Best Western Plus Downtown Inn & Suites

This is by far the absolute greatest Best Western I have stayed at. Staff was extremely friendly! Rooms were so clean and smelt fresh and clean! Breakfast was outstanding! They literally had ANYTHING you wanted, we had so many options… eggs, sausage links, egg/cheese biscuits, chicken biscuits… not just waffles, but had French toast! Assorted cereals, fruits and baked goods… I mean, this was the highlight of my stay! Beds were perfectly soft and comfy! Would 1000% recommend!

The staff are awesome!!! Clean, nice rooms. Pleasant experience. The manager and all staff are great. They have a big breakfast selection and nice open area for sitting and gathering. Free parking and good security. Stayed here many times.

Absolute best experience ever. Everyone was so kind and helpful from the check in experience to check out. Professionalism incredible. Extremely clean. Great location. I was at peace the entire visit while attending a funeral in Houston.

Best is really the best way to describe this hotel. The best staff, the best rooms and the best food. I would highly recommend this hotel! We were there for a family event and it was made more enjoyable by the staff and service of this hotel.

This hotel exceeded given location and not always a name associated with high end. Parking is protected after 8pm and guest services were always sweet. Bed was very comfortable. Room was nicely big. Water and facial wipes were a bonus. No charge for them.

I stayed at this hotel 4 nights in the past 2 weeks in 3 different rooms. All were very clean and comfortable. Surface parking was convenient and of course free, unlike most of the hotels within downtown, and being just on the west side of I-45 from downtown, it is just as conveniently located if you don't plan to walk to your destination from your hotel. The free breakfast is what you expect from this type hotel and was well stocked and kept clean.

This hotel is very nice. The hotel room was super clean and had a lot of extra amenities. The hotel is in a great spot. The parking lot is fenced in and has security at night. We will definitely use this hotel again.

I'm very glad to be back to this place, as it's very clean and professionally operated. They are head and shoulders above the similar price class properties in the area. It's a downtown motor inn, but your parking place comes with your room rent. The property is young and they have kept it clean, and looking new. They have in-room safes, which has grown to be very important, at least to me. For anyone carrying electronics, this convenience feature makes in and out much easier. Since no property anywhere will be responsible for valuables, having a place in my room to lock them up brings extreme value. . My room also included fridge, microwave oven, and a bottle opener just like in the 60's. Their breakfast is much better than similar competing brands. They've had scrambled eggs, real bacon and sausage, waffles and pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, every kind of bread for toast, and cereals, milk and juices. All of it is nicely presented in a un-cramped serving space, and a real pleasure to eat with them. Their elevator shakes going up, and even though I doubt it's unsafe, it's still rattles the nerves a little bit. On every door is a sign that says “no pets policy,” which leaves me wondering what kind of property includes insurance for someone's pet The desk staff, kitchen staff, and maintenance have been courteous and accommodating. The general manager, Erica Gonzales is usually on the desk during the daytime, and is a most accommodating host. At night you'll have to show your room key to get into the parking lot. Their landscaping is very beautiful, and they do have a smaller pool including a water feature. At night the place is lighted well, and they are maintaining the bulbs. I would guess the property is not yet 10 years old, but they are doing a great job of keeping it looking new. The furniture, fixtures, towels and sheets were in tip top condition. The floor coverings were clean and not worn at all. I particularly appreciate the light switches with the pilot lights in them as every guest room should have pilot lights. In total darkness to find the light switch can be very frustrating without them. They offer a single-computer business center with printer and fax, but they didn't have any postage stamps for sale. There is no convenience store anywhere close, but they do have a pantry with a few frozen meals out of sight, requiring one ask them. Since all BW properties are privately owned, quality is not consistent from hotel to hotel. This one shines brightly, and criticisms are few. I've been here several times, and I am still coming back because of value. The edge of the central business district is a mere 5 blocks to the east, and the neighborhood is safe to walk it. It's easy-on and easy-off of I-45 with no access hassles of any kind. I'd recommend the place to anyone looking for this class lodging, and I'll be back.

My stay was short. It was a business trip but I had my daughter and my son with me. Jin at The front was super nice and very informational. Most of the time when you go to a hotel, you don't sleep very well because it's not your own bed. It was very comfortable and I actually slept very well. Which It is a big deal for me to say. Breakfast was delicious and a variety of different things to eat to accommodate each person. Jin at the front desk, you were awesome! Thank you!!

I had to spend a night at this place recently while traveling for work. I was very impressed with the friendly, helpful and professional woman who checked me in. The room was a really nice size little suite. Everything was very clean. That's the first thing I require at a hotel (cleanliness). The second thing I really need is a quiet room. This room was both and very comfortable. WiFi was much better than usual at hotels (over 100 mbps both up and down). The breakfast buffet was good too. A nice mix of items that were tasty. They have a coffee bar that open 24/7. Parking is free. Frankly, I'll stay here again because it had everything I like when I stay in a hotel.

By far and away the most conveniently easy hotel in downtown Houston. Unheard of free overnight parking, free WiFi, complimentary bottled waters, and free unlimited hot breakfast. Wonderful, responsive staff; expedient service.

This hotel is hands down DELIVERS! It is pristinely clean, best FREE breakfast I've ever enjoyed at any hotel. The staff is always friendly, ,kind and helpful. This is the only hotel I will stay in when visiting Houston.

I was aware this is a pretty basic hotel, but it still fell below expectations. Specifically: the toilet didn't work properly. We pointed this out to a person on the desk but it was never properly fixed. It meant we had to leave the room and use another toilet. Not ideal, especially at night.

Free breakfast had a good choice of foods. Close to downtown. Security in parking lot at night made us feel safe about our vehicle overnight. Front desk associate was nice and helpful. Room was clean.

This is my 2nd stay at this property in 5 years and you can tell these guys consistently provide a great experience when staying in downtown ! Andrew Leslie and Erica provided top notch customer service , as well as everyone else . The rooms was great, everything was nicely stocked and very very clean ! The breakfast was amazing , we didn't get to use the pool but it looked very inviting that next time we definitely will ! We stayed there for a concert In Toyota center and the location could not have been any better, just a 5 min Uber drive there . Location was great, we went to the Verde Garden bar which was just a couple minutes down from the hotel . I slept like a baby , hotel was really quiet and safe for being in downtown . 10/10 will always come back whenever we have more events in downtown

Only drawback was location. Not really any restaurants or fast foods around. Everything else was good. Front desk was super getting our rooms ready when we arrived early. Would recommend this hotel based on cleanliness and super nice staff..

The hotel and staff were great. Breakfast was also great, just could have been a change in the variety of the items, but overall, still great; bedding was also comfortable. Had security in the parking lot after hours.

We loved our stay here! We stayed one night to go to Minute Maid Park! From our first walk in the door to leaving, the staff was great! We loved that they had security to make sure everything was safe coming into the hotel along with them blocking off parking for people not staying there. Loved seeing the security guard there. Gave me a sense of safety staying there!

I wouldn't consider this "downtown", and it was a little pricey. But I would definitely stay here again! The breakfast was good and everything was very clean. The front desk people were polite and helpful.

Hotel exceeded our expectations. Staff was great help resolve a minor issue with tv remote very quickly. Pool was awesome. Great location with free parking and hot breakfast was included. Will definitely stay again.

Everything you need for a stay downtown. Restaurants in walking distance, but you'll need a car or Uber for much else. Hotel is comfortable and quiet, staff are friendly, rooms are spacious and the shower works! It was very hot, over 100 degrees, but the room was nice an cool and the aircon was quiet.

I had the best stay ever. The hotel was way more than I expected. Great customer service. From the moment you step into the hotel you feel at home. I will 100% recommend and will surely return back when ever I am in Texas.

The most amazing customer service I have ever experienced and I travel extensively. Our car check engine light was on and they directed us to a mechanic. They let us extend our stay last minute and the food and service was exceptional. Honestly they helped us out when we needed it the most. I will be back and am so grateful to the entire team !!! Thank you. Erica was a shining star in our lives !!!

My family and I drove our EV from Austin to Houston. We had done this before and had trouble finding a hotel that had an EV charger. This hotel has two Tesla chargers and one non-Tesla charger. The charge speed is medium - after charging it over night it was nearly 100% and we drove a bit in Houston and then back to Austin without needing another charge. They had a security guard in the parking lot over night. Staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The central location is great. We will definitely stay here again.

Cleans rooms, friendly staff, quiet, and very nice breakfast. We were in town to see the Billy Joel show at Minute Maid Park. We thought it may be walking distance, however, it didn't look safe near the interstate. We used Uber for a reasonable price. Nice room but pricey.

We stayed here for a Girl's Weekend because it was close to Downtown/Midtown where all the bars, restaurants and shops would be close enough for a mini Uber ride. We weren't planning on spending much time there and were pleasantly surprised with how spacious the rooms were along with the cleanliness of the entire hotel. The staff was super helpful and the breakfast had a pretty selection as well. Beds were comfy too. A++ in my book!

Andrew on the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed chatting to him as we passed by and he went over and above to made us feel at home. Location is a little odd but once you get your bearings and realise downtown is right behind you, it's much easier to get around.

I call this hotel a hidden gem for the Downtown Houston area. Great view of the skyline and easy access to the Downtown and midtown restaurants, bars and sports arenas. One of the few hotes in the area that was on site parking with out a fee!

Everything was lovely including the girl at the front desk. Breakfast has tos of options. Only downside was having to smell my husbands #2 since there are no air vents in the bathroom. Bring something to spray lol!

I selected this hotel for a brief, one night stay for business travel after reading the positive reviews. Can confirm that this hotel, indeed, is a delight. Very clean inside and out even though it's in the middle of downtown Houston. The staff were helpful and friendly. The king bed room I had was huge with ample amenities and the bed itself was great sleeping. Also, i was surprised and happy with how quiet it was. The free morning breakfast provided a large offering of food and was constantly kept supplied. Would definitely stay here again and kudos to hotel staff, including the housekeepers who also were friendly!

Our overall stay experience was trouble free and enjoyable. It was near everything we wanted to attend. And overnight security is 100% a plus. We came to shop at THE GALLERIA and try out THE TURKEY LEG HUT and this property is within 15 minutes or less.

All staff members were super nice and room was cleaned and smelled wonderful. Would definitely stay again. Location is right by a bar or something but you can't hear a thing. Security at night is very friendly and quick to help. Definitely enjoyed my stay and the staff. Andrew was awesome.

Downtown Houston Best Western Plus has an awesome staff. With a full breakfast, and an exercise room. Clean and comfortable rooms with plenty of space. Mary at the front desk will make you feel right at home.

We were in Houston for our son's robotics competition. From the time we checked in every staff member was very friendly and eager to help. Mary at the front desk was always greeting everyone with a smile and offering cold water as we walked in. Erica was super sweet and came and Introduced herself during breakfast and asked how our stay was going. Housekeeping staff was wonderful and did a great job servicing the room as well as leaving behind a goody bag of snacks and extra water. The breakfast was like a full service restaurant with something for every one. It was prepared fresh, great healthy choices from breakfast sandwiches to waffles, hash browns, fruits, cereals and breads. Will definitely be returning again.

Erica and her staff do whatever it takes to make your stay enjoyable! The free breakfast had a huge variety and they never ran out during the breakfast hours. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available 24/7 in the lobby. Fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in room. Best pillows ever! Quiet. Pool and hot tub were available (we were there April 6 - 9, 2022). Parking was plentiful. The hotel provided security. We love the fact that the property is within 2 minutes of downtown Houston but very quiet.

Hotel was nice and clean. The pool and hot tub were great. Employees were awesome but the location is not great and the price is too high. I was under the impression that my daughter and I would be able to walk to restaurants but that was not the case.

The hotel is beautiful, clean and perfectly located. But on top of this great atmosphere due wonderful, professional and friendly staff. We already miss this place and would like to come back! Breakfast with city view and waterfront on swimming pool. So relaxing!

Mary at the front desk was friendly and accommodating. The room was big and the a/c was cold (just how we like it!). The location is perfect for a day exploring downtown. It was an easy 12 minute walk to the Hobby Center. The hot breakfast had lots of options and there was beer and wine available for purchase in the evening (at very reasonable prices). Parking is free which is a huge bonus for a downtown hotel. We didn't experience any issues with street noise and overall it was a quiet stay. The internet was fast and reliable. Beds were comfortable. The price was excellent considering the location and free parking. We would definitely stay here again.

Staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I was assigned a parking space with a Tesla charger for my stay. Hot Breakfast of pre-wrapped biscuit with bacon, egg, and cheese was adequate in COVID times, and other cold choices were also available. The cook kindly made a special plate without cheese for my lactose intolerant sister for the whole 3 days of our stay. Pool and hot tub were nice. We enjoyed a glass of wine each evening at a reasonable price. I would definitely stay here again.

I needed somewhere to stay the night and here I got a room quickly. Not quite in the budget I expected but understandable. Everything was clean, the room was quite and it even had complementary breakfast.

Stayed here for a family trip for Thanksgiving. Great location, clean property with nice amenities. Location was close to Montrose, Menil, wand Buffalo Bayou. Free self parking was nice as was pool area and breakfast.

Lovely quiet location on the doorstep of downtown Houston. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed comfy. However, the couch and arm chair was made of a plastic like material that felt cheap. There was a window AC unit that thankfully I didn't have to use thanks to the temperature dropping the nights I was there. There's an inch gap under the door where light and noises travel from the hallway that woke me up when loud guests would walk by. I loved the location, only a 10-minute walk to Buffalo Bayou and Eleanor Tinsley Park and a 5-10 minute drive to restaurants and bars.

We were headed to the World Series and managed to get a booking at this hotel. It is located at an acceptable distance to Minute Maid Park allowing us to arrange for transportation instead of driving. The property is lovely and our room smelled really nice. We found all the amenities to be clean and in working order. Fortunately, the people staying on our floor were not too loud. However, if The pool for this property is very nice as well. Though we didn't get to use the pool this time, if we stay there again we would. The staff here is outstanding, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. The bed was comfortable and the King room was a great size. The price was a little higher than we normally pay for a Best Western Premier property. However, we felt it was a great value for the location and day we were staying. We would definitely stay here again when visiting downtown Houston.

The BW is located in a good area within driving distance to many things to do in the Houston area. The hotel is very nice and clean. Our room was super. The bed was comfortable. I wish mine at home was as comfortable. The bath had plenty of room and lots of towels. The staff was great.

The hotel was centrally located to the downtown area and convenient for the different activities and venues connected to the wedding itself. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean and comfortable.

We stayed for one night as we were passing through Houston, we were able to easily walk to Sam Houston park and into downtown. We like to walk and it was doable to even get over to Main Street. We also walked a different direction from the hotel to dinner- over towards Gray Street- where there were a variety of restaurants. It was a safe neighborhood to walk for my daughter and me.

It was a mixed bag. Positive things: staff was nice, breakfast was alright, drinks available for purchase daily, central location, quiet rooms and cable TV. Negative things: staff not masked most of the time, everything is smaller than the photos suggest, mold in the bathroom shower, mold smell pouring from the ac unit, extremely uneven floors (the concrete below had several large mounds below the loose carpet, including one spot right inside the door with a large loose piece of wood that rocked when you stood on it, or tripped on it in the night). Overall, this hotel is not nearly worth the money it costs per night, when you can get a better deal in town on a 5*. It just smacks of budget accommodations at every turn, and for 200 bucks a night leaves a sour taste.

Hotel was clean and comfy beds. Had trouble getting a shuttle to game and back. Driver was off that day (SATURDAY AND GAME DAY? SERIOUSLY?). was given bad directions to eating places. Breakfast was very little and not appetizing. Less than desireable neighborhood if you plan on walking anywhere, which is not close anyway....

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. This was the best bang for your buck. FREE PARKING, very clean, beds super soft, water temp and pressure AMAZING and the staff was amazing. Big thanks to Erica who took the time to make sure my property got back to me after I left the items in the room. 5/5 will absolutely be back!

Overall the 2 night stay was a very good one. The hotel was very clean and accommodating to us. Definitely liked the fact that it was in close proximity to the places we visited and free parking was available. Also enjoyed the fact that grab and go breakfast was provided. The staff was showed exceptional hospitality toward us and for that we were well pleased. I would not hesitate to stay at the Best Western Plus for future visits. Everything was fabulous about our stay! The staff is the plus in Best Western Plus! Audrey was amazing and helpful with restaurant recommendations! Lots of wonderful restaurants close by... Housekeeping was good! Very clean rooms! Parking was free and secure! Rooms are large! Pool was wonderful. Will highly recommend and return! They had a hot and cold breakfast with great choices. Love the area of downtown it is located.

There is a club northeast of the hotel that was open late and was very very loud. After it closed, lots of patrons hung around and blasted their music and revved their engines. A nightmare. We will not be staying here again. Several buttons on the tv remote control did not work.

I truly enjoyed my stay at this Best Western Plus hotel. The experience from check-in to check-out was exemplary of a hotel that offers high customer satisfaction. First, its employees were fast, attentive, and sincere. Its rooms were clean, bright, and fresh. Its amenities were hassle-free and convenient. Its hotel guard kept the area safe. Last but not least, its breakfast had many options and was prepared to everyone's delight. Exemplary hotel operations.

I was trying to stay by Montrose, and this was one of the closest options I could find. I trust the Best Western brand, so I chose to stay here. I didn't care for the location too much (near a cemetery), but the hotel itself was very clean and comfortable. The rooms and halls were well lit and appeared to have been updated. The exterior could use some sprucing up, but it wasn't much of an issue. The staff were all friendly and accommodating, so no issues there. Overall, I really liked the actual hotel itself and its staff.

The hotel staff are fantastic, friendly and courteous. The suites are very large. You will not feel like you are paying for a walk-in closet with a bed. The hotel's security guard patrols the parking area all night so your vehicle is secure there. There is a work area where you can have your laptop with plenty of extra room on the desk. This is in every suite. The couch in the suites are sofa beds also if you have kids or an extra guest. The King Suite is my favorite with the most comfortable beds. I am sure the others are also. I stayed at this hotel for a month after Hurricane Harvey and several days ago when repairs were being made to my home and the water was shut off. As a person that can stay in any hotel downtown, I stumbled across this gem. It is quiet and comfortable. No valet parking to have to bring your car and wait. There is an airport shuttle that may be operating now. I am unable to comment on that service as I had my own car. If you have made it this far reading the review, this place is great. The fantastic buffet style breakfast they had is gone as with most hotels now.

During the recent Houston power outage we were happy to find a place that still had power. We stayed 3 nights. Each morning the staff would let us decide if we wanted to extend our stay another night while we waited for our power at home to come back on. We had a king suite with plenty of room to spread out. The WiFi worked great. A hot grab and go breakfast was included. Everyone wore masks so I didn't feel too worried about Covid-19. The staff offered a frozen pizza for purchase when we checked in which they cooked in their oven and delivered to our room. When the city water pressure was gone, staff would bring around buckets of pool water to each room and flush our toilets. The staff made the best of a bad situation. The location was easy to get to and in a quiet area, not too close to a loud freeway.

I recommend staying here to anyone that comes to Houston to stay overnight, The rooms are really nice and spacious and very well cleaned. The staff is full of amazing hardworking people. They are very nice and friendly and help you with any of your needs that you may have while your staying. Erica is amazing she goes above and beyond for you and your needs and she is such a friendly person. Andrew and Lezlie are also hardworking friendly down to earth people. I will be staying at this hotel every time I need to stay overnight in Houston.

We have stayed here several time , staff is top notch they all go out of their way to make you feel welcome like family. Erica is amazing and the rest of the staff follow her foot steps in going out of the way to accommodate you. Location is close to most everything you need to do including dining . Rooms are exceptional and so clean ! Price is very good for the area and free parking

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at Best Western! We felt safe with security at night. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Finally, the rooms were clean and spacious. Highly recommend staying here.

Not as advertised. See pictures, see rooms. Location nearness good, but not area. Our disability room was a very poor attempt at renovation for the disabled. Bath not good for showering, and room moldy. Is there a BW rep that looks over this area? Arrival to personable, helpful clerk. Thank you for this! Room awful. Check out was with a clerk who evidently did not want to be there and showed it. Did not ask for anything or complain, just got the heck out of there. Good to be gone. NOT the Best Western I have known and used. Other rooms must be wonderful to get such a high rating! Can't recommend. Houston has better places to stay.

We stayed in this hotel in March during our app was renovated after flooding. I would give 5* for everything. Location: Next to Downtown (what is extremely convenient for business trips and tourists). In walking distance from the hotel you can find some bars and café. Hotel has a private free parking for guests. Which is very important for Houston, where the cheapiest parking spot is 5$ per hour. Rooms are spacious, fresh and clean. You have a comfortable king size bed, tv (about600 channels), free high speed wi-fi, individual air conditioner, safe, coffee machine, microwave, beverage set, mini bar, bath amenities. Restaurant: There is a restaurant on the first floor where you can get breakfast. Eggs, potato cakes, taco, pancakes, w waffles, fruits, yogurt, cakes, cereal, lemonade, tea, coffee etc. Facility: There is a small gym, laundry, game place on the first floor, outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. The staff was super friendly and kind. We have warm memory about this place. They have a special atmosphere. You feel like home. I would say special thanks to Erica. She was very helpful and nice. I hope to meet with them again. We strongly recommend Best Western Plus Downtown Inn & Suites hotel!

Location is right outside the city, very close to local bars/clubs, which led to a very loud, noisy wake up calls at 2am. You can very clearly hear your neighbors. Parking was right outside your window so we heard every car rev their engine. Breakfast area was small so it made it kind of difficult to avoid sitting near the very same people. The front desk (around 4pm) didn't seem to happy or welcoming.. the hotel itself is in great shape. The rooms were great & clean, the cleaning lady was so nice & sweet.. location is the main reason for the issues. Also I am not from Houston so it would have been nice to be told of the non working ice machine, as well as the water issues before hand.

I just wanted to share my thoughts about something that happened to me on Wednesday afternoon. I was in the process of moving to a new home and I had been packing pretty much for 2 days. I was loading my car with everything that it would hold to make my move inexpensive. Well, I had a meeting in downtown Houston at 6pm on Wednesday as well. Long story short, I drove an hour away from my home and walked out the door without my pure. No DL, no cash or credit cards. I did not realize this until my gas light came on and I pulled over for gas...duh...no purse. I was in complete panic mode. Well, I started to pray, asking God to show me the way, and just help me. When I tell you that God showed up and then He showed out...He literally guided my car...keep in mind now that the needle was behind the 0...and no logical explanation for the car to still be driving. God wheeled my car into the parking lot at The Best Western on Dallas St. I went to the counter, and there she was...My 1st Angel, Erica G...Ms Erica gave me $10.00 to put gas in my car. Ms. Tanya, Angel #2 said, hold on and Mr. John, Angel #3 was then in the mix. He picked me up in the Best Western Shuttle and drive me to the gas station and pumped the gas in The Best Western Gas Can and drive me back to my car and poured the gas in..OMG! I then took the $8.00 cash left over and drove my car to the same station to get gas. I don't even know how to show My 3 Angels how much they helped me, and just how appreciative I am. I was scared and alone and I just couldn't think. I had called several friends, but none picked up their phones. I literally thought that some harm would come to me if I were not able to leave the location that I pulled into to get gas. God himself drive my empty car and pulled it into The Best Western parking lot. Ms. Erica. Ms. Tanya and Mr. John...y'all are Amazing. You just jumped in to help a stranger that you didn't know, and one that had no ID....Wow, I am beyond grateful. To The Best Western Management..you have 3 of the Most Incredible human beings working for your company, and I just hope you know that this is representative of your culture, and it speaks volumes about the type of company that you've created. Hotel is well maintained. Breakfast is well staffed and stocked. Staff is very courteous. Parking lot is very well monitored. Cleaning staff was great. Water and cookies each day are much appreciated. While we did not utilize the downtown shuttle, we appreciated the offer and how convenient it would be

Came for a Meet for my daughter. The Hotel was very clean and comfy. We got there really late so the parking lot was closed off and door locked to check in. Security guards were able to take care of us right away. The only issue I had was checkout being at 11. That is pretty early, since most hotels I've been to is 12.

This is a wonderful hotel to stay at, everyone is so helpful. The rooms were big and clean. This hotel was close to all the area attractions and only an hour away from the beach. A big breakfast was offered each morning. There was security present every night which made us feel much safer. There was a lot of secure parking.

Awesome staff, room was so clean and affordable price. Good location, also if you don't rent a car. You can visit all the downtown buildings (walking distance) and enjoy the downtown experience. Delicious breakfast and they provide free water, cookies and water during the stay.

This is a great hotel if you need to stay downtown. Security guard in the evening is great & all the staff we interacted with were friendly & helpful. They had a great pool but it was outdoor and we went in the winter months.

I am a BW diamond member but normally I don't do reviews of Best Westerns but this one was exceptional! Location is excellent/ within walking distance of downtown. Free parking is included. In the evening a security guard watches the parking lot and the front door to the hotel is opened by either your key or the receptionist. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming from the security guard, reception, housekeeping and breakfast server. In the lobby they have fresh cookies and both a local Houston paper and USA Today. They have both an attractive swimming pool and a hot tub. The lobby is clean and spacious. While it's the typical BW breakfast they make an extra effort by warming the tortillas to order and they had Greek Yogurt. In the evenings they put out snacks and have beverages for purchase including beer and wine. The room was beautiful/ spacious, clean and well lit. They include extras such as fresh bottled water daily and a pack of Milano cookies. In the bathroom they even provided cookies. If you go to Houston I highly recommend this Best Western! All the extra touches and friendly, welcoming staff made this hotel special!

Very pleasant week stay and right location for us. We had a suite that housed family well. Each morning we enjoyed hot breakfast provided. The staff was pleasant and friendly. The hotel felt spacious and we'll kept. We appreciated there was a night security guard. Located right near downtown with easy access was great. We walked or biked many times in the area, as other family members lived 1 mile from hotel. We would return if visiting Houston again.

It's not the Ritz-Carlton but clean, quiet, and comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Suggestion? Wish Best Westerns had better black out curtains. But that is a minor gripe. The breakfast bar was good too.

Rooms large and spacious. Lots of variety to choose from for breakfast - hot and cold. Premises clean and well kept. Staff very helpful and courteous. Plenty of parking for guests. Easy access from highway.

Great rooms, good service, and convenient location in Houston. During our stay the hotel was under renovation but the work was well planned to minimize the inconvenience to guests. The rooms were large and the staff kept it well supplied. The breakfast was nice with a large choice of items. The hotel is located within walking distance of the downtown area with access to the underground passages.

I am a hotel snob and don't give 5 stars very often. I've stayed in many luxury hotels, so be aware, I'm reviewing and rating this based on the fact that it's not a luxury hotel. The check-in was quick and she was friendly. The room was clean and had lots of nice touches in it such as a mini fridge, two bottles of water, microwave, coffee maker, toothpaste, makeup remover wipes, hand wipes, etc. The bed was comfy too! There's complimentary popcorn at night which is a really sweet touch. The wine/beer selection is very limited and the wine is a boxed wine, so prepare for that if it's important to you. Breakfast was really great - plenty of choices whether you are a carb queen or you are health conscious. 24 hour coffee too! It's located near the theater district and not too far from the museum district or galleria. Great location!

The staff at Best Western Plus is exceptional. Melissa is an outstanding employee. If there is a problem, Melissa will handle it with compassion. At check-in, our first room had an odor and the mattress was old, but within minutes, Melissa had us transferred to another suite with a great bed and newer furniture. Melissa even sprayed a hint of air freshener for us. She invited us down for some fresh baked cookies and happy hour at 4. We enjoyed the refreshments and games. The pool and hot tub are great. The hotel is a typical Best Western Plus with one unfortunate problem... its location. It isn't in a nice part of downtown, no good views, and is super close to two bars that don't appear to be the kind most people would enjoy.

Hotel was in an area convenient to downtown. Easy access to restaurants and outdoor spaces. Free self parking which is always a plus. Breakfast could have been available a little longer in the morning.

For the price you get the safety of your car is gated and patrolled. Everything you need is in a walking distance and if it's not there's a shuttle to take you. The staff is just as friendly as a 5 star hotel as well as the maids. The breakfast could be better but again for a BW it's what you'd expect.

Staff very welcoming & sincere. Rooms were very clean & fresh smelling. Breakfast was the absolute best of all Best Westerns we've ever stayed at. Definitely recommend this location. Wonderful experience!

Had wonderful experience from check In to check out. Jo at the front desk was an absolute sweetheart and very accommodating. They had a nice breakfast served every morning, Dina the attendant was such a hard working nice person and made fresh pico de Gallo every morning that was phenomenal. Rooms were immaculate and spacious. I would not want to stay anywhere else my next trip to Houston!!!

Comfortable place . The area is a little sketchy at night but they had security in parking lot. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The new decor was very elegant. The breakfast was satisfying and good. The fitness center had equipment you dont usually see in s hotel.

Selected this hotel due to proximity to another venue plus reasonable rating. I really loved my stay. Nice, spacious and very clean room. Love a room with a coffee maker in it. Also a fridge and microwave. Complimentary breakfast with HOT food! No in-house restaurant (although many within walking distance) but did have a “pop-up” bar with some hot appetizers. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Great place . Close to aquarium , best service from the front desk . The breakfast was awesome . Homemade salsa . And great price and clean rooms . So close to zoo and right down the stree to the aquarium. Also close to the underground shopping mall open Mondays threw Friday

Great value for money. The friendliest, most accommodating staff I've encountered anywhere. Excellent breakfast buffet with lots of choice. Suite was clean, bright and neat, and very quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the climate controls were easily accessible, all of which made for a very relaxing stay. The hotel is not right downtown, but only a short walk away, and for those who don't enjoy walking, the van service provides free, courteous transportation to and/or from any location within the downtown area.

Great location near Minute Maid park. They had a free shuttle to the game but not back (shuttle ends at 8). You could uber or lyft but we walked back (about 25 minutes). Most of the way you were walking with others so it felt safe. Staff was excellent, rooms were good and the free breakfast was better than expected. We would stay again

We stay at the best western plus on Dallas st. In Houston for the international quilt show 2019 the hotel was wonderful They provide a shuttle to the show So we were able to park are car till we went home They have the most wonderful staff Friendly and helpful Breakfast every morning was great and Dina the breakfast lady had a smiling face every day They have a security person at night But I always felt safe The manger Erica made us feel like family Excellent hotel staff and location Would highly recommend this hotel

In a fast paced business, it is nice to start off the day with a good breakfast. Dina is the lady that prepares the breakfast and although the regular hot meal is offered, Dina goes out of her way to make a special dish " Scrambled eggs a la Mexicana" and a mean "Pico de Gallo" that perks up any dish. She greets the guests at 6 am with a warm smile and makes the rounds to the tables when she can to see what we might need. Excellent personal service.

I stayed here for a night. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and updated hotel. The Gym also has a a cable weight machine which most hotels don't have so that was a plus for me. They gave me a clean fresh remote. I was so impressed because hotel remotes are disgusting and hard to wipe down. Not this one. I had a 7am flight and the location was excellent; they also offer a free shuttle to the airport. Its just a little loud from the planes taking off but that didnt bother me. If all Best Westerns were like this location I would book them 100% of the time.

Hotel is close to everything downtown and staff are very helpful and courteous. Stayed here for work and also to go to an Astos game. The hotel is very clean and beds sleep great. Cookies in the afternoon are always great to retrieve as well.

Very Nice and well kept. Very friendly staff, and breakfast too! Also has mid-day treats and a clean pool. You can't beat the price. They also have a shuttle around a 2 mile radius to eat out if you would like.

Stayed here for a week. One of the nicest mid-price range hotels we have ever stayed in. Large, comfortable room. Very quiet even though our room was right next to the elevator. King-sized bed very comfortable as well. Bathroom has lots of counter space. Front desk and all other employees very nice and always spoke to us. Breakfast area always clean and nice variety of food. Within walking distance of several restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay there again.

Loved are bed size comfortable soft pillows..would take a vacation just to sleep here..they have nice breakfast area with lots of options..travel time to almost everything is just a minutes.. didn't really care for the surrounding bars thou

This hotel was in an ideal location and a good deal for the money, but what made my experience outstanding was the friendliness of the staff. Jo at the front desk let me check in quite early, which was so helpful, and everyone was smiling and courteous.

Far enough from downtown to get a good rate, close enough to be involved. Very clean room and property. Staff was friendly and helpful at every turn. Free breakfast was on point! A Lyft Ride was about $5 to get anywhere and the airport was about 15, not bad! Dallas is a popular street!

This place has been wonderful. From my initial check in to friendly staff. I would return again. I would like to give recognition to Dina, she usually handles breakfast buffet and I would come back just to be helped by her. She makes you feel welcomed and cared for and it makes a good start to the day. Who would start it happy? One thing I would like to change is no fault of the staff (really, they're wonderful and helpful!!) are the beds, a bit too firm for my taste but thats not nothing staff related. I would come back nothing beats good service. Good tv channel options, complimentary water bottles, free cookies, they're doing hoteling right!

We were in town for a family visit, this was the first time that we stayed at this Best Western. We were treated warmly from the beginning. Our room was clean and fresh, beds were comfortable and the warm breakfast buffet had lots of options. We always look for a hotel with breakfast when we travel and this breakfast was one of the best.

One of the nicest Best Westerns we've visited, would definitely return here. Staff goes out of their way to be genuinely helpful and the breakfast exceeded the usual offerings. Despite the name, it's about a mile from the main downtown area where the ballpark and high rises are but there's a shuttle that runs until 8 PM which was very easy to access --and John was great van driver!

Clean, well managed, very helpful and friendly staff, and, as noted, great location for downtown activities (Astros games). Cookies and late afternoon snacks were a nice touch as well. Staff very helpful with suggestions and directions. Definitely earned a return visit!

I had jury duty at the Federal Court House. The hotel is within easy walking distance but the hotel has a shuttle service that will take you to the front door. Audrey & Tawana provided excellent service and local information. The room was large, very clean, and comfortable. I definately would stay here again.

We stayed for 4 nights and had a good sized room. It is a basic hotel with no restaurant and the free breakfast is not really edible, but it does provide free parking, a small pool and a good location. The room is clean, and the staff is very friendly. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within about 2 miles up to 8pm. That is a great service. We used Uber a lot to go to restaurants that were further away. The hotel is close to downtown, midtown, and Montrose - all within a $7 Uber fare so it is a good spot. We also walked around the area and found some coffee shops and restaurants about 7 blocks away heading toward midtown.

Fantastic place. Very clean with large rooms. The covered pool was great with a great location. Dina makes the best breakfast! Quite and close to the city center/walking and biking trails. The lobby was very nice also.

We stayed here to catch an Astros game. They dropped us off at the stadium and gave us lots of information about the area. It is in an excellent location near downtown. We will stay here again. Also the staff was very friendly.

Stayed here for two nights with my family when visiting Houston. We liked this hotel. Spacious room with separate sitting area. However, our teens did NOT enjoy the sofa bed. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was above par. The surrounding area doesn't offer much of anything but go a couple of blocks passed the freeway and you're downtown.

Everything is perfect. The first hotel I've been to that gives you a fresh TV remote control. Such attention to detail. Remote controls are one of the worst sources of germs because of the frequent usage by guests. Parking was easy, the bed was hard enough, shower was strong, TV entertainment was great, the laundry and dryer were easy to use and cost only a dollar for each wash (they even provided us with the soap for the wash). AC in the room was cool and the room was very clean. The pool was sheltered which was great. The complimentary breakfast was also great, with coffee and hot water available 24/7. The one and only thing I wished they had was sunny side up eggs for breakfast. I prefer that to the scramble eggs they served but that's just me and my wife. The staff were also very friendly although many of them didn't speak a lot of English. Not a problem at all as the front desk staff speak very good English and could help to relay any message to the rest such as the housekeeping staff. Jo checked us in on a breeze. Erica the AGM was also around when you needed her. She also promptly replied my email queries before my arrival. Location-wise, it's a bit out of the way but not a problem at all if you drive. In fact, being slightly outside the busy areas of downtown means less traffic to contend with. The freeways are easy to get to from the hotel. I'll be staying with BW for all my future trips to US.

This is the south, and this is the hospitality industry, so I'd expect the folks to be friendly and courteous. These folks are all over the top genuinely nice. Audrey at the front desk, the lady doing the breakfast over the weekend, the young fellow fixing the safe in our room were all just super darned nice. So, downgraded from a 5-pip rating due to there is no dining within an easy walk - there's a lot on Gray St, about 15 minute walk away. Plus, this section of West Dallas really isn't very attractive. The specific location is not so great, but the general location is pretty good. It is an easy drive into downtown, and the 41 bus line goes right by as well. It's an easy drive into midtown, Montrose and the Heights. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bed is soft, as a previous reviewer noted, but I liked it. Really nice plump and fluffy pillows, too. Like pretty much every hotel in the friggin world, the lighting is pathetic. I'm a light sleeper, and even though our room faced West Dallas, which is busy during the rush hours, I had no need for earplugs. There was a bit of traffic noise, but our top-floor room was surprisingly quiet. The room has a microwave, frig, Keurig coffee maker, some bottled water and cookies each day. The wifi was pretty good. We didn't tax it heavily, however. The coffee machine downstairs in the breakfast area runs 24/7.. The breakfast is a notch above most hotels in this class. Quite a few hot choices - several types of eggs, potatoes, French toast, good bacon and sausage, all the starch options and yogurt and fruit. The pool area is nice and peaceful. The gym is better than nothing.

Nothing fancy here, but perfect for a nights sleep at at reasonable price. Parking is free and the parking lot is safe. Staff were very courteous, and the morning free breakfast was what one would expect. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place to stay which is located virtually downtown, this is the place to be.

We stayed at this hotel when we came to Houston to see the Cubs and Astros play at Minute Maid Stadium. We were pleasantly surprised to discover the amazing shuttle service the hotel offers. We were dropped off and picked up at the stadium as well as to the restaurant we had dinner at. Noe and John run the shuttle service and they are absolutely wonderful. Courteous service and such a great bonus for our stay. The staff at the front desk were able to accommodate our early check in as well. The pool is well maintained and a lovely little oasis. We also enjoyed their Happy Hour that offers free food and beverages. The hotel is close to several great restaurants and brewery's. I dropped a star only because the mattress was really soft. Just not my jam. I still slept pretty well though. All in all, this hotel more than met our expectations. We will be sure to stay here every time we come to Houston. And thank you to everyone who were so pleasant to us!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place! They made every aspect of our stay great. Refreshed, restocked room daily, continental breakfast, afternoon reception, van that took us to and from the Astros game so we didn't have to drive, I could go on and on. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. If I were ever visiting Houston again, I would stay here.

Was downtown celebrating my friends birthday. This hotel was perfectly located between the 2 places we were going. The Downtown Aquarium and Howl at the Moon. Only issue was the parking lot. I drive a van so it was a little tight. Overall great hotel!! Will definitely stay again!

Our Robotics team stayed at this hotel to attend the Robotics World Championships in Houston. From logistical planning prior to our stay and during our stay, our experience was excellent. The assistant general manager, Erica Gonzalez, went out of her way to make our experience top notch. If anyone needs to plan a group stay at this hotel, I highly recommend getting in touch with Erica. She will help you plan your stay from start to finish.

We brought 25 people here for a high school robotics championship at the convention center. There is nothing not to rave about with this hotel. Erica, the GM, deserves high praise for her above and beyond service, patience, and most important her demeanor. Nothing ruffled her, she was always accomodating, and always got the job done. Her staff reflected that. The breakfast was perfect for the large groups. Waffle maker, eggs, cereals, bacon/sausage. There were 4 high school teams in the hotel and somehow there was never an unmanageable line. The breakfast staff was amazing. You'd think it was a restaurant instead of a hotel breakfast. Did I mention the informal happy hour with appetizers and wine? The staff was always a step away, accomodating a need you hadn't noticed you had yet. They always had a smile. I only wish I had remembered to find out if we could tip them. The shuttle was a huge benefit to this hotel. It's 1.5 miles from the convention center, so is walkable but the shuttle made it so easy to tranport the groups. When we were running a little late, or when we asked for some extra trips, they were very accomodating. The drivers were super friendly too. There is not a single complaint I have about this hotel. It was more than I expected in every single way possible!

Brought our robotics team from Honolulu and stayed 6 nights. Was a great hotel, close to downtown and the convention center. The best thing was the included full breakfast. Dina from the food service was amazing. In addition to the full breakfast there is a homemade Mexican breakfast. Dina went out of her way to make us feel welcome and we all left completely full like I left grandma's house. Thanks Dina and Best Western.

We were in town for a baseball game & decided to try this hotel because the price was reasonable & close to the ball park. We were very surprised by how big the room was & CLEAN! We didn't do the free happy hour but a staff member made sure to tell us about it & offer it to us. The hot breakfast was a nice surprise because of the variety of options from cereal to bacon, eggs, biscuits & gravy. The front desk staff were great, especially the lady working evenings (I forget her name) but she was very helpful in suggesting restaurants & arranging for the shuttle driver. We walked back to the hotel both evenings & the parking lot was well lit & there was a security guard on duty as well. Best hotel experience I've had in awhile!

Wow, what an amazing place! Location is fantastic, staff were great and the hotel was above expectations! Bed is super comfy and the entire stay was way above expectations. Even one of the staff were happy to drop us off at the rockets game to save us getting an Uber. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is on a budget but wants to have a comfortable stay!

The staff member working the "happy hour" was amazing. I believe her name was Valerie. She was hospitable, and kind. Erica was the one who helped me make the reservations and was outstanding as well. This was an overall great experience. The customer service was spot on. The location of this hotel was also convenient to everything downtown, about a five/ten minute drive to Minute Maid park depending on traffic.

Before the trip I was skeptical about staying at a Best Western. I could not have been more impressed! The hotel was awesome, the staff was incredible and the free drinks and snacks at happy hour were incredible. I would never stay anywhere else in Houston!

Nice big hotel in Downtown Houston. Coffee machine, drinking water, fridge and microwave. Breakfast was great for this type of accommodation, although they use single use plastic and paper extensively (no sign of recycling). There is a small outdoor pool and hot tub off the reception, which looked fine.

The hotel was excellent and the concert (Fab Four) was excellent as well!! We were concerned due to the venue being in the downtown area, but the security was more than adequate at the hotel and we would definitely return to this location to stay again.

I'm so excited to have discovered this hotel! It is conveniently located to downtown, the bufffalo bayou, and wonderful shops and restaurants. The staff was excellent from check-in, housekeeping, hostess/cook for breakfast and checkout. The free breakfast was great with home-made pico de gallo. I was able to make a delicious breakfast burrito and a "Texas" shaped waffle! The room and bathroom were spotless and equipped with coffee, small refrigerator. The beds and bedding were comfortable with plenty of pillows! There is free parking with lots of light. Don't forget your swimsuit. It was too cold to swim in the outdoor pool, but there was a hot tub which would be nice to use after a workout in the gym.

The hotel was just off the downtown area, by 750m. At night the route back to the hotel it was poorly lit. I was the only person walking back from Downtown at night. If I was a woman, I would not have done so. So get a taxi/Uber instead. The hotel itself was very clean. The basic breakfast (included in the price) was okay. The staff were helpful and friendly. The place was clean. There was ample parking. There was a small gym and even a pool.

High value in the Downtown area, entire staff is great. Van on site covers the downtown area.Walking distance to a good seafood and drinks. Rooms are always clean pillows and beds provide a good night sleep. They also have free parking so I park and use their shuttle van to get go to our office.

We went to Houston, TX, because we've never been there. We figured this would be the ideal place to celebrate our 51st wedding anniversary, (Dec. 24th), after coming off an awesome 8 day Carnival cruise. We truly enjoyed the marvelous city of Houston & looking forward to returning one day.

Staff was great. hotel and room was clean. The beds were not very comfortable. There was a gap between the door and the frame that allowed light in. Breakfast was ok. I waited for over 15 to get eggs then I finally got tired and left.

I loved this hotel. The staff were kind, especially Dina, who works in the breakfast area. It felt very warm, like someone had taken their time to think about the little things that would help you feel more at ease. Cookies in the lobby in the afternoons, simple decor in the bedrooms, toothpaste!(which I, perpetual traveler/hotel dweller, never see in hotel bathrooms), an endless supply of coffee, w cream and sugar, free happy hour drinks and snacks from Monday to Thursday. Also Houston itself is just a delightful place. Would totally do again. A+ trip this was friends, A+ trip.

A revisit to this wonderful hotel since 2015. It has only improved since the last visit. My wife and I checked in very late (3 am) due to delay in flight (& hours late). The receptionist was smiling and checked us in in a few minutes very graciously. The reception staff during our entire visit of 13 nights was very helpful, and went out of their way to help us. The room was very spacious, spotlessly clean, well lit with good wifi network connection and a large TV. The tea/coffee maker with the cookies/biscuits was a bonus. The room had a microwave, safe deposit, fridge, iron and all amenities to make the stay a memorable one. The breakfast was more than adequate with eggs, bacon, breads and spreads, fruits, juices, cereals, waffles, etc. Tea/coffee was available in the lobby 24x7. The best was the happy hours from Mon-Thur between 5-7 pm, when beer/wine was served along with delicious snacks. No shortcomings at all. We used the laundry m/c and dryer, the vending machine, fitness centre - all in excellent working condition. A must visit hotel.

Nice place but there is no place to eat close by. Also the places that are good to eat at you have to pay for parking. Are park on the street. The hotel it self is nice and the people are also nice. The area is ok

Wonderful, helpful staff, Fabulous free shuttle. I needed to get to the Convention Center for my presentation and the shuttle was on another run, so the check-in person drove me in her private car. WOW! l breakfast was wonderful. The food service director, Dina, was so-o-o helpful in getting me mustard and communicating with me to make sure everything was good. They also had a wonderful complimentary Happy Hour that included snacks. The room was cleaned everyday. It was a fabulous experience. I give it the highest recommendation.

though off the beaten path and a bit out of the way, it was worth it. i was well taken care of - from a warm greeting and quick room assignment [thank you, erica] to superb shuttle service. if you don't mind using their shuttle or calling for a cab or uber, this is the place to stay.

Very large suites with kitchen and basic dishes. Decent quality with some little signs of wear. Bed was comfortable. Friendly service. Breakfast was so so. Same thing for 4 days with little variety made free breakfast glad it was free. Location is just outside of core and neighbourhood is so so. Not a solo walk at night: Tony's Bar next door but is LGBT.

The staff did what they could to help our stay be comfortable and pleasant. The room was clean and inviting. It was a nice stay and the Happy Hour was a great bonus. We enjoyed the food and the convenience of not having to leave to get a light meal.

The hotel was great. Huge room, comfy bed, clean!! I arrived early and my booking service hadn't notified the hotel that I was arriving 6 hours before check in. The lovely front desk attendant told me I would have to wait since it was before 9am and the guests hadn't started checking out yet. Since check out was at 11am, I was content to wait. She pointed me towards the breakfast buffet which is served free every morning. The buffet is great news tasty. If you go, look for Deena, the attendant. She is super sweet and super helpful. She made my stay so enjoyable. The rooms have cable and with a good lineup of channels. There is also a pool and loads of parking...I was able to park my RV of about 30 feet. The rooms are the size of suites, or at least mine was. It is a great change from NYC where the rooms are small and you get zero amenities. The only downside is that they don't have in-house room service. However, I was able to get some great delivery so it's no big deal. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is very nice and clean. The rooms look just like the pictures (not outdated). The hotel is walking distance from downtown. So you're right outside of the big buildings.The breakfast is delicious. They offer egg, sausage, bacon, waffles, pancakes and buiscuit with gravy. Also a variety of other lighter breakfasts items such as fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee. We had a very nice stay here. We enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. It was mostly quiet during the weekend we were there. The staff was very nice. I would recommend this hotel.

The staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is amazing. The room was clean. Breakfast ishot with many choices. Monday through Friday they have a happy hour. Hot good and cold drinks. Shuttle service is fast and friendly.

This quaint little motel reminds me of Claire and Jamie. It is neat and clean and extremely well managed by the on-site owner. It is conveniently located about halfway between Pratt and Great Bend. It is a great place for a get-away stay for an individual or a couple( with just a little imagination it can be quite romantic!). It is big enough to accommodate a small group but small enough that you might feel like you are staying at your own private resort. For me it was like home away from home during a series of visits while working in the area.

Clean, affordable, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Operated in the shadows of the over-priced skyscraper hotels who cannot provide the same personal service. I made the reservation several weeks ahead of time and asked about possible early check-in as I had a Dr. appointment in Med Center area in the early afternoon. When I called at noon on arrival day to check on the possible early check-in, they already had the room ready and knew who I was.

So the hotel is really good and had been even better from what i heard and read if i stayed during the week. They have a shuttle and happy hour monday to friday which i missed out on going saturday and sunday only but thats ok. The front desk girl was great! So nice, friendly and helpful. Didnt catch her name but she said her husband is from St Louis. Has a real nice little pool that is outside but 2/3 covered from the sun. Rooms were good size and kept clean and was quiet while i was there. They stocked cookies, coffee and tea in the room along with water and a fridge in my room. I paid a litlte over $110 a night i think which was a good deal that weekend. Location for downtown worked great for me because i love walking and did walk everywhere. Toyota Center was about 1.1 miles and MInute Maid park not much further so i walked to both with no issues. Some pretty cool bars and restaurants just past each in this area closer to the baseball stadium for cheap drinks/food. Only issue i had my entire stay and not the hotels fault and tip for advice is careful walking in the neighborhood right behind the hotel. Not the safest and first time ever i had someone that was going to try to rob me before i was able to run away. I was up early in the morning doing my morning walk and he did a drive by and stopped to do no good, so just be careful and only cross over highway 45 into downtown and you'll be fine.

We stayed here for a few nights on our arrival in Houston and were very pleased with our choice. The room was large and had everything we could need. Breakfast - which was provided - was very good indeed. The staff were, without exception, friendly and efficient. Pretty good location too.

Check In was fast Good rooms with convenient access to downtown with no extra charge for parking. Other hotels in downtown had reasonable prices but then wanted 30+ for parking and extra charges for nick nack things but here at BW free parking with a good breakfast and helpful and friendly staff.

Great choice while in town for one evening for the Astros game. Based on this hotel I'd say Best Western has really stepped it up! Caution to other travelers staying for the Astros game - the free hotel shuttle to Minute Maid Park does NOT run on the weekends. Honestly this is the only reason we initially chose this hotel. But the room was great, beds super comfy, bedding was surprisingly nice, and the free breakfast can't be beat. Happy travels!

Enjoyed our stay very much. Everything was great. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast bar prepared by Dina each morning was awesome! If ever in the Houston, TX area would stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and the staff was really nice. They have a full breakfast in the morning and freshly cooked cookies at 3:30. The pool was a little smaller than what I expected but it was a clean area that was covered. The staff made it a great visit!

I was supposed to be booked into the Hampton Inn, but they messed up the reservation. So, they sent me to the Best Western on Dallas at 10 pm. Wasn't expecting much given the circumstances, but I was very much surprised by the quality of the service. Leslie at the desk was a delight. Dina made breakfast something special despite the power going out to the kitchen. The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. I'm thinking of coming back next time I come to Houston and just taking a cab to the game. I would highly recommend the Best Western on Dallas Ave. for any traveler to Houston.

We live in a suburb of Houston, but during the month of August we stayed in some downtown hotels on 2 weekends while going to concerts/tours in the area. The first weekend we stayed at Hilton Americas but for the second weekend, we stayed at the Best Western Plus and enjoyed free parking. After researching several hotels in and around downtown, I was pleasantly surprised to find the Best Western offered this as I expected all hotels in the vicinity of downtown would charge a fee for parking. The Best Western is an awesome value: we spent less staying there for 2 nights than we did for only 1 night at the Hilton! It was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The only problem that arose was we noticed some buttons on our TV remote didn't work, so I left a note in the room after the first night and when we returned, the remote had been replaced.

I picked this hotel because of it's location being close to my son's residence. I have stayed at Best Western hotels in the past and always had a good experience, so this was the logical choice. Once we checked in we realized it was the BEST choice! The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was super clean. The breakfast was great and the coffee was even better. The bed slept great, made me realize we need a new mattress! All in all, we had a great trip and experience at the Best Western Plus Downtown Houston.

Breakfast was the best!! I was amazed at the selection everyone at the hotel was friendly and very helpful. and the happy hour where you get 2 free drinks , I choose a wine but not really what I liked but the thought of free drinks and mini snack, not too shabby.

This is an all inclusive place to stay. Meaning no extra parking fees & full breakfast included. The hotel was very clean, good food. The only issue keeping me from a 5 star is the reservation confusion and lack of knowledge for a scheduled group, guest had a difficult time making a reservation, some went to another hotel. Some had difficulty getting through to make the reservation.

This is by far the absolute best place to stay in Houston! If you are lucky enough to have the breakfast that Dina cooks...then you will have a fantastic stay!! The best cook of all time! The bacon is always crispy, all food is fresh and hot, everything is fully stocked, and kitchen/eating area always clean. We love staying here and always come back! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place...my home away from home!

We needed a place to stay as we were attending a Play at the Hobby Center. Best Western Plus was only a few minutes away and the accommodations were wonderful, but none better than the staff! The staff is exceptionally courteous and helpful. Great rooms, breakfast and atmosphere!

Our stay was excellent. The staff members were friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean. Each room is equipped with a keurig, a variety of teas, and Milano cookies. The complimentary breakfast was great, they offered a large variety of foods. The rooms also have Directv instead of a local cable company.

I stay there for business during the week. Price and quality are best value in the downtown area. No charge for parking and a shuttle that will take you to a office building and or to restaurants at night. Well run operation.

Very happy staying here for 3 nights. Just on the cusp of downtown. Free parking. Free shuttle during certain hours to downtown spots, including the Astros' games. John, the driver had great information. Happy hour during 5-7, allows you to get two free drinks (glass of wine, cans of beer). Dina, the breakfast buffet host, was amazing. Made you feel right at home. She made huevos rancheros every morning. It was a pleasure to meet and speak to her on a daily basis. REMEMBER: Cabs in Houston must charge you a max of $6 to anywhere in the downtown area. A driver wanted $15 to take me back to the hotel from Minute Maid, and I negotiated with another driver for $8. Clientele were also very nice and professional. Would stay here again. Very enjoyable.

A nice hotel in a great spot. We stayed here to not have to pay crazy dollars to be right downtown. This is just across the interstate but still very much downtown. They have a free shuttle to Minute Maid park that runs before the game but you're on your own to get back. We decided to walk as it's definitely walking distance to get back - about a 20 minute walk. Hotel is a bit older style, definitely not new but is quite clean. We had no issues and it was quiet at night. Thanks!

Needed a hotel for one night to attend a Houston Astro's baseball game. Have never stayed at a Best Western plus, and most of the other luxury hotels were either full or overpriced because of apparently high demand for their rooms during this time. I was extremely impressed from a couple of days before we went, I had a question about my reservation, and the young man on duty when I called was very friendly and very helpful. Did not catch his name. When I checked in the lady at the front desk was again very friendly and very helpful and even let us in on the fact that their shuttle van would take us to the baseball game instead of us having to catch a taxi or Uber. The room was very clean and well-maintained. The bed was very comfortable as well. Every employee that we had face-to-face contact with was very welcoming and very friendly. I will be making a point to stay at this hotel when visiting the downtown area.

We left our camera in our room and discovered the loss only after we got back to North Carolina. A call to Jo at the front desk quickly led to the camera being found by staff Marleni. Then assistant manager Erica arranged for shipping the camera to us. We are very impressed and grateful to the exceptional staff and service at this Best Western.

The hotel is in good location close to downtown and walking distance of nice restaurant area. They provides shuter in a two mile area. The employments are friendly, helpfull and focus on service. Rhey provide an excelent breakfast, Dina is in charge to makes your mornings special, she is great and make the difference from other hotels. The hotel have gim, nice pool, nice front desk and receiving area, and they have 24 h cofee. We will stay again.

It is a wonderful hotel and worth the price to stay there. The hotel is 1.3 miles from the hotel, so it is a bit of a walk. My teenage boys were tired by the end of the day. After we walked back, we cooled off in the pool and it made an excellent ending to our nights there.

Had a great stay! All of the staff was very helpful. Room was clean and quiet. The kids loved the pool, which was a definite highlight. The pool is mostly covered, which made the sun bearable, but also meant it was still a little cool this early in the year. Would definitely stay again in the future.

The hotel is in a good location close to the city centre and freeway on ramp and exits. It has free parking and we were able to park each night. The rooms are spacious with free Internet. Complimentary breakfast

Our "suite" included a full kitchen including a k-cup coffee maker and a enough coffee for 4 cups which was replenished each day. The king bed and bedding comfortable. A generous size bathroom and a large closet. We especially appreciated that 2 luggage benches were included and plenty of space to place our clothes in drawers. We had a large tv and sofa. However, I think of a suite is having a divided or separate sleeping area from the living room. This was all one room. Breakfast was incredible and a late afternoon snack and beverage time was offfered. Ample parking front and back which was well lit, and a security person was around the property in the evening. The location was just a couple of blocks from the start of the high-rise part of Houston. About a 5 minutes drive to Gray street which had a nice assortment of mid-range dining. Valet parking was appreciated. I wish they had a convenience store on property. This was far more laid back than the high-rise hotels just blocks away.

Stayed for 2 nights to see a musical at the Hobby Center. Good choice if you have multiple cars and want to stay downtown. No parking fees & plenty of parking. Parking lot was well lit & had a security guard. Room was very clean. Breakfast was good. Staff was the best part of our experience. Everyone was professional, friendly & helpful.

Stayed for two nights on our way through to Mexico. Really quick and easy check in and check out and we got there just time for free cookies coming out. The room was big, bed comfortable and a good shower. We had no bother with the free car park and you do sort of need transport as there is not too much near by. Did not use the free shuttle, so no the sure how that works. Breakfast was ok and I enjoyed the yogurt that I took a little later. Massive thank you to Erica on the front desk for helping us print out our travel documents for Mexico. They all worked this end and very much appreciated. Couldn't have asked for anymore.

We stayed 3 nights in best western for the Yankees vs Astros game. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Dina, the cooker, is really nice. She is always worried that the guests had everything they need, she listened to us and prepared a breakfast that we like. Excelent service.

Great hotel, Extremely clean, free parking (small parking spots), free internet, complimentary water in the room and free breakfast (at least on the reservation I had). They have all the basics (including toothpaste and hair combs), which was nice. I believe I pay an medium-high rate because it was a busy weekend in Houston. Location is downtown, but it is not an easy walk to the heart of downtown. It is a great location for a 5-7 min cheap Uber ride. I would definitely stay there again!

Very close to the GRB convention center, Minute Maid stadium and the Toyota Center. Bed was super comfy, awesome breakfast, friendly staff and very clean. Dina, did a great job making our family feel right at home. Complimentary bottled water!

Great Hotel and price for downtown. Went to a ball game and it is a short trip to the ball park. The basketball stadium is even closer. The hotel staff was friendly and competent. The breakfast was good and the staff kept the items full. The pool and hot tub were very cool.

Erica Gonzales and the staff at this hotel are amazing. A safe restful hotel close to everything that we needed to do and see. The breakfast is great, a self serve breakfast with all that anyone would want from fruits,cereals, waffles, two types of eggs, bacon,sausage,potatoes, juice, coffee,lemon water, and a friendly staff to assist you if needed. A dining area large enough to seat several people. T.V. s with morning news.. A warm and cozy lobby with big screen T.V.. An inviting covered pool and hot tub with waterfall. The security team is great, patrolling the property and parking area insuring that our Art Car was safe and secure. The staff from housekeeping, matenance , and desk positions were all smiling, friendly , helpful ,and eager to answer questions, assist, and make sure our stay was enjoyable. Although we did not use the business and fitness centers they are availible.

Stayed here for two nights whilst on Texan Tour. Great hotel in a fairly central location. Clean and friendly place with s complimentary shuttle service which we used. Nice little touches like “happy hour” and complimentary water make all the difference. Breakfast was great with all the usual features. Rooms are comfortable and no noise which is good when kids are travelling with you.

When searching for hotels close to downtown for work that included free parking they were sparse. I came across this hotel which had everything I was looking for and more for a reasonable cost in relation to the others in the area. The front desk staff was very friendly every time we came in and they had amenities i wasn't even expecting like a free happy hour, fresh baked cookies when you came in, and a free shuttle that would take you anywhere within a 2 mile radius of hotel (basically to anywhere in the downtown i needed). Hotel was clean and breakfast was as expected. I have no complaints and had an overall good experience here.

Thanks so much for the obtaining corn tortillas for my daughter and I (gluten sensitive) for your special home made breakfasts. Also, much thanks for the kindness extended and accomodations made for me; I sustained a foot injury just days before our vacation which kept me side-lined with special needs. The staff took time out to speak with me and share their lives. The facility was immaculate. I have not had a continental breakfast experience that was kept as clean as this one. The staff work so hard and it shows. Many are just getting their lives on track due to Hurricane Harvey. I felt safe and well cared for. The pillows and bedding are so comfortable, I ordered some for my home when we came home. Thanks so much for a great stay!

Ideal location for visiting downtown Houston and have a nice walk or bicycle ride along Buffalo Bayou. Famous Waugh bridge with 250000 bats flying out each evening at sunset is close by, Good restaurants available in the vicinity.

Perfect place to stay - it takes around 10 - 15 minutes to walk downtown in case you are here when the shuttle does not work. Actually downtown Houston was more pleasant than I expected it - with an OK pedestrian area. The rooms are clean , big and newish If you arrive jetlagged from Europe - it is easy enough to reach this place by car without being trampled by the mad Houston traffic- just of the highway exit. It is also a good base for the museum district. The breakfast was good and had enough healthy options . One lady called Dina actually cooked some special Mexican food for us - which was very nice. Would recommend this hotel and stay here again

I needed a hotel close to downtown and 10 m drive from the university so I chose this one for a week stay. I had a great surprise as I did not expect anything from a hotel that has 2.5 stars. First of all spacious and free parking. Staff extremely helpful and smiling. The king room I had was huge!! Had a fridge microwave coffee espresso machine with complimentary capsules biscuits and water refilled every day. The king bed was extremely comfortable. They have a cute little outdoor swimming pool and gym that I did not use. I did use the laundry and dryer 2$ was great. In the afternoon they have a happy hour where they serve free cold drinks beer and Even wine and snacks. A great idea. Loved it. And the bad? The breakfast is very standard though decent for what you would expect from a 2 star hotel. No eggs on demand only pre made. It was though the first time in my years of travel that I had it served on disposable carton plates and plastic cutlery highly unpleasant. Maybe it happens in the USA had never seen this anywhere else. Feels like a fast food place and not a hotel. In summary as someone that travels a lot and had my share of hotels I must say that I would give them 4 stars If they could only serve breakfast properly. Highly recommended!!

Visited Houston for business in the downtown area for a few days and stumbled onto this BW Plus. It was an excellent find. The room (and entire property) was very clean and updated. The breakfast (free) was very strong (eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, biscuits, fruit, etc). We had a king room which was spacious (and had a microwave, fridge and pull-out couch). The staff was exceptionally friendly from check-in to check-out. Parking was free. I don't have anything negative to say about the place and would certainly recommend it.

The breakfast lady was very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. Free parking is always a plus with us. The room was clean. The tooth paste looked as if it had been handled/squeezed, but it was still sealed so we used it. Nice convenient spot in down town Houston.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! I booked a block of rooms for our company to stay at for NAPE and everyone was super impressed by the location and quality. The rooms were clean and well maintained, the staff was super friendly, and the price was killer, especially compared to other hotels in the area. Will definitely stay here again and book it for clients in the area as well :-)

At the beginning of January, My fiancee and I went flew to Houston from the Bay Area to catch our favorite team, The Golden State Warriors play the Rockets. The staff at the hotel was very welcoming and our room was larger than expected. Happy hour before the free shuttle to the game put us in a great mood to watch our team beat the Rockets! All in all, a very good stay.

Great location within walking distance of downtown. Very nice room with great staff. Breakfast is excellent with a large selection of hot and cold items. Also have a happy hour each days with drinks and snacks. Exercise room is small but adequate. Covered pool looked nice by it was too cold to use.

Stayed a night here with my friends. I woke up early and went down to get breakfast. Dina made sure i got plenty to eat and gave me the layout. She kept checking up on me and was the sweetest company while I woke up. (And her food was the bomb!)

I spent more than a week in this hotel. Besides the amazing services I had, Dina was very friendly and she is the best one, the breakfast we had was delicious, we had a great experience. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

I was in Houston for the first time and my daughter was here for surgery. I have never stayed at a Best Western plus before and was pleasantly surprised with how clean , friendly, and courteous the rooms and staff were here. We were pretty much here to get well after surgery and I thought I would lose it being locked up in a hotel for 2 weeks but the staff here made me feel like family. Their were a few key people I would like to Thank . Dina for always making a wonderful breakfast and going the extra mile to make me smile. Jackie for being an ear to listen when I was going nuts. Yousef for being kind always. Jo for being so supportive. Noel or taking me where I needed to go and making me laugh. Erica for always asking how I'm doing. My housekeeper for being so understanding and kind. The 2 gentleman who did Happy Hour even during the storm “you rock”. I guess what I am saying is I am glad I was stuck here with you. In short if you are ever in Houston you must stay here!

I never liked this hotel chain prior to our stay at this one. It used to be a rinky dink hotel, and used to have a musty smell. My family and I were pleased from the time we checked in. The lady in charge of the wonderful buffet breakfast daily, Ms Dina is great! She's always in a good mood, always willing to help the guests. Thank you very much, Ms Dina. The other person I would like to thank is the housekeeper, Yaneri. She's sweet and very kind. They made our stay great. I would like to recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, wonderful hotel with comfortable beds, good food, great service.

This is a perfect hotel to stay with family. The location is also very good as it is near everything. The Breakfast was very good and family oriented. The rooms are big and well decorated. I personally recommend it for business, vacation and anything in between

I bet you can't find a better hotel in Houston. It is right downtown with walking distance to a park and a shuttle to anywhere else you want to go - plus a view of the skyline, extremely clean, and an excellent breakfast.

This was a return trip for leisure and we were excited to come back to this hidden gem! I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone. I love to call it a boutique because it feels like a private get away. The hotel staff is friendly all around! The breakfast was delicious, the rooms were quite spacious and very clean. The comforters were so soft and the pillows were fluffy. The sheets were definitely clean! There were plenty of towels upon arriving in our room; we never needed to ask for a thing. The cleanliness of the entire hotel was wonderful. The shuttle was convenient and staff recommendations for local places to visit is a wonderful perk. There is a large park and historic heritage site right down the street under the beautiful skyline of Houston. I adore this hotel and the price is so reasonable! I'm so used to paying more for far less quality of services and amenities. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful stay Best Western Downtown Inn and Suites!

We have stayed at this best western multiple times and they exceed our expectations EVERY SINGLE STAY. The staff is amazing. Deena, the breakfast cook will not let you leave hungry. Jo at the front desk is so sweet. It is obvious they work for an amazing manager, Erica. She always has the biggest smile on her face and acts as if she is welcoming us to her home. The amenities are abundant from a pool, to free parking, free WiFi, free breakfast, free happy hour, the Lis goes on and on. Clean, OMG, I swear you could eat off of the floors. Has turned into my hotel of choice when in downtown Houston. The staff is great and rooms are top value vs much of Houston. They provide a shuttle van to I think a 2 mile radius form hotel. Rooms are clean, with nice décor. Good place to eat just walking distance from hotel or many others within shuttle range.

This Best Western is like coming home as we stay here twice a year. From Jo who checks us in at the desk to all the people that work in the food service for breakfast, all the housekeepers, everyone is so friendly and professional. The rooms are spotless and everyone is so friendly and helpful. we will come back again in June and recommend this hotel. Very safe and they have a guard for parking lot at night. Also it is a quiet hotel and have Keurig coffee makers in the rooms, which we love for convenience. A great place to stay!

Hotel is clean and well run. Staff is very friendly and responsive. Breakfast is good and happy hour is pleasant. Love the hot tub. (Be sure to check the hot tub temp when you check in. They may have to turn it up). The location works well for proximity to medical center and numerous restaurants.

This BW+ is near downtown. It has a shuttle service within. 2 mile radius. Happy hour, nice pool and hot tub, good security, good breakfast, nice staff. Exercise room adequate. Would stay here again. .

Hi, we visited Houston to try some restaurants and see a play at the Stages theater. This hotel was located perfectly for our adventures and it was a very nice hotel. It had a nice breakfast, a little happy hour that was fun and a pretty room, lobby and pool area. And the staff were very helpful. The bonus was the sight of the skyline on the way home each night. Good place.

I will stay here again anytime I need to be in the downtown area. I may even go back when it's a little out of the way. I feel like the staff is family, and I was only there for two days. A great feature I didn't until check in, is an outdoor, shaded pool with a waterfall and hot tub. I love that the hot tub is outdoors.

I booked 7 rooms at the Best Western for a group of colleagues going to a conference. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Jackie. She checked us in and checked on us daily, making sure that everything we needed was there for us. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The food was awesome! We expected a continental breakfast of cereals and bagels. They had that plus bacon, eggs, potatoes, sausage, french toast, biscuits, and so much more. The cook checked on us during the meal to make sure that everything was to our liking and to see if there was anything additional she could do for us. Our group used the shuttle to go to the convention center. The shuttle drivers were great! They even accommodated us when we had special requests. Though there were a lot of us, we never traveled to the convention center as one big group, so accommodating all of our needs was amazing. Our group stayed at the BW for two nights. I ended up staying at another hotel for an additional two nights with family after the conference. I was constantly comparing the quality of the second hotel to the BW and was wishing I could have stayed at the BW instead. The only reason I had to make the switch was that the second hotel was in a part of town closer to my family. Next time, I will just stay at the BW and drive a little farther to see the family. This Best Western experience for me was nothing less than perfect.

Clean well kept rooms, just off downtown so a bit cheaper, fluffy new towels, a friendly commuter van, big rooms, decent internet, and Dina made a Mexican breakfast for me on my last day. No wonder this is our preferred Houston hotel.

Just stayed here for the Houston International Quilt Festival. Rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable. Lobby area was great big groups of quilters were able to meet in there at night and have a show and tell of what they bought at the festival. This was much cozier than it would have been in one of the big convention hotels. Breakfast was hot and of very good quality--Eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage and bacon, fruit, waffles, pancakes, bagels and muffins along with all the fixings. They also had a happy hour Monday-Thursday nights which is unusual for these types of hotels. We met downstairs at night and played card games in the dinning area and they made chocolate chip cookies for us. They also ran a shuttle to the convention center for us through Friday. It would have been nice if they had been prepared to continue it on the weekend since the quilt show ran through Sunday but they did not.

This is the second time our group has stayed at this hotel and it is amazing. We had such a great stay and can't complain about anything. The rooms are huge and the beds are so comfortable! Everything is beautifully clean. The shuttle is so good and getting to restaurants or the convention Center is made so easy by having the shuttle service. The guest laundry is fast and cheap to use only 4 quarters, there is security outside in the evening but I have never felt unsafe staying there even when I was alone. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else if I was in Houston and would recommend it to anyone.

After having to deal with five star hotels, I found this gem. No noisy crowds, a nice friendly staff, and no waiting 30-45 minutes for a valet to bring your car around. The parking lot is large and secure with a guard at night. The suites are larger than most downtown hotels and the beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfast is served with hugs and the latest news if you missed it.The in-room ethernet connection is fast and so is the wifi which is a must for me. And, did I mention quiet and peaceful?

Very clean, new hotel. I normally stay in Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn. However, the Best western Plus Downtown had free parking, so I thought I would try it. I am glad I did. The hotel seems newly built. The room was very clean and well appointed with mini fridge,free bottled water, Kuerig, high speed free WiFi, & USB charge plugs and receptacles in abundance to keep one refreshed and recharged! The bed was comfy and my son was comfy on the couch. There was extra pillow & blanket provided. The breakfast was abundant and great! I arrived late before closing and there was still food left and I did not feel rushed. However, one think that really made me write this review was the customer service. I received extra nice customer service. As I stated, being late to breakfast, I brought a plate and juices to the room and my hands were quite full. An employee offered to walk to elevator with me to push buttons and then when I got to the door of my room, another employee asked if I wanted them to open the door for me. This was a tremendous help! I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of the staff! Also, we took an Uber into downtown for an event. It was around $8. When we returned, we were pleased to see active security in the well lit free parking! The Best Western Plus Downtown Houston truely exceeded our expectations.

There's an outdoor pool and hot tub, fitness center, and a 24-hour business center with meeting facilities. Free perks include parking, a weekday Downtown shuttle, and hot breakfast. Guests also receive complimentary bottled water and a happy hour with beer and wine. Loved our bedding as it was extremely comfortable.

Just stayed a couple of nights on the first leg of a Texas tour but were treated very well. Nice breakfast and very friendly staff, along with comfortable, clean rooms. Close to downtown if you don't mind walking.

Everything with this hotel, breakfast, the extra amenities and the awesome staff from the time of arrival until the time you leave they make you feel at home. When staying in HOUSTON, this is the hotel to stay at.

Everyone was very helpful. Breakfast had many choices and the food was hot and fresh. They were constantly checking to see if you needed anything. Bed was reasonably firm and comfortable. Room was very clean.

I have stayed at several hotels in downtown Houston, and the ease of getting in and out of the Best Western Downtown is the easiest of all. Very large breakfast daily and a nice happy hour during the week are both very nice. Rooms are large and comfortable.

I was very disappointed during my stay at this hotel. The free weekday shuttle mentioned on the hotel's website and in the hotel's amenities binder in my room is no longer offered, so you will have to take a cab to and from the airport. Furthermore, the hotel's internet computers run Windows XP, which was replaced in 2007. This obsolete version made surfing the Internet very difficult. I expected more from this hotel after reading its reviews. I was very disappointed and won't recommend this hotel and will stay somewhere else when I return to Houston.

My daughter and I came to visit Houston for the Ed Sheeran concert. We were very pleased with the friendly staff, cleanliness of the rooms and facilities. The breakfast was amazing. We will definitely use Best Western again when traveling.

I have been staying at this hotel nearly every week for over two years. My cost is comparable to an apartment in the same area. It is right next to the downtown center and do not charge for parking as the downtown hotels do. There is a driver to take you to your meetings or to a store and pick you up again. I prefer this hotel over the much more expensive hotels right next door. Jo is at the front desk almost every morning and she has always had my check in and check out ready. The staff go out of their way to take care of you.

1st. time at this hotel. Very nice and clean. Hotel staff and security guard were friendly. Breakfast was fresh and tasted great. Will be back if in the Houston area. Free parking and its downtown. You don't hear of that too much. Would recommend.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are helpful and friendly. We were personally welcomed by Veronica upon check in and Dina provided personal attention at the breakfast buffet that is included in the price of the room - very nice. We look forward to staying here again.

I highly recommend this hotel. It's nothing fancy, but it is comfortable and convenient and the staff are nice and helpful. If you are doing anything in the Montrose area of Houston this is a super convenient place to stay

Used the Shuttle service to and from Downtown. Very Prompt and Polite. Saved a lot on Parking. Nor the Driver was great. Good location with quick access to downtown and avoiding the traffic and driving time. I will stay there again on my next visit to Houston.

Great location near all areas of interest driving and walking distance to local restaurants, arena and stadium. Would highly recommend this location . The Mall and Airport are also within 15 minuets away which means no need to rush to any of your locations.

Great value and location. Love Bestwestern! Rooms were spacious and very clean. Breakfast is excellent. Staff very helpful. Shuttle service to downtown on weekdays was great. Only downfall is they should offer it on the weekend as well.

The hotel was clean and inviting and as for the staff wow made me feel i was in a 5 star hotel, from the front desk staff to housekeeping they were awesome. The location was great. All i had to do is walk next door and I was where I was supposed to be.

The rooom and service was good when we arrived, but went downhill from there. The morning after we arrived, we put the do not disturb sign on the door so that we could have breakfast at the hotel (which was nothing to praise). We were back to our room and ready for the day by 10. The lady was cleaning across the hall from our room, so we took down the DND sign and left - but our room was not touched. I also had to ask for different sheets as every time we moved during the night, the fitted sheet came off. I'm sorry to say that there was not a lot that I can say positive about this hotel - from the service, the food, or the comfort of the bed. So sad that one BW Plus can be so great, while the next - not so much!

This was a great place. Very friendly helpful staff. Clean. Beds were very comfortable. Pool was great and breakfast was exceptional. Our family had a great time and we will return and always look for BW+ when going other places.

One of the Greatest Hotels I have ever stayed at. All the staff are top notch, and remember their guests from past visits. The Breakfast is awesome and one of the best of any hotel, can't believe it's free. The Rooms are great and roomy. There is nothing bad to say about this hotel, you will enjoy your stay.

I chose this location because it was near to the passport office. It was clean and well-kept. The hotel even offered free parking, which added to the value of the room. The hotel offered a shuttle, which dropped me off at the passport office the following morning. The breakfast was great. I would choose this location again if I need to visit downtown Houston. Great staff, from the shuttle drivers to the restaurant and hotel staff.

This is the best place we have stayed at in a long time! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and had extra amenities (complimentary cookies and water in the room; toothpaste and mouthwash were also included). The tv remote was even in a sanitized bag. Breakfast was the best we've ever had at a hotel. Anything you could want for breakfast and more, and they kept it coming when food would get low. One morning they even served later than they were supposed to because it was so busy.

We stayed 3 nights and had a very good experience. All employees were smiling, friendly and helpful. Internet was great! A must have for us. The breakfast and afternoon snacks were a nice touch. Free water was always available. If we are ever in downtown Houston area again, we will stay with this Best Western Plus again.

Your TV adds are not matching performance. Cleanliness was horrible with uneaten popcorn on a counter, hair on the floor in the bathroom and a road toll ticket in the sheets in the bed. No emergency power or lighting. This meant that the hallways were in total darkness when the power died. The lack of emergency lighting "BAT-O-LANTERNS" is probably a fire code violation, as well as having carpet in the emergency exit stairwells. All phone service died when the power went out. So if there was a real loss of power during a fire a guest could not see to get out or call for help. Remember not everybody has a cell phone.

CONS: Very Disappointed. It is a lovely building in a very convenient location but the room was dirty. Hair on the bathroom floor, popcorn on the counter, and when we pulled the sheet back there was a toll ticket dated 2 days before our arrival in the bed. I reported all this to the manager and she smiled and said she would look into it. During our stay the power company had to replace two telephone poles, so the hotel was with out power for several hours, unavoidable, but there were NO emergency lights in the hallways, making them VERY dark and dangerous. PROS: The staff was OUTSTANDING. There is a courtesy shuttle to areas within 2 miles, that took us to the Chinese Console and the Aquarium. Noe and Larry? were the best. The night clerk was wonderfully helpful.

The staff was always friendly, from the time at check-in to check-out. The happy hour was a surprise. Beer and wine were the only choices, but it was still great. Breakfast was a full hot buffet. It was a good breakfast. The room was spacious and clean. I appreciated the hotel security outside at night. I definitely would stay here again if I had another conference downtown. It's only a mile from the convention center and an Uber ride was only $5. Well worth it to not pay $20+ for parking. The pool was small, but well worth it. I can't say enough great things about this hotel.

I usually have no problems as Best Western, but this hotel was disappointing. First off, we arrived during the heat of the day (95 degrees with about 100% humidity). We were tired and hot after being stuck in horrendous traffic. We got to the room and it wasn't much cooler than the outside air. I immediately turned the AC down to like 68 but the actual air temperature never cooled down. It ran for several hours and would not budge below 76. It was also not removing the humidity. The room felt damp and musty. I told the staff and they moved us to a room next door which wasn't much better so they offered us a fan. All the corridors above the first floor were also stuffy and humid. Staff just said, "Yeah, they are, aren't they?" I just don't understand--when you're on a trip you should be able to set the temperature to your liking and comfort. I am not sure if the thermostats are just decorative or if they actually control anything. At home, we prefer 68-69 in the summer, so it was very difficult to sleep in a room that was nearly 10 degrees warmer than we are used to on a nightly basis. Shower is super low-flow or else the plumbing has issues too. It was barely above a trickle. Toilets are very low to the floor. Uncomfortable and weird, and I am a relatively short person. I can't imagine being tall and trying to sit for a few seconds comfortably. Furniture is odd and uncomfortable. I don't think the person who picked it out ever actually tried to sit on it or relax on it. Overly decorative and too modern-looking. A nice recliner or an oversized chair and ottoman would have been a thousand times better and probably much cheaper. I will look elsewhere for a hotel next time I'm in town for an Astros game.

Hotel has great security. Check in was quick, easy and efficient. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are nice. It was about 84 degrees when we got into the room. Did not cool too quick. We asked for pillows and blankets and was given a a sheet and pillow. The room was not excellent (King Suite), it was hot, and the walls are very thin. You can hear everything. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, it is included in your stay.

Nice and spacious hotel, staff were all extremely helpful, no question was too much, eager to please, room was very clean, bed was really comfortable, free bottle water, hotel was also doing complimentary beer and wine with snacks from 5pm - 7pm, we were on vacation so didn't sample the breakfast, but 1 morning I saw the amount being offered and it seemed to be full cooked breakfast plus the usual make your own waffles, quiet location but easy to drive to most places.

The hotel is very nice; close to downtown Houston, and scads of great restaurants nearby; come with your GPS when you stay as Houston is a very large and complex city to maneuver.in. The hotel was superb; the pool is awesome and the staff is very professional and courteous. A great breakfast for the price we paid; and they even have happy hour four evenings a week. And the security of the hotel is great so you need not worry.

Room was clean and nice. People who worked at the hotel were very helpful and great service. Pool is a little small but our kids had a great time in it and it was nice that it was outdoor but mainly shaded from the sun. Breakfast was good. Laundry for guests was the only thing I wouldn't recommend. For being in the city, rooms are very quiet.

Was clean, and all the staff was friendly and helpful. The Full breakfast and happy hour that was included was very accommodating. They also have a shuttle that will take you into town and the drivers are very friendly and helpful as well.

This was the second time to stay here. it is greatly improved. I am in the exploration business and my clients are in the Galleria area and Downtown. It is very convenient. A great environment for relaxation at night and for work space outstanding. The UBS ports in the room are superb! Not many high end chains have this. The breakfast area is clean, clean. Food is freshly prepared and hot. It is a full breakfast menu that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. They even serve Mexican style desayuno on the weekends. I will stay here next time I come to Houston.

We just finished our third stay at this hotel and will keep coming back. It is the best kept secret in downtown Houston. The hotel and rooms are clean, well appointed, and secure. The staff goes out of their way to help you. A big shout out to Dina, who runs the breakfast bar. The food is amazing and she goes out of her way to help you.

Very quiet clean rooms, friendly, helpful staff, great continental breakfast! Would definitely stay again! Pool is a little small, but we were there for business, so it didn't matter. Free "happy hour" drinks were a bonus.

Jackie checked us in at the front desk and she was so friendly and helpful. Jo and all personnel at the desk were excellent and professional. Our room was spacious and clean. We loved having the Keurig coffee, Milano cookies and fresh bottled water daily in the room. The housekeeping staff was excellent and we very much appreciated toothpaste, mouth wash and makeup remover pads daily. Dina and the breakfast kitchen staff went above and beyond daily to serve us nutritious and delicious food. Noe was the helpful engineering guy, always inquiring if we needed anything. This hotel is so well located near downtown and close by to shopping in the Westheimer area. The guarded parking area at night is most appreciated as is their motel shuttle. We recommend this Best Western and have already made reservations for our return trip next time.

This is a great hotel with excellent furnishings and facilities, in a great location. All the staff are really pleasant and welcoming but the star of the show has to be Dina who runs the daily breakfast like clockwork, with her team of colleagues. Dina makes you feel completely at home, has a kind and friendly word to everybody, and really adds that extra something to make your stay a special one. The Mexican breakfast she served was a real bonus, something different to start the day. This lady is an excellent ambassador for Best Western and I hope that the management team pass on my appreciation and thanks to Dina for her unfailing kindness and care for BW's customers. This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel. The first time we stayed for 2 months because my son was in a Houston hospital at that time. During those two months the hotel staff treated me as if I were famiy and it did seem to feel like being home. The staff is friendly, courteous, caring. Jo, Dina and Erica are three of the staff members that made my stay so memorable and comfortable.

I will definitely stay here on my next visit to Houston. The staff here was very friendly. The complementary breakfast and coffee was also a great addition to staying here. Best Western has changed its image inside and out.

This hotel is located off I-45, right at the beginning of Midtown. It wasn't too hard to spot when I exited the freeway. When we got there, there was only one parking space in the front but there was plenty of parking in the back. We decided to stay up front. Upon entering the nicely decorated, bright lobby I was greeted instantly and felt welcome. Check in was easy. When I took the elevator up to the second floor, I noticed right away it was quite humid but living in Houston I am used to that. The room however was very cool and inviting. I loved the bed and the numerous outlets available for use. The wireless Internet was easy to connect to and suited my needs. I booked this hotel for its proximity to White Oak Music Hall (maybe 10 minutes). There is a nice view of the downtown skyline right outside of the hotel and you are very close to midtown and other parts of downtown Houston. As for the hotel itself, it is clean, has a modern look to it, a nice pool area that is outdoors, working elevators, and staff that is friendly. Breakfast was GREAT!! I got my fill!! I will definitely be coming back. Top notch service and comfort for a great price!! I stayed in one of the suites that afforded me a little more room and it was just what I needed.

The hotel is located close to downtown Houston. It's has four levels. there are enough parking and there is a security at night that check the parking lots. and there are number of sit down restaurants that are really close to the hotel The room is clean, enough room to really move around and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast was okay. We are only there for one day so the breakfast worked. For us the main concern is the room and how clean it is, and that it FREE of bugs. We will stay here again.

Compared to the other hotels in the area, this BW is the best value. The staff is very friendly and helpful, parking is free and it is a short walk to downtown. The best value is the free shuttle service in the morning.

The Best Western Plus Downtown Houston exceeded my expectations in every way. Friendly staff and very clean with complimentary on-point amenities that seemed to never end. From the free WiFi, breakfast and happy hour to FREE parking ... unheard of at every other hotel where I stay in other cities. I will definitely book again.

We had a GREAT stay in this hotel. I loved the fact there was a security guard at the front door and you could not go passed until you were checked in. Very comforting. The room was very clean and bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were VERY friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend it to all!!!

Lots of complimentary perks: parking, full hot breakfast, fresh warm cookies, pool towels, laundry detergent, bandaids, and just about anything we asked for. Dina went above the call and whipped up delicious fresh, made from scratch, lemonade. She was so warm and welcoming. The front desk, security and housekeeping staff were equally as friendly. We really enjoyed the H town location of this hotel, so many great sights within walking distance, and the relaxing hospitality while on the grounds. Will definitely return!

This is by far the best Best Western I've stayed at. The staff are warm and friendly, and service was amazing. From the front desk, to the housekeepers, to the shuttle drivers, everyone was so pleasant. The morning breakfast was really good (thank you Dina!), with lots of options including hot and cold eats. The afternoon happy hour was a wonderful perk. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. I enjoyed my stay, and I will stay here again in future trips!

We spent the past three nights at this hotel and were 100% pleased with our stay! Everything about the hotel was great and it was a wonderful place to have our 3 year old. -Spotlessly clean...the rooms, common areas, gym, pool...everything was tidy. -Super friendly staff. Everyone seemed to take great pride in their work. -Great breakfast! Dina made a wonderful Mexican breakfast for us which was delicious! -The rooms had Keurig cups and Milano cookies! -The gym was simple with 2 new treadmills and a great elliptical, and a bench with sets of surprisingly heavy hand weights. Again...spotless in there. -The price was great and we were super close to the museum district and the theater district. We will definitely stay here again!!!

Very nice centrally located hotel within walking distance to downtown. Nice, contemporary decor, beautiful outdoor covered pool and whirlpool. Great hot breakfast. Ice water and coffee/tea available in lobby. Comfortable room with Keurig and sofa. Bottled water and cookies in the room too! There is a local shuttle to downtown as well.

My stay at Best Western was amazing. It was my home for the two weeks that I was in Houston for business. In my time here there was not one person who didn't greet me with a smile or even engage in great conversation. The food was the best I've had in a hotel and the gym just big enough to get some good work done. The location is close to so many things like the bayou park, midtown, downtown, and highway access. Definitely would recommend to anyone

Well located modern hotel that is great value for money. The staff were some of the friendliest hotel staff we came across on our trip. The rooms were super clean daily. The happy hour is also a great bonus!

We made a quick trip for a museum exhibit and I have to say that this Best Western Plus is First Class! From the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff to the cleanliness and classy rooms, we were extremely pleased and this will be our go-to for Houston hotels. Great location as well.

This was a wonderful place to stay, close to good restaurants, very clean and with wonderful staff. The icing on the cake was the beautiful breakfast lady "Dina" The breakfast was just amazing!! Where absolutely fell in love with Dina and will be coming back to BW just to see her again!!

My family is going to Houston convention center for FLL Robotics world festival. Although this hotel is slightly out of walking distance (about 1 mile). The free shuttle that brought us to and from the convention center is really helpful. We enjoyed free breakfast and happy hour snacks. Staffs are friendly

Dina was lovely. She orchestrated the morning meal and made breakfast time special. One morning she had made breakfast tacos. She was tolerant of my attempts to practice Spanish. Dina made the hotel feel like home. 5 stars to Dina.

Our stay at the Best Western was excellent. The room was clean, modern, and spacious. The staff was extremely friendly but especially the breakfast cook, Dina Mendoza. The breakfast was wonderful and she was very helpful!

The rooms have a little wear and tear but they are clean. The pool area is nice as well. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts are fantastic! Many hotels in the area make you pay to park and charge double for a room. I highly recommend this hotel.

I love staying at this hotel. Everyone is kind and courteous and go out of their way to make you feel at home. I take advantage of the shuttle service into downtown so I don't have to worry about parking. Its great in the evenings as well as they will drive you to local restaurants.

We took a group to Houston and we stayed at this hotel for a week. The hotel stay was absolutely fantastic. The rooms were big and modern. They were beautifully clean. The whole hotel was very clean. I stayed for a couple of days by myself before the group arrived and felt very safe the whole time. The shuttle drivers were amazing. We were at a festival at the George brown centre and they would drop us off and pick us up throughout the day. They even had a shuttle on the weekends while we were there which was amazing. A definite draw card of staying at the hotel. The breakfast was great with a good selection of food. The hotel were so accommodating to our group. The staff were absolutely amazing!!!!! I can't speak highly enough of them all. The area around the hotel was fine. We never felt unsafe. There is a restaurant across the road which was quick to walk to and good place to eat. There are also some great restaurants a short time walk away. There is a target about 5 mins drive away. About $8.00 by taxi. I will definitely stay at this hotel again if I'm back in Houston and would definitely recommend it.

We stayed in Room 421 for 8 nights and the suite was extremely clean and nicely scented. My maid vacuumed daily and cleaned the room thoroughly and was so friendly and helpful. Dina, our breakfast server, served a fabulous breakfast buffet every morning and even carried our full plates to a nice clean table and was super friendly and lively. Best Western Plus made us feel right at home. Our suite had a microwave and small fridge and had a sunny southern single window. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. We used Uber app to get around Houston and met a dozen of the best drivers.

I was traveling out to Houston every week far a contracting gig. This was the perfect place to stay. The facility is amazing. The services are great...free breakfast, a hot tub, and a pool... and there is a home-like feeling to the place. The staff are simply second to none. They are all extremely friendly and very helpful which is why I've come out here week after week. My contract period in Texas may be over, but I will miss the amazing service I've had at this Best Western and hope to visit here again when I return to Houston one day. Highly recommended :) !!!

This hotel is centrally located and an overall nice property. What stands out is ALL of the employees that we encountered were professional and friendly. Rooms were clean and well appointed and breakfast was better than average. Will definitely stay here again next time in area.

My room and the rest of the hotel was very clean and I appreciated that the bathroom toiletries included toothpaste. They offered a wide variety of items for breakfast, including fresh fruit. I was nice that they left cookies in the room to go with the coffee I made in the Keurig machine. Most importantly, the staff were so helpful and friendly - the shuttle drivers who transported me to and from my daily training destination (and the assistant manager who picked me up in her own car one day when the shuttle was busy elsewhere), the receptionists who offered suggestions and help when needed, the woman who kept the breakfast area clean and well-stocked.

Comes with a really nice hot breakfast and fresh, warm cookies in early evening. Clean room and very friendly people. Also has a small manager meet & greet around 5 with free beverages. You can walk into downtown from there, but often it is too hot to handle.

This hotel is still excellent. I came here again because of my experience last year. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud. Full set of TV channels. Free parking and shuttle. The shuttle operator, John, is a great guy and made the trip enjoyable. Free WiFi is great. I can stream HD videos with no problems. Free breakfast is one of the best I've seen in a hotel. The pool is very nice. It's outside, but covered.

The location is in the trendy Midtown area with great eateries a few blocks away. We hit up Fuzzys Tacos, Crepes place for a panini and Russos pizzeria on the list for today. Buffalo Bills, Quizno's, Which Wich, Specs, all cpl minutes away. Super easy to reach all parts of town. IAH 25 min away per mapquest, Galleria 15 min, Kemah Boardwalk 40 min. Whole foods was 8 min away w CVS and Pei Wei. Randall's in midtown less than 5 min away. Rooms: clean, large, great linens, clean and standard bathroom, fridge, microwave, solid furniture, nice TV w lots of channels (sports +). Plenty of outlets. Facility: clean welcoming entrance and lobby. Jo was helpful. PM staff was what one would expect from late night staff and friendly. Security guard was onsite Sat PM and monitored the parking lot. Little slow on moving the cones to get us in and out but not a big deal. Nice pool area plenty of parking. Nina was still refreshing breakfast 10:30 and friendly. was a full hot breakfast. Biscuits, scrambled eggs, gravy, potatoes, bacon, sausage, pasties, cereals. Way more than the continental noted on their site and way longer than the sign said they would serve to. Definitely will be our spot anytime in Houston for a few days.

Good value for so close to Downtown and also not too far from the Galleria. Large Clean room. Thermostat controlled AC, adjustable by customer very handy. New TV model which was great and easily available free internet facilities with wif1. Great value overall. Tom

Even though I have stayed at this particular Best Western probably 50 times when oil and gas business was better; the best thing about this past stay besides all the comforts of home; was a security man was posted in front of the hotel. He had cones set up where you could not drive past him without identifying yourself and letting him see your room key. Since I have been broken into twice in Houston at other hotels in 5 years; that extra security precaution made a huge difference to me! I strongly suggest to always do that from now and on. It was very nice not having to worry about getting broken into even though I had never had a problem at this particular hotel.

We chose this Best Western for proximity to ballpark, free shuttle, free breakfast and love the brand. Breakfast was lacking and took awhile to restock when out of items, including coffee. Bed was amazing, didn't want to get up. Quiet even though several families were staying there.

We stayed here to attend the baseball game at Minute MAID PARK. The hotel shuttled us to the game, let us off right in front. Only had to walk across the street. Gave us information on where to eat after the game and the best way back to the hotel. The staff was great. Hotel very clean with great amenities. The breakfast was a full Breakfast, and very good. Will be staying here next year!

We are a family of five that is currently working together to visit all 50 states. In this endeavor, we often stay at Best Western hotels due to the value involved (cost, breakfast, pool, fitness center). We just visited our 37th state, and this Best Western was far and away the best hotel experience we've ever had. The location was perfect (minutes away from the zoo, aquarium, Minute Maid Park.) I've never been in a cleaner hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating at every turn. Variety and quality were available in the fitness center. The breakfast had a wide variety of options, and the breakfast center even had happy hour drinks and snacks in the breakfast room at night. (Very family friendl.) Staff was incredibly helpful. We cannot say enough about the positive experience that was staying in this hotel.

The large rooms, the comfortable beds, the complimentary breakfast, coffee and bottled water. The free shuttles to downtown, the exceptional staff, particularly Jo and both shuttle drivers. The pool and spa. Everything was spotless. Everyone so helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel for families visiting Houston and particularly if you are going to a ball game at Minute Maid Park. Hiring a rental car is easy and with that you can venture to more shopping such as The Galleria and of course the must see Houston Space Centre.

We stayed as a couple for 2 nights in early July. The location was pretty good although not really walking distance to attractions or good places to eat. However this was not a problem because the hotel has a free shuttle service which will take guests anywhere within about a 2 mile radius and the helpful driver John took us to a great supermarket and restaurants during our stay. There is a happy hour every day between 5 and 7 with free drinks on offer - how good is that! The breakfast was very good. We didn't use the pool but it looked inviting and children certainly enjoyed it. I definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly go back on a future visit.

The trips are emotional and tiring as it is, being able to relax and rest after tests is great. Brought the kids this time, the pool and nearby park was fun for them. Service was great to us and the room was good. Kids had a great time despite the purpose of the trip. Parking was tight, but that was not a major factor or us.

Tired of the medical district decided on different area and really glad I did. This best western is amazing. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is the water pressure was to low for my liking. The room was large and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great. Small workout area but efficient. Front desk staff very helpful. Check in and out was very good. Pool outdoors looked really inviting but I did not use it. I will stay here again.

For as close as it is to downtown Houston this is the best value for money I have experienced. I am used to 200-300 a night no matter what for a DT stay and then the DT hotels might add a $20 a day ( about $60 over the weekend). But the Best Western Plus DT Inn and Suites Houston had a better room with great convenience to highways and downtown.

I stayed here due to location. The area immediately around the hotel is not nice, but it is close to downtown without being directly in downtown. Very easy to get to and from. A few blocks south is an area they are revitalizing that is trendy with great places to eat. I stayed for business and my main criteria for hotels on business is: ease of access, cold room, and quiet. This matched all of those and I would stay here again for business in the area.

I stayed here on business and pleasantly surprised with amenities, cleanliness and service! Also the location was perfect. Beds most comfortably so don't pull down black out shades or you will not want to get out of bed in morning. Will definitely be back on next business trip.

Our family of four stayed here from 6/27-7/1. We have two toddlers so a vacation of any kind is slightly challenging. The pool was highlight and also the breakfast buffet. There was a large selection of both hot and cold food, for both the adults and kids. Will definitely stay at this same hotel the next time we visit Houston.

We recently completed a one week stay at this best western hotel. The staff were absolutely wonderful and just to name a few, Edgar, Aliya and Jo at the front desk were very well friendly, polite, helpful and accommodating. Sandra and the breakfast room staff were fantastic. The food was very good. Sandra with housekeeping was also especially helpful and did an excellent job. This hotel has happy hour with good snacks and complimentary beer, soda and wine from 5 to 7 PM Monday through Thursday. We found this to be really helpful for our busy travel schedule. The location is very convenient to the downtown shopping and restaurants. The parking at the hotel is very secure with a guard on duty. The hotel also has an excellent exercise area and a beautiful pool area which is half covered and an attractive fountain. They also have a business area and meeting rooms. We found the beds to be very comfortable and the rooms were spacious and well-kept. We were on the first floor and we never heard any outside noise, the location is very quiet. We think the total overall package is very reasonably priced. We did not take advantage of the hotel shuttle because we had our own vehicle. The hotel shuttle is a great advantage for people without a vehicle and it services the immediate area very well.

Ok..so normally best western is a reliable brand..but this place? perhaps a bad night and noting that cant be fixed: room above had stomping kids - had to call front desk twice....between midnight and 1 am....folks, if youre gonna take your kids, a little consideration is always a good thing.,....then the card key stopped working....then the fire alarm went off tis morning, and my nicebreakfast came with two long blonde hairs...... in other words - just about ever angle there was something that told a poor story. as I said, nothing major...but add it all up, and management is missing something.

My family of 4 stayed at this hotel to attend the Copa America soccer games. The hotel's location was a convenient drive to NRG, the museum district and downtown. The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was good and the Mon - Thurs Happy Hour for guests was a pleasant surprise. I also did like the fact that the parking entrances and exits are blocked at night with a security guard checking to see if you are a guest in order to let you into the lot. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a laid back hotel, just about a 5 min walk from downtown. Staff was nice, room clean, ammenities replaced daily when needed. a fridge and micro are available for your convenience and it was really nice to go back to the hotel during happy hour time to find these delicious white chocolate cookies and chicken burgers. They have coffee to go at all times and also a shuttle service to downtown in the morning (check times with reception). I'd definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at this particular hotel several times, Mostly because of its location. Its near downtown area and at times you can find it for a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly and courteous. They have security during the nighttime.

We travel every year to see the Red Sox play in different cities. The Best Western was the best hotel we have stayed in! The room was spacious, the staff was friendly, welcoming and fantastic, the breakfast was varied and delicious! We loved it! We were just over a mile away from the stadium and walking distance to the aquarium, and the shuttle took us to the train station to go to the zoo. I was very fond of the fresh baked cookies served every day and especially for the 24 coffee station. I would certainly go to a Best Western again.

I have stayed in this hotel four days a week for over a year. This is one of the best properties close to downtown and they have a shuttle to take you anywhere downtown you need to go. The people are friendly and do everything they can to make you welcome and comfortable.

First visit to Houston and I was not disappointed by the Best Western PLUS Downtown Inn & Suites. The staff was extremely helpful in recommending where to eat to arranging a car to airport upon check -out. The breakfast was delicious and the in room treats were a delightful surprise. Awesome is the best way to describe this hotel. They have lovely breakfast which is free, also happy hour which has beer/wine and food. The atmosphere is great and is literally 2min from downtown. The staff was great for the most part my only complaint would be on Jo the morning person clerk, she has a horrible attitude and doesn't seem to care about anything but herself. On the other hand the evening people Aliyah and Devon are awesome, matter of fact great just so attentive and courteous. These two should defiantly get a raise or incentive for all the work they do. Overall everything was great for the price we spent. Just work on the old lady in the morning she is so grumpy, maybe she didn't get her prune juice that day. Great place, will be back.

This was one of the best hotels I've stayed at. The staff was so incredibly accommodating, the entire hotel was clean, the bed was the best bed I ever slept on (I need to find out who the manufacturer is!), the breakfast selection was extensive, bottled water, happy hour, shuttle (the shuttle driver was so patient and helpful, kudos to him), close to downtown, delightful pool. I cannot say enough about this hotel! Maybe they have to try harder...? They're doing a great job!!

A quiet little place on the edge of downtown Houston offering easy access to both the business district and yet only a few minutes from the Medical Center (via West Dallas to Montrose to Fannin). Clean, large rooms, decent breakfast and a nice little happy hour on weekdays. Excellent, professional staff, especially Jo who is an absolute angel. Definitely worth the money.

Evverythiong was excellent. I don't mind doing a survey, but suggest that you make it shorter. I was wlell pleased with the experience at the hotel. This takes too long to complete. I would suggest that you eliminate this part.

We stayed here for a bachelorette party. The rooms were large and accommodating, beds were comfortable, parking and internet and breakfast were free which were all great, and overall experience was excellent. Great location for us as it was conveniently located close to downtown and many other relevant areas to visit.

This hotel is great! The breakfast is hot and there are lots options. The pillows are amazing and the beds are very cozy. This is the second time I have stayed at this location and I will definitely be back the next time I travel to Houston.

My daughters and I were in town for a weekend and found this hotel to be very convenient, nice sized rooms, lovely breakfast, good amenities, pleasant staff, and very good mattress. So, you're wondering what my problem was? First, the ironing board had to be held up with one hand as it was very rickety. I can understand that there would not be a way for management to know that unless someone mentioned to them. My chief complaint was that there was no Gideon bible in the drawer. Yielding to the PC does not do it for me.

I'm a frequent staycay girl in my hometown of Houston, and I can't believe I hadn't stayed here before! Rooms are more than spacious and probably the cleanest I've ever encountered. Literally every employee I came across was delightful, and very happy to help. We enjoyed more amenities than most hotels, this property feels nothing like the Best Westerns I've stayed in the past. Hot continental breakfast served in the lobby with view of the cozy pool was very peaceful. I doubt I'll stay anywhere else again.

Stayed there for the Houston Rodeo Cookoff 2016 and it was very nice. Staff was very nice and my room was very clean. I will be staying there again. The hot tub was so much fun. Spent four days in Houston and this hotel really added to our enjoyment. My grandkids LOVED the spacious rooms. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and quick to respond to all our inquiries. This place exceeded my expectations. The street itself is a little desolate, but the location is surprisingly convenient; you can walk to downtown, and they also will take you up to 3 miles on a shuttle bus. Clean rooms and better breakfast than your average Best Western. Free parking. Decent wifi. Really, it has everything you need.

The rooms are clean. Bathroom well stocked and clean. Nice sitting area. The beds are very comfortable. It is a bit further from Convention Center and Minute Maid park but price difference was worth it.

Plunging oil prices have hurt my income and destroyed the value of the Canadian dollar so our usual four star budget was out of the question. We needed a great deal. Everything worked out perfectly for us here. The location is fine, it isn't literally downtown in my opinion, it is on the other side of the freeway from the major downtown skyscrapers but turned out to be central for the museums, zoo, and the restaurants and bars we wanted to visit. If you have funds the museum district would be my suggestion for tourists. Everything we wanted to do was within a 15 minute drive, or under a $7 Uber ride to our favorite bar (The Anvil Bar). We felt the area was safe and respectable, there are some nice homes nearby and lots of new construction on the go in the area. We did not see ANY "crack heads" or other down and out looking people around the hotel. There appears to be some people living under the overpasses but I did not see any evidence of problems for the hotel. A couple of locals suggested we don't walk around the area after dark, we didn't try that, but while driving back in the late evening we didn't see anything to be concerned about. We noticed quite a few business people staying here also, it is a short cab ride to the main business areas. What attracted me to this hotel other than the low rate was the "book now pay later" policy (I hate full payment in advance with no cancellation), free Wi-Fi, free parking, free breakfast, and no resort fee. The breakfast is above average for this kind of hotel. The food is not as salty as some places, they keep the volume of food low and stay on top of the supply so we always got fresh food and nothing was empty. The coffee is quite good too and they have cups to go. Our room was very clean and in good condition. The TV is very large are the picture quality is one of the best we have seen in a chain hotel. The bedding is very good quality and felt clean and new. The toiletries are better than we usually see in hotels like this. I liked having a safe in the room. They have a Keurig coffee maker in the room and cookies. The cookies in the lobby are better. The staff are great, we got immediate friendly service and have no complaints. The hotel has a pleasant "air" about which is mainly due to the staff. It is about 30 minutes dive to IAH. The restaurant options within a 15 minute drive are endless. We will be staying here when in town next time. .

I always stay here since it's so close to everything - but you'll pay for it. Best Western isn't usually a pricey place so it must be the location. Rooms are large so that's nice. Make sure you don't get a room by the lobby though - it's noisy all night. The staff can be great or annoying - it's hit or miss. But I do keep going back.

We love staying at this hotel. The location is excellent; the hotel is always clean. The staff at the hotel is usually so great. However, upon checking in on 12/28/15, the desk clerk, Alyia, was not friendly and acted as if we were bothering her. She was totally distracted by her phone and would not look up from it. This was really disheartening because we have never had a bad experience with staff until this visit.

I recently stayed for business, and all of the staff was friendly and accommodating! I took the shuttle that this location provides, Daniel, the driver was easy to talk to, and a good driver. The breakfast was great, and the wifi was free too! Would recommend it!

Wonderful staff and housekeeping! This is truly a non smoking facility. The rooms are large, nicely furnished, beds are comfortable, coffee in room, refrigerator, microwave, large screen TV and high speed internet, wifi great. Wonderful breakfast no need to drive anywhere, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravy, French toast, waffles, cereal, bagels, other pastries, fruit, coffee and juice. Lots of seating to enjoy your breakfast and a 2nd lobby area to just sit and visit or relax. We have stayed at a lot of hotels this is our new favorite here. Did I mention you don't hear any doors opening and closing? You can really have a good nites sleep! Plenty of parking.

We have just loved our stay here! It is a beautiful hotel. The staff has been friendly and the entire hotel is spotless! Our room is so clean and housekeeping is very courteous. The continental breakfast was quite the spread. The Buffalo Park was extremely close and added a beautiful bonus on my morning run, looking at the skyline of the city surrounded by the beauty of the park. Stayed at this hotel a few times this year and have loved it every time. Hotel is in middle of everything without being in the middle of chaos. This is the closest hotel to both the Heights and Midtown nightlife, but away from all the noise. Super clean, great service...I'll def be back!

We were in town for a convention and the headquarters hotel was full. We spent 5 nights here and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was pretty good. They have a downtown shuttle during the week and the driver was very helpful taking us back and forth to our meetings. The 2 minor complaints I have are the water pressure on the 4th floor leaves something to be desired and a couple of mornings, there were tortillas instead of biscuits for the gravy at breakfast. Would I stay here again? You bet I would!

enjoyed this hotel. very convenient to my business. nicely appointed for price, large room, wifi good, good tv and channel seclection, breakfast is a plus. one issue- my bed , on one side, seemed very worn and had kind of a hole i kept slipping into.

This hotel sits a couple of blocks from the main hub of downtown Houston so it is quiet, no hassle parking and reasonably priced. The sleeping rooms are very nice, roomy and comfortable. However it has no restaurant or bar and there is no restaurant within a half mile of the place. Staff was friendly if a bit lackadaisical. Very laid back attitud generally. I don't know if I'd stay here again given the lack of dining options. Breakfast was not very good.

Highly Recommend to anyone staying in the Downtown Area! Great Value - recently renovated - super clean - just wish there were more places to eat closer to the hotel location. Other than that - GREAT staff as well, always eager to help with any request & the shuttle they provide to anyplace within the downtown was fantastic!

upon arrival at check-in, I was greeted by an older lady who was very grumpy and was on a cell phone call when I walked in (thinking I was interrupting a personal call). She then covered her cell phone microphone with her hand and asked what I wanted, and before I could even tell her that I wanted to check in, she interrupted me and said...Well if you are here to check in its too early and you can't check in until 3, then I told her...ok then to which she responded that she might be able to check me in after 1 pm (and it was barely around 10:30 or 11 a.m. or so) and told me that there was nothing she could do...so I didn't make a big deal out of it and simply asked her, her name to which she responded "Joe", short for Josephine and said I would be back then...after I cam back her attitude changed, but first impressions are usually the best ones...remember that

During the recent flood and storms in Houston, I had to leave my home for repairs. This is by far, the most friendly and comfortable hotel I have stayed in. The large rooms beat the Hyatt Regency and Hilton-Americas in downtown Houston for space and comfort at less than half the cost.

Great Wifi speed: 29.26 down, 48.72 up. Breakfast would have been average BW, except this BW served BACON and French Toast (which is not average BW). Staff were great and friendly. My employer was paying the bill, so price was not a problem with me. I did think the price was a little too high. Probably related to downtown location.

When your alone you can stay close to downtown Houston. A flat rate for a taxi will take you anywhere downtown. The rooms are super clean & comfortable. The staff along with housekeeping do a wonderful job. The breakfast is good enough to get your day started. The metro rail is just a taxi ride away. There really is nothing nearby the hotel so be prepared drive to where you need to go. Walking is a problem with homeless downtown you never can be to sure of who might be there. So with that enjoy you stay.

Large, comfortable, clean rooms. This Best Western is our go-to for any downtown Houston event/activity. Breakfast was good and eating area was clean; the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. We will definitely be back.

I have been staying at Best Western Plus since they opened near Downtown many years ago. The rooms are large; comfortable; decorated nicely; they have a good breakfast; the staff is nice and very accommodating; and basically it is an excellent place to stay. Besides that, the access to all major freeways is another reason I like to stay in this particular hotel. You will not be let down staying here.

I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at Best Western recently. I had a last minute business trip scheduled to Houston and none of the typical hotel chains that I frequent had availability. The Best Western downtown Houston was very clean and well-maintained, the hotel room was very spacious and inviting and the bed was extremely comfortable. I typically stay in 3.5-4 star hotels on business but will be rethinking that approach when my plans take me back to Houston. I definitely received an exceptional value for what I paid.

After finding out our booking at doubletree was for another place we ended up here before flying out. The gal at the front desk was awesome. It was raining buckets out and we had no car. She told us about a Chinese restaurant next door. Great help here. Thanks

Great hotel, awesome location, within walking distance to downtown. They have guest laundry in a couple different places at the hotel. Nice large rooms, very clean and comfortable suites. Great hot breakfast, included French Toast as well as Biscuits and Gravy. Plenty of parking. Cleaning staff was very nice and polite. Front desk staff was very polite and helpful when needed. Internet was fast and reliable.

Overall great hotel and cleanliness. Shuttle driver was on time and very professional. All staff were helpful and friendly. Nice indoor pool which was perfect for relaxing after a day full of meetings. Breakfast was delicious and was fresh. Eating area was clean and there is plenty of space to eat. Rooms were big and cozy. Slept like a baby.

The beds are more comfortable than many more pricey hotels in the area. Nice clean property, close to town with the added bonus of free parking. Staff is friendly and they actually read the special request notes on the reservation. You can't go wrong with this choice!

We stayed here for a couple of nights on out first visit to Houston. The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful as we were welcomed by Erica & Aliya & later by Lezlie which was a good start to any first time in an hotel. The whole place was immaculate and a nice touch which I had never come across before was to find the TV controller in a sanitized pouch as was the spare blankets. The huge King sized bed was very comfortable & although the hotel is very closely situated near to one of the major free-ways it was surprisingly quiet inside. There is a free shuttle service running weekdays only which was a disappointment but we had luckily chosen a busy weekend due to an important baseball match taking place all weekend and so they did run the shuttle for a short time. John who was one of the drivers was so helpful to us and went out of his way to advise and take us "Down-town" on his day off which was greatly appreciated. Breakfast is included and is adequate being a self style buffet with a small selection of hot and cold dishes. However it was quite a surprise to have paper crockery and plastic cutlery ! It obviously cuts down on the washing up and perhaps is part of the cleanliness regime but it did seem a tad strange. Check out the weekend rates as this is primarily a business hotel and therefore better value then but of course one doesn't have the advantage of the free shuttle.

I came for a conference at the George R. Brown convention center. This hotel is convenient and has a free shuttle. The hotel is very clean and modern. The room looks new. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud. The breakfast is great. The pool is clean and covered from the sun. I love the waterfall into the pool. The hot tub was very relaxing.

We stay at this Best Western every time we're in Houston visiting our daughter. We are always completely satisfied with everything about this hotel. It's quiet, the beds are great, & they offer a happy hour every weekday afternoon with snacks! The pool is tiny, so don't plan on swimming laps, but the relaxing quality of the waterfall is an extra bonus.
