Best Western Plus Dunfermline Crossford Keavil House Hotel

Stayed for two nights as a family of four during Easter holidays. Booked due to easy access to Edinburgh, without the bustle of staying in city centre and spa facilities a nice bonus. We had booked two rooms, one double & one twin as our children are now teenagers. On arrival rooms clean but very dated, felt like we'd stepped back into the 1990's. Bathroom had a bath with shower curtain for shower. Shower very poor, lacked any power & flush on toilet terrible. Cold tap ran warm, unsure if drinkable, so went out & bought mineral water. Window handle broken in our room, broken handle just sat on windowsill. Notes around room written in Russian which at first we just thought was odd. Children sat on floor in corridor outside our room playing, again just thought this was odd to begin with. Spa facilities again a bit dated, but clean & were nice after a busy day round Edinburgh. Breakfast was buffet style, when we went down told we must sit at one side of dining room, again we just thought this a bit odd. Breakfast ingredients basic, but well cooked & liked the buffet style. Then my son noticed one guest at other side of room putting around eight boiled eggs in his pockets. As we all looked he then pulled a lunch box from his rucksack & filled it with all the cooked meats & bread off his plate. He then proceeded to go back & forth to the buffet filling his plate & pockets with mainly boiled eggs, meat, bread, butter, croissants, yogurt pots & then tipping in his bag. Over the two mornings we noticed others doing the same, frequently refilling their plates & tipping into bags & lunch boxes. To begin with our children just found this amusing. However we soon realised that due to the amount of additional food being taken we had to compete to get our breakfast. I went to get some butter to go with my toast, all taken only margarine left, asked a staff member, who brought me two small packs I then shared with my husband. Red jam was in a bowl ? strawberry, no marmalade or the little individual packets you get in hotels usually. Soon became apparent why, they would just be taken. No blueberry muffins or smoothies, as stated on website menu, fruit choice limited, again I guess as it all would be just taken. When dishing up my cooked breakfast, a lady leaned right over me & took last four slices of bacon. Final straw was as the first guest we saw taking food was leaving on second morning, he opened each of the hot plates & took what he could with his hands. At this point a staff member was next to our table & I pointed this out to her. She was very apologetic but explained she had watched this going on for a year but as they are Ukrainian's living at hotel the staff aren't allowed to say anything to them. We then realised the other things we thought was odd was because the hotel was more geared towards looking after the Ukrainian people living there permanently than towards its holiday guests. The first night we ate out locally, the second night we intended to eat in hotel. But after the breakfast experience, we ate locally again. We all felt the quality of the ingredients & choice for breakfast for the price we paid was poor. We now believe this was because the hotel has had to cut back on what it offers due to the amount of food being taken. I have never before stayed in a four star hotel with only one choice of jam in a bowl, no marmalade & needing to ask for butter. My heart goes out to the Ukrainian people for what they have been & still are going through & I fully understand they need to be housed somewhere. But I do think on booking a four star best western hotel we should have been informed on what to expect & then we could have made the choice to go ahead with the booking. It was certainly not the hotel experience we were expecting, particularly the breakfast.

Booked superior room with 4 poster bed on the website for a special weekend out and it was our first time to see Dumfermline area/ Abbey/Culross etc, received TOTALLY different room, with very unpleasant design, that they do not provide photos of, no beautiful windows, no beautiful curtains, no canopy over the bed, just weird four naked posts exactly with doors to the ground/gardens, where ppl tend to walk their pets and stare at your face. When complained, the guy at reception apologized and promised they will update misleading information about their "superior" rooms, but it was not enough. They didn't offer to swap room, didn't explain WHY they give room that you didn't want or saw on the website. Needless to say they didn't update anything. You book what you see and want to stay where you paid for, not to get nasty surprises. Totally ruined our weekend and made me cry. Extremely cheeky, unprofessional and just bad. SpA facilities are full of kids, so serving the community needs, not the guests of the hotel. Do not recommend. Shocking service.

A night away to treat ourselves ,lovely large room allowed friends to join us for a drink to celebrate an anniversary in our room , very friendly reception staff and very good breakfast would come again ,sorry not have used swimming pool looked fab .

Lovely reasonably priced country hotel. Very comfy beds & staff only to pleased to help. Very pleasant stay. Excellent spa / gym attached for residents use. Nice location for a relaxing stay but not too far from dunfermline r Edinburgh if u want somewhere a bit more lively. Stayed many times .

Rooms are ok. Staff are not interested in the quality of their service, or in the guests. The lady at the check in did not look at us once, was very uncommunicative bordering on rude, asked us to fill out a personal particulars form with information we had already provided via the internet check in, and when we pointed that out put on an irritated face and took a lot of time to find that info. At breakfast, when asking for tea after having to search for a staff member in the kitchen, the lady responded by suggesting we should have asked the person who “checked us in” to the breakfast room. Since there had not been any staff in the room when we arrived or any time thereafter, I suggested she talk to her colleagues about that, not to me. She shrugged without saying anything. The continental breakfast buffet did not contain about half of the items described in the menu. When we asked for yoghurt, the answer was “there is plenty of cheese”. Not an experience to be repeated, the quality offered does not meet any reasonable expectations, let alone those based on the price charged.

Beautiful hotel, Room was very spacious, very clean & fresh... overall lovely! Absolutely Great food! Lovely staff! Spa was beautiful ♡ Will 100% come back in the future! Couldn't fault anything at all! Surrounding area also beautiful! X

We have stayed at the BW Keavil House Hotel several times now, the last few years we have celebrated our wedding anniversary there. Always receive a warm & friendly welcome upon arrival. Staff cannot do enough for us. Every time we think our last stay cannot be outdone, they exceed it. The food is some of the most delicious meals we have ever had. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, especially if you want to celebrate a special occasion.

great hotel and ideally located for the Alhambra theatre. plenty parking. staff helpful and attentive. sadly did not get to use the leisure facilities due to lack of time but will do so next visit breakfast very good and burger for supper was fine nice location. reasonably priced book direct with hotel - they will match onliners !

Really looking forward to having a relaxing stay whilst my partner and I run the Edinburgh marathon, especially having use of the pool and other facilities. 23 days before our stay, the hotel informed me that the booking would need to be cancelled. Apparently a corporate event was more important than us. Won't be booking again, mainly because I probably won't be in Dunfermline again for a while, and when I book a non-refundable room, I expect it to honoured. Now I have to seek accomodation last minute before the big event nearby. Thanks again.

The Best Western Plus is a very welcoming and friendly hotel with it,s own spa and swimming pool, also access to a golf course if your into that. The hotel is 5 minute drive into Dunferline and 25 minutes in to Edinburgh and good rail links to Glasgow and beyond.

Beautiful location, welcoming staff. Clean room which was freshly decorated. Dinners were amazing, good choice and delicious. Bar and lounge area were comfortable and informal. All staff very friendly and helpful. Will return for a future stay.

The hotel was nice overall. Friendly, cosy, had everything needed for a business traveller. Food in the restaurant was very nice and reasonably priced I had an Exec room which was nice, There were smaller rooms (i Noticed as they were being made up) which I am glad i didnt have. I found the bed too uncomfortable for me and as such didnt sleep too well. Nice to see there is a sign to hang on the door saying no need for housekeeping, as well as large toiletries rather than single use ones.

Chosen for for best town and countryside location, and well up to usual Best Western high standards of quality and service. Good value for money, even without making full use of the hotel's available facilities. I have stayed a handful of times before, and will do so again

This is my favourite hotel. We have been to Keavil House many times over the last few years. It never disappoints. We were greater by many of the staff - it really felt like coming home. Excellent restaurant staff & food at both breakfast & dinner. Leasure centre is a must during our visits. Will definitely return again in the summer months. Would definitely recommend!!!

Room and hotel was fine. The gym was disappointing, no-one was cleaning the equipment after use, leaving things dirty and covered in sweat. Would have expected better, especially after Covid. There were far too many children in the swimming pool, with staff and parents happy for them to run wild and get in the way of people trying to swim. Again cleanliness was an issue with some users sitting in the jacuzzi endlessly even when it wasn't running. One man was constantly moving between the sauna and the pool without showering - just gross! The staff need to get a better handle on things and enforce cleanliness and basic hygiene!

Rooms superb - food fantastic - Staff friendly and helpful - My only suggestion is that if any thing you did not expect and wish to change with your room on arrival - please talk with staff at beginning of stay

Firstly we arrived early and were told we had to come back at 3:00 pm to check in (circa Blackpool 1976) it soon became clear why this was the case as the hotel is grossly under staffed. We asked if we could have some lunch before checking in but we're told it wasn't possible , no idea why! The room itself was quite spacious , good size bed but although the bathroom had been retiled it was still outdated with wood effect surrounds from a bygone age and the trickle cold water shower was very ineffective. The waiting staff who were mostly young students were very attentive and efficient but left to their own devices by and large. At night the restaurant and lounge are really lacked atmosphere , there was no festive buzz around the place , the lounge just looked like a selection of sofas with virtually nothing on the walls . We had dinner in the restaurant on our first night and it was very nice but on the expensive side , we had dinner locally at Carlucci on our 2nd night which was a nicer meal and around £20 cheaper , it's a chain but still quality Italian food.

From start to finish it was very disappointing , poor drink selection and not cheap either , didn't even serve a gin in a gin glass !!! Room was exceptable but definitely not executive as described!!!! Food was average .

Xmas party.they had obviously overbooked.they had to start moving tables as people couldn't get in comfortably one got placed in middle of dance floor.because of that meal was delivered late and to be honest shouldn't hve bothered prawn cocktail very bland and where was the sauce main wasn't too bad but child's portion and cheese and biscuits too much chunky cheese and not enough biscuits to use it up.then they had to move the tables again one placed rite at the only doorway absolutely horrendous especially if u had a disability and a fire appeared.the disabled toilet fell off and hit someone.i think if they hadn't been too greedy with ther numbers then it wood not hve been too bad but that's twice I've been here and ther won't be a third

Really enjoyed overnight stay for business. Etienne, Jason and rest of staff very helpful and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Nice surroundings and looking very festive. Was staying for business but would go back for pleasure.

I had a nice relaxing three night stay on a half board rate which was good value. The food in the restraunt was very good and tasty with a good choice of food for each course. I had a very nice welcome when checking in at the hotel reception, I was made welcome and recognised as a returning guest which made me feel special. The majority of the hotel staff were more than willing to help solve any problems that might of arised. On the morning of my check out of the hotel, I had a very nice chat and descussion with Jason the hotel's General Manager. He was very understanding of the points that I raised and I look forward to the next time I stay at the Best Western Plus Keavil House Hotel.

Breakfast was excellent. Room a little tired and needs attention to detail but for the price was good. Beautiful grounds. Fitness and pool excellent. Friendly and efficient staff. If in the area would stay there again

Aim to return time and time again where able as it's the one stop where I can be sure it is welcoming, clean with great facilities quality food and great staff, feels like a second home when away on regular work trips.

I never ever write reviews...bit this place needs condemned... This place was dirty. Vile dirty. I did not take a shower as the shower room was beyond dirty. Piss on the top of the bin by the toilet. Black mould shower hose, extremely water marked stainless..pubes on toilet seat,, black hair throughout showeroom...need I go on!? I had an apology and a couple of glasses of wine on the house but still expected to pay full price. I am also beyond convinced that my two young boys got some sort of bacteria/ stomach bug from their pool which had them vomiting in the middle of the night....I cannot stress enough this place is not fit for people to stay in. My boys keep telling me it was their worst holiday ever. DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL.

Lovely setting, very calming, and good value. Also, good gym facilities. Hotel is adjacent to the golf course. Set back 400 metres from the road, in large private grounds, very quiet. Highly recommended.

We were a party of four plus small dog,one executive room and one standard room for dog.we felt the rooms could do with an upgrade,the executive room had an awful lot of creaky floorboards which was ok during day but absolute horrendous noise at night!One of the party was glutenfree and vegetarian which we had made hotel aware when booking,extremely disappointed that they only had one main meal suitable which was risotto and was just like a plate of mush!was really hoping for at least a choice especially as you had plenty of warning!have to say though that breakfast was fine and the waitress went out her way to help!wont be staying again though as really expected hotel experience to be better. Late night noise from the outside corridor was horrendous until after midnight , I certainly would NOT rate this a 4* hotel and really quite overpriced .

We traveled from the U.S. and stayed just one night. The room was ample size, bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was quite nice. We stayed in a room with one queen and had my dad and daughter in a room with two twins. We both enjoyed the room. One item of note was no air conditioning so we opened the windows and got a nice breeze. For those who sleep hot you may not be as pleased especially during summer months. We enjoyed dinner at their restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed haggis filled chicken. I was pleasantly surprised to find the haggis was the best part. It's a must try at this place. This would be a great hotel for a romantic getaway if that is what you're looking for.

Great traditional hotel in beautifully kept grounds. Hotel full of character and has friendly, helpful staff in all areas, reception, maintenance, restaurant and leisure facilities. All areas extremely clean especially leisure centre. Rooms very generously sized with good bed linen and comfortable beds. Restaurant has good quality food, presented well and service is friendly and efficient. Staff go above and beyond at this hotel. Would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

We were 17 guests from all corners of Scotland and the hotel is easily reached. 50 minutes from Glasgow. An hour from Edinburgh. Two hours from Aberdeen. Under two hours from Dumfries. A very picturesque hotel and location. We were very well looked after by all staff. The General Manger tells me they can accommodate two weddings per day. It is a perfect location for a wedding. A shout out to Angela who looks after conferences and events. We came, we enjoyed, we'll be back.

This is the second overnight with family that we have had this year. Two adults and two kids (10 and 7) My mother also joined us with two small dogs. Rooms are comfy, staff are friendly, pool/sauna/steam room are great for relaxing or kids to play in. Burntisland is a short drive away, where we went with the kids for a chippy by the beach. We stayed dinner bed and breakfast. Food is amazing and the kids menu is tremendous. Our two loved it. WiFi was also of a good standard for the kids on their tablets.

Room telephone not working for both nights of our weekend stay; internet not working for both nights of our weekend stay; terrible food on the second night (maybe because private functions were on) but the food was cold & awful.

Personally i would check if there is a wedding on before booking hotel, as this was the case when we had booked and were treated secondary to the wedding party! We were paying customers and not catered for the same as wedding guests! We were asked to stay clear from the wedding which we did with no problem, but when we went for dinner we couldnt sit where we wanted due to the wedding guests taking up the outside area and it was a beautiful day and evening, so we sat inside but people were smoking just outside restaurant and was quite off putting. We finished dinner went to the bar and had to have 3 diffrerent drinks due to the bar at the wedding needing replenished! There was a hole in the bed sheets and the bathroom taps were dirty too! Staff were friendly and can only work with what they have, so think the Manager needs to look at some of these issues to ensure all guests have a good experience not just larger groups! I did send email with issues but still looking forward to reply!!

Stayed here and eaten here a number of times over the years as family is close by. Not stayed since before covid and first time we have found issues that do need addressing. I should say that I emailed direct to the general manager on our return but so far no answer. We stayed in room 26. Pretty standard room. The ensuite was poorly maintained with two taps badly damaged, something we haven't seen anywhere before. If it happens they should be replaced or repaired but not in this case. Dinner was OK but my wife not impressed with her mashed potato which she was convinced was instant, at least it tasted like it. Worse was breakfast.I ordered omlette which had more white areas than yellow and was leathery. My wife ordered poached eggs on toast. I wish now that I had taken a photo as the plate arrived with two slices of cold toast with barely warm untrimmed poached eggs dumped on the side. It looked very unappetising.Not even greasy spoon standard. In essence the food offering which was previously so good was nowhere near acceptable. I notice stereotype responses to negative comments so no reason to expect any different this time. We may stay again in the hope that things have improved in the kitchen and they have caught up on maintenance.

We stayed at Keavil House on Tuesday having made the booking for an Executive room via a Rewards scheme. On reaching our room and found that it was a Family room not an Executive my husband went to reception to question it to be told that the hotel was fully booked and that an Executive room wasn't available so we had been ‘upgraded' to the Family room. This was no upgrading but a downgrading. The extra space was taken up by two camp bed style single beds that we had no use for, the only window was in the part of the room with the single beds so the part of the room we were using was very gloomy. The décor was very tired and no way resembled the picture on the web of the room we were expecting. As for the bathroom it didn't live up to any expectations given by the website. It was small, there were no usable vanity areas. There were two half used shower gel bottles in the shower area, one in the corner shower tray and the other on the soap tray attached to the shower pole. The floor tile grouting was stained and especially bad around the toilet. The toilet itself was too close to the wall for comfort to the point where the toilet roll was digging in your ribs. To top it all there was a very bad smell of unclean drains which greeted you immediately you entered the room. There was disturbance all night from what sounded like a compressor that cut in and out at regular intervals. By 6am the regularity had increased so that it would cut out and re-start again in less than a minute. We ate in the restaurant for ease that evening. We chose the steak which was very nice. But having asked for mustard 4 sachets of something called ‘yellow mustard' were brought to us. This was very vinegary and no substitute for English mustard. At no time whilst we were eating our main course or indeed when the plates were cleared were we asked if everything was OK with the meal, I am no fan of sitting at the table waving my arms in an attempt to attract the attention of staff! In my opinion the hotel does not live up to the ethos of the ‘Best Western PLUS' Brand.

Had an overnight stay for my husbands birthday, room was lovely and all staff extremely friendly and attentive Breakfast was freshly cooked Didn't used the spa facilities but will do this on next stay

We went for weekend and our room originally didn't have WIFI connection on speaking to the reception staff they couldn't have been more helpful..We were given another room and a voucher each for money off our meal in restaurant, The staff are all lovely and the young woman who was on the night and in the morning after we checked in was so nice and nothing was a bother to her, She went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one Also the duty manager who is in restaurant is lovely and very tentative, She makes you feel very comfortable and nothing is to much bother for her.. The leisure facilities are fab and I thoroughly enjoyed swimming here several times..A gem of a hotel and the owners are very lucky to have such great staff on board.

We are just back from an overnight stay and the entrance to the Hotel is lovely. The gardens are beautifully kept. On arrival we were given a warm welcome from Dawn and told all the information we needed regarding restaurant and leisure centre. The swimming pool has everything you need and is perfect for adults and has a area for children. Thoroughly enjoyable. We booked for the restaurant and the staff were very professional and pleasant. Thanks to the barman, Andrew and the girls for their service. The meals were very enjoyable. We had a lovely room that opened out to the gardens. Thanks to all staff at Keavil. You are all doing a good job. If we are in the area on another occasion we will definitely be back.

Very pleased with this hotel, lovely room and excellent service in the dining room. We stayed 2 nights with breakfast and evening meal. The menu was good and food well prepared. The breakfast had a great range of food and plenty of it. We didn't use the leisure facilities which looked very good so will come prepared for the pool next time.

I love this hotel. The facilities are very good and staff are always helpful and friendly. my biggest and really only gripe is the food. Don't get me wrong, it is very nice and cooked to a high standard but the restaurant menu is a little fancy for my taste and there isn't a lot that i eat on it and it is very expensive also. I paid £3.50 for some bread and butter as a starter and got 5 slices of bread, the fact that this is supposedly for 2 to share baffles me. Pre COVID, breakfast was a buffet and although now you know it is cooked fresh, the portions are a little light, plus you have to ask for toast and hot drinks which to me at least stops me ordering more. It would benefit from having a mini fridge in the bedroom so that i could perhaps have a bottle of milk rather than the small pots of milk that are standard.

We stayed here for 3 nights for our honeymoon. The hotel is lovely with a very comfortable bed, great health centre on site, and beautiful gardens. I've rated 4 out of 5 because the shower water pressure was weak and the wifi wouldn't connect on days 2 and 3. Overall, great place to stay.

We have stayed in this hotel on three occasions over the past 12 months. It's a lovely hotel to relax in and we've taken family members too. The food is always excellent and reasonably priced. The staff are happy and friendly.

After a stressful.tiring day had a checkin and was quoted bed only I questioned this as i was sure i had booked on booking.com a b and b rate. The lovely receptionist asked me to check my confirmation and whilst she was been helpful another gentleman came out and explained that it was a room only rate and it can be quite misleading on booking.com. They were absolutely right and i asked for breakfast to be added. Had a fantastic relaxing few hours in the Leisure Club which is superb. Sadly after dinner in Dunfermline we decided an early night was called for. We noticed a loud noise which we thought was the room next door having a shower. Sadly this noise carried on for the 2 hours we were trying tonget to sleep. In the end i contacted reception and they said they would send someone up to check things out a lovely Duty Manager knocked on the door and i asked him to come in to listen to the noise. He did and explained that the hotel.was old and that was the water pipes and boiler. He explained they were just starting to get back on track after covid and as i was testy and extremely tired and frustrated I said could you sleep.through that he said I cant answer that i had to ask.were there any spare rooms and I was told we are extremely busy tonight but he would check. At this point i was so tired i said i wanted to speak.to the manager in the morning as this room should not be sold with the noise which started or had started at 7.30pm, i called reception at 10.45pm and its now 11.35pm and the noise is unbearable. AVOID ROOM 103!!!!! I dont know if any other rooms have the same noise, i hope they dont as its unacceptable. Booked at short notice for a overnight stop whilst travelling to see family.....never again!!

We stayed for 4 night and it was our first time in Scotland. The location was perfect and the room was large, clean ad tidy. The hotel was beautiful and the staff couldn't do enough to make our stay pleasant, we will definitely visit again.

Another brilliant stay at the Keavil ,which is now my favourite hotel getaway .A massive thank you to Dawn on reception who managed to get us a garden room which is such a plus ,especially in the good weather we had lately .Reception staff were amazing as always ,waiting staff again as always exceptional, always go above and beyond. The pool and leisure area is amazing, spotlessly clean and the pool and hot tub is very warm and inviting. The food is lovely and reasonably priced for a hotel, breakfast is great and the continental buffet section has really improved since last time we were there .If you are lucky enough to stay in this beautiful hotel please try to get a garden room, the grounds are very well kept with lots of flowers and beautiful lavender plants, we also had the honour of a beautiful little robin which came to visit us a few times. My new no 1 hotel.

With the weather being hot, to have a room on the ground floor meant we could open the door and walk out on to the grass, cup of tea in hand! The lavender outside by the door smelt gorgeous! A wonderful setting for a hotel, and only wish we had more time to stay longer. Staff wonderful.

A really great place to escape for a night. Food excellent, lovely ambiance and really quiet. Staff welcoming and nothing a bother. Swimming pool a good size and every detail thought out. Grounds/ gardens are uplifting.

After being let down on a Friday night by a Booking.com apartment we called the Best Western Kevail who were so so helpful and accommodating and managed to get a family room available right away so we could get two very tired wee kids to bed. Nothing was too much bother for the staff. They put a big bag of food we had bought for our apartment stay in one of the hotel fridges so it didn't go to waste and they managed to get us a couple of neighbouring rooms for our second nights stay. Breakfast was lovely too, a great selection of cereals to pick from to allow kids to get eating as soon as they sit down! Any parents with young kids will appreciate that!! And a lovely cooked breakfast too. I'm not the type to bother writing reviews but the customer service from every member of staff we spoke to was first class. On top of the service quality the hotel was lovely. The rooms were all spotless, spacious and nicely decorated. And had curtains that actually keep the light out, another important factor when hoping that young kids fall asleep quickly and don't wake early!! All in all a highly recommended place to stay. We were at Knockhill race circuit both days which is just 15mins drive away, so did have time to use the spa but from what I could see it looked very nice too.

stayed here while away on business. Has great facilities with the spa next door and a very nice restaurant. Rooms are perfect. Nice soft bed, plenty of room for storage and a lovely bathroom. Had dinner in the restaurant which was also very good. Spa facilities were good aswell. Unfortunately in the morning it all went down hill. Breakfast service was poor. No spoon provided for tea/coffee, no sugar offered and took 20 minutes to order hot food. Also zero toast on offer which was annoying as i love a bit of toast with my breakfast. Also ran out of juice which wasnt restocked the whole time we was down. Breakfast however was okay. Good quality sausage and beans. Bacon however i am pretty sure was spoiled as it was grey when it and smelt weird. Overall good stay but let down badly in the morning.

Visited as a couple. Stayed two nights but to be fair if I'd know how old and tired it was, I'd have booked somewhere else. The staff in the main were lovely. Very welcoming and helpful. The leisure facilities were great, especially the pool and the gym. Really good. The restaurant was alright but I wouldn't pay £14.90 for breakfast, sorry not worth it. The room (deluxe four poster) was not nice. Old, tired, and dirty. Accessorised very barely, no nice bedspreads etc like in photos, dusty and dirty. Remote control didn't work,keys persistently didn't work. Bathroom was fine, seemed recently done. I didn't bother to complain about our issues because given the poor state of the common corridors it was clear that they wouldnt have been addressed to my satisfaction. Definitely regret paying extra for a deluxe four poster room. But as I say, the staff were friendly and welcoming and that deserves the grading.

Hard working team who welcome and take good care of their guests. Reception, housekeeping and restaurant staff were all excellent. Food was delicious and well presented. Swimming pool was delightful, clean and safe. Will return soon.

First time staying here! Arrived at 3pm went into reception to check in. Previously they had sent an email to complete to check in but I prefer to check in at reception however this was not an option as the girl on reception made us stand there & do our own check in online ? Strange I thought ! By this time is was now 3.15pm and our room was not ready! No apology just a mumble that they were running late ! We said we would go into bar and get a coffee whilst waiting - girl said they would come & get us when room was ready. By 4 pm I was starting to get a bit narked so went back to reception & another receptionist had a look & our room was ready - pity they hadn't let us know as agreed ! By this time I was a bit disappointed with the hotel and lack of communication. They did however pick up the tab for the coffee. Room was nice & clean - bed was very very comfy ❤️ Leisure was outside hotel but very nice & the jacuzzi was amazing. Dinner was very nice & service was very good. Breakfast was not so well organised although the food was delicious it was let down by the waitress - who forgot the butter & hot water we asked for ! The toast & tea were stone cold by that time ! When we asked again for it - no apology. Just wee things I know but I like my tea & toast hot ! Overall it was the small things that let it down - I would definitely go back & hopefully next time the room will be ready !!

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years and there are many reasons we keep coming back. The rooms are large and spotless and this time was no exception. Bathroom was so clean I couldn't find a thing to moan about ;) having worked in hotels for many years I am hard to please when it comes to room cleaning.. This room was on the ground floor with the doors that open on to the lovely gardens we love that we can just have our morning tea and listen to the birds. Only issue we had was it was soo warm the second night they provided us with a fan which helped. I didn't feel comfortable leaving the windows wide open as they didn't have any restrictors so they were wide wide open. That said second night with the fan helped. Reception staff brought it very quickly. We also were woken a few times as right outside the room is creaky floor boards so it sounds like someone is at the door every time someone passes didn't make for a totally relaxed sleep for me... Hubby sleeps for the dead so he was fine haha. The breakfast was great everything cooked to our liking.. The second morning though at even 8.30 there were soo many dirty tables everywhere and they stayed that way all the the way through the 45 mins we were there, people coming in and waiting as they weren't cleared. Breakfast wasn't that busy and staff walked round the dishes rather than clearing them, not a nice impression to give but with that said staff are lovely here although some seem quite new but nothing was to much trouble at all. We ate both nights at the hotel to and the food was lovely and staff very attentive the fish deserves a special mention so lovely batter was excellent :) I wasn't to well the second night and the staff quickly arranged for my meal to be sent to my room with no fuss which I was extremely grateful for very attentive and helpful. the pool area and steam room were great also very clean. Would lovr to get a spa day here but they dont offer treatments which I think is a shame but again staff here were so friendly. We will come back as we love the place and the location is great not to far from home and still has wonderful staff who totally make this place special. The grounds and location is central but has the feeling of a quiet country escape. Next time we will try different rooms upstairs so I can get a better night's sleep :)

Stayed here for a 2 night weekender. The staff are amazingly friendly. The breakfast is spot on and the hotel is more than adequate. It is looking very tired in places and the rooms could do with some upgrades and so could some of the public spaces. That aside. A very enjoyable stay and would stay here again

We stayed at the hotel for one night and found the accommodation excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful though some did show signs of inexperience. The food was excellent for the evening meal with the haggis bon bons being particularly mentionable. However, breakfast was a different story with the omelate lacking flavour and the black pudding and bacon being over cooked and dry. However, overall it was a great stay. The large comfortable beds were most welcome!

I stayed at this hotel for a hen night and the facilities were good and the staff went out of their way to make the evening special. The only criticism would be the over zealous housekeeping staff who kept entering the room before check out time to clean the room when we were trying to relax and say our goodbyes. We felt pressured to leave. Not classy.

This hotel was lovely. Very clean, nice surroundings and the Spa and pool were a delight. All the staff were so friendly and attentive, always cheery and nothing was any bother to them. Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay.

We were very impressed by Keavil House. The staff were kind and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble. The facilities in the spa although dated were clean and easily accessible. The breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice. I have nothing negative to say at all.

I stayed here for 2 nights with children. We had interconnecting rooms which were very spacious. Dinner excellent. Health spa excellent. Whole experience 100% definitely recommend Staff were very attentive and nothing was a bother to them

Could not fault this hotel. From making the booking, checking in, using the Leisure facilities and dining in the restaurant. Staff were friendly and efficient and the meal was lovely. Would highly recommend the hotel and will most definitely be back again soon.

I booked this hotel for two reasons. The main reason was the fact it had a gym and a sauna. It is something I always look for when I am away. Reason two was for the 4-star rating that it has. The hotel lived up to expectations in most ways, and the four stars are because the sauna was a very good sauna and the staff are more than helpful when needed. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel is dated, but not in all rooms as I found on my second visit. As soon as you walk through the front door which bangs on entry and exit you can sense it needs upgrading. I was here for 6 nights so got a feel of what things were like. My first room was on the ground floor. In the corridor just down from reception through the first door. These rooms are in need of an update. Changing the carpets and wood decor is necessary. The windows open around 3 inches max and can be difficult to close if you cannot read how to close them. When you switched the bathroom light on the fan kicks in. This sounds like a jet fighter taking off. It continues to run for a few minutes extra after you have finished. The furniture is all old dark wood, and it makes the room feel dark and old, along with the aged carpets. The radiators and heating work when it feels like. Sometimes it was on, and other times it was off even if the radiator was set to on. It could be quite cold in the evenings, as the heating did not seem to work all the time. The rooms are cleaned daily and the cleaners do a good job, but sometimes miss out on the coffee and tea top-ups. On my 3rd night, I requested a new room for the next day. They get quite a lot of works employees staying, which is no problem. However, when two of them are sharing the room above you, you can feel and hear every footstep that they make because of the wooden floors needing sorting out above. They creak and bang with every footstep. You can even hear the cupboards moving on the floor above and the doors banging. If you are a light sleeper, request a room on the top floor. I was moved to the room upstairs for the rest of my stay. The decor was exactly the same as the previous room. Total upgrade needed. The radiator in this room failed to work at all and the manager brought me an electric radiator until it kicked in. It did kick in around 2 am. There was some kind of boiler in the room somewhere that kicks in during the day and in the evenings. It was a windy night and you could hear the corridor doors banging because of a draft all night. The fire doors do not close fully, and for light sleepers, this is noisy. Breakfast is served by friendly staff, and they do a good job. It is warm and welcome and was never an issue. A good Italian coffee machine would be nice. The gym, sauna, and pool are the bonus for this hotel, and the friendly staff keep the hotel running smoothly. I would recommend it and use it again for these reasons. On my 2nd stay I was given an upgrade on arrival and stayed in a room on the ground floor further down through the hotel. This was a much quieter room with a nice view out of the window, which actually opened all the way this time. The décor was better and it was clear that this room had been updated. It was exactly the same layout as my previous room, but a few small changes make all the difference. The dark wood was still present and could really do with being replaced, but you can see the amount of work that would be needed to do that. Staff are really friendly and the gym is a godsend if like me you like to use the sauna and gym on a daily basis. I enjoyed both of my stays and would definitely recommend the hotel. Some of the floorboards need sorting in some of the rooms for a good nights sleep. But the friendly staff are there to help if you have any issues.

Spent 2 nights on a D,B&B deal. Room was an executive, good size and possibly recently decorated, no scuffs or tired looking grout. All fresh and lovely huge bath. Room took a few hour to heat up, but once heated was fine, maybe hadn't been used for a few days. Meals portions were large, but still managed to do the 3 courses, just! £30 meal allocation each, which allowed you to get 3 courses from most offerings on the menu. 4 different dinners and all lovely. Breakfast great too, potato scones instead of hash browns would have made it perfect. Staff very attentive and helpful, but not overbearing. Only a couple of miles from Dunfermline Town centre and Pittencrief Park.

Stayed here on the 19th of March with my daughter . We had a lovley evening and the food was fantastic . At breakfast my scrambled egg wasn't cooked as much as I wanted there was no issue when I asked for it to be cooked more they could not have been more helpful.Restaurant staff were fantastic and will definitely be recommending the hotel to family and friends

I am extremely shocked to have come back from my stay and seen all positive and amazing reviews as it is very different from my stay! My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. Upon arrival (check in 15.00pm) that our room wasn't ready- at 16.00pm we were told our room was ready. We stayed for 2 nights with absolutely nothing included and spent a lot of money despite us having to wait an extra hour you'd think they would put a complimentary breakfast on one of the days. We attended the restaurant within the hotel on the first night of our stay. Both ordered ribeye steak which we refuse to believe that what was put in front of us. We were having to cut round fat to find bits of steak and it is also very expensive for what you actually get. We were never asked how our food was however we did address that our food was poor and the waitress was silent and said absolutely nothing- as if we just had to deal with it. I refuse to believe that the staff went ‘above and beyond' our experience with the staff was extremely poor. Not once during my stay did I feel welcomed to the hotel. On departure my boyfriend was asked how the stay was, his reply was ‘the food wasn't great'. The girl at the reception at the time response was ‘alright, see you later'. The staff clearly aren't bothered about there customers stays. My boyfriend and I are not locals and after speaking to a few locals the same things were said how the hotel has went extremely down hill. The only positives from the hotel was it was clean, comfortable and the swimming pool area was nice. Apart from that we will not be back and I would never recommend anyone to stay there either.

Beautiful location . Feels like you are a million miles away . First impressions: staff! They went above and beyond from the minute we arrived . There was no holding back on quantity or quality when it came to the finishing touches or the extras that were served with meals or drinks . The food was out of this world , the atmosphere was chilled . There was a mix of people from clearly all different backgrounds etc and it was clear that the staff didn't treat anyone any different . The customer service levels were 5 star . Happy happy team thats for sure . The rooms were clean and basic and catered for what you required on booking . The health spa included in the stay was a lovely bonus . Full use of everything. Spent a lot of time in our room as we did over indulge on the cocktails and food but who could blame us. Requested a private area to dine and were catered for every time . I think the staff at the keavil should be really proud of themselves for the effort and hard work that goes into that place . Will definitely be back and even more so in the summer as I can only imagine how beautiful the place really becomes when in full bloom .

A lovely hotel with great facilities for the price. Very comfortable beds and well appointed rooms and bathrooms. Hotel is set in picturesque grounds about 0.5 miles from main road (accessed via a long driveway), so no disturbing outside noise. Fitness centre has a decent size pool, a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi and gym with plenty of up to date equipment. Plenty of car parking spaces and lovely grounds to sit in or wander if weather is nice ... Restaurant also has an outside terrace which would be lovely on sunny days, warm evenings. Staff were very nice, especially at the check in/reception, and the fitness centre. I would say that this hotel is fantastic value for money considering the facilities on offer. It's a perfect base for exploring the nearby (2 mile) historic town of Dunfermline and surrounding areas. The long (0.5 mile) driveway leading from main road to hotel is unlit at night so requires caution if walking. A taxi from hotel to Dunfermline town centre is approx £10. Some great bars and restaurants in town centre. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Had a one night stay at Keavil House, dinner, bed and breakfast. Room was superb, really clean and comfortable with a four poster bed. Large bathhroom was immaculate and a great view into the hotel gardens from the windows and door. Food was of great quality in the restaurant and like wise the breakfast was also the same. Overall I really recommend Keavil, great friendly staff and superb amenities.

Nice and comfortable place with a sensual climate. My family has really enjoyed it as we have been looking for spa facilities as well. Lovely area for sightseeing. We have been travelling with our friends and have had 2 separate rooms next to each other which has been an asset.

I am always full of admiration for this hard working team led by Mr Doga, General Manager. He orchestrates a team who all deserve plaudits. A guest can only recall a few outstanding names, but they were all very professional and friendly. Craig, Head Receptionist, is a fine ambassador for the hotel. Friendly, helpful and professional. Always knows which room I like in the Hotel. Nicola at reception was especially helpful to my relative, a guest I had booked an additional room for, just a few days before our longstanding booking. Great customer service skills when a difficulty was encountered. Rachel, Duty Manager, is a young woman who instills great confidence in any guest. She has the capacity to observe every situation and immediately identifies what is required. Friendly, professional and helpful. I had the pleasure of engaging, this visit, with Etienne. Utterly charming Duty Manager, professional and with a good sense of humour. He made our visit really special and my guests, (Mother and my Cousin) were singing his praises. Chris (Operations) sorted all issues cheerfully, and lastly, Brian has maintained the landscaping beautifully, in challenging circumstances.

Absolutely excellent hotel. Facilities were first class with the pool etc. All staff were courteous and extremely helpful. Food was excellent. All areas were very clean. Looking forward to a summer visit to enjoy the gardens. Great family venue

We have stayed here a few times. On arrival, we asked for a quiet room away from family rooms after a previous bad experience at another hotel. Receptionist & Duty Manager found the perfect room for us. We had a quiet relaxing 3 night stay. Will definitely be returning soon!!!

This was a truly memorable stay. The restaurant is top notch and the leisure facilities wonderful. The people are so friendly. The star of the show was however Daniel the Maitre d' who went that extra mile in helping me out. A true Gentleman. I can't wait to come back and explore the beautiful countryside . I would not hesitate to stay here again. It's great value, warm and welcoming. Highly recommended.!!

Was great from start to finish could have had a better view though but the room was perfect. Executive double. Bed was huge and the staff were really friendly. Only thing was I felt there could have been more on offer with the breakfast but all in all would defo stay again.

We have returned today from a 1 night stay, B&B (although we had dinner at the hotel), 2 adult and 2 kids (7yo & 9yo). My expectations weren't high, as we booked direct with the hotel and it was less than £130. I'm blown away by the value for money here! We have had a few overnights of late, Stirling, Edinburgh etc. And tbh, had felt a decline in service levels. We aren't ones to complain though, and put it down to Covid and the stress on the industry, staff shortages etc., which is understandable; however, the service we received at this hotel was phenomenal! Without a doubt, the most valuable asset this hotel has is its staff. Some of the warmest and most welcoming people you will meet! Every single staff member, regardless of their role, were friendly and helpful. Couldn't do enough for you and genuinely appeared to enjoy their jobs. Before I left I saw one of the maintenance team come through the leisure centre main door, hear something a little off and straight away, he was getting a screwdriver to fix it. That was the attitude throughout the place. Staff who seemed invested in their jobs, trying to make everything perfect. ROOMS - clean and comfy beds. We were in the family room, which was really spacious and comfy. FOOD - top class! There is a kids menu although it isn't on the website. Main meals were £5 and HUGE! 5 or 6 options to choose from too. My wife didn't like her main meal (pasta), but not through poor quality, it just wasnt to her taste. We didn't complain, but a staff member noticed she hadn't eaten much of it and in the end, removed it from our bill, but we didn't ask for this. Very kind and understanding. The rest of us loved our food and breakfast was outstanding! Really high quality and fairly priced. POOL - great size and room for the kids to play about without getting in the way of anyone wanting a swim. Also a small kids pool for younger kids, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. LOCATION- we went to Burntisland today and were so lucky with the weather for Feb in Scotland! Really sunny and the beach is blocked from the wind. I think it was around 20 mins drive. We then drove to Culross, which was 30 mins. Really picturesque. My wife wanted to see some of the locations that a series she watches was filmed at. Cant remember the name though. All in all and brilliant overnight. All of us loved it and can't wait to go back. Best overnight in years. 5* The photo is Burntisland beach.

Stayed for one night in this hotel. Very clean, large room, comfy bed good heating. Reception didn't make mention of anniversary stay which was disappointing. Next door snoring was very annoying at bedtime, seemed like they were in the room with us so definitely not sound proof! Water in morning shower wasn't even lukewarm.

Had a fabulous 2 night stay. Very clean and comfortable, staff were amazing and made us feel special. Food was yummy and the leisure area, spa was spotless . Would highly recommend a stay at this hotel

Some of the best staff i have come across at a hotel in recent years. Great facilities, comfortable beds, ideally located and the leisure facility is a nice added bonus. Will be staying here on future business trips.

The hotel looked nice, however when we got to what we were told was an exec room by Central reservations, it clearly was not. Room decor very tired sat in the seat then the arm of the chair came away, dents in walls. We could hear the next door TV through the wall and their conversation. The leisure center was good and in general the staff were friendly. But definetly not worth the 24,000 points taken from my rewards account.

This was a gift! Superior room was really spacious and mattress was excellent on bed. Slept so well. Room was very clean. Had dinner there too, food was superbly cooked as was breakfast. Couldn't fault it! Leisure facility not connected to hotel across car park so not for me. Overall, I will be back for a chill out!

Stayed in better value budget (Premier Inn) & cheaper up market (Hilton Hotels) Breakfast bland & luke warm, had to re ask for our toast then served dry. butter brought to table much later, served ½ a slice of Haggis with Full English. Lock on ensuite door did not work, light over vanity mirror so dim I had to apply my makeup in the ensuite as better lighting. Checked prices online & discovered we were charged £154 for a standard double priced around £81. Friends stayed on the same night in a free upgraded to executive room for less (£141) no upgrade was offered to us. Room was clean & bed was comfortable.

Thank you to all the staff at Keavil House! We stayed on the 30th Dec for our 12 year wedding anniversary and we were totally impressed. The superior room had a very very comfy bed. We win a quiz too! The spa was lovely, the food was amazing - big compliments to the chef as I am Dairy Free and he made me the best dish of 2021!!! Thank you. Our room was gorgeous, spotless clean, cosy and warm. The staff are happy at work and it shows. Felt very safe as good Covid19 procedures are in place. I cannot fault our stay, we cannot wait to visit again. All the best for 2022!

Room was freezing on arrival after 4pm on a freezing winter day. Huge radiator in large twin room was set at "off". The hallway was warmer. The decor was very 70's! Surprised, I expected more up to date from this well known hotel. Our room was mainly dark, depressing mahogany. Bathroom basic. Breakfast was good, but we had to go ask someone to bring tea, coffee, etc. Staff not particularly attentive & hadn't even noticed our arrival.

wow to the hotel, wow to the staff, wow to the food and wow to the leisure club and staff. we shall be back. cant say anything nice enough we just had a great experience from start to finish. great hotel in great surroundings.

We came for the christmas party night on the saturday but stayed 2 nights. the whole experience has left me with a sense of joy after what can only be described as 2 years of Hell . The staff were amazing from the second we walked through the door and greeted by the friendly reception staff The waiters and waitresses and barstaff doing the party night were so cheerful and they actually came across like they wanted to be there and full of smiles . The general manager , i think his name was jason was on hand also and was also very friendly and hands on too. On sunday in the restaraunt the food was Lovely , I would highly recommend the surf and turf , and the staff were just as friendly and polite as the previous night. Our room was lovely and clean and we got the pleasure of meeting some of the housekeeping staff aswell who were also very friendly and attentive. If you stay in this hotel be sure to make use of the leasure facilities , so relaxing and clean and I have to say its the best hotel swimming pool we have used And it seems all the staff are happy to work at the keavil as the leasure club staff were joyous and friendly and happy to help . Thankyou to you all for lifting our spirits and kicking off our festivities with a fabulous memory . merry christmas xx

The breakfasts are excellent quality and the evening menu is really flavoursome .The free use if the spa area is a bonus. All the staff are so helpfull and attentive.We have visited 4 times and highly recommend it.

Had a wonderful stay here. Spa is amazing and so relaxing with all the families to a very high standard. Very friendly staff who were helpful, funny and kind. Beds are so comfortable and I'm very fussy about beds but slept so well. All round brilliant stay. Second time here and will return.

Absolutely shocking experience! Had to wait almost two hours past check in time to be allocated a room AND only getting one after refusing to move from reception! There was a large group of young party goers who were clearly inebriated, being sick everywhere and the toilets were disgusting! The same group were allowed to jump around dance floor (not dancing!) and not once checked by any member of staff! A really bad experience! Also wont be surprised if there is an outbreak of COVID as the tables were too close together and no-one was checking the party goers for not wearing masks!

Stayed here for a Xmas party night and overnight stay. There was only one receptionist on duty and a long line of guests waiting to check in. I used the online check in prior to arriving , however had to wait 20 mins to get service. The room was nice clean and comfortable, shower was poor, a very light spray and look really old. I tried to phone reception at least 10 times and was directed to a full voice mail. My friends and i attended the xmas party and, the venue looked lovely, however the meal started at 7.30 and the music did not start until 10.30. It just too ages for the meal to be over with. I had the goats cheese and it was hard and could not be spread on the breads that came with it. The Turkey was hard and dry and processed :( the Tart was so hard , you could not slice it:( that cost £37.50. The young waiting staff were polite and worked hard. The Disco was not any better, Not one Christmas song played, all EDM dance music. We left for our room at 23.30. At 1.30 we woke up to the shouting, screaming and jumping in the rooms above and in corridors. This went on for 10-15 mins then stopped abruptly ,so i could only imagine that someone complained. Breakfast included Cereals, Croissants fresh orange coffee tea toast and cooked breakfast. There was no Croissants or orange juice left. It was not replenished. The fried eggs were burnt to a crisp, had to scrape the egg off the burnt base. Never had eggs like that in a hotel! Just not a good experience. Wont be back.

My fiancée and I stayed here from the 26th to 28th November 2021. We arrived excited but didn't exactly get the warmest welcome. I was very confused by the receptionist who said that my card hadn't been charged and needed charged. I had paid the stay in advance and as you can imagine began looking for my confirmation email. She then explained that because I paid Hotels.com she needed to charge them. Why she had to tell us this and cause such confusion I don't know. Later on the night of arrival, the hotel experienced a power cut due to Storm Arwyn which I absolutely understand could not be helped. However the response of the hotel reception was terrible. At no point did anyone phone our room or come to our room to explain what was happening. I went to reception where the same receptionist was sat in the dark on her phone and not even looking at me when I asked if there was a power cut. It was the restaurant staff who came to help and gave us candles. They explained what was happening whilst the receptionist sat on her mobile. Due to the power cut the taps stopped working and there was no water. But there was absolutely no offer of any bottled water and this lasted 3.5 hours. I was gobsmacked that a Best Western hotel would offer such poor service. However, the breakfasts we had were lovely as were the restaurant staff. There was also an older male on reception during the stay who was super helpful. The bed was also super comfy. It's just a shame that the initial female receptionist had such a poor attitude. She must have been having a really off day. I certainly was annoyed by her poor service given what I had paid for the two nights! I was very close to checking out in the Friday night and going elsewhere.

Total disappointment. After reading all the great reviews on this supposedly 4 star hotel and looking at the pictures of the beautiful room's on there website I decided to book this for my wife's birthday. On arrival we had a speedy check in and allocated room 17. On the way to the room the hallway carpet was heavily stained, the doors dirty and in need of painting. the room was tired looking and the heating didn't work and it certainly didn't look like any of the photos on the website. The manager was reluctant to move us and put an electric heater in the room. After challenging this I was offered a second room which wasn't any better. I showed the manager photos of the rooms advertised on their website only to be told that there were no rooms like that and photographers had a way on enhancing and making things look better than they actually are. A third room was offered that slightly resembled one of the rooms on the website which we accepted but still not a 4 star in my opinion. On a positive note breakfast was great but would have been better if we got the toast we ordered I certainly wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone Maximum 2 star

Just back from a 2 night stay at the Keavil House Hotel. As weekends away are few and far between due to family circumstances they are precious to my husband and myself. We managed to get a last minute booking in an executive room to give us that bit extra space to relax. Although room 103 was cold on arrival it was acceptable for us. However shortly before going to dinner we noticed that there was a noise like constant running water. It was still there when we returned to our room. The manager came up and said it was the water tanks constantly filling and offered to move us to a smaller room which we gratefully accepted as we would have had a very disturbed sleep. The following morning we went for breakfast which was included in our stay only to be asked if we had booked a table. This is the first time we have ever encountered having to book a table for breakfast. At reception the previous afternoon we were asked if we had booked a table for an evening meal. No mention was made of breakfast nor was there any information in the room regarding breakfast. We had asked about breakfast times at dinner but were not made aware that we had to book a table. We were asked to wait in the lounge until a table became available while other guests who had booked tables continued to be seated in the restaurant. When asked to go through to a table we pointed out that a gentleman had already been waiting there longer than our 20 minutes. We were told that there were more tables available but he still had another 5 minutes wait after us. We asked for milk to go with our porridge which never arrived until I complained 5 minutes later? The next table asked for orange juice which never arrived. They just got up and left. Twice throughout our stay staff tried to give us drinks that were ordered for other tables. They also tried to serve the same drinks twice to another table. The restaurant seemed to be staffed mostly with young inexperienced staff who struggled to cope in a very busy environment. We took time to register our complaints with the duty supervisor and the manager. They accepted our complaints and said that they had 2 weddings on that day with a great influx of guests arriving for breakfast at the same time. The blame was put on new reception staff not passing on the correct information and a lot of inexperienced staff in the restaurant. We booked an earlier breakfast today. It was like night and day. The same staff not under pressure gave us excellent service. We certainly don't feel that we have had a 4 star experience at this hotel and therefore would certainly not recommend it for a relaxing break.

We stayed in a family room for two nights. Our room was in need of refurbishment. It was old fashioned, tired and required a deep clean. The shower curtain was fit for the bin and the sofa bed was so uncomfortable we asked for another duvet to fold up and lie on. It looked like chewing gum had been trampled into the carpet and the fan in the bathroom was caked in dust. We didn't eat, have drinks or used the swimming pool in the hotel so can't comment on the facilities. What we saw of the restaurant it looked nice and recently refurbished. Had Nicola asked how our stay was when we checked out we'd have given our feedback prior to leaving.

This hotel is quite some distance away from the road, despite being in the centre of the town, so tricky to access if not on private transport. Problems with heating on first night - no heat at all in the rooms but there was a warning about hot water problems so that may explain it. However, they should have offered additional electric heating and they did not. Room service only average with our wash hand basin not cleaned throughout our 3 night stay, but I can put this down to staff shortages. Breakfast very good, if slow at times once again down to staff shortages.

We had an excellent 2 night stay, friendly staff, lovely hotel in a quiet location, lovely room with tea/coffee provided, spotlessly clean throughout the hotel and the leisure facilities were excellent with a lovely spotlessly clean pool and jacuzzi.

Polite friendly staff that went out there way to help. Pillows not great in bed and bar prices expensive over £10 for a pint and a vodka fresh orange. Room was nice and comfortable but needed a freshen up but very clean.

Room and facilities clean. Pool/sauna & steam room lovely. The best things however has to be the food and the staff. Breakfast was an absolute treat and evening meals were among some of the best food we have ever had. The waiting staff were attentive, fast and friendly and so nice we will definitely return. Please pass on our compliments to all concerned and we will see you all again soon.

The staff were very friendly, professional and extremely helpful throughout our stay. The food was absolutely delicious and the facilities were great. Our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels each time. The hotel was in a lovely quiet location and a suitable distance away from Edinburgh city centre. Plenty of space for parking. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The best western plus is a lovely hotel with access to the leisure centre. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. The staff wear masks around the hotel and visitors are expected to do the same. The food in the restaurant is excellent we ate there every night and each meal was delicious. The only downside is I wish someone would teach all staff how to clean tables properly.

Hotel needs some work doing to it for a 4 star hotel and the price. It hasn't had a refurb for a while and the rooms are old fashioned and this shows. The spa is of a good standard, but the changing rooms, sauna and steam room need some updating. It was quite busy in the pool so getting a chance in the hot tub was hit and miss. Restaurant served nice food, but with a wedding on the same evening it seemed staff may have been stretched and the cocktails were not to the standard I would expect for £8. Staff were friendly no complaints there. Breakfast was good value for money at £14 each for everything we wanted.

Very nice hotel in a quiet area. The staff are very friendly and helpful making you feel very relaxed. Our dinning experience was very good. Staff very nice and pleasant. The two evening meals taken were very enjoyable. Breakfast was also very good and you had plenty of choice. We went for a swim and had a good experience in the leisure centre. Plenty of parking.

A great weekend break away,Staff in thehotel are brilliant,every single memberof staff we met were lovely,cheery and very welcoming.A specialmention for Megan(with the blonde hair) who was our server in the resteraunt both nights,what an absolute gem of a girl,well mannered, knowledgeable of the area and a total asset to the hotel,I really cant speak highly enough of this lovely young lady. We stayed in a garden room which is absolutley perfect if like me you are a smoker. The gardens and surrounding areas are beautiful and very well mantained. The room itself was stunning,spotlessly clean and very spacious with a gigantic bed. We had dinner both nights which was really nice,and the breakfast was lovely,although the contintal was a little limited. We made great use of the pool and leisure facilities,which again is one of the best ive been to in a hotel,immaculate and very well maintained. An all round brilliant hotel,cant wait togo back.

Wonderful hotel in gorgeous surroundings complete with golf and spa and pool. The food was amazing as was the service and care. The hotel is in easy reach, a short bus trip, to Dunfermline, a lovely old Scottish town full of things to see.

Own grounds to be able to walk around. Good spacious rooms with very comfortable beds. Nice menu and food well prepared. Didnt have time to use the leisure facilities but they looked good from a distance

We moved to Keavil House at short notice from a neighbouring hotel that couldn't cope with some basic accessibility requirements for my elderly father. From contacting Keavil by phone, talking through the accessibility options, and coming to have a quick check before booking, the staff were fabulous and very genuinely helpful. We moved and my parents had an executive accessible room that met their needs almost perfectly. All the staff from restaurant reception and cleaning teams were lovely and really helpful. The hotel is a bit tired in some places but the people really make a place, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we were back in the area

Stayed here for 2 nights with my family (2 adults & 2 children) for a short break from Leeds. I could not recommend this place enough, we booked it last minute through booking.com and so glad we did. Really lovely hotel and lovely staff who are very attentive and accommodating. It's such a well kept hotel 10/10 for comfort and cleanliness, Housekeeping do a great job. The gardens on the premises are nice, loads of room for the kids to run about and explore, my two went out for a play after dinner one evening while me and my husband had a drink and then again the next morning after breakfast. The leisure facilities are brilliant too the pool and gym are faultless and the changing rooms are the cleanest I've ever been to. We stayed here to visit Edinburgh it was probably about a 30-40min drive but really doesn't feel like it once on the road it goes very quickly. We will definitely stay here again.

We were looked after from start to finish. Nothing was a problem at all, very friendly staff especially Craig who greeted us when we arrived and told us some great places to visit. Would definitely recommend.

Great hotel, clean and tidy with very spacious well kept rooms. The staff are all very friendly and make the stay a pleasure. We even brought in our own freshly caught lobsters, and the chef Paul did an amazing job preparing them for us ! Would highly recommend not only the hotel but especially the restaurant ! Roof works going on at 8am, no extras in room that were pre paid for, in room 36 (executive double lol) next to the boilers/laundry. No sleep was had due to the noise. No bar snacks/meals. It's up for sale and the service is truly awful.

The hotel was fine with good facilities. However our trip was spoiled due to poor housekeeping in our executive room. We were completely missed after our 1st day. We complained and reception stated we would be prioritised next day. All they did was refill tea bags/ milk and replace 2 towels we had left on the floor. Used glasses were not removed. Glass surfaces not wiped down. In general the riven floor tiles were grubby and requires scrubbing to remove dirt. The shower hose was covered in mould on the corrugated hose. Breakfast was good and done to order. Facilities good otherwise I would have given this 1* We have used this hotel on countless occasions when visiting Scotland. I will be looking at other accommodation in future as standards have definitely dropped

We stayed as a family with 2 teenage boys and had two connecting room. Lovely pool and spa, nice breakfast and dinner. Nice location to explore Edinburgh and surrounding areas. We also went to Stirling and St Andrews.

We had a lovely stop over at this hotel. Nice rooms, spacious and clean. The pool was great, staff very helpful and the kids had a blast whilst I relaxed in the hot tub. Wad very busy at breakfast time.

We spent 4 nights at Keavil House Hotel in July 2021 as a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids age 10,7 & 2). We had a large family room which was lovely if a wee bit hot. Weather was unusually warm so a fan was requested and supplied. All hotel and spa staff members were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent and made to order. We also ate 2 evening meals at the hotel which were also excellent. Kids menu available or half portions of main menu also available which our biggest 2 preferred. I don't normally do reviews but this hotel is a hidden gem! Hotel, grounds (which are beautiful and so well tended) and leisure facilities are fantastic. The staff and service provided are some of the best we have experienced anywhere and we are far travelled! Breakfast was amazing and being able to sit outside on the lovely balcony looking over the grounds was brilliant! We had dinner a couple of nights in the hotel too and the food was lovely and reasonably priced which was a bonus. I note most of the reviews are excellent but there are a couple of negative ones which I truly can't understand. If you are considering this hotel, book it! We can't wait to return.

Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. Good sized rooms and competent staff. Swimming pool and facilities were fab. If you are having a family room in summer, I'd pack a fan - the heat is almost unbearable! If your kids are fussy sleepers, the sofa bed is most uncomfortable and the fold out beds are no better. There were no facilities for supper and the fruit bowl was nothing like the one in the picture - not worth £10! The restaurant was ok, but do specify that you want the kids meals to be served with the veg or beans, I didn't and the waitress didn't check if we wanted them, so they were served without! Theres a lovely walk through the grounds to a play park and the set up of the family rooms would be great in cooler weather if they sort out the painful mattresses! As a family, I was a bit disappointed with it being a 4 star, I can't fault the staff though, they were fab, particularly the suited gentleman in the restaurant!

Stayed here for 3 nights with my wife & 2 grandchildren. All of the staff were superb, friendly, helpful & very polite even with the additional burden of COVID. Everywhere was very clean & our room was excellent. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice of both hot & cold food and once again it was obvious that the staff were working very hard to provide great service. We booked and used the swimming pool each day where again the staff were fantastic. The organisation throughout the hotel was very good and we'll definitely be returning. Beds, rooms and spas are ok. Bizarre experience with staff though. Some kind and service-orientated. The others are completely uninterested, cold, borderline rude and you get the impression that they just barely "tolerate" you bothering them, even if you're ordering something. Bizarre, to say the least.

Stayed on business and was impressed with the hotel. Room wasn't biggest, but it had a door that lead out onto the gardens. Room was a little dated, but clean. The restaurant is really rather good. Reasonable choice and very good prices. Definitely four star quality. All staff encountered were excellent. An issue with disruptive neighbours was dealt with as well as could have been. Can't blame the hotel for scumbag guests who treat it like a Butlins caravan park. The grounds were very well kept and plenty of space to walk around in. Car parking was free and plentiful although everyone always rammed the closest one when the other was empty.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights as a family. We have a 1 year old and an 11 year old. When we arrived on our first night the room we were given did not have a sofa bed or a cot for our children to sleep in. However once we informed reception the lady on and the male manager were more than happy to help. We were upgraded to a fantastic room. The manager and waiting staff were all very helpful, hard working friendly, and great with my 1 year old. The food was amazing!! Great kids menu on offer Swimming pool was very clean and our kids had an great time! I could not recommend this hotel enough!! Will definitely be back!!

No air con in 4 stars hotel. They advertise the hotel as a hotel with swimming pool but the pool is situated in health centre next to the hotel. It's accessible in certain hours. Really short menu and no kids menu in family friendly hotel. Staff friendly and helpful but they are unable to remember the orders they take.

Had a lovely weekend stay here. Quiet and relaxing. Out the way enough to make it a relaxing weekend or 10 mins in the car to the town. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was amazing, not disappointed at all. Leisure facilities a bonus, lots of availability for the pool, prioritising Hotel guests. Can book a room with doors to the garden which is great on a nice day. Would stay here again. Only thing I can highlight and I'm picking at things here is the breakfast times on a weekend, only served until 09.30am, come away to have a lie in and need to be up on time to get breakfast.

we stayed here to go to a local wedding. The location was idea and down a long lane, so very quiet. The welcome on arrival was friendly and we were told about the Covid 19 restrictions and what we needed to do - wear masks, no alcohol inside but we could sit on the terrace. Our room had been sealed after being deep cleaned and everything was Covid secure. There was no room service during our stay - so beds weren't made but it really wasn't a problem. If we needed towels or anything else for that matter, then we asked and they were left outside our room. Had to pre book the use of the pool, temperature taken on entry and restricted numbers in using the hot tub, sauna and steam room, but it was no bother at all. Breakfast was delicious. We ate in the hotel one night - food was fabulous - the haggis bon bons were a hit with me

A wee treat for hubby's birthday. Hotel sits in a lovely spot, only 10 minutes from centre of Dunfermline and very handy for the Fife Coastal Trail and Edinburgh. Enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurant which overlooks the mature garden.

We made use of the fantastic offer that was on for my stepdads 60th birthday. My husband and I had a lovely big room that was so warm on arrival on such a miserable day. Unfortunately my mum and stepdad weren't so lucky as their room was cold due to a faulty radiator but they soon got moved to another room. The leisure facilities were great and we made full use of them during our stay. David who was our waiter for our evening meal was fantastic, he couldn't do enough for us. Food was good and breakfast was good and plentiful too. I would definitely return for a short break even though it's only about 15 minutes away from us but it was nice to get a wee break during these difficult times

I had reviewed this wedding venue very honestly a few weeks ago, giving the hotel a chance to step up and do the right thing after the theft of our wedding gifts and to refund the credit on our account, the review pointed out the good and bad points has mysteriously disappeared! Since our wedding over 5 weeks ago, we are still awaiting the refund of £384, confirmed by hotel email on 1st of October (before the wedding) and again on the 16th of October, (after the wedding). However they have decided on 12/11/20 That it's a smaller amount due back to us! Nothing extra was added to the wedding, in fact one table did not receive the drinks that we were charged for as part of the package! Time and time again our calls and emails are ignored. Legal action will now be pursued. AVIOD this venue.

We stayed at Keavil House from 13-15 November to attend our son's wedding at a nearby venue. We stayed in an executive room which was very comfortable. It was warm and the bed very comfortable. The reception staff were friendly and helpful as were the restaurant staff. Safety procedures to keep guests safe were clearly laid out and we felt safe whilst there. Our evening meal was good and the breakfasts thoroughly enjoyable. I would recommend the hotel to anyone. We didn't use the leisure facilities but they looked good

Just back from two night stay, felt very safe at hotel, everything in place to deal with our current situation. Lovely quiet location, very comfy bed, lovely room, swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna open to book your slot. All staff pleasant and helpful, had both breakfast (served to your table) and dinner, all was very good. Had lovely weekend - thank you to everyone at Keavil House

This hotel was just what we needed after an eight hour car journey. I have described it as a 'hidden gem' because despite entering the post code into my satnav we were directed to a very pleasant hillside about 1/2 miles from the hotel. However once we arrived the welcoming could not have been better. everything worked and the cleanliness was exceptional. The bed was very comfy and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Overall a memorable experience.

Very pleasant staff and everything else fine. I want to be more positive but there was nothing about the space to give it the wow factor. Perhaps nice if they made more of the history as the building is very old. Room (28) was not bad but nothing special. Breakfast was average but they were very accommodating and kind about food intolerances. Good as a stop over but perhaps not as a destination. The pool swim was a highlight.

had an absolutely delightful time at the keavil house hotel, food was excellent, my wife and i both had the goats cheese starter which was fabby! the deserts were incredible, the cheese board and the sticky toffee pudding omg!! service in the restaurant was A1, all staff we met were fantastic particularly as we were served by a lovely girl (Niahm i believe was her name) who was so very helpful and funny as well, she went out of her way to give us a relaxing and enjoyable stay which was greatly appreciated!! reception staff were all absolutely lovely as well and the older man who served us our breakfast was great! the leisure facilities were very nice, we had to book a slot to go in which was fine. COVID 19 procedures were in place such as hand sanitizer and a one way system which was nice and reassuring! the room was fantastic, spotlessly clean however the paper cups were not favourable for hot drinks.

We had opted for the inclusive package which was a very good deal. However COVID-19 stopped our plans, we contacted the hotel regarding a change of date. We had to continually chase them up, our emails & telephone messages were often ignored, this was the case until a few days before the wedding. Finally everything was organised and our account was almost £400 in credit due to the now smaller wedding. We asked for this credit to be used for extra drinks for our guests. The day of the wedding went perfectly, the room was beautiful as was the garden for photos. The meal was delicious and service was great! We had a absolutely fantastic day. On leaving the Mountbatten suite at the end of the evening 2 separate members of staff were asked if it was ok to leave our wedding gifts (a gift hamper full of wedding related items & a voucher for a local restaurant) in the suite and both said yes as the room would be locked. The next morning as we went to collect our gifts and other bits and pieces we were heartbroken when we discovered the gifts had been stolen!! The hotel apologised and contacted the police. The hotel is saying they are not liable for the gifts in any way. Further to this utterly horrible incident we found out that none of our guests received any free drinks from the bar service, in fact one table didn't even get the wine that came with the included drinks package. One of the managers response to the query over the drinks was unprofessional. The General manager has been courteous and by email on the 16/10/20 stated that they are not liable for the theft and confirmed the credit and that we will receive this shortly. We are still awaiting this refund 1/11/20. We had paid in advance for our wedding. We also paid for 10 bedrooms in total. Our guests also spent quite a bit at the bar. So all in all we brought a fair bit of revenue to this Hotel. Huge lack of customer care and service.

The rooms are very tired. I failed to have an adequate shower because the water pressure was so low (i don't believe it was limescale...). Service was very friendly and there are COVID challenges that the hotel are attempting to deal with which is understandable. However, they seem to have overcompensated by keeping staff levels too low. I couldn't get hold of a receptionist to convey my issues. In short, the staff are great (when you can get hold of them), the location is good and the leisure facility is a saving grace for this hotel - the rooms and facilities are very tired.

9 day booking as a "bolthole" escape from a stressful family illness situation at my parents house round the corner nearby. So it wasn't really a holiday "break" as such. Don't remember all the staff names ( although David, Audrey & Nieve spring to mind) but ALL the staff were fantastic in reception, bar/restaurant area and in the fitness centre - friendly, sympathetic & understanding throughout our stay. Given current circumstances, their demeanour and atttitude were a big help. Current Covid procedures &| protocols all strictly observed in all areas of the hotel and fitness centre. Our room was excellent - super clean and comfortable. Agree with a previous poster on one small issue - a couple of proper cups and glasses might be better than the disposable cardboard ones in the room. Apart from being better for dealing with hot drinks from a guest perspective, it would reflect better on the hotel's environmental reputation as well. That's a small point overall thouth because as my review title suggests, I've paid more for less in terms of facilites, staff and meals than this before. Can't emphasise enough just how the friendliness of the staff was what made the whole stay worthwhile. Would thoroughlyo recommend and thanks again.

Very nice friendly staff .Room a good size .Appreciate bath robes and slippers. Would have preferred a cup or mug rather than a paper cup.A bit dangerous for boiling hot tea .Need to ensure reception have a better supply of towels . All in all a lovely good value weekend .

Just spent 3 nights at this hotel & it was amazing. From the moment we entered the reception area the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The restaurant was lovely, both breakfast & dinner delicious. Rooms were ok, nothing special, clean & tidy. The cleaning staff were great too, even tho they have a very difficult job at the moment. Would highly recommend.

Stayed on Saturday 17th Oct, was originally meant to be here in June but got cancelled due to lockdown,anyway really glad we rebooked,staff are excellent,reception very well mannered and helpful lady and the 2 duty managers for dinner on the Saturday plus breakfast on the Sunday are really good and attentive,nothing too much trouble and took time to explain all the new rules for covid...even the "youngsters" doing the serving were extremely pleasant ,the food though,evening meal was delicious but breakfast the next morning....one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had,plenty of it ,piping hot and really tasty,couldn't fault anything...oh and our room 107,excellent size,very comfy bed and faultlessly clean,wouldn't hesitate to recommend...keep up the good work in these trying times,well done to all

Stayed for 2 nights, nice clean rooms, very friendly staff nothing was too much trouble. You get served all food and drink due to Covid which is great. Rooms all sanitised. Spa was fine some restrictions due to Covid.

After a lovely day in Dunfermline bowling and adventure golfing we decided to spend the night here so the children could enjoy their first swim since lockdown.We arrived and were greeted by Audrey at reception who was just a delight.She could not have been more helpful and nothing was a problem to her.We managed to book 3 separate slots for swimming during our stay and loved every second of them.The gentleman at the health club was also lovely after signing in we got our temperatures taken each visit and he carefully explained all we needed to know.Breakfast was another highlight one of the waiters (didnt get his name very tall man with fife sense of humour as he put it )who had spoken to us in passing on a few occasions really made the experience for us as well as the amazing food of course. The room was also perfect.Clean towels were brought to our room on request as we needed to use them at the pool.It really was a perfect stay the grounds are also beautiful, we had the best time and will definitely return .The staff really make this place the beautiful hotel that it is.I hope they are appreciated. Well done and thank you to them all. See you soon.

We stayed on order to spend time with our friends due to lockdown restrictions. The hotel is so friendly. Our room was large and comfortable. The bar is pleasant. The restaurant is decent with views over a lovely garden. Highly recommend staying.

Stayed here for a night with my girlfriend and couldn't fault this place. The room was warm and comfortable and very clean, the staff were very friendly and food in the restaurant was delicious. Before traveling back home following day we used the swimming pool and steam room and will definitely return again.

On behalf of my newly beautiful wife and I we were blessed to be married at this 10 star venue on 1st September 2020. Due to Scottish Goverment Covid 19 regulations we planned to get married outside in our back garden with just my Wife and I and my wife's 2 sons,however as Lockdown relaxed and the rules were ever changing on a daily basis it grew arms and legs as the Scottish Goverment allowed guests up to a maximum of 20 people excluding the Celebrant. With just 4 days to go faced with marrying my beautiful wife in her back garden i I thought this is NO wedding ? I called many hotels and venues for advice then i was blessed from heaven to call Best Western Keavil House Crossford Dunfermline,honest to God really blessed ! This man is like SO awesome please give this beautiful man a Knighthood !! AS for Chef wow ! wow ! wow ! wow ! Gordon Ramsay go eat dog food lol and both beautiful night porters my Wife and I LOVE YOU !! AS for the venue thee beautiful peaceful and ultra romantic setting with perfectly manicured settings OUTSTANDING !!! AS for the room anywhere and everywhere in this Luxurious hotel spotlessly clean and Covid rules everywhere as it should be. The honeymoon suite was sublime ! Totally Awesome and how on earth could the beautiful staff at Keavil House with only 4 days notice managed to pull off my beautiful wife's and I every desire DEFIES BELIEF !!! My only regret my Wife and I can only award 5 stars. If you want a fairy tail Wedding or thee most romantic break in your lives please please BOOK NOW !!

Warm welcome from reception staff and other members of the staff. Clean and comfortable room. Breakfast served on a hot plate with freshly prepared tasty food. Evening meal as good as the breakfast. Swimming pool and spa worth a visit. Location quite and relaxing. Plenty of parking spaces.

We stayed for 1 night as we took outlet first short break since Lockdown. Chose this hotel as we know it and have enjoyed previous stays. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and was impressed with all the procedures in place. The restaurant was top notch and staff pleasant and helpful. We lived that we could use the pool. It was clean and quiet and thoroughly enjoyable.

Stayed two nights and enjoyed wonderful food and very helpful , friendly and cheerful staff. The hotel is well secluded in its own grounds in Crossford just over two miles from the centre of Dunfermline. an excellent location from which to visit local attractions. We will be going back again.

Room was immaculate, the parts of the hotel we saw were very clean and tidy. Staff friendly. Only downfall we had was we left before getting any breakfast as nobody came to take our order and couldn't get the attention of staff, shame as it would have been a perfect stay otherwise.

I made a last minute reservation for a night away with my young daughter. I didn't request an accessible room even though I use a crutch as I can manage stairs. I merely asked how many stairs there were to our room and the member of staff told me rather accusatory that there was nothing in my booking about my crutch and then told me I would manage. I almost laughed at her attitude. I'm 46 and look after my appearance so don't ‘look' disabled in some peoples eyes and while I can deal with people staring I have never had someone treat me the way this member of staff did. I married in the hotel 6 years before and my husband and I would book in for our anniversary every year but I don't think I'll be back now after that. I put on a brave face for my little girl but I felt like I was an inconvenience when all I asked was how many stairs are there.

We stayed at the keavil house hotel for our son and his partners graduation celebration dinner. The staff were very attentive even although they were dealing with quite a few people in the restaurant that evening. Overall stay was excellent and would highly recommend this hotel .lovely location

This hotel is led by a management team who are hands on and lead by example. They create an atmosphere of friendly, welcoming and considered customer service whilst still being professional, polite and efficient. As return visitors we noticed some necessary changes due to the Covid situation, however they did not detract from our enjoyment of a 4 night break for my friend and myself. The changes added to our sense of safety. Despite being reduced in staff and capacity we were able to enjoy the grounds and gardens, the breakfast and dinner service and fare and the housekeeping standards. These staff members work really hard to make sure their visitors are well considered. The kitchen produced a more limited menu, but everything was good quality, delicious and well presented.

We had a wonderful dinner here, the staff were so attentive and friendly! we were seated and served by a lovely young girl who looked after us very well despite the restaurant being quite busy for a Monday night. We also received a great deal on our meal with the Eat Out To Help Out scheme. would definitely recommend a visit here, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is perfect. My only gripe would be a slightly slow service but the manager explained that they were overbooked so the kitchen was very busy. Overall it was a fantastic night and we will most definitely be back!

we have been desperately waiting for the hotel to open so that we had somewhere safe to stay. Life has changed and things are different but the staff are as amazing as ever, so friendly and helpful while being professional. The room was spotless, we had no worries about anything. they are doing their best to keep guests safely separated without creating a prison. We were joined by friends one evening for dinner and they were very impressed. we had dinner on 3 evenings, haggis and venison casserole topped with clapshot which was tremendous. chicken breast stuffed with haggis on another which is superb and I had steak which was beautiful. My husband had the burger and pronounced it delicious. Twice he had the strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake, while i had the bramble and fragipane tart ( once, but it was scottish without overdoing it and was really nice). Breakfast was good, the buffet couldn`t happen, but my husband rave about the blackpudding!

Hotel is extremely tired looking, over priced for what you get. Locked out the hotel in the evening, nobody around in the morning to speak to, no breakfast served. No water in the room. The room was extremely dark and depressing. If this is the best western I'd hate to see the worst.

The hotel staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating during my short notice stay, especially during Corvid 19 and made sure that every precaution was taken to ensure a safe stay. Although the hotel was still on reduced staff the services and food were both excellent and I would highly recommend staying here.

We chose the hotel because it carried the "We're good to go" accreditation in connection with COVID-19. We always felt safe as it was clear that staff were rigorously following the new guidelines. What was different from normal? Changed check-in/check-out procedures, face masks to be worn in all public areas, restricted menus, hand sanitiser available at several locations, spa and health club closed, more regular cleaning, limited staff numbers. Everything took a little longer than usual but this was perfectly acceptable in the circumstances. All the staff worked really hard and did their best to offer as good a quality of service as possible while still working within the guidelines.

Stayed here for one night as our first night away once hotels opened again. The hotel looks nice and the man at reception was very friendly. We had treated ourselves to a room with a four poster bed and thought it would be quite fancy for the price. The room was up 2 flights of stairs and at the back of the hotel. The room was large but looked very tired, the carpet had stains on it and it just felt like it needed a revamp. Cobwebs on the ceiling in the corner of room. The milk in the room was off so had to go down to get some more. Bed was comfy though. Shower was hit and miss. Water pressure very poor while using it then all of a sudden after 5 mins the pressure came through very strong. Telly on the wall was quite small as was a long way from the bed so hard to watch. Just felt for £110 a night it was not really good value for money especially when breakfast wasn't included in that.

Stayed here as Key Workers very recently. Very quiet location.At present not all facilities available but Mike did his best to make us welcome and comfortable. decent chip shop and Co-Op within walking distance. Mike provided a decent take away breakfast. Much appreciated.

Just had our 4 th visit here. The staff are all really helpful and friendly. The food is excellent and you better have a big appetite if ordering full English breakfast! The spa facilities are great. There are lots of interesting places to visit around the area and Dunfermline is only a few miles away. Looking forward to our next visit.

I booked a voucher for the hotel which clearly states that the voucher is valid mon, thursday, friday and sunday. I phoned up and the hotel could only book us is for monday or thursday which is no use for anybody who might work! When i phoned up and didnt mention the voucher it was not a problem but as soon as you mentioned the voucher they could not facilitate it. Craig the manager then phoned back and told me in a condescending manager that i “had been sitting on the voucher”! Very very poor customer service and discriminating against people that have bought a voucher. Myself friends and family will not use this hotel or the voucher company again. 1 star

Visited the Keavil recently, having got a spa/ meal voucher as a present. Stunning location.. Although the restaurant was pretty busy we still got seated/ served pretty quickly, and opted for the carvery buffet lunch (which was regularly filled up). Food was excellent and the service was friendly. Leisure facilities were great as well, just absolutely packed unfortunatley, with it being a Sunday. Would return!

Having stayed here before for a birthday celebration we had no hesitation in booking again for my wife's birthday. We received excellent service from all the staff we had contact with especially in the bar and dining area. Food was top quality and the little tweaks we asked for in the evening and at breakfast were happily met. The leisure facilities are superb and worth a visit. We will definitely be staying at keavil house again.

Myself and my partner got a last minute Groupon deal to get away after a hectic Christmas and New Year. Location - Lovely location and would have explored more if the weather had been better. Crossford is a sweet place and surrounding area is also lovely. Room - Disappointed. We had a plug in heater that was difficult to use to get a good temperature as it was dry and roasting when turned on and then grew cold quickly when turned off. The furniture was a bit dated and it all felt a bit grubby unfortunately. The bathroom was alright although rather unpleasantly when using the bath noticed buildup of dirt around the taps and shower buttons. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable though and there was a really great selection of tea/coffee and super nice biscuits. (we would have brought this up had it not been a discount deal) Food - The food was good standard and the haggis was particularly nice! No fish left on first night and as pescatarian had limited other options on the menu other than mac and cheese which was lovely. When I managed to get some fish it was really soggy which was a shame. Breakfast cold selection was great yoghurts, fruit juices, overnight oats and the hot options very varied and really liked being able to build your own breakfast. Veggie sausages 0/10. Service - Reception check in was incredibly quick only asked for my name then given room key. Service in resturaunt - Breakfast staff on the ball and very nice and friendly. Evening service unfortnately shocking on both evenings. The first night we waited nearly an hour to have our food served and watched and heard apologies at various other tables that had been waiting for far longer for food and drinks. We asked for our bill at 9.30, and I asked the waitress whether we had to book a table for breakfast or just walk in, and whether we had to pay for additional costs not included in our deal now or at the end of our stay. She didn't know the answer to these questions so went away to find out. She came back about 5 minutes later asking if we were DBB (at the time confusing as not used to terminology) and when we asked what this was she said as we didn't know her manager would be over to speak to us. We then waitied as the waitress as she served other tables around us, and no sign of manager. After twenty minutes of not being able to get anyones attention, we had to go up to the manager ourselves and he apologised for keeping us waiting, explaining he had been very busy. We could actually see him the entire time and he had more than enough time to pop over to our table. He actually blamed staff when I complained about how difficult it had been to just pay our bill. The second night we hoped the service would be better. My partner ordered soup, noted as served with focaccia. No focaccia arrived and she asked for some bread. The waitress said she would go and find out if she could have some bread and then simply never returned. However everything was served nice and quickly. Facilities - In another building which was no issue, quite busy as open to the ublic which we hadn't realised but enjoyed opton of a swim steam/ sauna. Bar - Cracking selection of whiskeys.

Wee arrived on the 29 th February was given a free upgrade which was great , the pool facility,s were in another building which was fine although snowing , everything there was good , went down for our meal place was very quiet 8 in total in restaurant the wait after ordering was fine having finished our main course the wait to have table cleared was ridiculous , waitresses passed our table many times without any effort to clear , took about 20 minutes to clear table , after ordering our sweat I had to go to restaurant desk after 25 minutes and ask when wee would have this it arrived within a minute and it was disgusting looked as though it had been lying out for some time the custard had set on the plates into a hard Edge wee didn't attempt to eat this and just left apart from this the main course was delicious

Nice hotel. The rooms are pretty big, staff are good. Very reasonable for the price. Lovely dining area with a view over the garden. You can park for free in a nearby town and take the train into Edinburgh.

Really enjoyed our one night stay. There was a wedding on and also a bus tour staying but we heard no noise at all. We were checked in and out by a lovely, friendly receptionist. The food both at breakfast and dinner was lovely. Only thing was we didn't get exactly what we ordered at dinner. 2 of us ordred fish, chips and mushy peas but got salad instead of mushy peas. My grandson ordered sausage and mash but got sausage and chips. Every member of staff we encountered during our stay was friendly and helpful. The service we received was outstanding. Our room was spacious with a very well stocked tea tray, complimentary bottles of sparkling and still water and there was an excellent range of toileteries in the immaculate bathroom. The carpet in the bathroom was quite stained though. I would definitely book this hotel again without hesitation. Only thing was, the hotel, including our room was too warm for us and that did affect the quality of our sleep. Overall though a good stay in a lovely welcoming hotel which was spotlessly clean.

Brilliant place to go if u just want peace and quiet, theres no noise etc in the middle of no where . The pool, sauna and steam room is so relaxing. Dinner and breakfast was amazing. Staff very polite and cant do enough to help .Been here twice and both times loved it

We had to go north to visit a sick relative, despite the hotel being busy for Valentine`s day we had a lovely room and fabulous service. Our super kingsize room overlooked the gardens, was spotlessly clean and we found a carpark we hadn`t used before! There was a singer in the Bar on the Friday who was really good and worked a very mixed crowd of all ages, he had us all singing and serenading a newly married couple, as well as 2 birthdays. Great fun! other quieter spaces are available!

Upon entering here we were given a warm welcome and told we were given a wee upgrade on our room. Going into the room we discovered this wasn't BS as we had a corner room which contained a little lounge area. We almost straight away went across to the leisure facilities to see how they were. A sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and a pool. Seem pretty basic but they were very nice additives. After going out for tea and then another quick late-night swim, a comfy bed in a clean room made for a good nights sleep. Breakfast the next morning was okay. I would only call it okay because i regret not ordering a warm breakfast and my girlfriends porridge wasn't even lukewarm, it was just cold. We also found that the shower liked to play games by changing its own temperature slightly which was a little irritating. Upon checking out we mentioned that the people in the room above us were a bit noisy in the morning but this wasn't the hotels fault of course but receptionist apologised for this and said her farewells. I would definitely recommend here over anywhere else in/around Dunfermline and will hopefully be returning one day.

We had an absolutely beautiful stay here. The room was spotlessly clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable. There was complementary bath robes, towels, tea/coffee, biscuits, body lotion and vanity sets. We used the spa which was spotless. You get complementary towels and robes and no need for money for the lockers. There was a decent sized pool, a relaxation area with sun loungers, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The restaurant was beautifully done out, extremely clean and the waiter and waitresses were very pleasant and helpful. The food though.. wow!! Best steak I've had. Very well priced. The presentation was excellent and the food was full of flavour. The breakfast was a buffet of fruit, cereal, toast, pastries, cheese and meat. Lots to choose from. Then you get to order hot food. We had the full English which again was cooked to perfection. The chef knows his stuff. The views from our room and the restaurant were so beautiful and peaceful. Lovely grounds the house is on. We will definitely return here. Could not fault the house or service in the slightest. Oh reception has beautiful flavoured water each day which I loved also. Highly recommend

Your classic leisure club, hotel and restaurant, stayed for one night, lovely big room however did pay the extra £30 for this. Leisure facilities were good, hotel was clean and tidy, food was tasty. Overall good stay!

Stayed here on 2 other occasions and highly recommended it however on this recent visit just felt a bit let down. We only stayed 1 night and was through a wowcher deal hence why I never made a complaint but would not have liked to have paid full price. I doubt we will go back

I'm surprised to see so many good reviews... we were in the restraunt this evening and firstly something was missed from our order, the food was nice but it took 15 mins after our food for someone to clear our table, when they did they asked if we would like a dessert menu, we said yes and waited another 15mins on someone bringing it back... they never, so we asked for the bill after we had reminded them of our £30 voucher. It took 20 mins for the bill to arrive and the voucher hadnt been taken off and they have the cheek to add a service charge! After asking them to get us a new bill we waited a further 15mins. No one looked like they were doing anything about our bill so we asked them if they actually wanted us to pay for our food? Eventually they sorted it out. During this time we heard another couple complain that they hadnt even had thier order taken and they had been waiting half an hour, a gentleman have to ask twice if they could order some drinks, watched two woman stand clulesslely when they arrived as they weren't shown to a table and watched a woman send back her dessert as they had brought the wrong one, which she waited about 20minutes to receive in the first place. On our way out we heard a waiter asking the waitress where the order for till no 5 was, she pointed to the desk and said it's there, then said aw yeah ive forgotten to put it through... Good luck table no 5, you're probably still waiting. Wont be back!

Again my husband and I was staying at the Keavil last weekend for our anniversary for two night's again we had a great time staff are fantastic and work really hard. Audrey at the reception was lovely as ever and so helpful and we got upgraded which was lovely the food is great as ever we can't fault this hotel every time we go we always have a lovely time and we will come back thanks again for a great stay Maria.

Lovely day at Keavil using our Groupon voucher. Enjoyed the pool with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Lunch was superb service was friendly yet very efficient, the food lovely and the ambiance very nice.. Top marks to the staff and we will be looking out for more deals as this was a lovely way to spend our day off

Stayed here with their groupon deal which was brilliant value. Hotel itself is set in beautiful grounds and is well done up throughout. The staff are excellent all very friendly and attentive. Food is really tasty and good range on offer. Really enjoyed the health suite pool and sauna really good. Only issues were relating to cleanliness in bedroom. A few surfaces were sticky, whereas others were dusty. In the bathroom there was someone else's used razor in the rack in shower where keep shampoo which was really off putting. Personal taste for hygiene reasons I dislike shower curtains and no hook to hang hand towel which is a bit annoying and no toilet brush. Overall bathroom could do with some modernisation. The bed however was brilliant really big and comfy. Really enjoyed stayed just a shame a few issues in bedroom.

Can't find anything to fault this hotel for, I booked it as overnight for me and my wife a and she loved it. The hotel and it's surroundings are beautiful, the staff couldn't be more helpful. The food was cracking, it was a Groupon deal I booked so it was a smaller menu to choose from but it is the same quality and portion sizes as anyone else would get. I will be recommending this place to family and friends, if you are considering coming here, you won't be disappointed if you do. P.S. You also get access to the pool and spa so remember your swimming outfit's

We throroughly enjoyed our stay at Keavil House Hotel. It was clean and comfortable, the restaurant was lovely, the swimming pool great, afternoon tea was exceptional! All of this being said, the hotels greatest asset was their staff! All of the staff were really friendly and helpful but a special mention to Audrey in Reception who was so genuinely lovely and gave an amazing first impression and David who was the Manager during our stay. He was really patient and professional but his humour and attentiveness really made him stand out! Myself and my daughter cannot wait to return.

Once again we are returning home after staying for four nights at Keavil House . This was out eleventh Hogmanay stay and , once again, the standards of service, food and comfort were excellent. The staff here work together as a team to make sure that guests are well looked after, with care taken to meet dietary requirements with a good choice of food. Food is high quality and portions are generous. The rooms are quiet and comfortable with a choice of pillows available. Will we stay there again ? Of course ... already booked in for next December and again for another stay this Spring because nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff.

We've have just returned from a New Years break at this hotel and you could tell from the minute you arrived at reception through to the staff and management team who catered for your every need that we were going to have a great stay. It would be unfair to pick out from the staff or management team any individual as they worked so well together as a team and this showed in how they treated you to insure that your stay was relaxing & comfortable. Their customer service was of the highest standard whether in the bar area , breakfast room or dining room service was always with a smile & they took the time to ask how your stay was going and if they could enhance this in anyway to make your stay more enjoyable. The breakfast was of a buffet style that did cater for all individual needs with a good selection to choose from the main dining was also of a good choice of selection and quality being presented and cooked well. The rooms were comfortable and in reasonable decor if I was to be picky then the one thing I would change is the pillows which were not very comfortable but their again I didn't mention this which was my fault as I am sure taking into the level of service I received that they most probably would have looked into what could have been done to rectify this. They also have a very nice leisure centre with a lovely pool area and gym and shower and changing area which they provide towels & lockers all areas of the hotel & leisure centre are very clean and well maintained. I would happily stay here again and would recommend Keavil House Hotel to friends & family well done to all the team you can tell that you all get on so well and work so hard as a team which reflects on how well you look after your customers if Best Western Hotel run a team of the year award then from my personal experience you deserve to win it .

Hotel was very good / very clean and staff were all friendly and helpful. Only problem was with the Dessert we received, which was not great at all. Was meant to be warm but was cold and the crumble was really soggy and tasted like it was not cooked very well. We did say to the waiter - is only a minor complaint as eveything else was really good.

Unseasoned soup.very poor Scottish seafood selection.cold turkey,gammon and beef.cold veg,hard Yorkshire puddings.watery gravy.not enough serving spoons around desserts.no utensils at the cheese board to cut cheese or serve chutney. No table service from bar. Inexperienced waiting staff.Extremely disappointed with the whole experience. Not what we expected from a 4star hotel.

We came to Keavil for a two night break away post Christmas and to relax before the New Year celebrations. Fantastic time, great room and staff are very friendly. Food also impressed as both of us are gluten free and from the start it was clear what was and was not okay for us to have - lots of options and I had pate with gluten free toast both nights! Avoid the Malbec though... go for the El Nino as it really hit the mark! On second night David front of house (customer service 100%) and Dylan (chef who cooked us gluten free battered fish and chips) stood out. Mike also top class. So refreshing to find a chef who was a proper chef and willing to go above and beyond and delivered a first class fish and chips for both of us. Really great. Guinness also served perfectly by Dylan (different bar Dylan) and reception (Claire) couldn't have been more helpful overall and particularly when we wanted to head into Dunfermline for music and a few drinks on the Saturday night. All in all great value, great customer service, great food and ready to face the new year celebrations next!

1st of all on a positive note, the resteraunt/tables are decorated lovely, thinking of everything from crackers, party poppers, tree, santa for kids, children's entertainer, not too loud and not so quiet you can hear a pin drop and scared to make a sound. The best place i been to that captures christmas . Where it is a let down is the food sadly and for just under 200 pound for 3 adults expected more. Food not inedible but food luke warm, cold and all had at different tempatures, soups pretty standard , had to use same utensils for different things, so tongs covered in salmon had to be used to pick up prawns, if i wanted my prawns to taste of Salmon i would just stick to Salmon, cake slices for chocolate yule log etc had to be used for cheese cake as not enough out for every item. No bacon round sausages, gravy like water, realise everybody has different standards and opinions but considering they do same menu on xmas eve and boxing day for half the price, maybe stick to that Maybe sit down service would of been better, not sure but be hesitant to go back.

Very disappointed with Christmas lunch yesterday. The turkey was dry and the vegetables were tasteless and luke warm at best. For a starter I had the smallest prawns that I have seen and swimming in water with a piece of salmon that was very bland.No table service for drinks order, and had to ask staff on a number of occasions to clear clutter and used plates from table. Not the type of service I would expect from a hotel of this quality and for the price I paid.

We booked for a spontaneous weekend away to the Keavil house and managed to squeeze in a booking the weekend before Christmas via groupon. What a fantastic deal!! We were upgraded to what I believe is an executive room as it was my birthday (thank you so much to staff for arranging this as it made the difference!) I appreciate the gesture coming from a young couple. We were made to feel welcome from all staff at all times from the restaurant, to the spa, to the receptionist! Especially the lady who checked us in and out, I'm not sure her name but she was an older lady with lighter hair, glasses etc. She was really kind so please pass on my compliments to her! Breakfast and dinner included in price which filled us to the brim. Would have been nice to get a few drinks at the 24 hour bar but our bed was far too comfy to deny a good nights sleep! We will definitely be back for the weekend again, excellent value for money and friendly staff :-)

We have recently visited this wonderful hotel for 4 nights , joining my husband who in is on business & has been staying in this hotel for 2 months , this hotel is by far the best hotel myself & my family have visited , I could not pick 1 fault, the staff are absolutely amazing & all take pride in their work, the food is amazing so credit to the chefs , this hotel is too class for hospitality and I carnt praise it enough, Audrey & Claire in reception always have a smile on their face and happy to help with anything , Rachael who is always busy and never seems to be still for a minute i would class as very professional & fantastic at her job, nothing is a problem and always asking if there's anything more they can do for you, those are the names I remember with staff, however every member has been amazing , it's Christmas Eve now and we are set to travel home, I simply needed to express the fanatic stay we have had , both as a family and my husband on his work trip, the hotel is spotless clean with no member of staff ever standing still.. what impressed me the most is how lovely all members have been with my 6 year old son, bringing activity packs to keep him entertained when he gets bored during dinner etc, even remembering his name from me telling them the once, Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay , although it's Xmas and we happy to be travelling home, we are also sad to be leaving . I guarantee we will be back Next year!

Reading the previous reviews makes me wonder was I at the right hotel? On arrival yesterday I got a rotweiller reception! I know I was attending a party night but really I still deserve a warm and smiling welcome. I was made to feel like an inconvenience and there was certainly no aim to please. Rooms are clean and functional. Food at event was fair enough. Back into the hotel after the event and the bar man was not a happy chappy! Definitely not service with a smile! Overall disappointing and it was all down to the staff interaction. What a shame for what is otherwise an ok hotel.

They say a dog is a man's best friend. But I don't even have enemies that would stare directly into my eyes whilst having a poo on my carpet. However, Rex will be missed, and Nicola, from Keavil House Hotel understood this. I was unable to fulfil my stay at this hotel but was refunded. Nicola went above and beyond, and by far the most pleasant customer service experience I've had. If it's a wholly personalised experience you're after with kind, caring staff —- look no further.

There are 4 things that mark this hotel as outstanding. The Staff. Welcoming, friendly, treat us as valued return guests. David in the restaurant, forgave me for calling him Donald in previous feedback. Claire on reception. Mr Doga and all the Duty managers for their dilligance and particular help and chat. The Spa. Pool, staff, all the extras. The Food. Hats off to the Chef for great quality local produce well presented. Value for money. I have visited many hotels for work and pleasure and I would recommend Keavil house to anyone. We are returning in December and then again in Feb/March.

Our daughter treated us to an overnight stay (dinner, B&B) and we had a lovely stay. From the moment we arrived till we left we found all of the staff in all areas to be very friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding, couldn't fault a thing! The leisure centre was very clean and cared for (immaculate) and the guys there also very nice indeed. Highly recommend and will definitely go back. Always enjoy staying at this hotel, staff are very friendly and professional, can't do enough to help you. Food is very good quality and well presented. Only slight niggle is the very small sink in room 35.

As part of my husband's 50th birthday present I booked a night away at Keavil House Hotel. I managed to get an excellent deal for an overnight stay with dinner, bed and breakfast along with full use of the spa facilities. What a fabulous time we had. The room was very large. The tea tray was well stocked and the stock of toiletries was very impressive. There was also robes and complimentary slippers waiting for us in the room. The spa facilities were excellent. Towels were provided free of charge and everything was spotlessly clean. Dinner was outstanding. The food was freshly cooked and piping hot and portion sizes were very impressive. There was a good choice of meals, including vegetarian and vegan options. Breakfast was also very impressive. Great choice of cold food from bircher muesli to fresh fruit to cereal and pastries. The hot food was table service and all I can say is WOW!! I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and can honestly say it's the best veggie breakfast I've ever eaten. The vegetarian sausages were a real winner. Much as I wanted to I could not eat everything on my plate. My husband's breakfast of sausage and bacon was equally impressive. Staff were all fantastic. They were all cheerful, polite and friendly. Absolutely nothing was a problem or too much trouble. This is our second visit here and we will have no hesitation in returning again. A wonderful hidden wee gem. Well worth a visit.

Good points... clean. Great pillows and mattresses. Not so good down to bad are as follows. The fitness centre is not in the hotel but separate. It seems to be a public pool with gym and crèche. I was told by staff in the hotel that it was a private member club.. but when I went there there was no one checking people in. It was definitely a free for all on the Saturday morning I went there. It was full of mums and kids doing swimming lessons ...just like a public pool. About the hotel. I couldn't get a seat in the fitness centre due to it was so full, so I went back to the hotel for an orange juice and a browse of the newspapers. I was told the “bar” was closed until 11am ( this was 10.50am) and they don't have newspapers. This is NOT a hotel. Also no “do not disturb” hangers on the door. The room was cold and told the heating only comes on at 4pm. What? It's meant to be a hotel!! At Reception (after a long wait for someone to staff the desk) another guest was complaining about the lack of heating, I'm not being picky, the bar, newspapers, heating (esp in November) are the kind of thing you expect at this price point. Also in our first floor room the window catch was broken allowing people to jump out. I will NEVER come again. There is a sign saying it is low mobility people are welcome but there is no lift and you have to go down 4 steps between the car park and hotel. This place is a penny pinching excuse for a hotel. We are still here but we are not happy with the disingenuous pitch they put on the website. Remember also that the hotel is located virtually bang within a housing estate!! You can't see this on their website.

My partner and I have just returned home after 4 wonderful nights at this hotel. The room was lovely and spacious with the added extra bonus of a door leading to the gardens from where we enjoyed the company of several young pheasants. Breakfast was splendid with an ample selection of hot and cold to choose from. Evening meals, with 3 courses for less than £30.00 was exceptional value, especially considering the quality and standard of food presented. All the staff were so professional and friendly with nothing too much for them. We also used the pool and sauna facilities which are available free of charge to hotel guests and again we were not disappointed. As for the hotel location, it is conveniently located for visiting Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline Abbey and Dunfermline town centre. The railway station is 10 minutes away with a regular service to Edinburgh, two off-peak returns £6.80 each. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel whether for a quiet breakaway or for commuting to Edinburgh.

I found this place on a voucher website and when I contacted them to check the appropriate date was available I was told that I could book directly and not only would they honour the website price but they would also upgrade the room. I mentioned that the upgrade would make our stay extra special as it was an anniversary treat. On arrival we were greeted warmly, checked in most efficiently and guided tour our room. The room was wonderful! Large, comfortable, immaculate and with every eventuality catered for! There were robes and slippers and even a wee kit with cotton buds and a nail file in! Extra tea and coffee sachets were given willingly and freely and an extra biscuit thrown in for good measure. We had a wonderfully relaxing visit to the spa before a delicious supper and upon returning to our room we found a plate of sweet treats had been left for us with a happy anniversary greeting written in chocolate! A lovely surprise! Every member of staff we encountered smiled, greeted us warmly and treated us with the utmost courtesy and friendliness. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Keavil House Hotel!

We first visited Keavil when we held our wedding reception here 31 years ago and it just gets better and better. We have visited for an overnight stay here 3 times in the last year as we love it. Rooms are immaculate, comfortable and equipped with everything you would need. Extra tea and coffee and toiletries are no problem. Food in the restaurant is first class and very reasonably priced. Reakfast is delicious with a superb choice and served in the bright and roomy conservatory. Staff without exception are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. Altogether first class and worth every penny.

We found the Keavil house online this morning and thought we would give their restaurant a go....and I am so glad we did. Three of us dined tonight. The restaurant opens at 6pm - unsure exactly where we were going we arrived early. The hotel is set back down a winding private drive and has plenty of parking to the front. The restaurant is through the hotel reception and beyond the small lounge bar - don't let this distract you. Arriving early we were met by friendly staff and had pre-dinner drinks whilst we reviewed the menu. Table ready we stepped through the clean and well appointed lounge to a nice modern conservatory restaurant. An attentive young team looked after us and were the icing on the cake. The service was splendidly efficient and the meals most excellent. I had lamb with dauphain potato, my fellow diners had Haddock and Chips and Scottish chicken Parma. Trust me. Dine here. The staff make you feel welcome and the Chefs will satisfy the most fussy pallette with their quality meals.

Very disappointed with hotel menu for Gluten Free special diet when staying for dinner bed and breakfast with friends. I checked when booking and on checking in whether the hotel dining would cater for gluten free diet. 3 different members of staff were definite that their chef would provide a full gluten free menu. They were totally wrong! I was angry when at dinner, we were given the normal menu with numerous ink deletions! There was very little left to see on the menu, no choice or alternative was offered. It was a case of gluten free not available and I was unable to get a three course dinner which had been paid for. I made my complaint on checking out but only told my comment was noted. I would have expected 4 star hotel would have better service.

So this is our 2nd visit to Keavil House we checked in on the 5th and out on the 7th. We previously stayed for our 1st wedding anniversary and had a great time. We called to make a reservation. We got the winter deal, dinner, bed and breakfast. Paid in full. We requested the room with patio doors. Nothing was mentioned that the room we were reserving did not have the patio doors. We then had a telephone call for a further £30.00 to reserve the room we wanted. I was furious and stated so at the time of the telephone call. It was met by an explanation of the staff that were on duty did not know the room grades. I could request the room without paying, but take the risk of losing out. This completely dampened the trip before we even left. Check in was easy. Staff were lovely during our visit. Food was excellent and we were served with the very professional Mags she was lovely. Breakfast is buffet style and has everything you could possibly want for a breakfast regardless of your dietary requirements. I dare say its covered. The bonus of this weekend was there was no weddings on, as it can be noisy as experienced on our previous visit. We are a young couple that work fulltime so when we go away its for rest! We prefer the rooms with the patio doors as there is nothing worse than not being able to sleep. Including it looks out onto a nice garden. Beds are very comfortable also. Rooms are modern and are stocked well with a tea tray and complimentary soaps and shampoo. Nail file saved the day for me this was a plus. Only suggestion would be a fridge however small would make a difference. We used the the facilities whilst there and enjoyed it and found it relaxing. Would we come back? Yes, we had a relaxing stay it just got off to a bad start for us. Everything was flawless during our visit.

We stayed one night in this lovely hotel. The staff were very approachable and friendly. The food was of excellent quality and the service to match. The pool in the leisure centre is a good size. We will definitely return

Excellent stayed over night for a tribute for Mars/ Murs arrived at 1pm just in time for a small refreshment before lunch it was delicious, used the swimming pool and spa it was very relaxing, couldn't fault anything, i definitely recommend to give it a try don't think anybody could be disappointed with this hotel

This was a very comfortable hotel at a great price. Nice large room and good location. My husband enjoyed the use of the pool too. Highly recommend. The beautiful grounds added to the general ambience.

Hubby and I have just returned from this lovely hotel. We arrived Friday afternoon and were quickly booked in at reception. We were allocated room 30 looking out to the gardens. This is a standard room but is more than adequate and the bed was comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom was bath with shower overhead and always hot water. There was also complimentary toiletries which were lovely. Also in the room there is a hospitality tray with kettle, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc and a hairdryer and trouser press. Food was very good and the service was fine. They were very busy and did a good job both nights. Breakfast is buffet style and was equally good. The hotel also has a swimming pool with sauna, steam room, gym etc and we enjoyed our time there. The staff at all levels were really nice and we had a laugh with Mags who's lovely. We would return again to this very nice hotel.

My Husband and I had a lovely stay at the Keavil House, our room was large, modern and absolutely spotless with a fab selection of sundries ie toiletries, shoe polisher etc in our room. We had windows and a door that opened directly on to the lush garden. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful, my husband who loves his cooked breakfasts said that it was probably one of the best breakfasts he had, had in a hotel. What I thought was a nice touch was a member of staff went around every table in the morning to check if everyone was happy with their food if anyone wanted anything else before they cleared the breakfast buffet away. I would highly recommend staying here and it's a great location for golfers or (as we did) do the Outlander trail. Also I have to add I don't know what the other beds were like but the absolute BEST Mattress I've slept on!

Stayed as a group of three for a mini spa style break. Our deal included room, breakfast, dinner, use of facilities, a treatment and Prosecco in our room. We were very impressed with what was included for the price, and with the quality of the evening meal and breakfast. The dauphinois potatoes were cooked to absolute perfection, really all the food couldn't be faulted and far exceeded expectations. Customer service was fantastic, all staff were extremely polite and friendly. Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived so they made us comfortable with some complimentary drinks and tablet, a great example of turning what could have been a negative point into another positive. The jacuzzi, pool etc were clean and relaxing as was the rest of the hotel, and also seemed to be well run with pleasant staff and all the necessary facilities. One last point, after you see the initial sign for the hotel don't worry if you feel you've been driving a while and may have missed a turn, the road between the sign and hotel is just very long!

Very nice beautiful place. I would recommend it for all. I would also suggest and recommend the Breakfast Buffet as it is most excellent and they serve many traditional Scottish breakfast items. The pool was very inviting. The grounds are well maintained and lovely. Overall it is a terrific place to stay while in the area.

All the staff were really efficient, friendly, polite and attentive. We reported a dead light bulb in the bathroom and it was replaced immediately. The food was good and plentiful, and the hot buffet for breakfast was kept well supplied. The bedroom was large, contained 2 easy chairs, and the tea/coffee, biscuits, and cocoa etc were replenished daily. The only disappointment was the shower which did not keep a constant temperature and the pressure was poor. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Good food, a nice room and I used the pool and gym. I had an issue with my toilet overflow which was a slightly annoying during the night, as I could hear the running water, but I did not report this as it was a minor annoyance. I stayed for 4 nights and on 2 occasions walked up to the Adamson hotel which do a really amazing 8oz fillet steak for £22.50 well worth a walk for a change of scenery and cheaper than Keavil. Breakfast at Keavil was interesting as there was at least one coach tour in and this made for a very busy breakfast, everyone descending at the same time although the staff copped. Friendly staff, I enjoyed my stay here.

This hotel is my husband and myself get away for some tlc and we go on a regular basis staff cannot do enough for you and the beds are so comfy we will be back again next month for some more relaxation

6 of us went to celebrate my mother's 85th birthday in August at this lovely hotel. It was one of the most delicious afternoon teas I have ever had. The table was groaning with cakes and sandwiches and the friendly staff made sure there was a constant top up of tea and coffee. We finished the afternoon in the quiet comfortable lounge with a glass of wine where we had the opportunity to have a good family catch up. I definitely recommend this venue for afternoon tea.

This hotel has many nice features but it is definitely not for everyone. I don't think the hotel has a lift. It does have a lovely entrance, friendly staff, clean pleasant bedrooms but no air conditioning. Our room was so hot it was unbearable. Spotless en suite with good towels and pleasant toiletry offered. Beds reasonably comfortable but the pillows were the worst ever. Notice in room to say feather pillows were in the wardrobe but they were so smelly i could not use them. Breakfast was ok and the evening meal excellent. Lovely view from the dining room of the mature well kept gardens. Spa was lovely and very well organised. Although it is detached, it is only a few minutes walk from the hotel.

I revisited the area after being away for 18 months and although the hotel is good there are areas that could do with some upgrading to bring this hotel back to where it was. The hotel has seen a lot of traffic over the last few years and this shows in a number of the rooms. However the staff are excellent and go out of their way to make the stay enjoyable

We stayed hear last night to catch up with family for birthday celebration. Check in was most efficient but our room was one of the best we had stayed in and compared favourably with many of the Fairmont hotels that we stayed in recently in Canada. Breakfast was excellent and the service was all that we could have wished for. We just wish we had more time to explore the beautiful grounds. We hope to return and spend more time in your lovely hotel.

We stayed at the hotel for an evening away as part of a birthday. The hotel is fantastic as you can relax in the spa during the afternoon and enjoy a beautiful meal in the evening. Staff at the hotel can't do enough for you with the service 2nd to none. Will definitely be back

Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. Heat in hotel unbearable and hotel has no air conditioning in hotel or rooms. Fans are not acceptable, however in hot summer days they should be standard in every room and no request should be made for one to be delivered. Flies invaded room when windows were opened. Bathroom lights did not work. Plastic drink cups in bathroom which were sealed in plastic had insects inside. When sink was used water bubbled up from the waste pipe in shower also bringing up S bend muck.

Having stayed a number of times before, Keavil House still continues to deliver a high standard across all areas. From Chech-In to Check - out no problems at all, and the accomadation, food, Spa, and staff were all excellent. I booked two rooms directly with the hotel, and all was as expected when I arrived. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff in all the areas attentive , without being overpowering. I look forward to our next visit Thank you to all the staff.

Returned to Keavil House for another 3 night break 18th Aug and once again found all the staff very friendly and always ready to assist when requested. Phoned hotel direct and got room suitable to our requirements. Cannot praise dinning room staff enough as I require gluten and wheat free food and staff were fully aware of what the chef could provide for me but always check on my order. The only downsides of our stay was the long queues at hot breakfast area due to a large number bus party guests all trying to get food at the same time and food kept running out. Duty manager did try to get more Bacon, eggs etc onto the serving area with some success. Another was when asked for a glass of house wine was served a small carafe and only when signing for dinner did I find this cost £8.60 and this is expensive. However are looking forward to returning to Keavil House again shortly

The hotel is very clean and in great shape. Staff were brilliant. very friendly and professional. The food at breakfast and dinner was not warm enough and needed cooking through more. Not just my opinion but the rest of people in my party

Was going to book this through Groupon but called the hotel direct and they matched the offer Big rooms with large bathrooms with bath and shower. Tea making facilities plus BT sport on the tv We had dinner and breakfast which we're both great. The only downside is the price of a glass of wine which I found a little expensive We would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel

I stayed at the Keevil for 2 nights in a standard double room. I was pleasantly surprised how spacious the room was and it overlooked the attractive gardens.The bed was large and very comfortable and the decor in the room a mixture of old style furniture with some modern fittings. It has an attractive leisure facility which I looked around but didn't use. The food was very good and staff very attentive. Overall I was impressed, just a few minor criticisms, the expelair in the bathroom was noisy and the shower not particularly powerful. Also, the menu in the room didn't match the one in the restaurant. While the room was pretty clean the wall lights needed dusting. Overall, a positive experience.

This hotel has it all. A lovely building and grounds, well appointed rooms and lovely spaces to relax in. The pool and gym are spacious. We especially enjoyed eating in the dinning room as it overlooks the garden. The chef has to be complimented as this is the freshest and most flavourful food we have had at a hotel. The highlight are the staff who have all been kind, helpful and friendly with no exceptions. I cannot rate this high enough it beats many higher starred hotels. Thank you from Colin and Yvonne

Lovely hotel, great rooms very reasonably priced. Found this whilst looking for a one night stay near South Queenferry to see friends. Will definitely visit again. The staff are all fabulous from check in to night barman, all couldn't do enough to make the stay relaxing and hassle free.

I do expect high standards from Best Western and that's what I got. I did have a couple of niggles but not enough to spoil the stay. Remote wasn't always working (no guide on the TV) and the internet password did not work - I didn't report any of these (didn't feel irked enough to do that). Was a good value stay.

Great value DBB trip near to home but still felt like we got away. Pool, steam room etc added bonus to keep kids entertained and we got peace, taking it in turns to sit in steam room. Food was real icing on the cake. We didn't expect much so were very pleasantly surprised to get served really good food. All of the staff were lovely. They were clearly kept busy but there was always a smile if you asked them something or passed them by. A gem of a place that we will definitely return to.

My wife & I spent 3 very pleasant nights at Keavil House last weekend. Really welcoming check-in, nice room (we'd requested a specific room in advance and were very happy that we got it), and all of the staff were very friendly. Overall the food was good, apart from the soft boiled eggs at breakfast (my wife had 6 on Monday morning, all hard boiled!). It's a really nice hotel if you're in the area. We've stayed 4 times now, visit #5 will be coming soon!

The postcode on the confirmation email took us left at the final set of traffic lights instead of right, so we hoped that it wasnt an indicator of the hotel. Well it wasnt !!! Service with a smile and a friendly chat all the way through - its wonderful to see people enjoying their job and with such team energy !! Our room was lovely, although on the car park(north) side so a little dark - will ask for a garden view next time. All facilities were spotless and well arranged, the grounds were fabulous with a group of buddleias covered in butterflies, the food was delicious and we had great weather which was an added bonus. It was my birthday during our stay so one of the waitresses baked a cupcake which appeared on a decorated plate with a candle. Such a thoughtful touch !!!!

I've used this health club for the last year. The facilities are fantastic and well kept. I've always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The regulars are also really nice and there's always a good atmosphere. I've loved using the club every morning and will definitely miss it. We're moving house but if we ever move back to the area I'll look forward to rejoining. Thank you

Came for lunch today - very disappointed!! Second rate sandwiches and indifferent service.! Enquired about 20% discount as I'm a member of their Picture of Health club - abrupt individual applied less than he should have - only 10% - and only on food and only for me!! On the back of my membership card it says 20% discount on both food and drinks!! A very poor show indeed!!!

What a wonderful stay at the Keavil House last week! We traveled with a group from the States and the Keavil House was our last stop before returning home. If you follow my reviews, you know when it comes to hotels I have a few words of advice to share. One - embrace the local culture and get to know the people and staff at the hotel to find out more about the area. Two - if you want the creature comforts of home - stay home. You are there for a short stay just roll with things. and Three - always treat others as you wish to be treated - you will be glad you did. We were greeted by the hotel manager and front desk staff - unfortunately, I cannot remember their names and I know I should have written them down - but they were both great. They helped get all of our group to their rooms and settled in. Even the guests who were struggling with rooms and appliances. Rooms: We had two adjoining rooms which was great for our boys. The rooms were clean and comfortable and plenty of room to move around. The shortbread with the tea service were delicious - I was disappointed my boys chose to not have their room cleaned each day or I would have been eating twice as much shortbread! Nice big televisions which were great for weekend movie watching in the evening to relax. Hotel: I would certainly stay here again and I would feel comfortable and safe to stay here if I was traveling alone or with just my family (as opposed to a large group). Restaurant: The staff - especially Mags and the other young woman who managed our meals on the last night were just fantastic. All of the wait staff were really and I wish I knew all of their names because they were just great. Including the young man who came out and took our group photo on the steps! The food was delicious and the desserts worth every calorie. If you have the opportunity to enjoy the beer mug brownie sundae - I highly recommend it! The dining room was comfortable for a large or small group and the scenery out the windows beautiful. Grounds: The grounds are great for walking and exploring. Often local folks bring their dogs to exercise and if you are a dog lover you can get your 'puppy fix' - this is great for folks who have had to leave their pets at home and are missing them. Pool: Oh, my - it is wonderful. Easy entry with shallow steps and lovely and big for swimming or relaxing. A section is designed for lap swimmers, but when not in use plenty of room to relax. The hot tub is sort of connected to the pool and you might even feel like you are in a Roman bath. It was a great way to end a busy day. Location: There is a long drive that leads back to the hotel or also known as a 'wee walk. However, when you walk it with friends it is shorter than it seems. At the end of the drive there is a bakery and a little convenience store. Lounge/Bar: Great area outside of the dining room to gather before or after dinner for a drink or chat with friends. The bar tenders were great and even joined us in some classic rock singing one evening. They were even willing to try making some American drinks which were probably just called by another name and they were great at making non-alcoholic drinks for our teenage boys. Even the one who was technically legal - we just didn't tell him! I look forward to returning to the Keavil House and hope to bring another group one of these days.

Keavil House employs hard working and client focussed staff. Felt that breakfast staff were too busy getting place prepared for evening to take notice of us. Had to ask for several items and felt that we were interrupting them. They were working hard to get the place ready but as customers sitting there it was a bit uncomfortable as we are not pushy people and felt we were bothering them. Reception staff and cleaning staff are excellent.. Room lovely, bathroom spotless, bathroom supplies lovely.

Very disappointed in overall service.it all started badly on arrival room never had a bath as promised nothing mentioned regarding partners birthday no phone working for room service 4 flight's of stairs for a cigarette room ment to have a terrace

We stayed here for 3 nights recently. We had 2 rooms and both were of a good size with very comfortable beds. In our room we had 2 The shower was powerful enough for me.easy chairs, which isn't always the case. The toiletries were replaced when needed.. The location was ideal for us as we wanted to see a little of both Edinburgh and Glasgow. The train station was only a few minutes drive away. We ate in the restaurant each night and the service was excellent, especially as they had a coach party of 50 on our first night and 18 on our second night. The menu was varied with something for everyone. I try not to repeat meals when we are away but the cod was so good I had a hard job not repeating this. The breakfast was buffet style but the food tasted fresh and wasn't dried out. The pool and changing area seemed on good order. The pool was not too cold. The grounds were extensive and very attractive. Now a couple of grumbles, which wouldn't stop us staying there again, but are still issues. The carpet in our room had black marks and coffee stains and there appeared to be vomit stains on the carpet in the hall ways. There was a cocktail list in the bar but the cocktail list in the drinks menu in the restaurant had many more. It would have been nice if the full list was in the bar as well. To finish on a positive note, the staff were all friendly and helpful. There were shortbread biscuits and apples on the reception desk and take away tea and coffee available by the front door. If we want to explore this area more we will definitely come back here.

I was invited to a work colleagues wedding here. I had been to the hotel for a meal a few times but never a wedding. I have to say that it was perfect from start to finish. Everything about it was done with perfection in mind. I mean who would have thought about having a display of beautiful owls which we were allowed to hold to pass the time while photographers took the pictures. There was also a 4 piece orchestra playing both at the wedding but also outside. The weather helped as it was a glorious day. Sorry keavil you cant take credit for that but you can take credit for everything else. The food and the quickness in the way the food was served was also excellent. The room where the wedding took place had been decorated with an eye for detail. No expense had been spared. I cant say i will be back there for a wedding but i will definitely go back for a meal in the restaurant. What a truly wonderful day we had which was made all the better by all the professional staff the keavil had laid on for the wedding. Definitely a great place if you are thinking about getting married.

We stayed here for two nights as a last minute weekend away to have a day into the Highlands and a day in Edinburgh. The hotel is perfectly situated to take you into the Highlands with no stress of motorways/traffic out of Edinburgh and equally well placed to get you into Edinburgh. The staff here were lovely from the time I called to check availability to when we checked out. The outside of the hotel is spotless and surrounded by beautiful gardens. The health club is great, providing a pool to relax in after the drive here. No need to look elsewhere for food either as breakfast and tea were lovely also. The room was great as well. Nice and big, comfortable bed, big TV and a great shower.

Hotel lovely , service Brilliant, Wedding Brilliant , Check in Great , no health club facilities but was put right with discount. Check out not so great had a problem with bill which was rectified by the Lovely Manager Craig. Breakfast Manager was also very hard working. The 2 girls at checkout were miserable & torn faced faced particularly the one with brown shoulder length hair needs some training in hospitality!

I have stayed at this several times in the past twelve months and always receive a warm welcome. The restaurant food is of a good quality at both evening meals and breakfast which has a large range to choose from off of the buffet and to order. On my visits there I have always found the staff to be professional and helpful.

We had a group of 43 stay here in June. The rooms were ready when we arrived and the staff was friendly. Keavil House has the charm of an old estate - the rooms are not brand new - but they are large and clean. The pool was refreshing and the breakfast was superb!

Got a wowcher for spa &lunch for 2at the keavel house hotel .Got all the details on a card for my birthday from my daughter .booked in 4 days before and was informed that what I had was fine Arrived on the Sunday morning 10am for gym and swim and lunch at 12 .30 Receptionist inform that I wasn't booked in and I she required me to have a printed copy I told her my daughter phone and has e mail you all the details and we were told this was okay but I had to phone my daughter to speak to her as she was not believing me the information we were give a couple of days ago .Bythe time we got this sort I was upset had lost a fair bit of Tim in the spa and gym.When we got in there it was way too busy jacuzzi was out of order the steam room was packed no room Okay just go for lunch and call it a day.The starter was very nice we had oat cakes with pate . We wait an hour for our main course thought they had forgot us .Haddock chips and mushie peas chips were frozen chips the batter on The haddock was soggy was not a nice lunch big disappointment I certainly would not use the keavel hotel for anything again

My fiance and I stayed here overnight with our 5yr old son, the check in was quick and efficient the manager passed through and greeted us with a smile, our room was spacious and comfortable. We used the leisure which was great albeit the Jacuzzi was out of order due to maintenance (who am I kidding that my 5yr old would give me time to use it). The dinner was lovely with Rachel and her team doing a great job, the staff may be young but were very professional and worked hard. The lounge and bar area was very comfortable with attentitive staff, we had the absolute pleasure of meeting two other couples who became our son's grandparents for the night, wonderful people who made our stay just perfect!! Overall a great friendly professional hotel which I would thoroughly recommend and will certainly return to.

From the moment of arrival we were met with friendliness and care. Audrey on reception - amazing. We had a fantastic time and the hotel services were faultless. Rooms were immaculate, spacious and had all we needed. Spa and pool super. Food and service all as good as can be. Have stayed here many times and will do again. First class - well done Team Keavil - nailed it.

When you turn down the drive at first you wonder if you have the right place as you go round the houses to the end of the road. Plenty of parking in two separate car parks it's just a short walk to the entrance. Our room was comfortable, overlooking the garden. There was plenty of tea and milk and good Wi Fi. We ate in the restaurant which has a reasonable selection and the staff were friendly and prompt. Breakfast next day was excellent with a good buffet but also additional items that could be requested. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We didn't use the leisure facilities which are in a separate building. The bed was very comfortable and we had an excellent nights sleep.

Love this place. Great location friendly staff couldn't be more helpful to me, a single parent with 2 young children. So quiet and peaceful at night allied with comfortable beds meant perfect nights sleep every night. Big thanks to the lady on reception who went out of her way to sort my breakfast vouchers out. You know who you are! Thanks

A faultless stay, stopped here many times and it's is continously maintaining it quality. The staff make the stop very enjoyable with all of them happy to see and assist all at the hotel. The food is excellent with very reasonable prices. The rooms and facilities are very good with good views considering the location. Its top of my list for a relaxing stop.

Spent an overnight at this hotel on a dinner, bed and breakfast deal. Everything was just perfect. Staff were very friendly, room comfortable and clean, dinner lovely and an excellent breakfast buffet. We used the pool which was good not too cold like a lot of hotel pools, maybe more seats round the pool would be better but hard to find anything to complain about. A lovely stay, thank you.

Well where do I start this hotel is amazing the staff, venue, service from start to finish was Amazing first class ti be honest. Craig the wedding coordinator was brilliant and tended to my daughters needs for the last 2 yrs he is a asset to the hotel Just want to say thank you so much for making her day go without any hitches and was truly amazing xx

Stayed here for work and it's certainly one of the best hotels I've stayed at. Got a room upgrade so my room was large and very comfortable. Bed was comfortable, desk ideal for working at and nice bathroom. Hotel also has a gym and pool which opens at 6.30 so managed a morning swim one day. Nice grounds too for a walk. Food was very good and reasonably priced, although not quick. Probably cooked from fresh though. Service was mostly very good apart from a couple of waitresses who let the team down a bit. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed for one night passing through area. Bed comfortable and walk in shower was perfect. Room clean, spacious and accommodating. Restaurant and service spot on and food delicious. Only criticism I can make is that room was right next to laundry room and staff seemed to be very noisy using this area and using the rear for a smoking area, meaning it was not pleasant to have the room window open. Other than that, can't fault it.

Lunch was excellent, staff, ambience, food [ fish and chips delicious, in fact you will be hard pushed to be served such a high quality batter on your fish anywhere] In fact no fault could be found. An excellent Christmas present

The Sauna & hot tub were out of action,pool too cold to swim in ; , We ate in the restaurant the first night - extremely disappointing & not good service , certainly not the standard we were expecting from a Best Western Hotel !

Was the venue for my brother and sister in law's wedding. Stayed over on Friday night and Saturday night. Excellent weekend. Staff were all very pleasant and helped ensure stay was enjoyable from check in until check out. Will definitely visit again in future.

I have limited experience of the BW chain, but the Keavil is an excellent hotel. The staff are very friendly and make the visit more enjoyable. The facilities are good and the food is excellent, i am disappointed of they are full and i have t stop in another hotel.

1st class wedding venue. My daughter & now son-in-law chose to have their wedding at the Keavil (6/4/19) in the Elgin Suite. From 1st contact to wedding day I could not fault. Comunication was fantastic staff are so friendly & in my opinion they go above & beyond to make the day special. The hotel offer packages to suit most wedding budgets so if you're thinking about booking for your wedding don't think do it ! The hotel recommend some suppliers which my daughter went with, Hayley (florist) Sashes (venue styling) Steve (piper) Victoria ( photographer) all did an amazing job. Guests at the wedding keep telling me how amazing the food was ! Thanks Phil & team ! We all had such an amazing day & we couldn't have done it without Craig !!! he's a STAR kept everything moving smoothly with ease & a fab sense of humour & always a smile. One of the best hotels I have stayed in. The team make the stay, team members never walk past you without acknowledging or even chatting to you. Nothing is too much bother, it is obvious that they are proud of their jobs and want you to have the best stay you can. Everyone from the duty managers who were above excellent to the waiting staff were perfect and made our break special. On top of this the food is amazing, well above the usual hotel fare and always served by lovely team members who make sure you enjoy the experience. Beds are comfortable and the rooms are spotless I will definitely be back. Thank you for making our stay so nice a lot of hotels could learn from you and your team. (I was the guest with the broken ankle and the team constantly made sure I was ok and asked if I needed help). Hopefully see you all again soon.

Easy to find just off the main road with beautiful gardens. This Best Western enjoys a large car park, good sized rooms (a little dated but well kept) tea, coffee, iron, hairdryer. Our room was at the front overlooking the car park... the rooms facing south enjoy a garden view. It was quite expensive for the area however the restaurant was NOT overpriced and the food was much better than the usual hotel fare. We would certainly recommend eating there if you are in the area.

We arrived at Keavil House for an anniversary break having never stayed there before and were in for a treat. Upon being initially disappointed that the Jacuzzi was out of order in the adjacent health club (not the fault of the hotel) we booked into our Superior Double Room. The room (40) was spacious and immaculate with a patio door that led out to gardens with a resident pheasant population who were only too happy to investigate the grass outside our door to our pleasure. The Duty Manager Michael was extremely professional, polite and funny to boot as he quickly and attentively dealt with a small issue we had upon arrival. The food in the restaurant was as good as we have ever tasted and the staff from reception to resteraunt were all as courteous and polite as you would expect from such a high standard establishment. In closing we will be back to repeat the experience and are over the moon to have discovered this diamond of a hotel.

Hard to fault for the price , really nice clean room and lovely staff. Swimming pool and sauna are nice touches. Bar and restaurant quite expensive. Would recommend bringing a car as theres not too much within walking distance. Great stay all in all, highly recommended.

We have visited this hotel a number of times, and always enjoyed it. Staff are friendly, efficient, and effective. The surroundings are comfortable, the restaurant works well in the evening and at breakfast (thank you Etienne). The spa is well run, with gym, pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi, with spa treatments also available. The hotel has been certified for its ability to provide for disabled guests. Would we go back - seem like a good bet.

Stayed here whilst attending a wedding and had a great stay , the room was great breakfast excellent and the grounds were very nice. The only issue I had was a misunderstanding as regards the cancellation of a room through Booking.com which the receptionist at check in didn't deal with very professionally. But I'd certainly like to return in the future

Although living in a neighbouring village, yesterday was my first visit to Keavil House in a few years. Attracted by the lunch deal in the Botanist Restaurant- £11 for 2 courses. With my expectation level set according to the price I was going to pay, I arrived to find we would be eating in a well set out conservatory with views over the manicured lawn. As it was a bright sunny day it was a nice setting. Staff were attentive and did warn us that there may be a slight delay over the course of the service as there was a party of around 30 already in the restaurant. This wasn't an issue for us and any delay was minimal. Simply put the lunch we had was excellent value for money, haggis and Italian meat platter to start followed by mains of steak pie and a chicken and mushroom dish. Good sized portions, well cooked and presented. At £11 per head no one could have any complaint and it certainly exceeded my expectations by a long way. Will undoubtedly be back.

Well I don't know what negative thing to say as the service and staff where so accommodating helpful,friendly, and the meals where absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone and will tell all my friends and family. Will definitely be going back. Please visit this great place you'll have a great time. Wowcher deal, so never know what to expect, as you wonder why they are on offer. However pleasantly surprised with everything - Room, leisure suite, restaurant. The Maitre D is fantastic and went out of her way for everyone.

Attended for lunch with 3 yr old and a baby had the buffet which was excellent value while my husband and daughter had steak pie which they said was delicious. The children's menu was okay very much the normal sweet menu not a wide variety especially if you don't like ice cream. Trying to pay was really slow my husband asked 3 different people for the bill before he actually complained however would definitely return

Husband and I stayed here overnight,from check-in and for our stay staff were very welcoming and friendly,lovely atmosphere. Room spacious and spotless. Grounds are beautiful. Restaurant service was great and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was amazing. Would highly recommend a stay hair and 30mins drive from Edinburgh it's perfect. We also made use of the health spa,lovely clean facilities and Annevthe beauty therapist is so lovely must say best massage I've had and such s lovely lady. We most certainly shall be back

Just back from yet another stay at Keavil House Hotel. This was our 4 visit to the hotel and again very pleased with the service received. We had an Executive Family Room which gave us lots of space with our 15 year old son. The food was really good the menu was new to us this time and a lot more choice. Breakfasts fantastic as well. The bar has been renewed from our last visit which was lovely. Can't wait to come back again soon.

My wife and I attended a wedding at this location on 6/4/19. We stayed at the hotel from 5/4/19 to 8/4/19. On our arrival at 3.30pm the room was like an ice box. The safe was not working. We immediately advised reception of the need for the safe, only to be told there was a wedding on and they were busy. (that's not my problem) After an hour we spoke to reception and left, taking our valuables with us. We could stand the cold no longer. On 6/4/19 the water in the sink would not drain. I found the base of the plug choked with dirt (which I partially cleaned) and showed room service who completed the cleaning exercise. At breakfast on 7/4/19 my teacup had a crack down one side and across the bottom. The room was allegedly an "upgrade". It was fairly basic and had no hairdryer. Best Western class this as a luxury venue. In my opinion Best Western strive to reach levels of INADEQUACY. (A distinct lack of attention to detail) Not our first like finding in Best Western Hotels.

Me and a friend went here for a spa, had a meal before hand fabulous service very friendly and helpful staff, food was amazing and well presented. The leisure facilities are great we had a great afternoon will definitely be back.

Was very pleased with my meal at the hotel and the service was great! I had the blue cheese panna cotta for starter, tofu for main and the dark and white chocolate tart for pudding. All three of these meals were fantastic and I would happily try those again. The portions were decent and they were all cooked brilliantly. I greatly enjoyed my visit and I would happily visit again. There was also a good selection of vegetarian options which I was very happy with as I am a vegetarian myself. I recommend trying out the restaurant here as I greatly enjoyed coming here.

What a fantastic overnight we had here at the keavil house hotel. Rooms were spacious beautiful and clean, facilities were great and food was delicious... can't fault it at all. A definite credit to the best western chain.

Great hotel,helpful staff, 3 course dinner was fantastic and great value, the best peppercorn sauce you will ever try !!. Room was fine, bathroom a bit jaded with the royal blew edging tiles on white background looking a bit like a giant tea service colour scheme, keep it all white, easy to upgrade or change colour scheme.

Excellent Customer service from the beginning of our stay until check-out. Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make your needs met. I would highly recommend staying here and we will be back in the future.

Attended this lovely hotel for a women's weekend away in mid March (around 50 of us) the rooms were immaculate and and well maintained throughout our stay. The food was of a high standard, great buffet breakfast and the evening meal in our conference room was delicious with efficient and friendly service, the room had a bar in situ to keep us refreshed. The staff were very helpful with the manager overseeing everything under his watchful eye, always scanning to see that everyone was happy! We have returned booked this venue before for our weekend, and I anticipate we will book it again. Well done to management and all the staff, and thank you for being an excellent host for our weekend.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times with work after it was recommended to me. The hotel is a real pleasure to stay in, staff are all polite and the food and drink are first class. The gym at the hotel is like a mini pleasure centre so when busy can get full but I've always been able to get on the equipment and use the pool facilities. coffee and Tea is available to take on exit which I find a nice touch from a welcoming hotel.

Very helpful and the big day went as smooth as it could do , staff was very helpful with small baby and our grandson who is autistic and doesn't cope well with crowds and noise. We had dinner the night before the wedding and it was lovely breakfast is very good also

I have just returned from my 3rd weekend spent at Keavil House for our Church Woman's Weekend away. From the moment we checked in on the Friday to when we left on the Sunday the service we received was outstanding. Even before we arrived, there were are few last minute changes to be made and Morag and Angela were so pleasant and nothing was a problem and got everything sorted for us. The meeting room was all set up perfectly for us and we did need to ask for extra tables etc and this was arranged straight away. The food was fantastic, the leisure facilities were great too. We were looked after by Craig and his team, nothing was ever a problem and what we love is that the same staff have been around and looking after us over the last 4 years. We look forward to our next visit hopefully later next year. Thank you so so much to all at Keavil House! I can speak on behalf of the other 40 odd Woman that were there at the weekend. We will be back !

Can't really fault this hotel. We asked for ajoining rooms allowing both parties to access the internal doors and the staff were more than accommodating. Food was excellent both at breakfast and evening meal and the staff throughout the hotel could not have been anymore pleasent or Helpful. We had a great stay in a hidden gem of a place with an excellent leisure facility yards away. Although we did not require this they have excellent wet rooms suitable for wheelchairs.

Me and my wife stayed at this wonderful hotel on Sunday 10th March as part of our anniversary break. I had previously seen the hotel come up on Myhotelbreak and thought it looked nice but this was the first time we took the gamble and decided to stay there, and we were so glad we did. We arrived at the hotel around 3pm and were greeted by the lovely Audrey at reception, we received a very warm welcome from Audrey, she is a credit to this establishment and extremely well suited to that position. We checked into our room, a lovely double room on the ground floor (the room had French door access to a well kept garden area) Dinner was also excellent, we were both very impressed with the Cullen skink (which came with a poached egg in the middle of the bowl) would give the food here 10/10, restaurant staff were very friendly and professional. Breakfast the next morning was cooked to order, I believe it is normally a buffet service but as we were the only two guests at breakfast we were able to pick what we wanted and it was cooked fresh, we both had the scrambled eggs with salmon and again it was excellent. Alistair (the manager) came up to us at breakfast to ask if we were happy with our stay, I thought that was a nice touch as he obviously cares about his guests and cares about how his hotel is being perceived, of course we told him that everything was first class. We have stayed in many Best Western hotels and this was by far the Best, a head and shoulders above any of the others. Would happily recommend to family and friends, and will definitely return in the near future.

What an absolutely fabulous hotel. Food was fantastic. Eidan one of mangers was chatty and very friendly he made you feel like you were the only people there. all the staff were lovey nothing was any trouble to any of them. Room was spacious and warm. Pool and spa facilities were clean. We can't wait to visit again. No complaints at all about this lovely hotel

I stayed at the hotel for 1 night on 6th March and all staff from reception through to the bar and restaurant could not do enough for me. Nothing was too much trouble and all were extremely polite. The hotel was clean and tidy and I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is not so far out off Edinburgh and a good start to go to the Highlands. It's very quiet and easy to find. You can eat in the hotel and there is a bar in the hotel. Everything is clean and the rooms are big enough. The beds sleep very good and the breakfast was also good. It tasted good and there was more then enough. The service was also fine. We can recommend the hotel and will be going again.

Stayed at this hotel last week. The room was perfect and clean. Me and my husband went to the restaurant for breakfast the next day to be treated badly. The staff seemed like they didn't want to be there. The restaurant wasn't very busy and they seemed to just stand about and watch you eat your meal. Overall the food wasn't up to much. Thanks for a good stay

We have been to keavil house about 12 times now and always enjoy it the staff are lovely and so welcoming. We had been allocated an upstairs room but because of mobility issues we were allocated room 34 downstairs and upgrade to a family suite. The room was lovely and we were very pleased with it. The only thing is it has a really really bad smell of dampness I think it was. We did mention it in checkout. After about an hour in the room we couldn't smell it butterly after you went out and came back in the smell hit you again. We did mention it to reception. We still hav3 given five stars

We stayed at this hotel last year for my boyfriend's birthday and we enjoyed it so much we came back again this year. Unfortunately, it has gone downhill since regarding the customer service received and attitude of staff. On arrival, we were tended to by a not so friendly receptionist. Straight away, she presented me with a bill for £80 and asked if she could take a debit card. Confused, I asked what this charge was for, to which she simply replied “accommodation”, as if it was a completely trivial question. I was about to hand over my card, doubting myself as to whether I had already paid or not, but I quickly checked my account and £100 for the room had been already taken out. I told the receptionist I have already paid and she checked and realised that I had in fact paid. I think this is something that should be double checked by the receptionist before arrival, as being brandished with an incorrect bill as soon as we arrived wasn't the best start to our night away. She then told us that we have breakfast included, which is served in the dining area until 10am. In the morning, we made our way down to breakfast. The waitress asked for our room number before we sat down. The breakfast was buffet style, and was very poor quality. After finishing our food, as we were walking out the waitress who took our table number chased us out and told us that our room did not include breakfast. I told her that the receptionist was the one who told us we have breakfast included. Had it not of been included in the price, there was no way we would of paid for a breakfast of that standard. She told us she'd speak to reception to find out why we were told our breakfast was included when it was not. Might I add, she chased us out and loudly confronted us in front of other diners, which was embarrassing as it seemed as though she was accusing us of trying to get away with a free breakfast. If she was unsure, she could have checked with reception first or discreetly asked us, however this was not the case. Prior to booking, I had also made sure we got a late check out of 12pm. On returning back to our room after breakfast, we double checked with the receptionist that 12pm was the latest check out we could have. Barely even looking up from her computer she just replied yeah. So we went back to our room and at about 11.45 we got a call from the same receptionist we spoke to about the late check out asking where we were as check out was at 11am. We had just spoke to this woman about an hour beforehand, and it had also been confirmed before arriving that we had a late check out. I did not appreciate being phoned and rushed out the room like this without even checking what time we were supposed to be checked out by. All in all, the attitude and sheer lack of knowledge about their job from the staff here was terrible. I don't know whether the staff are too lazy to check the booking details before making these assumptions/accusations, and quite frankly it made our stay a lot less relaxing. To have the staff constantly getting it wrong, from trying to charge extra upon arrival, to telling us we don't have breakfast included to phoning to kick us out the room when we specifically asked for late check out was either down to zero communication between staff or just due to downright carelessness and laziness when dealing with the booking. The woman at reception was extremely rude, not accommodating in the slightest and quite frankly, not the first face that a paying customer wants to have to encounter on arrival. The number of mistakes, none of which we received any sort of apology for, was too much for it to be a relaxing getaway, as the staff were far too quick to make these assumptions and confront us about it, without taking a second to do their job and check these things properly. You should feel relaxed and totally accommodated for when staying at a hotel, especially as it wasn't the cheapest of places, but unfortunately this was definitely not the case.

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary for two nights again we were not disappointed we arrived at reception and Audrey was really lovely she recognised us from our last stay and we were given a upgrade and the room was lovely. The staff are always pleasant and they work hard the food is amazing and breakfast is also good with plenty of choices we want to say thank you for another great stay and we will be back again .

My stay at this property was undoubtedly the worst stay that I have ever experience in my many years of traveling. An absolutely trying and exhausting ordeal. The staff and management had the most sour, rude, sarcastic attitude that I have ever come across. Avoid.

We stayed at this hotel as a group Hogmanay break for 4 nights The hotel was warm and welcoming and all the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a good time The rooms are warm, comfy beds, nice toiletries The food had enough choices to please everyone and was always hot. New years eve and New years day celebrations were very convivial. We liked the haggis too.

Just returned from Keavil House Hotel. Hotel was lovely and clean. We had a superior room, very spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were very polite and helpful. Food was lovely, we were staying on DBB deal, however we had a sandwich in the afternoon which was delicious. Alcohol reasonably priced. We used the leisure facilities which were nice also. We would definitely return to this establishment

We bought a voucher via LivingSocial and usually have a slight apprehension on how it's going to go... Booking was easy, and no hassle getting a weekend date either (especially one week before expiry). I used to live around the corner from the hotel so finding it was easy enough. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted in the spa area and told the details of what was on offer, and handed towels. We started in the gym, which is bigger than most standard hotel gyms and has a wide range of free standing weights, cardio and weight machines. After a session in the gym we headed over to the restaurant. The place was packed, which is always a good sign, and given it was Sunday, they had their Sunday Roast Carvery on. The gentlemen who seated us explained the menu and the roast options (I was very surprised to see the full menu on offer - had expected a shortened one based on the details of the offer). The menu has a range of starters, mains and desserts - we opted to split a starter and dessert (greater chance to try the menu). To start was the blue cheese panna cotta - delicious, and topped with a crunchy granola. Mains were the chargrilled chicken (which was very chargrilled, and only saved by the amount of gravy on the plate), along with the sea bream salad. Portion sizes in comparison to cost showcase great value for money. To end, we opted for the beer mug brownie (and wow, it was good, far too much for one person, but thankfully we shared). All other food that came past looked good, and a sizeable portion! After lunch we headed back over to the spa and enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. It was relatively busy, but still enough space overall for people to do as they please. Have recommended the lunch option to others already, and for the time that the lunch/spa offer is on, have suggested they look at that too. Would happily return again.

Booked in for lunch and use of the leisure facilities on a Saturday afternoon. Lunch service was great and the food was ok. One of our starters was not as described but tasty all the same. And one of our mains was (chicken dish) was burnt, I do suspect it is supposed to be served with a charred finish but this was burnt black and tasted very bitter. The inside was still moist and apart from lumpy mash the rest of the dish was delicious. Use of the leisure facilities meant swim, sauna and steam room for us, all of which were great. Unfortunately the changing rooms were so unclean we had to complain on the way out. It had been over 3 hours since the cleaning chart had been signed and there was mud, dirty tissues and filthy towels everywhere and the changing cubicles smelt of urine. It was truly disgusting and I can see why paying members were also complaining.

A pleasant and swift check built me up, but the room was tired and dated. The room was kept clean, but still felt grubby due to the age. The mattress was really really soft, which meant the bed experience was less pleasant. However, for those negative points, it was clean that certain parts of the hotel were being refreshed and refurbished, so hopefully that will soon come to the rooms. The staff in the restaurant were fantastic and should be commended for their friendly yet professional attitude.

Impressed. I booked a table of 14 for the late Christmas Day Buffet Lunch having never eaten at this hotel before I wasn't sure what it would be like and especially on Christmas Day. But I need never have worried. The staff we extremely friendly and welcoming on arrival and throughout dinner. Everyone had a genuine smile and time to chat, even the chefs carving the meats had some banter for everyone. The food was very good with a huge variety of starters, mains & desserts and everyone at our table commented on how good it was, and we had some fussy eaters with us. The magician and visit from Santa topped the day off. It was a relaxed and informal Christmas dinner and would recommended it to anyone who is thinking of going out for Christmas.

Lovely day out. Spa was, as always, great. First time for lunch but will definitely be back. Food was excellent and staff very attentive. The restaurant was very modern and comfortable. The choice of food was excellent - spoilt for choice really.

Hotel average, found the staff in the dining room obliging and breakfast nice enough, although some food kept hot under lights which is usual for this kind of hotel. They have a nice swimming pool in an adjacent building which can be used by people using the hotel and other members too. Pool and changing rooms were clean and quite busy, also has a coffee shop. The rooms are fairly modern and well furnished, I found the bed a bit uncomfortable and hard. Only criticism is bathroom bin had not been emptied from last guest, which was not very nice.

My husband and i visited your hotel for the 4th time this weekend staying Saturday 24th November until Sunday 25th November. I had phoned and booked just the previous Sunday and was offered a superb dinner, bed and breakfast deal for a standard double room with full use of the pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna rooms which we love. When we arrived we had been upgraded to a superior room overlooking the gardens which we love and were so chuffed. As always everything about our stay was superb. The room, the comfort of it, how welcome we were made to feel by every member of staff, the pool, jacuzzi, steam/sauna rooms and the food in the restaurant which was absolutely wonderful. We always feel so relaxed and chilled out at Keavil House and this time it was no exception.We feel like it is exactly the place to go to relax and feel spoiled. Thank you so much.We cannot rate you highly enough. We will be back as soon as we can and maybe even manage 2 nights!

We stayed here for one night and would highly recommend this Hotel. Lovely warm welcome from the receptionist and all staff very friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and spacious with lovely big, comfortable bed. Dinner in the restaurant was really good and the breakfast was absolutely lovely. Piping hot food from the buffet with a good selection.

The service offered at the hotel was beyond fantastic! The staff made you feel very welcomed and important! The food was just heavily! The choice they have is very nice, especially the desert. Taste buds were having the time of their life! Bedroom was also lovely, no problems at all! Can promise a great sleep!

Great short break with a friend (1st-4th November). Staff could not had done more for us. Comfortable room, excellent food and great staff. Special mentions to: Alan the breakfast chef who made my friend a special breakfast; evening chefs for all their great food; all the waiting staff who looked after us so well - Etienne, Rachel, Jasmine, William and all; Reception staff who upgraded us and made sure we had all we needed - Nicola, Claire, Audrey and also the cleaning staff who kept our room so clean and well supplied. Thank you for another wonderful weekend. We were very well looked after. The hotel staff we met were chatty, welcoming, friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to accommodate everyone's needs and ensure the weekend went smoothly. Everything was well organised. The hotel itself was well-heated throughout, which we all appreciated.

We enjoyed our night had a good meal and breakfast.Also enjoyed the pool and sauna nice relaxing day and night.Although the room was nice and comfortable there was one annoying thing a noise coming from above the room like plumbing or heating was quite loud lasted about ten minutes,this happened twice and was late about 11pm and 1 am so spoiled it a bit it was room 111.Would I go back don't know Although enjoyed everything else shame.....

Booked to go away with hubby and another couple. Lovely spacious room (we were upgraded to executive room). Food was great and leisure facilities great too with large pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.

Not far from where i live about half hour drive . Arrived and quick service and along to room which was lovely fresh and clean. Bathroom was clean and fresh . Went to pool for a while and into sauna and steam room was very quiet . Only one other person in back of five time. Shower area was clean and tidy so was pool area. Nice and peacefull. Our meal was booked for 830 pm so back to room for shower and then back to get table. We arrived for 8 to chance our luck and a table was a available so we got to sit down . Menu had good choice im very fussy and found something nice to eat . We both had £22 food allowance we only went over bill by a pound so was fanstastic. Just bought our own drinks from bar so didnt have any extra charges when leaving next day. Food came out pretty fast but was quiet by 830 . Went back to room with a drink bed was comfy but still cant beat your own bed ! Breakfast was hot buffet or cold buffet cereal fruit etc. It was lovely and tea and coffee and your toast all served to you at table . I would defo recommended this place to anyone who wanted a wee night away. My hubby and I would defo come back in future great value for money we paid £99 room food allowance and breakfast . What a fantastic price for 2 people.

Had a fantastic night away with my best friend. The food was fantastic, the room was lovely, in fact it was the best nights sleep I've ever had at hotel! Pillows and bed very comfortable. The morning breakfast was nice and all the staff encountered during our stay were all very pleasant and happy within their work environment which was nice to see also. Would definitely recommend and plan to stay again. Good value for money.

We decided to give ourselves a wee treat and as it was some years since we had stayed here we thought we'd return. The hotel was lovely and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was on the ground floor quite far from the main reception but this was not a problem. It was obviously fitted out for disabled access but this was fine, especially the large walk in shower. We had dinner and have to say that it was delicious. In the morning we had the cooked breakfast which was buffet style. The eggs are scrambled, but if you want any other kind, or something else you only have to ask the staff and they will try to accomodate you (we asked for fried bread and got two slices each!) Unfortunately we forgot our swimwear so did not manage to use the pool. Overall a lovely stay and the staff are a credit to the hotel with their friendly, helpful manner.

Stayed for one night on work business and can't fault the hotel. Room was clean and tidy, albeit roasting. The last guest left the heater on full tilt! Superb three course dinner with all three courses served promptly by very polite staff members.

I travel regularly with work and rarely leave reviews that should tell you something. Without exception every person from Audrey on reception to all the bar staff and leisure facility staff could not be more helpful and warm. Great to see people who genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. Facilities and the hotel itself could also not be faulted.

We have just spend 2 nights at this Hotel with friend for their 25th Wedding Anniversary and could not fault the hotel. We had been upgraded to the superior rooms and have to say what a great size room. Really good size bathroom with bath and shower, great kingsize bed and loads of hanging space for your clothes. We booked dinner bead and breakfast and food choice and quality was best I have had in some time. Rachael in the Restaurant was fantastic. Great to see a young person take there job serious but also great with the customers and made us very welcome, as did every member of staff. I did read reviews and agree some of the rooms are a long walk from reception. I do agree but what lovely hotel even just to walk through and very well maintained. The pool is also a great size with great gym, sauna and steam room. The hotel is spotless and what great cleaning staff, great to have people happy at work and lovely to speak to. Really impressed with this hotel and will certainly be back in the future. Well done to amazing place with excellent staff.

We enjoyed a lovely two course lunch, and full use of the spa facilities. The leisure facilities are very nice to use, we used the steam room, the sauna, the Jacuzzi and the Swimming Pool for as long as we wanted. We then had a very nice two courses in the hotel restaurant. Very nice food and lovely friendly staff. Will look out for another voucher!!

My wife and I were married at Keavil House 8 years ago and decided we would return for our anniversary. Everything with our wedding had been great and we were wondering if the service would still be the same, we are glad to say that we had a fantastic stay. The hotel is still fantastic for a relaxing stay and with the pool, steam room and sauna facilities is adds to the relaxation. Once again we found each member of staff to be very welcoming, helpful and warm with each asking how we were, this is a simple thing but not common in some hotels. The food was nice and the room very comfortable, if I had one issue then it was the shower pressure, it wasn't what I would expect considering how stunning the room was. Overall though it was great to be back and would recommend this hotel.

Got this on a Wowcha and didn't expect much as far as lunch goes but Wow, hotel beautiful and spotless and restaurant was the same. The South African who served us was fantastic and made you feel at home. The food was simply lovely , fresh and tasty and simply mouth watering. The only thing I would say and it's not a fault just a wee pointer out lol would be the Sea Bass didn't need the wee clump of watercress on top , it looked better without it. But it was great and I would recommend it to anyone .

Popes in to have Sunday lunch and it was lovely. They have a choice of buffet or mini. We chose the menu as my wife is disabled. Staff,service and food were all lovely. We sat in the conservatory which gives u a nice view of the grounds . Defo go bac

My husband was in the area on business and so I hitched a ride with him as he enjoys staying at this hotel very much. We were allocated room 121 and we couldn't fault it in any way, it was spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. We had a view of the gardens and in the distance we could see the new Forth Bridge which is definitely worth a drive over as it is a major feat of engineering. On arrival we were greeted warmly by Reception and offered shortbread cookies which were yummy. The receptionist (sorry didn't get her name) was very informative and booked us in for dinner. Room 121 was a fair walk but it was worth it. Nowhere did we see any areas which were not up to par. Dinner was served in the conservatory which I imagine is lovely in summer with the doors open. It was a toss up between the burger and the steak pie but the steak pie won and was absolutely delicious. I chose ice cream for dessert and it was rather uninspiring and my husband had the chocolate and orange tart, which seemed devoid of orange but we both enjoyed what we had and afterwards I enjoyed a nice pot of tea in the bar while my husband had an alcoholic beverage (when in Scotland …) Breakfast was very good. The soaked muesli was delicious followed by haggis (again, when in Scotland …). I have to say the mushrooms were lovely and it is a good idea for guests to order their fried eggs and have them cooked to order. Checking out was speedy and painfree and a really nice touch was the flasks of tea and coffee and takeaway cups in the foyer ready for your journey. A very enjoyable experience and the next time he is up this way I will definitely come with him as on this occasion I was too lazy to use the health club.

my wife and i arrived with 2 friends for a DB&B deal and as some of us have health problems we were allocated disabled rooms with wet rooms which were very nice but must have been about the furthest rooms from check in and a long walk but we were not offered any assistance with our luggage. the rooms were very nice. When we went for dinner it was a main course and a dessert with the package deal but as my friend is diabetic he asked if he could have a starter and main course and was told that he could not even though we offered to pay any difference in cost. The desserts all cost £6 but the starters varied from £5 to £7 and the main courses varied from £10 to £17. It seems crazy that although they state that they cater for special diets they would not allow my diabetic friend to have a starter. The meal itself was poor, supposedly 3 lamb meals which did not taste like lamb, 3 warm sticky toffee puddings which were cold, a first for sticky toffee pudding and the service left a lot to be desired. I would not stay there again as the dining room was very disappointing

Once again returned to this hotel for an overnight stay and thoroughly enjoyed ever aspect of the hotel, staff are very helpful, breakfast lovely,did not eat evening meal as we were else where. Had a swim in the pool in the morning before leaving and this was up to our usual expectation. Would recommend this hotel highly.

The wife and i stayed for 2 nights for our Anniversary and had a very pleasant stay. Staff were fantastic, very helpful and freindly and made us feel very welcome. Great facilities with the pool, sauna and jacuzzi. The dinners were lovely and we'd recommend the steak pie for a delicious hearty meal. With Dunfermline just a short hop away for days out we had just about the perfect stay. A big shout out to Mags and all the team for looking after us and a special thanks to Callum for keeping us entertained! lol Good luck to all and we hope to stay with you again in the future.

Strayed here on business again and can't fault it, staff good, facilities good, garden room great, food good in restaurant, keep it up. They have a pool and gym as well, price was reasonable as well. See you next time in Scotland hopefully

Overnight stay, DBB as a Xmas gift, visited here in March Bit of a strange access road in but you arrive to lovely grounds, room was fantastic, corridors well decorated, and we had a lovely dinner too. Dining area is well laid out. In addition to that I also used the swimming pool and leisure facilities which were also of a very high standard

First time at this hotel, however, I'll be back again. The overall experience was great, every member of staff went out of their way to make us feel special. Breakfast, lunch and diner in the restaurant were superb and the staff were very knowledgable about the menu, the chef made a sauce without onions especially for me.

We stayed here to be close to the airport for a noon flight. A 30min + drive, but nice to be out in the country. Apples at the front desk, nice for a quick snack. Rooms fairly posh and well appointed... Breakfast Buffet was wonderful and filling. Service was great. Don't trust Apple Maps, unless you want t a tour of a local neighborhood, to the back fence...

After being seriously let down by another hotel we had booked to stay over while at a family party we walked into reception at the keavil to see if there was any last minute availability, they couldn't have been more helpful. We were quickly checked into a lovely double room with garden views was spotlessly clean and had a super comfy bed with quality linens. We had an amazing breakfast with lots of choice and friendly service. We didn't have the time to use the leisure facilities but they looked great and hopefully we'll have a return visit soon

Had a lovely night here, staff were really nice especially Audrey on reception. Had dinner here also and the food and service was really good. Leisure club has all the facilities that you need I would definitely recommend for a relaxing night away.

Needed to stay over the bridge from Edinburgh and Keavil House fitted the bill. Friendly welcome and the evening meal was superb - freshly prepared to perfection. Charming village location. Shame I didn't have the time to enjoy the leisure facilities.

Stayed here overnight as attending a wedding in another hotel. The foyer and area leading to restaurant seemed to have been refurbished as does the restaurant itself. However, that is where it ends ! Our room was very old fashioned, dark furniture which was chipped and had seen better days , dirty carpets and mattress was very soft. Bathroom had old tiles and discoloured silicone in bath and on floor tiles , dirty plastic cups in bathroom . Toilet was so close to door and provided very little room in bathroom while constant battle not to hit arm off toilet roll holder - whole bathroom is badly designed . Old leaking shower evident. Not hotels fault but we were awoken with the noise of someone being sick - either out of bedroom window or in gardens!! On the positive side great assortment of breakfast choices and my veggie breakfast was superb . Not sure I would want to return unless bedrooms are refurbished!

Treated to lunch from the set menu ,we were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff .The menu was a bit limited with the standard steak pie, fish and chips ,Caesar salad and sea bass the quality was fine but the menu could be tweaked for one or two more adventurous dishes. Nice surroundings but not busy for 1.00pm . We have been before to weddings and they do these very well

Arriving back at Edinburgh airport an expected 1945 and not fancying a 2 hour drive to Northumberland, my wife & I decided we'd stay overnight at Keavil House. We arrived at 2130 (thanks to an hour delay on the flight from Milan), too later for dinner. However, the restaurant staff were outstanding and offered to russle up scampi for my wife and fish for me. Unexpected, but very much appreciated. The hotel has been extended since our last stay, with a really good extension to the restaueant and patio/steps down into the garden. It's really nice, and has made a big difference to the lounge/restaurant area. Our room was large, well fitted out and very comfortable. Breakfast was good, and we checked out having had a really nice stay. It's only a short drive from Edinburgh Airport, much better than the airport hotels charging comparable rates so well worth thinking about if you're looking for somewhere to stay. We'll definitely be back.

Was a good stay but breakfast was recommended by taxi driver at Tesco Cafe in city centre, it was amazing!!!!! Highly recommend, service is great too. Coffee done to perfection We asked for crispy bacon, not an issue dealt with like we asked for skinny milk lol Its a set breakfast but they will swap items you don't like, no problem, no aggro

Well maintained building, attractive gardens, friendly and efficient staff. Lunch was priced at £11 for two courses which seemed very good value. Food was very tasty and well presented. My 97 year old mother-in -law does not normally eat very much and she had three courses which she declared were very nice. The rest of our group enjoyed their food too.

Our visit twice in 10days on our Scotland visit where both so wonderful , with beautiful room both times, breakfast very good . Evening food at the restaurant was good. My son and daughter in law had their wedding reception here in August and it was the most wonderful day. All of the staff made the day a happy, fun occasion and nothing was too much trouble. Morag the wedding planner looked after everyone so well and the whole day ran very smoothly. The meal was excellent, the Mountbatten room looked gorgeous with all the flowers and sashes and was the perfect size for our 90 guests and the change from dining to dancing was smooth and fast. It was a perfect venue, wonderful staff and a perfect happy day. Thank you to everyone who looked after us so well. And the breakfast was superb. I would highly recommend Keavil House for any occasion.

We held our wedding here in July and each aspect of the whole experience was really excellent. The events and reception teams made the process smooth and easy, even accepting telephone payments quite late at night when the office was closed. At no point did I have to accommodate to them, they accommodated to me, which is refreshing. The beauty of the well kept grounds and gardens really added to the special feel of the day and the truly delicious menu, excellent, thoughtful service and attention to detail made us all feel like royalty for a day! The flowers and decoration and DJ were skilled and professional. Nothing was too much trouble for any staff at any point and it was all presided over unobtrusively but effectively by the General Manager whose lead obviously gives an excellent example.

We were staying for My daughters wedding and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left the staff were fantastic . They couldn't do enough for you . Craig the wedding planner was so professional he just made sure everything run so smoothly . The food and service at the meal was first class . Special thanks to Mags the supervisor who went above and beyond any expections . She looked after my elderly father who is almost 94 and made sure he had everything he needed and checked up on him many times throughout the meal . She is a great asset to your team Mant thanks to the reception , restaurant and bar staff for providing such a efficient service . We will definitely be back and will be recommending anyone we know who is going to plan a wedding to look at Keavil Hoise . Thank you for making my daughters wedding such a special day

Cozy hotel with spa facilities and nestled in quiet village, with private great inner yard. Breakfast was good and staff is welcome. But room was so narrow and mattress was so uncomfortable that all relax was lost. And for 4* hotel declared bathrobe has be ready, not be asked and wait.

Booked a wowcher deal earlier on in year , afternoon tea, executive double room, fruit, dinner bed & breakfast. Excellent service and food was delicious . Staff friendly and room was so roomy and comfortable. Did not want to go home as we were getting new heating put in at home and was so cosy . Leisure facility was available heard a lot of good reports Beautiful location and venue hopefully visit again

We booked our wedding here back in June 2017. Up until our wedding on 24/07/18 Craig, our wedding coordinator couldn't have been more helpful and so very professional and beyond our expectations. Every little detail, no matter how small was personal dealt with by Craig or Morag. And there was a few lol. The day couldn't have went any better. All the staff at the hotel are so professional and nothing at all was a problem to any member of staff. The DJ Bill was absolutely amazing to. All the guests at our wedding all said ‘They can't remember the last time they were at a wedding that was so much fun, relaxed, amazing food, drink and the music at night got everyone up dancing. Our 2 kids who are 6yr and 10yr were treated like royalty also, by the end of the day all the staff knew there names. Can't praise this hotel enough, especially Craig and Morag. Will definitely be back. Xxxxx

Enjoyed another stay at this local hotel, our rooms (two adjoining) were immaculate and very well appointed with nice view of the gardens. The spa and pool was enjoyed by all, great place to relax and unwind. Had a very relaxing Afternoon Tea (kids had their own sandwiches prepared) for two with a glass of Prosecco which was very well presented, service was great and enjoyed everything on offer. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a very fine choice of items or special request for omelette, poached eggs etc if desired. Tucked out of the way but very handy for Dunfermline and surrounding area.

My family and myself stayed here Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd July as we were at a friends wedding. We were quite hesitant to stay as we were at a party night at Christmas and it was a disaster, BUT this time you excelled yourselves. We checked in quite late so didn't get a chance to eat in your restaurant. The pool was fantastic both days the staff are great and the pool was immaculate. The rooms were lovely and so big! The doors to the gardens which were a godsend . Breakfast on Saturday was lovely, William was very attentive and a fountain of knowledge, what a lovely man. It was also a really nice touch for your manager Morag to take time out to speak to us at breakfast, she was great, when we phoned reception for anything , and we did, quite a lot, she was very quick to come to our room. Actually all morning and even at the Wedding she was there helping out. We had hoped to see her when we left to thank her for everything but were told she was on later. The wedding itself was brilliant, the staff were great, and the food was out of this world! the male co ordinator was great and also very precise and very attentive! Such a contrast from Christmas! 5 ***** all round !

Loved staying here! Beautiful setting in the countryside, lovely amenities and absolutely the best staff and management!! We even added on extra days at the end of our trip in order to stay there longer and explore more of the local area. Alistair Bruce runs a very nice hotel....actually more of a home away from home. Their haggis and black pudding are delicious too! Our appreciation goes out to all of them for making our first trip to Scotland so memorable and comfortable. Looking forward to going back!

Stayed with my wife and ten year old twins. We have stayed here several times before. The hotel is nice and relaxed with access to an excellent leisure suite. The hotel is located in its own quiet grounds. All the staff were friendly and helpful as always. We had the excellent breakfast each day. The hotel has had a lovely bigger conservatory and terrace built on since our last stay.. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel.

So it's got a long drive and away from the road. The gym is very good for a workout and it has a pool. The staff are friendly and the food was good. The breakfast had a large choice apart not being able to get a tea or coffee. The awful room for the night was extremely poor and shouldn't be used unless for staff. Very very old, the window opens a quarter if you can lift it, difficult to close and lock. Even more disappointing, is the blind which allows lots of light in and appears to be very cheap. There are no curtains at all and the noise in the room is like elephants are on the floor above and below until at least 2am and then start again 5am. Absolutely terrible if you want any sleep. Worse still the doors in the corridor slam and aren't quiet. Absolutely terrible so my best advise is don't stay in any rooms in the old part of the hotel and anywhere near the kitchen, dining room or restaurant as the noise is awful. To add the furniture had broken legs that I had to straighten to keep it up, the lights didn't work, the phone didn't work, mould and dirt in the bathroom and there was a general stale smell. I only give 2 stars for the staff, food and gym and if I could give negatives I would have, the owners should refurbish the rooms or don't sell them as a guest room. Not a good business experience due to lack of sleep.

My husband and I have just had another night away at the keval house hotel and again we weren't disappointed . first of all Sara at reception was so lovely and helpful we got a upgrade to a superior room which was lovely it looked out to the garden . Again the staff were friendly and the food and service was amazing ,the pool was great as always and the sun shone for us we both had a great time away thank you all again .

We stayed here as part of our son & daughter-in-laws wedding package. I can honestly say it was fabulous from the minute we checked in until the minute we checked out. The staff were helpful, friendly & happy. They genuinely couldn't do enough for us all. The location and setting were perfect (& the sun shone all day). Beautiful grounds and surroundings. Large family room, comfortable beds, spotlessly clean. Food was delish! (Will defo return to try out the restaurant). Breakfast was tasty & fresh with plenty of choice. Big thanks to Mags & Craig who were professional, helpful & friendly for helping make it a day to remember.

Friendly staff good food and nice surroundings. The Mackerel starter was a complete joy and the lamb main cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back for business and pleasure.

Stayed here twice on two separate occasions both as a couple. First time we stayed we received an extremely large room with an extra large bed, this was fantastic, could not fault the room one bit. Although the second time we received just a below average sized room which was disappointing as our expectations were already extremely high. Dined in the restaurant once, was extremely expensive and definitely not value for money. Just overpriced pub grub basically. Pool and spa facilities are FANTASTIC, open until 10pm jacuzzi always roasting hot and sauna & steam room fantastic. Pool is a decent size also. Free to use when staying at the hotel and towels provided on request. Hotel location is a bit out of the way although that's the whole idea of a relaxing break with the mrs. Would definitely stay again.

First of all , no lift , the hotel is very clean, I was taken I'll the first night there the manager was very helpful in arranging transport hospital via ambulance. On return ok, The drinks are expensive and as a group of 43 The restaurant could not cope , had to wait a while for the food to arrive. Food not top quality basic. The breakfast is self serve very good. Ordered papers hit and miss if you got one. On site they have a gym swimming pool but is open to locals . Quite busy. The bed sheets were not changed the 5 days we where there , I had blood on my pillow and left at the end of the bed , still not cleaned. Also check your bill , tried to charge for telephone I never used and papers never received. Would I stay again , yes but not with a group. I like to personally thank the manager for his help in getting me to hospital.

The venue was nice and clean. Toilets were spotless to start with but not monitored throughout the day/night. The tables were quite close together so if your at the back of another table its a mission to get out. Drinks were quite pricey also for a hotel quite out of the way. The buffet was lovely and the day guests had said the meal was beautiful. Grounds are lovely for pictures also.

I stayed here for one night with my 10 year old daughter and husband. We were given a very large family room with a separate sofa bed. The decor was a bit tired, but the room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was bright, clean and spacious. We had a nice swim in the pool and soak in the hot tub. The changing rooms needed a clean, but otherwise it was fine. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely. The food was tasty and the service was excellent. I would return again if in the area.

Stayed here for an evening. It was a lovely place. Had lunch on the decking to the rear of the property. It was lovely. Very good value for money. Breakfast was also really nice. Room was very large and spacious and clean. No negatives.

Comfortable hotel at a reasonable price. Restaurant menu Ok good in some areas not so good in others. Mussels were very good I was told. Staff were friendly and eager to please though. Woken up by leaf blower at 8am, although to be fair that could have been a neighbour. Would recommend the superior room at £95 including breakfast very good value.

My daughter held her wedding at Keavil House on 2nd June. What a fabulous day, It is a Country House Hotel, set in the most beautiful gardens. Traditional in style, not a chain, with personal service. We held the wedding in the Elgin Suite with 141 day guests and more in the evening. It is a beautiful room for ceremony and dinner. We had the drinks reception outside in the gardens - just perfect. Craig, the C&B Manager was absolutely fantastic - in the run up and on the day. He co-ordinated all our suppliers when they arrived, and on the day, kept us on track and on time - and calm when last minute nerves kicked in. All of the staff in every department were very friendly, helpful, courteous and efficient. The food was delicious. A huge well done to the kitchen brigade who had to balance timings around the speeches to keep food delicious and fresh. The serving staff, who did a terrific job serving everyone quickly and who turned the room around twice at high speed. The bar staff inside and out. It was commented on that they were brilliant with service and personalities, and guests did not need to wait at the bar. Reception who had to deal with a million questions from us and our guests and who co-ordinated rooms and ensured gifts got to the rooms for guests. The breakfast staff who brought breakfast rolls to the rooms when we were getting ready together. And who provided a plentiful, fresh, varied and delicious breakfast the next day in the breakfast room overlooking the gorgeous gardens. they dealt well with the influx of wedding guests. The housekeeping staff who worked hard to get the rooms ready for our guests. The grounds staff who presented the beautiful gardens immaculately. I could go on and on so as not to leave everyone out. Regretfully, I did not get many of the names, and in truth, every single person contributed to the success of the day. Our guests commented on how great all of the staff were. The support of my daughter on the day was wonderful. All the thoughtful touches. We have had many calls and messages to say what a wonderful wedding it was and how lovely the venue is. We cannot thank Craig, Mags and all the teams at Keavil for such excellent service from beginning to end. I did not meet the GM Alastair, although we may have crossed paths at some point on the day, and he was not on duty when we left. However, he should be proud of the team and the way they operated that day. What fantastic memories we will have. Thank you all very much.

We stayed for two nights and the room was very large, with good storage. Some issues with cleanliness (eg extractor fan furry with dust, spider and web on the light fitting above bed), although we understand they had some staff absences the weekend we stayed, so maybe just a glitch. Staff were very friendly, although served the men in the party first and the outside tables were not cleared and there were Champagne glasses from the earlier wedding on the steps when we arrived for a snack/drink and when we left. Food very good and enjoyed by all. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice.

Myself and (new) husband recently got married in the Keavil house hotel, I personally stayed for 2 nights, I stayed Friday - Saturday with family then Saturday to Sunday with my husband. We also had a family meal on the Friday night. The rooms were perfect, extremely comfy beds, they are to die for (and I'm a fussy sleeper) every staff member I came across were beyond friendly, from when I checked in Liz the receptionist couldn't do any more to make me feel comfy filling me with confidence that she is there for my every need, when we went for breakfast on the Saturday it was very busy but this didn't make us feel any less important. On my wedding day itself I was made to feel exceptionally calm but Alistair (GM) who was looking after our day, on the lead up to my event nothing was too much for Alistair even with the final little changes, the staff members that aided in the running of our wedding kept me calm providing me with little “nuggets” of information- such as lift my dress at waist so I can sit comfy, I was kept informed at each stage and everything ran smoothly and no issues. On the Sunday when we went for breakfast one of the morning breakfast staff - I want to say Connor was exceptional friendly and spent sometime chatting about our wedding and general chit chat. Finally the duty manager - Iren who I first met the Sunday prior to My wedding Who has suggested with the weather being so nice that we considered getting married in the beautiful gardens, this was the best call as it's got so many compliments from our guests and some cracking photos, Iren also took over looking after our wedding in the evening and she was exceptionally bubbly yet kept everything running smoothly and kept us informed at every stage, I then met Iren again on the morning after, she remained bubbly and full of energy and was happy making sure we had all of our items from the wedding. I honestly can't fault this hotel, staff members are amazing, food is lovely and the running of our wedding is beyond excellent.

We had been let down by another hotel ( Esplanade hotel, Dunoon) for our bank holiday weekend Break and had to drive home as no rooms were available anywhere,with it being this particular weekend. I pass the entrance of the Keavil house hotel every day on my way to work and it just sprung to mind on our long drive home.We phoned and it was fully booked on the Saturday but had executive rooms available at a very reasonable price. So we booked it for the Sunday. When we arrived the welcome reception we received was heart warming after the previous days disappointment. I must say the other hotel have done us a vast favour because this establishment was fantastic. They were short staffed as some staff had called in sick( it was the best day of the year so far!!!!) They apologiesed for this but the great thing about this was they kept you informed all the time about any tiny delay with a sincere apology and real professionalism. I was truly impressed the way they battled on with no complaint. The room we received was very spacious and immaculate. The lunch and dinner we had was of a very high standard. We had a fantastic evening and will certainly return to this great find. Sometimes you have to suffer disappointment to discover greatness.

We stayed over on the 26th may for my birthday. All staff friendly and very welcoming. I would have rated higher if we hadn't been forgotten about at dinnerother people were getting served and leaving that came in after us, if it was because they were really busy and they came and apoligised i would have understood but this wasn't the case, total time was over 1 hour and 30 mins for starter and main meal gave up waiting on pudding another 25 mins and it still wasn't out so i cancled, spoke to management I really can't fault the customer service we received from management and would go back hopefully service for dinner would be better and improved. Couldn't fault service at breakfast and food was lovely.

We were only there one night as a birthday treat. Staff all very friendly and welcoming Room was very nice, though to warm, which is an unusual complaint for Scotland, other than open the window, don't know where the heat was coming from. Bed great and comfortable, room had everything you'd need, very clean bathroom, great shower. We had drinks on arrival on the terrace,very nice but I'd check the glasses better the one I had felt sticky, I had it changed & green something on the outside of the milk jug. Evening meal - though the mussels were nice, they were the smallest I've seen,though it was just a starter & I suppose you don't know what's in the shell but tiny. Main meal lovely but I'd suggest more than one small croquet with the lamb dish it and the veg didn't go far, where as the steak pie was a large portion and also delicious. Lovely breakfast great selection Overall we enjoyed our stay and would go back.

The Keavil house is the place to stay in the Dubfermline aerea. Very nice rooms with view to the garden and comfortables beds to enjoy your stay. The staff arranged to replace my date of arrival even if the fare was non refundable. Also the staff is very kind and helpfull. I'll come again this year. Best Regards Guido Bernasconi

This has got to be the best hotel with the best staff I have ever stayed in. From the bar staff to the housekeepers. They are all friendly. I have stayed here a few times and each time it gets better and better.

Hotel is lovely and modern. Room was good size we paid extra for superior room was worth it. Staff where all excellent especially the guy working bar and restaurant didnt catch his name . Just know he's been working there 15 years. Also restaurant supervisor rachael was very professional. Over all food,staff,rooms and atmosphere where great and will definitely be back.

Fantastic evening with excellent service from all the Team & the atmosphere was amazing. Everyone took part in the event and the DJ (Bill Russell) as always entertained us with the usual dance tunes :-)

Another good stay at this friendly well run hotel. Excellent service, good food and a relaxed atmosphere. The dining room has been extended with a terrace added outside. Leisure facilities are good and again the staff are excellent. Handy location near the M90 with easy access to Edinburgh and other areas of Fife.

Well where do I start? 9th time here and never let's you down, from the moment we arrived till we left. Room perfect Rachel and her team excellent felt spoiled by them and a massive thank you to the chef. Breakfast, meeting Etienne is like meeting an old friend and will go that extra mile for you, and as always food and variety is excellent. Had a 2 night break over Easter here. The room was large and had lovely big bed which was very comfortable. We ate both nights in the restaurant and the food was very tastey. On both nights the restaurant was busy but had a nice atmosphere. All the staff had time for you and would stop and have a chat and a smile. The breakfast was self service and had loads of choice from cold meats,cheeses,fruit etc through too full Scottish breakfast ( my favourite was the haggis ). There was two weddings while we were here but there always seemed to plenty of staff to take drinks order. The staff always shine at this hotel on all the occasions we have visited and we will be back again.

Room was excellent, well serviced great quality of products in All the departments. Staff where friendly and efficient in both the hotel and leisure centre. There weddings and 50th Party on the the days we where but you would never had known.

Hi Gorgeous offers treatments, make up, hair ...... everything you could ask for for a wonderful pamper package, or a boon to any bride to be & entourage for the essentials before the wedding. It must be one of the hotel's best kept secrets! Also on site is the gym, pool, jacussi, sauna & steam room .... all fab !

Room was lovely and spacious however it was a long walk from the amenities maybe I felt it more because I was suffering from a bad knee. The food was disappointing I have stayed at a lot of these hotels and usually enjoy the food however this time I had a taste less steak pie and breakfast was serve yourself and there was only cold scrambled eggs

Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely spacious room with great range of toiletries and good selection of tea-coffee . Dinner in restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced. All staff excellent and would highly recommend

This is a quiet wee retreat on the outskirts of Dunfermline, but with a lively kick of vibrance. First trip a couple of months ago, a gift. The Manager invited us back for more and we were only too happy to accept. Well it's our Wedding Anniversary; why not. Alistair's team are simply the best. Warm reception on arrival, and the most modern and fully equipped bedrooms overlooking the grounds. Comfy bed, lots of toiletries, bathrobes &a slippers too - feel like Royalty .. staff are so willing to please, so polite and helpful. The Manager from the restaurant, Rachel, is so nice, and with her team they ensure your taste buds get a run for the money - food and service is tops! Both breakfast & dinner; never disappointed ?? Relaxing - from sitting on their terrace with a bottle of bubbly, to watching and listening to the wedding guests have a ball. A place with life, but also tranquility- who could ask for more. We took a walk around the grounds and woodland, then a short drive into town where there is lots to do. Alistair and team.. we are still with you tonight, and we will come back again, and again.. thank you. Charlie.

My self, my partner and a few others that we work with stayed here whisky we where working at an exhibition. The staff from the outset where lovely, very friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic everything I had, I loved. The breakfast was great, picking what you want to off the buffet. It all seemed to run very smoothly! The pool was also a nice addition. My partner had something in his eye and the team helped to try and wash it out, extra room key when my partner didn't want to wake me after a long day. Couldn't fault a single thing on out stay. Thank you to the manager and team, for a great stay on a very long and tiring week.

My wife and I had a wonderful weekend at keavil house .I cannot thank the manager and staff for all they done for us . The breakfast is fantastic. There's a great choice for dinner . We hope we can visit again . Rooms are big and beds great . Had a great time in the swimming pool and sauna. The staff are some of the best I've seen . Brilliant Thanks

Two night stay was very good, executive room was spacious with large comfortable bed. Food was good quality, beautifully cooked with a large choice for evening meal and breakfast. Friendly staff were obviously well trained. Although we found it quiet, I imagine that could be different if a large wedding was going on.

This was meant to be a relaxing chill overnight stay for us. The fist thing we spotted when coming into car park was a wedding party so we knew that it wouldn't be quiet and how right we were. Don't get me wrong the hotel was good, room clean, only one complaint was the cigarett butts left outside the ground floor rooms in the flower beds. The food was excellent and the staff very attentive but the guest at wedding were a lot to be disired. The banging of the room doors was horrendous no concideration for other guests and it lasted well on into the early hours the guest retiring last being after 3am. We had about an houes sleep all night so we left shattered. Complained when booking out to staff all be it they were very sorry to hear of our sleepless night,there was nothing they could do. I suggested that they fit soft closing hinges on all the room doors to solve the noise problems. Reading back on some of the complaints in the past this is not a new problem.We also suggest that if you are going to book a weekend stay at this hotel you call before hand to see if any weeding are being held that day as it will be noisey at night.......

Stayed in the hotel on a deal for £109 dinner b @b which was fab! On arrival very friendly receptionist explained everything to us. Room was very tired old and very corporate. Immaculately clean though. Very cold window wide open and net curtains hanging off the rails which was dissapointing but i fixed it easily enough. However once i closed window i didn't realise i needed a key to open it and it wasnt there. ( didn't notice this until morning when it was very warm) managed to catch a cleaner who was very apologetic! Room heated up well. Huge bed lovley selection of pillows which i loved! Had scones and coffee in lounge which were very nice but didnt seem fresh..lovley all the same! Went to leisure centre for the afternoon which we loved! The guy on reception wasnt very informative but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Sauna pool jacuzzi ect practically to ourselves. Very relaxing! Just what we needed for a very rare night off from kids! There were some kids in pool with parents who i have to say were beautifully behaved! Loved every minute of it. We dressed for dinner and enjoyed a delicious meal and wine. Couldnt fault anything. Beautiful restaurant and staff very friendly. Had a good night sleep..bed a tad hard but cant please everyone. Breakfast was again delicious. For a buffet everything was so fresh and hot. Staff again very pleasant. Really enjoyed my stay but felt room very corporate. Wish id known about upgrade with garden doirs ect..nobody offered us this and we were unaware of it i just read it on here and happened to notice the room being cleaned opposite us and it looked a bit better. All in all great value for money and staff all lovley. Definitely worth it and leisure centre fab. Maybe a spa break would be something to consider as a treatment or 2 would have went down a treat ! I did try and book some but therapist was full is obviously very busy. Will look forward to returning but would prefer to upgrade so it was a bit more romantic and not so corporate. Thanks again for a lovley stay.

We had our wedding here yesterday and we cannot thank Kevin and his team highly enough. From the minute I walked through the with my bridal party until we left this morning. Nothing was too much for them. Everything ran smoothly, Kevin talked us through absolutely everything. All staff were very professional and friendly even when my brother on law fell ill, they provided a room for him to lie down in. So many comments from guests about the food and the service. Once again, thank you all so much for going above and beyond ????

Good quality and excellent staff, restaurant had good quality food at good value, the overall hotel is well worth a visit both for business or leisure. Plenty of free parking and good leisure facilities, little touches like free coffee on departure were excellent

We stayed many years ago on our Honeymoon and loved it so much that we decided to stay as a stop gap on our way to scatter my late Fathers ashes in Nairn. Check in was nice & welcoming. Family room had ample space though looked a little tired and dated with worn furniture and stains on carpet. The room was cold and we found the radiators were not working. We reported the problem and was told that the duty manager was in a meeting and would sort the problem once finished. The guests in the above room were very noisy, children running back & forth across the room. We reported this also, Reception said they could not ask the guests to be quiet and only had 2 family rooms so could not move us unless it was into an executive room but DM was still in a meeting so could not do anything anyway. Despite the noise at 9;15pm we tried to get some sleep, this is when the DM finally came to check if the heating was OK (4 hours after reporting the problem), we were in bed, fortunately the chain was across the door, as when we didn't answer the door he tried to let himself into the room. When I went to the door he only mentioned the heating and no mention of the noise and changing of rooms. There was also the added noise that came from either a hot water heater or air con unit, whirring noise every 10 mins for a few mins all through the night. We had very little sleep due to the noise of upstairs guests and the whirring. We are very disappointed that they didn't do more for us regarding the noise from upstairs, it was a difficult time for us as it was without the added stress of the noise and hardly any sleep. However the hotel itself, leisure facilities and breakfast were lovely, could not fault them, but when you are staying somewhere and do not get much sleep It's hard to enjoy the nice things. We were also not asked on checkout if we enjoyed our stay yet at our further 2 hotels they both asked on checkout if everything was ok.

Drive from Glasgow to the hotel very easy and arrived in time for the scones and tea after checking in. Paid the extra to the hotel for an upgraded room but it was not so different from our friends room who also had booked the deal but did not go for an upgraded room. I asked the lady at reception who advised the other upgraded rooms were all taken but there were items in the room not included in my friends room. Ok there were the housecoats but no slippers, the toiletries were the same as in my friends room, there were two small bottles of water, biscuits in the tea tray and looked out to a garden so not much of a difference for the extra money but I received a call to say the manager had taken off the extra money I had paid. Very good of him. The hotel is very nice and it was clean and the reception area lovely and I'm sure when the summer is here the grounds will be beautiful. We decided to have soup and sandwiches (took ages for the waiter to take our order, had to go and ask him) and our treat of scones (on the deal) after, but one friend just wanted her scones now. Her 2 scones looked delicious so we were looking forward to them. When we eventually got the waiter to clear the dishes away we then got our scones but nothing like the ones my friend had polished off! One each (instead of the 2 my friend got) but they were totally different, worst scones ever! They seemed to be made up of stale bits of pastry fallen over which made me realise the waiter must not have realised we were all to get the scone deal, and gave our friend the better ones! Anyway we had a good laugh about it all and had a great time and would definitely go back. The meal at night I enjoyed but had to ask twice for mint sauce for the lamb, one friend sent her Thai vegetable curry back to the kitchen as it was just veg on top of watery rice, we were told that the chef said it should not have left the kitchen! Breakfast in the dining room was lovely nice and bright and my two boiled eggs just the way I'd asked for but the porridge was just a runny cream. No Worcester sauce for the tomato juice. Hey I still would go back as really liked the place and if you have a complaint they are only too happy to fix things, but the scones were awful. As for the spa it was great using the pool etc. Staff were all friendly and most were helpful.
