    « Absolutely terrible experience - do not stay here »

    Horrible check in experience, no towels in the room upon check in, we were going to a party and could not shower. They over charged my credit card. No parking hard, very noisy. I travel a lot, by far the worst experience ever, the hotel manager would do nothing more than correct the over charge. Several guests were at the front desk complaining about parking and no towels, but the staff did not care. We will never stay here again, the Delta is up the street way better experience.

    « Clean, friendly staff, convenient location, just a few glitches »

    First time here, I came up on the Red Arrow for a road trip with co-workers the next day and thought it would be convenient for them to pick me up here. The room was cold (I always find hotel rooms to be cold) but the thermostat didn't work, no display and the maintenance staff were gone for the night. No worries, they offered me another room but it was too much trouble and the very nice housekeeper brought me a space heater. Then I went to the restaurant to order some take-out. They said they would call me when it was ready. After half an hour I went to call and see if it was ready. Phone was dead, so I went down and my food had been ready 15 minutes previously. They called, no answer. Turned out the phone clip was broken so the line got pulled out of the jack, likely when someone moved the phone on the desk. Didn't think to check. The food was very good. Next morning - can't find the hair dryer - it's located on the wall next to the coffee machine, not in the bathroom, but not a problem. Very weak air flow, and after about a minute konks out altogether. Too rushed to deal with it, so I leave with damp hair. Not sure if I was just unlucky or there are maintenance issues here. Overall though, I would stay here again under the same circumstances. It was very convenient to be picked up where the bus dropped me off, and it's just off the Whitemud so very quick to get out of town and on the road. Staff are very friendly and apologetic about the glitches.

    The location is handy for my needs, though not in a very walkable area. The staff was very good, and the room smelled clean. On the down side, the walls are quite thin and the room I stayed in definitely could use a spruce-up. I didn't feel very comfortable staying here and I'm not sure I will again. It's definitely functional and the price was good.

    I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I was welcomed by staff, and hotel is a very conveniently located not too far from downtown. Hotel is very clean and rooms were newly renovated and in a good shape. My stay was short and did not use the restaurant but it looked very clean and modern. There are several restaurants located near the hotel in case one prefers to have different food each day.

    Staff were great! Hotel is tired, but there are indications of improvements with construction in the lobby, etc. Room was clean with good amenities. The onsite kitchen/bar had a great eggs Bennie and the service was top notch. Will not be my first choice to return to, however would not balk at the option if required.

    « Hotel location is perfect for my visit »

    I and my husband went visiting our son and the location is perfect for us. It looked to me that the hotel was under renovation, they were some workers in and out. The renovation job performed at the lobby and reception area is poorly done. The two pieces stones are not lining up. I will definitely ask them to re-do the job because it's the first impression for customers. Good for the price and location.

    Had to make a last minute trip to Edmonton and used Hotel.com to check for a hotel close to where my daughter lived and where I had to be the next morning. Being an repeat Best Western patron, I chose this location. Was not disappointed. They have several choices of rooms that are very reasonable priced. I chose the room with a single queen bed with fridge. Was surprised to find it also came with a jacuzzi that wasn't mentioned in the description. It has ample parking and has a great location on gateway Blvd. Just north of the Whitemud Drive. And south of White Ave.

    This was my second time staying at the Best Western Cedar Park Inn in three years. The hotel did not disappoint. Just a hint: If you are noise sensitive ask for a room facing the back or bring ear plugs. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms overall are quiet and comfortable.

    Unfortunately our stay at this location was not a great experience. The hotel is very dated, dull, and in many areas, somewhat dark. Our room ambiance reflected a time gone by when hotel stays Amy have been more utilitarian than comfortable, and well appointed. Even the amenities such as towels,shampoo, rinse, lotion,was so merger and with some items. Issuing, it was difficult to get the house,depo g staff to part with what they had. The lady indicated that they were not allowed to give more than one of each, despite there were two of us. Pretty much, the dinginess of the hotel seemed to mimic the staff attitude we encountered. We were supposed to get a free breakfast, as booked with Airmiles. We were told that breakfast was not included, despite the booking. No offer of any mope sat was offered. The person at the desk told us to contact Airmiles. Not the best strategy to get someone to return tot his location. On the up side, the location is very good - right off the main arteries, and close to shopping.

    Cheap renovations with faucets and toilet seat falling apart in the newly renovated rooms. The face basin in the bathroom is so low, who was it made for? and you cannot have mouthwash which is not SEALED being offered to clients - who put the liquid in that container to have guests using it- don't use it! The toilet seat rattles. Comfy bed in the new renovated room but I think they tried to do too much - less is best. And the additional charges here are horrific - environmental fee and claim that all other hotels charge it ? Not! Leduc BW does not. The front staff are trying but I think the problem could be management - when a customer has a concern, don't just print off something and give staff to show the clients- get outside your office and speak with the customer! Location is convenient and possibly a reason for me to come back here.

    Would stay here again...everything in the room worked...noise was minimal, decor was recent, bed was clean and comfortable, and staff was friendly. When you're on the road for business and you have a budget because you're self employed, this place is a steal!

    We booked a room at the Best Western Cedar Park Inn for two nights while we were in Edmonton for a wedding. We had arrived in Edmonton fairly early in the morning and went to the Inn around 9:30 to see if we could check in early. Staff at the front desk were able to accommodate our request and we were checked in to our room shortly after arriving. The room was well equipped with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a very comfortable arm chair and ottoman. Overall, our room was comfortable and I would certainly stay at the Cedar Park Inn again.

    The best part about this hotel is the location although you sure don't want a room facing the road as it's very noisy. Rooms are outdated and not maintained. Carpet is dirty and worn in many places. Was hard to warm up the room as the heater took a long time to warm up the area. Cannot always get hot water either. This place is in desperate need of upgrades and there are simply Other hotels close by better for the money. I would not stay here again or r commend to anyone

    This hotel seems to be sturdy and around for a long time. Good points are plenty of parking, free internet, rooms are clean and staff is friendly and accommodating. The location is very accessible. For its price, it is competitive.

    the rooms was not clean, the water pressure was no good, there was no hot water had to wait 15 minutes to obtain hot water, could not regulate room temperature, room smelled like cigarettes, housekeeping could not help re smell, elevator not working and was not advised, was waiting long time before took stairs, too pricy for room service from restaurant, front desk not asking correct questions, would not recommend this hotel. will not stay here again.

    The first room they gave me was facing a high traffic intersection and was very noisy which is unacceptable to me as I am a light sleeper. I asked to be moved so they were gracious enough to move me to an upgraded room on the 5th floor. The room was spacious, and clean , and included a fridge . Nice quiet lounge where you can enjoy a drink. Close to shopping.

    Very good location. Clean and comfortable.Friendly and very pleasant staff. Excellent food, and prices. Quite and very homelike feeling. Nice lounge. Restaurant staff were very friendly and made you feel very welcome. Front desk Staff were awesome. Pretty good parking area. Close to lots of things such as dining,shopping etc.

    Hotel room was on renovated first floor. Nice decor, bed and pillows were comfy. The only negative was that the fridge was turned off, so was useless to us during the stay. Thankfully, we did not have items that needed to be refrigerated during this particular stay.

    After a long hard day I arrived at the cedar park inn late in the evening. I was extremely dissapointed when I got to my room. The toilet in my room had a fresh urine stain on the seat. Gross!! I peeled back the covers on the bed to discover a pubic hair on the sheet. I was thoroughly disgusted. The room felt old and poorly finished. I complained to the front desk and they upgraded me to a better room. The upgraded room was better but it wasn't very clean either. I found small hairs in the bathtub and the carpet hadn't been vacuumed very well. The faucet in the bathtub had extremely low pressure. I have stayed at Best Western hotels many times and usually they are fine but this one is awful. I will never be back. I had to leave and stayed somewhere else. What a hassle.

    I used my points to stay in the hotel for a night. Hotel was calm and quiet. One of the Elevator was out of order but that shouldn't stop us from staying in a newly renovated hotel. Room has good decoration and comfort. Pool was enjoyable. Employees was very helpful specially "Navi", really soft spoken and welcoming. Pretty close to amenities like Walmart and Superstore, etc.

    It is the best idea to belong to the Best Western hotels membership We were able to use our points for a free night stay and that included all the extra taxes. Members are treated so well and we were very pleased with our stay at this hotel.

    Great location and very well renovated recently. Overall a great hotel stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient for visiting fior visiting friends and family without having to go right into the city.

    This hotel was conveniently located for all the activities which we had planned. Easy to get to anyplace we were going. Only problem was they are in the middle of renovation which I'm sure will be nice, but it does need to be finished. The lobby is very cold and unfriendly, although the front desk staff was very nice. The rooms were nice and comfortable and provided a nice night's rest. The restaurant was far below average, another cold unfinished portion of the hotel but the food was not close to average either. We had reserved balcony rooms. Weirdest balcony I've ever seen, you can cross a little barrier and travel from room to room, doesn't even seem like a safe thing. We like to sleep with our windows open so we changed rooms to be assured of some privacy.

    As always, clean and comfortable but the elevator a few doors down was so noisy - especially a loud squealing - that I needed earplugs and a pillow over my head to get to sleep (I am a light sleeper). Otherwise, an enjoyable stay.

    Good value, but noise due to elevator next door and over size seat on the toilet bowl, resulting in frequent wee wee touching it. Problem reported but not rectified by management. If it was it for these issues, I wood call it great value and pleasurable stay.

    Hotel was in a good location - found it quiet even with road construction going on outside all night long. In our first room we blew a breaker that couldn't be fixed so we were moved to another room. Staff were helpful and pleasant.

    « Do not stay at this hotel »

    Everything about this experience was awful. The service was terrible. We had to switch rooms and did not receive the balcony room that we booked. I booked our rooms 2 months prior to our stay and even called 2 days before to confirm. The second room I had booked for other family was not cleaned and they were unable to check-in until after 4:30 in the afternoon. The staff were extremely rude and unwilling to help resolve the problems. There are many hotels in that area and I will never stay at this hotel, or any Best Western again.

    The first room, the air conditioner was broken. The second room was missing a shelf and the flourscent bulb had no cover on it. We also had bubbles in the wallpaper all over the room. The saving grace was their three night rate made the rooms 20 dollars cheaper a night.

    We stayed for 2 nights. When we called reservations they had 2 different rates. One rate for Friday and one rate for Saturday. When we arrived they took $100 deposit on my credit card for incidentals. That was fine but they charged a second $100 dollar charge for the Saturday. Neither have been refunded as of yet. There was no parking for us, the bathroom had black mold. The shower head came up to my husband's chest. Big fans running in the hall ways all day. You can get a much better hotel for the price.

    When we checked in they put us in an area that you had to climb stairs to get to room, long way to go with several trips with luggage, when I asked different front desk clerk, we found out hotel was not full and they were able to move us. Maid knock on door on day 2, before we were ready to leave, we explained that we were just getting ready and would leave shortly, upon returning in evening the maid never did come back and do cleaning service. The pillows in the room are small and very soft, not comfortable at all

    If you need a good place to stay in south Edmonton, I, heartily recommend the Best Western Cedar Park Inn. Our room was newly renovated and all furniture, including the bed, had been recently replaced. It's really nice staying in a room that had brand new furniture. The price for our visit was very reasonable, and we were very impressed with this property.

    We stayed at this hotel for one night. The only good thing about it is its location, if you are driving down from Calgary. The hotel itself looked rundown, the room was some what ok. The staff is either ignorant or rude. There were fliers from some local restaurants, slided underneath the door. There was a pungent smell in the hallway.

    The hotel hallway outside our room smelled like wet moldy carpet. We mentioned it twice to staff who did not offer any explanation or compensation. The room also had an odor but opening the window aired it out okay. The water pressure was too low to flush toilets properly and the solids would not go down and staff were slow to respond to our complaint. Poor temperature control in the suite (kids room) resulting the kids getting very hot overnight while asleep - set for 18 but temperature rose from 20 to 24 during the night. I would not ever stay here again unless major repairs were completed.

    I stayed here once on business before the renovations. Renovations are not the highest quality, but have really updated this hotel since my last visit. Location on Calgary Trail at the South end of Edmonton is really handy for me. This is not a luxury hotel, but it is reasonably priced, particularly with my AMA discount. So I would say overall it is a very good value. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. The bathtub faucet has awkward temperature control and requires some fiddling.

    Easy to get to on both Gateway and Calgary trail. Check in staff are very friendly and attentive. Housekeepers smile and are polite when passing in the halls. Renovations are beautifully done. Love this hotel.

    I like this hotel it is close to shopping and many places we like to go in Edmonton! Easy to get in and out and the staff is always friendly and courteous! They have bar and restaurant and so close to so many stores and restaurants, if you like walking, many in walking distance! if you prefer a bit quieter as far as street noise, do request back rooms, large metal plate on roadway at one end of front rooms and can be quite noisy when transports zoom by, but traffic is much quieter from 11pm to the early AM hours!

    I travelled to Edmonton for business and my stay at the best western was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. If I travel to Edmonton again I will stay at this hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good value for their dollar

    This hotel is under new ownership and is currently being remodeled. That being said. The first room we checked into seemed just fine until the smoke detector started going off and the AC quite working. I went back to the main lobby and told the clerk about the problem. He quickly gave me a new room. The second room and no placard for the room number just some tape on the wall with the room number on it. The had to be just about kicked open due to paint build on the door and frame of the door. We got into the room to discover the thermostat had not been installed yet thus the AC was not going to work. At this point I was tired and just went to bed. the following days everytime time we used the magnetic key reader at the door, the cards kept dropping the magnetic information and had to get re-magnetized every day. The room it self was clean the bed was not to hard. Overall I would find somewhere else to stay until they are done with the remodel and they figure everything out.

    Enjoyed an exciting week-end cheering our gymnasts at the Nationals in Edmonton. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff were professional and helpful. The location is convenient to the University and the historic Strathcona District.

    We booked for the Track and Field Provincials. We specifically had asked to be on the same floor as rest of our team. She said yes, and confirmed we were. We arrived to find us scattered through the hotel. They put us on the first floor, which I cannot tell you how horrid it was. There are no numbers telling you where these rooms were. Nothing on the walls saying that first floor rooms are this way. Nope. Our room was 7 stairs for my mother who doesnt do stairs with no railing for her. The hotel door was something I cannot explain. The room was so small. The beds were lumpy and the pillows were cushions not bed pillows. There was two that didnt fill the bed. The floor was dirty that I had discovered after taking a bath. They didnt provide towels for the next day or even face cloths. We got one towel and no face cloths for day 2. No cups - nothing. The breakfast they put us downstairs and it was gross. The sausages looked like something foreign. Never, ever ever again. Too hot, too gross. I would drive further to get a better quality than to stay here again.

    Quick review ... very good price because of the ongoing reno, very quiet, close to major shopping and major thorough fares for getting around the city easily, across the street from MacDonalds, Tony Romas, and Superstore. This property is of an age. The new management is taking it through a serious step change to modern European ... sleek, clean lines, cool tones, lots of tile, stone, and glass, uncluttered. Loved the cookies and lemon water at check in. Hotel clerk was friendly and efficient. Lots of parking. Close to absolutely everything. Very quiet. The noise from the VOL machines in the lounge is really annoying. The kitchen is doing the best it can under current conditions. If you have the time, go elsewhere. Lots of oriental restaurants in that end of town as well as the usual. If you are ordering draft, stick to the high volume types. Did not use the pool or exercise room so I have so no comment. Generally, I would stay there again just because the price was so good ... and to check on their progress.

    Cons: No curtains on windows, only sheers, so the blazing lights from the shopping area across the street were streaming in the room all night. Don't book for the pool - it's tiny. Very noisy - slamming doors, screaming, shouting and running along the halls - front desk did nothing after I complained. Phone didn't work in room and was never replaced. Pros: microwave and good-sized bar fridge in room.

    Must state one thing and that is that the beds were excellent. They have since updated but have the natural brick look. The hotel does appeal to large sport groups and can be noisy. Would also request a room on the back side instead of facing the street. I guess it depended on what shift was working if they remembered what you called down for.

    This place needs a real restaurant and bar. Amazing that a major renovation would not have dealt with this. Otherwise this is a very good hotel. I had to take family guests elsewhere for dinner. The location is good and reasonably accessible to the airport.

    We usually stay at the Cedar Park Inn when in Edmonton due to its location to the UofA hospital as well as to my wife's work location. They have renovated the hotel since the last stay with the most notable differences being the lobby, restaurant, and lounge. The room was ok, but not spectacular and the neighbours were loud. I guess if you want a reasonable place to stay in Edmonton this place will do.

    My husband and I decided to spend a couple of nights in the city so we could do some relaxing, some shopping and other fun things. The hotel seems to have had a renovation so the building is quite bright and clean. Our room was spacious and our king bed was very, very comfortable. My only issue is that the pillows are too soft. Other than that the checkout process was pretty fast. It was easy for us to get to where we wanted to go as it is located in the south side of Edmonton and that is where most of the sites we wanted to go to are located.

    We booked online with Expedia, a room with 2 queen beds for 2 adults and a dog, was told the dog $20 non- refundable which I was ok with. When we arrived at the hotel in early morning after our long travel , we did not have the dog but we were ok with not getting refunded for it. What we were upset about was that because I would of had a pet, they gave me a room that was under construction. The whole bathroom had been plastered and not painted, there was plaster dust all over the room, the baseboards along the wall was removed and in the middle of the room and the room had not been sanitized. My husband went to the desk to see the desk agent to complain and ask if there was another room that they could change us to and was told that there was another room but that the sheets on the bed would have to be changed, my husband went to visit the room with a hotel employee and the room had not been sanitized. My husband went back to the desk to request our money back as we were not going to stay there under those conditions, the agent never apologized and said that there was a room with a king bed, so he offered us that room, I would say that the room left something to be desired. What got us mad is that they charged us $140 for the night for a room that I would not even let my dog sleep in. The agent never apologized or offered a rebate or nothing for making us feel that just because we travel with a pet that we should be treated so low and made to offer your garbage rooms. I am very insulted. I will never go to this hotel again and I will also post this on social media. The rooms were so bad that I took pictures and will be posting them of how bad the room are.

    « Service Good, Room terrible. »

    Reserved an executive king suite but received a queen Jacuzzi room. Room given was to small as was the bed and asked for a King bed. The suite we reserved was under renos but we were not advised or asked if something else would be better. Staff were professional and polite but should pay more attention to details. The room we finally were given had a king bed but was still being cleaned, so not ready...after settling in we realized it was very warm so we tried to adjust a/c but the thermostat was locked.No air blowing in from vent and the temp was increasing. 2 staff checked then advised us that there are no maintenance staff working. WHY? So we had to open window all night and listen to noisy city traffic all night. Finishes from renos were terrible. Very shoddy work. Crown moulding missing, door jagged from being trimmed. My romantic weekend wasn't as I had planned and hoped for.

    This is a great little hotel. It is near major roads so you can access all parts of the cities. There are many dining options near by. The room on the 5th (top) floor was quiet and newly renovated. I found the bathroom counter to be lower which is great for children but may be an annoyance to tall people.

    We had to stay at this hotel for one night while our home was getting some work done to it. The front desk staff were very friendly and they upgraded our room for us. The room was generally clean except for some black hairs in the bedding and it looked like the previous person had spilled coffee down the side of the bed skirt. The bathroom and the rest of the room was clean. The main thing that would stop me from staying at this hotel was how loud the traffic was during the night. This was in no way the hotels fault but it did cause me to get very little sleep. We stayed on the southside of the building and we could hear extremely loud cars racing back and forth during most of the night. Regular traffic nose was not a problem though. Overall the hotel was okay; however, the traffic noise was a problem.

    The staff is exceptional, they make a business traveler feel like he is stay at a friends place. Will stay here again, for both personal and business. The hotel is very comfortable, and the overall cost are exceptional.

    There was no mention of construction when booking. Every piece of gym equipment was broken, the was kind of soapy scum floating on the pool. The hallways were so dark you couldn't tell if the carpet was filthy or if it was just a dark colour. The duvet cover was dirty and wasn't changed. The hallways and new doors look like something you would see in a institution

    We stayed for 2 nights in late March. Our room was above average! Customer service was good. They were in the final stages of construction so the restaurant / lounge was not quite complete with some ceiling work and fixtures to complete installation. But setting that aside the food was very good and affordable! There was convenient and ample parking while we were there. Overall I would recommend the place to friends.

    I live 3 hours from Edmonton,and monday at midnight , my husband had a health emergency and we were told to get him to U of A hospital that night. After being in the ER for several hours, he was admitted to,the hospital. I don't know Edmonton that well and at 630 am I find myself needing A hotel and stumbled across this one. They had a room and told me even tho it was 630 am I had to pay a fullnight rate. That was fine . I expected that. I probably looked like the wreck I was and they said if I had someone in hospital and if I had this in writing from hospital, they could reduce my rate. Good deal. Ended up staying there three nights before he was discharged. I tried to get written verification, but hard to track down a doctor and when they came in a team of six, they came and went quickly , and with all the info they were giving us, I didn't want to interrupt them for a hotel discount. Asked nurse and she couldn't sign and said to ask admissions and lady there couldn't sign. So I took a picture of his hospital bracelet and showed to desk clerk. Desk clerk said they needed this in writing but did agree to giving me Their discount which was thirty dollars off a night. Fantastic When I went to checkout the next morning, and noticed my statement gave me the reduction on first and third night But not second night . So I asked new desk clerk and explained to him and he said nothing showed on file and it has to be in writing etc etc I was on my last nerve, started to cry and said just forget it and walked away. He called after me but I had to keep going . So would I stay there again? Probably not as they didn't honor what they had offered me Hotel was clean, rooms large , well equipped, comfortable bed. No restaurant but lounge had a full menu. Eleven minutes from the hospital If anyone finds them self in a similar situation, make sure you get something in writing from referring doctor before you get to the hospital. We never thought of that being we were in such a panic to get there

    Stayed here for a week for work as my company had it listed on their approved hotel list. Check in was seamless. Roomss.... 1st room I checked in was very hot on the 4 th floor. I unpacked turned down the thermostat and went for dinner. Upon my return, I came into my room finding it still at 24 degrees. Checked and the a/c had not cut in. I called the front desk and they advised me to check the dial on the a/c unit. I stated I had and it was not coming on. The front desk attendant stated he would send someone up. A few minutes later a knock at the door finding a lady with room keys for another room on same floor. I packed up and moved to room number 2. This room was equally as hot at 24 however the a/c fan seemed to come on at least. I turned down the thermostat to 19 and went to sleep. Overnight the room did not cool at all. Next day same thing, room did not cool down. I checked with other co workers staying here in different rooms, however, they also had similar complaints with heat so I never bothered to try another room. Cleaning staff came in however did not replenish the small things like mouthwash etc in my bathroom. Overall hotel is in expensive, but glad I didn't bring family here... We will be advising our company to take hotel off of the approved list...!

    The hotel is undergoing some renovations. The rooms we had were updated and clean. I liked some of the retro 60's items they kept, like the wall unit in the bathroom! There were a few rough items in the room, for example the fridge had a huge dent in the door and there was the residue of a sticker someone had put on the door. The bathroom door was poorly painted (you could see all the rough areas where paint had peeled away and they did not sand before repainting). However overall the hotel was good. We had breakfast in the morning and unfortunately we could not charge the bill to our room, which was inconvenient. The server that morning was very busy and worked hard to keep the diners happy.

    Hotel was nice enough, customer satisfaction could use work. Booked stay with air miles and hotel was unwilling to honour the confirmation which said breakfast was included...one of the main reasons I booked this hotel as I was travelling with a party of four. Since we were already in edmonton and the airmiles were used we were at the mercy of the hotels management. Room was good, avoid stairwells--not clean and quite dark. Location was fine easy access to everything we needed and many restaurants close by. I will not stay here again due to the breakfast issue and there are many other choices near by.

    My son and I recently stayed at this hotel and I was beyond disappointed and I'm not one to complain. First off, we came home with strange bites and was told this hotel has had bed bugs before. So I suspect that hasn't been rectified! The pool was disgusting - after my son's first dip, he was throwing up a couple of hours later. The next morning we checked the pool and the water was murky and there was a film over top! Unacceptable. Instead of dealing with it, we were told that's just how it is. The front desk staff were incredibly rude - to everyone. If there was an issue, they couldn't be bothered to do anything about it. The rooms were dirty. Upon checking in, there was dirt all over the floor and garbage still left in there. The only thing I could say is that I was satisfied with the staff in the restaurants. They were very pleasant. I will never stay here again and have warned friends and family. I am easy to please but this hotel was filthy!

    Was a great value for a quick overnight stay. Rooms were comfortable and hotel was generally quiet; noise from TV and guest next door wasn't desirable. For south side Edmonton this hotel is a good option as most others in the area are right adjacent to major routes and hence noisy. While I prefer to stay downtown I'd stay here again given similar circumstances.

    « Nightmare on Gateway Boulevard! »

    My family and I chose this hotel for its close proximity to the Edmonton Hospitals. Although the rooms are dated they are clean and comfortable, with not much to complain about aside from an exposed pipe at the corner of the room- easily forgotten. We were satisfied with our experience until the door between our adjoined rooms was closed by a gust of wind- with a four month old baby trapped inside of the room by herself! Normally, you would just request another key, however the door was latched, providing no way of getting through the door. The conjoining doors had no door knobs or access either. We called maintenance, who admitted they didn't have a toolbox and instead ran and got PIE CUTTERS and a BUTTER KNIFE!!!! They then disappeared for about 45 minutes, stating they were "Looking into it." Finally we called the fire department who came and opened the door with a bolt cutters, naturally. Two seconds later, maintenance shows up with bolt cutters- just after the firemen opened the door already. It literally took 3 minutes from the end of the call for the professionals and 45 minutes for the hotel to figure out that bolt cutters can open up doors... I will let you decide for yourself, if you want to stay here. Keep in mind though, if you choose to stay here- don't trust trust the staff to be able to handle normal situations- DO IT YOURSELF.

    « Worst Stay Ever! Will NEVER stay in a bug ridden hotel again!! »

    Stayed with a sports team, We got a dirty room when we check in, asked to move to another room but they were "full" so could not move us. not one offer to clean the room for us, Garbage beside the bed, hair in the bathroom.. thats not all.. we had to go to a late game that night so we just grabbed our gear and left. we came back and of course nothing was cleaned (didn't expect it). went to go to bed that night and when we pulled the sheets back we saw little specks of blood on the sheets. looked more and found bed bugs. I called the front desk livid at about 930pm. They offered to move us into a Room that they mysteriously found since they told me earlier they were "full' We of course did not move rooms, we left the hotel. Had to leave our bags in the back of our truck that night and take stuff to the laundry place to get cleaned. I asked for a manager to call me back and no one ever has. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone ever. I will be making sure that our board of directors for the sports league black lists this hotel!! AWFUL!!!

    Strange layout at reception and the building seems very out of date. Room beds very saggy and mould and rust in bathrooms. Whole building seemed worn out. Parking lot full of potholes. Please just dies not have a good feel to it and the bar was quite a depressing area.

    BAD, BAD, BAD Garbage all over the hotel. Smell of raw sewage all night. A red spot with hair on my sheet, eww NO! Partying neighbours, crawling on the ledge, smoking and looking in my window. Guy passed out in the hallway in the morning. Uhmmm NO!

    We were going to stay here using our BW points and now we know why it was so cheap. The hotel is dirty and our room was not the room I booked online it was tiny. It had a jacuzzi but no way I was going to use it. We got off the elevator on our floor to garbage everywhere. So gross. I went to front desk to get the room I booked but the attitudes of the front desk staff made us decided enough was enough and told them we weren't staying there and would like our points redeemed, considering our actual room wasn't even ready after 4 (which is the check in). So we called south edmonton best western, got a room in a cleaner hotel and the front desk staff at south edmonton are way more helpful and understanding. Plus they upgraded us for free. I will be writing them a way better review than this hotel. Will never consider staying here again it's not worth it.

    This Hotel was very easy to find and had excellent room rates. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful with all our questions in regards to close by attractions. It does look a little out dated but the room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I will stay again for sure.

    There is a sign saying renovation is underway and the lobby has changed from the last time we visited, it is brighter than before. Aaron upgraded us to a newly renovated room, and that is beautiful and comfortable with everything new. The housekeepers and Keith all greeted us and asked us how's everything. We will definitely come back when we are in town, can't wait to see how everything looks like when reno is done.

    it was the Best Western WORST STAY EVER. First room too hot no view unless you like looking and listening to a loud heater. Aside from deteriorating bed and the lack of anything nice the place was a rat place. Moved to new renovated room we've got... still too noisy too loud furnace sound. the taps are backward hot/cold. shower taps are loose not installed properly.

    The hotel is under renovations but we had no complaints with anything. The bed was very comfortable. Great location and the staff was very friendly at checkin and checkout. We went to the lounge for a drink while we waited for our friends to arrive and the staff was great too.

    I've stayed at diff. BW hotel in alberta. I would say this hotel is the worst when it comes to providing a good service. I didn't even see the 2 front desk agent smiled to greet. No free breakfast offered. I understand that they are undergoing maintenance on the property and i must say that they made the room nice but i wasn't informed that they don't have local cable available neither. The only option was to watch a paid movie. The exhaust fan in the washroom seems very old and noisy. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my friends.

    Have stayed here multiple times in the past. Before the renovations it was an affordable and great place to stay. The decor and rooms were outdated, but the hot breakfast buffet was fantastic...bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, home fries etc., and service great! Now with the renovations happening, I have found a lot of things have gone down hill. -The breakfast is now basically a normal continental breakfast with the addition of bacon and a pre-made frozen omelette. They have also added a waffle maker to the mix, which if it's not busy, great to have fresh waffles, but if there is a lot of people eating breakfast, you'll have to wait. -In my recent stay, my tv didn't work. I was one of the lucky ones that was able to switch rooms as I did not need to be in a double occupancy room. -Hallways are still messy and have equipment everywhere...yet the nightly room rate has gone up. In other hotels that I have stayed in where renovations are happening, usually the nightly room rates are lowered to offset the mess and disruptions. This has not been the case. -Water pressure in the showers are non-existent. If you happen to shower during peak times, good luck in getting hot water. -On a recent stay, I was instructed by our company to pay for it on my credit card and then get reimbursed. Our company did submit their credit card on file when they first set up the booking and notified the hotel staff that each person staying there will be paying on their own credit card. When I proceeded to check out, the hotel employee argued with me that I was not to pay for it on my card, but it would be charged to the card on file. I mentioned to him that I have specific instructions that I was to charge it to my card, but he continued to tell me that I was wrong. I finally got fed up and let him charge the company card. -If you're in a two queen bed room, and have the new furniture in it, you'll find it very cramp as the new furniture is wider and longer than the older furniture and thus leaving very little room to walk around or even sit back in the "reclining" office chair they have in the room. Overall, it will be interesting to see what the hotel will be like after renovations, both from the service, food and price point.

    My pastor association had a seminar at Edmonton for 2 days. I booked 14rooms with this hotel. Hotel is under renovation so It was little bit noisy other than that our entire group was happy to stay there. Location is great. We stayed at 4th floor which is done for renovation. I could see there are few minor thing still need to improve but we were quite happy to stay with this hotel. I like to give special thanks to manager steve. He taken care of my group from check in to check out, from early morning to late at night. I like to see this hotel goes to success.

    This is a bit of a combined review, as my husband was more disappointed than I, and would rate as a 1. First - and most important - I think if a hotel is going to be under MAJOR renovations, to the point where it really affects functionality, it should offer a discount. On the plus side - the bed was very comfortable (both the bed itself and the lovely linens), room temperature was fine, the bathroom had new fixtures, and the service in the restaurant was really, really good. Negatives - pretty much everything else. I think the tone of our stay was epitomized by our experience in the restaurant - where it was in the midst of a renovation and looked a mess. I sat in a chair that felt wobbly and perhaps should of known better - when I reached down to pull my seat up I pinched my hand between the loose leg and seat and ended up bleeding all over the place. Here is where the service comes in - all three gentlemen in the restaurant were very kind and concerned, offered me first aid, apologized profusely, and gave me a free dessert. I was completely satisfied with their response to my injury, and their solicitous service throughout dinner. The food was incredibly mediocre, but the chef came out to speak to us and I told him it was lovely because he seemed very nice and I didn't want to hurt his feelings ;-) But the room! Oh my goodness...they said they "upgraded' us to a renovated room, and if this information was indeed correct, they should be asking their contractor for some money back. The ceiling was a MESS of patchwork repairs and stucco gobbed on top, the fixtures in the bathroom were so loose that water is definitely going to seep in behind and ruin the drywall in no time at all (seriously - have a look before you pay the guys. My husband is in a similar field and spotted this in no time). The bathroom door was scarred, peeled and patched, so it looked pretty tacky. These visual distractions are why hubby would score this a "1". There was also the most unbelievable noise that continued until about 10:00 pm. We THINK it was renovation noise...perhaps a mitre saw or power drill? I suppose it could also have been plumbing or elevator - but if so the aforementioned appliance is possessed by unhappy spirits. And the room vent let us hear every unhealthy cough and hack of the gentleman next door! Breakfast was your typical "brought in on a truck" sort of continental, but was offered in an inaccessible basement room down a flight of stairs (so I guess handicapped people don't get to eat?), and that room was full of renovation materials, spare chairs and tables, etc. I would have been much more professional to offer this breakfast at LEAST in the main floor restaurant area. But, you know, thank god for the Raisin Bran, because apparently they won't be offering complimentary breakfast after this week, once the restaurant "officially" opens. We hoped to unwind in the pool area, and will confess we didn't actually try it. There is no hot tub, and the area itself was so dismal and dreary that it put us off and we decided to go upstairs and just watch some TV instead. Hubby attempted a bath, but with no water pressure he ran out of patience and gave up. I should say that the room WAS very clean, but if I had been planning a stay of longer than one night I would have checked out early. I travel to Edmonton for work and pleasure several weeks a year, and thought I would try this hotel to see if it was a possibility for future trips. Unfortunately, I have no plans to return.

    The hotel was in a state of renovation. I knew that in advance and was not majorly inconvenienced by it. The room was cramped with excessive furniture and overheated. The bathroom was uncomfortable. The elevators slow. No elevator service to lower level for breakfast service. Overall not handicapped friendly in my opinion. The breakfast was a disaster. Unattended, absence of food, requests ignored. I cannot recommend this hotel.

    This is a great hotel: nice clean room, good service, and good hot breakfast. The location is ideal to go in most places in Edmonton (but you need a car - if you don't have a car, go to a hotel on White avenue or downtown instead). Though located in between Calgary Trail and Gateway Boulevard, the rooms are very quiet (they did a good job on sound insulation) and we had great nights of sleep.

    We had an overnight stay in this hotel (January 22, 2016, checking out the next day). The hotel was under full renovation including lobby and public space at that time but still accepted booking. We requested a more quiet room but the hotel gave us a first floor room adjacent to the parking stall (located just outside our window). In this room we could hear people talking and shouting, children crying up until past midnight. There were also barking dogs in a room near us, maybe two doors to our right. We are allergic to animal fur and this was an unpleasant surprise. We did not know that this hotel allows pet inside the room. Nothing against these animals but we were not informed that it is how they operate. We could just have picked another hotel where we can find a proper spot where we can take care of our health. We hardly had a wink of sleep and we started coughing intermittently until we finally decided to wake up. As far as cleanliness, it's average to good.     Booked spa suite for two nights, room dirty, needed redoing g, rugs, walls, upgrading. JACUZZI took one hour to fill, out of hit water. Reported, little action. Kept 2nd day, then out. Poor compensation, little done. Not a way BEST WESTERN, should be. Have been there before, not impressed. Return, not likely. BEST WESTERN you let me down. CLIFF.

    I have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years and it has really come a long way! They are still doing renovations, but the 4th and 5th floors are complete and are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! We stayed on the 4th floor and the decor is modern, all the furnishings/carpet/beds are all brand new and elegant. The room was comfortable and spacious. The restaurant is only open for breakfast at the moment, but they do have a deluxe continental which had omelets, sausage and your standard breakfast items as well as a waffle station with fruit and whipped cream. The hotel is close to South Common shopping center and the staff is very helpful.

    The temperature in our room was 12 C all the time. We practically froze. We received space heaters, but they tripped the breaker. They did give us a break on the bill, but should of got our night for free in my opinion

    A typical 50 year old hotel that is being refurbished while still staying opened. The restaurant was closed, it was noisy. There were wires everywhere. The drawers would not stay shut. On the good side it's location is great and the staff were very pleasant.

    I always like to stay at Cedar Park Inn Great location where you can find everything ones needs as far as shopping, restaurants etc... and great staff every time I have been there, even the maids have great big smiles A bit older but clean and some parts are being renovated so will be tip top at some point, I never heard any noise from renovations so a good thing!

    This hotel is under construction but there are signs posted in the lobby advising of this. The room had a slight odor but was otherwise clean, the bed fairly comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked without issue, and parking was provided. I found the staff friendly, and the one night stay rate was reasonable. I would stay here again.

I would stay here again. the area is nice as well. it is close to the university so if you have things going on there you have quick access there.

    Even with the construction overall the stay was alright. Our family room suited us very well. Our disappointment came when We left an item behind in our room and called within a couple hours after check out and realizing we didn't have it. We were told we could come back and look however we would not get there until the afternoon due to the reasons we were in the city. Sad part is they "never found it". We are certain it was left there as we went to take it out of our vehicle at our destination and it wasn't there.

    Everywhere is construction. Really should be cheaper. OK room. Thought I smelt smoke this morning. Breakfast is good. Easy to get late check out. Pool was chilly. For some reason I thought there was a hot tub. FYI I was wrong. Get to breakfast before 9:30 - already out of bacon. Overall decent. Points lowered for construction and having only 1 front desk staff.. and breakfast really could go to noon on Sunday but does anyone do that?

    The hotel is about a 15-20 minute drive to the downtown area, conveniently located between the downtown area and the airport. That was a big plus for me. The room was just right, and the hot breakfast had plenty of options. The staff was very friendly.

    Loved this Hotel! The rooms were freshly renovated and I especially thought the bathroom (with completely everything new) was so modern and beautiful. The Hot breakfast was such a pleasant surprise and we ate there all three mornings. We were travelling from B.C......... so it felt great to arrive here after a 10 hour drive through the Rockies and just relax. We also found the front staff to be warm and friendly. We will make sure we stay here again next time we are in town.

    We were going to two different venues in Edmonton, on two different days. This hotel gave us easy access to both. The front staff was helpful and allowed us a later check out when we asked. The room attendants friendly, as was the front desk. They were renovating the hotel and apologized for the appearance. They explained what the final result would be. I would go back there again. Even had a hot breakfast included in the price..

    We stayed here for 1 night with my family. The staff are friendly though we arrived really late from a long drive. They assist and they give the thing we asked in our reservation. The rooms are huge and very comfortable bed,clean and organize. The location is perfect, easy to find and near in some tourist activities.

    I have stayed at this hotel a few times and you won't find a nice hotel in this price range in Edmonton! It is minutes away from the South Common shopping center/outlet malls and is only $100 a night. There is a free breakfast buffet (with omelets, sausage, waffles, etc) as well as a pool. The rooms are beautiful as they have been recently renovated. The entire hotel is presently being renovated and will be even better once its finished. This is my new go-to hotel in Edmonton! LOVE Best Westerns

    Staff was helpful and location was great. I liked the location the most as it was central to everywhere I needed to go. Clean rooms and a great brand new elevator located near the room I stayed in. Lots of parking, shopping and restaurants across the street.

    If you are going there, I have to questions: 1) why are you going to Edmonton? There is nothing to do there! I swear... Nothing!! And unless you're driving, everything will be far or demanding at least two buses, as much as the counter girl suggested me to take a taxi instead. Besides, its location is also not easily reachable to the airport ($40 at least)! Second question: if you really want to go to Edmonton, why stay in this place? No reason! No reason AT ALL. The carpet was so dirty that I found women objects on the floor, which clearly shows that it's not vacuumed at all. The room is big enough but I stayed in the one faced to the parking lot, which you can imagine the sound, the lights and everything bad about it. Besides, walls are very very very thin and you can hear them using toilette, shower, etc. When they use toilette, it looks they are inside your room! Just bizarre!!! At last, the worst staff I ever found! When I checked in, I asked for a map, the woman said they didn't have one and asked where I wanted to go: I said, I didn't know yet what we had to see around in Edmonton and asked for a recommendation... She nicely suggested me to google it! But the cherry on the cake was on the checkout day, when I had previously been allowed to have a late checkout (12AM instead of 11AM), but at eleven o'clock, when I was in the SHOWER, a men knocked Insistently on the door and I screamed from the bathroom to the man not get into the room and the guy started asking when I was going to leave, at what time I'd be done!!! Come on I was in the shower and he was in the room!!!! Have you ever seen something like that? I hadn't... So far! You deserve better than this! Believe me!

    Overall, our stay was so smooth that we didn't notice much about the hotel. That's praise, not a put-down. It takes a lot of work to be good without the work showing. We wanted a quiet break, and that's what we got. I have the feeling that they could fuss over people who wanted that sort of thing, but they're good at letting you be.

    Stayed in May 2015. Pros: - Close to South Edmonton Commons - Easy to navigate to - Free parking - Decently priced - Clean Cons: - Room had no heat - Large water stain on the ceiling - Room is dated looking, especially with the brick wall - No continental breakfast - Parking spaces were limited at the time of our stay - Slow wi-fi Details: It was chilly on the last night so we turned on the heat, but nothing happened. When we called down to the front desk, they said it takes a while. After waiting a while we called down again saying there was no heat in the room. Maintenance came up and checked the thermostat. He wasn't particularly friendly and we were told again that the heat takes a while to come on. It never did. We called down and finally they brought up a space heater. We opted for the space heater rather than changing rooms since it was our last night. Front desk offered to provide us breakfast while we were checking out, but since we had to leave we didn't accept. It would've been nice had they offered when we kept calling originally so that we could adjust our schedule. I would stay here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

    The Best Western Cedar Park Inn in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada was a great place to rent a room. The front desk staff that I dealt with the most were Jane & also Joy. They were very easy and pleasant to do business with. The location was very central to everything and everywhere I had to go. The rate was very good. I would definitely stay here again and I would also recommend this hotel to family & friends.

    This was a very good value for the price we paid : $96 for one night with my Best Western card. The room keys didn't work twice when we arrived but then the receptionist came back with us to the room and fixed the problem. The pool was very nice and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. The service was very good.

    Overall very good experience! I was a bit skeptical before my arrival, having read some negative feedbacks on line. It's important to stress that for my family & I, our two-night experience in the two rooms we stayed in was very good. However, we would have preferred two adjoining rooms with interconnecting door but I fully understand that the hotel would have provided that if available...

    Better than average hotel on a main thorough fare. It is easy to locate and the staff is always pleasant. It is economical and suitable for a business traveller. It was undergoing renovations so the outside of the building was a bit of a mess but inside it was very nice.

    « Great Price, Not such great staff »

    So the hotel price was great. But the staff were unprofessional and really didn't seem to care about the guest experience. Did not tell me about the internet or the lounge or if the hotel had any amenities. I went up to the desk where they were chatting with other staff. Waited for them to finish with their conversation then he asked for my ID and Credit Card confirmed for two nights and NOTHING ELSE. really poor attitude. But because of the price might stay there again.

    « Terrible, definitely not the "Best" »

    Although renovations have been started at this hotel our room was definitely not. We had mildew on the ceiling in the bathroom, the shower head was disgusting, the sink did not drain, the dresser was broken, the mirror was broken, and the fridge was full of dents. I have honestly never done a review like this before but I was so dissatisfied I thought I would let others know. I have stayed in many other old hotels before that were still presentable but in my opinion my room should not have been rented out until totally redone. There is no excuse for renting a room that has visible mildew in it!

    I recently stayed at this hotel with a realative for an Edmonton event. I travelled from Calgary and he travelled from Fort McMurray. I recommended this hotel as I had stayed there in the past for work travel as an alternative when my preferred hotel was booked to capacity. A day after I got home from the event I notced I had a weird rash on areas of my body. My back, my arms and my neck. Later that day I recieved a text from my relative who stayed there as well ask me if I had any weird looking bites or rashes as he had them too. It's too much of a coincidence that we both got them at the same time after staying at the same hotel. We had the same conclusion that there must have been bed bugs. Will be reaching out to the hotel to let them know.

    « good but needs renovation »

    This is still a good hotel, but definitely needs renovation. All four days I stayed there, the room was very nicely maintained and kept clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable and having four (!) pillows for myself I had no problem to sleep well. The hotel is well situated to have not too expensive (about $40) connections with the airport, and with the rest of the city. There is the bus stop for the bus #6 almost at the entrance to the hotel, which goes to the big transit hub with good connection to the whole city. The hotel's restaurant is good, but a bit too expensive, but there is plenty of good restaurants within a walking distance from the hotel.

    This hotel is being renovated. The elevator and doors to the halls containing suites require the use of your room key. There is a variety of restaurants at all price points in the area. Lots of shopping near by but would be required to drive there.
