    « Surprise! »

From the exterior, the hotel looks like a basic exit ramp hotel. When you approach the lobby, the twinkling lights and rich wood accents let you know you may have made a good choice. Family rooms are huge, beds comfy and quality amenities are offered.

    « Great Value »

The Best Western Premier in Harrisburg boasts clean and spacious rooms with a very courteous and gracious staff. This venue really exceeded my expectations for a Best Western. I wish I could have stayed longer, actually.

    « Great staff »

Spent 3 days here for a conference and one overnight as I live nearby. The staff was fantastic. Food was good. Room was clean and comfortable. Quiet even with a soccer team and another group in house. Calvin was a tremendous help to a fellow conference attendee whose car battery died. Teresa a banquet staff member was so nice going out of her way to get me ice for an injured foot and asking me how I was feeling the next morning. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

    « Accord conference »

Hotel was very nice, comfy beds, and quiet on the seconds floor. It was clean and nice. Bathroom was small and the shower faucet was very hard to twist. Shower had great pressure. The pub had good food and drinks, but the service was not so good. Slow and forgot garnishes on drinks and seemed like he didn't really know what to do.

    « Great Staff/Service »

Love staying in this hotel when I am in the Harrisburg area. They do a wonderful job in catering and ballroom staff and waiters...The sleeping rooms are nice as well. Might need some updates slowly as wear and tear...

    « Nicely done »

This BW Premier property does it very well. Near the capitol city, but easily accessible from the highway. Plenty of parking on site for regular stays or conferences. Several exterior entrances make access to rooms more convenient. Hotel and rooms appear to recently renovated, a King + sofa room had a large shower, taking the entire tub area. Rooms are nicely appointed. Food was very good on all occasions. Small amenities like soap and shampoo were better quality than average. Prices at this time of year were great for what you get.

« Outstanding service, nicely remodeled rooms »

I stayed at this property because I was having a medical procedure done and it was close to the doctor's office. This way, my wife could drop me off, and then return to the hotel rather than wait in the waiting area. I had stayed here several years ago and the place was showing its age then. Apparently, they completely remodeled the hotel between that stay and this one. The rooms were extremely nice for the price and well laid out. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable, and the room quiet. At check-in, I was greeted by a very nice young lady and there were no issues with the process. Shortly after arriving in my room, I received a text from the hotel welcoming me and stating to call if I needed anything. Since I was not allowed to have any food or drink, I did not get to the restaurant. I did note that the Internet connection was spotty, dropping off-line a couple of times during my stay. When it worked, it was acceptably fast. The next morning, we packed up our stuff and left for the procedure. There was no "Do Not Disturb" sign in the room, but we called the front desk to ask for a noon checkout, which was granted. The only issue was, after getting me checked for my appointment, when my wife returned to the hotel to wait, she found that the housekeeping staff had turned the room. She was basically left with the choice to return to the surgical center or drive home and wait for a call. After I found out about this (which was the next day), I contacted the hotel and spoke to the manager on duty. He was very apologetic and made the situation right for us. When mistakes like this happen, the response from the hotel makes a big difference. Frankly, the fact that the manager worked to make this situation right means that I will definitely stay here again in the future.

« Quality Place to Stay »

I have stayed here a number of times and each time was really good. The restaurant has good appetizers. Not a bad place to go. The location didn't have much going on but enough around to get to things. The staff were extremely nice and helpful.

« Good amenities, So so service »

Overall the hotel is okay. The atrium is really nice. The rooms are decent although the bathroom is a little small. If you're sitting on the toilet you will hit your knees if you open the door. The indoor pool is big. The game room, fitness room, and laundry room are all nice and convenient. However, I am very disappointed with the breakfast buffet. The breakfast items are the same as the "free hot breakfast" you can get at other hotels. The free breakfast at BW Plus also in Harrisburg is way better in my opinion. Also I am disappointed that our room did not get cleaned even though I did not leave the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. I had to call the front desk to have it "refreshed". Then on check out day I received a wake up call at 7:45 am THAT I DID NOT REQUEST. I have a toddler with me, I don't need a wake up call.

« Coffee bar is exquisite, staff is exemplary, »

I've been around the world, the Best Western Premier Staff goes out of their way to accommodate every facet of your needs. Their kindness and attention is amazing, from recommendations to a simple phone call, they take the time and use their expertise to give you resolutions that benefit you. The free shuttle was a true unexpected please at 11 pm, saving us a $40.00 cab ride. I've been all across Europe, Africa, Mexico and China, this hotel fills my comfort zone! Would highly recommend.

    « Very Nice Experience »

Stayed at this hotel for business meeting. Comfortable bed and nice size room. TV selection was a little small. Buffet breakfast (not included) was very good. Staff very nice. Only problem was lack of internet service for about half of the stay.

    5
    « comfortable business stay »

this hotel is excellent. I have stayed here many times for business and conferences. rooms are comfortable, staff courteous, location convenient. Always good food and water/coffee/tea in lobby. lobby is beautiful and always decorated seasonally. family suites are especially nice. from past experience, staff who do event booking are very helpful and easy to work with

« The Best in Harrisburg »

This was a family and friends retreat....Rave Reviews over the hospitality of the Hotel Staff, except for housekeeping..make sure you watch your stuff..... Ball Room Staff Outstanding...The Banquet we had there the food was excellent...The hotel is in the Best location for Hershey Park, The City Park, Casino, Outlets and to take a Amish Tour. I would definitely go back..The Amenities were great and the ice cream social that's hosted.

« Best experience in the area »

We have visited this hotel for a conference for three years and have enjoyed it every time. The local flavor is great for the family while I attend my conference. We enjoy the pool, wifi, 24/7 coffee/tea, and other amenities when we stay. There has never been a problem with our room. I stayed at a local well-known lodge for a conference and did not have nearly as pleasant an experience as we do every year at the BW Central. Next time, I'll book here and commute to the conference at the lodge. It was a business trip, but I brought the family and we all enjoyed the trip.

« Hard to Believe this is a BW. Beautiful ! »

Spent one night during the week but from entrance to exit 5 stars. Welcome with smiles and outstanding atrium decor. Business center with 5 computers. Had dinner in their restaurant with outstanding service and large choice of food and brewski's. Room was Deluxe King with mini frig, coffee and large flat screen TV on ground floor with patio. Everything in the room was perfect (coffee machine in odd place). Used the airport shuttle twice, once upon arrival (white haired driver was great) and departing back to the airport at 5 am. Front desk attendant was also driver and very nice too. I can see why this is a Premier Hotel. Will use again next time in Harrisburg.

    5
    « Outstanding staff »

I stay at the Best Western Premier once a year for a work related conference. The staff at this hotel is always outstanding in regards to their commitment to customer service. I have particularly high regard for the staff that handle banquet services. Victor Ortiz and his crew always demonstrate outstanding professionalism while remaining friendly and approachable. Our server at our luncheon today, Brian Price, went above and beyond when he learned one of our colleagues was celebrating her birthday by bringing her a special desert. When you are away from your family for work those little touches that show a great value for your guests' experiences make a big positive impression. Kudos to the management and staff at this fine hotel.

« Our Event at The Central Hotel »

We cannot say enough how happy we are with choosing the Central Hotel for our events. We had a dinner, breakfast, dinner reception and overnight accommodations there this past weekend. Your entire staff went above and beyond in providing service with a warmth and caring attitude that cannot be more genuine. Jessica Deimler was our coordinator and she is purely amazing! She was on top of every detail and always with a smile on her face. Curtis and Mike were also incredible with their attention and helpfulness. The entire staff including: Jessica, Curtis, Mike, Teresa (banquet captain), Sherine, Tina, Gina, Bryon, Kevin, Donna, Rana and Paul were so attentive to every detail and their caring attitude created a warm family feeling that enveloped us all weekend. We are extremely grateful to everyone at the Central for making our event so special. Our guests could not stop raving about the service and kindness of the staff. We really did get to know them on a first name basis, they are all wonderful and truly special!

    5
    « Excellent service »

Staff when above and beyond with accommodating the family when toddler was temporarily ill and arrived a day late for a family celebration. Also banquet staff was wonderful to provide appropriate food on request (sending someone out to get some chicken soup as they did not have any in the kitchen or restaurant) without being asked to. The service and attention to detail was wonderful. A great time was had by all (including the toddler).

    « Curtis Wilson »

beautiful place with a nice restaurant/pub that has good food and a friendly staff. the manager Curtis is a true gem and will go above and beyond to help with anything.rooms are clean and lots of fall activities as well as Hershey park very close

    « Hotel just OK, Don't eat at O'Reilly's »

This hotel is just OK in my opinion, they don't offer a breakfast, just coffee. They are smoke free, which is great. I was unable to connect to their Wi-Fi. For $100, not a good value. O'Reilly's res. was substandard, rude waitress, dinner was just OK. The breakfast buffet was very disappointing, the food was dead cold.

« First Visit to Harrisburg »

I truly had high hopes for this hotel based on the reviews, however I didn't have quite the same experience. First, customer service. Dave was great checking us in and Ashley was great at checking us out. What happened in the middle was no customer service. On our first night there which was 10/11/16, there were issues regarding my rental car resulting in picking it up after 6 p.m. I arrived back at the hotel to find no parking. I and many cars drove around and around trying to find a spot. Finally, after about 20 minutes of trying to find a spot or asking if someone was leaving, I parked by the front doors and went to the front desk. The person working that night stated, "I know this is an issue but you can park at another lot next door." This was a rental car and I wasn't going to leave at "some lot" to possibly find that it had been towed. When I tried to explain this to her, I got "Oh well, management is aware and there is nothing I can do." I went back to my car and if it weren't for Alvin who also works at the hotel, I could have been driving in circles for hours. Alvin helped me find spot with a smile on his face, a great attitude and apologized for this issue. He truly went above and beyond Next, we are new to the area. When asking about local restaurants and where to eat, I was handed a piece of paper and told, "These are the local restaurants." No customer service. In addition to this, this hotel should offer a continental breakfast. Other hotels in the area offer this and I think this would make it an even better reason to stay. On a positive note, the rooms were always clean and big enough for our family even though we will not be returning to this hotel.

    5
« Wonderful and totally accommodating »

We could not ask for a better room or place to stay. Our room opens up into the pool area, with beautiful ammeneties including work out room with locker and showers, and a game room for the kids. The staff couldn't be more accommodating as there was nothing more that we could ask for that wasn't available to us. We will NOT be staying anyplace but here when we come to the area. Manager Peter, and David @ the front desk are tops in their respective fields, as is the cleaning staff who are thorough and professinal. Door leading to the pool is heavy duty so the noise is minimal and alarmed so that small children cannot open after certain hours, without parental knowledge. Truly a wonderful place to stay.

    5
    « Spotless »

I have stayed here several times when visiting the Hershey Fall Meet each October. Have never been disappointed. Staff, Housekeeping are all very thoughtful and accommodating. The hotel is a little older but very, very well kept. The lobby is really very nice. The rooms (I had a King) are updated as is the bathrooms which are very nice. Most importantly the whole place is spotless!

    4
    « Small room »

The hotel is very nice and if you do not need handicapped accessible room I am sure it would have been Excellent. The room was very small for my husband to walk around with a walker and if he was using a scooter he would not have been able to get around the room as all.

    5
    « Nice Hotel! »

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. Our visit was excellent in every way. The lobby was very nice and had multiple areas to just sit and relax and unwind. We had a king room and it was located on the "corner" which meant we had a window on one side and a balcony on the other outside wall. Our room was located on the parking lot side of the building and I would suggest requesting that side. We did not experience the other side, but there is a very busy road that could be noisy. It seems the hotel has recently been renovated. The carpets were new and the bathroom was very updated. The shower was very large. We did eat at the restaurant for dinner one evening and our food was good and portion size was nice. The staff was very helpful when needed. The pool area was very large. I would recommend a stay here if in the area. The facilities was priced fairly.

    3
    « last minute booking »

Decent rate for last minute booking. The room was actually a suite. It appeared to be well appointed, however the thermostat was not working. Could not get the temperature below 70 degrees. The window did not open, the bathroom could have been much cleaner. The bed was also extremely uncomfortable. The firmness of the mattress coupled with the roughness of the sheets....

    5
    « one day conference »

This hotel is very nice. The rooms are large and very clean. My room overlooked a large indoor pool. The hotel has a nice Irish Bar that is directly connected to the lobby. The hotel has free parking. This is a good value.

    3
    « Convenient »

The hotel was located in a very convenient area with an open entryway to the hotel that was impressive. An evening trip to the restaurant was very nice with a good burger accompanied by live entertainment. Breakfast was thankfully included, although very hectic. The hotel room was serviceable, but encountering two bugs, albeit harmless, was somewhat disturbing!

    « AGAIN....GREAT! »

This was my 2nd visit to this perfect hotel for our annual Hershey Park (10mins away) & Kitchen Kettle Village (30mins away) trip. This time we rented a family suite. Myself, wife, 3yr old son and brought my 2 teenage neices along. The family suite was huge. Much bigger then the hotel pictures showed. 2 large separate rooms. 2 ac units. Regular size bathroom. Tons of closet space. AGAIN check in was easy and pleasant. AGAIN the pool was perfect. AGAIN everything was clean. AGAIN staff was so nice. AGAIN the ice cream sundae station and pop corn station was perfect and fun for the kids. AGAIN soft batch cookies, coffee, tea and flavor water was in the lobby. AGAIN the restaurant on site had great food, happy hour deals for apps and drinks, and deals for hotel guest. AGAIN there breakfast buffet was great and inexpensive. SO AGAIN WE WILL RETURN!

    4
    « Dog Friendly »

Very nice Best Western, with a good restaurant. Hotel is dog friendly with reasonable charge for the dog. The hotel staff sent texts to us to make sure everything was going well. The room was quiet and a very nice size. The price was reasonable. We stop here every time we drive down south.

« Nice hotel near Hershey »

Hotel is fairly nice older full service hotel. The pool was great. The room was nice and spacious. On the third and final night we found ants near the refrigerator area... Near a semi opened package of cereal. Also bathroom door would not close completely. Front desk seemed concerned when we checked out. Decent value for area.

    5
« Best Best Western I've ever had the pleasure of staying at. »

Check in was smooth and easy. David, front desk, was especially friendly and knowledgeable. There were no questions he could not answer, and he knew me by name, first and last, the next time I walked by the front desk. The room was large and very clean and well stocked with supplies. I had no reason to contact the front desk other than to say what a great job all the employees were doing to make my stay exceptional.

    5
    « Hershey/Harrisburg Vacation »

BW is an upscale hotel that makes a stay lovely. We needed a suite and it was perfect as was the price. I would say it was a perfect place to stay for a family. The cost was far less than 2 separate rooms. The indoor pool would be a bonus for a rainy day with the kids.

« Great place to hold a Convention! »

Recently stayed at this hotel for the ITC (International Thunderbird Club) Convention September 6th to the 11th, 2016. Upon check in was told we would be in Room 147. It was a very clean room. Stayed in this room the first night and the noise of the traffic kept me awake from 3AM. In the morning went to desk and asked if we could be moved. Told me it was not a problem and to have everything packed in the room before the bus tour at 8:30AM. and the staff would be happy to move our belongings once the new room was cleaned. When we got back at 5:30PM stopped at the desk and got the new room number. The room was overlooking the atrium in the hotel lobby. Nice and clean room and super quiet. All of our belongings were moved and they even put our beverages in the refrigerator in the room. What great service! From check in to check out what a great hotel, great staff, great restaurant and great food. EVERYTHING about this hotel exceeded my expectations! Would definitely recommend staying here! Thanks for a great Convention in every way possible!

    « Hotel stay 9/16-17/16 »

Overall a very nice hotel. My HS reunion was being held here so staying here was very convenient. I found the staff to be very cordial and efficient. We had a buffet dinner for our Saturday event. The buffet was excellent. I was expecting the usual of "ok" but it was way beyond that. The rooms are very nice and the bed was comfortable. My room was probably coming to the end of its shelf life as far as the carpet and wall covering were concerned. Nonetheless, the room was very clean.

    5
    « Great overnight stay. »

The young lady at the front desk was very sweet and quickly checked us in. Upgraded our room without hesitation. The room was clean and had extra towels!! O'Riley's Irish Pub was very good. The bartender offered recommendations on the dark beer selection and was spot on. We will definitely stay here again.

« 5 Star Experience! Can't beat the customer service at this place »

We stayed here with family while attending the local RV Show and it has been an excellent experience. We decided on here because my brother and dad have several small dogs we were traveling with. Very dog friendly! Everyone had dogs so even if yours bark a bit no one seems to mind, we all just laughed and talked about it in halls as you make quick friends as dog lovers. Rooms were just as in pics on website. Clean, fresh, spacious. If you have dogs best to ask for ground floor, end of hall rooms. Easy to walk your dog and easy to get to n from car. I had made a room reservation error but they were so helpful and kind in fixing my reservation. Then when we arrived we asked for a room change to a end of hall and ground floor and they quickly accommodated as if it were no problem. Would HIGHLY recommend!

    5
    « Great Stay! »

It was a great stay from beginning to end. The front desk won the heart of my daughter with a Hershey bar upon check in. All the staff were extremely helpful with any question or request. The Irish Pub on site it was a really nice option for drinks and meals (everything we tried was really good). Even though the breakfast buffet was not "free" as other hotel chains provide, it was worth the cost with a large variety of food including gluten free. The kids enjoyed the pool and arcade. We bought our Hershey Park tickets from the front desk and it was not that far from the hotel. Even close enough to take advantage of a "preview time" the night before you plan on going. Our room was on the 3rd floor facing the lobby, it could be noisy during busy hours but nothing kept us awake and I am a very light sleeper. Our family will definitely stay here again when we return to this area.

    5
    « Extremely Friendly »

I reserved at this hotel in early September 2016 because of what it offered. Though a bit farther away from the airport, the price was definitely reasonable. Why I decided on this hotel was that it offered a free shuttle to and from the airport and it would allow my car to remain on the premises until my return in a few days. My flight was in the wee hours so I called and reserved my shuttle 48 hours in advance, as recommended when I booked. I am unfamiliar with the area and preferred "an expert driver" at this hour of the morning. From the person booking my reservation, to the person at the check-in desk, to my 1st shuttle driver taking me to the airport, to the 2nd shuttle driver that was waiting for me when I landed (I called at my connecting flight to tell them the expected time of arrival), I cannot express the pleasure it was to be treated with so much courtesy and professionalism. Their staff was a delight. As for the hotel, the lobby was elegant and the room was very clean and suitable for the night. If I have the opportunity, I would definitely stay here again.

    5
    « A delightful property »

Super large heated indoor pool, excellent Irish Pub, strongly recommend the pot roast. Fantastic beer selection. Comfortable lobby to conduct private business. Although the usual free BW breakfast was missing, the property offers a super buffet with a wide selection of breakfast offerings. If you are considering Hershey or Harrisburg this is the hotel for maximum comfort. The surrounding area well supports family vacations for all ages just minutes drive from the property

« Good location for vacationing »

We recently stayed here because we were attending a performance at the Giant Center. This location was perfect for that. I would recommend getting one of the larger rooms, we had one with a balcony near the stairs. Perfect for getting to our car. The décor is somewhat updated, but still hotel basic. We did have a microwave and fridge in the room which came in handy. Be aware that breakfast may not be included with the price of your room. Be sure to check. They do give you a discount in the restaurant if you're staying there.

    « Excellent »

Stayed here to unwind, from the busy life of NYC. This is an amazing hotel to stay, very courteous staff, excellent hygiene, beautiful decor. Will definitely visit again and recommend to friends and family!!

« Best Western Premiere Central »

Been to this hotel 3 times, staff is attentive, rooms are clean, food is great, conference rooms are in good shape, wifi and Internet work well. Exercise room and pool in good shape- plenty of parking- be careful if you run here as there are no close by running paths- ( at least desk clerks were not aware of one you're running on street)

    « Beyond my expectations »

I love to travel and finding a nice hotel at a reasonable rate is challenging. I had an overnight stay while attending an insurance conference. I was just thankful to have a room for the night as opposed to making the 2.5 hour drive. This location was amazing and everything was beyond my expectations. The room was cozy, classy with a hit of elegance. The staff was amazing, and quite helpful. The lobby set it apart from your typical 4 star lobby, they have complimentary beverages, such infused water, choice of teas, coffee, it was very neatly arranged. The water had a strawberries when I arrived and blueberries the next day. They are without doubt a hotel that believe in customer service, something that many locations have lowered the standard on. When I checked in, they gave me a Hershey bar with my room, that was a nice touch. It was not a miniature, a full Hershey bar. Everyone that checked in received one. I thought that was a nice touch. When I called to report late check in I was informed that they could send a shuttle to pick me up at the train station. I had no idea how I was going to transport from the station, my job told me to get an uber car. They were waiting for me when I arrived. I am usually good with names but I have to give credit to both the male driver that picked me up on Monday, the 22nd of August at 4:40 pm and the female that drove me back to the train station. Both were extremely nice and I enjoyed talking to them. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend anyone in the area to stay at this location, the price is great, the service is outstanding and the rooms are wonderful! Customer Service at it's finest and it felt good! They truly have something special. If they were a national chain, I would look for them every time I had to book a hotel. The staff even ask if you have a preference for your room. I like the top floor because I do not like anyone over my head and families were there visiting Hershey Park. I usually have to ask for a particular room first. Thank you Best Western Premier for making my stay great. By the way, they offer you 10% off your food from the restaurant, the Belgium waffles were great. I knew I was going to write a review for this location, people need to know 1st class customer service still exists.

    5
    « Wow-Excellent customer service »

I never write reviews but am an avid reader of reviews on TripAdvisor. This hotel and its staff, specifically Kim Thomas, the housekeeping manager went above and beyond for me. I left a valuable item at the hotel, thought it was gone forever; and in the end, I got it back in just a few days! The situation was professionally and personally handled and I felt cared for. On top of all this, the hot breakfast buffet (at $10/adult and $5/child), comfortable night's sleep, clean room, value for our money, and Hershey bars at check-in all contributed to a 5-star experience. Thank you to Kim and thank you Best Western! We know where we'll be staying every time we visit the Hershey area again.

« Amazing!! Awesome!! Highly Recommend. »

We were looking for a nice hotel, near Hersheypark, indoor pool (in case bad weather), pet friendly and served that breakfast on the property. BW Premier fit all our needs. Quick, fast and friendly check in. Nicole told me about a ice cream social they were having for the kids and gave me to passes for my daughters. Bonus! We wanted to check out the room so I went in and dropped my bags, I almost didnt leave! The room was so clean and updated, the beds were screaming "lay on me!" The ice cream for the kids was cute, they loved making there own sundae's. Me and the bf got ourselves a root beer float, yum! The kids did not hesitate to go in the pool, which was huge! I liked that there were plenty of chairs and towels and that the arcade was attached to the pool. There were some room that had a door to the pool, wish we knew about that before coming here. I should also mention the entry way to this hotel is also very pretty, just like the picture someone posted. The breakfast buffet was good, it consisted of 2 types of eggs, sausages and bacon, sausage biscuit and gravy, oatmeal, a few danishes, and different types of cereals, breads, yogurts.

    « Postive experience »

We stayed 8/27/16 & 8/28/16 and were extremely satisfied with room, the location to Hershey Park and overall attitude of employees. The indoor pool area was large and clean, we would have liked for it to open earlier to take a quick swim before venturing out for the day.

« End of the summer family getaway! »

The Hotel staff was very accommodating. The room itself was clean but the bathroom tub drained slowly. My family and I had a great time hanging by the pool and the drive to Hershey park was about 20mins away. Overall it was a good experience and I would entertain staying here again.

    « Not a Single Complaint »

The rooms were a good size and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the hotel itself was quiet. We asked for rooms away from the pool, elevator and ice machines and we were very pleased. There are washers and dryers next to the pool for travelers. The pool is inside the hotel and looked good. The Irish Pub restaurant right next to the hotel was excellent - a good choice of gluten-free items. We had the buffet and everything was fresh; service was very good. We used the coupon from the hotel for the buffet - a nice bonus. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

« family of four/end of summer trip to Hersheypark »

Overall the Hotel is very nice. the lobby is very attractive. the room was comfortable. Although the bathroom was a little dated, the shower pressure was excellent. The hotel and staff were inviting and friendly. With young children it was nice to see they had a 10pm quiet time policy and it was. Good value and clean, comfortable beds. Stayed in a 2 queen room that was adequate for our family. I would definitely stay here again. Alex and Dawn were exceptionally helpful.

« Great hotel with lots of room. »

Came with family of five. we were all able to stay in one room comfortably with their suites. very nice hotel, kids said it was "fancy." Had ice cream social at night for them for free, adults for 50 cents! Fantastic Irish resturant attached! Would come here again!

    « Beautiful Property »

This was our first stay at a premier property. The hotel was beautiful, rooms were beautiful. Many restaurants in the area. Beware though, the premier property does not offer free breakfast. This particular hotel charged $9.99 each for adults and $4.95 for children under 12 for a buffet. Could be pricey if you are traveling with a large group. I have heard some of them charge $14.99 for adults......Also the writeup says it is located off of I-81. In reality you have to travel approximately 5-6 miles off I-81.

« The best hotel stay ever ! »

This was one of our best stays at a hotel me and my family have ever had . Everything from the staff to the lobby to the rooms and the pool was perfect. And the restaurant that is on site was out of this world good ! We will definitely be back .

    « Third time....and just gets better & better! »

Found this hotel because of our twins middle school trip and have now stayed three times!! The staff is so friendly and show genuine concern if you have an issue or problem. The rooms are clean and well stocked with pillows, bath items and such. The indoor pool is huge and a nice added benefit. The only issue we did have that couldn't get fixed was upon making our reservation we requested a family suite right off the pool, but had a room on the 3rd floor. We did talk to the staff and they couldn't help but only because that room was already occupied. Note to self or you dear reader...worth it to show up early for a room off the pool area! Another issue happened where we had immediate attention and concern. We are still in communication as well! Our family's THANK YOU to all the staff you've done a great job again!!!

« Convenient Location and Friendly Reception »

We stayed here for two nights while visiting the Hershey attractions. This hotel is within 15 minutes of Hershey's Chocolate World and Hersheypark. Reception is very friendly and welcoming, the rooms are clean and equipped with a fridge, coffee and water are available in the lobby. We were rarely in the hotel but I believe I saw board games that were available for borrowing. What a great idea.

« Great place to stay! »

This is a great place to stay if your planning on spending your day at Hershey or even Lancaster. We definitely appreciated the complimentary 24/7 coffee! The elevators are fairly run down but that didn't impact our experience. Thanks for a good experience!

« Great lodging and dining experiences! »

I LOVED everything about my four day stay at this hotel. Attention was made to every detail. It is clean and very well laid out. I was there for a dog show but that was not always apparent because the layout was so well organized,

    « AMAZING! »

We were so impressed with this Hotel! Starting with check in...we were welcomed like family! The Atrium is bright and clean. Our room was immaculate and ready for our arrival. Each and every member of the staff always greeted us with a smile or an offer to help when we looked a bit lost. Our teens had a great time in the pool; they even got their Dad to go in...and he NEVER swims! Dad enjoyed it very much! The entire staff at the Irish Pub were also amazing!! We had two great meals during our stay. We travel to Hershey at least once a year; this will always be our place to stay!!

    « Great stay »

We are here now after a day at Hersheypark. This hotel is very nice. Check in was smooth, David at the front desk was very nice . Loved the Hershey bars - nice touch. Room is beautiful and more importantly clean. We enjoyed the pool and this will be our go to hotel when we visit Hershey. It is a few miles further than other hotels but so worth it.

    « Like a Hershey Property »

We had to change our vacation plans at the last minute and finding hotels with great ratings at an affordable rate near Hershey was a challenge! after searching and searching we found this hotel. rate was slightly higher than we wanted but we felt that it was totally worth it!!! free Hershey bars upon arrival , free ice cream Social for kids, discounts at their delicious attached restaurant/bar OReillys. had delicious dinner for 3 adults and 2 kids for under $100. Rooms were clean and quiet , indoor pool was clean and bright with skylights above for outside feel. Just 15-20 minutes from Hershey. only complaint is our vacation was too short. thank you best western and their sweet staff for making our only short vacation so wonderful !!!

A perfect place to stay and the hotel staff were most helpful in telling us about things to see and do in Harrisburg. We would definitely come again and wished we could stay longer. The breakfast was excellent and staff were very friendly. - everything was perfect! Room was lovely. Everything was spotless.

    « PHENOMENAL!! »

The Best Western Premier on East Park Drive in Harrisburg is phenomenal. The hotel itself is well-kept, the rooms are spacious and well furnished, the staff is incredibly friendly, and restaurant attached has an excellent breakfast buffet (which is just another perk perk, preceded by the Hershey bar that they give you upon check-in and the wonderful staff.) Whenever I am traveling to Harrisburg for work, this is the only place that I ever consider staying...and not only because it is incredibly convenient to the office am traveling to. The hotel itself is easy to get to as well as it is right off the highway and there are plenty of restaurants and stores in the vicinity. In the summer, be sure to plan ahead and book your room early because it is close enough to HersheyPark to sell out. Once, I made this mistake and had to book a hotel 1/4 mile down the road, and though it was a nice place, can't compare with this Best Western Premier.

« Friendly, Comfortable and Affordable - Highly Recommended »

I stayed at the Best Western Premier at the end of July 2016 while visiting Hershey park. (about 20min drive to Hershey Park) My friend booked the hotel, after shopping around we decided rather than book 2 separate rooms, we would get a suite since it cost less. We both had our children with us. The suite could comfortably sleep 6, maybe more if you got a cot. The room was clean and comfortable and central to the lobby, pool, etc. The staff at the hotel was spectacular. EVERYONE was so friendly and helpful. Every time I walked passed someone that was working (i.e. cleaning the floor or changing a lightbulb), they would stop what they were doing, smile and great us and asked if there was anything that we needed. (for REAL) In the afternoon there was free popcorn and ice-cream for the kids - a wonderful treat since it was a hot week. The restaurant on the premises was very good too. There was a very reasonable breakfast buffet and it had many choices. Dinner was good too. Even though it looked like the hotel was pretty full, parking was never a problem. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone

    « Absolutely fantastic! »

This hotel is nothing but perfection. I've stayed there twice now and have gotten the best service I could ever ask for. From the management to the front desk and to the restaurant, everything was perfect. Especially the bartenders Taylor and Jared and waiter Jason. They are down to earth GREAT people and made us laugh so much. I would recommend this hotel in a heart beat! It's gorgeous with an amazing buffet breakfast in the AM (which is delicious) and amazingly tasty food for dinner. I can not wait to visit again and stay here and continue to see the amazing staff!

« Nice Family Hotel, Frendly helpful Staff »

We stayed here in mid July for 4 days, mid week, wile we visited the area (Hershey/Gettysburg). We had our 2 teen age girls with us and they had a great time. The staff was helpful and very quick to respond to your every need. The hotel was clean and up to date with a friendly staff. we enjoyed the trip and the hotel was great and had a nice location for the area.

« Wonderful Pet Friendly Hotel with Comfy Beds »

We spent two nights at the Best Western Premier to visit Hershey Park. We brought our two kids and one dog. I am always concerned about finding a nice quality hotel that allows pets. Well this fit the bill. The lobby is beautiful and we were greeted with chocolate bars, ice cream sundaes, and popcorn when we arrived. We had a room with a king size bed and a queen sized sleeper sofa for the kids. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have experienced in a hotel. The hotel was clean, pet friendly, and we had a nice breakfast in the restaurant. The staff is very friendly. Suggestion to upgrade pillows (they were a bit small) and shower curtains (slightly small) to make it perfect, but I was extremely pleased with the hotel overall. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a hotel in that area. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Hershey Park.

    « A sleepless night »

Every year my family plans a vacation to Hershey Park and this year was no different. We recently stayed at the Best Western Premier in Harrisburg. We figured we stay at this particular hotel once again because we had such a great stay last year...the hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, the grounds are emaculent and the location is perfect. However and I mean However the bedding was horrible...We had a hard time getting a good night sleep. The mattress was lumpy and cheap. And the pillows was small ( airplane pillow small ). I'm kind of confused the primary reason for a hotel is to provide good service and a great night sleep...THAT'S WHAT YOU PAY FOR...We stayed at this hotel last year and did not have this issues. I explained my issue to the desk manager upon checkout ( Which she seemed shocked ) by stating we never receive complaints about our mattresses...I explained to her maybe it was this particular room...but she did express she was sorry. I do not know you changed the mattresses within a year's time but one thing I can say is BIG MISTAKE...People pay for a good nights sleep....

« It was a nice clean place, but the pool noise is too loud at night. »

I liked the hotel but we had an inside room with two little boys and the noise from the pool kept them up both nights until 10pm. They need to do something with the noise in the rooms from the pool. Maybe better curtains that block out the noise. Other than that we liked the hotel and thought it was a really nice place to stay.

« Great value for the price. »

I had a great time. They staff was wonderful, pleasant, professional and accommodating. The room was very clean and the price was affordable. The pool (nice size) , bar and restaurant food was also good. The hotel was close to shopping centers, tourist attractions and not too far from Hershey park. We had our family reunion there (family can from several different states) and we had a wonderful time.

    « Hidden gem »

I had the opportunity to stay at the hotel in late May 2016 to see my granddaughter attend her first prom in York, Pa. I no longer live in the area but decided to try the BW Central hotel. I was so surprised at how beautiful the lobby was and the staff were very pleasant. Staff at check in and the restaurant were fun and engaging. I think they must have done some renovations because the rooms were very clean. I would stay again in a heartbeat and very comfortable to tell others to do the same. Only a couple of suggestions: outdoor pool needed and larger gift shop area. Mark May 10-13, 2016 from Lake Wales Fl.

    « Love it »

« Great location and friendly, thoughtful staff! »

We've stayed at the Best Western Premier twice and had very enjoyable experiences both times, in fact my kids begged to go back! The pool is really the key feature for the kids, and even though it is packed at 9pm, it really is quiet by 10 when the pool closes. The chocolate bars and flavored water when you check in are an added bonus, especially after our 4+ hour car ride. The restaurant in the hotel is great for a drink and snacks for the kids and there is a Panera and grocery store right down the street. Hershey is only 10-15 minutes away and such as easy drive. In addition to the amenities and location, the staff is really wonderful. The front desk staff were helpful and after leaving a very special bunny blanket in our hotel room the general manager returned my phone call, looked for it himself and was just so thoughtful and considerate. He certainly went above and beyond his job trying to help a 6 year old reunite with her stuffed friend. Thank you! We'll have to go back to Hershey just to stay at the Best Western.

« Close to it All! »

One of my top 10...Beautiful, clean and great amenities. Very friendly staff around the clock. Came for a long weekend with the family. Close to everything...we visited Hershey Park, State Museum/Planetarium and the Civil War Museum. We checked in pretty late and enjoyed the on-site pub for dinner. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast at the pub. This is a MUST! We were so impressed, we went twice during our stay.

The Hotel was awesome! The front desk personnel - David, and the Guest Services Manager, Mariah, were so friendly and so helpful. Our room & bath were like being at home. The laundry room was very convenient. I recommend this Hotel highly and if ever in this area again I will indeed stay there!

    « Poor customer service »

I always look for a Best Western Hotel when traveling to other areas of the country. I didn't hesitate to book this hotel because of the reputation of the Best Western brand. This hotel does not live up to that reputation. While the lobby area is quite impressive, the restaurant on the property leaves a lot to be desired. We had to pay for breakfast ($10/pp) and waited 10 minutes to be served. We had to ask for refills on beverages and then ask for our check. The same happened at dinner. We were seated and waited 15 minutes for service. We were about to leave when the manager came over to apologize. Service did not get any better!! I know there is another Best Western in the vicinity and will definitely try it the next time.

Easy drive to Hershey Park, maybe 15 mins. Hotel was nice, rooms large Nice pool Laundry was clean Discount at restaurant Beds nice Had coffee, tea and water by front desk, cookies at night. Ice cream happy hour, free popcorn Had a room close to the highway, way too noisy , they offered to change our room but we had 4 people too much stuff to move. Ac went on and off every 4 mins very loud , they fixed it for second night was much better. Then third night it went crazy again. Nice hotel just ask for a front room if noise is a problem, The kids loved the pool Had a problem with the dryer not working, mgr took our clothes to have them dried for us. Every problem they offered to fix.

« One of the best groups fo people to work with »

The staff deserves a big high 5, they are one of the best groups to work with in putting together a conference or event. We have had the pleasure of working with them two times, and both times they delivered a stellar performance. If you are planning a conference or an event you will not be disappointed, great food, and as I mentioned, great staff, and just a great experience.

« Great hotel, close to Hershey- you can't beat the price and service! »

We stayed here in July of 2016 while visiting Hershey. You truly get service with a smile! The indoor pool area is great for kids and the complimentary ice cream sundaes and Hershey bars were a big hit! Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast at the restaurant was a good deal- 10 dollars for adults, 5 dollars for kids over 5- eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, yogurt, biscuits, cereal, fruit, French toast, etc. I would definitely stay here again!

« Just a bit better than adequate »

A nice hotel with some cosmetic flaws. In general it's clean and good service. Details of hotel could use updating like peeling wallpaper and dirty molding around tub but basically was ok, just not a brand new, spotless establishment. We were here for a 3-day weekend in July so maybe that's why the pool was jam packed every night but it's a nice indoor pool. Plenty of parking. Nice touches like free cookies in the lobby. A couple of Hershey chocolate bars upon check in (our first time in Hershey and the kids first chocolate they seen since arriving, it's a nice gesture) but considering I had 3 young kids I asked if I could possibly have a third, so it'd be one for each kid and I got a "only two per room" response and, as I walked away thinking how to explain 2/3 of a candy bar to my 6 year old, as an afterthought, the front desk clerk said ok and gave us another. It was kind of them but, I was surprised that they didn't just offer that right away but not a big deal. They do give out tokens to the kids that they can exchange for an ice cream, one each day, each day from 3-6pm. Unfortunately we were never at the hotel at that time and couldn't partake but that's nice too. WiFi is free and good in lobby but we (3 rooms total in my group) had trouble getting signal at all in our rooms. Perhaps some rooms are better than others? Plenty of nice pics online (which are accurate) so pics in this post are just of some of the aged hotel details mentioned above but rooms are clean and it's a comfortable stay.

« Clean and Reasonably Priced »

We stayed here before and after our flights out of the Harrisburg Airport and this was a great place to stay. They offer a free hotel shuttle and allowed us to park our car in the parking lot for the duration of the stay. The rooms are nice, but could use an update. I felt the rooms were a little darker and could use more lighting, however, my wife disagreed with me on that. If using the Harrisburg airport again in the future this would be a place we would definitely consider staying at.

« Great place to recharge after Hersheypark »

We spent 4 nights here while visiting Hersheypark with our two daughters. We came here after spending a couple of days in Amish country, and arrived later than we'd planned due to storms and traffic. First of all, the lobby was very welcoming when we arrived, with fresh coffee, hot water for tea, and iced water (with lemon, cucumber, or just plain) waiting across from the front desk. Check in was very smooth, and we were given 4 wooden tokens for ice cream, which is served in the lobby every afternoon from 3 to 6. (If you've used your tokens, it costs 50¢ port bowl. There's also free popcorn and fresh baked cookies.) We went to our room, and a neighboring room has a dog barking. I called the front desk, and they moved us to a different room no questions asked. The new room was immaculate, and had great air conditioning. I like to keep it cold when I'm sleeping, so this was perfect. The bed was very comfortable, and my wife and I slept better than we have in a long time. The shower had very good water pressure, and the water got nice and hot. The shower head had a nice relaxing spray pattern. The first day, we'd left our toothbrushes and my razor on the sink area, and we came back to find them nicely arranged on a little mat that housekeeping had brought in. Very thoughtful. One of my favorite things was the iHome clock radio with the iPhone dock. I was able to set an alarm with my favorite music to wake up. Worth mentioning is the hotel's quiet time policy. Between 10 pm and 10 am, guests are asked to be respectful and quiet in hallways so that people aren't disturbed. They shut down the pool and laundry areas to help keep noise down. It's very effective. I hope to come back here, great place to stay.

    « Awesome Facility ! »

After traveling for the past 10 days and staying in different hotels, it was refreshing to find a gem of a hotel ! The Staff was very friendly and attentive to every need. As soon you walk into the hotel lobby you are amazed how beautiful and very clean it is. Infused water and coffee is available right across from check-in. Workout room is very clean and modern with all new equipment. The pool area is ample and very clean. Overall the Hotel is a great place for family and conference venues. If I am ever in Harrisburg again this will be the first place I would be looking to make my reservation! Kudos to all your staff for an outstanding place. RH

« Now this is customer service, wow »

First, let me start by saying what a nice hotel this is, we thought we were on Disney property minus Mickey. The lobby big and impressive, lemon/cucumber water, coffee/tea set up for you complimentary. The fitness center, TOP NOTCH. Being a workout finatic/personal trainer this gym had everything you could ask for. New, first class equipment, weight machines and free weights, ab machine, fitness balls, towels, new water cooler, multiple TV's etc... When we we working out in the evening the worker who came to lock up because it was closing time said no rush, take your time I'll wait for you to finish, wonderful?? Room was spacious, clean and had anything we could need. OK, now on to the customer service. We arrived to a big mix up after hours of driving on our way home from Michigan it was late, we were exhausted. When I came to the desk to check in they said they didn't have our reservation they had us down for Monday and it was Wednesday. The girl at the desk said they had already charged our card because we were "no shows" and a room for the night would be $50 more then what we booked for. Of course I was so upset and in dismay. She preceeded to get us the operations manager Curtis Wilson along with another man who was wonderful as well I regret not getting his name. This is what Curtis and the other gentleman did for us. First they calmed us all down and assured they would handle this for us. They credited us for the "no show" charge, adjusted our rate for the night to the $50 lower rate that we had booked for, gave us 3 complimentary tickets for their $13 breakfast in the morning along with candy for my daughter. Curtis handed me his card and said please let me know if you need anything else. While Curtis and the great ladies at the desk resolved our issue and helped us so much, and quickly which was so wonderful because of how tired we were, the other gentleman so kindly chatted with my daughter asking her about our trip. I can't put my head on the pillow tonight, on their very comfortable bed I may add, without letting Trip Advisor know how impressed and grateful I am. I will also be calling corporate to give Curtis and his staff the accolades they well deserve. We will without a doubt recommend this hotel to friends and family and stay here on our trip to Hershey with friends this fall.

« best western conference center »

it wasn't with the money and the pub i would not recommend the food is not very good there and they are understaffed the outside appearance of the hotel looks good the walls very thin can hear next door neighbors and guests in hallways all parts of the night i didn't feel i got my moneys worth especially the noise level and beating on walls at all parts of the night

    4
« Request a room away from the highway side »

Beautiful hotel and the staff was excellent. My only complaint was my room was on the highway side which was noisy and the wall air conditioner was extremely noisy which drowned out the highway noise. My friend had a room across the hall which did not have the wall air conditioner unit which was much quieter, so I would request away from the highway side next time.

    « Nice hotel in Harrisburg/Hershey »

Very nice hotel in the Harrisburg/Hershey area. The lobby is beautiful and the pool area was also really nice. Our room was on the bottom floor and had a door leading out to it. We were concerned about that and the noise due to that, but there looked to be a 'quiet time' starting at 10 so noise was not an issue. The attached restaurant has a daily breakfast buffet for around $10 and gives quite a lot of food. The room itself was really nice, but could use some updating. Hershey is only about 10-15 miles away so it is pretty close. The highways can be a bit confusing though. Overall, enjoyed the stay.

« 2 parts, great and not so great »

1st, I cannot say enough great things about the staff during our stay. They were just wonderfully helpful and friendly. The place was really well kept and looks so nice, I couldn't believe I was in a Best Western (not meant to be offensive.) The pool was warm and well kept. Great back way to get to Hershey Park from here. Founds lots to do. 2nd, we woke up to ants on the cabinet holding the fridge and microwave. Gross but ants are also sneaky... Needless to say, we threw out our food items (closed, but still..) and empty trash and let the staff know so they could handle. They offered to switch rooms and compensated for the concern.

    « Budget hotel room »

I can't imagine how this hotel was rated the number 2 place to stay in Harrisburg on trip advisor. I am not a fan of best western hotels, but booked this hotel for a last minute business trip because it received a high trip advisor rating and was considered a "premier" best western. I was pleasantly surprised to see the lobby area which was decorated nice. The staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly and I was feeling optimistic as I checked in. I started feeling less optimistic once I walked past the lobby into the hallway because it looked worn and had a budget hotel feel. The venting and ice machine area looked shabby. I entered my room and it was clean but smelled "musty". I'm wondering if the rooms allowed smoking at one time. The rug had a large stain and my closet doors were falling off. The walls and furniture were worn, there was rust on the shower drain, and the bathroom needed to be updated. was definitely disappointed because I expected more after reading the high ratings on trip advisor and thought that a "premier" best western meant it was a higher class hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to people who are traveling for business or who adults who usually stay at nicer hotels. It is fine for families who are visiting hershey park and not spending a lot of time in their hotel room.

    3
« Great service only average rooms »

Great service and lobby looked very nice. Hallway and rooms were similar to budget hotel/ motel. My room had a large stain on the rug, closet door was falling off, and overall decor was worn and tired looking. Room smelled musty, so I am wondering if rooms allowed smoking in the past.

« In need of upgrades »

After delayed flights changed our plans we booked this hotel fairly last minute based on a high trip advisor rating. Although we were satisfied over all with our stay I don't believe it deserved so high an overall rating. We arrived around ten o clock at night and found the spacious parking lot fairly full. This hotel has a nice large lobby that looks quite cozy but is definitely dated. Front desk staff was very pleasant and welcoming and we appreciated the free Hershey chocolate bar they gave us upon check in. By the front desk there is a nice little area with complimentary coffee and tea. The hallways were clean and neat but again fairly dated. The room was large with a king bed, couch, desk, full washroom, mini fridge, etc. Some things had been redone, such as bedding. But again a lot of it needed a modern upgrade. The bed was VERY uncomfortable and someone must have been smoking weed in the next room because we kept getting the smell of weed coming through our vents! Gross. The pillows were also small and uncomfortable. The bathroom was exceptionally dated and in desperate need of an upgrade. The ceiling in the washroom was drop tile ceiling which is definitely not a good style for a humid washroom, especially over a shower. The shower head did not work well at all and definitely needed to be replaced. It had very little water pressure. Overall we weren't dissatisfied with the hotel but probably would try another location next time.

    « Comfortable, easy stay »

We booked this hotel based on the Trip Advisor reviews. Going to a concert at Hershey Stadium and didn't want a 2 hour ride back to Philly late at night. All the hotels right in Hershey were either completely booked or too expensive. The Best Western Premier was only 15 - 20 minutes away and a great price. Got in at almost midnight - easy check in, super clean & comfortable room. We had a room on the third floor, overlooking the lobby. Heard no noise at all. Breakfast in the restaurant was good, great service and very reasonable price. From booking to check out, this hotel was perfect.

« Very Nice hotel - 25 minutes from Hershey Park »

This hotel was very nice. The rooms were clean, and spacious. Our room had two queen beds, a desk, a side chair, a huge TV and a microwave and mini fridge. The hotel texted us a few minutes after we checked in to make sure the room was right and we didn't need anything. They texted again the next day to ask if everything was ok. Points for communication there. The hotel was a little off the beaten path, about 25 minutes from Hershey Park. We stayed in the back of the hotel and it was a little loud, with the road noises. Not sure how it would be in the front. However, I never heard any other guests, so it wasn't too bad. My only had two issues: 1) When entered from outside, if you don't come in the lobby, there are no signs telling you which door will lead to an elevator so that was a little annoying, but not major. 2) the web site says there is complementary water in the room. The way it was worded, or perhaps just the way I read it, I thought there would be more than one bottle of water in the room. In reality, it is really just one bottle of water. I thought that was a little deceiving. Overall, it was a good stay and we would stay here again.

    « What a place!! »

This place is beautiful!! The lobby alone blew us away; it's the best lobby that I have seen!! When you check in, they give you a Hershey chocolate bar!!!! They also offer popcorn and fruit water in the lobby. They were both very good!! We were there to visit Hershey Park and the hotel offers discounted tickets. The room was great and clean. The beds were very, very comfortable and overall a great place. We also ate at the onsite restaurant which was delish!! Great, great place!! I would stay there again 100%!!

« Great price for 8 miles from Hershey »

We wanted to be near Hershey but most hotels were outrageously priced. BEST WESTERN PREMIER The Central Hotel & Conference Center was just 8 miles away, a bit of a drive but well worth it. We liked the close proximity of Panera to the hotel when we were rushing to Hershey Park in the morning . The price was excellent for a beautiful suite which gave us parents a private bedroom with a door. The kids thought the hotel was "very fancy." All were made happy!

« We were very happy with our stay!!!! »

Beds were comfy, staff was helpful, pool was great, room was clean and spacious. Common areas clean and had a lot going on for families but if I hadn't come with my family I would have been just as satisfied. Restaurant was delish and prices reasonable. We will def be back when we visit Hershey Park again!!!

    « Staff was awesome!! »

Our experience at The Central was amazing. We went with 10 other family's for a tournament in Hershey. The staff was amazing at meeting our needs. Calvin, the maintenance guy, was especially kind to us and is great with people. Overall our experience at The Central was amazing.

« Good enough, not great »

My husband and I visited while passing through town. The room was comfortable enough and clean, nothing remarkable one way or another. The hotel offers many amenities of which we did not have time to avail ourselves. The lobby is spacious but a bit cluttered and the furniture was uncomfortable and not inviting. We went to have a drink in the bar and ended up taking it back to the lobby because the live music in the bar was so loud and obnoxious. Ultimately we had a good nights sleep and got on our way. We might stay again if passing through for one night but not longer.

« Great place to stay »

We stayed here when we went to Hershey Park. The rooms are nice and clean. The staff was great and the hotel is nicely decorated. We had one little issue in the restaurant when one of our entrees was brought out 10 minutes after the others and one entree was cold. But the food was good and the breakfast buffet was good as well. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the arcade. The only downside of that was that the pool doesn't open until 10am and checkout is at 11. We got around this by checking out then going to the pool and changing in the locker room (has showers) before going home. We will be staying here again.

    « Grandkids Bucket List »

Most pleasant stay and facility we've stayed in for a long time. #1.....the employee's are at the top. Cher was extremely concerned and helpful in any way she could make our stay more pleasant. As a whole the employee's made the Hotel #1 for us. #2.....the Hershey Bars are the best to settle down to after and long day of driving and of course it was a big hit to the grandkids.

« Favorite Hotel Near Hershey »

This is our favorite hotel when visiting Hershey. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The last time we stayed, we called for an extra blanket at 11pm and someone came right up. The rooms are always clean. The kids enjoy the indoor pool. We love the hearty breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant.

Very valuable hotel, with a 5 star appearance. Hotel restaurant/bar amazing service and selection, especially the $10 breakfast buffet. The location of the hotel is conveniently between Hershey Park and the downtown Harrisburg area.

    « Great Stay »

Two of us were very pleased staying here during our trip from Ohio to New York. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly. It was also very advantageous to have such a highly rated restaurant on the property.

« Went for DECA Competition »

I visited this hotel for my annual DECA competition which always took place in December. While I didn't actually stay at the hotel itself, I did have a great experience with this hotel while visiting. The competition took place in the conference center area of the hotel where most of my time was spent at. They had a speech and we did a written test which was followed by a role play competition. We then had lunch which was provided by the hotel. The lunch was delicious and the workers did a fine job refilling the buffet which was in the center of the lobby. There was pizza along with a salad bar and a really nice dessert bar as well. The Best Western also had a nice little store near the front desk that had all the essentials a traveler might need if they forgot an item. The lobby also had a business center that had four computers and a printer. The hotel also provided complimentary beverages including coffee, tea, and cucumber water. Best Western also had a pub and grill which I can't comment on. Overall, my experience at Best Western Premier in Harrisburg was excellent. The staff was very kind and helpful and the lunch was delicious and was of restaurant quality too. While I didn't experience the entire hotel, all the areas I was in were very clean and well kept. This included the conference center, the lobby, and the restrooms as well. The hallways leading to the rooms also appeared to be clean too. I also like how the lobby was laid out. The lobby has a bar in the center of it with lots of seating in the area. There were stairs leading into the center for easy access and there are also rooms that have a view of the lobby area. This hotel is perfect for anyone traveling to the Harrisburg and Hershey area. If I were to stay in Harrisburg, I would definitely choose this hotel. The service was excellent, the property was well kept, and the experience overall was very positive as well.

    « Wonderful Overnight Experience »

Stayed here while in town for a lacrosse tournament and had a great experience. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Staff was courteous. Indoor pool area was spacious and clean. Enjoyed breakfast and dinner at O'Reilly's Pub, too! Would definitely recommend and return on another visit to Harrisburg.

    « Hershey park visit »

Had a nice one night stay. The rooms were very spacious and generously sized beds. Request a bottom floor pool access room if possible. Got a Hershey's bar and ice cream when we checked in. Restaurant/ bar attached to hotel is a plus. The morning buffet was just right to hold us over at the park until 4 pm! The kids loved the indoor pool. I liked the price and close proximity to the park and other attractions. Definitely would stay there again.

    5
« Great bang for the buck! »

AAA+ experience. Very clean, spacious rooms, staff was super, dined at OReilly's 3 times, very pleased with each experience. Stayed here while visiting local attractions, For the price, you won't beat this motel anywhere.

    « 4.5 stars: Many improvements since July 2015 »

I gave the hotel 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4 based on the pool). This time I think they deserve 4.5, but I will round to 5 taking into account the options in the Harrisburg-Hershey area. I still think this is a best bet if visiting the park. Improvements since last year: rooms were cleaner and better maintained day to day after housekeeping, air conditioner was silent, common areas were well air conditioned (and it was over 90 degrees outside), new texting feature to make requests or report problems, pool still quite nice, O'Reilly's still a solid option for breakfast or a quick snack, staff all very nice and helpful, wi-fi very improved from last year. Still need to work on: security - I was still able to access a remote entry on the south side of the hotel around 10 pm even though it is supposed to be accessed only via key card after 8 pm, no free Hershey milk chocolate bar on check in this year (it was a cute touch last year and my daughter asked me why they didn't do it this year), pool was not quite as clean as last year (I had to use the skimmer to remove several large clumps of hair) but still clean overall. I will stay again the next time I am in the area to visit the park. It's only a 20 minute drive through the scenic countryside.

    « Great hotel »

My ten year old and I stayed here visiting old friends. This is by far the best hotel I've stayed at in Harrisburg. The hotel is beautiful on the inside, the restaurant is wonderful. Appetizers are half price every day from 4-6pm. Best fillet I've ever had and the best wait staff. The front desk is helpful and friendly. We had a room on the first floor that led out to the indoor pool. We liked it so much we extended our stay.

    « Nice hotel overall! »

We stayed at this hotel while visiting the sites in nearby Hershey. The staff was very nice and accommodating. They welcomed us with a free Hershey bar. They also have free popcorn n the afternoon and 50 cent Sundaes for the kiddos. Rooms nice and spacious. We stayed two nights here. Not one complaint, when I bathed my grandchildren on the second night, I had to clean out a big clump of hair from bathroom drain before I could bathe them. I do not mind the fact that sheets are not changed every night and actually appreciate this, but I do want my bathroom cleaned. Making sure the bathroom drain is free of hair should be a daily check for housekeeping!

    « One night stay »

We stayed here for one night on our North American driving tour coming from Washington and having been to Gettysburg. We arrived reasonably late but check in was smooth and easy. The rooms were of excellent quality as were the bathrooms and were really clean. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant/bar area and the quality of the food was very good. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel. One drawback my room was facing the nearby interstate and the traffic noise was quite loud through the night.

    « Very nice »

Best best Western I've stayed in. Very accommodating. The rooms was very clean. We had pool side rooms and you really couldn't hear the crowds at the pool. The room was more expensive one night than next which I thought was ridiculous

    « Executive »

I travel extensively and have stayed at many hotels. This hotel has a large pool, nice evening perks (sundaes for .50 as an example). There is no breakfast included in your price, but can be purchased for 9.99 plus tax. Rooms were a little out dated and could be cleaner. Staff was friendly. I had a problem with my original room. Was moved to another room. (Problem wasn't something minor like my bed was too hard, pillow too soft, etc.) Upon check out, I again discussed the situation with front desk. They had the General Manager call me personally. He not only addressed the issue, but he took charge and addressed my concerns and made it right. He is an asset to the company and a perfect GM! His caring attitude is what will make me stay at another Best Western.

    « Hershey Trip »

Great hotel with a short drive to Hershey. My kids loved the indoor pool which was perfect on those rainy days when we couldn't fully enjoy Hershey Park. Alex at the front desk was awesome!!! The service was good, with quick response. O'Reilly's was a great restaurant in the hotel where the kids enjoyed food and is adults enjoyed great beer and wine!!

« Great hotel close to Hershey Park »

We stayed here last night for a concert at Hershey Park. It is about 20 mins away with moderate traffic and roadwork. The lobby is pretty impressive. Check in was a breeze and they even gave us Hershey bard as a welcome gift. I booked through Expedia and requested a balcony, but didn't get it. No big deal. The room was big, clean, and comfy. After a day and night of doing nothing but walking and standing, the bed was a God send!! Sooooo comfy! The only recommendation I could give would be to make the smoking areas a bit more comfortable. I understand that they don't want people smoking by the doors, but a little shade and better seating would be nice. Maybe a table too

    « Summer Vacation »

Traveling with 3 families makes it hard to find a hotel that has the space to accommodate us. 2 of the families booked their 2 bedroom suites, which were so clean and spacious. We were impressed with checking in and seeing the Hershey themed lobby and receiving the Hershey bar. We also enjoyed the indoor pool, the restaurant on site, buffet breakfast each morning (was additional, but fairly priced and delicious), the comfortable rooms and the customer service. We will be booking next year and bringing more families.

    « Awesome Hotel »

This is the best hotel we've ever stayed at! We couldn't be happier with our stay here. In fact, we are planning on staying here again on our way back from NC to NH. Great room, food, pool, and game room!!! No complaints at all. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « The Meeting Place »

I have been to this hotel twice now with my job. Usually when you think of Best Westerns you think.....not a good place to stay. My mind has been changed. This hotel is a great place to have your next meeting. They have many conference rooms to accommodate many different meetings at one time. The staff here is great, they see to your every need. The rooms are pretty good sizes and clean. They have rooms that overlook the pool and they also have rooms that overlook the large lobby area. The hotel is just off Interstate 83 but you cannot hear much traffic noises. If you are in the Harrisburg area and need a place to hold your meeting, this is the place. Even if you don't have a meeting.....stay here!

    « Absolutely fantastic hotel »

I don't know how anyone could have a bad stay here, the hotel was beautiful and the room was spotless. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, I asked for a late check out and they had no problem with it. I had a single king room, and it was so nice. Great size, the bed was super comfy and the bathroom just amazing, loved the shower. I would definitely stay here again, the location is perfect if you don't want to stay right in town but still have plenty nearby.

    « better than I thought »

Growing up Best Western was the econo hotel, but they have upgraded this hotel. They were going to put me on the first floor and I asked to be moved to another floor...so they upgraded me to a 2 room suite!!!! Wow, it was so nice I literally jumped up and down on the bed! BUT there was a dog show going on and it smelt like DOG everywhere!!! Good thing I had my Zytec.

    « Good Value »

This property was a pleasant surprise. The value is about as good as you are going to get. I stayed one night on business. Only changed hotels as the rate went above other properties close by and equivalent for weekend and I was on tight work budget. The staff was friendly and helpful. The check in process easy. My room was modern and updated. Only complaints were location of plugs for phone charging near bed as the outlets near bed both were not functioning. There was also quite a bit of road noise though night in the room I was staying. Did not keep me awake but if you are light sleeper may be more annoying. I had dinner at the on site pub which was perfect. Did not use other services but appeared to have nice fitness facility and indoor pool. For the cost this would be a perfect choice for most anyone. Family vacationing at Hershey or individuals traveling for business. My meetings were at Hershey property and saved me almost 200 dollars staying here and I would say the accommodations were not inferior.

« Fantastic experience and value for the entire family & our friends for a great price! »

My 13 year old son was attending an event at Hershey Park with his string orchestra and we decided to make a weekend out of the event. We used Priceline to name our own price and landed the Best Western Premier by luck! The indoor pool & arcade was a hit with our young teens while the attached Irish Pub & Restaurant was a hit with us Mom's! The restaurant even had a live singer on Friday night which made it even more fun. We had rooms/suites overlooking the pool area and could keep an eye on the middle schoolers while still making them feel like they had alot of freedom. It was relatively close to Hershey Park so the drive was not too bad to get to the parks each day we were there. The rooms were clean and comfy! I would definitely stay here again!

    « Family Weekend »

We stayed at this hotel while visiting family over Father's Day. This hotel it an older hotel, but it is renovated, spacious, and clean. The front desk staff Is extremely helpful, and the housekeeping staff does an exceptional job keeping the rooms clean. Several sports teams were staying in this hotel during this weekend, and we never heard any extreme noise. Signs are posted at the elevators stating that after 10 p.m. is quiet time. Everyone adhered to this and the hotel was calm & quiet.

« Great vacation in Hershey! »

Our family of 4 stayed comfortably an entire week. My boys (10 and 13) appreciated having their own beds and my husband and I appreciated having our own room. The hotel is clean and much more reasonably priced than hotels in Hershey proper. It is only a 15-20 minute drive to Hershey attractions. The room was also nice and cool when we arrived at the hotel after a long hot day in the park. The only thing we missed was the complimentary breakfast that is common at comparable hotels. However you can get great muffins for a reasonable price at Chocolate World.

    5
    « Harrisburg family visit »

I was impressed with this hotel. Rooms very comfortable, Friendly staff. Hotel has a very nice resturant for breakfast that is reasonably priced. Pool is clean and of good size. This hotel will be considered for our next visit to Harrisburg.

    « It was okay »

We stayed a weekend, as we were for big event in Hershey. It's about 15 minutes from Hershey. Stayed on the 1st floor, with windows/door going out to pool. Every time we open the door to pool the crazy loud alarm would go off, and it will be going on till you close the door. It's great with little kids, but just for adults - it was quite irritating. We bought our tickets for Hershey park at the hotel with $13 discount. It was okay stay, free breakfast would make the stay even nicer. :-)

« Close Stay to Hershey without the High rates! »

We stayed at the Best Western Premier/Central Hotel during our recent trip to Hershey Park. The hotel, albeit a little older, is in great condition and very welcoming to weary travelers. The room was very clean and the service was very hospitable. The pool was also spotless and the hotel provided courtesy towels poolside for the guests. The Irish Pub next door makes fantastic Bangers & Mash/Shephards Pie so there's no need to go far for a good meal. Ample parking and courtesy coffee/fruit-infused drinks makes this hotel a nice alternative to the expensive options at Hershey Park. The drive to the park (east on Union Deposit Road) is a scenic smooth ride through the countryside so don't let the 9 mile drive discourage you. We loved our stay at the BW Premier and will be back the next time we crave chocolate!

    « Good interstate location »

This hotel is good for out of town guests, receptions, meetings and other events. The rooms are very clean, and updated, and the staff is pleasant. It is very convenient to the local Interstate (83) so it is an easy on/off. There are also other restaurants very close as well as grocery stores and some other shops.

« Caring staff, clean & exceptional hotel »

Thank you to all the staff for such helpful, caring service during our stay! Melody was so supportive as we were calling to book our reservation at such a late hour. Cher was just so kind and considerate making our stay seem as though we were truly at a home away from home! Our room was exceptional all the way from the cleanliness to comfort! Our time did not allow for us to use the pool or weight room although during a walk, we were able to visit each area. Again expectations were exceeded with such quality! I have only praise to say about this Best Western location! As we travel in the area again, this will be our choice hotel. Definitely above a 5 star rating!

    3
« First and Last Visit »

The hotel is beautiful, but the staff was not so great. During check in I spoke before the Guest Service Agent and when they did speak they didn't seem genuine or engaged. Also our room didn't get turned down so we didn't have any clean towels, wash cloths, etc available to us. Those items were brought up once requested but the room should have been clean. On the upside happy hour was pretty good, enough it took the bartender 5-8 minutes to acknowledge that I was at the bar. The wifi was slow as well.

    « Comfortable, pleasant stop »

Enjoyed our stay. Comfortable, clean, room. Steve, at check-in, was kind enough to give us a quiet room away from the bustling lobby. More pleasant lobby than many places, suitable for meeting with friends. Breakfast buffet at O'Reilly's was reasonable w nice variety and lovely fruit.

« Dawn and her staff made this a wonderful stay for Hershey Park visitors! »

This well-appointed property is located 15 easy minutes from Hershey park and offers a lot of outstanding amenities! Dawn, who spoiled us from the moment we arrived, made sure that everything was perfect, and no details were left out. Our suite was great, and the connecting restaurant was convenient and satisfactory. We check for bedbugs extensively in every hotel we visit, and we found NONE in our room! That was another great plus! We highly recommend this property, and we hope that you have a chance to meet Dawn!!!

From the moment my wife, my son and myself pulled into the parking lot we were very pleased. Staff and manager treated my son like he was a prince. From ice cream to popcorn to cookies. Room was clean and very cool. Pool was great. Can't say anything bad about the restaurant on site. Great food, great prices. We won a contest on Facebook. Me and my son for best smile. Sent us a $25 gift card and guess what? We are returning this August. This time with my family, 2 neices and grandma and grandpa are coming along. All in all people...STAY HERE!!!!

« Best Wester Premier - Harrisonburg is PREMIER »

This hotel has the best staff I have seen in years, from the front desk to the maintenance staff and everyone in-between! The service they provided was outstanding under very difficult circumstances -- a large dog show! The staff were friendly, accommodating and helpful. The rooms were clean, housekeeping was attentive and the restaurant food was very good and reasonably priced, and servers and hostesses friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Harrisburg area. I will definitely be back.

« Fabulous staff and service »

We stayed at the Best Western Premier for several days for a conference, and the staff and service all around were just excellent. From housekeeping to registration and from maintenance to the restaurant and banquet staff, people were very prompt and responsive to our needs. When one of our meetings ran a little long and we needed to reschedule our evening reception and supper, they made the necessary adjustments without a hitch.

« Excellent Service, Great Room! »

As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted at the front desk with a smile and great service. The lobby is very nice with a comfortable feeling. Really felt like a 4 or 5 star hotel instead of a 3 star. We also got a great deal via Hotel.com with average of $100 a night. Every day they have fresh coffee and flavored water with either Watermelon, Oranges/Lemons or Cucumber in the lobby. I'd say the restaurant is a 3.5 star but as a pub is closer to 5 star with a lot of Beer choices. Dinner was just ok. Loved the rooms. We had a king size bed with a couch and desk. A lot of room. The bathroom was very clean and nice. As we walked down the halls the Maids always were very Courteous. We had room service one day for breakfast and it was great. If you get a chance to stay here please do so. To me a 5 star hotel at 3 star price.

    « Wonderful Hotel »

This is our 'go to' hotel for the Harrisburg/Hershey area. We are season passholders for Hershey Park and travel to this area frequently throughout the year, this is where we always stay. The staff are warm and welcoming, the lobby is beautiful, the pool is never too crowded and having O'Reilly's Restaurant onsite is great. Their breakfast buffet is amazing and perfect for our picky 7 year old.

    5
« I wasn't expecting this hotel to be as nice as it was! »

I stayed for one night in May 2016 and found it to be an enjoyable experience. Cher helped me check in and get acquainted to the property. She was very nice and welcoming, as was the large and nicely decorated lobby, complete with orange-infused water. The room was clean, nice and comfortable. No issues with noise or any other concerns. The onsite pub was a real bonus! The food and drinks were great, and it was priced normally. Not hotel prices!

    5
    « BEAUTIFUL HOTEL »

This was probably one of the nicest Best Westerns I've stayed at. I stayed in a family suite which was perfect as my kids are now young adults and it is very difficult to find rooms for 5. I would definitely stay here again.

« Lodging for Hershey Park visit »

Choosing this hotel for a family Hershey Park visit was a solid choice! This was a very nice, clean and convenient place to stay. The staff was polite and helpful. The overall décor and ambiance was warm and welcoming. The food was good and priced pretty well too. There were three floors in the hotel and we stayed on the third with the window over the lobby area. The room we got had two queen size beds which accommodated two adults and three children (ages 6, and 10) comfortably. The room was clean and the bathroom was in good condition as well. I'm not sure of the television size but it was a good size for the room and it swiveled. The GSPCA National Dog Show took place inside the hotel during our stay. With that being said, I would double check when making reservations to see if any type of event is happening within the hotel; especially if one is allergic to any type of animal. I would definitely stay here again in the future as well as recommend it for anyone traveling to Hershey Park (about 18-20 mins away).

« GSPCA National Dog Show: Wonderful, helpful staff »

I was there for the national dog show for German Shorthaired Pointers. The staff was amazing, from the front desk, to the clean-up guy, to the restaurant, etc. Everyone was accommodating and pleasant. The rooms were pleasant and clean. The restaurant was nice with a good selection. My food was always good. The prices were reasonable especially with the discount for our group.

« Solid Hotel, good proximity to Harrisburg and Hershey »

We stayed at this hotel for one night with our dog and had a generally very good experience. The location to both Harrisburg and Hershey was ideal for us. Check-in went smoothly and we were even able to check-in early which was a huge plus for us. Room - Decently appointed and contained both a small refrigerator and microwave. Bed and Pillows - Certainly not the most comfortable but OK. Local amenities - There is a great little Irish Pub attached to the hotel with a respectable selection of drafts on tap. Staff was friendly and the food selection was decent. Apparently they do a buffet breakfast here that is very good but we didn't get to try it. Why didn't I give this hotel 5 stars? I was yelled at from across the parking lot by a surly maintenance employee who reprimanded me for disposing of my pet waste in the 'wrong' trash receptacle. This is a completely unnecessary way to treat a guest. The proper way to handle this would have been to walk over to me and calmly speak to me about it. I'm happy to oblige with hotel policies but I need to know about them first. I recommend the hotel include this information during the check-in process for those who have pets with them.

The staff at this hotel take customer service very seriously. The staff was courteous, pleasant and beyond helpful to ensure this was a wonderful week. The facilities are lovely and clean and the staff were very responsive to any request. Banquet food was the best I have had in years at an event as large as ours. The onsite restaurant had good food and it was reasonably priced. The grounds are well maintained and attractive. Management should be proud of the staff as they are some of the best in the business. Highly recommend this for any event large or small!!!

« A Nice Hotel with Great Staff »

I was here for a dog show and was tremendously impressed with the solicitousness and helpfulness of the staff. They extended themselves to ensure that everything was perfect for the guests. Unfortunately I became ill, but the front desk provided me written directions to the Urgent Care facility. The restaurant was fine, if a bit slow. Rooms were spacious and well cared for. It is a nice property with great service.

This hotel ensures that all of your needs are met and with a smile. It's clean, roomy, and comfortable. There is coffee all day and their water in the front reception area is delicious. The staff is caring and nice. They go out of their way for their customers and the hotel is very clean. I can't wait to stay there again. They are as welcoming as the Ritz.

Our company, Choice Marketing has been staying at this facility for serveral years now and we will be back again. Easy to get to and great facilities. They have a restuarant on site with good food. Only problem we had was for breakfast on Saturday morning. They had three bus loads of kids staying there and group leader told them they only had 33 (rooms), should have been about 100 kids. Buffet was swamped, but otherwise everything was OK.

« Stayed after a trip to hershey park »

Front desk was accomdating and nice Our room was located on the first floor. Was easy to get to. The beds are comfortable and clean. The decor was cute. Everything was clean in our room. Down the road there is a super market, liqpur store, panera bread, Dublin donuts, and other places in case you needed to get anything quickly. It was a 18 minute drive from hershey but felt shorter. The entrance and ambiance when you walk in is very relaxing and welcoming. Met all of our expectations for a quick one night stay

« Great hotel, bad timing »

We came for a week while my boyfriend had a training to take. It happened to be the week of a dog show, so they were booked pretty full with dogs everywhere. I like dogs, but inconsiderate owners left their dogs in the rooms and they'd whine or bark the whole time. When we arrived the check in line was 10 deep, so we went for dinner at O'Reilly's and cane back when the rush was over. Then they had lost our first reservation (we had two because we had to change rooms mid-week). I called to see if we needed to move and the booking person never called back, then we got moved to a room next to a barking dog and I requested a third floor to get away from the barking. The desk ladies were very helpful accommodating that request, and we got moved to the third floor overlooking the pool, which was much quieter, until kids came in to swim, and every time we came back to the room it smelled like chlorine. This is a beautiful hotel, clean, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. We just caught it on a bad week and I am curious who thought rooms where people could watch others swim was a good idea.

« Enjoyable Stay for Business Trip and Conference »

I recently attended a business trip with some fellow coworkers in Harrisburg area to attend a conference and this was the host hotel. I was very pleased with both the level of amenities and caliber of service my coworkers and I encountered while there. The hotel was very nice and did not fall short of any aspect of maintenance from what I observed. The staff I encountered were very well versed in customer service and seemed dedicated to ensuring guests were having an enjoyable stay. The bed was very comfortable and I found my room to be clean and with all the basic essential I might need including toiletries of shampoo, conditioner, face and body soap bars, and lotion. There was also a small in room single cup coffee/ tea maker and an iron which both came in handy. I enjoyed the free coffee and lemon water provided in the lobby area and although I did not attend I believe they also have a happy hour/ guest reception certain evenings to enjoy. Although I did not try out the gym, my other coworkers enjoyed utilizing the equipment. I did, however enjoy the pool which was a tad chilly but perfect for swimming laps. We did eat at O'Reilly's, the Irish Pub which is attached to the hotel the first night we arrive and found it to be convenient and an enjoyable dining experience. The hotel was responsible for catering our lunch for the conference and the food was excellent both days and the staff professional and friendly. Overall, I really had a nice stay here- made me almost forget I was there on business!

    « Great service! »

Stayed 2 nights and was very pleasantly surprised. The rooms were updated and clean. All of the people I dealt with from front desk to restaurant wait and host staff, to general manager Pete could not have been more accommodating. I asked for items that were not readily available and the folks went out of there way to obtain what I needed. The conference facilities were also great! I will gladly stay there again when visiting Harrisburg.

I booked 7 rooms and each person was very happy with the accommodations. The food from o'reillys is ok not great. I would recommend other local restaurants. The hotel is clean, staff is friendly and would stay again. The only complaint was the hotel must allow pets because I heard dogs barking in another room. I have pets but not a fan of staying at hotels that allow them.

    « Empty Promises »

We stayed here 2 nights within 5 days going to and coming from a relatives house. The first stay seemed to be going well until we found a large clump of black hair in the shower drain leading us to believe it wasn't cleaned. We found this just before departure and made the management aware of the issue. They seemed apologetic. They said they would give us some rewards points to help offset the cost of our future stay in 5 days. Also, they would place a goodie basket in our room. This appeased us as it seemed sincere so we decided to keep our reservation for the following week. When we arrived, the front desk made no mention of our previous stay, in fact they asked us if we had ever stayed at the hotel before. when they asked us what floor we preferred, i knew there was no basket waiting for us in the room. Once i took my daughter to the room i came back to the front desk to make them aware of the promises we were given. They had no idea what i was talking about and asked me who told us those things. They then said they would talk to him. On my way back to the room i passed that manager and i thought he would say something to me but just said "hi how are u doing today" in passing. About 20 minutes later, after passing him again in the hallway, he arrived at our door with a small goodie basket. The basket was very nice and we were appreciative. It just seemed to us that they told us those things when leaving just to get us out of there. I would think there would have been a note in the system that said to make sure you accommodate the guests the next time (5 days later) they are here. The Restaurant (Orielly's) let us down on food quality and cost, but the staff was amazing with out daughter.

    « Service with a smile »

When we got to the hotel there our registration which was made by someone else had the wrong dates, we did not have a room with a bath tub which had not been requested by the person who made the reservation. Both of these issues were handled expeditiously by the general manage. He apologized although the fault was not with the hotel. The service in the restaurant was amazing. On one occasion my wife asked if they had any cookies; our waitress brought my dessert but said nothing about my wife's request. Five minutes later, she arrived with freshly baked cookies; she said the had none so they baked some. When we were leaving she gave us a box with the rest of the cookie she baked as an apology for us having to wait. These are just examples of the exemplary service.

Stayed here on a trip back home, fairly close to the highway, with rooms that are a good value. Didn't use many of the amenities, but it looks like a great place at a reasonable price. Most (all?) rooms have fridges, and the breakfast was good.

    « Absolutely great!!! »

We stayed in the two room suite over-looking the lobby. The room was beautiful. Two queen beds, flat screen TV, extremely spacious and the other room was huge with a beautiful king bed and flat screen TV! Bathroom was clean, and a nice size. Everything you could possible want was at this hotel. We enjoyed O'Reilly's Restaurant/bar in the hotel. It was a Friday night and they had a guitar player singing at the bar. The servers and bartenders were exceptionally pleasant as was everyone in the entire hotel. The place was spotless. I look forward to coming back in the future. We enjoyed the indoor pool as well. Was looking for a Jacuzzi, but didn't see one. That may be the only thing they could add.

This hotel was amazing, I was completely surprised given the reasonable price. Room service options for very good and priced well, fitness center was clean and the pool area looked nice. The room was incredibly comfortable and had free wifi, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, with good coffee! I was sad that my trip wasn't longer (I only stayed one night). The bed was very comfortable, but that's normal for Best Westerns these days.

« Excellent venue & service for our National Dog Show »

Our room with a sliding glass door & enclosed patio (not many of them) was perfect for a rainy week (concrete with drain & covered by 2nd floor balcony). Generous sized rooms, mini fridge/micro. The ballroom was just big enough for the 3 rings, chairs for spectators, trophy/raffle tables. Lots of grass for walking the dogs. Indoor pool was huge, laundry worked well too. Such a bonus that free WiFi was available not only in the rooms, but throughout the hotel & ballrooms!!! The SERVICE here was outstanding...from check in to check out, they treated us like they wanted our business! Would absolutely return if ever in the area, dogs or not!

We attended a national dog show at this hotel, and everything was just perfect. It was very convenient inside and out, with easy access to parking everywhere and great stores nearby for all our needs. The staff was amazing--friendly, helpful, eager, and excellent at what they do.

    « Restaurant and bar. »

We stayed there during the DCA dog show for 6 nights. We did not have a car having come by train from the city, so we had to use the restaurant and bar for food and drinks during our stay. The bar was a disgrace, serving mixed drinks that were so light on the alcohol that they should have been called sodas!! Serious rip off there! The restaurant was not bad, but could have really done with some daily or seasonal specials. I believe it is a separate entity from the hotel - so perhaps management needs to take a look. The staff and the rooms were very nice and comfortable and the staff polite. Service was excellent.

We stopped at this hotel last November on our trip to Florida. We were so pleased that we decided to try it for a second time this April on our way back to Canada. If excellence needs a logo this hotel and its dedicated staff members should represent it. By the way, if you are greeted by Chelsea at the front desk give her our best regards. She is the perfect example of professional service. Breakfast is an option reasonably priced with high quality ingredients and service.

    « A different impression upstairs »

The Center is a lovely conference hotel -- the lobby is very welcoming, with a lodge-like appeal. The meeting rooms are typical of conference hotels, and there are plenty of them. The on-site pub was busy, offering daily specials and buffets. Best Western is slightly down the road from the main strip, where plenty of shopping and chain restaurants can be found... but is not safely walkable. If you are traveling without a car, The Center makes it comfortable to stay-put if necessary, while being close enough to run errands if you needed to. Your impression of this hotel would be 4 stars if you only attended the conference and stayed off-site. However, the room leak all the noise of the outside world, until all hours of the night. You'll see many reviews advising you to stay on the other side of the hotel. Take that advice if you can. The noise level was actually shocking, and I know we have all stayed in industrial park-type business hotels like this. Best Western is so aware of this problem, they provide white noise machines for guests. At the same time, they designate post 10pm as "quiet hours" in the lobby. Not so upstairs.

« We drove from Virgina Beach to go to Hersehy Park. »

We arrived at the hotel around 9:45 after a longer than expected drive from Virginia Beach. We had 2 starving teenagers and the girl at the front desk was nice enough to call the attached restaurant which was open till 10:00 to let them know we were going to be coming in to place an order. When we got into the restaurant the hostess told us to see the bartender to place our order which is where we find Matt, the most miserable employee ever! We told him the front desk had just called over to let them know we were placing an order and he shook his head no at us and said he knew nothing about it while walking away from us. Luckily for us, Jared happened out of the kitchen at this time and Matt asked him if he got the call about us ordering to which he replied, yes, I will make you up whatever you want with a smile on his face. Matt still refused to take our order, the hostess had to go into the kitchen to get Jared to come back out and take the order himself. Matt also refused to take our payment, Jared also had to do this also. More than complain about Matt, I write this review to give a big thank you to Jared who absolutely saved our night from being horrible and who did everything to make sure we were taken care of. Thank you Jared!!!

« Excellent Property for Conference »

Our professional association need a location in Harrisburg to have our yearly conference. After holding it downtown for many years, we moved it here. We were more than pleased. Meeting space was great, food was excellent and the staff was friendly, competent and efficient. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking was also a big plus compared to the paid garages downtown. This is an older property that is in good shape. The only place that the property shows it's age is the hallways to the rooms. Certainly not a issue at all.

« Friendly and decent area »

I made reservations over the phone because we were traveling with a small dog. The total cost of our stay quoted did not include the $20 pet fee. Not the end of the world, but I was under the impression that the total cost was the total cost (minus taxes and what not). For $200 you can stay at a decent hotel in the middle of New York City. The cost for a no-view hotel with a hallway and side entrance that reeks of smoke, I felt overcharged. The area is pretty decent, close to the highway and several places to eat. The service was very friendly and helpful. DO NOT GET A ROOM BY THE POOL! The pool doesn't close until 10:00pm, and for exhausted cross country drivers who needed to sleep right away and wake up super early, this did not make for a good full night's sleep. Not really the hotel's fault, but this felt like the punishment room for having a dog with us. Called the front desk asking for their pizza recommendations and she nailed it with Naples, who delivered directly to our room. The express check out was great (just call the front desk and say you're leaving) after getting the bill slipped under our door. Made for a quick and easy departure. The lobby is really beautiful. Didn't stay long enough to take advantage of any of the hotel's amenities.

    « Not so great. »

I chose this property because of all the positive reviews on tripadvisor. I was disappointed. The staff was friendly. The atrium was lovely. The room was not dirty but dingy looking. The sheets were clean but scratchy. The furniture was stained. I had a long trip ahead of me in the morning so I grabbed breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel. The eggs were barely warm, the home fries had some sort of greasy film on them and were not good at all. The coffee was ok and the toast was ok. The wait staff was very nice. I would not stay there again.

From the moment we walked in, Dawn took fabulous care of our bedraggled condition, we were immediately in a comfort zone. She provided welcome emotional support and had us in our room within minutes. The room was comfortable, spotless and nicely arranged. The next morning Ashley took up the reins at the front desk. She went so far over and above the norm that it was IMPRESSIVE. Between her and Randy we were provided transportation to and from downtown, locker rooms to change in, a comfortable place to wait while recharging cell phones, a variety of refreshments and last but not least, a shuttle to the airport. The staff IS the finest I have seen worldwide!

I highly recommend this property! We had a block of rooms for our high school lacrosse players and also the parents that came to watch. We wanted a separate dinner for the players away from the families and Tim in sales was very accommodating. They set up a wonderful buffet that the boys and coaches really enjoyed. The parents also enjoyed a great dinner at the hotels restaurant, O'Reillys. So on top of having excellent customer service the hotel was very nice and extremely clean. There is no doubt that if we are back in this area again we will definitely be staying at this Best Western.

    « Excellent experience BUT... »

The lobby of this hotel is spectacular. It's truly impressive. When we first arrived the front desk staff were AMAZING! They were professional, polite, friendly and made us feel appreciated and welcome. Our room was clean and smelled nice but then I noticed that our easy chair was spotted with stains that appeared to be body fluids. I immediately went to the front desk and brought the issue to their attention. The petite blonde staff member acted completely put out by my problem. When she suggested giving us a new room, she was annoyed when I explained to her that we did not have the time at that moment to pack up our belongings and move to another room because we were on a tight schedule. I explained that we could do it later, when we came back to the hotel. She irritatingly explained to me that we needed to vacate the room so she could resell it! I then suggested she remove the filthy chair and replace it with a clean one while we were out. Problem solved or so we thought. When we were returned to our room several hours later. I noticed that it was the same chair (because of the stains on the arm). They had simply flipped over the cushion chair. I was disgusted. I again, brought the issue to the front desk's attention. The housekeeping manager was immediately in our room to look at the chair and then had it removed immediately. She was very professional and apologetic and gave us free coupons for the breakfast buffet. The rest of our stay was uneventful. I must say that even with all of the positive interactions with the staff, the filthy chair and awful service from one staff member really dampened our entire stay. I'm still shocked and appalled by the way we were treated.

I thought the hotel was great! It was clean and there were lots of in-room amenities that I appreciated. Everyone on the staff was very pleasant and cheerful. Room Service was only a $3.00 up-charge so it was nice having breakfast in my room. It was also a very short distance into the city. Free parking, free WI-FI, free bottled water in-room and free coffee all day in the lobby. Made my business trip very enjoyable.

« No frills gold mine if you don't mind no frills. »

I really like this place, it is simple, clean and convenient. But it lacks the "nice" or the "wow" factor. Well, let me take that back. The wow is in the administration. Pete the GM is great. The staff he has working for him in management are all about making anything possible. I had a recent string of unforeseens in my stay and I called to talk about it and the whole night was taken off my bill Great customer service! The facility is blah. It's a paradise waiting to be discovered. For example, walk into the Bar/Pub restaurant. The decor is something from a 1970's sitcom covered in paneling and tall bar stools. The hipsters they have working in there are more about texting than serving. It could use a rehaul and a new menu. It hasn't been forced to change by competition so it just stays blah. Ive been coming here for 6 years and no significant change has taken place that I can see. The lobby here is a big, spacious, gold mine of possibility. But the decor is just not exciting. The Christmas lights in the ceiling have been the most significant thing Ive seen happen there. Problematic is that the hotel rooms look into the lobby so all the noise of the lobby knocks on the windows of the guest rooms. Not sure what they lobby should be but right now the little computer use it gets is not spectacular. There is no WOW. The rooms are the same, they lack WoW. Go next door to the Fairfield Inn and compare the rooms there to the rooms here. For the same price Fairfield will give you bright, clean and here you will get blah, clean. I really like this hotel, despite what I am complaining about. It is simple. It is clean. But it lacks wow. So, best asset is that the admin is working hard to make every trip a win. The staff around the hotel in housekeeping and grounds are really great. The place is super clean. But it you want wow or bright or pretty it is not here. It is simple, clean and functional. Sheraton is near by but it is too big. BW is just the right size. Fairfield is nearby and its got bright colors and modern decor but its too small. Best Western is the right size, no frills, great staff and well priced. Enjoy the stay.

    « Best Wedding Venue »

Choosing this hotel for my reception was one of the best decision I made during wedding planning. The entire hotel was extremely attentive to our every need and made sure that everything went smoothly. Everyone went out of their way to make it the best night ever. After the reception, they kept the restaurant open later than normal just because we had a large group still celebrating long after the reception was over. I've had so many people tell me how great the food was and how large the portions were and I absolutely agree with them. My cake maker also said this was one of the best venues he ever worked with. They were a well oiled machine and had a person designated to help him set up. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wedding reception!!

« No complimentary breakfast, clean hotel »

The hotel facilities were very good overall. We have no complaints in this matter. The only thing we missed was not having a complimentary breakfast included in the price of the room. I understand that they have a restaurant on the premise but for 2 people, this adds another $20 to the overnight stay. The room is already expensive with no breakfast.

    « Traveling with children »

This hotel is PERFECT for travel with children. My family (2 adults and 2 kids under 6) stayed at this hotel over spring break. We requested adjoining rooms with another couple we were traveling with (also traveling with two small children) and the hotel fixed us up. We'd put the kids to bed with a movie at night and play board games in the other room. Our room overlooked the pool, which could get loud, but not at night, so no big deal. The pool was great, but a bit cold. The rooms have everything you'd need and were very clean. The best part was the staff. They were very helpful and SO FRIENDLY! From the front desk to housekeeping, they went out of their way to talk to us and ask us about our trip and make recommendations for places to take the kids. There was some construction going on down the hall from our room, but the only reason I knew about it was because I saw the tools and other equipment. No noise or construction workers wondering about. Can't say enough good things about this place!

« Excellent location for area attractions »

The hotel is attractive & the guest rooms comfortable. The staff at reception were professional & accommodating. It is convenient to Hershey & the Amish community. The hotel amenities were adequate. The restaurant offered many options for a buffet breakfast. The Restaurant service was also good.

« Nice place to stay... »

Affordable and you definitely get your money's worth. We had a pool side room and it was great as we have friends with smaller children who of course wanted to swim. We could all hang out in pool area with access right to rooms. I highly recommend this perk if your party will be swimming. Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. Quiet time at 10pm is strictly enforced and we were very appreciative of that. Here's a tip feel free to quietly hang out in the lobby. The front desk has board games and guests are permitted to hang there all night. We had an enjoyable stay. Be sure to check out O'Reilly's Pub while there and seek out Jarod. Great server and bartender!!!!

« Nice Hotel, Great Location and Amazing Restaurant »

We went for the Farm show earlier this year. The hotel is just a few minutes from the highway with a beautiful, welcoming lobby full of good cookies, fruit and infused water. More than enough to keep fellow travelers with children happy as their crew checked in. The room was the norm, our King Suite room had the road view. Clean all around, nothing needed, everything worked well and was fine. We ate at the restaurant on site twice, once due to hunger and the other largely in part to a great first impression. It was good, attentive service and really really fresh, good food. No wonder it's popular with the locals. Breakfast isn't included but you can pay the discounted price when you make the reservation. Also at the restaurant on site, well worth the $9 with a hefty buffet and beverage service. I'm more of a fruit & waffle person but DH is more the egg and meat guy and he left full with no complaints as did I. Perks: Clean pool area with a nice sized heated pool & connecting hot tub. There is a game room, fitness room, laundry and free wifi that works without a hassle. The staff are friendly and the shuttle drivers can take you where you need to go or have you follow them if you're going the same way. Typical above and beyond PA courtesy and politeness - endearing and friendly. Great stay, nice hotel. Would stay here again without hesitation.

Enjoyed the overnight stay with my adult children and grand children. The pool kept them busy and happy, tired them out, and we all slept well! Breakfast buffet the following a.m. cannot be beat for the price, assortment and quality. We will go out of our way to stay at this hotel when we are in the area next time. Sad to leave.........

We stayed at this hotel for only one night for a get away, Our room was upgraded and it was exceptional. All the staff was friendly and exceptional. The hotel was very clean and very reasonable. It is close to many areas of shopping and entertainment. This was one of the finest Best Western hotels we've stayed and would do so again!

« Amazing Staff, venue, and Food »

My husband and I chose to have our ceremony and reception here in March 2016. The event coordinator, Erica, was extremely helpful and accommodating. The staff was very professional and friendly. The rooms were very clean and comfortable to stay in. The food was amazing. We have already recommended others to get married here! This venue made an already special day above and beyond what I dreamed of.

« Motels and Traveling with a pet »

Expect to pay more and receive less. We now feel like when we travel with our pet we do not get to select where our room is or often the type of room that can be available to us. Often the room is smelly with disinfectant which affects my allergies..

« Beautiful Place with Great Service »

We were just passing through and wanted to find someplace to just spend the night. We checked tripadvisor and found this hotel at a reasonable price. When we arrived we were greeted by Steve at the front desk. He was extremely friendly, helpful, and kind. We had a few questions about the types of rooms available and Steve explained all of the options available and provided us with a great room. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The Lobby is beautiful and elegant. We would highly recommend staying here.

« Annual Hershey Trip with Hubby »

My husband and I travel to Hershey at least once year for the PIAA high school state championships. This time it was for basketball and this was a relatively last minute trip. We rarely stay in Hershey because the hotels are too expensive, and this hotel in Harrisburg was a short drive from Hershey. This was my first time in a long time staying at a Best Western. We had never been to this part of Harrisburg, but there were several other hotels and restaurants close by. The lobby was very nicely decorated and the room was quite comfortable (particularly the fluffy pillows and number of pillows). We also liked the hotel and microwave in the room. While it is starting to show its age a bit, I was pleased with the amenities for the one night. One thing I noted was some dirt on the sink, but it was minor...nothing really to be upset about, It may have been something that fell from the ceiling, it was just a speck. When I booked the hotel, I thought it was in downtown Harrisburg, but I'm glad that it wasn't because the parking was complimentary. Our room was overlooking the lobby, which was different. So without going to the lobby we had no idea what the weather was like. We also paid at check-in, also different, but I was paying cash so I had no complaints. Probably the best part of the stay was the breakfast buffet in the morning. Though it wasn't free, it was extensive, with all the typical tasty hot breakfast items (2 types of scrambled eggs-with and without cheese, bacon, french toast with hot syrup, sausage gravy and biscuits, oatmeal with toppings) and continental cold items (fruits, yogurt, cold cereals, danish, donuts). It includes the drinks, which is also a perk. The breakfast area is in the restaurant, so there wasn't a concern about finding a seat. Overall, this was a very good hotel to stay in. We would definitely return again.

    « Good Value »

Large room with comfortable king bed and sofa for less than $100. Clean bathroom. Large, lovely lobby. Dog friendly with lots of green space for walks. Our room was on the first floor and near the door so it was easy to take the dog out. Free parking. No free breakfast but restaurant attached to hotel. Breakfast was good. Dinner was average.

    « Good Value »

We stayed at the Best Western on our trip home from Florida in January. It's conveniently located on I 83 close to I 81 and pet friendly, we had our chocolate lab with us on this trip. It was only his 2nd hotel visit and better suited than his first stay at the Comfort Inn on the way down. Nicey appointed rooms with comfortable beds and good amenities, breakfast was enough to start our next day. We thought the location next to the Interstate would be loud, but we all slept well including our dog.

    « Great Conference Site »

I recently stayed while attending a conference. The room was clean and well stocked with the needed amenities. The coffee they serve is very good and having flavored ice water available at all times is delightful! We were treated wonderful by the staff and they were all very helpful. The only downside was the road noise from 83; but requesting an interior room would fix that.

    « Stay here »

Came here for a one-night stay from Chicago, I had a co ple meetings in the area. Requested a King size bed when I made my reservation. When I went to the front desk they told me all the rooms with King beds were taken. So they put me in the family suite instead! It had a room with the King bed and flat screen to the left, and another section with two queen beds and another flat screen. It also was on the first floor so I could walk right out my back door to the indoor pool. The room was enormous for one person They easily could've given me a queen bed but instead, I got this upgrade for free. Well done, will definitely stay here in the future.

    « Fair to middling »

I expected a bit more but it wasn't awful. The coffee in the lobby was welcome when I would come in from the cold each evening, too bad it was only two nights. Bed was decently comfortable but room service was spotty. Sometimes great and sometimes pretty bad. Good water pressure in the shower. Their "quiet time" starting at 10 PM was blown to pieces by some kind of party where they were howling about 1:00 AM. The breakfast buffet was comped and enough to fuel me for the day, avoid the melons, they were soured. I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again but I won't avoid it either.

« Good Conference Hotel in Harrisburg »

Haven't been to this hotel in over 10 years. I only stay in hotels in Harrisburg for business and to hold conference/workshops for teachers. I've been to them all -- some not as good as they used to be and some too expensive for me. This Best Western used to be a Sheraton and is at least 30 years old. The sleeping rooms have been upgraded with refrigerator and microwave in all rooms. The meeting facilities were very nice and furniture was in good condition. The food -- we had banquet food and ate in the restaurant -- was better than average for a hotel and for the price. More choices with lighter menus would be good for group meals. Overall, for the price the quality was very, very good. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating and quick to fulfill requests -- as a meeting planner, if the food is good and the hotel staff help me out when I need help -- I go back. I'll definitely go back to this Best Western.

We recently hosted a seminar with over 150 people at the Best Western Premier and it was fantastic! The sales team and staff took care of every detail perfectly. Food was excellent, room was very comfortable and our customers were extremely pleased. We already booked our next event and are looking forward to working with such a professional team again.

    « Awesome hotel »

This was by far our favorite hotel me and my family ever stayed at. The lobby is spacious and beautiful with lots of cozy chairs, couches, tables, tvs, computers, and even a bar. We stayed in room 211 which had a gorgeous view of the indoor pool and we loved it. The mattress and pillows in our room was very comfortable. The pool is large and inviting. Off the pool area is dressing rooms with showers, an arcade for the kids, and a big fitness room with very modern equipment. Even though the hotel was busy and wehad occupants in the rooms next to us.....you could not hear them. Also, they have an Irish pub with lots of good food and many different ales and laguers right in the hotel. The only thing i wish they would change is that they would offer some type of free breakfast but i will say it is very close to places to eat my favorite being the waffle house.

« Friendly, helpful staff; nice clean motel »

We spent the night recently at this motel. We found it to be a great value. We stayed at this motel the night before we caught the Amtrak into New York City. The motel allowed us to park our car in their lot for four nights while we were gone. On top of that, the motel shuttle took us to the Amtrak station and picked us up when we returned. We greatly appreciated that service. The front desk staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.

« Surprisingly Nice for a Best Western »

I joined my husband in Harrisburg this past weekend for a Music Conference at the Best Western Premier. I wasn't expecting much...my previous experiences at Best Western's led me to believe that I shouldn't expect much except a clean place to sleep for the night. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a stylish room with a comfy bed, and nicer than expected bathroom (though it is still just a shower, no tub, but the shower was oversized with good water pressure.) The hotel itself had a large, welcoming lobby and an Irish pub serving better-than-average food, with very friendly service and an enormous selection of beers. The layout of the rooms is a bit odd - our window overlooked the lobby, with no direct window to the outdoors (the lobby has enormous windows, so you do get sunlight, but you must keep your curtains fully drawn for any privacy.) I imagine it would get noisy if you wanted to take a 3pm nap and there was a conference going on. As for us, heading to bed at midnight, everything was quiet and peaceful.

« This hotel spoils you after staying someplace else »

Other hotels will have to raise the bar to match the service, quality and comfort that I expereinced. Plan on coming back this summer for a longer stay. Highly recommend this Best Western for pleasure or business.

    « Quick-Sight »

The place was really good. The front desk, cleaning staff, service overall, the breakfast (included in the room price) and the Pub exceeded any hotel price) I have ever stayed in. Overall the B/W Premier in Harrisburg is a winner.

    « Great stay! »

I had a business trip to Harrisburg, found a good deal at this hotel, and it was very close to the capital. A beautiful hotel, an exceedingly comfortable room with many amenities and a very helpful staff. I asked about a TV schedule and it was delivered to my room, I wondered why I couldn't connect to WiFi and they sent someone to check on the router. This is a classy hotel at a reasonable rate and I will definitely stay there when visiting the capital. I would just say to the hotel clerk, if you offer a free breakfast coupon to a guest at check-in, make sure the next guest receives the same amenity especially if they overhear and ask for it.

« Team Summer Hoops Tourney »

We had 3 teams stay here for the USJN Hershey tournament last summer. All positive feedback from the families. The hotel accommodated a group dinner buffet after a long day of games, and the food and service were phenomenal. The full restaurant was also great for our extended stay and hungry athletic girls. Tim S, Central's group coordinator, was very flexible and easy to work with .. solid customer service!

My husband and I attended the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg. This was the second time we stayed in this hotel. The rooms are clean and attractively decorated. « We won't stay anywhere else in Harrisburg »

My friend and I stayed at the Central Hotel while in town for the Great American Outdoor Show. After the experience we had, we will be booking a room here in the future. As you walk in the front door, you are greeted by the beautifully decorated lobby. Fresh coffee and water were always available in the lobby. Our room was spacious, clean and looks to have been updated recently. We were pleased with the 10pm "quiet time". This was much appreciated after bad experiences in other hotels in Harrisburg. The hotel offered a complimentary shuttle bus to the show, which was also much appreciated. Every staff member we encountered was friendly. O'Reilly's Pub, located inside the hotel, was a special treat. The complimentary breakfast was much more than we could have ever expected. Eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, fresh fruit and much more. We also ate (and drank) at the pub each night. There was no reason to go elsewhere. The food was fantastic and the beer selection was amazing. When you go to O'Reilly's, I hope you have the pleasure of meeting Victor. His personality and friendliness will make you smile, no matter what kind of day you are having. He made me smile and laugh even before I had my first cup of coffee. The Central Hotel went out of there was to make our stay memorable. We definitely got more than our money's worth. We are already looking forward to staying here again next year.

« A Wonderful Stay At The Best Western Premier »

Let me start by saying how sorry I am that this took so long to be placed on tripadvisor. I chose this hotel because the one we normally stay at was booked up. I went onto tripadvisor and the reviews on this hotel were good so I thought we'd take a chance. Upon our late arrival I had set the refrigerator on low to keep things cold and all night long it made a banging and clanging noise which made it impossible to get a decent nights sleep. We also set the temperature in the room for the air conditioner to go on but to our surprise we woke up in the middle of the night hot due to the air conditioner not working. So to say the least we did not have a good nights rest. In the morning my husband just wanted to leave since he did not sleep well that night. We were hungry so we decided to have breakfast first and have it brought to the room so we could get ready to leave. We were not expecting much but boy to our surprise the omelet we ordered was amazing and my husband stated it was the best omelet he had ever tasted. I also called down to the front desk and spoke to Amanda to let her know of our situation with the refrigerator and the air conditioner she was very apologetic and offered us the breakfast on them. No sooner did I hang up with Amanda that our phone rang and it was the hotel Manager Peter he apologized for our inconvenience and he made an adequate compensation towards our stay. Maintenance was sent to our room to look at the refrigerator and the air conditioner after his inspection he then left and came back to our room with the engineering manager George with another refrigerator and a brand new air conditioner. We were on our way out for business and George assured us not to worry all would be fine upon our return. When we returned later that day the room was cold the refrigerator was working quietly and we also found a plate of cookies that they make at the hotel waiting for us with a note from George hoping our stay would be more enjoyable and if we needed anything to let him know. I have never had that happen before not at any of the upscale hotels we have ever stayed at. I also want to say that I met with Peter the hotel manager to say thank you for everything he was so pleasant and apologetic that he even handed me a hand written card expressing how sorry he was for our inconvenience and if we needed anything to let him know. He even gave us a voucher to use in their restaurant. My husband at that time was out getting the car and when I handed him this note he was so taken back by this that he had to go inside the hotel to met this gentleman. My husband stated to me that he had never stayed in a hotel where the management and the staff were making customer service their number one priority and this hand written note proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt. As I state we have stayed in many upscale hotels but we have never been treated as well as we were by this hotel and by the management and staff. They really strive to make their guests feel welcome and happy with their stay. We also went down to met with the chef that cooked our omelet to let him know it was wonderful and we also had another one the next day it was that good. The hotel is very well cared for and our room was clean and the grounds outside are kept up with decorations for the holiday which at that time was Halloween. We will definitely stay here again we have found ourselves a new home away from home. Thank you to all that made our stay as wonderful as it was. Again I am so sorry it took so long to write my review.

« Switched my room please.. »

We've stayed here for business various times and at check in, I asked for a quiet room, away from any road noise since I am a light sleeper. I was told that I'd have to take the room he had ready that there was nothing else. Needless to say, at 5 AM I felt like the bed was in the middle of Rt 83! Thank heavens, asking the staff the next day, I was moved to a quiet inside room. NO road noise. We like staying here, the breakfast buffet is great. Next stay I know exactly where I want my room.

    5
« Wonderful staff, clean rooms »

The staff is polite and friendly, the rooms always clean. It is close to the interstate and close to many attractions in the area. The pool is clean and well maintained and the lobby is lovely. Their free coffee is always hot and fresh and good quality. For a moderately price hotel you can't go wrong.

    « Staff is exceptional »

I attended a local event at the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex and this hotel was in a great location for me. It has a wonderful lobby bar area, a breakfast buffet, free WiFi, great dinner menu at the in-house restaurant, and happy hour at the sports bar. I can not say enough about the professionalism of the staff. They were so helpful and knowledgeable. I stay in hotels frequently for work and for personal trips and this one ranks high. It will always be my first choice in the Harrisburg area.

    3
« Beautiful lobby, great pool, best pancakes I've ever had. »

The staff (front desk, restaurant and maintenance) are all friendly, warm and very helpful. The restaurant is average for dinner, but serves the best breakfast I've had in a hotel (ordered from the menu). The pancakes still haunt my dreams! The room had a number of maintenance issues, which were promptly addressed by the hotel as much as possible. I would definitely book an upgraded room for my next stay.

    « Stop in Harrisburg »

Nice hotel near the highway (I-81). Very practical, with a (Irsh) restaurant and a large swimming pool. The service is good. The rooms are clean. After a one-day driving, it is an excellent place to relax, staying at the hotel. Everything is accessible. My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The breakfast is typical: nothing special.

    3
« Beware if your room faces the lobby »

This hotel has very nice updated rooms and for the most part, nice staff (beware the food manager if you are planning a group meeting...I saw him being rude to the conference staff a couple of times. You don't testily announce from a distance for all to hear that you need to talk about the counts for a meal). The one thing that was a problem with this hotel is that many of the rooms have windows that face the lobby, and the noise just goes straight up to the rooms. There are several signs posted at the hotel on the floors that say "quiet hours begin at 10", but the problem is not in the rooms/halls, it's in the lobby.

    5
« Great hotel and location »

We've stayed here twice and both experiences were great. Rooms and hotel are clean. Great deals on the price. Free parking. About 15 minutes from hershey park but also very close to everything in the Lancaster area. Right off the highway. Very family friendly. Large indoor pool and game room too. They have different activities and themes in the large lobby. Popcorn machine, ice cream sundaes and more. Restaurant attached has breakfast buffet and a bar with a ton of beers on tap. Really enjoyed this hotel. This is not your typical Best Western.

    « Wonderful! »

Hands down, the best hotel I've ever stayed! Helpful and friendly staff. Cozy and well kept rooms. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Also, very easy to get to. The wait staff at the Irish Pub attatched to the hotel makes you feel a part of their family. I can't wait to come back!

    « Amazing time! »

We booked this hotel minutes before arriving and were beyond pleased. My son raved how it was the nicest hotel he's stayed at and he's traveled a lot. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The pool felt very warm and perfect! The staff was very kind and accommodating. The restaurant had a very yummy breakfast buffet for a good price. We were very impressed with the hotel and had a friend go a few weeks later. We will definitely be back next time to go to Hershey Park.

    « Nice facility »

Attended a conference here this past weekend. Hotel is not too far off the PA turnpike. Near some local shopping. Free parking. They have an onsite restaurant. Banquet food was rather good. Rooms clean and nice size. Only thing I did not like was the room service dirty dishes that sat in the hallway all weekend.

    « Great Staff! »

Stayed at this hotel during a winter storm in the area, and couldn't have been happier! Staff was outstanding, and the rooms were clean and comfortable! On the day we were originally scheduled to leave, the staff was out cleaning off all the cars, helping people out. Would not hesitate to stay here again in the future! Thank you for making our storm stay a pleasant one!

« Great service and food! »

My group occasionally holds meetings at the Best Western Premier in Harrisburg. Today we had lunch and dinner catered and the food was awesome! Everyone commented on the Italian buffet. Our attendant, Kristy, was very attentive and she has a wonderful, friendly personality. We have a few people with dietary restrictions. They were accommodated with no complaint and Kristy made sure to double check with each of them to be sure they received the right meals (that's not always been the case at other hotels). I just checked into my comfortable, clean room. I am pleased to say I have no complaints about this hotel or the staff. The employees have been friendly and helpful. I look forward to our next meeting here.

    « Pleasant complimentary upgrade »

I stayed at the BW Premier for two nights in December while visiting family in the Harrisburg area. I was told the shuttle could be arranged from the airport simply by calling before my arrival. Unfortunately, when I phoned the shuttle wasn't available. After securing other transportation the front desk manager agreed to upgrade my room due to the inconvenience. I was charged twice on my credit card. After 4 plus weeks the hotel management resolved the issue. My accommodations were satisfactory. Even with the mishap, I wouldn't hesitate staying there.

    « Spoke Too Soon »

Stayed here back in October and planned a wonderful review. I spoke too soon. Of the four couples who stayed here (in our group) only 1 couple did NOT have extra charges placed on his/her credit card. Each of the extra charges were traced back to this hotel - - - for NON-hotel expenses. Luckily my credit card company knows my spending habits and called me as soon as they detected "unusual" usage. It is presumed that someone on their staff* used my C.C. number for Liquor, Gas & Cigarettes. *Or someone directly related to their staff, who was given my C.C. info While the credit card company confirmed this (and notified local authorities) NO one from the hotel has gotten back to us with an apology. I spoke to them directly to report this (as did the other members of our travel group) and, to date, NO follow-up from them.

« Not Premiere but clean and tidy »

Our room was clean and tidy but quite dated. Curtains not on the track, very visible patches on the ceiling, loud heating/cooling system etc. I wouldn't consider this a "premiere" property as I know of many other offerings that I would book instead now.

Best Western Premier has great rooms at very reasonable prices. Staff is always friendly and makes you feel welcome. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The indoor pool is open every day until 10 p.m. and a great attraction for our children. The hotel is situated within a short drive from the outlets and Hershey Park. Many restaurants within a close driving range.

    « Best Western Premier »

The overall experience was great! There was a game room, a fitness center, and best of all, my room was connected to the indoor heated pool. Some things were a little rusty, but I'm also a clean freak so that might be why. One thing I didn't like was that my room was connected to the room next door. But I think it'd be great if it was a big group of friends who wanted to stay here together but live in separate rooms.

This hotel is a nice and very clean place to stay. Staff was excellent taking care or our heating problems asap. Will stay again at a Best Western. We also liked the fact that we could get our meals right there at the Restaurant at the hotel. very good meals. Liked the extra mirror on the side wall to put my makeup on and I am going out to buy one for my own home. Will stay again here. Thanks.

« Great Instalation GALA do to their Hospitality »

This was our initial Installation and Awards program. We had a lot riding on the event as staff. Even though we had checked out the venue and had a sense of confidence in how they would perform, they exceeded our expectations and were great to work with throughout. Food was outstanding! Hot and tasty and our guests had plenty. Their facilities were great. Best of all was the staff who bent over backward to answer all our stupid questions and meet every little need.

    « Excellent Service »

Our company uses these location a few times per year and we were weary at first merely because it is a Best Western. But I will tell you, we have always had excellent service, the parking lot is clean and safe, the catering is excellent (especially the Roast Beef), the staff is pleasant, the bar/lobby area is warm, quaint and inviting and the rooms leave nothing desired. I would definitely recommend this facility.

This hotel is very clean and the staff are always so friendly. I stay at this hotel twice a year and I have never been disappointed. In October when I stay I have been able to enjoy the wonderful breakfast bar the restaurant O'Riellys offers that is inside the hotel. I have also enjoyed dinner there as well and have always enjoyed the food.

« Welcome to a great Best Western...the best I have been to »

After driving all day from Maine , we stopped here during a rainy night. The reception was really nice...front desk very hospitable, the room was clean and the bed was comfy...the food delicious and the pet policy was really reasonable. This was a conference center so it was busy, busy..but I never felt looked over. The pool was nice and the lobby spectacular. Can't find anything wrong...we loved the stay.

« Extremely Pleased All the Way Around with This Hotel »

We decided to take short family trip to Hershey, but we did not want to pay the Hershey hotel prices. Therefore, we saw this Harrisburg hotel online, and we decided to book it based on previous Tripadvisor reviews (I always do my homework before booking a hotel). The hotel, lobby, rooms and staff/customer service was very good to excellent. The indoor pool was very large and clean with plenty of chairs and tables around the pool. We even brought our dog who is about 35 pounds. We were pleasantly surprised the hotel did not charge extra for our pet, but we had to stay in a "pet friendly" room, which sometimes and be smelly, but this was certainly not the case at this hotel. The room was very clean, lovely and it looked like it was recently renovated. The room was on the first floor near an exit door, which allowed us to take our dog outside easily. The price of the room was very good. The restaurant is a nice, large Irish-type restaurant and bar, and we had breakfast there and it was good. The only negative was that the restaurant was a bit slow, but the staff and restaurant itself was very nice, so if you are in a rush for breakfast, pass on this restaurant. The drive to Hershey was about 11 miles, but it was not bad since most of the drive was highway. After a fun day at Hershey Park, we went to the Civil War Museum in Harrisburg the following day, and we all were blown away by the quality of the museum. Our entire trip was an awesome experience all the way around, and we would definitely go back to Best Western Premier again.

« GREAT place to stay!!! »

We stayed for three nights over the New Year Holiday and had a great time! The employees are friendly and helpful...they made our stay very pleasant! The rooms are very clean and well-kept! We had a great breakfast in the dining room two mornings and had room service one morning and had dinner on New Year's Eve in the Dining Room...the food was GREAT! We even enjoyed relaxing in the ambiance of the lobby with the beautiful Christmas Tree and lights. The girls loved the indoor pool! If I had one complaint (and this has nothing to do with the hotel - but the people who were staying there...) is that there were a lot of children running around without parents. (Why is it that people do not make their children behave when they are in public?) I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

« Great stop over location »

My kids and I travel through Harrisburg on our way to see my parents in VA once a year or so. We always stay at this hotel as a stopping point and have never been disappointed. For the price, it is extremely nice. Beautiful lobby, free water and coffee, nice indoor pool, clean and well-sized rooms. Staff is nice and while the breakfast buffet isn't free for adults ($8.95), it is for kids, and it is good food, not hotel junky breakfast. It is also conveniently located off the highway. I highly recommend this hotel.

« Run down room, unclean »

This is one of the few times I felt that TA reviews had let me down. Overall, this hotel ranks far below what I expected from a BW Premier. We have stayed at BW and BW Plus properties before, and even the non-Premier and non-Plus branded properties were *far* nicer than this. The only "Premier" thing about this location was the lobby, which was quite nice. Otherwise, the common areas and rooms taken into account, I've stayed at nicer Red Roof Inns. I would never choose to stay at this location again. For specifics that lead me to state the above, let me first address the room itself: there were extensive areas of patched water damage in two places on the ceiling of the room, and peeling paint below one of them in the corner with chips of paint readily visible on the carpeting below. A sign outside the elevator indicated they are replacing the roof, but finding peeling paint and paint chips on the lamp and carpet is completely unacceptable, as this tells me the floors and fixtures have not been cleaned recently. There was what appeared to be a blood stain on the patterned throw placed on one of the beds, along with some unidentified orange-ish food-like material on that throw as well. Completely icky, as that is right on the bed you sleep on. The chair in the room was also stained with some kind of unidentifiable white material (gag). Loose handle on the odd dresser/fridge combo, missing cover on the heat/AC unit. Overall, the room felt dated, unkempt and unclean. Lots of deferred maintenance here. In the bathroom, the entire things was tiny and incredibly dated. You couldn't turn the tub/shower all the way to the shower setting without a horrible screaming noise from the pipes, and there was another stain that looked like blood on the upper part of the shower curtain as well (the part they don't commonly change), as well as a white swath of staining/gunk on the wall just above the towel bar. You were looking directly at this when you walked in, and why this wouldn't have been cleaned I cannot fathom. The sink didn't drain properly either, despite playing with the handle for the stopper (and come to think of it, who puts a residential handle on a hotel sink anyways?!). In the common areas, the hallway carpet was incredibly worn and discolored/faded, the elevators old, the doors to the rooms painted metal doors that did little to dampen sound, no privacy lock on the room door handle, just the old u-shaped throw latch where someone can open the door a couple inches before it stops them - and that wasn't even fully screwed into the frame, so it wasn't secure either. Not a safe feeling had I been traveling alone. In the evening, there were kids playing in the 3rd floor meeting rooms, and many adults (10+) hanging out drinking in the hallway outside of them. We couldn't even see the signs to determine which way to turn for our room when we got off the elevator. The pool area was huge, but there was some kind of hockey tournament going on in town and I think it might have ranked as the single loudest place I've even been. The front desk did say security was patrolling the building, and it did quiet down a little after 10pm (posted quiet hours) but it was definitely not the high-quality, peaceful experience I would expect from such a highly rated "premier" hotel. Our view out the window of our room was of a perpendicular portion of the building (in other words, a portion of the building actually overlapped our window a short ways out), and there were huge cobwebs visible due to the external lighting on the front of the building. The lights on that adjacent portion of the building also made it impossible to darken our room for a good nights sleep. The hotel laundry is actually part of the arcade, with no place to sit while doing laundry (I should note that the hotel map indicated the laundry room was separate from the arcade, but this is inaccurate) and you cannot access the laundry without going through the pool area or the dressing room, your choice. What an incredibly odd setup. With the 10+ boys occupying the arcade while I was trying to start laundry, this was wuite possibly the worst and most uncomfortable setup I have ever seen. All in all, a dismal stay and one I would never, ever repeat.

    « Very nice »

My husband and I stayed on New Years Eve and had a great stay. The lobby is grand and the front desk staff gave us a good first impression. The on site restaurant has Happy Hour 5-7pm each night, with 1/2 price apps and $3 well drinks. Our room was on the 3rd floor, thankfully it was very quiet despite Rt. 83 being next to it. The room, while tastefully decorated in modern patterns/colors, could use a little upgrading, such as a new shower and the couch looked a little dingy. I'm very particular though, so most people probably would think they were fine. Overall, great room and hotel. There was a hockey group staying there, but we had no noise near our room from them, just while walking in the halls. The pool was very crowded at 8pm when we checked, so we did not use it. In the morning, we ate at the restaurant's breakfast buffet. Very good service and good value for the buffet.

    « Great Two-Bedroom Suite »

We greatly enjoyed the two-bedroom suite for our extended family. Although we would have appreciated a second bathroom in the room, we managed okay without it. The microwave and small refrigerator were quite handy, and the kids enjoyed the view of the courtyard from our room. The hotel is only 15 minutes from Chocolate World in Hershey and 7 minutes from the National Civil War Museum, and convenient location was a huge plus.

    « 4.5 actually but a great place »

This hotel was so much better than I expected out of a Best Western. The lobby is beautiful, the room they gave us was very nice (after also giving a free upgrade to a suite), and it was close to many restaurants including Oreilly's. They lost .5 due to their pool situation. They claim its a heated pool but I'd call it luke-warm at best. The there is no hot tub and the room the pool was in was chilly also. This was a great downer since the pool was such a selling point for the hotel.

« Great rooms and Wonderful Catering »

We had the opportunity to take a group of over 250 and stay at this Best Western overnight. In addition, we also held a banquet at the facility for all 250 students in the Central Ballroom. We had excellent service during the banquet - the catering manager was very polite and welcoming, and stayed throughout the visit. The catering staff worked on Christmas day in order to help us hold our banquet. They were outstanding! I would certainly stay here again, and would most definitely use the catering services. An outstanding stay!

    « An Absolute Gem »

The positive reviews already on TripAdvisor are well-deserved. The Best Western Premier in Harrisburg is everything that you can ask of a hotel. First impression; the front desk staff was very welcoming. Before we even checked in, they offered us coffee, water, etc. On my online reservation, I requested a larger room, if available, to accommodate our family of four. We were given a "family suite." This is an amazing two-sided room with a king bed on one side and two queens on the other. PLENTY of space for our family to be comfortable. The gentleman at registration also gave us a run down of the hotel's amenities as well as discounts available at O'Reilly's Pub attached to the hotel. My kids swam in the pool which was clean and nice. There were plenty of lounge chairs and table surrounding the indoor pool. Most importantly about the pool; the area was well-ventilated. You're not overwhelmed by the smell of chlorine. When checking out, we were again greeted by friendly staff at the desk. He asked what our plans were for the day, where we were from, etc. Before departing, we had a great breakfast at the pub and the discount was substantial. Overall, I would return to this property in a minute. The rooms are updated, beds comfortable, bathroom amenities nice. Most importantly, the staff takes pride in their hotel and their careers. Kudos to ownership and management.

    « weekend getaway »

We stayed here for a long weekend to visit friends who were stationed at Carlisle Army base. We took in Hershey park also. Great price for a suite. Suite was clean spacious and updated. We had a problem with the room safe and someone came up right away to fix it. We did have our smoke detector low battery alarm go off in the middle of the night but that was quickly resolved by me yanking out the battery. Staff was friendly. Would stay here again.

    « Business as usual »

I'm sorry but I do not remember names but I had to get this out there so everyone knew. We stayed and had a business meeting at this hotel for 3 days and what a great experience. There was a gentleman by the name of Larry who was more than willing to help out. He was kind enough to make copies of several packets for me even while juggling his lunch. There was an exceptionally nice hispanic gentleman that was more than willing to help while handling our food service for both days. One of my colleagues is lactose intolerant and we were having pizza. He was nice enough to get her something else for her lunch without even a blink of an eye. He had a great sense of humor and awesome!

« Good for Harrisburg, But Not Categorically Good »

I selected this hotel based on its high rating on TripAdvisor. Apparently, a large number of other guests have enjoyed staying there. Having stayed in many hotels around the world, this hotel fell short in cleanliness. The room had a foul odor and there were areas of the bathroom where you could see the floor had not been properly mopped in some time. If I were to stay in this area again, especially if it were for more than a night, I might consider renting a furnished rental rather than staying in a hotel. On a positive note, the bed was fairly comfortable, and the restaurant staff were on point and very friendly. The breakfast buffet was a good value.

« Surprising Staff and Hotel »

I had just had major dental surgery prior to my business trip which I was warned by my significant other to postpone due to my drug intake and inability to eat anything solid. Being the retired Marine that I am I thought no problem and went. I didn't know what to expect of the accommodations, but I was immediately impressed with the appearance of the hotel. Then how quickly the staff was able to supply everyone with their room keys. Once in the room I just knew it was going to be tight, but that was a surprise also. Now here I was trying to eat with what they had to offer, but was starving myself after a day not wanting to make waves. I asked one hotel staff during the second day of my stay and it was as if I was the President of the United States from then on of my stay, which actually brought tears to my eyes. While the staff made my heart smile each day in their efforts to ensure that I had something that I could easily consume to the point at times I felt they might have changed the overall menu at times in order to accommodate my meals. To say the least I was immediately provided the best care in my meals from then on and didn't want to leave. Having traveled over the road for more than twenty years as an active duty Marine staying in some of the best places of lodging this by far was the top, and I thought my 4yrs stay in Hawaii couldn't be topped. Any hotel could do what they offered in the way of a place to eat and sleep, but their staff was the deal breaker. Their staff made me feel as if I was on a cruise ship. I left there not wanting to leave, while hoping that I could come back again shortly. But life being what it is along with school and just my family life it has happened yet. The wait staff is among the best in 20yrs of military travel along with another 20yrs over the road travels as a professional transporter. I actually love this hotel and their staff just made it that much better especially their wait staff. Ray Branch, Retired U.S. Marine

Great hotel, only 15 minutes from all the activity in Hershey. Beautiful lobby and updated rooms. Large in-door pool was very nice but the water was very cold. Lunch in the bar/lounge was very good. Disappointed that it stopped serving food at 11 pm on Saturday night. Otherwise great place.

« Good place to stay »

This is a standard Best Western, well maintained and equipped. The room is clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom equipped with a magnified mirror. The lighting is the one area that could use improvement - the room is very dim, particularly difficult if you try to work. The desk staff was particularly accommodating during this stay, which was much appreciated.

    « Expected Better »

I would have expected better of a hotel that was designated as a place to stay for a hockey tournament. The service in the restaurant was horrible, we were told they were understaffed. When we entered the restaurant there was only one other party there. We ordered and received our appetizer promptly. Then we waited for 45 minutes before I finally asked when we could expect our order. We were told, "They're working on it." Ten minutes later we received cold burgers and french fries that tasted like cardboard. The manager came over to ask how everything was. He gave us the meal "on the house." I would have rather paid and had a better meal. We left our room early for a hockey game and expected that our room would be cleaned by the time we returned in the early afternoon, it was not. We left the room for a couple of more hours, upon return at 3:30 p.m. our room still was not cleaned. I called and asked if we could expect service, "Absolutely!" was the answer I received. We left for another hockey game and returned to a room that STILL was not cleaned, it was now 10 p.m. I called again and left the room. We returned an hour later and found that clean towels had been placed on the counter in the bathroom, that was the extent of the cleaning. Hockey games often require you to get up pretty early so we were thankful for the hotel's policy of "Quiet Time" starting at 10 p.m. Unfortunately, we had to call several times about noise in the lobby area after 11:30 p.m. (Our room overlooked the lobby area.) The manager approached me at checkout to say they were going to reduce the cost of the previous night's stay by 50% to compensate for the noise. The compensation was nice but a good night's sleep would have been better! All in all, I would not recommend this hotel to family or friends, nor would I stay there again in the future.

    « Great Hockey Weekend »

Our team stayed at the hotel for Thanksgiving weekend along with several other teams. The hotel had hockey kids everywhere. The staff could not have done a better job with that many kids and parents in the hotel. They had a room just for knee hockey so the kids has something to do. The hallways were quiet and if there was a issue it was taken care of right away. The rooms were clean and the staff was very eager to help with any issue. GREAT JOB BEST WESTERN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

« My Experience - Superb and Appreciated! »

While attending a Women's Retreat in November 2015, I must say the most impressive element of my experience was such intimate customer service. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and clean, the food is delicious (thanks TJ) but the interaction with the people of the Central is most memorable. From hotel leaders to dining staff and housekeeping, everyone was friendly, warm and inviting. We had fun with the dining staff. Shout out to Victor and Teresa and Bob! We laughed together and became friends even for just a short stay. From the beginning, Kristine and Erica set a warm tone. The hotel is blessed to have such committed employees. Mike and his team were on it to make sure we had everything needed during our 3 day visit. They didn't miss a beat. The Central understands hospitality and it's part of their culture. Clearly Peter sets a great example from the top, I watched how they interacted with us and with others. My experience - Just Superb and Greatly Appreciated!

    « My Retreat experience ! »

When I entered into the hotel, the atmosphere was warm, the staff greeted me with respect and warmth. My room was very nice, clean, , my bed was comfortable, plenty of pillows, every thing in place. Temperature control was in my hands. This was our church retreat, our first time at the Central, great location, we did not mind the 2 hours plus ride, the scenary is beautiful. Our buses was accomodated. The food was excellent, nicely seasoned, and temperature of the food was great. The serving staff was respectful and accomodating. If we needed something they would supply it with a smile. The order in which we were called to the buffet table was orderly and smooth. If the room temperature was too cold, we requested for it to be lowered, it was so. I enjoyed my stay. I am recommending that we come back! And do this again. Thank you looking forward to seeing you in 2016!

    « Good Overnight Stay »

We stayed at the Best Western Premiere Central Hotel during a trip to Hershey Park on Halloween. We were greeted by a nice man at the desk who promptly sent us to a room on the Turnpike Side of the hotel and it was unacceptable, the noise was terrible. Now as a Diamond level I should have been offered the best available room in the house and was denied. Instead we were given a room at the other end of the universe not easily accessible. That being said, the hotel was clean, beds were good, strong WIFI and the bathroom / showers were up to par with good water pressure. The flat screen TV was new and the fridge and microwave came in handy. The restaurant had an excellent breakfast buffet for $8.00 per person and there were other chain food options nearby. The ride to Hershey Park was only 15 minutes away so I would highly recommend this hotel for a short stay at Hershey, a good and inexpensive alternative to the higher priced hotels of nearby. The only thing to remember is to specifically book a room on the other side of the Turnpike.

« Nice place, but weak room service »

I was really surprised to come back to the room & find the bed had been made, the garbage had been emptied. BUT nothing else. This is the first BW premier I have stayed at. Even the oldest, lowest end BW I have stayed at have refilled the coffee, & cheap plastic cups. The coffee maker is on a slide that I left out & was still out. Still had the use coffee pod in it. Really nothing other than the bed & garbage had been touched. I was surprised.

    « Accessible and pet-friendly. »

PROS: Helpful staff; good ADA accommodations throughout the building (parking just outside our room); pet-friendly; clean; lovely grounds and easy 'on-off' Hwy I-81. CONS: Extremely noisy rooms on the highway side of bld.; mattress a bit firm for us (were told we had a sleep # bed at ck.-in, but that wasn't the case); On-site restaurant staff VERY friendly yet...food was subpar at best (we had supper & brk.fast. and both were pretty bad :(

Love staying at this hotel. The staff are professional, courteous and accommodating. They allow early check in and late check outs. The staff here really care about their jobs-it's more than a job to them. The hotel was clean and festively decorated. The food was outstanding. I loved the cucumber/lemon infused water that was offered in the lobby daily- complimentary. It's easily accessed right off the highway. There are many resources located within the vicinity. Victor, Kevin and Terry (?) were attentive to the nutritional and overall needs of all guests at all times.

    « Fantastic Accommodations »

The Pennsylvania Coalition for Parent Involvement/Family Involvement Conference held its annual conference at the Best Western Premier the Central Hotel and Conference Center in Harrisburg October 18-21, 2015. I can not tell you how extremely pleased we were with this facility. From the time we arrived on Sunday, October 18th until we departed on Wednesday, October 21st, the entire staff could not be more accommodating. The desk staff were always there to answer question, housekeeping staff always had our rooms ready on time and the entire staff always had a smile on their face and greeted guest as they moved around from workshop to workshop. The banquet staff was outstanding. They went above and beyond our expectations in making sure dietary needs were met for those with special needs. They were friendly to all our participants as they joked and teased each other in a respectful way. They even went to the local grocery store to purchase items that were needed for a unique special diet. I could go on and on with writing this review. Thank you to the entire staff at The Best Westren the Premier Hotel and Conference Center for a wonderful conference.

« Fabulous in every way. »

From the festive entrance and lobby to the clean, comfortable, and sophisticated rooms, this Best Western is clearly meant to impress. It is by far the most beautiful BW I've ever stayed at. The price I paid for a two-bedroom suite is unheard of considering the high-quality of the beds, room decor, and amenities. Highly recommend!

« GREAT! what else needs to be said? »

clean... beds were very comfortable... pillows.. i wanted to take them all home! the only real complaint i had was this. noise and smoke... this was a no smoking hotel, and the 3 rooms before us were packed with animals or uncivilized persons.. call it whatever you want. They were smoking and couldnt give a rats behind after i asked them twice to put it out. Then they allowed their little rugrats to run in the hall after midnight. I'm not referring to children, i am referring to the most ill behaved, demonic things imaginable. I asked the front desk if they could do something about it.. so i dont know if they did or the excitement simply died down in the wee hours... other than that.. everything was great. WOULD GO AGAIN!

    « Not what I expected - In a good way »

Ten People: 1 Grandparent, 1 Aunt & 1 Uncle, 2 couples and 3 kids all under 7 years old. = 4 rooms on the same floor. Having booked via Priceline, I wasn't certain as to the room-type or service we would have received. It was fantastic. It was if we were part of a high-end Business Conference, as opposed to a bunch of family members going to Hershey Park. Front Desk - Friendly, Helpful, Professional yet warm. Hotel - each room was: Clean, Modern, Clean, filled with extras, Clean and did I mention CLEAN! Lobby - Large, welcoming, organized with meeting rooms near the rear and a sunken "Lounge" in the center. TV's for watching the game, segmented for smaller groups to watch different games. (Pa. loves it's Football, but the Mets were playing and we were able to view in the lounge an not forced back to our rooms) Free Coffee/Tea/Ice Water in the lobby. I think fresh fruit in the early morning. Only draw back was our room faced the rear parking lot which ran along a busy road. Each room offers a white-noise machine, which I should have used. The room had a mini-fridge, micro-wave, ample closet & drawer space and was CLEAN!! 15 to 20 minutes to Hershey Park and Chocolate World. (Take 322 not the back roads. The back roads were pretty but very twisty - I did not want to drive back on it at night - - - and I didn't. We took 322 back to the hotel at the end of the day) The hotel truly is central and close to many Harrisburg sites & offices. The walls were solid and thick, we did NOT hear anyone in the halls or next door - - - and we KNOW we should have heard next door, because it was our niece & nephew. :-) Restaurant connected to lobby: Very good food.

« Good alternative Hershey location »

Don't have $1300 for a weekend at the Hershey Hotel? Figured out the Hershey Lodge is partially under renovation? Enthused with the remaining choices near the "park"? For a drive of about 10-15 minutes depending on the traffic, this Best Western offers a good alternative to Hershey's 5-star / 2-star dichotomous alternatives with excellent decor, spacious rooms and indoor pool much better than what you would expect from a $200-$250 a night stay. The architect organize the main rooms around a lobby/courtyard and the pool which is an interesting touch (remember not to throw open the curtains in the morning until you check what you slept in). The layout makes getting to your room fast and efficient and getting coffee easy. While the location works well for local attractions you are staying on the side of a somewhat busy commercial road although there is plenty of parking. Kudos to the interior decorator who chose sepia-tinged photos of local import - nice touch. The one on-premises restaurant choice doesn't make you want to write home and while there are plenty of local alternatives most are fast-causal chains. The lobby bar was not open and may have just been for groups but was clearly amiss for those who didn't want to sit in the faux-Irish themed cafeteria like O'Reilly's restaurant. In short, a good compromise when visiting the Hershey attractions.

« Yearly spa trip with girlfriends »

This Hotel was one of the best Hotels I stayed for the price point, and the amenities in the hotel they provide to the guests. The service was great, food was good, had a great Bar and lounge area, perfectly located close enough to downtown Harrisburg but far away enough from the traffic. I would stay there again and recommend it to many other people who want to visit Harrisburg.

Food was a bit bland, but i guess thats how they cook. Pool was indoor, but it was very hot and smelled like bleach. Would def stay there again. Enjoy ??

« Swell Place to stay »

I have stayed at this hotel many times. The facility is beautiful, clean and quiet. It is home away from home. It has a lavish, big-city style lobby and a very nice restaurant. Some rooms even connect directly to the pool.

    « Wouldn't Stay Anywhere Else »

I've stayed here multiple times when traveling for work and have NEVER had a bad experience here. Easy on and off the highway. This hotel is beautiful. The entry is always beautifully decorated and the lobby is warm and inviting. The front desk staff is always very friendly and willing to help with anything you might need. On several occasions I've had a room overlooking the lobby... Don't be afraid of these rooms because even with a function going on, it was quiet in my room. However, if you are someone who likes to sleep in silence, I recommend requesting a room away from the highway (not that it is louder than any other hotel that has rooms overlooking the highway, but just a recommendation). Each room has a mini-fridge and a large flat screen TV. The beds are comfortable with the softest duvets I've ever felt. The breakfast buffet in O'Reilly's Tap Room and Kitchen (connected to the hotel) is delish and the staff is very nice. There are other hotels in the vicinity but I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

« Nice place at great price »

Nice clean hotel at a great price. Took about 15 minutes to get to Hershey park. Ate in attached restaurant for breakfast and it was good, they give discount for hotel guests. Pleasant check-in and everything was clean and updated.

From check in through check out, EVERYTHING about this hotel was amazing!! The facilities and rooms were better than the internet pictures...... The staff was very helpful and did "what ever it took" to make us happy and the price was very favorable!! If I ever need a hotel again, anywhere near Harrisburg... I will definitely be staying here.

    « Surprisingly impressed! »

I had my reservations about this hotel. Being new with a company and having to share a room for a training, I was very hesitant and unsure of a number of things. I got here, checked in and was impressed with the lobby, beautiful! Then the room...I arrived before my roommate and entered a beautifully decorated room with two queen beds, very comfy looking I must add. I went to the front desk and asked for extra hangers to respect my roomie so not to use them all. I was told there's more than one closet in the room, I went back upstairs only to find...a whole other bedroom with a king size bed!!! The bathroom was immaculate, the bed comfy, and there I hung until I was ready for dinner. Traveling alone I like to sit at the bar, well that was just the beginning of a great experience at O'Reilly's!!! The staff was so friendly and the food was great! Kristy, with a K and a Y, Banquet Captain, was a joy to sit next to. Actually the entire crew made me feel like family. Yes, it sounds funny after just one visit but it's true! I will DEFINITELY stay here any time I'm visiting Harrisburg!

« The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly »

Let me start this review by saying that management fully comped the room as well as breakfast in the restaurant. We're very careful about where we stay and I don't usually have to give a poor review. I think this is only the second poor review in over 500. I called central reservations to ask when this hotel was redone, and I was told only 4 years ago. This is important to me as I have 3 herniated discs and need good bedding. The lobby is lovely, but that was the last decent thing we saw here. Had I not gone in directly to shower and get ready for bed, I would have requested a different room of simply left. The beds were both awful and not anywhere near new. Management later told me some revisions had been made 4 years ago when the property was taken over by BW. The one bed was lumpy even though a pillow top mattress. The other wasn't lumpy, but it was so soft I had to sleep at the very edge of a queen bed. Both beds sagged into the center portion so staying on the edge was no easy trick. The last time I was in such an uncomfortable bed was at a small place in the Outer Banks, NC. My one other poor review. The bedroom area was dull and drab but I could have lived with that. What I found disgusting was the mildew in the bathroom around the soup dish and bath tub and wall. There was rust on the metal stripping holding the ceiling tiles in place over the tub, the bathroom fan frame was coming out of the ceiling, and there was some sort of white powdery looking substance on the brown wallpaper. I had dripped some water on the floor and wiped it up with a towel. The towel was black which makes me think the floor hadn't been washed in some time. I was amazed to see this place rated a Premier Property. This is without a doubt the worst Best Western, (and one of the worst hotels) I've ever been in. Since we travel at least 12-14 weeks a year, that statement speaks volumes. All I want is a clean, comfortable place to stay and this wasn't it. You do not get a complimentary breakfast here either. They do offer a buffet for about $9 which was compted. It was OK but nothing like the fee breakfasts at the Hilton Garden Inns or other places. It was OK, but not Premier quality. The manager was very nice about the whole thing, but I really feel central reservations dropped the ball by letting me think the entire property was recently redone. The place is pretty, but before I could recommend this to anyone I would tell them to check the room BEFORE checking in.
