    « Universal Studios Trip »

Rooms where nice and very clean, hotel very close to universal studios, and overall decent pricing. We ate at the restaurant on site, it's not directly with hotel. The restaurant was nice but the service wasn't; the guy didn't seem like he wanted to be there nor was he friendly. We only had breakfast once.

« Loved this hotel. Friendly staff and the room service ladies are lovely »

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights before flying into Hawaii. What can I say. The room was huge and amazing had everything and more that we could of asked for. Bed was comfy and we slept really well In it the only thing we could of done with was a bigger/ thicker blanket. House keeping tided the room everyday to a really high standard everyday and really friendly and helpful. Reception staff were always to happy to help with anything. Asked for a late check out and they gave us to 12.30 and stored our bags till it was time to be picked up. I really can not fail them on there efforts to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. Restaurant is handy on site we had breakfast everyday and food was amazing. Recommend the ravioli! Staff where amazing making sure we had everything. All in all this place was really good for our rooms. I can and will definitely recommend this place

« Location, quality and service »

Fabulous stay. This hotel is everything far from Budget. Rooms are clean and comfy with SO MUCH SPACE.. Staff were fabulous and greeted us everytime we came through the door. Location was fabulous 5 mins from the BLVD and such a safe street and area !! Was a great way to finish my holiday

« It was good value kinda from were you want to stay in hollywood.. »

I Stayed there on sunday on 11/06/2016 It was a good stay it was close to everything in hollywood all in walking distants and close to the the metro if you want to explore more la. if your without a car. and even the beaches like santa monica and venice beach were the metro links go,,,the price is about avg price to what what the hotel charge around there .so if you go the weekend its gonna be higher than the weekdays,,, they do have a restraunt on site.. I never used it because there is ton of other food places that intrested me more nearbu,. the pool and jacuzzi were fine .. they both were very clean. the whole property was clean... the bed was comfy I stayed in a king sized room which was nice.... would I stay here again yes I would ... the only negative thing is that you have to pay for parking if you have a car and no free breakfast as most best western have.. they have a survey were they ask you to give you all 10's sorry I cant give all 10's unless you had free breakfast even if its contenantal or pay for parking... but other than that i would give it 7 out of 10

    « Perfect Spot »

What a great location and an affordable price. If you are looking for something close to Hollywood, this is it. Yes the Best Western name sometimes doesn't mean good but it was one very well looked after hotel with very spacious rooms. Only 5 min walk to Hollywood Walk of Fame. Restaurant on site is great for breakfast and cheap and staff at this hotel are so helpful! The only thing, there was no tea in the room only coffee and as I am not a coffee drinker I had to go out and buy some. I was only here for 2 nights but when I travel back ill be staying here again. Thanks!

« Great location near Hollywood Bowl »

Nice hotel. Easy walking distance to and from Bowl. Less than a 7 minute walk. My 24 year old daughter and I went to the We Can Survive Concert. It was wonderful. Right off and on freeway. Safe area. Friendly staff. Nice and quiet room. Definitely stay again!

« Great Hollywood Bowl location »

Super-conveniently located off the freeway and walking distance to the Hollywood Bowl. The room is small, but clean, and the bed was comfortable. Great staff. Nice little restaurant downstairs. Also close to some great tourist spots, Grauman's Chinese Theater, Walk of Fame, etc.

    « Best choice! »

I chose this hotel based upon its vicinity to the Hollywood Bowl. I have never been to LA or the venue. This venue is literally right next to the Hollywood Bowl. Parking ranged from 20 to 40 bucks at other locations and hotel parking was 18. Checking in Glenda advised us our room was right next to the street, and asked if we wanted a room further back. We said it was alright. Getting to our room - there is a glass exterior to the rooms - and we could not hear any street traffic. We also sleep with the fan on too for white noise. Glenda called to check on us to make sure the room was satisfactory and we didn't want to change rooms; which it absolutely was. I will choose this hotel for my "go-to" if I am ever in need to get to the Hollywood Bowl again. Superb experience all around with location, costs, service, etc. Parking is tight, but its LA!

« Very good if you budget is short »

Its a simple but comfortable hotel. Nice people at the front desk and the best (taking into account that you are not an expensive hotel) it is 4 blocks away from Hollywood Boulevard and its main attraction. Clean and spacious rooms and an even better restaurant!

    4
« Great location and excellent customer service »

We enjoyed our stay at the Hollywood Plaza Motor Inn. The location was perfect, a walk to Hollywood Boulevard to all the attractions. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The king size bed was so comfortable and the shower was great. Would recommend this hotel. The only negative was the noise coming from the people sitting outside the restaurant drinking. Otherwise, excellent!

« Front desk staff great »

Located within walking distance of the Hollywood Bowl and all of the touristy stuff, this is a great option to stay a few days. We had issues with noise from the bar and the front desk staff moved us to a quieter area. Only concerns were the maid service - we arrived back from a tour at 4:30 p.m. and the room had not been done. When they showed up at 5, they seemed disappointed that we did indeed want the beds made and the towels changed. The front desk staff were amazing though and helped us with tours, taxis and other recommendations.

« Hollywood Bowl Close & Great Value »

We stayed in a king room on a Friday evening. Lobby: small, but clean & they're efficient with the check in. The front desk staff was friendly & knowledgeable about the area. Room: very clean, most everything worked fine. For some reason, the hot water valve for the bathroom sink had been turned off. I just turned it on, didn't report it. The shower worked really well--the water pressure was very high. The bed was soft for our preferences, but other than that it was fine. There's a restaurant attached to the lobby that has general cafe food, and serves beer & wine. We took a club sandwich to go, and it was very good, fresh meat, bread & lettuce. Two remarkably good notes: if you are attending an event at the Hollywood Bowl, it is a ten minute walk to your seat from the hotel. Second, it is surprisingly quiet if you take a room that is away from the street and the bar. Some people may not like the outside corridors, for us it wasn't an issue. There are a lot of security cameras, and we didn't see any rifraff anywhere on site. We didn't feel any concern for safety or security. Overall, if I see another show at the Bowl, I'll stay here. We paid about $250 with parking for the Friday night, totally worth it for the convenience & location.

« Great value, service and stay!! »

A few friends and I booked this hotel on a whim last second. The location ended up being perfect, with a few quick food options in walking distance and the heart of Hollywood less than half a mile away. At no time did we feel unsafe and the room was very nice for the price we paid. The customer service was exceptional, with the front desk going out of their way to help us even after we had checked out and helped us figure out a ride to the airport. We were all very pleased with the trip and definitely credit the hotel to being a big part of making it successful!!

    5
« Value in the heart of Hollywood »

This Best Western is in a great location, with friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. Very reasonable prices for LA, further discounted if you sign up for BW Rewards program. Nice restaurant on-site is very convenient and will deliver to your room. A 10 minute walk to Hollywood Boulevard, with a pool and jacuzzi to relax after a day of site-seeing. If you are looking for a good value in Los Angeles with an established brand, this is a good choice. They also have more LA locations in other neighborhoods.

    « Would recommend. »

We stayed here for the 2nd time, great location. The room had been redone which was great, very clean. We used the pool area which was also very clean. It's also great as there is a fridge in the room. Only thing I would say is a safe in the room would be good. Would definitely stay again.

    « Very Disappointed! »

We booked this hotel (which is more of a motel) for 4 nights through CAA. When we arrived in the wee hours of the morning and checked in we felt very let down. The appearance, comfort and amenities in the room was completely lacking and did not reflect the almost $300 U.S. per night. The carpet was dirty and the room smelled musty. The room's door opened up to the outside and facing the parking. This alone also felt to be very unsafe. The only large window in the room was 2 feet from the bed right beside the corridor so you could not leave the drapes open because anyone walking by could look right into your room as they were passing in the corridor to their own rooms. Big problem since you basically can't ever open the drapes during your stay. So no sunlight! For a deluxe room it had 2 double beds instead of queen or king. There was little room for hanging and storing clothes and no safe to store valuables. We immediately checked out the following morning and checked in at another hotel a block away for less $ and superior quality. Sorry, but this place did not measure up!

    « Great stay »

This was an excellent find considering how expensive Hollywood hotels are. The service is great, the employees are pleasant and helpful. The highlight of our stay was the Spice Cafe. Great food and excellent service for a small tucked away eatery. Good sandwiches, good breakfast selections reasonably and comparably priced in this overpriced city.

    4
« Good location, value for money »

Great location, 10 mins walk from the Hollywood Boulevard. Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean, compact, comfortable bed , clean bathroom, simple friendly accommodation.Fun things to see are just a short walk away, whether the Chinese Theater down the hill or the Hollywood Bowl. I will stay here again. Stayed September 2016.

    4
    « Convenient and Clean »

We stayed here so we could walk to the Hollywood Bowl for a concert and were pleasantly surprised. Efficient staff, nice clean room and very quiet. The parking is really tight, so be prepared to jocky around a bit if you can find a spot. We noticed people without parking permits parking and going to the concert. The small restaurant/bar attached to the lobby is just adequate for food.

« Just a short walk to the Hollywood Bowl »

I googled hotels closest to the Hollywood Bowl and this one came up. I was flying in for a concert and had no idea where to stay. While this hotel may look dated on the outside, the people are helpful, they let me have an early checkin, told me how to get to the concert venue, and could not have been more helpful. The room was just what I needed: Clean, compact, comfortable bed, quiet location. I didn't come here for the pool (although there were people using it) and while the parking lot is a bit cramped, it is so nice to have someplace to park in Hollywood. Fun things to see are just a short walk away, whether the Chinese Theater down the hill or the Hollywood Bowl. I will stay here again.

« Good location, clean accommodation »

Hotel was old and a little dated but the location was great and the service was nice and friendly. Stayed here for 3 nights in September and did enjoy our time, didn't get to try the restaurant/bar unfortunately as there are so many places within a 5min walk to try. Overall hotel was nice enough, bedding wasn't to bad and having a laundry was also a plus. For simple friendly accommodation I would recommend it.

    1
    « Poorly advised »

Booked room for 5 nights through booking.com and got misled with lots of extra charges. Was supposed to be free parking but it was mandatory valet parking. Whole stay ended up costing $250 dollars more. When saw on credit card queried it and told tough.

    3
    « Not bad for the $$$$ »

Stayed here on our first trip to Hollywood/L.A. last month. We were here to see ELO at the Hollywood Bowl. This hotel is pretty cool as far as being .5 mile from the Hollywood Bowl and the same distance to Hollywood Blvd. Very convenient. Had a pleasant 2 night stay - pool was nice - room was O.K. Can't beat it for the money. I would probably stay again if we were here for a concert, but otherwise no plans to visit Hollywood again.

    « california holiday »

Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Los Angeles especially Hollywood Boulevard, which is 10 mins walk. Also we love eating at the Pig and Whistle which is nearby and serves excellent food and drink,

    « Good location »

If you're looking for luxury, this isn't it. However, it's in a great location - 5 mins walk to Hollywood Boulevard. The hotel is a bit shabby, rooms could do with updating but they are clean and if you're going to explore Hollywood and surrounding areas and only really sleeping there, then it serves it's purpose very well. The staff are very friendly and the food served in the restaurant is really good with lots of choice. The little swimming pool is an added extra. I would recommend this hotel if you're just looking for somewhere to rest your head after a busy day sightseeing but don't expect 5 star quality.

« Never ever best western again!!! »

I stayed at this hotel with a friend and some family that lives in California. The cleaners had been to the room and accidently taken a teddy bear from the room given by my dad that had only passed away the year before. The reception had no interest in resorting the issue even though they had an option of contacting my American family. I've tried several times to contact the hotel but haven't received as much as an email back. Definitely a hotel chain I can't recommend to anyone solely because of their lack of help and recognition of their flaw.

    4
    « Good location »

Good location, tight parking, powerful jacuzzi. A bit pricey, clean rooms, good a/c. Friendly staff though. The fridge did not work, but they got right on it the next day. Helpful on directions, even printed out directions for us. Should implement continental breakfast, so we would not have to go find a place for breakfast.

    4
« Great Location and very friendly staff »

This Hotel was in an excellent location walking distance to many attractions. The room was very clean and spacious. Our highlight was the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definately recommend this Hotel to other travellers,

    « Peacefull and Quiet »

After a night at the Hollywood Bowl for Black Sabbath it was nice to go back to our room and have a good night sleep and an easy check out before a long drive home. Thank you Best Western Hollywood Plaza Inn.

« Amazing Location, Clean, but can use renovation »

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, and i have to say it was an amazing location. It is steps from hollywood BLVD, and everything there. The hotel was very clean, it provided a safe atmosphere, and the staff were very nice. They were also very helpful with explaining transportation and where things were. The room was small, and for sure needs an update with furniture and carpeting. Other than that, i would for sure stay here again. The location is 100/100! It does have a very "Californian" feel to it as all of the rooms have windows onto balconies that are outside, and look down into the parking lot. Very cool.

    « Pleasant stay »

We stayed at the Best Western while attending a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. It was within walking distance of the bowl, which really saved us on parking and headaches. The room was clean and comfortable, and we had a very nice stay here. Will return in the future.

    5
« Great location, friendly staff, comfortable beds and clean! »

My husband, two kids (23 and 13) and I stayed one night. We wanted a location close to Hollywood Walk of Fame and Universal Studios, since we were going there in the morning. We could not have picked a better location. We had less then a 5 minute walk to Walk of Fame, and about a 3-5 minute drive to Universal. I was considered about how loud it might get at night, but we heard nothing! Beds were very comfortable, and everything was very clean. I highly recommend this hotel to others, and will be staying here again.

    5
    « GREAT LOCATION »

We stayed here to attend the ELO concert at The Hollywood Bowl. You can't beat the location--we just walked right up the hill. We had dinner (Caesar and Cobb salads) and drinks in the restaurant during Happy Hour before the show, and everything was great. The room was clean and neat, although I would suggest taking a fan for extra air circulation and white noise. On-site parking is an extra bonus. We plan on staying there again next month... highly recommend.

    4
« Good Hotel for Hollywood sightseeing »

Hotel is convenient for Hollywood sightseeing and just a short walk to the Walk of Fame and Hollywood Bowl. Room was cleaned daily but limited space for 3 adults. Coffee facilities, fridge and microwave are a bonus. Complimentary toiletries were good quality. Hotel pool and spa are quite small and doesn't get much sun but nice to use during the morning and there are plenty of pool towels. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only negative for this hotel was the noise from the cars underneath the rooms where alarms went off during the night regularly and cars speeding along a very busy main road immediately outside the front of the hotel and as this is more of a motel than hotel you can hear car noises all night and day

    4
    « Best Western Hollywood »

Within walking distance to the Hollywood Bowl, Hollywood Blvd., etc. Room was very clean, the staff was super. Added bonus was Spice restaurant right next door. Food was great. Would definitely stay here again. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that the room was a bit dated. Mattress was very comfortable & we appreciated the extra pillows.

    4
    « Hollywood Bowl »

In town for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, stayed the weekend at the Best Western because its the closest hotel to the Bowl, about a 10 min walk. Hollywood Blvd is also about a 10 min walk so no need to drive much so you can't beat the location. It's an older value priced hotel with outside corridors but is well kept and very clean. The room looked much newer than the hotel. The staff was helpful and nice. The restaurant/bar was small but the food was good. Parking is good. This hotel is a good value for the price but it's not the Hilton, if you want an upscale hotel you will pay double.

    4
    « Quality Services »

Cynthia, at the front desk was very friendly and professional. She was detail oriented telling us everything about the hotel services and surrounding area She was wonderful and a desirable asset to your operation.

    5
« Clean, nice, very accomodating »

The room was clean, the staff super nice and helpful, the little restaurant at the ground floor was a nice hangout. The maids were super nice and brought us extra towels. If I were to have one minor complaint, the parking was a little difficult because the spots are very small. However, this hotel is so close to Hollywood Bowl, it was wonderful not needing transportation. Great experience!

    5
    « The Best »

Value for money with very helpful staff who will go the extra to make your stay enjoyable, rooms are clean though not ultra modern they are far better than most, will stay there every trip to Hollywood in the future.

    « Vacation in Hollywood »

Very good hotel. Nice location near popular sites. Clean. Some noisy traffic. Local store nearby to buy snacks. Good prices on water and Cokes in drink machines! Parking is available for a charge. Parking area is small.

    « Amazing Staff »

Having recently stayed here for 5 nights we were extremely impressed by the Staff. On every encounter with them they were friendly helpful and polite and really keen on making your stay a memorable one. On one occasion the Manager went out of his way to a bus terminal in his own time to pick up a portable wifi device that i had left on a bus saving us so much valuable vacation time. Well done to all the Staff and to anyone who is unsure of a hotel to stay in around this area i can recommend this one you will not be disappointed. Great location Great Staff Great Hotel.

anything we needed, just let them know, loved being close to Hollywood Blvd - appreciated the secure parking at the hotel - felt safe - within walking distance of Hollywood Blvd. - cleaning staff very nice - on checking out, was greeted with smiles & thank you for staying with us, have a safe trip - really nice

    « Happy traveler »

Hotel was conveniently located for our purpose. We were able to walk to Hollywood Bowl and the old Kodac center The staff was excellent and the room condition was surprising good. Bathroom clean, plenty of electrical outlets and the bed was very comfortable. When we travel to the Bowl again we plan on booking at this hotel.

    5
    « Great location »

Great location. Only minutes walk to Hollywood Boulevard with all its attractions. We were upgraded to Junior Suite at the back of the hotel which was great. Our daughters had a room in the front of the hotel which was very noisy with traffic and people noise. Definitely request back rooms. Staff are super friendly and helpful especially Zuly.. She organised a driver for us so we could see all attractions we wanted to. LA is very spread out with heavy traffic so a private driver is a must. Zuly made our stay in LA very easy... Had our first meal in the hotel restaurant- Spice... fabulous food at a very reasonable price.. again great service and happy staff. Would definitely stay here again if we return (back room)

« Excellent location and friendly staff »

We stayed just one night for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl and the hotel is just 1/4 mile away and a very easy walk. The happy hour at the bar was playing the bands music getting everyone all excited for the show. We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival we were able to check in early and were upgraded because we are gold members. The room was very clean and had a great 2 person Jacuzzi tub. We used the pool which was good too. We are going back in two weeks to see another concert and staying 3 nights which will be convenient because of its close location to all the sights and things to do.

    « Great Hotel »

Can't understand the negative reviews on here.We have just left after a 2 day stay, this being the 5 th hotel on our tour of California. Our room spacious ,had a little kitchen attached and walked out on to a lovely pool area.Complimentary breakfast contrary to reviews was surprisingly good. Dining Room clean and bright, choice great, usual American breakfast. We have paid for breakfast at 6 star resorts and been more disappointed.Staff on sight really helpful.great restaurant 5 min walk away called le petit ,French but the choice huge and included French but also pasta,rice,30 specials and ok price.

« Great location and wonderful stay!!! »

We were greeted warmly on arrival and we had a great check in experience. We added an additional night and they were so very helpful! We ate on the property and the staff and food were all excellent! So close to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and all areas where the main Hollywood scene is! Easy walk and very safe area!! Parking on site and FREE!!!! Would definitely stay here again

« Close to The Action »

Great Hotel in a very good location. My room was at the back, very quiet and comfortable . The staff were very helpful in giving directions and local knowledge of the attractions was great Spice , their restaurant serves amazing nachos ?? Only a 10 minute walk to The Hollywood Bowl, which is great as there is always something on. Again, only a 10 minute walk to The Hollywood Boulevard which is where the action is. The walk of Fame , Chinese Theatre etc.

    3
« Hotel okay, but the Hollywood strip disappointing. »

My wife and I arrived on the 25th April and stayed for two nights. The hotel is situated within 10 to 15 minutes walking distance of the Hollywood walk of fame. Our room was fairly small and basic but clean. As our room was at the front of the hotel, it was often a bit noisy with the traffic from the main road and other guests walking along the corridor to use the one lift and stairs. There was no safe in the room and we had to keep asking staff, who were friendly and helpful, every time we needed access to our safety deposit box at reception, which became annoying. There is a small restaurant at the front of the hotel but we only used it for an evening coffee as the choice of menu seemed limited. Would we use the hotel again? Probably not, the hotel is in a good position for accessing the Hollywood strip but we found the strip really disappointing. It was just a boring and dirty road with just lots of music / film stars with their names, signatures, hand and feet impressions in the pavement / walkways but the most annoying part was the number of beggars looking for a handout which certainly made us uneasy walking around. Therefore, it is more than likely we won't be going back there again.

    5
« Great Location easy access to all attractions. »

We booked the room for my girls for their first Hollywood "girls" trip as the location was convenient and reasonably priced for LA. the rooms were clean, staff was kind and friendly the girls had a great time... Mahalo!

« Great central LA location »

I stayed here 1 night to be close to Universal Studios. Good hotel, spotlessly clean and the room I had was spacious with a huge bathroom. Walking distance to the Chinese theatre and Walk of Stars. Great decoration throughout the hotel, with lots of movie and music memorablia

    3
« Save your money: skip this area altogether »

The walk of fame is totally disappointing. It is just a big, unattractive street with tacky shops, tasteless "horror museums" and a lot of dropouts hanging around looking for a dime. Although our room was at the back of the hotel, we couldn't escape the overwhelming noise of traffic. The place is mediocre and overpriced. There are so many lovely places to go in the States, it is a shame to waste time and money in this part of the country.

    5
    « very good »

I Stayed in other Best Westerns, but this was really good. The front staff printed directions to whatever destination I had in mind. Also, Walk of the Stars and the Hollywood Bowl very near to this hotel. Only issue I can think of is driving out to the main hwy. is tricky since you need to make a left from the hotel. Very hard to do depending on time of the day. This really isn't hotels fault, but just an FYI for anyone going to this location and plans on driving around LA.

    4
    « A surprisingly great hotel! »

The location is far better than their website suggests. An easy five minute stroll to the Hollywood strip where the Hollywood and Highland mall is. So lots of,eateries and shops around. The reception staff were helpful and the cleaning staff take a very high standard for cleaning. Rooms are small but comfy and well equipped with fridges and microwaves, downside was power points didn't work in many parts of the room and the air conditioning in the room is incredibly noisy but I'd stay here again. From the outside it looks pretty bad but was a lovely quality room, spotless bathroom and location is a major plus.

    5
    « Excellent Service »

BW Hollywood Plaza Inn is well located for the Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood Avenue attractions. Staff service on arrival was exceptional and this continued throughout our stay. Our room was spotless and the bed very comfortable resulting in a great night's sleep. The restaurant provided real value for money.

« Helpful staff; good location »

This hotel has fairly basic facilities. The room was dated, but clean and comfortable. The pool is small, but met our needs in terms of cooling off. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is good - an easy walk to Hollywood Boulevard and adjacent to the Bowl. Breakfast was average.

Hotel is a bit aged but well maintained and the staff is excellent thus the "very good" rating. There is complimentary water and fruit at the front office which is so welcome after a walk around on a hot summer day. The food in the restaurant is so good and sanely priced that I did not bother to eat elsewhere on my 2 night stay.

« Great location for concerts! »

We love this location for concerts at either Hollywood Bowl across the street or the Greek Theater less than 4 miles away. They really make a huge effort to keep this property maintained. Only word of advice if you are at the Greek and there is an event at the Bowl, be sure you return to hotel via 101 as it's very difficult to make a left into hotel parking. A shout out to the desk staff: they are extremely professional and handled an issue with my reservation excellently.

« Location and service are key for this property. »

This hotel is an average hotel for the price. The building is not brand new, but is well maintained. I was in town for a show at The Hollywood Bowl and this place was exactly what I was looking for. Situated between The Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood Blvd., this hotel was a short walk to both. I was very pleasantly surprised with my stay. The staff was above average in my opinion, my little boy came in saying he was hungry and they gave him a few snacks to eat while I finished checking in. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be a short walk from Hollywood Blvd. or The Hollywood Bowl and is looking for affordability.

    « Nice surprise »

So after our stay in Vegas, we had to look for a reasonably priced hotel in LA and we found the BW Hollywood Plaza Inn. The hotel itself is in a great location on Highland avenue, just a mere 5 minute walk to the Hollywood walk of Fame and all it's bustling glory. The hotel is clean & neat. We booked a room with 2 double beds, a desk, and en suite bathroom. We also had a bar fridge, coffee machine & microwave, which was great. There was storage space but no safe. There are elevators to the different floors as well as ice machines on each floor, a vending machine & a coin laundry room as well. They have 1 restaurant / bar on the premises. We never ate here as there are so many dining options nearby including Starbucks, subway, McDonalds, Hard Rock cafe, etc. Parking is charged for and there is limited parking on this property. The hotel has a pool as well. We were actually pleasantly surprised as this hotel was nice & the location fantastic. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Hollywood, this is the one to go for.

« Nice hotel. Very good location. »

Staff was very knowledgeable, hospitable, friendly, and ready to help their customers. Thank you Glenda and Irene for going out of your way to accommodate my family. Quiet and clean place. Walking distance from Hollywood Blvd.

« steps from the Hollywood Bowl »

Five minute walk to Hollywood Bowl. Very convenient location. Staff was very friendly. Plenty of restaurants in the area and the pubs were lively and fun. Highly recommend the Best Western for anyone attending an event at the Hollywood Bowl.

    3
    « Near Hollywood »

walking distance from Hollywood Blvd near shopping center and Walk of Fame. the hotel price is over priced it did not include a continental breakfast. They have a very small restaurant which I think it was overpriced as well.

    4
    « Best Customer Service »

This hotel receives 4 stars due to the quality of customer service. The staff are very helpful, courteous and friendly. And most important cheerful! The room is comfortable. We stayed here like most people for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. If your room is near the front it can get quite noisy with traffic and pedestrians. It's an easy walk to the Bowl & the Blvd. There are some great restaurants also within walking distance. I would stay away from the onsite restaurant for dinner on concert days as they seem to play the music of the artist performing that night quite loudly for such a small space making it difficult to have a conversation or even order food as they got my friend's order wrong. I will be coming back in September for a show, I hope the level of customer service remains high. Oh and the Lobby elevator doesn't like to work. It was a running joke whether it was or wasn't working.

    « Great LA accomm »

Best Western Hollywood Plaza Inn, Hollywood, CALIFORNIA. Great location, every single staff member we encountered was wonderful, good cost of rooms, clean. I think they must make their mantra to serve the customer well and indeed they did so. We had our family stay in the one room and it was not at all cramped (compared to what we had been experiencing previously).

    4
    « Clean and quiet »

This hotel is perfect for those traveling to Hollywood. I stayed here 3 nights. The room was very pleasant- however the air con was a little bit noisy but it did its job. About a 10 minute walk downhill to Hollywood boulevard. Rooms don't have safes, but the reception does and they will gladly hold cash & passports

« It's an average hotel, amazing location! »

This hotel is an odd little thing where they cramme as much as they could in a small, very popular tourist area. The first/ground level is the parking (tight) and location of lobby and restaurant which are extremely small. I honestly think this is the smallest lobby we have ever been in! It would be nice if this hotel offered a complimentary breakfast but understandable why they don't as there is no space at all. Located on extremely busy Highland Ave, we were very glad the rooms are up on second level and higher as we heard no street noise at all. The room was very clean and decent and even had a mini-fridge and microwave. Our room had 2 double beds which was good for the one night we were there, any longer, see if you can get bigger beds. The swimming pool is small but nice. It is all about location with this hotel.. Basically, it is located in an area between 2 iconic Hollywood tourist spots....the Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood Walk of Fame where you have the TCL Chinese Theatre, Dolby Theatre (where the Academy Awards are held), Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and so much more! All within a 5-10 minute walk, which is great because the less driving you have to do the better. During our stay we were able to do a celebrity homes/Hollywood tour which we booked right on Hollywood Walk of Fame. We also visited Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica Blvd, Venice Beach...all just a short drive from this hotel. My recommendation, if you are wanting to do the Hollywood /LA thing and wanting safe/clean and great location on a budget then this is the hotel for you!

« Good stay, yet can improve »

I would recommend this hotel mostly because of its location and a relaxing pool area. You would think that a hotel with this price range would provide a breakfast buffet for the guests. But I noticed that there clearly wasn't any room for it. Staff was friendly during our stay. Room was alright, average size and warm, fortunate it is equipped with AC. Cleaning was very good! Smooth check-in and check-outs with no hassles. However, overall it was a very good stay.

    « Odd Hotel - Great Location! »

This is a very odd hotel... From its tiny reception area, to its even tinier restaurant (with very un-knowledgeable staff - I dealt with two separate people who had no idea what wines they had in stock... hint: nothing on their wine list!), to its outdoor walkways connecting the rooms... Odd! However it is in a great location very convenient for tourists visiting Hollywood, and the Walk of Fame. The room itself was fairly dingy, old, and average. I think it was wildly overpriced for the quality of the room! (Although friends of mine had lower rates, so I think it really depends when you book your room.) The showers are a crazy waste of water in a place where they have such water shortages - the water just pounds out of the shower like a massive waterfall -- it's FAR too much water and water pressure!! They really should put in some kind of new shower heads that don't waste as much water. It's a very odd place! If I stay in this area again I will try to book into the hotel next door!

« Lives Up to Its Plus Designation »

I stay exclusively at Best Western and very often they do not live up to there designation of Plus or Premiere. In the case of the Plaza Inn it goes beyond its designation as a Plus hotel. The front desk staff is amazing, they know what is going on and how to expedite the check in process. Also they are friendly and helpful. Our room this trip, our 3rd or 4th stay here was really good. It was only for overnight, but still they gave us a large room that was almost a suite. Nice couch, coffee table, large mirror, flat screen TV and the bed was very comfortable and afforded a good night of sleep. The only issue I have and it is not exclusive to this property, but the TV's all have remotes that do not access the sleep function. Consequently I have to remotely turn off the TV before I fall asleep. That is my only issue. As to location what could be better, a short walk from Hollywood Blvd and the walk of fame. Here you can find an entrance to the metro and you can either go to Universal Studios or downtown to the Concert Halls. Great hotel Great Location!!!!

    « Serviceminded, central, with a pool. »

Very professional staff made four rooms available including two interconnected rooms. Serviceminded when it came it delayed check-out, and flexible regarding having our car to stay for several hours after check-out. Good pools and close to Hollywood. However, somehow expensive, all in all, but recommended.

    4
« It has everything you need »

This place could not have been friendlier. We were greeted with a little goodie bag and cold water as well as fruit-infused water in the lobby. The rooms are refurbished and very comfortable. Our room had both a microwave and fridge. This hotel really strives to be good. We were given complimentary morning coffee in the restaurant and the server could not have been more gracious. The hotel is just a few blocks from the Hollywood Bowl so it is the perfect place to stay if you don't want to fight the parking, traffic, and crowds. We just walked "home" after the performance there. It was super convenient.

    3
« Average place in great location »

This is a very average hotel, but very close to the Holywood walk of fame and Chinese Theater. Hotel rooms are spacious and clean, equipped with basic furnitures. The hotel has tiny restaurant and bar. If you are not very demanding and want to be close to the attractions, this is a good choice.

    4
    « Good Location »

The hotel was clean & really handy to walk to Hollywood Boulevard (only a few blocks). We arrived early, but reception let us check in to our room. All the people on reception were friendly & helpful. The Hotel was really busy when we stayed there, due to The Little Mermaid being on at The Hollywood Bowl, but even so, there wasn't too much noise. We would stay here again.

    5
« Pricey but nice - and location is ideal »

This is one of the most expensive Best Westerns - plus high parking fee - plus no breakfast. But the location is ideal: A few blocks to the Hollywood Bowl or Hollywood Boulevard, a few short miles to Griffith Park. Wonderful people at the desk and elsewhere working. Rooms are small, but comfortable, spotless, well-designed. And it's a MOTEL - you park near your room, the only door is the one into your room. We do NOT like the current mania with "hotels" - we want motels. This is a motel. If you can afford it, I'd give this a very high recommendation

    3
    « Convenient, Parking Fee($18), Clean »

It was the cheapest but better hotel I found around Hollywood area. It is a walking distance to the Hollywood walk of fame and the busy mall. What I don't like is the rediculous cost of parking fees. The room is quite small and the bathroom is very narrow. It is very clean though. Our room was on the top floor away from noisy roads.

    4
« A Fun First Time In Los Angeles »

Our hotel, Best Western Hollywood Plaza was a good location for our first visit. Our room included a king size bed, fridge and microwave, coffee maker, cable tv, free wi-fi. The hotel is older, but remodeled nicely, not fancy, the room was spacious, the bathroom was roomy with a good showerhead and it was very clean. The desk clerks were quite helpful and the cleaning crew not only kept the room clean, but left extra tissues and toilet paper. Everyone who worked in the hotel was very friendly. A cafe connected to the hotel had good food at reasonable prices. Location-wise we could walk to Hollywood Blvd, the Walk of Fame, Graumann's Chinese Theater, a lot of souvenir shops, restaurants and the 1st stop for the Hop on Hop Off Tour bus. We went to a Dodger's Game, The Farmer's Market, Warner Bros. Studios for a tour, Beverly Hills and then did a separate day tour to San Diego. One tip of advice: If you don't have a car with you, Uber yourself everywhere. We did. It is easy, fast and so much cheaper than a taxi. Driving in the LA area is crazy. Also, regarding food prices, LA food is very expensive, just like New York.

    5
« Excellent Hotel for the Hollywood area »

Good price for the Hollywood area. The staff are very helpful and you can get a free granola bar for breakfast :-) Very close to Hollywood Blvd and starbucks is nearby if you need somewhere to go for breakfast.

    4
« Walking distance to Hollywood Blvd »

This place was clean, and had a good rate! If I come back to LA, I'll be checking in here! It's walking distance to the Hollywood Boulevard and will you all already know how busy the traffic is around here, it's crazy! Hope this helps you guys! Place has wifi and laundry room.

« Best Western Near Hollywood Bowl »

This is the perfect hotel when attending Hollywood Bowl events. It's on the same side of the street and within walking distance. They have a nice pool, Jacuzzi, and restaurant. I would recommend staying here.

  • 3
« Very convenient for Hollywood Bowl »

This was our 4th time staying at this BW. It allows us to walk to a jazz festival at the Hollywood Bowl; the ease and convenience is perfect. In the past we have felt that the front desk staff was exceptional-professional, efficient and helpful. This year was quite different-mediocre at best. Add to that, extreme noise from restaurant at night, after 10:30, which interfered with sleep. I had also pre-paid for the hotel so that my husband could check-in before I arrived. They did not honor the arrangement so he had to wait until I arrived from a family graduation.

    3
« A quick walk to Hollywood Bowl but... »

This place has changed over the years, It is convenient if you are attending an event at the Hollywood Bowl however It is very expensive. Parking is 22 dollars a day and its very hard to park in the narrow spots. The new Spice club is loud and I could feel the bass pulsing through the floor until at least 2 am. There was a mix up with the room and I had to be changed to another apparently it was half clean.

    3
« Best Place Near the Hollywood Bowl »

The service at this hotel was very good and the room was clean and well prepared. It is 10 minutes from the Hollywood Bowl so if you are attending an event and need a place to stay, this Best Western is just fine!

    3
« Great location, but noisy »

The location is excellent with everything in walking distance and I am sure that we would have had a great stay, however the 1st night was marred by very loud bar below. In addition, my wife and daughter seem to have been bitten by bedbugs as they woke up with itchy bites.

    3
    « Old fashioned »

Very disappointed with the decor of the room but at least it was clean. Breakfast was adequate in a cafe next door to the hotel. It is very overpriced! Would not return to this hotel despite it being close to Hollywood Museum. Having been on tour in California and stayed in hotels of a similar price but of a much higher standard. We discovered the laundry room which was a bonus.

    4
« Great location, quiet + clean room! »

Amazing little hotel in the heart of Hollywood. We walked a half a block to Hollywood Blvd. Perfect location. Only a subway ride away to Dodgers Stadium if you are catching a ball game. The hotel has access to a little restaurant which was perfect for eating an early breakfast before sightseeing. The room was clean and comfortable. Much quieter than I anticipated too, as North Highland is a busy street.

    5
« Nice hotel, close to amenities, excellent staff »

9 of us stayed here in may 2016 the staff were very friendly, the hotel rooms very clean, pool excellent. Would definately reccomend for anyone wanting a reasonable priced hotel close to all amenities.

    3
« Close to Hollywood Bowl but Smelly Choice »

The local to the hollywood bowl could not be better. The restaurant down stairs is a plus. Hours could be longer but nice to be able to go downstairs and get dinner. Pool was fabulous but the room it self had an awful body odor and curry smell. I was not happy with the smell at all. For the price we paid i figured I would not have to deal with such a bad smell.

    3
« nice hotel and close to everything »

nice little hotel..very close to sights in Hollywood..very friendly front desk agents ..only about 10 min walk to Hollywood blvd. only issue..could not get any cell service at all at the hotel. had to walk to street to get any kind of cell phone service..other than that was a nice hotel for a short visit..

    3
    « universal stay »

hotel is super close to everything. but there is no connection if you want to talk to family or get on the internet.... it says you can and maybe a day you can....but after that no way. bathrooms so small they need a mirror when you walk out of bathroom...and they do not offer free breakfast like every other best western out there... why?????

    « Good Little Hotel »

Nothing special, but it has everything you need. The reception are friendly and helpful, the rooms are a good size with good wi-fi, clean, just what you need. It is close to Hollywood Boulevard and the shops, they also have a little bar and restaurant. Would stay here again.

    4
« Really decent and central hotel. »

So we have just left and if your looking for a decent and fairly cheap hotel, this is the place! It's really central for Hollywood, 5 minutes walk to the Walk of Fame. Universal is only 15 away. The room was good sized and really clean which I my must! Friendly staff too. 18 dollars parking each night was slightly high for my liking but probably offset the cheap value. Can get noisy though at night because of the main road next door.

    4
« Best Western Hollywood Plaza Inn »

Hotel was ideally located near to Hollywood, freeway, Universal Studios. Facilities at hotel were clean and comfortable. Staff helpful. Pool was used every day and parking at hotel was very useful. would recommend to anyone who is visiting Hollywood as location is ideal for visiting local attractions.

    4
« Nice hotel and very convenient »

Our stay started out great as we were able to get into our room early. The front desk staff were polite and efficient. The room was a king and was quite large. I appreciated the coffee maker, microwave and fridge. Bathroom was also good sized and clean. The bed and bedding were great and made for a good nights sleep. There is a pool and hot tub. The seating area around the pool was nice. You are about a 12-15 minute walk away from Hollywood Blvd. It is a safe area and I never questioned walking home at night. A grocery store is near by (although, it is pricey). I would stay here again the next time I visit Hollywood.

« Not fancy, but close, convenient to what you want to see »

Just a very basic hotel, but was clean. it has a self laundry facility available and an in house restaurant, although the hours are limiting. it is a short walk to Hollywood Blvd, and is close to Universal Studios. although not walking distance.

    « On a very busy street »

We stayed at this hotel for three nights, it was on a very busy street witch the traffic never stopped, but it was great walking distance to Hollywood walk of fame and all its theaters, The restaurant down stairs had lovely meals and the staff were very helpful and friendly, it was great to walk into the lobby and they had a lovely cool and refreshing drink sitting on a bench for you to have, much need after the LA hot days.

« Average hotel at primo price »

Good location within walking distance of Hollywood sight seeing. Near busy street so plenty of noise. Breakfast not included and onsite restaurant did not open at advertised time of 7 am. Pool area ok but on the small side. I had a deluxe room that had good size and it was clean.

    3
« Paying more for less »

No free contintantial breakfast the rooms are over priced . I've paid more and got less. The owner of that particular hotel is greedy and money hungry and does not think about his customers. We were never told about a pool when we ck'd in .

    « Average stay in L.A »

The room was clean and tidy and cleaned every day. On the second floor we stayed, bed right next to window and door. With people walking past need curtains closed at all times unless you want them seeing straight through. Have to get a safe from downstairs which is a long mental tin and no lock provided, take one with you. A moderate amount of noise on and off through out the night. Fridge and microwave in rom with coffee machine. Vending machine didn't work. Reception staff pretty helpful. Walk of fame around 5-10 minute walk, not much else around the area. Cheep for area, if want to be central but need to travel everywhere. Not many local places to eat, starbucks an market down the road. Good price for somewhere to lay your head, wouldn't stay again due to not much around and would prefer something a little more up market. Served a purpose. Free wifi on site parking. Taxi to airport 65 dollars plus tip.

    « SO CLEAN!!! »

We booked a last minute trip to Hollywood and I read the reviews and booked because it said it was clean. HOLY COW!!! Was it ever! I forgot my phone in the car so I walked from room 223 to the elevator and then through the parking area to the car and back to my room. MY WHITE SOCKS WERE STILL WHITE AND CLEAN!!! You can't beat the location...literally right off the freeway and walking distance to fun.

    3
« Great location and price for Hollywood »

Great location to just walk to Hollywood sites such as wax museums, and the great beautiful over the top shopping center with the Chinese theater and stars on the sidewalk. Great night life-easy access to hotel. Hotel small, basic, get a room in the back to get away from the constant traffic up front. Beds were a little springy for my tastes, and could use newer carpets in our room. Excellent value for location.

    5
« Close to Hollywood Blvd, Good Bargain »

We stayed at this hotel for one night in April for the Hollywood Half Marathon. Our room was clean and quiet and was walking distance to the Walk of the Stars and lots of other Hollywood attractions. The best part was that the hotel was much less expensive than the bigger, popular hotels. This one is small, has very tight parking, and no free breakfast. But the personnel was very friendly, the room was comfortable, and there was a nice pool and hot spa with good jets. Nothing fancy here, but comfortable, clean, friendly, and a good bargain.

    5
    « Great »

    « Location location location »

Great location/neighborhood between Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood&Highland Mall/Dolby Theater. Only drawback is the difficulty getting out of parking lot during peak times. Affordable although prices do go up on nights when there is a concert at the Bowl.

« Quiet hotel within walking distance of Hollywood »

We spotted this hotel a couple years back while driving to the Hollywood bowl. When we need a place to stay for the Hollywood half marathon it was the first place we checked. It's ideal for anyone visiting Hollywood because it's within walking distance of every downtown attraction: Hollywood and Highland, Capital Building, Amoeba Records, etc. Considering most day lots charge about 15 dollars to park, the 19 the hotel charges is more than reasonable. And even though the place is right off a busy street, it's surprisingly quiet. We stayed on the third floor and weren't bothered by any noise from the street. Rooms are on the small side, but more than enough if you just need a place to shower and sleep.

    4
    « Great Location! »

Best Western Hollywood is in a great location to enjoy all that is Hollywood - a lot of it by simply walking, It is close to Magic Castle, the Walk of Fame, famous restaurants, Dolby Theatre and other entertainment venues. There are restauants and shops close by for a quick meal and tourist shopping - Subway, Chick Fil A, McDonalds, pizza, This hotel is a little dated but met my needs. It does have a nice swimming pool and an elevator.

« Lovely hotel in a great location »

Great hotel in fairly decent location. 10-15 walking distance to Hollywood Boulevard. Great WiFi. Reasonable sized car park (which you have to pay for) and it does get bit packed later on in the evening. Jainish in reception was very helpful in suggesting ways of getting to Universal Studios (which is actually only about 10 minutes away by car). He also assisted in helping to solve a printer jam when I was using the computer in the reception to print off tickets. This hotel also has a separate bar/restaurant attached to the hotel. Would definitely recommend.

    4
    « Location! Location! Location! »

We stayed here for three nights in April 2016. It's an older property that's been well maintained but it's clean, safe and surprisingly quiet at night considering the traffic outside (we heard no noise in the night). The main attraction is the proximity to Hollywood Boulevard which is a comfortable and totally safe half mile walk away. I'd stay here again in LA. For sure. We booked ahead which I believe got us a way better rate. We heard some people calling for rate quotes while we were checking in and it appeared they were being quoted rates about $100 per night more than we paid. Staff was great too.

    4
« Walk to the Hollywood Bowl »

This is a great location, within easy walking distance to the Hollywood Bowl, which was super convenient. Rooms were well maintained and reasonably priced. It isn't fancy, but the location cannot be beat! Easy walk to the mall area, Hollywood Blvd., shops and restaurants.

« Weekend Trip to LA »

Overall our stay at this hotel was awesome. The main reason we selected this hotel was its close proximity to the Hollywood Bowl, and it didn't let us down. The rooms were clean and the restaurant served a great breakfast. We didn't use the restaurant for dinner as it was just a short walk Hollywood Blvd. Great location.

    5
    « Convenient Location »

Great hotel as close to Hollywood Blvd and the hop on and off tour to see the sights. Rooms clean and beds very comfortable. Nice pool area with hot tub to unwind. The spice restaurant is quaint and has a variety of food options. would definitely stay here again. Very friendly staff

« Great place to stay for the money, good value and location! »

I stayed here while working the 88th Annual Oscars. It was perfect for this because I could walk over to Hollywood and Highland every day for work. The hotel is only two blocks from the center of Hollywood. I didn't use my car for three days! My room was small but felt safe and comfortable. The hotel was so quiet I slept like an angel every night. My room had a coffeemaker and a nice size fridge as well as a microwave. The room was updated nicely and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom could have used more updating but it was clean with awesome shower pressure and temperature. There is a restaurant inside the hotel that serves breakfast and dinner but I never tried it. I recommend this hotel.

    5
« Great location, great hotel »

We stayed here while in LA and it was a great little hotel, really great location and all staff were really helpful. There was one staff member called Mercy who just couldn't do enough for us and this just added to our great experience with this hotel. The hotel is just so close to everything you need and want with the walk of fame being just down the road too. We would return here next time we come to LA.

    « Business Trip »

I was in town to visit an office and had a difficult time finding a hotel that would fit in my company's allowance. I ended up having to book this hotel. I was very nervous about the outside entrance, no security, no security camera's in the walkways. The front desk staff (2 young women) were not warm and fuzzy to say the least. I felt anxious each time I had to go from my room to the car or car to room. The noise on Highland Ave is awful. Ask for a room on the backside. The positive note is the room was very clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable. It had a small microwave and very small fridge. I would have liked a dorm size room fridge. I always had hot water and good water pressure. Once I was in my room and all the locks in place I was no longer anxious. It wouldn't be my first choice when I return but that is based solely on the outside entrances to the rooms. Once in side the room was great.

    3
« Par for the Course »

My visit to this property was, on the whole, entirely forgettable. The proximity to the tourist attractions is the only reason they are able to command such a high price tag per night for a room that would be worth half as much elsewhere. Not great value.

    3
« Great Location, clean, affordable »

It's Los Angeles, and Los Angeles can be expensive. We thought this hotel was affordable, and you get what you pay for. Don't expect a 5 star hotel here, but do expect a nice, friendly staff, clean rooms, and a comfortable bed. The pool and hot tub were crystal clear, and there are designated smoking areas. Based upon reviews here we requested a room in the back, and you should do the same. The walls are thin and the road in front can get very busy. We had no trouble hearing the drunks across the way in the hotel, but luckily they went inside before I had to call the front desk. The coffee pot in our room didn't work, but we never mentioned it to the front desk. Instead we hit the attached restaurant for our morning coffee. Starbucks fans will be happy to know there's on nearby, about a 5 minute walk, if that. Yes, we would stay here again.

The best part of this hotel is its location... It is about 3-4 blocks from all of the action of Hollywood and Highland intersection, which when you're a tourist this is what you're looking for. Also very close to Burbank (think WB studio tour) and Universal Studios Hollywood. The hotel is "motel style" where the room doors open to the outside. This is fine but you also hear pretty much everything going on outside in the parking lot, but ear plugs help with this. The room wasn't overly luxurious and the bed wasn't anything special but a good night's sleep was had. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't for you. If you are just looking for a nice, clean room to rest your head at night, then this place is for you! I would recommend it for sure. Only downfall is parking costs like $22 a night.

    « Great location »

This hotel is in a great location for all the sights on Hollywood Blvd. Very near Hollywood and Highland, which has the Dolby Theater and a shopping center. This a decent place to stay, but it really gets lowered marks from me as it's a motel. The doors are all outside, so the traffic noise is pretty loud. Then when you add running children making tons of noise (obviously no fault of the hotel's) and people talking loudly on their way to their room, it's just pretty noisy. Good customer service, good room (but a bit older), good price. But the noise just doesn't make it great in my opinion.

« Close to Hollywood Walk of Fame »

The Hotel was within walking distance to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theater, and other popular places to visit in Hollywood. The traffic was crazy, and the hotel is located next to a busy road. We heard sirens throughout the night while trying to sleep. The room felt clean, although the bathroom was extremely small. The fan in the bathroom was so loud, and there was no way to turn it off, as it was the same switch as the light. The fan was obviously not working, because the mirror was completely fogged over after my shower. The pool area is so tiny, that if other people are at the pool, you are basically sitting right on top of them, if you are trying to soak up some sun. There is a very high priced restaurant on site, and no complimentary breakfast. There is a Subway restaurant within walking distance across the street. For the price and location, I would probably stay again, even though I wasn't super impressed.

    « Excellent Customer Service »

They were able to arrange all our transportation to all the sites we wanted to see as well as arranging transportation to the docks at San Pedro. I would highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful and pleasant stay.

« Great trip fantastic location »

The hotel was fantastic and the room was great, location was amazing being walking distance to the Hollywood walk of fame. There were restaurants locally and a fantastic atmosphere in the area as they were setting up for the Oscars. The customer service was good and the hotel was nice, I would recommend the hotel for location generally.

« Closest place to the Hollywood Bowl! »

If you want to be closest to the Bowl, this is your place. Parking is around $22, and it is tight parking if your have anything bigger than a mid sized car. The decor is decent, and considering your r in Hollywood, and on a busy street like Highland, you will hear some noise. The rooms seem close to each other. Service was good from employees. If I'm going anywhere else in Hollywood, I tend to stay closer to the subway or on Sunset Blvd. It is a little walk to Hollywood and Highland. Would stay again, if going to the bowl

Stayed at this best western for a second time. The room was very clean.Ordered food from the restaurant downstairs. The food was very good and was made in a timely manner.Staff is very nice they set up appointments for me and even took pictures for me.Maids were a little loud in the morning -evening and some location car noise but, thats to be expected. All they have to do is tell each customer checking in is that please be respectful of others and don't slam doors or yell or speak loud. That would solve that in every direction. The location is where you want to be.Cant beat it.

    « Affordable »

Visiting LA on college tour stayed for two nightstand this location. It was very affordable in a good location. Not upscale but clean and easy to reach different schools in area. Best bet was to prepay online for most affordable rate.

    « Best Western »

The location is really good for walking to Hollywood. It is more of a motel than a hotel. The pool and hot tub are good, clean and in the sun. We had two rooms. My parents' room was large and had a separate sink outside of the bathroom and storage for toiletries. Our room was small, one king bed, and no place for toiletries except on the floor. Our room smelled badly too. It was sold out so we had to stay there. They sprayed air freshner which helped somewhat. They had washers and dryers which we used but the clothes that needed to lay flat to dry smelled like our room. Everything was clean but dated. The staff was friendly and the restaurant/bar located there was yummy and reasonably priced. I would only stay there again if I got a double bed room. I liked the location but usually prefer a more updated hotel especially for the price we paid. The doors of the room open to the outside, so technically a motel in my eyes. There should have been more security but I did not feel unsafe. Had to pay for parking and breakfast. The shower was hot and good water pressure. The nightly rate should be less for the fact that it is dated and no breakfast and parking are included. With all of that said, it did not ruin my trip. I would probably pick a different hotel in a similar location.

    « Everything that I needed »

My stay here was solid. The staff was very nice and helpful. I joined the Best Western rewards program and got free parking for my stay as a result so that was a nice surprise. My friend and I also received a goody bag with snacks and water that actually came in handy lol The room is small but served its purpose. I was surprised and happy that there was a fridge and microwave in the room. Albeit in the bathroom area which is kind of annoying but I did make use of both. I also made use of the computer and printer in the lobby for guests. The parking is kind of tight but I always found a space when I returned to the hotel. Everything we had set out to do was about 12 min or less driving time from the hotel so that was nice. The Walk of Fame is like 2 blocks so that was nice as well. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. It was no fuss and I enjoyed my time in Cali

    « Terrible »

When I reserved my room I was not informed of the $18 fee for parking, or that my rate did not include taxes. Save your money and book one of the nice hotels in the area. This is by far the worst and when I complained about the $50 per day extra charges, I was very rudely scoffed at. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere decent!

    « Surprisingly good experience »

I Needed multiple rooms with various lengths of stays, in a hotel close to Kaiser LA to be present while a family member underwent major surgery. Read TripAdvisor, Yelp, etc to get ideas because we are from out of town. None made us feel secure in picking any of the fair priced hotels in the area for various reasons. ie Noise, safety, location etc. We still felt like we were going in blind and were so thankful and happy to find that the hotel was very clean, quite and had nobody "hanging around". So much more than what I expected to get while trying to stay in Hollywood on a budget.. No frills but everything you needed all the basics very well taken care of.

    3
« Good location for a reasonable rate »

Good location 5-10 minute walk to hollywood blvd, and relatively easy drive to all other sites in the area. Property itself is a little tired and average compared to others in the area but it is cheaper than most other hotels so it's reflected in the price. I think they're updating the rooms now so may be better in a year.

    3
« Good basic style motel »

Location just off central Blvd up the hill pasted the church used in Sister Act. Closer enough to Hollywood but as a single girl travelling alone it was intimidating walking at night and I wouldn't recommend it for lone females. The rooms were clean, large and equipped with everything you need but a bit noisy.

    5
    « Nice place »

Great room for the price. Plus you can't beat free parking in LA! The infused water in the lobby was a nice touch. The only negative was the far away smoking area with no cover from the rain............................ Close to the Hollywood Walk of fame.

« Close to Attractions but Review Your Bill »

This motel is within waking distance (10 minutes) of Hollywood Blvd on a rather busy street (Highland). The motel was likely built in 1950's but has been remodeled and was well kept and clean. The parking ($18 + $1.80 parking tax/day) is in tight spaces mostly under the building on the ground floor. Rooms are OK, but we could hear our neighbor's shower. No HD TV, and very few channels. Breakfast is not included, but a small café on the bottom floor call Spice, which is not very good. We booked two nights and I guess it was OK, considering the daily room price (+$18.92 city tax/day). However when we checked out I looked at the bill and they tried to change us for 3 nights and 3 days parking. I brought this error to the attention of the young woman at the counter and after a while she agreed that the extra day charge was an error. She gave me a revised bill that still did not show the total amount so I was her to write the correct amount on the bill, which she did. The refund for the error took 3 days to show up on my credit card, and then was still in error, charging us an extra day parking fee. So I called the motel to bring this to their attention, was told that they would refund the amount for the 3rd day parking, but 5 days after checking out that refund has not yet showed up on my credit card. Aside note: when I was checking in there was an elderly woman asking f she could stay in her room until 1:00PM, as her plane to Auckland was leaving in the afternoon, instead of checking out by 11:00AM. The clerk told her No, unless she paid an extra $69. The motel was basically empty at the time - not the best show of American Hospitality I would say. But then all the workers are Hispanic and so may not know any better or not have any option.

Hotel staff was great When we checked in there was a problem with the free parking promo no one knew about it I had a printout of the reservation Second day we had ants they gave us a new room and 1 each breakfast Neighbor was loud Next day key didn't work they thought we had checked out Overall the location was great Staff was great Food was very good Hotel was old with minimal upgrades price was ok for the area but high for the room quality Room was clean

« Best Western Hollywood Plaza Hotel »

Decent value but small rooms in this older hotel building. In very convenient location but need to work on it's relationship to it's connected, very tiny restaurant. Service was inconsistent, especially at night and guests cannot charge their meals to their room..that is rather strange it seems. Overall i would still consider staying at this hotel again but wish they would improve on the restaurant's layout & & service.

    4
    « Great Deal & Super Convenient »

It was clean, within walking distance to Hollywood Blvd, is not far from Universal studios, CBS studios, Warner Bros studios (short drives) and offered a great rate comparatively to all the other hotels in and around that area. Loved the shower in the room. Drawbacks would be traffic noise is fairly loud, in-hotel restaurant is ok (staff super nice though), and Hollywood area is a little scary whether you're in a super nice hotel or not. Overall, I recommend it if you're seeking value and just looking for a place to sleep.

    3
« LA at its worse »

The main issue was driving to and from the hotel. We expected that traffic would be busy but not impossible without excessive turns and longer traveling. At the hotel, we were treated with respect and care,

Stayed here from Jan 26th - 30th. When we arrived we were not greeted in a friendly manner. The lady came across as very rude and immediately put me in a bad mood. We were told our room was not ready for another 30 minutes which we were fine with. We asked her if we could leave our bags while we wondered off. She said yes and someone will be down shortly to pick them up so we waited in reception. 10 minutes later we asked Glenda if someone was coming and she realised the lady before hadn't notified anyone about them or given us tags etc. So she did so and we were on our way. We had a queen booked though the room was so small and walking passed others I think we we're ripped off!! It had a fridge, microwave, was serviced daily but was very cramped. It is about a 5-10 minute walk depending on what the lights are at. We felt pretty safe here, it's on a busy street but this made it feel safe when walking back at night time. By the end of our stay the other staff were friendly. Glenda and George?? (He was lovely!!) and another lady with dark hair were great, even leant me her charger but the First Lady we met (had glasses, lighter hair and a short name with letter U in it) has a rude manner and terrible nature about her. A real attitude adjustment needs to be made as she really annoyed me. You are meant to welcome your guest in a friendly manner, not annoy them and wait for them to look at you the wrong way just one more time until you ask for a manager!! Smile!! It's not hard!

« Too expensive and noisy. »

Though the place was clean it was very old and looked run down. Heard every person leaving and arriving in their rooms. Talking seemed to be amplified. Next to a very busy street which added to the noise. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Though we had to pay for the breakfast it was not bad. Location was good but not for the price. Even had to pay for parking $20.00 a day.

    « Great location »

The best aspect of this hotel was the location, walking distance to Hollywood Boulevard and easy for taxis to locate. The bathroom was spotless and bed was comfy. A little noise from the road which concerned me to start with but didn't bother us in the night. The restaurant attached offered a great selection and was always delicious, though it would have been nice to have breakfast included in the price. We had a car on the last night and thankfully there were plenty of spaces. All staff were pleasant and helpful.

« Avoid if you can »

Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The rooms are old and at no time did I feel safe. It's not a hotel, so it feels like people have access to the complex. It's little more than a motel. Sure the location is good, but there are other better hotels nearby. It's only a 5 minute walk to Hollywood. Likes others on this forum I had issues with my credit card after staying her, so be cautious. The room was a decent size, but the bathroom is tiny. The room is clean, but dated. Good wifi.

    3
    « Just fine »

An OK motel in a decent location, just a 10 minute walk to Hollywood boulevard less than 10 minutes drive to Universal. $18 self parking is available, although it looks like spaces might be limited. Also looks like they are in the process of updating rooms a bit, mine had relatively new carpeting. My room had a king bed with a small amount of space on 3 sides, a small table, two chairs, fridge, and flat screen TV with standard xable, not high def, Free WiFi was fine for Web browsing ando email, and I was on 3rd floor farthest from center of hotel in Room 308.

We enjoyed our stay here, staff were very nice and accommodating. They even lend us their adaptors as we didn't have one to charge our mobile phones. Our room was clean and tidy although a little small and crowded. Location was excellent close to Hollywood and everything. Shopping (ROSS) was across the road and lots of eateries..It was also close to staple Center if you want to watch NBA (we caught a taxi there and it cost about $20) pretty cheap! great stay and will be back.

    « Near Hollywood Blvd. »

Was told 10 minute walk to Hollywood Blvd. it is, if no walking issues. Short cab ride, if you do. Restaurant/Bar is great. Reasonably priced, service great, as was our food. For its price, it's what we expected. I'd recommend it if you want to visit the Blvd. area.

« Close to Hollywood great service »

We stayed here as a part of our Las Vegas and Los Angeles road trip prior to our wedding. We arrived about 5pm and were greeted by a lovely receptionist, when we explained that we were getting married she upgraded us to a lovely room with a jacuzzi actually in the room, yes in the room! The hotel is about a 7 minute walk away from the famous Chinese Theatre so it's centrally located. Nice clean rooms, more of a motel than hotel but still very good and good value for money. Go on...... Book it!

    3
    « GOOD ENOUGH »

We spent 4 nights at the BW Plaza Inn and were generally happy. The location is great, very noisy (being on a main road), the housekeeping service was great, priced right, but I didn't expect to have to pay for parking. It's not like you can park on the street as an option. Our room did have a musty, annoying odor, and the rugs were very dirty, stained and sticky in spots.

    2
    « Not Happy »

When we booked the room we were never informed that the roof was being repaired. Workers walking back and forth all day. Toilet backed up not once but twice and had to be removed. Rooms are old and need to be updated. The carpet appeared to be stained so we had to keep our shoes on. Bathroom lighting needs to be replaced.

« We were expecting more »

Overall, the quality of this hotel is not as good as other Best Western we have stayed in. This looked more like a motel: the structure of the building, the size and aspect of the rooms..... The worst part was that our bathroom did not have hot water. We were there in December, and showering in cold water was very unpleasant. We told the people at the front desk about it, and they asked us to run the water for 10 minutes, promising that it would get warmer. Even though there was a big sign in our room advising us to be mindful of the water because of the drought, we did run the water for more than 20 minutes and it was still very cold. We told the front desk personnel again and they said they would send somebody to take a look. When we came back that night, they said that the maintenance guy had said that the water was fine. We tried again, and again the next day, and the water was REALLY COLD. We had just come back from Baja California, México, where we stayed at different hotels, and we never had problems with the water. I found it ironic having to take cold showers in a hotel in Hollywood. It was especially frustrating having to listen to the front desk people insist that the water was fine when it was actually freezing?..

    « 3 nights in Hollywood »

The Best Western Hollywood Plaza Inn is in a fantastic location in walking distance to Hollywood Boulevard. To experience Hollywood, the streets surrounding the Inn is great. The rooms were appropriate for the quality expected for an Inn. The employees working behind the front desk were very helpful. I would stay here again for only two nights and may move to Santa Monica as cabs are quite expensive. Unless you hire a car to cut costs.

« EXCELLENT Hotel in Hollywood. Highly Recommended! »

I really like the Hollywood Plaza Inn. In fact, it'll be nice to meet the owners because it's such a great hotel. Location: I stayed here 4 separate times in December while visiting Hollywood. The location is phenomenal. I like that it's conveniently located just 10 minutes walk from Hollywood Blvd but on the hill so away from the noise. It's near a park and Hollywood bowl. Overall no complains about the location of the hotel. It's in a safer part of LA/Hollywood and it's nicely on top of the hill visible to a cross on the hill at night. Rooms: The rooms are good. They are clean and like any other Best Western hotel rooms. It has a good bed and always get a nice rest there. They have done a good work with house keeping. Service: Service is good. Different front desk staff are varying in service levels as you'd expect although it's good overall. I see also the manager has done a good job in their staff management - I happen to be around when the manager was correcting their personnel and he did a good job (identifying the problem and correcting future occurrence. avoiding blame shifting) I would highly recommend the Hollywood Plaza Inn if you need a place to stay in Hollywood. I hope to be able visit soon again. It'll be great to meet the owners who manage such an excellent hotel. Good hotel for it's location. Note, I'm not the only one who would speak highly about Best Western Hollywood Plaza Inn. Taking an Uber ride in Hollywood with a driver who had spent a month in LA with hotels because his apartment was under renovation also recommended the Hollywood Inn by Highland (which I'd presume is Best Western).

My family and I have stayed at this hotel many times for well over 10 years and have always been more than satisfied with service received, cleanliness of the room and fantastic location for touring in the Hollywood area. Covered and also off street parking is available with a security person present. Cyprian, the Hotel Manager is on-site and takes a personal interest in the comfort of his guests. The front desk personnel are always ready to assist with any individual request such as tea bags at 2 a.m. check-in. My only consideration for satisfactory hotel accommodation in Hollywood is this Best Western.. I have already booked my next stay there and looking forward to it.

We come from the East Coast but do not stay at this Hotel as we have a small apartment at a block away. We frequent Spice Restaurant, the eatery part of this Hotel. It is small but clean and attractive; staffed by most courteous and very serious people. Their menu items range from snacks to fairly elegant dishes; presented nicely. Liquid substance-wise, they offer Beer and Wine only. Sitting at the bar and leisurely munching away foods and drinks have been always pleasant. We always enjoyed gabbing with the staff behind the counter when they were not busy. We particularly like their coffee in mornings. We would even venture to say that their is one of finest in the USA.

It looked great from the outside. Unfortunately they have no Queen beds, I felt like a kid in the double bed. I am a platinum member but they had or offered no upgrades. Not at all the hOllywood experience I was expecting.

We arrived in LAX around 6am Friday morning after a 13hr flight from Brisbane, Australia. Upon our arrival at the Hollywood Plaza Inn Glenda on the front desk was exceptional - you're really not your best after a 13hr international flight in economy and we were made to feel at home - thanks Glenda. Over the next couple of days a young man by the name of Marlon (?) was extremely helpful on organising taxis and transport for us in LA to see various sights. The team in the Spice restaurant there are great, and the food is good value and quality. Yes there is some traffic noise but you are only several minutes walk to Hollywood Blvd and the Hollywood bowl. Highly recommended for those on the stopover to elsewhere in the USA. Well done to the team at the Best Western Hollywood Plaza Inn.

    « Awesome Experience! »

I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to LA. At first, we chose a smoking room because it was the only one available for my wife and I to stay but then, a day later we asked for a non-smoking room and they promptly helped us with everything. Not only that but we felt they went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant experience. The hotel is pretty close to Hollywood Blvd and some of the touristic attractions such as Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theater, Wax Museum and much more. There are also lots of great places at a short drive (20-25) mins away and it's totally worth it. We'd definitely come back there if we visit LA once again.

The only positive is that the front desk employees were very friendly. The hotel is very noisy, and the beds are very uncomfortable. The mattresses are cheap and very hard. Our room had water stains on the ceiling and curtains and the air conditioner had a strong skunk smell. Maintenance said that it was condensed water in the air conditioner. They fixed the problem but could not get rid of the smell and they could/would not move us to another room. The service in the restaurant was very bad, but the food was good.

    « HORRIBLE SERVICE »

They acted in an unethical manner. When i checked in i paid for my three nights which was debited from my account. When checking in, I specifically told them not to debit my card for further charges as i wanted to use a different card for the extra charges. The day i was meant to check out, i opted for late check out. They called me to notify me that the charge for the room will be $89+ tax, which was fine but then they went ahead and debited my card with no prior notice, even after i had made it clear to them not to debit that card for future transactions. When i went down they were nothing but rude to me. The staff were laughing at me and brushed off the fact that there was an error on their part. The manager Cyprian encouraged his staffs appalling behaviour. Whatever said and done, they are a hotel and should have better customer service. Instead the staff ignored their mistake and he said and i quote 'if you don't like it you should take your bags and leave, you have 15 mins to check out'. He encouraged his staff to laugh in their customers face and be absurdly rude and also did not make the situation any easier. The facilities were also very badly managed.

    « Way too noisy, can't recommend »

Stayed here in October on (what was due to be) the three nights of our Califormia road trip holiday. Whilst the hotel is in a great location for tourists i.e. walkable to Hollywood Blvd, Chinese theatre, Big bus tour stops etc., the main reason you stay in a hotel is to get a good night's sleep. Unfortunately this just didn't happen even though we both used earplugs. Our 1st room, was right next to Highland Avenue and the noise was incredible ? like being in a motor racing circuit with car, truck and lots of motorbike noise. No sleep. Asked to move for the next night ? got a room at the back of the hotel, so presumed no noise issues. Wrong. The motel style of the hotel means the noise from Highland Avenue is funneled down the corridors. Also there was a person in the room above who constantly moved noisily around the room until 5am, broke off until 7am then returned noisily. Whilst the reception staff, bed quality and room service were all absolutely fine and very accommodating, I simply can't recommend this hotel because of the location. We checked out after the 2nd night and found a hotel in Santa Monica which was quieter.

We found it was more of a motel lay out ... restaurant food was excellent. .. staff at bar and reception very friendly and helpful... down side we found we very noisy our second night we were woken by other guests fighting and banging on doors ..seemed to echo round as you could hear people coming and going ...especially when it was people leaving in cars or bikes we were woken early most mornings with this ... very handy for walk of fame etc as minutes away

    « Great customer service. »

This was my second stay this year at this hotel. The rooms are small, but they make it up with their great customer service. Irene at the Front Desk is probably one of the best hotel employees I have ever encountered.

« Ideal location, fair hotel »

This hotel was ideal for us as we went to a concert at Hollywood Bowl, which is just a 5-7 minute walk up the hill. Around 10 minutes in the opposite direction you have Hollywood, which is a massive letdown, but something that you have to see if you're a tourist; we were! The hotel is open and noisy, but the rooms are reasonable and there is a pool to chill by. Ideal for a one-two night stay, but not a holiday.

« Hotel not too bad - BUT.. ONLY PAY CASH »

Had to stay here for work during the last week in October. Hotel was close to the conference I was attending and only a short walk from the metro etc. Price was not bad for LA. You get a good view of the Hollywood sign on your walk up to the hotel. For tourists its close to the Chinese Theatre and Dolby Theatre etc. Hotel was not bad, more Motel than Hotel, but the room was clean and reasonable. Room had coffee maker, microwave and fridge. TV worked and Wi-Fi was great. I didn't have time to try the pool. BUT... Since staying at this hotel two of my payment cards have had attempted fraudulent transactions on them - At the same place in Miami. The only place that had access to both cards was this hotel at check-in. My first card was declined (corporate limit was too low for the travel I have done recently), so had to use another card - both sets of card details have been used for attempted fraud. (actually in between these two cards they tried my other credit card - but its magnetic stripe wouldn't scan - cancelling that as well!)

« Reasonable and great location »

The Best Western Hollywood Plaza is reasonably priced and a short walk to the main attractions on Hollywood Boulevard. The onsite restaurant Spice had a delicious breakfast and diverse menu. The location was the selling point. I didn't need to rent a car and when I needed to go anywhere I just used Uber and it was fantastic. The hotel shuttle was way too expensive - a taxi or Uber is half the price. The rooms were standard. The staff was friendly and helpful and the price and location can't be beat.

« Close, but no cigar »

Great location within walking distance to Hollywood Boulevard and the Metro Station. The hotel itself is pedestrian and, although the rooms are ample, the beds are small and unless you are very petite, your feet will hang off the edge of the bed. Also, the drapes don't close all the way, even if you use tape or glue (just kidding...), and the light comes blasting through early in the morning. Do not sleep with your significant other on these beds; neither of you will get a wink of shuteye. The employees, especially Irene and Pedro, were very accommodating and helpful, but since they cannot make the beds any larger or the room any darker, they don't seal the deal. Now, for those of us who don't like to spend 200 bucks a night for a room, at least the $119 was decent (bestwestern.com with a AAA discount). So, there's tradeoffs. If I had to stay there for more than one night, I probably would have opted for either the Holiday Inn or the Hilton Garden Inn just a few hundred yards away.

« Great hotel in a fantastic spot-very handy to walk to lots of famous sights »

This hotel was in a great location, only less than a 10 minute walk to the famous spots, such as the Chinese Theatre, Dolby Theatre, Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the bus stop of the Hop On/Hop Off bus tour and close to heaps of cafes/restaurants.

    « Clean and tidy »

While the room decor is of an older style, the room was clean and tidy and I was so pleased to see this after 15 hours of travelling and arriving into hotter temperatures than where I came from (Ireland). The staff were friendly and helpful and its in a good location for getting around.

« Room was great for its location »

The location of the hotel is what appealed to me when looked for hotels. It was only a 5 minute walk to the Hollywood Bowl where I attended a concert, and only a 10-15 minute walk to the Hollywood walk of fame. The hotel was great except for the extremely slow internet speed, and as well as part of the AC unit not working. Staff said they could not fix the problem on the spot, but gave me a discount for the inconvenience. Overall, they stay was quiet, comfortable, and had a pool to which I did not have the time to enjoy.

I did not like the location of this hotel, very hard to find, but after finding, the room was clean, they have a small restaurant and we ate dinner and breakfast, the food was very good. we had a problem with the air conditioner, a serviceman came right up and fixed it quick. We had no other problems the rest od the stay.

    « Never again! »

Stayed here for 3 nights and was given a room above the bar. The noise was so loud the room vibrated! Rang reception and they told me it would finish soon, 2 hours later ( 2am) it did. We asked to change rooms for our final night which reception did. It was better but think the maids only Hoover Middle of room as in the corners it was thick dust. I personally will never stay there again, shame as it's only a short walk away from the walk of fame.

« Gem in the heart of Hollywood »

Stayed for the Jimmy Buffet concert at the Hollywood Bowl. This place is the closest to the venue, clean and has a pool and has a very friendly staff. It also has a bar/grill called the Spice Bar that has great food and the most friendly staff. It was perfect for before and after the concert and was just as great the next night when business was slow. We're planning on going back to see more of Hollywood and will definitely go back here.

« Perfect location, ordinary rooms, expensive parking »

Perfect location - just 5 minutes walk from Hollywood Blvd. / Walk of Fame. / Dolby Theatre etc. Only 10 minutes drive from Beverly Hills / Bel Air, and only 25 minutes from Santa Monica Beach. Wifi is fast and reliable, the pool is not very big, but fine (and not crowded), parking is easy, yet expensive (18 USD/day) Ordinary rooms - nothing special, but clean and everything works. Aircondition was noisy

    « small & friendly »

A nice small and friendly hotel. The rooms were more than adequate with air con, microwave, fridge and coffee machine. Centrally located for hollywood walk of fame and hollywood bowl. Rooms were clean. Outdoor swimming pool and bubble spa with a few sun loungers. Didnt use the restaurant facilities. Staff were helpful with ordering taxis and directions etc

« If you cannot sleep though horrible noise, don't stay here! »

Well, for starters, this is a motel. The pictures on the website from which I booked were not of shots that would indicate that this was a motel. Had I known, I would not have booked it. My fault for not researching further. Having never been to LA before I had no idea that Highland Avenue was a 6 lane, major thoroughfare, with non-stop traffic day and night. It was extremely noisy all the time and sleep was extremely difficult. Cars honked continually and sirens were frequent. Not the motel's fault, but people would hang out outside along the rails right outside the room doors and be laughing and making a tonne of noise at all hours of the night. Being a motel, anyone outside their own room was extremely easy to hear and when they'd be partying at the rails outside the rooms it was incredibly loud and disruptive. The rooms were average for a BW - it is a motel after all - and they were clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Lighting in the bathrooms was terrible. Vending machines would not accept coins for some reason. Odd. Free wifi, which is always good. The male front desk staff were quite friendly over the phone and in person but the female front desk staff were not always quite so hospitable. The location is certainly close enough to Hollywood Blvd, being roughly a 10 minute walk. If you can sleep though extreme noise and are looking for budget friendly, no-frills accommodation that is close to Hollywood Blvd, then this place would likely suit. If you are a very light sleeper like me, I suggest you stay elsewhere. The only reason I got any sleep the 4 nights I was there was because I brought prescription sleeping pills with me.

« Room was good, Restaurant was awlful »

The room was clean and quiet and the bed comfortable. The front desk was extremely helpful and a pleasure. The waitstaff in the restaurant is another story. She took my order, served my food and and NEVER returned to refill my drink or check to see if I needed anything else. I could not get her attention and finally a wonderful couple sitting near me offered to put my food on their bill so i could leave to get to an appointment. I have no idea how they did that nor do I care. Honestly I hope she got stiffed. If I knew her name I would mention it here, but I didn't catch it.

« Fantastic location in the heart of Hollywood »

Some of the reviews I had read re-this hotel had me a little worried but there was no need. For us and our 3 night stay it was perfect. Only one tiny criticism is that there was no safe in the room though I believe safe deposit boxes are available at reception. The rooms were spacious and clean and the location is perfect being at the heart of Hollywood. There are vending machines on all levels that are cheap and the pool looks lovely though did not have time to use it. The Walk of Fame, shops and restaurants are just a small walk away. Highly recommend.

    « Poor quality rooms »

Stayed with two family friends but the experience was terrible. Price is not cheap and I expected more for the money. Rooms were smelly and few bugs flying around. Not a good experience. Very noisy rooms.

« Great location in Hollywood! »

Walking distance to all the attractions in Hollywood and easy walking distance to Hollywood Bowl which is the reason I chose this hotel. There is a Hilton Garden Inn and Holiday Inn beside the BW; except the BW is more affordable. Our room had a double bed and good for only a couple or friends...not much room if you have a family. The bathroom is small and the sink is located outside, which is where the microwave, fridge and coffee maker are...so there is very little room when sharing with another women. The wifi is slow but it is free. The room is also on the dark side so you have to turn on all the lights, especially since everyone can see into the room when they walk by. The beds are very comfortable, lots of pillows and the bedding, towels look new. The are some homeless people around the area but they don't bother you and we never felt unsafe. We used super shuttle when going to hotel and it was fine and then booked the airport shuttle with the hotel...it was an independent shuttle service which also picked up at other hotels. It was ok, but you have to leave enough time to get to the airport since he made 4 stops. Front desk is not helpful when it comes to directions for using the metro. We did go to the small supermarket close to the hotel and he told us where to get the bus to go to the Warner Bros. studios since we were going to see the taping of Mike and Molly. The bus doesn't run frequently so a good idea to use the metro app to figure out the times of the buses. The only negative of this hotel is my credit card did get comprimized as someone else mentioned in a previous review and my bank cancelled it. Not sure what is going on with the staff at that hotel since it was the only place I actually used my credit card...so paying cash is a good idea.

« Not luxury, but does all it needs to do »

Having had a family member stay at this hotel previously, I was a bit wary after some comments about its location, decor, etc. But I needn't have worried. The hotel is actually in a really good location, just 10 minutes walk from the main Hollywood area, so lots of eating places, bars (chain restaurants, etc). The front desk staff were really nice and friendly when checking us in and out (although don't bother asking them about local transport - just rely on Google for that! The Metro is 10mins away and there's a local bus to Universal Studios right across the street) and although the room was a lot smaller than other hotels on my trip, it was clean and comfortable with good air conditioning and a good shower. Unknown to my partner and I, we had picked the night of Kanye West's concert at the Hollywood Bowl (literally a 10 minute walk away from the hotel) to stay, so it was fully booked with people attending that and there were a few loud, over-excited guests but it wasn't really a problem. I think rooms close to the road might have experienced a bit more noise, as it's a main route onto the freeway, so I would try to ask for one in the back near the pool if you can. We didn't eat or drink in the restaurant, but I saw they had a happy hour promotion and they also offered breakfast too. Overall a good stay.

« Great location for the price »

Clean, easily accessible hotel with a pretty decent pool (except it loses sun coverage in the late afternoon), and just a 5 min walk to the Dolby Theater, Walk of Fame, and Hollywood/ Highland metro station. Would definitely stay again.

« Great location and great service. Room was very nice. »

This hotel is within walking distance of the Chinese Theater and Stars walk of fame. We had a very pleasant room with everything we needed. It had refrig. and microwave, iron and ironing board and supplied coffee and coffeemaker. It also had a pool and hot tub which we made good use of. We constantly saw staff cleaning rooms and the pool area. Would definitely stay here again.

« Excellent for going to a concert at the Bowl »

The room was nice and the location was ideal for a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. It had exactly what I needed for my short stay. The only negative was the shuttle service to get back to the airport. It wasn't as reliable as it should have been.

« Nice 2 day stay. Close to Hollywood Blvd. Nice Staff. »

We stayed two nights while visiting Hollywood and attending a concert at Dodger Stadium. Nice Staff and clean room. Nothing fancy but nice room. Location is very good, only 5 minutes to main intersection of Hollywood Blvd. We also drove up to the Griffith Park for sunrise which was awesome. Easy drive up there. Also easy access to Dodger Stadium via Sunset Blvd.

« Second Leg of California adventure »

Having stayed at a Best Western Plus the previous week this came as a bit of a let down, the room is small, with fridge and microwave very much a motel style building, the swimming pool was clean and very welcoming as the weather temperatures were very hot bit of a trek to Hollywood Blvd, and quite a few regular down and outs close by.We had a problem with the plumbing on the last day and the response was immediate so very good on that, air con was very noisy and right by the bed, the room was cleaned everyday and toiletries restocked plus plenty of clean towels, I wouldn't stay here again due to the location bit overpriced for the facilities paying for the area

« Check events in the area before visiting »

Location of this motel is on a busy street - there was a concert at the Hollywood bowl the evening we arrived and it was hard to cross over traffic and pull into the parking lot. The staff was nice and helpful. The room had a slight odor inside. The bathtub drain did not drain properly and filled as you showered. The bed was hard and kept me and my boyfriend tossing and turning. The A/C unit was very loud and also kept waking us up. Also keep in mind you're going to pay $18 for parking.
