    « Renovation? »

We came late at night, the receptionist could have been more welcoming... We were told we got a deluxe room, we were happy with that until we came to the room... not deluxe at all. All the other hotels we have stayed at for our 3 week trip was better. Totally needs som renovation and better cleaning! We did not use the pool since it look unhygenic when we came at around 9 pm. The breakfast was ok. Won't stay here again if I´m in the area.

« Little bit of paradise! »

We loved this recently renovate hotel. It has clean comfortable rooms, a nice lobby and a great Oasis area with hot tubs, propane fire pits, tiki torches and a nice pool area. When we arrived we were told we could get the hotel limo to and from any restaurant in the area which we did take advantage of and it was great, had a couple of drinks with supper and no worry about driving back to the hotel. This would be a great place for families to spend a few days as the Oasis is a perfect area for families.

« Best place in Eureka ca »

Best place in eureka ca. Breakfast and pool lounge atmosphere is exotic. Feels like you really are on a vacation. I suggest bringing your swimming suit. You will want to enjoy a relaxing time in the hot tub.

« Best Western Humboldt Bay Inn »

Spent three nights here in October while visiting Redwood National and State Parks. The motel is right next to the highway in the middle of Eureka and worked out well for me. I had an interior room that was, large, clean, comfortable and very quiet. All of the staff from check in, to cleaning, to maintenance were pleasant and helpful. It's obvious that the management takes great pride in the property and makes an extra effort to keep everything looking good. There was a nice landscaped garden just outside my room and an area called the Oasis with a pool, spa, hot tub, fire pit, pool table, and multiple seating areas. The breakfast room is adjacent to this area so that's where I had breakfast each morning and it's quite relaxing. All of this elevates this motel to another level. I will definitely stay here again when I am in the area.

    « Amazing Stay »

Our Rooms were Beautiful I was so surprised with our large and spacious Rooms The Pool area at night was amazing and we even had great heavy robes in our rooms to use! This will be the only place I will stay when I'm in Eureka!!

« Perfect for the price, Very good overall, but a couple disappointments »

This is one of the nicest Best Westerns we have stayed at...and we stay at them quite a bit. The location is good, on the main thoroughfare...which is good for convenience, but does make it fairly noisey through the middle of the night. The room was very clean and the LARGE hot tub area is wonderful in a spa-like atmosphere. It connects with an indoor/out door room with spa lounges, multiple gas fire pits, lots of natural plants and trees...Truly an amazing "oasis" for a budget hotel. Our only disappointments were the fact that the "free" wi-fi was down our first 24 hours (big bummer when traveling with a teen and trying to stay on top of my business without using our own data plan), and our HUGE glass shower did not drain well at all...for more than 30 minutes each time.

    « Amazing pool area! »

We are staying here for two nights. When I booked the room I didn't realize that 101 basically wraps the hotel but the noise isn't bad. The staff is very friendly and the room was clean. The hotel offers a continental breakfast that is okay, nothing special. Our room has a refrigerator, microwave and a tv with a DVD player which is a nice touch. The real gem though, is the pool area, I can't gush enough. Amazing huge hot tub with waterfall. Nice sized pool with kid friendly sections. Very comfortable patio furniture with lots of outdoor heaters. I recommend this hotel, especially if you have time to enjoy the pool area.

    « Very delighted! »

We stayed here for our 25th anniversary and loved it! We almost stayed at the other BW, but my husband spotted a picture of your Oasis area and that was that. And I am so glad he did! While the area is not very pretty, the Inn really made their place very nice. The rooms are clean and spacious with microwaves and fridge. The breakfast is very nice and I loved the fact they had Breakfast sandwiches ready to pop in the microwave , instead of bins of eggs and sausages just sitting there. And great waffles with nice toppings. Juice, cereal, bread, pastries, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee, tea and other choices made their breakfast really filling. And the best part... the Oasis.. A beautiful Hawaiian theme outdoor area with a fire pit, fire place, comfy chairs and sofas and a lagoon spa with waterfall! With Hawaiian music playing and a pool table for fun, we spent each night and morning enjoying the peaceful relaxing Oasis they created. Room cleaned nicely each day AND a complimentary Limo to take you to downtown restaurants in the evening! we used it on our Anniversary and felt very special and the driver Selina? Was very nice and informative. Very nice touch!Looking forward to coming back!

    « A real GEM! »

This place is definitely a GEM and Best Western should be very proud of their staff. We stayed here for almost a week for a business trip. This is an older motel, with parking right outside your door. The staff made our stay very enjoyable. From check-in to requesting a late check-out, the staff was top notch. The staff in the front office helped us many times, from copying, to finding the sweet local spots to go. All of the staff are so kind and friendly, including breakfast, pool and room staff. More importantly, they keep the entire property very well maintained. Our room was a typical hotel room but it did have thick robes to wear to the pool. They also did a wonderful job of cleaning the room each day. The breakfast served was a bit more than continental. Plenty of choices and decent coffee. The pool area was amazing, 82' degrees, crystal clear, pool (big enough to do laps) and the hot tub (big enough to walk around in) had an awesome water fall! Surrounding the pool area were great tiki-lamps, fireplace, fire pit and heaters all around. Plus a pool table. Again, the entire area, spotlessly clean! We had great nights of sleep. It did not seem too noisy being it is right off of the main road. It is not far from the old town and there are great places to walk. Pleasantly surprised, being it is an older, remodeled motel.

    « Oasis in Eureka »

Eureka is a little wild normally, and on Halloween, I was dreading a visit. However, this hotel was secure, quiet, comfortable and very relaxing - a little oasis in the craziness of the Northwest. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and professional, and a truly frightening evening (stormy weather, local flooding, deer jumping into the road and barely visible Trick-or-Treaters) was transformed into a blissful haven.

    « Lovely once again »

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. I am in Eureka on business and I find that the accommodations are comfortable, attractive and the service is responsive. I need chairs for a meeting in my room and the staff is very accommodating on this need. The rooms are quite lovely and the breakfast is the best I have had at a hotel.

    5
« Nice hotel, great amenities »

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend business trip to the area. The hotel is recently remodeled, clean and comfortable. The breakfast had lots of options and managed to satisfy both my husband and me (which can be hard to do!). The room was spacious and modern, and we liked having a microwave and fridge. Perhaps the best part of the hotel, is the pool and spa area, equipped with conversational fire pit areas and a pool table. This would be a great choice for families.

    5
    « Comfortable stay »

Stayed here for 2 nights while driving up the Pacific Coast. Cannot fault the Best Western. We were upgraded on arrival and our room was large and bathroom had everything you needed. Good selection for breakfast plus a waffle maker. Made use of sitting by the pool in the afternoon sun and walked around the Old Town in the morning visiting a lovely Bagel Cafe. I think 1 night would have been a better option as I was not over impressed with Eureka but enjoyed my choice of accommodation very much.

    4
    « Nice, comfortable rooms »

We upgraded to a premium room and are glad.. who ever had a recliner in a hotel room? They also had a laundry room which was much needed since we had been traveling for 2 weeks. Comfortable bed and was clean. Nice pool but too cold to go in in October. Also a pool table Down side was, the Jacuzzi was closed and a heated pool that was closed.

    5
« Room was fairly small but nice! »

Love the room even though the room is pretty small, i can hardly put two big luggage bag in the room. But we enjoy their out door hot tub, it was very serene. And besides that, they have free towels to be used in the poor area if you forgot to bring you towels down from the room. Wish they can supply robes as well for the guest to use in the hot tub to the room. Would definitely return to this property!

« Not the greatest location »

We originally had plans to stay here. I had called earlier in the day to see if they had any rooms available that evening, and they said they did. When we arrived later that afternoon we noticed a lot of homeless people in the area. This hotel is sandwiched between 4th and 5th Streets, aka Highway 101, so there is LOTS of traffic. There happened to be a couple heading back to their room, so we talked with them before checking in. They said they heard the homeless people walking past their room during night, and with the noise from the traffic they didn't get much sleep. We decided not to stay there, so I can't speak to what the rooms are like.

    5
    « Absolutely a beautiful Best Western! »

We had a wonderful stay. Clean room and updated. Comfy bed. Great breakfast and breakfast area. The Oasis had a pool and 2 spas, an out door fire pit and overhead heaters. Make this a destination and you won't be disappointed.

    4
« Good location and friendly staff »

Stayed for 2 nights earlier this month, asked to move room to one over looking the fire pits, as these are some of the quiter rooms. Free limo shuttle until 10pm...handy as some of the streets look a bit scary if you don't know your way around. Standard room, no thrills but very friendly staff.

    4
    « Convenient location, clean, well-maintained motel »

Best Western motels have a certain amount in common; but this was a good example of meeting and exceeding the typical BW standard. It is just a few blocks from Old Town; it offers a limo service if you don't want to walk; it has a pool, a Jacuzzi, an exercise room, and a clean breakfast room with a wide variety of selections (included in the room price).

    4
« Nice place, clean, friendly service »

The hotel was a good stopping place for us on our way to Oregon. The hotel was clean and easy to find. Eureka was a surprise and not in a positive way. Not much to see, seems run down, lots of homeless people. We wouldn't return to Eureka but the hotel was okay.

« Hidden secret in Eureka »

We stayed one night at the BWP Humboldt Bay Inn. The room was beautiful and clean, the Rec area with the hot tub, waterfalls, pool table and huge pool was amazing!!! Even in the fall when it was chilly they had fire pits and electric heaters everywhere! They provide FREE limo service to local restaurants and have free breakfast. You can not go wrong for comfort and value at this hotel! We will be back!

« Top notch Best Western »

I've been staying at Best Western's for over thirty years and this property in Eureka, Ca is certainly in the top three I (we) have ever stayed at. I stopped patronizing Best Western for years because of a certain type of franchise owner. Recent stays in Frankfort Ky and here in Eureka has me coming around again.Friendly, helpful staff. Impeccable grounds. Spa area has the BEST (and largest) hot tub ever. This owner has put his money where his mouth is and reinvested A LOT of dough back into his business. My only complaint is the property backs up to Hwy 101 on two sides and street noise was loud on one nite, not so much on our second night. Ask for an inside corridor room !

« I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING IN EUREKA - STAY IN ARCATA INSTEAD »

We originally had plans to stay here. I had called earlier in the day to see if they had any rooms available that evening, and they said they did. When we arrived later that afternoon we noticed a lot of homeless people in the area. This hotel is sandwiched between 4th and 5th Streets, aka Highway 101, so there is LOTS of traffic. There happened to be a couple heading back to their room, so we talked with them before checking in. They said they heard the homeless people walking past their room during night, and with the noise from the traffic they didn't get much sleep. We decided not to stay there, so I can't speak to what the rooms are like. After spending a day in Eureka, it's very obvious that Eureka has a HUGE, HUGE homeless problem and some of them we encountered walking around town were kind of aggressive. Even at the other Best Western and the newer, nicer Holiday Inn there are homeless people around. We ended up staying in Arcata, just about a 10 minute drive away. It's a much, much nicer area and the hotels are priced the same as in Eureka. For us, it worked out to be a nice more pleasant experience.

    « Hidden Gem »

We love this motel, it is a hidden Gem in the middle of a great little town. It has a fantastic hot pool and lounge area with heat lamps and cozy chairs for sitting outdoors on a cool morning or evening. Breakfast is generous and varied, good coffee too!

« Now my favorite Best Western »

What an awesome place ! Everything was great . Check in, room was comfy, clean and a good sized. The towels were fluffy, the Oasis was a real treat. Swim size hot tub with a waterfall, doesn't get much better than that. Our room was spiffy clean the second day when we came back from our outing. The breakfast was good. You could eat outside under a covered patio with a heater. Free news paper in the lobby. For now I will say " have not been to a better Best Western."

    « Good hotel »

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It seemed to be recently updated and the staff were all friendly. The place is right next to busy roads so if you are a light sleeper, this may bother you. When I arrived in my room, it had a faint smell of smoke although it was a non smoking room. I alerted the front desk and they had someone come immediatlely and help. I didn't use the service, but there is a limo that will take you to dinner so you don't have to drive. Breakfast is fairly good, with some hot and cold options. There is a small but nice fitness room. The best part was the Oasis area, a very nice section that is relaxing and well maintained. There is comfortable seating, a pool table, a pool, hot tub with water feature and heating lamps for cool days. Certainly a property I would happily return to if I am ever in the area again.

« This is Hawaii in California »

We stayed here because the BW in Arcata was full. I was kind of bummed that after the Western Oregon vs. Humboldt State football game (we won, WOU) we had to drive the 10 or so miles to Eureka, CA and stay at the BW there. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!! No reason to be bummed. This place rocks. This has the best staff, out of nearly 100 BW's we have stayed at in the last two years, all have been great but one, but this location is the best hands down. The pool and spa area are just like walking onto the beach in Maui. No kidding. Beautiful waterfalls, nice spa, great pool, tiki torches, fire pits, everything but the cooked pig. LOL. This is a great place to stay, you wont find another one better. Cant wait until the 2017 college football season. I'm sure we will visit this piece of Hawaii before then.. Thanks again for the pleasant night, great free breakfast, and a staff that goes the extra mile for us travelers.

    « Hawaii in Humboldt »

This is a fabulous hotel with amazing staff and owners. The owners were on-site daily and interactive with guests. The front desk workers were polite and have a genuine interest in the care of their guests. The pool with a basketball goal, jacuzzi, and pool table were perfect for our teenage boys. During our stay, we enjoyed the free limousine rides to restaurants around Eureka in the evenings for dinner. This hotel is walking distance to fun shopping and restaurants in down town Eureka.

    5
    « Beautifully rennovated »

Pleasantly surprised after reading previous reviews. This was one cool hotel. Even though our room backed up to a busy street, we could barely hear the noise. The pool/patio/breakfast area was very inviting, with fire pit, heaters and an amazing spa/pool.

    « Perfect date night! »

My husband and myself had the best date night at the Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn!! We took the complementary limo out to dinner at a fantastic Seafood restaurant, then throughly enjoyed the beautiful Oasis Hottub/ patio area!! Hands down best date night yet!! Thank you to all the staff and management for a very memorable evening!!!

    « Excellent hotel »

Stayed for one night as part of a larger trip. Modern, large comfortable rooms with breakfast and complimentary coffee. Jacuzzi and pool area provide a nice retreat. Walked to lost coast brewery in the evening for some nice grub and excellent beers. Recommended.

    « Amazing +110% »

I always heard 100% is your best, if that's true this hotel will blow your mind! It's the first place I've EVER stayed that became a vacation, not a stay in-between place. I'm certain I can't do it justice with my review, but here goes. The waterfall spa hot tub, amazing! The pool, billards table, rec area, amazing! The workout room, with the best EVER massage chair, amazing! The fact they have a complimentary chauffeur and limo to take you anywhere you want to eat, amazing (I recommend Sea Grill, which they recommended and was awesome!). The staff is amazing; the beds and pillows perfect; really the BEST ever! You will NOT regret your stay here, promise!

    4
« Not bad at all!! »

Stayed here for one night. Spent forever finding a liquor store so that we could drink round by the pool in plastic cups. The hotel receptionist was very helpful and polite. Pool and hot tub area was busy which is a good sign of the relaxed atmosphere here. Rooms are spacious and clean but perhaps a little outdated. Perfectly adequate for the single night I was there.

    4
    « Pleasant »

Passing through on our trip north to Portland and Seattle. Room a little dark but clean and plenty of space. Didn't get a chance to try pool, hot tub or fire pit in courtyard area - shame. Buffet continental breakfast was passable but busy due to tour bus and school trip staying overnight. Worth a stay for a night.

    4
    « Satisfied »

Stayed at this hotel for business trip. Rooms updated and clean. Staff very friendly, and breakfast/recreation very area nice. Walls thin as I heard noise from rooms above and beside, but I would definitely stay here again if I have travels to the area. They also offer complimentary limo service to area destinations for guests and had good advice for local attractions and places to eat.

    « Great hotel »

We stayed at this hotel for one night while travelling around California. Very impressed with the ambiance , decor and overall professionalism of the staff. The rooms were spotless and very tastefully decorated . The Oasis room which is for use of guests was lovely with indoor pool and very tasteful decor. I would most definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in the area.

    5
« The Best of Best Western »

This hotel has to be one of the best Best Westerns. The rooms are modern, well decorated and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. A surprise was the Oasis, which was warmed by gas "tiki" lights and a very welcoming gas fire pit with very comfortable seating. A welcome bonus is the free limo service to any restaurant of your choice

    4
    « Tops »

Humboldt bay inn is a great place to stay. The friendliest staff, lovely grounds, room well appointed and clean. The hotel provides free transportation into downtown for dinner. No other hotel we stay in does this. Very convenient to walk to town. The location sometimes seems a little cautious because it is right on 101 as you start downtown, but don't let that deter you. This is one of the best Bestwesterns in the state. We stay here often.

    « "WOW...Oasis Beauty by the Bay" »

My wife and I traveled to Eureka from Dallas Texas and I was literally blown away by this hotel...our room was perfect...very roomy, awesome decorations with every amenity in the room, as well as the convenience of parking right outside my door...the new Oasis hot tub (2 hot tubs and a heated pool) and fire pit, outdoor pool table was extremely relaxing (even had Hawaiian music piped in)...there was also a hotel limo (not a shuttle bus) that took us to the historic downtown, which was super cool!...while the staff was very professional, they were also personable and went the extra mile to make us feel at home. I could go on and on but...In my travels, I have stayed at all types of hotels...and this one rates at the top...I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back...John T.

This hotel is an outstanding example of Best Western Plus. The Oasis facility was a pleasant surprise with gas"tiki" lights and a very comfortable gas fire pit. An added bonus was the limo service to restaurants

    « Rocking place! »

Awesome place from reserv. To check in/ check out.Pool , hot tub pool encased in rock, lush setting with waterfall!WOW!pool table, comfy lounge areas with gas fire pits. Pool Attendent thoughtfully turned on tiki heat lamp on so we'd be warm on pool exit!!;-) Pool Basketball , what a blast ! Breakfast had great choices, loved Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches! You'd have to see this gem to believe it!! Within easy walk to "Old Town" and market. Only down is 101 noise. These people really care. Thanks BW Humboldt!!??

    « More of a motel style »

I was so dissatisfied with this hotel we ended up leaving earlier then expected. You can hear the drunk people walking by your door almost every time after dark. The receptionist don't seem to care or don't know the meaning of customer service. Every time I went in to use the business center they were always in the back with the door shut as if they were afraid of staying visible to the guests. The coffee maker is in the bathroom?? really? making coffee in the bathroom?? found beer caps under the chairs..just plain strange during my entire stay!

    5
« Little retreat off the highway »

Front desk staff friendly and welcoming. Room comfortable and clean. No time for the pool etc., but in a nice enclosed area; wish we could've. Breakfast room off the pool area; gives the feeling of outside dining without the worry of weather. Would surely stay again if in the area.

    4
    « OK place »

OK place with spacious rooms. There is also a pool & hot tub on the ground, which are pretty good in shape. Breakfast included in room rate. Wi-Fi available - but it keeps on breaking up. I shall be back if I ever come back to Eureka.

« Kindness, not an option! »

I was travelling from San Francisco back to Edmonton and after almost 12 hours drive I needed to stop for the night in Eureka. I booked my room online and then went to the hotel. I informed the receptionists that I had a service dog and they first said that it was ok, then they asked what kind of service dog he was and as soon as they heard "emotional support" they denied me the room. My dog is a certified dog and I travelled with him all over the States and Canada, He is perfectly trained! Apparently the ADA approves that emotional support dogs can be refused, basically discriminating the disability . The hotel followed the rule, there is not too much to say other than I was suppose to be there only for few hours and then leave early in the morning, basically a safety stop. I thought that if they accept service dogs for other disabilities, would have been kind to accept mine too. This did not happened! The attitude of the the 2 young receptionists was unbelievable, both supported by the manager with whom I talked over the phone. I simply asked her to be refunded for the night and that I mainly did non want to stay in an Hotel that discriminates disabilities. I travel with my dog and I have certificates from my Physician and my Psychologist supporting that, this is not a joke. How unkind is to let in a intuition like that , someone at 9 o'clock at night after 12 hours drive. Not nice!!! I found a rom at the Comfort Inn, spacious, superclean, renovated...a blast. There we were welcomed. I will never ever again book a room at Best Western and I suggest all travellers with disabilities that travel with their precious companions to do so.

The front desk clerk was friendly, very knowledgeable, very helpful, well dressed. The room that we stayed in had just been refurbished and was very clean and well coordinated. The outside of the Inn was very well kept and clean. We certainly will return.

    « V.J.L. »

The improvements to this property were well over due and completed well. Great place to stay, comfortable and very accessible. This is very close to the downtown which offers a lot of things to do. The very central location is perfect for a couple to enjoy a couple of days.

« Very comfortable, clean, modern and kid-friendly! »

Hands down a great place to stay with family. Our room was very clean, modern and comfortable. I was very impressed! I travel a lot for work and this was one of the best hotels I've stayed at in a while. The Oasis was fabulous. Management obviously spent a lot of time, effort and money making this the great spot that it is. I give this property 2 thumbs up!

« Our stay in Eureka »

The BW Humboldt Bay was everything I have come to expect from BW Plus. The rooms were very comfortable. Not sure if we were just tired but we slept well in a very comfortable bed. I guse my only complaint was the lack of variety at breakfast. The waffles were good but in our 2 days there there was never a choice of eggs (other than hardboiled) or sausage. The front desk staff was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, I do not have here name but the young lady who checked me in on Monday night was outstanding. I wish I had her name as she is to be commended. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will certainly return if I am in the area.

    « Very nice hotel »

If you are moving your child to HSU or just visiting the school, this is a very nice hotel for you to stay for the value! The room we were given was upgraded and very clean. The wi-fi is FREE, have an easy log in process, and fast. It is about a 10 minute ride to the university and it is located walking distance to many restaurants and downtown Eureka. The "Oasis" (hot tub, pool and quiet sitting area) is a perfect spot for moms and dads to relax after a day of hauling boxes and navigating through the Hills and Stairs of HSU. There's a simple breakfast every morning. AND, ALL the staff are friendly.

    5
    « An Oasis! »

This was the BEST of the 5 Best Westerns we rated at on our Nor Cal vacation. The hotel has a fresh remodel that is stylish and the pool area is literally called an Oasis, with an oversized Hawaiian themed hot tub and a tiki lounge. They also offered a free limo service to and from the restaurant of your choice, which was the highlight for our kids (5 and 7) who called it a "long car." The complimentary continental plus breakfast was perfect for us, with make your own waffles and breakfast sandwiches.

    « Great Stay »

Nice clean hotel. Wonderful pool, spa and exercise room. Great internet. Breakfast was fantastic. and the front desk sent us to a really nice seafood restaurant in Old Town. A great experience. Old Town Eureka looks like a great area to explore on a future trip.

Noisy, cramped hotel with not much going for it. I would never recommend this Best Western to anyone! The value was extremely poor for the room that was assigned to us. You try sleeping next to a major highway and see if you can get a good nights sleep!

Stacey at the front desk was delightful! Very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately our bathroom was not very clean when we checked in but was clean thereafter. There were two bathrobes and four sets of towels when we checked in. After the first day no new bathrobes and inadequate number of towels were replaced. We very much enjoyed the hot tub, fireplace and patio area. Breakfast was very good too.

This is a great hotel and I really like the rooms and staff! Stacy the manager was great in assisting me in securing a room before my son goes to school. We loved the outdoor pool table, sauna and swimming pool. My son also loved the limousine ride through town and to dinner. It was fantastic. Check in was fast and check out was even flawless. My family had such a good time that were going to return next year to take in more of highway 101.

    « Beware of Parking! »

Stayed at this hotel for Humboldt freshman orientation. In addition to jacking up the price during this time, I was literally afraid to park my rental car in the lot because the spaces were small and too few for the number of rooms. I heard someone leaving around 11pm and was able to through on a robe and move my car as I was so worried about getting door dings. The patio area was very nice, but didn't get to enjoy it due to our late arrival. Bed was comfortable, but bathroom was a little tight.

« nice, clean, accomodating and friendly staff »

Came to bring out daughter to Humboldt State College and was glad we picked this hotel. It was nice, the pool area was nice - I like that the breakfast had plenty of outside seating. Rooms were clean and internet worked great. Went to dinner at Lost Coast around the corner and it was really good.

    « Wow!!! »

This property is an oasis in the heart of Eureka, CA. We have a home in a rural area on the coast about 2 hours south and come to Eureka at least once a month for shopping, entertainment, dining and special occasions. When we need to stay over we've stayed at the other BW property in town. The other BW would not accept rewards points for our stay so we thought we would try this property as an alternative. I didn't know what I was missing. Don't get me wrong, the other property is excellent too. Very clean and comfortable. But this property and our stay was so far above our expectations. Check in was smooth. The clerk was very friendly, gave a nice overview of the property/amenities, and answered all my questions. The Inn's grounds were pleasing and very clean. Parking was easy. The rooms were fantastic, very up to date, pleasing decor with comfortable beds and ultra clean. Housekeeping obviously takes pride in their work. The wifi was excellent should you need for pleasure or work. One of the nicest amenities to take advantage of is the dinner limo. The front desk staff is pleased to recommend restaurants and take you wherever you'd like. We celebrated a birthday by attending a tasting dinner at a local establishment. The limo made this trip extra special and we didn't have to worry about imbibing in adult beverages. The dinner limo service really sets this property apart. We ate the complimentary breakfast the next day. Very nice selection, well stocked, and clean. There is seating inside and out by the pool/patio areas. This was a nice change from the normally crowded breakfasts at other establishments. The pool and jacuzzi areas are well done -- nicely landscaped, roomy, lots of patio furniture and a great firepit too. Very nice spot to unwind, relax and enjoy family, friends or just have some alone time. There is one issue to be aware of that in my opinion the property has gone above and beyond to deal with, traffic noise. This property is located at a busy crossroad in the city. Traffic noise is very apparent, but once we were inside our rooms or out at the pool area we felt like we were in our own quiet oasis in the center of Eureka. There is also an unsightly burned out building across the street which is beyond their control. We had such a pleasant stay at this BW and would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area.

This is a very nice hotel. The rooms were updated, clean and quiet. The pool was nice but the Jacuzzi was amazing. The breakfast was great and fresh eggs and bacon shy of a full sit down type breakfast, they even had fresh waffles.

I stay over on business twice per week. Great rooms and even better staff. They're always friendly and willing to accommodate. They have a great Oasis area with hot tub a pool that's nice to relax in. Free limousine ride to local restaurants in the area.

This Best Western is one of the Best on the west coast, excellent staff (When out tour bus arrived red carpet and cookies and a meet and greet by the manager). The rooms are large but with no safe (like several places in USA), good size bathroom and all round comfortable. The place is a Motel style layout, with an excellent complimentary breakfast, the pool is small and heated with a free pool table in the same very pleasant area of the hotel.

From the amenities, to the cleanliness of the hotel, to the friendliness of the staff...we loved every aspect of our 3 night stay at this hotel! The pool and spa area was a great hang out for our family at night...we would strongly recommend this hotel!!!!!

« Awsome place to relax »

I picked this place because of the great reviews but as I approached it looked very ordinary. I checked in and went to the room and it was very nice. clean, comfortable and seemed quiet. I had noticed some flames as I went to the room so took the kids to go see what the pool area was like. Wow was all I could think as I saw the largest spa area I had ever seen in a motel. 4 or 5 times bigger then anything I had seen before. Waterfalls, color changing fountains really awesome. I went around the corner and a huge heated pool and another spa. Wow! fireplaces and gas heaters to keep warm, pool table lots of seating just a wonderful place to relax. What made the stay even better was the free limo service to any restaurant the city. It was my kids first limo ride and they were thrilled. The only negative was that it seemed while building this great pool area they seemed to forget there needs to be seating for breakfast. Just a few tables and small counter area. Many just took it to their rooms but I think a few folding tables outside would have made it better. Anyway not enough to stop me from staying again.

« Great stay in Humbolt Bay! »

This hotel may have originally been something else, but it is now a very unique Best Western. Love what they have done with the place! They have multiple hot tubs and pools, heated common area, fitness center, and good breakfast!

I visit Eureka four times a year and have had to stay at other Hotels (Motels), for the price this is the best place in town. They remodeled a couple years ago and the rooms are up there with Marriott ( pillows, bed). They are on Hwy 1 and 101 but which ones aren't in Eureka, this one is a little closer. You can't beat the breakfast and limo ride for dinner when you are here for work or pleasure. This is the NorCal Coast, so in summer the rates go up, but the new Holiday Inn is a lot more (for other complainers that don't realize this). Everyone enjoy the real Northern California coast, I get to work here and visit all at the same time. This place is your best value. Enjoy

    |Travelling with our friends up the coast we made reservations for one night, but enjoyed it so much, we stayed an extra night. Their new Oasis area was so nice, waterfalls, fireplaces, relaxing seating made it all perfect. At night we rode in their complimentary dinner limo...what a blast! didn't have to worry about driving so we could have a cocktail at dinner. Their staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay again next spring when we visit our family in Oregon.

    « Disappointed »

Not very happy with this hotel, I had to have two adjoining rooms because I was traveling with my grandchildren I was charged full price for both rooms over $600 for two nights, way overpriced and not worth the money, kids underage six could not use the spa area hot tub, and the hot tub that we could use on the pool side was down the entire two days we were there. so we didn't get to enjoy the hot tub, pool was heated but not warm enough, Breakfast was not worth me paying over $600 for two nights, breakfast attendant was the rudest person I have came across in a hotel, I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past, and will not be staying there again. I spoke to the manager about this and it took me several days to get in touch with her, I pretty much was told to bad.

Loved our stay. Thanks for keeping pool open later. We were late arrivals and pool stayed open after 10pm. Had one pool, two hot tub areas, and a gas fire. Kids loved it and wanted us to stay again on return trip.

« Best Hotel in Humboldt County »

I love this Best Western Property. Although its wedged in an industrial area you feel like your at a quaint hotel on an island. The tiki torches, beautiful sauna and calming Hawaiian music is a nice touch. I stay here whenever I am visiting the area.

« Like it Hot, They have the heat »

The pool is amazing. The reason we stayed there. The breakfast is okay. When you stay at the Best Western in Simi Valley, CA and receive their breakfast you expect that type of quality from all Best Westerns. Here it was a continental breakfast and you cook it yourself. The room was a little small with those two beds in it and table and chairs. The two heated pools and outdoor sitting area is the highest quality of this Best Western. You can sit in the cool breeze and enjoy the warmth from their outdoor fire places and heaters. The pool has steam as it is very warm. They have plenty of nice outdoor furniture to relax. That was awesome. At this Best Western the pool and heaters are five stars.

    « Great Girls Weekend »

Loved this hotel. I took my four daughters on a girls trip down the California coast. The pool and hot tub area is fantastic for fun and relaxation. We were surprised by the offer from the hotel for a free limo ride to dinner anywhere in Eureka. Super fun for a girls night out to a nice dinner. The rooms were clean and nice and check in and out was a breeze.

    « A nice stay but noisy »

The property is very nice but it is right next to hwy 101 so very noisy. The room was clean and spacious and the pool / spa area outstanding. They offer a wide range of choices for breakfast which is nice and you can sit near the pool or spa to eat. I would avoid getting a room ranging from numbers 278-303 and try one of the other buildings that might be more quiet, hopefully.

    « Oasis »

Great place for families to stay. The soaking pool was wonderful, as was the separate pool for children. The complimentary limo for dinner was great. The Oasis area outdoors was fantastic. Service and cleanliness of hotel was great as well. Friends and family are already noting this hotel for their next stay in Eureka.

    « Oasis in Eureka »

We stayed a night on our way to Portland. The staff was very nice and polite and the property is located well though the town itself is somewhat run down. Onsite parking is aplenty and quite safe. For the rate, the rooms are OK with aging carpets and slightly noisy air-conditioners but otherwise clean. However, the pool and spa areas are outstanding and make up for everything since it gives the area a resort feel. The breakfast is OK with boiled eggs and Jimmy Dean microwaveable sandwiches accompanied with juice, coffee, tea, cereal etc.

« Nice place to spend the night »

We were traveling the Pacific Coast Hwy and needed a place to stay in Eureka. This Best Western was not the cheapest option, but a good value for the services they offer. Hot breakfast was delicious, the rooms were well appointed and we wish we could have taken advantage of the heated pool/oasis area. The rooms were very clean, the location was convenient for our needs and the beds comfortable.

    « Beautiful! »

The pools are absolutely beautiful and the outdoor courtyard was a wonderful place to come relax after exploring beaches and the redwood forest. The pools were heated to two different temperatures- the lovely rock waterfall pool is heated warmer and has hot tub jets. The other pool had an area for the kids to play basketball. The staff was exceptionally helpful. The manager went out of her way to recommend locations known only to locals. The staff working the pool area made sure that ice water and clean towels were always available. Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences for our family. The burned out building is scheduled to come down in less than a month. While the nearby burned building was initially a shock, I noticed no odor and our family is asthmatic and smoke sensitive. The hotel is obviously not responsible for a building that they do not own and it really did not detract from our stay. I highly recommend this hotel!

« Over The Top- Beyond ALL Expectations »

Just finished up a three plus week road trip to the Pacific Northwest. We stayed in 7 hotels total during this trip. In the past I had always driven past Eureka on my way home. On this trip we decided to spend the night in Eureka and head down to see the Giant Redwoods the next day. We located the Best Western Plus, Humbolt Bay (Eureka) and reserved a room for the night. While this is not a 5 star hotel by any means it is very clean and charming. It is visually apparent that the owner of this hotel and the staff take total pride in keeping this property looking great. The landscaping is awesome including an outstanding pool and jacuzzi area. Breakfast? The best we had on this road trip! Lots of good choices and a nice seating area. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. Totally enjoyed our stay and will book this place again when in the area. The historical area of Eureka is a fun area of the town to grab dinner and a glass of wine. This area is very close to the hotel. If I had to choose a bad thing about staying at this hotel it would be that the bed was a little on the soft side for my tastes. Appreciated staying here...AAA+ experience.

    « Raising the Bar »

For the mid-priced hotel chains, these guys just raised the bar. Cassie. The front desk employee not only was a very pleasant person to work with, she also signed us up for a promotion that give us $50.00 if we stay at another Best Western while we are traveling. The rooms, patio and continental breakfast where awesome. We loved the cool pool area. They have heaters and comfortable places to sit and talk. I would recommend staying here if traveling through.

    « Smelly »

There is a burned structure next to this hotel that is still there since it burned down a few years ago. We could smell the smoke. The room assigned to us smelled very bad. It turned out that they knew about the smell. They moved us to another room that smelled less. We had a king size bed, the rooms were cramped.

    « Business accomodations »

The property is clean, most of the staff are friendly and customer centric, but a few could still hone their smiles and courtesy skills, especially the management. Rebecca greeted me the first night and was quick ley me know parking was tight but to go ahead and use a reserved spot. Upon check out the desk clerk also was kind and courteous. That aspect alone is a big plus. The continental breakfast had a wide variety of food choices, including fresh fruit and hot fresh waffles. Rooms ate cleans, spacious, but thin walled.

    « What a gem! »

This is probably one of the nicest Best Westerns we've ever stayed in. The rooms are well appointed, and none of them actually face the road which makes for limited road noise. We stayed in a building away from the Oasis area, just for reference. Comfortable beds, great bathroom setup (toilet/shower separate from sink area), and very minimal noise from surrounding rooms during sleeping hours. Breakfast had everything you could want and then some. Do yourself a favor and try the doughnuts - one of the best old fashioned doughnuts I've ever had. The Oasis area is gorgeous and fantastic - we loved everything about it. Also, can't say enough positive things about Celina, the limo driver. First of all, the fact that you provide this service is brilliant and much appreciated, but just know you guys have a total winner in her. All of the staff, for that matter, was completely phenomenal. Thank you for making our 3 nights in your hotel beyond comfortable and very memorable!

« very nice place to stay! »

We were on a tour and the staff met us promptly and were very friendly. We somehow got a handicapped accessible room which was ok but we had a little trouble with the lock on the bathroom door. The room was really large with 2 separate sleeping areas with a TV in each area which we really liked. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. The only 2 negatives were a few holes in the wall that had been patched up and the toilet tank top didn't fit the toilet it was on but these are very minor things. The landscaping was absolutely beautiful and their new Oasis area had a pool, spa, heaters, and a fire pit which was gorgeous. The breakfast included Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, hard boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, donuts, bagels, milk and juices. I would absolutely stay here again.

« Very Old, Needs Updating »

This hotel is at least 50 years old. Some parts have been upgraded very nicely such as the patio and breakfast area. However, the rooms show their age. There are far too few electrical outlets and the walls are very thin allowing ordinary conversations to carry through.

    « Pleasantly Surprised! »

We truly enjoyed the ambiance and friendly staff at this hidden gem! When we arrived, I was not expecting the experience we had during our two night stay. It looks like the usual, small town Best Western, but this place is truly unique and very cozy. The rooms were very clean and comfortable but we really enjoyed the hot tub area with cozy fire pits and waterfalls. I would highly recommend this hotel for families or couples. The hot breakfast is perfect for on the go mornings. This was our first time in this area, and we enjoyed the adventures of the Northern Cal Coast!

The employees were very helpful from the moment we arrived at the front desk. Check in was very fast. The rooms were exceptionally clean and unlike other hotels I have stayed at everything work well. Breakfast was very good, as were the swimming pool and hot tubs. Check out was extremely fast unlike most places that are very time consuming I would recommend the Humboldt Bay Inn to everyone. Very short walk to Old Town, but the have a limo you can request if you desire.

    « A great place to stay! »

This was a beautiful hotel, inside & out. We stayed 3 nights & stayed in 2 different parts of the hotel. All the rooms were very nice, all the amenities, modern decor, clean and quiet (and the place was sold out). There is a fantastic heated pool, two separate hot tubs, and a lovely lounge area with plenty of seating, a fireplace, and a fire pit! The breakfast was continental style, good, lots of coffee! They also offered a limo shuttle service to and from several destinations. I don't know if this is only on the weekends or because it was a holiday weekend, but it seemed to be very popular with the guests! We would definitely stay here again.

« Excellent hotel, questionable area »

We loved the hotel, breakfast was nice, the room was roomy and clean, we were excited about seeing the area, but we left the hotel and started walking after a few blocks we turned right back around to get our car and drove around instead of walking. It looks like they tried to fix up the bay boardwalk, but the water is stinky and there were homeless people all over, sleeping on all the benches and sidewalks. Tons of people sitting in their cars, I think they were passing drugs. We tried to go to several restaurants we had found online, and every one was out of business, we we drove around, which was not easy because of the one-way roads, we found a pizza parlor and ate there but there were so many vagrants I kept looking out the window to check my car was safe. We found a little better area after we ate dinner, there was a movie theatre. We took the kids swimming and they loved the pool and hot tubs, pool tables. I really appreciated the torches to heat the area, it was a bit cold after swimming.

    « Eureka »

I am counting the days until I can return. My room was excellent, the pool area is wonderful. I did find the Limo driver a little short, and possibly a little rude, maybe she was just having a bad night. I ask for a ride to the Cookhouse and was told she was tired of people asking her that, actually it takes 3 minutes less going there than Applebee's in the opposite direction, that makes no sense to me. It would have been nice to have some real food for breakfast instead of microwave breakfast sandwiches.

    3
« Nice pool area, but that's it. »

Booked several nights here since it was highly rated and the pics looked good. Easy to find, right on the main roads into and out of Eureka. That's not a positive because the traffic and noise is non stop. Check in was a breeze and I had requested a second floor room in a quiet area. The room itself was nice; two queen beds, a table with two chairs, a small dresser, ironing board, iron, and 6 hangers. 6? For 4 people in a room? Walking into the room, the table with chairs was first, then the two beds. The bathroom area was large with only one sink. The shower/bathtub combo and toilet were in a separate room which was nice. The pool area was huge with a very large hot tub surrounded on one area by a waterfall. Beautiful. There was a nice gas fireplace and fire pit with plenty of seating in the area. Around the corner from the hot tub was the pool. Average size, but smallish compared to the size of the hotel. We didn't get a chance to go in due to them recently adding chemicals and adding water which was freezing. Another small round hot tub was by the pool. The breakfast area had indoor and outdoor seating with a decent spread of breakfast items. The area around the hotel is sketchy. Auto shops, a burned down building, and an outdoor store across the road (if you can get across with all the traffic). We had planned on staying 5 nights but checked out after the first. If you were on the outside of the bed closest to the windows, the table blocked you in and also blew the air conditioning right into you. That wasn't so bad, but we had people on both sides of us who did nothing but talk loud on their phones while smoking outside our room the entire time. Also, the room to our left had a young kid that kept trying to open their door. I've been there with the whole little kids thing years ago myself, but to slide the safety catch on and allow the kid to yank open, hit the end of the catch, then slam it over and over was too much. The guy in the parking lot lighting up a crack pipe didn't help. Too many vagrants walking around to feel safe in that area. We love Best Western and have loved everyone we've stayed in, but not this one. Like I said, it's a nice place with good amenities, but the other things overcome the good. When you tell the front desk to ask the people to quit smoking in front of the room, you get the usual there's nothing we can do.

    « Spacious and comfortable »

We stayed here on our way to Washington. We had a lovely large twin queen room with great space for a family of four. The rooms were beautifully clean and had all the amenities required, plus the bonus of a microwave. Great continental breakfast. Easy check in and check out. We would stay here again.

    « This place rocks!!! »

This is not your basic Best Western, but much more. On a trip to enjoy the Redwood Coast music festival, we decided to stay local to the festival and booked this Best Western (note that there is another Best Western in Eureka). We were impressed from the moment that we got there. Easy to get to - convenient right off 101 freeway, plenty of free parking, front desk very local knowledgeable. And then you add the pool, jacuzzi, pool table, breakfast eating area (more than the basic room w/ yogurt etc.), nice patio to hang out and eat. Would be good for families w/ kids. Within walking distance of Eureka old town w/ nice views of Humboldt bay, restaurants, shops, markets. The only time we got out to drive was when we were going to the redwoods or farther down to the bay. We told them what kind of things we liked and all recommendations for food were perfect for us. Staff was very friendly from the front desk to the housekeeping to the maintenance guys. And the price was right as well. We stayed there for 5 nights and of course would go back the next time we are going that far north up the coast.

Outstanding pool and outdoor recreation area. The hot tub and seating area are as good as any seen in more high-end resort hotels. The location is industrial but the hotel does a rest job of making you forget about the outside world. My kids couldn't get enough of the pool.

    « Felt like a resort »

Friendly. Immaculate. Pampered. We selected this Best Western for it's convenient location but were blown away by all the extras offered: pool, jacuzzi, poolside buffet breakfast, limousine service in town, gracious staff, nicely appointed rooms. We would return in a heartbeat.

« The Best Best Western »

This has to be the best Best Western and motel in it's class that I've ever come upon. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the amenities are impressive, and the rooms are freshly updated and very clean. Oh yeah, and breakfast is legit. What more can you ask for? What makes this hotel really stand out is the incredible spa and fire pits they recently put in. This was totally unexpected and made for an awesome way to relax in the evenings. The spa / grotto is pretty big and can fit 10+ people. It's also designed to give you a bit of privacy, so multiple couples / groups can enjoy their own little nook. Definitely not your average hot tub! There is also a bar coming soon, which would have been awesome to have while we were there. Instead most people just discreetly brought their own beer / wine and sipped it casually out of cans or paper cups. Our king room was really comfortable and was tastefully remodeled. Big flat screen, mini fridge, nice linens and granite countertops made it all the better. It was also surprisingly quiet for a full house on 4th of July! Lots of kids, very little noise from upstairs or through the walls. Breakfast consisted of microwave Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, pastries and breads. Bonus points for having soy milk. Staying here made our trip to Eureka worth it. We weren't super impressed with the town, but we loved this hotel. Tip: Take advantage of the free limo service M-F from 5:30 - 10.

« Hotel is good, area not so much »

The hotel is good; pleasant staff, complimentary limo ride to dinner, room was clean, hotel was sold out yet very minimal noise heard from neighbors, morning breakfast was what you would expect (Danish and bread, whole fruit, juice, yogurt, hot sandwiches and waffles). Their pool area is pretty cool with the lounge areas, heaters, fire pit and hot tubs. The area of town is the only drawback, the other Best Western appears to be in a less seedy area but this place was fine as we weren't out cruising the streets late at night. Overall, I would stay here again.

« Great hotel close to historic downtown Eureka »

I have stayed at this hotel many times for work trips to the area. It is my favorite in the area and I have stayed at several in the area because I cannot always get the State travel per diem rate here. The rooms are nice and clean, the pool area is fantastic with propane heaters and fire pits so it can be enjoyed all year long. The breakfast is always great. It is about a half mile walk to the historic downtown area. It is also a short walk to the local COOP where they have a nice salad bar for lunch or dinner. The only issue I have ever had at this hotel is they use a certain cleaning product with a strong fragrance that always bothers me for the first 5 minutes I am in the room. I get used to it after that and have no problems. If you are very sensitive to odors (I am not) then it may be more of a problem.

    « Limosine service! »

We visited over 4th of July weekend and the hotels were all full. Really glad we used Tripadvisor to book ahead. Eureka is not a place I'd visit again. It is cold here, and that's normal (high 50's to low 60's) with overcast skies. This hotel had a stretch limo to take you to any restaurant , and pick you up when you were done. Awesome. The hotel is surrounded on all sides by busy streets, and not having to move your car in the cramped parking was great. There is a large, enclosed area called the "Oasis" which has lounge furniture, pool, water feature, and adjoins the area where the free breakfast is served. On our trip it was extremely crowded and I saw no staff refilling coffee and food that was running out. Would probably be better on a non holiday period.

    « as expected »

we had a comfortable overnight stay in the Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay and it was as expected without disappointment, as well without positive surprises, just Standard, but the room was ok-not that small like in many other Motels, bed therefore big enaugh for the 2 of us- clean the sleeping room and the bathroom. If I remember correctly:coffemaker and a breakfast with little selection, but ok. for 1 night Staff friendly.

« They put in a lot of effort but not in the right places »

You've got to love the Hawaiian music and tiki torches around the giant hot tub "lagoon" but maybe I'd rather they spent the effort on making the rooms nicer. Everything is clean. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every noise from your neighbor. Bring earplugs! It's a short walk to the good part of town but this part of town is a tad depressing.

    « Free limousine service! »

The hotel looked to be freshly renovated. We were very pleased with the breakfast offing and the common area had pool table, hot tub and pool separated and a great fire pit area. The room was noisy. We could here a lot of road noise and the neighbors. We loved the limousine service.

« One of the best! »

This Best Western was far superior to any others I've stayed in. Very modern, spacious rooms, clean & very comfortable. The bathroom seemed brand new& the walk in shower was a great bonus. Breakfast in the lovely Oasis area was good quality, particularly the fresh doughnuts & lovely coffee. A great hotel.

« Hotel itself ok, location is not ok »

We booked this is a stopover on our family trip down the Oregon and California coasts. Our stop in Eureka was the only dud on the trip. I realize it is not completely fair to give the hotel a 2, because the hotel itself was just fine. It's just in a very depressing location. Shady part of town. although I did not locate a part of Eureka that wasn't shady. This place is overrun with tweakers and homeless. If you are looking for a stop on a simliar trip that we took, look in Crescent City or somewhere south in the redwoods. Eureka is a very dismal, depressing place.

    « Good, but . . . . »

Nice, very nice place and a very good location. I had brought to attention of staff that someone near was smoking in a nearby room and exhaling in bathroom vent (pretty stupid). The odor (smoke) persisted for over an hour. Centrally located made it very good.

« Excellent Hotel for the money »

The limo and the pool/ lounge area make this an off the charts choice. Selina, the limo driver, makes you feel like royalty and she took us around the town to some of the best restaurants in the area. I would recommend this place to family and friends. Excellent choice!

    « Visiting Family »

The Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn was the closest hotel to my Uncle's house (5 min away) and the best price in the area. The front desk was very helpful and efficient and the room was clean and comfortable.

    « A hotel resort experience »

We have stayed in this hotel at least three times this year, and each time it just gets better. We were placed in a very nice room this time, which was so quiet that we forgot we were in a hotel. The special touches, such as a reading spotlight, make a huge difference in the rooms. The newly updated pool area and spa is unlike anything I've ever seen in a motel. It truly is an oasis, and we enjoyed the brief time we spent there.

    « Eureka Best Western »

The stay was very nice. Clean, comfortable room, with friendly personnel. The location was also very convenient for all of the things we wanted to do. Great value for the money. The hotel had a very nice swimming pool.

    « Great find »

The employees at this hotel are excellent. Everyone we ran into was pleasant, helpful and smiling. The person manning the breakfast area kept it well stocked and continually cleaned throughout the meal service, something you rarely see. The hot-tubs (yes there is more than one) are wonderful. Nice pool area as well. We would recommend this spot for anyone needing a place to stay in the area.

« A good place for one night »

Good welcome from the duty manager. The rooms are small but functional. Motel style. Clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities, no in room safe. Restaurants near by called Katrina's restaurant which serves huge portions of American style food.

« Excellent accommodations in Eureka »

This is definitely one of the nicest Best Western Inns we have stayed in, and we really appreciate their neat, professional service and clean, comfortable accommodations. The office, pool, and breakfast area is attractive and inviting; quite unexpected in the middle of a rather plain little coastal town.

« Comfort In Eureka Ca »

Wonderful experience. Rooms are very quiet and very comfortable. Bed was extremely comfortable. Property was a real Oasis and certainly a very nice addition to the Eureka, Ca Landscape. Great location in Eureka close to restaurants and shopping in old town

« the grounds were lovely and enchanting »

Our driving vacation found us at many lodging facilities. This one was great except for the location, but the staff and management were quite creative in making the grounds lovely and enchanting in spite of the highway noise in the city. My husband kept gravitating to the pools and water features. Traffic noise made it hard to nap for this old gal, but for most travelers who are younger, this would not be a problem. Everything else about the place was great.

    5
« Very nice place to stay »

I really enjoyed my visit here. The rooms were very nice, with comfortable beds, and the 2 reading lights on each bed was a nice touch. The swimming pool area was really a nice treat, has water features, two Jacuzzis, nice sized pool, and pool table as well. Fireplaces with chairs to relax in after the dip in the pool. The Breakfast selections was really good. The staff was very friendly and attentive when I had a problem with the TV remote. They had it replaced within a matter of minutes.

    5
    « Excellent hotel »

Amazing breakfast, gorgeous pool and more like a resort than a motel. Highly recommend this Best Western. Loved it. Close to all of the Redwoods and loved all the hikes and gorgeous trails in the area.

    5
« Great place to stay if you are in the area »

I had to be in Eureka on business and found an accommodating staff who took care of details that needed handling. The king bed was really comfy and there were lots of choices to pick from for breakfast; the pool was small but laps possible and the spa looked good, Highly recommended.

« Great enclosed outdoor area »

Property seems to have been completely updated in the not too distant past. Therefore all is looking good. We checked in about 5pm. The hostess must have been tired as she, while efficient, seemed to act like we were one of many. I had requested a quiet room. She put me in one on the second floor, facing the office. Probably the most noisy in the entire property, as 101 north bound passes on that side of the building and there is a stoplight just before the hotel. Cars and trucks therefore start up while passing the hotel. The property was not full. Fortunately I had ear plugs which helped a great deal, as did the noise of the air conditioner. Everything else was fine. The morning hostess asked how the stay was when I was checking out and I told her it was noisy. She apologized.

    « A superb Best Western »

This is probably the best BW we have ever stayed in. Very good location within walking distance to Historic Eureka. Our room was on the second floor in the Sequoia wing. Very quiet even though the motel is between two main streets. The room was clean and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast in a roomy, cheery room. There is also a lovely outdoor area with a hot tub and seating around a fire pit. Kudos to the staff as well. Everyone was well trained and eager to help. Highly recommended.

    « Wonderful Surprise! »

We have stayed at Best Western hotels all over the country and this Best Western Plus is more "Plus" than we have ever seen! While checking in we were offered a complementary limo ride to and from any local restaurant for dinner. Then there is the outstanding pool area called the Oasis. There is a large heated pool with a basketball hoop that was a real hit with our 13 year old son. There is a small hot tub near the pool where you can keep an eye on the kids. Then there is a huge spa with lots of seating areas, soft colorful lighting and water features. There are also nice seating areas around fire features. There are also patio heaters near the pool seating which allowed us to dry off a bit while waiting on our son in the pool. The whole area is so nice and relaxing and makes it feel like a resort. The rooms also have nice details like reading lights on the headboards, a soft nightlight in the bathroom, soft toilet paper (after 2 weeks of travel, you notice!) and robes. The breakfast was better than most too, including breakfast sandwiches and donuts from a local bakery. We were so excited to see the donuts because we all had been hungry for one and these were so good! We enjoyed our breakfast out in the Oasis area. I wish every Best Western Plus was like this one - Awesome!!

    « Holy Smokes!!! »

This was quite a surprise for us. Free downtown limo service and the back patio / relaxation area was as nice as many resorts I have been to. Beds were REALLY comfortable. I will, without a doubt, stay there every time I go to Eureka!

« More Bang for your Buck »

This hotel was wonderful, the outdoor pool area is amazing, heated pool, hot tub, fire pits, pool table, and major ambiance!! Plus they amazingly have a limo on call if you want to go out and have dinner/drinks without having to drive...unheard of!!! If you like cajun food try the restaurant "Bless My Soul" fantastic!!!

    « Outstanding hotel resort »

An outstanding resort motel. Great rooms with upgraded furnishings, large television, comfortable beds and super clean. The real surprise was the two pools, one with is a large heated spa in a beautifully landscaped area. The owners really take car of their property with exceptionally well landscaped gardens. Perfect for families.

Stay at Best Westerns frequently. This is by far the Best of them all! Friendly, helpful staff...the pool & spas, outdoor patio awesome. breakfast great! More than we ever expected! We stayed on our way to Oregon. We made a last minute decision to stay again on our way home! I can't say that we have ever done that with any other hotel! We look forward to visiting here again!

« Always Enjoy Our Stay!! »

« All you could want for the money »

Up market motel with extra benefits like a small but decent pool and spa, and a free courtesy limo into town. Nice clean room with all facilities, complimentary buffet breakfast, and attractive gardens. We used the limo in the evening and the driver, jokingly called Parker, gave us a mini tour of Eureka attractions before dropping us off at our restaurant. The room was a little dark, as it was tucked in a corner but very quiet and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Birthday Trip »

I stopped at this location for one night on my way up to Oregon. The limousine as well as the pool and spa is what grabbed my attention. Customer service was great, however, I was upset to find out limousine only ran until 10pm on a Friday night :( After all, it was my birthday night and I was really looking forward to taking a ride on the limousine to have some dinner.. On the other hand, I absolutely loved the pool and spa and the entire set up !! ;)

    « Clean rooms »

Stayed here for two nights, rooms were comfortable and clean. This has a hot spa and relaxation area which is very nice. Breakfast is a continental affair. Close to the Old historic town which is Worth a visit. Our room was right opposite reception , so a bit noisy. The hotel has a complimentary Limousine which will take you to any restaurant you wish!

    « Super Nice »

We stopped here after along day riding the motorcycle down the coast. We did not have a reservation but the front desk people were very pleasant and helpful and got us a room. I just needed a room for one night and we got a extremely nice room with parking by the room door so I could keep an eye on my motorcycle, very spacious and CLEAN. The Oasis Area was over the top OUTSTANDING. Pool, Spa, Fire Pits just an awesome spot to relax. The morning breakfast was very good and had plenty to choose from. I would definitely stay here again.

« Enjoyable place to stay because of the Rec area! »

Good experience except for the hotel not being on top of stocking items in the hotel room and swimming area. Also had a broken drain in the sink when we got to the hotel. Loved the swimming area! Breakfast was nice and the rooms were a good size.

    « Great experience! »

Very nice room! Not too far from downtown area with good restaurant options. Location was a little tricky to get to (one way streets in area) but once I found it . . .no problems. Would definitely stay here again.

« certainly, the finest accommodation in eureka »

have stayed at this BW multiple times, mainly on overnight motorcycle rides alone or w/friends from the bay area. have stayed at a number of motels along this area and BW is by far superior; easy entrance/exit, plentiful and secure parking, meticulous and lovely grounds, comfortable rooms and beds with all the amenities, very nice breakfast included, and a beautifully expanded recreational area indoor/outdoor with great pool, large hottub/jaccuzzi, waterfalls, firepits, impressive colored lighting, ping pong, pool table, fitness room, well designed seating areas, etc. it is often foggy in eureka and when you're tired of stumbling around the old town district , this is truly an oasis. while my comments apply to the hotel and its facilities; eureka the town with its many victorian era buildings in old town and a colorful history in the humboldt/redwood/ganja empire, like so many cities and towns in the u.s. is a place of contrasts, not to be politicizing but while you are safe here, the transition is visible all around as we become a more polarized society in the midst of , for many, financial upheaval (and for others windfall). i count myself fortunate to be able to stay at such a fine and comfortable place.

    « Eureka! »

Excellent! It was wonderful stayed in Best Western PLUS Humboldt Bay Inn! But the town does not have bank of america at all. If you have only bank of america account, you better bring cash and/or credit card. ha ha ha

« The is an Oasis Here »

After reading tripadvisor reviews we book a stay at this Best Western. While it seemed like just another hotel, although a large one we were truly surprised when se stepped inside the pool area. There was an oasis. Three pools and hot tubs, fire pits, a pool table and pool games along with fountains. The breakfast area was also in the oasis. And a good breakfast to boot. Very friendly staff, we will certainly return if we ever find ourselves anywhere near Eureka.

    4
« Location convenient, but in an "industrial" area »

I chose this BW of the two in town because it was close to downtown. But, the location was more industrial in feel and wasn't conducive to walking around at night as I had hoped. Check in was efficient and the desk staff changed our room to have a garden view which was nice. However, the view wasn't too advantageous since we didn't look out our windows much since we were on the ground floor. Very cramped parking at hotel since it was busy on a Wed. night. On coming home from dinner, we needed to park next to Kristina's, the restaurant next to the hotel. Room was clean and updated rug, bedding, etc. Comfortable stay, but I'd try a B&B next time for a less busy place to stay.

    5
« BEST PLACE TO STAY in the area... PERIOD! »

    - Professional and friendly staff! - Hotel is beautiful and clean! - They have a free limo driver until 10 pm! - The "Oasis Spa"/ lounge area is awesome and has outdoor patio heaters and a table fire pit! - Heated pool with a basketball hoop, two separate jacuzzis and a "pool jacuzzi"! - Pool table! - Room was clean and had everything you need! (Refrigerator/freezer, microwave, blow dryer, singleserve coffee machine, alarm clock, etc.!) - Breakfast is very good for continental. They even have fresh donuts delivered daily! - "Attached restaurant" right next to it! Overall the best say I've ever had at a Best Western Hotel!!!! Only one bad thing- I hate Eureka! But honestly, I would go back just to stay here again! (And no, I'm not getting paid for this! Go and see for yourself.)

« Best Hotel in Eureka »

Well maintained with many features, highlight of our trip. Nicest place to stay in town. Best pool of any Best Western I've been to. Staff is very friendly. Very tasteful decor and well appointed rooms.

    4
« Great Pool and SpA! »

Brand new spa and pool area...very nice. Breakfast better than the last three hotels...make your own waffles, fruit, and the usual. Room nice and easily accessible as this is a motel, as opposed to a hotel. Nicely redone, clean, and comfy beds. Smallish bath, but nice and clean also. Good wifi reception and flat screen TV. Only a few blocks down to the Old Town area, so convenient for being a tourist. Eureka, itself, wasn't the charming town I thought it was going to be, but you can't have everything!

    3
    « Nice enough »

We picked this hotel as it was a convenient stopping place and we fancied staying in a place called Eureka! Hotel room was spacious although the bathroom was small and a bit stuffy. Can imagine there being a bit of a fight for parking when the hotel is full but we were able to park up right by our room. We didn't have a chance to use the pool but it looked really good. Breakfast was nothing special but it did the job.

« Two day stay with grandsons on spring break exploring state parks and beaches. »

    « Nice stopover off of 101 »

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during our trip down 101. We were a little tired of driving and needed a day to relax. We booked our 2nd night shortly after arriving due to the great outdoor pool area. It was about 65 and sunny but with the heated pool/hot tubs and heat lamps it was very comfortable to relax outside. Plenty of comfortable chairs and since it was a Monday afternoon, it was quiet all day. The rooms were ok; quiet and comfortable but about what you would expect from a Best Western. Breakfast was a good spread and all of the staff we encountered were very nice and helpful. We were even able to do a much-needed load of laundry in the coin-op machines. There are a few good restaurants/breweries in the area if you look for them and there was even a Target! (Drive 500 miles down the Oregon coast and you'll understand why this is exciting)

    5
    « Great Hotel »

This is the very best of the Best Westerns that I stay at and my preference within 100 miles. I have been staying here (when in the area) for over 25 years and have ALWAYS had a good experience. Friendly and dedicated staff.

« Went for a hotel and got a resort experience! »

I was on a road-trip down the Oregon coast with my family and stopped off in Eureka looking for a place to rest my head. We headed to the Humbolt Bay Inn and was stunned by the quality of the accommodation. A beautiful, modern, well-furnished room was just the beginning: it is the spa area that is the jewel in the proverbial crown. There is a swimming pool, a hot spa pool among faux rocks and fountains and a myriad of seating options (with personal fire-pits, etc.) Just fantastic - and unexpectedly so. I spoke to a young man by the pool and he shared that the locals often refer to this place 'the Humboldt Hilton.' All you need to know, right there.

    « A little Aloha in Eureka »

The pool, jacuzzi, fire pit and eating area are done in a tiki lounge theme. It's a nice little oasis in the misty wet Eureka. Rooms are clean and newly decorated. Nice bathroom and comfy bed. TV screen was a nice size as well.

    5
« The BEST Best Western ever! »

This is an awesome place to stay. I usually pick BW hotels wherever I travel but did not expect the over-the-top excellence. Professional pleasant staff, comfortable bed in a fresh and quiet room, fluffy thick towels, breakfast room flows out to the "oasis" (another outstanding feature) for a relaxing start to your day. And the icing on the cake is a fun ride to a local restaurant in a limo. Absolutely would stay there again!

    « Wonderful stay »

Great staff, eager to please. Nice pool, hot tub and spa. Game area with pool table, fire pit with comfy chairs. Limosine to take you to dinner. Good breakfast. Rooms was cozy and clean. If you need anything just ask. One suggestion the breakfast room needs to be a bit larger, but you can eat around the fire pit or around the game area. The have a lot of cozy sitting areas.

« An oasis in the middle of a desert »

The Best Western Plus in Eureka is a nice roadtrip hotel. Our standard king room was nicely appointed but it seemed a bit on the small side. However our room was actually bigger than it appeared and was laid out well. The bathroom reminds me of the retro bathroom in my parents house, not necessarily a bad thing. The shower had incredible water pressure. The bed was firm but comfortable. It was nice to have a couple arm chairs and a small table in the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The TV remote failed to work, so I called the front desk. Someone knocked on the door seemingly before I put down the phone. The Oasis area of the hotel is a really nice touch. It had a large hot tub, a smaller hot tub, a swimming pool and a number of seating areas with fireplaces, tiki torches and a lava rock firepit . There's a resort like feel to this place. The wifi service works better than most hotels I've stayed at. Wifi was easy to log in to and I was able to get about 15-20 mbs.

    5
« Great personal wonderful room »

The Humboldt bay inn is the only hotel I will stay. The staff is the Great beds and great rooms. If you want to stay at the best hotel in Eureka, stay here. Good location, attentive staff. I feel safe staying here and I know my automobile is as safe as it can be. I have stayed at the Humboldt bay inn for over 20 years and any problem is corrected if humanly possible. Everyone goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Try it once you wont be disappointed!

Was NOT given rate quoted when I booked 6-8 weeks prior for both nights - only for one. « Best Best Western I've Ever Stayed At! »

For a budget chain hotel, this place puts the "best" in Best Western. Not only what you'd expect -- clean, comfortable rooms, the usual continental breakfast -- but this place has a fabulous spa area with hot, jetted pool, waterfalls and fire pits that will make you think you've landed at a high-end resort. The staff is friendly, upbeat and accommodating. Oh....did I mention they also have a FREE limo service to local restaurants for dinner? Would definitely stay here if I'm ever in the Eureka area again.

    « Eureka via Bakersfield »

I love this hotel, I almost always stay here, the only times that I don't is when they don't have a room for me and that has happened a couple of times. The only negative thing I can say about this hotel is the size of the showers, they are small, but I'm a big guy 6' tall and 215lbs and the showers are about 3 1/2 feet by 3 1/2 feet but the water pressure is outstanding.

« Wonderful place to stay »

My cousin, niece and I went to Eureka to do genealogy research on family members. A friend recommended we stay at the Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn. We were certainly glad that we did. It was centrally located right near downtown & old town Eureka. Our room had just been renovated; everything was new and nicely decorated. The maid service was excellent. The pool area is really one of the best I have seen for a hotel. The pool was large & very warm, which was nice because the weather was cool. It had a beautiful spa with tiki lights, music playing. There was pool table, large screen TV, chairs around a fire pit, plenty of tables & chairs. The breakfast room was just off that area. It was large with many choices for breakfast. We ate out in the patio every morning. I wish we'd had more time to enjoy the pool area because it was really nice. The hotel also provided complimentary limo service Monday through Friday nights from 6-10 pm. Selina, our chauffeur, drove us to dinner in her stretch limo. She made great dinner suggestions. We loved every place she took us. The service at the hotel was great. Our only complaint was really tiny. Our key cards de-magnetized twice and we had to get them re-keyed. Not sure if it was something we did or the cards themselves. We would definitely stay there again anytime we are in Eureka and we highly recommend it. Great price too!

    « Room had mold »

They have worked hard to update this Best Western and the outside is inviting. The room we had was just redone. Unfortunately the plumbing under the bathroom sink was wrapped in black mold wrapping. It took us awhile to locate where the smell was coming from. We had to check out, as we are allergic to mold. Staff sincerely concerned about the situation and perhaps it is now fixed. Sure hope so.

« Don't Let First Impressions Fool You »

Admittedly when we pulled into the parking lot...myself and my family were like "well, its only one night" But man were we surprised. All rooms are totally renovated and VERY nice!! Breakfast was great...but the real kicker was "The Oasis"...what they refer to their pool area as. It is one of the best if not the very best Pool and Spa areas I have ever found (outside of a resort). My entire family loved it...so much so that we even stayed longer in the morning to enjoy the Oasis for a couple more hours before hitting the road again. and it should be noted...the staff was amazing!

    5
« You would be a fool to stay anywhere else »

We would not consider any other hotel in Humbolt. The staff and hotel are exactly what is needed. From the fish tank with real Nemo and Dory (and rest of fish from Finding nemo) to the Limo driver that takes you to dinner and back, this hotel exceeded every expectation. The Hot tubs and pool are nice the breakfast area is larger and nicer then most and the standard food choices were fresh and well cared for by attentive staff. The little touches like the oversized hot tub to the two waffle irons to the fresh pastries and stretch Limousine to supper all made this stay better then expected.

    4
« Very nice stay in Eureka »

A couple of things make this hotel stand out. The hotel has an exceptional pool/spa area. There is lots of space with a very large pool, a couple of hot tubs plus a large jetted warm pool. There is lots of seating in an indoor/outdoor area with lots of heat lamps and a fire pit, plus a pool table. The other fun thing is the limo service. In the evening, you can use the limo to take you to dinner and then pick you up when you are finished. Our son thought that was awesome.

« This Hotel sets the Standard for Best Western Plus »

This was the third time we've travelled through Eureka, staying at theBW Humboldt Inn each time. The Hotel and staff are all the Best. The rooms are remodeled every 5 years or so; the spa area is incredible, with a pool, hot tub AND a very Hawaiian styled spa-pool with waterfall, bubble-jets and Hawaiian music! The outdoor fire pits are a great place to relax on cool, coastal evenings. The hotel maintains a stretch-limo with complimentary service to any location within the City Limits - nice to be able to go to dinner and not worry about a confrontation with the local gendarmes. The driver, Selena(?), is a delight, always pleasant and informative.

    « Excellent Hotel »

This is by far the best Best Western I have ever stayed in. Although its nestled in an industrial area, the hotel is beautiful, clean and offers an amazing Oasis lounge area where you can relax in a huge jacuzzi surrounded by rock formations and waterfalls. There are fire pits, a game room. I felt like i was in Hawaii staying here! I highly recommend this hotel!

    « Wonderful Facility »

A great facility; clean, comfortable, lots of helpful staff who paid attention to details, a beautiful pool/spa area that was clean and inviting. We have rarely seen a facility this clean and well-looked after. Keep up the good work.

« Would be great for families »

Stayed one night on a trip south. Rooms were pretty typical motel rooms, nothing special, but nothing wrong. It looks the most focus has been on the pool, hot tubs, pool table area, complete with outdoor heaters. Only reason we saw them was they were on our way to breakfast, and thought what fun they would be for families traveling with kids. Breakfast was plentiful. Ate way too much as we read the newspaper provided. The personnel we had contact with were extremely friendly and helpful.

« Comfortable, clean, pleasant staff, good value »

Close to all venue sites at the festival - the rooms were clean and maybe a bit dated (some are being continuously remodeled), but the were clean and comfortable and QUIET. The staff was pleasant, courteous, and helpful. It was a really enjoyable stay in Eureka.

« Great place to stay. Excellent facility and caring staff »

This hotel is great. Very clean, excellent amenities, and caring staff. The pool area is really nice and the grounds are always spotless. Rooms are well suited for the price range and the weekday limo service is great. Highly recommend this property!

    « Convenient stop on the 101 »

We stopped in Eureka in our 101 tour from Portland to San Francisco. The hotel is impossible to miss as it sits right on the 101 set between the north- and southbound lanes as the highway divides in the town. If you were to assess Eureka on the basis of what is seen from this road, you might conclude this town has seen significantly better days. Perhaps it has, but the real old town is just a few blocks to the west and is really quite charming. The hotel is quite large and rooms are set on two levels in an array of buildings. Access is generally from a stairway at one end or other of the building. Parking close to your building might be problematic. The hotel is quite proud of its new outdoor water feature, which is like a hot-tub swimming pool area. More on that later. Our room was in the building adjacent to it. A warm vapor greeted us as we walked along the balcony. The room is pretty standard size: two queens, a decent bathroom with better-than-average fittings etc. Plenty of counter space for all one's items. I find this is often an issue in more modestly priced accommodations. A fridge for sure but I don't recall if there are other items like a microwave. The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast which we did not take advantage of. While one might feel trapped between the lanes of the 101, it is not that busy and we walked the few blocks to Lost Coast, which appears to be the happening eatery in town. It was packed. You can also work the streets of the old town down by the water, which is quaint compared with the somewhat tawdry buildings on the 101. Our one issue should perhaps have crossed our minds before it happened. Like I said, the pool was right outside our room. While it was quiet when we returned, later some revelers noisily took advantage of its waters just as we had turned out the lights. Although the information in the room says it closes at 10 PM, a call to the front desk revealed that it actually closes at 11. I felt that our concern could have been handled with a little more tact and understanding. Note for the future, never stay near the pool. In closing, I have to say that the Humboldt Bay redeemed itself a few days later when, after discovering I had left a jacket there, not only did the hotel have it but they promptly mailed it back to me. So I would return, but try to obtain a quieter room

« Convenient with a great serve yourself breakfast »

Stopped for one night while driving up the California coast. While they have just finished renovations, it seemed to be centered around the pool, hot tub and outside space. The rooms were clean and adequate but did not seem to be new in any way. The location was one the busy road and was easy to find. This isn't a vacation spot. It is more for travelers.

« Good points and not so good points... »

My family and my Father-in-Law stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights during my daughter's Spring Break. The Hotel is undergoing a renovation of sorts. I believe that one building was completely closed for renovations along with an upper floor of another. We stayed in rooms 224 and 225. Pros- Conveniently located to old town with great restaurants and shops. Has a Limo that will drive you to those restaurants and bring you back when done. Staff was courteous and professional. The Oasis was the highlight of hotel. It has a large heated pool with a nice roped off 1 foot deep area (my 3 year old loved that). There is a large spa with waterfalls and colored lighting. There was quite a few seating areas with fireplaces or a fire ring to just relax while the kids were having fun in the pools. The Breakfast and Breakfast area were top notch. Cons- The first two mornings of our stay, we were woken up at around 5 am by the sound of either a dumpster or a metal cart moving around. Afterwards we couldn't get back to sleep because I think breakfast was being prepared (our room 224 is located directly above the breakfast area) and the drawers and cabinet doors were being slammed shut repeatedly. Ants, Ants, Ants - I don't know if it was because we were located above the Breakfast Room or if it was a problem in other rooms as well, but there were Ants present. Not a swarm or infestation, but there seemed to be always crawling around. Bathroom, TV cabinet, and the desk. Overall it was a good stay, but there were plenty of areas that could be improved. If I were to return to Eureka, I wouldn't rule out this Hotel, but I would definitely entertain staying at the other Best Western down the road. If you are considering this Hotel, be sure to ask to NOT stay in rooms 224 and 225.

« NIce for a one night stop »

Pretty nice Best western. Great pool and hot tube in the center of the complex, that had a pretty cool setup. It is very close to the road and the area has some interesting people around so if you can stay in a unit toward the middle of the complex.

    « Good overnight stay »

Great amenities and breakfast. The outdoor patio with 2 hot tubs was very nice and spacious. Breakfast choices better at this location. The entrance is a little hard to access with all the one way streets in town but worth it. Our mattress was probably ready to be exchanged with a new one-way too soft after driving all day.

« Best Place to Stay in Eureka! »

This hotel is immaculate and maintained inside and out. The staff has been friendly and attentive each time we have stayed here. The outside entertainment pool & spa area is Awesome!! Even though you are in the middle of town on a busy street you would never know, they have done a great job of creating a tropical oasis. A great place to hang out and enjoy a little family time. Complimentary breakfast is an added bonus. Thank you for a great 5 start stay!!

This is a wonderful hotel that is immaculate from the rooms to the really cool outdoor pool and spa entertainment area! We always enjoy our stay and appreciate the great staff who are friendly and attentive! We would not stay anywhere else in Eureka, it is a gem in the middle of town!

    « Right on 101 North, noisy?????? »

First of all, we ended-up having to change our room at 4:00 a.m. There were meth heads in the room next door, up all night. Finally, my husband went to the front desk and said we couldn't put-up with the partying anymore. 2nd, our new room was quiet, but the bathroom sink was plugged-up. We called the front desk and reported it but it was never fixed. The spa saved the trip, very nice. I don't think in would stay there again.

« Spring break stop during Redwoods trip »

Our family of four had a wonderful stay at the Humbolt Bay Best Western. Both kids and adults enjoyed relaxing in the Oasis pool and spa after a long day of hiking the redwoods and driving. The complimentary limo dinner service was also a fun bonus. The limo driver took us on a short tour around old town Eureka on our way back to the hotel. We learned some interesting history we would have never discovered on our own. The rooms were clean and comfy. We appreciated the real water glasses in the room instead of plastic. The mini fridge and microwave were also nice for travel snacks/drinks. The staff was super attentive. When the pool area was out of towels, the front desk sent an attendant to restock right away! Drive the extra miles to stay here instead of Crescent City. You will be glad you did!

    « Clean and Cozy »

Comfortable room and excellent staff made this stay great. Nice selection of breakfast items to begin the day, and well appointed rooms to enjoy in the evening. The pool area was landscaped very nicely, and was both beautiful and functional for socializing.

    « Great Surprise! »

Not your average Best Western. Very clean and accommodating!!! The pool area is amazing as other reviewers mentioned. Great water features, fire pit, pool table, fitness center. The staff is probably the best in Eureka. They treat you like you are at a 5 star resort. The breakfast attendant was on top of the cleaning and restocking. Great location in the better part of town. The front desk staff was quick and eager to help. We really could not find a thing wrong. It's the kid of place you want to hang out at all day!

    « Amazing Hotel! »

This hotel is amazing. You really feel like you are at a resort when you stay here. The pool area us huge and beautiful. The hot tub is more like a pool because it is so big. There are heating lamps everywhere and torches. You can truly relax by the pool and enjoy the comfort of this "Oasis". The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The price is incredible for all that you get at this hotel. We are telling everyone how great it is and will definately be back.

« Nice accommodations and amenities »

This was my first time staying at Best Western PLUS in Eureka. The staff and accommodations were terrific. The hotel is located such that local attractions are easily accessible, and is within walking distance to some nice shopping in town. The staff were friendly and professional, making sure that our check in was quick and simple, and letting us know of the amenities available at the hotel. I would stay here again for business or pleasure.

« BW Plus Eureka IS an OASIS! »

I stayed at the BW Plus Humbolt Bay Inn in Eureka on February 28,2016. The reviewer comments I read before booking were all excellent. What few there were that weren't must be from perpetual complainers because it is impossible to find anything negative to say about this place! I see no reason to look any further, a comment another guest made that I agree with. as a woman traveling alone it is especially nice to be at a place that is totally and completely comfortable and safe feeling. The rooms were very nice and spacious with comfortable beds and a microwave and refrigerator. The hotel staff were professional and helpful. the location was very good. What really makes this stand out is "The OASIS" and the Fitness Center. This hotel really put a lot of money, time and thought into creating something inviting, fun and beautiful for the guests. Which makes the reasonable price a true bargain. The OASIS is absolutely lovely. With pool, hot tub and jacuzzi not all crammed together but thoughtfully separated by space, landscaping, plants, etc. The whole area is large with waterfalls, torches for warmth, big comfortable chairs, plants, and more. Seriously luxurious and lovely. There's also a game room. And one of the best fitness rooms I have ever been in. Much attention to detail here that you never see in a motel and at this price level. Incredible experience I loved this place

« Best Hotel in Eureka »

This is by far the best hotel in Eureka. Love the upgrades done to the courtyard. Staff is always excellent. Breakfast was good. One suggestion would be to allow the spa to remain open later for all of us to enjoy. I look forward to my next visit.

    « Great Experience »

Everything was good, except the weather. They had a limousine to take us out to our choice of restaurant in the area. They were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way if we had questions.

    « Beautiful accommodations. »

This was our second stay at this location. They have added a fantastic outdoor hot tub pool and lounge area since our last visit. They still have a pool area with lounge and table areas that are awesome to sit around and enjoy breakfast or just relaxing and using the pool. They have heat lamps for cooler days and evenings and a fire pit, fireplace and water features. It feels like you are in the tropics in the middle of town!

    « Eureka Weekend Getaway! »

Decided to take my wife to Eureka for post birthday weekend getaway. Best Western is generally our preferred place to stay during our road trips...reasonably priced, conveniently located, clean, and free WiFi! There are two locations to stay in Eureka... we chose Humbolt Bay based on reviews and proximity to downtown. We were not disappointed! Check in was quick... we were accommodated with second level room per request. Room was very clean, and kept that way by staff during our stay. WiFi was impressively fast, and did I mention FREE!?! Although we didn't use it, the hotel offers free limo service for dinner...very cool! There is also the onsite restaurant Kristina's which we also didn't go to, but is reviewed well by other patrons. Hard to beat the value and location of this hotel if you're looking to be close to old town Eureka and other nearby attractions.

    « Family visit »

We stay at this hotel for 6 long weekends a year to visit family in the area. It is excellent in all regards from service to the rooms. We really enjoy the indoor spa area that was remodeled. We will continue to stay and would recommend it highly.

    « Wonderful Stay »

We stayed 2 nights here during a trip to see the redwoods and north coast. The hotel is conveniently located off the highway and consists of several buildings. The parking area is somewhat small though and fills quickly. Check-in was quick and the employees friendly and helpful. We had a corner, first floor room. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom is small with a very small shower, no tub. It was nice to have a window in the bathroom. There is an indoor/outdoor pool and a large spa. They have a nice area they call the "Oasis" which has seating around a fire pit. We sat there and relaxed each night and loved it. They offer a free breakfast in a nice room next to the Oasis area with a fireplace and TV. Breakfast items included oatmeal, granola bars, bananas, oranges, apples, cereal, donuts, bagels, bread, English muffins, yogurt, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, make your own waffles, boiled eggs, coffee and juices. We really enjoyed our stay and if we ever visit this area again, we will stay here.

    « predictably good! »

this was our second stay here, last time on a planned road trip. this time we were both under the weather and unable to make the drive all the way home. and since we had a great experience, had no qualms about staying again. it was wonderful. it was pouring down rain when we arrived but warm and cozy in the room. kristina's restaurant around the corner provided a much varied menu and was perfect for what we wanted.. along with scrumptious chocolate cake dessert ;). the bed was terrific, shower amenities great.

    « Bestest »

« If you're looking for a great place to stay in the Redwoods... »

The staff, the facilities, the location, the price, are all great reasons to look no further. You will find everything you have been searching/looking for @ this great hotel. I'm certain there are more upmarket hotels in the area if that is absolutely what you MUST have, but personally I feel you would be foolish to look further than this facility.

« Nice Improvements Over Last Visit »

We have stayed at this place 3 or 4 times over the last several years but this recent visit (Jan 2016) was the best experience. While the staff and rooms have always been nice, the facility has been greatly upgraded with a new huge spa and entertainment area. It is totally enclosed within the walls of the inn so it isolates you from the humdrum locale outside. The spa is really like a large stretched-out kidney shaped pool, not the usual dinky round thing that is easily crowded. It also has rules regarding children so it can be a relaxing, calming experience (we were there on a weeknight). The included breakfast was fine, more than a continental breakfast and nourishing but nothing to brag about (bake your own waffles, fresh fruit, cereal, juices, etc. but also the usual horrible pastries that always seem NOT from a local bakery). The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly; parking was convenient; the rate was good. There are nearby restaurants within walking distance; I recommend Mazotti's Italian.

This is our third time at this Best Western PLUS and it has always been a great experience. This stay was because of a change in route and they were able to take care of us in a really friendly manner.

    « Love this place. »

I have had the pleasure of staying here several times and I always have a GREAT experience. The staff is great, the facilities are wonderful and they even offer a free limo to take you out to dinner. I travel all over the country and this is not your typical Best Western. My only regret is that I didn't bring a swimsuit to try their beautiful new spa! I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Humboldt Area -- for business or on vacation.

    « Satisfied customers »

We were very happy staying one night at this hotel. The manager Mr Chris Ambrosini and his front desk staff Ms Colleen were very helpful, professional, very knowledgeable of the area, really nice visiting with them. Mr. Chris Ambrosini, went out of his way to upgrade us since our room was not ready, that was very nice of him, very appreciative of this. The hotel was very comfortable, clean with very comfortable beds and love the decor. The Oasis area was out of this world. It reminded us of being in some tropical island or Hawaii. Very tastefully done.

    « Surprisingly Good »

First I am not a big Best western fan. I stayed here because it was well recommended and I had not made a reservation. Second when I checked in the hostess was bubbly friendly and informative. It was raining and I did not want to get out for dinner, but she convinced me that I was missing out on a great treat if I did not allow Selena the driver of the hotel limo to take me to one of the excellent local restaurants for dinner. I capitulated and was very glad I did. The rooms were very nice. The common breakfast area and heated spa was very nice In the cold rain. It was covered and heated. Breakfast was the usual but the selection was fresh and plentiful. If all Best Westerns were like this one I would never stay anywhere else.

    « Love the Oasis »

I loved the ambiance of the Oasis spa!! It had a wonderful outside Jacuzzii therapy pool that was out of this world. The staff was wonderful and I plan on using the limo service next time I stay!!!!!!!! WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE

    « Five Star + service! »

This is a fantastic place to stay. The location worried us as it is on a busy intersection. But this also makes it close to everything. We had booked in advance, but when we arrived the hotel did not have our booking. This is because I made a mistake and booked two days early! They could have taken our money for both nights, but instead they immediately gave us a room at the attractive rate that we had originally booked for, with no penalty. Thank you, Stacey!! We were going to a nice restaurant just out of walking distance. Stacey showed us the complimentary hotel limousine (!) and told us to come to the front desk 15 minutes before we wanted to leave. The limo took us to the restaurant and picked us up after dinner. Thank you, Selina!! The hotel was clean, quiet, and everything we could have asked for. We travel up and down the coast a couple of times each year and this will definitely be one of our stopping points!

    5
    « Amazing Oasis »

At check-in we went right to our room. Too bad as we missed out on the wonderful "Oasis" area. We were pleasantly surprised at breakfast as we discovered the indoor/outdoor "Oasis". It felt tropical with an indoor/outdoor pool, spa with a chair lift for the disabled, pool table, exercise machines, fire pit, lounging area and breakfast room. In several years of traveling with Best Western Hotels we have never seen one this nice. BTW, the semi-continental breakfast was very good but we do like to see scrambled eggs and sausage along with the usual dry cereal fare. However, the two waffle makers were put to good use. The room size was normal but there wasn't a lot of room for bags. The king bed was good. The bathroom was clean. The shower was adequate if a bit small and the sink area too was barely enough. It was quiet once the 2nd floor folk calmed down. All in all it was a good bargain. Another perk at this hotel is the stretched limo where the driver will take you to dinner and pick you up afterward, all part of the room fee. I found the staff to be helpful and courteous, the limo driver very much so. I just wish I had been curious enough to seek out the "Oasis" earlier.

    « Birthday in Eureka »

We live just out of town but wanted to a enjoy a birthday dinner and drinks in Eureka and not have to drive, so the Humboldt Bay Inn worked perfectly. They have e free limousine service for patrons to enjoy a night out. But in nicer weather it's walking distance of a just few blocks to Old Town and Down Town. The rooms are set back inside the "compound" so not right on the street making if feel comfortable, convenient and safe. A very nice and comfortable room, great bed and amenities. I will recommend this hotel to visitors.

    5
    « Always the place I stay »

Everyone here is friendly makes you feel welcome. Rooms are great and clean , the breakfast is something I look forward to. The pool area has stuff for all ages to do from swin , soak, shoot some pool or just relax by the fire .

« They Lie About EVERYTHING!!!!! »

So upon arrival we were told the limo ride for dinner was only Mon-Fri. Even tho the limo is outside! Also there Oasis was broken!! The front staff were so rude!!! When I told them the whole reason we paid more to stay in this hotel were for those two reasons she asked if we wanted to stay somewhere else! We are not from the area and I dont like sleeping on hard beds.. So I said no and checked in. My kids where so upset. We dont get to get away that much and everything promised nothing was delivered. Next morning when checking out I asked the kids to look under the bed for there toys and they found old food instead!! Parking also was very limited!

    2
« Rooms for tiny people. »

We waited for over ten minutes to get checked in. I watched another couple get their room upgraded for free as I was waiting. The clerk only looked up once to acknowledge that I was there. Then, when we checked in, I mentioned that I was traveling with a 1-year-old, and she still gave me one of the small king rooms in their hotel. There was hardly any room to put a pack n' play, and the bathroom was so tiny that it did not even have a bathtub-only a closet shower. We chose this hotel over the other Best Western because of the new spa in their pool area. From the motel website, I thought this would be open, but was sorely disappointed to find out that it was not open yet. This was our second time staying here, but I doubt we will be back!

« Good value, small room »

We stayed at this hotel with two small children while on a roadtrip. It is a good value, and expected quality. They have a nice outdoor patio area next to the pool with firepits, etc. and the continental breakfast was better than average (hot waffle maker). The room was clean, except the bathroom was a worn looking (grout needed cleaning). The hotel is right on the edge of Eureka's historic district, and they offer a free shuttle service (a limo, actually) to take you out to dinner and pick you up.

    « Nice place »

We spent one night here. The common areas around the pool & lobby are really nice. The buildings housing guest rooms seem much older and more worn. Mostly clean, but well worn. Breakfast was excellent, and the hotel is near downtown restaurants, shops, etc. Our room felt a bit dated, but had everything we needed. We traveled during a busy season, and I felt the rate we paid was a bit high for what we got, but I would stay here again.

« EUREKA! I have found the Most superb hotel! »

Came across this amazing hotel while relocating from Southern California to Washington. We needed a place to stay while on our journey and found this in our AAA guide book, WOW were we impressed. Best Westerns in general are very nice hotels but this one was beautiful, the front desk associate was just SOOOOOO nice and invited us to take the hotels FREE limo to dinner, we were excited about that. The room was beautiful, and was a smoking room, this room had an air purifier so it did not stink, not the way most smoking rooms smell. the beds were like sleeping on a cloud. The limo driver was also amazing gave us excellent recommendation for restaurant. when she picked us up she then gave us a our around Eureka, it was amazing, and i highly recommend this hotel.

    « Very Nice Hotel »

This hotel was very nice. My room was updated with a BIG tile shower and a comfy bed. The pool, spa and breakfast area are very nice! « Taffys, limos, pools ... wow »

Room was great. Staff was friendly, informative, and prompt. The swimming pools were inviting but we did not indulge. We sat by the fire and shot some pool. Some kids were running around on the floor above us during the night -- a mild disturbance. The limo ride around town (Mon-Fri only I think) was the icing on the cake.

« Second time there, even better! »

I've stayed here before, and thought it was tremendous, but now they've completely redone the spa area. It's called the Oasis, and has an outdoor fireplace and an outdoor gas firepit. Plus, the same great service as before.

A regular Best Western Plus, but spend the evening in the Oasis relaxation area. The tiki torch lit luxury hot tub area is very cool. It includes an open gas fireplace for chilly evenings, a large fabulous hot tub that changes colour and has jumping blue lights in water fountains built in! All new and very nicely done, a great place to relax. Truly a little oasis on highway 101!

« The best place to stay close to old town »

This Best Western Plus has made some major improvements in the last year. While the rooms are nice and extremely clean this location has made some major investments in their customer experience regarding the enclosed Spa. You will not find a more inclusive place to stay on the north coast. AND they have complimentary limousine service, the driver will complimentary take you to dinner drop you off and pick you up, I suggest you tip well. Your stay here is worth more than what you will pay

We were traveling from Oregon down Highway 101 and needed a place to stay in Eureka. We would usually stay in the Marriott chain but there wasn't a Marriott in this area. We had stayed in Best Westerns 20+ years ago so we decided to pick a Best Western to stay at. While on the road, we called to book at the Best Western Bayshore Inn in Eureka. The person at the call center said that this Best Western was 2 miles from the town center and we wanted to be near a restaurant so he noted the Humboldt Bay was right in the heart of the downtown/oldtown area of Eureka so that sounded like a better situation for us so we booked the Humboldt Bay. From the moment we arrived we regretted our decision. First of all, it is situated directly between the Highway 101 Northbound 3 lane street and the Highway 101 Southbound 3 lane Street. So you have a highway going on both sides of the hotel at all times. Secondly, although there is ample parking, we found the parking/driveway setup to be cumbersome. We drove in via the Southbound 101 entrance. We drove to the Registration Desk and the only way to leave the Registration desk is to go back out onto Northbound 101 and drive back around to the Southbound 101 entrance. You could probably swing a U-turn after the registration but there were cars driving in from the Northbound side so that didn't work. Also, they had a limousine parked in the Registration area which only fits two cars so the front of the limo limited the U turn possibility. Anyway, the parking/driveway area is a tight fit and there is limited or no room for turnaround etc. Thirdly, the room was dark, dreary, dingy, and dated. Even with all the lights in the room on, it was dark in the room. The bathroom had great lights so we kept them on but that didn't help much. We did not want to walk on the carpet in bare feet so we kept our shoes on the entire time when walking in the room. There were ants in the bathroom as well. The room was spacious enough and you could tell the housekeeping did a good job of making it look nice but we just felt uncomfortable in the room. Fourthly, it was nice that they had a pool/spa/fitness room/sit around fireplace/breakfast inner court area but it was strangely configured and not enough room for all the activities that could take place there. In fairness, we arrived just before dark and did make use of the "oasis" but we would not have wanted to anyway. Fifthly, after arriving, we wanted to check out any local restaurants and to get some walking in after a long drive. After darting across the highway toward the water, we were instantly in a run down port industrial area. We immediately because cautious, looking both ways because it was empty of any activity. There were a number of interesting people out and about in groups of 2 or 3 and so we walked very cautiously. We made it to the water and we were even more concerned as it was even more desolate. We finally walked toward the "old town" where there was one store open which provided lights etc. but at 5 pm on a Sunday, there was no activity and we headed back to the Inn. The entire walk was not a pleasant experience at all. On the way out we did drive by the Best Western Bayshore Inn. There is no doubt that the Bayshore would have been the place for us to stay. It was newer. It was directly across from a mall and many other business/restaurants etc. The Bayshore had a large open parking area, had lots of lighting and businesses and it wasn't grungy like the downtown area. It was just better situated for our needs. However, when you call the Best Western call center, there is no way they could give you that information. We were travelling in the redwoods and had no internet to check reviews. We are sorry to post such a negative experience, but for anyone travelling who likes nicer accommodations, we would not recommend the Humboldt Bay Inn. The Bayshore Inn was actually less expensive and you get a better area/situation for that price. You can always walk to the water even from there or drive 2-3 minutes to get there. We would also consider the Holiday Inn Express which also looked new and nicely situated.

    « Predictably Great »

My wife and I stayed at HBI in late August and enjoyed our night in the Emerald Suite and the new Oasis area of the hotel. This area was recently converted from a parking lot to an awesome, huge hot tub with jets and a rock waterfall, propane heat trees, tiki torches and propane fire pits. This hot tub area is in addition to the existing large, heated, outdoor pool and hot tub. I'm combining this review with a 2 night work related stay because I remembered to take pics of The Oasis this trip. This business trip was on short notice and 10 of us shared 5 double queen rooms. Several of us are returning customers and we don't stay anywhere else when visiting or working in the area. We didn't have time to hit the hot tubs or pool but we did hop a ride in the complimentary limo for dinner at Lost Coast Brewery. This is a predictably great place to stay, it's very clean and the staff goes out of their way to make sure your stay is remarkable.

« Humboldt Bay Inn, Eureka »

This is a great place to stay. The rooms are always clean and the staff is great. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Eureka. The breakfast is great and the new Hot tub is awesome. The only bad thing I can say is the parking is terrible when they are busy. But it still would not keep me from staying there.

    « Clean and Comfortable »

Very satisfied with my stays at this hotel. It is always clean and the decor is nice. They have an Oasis for guests that includes a spa and tiki torches. Nice touches throughout the establishment and I will continue to stay here on my annual trips to the north coast.

« Interesting facility, ok location »

This hotel isn't in the greatest of locations, a semi-industrialized area maybe 1/2 mile from downtown. The facility itself is very good with nice amenities for this range of hotel. The outdoor "oasis" would have been enticing with its spa and pool if the weather had been warmer. We liked our room. The windows opened. The bathroom was small but very well laid out with good towel rod. The shower (no tub) was nice, but didn't have any place to put a shampoo bottle or razor except the floor. The refrigerator was very noisy, but we didn't need it and could turn it off. We slept well; it was quiet at night. Breakfast was only fair of kind: whole fruit, toast, cereal, heat-your-own sausage sandwiches (ugh).

    « Beautiful facility »

Hotel has a large courtyard area with swimming pool and hot tub. Outdoor heaters were available in many of the sitting areas. It was a nice place to relax and was also available for the morning breakfast.

« Very nice pool area. Not so nice Rooms. »

I heard that they remodeled the pool area. The pool area was very nice, they put in a new waterfall spa hot tub. Very relaxing. They have another pool that was a good size and perfect for families. Even had a basketball hoop in it... super fun. My room on the other hand was below average. Had a bad odor to it, very outdated. Needs to be remodeled and perhaps new bedding.

    « Just Passing Trrough... »

We had reserved a room here because it was centrally located and on the main street as we just needed an overnight during a road trip. Good thing we reserved because this place seems to be very popular. Rooms are large and clean, the facility has several wings that are spread apart enough to keep noise at a minimum, plus access from the street is tightly controlled. The common facilities, pool jacuzzi, rec room, outdoor firepit, etc, were clean and well maintained. The complimentary continental breakfast in the morning was well attended but perhaps some thought could be given to improving the traffic pattern. All in all we would certainly stay there again.

    « Lovely spa/pool area »

I have to disagree withe other reviews about this motel. We found the receptionists to be rather rude and unhelpful. We had booked a room with bath but were given a shower and when we went back to rectify this the receptionist was unhelpful although did agree to change our room in the end. Also when I was talking to her the phone rang and without a word of apology she cut me dead and answered the phone! A customer care course may be in order. Our room was rather dark an over looked the carpark. However the spa and pool area were superb and most unexpected as the motel is in an industrial area. The breakfast was nice but not as good as the other Best Western places we stayed in on our trip. It was nice to have laundry facilities

    « Pleasant Surprise »

Our first visit to Humboldt Bay Inn was by default. I accidently booked the wrong Best Western online. It was such a great mistake that I booked another stay! From the outside you wouldn't guess what great amenities are on the inside. It is the little things that impressed me such as two luggage holders in the room (one suitcase didn't have to be on the floor), a small shelf in the bathroom to hold travel kits to free up counter space, the pool/spa area late in the evening being well kept with fresh full size towels available. Not the case at other establishments. And wait until you see the new Oasis they have put in. A gorgeous tropical setting with Tiki torches and an oversized spa with waterfalls and special lighting. Gas fireplaces and a gas fire pit accent the patio area adorned with comfortable seating. Great place to relax with a glass of wine. Complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate is available if you wish. We have already booked our 3rd stay at Humboldt Bay Inn.

pool, jacuzzi , area. I've never seen anything like this. Quiet. ...great location. Carson Mansion just down the street, so is Old town. Shops all around the hotel are quaint. Historic buildings are well kept.

Nice hotel. Really comfy beds & pillows, clean, good breakfast options, nice people. Had a little problem with a dirty towel left on floor in room and missing pillow case upon our arrival but one call to reception and all was fixed immediately.

« BEST PLACE TO RELAX »

The staff are more than helpful, and super FRIENDLY. This Best Western Plus location has the most beauitful OASIS area which is the pool/jacuzzi area. It is to die for. They have fireplaces, firepits, huge jacuzzi, pool, smaller hot tub attached to the side is a fitness center with a MASSAGE chair inside...BEST PLACE TO RELAX your muscle after long TRAVELS....

« One of the best western I have been in. »

This Best Western should be the standard for all Best Western Hotels and I suggest to the other BW hotels to go there and spend a night and take notice. From the SMILING reception upon arrival (not always the case in other hotels) to the outstanding breakfast with FRESH ingredients to the departure experience ( with another happy face) the entire stay was flawless. I certainly will be back when I go down south. I am a Platinum member and go to a lot of hotels (18 in the last 20 days). This one was the best.

    « Retirement Party Stay »

It was a pleasure being greeted by Selena the limo driver that had just pulled up. Was also welcomed by the guest services at the desk by name from past stay. Took limo down to Old Town Eureka for a nice dinner at one of the local restraint. Had a nice walk back to work off desert which was only a couple blocks. The new spa area called the OASIS was very nice. Got up in the morning to a wonderful hot waffle for breakfast.

« Not a good place to stay »

In a bad run-down part of town. No bathtub. Worse yet, there was a mouse/rat between the walls behind the bed. was chewing/scratching all night for two nights straight. Will not stay in this hotel anymore, and will tell friends and co-workers the same.

    « Great remodel »

They keep remodeling and the Oasis really adds to the hotel. Gas fire pit, large hot tub and nice spot to just sit and relax. Good hotel for. The price for what you get is excellent. Very nice breakfast, friendly staff and clean.

    « Best Best Western »

This has to be the best Best Western I've come across. Spacious room, large and very comfortable bed, microwave and fridge in the room, nice toiletries. There is a pool, hot tub and heated outdoor seating area and a very nice breakfast room. Starbucks is about a 10 minute walk straight up the road and there is a Wendy's and Grocery Market a 5 minute walk in the other direction. Incredibly friendly staff.

« Excellent for the price »

All the amenities really make this place special. My ground-floor room was huge, with a nice separate bathroom (with great water pressure) and nice toiletries. Super-fast Wi-Fi! The property has a pool/jacuzzi, a pool table, a decently-equipped workout room (lots of free-weights), and a nice morning breakfast. The whole experience was very pleasant, especially considering the going rate. I didn't use their local free limo service, but I bet that would have been the icing on the cake.

« Nice motel, but read fine print »

This was a great hotel. Very clean and my room was nice and quiet. Breakfast was pretty good, especially the local bakery fresh donuts that melt in your mouth. My only real qualm was that on the Best Western website it lists one of the extras for staying here is a free stretch limo shuttle service to restaurants in town. This was the main reason I spent the extra to stay here. When I got there I discovered that there are stipulations on this "free" service. It wasn't available on the day I stayed. No where on the website did it say there were any days this was not available. Only when I looked into my hotel book they give in each room did the fine print appear. It is only available mon-sat in summer and mom-fri in the winter/fall. I stayed on a Sunday. A little bummed to say the least because this was probably my only chance to ever ride in a limo. Otherwise, it was a great hotel , but that kind of overshadowed the stay for me. If the website would have listed this info I would have had a better stay knowing before I got there that this was not available for me.

« Best Western Humboldt Bay Inn »

The best Best Western that we have ever stayed. We have stayed in more than 50 Best Western hotels. The SPA and Pool area is almost like being in Hawaii. Eureka is beautiful city with a lot to do, the (Blue Ox) museum The Dunes with a walk on the ocean beach, kite flying and a must see is a walk through" OLD Town" Eureka. This is a must stop if your driving the California coast.

« Now, this is how to run a hotel! »

Can't speak highly enough about this terrific hotel, made so good by the consistently high quality of the management and staff and the exceptionally high level of customer care. From the moment you arrive here it presents as a very welcoming, friendly hotel. The excellent facilities include a lovely, relaxing patio area and a good fitness centre. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped and the breakfast was excellent. The staff are more than happy to not just recommend bars and restaurants in the nearby historic centre but to take you there and collect you in the hotel's own limo! This is how to run a hotel. Excellent!

    « 2 queens are less than a King.... »

Very cramped room with 2 queen beds. Don't know what a King compares in room size. Bathroom is small, but serves its need. The front desk is very nice and makes you feel welcome. Haven't stayed any where else in Eureka, so I can't compare this place to another. Felt secure with cameras everywhere, but don't have the Jimmy Dean egg, sausage, cheese muffin for breakfast. Eat the fresh stuff, must better. Overall, not bad.

    « Great Memories »

We picked this hotel due to having stayed at Best Westerns in the past. Upon arriving here we were surprised to find even more great things about this location than we realized were here. From the very friendly staff to the incredible Tiki area with the huge hot tub and waterfalls along with the complementary Limo that is available, and yes we used it, this Hotel far surpassed anything that we could or did hope for. If anyone is passing through or staying for a vacation, this is one place that should be checked out.

    « Humboldt Bay Inn »

This was our third stay at the Humboldt Bay Inn. The pool area is of particular interest because it lends a semi-resort atmosphere to the facility. The pool and Jacuzzi were both clean and of an appropriate temperature. A really NICE perk for the motel was the complimentary limo service. This was very useful as parking in the evening can get tight and the streets are not as well lit as one might expect. So, the limo and very courteous driver were a big plus for our stay.
