    « Best Western International »

Cleaning could be improved. Motel needs a major overall and upgrade. The carpet in the ding room is so rippled to be almost dangerous. Has friendly staff. Car parking ok. Firmly stuck in the 1980's. We stayed at this motel a few years ago and it had not been upgraded at all. When we booked we thought it must have been upgraded

« Place to stay after the show »

We attended the Royal Scotts Dragoon Pipes and Drums at Frankston Arts Centre last Friday, and need a place to stay after the show. We chose The International for position and value and were not disappointed. I have recently had a knee replacement so was pleased with the young guy at check in /check out next day, who was not only professional and friendly but upon seeing me on crutches checked he had given us the most suitable room. Our breakfast waitress, Karen was efficient, pleasant and professional. Going the extra yard to enquire on many occasions if she could get me anything, allowing me to stay seated and not struggle round on my crutches. There is no doubt we will stay here again/refer people here.

We Recently spent 5 nights at this motel. We were part of a tour group going to Derby day and the Melbourne Cup . From the moment we pulled up we were greeted by Phil the owner who told us to leave our bags and they would be delivered to our rooms. there were 46 of us. the food the service and the professionalness of the staff was first rate. Thank you again Phil and Linda

    « One night stay »

I'm not sure how a motel qualifies as an "international", this felt like a tired suburban motel. The fittings are dated and problematic, but the staff were friendly. There was a function on that night and so parking was problematic. I was given a room up 2 levels from the car park, but there is no life (not great with a heavy suitcase). One of the staff offered to take the case up for me though. Room was tidy but dated, linen was rough and pillows looked old. The bathroom was mid 80s peach with the shower in a spa which meant using a non slip mat (never a pleasant option), or risking an injury. The walls are thin, so when people in next room started smoking on their veranda early on Sunday morning it became impossible to sleep. People spilling out of the function the night before meant it had been a late night too. Wifi was included in price which was one redeeming feature, but wouldn't be staying here again at the price charged for the quality received.

« Clean, comfortable, central... with excellent staff 24/7 »

I stayed at the Best Western International in late August because I had a work dinner a bit further than Frankston and was not confident in driving nearly an hour home late at night. I booked the motel on lastminute.com and was allocated a spacious balcony room with a queen size bed, on the top floor, overlooking a quiet leafy side street. It does not seem as if the motel has a lift and so I had to clunk and drag my suitcase on wheels up two flights of concrete stairs, but it was worth the climb. The room had quality furnishings and the bed was very comfortable indeed. The bathroom was large, well-lit and clean and had a shower over a spa bath. Some people would be thrilled at the luxury of a spa. I opted just to have a shower. This was a bit awkward because the bottom of the spa was moulded to a person's body shape, so I felt like I had to balance on a surf board, not to fall over. Apart from that, the bathroom was fine. I appreciated the wallmounted hairdryer. The room was decorated in very neutral, muted tones, with darker furniture. A splash of colour to lift the decor could make the room more interesting and appealing. All the Reception staff I dealt with were friendly and very willing to assist in any way. I had a breakfast package deal with my room booking. I enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast of Eggs Hollandaise in the restaurant before leaving. The young woman in the restaurant was cheerful, friendly and very effcient. I felt I had had a great start to my day. This motel has ample onsite parking. It is a side street away from Bayside Shopping Centre which boasts a good range of stores and places to grab a light meal. The motel is only a few minutes'wlalk into the centre of Frankston. The beach is a very short drive away, on the opposite side of Nepean Highway ( which I have personally experienced is very hard to cross on foot due to the constant stream of fast traffic).

« You get what you pay for »

We stayed for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) recently when attending a wedding nearby. The best parts of the stay were the handy location and the breakfast. Generally the hotel is in need of updating. This was also true of our room. The bed in our room sagged a bit and there was some traffic noise from the main road. But for the price I think it was OK given the location and the breakfast which was included - a la carte on the Saturday morning and a really nice buffet on the Sunday.

« Stayed one night for a visit »

Stayed here one night whilst visiting Frankston for a friends engagement party. Rooms were reasonable priced and we stayed in the executive suite. Spacious enough, spa bath was good but not fully clean. Room was comfortable enough and we slept well here. Good place to stay.

    3
    « Handy to everything »

Stayed for two nights. Beds are very comfy with very hot showers. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are a little dated in decor but overall clean and no hesitation to stay again. Try and stay in a room to the back of the hotel as front rooms are very noisy from traffic until late in evening. Parking is off the street but very tight as there was a conference on during the day we returned to the hotel but were unable to get a car park. Washing machines and driers are cheap to use but on our occasion the drier was not heating.

    « Comfortable stay »

Really appreciated the 24 hour reception when checking in at 1am! Comfortable beds. Dated 80s bathroom with "spa". Thin, threadbare towels (one of my big dislikes!). Reasonably priced mini bar. Very friendly reception staff. No lift available but two storeys so don't pack your heavy bag.

« Good hotel for a business stay in Frankston »

This motel has everything one needs for a short business stay including a restaurant and friendly and efficient staff. Although the décor is a little bland, all fixtures, fittings and amenities are actually fully functional, which is not the case in some more expensive properties where the décor is fashionable but desk lamps, taps, wardrobes, and layout are not "fit for purpose"! Will be choosing this motel again for my business stays in the Frankston area.

« Staff and Breakfasts are the standouts of this motel »

With a last minute change to our plans, we found ourselves in Frankston and needing accommodation for 3 nights. We chose this motel as it was conveniently located near the Bayside Shopping Centre and the price was reasonable , considering that breakfast was included. While the rooms are a little dated, our room was spacious, warm and clean, free WiFi ( which we expect these days ) and we found the bed really comfortable. The stand-outs for us however were the very welcoming and accommodating staff at both the reception and in the restaurant, and the truly excellent and freshly made breakfasts that were offered. In our opinion the breakfast menu surpasses many of the 5 and 6 star hotels in which we have stayed . Thank you so much. We would definitely return if only for this.

« Average but very doable »

Simple motel in the centre of the uninspiring town of Frankston. Room was large and sparsely furnished but very clean. Just like what you'd expect from a motel. Stayed for 1 night and no regrets whatsoever. Wifi was pretty bad but on par when compared to other Australian motels. Did not use the breakfast. Nearby Arthurs Seat State Park is definitely worth a visit when travelling through!

    « Fantastic stay »

My partner and I found the service at this hotel fantastic, the buffet breakfast on the Sunday morning was delicious and the staff were just lovely. Would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in Frankston.

    « A very much a return on any occasion. 10/10 »

With no request the room was already warm, with our heating turned on prior to arrival. Welcomed with a warm and inviting smile of customer service in both reservation and restaurant. Then to top it off the food was a 10/10 with a 5 star dinning. With my history of over night stays at various accommodation this is defiantly one I will return to in any occasion. Especially with the luxury of having a balcony and high ceiling and a large room.

    « Good Value »

Not a bad hotel, decor and bathroom a bit dated but still functionable and very comfortable. Good value for a family of four. Beds were quite comfortable and breakfast was very good and very accommodating of kids that don't eat much. Loved the free wi-fi.

    « Retirement Function »

Last night I had my Police Retirement Function at the Frankston International. 39 years service with VicPol, 25 years at Frankston. It was outstanding. 65 People attended for a sit down meal function. The function room was beautifully set out. The service was excellent, food was outstanding. Staff brilliant, so much so some did not want to leave. They where catering for two other functions at the same time, but one felt we where the only ones there. I stayed the night, Room was beautifull, immaculate and breakfast was brilliant as I am gluten intolerant and they fully catered for everything. Highly recommend this facility to anyone for a function or just to stay it you want to explore the Mornington Peninsula and make this place you home base. Mornington Peninsula has heaps of thing to do and see.

    « Stop-over »

Lovely motel, in easy walking distance to the CBD of Frankston, the Arts Centre & Library & to the beach. There are several hotels & cafes to choose from. We only had breakfast at the motel & it was delicious, so I can only imagine the dining experience would be equally enjoyable. We would not hesitate in staying again.

« The Hotel is very close to the Frankston beach and service was good »

We reached early around 9 AM and the room was already ready for us to checkin as per our request in the online booking. We requested for a microwave to be provided so that we can heat up the food the they gladly arranged for one. Service and staff was good and polite.

    « Overpriced, average. »

Stayed here for over a weak. When we first checked in the staff were nice. I got to the room and within minutes had music blaring from upstairs, then a shower of ash, cigarette butts and spit onto my balcony. Staff were good and swapped my room. The wifi is really slow and cuts out very frequently and wont allow you on for long periods of time. The hot water is intermittent and goes from lukewarm to scorching hot in the shower when you least expect it. There was a strange banging/tapping sound that started around 10pm everynight and went through until morning. Bedding was good, minibar is ok. Rooms are clean. The movie channels are a bit pointless, playing the same few films on repeat. Overall i would recommend staying at either of the quests up the road.

    « Enjoyable Stay »

We enjoyed our stay here at Best Western. The staff has strong inter-personal and technical skills; and was so helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. We will definitely go back here and refer it to our friends.

    « Greatest customer service »

We are into the second night of our stay at the best western Frankston ,the rooms are simple but clean.location is excellent, walking distance to shops, restaurants and beach. But the biggest selling point to this motel is the staff. We have stayed in a lot of motels both here and overseas, and never have we come across such excellent customer service, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. So thank you best western Frankston .We would definitely return because of your staff.

    « Don't judge a book by its cover »

So the facade may suggest yesteryear. First impression was formed prior however with the first class telephone manner from Josh. When my group of 22 arrived he was welcoming and charming and very efficient in getting the group checked in, single handed in 5 minutes flat. Josh clearly has outstanding hospitality skills. As my title suggests although the facade may be dated the interior of the rooms are not. In fact the opposite is the case. They are very clean, modern, well maintained and quiet The bathrooms look like they have had a recent renovation. Overall very impressed with our stay. Thank you.

    « Comfortable »

My place to stay when visiting Melbourne. Always a great welcome from reception and I am never disappointed with the accommodation or service. Rooms are clean and the food in restaurant is great :) Within walking distance to shopping centre which is added bonus.

    « 2 day visit »

Our room was excellent as was the staff, could not fault this Motel in any way. Great Restaurant & food, very convenient. The staff went out of their way to help with any request, no matter how small. Would recommend this Motel.

    3
    « Average Motel »

Motel location is excellent, close to the beach, mall, restaurants and train station. Staff are very friendly. However, Motel is quite outdated, needs refurbishing, bathroom is a good size except sink and shower are too low. Bedsheet has blood stains.

    3
    « Friendly »

We stayed two nights here to see the sand castles and a trip to the hot springs. On check in the reception guy was very welcoming and jovial. Showed us the way to our room upstairs. Only negative was there are no lifts, but exercise is good for the soul. The hotel is on a main road but not a problem. Very close to a lot of eateries, shopping etc. The only downside I had were the pillows were far too soft for me...... Small problem...... Otherwise our stay was very relaxed. For two people in thier 60's who travel a lot, this was a spacious, clean and centrally located hotel.

    « Comfortable accomodation »

We were made welcome from the moment I entered the hotel. Josh was on the front desk. We had a comprehensive and helpful introduction at a hotel. Josh came outside to show us where to park and pointed out our room and how to best get there. Josh you are a legend. It is true to say that the motel is slightly "dated". However, my room was clean. There were plenty of bathroom and refreshment supplies in the room.

    « Cheap don't expect anything ! »

What a disappointment the room had hair on pillows, in spa bath remotes were filthy..... Bed harder then the floor, and stunk of cigarette smoke, And Joshua at the desk I didn't deserve your rudeness when I asked to switch rooms because my partner was having leg surgery and couldn't walk from car to room You didn't even try to help, I was already distressed enough without your rudeness!( lucky partner stayed in hospital) people need to know you can not park near your room there can be quite a lot of walking to room, also there are no lifts!

    3
    « A bit dated »

This is a dated hotel where we ended up because we hadn't made reservations and it was the lead up to the Valentine weekend. Josh, at the front desk was great. We got a clean room, big enough, on the second floor. The hotel is right on the main highway and even with ear plugs and the windows closed, the street noise was a bit bothersome. It's in a central location but I'd try to get a quieter place.

« Comfortable accommodation conveniently located »

I was made welcome from the moment I entered the reception area of the Best Western Frankston International motel. Josh was on the front desk. I have rarely had such a comprehensive and helpful introduction at a hotel. He even stepped outside with me to show me where I could park my car under cover. It is true to say that the motel is slightly "dated". However, my room was clean. There were plenty of bathroom and refreshment supplies in the room. Taggart's Cafe & Bar is located in house. The breakfast servings are quite good. Dinners are excellent. Most of the good restaurants and shopping areas in Frankston are only a few minutes by foot from the motel. The huge Bayside shopping centre has many of Australia's major retailers located inside. You have many dining choices available nearby. You cannot miss visiting the suburb beachside on Port Phillip Bay. Allow about 15 minutes to walk there. Leave your car safely at the motel. It will only feet in the way. I recommend staying at the Best Western Frankston International motel.

« Great staff! Room was okay. »

All of the staff that my friend and I encountered during our stay at the Best Western Frankston International Motel were brilliant! Joseph on reception was very friendly and helpful! Karen in the restaurant was doing a great job, even though she was flat out for breakfast because she was on by herself, I would probably suggest putting an extra person on if the motel is at capacity, and possibly another chef? The dining room was pretty much full. We waited around 45 minutes for our breakfast, which didn't phase us as much as some other customers we had overheard complaining. Karen dealt with the complaints very professionally and was a lovely waitress! As for the room, Room 231 was pretty basic, bit old and dreary looking could use a bit of a re-vamp, only thing I can really complain about is the mattress, there was a spring poking me in the ribs all night, which I informed the receptionist about on check-out.

« Caveat emptor: stay here at your peril »

Things are not what they seem. We reserved a room at this hotel, based on the lavish recommendations from TripAdvisor, the hotel website itself, and booked via Wotif, whom also classed this establishment as the number 2 ranked place to stay in Frankston. Unfortunately, staying at this property is a case of caveat emptor. What greeted our eyes upon opening the door to our room bore absolute no resemblance to any of the glowing reviews upon which we based our decision. Condition of the room was unacceptable, run-down, jaded and with holes in plasterwork, gashes in the vermiculite ceiling. Our room stunk of decades of dank cigarette odour, masked with hideous deodorizer. Carpets worn. Drapes torn, not able to be opened. The spa bath was scratched, moldy, with a disgusting, dirty rubber mat, that would be best thrown out. The mattress to our bed was thin, bowed, wiry, meaning dreadfully poor sleep quality. The room was at least quiet, and desk staff friendly. Our tip: don't stay here. Do your research, and don't accept the concocted, misrepresented reviews posted here, skewed to attract hapless tourists.

« Great Value and location »

I stayed here this week for the first time. This is a great value motel. Location is really good as it's right next to a major shopping complex so you only walk a couple minutes to get to great shopping and cinemas. The beach is also a close walk as is the Sand Sculptures. You are right in the heart of Frankston and close to the beach. The room was very well appointed and clean as well as good air con. Free in house movies and good parking. Free Wi fi although not the strongest signal. Large bathroom with everthing you will need. Very comfortable indeed and at a good price. Staff on arrival and departure were very friendly. No hesitation in staying here again. If you are on a budget then this is the place.

Had heard that the hotel was good and clean. The room was clean beds very comfortable. Lights besides bed could be dimmer. I was let down by the bathroom was so looking forward to having a spa but when walked in to bathroom 1st thing I noticed mould all over tiles in the grout. So I didn't get to enjoy the spa Liked the quiet at the back but didn't enjoy the view looking directly at police station

Good value accommodation in a central location. Easy walk to restaurants along Nepean Highway and also to Bayside Shopping Centre for any last minute shopping. Lucky to have a room at the rear of the complex so virtually no noise at night making for a good night's sleep. Bathroom very dated and needs updating, however everything else very clean.

She showed us where we were staying and later that night we had the room above us playing loud music till a hours and Sally dealt with it quickly :) thanks Sally!! . « Great service and value for money »

Nathan at the front desk went out of his way to check us in even though we were a bit early. The hotel is pretty comfy and clean and serves a decent breakfast even though external appearances might say otherwise. Very close to the mall. Friendly staff and good value for money
