggs Benedict. we were brought the tea, but the coffee was forgotten, and we had to ask twice for the coffee. Which was finally brought to the table, then taken away by another waitress. When the food arrived the poached eggs on the eggs Benedict were under-cooked, and the food was slightly cold. We were not at all impressed with the breakfast, meaning we did not attend for breakfast on our second morning.

    « Nice hotel »

We stayed here for my sisters wedding and the one thing that really stood out for us were the staff. They were so incredibly friendly, nothing was too much too much trouble for them. The restaurant serves lovely, reasonably priced food and if you are a pudding fan like me I can strongly recommend the salted caramel chocolate pudding (OMG!!). We opted for the Breakfast, and it was wonderful!! A huge selection of foods and all very tasty. I wouldnt hesitate to use this hotel again and would personally like to thank and congratulate the staff for going above and beyond their jobs - what a refreshing experience

Nothing too much trouble. Unexpected guests were catered for in minutes! The venue is lovely, our service was in a delightful room with views of the moors behind the registrar's desk. Decorations all handled well, food delicious and the staff bend over backwards to assist. The rooms are all recently refurbished so very nice, views are stupendous. I highly recommend this venue for any kind of function.

    « Excellent value »

Had lunch with a friend I chose the early bird lunch menu as there were quite a few interesting dishes to choose from. (Very reasonable at just £11) We were both more than happy with the service, presentation and quality of our meals. A lovely drive from Denshaw along the New Hey Road to an eatery in a lovely setting and although is part of a large hotel group definitely had a Yorkshire feel to it. Grand.

    « Nice location »

Great location and the rooms were lovely although there are no family rooms meaning you have to book 2 rooms if with children. Breakfast was a major let down with hardly anything out , broken toasters and empty juice jugs. If they offer a travel cot please bear in mind they will try charge you £10 when checking out which they don't mention at booking so take your own, needless to say I refused to pay after not being informed at booking!

    « lovely venue »

We were here for a family wedding and were really pleased with the way the day went. The wedding itself was beautifully overseen by Lauren who did a wonderful job of organising things. The venue was delightful and the food at the function was excellent, even if my chocolate fondant was not gooey it tasted delicious. In the evening the DJ was good and got people up and dancing, however the bar service could have been better considering the number of guests. Our superior room was very comfortable with a beautiful bathroom, bedding and beds excellent quality and very comfortable. The experience at breakfast next day was a different matter. Toasters that take so long you give up, none of the buffet dishes being ready at the same time, only 1 pastry left at 9.00am with half an hour to go and rock hard inedible bread rolls. Very impersonal. One guest was charged for a travel cot despite it being the hotel that suggested putting it in the room (without mentioning cost) they did however get a refund when this was queried, but if you need one do check The one thing I would say is that the reception staff are wonderful and could not have been more helpful The whole experience would have been really very good but was marred by me feeling I had to apologise to friends and family for the disappointing breakfast.

« Sleep and dine review »

We stayed at the Pennine manor with the sleep and dine offer on a Friday night in August and what a great offer . On arrival we were disappointed to be allocated a room without a view and after asking at reception we were immediately moved to an upstairs room with beautiful views overlooking the hills and with a horse family including babies in the field just outside the window . The room was well equipped with tea and coffee facilities , tv , hairdryer etc and nice decor , modern bathroom with a fantastic powerful shower . Dinner was booked at 6.30 and even though staff were getting ready for a wedding on the Saturday they couldn't do enough for us and we're all very friendly and the service was excellent . As for the food WOW! , we have done the sleep and dine at other hotels before but this place blew them away ,everyone of the three courses was fantastic and you get very generous portions , the buffet breakfast the following morning was the same lots to choose from and something for everyone , the only thing I would say is breakfast is only served until 9.30 and as other reviews have said this maybe too early for some people but for us it was fine . Can't wait to come back ..... Keep up the good work .

    « Beautiful Location »

Stayed here for one night and the location is beautiful. Nice hotel, clean and well presented. Don't get room 10 though as it is in front of the cleaning store room and the cleaners didn't care about talking outside our room and their door to the stock cupboard kept clicking. When I complained, that we had been woken up, I wasn't offered any form of compensation and the apology I got from reception sounded quite insincere. Despite being a Sunday, breakfast ends at 9:30 and check out is 11! I think this earlier than other hotels of the same rating and a few people we were with thought it was too early. Apart from this, it is a lovely hotel but having a bedroom right outside the cleaning stockroom/desk let it down.

« FAB HOTEL + STAFF THE REAL JEWEL IN THE CROWN »

We stayed overnight whilst attending a show at a nearby location. This is a warm, homely + friendly hotel. The staff are exceptional, especially so the women on reception - nothing is too much trouble for them. Comfy beds, good quality linen and towels. Free Wifi, large car park, good signs on the approach from Anley Top [just off M62]. For the real luxury traveller, there is a helicopter landing pad as well!! All in all a Best Western at its best and a hotel we would come back to in a heartbeat.

« Got to be the best of the best BEST WESTERN's! »

Stayed here 29th & 30Th July 2016 for a visit to the Land Rover Centre - Huddersfield. The first thing you notice as you drive into the car park is the absolutely stunning location and all round views over the Yorkshire countryside. Checking in was a doddle. The twin room with ensuite bathroom was perfect for a few days get away, very clean, neat and tidy, and the power shower was superb, a minor factor for many, but as far as I'm concerned, the shower is as important as a comfortable bed, and they are very comfortable. The management and staff are very customer orientated, and went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect in every way. A great selection of good Ale, wines and spirits at the bar, and a varied & extensive restaurant menu and wine list, and the standard of food being served was excellent, of which we took full advantage of over the two days of our stay. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable trip, made that much more enjoyable by a great place to stay....... Thanks all.....

« Enjoyable stay for leisure trip »

Located high on a hill just outside Huddersfield this hotel has spectacular views in all directions. Easy access from the M62. But also comfortable rooms with good en-suite bathrooms, though the decoration is probably a bit dated. Restaurant provides a good menu with a mix of standard and more unusual dishes. Breakfast is the normal buffet but other dishes can be requested. We were visiting family and will probably do likewise on future trips. But in winter weather the steep hill up to the hotel (from any direction) could be a problem.

« Fantastic Hotel with great staff »

We stayed with my parents last night on the sleep and dine deal which is an unbelievable £69 per couple. Arrived for drinks approx 3pm and was welcomed at reception and the bar area by the lovely friendly staff. We spent the afternoon in the bar which was cosy and comfortable and had drinks before returning to the room to get changed for dinner. At 6.30 we returned to the bar area for pre-dinner drinks while we checked out the un- restricted menu and decided what to have for evening meal. We sat down to eat at approx 7.30 for a wonderful 3 course meal which was as good as any top class restaurant and very well presented, my husband opted for the fillet steak and I the sea bass and both were delicious. Breakfast was cooked to the same perfection as the evening meal with nothing being too much trouble. I can honestly say that every member of staff we met, spoke to or that served us were so warm and friendly and they really made our day special. Apart from the fantastic deal the staff really make this hotel special and that was said by everyone staying at the hotel that we spoke to in the evening and at breakfast. A big well done to Pennine Manor and your lovely staff we will be back again very soon :-)

This is a superb hotel - the staff are extremely friendly and helpful - just had a fabulous two days - food exceptional, views sublime absolutely lovely. One very minor thing would have like a larger room, but this did not distract from how much we enjoyed ourselves at all xxx

    « Seeing is believing. »

Having arrived at reception as planned I was made aware that there was a problem with my reservation caused by the 'system' however, receptionist Natasha soon had it sorted and I was allocated my room which was comfortable and well appointed. Later that evening I had some refreshments in the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail shown by the staff not just to myself but other diners as well. A comfortable night's sleep was followed by a hearty breakfast and yet again was impressed by the customer service provided by the staff. At check out, I let it be known how delighted I was with my stay and would certainly recommend the Pennine Manor Hotel, Huddersfield to any one wishing to have a relaxing stay in the company of staff that make you feel as if they are there for you and you only, seeing is indeed believing!

    « Nice stay »

We stayed in July just for just one night. We were going to a friends 50th on a Saturday night. The room was nicely decorated and comfy, we ate in the bar for lunch which was just soup and sandwiches again nice but quite expensive. There was a wedding on at the hotel so it was quite noisy. The view from the top of the hill were the hotel was situated was absolutely gorgeous.we would stay again.

« Great Hotel great weekend »

Just had a week end away with friends at the Pennine Manor Hotel. Couldn't fault hotel, staff, service, rooms and food all excellent! Set on tops over Slaithwaite with great views but handy for all local tourist attractions. We went into Huddersfield by train from Slaithwaite station, 7 minutes away by car, as it was easy parking at station than in Huddersfield.

« My recent extended stay. »

As usual, my experience at the Pennine Manor was very pleasing. All of the staff were friendly and efficient. I will stay again for sure. Whether for business or pleasure this hotel is ideal. I have stayed at the hotel several times and have never had a problem, always felt satisfied and am never out of pocket. A very good experience overall.

    « Great value for a good night's sleep »

As many others have commented the views 3 sides of the hotel are stunning. A very imposing looking building, tastefully decorated. My room was very comfortable, all a single traveller needed. Glad the curtains were thick. Query as to why the ensuite window has no blind? Staff on reception were very good, staff in bar/restaurant very efficient and helpful. The salted caramel chocolate tart is fab! Breakfast was a tad disappointing, buffets mean that if you time it wrong things are a little tepid and dried up. Decent selection of stuff. We'll worth another visit

« Old fashioned good service »

Great views, cosy hotel. Comfy beds. I loved the bathroom with the big sink. Shower old but great as it belted out the water for a great shower in the morning. Breakfast was generous and freshly cooked with good sausages and eggs. Toast cereal fruit salad and juices available and a continental breakfast. The staff on reception and in the breakfast room were genuinely friendly and helpful. They were efficient and really helped to create a good atmosphere. I had forgotten we had been to a weeding reception there years ago and I liked it back then too. One thing is a painting in our room which to me... Looked like an owl riding a pheasant apparently my husband thinks I'm on LSD however if you stay you will see what I mean. ??

« A helipad and the best onion rings »

The Hotel is close to the M62 J24 at Ainley Top. On arrival the hotel is surrounded on three sides by a large level car park where there is also a Helipad ideal for the Bell ranger. From the the Hotel there are superb views across the Pennies towards Halifax. My room was on the ground floor and individually furnished including a solid wooden desk separate chair and a small side table. There was a comprehensive hospitality tray various tea's. coffee, chocolate and a bottle of water. The curtains covered the multiple windows and were a good heavy material. The en suite had a double sized shower enclosure, a large mirror and a heated towel rail, although the basin was a bit small, the monogrammed towels were a nice touch. The bar restaurant needed a reservation mid week so was clearly busy, the staff were on the whole friendly, although my main main course arrived with a bit of a thump and no smile or comment. The food it's self was very good and enjoyable. The Breakfast room enjoyed views across the moors and was totally self service. The scrambled egg was of particular note and had been made properly . It's the first time I have stayed here and I will be returning, well done to all, a well presented and thoughtout Hotel

« Great rooms nice situation cheap price »

Stayed here as a Pitstone for shopping g in Leeds and meadowhall in Sheffield. It has lovely views and area just 30 mins to Leeds town centre, the rooms were very nice and bed comfy. We ate in the restaurant . The soup was gorgeous and the main course just ok.. the steak tasted like cow pat smell for some reason.. really strong. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay.

    « Daughters wedding venue »

My husband and I arrived at the Pennine Manor Hotel yesterday to attend our daughters wedding from the moment we were introduced to Mandy who was looking after the arrangements we were confident the day was going to go well. We cannot praise her professionalism enough she gave 110% to make sure every detail was attended to from smuggling the wedding dress in making sure no one was able to see it right down to helping my grandson with his tie! her skills were endless. Throughout the ceremony , the wedding meal and the evening celebration Mandy was there with other staff members making sure the guests were looked after, her enthusiasm never wavered. Exceptional service from Mandy and staff, high standard of food what more could anyone want, a lot of positive feedback from all the guest we certainly will be recommending this venue to family and friends. Thank you to all involved.

« Over night stay for a family occasion in town »

Stayed on Saturday check in very easy and rooms comfortable and cosy. Special winter deal included bed and breakfast with no additional charge. booked two rooms but five rooms in total in our party. Views stunning views, hotel very welcoming with friendly staff. There was a wedding function at the hotel. Out stay was only for somewhere to sleep, as we had a family gathering in the day and an evening spent at a 25th Wedding anniversary meal at discovery bay...Overall a relaxing experience even though we did not get back to the hotel till early hours. Varied selection at breakfast from full English to cold meats. Notices they are offering dine and stay to include three course meal, overnight stay and full breakfast from £69 worth s look..enjoy Would stay again.

Have visited this hotel both to stay and eat over a few years and have always experienced a high level of food and customer service. Staff are welcoming and attentive and the quality of food is always excellent.

« No food service at 3.45pm on a Sunday!! »

Not been here for a while but thought we would try the Sunday lunch, arrived at 3.50pm to be told no more food would be served until 7.00pm. Fair enough didn't check the website prior to calling. Thought it was a bit strange so checked the website and you can book a Sunday lunch upto 4.45pm. I now understand why this place keeps changing ownership but obviously has the same staff providing a poor service! Won't rush back probably no service for food available!

    « Absolutely fabulous! »

After staying at a best western hotel in Scotland which was a disaster we booked into this hotel on the way home. Stayed here before and can only praise the staff, rooms, food and value for money . Bravo Pennine Manor - faultless . Can thoroughly recommend.

« Great staff, shame about the noise »

I stayed here for 1 night on business with my daughter who was tagging along to learn the ropes. We have room 09 which is a twin room. On arrival, the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Check-in was swift and efficient and very soon we were heading off to our room. On entering the room, it was noticeably smaller than I'm used to - I normally stay at Travelodge or Premier Inn, but the facilities seemed OK - kettle, plenty of tea and coffee, hairdryer etc. The views are great from this hotel which is high up on a hill overlooking the countryside. Breakfast was great. I'm lactose and gluten intolerant which makes eating out difficult, but the member of staff in the restaurant was great and checked what I could and couldn't have to eat and soon I was tucking into a freshly made poached egg with bacon, beans and tomato. They even offered to do mushrooms fresh without the butter. Downsides: The bed creaked every time I moved which I believe was down to the waterproof mattress cover they put on the bed, so it took a while to drop off to sleep and woke me up every time I moved. Every person who came back from the bar seemed to want a full on conversation in the corridor before slamming their door and going to bed. The woman in the next room had a knock on her door at 6.30am and the chap then had a full on conversation with her at the top of their voices. There were motorbikes revving their engines at gone 11pm in the car park just outside our room. To be honest, I'm going back to Travelodge and Premier Inn in future where the sound proofing appears to be better.

« A little gem of a hotel in beautiful countryside »

Stayed here for a 1 night business meeting Fabulous spacious rooms , exceptionally clean with lots of storage space. Great food in the restaurant and a hearty breakfast served in the morning. The decor is tastefully done and there is ample parking. Lovely country wals nearby. spectacular views from the hotel.

    « Great Week-End Break. »

We have just had a really good week-end here with friends. The staff were all excellent as were our rooms which we agreed were among the best we've had on our other breaks. The food was excellent as was the service by Nigel the bar manager and the 2 waiters who served us, nothing was too much trouble. It was a shame that the weather couldn't have been better for us as the hotel was covered in mist most of the time but I would definitely recommend for a relaxing break.

    « Just a bar snack. »

Visit with some friends just for a meal in the bar, we found the staff excellent also the food was all we could have wished for. Also the beer was well kept and as I was not driving managed to sample more than one.

    « Good Hotel »

Very good hotel, polite staff, beautiful views surrounding. No other restaurant or shopping around the hotel. Hotel seems in remote place n top of the hill. In winter wind can be heard whole night. The menu and decor need upgrading in the restaurant and bar. Thank you

    « Great Stopover »

We were travelling from South to the Lake District and decided to break our journey. We got an amazing deal. A superior room, an evening meal and full English breakfast for £89 per room. The manageress was lovely with my grandson and the staff overall could not have been more friendly. The food was very good and there was a wide choice. Nice views over Huddersfield and the M 62 ( in the distance!!)

    « Relaxing and Peaceful »

We stayed for 3 nights but would have gladly stayed forever. What a wonderful hotel in a wonderful place. The staff - Nicholas, Mandy, Reece, etc. were wonderful and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfasts and Dinners were top class. Quiet, peaceful, a little out of the way, but within easy reach of Huddersfield if you needed it. Wonderful views from rooms and gardens. Highly recommended. Thank You everyone for making us welcome and looking after us so well. Highly recommended.

« Lovely location, wonderful stafd »

Recently stayed (along with my sister) as we were visiting family locally. Rooms are very well served - a notch or three above standard fare, and in keeping with the building. Reception and breakfast staff were lovely to a man (or woman!) - attentive, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it drizzled the whole time we were there, but I can imagine the views are spectacular!

« Location and staff make this hotel A+ »

Firstly a room with a view. Excellent. Secondly the staff were brilliant, nothing was too much, all wanted to ensure you have a good stay. The room was not the biggest but was clean and had everything you need and the Wi-Fi was great. The food in the bar on an evening was outstanding Then the value, well, you can't beat it.. Will be back. Thank you Pennine Manor

    « Overnight Stay »

Stayed here as a stop over on way to Hull. What a nice hotel with fantastic views, plenty of parking space and even has a H for helicopter ?? Room was very spacious and bright with large flat screen TV and plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits for the room. Spotlessly clean and large modern bathroom with great shower. Food was also very good, some nice meals to choose from and seemed very popular with locals and guests. Restaurant is located within the bar area which also has seating for after dinner drinks and large TV. Staff were so friendly and offered plenty of advice for our stay, they also allow dogs to stay in the ground floor rooms. Would definitely stay again

« Excellent Yorkshire mini break »

My wife and I are Brentford FC supporters. Our team was playing their final match of the season at Huddersfield Town FC so we decided to combine the game with a mini break. The Pennine Manor had good reviews so we decided to stay there for 3 nights. We were not disappointed. We were allocated a ground floor room, which we found to be a little dark(nothing wrong with the room ) just the position of it in the hotel meant there was a lack of natural daylight. We asked to be moved and were told that hotel was full but we could move the following day. This was arranged and we were given a room on the first floor with a stunning view over the countryside. We spent the night in this room.We went out for the day and on our return we found the toilet flush was not working. The staff could not have been more helpful and they immediately moved us again to the Bridal suite for our final night at no extra charge The reception, waiting and bar staff were friendly and efficient. The food was very good, the rooms were clean and tidy and contained a mix of furniture very different from most hotels ( we loved it ).A couple of the waiting staff were Huddersfield Town fans and we really enjoyed chatting football with them. Our team had just won 5-1 and, on us identifying ourselves as Brentford fans, one of the staff , Max, jokingly said "right pack your bags and go " We all had a good laugh and a long discussion about the merits of our respective teams ( we were the only customers dining at that time ). I should like to single out Max for special mention as he was polite, humorous and a great credit to himself and to the hotel. A superb mini break and we will book the Pennine Manor again if we are able to make to trip for football next season. I would not hesitate also to recommend this hotel to supporters of other clubs who may be visiting Huddersfield for the football.

    « So Pretty »

Lovely hotel, rooms are immaculate, very well decorated and stocked with biscuits, water, selection of teas and toiletries. Hotel staff all extremely friendly and helpful. Restaurant is small but inviting, food was lovely and fresh / hot. good selection for breakfast. Would recommend for personal or business stays, lovely scenic views from hotel as up on the hill just off the M62 so easy access.

« A good nights sleep in a nice location »

This hotel is tucked away but you can here the motorway in the distance if you have your window open. I had a great nights sleep from the start in a nice comfy bed. The staff were friendly & helpful, especially the young man in the restaurant at breakfast time. It was nice and quite throughout the night as it was in the morning, there did not seem to be lots of residents. The rooms are a bit on the dark side, but all OK with a 32" flat screen TV, coffee & tea with a couple of biscuits. Bed was king size, probably super king size. Breakfast was a nice buffet style & they cooked my two fresh fried eggs once I asked for them, help yourself to as much as you want. Helipad out the back, if you can afford such luxuries, you would not be staying here, so why is it there ? Would I stay again = Yes, without question.

i fancied a night away so selected this hotel because of the reviews it didn't let me down, from the moment i stepped in the staff made you feel very at ease. i ate in the restaurant in the evening and although there was a birthday party on, the service and food were very good, all in all a very pleasant stay.

    « Quality food »

Called in on the off chance for something to eat, and I have to say,,, the food was amazing,, the service needs looking into,as very poor, maybe the management need to look at re training staff,, the guy behind the bar did not seem to know what he was doing ,, and the waitresses were all just talking in a corner of the room ,, but the quality of the food was second to none,,

« All round great hotel »

We stayed here whilst on a visit to the Holmfirth Vineyards, everything about the place was perfect, from the reception staff to the very courteous waiter in the dining room. Our bedroom was quite spacious, with the most comfy bed I have ever come across during my travels. All this combined with a very enjoyable evening meal in a relaxing atmosphere, made for a very pleasant stay.

    « Lovely nights sleep. »

Stayed here quite a while ago, but just thought I'd say how fab it was to stay here. My partner and I stayed here as we'd been filming late and didnt fancy travelling home when we were filming the next day early. So we booked in here, couldn't have been more than 60 pounds, and breakfast was included. Beautiful, quiet ground floor room with a bath tub! I literally soaked in the bath as soon as we checked in at like 10pm at night! Fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow! Bed was comfy as anything! Had breakfast early in the morning around 8 maybe? It was the best breakfast I'd ever had, but it was nice and did the job. Plus it was included in our room cost so I wasn't that bothered. I got a good cup of tea and that's all I needed. Fabulous overall, I love this hotel and will stay again if I ever find myself in Huddersfield again.

    « Great hotel »

This hotel met all my expectations. The location suited well for work and the surrounding view is lovely. Check in and check out was pleasant and easy, and the room was warm and clean. The restaurant and food, both dinner and buffet breakfast, was very good. This will now be my hotel of choice when working in the area.

    « average budget hotel »

Just returned from three night stay in this hotel. If you have to be in this area for a night then this would do for the price. The hotel is situated quite a distance from Huddersfield and not a pleasant drive due to the high level of traffic in this area.We booked a standard room but was upgraded to the next level after complaining about the size and darkness in the basic room. The new room was ok . Breakfast on the first morning was a buffet with the usual congealed mess in serving trays, tea and coffee was available from vacuum flasks and tasted as it sounds. On the second morning the systems had changed a menu was available the food was freshly prepared ,we enjoyed a very nice meal complete with tea in a pot which is available on request . Morning three back to the buffet system. If you use this hotel and do not mind asking for the basics then you will do ok personally I find this hard work.We did have a couple of other problems during our stay so when the receptionist asked if we enjoyed our stay we informed her of the shortcomings we experienced. We would not go back to this hotel but must add that the restaurant staff were very nice possibly let down by systems dictated by head office.

« Wedding at Pennine Manor »

My husband and I got married at Pennine Manor on 2nd April 2016 and the whole day was fantastic. The staff (particularly Mandy) couldn't do enough to help. The work they put in to decorating the rooms, serving the guests and helping to make sure everything ran smoothly couldn't have been bettered. All of the guests commented on how lovely the location and hotel were and how delicious (and plentiful) the food was. Would like to say a massive thank you to Mandy and all of the staff, we couldn't have wished for a better team to help us with our special day! X

« Family party and overnight stay »

We stayed at Pennine Manor for one night on the occasion of a family party. Our room was very clean and comfortable and nicely fitted. We had a superior room although the bed was a regular double while some family members were in standard rooms with a king. We did have a large bathroom and room for two cots. I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant and food were very good and the staff made the family event run smoothly. I would certainly stay again and recommend the hotel.

« Excellent value and lovely food »

We have stayed here on the Sleep & Dine deal a couple of times and it's superb value for money. The food is first class. I had smoked salmon to start, duck and then a gorgeous salted caramel chocolate pie. The staff are friendly too.

Room nice and comfy but Sat Nav didn't locate the actual hotel. We had to phone for further directions once the Sat Nav trold us we had arrived - er no we hadn't. We had to get to the breakfast via a room set up for a wedding party which seemed a bit odd but breakfast was great

    « Very Pleasant Stay. »

My wife and I had 2 nights here on11/3/16. We booked the DB&B rate in a superior room and felt this was excellent value. On the Friday night Nick explained that we could choose starter, main & dessert from the Al a carte menu and I must say the choice and quality of the food was fantastic. On the Saturday there was a wedding on so it was a little busy in the bar when we went down for Dinner but we were greeted by Nick who explained that the wedding guests would be moving into the the other room so once they moved out we sat down to dinner. Once again the food was excellent and I would also recommend the house champagne as it is very dry and tasteful. The room was very clean and tidy with a good selection of refreshments including 2 bottles of water. There was a slight problem with the bill (evening meal was on there when it was included in the rate) when I came to pay but this was quickly sorted while we went in for breakfast. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes I would, the staff are friendly the hotel very clean and the views on a clear day are fantastic.

    « Very nice surprise »

Tired after driving all day, seemed to go round in circles getting off the motorway but the sat nav brought me safely to the hotel. Great welcome from reception and then given a wonderful renovated room. Comfortable bed. Spotless bathroom with large bath and powerful shower. Nice supply of towels (bath towel a little on the small side). One of the best refreshment trays I have seen - judge yourself by the photo. Enjoyed dinner on a Wednesday evening - the place seemed quiet so service was quick and easy. Buffet hot and cold breakfast very satisfactory. Only niggle was the demands made to access free wifi - far too much personal information requested. Silly really - when I see such a long list of requirements I'm sure I'm not the only one that makes the data up. Really enjoyable stay.

    « A lot better now »

A nice "country" hotel, set upon a high landscape, with glorious views of Yorks, The hotel is easy to find, Now run by Best Western, and offers good value for money. The rooms are warm, if small, good toilet & bath room, coffee & tea facilities on offer, nice friendly bar with huge gas fire, in fact it was too warm, the bar offers snacks, Breakfast is 7.30 to 9.30. A buffet style good whole some food, with polite friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble for them, Reception check in & out was speedy. All in all a good stay, would use again.

« Serves food not people »

My wife booked a table online Saturday at approx 2pm for us and my parents. Having not received a conf e mail she phoned at 5 30 and receptionist conformed the reservation for 7pm. We arrived punctually. The opening comment from the Maitre'D was that we weren't on the list. My wife explained the online booking and subsequent call. The man said well I don't understand what has happened but we are full and I can not give you a table in the restaurant until at least 7 30 so you will have to wait!!!!! No sense of apology for his employees mistake We then had to wait whilst another couple was served drinks before ordering oursWe sat in the bar with our drinks awaiting our table in the restaurant A waiter came over at 7 20 and said "you can push these tables together". Or I can do it so he pushed some tables together and evidently our somewhat grubby or at least sticky table in the bar in full blast of the fire appeared to have been set. "Let's go with it we are hungry" Cutlery was piled up at one end. Waiter said there are 2 steak knives in there for those having steak. We distributed our own cutlery. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT I went to the bar after the second course asked to settle and the Maitre D passed me a bill with food and drink on and I settled and disappointingly for me could not justify any level of a tip. He did not volunteer but I asked re our booking and he conceded that it was on the system but that they have @ email addresses and the receptionist had not passed it on. STILL NO APOLGY about us ending up on sticky tables in the bar pushed together As we were finishing our drinks a card stapled to some paper was passed to us by one of the waiters with no words of explanation so assuming it was a contact card or satisfaction survey I put it in my wallet. We are never coming back here. These people are idiots and what a shame when the food is so good. We were driving from the car park when the maitre D blocked our exit and upon winding down my window he told me that there is an outstanding bill. I explained that I had just paid the bill with him to which he said no the drinks are separate which I knew to be incorrect as I had observed some drinks on the chitty before settling just 10 minutes earlier. My wife had my wallet, she located the receipts and noted the item in question which was a bottle of rose that due to incompetence had not been coordinated with our bill. She also noted and told the lovely man that actually EVEN thIS bill was wrong as she had ordered a house rose at £13 not the item at £18 I am sorry to say that having sat through a Basil Fawlty performance in what should have been a treat for my parents, I lost my rag through the window. JC this has been S (pooh) service As I left my vehicle. I gave him 20 quid and insisted he returned with the correct change which he was about to do before taking Umbridge at my outburst. His retaliation was because of my language and a threat to call the police notwithstanding I offered an apology for my language which he would not accept in fact he told me that 1 I am barred 2) If I want my change I need to follow him inside I am pleased that the big man did not call the police because actually the boys in blue have far more important issues to be dealing with at 9 30 on a Saturday night versus a minor altercation in a restaurant with a good chef surrounded by imbeciles In summary We used your online system for a table in the restaurant Without a confirmed e mail we telephoned in advance to ensure all was good We arrived as strangers (non residents) We were told we had to wait for a table You took our order in the bar and by default you made us eat there. At least you put the tables together realising that it's not the paying customers responsibility FOOD WAS NICE - You can't keep all the bills for a single table together which is incompetent You chased us down the car park Your maitre D has issues We have been barred for use of word meaning pooh Happy Mother's Day

    « ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC SERVICE »

I have stayed at the hotel a few times. But this one time my car got stuck in the snow and the 4 absolutely amazing ladies helped me get my car out. Seven star service for each one of the 4 ladies. Thanks a million!!! I will most definitely be returning again and again and again. The view from the breakfast room is just great. I am sure in the summer one can enjoy the patio too

Weather you arrive by car coach or helicopter this hotel is brilliant. The staff are ridiculously helpful. The place is very clean and the food excellent. The views are outstanding and it feels like you are out in the middle of no where, but in actual fact you are about 7 mins from Huddersfield city centre. This hotel would suit family's,couples, groups or business users.

Went to the hotel with 20 friends to celebrate a friends birthday on the sleep and dine package , the hotel is fabulous, had a great night , the rooms are great and of a very high standard , the staff can't do enough for you and the food is superb, you just can't get better value for the price , if I had one negative it would be that if you are a smoker then I would say wrap up warm as the smoking facilities are none existent if they had a smoking shelter then my rating for this hotel would be 10/10

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for valentines day. The hotel put on a package over the valentines weekend which included a 3 course meal - a nights stay and breakfast for £99. We opted to pay an extra £10 for the superior room and it was well worth it. The place itself is gorgeous! Surrounded by countryside & with stunning views especially on a crisp Winter morning like we had. The room was perfect, cosy & well decorated / very country like. With a lovely clean bathroom! They definitely added the small details when decorating which stood out. We also had bathrobes and slippers which just made it extra special. The staff were so nice, polite and talkative- we've stayed at many hotels before where staff have barely said hello, but here they couldn't do enough. Unfortunately as we were so tired & had brought snacks to our room we didn't have breakfast in the morning, instead we spent a couple more hours in bed - I must point out the headboard on the bed was stunning! & the bed was the comfiest we've stayed in. Overall I would definitely recommend The Pennine Manor to anyone coming this way - especially since its a 5/10 minute drive from the M62 Thanks for such a great time!

    « Fantastic food!!! »

We came to the Pennine Manor on one of the most recent Wedding Open evenings. We were late arriving as I had just got back from London but the staff were more than happy to show us around and talk through the wedding packages before leaving for the evening. We decided to stay for a meal after and am so glad we did. After a long day we both had a 3 course meal and both meals and each course was spot on. Whilst we didn't stay over, we were shown the rooms as part of the tour of the building for the wedding evening and the rooms were beautifully decorated and looked very comfy. Friendly staff and fantastic food, and certainly looks promising for a wedding booking from ourselves.

We got married here. So we wanted to stay for our first anniversary. Lovely warm greeting. Perfect. Room stunning, clean, warm, and the new bathroom lovely. Food hot. Well presented. Serve brilliant. Cosy few drinks in the bar. Great nights sleep while it snowed outside. Breakfast. Yum yum yum. Would recommend to anyone. Mandy as a great team of staff. Nothing is to much.

In Winter or Summer, this hotel offers spectacular moorland views. Very comfortable rooms and excellent service. Outstanding value. The food is very good with a wide choice and locally sourced products. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for two nights in December in the family suite. It was a comfortable room but not the largest i've stayed in. The radiator wasn't working so i went to the reception and they gave us an electric heater which didn't keep the room very warm throughout the stay. It would have been nice to have been offered a different room to stay in for the inconvenience and having a 16 month old child but this wasn't offered. The power shower however was amazing!! Must have been the highlight of our stay here. Brilliant water pressure and money well spent!! Overall a lovely hotel in a gorgeous location but because the radiator was broken i don't think we were given enough options by staff.

« Superb service, room and price »

I arrived late on a Sunday, having received a call to confirm the visit as it was getting late and they wanted to check I was ok. My arrival was processed quickly and I was allocated a decent room which was easily accessed. It was very smart, immaculately clean and had a lovely bathroom. I enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant in the morning feeling rested after a decent sleep. This is a place to revisit.

    « Brilliant Place »

We are regular visitors to the Pennine Manor Hotel, especially at Christmas, we have been with all the family every 26th December for a number of years. We visited again on Boxing Day 2015 all 16 of us ranging from a 1 year old to an 86 year old, so when I say they cater for all ages, they really do.... It's a fabulous venue, the setting, the food and the wonderful staff just what we needed after a hectic Christmas Day. We will be back in 2016 Thanks to Mandy and the staff for looking after us so well...

« Fab New Years Eve »

Thank you to Mandy and her staff for a great evening. From checking in to checking out I cant think of anything which could be faulted. Our room was tastefully decorated and lovely and clean, the bathroom was ideal and had a lovely deep bath and powerful shower. Some people have said the rooms are a bit small, and I have to say I tend to agree. However, as we were only there for one night it was perfectly adequate and met all our needs. The gala dinner started off with a complimentary glass of champagne served by three glamourous show girls. This was followed by the casino which was great fun as we were all provided with free chips and the prize at the end of the evening was a bottle of fizz for the person who accumulated the most chips. The food during the gala dinner was served hot and well presented on the plates, to say the chef and his team were catering for so many the food was delicious. Ive never seen a portion of cheese and biscuits so big, we thought it was for two of us to share, but no we had one each.! At midnight the balcony doors were open and we could stand outside and see the fireworks across the whole of Huddersfield and beyond. Throughout the night Mandy was checking that we had all we needed and even told us the bar would be closed for 10mins prior to midnight so that the bar staff could take a well deserved rest. The bucksfizz breakfast was superb with everything you needed, including cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt, smoked salmon , scrambled eggs as well as a full English breakfast. There was plenty of tea, coffee and hot toast. I didn't catch the name of the lady who was in charge of serving breakfast, but she is a wonderful credit to the hotel, nothing was too much trouble for her, we were the last to leave following breakfast, and we weren't rushed and felt we could have stayed longer if we had wanted. When we checked out Mandy was on hand to check we had had a good stay and everything had been ok. It certainly was and I would defiantly recommend the Pennine Manor to friends and family, so much so I am trying to persuade my husband that we go for Valentine's Day. Overall a fantastic stay and a big thank you to all the staff at the Pennine Manor.

    « A nice cosy hotel »

This is a purpose built hotel and it works well. It seems to specialise in functions such as weddings. Food - dinner was good. Breakfast a decent English and Continental buffet. Eggs had gone rubbery and the black pudding could have been in a better state but overall nice, bacon and sausage good. Cleaning services very good. Rooms only adequate in size, a definite squeeze even before the need to fit the extra bed in. Reception welcoming. Really good views over the tops. very exposed in gale conditions which we were lucky enough to experience. Claims free wifi - would not open in our room because we were in a far corner room but did nearer reception.

    « A Christmas to Remember »

We were fortunate to stay in this hotel for two nights over Christmas, suffice to say, it was one of the best Christmases ever - all due to the staff at this superb hotel. The manager, Mandy couldn't do enough to help make your stay enjoyable ably assisted by her superb staff, they were all so friendly and helpful. The food throughout our stay was first class, even though they were catering for large numbers, the quality and presentation was excellent.. The rooms, though small, were comfortable and very clean. The hospitality tray was well stocked and replenished each day. All in all, a fantastic stay and I hope to visit again in the near future!

had a family meal here on Boxing Day then stayed for 2 nights in the hotel. The carvery was excellent but also an a la carte menu available fo those who didn't want that. Staff, although busy were helpful and attentive as usual and sounded as though they valued our custom. Breakfast staff were equally nice and helpful and the choice for breakfast couldn't be bettered.. From check in to check out I have nothing but praise for both food and staff., There was a free buffet in the bar on Sunday night.

    « A wonderful place »

There is only one word to describe this hotel AMAZING. We came to spend Christmas here and from check in to check out we felt like royalty. The staff are wonderful not a miserable face among them. The food is just fantastic and the service is just brilliant. Our room was quiet and oh so comfortable i was asleep before my head hit the soft pillows. i cannot recommend this hotel enough of you want to be pampered and made to feel special this is the place to go. i can only give 5 stars but i give them with the greatest of pleasure. Thankyou very much

    « Christmas meal »

Really disappointing Christmas meal. Turkey tasted like Bernard Matthews re constituted meat. Vegetables were like bullets, and I wouldn't know we're to start to describe the potatoes..Also there was not enough on the plate, I was still hungry. Service was very difficult for the young staff as they could not reach all parts of the table. Therefore relied on us to pass the plates etc. Can't review rooms as didn't stay over,

« Probably the best place to stay in Huddersfield »

There are a few hotels in Hudds but this has great rooms a decent restaurant and the staff were excellent. For a large hotel the place feels very friendly and comfortable. Modern room, good bathroom. Also helps that I got a great rate for the room!

Would just like to thank all the staff who worked so hard to ensure my daughter's wedding went off brilliantly last weekend. The venue was superb. Special thanks to Zoe, Mandy and Nicholas who worked tirelessly and incredibly cheerfully for hours. Nicholas also sorted out an "off menu" meal for my young nephew on the Friday night when also dealing with another large party. That was much appreciated. Thanks again to all.

    « Christmas Party »

The first time I've been to the pennine manor hotel after hearing so much about this place over many years. It really is an isolated spot that seems to add to the charm of the place, it's December and the weather was bleak outside but the hotel was cozy and warm so it didn't matter. We were attending a Christmas party and decided to stop I've the night too. The room was very nice, a little compact but it was cozy, comfortable, well presented and the bed was spot on. The food, drink and accommodation was very nice and we enjoyed our stay here. This hotel / venue / restaurant / bar has a great reputation and we would recommend this place

My room was clean, comfortable, quiet, with everything you need for a decent nights sleep, we ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent the staff helpful and although the drinks were slow in coming we were there at bang on opening time. The prices were reasonable as you would expect in a restaurant/hotel. Would return in future.

    « Christmas Party »

Visited the Pennine Manor Hotel for our work's Christmas party and had a great time. Although it is a bit out of the way the hotel was lovely and the views were absolutely amazing. The staff on the whole were friendly and helpful, apart from a young man I encountered on my way to breakfast who was a bit rude. The room for our party was a bit small for the number of tables they squeezed in, but it was still a nice room. We ate from a Christmas menu which had a nice selection of seasonal dishes. The food was very tasty and good portions. The drinks were very well priced for a hotel, being a little more than you would pay in any pub. I stayed overnight sharing a twin room with a colleague. The room again was quite small but it was nicely decorated and felt cosy. My only issue with the room was that the central heating seemed to make a strange ringing sound which went on all night. Overall I enjoyed my stay at this hotel but due it being so far from anything, I doubt I would go again unless for a specific function.

    « A good dining experience »

Attended a private function in the restaurant.Although the hotel is quite distant from the town it is well signposted when you reach Outlane ,The restaurant staff were friendly and efficient and the food from the selective and pre ordered menu was nicely prepared and presented. The weather was terrible on the day so we were unable to enjoy the views I had read about but this is a good excuse to return at a later date.

    « Superb! »

This is our third visit to the Pennine Manor on the sleep and dine package. The place is faultless. The rooms are clean and most of the bathrooms have been recently refurbished. The staff are very friendly on reception especially Tanja . The bar and restaurant are lovely and cosy and finally the food is AMAZING!!!! Nicholas, the guy in charge of the restaurant, is fantastic. His customer service is impeccable and nothing is too much trouble for him. As we were leaving this morning, we booked again for February.

    « Excellent stay »

Spent two nights at this hotel and was thoroughly comfortable and satisfied with everything. The hotel is a little distance from Huddersfield but is in a spectacular spot with wonderful views from all sides. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. Our room was fine and the bed particularly comfortable. On one evening we dined in the bar and the standard of the food and its presentation was excellent. We would certainly return when we are in the area again.

« A beacon of light near Hudders »

I work regularly in Huddersfield, and this is my hotel of choice. It's properly in the Pennines - the wind might keep you up in a storm, but the views on a good day are wonderful. The staff are earnest and really take pride in making you feel welcome and at home. The breakfast is great - they could do with stocking in some real yoghurt and coffee - but small gripes given the overall quality. The restaurant is surprisingly good - I've included images of eggs Benedict at breakfast on gluten free rolls and bruschetta on gluten free bread!

« Amazing wedding, brilliantly coordinated »

My husband and I got married at the hotel in October. We simply cannot fault any aspect of the day. Mandy and Michaela went over and above their duties in the run up to the day to ensure we were at ease and that our plans would play out perfectly. From the first-rate service, to the food, to the bedrooms and so much more, we wouldn't change a thing. Our advice to any couples considering wedding venues - do not overlook this gem sat up in the hills. I cannot thank the team enough - our wedding was even more perfect than I could ever have imagined.

    « Wedding Venue »

Wow! Had our wedding reception there yesterday and was so impressed by the staff, service, venue and organisation there that I'm writing this review on our mini honeymoon! The food was first class, the venue outstanding and the staff, particularly the wedding coordinator and her assistants, were outstanding. Our day was truly magical and all our guests said what a wonderful wedding and venue it was. Thank you for making our day so special.

« We just love this place »

This little hotel has everything you need, great location, amazing views, fantastic food and excellent service. The team are so helpful and accommodating. A group of us stayed again for the Sleep and Dine package, which is an absolute bargain by the way. It was our friends surprise 50th and the team did everything they could to accommodate all our requests. They had a wedding on the same night, but the team still managed to give us all the attention we needed and the food was amazing. Don't worry about choosing the sleep and dine package, just because it's not expensive it doesn't mean the food or service is any less quality. We loved our stay and this is the 3rd year we have visited this Hotel, and we will be visiting again soon. Before I sign off, big shout out to Mandy the Hotel manager, she's brilliant, so personable and sets a great example to her team. Thank you for an amazing weekend.

« Sleep & Dine was great value and all the staff are so friendly and helpful »

We decided at short notice to try Pennine Manors Dine and stay last Sunday evening, WOW! we were not disappointed on a Sunday evening it is £69 for Bed/ Breakfast and 3 course la carte evening meal. We arrived late afternoon and decided to have a few drinks in the comfortable bar area My husband had real ale which was £3.20 a pint and I had Prosecco which was served in the little bottles ( 2 Glasses ) for £6.95 which we both thought was really good value, so stayed and had a couple more. We then went to the lovely newly decorated room to get ready for the evening meal. The Bed was very comfortable, flat screen TV, hairdryer and tea, coffee, choc making facilities and with a lovely bathroom. The evening meal was lovely and of a high standard and large portions and we were very surprised to find there was no limitations on the menu while on the sleep & dine. The breakfast next day was great and all the hot items were hot and cooked again to a high standard with plenty of choice, and items replenished within minutes. The one thing that stood out about this hotel more than anything else was the lovely staff who were all really helpful and friendly and this really made us want to go back again soon. Thank you Pennine Manor for a lovely evening we will be back :-)

The staff were extremely helpful and always had a smile on their face. All in all a brilliant over night stay.

    « Weekend visit »

Attended pennine hotel at a family wedding, what a surprise after a very steep hill and a lovely drive through rural Huddersfield to be met with a lovely well decorated hotel with comfortable beds. Wedding meal was exceptional, better than some local restaurants and hotels I stay in with my work. Value for money was good, drinks very reasonable and service on the bar was fast and professional. Did spend a lot of time at the bar !!! Only downfall was that we were lost at breakfast with no direction. Left to fend for ourselves, but cooked food again was good.

Stayed a couple of nights whilst a friend was over from the US, the rooms are well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. Did not eat at the hotel as was working unsociable hours. Most amazing view and a real treat to take a walk around the local area when the weather is nice.

Called in for a meal. 6.30pm and the place was empty. Asked for a table for two to be told there was a wedding next day and they were only serving people staying there. Tried the week before and couldnt get in as wedding took over the whole place

Followed a personal recommendation from a local friend to go for a great Sunday Lunch at the Pennine, an up and coming hotel.now part of Best western. Me and my 3 guests thought the Food was good, service from staff was very good even though the restaurant was quiet. Attentiveness was still seen without been over powered by staff and service. Not rushed and the timings were ideal with a ten minute break between main course and desserts. Desserts were very good and tasty. Thanks to our Host Nick, and Daniel our server who was very good. Made our special lunch worth while,

« A meeting with friends , Sleep and dine Sunday offer »

We arrived after a long tiring journey to meet our friends in the bar, from our arrival to service with our evening meal we felt like we were the only ones staying at the hotel, service in afternoon when ordering Drinks and snacks was exceptional Nick pampered my wife and I, make sure we were warm as the main bar door was open, he explained that dinner would be served in the Bar due to numbers, but he would serve our evening meal in the restaurant if we preferred, but he sold the warm comfortable bar and the exceptional menu to my friends and I. Nick even came to wish us a good , enjoyable evening and to introduce our manager for the evening which I believe was Lee, again service good and warm welcome. A very good value for money for the sleep and dine, and good choice of food and wines.

My wife and I decided to re visit this love,y hotel for the sleep and dine, as always good value for money, hotel looks very nice after the best western input also the decoration and refurbishment of bedrooms since outlast visit, It was also nice to see a Menu change but pleases there was not a change in staff, we were both so pleased when we were locked after off nick once again a breath of fresh air, chatty and professional always makes conversation. Attentive , most of all nothing we wanted or asked for phased him, and the team. A big thanks until our re visit.

Even though I work at the hotel I must say I have never eaten in the restaurant on a Sunday as do work weekends, but Sunday 4th October I had the pleasure of attending a family members 85th birthday meal and I must say the food was absolutely gorgeous, we all chose to go for the 3 course Sunday lunch, and only 1 out of the 10 of us managed to empty our plates!! If you are hungry then this hotel is a must!! Inexpensive. Very fullfilling, and smiles all round from our birthday bunch!! Proud to be part of the pennine team,,

    « Fantastic staff & beautiful surroundings »

I was Maid of Honour at my best friend's wedding at Pennine Manor on Saturday 3rd October 2015. I stayed with my husband and daughter for two nights & the room was lovely, even though we had an extra bed put in our room for our daughter it was still spacious, it had everything needed & was extremely comfortable. The buffet style breakfast was plentiful and hot too, catering for everyone's tastes. The staff were amazing, so helpful, in particular Mandy who could not do enough for us & the rest of the wedding party - she put the Bride at ease with her calm "can do" attitude and she was so lovely, warm & friendly too.
