    « Funky Town »

For a stay in the funky town of Dunedin, Florida the Best Western Plus is the place to be. Great location and the service as always at the Best Western is outstanding. Having stayed at Best Westerns throughout the United States and Europe, this one is at the top of the list.

Excellent location, excellent staff who were extremely helpful, free delicious breakfast, free parking. We would definitely stay here again. Rooms were clean and appointed nicely. Great view of the harbor.

« Location and room size makes the rating 4/5 »

Location is excellent: next to the water and within walking distance of heritage downtown wit a bunch of unique shops and a variety of good restaurants. The downtown is one block away and easily walkable. Park the car and walk or if you wish to visit some of the other communities, jump on the Jolly Trolley. Seniors are able to use public transportation for 2.50 a day. I recommend seeing tarpon springs. Hotel: older but reasonable. On the water and terrific solitude views outside your back door.our king room is spacious and well equipped with a fridge, microwave, second sink, and refreshment/snack storage. Floors are tiled.bathroom large. Staff: some of the other reviews may, or may not be legitimate. We have not found the staff to be extrovert or outgoing happy, but the have always done their job with us and interacted pleasantly enough when treated politely and respectfully. Pool: well maintained, clear and clean. Allowing me to exercise on a daily basis 13/13, with laps and resistance exercises. Restaurant: Bon Appetite , on the water for great sunsets and views. Seafood menus (for us landlubbers) is extensive and well presented. Must have the Grubber and Stone Crabs. We eat here once a week as it is special.

« POOR PUBLIC RELATIONS, MANAGER IS QUITE RUDE »

STAYED AT THIS HOTEL DUE TO LOCATION WHILE VISITING A FR IEND IN ASSISTED LIVING.STAY DATE 10-21 WITH CHECK OUT 10-25. ON 10-23 could not sit on balcony due to a repairman with a loud saw below my room that never stopped. On the morning of my departure, the repairman woke me up at 8 AM with the saw never stopping right under my room. Not the idea of a great departure feelingI complained to manager on my check out and he had an attitude that you should ha ve complained and move to another room or we could move the repairman. They knew the room where he was working was occupied so why should I- the Customer- have to tell them about the noise. MAKE SURE THE UPGRADES ARE DONE BEFORE STAYING HERE.

    « Construction ruined a nice place »

This is an upscale Best Western. Rooms were very large with nice amenities. Unfortunately, they were doing construction on the hotel with a lot of loud work, including a power saw in the parking lot at 8:15 am. and workers using screw guns on next floor up right over our heads. We decided to cut our trip short and check out. It was only then that we were offered the opportunity to move to the other end of the hotel. Why they didn't offer that when we checked in remains a mystery. Not sure that would have helped. We should have known things would not be good when they were using sledge hammers above the lobby when we arrived. No discount offered and the hotel was very expensive for a Best Western. Also, no breakfast, not even coffee unless you go to the restaurant and pay $$$ for it. Just not a good experience.

« Right on the Marina »

Spent 3 days visiting the Dunedin area and booked this property. They were doing a large amount of room upgrade and the appearance was less than optimal. The room was large and nicely appointed and parking was readily available. I am sure once the work is completed it will look and :fell" better.

« The Best Western Is Old And Dirty »

The rooms and the hotel are very outdated. I paid $ 203.00 for a not so nice room. The parking was not good. The hotel is dirty on the outside. The location is convenient to the quaint town of Dunedin. , and that's what you're paying for is the location. Clearwater is ten minutes away, and you get all the big name hotels there and the beach is beautiful.

    « Great Stay »

Hotel is older, but well kept and clean. Staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. There is a pool - didn't see anyone actually use it. GREAT location. Restaurant was great! Loved the outdoor bar. Love that the hotel is within walking distance of great restaurants and a super walking trail along the bay.

    « Peaceful and quiet »

I'm a repeat visitor to the YH Inn. I keep coming back because I appreciate the location and the layout of the rooms, love the balcony. Its an idyllic spot, quiet and good proximity to services and the town of Dunedin, as well as Clearwater, without the crowds and noise. I'd stay at the YH Inn anyday over those high rise jam packed hotels in Clearwater Beach.

« great place to stay for wedding »

We were at this hotel for our daughter's wedding nearby and it was a very good choice!! The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. The location was perfect and we really enjoyed the town!! There was plenty to do.The view was spectacular! The Bon Appetit restauants was fabulous!! It was so nice having our reception there. I would definitely recommend this very nice hotel!!

    3
    « high school reunion »

The room was clean. I think the price was high for what was offered. There was no coffee or continental breakfast of any kind. the staff was not that friendly when asked about directions or information on the transportation available. I feel the room was very small for the price of the room.

« Sill Good but Showing Its Age »

Every year we stay here while in Dunedin. The hotel is undergoing some changes (adding a breakfast room where they did not offer their own breakfast before - not ready yet, maybe by the Spring of 2017). In the meanwhile, rates have jumped and while they formerly offered vouchers for breakfast at the restaurant next door, these have been dropped, effectively further increasing rates. Pigeons are a problem - they roost in the overhead rafters and leave their mark - so watch your step and your head. The rooms are still comfortable, large and offer all the amenities. Age is becoming an issue - it looks its 40 years old.

« First time guest. Not disappointed! »

Spectacular location with multiple water views. Easy walking distance to wide variety of food and bar options. Convenient to beaches and attractions. Newly renovated rooms with vary attractive and comfortable decor. Furnishing are new. Only negative comment would be the lack of door seals/sweeps at the base of the rooms doors. Easy fix and may have been overlooked during ongoing renovation.

    5
    « Fabulous Room, View & Atmosphere »

The rooms are spacious, clean & well-planned. The hotel is on a marina with great views and is within short walking distance of fantastic, local shopping/dining/entertainment. This hotel is an absolute must if you are planning a trip in this area.

« This review is for pleasure by couples and family. »

The hotel provided a swimming pool that could be enjoyed by children and adults. It is large enough to swim laps. There are bicycles to rent. The out door bar with tables made it pleasant to sit by the waterfront and enjoy the scenery.

    « Nice place within a marina »

We visited the area and stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The facility has an outstanding restaurant adjacent to the hotel with outstanding food and nice Tiki Bar. I would recommend this for anyone visiting this area.

    « AWESOME GULFVIEW HOTEL »

Hotel is located near downtown Dunedin and in walking distance to several restaurants. Love the view of the marina. You will be highly impressed with this property starting at the lobby with check in. The rooms are very comfortable and colorful... Microwave & refrigerator came in handy.

    3
    « Excellent location »

Bathroom needs updates, no exhaust vent in bathroom. Room door very hard to open/close, some light switches not working. Beautiful location, very quiet & friendly area. Beautiful views of bay from room. We would stay there again, even with the flaws.

    « Great relaxing weekend »

We enjoyed the comfort, view from both sides of St. Joseph sound and how clean the rooms were. And the walk to downtown was a plus. Just love Dunedin and all that it offers. Dunedin is our get a way 2 or 3 times a year. The food at the Bon Appetite was fabulous and service was 5 star in our books. You can't go wrong staying at the Best Western Plus Yacht Harbor Inn. I recommend it to all.

    5
    « Perfect Dunedin Location »

Great location with a pier, water on both sides and a gourmet restaurant next to the hotel. Beautiful sunsets. Spacious rooms with balconies. Easy walking distance to numerous Dunedin restaurants and shops. Check out the artwork by Bill Renc at his art shop. Short distance to Honeymoon Island, Caladesi Beach --one of the top 10 beaches in some in some past rankings by Mr. Beach-- and the Sponge Docks of Tarpon Springs. All can be reached by the Jolly Trolley-- although to reach Caladesi Beach you will then need to take the shuttle boat.

    « BAYVIEW COMFORT »

You can't beat the view and location of this BW! Bayview Sunsets out the front door of your room and view of the marina off your patio/balcony. Bright Florida décor, comfy beds and a nice wet bar area in the room, nice large bathroom also. Walk from the hotel property to the quaint downtown shops and cafes of Dunedin and please don't miss the Painted Fish Art Gallery! You are also so close to Honeymoon Island and Tarpon Springs is just 9 miles to the North! Can't wait to go back for another get away!

    « Great marina hotel »

Hotel is adjacent to a municipal marina. Dunedin is a quaint little town with breweries and restaurants and close to beaches by boat or car. Hotel room was very nice with high ceilings and dog friendly. Really enjoyed our stay.

« Wonderful in so many ways »

Hello Alexandra - we really wanted to thank your staff for being so caring when we were unexpectedly in need of a room. We got home from a trip to find electrical work incomplete and power off. Prior to moving to Dunedin - we stayed at the hotel a few times and liked the clean and spacious rooms. As we are now Dunedin residents - we always recommend the hotel as the location, amenities and vibe are unbeatable. For my clients looking for a home in Dunedin - this spot is perfect and pet-friendly. We now have fully come to appreciate the great service. Just the other day as we took a walk around town - we came across one of your groundskeepers who was very pleasant to chat with. He had a lot of pride in keeping the grounds nice and neat. Things like this and the young lady from the front desk being so pleasant are telling of the great culture your facility must have. This hotel sits at a marina, has its own wonderful restaurant and bar, and is tied right into Downtown Dunedin which has quickly become a destination in and of itself. A quick spin gets you to the world famous beaches of Clearwater Beach and Honeymoon Island. It really is a great deal for all that you get.

    « Experience beach resort »

Good location. Clean rooms but they have it set up so everything costs. They have a coffee pot but you have to pay $1 for the little coffee cup inserts. The refrigerator is full of candy, pop, etc. but you have to bag it up and set it aside and then put it back when you leave. Check out is not as easy as most BW's. I couldn't get get late check out on both rooms and I had to find out after 7am if I could do that. I did get 1 room for late checkout. Don't pay for a voucher to eat at the restaurant. It costs $7.50 and children are charged $4.50 for a bowl of cereal. The front desk has a good staff. I was told I would have rooms by the pool but when I got there I was told there was renovations and it would be too noisy. I had ask about a suite when I made the reservations and they said the suites were on the second floor. No suites by the pool. They put me on the second floor and when I ask about suites, she just said my rooms were larger rooms than regular rooms. I again ask about suites and she just said I have larger rooms.

« Nicely Located Hotel, Skip the Balcony Room »

The hotel is in a great location, directly on the marina with Edgewater Park and all the Main Street shops within EASY walking distance. We booked a Balcony room with a water view and were very disappointed. The room was very nice, quite large and nicely furnished. The balcony looked over the parking lot and no view of the water. However the entrance to our room, did look over the water, so we took the chairs from the balcony and spent our time outside our room door, enjoying the view. The staff was very friendly and you can purchase breakfast vouchers for Bon Appetit restaurant which was excellent. We would stay here again, just not in a balcony water view room.

    4
« A bit expensive but worth it »

Very nice room (single King), second floor, water on one side and marina on the other. Very nicely appointed, spacious and pleasantly decorated room. A private balcony on the marina side, walkway with benches on the water side. Has those numerous small pillows that seem to be popular nowadays. Friendly staff and good nearby eats. Overall a very pleasant and comfortable hotel. Just a bit pricey for my typical preference. And the traffic can be brutal everywhere around here.

    2
    « Great setting, and that's all »

This is an aging property on a spectacular site that has the Dunedin Marina on one side of the room and the open waters of St. Joseph Sound on the other. Everything else about this hotel is outdated and poorly designed for a modern hotel experience. Next time I would stay at one of the other quality chain hotels nearby and enjoy the waterfront at public parks, which are plentiful in the area.

    5
« On the water with Marina »

We had a wonderful stay. We moored our boat at the marina next door and visited Caldesi and Honeymoon Islands. Cafe Alfresco and the ice cream shop are a short walk. Quaint down town Dunedin is safe and clean atmosphere. We plan to make this an annual trip.

« Great location and value »

Great location, great service, great value. It's not an upscale hotel, but all was very clean. Comfortable bed. Clean tile floors. Bathroom was quite small and hot. A/C has digital thermostat, but its a wall unit. So the bathroom gets really hot. Staff is really friendly and accommodating. Location is awesome, walking distance to everything in downtown Dunedin. And the view is either the ocean / bay or the marina. No breakfast onsite, it's offered next door at Bon appetit. And we were disappointed there is no free coffee in the morning. You can purchase a kurig cup for $1.00. Overall I would definitely recommend though.

    « relaxing hotel »

The staff was very friendly at check in. , The beds are very comfortable. bathrooms very clean and updated. great bar area in the room. Love the private balcony on the 2nd level. Great view of the bay.

« Slightly pricey but slightly above average »

We stayed in the King size Whirlpool (Jacuzzi) room. it was next to a maintenance closet and ice machine so at times there was a bit of noise, however it wasn't bothersome enough or frequent enough to complain about. My two complaints were that when I called to have a broken light fixed, no one ever showed up to fix it. I used a lamp from elsewhere in the room and figured when they cleaned the room they would see the lamp sitting there and fix the problem but they didn't. The other complaint was that after spending as much as we did 400$ for two nights we still had to pay for breakfast. Most hotels offer free breakfast. It was slightly overpriced for that room given breakfast wasn't free but the room was nice and clean, everything else was enjoyable. I would stay there again but maybe try to reserve in advance to save some money. The whirlpool was great, plenty of space in the room, the view wasn't the best but I wasn't there for the view anyway. Overall I would give it an 8 out of 10. No major issues that I needed to complain about.

    2
    « Nothing special »

Booked this hotel online as part of our honeymoon trip and well we were left a bit disappointed. Firstly we had paid slightly more to select a bay view only to be told that there is no such thing when we arrived and they do not know why the website says that- maybe this issue should be addressed to stop giving guests the wrong impression and charging them extra for something they can not have. Half the car park is over taken by the hotel next door at the weekend which is strange as you would think guests staying at the hotel would have priority. The room was quite dated and again the website had lead us to believe differently. Storm Colin hut on the second night of our stay and by the third night our hotel room floor was soaking with rain coming through the windows as the storm gathered strength. We didn't bother complaining as we were due to check out and the lady on reception hadn't been helpful so far or friendly for that matter, so just put some towels down to soak up. This hotel would be fine for a short one night stop over but that is about it.

    « One of the better BW's »

We stayed at this BW because of the close proximity to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, our main purpose for this trip. The rooms were very clean with some modern updates and fixtures, the beds and pillows were very comfortable and the staff were friendly and eager to help. With luggage and other belongings for 2 adults and 2 children, we did find the room to be a bit cramped and there was nowhere but a small shelf above the toilet to put anything in the bathroom. Other than that and the fact there were no blackout shades on the windows, it was a good place to stay. The back door onto the common walkway was definitely a plus because it led to the most beautiful view. The pool was one of the best we've seen within the BW chain and was clean with restrooms located within the fenced in area. The grandchildren also enjoyed the hot tub which was located a bit away from the pool which afforded some privacy. We are BW platinum members and try to use this chain if at all possible. We did find this location to be a bit pricier than most, especially since they do not offer the free breakfast ans one of their amenities, but enjoyed staying away from the crowded Clearwater area. If we are in the this area again, we would certainly consider staying here if we could reserve one of the larger rooms. Not a bad stay and would definitely rcommend it!

    4
« The Dunedin Yacht Harbor Inn »

BEST WESTERN PLUS Yacht Harbor Inn at 150 Marina Plaza in Dunedin was ideal lodging in lieu of the Clearwater Beach Holiday Inn, which have previously enjoyed but did not have the accommodations we sought for our 2015 summer vacation. The staff was quite pleasant and helpful. The attached Bon Appetit Restaurant was great. The location was excellent for all we wanted to do. And, the price was right.

    3
    « Over priced »

This property was overpriced based on location. Having stayed in 8 Best Western properties in the past 3 months this property was near the bottom in the condition of the room. Yet the rate for this property was by a wide margin the most expensive. Also, due to the upper windows in the room not being covered with any drapes, curtains or even tinting, it was so bright in the room at night that I could read a newspaper. Not what I expect when trying to sleep. I had high hopes for this stay, but the property did not deliver. However the staff was very helpful.

    3
« Generic and needs a major upgrade, but the restaurant was fine »

Stayed for a wedding in Dunedin as guests of the bride.Still dont know why we were charged double; management is clueless.Rooms are old and in need of renovation..Bon Apetit restaurant there was great though.Had reception there as well as breakfast.Excellent.Located at the marina there, great location in a quaint and unspoiled town.Enjoyable overall.

    « Dunedin BW »

Great place to stay and relax after a hard days work. Close to downtown restaurants and entertainment. everything is within walking distance. Nice bay view and when there is a breeze you can open the back door and let the fresh air in. no need of AC, yes this is in Florida.

    1
« DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!! »

The room smelled like a sewer. The dog in the next room barked all day, day after day. The tub did not drain well. There was no parking available in the parking lot due to the adjoining restaurant. Very noisy large condo being constructed next door. My granddaughter cut open her foot on a piece of metal coming out of the floor. The Hotel Manager should be fired!!!!!!!

« Great location, great hotel, parking is a problem »

This is the best located hotel in Dunedin - easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, the trolley stop, a pier and a park. Rooms were cheerful and clean, service was excellent. We did not have a problem with the marina lights at night as some other reviewers have stated - the louvered shutters on the windows were sufficient for keeping the light out. The Bon Appetit restaurant was good - perhaps too good, because on the weekend the small parking lot is clogged with restaurant patrons. It's difficult to find a place to park if you return in the Saturday evening hours.

    5
    « Another great stay! »

I have stayed at this hotel many times when visiting my family in florida. It is always so pleasant from check in to the wonderful views from the rooms- staff- food-bar. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a very nice experience in Dunedin. You can also walk into town from the hotel which is a plus.

    5
« Best Pet Friendly Hotel »

Love the fact that this hotel allows you to bring your pet along for the vacation. Terrific location at the marina and across from the park. Hotel is within walking distance to numerous restaurants and outdoor activities -- including the Pinellas Trail. Perfect!

« Best Place to Stay-Best Western Yacht Harbor Inn Dunedin »

We feel like family at the Best Western Yacht Harbor Inn in Dunedin. Everything about the experience is wonderful. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when in town. The views are spectacular, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is always pleasant and helpful and the restaurant is top notch. There are so many interesting places to visit that are within walking distance.of the hotel.

    5
    « What A GEM! »

Pleasantly surprised to find this gem at the last minute! We are traveling with our fur babies and it's not always this easy to find a property RIGHT when/where you need it! The staff was awesome and informative. The room clean and spacious, with decor to lift your mood after a long drive! Bed comfy and room quiet. Wifi connection wicked fast too! No matter how you book your room, do not forget to follow up with a call, to ensure they have the specific pet rooms available.

    3
    « Best Western Dunedin »

Great location to downtown. Good value. Construction next door will awake you before 7 AM during the weekdays. Front desk staff lack any sort of customer service, flat out rude.. I do realize it's Florida, but we encountered cockroaches in our bathroom every night and outside in the halls.

    5
    « Dunedin's Best »

We live locally but once or twice a year we look forward to staying here to enjoy the waterfront and downtown Dunedin events. Hotel Manager and staff, and renovated suites are finest you will find anywhere!

    5
« Great place to stay »

Great decision to stay in the 2 bedroom suite. Great staff, and the food was fantastic. We'll be planning our next vacation next March here. The sunset was spectacular. The pool was very clean. I travel a lot for business, and usually have a hard time sleeping in hotels, but the beds were great, and had no issues falling a sleep.

« Friendly staff (Christina) and clean and within walking distance to shops and restaurants »

This hotel is older but has been remodeled tastefully. We had a double queen and the room was quite large with a desk, chair, an easy chair with a sink and frig in the room. We had a balcony which was nice. I have only one complaint of this hotel and that is the lights from outside reflect off the cathedral ceiling at night. For those of us who like darkness when we sleep that can be a problem. The hotel is very close of shops and restaurants and the children enjoyed the pool when we would return from Honeymoon Island or shopping. Christina, who work at the front desk is very helpful and knowledgeable of the area.

    5
« Great stay in Dunedin »

The room to my surprise was awesome - it had a vaulted ceiling! The extra large size was perfect. Next time I go to Dunedin I will stay at the Best Western. You can tell by the other guest this place is very pet friendly.

« Perfect location for boaters! »

After reading some of the reviews, I was concerned. But, we loved our 4 day stay here! Staff were friendly and helpful. Our deluxe room was clean, roomy, and air conditioner cold! This is the perfect location for anyone bringing a boat, as the Dunedin Marina is right next door. Restaurants are walking distance and Dunedin is a laid back town. If you want to go to the beach, Honeymoon Island is the best. We will definitely be back.

    5
    « Great Stay. »

We spent three night at the BW Yacht Harbor Inn. The property was extremely clean, our room was ample (222) and it was a very positive experience. We preferred the view on the flip side of the room - in the wide corridor where the door is located. We used a bench and the chairs from the balcony and sat outside with our beverages. We saw pelicans, jumping fish and dolphins. We never used the balcony.

    5
    « Perfect Wedding Destination »

We visited the Best Western Yacht Harbor Inn, Dunedin for my sister's wedding. What a wonderful experience! We traveled with a large group, and Best Western was very accommodating. The guest rooms have a tropical flair, and are designed for long term stays - very comfortable, spacious and plenty of storage. Forget something? Don't fret, rooms are supplied with many complimentary items and the fridges are stocked with snacks and drinks for a fee. We had a beautiful room overlooking the bay. We were lucky enough to see dolphins and a manatee. Bring your binoculars-plenty of wildlife and birds to view. The two-bedroom bridal suite is the perfect gathering place for family and friends with a spacious living area, kitchenette, and two bathrooms. There are many on site amenities, but we only used a few. Bon Appetite served a delicious breakfast, and the pool was a great place to gather for games and to relax. One morning, we rented bikes on property, and got to ride the Pinellas Trails. The hotel is perfectly located, and an easy drive from Tampa Airport. There are so many things to do in Dunedin, most within walking distance. Plenty of restaurants, shops, and events. Beaches in the area are some of the most beautiful! Plan on returning!

    « Relaxing »

Relaxing and enjoyable. Met all of our expectations. Great location on the Gulf Coast. Short trip to Honeymoon State Park and beach. Staff was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend to friends and others. It is also pet friendly and our lab enjoyed it as much as we did.

« They put a Hold on your Money! »

First off I've stayed at 5 star hotels that don't take out your room total till you arrive just in case you want to put on another card or dare to pay Cash...not here the morning of even before we arrived the whole amount was taken from my credit card..not only that they run your card again and put a 100.00 hold in case you buy a 2.00 candy bar or water!! Then when I arrived home I checked my account and the 100.00 is pending..I called the hotels front desk and was told it will take up to 5 days depending on my bank for the 100.00 to release! This is insane especially that the room was not even worth the 173.00 I paid ...The most I would pay is 120 and that's being nice ...the water pressure in the shower is pathetic..and there's pigeon feces all over the walkway and stairs!! Book at Casa del Sol that hotel was so much better..

    4
    « Great location »

I would give this a 5 for value and cleanliness, however, there are a couple of issues that lower my rating to a 4. First, the soundproofing is inadequate. We could hear our neighbors and their children late into the night. Thank goodness our air conditioning unit was noisy to drown them out. Second, the pool looked lovely but since it is so hot here, we wanted to be in the shade to sit at it. Unfortunately there are no umbrellas or other shady places to sit there.

    3
    « Good Place »

Stayed here with my wife for a week. Great location on the water and walking distance to downtown Dunedin. We had a deluxe King on the 2nd floor with a microwave, fridge and private balcony. Staff, housekeeping, bedding and room size were all very good. Hotel is clean but is just a little tired...older bathrooms, need to slam doors to close, older noisy AC units. If you want coffee in the morning I suggest walking to town...coffee at hotel restaurant was expensive and not good. Pool was refreshing and had ample space, chairs and umbrellas (you just need to ask for them), again just a little tired. I got a great weekly rate and would definitely stay again. It was also convenient having the Old Bay Cafe and Bon Appetite bars and restaurants close by and they also rent bikes right at the hotel.

    « Beautiful scenery! »

The room was very clean but old. It's in a beautiful area therefore the prices ok but higher than I would regularly pay for an ok room. The beds were extremely comfortable. Our son was married at the Bon Appetit so convenience was terrific.

Best place to stay in the area. Walking distance to Dunedin, Great location to experience sunsets, take walks and enjoy the nearby park and marina. Staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful answering our question to plan activities.

    « Extremely clean »

Everything about this hotel was great, the welcoming staff, the absolutely clean room, the nice staff at the house keeping, the patio on both sides of the room (our room was on the ground floor), ... If we really have to complain: It would have been nice to have an in-room safe. There are safes in the reception area (in their office) but it would have been more convenient to have one in the room. The pool could be better maintained. It was very nice to have the possibility to choose if we wanted to sit on the front patio and do some people/car-watching or on the back side with water views. The hotel is situated just beside a yacht harbor (hence the name of the hotel). The surroundings are nice and you can take long walks. We highly recommend this hotel!

Hotel is awesome! In the sense of the size and view it truly makes you feel like your at home. My girlfriend and I loved what the hotel had to offer from the view, restaurant, gym, pool, biking, staff, and its location as well you can easily enjoy the view of the sunset and sunrise . I'm glad that yet again I see how great the Best Western brand is. From one property to another thank you for letting me stay at your wonderful property! Hope to be back soon and enjoy it again

« Ruined last day of vacation... no manager on site »

Pay the extra and stay elsewhere! So many reasons. Steep concrete stairs to room, no elevator. Should ask if I (senior) want a first floor! No "Pluses" breakfast or otherwise. Very windy. Water pipe break, toilet tank overflowed and flooded bathroom... we turned toilet water off, no one available. Staff seem annoyed at everything at front desk, check in and out, changed credit card because original was compromised during our trip and was met with "Ugh"... Asked for refund for last night due to 6 hour water outage then waited additional 1.5 hours for warm water... ruined last days vacation. No manager on site, would never return message at check out, multiple phone calls or emails. All in all do not feel this was representative of a hotel that anyone would want to stay at and feel appreciated or safe.

    « A Gem in Dunedin Florida »

Clean, updated roomy hotel , wonderful adjoining restaurant with an outside bar with a live musician. I believe this would be enjoyed most by adults. Hotel is located at a small marina just outside of Downtown Dunedin, with it's local shops and eateries. Just a few miles from Caledesi Island and Honeymoon Island,,,,a state park. Honeymoon is located at the tip of Dunedin causeway, with white sand beach and NO hotels,,very nice change. Enjoy Marina view from your balcony.

« Awful service however great hotel and location »

Booked 6 nights with balcony, got there room smelt of damp And was musty, and had an enclosed balcony, went back to reception not there problem as I booked through booking.com, was downgraded on the first night, and was told manager ( actually assistant manager Adam would be there in the morning ,, he wasn't ,, however met a lovely lady on reception Freyda, who moved our room overlooking the gulf , Finally met Adam asst manager who again explained not their fault and couldn't give me a rebate on the first night because of booking.com., so gave me a 7.50 breakfast voucher for myself and my wife Next housekeeping didn't bother to make or change the bed sheets for 2 days, when complained (again) Paula head of housekeeping.came and changed the bed sheets , pizza boxes left outside our room( not the hotels fault and Freyda again sorted it) Complained to Best Western head office, be aware they have NOTHING to do with the hotel , they only use the name and brand that's it, HO have no authority to deal with anything and are/ were extremely condescending and rude, I finally lost it 4 days in Adam was on day off, Freyda called him, and his words, deal with it,,,, Eventually I found out that the actual,manager/owner was away for 3 weeks in Austria and Adam had no authority to do anything, I insisted they call the owner, at which stage Freyda had been sending texts to Adam , who eventually gave in to my request of first night comp, So in a nutshell Hotel room 225 lovely ( red sauna lights a bit strange in the bathroom though ) FREYDA amazing, she should be in charge , the rest of the staff forget it, rude, obnoxious, and should not work in the service industry , you complain at this hotel , and you end up feeling like you should apologise Adam people come to your hotel to relax and enjoy , stop blaming outside influences, it's not our issue, you mess up you sort simple,,,and learn to apologise l reading some of the negative responses on here, most were about attitude , To the owners, you will read this or not, and do nothing about it, Duneaden is a beautiful town , you could be the stars of the show, but choose not to be, This is another guest you have lost , your rates do not reflect your service, 233 dollars per night for shoddy unprofessional service you will be found out one day To the CEO of Best Western if you want to go back to the floor, go back to this one, you will truly lose your hair, There is a B and B close by called Meranova , it looks amazing, a bit like Poet DHiver on Melbourne, Before you stop here shop around folks, 1 other in Clearwater East Shores again an amazing place

« Excellent accommodations, great location, fantastic town. »

A very comfortable hotel extremely well situated on the Marina Plaza. My room was a two King on the second floor facing the marina. The whole property was well maintained, clean and the staff was committed to providing excellent service. The attached Bon Appetit restaurant was warm, welcoming and offered a diverse menu. The breakfast was very good too. I stayed there for five nights and was totally pleased with everything about the place. I would highly recommend it to friends and family, and I will definitely be staying there again.

    « Enjoyable »

Really clean rooms, staff very friendly. The sunset at the pier was beautiful. The parking was terrible. The onsite restaurant takes 80% of the parking, they do valet for you but that's not handy. The rooms have a-frame ceiling and the sun and security lights at night shine in. The room is never dark. The front desk do offer sleep mask if you ask.

    5
    « Great Stay - Great Location! »

I truly enjoyed staying at this property and I hope to go back again and experience the bar and restaurant. What a great place to watch the Sunset! The view is fantastic, the shared balcony and individual patio was great!

    « Clean crisp & a little different »

Stayed here for my sister's birthday. It was a really cute room - tropical looking with shutters . Big room with a view of the room. It was very clean. Had a nice closet so we didn't have our stuff laying all over. Mini fridge had plenty of space. They gave us vouchers for the Bona petit restaurant breakfast next door. It was a limited menu but had a nice view of the water. The staff was very nice & let us look at a room before we booked. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the rooms don't actually overlook the water. You can sit outside on a long conjoined balcony or you have your own balcony that overlooks the pool. Just the way this place was built many years ago. You can walk to downtown Dunedin which has lots of shops & restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

    « Pretty location »

Great staff, clean rooms, king bed was very comfortable, however the pillows were not. I expected the bed pillows to be of king size, to match the bed. They are very small and mine were a bit lumpy. They looked funny and out of place on the king bed. The AC worked great, room fridge comes with drinks and snacks for purchase,,, the staff will remove those items so you can put your own items in the fridge. Bring a room darkening sleep mask with you, the room is well lit up at night from outside lighting, no curtains,, window had slat blinds that light came through. Next time, we will get second floor room, the people above us walked all night and thumped and bumped . Bathroom is small, nice tub/shower and heat lamp for drying off. Good thick towels, which may not be important to some people , but it is to me. Nice views of water, marina and dock for viewing sunsets, you can fish there too. Easy walking to shops in downtown, hotel has heated pool, and you can rent bicycle surreys! Enjoyed our visit and will return!

« Great location on the water, breakfast coupons for purchase ($7.50), avoid rooms by the pool »

Stayed three nights. When we checked in, we were assigned rooms on the East side of the hotel ("pool rooms"). But the pool access was across the parking lot, and these rooms have no view of the water. Price is the same as the water view rooms. Not good. We asked to be moved to water view and were moved, but not until we had been given rooms that were already booked. Very confusing. We were assigned a decent room on the second floor. We don't need a completely dark room. If you do, avoid the upper level since ambient light from the marina and parking lot does shine into the room from above. They have an arrangement with the Bon Appetit restaurant (at the west end of the marina/pier) for breakfast where you present the voucher (it costs $7.50) for a full breakfast. Excellent food. As an aside, we had dinner at the restaurant one night and the food was good.

Nice staff, great breakfast and a few blocks from Downtown Dunedin. very relaxing place reminds us of the Keys. A very good value considering it is the best location in Dunedin. Would highly recommend.

« Great location but very disappointing room »

The hotel is in a great location at the marina and the rooms have private balconies which is lovely. It is an easy walk to downtown where there are some great restaurants and boutique shops. Unfortunately we were not impressed with the room itself. The door to the room was so swollen it was almost impossible to open and close without assistance. The toilet cistern was broken when we arrived and although a maintenance person was able to fix it eventually I cannot believe that the cleaners didn't actually notice there was a problem. We had 2 queen beds, however 1 of them had a number of broken springs and they were ridiculously loud - especially in the middle of the night - so if you rolled over in bed you were likely to wake the family! It was crazy! Finally the rooms were very small and cramped - especially the bathrooms. I have never given a review like this before so I spoke to reception first in an attempt to be fair with my comments but they honestly couldn't care less.

    4
    « Beautiful location »

We absolutely loved that we had a water view on each side of our room (we chose a Bay View room). It was peaceful, and our room was beachy, which I loved. Dunedin is a beautiful town. If you love the ocean and are looking for a good deal, this is your place.

    3
    « at odds »

BW has a great policy - but I booked thru Booking.com which wasn't able to cancel my reservation. Hotel did not offer a breakfast which is pretty standard with BW unless you paid extra. No FREE coffee or tea in lobby which was small. Rooms were adequate - great bathrooms, but shutters were in disrepair - leaving us with gaps.

    5
    « Excellent Hotel »

This hotel is older but very nicely updated. Room had vaulted ceiling and balcony and was very large. Wish we could have stayed longer! harbor views were spectacular and shops in downtown Dunedin were adorable, especially Key West Boutique. Highly recommend this hotel, was reasonably priced for being on the waterfront and marina with plenty of activities near by. Restaurant was excellent as well!

    4
    « Very nice »

This is a very nice hotel. Location is right on the water with beautiful views. Downtown Dunedin is walking distance and provides plenty of food choices and shopping. Also a nice on site restaurant. The staff was helpful, but I can see why others say they weren't friendly enough. I'll certainly stay here again.

    4
« Great Location, Expensive, Some Issues »

Located on the water with beautiful views. Room was a bit small for 2 queen beds but decorated nicely. Not very clean (my feet got dirty walking barefoot on the tile.) Good wifi and breakfast. Glad they had business center with computers and printers. Toilet was not working properly. Most frustrating, though, was the parking situation. When we returned each night there was no place to park as the valet parking for the restaurant took up all the spaces. They should have spaces designated for hotel guests. This was a trip with a large group - they stayed at another less expensive hotel with a group rate. We opted to pay a great deal more for the location, which it right on the water near the end of Main Street Dunedin. We will be back next year for the same event, I'm not sure the location and amenities were worth the cost (which was over triple the cost of the group rate at another hotel.)

    2
« Snobery at its height! »

Overpriced by far and not only snobbish to the height in its best costumed subtlety, but lacking in any civil courtesies! These comments do not apply to the associated restaurant. They were fantastic not only in the obvious customer-orientation of the staff but the quality of the site, cleanliness, food quality and taste as well as price. The hotel on the other hand, was the exact opposite. From the snobbish blonde receptionist at checkin to the AM checkout staff. No offers of any help or information on anything-even when questions were asked!. I would discourage anyone from booking at this site - unless you enjoy being treated as scum!

« Room very spacious, clean and up to date »

Our family made a last minute trip to Florida for spring break, and scheduled too late to find a hotel on the beach. I ended up booking two rooms, side by side, at this Best Western Plus - one for us and one for our teenage children. I was afraid my kids would be disappointed we were not on the beach, but they really enjoyed the hotel. They liked the pool and hot tub and even used the exercise room (complained a bit about it being too small). We made daily trips to nearby beaches, and really enjoyed Caledesi Island. We had some great meals at the restaurants in Dunedin, and were so glad we could just easily walk to them for dinner each night. We also used the breakfast vouchers at the restaurant on the property. Though it would have been faster and easier for our crew to just do a typical breakfast buffet, we did enjoy the sit-down breakfasts served to us each morning. The rooms themselves were really large and looked as though they had been recently updated. The bathrooms were beautiful and clean. The door to our room was from the outside (like a motel), and the room also had a door opening onto a balcony. We left both doors open most of the time to get a breeze going across the room, and it felt wonderful. (Don't know how well this would work in the summertime though).

    « Fun and sun »

Great hotel. Very unique rooms with each room having two entrances. One overlooking st Joseph's sound the other the Dunedin marina FANTASTIC. Very quite at night ,walking distance to many great restaurants and bars and everything delightful Dunedin has to offer. On site restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner. Great stay will be back??

    3
    « Nice Place »

We had a very nice time at this location, except for our final night there. The restaurant is exceptional, rooms spacious and clean (although a bit outdated), and the staff friendly. However, we had the misfortune of being surrounded by loud, late night partiers who kept the noise level obnoxious and loud for almost all the night. No apparent attempt by management to put an end to disturbances to other guests.

    4
« Top notch with a few exeption »

Upscale hotel that charges to much for small snack bags left in refrigerator is a bit tacky. Whats next, a 10 dollar mint on my pillow much to my surprise and dismay? Hotel adjacent to would class restaurant on the same property, but has no standing agreement to provide room service for meals. Aside from the above rather bazaar idiosyncrasies, This hotel approach's a class act place.

« Well-Located Lodging Choice in Dunedin, FL »

We have stayed several times at this location which is at the marina in Dunedin. Rooms are good-sized with either a patio or balcony and two doors--one on the patio/balcony side and one directly on the water. Staff here has also been very prompt in handling any problems, e.g., this year they fixed a bathroom sink problem very quickly. We always opt for the lodging plan including breakfast which consists of several entrees at the on-property Bon Apetit restaurant. They offer a pool and a complimentary newspaper each day.

    4
    « Charming Dunedin »

Better than average BW property. Views terrific, spacious room and pretty modernized. A bit awkward if you want to make a coffee in your room and you have to walk 5 mins to buy milk? What's that all about? Reception needs to be a little friendlier, way to frosty for such a charming town. I would visit again and although a tad overpriced, it's a pretty good harbour side venue.

    3
    « Nice Location »

Stayed for one night - the hotel is fine - a little old but clean and functional. No real bells and whistles. Nice pool area. The only oddity (which cant be fixed at this point) is the hotel seems backwards to me - with big windows and balconies facing the parking lot - when the other direction has no windows but has some great views from the walkway - seems really odd it was built this way.

« Wonderful place to stay and for bird watching! »

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms, pool and free breakfast at the Bon Appetit restaurant were wonderful. We also really liked having happy hour there as well as the many restaurants which are all in walking distance. The only drawback was our room was right next to the restaurant and seemed to have very early deliveries every morning with the backup alarms on the trucks waking us up. I would choose the building near the pool next time.

    5
    « Charming setting »

If you like to sit on a lovely patio near the water and enjoy a libation of liquid or food type this is the place for you. The adjoinIng restaurant Bon Appetite restaurant and bar is one of the finest restaurants in Dunedin and your breakfast is included with room rate. A full breakfast if you wish not a continental that is usually the extent of complimentary breakfasts. The rooms are bright and clean and if on first floor you also have a lovely patio. Location excellent to town and stadium

« Great place for business or vacation. »

The hotel is right on the water and all of the rooms have great views. The rooms are large with terrific views of the intercostal out the back door and Maria out the front windows, old style Inn with relatively clean rooms and little sitting verandas, and a big restaurant at the end over the water where we had our Sunday Brunch Banquet, what a fantastic job of that they did!!!... The hotel location is handy to both the quaint Dunedin downtown and the Marina. Lots of walking if toward the ends of the hotel rooms. 2 floors with an elevator but very small, out door windy corridors upstairs, hope for no rain.

« Best location in Dunedin »

We stayed for three nights in two different rooms. Our first room had views of the Marina from the balcony and the coast from the door. It had two big doubles, small fridge and microwave. We arrived exhausted and slept about 12 hours the first night. Breakfast was included at the fab Bon Appetite restaurant each morning. We also rented two peddle bikes for a half day. We were easy walking distance to the Florida Auto Exchange Stadium to buy Blue Jays tickets. We were minutes from the Pinellas Trail. We were minutes from the downtown. We fell in love with Dunedin's local businesses, restaurants, trails, seaside, marine birds and the general pace. It was not tacky touristy at all. We arrived in March which is peak season. We paid quite a lot for a fairly standard room, but that would have been the case at any hotel here. At least we had the location and services to more or less justify the costs. With breakfast another included perk was a parking pass. We hardly moved the vehicle at all. We really enjoyed our stay. We found the staff to be helpful, dedicated and hard-working people. The rooms had tile floors, which made the room feel very clean compare to carpet or even hardwood hotel rooms. The only negative thing I could mention was the back of our raised sink in the first room. I found a few forgotten shards of mushroom and plastic from a previous guest. Otherwise, pretty darn close to a perfect stay. For the best view, I recommend a second floor room, numbers 210 to about 224.

This is great hotel for an extended stay in Florida. All hotel facilities were excellent including gourmet dining at Bon Appetit restaurant. Central location for visiting all Tampa & Clearwater attractions. Beautiful water views from hotel and lots of local wildlife sightings including dolphins, osprey, cormorants, pelicans, egrets and herons. Town of Dunedin in walking distance and had good restaurants and nightlife especially "The Living Room". Be sure to spend a day in Tarpon Springs & visit cathedral & take short boat ride with sponge diver & eat at Dimitri's.

« Relaxing Stay in Dunedin »

My husband and I stayed for 3 days in late February and found Dunedin to be a very relaxing and friendly little town. We stayed in room 214 which had a nice view of the water. The hotel is older but well maintained and up to date for the most part. Linens were clean and newish and there was a small fridge stocked with snacks. The room had a balcony with a small table and 2 chairs -- the lock on that door didn't work so well and there was no chain or deadbolt on it. Also there was no safe, deadbolt for the entry door, or lock for the bathroom window which opened to the outdoors with no screen. It seemed a bit unsafe at first but the area is so quaint the owners must feel the precautions are unnecessary. The price was OK for the accommodations but don't expect luxury. Clean, updated and friendly though. We walked down to the dock and enjoyed the view and the birds and spent some time in town where everyone was very friendly but the stores all close by 6 pm -- even during the "busy season". Even most of the restaurants close by 9 or so. Not much to do in the evening so that's something to keep in mind when planning your stay. All in all it was a pleasant stay and relaxing for mature people. Younger adults and children may get a bit bored as there is no real entertainment or night life that we found.

    « Beautiful, convenient Lodging »

My husband and I visited March 1. Check in was perfect, they had our key and information printed out 1/2 hour before check in. The room was large and lovely. Our room had a balcony. The location is an EASY walk to the quaint shops on Main Street Dunedin. Also, the local drivers were polite and patient...they actually stop when you are waiting to cross in the walkways. I gave our hotel 4 out of 5 stars because the breakfast voucher was confusing...we ate breakfast and could have saved a bunch by buying the voucher at the front desk before going to the restaurant. We also turned in our room billing form to the front desk concerning the items we took from the room fridge...we were billed twice because I guess housekeeping also turned in that same information.

Very quiet, steps away from beautiful downtown Dunedin where you can find lots of small but great restaurants and a bit of shopping. Hotel was clean, room large with great WiFi. Stayed here for a long weekend family getaway to Dunedin. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff super friendly. Breakfast excellent! The outdoor bar scene at night is fun and lively. We pulled our boat down and brought the kayaks. It also has pet friendly rooms, so we brought our dogs. Loved this quaint little town!

    « Poor »

Room had a horrible odor. There was never any staff around to be of any type of assistance. Breakfast was outrageously expensive and portions were small. They even charged additional $3.00 for a glass of milk. There was construction going on next door that started at 7am.

    « Fun and Touristy!! »

Fun, quaint location in the heart of Downtown Dunedin, with lots of shops, restaurants within walking distance. Not the place to stay if you want to be right on the Beach; hence the name "Yacht Harbor Inn." Bike Trail and rentals; very busy. Rooms are nice but windows don't face the harbor. Whirlpool suite is very large, bright and airy. Nice bathrooms.

    4
    « For the money...it's very good! »

Bed - comfortable with nice linens, extra pillows and blankets. Room - clean, large, vaulted ceilings, cold tile floors, lousy doors that you have to slam to close, bathroom heat lamp that would not stay on due to faulty switch Location - walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Odd parking due to building being constructed next door. Overall it is not our usual choice of accommodations but for a fun family in law weekend it fit the bill.

Right on the Gulf and within walking distance to town. Expensive to stay , no coffee in the lobby or breakfast included. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. « Last hotel in Florida »

I love this hotel, it has fantastic views and the rooms were nice. This was sadly our last night in Florida before we flew home. I wish we had spent a few more days in Dunedin as this was a great hotel. If you have some spare time a drive out to the Silvermoon drive in movie theatre is well worth it!!

    « Just ok »

We spent one night at this hotel. We were not too impressed with the front desk service and at first we almost left. The first room they gave us was on the bottom floor, pretty much right on the parking lot. Very small and not family friendly. We changed the room to one on the second floor which was bigger and had a balcony, however it was very noisy and it was very hard to sleep, as the room had a huge window next to the ceiling with no shades on (the lights from the parking lot pretty much make the entire room really bright at night). There are some good options for food around the hotel and the hotel has an outside bar as well as a pretty good restaurant with a nice view of the bay. Dunedin is also a cute little town with a beautiful side walk along the bay.

    5
« Beautiful scenic view with relaxing rooms »

From the first step into our room...all we could say was WOW!!! Beautiful, relaxing, just breathtaking. The preview pics they have on their site is exactly what the area looks like. We enjoyed siting on our balcony watching the large variety of birds, the yachts and boats coming in/out of the harbor. Took a stroll down to the fishing dock to have an upclose look at the variety of birds and the boats. The Bon Appetit Waterfront Restaurant next door has delicious food, and large variety of drinks with live band.

    3
    « Great Location »

Built in the 60's the building definitely has the older style hotel look & layout. Two floors of rooms with views of the marina or bay. Our room on the second floor had a poor view of the marina. The walkway to our door had nice views of the bay. The room was spacious, clean & renovated. The mini bar with microwave & refrigerator were nice features. The room had large windows with lots of light but at night was difficult to sleep due to the A frame style roof with open glass above the shutter covered windows. The bathroom was decent size with one sink & a shower tub combination. Free wifi & breakfast was included. The breakfast was served at the restaurant on site & offered a limited menu of a few options. The service was friendly but unfortunately not always the most accurate with our orders. Bike rentals on premises for $10 hour which was a fun way to enjoy the city. Free parking. Walking distance to main street shops & restaurants. Friendly & helpful hotel staff.

GREAT rooms, clean and comfortable...great location right on the water. The outside bar is always a great place to sit and enjoy a few drinks and Ken the bartender is awesome. Only downside was the morning breakfast. We received 2 free and bought 2 additional and I will never eat there again. Food was bland but the service was poor. Not welcoming, uncomfortable and just unresponsive. My service rating is for everyone other than the breakfast service. They were the only downside

The location is perfect being so close to downtown Dunedin, which is within walking distance. We stayed here New Years Eve because we were going to a show at one of the local bars. I feel it is overpriced for the amenities and room quality. It was clean and included breakfast at the restaurant next door. The front desk staff was very friendly.

« Great location in a great city »

Dunedin is a wonderful small walking city with loads of charm. The hotel is in a small marina within walking distance to all that Dunedin has to offer. Excellent for couples seeking a getaway. The hotel rooms are large with a sink in the room and a small fridge.

    « Spectacular Place to Spend N Y E »

We spent NYE at the Best Western Plus. Lunch at nearby bar, dinner at local Italian restaurant, raucous Trolley ride from Dunedin to Clearwater Beach to see fireworks. Our room at B W was huge, nice bathroom separated from sleeping area (unusual and big plus), friendly and very helpful Front Desk staff, convenient to all shops and eating establishments. Rented bikes from BW and took long ride along the bike trails. Excellent hotel in an excellent location. We booked next year's room when we checked out!

    « Christmas & biking »

Our second Christmas and bike trip in Dunedin and at this hotel. It is perfectly located on the bay, walking distance to the village and bike trail. The staff is very good. The hotel is older (plumbing and windows), but very nicely renovated and very comfortable. The attached restaurant is very festive for the holiday.

    « Awesome »

GREAT place to stay and I will definitely be back. One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in and LOVE the location - can walk everywhere. If they just had monthly rates, I would stay for a month or 2. Loved being right on the intercoastal waterway and also really enjoyed Bon Appetit for happy hour (note that it ends at 5 which is odd for happy hour time) but great atmosphere and food I have no complaints - just wish I could've stayed longer I will definitely be back!!

Been staying at the Yacht Harbor Inn for the past 5 years every February. The location is great, walk through the quaint town of Dunedin. The rooms are EXCEPTIONALLY clean, roomy and the staff is OUTSTANDING. Would rather stay HERE than anywhere else in the Clearwater area.....

Awesome location and reasonably priced. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. Historic Dunedin within walking distance across the street. Overall wonderful experience and am looking forward to our next visit.

    « roomy with a view »

Loved the large clean room with great view from the back! Our front door faced the parking lot and marina and the back door open up to the bay view! Super location, you can walk everywhere. Dunedin may be small but there is plenty to keep you busy! The hotel was a little noisy as the parking lot is right out your door, but not too bad. Be sure to have a cocktail at sunset (happy hour!).

    « Disappointing »

very disappointing this hotel had issues as it could have been a nice visit. pool unheated, heater broken, no one seemed to care. telephone message light flashing constantly, no messages there to collect, engineer never came to fix, sink drain gurgled in middle of the night and then wouldn't drain when I was brushing my teeth.

« pool was ice water »

ok, due to location, but pool heater did not work while I was there which left me very disappointed as I live in Michigan and wanted to sun and swim for the weekend. The coffee machine in lobby $, that you pay for did not work, due to electrical problems, refrigerator did not work needed to be swapped, Staff was friendly, but I have a feeling these issues are ongoing.

    « Great location »

Great location next to the water but also in walking distance to the wonderful shops and restaurants. The hotel has everything to offer with a mini kitchenette included! The room was very clean and comfortable. The back door opens to the water where you can sit out in the shade. The restaurant Bon Appetite next door offers all meals and has an outside bar area for later in the day or evening. We would definitely stay there again.

« Nice room with cold pool »

We loved the location on the water. One of the reasons I choose hotels is that they have a pool that I can use. Everything was great until I found out that they had not yet heated the pool making it unusable. Why in the middle of december is the pool not heated. What a big disappointment. Breakfast was great even though it was not complimentary as it is in other best westerns i have been in. Walking distance to downtown was a great advantage. Sorry wont stay here again because of lack of pool. might as well empty it.

« Old Florida Feel but With All the Modern Updates »

Spent lots of time visiting Nana in Florida during the summers of1960's -70's - surprised to find a little of old Florida still around there in Dunedin and hotel reminded me of the hotels we had stayed at. This hotel is a great place to spend a 3 day weekend - the little town is a 5 min walk away and the beaches of Honeymoon Island State Park are a close car drive away. Hotel room was very big and very clean and quiet/private - restaurant over the water was pleasant and breakfasts were tasty. Construction of a condo is happening right now near the entrance so this may be disruptive but if you are looking for a private getaway, a place to take the dog and explore a small Florida town that time forgot, this is your place. Nice home base to explore this whole Gulf area.

« GREAT LOCATION, COMFORTABLE ROOM, AND GREAT FRONT DESK STAFF »

The location of this hotel was perfect. You can walk to the downtown area to many restaurants and shops. There is a running trail nearby. Situated right on the marina, it offers great views of the water, which i appreciate. Our breakfast came with our room and it was perfect The restaurant is that you eat breakfast at is a well known restaurant within the town and serves great food with a wonderful view of the water. I was visiting because my dad was in the hospital there, and this was a very relaxing place to be.

« Who Let The Dogs Out?? »

The room was very nice and clean with beautiful décor. We were there for a 3 night stay and the second night there was a dog barking and whining all evening long. The front desk attempted to reach the people from that room but they were there for a wedding at that location and they did not answer their cell or return the call from the message that was left. Front desk offered to move to another room for that night but we would have had to move back to original room on the third night as that room was booked. We choice not to move as it would have meant staying in a different room each night we were there which would have been a HUGE pain for our family. The front desk people were nice and tried to help us but.... We enjoyed the hotel except for this one evening with the darn barking dog. Not only did he bark, it sounded as if he was scratching at the dog to get out. VERY annoying!! It would be nicer if pet friendly rooms were kept in one area, away form non pet room. This may have been better. I will give careful consideration before staying in a hotel that allows pets from now on..

    « Very nice! »

My dad was having his work holiday party at the restaurant at the hotel and invited my husband, daughter and I to come with so we got the 2 bedroom suite. It was very spacious and nice! There was a big master bedroom with a bathroom inside it with a garden tub. The bed was very comfortable and we slept great! There was a second bedroom and bathroom as well. There was a big living room area with a small kitchenette with a fridge, coffee maker, sink and a table to eat at. The room had a view of the water, but it was from across the parking lot so it wasn't the greatest view. The room had a really cool beachy vibe and was in a great location, within walking distance to all sorts of neat shops and bars. I would definitely stay again!

« Best Western PLUS Yacht Harbor Inn, Dunedin »

Stayed at the Yacht Harbor Inn for 8 days over Thanksgiving. Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Great location for walking to restaurants and downtown Dunedin. Convenient for driving to shops and beaches. Safe area for walking around. We were sorry to miss the lighted boat parade, but some of the boats had started to decorate before we left, and they were very pretty.

« Great Place to Stay »

We like this this Best Western in Dunedin. It is nicely located with a view of water from all rooms, a yacht harbor with pier to enjoy a morning stroll and it is within a block of the quaint downtown area of Dunedin with it's many shops and restaurants. It also has a lovely waterfront restaurant attached to it. We always stay here when visiting family in the area.

Fun trip to South Florida for MLB spring training. Great time of Year to relax and take in a handful of teams and games around the Dunedin area. I suggest booking lodging early as the Town fills up quick. Nice shopping and plenty of gift shops to browse.

    « pissed off »

I am a platinum rewards member and have stayed here before. I made a reservation about a week ahead of time and specifically asked for a room on the bottom floor as close to the restaurant as possible. I also added an extra night's stay at the cost of close to $150.00. I drove for 6 hours to get to the motel and was told the room would be ready at 3 pm... it wasn't and the desk personal did not seem to care. When I got my room they put me in the room that was the farthest from the restaurant and refused to move me to the area where I had requested to be . I have serious back problems and recovering from hip replacement. This morning at 7:00 the construction crews working about 100 feet from my room woke me up with the usual noise from a construction site. I am sure this will go on all freeking day !! This trip is ruined and I probably have $300.00 or more wasted on this motel..... I will not be back as these folks do not even attempt to accommodate their guests. Keep in mind I am a platinum rewards member which should get preferential treatment.........what a bunch of jerks

    « Some good,some not »

Nice place, very good location. Web site doesn't show the layout of the hotel well. Not really any views from rooms, but nice view from the property. Good breakfast if you buy the package. Front desk staff needs a little work. The manager Adam is great , but Sylvia needs some help . She seemed very stressed. Rooms are really great and clean.

    « A wonderful surprise »

Our room, on the second floor had yacht side views from inside the cabanna-like decor. Our door opened up to the bay side, so views were wonderful all around. A very comfortable hotel. Dunedin is a charming little town that obviously benefits from careful planning. The Panellas Bike Trail runs right through the middle and wonderful bike rides can be enjoyed, either north to Tarpon Springs (11 miles) or south to Clearwater. Breakfast was available for a fee ($7.50) but well worth it as it is served in the beautiful Bon Apetite Restaurant.

« Hotel in a Great Town with Beautiful Views »

If you are staying in Dunedin, FL then this is the perfect hotel. It is within 2 blocks of this lovely town, an easy walk to all of the high points in it. The hotel has been updated and is clean, bright & cheerful with great views of the Intercoastal Waterway & the town's Marina. The adjacent (but separately owned) restaurant serves a good breakfast (best Eggs Benedict I've ever had) lunch & dinner with fabulous views of the water.

« I Would Not Recommend This Hotel »

We just had a pretty bad experience with this hotel. The website and our confirmation clearly says the rooms have patios or balconies. Our room had neither, nor did it have a view, except for a brick wall. They were no help at the hotel, either, claiming to be completely booked for the entire week we were there. Their website also did not mention the large condo building currently under construction directly next door to the hotel. The aerial photo you see is misleading, the rooms look like they all face the water, but they do not. There is a walkway on that side and you can see the water when you go in and out of your room, but you also get an overpowering sewer stench with it. And, once you close your door, no more view. When you get there, the lobby smells like Fabuloso was poured all over the floor & I have a feeling that is to mask the sewer stench coming off the water. The other side of the hotel, your view is of a parking lot, actually two parking lots, the hotel's and the marina's. You can see sailboat masts sticking up over the parking lot, but not a view of the marina. I'm not sure where your room would have to be to have any kind of view of the water. Maybe all the way at the end by the restaurant you could see it. I did hear other people inquire if they could have a room that had a view of something. The restaurant at the end does have nice water views. I will give them that. The pool would be a nice pool in any other location. Even if there wasn't condo building construction going on right next to it, with banging and sawing and all of that, it would not be a peaceful location. There are trucks backing in and out of the marina and restaurant parking lot all day, ice cream trucks playing their music, car alarms going off, the hotel power washing something in the parking lot, maids wheeling laundry out to this shed where they do their laundry (in the pool area), horns, sirens, you name it. It is loud all day long. In addition to our room having no balcony and no view, we were right next to the maids' storage closet that they work out of all day long. So, starting at about 7:30 in the morning every day, if the construction banging and sawing didn't wake us up, the maids talking outside our door and banging around in their room did. We had a maid cart of some sort permanently parked outside of our door. And, the average time they'd make up our room would be about 2pm. They do have a nice location near town & their WiFi did work well, but it was not a comfortable stay and I would not recommend this hotel. They shouldn't advertise balconies and then give you a room without one and they should put notice that there will be loud construction noise from 7:30 am until 3pm every day.

« Wheelchair accessible room is a major disappointment. »

The one wheelchair accessible room has a bathroom that is ridiculous. I felt like I had gone back in time many, many years. The toilet is hard to access because it is in between two walls that does not allow much maneuvering. An AB person had to sit at an angle on the toilet due to the walls and the bar that stuck out of the wall. The shower bench that is provided is very small. The center of gravity must be low which is not likely for most adults. Great location but very disappointed since this is a chain. Staff had nothing but excuses.

    « Pet Friendly »

Floor was dirty, had to clean ourselves, Was oily substance all over granite and tile surfaces, If you opened back door, there was awful odor from dead crabs and black muck at water edge, (counted 3 dead horseshoe crabs), black bugs flying everywhere, several got in room. Dead bug on ceiling over bed, heated pool was cold. Was overcharged for pets & told overcharge would be sent back to us in about a week. Was delayed departure while they inspected room. 3 star rating too high for this hotel

« Ideal place to stay in Dunedin! »

This hotel is bright and cheerful, and the staff extremely courteous and efficient. It is located on Dunedin's waterfront, with a restaurant adjacent that serves wonderful breakfasts, with complimentary breakfast for hotel guests. The restaurant also has excellent cuisine for lunch and dinner and one can dine outdoors on the waterfront, including a great view of the sunset. The swimming pool is larger than average hotel pools--it is outdoors. Location is ideal.

« Very convenient to downtown. Staff extremely nice! »

Loved that the hotel was within walking distance to all shops. Love all the eclectic shops and "watering holes"! We even brought our bikes up and hopped on the Pinellas Trail. Great place for the sunset, too. Loved the whirlpool bath in room after long day of walking and biking. Ok, now the downside...a/c was right next to the bed. Froze. Slats on the window shutters do not stay closed. We had to prop pillows against them to keep them closed. Didn't have a view from room windows. Had to go out door to see view. Really enjoyed our stay. Housekeeping always cheerful and friendly.

« Nice hotel in Dunedin »

This hotel has a great location within walking distance to everything in downtown Dunedin, while still being off the main drag and with scenic views of the water. The rooms were nicely appointed, love that they had tile instead of carpet! It makes the room feel so much cleaner. I was surprised by how much attention was paid to the hotel bathroom, the tile work, sink, and other fixtures were quite nice. It was strange that there were no windows or balconies to the prettiest side of the motel, but there was an access door from our room to the walkway. There were a few minor issues, but all in all it was a great stay. I would definitely stay here again next time we were in Dunedin.

« Great location, too noisy »

I usually start my reviews with the positives, but this motel's negative is a big one: noise. Don't stay here if you were planning on resting, relaxing, or sleeping. The motel is right next to an outdoor bar that blasts Caribbean music until closing time. That's not this motel's fault, but the ownership here could do a lot more to help their guests have a restful time. The doors and doorjambs are so warped that all of the noise gets into the room, like the bar is right next to your bed. I've never stayed in a place with worse soundproofing. The rooms here also connect, and the doors between the rooms are even thinner and more warped than the doors outside. If your neighbor is watching TV at a reasonable level, it sounds like he broke into your room and turned your TV on. It's a shame, because this motel's location is perfect. It's steps to quaint downtown Dunedin, and each room has a view of the Intercoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico, with a shaded seating area on the water. The rooms were also recently renovated at what looks like considerable expense, but the workmanship is pretty shoddy. Whenever we turned on our shower, the faucet and shower head would wobble in and out of the wall like it was about to break, and the aforementioned doors are so warped it's hard to close them. In short, if you're looking for a clean motel with a great location and you weren't planning on getting much sleep, this is the place for you. If you like to relax, I wouldn't recommend it.

Excellent place to stay while attending a high school 45th reunion. Room and room service was excellent and the staff was pleasant. The restaurant is excellent and the service is good. « Great Location if Visiting Dunedin »

Right downtown and convenient. Restaurant was excellent and the town is picturesque. Only complaint was that there are no convenience stores anywhere within walking distance. Makes you feel the town's only objective is to force you into a restaurant, even if you only want something you could fix in your room.
