« My Favorite Best Western! »

This Best Western Plus exceeded my expectations in so many ways. The location is just perfect. I highly recommend the balcony rooms overlooking the mighty Columbia River. The bathroom was large and the bed was comfortable. The staff was professional and friendly despite being sold out as apparently they are most every day. What really surprised me was the hotel restaurant, which serves some of the best food in the area. We had a lovely dinner with river views. The fish was fresh and prepared to perfection. Breakfast was also delicious. If ever in Hood River again, I will most certainly stay here!

Second visit here. Lovely hotel, beautiful location, and extremely friendly staff from front desk to restaurant to housekeeping staff. Loved having door to room stay open when wrestling luggage cart into room and that there were two luggage racks. The only area for improvement would be the food in the restaurant--good, but could be better. Highly recommend when visiting the Gorge.j

    « Great Property »

It is the little things that create a great stay from what might have been a good stay. Friendly efficiency from the staff from check in to check out. The attached restaurant is located on the banks of a beautiful river. The menu and service levels are excellent. The little things that made a difference...two luggage racks in the room and a night light. These are on top of a room with a riverside view, good bed, lots of hot water and very clean. It all made us feel very welcome. We can certainly recommend this property.

    « A Nice Surprise »

My husband and I stayed at this facility while driving through the Columbia River Gorge to Portland. It's centrally located with close proximity to dining and shopping and has a great river front location with nicely landscaped grounds and walking paths. Our room was clean, quiet and spacious with a balcony overlooking the river. There is a restaurant and bar on sight where we ate dinner and breakfast. The service was very poor and disorganized - slow and customers seated after us were waited on before us. And the food was only room temperature at best.

« Great location and view »

Comfortable room with an oddly high ceiling and tall windows - shaded from the sun! This is a sprawling place with a good restaurant, I could wish the prices were lower but the town is really a destination now!

    « Great hotel! »

Great hotel with AWESOME VIEWS!! The beds were extremely comfortable and I have nothing but good things to say about the Best Western. The staff was great, it was a few miles from the downtown area and it was an easy access right off of the freeway. When I have the pleasure of going back to Hood River, I will definitely stay at the Best Western again.

    « Dependable comfort »

Have been staying at this place for 6+ years, always clean, professional staff, everything we need and very pet friendly. Great breakfast and wonderful restaurant experience, love the view of the river.

« Fabulous view of Columbia River from our room »

Very happy with our stay at this Inn. Fabulous view of Columbia River and the rooms were very nice and clean. I truly have no complaint. We wanted to stay longer. The Riverside Cafe was fabulous. So surprised to find out it was rated the top restaurant in Hood River by trip advisor. It lived up to its rating. Close to the Columbia river gorge.

    « Great experience »

Situated on the Columbia river side this inn has exceptional view, so we picked junior suite on the third floor. There is a small fridge and microwave in a room. Very large bathroom with shower and the bath tub. An additional sink and countertop was well thought. There is a sofa and a chair in a partialy divided living area. Nice balcony would be lovely to use it on a warm day. Breakfast is included and it's served in a restaurant, very good value! Excellent king size bed and no need for ear plugs which were included in the amenities.

    5
« Lovely room and grounds »

Room was spacious with fireplace and balcony. Had a resort feel. View of Columbia River was spectacular. Restaurant was extremely good. Even had gluten free bread that was very good. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Would return and recommend.

    « Fantastic stay »

We always stay at best westerns as we travel, and we travel a lot! This is the best one we have experienced. The rooms are nicely done, the pool is really nice, the fitness facility looks out over the pools and river, and the restaurant /bar are very well done. We were surprised to see the wine spectator award in the restaurant, and the prime rib night in the lounge was both busy and fun, and, excellent in every respect. The staff is very helpful at this hotel and its location along the Columbia river is top notch. All in all, we would strongly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back!

    « Great stay! »

We stayed one night in Hood River for a weekend getaway. After spending the day exploring the area and enjoying the fall colors we had a relaxing evening at the Hood River Best Western. Our room, which was on the third floor, was very clean, comfortable and modern. While there was noise from the freeway when outside the hotel, inside it was quiet. We enjoyed the river view from our balcony and relaxing in the hot tub in the evening. The free breakfast was delicious. My home made granola was warm from the oven, drizzled with honey and topped with Greek yogurt. My husband and son enjoyed their French toast and home fries. Great overall experience, we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

« Great staff, nice views from room and the breakfast at the restaurant over looking the Columbia river was excellent »

This hotel exceeded our expectations and was a plesent surprise. Probably the nicest part of the stay was having breakfast at the restaurant and watching the sunrise over the Columbia river. Instead of a breakfast bar, the hotel allowed you to order from 7 items on the menu and they were all very nice selections. Both the front desk staff and restaraunt staff were very attentive and accomadating. The hotel does allow dogs in certain sections so if you do not want to hear an occasional bark, tell the front desk so you can be placed away from the dogs.

    « Great breakfast »

We visit hood river twice a year and always stay here. Nice bar on the river and breakfast is included. Several plated choices and delicious. Starbucks nearby. The rooms are nice with updated bedding.

    5
« Great View with Amazing Breakfast »

Being right on the Columbia river makes this hotel a great place to relax. The hot tub and heated pool that overlook the river are perfect day or night. The river view patio rooms are great if you have a dog as you can walk right out your patio to grass and a walkway along the river. The included breakfast with 10 options to order is awesome!

« Short last minute overnight in Hood River »

Hood River Inn is our favorite place in Hood River. Right on the Columbia, with probably the best restaurant in town, year around outdoor pool and hot tub. I believe the concrete around the pool is heated. Rooms with view, a must. Other rooms will overlook the parking lot. Walk way along the river can take you to local sites. We never get there during the summer, only seems like Fall and Spring. Told my husband we need to visit this summer. to enjoy the deck and maybe do some water sports.

    5
    « Hood River Getaway »

We've stayed at this hotel more than a few times in the past but always stayed in the suites. This is the first time we stayed in the main hotel. Excellent accommodations on the river side. Great staff and dining options.

« Great place to stay and visit. »

We were so pleased with our room and service that we extended our vacation an extra day in Hood River. Hotel is great and the City is a fun place to just spend time and visit the area. Will definitely return.

    « Great Experience »

The view was outstanding, looking up the picturesque Columbia River Valley. From the outset, the staff was cordial, friendly, discreet, and efficient. The room was well appointed, and contained the proper amenities. Dinner and breakfast were from the attached "Riverside". It was an outstanding experience, with excellent wait-staff, and well thought out and prepared food. Despite the positives, the Lobby and interiors were a bit dated.

« Great stay for Hood River Event »

We stayed at the Best Western while in town for a wine tasting dinner. We had a waterfront room and it was very upscale. We generally stay at Best Westerns when traveling but this facility is several steps above the typical BW. The staff, service and restaurant were all top drawer. We highly recommend a stay here. You won't be disappointed!

« Great stay with business associates »

We stayed here mid-week and all three of us were very impressed. I had a parking lot room and the other two had river side rooms with a view they said they enjoyed. My room was large and comfortable. Quick internet. Good iron. It was quiet and I slept like a baby. I loved the towels, they were huge, almost like beach towels but thick and plush, I told my wife we needed towels like this at home. We had a couple of cocktails after dinner in town in the surprisingly busy bar for mid-week in Hood River. Quick service and good drinks. As most have said, a great breakfast, especially for a 'continental' style breakfast. Eat there with confidence! I have also eaten lunch from time to time at their restaurant and have always it. This is the first time I've stayed the evening, and I'd gladly stay again!

    « Great hotel »

This is about as nice of a best western as I've stayed at. Great rooms. Nice pool, even in November. Riverview if you want it. Included breakfast was fantastic. Beds were comfy. Good bar and restaurant. No complaints whatsoever. Even close to a Starbucks! What more do you need?

    3
« Large hotel with beautiful view of river »

Large, multiple building hotel on river. Our room was a garden room, half in basement. Bed was comfortable. They provide two luggage racks - yea! No plug-ins beside bed - boo! Big refrigerator. Full bath plus another sink outside the bath. Very noisy air conditioner that blows directly at the head of the bed.

    4
    « Unexpected Gem »

This hotel is along the river so if you are lucky you can get a river view room. The rooms are updated and clean. There is a lovely walking path along the river before dinner. The restaurant in this hotel proved to be an unexpected gem. They use local organic products and the dinners were memorable. This was an unplanned stop but we were not sorry that we decided to stay.

    5
« Best breakfast with a beautiful view. »

We were so pleasantly surprised when we went to breakfast at this wonderful hotel. The breakfast room was most comfortable and the view of the Columbia river and the Washington hillside was awesome. The waitstaff was prompt and very courteous along with a large choice of tasty choices. This is not your typical buffet, but a sit down situation with many gluten free picks available. Check the menu on line, and you will be amazed. The fitness room is bright and airy with nice machines.

« Great price, great setting, great breakfast »

Spent the weekend with wife and friends tasting wine. We didn't bother with a 'destination' hotel because we were only going to be there to sleep. As it happens, the BW on Hood River was terrific ... and cheap! Clean, comfortable room, free internet, in-room coffee maker. The coffee was hot and brownish. If that bar is too low, bring your own coffee. We never eat in hotel restaurants, especially the complimentary breakfast. But we had a rushed morning so we made an exception. And the breakfast was exceptionally good. This was not the typical day-old muffin and rubber eggs. We ordered off a menu offering selections such as corned beef hash and eggs, eggs benedict, and French toast. It wasn't Eggs Sardou at Brennan's, but it was very good with eggs cooked precisely as ordered. Staff is friendly and competent. Ample parking. Dogs accepted (there may be an extra charge). This place gets the JT Seal of Approval.

    « Excellent »

We found ourselves here at the last minute and what luck. The receptionist, Adam, check us in with swift efficiency. He was polite and friendly. He honored our requests and was a font of information. The public area were well maintained and well decorated. Our room was beautifully decorated and was spotless. The bed was lump free. The sheets were white and crease free. The bedroom was spacious with ample lighting to create your own ambient atmosphere. There is a fire in the room. This I felt gave it a relaxed atmosphere. There are chairs that create a vignette. The balcony was spacious and enabled you to see the most beautiful views. The bathroom was large, spotless with white soft towels. There was good quality complimentary bath products. I would stay here again.

« Nice hotel, but with caveats »

We recently stayed two nights at this hotel, a location that we had enjoyed several years ago. The hotel is very nice, with terrific views of the Columbia River. We stayed in a King Room River View with Balcony, and it was very nice. It could easily rate five stars, except for the following caveats. The sliding door and window lacked adequate soundproofing, and the screen door needed to be repaired or replaced. As a result of the inadequate window and balcony door soundproofing, we could hear traffic from the nearby highway (despite what some previous reviewers have indicated). The hotel restaurant was excellent, and hotel staff courteous and friendly. So, while I give the hotel a strong recommendation, I also recommend that hotel management improve the condition described above - a room at this high a price should be properly maintained.

« Outstanding..great room, view, food and service »

Years ago we avoided Best Western Hotels. They have really stepped it up and seem to have upgraded the quality and value of their properties. They upgraded us to a suite without my even asking. The view is beautiful. We ate in their Riverside restaurant. The meal was the best one of our entire trip. Out of 9 days of travel we stayed at 3 Best Western. They were all good.

    4
    « Great location »

We went there for a wedding on the actual Mount Hood. The dinner the night before was at the hotel and very good, large room facing the river, and balcony if you wanted to be outside.Staff very attentive. Breakfast a little less exciting and we felt hurried a bit because there was a line of other people waiting. The surrounding was wonderful , great place to hike, and visiting the wonderful town is not to be missed. There was lot of activity on the river, like paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming and other fun things.

« Hotel Gets It All Right »

Located on the Columbia River, this Best Western does everything right! The room is spacious and comfortable with enough seating for 3 people; rooms are quiet; quality furnishings starting with the Douglas Fir doors. The restaurant on site is run by a professional chef. The food is fabulous at all meals! Morning breakfast is included in the rate. Your breakfast is ordered off the menu and does not include the powdered, scrambled eggs so common at most hotels who include breakfast in the room rate. The restaurant has a great view of the Columbia River as do the river view rooms. I have nothing negative to say about this motel!

    5
« Good hotel, great river side view »

Very clean and comfortable hotel. Good restaurant, helpful staff. good food at reasonable prices. The third floor rooms facing the river are a little pricey, but have an excellent view and the room was clean and a step up from a lot of hotels. This is definitely a place to consider if staying in Hood River.

    3
« Pricey for what you get »

Our room was a waterfront room with the extra pricing for same. It was on the first floor with shrubbery obstructing view of the Columbia River and right next to a main door with our patio sitting next to trafficking ingress and egress. If you want a river view, request the 3 rd floor, which has patios and try to get on the end units near the pool / exercise room. The 2nd floor does not have patios/decks. -- The food was quite good. -- The photo is from the restaurant balcony -- NOT our room!

    5
« A great location in Hood River & perfect for pets »

This is one of the best hotels in the area - pet friendly (clean, no odors whatsoever) rooms that overlook the Columbia river and patio doors that open onto a grass area near the docks. We stayed in a room with two queen beds and it was a good size room with large bath and extra sink/vanity just outside it. The restaurant serves very good food and large portions. We will be back!

    5
    « Excellent Hotel »

This was an excellent room at an excellent price. The outdoor pool and hot tub overlook the river and were pleasant in late October. Not sure about the winter months! Dinner and breakfast were both really good as well. We'd definitely stay here again if in the area.

    5
    « Great Value - »

Good location. Rooms were clean and roomy with microwave and refrigerator. Breakfast was outstanding - made to order, not a buffet. Labelled gluten free options on the menu. Wait staff very knowledgeable which made me feel safe to eat there.

« Continues to disappoint- No more chances »

I love Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge. It's spectacular place with unbelievably friendly people. We come here from Portland as often as possible. The Hood River Inn is very conveniently located and there aren't lots of lodging options in Hood River. The hotel itself is Ok. It's starting to show its age just a little bit with dings on furniture, some paint chips and a dirty shower curtain. But where the problem comes is dealing with Best Western's website, the hotels reservation people and the rewards program. I tried to make my reservation online, but there was no option to pay for it with my rewards points. So, I call the hotel to make the reservation. They took my credit card to hold the reservation, but was told I would just tell them to redeem my points when I check out and I would be good to go. Of course, that was not the case when I went to check out. First the front desk couldn't understand the situation. Someone said they would call Best Western, while I had breakfast. When I returned they told me that Best Western told them I didn't have rewards points. So, that I would have to pay with my credit card. So, I got on the phone with Best Western. I spoke with 3 or 4 people over the period of an hour wasting my vacation time. This is the 3rd or 4th time that I have stayed at the Hood River Inn that something like this has happened. Despite the fact that they eventually used my points to pay for my stay, the fiasco that always happens just isn't worth it. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING AT THE HOOD RIVER INN EVER AGAIN! Fortunately, there is a brand new Hampton Inn that just opened up at the marina. I'll be trying it or a house rental in the area during my visit.

    5
    « Another great stay! »

Stayed overnight to enjoy the harvest fest and some of the local wineries. We were upgraded to a room with a view and the staff and hotel are always top notch. The complimentary breakfast is high quality and you always get free coffee. Would definitely recommend.

« Paid for riverview; worth it. »

Four of us in two rooms: 368 was across the hall--had a parking lot view. There was an up-charge for # 371, the river view room, so I'll comment on 371: Pros: Bath was clean: grout and caulking were above average Nice-sized refrigerator w/ temperature control at front/easy to regulate. Ample lamps and chairs; two luggage racks. Electronic keys that you only have to 'pass by' the lock to open the door. HVAC fan can be set to run continuously for white-noise :) Cons: Deck is deteriorating/rotten boards, screws loose. Door-closers were out of adjustment and would allow the neighbor's doors to slam. The window above the deck door was fogged, so looked dirty. Front desk staff: some seemed to be in training: slow and easily confused. We asked to split the bill and that was difficult for one of the staff. Dining on the deck was enjoyable but service was slow.

« Top of my list places to stay. »

Manager made sure I was satisfied with our room. Dinner and then breakfast were outstanding, both by service and the food, were great!! The setting on the river and the grounds, make it so relaxing....did I mention the hot tub??? When we left, felt like had been at a mini spa. Every single person was cheerful and helpful!!!

« Friendly service, nice view »

Great value, river view rooms best as in front is a McDonald's and a Shell station. Great breakfast included. Very helpful and friendly staff. Dated but clean and thoughtful design. Hot tub and swimming pool available which was very private as no one else was using it.

« Repeat Stay - Still Best in Town »

Recently had a repeat stay at the Hood River Best Western and this was the best stay yet. I travel extensively and this is the best Best Western level hotel that I have stayed at. The hotel, accomodation and rooms are above standard but the stand out is the people and the service. From the front desk to the Resturant, the service level was excellent this trip. This is when the hotel was fully booked and there was more than one conference going on simultaneously. One example was a request to move my room to one with a view of the river. The staff gave this special attention, they could not accomodate all nights, however moved me in and out, seamlessly, so I could enjoy a river view room for most of the stay. I have stayed many times in Hood River and recommend the Hood River Best Western.

    4
    « Great location »

This is a great place to stay as a base to explore Hood River and the Columbia Gorge Scenic area. While the hotel is situated in a strip mall setting with gas stations and fast food joints It's right on the river and features comfortable rooms, a waterfront restaurant with outdoor terrace and decent food and good customer service. My husband and I enjoy the rooms in the East Wing with a waterfront view. But recently we had a room in the West Wing with a connecting door that lacked adequate sound insulation from the adjacent room. The noise from next door was impossible to ignore and the hotel was unable to relocate us. The good news is that the hotel management offered us a complementary night's stay to compensate for that problem. So I would recommend this hotel, just not the West Wing.

    3
    « Nice River Views »

Rooms facing river provide nice views. Room we had in east wing had nice, firm king size bed and was spacious and clean. Property abuts river walk which you can take into Hood River's business district. Restaurant on site if you don't feel like traveling far. Restaurant has good soups and nice grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. Serves breakfast and dinner also.Only negative is it is 2.2 miles from business district and really nothing else around hotel property except two gas stations with convenience stores and a Starbucks

    5
« Lovely view of Columbia River »

We were on ground floor, looking out on the River. Very nice. Quiet at night, no problems with noise. Had heard that some places in Hood River are next to the train tracks so we avoided those. Breakfast was excellent, better than the usual that comes with the room.

    5
« The Best Best Western, Hood River, OR »

Without a doubt it ranks as our favorite Best Western to date. The location is gorgeous and the hotel itself is a cut above the rest. Our corner suite was perfectly comfortable with a view of the Hood River Bridge. Don't miss a visit to the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum. A must while in Hood River. Also visit the Cascade Locks and Multnomah Falls.

    4
    « Clean hotel »

Had a nice view of the river. We were there on vacation for a night and the town had a fair. Prices were inflated unfortunately. Staff was friendly Friday night too crowded to eat at hotel although after eating breakfast there the next morning we should have waited. Complimentary breakfast was very good (ordered off the menu) so that helped balance the overpriced room. Room temperature was horrible, needs a fan for circulation. We didn't sleep well bed hard and room hot.

    5
    « Probably a tad too expensive ... »

I booked this hotel rather last minute and thought it was a little pricey at $300/night but decided to book because it was pet friendly and I wanted to have a nice place for my parents to stay and there were little alternatives in Hood River. This property is Best Western PLUS which means that it's a higher quality hotel than a regular Best Western. At the time of our stay, it was towards the very end of a 3 week road trip so I did have a lot to compare to and it will say that the room is only slightly better than your average 3 star hotel at $150/night. Our room was facing the water which IS quite lovely and it was definitely nice to have a grassy yard to let my dog out but only found value to be in the restaurant. My Dad is Celiac so all the Gluten Free options at the on-site restaurant made is an "easy" and good experience at dinner (we also go some coupons off at check-in). THEN, I'm used to getting a free breakfast with a Best Western but the breakfast here is sit-down at the same restaurant and you have a number of options on their menu. I would say that breakfast would have cost us around $40 so while I do think $300/night is still overpriced, this was some unexpected value in my stay. Also, It was quite rainy and cold in October but if you were to stay at this hotel in the warmer months then you could also enjoy their outdoor pool and the restaurant's patio which also face the Columbia River.

    5
« Best hotel in Hood River »

The Best Western by far is the best hotel to stay at in Hood River. Can't beat the breakfast that is included in your stay. Hotel is right on the river with wonderful views. The rooms are beautifully updated!

    « Excellent customer service »

Stayed Oct 12-15 for professional conference. I was very impressed with the universally friendly and helpful staff. Fir example, I mentioned at our lecture a request for soy milk instead of cream and they made sure the soy milk showed up at every session thereafter! Dietary requests were always met with a smile and assurance they do it all the time. The room was well designed with a very comfortable bed and desk/office chair along with an occasional chair. Very clean. What I really appreciated that you don't often see was an efficient mini kitchen with co-located micro on top, a middle shelf with coffee maker and fridge below instead of the fridge under the TV and coffee maker in the bathroom. Oh and they provided a heavy stoneware soup mug so I could make my morning oatmeal. Nice touch. And if you need a Starbucks Coffee or a McDonald's visit you just need to walk across the parking lot. I definitely want to come back for a nice well priced getaway on the Columbia Gorge.

« Great location, Nice stay and Excellent staff »

Yet again, a great experience at Best Western Plus. Quality and service are consistently good. Short version. - busy place, but the front desk check in moved along quickly - front desk was knowledgeable and very nice. Upgraded our room - good location along the river with a walking path with nice views - walking distance to McDonalds if you want a quick bite Long version. Arrived right when check in time was starting, and there was a queue. No reservation. uh oh.... We thought the crowds would be gone after Labor Day. In this area, there is a second high period, which is during this time. The gentleman at the front desk said he was expecting 100 check ins that day. The line moved along well, and when we got to the front, the gentleman was very nice. He described the rooms available and options. We were on a budget, so we chose one on the 1st floor though he explained it was a smaller room. He also explained it wasn't fully above ground and that the window would look out to the ground, since they were on a slope. I thought about it for a bit and finally said that was fine and we chatted more. Then he offered to move us to a room on the 2nd floor which he said we could have for the same price and be more comfortable. Great! He provided a map of the area and indicated the walking trail. The room was large and comfortable. Quiet hotel, though it was mostly filled. Busy parking lot, but we still managed to park close to the door nearest our room. I did check out the ground floor, and he was right. You do look out into the ground. There's a concrete trench around the hotel, so you would looking out into that with a view of the grass. Also there were large fans running the hallway. So maybe he steered us to the 2nd floor because they were having leak or damp issues and it was airing out. I didn't inquire, but was glad we were not staying on that level. Took the trail along the river. Beautiful. Easy walk to McDonalds for a salad. Used the laundry facilities. Average. I would definitely stay here again.

« Trip to Hood River »

I always try to stay at this hotel when I am in Hood River. Had a room with a great view of the river. Rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. The breakfast menu is not big but everything was very good. Great Staff as well.

    « Hood River Adventure »

We enjoyed our visit to Hood River especially our relaxing time at the hotel. The shower was so wonderful none of us wanted to get out. Beds extremely comfy and the food in the restaurant was "Out of this world!"

« Hot Tub on the River »

Great get away. Spent the afternoon in Hood River, wandered around the town and had a good dinner at a local brew pub. Got back to the hotel and spent probably an hour or so between the outdoor pool and hot tub. Really nice casual evening, several other couples who wandered in joined in friendly conversation. Very easy going atmosphere at the hotel. Had a great breakfast at the hotel restaurant the following morning. They had a veggie breakfast looked awesome that one of our friends had, she loved it. Sorry can't remember the name of the dish.

We had an executive king with river view. Very nice, comfortable bed, clean room, friendly staff. I loved some of the little touches like the robe and slippers and even an umbrella in the closet. We ate breakfast both mornings at the hotel restaurant and dinner one night and the food and service were very good. We ordered pizza from the bar the second night because we wanted to watch the baseball playoffs and they were watching football in the bar. The room service was timely, but the pizza wasn't that great. It had very little (almost no) sauce on it. We also used the pool and spa which were very nice and relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely would stay there again.

« King Suite Upgrade Worth It »

I decided to end our weeklong visit with an upgraded king suite room. Well worth small higher cost. Very spacious living/dining/wet bar area with fireplace. Bedroom with king bed, leather lounge chair and premium furniture. Both rooms open onto a private deck overlooking the Columbia river. A special stay for us.

    « River view »

Spent 3 nights here at the start of our road trip. Room was comfortable with all the usual accessories. Hotel restaurant had recently been updated and was very smart with the adjoining terrace offering wonderful views of the Columbia river. Staff very friendly and helpful. Safe deposit box available from reception. Complimentary breakfast choice was fine if you selected the hearty option - lighter fare such as fruit or yoghurt was in short supply. Room with a terrace and river view made for a nice place to set at the end to the day. Plenty of places to eat about 3/4 mile away - not a straight forward walk although worth the effort. Good bar in hotel and bar meal was good. Hotel is well located for trips to Mount Hood, Mt St Helens and the forests of Washington State.

    « Well locatedbut a bit impersonal »

We arrived at the same time as one of the other reviewers unless the key card making machine fails on a regular basis. Again we were let into our room which turned out to be a suite near the highway and bridge. This was slightly noisy and did not have a view of the river which was not a major disadvantage. Key cards were picked up from the desk. It is quite a large hotel extending along the river but the fittings are modern and work well. Our suite was large and part of the building was offices. The dining room had a good view but the food was unremarkable and was standard burgers etc. Breakfast was fine and freshly cooked. We were surprised that there was such a good hotel in such a rural area but it is a bit impersonal.

    « Best service I've ever had »

Excellent restaurant and very comfortable hotel. Wonderful picturesque location on the river. Staff went out of they're way to make me feel taken care of. I've stayed in fancier hotels, but no place with service this excellent. :)

    « Outstanding Best Western »

This is my favorite Best Western. Our room was clean and comfortable. We paid the extra for the river view which is very nice. When we arrived right at the start of check-in, the front desk was unable to create room keys. You can tell a lot about a hotel and its staff by how they handle problems. This was handled very well. People were checked in and let in to their rooms by staff. Within an hour, the front desk called and then delivered working keys to everyone who had checked in while their machine was down. Everyone was as fast and as efficient as possible and staff was very friendly and helpful while resolving a difficult problem. Breakfast is far superior to a standard hotel breakfast. Most items on the menu can be selected at no charge and it is cooked to order. Sitting outside by the river is lovely if it's warm enough. We did and enjoyed a beautiful sunrise. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Hood River.

« The best Best Western! »

I'll start by saying we splurged on the room which could have an impact on our rating! This was our last stop on a long trip and we opted for the riverside suite. It was wonderful - brand new furnishings, completely updated and clean, a separate large living area and bedroom, and a very nice view of the Columbia River from the double balcony. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding and it was nice to be able to choose from a menu. The service at the front desk, in the bar and in the restaurant were all excellent. Special kudos to Eric for his assistance. Only downside is the LOUD steel grate bridge, which didn't interfere with sleeping but was a bit annoying.

« Above Average but doesn't quite reach Very Good »

Again I wish there was a 'good' rating. There were two conventions taking place in this hotel, when we arrived reception was very busy, resulting in quite a wait to register and get our room key. This was not the staff's fault, just the volume of guests arriving at the same time. As we were only staying for one night we didn't pay the premium rate for a room with river view. Our room in the West Wing, 156, was satisfactory but was partially below ground level. Two queen sized beds, table and two chairs to eat in our room should we wish, spacious, clean and fresh smelling. It had all the other expected facilities found in Best Western bedrooms. The bathroom was large with complimentary products. The towels weren't as thick or new as we anticipated or have had in the past. We didn't like the fact that the coffee machine had been positioned in the bathroom. We had a good evening. We walked to Pfreim Brewery which is along the river front from the hotel. The ale, WIT something, (my knowledge of beer isn't great but as we come towards the end of this holiday it has grown considerably) was the best I had drunk all holiday long. The atmosphere in the bar was excellent and Tina the Bar Keeper was very attentive. We got talking to a couple from Vancouver Washington and had a good hour or so. What made our stay at this hotel was breakfast the following morning which was included in our room rate. Making our way to the restaurant we were asked if we wanted to sit outside on the deck. It was a glorious morning, cool but bright, and the view overlooking the river was very special. Our breakfast meal was good but overshadowed by the environment. Would we stay again if we returned to this area, yes.

« Welcoming, comfortable, well run motor inn with exceptionally good food »

We were traveling with two standard poodles and my ninety-year-old father, and the friendly staff went out of their way to make us comfortable -- they even mailed back the toiletries kit my husband left behind. Rooms and common spaces are decorated in a minimalist contemporary style that still manages to feel warm, thanks to abundant natural wood. The restaurant and adjoining terrace have a lovely view of the Columbia River. Because breakfast was included with our rooms, I expected the usual motel fare, some sort of Sysco laden buffet, but -- wow what a surprise. The food is cooked to order and ranked among the best breakfasts we've had anywhere, with lots of interesting and healthy options. Really good espresso, too. Nice grounds for walking the dogs and, despite the presence of a nearby Interstate, excellent sound proofing in the rooms.

« Great place to stay »

We recently stayed here for a conference. The hotel was clean, staff were courteous, and the food was excellent. Also provided an excellent base to explore the Hood River Valley and surrounding area. I highly recommend getting one of the ground level rooms with a water view.

    5
    « Far exceeded expectation »

This is a large, we'll managed facility with spacious rooms that have spectacular views of the Columbia River. On our three week road trip only one hotel offered as much and it cost twice as much and breakfast wasn't included. This Best Western should be called a Plus-Plus!

« A nice place to spend a couple days »

Hood River was a convenient place to stop to break-up a moderately long driving trip from southeastern Washington to the Oregon coast. I didn't know a lot about the town, but I did some quick research online and decided it would be a good mid-way stopping point. I'm glad we decided to stop here; Hood River is a nice little town on the south bank of the Columbia River. The hotel is not new, but it is clean and well-maintained and it's water-front location cannot be beat. Get a river-front room and you won't be disappointed; the view is great (a few yards from the river's edge) and just a few blocks from downtown Hood River. And there is a nice paved walking /jogging path that runs along the river's edge for several miles. There are several wineries in the immediate area (a few with tasting rooms in 'downtown' Hood River) and there are several lavender farms just south of HR, plus numerous apple/pear orchards and Mt. Hood is about 40 miles south of town. There is also a nice 'complimentary' breakfast in the hotel's restaurant where you actually get table service vs. a continental-style "serve yourself" arrangement.

    5
    « Beautiful View - Quality Hotel »

This a great place for the price. The view from the riverside rooms, pool, hot tub and walking path is beautiful. The decor and feel of the hotel is very upscale but at a reasonable price. Service was terrific with the exception of the restaurant at breakfast time, when we first arrived for breakfast it appeared that there were only a couple people working the floor and service was a little slow, but then all of a sudden there were 4 more people and things went great after that. Breakfast comes with your room. The restaurant has a great outside seating area as well.

    3
    « Good stay »

Enjoyed our stay at Hood River with one exception. The room was very nice, river view with sleek, modern vibe. Platform bed was a unique change from most hotel rooms. We were thinking of buying one but after sleeping in it will have to rethink that. Every time we turned over it creaked, and it was not that comfortable. Otherwise our stay was good.

« Fantastic Columbia River Stay »

What a nice Best Western. We originally had a reservation at the Columbia Gorge Hotel. After reading the reviews for both the BW and the CGH, we changed to the Best WEstern on the Columbia River. So glad we did! We had a balcony room overlooking the river which was amazing for beautiful sunrises and watching the river. The hotel has a wonderful hot tub right on the river, with clear wind blocks so that you can enjoy the very hot hot tub, without wind from the river. You can literally watch the boats and other activity on the busy river, right from the hot tub! They offer a fantastic breakfast, limited to 12 or so entrees. There is something for everyone, from the pork eater to the vegan. We enjoyed breakfast overlooking the river from inside one morning and from outside on their patio dining the other morning. Simply wonderful! Easy check in and easy free parking. Doesn't get any better on Columbia River.

« Beautiful by Columbia River »

My husband and I stayed one night at the Hood River Inn on a road trip and enjoyed it as much this time as a few years ago. It is beautifully located at the Columbia River. Our room was good size, quiet and the beds very comfortable. This time as on our first visit, we were very happy with the service and our dinner at the restaurant. In the morning we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast on the outdoor deck after a nice walk along the river at sunrise. It was a very pleasant stay.

    « Lovely River View »

This hotel offers a great river view a very comfy and clean room great bed for sleeping extra large room so plenty of room for your luggage outstanding breakfast and a great restaurant for dinning. We will be back the next time we are traveling through this area!

« Always good to be pleasantly surprised! »

We don't normally stay at Best Western properties, but after this visit, I wouldn't hesitate. The room was a good size, the bathroom was large and our view was great! Very comfortable bed and because our room was on the 3rd floor, we were able to sleep with the door open at night. The hotel was very quiet. Breakfast was wonderful, too. Truly this visit exceeded our expectations. Most surprising, though, was the quality and value of the restaurant, Riverside. We only ate there the first night because we were tired from driving, but it was so good we ate there the second night as well. That was a first for us!

« Hood River two night stay »

We were in Hood River for two nights and stayed at the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn. If you are looking for somewhere to stay this is the place. The rooms were roomy and very clean. The staff greeted you with a smile on their face and the food at their restaurant was very good. We received a free breakfast and we got to choose from the menu. I had the Whipped Ricotta Crepes with strawberries, whipped cream and sour cream. Wish I lived in Hood River so that I could go back for this breakfast (I would be very willing to pay for it, lol).

    5
    « A Wonderful Surprise »

We expected a rustic environment with adequate amenities and a nice view; but the hotel is exceptionally nice. Starting with the cheerful greeting with detailed instruction on where to hike and sightsee, moving on to its amazing location, helpful staff and marvelous free breakfast. The dining area was beautifully appointed, and my assumption that the food would be hotel-quality was totally wrong. Prices are reasonable, food tasty and prepared according to directions, with a marvelous selection of local beers. Finally, we were especially impressed with the instant and gracious accommodation to our being inconvenienced by placement of a plastic sheet over our window that was required to deal with splattered paint. The hotel wants satisfied guests and we were very well satisfied,

« Fantastic Room with great View of River »

We had one of the Riverside Suites which was fantastic. Had a full kitchen, living room and dinning table. Then the bedroom was separate from the others. The room is very open, which you had to be aware of because of the proximity to the walking area, we even had one gentleman come up and put his hands up onto the windows to peak into the room to see how it was. I was disappointed in that the fireplace did not work, but the Hotel was very considerate and gave us a credit for the inconvenience of it. We cooked a steak and potatoes and sat and watched the lovely river activities. Room is very is to get into, on the ground floor. Would definitely stay again.

    « HRI »

Fantastic views of the river and across to Washington. Pool and hot tub area to relax in and enjoy the view and was monitored to insure no unauthorized users. Walking paths to downtown. Only downfall was a slow wi-fi but life goes on.

« Really liked this hotel »

Upon arrival it feels, clean, nice with a great location and a beautiful setting right on the river. Very comfortable, nice sized room, good bathroom. Breakfast was included and it was a "gourmet" breakfast with really nice brunch-type entree options; not your standard fare. We enjoyed the restaurant and setting so much that we ate there both nights of our stay. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

« We loved everyhing about our stay! »

This place was incredible! Large, nicely decorated, clean room with incredible sweeping views of the Columbia River and Washington. Lots of nearby restaurants or you can eat at the hotel restaurant. The river walk is very convenient and a very relaxing walk. The staff was all incredibly accommodating and kind. We felt very welcome. The breakfast the next morning was incredible! We were seated in the restaurant with gorgeous views of the river. We got to pick from an extensive free menu of excellent choices. The 3 of us each had complimentary French toast, corned beef hash (fresh corned beef) and crepes. Tea, coffee or milk was also included. We would most definitely stay here again!

    « Great View »

I ended up upgrading my room to a 1bedroom suite. The suite was amazing. The suite was on the end of the hotel so I had 6 windows and a slider to walk out onto a private deck. The shower was a double head shower.

« Fabulous location, questionable service »

We reserved our Best Western Hood River Inn room through Trip Advisor. The occasion for our stay was our wedding anniversary plus we had been invited to a late afternoon wedding outside of Hood River. Although official check in time was 4:00pm, we arrived at the hotel at 11:30am, hoping our room (riverside with balcony) might be available earlier. The front desk told us the room was not YET available. We explained our hope to have our check in no later than 2:30pm as the wedding venue was more than a ½ hour drive from the hotel and we needed to change clothes. They said they did not think early check in would be an issue. We asked if they could call us on our cell phone when the room was available. They said they did not have time to make such calls. We then went into town to have lunch. We arrived back at the hotel around 1:00pm. The room was not YET available. They said a ?picture window room? was available. I asked what that meant, they said it was a room without a balcony. I told them I was somewhat claustrophobic, and really needed a room where I had access to the outside, plus I did not like A/C and wanted fresh air. We went to their restaurant to wait. Again our room was not YET available. When we returned we decided to wait near the front desk, so we would be close by as soon as the room became available. While we waited I overheard many customers being checked in to riverside/balcony rooms. The front desk explained to me several times our room was not YET available, but again, the ?picture window room? was available. Finally, at 2:50pm, we agreed to accept the ?picture window room?. They key card did not work. We asked the cleaning staff to open our room. They agreed after verifying at our room number on the envelop. The room was a much smaller room because it was next to a ramp. When we opened the drapes, we could see the dining room deck, there was no privacy. My husband tried to brush his teeth and there was some problem with the plumbing in the sink. The water stopped running and then there was a large burst of water which went all over his suit. When we returned to the hotel after the wedding, the key card did not work. We went to the front desk and found out our key had been assigned to a different room. There were no operable windows. There were no blankets or comforter. There was a window A/C. We called the front desk for a comforter or blanket. They sent a very thin blanket that appeared to be made for a twin bed. The sound of the window A/C kept me awake most of the night. It was not the best anniversary celebration, although the wedding was fabulous, my husband is the best, and our hotel breakfast the next morning was excellent.

« Love, love, love the view »

We decided to stay at this Best Western in Hood River for our 28th anniversary. We spent the day doing the fruit loop and got to the hotel mid afternoon. We were not disappointed! We had a room on the third floor with a view. The Columbia River was beautiful! The room was clean and had everything you needed. Unfortunately, the doors to the rooms down the hall kept slamming closed up until 11:00ish, when it finally quieted down. However, it started again around 6:00. If it would be possible to find a way so the doors closed quietly, that would be great because other guests tend to forget that there are others on the floor. That is the only negative thing about the hotel (and unfortunately, it is common in many). Regardless, we would definitely stay here again, if we are in the area.

    « Welcome back »

It has been many years since we stayed here. We stayed on the top floor of the new east wing, riverside view. Being new it was a well appointed room with large soft towels and quality amenities. Our view was of course wonderful and we enjoyed our balcony. I had been considering a platform bed for our new bedroom, but after stubbing my toe and nailing my shin I will reconsider. The desk is facing the river, not getting much work done. We had a good breakfast at the hotel

    « Great!!! »

We only stay at Best Western Hotels and this was my favorite. The views were outstanding and the breakfast was incredible. Everything all in one resort. We love to travel but late afternoon and early evening in one spot for us is the best.

    « Nice/Right on the River »

Beautiful hotel, friendly stafff. The setup is a little different and I couldn't find how to access my floor from outside readily, but once I got the layout, it was easy. The view is outstanding from the river side -- ask for that side. Pool, while I didn't use, was gorgeous!

    « It's all good! »

If I could clone a hotel located in a beautiful setting, it would be this one. The service, setting, room amenities (double sinks, large plush towels, closet with robes, umbrella and a light (!) are excellent. This is a well-managed lodging; staff is well-trained. Our stay included a full, hot breakfast ordered off a menu. We also ate dinner here because its restaurant, Riverside, is one of the best in town. The ?half-off an entrée' ticket we received at check-in was a bonus. We also appreciated the "package" ideas suggested & discounted and arranged for a rafting trip.

« Relaxing with amazing service and views »

Best place to relax by the Columbia River with a water front guest room. The room has amazing view of the river, very close to the hot tub, very clean with inside entrances to guest rooms and a caring staff. We recommend this hotel 100% to relax and enjoy the views of the Columbia river / Gorge. Plan a two + days to enjoy the all of the property!

    « Great River View »

After seeing the reviews on Trip Advisor we decided on this place and glad we did. We were in Hood River for a wedding and upon arrival at the hotel male clerk was very pleasant and explained everything to us well. We were on the third floor and had a very, very nice view of the Columbia River and we had a balcony to set on and what a view. Next morning for breakfast we were able to set outside and again view the river and it was sunny and the morning coffee seem very good at that time. The food that is on the menu for the "Included" breakfasts was very good too. Everyone at the hotel was very nice and answered all questions about the area that we had. Strongly suggest you book this. The rooms were very clean and always cleaned up and re-done upon our returns. Thanks Best Western Plus.

« River front, river view!! »

Great central location in Hood River, easy access to local sights along Columbia River Gorge. Step above usual expectations of the standard Best Western Plus hotels. We enjoyed its location, view of the gorge when having a meal at their on site restaurant especially during breakfast. Included breakfasts are a cut above the typical choices having selections off their regular menu. Loved the veggie bowl for breakfast. Beds were comfortable, Hood River bridge is easy access right outside the hotel. Hot tub, and pool are open later than the usual hotel. The surroundings of hotel looked well maintained. A place we would return to.

    « Hidden treasure »

My sister and I stayed here for two nights while in town for a family wedding. The room was nicely appointed and comfortable, but the views were amazing! Gorgeous scenery along the Columbia River. We attended a rehearsal dinner held in one of the banquet rooms, and the catered food was good. The best part of the hotel aside from the scenery was the free full service breakfast - delicious entrees! The town of Hood River is really quaint with cute boutiques and restaurants and is within walking distance. There are multiple scenic spots nearby. We chose a gorgeous walk along the Twin Tunnels Path in Mosier, only a short drive away. This was definitely a memorable stay for us.

    « Nice! »

Luxury. Beautiful view from our river room on the first floor. We had a fabulous breakfast which came free with our stay-corn beef hash with eggs and homemade bread as toast. Lumberjack size serving. It was nice to sit in a real restaurant. I wish e had eaten dinner in there too.

« Spectacular view of river and bridge »

Hot tub and heated pool were welcome bonus to unwind after a 300 mile motorcycle trip. The location in the heart of the Columbia Gorge and at the foot of Mt Hood is spectacular. The onsite restaurant was excellent, a pleasant surprise, with breakfast included in room rate and discount for dinner.

« Not your regular Best Western »

Spent a night here while visiting several of the area's good wineries. All around excellent experience, nice room with balcony overlooking the river. About a 15 minute walk along river into downtown. We really enjoyed dinner in the lounge (Cibu?), great food, solid list of local wines, and a professional staff. The included breakfast in the main restaurant was also high quality. We regularly stay in Best Westerns but never have been in one as beautiful and first class as this.

« Great one day getaway »

We go to Hood River Oregon a few times a year because we love the area. The times we've stayed at the Best Western Plus there have been a major part of that wonderful experience. Our visit recently was no exception. The room we were assigned upon arriving was disappointing to us, but I called to ask about another room & was given one with no questions asked & was a room we loved, as it was large, airy, beautiful AND near the outdoor pool! We had a wonderful dinner meal there & a great free breakfast. Definitely will make this a regular stop whenever we can.

    « Wine Lovers »

This hotel is the nicest in Hood River. The suites are amazing and relaxing the pool area is so clean and perfect. The morning breakfast that is included in your room rate is so good and great choices to pick from. I have been here several times and me and my friends love it for a quick get away. We go wine tasting on the main street or drive around to other wineries. You can do some fun shopping and pets are encouraged. I have been here 3 times and will only book this hotel. You know you will be treated right. It can also be a romantic couples weekend too.

    « Ideal »

Just stayed there for 3 nights. The service was above average. The rooms come with a nice made to order breakfast. Nice jacuzzi and pool area. The hotel is slightly dated and the rooms a bit noisy in the east wing. Overall a good choice for the price. Great location on the river.

    « Great Riverfront Stay »

Great place if you paddle board and have a dog. We stayed on the first floor in a king river view room. We walked right out our sliding glass doors with our paddle boards right down to the small beach about a block distance away and jumped on the river. The patio was great for relaxing after a day on the water. The pool and hot tub are good sized and perfect temps. The breakfast was outstanding - and there are quite a few menu items to choose from that are made to order versus the boring continental buffet with rubbery old eggs we were expecting. The breakfast is in the restaurant on the riverfront and you can sit inside or out. We enjoyed having our breakfast on the deck each morning. We also tried out the restaurant for dinner and it was pretty good too - better than what you would expect for a hotel restaurant and the buy one get one entree free coupon you get with check-in was worth it. We walked into town using the path outside the hotel. It's a little bit of a walk but worth it to not have to fight for a parking spot. There are some updates that could still be made to the appearance of the trim and floors in the walkways of the first floor but other than that the hotel was a surprise - best hotel I've stayed at in Hood River so far and perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy the river to the fullest with a pet.

« Don't be Put-off by proximity to the Interstate! »

This hotel has an excellent location on the Oregon bank of the Columbia River with great views of the gorge. It's a great place to stop if touring the gorge or heading south towards Mt. Hood, Bend and Crater Lake. Rooms are well-sized and comfortable, those at the western end of the hotel have a small balcony. Hotel staff were courteous and efficient at check-in and check-out. Rooms facing the river have no traffic noise from the Interstate which runs behind the hotel, but an unexpected source of noise is the bridge over the Columbia River which has a steel roadway - this really affects the rooms at the western end. There's a walking path along the river that can be accessed from the hotel and it's a pleasant one mile stroll to the Hood River Port with plenty of restaurant options. Our package included a full (cooked) breakfast although for some bizarre reason, juices were extra!

    4
    « Updated hotel »

Our room was river view executive level (no kids, no pets on this level) completely updated, roomy and a balcony. Extras are glass coffee cups in room, glass drink glasses a plus. Grounds are manicured, facility is clean. Love the view of the Columbia River.

« Best complimentary breakfast we've had so far on our cross country trip from the East Coast »

The only reason I'm not giving this place a 5 is because the room was very perfumy. If you don't like perfumy rooms tell them when you book your room. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic and freshly made but to be honest with you I would come back here just for the view from the Diningroom. Very friendly staff. Will definitely stay here next time we're in the area.

    « Very Surprised! »

I was very surprised by the quality of this Best Western. Having stayed at another Best Western on this same trip that was a huge disappointment, this was a great surprise. The hotel itself has beautiful views of the Columbia River and the mountain. If possible, ask for a room on the river side. Our room was on the parking lot side, and I wish I would have had a view. We had a first floor room. We had a little patio area with a couple of chairs and a table. Since we were facing the parking lot, I don't expect I would have used them, but it would have been nice if we were on the river side. The room itself was very nicely decorated. It was a little small, but definitely workable. Only complaint about the room was that the bed was a bit uncomfortable. The mattress was extremely soft and sagged a bit with the two of us in it. The bathroom area was nice. Plenty of counter space and a large tub. The room also had a mini-fridge and microwave. There was a free breakfast included which was amazing! It wasn't your standard hotel continental breakfast. We actually got to go to the dining room and have a sit down breakfast. You got to choose from 5 or 6 items on their menu - all of which looked good. Both of our choices were excellent, and very large. The view from the dining room is great. The day we were there it was rainy, but there was a great deck with seating outside on a nice day. Front desk staff was fine - not overly friendly, but efficient. The location is great for getting to downtown Hood River, as well as several of the other wineries in the area. Highly recommended!

Awesome spot!! Our room was our hub for 3 days of outdoor adventures in the area. We had Great breakfasts and and dinners at the RiverSide restaurant. Our room offers an incredible view of the Columbia, and guest service was top notch as well.

    « Great surprise »

I planned a Labor Day getaway with friends so started 2 months in advance to find a place with 3 rooms. Several other options were totally booked so happy to get 2 rooms here and later that week was able to add the last room. We were all very happy discovering this hotel and vow to stay here again, just book earlier so we can get a river view. The staff was super nice at check-in. The included breakfast was really good and way above the usual hotel breakfast. One gets to order off a menu in the restaurant with great views.

« Good base to explore the Gorge! »

We stayed 4 days and enjoyed it immensely. Some rooms are better than others, after checking things out we took a room on the west side of the east building. We stayed on the third floor 'executive level' king room and it was very nice. The rooms in the west bldg get a lot of noise from the old steel bridge, while those at the east end of the east bldg get freeway noise and the rooms are smaller. I was puzzled to see negative comments about the complimentary breakfast as it was the nicest one we've ever had: many choices and generous individually prepared meals such as eggs with corned beef hash, potatoes and toast, along with a pot of coffee...no cheap buffet here! The room was relatively large with king bed, seating area, desk, and floor to ceiling river view, and small balcony. There is a walking trail where you can go a couple miles along the river or walk into town. That way you can explore Hood River without feeding the parking meters.

    « Thin Walls & Hard Bed »

Stayed here for a wedding because it was dog friendly and Hood River is a great dog town. The walls are paper thin, you can hear every word on the TV next door and footsteps of people walking by in the hallway. All the sounds made my dog on edge and he barked, as dogs do, and people complained, as is expected, so the only solution was to drive my dog back to Portland to stay with family. Great start to a weekend. The bed was super hard, to the point where I didn't sleep well. The blanket was super thin and there were no other blankets in the room. Overall, the hotel felt old and low quality. The free breakfast and the view of the river were nice, but that's about it. I'd stay in a VRBO or AirBNB next time, there are beautiful homes in Hood River that would have provided a much better experience.

« Very nice hotel in a lovely setting! »

Everyone at this hotel is very friendly and helpful. Although the hotel may look a little old it is very clean, comfortable and the rooms are large and lovely. Beds are comfy, rooms are quiet, TV has a million channels and we had a view of the river. When you check in you are given a coupon for buy one get 1/2 off second entree which is a great deal. I will review the restaurant separately -- it was excellent. We also got a coupon for an excellent breakfast. We needed a luggage cart for arrival and departure and one was brought to us quickly and courteously. We recommend this place.

    « Great view »

We chose this hotel for the view of the Columbia River and bridge and it didn't disappoint. This was a large facility, used for conferences as well as for visitors wanting to stay in the area, so parking and finding one's way around the facility could be a bit of a problem. Nonetheless the room itself was fine and we had a good time there

« The Best Accommodations on the Gorge! »

BWP has an amazing view of the Gorge & a relaxing atmosphere. Checking in & out were a breeze with the delightful staff. We ate one of our more memorable meals at the Riverside Restaurant. Delicious & fresh choices. Amazing. We used your well appointed workout facilities & also ran the near by trails. Our rooms were comfortable without odors or smelly perfumes & we slept well during our stay. It was the perfect stop on our Oregon experience!

    « It was all good...AMAZINGLY GOOD! »

This is the place to stay without a doubt. Excellent hotel with fantastic views, professional and caring staff and very nice facilities. We were impressed! Everything worked in our room which was very spacious and the view of the river was incredible. Dog friendly and easy to maneuver around. This hotel is well run! Can't say enough for the high quality of the staffing. Excellent restaurant and the breakfasts are particularly good. Great job BEST Western Hood River!!!!

« Peaceful and relaxing setting »

This hotel is a must stay at if you are in the Hood River area of Oregon. The staff is very helpful - I was on the third day of a ten day vacation and didn't make my intended destination and needed to stop for the night. Staying at a hotel that night was not in my budget. The staff made it affordable and the hotel offers a $5 off of dinner and a free cook to order breakfast. It is located on the Columbia River and after a long drive it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sites of the river. The room was comfortable and very clean and the other guests were friendly. A great stay!!

    « great weekend »

The staff was helpful, efficient and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure that everything was correct and helped to fix my reservation (which was incorrect due to my booking the wrong Best Western on line). The room was very nice and had a great opening onto the Columbia river with a beautiful view. The breakfast was wonderful with many choices and good food. The evening meal was like wise very good. We tried the lamb, a corn-scallop dish, steak, and pasta - all were excellent. They also were willing to tailor dishes from what was listed on the menu to accommodate tastes/desires. Overall, the best stay that we have had at any Best Western.

« Retreat by the River »

This hotel provided us with the perfect way to end our road trip. The scenery was beautiful, although breezy. The hotel was very nice with clean smells, comfortable and clean rooms, comfortable beds. The lounge was a perfect way to end the day with a glass of wine and delicious salad and steamed clams. The staff was exceptional.

    « Very Friendly Hotel »

We took a last minute end of the summer trip to Hood River, OR and chose to stay at the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn. We were very pleased. Everyone we came in contact with that worked there was so friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. What a nice comfortable hotel with a delicious breakfast included. It couldn't have been nicer. We will be back for sure!

    3
« Very nice except the room »

Nice place except the room was disappointing. Bad bed and noisey. Air conditioner doesn't cool very well, happily it wasn't the hot part of the summer. When you arrive you are greeted with a very nice place and builds your expectation for your room. Disappointment. Not worth the high price.

« Lovely property, the riverside suites a MUST! »

Great 2 days in Hood River during a conference; we had an issue from a smell from a connecting room and the management and staff did everything they could to help which was great. Great wi-fi, room service was quick and good, and check-in and out was good. Wish they could have had a room available a little sooner, but all in all a nice stay.

    « Gorge time »

Fantastic staff, facilities and restaurant. Right on the river so request river view room and enjoy. Great walking/jogging trail along the river that you can follow all the way downtown. Easy access to the Fruit Loop drive and all the Hood River Rail road.

    « Impressive first-class property and staff »

Every element of this property made me happy to be there. The hotel design, room layout and view, great staff at the front desk and restaurant --- all were first class. I was able to check in early, which gave me enough time for a late lunch and still be able to visit the wineries and country stores just uphill off Route 35. The property is located right on the Columbia River, with easy access from I-84 and from Washington on the Hood River Bridge. Parking is plentiful. The location is perfect for exploring the Historic Columbia River Gorge Scenic Route (waterfalls and hiking trails), area wineries and downtown Hood River. Take advantage of the Hood River Visitor Information Center just across the road --- they provided me an armload of pamphlets and brochures, and good advice about the places I wanted to visit. I'm glad I splurged a bit for the executive room upgrade on the third (top) floor, with a river view. It was spacious, well-appointed, including a refrigerator and microwave, large bathroom with walk-in shower, good desk work area, comfy bed and pillows, and very quiet. The only thing that seemed missing was a note pad and pen anywhere in the room. The property has free Wi-Fi, and full breakfast is included. There is a fitness room, hot tubs and swimming pool. This hotel seemed palatial after spending the previous three nights at the rustic Paradise Inn at Mt. Rainier. The indoor/outdoor Riverside Restaurant is open all day starting at 6am and has an excellent menu. The Cebu Lounge and dining room are open in the evening. Refilling your gas tank is easy: two gas stations are adjacent to the hotel. There is a walking/jogging/bike path to stretch your legs; it parallels the Columbia River and leads into the marina and waterfront park. A variety of meeting rooms is available for business travelers. Best Western Plus at Hood River is modern, well-managed and an all-around pleasure. It's a very comfortable base for visits to the Columbia River Gorge/Mt. Hood area.

« Nice hotel and restaurant right on the river »

Check in was easy and front desk staff was very nice. We got a last minute non-view room which was comfortable and clean. The view rooms face the river. We got a voucher for breakfast at the Riverplace restaurant at the hotel. t was excellent with some healthy and different options. I had a veggie bowl that included lentils, quinoa, mushrooms, zucchini, spinach, leeks and two eggs with delicious toast. Loved it. There Is a path along the back that is right on the river. Only downside, was the traffic noise but this didn't really bother me and they had some earplugs in the room if you needed them. I didn't find them necessary.

    5
« Great place to stay for kite boarding »

nice location, large rooms, good wifi, free parking. A hearty breakfast is included and can be take on a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking the river. I was worried about noise from the bridge, but it turned out to be a non issue when the AC is running. with open windows it may be a problem. Nice to have a Starbucks nearby. The kite spot is 5 min driving distance with easy parking there. Definitely will come back. At 200 a night in high season seemed like okay value for money.

« The grill and terrance makes this a winner »

The views of the Mt. Hood and of the crafts gliding up the river makes a lunch on the terrace a great place to relax after visiting and hiking the beauty of the area. Best Western is my choice for comfort.

    « Excellent Motel! »

I wouldn't share this info but the word is already out about BW Hood River. Clean, comfortable with a boatload of ammenities and amazing staff. Best place to stay on the Columbia in our opinion thus far!!

« Nice hotel but too close to highway »

Nice hotel with very large clean room, had a balcony with river view, but also perfect view to the highway and railroad. It was very loud, we know now why they offer earplugs. We had dinner sitting outside, very good food! Breakfast is included, it is 'a la carte", you can't get omellete or fruit. Because we had two more or less sleepless nights, we can't recommend this hotel.

    5
« Lovely hotel on the water with great amenities »

Spent four nights here with our four teenagers. The free breakfast is not your average breakfast buffet!! It is amazing with selections such as Lox&bagel, PrimeRib and Bacon Hash, Ricotta filled Crepes, etc. The restaurant was also excellent for dinners and they have specials in the lounge. The rooms are clean and roomy with microwave and fridge. The pool and hot tub were quite nice. The location is amazing right on the bank of the Columbia River and you can walk across the parking lot for Starbucks if that's your thing. Would send anyone here.

« Great Stay in Hood River »

We made an impromptu trip to Hood River and were able to get a last minute room at the Best Western. The location right on the river is excellent. While our room was not a suite, it was located in the suite area, away from most of the hotel. It was a little confusing to find but once there we were not disappointed. The room was very clean and had all the comforts you would expect. The highlight of the hotel is the pool and hot tub overlooking the Columbia River. Both were a comfortable temperature and spacious. We also took advantage of free breakfast. While the menu was somewhat limited it was much better than most continental breakfasts. We sat outside and the view from the deck was gorgeous.

    « A wonderful surprise! »

It was a busy check-in, but not a long wait, they had 3 front desk employees checking people in. They were very friendly. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Out bed was comfortable and the views of the Columbia River spectacular! The included breakfast was fabulous! There was a special area to order off of the menu and there were many choices and a nice variety. The food was tasty too! Great service! We had dinner in the restaurant and it was excellent, service was excellent! I'll be returning!

    5
« We had an amazing time »

I would highly recommend this hotel. The location is beautiful, the service was professional and friendly, and the " daily breakfast included "'was amazing. Not the expected cereal, juice, yogurt, etc. The menu was amazing including Hood River Lox on a toasted bagel with cream cheese and water cress. The room was perfect and the free wifi was awesome

    « Popular Destination »

This is a great property right on the river, and a very popular place in the summer. Rooms are very clean and well maintained, beds are very comfortable. We really enjoy coming for a quick getaway. Restaurant has excellent food as well.

« Beautiful view of the Columbia River »

Big comfortable rooms, view of river (on river side), I'm sure the view of mountains on other side are good too. Excellent restaurant, with good prices. Nice grassy area and walking path along river front.

    « Couldn't ask for more. »

Just lovely. Excellent staff with attention to detail. Beautifully decorated rooms on the riverfront. Summer time - lots of water viewing action. Restaurant's food is excellent. I could not have asked for more.

« Amazing place to stay at! »

My husband surprised me with reserving a suite at the Riverside Suites next to the Best Western Plus. I still feel like we were living a dream the four days we stayed there, it was absolutely gorgeous! We were in Suite 1, right next to the Hood River Bridge, overlooking the river. Windows all around the suite wit beautiful views that made it seem like we were outside all the time. Lots of room with a full dining table, full kitchen, jacuzzi tub, and I could go on... We got meal tickets for certain items for breakfast, there was a $1 charge per order to take it back to our room, which we preferred, but that was fine. I wouldn't get the very small glass of fresh squeezed orange juice though, it was $4, a bit too steep for me! But the restaurant was gorgeous too. Look it up to see pictures, it's amazing, the pool, amenities. I hope we can go back again before the year is over! Oh, and I have never seen such a clean hotel room, never! They have a great staff!

    « Absolutely Stunning! »

I think this hotel has won the Surprise Of The Year award for me in 2016 thus far. We had a family emergency and went back to CA from Seaside for two weeks. We traveled back to Seaside from CA a new way, going through Bend and ending up in Hood River where we had a business obligation. I booked the hotel directly for one night on a Friday night, My son had stayed here a few years ago and said it was nice, I had no idea it had recently been remodeled and was now a BW Premium hotel. After a nice lunch in Bend, we ended up at the hotel early evening. The outside is very pretty and our room was on the third floor, with a balcony and a beautiful river view. The room was really, really pretty with a small ambiance fireplace and huge king sized bed. The room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was also really pretty. All of the products they used in the remodel were beautiful and very tastefully done. We made reservations on opentable for the restaurant there, Riverside Grill. The restaurant has also recently been remodeled and was just gorgeous. We were seated inside with a pretty view of the river. I was skeptical about the food quality. We loved our meal, the food was fresh and innovative and the server was very professional. So far, a perfect 10 on every level here. We slept really well for the first time in a few days and were anxious to try the breakfast which is included with your room. We sat outside this time and I ordered the Veggie Quiche and a side of bacon. I also had the Apple Cider which was delicious. After breakfast we were anxious to try the pool and hot tub and relax before heading over to the coast. The pool area is beautiful and has river views. As does the hot tub. We spent a couple of hours swimming and relaxing. There is also an indoor jacuzzi, fitness center which had updated equipment and a great redwood sauna. This entire area is also very beautifully done and contemporary. I can't wait to return to this place again for relaxation and rest when we are in the Columbia River Gorge area. Don't let the Best Western name fool you on this property, this is a gorgeous full-service resort in Hood River. :)

    « Absolutely wonderful hotel »

We look forward to staying at this hotel every year and it gets better each year. Top notch staff, beautiful location, lovely rooms and wonderful food. They made wonderful renovations to the rooms last year. The breakfasts are the best hotel breakfast in the country. We really couldn't ask for more.

    « Very Nice Visit. »

Returned to the BW Plus Hood River Inn. As per usual, our room wasn't ready, but they did try their best to get it ready early. We were sent to Room 213 which is a junior suite. Unfortunately when we finally got to our room, we went inside only to find that we didn't have a balcony and the room is above the entrance into the building and a door going out to the waterfront. We contacted the front desk and asked if we could be moved to 313, but that room was booked. So we contacted the GM and after a lengthy description of what we were hoping for, we were offered a Standard King Room with a balcony on the 3rd floor of the east wing. We accepted and the room was wonderful. Very quiet and a very nice view of the river as well as a lovely balcony. Can't thank that GM enough for making our stay very enjoyable after all.

« Best of Best Western, in Beautiful Hood River »

Just wrapped up a weekend at the Hood River Inn. We stayed Friday and Saturday, as part of a wedding block, and attended both a rehearsal dinner and a brunch onsite in the Riverside Room. The hotel met so many must-haves: abundant and comfortable pillows, super-clean guest room and grounds, lovely pool area and delicious, varied brunch (included with the room rate!), and convenient location. Two small detractions - booking over the phone in the room block was a bit confusing, and the hotel's proximity to the highway means it can be noisy. Certainly the noise isn't the hotel's fault, and they provide ear plugs in room as a nice touch, but I would recommend requesting a room further east, and perhaps on the river side, to compensate.

« Not worth the price »

I recently stayed here for a wedding and the hotel was a disappointment. I had heard great reviews from friends and family, but unfortunately my visit dos not live up to it. When booking the reservation I was told I was going to get a river facing view on the top floor. When we arrived we were on the top floor, but our room was facing the parking lot. Not only did we not get a river view, our room smelled very old and musky. I called the front desk and they said they would give us a different room, but they did not have one with a river view. They also said they would not compensate us for the difference in price. The new room they put us in still had a smell, but it was not as bad and by this time we were running late so we had to take it. The other issue with the room they gave us was that the wall air conditioner did not work very well so during the day the room would get up to 85-90 degrees. Finally, the bed that we had slopped to the center and was not comfortable. I later saw on the hotel write that they were selling old used beds for 50 dollars. I wonder if one of the beds for sale was one we slept on. The one redeeming quality of the hotel was the breakfast. It was very good despite having to wait 30 minutes for a table.

« Beautiful setting with very helpful staff! »

My husband and I just checked in and so far I'm impressed. The hotel is lovely and Erik helped us out with explaining the history and current events in this area. We can't wait to chela out the town brewery scene and the fruit loop. We might even check out the walking distance paddle board places. This picture is the view from our room??

« Great place for our family »

This hotel was beautiful and the views from our room and the restaurant were spectacular. Dusk and evening on the restaurant patio were wonderful. There was a tiny glitch on check in - I needed a place for Mom, Dad, Nana and two munchkins - and we ended up needing one more bed, but the suites didn't allow cots. Luckily, we arranged for extra bedding and made a fabulous fort out of the sofa and chairs for our youngest. Hotel and restaurant staff were helpful and courteous. Hotel was clean and comfortable.

    5
« Great location, stay, value »

We (2 adults) stayed here one night, in a queen bed room on the executive floor (quiet floor!). Just off freeway but right on Columbia River. Rooms have wall a/c but halls/common areas have central a/c -- key asset in summer. Well-groomed riverfront grounds leads right to a watersport center (worth another visit, jet skis & kayaks etc. Spacious room with TWO luggage racks to unpack suitcases (yeah -- why doesn't ever hotel room have two), good coffee maker and coffee. Pool with in-room pool towels. Bar, dining room (did not eat dinner there but will do so next time). FREE and excellent breakfast, many choices (not a buffet).

« Best Hotel in Hood River for Food & Dogs »

We stayed here in early 2000's and were very satisfied. The hotel has been upgraded since then and is even better. We are dog people and they have great pet-friendly ground-floor rooms that have an outside door that looks out over the Columbia River with nice grass sloping down to a good asphalt path along the river. Our Sadie got so much exercise she slept all the way home. The restaurant is excellent. The only problem I had was the shower head was a bit low so I had to learn not to hit my head on it, and I'm 6 ft tall.

    « Great Location, BUT... »

The Best Western Plus is a quality hotel in a great location. We upgraded to a very nice room with a balcony overlooking the river - a beautiful view. As with many rooms, breakfast was included. BUT the menu is limited! You are given the hotels breakfast menu, but cannot order all the items on the menu!!! If you feel like pancakes, no way; on the menu, but not for us! And the menu is very different; the only item I could eat was the standard bacon and eggs; but the bacon was pepper bacon. I had to talk them in to substituting Canadian bacon. You do get coffee or milk, but no juice! I chose milk and got a small jice glass of milk. With the bacon and eggs, i got ONE slice of toast!! This seems very rinky dink to me for a nice hotel. If you want a view, go to this Best Western. If you want a good breakfast, find a Holiday Inn!!!

« Smack on the water »

Best night of our vacation: Heading to a family reunion on Vashon Island, we had a little quiet time on the River, right next to the bridge to White Salmon. Very nice spot with walking trails along the river, an outdoor swimming pool, excellent restaurant... definitely will stay there again

    « Location is everything »

WE wee staying at mid range accommodation but decided to pay a bit more here - especially by going for a river view. We were in the west wing. Both wings have river views or views over the car park. W had a ground floor room ( no. 167 ) that had doors opening onto a small patio with table and 2 chairs and then onto grass and a public path running along the river bank. This path seemed to start in the hotel so was little populated. Maybe if you are worried about security or people peeking in you could ask for 2nd or 3rd floor which had small balconies. East wing seemed to have no balconies on 1st floor. Car park is free and they give you a ticket so they can check you are a hotel guest. Room was big, bathroom with 2 sinks, bath, wardrobe, iron and ironing board, easy chair, table and chairs, m'wave, fridge, great bed, TV, a/c - that was quiet!. There is a small pool and gym area. Our only grouse was the breakfast. This was served only. You had a choice of various cooked and had to choose one of the options. I had Riverside breakfast which was 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, a sausage, 2 bacon rashers and fried potatoes. Fruit juice cost extra!!!! Coffee included. This cost $14 each. Had to ask for sauce and for jam. Choice of type and number of items was a little limited. We love fruit so ordered a small bowl of fruit for $4 - which WAS small and poor choice of fruit. You an sit outside but may have to wait for a table. Nevertheless the view and location are fantastic. It is a 30 min walk into the town and you can get most of the way there along the river's edge.

    5
    « A wonderful spot! »

This place is a gem; clean and convenient, with a great staff, delicious food, comfortable beds, and a beautiful view. It is a short walk to town, which is full of fun options including shopping and excellent breweries. I will always stay here while in Hood River.

    5
« The best place in town! »

Actually I can't say that, we only stayed here. But, it seemed like the best. We had a room with sliding glass doors that opened onto a grassy riverbank where we could sit and watch the Columbia River pass our hotel. The towels felt like new and the sheets were crisp and clean. There were a lot of lighting which we enjoyed when reading or getting dressed. We would stay here again.

    5
    « great place »

very nice hotel and a GREAT restaurant, right on the river nice room with great view, the restaurant was a gourmet surprise really good, excellent service easy location just off I84 I would recommend this property to anyone Be sure to eat in the restaurant, the lamb is wonderful

« Great view! Clean and comfortable rooms. »

We choose a river view and it did not disappoint. Enjoyed the view sitting on our patio with some wine & cheese. Bed was comfortable. Easy access to walking path along the river. After hiking all day and to the top of Multonomah Falls, actually enjoyed an Epsom salt bath in the tub. The complimentary breakfast in the restaurant was a nice amenity. Many choices, view was beautiful, and staff was attentive and friendly. Front desk staff was also friendly and approachable. Husband says it was one of the nicest Best Westerns. We would definitely stay again.

    5
    « WOW! »

Wow says it all! Great scenery, great rooms, and a quite room on the Columbia River! A tad on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for, and in my opinion, here you get more than you pay for. A free breakfast in the adjoining restaurant before you start another day in Paradise.

    « Comnfortable,resort like hotel »

We stayed two nights in a 2Q riverview upstairs room $373 with a small balcony and 2 sets of cathedral style windows, one on top of the other. Ac works quietly. Breakfeast was included in the $200+ rate from a choice of menus with wait service. If you get a riverv room, request rooms nearest the bridge to White Salmon as rooms furher away and ner the pool have a view obscrured by gtrees. The property is large, has a nice outdoor pool, and has a walking trail behind it which hugs the river and for about 1 mile leads to the small town center with a Full Sail Brewery and restuarant and a handful of other good restaurants. A comfortable stopover en route to or from Portland and a1 hur ride fromTimeberline Lodge,Mt Hood.

    3
« Great view, over priced but clean and comfortable »

The view is beautiful here. A downside is the noise from the bridge on one side and the noise from the Hwy on the other. We had a river view room which warrants a higher price but not this price. The hotel is older and although there have been some updates, there are still some needed such as the vanity in the washroom (sink basin and faucet updated but not vanity). The beds were comfortable and the room was clean and spacious with a table and 2 comfortable chairs. It is nice to have a sink and mirror outside the full washroom 1 person can be in washroom and the other getting ready outside. Each room has a table and chairs outside. For the price, there really should be more comfortable seating outside. The pool area is large with some shaded area which is nice. There is also an indoor and outdoor hot tub. There is a lift for the outdoor pool and hot tub (unsure about indoor hot tub) for those with a physical disability. Pool is only 5' deep at its deepest. Staff were friendly and helpful.

« Topnotch Homebase for Exploring Gorge and Mt Hood »

Rooms are updated and spacious, 2 big comfy chairs and a desk. Our view of the river was lovely. Despite the full parking lot, we never felt crowded and front desk staff patiently provided full attention when we needed it. The greenway connects to a waterfront park about a mile away, and also connects to downtown Hood River (maybe a little longer walk but it is a nice walk-especially after sampling the offerings of the local breweries!) We were very pleased by the free breakfast- made to order dishes with table service. We stayed three nights. It was a great place to return to after days of hiking and other adventures.

« Outstanding hotel with perfect location »

Highly recommend. Perfect location for hotel on the Columbia River with easy walking access to river activities and rentals. River view rooms with balconies, which we occupied, were wonderful with direct river views. Perfect location for adult beverages. Breakfasts and dinners at the hotel restaurant were excellent; never had lunch at the restaurant, so cannot comment. The hotel staff was friendly, efficient and very accommodating. They smilingly and flawlessly arranged our requests for changes to our stay and accommodations, while check-in was a madhouse and the hotel was full.

« God place to stay »

We stayed here one night during our tripp along Columbia River. The hotel is located just on the river bank with great views over the water. Clean nice rooms, a god bar. We did not eat dinner at the restaurant, but it looked very nice. Brekfast where very good, sitting outside and looking out over the river. Walking to the city center takes about 10 minutes. I would consider staying here again.

    4
    « Good »

We only stayed here for one night, but it was cool. We had a river view room. The Hood River Bridge crosses the river right next to the hotel. The bride was built in 1924 and it sounds like it was built earlier than that. The noise may be charming to some, but it wasn't to me. The room was clean and very spacious, but it also had a motel smell to it. The place was fairly pricey. If I came back this way, I would probably try to stay at one of the other places that had a river view from the cliffs. On the bright side, the room did come with a certificate for breakfast and the food and the service were both very good.

    4
    « Bike ride »

Great view along the Columbia River with a clean room. Had a good sleep even though the bed was on the soft side for me. The complimentary breakfast was good and again we had a great view of the river. The staff was nice and courteous and I would stay there again.

    « Who would've thought?! »

We spent our last 2 nights in Oregon at this Best Western. We weren't expecting much, and since it was the end of our trip we were OK with that. But lo and behold it turned out to be a terrific place to stay! The Inn is right on the river and quite close to the iconic Hood River Bridge built in 1934. Location and food are the big pluses for this Inn. It is hard to believe that a restaurant in a chain hotel can turn out great food, but this one does. We ate both dinners there, and our food was delicious (although I do not recommend the salmon cake appetizer). Each evening after dinner we enjoyed walking along the river path. Breakfasts were amazing -- and, even more amazing, they came with the price of the room! Ingredients were fresh and of high quality. We were especially grateful for very tasty bacon and eggs and real, not instant, Bob's Red Mill Oatmeal. We didn't have a lot of time in the area, but we spent a day in Washington exploring their side of the gorge. The bridge makes for an easy (and fun) ride into Washington. Toll is only $1 each way. Another reason we chose to stay here was its proximity to Portland's airport. Our flight left at 11:00 AM and it was a very easy drive from the Inn to get us to the airport in plenty of time. That side of Portland is not clogged with commuter traffic. So I highly recommend Best Western Plus - Hood River.

We enjoyed our brief visit to the BW Hood River. The hotel is conveniently located to Government Camp city center. Next door is a great Little restaurant and micro brewery. The jacuzzi tub was also wonderful. David

« Stunning view and exceptional rooms »

The Hood River Inn has a luxurious feel with the beautiful, spacious rooms and all the amenities. Its proximity to the Columbia River makes this a special place. The splurge for a view room is worth it! Great breakfast at the Riverside Grill.

    « Beautiful area »

Nice view of the Columbia river from the room. Enjoyed watching the boats and water recreation. Restaurant on site was good. Pool was ok but noisy due to nearby highway. Nice walking path to downtown area. Shares the parking lot with Starbucks, McDonald's and a military.

« Great place to stay »

We had a great experience here. Helpful staff. Nice room. Beautiful riverside bar/restaurant with yummy food. We had some local salmon for dinner and it was delicious. Also hot tub and pool right on the river. Great experience. I would recommend it!

« First rate view of Hood River. A real treat! »

Love the location of the hotel. What's not to like about this area of Oregon, or any area of the state. Just a beautiful state. Make sure you ask for a river view room on the top floor for optimum view of the river. Lovely rooms with nice amenities. As a big plus for hotel, the restaurant is excellent especially if the weather is nice and you can sit outside. Food is yummy!

« Family stay at Hood River Best Western »

Great location and very nice hotel. The Columbia George is a beautiful place to visit. I was worried about it being too hot; however, we found hikes in the forest that provided plenty of shade. Wish I had time to check out the fishing.

« Good location, good breakfast and ok rooms »

My wife and I stayed at this hotel on weekend in late May. We really liked the location of this hotel (on columbia river). I booked this hotel well in advance (2 months) and requested a quite room. We were given a suite on ground floor facing Hwy. It was bit too noisy so I had to ask reception for a fan (for white noise). The room was clean but require some updating. The complimentary breakfast was very good. We really enjoyed our morning walks along the banks of Columbia river. Overall, I would say this is a reasonable hotel.

« Best hotel in town »

I don't think there are many options for hotels in Hood River. But the BW is a great option and the view out the window is fantastic. Great breakfast and restaurant on site for diner is very good. Location is great on the river and only a few blocks away from the downtown area.

« Outstanding place to stay in Hood River »

This Best Western is like no other. It far exceeds what one things of with this brand. The accommodations are a cut above and the restaurant and lounge will both leave you wanting to return. And, the views of Hood River are simply beautiful. Once at the hotel your first thought may be can I extend my stay!

« Three Rs in Hood River »

When talking about the Hood River Inn, one really has to review the Riverside Restaurant and the Columbia River itself along with the hotel. The hotel is a better than average Best Western hotel. A room with a river view bumps it up to near top tier. The amazing food at the Riverside Restaurant pushes the whole stay over the top! By far, this was the best free breakfast we have ever enjoyed. And the best view. The entire stay is a bargain if you look at it this way!

    « On the river »

Nice place to stay, clean room, excellent breakfast. My room was on the first floor and you can walk right out to the river from your slider. The bar also serves dinner which was nice because we did not a reservation.

    « Great vacation spot »

Our family spent almost a week at this hotel at the beginning of the summer. It was a wonderful hotel, very clean and modern and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and quiet. The bar and restaurant were outstanding. We enjoyed breakfast outdoors on the patio almost every morning, and dinner out on the patio once. Everything about this hotel was top notch, and we plan on returning as soon as we can!

« Went downhill since last time we stayed »

Pretty disappointed in the property and staff. Room was clean but toilet paper holder kept falling off the wall and when I tried to take a bath the stopper would not work. Shower was fine I just prefer to soak in the bath. We went to the lounge to have a few drinks and get dinner and after waiting quite a while our waitress finally came over and told us how busy they were with 3 weddings going on. There were less than 10 people in the lounge. She took our drink order and my husband ordered a cup of clam chowder. It was 10-15 minutes before we got either and the clam chowder was Luke warm. We looked at the dinner menu and it was way fancier than we wanted for a lounge atmosphere and our waitress kept disappearing so we called a taxi and went somewhere else to eat and drink. Staff was not friendly at all. Overall I am really disappointed and will stay somewhere else next time.

« One of the top Best Western properties I've ever stayed in »

This is NOT your normal Best Western motel. Not only do many rooms have a killer view of the Columbia river, but the entire property is first class, with a great restaurant with outside seating (weather permitting) and a first class bar. The property is very modern, with nice art work spread throughout. Check in was pleasant and I've found ALL staff to be extremely customer service oriented. It also has inside and outside spas, a nice pool, laundry facilities, vending, just about everything you could ask for.

    5
« Relax with River View »

Perfect location on Columbia River - great room with balcony - clean and comfortable; complimentary breakfast at in-house restaurant. Restaurant and bar also on river with good food and pleasant ambiance.

    4
    « Nice, but overpriced »

There is nothing wrong with this hotel, but the rates are really too high for what you get. Yes, the view of the river is great, but there is a metal bridge next door that makes a lot of noise with every car that passes, making sitting outside less enjoyable. The breakfast is good; lots of choices of full plates. Dinner was also good.

    « Great hotel »

We stayed in the east wing in a river view room. This wing is either new or remodeled and very nice. The hotel is next to the highway so there is road noise when you are out at the pool. I imagine the rooms on that side of the hotel can be quite loud as well. The restaurant there is beautiful and right on the river. I'm ready to go back!

    5
    « Complimentary sit-down breakfast! »

The Best Western Plus was an excellent place to stay in Hood River. The staff was friendly and always available for questions. The room was clean and tidy. The pool and hot tub had a glass enclosure so you can have an excellent view of the river. I would recommend going at sunset, it was just beautiful. Breakfast is included with the room and the restaurant also boasts a similar view of the river. You have the option of eating inside or outside (depending on weather). We were surprised when we could order select things off the menu at no charge and complimentary coffee and tea. It was only a 15 minute walk to Downtown Hood River where you can walk around the shops and get food. I would definitely stay at this property again.

    « A Gem of A Surprise »

My wife and I spent our last night in Oregon last week at the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn located in the small tourist friendly community of Hood River. Upon check in, we were told that we had a third floor room with a river view - a welcome surprise since I hadn't requested such a room. When we unlocked our door, we were in for another surprise - we had a walk out balcony overlooking not only the Columbia River but the hotel's swimming pool, the bridge connecting Oregon and Washington, and the scenic hills on the opposite side of the river. Due to this special amenity, we were able to sit outdoors, relax, and watch a variety of river activity, including not only people rowing, but an old fashioned sternwheeler and a freighter both slowly make their way down river. What a treat! As a result, I ended up taking lots and lots of memorable pictures. Our bathroom had his and her sinks, a huge walk in marble tiled shower, oversized towels, and a fan which kept the wall mirror above our sinks from doing what so often happens - steaming up. In addition, our room included two comfortable chairs instead of the usual one. And, our bed was not only comfortable, but came with regular sized pillows instead of a series of underwhelming mini sized pillows. The next morning we ate a delicious breakfast on the sprawling restaurant deck overlooking the Columbia River and the well used nearby guest walking trail. In addition to an attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable server, I was very impressed with what I saw lots of other hotel guests eating - ricotta filled crepes with fresh strawberries and real whipped cream. And, the fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious. Collectively, what we ate and experienced was a very welcome upgrade from the usual limited choice, fast paced motel breakfast we've had on more than one occasion. Eating breakfast here was a great way to start what turned out to be a wonderful day focused on sightseeing activities in the absolutely gorgeous Columbia River Gorge. I would classify the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn as a premier property - one which could easily pass for a Marriott or a Hilton. Everything about it was first class - including the people who worked at the reservation counter. This is a gem of a property - one which my wife and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at again when we return to the Hood River area.

    « Nothing special. »

Very overpriced for what you get. If it was supposed to be a resort I didn't find the features. An extremely large facility with few amenities. Counter people were rude at checkin, like they were doing me a favor and they already had my money. I don't like staying at places where you have to pay in advance. it is difficult to get your money back if you have to cancel.

« Every hotel should have staff like this... »

A previous reviewer complained that, "This place is crowded!". Well, there's a good reason everyone wants to stay here! I booked a night a week prior to arriving. We got into town earlier than expected and, even though it was a busy Sunday, Doug was more than willing to get us off the road and into a freshly made-up room at 2 pm. We had everything we could need for a night, or even a week, in our room. Doug was super knowledgeable about the area, and was able to help us with some special requests since we were heading out for a week in the mountains, off the grid. We came back the next Saturday and decided to stay another night. Doug was there at the desk again, and got us checked in quickly, even without a reservation this time. EVERY member we met up with at this hotel was consistently professional, the free breakfast was WAY beyond a self serve waffle machine and cereal, AND for at least half of the rooms, you get a dreamy view of the Columbia. Thank you, Doug, for making this part of our trip easy!

« Dated, crowded, and more like a doggy daycare than a hotel »

Be sure that you get written confirmation of your room price least you are quoted one and charged another. We witnessed another guest arguing the price they were quoted on check in vs the price they were charged at check out. The same thing happened to us. They will argue to the point of manipulation. Guess if they charge 25 dollars more per guest they can make quite a profit. I am a BW reward loyal customer and have paid 450 a night for a quality room, but I do not like being taken advantage of. Be prepared to wait twenty minutes to check in. This place is crowded! Be prepared to drive around the parking lot five times before finding a space which will be no where near your room. The lumber package and the huge dumpster on the west end of the building has been there for two years with no effort to move it. The place is dated and for the second time we have stayed they haven't even put liners in the garbage cans in the suite. Cutting corners perhaps? Talk about your doggy daycare. There were as many dogs as patrons. Wow! It's amazing we didn't leave with fleas! Just what you want to do, listen to dogs barking underneath you on your vacation. On a positive note the view was beautiful and the breakfast was the best! Can't imagine returning though to an overpriced, very dated establishment when the front office reception staff are rude, impatient and argumentative when a customer has a concern about their bill.

« Riverside hotel with balconies overlooking the river »

3 story hotel overlooking Hood River, with greenspace and walking trail at riverside. Rooms with balconies looking toward river as well. Breakfast (included) on the open-air deck was pleasant except for sunglare from the river itself. Very helpful front desk staff who steered us to a lesser known microbrewery, just across the bridge into Washington state - great recommendation! Average size, clean room free self-park.

    5
    « Massage »

I actually came here for a massage. By booking a massage, you get access to the pool/gym area. It was so nice with the most amazing view of the river and mountains! There's a nice walking path just behind the hotel as well. The staff was really helpful.

« Fantastic room and what a view! »

We spent 2 nights here while hiking the Columbia Gorge. The view from this hotel can't be beat overlooking the Columbia River. The location was convenient right off the highway and easy access into town for dinners. It has a Starbucks adjacent in the parking lot! Our room was clean and spacious well appointed. The Riverside restaurant offers nice food any time of day we had dinner here one evening on the patio overlooking the water and breakfast each morning. This is a great choice if you are looking to stay in the area

    « Here for a Wedding »

You couldn't ask for a better location. I'm a first timer to Oregon and had no idea what to expect. The hotel, accommodations and staff have been great. If you are visiting Hood River, I 100% reccommend staying here.

    « Great View & Great Staff »

We stopped at this hotel merely because it was convenient, and it turned into one of the great surprises of our trip. From the moment I walked in, the staff was helpful and considerate. I had paid extra for a river-view room, and it was worth it. The room was spacious and had a great balcony overlooking the river. I would happily stay here again. I loved it.

    5
    « Excellent location »

This was our first time in Hood River. Staying at this hotel was a great choice. The views of the Columbia River was amazing. Make sure you ask for a river view with balcony. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The free breakfast has been the best in our two week road trip. The breakfast is served in highly Rated restaurant. Will stay again.

« pretty and very quiet; super ammenities »

room was quiet , clean, great layout with all ammenties from umbrella, tv, microwave, nice bathroom, hair dryer, desk, two chairs , window, great vents and quick service at check in. lots of parking and right on river. also beautiful pool, hot tub and exercise room with tvs on machine. restaurant right there gives free breakfast which is better than any I have had and was very pretty at night and lot of people at dinner there; great view of Button Bridge and rentals for jet skis, etc down a little beach area. you can walk and we did the whole river walkway over to the Hook which was about five miles or so. pretty and great workout. Starbucks right there if you want a quick coffee , gas station and also a mcdonalds if you want that. you can walk or drive two minutes to town and two miles to Panorama Point. we went over button bridge to Washington to see Mt. Adams , white salmon village and Mt. Hood. one dollar toll each way and that bridge is scary narrow. great place to chill out and stay.

« Better than a typical BW, but still problems »

Several things about this hotel are great, including the location on the river, free upscale breakfast at their restaurant that's generally of good quality (at least for a typical hotel, recent updating/modernization, and solid square footage including double sinks in some rooms. There's also a nice pool and hot tub that overlooks the river as well. However, the balconies aren't terribly clean if you have a river-view room, the screens have a lot of cobwebs and insects, the beds were capital H horrible (my feet were literally higher up than my head and we had to call maintenance us to help us move the mattress around so at least it was tolerable) and it's expensive for the type of hotel you're getting. It's a Best Western, after all, so $220 seems somewhat high. It's one of the only options in the area, though, so choices are limited. Overall, it's average with a few amenities that make it stand out, but the beds alone made our short stay somewhat unpleasant.

« Great stay for short duration »

Stayed at this hotel as it was close by the Mt. Hood Railway station as we were going on the train the next day. Overall, the stay was great. The rooms were clean and like the fact that they had a microwave (not a lot of places have this) which was a big plus (hence the name?). The facilities was kept well and there was a nice view of the river. Also have to mentioned the complimentary breakfast that wasn't your typical "buffet hot breakfast" in many of the Best Western hotel chains. This was held at the on-site restaurant and there was a good selection of food from the menu that you got to choose from. The food was done very well and was very happy with this experience. One minor issue: We usually check our beds for bugs and surprised to see an earwig crawling around under the bed sheets. I believe it's just one of those things where things happen and can't fault the hotel (I hope anyways). If we are around this area again, don't mind staying here. Thanks for the pleasant experience.

    « room wasn't clean »

Stains on sheets to the point where I wasn't even sure they had been washed, could hear the people in rooms above and next to us, walking around and doors slamming shut. The location isn't that great, you'll have to drive if you want to enjoy Hood River. The restaurant at the hotel is not great but just as expensive as one of the amazing local restaurants and again, didn't feel very clean to me. The pool is nice, probably could be a bit bigger considering how large the hotel is......

« Always a great stay but prices are getting high »

Not sure if it is summer pricing or what but the prices are getting way high for the basement room we stayed in and they would NOT honor a Veterans discount. This property has always given me a Veterans discount but they told me they would NOT this time. I wonder what happen to their military appreciation. A sad commentary for the managements state of mind when offering Veterans discounts. It is about bottom dollar and has little to do with their "thanks and appreciation". I am not sure what to think about this but it is a nice property and I would stay here again. Please Best Western......check your outrageous price on your dark basement rooms. Be realistic at least.

« Outstanding service and very clean comfortable rooms »

They helped us find a room after we made a mistake on booking. Next day needed to change our room and they upgraded us to a suite at no extra charge. Awesome staff and very friendly and went above and beyond to help us. Rooms immaculate and I am picky.Everyone working there friendly ,even cleaning crew. Food awesome also. Highly recommend this hotel.

    « Peaceful and Comfortable »

As part of my week long get away in Oregon I ended my trip in Hood River as I wished to hike Mt Hood as well as the various other valley options. I found the Best Western Plus in my search for accommodations and chose it. It was a great choice, the room was ordinary, but comfortable. It was convenient to great outdoors activities and sits right on the Columbia River. The views from the hot tube and restaurant were spectacular. I did not have a river front room. The food in the restaurant/lounge was excellent, truly a great dining experience.

« Great Location, dining is expensive »

Love this location and the overall hotel. Rooms are nice. Pool and hot tub outside, but well kept. We've stayed in both wings and the remodeled executive suites are a very nice stay, especially for the price. Excellent views of the river, comfortable beds and room is adequate size. Having a balcony or patio is an added plus for enjoying the views. The breakfast options are great for a substantive and tasty made to order meal, included with the room. We particularly like the dining room outside deck, with a large amount of tables, so getting a seat is usually not a problem. They've added canvas awnings to protect form the sun as an added draw to enjoying the beautiful river view while you dine. One change I don't like, Happy Hour is not available on the deck any longer, and the appetizer choices eating outside are different from the bar inside, and very limited. Last time we came we only had house wine, because wine choices by the glass (and especially the bottle) are quite expensive considering this is Hood River. They do have an adequate house red blend option for the value conscious. Overall we love this place and have brought friends, get good value for the room and breakfast, but I would look for other options for lunch and dinner unless its a special occasion where price is not as important.

« Crap wifi in room 101. Great big room and on the river »

For 179 US, plus taxes, I expect a strong wifi signal in my room. My iPad had 2 bars of signal, but my iPhone SE had either 1, or nothing at all. I had to go to the lobby to get a proper signal. Not nearly good enough Best Western! When I complained, I got the usual, tired old story from the front desk, which goes as follows. Oh, yes, we're going to do a major upgrade of the wifi soon. Yeah right. All travellers have heard that rubbish story before. In a little Mom and Pop motel, I'd suck it up. But not in a pricey Best Western. Fix the problem and don't let the installer leave until he's tested the signal in every room.

« On the River for Fireworks! »

Location was beautiful! We had a balcony so it was an added plus. The toll bridge was nearby but I can sleep through almost anything. My partner, not so much and instead of the fresh air I prefer, we were forced to use the a/c. Breakfast was WONDERFUL with many choices and the staff from the restaurant to the check in desk were stellar!

    « Great spot »

Our experience at the Best Western Hood River was fantastic. Booked online through their website and got a good rate. Opted for the King River view. Checked in early and got our room right away. We stayed in the newer section of the hotel. Room was large and spotless. The view takes your breath away as soon as you open the door. Hotel is easy to find. There's ample parking. Mc Donald's and Starbucks adjacent to parking lot. Easy drive to charming downtown Hood River. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We really appreciated the included full breakfast in the restaurant.

Pros: Excellent breakfast, served in dining room included in stay. Choose from many menu options. Great service and beautiful view. The dining room will undergo renovations soon. Coupon for discount at supper offered and we used it. Pleasant front desk reception staff. Comfortable bed. Good pool and gym area. Cons: Hallways with low ceilings. Noisy first night of two night stay. Room was adequate, not spacious.

    « Wonderful Weekend »

Came to Hood River to relax and do some kayaking with a friend. Had a great stay as always at the Hood River Inn. The staff was amazing. We accessed the water from the hotel dock once and had a nice lunch on the deck. The hot tub was great after a long day on the water kayaking in high winds. I recommend this place to anyone wanting a top notch hotel at a very affordable price. So easy to stay here.

We have stayed here multiple times and had a great experience each time. We stopped here on a bicycle tour of the Columbia Gorge. The people at the desk were very friendly. They checked us in immediately well before the standard check-in time. We were upgraded to a beautiful large room with a spectacular view of the river. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. This is the place to stay in Hood River.

This is really a great hotel, don't let the brand best Western for you, the plus makes a big difference, the best best Western I've ever stayed at, location is amazing, get a Riverview room even if it costs more it's worth it! The property is very nice lobby restaurant bar are all great with nice views of the river, the pool and Jacuzzi are outstanding, and the room was very well done and very clean and comfortable, parking is very convenient, was recommended here by my friend that lives in town and I think there are many times for it

    « Great Hotel »

The hotel has stairs you will need to carry your luggage up to reach the check-in desk. You would think they'd provide a ramp but they don't. Other than that it's a great stay, most rooms face the river so the views are nice. It's a dog friendly hotel, and the rooms are modern and spacious. The restaurant a joined to the hotel has great food and the service is good. Sound proof walls which makes it very quite. Most rooms have a frig and flat screen TV. The hotel is close to other eateries if you care to eat outside the hotel.

« Great location and room type for family of four »

Just traveled to Oregon for a week and spent 3 nights at the Best Western. We had the 2 bedroom king river view suite which was perfect for 2 adults and 2 teens. Like an apartment. The staff was courteous and helpful when we checked in; the suite was clean and just what we needed (great beds too!). Would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.

    « Perfect! »

If only we could have a hotel this nice and comfortable everywhere we travel. The beds and pillows were fantastic. The WiFi was fast. The best part was the restaurant. We ate both breakfast and lunch here and it was beyond good. Nice balcony overlooking the river.

If you are staying in this area then this hotel is a must! Fantastic riverside location with great views. Big, spacious, modern rooms with comfy beds and everything you could ask for plus in a hotel room. Great pool and gym. Short walk into town. Food in restaurant and breakfast us also really good. Best thing however is the service. Staff here are super friendly, nice and efficient. They really made our stay. Would so stay again and would recommend to anyone! Fab stay!

    « Lovely and a perfect location »

My daughter recommended this hotel. She loves Hood River and she knows our taste. She was not wrong. We had an executive King room with a balcony on the river side. It was in the east wing which is child and pet free which after a week long holiday was a perfect choice. We arrived an hour earlier than check in and were immediately accommodated. The room was on the top floor and we had a panoramic view of the bridge down the river. The room was large and very comfortable. And very quiet!!!! We will definitely return.

    « Hood River »

Great Location off of Hwy 84, parallel to the Columbia river. I had a patio room 50' from the river and the view of the Hood River bridge was awesome. Best Burger I had in a long time. It's a beautiful place that I found by accident. Loved it.

« Good location, clean and well equipped comfortable rooms. »

Lovely view of river through patio doors in our room, on a nicer day it would have been lovely to sit out on our balcony and watch the activity on the river. Room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. Food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Reason not 5* is slow service, both for dinner and breakfast, and a very noisy fridge. When the problem with the fridge was reported to reception as leaving there was no apology for the disturbed sleep, just a note made for it to be fixed.

    « Great Location for a Night's Pause »

We travel between Corvallis, OR and Richland, WA and this location is just right for breaking up the trip. The hotel is very nice, the rooms are spacious, the staff personnel are very, very nice and friendly and are so very willing to assist the patrons. The location is right along the Columbia River and affords pleasant walks, wonderful views, and total relaxation. We have not tried the outdoor pool or the exercise room, but they are busy with other patrons. We now stop here every time we travel up and down the Columbia River Gorge. Note: request a third floor room in the east wing--best views, quiet, and slightly larger room.

« Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! »

Stayed overnight for our anniversary! Our 3rd floor executive king room was beautiful and well appointed! Loved the private lanai overlooking the river!! What an amazing view! The property offered a discounted entrée at The Riverside restaurant onsite! Amazing meal and views from the deck! Took advantage of the outdoor pool (there is also an indoor pool) which was conveniently open until 11:00. The property is located on the east end of the waterfront walking path that winds under the bridge and around the marina and will take you to downtown if you feel like a jaunt. The property also offers complimentary breakfast at the Riverside restaurant. Breakfast is made to order rather than the standard continental fare. We will definitely return when we can stay longer!

    « Fantastic stay »

We stayed here passing through. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was a junior suite with a view of the river. Absolutely great. The resturant is very good with a very wide selection of local wines. While not cheap it was a value with the complementary made to older gull service breakfast and discounted dinner. I highly recommend a stay here.

« Only hotel on the water here »

This was the first time we had gone to Oregon and were lucky to stay at this hotel. I highly recommend it. It's right on the water; very well kept, clean and there is an excellent restaurant here too called River Side. Only detrimental thing was that the wifi was a bit iffy.

« Riverside Suites great for families! »

We were traveling with 3 families with 7 adults, 6 kids from 4-12, and a baby, and stayed in the Riverside Suites for 5 days as our take off point for hiking the Columbia Gorge, visiting Mt. Hood, fruit picking along the Fruit Loop, white water rafting (we loved Zoller's!!), and water play in the Columbia River. Booked several months ahead of time (there are only 11 suites) in order to get the entire second floor, and it was perfect, with the large balconies and open layouts and picture windows throughout with views of the Columbia River. We had dinner the first night at Riverside, and the food was well-prepared. The full kitchens allowed us to comfortably order the complimentary breakfast back (which was made to order and tasty, and kids could actually get half portions of a lot of the items on the adult menu, which made our preteens happy) so that wrangling the kids in the morning was easier, and even made dinner one evening after picking up salmon and steak from Rosauer's and local fruits and veggies along the Fruit Loop and at roadside stands. The heated pool and hot tub felt great after being out all day. The path along the river was perfect for grandpa and the little ones to stroll, and a decent take-off point for our joggers. Would have ideally liked laundry in room but there was coin-op laundry on premise in the next building. Great experience, we knew we had wanted to stay here as we had stayed before with a smaller group, and we were not disappointed!

    « beautiful spot »

A lovely spot on the Columbia River! Watched Ospreys and swallows with my morning coffee. Our room was well equipped with all the amenities we needed. The staff were excellent and the food in the dining room far superior to what I expected of a Best Western Plus! Fresh local produce and local wines made the experience delightful!

First visit to Oregon. Hotel had been used by a friend's daughter for a wedding reception and they really recommended the hotel and the Trip Advisor reviews were very good so we chose the Best Western Plus Hood River for a 2 night stay. Property offers Columbia River facing rooms and parking lot facing rooms. The river facing rooms come at a premium of about $20 a day. Not planning to stay in the room and watch the river and being fundamentally cheap I chose the parking lot room and spent the money on food. The room included a "free breakfast" from a select portion of the menu that is clearly marked. The free choices are more than sufficient in volume, choices and quality. Stay inside the breakfast boundaries and it is a deal - go outside the boundaries and free can be become costly. Bacon out this world as was oatmeal. Trying to find a reason to go back.

We chose Best Western Hotel for our wedding ceremony/ reception and I can say that I know I made the perfect choice. The staff is excellent, very easy going, very helpful! We had the best time. Our room was clean and room service was quick when amenities were needed. The view of the river is incredible. This hotel was perfect all the way around and can't forget to mention delicious breakfast!!!! Thank you Hood River Inn for making our wedding day unforgettable and having all the stress on their staff rather than myself!

    « Location, location, location! »

We loved our riverside suite with the spacious living/dining area and two distinct sleeping areas. You cannot beat the views from these suites, as you are right on the river bank. Kayaks and paddle boards are available for rental right below the hotel and there is a pretty walking trails along the water. Getting to any number of hiking trails, waterfalls, breweries or restaurants is easily done in minutes from the hotel. We enjoyed the breakfasts in the on-site restaurant. They are complimentary and far exceed the usual fare of buffet style or continental options. Here you are served and choose from an excellent and varied menu. Portions are extremely generous and service friendly and gracious. You can sit outside or inside. Both are lovely. Dinner options are good too. We even enjoyed sitting on the outside deck area for a glass of wine and then view. Warm complimentary bread and olives are served if you only order a drink.

We stayed one night and would have loved to stay longer! The staff was so accommodating and the rooms comfortable. The restaurant overlooking the river was fabulous! The presentation of the food was beautiful, service excellent and the meal fabulous! We'd recommend it!

Fabulous hotel. Beautiful huge rooms with river view and a walkway all the way downtown. Everything was modern, clean and expertly done. We got 2 sit down free breakfasts and half price for one dinner entry. The food was delicious. They had an excellent bar with happy hour from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Would highly recommend.

« Best place to stay in Hood River Oregon »

Great hotel. Right on the Columbia River. Great views of the river, with sailboats sailing buy. Delicious food and creative menu in the dining room. A full breakfast is free with stay each morning. I had a frittata that was out of this world. The rooms are clean and have double vanities (a must when traveling with my daughter) The price was right, the staff friendly and helpful, can't say enough good about this hotel.

« Avoid if you can »

Hotel prices are overrated, but moreover it's nowhere quiet (not even in your room) due to I-84 AND loading dock next to room. Also worn-down matress. So my wife and I had a very bad stay there. If I visit Hood River again I would certainly look for a hotel further away fom I-84.

    « Don't Be Late For Breakfast! »

Hotel was great for the one night and the breakfast was fantastic. Beautiful view right on the river. What a perfect place to celebrate Father's Day. The corned beef hash was very good too. The Columbia River was spectacular and the restaurant accommodates sitting right next to the water. There is a walking path and much to do for the kids.

« Great Hotel - Even Better Breakfast »

I was quite pleased with my stay at this Best Western. I stay at many hotels for business and this particular hotel really stood out to me for its customer service. The check in process was quick and painless, and the Front Desk Supervisor was very friendly. The room itself had everything I needed and the view of the river was an added bonus. The next morning we had breakfast and I was surprised by the quality! It was a plated breakfast and was really very good. The waitstaff were very friendly and provided excellent service too. Overall I would definitely stay here again in the future, and recommend it to anyone headed to that area.

    « over priced »

We have our platinum BW card we use quite often, but your prices are making me look at comparable hotels in the future. Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Marriott Courtyard & Comfort Inn. Their prices are almost $100 less.

    « Great view »

This is easy to find on the edge of town. The view is superb. The rooms are very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's a good stop-off point. The restaurant has good food both for breakfast and dinner.

    « Great location »

The hotel is very accessible, right off the highway. We had a small convention here, and this property accommodated us very nicely. There is one separate building with a large room where we held most of our functions, with smaller break-out rooms available in the main building. Food and beverage service was very good - plenty of pleasant and help staff. I spent very little time in the room, unfortunately, as it offered a nice view of the river with a small patio to sit outside. The room itself was fine - a little small, but clean and decently decorated.

    « Yobro »

Great Just if you stay at south end facing the freeway It's hard to sleep They provide ear plugs but not comfortable to sleep in. I recommend leaving ac , heater or fan on for white noise.. They have great coupons they give out for meals .. But FYI the restaurant closes at nine And My wife and I show up at 9:30 boo hoo Ended up eating at bar " not so good but ok" Staff was great Rooms clean If your into walking with lots to see ? This is the place !!

« All about the view »

This BW is an older hotel, with a wonderful view. The rooms are small and the decor somewhat dated. The restaurant has a good menu - we enjoyed a variety of breakfast foods and only one dinner. The hot tub is a treat, especially when the temperatures are cooler. There is a glass panel wall protecting the pool and hot tub from the incessant wind; it is very much needed. There are pool towels in the room, and these must be returned to the room as they are counted as inventory. There is a card in the room with the towels explaining if you do not return the towels you will be charged $15 for each one. My wife used one of these towels and left it on the bathroom floor the next morning to be exchanged for a clean one... which never arrived. If I had not checked we would have had to bear the cost of the hotel's error. The hotel is in a great location. We crossed the bridge into WA and went wine tasting at Maryhill Winery, just a 30 minute drive away. Lovely wines and what a view! check out the amphitheater. Mt Hood is also a short drive away, approximately 1 1/4 hours. This is a scenic drive with many opportunities to stop and take photos of the mountain as you drive closer. Stop at Lake Trillium for a perfect photo opportunity of the lake and Mt Hood reflected in it. The highway is right there and noisy when one is outside.

    « Great stay »

Great hotel. We had a room with an amazing view of the Columbia River. Room was very clean and well maintained. Everyone was really pleasant and friendly. Food in the restaurant was very bland except for the Salmon my husband had. We also thought it was a very limited menu, only had one special for the night. We will be returning soon but probably won't eat at the restaurant.

    4
« Pretty Darn Good, but... »

This is a great hotel, no question. Staff are friendly. Restaurant serves outstanding food [You have to have the lamb chops!] and breakfast is filling. Here's my issues given the price point for my room: I was disappointed with the interior of the room. I found the bathroom door had been patched up. The wood paneling [Who has wood paneling in hotel rooms these days?] was scratched in places next to the bed. Most surprising was how small the HDTV was! Laying in bed, I could hardly see anything clearly. Seating at the edge of the bed was the only alternative to watch TV.

    « Stunning Location »

You won't believe this is a Best Western! Stunning location right on the river. Odd number rooms are River view. Easy to get into quaint little town center with fun shops and good restaurants. It is windy and cool at the river so bring a jacket.

    4
« Great views, friendly staff »

The title pretty much says it. Our room was on the river side of the property. Our suite was nicely furnished. Shower only, no tub in the suite we upgraded to, thus the rating. Restaurant and lounge were decent enough.

    5
« We keep coming back, everything is so nice! »

We love staying at the Hood River Inn. A perfect location on the edge of the river starts the list of good things. They love pets, they have a terrific restaurant, maybe the best in town! A swimming pool and hot tub with a view of the Gorge, and a large fitness room. The windows eliminate the noise of the nearby freeway, and the first floor doors open right onto your very own grassy front yard.

    4
« Nice location at columbia river »

The location is really great. You have a perfect view on the columbia river. Our room in the west wing however had parking lot view but was nice equipped and quite spacy. There is only one small elevator available to go to the upper floors. The restaurant is busy but offers good food fair priced.

    5
    « Consistently excellent »

I stay in Best Westerns whenever they are available because they are mostly pet friendly. This is the nicest of all!! We always request a room on the river side. The view is stunning. We enjoy the walking paths along the river and into this vibrant little town.

    « Great - just missing a few things »

Great Hotel, just don't expect any food or beverage pool service, which is a big bummer. We were a big group with multiple families with kids. After a couple of hours at the pool, everyone wanted some snacks and food. They do not offer any pool service and you are also not allowed to bring any food or drinks. They are really missing the boat on this one.

    5
« Excellent facility in Hood River Oregon »

This Motel is as good as you will find anyplace. Exceeds what you would expect to find in a community the size of Hood River. Facility is constantly being upgraded. Quality of the food in the restaurant was above expectations.

We will come back to your place the next time we are in Hood River. It was pleasant and the staff very accomodating.. The food was excellent. Love the desserts!! Close to the golf course we played and we had time to do some window shopping downtown. Your pool was marvelous after a day of golf.

    « A fab hotel! »

We stayed here one night of our Pacific Northwest Vacation. It is a really lovely hotel. To begin with, the reception folks are pleasant and helpful. When you get to your room you find it equipped with robes and slippers for each guest. The bathroom is stocked with upscale toiletries. We chose to upgrade to a room overlooking the river and weren't sorry. We could sit out on our little patio and just watch the river flow. Very restful. There is a fully equipped fitness room, including a hot tub and sauna, and a pool. Breakfast is included, and it's not that typical buffet of slightly stale English muffins and bagels that you toast and then spread with low-quality jelly. No reheated sausage or precooked bacon. No food-distributor fruit that came in big plastic tubs. Breakfast is off the menu in the dining room, sit-dow-get-waited-on breakfast. Good stuff. My husband is the bacon and eggs type but I had a "veggie bowl" of sautéed zucchini, lentils, leeks, mushrooms and more. It was listed as topped with two eggs but I asked for egg whites--no problem. One suggestion: if you are a light sleeper, don't leave your sliding glass door open at night (there's a screen so you could do that). It is pleasant to have the cool evening air instead of an air conditioner but in the morning the traffic across the bridge on one side, and out the front on the other can be heard. There are ear plugs in the bathroom, though, so give it a try if you like natural outside air as much as we do! All in all, a totally positive experience! All in all an excellent experience.

    4
    « Spectacular location »

This is definitely a Best Western plus property. Everything about the hotel from location to the room and services not to mention one if the best on site restaurants in the area. View from the main dining room of the area the river and mountains is spectacular. Rooms are large and very comfortable unfortunately you have to pay the price for all this....it is not a cheap date.

    5
« Wish we could have stayed longer »

I didn't expect to like what I thought would just be a nice BW hotel as much as I did and wish we could have stayed more than the one night. The rooms with a view are worth the extra $$, and I agree with other reviewers that the amenities and staff are great and the food --in our case, breakfast and Happy Hour -- were "top-notch" and made me want to return and try lunch and dinner there next time. We were traveling with a pet and found the extra $l5 charge super reasonable and the welcome package for him to be a treat of surprising quality.

« Hood River Oregon stay »

The Riverside Restaurant has the best view of the Columbia River and the food was excellent. Sit on the terrace and enjoy a glass of wine. Staff is friendly and courteous. Rooms are clean and well equipped with dishwasher, frig and cooking essentials. Fitness center overlooks pool and river. Paddle boarding rental beside hotel. You'll enjoy your stay!!

    5
    « Can't beat this hotel! »

Our room had a great view of the Columbia River right on the water. The amenities were great, the food was top-notch, and the staff was very helpful and courteous, all for a great value. Be sure to book early, though, places like this are hard to come by!

« Eventful visit due to derailment »

My sister and I had some frustration trying to get to the hotel due to the train derailment. We loved the location and the food and service was excellent. I would rate higher but for a blocked sink in room 273 and noisy air conditioning unit.

« Best view and bang for buck »

This is how much we love this hotel...it is our third stay in 14 months. We spent two anniversaries here and then we came here (at our suggestion) with two couples we meet for a couples' weekend every year. The other two couples were so impressed they didn't want to eat anywhere else. We have traveled together to the San Juan Islands and the WA and OR coast but this location was our favorite. You can visit numerous wineries and breweries in Hood River and also enjoy its charm and views. You can't beat the view, food or service at the Best Western Plus in Hood River! We had two breakfasts and dinners on all three occasions. It is hard to resist their food and ambiance. Trust me! You won't be disappointed.

    3
    « OK Hotel »

We stayed there for 1 night. It smelt like mildew and the young man at the front desk could of been more friendly. The restaurant that shared the parking lot had decent food. This hotel is located 1 hr outside Portland and it's a ski town. Luckily we got to see snow the next morning.....

    5
    « Nice experience »

Fast service, clean room, great view and all the extras that make a good night's stay. I was surprised that none of the trash cans had liners in them and the pillows were just a little thin for my likes, but that's about it. The view of the Columbia River out our window and the balcony on the top floor were really nice. Great place to stay!

    « Dog friendly! »

True river view with a lovely river trail just beyond our sliding glass door. Complimentary and delicious REAL breakfast. (Spinach fritata, fresh jam for the toast, and I love the unique veggie-and-quinoa bowl!) All this, and a nice treat packet for our dog. This is one of our favorite get-away spots.

    5
« Don't Pass By This Remodeled "Chateau"! »

Well, maybe "chateau " is misleading. It is Northwest Modern, recently updated. Staff is very accommodating. room was spacious and the bed, oh, so comfy. We chose a riverside room and it was so picturesque. It's Columbia Gorge sunset was magnificent. And the pool was a delight. Warm and inviting, unlike other frigid motels in May. Combined with a sauna and jetted spa, this is a place that rivals Skamania Lodge. The only word of caution is that the freeway is right next door. But we barely noticed the road noise in our riverside room.

    5
« Great hotel, restaurant, and bar »

Room was gorgeous with balcony overlooking Columbia River. Free breakfast included each day from a list of about 12 different made-to-order options. Dinner at night of the salmon special was delicious. Our first night it was prepared so well (the dish I ordered), that my husband ordered it the 2nd night but the preparation was different that night. The waiter said the chef could make it the same as the previous night if desired! Yes!! It was great again. I had lamb chops the 2nd night and they were also outstanding. Excellent bar, and the House Old Fashioned is great. Perfect location, comfortable and beautiful room, easy access to Mt. Hood drive and to several wineries in the area, plus a bridge to Washington. Highly recommended.

    5
    « Wonderful hotel »

Riverview rooms are beautiful and very quiet. the complimentary breakfast is very generous and delicious-many choices of gourmet food. also had a great dinner in the dining room with patio river view sedating. Restaurant service was excellent.

    « Easy comfy stop »

This place is quiet, good setting on the water. The breakfast is included. Despite being next to elevator we heard nothing. Rooms tight. Friendly staff. Located a little bit away from town, but a nice walk on the path

« Dog review for Best Western in Hood River. »

Clean, large room on the first floor facing the river with patio access to the walking path and the grass in front of hotel. You can walk to downtown Hood River on the walking path about a mile distance or drive in 2 minutes. Best western has an excellent restaurant with free breakfast with stay and 50% of second entree if you eat dinner there. Hint - If booking a room in advance with a dog ask for a room on the first floor facing the river. Dogs loved and we loved the stay.

    5
    « Hood River »

Nice stay right on the river. A little far from downtown Hood River but location on right on the river is a bonus. Rooms were up to date and clean. Overall a great experience I would recommend this location for future stays.

    5
« Loved the river view from the room »

Our room was in the East building which seemed older but I liked the East building better for the view of the river. The West building seemed to be at a slant. Not all rooms have balconies. It was chilly so I think having a big picture window worked better. The room was big and nice enough. It was great having a sink for each of us. I was more interested in the view though, which did not disappoint. Breakfast on the restaurant terrace was great and was the best one of our trip.

    5
    « Hotel accomodations »

    « Great overnight getaway! »

After reading reviews on TripAdvisor and other websites, we selected the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn for an overnight getaway. The check in process was seamless and quick even though there were many checking in at the same time. Desk clerk was very pleasant and welcoming. Our room was on the 3rd floor of the east wing overlooking the river. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the room had been recently updated with new furnishings. So enjoyed the balcony overlooking the river, bathroom was huge with an abundance of thick white towels and the shower was stunning. King bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. So very nice to have an excellent restaurant on the property, and the dinner and breakfast was excellent. When staying at this property, discounts are offered for the evening meal and vouchers for "free breakfast" cooked to order are given at check in. Very satisfied with absolutely no complaints. We will definitely return and tell our friends.

« Great stay in beautiful setting »

Stayed two nights during a road trip of the Hood River area. Beautiful scenery and lots of great waterfalls and hiking trails in this area, not to mention the terrific craft beers and wineries. Separate reviews for those venues. Stayed in a room on the third floor with a balcony and terrific views. Beds were comfortable and pillows were great. However, the room could use some updating and/or renovations. The wooden balcony needs to be refinished. Some of the furniture was quite nicked up. And as previously mentioned, the restaurant booth seats are peeling and need to be redone. The room rate includes a terrific breakfast, tasty and served by a very efficient wait staff. This makes the price of the room a better value since it includes the breakfast and free parking. Also ate in the lounge area, see separate review for that. All in all, a great and relaxing visit to this property, would definitely stay again.

    « Gorgeous and delicious »

What a great place to stay in Hood River! The views are wonderful and the food from the restaurant is excellent. The wait staff and other hotel staff are pleasant and courteous and professional. I love staying right on the Columbia and the walking trail on the riverside of the hotel is a nice way to get to town without driving. Many pet-friendly rooms as well.

« Perfect for Columbia Gorge »

This is perfect base for exploration of the Columbia River Gorge. It is equadistant from The Dalles upriver and Cascade Locks downriver. The BW has spacious rooms with great river views. The restaurant has river view also, and offers excellent included breakfast choices. The waiters and waitresses are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The dinner choices are great, and there are lots of other good restaurants in Hood River also. We came to explore the Lewis and Clark sights in the Gorge, and discovered awesome wineries, breweries, and scenery along the way. A day after leaving I received an email about an item left in my room; they offered to mail it to me. On top of all this, the rates are good value. This is as good as it gets!

« Great location, great hotel, but pricy and noisy »

We stayed 2 nights and it's a great hotel, the only things we would say are that bar and food prices were rather expensive, and, as I lie here typing this, the noise from the nearby railroad and the I84 are very noticeable. It's a spectacular location, the room was superb with excellent shower room, staff are brilliant. Shame we didn't get a river view.

    5
    « Love this place »

While the rooms and hallways are a little dated, the food, service, views, and location more than make up for it. You'll get breakfast coupons when you check in for free breakfast each morning and one bogo half off coupon for the restaurant. Def eat there for supper at least once. Delicious! This hotel is in a great location to Hood River, Mt. Hood, Cascade Locks etc. The first floor has a walkout patio for each room, and the third floor has a balcony. The second floor rooms only have a large window. There are two hot tubs and a nice pool. I'd def. stay here again.

    5
« An excellent choice for the Columbia River Gorge »

I stayed at this hotel as part of a small group studying the formation of the Columbia River gorge, part of which was visible right outside my room's window. Since it was a group stay, we were offered plated breakfast and dinner selections. Both were quite good, especially the dinners which were much above the quality that one usually gets with a group. Despite the fact that I was part of the group, I had to make my own reservations at the hotel, and thus I paid somewhat more than the others, using the AAA rate. So I can note that the hotel is somewhat pricey-but worth it for the amenities and location.

« Great bang for your buck! »

My husband and I, along with our 2 college aged sons, enjoyed a great stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. We appreciated having 2 queen beds and an additional sink/vanity area outside the bathroom. The included breakfast was wonderful, and the guys enjoyed watching the NBA playoffs in the bar. The waterfront location was beautiful and convenient to many area attractions.

    « BEST western ever »

I was on a business trip and had a morning meeting in Hood River. We were going to stay closer to Portland but decided to take a chance that there was a nice hotel in Hood River. Checked into the Best western and was amazed this was a Best Western. Very nice location right on the river bank. Our room looked out over the river and after dinner we went for a swim in the outdoor pool which also is right along the river. They have a fancy restaurant connected to the hotel and the included breakfast is right off the restaurant menu. Two eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast, not your average free hotel breakfast. The room rate was not much more then most of the other BW's we stayed at on the trip and not the most expensive one either (Salem). We are looking forward to a return trip.

    « Excellent stay »

This hotel was great to stay in after climbing mount hood. The staff was very friendly and you can't beat the view. The restaurant food is ok, but the Cebu bar is very nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area, it's very convenient to downtown wine tasting, breweries and little shops.

    « Hood River Inn »

Our stay at The BW Plus Hood River Inn was a last minute idea. In fact, I think we got the last room available that weekend. It's a great location (right on the river) and has all the amenities we look for when staying at a hotel. Free Breakfast, free wifi, free parking and a pool. There is also a MiniMart, McD's, 2 gas stations and a Starbucks all just a short walk away. My only issue with the place had to do with mis-information or no information given regrading the restaurant and food service. It turns out that the on-property restaurant "The Riverside" is one of the most popular restaurants in all of Hood River and we were there on a Saturday night & Sunday morning. There wasn't any warning given by the staff that we should make plans to be early because of the wait. Otherwise, it was an adequate room and the pool was warm and open until 11pm.

    « Hood River »

Nice hotel. The rooms are a bit dated but clean and well maintained. The south side (no view) of the hotel is a bit noisy (road noise). The food is fabulous. The service for breakfast/dinner varied. Some days we had excellent service and on some days we had to go find the waiter. But the food was EXCELLENT. Don't check in during busy periods as it can take some time. It is a good location, however, next to the river!

« Best place to stay »

This Best Western is in a really good location, right on the river with a beautiful view. Our room had large windows which made it seem like a living room. Service is good, parking is free and easy. We would definitely stay here again. Vouchers for breakfast were given at check in along with a voucher for half off a second entree. Breakfast is off the restaurant menu, and it seemed to include most of their menu. Very good service at breakfast.

« Great Place to Stay in Hood River »

Great location, on the Columbia River, with river views, walking path nearby, and an excellent restaurant incorporated into the hotel. One of our favorite get-away's for several years and it just seems to keep getting better. The food in the restaurant is worth the trip; and when you add in the value of being in the Columbia Gorge with all the recreation and amenities available, it is just a great place to stay!

« Beautiful property ask for room facing the water! »

What a pretty property! Made a mistake not asking for a room on the water. The shower head was huge and updated very nice. We had dinner at the restaurant at the hotel. If the weather is nice, be sure and sit outside! Views, food and waiter Eric, all excellent! Had the Kale Cesar salad and shrimp and sausage pasta all great!! Would definately stay and eat here again!

This hotel offers wonderful accomodations for families and couples alike. We are always impressed with their upgrades and design changes. The restaurant is great as well and the hotel offers discounts for dinner as well as a complimentary breakfast with your stay. We have stayed here several times and plan on returning annually.

« On the Coumbia River bur with many distractions »

This hotel offers average size Best Western décor rooms some overlooking the Columbia River. The restaurant features Italian & American menu items inside or on the deck overlooking the River. Food was good to average fare. Nice View! This hotel is very popular so book in advance but what I didn't get is why because this is a very Noisy Location. Sitting on your balcony overlooking the River there is a cacophony of sounds from the nearby bridge with resonating metal grating crossing to the Washington shore. The there is Highway 84 & trains behind the hotel. So, I was happy to depart as I could not sleep with the slider door open to enjoy the fresh breezes from the River

We very much liked our room and the view. We had our grandsons with us, so things were really good. They loved it as well! The restaurant staff was very professional and expressed that they appreciated our little boys good manners.

« Good Accommodation for the Price »

Our room faced the Columbia River so we had great views of the river traffic. Normal hotel/motel room with good housekeeping and parking right outside. Hearty breakfasts in the dining room overlooking the river. Outside seating if you want it. Ten minute walk from the town center which is very nice. Lots of hikes near by, which was the purpose of our trip. Average food quality with huge portions and affordable options. Probably the best place to stay in the area. Ten minute walk into town center which has a number of dining options and smart shops.

The view was wonderful, the room was nice, but the staff is very poorly trained...first,we found not only strands, but bunches of hair in the sink and the bathtub. When we reported this to the front desk, we received a sorry, but no other response. Next, our air conditioning unit was set at 65 degrees and was running all night, when it was 61 degrees outside and our room still got hot. When I asked for maintenance to report the problem, thefront desk said they could not transfer me to maintenance, but she would report it to them. It was apparent to me that she didn't have a clue what I was talking about and nothing was ever done to remedy the problem. Next item, we went to breakfast. We sat in the lounge to wait for a table and we were greeted by a wonderful personality there. We were approached by a young hostess and asked if we would like to dine in the lounge. We said that would be fine if we could have the particular waitress. We were told that for sure we could, and immediately were assigned to someone else who was not nearly as amicable as the one requested. Finally, after a long day of touring, we returned to our room and our key had been cancelled. After walking the full length of the hotel to the front desk, no apology was given, I w.as simply told that I should have been notified that I needed to recheck my key for my second nights stay. IN SHORT, A BEAUTIFUL FACILITY WITH A VERY POORLY TRAINED STAFF. I will not be back.

    « Perfect for a stay »

Great place for families. We are repeat visitors and we plan on returning next year. We stayed in the East Wing this time, with a river view. Excellent!!! Rooms are upgraded and look great. The beds are comfy. The bathroom clean. We don't intend on looking at another place unless there is no vacancy. Speaking of which, book early because this place fills up as it is the best place in town. The breakfast is unbeatable as well.

« Pleasant Stay in Hoodriver »

On checking in, I was disappointed that our rooms overlooked the parking lot, fearing it would be noisy. However, the whole stay was very, very quiet. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and the restaurant has a great view of the river.

    « Awesome Place! »

We were pleasantly surprised at how great the Best Western Hood River Inn was. We had a King room with a fireplace and balcony. It looked out over the Columbia river and Hood River bridge. It was very clean and nice. While the traffic was a bit noisy going over the bridge, it was still very pleasant sitting on the balcony. We could not hear it at all inside the room. Easy walk to town to restaurants, breweries & wineries. Breakfast in the restaurant at the Hotel was wonderful. We sat outside on the patio, it was a beautiful day and throughly enjoyed it. Great place to get away!

« Ideal Spot on the Columbia River »

This is one of the best hotels in the Area and it's by far best Best Western in which I've stayed. I didn't want to leave. I arrived last night, the restaurant/bar stays open late, my room had a view of river. My dog enjoyed all the trails and the beaches. I has the chance to work out in the gym and swim laps in the pool. Great breakfast that was included. The room was clean, quiet and well equipped. Everyone from Check in, to restaurant staff and house keeping was super friendly. If you're traveling with a pet, my only suggestion would be to notify the hotel in advance as some of the rooms aren't pet friendly. Luckily they had a pet friendly room available when I checked in.

« best western hood river inn »

Stayed on Executive floor just for the quiet. View of River was great and room was perfect. Little disappointed that the pool/hot tub were outside. Pacific Northwest is a good place to have an indoor pool. Staff was fabulous and helpful. Restaurant very good; nice assortment of choices. Breakfast on the deck is not to be missed.

« Nice Big Best Western by the river - trains, ancient bridge, and river traffic. »

The view side with the river is nice. Bottom floor walks out to a patio and a public path on the river. Above, balconies. The restaurant was better than I expected -- quite good and I am sort of a food snob. Rooms are pretty ordinary and the bed could be better, given the price. That is, it isn't a "heavenly bed" --not that it was wrong.

« Great Comfort and Staff »

Since I travel several times a year to visit family in another state, I sometimes break the trip up and only drive halfway. The Hood River Inn Best Western is the perfect place to pull in for the night. The staff is always very friendly and helpful and the comfort of the beds is wonderful! Very nice rooms and beautiful view (get a river view room!) Breakfast is included with your stay and eating on the terrace overlooking the river the next morning is a big BONUS!

« Good for business trip »

This was a good business hotel. Upside: The staff is helpful, it's a nice looking hotel, reasonable amenities, beds are comfortable, fairly quiet, decent rate. Nice restaurant and lounge onsite. Downside: The pool and hot tub are only at one end of the hotel (which was the completely opposite end to me) and the hotel is widely spread out. So if your room isn't on that end it might not be worth it to use. Also, they don't have guest rooms with jetted tubs or hot tubs.

« Very nice hotel, great view »

We only had one night in Hood River and should have planned for two. Lovely room with comfortable bed and linens. We had an executive room and it had robe and slippers. Also a really nice bathroom with a great shower. My kids had a economy room that allowed a dog and their room was also nice but had a normal bathtub/shower. The dog rooms were on the first floor with a little patio which made it easy for taking the dog out. Many nice amenities. Breakfast was included and was served in the restaurant where you choose from a nice variety of items. You can also order other items and bloody Mary's/mimosa. The only problem the day we were there was it was Mother's Day and we had to wait 20 mins to sit and at least an hour to eat. The food was really good though. Any other day probably would not have been a problem. Ate out on the deck which was beautiful. Would definitely stay there again.

« Excellent Experience! Definitely book here =) »

I would highly recommend booking at Best Western Plus if you are visiting Hood River. The service we received during our stay was spot on.The staff was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. Additionally, the hotel is located right along th the river. We ended up reserving a room on the 3rd floor facing the river-it was totally worth the extra money. Our view was gorgeous and added so much to our experience. Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had!

« Very comfortable and clean »

I would rate this location as one of the top Best Western properties I have ever stayed at. Very clean, comfortable, the staff was amazing and it is a full service property. We just happened to be there on a Tuesday night which is $12.99 prime rib night in the lounge area and much to our surprise our meal was very good. They were very busy however and service was a little slow.

    « Great River View »

I've visited this hotel several times though this is the first time for pleasure. I found the river view room to be vert satisfying. The updated room was clean and comfortable. Pool was nice. Food in the restaurant was great. Dessert menu was limited. We did have problems getting a table for dinner. We were told when we approached the restaurant that it would be a 20 minute wait. They took our phone number. Finally after 30 minutes without receiving a call, we checked back. They said they had several open seats and were glad we checked back. We were a bit confused as to why they didn't offer us a seat outside or call when the tables opened up. No apologies ... Other than that our visit was great though for the size of the room it was a bit pricey. Breakfast is great as you have a decent menu to select from. We stay at several BW Plus and this is one of the best breakfast options we've found.

« Great room and location but the service at the restaurant left a lot to be desired »

The location and the suite was great. Right on the river with a little patio area. Quiet room and the price was decent for the room itself. Usually stay at Hilton's but wasn't an option in Hood River. The only negative my wife and I experienced was the "free" breakfast that was a part of the booking of the room. It was 9 am on a Sunday morning and there were 4 couples ahead of us on the waiting list and they said it would be a 25 minute wait. We asked if we could instead sit in the lounge area and the two ladies told us we couldn't because they only had one server. We brought our stuff out of the room and we decided to check the progress of the waiting list. The same four couples were still waiting and it was 20 minutes later. Why even open the restaurant and offer breakfast if you don't have enough staff to take care of your guests?

Excellent hotel in every way! Very reasonable price and beautiful rooms with views of the gorge. Worth coming to this hotel just for the experience of the lovely rooms, fitness/spa center and excellent restaurant lounge. Hood River is a destination on my trips for fun list from now on. The hotel staff are excellent and the house keepers are exceptional in their dedication to keeping the whole place looking like it's brand new. It was easy to leave a tip for excellent service through out my stay.

Excellent hotel. Our room overlooked the river. Very beautiful. Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful.Although we didn't have time to use the gym we checked it out and was impressed. The restaurant was clean and the food was excellent. We had a $30 breakfast and the waitress marked it down to 0 since we were guests at the hotel. Wonderful stay would definitely recommend this hotel.

« A wonderful stay at the shore of the Columbia River »

My partner and I stayed for a weekend in April at the Hood River Inn. The hotel is very well kept, the hallways and rooms are spotless and modern, the beds were fantastic. We had a balcony overlooking the Columbia River with a great view. The balconies need to be refurbished and they are also missing furniture, like chairs and table to comfortable sit out. I was advised that the furniture is on order. Our room was close to the bridge from Hood River over to Washington State, so there was a little noise from that, but definitely acceptable. The free breakfast in the dining room was excellent, served by very friendly staff. Also the front desk personnel was extremely friendly and helpful. When we asked for chairs for our balcony, they came within 30 minutes and brought us chairs. We are looking forward to our next trip to Hood River and would definitely stay at the Hood River Inn again. It was a wonderful experience!

« Great Hotel on the River! »

Made a last minute decision to stay in Hood River on a trip along the gorge and booked this the night before our arrival not knowing too much about the area. After we stayed one night we liked the hotel and area so much we wanted to book an extra night but unfortunately the only rooms left were almost triple the price for that next day. We stayed in a standard room with 2 queens (no view) on the 3rd floor in the west wing. The room was clean, had a sink area both outside of the bathroom and inside which was nice. There is a big fridge and microwave as well. No issues with noise either. Though we didn't have a view, it wasn't an issue as we could just walk right outside and there is a great path that runs along the river and even into the downtown area. Minus the part of the trail that runs under the freeway, it was a great walk into town and we did some wine and distillery tastings. We also took advantage of the pool area, which I believe is fairly new to the property. There is an outdoor hot tub and pool as well as a hot tub, open shower, and sauna within the small gym building that's right next to the pool. The outdoor pool is heated which was nice as we took a dip in the evening after the sun had already gone down so it was chilly out. There is a bar/restaurant on site and the bar actually has a great happy hour during the day, but unfortunately we missed it since we were in town. Someone in town ironically recommended it to us, not knowing we were staying there, when we asked for suggestions on where to eat. You also get a free sit down breakfast with your stay. This is not like most other hotels where it's a self serve of yogurt, and pancakes, etc that are sitting in heating trays. This was a true sit down order breakfast. The food was good and I really enjoyed the local marrionberry jam! I also accidentally left my hair straightener in the room after we checked out and I received an email a couple days later from the hotel -- before I even realized that I'd actually left it somewhere -- letting me know they had it and asking me if I wanted to have it shipped to me, which I appreciated a lot. Would definitely stay again!

« Great Room with a river view, pool/spa, restaurant »

Nicely updated spacious room with a sliding door to the Columbia river. Fascinating yo watch the boats and barges. Room and bathroom were very comfortable and clean. There is a grassy lawn outside the sliding door next to a walking trail to a private small beach area, the marina and recreational beaches and parks. The pool is surrounded by clear windbreak glass wall so kept it calm. Heated pool with a large spa and many places to sit. The breakfast is large and delicious. People were very welcoming. The city of Hood River is really a beautiful get away. Lots of walking, history, restaurants and breweries. I could have stayed here even longer. The price was right for this hotel!

Great Spot. River Views, Restaurant is really good - best veggie burger ever. Dog friendly. I stay here as often as I can. Breakfast is included and if you need a sack lunch (we were off on a fishing trip early) they can make that too. Rooms are quiet and there's a great walking path along the river.

    « Disappointed »

Beautiful setting, very average hotel. The HVAC did not work at all in the first room after check-in. Also, the layout of the that room was funky, and it appeared it had seen no guests for some time. We moved to another room, that had a better appearance, but even though the HVAC was somewhat better, it was still below average. The linens and the pillows were abysmal. Cheap, thin, rough, lumpy. Will not stay here again. Too many options that are better. Staff was very good, however.

« Nice Stay in Hood River »

My wife, an Oregon native, suggested this hotel as a stayover on a fishing trip I was taking through Oregon. My father and I got a riverview room and were very satisfied with our room and our view. Our one night stay included free breakfast. Mind you, this is not your typical continental breakfast of fruit and stale pastries served at most hotels. Rather, we enjoyed a full breakfast of eggs, potatoes and breakfast meats. It was easily the best breakfast I'd had in some time. The only disappointing aspect was dinner. We chose to sit in the restaurant instead of the busy lounge. I had noticed Tuesdays were prime rib specials and I was looking forward to a nice prime rib dinner. The special was limited to the lounge only. All in all, a very good stay in a beautiful locale. Good value for the cost.

« One of our favorites »

When you need a short get-a-way, this is the answer. A quality hotel, with great service, rooms, restaurant. As this hotel is on the banks of the Columbia River, we always request a river room. When the wind is blowing you are entertained with wind surfers. When they say breakfast included, this means you may order off of the menu. You are seated at a river view table and served. A quality hotel and one of our favorites.

Overall the experience and hospitality of staff was excellent. The room was as asked for on the first floor due to knee problems for husband and wife,. Room was clean and comfortable; the restaurant food was excellent and the staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful. I had a problem with check in possibly due to reservation was made through B.W. International and not directly through the desk. House keeping staff were asked to use water conservation measures and failed to do so.

« Great Location Near Historic US Route 30 »

I do not have a lot of experience with "Best Western" and am not sure what qualifies a hotel as a "Best Western Plus." That being said, we enjoyed our one night stay at the Hood River Inn. Clean room with a view, very friendly and helpful (with directions and such) staff and a truly GREAT breakfast included with our room.. Let me cover the breakfast first, as it was very, very good. The "free with your room" portion of the menu was much better than one would expect. More than adequate! The corned beef hash, genuinely "homemade" was memorable. My traveling companion (who happened to be my elderly mother on her birthday trip) had french toast and she commented it was the best she had ever eaten. Our waitress (or am I incorrect by not calling her a server?) was "Tracy." Efficient, friendly and attentive in a genuine "not bothersome." Energetic and on top of her game. She added to the pleasure of our delicious breakfast. At Now for the hotel: Divided among at least 4 (5 counting a "conference center") we were in the west building, room 321. Facing the historic toll bridge, it was a clean room and has obviously been updated in the not so distant past. Two sinks (one and one outside the bathroom), tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable beds (they were actually hauling off "old" mattresses the day we checked in). Clearly not a "new" hotel, but very nice, well maintained and I (a stickler) would stay there, will stay there, again without hesitation. The staff was wonderful (including the cleaning staff) and never failed to make one feel welcome. Clean room, pleasant surroundings and a nice bed. This was my first trip to Oregon and the Hood River Inn was more than satisfactory. Hood River (a windy place) is a nice town and I appreciate their hospitality. Near Mt. Hood, on the River, near Multnomah Flls and US 30. And, look for the El Cuate "burger and taco" food truck! Awesome!

« A Very Nice Hotel with a Fabulous View »

Registration was easy. The room we had was on the 3rd floor and there was an elevator as well as cart to carry the luggage. The room was very clean and good smelling and was well appointed. There was a balcony with chairs and a table and a fabulous view of the Columbia River. The sunset was spectacular that night. The next morning there were Crews rowing Shells in the river and there was a sternwheeler going under the bridge as well as ducks swimming on the river. The hotel gave us a discount coupon for the restaurant for the evening and a coupon for breakfast the next morning. We did use the breakfast coupon and the meal and service was excellent.

    « Upgraded room decor »

This hotel has always been a favorite of mine due to amenities, the view, restaurant/bar and near downtown activities. But recently the hotel remodeled many rooms and it was a welcomed surprise. If you liked this hotel before, you'll like the rooms even more now. Great improvements.

« Great view, nice facilities »

It's been a few years since the last time I stayed at this hotel for a conference. I was pleasantly surprised on my recent stay for another work event. It appears to have been recently updated. The rooms are nicely done and the bathroom was really clean. Even though it is close to the highway it was quiet. The grounds were well maintained. It has a nice outdoor pool and spa. In addition they have a nice selection of workout equipment. There is also a sauna and spa. Off the east end of hotel there is a small beach area to access the river. There were SUP boards and kayaks for rent. There is a nice walking path that runs along the river and takes you into Hood River if you don't want to drive. If your trip is for business not pleasure you'll find the conference rooms to be nice with access to technology.

    « Birthday trip »

I picked this location because I wanted great views on my birthday. The pool and hot tub location is hard to beat with a great view of the Columbia River. There is a great walking path. The food was pretty good, I ordered a signature drink and it was a bit strong for my taste. They did offer me another drink at no cost but I did not take them up on that. For the price we had great views, good food, and starbucks was near by for a morning coffee.

This hotel is what all the little hotels want to be when they grow up. I LOVE the Gorge and we got a suite right on the river. The breakfast beat anything I'd ever experienced at a hotel. The bar is pleasant and had very good "bar food". I now live in Oregon and will stay here as I get to know my new home.

« Nice Facility and Location »

This place is very large and within EZ walk to Starbux, McDonalds, and a few other businesses. A restaurant is adjacent where a free breakfast is provided to hotel guests. The service (waitress Maria) was excellent and food was very good at breakfast. We had a nice, clean room with a small balcony and river view. There were no chairs on the balcony however which was disappointing to us as we wanted to sit out there and relax and enjoy the view but couldn't. The room configuration was a bit crowded as we ran into corners of the bed sticking out as well as corners sticking out by microwave, fridge area. There is no bathtub in bathroom, which disappointed my wife. Only a shower with clear glass doors. The shower was large and nice, clean, but the clear doors not a good fit for families with teens if one had to use the toilet or even just the sink and mirror while one was showering. The pool, hot tub, and fitness room , and sauna area was fabulous and had a river view also. All was sparkling clean and very well maintained.

« Just the breakfast alone was worth it! »

Stayed here to tour the Columbia River Gorge area. Loved the look and feel of the hotel. It was big, but yet had a cabin feel to it. Great location right on the river with a walking/jogging path behind it. Lobby and common areas were nice and our rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a wonderful surprise. We expected the run of the mill continental type, instead we ordered off of their menu (selected items that is included in your room). It was great and we left very satisfied and ready for adventure!

This is an older motel that has been completely and very competently updated. The rooms were outstanding for the price. The staff were outstanding. The food in the restaurant was good, not great but certainly better than most of its peer price class hotel restaurants. The hotel sits on the river, with excellent views and quick access to the 1-1/2 mile Riverwalk.

« Lost my reservation but charged me anyway.... »

Made a reservation five days in advance but on the day of my arrival they could not find my reservation - I spoke with the manager who couldn't help me as I couldn't produce my confirmation number. They even looked it up with my CC and couldn't find anything. The following day the hotel charged my CC for not showing up to my reservation that THEY COULDN'T find. Waiting for my CC to be refunded - wouldn't say the manager I spoke with was overally apologetic. Definitely wasn't impressed with their customer service...the whole experience definitely tainted my trip to beautiful Hood River.

« Riverside Dining Room needs more Healthy Salads »

I visit the Riverside Dining Room at the Hood River Inn roughly 4 times per month annually, and the setting, service, and food overall is excellent. I choose this inn, because they have many gluten and dairy free options, and the quality of the food is high- plus they use some local products such as fermented sauerkraut from Oregon Brineworks. Recently the menu has changed and at least one of the big salads has been dropped. The menu is very heavy with delicious fattening meat based sandwiches such as pulled pork, Reuben, Bacon Cheeseburger but few offerings for big salads. Currently a diner can order a beet salad or mixed greens salad which chicken breast may be added. As summer sets in a chicken cobb, asian chicken, southwest chicken, steak salad, and even a seafood salad would be a good idea to add to the menu so that the many health conscious locals and travelers can choose the Riverside Inn as a healthy dining destination. Having made these comments, I'll add the Reuben is absolutely fantastic (the inn makes the corn beef, homemade Thousand Island dressing, and fermented kraut), and the Bacon Cheeseburger is made of beef made to order. These are two truly high quality sandwiches, but too heavy to eat every time I visit. They are treats for me but not staples. Please bring back a variety of big , healthy salads .

The bed in 379 was like sleeping on a cloud. Staff members here are very helpful and friendly. we had to stay in two different rooms. When it was time to move the staff saw i had a baby with me so they moved everything for me. they also gave us a crib to use at no extra charge.every room on the riverside has a beautiful view. Our first night we stayed in room 379, it was spacious and had a skylight letting in so much natural light, I really missed it when we moved to one without. the other night we stayed on the main floor right beside the conference room and elevator. it was considerably louder but having a baby it wasn't like we weren't loud to. it is easy to walk into town and sample all the best Hood River has to offer. Next time we go back i will ask for the east wing third floor as it is further away from the bridge. The fitness room is big with all newer equipment overlooking the pool and the river. I hope this review is helpful, I would definitely recommend staying here.

Great location and wonderful facility making our stay enjoyable and memorable. The surrounding area of the townsite is very enoyable with numerous opportunities to shop and dine. We will be back, for sure. Great value for the dollar.

Amazing view! And the breakfast here was also very good with a wonderful waitstaff. Just the ant issue needs to get resolved, I killed over 15 just overnight. They have a great pool/hot tub area that has glass panels to see the river. We were in the hot tub at night and the view was cool. Would come back again because the beds are so comfy!

Our stay was the most excellent stay, we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We will always pick a Best Western Plus for our future trips. The pool and hot tub were well taken care of and very enjoyable. The food was excellent and the employees were very considerate and helpful.

    « Very nice. Wonderful Breakfast !!! »

My family stayed here and it was wonderful. Very beautiful location on the river and clean and welcoming rooms. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best. The only complaint was that we were on the end of the building near the bridge and it was very very loud at night. We woke up a lot due to the noise. Overall I'd recommend the hotel just a different room.

Best Western Hood River is in a great location that is convenient to downtown with a convenient walk path. Recommend the hotel's Happy Hour in the lounge. Better value then the restaurant with friendly staff.

Great Hotel, great location, and the best complimentary breakfast there is. Trust me on that. You will not find a better breakfast anywhere. Also the staff is unbelievable from top to bottom. They truly do treat you like royalty.

    « Ants and a Noisy Refrigerator »

I booked this room online for one night and all they had was a suite. I paid around $179.00 for this suite. It was a handicap room which is find although didn't need. But the bathroom was covered in ants - and there was an obvious hole in the floor where they were getting in that should have been seen by housekeeping previously - and yet they were allowed to stay. The refrigerator also made a loud dripping noise and we had to unplug it to sleep. Overall a way too expensive room for what we got - as the view was also the freeway. The best part of the hotel was the restaurant, which was very nice.

The rooms are nice and clean and the restaurant is outstanding. Service is friendly and efficient. There is easy access to the freeway and to Hood River. The view of the river and the hills is wonderful. If you are planning a trip to the river or the mountain this is the place to stay.

    « Top Notch »

My wife and I stayed over night in one of the suites over looking the river. Room was very up to date and trendy, with a balcony. Bathroom was huge, nice big shower. Heated pool and hot tub outside next to the river, pool was nice and warm, with about 15 people swimming in the rain, good times. Very close to downtown Hood River, within 5 minutes of driving. Stopped in the lounge for a few drinks and to take food back to the room (food was great), and they had a live band playing. Nice atmosphere, great staff. The bartender, Eric was spot on. We will definitely be back!

    « Great with pet »

We had an unplanned stop en route home from Olympia, Wa to Boise, ID. We were traveling with our small dog so that restricted our options. Fortunately, in searching online, we stumbled on to this excellent hotel. Great location with easy access from I-84 but with its riverside location it's super quiet and really nice for walking the dog and ourselves! Staff was great, restaurant was good, the room was super clean & comfortable. We left thinking it would be a good place to come for a longer stay!

« Great Place in Hood River »

This is our favorite place to stay in Hood River and come here almost annually in the spring. If you catch the weather just right you can ski in the morning and play golf in the afternoon. The rooms with a view of the river are ample and comfortable. The restaurant is one of the best in town and a full breakfast is included with the room. The pool is heated and the hot tub feels great after a day of being outdoors. The hotel is pet and kid friendly, which can be good or bad depending on your perspective. We will continue to visit here and stay again in the future.

My husband and I have stayed here twice. The staff is very accommodating, the rooms with a river view are my favorite. The Italian restaurant there is very elegant, has a delicious menu and a never ending wine list. A nice surprise after a long day of traveling.

    « Wonderful hotel »

From check in to check out every staff member went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. We were given a beautiful room overlooking the river and were able to stand on the balcony and watch the birds and boats on the river. We were surprised to receive a voucher for half price on one of our entrees- the restaurant was amazing for a hotel that appears to be in a small town. The scenery is breathtaking.

Since I signed up for the best western rewards club our room was upgraded to one with a view! It was a very comfortable bed. Everyone was super nice. The soap was great too. I usually bring my own homemade soap but forgot it this time, I was pleasantly surprised.

    « Great stay »

This was my first stay at the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn and it was a great stay despite the rain. The staff was great and the river view room was exceptional. As a travel agent I will highly recommend this property for clients wishing to stay in Hood River. Breakfast was included with our room and it was excellent.

    « Lovely River Views »

This is a great place to stay for business or pleasure. I've never had issues with internet when coming here for work. Some of the rooms have the bed facing the river which is really cool but the room arrangement leaves the TV in an awkward position if you like laying in bed and just watching. The pool here is awesome anytime of year. I especially like coming here in the wintertime as the outdoor pool is perfect and overlooks the river. The hot tub and the fitness center are both very nice as well.

    « Local Gem »

The Hood River Inn is a local gem. Clean and comfortable with friendly staff and a world-class view, we live in the Gorge and still stay here now and then for special occasions or when we need a break from winter weather. The pool and hot tub are wonderful and the hotel restaurant, Riverside Grill, is another one of our favorite spots in a town full of great eats.

    « Loved it! »

My goal was to spend the weekend at a nice hotel in a beautiful place, go for a couple of runs, eat some good food, relax in a hot tub... and this place fit that order almost perfectly. Hotel is for the most part, beautiful. Room was great, absolutely no complaints and in fact looked like it was in a much higher-end hotel (especially the bathroom). A big bummer was the surprisingly large amount of trash was always on the hallway floors, as if guests were just dropping crap constantly. Two hot tubs (one inside, one outside) were a nice touch, especially when some of us adults preferred to be away from the kids. Kids playing and having fun is great, but sometimes adults want time away from that. Hotel breakfast is in the restaurant, and is not buffet. The breakfast I ordered my first morning (frittata) was OUTSTANDING. Note that you may have to wait to be seated - I had to wait 20 minutes. Restaurant staff were excellent the 3 times I went there. Complaints? Only a few. The trash I mentioned was frustrating at an otherwise great property. TV in room is huge, and actually too big for the space, dominating the room. Fitness center equipment is wobbly. The restaurant is beautiful with nice food, the type of place a couple might want to enjoy a nice romantic meal at, but the connected lounge has an aggressively loud party scene that makes an evening meal in the restaurant less attractive. If you want to be right in the middle of Hood River itself you are out of luck, but it's just a 2 minute drive or a short walk away. Overall, I really liked this place, and definitely plan to return.

« Probably one of the BEST, BEST WESTERNS. »

Now, I haven't stayed at a best western for a long time (8yrs), but this by far was a very good hotel choice! Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, room service and restaurant were great. My only complaints were: Minor maintenance issues that were not affecting my stay: The TV remote mute button was non functional, and one of the outlets by the bed was not working. Room Service: Missed an item on my 1st order there. Meals: So, I had a bowl of clam chowder and something called "The Mexican". While the latter was spot on goodness, the clam chowder however has much to be desired. Now for breakfast I would say it was sub-satisfactory, but not spectacular. I had the buttermilk pancakes with Vermont grade b maple syrup... so not like what I am used to.. Pancakes were thick and heavy not light and fluffy, syrup was thin, runny and light not thick and dark. Plus they slightly burned the pancakes which added to the off flavor. But, all of these negative things did not dampen my experience and will most definitely be back bc when I discussed these issues the staff was very able and willing to fix the issues. Last thing, NO USB Ports anywhere bring your chargers!

I work out of the area and must travel and stay out of town at least one night a week. This was an excellent place to stay, the price was right, they gave me a corporate rate, the room was very clean and the bed was excellent. With the night's stay I also received a breakfast voucher for a complementary breakfast. It was not one of the "Continental" breakfast one so many times get at a motel. It was an order from the menu breakfast served hot at you table.

LIKES: Friendly staff at front desk Clean property Easy (free) parking Well-lit halls Large room, with 2 queen beds, refrigerator and microwave Modern updates to bathroom (sinks, counters, faucets, shower) Bathroom with TWO sink vanities (one inside shower/toilet area, and one outside) Lots of vanity space Good room and bathroom lighting Power outlets (for phone) next to bed Adequate HVAC system Nice view of the river Computer desk with power Table for 2 (for eating or playing games) Comfortable beds Relatively quiet Great deal on FREE breakfast DISLIKES: Not many and relatively small: Despite many updates, some aspects of the property betray its age. (While I don't know when it was built, the doorknob on bathroom door likely dates back to the Kennedy era.) Both the balcony outside our 3rd floor room (and the balcony next door) had rotted boards which needed replacing, and would make the Oregon state building inspectors nervous. Balcony dividers seem to be placed between every 2 rooms, limiting privacy (someone brave enough to stand on your neighbor's balcony could see all the way into your room). While placed at a good height, the TV was a bit small for this sized room. If your room faces the river, there is some bridge traffic noise (but mostly during the day and early evening) SUMMARY: Despite a few small details, this is a great place to stay in the Hood River area. Would definitely return.

« Can't go wrong with this location »

This Best Western is located on the Columbia River. Between the view and the free breakfast, you can't go wrong. I used to live in Hood River and when I come back to visit family, I stay here. There's a nice walking path with outdoor art pieces on the river side of the hotel. We used to especially enjoy the happy hour menus at the bar. It's not just finger food but fine quality cooking.

Great atmosphere, and helful staff. The room was clean, and comfortable. Amenities were awesome, the pool and hot tub were perfect for a night swim and seeing the stars. Free breakfast was a nice perk, and their dinner menu was most excellent and very reasonable.

« In the Hood Again »

I'm only disappointed when I don't reserve a view room when we stay here. The free breakfast definitely factors into our decision of where to stay in the gorge. We lucked out the last time we stayed there; the music in the lounge was really good both nights.

    « Free REAL Breakfast! »

A portion of the breakfast menu is free to guests. I got a delicious quinoa, lentil, & roasted veggie dish, my husband had eggs sausage toast etc., and the kids got french toast and pancakes ($8 -- not on the "free" portion). They also have coffee from a local roaster that is 10x better than the junk most hotels use (Folgers?). (No sugary yogurt, donuts/bagels, green bananas, and cold cereal with fat free on the side, woo-hoo!!) And it was all free. (Except the pancakes.) Also ,we tipped our waiter for the total value of the meal, but it was worth it. It also doesn't hurt that the pool is warm, hot tub is big, hiking/letterboxing trails (try Wachlella Falls) and sledding/skiing are very nearby, plus there's HR downtown shopping, and some of the guest rooms are gigantic!

    « A real Best Western Surprise »

Deciding at the last minute to call and reserve a room at this Inn was the best decision of our trip. Everything was "first rate" and the restaurant went way beyond what we expected from a Best Western. Will definitely plan another visit to this hotel in the future.

Best place to stay when visiting Hood River, Oregon. The Breakfast, which is included in your stay, is excellent. My daughter is gluten free, and the gluten free options were phenomenal. The coffee they serve is from a local roaster, 10 Speed Coffee, it is out of this world. The hot tub was large and toasty.

Very nice place to stay. Night manager was great. He gave us a great deal. The bed mattress was superb. We want the same kind of mattress for home! Too bad we didn't have more time to spend. Breakfast was not the normal "continental" but a sit down meal that was quite tasty and a great way to start the day.

« Nice hotel but am very dissappointed »

My wife and I have been going to Hood river off and on for a few years now. I called to make a reservation for our 31st Anniversary in May 2016 and was told that we couldn't make a reservation 4 months ahead of time because they save their weekend reservations for people who might be getting married. It kind of defeats the purpose of having a reservation system if your reserving the rooms for an unknown group of people who have yet to reserve. In my opinion, 31 years of marriage is a far bigger accomplishment than the act of getting married itself. Oh well, nice place but Best Westerns are now off my list of places to stay!

    5
    « I can't believe this is a Best Western! »

This review is overdue, but better late than never. There was not a single thing I would change about this hotel, or our stay at it. My wife and I stayed three nights for an anniversary weekend at the beginning of October. We had never traveled along the Columbia River before (shameful, since we live in the same state, I know), and we were wholly impressed with the beauty of the entire area, particularly the river, which we spent a lot of time watching from our room. The room itself was spotlessly clean, and was well-furnished with a modern feel. The bed faced out toward the river, and it was easy to find a lot of time had burned by as we watched big ships, smaller pleasure craft, and some neat birds pass by on the water. We even watched some brave souls swim across from the Washington side. Our room also had a view of the bridge which was pretty at night. Service at the hotel, and its restaurant, was top-notch. Everyone seemed genuinely interested in ensuring guests were satisfied with their experience, and we found them to be helpful. The restaurant quality was fantastic, and the included breakfast options were very tasty. The hotel pool and hot tubs (one indoor tub, and one outdoor) were warm enough to enjoy in October, and since not a lot of people were out there, we had them to ourselves. One oft-overlooked part of any hotel is parking, and there was plenty of it here. Having never been to the area before, the hotel served mostly as a home base for us from which to explore area wineries, tourist sites, and recreation areas during the day, and its location suited that task well. We also walked effortlessly to the "downtown" area of Hood River in the evenings to enjoy dining and wine tasting options. Although the walk itself wasn't difficult, there were a couple of places along the route that felt kind of sketchy at night. Although we did not encounter any unsavory folks, the potential to have lurkers (on the path under the freeway bridge, for example) was there just the same. Going back to the title of the review, having stayed at more than a few Best Western hotels, I can say this place is so much more than "Plus" when compared against the others. I was impressed with everything about the place, and I look forward to staying again in the future, perhaps even annually.

We had a nice stay at Hood River Inn. As we have two little dogs we stayed in the older section of the hotel. It was great to not have to worry if the girls barked a little! The room was clean but could have used a bit of updating! Did enjoy walking along the girls along the River. I imagine it is lovely during the spring and summer.

What a lovely family getaway at the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn! After checking in, we worked out in the clean, well-equipped fitness room. New Years Day trip to Hood River, OR. Stayed in a king room on the Executive Level with great river views. Decorated in very soothing colors and patterns. Super comfy bed with lots of pillows. Wifi worked well. Spacious bathroom, double sinks, generous sized towels and large shower. Excellent lighting for doing make-up. Robes. Brave souls were in the heated pool with temperatures around 20 degrees. We enjoyed the lounge and also had the complimentary breakfast. I now crave prime rib bacon hash and also enjoyed the local roast coffee. There is a walking trail to Hood River downtown or just a very short drive. Hood River Waterfront Park has very good restaurants and is about a mile long walk. We look forward to staying again.

    « Great location - river views »

I was very satisfied with my overnight stay at the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn. The venue felt warm and cosy and staff were friendly. The room was a good size, kept the heat well and had an amazing view - I could walk out outside to the banks of the river and had a view straight across to snow capped mountains. The restaurant is inviting and serving sizes are very large. Staff were efficient at both dinner and breakfast service. The only reason I didn't give the Inn five stars is that at times, I could hear noise from the room next door and above. It wasn't enough that I could hear what was being said or it kept me from sleeping, however, it was noticeable at times. I would definitely stay here again if travelling through Hood River.

« Great location, views of Columbia River »

We booked a suite for our family of 4 for New Year eve. It was spacious and had room for roll away bed. The room and hotel were clean and the staff was friendly. The only hitch was the next morning for breakfast, it took 2 hours to eat. An hour wait time, which they said would be 20 mins., then it took our waiter 20 mins to get our order to the kitchen which was busy with lots of take out orders. Otherwise, it was a good experience and we would stay there again.

    5
« Waking up to a snowy view was a bonus! »

This is one of the friendliest, cleanest and most comfortable hotels I have stayed at, in one of the most beautiful locations on earth. The room was spotless, the bed extremely comfortable, and every one of the staff we encountered from front desk to restaurant to lounge to maintenance was warm, professional and eager to go the extra mile to help. My friends and I enjoyed our gathering immensely and I would recommend this Best Western to anyone.

    « Pleasantly surprised »

Being new to tripadvisor I am trying to catch up on my reviews. I actually stayed here while visiting Oregon last summer. Wasn't sure what to expect having stayed at previous best westerns and not being overly impressed. Not particularly disappointed either. However I was absolutely impressed with just about everything here. There were multiple employees at the front desk ready to help the many people checking in and out. Plus. After checking out town and eating some underwhelming food we decided to give the restaurant a try as it had the highest review rating for fine dining in town. I was shocked! There were I believe 3 hostesses chipper and friendly that helped seat us. Servers other than just our own were beyond helpful and attentive to us and everyone around. And the food! The food was fantastic! I had a fregula pasta and sausage dish with heirloom tomatoes and I was just in love! The view was beautiful overlooking the river. Our room was clean and neat! Very happy with our stay!

    « Everything was right. »

I tend to more of a fan of funky off-the-beaten-path places, and I never give 5 stars. But the Hood River Inn is always just right. Immaculately clean, comfortable beds. Rooms with a tub/shower and not just a shower. The staff are accomodating and friendly. The included breakfast gives you an actual choice of actual meals in the restaurant. I had a breakfast tostada and my wife had a fritatta. They were excellent. I can't really think of anything to ding them for. I have paid much more for less. The outdoor heated pool was awesome, as were the indoor and outdoor hot tubs.

    « Christmas 2015 »

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, primarily because my husband had points from his work to get a free night. It was nice that they also are pet friendly. The room was very nice, with an awesome river view, large and with a couch and table. There was a problem with the door (didn't close very well), and although the bed wasn't awful, it wasn't the most comfortable l've had in a hotel room. Overall, it was a nice room with updated amenities. The biggest problem I had was with the staff, who didn't want to seem to go out of their way to be accommodating (bar area and check-out). Otherwise, I would have made my rating higher.

« Excellent value and GREAT view! »

We took a Christmas snow trip to Mt Hood with our family of young kids and this hotel was in the perfect location. Roughly an hour drive to the mountain, which is worth the drive for cheaper room rates. They provide high quality complimentary restaurant style breakfast as well. You also can't beat the beautiful Columbia River Gorge view. We opted for a room with a balcony facing the river. We're already planning another trip to this hotel!

« Best Mid Columbia Gorge Stopover »

Best rooms in the house are the riverside Executive rooms on the third floor. After that get a riverside room on any floor. After that a non-riverside away from the freeway. The bar does okay drinks and great appetizers that are large and not on the restaurant menu. If you are not famished you can even beat the one half off the second meal deal in the restaurant. The breakfast coupon delivers a wide choice of free meals. As I said, the best mid Columbia gorge stopover.

« Nice location and property »

I'm a little surprised at the nearly five star ratings as this is an upscale motel. It's clean and well cared for, beautifully situated on the river. The staff are nice. The walls are paper thin as we could hear our neighbors conversation at night and the house keepers in the hall in the morning. You can walk into downtown from here and we did but it's probably not a walk for everyone. Unfortunately they do not offer a guest shuttle even though it's only a five minute drive. Our rate included free breakfast which was nice and it's made to order but they had only half staffed the restaurant and bar so even though there was ample seating there was a thirty minute wait. It would have been nice had this been mentioned at check in (that you should expect a wait). We were on our way to go up to the mountain and would have started earlier if we'd known. Or management should consider having adequate servers available on weekends. There aren't a lot of options in Hood River and this probably is the best but just make sure to keep your expectations in check.

« Great location near town »

Nice spacious room with adequate drawer space. The heated hot tub and pool are refreshing on a chilly day. The system as to breakfast is a bit odd. Upon checking in you are given vouchers for the restaurant. Breakfast is included but only if you order something within the "box". Juice is not included. The are enough choices but I would like to see an egg white omelet as a choice. Besides I think everything in the menu should be included. Coffee and green tea were good as was everything else on the menu. Plenty of parking. The water fountain was inoperable. All else - very good. Just a couple minutes to the center of town.

« Great Place to stay »

We stay here whenever we go to Hood River. Love staying by the river, eating by the river. The staff are very friendly and helpful. That's all I have to say but you want 200 characters so here they are.

    « Comfort, great people »

Great place to stay! Welcoming people, great breakfast (more than continental- they give you a restaurant entree voucher) and omg the bed was so damn comfy! Get upgraded to the river side so you can't hear the traffic from the highway. About 45 mins to Mt. Hood. Good stuff. Thank you!

« Best Pet Stay Ever »

Best place to stay when traveling with dogs!! We received a goody bag for them. The potty area was just outside out sliding glass door. We saw many other dogs with families but the hallways were large and there was plenty of room to walk with your pet beside you.

« The Best of Best Western »

This is the finest of the Best Westerns that I have experienced. Right on the river. Easy accommodations when traveling with a pet. Room service with healthy choices/vegetarian when I'm road weary and starving and sick of bananas and almonds!! Comfortable bed. Nice rooms. Very helpful staff. I look forward to beginning and ending every road trip there.

« Stay in Hood River »

The room was fabulous - a fireplace in my room :) The view was amazing, the room was clean very good experience. The only thing I would mark it down for was the breakfast coupon... I didn't know I had to present it before ordering and I wasn't asked if I had one when I ordered. When I presented it after I had my meal I was told I couldn't use it. That was frustrating but overall the hotel was very nice

« Road trip stay over »

Stayed at this hotel as part of a road trip with my brother. We were upgraded to a riverview room which was fantastic. The hotel has a excellent restaurant. We were sorry we only scheduled one night and do plan on returning to for an extended stay when we vacation in Oregon again.

The staff is very nice and the views are great. The food is prepared properly. It is also nice to have a lounge on site. The location is great for White Salmon business. It is also close to downtown shopping

« Fantastic Hotel and Amenities »

Loved this hotel from the enthusiastic front desk person to the location on the river, room amenities and great restaurant. Get a river view room and use the balcony. Room has microwave and refrigerator so you can eat your leftovers because the portions in the restaurant are large and food is delicious. They give you dinner coupon for half off entree when you buy one. Also give you coupons for free breakfast and it is so delicious. The pepper bacon was awesome. This is a real restaurant breakfast, not a hotel breakfast and it is free! Beds and bedding are comfortable, room is spacious and bathroom is very nice and well done. Great place to stay.

« Comfy Beds beside the Columbia and Yummy Breakfast, too »

We have stayed at this inn about five times, usually on the "adult only" floor, in a spacious room overlooking the Columbia River. Always comfortable, clean, and lovely, it's a wonderful place to stay. A full and flavorful breakfast, served in the dining room or on the terrace, is included with every room.

« Excellent for business travel »

What delightful surprise I had staying at this hotel! The staff is wonderful: friendly, helpful, and happy. Easy check-in and a nice room expected me upon arrival. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The heat pump was a little bit noisy, but not enough to prevent a nice night of sleep. Breakfast was superb. I plan to return many times.

    5
    « Comfortable Accomodations »

The room was comfortable, clean and had a beautiful view of the river, We usually don't eat breakfast at the hotel but since it was included in our package we ate in. The menu offerings were diverse and the potions generous. We were happy to find that the outdoor pool and hot tub were maintained year round. Will consider another stay on our next trip to Hood River.

« Hood River - off road motorcycle riding »

A quiet location just outside of downtown next to the bridge crossing the Columbia River to Washington State. There are a few amenities at this exit from I-84 and you would have to drive to get to the central business district in Hood River itself. But nice views of the river. A great fine dining restaraunt, seems popular for business conferences. Staff are very professional and genuinely seem to take pride in their work. Was offered a free upgrade on my room at check in and they managed to keep me in the room all 3 nights even though I had made an error in booking and had two seperate reservations. It was not "in season" but I enjoyed my stay and would recommend to others!

    5
    « Quality and comfort »

We will stay here again. Nice rooms and river views and amenities. However, be warned, you will wait for the "included breakfast", unless you phone ahead and reserve or phone your order and take back to your room. The breakfast was very good, but next time we will phone ahead to avoid the wait.

« Great Place to spend Thanksgiving »

Spent the Thanksgiving holidays there with my two grandchildren and their parents. Had two adjacent rooms in the older West wing, with a balcony overlooking the Hood River Bridge. Great place to walk around outside and into town when feeling energetic. Kids loved the heated outdoor pool and parents the indoor hot tub and fitness room. Several Local breweries in nearby downtown Hood River.

    4
« Nice new addition, the rooms are well appointed and clean »

We had a really nice stay for a reasonable cost. I would stay here over and over as a getaway. Good service and the service at the restaurant was really good. The river view rooms are worth it. This is a waterfront property with spectacular views of the Columbia River.

« Great beds and friendly staff »

We recently visited Hood River for 4 days to see family and had a very enjoyable stay at the Best Western Plus. We were traveling with our Sheltie, and the staff were very helpful with setting us up with a dog-friendly room on the first floor. The staff also helped us find local amenities like the walking/bike path. Our room faced the river, the bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The only con we experienced was that the heating units are noisy, and followed the advice by staff to set on constant operation as a form of white noise. This helped mask the highway noise since we were on the end closest to the freeway and we slept well during our stay. Breakfast was delicious -- full service breakfast included in our rate. The fresh granola with yogurt is not to be missed!

    « Always a Great Stay!! »

What can I say?......This BW sets a new standard for BW's all over the U.S. Super friendly staff and beautiful rooms with a great view or the city or the river. At the South end of the property is a really nice heated pool with a river view and an outdoor hot tub! There is another hot tub in the workout area as well. No shortage of relaxing warm to hot water here. The lounge is a great place to grab a drink. The restaurant has good food but service can be hit or miss in my experience.......Generally good though. I always highly recommend this BW to friends.

    « noise »

place was nice but not worth the $195/night rate with all the loud mechanical noise coming from the ceiling/walls and refrigerator. couldn't sleep with ear plugs in. I figured with the brand new construction and high dollar rent, they would have these simple quirks worked out but they hadn't. The room had nice finishes and layout but there were no power outlets in the bath room at all...weird. Lastly, the coffee pot wouldn't brew a batch, got plugged up in the coffee drip basin.

    « Great Staff »

The staff was great! They made us feel so welcomed and even upgraded our room. It was lovely to sit down at a restaurant for the complimentary breakfast, the early morning view of the river and delicious meal added to the great experience.

« Great location, updated rooms, all the amenities »

Great place to stay to explore Hood River and the surrounding area. This hotel is in a prime location right on the Columbia River. The rooms are updated and have everything you need for a comfortable stay (including very comfortable beds). We stay here a few times a year with friends, and tour some of the local wineries and downtown Hood River.

« Great Hotel, Great Service, Great Food!!! »

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food at the restaurant and bar. Outstanding meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Desserts were divine. Great location and rooms were clean and comfortable. I would stay on the top floor next time due to kids above me bouncing on the floor, but other than that, an outstanding experience.

    « Another wonderful stay »

The 1st day breakfast was fantastic, probably the best I have had in a long time, Thanksgiving Dinner was awesome , everything was great, last morning breakfast the wait time was about an hour, the breakfast is really good, I think the Holiday crowds were probably a little overwhelming the day after Thanksgiving, great selection of Beers at the bar, would liked to have a Italian selection of wine" Bella Sera for my Wife, the service in the bar was great, super chill atmosphere in the lounge

« Lovely location, wonderful breakfast »

We stayed at this hotel for three nights over Thanksgiving. They have pet friendly rooms, so the whole family could go. The room looked out on the Columbia River and a sliding glass door opened right up to a grassy area and walking path, a plus for those traveling with a dog. The staff was friendly, the room clean with extra amenities like a refrigerator and microwave. The breakfast is much better than we have found at any other hotel. Lots of high quality choices, although there was a wait to get in on this holiday weekend. We are already planning our next stay at this hotel.

We had a lovely time at our favorite place to stay in Hood River, Oregon. We were also pleasantly surprised to find that we were able to use our points for a free room on a holiday. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was also good and the hostesses engaging at such a busy time of year. The weather was cold, crisp, and sunny. Just right for a walk along the Columbia River. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

« We will be back. »

We were pleasantly surprised at check-in with a room upgrade at no extra charge. A quiet river-view room with a king bed. Very clean and well appointed. Bed was comfy with good choices of pillows. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant - wonderful food, good choices of tap beer (some local).. Breakfast was in the same restaurant, Not buffet style. There were 11 choices on the menu included with the hotel stay. A little confusing about which beverages were included and which were extra $. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stay at Best Western hotels many times during the year, across the US - this one is definitely on our "stay again" list.

    « Great getaway. »

The view was magnificent. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. We were able to enjoy live music in the lounge and also have a nice romantic dinner at the restaurant in the Hotel. I am so glad we chose this hotel for a quick getaway and will definitely consider coming back.

    « Great Accommodations! »

What a great hotel! Upon check in we met Doug and he was beyond professional and kind. We appreciated our River view room and coupon for buy one get one 1/2 price dinner, although we were not able to use it because you had to charge the meal to your room and we could not because of the trip being business and needing the receipts itemized. The lobby is pretty and feels grand. We liked our room and the only two down sides were the smoke alarm going off twice, the first time they must of used an old battery. Also the air conditioner/heater ran on and off continuously. Other then that the room was quite and the view gorgeous! Comfortable bed and pillows. We would stay here again.

Best Western Hood River - one of the best stays away from home - people greet you with professionalism, helpful and friendly attitudes. View spectacular, Cebu Lounge a great relaxing atmosphere to spend with friends and the Restaurant is second to none for hotels with a chef that leads the culinary team with menus that excite and bring a smile to your soul.

« Lovely hotel with a great view »

The BW Plus Hood River is a great option for staying in Hood River. We enjoy the views, the restaurant, and the wine passport (however, you may have to be pushy to get the free wine passport which allows you to taste wine for free and save a bunch of bucks). We especially enjoy the hot tub overlooking the river. Very nice

    3
« location makes it a plus, room a minus, restaurant a minus. »

We liked walking along the river, what a view. Our room overlooked the river as we were given a better room in exchange for waiting for it to be ready, quite a while. The interior of the room was shabby, doorknob falling out of socket, worn woodwork, etc. Go for the view, and pool nothing else makes it worth staying.

« Nice place for the money »

Stayed Saturday night for a short getaway from Portland. Stayed on the 3rd floor executive level that doesn't allow children or pets. We loved our floor-to-ceiling view of the river, private balcony, large walk-in shower, and full-breakfast (included in price).

« Clean, friendly and comfortable »

I haven't been back to the Hood River Best Western for over a year but it's still a clean, comfortable and reasonably cheap accommodation option in Hood River. Staff as always were friendly and efficient. The only real disadvantage of this hotel is that because it's on the River in order to get to Cascade Ave in town with its great selection of bars and restaurants you really have to drive

« A great Place to Stay in Hood River, OR »

This is an excellent hotel and it is a great value for the price. The staff was friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. Check in was rapid and accurate. The room was spacious and very accommodating. It was very clean and nicely appointed. The bed was comfortable and restful. We loved the river view from our room. Breakfast was included and consisted of a range of menu selections in the restaurant. I had the oatmeal which was very nicely presented and contained nuts and raisens and a large section of baked pear. very tasteful. My wife had two eggs over easy, sausage and toast. the eggs were done just right and her breakfast was delightful. checkout was fast and accurate. All-in-all, this was a great place to stay.

    « Bring the earplugs »

The hotel was reasonably clean and the front desk staff were extremely nice but holy cow, the walls are THIN! We could hear everything our next door neighbor was saying. And no, they weren't being loud or obnoxious. They were discussing mundane plans for the next day, what to do with the dog, etc... We could hear their conversations so clearly that we thought maybe they'd left their connecting door open, but that wasn't the case. The walls are just plain thin.

    « Was a fun experience »

Surprisingly great ... Especially for a small town and a Best Western. Exceeded our expectations. Room was a good size, bed comfy and view of Columbia River excellent. Staff was friendly. We ate apps at happy hour and had fantasic clams in a garlicy flavourful broth and local beers. The place was hopping. We had a great dinner at the restaurant with some high end local Oregon wines. Included with the room was a made to order breakfast. The balconies are not really private and they are not too wide but nice view of the river. Ghere are places to walk along the water. We enjoyed the experience so much we are heading back ther this week on our return trip home. Hooe we have an eaually food experience.

« Clean, Easy, Convenient with a View. »

Great economical choice with a view. I stayed on the first floor on the riverside. Good for a one night stop or just visiting for a long weekend. It's a great value for what you get. Some negatives but not deal breakers - They need to update the curtains, bed runners and office chairs. The rooms are little dark and the walls are a little thin but what economical hotel doesn't have those problems.

« Great HQ for regional touring. »

This is a beautiful area with some great seasonal attractions like winery events, fruit loop harvests, and local festivals. Rooms are well appointed and some have spectacular views of the Columbia River Gorge. The restaurant is very good, one of the best in town. Live musical entertainment in the lounge on weekends.

    5
    « great stay »

We were given a room with river view, which was beautiful. I usually don't choose to stay on the ground floor, but I was able to walk out the back door onto the river trail. It was awesome! The room was clean and spacious. The hotel is walking distance to some museums and reasonably close to downtown. We loved the breakfast in the restaurant. The cost of a breakfast entree for each guest was included in the room cost. It was delicious, and we had a lovely view of the river in the restaurant too. It was a great stay. If I'm in the area again, I'd be happy to stay here again.

    « Accommodating! »

We asked for a certain room and they were able to give us the one we wanted, even though I believe it was an upgrade (at no extra charge because we are Best Western members). The breakfast is not continental. You sit down and have a waiter/waitress take your order. It is GREAT food and service. In the summer you can sit outside on the deck. In or outside you are viewing the Columbia River. New outdoor pool is open year round! Great place!

« For a Best Western, this is one of the Best »

Here in business and found the hotel and Resturant served most of my needs. Rooms are dated but very clean and tidy. Big room with a view of the river, you can't beat the view. Warm, friendly and welcoming staff. Check in was a bit slow, this may have been due to the reservation not being correct, still seemed to take longer than typical. The Resturant is very nice, with a great view of the river. Hood River Main Street is a bit of a walk, but not too far. One limitation was laundry service, however they do boast a washer and dryer for guest use. Good value for money and I would recommend.

    5
    « Surprisingly Good »

When I hear Best Western, I don't think "great hotel." But that's exactly what this is! It's a lovely property with a great view. The rooms are fine - standard mid-grade hotel fare. The restaurant is pretty good. The pool and spa area is great.

    « Return customer »

This is my 'go to' hotel for business travel to Hood River. The views are spectacular, food is fabulous and rooms are comfortable as a single or when sharing a room with a co-worker. The staff at this hotel are ALL friendly, helpful and courteous from check in, restaurant/bar to check out. Love it!

    « View is spectacular! »

We on the 3 floor in an executive king room. It was very nice with a wonderful view of the bridge and river. We saw a super sunrise from our balcony. The bathroom was huge and modern with a double sink. Microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Huge tv. The free breakfast was in the restaurant and you ordered from the green box on the menu with many choices. I had a delicious quiche and fresh fruit. We had a problem in the night where the power went off in our room. They sent a guy up and he tried to find the problem. I use a BiPap machine to sleep, and he brought a extension cord up for the one plug in that worked. They comped our room. They were friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

    « Beautiful River View »

My husband had previously stayed at this property on business, and was quite pleased with it. I just had my first opportunity to stay in Hood River, and absolutely LOVED the view! I had a river view room on ground level, and was able to walk out the glass door onto a small patio that opened out onto a small lawn area and paved walkway along the property. At check-in I was given a coupon to use for dinner, and sad to say that I did not use it. It was also nice having a paper that on one side showed the layout of the hotel. Makes it quite easy to determine where your room is located in relation to the restaurant, lobby, meeting rooms, etc. It also listed the hours to all of the amenities and wi-fi log-in. The back side had a map of the general area. I did not look too closely at it, but could tell that it was a map of what is probably the most common area of town with points of interest. I found that to be wonderful, even though I didn't use it.

    « Truly a great & comfortable hotel »

Very nice room with view of the Columbia River. Big & spacious room, clean. Walk-in shower was welcoming. Two nice easy chairs to sit and watch big screen tv. Couldn't rave about this place more, HOWEVER, we were shocked with all these great things about the hotel, our bed creaked all night long, loud. We noticed there was no box-spring, but they used slats to support the mattress and that shocked us. Slight turns in the bed, creaked and cranked all night long. We asked at the desk and she said that's like all the beds in this hotel. Shocked about that but managed to overlook squeaky bed for all the other nice things, including great Riverside Restaurant.

    « Perfect stay »

Stayed here after visiting Maryhill Museum. It's about 45 minutes beyond. We had a room with a king bed and a river view. Beautifully decorated. Loved laying in bed and looking at the river, clouds, hills and rainbow! Wish we had brought swimsuits and workout clothes, though. The restaurant (not cheap) serves delicious, interesting, well-prepared food. Breakfast was included, and there are several delicious items to choose from. Hoppin' busy. Make reservation unless you want to wait.

« What a great place to stay on the Columbia River »

The river alone is worth the trip but this resort is outstanding in its location, decor and service. A great restaurant, lounge and seriously caring staff set apart from your average stay. I stayed in the off-season (Halloween) but the service and quality were top notch. Riverview rooms are worth it.

« Best place to stay while touring Columbia wines »

Fantastic place to stay, excellent location and view of the Columbia. Lounge was fun, dinner was super and the free breakfast was coup! This hotel offers local information, maps, and guides of where to go and what to do (as if you didn't know!) We will return often.

« Excellent service and stay »

We're frequent BW members, and this was probably the nicest BW we've ever stayed, with the best staff. I had a lovely conversation with Doug upon booking my reservation. We talked about the area ( we're looking to move ) and he had great suggestions, and tips - it felt like a leisurely conversation with a friend! He then spent time explaining the different room options, and suggested the Jr Executive suite for the most bang for our buck ( for our needs ). We were not disappointed! The room was spacious, very nicely done and up to date, comfortable and super clean. We had lovely river views. Only downside is highway noise. But, otherwise great location. Breakfast in the Riverside restaurant on site was great and came with river views. ( Part of the menu was complimentary with hotel stay ) we had the prime rib hash. After breakfast Denise asked our plans, asked about our interests and made lots of suggestions, even showed us places to go and things to see. We must've spent 45 minutes just talking with her! Wish we could've stayed longer!

« This hotel has it all. »

I was making a quick trip through the gorge, and decided to give this place a try. I called in the evening, staff was friendly and helpful. I booked one of the smaller queen bed rooms, that did not face the river. When I arrived, staff was prompt, friendly and gave me clear directions to my room for the night, and instructions for the morning's breakfast. The room was a great value, included the best breakfast EVER, included with the room. My room was nicely furnished, clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. The room had a little outside space, that I didn't use, but would be nice on a summer afternoon. The hotel itself has walkways near the river and a excellent restaurant and bar, on site. I will recommend this and return myself. Thank you, Best Western PLUS, Hood River. Well done!

« Lovely place to take a rest. »

We were so happy to return to the beautiful and welcoming Hood River Inn. The room seemed to be newly decorated and the walls were a light pastel color, with matching curtains and white lampshades and pictures of flowers on the walls. This, with the view of the wonderful Columbia river through the sparkling clean windows, put me in a good mood from the first moment I stepped in the room and looked out at the brimming water. This said, the three days passed blissfully in eating delicious food in the Riverside dining room, swimming in the pool, which was just the right temperature, slightly warmer than the autumnal day, walking up to the top of the hill past the nice old Hood River houses, sleeping in the very soft white sheets and forgetting everything else. The staff are super nice and it makes for the ultimate escape from normal life. You can see the barges on the river, traffic crossing the bridge and freight trains endlessly passing by on the Washington side, and so do not feel abandoned in the middle of no where. Try it, you will like it!

Love this place! Dog friendly right on the river. And the restaurant is great (and I'm really picky). Best Veggie burger ever! Happy Hour isn't the cheapest but the selection of appetizers and drinks makes up for the prices. Quick walk or drive into Hood River.

« Boy, the views and the size of our room was exceptional »

I had asked for a view room and I was not disappointed. We had good weather and the views across the Columbia river were exceptional. The room was very large, very clean and had upscale shampoos and creams. The had a good restaurant on site. It made having an extra martini an easier decision as we didn't have to drive anywhere!

    5
« This is definitely the best place to stay while in Hood River »

You are right on the waterfront (make sure you reserve a water view room), the rooms are spacious with the bed facing the river, and the staff are exceptionally courteous and helpful. The restaurant was good, food was nothing to write home about, but breakfast was the best included breakfast I have had in a long time. You are right off the highway so it's really easy to get to your destinations. Just take note that you are outside of the town of Hood River, so you would have to drive over the bridge to get there (but its only 2-3 minutes).

    5
    « Excellent Stay »

Typically business trips are not something that I look forward to. Your staff and hotel made my stay very comfortable. Your staff was very knowledgeable about the area and recommended several alternative restaurants. I dined at the hotel and found the food to be above average and very affordable.

This is an excellent hotel with a beautiful setting. Hood river has many good places to eat or drink at , but the menu here and with the setting, you don't really have to go anywhere else. Especially if it is just a one night stay. There is a real nice walking trail along the river side. My wife and I came for the harvest festival and really enjoyed staying here.

« Super Comfortable Room with River View! »

I stayed in the king executive room with private balcony and it was spacious and well decorated. The view up the river is dramatic especially at sunset. All of the hotel staff are friendly. Breakfast, which is included in the room rate, is quite delicious with many innovative choices. The large outdoor pool area and jacuzzi are very enjoyable. This is definitely the place to stay in Hood River.

Great experience. Rooms are nice and clean. Loved the double vanities in the King Rooms. All the amenities met our expectations. We will definitely stay here again. Dining experience in the restaurant was very nice. The view is beautiful!

« Comfortable large room and great river view »

Great hotel room with a beautiful view of the river. Room was spotless and nicely decorated, and had a small private balcony. Bedding was comfortable with plenty of pillows. Clean bathroom with a tremendous shower and fluffy towels. Room was very quiet... we had a very enjoyable stay. Staff was very pleasant and accomodating.

Wonderful experience...excellent hotel. Anyone coming to this area should stay at this Inn. Great Hotel and beautiful view of the river. Room was spotless and it was beautifully decorated, had a small private walk out patio. Friends traveling with me also had the same feeling regarding our stay.

Rooms are very nice and clean. Great view of the river. Fair prices. However, we could hear peoples conversations through the adjoining door to the next room. Also, train noise all night (our window was open). Excellent included full breakfast at the adjoining restaurant (but dinners are terrible!).

    « Great Location »

This is an excellent property right on the Columbia River. Service and food at the included breakfast were fine. Only complaint was a mattress that should be replaced. This was our 2nd stay here and we would definitely return again.

    « Excellent location »

Great location for accessing the Columbia River Gorge, the Fruit Loop and Mount Hood. Enjoyed the river view from my room, and the hot tub and pool right at river's edge. Ample parking and convenient access to the interstate and town. Restaurant dinner so-so, but breakfasts were good.

« Beautiful Hood River Views »

Be sure to request a room facing the river. The rooms facing the freeway are a little noisy. We had a third floor room, river facing that was extremely quiet and private. The room was extremely clean and one thing that I noticed was the size of the towels. They were huge! I hate hotels with tiny towels. There are walking trails along the river ending with a small beach along the river or next to the pool. It was nice to have a restaurant on the premises. The service was great and the food was delicious. One reviewer commented on the fewer choices for the free breakfast. We found that there was plenty of choices for the free breakfast for guests. At dinner, we had the prime rib...delicious. The only drawback was that the prime rib was only served in the lounge and it was extremely loud. The restaurant is very nice and if the weather is nice be sure to sit on the deck overlooking the river. Very nice experience, normally we don't stay at a Best Western, but this one is a gem.

    « Great view »

I stayed at the Hood River Best Western for a work event. The gorge view is amazing and we loved the walking trail on breaks. The hotel breakfast was surprisingly good, the breakfast bowl contained quinoa, greens and black beans. It was delicious. We would stay here again!

« Can't Beat the View, Clean Rooms, Great Service »

Giving a Best Western 5 stars feels odd, but this Best Western deserves it. We were going to stay in Cascade Locks, but changed our mind when we looked around for the food options, and ended up getting a room here instead. The location cannot be beat, with AMAZING views of the Columbia River leaves you awe-stricken, and it is literally right on the banks, so they are hard to miss. However, they don't let their location get all of the credit. From the point of check-in to every encounter we had with the staff they were friendly and genuine. The room was a little dated, but who really stays in a hotel room for the decor. They were very well taken care of, comfortable and clean. The best part was the breakfast! Amazing.

    « Very good but . . . »

This was a very nice hotel and our rooms were great. We were on the 3d - quiet - floor which we loved. The only issue we had was with the restaurant. As a celiac, I ordered "gluten-free French toast. Apparently it was cooked on a surface where products containing gluten were also prepared - as a result, I was violently nauseated. Celiacs need to know when there is a possibility of contamination.

« Ok but not perfect »

Rooms were very nice, but very loud as it is right on the freeway. Breakfast is served in the restaurant and can be a long wait for a table. Pool and spa outside were nice to use. Hotel is right on the bike path, less than a mile from downtown.

    « Very suite stay »

We had planned to stay in Cascade Locks that night, but our plans changed just a few days before, and the only room left that we could book here was a suite. But I knew they had an onsite restaurant, and we were going to have a long enough day without having to deal with going somewhere else for dinner. Turned out there was a convention, which is why it was so booked up. The suite was much more than we needed, with lots of amenities. There was one large room with a balcony overlooking the river, king bed, two comfy upholstered chairs, TV, full size dining table, a fireplace, and a small bar with a sink, hotel size fridge, and microwave. The bathroom was divided into one room with the toilet and a huge shower with dual showerheads, and the outer room had double sinks. In addition there was another bedroom with a queen bed, TV, and a nook with a desk and chairs. Even though we would not normally book this type of room, I am glad that we spent the extra money to stay here because their restaurant was very good, and the weather the next morning was terrific enough to have breakfast out on the restaurant deck overlooking the river. Besides the restaurant, they also have a lounge, and another nice feature is that the residential wings are connected to the main building so that you do not have to walk outside. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We frequently stay in Best Western properties when we travel and this is one of the more impressive ones.

« Local pride shows at this Best Western Hotel on the Columbia River. »

We were staying here with our hiking group for a couple of days. Chose a room with river view which was beautiful and very restful. Everyone commented on what great food the restaurant served. Obviously used local ingredients and offered local beer and wine. Great staff as well. Friendly and helpful. We highly recommend.

« Room with a View and Lots More »

We were on a 12 day car trip travelling through Oregon and enjoying the scenery. Hood River was our first stop and what a way to start. The hotel is very nice, sits directly on Columbia River with great views. Be sure to book a riverfront room or else you will view parking lot. It is well worth any extra charge for riverfront. The hotel is well maintained, grounds are pleasant, rooms are very large (at least ours was). We were in a room numbered in the 300's which had a wonderful patio. Room was well appointed and very comfortable. The staff at desk is extremely friendly and assisted us on planning a trip to several wineries and the fruit trail. There is a nice walking path that starts literally at the hotel and goes all along river into town. One of the most important things to report on this hotel is the wonderful waterfront restaurant. We ate there one night and both mornings and were outside on patio. It was heavenly and the food was almost gourmet. Breakfast is included with your room and it is not just a pastry and piece of fruit. It is a full breakfast ordered off a menu. Very very nice. Also not to be forgotten is the bar. It is enormous, always crowded, and the food there is also delicious. Happy hour is outstanding with regard to food. We ate our 2nd night's meal there. Would highly recommend the restaurant and the bar. I can only say that if you are In Hood River you probably definitely want to stay at the Best Western It is perfect. By the way we are from the Midwest and had never been to Oregon and had no idea where to stay with regard to the Columbia River Gorge. Just let me say that Hood River is definitely the place you want to be in the gorge and you can easily get to all sights in the area

« Great for exploring area »

Nice room with a comfortable bed. Very clean. Nice view but not as great as expected. Would benefit from availability of binoculars. Conveniently located to highway. Would be a good base for exploring the area. On the expensive side.

Best place to stay in Hood River. Friendly, helpful people! It is on the river, great views with awesome breakfast choices. Why stay anywhere else? Close to Mount Hood, and Gorge hiking. I will be back.
