« Relaxing and stress released »

Super clean room with Hot showers and a KING size bed was just the thing I needed. Extra special was the in room coffee maker and microwave. A TV which remotes batteries actually worked. I was able to unwind. Much thanks

    « Caring staff »

It was very obvious that despite an older property with an unusual multi building layout, the team who works here takes great pride in their work. It was very clean although the furnishings and fixtures were a bit dated. Breakfast was enthusiastically attended, well stocked and very friendly although items themselves were a bit lower quality. This is a great example of people making the very most of what they have and the overall experience is very good as a result.

« Great place to stay in Hazleton, PA »

I have stayed in a lot of Best Westerns. This one rates up among the better ones. This is an older property which used to be a lodge in times past. It is in the process of being updated. Although it has a "dated" look, it is a comfortable place to stay. The room (suite) I was in had an office area with it's own A/C unit, a desk, sofa, chair and coffee table. The bedroom had the standard two double beds, dresser, end tables and probably a 42" Flat screen TV. there is a balcony off the bedroom as well. It is clean and secure. I mistakenly left my laptop and tablet on the hood of my car while checking in and it was still there 30 minutes later. I'm totally impressed with that. The beds were comfortable, pillow-top, but a little firmer than I like. The front desk clerk, Shirley, is very personable and we had a pleasant conversation to pass the time after I checked in. She is helpful as well. When I was dissatisfied with the smoke smell in one room (supposedly non-smoking room), she took me to two other rooms to see which one I liked better. Haven't tried the breakfast yet, but am sure it will be satisfactory as well. The only way it could be better would be if there was an indoor pool and hot tub! I would gladly stay here again.

    « Great Place »

Found this place on the internet and decided to give it a try. Not a problem to be found during our stay. From the moment we checked in (Shirley at the Front Desk was great) to the time we checked out, there was nothing to complain about. Breakfast was hot and fresh. Room was clean.Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

« BW in Hazleton, PA »

Very clean rooms with wifi and breakfast. The shower was the best of any motel we have stayed. Close to I-81 and Hazleton airport.. This was quick stopover on the way back to Virginia. The complex appears to be set up with facilities for weddings etc.

« Best quality place to stay in the area »

If we return to Hazleton for business or pleasure, we would certainly stay here.Although I was a little questionable of the first look at this place. It had looked a little old on the outside, but they are renovating!!! When I entered the room, I was amazed a the cleanliness, sheets and covers were so bright, and the room was spotless!!!

« Great hotel and staff »

I really enjoyed my stay at this location. The room was very comfortable and clean. The location was also wonderful. The staff was really great. Ms. Sonnie and Ms. Shirley was as courteous, kind, helpful, and most of all professional. You couldn't ask for a better staff.

Staying at the Best Western Hazleton Inn on the way from Maine to Savannah GA. Booked a queen bed room on line a month ago. On arrival, check in was swift and accurate. The room was the surprise. A suite, sepearate living room, bath with jetted tub and dual side by side sinks, a fridge with a seperate top freezer, work desk, flat screen TV's in the living room and bedroom, a walk in closet and make up sitting area, and lastly a walk out balcony. Only downside was the pool was closed, and the in room phones did not work. All this for under $80.oo!

    « Gone downhill »

I have stayed here many times just a few years ago and was surprised to see that this hotel looks much more run-down. I don't know that I could recommend it anymore. The price is much too high for the value received.

« Great overnight stop. Again. »

This probably one of the cleanest rooms we've stayed in. The room was spotless, the bathroom was so clean and the tub/shower was sparkling.. The bed was extremely comfortable. It was quiet. The air conditioner worked well and was quiet. They are a pet friendly hotel which we appreciate and their charge for a pet is only $10.00 a great value for your money. Like other reviews, the exterior may be a bit dated but don't let that influence you. We would define ly stay there again.

    « a nice place to stay »

The hotel is a bit dated but CLEAN. The staff friendly and helpful. The internet an easy connection and there were more than enough outlets. Did I mention that it was spotless. The breakfast was very good. I could not ask for a nicer place to stay.

    « Some good changes »

They have started to update the exterior of the hotel and it looks amazing now. The rooms have always been good and clean but let down by the exterior appearance butt not any more. I can wait to see the final update. I stayed in an older style room but still very clean, comfortable and quiet.

« Nice place to stay. »

The hotel itself is fairly old and actually separated into 4 (or 5) distinct buildings. This threw me off at first, but it ended up not being an issue at all. The room was spotless, the AC worked really well, and the staff was very friendly. The hotel property was nicely maintained and landscaped. I would not hesitate to stay here again if passing through.

« Not bad but ok »

I hear a lot of things about this hotel as many years ago it was the ideal hotel to go to. It's okay not modern. I'm here on business and there were Outlets to power up all my tools with no problem. Excellent excellent management by Sonnie (female).

    « Hazelton »

The resturant and the golf made our stay very enjoyable. We ate at an Italian resturant in a little house and the golg was challenging. All information we received about this area was correct ant very helpful

    « Wedding »

As the mother of the bride, I was horrified at the treatment of one of my daughter's bridesmaids and her boyfriend. The couple lives locally but being consciousness professional people they decided to book a room at the hotel so they could enjoy the reception and not worry about drinking and driving. After the reception when they went to check into their room, they were told they couldn't stay because they lived locally. Too many local people had caused problems in the past. They were never told of this, when the room was booked. Instead they were forced to drive home. Not only was this discrimination but morally wrong. Absolutely terrible!

    « Satisfied customer! »

Five stars * * * * *,just what the doctor ordered after a long day of driving! Friendly and helpful staff made me appreciate my stay and will be the reason I stay again in the future! Location is near several attractions in the area recommended for families!

« Was denied stay due to zip code on driver lisence »

Me and my fiance were denied stay due to the zip code on her drivers license. The night clerk (Rick) told us that people from that zip code (18202 which is the same as the hotel) are a nuisance and tend to cause problems according to their policy. We were not discriminated against because of race, attitude or anything other than a number on a drivers license. Which Rick the night clerk claimed was posted on the website and it is not. Both of us have no sort of record of any kind (criminal or otherwise) and were dressed respectfully coming from a wedding and gave the night clerk no reason for this. We attended a wedding at the Genneti Ballroom (they are in the same lot), which my fiance was a bridesmaid. We live within the area (not even within the city of Hazleton) and booked the room so we didn't have to risk driving home after the reception. She booked the room on 7-18-16 and we would have been staying 8-20 to 8-21 which was well in advanced and didn't seem to be a problem until check in. At which time he was unable to make contact with the manager or supply a corporate number besides the customer line for Best Western (which I have already emailed the customer care department). After asking to talk to management and for corporate contacts, Rick told us he would "override management and put his job on the line" allowing us to stay. At that time because of their "policy" we felt so unwelcomed, disrespected and discriminated against (because of the city we live NEAR) that we decided in the best interest of both us and the hotel that we would just leave. Ironically the best man from the wedding was walking in after our incident and was allowed to stay.

« Nice stay while passing through »

I stayed here while traveling from New York to North Carolina. There are several buildings on the property that house the rooms. The property is in the process of being renovated so one must take that into consideration. The building I was in had been renovated. Everything appeared to be of newer condition from the carpet to the furnishings. They have a large pool area and the landscaping was also being redone. I was in a king room and the bed slept great and everything worked as it should. There is nothing about this property I can find fault with. I would for sure stay here again.

    « nice comfy stay »

Have business in area found the hotel accommodations to be comfy. Very good breakfast. Not many dinner options close by- need a car/cab to get there. Prices reasonable. Did not use any exercise/pool options if available.

« Nice stay and would stay again! »

We checked in on 8/28/16 at about 9:15 pm... the young lady that checked us in was very nice and polite! We were supposed to be on 3rd floor but we had too much luggage so I asked for a floor unit and sure enough we got it... the room was very nice, clean and the beds were great!... the pool area looked very nice and very well maintained... didn't use it but nice!! The breakfast was good and plentiful!! And to the very nice lady who told me about the nail salons close to the area..."Thank You" and they have late check out....Thank you Best Western... I will return...

    « I give the owners credit! »

This hotel appears to have new owners that really want to make a go of whats seems like a once charming country inn. The best that this hotel has to offer is an huge outdoor pool that goes to the depth of 10 feet. Its great. And, they have improved the landscaping greatly. We stayed in a newly renovated suite on the first floor. New carpet, fresh paint, comfotable bed and kitchen. Everything was in working order. The bathroom and furniture were VERY dated. But it was adequate. I was traveling with our dog. There were plenty of places to walk and run. The extetior of the four building and the public areas really nees updating. When I first pulled up to the room late at night.. I almost made a u turn. Poor lighting, questionable type of people hanging out in the parking lot, no visible security cameras. It was a creapy blast from thw past. Breakfast was average. Eggs, sausage and beeverages. The staff were friendly and helpful. Its one of those places that seems like it has potential. And, I wish the owner the best of luck. But, on our first visit, I did not consider it to be at Best Western standards.

    « Wouldn't go anywhere else!! »

This place is my 2nd home . Love it here . Everyone is so nice they go out of there way for you . Sonnie the manager is so incredible. Always a smile . We stay here 2-3 times a year and let me tell you it's home.. People may say this and that about this place but let me tell you these people are hard working people and do there best and if there is ever a problem just ask them cause I am sure they will help ... It's a great place to stay ...

    « Lots of Potential »

Stayed here after visiting Hershey. Clean hotel. Nice pool and it actually goes to the depth of 10 feet. We stayed in a one bedroom suite that was a little outdated but spacious. The hotel is going through renovations right now and they are wonderful. The manager has been here 12 years and is very personable and very proud of the new look. Would definitely recommend.

    « Consider Elsewhere »

Its not the cheapest in town although it should be,rooms need serious updating and not enough staff it seems to clean rooms on busy weekends.Staff Friendly enough and helpful.Breakfast was you're stock standard buffet style with nothing outstanding. For the 4 day stay would next time book elsewhere

    « Disgustingly cheap »

Room is disgusting. You get what you pay for. Found a pair of slippers & a plastic cup from previous guests under the bed. Room smelled like cigarette. Water in sink & bath tub drained very slowly. Rooms need renovation.

    « I liked it. »

Pool was the best part. It goes up to 10 feet!! Since i'm tall I found that very cool. Breakfast was amazing everyday. Nice people everywhere. I loved it. I checked in July 1st and checked out July 4th. Very good hotel.

    « Surprisingly Good »

We used to live in Hazleton and know what to expect from hotels in the area when we visit (which is mostly not good) Since we had a wedding at Genetti's (next to hotel) we decided to stay there as well. The outside is still old but the room was updated with new carpeting, tile and furniture. The pool looks new and they are working on the landscaping around it. They seem to be putting money into it and are working in the right order from inside to out. The only negative to the room was that the AC was somewhat loud but it was definitely working. PLease note. This is a motel not a hotel. All rooms face the outside and it is in a more country type setting. The breakfast seemed decent but we did not eat there. The staff was friendly and for the price its definitely worth staying at.

    « overnight stay »

On our way to Nashville we spent one night, the rooms were very clean, quiet hotel, staff was great, breakfast was good, close to interstate, newer building, lots of restaurants around, very pleased and would stay again.

« No Elevators and No King/Queen Beds on First Floor »

If you are a tall person, and have a lot of luggage, do not expect a 1st floor room. We were told that all first floor rooms are double beds only. We were traveling for the week and were very disappointed that we had to carry all luggage to the second floor via stairs.

« Probably an amazing place in the 1970's »

Normally I wait until I check out to write a review, but after a couple hours here, I need to write this review now so that I don't forget anything. This place looks like it was built in the 70's and is set on a sprawling campus of five separate buildings: One with interior entrance rooms (the building I am in), two with exterior entrances, one that houses the lobby and more exterior entrance rooms, and a building at the back of the campus which looks like it houses a grand ballroom and a catering service. Based on previous reviews it looks like the property has recently changed hands, and the new owners are attempting to renovate it. I check in at the front desk and am directed to building D for my room. As I drove up to the building, I almost did a U-turn right there in the parking lot based on the exterior appearance of the building. It's in very rough shape. I decided to keep going, and walked into the building. The first thing I noticed is that the building is not secure. No card key required to enter. This is the whole reason why I prefer interior entrance rooms. The hallway carpet is brand new and there's a fresh coat of paint on the walls. Very modern LED light strips have been retrofitted into the 1970's ceiling fixtures that clearly used to house florescent bulbs. I walk into my room, and see brand new carpet and a fresh coat of paint over the textured wallpaper. I do my usual bedbug check and see that the mattress and chair are brand new, so no worries there. The HVAC unit is relatively new and runs quietly. The micro/fridge looks relatively new. The bathroom still has the original salmon colored wall tile from the 1970s, but in fairness, it is in very good condition. I checked the shower, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The curtains look relatively new, but the windows are still original from the 70's. A coat of paint can't hide that. I decide that I want ice for the bottles of water that are warm from sitting in my car all day. I call the front desk, once, twice, three times, with no answer. So I drive up there and ask the very nice guy at the front desk who seems like he's trying hard but is completely overwhelmed. He tells me to take the set of stairs behind the front desk down to the vending area. I get down there and the ice machine doesn't work. He then directs me to building C, which I had initially assumed was completely shut down for renovations based on the exterior appearance and the caution tape everywhere. I went inside, and the relatively new ice machine worked just fine. I get back to my room and want to get some work done. I log onto the wi-fi and check the key packet for the wi-fi password, which is where it should always be. Nothing. I dial 0, no answer. Five more tries over the next half hour and still no answer. I drove up to the front desk and asked the guy at the front desk, who still seems very nice but totally overwhelmed, why he doesn't answer the phone. He said it never rang. I give him the benefit of the doubt that something isn't wired properly from the renovations. The pool area is nicely renovated. They are working on new landscaping. So from a guy who has spent 150 nights a year in hotel rooms for the last 10 years, here is my advice to management: You clearly purchased a hotel that had been allowed to deteriorate almost beyond repair. I would imaging you are hemorrhaging money right now trying to get this place back up to reasonable standards. But I see a lot of areas where you are being stingy, based on what I'm seeing in room 439 right now. The bathroom needs an update. Floral wallpaper, salmon 4x4 wall tile, and a salmon tub is ridiculously dated. The brass light fixtures all should be updated. The windows need to be updated. Maybe a fresh coat of grey paint over the very weathered brick exteriors of some of these buildings would make the facility look cleaner and more modern. Your housekeepers need to step it up, there are several hairs in the tub, some kind of food crumbs in the chair, and no pen and paper next to the phone. So to the new owner, I say that you were very brave to purchase this property, I hope that you are able to restore it to what looks to me like a great place to stay back when it was built new, and I wish you the best.

« Needs to be updated »

The hotel is quite dated, and needs to be refreshed to the standard of other Best Western facilities. The pool area was under construction, and the rooms were clean. Staff was helpful and professional. The breakfast was poor. Powdered eggs? Really?

    « I'll pass for next time »

The best part of this hotel is the Lobby. First of all, I reserved a KING room which they gave to somebody else, so they put me in a double bed room. Next I go to my 3rd floor room up ALOT of steps. No elevator. I never ever expected to walk in to what I walked into. I enter the room and it is HOT in there. The A/C was on and set at 65 degrees, Maintenance came in fixed the issue but took a while for the room to cool off, Bathroom and shower: ?The bathroom has a shower only ?The shower door didn't close. ?The shower pressure was horrible ...The shower had mold (ewww) ?The wallpaper was peeling off the wall ?The bathroom fan ran all night and it was turned OFF Furniture: ...The furniture was very old and outdated. Looks NOTHING like the pictures they advertise.

    « Nice older place.. »

This was a good half way point on our trip to NE from FL via AutoTrain. Needs updating but they are working on that. The most friendly staff we have ever encountered at a BW. I am handicapped and the ice machine was 2 buildings away, Kim brought the ice to me. We had trouble connecting to the WiFi, Kim rebooted the server...perfect. Bed was very comfortable and we slept like rocks. Breakfast was fine, can't believe someone else said microwaved eggs...I disagree...not the Ritz but we will come back on our trip hone next year.

    « Nope. »

Pros: Shower pressure and temperature was nice. Breakfast was decent. Lobby area nice. Cons: Dirty room. Cobwebs in corner. Shower caulking and door were moldy/filthy in parts. Wallpaper peeling. Furniture was outdated (did not look anything like photos), but at that didn't seem to matter as the bedroom felt clean (except for cobweb). First day - we had "do not disturb sign" on door and housekeeping started banging on door at 11am yelling and asking if we wanted service. We said yes, but were working on homework and will be out in about an hour. Apparently we missed them, and the room was not serviced that day. Next day - We left around 11 and still saw housekeeping in the hallway, assumed there wouldn't be a problem. Came back around 10, and first of all neither of our room keys worked and we had to wait for someone to bring them to us. Then, we walk in and all that had been changed were the towels. We were nearly out of soap and they hadn't replaced any of the complimentary items (soap, shampoo, paper/plastic cups, etc). Bed hadn't been made and trash hadn't been taken out. Really disappointing. Did they put us in the gross room and decide not to clean because we booked through priceline? Do not recommend.

    « So-so »

There were dirty towels in the bathroom from the last guest. The air conditioning unit was old and VERY LOUD! SO loud that the TV volume had to be way to high and unable to sleep with the unit on. On the positive side the bed and pillows were very comfortable and the bathroom had bee newly remodeled. There was a stand continental breakfast. The pool looked okay but the area around it needs to be landscaped, it was mostly soil and weeds.

« Quick stop to sleep only. Remodeling »

Stopped just to sleep for the night. They were obviously remodeling which was not an inconvenience to us. Room was clean. Closet door was not attached. It was off and leaning against the wall. Did not bother us.

« Old star being relite »

Old property, has new owner, being remodeled. Other than being in a depressed location and a few miles from route 81, the hotel was good. The internet was average, breakfast had microwave eggs and sausage, not so good.

« Great place to stay »

My husband and I have stayed here many times, as it is on our way back from a vacation home. We travel with dogs and this hotel suits our needs perfectly. Sonnie was so nice and accommodating when we booked the first time, and we have been returning ever since. The staff is wonderful. We feel like it is our home away from home, and look forward to our stay there after our long distance drive.

    « Graduation »

Need to upgrade rooms. Also need to take care of smell on rooms for guests with pets. Hotel is in good location and the area Is good too. Lobby also needs to be upgrade maybe more light colors and upgrade decorations will be nice.

« going to the mountains »

hotel was okay, need to do some landscaping outside, room was comfortable had little fridge and microwave, dont let the pictures of the hotel fool you needs work. had a great hot breakfast, sausages, eggs and waffles. pool was being worked on and not much of a playground for children, was surrounded by parkimg lot.

    « Interesting hotel »

I need a hotel for business I found this on it's an interesting hotel sortie unique not your typical looking place little off the beaten path sort of old-school looking but very modern rooms. Wouldn't be my first choice by just driving past it but pretty pleased once I checked in so far so good would recommend

« Good Place to Stay in Hazleton »

Very friendly staff - breafast ok - not european standard, onl sausages and eggs as warm things. Pool gets renovated right now. Roomas nice and big, very comfortable and good internet! If I would go to Hazleton again, I would choose the Best Western there for sure!

    « Very nice hotel »

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I stayed in one of the suites and enjoyed having a kitchen and living room while being away from home. The king size bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. The staff were all very nice and helpful and the manager (Sunny) was very friendly and outgoing. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    « Overnight stay »

This was a great stay as they are plenty of rooms to choose from. A little far from I-81 but it's worth it. Even with the computer glitch at check-in (poor girl), she kept apologizing even it was not her fault. She was very professionnal and keep on smiling. A big plus for any hotel.

    « Great Food »

Breakfast was great, as was a nearby Italian restaurant. Very helpful staff. Room was neat, but the coffeemaker still contained leftover grounds and some of the furniture was dusty. A luggage rack would have been helpful.

    « Not a typical Best Western »

I love to stay at Best Western, but this location was different. It was set among different buildings that appeared to be an abandoned hotel area. The room was clean, but there was no hot water and the shower head leaked, so did not take a shower, Would not ever stay here again. When we checked out. told the manager of the problems with the room - seemed to care, but offered no compensation.

    « Best Western Hazleton »

I have been staying at this hotel for several stays now and find it very comfortable. I like the place of my room because my sister is handicapped and it is easy access to room. I would not stay any other place. Thank you for the perfect place to lay my head on a clean pillow Lucille Chabala

« Not the nicest place. »

Wasn't the worst stay I've had. The bed was nice. The room needed big-time cleaning, though. Kind of gross. The bathroom wasn't very clean at all, and the toilet had stains from rust all over the bowl. The floor had bits of old TP on it, and random cigarette ashes. Whatever, I was there for work so who cares? But if you're on a pleasure trip check out other places.

    « Great Easter Buffet »

My wife and I enjoyed the Easter buffet at Genetti's in Hazleton, PA. Food was excellent and there was a good variety; ham, lamb, chicken, steak, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes vegetables, a nice salad bar, and a great group of deserts. (I should have started with the desert - didn't have enough room to try everything.) Cost for two was $62.41 including drinks (non-alcoholic) and gratuity. Staff was plenteous, professional, and very attentive. Dining area was well laid out. We arrived at 12:30 and even though there were many many people (of groups 2 to 20) in the dining area we were not crowded and could enjoy our meal without having to listen to the conversations of those around us, I would definitely recommend Genetti's Easter buffet. Be sure to make reservations.

    « Clean and a Comfortable Bed »

The facility is a bit run down but the room was very clean and the bed comfortable. After a good night sleep we went up for the breakfast . The scrambled eggs were so dried out they echoed as they hit the styrofoam plate. The coffee wasn't much better. My husband and I looked at each other and left to find breakfast elsewhere.

« Great sleep, good breakfast »

The staff were great for our check in and the check out was even better. There was some renovations taking place outside the building where are room was but inside the room was clean, neat and quiet. The bed offered a fantastic sleep and the hot continental breakfast was a welcoming surprise. did not expect this great service. The check out girl also looked after the breakfast and was very friendly and efficient. Would definitely stay here again.

    « finding a motel while travelling »

We always look for a Best Western Motel when travelling because we know that we will get good value, high quality rooms and courteous staff. We also take advantage of the low rates in the Room Saver booklet and have never been refused the discount. The directions on how to find the motel are very helpful and give us an idea on the length of time it will take us to find the motel.

    « Great place »

First, the manager (Sonnie) is great. She cares about the hotel and its patrons. Room and services were good and a free breakfast (eggs, sausage, milk, juice, cereal, pastries, etc) with plenty for the family were simply all one could ask for. Would definitely stay again.

« Will Never Stay At A Best Western Again »

They put us in a section of the hotel that was under renovations. When we walked into the room it was very cold, worn looking and had an odd smell. The first thing we did was turn on the heat however, it didn't work. We set it for 68 degrees and I don't think it ever got above 55. I don't understand why the hotel staff would put us in a section that was being renovated when there were so many other rooms available. Also, the free breakfast was a disappointment. The selection was poor, foods that should've been refrigerated were left out on the counter and no one was refilling all the empty food trays.

« Wonderful Hotel Great staff »

The employees at this hotel are great. They all, and I do mean all, go out of their way to help their customers. The breakfast was very good and included eggs, waffles, and sausage. The rooms are comfortable, but you really have to be used to a firm mattress. In fairness, I do have a bad back. There is a Sheetz nearby that makes great subs.

« Found a used condom package in our room »

We pulled in around midnight, expecting another great Best Western. My wife found a used condom wrapper next to the nightstand on her side of the bed. She was very unhappy. Usually Best Westerns exceed my expectations, this one was a Debby Downer. Hopefully housekeeping will improve. The room wasn't bad for an older building going through renovation. The price was good. The front desk manager moved us to another room.

« Used condom wrapper next to night stand »

I have been impressed with Best Westerns, for value, cleanliness and decor, in the past. This one needs a little bit of work, starting with cleaning rooms. My wife found a used condom wrapper next to the night stand. Besides that, the room looked ok, they were doing remodeling on the building we were in. It had a different look than most Best Westerns, but the price was good.

    « Aging Hotel »

This hotel is showing its age. Room was fine but no security at entrance to building D. Alarm went off during the night and had to call to find out what was going on. No ice except in one building (not the one we were in so had to go to a completely different building for ice. Breakfast was ok but egg pellets were cold.

    « Friendly and Clean »

We have been stopping here for the past several years on our way to FL. We have stayed both with and without our trailer. There is plenty of room at the back of the hotel for big rigs and trailers. Staff are friendly and the property is clean, and under renovations with new owners in 2015. They even provide a small gift bag for your pet. We enjoy staying here.

Although hotel shows AAA rating, it is poorly maintained. We arrived when temperature outside was 12 F, yet the heater in the room was turned off. The water pressure was poor and I suspect water lines were partially frozen. There is no unique heater in bathroom where tile floors were freezing cold. No light on desk making work there difficult. Heater ran irregularly and was noisy

    « Worth the Value - They're Improving »

The hotel is obviously undergoing major renovation and improvements. Largely because of this, the exterior condition of the facility is degraded.. Likewise, the interior of our room needed some attention as to wrinkled wall-paper, etc. The hot water was plenty hot once it got warm... on check-in, it took several minutes (3-4) for the hot water. The bed was comfy, the internet was fine, and the breakfast was 7.5/10 - again, not the top of what Best Western offers, but definitely not outside the range of what we'd expect considering the low cost.

    « excellent hote »

I will recommend this hotel to anybody. Clean, quite, great breakfast and most of all front desk personal the greatest. Hazleton town for me is the best I go there all the time and if there is no room at Best Wester Hazleton inn I rather not stay in any other hotel. The moment you walk in you get the first smile and care from the front desk, then they give you all the directions to get to your room and after all that they still ask if you need anything else they can help with. My experiecne are the best I go there 3 times a year or somtimes more.

    « More like a Motel »

This hotel is more like a motel. It has multiple buildings and outdoor walkways. The room I had was poorly lit and the walls were a little thin. I got to listen to the yelling of the people next door all evening. The furnishings were a bit tired, but I understand that the property is about to undergo a renovation, so perhaps some of these items have been upgraded. The wi-fi went in and out. The breakfast was pretty good, but the eating space was small and crowded when I arrived. I had to take my food and eat it in the lobby area. On the plus side, the service was quite good and small-town friendly. The woman at the desk in the evening and the others I spoke with in the morning were all quite hospitable. The price was reasonable.

« Hazleton PA Best Western »

Excellent place to take dogs as there is a place in the back to walk them. Also, there is an Italian restaurant across the street that has great pizza. It is an older hotel but very clean and the lobby has a rustic charm.

    « Terrible hotel »

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever been to. We had reservations and had driven 8 hours and were dead tired. We walked into the room and it was filthy. The floor had garbage all over it, neither the toilet or tub had been cleaned. There was a layer of dust on every piece of furniture. We returned to the front desk and told him the room was unacceptable. We were given another. It was better, but I slept fully dressed and did not touch the tub. Find a park bench. It will be better.

« Blast from the past! »

Booked this at the last minute, as we preferred the location to the hotel we had reserved. They were very accommodating and were able to give us a pet friendly suite which was very spacious. That being said, it was definitely dated...and had a few features that I have never seen in a hotel before (like a gated bin for dirty towels). Though dated, it did have a double vanity and separate make-up area. The dogs were able to stay in the living room, which was actually down the hall from the bedroom. The water was brownish and tasted metallic, but the hotel staff did give us bottled water when we asked. The next morning the water didn't work, but it was resolved before we had to shower. Breakfast wasn't fabulous (pretty sure those were powdered eggs) but the lady attending was very sweet and the decor took me back to my a good way. Dated again, but in good shape. Felt like a lounge from the 70s-80s. Overall we slept well, no noise, comfortable bed, lots of room, reasonable price. Manage your expectations though...this is not a boutique hotel.

    « DON'T BOTHER »

Having booked via and arrived past the cancellation time we had little alternative but to stay! The room was on the third floor and no elevator! Fortunately they found someone to carry our case up the stairs. The way to the room was along an outside balcony which was cracked and corroded - we did not feel secure at all. The room reeked of smoke and we could not open a window because it had been painted over and the fan only on the air-con unit would not function. We had tried to change the room on check in but was told the hotel was full and there was no chance. A miserable night and then to find out we only had one bath towel to share. Put the coffee on then to find no creamer or sugar .In all the room was dirty with cobwebs hanging down from the ceiling, stained carpets and a miserable experience. On checkout as usual was asked if the stay was ok - so I told the person the problems. Then had to repeat all over again to her supervisor who in turn had to telephone her boss - The outcome was a derisory $10 refund to my credit card. In the UK we expect a certain standard for Best Western - this hotel should not be allowed to remain in the Best Western Brand

    « Overnight stay »

This hotel was very accommodating in that they graciously placed us in a building that was pet free as my husband and I are both allergic to animals. The room was clean, smelled nice, beds were comfortable, and it was quiet. The only complaint that we had was the hot water. We had them check it out and they said that we needed to let it run longer to heat so we did. It worked; however, when you added any cold water to it, it all turned cold. So the shower was definitely a hot one!

« Horrible, and potentially dangerous »

If this is the 6th best hotel in Hazleton, I shudder to imagine what kind of shape the lowest five are in. I had read online that the property was undergoing renovations--not an issue for us; I was pleased to read that an independently owned hotel cared enough to update their property. Since I was traveling with children, I called to request a renovated room, and was told that although the hotel was sold out, the room we had reserved was "a nice one". If the room we were given was nice and newly renovated, than the other rooms on property must be a horror. Worn furniture and outdated (aside from the tiling on the shower walls--this appeared to be new) carpet, décor, etc., the room was just plain dirty. There were fingernails on the floor between the bed and nightstand (looked like someone had sat in bed and bit, then spat, their fingernails onto the floor), and a previous occupant had most decidedly ignored the nonsmoking sign outside the door. All of this aside, as gross as it was, the property itself was just creepy and had such an unsafe vibe, from the actual structure to the upkeep to the fellow patrons. The property looks like it was once a really nice little spot to stay, but decades of use with minimal care have taken their toll. Portions of the building appeared to be literally falling apart, including crumbling slate tile flooring and balcony areas that looked like they had simply fallen down and then been marked off with caution tape (!). My husband is a contractor, and when I suggested that maybe a crew had begun to renovate and then paused for the weekend, he stated that no reputable contractor would ever leave anything in the state that this building was in--it was simply dangerous. Like (legitimate) lawsuit waiting to happen dangerous. The upkeep was cans and cigarette butts everywhere, wet, soiled towels on the walkway to the room we were assigned. The rooms and property are NOTHING like what is portrayed in the photos provided by management (or perhaps, considering the state of the property, mismanagement). Maybe they really are undergoing a renovation--if this is the case, SHUT DOWN until it is complete and then reinvent yourselves with your best face forward. Seriously, dirty is bad, dangerous is simply unacceptable. AVOID at all costs, and maybe (MAYBE) give it another shot after the renovations are complete. The only good thing I have to say about this place is that they put up no fight when I requested a refund, took my kids and left. The poor guy at the reception isn't his fault, and I have a feeling he has to deal with a whole lot of unhappy customers. As far as the "country charm" the manager touts in so many review responses...I live in the country, and it is quite charming. This certainly is not it.

We had stayed here last year and would highly recommend it. I have already recommended it last year to a co-worker. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is a wonderful Italian restaurant across the street.

    « GREAT »

All was as perfect as it could be. Thank you so much. We are celebrating a special time (our 50th wedding anniversary) and you all helped to make it all the more enjoyable. Thank you all. It was great.

    « Wait a While »

This hotel is presently undergoing repair/renovation (9/2015). I would imagine in a few months it will be in much better shape and will present itself better. The room we were in was not bad and the rates were very good. Location was a little difficult to find without a GPS. Make sure you get directions from the hotel's website, at least.

    « Smelly room »

I would not recommend this hotel. Room was musty, smoky and felt unclean. The interior is very dated and the exterior is in need of a major renovation. I had the same experience with the night clerk. Check in was awful, took a long time, ran credit card twice for 2 rooms, needed to give names of everyone in the room. We arrived at 3am and asked for a late check out which they were not willing to accomodate. Overall, an unpleasant experience.

    « Eh.. »

Upon entering the room there was an overwhelming musty odor throughout. I also observed something, possibly the fire alarm had been ripped off the wall. Photo included. Room was spacious and clean, but the musty odor just ruined it. Thankfully, I redeemed reward points and did not spend any money for the room. Leaving early, so can't comment on breakfast. The lobby was very clean, and the night receptionist, Kim, was very friendly and helpful during check-in. Thank you.
