    « Great stay »

« Best Western Plus Oceanside Inn, Ft. Lauderdale »

This hotel was within walking distance of the beach and some restaurants which was a plus. You had to pay extra for parking. The pool was nice and so was the breakfast. Bathroom was a bit small and no hairdryer available. Balcony was nice to sit on to enjoy the weather, but the view wasn't great.

    « Warning!! »

As is normal practice, upon arrival at the hotel I registered my credit card details with reception. This was the ONLY time my card was registered or used during our entire holiday. Upon return to the UK there was an answer phone message from the card provider which identified suspect transactions on my card. I checked and there had been 2 fraudulent purchases made in Florida totalling over £550. Draw your own conclusions!!

« Under the Radar Gem! »

Last spring, my wife and I booked a Caribbean cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. And we wanted to arrive in Florida a couple of days ahead of our departure, you know, to get into the mood. But, where to stay with so many choices? So, we began with date availabilities, then with prices, location, amenities and we found our spot. But wait! You say it's a Best Western that had its heyday way back when, right? I must admit that such a thought went through my mind. But, the things that mattered from our list and more were all met by this place: It's next door to the beach and about a five-minute ride to Port Everglades where the cruise ships depart and return. We were quite surprised when we checked in and made our way to our room. The lobby and bar (doubles as a restaurant) were clean and updated. We never used the pristine pool--could have--that's adjacent to the sun-splashed spot where all the guests devoured every morsel of the more than ample complimentary breakfast. The walls of the hallway appeared to be freshly-painted with muted grays on the walls and cream-colors on the doors. Light fixtures appeared to be recently installed. Our room was nicely appointed, with an updated bathroom, plenty of the right kind of towels--the ones that actually dry you off--and comfy pillows and bed. And FREE HBO! All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. So, how good is this place? We cancelled a reservation at another spot and booked one here for when our cruise ship returns to port. Congrats to all of the crew at Best Western Oceanside Inn in Fort Lauderdale!

« Perfect hotel before cruise from Port Everglades »

Close to Port Everglades. Only 10-15 minutes by shuttle bus. Quiet hotel with its own pool and breakfast buffet. A little bit far to everything else except some fish restaurants and harbor where you can take a fishing trip from.A perfect start for the cruise from Port Everglades. Affordable.

    « OK for a night before/after cruise »

Get a room away from the pool. For some reason, the music played loudly by the pool for the ENTIRE night. Room was average. Bed was not very comfortable. Average service at the front desk - they weren't rude, but also weren't the most pleasant. The beach is close, but you have to walk a block for access - there is no direct access from the hotel. There is a bar that serves a good selection of food until after 10pm. This is nice, because there aren't very many restaurants in the immediate vicinity. There are no free shuttles, but they offered to help us arrange transportation to the cruise terminal. Uber is quick and cheap from the airport or cruise terminal, though, and was much less expensive than their quoted price for a shuttle.

« Great Pre and post Cruise hotel! »

This gem of a hotel is a $20 taxi ride from the airport and a $7 shuttle ride to the pier. It is on the trolley route to local shopping and a 5 minute walk from a great beach park. The included breakfast has the best selection and quality of any hotel we have stayed in. I am celiac and was abe to find plenty of choices! The restaurant on site has great options and was very good value for the money. Staff were extremely helpful and fun. The front desk staff could not have done anymore to help us enjoy our stay. The hotel was having fire systems testing and finishing up with some upgrading - but it did not negatively impact our stay. We actually could see the beach between the buidlings in our room - 507 - but this is not beachfront - but just as close as you can get. The price was great. We will be using this hotel on our future stays and would receommend this to any of our friends and family.

« One night stay before a cruise »

We had a nice stay at this hotel. We had rooms on the 5th floor, not much of a view, but the rooms are renovated and were clean. The beds were comfortable. It is within walking distance to the beach. They have a nice bar and a great bartender (when we were there). They provide free breakfast in the morning and it was a complete breakfast, lots to choose from and plenty of seating. There was a nice pool area with outdoor seating. Elevators were very slow. Parking is extra but there is a covered parking area. It is small and I noticed some cars parked outside of the parking spaces, so I imagine they arrived after the garage was full. We would definitely stay here again.

« "BEST" KEPT SECRET ON THE BEACH »

The "Best" kept secret on Ft Lauderdale beach. If you have never stayed here before you should. All the amenities at half the price. Covered parking, free breakfast bar. Walking distance to everything on the beach.

« Gem for Cruise stay »

Great hotel, comfy beds and pillows, knowledgable desk staff. $20 taxi ride from FLL airport. $7.00 shuttle to pier. On site dining menu worth checking out for dinner and lunch. Onsite breakfast extremely complete, clean and tasty. Short walk to beach and wonderful park area. Free shuttle to local shopping right out front. Wish we had found this gem years ago!

« Close to the beach hotel »

Great location with easy walk to the beach. Our room had a patio with view of the street. Excellent breakfast options that include all types of food choices. Have stayed here before, and will come back again.

    « Don't Judge a Book by its Cover »

Yes, it is an older hotel. But it is in very nice condition, at a wonderful location just yards from the Fort Lauderdale Beach, with very reasonable prices. An easy walk takes to to many delightful restaurants, although the bar food selections at the hotel are meal sized and quite well prepared. The hotel staff are all wonderful, from Rafael who ably assisted us at check-in to Nikko at the bar who ensure the kitchen staff would hang just a bit late to make us some dinner after our delayed flight, to all the house-keeping staff who helped make our stay delightful. The complimentary hot breakfast was fresh and filling. Definitely would stay here again!!

    4
    « great location »

stayed here 1 night before a cruise. great location next to the beach but not an ocean view. close to restaurants and bars. Would stay here again. Just what I expected from a Great Western Plus. worth the $125.00 I paid through trip advisor.

    « A great place to stay »

We recently stayed here for four nights and have no complaints. The rooms are on the large side, clean and quiet. Softer type mattresses on the beds (We were in two different rooms). Breakfast was included and was more than adequate. We had a salad with Mahi Mahi in the grill and it was awesome and reasonably priced. The location is perfect. A walk to the beach? less than 5 minutes. Another walk to 2 nearby seafood restaurants 3030 and Sea level..both pricy but worth it. Staff friendly and helpful. A solid 4 star rating. .

    3
« The small things in life are still missing here »

At first glance it seems to be a normal hotel. The rooms are clean and the breakfast buffet has a big choice of options. Including fresh fruits. But you have to pay a high fee for parking. During our stay it was 15$ + tax, in total 15.99$ per night!!! And there is no free parking around. The service is not trained and most of them are not professional. We believe you can find a better hotel in this area.

    4
    « Post Cruise Stay »

Picked this hotel for price and proximity to the Beach. Pleasantly surprised with the Room (4th floor, overlooking Pool ). Clean and comfortable mattress. Also, the hot breakfast was a nice extra, with egg, sausage, ham, waffles, toast etc. Turn right going out the front door and you are less than 2 minutes walk to the beautiful beach. The walkway along the beach is awesome and , if you keep going, only 15 minute walk to the restaurants at the end of Las Olas Blvd. ( If you have a car, parking is $15 per day.)

    4
« Parking, Breakfast, GR8. Many baths and views Not. »

There are limited upgrades available for elites. The suite would be the 1 room to book for $ if available. It's excellent value. Otherwise demand a pool view room with larger bath. Most rooms look at a building wall and most baths are too tiny for 2 people. It is a fresh-remodel well done. Absolutely put the "do-not-disturb" sign out or housekeeping will be opening your door at 8 am. If the desk is inattentive try another person a little later. The women working the desk are extremely nice and helpful. The free breakfast is outstanding and the garage is great and only $15 (free for elites!). Beach access is arkward. The best feature of the hotel is that it faces the Marriott Resort with it's beautiful private beach and outdoor facilities with open access. (The B Resort behind the hotel is pitiful). Price out the Marriott and this hotel and the savings are substantial usually, especially with parking and breakfast. If they're not substantial choose the Marriott. The best feature at this part of the beach is unlike the huge hotels on center beach, the beach is not a public one across the street. The available Marriott beach next door is outstanding.

    « Pre cruise »

Excellent location stay Prior to cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. The hotel is very clean but dated, well maintained. Nice bar/lounge. The complimentary breakfast was very plentiful. Staff was great. The hotel is clean. Easy access to the beach or for a nice walk. We obtained excellent one night price for three couples.

« Great pre and post cruise Hotel »

I stayed at the Best Western Plus Oceanside Inn in October of 2016 for one night pre cruise and two nights post cruise. All of the staff I encountered at this hotel were extremely friendly and accommodating, from the front desk staff at check in, Omar and Sirena were a joy to deal with, to the bar staff, Rose ( who makes the best Bloody Mary's in most likely the entire state of Florida, to Tom and also Nico, to the wonderful smiling housekeeping staff on the 2nd Floor. The location of the hotel was great with just a short walk to the beach and access to the Sun Trolley right outside. The rooms were recently redone as well as the rest of the property. Probably one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have every slept in. The room had a great TV with a wonderful picture and decent range of channels. Our room opened onto the sun deck on the second floor overlooking the pool and was complete with sun loungers and a table with umbrella and four chairs. The breakfast that was included was fresh and hearty with a great selection of items to chose from. This was my first stay at a Best Western and I was duly impressed and will certainly chose BW again when travelling. Final thoughts, this hotel is a hidden gem, easily missed amid the larger resort type hotels in the same vicinity, give them a try....you will not be disappointed!

    « small hotel,very good atmosphere »

It has great jacuzzi suite, very customer service, good location, near interesting places, the beach is very close. It should have a shuttle from the airport.to the hotel. The rest must have more variety in their menu..

« Great value, but a little off the beach »

If you don't mind the walk, this is a good compromose between high price and convience. The pool is fantastic, and they have a bar/restaruant (Which I didn't use). The rooms had a fair amount of space, and traveling with four kids that was a real nice benefit. You really can't go wrong for beach vacation on a budget.

    « Fabulous! »

We stayed here just 2 weeks ago and loved everything about the stay! The rooms were very comfortable, beautiful colors and very clean. We checked in with ease and was greeted at the front desk by the most friendly amazing woman named Serena, she desreves a 5 star herself!***** Serena, always smiling, always helpful and very friendly and knowledgeable! The patio off our room was the greatest, overlooking the pool, it was my go to spot at night and early mornings with my tea. The breakfast was delicious as well as the lunch menu items..the best sweet potato fries! Awesome drinks served by some awesome bartenders, Niko, Rosa just to mention a couple. We will definitely stay here again when travelling to Florida

« Amazing value, high quality hotel »

Only $135 including taxx at AAA rate, a block from the beach, with free breakfast, wifi, pool, and premium TV channels. Also has a nice bar. Originally was booked across street but had to cancel, this place was great

    3
« good place to sleep close to the beach »

Room was comfortable and there was a deck, although not much of a view. Only a minute walk to the beach. I did not visit the pool, bar or restaurant but all looked inviting. Key card access to the back elevator was a little slow - but it did work.

    4
« Great Hotel. Excellent Service. »

Booked this Hotel for one night. Rooms are roomy and comfy. Beds are super soft. Service is great. Breakfast is excellent. Dined at the Hotel bar, food is great but overpriced, as well as Drinks (Cocktails $8 to $10,-), this is why only 4 Stars. 1 Block from the beach, 2 Blocks to Water Taxi and Jungle Queen.

    4
« Comfortable place, short walk to the beach »

A nice and pleasant place with professional staff. Lobby interior was very welcoming, quick check-in, rooms are ok, no issues. It is about 5-min walk to the ocean. The beach was clean and pleasant. The only thing we did not quite enjoy was the breakfast.

    5
« Top Hotel close to the beach »

It looks old from the outside and the Front Desk is also not fancy. Room are great and spacious and beds are comfy. Staff was friendly. Food and Drink prices at the Hotel Bar/Restaurant are to high. Breakfast was amazing. Close to the Beach and Water Taxi.

    5
    « business stay »

nice basic hotel, great breakfast, accommodating staff. They allowed me to check in at 1:30, even though check-in was not supposed to be allowed until 3. Great food in lounge. Checked my bags early so that I could sight see. Nice boardwalk on Dania beach

    4
    « Little gem. »

I stayed 5 nights for a business trip. Got a corner room on the top floor with a partial ocean view. I was pleased with the room as it was good sized and comfortable. The view was indeed partial but I still enjoyed sitting on the balcony drinking coffee. The only downside was the air-conditioner was noisy but I turned it off at night and slept fine. The breakfast was pretty good including eggs and meat every day. The bar and grill was great. Be sure to try the Cuban sandwich and the blacken Mahi Mahi sandwich. Close to the beach in a great location. I would recommend and stay here again at the price.

« Cute little local place. . Older. .but not so stuffy as bigger hotels! »

I stayed here for six nights with a co-worker and had a slow rough start upon checking in. Called the front desk, they fixed it within minutes. Raphael at the front desk was overly helpful. Anthony came up to the room and was very pleasant. Leila down in the breakfast bar was very sweet and kind. Rose at the bar is amazing next time you're here you've got to check her out she's funny has been there for 20 years very sweet very kind woman... ask her for " the rose cocktail " next time you're here.. room was clean. .staff was very accommodating. I would absolutely stay there again !

    « Dang nice »

No complaints really, hotel well kept, very short distance/walk to beach. Also plenty of food & beverage places with in walking distance, except once you eat something at the hotel restaurant you may not want to eat any where else. Actually surprised at quality of food,(only served lunch & dinner), but very good. The breakfast buffet was typical BW setup, little better than other BW I stayed at, but what do you expect for free. it will get you going in the morning if your a cheapy like me, otherwise there was a Denny's a mile or 2 away that was good. Would stay there again, hopefully get there for pleasure & not business again.

« Best Pre Cruise Hotel in Fort Lauderdale!!!! Sept. 2016 »

I own a travel agency and do a lot of group cruises and always do a pre cruise hotel, and this one is one of the best I have done business with over the last 23 years. If you have a small group you need to get in touch with Jillian the sales manager and she will take very good care of your group. She met all of our needs plus 2. She is very professional to work with. The hotels in FFL are dated badly, but this one has been upgraded, and the rooms are extremely nice. The rooms feel like they're all brand new!!! Breakfast here is no joke. Best Breakfast buffet we have all been to in a very long time. Items you would never see at other hotels. The pool is really good. The staff gives you towels, so no need to bring your own. The ocean is a 2 min walk and is VERY SAFE. The whole area seemed very safe. The whole staff was awesome the entire time. We stayed 2 days before our cruise. I had 26 in our group and everybody loved it. Rose, the bartender was so much fun and she makes the best drinks. She is full of knowledge for anything you need in FLL. You will fall in love with Rose and want to steal her to work PR for your company ONE OF THE BEST PARTS: John the chef over heard me talking at the bar about how hard it was going to be for me getting reservations for 26 on a Saturday night. He suggested he would take care of my entire group and do a VIP party with all kinds of food and save everybody the 2 hour wait we were looking at. Well he knocked it out of the park. BEST COCONUT SHRIMP ever. Sliders, meatballs, etc. Balloons VIP sign..The works. Thank you John One more person I would like to acknowledge Maria the head of housekeeping. She and her girls were so nice, and as soon as we left the room they were on it and was very sweet. The main reason I'm writing this is to say the entire staff was so nice. They cared about everything we needed. They got us picked up at the airport. Got us shuttle buses to get around town and every time we walked past the front desk they would ask if we needed anything. I will send ALL my clients that need a hotel in FLL to the Best Western Plus Oceanside for as long as we own a travel agency. Thank you so much Jillian, Rose, John, Maria and the entire staff for all your extra efforts to kick our cruise vacation off with a bang!!! Satellite Travel Jamie Eubanks

« Great place to stay »

This hotel is a great location in Ft. Lauderdale. It is about a half block (if that) from the beach. There was limited parking available on the property and sometimes parking was a hassle, but otherwise the place was great. The breakfast was awesome for a hotel in a beach town. The hotel had beach towels for use also. Staff was friendly and willing to help.

    5
    « Great Place & Clean »

Fourth time we have stayed here and will come again. Nicely located a slight walk to the main beach area. Breakfast buffet is very nice serving basics with a good variety. Nice pool and great bar. Rooms are nice and clean. Beach is located a short few minutes walk behind the hotel.

    4
    « great place »

nice, older hotel but clean and close to the beach. not very far from airport or cruise terminal, we stayed there overnight before a cruise we went on, we were able to hit the beach that evening which was nice. didnt really like that i had to pay for parking though

« Clean and good breakfast but don't use bar/restaurant »

Our room was very clean and the main desk and housekeeping safe were very friendly. The breakfast was one of the best I've had a hotel. The location is just a few steps from the beach and we had a conference at the Marriott and there is a light path walkway to the Marriott right across the street from the entrance. We attempted to get service from the bar two nights in a row. They have reasonable prices on the menu. The first night the bar tender was rude (older late 50s male) as well as the cook for they ignored us and when we had to interrupt to get attention from their non work related non customer related conversation to ask to see the menu we were treated with an unpleasant interaction so we left. We decided we would give him a second chance the next night and we let him know we would like to order and would be sitting at the tables on the pool deck. We waited 20 minutes and he still didn't come take a drink order. So one in our party went in to let him know we were ready to order. We waited another 15 minutes and then left. We walked to a restaurant down the street and quickly spent over $100 that they had just lost out on in food and drink orders. This bartender needs to be fired or you will have no business. The other place we went to greeted us immediately and we had drinks in hand in less then five minutes.

    « A small hidden Gem »

I must say I was very nicely surprised with my stay at this hotel. The staff was super friendly, the rooms were spotless and the breakfast buffet was a great way to start my day! This Hotel is tucked in between some very fancy high rise hotels. But don't that fool you. This hotel was equally as nice as those big conglomerates for half the price! I would definitely recommend giving this hotel a try.

    4
    « Business trip »

Spent two nights at the Best Western Plus, Oceanside Inn. My room was on the 5th floor overlooking the pool - 2 queen beds. The room was small but adequate. The AC was awesome, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was up-to-date and spotless. Breakfast was very good....eggs, ham, chicken sausage, breads, make your own waffle, fruit, veggies, sliced meats, etc. Coffee was good. Leila does a great job there. Hotel was quiet.....several foreign visitors. Parking was easy ($15 / day). Best value on Ft. Lauderdale beach.

    « Great Stay! »

Nice hotel, very friendly, helpful, informative staff. Great breakfast selection and good food. Hotel is a little back from the beach but within walking distance. Only issue was the noisy in-room a/c unit which was bothersome when trying to sleep.

    5
    « Very good »

Great stay. Not the easiest place to get into; the entryway was too small. Parking was a bit of a pain, and costs $15. Ugh. But once you're inside, nice! The staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly. Everything at this hotel seemed new/updated. We had a quiet room on the 4th floor. The linens and bed were good. The bathroom was small but it was all updated. The shower was fine though not the best water pressure. Nice toiletries, thick towels. I didn't like the toilet paper right up against the wall. The colorful furniture in the hotel and the room was cool, beachy and seemed new. Kudos to housekeeping, everything was very clean. Not many channels on TV. We enjoyed our coffee out on the peaceful balcony. Breakfast was delish. We got a great rate here and would definitely stay again when we're in the area.

    « Nice »

Really nice hotel. Looks like it has just been updated and it's really nice and it's really close to the beach. It's just about 50 yards away, we had a good time in the ocean and at the pool. We ate at the restaurant at the hotel and it has really good food. The service was excellent the waitress that helped us (Rose) was really nice and so helpful when we asked questions about the area. The hotel staff was also very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here especially before a cruise. That's what we did. If we come back to this area we will be staying here. We also got free breakfast and it was really good also.

« Best kept Secret on FTL Beach »

This is the place to stay on FTL beach. Great Value. Amazing amenities. Nice Breakfast. New Lounge. Fitness Center. Have been staying here for years and the the Remodel is amazing! Very comfortable rooms and well designed. Staff is awesome too!

    4
    « Convenient location »

Our room was located on the level that has the big sundeck, lovely! Breakfast was quite ok. We didn't use the pool but it seemed to be very popular. The room had a microwave and a refrigerator so it was very easy to make som pop corn or something else and have a glass of cold wine. It is a short walk to the beach and you can easily take long walks. On the con side: there's not much more in the immediate environment but the beach and other hotels. Of course there are some restaurants and so on but not much, so it depends on your needs if you will like the location or not. The staff were friendly.

    4
« Cost a little more BUT LOT's better than choice hotels in the area »

This was a really nice property. Rooms were small but were clean and neat. I like the fact that most of the flooring is ceramic tile and just a little carpet as the carpet NEVER gets cleaned. Room was right next to the pool which was GREAT and located close to the in-house bar/restaurant and breakfast area. Hotel has a GREAT breakfast area with a really good selection of food items. Was about the same price as the Choice Hotels in the area and I have had nothing but BAD experience with choice hotels (various locations) recently. Will definitely stay at this property next time I am in the area.

    5
    « great value hotel »

Breakfast was very good, they vary the options daily. Fresh fruits, waffle makers, egg and cheese options. Very clean. Also just 2 blocks away from beautiful beach. The pool was small, but we did not need it, as the beach was very beautiful and very close. I highly recommend

    « Great deal, we'll definitely return! »

Although we usually go to South Beach, my sister and I decided to make this year's beach trip somewhere a little different. We chose the Best Western Oceanside Inn because of it's proximity to the beach (about a 2 minute walk) and reasonable price ($125/night!). We definitely got more than our money's worth here! The entire hotel was bright, clean and updated. Our room was comfortable and had a nice sized balcony, with what will eventually be a nice view (the hotel next door is being renovated). The breakfast boasted an impressive selection of food and drinks and since the room included a microwave and fridge, we were able to take a little extra for snacks. We especially enjoyed the pool and upstairs lounge area, as well as the bar, which is adjacent to the pool. The staff were all pleasant and helpful throughout our three night stay. We will definitely return!

    5
    « Outstanding »

I loved the décor and the pool, the outstanding front desk staff. The location to Hollywood beach was great as well. We will stay here again. As a Canadian I am always looking for a great value for our dollar. Job well done!

« Great room and price point! »

I stayed here four days during the third week in August. The room was first level, pool side, and only 1/2 block from the beach. The room had two queen size beds, mini fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. It was clean and tidy. House staff, wait staff, and front desk were all very friendly and accommodating. I was not aware of the daily parking fee until I arrived. I wish this information would be more predominant during the booking process. Also, parking spots are tiny, I suggest using a compact car. The buffet continental breakfast was amazing. It had pastries, fresh fruits, eggs, meats, waffle station, and a daily changing menu. It was included with the rental which made this a great value. I will book again.

    4
« Good location for beach »

Hotel was nice, good pool but warm. Beach was a easy walk from hotel. Bring a volley ball as there are public net's right when you walk on the beach. Life guard stand was there also. Free refills at hotel bar for soda but kids can not sit at the bar.

« Best Western in Fort Laudardale »

Great Hotel! Comfortable room. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. Close to the beach. Delicious breakfast. There is a receptionist called Cassandra that is really nice. She has lots of tips to offer the guest who hasn't rent a car. If you ask her how to go to lots of places, she'll teach you with a nice smile on her face. My husband and I went to lots of places by bus or metro spending almost nothing because she taught us how the bus, trolley and metro service works.

« Great BW with fabulous staff »

This BW is on the south side of Fort Lauderdale beach area just below the Beach Park. Close but slightly away for the mad tourist area. It is not beach front but has a well maintain pool(smaller to average sized) and is approx 5 min safe walk to the beach. Being a BW "frequent flyer" our parking charge was deferred. I like being acknowledged as a return customer and they did not disappoint here. This is an older building/motel style BUT is very fresh and well kept. Perfectly clean and open. Staff needs commended. Our room was on the second floor-sundeck level. The front door opens from inside the building but there is a sliding patio door onto the sundeck with several nice chairs, tables and umbrellas. This deck overlooks the pool below. Elevators or stairs accomodate the levels--parking is directly below the facility and the elevator goes to this level. There are 2 washer and dryers there for customers to use. The room was very comfortable; slept well. Great bedding with a very clean but smaller Bathroom. Hot water was no trouble. Refrig, microwave and safe in the room. Breakfast is included and is sufficient. Good choices and dining room was well kept. There is a small bar area in the lobby area with TVs and they serve food there. Fairly good menu-not expansive but Chef John and bartender/server Nico did a great job. The food was excellently. Hamberger was great-loved the steak potato fries. Fish and chips great too. Average Full Bar available. The area: Its an easy walk to the main strip prob 10min. The wide side walk on the ocean side of Seabreeze blvd or A1A is really wide and has been very well kept for several years. Lots of people out walking, jogging and riding bikes(there is a bike lane). It is approx 3 mile stretch to walk the south to north of the Fort Lauderdale beach stretch before you get more into the Lauderdale by the Sea Region. Several Life Guard towers along this stretch. The sand was much cleaner and more white the more north of the main tourist area I thought. Was NOT bothered by street venders at all here. Several typical Souvenier shops on the hotel side of the street. Tons of restaurants-naturally I use TA to help with choices. There are several all along this stretch of varying price ranges. LuLu's which is close to the southern aspect of the beach was a good restaurant-not great. Great bar drinks and some specials. Our couple meals were ok, hit or miss. Great views for the patio though overlooking the beach--do put your name in and wait the time to sit out here. Ceiling fans help keep it cooler plus the sea breeze is fabulously relaxing. Can never miss going to Primanti Brothers for breakfast or lunch sandwiches/pizza FABULOUS place Home cooked and great family style foods. This BW is a great base. Park and walk everywhere from here!

« Great choice, 5 minutes walk to the beach »

Booked on BW site for 112$ AAA rate in June 2016. Arrived late so room was ready. As I have a diamond status, I think they bumped me to a beautiful 1 bedroom suite on the pool level. The décor was pure Florida tropical, clearly renovated recently, nice king bed, and TV in room, large bathroom with separate tub and shower, living room with sofa and TV, good wifi, plenty of channels. The pool was nice and cool, they have a little gym on premise with a few cardio machines and weights. The breakfast was excellent, above par for a BW, with various breads, sausage, scrambled, cold cuts, fresh fruits, cheeses, with a latino flair. The area was also clean and renovated, with a Cuban matriarch overseeing the area, very friendly. Parking is 15$ a night, I think, but it was also waived given my status...I should go to BW more often. The beach is less than 5 minutes walk, so you can basically walk in your bathing suit, towel and flip flops, and enjoy the beautiful beach. I recommend this place.

    « Good location »

Walking distance to the beach! In a busy nice area. I think it's wrong to charge $15 to park, but it seems to be a normal fee at hotels. The rooms seemed clean. I did not enjoy the smell coming from the room ac.. Smells like they spray a scented cleaner in them. Only I seemed to notice as this didn't bother my husband or kids. The rest of the hotel is way too cold. It seems to be a normal thing for businesses but it makes coming inside a shock. The pool was great! Breakfast had a variety and was one of the nicest I've seen at a Best Western! I believe the plates they use are a compostable type. Wouldn't in be great if they tried composting!? There are recycling bins in the rooms that we found useful. I could only hope all hotels offered these in all parts of the hotel. This was a plus for me! All in all it was in a good location close to everything we planned to do. The construction was going on when we stayed and it didn't bother us or appear to bother anyone else.

    « Cant beat it!!!!!!!! »

I have not been on vacation in a number of years and finally decided to go and use points for a stay. I chose this Best Western location and could not have been anymore pleased. Even though the room was free with points I got the treatment of a guests paying the highest dollar amount they had. The Staff was AMAZING.

« Great location for beach access »

The best thing about this hotel is the closeness to the beach- it really is less than a 2 minute walk, It might actually be closer to the beach than B Ocean Hotel right next door, you don't have to pay a "resort fee", and parking is $15 instead of $30. And, the BW hotel does provide beach towels and bikes, but you have to know to ask for them (we didn't figure that out until the last day). So I guess the signage could be a little better. The outside is a little underwhelming, but inside is a solid Best Western hotel. The housekeeping staff were really good about working around our crazy napping/sleeping schedule.

    « Hotel is a hidden gem! »

We booked this hotel for a Wednesday and Thursday night in July for $135 a night. Super great price for hotel. We could have got newer chain hotels over the bridge in town actually cheaper, but wanted to be near the beach. We knew it wasn't on the beach but nearby...and that's what it is. It's NOT that far to walk to the Ft Lauderdale state beach. Plus, you can pretty much walk and catch the trolley to most everything near by for a $1 a person. We walked through and past the state park/beach area twice to eat at Bubba Gumps and Jimmy Johns and to look at the shops there The breakfast buffet is by far the best I've ever had at a hotel. We would have spent $40/$50 for the 4 of us to eat at a restaurant for sure...and it was really, really good. Very clean, well stocked, fresh, and lots of choices. Kudos to the breakfast ladies! Our room was 2 double beds on 4th floor overlooking the hotel next door that was being renovated, but seriously, that was fine with us. Great price for a hotel room....didn't expect a view or would have paid more if I wanted one. Bathroom was a little small, but that's not something that would bother us either way. The room itself was a nice size. My kids enjoyed the pool a lot....and they are 12 and 18. The pool is way nicer than the pictures would make you think. There are 2 fountains running that cover the noise from street outside...so you really don't notice the semi-busy street. You're kind of nestled by the high rises/condos around you which is kind of neat. Plus they give you pool towels that you can also take to the ocean, and they don't make you have to swipe your card or check them out, etc. I appreciated that perk. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and professional. There was one younger gentleman who worked an afternoon shift who was standoffish and lacked a personality....but the ladies were so professional that I guess he could be overlooked. The bar food was affordable and pretty tasty. Their was a younger female bar tender who worked an afternoon/evening shift who was by far the most organized bar tender/pizza cooker/waitress that I may have ever seen. There was a middle aged bar tender for the second afternoon who was standoffish and frankly rude...and his conversation with what looked like the chef who came to talk to him, well they were totally unprofessional. We didn't have a car but did notice the dust blowing off the building next door onto the parking garage seemed to make several people at hotel quite mad. Also When leaving on last day I called twice for a Broward County taxi to get us....we were going to the the Miami cruise port....and when we had waited for about 40 minutes in the lobby, a lady from the front desk came over and after realizing what we were doing, got us a Broward taxi in about 3 minutes! Should have asked the ladies at front desk first! Overall, the 3 above-mentioned unprofessional employees/staff would be the only thing that would keep this hotel from a 5 star rating. The wifi never seemed to work for us, but that wasn't that super important to us anyway. I would definitely bring my family to stay here again. This is a great value for the area.

we have stayed here twice both on semi vacation and family business. Staff is always very helpful form the girls at the desk and the maids. Breakfast is always good, a very short walk to the beach and many great restaurants. What we love is we park the car and short walk to the beach and many restaurants

    « 2nd stay - enjoyed it even more »

I enjoyed myself last year at this hotel and decided to stay again. Was not disappointed. Again, it's not a fancy hotel, but who goes to the beach to stay in the hotel? It's clean and affordable! There is a pool and the menu at the restaurant has been upgraded. Free breakfast is decent. Happy hour is pretty good as well. 5 minute walk to beach. This is officially my new Ft. Lauderdale hotel and I used to stay at the Westin!

Great hotel.. Very nice and clean. I recommend it.. maybe next year again.. Bus #40 stopt right across the street to the Galeria mall or to Burger King. At the burger King take bus 1 breeze all to the Sawgrass mall. Simple as easy. .

    « Pre Cruise »

First room ac did not work. Requested to be moved and they did immediately. Second room mini fridge did not work. Since only 2 nite visit didn't bother. Hotel smells musty and not very clean. Lots of construction all around. If u want a cheaper hotel near beach this works. Some staff very friendly some not so much. Usual breakfast for this style hotel. Had a pool although we didn't use. There are no real views. Unless u request poolside which could be noisy. I probably would not choose this again.

    3
« Not on the beach »

There were not enough parking spaces - even though we paid for parking. The A/C in the rool was very loud. You can only obtain pool towels from the 2 very busy front desk staff. Even though this is considered "Oceanside", it is not on the ocean, nor can you even see the ocean from the hotel.

« Awesome Service Best Price »

This hotel offers the best service with the best price by the beach in Fort Lauderdale, FL. There is NO other hotel that comes near in that price rate and service. Renovated rooms and walk to the beach. Staff are very helpful and the rooms are clean.

    « Group Travel »

Very good hotel for group travel. Nice clean comfortable rooms, friendly front desk, helpful group reservations desk, affordable rates, full no-charge breakfast, close to public beach with life guards, close airport. All in all a perfect hotel for our group to spend a day or two at.

« Nice hotel not far from beach, jungle queen riverboat, and decent price for location. »

Friendly hotel staff and clean hotel. Quiet location on the beach since it is a mile or 2 away from where alot of the bulk of the hotels are. My stay was 7/6 and construction was going on, so I can see some negative reviews being posted by folks on the 1st floor due to the noise and their car being covered in dust and the hotel next door is doing construction too that starts at 8am. Basic breakfast is good enough (eggs, waffles, cereal, muffins, fruit, and juice) and is included. I wouldnt pay over $100 a night to stay here. Pros -My room was nice on 4th floor - 3 or 4 min walk to beach -5 min walk to jungle queen riverboat -Basic breakfast included and will hold you off until lunch -Nice pool area -Free airport transportation, even though I didnt use it Cons -Elevators can take a while and are hot -Construction at hotel next door starts bright and early -$16 a day for parking -between 2 hotels so not much of a view

    « Functional »

The original room we were shown to had a first floor patio door opening out onto a bank of air conditioning units. We had booked a pool view room and if we walked to one edge of this area we could see the pool!! In fairness we asked for a change of room which they did and we had a balcony and pool view as we had booked. It is a fair walk into Fort Lauderdale but along the beachfront so plenty to watch as you amble along. Generous breakfast.

« Unauthorised Visa card use!! »

We visited and stayed here on the 2/7/2016 to the 9/7/2016. I booked through Amoma.com and can provide proof that I booked the above dates. The hotel claimed I was only booked in until the 7/7/2016 and I explained and showed them the booking from Amoma. They accepted it. I used my card for the parking charges at the hotel. We got home to Ireland on the 9/10th July after checking out the morning of the 9th from the hotel. My balance at check out was $0. I have the receipt to prove this. Today on the 12th July, 2-3 days after getting back to Ireland, Best Western Oceanside Inn charge my Visa debit card an additional $197, without my knowledge or permission. I never authorised this transaction and had already paid for the nights in question(as can be seen from the photo attached). Best Western Oceanside Inn have committed fraud and theft of close to $200 from my account. I rang to complain to be spoken to like a child by "Cathy" who neglected to acknowledge any wrong doing or apologise for the confusion. Just passed the buck and told me to contact a Janet Graham. I am shocked at how a hotel can charge you twice for a hotel room, one time after you have gone home. Will be returning to Fort Lauderdale but will never stay in this place again.

    « Close to beach, restaurants/shops »

Pros: clean room, nice balcony, excellent free breakfast, free parking, informative and friendly front desk staff, nice seating area around pool, extremely close to beach and restaurants/shops Needs Improvement: A/C set in hotel was extremely cold (effected temp. in rooms) Pool walls could use a deep cleaning/remodel

    « Needs work »

Pros for this hotel, Great breakfast, very close to the beach, bar and pool are nice. Cons for this hotel, Construction here and next door makes noise very early and covers car with crud. Not enough parking when hotel is full. AC barely worked. Internet barely works. Elevators are dangerous/broken with expired certificates. Very poor water pressure in shower and toilet.

« Treasure tucked into a tiny corner. »

Wonderful wonderful wonderful. Clean clean clean. Nice nice nice. What an unexpected gem just steps from the beach. This is a resort quality facility at wonderful prices. Clearly the staff takes great pride in their jobs, the hotel and caring for guests. Seriously, this is a 100% winner.

« Excellent stay - Best Western / Oceanside Inn »

Our experience overall was great. If your room is poolside, the noise from the hotel next door is loud. Jack-hammer, sawing, and wall-cutting noises fill the air. (the renovations are below the parking lot.) The noise starts some mornings at 9am and ends around 4pm. According to the staff, the renovations are seasonal. (off-season will be the noisiest) The renovated lobby looks excellent. The staff is very affable, helpful, and friendly. Other then the hotel pool, another water option is the beach which is a short 1 block walk away. The hotel provides towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas. The parking is $15/day, which is reasonable considering all reputable hotels in the area charge for parking. Other hotels do not offer complimentary buffet breakfast, so this is a nice tradeoff. In closing, this is the second time staying in the Best Western/Seabreeze/Ft. Lauderdale, I rate this hotel a 10.

    « Best Western - 2nd time! »

This is the second time that we have stayed here. The property has changed for the good since we were here last year! The new colors and furniture have really given the Best Western an updated and tropical feel. We were happy to arrive and find our room ready. We were in the king suite and would book this room again! It includes 2 rooms,2 tv's and a whirlpool bath - which was very relaxing!! The service was satisfactory, no problems. The staff was friendly and helpful. The heated pool was great for kids and adults and was often pretty empty. We loved the breakfast choices - fruit, meats, waffles, etc. The location of the hotel is great! It only takes a few minutes to walk to the beach, about 10 minutes to walk into town and is only a 10 - 15 minute taxi ride to/from the airport. Remember you will be in southern Florida - pack sunscreen and bug spray (although we didn't see any mosquitoes). We also took the Sun Trolley ($1) into town, went to the Publix store and purchased snacks and a large umbrella that we used at the beach daily. Would we come back? Yes!!

« Comfortable hotel in a beautiful location »

Hotel seems a bit old, but has been well maintained and was really an exceptional value. Not on the beach, but very close to the public beach area. Staff are great, pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was the expected, and always good. The guys in the bar were always responsive and helpful. The room decor was great, and the bathroom with 6 shower heads was fantastic.

    « Worth the Cost »

Excellent location near the beach. Hotel was average but was well kept with friendly staff. I would stay here again if I am in the Ft. Lauderdale area. It is very close to many restaurants, shops and activities such as day trips for fishing, snorkeling and diving..

    « Great place & Staff »

I was here for family business and wanted a place close to the beach without paying a fortune. When I arrived and was checking the young lady Christina was trying to set me up with what I reserved but my mind was else where, I got to my room and I flipped I thought I reserved poolside, I called down and was on the phone with a gentleman (Rafeal) and he said we do have 1 poolside but you are right on the pool and its a smaller room, I opted to stay where I was. Well a little while later Christina called and apologized she thought our room would be better. Its grea to see staff go the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied

    « So friendly »

After a missed flight home and 26+ hour without sleep, the lovely ladies the morning of June 15th, 2016 were a blessing! They were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. They rushed the cleaning of a room so my kids could finally sleep. After such a bad experience at the airport we felt well cared for at Best Western Ft. Lauderdale and will return to this very friendly place. Thank you all again!!!

« Great location in Fort Lauderdale »

This Best Western hotel is just around the corner from the beach, a 1 minute walk to the foreshore and restaurants and bars. We chose to eat at the hotel bar and found the snack meals to be very enjoyable (Nachos & vegetarian burger). Our bed was super comfortable and all staff were very professional and friendly, especially Nico behind the bar. The breakfast room was great, very well set out, the best that we have been in.

    « could be better »

the room it self was great check in was not a great experience . the check in time nedds to be eariler and the check out needs to be a little later. The front desk person was rude and had no care in the world.

    « Love it! »

It was one of the best hotels I've been in. Even though it's small, it's very cosy and comfortable. Pool, breakfast, internet, room... everything was on point. The only thing I had a problem with was the parking. I understand the parking lot is under construction but when I came back from a night out there was not parking available and it's $15.95 per night. But overall, I loved it.

    « Overall a Solid Stay »

My best friend and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights (6/7-6/9) and we had an overall good experience. We both took early fights and got in well before check in time. We stopped by the hotel to see if our room was ready and it was not. Totally okay; the very polite employee working the front desk gave us a parking pass if we wanted to park and walk around while we waited for our room to be ready. The hotel has been recently renovated: the building has changed colors, the shared balconies have become private, the lobby and breakfast area totally redone, and the guest rooms have been refreshed. It has really helped make the whole property look more modern and clean. Pretty much the entire hotel has been renovated from the ground up. The only downside to all this renovating is there was still some construction going on and you could hear it starting at 9am. Also the hotel behind is going through a major overhaul so, until that is complete, would highly recommend staying on the side of the hotel facing the pool. Our guestroom was very comfortable and clean. We were on the second floor and, instead of a private balcony, these rooms open on to a shared sundeck that overlooks the pool area. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom adequate, if a bit on the smaller side but they make good use of the space. The pool area looked very clean although we did not use it. The beach is about a two minute walk from the hotel. The only downside we found was in order to get to the beach we had to walk past a lot of construction, a very smelly dumpster, and quite a bit of standing water. However the benefits of not having to cross the very busy road outweigh the less than "scenic" walk and this is not the hotels fault. The hotel is also located in a great location close to everything yet tucked in the quieter corner of the beach. Very easy access to the airport, downtown Fort Lauderdale, major roads, restaurants, shops, and the cruise terminal. The breakfast was very good for complimentary and was well stocked and clean. The employees were also very friendly as they were throughout the entire property; many friendly faces and hello's as you walked around. Overall would definitely recommend staying here to anyone especially if you are on a budget. Even though the hotel is not technically oceanfront the price is a bargain compared to the rest of the hotels in the area.

    4
    « Good Value Hotel »

Nice hotel with helpful staff. The only negative we found was that we were in a room with an adjoining door to another room where there was a baby crying through the night. That happens, and we weren't saying in a $500/night room at the Hilton, so we were happy to put up with the noise for the two nights before those people checked out. We did wonder though if there should be some form of sound insulation with interconnecting rooms like that. All in all though we enjoyed our time there, and we will certainly stay there next time we're in Ft Lauderdale.

« Great hotel with a great location »

Me and my family just love the Oceanside Inn. The location by the beach and walking distance to the restaurants is great. We have stayed here four times and this summer will be our fifth stay at the hotel.

    « perfect! »

My mom and I stayed here for a quick trip to Ft Lauderdale the weekend before memorial day. The free breakfast helped us save money having one less meal to figure out every day, it was walking distance from the beach, and a little bit further of a walk to restaurants other than the few immediately near by. The pool was wonderful, plenty of lounge chairs especially on the second level of the outdoor area and the staff was soooo helpful, kind, and polite. They even had some beach chairs we could borrow for the beach from past guests who bought chairs and didnt want to travel home with them. The room was exactly as pictured, very clean and comfortable. Not only would I recommend staying here, I personally plan to be back. Worth every penny.

« Even better than I had remembered..... »

For reasons I cannot imagine, I have not been here in over fifteen years. It was my place to go several times a year, and now I see what I have been missing. I was only there for a short two day stay, but was more than impressed. The place is unrecognizable from the old days....and looks as if it has just had a complete remodel. From the lobby to the rooms, everything was clean, new, and beautiful. There was a great full breakfast that came with my room, and all the help was the best. I was so great to still see a few of the old crew!!! Rose is still doing a wonderful job in food and beverage....Maria still running a top notch housekeeping staff...and even one of the maintenance managers was still there....it was like old home week!!! You will not be disappointed with a visit to this hotel....for two days, or two weeks..

    « Nice Stay »

I stayed here before a cruise with my 12 year old grandson. The room was very comfortable, the beach was only a few hundred feet behind us and there were a lot of restaurants within walking distance. My grandson loved the pool and the bar there has a small grill menu which was just fine for us....and good Bloody Mary's! The breakfast in the morning was very nice with several hot and cold selections and someone always being attentive to cleaning and guest needs. I'd definitely stay here again.

Quietest nights sleep ever in a hotel. At check in switched our room from one next to elevator to a middle of the hallway with no argument from desk clerk. « Always love my stays here! »

This is the second time that we have chosen to stay at this hotel prior to our cruise. We really enjoy the pool, the breakfast and the close proximity to the beach. There are added touches to this hotel that makes it stand out from the others. For example, they have pool noodles and balls that my 9 yr old daughter loves to play with. Also, they offer complimentary beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas to use at the beach. The breakfast is the best that we have had at any hotel. They have recently remodeled the lobby area and revamped the menu options available at the bar/restaurant.

    « I LOVE it here! »

I've been the the Best Western Oceanside a handful of times and I will continue to go back! We just recently visited good ol' Fort Lauderdale for a girls weekend and this was my first choice of hotel! It was recently renovated and now has a full kitchen so everything you need is in one place! The complimentary breakfast is a plus and they never hesitate to hold your bags if you have a late flight or early arrival! The staff is friendly, helpful, courteous, and treat you like family! They seem to have been there for a long time and remember you even if its been a while! Sarah and Rose are the best bartenders! Love those ladies! Keep up the good work and see you next year!

« Great location for price. »

This small hotel is nestled among the giant Condos and Hotels right on the beautiful Ft. Lauderdale beach. Walking distance to the site of the Las Olas Beach/Park. Personally, I have never been to such a beautiful beach. Ft. Lauderdale is developed around it. This hotel must have been part of earlier development. The size gives it away. Recent renovation makes it quite comfortable, yet very affordable.

The hotel had a homely feel and the staff were friendly. We had a pool-side room on the ground floor which was comfortable and clean. The coffee in the room was very good and location of the Best Western was great for the beach and some local restaurants. Didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. Easy access via cab to Port Everglades for the embarkation for the cruise.

    « Gem Discovered »

I booked this hotel based on the Best Western brand, other reviews and because it is within walking distance to the beach. I was pleased to discover upon arrival that this BW is small, boutique-like with a small number of extremely friendly family like staff, All whom we encountered were friendly and extremely accommodating and provided excellent customer service- which is what keeps me as a loyal customer. Special thanks to the front lobby staff- Theresa- front end manager, Rafael, Kasandhra and Sirena; to Michael- chief engineer and security, Nico and Tom- bar cocktail technicians. I did have one issue with a hotel staff person, which I did not plan to mention. I do so only because Theresa, front desk manager responded and resolved the issue IMMEDIATELY and the staffer apologized to us personally. Thank you BW Oceanside, FT Lauderdale Florida. We will return, hopefully, annually. Blessings.

    « Best Western Oceanside »

This is a great value hotel in a great location. It's a real oasis among all the big commercial hotels on the beach. Beach access is great and within walking distance to all the A1A bars, restaurants and shops. The staff is great and accommodating and the facility is clean and updated.

    5
    « Great Location »

I have been staying at the Best Western Oceanside for years and would not consider staying anywhere else when I travel to the Fort Lauderdale area. It is convenient to the airport, restaurants, the beach, and the businesses that I visit. Carolina Bello and her staff are the best.

    « What a FANTASTIC little place! »

We booked a suite as I knew the location was great for the suites. They walk out to the pool. We arrived early and our room wasn't ready so we parked it outside by the pool and grabed a few cocktail from the bar and enjoyed the Florida sun until our room was ready. Great room, quite spacious. Nice big bathroom as well. Not a lot around this hotel though, which I knew, but booked it as the price was right! Breakfast was great for an included breakfast. Fruit, eggs, sausage, cereal, waffles....your typical fare but nice that it was not just a continental breakfast. Not exactly beach front but you can access the beach quite easily. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

    « our getaway »

Even with all the construction going on our stay was still very enjoyable. The front desk staff the bar staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great with a large assortment of items and again a very friendly staff to help you out. Our room was very comfortable. We could not give this place anything less then EXCELLENT.

« Nice hotel, good value »

Hotel is vey nice, great pool area as well. good value for the money. Location is very good in Ft Lauderdale. Also very close to the beach (which we didn't have time to use) The balcony above pool deck was a nice feature, very quiet and relaxing

« Great visit before cruise »

We recently stayed here for two nights before our cruise. We were very impressed with this hotel. Fantastic location. Close to water taxi; restaurants, shops and beach. We would strongly recommend the hotel to anyone staying in Fort Lauderdale.

What a great stay..location was good..loved the balcony pool view. Breakfast good...still need to have turkey or beef products for people who don't eat pork...second stay so I really am comfortable in your hotels.

    « Spring vacation »

We stayed here 1 night at the beginning of our vacation and the last night also. Rooms are small. 1st night we had no view but that was OK. Breakfast was great, quite a few choices, both hot and cold. Staff was good at the front desk both nights.

« Late April Spring Vacation »

Hotel was nice place to stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating. This hotel was priced right for the location being close to the beach and a short cab ride from the airport. I would stay at this hotel again. Plus the hotel is currently going through cosmetic upgrades that went practically un-noticed.

« Convenient for the beach (and cruise ships) »

Stayed one night, two couples. We had a room on the second floor with a nice large patio out the sliding doors overlooking the pool. The other couple were across the hall in a similar room with a balcony overlooking the back of the hotel, their room was quieter than ours. The rooms had a coffee maker and a microwave oven and were clean and looked as if they'd been recently refurbished. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful and a full breakfast and free wifi was included in the price. There was also a small exercise room with some basic equipment and a bar which also served snacks. Good location, three minutes walk to the beach and a sun trolley stop just outside, which takes you along the beachfront to the Galleria mall for $1 each way or $3 all day use. You can also download the sun trolley app and track the location of the trolleys in real time. Taxi from the airport was $20 including tip and about the same to the port if you're heading out on a cruise. I'd stay there again if the price was right, as I can't think of any downside.

« No view, but good location, pretty well kept up and good price »

I did a lot of research before booking this hotel as I wanted something on the beach for the right price. We had room 320 which is two queen beds. There was a shower (no bath) with a rain head, regular head, and various body sprayers. The fan in our bathroom did not work, however. Since we only stayed one night I didn't request maintenance. Our hotel room had a microwave and small fridge. The beds are comfortable and the room was pretty clean. The hotel overall has a nice appeal to it with recent updates. While I'm not sure what the top level can see, it seems like none of the rooms have a view of the water and if they do, it's got to be very obstructed. The pool area is basic, but they do provide towels. As everyone has stated, the location is pretty great. It's a 3-5 minute walk to the beach which is also a park. There are palm trees, numerous picnic tables, and beach volleyball courts. We walked across the street to the Bahai Cabana restaurant for dinner which I recommend for a cheap bite or happy hour. See my review there. Additionally, there is also a full bar in the lobby that also offers sandwiches, hot dogs, snacks, etc. The breakfast was good and the dining area is very nice for a Best Western. Parking in their garage was $15 per day.

« Good and just ok »

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights following our cruise. We weren't ready to end our vacation. This place was very expensive for what you got. The room wasn't large but it was clean. There was a cafe/bar where you could get finger foods. It was a walk to any restaurant in the area and they were expensive. No fast food in the area. There was not direct access to the beach it was a walk also. The best thing about this place is, it had the best continental breakfast we have ever had.

    3
« Pain in the neck survey »

Room too small for 2 queen beds. Get a room with either a king bed or doubles. The survey is too long and annoying for something is voluntary. We wanted to get out of the room only to be told to use more words in this box!

    3
    « So So! »

For the high price we paid, we ended up with a view of the wall of the hotel next door at the back of the hotel. Next time I will ask for confirmation of room location before booking the room. Overall, we got what we expected from the hotel chain.

    4
« Best price and service great location »

Hotel is in great location. Walking distance to beach, to water taxi, and to several bars and restaurants. The price is very good. Rooms were clean, breakfast was fresh .The Staff were all accommodating. They set up all our transfers, offered us a ride anywhere we wanted to go. I would stay here again.

    « One night »

Great location, clean good breakfast at night some loud spring breakers but it was spring break time! Place nice for families. The rooms were roomy, clean and comfortable except for the sofa bed it was very bad as though springs were coming out of it. Room service attendants were very pleasant.

    « Close to Ocean! »

This is the 2nd time staying at BestWestern Oceanside Inn and was very happy again! You can walk to a great beach (behind hotel), free waffles for breakfast, visit a close hotel for their Starbucks, walk to a fabulous fish taco on the river and catch a water taxi to walk around for galleries, shops and ice cream! Comfortable bed with plenty of room. Small-sized and only partially updated bathroom, but friendlier on the wallet than surrounding hotels! Will plan on this hotel again!

« Here now at BW »

We are here now at the BW,our pre cruise hotel. It is pretty much as we expected based on reviews we have read. Pool area nice, drinks are good and not a long walk to the bar, people at the front desk very helpful,Rooms are ok,bed comfortable. Hotel is clean although still feels a little dated. Lots of construction around and noisy for the most part. They are setting up on the beach for a large C&W event so a mile of the beach is closed off. Although we are ok with this hotel it is isolated a bit and is a long walk to most restaurants and bars. Just ok for pre-cruise.

    « Nice Hotel »

Beautifully decorated and clean. Loved the breakfast also. This hotel is in a good location, close to restaurants, shopping. Short walk to the water taxi to enjoy the intercoastal waterway. The staff was very pleasant. Would definitely stay again.

« Great location, good property »

We stayed at this property for a few days pre-cruise. Easy access from the airport and to the cruise terminal. Best to take the shuttle (at a fixed price) to the cruise terminal as traffic delays can easily run up the fare on a taxi. Room was spacious and well-appointed. The property was well-maintained and the staff people were great. We'll be back next time in Fort Lauderdale.

« A decent hotel spoiled by small details »

The hotel is located a few steps away from the beach with no direct access to it. The cost and popularity reflected this - the hotel was fully booked on our first night and nearly full for the other two nights. The only problem with the location was that there are very few places to eat out within walking distance. The building is not old and overall it seems to be fairly well maintained. Our room had a balcony, which was nice even though the view was of the hotel beside us. However there are a couple of things that were not good. These initially made us feel that this was a poor quality, poorly run hotel (which it is certainly not), but first impressions are hard to change. (A) The front elevator is small and busy. There is a second (slightly larger) elevator at the rear of the building, but you have to walk through a maze of passages to access it on the ground floor. Better signage might help, but a more direct path to it on the ground floor is what's really required. (B) Because of the wait times for the front elevator many use the stairs. These are poorly maintained in terms of cleanliness and paint, creating a poor impression of the hotel in general (made me wonder what the kitchen looked like!). (C) Breakfast reminded us of a "bun-fight", with people all trying to grab what food they could. Obvious problems were that the hot food was not being prepared quickly enough to meet the demands (basically the staff were not tracking what foods needed to be replenished), plus the area where breakfast is served has a poor layout for self-service. (D) Also the scrambled eggs served at breakfast (if you were "lucky" enough to get any) were poor quality (made from powder?) and unappetizing. Plus the coffee was undrinkable. Personally I would have preferred just a continental breakfast with more choice of rolls and better coffee. I think this would also solve most problems at breakfast.

« Great Location post cruise »

We thought the hotel was located in a great location close to the beach and water taxi. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was pleasant and kind to store our luggage until the rooms were ready. We had an early morning flight so did not eat at the facility.

    4
    « Pretty Good...But.... »

The great parts......the location is super, very close to the beach, not far from the airport and cruise terminal. Room was very spacious and clean. Nice staff. Free breakfast was absolutely great. Wifi worked super. Only downfalls for us... We were one of the few not to have a balcony and our air conditioner was a bit on the noisy side. Would stay here again but be sure to book early enough and ensure I had a balcony.

    « Great Hotel »

We loved staying at this hotel! Very convenient to the beach and ocean walk way - easy cab ride from the airport! We love to visit Fort Lauderdale and will recommend this hotel to all our friends and relatives! This hotel is great for couples or for families and also a great place to stay before and after a cruise trip!

    « Another great stay »

This is the 4th time I've stayed here prior to a cruise. There have been some renovations since my last visit and it's looking very nice. Thought I'd got the wrong hotel when I arrived - lol! Look forward to staying again next year.

    4
« Perfect spot at a great price »

Just stayed here for an overnight prior to a cruise. The location can't be beat! It is close to everything-the beach, shops, restaurants and bars. It is on the beach side of the street, so to get yours toes in the sand, it's only a short walk. There are also a ton of places to eat, drink or shop at just a few blocks away-a short stroll up the main drag and the possibilities are endless. Our room was clean and quiet, check in and out was a breeze and it made the stay before a cruise into our own "mini-vacation". An added bonus-the early morning complimentary breakfast. It had a great selection (healthy choices included) and the make your own waffles were fantastic!

    4
    « Great location »

We stayed here for two days before our cruise and we really liked the property. It's in an excellent location, close to the beach and to the intercoastal waterway. Rooms were clean and a good size. Beds were very comfortable. However, the air conditioning unit is very loud and actually woke us up. The exterior and lobby could use some updating. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

    5
« Great place for a lay over. Close to all amenities ( beach, restaurants etc.) Good price. »

Great location, rooms all recently upgraded. Excellent pool. Breakfast is very extensive and sets you up for the day. The only gripe is " why do you charge for overnight garage parking?" Nowadays this is usually part of the package.

    4
« Before and After Cruise »

We stayed here a day before and 3 days after our cruise. Check in was quick and efficient on Saturday but can be a bit longer on Sunday when cruisers are checking out and in. It was only a short walk to get to the beach boardwalk and many bars and restaurants on Seabreeze Blvd. The hotel is not in the busy part of Fort Lauderdale Beach, so its a bit quieter. The rooms were neat and clean but the beds are showing their age and the air conditioner needs a good cleaning in the vents. The buffet breakfast was hot and ample for a Bestwestern. Friendly front desk and breakfast staff.

    « Our 2016 Cruise »

We have stayed at this Hotel for the past 5 years and always have 3 rooms and stay 2 nights. The staff is great and so is the location. We Cruise out of Port Everglades and this is the perfect place to stay. They have finished their renovations and everything looks wonderful and the included breakfast is really good. Great place to stay for a night or 2 weeks.

    4
« Great Location, with a Price to Match! »

The hotel is about 100 yards from the beach and promenade. It's about a 10 minute walk from the bars and restaurants further along the seafront. The staff were very nice and friendly. The pool area is fine - there is a sunbathing terrace up some stairs from the pool, which provides more space and privacy. Buffet breakfast is basic and unfortunately is of the paper plates and plastic utensils variety. A bit of a shame for a hotel which was by far the most expensive we stayed in whilst touring Florida. It is (I think) $15 per day to park here, although the parking area was open and handy. The gym is tiny, but usable.

    3
« This is an older hotel that has had some renovation but still needs a little improvement. »

Keeping in mind that this is an older hotel and some renovations aren't going to change that. The pool area didn't look as nice in person as it did in the photos we saw. The pool itself is very old, had some mold under the lip around the pool and the first thing we saw as we stepped into the pool was a sucker stick and oily substance floating on the step. The water was warm and we really enjoyed not having a chilly pool. Our room was updated and clean. We arrived at the hotel from our cruise about around 11:30ish and it was pretty chaotic. We had to wait about an hour to get in our room so the early check in was appreciated. We used the pool while we waited. They had two elevators but the front one was broke and the second one broke while we were there. We had to go up and down 4 flights of stairs. The back stairs were dirty and smelly on the bottom floor. We feel we were a little mislead about the distance to the beach (the reason for choosing this hotel) only to find out that there was another hotel directly behind this hotel and that hotel was beach front not this hotel. It wasn't far to the beach but not what we had expected. We left to early in the morning to try the complimentary breakfast. I wouldn't want to stay here for a vacation but it was fine for a one night layover from a cruise.

    3
    « Overnight stay »

The hotel is very dated desperately in need of a makeover. Our room overlooked extensive renovations of the building next door. This room was quiet (until the builders arrived) except the air conditions unit is very noisy at night. Breakfast, included, was basic buffet fare. Small pool, nice, but, smokers seemed to congregate there making sitting outside "smelly". Overall, an okay hotel for a stopover, with quite a walk to any restaurants or shops.

    5
« Excellent facility. Great room and wide variety breakfast offering. »

Spent two weeks there. Fifth yearly stay. Excellent staff, comfortable pool area and conveniently located to Fort Lauderdale beach (short walk). Room each year was quite and relaxing. Rooms were very clean. Convenient and free indoor parking on premises.

    « hotel »

It was a nice hotel, except we were overcharged at the bar and that left a bad taste about the hotel. The location was very nice and it was small enough that it was cozy. But again the overcharge at the bar lowered my review.

    « One night stay »

My husband and I stayed at this hotel 3 years ago and decided to stay again for one day after our cruise. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered the lobby and the hotel had undergone a renovation. Amazingly enough we were given the same room we had the first time but what a change. The décor in the room was beautiful and the shower was amazing. We spend some time by the pool which is heated and had a couple drinks. Very relaxing. The location is very good for the beach and a nice strip with alot of restaurants. They do charge an additional $15 per day for parking which I think is unnecessary.

    4
« Best value for location »

The best thing about staying at this hotel is value and location. It is located very close to Ft. Lauderdale beach and probably the best price for a beach close hotel! It is kinda plain but very clean. It is also close to Las Olas Blvd. and so within walking distance to all those great shops, restaurants etc.!

    5
    « Beach Hotel »

We have stayed at this hotel now on 2 visits after a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale. It is close to the beach, cafes, beach shopping, Port Everglades, airport, water-taxi tour - just a nice smaller hotel with excellent service, nice pool/deck area, complimentary breakfast - very clean hotel. We would stay here again !

    5
    « Best Best Western »

This may be my favourite best western (and I've stayed in countless across the country) The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast is incredible (we are vegan/vegetarian) with lots of options, also a great location for the beach and to catch the water taxi.

    3
    « Good hotel »

Room 318.The hotel is nice and has a good HOT breakfast but they were not accommodating about an early check in even when I requested and got no response... our plane arrived @6am and when we arrived we were told we would have to wait untill 3pm.... even knowing that we were there I had to involve an manager when checkout is 11 and by 1pm our room still wasn't ready...also the patio/balcony had a view that wasnt the best but wasn't the worst... other than that this hotel is a nice place to stay

    5
« Even better than before! »

This is the third time we have stayed at this property, either pre or post cruise. What a big difference from a year ago! The Reception area has been completely reconfigured and renovated. The complimentary breakfast has more selections than a year previous. Our room was freshly updated. Clean, bright, with a comfortable bed. It's just a few minutes walk to the beach and restaurants. Compared to other hotels in the area, this one is on the lower end of pricing, but still seems very expensive for a modest Best Western. But it's best selling feature is location, location, location.

    5
« Great way to end a cruise »

We were at the Hotel after an 8 day cruise. Easy to get to, lots of action and the beach is nearby. Nice place. That's all I really have to say but for some reaso TripAdvisor has a 200 character minimum so this last sentence is filler

    4
    « Pre-cruise beach holiday »

Although this hotel is not right on the beach, it is very close with only a short walk and is a lot cheaper than the other options closer to the beach. The pool was great for the children. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

    « A great location but, cannot recommend . »

We currently stayed one night after returning from a cruise were very pleased with the location of the hotel to the beautifully kept beach and convenient restuarants . I must say, I was dissatisfied with the appearance as we entered the hotel. It was stated as a Best Western Plus and having stayed in over forty Best Western's throughout the U.S., I didn't feel it met the standards it should have . Yes, the hotel was freshly painted but the quality of the workmanship was lacking as in, painting over whatever was left on the walls or woodwork and the bathroom was clean, but, lacked quality for the price you pay. We did have to change our room because our headboard backed up to the elevator, very loud. The second room we had, had a distinct odor, not sure what it was. I am not one to complain but, I probably would not stay there again.

    « Everything went perfectly. »

We stayed a double room for a long weekend in the beginning of February. We had a late check in and everything went smoothly. There was a lot of activity in the lobby area during most of our stay. This hotel seems to do a lot of business with cruisers who are extending their vacations. We had a great visit. The hotel has been renovated and refreshed from top to bottom. Our room facing the pool was clean and comfortable. Even though we were close to the elevator, we didn't hear any noise. Breakfast was good and definitely better than the carb loaded continental breakfasts you find at many hotels. I will also add that I have stayed at a good number of hotels along Fort Lauderdale beach and I can't think any that had a complimentary breakfast. One should definitely take this into consideration when thinking about costs. The hotel is in a good location. I've seen some reviewers complain about proximity to the beach. It is oceanSIDE and not ocean FRONT. The hotel makes no claims of being ocean front. The beach is just a few steps away. Also, there are plenty of dining options within walking distance. A car isn't really necessary. My only concern is that there is only one elevator and on busy days this can get rather busy during check out time. This isn't a high rise, so I had no issues taking the stairs, though someone with limited mobility may have an issue with this. Thanks for a great stay.

    5
« Definitely recommend, great location »

Located just around the corner from Fort Lauderdale Beach with fabulous restaurants nearby. We have stayed here before, but since they have renovated even better place to stay. 10 mins from the cruise port, great location if you aren't driving outside of Fort Lauderdale and great spot for stay before or after cruise.

    4
« Nicely renovated hotel, clean and good location! »

Great location near Ft Lauderdale beach, just steps away to the beach. Hotel was recently renovated so it has a fresh "new" feel to it. In comparison to the prices of other Ft Lauderdale beach hotels, this was a great value for a cheaper price and a clean fresh hotel. Would stay here again and recommend it to others. I would say the lobby and bar area is small, so if you are looking for a place to "hangout" at night, there isn't much of a common area, but that wasn't a big deal to us.

    5
« Great hotel to stay prior to a cruise! »

My husband and I stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise sailing out of Port Everglades. Not being familiar with the area, we were not sure whether this would be a good place to stay, but it turned out to be the perfect place for us. Located a block or two from the beach, there is no ocean view, but the area is nice and it's an easy walk to the beach area. The hotel has been recently renovated and is clean and comfortable. There is a casual bar area, which you don't see in most hotels of this level, and they offered nightly happy hours. We enjoyed cocktails at the pool, directly adjoining the bar area. Our bed was comfortable, the room neat and clean, the bathroom more than adequate and clean. We especially enjoyed the balcony overlooking the pool. What a nice unexpected treat. One of the things we always appreciate at Best Western hotels is the free breakfast area. For other meals, there are little to no restaurants close by, so we decided to take the water taxi from the marina (a few blocks away) and visit the Las Olas shopping district. We also took the water taxi to Hollywood Beach, a beautiful recently renovated area with a 2.9 mile boardwalk and Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville Resort, along with numerous restaurants and shops. For pre-cruising, the hotel offers a shuttle to Port Everglades. Taxis are also available. It is a quick 10-15 ride to the cruise port. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good hotel prior to a cruise, or simply looking for a beach vacation in Fort Lauderdale.

« Great location for exploring »

I booked the Best Western for its proximity to the beach without paying oceanfront prices. While not inexpensive, the location was great - only a few steps from beach access, the free hot breakfast was extensive and a great time saver, the pool was clean and the front desk was helpful. Parking costs $15 per day, but that seemed normal for Ft. Lauderdale. Unlike many reviewers before me who said parking spaces were very tight, I found them to be no problem at all. Since checkout was 11 am and our flight didn't depart til 8PM, we were permitted to leave the car parked while we spent the day. (Note: the airport is only about 6 miles away, but rush hour traffic is a nightmare.) Our room was not very spacious, but fine for two people. All rooms have been refurbished in bright colors. There is a large flat screen tv, refrigerator and coffee maker in the room. All rooms seemed to have nice balconies (I would suggest getting a pool view, otherwise you have an alley or street view.) The bathroom was clean, but very small. Little counter space, but that was ok. All in all, it was a great experience.

« Clean, comfy beds, good location »

From the pics on Trip Advisor it is obvious that this hotel has done a major, beautiful renovation on the lobby. Beds were very comfortable although the rooms are not huge. The building is obviously old, but kept up nicely. A block from a really nice area of the beach with volleyball courts and picnic tables. A bit of a walk to bars and restaurants but a cab ride was very cheap! While the staff at the front desk didn't seemed thrilled to wait on us and one staff gave us incorrect info about cabs, the bartenders were super nice. This hotel has an AWESOME continental breakfast. Great selection and beatifully presented. Hostess could have been more pleasant but was a great benefit to staying here!! One downside ... when I called in November I was told construction was complete but Monday morning it was obvious it was still happening. Didn't effect us too much, but definitely still happening. I do appreciate the updating and trying to make the hotel more updated. Small pool but nice and great sundeck on second tier. A good stay.

    « Acceptable for 1 night stay. »

Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was above expectations. Hotel was older and has been updated. The room did have a musty odor. Cleanliness was fine. Parking lot was a little tight but close to the elevator to go right up to room. Entrance/exit was also tight for car.

« Sun, beach, warm pool and inviting deck. »

I arrived at this hotel not knowing what to expect and was delightfully surprised with the services provided at a reasonable price. A cafe with pretty good hamburgers. Happy hour from 4 to 7. Heated pool and a breakfast worth getting up for. I would recommend this hotel for a one nighter waiting for your cruise or for a week wanting to explore Fort Lauderdale. Enjoy.

« Great One Night Stay »

We stayed here pre-cruise and arrived about 8pm. This was booked through Priceline and we got an incredible deal on it (later realized it was a glitch in the system... the price was too good to be true, but they did honour it) The room was fine for a one night stay. The bed was comfortable. The bathrooms could use a renovation and cleaning staff could definitely pay a bit more attention to detail as there were black hairs in the bathtub and on the toilet. The location was perfect -- close to the port ($15 taxi ride, including a quick stop at Walgreens to pick up supplies), close to the airport ($17 taxi ride) and close enough to the beach that we could have enjoyed that too, but we did not have time. We walked down the strip about a block and had an enjoyable dinner outside at the Bahia Cabana.

« Didn't live up to my expectations »

I really had high hopes for this hotel. The reviews were mixed, which it seems they always are, but I took a leap of faith and booked it for 1 night before our cruise. The property is just down the street from the beach, which was nice, but there was construction going on next door which was loud for a time. The real problem was the lazy maintenance in the room. Cracked grout in the bathroom looked horrible. A messy caulk job on the shower pipe coming out of the wall, and it looked like a 12 year old was hired to paint a blue accent line around the bathroom. The bar was nice for a quick beer. The breakfast area was nice and the food was plentiful. The staff was nice and helpful. I don't think I'd stay again, due to the high price and shoddy maintenance.

« Decent place close to the beach »

Stayed at the Oceanside inn many times. The overall quality has been consistent. The free breakfast is less and less appealing as the room prices keep going up. The rooms are clean and updated however the bedding is uncomfortable. The best asset here is the proximity to the beach.

« Another Good Stay at the Best Western Oceanside »

We have made a habit of staying at the Best Western Oceanside Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. We use this hotel as a venue for either our pre or post cruise travels. It is conveniently located near the airport and cruise-port. Why are we loyal to this hotel? It is the staff that really makes the difference. The front desk employees and the breakfast room employees are always very helpful and understanding of our unique needs. We should also mention that the hotel has been recently renovated. The new paint, new furnishings and updating was really appreciated.

« Nice Place for Short Visit »

We stayed at the Oceanside Plus the night before a cruise out of Port Everglades. We had a room with two double beds on the sundeck. The hotel has recently been remodeled. We found the room and bathroom to be nice. I do agree that the air conditioning is not the best. Our room was either too cold or too hot. Hard to find that comfortable spot. Beds were comfortable. Rooms had mini fridge and microwave. There is a free breakfast in the morning. It was good, good variety, lots of places to sit. There is a also a bar that is open during happy hour. But I don't believe they had any food. We did not get to use the pool because it was a little cool the night we were there. You are about half a block from the beach. Again, it was a little cool when we were there so we did spend much time down there. There is a nice beach park with a playground about 2 blocks up. And if you walk another 1/2 mile north there are a bunch of restaurants and bars across from the beach. Its super close to the cruise terminal and we took a cab the next day and were there within 5 minutes. They do have a shuttle that comes but it was $8/pp and with 6 of us it was cheaper to take two cabs. But for only two people it was probably worth it. Would stay here again before or after a cruise.

« Lovely beach area hotel »

This is an remodeled hotel in very good condition with underground parking. You can walk to the beach which is also a fairly good sized city park. It is a lovely, sandy, beachfront park where you can enjoy the ocean. This park is right next to the hotel property. The hotel rooms are clean. Enjoyed the location. Only a few miles from Port Everglades.

    « Weekly stay »

Our company stays at this fine establishment every week. Not only are the rooms great to come to after a long day of hard work, but the staff is extraordinary! Always helpful and welcoming. Especially Megan. She's awesome! Thanks for always taking care of us each week.

« Nice comfortable hotel stay »

We stayed here in January 2016. The hotel had an amazing free hot breakfast with lots of food choices. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. Parking cost 15 bucks but not too bad considering its in a prime location. The hotel was a short walk to the beach. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing stay.

Had a great stay, everything perfect. Breakfast was great, rooms were clean, bed was comfy, and the staff was very nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Loved the location, not too far from everything but far enough close enough to get to.

    « Just "o.k" »

We stayed here one night before our cruise and one night after. The best thing about this hotel is the breakfast! And free wi-fi. Everything else needs help. On our first night we were in a room by the pool and the air conditioning sounded like a helicopter! And the room needed some definite TLC. On our second night we were on the second floor with a door adjoining to another room where a kid was crying all night. The walls were really thin. Also, we asked for an early check-in on the first night but didn't get our room till well after the standard check-in time. Price was good though....we used airmiles to book....so I'd probably stay here again but hopefully we'll get better service.

    « Bed Bug Nightmare »

We stayed on the second floor, the room seemed nice enough and the bed was very comfy. We stayed for 6 nights and the day we were heading home we started noticing bites on my son and I also had a few but not as bad as my son. We had walked through some weeds so I thought they might be chippers or something. By the time we got ho.e and the next morning the bites had become extremely itchy and blistering weird looking. We went to the emergency room a d found out that they were bed bug bites and we were treated for such with shots and creams and they cleared up. We treated our luggage and house for them and luckily never transferred or killed any that came back with us. Our luggage was off the floor so they may have not gotten in it. I called the hotel to tell them the room we stayed in and they said to me they don't have bed bugs and that was pretty much that. Went back a few months later and stayed at the Ritz with a good experience and have also stayed at the Harbor Beach Marriott Resort with no problems which also has a great gym.

    « Much Improved Hotel »

When we last visited this hotel seven years ago it was very ordinary However, it has now moved up several levels following some major refurbishment and turned out to be one of the best hotel we stayed at on this tour. The reception area has been opened up and is now very light and bright and everything in the hotel is now in pristine condition, well equipped with plenty of plugs( which is not always the case in hotels) The work was still ongoing when we there some of the restrooms in the public area had not been finished. There was some drilling noise on first day and the front drive was being re- sealed but no major problems.A good location Just on the edge on all the attractions with several restaurants in walking distance.

    3
« Very close to the beach but has its issues »

This hotel has its up and downs. The main space of the rooms are very nice, comfortable, and roomy. The bathroom in our room was dated, rough, and small. The breakfast is excellent. The pool area is nice. The walk to the beach is less than 2 minutes. There is a $15 fee per day for parking that I couldn't find any reference too on the website anywhere. The woman at the front desk overcharged me for parking while she was flirting with another employee. The chambermaids were dumping some sort of cleaning water over the upper sun deck down onto the decks below with no notice or warning to guests who could have walked right under it. In relation to other hotels near by it was cheaper but you get what you pay for.

« Not "oceanside" only oceanside of street »

We stayed here for 2 nights before our cruise. The room that we stayed in had been recently renovated. The balcony had been closed in with large windows to provide more indoor room space. It was very noisy because there was no cap covering the top of the window and rain dripped very loudly on the window ledge. It rained both nights all night long. We told the front desk about the noise but nothing was done because the hotel was fully booked. The breakfast was very good. There were a lot of hot choices. It's a very good location. We could walk to to the beach and the water taxi. There is not an ocean view.

« A great place to stay for an overnighter, before another day of flying »

This hotel was a little further from the airport than I thought, but not too bad. There are actually lots nearby for restaurants, etc? Hotel was located in a tight space, but inside was very nice. Looked fresh and updated. Room was standard and still had the old fashioned air conditioning that was bulky on the window wall?the kind that blows all night and hard to adjust for comfort. Beds moved like waves at the slightest move. We are used to firmer mattresses. Other than that, clean and nice! Breakfast was roomy, big, lots of options and the best darn breakfast for the whole family. Everyone was very nice. Would stay again.

    5
    « Great overnight stop! »

Had to overnight it before our next adventure began and this hotel was a great way to unwind before another day of travel!. Lots close by! Pool area had tables and chairs to relax in and rooms were nice. Beds were the only problem as they move too much if someone blinks. (We are used to pretty firm mattresses) They do not offer a shuttle service to hotel, but can call you a cab. Breakfast was by far the BEST we've had and lots to choose from! It set the tone for the whole day!

Very Clean hotel inside, outside dated., but friendly staff, Great Breakfast, Clean Rooms, small bathrooms. Walking distance to the beach. Parking $15.00. Close to restaurants and shopping. Nice pool area.

« Newly renovated, great location »

The Oceanside has just completed a renovation and it shows throughout the hotel. Clean lines, great colours, comfortable rooms and staff that are proud of their new surroundings. Pool is small but adequate, plenty of lounge chairs around the pool and on second level sundeck. Bar ok but no restaurant to speak of which is fine as there are so many places within walking distance. Great beach access.

« best western Oceanside was average stay... »

We stayed at this hotel for 2 days, it was the most expensive place we stayed on our 4 week vacation. The cost of stay VS quality was the poorest of all the hotels we stayed in... the pool was outdated and the room was just average. I must note that the room was clean, staff was very helpful and location of this property is well suited to board a cruise ship or access most places in Fort Lauderdale.

    « Fantastc »

We have stayed at this hotel many times. It was always clean and people who work here are friendly and helpful. This year the entire hotel has been remodeled. It is beautiful. The complimentary breakfast is just great: fresh strawberries and melon in addition to oranges and apples. Cheeses, bread, eggs and so much more. Couldn't look for anything more. The hostess Rose had been here for many years and we got such a warm reception.

Perfect location for beach going, sightseeing, walking, jogging. Close to south Florida attractions, intracoastal waterway, museums, great restaurants, Everglades. Comfortable hotel. Be aware of potential extra charges before booking (parking, extra person).

« Very good hotel, right on the ocean »

We stayed two nights at this hotel in late December 2015, and we had a great time. The hotel is right on the ocean beach, so you can walk to the Atlantic Ocean. You need to go past a hotel, though, which blocked the view from our room. The breakfast was very good and free. There was a nice pool at the hotel, and they had their own parking lot on the property.

    « happy holidays »

A beautiful clean hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful. Good location for both airport and cruise terminal as well as the local sites. There is a good variety of transport for getting around, we felt there was no need to hire a car. We will definitely stay here again when next in Fort Lauderdale

    4
    « FL Vacation »

This was a good hotel. The name is a little bit of a misnomer. The name of the hotel...Best Western Plus Oceanside Inn...has minimal to do with being "oceanside." None of the rooms are oceanside nor do they have an ocean view. It is within a block of the beach, but that's about it. It's relatively close to many other places to shop & eat, but mostly have to drive. It's not a bad location if you're going to be taking a cruise. However, you will have to drive to the port or take a cab.

    3
« good location but loud aircon »

Recently renovated rooms but two things loweres my points for review: very loud aircon which had to be turned off for night sleep (very sweaty to sleep) and floor-to-floor carpeting. Floor-to-floor carpeting is something from the 70's and very unhygienic and cause of allergies /asthma. Breakfast was ok, but same bread everyday for two weeks. Very small swimming pool and too warm water (heated). Also construction in neighbour hotel cause a lot of noice so we preferred the beach. No waterboiler in room, but a coffeemaker (for two) and microvawe so we heated hot water fot tea in microvawe.

Everything was clean, rooms redone. Breakfast was excellent, waffle iron, scrambled eggs, bagels, cream cheese, sausage, thick cut ham, juice among other things. Well worth it. definitely would stay here again in a heartbeat.

« They were renovating at that time - but they are getting there. And it looks promising »

We stayed here one night, the renovation shows and it looks very nice. The rooms were excellent and above usual BW standard. Breakfast also above standard, fresh fruits. We liked it. Parking costs $15 I think per night, but not sure. Location is pretty perfect, close to the beach, and strolling along the beach side curbes.

    3
    « Poor value »

Pool area needs upgrades. It's boring. There is a lot of traffic noise and you can see all the passing trucks and cars that go by the pool so it's not very relaxing. So go for a walk to the beach just down the boardwalk. No shuttle from airport. But there is for other Best Western Hotels, like the one in Hollywood. Don't have a meal at the bar!!! Need a better menu. Never book this Hotel through Air Miles the cost sucks.

    3
« Nicely Renovated, Some Omissions »

The price is pretty good here and it is near the cruise ship piers, which to us was critical this visit. The hotel has been recently spiffed up, with high quality appointments. Everything is very clean and almost everything looks to be essential new condition. The view from our non-oceanside room opens to a building across the street, too urban for me. The oceanside rooms are likely far nicer if the view is key to you. There are some things missing, like any type of shelf in the shower for soap and shampoo. I suspect that was just missed and will likely be added at a later date.

« Value for money, cleanliness, nice location and great breakfast! »

This hotel is situated at the beach in Fort Lauderdale and is a close neighbor to the posh and expensive Marriott. I had the pleasure of attending a conference there in December and visited a double room at the top floor which was not any nicer than mine, although the view was great. I prefer the Best Western- less of all the stress and much cheaper while being more than nice enough! The hotel is recently refurbished very nicely. Everything looks nice and the room was spacious and nice. Cleaning was top-notch every day. Breakfast was included and had everything I could ask for- you could make your own waffles. There was several hot dishes to choose from, fresh fruit, eggs, yoghurts, several juices etc. The pool is large enough for a swim and the fitness room had dumbells (could use heavier ones- largest were 50 pounds), a threadmill, a rowing machine, a stationary bike and one other machine. There was a machine for doing cable exercises and chins. Fully adequate! All this came at a very reasonable price. Considering that it is only a 5 minute walk to beach- this is great value.

« Decent and fairly priced »

Though there is no airport shuttle their breakfast was excellent. The lobby and entrance is less than inviting, but the rooms were good and a small bar area was adequate. The pool area is very nice too. The location, close to the beach was very nice with some restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk. The overall decor seemed updated compared to their price competitors. Decent value and a good night's sleep.

« Nicely renovated and comfortable »

The hotel is newly remodeled and I think they did a good job. I think renovations are still going on because I hear construction noise during the day. The rooms are clean and everything is updated. Good quality hi-def TV with HBO and Cinemax included with room. There are ample electrical outlets with many plenty of charging outlets. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is updated and clean. The hotel seems well constructed and is quiet inside. As is the norm, the room comes with free breakfast. At this location parking is $15 a night. The front desk staff is polite and helpful. Overall, this is a very nice place to stay and I don't have significant complaints.

    4
    « Liked it »

The renos continue outside which required some loud drilling which was a bit annoying around the pool area. Also there is a lane way to condos behind the pool which also created considerable noise ie delivery truck, waste pick up etc. I realize this is not the hotels fault but during the day, if you are looking for quiet around the pool during the week, you may find it frustrating at times. The hotel itself is quite nice, clean and the front desk staff very pleasant and helpful when needed. The room was very nice, beds comfortable and at night very quiet. It is a quick walk to the beach which we liked. All in all it was nice and would return.

« Stay at Best Western Plus Ocenside »

Stayed here a year ago while there was construction going on, not a pleasant stay. Decided to try them again and we were very pleased. They far surpassed my expectations and I will stay here again. The room and building as a whole was much better, clean and well done. The breakfast was very good and well presented. Also handy for the airport and cruise port. Only down side and not that critical is the lack of a lot of restaurants in the area. One very good one just a five minute walk.

« They remodeled but where did they spend the money ??? »

Front desk staff who checked me in on 11/13 was fantastic this young lady went out of her way to be helpful. Lobby area very nice and new, pretty. Our room was okay I think housekeeping does a great job keeping the rooms up. Having said that there was mold in the bathroom, light fixtures were well ...gross and you could tell that the "Reno" of this room meant slap some paint on this pig. The pool was really icky I would not step foot in it and cringed when I saw children in it. Seriously you could see gunk on a grate at the bottom of the pool and more gunk around the sides. I am not saying I would not stay here again, but just wondering where they did all the renovations? All staff I encountered were very nice. Speaking Of staff when I left at 5: AM this morning the lady working front desk asked me if I wanted her to call a "TAXI" I being half asleep say yes that would be good. My husband is outside before me and I come out to see our luggage packed into an van. Okay miffed at myself for getting taken but we need to get to the airport luggage was already in the van. Note: Reception gets a kick back from these drivers ......I could have done much better with a "Taxi" or Uber. (Although I did cut a deal with him) don't like playing these games. BWO: Please tell your staff to stop ripping off your customers! Your employee asked if she could call me a "TAXI" not her friend! Reader

We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Plus Oceanside. The free breakfast and great location made this a relaxing place to stay after our cruise. The staff was kind and helpful and the room was clean and well kept. We will stay here next time we visit Fort Lauderdale.

« Best for the price in Fort Lauderdale »

I have stayed in this hotel 5 times. All good. However, this year even better as it is almost totally renovated. Staff are all helpful and knowledgeable. Buffet breakfast is excellent, plenty of choice, first quality food - locally baked pastries, fresh fruit salad, good coffee and a good variety of hot items. Well located for airport/cruise pier and shopping. On trolley line. Nice pool and bar area. Public wifi/computers in foyer.

This hotel is being renovated...much nicer than it was 3 years ago when we stayed here. Great breakfast included in rates. Close to restaurants and shops. Nice lounge, but could use some help with the bar food. Maybe get the food from the kitchen instead of having the bartender prepare it on site while also trying to serve customers.

« Average Even with Upgrade »

Checked in about midnight after $23 taxi ride from airport. Front desk upgraded us to a pool side suite because the booked room was sold out for the night. Or luggage was moved by a bellman/night maintenance man. The large tiles are being replaced abs about a quarter of Th deck is not yet finished. We needed to move pool chaises out of way due to limited space. Wireless keys needed to be held by the lock for several seconds as there in no visible and only a barely audible click sign of release. Air conditioning was adequate but only seemed to flow into front room. Front drapes were in a state of minor disrepair and gapped slightly. Some piece of interior decoration, likelya mirror, seems to be missing in bedroom, 2 wall mounted screws were visible. Spa/bath was a welcome tension reliever, several jets did not work but neck and back jets worked great. Our wake up call never was received.

« Should Be Better After Construction »

We stayed here for three nights before a cruise. The hotel is perfectly located. On the positive side, the rooms were clean (except for the carpets), the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked great and the rooms were quiet. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but there's a shared large balcony outside the rooms overlooking the pool. On the negative side, they were doing construction in the lobby and in the pool area. The lobby was closed and they had a front desk set up in a room by the pool. That's also where they had the breakfast set up. It was pretty inconvenient. The pool wasn't closed, but it wasn't really convenient to use either. What bothered me the most is that we had to use an elevator in the garage to get to our 5th floor room. I had my 8 year old with me and at night, after supper, it didn't feel very safe going into the garage at night to access the elevator. The breakfast was pretty standard, a few hot items and the standard continental fare. They had towels at the pool for guests, which was really nice. The beach is right around the corner, but we had a little trouble finding the entrance because of all the construction at the neighboring hotel. The beach was very nice. The hotel is within a short walk of a great little restaurant in the Bahia Cabana hotel down the block and a high end Mexican restaurant next door (we didn't go to that one). There are additional restaurants about a mile down the beach. You can catch the trolley outside the hotel and get a ride to those restaurants, the Galleria Mall, and other shopping areas. Fun ride and really cheap - $1 per person each ride or $6 unlimited rides for the entire day. Also, if you are looking for something fun to do, check out the Jungle Queen sightseeing tour, also within walking distance of the hotel. All in all, we would stay there again after the lobby and pool construction is done and the lobby is open again.

    5
    « Wonderful »

Even though the hotel is under going a renovation. We still enjoyed are stay. They were able to get the pool open so could enjoy the water. They upgraded us to a better room when we found out about the construction. The AAA site wasn't told about the issue. I would absolutely stay at this place again. Plenty of food to choose from with a mile of the hotel.

    « pretty mediocre »

I too stayed at this hotel while attending a conference at the Marriott. I was aware from other reviews (not from the booking site I used) that the hotel was under construction, but was not aware that the pool would be closed. When I mentioned this to the desk staff, the response was that it was noted on the Best Western site. True, but the information was at the very bottom of the hotel description after pages and pages (on my phone) of small text. Construction noise was AWFUL and fairly constant from early morning and through the day. In what I believe was an unrelated event, the fire alarm was tested the day I arrived and was so loud in the room that it scared me half to death. Most decent hotels warn guests when a test like that will occur. Regarding the location, others seem to like it, but I found it a bit out of the way from the nicer part of Ft. Lauderdale. It's close to the public beach park where the beach was crowded and littered with trash on each of the days I was there. The beaches farther north are much cleaner. On the positive side, most of the staff was pleasant and the breakfast was excellent. I'm sure that if the management comments on this review that they will say "come back and see us after we're done renovating" as they have on other reviews. Sorry, but after this experience I won't be coming back.

« Enjoyed my stay, despite construction »

I stayed at the Best Western Plus Oceanside for a business trip, as I was attending a conference at the Marriott. From a dollars-and-cents standpoint, I think I made a very wise decision. It is a three minute walk from the BW to the Marriott. Tip: From the elevator, exit the garage towards the right (onto Holiday Drive), cross the street, and follow the (marked) walkway to the Marriott. Besides the lower room rate, there is free WiFi, and free breakfast. The hotel is relatively small, so easy to get around. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Check-in/check-out was easy. The room was comfortable, and the WiFi was fast and pretty reliable. The breakfast is served from 7 - 10 AM (I think) with both hot and cold items. No complaints there. My only complaints have to do with the hotel renovation that was happening during my stay. The "lobby" was moved to an office on the first floor (next to the breakfast area). At times it really was inconvenient. Sometimes areas were cordoned off. Sometimes workers were in my way while moving equipment or supplies. It was noisy during the day (not at night, and not too early in the morning). The "bar" was moved to the breakfast area. From mid-day until the evening, you can go to the breakfast area and order a drink (I didn't, though I found the bottles of liquor in the same place as breakfast items from a few hours earlier a bit amusing) or food from a very limited menu. It was so limited, that the one time I ordered, my first selection was unavailable. I don't think the pool was closed, but the renovation activities made it look uninviting, and I never saw anyone in the pool. I don't know if it would have been appropriate for the hotel to notify me about this work beforehand, and I probably wouldn't have changed my plans, but it would have been nice. In light of the above, I cannot give BW Plus Oceanside a 5-star rating, but I of course anticipate this situation will be temporary, and the hotel will be nicer in the long run. I might consider returning here when the work is done, should my wanderings take me back to Ft. Lauderdale. It is my tradition to include a few words for triathletes. The pool is small, and I did not swim in it, but the Ft. Lauderdale Aquatic Center (International Swimming Hall of Fame) is a half-mile from the hotel, is open to the public for a small fee, and includes both 25 yard and 50 meter pools. I've reviewed this separately. The BW Plus Oceanside is convenient for runners to run along a walkway that follows the beach. Just go in front of the hotel, turn right, and (after Dos Caminos) follow the red-brick road. You won't have to cross any traffic (at least for as long as I went). About 2 1/2 miles from the hotel, there is road construction that will turn you back (is EVERYTHING under construction in Ft. Lauderdale these days?), but it is easy to get a 5-miler in. Bottom line, this hotel is small, with a cozy feel, nice staff, and is convenient to the beach, the Marriott (if you are conferencing there), and some other local attractions. If you are deciding about going for a spontaneous getaway, I suggest giving them a some time to sort out their renovation.

Great location near the beach.. Stayed after a cruise.. Breakfast is one of the better ones in a Best Western Hotel. They were under renovations so a big hairy.. Noisy by the pool but room was good and comfortable Nice staff too.

great location with very comfortable rooms we stayed in a lot of best westerns as they offer the best value for money free wi fi and breakfast and you can guarantee you will have a good nights sleep... I would highly recommend coming here once the renovations are done.. The receptionist was v friendly and helpful considering the conditions she was working in and she was pregnant

After our Oasis of the Seas cruise we did not have to rush home for any reason so we stayed four extra nights. We chose this hotel based on location to the beach, breakfast included and price. Their lobby is under construction but except for that and having to walk a bit farther, it was not an issue. Just a few minutes walk to the beach and we did not have to cross a road. The Beach volleyball was happening at the same time and it was entertaining and fun.

« Better when renovations are done... »

We liked the room and balcony, it was very clean and quiet, and in a great location just a few steps from the beach. They serve breakfast (included) and lunch, simple and inexpensive, and they have laundry. Unfortunately, this hotel is under renovation so the front desk is a converted room and you have to walk through the parking garage to get anywhere. There are few restaurants nearby and boat tours across the street but the main boardwalk is 10 minutes walking.

Very nice and clean hotel with a very good complimentary breakfast service. We visited this hotel May 2014 and although the rooms were a bit outdated they were very nice and large rooms and cleaning service was very good as well. The hotel is located only a few steps from the Ft.Lauderdale beach and around the corner you can take the water taxi that tours the waters of the Ft.Lauderdale area as well as Hollywood. We used this hotel mostly to travel trough South Florida with a rented convertible and visited the Everglades, the Florida Keys and Miami. However, we made good use of it's amenities such as the pool and the bar when we were not traveling and there was no hassle with sunbeds in the pool area. A big plus is also the good and cheap parking garage located in the hotel. Overall a very nice experience.

« Best Western Oceanside Inn Hotel (Fort Lauderdale) ? ?Renovations? »

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night following our stay in Miami the previous evening, our stay being the 14th September 2015, we were on our way to Cocoa Beach and fancied checking out Fort Lauderdale. Let me say straight from the start, the staff here are fantastic, the hotel is being renovated, it would seem to be the pool and the balconies mainly, and yes there was some noise, but it wasn't too bad. The main reception is closed and they direct you to a large room at the back of the hotel, which seems to be attached to a store room. I asked how much the parking was, and they said due to the disruption, they would waive the charge. The check-in was fine, and the room was large and well decorated with two Queen Size beds (see picture) we were located on the fourth floor room 414. The bathroom was clean and plenty of flesh towels with a very controllable shower, and the AC was very controllable, no noise could be heard from the other rooms, but I don't think the hotel was full. The ice machine worked well, and the flat screen TV was fine. The Wi-Fi was working well, and tea and coffee making facilities were available for an early morning brew. The hotel price was well below average at £59.00 per night, the breakfast was really good in a room next to the closed pool with lots of choice for both hot and cold food. The hotel is convenient for the beach, and we took a right and walked along the strip at night to watch a thunderstorm, whilst drinking a large cocktail. Just after the marina at the Café Del Mar bar with live entertainment. We did drive into Fort Lauderdale downtown area, and got a pizza, it was pretty posh down there, with big houses with lots of yachts moored at private marinas, out of my retirement price range unfortunately. Getting back to the hotel, I would recommend this hotel as a really good competitively priced hotel in Fort Lauderdale, even though it is in the process of being renovated. Mark and Michaela.

    « WORST HOTEL EVER..... »

I was there from 19th September 2015 to 22nd September 2015. This is the worst hotel I've been in. on the 19th night when i was checking in to my room, i saw a pile of sand just infront of the room. It looked like someone intentionally left it there. And when i informed the front office about it, they said that they will take care of it. But after 3 hours when i was going out i still saw the sand, only this time it was scattered all over the place. I informed the front office again on my way out. When i returned i saw that only infront of my door is vacuumed; and there were still sand....!!!%$$%@^*^*(& The breakfast was horrible; the same thing each and every day. And the worst part - I found out that all the foods were stale on the third day. The muffins, waffle batter...everything....want to hear more - our car was scratched by the renovation people. And they took no responsibility what so ever. In the morning when we go to the parking lot, we couldn't recognize our car. The Blue car turned Yellow. They were doing something and didn't bothered to give a sign not to park cars there. ..IT WAS THE MOST AWFUL HOTEL EVER. DO NOT - DO NOT GO THERE.

In spite of its name, this hotel is not oceanside: it is in the second row of hotels, with no sea view and well below the "Zero mile" marker of the huge Ft. Lauderdale beach. The room was nicely refurbished, but I gave the hotel a low rating because it is a construction site: the lobby is closed entirely and one has to walk through the garage (full of building materials), past the pool, and register in a poolside hotel room. After 8 am loud drilling noise was heard throughout the building. In spite of this, the room cost about $ 160 a day. Free breakfast and WiFi but parking cost another $ 15 a day. The elevator did not work on arrival, and a repairman had to help us call the elevator. There are only two ice machines (on different floors) and one of the two was out of order. The ramp and garage are very tight and could be a problem for SUV's. The garage has two floors, we parked on the upper level, as a tropical storm was approaching, and I feared that the lower garage would get flooded (the storm missed Florida, but the beach was closed anyway due to big waves).

This motel is currently under renovation but fantastic breakfast. The pool was closed during our stay but the place is right on the beach. Work starts at 8a.m. and goes strong until 5. So plan on being gone all day. The staff was wonderful during the total mess going on around them. Construction will last until the end of September. We would go back here in a heart beat.

When we arrived, the elevator was not working, but the company was there in the process of repairing it. Our only complaint was that the parking spaces were very small and we were in a large pickup truck. We had trouble finding a space where it would fit! The location was very good, close enough to the beach and it was in a nice neighborhood. We would stay there again. The lobby was being renovated, so it was sort of a walk to get there, but they had given me a heads up about that situation when I booked the room. Overall a nice experience.
