« My favorite place to stay in Edmonton.... without doubt. »

I first checked in really late 11-16-16. The price is a little higher than I paid at other best westerns but by the 3 night they worked out a better price. Then when work carried me a little further south they lowered the price so I would stay and I did. I am checking out tomorrow 11-28-16 so after 13 nights here I can say THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY IF YOUR IN EDMONTON... The staff makes is a top hotel, even the housekeepers are helpful and not to mention the breakfast host. She is on top of her game no matter how many kids crowd the bar and raid it clean... she is on the spot and has everything refilled. The pool... just totally cool especially for kids, my kids are mad for not coming with me now. The location is the next best thing. Easy access to any direction. I worked all over the whole area and hate to leave this hotel but job is moving much further south. Oh yeah the Denny's across the parking lot is the best Denny's in North America.... The Chop restaurant....is totally amazing and also across the parking lot not to forget Royal Pizza. There is another restaurant across the street but never went there.. Denny's had me at least 8 times. No matter what i needed this hotel provided, and did I mention the location is great. This area does not have the traffic problems the other Best Westerns further in town have and only 40 min or less to everywhere I needed to go all over the whole area. I will be back here this summer and plan to bring my family. I have a New member in my top 5 BW's world wide.

    « Wonderful experience »

Upon checking into the hotel for a weekend trip, we learned we were upgraded from a standard room to a king suite with jacuzzi. This was a wonderful surprise! The room was big, clean, and quiet. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was in great condition. Breakfast was a very typical continental breakfast, and had decent variety. We would hands down stay here again, even if we just get a regular room.

« Great place to Stay »

Great place to stay, Location is convenient as you enter town, Free Breakfast is great with a lot of different options, which does include many Gluten free options, having that is a great start to your day, and not many other places have that. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

    « Normal B/W »

You know what you're going to get staying here......... It's what Best Western is known for, clean comfortable good sized rooms and the standard continental breakfast. The staff was friendly and courteous. Good restaurants within walking distance.

« Good hotel for sport teams and Families »

This is a good hotel for Sports teams and families, Sadly not business travel. this property should not have the plus label. There is no Glassware available, breakfast consists of highly processed foods, stale pastries and over ripe fruit.

    5
« Great location for overnight in Edmontonb »

Stayed here to be close the airport (12 minutes). Choice of food within walking distance - chophouse, pizza, and Denny's, shopping within a short driving distance (less than 12 minutes), and has hot tub and gym and breakfast. What more could you need? And the price was excellent. Thank you.

    « Business stay »

Total stay was for 3 days in total. Check in was easy and friendly. Pool was available with kids playing in it. The room was very clean. Breakfast was complimentary. Lots of choices and good to eat. I would stay again.

    4
    « Quite Nice »

Stayed here for just one night as a "mini vacation". We were happy with the jacuzzi/whirlpool room. The king size bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Next time I would ask for a room not facing the highway as we did hear highway noise at night, even with the window closed. The breakfast was very nice and had plenty of food and seating for guests.

    « Accommodating Staff »

Our sports team recently stayed at this Hotel. We had a very early morning game and were appreciative that arrangements were made for staff members to come in early to open the breakfast for us. The hotels rooms were comfortable and the kids enjoyed the pool and waterslide. Overall, a good choice!

    « anniversary break »

we stayed in Edmonton for our 50th anniversary and although we did not tell any one we could not have had a more pleasant stay that we received. the facility was excellent. the assistance that was provided by front count staff in places to go and eat was greatly appreciated.

    « Nice but pricy »

They are more then Stoney plain but offer a less. However they have a nice pool and hot tub, they have a large selection for breakfast. The beds are comfy and they offer many different sizes of rooms.

    3
« Not so good this time around »

I am not sure but the last three times I have stayed here they have no face cloths in the room. Do not know if this is the new thing or not but the only hotel I had stayed at like this. The room was clean except for one of the bath towels was stained from a previous use and luckily I caught it before I put it to my face. I let the front desk know and I get the typical canned response. " I will let housekeeping know" I am sorry but that does no good to the situation. I am not sure I will be staying here again.

    3
    « Nice hotel but »

This was a nice hotel to stay in but the room had no hot water for the first night. I told the hotel staff and they sent maintenance. They fixed the sink tap water but the shower was cold then very very hot for the last 3 nights we stayed there. I did tell the front staff each night and when I asked if it was fixed they didn't seem to know what had gone on. The hotel staff were friendly and tried to help. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The water slide was the biggest hit for the kids. We went for the waterslide. I don't think I would stay here again as it was quite out of the way for me.

    5
« Very, very convenient highway access »

Excellent motel, at high Best Western standard. Front desk people very helpful. Parking very convenient (once you get past the crowded lobby entrance area). I especially like this motel as it is easy to reach off the highway coming from Calgary (turn east on Ellerslie Road), and easy to get on to the Henday ring road around the city. The area has several similar motels, but not a lot of restaurants, just a Denny's (better than nothing) and a White Spot. So maybe this is not the best area if you need more than basic food. There is a good store attached to a service station a couple of blocks away with good sandwiches.

    1
    « Cold Showers, couldn't accomodate »

Showers were ice cold. If they warmed up, they would go cold again while you were showering. And by warm I mean tepid. Called maintenance and got a lesson on which part of the dial was warm and which was cold. Booked and requested joined rooms online. Called and verbally requested same (just to be sure). Got here, they had us on two different floors! Now they can't accommodate. Great. Travelling with young children. This has ruined our "family" vacation.

    4
« Great Location off HWY 2 and Calgary Trail »

This is another great Best Western property. The staff is as always exceptional. This hotel is older and has been upgraded. It is not quite as fantastic as other properties, but still very comfortable large rooms. Very nice finishings. The pool and hot tub were nice. The pool area could be warmer. The TVs in the room need to be larger, but I was not there to watch the tv so not a big issue. This is a very convenient location if you are coming from the South as you are right off HWY 2 with easy access to the Anthony Henday and Calgary Trail. There are lots of restaurants and you are very close to South Edmonton Common. The hotel also has compiled a very helpful list of delivery restaurants etc... in each room. They have a nice continental breakfast with amazing pancakes. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

    4
    « Wonderful Winter(!) Weekend »

Barring the COLD shower water at the pool/hot tub area, this was a very delightful week end stay. Would definitely stay again. Room was very clean, bright and airy. Bed and couch were comfortable and no noise discerned until we heard a baby crying while we walked down the hall. Breakfast was as expected plus there were numerous other dining locations nearby to allow a choice.

    3
« Quick Trip to Edmonton »

Decent business hotel with many dining options in the area. Good value compared to the other properties nearby. Excellent front desk staff. Room was clean and the bed very comfortable. TV was on the small side compared to what you normally have.

    4
« Decent place for decent price »

I'll give this place a 4 out of 5 stars. It is perfect for the budget minded business traveler who requires perfect internet and a location situated for easy travel around the city of Edmonton. Those looking for value for money will not be disappointed with this hotel.

    4
« Great hotel for family get away »

All around wonderful hotel...good sized rooms, comfortable bed, good breakfast. Had a great time with the kids. The swimming pool could have been a little warmer, but, the waterslide was a hit with the kids.

« Comfortable stay, yummy breakfast »

After a full day of shopping and playing in WEM World Waterpark, our family of 4 found cozy comfort @Best Western Plus South Edmonton. We opted to go there instead of a location closer to WEM due to positive ratings. Breakfast was comprehensive, with hot items and cereal/muffins offered. I'd like to see HD TV service instead of SD in this day and age, all things considered, as the Ryder Cup and NFL Sunday would have been more enjoyable in HD.

    4
    « Had a good night »

Comfortable bed, had a restful and quiet sleep, enjoyed the free breakfast. The staff were friendly and welcoming. And all of this for a good price. What more can you ask for? We had a much needed nights sleep on our way to northern Alberta for a family funeral. Close to the places we wanted to visit and easy access to major roadways for the ones we had to travel to.

    4
    « Davis trip »

I found the hotel and amenities excellent. I also discovered a fabulous restaurant next door called CHOP. If you haven't been there make certain that you try it and enjoy the lobster, scallop cheese dip. To die for.

    5
« Great place for families! »

In my opinion, this is the best hotel in Edmonton for families. It has a free breakfast, large rooms with fridge and microwave and a wonderful swimming pool with waterslide. Everything is clean and well maintained.

    5
« This is an excellent Hotel »

This is a very clean Hotel. The full breakfast was great. Staff was very helpful and accommodating for our wedding party of 12. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for one in south Edmonton. Easy access to Anthony Henday as well so easy to get to West Edmonton Mall.

    3
    « NOt bad »

I didnt mind our stay here. I was coming in from Ontario. Me and my fam, speedy checkout and front desk people were friendly. We just stayed in our room and left. Dated rooms tho. They do have the roomkey to get on the elevator..I like that for safety reasons. :)

    3
    « Needs maintenance »

Very dirty Jacuzzi and bed was falling apart. Pool was out of service so we decided to let the kiddo play in the Jacuzzi instead. Good thing I carry Lysol wipes as it needed a major cleaning first. The bed foam layer was falling out of the side of the bed. This hotel needs maintenance and the cleaning staff could use some training upgrading.

    5
    « Highly recommended »

Nice newer built hotel, room is spacious and clean. Their breakfast is awesome and delicious. Great security protection as you need your key card to access your floor, room and all hotel facilities. Unfortunately the pool was closed during our stay due to maintenance. And one of the computer in business center is not working. Overall we had a great experience staying in the hotel and definitely will come back.

« No peace and quiet! No relaxing, never returning »

I was disgusted from the moment I checked in. I was warned to get to the breakfast room before the sports team who was staying did at 7:30am so that meant no sleeping in for me while I was finally away alone without my kids for a change and could've actually slept in for a change. There were people literally running up and down my hallway numerous times passed midnight, oh and no HOT TUB to relax in as it was yellow taped without any previuos warnings of being broke down when I checked in,. I asked for express check out which I didn't receive and had to waste time checking out which almost left me late for my meeting because the front desk clerk was in training and no supervisor was there to help assist her. My toilet ran all night loudly I was somewhat compensated for my toilet with a small discount, the pool was also closed.

    « Kids birthday party »

We had a fantastic stay at The Best Western, last night! I hosted 6 little girls (age 8&9) the room was clean and there was plenty of room. We played in the pool which the kids had a blast in, and enjoyed a great breakfast this morning! Thanks for having us! Great staff!

« Comfortable stay at the Best Western »

We had a nice stay here. The room was very clean and nicely laid out. We had a king bed, with a small living room area (couch, sofa chair, coffee table), as well as a small kitchen area with a fridge and microwave etc. The kids enjoyed the pool area which has a waterslide and a hot tub too. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was great, lots of selection and great coffee. The hotel is minutes from lots of outlet malls & ikea if you are in to shopping, as well as many restaurants to choose from. Overall the hotel was clean and comfortable. A good Best Western experience.

    5
« Quiet hotel and excellent front desk staff »

I booked this hotel for the easy location. We booked a room that had a sitting area - so we had plenty of room to visit with friends. Our stay was during the Fort Mac Murray fire when they evacuated the entire city. Our hotel was completely full and you could not hear any noise in the other rooms or in the hallways. Beds and pillows were comfy and having a hot breakfast included was perfect. My mom always appreciates the coffee pot available to use in the room. Definitely will stay at this hotel again.

    4
« A new hotel ideal for Airport. »

The hotel is on a site with other hotels around. Restaurants are also a bit limited, although we were staying for 3 nights and found one for each night without travelling. The hotel itself is ideal for children as it has a pool with a water slide. The staff were efficient. So was the house keeping. The room was spacious and clean and had clean towels each day. We had tea and coffee making. Had a king size bed which was comfortable. Breakfast, we didn't think was included but was pleasantly surprised. It was busy and some days a bit of a bun fight to get breakfast. It had the usual breakfast things. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast etc. Drinks. Yogurts and cakes. If there has to be a downside then it's location. The hotel is on an industrial estate that sells cars. But ideal if you are coming from or to the airport. It was ideal for us as we were going on to Calgary and we were ideally placed to get to the highway.

    4
    « Just checked out! »

A typical Best Western, almost everything was up to my standards and expectations. Rooms were clean and comfortable. There were some kids running in a hall way around 11pm but that was it. Nothing to complain.

    4
    « Good Family Hotel »

The one king room was clean and spacious. All the staff were pleasant, the young lady working in the breakfast room especially. There breakfast was a little above hotel standard and nicely presented. The bed was comfortable and the only thing that disturbing my chance to sleep in was a thunderstorm which is hard to blame on the hotel. Check out time is noon but they started vacuuming the halls at 9:01 making you feel like you should get moving. It was probably not the best choice for me on this trip. I was looking for a mini break with some shopping after bringing my son to Edmonton to attend university. The hotel has a pool and waterslide, so even midweek, there were a number of families. At least one on my floor decided that the kids should have races in the hall (not the hotels fault but something that I should have thought about since it is common in hotels with pools and waterslides). Also the TV was quite small and the remote was quirky and required a very direct line of sight to work at all. There is a comfortable chair to relax in with a foot stool but you have to move it right beside the bed to have some where to rest your glass of wine. A small end table would have been really nice. Overall it is a fine hotel, most suited to families.

    4
« Only problem was the tv »

Only issue with our stay was there was no volume on the tv. Not a huge issue, but stopped it from being 5 star. My kids loved the water slide and we put in a solid 6 hours per day there for the two days we stayed. Clean rooms, good breakfast and staff was nice.

    4
    « Family Wedding »

We arrived to a very friendly greeting after easily finding the hotel just off the main highway. It was an easy drive into the city to do some exploring. Choices for where to dine were plentiful with many good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The room was large and very clean. The beds quite comfortable and lots of closet space with plenty of hangers. Always a plus with me. Free hot breakfast each morning was a great perk. I would stay here again.

    4
« Great hotel for the price »

We've stayed here twice for a few days each, even though it's located on the south side, you're a hop skip and a jump to all the main arteries. We went to West Edmonton Mall twice and it was only about 20 mins drive. Hotel is clean, beds a comfy, it's been very busy both times, but it didn't bother us or hinder us in any way. We'll stay here again whenever we visit family in Edmonton.

    4
    « Definitely next time »

We stayed here the first night when we arrived in Edmonton and arrived late due to lost luggage, but that was not any problem. We had an excellent sleep and when we arrived for breakfast the next morning we were the first to eat. The breakfast-room was clean, there were plenty breads to choose from, white bread, wheat, pancakes, cupcakes, eggs, juices and great coffee. Unfortunately our son forgot his teddy bear when we checked out. Lucky for us, I had made reservations for the same hotel 4 weeks later, so I emailed the hotel. I received an email back and during our next stay they kept the bear for us. I really appreciate good service like this. Overall, a great stay. Good beds and a nice breakfast and friendly staff. Next time I definitely will book a room again at this hotel.

    5
    « Would recommend! »

We had a great stay! Easy access to highway and restaurants. Very quiet and clean. We really enjoyed the hot breakfast room in the morning before we left for the day. My only complaint is that during our 2 night stay the hot tub wasn't working and after long days shopping wanted to soak our sore feet. Besides that everything was fantastic and we'd stay again!

  • 4
    « Typical hotel »

No complaints - pretty much exactly what you expect from a Best Western. Room was clean and quiet for a reasonable rate. The breakfast was actually surprisingly good for this type of hotel. A solid stay for someone not wanting to go into the city or just passing through for a night.

    4
« Very nice but no restaurant »

This hotel is excellent, modern, clean, with very friendly staff. The housekeeping is immaculate. They have a business centre and an indoor pool, but no restaurant. They provide breakfast, but it is such a small breakfast area for such a large hotel it's ridiculous. We went once and walked back out because it was so crowded and not much choice for foods. That's why I only put 4 stars. Everything else about the hotel was great and we stayed there 6 nights. They made us feel very much at home providing extra towels and such. The king-size bed was comfy with lots of pillows, and they had good satellite TV - not that we were there to watch it much. The hotel is situated in a convenient location and very easy to get in and out of driving even as people who aren't familiar with Edmonton. The fridge included a little freezer, important for someone who suffers from migraines. A lot of hotels fridges don't contain a freezer, a real inconvenience for someone who may need an emergency ice-cold freezer pack in the middle of the night. So this was a plus for me.

    4
    « Nice »

Me and my mother stayed there for one night after we had driven for eight hours from Dawson Creek to Edmonton. It was the first address where we went to ask for a room. The man at the desk was friendly and the check-in was uncomplicated. The rooms were bigger than I had expected. Everything was tidy and clean. In addition the price was ok too. In the morning you could get a breakfast for around 10 dollars. The portions were really generous. I almost failed to eat everything but it was so good l had to eat it.

    5
« Nice, clean and very friendly staff »

typical Best Western breakfast selection. A little bit for everyone. Very clean hotel and very friendly staff always asking if we need anything else and to feel free to ask them if we need anything. Coffee available all day. Close to restaurants and only 15 min from downtown. Close to shopping. Very reasonable price. Very large rooms. Bathroom a little small. Pool and water slide.

    3
    « Clean, Comfortable, Average »

Stayed one night in a King Suite. Make sure you ask for a room away from the highway as I could hear highway traffic from my room at the highway end of the building. I should have considered that when I booked the suite however...I obviously didn't do the research. The room was average with enough space and adequate average furniture for a suite. Low end coffee maker, no box of tissue to be found, comfortable bed and linen. Breakfast was crowded, average quality. Not recommended, (breakfast), I would have went elsewhere had I known and planned my time better. Overall, far better accommodation available for the same price point for the regular traveller. Good location for south side of city, easy access to Anthony Henday and Highway 2.

    4
    « Top Notch staff »

Stayed at the hotel on a long weekend - July 29 - Aug 1. Hotel was busy but staff never seemed frazzled or hurried. Were always polite and efficient. Very professional. Have stayed at this hotel many times before but had never used the pool in the past - we did this time. What a blast. The water slide is amazing. A definite for families that want to be close to shopping, the airport and have fun.

    5
« Good value for stay in Edmonton south side »

Very clean, nice staff and newer hotels in Edmonton on the south side that is affordable with a great pool, internet and breakfast included. Right off the #2 hwy so easy access from Calgary or the Airport (just 15 min away) and fast to get to shopping Edmonton South Common.

    4
« Comfortabe and enjoyable stay »

Aside from not wanting an access room plus issues stemming from such a room, we enjoyed the rest of the room. Very spacious and most comfortable bed. Clean room and wonderful front desk staff. Great complementary breakfast with croissants and automatically generated fresh pan cakes.

    5
« First time in alberta »

The best hotel we had during our stay in Alberta. Thanks to Mary Anne, Melanie, and the staff in the breakfast room for being so friendly and accomodating! Very clean room and complete ammenities. Very affordable price!!

    5
« Great location and accommodations »

We stayed here for 3 nights and found it clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and variety changed a little every day. Our boys loved the pool. Although a little out of the city centre, it was still only 15-20 mins away from the attractions we wanted to visit.

  • 5
« Clean Rooms, Great Atmosphere »

This clean and affordable hotel is conveniently located even if it is outside of downtown. Relatively short drives to both the airport and West Edmonton Mall, the neighbourhood it finds itself is not terribly exciting in itself, but feels safe and is mostly quiet even with the close proximity to the highway. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and the fact that it just looks like very well-kept hotel for a very reasonable price. Breakfast was also great quality and had a decent selection, along with a pancake printing machine that we still fondly remember.

    5
    « Always Great »

Not my first time staying here or bringing one of my teams. Organized. Efficient. Great location. The Royal Pizza next door has been amazing and the meatball lasagna didn't disappoint. Always look forward to my trips to Edmo and when I'm there, this hotel is my only choice.

    4
    « Good value »

Clean room..good breakfast ..close for those going to Ikea..good price for the room. The reception was accommodating and efficient. This hotel is worth a stay, nice and quiet. If you are doing business in the south end of Edmonton this is the place to try,you won't be disappointed.

    3
« Great location and Great Staff »

Staff very pleasant and accommodating!! Got us into our room early and provided us with a few items we had forgotten. Great location and love the Royal Pizza restaurant located right in the parking lot. It was very yummy and convenient. Only complaint was thermostat in room. Room was very hot when we arrived and had to play with thermostat to get it to work. Once it was working, the room was either too hot or too cold, no in between. Kids loved the pool and waterslide; could use some decorating in the pool area; seemed very sterile but still fun.

    5
« An amazing value for the quality! »

We had a 2 night stay in Edmonton and our first night was unfortunately not stayed at this Best Western. My fiance and I drove across country to Alaska and had stayed in a hotel almost every single night. Our first night in Edmonton, we hadn't come across this Best Western Plus and stayed at a different hotel. Not only was this the best value of a hotel, but the most accommodating and friendliest. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding. The service was professional and not overbearing. We were elated with our second night in Edmonton and hope to stay here again when we visit Edmonton again.

    5
    « Location »

The location of this hotel was perfect. The professional staff and the cleanliness of the facility was appreciated. The breakfast bar had limited protein options, as I would have liked to had bacon as a choice. We were pleasantly surprised when they upgraded our room to a jacuzzi suite free of charge when we arrived.

    5
    « Perfect for Families »

This Best Western offers a complimentary hot breakfast, free Wifi, a fitness centre, a pool with a waterslide and the beds were super comfortable....this hotel definitely meet the needs for everyone in my family!!

    4
    « A Near Perfect Stay »

We were very happy with our choice of hotel, spoiled only by two complaints listed below. The hotel was in an ideal location for us; close to the highway and our destination. Our room was oversized, clean and modern but the closet was much too small - not wide enough to hang up a folding garment bag and use the hangers. Another small complaint was how complicated it was to operate the TV, getting it going by good luck rather than logic. Also, the picture quality was poor.

    4
    « Pleasant Stay »

This was our second stay in 3 months at this Best Western and we enjoyed it again. We had a couple of difficulties but they were not so bad that we couldn't see past them. However the desk chair seat was not acceptable and needs to be replaced. The breakfast was good and presented very nicely. A good selection of items was provided. We were only minutes away from a massive shopping area as well as all popular restaurants.

    5
« Great place to stay »

We stayed 2 nights here in room 222. Staff at front desk very friendly and helpful. Room was a good size with king size bed. Microwave and fridge in room. Hotel has waterslide and pool. Hot tub was broken during our stay but that was no problem to us. Breakfast had hot and cold selections. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

    « Always a great stay. »

We always enjoy this hotel when visiting Edmonton. It feels like coming home. The desk staff, housekeeping and breakfast room staff are always very friendly. We have stayed here several times and we are never disappointed.

    4
    « Good location »

It was well equipped, and a comfortable sleep. The whirlpool was closed and the busy breakfast ( but pretty good selection of items) and lack of insulation between rooms are my only complaints. Otherwise it was worth what we paid( 80$ cad) . Great location close to south commons.

« short stay in Edmonton »

It was our first visit to the Edmonton area. Picked the hotel because it was a short drive to the airport. However, it was not that easy to drive to the hotel from the downtown area due to heavy traffic. Hotel staff was friendly but furniture in the room is not in the best of shape. Morning breakfast was well equipped but average quality. My major complaint was the small parking lot available to the patrons relative to the size of the hotel.

« Great Hotel, Close to airport »

Great Hotel close to the airport. really comfortable beds. enjoyed my stay. have been at this hotel many times and will be back many times in the future. Check for competing rates on various sites as the prices are quite different sometimes. Ama card for a cheaper rate.

« Better hotel than most in Edmonton »

Edmonton is not famous for hospitality.... however this hotel staff were quite efficient...... Would go back again. The breakfast could be better.... the eggs were probably powdered. The pancakes came from a machine , not much fruit offered ...coffee was okay

« friendly and help full staff »

I was with my family and kids, was able to check in early and got all the requested done at the same time. Front desk girls and housekeeping girls were very help full and friendly. Kids loved water slide and breakfast. convenient location near to highway to exit anywhere in Edmonton.

    « Great stay »

My partner arrived at the hotel after a long journey and delayed flight from the UK. We checked into the hotel early evening. Our room (117) on the ground floor was large and had everything you needed. The bed was very comfortable and slept very well. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, with quality toiletries and decent towels. The free breakfast was standard food, cereals, some hot items - eggs etc, fruit, pancakes, bagels, muffins, juice, teas and coffee, certainly enough choice even for fussy eaters. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and would recommend to anyone.

    « Great Sleep »

Needed a place to stay for our Edmonton excursion, was told to try this hotel, very clean and bed was amazing slept like a rock. Close to all amenities, free continental breakfast. only thing is the parking fills up quick, had to park a little away as we came back late to the hotel and all the parking was taken.

« I Found the Staff Genuinely Cared... »

Whether I was just arriving, needed access to the business centre or departing, the staff genuinely cared about the guest experience. As a business traveler, I appreciate that! There are other hotels in the area, but I like coming here...and yes, free continental breakfast is convenient and cost-effective!

    « Wonderful Staff! »

Besides being in an ideal location for a family stay this hotel was one of the best we have ever stayed in! The hotel is welcoming with well appointed rooms that were clean and spacious with really comfy beds. There were 16 of us staying there for the 2016 May Long weekend; ages newborn to 94 and all were accommodated easily! While staying there we did have a medical incident with our 94 year old grandmother that required paramedics but the hotel staff went out of their way to ensure that our needs were met. They were so patient and accommodating and we really appreciated their help. I cannot say enough how wonderful this place is and mostly how great the staff were throughout our stay. Thank you to Ms Kaur and her staff for everything! Sincerely, The MacLean Family.

    « Wow »

This was amazing! Quiet, clean, food was great, staff were friendly and accommodating. Pool hours accommodated our weird hours. We stay here every time we come to Edmonton and are never disappointed. We will be back and will recommend to others!!!

    « Amazing hotel »

Excellent visit and amazing service. The staff is very friendly and knew how to deal with any situation with adults or children, the staff is highly trained and is able to manage any situation in any circumstance. Much recommend hotel. My stay was very relaxing and all the Essential facilities are around the hotel so no need to drive far away everything is in 15min or less drive.

    « Great location »

I have stayed at this hotel about a dozen times in the last few years. I have never had a bad experience at this hotel. It is always meeting my needs and then some. For me the best thing about this hotel is it's location. Close to airport, close to main expressways, and close to all needed services. If I really wanted to be fussy and find something to complain about it would be the parking at the hotel in the evenings. A pizza/lounge next store makes parking close to the hotel entrances a challenge after about 5 pm.

« The Plus is well deserved »

We had a comfortable and convenient stay at the BW Plus South Edmonton. The hotel is conveniently located (along with two or three others) close to the highway and between downtown and the airport with a Dennys and White Spot nearby. The AC in our room was not functioning with a thermostat that had come loose from the wall, a concern that was fixed almost as soon as I mentioned it to the front desk in spite of the weekend. The staff was universally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was an above-average buffet. I'd stay here again the next time I'm in Edmonton.

« Best Western South Edmonton »

Excellent value for the money, good location - 1 block off the highway yet very quite, almost the best hotel Breakfast anywhere. Check in and out seamless, Staff very helpful, rooms clean and tidy. Close to surrounding restaurants.

« Missing Item NOT Returned »

I stayed at the Best Western in South Edmonton on the night of May 10th, 2016. We were in Edmonton for one night, so that I could write an exam the next day. We only left the hotel to write the exam. I brought with me an expensive Ester Williams blue bathing suit because I intended to go swimming. I only had one night's worth of belongings but I had packed in a dufflebag, I unpacked the few things I brought (clothes for the next day, PJs, and the bathing suit) into the top drawer of the dresser. I have a picture of this. I decided not to go swimming that night. I wore the PJs and the other clothes, the bathing suit was the only thing left in the drawer. I forgot to pack it when we left. Four hours after checkout I remembered it. I checked mine and my husband's bags, we did not have it. I called the hotel immediately. The desk clerk said she'd go with the housekeeping supervisor to check the room. She later called back and said it wasn't there. She said she would check with the housekeeper who cleaned the room, today she called back and said the housekeeper didn't see it. Someone on the housekeeping staff either threw it out or took it. I have since unpacked our bags and it is not here. It was 100% left in that hotel room. The replacement cost will be more than the stay in the hotel was worth. If you have expensive items I urge you not to stay in this hotel, it's worth the extra cost of staying elsewhere for the insurance that an missing item will be turned in by housekeeping and returned. TLDR; Expensive lost, missing item, was not returned by the hotel.

« Beware the Waterslide!! Otherwise good »

The hotel is clean. The breakfast is better than the average hotel 'self serve, microwave egg' affair. One criticism and it's a serious one: something is wrong with the Waterslide. I took my nephew and went down the slide. There must not be enough water or something because as I went down I went out of the stream of water and have nasty roadrash/carpet burn on my hip, knee and elbow. (For modesty's sake I included an elbow picture) Be careful people! Which brings me to my other peeve. Why, when hotels are usually busiest on weekends, can you not speak with a manager? The woman at the desk who I tried to speak to about the slide was polite and concerned and asked what I would do...? At any rate, there's a safety risk here and it really should be dealt with immediately.

« Best Western Plus - an enjoyable experience »

We were pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of ALL the staff - from the front counter receptionist to the staff cleaning the rooms, hallways and especially helpful in the breakfast room. The hotel presents very well from the outside, very convenient location to the airport and also alternative dining spots. The inside is very clean & tidy and looks like it has been cared for. The breakfast was very good. The only item that I suggest they consider changing is from plastic cutlery to regular cutlery. It is easier to eat with normal cutlery and is environmental friendly too. I would recommend this Best Western Plus location.

    3
« Best Western PLUS?? Hmmmm.... »

I stayed at this BW Plus this past weekend and am giving it an average rating, mostly for one reason that I'll get into in a moment. First. the check in process was easy, the room was clean, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom very clean as well. Lots of free parking and an OK breakfast. On checking out the staff did not ask about my stay, only if I had a chance to have breakfast. WiFi is spotty and not the greatest. One thing I found a little odd was a really ratty looking chair in the room. It had a vinyl seat that was peeling badly and worn around the edges (see the picture attached to this review). The morning after my check in I went by the front desk, showed the staff member the picture of the chair, and she took down the room details so the chair could be replaced. I went back to my room later that evening and the same chair was still there. So I went back down to the front desk and explained the situation to a different staff member and showed her a picture. Her response..."You can always call down to the front desk and ask for the chair to be replaced". I might have missed something here, but I was standing at the front desk when I was talking to this staff member...and the staff member I had mentioned this to earlier in the day was also at the front desk. My suggestion to management is to have the staff be a little more proactive. That will make this BW a BW PLUS. I've stayed at a number of BWs and can honestly say that this is the first instance where I've encountered something like this.

« Excellent hotel in south Edmonton »

Wonderful staff and an excellent facility. Nice pool, whirlpool, and water slide. Very good full breakfast. Comfortable rooms. Very quiet at night, even with two sports teams staying there. The elevators are very slow, but not a huge problem. Staff attentive to open additional rooms for breakfast as main room was filling up.

    « Great stay! »

Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. I had a great night's sleep in a cozy, quiet room. Great breakfast, overall a wonderful stay. My request for additional fruit at breakfast time was responded to quickly and positively.

    « Really Nice »

This hotel has the most comfortable beds that I have ever slept in. The hotel staff was really pleasant. The water in the pool area was nice and warm:) The area the hotel is in is very easy to get to and very close to the outlet centre and Ikea.

« Nice hotel in a good location in southern Edmonton »

The hotel is close to shopping and lots of good restaurants. Has a great breakfest that will really fill you up and start your day off. Staff was great at check in and got us into our room right away.

    « Decent »

When we booked this hotel, it was just my boyfriend and I heading to Edmonton to see the ice castles. Our friends then decided to join us, so I called the hotel to see if I could change to a 2 queen room. Unfortunately they were booked and could only change us to a double with a pull out bed for an extra fee. This was no problem and the staff were very helpful. This hotel is in a great location. Ample amounts of parking. Our bed was comfortable, the only complaint being the pull out was awful, and a very odd angle (head down feet up!) We otherwise enjoyed our stay.

    4
    « Great Customer Service »

My daughter and I stayed after a day of shopping and were greeted at the front desk with smiles and information about the hotel. They truly have great customer service here and make you feel welcome. The room was a good size, very clean and beds were comfy. We enjoyed the pool, slide and hot tub in the evening. We didn't hear any noise from the hallways and slept great. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the breakfast but I guess I can't complain as it was included. We saw the young girl just putting all the foods in the microwave on a paper plate and restocking the buffet. I realize they do this as they do not have a kitchen but very unappetizing to watch. We would definitely stay again when we are in Edmonton.

    « 20th Anniversary Holiday »

Had a absolute fabulous time. Safe was friendly and eager to please. Hotel was clean and rooms were comfy. Swimming was a blast. We were able to have some of our family come and swim too. The hotel was easy to find and in a really fun area to shop in. The breakfast area was kept clean and well supplied. Recommend to many friends.

    « Nice stay »

Nice stay, but the pool is not available... All is very good, breakfest is simple, but a lot of choice and not the same each day. The room is clean and confortable. I have a very nice stay at this hotel.

Love this hotel. Great location. Great staff. Great service. Breakfast was good with a variety of options that had something for everyone. Had dinner at Royal Pizza and I cannot say enough about how fantastic it was. The kids enjoyed the pool as well. Looking forward to our return trip at the end of April.

    « Overall a great hotel »

This hotel is a nice hotel with large rooms and good beds. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options including hot entrees. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only problem we had was a closed pool and waterslide which was the main reason we booked this hotel. The staff gave us a discount for the inconvenience and arranged for us to use the neighboring pool which was probably the best they could do but still disappointing

    « Clean and modern »

Very nice and clean hotel with very helpful staff. The pool is a little small, but the slide is great and the kids loved it. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Nice quiet night with very little road or train noise. Breakfast was good and we had a great stay overall. Plenty of eating options within walking distance and a large choice within just 5 minutes drive.

    « Thank-you! »

We had a very nice stay for four nights in this hotel. It was clean comfortable and quiet. The kids loved the pool and the water slide. Nothing fancy but kids were still happy. The breakfast was a fantastic amenity to have. Bacon, sausages, eggs,. And a funky little pancake machine! Fantastic coffee. Crowded, and nothing gourmet, but right in the hotel and always hot, constantly refilled, and free! If you're looking for fancier food, go pay for a restaurant ??. I would have liked the hours to be extended to 10 AM on weekdays as well though. The location is great with really fast access to the Anthony Henday freeway, the airport, and the white mud. Daily trips to West Ed mall were quick and easy. Just a few minutes to South Edmonton Common shopping and lots of restaurants. Our family took advantage of the workout room every day as well. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We are already making plans to return to this hotel for our next trip to this beautiful city.

    « Amazing »

We originally booked the bw cedar park inn but left there quick because it was disgusting and the staff left us feeling like crap. We called south common and they had a room available. We jumped at the chance because we have stayed here many times and know it's a great clean hotel. They even upgraded us which was fantastic considering we were not treated well at the other best western. We now know which best western will most definitely get our vote and our good reviews in years to come. Thank you so much for saving our night, we appreciate it so much.

    « Very Nice »

First time staying at this property, entrance to the room was nice and clean, missing the bathroom hand towels, face cloths, and bath mat. Called front desk and they delivered right away. Good Best Western. Breakfast bar is the hot breakfast type. Your typical breakfast. Would recommend.

« Average hotel trying to be something more than they are »

Firstly, great welcome by staff & check in experience. When you look around the lobby, it is quite small but they are too clustered with too many things for a small congested lobby. You see all kind of people in swim wear passing by to the slide and pool. Upgraded to a business class room, but I would hate to see what a regular room looks like. Not enough electrical plugs in convenient places - nothing by the bed. Most above average hotels now have lamps that you can plug in your many gadgets! Bathroom so tiny, you can hardly find space to sit on the seat with the door closed. Cheap basic towels, small TV that is not HD and poor picture quality. The bed was comfortable. For a hotel not directly by the airport, the noise from the highway was horrific. Now, the breakfast was just average but the line up and space was horrific. The lady in the breakfast room changing and replacing the food, looks so mad to be at work around people! It seems like this hotel is somewhere you take your many kids to let them slide down the water slide. If you are not part of a family, don't expect to use this pool at all. Holding an additional $100 on your card is just useless- there is no pay TV, no restaurant on site, no min-bar, no glorious paintings to steal, so why not $50?! Hotels are horrific for holding unto your credit card balance for no reason when they don't even provide the amenities. Cheap towels is not reason anyone would want them and a business class room with 1 washcloth and 3 towels and 3 face cloth is just weird. I would say to this hotel, just be a good Best Western and stop pretending to be high end. You are not.

    « Minor complaints 2nd time round »

Stayed here just for 1 night last week and it was my second time visiting this property. We had room 206, it was smaller than last time, but still comfy and nice. I found bathroom to be quite cold and had problems controlling the water temperature and pressure from the shower head; no big deal though, the bathroom was very clean and nice. Breakfast was good, however I thought it was lacking the vegetarian and more healthy options (not sure if options change daily, perhaps this was just my unlucky day). One thing that sort of bothered me was the fact that there were guests there walking in the breakfast room with bare feet. And when I say bare feet, I mean no sandals, no flip flops, just nothing on their feet when having breakfast and then walking to the pool area right away. It wasn't very elegant for starters and, boy, I wouldn't like to swim in that pool if he went right in after breakfast! I realize this is not the hotel's fault, but perhaps they could have some policy in place about wearing shoes or at least flip flops to the breakfast room. Their customer service was excellent. From lovely front desk staff at check in to the manager who was doing rounds at breakfast and asking people about their experience and complaints. It looks like they really care! Altogether had a good stay with some minor issues/ concerns. Would return to this property and recommend to others.

    « Pleasantly surprised »

I haven't stayed in a Best Western for years (had been disappointed with some of the ones I'd seen) but the location for this one as well as the price was too good to pass up. I was pleasantly surprised with the room - the tv remote was in its own little bag indicating that it was a "fresh" remote, have never seen that before. The bed itself was extremely comfy and the room was pretty quiet considering how close to the highway it is. Would definitely stay here again.

    3
    « Bestwestern South Edmonton »

It's close to a decent chain restaurant and bar, easy access to the highway and quiet enough being so close. Comfy beds, decent room décor and I really didn't hear anybody else for my stay. It was fine and I'll probably stay there again in a few months. It would be nice to have some decent coffee in the rooms. That's the biggest difference I see going from $149 rooms to $300 rooms. You get better coffee in the $300 rooms.

    « Always a hit!! »

Our family stays at this hotel every time we visit Edmonton. It is in a great location, close to South Common and the Anthony Hendey, if you want a quick route to the West Edmonton mall. The staff make you feel like home. The breakfast and pool area are great. An amazing location if you are traveling for business, pleasure or with a sports team!

An excellent place to stay. On the south side of Edmonton it allows easy access to the city. It is very clean, and well equiped. The staff is friendly, courteous and knowledgable. Breakfast is super with a large assortment of hot or cold items. Recommend it to all our friends.

« A good hotel for a week long stay. »

We had checked into the hotel for a week in early March in order to complete a house hunting trip within Edmonton. The check-in was quick and simple, and the hotel staff was very friendly. Upon entering the room, the room was clean, and throughout the week we found the room was quiet even with multiple youth programs being in the hotel. Breakfast: Breakfast was a standard fare for an included breakfast, consisting of eggs, bacon or sausage, juice, pastries cereal and pancakes or french toast. In addition, the day we had checked out, we had to leave before breakfast began at 6:30 am. The hotel had a grab and go breakfast box which contained a croissant, a piece of fruit, a yogurt, and a bottle of water available for us due to us not being able to attend breakfast. The Gym: The gym was small, with mainly cardio equipment, dumbbells up to 30lbs, and an all-in-one workout machine, but it still allowed for a quick, effective workout. The Pool: The pool and hot tub was also clean, and had hotel staff frequently checking for towels and the like in the pool area. All in all, I would definitely stay here again in the future should the need arise.

check in was way too complicated and way too long,Ended up getting into our room finally and was welcomed into a flood.then we moved again.way too much money for that kind of a run around. In the present economy prices are high.I think when people screw up money should be taken off.wasn't our screw up,we planned well ahead of time.Beds were very comfortable once we settled in.

My husband and I stayed in a jacuzzi king suite . The suite was clean and comfortable .the jacuzzi was wonderfully relaxing . Would have been nice if the fireplace were closer to the jacuzzi . And maybe if the tv were closer as well . Staff was friendly . Breakfast was fine .ample selection. Parking was a bit of an issue . It seems there were several sports team also staying there that weekend , so the parking lot was extremely full . At one point we had to circle for 15 minutes to find a parking space .... We didn't use the pool /water slide . All in all , our stay was perfectly acceptable .

We were really happy with our stay. The room was a good size, clean and very comfortable. There was a microwave and fridge which was awesome for our little ones bottles. The pool area was great and the free breakfast was really decent! There were lots of kids, so maybe not the place for couples, but with our little one we couldn't have had a better stay!

« Friendly Service, Nice Clean Hotel but Crowed »

The hotel is quite new and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The downside is the lack of parking. We had to park on the street and then move the vehicle when a spot came available. Being a nice clean hotel it was very busy and loud. Overall it was good value though and would recommend the facility.

    « Very Average Stay »

We found this online and really liked the location and option for a pool and waterslide. We arrived just after 3pm local time and were told check-in was not until 4pm. The staff made an excellent effort to find us a clean room and get us in early. The room was very average and appeared clean at first. My kids pulled back the sheets on their bed to find a large yellow stain on the sheets. It appears they were clean, however the stain did not wash out. We called the front desk and someone came up right away to change sheets on both beds. I then sat on a chair in the room that fell over because the leg was broken. The chair at the desk was quite old, cracked up and loose. Not sure why this would not have been replaced. The pool was fine, lots of places to sit and lots of clean towels. The breakfast was good, just one young girl running it and could not keep up with the volume. This may have been an abnormally busy week, with a school holiday one Province over, but again a little planning might have made a world of difference. We liked the location and parking was ample with a pizza place in the parking lot. It was quiet with good access to the city. We were disappointed overall based on what type of quality we usually get from this chain. but I think we would give it a second chance when we return to the city.

easy access, off of hwy 2 and just as you drive into Edmonton from Calgary. basic hotel, clean and quiet. a bit on the pricier side but then again no parking fees. shopping, restraints close by. Skip the Royal Pizza place below, expensive and staff are really not interested in working there.

« The best Western in Edmonton even when ALL rooms are BOOKED! »

We were looking for a place that is Clean, Quite, Accesable, Fun to stay in and provide you the best service for money and we Knew this would be the place. A day before and even when there were two junior hockey teams reserved to stay there and not even one single room is free for booking, we called and the front disk gave us an earlier checking time with pleasure without compromising any quality of the room service. The Slide in the swimming pool area worth the premium you pay for this hotel specially when you notice that their swimming pool water is not only one of the best balanced and maintained but also has a touch of saltiness as a sea water but without the stink of the cloreen ost of the other pools dump in their water. The rooms are very will insulated from noise and the individual iairconditioning system makes it very comfurtable. Their full breakfast is very will presented with quality material and varity but most of all, the cleanness of the rooms, corridors and facilities was amazing. As if this all is not convencing, try booking through them directily and be assured f their best value for very spacius room and comfertuble beds. The different grade of pillows provided (3 for each sleeper) will make sure you will find your best hight for home-like sleep. Their card security based entry into the building, elevators and facilities makes it very exclusive for guests and very reassuring for parents with small children. Highly recommended and will be very hard to compete with ... Feel free to contact me for any questions ... and super honest response.

    « Kid Friendly »

Awesome trip to take our Grandchildren on a Valentines Day get away weekend. We had other things planned, but the highlight of the trip by far was the waterslide at the hotel!! The rooms are clean and comfortable. Location is excellent as it is on the out skirts of the city. The breakfast is ok, lets face it your not getting a 10 star breakfast at any hotel that offers breakfast included! We have stayed here a couple of times in the last year and have never had any issues I would recommend it for a place to take the family.

All aspects of stay were great! We arrived early on Friday of a long weekend and were assigned two adjacent rooms. Hotel was completely booked so this was appreciated. We were in town for a family wedding so we were back and forth a lot Housekeeping managed to make up our room without inconveniencing us. Hotel location is 20 minutes from the airport and west Edmonton Mall. Will stay again.

There is a Royal Pizza in the same parking lot with excellent food. One of the quietest rooms I have stayed in. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

This hotel offers good value for the price. The breakfast offered is on par or better than other properties I've been at. The room and general hotel appearance is excellent. The pool area is very nice and is great for kids, especially with the water slide.

This place is awesome with caring staff, very clean room and too good breakfast. Staff of this place is too very friendly, we never felt new at this place. We had an issue with our booking and Mandeep went her way out to help us. The breakfast girl was very helpful. Front desk guy was also very accommodating. We will definitely stay at this place.

The staff at the Best Western PLUS South Edmonton Inn & Suites are amazing. They go out of their way to be accommodating and are always pleasant. Rooms and facilities are perfect for work travel. Hotel is very well situated (on HWY 2, 15 minutes from Edmonton International Airport and minutes to groceries, restaurants, etc.).

I am always pleased with Best Western! I travel throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta and always try and stay with Best Western. This was another great experience! The only complaint would be it took awhile for the room to heat up but I am not sure if that was just because I was on the ground floor. Everything else was great! Price was excellent!

    « Wonderful Family Hotel »

We were in Edmonton for medical appointments and wanted a hotel that would be a good fit for active children. This hotel was the perfect fit. The pool and slide were very popular with our boys, and although very busy in the late afternoon and evening, they were quite calm in the mornings. The breakfast is quite good - we were anticipating cereals and pastries with perhaps some yogurt and fruit, but there was so much more offered. This will be our hotel of choice for every trip we make to Edmonton from now on.

I chose to stay at this location due to it's proximity to the University Hospital. I had asked for a main floor room with later checkout and this was not a problem whatsoever. The closeness to Royal Pizza was awesome and the food there always good. The pool was warm and the area around it very clean. I would stay here again.

I'm from Japan so I was surprised when I didn't see any slippers at hotel but I think it's normal here. I won't forget to bring slippers next time. Everyone was very nice and everything was clean. It was very good deal for king size room :)) Wished there were less people at the pool.

Staff was nice. Breakfast was good. Anything I needed the hotel staff were able to meet my needs or answer my questions. The kids loved the pool, but there was a towel shortage sometimes, but staff would fix that if anyone asked. Overall I would stay at this hotel again.

« Best Western Plus South Ed »

Usually very good to stay, rooms are nice, clean and if you get the inner rooms is quiet. I have had the rooms on the roadside and you do get enough road noise to bother which I had the last stay. Winter it is nice for the vehicle plug ins if you can get one. Vera is the best lady on the counter.

    « AMAZINF EXPERIENCE »

I Had my kids for a Christmas trip and we came up to Edmonton at the end of the trip for an Oilers game. Staff made check in easy, when I had trouble printing tickets they found a way to help and get us out quickly. Were friendly with the kids and on check out made it easy even thought the refund on my deposit was a little complicated, they solved the problems and never stressed about it

    « Decent Stay »

Our room was nice, spacious, clean and quiet. Great bed. Had a fantastic sleep. Fridge and microwave were handy. There's a Royal Pizza right in the same parking lot. A couple other upscale restaurants, in behind this hotel. The breakfast was really a complete waste for us. Food was cold. Bagels, bread were hard as a rock. We gave up and went elsewhere to eat. It actually downgrades our stay here. They'd really be much better off to just eliminate it than ridicule themselves boasting about offering it.

    « government rate accepted »

I chose this hotel as a last minute choice to stay an extra night in the city. The rates normally is close to $150 but I was given a government discount so that was good in my books. The hotel staff very nice, but I was surprised at the look of the rooms. Very 80's although clean. And the TV was small for a king bed room. Just did not feel this was a great value for money. I guess you get what you pay for. The bed was very comfortable!

    « Great customer service! »

There were a few issues with my room when I checked in at almost midnight. The following morning the GM was looking for me in the breakfast room. She saw to it that everything was rectified, and I was quite happy with that! It's a modern, comfortable hotel, and all of the desk staff greeted me each each time I entered the building. Odd as it might seem for the hospitality industry, this doesn't happen everywhere. Breakfast offered everything that I was looking for, and I'll be back in December.

    « Interested in $$ over a persons safety »

Due to road conditions/snow showers I was not able to make my reservation. I called and explained that I wouldn't be able to make it all the way to the city. The receptionist that I talked to understood roads were really bad but then she brought up my reservation she said there was nothing she could do. Not sure when a standard 2 queen beds became such a "special" room that she wouldn't be able to rent out. I expected to pay a fee but to be flat out refused. The safety of myself and daughter is more important to me than money but apparently not the case with this hotel. I'll make sure my family and friends stay elsewhere from now on.

We stayed here as a couple, so with the number of children around, it was a little noisy for our liking, but it is an awesome place to stay with a family. Pool & waterslide are great for the kids. Regardless, it's a terrific value for you dollar.

I njoy this property for BW over any of the Edmonton locations. it is out of the city just a bit however if you have rented a car anything is within 20 minutes to get too on Hwy 216.. Great stay, very nice staff and terrific amenities; pool fitness centre breakfast is included and nice selection. Restaurants are across street and parking lot with may more available within 5 mins drive.

Really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all so accommodating and friendly! Waterslide is awesome!! We were staying in Edmonton because it was my son's birthday and when the lady at the desk found out she came up to our room with a birthday card, chips and a juice box for him! Very thoughtful! The rooms are nice and clean as well.

    « Convenience and Value »

We had a suite with fireplace, dog friendly near the on site restaurant. Quite often hotel restaurants are over priced or the food is bad. Breakfast was included and quite generous/buffet with lots of options. Service very friendly. Rooms were clean. This is not a 5 star but with the kitchen great for families or for hosting in your suite. Walk to "downtown" is about 5-10 mins so if youre stumbling home from the bar or just want a walk after supper its well located. Would go back and will recommend to friends

    « Great Stay »

The Hotel seems to be under renovation, which may be a turn off for some when they walk in to the lobby area. But I found the overall experience was pleasant and the staff were very nice and the location is not so bad as the other best western hotels are far away from the city except the plus city inn. Once the renovation is complete, this hotel has a great potential. Thank you for the experience.

    « Exceptional Hotel »

The hotel looks brand new, inside and out, with a welcoming and stylish contemporary decor. Our rooms were spacious and well stocked with essentials (hair dryer, microwave, flat screen TV, free wifi). The pool is great and the breakfast is excellent (lots of hot options such as omlettes and french toast) which made our stay very relaxing. Staff were so friendly and helpful with all requests. Close proximity to airport and only 20 mins or so to downtown and major attractions such as the West Edmonton Mall (discount passes to Galaxyland at WEM were available for purchase from the front desk). There are some eating options in close proximity including the White Spot where we had 2 very good, reasonably priced meals (salads, burgers, entree options). There are also many dining/shopping options at South Common which is only 5-10 mins away. All in all, it was the best stay that we've had in ages and nice to feel so welcomed.

« Excellent venue for our small group »

Our group members, coming from Alaska, Yellowknife, and Alberta, met at this hotel. The front desk ladies were very helpful as I called several times to add additional rooms and room nights. The rooms were all assigned in proximity to one another, which was very helpful. The staff greeted us with warmth and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. They were responsive to our requests. The rooms were quiet, clean, and comfortable. The location of the hotel is excellent for non-hotel services (quick printing, for instance) and convenient to Tim Horton (which of course is essential). Thanks to Mandeep and all for the great service. Highly recommend this property!

« A very comfortable and friendly place to stay »

I have been staying here for more than 4 years, at least 30 weeks a year, so I might be a little biased...lol Location is great for both pleasure or business. Located right at Hwy 2 and the Anthony Henday, you can get anywhere fairly quick. West Edmonton Mall in the Northwest is maybe 30 minutes away, same as Fort Saskatchewan in the Northeast. Very close to South Common, with a large movie theatre, and hundreds of shops and restaurants. There is a White Spot across the street from the hotel, and right next door a Rockford Grill and a Chop. A pizza/italian place is being built on the property, should be ready soon. This hotel still seems new, and the rooms are large and comfortable. Each room has an individual ac/heating unit, allow you to quickly get the temperature to your liking. This is actually a bigger deal than it seems, as you will not get a very good sleep in a room that is too hot or cold. Plenty of towels, and you can get more if you need them. I usually stay in a business king room, which has a king bed, and a sitting area with an armchair, coffee table, and pull out couch. They also have jacuzzi rooms with a king bed and fireplace, and rooms with twin queen beds. I have stayed in many hotels, all over Western Canada, and the staff here really are great. Very friendly, and willing to help with the smallest thing, they will do whatever they can to make your stay more comfortable. The manager, Mandeep, always checks to make sure everything is good with your stay. Although all the staff are great, I have known Anita, Jessica, and Mary Ann the longest, and they really are exceptional. You will not regret picking this hotel for your stay in the Edmonton area.

    « Clean and functional »

Stayed here for a work trip. We had training in the hotel too - right next door to breakfast room. Terrible location for training room! Super noisy during breakfast which goes until 9:30. Rooms were a nice size, beds comfy. 3rd floor rooms seemed to all have super tiny pillows - as per photo. 4th floor were normal. Fitness room is good. Pool looked nice. Not a great location if you don't have a vehicle. Overall was ok for work - rooms had microwaves and fridges. Likely wouldn't choose those for personal travel. I have no idea what exactly the "fresh remote" baggie actually means. I hope it means it was santizied but I found no reference to it in the literature anywhere.

    « Staff so helpful! »

The hotel is very well equipped, clean and staffed. Location is ideal for folks who avoid congested inner city locations, yet very close to airport and attractions. Staff were extremely helpful in assisting parents with small children, and the breakfast was above the usual quality.

We stayed here for 10 nights as new residents to Edmonton. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with a lots of choice which changed daily. The girls loved the pool and it became a daily routine! We made good use of both the business suite and laundry facilities. Perfect location for the South side of Edmonton.

booked a stay was checked in by some space cadet staff member who could barely check us in correctly or properly. Had booked a second night the following night on two separate reservations. it turned out i got my dates wrong and instead of the clerk says you have to check out and recheck in. in the morning we go to the front desk and inquire about the other reservation and the cranky clerk offered nothing but attitude. we lose too leave and will not be back.

    « Convenient and affordable »

I stayed two nights and found it to be a very good hotel close to the airport. The area is not close to downtown, but the hotel is very self-sufficient with a pool, a lounge with coffee, and breakfast. There were a lot of families there and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The room was very nice -- clean and it had everything we needed. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. They even got me a bathrobe to get from my room to the pool, although it wasn't included in the type of room I stayed at. We also got a government discount and for the price we payed, this hotel exceeded our expectations. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Edmonton.

« Clean, great amenities for the price and excellent staff »

Overall Hotel amenities: Scan cards for entry and elevator usage (big kudos for the elevator being included as a security feature), Free Wifi, standard complimentary breakfast, front lobby offers snacks. There are plenty of restaurant options very close by, the White Spot was excellent for breakfast during our stay. Staff: extremely friendly, incredibly helpful and professional, smiles and courteous genuine greetings. (all the staff was fantastic but a big thank you to MaryAnn) Room Amenities: Mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker with supplies, asst mini toiletries, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, desk with office chair, clothes closet, garbage and recycle bins in room, relaxing chair with ottoman. Other rooms have even more if required. Shower: large tub, curved clean curtain, high shower head with excellent pressure and spray adjust Bathroom sink: high sink faucet for easy rinse, pool style slanted sink for quick drainage TV: tv remote in a "fresh remote? baggy, tv a bit small at 32?. Would have at least went 40? for the distance to the bed but not deal breaker by any means. Environment Control: quieter carrier brand a/c unit, wall control with simple operation layout The one oddity: Traffic to pool area travels, and can only travel, directly past the front desk on the way to the pool area. This creates an always entertaining and some times awkward parade of half naked people in high traffic/service area. Would be a repeat visitor in a heartbeat.

« Most Accomodating Customer Service Ever! »

We are fans of the Best Western Plus line of hotels for numerous reasons but most importantly for their great customer service. We have received good service at all locations that we have stayed, but the service of the team at this particular hotel go above and beyond. The staff was very welcoming, and despite being extremely busy they were extremely accommodating. The manager gladly stepped in to assist his front counter staff, not due to problems but due them being backed up with check ins, phone calls, and juggling rooms to make room for everyone possible. I visited the front counter a number of times and this appeared to be the normal level of service provided ... Outstanding. The rooms are very clean and well appointed, always comfortable beds, always a good selection of pillows and extra blankets if necessary. Breakfast is self serve and provides all the options for healthy start to your day. I would stay again and even highly recommend this to any one looking for a room in the South End of Edmonton.

« Amazing Service, Super Clean Hotel ,Great Breakfast! »

I congratulates Miss. Mandeep for setting the hotel standard that high. I was not able to find a sing thing that I can point out to improve. I can see that it is a very new Hotel but you guys ROCK in every area! Loved the breakfast "never seen a Hotel Manager talking to guest directly and asking for any recommendation to improve, Great Idea! I come to Edmonton regularly, there is no way that i will stay at any other Hotel unless you guys sell out of rooms for me. If you maintain your standard there is no reason for any downfall.

« Hotel accomodated my needs EXCELLENTLY »

This hotel is wonderful for a family trip. I have small children and normally get stuck by hockey or tournament teams. Not much sleep for us. I requested a different room when I booked, and they surpassed my request. Quiet corner room away from all, and we had a fantastic sleep 2 nights in a row. Breakfast was amazing and my family had fun making pancakes. Hotel won cleaning award, and they deserved it! Highly recommend this hotel.

« Best Western Plus (South Edmonton) »

This hotel was close to the airport which allowed for some extra time to get ready to board our flight. Having the breakfast included (which was not just cereal, it was eggs, sausage, pancakes, etc..) was an extra bonus to the stay. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

« Very nice property, not the best location »

We stayed here over the week-end while attending a family event. The property is new, modern, clean and attractive. We stay at best Western Hotels frequently because of the consistent good service and quality properties and this hotel was not disappointing in that way. The hotel offers the standard free breakfast which is always just fine. Not fancy but lots of good breakfast fare and the automatic make-your-own-pancake machine was more than just a little cool. Warning: Saturday morning either get down early or wait until the last half hour for breakfast. Seating is very limited for a hotel this size and it is very family oriented (a ton of kids of all ages) so the middle of breakfast is a bit of a gong show. I do have a couple negatives regarding my experience. First, the bed did not seem to be the normal Best Western bed. Ours seemed very hard and we didn't sleep as well as we might of as a result; not that it really mattered though, the hotel faces south oriented east-west where the QE2 freeway and Ellerslie Road, a four lane divided major thoroughfare meet. Our room was on the west end (closest to the QE2 and facing north toward Ellerslie. There was a tremendous amount of heavy truck traffic even in the middle of the night and we were woken numerous times by heavy truck's riding their "Jake Brakes" (a brake run off the truck engine that we have all heard that makes that horrendously loud crackling sound as the engine slows the truck as opposed to the wheel brakes). On top of that, some commercial waste removal company decided at 05:38 on Saturday morning to empty a waste bin somewhere in close proximity to our room and I suspect did his level best to smash the steel bin around as loudly as possible (maybe he was grumpy because he had to go to work early ...). Overall it represents another nice Best Western property, the Chop Steakhouse and bar are just a few steps away as is a White Spot restaurant, there are no food and beverage options available in the Hotel. I would consider staying again but would insist on a) second floor or higher (the parking lot is very busy even at night), b) the far east end of the building away from the QE2 and c) facing south away from Ellerslie Road.

Very clean and comfortable, with a spacious room. Breakfast was excellent, with several hot choices, and and cold choices. Would definitely stay there again. We have stayed many times for business and the rooms ar always very clean and fresh. This time we were upgraded to a suite. A wonderfully relaxing place to spend the night while away on business.

    « Great Hotel »

Nice and clean room and friendly staff with a very fast water slide and excellent hot buffet breakfast. We run out of hair conditioner and they didn't give us a hard time providing everything we need. We didn't know that there are towels available in the pool room and we don't have to bring the towel from our room, so the lady in the front kept hold of our towels until we get back to our room. It was a short stay but we enjoyed a lot.

    « Disrespectful Staff »

We flew into Edmonton to attend a family funeral and a few days later thought it would be nice to have some of our relatives and their young kids over to our hotel for a swim. We asked the front desk ahead of time to see if they could accommodate our request. The lady was very courteous and agreed. We all went for dinner that evening and headed back to the hotel for our swim, it was a wonderful time and the kids enjoyed the slide and splashing around in the pool. We even stayed right up until pool closing at 10pm. Prior to closing time a lady gave us a 5 min warning to leave the pool and we began collecting our things. She returned shortly after threatening me and my family demanding my room number and became extremely irate. I was completely dumbfounded and obliged by giving her my number and felt extremely embarrassed in front both my and my extended family's presence. I've stayed here many times in the past and have had a great experience each time as most of these reviews will indicate. Unfortunately due to this absurd experience I will not be staying here again.

After spending 2 nights at the Best Western Jasper we were very surprised at the presentation of this hotel. Very modern and welcoming. Lovely reception and lounge area and very friendly staff. A huge contrast from Jasper. Breakfast was included and was excellent offering cooked and continental breakfast. Our room was huge, very clean and comfortable. Great indoor pool and spa with an indoor slide for the kids. Can't fault it.
