"Great for a city break"
samanthagG9834UR, 13 Mars 2024

A great little hotel for a short city break. Room although slightly dated was lovely and clean. The bathroom was large with a great shower. The breakfast was good, a continental with lots available to choose from. Only a ten minute walk to the centre of Faro.

"A decent breakfast!"
ChristopherAuckland, 14 Janvier 2024

The day time reception staff are very nice people! The hotel offers a decent breakfast and my room was clean and well equipped. There is a bus stop opposite the hotel but the service is not reliable. Some of the side streets are not very well lit and the pavements are broken and in a poor state of repair. I mention this as it could be unsafe for elderly people and most certainly no good for people with push chairs. For a short stay in Faro this hotel is a good option. For physically fit people one can walk to the city center in about 20 mins.

"Lucky for some"
16jamesdoc, 13 Décembre 2023

Nothing outstanding but it was comfortable. efficient and convenient. The USP was the view of the storks' nest on the church opposite---very lucky, so they say! The hotel doesn't do breakfast but a nearby cafe called the Chelsea do very naughty-but-nice pastries and cakes.

"Highly recommended"
Ivona S, 19 Novembre 2023

The location is close to tourist attractions, restaurants, shopping. Exceptional guest services. Rooms are clean with complimentary coffee/tea and toiletries. 24 hour front desk, complimentary water and free parking.

"U.S. Military Veterans Boycott !!"
Greg M, 06 Novembre 2023

If you are 60% disabled or greater you (and your caregiver) are exempt from paying the Municipal Tourist Tax in Faro. I happen to be a 100% service connected disabled Marine Corps Vietnam veteran. My wife and I were charged 21 Euros Tourist Tax for 7 nights at the Hotel Dom Bernardo. We checked out not knowing this, but discovered this fact after we left the hotel traveling to another town. One week later we returned to Faro staying at another hotel. We went into the Dom Bernardo to ask for our 21 Euros back, at which time they refused. We went to the Faro City Hall where they confirmed that it is illegal to charge the tax for the disabled and phoned the hotel to demand that they return the 21 Euros. Now the Dom Bernardo said they would only return 10.50 Euros since my wife is not disabled. We eventually e-mailed the Best Western customer relations and quoted a EU rule stating that the disabled person and their "care giver" cannot be charged a municipal tax in the European Union. The Dom Bernardo finally relented paying back the entire 21 Euros. All this over a lousy 21 Euros. The sad thing is my wife and I have stayed at the Dom Bernardo not less than 7 times, usually 5-7 days at a time. They lost great return customers. There is a saying, "A United States Marine, your BEST friend or your WORSE enemy !!" The Dom Bernardo just created their worse enemy. I also contacted military organizations like the VFW and American Legion informing them of this experience. If you are an American or a U.S. Veteran, please boycott this hotel

"Perfect for a short stay"
Verano76, 28 Septembre 2023

We stayed here for 2 nights & really couldn't fault it. Rooms were clean & comfortable albeit the view from our room which was at the back of the Hotel was not great . Breakfast was basic but again was perfect for what we wanted. Would stay hers again. Staff were friendly & helpful

"Good hotel walking distance to everything "
X7605DVsteveb, 03 Août 2023

Good place to stay walking distance to Old Town and marina. Very clean but small rooms hotel is old and tired, bathrooms outdated cracked tiles mouldy grout, and many silicon repairs, around top of bath scum residue. kettle, tea, milk in room. Not what I expected of a Best Western Hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly

"Great value "
lindamchugh91, 01 Août 2023

Hotel handy to everything restaurants markets seaside boat trips all walking distance . Staff are very helpful and friendly . Rooms are a good size and clean with kettle tea coffee and all amenities. Great value for money . The staff offer you beach chairs and umbrellas to take on boat trips to beach also . Would stay again

"Faro"
anonymous1234231, 31 Juillet 2023

Good location from Faro old town, the staff were very friendly and helpful with recommendations of where to visit and ordering taxis etc. The room was clean and spacious with tea/coffee making facilities, air conditioning and a TV.

"Super location for exploring Faro "
MrsEAC, 21 Juin 2023

Great couple of nights, good location for exploring Faro. Room clean, comfortable and quiet with good air conditioning. Philip the receptionist was very welcoming when we arrived on a late flight and gave us advice on restaurants and sightseeing. Would definitely recommend

"Good hotel, fantastic hosts"
rachaeldA9126VH, 19 Mai 2023

We stayed here for one night after arriving at Faro airport. The hotel is in a very convenient location, a 10 minute drive from the airport, and 10 minute walk to town and a 15 minute walk to the train station. The facilities are basic, but perfect for a short stay, including breakfast in the downstairs restaurant. The highlight of out stay though was Alexandra, who welcomed us to the hotel, checked us, gave us a map and talked us through some recommendations for sites to see and places to eat for out 24 hour visit. She was so friendly and helpful and made our stay so wonderful!

"Three very enjoyable nights in Faro"
Neil S, 18 Mai 2023

This was a Bestwestern points stay and the hotel provided us with a superb complimentary buffet breakfast each morning. The buffet offered an extensive range of hot food, cheeses, hams, breads, cereals and patisseries. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff who made us feel very welcome. The room was very clean, bed very comfortable and the air conditioning was silent.

"Good Location at a Fair Price !!"
Greg M, 13 Mai 2023

Whenever we visit Faro we stay here. It is close to restaurants, shops and markets. We usually ask for the same room and usually we get it. The staff is friendly and most helpful. They all speak English very well. My wife and I struggle to speak Portuguese, but don't do so well. They try to help us, but it is usually a disaster. We would like to compliment the following staff members who made our stay enjoyable: Rute, Alexandra, Joao, Filipe and Claudia, all at the front desk; and Elena, the wonderful lady who took care of us on the 5th floor.

"Good base"
Terryooo, 25 Mars 2023

Close enough to the harbour train a station and central bars and shops also the main supermercardo quite rooms not too much traffic noise did not try breakfast but reception was manned 24 hours amazing next of storms on the church opposite

"Enjoyable stay"
padprod, 03 Février 2023

Can't really fault this place. Easy enough to access from the old town, the receptionist was friendly (only issue was the lift was out of action for maintenance) the room was fine for my meds (I might stay) you do get noise from outside so request a room around the rear if that's an issue. Breakfast was adequate. Would stay again

"Fawlty Towers moved to Faro"
27Jaspa27, 22 Janvier 2023

I just had my worst experience in a hotel, I've 57 years old and what did happen to me was just a nightmare and I refuse to accept that what did happen is the Best Western Standards I stay one night, 29th December at Best Western Dom Bernardo in Faro, room 209 1 - On the 1st of December I called the hotel to ask about prices as I had a group of 17 family members who needed accommodation, to my astonishment, the receptionist Nuno hung up the phone on me, no wasn't a dead line, he put the phone down on my face. 2 - Cleanliness of the room, the photos speak for themselves, deplorable 3 - I asked for a wake-up call at 6.00 am, my luck was that after some time I found that the phone was not working, this situation could have had extremely serious consequences. 4 - I left a letter to the Director Mrs Rute Martins Sousa mentioning what I reported above to my amazement and after 20 days I still have not received any response from someone who is supposed to be responsible for the hotel unit. Mrs Rute Martins Sousa, keep the money I paid for my stay on the 29th of December in room 209 and use it to retrain your concept of customer service, if you know what that is, unfortunate Hospitality Business is much more than: your room key is here now I want your money

"Very pleasant stay here"
David J, 11 Janvier 2023

I stayed at this hotel for nights and It was a very positive experience. The man at reception was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are extremely clean and have everything you need. My room came equipped with a mini bar which was very useful to have. No negatives about this hotel at all.

"Brilliant"
callum m, 20 Décembre 2022

Staff were class. So happy to help out wherever possible. Clean, modern room. Lobby was a bit dated but great value for money. I don't know the name of any of the staff but one of the ladies gave me a recommendation for the restaurant across the road. Which was very good and one of the men gave me a few very useful recommendations

"Lovely City Hotel"
Aeronaut65, 20 Novembre 2022

Lovely city hotel with easy acess to most things in Faro. Rooms are compact and clean, bed firm, wifi throughout, coffee/tea set, minifridge. Bathroom needs a bit more storage by the sink, and it needs ventilation. Good waterpressure and hot water. Clean towels. Breakfast served with plenty of hot- and cold choices, all fresh and delish. Hotels has a small bar for drinks, coffee and snacks. A small smoking desk outside. I found all staff friendly and helpful and would not hesitate to stay again when in Faro.

"Wonderful place to stay."
Virginia O, 25 Octobre 2022

Such a wonderful Hotel, I have stayed here many times and for many years, I keep coming back as it's everything I need. The welcome from the brilliant reception staff, the spotless rooms, the service, the breakfast choices, I could go on and on. What's great is it's proximity to everything, the old town of Faro, Restaurants, Shopping etc., all within walking distance. A short taxi ride will take you to Forum Algarve Shopping, approx 8euro or the large Shopping Centre Mars approx 20 euro. Also near to the Airport. Taxis can be ordered from Reception. I would advise bringing Shampoo and Conditioner. Every time I return everything seems to be better. Thank you to everyone for making my stay so enjoyable.

"billing issue and sewage smell marred the stay"
stvrrr, 25 Août 2022

Good: -powerful mini-split air conditioning unit -cute little balcony facing a church Bad: -no AC in living room, boiling hot in there -only product offered in shower appears to be hand soap, bring your own shampoo/conditioner -hard bed -toilet smelled like sewage -When I went to check out, they tried to charge me 3 euros for a soft drink billed to my room. I really got the sense the clerk did this on purpose. Really, really odd to try to scheme for 1.70 euros (soft drink should be 1.30 euros per the sign).

"Amazing experience with friends and family"
vanessapr2022, 13 Août 2022

The stay was awesome, the rooms always clean, nice breakfast. Customer service is awesome, all the people very helpful. I came with a 6-year old niece and he staff even help me to accommodate an extra bed for her, making feel very happy. Thanks and keep like this quality.

"Excellent smaller hotel with terrific service ethic"
Stewart K, 25 Juillet 2022

Recently refurbished three star property with a four star level of service. While the rooms are small, they are fully equipped and the bathrooms are sparkingly clean. Great air conditioning and good linen and towels. Good shower but sadly with captive liquid soap. Breakfast is the only meal offered but is extremely good even though there are only two hot dishes for us Northern Europeans. Fresh orange juice (whch is wonderful) is available for a small supplement. Given the fact that there's terrific restuarnt across the road (Gimbres by Oleg), the absnce of full meals provision is not noticed. There's s nice lobby bar.

"Nice hotel and friendly staff"
lorenwebb, 12 Juillet 2022

This is a great base for exploration of Faro. Clean rooms and fresh breakfast with very friendly staff that go out of their way to make your stay excellent. We checked out if our room for our early train to Lisbon. We got yo the station and found out our train was canceled. So we came back to the hotel and they allowed us back into our room until checkout.

"A family run Best Western franchise with a personal touch"
Russell C, 31 Mai 2022

Knowledgeable about Faro and the Algarve region giving great travel tips. Wakeup call, friendly and helpful service. Clean rooms. Free snowballs, excellent wines from the bar. 9 minute walk to the train and bus stations and in within walking distance to the city centre.

"Very convenient"
Vitor A, 03 Mai 2022

In Faro it is a good option; it is a quite central located hotel, it has nice staff and my room was very clean and quite comfortable. Next time in Faro, this hotel will be one of my first choices. Enjoy.

"Nice hotel close to city center and shopping and sightseeing"
Piotr1984, 19 Janvier 2022

Nice hotel close to city center and shopping and sightseeing. Regular hotel in Faro city, acceptable for solo travelers and couples. Some rooms on the highest floor are aleady renovated, on lower floors not yet (stand Nov.2021).

"Wonderful hotel, staff, service, prices, room, location!"
claessonstravel, 09 Janvier 2022

We as an couple stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It is Portugal's only Best Western Hotel. :) They have private parking. An outside seating area(patio) where one can smoke, sit outside and just chill. We were wamly welcomed. We stayed here Christmas eve and day as well. The room was big and clean. We had no balcony but a view of a little local church across the street. The staff felt like family....all of them during these Corona times at a high peak such as Christmas. Alexandria and Daniel and a few more provided us with so much information about Faro and Portugal and the people of Portugal and all the thing we should see. They spoke excellent english. Just ask, they will guide you in the right direction re tips etc. We put up the do not disturb sign and yet they were so willing to make sure we had what we wanted over the holidays. Rooms are cleaned daily. The internet speed too was impressive. Handicap friendly! The location of this hotel was quiet. Not in the middle of the city but close enough. We had originally booked 1 night and ended up booking 2 other nights as we felt comfortable and relaxing. Thank you to you all. Hope you have a Beautiful 2022. We Will be back!!! RECOMMENDED!!!

"Quiet, clean and good value"
MarcusHurley, 15 Novembre 2021

If you want to be right in the action of Faro centre then this isn't the hotel for you. It's about a 10 minute walk to the harbourside and, like a lot of Faro, the area could do with a refresh. For us however it was a great choice - it meant that if we drove somewhere for a day trip we didn't have to drive through most of the town to get on the motorway and we don't mind the 10 minutes walk. There is limited parking behind the hotel, 6 bays I think, but you then have to reverse down the road as it is a dead end so I wouldn't fancy it in a big car! Check in was pleasant, our room was a good size and quiet and had plenty of power sockets for a change! Internet performance was mixed, it was quick but regularly disconnected for 30 seconds or so. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice, staff were friendly, the room was clean and quiet and the price was good.

"Basic but mostly comfortable hotel to stay in Faro for a few nights"
AlbertLosAngeles, 09 Novembre 2021

«+» Reasonable hotel rate. Good location not really far away from the historic center of Faro. Very basic but good in appearance and clean room. They put me on the 2nd floor and the city view from my room was very nice. Comfortable bed. A bathtub big enough to lay down and relax. The hotel is pet friendly, but there is a pet fee per night. «-» The hotel is a little bit outdated (public areas inside and a building outside) and needs to be remodeled. Super tiny and slow elevator, it was easier for me to take the stairs up and down. Limited parking space. My room was not ideally soundproof. Bad and slow Wi-Fi.

"A life saver"
Graham H, 01 Octobre 2021

Stayed at Dom Bernardo for 9 nights in September 21 when my husband was admitted to Faro Public Hospital as an emergency just as we were due to fly home to UK. I cannot praise the staff highly enough from the reception staff to the room maid and breakfast room staff. Each one went above and beyond to help me and my husband once he had been discharged. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable with well stocked tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast is varied and plentiful. Covid precautions are in place. I would highly recommend this hotel and would like to thank everyone concerned for making me feel secure in difficult circumstances.

"Best Western consistency"
katy-lied, 27 Septembre 2021

very good for an overnight stay. Hotel is located in town centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. King room had a long balcony overlooking the church. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was a good size with good water pressure, plenty of towels . Mini fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Nice little patio area at the back of the hotel. My only gripe is that breakfast was not included despite being a BW Rewards member. E7.50 I thought was a little bit expensive for what's effectively a buffet breakfast. Would stay again.

"Good hotel at a fair price"
daviem174, 23 Août 2021

Friendly, helpful check-in. They were busy when I booked sociocultural only get a standard room but I'm pleasantly surprised. Vary clean and has all I want. It's a good size, air conditioning is effective and silent. Bathroom good, bed comfortable

"A bit old and a bit out of the way, awful Wifi, but cheap"
MargaretinParis, 13 Août 2021

I got a bit lost going to the hotel and ended up walking miles after going through the centre of town although it is actually 800 metres and an 11 minute uphill walk from the Rodoviário bus station. I got a good price of €60 through the application on my mobile phone. If I had booked on their website it would have cost €80 and even more on Booking sites. The hotel is above the town centre and there isn't much around it and the hotel itself is dead, there's just a bar in the lobby and a breakfast room. My first impression was that it was old. You have to show your QR code with your Covid vaccinations or a PCR test upon arrival and you will have to show the same anytime you set foot in a bar or a restaurant. You need to wear a mask too but you can remove it in the street if it isn't crowded. I had a room on the 1st floor at the back with a double bed with 2 pillows and a housekeeper brought me some extra ones. It was nice to have a small fridge under the desk. There were tiles on the floor so I was glad I'd brought some slippers with me. There is a bathtub with a shower head in the bathroom, I would have preferred a walk-in shower, I'm not sure many people would actually bother taking a bath. There was a bidet but no individual toiletries, just a soap dispenser and a couple of bars of soap by the washbasin. My only problem with the place apart from the location was that the Wifi was awful even when the helpful man at reception restarted the router. The best location to stay in Faro is actually Eva Senses which is next to the port and all the excursion boats and just a few metres from the bus and train stations. There's also a new 5 star hotel in the town centre called 3HB which is the place to stay if you can afford it.

"The Best"
mareay46, 16 Février 2021

I found the Best Western hotel to give the best value for money and overal stress free experience. It's also located within easy reach of many very handy amenaties. When i return to Faro i will be staying at the Best Western again, there's nothing to compare to it for value for money.....

"Great atay"
Alexclondon95, 04 Février 2021

My friend and I were on a 3 days/2 nights trip to the Algarves and stayed here for ou first night. We had such a great stay, the beds were comfortable, the room was clean, with decent space and it looked nice inside. The staff at the reception were very polite and nice. We both greatly enjoyed our stay!

"Fantastic stay"
Michalit20, 05 Novembre 2020

Great stay. Clean room. Mini fridge was a nice surprise. Wifi ok. Were lucky to het free parking (limited spots). Great care for covid safety. Nice breakfast spread. And mostly, an absolutely lovely and helpful staff that made us feel very welcome.

"A little bit dated but functional"
jojo_globetrotter, 28 Octobre 2020

Great value for money. Very clean and spacious rooms but the hotel a little bit dated. Overall it was a good stay but I wouldn't stay again due to the noise - no fire doors and you can hear everything what is happening outside your door.

"Just gets Better and Better."
VoLeary, 21 Octobre 2020

This Hotel just surprises me each time I stay here.It just keeps improving. I have been coming here for years and from the beginning I was always delighted with my experience. There is so much to recommend this Hotel, my room was perfect and the attention to detail because of the Corona Virus was exceptional. Wonderful shower room, tea and coffee making facilities, big comfy bed and I stayed in a suite which had a balcony. May I add for the price of the accommodation I stayed in, it was incredible value. Of course the staff are so kind, helpful and welcoming, it makes this hotel another reason I keep returning.

"A really pleasant little place"
deeboy, 12 Juillet 2020

The room rate was reasonable and our room was nicer than we expected and was bright, comfortable and modern. The receptionist was lovely and gave us a warm welcome and was happy to give directions and recommendations. Location was good for exploring this small city, and we found it a really interesting town to explore. We're glad we stopped here for a night to explore Faro before heading home to the UK.

"Nice especially at the cost"
carpetgary, 12 Juillet 2020

Very clean , smallish rooms but all you need. Lovely bed English tv channels Reception very helpful. Good location and got parking Travelled to hotel in dark from airport Easy enough with sat nav or google maps

"Very Good Value Hotel"
David C, 27 Février 2020

The location is near enough to the centre to be able to walk to all the restaurants, shops, bus and train station within 15 minutes. We chose it for value and easy to take a taxi from Faro Airport. The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was reasonable and bed comfortable. Breakfast is basic (as expected) but was fresh and cost €7.50 pp. Worth paying extra €1.50 for fresh orange. The restaurant recommendations were fine as there are many places to choose from. Others we got on TA. Our favourites were Chalavar and Sabores Magia. We used Faro as a base and took the train to Tavira. Trains are cheap but not very frequent. For older people take passport as you can get 50% discount. There are lots of buses to other towns too but can be slow. There is a ferry to Deserta Island which cost €10 per person and worth doing. Not so much to see in Faro itself.

"Comfortable and clean!!"
Suibicle, 20 Janvier 2020

Stayed for 3 nights in January 2020 - Tamara provided exceptional service and patiently answered every typical tourist question, which was well appreciated. Room 207 had a huge comfortable king bed, very clean and faced the water so on a clear day, you could see the water and afternoon sun - just beautiful and inviting. The bathroom was large and hot water and shower pressure were both reliable after a long day of touring the town. It is a 10 minute drive from FAO airport and close enough to train station that you could walk if you wanted to. It is located just outside of the tourist old town so you can find truly local pastry shops and restaurants within 2 blocks. I would definitely stay here again.

"What a little find"
BevTem, 16 Janvier 2020

Ten / fifteen minutes from the airport by taxi 12 euros The welcome was sooo friendly and efficient The staff were all brilliant and spoke perfect English. Couldn't do enough for you, you only had to ask. A walk down to the front and restaurants took 5 minutes Brekkie enough for the day eggs sausages muesli cereals fruit etc We loved it and if we return to Faro we will stay here without doubt

"Faro"
Valerie M, 11 Janvier 2020

Perfect stay in faro. Lovely receptionist, when I arrived I got great advice about the town of faro and where to visit. The staff were helpful and friendly. Good trip advice. The room was clean, 5 minutes walk into the centre of town. I'd definitely go back.

"Must stay place in Faro"
seanyterrett, 10 Janvier 2020

This place is a jewel in faro, although when visiting the area dont be put off with the graffiti (and there is a lot) when you get to this hotel you will be more than satisfied the staff are amazing and so helpful even the cleaners say hello with a smile. The place is well decorated with a Portuguese twist, it is clean and welcoming. It is situated about 15 mins walk from marina, train station and centre of old town. We stayed in room 509 and the view of the seafront and the sunsets & rises were incredible..

"Relax"
Gintare S, 21 Décembre 2019

Hotel in city centre. I have great stay a bit louder in evening and morning because near lif and stairs. I have great time. Staff is excellent!!! Few minutes walk from harbour /train and bus station. Recommended who want city stay area save. Hopefully soon usb charges will be in the rooms. Basic 2star Hotel with great staff.!

"Good location at a good value."

"Fun in Far0"

"Family hotel offering 1st class service"
richardandjane2015, 16 Octobre 2019

The staff are extremely helpful recommending fish restaurants and local beaches . They were very friendly and helped us sort out check in problems with our flights. Room was spotless and bed was comfortable. Tea tray and hairdryer provided. Room was on 2nd floor and quiet with pleasant outlook to churchsquare. Ten minutes walk to old town. Easy drop off point for taxi. Breakfast was ok. Small supermarket and patisserie couple of doors away. Local bar 5 minutes away. Wish we were there now

"Decent & Friendly hotel"
Richard W, 12 Octobre 2019

Spent 2 nights here. We caught the local bus from the airport, which terminated at the rail station. We walked from there, about 15 minutes, but you need to have a map, as not obvious. Nice welcome at reception, and room good and breakfast OK. They do not do evening meals but there are other places nearby (see my reviews). Quite close to the centre of Faro. Not a huge in Faro, but we caught a train to visit the charming town of Tavira.

"Comfortable sleep in Faro"
Mandy B, 20 Septembre 2019

This quaint hotel has an amazing atmosphere. Nice rooms and large bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable, best sleep I have had in a long time. Restaurants close by, bakery and convenient store within right down the street.

"Clean, tidy pleasant overnight stay"
Z974DIandrewm, 20 Septembre 2019

A good 3 star hotel. Alexandra at the reception was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable and with good English. Breakfast was modest but good value. Recommended as s good place to stay when passing through Faro.

"Good hotel for short stay "
fasillock, 19 Septembre 2019

Good break fast..parking is available but only 4 spaces but near roads are free. Breakfast was good and staff were really friendly.its not modern hotel kind of old building. Faro is great place to visit and good to have car or bike .

"Very friendly hotel"
LORDPOG, 11 Septembre 2019

My wife and I were flying to Lisbon and my wife became ill, due to a problem at Lisbon airport the flight was diverted to Faro. As we had booked a hotel in Lisbon and now we were in Faro after I left my wife in Faro Hospital I had to find a hotel for myself for the night. I contacted the only hotel I could remember from a previous visit. The receptionist was extremely and found me a room for that night and the following four nights for my wife to rest after she was discharged from the hospital. It's a pity that not all hotel staff are as helpful as at this hotel.

"Innkeeper was exceptional"
Explore29975469729, 11 Septembre 2019

We spent our first night in Portugal at this Best Western. The innkeeper, Jose Luis, is one of the Best! He helped us check in, recommeded a great local restaurant for dinner. And went above and beyond to let us check out early when we realized our tour the next day was over an hour away.

"not the average hotel"
robertmABC123, 08 Septembre 2019

hotel is average. staff not well acquainted with local bus services. on the room safe is a disclaimer saying anything you put in it is at your own risk. not something Ive ever seen in other hotels. had money taken from the safe on our second day. so heed the warning, hotel didn't want to know anything about it. suspect it has happened before, hence the disclaimer.

"Best Western Faro"
cpalumb0, 16 Juillet 2019

Nice clean room with king sized bed, pleasant helpful staff free parking at rear of hotel close to some great local restaurants such as a carocca and chefe branco asked staff for suggestions and they offered these two, great places to eat local front desk staff extremely helpful and pleasant they go out of their way

"Lovely hotel"

A good sized room, cleaned daily. Very helpful staff, offering a 24hr luggage store that was very secure. The staff were very helpful in assisting planning excursions and printing train timetables. The breakfast had lots of variety and there was plenty of it. Our room on the fourth floor was quiet both day and night. A very nice hotel nicely situated to be able to reach all attractions and public transport.

"Pleasant stay, very nice clean room."
plottingmynextmeal, 01 Juillet 2019

Front desk staff were so helpful and friendly. Snug but free parking spot. A very short walk to the central historic district. Bus #16 at nearby station will take you out to the beach for a cool 2.35.

"Good Value"
Adventure63155344588, 22 Juin 2019

Not a bad hotel for the price although car parking can be difficult. Good buffet breakfast and pleasant staff. Rooms clean and tidy and beds quite comfortable.. Car parking problem is really out of control of the hotel but staff knowledge of secure parking in the area would help.

"Comfortable, quiet, clean"
JP C, 11 Juin 2019

Buses being what they are, I arrived well before check-in and the very nice desk clerk locked my luggage in a storage closet so that I could wander around the city. My room was comfortable, clean, quiet, and well-maintained by the staff. The hotel is a short distance beyond the old city, but it was a safe and easy walk to various famous places, such as the Chapel of Bones.

"Nice and friendly "
pauldP527YO, 22 Mai 2019

Stayed here for a lads away.Hotel clean and staff friendly and pleasant. About 10 minutes walk from the harbour area with bars and shops.Free WiFi and bar is open until late if you want it. Safe usage in rooms are a 10euro deposit.

"Great hotel. Rooms clean, nice size"
oesmom, 16 Mai 2019

We stayed one night for early flight next day. Lucky for us we had the view of church with storks nesting on top of steeple. Cool. Bed was very comfortable. Plenty of closets. Large room. Very clean. Modern. I would stay there again. Great location. Easy walk to churches you must visit, centro and marina.

"Great location and really nice staff"
Pavla2013, 11 Mai 2019

Really enjoyed my 3 nights here, clean, great location, 10 minute walk to marina, supermarket near by, Faro is a small town so it was close to the downtown but also close to the road going to a highway. Staff was very nice and helpful, free Wi-Fi, free parking, would definitely come back.

"Noisy night and morning"
Elissa93B, 08 Mai 2019

We choosed this hotel for its convinient position just in the middle of the city. When we arrived the receptionist was very helpful but she assigned us a room just in the corner next to the lift, emergency door and staff entrance. We asked to change it but hotel was fully booked and no twin rooms were left. During the night we heard a lot of dogs barking because they were kept outside and they were very noisy plus our neighbours were chatting raising their voices constantly while drinking. When we complained at reception the lady did nothing because she was alone and without security. During the early morning housekeeping is using the staff door and can be very noisy. The hotel was just good for the position and for the room that was clean but helpfulness staff dealing with some situations during the nights needs to be improved.

"Lovely hotel, friendly staff"
StuartL1500, 16 Avril 2019

The hotel is around a 10 minute stroll to the marina and old town. The staff are all very friendly offering me a map and highlighting points of interest I may want to visit. The room was clean with a decent bathroom and comfortable beds. Only slight downside was the WiFi was fairly poor, and I was only on the first floor. But again I was only staying for 2 nights and I didn't come to Portugal to sit in my room trying to update facebook constantly.

"Always a Very Pleasant Experience !!"
Greg M, 31 Mars 2019

My wife and I always stay at this very nice hotel when we visit Faro, which is quite recently. This time in February we stayed there before and after visiting Dusseldorf, Germany. The room is always comfortable and clean. The bed is comfortable and it is quiet at night. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of hot water and water pressure. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. We think it is a great location, well within walking distance of the Center City and Marina. There are two grocery stores close by and a wonderful bakery only a block away. We would like to especially THANK a staff member at the front desk named Rute who made our two visits in February very enjoyable. M. Greg Miller Millersville, Pennsylvania, USA

"Two days in Faro- Hotel we had previously booked unavailable - replaced by this hotel."
FranceMcD, 23 Mars 2019

The room was clean, very adequate. The quality was very good for the $$ we paid. It was classified as a 3 star hotel. In my view it was a little bit better than a 3 star. The location in Faro was within walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do. Certainly did not need the use of a car. The staff at reception were very informative and friendly.

"Great stay"
Burningbutterfly, 22 Mars 2019

After an early flight from Liverpool arrived around 10:30m on Monday morning. My first impression of the outside decor was it needed improvement but inside was much nicer. We were greeted by a male and female receptionist who were both friendly and although it was too early to check in they let us leave our luggage in a locked cupboard. Before we went to explore the female receptionist also offered us a map and circled key places in te town. The hotel is around a 10 minute walk from the harbour and old town, After exploring and grabbing lunch we returned to check in which was smooth and we were given room 405 which is on the second highest floor. It was very clean and spacious. As others have said we did hear dogs at times but they didn't keep us awake, we slept well each night, we had housekeeping each day which was cleaned to a great standard. Internet was a little slow but as we were on holiday we only used it briefly mainly to check out local restaurants and attractions! There is also the mercado municipal about 5 minutes away which by morning sells fish, bread, cheese, fruit and vegetables which is worth a look around but also has a large supermarket open until the evening which is great for buying bottles of water whilst walking around but also good quality wine as cheap as 1 Euro! All in all I can't fault the stay and at the equivalent to £43 a night brilliant value! I would especially recommend it if like us you just use the hotel to sleep and shower in as it was basic but fulfilled all our needs

"A great Base"
June J, 10 Mars 2019

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and found it clean and comfortable. The hotel is on a main road but we were not bothered by traffic noise. The view from our room on the 4th floor was level with the storks nest on the pretty church opposite. The breakfast was OK and the hotel is within 10 mins easy walk to the marina, shops and restaurants, we even walked to the out of town shopping center in 25 mins. The outstanding point of this hotel was the reception staff who were ever helpful and who were cool in a crisis. Would go back anytime.

"Very nice to a resonable price."
Annegrete34, 06 Mars 2019

We really enjoyed our stay. The room we had is nice and very clean, good bathroom too. Good bed, and no noise through the night.Fridge and coffee making facilitets. Welcoming staff, very helpful. Breakfast was good and fresh. Coffee could be better (maskine) but I choose the cafe and added hot milk. It was okay.

"Great hotel in Faro"
JMH123, 02 Mars 2019

Stayed here for three nights in late Feb 2019 and was very impressed. Free parking available, rooms are very nice with all amenities as required. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Hotel is a short walk from the centre of Faro with plenty of bars and restaurants. Would stay again when next in Faro.

"Mad dogs and an Englishman"
roddy45, 25 Février 2019

I had a room at the back of the hotel and was kept awake by dogs barking throughout the night. The dogs are kept outside nearby properties and are not brought in on a night so when one starts barking, all the others follow. I sympathise with the hotel as its not a problem that can be easily dealt with, and when I spoke to staff, the only solution was to phone the police who would ask the owners to bring the dogs inside The hotel room itself was clean, with a nice comfortable bed, and it was good to have a kettle and a fridge. Reception staff were pleasant, and were happy to print off our boarding tickets, give advice, arrange an early morning call and taxis. Faro itself is only recommended for a one night stay as apart from the marina, it has very little to offer. Many of the properties and shops are daubed in graffitti, and some areas resemble a war zone with many derelict and unsightly buildings.

"Enjoyed our stay but Someone left their dog in the room & went out ..wining & barking for over 2 hours"
jane b, 19 Février 2019

Rute was on the reception when we arrived she was very professional & helpful Made us feel welcome Sadly after travelling ..we were resting late afternoon b4 going to & heard a dog in distress wining & yapping for its owners .... who we were informed had gone out & left it It took a few chats with Felix ...b4 he phoned the owners That said ....it wasn't his fault & he was very apologetic The owners returned & no more problems We had a nice room comfy bed @ a good rate 15 minute walk to restaurants & shops & a lovely city I would recommend this hotel

"Just what we needed - perfect for overnight stop."
Lifebeyond70, 06 Février 2019

We had booked this Hotel for an overnight stop before moving on the following afternoon. It is only 10 mins from the airport (15euros by taxi) and a perfect location for the 15 mins walk to Faro ' old town', which is well worth a visit. The Hotel itself is clean and tidy with very good helpful staff on the reception. We had a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed and enjoyed breakfast (good scrambled egg !) before exploring Faro. We would definitely visit this Hotel again.

"Great budget hotel! "
Fefa-London, 27 Janvier 2019

Stayed at the Best Western Hotel Dom Bernardo for 2 nights for a long weekend break and I am really happy with this hotel. Great reception staff, always happy and helpful. We arrived early and the bedroom wasn't ready but the reception lady made us feel at home and checked us in and said we could use the restroom downstairs and she would keep our luggage so we could go out and come back later. Clean rooms with very comfortable beds, nice hot shower, hair dryer, small fridge, tv, coffee facilities in the room. Breakfast was really good and had everything I'd normally eat. Great location, walking distance to old town, Faro marina and the bus station (10 min) where we took the bus #16 to Faro beach which is about 25 min away, beautiful sunset. I would definitely stay here again and I will be recommending this hotel to friends. This was a lovely and affordable sunshine break and cannot wait to come back :-)

"Perfect for our needs"
sssj8, 24 Janvier 2019

We stayed four nights. The hotel rate was good. We agree with other reviewers that the hotel is dated but it is very clean and the bed was comfortable. There is plenty of hot water. The staff are helpful. It was useful to have the use of the small car park at the rear but it only has space for 7 cars and it can be quite tight to park. However, there is free parking behind the church opposite the hotel. The hotel is well located. It was easy to get in and out of town and was only an easy 5 minute walk to the market and an easy 10 minute walk to the old town. We had breakfast in the pasteleria 100 yards to the right of the hotel as you exit. It was perfectly adequate and we had cofffee and pastries for 2 for about 5 euros. It would have been more comfortable if the bathroom had proper ventilation. The condensation from the shower took a long time to clear. It would have been helpful to have a mirror and seat to do hair and makeup. However, there were 2 full length mirrors in the room. Overall, we would stay again as it was clean, a reasonable rate and conveniently located

"Great hotel"
garngadghirl, 17 Janvier 2019

Lovely hotel with great staff. Very clean and comfy rooms and brilliant breakfast. Not far from the centre of town and the marina with lots of shops and cafes. Enjoyed our stay immensely and will book again if we return.

"Suited our needs"
felicityma, 13 Janvier 2019

We used this hotel as our base for our 4 night stay in Faro. We found the room comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The reception area was smart but in general the rest of the hotel could do with updating. If you have a car there is not much in the way of parking, but it wasn't hard to find a space in the little roads behind the hotel. Although not in a resort area, the old town was not far and a simple walk.

"Perfectly decent choice"
carpe_diem_179, 02 Janvier 2019

We stayed for 5 nights end of December. It's isn't the Ritz and will not win any awards for grandeur or luxury, but is certainly adequate for a few nights stay. Good location - just 10 minutes away from old town. We had a room at the top floor (5th) facing the old town so it was quiet with a good view (and plenty of sunlight). The staff were polite and friendly. It was also excellent value for money for the dates we stayed. The other two hotels we were considering were charging almost twice the rent. My only grouse is that our bathroom wasn't very brightly lit. Brighter lights (and/or shaving lights) would have been very helpful. But other than this, we were satisfied with everything else. Would be happy to go back to it.

"Winter sun getaway "
Andreawop, 20 Décembre 2018

Stayed at this hotel 12th - 15th December a nice short break away before Xmas. Hotel nice and clean but needs updating in places in my opinion ie: decorating and room bathrooms abit old. Staff very friendly and helpful lovely smiles from the girls. Hotel location spot on great for getting to the shops and port. Our room was on the top floor at the back and had a lovely view of the estuary and the boats moured up. Hotel is only 10 mins from airport by taxi which is great gives you more time to get exploring the area and enjoying your hols as how wants to have a long journey to the hotel and wasting holiday time that's what I think. Would stay here again.

"Great location for a great price!!"
NattyJuk, 17 Décembre 2018

We stayed here for 2 nights for a long weekend break to Faro. The hotel really is fantastic value for money, especially as it includes breakfast! We had a twin room, which was basic but had everything we needed. The only slight downside was it was quite noisy as we were overlooking a busy road, and also there was some noise in the corridor of people knocking doors at 6am - obviously this is out of the hotels control, and apart from that we slept well! The hotel is in a good location, everything was in walking distance. Breakfast wasn't anything fancy, but enough to set us up nicely for the day - pastries, bread, meats, cheese, lots of hot/juices to chose from. All in all, for the price we paid we were very pleased!

"Great little hotel "
Heather M, 08 Décembre 2018

Very clean and comfortable hotel in the right place for everything. The staff both in reception and housekeeping are outstanding. There care and attention to detail was second to none. The house wine was very drinkable after a long walk and reasonably priced too

"Excellent value"
Rumps68, 28 Novembre 2018

Hotel is very clean, staff very helpful and one of the most comfortable beds in Portugal! The receptionist even found me a parking space in the tiny car park. She could have said there were no spaces and left it at that, but she went out of her way to find a space. It is small things like that that make a stay memorable.

"Value for money- hands down excellent"
helensuz, 25 Novembre 2018

We stayed here after a trip to Malaga and Seville in Air BnB's. Spent two nights in Faro at this hotel - it was fantastic value for money. Clean rooms, really helpful staff on reception and a really nice homely atmosphere. The room was well equipped with a fridge, hairdryer, shower over bath, huge bed (I had a King Size room although the double looked great too), TV and kettle with coffee, tea etc. For what I paid I cannot fault this place really. Yes- its slightly worn but so is Faro- a lovely town but there is no dressing it up- it is a worn town with not much more to do beyond a two day stay- but the town and the hotel is great- full of character and such a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel is a 5 minute stroll to a pretty large supermarket and a 5 minute walk to the sea front, but make it longer by getting lost and strolling through Faro's streets of mainly laundrette's, opticians, eateries and coffee shops. The hotel breakfast was really nice. Beautiful breads, pastries, fruit, cheese, ham, cereal and a small hot selection of scrambled eggs and sausage, coffee, tea and juice. All in all a great stay with excellent service- they are happy to store your baggage and order a taxi to the airport and could not have been more helpful.

"Nice hotel in Faro"
Cristina Maria P, 02 Novembre 2018

I have stayed at this hotel for one night at the end of October. The location is good, close to he city center and the marina. The rooms are big enough, clean with a large bathroom. The breakfast offers you enough to get you started for the day. A good stay in a wonderful city.

"Dated but good staff and clean"
STRATFORDLIONEL, 29 Octobre 2018

We attended this hotel at the end of Sept. The front staff were very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean but dated and could use an update. We did not take the breakfast deal they have as there are too many other restaurants around to attend. It is central near the old town. When we were there the front door was being worked on as was the sidewalk area which made it confusing at first how to get in. Overall was good for the price we paid.

"3 night city break with 7 friends"
Lynda D, 23 Octobre 2018

We loved everything about this hotel especially the friendly and helpful staff. It was a short ride from Faro airport and a pleasant 15 minute walk down to the old town. Rooms were clean and spacious. Plenty choice for breakfast to start the day. We d thoroughly recommend this hotel.

"Great value."
Paul M, 03 Octobre 2018

Just returned back from a four night stay in Faro at this hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean and have everything you need. Beds were comfortable and the rooms had fridge, safe tea and coffee facilities. Good air conditioning and nice bathroom with powerful shower. All this at a very good price. Five minute walk to town very handy. The housekeeping was done well every day. We didn't have breakfast at hotel so cant comment on this. All of the staff encountered were very friendly and helpful especially Alexandra x

"Central location, great service from Nuno"
Siobhan T, 01 Octobre 2018

My first time staying in a Best Western hotel and I wasn't disappointed. Excellent value for money, great central location and very clean. There are also parking spaces available at the back of the hotel. What made our stay particularly great was the welcoming reception staff. Nuno always greeted us with a smile and was more than happy to help, he really made our stay in Faro that little bit nicer!

"Central location. Great staff"
Mariana P, 28 Septembre 2018

This is a good 3 star hotel. Good location, central, ten minute walk from the marina, bus station (15 from the train station) and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are clean and the tv has plenty of channels to choose from. The ac worked well (it was summer and very hot). Breakfast was fairly basic but good.

"Great place to stay"
Stephen S, 21 Septembre 2018

Very convenient place to stay when in Faro. The room was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Staff were extremely helpful . The hotel was fantastic value for money as was the breakfast. Would have given it 5 stars except there was no on site parking available and the street parking was very busy.

"Nice hotel"
Danielle G, 16 Septembre 2018

We used the hotel as a stopping point before moving on with our holiday. Needs abit of updating but I found the hotel clean and friendly which is all I ask for. It's also about 10 minute walk from the centre of faro where there is lots of lovely bars and pubs.

"Long Weekend break!"
Oliver J E M, 16 Septembre 2018

Had a fantastic stay in this hotel. I want to highlight how friendly and helpfull the staff are. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The Hotel's interior and facilities warrant a 3 star. However i am giving it a 4 star because of how good the staff were. The hotel is in a good location with easy access to the centre of Faro and it's beautiful old town.

"Nice hotel, a little out of town"
aria2012, 03 Septembre 2018

Easy access. Nice room with balcony and ensuite couch/bed room. Not much amenities (no Kleenex, just one shampoo on wall and soap bars), tub jacuzzi but no stand-in shower and no bath mat; super friendly 24/7 reception; small parking in back. Good A/C. Mind balcony door was unlocked when we checked in. Area not best but Ok (walked at 11:00pm) and was really hot in early September. Nice touch: cork screw bottle opener, kettle with instant coffee and tea. Didn't take breakfast there so can't rate.

"Very friendly Staff!!"
Deenabs, 20 Août 2018

Stayed here 2 nights recently.Hotel is small but clean.Close to the main area and the marina. The breakfast was not free but reasonable priced and had decent variety. The staff however was very friendly and helpful.

"Ideal overnight stopover waiting for an early flight"
Lewis_the_Barman, 10 Juillet 2018

We were at the end of our holiday and wanted somewhere that was resonably located and good value for our last night, prior to an early flight out. This hotel is modern clean and secure. This ticked all the boxes for us. The hotel booked a splendid taxis for us, telling us the cost in advance. Cannot comment on anything else as we were merely "birds of passage"

"Well managed hotel"
Robert T, 10 Juillet 2018

Good price, good location, very clean, cannot fault this hotel, perfect hotel for long or short stay, big bathroom and bedroom with all you need in the room.I have stayed in many Best Western Hotels all over the world and this rates as one of the best l have stayed in, also very good security, big supermarket nearby and lots of restaurants and bars nearby.

"Except for the parking, I mostly liked it."
NoneColumbus, 09 Juillet 2018

Except for the parking, I mostly liked it. The hotel was easy to find. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and its size was adequate. The breakfast selection was a bit skimpy, but it was adequate. The free parking, however, consisted of about half a dozen very cramped parking spaces behind the hotel. It would typically take me about ten or fifteen minutes to wiggle into or out of one. One time, the only way I could get out was to end up heading the wrong way onto the one way alley that was the only way out. So, I had to drive out that way, which got me a finger wagging from several of the locals. I always found a space, but I think there are times it fills up and there is nowhere else to park around there that I saw.

"A good hotel if you looking only to rest"
Rigonar, 27 Juin 2018

A small, friendly hotel in a rather old building with 8 free parking spaces. The reception is very small, there are no space for more than 4-5 guests waiting. The room is of adequate size with an equipped bathroom but in need of maintenance and deep cleaning. Breakfast has the minimum needed to get out with the belly comforted. Considering the price you pay, the location and to be used only for sleeping and resting a little bit is a choice to take into account.

"Maravillosa estadia Wonderful Hotel"
444lili, 07 Juin 2018

I stayed with my husband a this hotel. We were very please because the room was very clean and the towels and linen of a very good quality. The staff was very gracious and Mrs Fatima who speaks several languages gave us plenty of information about Faro and answer all of our questions regarding what to do in Faro. We did not have breakfast in the hotel, but just 2 blocks from the hotel is a municipal market where you can find coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants and a supermarket. This municipal market is open everyday. We really love this hotel and we highly recommend it

"Very Good Hotel !!"
Greg M, 30 Avril 2018

My wife and I stayed at this very fine hotel on two occasions. The location is good and the view of the water from our room was grand. The room was clean with tile floors. The bathroom large with plenty of towels, hot water and water pressure. There was a hot pot for hot water in the room. Very important !! The staff were fabulous and friendly including Joana, Fatima and Nuno. My only criticism was the breakfast. It was just O.K., nothing to write home about. Almost no hot items on the breakfast. The hotel is within walking distance of most very fine restaurants, post office and grocery stores. If in Faro stay here. It is well worth the money and has a very friendly staff who will take time to help you. M. Greg Miller Ennis, County Clare

"Wonderful"
JRAberdeen, 18 Avril 2018

Great hotel. Rooms and public areas spotless. Really good continental breakfast. Fab location. But highlight is the staff who are so friendly and helpful. It is like staying with family. You really must give this place a try.

"The best Best Western Hotel"
Cindy-JLo, 16 Avril 2018

We stayed a few nights at this hotel. The room wasn't too big but good enough for two people. We had a room overlook that pretty little church and the 'famous' bird nest - but didn't see the bird during our stay - a little bit of disappointed. The room equipped with everything we need and has a good sized bathroom. There was also a refrigerator in the room which was quite handy. The hotel is not located in the old town but only 10-15 mints of walk. It is a few minutes walk to the a shopping mall which was quite good walk around and test different foods at stalls. It's also close to Igreja do Carmo (church with a room made of bones - interesting to see) We had stayed at a few different Best Western hotel and this one is probably the best one we had stayed. The staff were very friendly and would go extra mile to help you. Faro is a lovely city would like to visit again.

"Excellent Value for Money"
AtivAtivAtiv, 04 Avril 2018

Very good rooms, excellent showers and bed, good breakfast. Very simple reception hall but do not go for looks here. Super comfortable accommodations and very friendly staff. It surprised me. In doubt, the North American chains, do keep up with their good standard reputation! 5 minutes walk from the city center.

"City break"
ilcaulwell93, 30 Mars 2018

We stayed here me and my daughter. The hotel was well located , very clean and the staff were very attentive and the rooms were spotless too. I would definitely stay there again. It might be noisy for some being right on a busy street and it does not have guest parking . The pic is the view from our room .

"Great staff and great location"
Joan R, 28 Mars 2018

My friend and I stayed for two nights as our previous accommodation was unsuitable. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful and gave us lots of great advice regarding places to eat and getting about etc. Great location. Ten minute walk to bus and train stations. 15 minute taxi ride to airport for 12 euros. The room was clean, comfortable and adequately equipped. The breakfast was pleasant. I would definitely return if I was in Faro again.

"Ok, but would not return."
Martez, 25 Mars 2018

Plastic cover on matress. Fairly common nowadays, but not comfortable. (Ibis have breathable covers.) We had a room 1:st floor, facing the street, but no problem with noise. Very simple hotel. Cleaning not 100%. (Snuff on the floor.) For us the location was perfect. 500 meters from old town. The breakfast (served in a windowless cellar-room) was much tastier than it looked. Even good coffee. Only that the artificial sweet drink imitating orange juice, should not be there. In the evening we were told breakfast was included, but in the morning a sullen lady insisted that we should pay.

"Great Value Hotel"
DENISE V, 22 Mars 2018

Our twin room on the 5th floor was clean and comfortable and looked recently refurbished. We had a kettle and fridge. It was very quiet at night. The breakfast is average continental but quite adequate.Reception were polite and helpful. It represents great value and is in a good location for a visit to Faro.I would certainly recommend this hotel.

"great location and value"
olliebar, 13 Mars 2018

we enjoyed our four night stay in this hotel, the staff were excellent, breakfast good, room clean and quiet , a short walk from the old centre of the city but gave us chance to explore and find excellent local restaurants.

"Great central hotel"
aimcdbowman, 11 Mars 2018

Great value hotel Near centre - excellent spot. Quiet location but close to everything Accommodation good - very comfortable beds and lovely new bedding Very friendly helpful staff Breakfast also good - serving till 1030am

"Plesant hotel in the centre of Faro"
Jiri P, 07 Mars 2018

Dom Bernardo is friendly hotel close to all attractions in Faro, The impressive Carmo Church is just steps away and the historic heart of Faro with Se and museums a 10 minute walk. The rooms are of medium size and are equipped with cable TV and reversible AC (Faro can be cold in winter). Breakfast is served in the basement. The selection of cold dishes is adequate and the same every day. There is no restaurant on the premises, but there are restaurants in the neighbourhood. The service is efficient and friendly.

"Very enjoyable"
Leo F, 01 Février 2018

Just back from 4 nights at Best Western. This hotel is very good value for money, the staff were very nice and helpful, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, breakfast not brilliant but sufficient and hotel is in a quiet part of town,a very enjoyable stay will be back!!

"good value for money"
Shahab M, 01 Janvier 2018

Plus: good value for money, not far from the city centre, clean, staff were very friendly and checked us in early as we arrived early Minus: not very noise isolated, noises from the outside can easily be heard inside the rooms.

"Lovely and friendly"
Ruth W, 18 Décembre 2017

Stayed for 3 nights. All staff friendly and welcoming. We were given a lovely room with a double bed and good sized bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Room well equipped and we used the air con heating as it was cool when we visited. Nice to have a kettle and tea and coffee and fridge. TV had lots of English channels. Good value and good location as only a 10-15 minute walk to virtually everything including the bus and train stations. We took the train to Tavira. A beautiful town well worth a visit and only about 35 minutes away. Train fares are cheaper than the bus fares. Overall we thought the hotel made a good base for exploring Faro and beyond.

"Another Great Stay."
VoLeary, 29 Novembre 2017

I keep coming back here as it is so central and welcoming. As I have mentioned before the people working there are so helpful and pleasant. It is a perfect location for walking to the main town of Faro, where there are fantastic restaurants and great shops. The rooms and shower rooms are clean, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, wi-fi is free. Please read the welcome pack as there are lots more facilities available. Reception will order a taxi which is always prompt. Well worth a visit

"Excellent location with free parking! "

Stayed only for a night. Accommodation was more than enough for me and my wife. Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Free parking (limited spaces) on site. Just park once and walk around the historic district of Faro. Definitely would stay again!

"Very Good Hotel Great Location!"
NorfolkSparky, 20 Novembre 2017

Only stayed here one night on our way back from a tour of Southern Portugal, however we loved Faro and wished we had planned to stay here longer! The hotel is situated just a short stroll down into the Old Town and staff were very friendly and helpful. We were even offered breakfast half an hour earlier than the normal opening times, as we had an early flight. Thank you for this! Room was extremely clean, basic but comfortable - great value for money. No grumbles at all, parking available behind the hotel. We will be back for longer for a return visit!

"Fantastic!"
Lesley-Anne A, 11 Novembre 2017

Great hotel with super customer service. The room and bathroom were newly decorated and very clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The hotel was very good value for money. Faro is a quiet town but great for a weekend break. Nice authentic restaurants and bars.

"Nice hotel, clean, and very well located"
JoelLeclair, 22 Octobre 2017

We stayed 2 night in the Dom Bernardo. reception staff is very friendly and helpful. We had room 504 on the last floor with a long balcony with a view on a stork nest (it was unfortunately empty when we were there); as a matter of fact the room is a suite, with a very spacious main room, another room with a small bed and the bathroom, also spacious The room was clean, and it takes about 10 minutes to go to the center of Faro on foot.

"For a 3-star hotel, a very decent option"
VeryCurious_Traveler, 15 Octobre 2017

We had a positive experience at the Best Western Hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted by a front desk staff, who was very friendly and helpful in suggesting to us places to visit and to eat. Also, throughout our stay the staff did their best to be helpful and went above and beyond (ex. heated up our leftover food and provided dishes). There is free parking available at the back of the hotel; there are only 7 spots (first come, first serve), but the staff suggested alternatives in case the parking is full. Our room was clean and we had no issues with anything malfunctioning. As for sleep quality, the bed was comfortable and it was quiet during nighttime. The furniture and amenities are somewhat worn out, but it is a 3-star hotel after all. As Faro is a small city, it takes only about 10 minutes to get to the downtown / old town area and about 10-15 minutes to get to the train station. We would definitely recommend the Best Western Hotel for those looking to stay for a few nights in Faro.

"Nice Clean Hotel good value"
tommi6, 12 Octobre 2017

After reading some of the negative reviews, I would disagree a lot with some peoples expectations, yes its a 3 star hotel, but room was spacious and very clean, the maid service was very good, we stayed for 7 days, reception staff very helpful, we stayed in room 209 at the rear. Yes there are some noisy dogs on yapping but at the end of the day they belong to the locals, We found a lovely little cafe in the next road by the square with Menu of the Day, the owner Carlos was so friendly and we let him choose what we were going to eat !! His peppered steak was great, my husband had pork kebabs with pineapple very tasty, his fish is also brilliant. In short this was a relaxing weeks break to a resort we have never visited before.

"Great value for the money"
Trevor B, 02 Octobre 2017

I booked this hotel because of its value and position on TripAdvisor and I wasn't disappointed. The hotels frontage is a little shabby and could do with a lick of paint, but that is where my only criticism ends. From the moment you walk through the sliding doors you are warmly greeted by the front of desk who could not be more helpful throughout our three nights stay. The whole hotel is very clean from the lobby to the bedrooms, The rooms are very comfortable, with fridge, safe, coffee and tea facilities and were cleaned every day. The location of the hotel is great and very close to the marina with its restaurants and bars. Well worth the price

"Overnight Stay"
Patti M, 26 Septembre 2017

We spent 1 night as we traveled from Malaga to Porto. The hotel is a 5-minute taxi ride from the train station, or a 20 minute walk over cobblestone streets. The hotel is very outdated. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but so outdated. And, the WiFi has a weak signal. At 90 euros it was on the high side given the property. Overall good for a 1 night stay.

"Location and size of room good"
SunsMR, 22 Septembre 2017

We stayed here for 2 nights, it was the first hotel of our bigger trip in Portugal. The furniture in the room was very old fashioned, and needed an update. However, the size of the room is okay and everything we needed was there. We didn't have breakfast, there are enough other good options in the area. Parking at the parking spots of the hotel was a bit of a challenge: the street is very narrow and other people tend to park their car at the beginning and the end of the street so you don't have any space to manoeuvre. Our conclusion : if you're searching for a basic / cheaper hotel it's recommendable, but don't expect too much.

"HOLIDAY 7TH TO 14 SEPTEMBER"
Malcolm K, 17 Septembre 2017

Arrived at hotel Don Bernado on the 7th September for 7 nights. Very clean and well decorated hotel. We stayed in room 201 as a couple very spacious with all mods and cons. Fatima Calos and rest of the team were very helpful supplying local information and very friendly. Could not do much more. HOTEL is approximately 15 to 20 minutes walk into the marina. Many local bars and places to eat. Portuguese people are very warm and friendly. Faro is such a beautiful place to visit especially the old town breathtaking.

"Good standard, not cheap, low wifi, nice staff"
Anastasiya K, 15 Septembre 2017

Nice Best Western standard hotel. Bathroom kit is provided in the room. Breakfast is not bad, though not many choices. Located close to the bus stop, 15 mins to the centre. Internet connection is not working in the room, better at the reception. Not the cheapest accommodation option. Very nice and helpful staff.

"Great location"
J13Piper, 07 Septembre 2017

We enjoyed our two nights at this hotel. The bed & pillows were great, our view of the neighboring church with a stork nest was nice and the air conditioner was necessary. Reception was friendly, breakfast was standard, maybe slightly above? Lots of meat, bread, & cheese. Could have more fruit options. Parking was frustrating. Actually, parking was easy, getting back out was a hassle. The angles make it very difficult to back out and in to the one way road and there was a car parked at the other end of the street. Fortunately we rented a very small car and my friend was able to maneuver it out (16 or turn) without hitting a wall or another vehicle. We tried the second night to utilize street parking but we were unable to find anything near by without restrictions.

"Not too bad, but not the best"
prejan f, 30 Août 2017

We stayed on Aug. 6. No place to park the car at all, unfortunately no parking available anywhere near either, also rooms were smaller than we anticipated, we got a room with two double beds + a crib. Upon check in there was hair in the bathtub and on the floor as well. We didn't mention it because we were never asked how was our stay going. Breakfast was included and was just ok. Main bonus for this hotel is that is within walking distance to a lot of restaurants, cafes and downtown Faro night Live. 10 minutes away from Faro Beach and 5 minutes driving from a huge mall.

"Four day break to Faro"
Alison L, 16 Août 2017

Just returned from a city break to faro. Stayed at Best Western Hotel Dom Bernardo, it was a very comfortable and clean hotel. The rooms were quite spacious and had everything we needed including a hair dryer. There were tea, coffee making facilities which were replenished every day.although the hotel was on a busy road we had no problem sleeping. The staff were very helpful giving us directions to places we wanted to visit. Would also recomend The Chelsea patisserie for coffee and pastries in the morning two coffees and two filled seeded rolls 4.60 euros.

"Good Hotel"
Kyung F, 16 Août 2017

I stayed here for 2 nights on my own they have parking behind the hotel which is limited but free and I was in a room on the top floor on a corner which was great for the sunset views from the bathroom. I didn't eat breakfast but they do continental for eur 6 per day when I called to ask what it is they didn't know and the man on at reception could not tell me. The check in was quick and easy and the lady was lovely and the room was quite big massive cupboards and the bathroom was huge and very clean. The mini fridge in the room was not so great it didn't keep anything cold so I didn't bother. The down sides were the dogs barking all night which is not the hotels fault and if the window is open it's quite noisy again no fault of the hotels it's in a good location and a short walk to the main square area and harbour and the restaurants are plenty there is a local Italian restaurant 300 mts walk called la forchetta and they do great take away and the food is cheap and quick but most of the restaurants in town are also great food and cheap too. Check out is midday which is a bonus too and the wifi was ok after reception restated the routers on the top floor but then it was slow and took ages to load pages the next day. Overall if you have a quick stopover in Faro this is a good place to stay and the price was reasonable.

"faro clube mc 36th concentration"
horse1584, 01 Août 2017

stayed here 17th July till 24th July. stayed in faro many times, dom bernardo best 3 star hotel to date. friendly welcome, lift to all floors, spotless toilet and shower. aircon very good, housekeeping excellent, didn't take breakfast but looked very good. limited parking but lots of places to park close to hotel. managed to park motorcycle outside hotel every night. at the most 10 minutes walk to marina area, train and bus station. by booking this hotel early, saved hundreds of pounds. Most hotels inflate their rates massively for this festival week.

"Overnight stay"
User, 23 Juillet 2017

Clean friendly 3 Star hotel close to Faro Airport. Staff welcoming and helpful. Comfortable bar with good draft beer and house white wine. Rooms were clean and whilst basic comfort able enough. Breakfast was basic and it might be better to pick up breakfast elsewhere.

"Good hotel in centrum"
Anders O, 11 Juillet 2017

Nice little hotel just 10 minutes from the train station. The personnel were friendly and helpful. They had free wifi and the breakfast was included, there were bread, yoghurt, egg, cakes and some fruit. There were a big balcony to the room with view over the city and also a refrigerator in the room.

"Clean, friendly, fit for purpose"
kbes, 09 Juillet 2017

Big, clean room. Made up every day - friendly staff, helpful and kind. Brilliant location, stones throw from some lovely bars and restaurants but quiet overnight. Air conditioning worked well. Basic but for the price - perfect! Thank you!

"Fit for Purpose"
Jane A, 30 Juin 2017

Very clean. Rooms basic, friendly staff but kept awake every night by dogs barking at rear of the hotel on and off all night. I appreciate this is out of the hotels control but this spoilt my stay! Location main road, 10 minute walk to harbour.

"Excellent for the price "
Wayne D, 24 Juin 2017

My wife and I stayed here in June and found the hotel clean and presentable. The staff were very helpful both checking in and out, and were happy for us to use facilities on our departure day. It made our lovely stay in Faro much easier, and I'd recommend the hotel and use it again without hesitation.

"Very nice hotel and super helpful staff"
EireVan, 19 Juin 2017

Stayed there in May for two nights. It was about 10 minutes walk from the centre. Great hotel room with balcony overlooking the storks nesting on the church tower. Clean hotel and super friendly english speaking hotel staff. Breakfast 6 euros and pretty good. Would stay again

"Few days in Faro..."
macduffvilla, 18 Juin 2017

Chose this hotel for our 4 night stay in Faro. It was economical and good value. It looks like it is a bit away from the centre but the city is very small, you can walk from this hotel to the marina in 10 minutes. Breakfast was included in the price and this was continental buffet style, teas and coffee, juices, cereals, cheese, eggs, hams etc, fruit and bread. Very much a see to yourself set up. Room was spacious with huge bed, shower over the bath, tv, air con...all we needed. The reception staff were extremely helpful and spoke good English they also manned the small bar 24 hrs. Wifi in the rooms was very good. Only negative comment I would make is that noise carries within the hotel and this can disturb at times, cleaners, other guests, and dogs.

"Great place except!!!!!!!!!!!"
Lyn P, 17 Juin 2017

My wife already posted a great review of this place just recently as we spent 3 days there. She posted the night before we were about to leave. We enjoyed our stay, staff were very friendly, nice and clean ect. The next morning we got our final packing done and we realised her phone was missing. We know it was in the room only during our stay as it was not working. We reported it as stolen and had to rush to catch a bus. We were assured our complaint would be followed up. My wife has sent two emails with absolutely no reply .This is not good enough. Theft is one thing and we do realise that these things happen. However the fact that they have done nothing and given us no reply is totally unprofessional. My advice don't stay here. You may get something stolen and if you do your on your own!!!!

"Short visit to a quieter place"
Lynnybinny53, 13 Juin 2017

When we first arrived in Faro and wondered aimlessly up the street from the train station looking for our accommodation I thought 'oh no what have we done'. Once we finally found our hotel ( no ,it's not hard to find- we were just disorganised) I gave a sigh of relief. This place is very plain and understated but absolutely lovely. Great friendly service as soon as we walked in from Dina (she loves Brad Pitt). We were early and she went out of her way to give us an early checkin. Room lovely and clean. Breakfast basic but good. Sorry but the coffee would be my only lament ( I'm a serious coffee snob though) hotel was close to old area and the marina- 10 minutes walk. Must visit bone church just a couple minutes walk from hotel. All in all great staff and comfortable place to stay.

"Great location, great staff, great value of money"
Cathrin F, 07 Juin 2017

Headline says it all. Got very nice room, top floor seaside/town view. Beautiful view! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Needed a quite place for a work related skypecall and they offered me to use the conference room for an hour. Breakfast was just what you need for to start your day. Fruit, cereals, eggs, delicious variety of bread, some veggies, cold cut meats, cheeses etc. Very nice lady in breakfast room as well. Location was great! Airport bus took about 15 min from airport to bus station. about 10 min walk to bus/train station, 5 min walk to big supermarket and indoor market. Nice restaurants just around the corner in old town. 10 min walk to marina etc. 10 min walk to gym and football arena. It was clean, refrigerator on the room, safety box, great beds, linnen and nice bathroom. 24h reception and cameras on each floor. Felt safe.

"Visit Faro and stay at DB Hotel"
scottishpiper, 05 Juin 2017

I stayed here for 3 nights with my mother. Firsty, the hotel is a bit dated. Other than that it is excellent. The staff are lovely, the bed linen was pristine, the rooms and hotel were spotless.the breakfast had a good choice for a small hotel and the lady who serves breakfast is lovely and very helpful. When you come out of the front of the hotel and turn left and then take second left it is an 8 to 10 minute walk to the marina, the old town, the bus and rail stations. This part of Faro is lovely and well worth visiting. with plenty of restuarents. You can also get a boat from here to the "desert island" beach. It is only a short boat ride and a few euros. There were other boat rides that were very reasonable. From 10 euros upwards. You can also get the bus, no 16 from the bus station to the a spectacular beach. It is only 25 mins on the bus and well worth it. I think 3 days is enough to see Faro but well worth a visit. The hotel staff are not well paid so it is nice to leave a tip.

"Great for an overnight stay. Fantastic value for money."
Ken C, 29 Mai 2017

Our flight arrived late evening, so we decided to stay overnight in Faro before picking up our hire car and travelling on to the western Algarve next day. We were given a warm, friendly welcome. Our room and bathroom were a good size and, although the furniture was a bit dated, everything was spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable, there was lots of hot water and really good wifi. Next morning a tasty and substantial breakfast (€6 each!!) set us up for our journey. Fantastic value for money. Exactly what we wanted.

"Great for a brief stay in Faro"
LydiaJersey, 20 Mai 2017

This is a nice friendly hotel and good value for money. The rooms have air conditioning and a kettle and fridge so was perfect for our overnight stay before an early flight from Faro. Loved the city (far nicer than Albufeira Old Town) but what a shame there is so much grafitti on the historic buildings everywhere.

"A lovely gem of a hotel"
barboo2017, 08 Mai 2017

A very welcoming place.... the staff were more than helpful, especially Senorita Fatima, Head Receptionist. She was a great help in finding me an extra night's accommodation at the hotel. Thank you very much.

"Not bad for the price"
User, 06 Mai 2017

Well located, walking distance to downtown, friendly staff in the afternoon shift. Just a few parking spaces, so we had to leave the car somewhere else. They do not have much cleaning staff, we had to check in later, because the room was not ready and on another day we came back at 13:00 h from a cycling tour and the room was not done. The excuse was that we have to let them know if we want them to clean our room before the others... first time having this issue in an hotel and I travel a lot.

"Good value for money hotel"
YORKSCLARET09, 28 Avril 2017

Just back from a short break at this hotel. The staff were friendly and professional. My room was ensuite and the maids did a good job keeping it clean. There was a kettle and a fridge in the room also. The breakfast was a good continental type with hard boiled eggs.Location was good,no more than 10 mins and you were by the marina and all the shops. Now for the negatives.More observations than criticisms.A minor one first.I like hot food at breakfast.I think the hotel could offer say bacon, scrambled eggs and sausage as a selection.I dont think that would cause a big problem for them.Just a thought. My second is the dogs barking through the night from the house in the back street.I know the hotel cant really do anything about that.I was there 3 nights and could stand it for that.If I was there longer it would be a problem. All in all a pleasant stay.Would i stay there again, yes.Provided i was in a room on the main road away from the constant barking through the night.

"Not sure what u mean by titlecould b so many things"
Linda S, 20 Avril 2017

Excellent hotel easy to get to easy walk to marina very friendly andhelpful staff spoke good English. enjoyed the whole experience. very clean we had a good view Food good and friut on offer would recommend price excellent snd good value

"Ideal for ealy flights from Faro"
John W, 18 Avril 2017

Needed to stay close to the airport to get an early flight. This hotel is just 5 miles away and suitedus perfectly. Most important is that there was a kettle in the room. Something that continental hotels seem to leave out. Had a lovely meal in the evening next to the harbour just a few minutes walk away.

"Great for the price"
Phil G, 08 Avril 2017

You get what you pay for, which is perfectly good in this instance. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, helped us out the first night when we realised we'd forgotten to pack toothpaste! Always available to get stuff from behind the bar like bottles of water if needed, and check-in/out was painless. We arrived well before the 1400 check-in time, and while the room wasn't ready they immediately showed us where we could drop bags. When we came back we were still a little bit early but the room was ready for us which was great. The room was nice, could see the sea from where we were over the city. Nice big space with a comfy bed, tv, desk, huge wardrobe, chair etc... Air Con also working which was good for the warm nights. Bathroom was massive and perfectly good (hairdryer for the missus). Shower head struggled to stay perfectly upright for long but worse things have happened. The WiFi dropped a couple of times but it was probably just karma for not being out in the sun enjoying ourselves. All in all a very comfortable stay. The breakfast included was an all you can eat continental buffet, everything you'd need to fill yourself up until lunch. Also available between 0730 and 1030 so no need to set an alarm and worry about missing it which is good! Good location about a 5-10 minute walk from the marina, with plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants on the way in. Great value and would happily stay again!

"Dom Bernado"
art3112, 06 Avril 2017

Contrary to several negative views on this site I found the hotel to be clean, the rooms were serviced every day, the bed was a tad on the firm side but nevertheless I slept fairly well. There was not too much noise, apart from a local dog which barked for 10 mins every night at 6 !! I thought the hotel was well situated but as I need a walking stick perhaps it was a little too far out - all in all a good experience

"February Visit, Brilliant !"
William D, 01 Avril 2017

A great hotel with very friendly staff.very convenient and close to the Harbour and Old Town. Great Wifi and bathroom.....My balcony looked out towards the Church with the Storks!! Nice busy City location with minimal noise for area. Loved It..! Would book it again in a heartbeat ! Best wishes. William

"‘Excellent hotel'"
BensonDorset, 26 Mars 2017

This is a lovely friendly small hotel of the highest standards. It is about 10 minutes walk from the rail station, marina and old town, although the route needs studying carefully because of the randomness of street directions. The rooms are very comfortable and clean with a reasonable selection of English speaking TV channels, free wi-fi and drink making facilities. The upper floors have wonderful views of the estuary. On floor 5, you are at the level of the stork nest on the church roof across the road – a real bonus so take advantage of the view of the nest. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a continental buffet, very well represented and more than adequate. The reception area is relaxing with a bar for guests. Thoroughly recommended. I would stay here again without hesitation; as we have done already.

"An Economical Surprise"
TOG11, 22 Mars 2017

We went to the Best Western because of its location and favorable reviews. We are very happy that we did. The hotel is located within an easy walk to the marina, old town, or the local mercado. Though not new the hotel has character and is clean and well-maintained. The breakfast included a variety of meats, cheeses, breads, and fruits. Our room on the 5th floor was more of a suite than a room. Parking is free and tight and I had a bit of trouble with the internet. The hotel employees were very helpful.

"Friendly and handy"
newinncottage, 20 Novembre 2016

A nice little hotel - part of the larger Best Western group - well placed for getting around Faro. It is available at a good price and enjoys quite good facilities. The breakfasts were particularly pleasant.

"Decent place to stay"
Jared F, 06 Novembre 2016

Nothing exceptional about the hotel but.... conveniently located to old town, friendly staff, good and affordable Portuguese food within easy walking distance. The hotel only has 7 parking spots and you better have rented mini!!! There was free parking very close to the hotel but I would imagine it would be tough to find a spot during peak season. Great place, I would stay again.

"Even better value"
VoLeary, 03 Novembre 2016

It is one year since I stayed here, then I said it was great value for what was on offer. Now I say it is even better. The wonderful staff are so helpful and pleasant. The rooms have tea or coffee making facilities and the bedrooms are very clean. The bed was so comfortable, it was one of the best nights sleep I had in a hotel. The bathroom had fresh white towels and soaps. Of course the breakfast was perfect as everything from assorted breads, cheeses, cereals, teas, coffees, meats, fruits etc. were plentiful. Again the lady looking after the breakfast room made sure everything was replenished and the tables clean and again extremely pleasant. It goes to prove you don't have to spend a fortune to get everything a hotel should be.

"Ok?"
Shona B, 22 Octobre 2016

Stayed here for one night due to missing our flight. got there late so no resturants or shops were open - went to our room hungry and tired. once we got to our room, we were kept up all night by a gentleman who had hired a lady friend. went upstairs to complain where we were greeted by the whole floor 3 stinking of cannabis. luckily only stayed for 1 night. after falling asleep just gone 3 we were woken by noisy cleaners and building work. if you want no sleep I highly recommend this hotel. good points - there was a bed, a TV and a working bathroom.

"Immaculately clean, friendly and helpful"
DrewHGT, 21 Octobre 2016

The property is an 8 minute walk from the marina. It isn't flash but certainly gives good value for money. The staff are wonderful and at reception speak excellent English. There is not a speck of dust anywhere. a credit to housekeeping. The mattresses were all replaced in October 2016 and i slept well, the air conditioning works well, bathroom has plenty of hot water. tea & coffee in the bedrooms, Irons available. I highly recommend this property for a short break. It also has a car park at the back and a taxi to the airport was 11 Euros

"Good value inconvenient location"
TONY H, 16 Octobre 2016

Decided to stay in Faro for one night due to a late flight time. Easy to find in hire car.Parking behind the hotel.Fatima on reception was very welcoming and helpful.Managed to get out for late dinner to Chef Branco nearby. Basis clean room with good a/c. WI Fi didnt reach our room on top floor but ok in reception area. Adequate breakfast with plenty of choice. Spent the morning exploring Faro on foot before setting off west.

"Convenient but lacking"
Merseyprincess, 28 Septembre 2016

I stayed for one night as I had an early flight the next morning. The receptionist was really welcoming and helpful when I arrived - I think he was embarrassed later when he realised there was no wine in the bar, only beer! Also, more than one person was needed on reception for size of hotel. It's about 15 mins walk from train station and 10 mins walk into old town. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Kettle with tea/coffee in room. I had a large bathroom, however, there was a lot of noise from other bathrooms & the hall to contend with - possibly due to ceramic tiling. Good value for high season.

"Surprisingly good"
Dave0xford, 26 Septembre 2016

A business partner and I shared a room in January 2016, booked online for a very reasonable price. The room was spacious and there was an en suite bathroom, with bath, sink, shower, bidet, and toilet. There was a fridge in the room, and a TV (which we did not use, so cannot assess). Two large built-in wardrobes and a dresser provided plenty of storage. Towels were changed daily. The room was so reasonably priced that I expected the breakfast to be basic, but there was a full range of food to choose from, ad lib, including cold ham, cheese, boiled eggs, cereals, fruit, several types of bread, a toaster, and two drinks machines serving very acceptable coffee and other beverages as well as a range of cold drinks. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the staff spoke English and were helpful (e.g. when we lost a door key) and friendly. The trip from the airport into Faro by bus costs 2.22 Euros and takes about 15 minutes. The Dom Bernardo is a further 15 minutes walk away, to the North of the main tourist area. Faro is quite small, and nowhere is more than 20 minutes walk away. We were at the front of the building, on the top floor, above the main street. Occasionally an un-silenced motor scooter would pass by, but generally, the noise levels were acceptable. Our view was to the north, where a Russian Orthodox Church had a couple of storks nesting on top of the cupola, about thirty metres away. There is a main covered food market about two hundreds metres up the road. Our business was at the University, about 15 minutes north of the hotel. Other delegates at the same event expressed some surprise when we told them how much we had paid at the Dom Bernardo, so it seems to be something of a bargain, at least in the off-season. There is really nothing bad to say about this hotel. It is a bit farther out than many of the other hotels, but if you are prepared to walk for ten or twenty minutes, most of Faro is accessible from there. If you walk down the stairs instead of taking the lift, and the windows are open, you could, if you were really clumsy, bash your head on one of the inward opening windows. So, if you are clumsy, take the lift, or choose another hotel. Otherwise, this is a clean basic hotel that provides a very good breakfast. A bargain.

"Large Room, Good Breakfast"
lindanb, 20 Septembre 2016

This hotel is located about 7-10 minute walk from the concentrated tourist area. The staff were great and spoke good English. The room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was good except for the juice which was warm and tasted like acidic syrup. On my last day there I noticed a sign on the bar as one enters the breakfast room. For €1 the lady will give you a large glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. I thought it was well worth it.

"Decent 3* Hotel, Great Service and Location - Everything you need in Faro"
flowersarenice, 19 Septembre 2016

About to book the Hotel Monaco not far from Dom Bernado I read reviews on trip advisor that generally were not very good so opted for the later. The Hotel is in a good state and condition contrary to some comments here. The property is well maintained, has a comfortable lounge foyer, a snack bar to access drinks. The rooms are a good size compatible with the interior and architecture of locality, tiled floors, robust furniture, mini fridge to store groceries. The interior is well presented in the room and the tea and coffee amenities show distinctly a good class of hotel. The best thing about the hotel is location. A circular bus can pick you or drop you from in front of the hotel. The number 14 bus will en route from the bus station stop directly in front of the hotel to head to Faro Beach via the airport and vice verse. The fares are 2.20 each way. Staff are friendly, warm and informative. This is a franchise but a well staffed hotel whose staff make the stay personable and memorable. I will come back again.

"A night's stay"
Kazren84, 09 Septembre 2016

We stayed at the Best Western for one night. Hotel was pleasant and we had a pretty decent night's sleep despite being on the front of the hotel. Plenty of hot water and bed comfortable. Staff helpful. Hotel is about a ten minute walk to the station without luggage. We had to pay €6 each for breakfast the next day which was satisfactory.

"Excellent value and really genuine helpful staff"
jozoe, 06 Septembre 2016

I stayed here with my mother for two nights. It was good value and although the rooms are not very modern the bedding , air con and cleanliness was good. What impressed us overall was how helpful the staff members were. I would like to say a special Thankyou to the lady on reception who organised our taxi, sorted out the hotel computer for me, and also loaned me a travel adapter so I could do my mums hair. Many thanks x

"Inexpensive, no complaints"
Brianmoynihan, 29 Août 2016

The hotel was very cheap, 5 mins walk from the bus and train station, there's loads of restaurants nearby including a great one across the road. The breakfast was decent, a buffet with great bread, cheeses, meats, hot drinks and juices, fruit, cereals and more. The room was relatively spacious and clean, a good shower and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

"Good, not amazing"
limitl3ss, 22 Août 2016

We stayed for 6 nights. The location is good, not too far from the airport, 8-10 min walking distance to the city centre. The rooms were tidy, but definitely not reflecting the price (£85/night). I wonder how it qualifies for 3 star. It look very old fashioned, minimalistic and the mattress was too hard for my liking. The biggest let down was the breakfast. Jam, toast, coffee, ham and some very unripe tomatoes. Every day. The worst breakfast variety I have ever seen. We ordered fresh orange juice, but we received some watered up junk with orange bits in.... You definitely can't call that fresh orange juice, and charge extra for it. The staff was very friendly. The lady at the reception was super helpful and nice.

"A very good compromise"
Viktoria L, 21 Août 2016

We wanted to stay in an ecomomic place in Faro and drive around the Algarve. For us this was a perfect choice! The hotel is in the center of the city, only a few minutes walk from the restaurants and night area. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean! No luxury, just for sleep&shower!

"Can't believe it's only 3*"
Emma R, 18 Août 2016

We booked this holiday for 3 nights at the start of our holiday and were seriously impressed. We arrived a little before check in but after checking with the housekeeper our room was ready so we were given the key. Along with the key we were given a map and some information about Faro from Dina in reception. She was very helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and very clean, they definitely have high standards. We had breakfast on one of the days which was nice enough. The wifi was handy to get in touch with people back home, fast enough for video calling too. We were so impressed that we booked another night near the end of our holiday, this time a slightly more expensive room that had a jacuzzi much to my surprise! We have been so pleased with our experience here we will definitely book again when we are in Faro!

"Value for money"
GlobeBerryHill, 14 Août 2016

Cheap hotel but clean and tidy. Breakfast fine, reasonable selection. Parking very limited, but on-street parking fine. Fatima the receptionist was excellent, very helpful indeed. Would stay again (and have done so).

"Pleasant stay"
Stockywalters, 11 Août 2016

Only stayed one night but the hotel was beautifully clean. Conveniently situated for the market and it was a pleasant walk down to the marina. The staff couldn't do enough for you - car park however is difficult to get out of -reverse into the parking space would be my recommendation.

"Nice"
sunshinebeliever, 11 Août 2016

Nice hotel. Good room with good air con and nice spacious bathroom .friendly staff. Nice layout in the main lobby. Quite small as many hotels are in faro centre. Location very good. Easy walk to bus terminal to get bus to nearby beach and bus to airport. Easy walk to marina area also. Breakfast good and plentiful, room was large so spacious in the morning which is nice. Very enjoyable. Will return.

"First stay in Faro"
K1209VJtonyp, 09 Août 2016

We found the hotel very clean and comfortable, and ideally situated to explore the town and surrounding areas. Staff always polite and helpful, we were never rushed to make any decision or choices, good selection of food and drinks for breakfast ,

"Great hotel!"
Globetrotters478, 08 Août 2016

We stayed here for 4 nights in the room with disabled access, which we only sorted on the morning of our arrival! This is a lovely, budget, hotel with air con, free wifi, 10 minutes from Faro airport, and the most friendly staff. Anything we asked of them, they helped with - restaurants, places of interest, local knowledge and patience to clean the room when we overslept on the first day! The roof terrace is great, with amazing views over the town and out to sea. The internal bar prices and snacks are reasonable too, if you've had a long day and just want to chill later in the evening. There's a huge TV in the bar area too. It was our first visit to Portugal and would specifically stay here again as it was so handy for everything, including the town centre, restaurants, boat trips and a large supermarket. Parking is very limited, but this wasn't a problem as we didn't have a car.

"Good hotel in convenient location"
ceciliali45, 26 Juillet 2016

The Dom Bernardo is in a perfect location for visiting Faro. It's a short walk to the town centre and there are a few restaurants nearby. (We arrived late when most restaurants were closed but we managed to find something open nearby after asking the reception for information). Staff were friendly and the breakfast was varied and very good. Our room was large and comfortable. Parking is available although there are not many spaces so we just parked in the street. Free Wi-Fi in the room was very welcome.

"Friendly staff"
vapelle19, 21 Juillet 2016

The staff at reception very friendly. Free parking in the streets near the hotel. No early check-in. You get what you pay for. Good wifi in the room and also near the reception. I liked my stay here .

"Plane spotting"
LORDPOG, 20 Juillet 2016

A very nice hotel to stay, with helpful friendly staff, our room was on the top floor so we could see all the planes taking off and landing. A good size room with twin beds and very clean. . The hotel is a short walk to the old town

"Good value hotel in Faro"
776geertd, 18 Juillet 2016

Nice simple and clean hotel room with modern bathroom facilities, 10 mins walk to the old Faro and marina. Staff very helpful in organising tours and other requests. Excellent buffet breakfast. Mattresses were a bit hard.

"Good value and easy access to the centre."
Sessionsinger, 12 Juillet 2016

As small, friendly hotel within easy walking distance of the centre of Faro. Breakfast never varied, but was always more than adequate with cereals, hot drinks, juices, cheeses and cold meats and boiled eggs. Plenty of fresh rolls and bread for toast accompanied by conserves, as well as fresh fruit and cake. The rooms are small, but perfectly adequate and very clean with comfortable beds. We had a room at the front, overlooking a church with a storks nest on the dome. The main road was pretty quiet at night, apart from when Portugal won the semi final of the European Cup!! The staff are very friendly and helpful with suggestions of what to see and where to go in the area. Most of the sights in Faro can be seen in a day, and if time allows, a day trip by train to Tavira is highly recommended.

"faro for less"
billyburp, 07 Juin 2016

This hotel is excellent value for money ,it is a lot smaller than other hotels in the same chain (more like a family run hotel) but the room ,staff and location are great .The hotel is about ten to fifteen minutes walk from the rail and bus stations and about the same to the centre of the old town, around the corner and down the street brings you to a small square with lots of eating houses for all budgets.Faro is not a large town and is easily walkable ,it seems most people only know the airport but the town is well worth a visit, forgot to mention tea making facility in all rooms ,next time in Faro this is the hotel for us.

"Needs renovation, but price/quality OK."
liesenluc, 06 Juin 2016

It is an older hotel and some renovation would be good, but we liked it. We found the location excellent, away from the touristic area, but near to all you need. At walking distance from train and busstation. Market, supermarket and resto's nearby, and a 10 minutes walk to the old city.To go from the hotel to the airport, there is a local bus nr 14, that stops in front of the hotel. You just have to cross the street to the busstop. This bus runs not frekwent, a 6 times a day or so, but if it match with your departure time, it is an easy and cheap option (2,22 euro). At the reception you can find the timetable. Friendly check in, basic but clean room with all you need, fridge, waterboiler, coffee and tea for free, free wifi...At the top of the hotel is a terrace with some sunbeds. You have a nice view there over the old city and the Ria Formosa. It is just a pity that the terrace is not well maintained. It has a lot of potential. Put some more sunbeds, some new tables and chairs and parasols and some flowers on it, and it would be the max. Breakfastbuffet is good for a 3 stars hotel, with boiled eggs, yoghourt, fresh fruit, cheeses, different cold cuts and more. For the price we payed, we were happy with our stay and we should choose the hotel again for a next holiday.

"Cheap and Central in Faro"
Kay Y, 04 Juin 2016

The front desk here are great, they are very helpful and courteous. The hotel is a quick <10 min ride from the airport by taxi. It is older and not updated, but the room was clean, spacious, and had everything you need, including a mini fridge. The room had a nice view of the Ria Formosa. Good value for the low price!

"Good value"
SUE R, 03 Juin 2016

Great value for money at this hotel. The room was clean, good size and had a view over the roof tops of Faro. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was plenty on offer for breakfast. Decor was a little dated.

"Great value hotel within walking distance of old town."
TheDukeCalifornia, 30 Mai 2016

Arrived without reservations but that was not a problem. Room was basic but roomy. Free parking, wifi and the staff is super helpful. They have a bar and breakfast was very good. Free parking. The prices were some of the best for my entire trip.

"Great value hotel with 5-star receptionist"
Jackie D, 20 Mai 2016

An extremely good value hotel, 10 minutes walk from the city. Fatima the receptionist was excellent, extremely helpful and knowledgeable - I feel she deserves a special mention. The room (401) was clean and pleasant and the breakfast quite basic but perfectly acceptable, but a bit of variation in the food would be welcome. Two things need addressing - the bed was rather hard and lumpy and the shower was simply the worst I've ever experienced. I found it impossible to regulate it so that was either a cold dribble or a scalding torrent - it really needs sorting out as it was quite dangerous. I certainly wouldn't risked using the bidet!! All in all, a pleasant basic hotel at an excellent price with really helpful, pleasant staff.

"Great Value in Faro"
jihuff, 19 Mai 2016

We enjoyed our stay in the Best Western in Faro, Portugal. The hotel and room were nice and spacious. Across the street from the hotel is a church. A pair of storks have made one of the steeples their home. It was lots of fun watching the pair of birds coming and going to their nest. The staff recommended a restaurant that turned out to be one of our best meals in Portugal. We would definitely stay at this Best Western again.

"Good Basic Hotel for Visiting the Eastern Algarve"
JenMarkCo, 12 Mai 2016

Not knowing Faro at all, we found and booked this hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews. Generally the reviews are accurate and the hotel met our expectations for a three star hotel. Good clean hotel with comfortable beds and a functional bathroom... meaning that everything worked as expected. Hotel is on the outskirts and north of the main shopping, commercial and tourists areas of Faro with about a 1km / 20 minute walk or €5 taxi ride to these areas. There are many good restaurants in the immediate area and between the hotel and the waterfront / central area of the town. If you are walking between the hotel and waterfront / central area, make sure you know where you are going or have a GPS device with you as central Faro is a maze of narrow one-way streets. We got lost every time we made the trip! Receptionist spoke moderate English and was helpful. She subsequently booked us a cork factory tour even though the tour company we wanted was not on the hotel's recommended / preferred booking list. After arriving on an overnight flight from Canada in the early morning (yes, Air Transat has direct flights from Toronto to Faro!), we were able to leave our luggage in a secure closet while we explored the city till late afternoon. Checkin was fast and efficient. Our room was moderately sized with twin beds as booked. Our booking included cold self-serve continental breakfast. This was comprehensive and nourishing in a pleasant basement dining area. If you are flying into Faro and going to the Algarve, we can recommend a short stay in Faro to see the real non-touristy (almost) eastern Algarve. Day trips by train, bus or organized tours to Tavira and Olhao are easily done and the central area of Faro is both historic and appealing. Another worthwhile trip from Faro is to the barrier islands national park by boat from Faro harbour with an included visit to the roadless offshore fishing villages of Ilha da Culatra and Ilha do Farol.

"BW average "
AlfredoTrips, 11 Mai 2016

Fast checkin, oldfashion hotel, a lot showing its age. Very nice staff, room show some refurbushing but parts are very used. Mix old, beds and furniture, with new, lcd tv and contactless keycard. Beds are only good for those weighting more than 90kg, by far one of the hardest bed on any of the hotels i stayed. Its not on the tourist area, its around 15min walk to the harbour and bus/train station. Breakfast is okay for a 2star hotel like Ibis, but not a 3star one

"A great hotel if you're deaf and love dogs"
dunworkin69, 05 Mai 2016

I was aware that I was booking into a 3* hotel so my expectations weren't that high. The room we were designated was high up at the rear of the hotel. Great, we thought, not overlooking the main road at the front, this is going to be OK. Was I wrong? We could hear the people in the adjacent rooms crystal clear, they may as well have been in the room with us. The corridors were tiled so we were constantly disturbed by the comings and goings of people at all hours of the night. Not that the following is anything that can be controlled by the hotel but the neighbours at the rear all seem to have dogs which barked randomly at all hours of the day and night. The room was basic but functional but the bed was very creaky and the mattress was rock hard. Not good to sleep on when you're constantly being disturbed by noise. The bathroom looked great but don't let first impressions fool you. I did notice that the wall tiles weren't shiny so I thought I'd carry out a little experiment. Using a small white towel I washed an area of 6 tiles. The white towel turned brown, the tiles were that filthy. Feeling bad about this I did this again a couple of days later on another area of tiles with exactly the same results. In a nutshell the bathroom was filthy and needed a deep clean. We stayed on a B&B basis and found what was provided for breakfast was adequate. The best thing about the hotel were the staff. They were very helpful and tried their best. The position of the hotel is reasonable, a 10 minute stroll from the old town and commercial centre. One tip I'd give people who stay here is that if you need anything, bottled water etc., is to go to the "market". This is actually a rather nice supermarket along with fresh fruit, meat stalls etc.. Only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Would I stay there again? Definitely not. I don't say this solely because the hotel was below par but Faro is very small and I won't be visiting the town again.

"Very average"
daysky, 28 Avril 2016

There's not a whole lot that stands out about this hotel. It is within walking distance to Old Town, and it is relatively clean; however, it is rather rundown and could use some updating. The toilet would LOUDLY whistled for a good 3 or 4 minutes every time we flushed, the internet was very unstable, and the beds were not very comfortable.

"A adorable bargain"
SalustianoJurandi, 26 Avril 2016

I lived in Faro for 5 years so when I go there, I want to be near the city centre but away from the noise. The location of this hotel is perfect. You can walk to the city centre and by car is easy to move from and there, traffic can be daunting in a small city during rush hour and we don't want that to get in the way of our holidays. There is also free parking. The hotel also has a full bar open 24hours ready for your last drink and unwind before going to sleep.

"Better than expected"
Irina Z, 09 Avril 2016

This hotel was better than we expected. Basic but clean, rooms were cleaned every day, fresh towels been provided . Good location. Hotel has all you might need - breakfast, free parking, free wifi, 24 hours reception and friendly, helpful staff.

"Great convenient hotel"
Bob241205, 02 Avril 2016

Stayed here with a friend on a short city break. The hotel is very good for the price and is within walking distance to the Old Town, the Port and the Forum Shopping complex. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Fatima.

"Good hotel"
Jay 1, 01 Avril 2016

I liked the hotel, better than I expected, nothing much else to say, the bathrooms and toilet were clean and there would be people cleaning the room daily, internet is fast and good too. It also isnt too far from the beach area, only a 10 min walk and a 20 min walk to the Forum Algarve, worth a stay

"Central local...normal American expectations"
DennisFisher7, 25 Mars 2016

This is a good downtown hotel to stay in Faro. We were on our way to Gibraltar, GB the next day. Good value. I would recommend not getting a room on the back side of the hotel. It was a little noisy outside.

"Worth staying"
dodge011, 15 Mars 2016

This hotel was very cheap so we did not expect much. The rooms have been re done but not to a high standard but the are big and so was the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed before flying the next morning and the hotel booked a taxi which arrived on time.

"Great value for cost"
Gerry R, 01 Mars 2016

If travelling through Faro would recommend this establishment as it is central, well maintained and the staff were courteous and helpful. They have a bar/lounge area where you can relax and talk to other guests. Felt this was an excellent choice for our purposes of an overnight stay to catch a flight the next morning which was only 10 minutes from the airport by shuttle service. Gerry R.

"Unexceptable Experience"
Amanda D, 13 Février 2016

The first room we checked into was horrible. There was mold along the walls as well as a horrible smell coming within the room. My boyfriend and I changed rooms and found stains in the sheets as well as the mattress. As a result of the the second room, we went to the front desk and informed the receptionist that we had to leave. The individual working the front desk seemed very 'shocked' and asked us if we wanted another room. We left the Best Western Hotel Dom Bernando immediately. Although the staff was very apologetic, the conditions were not acceptable for my boyfriend and I.

"Value for money"
Chris L, 10 Février 2016

Decent room, clean and quiet. Smoking rooms available too which was an unexpected bonus!! Parking very hit and miss - more miss than hit. Short walk to Faro bars and restaurants. 10 minutes from airport. Friendly staff and good breakfast.

"Bad start but got better"
isaidc, 02 Février 2016

First night wasn't too good because people next room were partying/humping til 4, but then I was moved to room 301 which was quiet, comfortable and had sea views. Staff were always nice and I pigged out on breakfast each morning.

"Great hotel and most helpful staff"
Sylvia K, 30 Décembre 2015

I did hesitate when booking as it seemed to be not in the centre of the Fasro. It turned out that, as Faro is not a big town, it was in fact not more than 10 minutes walk from the Marina. The hotel itself is clean an spacious, very comortable beds and clean, large bathroom. It is somwhow in between the boutique and a chain hotel ( in a good way). You get a bit of unique decor and the efficiency of the chain hotels. The staff were more than helpful ( we kept on asking for info, directions, booking the attractions tickets and taxis so we certainly are in position to review here ;). They were very helpful but in a relaxed and not over the top manner. Hotel itself has 24 hours bar, free tea/coffee facilities, and a breakfast they serve is a must so DO book it with your room if you can.

"Well run hotel"
ZX10RSpeedFour, 20 Décembre 2015

Good size room, regularly cleaned, comfy bed. All the amenities were available as stated. Pleasant and communicative 24hr reception staff also double up to serve a small selection of drinks or snacks at any time of the day. Bus/coach/train/boat transport are all within easy walking distance (wheelchair users may find some pavements too narrow/uneven).

"Excellent value hotel"
Sw17guy, 16 Décembre 2015

This hotel exceeded my expectations. It has large, clean rooms, comfy beds and free wi fi throughout the hotel. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good with a selection of cereals, cold meats, bread, fruit and beverages. It's lication 5 minutes walk from the marina is a bonus point too. Well worth a visit and highly recommended.

"VERY GOOD VALUE - 82%"
HoneyMonsterontour, 29 Novembre 2015

Stayed here for 7 nights B & B - £122. Good size rooms with a good view of Faro from the roof top. You can sun bathe here if you want to. Rooms are of a good size with a decent TV. Good storage. Breakfast offers a good selection of meats, cereals, tomatoes, breads, juices, various coffees, apples, oranges, kiwi fruit, honey. It's help yourself so eat as much as you want. Air conditioning in room. About a 15 minute walk to the bus station.

"Excellent value for money"
Arnoldis40, 29 Novembre 2015

I was in Faro for a couple of days and needed somewhere central. If your looking for a Holiday resort hotel, this isn't it. Its a typically Portuguese hotel, the staff were friendly, spotlessly clean, central location, & excellent value for money.

"Central"
MariaEmaA, 29 Octobre 2015

It was ok for me as I arrived late and left early. Quite noisy outside but not the hotel's fault. Otherwise clean and friendly staff. Good value for money. Would stay again for a short break or for overnight stay.

"Felt welcome "
ejp1975, 30 Septembre 2015

I stayed here for 1week while my friend was in hospital after an accident. Great location 10min walk to hospital or 10min walk to marina, shops & historical places. The staff made me feel extremely, welcome helped me use the public computer to communicate with insurance, room was lovely & clean even had a fridge in it. Bar/lounge area was very comfortable. I would definitely go back. Hopefully under better circumstances

"Very good hotel!"
alexandriamg, 17 Août 2015

I was pleasantly surprised with my stay here. The room was very clean, the bed was large and very comfortable. Shower was very powerful. It is about a 10-15 minute walk into the city centre (the marina and all of the restaurants and stores). I only stayed one night so I didn't have much interaction with the staff however they were pleasant. Good value for your money.

"Truly brilliant!"
southernboy123, 11 Août 2015

The staff at this hotel should feel very proud as they do a wonderful job to make their guests feel comfortable and welcome. Our first time in Faro was complimented superbly by this understated but really great hotel. So the location isn't 'pretty' but it seemed a good neighbourhood; and the local feel I actually liked. The hotel itself, because it's not modern, has charm and character, which actually benefits the place. Our room (top rear) had a fantastic view of much of the town; and right down to the ria formosa. I must thank Fatima, esp, on reception for the warm, helpful and friendly welcome. All the other staff were excellent, too, throughout our stay. Breakfast is a must: healthy portions; and a huge selection, and.... lovely fresh soft rolls! Turn right out of hotel, walk few mins to fantastic, indoor market selling all kinds of meats, fish, cheeses and produce. And take a light snack n drink outside: the place to the left of market did a lovely cold tapas-type fish based dishes!

"Lovely staff"
Tina93, 29 Juillet 2015

Not the best area but short walk to restaurants. Staff are lovely and helpful. Breakfast basic but very satisfactory. Comfy bed, good air con, basic bathroom but great shower. I would recommend a short stay here.

"Surprising good"
User, 29 Juillet 2015

We booked this hotel just for one night at the beginning of our weeks stay in Lagos ( end of June) I must admit that because of the low price we weren't expecting much but we were all pleasantly surprised. We arrived quite late but we received a lovely welcome from the reception, the lady that checked us in even served us drinks at the bar......that's what I call multi-tasking! Our room was spotless & we had a lovely view of the marina & couldn't really fault it, apart from the beds were a little on the hard side. We also had a great breakfast which for the money was superb value. I would highly recommend for a short stay & would go back if I needed to stay in Faro for a night or two.
