Fantastic venue and the warmest welcome from friendly helpful staff. They couldn't do enough to help us make the best of our stay. The golf course has suffered like so many over this wet winter however they made sure we got out. In the evening the food was top class. Again the staff couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was delicious lots of choice for meat eaters and vegetarian options were good too. Can't fault this hotel or the staff. Great value for money I would highly recommend .

Staff are really lovely, breakfast was great and really good value! But the room i stayed in was very dated, old worn furniture, very dark and dreary and the bathroom was really outdated and needed a lot of TLC. Cracks in the floor tiles and bath panel werent ideal. Considering it was sold as an executive king room i was left really disappointed in the standard. The bed also had a really hard frame at the sides that stuck out further than the mattress, really hurt getting out of the bed! My friends stayed in an executive suite which was lovely! Bathroom was modern and really impressive! So some updates have been done. I would of mentioned the sub standard room to the receptionist as i checked out but i wasnt asked how my stay was, seemed a bit futile to mention it to be honest. Could be a decent hotel with a bit of money spent upgrading the rooms.

Really good hotel. Set in great grounds. Staff more than friendly and helpful. Central location. We were down for a Motorsport Event. Rooms nice and clean and hot water at the turn of the tap. My room had a bath which was a god send for me to soak in after a tiring day of motorsport.

This place is just okay. We stayed here for a pit stop on the way from Somerset to Glasgow so just wanted somewhere not too far off the motorway and cheap. If that's all you're after, this place is fine (just about) Parking is good and it's easy to find but the whole place is very dated; dirty carpets, 90s decor, broken handles on wardrobes etc. There was a fairly thick coating of dust on the lamps in our room and a lot of limescale in the shower. It may have just been our room which was a twin, who knows. We could hear every move of the people in a room above us, who were just doing normal things ie going to the bathroom, opening drawers. If I had been staying here for anything other than we were, I'd have been disappointed.

Stayed for two night mini break in February. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Had our evening meal in the brasserie on our first night, good service and food. Good choice of breakfast options and very good. Recommended to anyone visiting the area.

Booked the suite for one night away and the room was great. Its on the ground floor and has french doors onto a slabbed area outside next to the golf course. Bed was big and comfort was 7/10. Bathroom was modern with a massive shower and nice big modern bath too. Room smelled fresh and was clean and tidy.

Very relaxing atmosphere. Very clean and spacious rooms. Beds very comfy. Staff friendly and helpful. Some been there 20 years -speaks volumes! Night staff which was great for a late arrival. Corridors quiet despite a large conference the next day!

I'm trying to get those photos up from my Jan 29th review! I think this might do it now. So, for anyone who might have wanted to see what I was describing, then you'll find that these photos will pick up the remarks that I made in my review. It might also be useful for the hotel.

We wish the owners a speedy sale (they make no secret of it, as the lack of interest shows in the bedrooms, which clearly have had very little money spent on them for decades). Perhaps a few low-cost tweaks might help the bedrooms look more attractive to both guests and potential buyers, such as:- - Finding some upcycled wall art, to brighten up the bleakness; - Replacing the cold white ceiling and wall light bulbs with warm white ones; - Finding some way to disguise the grafitti and deep scour marks on some of the bedroom furniture; - Either replacing the ugly eco light bulbs in the wall lights with attractive candle bulbs, or fitting lamp shades, and either way, choosing cold white or warm white but not one of each in each light; - Making sure the duvet covers aren't inside out; - Tucking the bottom sheet under the mattress instead of stuffing it down the edge of the bed, as it all comes away with the duvet; - Finding pillow cases that actually cover the pillow; - Making sure the coffee machine has been cleaned before new guests arrive; - Ironing and rehanging the curtains; - Trying to remove the stains from the sofa; - Touching up the rust in the bath with some enamel paint; - Trying to refit the bath panel; - Rethinking the drab khaki 'feature wall' behind the bed. All the above are borne out by the photos I've attached, and refer to the 2 Executive Double Rooms that we saw/stayed in, but in addition could we ask that:- - Reception doesn't close for the day at 3pm, precisely the time that guests are asked to arrive from; - Check-in staff in the bar are reminded that if guests are staying more than 1 night, the key card needs to be told that too, so guests don't get locked out after 24 hours as we were; - Morning reception staff are reminded to ask the guest on check out if everything was OK?/Did we enjoy our stay?/Hope to see us again/Have a safe onward journey/Any or all of these. .....On the plus side, the duty manager on our first night did his best to help us, the rooms were clean and warm, the communal areas were fresh and modern, and the food was good and fairly priced.

Very comfortable and all the staff friendly. Great breakfast beautifully cooked. The evening meals also good selection and tasty. Small issue with light and hairdryer, sorted within a brief time. The staff from booking, service and restaurant efficient

Stayed for 2 nights in a suite. Great location, great breakfasts, ate dinner in the restaurant twice - the food was incredible home made pies, burgers and desserts. The staff were helpful, polite and knowledgeable, the wine I was recommended was delicious. The extra large double ended bath and the extra special shower made for a couple of evenings of pampering. Very warm and cosy. Close to the Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre.

A very comfortable stay with everything you need. Very friendly and helpful staff that will also happily go 'the extra mile' for you. The hotel comforts and staff made travelling with a new baby and 5 YO much easier. The food was also fantastic and fresh.

Seven ladies on a two night Dinner, Bed & Breakfast golf trip. The weather was unkind so the golf was cut short on both days. However, whilst not being the most modern hotel, what it lacked in style, the friendly staff more than made up for its short comings. The food was excellent and the service was really good and nothing was too much trouble.

Had my wedding at garstang country hotel and golf and had an amazing experience. Julie was very attentive to our needs and supported us all through from the beginning planning the wedding to the day of the wedding and after, thank you Julie and everyone else that was there for us. everything was perfect and I am so glad I chose your venue what an amazing day it was ❤️

Stopped here as was at a wedding 5 miles away. Check in was at the bar & not in reception (a bit weird but not really a problem), rooms adequate & comfy, although bottled water would be a nice touch),. We had 2 single beds which were really comfy. Breakfast was divine & plentiful! Thank you

Stayed here for B&B on a Saturday night , hotel room was what was expected, breakfast was good lots of choice between cold & full English . Location for getting into Garstang was good just popped in a taxi and there in 5 mins , room overlooking golf course was a bonus . Coffee making faculties a bonus . Definitely stay again when visiting the area ..

Great hotel- good restaurant with very good choice of food. Comfortable rooms with great views over the gardens and golf course. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff- they went out of their way to make you feel welcome.

First, I need to say that the staff were friendly and welcoming and the views are stunning but I need to write this review because as far as the food is concerned I feel completely misled. There was nothing wrong with it but if you look at my photos you will see that what is advertised bears no resemblance to what's on offer.

Excellent value for the price. Rooms are a bit dated….. But clean and quiet. Comfortable bed, super friendly staff and an excellent breakfast! If you want a cheap decent nice sleep and, did I mention the excellent breakfast? ….. then book it….

Great stay at this lovely hotel. We had booked the last room available on a Saturday and it was advertised as a twin however the thoughtful staff rearranged the beds and furniture to make a very large double which was much appreciated. The room although a little tired was immaculate and great bathroom with more than enough space in the bedroom. The breakfast was buffet style which we love as we not only get to eat immediately but we only get exactly the right amount so no waste. Oh and they actually serve tomato juice with all the normal juices which is a breath of fresh air as hotels very rarely have this option available. Staff were helpful and friendly even after serving a few less than polite golfers in the bar in the evening. Didn't have dinner here as we were at a family event so can't comment on the food but as I said breakfast was great. Well done and would recommend and stay again if in the area.

AS A PARTY OF 26 GOLFERS WE COULD NOT HAVE HAD MORE HELP THAN WE EXPERIENCED. BOTH THE HOTEL STAFF AND THE GOLF PERSONNEL WERE MORE THAN HELPFUL IN EVERY ASPECT OF OUR STAY. WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK AGAIN.

Soulless,staff were nice but running on auto. Room was o.k. Breakfast was a fry up and o.k. If you wanted continental forget it,pastries were minutures that were cooked 6 at a time with a 20 minute wait (if you asked),no bread rolls. Evening meals were rubbish with a limited menu,cheep meat and staff with no personality. The hotel was supposed to be full,yet there were just three tables occupied at 8.00pm. Reception was unmanned for much of the day,check in was at the bar. SOULLESS

We stayed there for a wedding, around 25 people. Friendly attentive staff. Rooms need a refresh, esp the carpet You need to book a breakfast slot (which is good and bad). Lots of parking Good outdoor seating

I stayed at the hotel for a wedding, but the non-existant customer service and assistance, lack of information and overall lack of care for guests made it a very poor stay. To start, we had to arrive at 7am to prepare for the wedding, however, there was no offer for assistance or guidance on what we should do with our belongings. When I went to reception to enquire about early "check in" which is 12pm, I was told the cut off was the day before to allow housekeeping to prepare the rooms, in which there was no information that there was a cut off point for early check in. I then had to ask what to do with my belongings as the room we were getting ready in was a public room to be used later in the evening, and I had to hand over my belongings to be held until check in was available at 3pm, which meant staff members had access to all my belongings. That's 8 hours without a room. I had to get changed for the wedding in the bathroom stalls, as the ceremony was at 1:30pm. At 3pm, I was able to check in. I was supposed to be near the bridal party/mother of the bride however they had put me on the ground floor away from them completely, without any warning or reason as to why I had been moved from 28 to 11. I also was left to struggle opening and closing doors with a crutch, and my suitcase and bag, no offers were made for assistance. Apart from a lift, there was nothing visible for accessibility. The room they gave me was also pretty much at the end of the corridor and meant a long walk which is difficult for me. When I reached my room, I struggled with the key cards and had dropped them, wasn't able to pick them up between trying to hold the door open, keep myself balanced and keep hold of my belongings. Once I had made it in through a lot of struggling, I had a quick look in the room and left. It was time for the wedding breakfast and all I can say is the food was very disappointing. None of it had any sort of substance or flavour, and I ended up leaving half of it, the dessert was somehow worse, none of them looked appetizing, and the one I did try was so sickly sweet I nearly choked. After the speeches I headed to my room to get some things, when I rolled my blind down a bit I found a dead daddy long legs flattened on the front of the blind. I also wanted to charge my phone for a bit, however, there were no bedside sockets. The sockets had been placed up in the middle of the headboards, right in the middle of the bed therefore nowhere to rest my phone on. I didn't return to my room until the evening, around 11:30pm/11:45pm, in which there was no one on the reception (even though they are supposedly a 24/7 hotel). I had been awake since 5am so i just wanted to chill out and get some sleep knowing that checkout was by 11am, and breakfast was up until 10am. If you ask me, the hotel works completely backwards in terms of checking in and out. Once I had got myself ready to go to bed, I spent about 10 minutes searching for the tv remote. Then once I got in the bed, which the covers were so tightly and heavily tucked under the mattress it was very hard to loosen, I was too cold. On the phone to my mother I said I would try to ring reception to ask for a blanket, the hotel phone provided had no numbers of reception and when I picked up the phone it was just a dial tone. No information on how to contact reception should you need something. On top of this, it wasn't until then I discovered that the hotel had free public wifi, and I had been using my data all day as there was no visible information to inform that the wifi was freely available. In the morning, I went for breakfast which was very greasy, fatty and not at all nice. overall, it was an extremely poor stay, extremely disappointing, absolutely not worth £105.

Stayed here as I was having a night out in Garstang on Saturday 7th July. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly on check in. Room was huge and comfortable. Breakfast was included and lovely in the morning. All in all a decent stay and would return for my next night out in Garstang.

Nice hotel in a peaceful location. We were made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff. We ate in the restaurant in the evening with some friends who live fairly locally. The food was tasty, our friends particularly enjoyed the pies. Our room was comfortable and overlooked the golf club. Our trip was a golf break purchased for us by our son. We had a tee time booked for the Tuesday morning at 10 we asked if we could start earlier because rain was forecast early in the afternoon. The man in the golf shop was very helpful and said we could go out an hour early. Unfortunately the predicted rain arrived before we finished our round, but we got more than half of it in. Breakfast was excellent with good choices and some local produce. I particularly enjoyed the yogurts from Preston. If we were in the area again we would choose this hotel.

We stayed for birthday celebration with family dinner bed and breakfast with 2 games of golf the course is in excellent condition and the weather was very kind to us, would definately recommend this hotel to anyone playing golf

I had my Lady Captain's weekend away at Garstang and I would highly recommend this venue. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The service was fantastic as was the quality of both the food and the golf course.

Booked on Saturday night a Twin Room Requesting 2 single beds. Got there and was allocated room 19 which had one Big Bed. went to speak to Guy in restaurant who was manning reception to let him know we had booked a twin, all he did was check his computer and state that we had been given a KING so he couldn't change it. NOT very helpful, we had no choice but to stay, as it was non refundable and we needed a room, all I can say is that its a good job we weren't siblings or work colleagues, having to share a bed.!! NO Thought for the Customers comfort !! I For one had a very long uncomfortable nigth, with little sleep as I was not comfortable and wanted my own "seperate bed" as booked! Most of the staff were just as surly and unhelpful, with the exception of 1 girl in the restaurant. who was lovely. but most need re training! Food was tasty but you didnt get a lot for the prices they charged, The whole hotel looked dated, and tired and in need of a major facelift..It was clean but "worn out and Shabby everywhere", Except the restaurant. Having said that whilst sat eating in the restaurant which had the doors open to the golf course, you were subjected to Loud shouting, swearing and frivolity coming from Drinking Blokes, which not everyone wants to listen to whilst eating out on a saturday night. Nothing was said to them to calm their language or quieten down... The Shower was over the bath, it was lukewarm and NOT VERY easy to use as apart from climbing in the bath, you had a shower curtain stuck to one arm, and a dirty great Hand rail on the wall the other side, no room to comfortably shower. The approach to the hotel looked very nice, but it was, definitely a let down, once inside. Pretty certain we would not book to stay here again, especially as you dont get the room you book...Pretty disgusted really. IRONICALLY - this was the second B/W hotel we stayed in One week apart, and BOTH were a complete shambles, now either we are unlucky With B/W hotels or they are all rubbish... I DEFINITELY wont be booking in another one!!

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and comfortable. Our room was big, bright and airy. The view from our bedroom window was across the open golf course. The furniture was dark, but it was solid, it all matched, it was all spotlessly clean, and suited us a treat. The room was bright, and fresh, as was the bathroom. There was a heated towel rail, if we wanted it on, and the huge fluffy towels were more than big enough! We chose not to have our evening meals here, but did enjoy our breakfasts, on both mornings. The restaurant was spick and span, everything was immaculately laid out, and the choice of food was all freshly cooked. There was the usual choice of cereals toast and fruit juices too. The only thing I particularly missed with my breakfast was a milky coffee . Other than that, breakfast was a very relaxed experience, and thoroughly enjoyable. We were very pleasantly surprised at the bar prices. There are plenty of places to sit, inside and out, and. the gardens around the perimeter of the hotel, make for a delightful stroll. We found all the staff so helpful...nothing was too much trouble. We are looking forward to our next visit here, very soon.

Check in was easy with no bother. Rooms spacious with large bed and rather dated furniture but hey, the rates are very reasonable. Breakfast buffet was great, wide choice of most of the basics. Staff pleasant, and dinner choice was a bit limited but I thought the quality and quantity was ok. Golf course is a bit basic (with no distance markers/coloured posts/ directions/few fairway bunkers) but in very pleasant surroundings, with the river running alongside more than a few holes, and again cheap green fees.

Lovely hotel with grounds for playing golf, excellent facilities, would recommend that the hotel room decor could do with updating but room was in excellent condition and very clean. Excellent value for money as well! We would have stayed for breakfast but had already made plans with friends but I'm sure the breakfast would be good too

We stayed overnight on our way from the north of Scotland travelling to Devon. Huge rooms, very comfy beds, caring friendly staff and great food. The food was fresh cooked and locally sourced . Very quiet location but easily accessed fro the M6.

First time playing the course along with two other friends back in July. Overall, it was a great course with some excellent holes and maintained to a great standard considering the hot weather we had at the time. I am looking forward to returning this year!

Lovely, spotlessly clean spacious room, loads of hot water and golf course view. super comfortable bed. Staff as ever went out of their way to help us with small dinner party, lifting tables etc and then serving a meal that was excellent quality, and value for money. Nothing is too much trauble for this hotel.

Excellent hotel, good food ,very comfortable beds .We would stay here again if in the area. Lovely peaceful area. To improve the hotel there should be a small table in all the bedrooms, there is not one in room 26. A picture should be hung in all the bedrooms to make them less austere, there are plenty in the corridors that could be used

Pleasant stay used with a two night getaway voucher. Is cosy enough, but without sounding ageist, probably more one for the older generation. The room was comfortable enough, but just a little on the plain side, no pictures hung up giving it character & there was a big unused space in the corner of the room. The entrance/reception had a nice rural feel (fitting for the golf club). We were asked what time we wanted breakfast (only opted for one morning) and as we wanted a lie in, chose 9.45am. By the time we got there, there wasn't much left and no effort made to top it up. Having said that, although there wasn't a huge variety, it was tasty enough. The staff were friendly, but not overly. It is a 3 star hotel and I believe the 3 stars I've given reflects. On the whole I enjoyed it.

Beautiful place it looks lovely and it's very scenic. But I'm afraid the wrapping was better than the contents and for the price it didn't deliver the standard it charged. As for as the rooms they need upgrading as furniture very tired looking. The rooms were clean spacious but as I've said mediocre furnishings but clean enough. The bed wasn't very comfortable at all and sleep escaped me and was awake most of the night so was so tired in the morning! It didn't help that the lights fused at night and I spent the night blindly going around in the dark and also in the morning having to get up and get dressed in the dark then having to go the the staff twice to try and get the lights on so that's not good enough for a room you've paid £105 for. The breakfast was ok and plates were warm but the self sevice food was only Luke warm! The staff were very nice and the wedding was beautiful and everything went well. The wedding food was good although the butter served was with the starter was rancid and tasted like blue cheese the butter served in the morning was fine so maybe a one off with that. The starter pate was Lovely and the salmon main was very good too although the the sweets were not good at all. The apple in the crumble was delicious best bit of all the sweets but the crumble was gritty. The coconut chocolate ice cream was a big mistake it wasn't nice at all and all on our table left it and the choux pastry on my daughter cake so hard she couldn't even cut it with a knife! So that the down side ! The up side it is a beautiful place and wonderful views and food ok if you order wisely. There is a lift to the upper floors so if disabled you can manage and the first floor rooms can accommodate the disabled as has ramp to those rooms. I didn't see high chairs for babies but they may have them but I didn't see any. Not sure I'd stay again as had better accommodation and food for far less money paid and think there you pay for the view and the building. The rooms as I said are clean but mediocre in standard. For one night it was ok but I wouldn't plan to stay there What you look for is a good sleeping bed comfortable looking furnishings surrounding you all clean and a nicely cooked warm breakfast! You can't sleep On a view and you don't eat it either ! bed and breakfast and clean and comfortable comes first Then a nice view is lovely but not the most important !

It was a comfortable stay for a business trip. They were having some kind of an event where people were showing off their craft goods etc, and I was put off by the fact that people tried to sell to me as I walked past in and out of the room and the hotel. This lack of privacy was a bit disappointing, but the staff are excellent!

We have stayed at this hotel four times on the way down south as a rest stop and to have a round or two of golf. The accommodation is adequate for our needs but is a little tired compared with some hotels we stay in. (we have only used two of the rooms so that is what our judgement is on). We have yet to be on the course when good conditions prevail but we enjoy the golf no matter what, this time we had severe gales and heavy rain showers so we had the course to ourselves on occasions. The meals have improved each time we have stayed this time they were excellent and within the golf stay costs. All the staff are friendly and very helpful which makes a stay more enjoyable THANK YOU ALL, We intend to stay again whilst we are still visiting relatives further south. Sorry about the repetition, but the standards have improved especially the food which was great.

Our first visit to Garstang hotel and probably our last. The hotel were hosting a wedding at the time of our stay which is not a problem BUT the guests were all staying along the corridor from our room. Our room number 33 was right next to the door as well meaning we heard every bump of it closing. We were also directly above the patio doors so every time that banged shut we also heard it. The wedding went on to 1am, the function room just happened to be on the same floor as all the bedrooms! The guests were very loud, shouting and banging on doors all night to the early hours of the morning, there was a do not disturb sign on our door which was ignored. We had our dinner in the bar, on arrival there were three members of staff behind the bar not one of them greeted us they all stood there looking unhappy, we ordered drinks and the guy still didn't manage a smile. The bar is nicely laid out with tables around it for dining, however it lacked atmosphere, it really could do with some background music to break the awkward silence and the silk flowers removing from the tables! The food was lovely and obviously home made, we couldn't quibble about it. Breakfast is in the bar also, thankfully staff were happy and greeted us nicely in the morning, the breakfast is also of a high standard. One check out we chatted with the receptionist about the issues we had, had the night before with the noise but she didn't seem at all bothered and just said the night porter had not said anything to her about noise! This is a nice hotel but it is very much focused around golfing trips, weddings and corporate functions.

Hello was there on Monday had lunch with my friend the jacket potatoes with cheese and beans was absolutely marvellous just the perfect amount and the barman was lovely as well he was very polite just what I wanted

We have just had my daughter's wedding here and I have to say that I cannot thank you enough for a seamless day from beginning to end. All the staff are wonderful, venue wonderful, weather even played its part. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a venue

Stayed 2 nights on way to The Lakes. Very impressed with hotel, its surroundings and staff. Foid very goid, plenty of choice, service good and prices reasinable. Breakfast excellent. Golf on doorstep and a good course. Rooms very good, plenty of space etc. Definitely will stay again.

Just spent a couple of days here for the wedding of my Granddaughter, what can I say but WOW! The food was fantastic, the staff caring and very hard working to make this day very special. We had a fabulous time and what a team they have here, I can only say you made the day so perfect it was an emotional, happy day and from the bottom of my heart I say Thank you to the all the staff for making it so special. Keep up the good work.

Garstang Golf Club are AMAZING! What a brilliant team . We booked our wedding here and they exceeded every single expectation and more ! Our venue looked stunning and they literally accommodated every need we requested , from rooms to food requests . Personal service was exceptional , have to specially mention Michelle the events manager - she was beyond helpful throughout the whole experience , very easy to contact , extremely helpful and so accommodating , couldn't applaud her enough for her customer service. Also Chris who looked after us on our wedding day and the morning after , what a star - again exceptional customer service , we felt so looked after and he even noticed I miscounted my guest numbers but like luckily Chris and the Head Chef prepared enough food so we didn't have hungry guests. The whole day went so smoothly , the food was delicious and from start to finish , every member of staff looked after us so well. Couldn't recommend Garstang golf club for a wedding enough , for such a bargain price too ! What a team - thank you so much everyone for giving us such a fabulous memorable day ! Xxx

Both my husband and I would highly recommend this hotel, from the moment we arrived , a family meal in the bar, a great night sleep in a very comfortable bed to the day of the ceremony. Michelle!!! What an amazing events coordinator! She absolutely made the whole event incredible! From settling nerves, to helping with jobs to keeping us all on time!! Words can't even describe how much she did for us on the day (and the day before). The kitchen staff, waiters, reception staff were all amazing! They did a brilliant job! Would definitely recommend a wedding there!! The gardens looked amazing and the views from the bedrooms are beautiful! Thanks so much <3

We have recently been to a family wedding at this hotel, and it was incredible! The service we received from all staff members was phenomenal. Everyone was friendly and ready to help when you needed them. Michelle, the events coordinator, was out of this world. She was so reassuring, willing to help, settling nerves and doing anything that she could possibly do. She calmed us down, ran out to the car to bits for us, helped us practise and made sure everything perfectly. The food was also good. From breakfast to the food at wedding.

I want to thank Vanesa and Dena for being very patience with me. They made my stay 10 times better. The milk and cookies were amazing and the room was better than any other hotel. Also the manager took care of an issue I had right the second I mentioned it. I believe her name is Cristal! A maid, Imelda, was also very helpful when it came to giving me new towels and anything else i needed for my room. Will definitely be stopping by again.

The Garstang Golf and Country Hotel was the venue for our daughters wedding. It was a lovely experience, the staff was friendly and offered good customer service. We stayed for 2 nights, the restaurant offered good reasonable priced food. The breakfast was buffet style, continental and full English with plenty to choose from. Would recommend and go again. Only downside we have is during this hot weather a fan would have been useful in our room or air conditioning.

Stayed over on the 6th |july my sister in laws wedding, The staff were fantastic nothing was too much trouble for them. The lady looked after the wedding party she was extremely good with the organising ,down to the last detail. Nothing at all went wrong. I could recommend anyone to have a wedding here.

Had a nice stay here for 1 night. It was convenient and had booked a suite. The room was large, well furnished with a nice bathroom and it's own door out onto some outside seating. The food was nice, although fairly standard pub style quality. Breakfast was good but buffets are not my favourite! The staff were all efficient and friendly. It's a nice hotel, no real wow factor but a solid 4 star. Would recommend.

Nice location and comfortable rooms.Staff very accomadating to your needs and food is very good and well presented too. The hotel seems to be very popular with weddings as it is a lovely setting I would say if you are visiting in the week it will be quieter.Pleasant stay non the less.

We have visited here a couple of times recently to eat and have not been disappointed. The staff have been lovely and the food is well made and well presented with large portions. Top this with outside seating over looking the golf course and trees in a peaceful location and it's perfect.

Very much enjoyed our one night stop over at Garstang. The suite was very comfortable and with a super bathroom. Nice to have French doors to sit out on the terrace to admire the countryside. Good food and staff very polite, professional and helpful. Why is this hotel not a 4*? We are looking forward to returning for a longer stay.

Booked four nights through the hotel website at a very reasonable rate. Garstang is attractive and the hotel location is ideal with the golf course and a rural landscape beyond. We found the room of a good size and well equipped, this was also very quiet. We ate dinner on two occasions and on both nights the food was very impressive, breakfasts were likewise. We have family in the area and will be using the hotel for future visits.

With a warm welcome from the reception staff, fantastic weather and a beautiful hotel this was going to be a wedding to remember. The room was spacious and immaculate on the ground floor over looking the stunning scenery and golf course. The wedding ceremony was conducted beautifully in the Kirkland suite and moving on to a superb sit down dinner. The evening was a brilliant disco/karaoke that catered for all tastes into the small hours. Breakfast was fab and again well presented by the staff on duty. Overall this hotels a fantastic venue for weddings and caters for other functions. The staff are really pleasant and helpful. Food superb and bar staff very efficient Thanks for a memorable day ??

Excellent position for Lancaster and surrounding areas. Quiet and staff attentive. Stayed in room 1 on ground floor as my wife is disabled and required an accessible room for her mobility scooter. Has large walk in shower with seat and plenty of handles. Large comfortable bed. Weather was extremely warm so needed an electric fan as no a/c in room but is in public areas. Breakfast good the usual buffet. Only gripe was the disabled parking space did not have the usual wide bay so doors cannot be fully opened. Also a few extra power points could help. Myself, I require a CPAP machine when I sleep and had to bring an extension leaded socket behind bed head and used by clock radio. Small bar in brasserie but served two hand pump beets along with usual gassed beers. Recommended.

14 family members enjoyed a celebratory meal at the hotel for my husband's 80th birthday. The staff, both in the dining and behind the bar, were exceptionally good and we had a lovely 3-course meal. Excellent. Mr and Mrs Dugdill

We wanted a wedding venue that would provide a lasting memory for our daughter and future son in law. High on the list of our priorities was a venue where all the guests could feel relaxed and enjoy the occasion in an atmosphere of elegance but not one of 'over the top'. Michelle and her wedding planning team went the extra mile to take some of the pressure away from our shoulders. On the day the catering team where superbly managed to ensure that everything went smoothly and the roast beef dinner was outstanding as was the Hog Roast in the evening. What was a welcome surprise was the cost of wine and beers which was very reasonable based on prices at other regional hotels. If you are looking for a venue for your daughter then i would strongly recommend the Garstang Country Hotel for its hospitality, attention to detail and excellent catering....and its location overlooking a golf course is ideal. Visited the hotel Sunday/Monday overnight as a party of twelve. We had stayed here several years before and decided on a return visit. The hotel was very good. Room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The public areas, bar. lounge, restaurant also very clean and the staff welcoming, polite and helpful. The three course evening meal served piping hot and the buffet breakfast plenty enough for any appetite. They had a coach group on our arrival who were clearly very thirsty with the heat resulting in some of the better beers runningout mid evening. The golf course is a good challenge with some lovely feature holes however the visit was disappointing as the vast majority of the greens were in very poor condition. Uneven putting surfaces with several types of grass growing to various levels, and badly worn areas which made a mockery of accurate putting - aim and hope!. Some TLC on the greens and the course would be very good indeed.

A very pleasant short stay in a well presented hotel with friendly and courteous staff who made us feel very welcome. A very relaxing couple of days topped off with an excellent breakfast which set us up for the day.

We went as a group of twelve for a one night golf break with two rounds of golf. Apart from the fact that the bar ran of out of some of its draft beers, including Guiness, the hotel cannot be faulted. We had a superb evening meal in the restaurant and the following morning's breakfast was just what the doctor ordered. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and of good quality. It was very disappointing that the Golf course did not match the hotel's high standards. Everyone of our party are experienced golfers and we all agreed that the greens were in an awful state, although one of our party visited the course as recently as early May and they were considerably better then. In addition some of the fairways are covered in daisies, making ball spotting more difficult. This is our second visit to this venue, we have plenty of choice in this Region and bearing in mind our recent experience, I for one will be looking elsewhere for our next golf break.

Had a very pleasant one night stay. Staff very friendly and helpful, room clean with iron, hairdryer, tea and coffee and in room safe. Reasonable prices. Although there was a wedding on we were not disturbed. Nice view over garden

Staying last night and had a spacious room, with a decent desk and large bed. Unfortunately there was something about the pillows which meant I spent much of the night alternately pushing one away and fetching it back, so not a perfect nights sleep. Dinner was excellent - not cheap, but uniformly good, with a perfectly cooked lamb shank and two local beers that involved very difficult choices to make. Dinner service was excellent - thanks, Gemma. Breakfast was a slight disappointment - I had to put the sausage back due to uncooked parts when I cut into it, but was substantial enough to keep me going for the day. Good WiFi in the room, useful as I had almost no mobile data signal. If I was a golfer, there would be lots to do, but as it was the green all around me was very relaxing. Staff service was friendly and helpful, so I would definitely come back if I am in the area again.

Friendly staff and good quality rooms (if a little dated). Lovely surroundings (golf course). Breakfast was okay but a noisy group and a tv blasting out in the breakfast room spoilt the otherwise tranquil atmosphere

My wife and me stayed from Friday lunch until late morning on Sunday and our stop was to attend a wedding . Our room was large and tidy but the biggest impact was the quality of the food thoughout breakfast on two mornings, dinner and lunch but particularly the wedding breakfast as all three courses were outstanding in terms of presentation and taste with quality of service the equal of any previously attended venues- we cannot recommend this venue highly enough.

Stayed at hotel for 1 night as in area for business. Rooms very clean and tidy bed was huge. All staff were very friendly and polite. Food was very good and decent portions. Golf course and driving range at hotel. Overall good stay and a decent price.

Hello the food was nice in the bradbeer bar for lunch I had soup and my carer had a prawn salad sandwiches and my partner had pulled pork. The service was very nice and he brought water to the table as well I did not get his name so thanks again

We got married on Sat 24th March 2018 and decided upon the Garstang Country Hotel & Golf Centre for both our ceremony and celebrations. In fact, we booked two nights as we had family members travelling from around the UK, so chose to arrive on Friday afternoon and stay until Sunday. From the very first time we viewed the hotel, we found the staff to be extremely accommodating and the hotel atmosphere relaxed and unpretentious. Our first visit was actually unannounced…. we just happened to be in the area, drove past the sign on the main road and decided to turn up the drive to have a quick look around and perhaps grab a brochure. The Manager on duty that day (Ian) spent over an hour with us, giving us a tour, brochures and answering questions, despite us having no appointment and him not actually being the ‘wedding co-ordinator'. Those excellent first impressions continued every single time we had cause to contact the hotel. Michelle the actual wedding co-ordinator was helpful and professional throughout the planning phase. As for the big day itself…. we are honestly thrilled with every aspect of the whole wedding weekend. Everything went smoothly and the staff had a really calming influence, despite us being a bit stressed and nervous. Anne, the catering manager was an absolute star for the whole weekend. She always seemed to be there whenever needed and ran proceedings incredibly well alongside Chris the Hotel Manager. The rooms and décor were set up EXACTLY as we'd requested and the hotel also arranged for little surprise extra touches (such as engraved champagne flutes for our first toast immediately after the Ceremony). A special mention needs to be made of the food. We've been to weddings and big events before and mass catering tends to sometimes be a bit disappointing….. Well not at the Best Western Garstang Country Hotel. Every single meal that we had, from the taster meal 8-months before the event, the 3-course meal on Friday evening, two breakfasts, the wedding meal itself and even the bacon and sausage barms for the evening…. EVERY SINGLE MEAL was of an excellent standard. And frankly, bearing in mind that the prices are not as expensive as some of the other local comparable 4* hotels, I think this offers excellent value for money. All of our wedding guests had an equally good time.. comments we received were that the hotel was lovely and relaxing, rooms nice and clean, views lovely, decent bar prices (not overpriced like some hotels) and staff friendly and eager to please. Our room (honeymoon suite) was lovely, spacious and the bed very comfortable. We actually had the Bridal Suite for both nights.... the hotel set it up for the Bridal party on the Friday night, complete with Super King size bed, pull-out sofa bed and a third camp bed for the Bride and all the Bridesmaids, and there was still plenty of floor space left... it is huge!! (The groom stayed in his own separate 'Executive' room on the Fri night). The hotel then 'turned' the Bridal Suite room round whilst we had our ceremony, ready for the Bride & Groom on the wedding night.... complete with 'swan' towels on the bed. The golf course itself is also lovely to play. We received a free 18-hole round for 4 as part of the wedding package and the Groom took this offer up with his best man on the Friday morning before the rest of the guests arrived. We also used the course for a few photo opportunities during the wedding, which resulted in some great photos, but was not good news for the Bride's dress or shoes – no matter, it's not like they'll get worn again! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Garstang Country Hotel for your wedding or special event.. we're sure you won't be disappointed.

I stayed here for four nights. It was my second choice due to the appaling organisation of best Western well stunning beautiful, quiet room was a bit cluttered with furniture. For a family of myself 3 children it was a bit small but managable. Breakfast was superb, staff helpful. Beautiful area to eat. Food very nice. Also the cleaners were my children's entertainment Swan towels tides are rooms to delight. I would say this we all like a peaceful quiet time. Here it's spot on highly recommend this Hotel.

This was just an overnight stay and it was better than I expected, the room was clean wasn't too keen on the twin beds pushed together but the price paid made up for it! Dinner was excellent and I throughly enjoyed it! Breakfast was buffet style and very good overall a good visit

This didn't feel like a hotel to us, but a lovely comfortable ‘home from home' where all the work is taken out of our hands. We settled in immediately & enjoyed every moment of our stay for all the reasons stated in previous 5 star reviews. A special thanks to Tina from housekeeping for here cheerful nature, Chef, for my vegetation sausages, Grace for her quiet efficiency in the restaurant, & Chris, the general ‘man about the house', who seemed to be everywhere all at once in order to make the place run like clockwork.

Fantastic two night stay to celebrate a wedding! Grounds are lovely, food was good. Staff were friendly. Rooms were to a good standard and the bridal suite was VERY nice indeed! Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Just stayed for one night, whilst visiting a local restaurant. Lovely hotel and room, lovely staff very helpful, lovely room with a garden view, lovely breakfast too, and very reasonably priced to boot!

This is an excellent stopover for driving north although it is a bit off route if you are on the M6. The only negative is that it is a touch dated. But other than that excellent staff food and service.

Hello rich here once again in another hotel and let me tell you WHAT a HOTEL this one is. Ok firstly this hotel is set in open grounds out of way of main road with a golf course and driving ranges. Yes I did say golf Course. Secondly it's a BEST WESTERN says it all. Thirdly staff are amazing rooms are unbelievable for price. Clean spacious quiet and plenty of condiments. Free parking and plenty of spaces Free WiFi and great signal And best part breakfast ?? Well I'll let you decide on that I know what I think. Oh if your an early starter they will pack you up a goody bag to collect at reception on your way out. Now you can't buy that for a dollar! ??

Superb ~ Easy no fuss ~ friendly. Great rooms that have everything. Good location. Has its own golf course so its pretty scenic. A great price for what your getting to be honest but it has always had a good reputation locally. I really only went to functions there rather than staying over.

The setting is great and would make a good base for exploring locally. And it is obviously good for golfers. The staff are very friendly, helpful and delivered good service. The rooms are good, with comfortable beds and we all slept well. The local history guide is outstanding, with lots of interesting detail about the area; it is quite the best such I've seen for many years. A full, cooked breakfast offered a range of options and the kippers were particularly welcome. The continental breakfast was OK though would have been improved by more sliced cheese and ham. Sadly, awful weather with rain measured in cats, dogs and stair-rods meant we didn't use the opportunity to walk around the huge lawns and the golf course. Next time, maybe. One dangerous downside was the hot water in the en suite bathrooms. It was insanely scalding hot and downright dangerous in a non-mixer tap. The hotel needs to fix that before someone is injured. A 'Hot Water' warning notice, out of sight behind a shower curtain is not good enough.

I attended a wedding here with my husband. It was a beautiful day from start to finish. Drinks are quite expensive as are the rooms. However, the rooms have every little thing you could possibly need; paper, envelopes, pens, iron and board. Plenty of tea and coffe facilities and the English breakfast in the morning was excellent. My only criticism is that although we booked a double room, we ended up with a twin. We are attending another wedding herein may and will be very upset if yet again we do not get a double room. The beds are incredibly comfortable and after pushing them together my husband and I had an excellent sleep. I would recommend for either a quiet getaway or even as a wedding venue. I was very impressed at the wedding packages that are available.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend break. The hotel was lovely and I couldn't fault it. The room was spotlessly clean and lovely and warm, the food was amazing and plentiful and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Well worth the 5 hour drive and we will definitely book again when we are visiting relatives in Lancashire.

I picked this hotel as a good location on my way up to hogmanay in Scotland. I got the room on a special deal. The hotel is in a beautiful location, with a golf course, yet close to the M6. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. The room was excellent and spacious with all the usual facilities - tea/coffee making, tv, towels, free WiFi. Breakfast was available. Whilst there was a decent range of food options on offer, if you had self-service traditional English breakfast, the food was not hot enough for me. So £10.95 for this was not good value for money for me. I do hasten to add that as I was in a rush to leave early, I did not have time to draw staff attention to the issue in order to allow them an opportunity to do something about it. Hence I have not reflected my dissappointment in my rating. I would highly recommend this hotel as a superb place to stay. Wheelchair/pushchair friendly. Staff friendly and helpful.

Can't fault anything here. Popped in for a quick drink and a bite to eat .3 Egg Omelette cooked to perfection! Also, the Staff here are always welcoming. Good food, good staff, good views. Can't really ask for much more . Cheers!

We have been to the golf club on many occasions, weddings, New Year's Eve and Boxing Day on each occasion we have had a good time and had a really good meal but this year we had a meal on Boxing day and the food was terrible, to start we had a chicken and black pudding terrine which had no black pudding in it it ressembled a thick slice of processed Bernard Matthews chicken roll and tasted as bland, the main course was no different, haddock with a strong red blue cheese sauce the fish was really over done and one boiled potato along side it was cold others in our party had the roast beef which came with roast potatoes that must of been cooked days before we had to ask for gravy, one person ordered chicken escolape and it was chicken breast a minor thing but gets you thinking, other desserts were fine but they were bought in.The Chef must of been on holiday because no decent chef would let that food out of his or her kitchen.POOR !

Welcoming staff and very helpful. The room was immaculately clean and the bed very comfortable. The extras, coffee, tea etc. were plentiful and overall a very pleasant experience. Extras in the bathroom were adequate. To be honest we could not fault anything, probably owing to the fact we only stayed the one night which it is not really possible to give a fair assessment.

I was looking forward to my return visit to this hotel and it did not disappoint, the location is great with views of the golf course. we just had one night with breakfast just as I remember the water is really hot the room was warm as it was really cold out side, missed the walk into Garstang, but weather has been so wet we had to go by car. Once again I would return to this lovely friendly hotel. The manager even remembered us which is always nice.

It was the perfect wedding venue for my daughters wedding and we all loved it. The wedding ceremony room was exceptionally well presented, the wedding breakfast food was first class,served with skill and finesse. As mother and father of the bride the day was faultless and all credit goes to the wedding co-ordinator and the team. What a perfect day. Thank you for all your hard work, effort and dedication to ensure you delivered to our expectations. Rooms were beautiful clean and well presented and the bridal suite was stunning. Breakfast was good with a varied selection to choose from.

Superb setting in the Kirkland Suite for our annual presentation dinner. The efficiency of the staff and the delicious food made a very enjoyable evening. We stayed overnight. Our bedroom was rather cool and the water extremely HOT! Nevertheless we slept well and enjoyed breakfast the following morning.

Amazing venue for my friends wedding. The room was decorated beautifully. A good stocked bar but very expensive, which depleted our funds quickly. There were plenty of staff on the bar so we never waited long.

What a great 1 night stay we had when we were there for a Ladies Evening, the catering was superb. A very comfortable night's sleep, and then a very lovely and sumptuous breakfast to get us on our way. Brilliant

It was the perfect wedding venue and we all loved it. It would be 5 stars but the check-in was so late (3pm) and they wouldn't let us go in any earlier, we had to get ready in other people's rooms who stayed the night before. Rooms were beautiful and the bridal suite was stunning. Breakfast was good but there could have been a more varied selection to choose from.

I would be happy to stay here again as the room was as expected, no problems experienced. Can't give it a 5 though as food was very average. Burger lacked an accompanying salsa or sauce, chicken breast served with skin which would have been OK if it had been crisped a bit, vegetables looked nice enough in their little bowl, but a side salad would have been better as this meal was served with chips. Not that expensive, but my preference would be to pay more for better quality. Room only, so didn't try breakfast.

Well what can I say....Amazing, amazing, amazing. We stayed here for our sons wedding day on 16th September 2017. The whole day fantastic! The wedding breakfast was excellent with many guests commenting how great it was. All of the staff were amazing and I'd like to give a huge thank especially to Ann Smith and Chris Wood-nothing was too much trouble-they went above and beyond to make the day extra special. The Sunday morning breakfast was self service and there was a great choice of food. I would definately recommend the Garstang Country Hotel, you won't be dissapointed.

We had decided to hold our wedding here based on the beautiful location and great facilities. We are both so happy we did, the staff went above and beyond, even making some last minute alterations to my wife's wedding dress! All our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and how nice their rooms were. We're really glad that we chose to celebrate our special day here and would highly recommend it.

In the end, I was pleasantly surprised on how good the hotel was. When I checked in and got to the room I was disappointed as to how everything compared to the photos on the website. it is all to with the design of the hotel, long corridors with no windows, rooms with too small windows plus a very 1980's decor which is just not my style. Once I got past all of this I realised what a good place it is. All the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, even reception offered to switch rooms which didn't make a lot of difference as the alternative was just the same! Food was very good both breakfast and dinner. Though I only had a snack for dinner what I could see of other peoples looked good. The only major negative is that the lounge, bar and resturant all seem to be set up for golfers.

Was attending a wedding reception. Lovely location and hotel. Area where the reception was being hosted was very clean and modern. The music area did not encroach this area, so you were able to relax and speak with no loud music hindering this.

What an absolute fantastic Hotel!! Everything for myself, my wife, all our families and friends was perfect. From the Friday evening all the way through to Sunday morning the staff were magnificent! The day of the Wedding was brilliant. The Staff could not do enough for us. I'd like to give Chris a special mention for making the day run so smooth [Brilliant] The food for the Wedding Breakfast was gorgeous and so was the evening Buffet. It was a Perfect day!! Thank you. Used this venue a second time for our conference. Staff all very helpful and friendly and made arrangements to suit 120 delegates in upstairs Dimples Suite and exhibitors downstairs. Food was excellent and very efficiently served on the day. Previous evening conference dinner for ~20 was served on time and very efficiently. Food was excellent with plenty of pre-ordered choice. Quite a number of bedrooms (20+) were booked and in general no issues reported other than several were very warm overnight Hopefully next year the next conference will use these facilities

The country club is in a very pleasent countryside setting with good parking and a pleasing appearance, staff are helpful and the rooms furnished well, there is good selection of teas and coffee for the first drink of the day before a very good hot breakfast in nice surroundings looking across the golf course

Just like to thank all the staff at the hotel for looking after us for 3 days. Friendly staff, all very helpful and accommodating. Rooms clean, a little hot though to be honest, but that would be our only negative. Very quiet room too compared to other hotels we have stayed at. Scott especially was very helpful. Breakfast quite plentiful.

I had my twin boys christening yesterday, the room was decorated beautifully, the buffet was perfect with a great selection, and we were well looked after. Big thanks to Ann who ensured everything ran smoothly. Thanks!

Attended an organised Dinner here, whilst the food was very good the service was very poor, took a long time between courses probably because there wasn't enough staff which i find strange when they know how many they are going to serve, as i didn't want the sweet i asked if i could have ice cream but was told i couldn't as the chef had gone home, i hadn't realized you had to be a qualified chef to put a scoop of ice cream in a dish, so much for customer satisfaction

We recently had our wedding here (23rd July). We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights there was 28 of us the first night and we all got a meal included in our stay which was great value for money. The food was lovely and everybody really enjoyed there meal and commented on how nice the food was. The staff got everybody's meals out to them quick considering there was a large number of us (28 people) all sitting down for a meal together. Some people had the mixed grill and they was really big and looked good, the sticky toffee pudding is to die for!!!The next morning I had breakfast served to me in bed and it was lovely the sausages are HUGE and really nice and I thought it was a nice touch being able to have my breakfast in my room on the wedding morning, The wedding day was brilliant the staff could not do enough for us the room looked lovely and everyone worked hard to make sure everything ran smoothly, people are saying it was the best wedding they have been to, the prices for alcohol was reasonable too considering that most venues charge a fortune for alcohol when there is a function on. The grounds are stunning and we even got to use a golf buggy for a little bit to take some pictures on which was nice of the golfing Centre to allow us to do this:) again the wedding food was really nice and plentiful. the breakfast the next morning was really nice again I couldn't fault it there was cereals, pastries and a full English breakfast to choose from. You could literally eat as much as you liked, we have stayed in many hotels and this is the best breakfast we have had and quite a lot of the other guest commented on how good the breakfast was too. We couldn't fault the rooms the Bridal suite was lovely and HUGE !! Kids had to stay on z beds but this was no problem at all as we knew this was the case because the hotel doesn't actually provide rooms for more than 2 people but if children are staying then they place z beds in the room and charge you no extra for children staying. The hotel is not a modern hotel but this is the reason I fell in love with the hotel when we went for a viewing we wanted something more country like for our wedding day. I would like to say a big thank you to Wendy who had to put up with me mithering her on email for 18 months ha ha everything was perfect and exactly how we wanted it. we received a set of crystal engraved champagne flutes from the hotel too with our names on and date of marriage which I thought was a lovely jesture. Not too far from the M6 and in nice surroundings. Great for a stopover as they have a restaurant on site which was very convenient and staff were excellent. Very comfortable room and fairly quiet until the golfers woke up! Will probably stay here again on our way north.

We stayed as a family of 4 as guests at a wedding here. We had ordered a family room at least 8 months before attending for £105. At 6pm when went to room there was only a double bed. Contacted reception who asked had we booked a family room? They then delivered 2 Z beds and told they don't have family rooms just extra beds. The beds that were delivered were old bent and rickety (ours kids could not sleep properly and woke with bad backs). Our room was tiny and very dated and 2 towels for all 4 of us. The grounds to hotel were nice and that was only positive. Breakfast was greasy and in low supply. Cheap sausage and bacon... overall not worth money. We should have stayed elsewhere and got taxi to and from wedding.

Just spent 2 nights here this week including 2 rounds of golf. It's an ideal venue. The golf club is joined to the hotel so you can come straight off the course have a few beers and walk through to your room. We booked dinner bed breakfast and golf. There's plenty available from a buffet breakfast and the evening meal is a set Table D'hote menu, although you can choose from the normal menu if required. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean & comfortable with tea & coffee making facilities. The golf course is a parklands course with some challenging holes.

Stayed here again for three nights and everything just as good as the first visit. Can't fault the staff, service or anything. From the first hello to the last goodbye and everything in between it was GREAT

My wife and I stayed overnight after celebrating a wedding there during the day. The room had been booked on our behalf by the bride's parents but obviously we were to pay the bill. The reception 'staff' seemed to be totally disinterested in offering any customer service but we just took it that she was a tad busy and didn't have the time to be friendly. On the morning following the wedding, the breakfast menu was somewhat lacking and we were told that food was running out, due to more people staying in the hotel than the hotel had booked in... Odd really as surely a maitre'd has a list of room occupants and just 'ticks' off his list, room number, occupants as theyre being served/seated?? To this end, we didn't take breakfast and decided to check out and get on the road. The bil for one night, special 'weding rate' was £105 which I think was excessive and I wont be recommending, or staying in a Best Western hotel again. Overall we were disappointed with the experience and the somewhat lack of professionalism shown by the staf we dealt with.

exactly as the title says, - we arrived late on sunday night, -this quiet off the main road location meant a quiet restful night, - surrounded by the golf course and the golf driving range there is little outside noise at night, our ground floor room was clean and tidy, beds and linen were spotless and bed was really comfy... we chose not to have breakfast as we had a really early start on monday morning.... monday evening we did choose to have dinner in the bar, - we could have chosen the restaurant but the bar was fine for us...lots of local fayre, local fish, the mixed grill was very good and a real plate full ! burger was good too... fish pie tasty, and mains were about £9- 16 so good quality and good value. service was efficient and attentive. you share the bar with the golfers - their seemed to be a fair few of them eating too , so its seems to have a good reputation locally too... only downside is i couldnt get my phone to connect to the hotel free wifi .... some authenticating issue, but not a major problem really !

We stayed here for one night on a stop over. Our rooms were spotless and the beds large and comfortable. We had a nice quiet nights sleep. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Lovely cooked breakfast.

I didn't stay here, we had a day visit to play golf and a meal in the evening. Enjoyed the golf course which was interesting and well kept. However, the meal in the evening was pretty poor. School dinners were better than this very ordinary and poorly cooked fare. In future I will play golf and then go on to a local eatery.

I stayed here for 8 nights, not for gold but for being in the area for family reasons. The rooms were fine, although the good quality bedding was let down by the rock hard rubber pillows that were supplied. The bathroom taps need updating as they are separate taps and so something that is generally a positive, plentiful very hot water, becomes a danger as there is no mixer. There is a warning notice, but posted next to the shower controls, so you do not see it at the washbasin because of the shower curtain. The housekeeping team was organised and efficient, and the rooms were checked by the supervisor. The restaurant was a different matter. Poor organisation and staff training meant that you were left to the mercy of whoever could be bothered to stop their conversation with other staff to come and serve you. The tables were not properly cleaned and were often sticky. The food varied, presumably owing to the expertise of the person in the kitchen, so the first night I had a good meal, but when I ordered the same dish later in the week it looked and tasted very different. On the Saturday, thinking I would order something easy for the staff to prepare I ordered Potted Shrimps and Goat's Cheese Tart. The potted shrimps came bubbling with steam rising from their container. Someone had microwaved and chewy bits of gristle were bobbing in a vinegary water.. I dsent this back, but was not offered a substitute. The tart had undergone the same microwave experience, so the centre was a molten mess and the pastry was as hard as a brick. I also sent this back. The waitress was inexperienced, so I asked to speak to the Duty Manager the next morning. His response was to rush into the office and hide whenever he saw me coming for the rest of my stay. He did not remove the charge from my bill, but the more efficient lady did on checkout when I explained why I was not paying for those items. The nly rleiable dish was fish and chips. After the first morning when my poached eggs came like leathery eyeballs in a dish. They tasted of nothing uy vinegar and were very overdone. For the rest of the week I avoided the cooked breakfast, but listened to the other guests mon about the cooked items on a regular basis! The coffee was appalling. There were only two members of the restaurant staff who paid any attention to the customers, an older lady who was on for two of the nights I was there and a younger woman called Gemma, who actually checked what was happening and looked after the guests and their tables. I moved to another hotel in Garstang for the rest of my stay.

Nice place to stay only wish I had time to play the golf course. worst mattress I have ever slept on, it needs changing maybe not all rooms are the same?. Great breakfast with everything you want to start the day.

The Golf :- 3 of us arrived following two days of torrential rain, we feared the worst, but were more than pleasantly surprised with the quality of the fairways, and in particular the greens which were very good. We managed to avoid the rain on the following two days, and again the course did not appear to suffer with the wet. On arrival we received a very friendly welcome . We were 23/24 handicappers, and the course is both forgiving with some wide fairways, whilst remaining a good, and interesting challenge with enough trees, features, and two rivers, frequently close enough to some of the greens, and fairways, to cause a problem with stray shots. It is predominantly flat, one hill, with quite a lot of walking from green to next tee, and some long par 4s, if you like to stretch your legs, and plenty of buggies available if you don't. We all thoroughly enjoyed our 3 rounds , and would definitely recommend the course to mid / high handicappers , I can only guess - single figure handicappers might find it easy ish with the wider fairways. The Hotel :- We checked in after a round of golf, ordered our evening meal, and found our rooms to be pleasant, spacious enough, and well stocked with tea/coffee making supplies. You can eat in the restaurant, or bar area, both of which overlook the 1st tee, and 18th green , the food was really tasty, and the staff throughout were all happy, and friendly. Facilities appear to be predominantly set up for societies, and corporate groups, but our small group was fitted in nicely, and we found a very comfortable lounge to relax in with a beer after dinner . The hotel is not large, it was quiet at night ,and a good nights sleep was easy, maybe the nice smooth beer helped . Breakfast was the complete varied juice, fruit, cereal, full English, and help yourself , be advised it is very easy to over indulge, and the first few holes of golf aren't quite so enjoyable. Overall this is a cracking place to take a golf break with some friends, and I would gladly highly recommend the whole package.

Fifteen of us stayed for five nights golf break. First the good points, Lovely Hotel Brilliant food, fantastic staff, nice clean rooms clean towels everyday. great course (if a few holes a bit long)greens very good. I think what makes this hotel the complete package is everyone seems to work together to make your stay so good. the staff really want to make your stay the best it could be. Now the bad points : The weather but you can't blame the hotel there is only one person to blame for that. This is one of the few paces we all said we would definetaly go back to and we have gone away now for 18 years

This is a nice enough hotel. There is pretty good variety in the menus; the staff were all nice and the location handy if you want to stay just off the motorway. We booked a family room. It was very cramped and they had forgotten to put the extra beds in. Breakfast was nice but very little for vegetarians but when I asked they made something, so worth asking. It was clean but a bit dated and worn. I was a bit disappointed as I had expected it to be above the basic chain level. The prices they charge must be based on the fantastic golf access. If you don't want that then you would get better value for the money elsewhere.

Booked afternoon golf, bed breakfast and evening meal, followed by morning golf session! The package was exceptionally reasonably priced! The accommodation was superb and all staffs throughout the complex were warm and friendly. The general ambience was lovely! I can honestly say, it was a superb stay. The golf course itself was in excellent condition and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going back.

We didn't stay here, but the bride, groom and their immediate family did, and only had good things to say about it. The wedding was wonderful; the staff were extremely helpful. Very attentive throughout the day/evening. I required a gluten free meal, and although there was a little confusion initially over which plate was mine, the rest of the day couldn't be faulted. The room had been decorated very nicely, and the staff had accommodated the brides requests. The public areas (I didn't go into the bedrooms) was very clean, well kept. The grounds were very beautiful.

We stayed here 2 nights for a family wedding. The staff were extremely helpful nothing was too much trouble. First night we ate in restaurant food was great news reasonable price. Day of wedding staff again did as much as they could to ensure things went without hitch- even a free room to store dresses etc I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The food was excellent as was rge service thanks to all staff

We had a really great night, the staff were so helpful, during our booking and organising, and on the night. The buffet was excellent, many of our guests, commented on how good it was. Some of us stayed over, breakfast excellent to. Facilities good, nice area at the back to chill out overlooking the golf course. Highly recommend for a party.

Came to this hotel with my partner for my brothers wedding. To avoid a long drive we stayed the night before making our stay 2nights. The first night was dinner, bed and breakfast. We didn't need to book a table for dinner. You could choose from the set 3 course meal or spend £19.95 across the full menu. The food was lovely and the waiter (Matthew) was very attentive. Even brought our desserts out to the lounge where we'd retired too. On the day of the wedding the venue was dressed amazingly and the staff were great. I would definitely recommend this place for a wedding or any stays. The only slight downside was the rooms get very warm at night.

Played course this week very warm welcome on arrival course very quiet, generous wide fairways some interesting holes on front 9 by the river. Plays long obviously have an issue with Greens looks like been suffering from a disease which lets the course down. Has promise very good value for money but it will take a while to recover good venue for a group visit. Food simple and plentiful with lots of choice. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

This was one of the most important weekends for our family, and the Garstang golf club and hotel were wonderful. the rooms were comfortable, the food, al a cart menus, breakfasts and the wedding reception were faultless. But most impressive were the staff, nothing was to much trouble for these friendly and professional people. they made our wedding magical. Both our family's and our friends had a fabulous wedding week end, I cannot recommend this wedding venue enough. Thank you all for a wonderful occasion.

I was shocked by the poor condition of the course. Having played this course several times but not for a couple of years I was totally surprised by the state of the greens. Not just one or two but all of them had a disease on them that made it like putting on gravel pit. Unplayable in other words. Hotel is still as good as ever but stay well away from golf course

Had one night stopover to save an early start from home. Upgraded to a suite for very little extra. Room massive as was the bed which was really comfy. Shower was HUGE with monsoon and side jets. Could very easily have stayed in there the whole time. Restaurant very quiet, staff very attentive. Had drinks & ordered meal from bar then were called through when ready. Don't think you would get this service if it were busy, but we certainly enjoyed it. Breakfast a plethora of hot & cold items which satisfied our requirements with fresh eggs cooked to order. Only negative, we were on ground floor and there were no locks on the windows so although quiet, felt vulnerable leaving a window open at night. View of golf course from room.

We booked the party approx. twelve months ago and was impressed then by the staff and their professionalism. We had previously booked parties at the hotel several years ago and again was then totally impressed by the way everything was organised for us. We would strongly recommend this Hotel and Golf course to anyone and everyone. Such a great place to stay and visit.

We booked our wedding here last march (2016) - right from the start we were impressed by the staff and in particular Wendy who helped us plan our wedding ceremony and reception for march 2017. Nothing was too much trouble and this made our wedding planning pretty much stress free. Our wedding was fabulous and all the managers and staff at the hotel were polite and friendly and helped make our day special. the food was amazing too and we felt the wedding package was very reasonable. The rooms are lovely and breakfast was outstanding. I would recommend this venue as a great place to get married.

We have just returned from a very good two night atay at this hotel. Everything from the first greeting from Reception as we walked in to our lkast good bye was very friendly and professional. We had a lovely twin room which had a roomy bathroom and toiletries replaced each day. Very comfy beds and although the pillows were a little hard for our liking, when asked they were immediately replaced with softer ones. Plenty of tea, coffe etc - So what more could we ask. Thank you to ALL the staff from the duty Managers right through to the Housekeeping staff ALL VERY GOOD.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a wedding party. We were quite a large family group with six adults, two children and an infant. From our observations and experience the wedding was well organised and the staff appeared really helpful. From our point of view we had good accommodation and the rooms were clean and tidy although some are looking a little dated. The food was very good and the bar prices are reasonable although wine - as in most places - was very expensive. The place is of course geared towards Golf too although that never interfered with our event. This gave us the advantage, because the remoteness means it is much safer for younger children as there is no traffic apart from the car park. The car park is quite large and can accommodate large numbers of vehicles. The design of the building also means that the accommodation is away from the main function rooms which gives you some privacy. Note we had a very good time, we had little to worry us and would probably stay here again.

Myself and my husband had our wedding reception here on the 16th July 2016. From the very first meeting to the day after the wedding when we left we could not have been happier with the service provided. Nothing was too much when asked for. The staff went above and beyond for us from sorting out an incident with our wedding cake delivery to helping me be able to breath again in my corset dress!! We are so glad we chose here for our venue. Thank you to Anne, Wendy, James and Chris and all the staff who were there on the day from kerry and Ian

As the Groom I can honestly say the staff are the nicest & most helpful people you'll ever meet. Over the 11 months planning prior to the wedding they were exceptional and always made time for us to come in to chat about our plans,or when we changed our plans it was never too much hassle to accommodate us, and any request we had they always looked into the possibilities rather than just saying no or it's too hard etc. On the wedding day itself it felt like I knew the staff personally and they guided us through the day with no issues whatsoever and once again any little request we made or our guests made they were straight on it to try and resolve or assist. The venue itself was lovely and very clean and comfortable and had a warm feel to it and the food throughout the weekend was perfect. Without hesitation I would recommend this hotel for your wedding and I would like to thank Chris, Anne and all the team (and I mean ALL the team) at Garstang for their truly amazing service and in helping make our day a memorable one. The weather was great and the golf course played really well. Good condition and enjoyable golf. Tony in the shop is full of knowledge about the course and very friendly. Prior to playing I had a full breakfast which was good. The staff are all friendly and the place is really nice and clean. I enquired about staying and the hotel looks really good as well. I booked a room at Garstang Country Club hotel because I was attending a meeting the next day in tis hotel. The decor was a bit dated but the room was very spacious and the bd was very comfortable. The decor of the restaurant was quite boring but the service and food were great. When I m in the area I would stay in this hotel again.

We use this hotel to take a break on our journey south from Aberdeen. It is ideal for use as we are avid golfers and this hotel fits the bill. We were down last March and noticed an improvement this time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We played golf 3 times during our stay and despite the weather the course was kept open by what we observed were a very diligent green staff. I would like personally to thank them as we enjoyed our golf and the course was in good condition despite the weather. The golf offer is one that we would recommend (for golfers) and will stay again, Thank you Garstang

Lovely hotel in great location with peaceful views Pros Clean and tidy hotel Breakfast plentiful no delicious and the restaurant staff wonderfully welcoming All staff came across well presented and friendly General toilets pristine Cons Family of four room- put up beds made room feel squashed so not sure if the family rooms should be in bigger double rooms Tip to visitors: Residents can use the YMCA swimming pool in Garstang apparently. Do visit the charming market town of Garstang Tip to managers Family rooms where 4 are staying should have 4 bath towels and more than 1 toilet roll Would we visit again? If we are in the area then we would stay here again.

I really don't know where to start but just wanted to say thank you to all the staff at garstang golf club for hosting an amazing wedding day for us. They really couldn't do enough for us, the day ran absolutely perfectly and the rooms were so beautifully decorated. The grounds outside gave us the opportunity for some gorgeous pictures too. All of our guests have commented on what a wonderful time they had and how beautiful and elegant the venue was & how fantastic the meal was. We had 120 guests for a sit down meal and it was all spot on and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The bridal suite is absolutely lovely too. Thank you very much to everyone and especially to Wendy who did so much to make the day perfect. If you are thinking of having your wedding here I would highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed! Thanks again, Victoria & Lisa

Best Western hotels can be hit or miss. This one largely ticks the appropriate boxes. What it is not.....it is not a hotel with lots of other things around it. This is a golf club with rooms attached. So if you want to eat or drink elsewhere then a taxi or your own transport will be needed. The rooms are pretty basic and old fashioned. No air con and a single heater in your room - so temperature control is a challenge. There is good wifi throughout (free). The bar/restaurant/breakfast area has (unfortunately) the look and feel of a cafe but the staff are all pleasant and attentive. That area does tend to get a bunch of local people at night - again, its a local golf club. It is a decent enough place.

I'm not normally someone who leaves reviews, but after how helpful practical and altogether brilliant two staff members were last night at this hotel, I wanted to acknowledge our thanks. We have two children 5 and under and had a worst nightmare moment last night when our eldest was 'out of the blue' sick in his sleep at 11.30pm. My husband went to reception for help and Jeff firstly came along, his first thought being did our son need a glass of water and not what a mess! He quickly asked what we needed and shortly after his colleague John appeared with a replacement folding bed, clean bedding etc for our son. Both Jeff and John were very kind in reassuring us that this was no problem and they were happy to help with whatever they could. On a different note we find the room to be clean comfortable and well equipped for us and our children. Breakfast was also fantastic wonderful range of quality food. Would highly recommend to other families.

I booked this last-minute on one of the bucket-shop sites having been cancelled by the hotel we had booked at at very short notice. Availability in the area was scarce - not sure what had been going on in the area? The hotels is fab, easy to find, plenty of parking, the staff were great, the room was lovely and the breakfast was really good. We will definitely stay here again and are looking at booking for Christmas (it's that good). Book with confidence and enjoy :).

Another great stay at the Golf Club, relaxing and great service, can never fault this, nothing is too much trouble for the staff, comfy big beds, I suffer with back issues and never wake in any discomfort when staying here. Great facilities in room tea/coffee/hot choc! large wardrobe and draw space, rooms airy and iron and board in room also great fast Wi-Fi... We visited the Lake District which only took us 40mins from the Hotel, but plenty to see in the surrounding area of Garstang

A lovely hotel with good food and excellent service from the moment I arrived until my departure if only all hotels and staff were as good as this.The peace and quiet and super views over the golf course from my bedroom window.

we attended the evening reception of a friends wedding ,and decided to stay the night the room was lovely overlooking the golf course breakfast was great staff were lovely so helpful would definitely recommend

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks, once working nights and once on days. Usually we have trouble whilst working nights but the great staff here turned their routines around to make up the rooms while we were at work thus letting us get to sleep during the day. The restaurant staff were great and looked after us to a very high standard. I can't wait to go again and would be happy to recommend this hotel to anyone.

My husband and I had the most amazing wedding at this hotel on Friday 16th September thanks to the beautiful surroundings and the hard work and dedication of the staff . Nothing was too much trouble and they went above and beyond the call of duty to make our day special. The assistant manager in particular deserves a special thank you as she was such a lovely person and so very helpful :) Our wedding day surpassed all expectations and for this we will forever be grateful to all at the hotel.

Great for a golf weekend with good breakfast and lovely dinner menu nice course layout and good practice facillities well equipped room with all bathroom requirements catered for, tea coffee and hot chocolate provided in the room

We have just returned from an enjoyable break at this Hotel which is situated on the edge of a Golf Course, even if you are not a Golfer you can certainly enjoy & appreciate the views across the course - so relaxing. We found the Staff exceptional - most helpful and friendly (Especially Anne,Grace,Matt and Gemma) we were looked after very well ! The rooms are in need of an update, but are clean and tidy and have all you need. We found the Meals very good, the choice of food on an Evening was excellent and all cooked to order ! Fish & Chips 10/10 & Steak & Ale Pie 10/10 ! We loved the 'Make your own 'Museli' at Breakfast - a great idea ! The Fresh fruit salad was lovely and enjoyed having the fried eggs cooked to order (Instead of sitting for several minutes in a tray) All in all Breakfast was great ! Thankyou to Everyone for making our stay so enjoyable

We came for our sons really best friends Wedding yesterday Friday 8th Sept, and we thought it was a beautiful setting, the staff and everyone there could not be more attentive. The wedding breakfast was beautiful and the staff very professional.

We have used this hotel a few times and every time had a great stay, staff are friendly and efficient, room comfortable and food very good, overall very good value for money. We will certainly be back.

Needs urgently some renovation ! Food is ok at the restaurant . Breakfast is so and so . It is a quite place the rooms are quite dark and light is needed even in day time ( and it was raining that same day - which is normal isn't it )

We had a lovely double bedroom which led off a galleried Landing where you could sit. A very pleasing room nice furnished and very comfortable. The restaurant staff were very attentive and the food was lovely and competitively priced along with the bar drinks,

Attended a wedding reception at Garstang country Hotel and I was very impressed. Well managed, good polite staff and very good food. Thoroughly enjoyed the day. We stayed over and found a very nice clean room with all you need. Nothing flash but warm clean and well appointed with all you need...breakfast was ample with good variety of choice in a very relaxed atmosphere. Well done to all involved.

We stayed here for one night as a stop over on the way to Scotland. The hotel is dated and to that end the hotel room was stiflingly hot as someone had left the towel rail on and that meant by the time of our arrival at 9.30pm it was so hot. We went to the bar for a drink and only one staff member was serving despite a group of three staff standing at the other end of the bar. It just meant it took a lot longer than it should have. Complete lack of atmosphere in the bar area which is mostly upright chairs and dated sofas. The factor that really lets the hotel down though is the lack of staff. Breakfast was shambolic with a queue of 8-10 people all waiting for eggs (some up to 15 minutes). We had to ask for our hot drinks three times before someone brought them over. Every single item we needed we had to ask for (no plates left, no bowls left, no glasses left, no butter left....) and every time a staff member would come back with an individual item meaning that the next person then had to also ask. Although most of the team seemed to be rushed off their feet trying to help, there is clearly a lack of customer service training or any understanding of how to manage a crowd. On check out we had to wait 5 minutes for anyone to come to the desk. As there was no bell we were shouting to try and find someone. Eventually someone appeared, she had clearly been to the kitchen to get a hot drink, and didn't apologise.

Weather kind, so venue benefitted! Drinks prices not usual wedding venue extortion! Staff good! Pate starter fine, "roast" beef OK, YP good, cauli cheese great (grate?), plenty enough to eat, cheese option sufficient. Staff worked well...big day for key players!!! Rooms good! Shame ours was over "smokers" & taxi waiters din, but a one-off! Shower like an ice rink! Breakfast fine... Enjoyed our time there! Little really that could be improved!

Stayed at this hotel for two nights to attend a wedding which was being held at the venue. The room was comfortable and met our needs. Lovely terrace area that we sat in for the afternoon. Restaurant meal in the evening was lovely. Breakfast the following morning was great, full buffet spread and very good quality. Staff all great and very helpful. Wedding was absolutely fabulous! I personally had an issue with having to show a slip of paper every time I went to the bar, I found this inconvenient and would prefer to show my room card just remember to carry the slip of paper with you in an easily excessible place, not at the bottom of your baby's nappy bag like i did! The location to the food to the staff was absolutely fabulous and a great place to base yourself if you are visiting the area, would highly recommend!

Stayed on a good value deal for accommodation,dinner an breakfast, and a round of golf. Overall very good value for money. The golf course is okay but not as good as it should be, some quite boring greens with no bunkers, poor quality bunkers, but also a good driving range and some quite interesting holes. The room was excellent for the price and the staff all very good. The bar and lounge need some thought, very poor range of spirits, and not very inviting places to sit. The staff however are great, especially Terri Anne, very pleasant and helpful. Bar food is of good pub grub quality.

We used this hotel as an overnight to break a long trip, we should have gone elsewhere. On check in there was no one at reception. We waited 5 minutes before someone appeared and did not even acknowldge that we were kept waiting and felt we were inconveniencing the person checking us in, we should have taken the hint and left then. It was a Saturday evening and expected the hotel to have some sort of function on which it did and this was ok as they had given us a room that was not near the function room, great. We then headed for dinner into a bar area that should be in an Ibis hotel, not a best westeen with built in buffet area on show. There was also no table service for food so you had to order food at the bar with no table number which was interested on explain where you sat. On saying this, although the food was basic, it was very tasty and we enjoyed our meal. The main reason for the poor rating was the rooms and lack of heating control. I am happy for the weather to be hot and understand the building was built pre- air conditioning but if you run a hotel and know you have a hot hotel then you should be able to supply every room with a fan.......this hotel could not. We called down to ask for one and the response we got from the gent on reception was 'if I can find one I will bring it up'. After waiting 45 minutes..... Time not being 11.45pm we called back down and there was no answer so presumed there was no fan coming. We then had to open the window and leave the curtains slightly open to allow air in, this did work. However, the wedding guests from the function were obviously smoking at the front door and were very loud and speaking very obusively on occasion which persisted on and off till 2am. Not a good night sleep! Breakfast was a challenge with little sleep. It was basic but good. I did comment on check out but the receptionist was too interested in checking everyone out.

Excellent location staff very friendly and helpful. Well placed for acces to local village just a short stroll along the canal. Food of a very good standard recommend the steak and Ale pie. Breakfast first class.

From the moment we arrived to the following day when we left we were treated with total professionalism you should all be very proud of yourselves. Stayed one night with my dad (19th July) as part of a golf package. This has been the 3rd year in a row that we have stayed there, and once again we found the hotel and golf course to be absolutely excellent. The hotel staff are always very polite and are as helpful as possible, customer care is very very good. The food on offer is delicious and presentation is perfect. We found the golf course to be in fantastic condition too. It always has been previously but this year it seems to be even better. It is a real credit to all the ground staff. We will be there again in a few weeks. Can't recommend it highly enough!! 5 Stars!! ***** G. Skinner

Booked for work purposes and the fact that it has a golf driving range. Sadly I didn't have time to play the course, but did use the range evening and morning. Huge car park. Check in was easy, my room very pleasant. The window opened for fresh air. The washroom facilities were great. Nice big towels and gallons of hot water. Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Bed comfortable too. Evening meal was very tasty. Steak a little chewy but the veg and salad were excellent. Few nice cool scoops of Becks too. After a decent nights sleep, I knocked 100 balls on the driving range (opens at 8am) and then had breakfast, which was pretty good for self service. Not silly money. Out in a quiet peaceful area. No hustle and bustle. Easy to get onto the M6 and carry on either North or South. Well recommended.

From booking this hotel 18 months ago for my daughters wedding, to checking out the day after the wedding, I can honestly not fault a thing. It is impossible to name everyone involved as all the staff went out of the way to make this a special weekend. But a few people deserve a special mention. Wendy and Chris for planning. They know what works but also accommodated our personal touches. Scott on reception amazed our guests as somehow managed to call everyone by the correct name all weekend. Matt on the bar deserved a medal 32 adults and 8 children from 7months to 7 years all wanted to eat and watch the football on the Friday night. Not an issue we soon had a room of our own set up and had excellent food and service all night. Matt continued to get compliments from guests throughout the weekend. Ann. What a star. The wedding day was run like clockwork with a very personal touch. She sorted out so much for us even helping with the brides dress. The wedding breakfast was faultless and James kept us all in order. I can only thank the whole team for such a memorable weekend. We only got favourable comments from all our guests with some planning to return for weekend breaks. Thanks from a very grateful mother of the bride.

Stayed only for one night whilst we completed a charity golf event. The hotel couldn't do enough for us. We were staying over during our 6 courses in 6 counties charity golf, raising funds for powered wheelchairs for children. The hotel kindly donated our rooms and evening meal and even made us a flask of coffee for our 3-30am start on their golf course. Beautiful hotel great food and rooms and the golf course was in great condition, I will definitely be returning with a group of friends and repay their kindness.

Lovely hotel in a lovely setting. Staff are very professional and efficient. Ample parking and very quiet. Rooms Up to the standard you would expect from a best western hotel, clean and comfortable. Bar/ restaurant , if your looking for a quiet drink and meal this is the place for you. Nothing much happens and the food is again typical of a large hotel. If that's what you like then this is perfect. Beautiful views from the bar across the golf course. Stunning.

About 10 years ago, I read a book called "How to be Brilliant". It had a very long chapter on how being "good" isn't enough if you're a hotel because expectations are so high. It's not enough to have a comfy bed, a bath, towels, breakfast. They are all expectations. The analogy was that it's not good enough to be "good" in business either. The Best Western in Garstang is good. By saying "good" I do mean "just good" and "not brilliant". There is nothing especially wrong to get really worked up about. The room was big, the bed was big (but one of those two single beds pushed together to pretend to be one which is always a compromise and never as good as a smaller "real" double bed.) The curtains are dark but drab and had come off the end setting so left a gap at the edge. The bathroom is ok, nothing special but the water is hot and the pressure is good. The WiFi was brilliant but you'd never have known that from the website. Good signal in my room but only promised in public areas online, so presumably it's variable. The breakfast is adequate (the fresh fruit option was a bit embarrassing to be honest for a modern hotel.) The bed was made up with a winter duvet in summer which was odd even for Lancashire. All in all it was "good" but not "wow". For a business trip. Fine. What I'd change: Buy new towels, the ones you have are very much past their best. Make up the beds for the season. Give the carpets a good clean so everywhere smells super fresh. Give a decent choice of fruit at breakfast, e.g. sliced watermelon, pineapple and berries, at this time of the year, that's cheap to do. Put something in the room to make your guests smile. I read somewhere on here about a guest getting fresh milk, "great" I thought but I didn't get that perk which was a bit disappointing. Some hotels leave a home baked biscuit. Cheap to do but makes your guests think "wow!" All in all as my review title suggests, a touch of the Alan Partridges. I have been to 101 hotels like this and many worse. Will I remember it in a month's time? No. Not even slightly. To be remembered and appreciated for business travellers you need to be a step different. Business travel is dull. Make us feel a little loved and we will be back, otherwise what is there to tempt us away from the decent chain hotels like Premier Inn and Ibis? Would I stay again? Maybe in winter if I remember it exists. The place (and duvet) were so warm with ridiculously hot and high pressure water for the bath I'd probably do so but in summer, no, I wouldn't rush back, I'd try somewhere else in the area because I hate being bored.

We stayed at the hotel for a wedding. We found the hotel room very comfortable, clean and generally great with a fantastic bed. There was free Wifi available. The staff were very helpful and nice. You couldn't fault anything. The food from the wedding was of a high standard served hot. The prices of drinks was also very reasonable.

Possibly the worst meal I've ever eaten out. Sausage was like rubber. Mash had no taste to it whatsoever! Te gravy was disgusting and I usually eat anything I'm given. Prices for what you received is a joke andy can guarantee I will not be returning.

Had a lovely couple of nights here with my fiancé.Rooms are a nice size and have really comfy beds.The golf course is great not too difficult but challenging enough and set in really pretty countryside.Had lunch and evening meals here and the food was well presented and very nice

This is a Lovely Hotel. The Food is Excellent too & the Accommodation. We have been here quite a few times with Family for meals. We go on Christmas Day. My Mother & Father in Law, Sister in Law & her Son stay over at Christmas Time as well. ?? ??????

We took my 83 year old Dad here for his birthday lunch. The surroundings and decor are lovely. There was a venue on for a large party who seemed to be enjoying themselves. I had pre booked a table for four..which surprised the staff. We were shown into a lovely dining room overlooking the golf course. We all ordered the Sunday roast. It was heated up pre cooked food which had seen better days.!! When asked for some mustard..a jar of Colmans was 'plonked' on the table. My Dad has a sweet tooth..so he ordered Apple pie as dessert..this was a limp piece of soggy fruitless pie with custard. This was not to the standards of which we had been led to expect. My Dad had been driven all the way from Kendal for his supposed birthday lunch ....he left very disappointed as it had been so awful. We have now moved into the area and the Golf Club is on our doorstep..and my partner is a keen golfer..but we've rejected offers of further meals as it was so appalling last time.

Last year, after a regular game of golf on the excellent 18 hole course, I purchased an egg sandwich that was advertised as coming with "crisps". On arrival, the small container of crisps contained salt and vinegar crisps. I requested that they be changed to plain, as I have a dislike of flavoured crisps. I was informed by the waiter that the only alternative allowed was black pudding flavoured. As I had paid for an expensive sandwich, and a latte, I asked to speak to the manager. He informed me that I could not have plain crisps as he would have to open a bag, and for some reason he was not able to do this. Over the past fifteen years, my family and friends have spent literally thousands of pounds at the hotel on food. This breach of goodwill left me stunned. Needless to say I will not be buying any more food there, unless and until I receive a complimentary bag of plain crisps, a latte, and a personal apology. To date they are out of pocket to he tune of over one hundred pounds worth of sandwiches.

I got married here on the 27/5/16. All I can say is perfect. Everything was amazing. The whole day went so smoothly. The staff are friendly and bend over backwards to make sure everything you want or need is done. The food was perfect. The grounds are stunning. We couldn't of asked for a more perfect day. The only down side was that the day went to quickly. The rooms are comfy and clean. The bridal suit is gorgeous. I can't pick any faults. Thank you.

We had the pleasure of attending a wedding here at the weekend, and as far as we could see everything went like clockwork.. The room where the ceremony was held was just right and had a lovely feel too it.The gardens and golf course made a great backdrop to the photos. Wedding breakfast was really good, the food cooked just right. We had a pleasant hour or two sitting outside after the meal before the evening got under way with a bottle of wine and coffees. will hopefully be back one day

Booked this hotel as a half way house between the Lakes and the Trough of Bowland. The setting is perfect being right on the first and last holes of a golf course. The staff were all helpful, especially Rachael, who, when I had a message flagged up on my car's dashboard saying "Electronic fault" she referred me to Garstang Motors who dropped everything in a crowded forecourt and put me back on the road within an hour. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. Breakfasts and the evening meals had plenty of choices, with the locals outnumbering guests at night. I would certain book this hotel again..

The hotel is in a quiet location near A6 outside of Garstang. The room was excellent but the normal BW rewards early check-in was not available. The buffet breakfast was good. It was nice to have fresh milk for hot drinks in the room. The only draw back in the room was the extremely hot water with no mixer tap.

We booked into Garstang as a stop over on our way down South. We were interested as they had a golf and board offer. The room was very good overlooking the golf course. We found the dinner on the first day not so good and left us a bit disappointed. It was better on the second day as we chose off the main menu. The golf course was still getting over a very wet spring and was in pretty good condition. We were refused a buggy on the first day as we would finish too late for the person in the shop. On mentioning this to the reception they said they could have let us have one. The shop is no more than somewhere to pay as the stock was very sparse. We might stay again just for the golf.

This was the second time we have stayed and held a meeting here. The staff were very helpful as the booking kept expanding. Due to an evening meeting on arrival we were late getting to our planned meal, the staff and particularly the manager were very accommodating and did not pressure us to finish. The food was most enjoyable and the manager stayed back to ensure that we were catered for. Rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean and had all that was required for a good nights rest. The meeting room was more than adequate for our needs. The location is superb, even if you are not interested in golf, the scenery is good. Overall great value for money and we shall be back.

The driving range and golf course in Garstang could do with some improvement, however, its always maintained well. The driving range, although basic, is spectacular to throw golf balls around and release inner anger.

Another great stay at the Golf club as always. Stayed four nights this time, service great as always and nice to see one of the weddings being set up, as I was going out for the day! perfect place for a wedding with the beautiful gardens I looked out onto from my room, and of course the golf course!

The hotel is located on a golf course. You enter the car park via a housing estate. Plenty of parking. Warm welcome and easy check in. The room was well presented. Free wifi. Evening meal was very reasonable- fish & chips and a Stella £12.95. Check out was swift. I would stay again.

Golf course is still like a swamp, that's October till April. Still have to pay full price no reductions for terrible conditions, man in the shop is arrogant to the point of making you feel like your lucky to be playing his course. Won't be rushing back plenty of other courses around some you don't need wellies!!!! Big dug outs on the 17t h green have been there several weeks now, it's all about taking your money,

Visited here yesterday for lunch. Lovely restaurant all set up. Crisp white tablecloths, green cotton napkins. There were two tables in the restaurant with a total of six people. I attempted to get the lunch menu from the side to be told by a waitress - have you booked ? - no - are you a resident - no - are you a member - no ............ then with a complete look of horror and disgust I was told in no uncertain terms you can only eat in the bar area and are NOT ALLOWED in here !!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE NON EXISTANT . ATTITUDE TERRIBLE The waitress made no effort in trying to get our business in fact was very indigent that I was not allowed in the restaurant. Perhaps only the chosen few are allowed ???? so that will be the reason there was a total of 6 people in the whole restaurant !!! We have just moved to this area and were looking for nice places to eat - this is obviously not one of them. So we took our family and our £200 lunch bill elsewhere CUSTOMERS BE WARNED - DO NOT GO MANAGERS YOU NEED TO REVIEW YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICY - AND EVEN DECIDE IF YOU WANT CUSTOMERS AT ALL

Fabulous catering for a charity event. Bar has an excellent range of drinks and good quality wine. Hotel rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. Ideal venue for many events, the table dressing was fabulous each table had a Disney theme.

Comfortable rooms with good facilities and good food in a quiet location and good road links, easy to get to. Having stayed in a few best Western hotels this is just as expected I was not disappointed.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the hotel for everything they did for my new wife and I on our wedding day. Everything was perfect from start to finish. They could not have been more helpful. The wedding breakfast was excellent and the bacon/sausage barms in the evening went down treat. All in all our day was perfect!! Big thankyou to Wendy for organising it all and to Chris on the day who helped to make sure everything ran smoothly. If you are planning your wedding here, I cannot recommend it highly enough. Thankyou again to all involved.

Had stayed here once before. Got a late winter deal at £49 B&B so excellent value. As a Best Western Diamond member was upgraded to executive room overlooking the course. Fairly basic furnishings but all comfortable enough. Free wifi that proved reliable. Pod coffee machine in room but not the usual biscuit. Helpful receptionist. Brasserie staff OK but a bit inexperienced. Starter of mozzarella and tomato proved to be a rocket salad with a little mozzarella and sundried tomatoes. Not really what I wanted. Decent steak though. Nice guest beer. Happy to visit again.

excellent night. Meal very good and bar prices very reasonable. Many hotels offering this type of package charge silly bar prices and puts you off returning but not so here. DJ was excellent, catered for all age groups and got people mixing and dancing all evening. Additional entertainment was provided by two very drunk and rude couples who spoilt the night for a lot of people by their abusive behavior. Management should have asked them to leave as soon as they fell off their chairs pulling the table and all the contents with them. Broken glasses and crockery flying everywhere. Was amazed they continued to be served at the bar as one lady couldn't even stand! Top marks to the hotel for the valentines package but dining room management a let down by not controlling the situation at the outset. In saying all that, we were lucky enough to be on the other side of the room so not involved and would certainly return and recommend to friends.

large clean rooms, with all you need, cosy fire when you walk in sets a great atmosphere only down side wifi was very hit and miss, which as a business guest was frustrating at times. Food is okay and nice range.

We visited The Garstang Country Hotel last night for a Caravan Club Dinner Dance. The large function room is ideal for numbers upto around 120. Prices at the bar are very reasonable, staff are all polite and know what their doing. There was a very good selection of dishes, each table was served at the same time, everyone enjoyed their dishes. I had a lovely piece of Salmon and my wife had the Roast Beef. It's certainly one of the better venues for mass catering.

2nd time i have stayed here. Nice reception and bar area. I ate in the restaurant, reasonably priced menu with some good food. The only real downside is the rooms a getting a bit tired and could do with a refresh. All staff very helpful and pleasant.

This is a wonderful place to see the New Year in. The rooms are warm and comfortable, the service is second to none, and the food is superb. There is nowhere else we would go for New Year. But....one small complaint this year, the DJ at the Gala Dinner did not play one song from this century; obviously he thought that we were all too old to appreciate music from the 2000's....not true. Otherwise....superb

Ive just been to a ball there and the food was excellent for mass catering, the alcohol was good value and the staff were very helpful. I havent actually stayed here but the decor inside was nice, smart and very comfortable.

Let me be clear, I do not play golf so I am rating this hotel exclusive of all it offers for the golf fan. The rooms are sparse, and basic. The property itself is dull and furnished in a way that reminds me of the 1980's. It's not that there's anything particularly wrong but there's no effort to stand out and excel or be impressive. Food was barely adequate given the prices charged but the deep-fried brie was fried in the same oil as fish (a big no-no in any decent kitchen). I would like to know whether the management are even familiar with this basic fact. All in all this venue gets 3 stars for being very very average indeed.

We went to a birthday party at the golf club and was pleasantly surprised with the whole place. the layout of the function rooms were very good. décor very pleasant. the bar prices were what you would expect in a place like this but the food and service of the food was spot on. tables were layed out well and plates were cleared promptly.

Stayed here for three nights and cannot fault the hotel. The rooms are a good size, the bed even better, and the breakfast is excellent. If you want better than this you will have to find a four star hotel and pay accordingly.

stayed here as part of a works Christmas do with my wife. rooms of a good standard and well equipped. staff at reception friendly and efficient. delicious breakfast brought to our room. A very pleasant stay all round.

i like it here very much i get the best nights sleep anywere even better than home nice surroundings play golf bring your owns clubs if you want to have a go on the driving range they will lend you some basic clubs the breakfst are super very varied menu i have had snacks at lunch time they very nice i have not eaten in the restarunt im allways to late arriving

Booked in for Christmas day lunch with my parents and Auntie. Had a lovely day, food was excellent, not rushed and relaxed party atmosphere. Staff were friendly and restaurant manager very on the ball and attentive. Welcome drinks, fancy hats, balloons, party poppers (nice not tacky) and a visit from Santa were a lovely touch. Free wifi too!

Rachel the receptionist on duty on our arrival was most helpful I had in error only booked for one but she soon changed that to a booking for two, she also arranged and booked a hotel in Manchester for the following night for us All the other staff were very pleasant and helpful during our stay.

Stayed for one night in the run-up to christmas. Hotel was very quiet but warm, cosy room and a clean bathroom with very hot water. Slept well in peaceful surroundings. Late supper was ok nothing exceptional, breakfast same. A good stopover for one night and good value.

For £26, my vegetarian friend had her starter taken off her (Fawlty Towers style) and actually given to someone else, while the spoon was mid-way to her mouth, followed by a "tart" which was actually a soggy quiche on uncooked pastry (therefore inedible), followed by a "cheesecake", which she had to send back because it wasn't a cheesecake - it was a mousse (therefore made with gelatine, therefore not vegetarian) on a biscuit base. No alternatives or refunds were offered. Which meant that all she actually ate for her £26 was some carrots and a few sprouts! It wasn't until a friend intervened to suggest that maybe they could give her some cheese and biscuits, that she had anything to eat at all. The meat -eaters' terrine and roast beef/turkey could have been made of anything at all - as they were tasteless, chewy and bland. The compere made offensive misogynist jokes at the expense of another friend who was fanning herself,offering her patches for her hot flushes (which made me wonder if he also made jokes offering sanitary protection to women too). All in all, a dreadful service and a waste of money.

Staff pleasant and helpful. Food good. Room service quick. Rooms dated but effort has been made to update with quality soft furnishings. Cleanliness of room/bathroom of reasonable standard, but not immaculate. Breakfast - would prefer pot of tea, as opposed to tea bag deposited in a (small) cup.

We booked into this Hotel with high expectations only to be bitterly disappointed.Two of the rooms smelt musty, one the toilet wouldn't flush,surely this is checked when cleaning the rooms.After a night of being kept awake by loud noises from above of doors slamming and shouting,i was looking forward to a relaxing breakfast.(how wrong was i).From the moment we walked into breakfast i felt like a inconvenience to the waiter serving us.well i say serving us we pratically did everything for ourselves.We set up our own table in order for us to sit together.I work in hospitality so this for me was no relaxing breakfast that the other guests around me seemed to be getting.Very poor service and very poor response from the manager who appeared towards the end of breakfast after we raised our concerns.

We booked 4 rooms a couple of which had a musty smell - the rooms were Executive but we found them pretty basic. We had a very poor breakfast due to the indifference of the 1 guy running it - food was OK but that's about as far as it goes. Would not return.

The visit was enjoyable, stayed for 4 nights. Had been previously to a wedding some 6 years earlier. Although clean it is looking tired and could do with freshening up, bit of paint etc... Food was good in the evening and at breakfast..... Room was comfortable even though we got single beds instead of a double bed as requested but didn't spoil our stay......

Warm and friendly, clean and smart, good food and a great place to head after a long days work. Nothing is too much trouble for the team, they are so accommodating and friendly. The venue is a quiet location too - always helps for a good nights sleep!

This is becoming a regular hotel when I am on business in the area, The hotel is part of a Golf complex with a floodlit driving range and Golf course. The welcome is always professional and friendly, the rooms are of a good size with full size bathrooms. The food in the evening has always been good and reasonably priced, thanks to all concerned.

Two day leisure stay in November. Good sized and comfortable room, friendly helpful staff, enjoyable restaurant experience, simple, attractive furnishings. The hotel is convenient for the lakes, Blackpool, Ribble valley (AONB). Their own golf course looked well kept.

Stopped overnight with another couple while travelling to Edinburgh. Good location off the M6. The staff were very helpful. Had an excellent meal in the restaurant and the service was excellent. The staff were efficient and friendly and I would certainly return.

Another great stay again at the Golf club, staff excellent and loved the new look Bradbeer! very busy with meetings and functions while we were there, but as always no noise disturbance in the room, which is one of the things I like about the hotel. the room was clean and well equipped, really good powerful showers, iron and board in room no need to ask for one, nice view over the gardens this time, breakfast good as always plenty of choice. We had a day trip to Scotland, arriving back late after 10pm, we ordered some food at the bar which was no trouble at all! the young lad Chris on that night offered to bring the food to the room when ready, which was great!

We played a round of golf before booking into the hotel and were disappointed with both the layout and condition of the course. The greens had been heavily cored, a fact which hadn't been explained to us at the time of booking. The layout lacks vision with wide open fairways and long walks between greens and tees which are made more difficult due to the lack of signage. Check-in to the Hotel was friendly and efficient and the bedroom was well equipped and comfortable. One off-putting feature was a slightly musty smell (room 6) which we could not pinpoint. The restaurant and Bistro provided a very enjoyable dining experience both at dinner and breakfast. The menu offered a good choice of dishes and food was well presented and tasty. Overall a very enjoyable stay and whilst we would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to potential guests the same cannot be said of the golf course.

Just a quick note nice hotel, very friendly staff and it is clean and tidy. (Apart from the fly's/wasps in the light fitting. The restaurant has a good variety and is really tasty. A recommendation for anyone especially if you like golf ( not like me ). Keep up the good work.

Clean & Comfortable room with view over surrounding countryside. Breakfast was nice. Bar prices reasonable. Evening meal was good, but I couldn't manage all the potatoes I was served with. Service was excellent and all staff I encountered were helpful. My only criticism is that as a blue badge holder, my room was furthest from the lift along the corridor; I suspect the hotel; had not been advised of this fact or I would have been allocated a room nearer the lift. There didn't seem to be provision to enter this when booking on line.

I booked this hotel last year for a four night stay for our golfing society golf week. Twenty three of us stayed at the hotel and everyone had nothing but the highest praise for the staff and service we received. We each had a double room for single occupancy that was excellent, the food in the hotel was first class and in the bar there was a good range of beers to choose from. It's a super place to stay and has everything you could want.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a 'mini-break' in Lancashire. The rooms are very nice and spacious. The bar and dining area has recently been updated and was very comfortable - 2 cask ales available in the bar which was an added bonus for me. We ate their both nights and the quality of the food was excellent.
