    « Disgraceful / Une honte »

The hotel is ok and rooms are clean. The reception staff is helpful and can gladly recommend for a stay. The restaurant, nevertheless is a shame. Went there with my daughter (10). The place was 1/4 full only so we expected a quick service. Seemingly there is only one person in charge even though there are several waiters/waitresses. Took 30 minutes before we managed to draw his attention but it was visible that he was in a stressed/bad mood. Got a beer and a bottle of water. We then placed the order. A burger and a cesar salad. After 45 minutes of wait I noticed that a guest who arrived 10 mins prior received his cesar salad so I enquired about why my daughter's salad take 45 mins? Sebastian explained that I placed the order at the same time as the burger for myself. I asked as a confirmation if a salad takes 5 minutes to prepare if ordered alone and 45 is ordered at the same time as another dish - even if not for the same person? Sebastian replied in an arrogant way that this is exactly the way it works. So go figure. It's a pity that frustrated people get a job in the service industry...

« Nice Chain Hotel in a Quaint Little Town »

A nice place to rest after a cycling ride. The bed was comfortable, the shower hot, the wifi a bit below average. We did participate in breakfast before we hit the road the next morning. A good variety. The staff were quite friendly and service oriented. It is convenient to the casino but a distance from both the historic city center and the port. Good value.

    « Best Western, Gruissan »

Great hotel, with super staff, with a good location for touring the area, as it is centrally located. Only disappointment was that lounge/bar is really none existent, although drinks and coffee can be purchased from the 'bar' (about 3 feet of counter space), behind the reception, and serviced by reception staff. The restaurant is located in the casino, and was only open very limited hours, and with a very limited menu. Service was also a bit lax and too casual. I would recommend the premium rooms for a much better outlook. Overall great value, and super staff.

« Safe, well equipped, good rooms, good value »

Stayed for two nights from 27 August 2015. Perfectly fine hotel, reception staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Located within easy walking of town and beach. Excellent value.

    « HEDGED IN »

As others have noted, the layout of this hotel is that of an American motel, with doors to rooms leading directly off the car park. Check in was efficient and friendly, and the room itself, with a Mediterranean tiled floor, clean and adequate though not exciting nor outstandingly comfortable. Our room was on the ground floor, and sliding doors led to a small deck. But oh the hedges! Hedges in a hotel have never caused me to comment in the past, so I should explain. Each of the ground floor rooms had a strip of lawn the width of the patio (about two metres) leading down to a small lake. Either side of this strip were hedges over two metres high, and these had not been cut for a while, so the outlook was even more restricted. Why on Earth would they have done that? I have never seen anything so ridiculous; it completely negated the benefit of a patio and left us with little more than a glimpse of the small lake. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, but the breakfast room was large and light. We had dinner twice in the restaurant of the adjacent casino (it's all the same business and the hotel is situated in a corner of the casino carpark). Both dinners were excellent, well served and reasonably priced. But those hedges!

« An almost wholly enjoyable stay »

My wife and I were visiting Gruissan for a couple of days and found this hotel to be a pleasant place in which to stay with an excellent location. Obviously, so far as the room is concerned I can only comment on that in which we stayed - described as a 'privilege' room, it was a little cramped but did have a small terrace garden leading down to the lake: the beds were very comfortable. However, as with many older hotels, the bathrooms are in dire need of modernisation particularly to cater for those who may not be disabled but who do have some mobility problems (aged joints !). The staff were friendly, courteous and efficient: there was a high standard of cleanliness: the air conditioning in the bedroom was extremely effective which was greatly appreciated as our visit coincided with a period of very, very high temperatures. However, it was extremely inconvenient that the advertised WIFI was unavailable throughout our stay - there was no explanation other than a comment that this 'often happened'.

    « Well appointed rooms »

Lots of car parking available, some rooms open direct onto car park, but rooms are well appointed, and comfortable. Swimming pool was very nice and clean, with drinks served at pool side. Check in was late but we arrived in the morning and could use all the facilities available.

    « So good »

Had the best nights sleep, bed so comfortable. Good soundproofing. Since it was more like a motel than a hotel, expected to hear a lot of noise, but it was very quiet. Room was a nice size, lovely bathroom, and very clean. Location perfect for restaurants, bars, marina, beach. Would definitely recommend.

« Loud and noisy in the evening »

This hotel seems nice and the rooms are nice but in the evening as you would expect from a casino hotel it is very noisy, there were a lot of rowdy men hanging around the rooms outside the hotel and they started shouting at me and my partner as we walked to our room in the evening. we only stopped there for a night on our way to Montpellier but i wouldn't recommend this hotel as i didn't feel particularly safe. On a plus, the staff are friendly and the breakfast was OK but a bit over priced.

    « Good Value »

Stayed here with friends whilst exploring the area. Rooms were clean and compact with mini bar and free wifi. Our room had decking with a bistro style table and chairs and a grassed area with sun loungers leading down to a lake. The areas were partitioned with tall hedging and there was a canopy which could be rolled down to protect from the sun. Be warned though-if you don't like snakes there were lots of them in the lake! They didn't bother us and stayed in the water and were fascinating to watch but anyone with a snake phobia may not be so entertained! The staff were great and all spoke English well. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh and could be eaten inside or on the terrace overlooking the lake. Although next to a casino it was quiet at night and we spent a night in the casino bar listening to the Friday night karaoke which was very entertaining. There are a few restaurants a short walk away at the harbour offering inexpensive menus.

« Hidden gem in Gruissan, France »

Excellent little hotel, with new owners making subtle improvements. Rooms( and beds) are comfortable, some with lakeside views, and the buffet breakfast selection is superb. Adjacently owned casino also houses the hotel's restaurant also excellent.
