    « Not what I expected »

We were driving back home to Arizona and got late so we pulled into this best western location. The entrance was hard to find being far from the highway. Parking was far from building and kind of scary at night. Desk clerk was texting away and did not greet us we had to ask for rates. Our room was clean and typical you find elsewhere. Shower pressure was weak, had to wait few minutes for hot water. We didn't have time to eat breakfast but saw they had mediocre food (rather pickup mcd's). My suggestion: keep on driving to better places than gallup, new mexico

« Great place to stay »

The staff was very nice and rooms very clean. We had a great stay and will stay there again. They have a good hot breakfast with a good choice of hot and cold food. The room we had was spacious and clean and had fast internet connection.

    « Good Buy »

Gallup is not Santa Fe, but the BW Hotel is right up there in convenience, style and comfort with all the other mid-level hotels. The hotel is an easy walk to dining and shopping. This hotel really knows about travelers -- lots of outlets, plenty of room to work on a laptop and the TV is superb. Couple all of that with a scrumptious breakfast and you've got a good deal. By the way, the front desk staff is very helpful and very pleasant.

    « very clean! »

We were very impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel, and the staff was very friendly upon our arrival at 10:30 pm. The indoor pool looked very inviting, however our time schedule didn't allow us to enjoy a swim or the breakfast.

    « The very best! »

Stayed at many Best Westeen motels and this is the VERY BEST! We Highly recommend this location. The morning breakfast had a nice variety to choose from. Staff was very courteous. Rooms were spacious and clean.

    « clean quiet room »

nothing fancy, but a clean quiet room. it served it's purpose for my overnight stop in gallup. it had free wifi and free breakfast and also free parking. the staff was friendly. the set up is a little unusual that the lobby and entrance and check in desk are located far away from the parking area.

« Great choice in Gallup »

This was a new Best Western property with a great location right off Interstate 40. It is the nicest Best Western we have ever stayed at. The staff was very gracious on check in, Titania and Shane helped us to the point of taking me out to the sidewalk to point out the liquor store. The room was extremely comfortable the bed was great. There was an indoor pool and spa. All furnishings we very tasteful. Breakfast area was very well furnished. The breakfast was excellent as well.

« New property - best place in gallup »

This is probably the best hotel in Gallup, hands down. Its a brand new property and they have top notch service, I have stayed here 3 times now. We actually choose this over Hilton garden inn, why? comfort, the beds are so cozy and relaxing. the front desk staff are there to answer any questions and don't have attitude, very nice manager assisted me several times with things I needed. I highly recommend this property.

    « New Facility »

Built within the past year, this is a beautiful hotel. The staff is very pleasant and service oriented; the checkin was a little slow, there was no rush. I would definitely return to this location for another stay.

The staff was very gracious upon check in Titania and Shane helped us to the point of taking me outside and pointing out the liquor store location. Breakfast was just fine clean and hot.A great stay overall

« Driving Folks South for the Winter »

Very nice new hotel, very comfortable and quit room. Would recommend this hotel to any one going through Gallup. Breakfast area provided privacy along with a area that you could socialize if you liked.

    « Excellent for Gallup »

This is an essentially new property and is an excellent choice for a stay in Gallup, either overnight or for a period. We were part of a large group which stayed for three nights. Breakfasts were excellent, rooms were clean and comfortable.

    4
    « A good choice »

We stayed here for 1 night. Our welcome was friendly and the service we received was good. We had a huge suite with 2 rooms. The beds were comfy. There is a nice large breakfast area with all the normal fare. Its a good choice if you are in the area.

    4
    « No towels »

No hand towels, bath mat or wash cloths. Called front desk and was told I had to go down to get them. They only had hand towels and was told the rest would be delivered later, but never came. Young man at front desk was the only staff member I saw. I guess he couldn't leave desk. Staff member at front desk was very nice and tried his best to do all he could.

    « Great Best Western »

On a long car trip from Dallas to Sedona we stopped in Gallup for the night. Best Western had the best reviews so we stopped there - so glad we did. My husband was so surprised - friendly desk staff, clean room, comfortable bed, great shower, extensive breakfast. Great value for the money!

« In a city with poor to no accommodations, this place is a good find »

Recalling the years ago that I travelled through Gallup, I remember the conspicuous absence of hotels. Being a major train junction there are huge 4 to 6 engine freight trains passing through Gallup steadily all day and night. For this reason, Gallup is not a good spot to put a motel. Recently, this Best Western Hotel popped up and we booked it for a night while looking for Navajo rugs. What a surprise. Gallup still has a crime problem because of the surround areas of poverty but the travel corridor seemed much better maintained. This is a well built, modern, quiet, well appointed building with special consideration to sound proofing. I thought I had the wrong place when checking in. This can't be Gallup...? Indoor pool and Jacuzzi, free breakfast in a large "built-for-breakfast" room, extremely comfortable and quiet room, large bathrooms, good towels, on and on. I knew that someone was paying attention when building this property. It is built one street back from the old Route 66, now the I-40 Business, letting the street front hotels take the brunt of the train noise. The elevators (two side by side) are actually cable lifts so they are quiet, quick and smell free, unlike noisy stinky hydraulic units usually used in a 4 story structure. The Ice and vending machines are placed back in alcoves off the main halls to reduce the normal noise of compressors running all night and the heat from the ice making process. Like I said, attention to customer comfort is a priority. If you want to get a good nights rest while on the old Route 66, you no longer need to shy away from Gallup.

« Traveling Through New Mexico »

A very nice Best Western Plus. Nicely decorated rooms and breakfast area. The staff was every friendly and professional. The only problem I encountered was several trains came through and would blow their whistle. Now the hotel can't control that, but I would ask for a room on the opposite side of the front desk location.

    5
    « Good Stay »

Wonderful staff. Very nice clean hotel. I would stay there again. The best hotel i have stayed in for the money. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants quality lodging. Again, the staff was very professional,

« Best Western Gallup is the Best »

Rory the manager went out of his way to help us. We were arriving late via Amtrak in Gallup and he picked us up in his own car. he also took our daughter to Walgreens to get some medical supplies she needed. Hot tub and pool perfect temperature. Waffles and other hot items at breakfast. Quiet. Nice bed.

    « A Night in Gallup »

Hotel has clean, comfortable rooms. Manager is accommodating. Any problems are addressed immediately and corrected without hesitation. Very well appointed and decorated rooms with clean rooms and comfortable beds. Access to the hotel is somewhat challenging. Nice breakfast room but it doesn't seem to be laid out well and items are difficult to find and not necessarily situation so everything flows. We enjoyed the experience but also noted several other guests were challenged locating breakfast items and utensils. Breakfast attendant did an excellent job of replenishing everything so there were fresh offerings of every item all the time.

« Excellent service and very nice, new facilities »

This hotel was a stop on a big circle tour including Phoenix, El Paso, Santa Fe, Gallup and Show Low. The staff are very friendly and extra helpful. The hotel is fairly new, we asked for an upgrade and got what amounts to a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. The pool and hot tub were very nice, and breakfast was great. The breakfast room is nicely furnished, with a row of plush, extra highback chairs in the middle of the room, very comfy. I would recommend this as one of the best Best Westerns that I've stayed in in a very long time.

« End of day retreat »

After a busy day of touring through northern Arizona, we were happy to show up with our reservation at the BW Gallup. The check in process was very smooth and the clerk was most helpful in assisting us - both in what we needed for the hotel and also directing us to a good eating establishment for dinner. The room was quiet and comfortable - and very clean...we were quite happy with it. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent, and while it was the usual motel fare, was presented well, was hot and tasty. I'd not have any qualms about staying here again.

    5
    « Ask for an upgrade ! »

We got into Gallup around dinner time, were greeted warmly and efficiently and when we asked for an upgrade, were provided with a one bedroom suite, including kitchen and living room in this brand new hotel. The hot tub and pool were clean and well kept. The room doors slam very very hard and this lead to some disturbance during sleep. They are heavy and probably designed to close hard, but would not want my fingers caught in them. The breakfast was hot, excellent choices, well attended. Busy spot but guests were great to eat and get up as required to let others sit down. This is an easy hotel to get to and get back on the road to.

    4
    « Out West Trip »

Good quality hotel. Very clean and a good breakfast. Was a nice stop on our family driving trip out west. At check in we asked about a recommendation for dinner and were given a good choice that was close by with great food and music.

    4
    « Wonderful Stay »

The staff here are great! After a long day of driving the front staff gave us a good comfortable room and gave us excellent suggestions for dinner. Room, internet and breakfast were very good. The morning staff made sure the breakfast was served on time and greeted everyone to see if they needed anything else. Check out was easy.

    4
    « Nice modern hotel »

Very smart new looking hotel. Unfortunately although our stay was pre-paid the computer said 'no'. It was a hassle really as this was the 3rd chain hotel in 1 week this had happened. Good job we had the print out to prove it was pre-paid. After that plain sailing. Room very nice, top floor as requested overlooking the El Rancho hotel which was well worth a look around itself. Had swim in pool, lovely temp and enjoyed that as being only people in there. The bed turned out so comfortable we slept all night through - a first for us on our road trip! Actually took the name of it as it was so comfy. Liked the fact it had a blanket instead of the usual hot heavy comforter. Makes such a difference! Breakfast fine. Overall a very nice 1 night stay, would certainly return again.

    5
    « Perfect »

We had a great (huge) king suite on 4 th floor. Room had everything needed, bed was excellent. Some noice but this is a main rail and traffic route. Breakfast was good although needed another toaster as very slow. Perfect for an overnight stay.

    5
    « A Favorable Place to Stay »

Having stayed in this motel probably 30 times or more since it opened, I have found it to be a favorable, friendly place. While I have gotten to know much of the staff, before getting acquainted they always greeted me warmly and caring about my stay. I have observed them patiently dealing with difficult "check-ins" and they handle it well.

    5
    « Awesome! »

Hotel personnel was very professional and courteous. They were very informative with the surrounding area and suggested a great place to eat and visit. . My overall stay was comfortable, clean and relaxing. Thank you Best Western, Gallup!

« Great new hotel in Gallup »

We loved everything about the BW Plus in Gallup from the friendly service to the décor and to the excellent breakfast. We totally recommend this hotel. The price was friendly, too. What a great addition to the hotel choices in Gallup.

    « Nice clean stay »

This hotel is very nice. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was quite good. The parking is in a secure lot . There are cameras all over the place to ensure safety. there was a fire alarm in the evening but no one panicked and it turned out to be a false alarm

    5
« Bright, clean and a new property »

While traveling cross country we had the pleasure of staying at this property twice. The hotel is new construction and was done very well. The rooms have great lighting which is rare to find and are very clean and comfortable. The rooms are larger than average and well appointed. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar provided hot and cold items which were good. Being in the old town area access to everything on old route 66 is easy. We have always had good experiences at Best Western Plus hotels and this was one of the best.

    5
    « nice place »

First time at this Best Western in Gallup, New Mexico. Hotel is new and everything is very nice. Rooms are clean, breakfast has enough variety for anyone. Staff is great. Will stay here again. Best to book online for best price.

« Return Trip Home to CA. »

This is my second staying at this property in 3 months. The hotel is always maintained in a clean manner, and the Staff is very friendly and Profssional. The room was clean and quiet, ready for a restful night of sleep. Nice having the coffee maker in the room ! I highly recommend staying hear -centrally located, within a block of a grocery store !

    « Beautiful Newer Hotel »

My neighbors were a bit noisey in the adjoining room. And, the hotel staff was very neutral, not friendly or particularly helpful. However, the room was great and comfortable. I would recommend not having a room on the first floor. The side entrance with key card was very handy to the parking lot.

    5
« Excellent place to spend a night. »

I have stayed here three times now while travelling through Gallup and have always been impressed by this hotel. Every experience with any employee has been pleasant and professional. I would recommend this place to anyone travelling through or spending a few days in NM.

    4
« Very clean and comfortable »

We stayed here one night while passing through Gallup. The room was very clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was good- nothing fancy, but enough variety to choose from. We were impressed by the overall quality of this hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

    5
    « First Class »

This hotel surpassed my expectations. Everything was very clean,. staff were helpful. . Bed comfortable and bathroom very clean and well stocked. comfortable. Staff recommended a good place for dinner. Location near I-40.

    « Good hotel! »

Needed a hotel late at night, so happy found this one! Rooms were new, clean and comfortable! Very pleasantly surprised. Breakfast was good and fresh. Hotel is very convenient and easy on/off interstate.

« Clean hotel, with good amenities »

We initially planned to stay at another famous hotel in Gallup, but the reviews were not very good. We were very pleased with the Best Western. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was exceptionally clean. A standard self serve hot breakfast was included with the room. We gave 4 stars because some of the hotel staff were not as friendly as we are used to. We would, however recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to book there again

« Softball tournament in Gallup, NM »

We had a great experience staying here. The pool water was warm and clean, the room was very comfortable, and the staff were all very friendly, very helpful when needed. And walking distance to the parks' softball fields!

« Very good for business »

Not so much for leisure. We went there for an overnight stay with ours boys. The hotel is very nice and bran new. The staff are very welcoming and manager is quite nice. Room perfect except the AC is too close to the 2nd bed. I would recommend strongly for a business stay.

    5
    « Immaculate!! »

We stayed here for one night as part of our Route 66 trip. We were actually booked to stay in another hotel in Gallup but the reviews were so poor we decided to book another BW as they have been great along our trip. The hotel is perfectly located in what is a small but worth a visit place. Lots of freight trains running through Gallup but the noise was minimum due to great double glazed windows. The hotel is immaculately clean, with modern decor. The staff were very welcoming & friendly. The breakfast was well stocked with lots of choice & all very fresh. We didn't use the pool or fitness centre but they too looked well maintained & clean. We really enjoyed our stay here. 5 stars for sure ;-)

    4
« Thin Walls for Noisy Neighbors »

This is a fairly new hotel and the second time that I stayed here. The staff are not very friendly, just all business. Not that that is a problem. I found that the mattress was a bit soft for my back. Other Best Westerns (5) that I stayed at on this trip had firmer mattresses which are better for me. My room was on the first floor which was very convenient to the parking lot via a secure side door. My only problem was very loud neighbors. I did NOT complain to the front desk, so I have no complaint with the hotel other than the walls are not insulated enough. The breakfast was typical and adequate for a Best Western. The WiFi worked well with no problems.

    4
    « Great Nights Sleep »

The lady at the front desk was very nice. The rooms are in very nice condition and the beds in our room very comfy. I tend to be sensitive to detergents used, these days, and found the bedding very tolerable, not too perfumed.

    5
    « Awesome »

Very nice facility. Awesome, professional, courteous staff; from the housekeeping staff, to the individual preparing the breakfast, front desk personnel to the manager . Off the main street, quiet. Very comfortable beds. Convenient to Coal Ave (downtown) shops and not that far from Red Rock State Park. Easily accessible parking

    5
    « Friendly, pleasant stay »

I stay in this motel about 2 nights a month and have always been treated with utmost courtesy and helpfulness. I find it clean, convenient and courteous. I am happy to highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in Gallup. The breakfast is well displayed, but is a typical motel breakfast.

    4
    « Great »

Very nice staff and the room was very comfortable. The outdoor light was a bit annoying and shine bright all night. Otherwise this was a very clear and nice place to stay. The breakfast was great and the guy who ran it was awesome. Thanks for doing a great job. We will be back.

    5
« Great stay, friendly and very helpful staff. »

Hard getting off I40 to the main road, best to turn right and make a U turn or you wait forever for a break in the traffic to turn left. Other than that guiet, pool was at a nice temperature, staff very helpful.

« New Hotel, poor service »

I booked 3 rooms in this hotel through a 3rd party for 1 night. Two of our rooms did not have functioning A/C (needed in July). The following morning I went down for coffee and I discussed this with Rory, the manger, he stated that he would adjust my bill. I told him I will be checking out in an hour. when it came time to check out Rory was gone and I was told he would not be back until afternoon. The clerk stated that he needed to make the adjustments. Later that day Rory and I spoke on the phone and he stated he was not going to adjust my bill because "you booked through a 3rd party already were given our lowest rate". He would not give me an adjustment. This is my concern: it should not matter what "rate" I pay for a room. It was advertised and "sold" to me for the night with A/C. If the A/C does not work I did not get what I paid for and should be compensated. It is too bad, because this hotel daily new and I was impressed with it before I went to bed. I suspicion is that they have technology problems and know that certain rooms have issues and rent them to "3rd party" travelers. This way they still got $89 for a defective room.

« Downtown, updated but a bit noisy »

nice updated locale in the heart of Gallup..a bit noisy on the streetside but a very nice place.....Gallup itself is a bit hard to get around in and all of the other hotels and eateries are down at the next exit...the are I was in would be classified as downtown ...I noticed some area residents that would prevent me from taking a walk at night....my opinion

    5
« Brand new property - huge and clean suite. »

We stayed at this hotel after a whole day of hiking and exploring the Petrified Forest National Park. The staff at check-in was really friendly. We booked a one bed room suite, which was huge (about 650 square feet) with a separate living room and a nice kitchen (huge frige, dishwasher, big microwave, ...). Everything was clean and brand new. The rate was very reasonable for what we got. The hotel has a small pool area (but we didn't have time to try it out). Breakfast next morning was OK (nothing special), but it helped you get your day started.

    « Helpful »

Very nice and relaxing hotel. Helpful staff. Easy access to a clean comfortable room. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was superb. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends.

    4
« Great hotel in a crummy town. »

Had no idea what to expect in Gallup (one of the famed route 66 towns). Stopped on the way to Santa Fe. Driving through Gallup there were a lot of shabby looking places, and suspicious characters - kind of place you don't want to walk the streets at night. We were very happy to see the oasis of Best Western - very nice hotel. However, the town not worth visiting (in my opinion). The El Ranch hotel across the street was interesting to see - other than that, not sure why anyone would stay in Gallup.

    5
    « I'll Be Back »

I was so comfortable here I was very sad to leave I wanted to stay longer. The help here was very friendly and extremely accommodating. The hotel was convenient to the interstate off and on was easy. The manager was quite nice and I liked that he was knowledgeable of my needs. I also like that he use to play football. I come from a big football family.

    5
    « Comfortable Stay »

Our stay at this hotel was a last minute decision. We were on a road trip, and had never been to Gallup. We stopped there on our way to Four Corners Monument after a visit with family in Alamogordo. Our room was beautiful, and much more than we expected. We had stayed in other hotels along the way, and were not expecting anything other than a good, clean room with a comfortable bed. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we would definitely stay at this hotel again if we are ever in Gallup. Highly recommend.

    5
    « awesome hotel »

always stay at best western, but, this was the first stay at best western plus. GREAT STAY!! we had an accessible room because my elderly grandmother was with us. the room was huge. shower was easily accessible for her. beds were AMAZING! ! ! breakfast in the morning was great.! ! saved us $40 by not having to go to dennys ;-)

« This BW is the best I've stayed at! »

The rooms are very spacious and had plenty of drawers/desk/comfortable sitting chair and ottoman. The decor was extremely updated, very modern and bedding very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast had a good assortment of food. It was great to have a BW accept dogs, too, as most do not. I will definitely return to this hotel whenever I am near Gallup.

    4
« Good and Clean Hotel »

The receptionist was very accomodating. We liked our room and the colors of the hotel's interior is just perfect. Vibrant but not too bright. They offer free breakfast and is good so that we don't need to go far.

    5
    « Looking for a good night's sleep »

What a clean, comfy and welcoming place to rest for the night! The woman working the front desk was so helpful and welcoming giving advice on places to snag dinner. The beds were firm and so perfect for curling up. We had a great stay and enjoyed the breakfast down stairs. The gentleman tending to the breakfast area was a rock star and kept everything to clean and stocked up. This hotel is top notch and the staff does a great job making it the best.

    « B/W GALLUP, NM »

Personnel were very courteous and helpful. The room was what you would expect from a Best Western. Clean, nice decor and well planned. As with all chain operations of this sort there should be an inspector or head of maintenance that gives the rooms a thorough inspection on a regular basis. The toilet and sink faucet were loose from their mountings. We are regular customers of B/W and a rewards member.

    4
    « Travel New Mexico »

It was a very clean hotel and friendly staff. It is very helpful to have staff that can give good information. A great place to visit. Lots of friendly people in restaurants and the hotel. I would consider booking it again.

    4
    « Very Clean »

Great hotel in Gallup New Mexico, which has been recently updated and is very clean. The personnel are very friendly and pleasant and the breakfast was very nice. Would highly recommend a stay in this hotel.

    5
    « Clean and Comfy »

Shane at the front desk was helpful, friendly, and pleasant. My room was spotless, quiet, and comfortable. Great lighting. The hotel is only two blocks from the Internet--far enough to eliminate all traffic noise but close enough to be convenient. There is a gas station on the corner and a Mexican food restaurant across the street. Free breakfast and free parking. Room includes fridge, microwave, coffee maker.

    4
« a solid choice if you have to stay in gallup »

The hotel looks like its either brand new or has recently been fully renovated. The lobby and breakfast area is very nice, clean and presentable, with different options offered for breakfast. The room we were assigned was very spacious, and clean and included a microwave and refrigerator. Whoever picked out the interior furnishing did a wonderful job as the colors were very nice with reds, greys and pops of color like yellow and blue. The furnishings in the room were a treat with the varied color palate. The area near the elevator on our floor needed a little love, with the wallpaper picking up a bit on the walls and near the call button. As long as they stay on top of things and maintain this hotel, it will stay a real treat.

    4
    « A nice place to rest....great staff »

We stopped for one night here....the room was large and temperature control worked well. Slept well...complimentary breakfast was ok. The lady at the front desk placed my cold packs in the hotel freezer as our room's fridge did not have a freezer. Left the hotel and were on our way about 15 miles east when I remembered I had left my rings on the nightstand. Called and drove back.....my rings were waiting for me at reception. I was indeed grateful for the honest staff. We stayed July17.

    5
« Best place to stay in Gallup! »

Gallup has not been my first choice for a place to stay the night, but this Best Western has certainly boosted the city's rating. The staff and facility could compete with many places best My compliments!

    5
    « Wonderfully comfortable room »

This is my last stop on a solo road trip that has taken me a month...this room is by far the best in which I have stayed. The pillow top mattress is divine. The AC is on pointe, the bathroom is roomy and well appointed. I highly recommend this hotel.

« Clean Room with Awesome TV »

I was very satisfied with the quality and cleanliness of the room. The television had an awesome picture quality with many, many channels. The only negatives I would point out is that when you enter the hotel from the parking lot side the stairway could have used a sweeping. The breakfast was also not as nice as described. There were only a few items to choose from.

« Hotel snob that approves of this place! »

I'm a germaphobe and a cleanliness snob- I prefer staying at Hampton Inns or Marriotts and this place was better than even some of those places I've stayed. Super Clean (and I'm nit picky) , less than a year old, the breakfast was great; beds comfy, will stay here again!

    « Quiet, pleasant »

We were especially pleased that the windows opened and had screens for the lovely early morning, and the lighting was excellent. Pretty rooms, nice bathroom (except the shifting toilet seat and no bulb in the tub light). Breakfast was the standard pre-fab but at least we found fresh bananas.

    « Wonderful hotel! »

Super clean, large, comfortable and beautiful rooms--secure and quiet. Free wireless internet. Free breakfasts were very good with a variety of choices thanks to the attentive staff. Overall an excellent experience including the bill. I have paid much more elsewhere for much less. Definitely will stay here again when visiting family.

Hotel very good and the staff very professional and friendly. The rooms were very clean, the TV was great, and the internet was very fast. The hotel is located in a very convenient location and is easy to get to and from relative to the interstate hiway.

    « Fantastic!! »

My husband & I relocated and our Penske truck broke down on Thursday June 29th. We were exhausted & discouraged. We spoke to & were greeted by Laberta! One of the most pleasant & helpful people we had encountered on our entire trip! To top it all off the room was WONDERFUL! Bed was comfortable, bathroom great, shower perfect, very clean, lots of plug-ins for charging & easy access to them, breakfast delicious & hot, and hotel easy to get to. We wish we had had that room, and Laberta, during our entire trip from IL to AZ! Thank you, Kathy S.

    « Nice Stay »

We stayed as we were passing through on our way home from Indiana. The Hotel was clean and all the staff was extremely nice and accommodating. We had previously stayed at a horrible Best Western in Indianapolis and was wary of staying at another. They did a much better job than their sister Hotel

    « Great sleep »

The room was very nice and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the surrounding noise was minimal. I was reluctant to stay in Gallup but this area was very nice and safe feeling. We were exhausted after driving all day and both slept extremely well.

The room was clean and the air conditioner was quiet. Beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was nice, scrambled eggs and sausage. The waffles were a little chewy and dry. The hotel is decorated nicely.

    « Thrilled in NM »

On our return drive from CO to CA we were a little hesitant to stay in Gallup, but were pleasantly surprised! The manager upgraded us to a suite, which kept that special vacation feeling going. He also recommended the historical El Rancho Hotel restaurant next door which was outstanding! Good food, great service and authentic atmosphere! We stay at Best Western Plus whenever available and this one in Gallup was one of the best. Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean and safe!

« Looks nice but sounds not so nice »

I'll be brief. The hotel looks very nice. I stayed in a double queen suite which was spacious and nice. But they built this hotel cheaply in terms of sound insulation. This means you hear every step from upstairs, you hear every door close/slam, and hear your next door neighbors in their normal activities (talking at moderate volume, tv, closing drawers, etc...) If you're a light sleeper, go somewhere else. If you're a heavy sleeper, you'll love this place. So that's why I rated it average overall. Next time i'm in town I'll try other hotels before coming back to this one. Also note: the parking lot isn't very friendly for vehicles towing other vehicles. It has a quick incline to the raised lot meaning you'll bottom out your hitch or worse. Also, hotel backs up to a well worn neighborhood. Investigate on google maps and you'll see what I mean.

« New Hotel, Modern Decor, Pet friendly »

The hotel is impressively clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. There is a 20.00 dollar fee for each pet. there was no areas of grass for dogs to relieve themselves except concrete and rocks. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding. The indoor pool area was clean but the pool itself was small, you could not do laps. The hot tub was nice and hot with powerful jets, but only fits about 4 people. The room was clean and comfortable and over all we had a great experience.

« New Hotel with Horrible Customer Service »

I booked through Priceline Express Deals. And got a terrific deal! The Express Deal allowed me to pick my room type. All rooms were priced great but priced differently based on the room type. I picked a suite - the most expensive option available, even though it was still a terrific deal. First - pros - hotel looks brand new and breakfast was amazing. From what a couple came down and said, the suites are terrific. BUT I wouldn't personally know what the suite looked like even though I paid for one. I was put into a two queen room. After looking at the room, I went back to the front desk and asked why I was in a regular room. The front desk told me that was what I booked. So I showed him my confirmation that showed "2 queen suite". The gentleman working the front desk told me that there were different types of suites, some only included a sofa bed in addition to the 2 queens. I replied that my room didn't have a sofa bed. So the front desk gentleman told me that the rate I paid was not enough for a suite and that it really wasn't even enough for their basic room. He blamed Priceline and told me to call them to figure it out but my rate would not get me a suite. He then told me that NO Best Western Plus would charge that little for a room. I showed him my other hotel confirmations for rest of our vacation that were all at Best Western Plus' and had rates LESS than what we were paying at this hotel (this hotel was the most expensive during our week long - half-cross country road trip). So because I got a good deal, booked and prepaid MONTHS in advance, I did not get the room I paid for (the regular rooms were LESS than what I paid on the Express Deal for the suite). I left with an extremely sour taste because of the complete lack of customer service even though the hotel was beautiful. Bottom line, unless you're paying 100% full price for their suite, don't count on one, even if they are giving you the deal through Priceline.

« Best Western Gallup , New Mexico »

This is a nearly new facility and it shows with nice modern decor and spacious breakfast area. The staff were excellent. I also really liked the grocery cart type luggage carts. Wonderful to use. We wondered about the quietness factor but that was a non-issue as we heard no exterior noises. Highly recommend this facility. del chausse

« Nice room, but a few other issues. »

Okay, if I was just reviewing the room, it would probably be 4 or 4.5 stars. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was fairly nice for this type of hotel. The breakfast was more than adequate. However, there were some other issues that cause me to reduce the rating. First, this hotel has some spotlights mounted on the outside the building, pointed up to highlight the building. Unfortunately, one of these spotlights was mounted right outside, below our window (Room 311), pointing directly at our window. This caused a crazy glow in our room all night, even with the blackout curtains closed (for those of you familiar with the Kenny Rogers Roasters episode of Seinfeld...........yeah, it was like that!). Second, we were headed out right after sunset, and happened to glance out the 3rd floor stairwell window into the parking lot. We witnessed what suspiciously looked like a drug transaction take place right next to our parked car. Third, the ice machine on our floor didn't work. Fourth, the residents of Gallup seem to be very fond of their hot-rods, with the sounds of revving engines echoing through the streets of Gallup until the wee hours. And, fifth, those horrible little, square Best Western bed pillows. I hate those.........give me full size pillows. Anyway, YMMV. Nice room, but some issues.

    « Route 66 Pit Stop »

This hotel offers a comfortable place to stay after traveling east across Arizona. It is on Route 66 right next to an historic hotel. The hotel is brightly decorated, has comfortable beds, and a decent hot breakfast. We were completely satisfied with our one night stay.

« Great value - very comfy beds! »

For the price, this hotel was an excellent value. Breakfast was included, and I believe it was served until 10AM, the latest of all the hotels we stayed at during our 10-day southwestern vacation. My husband and I are lazy so it was nice to not have to be up so early for breakfast. The room that we had was large and had all expected amenities for a Best Western. Bathroom was spacious. The best part was the bed - easily the most comfortable bed we slept on during our trip. We stayed one night here - it was a good place to rest one's head during a road trip. Definitely recommend.

« Horrible desk clerk, messed up reservation »

When I arrived with my daughter and grandchildren after a long day of traveling, I was really looking forward to a good night's sleep. We had booked a suite, because everyone sleeps better when the children are in a separate room. The girl who was at the desk when we arrived was friendly, but didn't mention that they had changed the type of room they were giving me, and charged me the amount that I had agreed to pay for the suite. When I got to the room the first time, the key didn't work, so I had to go back down to get it redone. The second time, imagine my surprise when I opened the door to a regular room. I went back down and a different clerk was at the desk. When I told her the problem she told me that there were no other rooms and that they had overbooked. She didn't see any problem with the fact that I had paid for a suite--which I had reserved over a month before--and just got a regular room. She kept telling me that it wasn't her fault; she didn't do it. I told her that I didn't care whose fault it was, I either wanted the room I had paid for or some money back. She told me that she would call the manager, and I began unloading the car. She said that she was unable to reach the manager, so I told her that I would talk to someone in the morning, and we went to bed. Surprise number two was when the phone rang at 1:00 a.m. It was the desk clerk saying that they would refund part of my money. (In the end I still paid more than I have seen the room listed for on various websites.) The saddest thing is, this was a nice hotel for the price. It was clean. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was decent, and the guy working the breakfast may have been one of the hardest working, most friendly breakfast attendants I have ever seen. This could have been a five-star stay, except for the horrible experience checking in, the middle-of-the-night phone call, and the messed up room situation.

    2
    « Very Poor Service »

When we arrived at this hotel after a very long day of driving, we found out that they were overbooked and had given away the suite we had reserved weeks in advance. The woman at the front desk basically told us it wasn't her fault and she refused to acknowledge that the situation was in any way her problem. We--three adults and three children--were moved to a regular double queen room, which was inadequate for our needs. The touchless door lock and key system was not working properly, and we had to have our keys reprogrammed three times before we could get everyone in to the room. Then, the same woman at the front desk called our room phone at ONE IN THE MORNING (that's 1:00 AM, just to emphasize) to let us know we'd receive a $30 discount off of what we'd paid originally. After six hours in the car and finally getting three kids under age four to sleep, you can imagine how much we appreciated being awakened in that way. We came away deeply unimpressed by the service offered at this otherwise fairly decent hotel, and we will absolutely not be back.

    « Great For Us »

Very nice clean place. Big room and a very new or newly renovated hotel. Two problems: 1) A/C in our room did not work so we had to move to another room. Just a bother, but well handled and no big deal. 2) A false fire alarm went off some time in the middle of the night. That was a bother. Other than these two incidents, we liked our stay. Sorry, but I can't remember the breakfast offerings.

    « Rude front desk »

My father stayed the night of the June 10 .... When he and my mom checked in the girl at the front desk was nice and friendly she explained that because they had a full house they had no clean rooms but still offered to check my dad in and said him and the rest of the family could wait in the lobby while she asked housekeeping to start cleaning our room first which was nice of her to do and we appreciated that housekeeping took the time to do that for us so a BiG THANK YOU for that .... Later on in the evening my dad asked for extra towels and was immediately asked how many people were in the room ( 4 adults 1child) when he received the towels my dad asked him why he was asked how many people and the young man who brought us towels told him because he knew that there were more people in the room then paid for my dad then explained that he was from outta town and some family came to visit ...After he left every time me or anyone else left the room the young man was outside the room Orin the stairway when we used the pool it felt as though he was just watching our family we have never experienced this ever at any other best Western we weren't aware that no visitrrs were allowed ...the next morning we went to breakfast and my dad talked to the lady in the front and she just seemed to ignore him even after my dad had told her he fell in the tub he didn't know there was a bath mat in the RR due to my father being eldery disabled an bad vision we were just told it's not our responsibility ?? So as we were checking out my dad talked with the nice young lady in the front I can't remember her name but she apologized and expressed more concern then anyone else we spoke to the fixed everything and even compisated my dad for all the trouble he experienced an we experienced ...I suggest you get more reading for the rest of your front desk they obviously should not be in the hospitality business ....Who worries more about the breakfast then a guest I was so upset ... Nice Motel but Hospitality is not as great as the reviews say we won't be staying here again .....

Hotel is great. The access to the highway is great. The staff is great! We were given vouchers for drinks at a local restaurant and enrolled in a benefit program that saved us money. The side of town is a little ruff, but hey...it is what it is. We will return if we should ever drive that way again.

« Brand new and well run. »

We took a shot in the dark and it really paid off. This inn is newer and very well maintained. Very clean and comfortable. Extremely friendly staff. We can't comment on the breakfast as we carry our own fixings, but I'm sure, based on everything else, it was more than adequate. The price was right and you won't be disappointed.

This is a really nice BW, wee we're greeted by Rory the general manager, what a great personality. You felt welcomed the moment you walked in. Wow! I love the decor, the bed was great, heck everything was great. It's new what would you expect, right? Wee travel to New Mexico a lot so wee will return. The breakfast was good, the breakfast area was different with these high back chair, kind of cool.

    « Modern Oasis »

We stumbled across this welcome spot after considering stays at other, perhaps more historic venues. The room was large, immaculate, quiet, and affordable, with an excellent bed and silent fridge!! A really wonderful respite after a day of driving. We slept well, recharged, used the very clean workout room, and had an (included) breakfast. Sometimes just having room to relax, breathe and clean up is exactly what is needed most, and this Best Western provided that very well.

« Great for one night stays! »

Brand new hotel located close to major routes. Very convenient location in an otherwise forgettable town. We had a very roomy one bedroom King suite with tons of room. Very clean - we wondered if we were the first guests to stay in our room! Comfortable bed, DirectTV with a good selection of channels. Would have given it five stars except for the shower which had either freezing or scalding water and absolutely NO PRESSURE and the free breakfast, which was subpar. Friendly, fast check in and out.

« Quiet on the Outskirts »

We picked this Best Western since we wanted to do our laundry on premises. It is behind the "famous El Rancho hotel" in Gallup, close to Rte 66. We were pleased with the room's decor, the excellent bed and quiet night's sleep. ..and the laundry was immediately available. Good staff and attentive breakfast attendant.

Very nice Best Western property. Two queen beds that were very comfortable at a reasonable cost. Room was large and spacious. Room was on 4th floor and super quiet. Internet was fast and consistent. Shower super nice with good water pressure. Plenty of restaurants close by. Free hot breakfast with scrambled eggs and choice of link or patty sausages. People at front desk were as friendly and helpful as anywhere we have stayed. Didn't use pool or hot tub, but they looked nice.

« Great Place to Stay in Gallup »

We stayed here one night while on a road trip through New Mexico. The accommodations were very nice. The front desk staff was helpful as were other members of the staff. The on site laundry was a big plus while in the middle of a road trip. The room was large and well appointed. The breakfast was generous and tasty. Although we did not use them, the site has a fitness center and indoor pool. We would stay here again.

Good price with AARP or AAA discount. I have always found Best Western hotels to be a step above similar quality hotels. The room was very clean and did not look worn. Mom & I were travelling in our move back to AZ and we had to book this hotel at the last minute. The staff were exceptional in providing our needs. The room was awesome and the most comfortable beds. This hotel has a very modern and trendy decor, the breakfast area is cool with a section of high back chairs which make it feel very European like you're in a club or bistro. It's right off the freeway tucked away in a private residential area one block from freeway, but close to restaurants, etc.

« Great value and everything is nice and new »

We had a great overnight stay at the Best Western in Gallup. Everything was new, it was a great value with breakfast included. Pool and laundry were available but we didn't have enough time for everything in one evening. The Best Western is located directly behind the historic El Rancho hotel that sits on Route 66 and you can walk there to have a few drinks or to enjoy the history. For dining it's not the best location unless you want to eat at a fast food restaurant. We had to drive to the next exit on the highway to get to the area with the majority of restaurants and stores. Our stay was very pleasant, the room was very spacious, clean and practical. Bed was very comfortable with a firm mattress. Breakfast selection was great with scrambled eggs, sausage and a variety of fruits, cereals, baked goods, yogurt etc. We were even weighted on by a nice lady who made sure we had everything we needed. Even though the hotel is located pretty much directly next to a street, we had a very nice and quiet stay. Would definitely stay here again and can really recommend. Great value!

I was so impressed with the service I received in every business that I visit in Gallup, and the hotel was no exception! The hotel is very pretty, and the beds were super comfortable. The rooms are a good size, too. I liked the fact that the breakfast room was a good size, too. I love that they have carts for you to use, when unloading your car. The carts were right by the door. There were also a lot of useful maps and brochures available for nearby attractions.

« Beautiful Best Western - Everything like new! »

We were traveling cross country, mostly staying in Best Westerns because the brand is reliable and they offer several amenities which always include a breakfast with multiple choices. If traveling through Gallup again, I would definitely stay there without hesitation.

Our visit was fine. This was in the city of Gallup and it seemed like a depressed area. The staff was courteous and the breakfast was standard. The room was clean and quiet. I couldn't get over the odd chairs in the lobby. They looked like they came from an Austin Powers movie. The breakfast and price were reasonable but hopefully they will update the lobby decor.

« Brand new, clean and very nice »

We stayed here overnight on a road trip to see some of the Southwest. It got dark and we wanted to make an early morning start up to Chaco Canyon the next day, so we quickly pricelined a hotel. What a lucky find! right off route 66, the place is brand new. the bathroom is large, nice for road weary people to shower and refresh. The beds are very comfy. There was a larger group of young people staying in the hotel also, but the soundproofing must have been good, we didn't hear them. We were looking for a hotel with a hot tub and tv, but the beds were so comfortable that we fell asleep right away! After a great night's sleep we got up early and enjoyed the hotel's breakfast before continuing on our way. This place is adjacent to the historical El Rancho motel, a spectacular local place, what a beautiful lobby! Enjoy dinner and a drink and only a short walk back to your hotel.

« Fresh lobby, helpful staff, and service animal friendly »

Dragging myself and my wife across the country, and needing a place to hang our hats for a few hours shuteye before hitting the road again, the Gallup Best Western was just the ticket. Where the other hotel staff along old Route 66 were either curt, or dismissive, or (and I am not exaggerating) quite literally asleep on the job, walking into the Best Western was entirely different. Laberta (the night auditor on duty upon our arrival) was open, friendly, helpful, professional, and as nice as could be. She was busy getting the breakfast area ready for the meal that would be served in a couple of hours, but immediately greeted me and said she'd be right there. In just a few minutes, she had checked me in, made me feel very welcome, and my wife and I were on our way to catch a few hours of shuteye. Just goes to show you that sometimes, it's the employees that make all the difference. Thank you,Laberta and Best Western!

    « Nice stay! »

We stayed in the two queen suite. It was plenty big enough for our family of four! This hotel seems very new and had all the kitchen amenities in our room. Very clean and comfortable beds. The pool was heated and big enough for us and our two little ones. The hot tub was great. Staff was extremely friendly and accomadating. Only issue we had: I booked through a third party and upon arrival was told all of their suites were occupied already and we were going to be in a 2 bdrm. Room (not a suite). I paid for a suite through the third party so I was a bit annoyed by this. Somehow, someway, the front desk guy found a suite for us. I was happy :) Then, when passing through this town again, I called to check on suite availability because online it said they were available, I was told again they were all occupied. Or, I could pay $40 more for a suite they had again miraculously found. I was confused by this. Make sure you get the room you want when booking! The suites are awesome!!

« Perfect Place for a tired family »

I traveled cross country with my two young sons from the Midwest going to Arizona. I couldn't drive one more minute. I pulled up to this hotel with tired children and was met at the front desk by Shane. He helped me check in, was pleasant, and within minutes I was standing in one of the nicest hotel rooms I had seen in a long time. The breakfast was filling and the breakfast attendant was kind and attentive. Please leave him a tip. He manages up to 40 or more people at a time. His food was hot and well prepared. On our return trip, we stopped at this hotel a second time. Again, we were happy with the quality of the hotel room. The beds are fabulous. The pool is warm and clean. The hallways are spotless. Really nice hotel.

    « Passing Through »

The room was great. The breakfast was great. I was glad there were eggs, fruit, juice and yogurt, not just breads and cereal. My only complaints would be the door slamming & minor housekeeping issues in the bathroom. If you're not careful the door slams shut and it can be heard throughout the whole floor. The usable parts of the bathroom were clean, but there was some weird splatters on the wall under the sink area and a used green towel left on the counter. Overall my stay was good.

    « Very nice stay »

This is what a BW Plus should always be about - providing a clean, comfortable, reasonably priced room, with helpful, friendly staff. In this case, the rooms have apparently been remodeled somewhat recently, and were certainly roomy. Vanessa, the employee who checked us in, deserves kudos for friendliness, for providing a good restaurant reco, as well as suggesting several shops where we might find locally-made jewelry. Breakfast was decent and nicely maintained.

    « Perfect Hotel »

This really was the perfect hotel for our stop. The entire hotel was clean and the staff was amazing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Even the bed was perfect...and that is NEVER the case for me and my horrible back problems.

    « Impressed »

Passing thru on spring break road trip we needed to stop and sleep. We were very impressed w/ the friendly staff, nicely decorated rooms and lobby. It was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know.

« Great new hotel in great location »

The BW in Gallup is brand new and the staff here was great. They were very attentive to all my needs and kept a very clean facility. I was staying there for business and rented the hotel meeting room. Other hotels in town were unwilling to work with me on a rental space because my event brought many non hotel guests to the facility. But the manager Rory was more than happy to help. The meeting facilities were top notch and convenient to the front desk and breakfast/lounge area. Perfect set up. My room was also excellent. I had a full kitchen, separate bedroom, and overall a very comfortable room. The hot tub was also a nice touch after a long day of meetings. Next time I go to Gallup, for any reason, this will be the only hotel I consider. Oh, and one other bonus, the hotel was within walking distance of several restaurants and a grocery store (great if the have a suite room with a kitchen)

    « Wonderful new proprrty »

This is a new hotel for Gallup. It's convenient for travelers located just off I-40 and easy to find, it's close to downtown and restaurants. It's located right behind the old El Rancho motel on Aztec Street. The hotel features a full breakfast in the lobby every morning.

    5
    « Great travel experience »

Great time. We were pleasantly surprised with fine motel this is. It's fairly new. It's A BW Plus, meaning it's a cut above the regular BW. We would certainly mention this location to friends and family.

« Nice Place in Gallup »

I stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights for a buddy's wedding. I have never stayed in Gallup before. It is a small western town on the high desert plains of New Mexico. The hotel is new and the rooms well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast was great, scrambled eggs and sausage along with Belgian Waffles and the normal cold offerings. The Indoor pool and spa were also nice and the fitness room was pretty well equipped. We would stay here again the next time we are in town to visit my buddy.

« best wester gallup new mexico »

The hotel is very new, décor appropriate with southwest theme. The staff very welcoming, the bed very comfortable, so much so we wanted to look to see the brand! Glad to be able to stay in yet another great Best Western Plus hotel. Have not been disappointed yet!

    « Best Western PLUS »

Room was nice and comfortable, had some issue with cleanliness . I rated the BW as average because of my breakfast experience. Breakfast was a disappointment. At all other 5 BW we stayed in the coffee was always great never burnt. The eggs are not runny or soupy. The server was not as attentive to the guests. He may have been new or not trained well enough.

    4
    « Pleasantly surprised »

Nice clean new room. Good variety breakfast. Staff is friendly. Check-in and out was easy. Will gladly stay again. The bed was comfy. I love the color scheme of the hotel. I do not usually stay in a Best Western. Added to my list of places to stay.

    « Gallup Night »

beautiful decor and everything updated. nice front desk manners and helpfulness. King/kitchen had a strange shower; other than that, a nice hotel. Pet friendly but on the 2nd floor. Could use a "pet" trash can outside. Good coffee and breakfast eggs .

« Nice new Hotel, but check your receipt! »

We stayed here in our way through Gallup. The hotel is brand new, the room was very nice and the hot breakfast was good, but the hotel practices seem a little shady. It started when I was checking in. I booked through Hotels.com and the front desk employee said they didn't have my reservation, that their fax was down, but she begrudgenly booked me direct for the same rate. She said the type of room I booked wasn't available, but gave me a key to check out the room they had available. I didn't want to argue about the extra $10 I paid for the upgraded room that I wasn't getting because I was tired and the room was very nice so we moved forward, even though the process seemed off. In the morning I checked out and normally I don't ask for a receipt, but I had a feeling I should. I am very glad I did because there was an extra $20 charge on my card! When I asked the front desk representative about the charge she said the night clerk didn't charge me right so she "fixed it". What kind of place charges a customer a second time without notifying them first? I explained the situation and showed my confirmation from hotels.com and she fixed it back, but I wonder how many other times customers have had charges added to their bill without them realizing it. If it wasn't for the shadiness I would have given this place 5 stars.

    5
    « Brand New »

If in Gallup NM, this is the place to stay. Everything is top notch with friendly and helpful staff. Location is close to the central business district. Rooms are larger than normal and the windows can be opened to let in fresh air.

    2
« Bad service and train noise! »

We stayed here on our way to Colorado. The location is hidden and it took us a second to find it. The front desk person was rude and it seemed like we were an inconvenience to her. If you decide to stay here, ask for a room facing the back of the hotel. The train noise was horrible! It felt like we were sleeping at a train station! We will not be staying here again.

    « I-40 Traveling »

We stayed here with a family group traveling back home to OKC area on I-40. This was a great choice. Some of the nicest and most helpful staff you could have taking care of you on a long trip home. Due to choppy cell service coming out of Sedona, AZ, I wasn't sure if our hotel stay here was booked through an outside booking service. I called here and the manager called the place for me and made sure I wasn't booked twice. So nice and above and beyond what they had to do! Our family recommends this hotel for sure! Great breakfast and clean place.

    « Best Service around »

I was looking for a hotel online as I drove into Gallup around 8pm. They had a the the best rating of the hotels in the area. They lived up to that rating, Nice staff, clean and well stocked rooms, comfortable beds. Great Place to Stay!!

    « AWESOME »

staff very friendly, I notice they all work as a team, helpful, they made sure that they went over your receipt. Rooms very neat, clean and spotless. The pool and spa was very clean, towels were neatly rolled and easy to find.

    « Rating & Ammenities »

Neat, clean , I would give it a 3+ star, easy on/off freeway access. Nice breakfast with attentive servicing. Older but kept up nice. Matched the online prices when booked directly with the hotel. Had Military and other discounts.

    5
    « Great Stay »

Excellent hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable as is the hotel in general. Pool had a bit too much chlorine but that was an anomaly I'm sure. The staff was exceptional and very friendly. Breakfast was what you expect from a hotel continental breakfast. It was well stocked and clean. Overall great stay, I will return on my next trip to Gallup, NM.

    5
    « Highly recommended »

Aside from the breakfast which was standard hi-cal stuff, the rooms, service, gym and location were perfect. Very quiet as it's off the main road by a block. Gallup is not a very large town but do eat at Earl's and check out the many vendors of jewelry and great food.

    5
    « A New Winner »

This months old PLUS impresses in service, room size, comfort, and staff efficiency and attentiveness. Judging by parking lot this new site has fans! In the few months of being open the word has spread that this BW is outstanding. And it is! Breakfast was plentiful and varied. All staff were welcoming and helpful. I will think of this BW as where I will stay when in Gallup. Definitely a "step up" when one is traveling thru or just visiting. Check it out!

    « Beautiful »

We stayed here what a great hotel. The decor is beautiful we had a Jr suite. They have the overhead lights, they have wonderful beds, the color scheme is beautiful, they had so many channels unlike other hotels. The front desk help is great.

    5
« New and Off The Highway »

This property is only about six months old. There are no signs on I-40 yet and so it is mostly people finding them through booking sites. After 2 nights of staying in hotels along I-40, I asked for a quiet location. We were so pleased that our request was met with courtesy and quick service to make the change. Everything was great including the very complete breakfast.

    5
    « Outstanding customer service »

If you are looking for a place to stay that has great customer service and is a very good value, this is where you want to stay. The hotel itself is really beautiful too, which doesn't hurt. The staff is very professional and yet very personable. This is definitely where I will stay when returning to Gallup, NM.

    « Attentive Staff »

Recently spent one night on our way back from Vegas. When we first walked in the lobby had a strange smell which was still there every time we entered the lobby. Room was comfortable, but the color scheme of the entire hotel was a little too much, didn't care for it at all. Breakfast was decent for BW. Staff was very attentive to making sure we had everything we needed.

    5
    « Lovely hotel »

Very nice hotel, especially for the price! We arrived late and left again early the next day, so didn't get to spend much time enjoying the room. It was very comfortable, modern & quiet. Breakfast was as expected. I appreciate the wide variety of food items offered.

    « Good value for a like-new hotel »

Spent four nights at this hotel as it was within walking distance of work assignment. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Only disappointment was breakfast which didn't change in the four days of my stay. Not up to Hampton Inn standards. I'll be back.

    5
    « Comforts of Home »

The King Size Suite was like a second home, very comfortable with a full kitchen and plenty of closet space. The staff was the most friendly and helpful of any hotel staff that we have encountered and we are senior citizens and have traveled a great deal. Very clean, new, modern and good breakfast.

    5
« Great value, well appointed »

Hotel was a great value. Located off Route 66 it was very convenient to our travels. Staff was helpfull, and friendly. Rooms were large, clean and quiet. Beds comfortable. Would stay here again. Even had a hot breakfast. That alone is worth $20. For a total bill of $90, it cant be beat. Plenty of parking. Definitely a go back.

    4
    « Comfortable Stay »

Modern hotels can all look a bit the same these days, and on the face of it this is no different to many. However, this one does have a few plus points. Rooms are of excellent size and well appointed, the wifi works well and the staff are most helpful. Location is handy and pricing is reasonable. Not a lot to dislike, but lacking any real character.

    5
    « Great Hotel! »

We were stopping on our way to Phoenix. We just needed a place to sleep for the night. I wish I would have gotten to stay longer! The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfast food was good and the area was very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

« favorite place in Gallup »

This hotel is centrally located, clean, stylish interior, and comfortable beds! I have stayed other places but like the BWP for location, close to downtown. Interior is modern and new. The only thing I would like is more variety in hot breakfast offering as I stay here often.

    4
    « Well-apponted and comfortable »

Our room in this hotel was large and comfortable. Breakfast was the usual fare but the space was clean and well organized. Access is a little tricky given the one-way road that runs adjacent to the hotel.

    5
« Oasis in New Mexico coal country! »

Almost brand new. The only hotel to ask me auto information. Great breakfast. Up to date swimming pool, not that I used it, ADA compliant! We asked for room close to laundry. Two washers and two dryers. Often there is only one washer. Best value for the money on my 10 day trip across the country.

    5
    « Outstanding Valuie »

This Best Western Plus Hotel is an outstanding value for the price. We highly recommend this hotel to any traveler seeking accommodations in and around the Gallup, NM area. The quality of the property and amenities is outstanding. There is very little in terms of praise for this property. It is outstanding.

« A Very Pleasant Find for a Weary Traveler »

I found this hotel by accident and boy am I glad I did. As I was heading west on I-40 I decided last minute to spend the night in Gallup rather than push on through. I have done this a number of times. I pulled over and started looking for a place to stay,. The hotels e hotels I usually stay at were booked and I began to panic. I relunctantly called Best Western and spoke to the nicest reservation agent who told me there was a room available. I was happy to have a place to rest but nervous about the Best Western. Boy oh boy was I wrong. The hotel is pretty new and in a great location (not right off the freeway by the trains). The desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful. She told me the elevator wasn't working and apologized about it. I was glad I didn't have to find that out on my own and was prepared with my luggage. The room was spotless and the beds very comfortable. They offer breakfast but I slept through it. I will stay here again and highly recommend it.

    « BW Gallup »

The check in/out was great. The staff was wonderful. The internet was a little slow , so maybe they can improve on the internet. Breakfast was ok. We love the setup in the breakfast area. The blue chairs are so beautiful and comfortable. Easy access to and from highway. The Inn across the street had excellent food. Overall, great experience.

    « Basic standard hotel »

Been open for about six months so everything spic and span, rooms good size and clean, we experienced problem during the night with aircon not controlling temperature and room got hotter and hotter and I had to unplug at socket but would not cool room, I reported it in the morning and I think this may not be uncommon. If booking a room here use Expedia as it will give you a much better rate than a walk in. Breakfast standard type but guy was very good cleaning and keeping supplies full. Parking excellent as this town has a bad reputation felt secure.

    « SO NICE! »

Like other reviews have mentioned, this is a NEW hotel! And you can definitely tell. Everything is very clean and well-appointed. The decor is updated and modern. The staff is attentive. The complimentary wifi is great, as is the complimentary breakfast. They served eggs, sausage, fruit, pastries and bread items, yogurt, oatmeal, juices and coffee, and a self-serve waffle maker. Overall, I would definitely recommend this to someone traveling through Gallup, looking for somewhere to spend the night.

    « Very Pleased! »

Brand new hotel, extremely comfortable bed, relaxing shower, very nice hot breakfast included with stay, indoor pool and small fitness room. This hotel was a breath of fresh air as our last stay of a 10 day holiday road trip. Highly recommend!

« Most Fantastic Place to Stay in Gallup »

This is a NEW hotel. It has only been open 3 months or so. It is near downtown and away from freeway and train noise. My room was absolutely perfect. The staff are the most friendly and helpful of any staff anywhere that I have stayed. I had a ground floor room that was quiet and comfortable. The hotel is right across the street from the El Rancho Hotel that has an excellent restaurant. The Breakfast at the Best Western was very good, I have absolutely no complaints and high praise for this hotel.

    « Wow! »

Trip from Denver to Phoenix - planned to stay in Santa Fe, NM but then decided to drive on and stop in Gallup - made my reservation the same day. The hotel is furnished with 'modern' décor - looks great. Room was spotlessly clean - and I'm picky. All staff members encountered were friendly and helpful - observed this with other guests as well. There was no yogurt at breakfast (ran out) but the attendant happily offered to go to the store and get me some if I could wait until he got back (I declined) but that shows the level of service at this hotel! Definitely recommend!

    « fantastic »

Rory checked me in. It was late on Thanksgiving evening, because I had been on the road all day he offered to share his holiday dinner with me because he knew I had missed mine. Truly a kind generous man, he is what gives us all hope.

    « Better than I expected »

This Best Western totally impressed me. This is a new hotel. Located in a quiet neighborhood. Staff were so friendly and helpful. we stayed in an one bedroom suite and the size of room was huge. we usually stayed with Residence Inn but the room was not nearly as big as this one. I especially love the bed. it was so, so comfortable. it felt like sleep on the cloud. Breakfast is awesome. I am extremely happy with it and I definitely highly recommended this hotel.

« Gallup on in you'll luv it »

This is very new and squeaky clean. Although Gallup is dry on Sunday the manager showed us how to get some beer 17mi down the hwy. This is one of the nicest BEST WESTERNS we have stayed in and we wish it could have been a longer stay. We had a great view of the mountains and colourful sky at sunset. Husbands birthday and after a long day of driving he appreciated the soak in the hot tub and pool as there was nobody in either. BW you've done it again

    4
    « Great Place »

We spent the night here after hours of driving, and it was a great place. I would definitely recommend it to weary travelers or vacationers. It had easy access to the interstate, it was clean, attractive, and the beds were quite comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good and the staff was busy making sure the breakfast area stayed clean. The hotel was current in its decor, and though our stay was brief, we really enjoyed it.

    5
    « Excellent hotel »

Really an outstanding hotel! Absolutely cannot complain about anything. Just the breakfast was junk, but it is like that in most of thr US hotels. However, for that price, couldn't expect anything better!

    5
« It was shame i didn't have more time. »

This was a pleasure from the beginning, to the end. This hotel only four months out, was very well staffed. They were extremely helpful. The room was beyond my expectations. Location easy to find. Just a pure joy, and in a very good location.

    5
« Away from the train tracks »

Gallup has a busy train track running through it, and most of the motels sit along the main road that parallels it. Not so this Best Western. It sits a few blocks away, easy to find and quiet. This is a newer motel and it is clean and modern. My room was inviting, spacious and I heard only the faintest train whistle. There's a hot breakfast with pastries. The staff was polite and helpful.

    5
    « Perfect! »

This hotel was perfect for us! Huge room, very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast room had a wonderful selection and lots of tables.Nothing negative to say. We would defiantly stay here again.

    4
    « Clean, spacious & everything works 4.5 out of 5.0 »

At most hotels, I usually find at least one or more flaws. This wasn't one of them with the only exception having to do with Hotels.com, not this hotel. I followed the link to directions provided by Hotels.com and found myself in an industrial park roughly 7 miles away from the hotel's location. When I arrived for my scheduled late check-in, there was already another customer who had the same experience. I plan to let Hotels.com know so they can correct their records. Once arriving, I had no complaints and nothing but praise. The King size bed was exceptionally comfortable. The room was spacious with an appropriately sized wall mounted (with a swivel) HD TV with an abundance of routine and premium DirectTV channels. Nice little microwave and mini-fridge. Great bathroom with plenty of clean towels. The parking lot was close to the side entrance, well-lit and it required a room key to enter. Their full breakfast included scrambled eggs that were well stocked, not too many at a time, fresh and fluffy even late into a generous time period that extended from the wee hours of the morning to 10:00 AM with an 11:00 AM room checkout. There was a good selection of teas, breads, pastries, a few cereal choices, yogurt kept in a small refrigerator, juices, waffle maker, lots of fresh fruit, individually wrapped breakfast bars, etc. When passing through Gallup in the future, this hotel will stay on our private good or better list. I rarely give hotels a 5.0 rating, but would have given a 4.5 had half point scores been allowed.

« Beautiful brand new Best Western Plus »

We stayed here last night and this place didn't disappoint us. It's new. The beds were great. The jacuzzi was awesome and the pool was heated. Vanessa on the front desk was cheerful and very helpful. Breakfast was like most hotels. Nothing special there. I would highly recommend this place. Parking is well lit with cameras.

    « Overnight stop »

This is a very new hotel and was very clean, great breakfast and very nice big rooms. We had a family staying above us and the rooms are not very soundproof so all the running around from little feet was not so great. Also it has no on site restaurant and the only one in short walking distance was a Mexican in the hotel next door. Would be nice to have a better selection.

    4
    « Newer Hotel »

This is a very nice new hotel. The place was very clean, breakfast was great but the rooms were not very sound proof. There was a family in the room above us and you could hear all the footsteps. Also no restaurant on site. A Mexican one in the hotel next door but not much else without driving a ways.

    « Sketchy and Rude! »

Stayed here on a business trip and was utterly disappointed! First of all, the hotel's location is in a very sketchy area that is behind a old large hotel and a creepy neighborhood on the other side, dont let the pictures fool you! When I walked into the lobby, there was no one at the desk. After 20 minutes, the clerk finally came and basically made me feel like I was an inconvenience. Worst service I have experienced at a hotel!

This is a brand new hotel, rooms with suites, sitting room, kitchen and separate bedroom. We had a king size bed which was very comfortable. Indoor pool and jacuzzi. Free parking next to hotel. « Way nicer than expected! »

Very nice hotel, nice greeting from staff, delicious breakfast, and good recommendation for dinner. Nicely decorated and comfortable hotel, new and clean, glad we chose this place to stay. After asking staff for a dinner recommendation, we went to El Rancho and really enjoyed the experience and the food. Very happy with our experience.

    « Gallup, NM Gem »

This property is a new Best Western hotel built from the ground up. It has easy access to I 40. The staff is friendly helpful and efficient. The suite was equipped with a range, full size refrigerator, and a dish washer. It also included a toaster, can opener, and all the dishes and pans necessary. The décor through out the hotel was tasteful. The breakfast room was large with multiple types of seating. The breakfast choices were plentiful, and a full time attendant kept the food fresh and hot. I will stay here any time I am in the area.

« SWEEEET RETREAT IN GALLUP »

This place is now that by which I will judge other places to stay. The level of friendliness, competency, happey service here is just what you want when you are staying away from home. clean, extremely quiet and comfy rooms, beds, pillows, everything you need for a good night's sleep. David and Andrea at the front desk are personable, knowlegable, and accurate with restaurant recommendations, and directions, it's like having a friend at the desk. Shout out to David and Andrea! The amenities are plentiful, like the pool, the gym room, the snack machines. Check out this Best Western and tell 'em Dee Dee & Mike sent you! : )

    « Smart friendly hotel. »

One night stop Sept 12 2015. New well equipped hotel, although we had not time to try the small gym and indoor pool. Friendly helpful staff and good breakfast. Evening meal nearby in the famous El Rancho on Route 66. Very handy for the I-40 on to Santa Fe.

« Clean, Comfortable and Pleasant »

This is a new hotel with nice decor, a friendly staff, and clean, comfortable rooms. I was impressed by the property and the value I got for my money. « comfort and ease »

The entire staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. My wife and I enjoyed using the new, well outfitted little gym and pool. We were tempted to stay for additional nights even though we only stopped on our way to a further destination.

« New, clean and very comfortable »

This newer BW has easy access to the freeway and a very good breakfast. The staff was friendly (even at 1am when I arrived) and the bedding was excellent. I was able to reserve this via Tripadvisor on my smart phone and that made if very easy to get this last minute reservation on a road trip.

    3
    « Beautiful but Noisy »

This is a beautiful, well appointed property. Great staff and exceptional breakfast. But the sound proofing was seriously lacking. Every car, truck and motorcycle (this is right off Rt 66) could be clearly heard through the window. Along with someone running and jumping in the room overhead. Next time I would request an even numbered room on the top floor.

    4
« Very nice place but watch the door that leads to near car park »

Walked into reception was greeted by two friendly people check in was quick with no fuss. We were given a disabled room for some reason which really didn't matter to us. It was on the first floor closest to the car park. By memory it may have been room 101. It was a perfect room, clean lovely decorated probably the first hotel we have stayed in this trip to have a clean ironing board cover that I didn't have to recover with a clean towel just to iron my clothes. The room had plenty of light and a clean remote for the TV. I don't know if it was just our room but there wasn't any luggage racks. Bed was very comfortable thought we would have a sleep in. That wasn't to be the case because our room was the closest the the door that exits into the car park all morning we heard the door slam shut every time someone left the hotel. If you want a sleep in don't expect one in this room. Other than that our stay was great I'm sure all the rooms aren't that noisy just that one. On the plus side the air con was very quiet.

    « Excellent experience »

This place is really beautiful. The decor is bright and colorful with turquoise and other colors reflecting the Southwest. The rooms are so comfortable with nice chairs. The staff is very friendly. The swimming pool and hot tub were great and well maintained. ( I saw it being vacuumed ) The breakfast is on par with the other hotels I've stayed at. It's also very quiet and for me to say that is a lot, since I'm sensitive to noise, i.e.:people slamming doors. The internet did go out the last 2 days I was there so that was mildly annoying, but I'm still giving it an excellent review.

    « Outstanding experience »

This facility has an exceptional "wow" factor. The décor is extraordinary - beautiful, vibrant colors and upscale furnishings. The beds are very comfortable, with plenty of fluffy pillows and lots of good light. This is the first place we've been in the Southwest that actually has overhead lights that actually provide light. (We feel like we have left a trail of socks in rooms that are too dark to find anything.) There is a micro/fridge and coffee service. The breakfast was about average, but the breakfast area was particularly pleasant. The rooms are quiet - we barely heard the passing trains. Hot water for the shower was a little unpredictable and the managelment might look into some door-closers. Everytime I came into the room the door slammed hard enough to shake the building. Other than that, a perfect overnight in Gallup.

    « Very good accommodations »

We stayed in two separate Best Western Plus motels on a recent trip that included stays in Gallup, NM (910 East Aztec Ave), and Kingman, Arizona (2815 E Andy Devine Ave). Breakfast was very good in each instance. Both motels had very comfortable rooms, each was well decorated and clean. The staff was friendly. In Kingman, the Oysters is a restaurant recommended by BW and offers a 10% reduction in the price of a meal upon showing your BW room card. Oysters serves very tasty and spicy Mexican and seafood. The restaurant is just a short distance across the street from BW; it's good.

    « Better than average »

We drove from Albuquerque to Gallup and stayed at the BW in Gallup, what a nice place. In the lobby we were greeted by a friendly attendant and the room was nicely appointed and sparkling clean. There was a pool and fitness center that was very nice, as well. The location was great, you could walk to a shopping center and/or restaurants. The breakfast in the morning couldn't have been better, they offered just about anything you could want, cold cereals, fresh fruits, pastries, eggs, sausage, yogurts and such along with coffee and assorted teas.

« Best Western Plus in Gallup, NM »

This hotel was opened in the summer of 2015, so the facilities were all brand new when we stayed there. The rooms have beautiful decor, and lots of electrical outlets. The rooms are also very clean and comfortable. It is easy to access the WiFi, and the full breakfast was very good. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

    « great place »

This is a new hotel and it shows it. A few of the amenities are not yet in place, but that was ok (I don't use the bar anyway). The décor was very pleasant. Somebody in design has caught up with the real world, as many electrical outlets were provided

« Great stay in Gallup »

The Best Western Plus in Gallup was very nice. Only 3 months old. It is easy to find. The amenities were very nice. Used the pool and jaccuzzi that were inside. Char at front desk was very helpful. Breakfast selection was good. I would definitely stay here again.

« Comfortable stay in Gallup »

We ended up staying 2 nights at this hotel due to our good experience the first night. We had been on the road for two weeks and enjoyed the pool and hot tub at this hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. Rates are very reasonable.
