    « Nice Room & Nice People »

This hotel is on the other side of the river from Durango proper which makes it probably a little quieter but still quite convenient to everything. The people were all friendly and helpful. Our room actually turned out to be a suite and was very nice. The room had no overhead light fixtures but had bulbs of sufficient brightness in the fixtures that the room was bright and cheery. It also had a quiet AC with a fan setting to help with ventilation and noise masking. AND... If you are really into TV's, it had two of those. As I said, nice room! The breakfast was nice to and it was overseen by a nice lady named Debbie who took the time to acquaint us with the area. And, to top it all off, the restaurant next door, The San Marcos, was pleasant, tasty, and an all around good value. Overall, this is a very pleasant place to stay.

« GAVE US THE WRONG ROOM WOULDNT MAKE IT RIGHT »

We called to verify we were getting the room with the dinning room table. The room they gave us didn't have the dinning room table. when we called they just said too bad. We had plan to eat lunch and dinner in the hotel.

    « Very pleased »

Our room at this hotel was great. It was clean, it had new carpet, new linens and new furniture. It would have been nice to have a microwave but not having one does not factor into my rating. The continental breakfast was sufficient (same as others we've had).

    4
« Convenient and good deal »

I visit Durango regularly to see my son. Consequently,I've stayed in a lot places! D'go Inn and Suites was very pleasant and well priced. It is not walking distance to downtown but quite close I liked the arrangement of bedroom with 2 queens and small sitting room. I didn't need it this trip, but it will be a plus with grandkids staying with us in future.

    4
« Outdated but great location »

We stayed here for the location and pool for the kids - both are very good. Reasonably priced, excellent breakfast and happy hour included make this a great value. Rooms and decor are a bit outdated, but clean.

    « Typical Best Western »

Based on the good reviews in tripadvisor we booked this hotel in advance for a one night stay in Durango and we were not disappointed. All was clean and generally in a good condition. Wifi worked well, the staff on check in was friendly. We had the typical breakfast for hotel/motel.

    5
« Nice simple place to stay »

I was very pleased with all aspects of our stay. We had our dog with use, he's our kid. The accommodations were very pet friendly, having a large yard in the back. The breakfast was great, the room was spotless and very comfortable and priced fairly. We reall enjoyed our short stay.

    2
« Stay at the Holiday Inn Express! »

The good: The room was clean. The staff was very nice. The breakfast buffet was very good. The bad: We are traveling with our dog and that requires a quiet room, so she doesn't bark every 10 minutes when you are trying to sleep. These rooms face the parking lot with parking spaces 3 feet from the door. So you heard car doors, people walking up stairs and talking all night. So no sleep for us. There were also bugs on the wall of the hotel and the front desk guy told us about them and said to call them if they get in the room and he will spray them. Really? I gave then a one night chance to see if it was as bad as it seemed. The room itself was clean, but VERY small and out dated. The AC was in the very small bathroom. Just odd. We went down to the Holiday Inn Express and they matched the price and it was one of the best hotels we have stayed at. They would not match the price on the phone at their central reservations. So go there in person. All in all - bad stay.

    5
« Nice place to stay »

We checked in early on our date of arrival, staying two nights. The room was very quiet. Josh was great, recommending some great places to eat and answering all of our questions. Check in and out took minutes. The breakfast was really nice as well, fruit, cereal, hot items.

    3
    « One Night Stay »

Room was clean. Bathroom was very tight. Bed good. Little noisy. No elevator so must carry luggage upstairs if on 2nd floor. Wifi free and good tv. Free breakfast was above average. Right on hwy160 so convenient but couple miles outside of town on the west side.

    « A favorite in Durango! »

Our first time at this Best Western and we were pleasantly surprise at the spacious room. This hotel is nestled in a great little spot with nice views and a balcony on the back side of the room. Nice Breakfast and Good coffee too!

« This Best Western is Better than most BW »

I needed a hotel in Durango that was near the Durango-Silverton train. I have had poor results recently with BW chain. However this hotel was quite nice. The front desk agent recognized me as a Diamond level member and offered me an upgraded suite. I was pleasantly surprised, with the room and the service. I definitely recommend this hotel

    5
« Lovely setting and nice layout. »

Great bang for the buck in this lovely setting in beautiful Durango. It feels like home with both a front AND back door. Nice people and great decor make this a super place to stay and best of all, a real value.

    3
« Not bad for the competitive price. »

Room was clean and staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was overseen by dedicated employee so food was well stocked and area was clean. Stayed in double queen room which was cramped and the bathroom needed a little TLC.

    5
    « nice stay »

Had a nice stay here.Had a room with a queen bed, 2double beds, and a pull out sofa.Great shower, really comfortable beds and very quiet. They had a complimentary breakfast that satisfied. The rooms were very clean.Very close to downtown and all the downtown sights.

    5
    « Recently remodeled »

Check in was quick and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Complimentary wine and chilled water was available in the lobby. The hotel was in the process of remodeling their rooms and our room had been completed. The room was clean and very quiet and the beds were comfortable. Although it was not a problem for us, the bathroom area is small, the counter space is limited and there are no elevators to the second floor.

    5
« Nice motel and great location »

This motel is very nice and is located close to town. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms were quiet and clean. The hot tub area was very nice. Many items for breakfast, fresh and plentiful. Nice bonus was a happy hour with complimentary wine !

    5
    « Good Customer Service »

The room was very clean and comfortable. The customer service was excellent at check in and check out went very smooth. Beautiful views. Great location for local attractions. Very family friendly. We will return if we are ever In Durango, Co. again.

    2
« Not terrible if you get a good room rate but . . . »

Hotel is conveniently located and in process of being updated. Our room was small, too small for two queen beds. Bathroom was awkward and room smelled a bit. Front desk staff was helpful and welcoming.

    5
« Cool Spot to Stay At! »

Stayed here during a trip and it was an enjoyable stay. The pool is right in the lobby. Breakfast was good. Also, it was walking distance to many of the local shops and dining places. Would definitely stay here again.

    « An excellent choice »

What a pleasant surprise. We stayed here for 3 nights. We had a bedroom, bathroom and a seperate living room. 2 TV's. The beds were compfy. Pillows could have been a little flatter for me. Everyday ffom 4 to 6 there was wine available in the lobby. There was a nice patio to sit on and meet and visit with other travellers. The location was good. Easy to get out of town, also close to downtown Durango. Just a short drive. Spent 3 nights here and thouroughly enjoyed it. A wide variety for breakfast.

    4
    « Nice for pets. »

This is a nice place for people and pets. They gave us a room that opened to a beautiful grassy yard at the base of a mountain hill. The staff was great and very helpful. The breakfast area has a beautiful patio, where they also have a happy hour. I think if they updated the bathroom I would of give them a 5 star. It is tiny and dated. Otherwise great. Will stay there again.

    5
    « Pleasant stay »

I thought the room was very clean and comfortable. The sheets, bedding and towels were very clean and fresh. But the best part was Yolanda at check in. She was very concerned about our stay and she was very friendly and professional.

    4
    « Very comfy »

I always do my "Melchiorri room check" at every hotel we stay at. The AC was a bit noisy, but nothing we couldn't live with for a night's stay. It rattled. We told the front desk in the morning, and they expressed concern & said they'd get someone over to look at it. The only other thing was a lone nut on the floor up against the bed's base. I could see how you could overlook that with the dust ruffle. The rest of the room was clean and the bed was comfy.

    5
    « Great value! »

We were not expecting the high quality of the room or the value we received from our entire experience. Having a suite as well as a hot breakfast was great. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

    5
    « love this hotel »

It is convenient to town helpful staff, beautiful pool and surrounding area. I go for business and pleasure. I like the family friendly atmosphere. They have a hot tub beside breakfast area that is very nice.

    5
    « Excellent »

We always try to stay at a BW hotel. The beds are always clean and comfortable. Breakfast is always excellent. When we travel we are usually in different cities each night. Sometimes we drive further just to stay at a BW. We Like them that much!!

    3
    « Overpriced »

Clean but quite small . I think we were in the older part of the building. Bathroom very small, one queen bed was right up against the wall with the window. Bed about 18 inches from the dresser/TV. Towels thin and rough. Just stayed one night thankfully.

    4
    « Old but Nice »

This hotel is older, the rooms have been re-done but you can see it's age by the design and size of some of the rooms and bathrooms. The bathroom was very small in out room, no room to dry off. We had to go out into the hotel room to dry off after showers. The breakfasts were good. My only complaint is not the hotel's fault; it is the traffic noise of US 160 where the hotel is located. Luckily we had a suite and when the bedroom door was closed we did not notice it. This hotel is located far west in Durango and there is no congestion, it feels like you are in the mountains and in a way you are. The hotel backs up to the mountains which are very steep here. All in all we had a nice stay and would recommend this hotel.

    5
    « High value »

Very comfortable bed and room. Quiet. Well decorated. Friendly. Reasonable price for a late Holiday weekend booking. Well-run. The breakfast service was comprehensive, with good hot items and cold. Good internet. Good tv. They have it all together here, at a very fair price.

    « Smelled horrible »

Our room smelled of horrible body odor. Air conditioning doesn't work at night. We had booked 4 rooms over 6 months ago and they had us scattered all over the place. Breakfast was the only good thing about our stay.

    3
    « Durango Trip »

Walls were too thin. Room was extremely small. We heard what our neighbors were talking about. As a rewards holder I feel we were given the least desirable of what the hotel had to offer. The wine was a nice jester about arriving at 5:00!

    3
    « very average »

Unfortunately we were in a downpour on a motorcycle trip, and pulled into the first hotel in town. Overpriced, robotic staff, rooms need updating. On the plus side, private deck on back side of hotel, restaurant attached to hotel provided a break after riding in the downpour.

    1
    « Horrible Experience »

This motel is overpriced, old and outdated, rooms are super small, and a horrible smell pervades the rooms. I will not be staying at this BW again. This motel was originally built in the 60's and they have tried to "spruce it up" without doing a lot of renovations, which it desperately needs.

    5
    « Had a great time »

Our family really enjoyed our stay. I accidentally booked a smoking room online and very much appreciated the confirmation callback to check if this is really what we wanted. The only non-smoking room left was their suite with two king bedrooms and a balcony with a great view, which we upgraded to for a very reasonable price. The dining table and comfy living room were a nice bonus. The pool temperature was average (could have been warmer), but the water was clear & clean. The beds were comfortable, and breakfast was great. We will definitely stay here again if we ever are in the area!

    4
    « Decent »

The front desk staff was GREAT!! The breakfast was good but not great. The rooms are clean & well appointed w/ a mini fridge. The location could have been better. There's a shuttle that u can walk to in 5 minutes, runs till 10p& comes round every 20".

    3
    « Nice, but... »

The rooms were clean and of adequate size. The staff was friendly. Avoid the breakfast. Disgusting, undercooked scrambled eggs, overcooked bacon and sausage, watered down orange juice, lukewarm hot water for tea or oatmeal.

    5
    « Great Location »

We stayed here on our way to Grand Lake. It is a very convenient location as it is right of the highway. We had a king room on the first floor. Very quiet hotel. The room had a back door to some green space with great views. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was great. They were very helpful, giving us maps of the area and answering any questions we had. Breakfast is served at 6:30am.

    5
« Great place to stay »

Very clean hotel. Wine served from 4 til 6. Great outdoor hot tub. The breakfast has alot of chooses, from waffles to eggs and sausage, fruit, cereal and more. Easy location to access and close to town.

    5
« Great place to stay »

This is a great place for families to stay. A short drive less then 5 minutes to the train station and shopping. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is awesome. You have so many choices. Everything is very clean.

  • 4
    « Great Location »

We stayed here for four days and had a great time. The hotel is located in a prime location, close to old town Durango but far enough away to be quiet. It's a five minute drive to the train station and old town Durango. If you're in good condition it would be walkable but be aware of the elevation and traffic. Breakfasts were good and with a wide variety of selections. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing that kept me from rating them higher is the air conditioner is in the bathroom/dressing room and wasn't able to keep the whole room cool enough for this desert dweller. Even with that I would stay here again.

    3
« Basic hotel that could use an update »

Our Room was on the 2nd floor and since we were a family if 4 traveling for 2 weeks, we had quite a bit of luggage to carry up the stairs. I usually do not stay in a hotel that has outside access but we did not have any problems with noise or safety. The room was mostly clean. The bathroom could have used closer inspection because there was dirt in the corners. We all enjoyed the breakfast and the breakfast server was very friendly and did a great job keeping everything filled. There is a nice patio available so you can eat inside or out. There is a hot tub but it was not open during our stay. There is also an outdoor pool but we didn't use it because of the weather.

    5
« Thanks again for a wonderful stay... »

Came for the weekend again and used some of my points. Was sold out both nights... The customer service here is fantastic. Debbie, the breakfast lady, was back, and she is wonderful... The rooms are very nice. I prefer staying in a suite, but Durango hotel rates in the summer are pretty high. The beds are super comfortable, and there is plenty of room. There are no complaints here... A good addition might be a bench near the pet area in the front...just a thought.. Thank you again, and we will see you soon...

    3
« Clean and neat, needs a little updating »

Outdoor pool, but right at corner of busy road. Hotel was clean and did have a full breakfast, small dining area. A little updating to baths would be good. Room was comfortable and was quiet at night, a big plus.

    4
    « Nice room »

The suite is pretty sweet. The separate 'living room' was perfect. Most of the rooms have little outside balconies which are nice. They need a pool in the nice back yard area. Breakfast was standard; the server was working very hard. Nice outdoor patio area where you can eat breakfast.

    4
    « Would return again. »

Very friendly staff, great parking, nice breakfast, good beds. Rooms could use a little updating, and are a little cramped. Vanity in bathroom not big enough. But, overall, would come back next time. Really enjoyed our stay. Got great rate on AAA.

    2
« an absolute epic fail for customer service and ....... »

Need to reevaluate staff & to be re-adjusted for an employee revaluation. The guy who checked us in was Tyler & he reeked of alcohol. It's just unprofessional & makes this hotel look bad; Not just the hotel but the staff and management.

    3
« AVERAGE; PRICEY, AS ARE MOST HOTELS IN THE AREA »

PROS: Good location, room was clean, accomodating reservation desk, parking lot was easy to enter and exit, nice pool, nice breakfast room, mini-refrigerator in room. CONS: A/C didn't keep the room comfortable, no elevator, no microwave, no in-room safe, pricey (but most area hotels are), only one nearby restaurant/bar (Mexican) within walking distance, have to drive to other restaurants, maid knocked but did not announce herself as "housekeeping" before quickly opening door. OTHER INFO: Outside entrances, outside staircases.

    5
    « Great Vacation »

Clean room, great staff, comfortable beds, great location that is a short walk to downtown. We were always greeted with a smile and hello from all of the staff during our visit. I will stay here again if I'm ever this way.

    3
« Friendly Staff welcomes you with glass of wine! »

Convenient dog park behind motel & dog welcomed with treat bag! Bedroom is separate from den. Comfy bed & nice hot breakfast. A little dated, but clean & comfortable! A/C was a little iffy. Adjacent café was convenient!

  • 3
    « Not satisfied »

No ground floor rooms were available and there was no elevator so luggage had to be carried up stairs. I have stayed at many Best Western hotels in the US and abroad. The Durango Inn was expensive at $143.99 plus tax and not up to my usual expectations.

    3
« Better than the BW MTN Shadows »

As an avid Best Western traveler I have stayed at two BW properties in Durango Colorado They are both a bit overpriced for being outdated. However, we found the staff to be more pleasant than the encounter with the owner of the BW Mtn. Shadow property. Also rooms are a bit better, definitely closer to downtown.

    3
« Quick overnight stay, friendly staff »

We were driving through Durango after going up to Bayfield to pick our daughter up where she had been staying with family at vallecito reservoir. We wanted to ride the Durango train to Silverton the following day so we decided to stay in town for the night. We were originally going to stay the night elsewhere and needed a last minute hotel. We appreciated that we were able to book this room with convenience at last minute and staff at front desk was very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain train tickets so we decided to sleep in. We did not request a wake up call. We knew we planned on catching a little extra rest as we planned on taking a road trip through 3 natl parks upon leaving. The housekeeping knocked on door very loudly waking us up around 745-8 am. We said we were still resting and not ready and they must not have heard as they continued to knock. We should have put a do not disturb sign up, I take responsibility for that. But, we had not checked out yet. Also, the room does get a little warm due to a/c being near bathroom and away from beds. The water pressure in shower was also very low and took quite a while to shower so hubby ended up not showering that morning. It is somewhat outdated and there is a bit of a smell but I guess that's what keeps the price down.

    3
    « A/C placement left us warm »

The A/C unit is not in the bedroom area. It is in the area by the bathroom and sink which is separate from the bedroom. So the bathroom was very cold but the air did not make it to the bedroom. Made for warm sleeping conditions. Would work out best for winter months.

    3
    « Comfort With a View »

The 2 room suite was comfortable and had a small balcony in back with chairs. The views in the back are of a grass lawn and wooded mountain/hill. A nice change from seeing a busy road or other buildings accustomed to many other hotel/motel units. The staff was friendly and they serve complimentary wine around 6pm. It is about a 20 minute walk to the center of Main St. We were disappointed in the town taxi service (not hotels fault) but Uber and Town taxi took our voicemails for a needed ride but never responded so we drove. There is a restaurant and bar adjacent to hotel but we did not have time to visit.

    4
« A decent BW in Durango with clean and comfortable rooms and a very friendly staff »

I stayed one night in this Best Western and I liked it because the rooms are nice and clean. The location is close to downtown and the breakfast was one of the best ones I ever had at a Best Western, thank you for that! I also really liked the Crew at the Front Desk, they were extremely nice, friendly and helpful. Remarkable courteous! One only minus point is the highway next to the motel which is a little bit noisy sometimes. But I would return to this BW again!

    4
    « Great value »

Our suite was very spacious. The refrigerator was a good size for us, which is to say on the large size. The decor was modern. Cleanliness was good as well. The value was among the best on our trip. The hotel appears to have updated some aspects of the room with new tile in the showers. It was a bit out of place with some of the older fixtures. The pool was a little low on water and the hot tub had very little water pressure. The front desk told me the hot tub is being replaced at the beginning of August. The breakfast buffet was good with eggs, sausage and bacon, waffle station, oatmeal and cereal bar and some fruit, yogurt and juice. Would definitely consider staying here on our next trip.

    3
    « bathrooms to small »

bathrooms were less than adequate. Shower head had little water flow. To slow for a family to hurry to get ready. Toilet was to tight. Couch could have been newer. Did like the breakfast and double door entry to room. Back door to yard, front to parking. AC was good. Beds were good.

    5
« Reasonably priced, comfortable hotel »

Perfectly fine hotel close to town. They have a nice breakfast and the staff is very helpful and considerate. This is one of the better values in the area since many people travel to Durango in the summer and hotels get pricey fast. It's better to be conservative in lodging choice so you can enjoy many local activities. May have to drag bags up to second floor, but room is comfortable once you are there.

    4
    « great get away »

Ny stay at the BW in Durango was great. Location was great. Not right in town but easy access to get to anything I did. The staff terrific from check in to check out and help with anything I needed. Breakfast was good the staff keep on top of it all. The housekeep was very helpful. Didn't have them clean the room but supplied me with clean towels. Also supplied a mattress cover for the fold out couch to make it more comfortable. Help some, but those things are hard to make real comfortable no matter where it happens to be.

  • 3
    « Better than I expected »

I have never stayed at Best Western before but we had no other options when we arrived in Durango. It is not on the main area of town so you cannot walk anywhere but that want a big deal for us. The room was clean and air conditioner worked ok. I am also not a fan of outside entry doors in a hotel but the bedroom is in the back not on the wall way so you don't have to worry about noises. The breakfast was pretty good. Typical hot breakfast with a meat, eggs, and make your own waffles. It was priced more than I would have expected to pay for this type of hotel.

    4
    « My fifth stay »

The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean with comfortable beds (I rate 8/10) and decent pillows (although as a side sleeper I like a firmer pillow). The property is also well kept and the breakfast is well serviced. My only suggestion to management is that they decrease the size of the table, chairs, and hutch in the room as they take up too much floor space. Of course, this doesn't impact the quality of the room, really, just makes it feel cramped.

    4
    « This is a nice hotel »

This hotel is nice. It is older but nice. The staff very friendly and helpful. The only down side of this hotel is that it really doesn't have a easy place to take your dogs if you you have them with you. They have a nice backyard you can take them to but the only way to access it is through the lobby where the breakfast and snack area is. As a respectful dog owner I prefer not taking my dogs around food and areas where people eat. I also don't want to parade them through strangers. This can be very stressful for some dogs and for some people.

    4
    « Nice place »

I would definitely consider staying here again. The room was nice and the beds were comfortable. It was just a short drive into downtown Durango. It was also great to have a restaurant right next store so we could have a few drinks and not have to drive around!

    5
« Great place to stay »

We spent 2 nights here & we're very pleased. The staff was very friendly, the room a good size & very clean, and breakfast was tasty & filling. We're took advantage of the laundry facilities & pool as well. The property is within walking distance of Old Durango (less than a mile) as well as the Animas River trail. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a hotel in the Durango area.

    3
    « 2 nights in Durango »

This is a classic hotel, nothing extraordinary. Our rooms were mocated next to the pool which was great for the kids. The pool was very murky I suppose because the chemical balance was off plus there were quite a few bugs and leaves floating around. The breakfast was good, lits of choices; eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, waffles, cereal, etc. As far as the rooms are concerned, I was surpised that despite hanging my towels, they were all replaced including the bar of soap and shampoo and conditioner despite us staying another day. I found that przctice suite wasteful. Overall a decent stay.

    5
« Great choice for travelers with pets »

We wanted a week away from Phoenix heat, with our dog, and were surprised at how many motels are now pet-friendly. The BW Durango Inn and Suites (we chose a suite) turned out to be a great find. We paid the higher summer rates, but the room was large and well equipped (first floor gave us access to their large, grassy pet area). We were a little out from the main area of town but also away from the noise that it brings. The staff was very efficient, breakfasts were large and tasty, and we couldn't have been happier. We plan to return next summer.

Our room had a small balcony that we didn't expect! Yay! (and yes, you can!) Friendly & quiet. Pet friendly with lots of grass! Tourist area; lovely; the whole experience was great; weather wonderful. Next time we'll include a rafting trip! Will definitely stay at this hotel again!

    « Old property »

This property is an old one with an inconvenient layout. Bathroom is cramped, ventilation is loud. Rooms are small compared to other properties in this chain and to competitors' offerings. Better choices are available.

« Great if you love getting flea bites »

Stayed July 12 as part of Roadscholar Group. Room 124. Wife and I covered with flea bites around ankles. Motel needs fumigation. Lousy breakfast. Horrible location if you are on foot with bus tour. Thirty minute walk to get to downtown. Trapped with tour group on bus for 20 minutes as keys were not ready as requested in advance.

« Nice quiet hotel minutes from downtown »

This is not a 5 star hotel per se, but is a 5 star experience for the money. There are not a lot of suites downtown and we were traveling with our two teen sons, and needed the space. Two queen beds with an additional pullout couch bed, plenty of room for the 4 of us, clean, quiet rooms despite being right on 160. A little traffic noise, no big deal. The free breakfast was outstanding with lots of protein options, not just breads but bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and egg patties if you prefer a breakfast muffin. I would stay here again, no problem. Not quite walking distance to downtown, about a 20 minute walk or a 4 minute drive. Thanks!

« Typical hotel at typical resort area rates »

Room was nice but AC didn't work first night, it was fixed second night but no compensation was offered. Happy hour in lobby was a nice touch and breakfast was good in the morning. Overall we were happy with hotel and would stay there again.

« Seniors traveling with a pet choose this property. »

We cannot wait to return to this hotel. We travel a lot in the western United States and stay at Best Western hotels on many of our trips. This Best Western hotel exceeded our expectations. Not only did they allow our dog to stay, they truly are pet friendly. The pet walking area was evidence of that as mulch was spread over the ground. Great for easy clean up and helping with decomposition and cleanliness. Bags for clean up we, professional and well trained in customer service. A tour bus with many seniors was at this hotel on the night we stayed and the staff was very attentive to the needs of these senior citizens. Breakfast was excellent. Above average choices. You will not leave hungry. Coffee was very good - my priority in the morning. The lady taking care of the breakfast bar was really hustling but she managed to keep up with everyone's needs. A very nice outdoor patio allowed me to eat my breakfast in the refreshing mountain air. The property is up to the forest line - quiet and refreshing to sit outside. You will be happy if you choose to stay here. Overall, I can say that the staff and management of this hotel know what their guests want and they work to meet their needs. We will be returning soon.

    « Durango West Side »

We had a nice quiet stay on this nicely kept property. The air is clean and crisp so it was nice that the second floor windows opened so we could enjoy the breeze. We got a suite so it was nice to have the bar sink in the table area.

    « No TV in room 112 »

Checked in on the 4th and had a long drive so we just wanted to relax before going to dinner. Turned on the tv and it didn't work. Went and told they guy at the front desk and he came to our room to check it out. He said the provider must be having an outage but would get back with us. He never got back to us and the people next to us said theirs was working just fine. I mentioned it to them when we checked out and the only reply was sorry about that.

    « Great Staff - Great Stay »

Though this property shows its age, it is still very clean, well maintained, and has a wonderful front desk staff, all of them. We called rather early to see when we could get into our room, as my girlfriend wasn't feeling to well. Most hotels would not have gone to the lengths they did. They said possibly by 1, and called us at noon, the room was ready. Says a lot about this hotel. Our room was great, with a back door on the lawn, it was very clean. We liked that the hotel was well located in Durango, but still in a quieter part of town.We also liked having a decent restaurant on property. A great two night stay. Did I mention the wonderful staff?

« Great stay with wonderful staff! »

The staff at Best Western was exceptional. The location was perfect for our needs and the room was very comfortable. All points of interest were very close to our Hotel , which was in a central location, which made it very convenient. If there were any issues the staff was very quick to rectify the problem.

    « Comfortable hotel »

Nice hotel, friendly service. Room was clean with comfortable bed. Pool was nice and breakfast was excellent. Even saw a deer on the property. Mexican restaurant on property family run with excellent food.

    « Super Hotel! »

We were so happy to be in Durango for a week on business and as it turned out we had to bring our little dog. This sent us scrambling for a hotel that would allow a pet, what a blessing! This hotel is great! They advertise Continental Breakfast, wrong! It is a full hot breakfast, everything you could want! Eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, and a wonderful array of pastries! Our room had an awesome balcony with a great view. Very quiet and the bed was super comfortable. The hot tub was hot and the pool warm! I do not want to forget the staff in my review. From the extremely helpful front desk to the breakfast staff to the maintenance people, this crew is first rate! I have never found a property that had no faults, but this is it! Enjoy yourselves!

    « I Loved It! »

All of the staff members were really nice. Debbie, who runs the morning buffet, was awesome! We had a suite. The room was clean and modern looking. There were plenty of towels. The wifi worked well. The main reason for staying there is that they allow dogs and we could walk out of the back door of the suite and there was a huge backyard for dogs. You can't get better than that. They were also allowed to sit on the patio that was outside of the breakfast room. The breakfast food was pretty good. There was coffee, wine, and flavored water in the lobby in the early evening. There is a Mexican restaurant right next door.

    « Family Vacation »

Hotel staff are very friendly. They made you feel welcome. The breakfast was great. The a/c not that great, but other wise I will stay there again. The wine in the afternoon was nice. The beds are comfortable. The pool was great.

« Awesome in very way »

Everything was great...the room...the pool...the breakfast....the afternoon FREE wine.....and only a short walk from down town Duragno! You should definitely stay here! Glad we stayed at this Best Western and not one in downtown! bbbbbbbb

« Durango here we come! »

Came to Durango to ride the Durango Silverton Train which i highly recommend! This is an older hotel but it was clean and very comfortable. I think everything is a bit pricey in Durango for basic hotel. Shower/toilet separate from vanity area which is nice when 2 people are getting ready at the same time. Good breakfast and convenient to the train. internet was fine. Our room had a small balcony off the back of the room which was nice to sit out with a glass of wine and take advantage of the cool mountain air. nice place, i would stay again.

« Good option for dog owners »

Spent a good night at Best Western Durango Inn & Suites while on the way to take our kid to camp. We had wanted to bring our dog with us and this hotel was very dog-friendly an accommodating. The suite was very nice and well appointed. The beds very comfortable and the breakfast better than many we have encountered. No complaints here at all.

    5
« A very hard time made better »

We were in Durango for a memorial service of family members. We were emotional and sad, and the friendly, helpful, kind staff went above and beyond to make our stay better. We had initially booked a room with just one king sized bed, but the staff made it possible for us to move to a room with a suite and a separate sleeping area for the second night of our stay, the night after the funeral, when we both needed a good night sleep to be able to make the drive home the next day better. They accomplished the change even though it is the height of the tourist season in Durango.

« Solid Hotel Option in Durango »

I was on a Father's Day roadtrip with my son through Colorado, and decided to detour to Durango for a day. We didn't have any lodging set-up for our visit, and elected to stop at the Best Western as we pulled into town. The room was comfortable, and there was minimal road noise detectable. My son enjoyed the pool, although he was hoping the closing time was later than 10:00 P.M. Where I was most impressed was with the attentiveness and courtesy of the front desk staff. They did a great job making us feel welcome . . . especially when compared to the other places we stayed over the course of our trip. The only negative from our visit was that the breakfast area was very congested. We gave up trying to get food and find a seat when we realized we were battling way too many people given the size of the dining space. That being said, there were enough positives that we would consider staying here again when we return.

    5
    « Great hotel »

This hotel seemed to be older, however, it is well kept and outfitted with modern furnishings. Everything was clean. The staff is very friendly and professional. The location is perfect, exactly on the cusp of old and new Durango.

« Great Place to Stay When in Durango »

We stayed at the Best Western Durango Inn & Suites for four nights in June 2015. While the property is not new, it is very well kept. We saw people cleaning the pool and power washing the sidewalks several times during our stay. The breakfast area was perfect. There was a good variety of foods to choose from, and the area was kept clean and well-stocked by Debbie. We enjoyed the outdoor dining area, which was great for the cool summer mornings. We took advantage of the pool and the laundry room, as well as the complimentary wine in the lobby each evening. What stands out most in my mind is the friendliness of the staff. We will definitely stay here the next time we're in Durango.

    4
    « Great family place! »

We got the family suite and we had plenty of room for two adults and three kids! It has two rooms and a TV room. We enjoyed the free breakfast with hot eggs and sausage/bacon and waffles etc! The location is decent, but you will have to drive a very short distance to the shops. You could walk to the Main Street, but it's a little too far. Driving is easier. We loved our train ride to Silverton and also our dinner at Carver's Brewery! Durango is beautiful!!

  • 5
    « OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE »

From check-in to check-out, our stay was wonderful. Our family enjoyed the heated pool, the lawn out back, the large hottub, and the great hot breakfast! The complimentary wine was a perk. And the price was great!

    5
    « Excellent facility - excellent staff »

We have used this hotel exclusively during the past several years when we need to stay in Durango for a night or two. Our experience is always exceptional. The front desk staff is professional, caring, and delightful. Rooms are spotlessly clean, breakfast hot, diverse and tasty. Since we first stayed at this hotel we've never stayed anywhere else.

    2
    « AC didn't work properly, noisy »

AC is located in a small room by the bathroom, can't get the bedroom cool. It kept shutting off even though it never hit the designated temperature. We stayed here because of its location to the Durango Silverton train ride. Staff was ready for us when we got here.

    3
« Expensive for these types of rooms »

I thought it was clean and big enough but nothing that great and fairly expensive. The location is fiarly good in relation to downtown Durango and the train station. The town itself is nice. We were there for the Iron Horse bike race and it was a good location for that.

    4
« Pretty ok room and breakfast »

Room was nicely decorated and clean. The breakfast was pretty "A-ok" They had all the regular continental stuff but also two styles of eggs, waffles, sausage and bacon. The front staff was friendly and when I asked if we could checkout late they said it was no charge ?? so that made me very happy.

    5
    « Train Ride »

We stayed at this hotel because we were going to ride the Durango to Silverton train. The hotel is about 1 mile from the train station. We did book ahead and the hotel staff was ready for us when we arrived. The staff was very helpful and friendly and gave us maps and directions for additional Best Western locations for the remainder of our vacation.

« Nice Hotel in Durango »

We have stayed at 3 different hotels in Durango over the past 5 years. Although the rooms could use a little updating, we enjoyed the overall stay at this one the best of the 3. The layout of the rooms is very comfortable and relaxing.

    4
« Largest BW Room We have Stayed in »

Fantastic-sized room with a suite as well as a king bed. Check-in was excellent and the hotel even offered complimentary wine. Didn't bother with the grill next door but had pizza delivered to the room by a Durango-based eatery. There is a balcony out back with views of the surrounding hills and the hot-tub.

    4
    « Great Stay! »

We were welcomed for an overnight stay with an immediate upgrade to a suite without even asking. Becky at the desk was delightful and very helpful. We enjoyed our room which was clean and spacious despite the fact that it is an older facility. The beds were wonderful; the best nights sleep so far on our trip. The breakfast was hot and plentiful, plus we enjoyed sitting on the outside patio at breakfast to enjoy a beautiful Colorado morning. The hotel was convenient and easy to locate. We would definitely recommend and would gladly book again.

    4
    « A good night's rest »

Very quiet and comfortable room. Friendly desk staff. Property was clean, neat and well maintained. Breakfast was pretty good and typical of most BW's. We had a good night's sleep when we stopped on our 10 day road trip. Nice Mexican restaurant next door and within walking distance. Not close to downtown if that is important. We were just passing through town so it suited our needs.

    « Pleasant stay »

Comfortable, huge suite, great views of grassy hill, with deer and birds. Very relaxing and quiet. Convenient to downtown Durango. Wifi worked great, and plenty of parking. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it. Although a second floor room is essential.

    5
    « Great experience »

Excellent location in Durango, great room and friendly, efficient staff. Watched deer play behind the hotel in the evening. All amenities were top shelf. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

« Great place to stay. »

This is one of your typical Best Westerns you find around the country. It is a well kept but old property. Good value for your money. The bathroom was very outdated and needed a make-over. The floor was soft in this area which is a sigh of wood rot. We have stayed here several times as it is on our route home and will stay again. Great staff and great breakfast.

    4
    « Colorado visit »

We were checked in very quickly, which was nice and our room was on the 1st floor making it even better. We did have to call an 800 number to walk us through a problem with the internet service. We called Tyler but he didn't seem to know how to fix the problem. After talking with the "help desk" number, the problem was resolved. Bed was very comfortable & even though we were just off highway 160, we were not bothered by road noise.

    5
    « Great Experience »

Upon arrival, staff courteous, helpful, room, lobby and breakfast area very clean. Updated rooms/suites. Very accommodating. Wi Fi free, breakfast included - breakfast staff friendly and helpful. Just a great experience.

    « Durango Trip »

Best Western was great! Everyone was helpful and courteous. I will be staying there the next time I'm in Durango. They upgraded me without asking and it was an even better deal. I had a large tour bus to park and it was no problem. The hotel was quiet at night which gave me a great nights sleep. Keep up the great work!

    5
« Great place to stay »

We have stayed at this Best Western several times. It is quiet, clean and very comfortable. Appreciate that the suite option puts the bedroom on the back side, which is all green space. Also appreciate that pets are allowed. We've always been treated very well when staying here.

    « Durango Best Western »

Great place to stay. Has a nice patio at the back of the suite where you can enjoy the scenery. We stayed two nights and had great service. The breakfast was good and the location was perfect. We were one mile from the Durango Silverton train depot.

    4
    « Relaxed weekend »

I always stay at this hotel for many reason. It is about 5 minutes from main street yet you feel like you are in the woods. The river walk is maybe 10 minutes away. It is really clean, great service and a great continental breakfast. An outdoor hot tub to be under the Colorado stars. I have seen deer in the field behind the hotel everytime.

    4
    « Western vacation »

This was a great place to stay. We stayed in a suite for two nights. There is a wine reception from 4 to 6 every night. There is a great Mexican restaurant next door. The suites have a back door to sit outside and have a beverage or just enjoy the beauty of the area.

  • 4
    « Good Value »

This was a good value for the stay. We enjoyed the breakfast and it was convenient to park our pop up trailer in the parking lot. However, the bathroom in our room needed a little updating. The knobs fell off the sink every time we tried to get water. The light was so filled with bugs we couldn't see and the shower head needed updating.

    1
« ANIMAL HAIR AND WET SOCKS! »

Animal hair everywhere! So matted on couch cushions that I took one to the lobby to show the clerk. Also, the carpet had recently been cleaned and was still wet. Offered another room but the new one had a white stain on the couch. Besides, once I'm unpacked I'd rather just stay on the bed and hope the sheets are clean! .

    4
« Great for a Quick Overnight Stop Passing Thru Durango »

We were traveling from the PNW to New Mexico and this is right on our way. With an older exterior, this hotel is located on the outskirts of town and easily by-passed if you are not looking for it. Rooms are small, but clean and efficient. Beds are firm and pillows are soft, very desirable. Reception area and breakfast room have been remodeled in the last year and are very pleasant. All employees were helpful and informative.

    5
    « great experience »

Statyed for week and was perfect. Becky and Josh and whole staff best service we have ever had. Beds were great, bathroom had grab bars, breakfast was fresh, maid service very friendly and acccomodating.

    5
« Up earlier than breakfast »

Having to have an early start to the day, we made it to breakfast before it was ready for us. Fortunately, Pierce offered and was more than willing to set up the breakfast items early for us so we could have our coffee and breakfast and get on our way. So helpful and considerate! It was a small gesture that made our stay that much better! The rooms were clean and comfortable and location is great. On the way into town, yet not too far from downtown Durango. We will definitely be staying here again

    5
« Great place to stay »

This is a great hotel, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. We have stayed in other facilities in Durango but this is the best one as far as we are concerned. It's in a good location, easy to get to, easy to find, and close to the train station and other tourist attractions.

    1
    « Disappointing visit »

This was an interesting stay. The staff were nice. The first night we were there, about 10 truckers were parked in the parking lot, staying there, lending to the feel of a truck stop. Also the first night, the hot tub had a topless woman in it who freaked my kids out. The waffle maker in the free breakfast never cooked our waffles. The towels were THE HARDEST and ROUGHEST towels I have ever used in my life. And the heating system was weird. It was located in the back semi-room near the rest room, which meant that the entire front of the hotel room basically received no heat. I don't think I would stay here again.

    2
    « Not as advertised »

NO MICROWAVE, and the online photos look WAY better than the real thing. Was very old and in need of major remodeling for the rates they are asking. Nobody at the front desk cared about the fact that they advertised microwave in room, but indeed had no microwave.

    5
    « Driving Thru Durango »

Driving thru Durango... This hotel was on our way. We stopped in last minute & was accommodated. The hotel was nice & clean. I feel we got good quality for the cost- affordable. I usually look for hotels serving a breakfast. They have a decent breakfast! I would definitely stay here again if I were in Durango. I didn't stay long to use any amenities this hotel offers.

    « Perfect able beds.for us »

We have stayed here at least 6 times and each visit has been great. Very caring staff, rooms clean and comfortable. Very close to downtown and all of the shops. We have routinely been upgraded to a suite because I am a Best Western Rewards member. The only complaint, if you even want to call it one, is the breakfast selection. It is good but it would be nice to have a little more fruit or precooked oatmeal.

    5
    « Great overnight! »

Upon check in we were offered complimentary wine....a bonus after driving across a snowy pass. We had a clean, quiet room with windows that faced the mountains...perfect for our needs. Great breakfast and the staff was excellent!

    3
    « Better and Better »

This hotel just gets better and better. Visitors will soon become aware of the many improvements from the moment they arrive. Check-in from 4 pm to 6 pm and you will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of wine. The rooms have 40 to 50 inch tv sets with two in the suites. Rooms have fridges, microwaves, tea and coffee making. In fact the only thing missing is cutlery and crockery. Bet Western hotels have joined the race to see how many pillows can be put on a bed. This is five plus a bolster on their king-size beds. There is an all year round outdoor hot tub and a swimming pool for the summer. The buffet breakfast now includes cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruits. Also bacon, sausages, eggs ad pancakes. Coffee tea and juices. The only way that competing 4 and 5 star hotels can offer is an indoor restaurant, but here there is one just outside the door.

    5
    « Family Friendly A+++++ »

We stayed here on Easter weekend. Not only were the staff of this hotel rockstars at customer service but we also enjoyed the little extras that really meant a lot. Complimentary wine from 4-6 was a nice time to relax in the lobby by the fireplace. We also woke up on Easter sunday to "treats" left by the hotel staff. My 9 yr old daughter was thirlled by this simple gesture. More hotels should strive to perfom the way this one does. Everyone from the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff was extremely friendly and awesome at their jobs!! A+++++++

    4
« Great stay, great price! »

Great stay, great price! Was very pleased with the accomodations. Attached restaurant wasn't great. Pool and spa are outdoors which made it relatively unusable at the time we were there but otherwise we were very pleased with the hotel and stay.

« Clean Comfortable Rooms Close to Historic Downtown »

Clean rooms very good service and close to historic district.Easy in and out (cars) to rte160. Stayed 2 nights housekeeping was excellent. Pet friendly hotel so if you decide to walk around the back watch out, people don't clean up after their pets.

    4
« Nice room, great staff. »

Stayed one night, but want to return. The staff was outstanding. I checked in with Tyler- you couldn't find and hire a better front desk person. Efficient, informative, low key yet on top of it. The first room had a problem, so he moved me to a great location with absolutely no fuss or attitude. Clean room, adequate breakfast to get you going.

    5
« Nice Accomodations and Close to Downtown »

Arrived on Friday over the Valentines weekend had a great time. The staff was great and got us registered quickly. We had one of the suites and it was comfortable. Morning breakfast was very good with make your own waffles. This motel is less than a mile from downtown. We use again when we are back in town.

    5
« Lovely hotel, warm and welcoming staff »

This is a great place to stay, especially if you are traveling with pets. It's centrally located, but not noisy and has great customer service. The rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. They have a nice 24-hour laundry room, and their breakfast is excellent-- they offer some first rate bagels and cream cheese and superior coffee. If it's snowing out, their little library with a fireplace is a great place to curl up. I was also very impressed with their genuine kindness to animals. They take care of two sweet young homeless cats and feed them, got them spayed and vaccinated, and let them sleep in a little cave under their hot tub in winter. As a cat owner, that kind of made my day. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The value is excellent.

    5
« ...Great motel - great customer service...... »

This is my "home away from home" as the Front Desk calls it.... I have stayed here numerous times over the years, and I always enjoy my stay... The employees are very customer service orientated, and go the extra mile to make sure your stay is good. The breakfast lady is the best. She makes sure that the breakfast items are always replenished.... The food is very good, and there is a lot to choose from - eggs, bacon or sausage, English muffins, fruit, yogurt, juices, waffles, and more... The rooms are very large - I always get a suite for a few extra dollars or the Front Desk will upgrade me to a suite because I am a Best Western Rewards member. The beds are very, very comfortable... 2 TVs in the Suites, and everything is always very clean... I stay here quite a bit and will continue to do so... Thanks, guys!!!

    « Valentines Get Away »

My wife and I only live about an hour away from Durango. I accumulate a lot of reward points from staying at the Best Western Canyon De Chelly in Chinle, Az. twice a week for my work. We had the chance to get away from household responsibilities for the weekend and the Durango Inn and Suites made a perfect destination. The lady serving the breakfast was especially helpful as far as helping to find food the my wife could eat that was GLUTEN, EGG and DAIRY free.

    3
    « BW Durango »

Well it is clean and overall pretty nice as you would expect from a Best Western. The only real problem I had was at check in. I had intended to use my reward points for the room but the desk clerk informed me that I could only do so by calling the reservation number on my card, and that they couldn't due it at the front desk because the computer would not allow it. Every other time I stayed at a BW I was able to redeem points at the front desk for a room if I needed to. Not sure what the problem was at this particular place. I wouldn't say don't stay there, just know that redeeming points there might be an issue if you don't make arrangements prior to checking in via the phone number on the rewards card.

    3
« About what you'd expect: overpriced, not great service... »

About what you'd expect from some of the larger chains in summer. Not the most friendly staff when we first arrived, though the next day, folks seemed a bit happier. It worked. Would I stay again? Only if I couldn't find another similarly priced option with better reviews.

    5
« Great Hotel, good price »

Nice hotel for 3 adults. 2 queens and a sofa bed worked great. The breakfast was also a nice surprise as it was a hot breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and waffles. Hot tub is an added bonus for soaking after a day in the snow.

    5
    « Great stay. »

He stayed here because we where on a budget for hotels so we spend more on the activities and restaurant. Best Western are not homogeneous as they are independetely own. So we were scheduled to arrive on the day after tje Goliath winter storm... road were closed and had a non-cancellable non-refundable reservation. Well I called to the place and explained I was stuck at Socorro,NM and they switch my days so I didnt loose any of my paid days. Our room was a double queen standard. It was very clean. Heating work extremely well I had to lower it as coming from -2°F to a 70°F warm weather was too much. Sometimes I eveb turned off. Cozy atmosphere. We had our car so we were able to drive in and out without a problem. Only 5 min to downtown. The complimentary breakfast was very good: activia yogurth, beated eggs, sausages, swiss chocolate packets, twining teas, i dont drink coffe so can comment about it. Gluten free bread on request is available. Toasters, butter, peanut butter. On the reception they have a tradebook section they looked interesting. And maybe you can read on site didnt ask as we were always on activities. They have complimentary wine from 4-6pm and coffe machine available all day long on reception. I love my stay. Taylor was an amazing host.

    « Loved the backyard »

Our big family was comfortable in the 2 bedroom suite that includes 3 beds and a rollout sofa bed. The staff is friendly and concise. The free breakfast was okay. We just loves that there was a backyard behind the suite right next to a mountain. The kids played in the snow back there.

    3
    « Nice management »

This is an older motel but with semi renovated rooms. Location is too far to walk to historic Durango. But great if you're headed up the mountain to ski at Purgatory. Walkable to river. Really attentive management, very nice. If your just looking for a clean, basic room at a budget price this will be okay.

we did enjoy our stay at this location. it was a nice stay, we liked the staff and the breakfast was very good. although when I first entered the bathroom it did have a faint smell of stale urine but house keeping took care that right away. other then that the room was kept every clean.

Extremely friendly staff, the breakfast exceeded what was advertised on its sign, it was a full breakfast despite just claiming a continental breakfast. It is very close to a great dog park and a reasonable distance from the downtown area. There is a minimal charge of $15 per night for dogs. The property is the best place to stay in town if you are traveling with dogs.

After a Grueling 700 Mile Travel day I was Greeted by Two Very Motivated and Positive Females that Amy & Melissa took care of my check in within 10 Minutes and made sure I got the Room that I needed..Comfort of the Bed and All Amenities were the Best.

« Fort Lewis College graduation! »

Stayed at this property for a December graduation for 5nights. Plus: Microwave, mini fridge, comfy queen beds. Plenty of outlets (in this needy technological time of smartphones, laptop, etc.). Very friendly hotel staff. Filling continental breakfast. (Debby who made sure food and most importantly coffee was always stocked. She was awesome ! Great and accommodating housekeeping staff. Opportunities for improvement (OFI's): Larger coffee maker-single cup maker only. Rooms were a bit small-cramped. Heater/ A-C is a forced air and noisy unit but did the job. I had to turn off the unit at night as it was on continuous.

« best stay in the Durango »

We travel to Durango often and have stayed at many of the different hotels or B & Bs but this was by far the most pleasant stay even though we had terrible weather. An added bonus for us was they were dog friendly and the back door to our room worked out for us. We will use this hotel again in the near future.

    « Near downtown »

Very clean hotel and they did the room service everyday including thanksgiving day. Less expensive compared to other nearby hotels but no compromise on the quality. Front desk is friendly and help us with nearby attractions and restaurants. Typical best western morning hot breakfast. They typically do a free upgrade during low occupancy season. Just a mile from downtown and four corners is just 1.5 hours from here. Spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, number of power outlets to charge the phones, tablets etc.

« bad beds and breakfast could be better »

The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the breakfast eggs were hard and very dry. I would stay here again if they made changes to their bed. We had our dog with us and this place was very good for that.

« OK, But WIFI Needs Updat »

First time at this hotel and loved our family suite. Hotel staff very friendly. Wifi was very spotty and didn't work a lot for us 4 users. Manager did try to help us regarding the wifi, but sincerely think with mountains in the way....it was interfering with our connections. Swimming pool quite small--good for small children. Breakfast area is small, but you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh mountain air. There is a Mexican restaurant connected to the hotel, and recommend you try somewhere else. We would recommend staying here if you do not need wifi.

« Very good value for Durango »

This is an old motel but clean and well-kept. When first walk in the room, there is a funny, old smell like get in 1960's buildings sometimes. The room includes a mini-fridge, hairdryer, iron, coffeemaker, but no microwave. The shower water faucet had both temperature and volume control - a big plus. The sink is in an alcove of the bedroom with the closet, rather than in the bathroom. The room had thin walls; can hear the neighbor snoring and coughing. There is some traffic noise but the adjacent road has little traffic at night. The fitness room is small. Breakfast was average

    « Thanksgiving in Durango »

This property was excellent. It is convenient and easy to get to. The ownership and staff were great and all seemed to enjoy their work environment, even the graveyard desk staff. That is correct 24 hr desk staff always cheerful and alert. Also the ONLY B/W in Durango that allows pets which is a must for us. I like it cool when I sleep and could not turn the heater low enough without turning it off, but that is just me most would probably prefer that. :-) The $15/ night for our small dog I thought was a bit high but not exorbitant.

    « Very Nice Time »

Excellent staff at check in. Made us feel like family they were glad to see. Found a way to give us "stop ins" a discount on the nicest room (suite). It's nice to have a living room and a bedroom with two people with different sleep schedule. It was "cozy warm" but spacious. Breakfast was always stocked and good. Check out was quick and easy. Loved our 3 day stay and will stay here again.

« Most Excellent Place to Stay »

The Hotel offered wine while you checked-in. The staff are very well trained and professional. The room was delightful, clean and the beds were comfy! Breakfast was hot and the dinning room was large with lots of tables available. They had a huge grass area out back for your dog to run around in. The beds were great, however, needed additional blanket if staying during the winter months.

A really nice place to stay and much less expensive than other hotels within walking distance of Durango. The employee who checked us in was extraordinarily helpful and made us feel very welcome. We'll stay again!

We are scheduled to stay here again in a month. Love tihis place! The rooms are great, comfortable, spacious, clean, easy to feel comfortable. This is our go to place when in Durango, always feel at home!

« Decent place to stay »

Simple hotel, great location. We just needed to get off the roads during a storm and this was the first place we came to so we booked. The rooms and hotel itself are clean and in good shape, staff was helpful and the price was okay.

    « Great Experience »

Great Experience - I would recommend this to anyone. Great value - 5 stars all the way. The room was spacious and spotless. Breakfast was very good. Wine upon check in was a welcomed treat. Staff was friendly and helpful.

    « Will stay again »

Excellent night and will stay again. Well worth the fee. Great service. Fantastic breakfast buffet. Nice welcome in the pm with a glass of wine and a snack. Great location for getting to town and sight seeing in the area.

    « Best Motel Ever »

The Best Western Durango is an exceptional motel. The unit consisted of two large rooms--a living area and a bedroom. This provided family members a chance to pursue their own interests. Being dog-friendly, it had a door off the bedroom leading to the dog area. This was an amazing feature--especially in the evening as you did not have to search out facilities.

« Friendly staff / free hot breakfast »

Very fast check-in. Professional staff. Rooms were what we expected - clean with comfy bed. Free WIFI and Breakfast. The hotel is located a few minutes drive out of the centre of town but not a problem for us as we had a car. Would recommend.

    « Nice Setting »

This Best Western property is well kept and in a nice location. Helpful staff, beautiful surroundings, away from the hustle and bussle of downtown but close enough to be convenient. Rooms are nice but on the small side, even the suites aree a bit cramped. However I've stayed here numerous times so I do like it.

« Stayed here numerous times... »

...have stayed here quite a bit over the years, and always been more than satisfied. Booked for a weekend visit to Durango again, and love this place. They have new staff, new Front Desk Manager, and the lobby has been remodeled. I love the free "wine", but unfortunately, I don't drink wine. But it is a very nice touch... The rooms are nice - quiet - beds are VERY comfortable-- everything was great in the room. The breakfast is fantastic (only thing missing is bagels and cream cheese), but that's my personal choice.. Great variety and they put a lot of work into it. Will be back in a couple of weeks... Great visit - great customer service!!! Keep it up..

    « Affordable Elegance »

Although this was a shoulder season stay, this Best Western stay was a pleasurable experience. From the assistance on the phone booking the reservation to checking out, staff were pleasant and professional. Our suite could have easily been twice the price and been a good deal. Clean and comfortable, one of our more memorable experiences in motel stays.

« Very convenient and truly "Pet Friendly" hotel »

Since we were "snowbirding" from Pennsylvania to Las Vegas, we had our kids along - a dog and a cat. This Best Western proved to be the most convenient hotel we have ever had the opportunity to stay in. The doggie yard was accessible from a back door in our suite; was large and clean and had all the amenities necessary for walking our pet. The suite was well-appointed and included high=-peed internet that worked for multiple devices and 2 flatscreen TV's. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the location was very convenient to all the attractions in the Durango area.

    « Disappointing »

The staff were brilliant and customer care was extremely good, with a free glass of wine during "happy hour". I felt that the pictures were misleading and rooms were older and more in need of renovation than I had anticipated. A major problem was the number of large dogs on site although this obviously depends whether you want to share accommodation with dogs or not. The old town is a short drive away.

« An older Best Western but clean »

While I don't always think newest is best, this is an older hotel that has been dressed up as best as possible. The room was clean, beds were wonderful, breakfast was run by an amazing woman who kept it clean with fresh food constantly. There was a very nice dog area behind it with beautiful grass that dogs can run free on, very appreciated. But, being an older structure it was noisy. You could hear rooms above and beside your own, every flush, every water turn on, walking and running footsteps and all road noise from the very close highway. Not the most luxurious hotel but for the price and the dog amenities it turned out to be just fine.

« Best Western Durango Inn & Suites Durango CO »

My stay here was pleasant. There was one instant that I was not sure that I had made the right decision. I'm sure that the person at the front desk told me that I was staying in room 122, instead it was 123. Either I did not hear him clearly, because I repeated room 122 when he showed me where the room was located on the room map.

    « Great value »

Great value, exactly as advertised. The breakfast venue had an option for outdoor seating that is very beautiful. THe location of this hotel was ideal for us -- we didn't want to be in the Durango downtown traffic. The bed was very comfortable, refrigerator allowed us to sip on our own wine--and speaking of wine, the hotel offered an afternoon beverage. Awesome!

« Staff not too accommodating »

Average hotel out of downtown. But still accessible to the sites of Durango. Problem with light switch in bathroom and broken faucet handle that the staff just said "oh" to when I mentioned. They did nothing about either although they gave me a free bottle of water because I complained.

« certainly not the Best Western »

The hotel was very noisey. This was both traffic noise and from the rooms above and next door. The basin was cracked. The bathroom door would not close. The hairdrier was broken .Everything was very worn and felt as if it had been used thousands of times, esp the towels.

    « noisy »

The room was right next to a vending machine and the laundry room. Very noisy all night, Construction workers were all around us outside smoking and drinking. I decided to let the front desk agent know what was going on and he really was not sympathetic. He did offer me another room but it was our last night. We love Durango and visit very often and was very unhappy with the room. I really thought I was going to be given a discount with our room but nobody seemed to care that we had a bad experience.

    « Durango in October »

Very clean hotel with excellent staff and most of the necessary amenities. Very good internet connection throughout our 3-night stay. The Manager, Amy, was extremely accommodating by working with us to ensure a prior credit for a 2-night stay in the month of May was applied and honored. She went above and beyond and each staff member we interacted with was very pleasant. We were reminded each day about the happy hour reception daily from 4 to 6pm. Additionally, we inquired about hiking and were provided excellent options and maps.

    « Great pool! »

Nice place to stay. Rooms may be a bit dated, but very clean. Best part was the indoor pool and hot tub. Very nice place to relax. Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite on the end which was right by the road and somewhat noisy. Otherwise, nice place.

    « Good Night Stay »

This place was clean with good beds. They also had a Wash Station for motorcycles with clean rags. It was in a good location, as we had visited Mesa Verde NP earlier that evening. I was very satisfied with this motel and would stay there again for sure.

    « Cowboy country »

This was a great value in a popular area...felt sooooo welcome when we arrived and front desk so very helpful...room was 2 rooms, which was more than we needed...bathroom a bit small, but larger vanity outside the bath so that helped!

    « Good place »

Rooms were clean staff was nice.thing that sick is if you want to pay cash they still charge your card... I don't use a card and they forced me to anyway before I arrived. If you use a card this might be OK but if you don't look at alternatives or show up in person. Paid cash they still charged my card with out letting me know or explaining it.

    « smelly and small »

We were not told that this was a Pet friendly Hotel. It was not clean and Had a very claustrophobic feel. There was just too much furniture in the room The ad said it was updated recently but this is not true. The TV was nice but that did not make up for the smell and crowded feel. Very disappointing.Air system cant circulate properly. urine and mildew smell stayed all night.

over the past 20 years have always had a good time here, clean rooms and has been updated a number of times the pool is outside and small but hey this is durango ,it is always cool not warm here internet worked great and that is saying something because here in america it usually sucks

$35 truck stop hotel for $125. DATED, bath linens you wouldn't use to dry your car or your pet. Pillows terrible. Bathroom drywall water damaged. Semi trucks in parking lot. I was expecting a lot more. Many motels in Durango,CO MUCH better.

    « Average Is Good »

We stayed here one night on our way to Silverton (about an hour away). It's what you'd expect from a hotel, including the breakfast, which was good. I'm not sure what other commenters expect from a continental breakfast, but it was almost exactly like it is at other hotels--cereal options, muffins, yogurt, fruit, milk, juice, coffee. I'd actually say the breakfast is a little better as you can get eggs, sausage, and even make your own waffles. The little lady who bused the room was sweet and efficient. The rooms were clean and stocked with the usual amenities. We got in late, so we just went to the Mexican restaurant, which was also good--friendly staff. Our room had two queens and a full, which was good for our family of 5. My only complaint would be the breakfast room is a wee bit too small, although there is an option to go outside. The bathroom in the lobby is also only for one person. With people going in and out of the eating area in the morning, it can also get a little congested. Other than that, it's what I expect and experience in most hotels.

    « OK Hotel »

This hotel is a little out of Durango and we would have liked to be nearer the town. Staff very helpful, rooms pretty good. Breakfast very limited, cereal and apples with bread items, eggs and sausages didn't look too appealing. Laundry room dirty. Non smoking rooms but people smoking cannabis on balconies so drifted into our.

Lovely, large, and comfortable rooms with a terrific breakfast. Wine in the lobby in the afternoon. The staff was more than helpful when we had car trouble and needed to stay an extra hour. We would love to stay here again.

« A nice hotel with a great happy hour »

Rarely these days do you find a hotel with a happy hour that provides free drinks and chips. Well this hotel does it--the happy hour runs fron 5:30-7:30pm and offers beer, wine, and mixed drinkalso with free chips and salsa. The lady bartender at happy hour was extremely efficient and has a pleasant personality, The hotel itself is nice with a nice indoor pool, large and quiet rooms, and comfortable beds. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Fairly close to downtown Durango. The included buffet breakfast was good but nothing special.
