    « great stay »

stayed here for the Ireland v Australia game. hotel is in a great location short taxi ride to town or our case the Aviva. Room was lovely it had everything we needed. The staff are an asset to the hotel very friendly. We had lunch in the bar which was great value and delicious. I had called that morning of a possibility of an early check in as my partner was flying in early, the receptionist and Housekeeping staff were very helpful and made it possible which was very much appreciated. We had a great stay here in the Skylon wouldn't hesitate in recommending here as a Base if your staying in Dublin.

    « Top class »

Really lovely hotel. Everyone very helpful and accomdating, food was amazing. The rooms where really nice and warm plus very comfortable. The meeting room we used was super and the staff on the day sorted out any small issue that arose. Highly recommend.

    « Not bad »

I chose this hotel simply because it had free parking. It's a short drive away from Dublin centre. But it's on a bus route so no real problems. The room was large and clean. And it has free WIFI. The hotel restaurant is next to the entrance. And clove to reception. On entering the building I was hit by a fishy smell. This was obviously what was being cooked. But it was a bit offensive. I didn't use the hotel restaurant. Step outside and cross the road. There are several places to eat, and a few pubs. I went to the cat and cage. Nice steak and a couple of pints for about 20euro. No complaints about the hotel , and for business it's ideally located.

« this is the place to stay in Dublin. excellent service »

    « Chaotic breakfast service. »

Nice hotel but the breakfast service is not up to standard. I would not post a review for a single poor service occasion, but for it to happen 3 out of 4 days deserves a mention. First morning 9:30 am - not shown to a table. We sat and waited an indecent length of time with no service being offered. A person on an adjacent table who had arrived before us eventually stood and started waving her hands over her head to get some attention. On the second morning I ordered salmon and scrambled eggs from the menu. I was served salmon only. After querying the 'egg situation' the waitress returned with a pot of cold scrambled egg with a developing film on it. It practically bounced across the table it was served with such disrespectful abandon. The overall demeanour of the young lady was that she did not want to be there. There was similar lack of attention on the third morning. Bizarrely on the fourth morning we were received at the restaurant door by'Monica'. She dutifully explained how the room was organised and where to go for cereal etc. This was the first time this had happened. It was a pity to have to point out to her that we had been there for four days so had worked it all out. She lead us to a table and promptly took a hot drink order. First time in 4 days!

    « Great Stay »

Myself and my partners family stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate her college graduation. From the get go this hotel and its staff were absolutely amazing. The girl who checked us in was very nice and then the room we were given was great. Beds very comfy and a packet of Keoghs crisps everyday with Ballygowan water was complimentary. The hotels parking was free and the pints of Smithwicks in the bar went down a treat. Also had a few cheeky cocktails which were great. Had lunch in the bar for the 3 nights and the food was DEVINE. Overall had an amazing stay and will definitely be staying again before the Xmas to get some shopping done. 5 stars!!! Stayed Thurs 17th to Sun 20th.

« Good bus connection to the city center and to the airport »

I stayd three nights in Skylon because of an international meeting in Doublin. The hotel has very good Irish breakfast and our group had also a lunch and two dinners in the hotel. I can recommend the Irish kitchen and specially the apple pie. My flight to Dublin was early morning - I took the bus number 16 from the airport, which has a stop just on the other side of the hotel. I had to wait a while my room to be cleaned and a friendly woman in the reception brought me in my waiting time tea and scounces. I appreciated it very much. I also got my room before 2 pm. The hotel has a big seminar room so it is possible and comfortable to organize meetings in this hotel. The wifi is free and works well. Becouse of early flight back I got from the reception a breakfast paggage with me. It is good to know that before 7am the bus 16 to the airport goes only every half an hour. I took a taxi and it was 16 euro. I recommend this hotel.

    « I wish there was a 10 star option!! »

Had an amazing time in Dublin and one of the highlights was this comfortable hotel! We stayed as a group of 3 and upon arrival the staff at reception were very friendly and accommodating, clear instructions were provided and we found our room with no issues. Of course when we entered we went straight to the beds (why some sheets are ruffled in the photo) and we were so pleased to find that they were as comfortable as they looked! We were also delighted with the packet of crisps in the room for us, the entire room was so clean and warm. I will definitely return here if I'm in Dublin without a doubt! A taxi fare is quite low aswell in to the city centre and as you are a bit out of the town you don't have to listen to traffic during the night. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful and piping hot, the staff were very helpful too. I wish there was a 10 star rating I could give as this hotel really deserves it! Thanks again to them all.

    « Fabulous hotel »

This hotel never disappoints, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is an excellent selection for breakfast with the option of both hot and cold food. The staff were excellent at breakfast and the elderly manager Mr Fitzpatrick looked after us really well. The new bar is amazing, the service was very efficient and their is a nice variety on the menu. Will definitely stay again.

« Fabulous hotel in a fabulous city »

First time in Dublin, a surprise for my 60th birthday. Hotel was spotless , tastefully decorated , comfortable, eexcellent bar an grill, food amazing and very reasonably priced. Rooms were excellent with tea , coffee facilities, biscuits, water an crisps restored every day. Comfortable beds an well stocked toiletries in bathroom. The staff were exceptional especially Elizabeth who went out of her way to help us enjoy our stay. Met the owners Tara and Shea , lovely friendly couple who could not do enough for us , birthday prosecco on the house ., a gesture that was unexpected but greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for an amazing stay, I will be recommending it to everyone I know who is thinking of visiting Dublin. Isabel xx

« Great Hotel, close to City Center »

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days just after Halloween for a convention going on in Dublin. I haven't stayed very often in many hotels, so I wasn't sure what to expect with this. The lobby is very warm and inviting, with lots of chairs and tables for guests to sit at and eat the food from the grill, and gives a very welcoming atmosphere. The room was very cosy, very clean. It has a great amount of amenities, with a kettle and Nespresso coffee machine, hair dryer and ironing board. We were also given free crisps and bottles of water to welcome us to the room. The room was spotless and cleaned on a daily basis, the housekeeping also fulfilled or requests for more coffee capsules, milk and tea, which they were generous with. The hotel itself is situated a 20 minute walk away, or 5 minute drive, from the city center, so it is easy to get to via Bus and Taxi. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel with a regular service to the town, as well as the airport, so travel was no problem at all. Great hotel, and I plan to stay again in the future.

    « Lovely hotel »

Stayed here for two nights at the start of November, lovely hotel staff very helpful, rooms clean and comfortable. Had drinks in the bar it had a lovely atmosphere. Only downfall is that the Car park is very small.

    4
    « Disappointing car park »

Very impressed with the up-graded decor in the bar area allowing more space for diners at their tables and at the bar. Food excellent and staff equally efficient and friendly. Theres a good selection from which to choose and is reasonably priced. Location ideal to city centre, and airport with bus stops close by. Location directly on a main road so at peak times can be noisy. Car parking is only down side. Limited spaces at front of hotel and likewise to the rere. The down ramp to car park is the same one used to come back up again. Parking is very limited and a lot were reserved and as there is no alternative exit from the underground it doesn't make for comfortable driving. A car parked on the down/up ramp didn't help either.

    « Exceeded expectations »

The modest appearance of this hotel belies a stylish and comfortable entrance lounge with restaurant and bar to hand. The staff were extremely helpful in allowing us to view two types of rooms as we were confused over the Booking.Com labelling which differed from Best Westerns! The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean, with queen beds ( in Executive rooms) ensuring a good sleep. The quality and quantity at breakfast was extremely good. The serving staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in Dublin and the hotel definitely contributed to it. We would be happy to stay here again.

    « Great Hotel... »

Stayed in Oct.16 for 3 nights in this hotel. The room was quite small but clean. Bus stop right opposite the hotel. It had a very old times classical hotel feel. Very kind staff. The restaurants and lobby of the hotel was always beaming with guests enjoying themselves so we decided to have our last dinner of our trip in the hotel pub. It was quite delicious. Airport commute was quite convenient and its just 15 minutes bus ride to the city centre.Quite a decent location. Overall great hotel and good staff.

    « Very helpful personnel »

It was a four nights stay for me and my wife. On the evening of third day we were informed that our return flight was cancelled and we were advised to communicate with the airline's service desk for re-booking. However as the cause of the flight cancellation was the announcement of a strike of the Air Flight Control technicians in my country with unknown duration we decided to leave earlier one day to be sure that we'd be back safely. The staff in reception was very helpful into helping us finding another flight to return home prior to the strike. They also didn't charge us for the last night that we had to leave earlier. As far as the hotel is concerned it is nice clean not very close to the city center but in a nice area with very good breakfast.

    « Hotel cancelled booking »

I booked this hotel 8 days before travelling and arrived with my confirmation email which said booking was confirmed and cant be cancelled or refunded. So one can imagine my shock when on checkin I was informed the booking had been cancelled as a digit on the credit card was wrong. The hotel said they emailed me in relation to this but I had not received same. The hotel was now booked out and I was left high and dry at the counter. There was no help or assistance from front desk staff. I told them I would have at least expected a phone call and could have rectified the matter there and then if I had of known there was an issue. I eventually sourced much pricier accommodation at the last minute and wont be ever returning or recommending this place.

    « Quality Hotel »

I have stayed on several occasions in the Best Western Skylon Hotel and have always found it to be excellent value for money ,with great service from friendly staff and excellent food. This has encouraged me to recommend it to several people from all over the world who also enjoyed their stays there as much as we have. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Dublin's Fair City .

« Comfortable friendly hotel and restaurant »

Could not fault this hotel, very comfortable beds and everything you could need in room. Excellent breakfast, good bar and restaurant. Excellent helpful staff. We were in Dublin for funeral and hotel laid on tea and lunch for family and friends at reasonable price. Lovely relaxing lounge. On bus route to city centre. Not far from Dublin airport. Highly recommend.

« Group of students had excellent stay »

3 nights in this hotel with an amazingly good breakfast. The beds nice, clean and warm. Towels and bathroom kit perfect. Busservice stops right before the hotel. If you want to save some money you can have a good sandwich across the street at the Spar supermarket. Very kind staff. Coctails in the restaurant a bit expensive. Coffee better choose cappuccino ;-)

« Yet to visit - Fantastic service »

I am due to visit this hotel in December during the run up to Christmas for my boyfriend's 21st Birthday. As I am not from Ireland I have little knowledge of the area and so emailed the hotel asking for some information on popular activities and restaurants. A lady named Hazel responded in a wonderful, timely manner offering not only a break down of the neighbouring area, but fantastically generous customer service to match. Thanks to Hazel we will now be celebrating my boyfriend's 21st in style :-). So excited to visit Dublin now!

« Very nice stay, just not long enough »

    « Excellent stay »

Myself and my husband Stayed here at beginning of October. We were only meant to stay two nights as a family member was in the nearby Mater hospital but ended up having to stay for 11 nights due to unforeseen circumstances. Paul and his staff were more than accommodating in ensuring we were very well looked after during this difficult time. The Food and the service we received was excellent to say the least. The staff went out of their way to help us in whatever way they could to ensure our stay was as pleasant and stress free as possible. Our room was tastefully decorated and our bed was very comfortable. Tea, coffee, biscuits, bottled water and crisps were left in our room daily and we had a Nespresso coffee machine which was a real treat instead of the usual sachets! We will most definitely be staying again! Thanks again to you Paul and all your staff.....????????????????????

« Clean Friendly hotel but overpriced »

Stayed here Thursday night on business. Nice hotel, clean , modern, great bar, had dinner in the bar and it was excellent.. Wifi free and quite good. Great breakfast, very good staff. Parking was tight, few parking spaces when we arrived but clears out after 8pm, pay and display for non residents... Rooms are quite small, adequate for my needs but maybe you would need larger I didn't give it full marks because I thought it overpriced for what you get, a three star hotel, location, midweek. I know hotel prices in Dublin have rocketed but really!!!

    5
    « Lovely »

We stayed here for a short break. Reception was welcoming and helpful both on arrival and departure. Our room was spotless. It was cleaned and replenished every day thanks to Marek. We didn't eat at the hotel and spent most of our days out and about. The beds here are huge, I almost couldn't find my husband! We had a room at the front which could be noisy as you are on the main road into Dublin, but this wasn't an issue for us The hotel is in Drumcondra which is between the city and the airport. There are local amenities so if you book here there's places to go for food and drink. There's a bus stop to get the Dublin bus and these were super reliable. We bought a visitor leap card, which was great value. We will return to Dublin for longer next time and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

    « Actually we didn't stay! »

We didn't actually stay here but had cause to deal with the manager. We needed help and she could not have been more helpful even though there was nothing in it for her or her hotel. If ever we need a hotel inDublin again we will definitely stay here. Excellent service goes along way!

« A fantastic hotel, exceptionally friendly staff »

This hotel was brilliant. When we arrived we sat in the bar and enjoyed the live music that was put on and enjoyed some Irish beer. The barman was very friendly and able to make recommendations for us. The room was spotless and the bed was large and comfortable. It offered easy assess to town which was by bus and only took ten minutes though we preferred to walk. It is also only one bus from the airport. We would highly recommend it!

« Overnight stay with family »

The room was lovely, clean, fresh, lots of towels and toiletries unlike other hotel who scrimp on these things. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little expensive but probably standard enough pricing. Free parking and close to city. It was more 4 star than 3.

    5
    « Fantastic stay. »

We stayed here for 4 nights last week and it was absolutely brilliant. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for you. We turned up at 6:30 am incredibly early and they did everything they could to get our room ready and at 9:30am it was ready and waiting. Even made us coffee to wake us up a bit. The reception staff and bar staff were fantastic anything you wanted they would help and do for you. On the last night there was a power cut around 12:30am just as we were checking out and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. They were working hard and on the phone constantly getting electricians out. Couldn't have handled the situation any better fair play to them. Our room was on floor one and gorgeous. Had a mini fridge and coffee maker, tv, table and chairs, king size bed and a big bathroom. Was decorated lovely and was cleaned every day. The location is a little out of the city centre but we didn't mind the walk down to the city centre. There is a bus stop right outside and easy access so just jump on one of them. Also the food in the restaurant is fab and fairly priced. Definitely worth a bite. Thanks to Shane also for setting us up with the room we had after we emailed in prior to arrival. Definitely recommend (:

« Good Location Between Airport and City »

The Best western Dublin Skylon is located between the airport and Dublin. Since we had a rental car it was easy to get around but in order to get into the city you either have to take a taxi or take a bus and transfer. Even though we had a car it took us over an hour to travel from the city center to the hotel (just a few miles) because the traffic was so bad. The hotel does have parking and they did not charge extra for it. The room was older but fine. Too bad breakfast was not included like at many BW hotels. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel but we did have a couple dinners in their restaurant and it was fine.

    5
« Perfect room equipment. Nice staff »

I was really happy to discover this hotel since I have to travel to Dublin as a business matter at least once a month. From the desk staff is always smiling and the rooms are really well equipped for the price.

« My families first trip »

It was my families first trip to Ireland so we stopped over at the SKylOn hotel in Dublin for few nights before we head to Donegal, they were very welcoming plus they have renovated the bar in the lobby ,the food is amazing ,the staff were extremely friendly and helpful ,Moreover; the location of the hotel is great because it's 20 euros to the airport by taxi and 2 euros by bus to the cities down town which takes roughly 13 mins . If you didn't feel the need to go downtown there is a grocery store and few good restaurants just opposite the hotel. Everytime am in Dublin I stay in this hotel.

    « Highly Recommended »

Arrived on Tuesday 18th October for a lovely 3 night stay. Rooms were very comfortable and all staff were friendly and obliging. Breakfast was really good and plentiful with lots of choice. We finished our stay with a very nice afternoon tea which was very good value. Served between 3pm and 6pm it was no bother at all when we ordered one at 1.30 before we left for the airport. Great location to explore Dublin - the centre is a mere 25 minute stroll away. All four of us were very impressed and really enjoyed our stay - thank you.

    5
    « Excellent stay - lovely staff »

A large group of us stayed here for a hen party and it was absolutely perfect. The rooms were large, clean and well appointed, as were the bathrooms. The location was great for going into Dublin for a night out/ explore. I think what really set it apart and made our stay so pleasant, were the lovely, lovely staff, they went above and beyond. From the front of house staff, to the bar staff and cleaning staff, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, one of the managers even treated us all to a glass of prosecco (19 glasses!). I can't rate them highly enough, thanks for a lovely stay.

« Ok but some shortfalls »

Nice enough hotel situated in city Centre however rooms are small. For example the bathroom door you have to squeeze yourself into get to the toilet. The breakfast restaurant a must miss .... cold food, too salty, and poor presentation. Service however was excellent front the front desk. A very convenient location to bus and site seeing tour buses.

    « Beautiful 2 night stay xxx »

Great hotel, beautiful food, friendly staff, will definitely be back and it is extremely close to the mater hospital which was the reason for my trip! Easy access to city too, bus stop is just across the road! Very comfortable hotel! I would highly recommend and also free parking for guests xxx

    « 50th Birthday celebration!! »

From the moment we called the hotel from Dublin airport to our check out 6 days later the staff could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for 5 nights and the hotel was lovely. The room was spacious, comfortable and spotless. Great choice of food for breakfast. We had an evening meal in the Bar and Grill, again great choice on the menu and food was delicious. This hotel is a great place to stay, highly recommended!!

« Great staff, room and location. »

Stayed here for a conference and must say the staff, room and food was excellent, loved the new cocktail bar after the conference, definitely No. 1 for staying in this area. Will be back! Thanks staff!

« Great hotel outside Dublin buzz »

Great location, easy to reach from town or airport, great bar food, really comfy bed. When we entered the hotel in the afternoon, there were lots of guest having their tea and scones and the atmosphere was lovely. Also, the food in the Bar is absolutely superb! I would however reccommend to get a room in the back our on the side. Our room was right opposite the housekeeping storage and elevator so in the early morning it got a bit noisy.

    « ENJOYABLE STAY »

Reception Hazel helpful and friendly Service to room excellent by name MURILLO Had problem with excursion booked at reception to Cliffs of Moher. Got to to bus stop Paddy Wagon and was told were not booked. There was another bus(City Scape)we asked the driver and he said were ok. Now we find Paddywagon credited our bank card although we only gave our card number to reception.I don't think they should credit a card if your not on the bus. We now have a double payment.

    « One night stay »

Stayed for one night before leaving Dublin to head to Belfast. Very clean, water pressure isn't the best, but that was ok. Restaurant was decent, but the staff wasn't the best, slow, forgot items, spilled drinks....

« Nice and clean, good access to city centre! »

Very nice and clean hotel in Dublin with good access to the city centre. Busses go just outside the hotel all the time, which was very convenient. When coming from the airport, you can either take bus 41 straight to the hotel or get a taxi for approximately 15€. Just beware - if you are taking the bus you need exact change! Staff was very friendly and there is a nice restaurant with a bar available too. Would definitely consider this hotel again next time I return to Dublin!

« Suberb value for money »

Myself and my partner recently visited the Skylon for a evening meal in the Grill bar. The quality of the food was excellent and tremendous value for money. I would of happily paid more such was the quality of the food and service. We will return soon.

    « Great location »

Myself and my partner stayed here for three nights. We have stayed here on numerous occasions the hotel is clean and spacious. Breakfast is excellent quality there is such a good selection. I have to mention Alan Whelan one of the staff in the breakfast room. He has worked in the hotel many years and he goes the extra mile for all the guests. He is always helpful cheerful and chatty. I have put that many good reviews for this hotel in the past that we couldn't get a room ourselves last year. This year we booked earlier to ensure we got booked in. I have to say this hotel has always been my favourite in Dublin because of it's location. My review alas has one negative point and that is the menu which has changed completely, the food in this hotel has always been excellent quality of old favourites and I can't understand why it changed to a more upmarket selection. It's a shame!

    « A night in Dublin »

We had one night in Dublin and decided to try this Best Western, what a good decision! The hotel is located about a 10 minute cab ride from downtown and the Temple Bar area. The hotel look and feel is definitely upscale soon as you enter the lobby. The rooms were modern, very clean and spacious enough. Our package included breakfast which was excellent with a wide choice of offerings. The Eggs Benedict were excellent. Overall a great choice for property , amenities and great service from all of the staff. Would not hesitate to return.

« Sadly my last visit »

When my girlfriend and I visit dublin we always stay here because it's a great hotel but when we came this time we found out there was no entertainment at nights so we had to go out at nights for our entertainment they also changed the food menu but because we were out at nights we did not try it as it's a great hotel it just does not suit our needs

« Very nice Hotel,, close to the airport »

We stayed at this hotel from 10/6 to 10/10, I really don't understand why the negative reviews! Our stay was wonderful, the front desk staff was helpful and cheerful, the bar staff went out of their way to make we were well taken care of. The location is ideal, 15-20 minutes from Dublin city center and about the same to the airport. We ate one meal at the hotel bar, which was delightful; and one breakfast, also delightful. I paid fro the meal at the bar with a credit card and paid for breakfast when I checked out. All in All, I will stay at this hotel again, and i will urge everyone I talk to to stay at this hotel.

    « Uncomfortable Stay »

From the time we checked in until we left, we felt very unwelcome. Checking in we were early (9:30 a.m.) so we knew we would have to wait to get in our room. The unfriendly gentlemen at the desk said he would call my cell as soon as a room was ready and it would be no later than 1:00 p.m. He couldn't rush me away from the desk quick enough and there was no one else waiting. We walked around Dublin and came back to the hotel about 11:30. We had been up 32 hours at this point and were exhausted. We grabbed a couch in the lobby, in front of the check-in desk, to wait. The staff was bringing coffee, tea, scones, to be people all around us but never acknowledged we were there. We went into the bar and grill, within sight of the front desk, and had lunch which was expensive but fine. Went back and sat on the couch until 1:00 p.m. I finally went to the desk and ask again if our room was ready and she said it was and had been for awhile. Not sure why I didn't receive that phone call. Upon checking in I was given no information as to how the breakfast worked only that the bar and grill served food until 9:30 and serve drinks until the barmaids decided to stop serving. When we got in the room we couldn't get the lights to come on. We spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to get the lights to work and finally saw this silver box on the wall that said "insert room key here." We figured, why not. It activated the electricity. I would think this would have been something they would have told me to do on check-in. The sad part is, they had already been so unfriendly to us we didn't want to walk back down and ask how to the lights to come on. There was a lot of noise from the hall and other rooms during the night. Other than not having air conditioning, only a desk top fan, it was a comfortable room. Everyday until late evening the entire lobby was packed with people on the numerous sofas having tea or drinks. It was extremely noisy and made us feel awkward walking through the lobby with people everywhere staring at you as you walked through. There was another set of couches near where they served breakfast but they were always packed with people having meetings or working on their laptops. There was literally nowhere for us to sit in the lobby area. We ate breakfast once at the hotel. It was fine. We didn't know if it was complimentary or if we had to pay because no one told us so I waived down a waitress after waiting for an extended period of time and she asked what my room number was and said she would charge my room. I told her I wanted to pay cash I didn't want my room charged. She said I had to go to the front desk to pay. I went to the front desk and the women working was unbelievably rude. I told her what I wanted and she said "I can't charge you if it isn't in the computer and it isn't in the computer, I will just charge your room later." I said I want to pay cash I don't want my room charged. She got upset with me and said again very hateful that she couldn't do anything because it wasn't in the computer. Any place else would have checked with the staff in the breakfast room and found out or let me tell her what I had so I could pay, not raise her voice to me like I was an idiot. We went to dinner at the bar and grill at the hotel another night. We were listening to a ballgame on our ear phones. Purposely sat in the corner to not bother anyone. We weren't even talking due to us listening to the game. We ate dinner and had several drinks. I spent over $100 euro. They brought us our tab and said the kitchen was closing and we need to close out our ticket. Here's the thing. The bar was packed and they weren't bringing tabs to anyone else. They wanted us to leave. We weren't making noise or bothering anyone. It was the last time we spent another penny on anything in the hotel. The staff in the bar were constantly talking and looking so I know they were talking about us. I even saw them run out to the front desk staff and gossip. It is quite evident when they keep looking over their shoulder at you when they are talking. Supremely unprofessional. I have never stayed somewhere, and I travel frequently, where I have felt so unwelcome. We were their for five nights and honestly couldn't wait to get out of there. If I hadn't prepaid we would have left and stayed somewhere else. It is truly sad that everyone that worked at this hotel was so pretentious and rude, because everyone else in Dublin that we encountered were so welcoming and friendly.

« Perfect for an overnight near airport »

After driving all over Ireland for a week and doing a walking tour of Dublin on the final day, this was the perfect spot only 3 miles or so from the airport. The room was very small and the bathroom was tiny, but it was clean, modern and comfy enough for an overnight. We ate a light, late dinner in the grill off the lobby. It was not remarkable but was good enough to get us through. Parking was free. Breakfast was not included but we were departing too early for that anyway. TV was lacking: only a few channels and poor reception. Still, it was a gGreat value for the money.

« Its the little things matter most....great stay »

We booked into the skylon for our anniversary.we had early flight from leeds so we arrived at the hotel around 9am. Obviously our room wasnt ready that early but we were welcomed warmly from the reception staff and we were offered a room to store our bags for a few hours while we went for a look around. Dublin City centre is around a 15min bus ride away.the number 16 and 41 go into the city centre from right opposite the hotel. We got back to the hotel around 2ish and our room was ready. We were upgraded to a suite which we thought was a lovely touch. In the room waiting for us was a bottle of bubbly which I thought was a great touch.the room was very spacious and the nespreso machine was welcome from the normal freeze dry coffee sachets you get in most hotels. The bed was massive and very comfy. Our stay was fantastic and if you get chance....go to Asian buffet over the road on a Thursday evening....a buffet not like normal buffets...they actually cook your food instead of helping you self. .it was devine. If your in downtown dublin,do the Guinness factory...great experience and go to bank on college green...have the lamb platter for 2...the tastiest meal I've ever had.gogarties down temple bar is a great bar with a great atmosphere and try the haddock chowder in the old storehouse again in the temple bar area. The only thing I'd say is its obviously is quite expensive and the rooms do need air conditioning but there is a high powered fan in there if you can sleep through the buzz of it whizzing around. But the hotel is spotless and the staff are fantastic and helpful. The breakfast was great and was refreshing to listen to a couple of the more senior waiters singing and whistling to themselves while clearing dishes off tables. All in all...a great stay and we will be returning to the skylon when we return to dublin

    « decent hotel »

An older building, although neat and clean. Our room situated in such a way that getting a breeze to cool it down was difficult - hotel did provide a fan, we ended up leaving the door open for a while to get a cross breeze from an open window in the hallway. Parking lot was very tight, spots hard to find. A bright spot was the dining area - good food and excellent service - friendly and attentive wait staff.

    « Super comfortable »

This hotel is great value for money, and SO, SO comfortable. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, the food is great, and it was super clean too. Would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend it.

« Comfortable hotel out of town »

This hotel is situated between airport and city centre and isn't shown on Dublin city tourist maps. It's a 10-15 mins bus ride to city centre (depending on traffic) but plenty to see on the way incl Croke Park. We stayed for two nights and found the hotel was very comfortable. Very helpful reception desk staff. The distance from city is challenging (too far to walk in our opinion) however there are many bus routes which go past hotel which means you won't wait long for a bus. We got a Leap card for public travel from the Shop across the road and that worked well. The taxis cost less than €20 from city to hotel incl late at night. Well priced good quality accommodation is hard to find in Dublin and we were very happy here.

    « Great as ever »

This is Our regular spot for when I have to attend nearby Beaumont hospital. Staff are unfailingly welcoming, helpful and polite. They really do push this hotel from great to excellent. My only gripe I suppose is the very limited vegetarian options on the menu. We would love to eat here at some point. Always helps relax me to have a pleasant evening and good nights rest before my appointment so Thank You again staff of Skylon

« One of the best mid range hotels »

Why this hotel gets my votes: Modern and very comfortable rooms. Plushy bed was superb for rest. Fantastic service. Small thoughtful touches like complimentary bags of chips, bottled water and nespresso capsules. Staff at the front desk, restaurant and housekeeping were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed an early check in even when we arrived an hour early. Bus stop 60 meters away from the hotel that brings you to Dublin city centre within 10 minutes. Several restaurants nearby. In fact the hotel restaurant serves great food. Will come back again.

    « Nice friendly hotel »

A little out of the town but only 3 euros and 15 minutes on the bus from the stop opposite the hotel so don't let that put you off. Very friendly staff, comfortable beds, and a good substantial breakfast to set you up for a days sightseeing. Not much more you could ask for.

This place was wonderful!! The gym, the restaurant, front desk manager had superb customer service!! Thank you for the early check in, it was much appreciated after 18 hours of travelling. Would stay again!!

    « A Happy Return »

Returning to the Dublin Skylon Hotel was a delight. Having spent time abroad, my wife and I were very happy to return to Dublin and the comforts of the Skylon Hotel. At the Skylon, we were greeted with courtesy and a willingness from all to please. Our room was clean and comfortable as always. The newly decorated bar is great and the staff were hospitable. We are never disappointed when we visit the Dublin Skylon Hotel.

    « Lovely Stay »

Nice location for both the airport and city centre. Nice cosy clean hotel room and plenty options for things to eat and drink too. Would highly recommend this hotel! Room was above bar so music could be heard until late, but not bothersome at all.

    5
    « Super comfy stay »

We arrived early, having come from another hotel in Malahide. Irregardless, the front desk person arranged for a room for us right away. This was most appreciated. The room itself was fairly large with a big King size bed. Super comfy sleep; even the pillows were the right density for me. If you don't have a vehicle, the bus service to either downtown or the airport is right close to the hotel. I would recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Dublin for leisure or for a conference. It is spacious enough for either.

    « Cheapish..... But.... »

Looks ok as you enter but If you're unlucky enough to get one of the bedrooms that seem to have been squeezed into the roof, watch your head. We and another couple booked a stay here and both ended up with these rooms. A large part of roof protrudes into the room one side of the bed which means you have to duck to walk around the bed to get in. Apart from this and reception staff who dont actually listen the only saving grace were the bar staff who were very helpful and polite. I wouldn't stay there again as customer service is very poor (apart from bar staff and one Irish lady we checked out with)

« Lovely Hotel in a Lovely City »

The Skylon was home for 3 nights whilst staying in this lovely Irish city. After a short ride from the airport we received a typically cheerful welcome and we were impressed with the nicely decorated interior, which included a large lounge area with comfy sofas & a very stylish bar. The room was small, but had everything we needed & was also nicely decorated. We had great service throughout our stay, the whole team were lovely & a there was a great atmosphere in the bar with live music on Saturday evening. The only downside for us was location, it was a little out of the city to the north, around 14 euros into city centre in a taxi & about 20 min drive. Convenient for airport, but not a city centre hotel. (I should have looked into this in more detail). A very pleasant stay & a nice introduction to Ireland.

    « excellent »

excellent all round, breakfast excellent choice, rooms clean, quiet, comfy bed very good location. 20 mins walk to O Connell street over level ground. [ beware of cyclists ] .Staff very friendly. Handy for shops ,restaurants and bar directly opposite. Also bus service into and from centre very reliable.

    « Good for a family break »

We stayed at this hotel in July for a couple of nights. Our 3 year old slept in the huge bed with us at no extra cost. The hotel was very convenient for the city centre - we got buses to and from the centre which was quick, easy and cheap, and with the bus lanes we easily avoided rush hour queues getting us back to the hotel in super-quick time. There are a couple of nice looking restaurants just opposite the hotel but with a 3 year old, we decided to eat in the hotel and we weren't disappointed by the food. Breakfast was good as was dinner. The room was pretty small, but well equipped. Unfortunately when we visited, it was uncharacteristically warm and the small fan didn't really do much to cool the room down, and as we were just above a smoking area, leaving the windows open wasn't much good either. I'd definitely stay again for proximity to city centre. Staff were friendly too.

    5
« Convenient to the airport. »

I arrived at this venue after a 32 hour flight from Australia. I was shattered and they really understood that. I basically just went to bed and slept. In the morning, when woke, I had adequate opportunity to have a good look around. It is rather quaint, and nice. The only observation I can make about this place is that at the breakfast room, I was by far the youngest diner there, as the others were well into retirement. I really felt my youth.

    5
« Comfortable, convenient and very friendly »

We have stayed in this hotel on a few occasions and would definitely recommend it. Very close to City Centre, our room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was great. We have also eaten in the bar restaurant where we also found the food great and the new decor is lovely

    4
    « Good hotel »

The hotel is conveniently located between the airort and the city center. So it's idaeal if you are arriving for business from overseas and you have to overnight in the Capital. Temple Bar is just a short bus/taxi way. Rooms are spacious and silent. They smell fresh and bed linen are spotless clean. Bathroom is large and full of amenities. Bar food is also good and even if you have to pay the usual premium price for being in a hotel, you are compensated by the speed of the service. There is a large Car Park which is free for Best Western Loyalty card holders I think I Wil return if in the area again

    4
    « Good, comfortable hotel »

Stayed with friends, very easy to use public transport to get into town (buses don't accept Euro notes though, only coins!). Comfortable room, good restaurant, helpful staff. The small downsides were that the shower leaked and the wifi signal was terrible in our room, which was a shame. Would stay there again, perhaps in a different room though.

    5
    « Good hotel »

Very nice hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly helpful staff and the cream tea is delicious reasonably priced at 18 euros for two. Also there are plenty of busses just outside the hotel either going into the city or the airport. Would recommend this hotel.

    4
    « Surprisingly good »

Stayed midweek on business, hotel full but staff still friendly, taking time to explain details. Excellent bar food, usual hotel price premium but worth it this time. Again breakfast busy but food good. Car parking available, €5 for residents. Passed hotel often but never stayed - had wrong perception hotel was basic. No hesitation in staying again in future.

    « Short Stay »

Made this hotel our base having flown into Dublin airport. The taxi from the airport took around 20 minutes and cost €17.00. From the outside the hotel doesn't look too welcoming but the reception area tells a different story with a nice bar and restaurant complete with comfortable sofas and chairs. The rooms are ok if a little dated and ours was small but all in all a good choice for a short stay but if you want a hotel near the City then this one isn't for you.

    5
    « Mr »

Lovely room, clean and tidy. The bathroom was tiny. When I stay again I will ask for a room away from the elevator. The staff are all very friendly and very helpful and have a good local knowledge of the area.

« Perfect option for a short break to Dublin »

The hotel is situated on a good bus route from the airport and into Dublin town centre. Although, we did chose to walk into town which only took us about half an hour. There are a number of food takeaways (we sampled the Chinese and Domino's and would recommend them both) across the road from the hotel and a Tesco Metro store 5 minutes down the road. Our room was lovely; though we only had a view of the car park this wasn't an issue for us as we were out all day. The hotel has a nice feel to it with guests relaxing in the comfy foyer/lobby. We didn't sample the hotels restaurant but menu looked reasonable. The wifi was good even though the hotel is in process of changing over to a new provider this didn't impact on quality of service. There was a bus strike the day we left but the hotel were extremely helpful and booked us a taxi from the hotel later in the day and even offered us option of leaving our bags with them until we returned for our taxi which saved us carrying them around all day. A service that was really appreciated. Would recommend this hotel as an affordable base for a mini-break - not in the centre of Town but close enough to explore what Dublin has to offer ??

    5
    « Clean & Tidy »

The room was very clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom a little on the small side. Other than perfect stay for a city break. The bar also has a great cocktail menu. I would stay here again.

« Dublin Best Western Plaza »

Room was very clean. Bathroom was small. Very close to bus stops for airport or Belfast. Breakfast was good variety. Lots of construction going on so it was very noisy starting very early in the morning. Bar is nice as well.

« Great room and service. »

Nice big king size bed. Excellent breakfast and good food in the restaurant too. Friendly staff. We arrived at 9:30am and only intended to drop our bags off but they let us check in because our room was ready.

    « Really lovely hotel »

First visit to Ireland, splendid city is Dublin. This hotel was superb, only downside was the distance from the city centre, but it's not too much of a problem if you purchase the transport card on offer, 2 bus stops within a 2 minute walk. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable, by far the largest rooms I've ever stayed in.

    5
    « Great Place »

Really enjoyed this hotel. Nice inside, great lounge, easy access to catch a bus to O'Connell Street. Short taxi ride from the airport. Breakfast was great, will make you a specialty dish for continental breakfast. Clean, staff was pleasant. This hotel is 100 times better then the other BW on the Southside, Shelton. Recommend.

« Nice hotel, great location »

Staying here for 3 nights. Pleasantly surprised by interior as exterior quite underwhelming. Lobby is elegant and beautiful. Always busy with folks enjoying a drink or having high tea in aternoon, nice to see everyone enjoying their stay. Front desk staff EXCELLENT, they answered my many questions with ease and vey helpful ( this is our first time to ireland). Their directions and suggestions were always spot on. Room spacious and clean. Only comment is lack of air conditioning (room quite stuffy and unfortunately our window opened to vent from resto kitchen so room always smelled of cooking meat and frying chips) and the lack of in room refrigerator. However minor details compared to the many positives we experienced. Location great within walking distance to many pubs and restaurants (try Fagan's just up the street) and a quick bus ride to o'connelly street and temple bar. If ever back in Dublin would most certainly return!

    4
« Comfy, clean, location not great »

The hotel is located in a dodgy area of North Dublin although right on the main bus lines, stops only half z block away. Right next door to St Patricks campus of DCU. There are a couple of nice pubs and places to eat right across the street, but it's a half hour bus ride to city centre, longer in rush hour. Taxi will cost you from 10 to 13 euro depending on traffic. The hotel has a big dining room, bar, and a breakfast room. Apparently breakfast CAN be included, but it wasn't for me! :(. There is a lovely sitting space in the lobby. Hallways, stairs and elevators are all good. Comfy beds and clean towels, windows that open. Good air flow. The TV was rather small by N. American standards, maybe 32". But the room was big, with good closet space , desk, chairs etc. Free wifi with good connection. There is a gated parking compound at the front and underground as well I think. Front staff were all young and weren't particularly friendly but did their jobs. There is no business centre, just two computers in the lobby, third- party operated. The hotel is pretty quiet in spite of being on a main drag. It would cost quite a bit more to stay in town centre, and the buses work really well, so I would stay here again.

    « Great weekend visit »

My husband, brother, sister in law and I visited Dublin for a weekend at the end of August as a belated birthday celebration for my husband and brother. We booked the king size rooms at the skylon which were excellent. We had drinks in the hotel bar on the Sunday which were very nice. Overall an excellent stay

« Love this hotel highly recommend »

Just got back from my first trip to dublin. This hotel is perfect as we wanted luxury and something not right in the city centre but close enough. The 41 bus from the airport took 15 mins and the bus stop was right outside the hotel. The bus there also went into the city centre taking 15 mins. We bought the leapvisitor travel card for use on all buses trams and trains which was well worth the money. The hotel had lots of extras in the room like toiletries, a fan and a nespresso coffee machine. Really nice and quiet and great value for money. The only let down was the breakfast it wasn't great for the €12 per person and we had no instruction from staff on how to order etc. The restaurant was gorgeous for our evening meal and the staff were great especially Jill. Overall a very impressive visit i would recommend to anyone

« A Good Place for Visit to Dublin »

The rooms were good; the exceptionally hot weather made for unusual conditions where the rooms were room and would only cool a little. But for size & quality the rooms were good. Location was easy to manage & staff were helpful about transit information. Breakfast was outstanding! Dinner, not so much.

« Best Western Skylon Dublin - Exclent Staff »

This hotel has an excellent staff who were extremely helpful. We arrived early in the morning and they allowed us to check our bags so we could go explore Dublin until our room was ready. When we returned later in the evening we had been checked into our room. Our stay was during the bus driver strike and the hotel continued to go out of their way to help make our stay in Dublin extremely pleasant. The food served in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced,

    « older but updated »

We were in a group of 8 and needed 4 rooms. This hotel was able to accommodate us. We found that we were there during the time of 2 major sporting events. No wonder the hotel and the city were so busy. Hotel was clean. Older with SMALL rooms but updates were done well. Very small bathroom with no ventilation. Staff was accommodating. Breakfast was pricy. Hotel was pricy...maybe due to the sporting events.

« Good location near airport »

This is a fine location near airport. I passed night and used my Best Western point. Everything was Ok, the room was spacious and clean. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, (I advice you the ham and cheese). I used the Hotel restaurant and the dinner was good.

« Very disappointing for the price we paid (almost €500) »

Stayed for 2 nights for the All Ireland Hurling final weekend.... Check-in Was quick and friendly enough but receptionist incorrectly checked us in for room only when we paid bed & breakfast and asked if we wanted to pay for breakfast, I thought I made a mistake and as we walked to the lift looked at our reservation and it was in fact bed & breakfast, advised receptionist and she checked and advised it was not noted on the system and gave the breakfast coupons. Room Was on the 5th floor and understandably with it being a very busy sporting weekend and late booking, we literally got the last room, opened up the room door and were horrified to see how tiny it was, husband immediately felt claustrophobic. Bathroom was a match box. We went down to reception to see if we could get a bigger room but to no avail but advised to come down before 12 in the morning....which we did and got a bigger room but the bathroom was nearly half the size of the one in our previous room. It was that small and you could open and close the door while sitting on the loo! The ventilation in it also did not work and could not take a shower as with the door closed I felt as if I would suffocate as no air at all. The bedroom is not much better and the windows only open a tiny bit. There is a fan that had on the whole night but very noisy and did provide a little relief. I can't understand how a hotel does not have air conditioning, didn't seem to be any in the bar either. I put out the service room sign on the door and was still on the door when we returned later on that night, never seen that happening before in many hotels I have stayed in Staff Like some other reviewers, I got the impression that the bar staff and waitresses were talking about us and not very friendly especially if not eating in the bar.... After a great sporting weekend, we could not wait to leave and checked out at 9:00 and get some air.

    « 10/10 »

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during our recent trip to Dublin. We had just got off the ferry and were looking for a reasonably priced hotel with parking facilities and stumbled across this hotel on Late Rooms. We called ahead to make sure there was parking available and when Alexandra confirmed there was we made our way to the hotel. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised at how lovely the hotel was, we had arrived around 12pm and knew that check in wasn't until 2pm We had expected to pay extra for an early check in but Alexandra found us a room at no extra cost straight away which was perfect as we had been travelling all night. The room was lovely, nice decor and very clean. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and the location and facilities are great. The hotel itself is just outside the city centre which is only 20 minutes away by bus. I cannot fault the the hotel whatsoever and would definitely stay here again if I return to Dublin. Fantastic stay.

    « Amazing Staff »

The hotel is very nice and so cosy and clean.I had family staying at this hotel in August, I went in the day before with a list the lenght of my arm with demands and requests. Firstly the reception staff greeted in a friendly manner and were more than happy to help. My list of requests where taking care of within minutes. I arrived the follwing day with my family and forgot to ask for the rooms to be next to each other and again no problem to change the rooms. I was in and in out of the hotel for the week and i cannot commend the staff enough especially the 8 people on the reception team. Thanks for your help through out the trip...????????????

We are planning to stay at this hotel from 14th September to celebrate my wifes 48th birthday. I contacted the hotel to see if they could do anything to help make my wife's birthday memorable and I was surprised and delighted with the hotels response. A young lady by the name of Alexandra replied to my email and she was amazingly helpful and that's enough for me to write this review. Bloody amazing.....I booked this hotel because of TripAdvisor reviews and I'm really glad I did....look forward to staying with you very soon

« Comfortable Last Night in Ireland »

Although I found the woman who checked us in not as friendly as I would have hoped, I was pleasently surprised with the room. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean. My partner complained about the street noise, but I think that it was a bit of a city culture shock after 2 weeks in the middle of nowhere (I didn't hear a thing!) The hotel is in a good location between the airport and the city. We took an Über into the city, which didn't cost all too much. There were two gentlemen working the bar when we returned, the younger of which was very charming and helpful. I requested a Gin Martini with an olive and I was very pleased to learn the the hotel provided the employees with a course in which there were specifically taught how to make a proper martini. All in all, I was pleased with my stay.

I have been here twice before, both experiences were excellent. The hotel is clean with great local services. The staff were very nice and welcoming. One in particular made it memorable with her exquisite service. I believe she is recently hired

« Not cheap but good »

Staff very good, especially the man from Porto Alegre, called Jefferson, who helped us with TV tuning. Still could not get British stations, and TV was not working the last time we were there in May. Nice touches in reception. newspapers, water with lime and fruit. And tea-making facilities in the room. Fourteen euro is a bit much for fish n chips in the bar, food and drink too dear. Now there is no shuttle bus service to the airport. There is a fixed rate of 16 euro, according to reception but taxi-man was starting the meter until I mentioned the fixed rate. Not sure if meter would have been cheaper but this was an unsatisfactory arrangement.

Great place for a lone traveller - safe, friendly and comfortable. Easy to get bus or taxi to town and airport. Food lovely. I lost my purse and it was returned to me by reception staff. I could hear the TV from the next room until very late but otherwise a lovely stay.

    « Great Dublin Hotel. »

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights from Aug 21st. Never judge the book by its cover! the inside is modern and very clean. All the staff where so friendly and proved a great service, our thanks to all. As it was my wifes birthday a bottle of fizzy wine was placed in the room a very touching thought, thank you. The room was clean and well furnished. We had breakfast the choice was great and the food very taste. The bar did great cocktails ,and a drop of the black stuff went down well! We used number 16 bus from airport to hotel and also stuck with this bus to get into the city center. I would not heistate to recommend staying here.

« Not on a Sunday, lovely common area, watch the price »

I chose this hotel because it is directly on a bus route to the airport. Bus 16 or 41. Silly me, I forgot to take into account that Ireland is very Catholic and the buses basically don't run on Sunday. Man, I was almost in big trouble for getting back to the airport for my flight. Fortunately I still had some euros and managed to hire a taxi. Yow! Be careful in your planning. We ate the breakfast buffet and it was very nice. We also had dinner in the bar area and I didn't like that quite so much. The lounge is a wonderful place to meet up with people if you are travelling with a group and want to spend some socializing time together. Additional planning warning. In June the price was 120 for 3 and in July the price was 186 for 2. Good golly! What a price hike! It was worth that price in June, it was not worth that July price, so mind your pricing is my advice.

« Did not like at all. »

Three Birthday girls (1 age 60 & 2 age 70)went to restaurant. Ordered 2 small portions of the roast beef dinner €9 each & 1 normal size €12. Waitress came out to tell us 'the gas was broken' & would we prefere sandwiches!!!! We said would wait for 30 mins. One couple left... So dinners arrived - very poor - the small portions were suitable for a child not an adult - 1 slice of beef, 3 carrots, 1 roast & 1 mash potato & Yorkshire pudding. I asked for more roast potatoes & vegetables so waitress provided them but they were ages in coming. Had dessert & tea after. We drank soda water & lime - a different price each time. (1) was €2.70, (2) was €3. (3) was €9 for 3 glasses. Sat in lobby & ordered tea with scones - delicious. The tea pot had no knob on top for opening it - had to use a spoon, all the sugar sachets came in a cup!!!! For a hotel this is bad...

    « very good »

The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast variety was very good. Not the best location, its quite a walk from the city centre. The bed was nice and comfortable. Excellent hotel. Should we visit Dublin, we would definitely use it again.

    « Excellent customer service »

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and had a fabulous time even with a small problem that was sorted .We enjoyed breakfast which was amazing and the staff very pleasant even though they were very busy a young man with a pony tail was very pleasant and helpful. When we booked in we were very happy with the reception staff who always were extremely courteous and always smiling .The duty manager I think his name was Dan was extremely nice .The hotel is spotless clean and beds very comfortable .The taxi into town varies from taxi to taxi but to O'connell Street is about 12 euros which if there is 4 of you works out the same as the bus that runs outside .We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Dublin especially families of 4 as it is very good value thanks

    « Great Hotel »

Great hotel. Staff was very helpful. Super clean hotel lobby and room. Good food at bar. Easy location to catch buses downtown. The only downside is you can not make calls from your room. You must go to reception desk and request a phone to use. No air conditioning (Some days it got hot in room). No refrigerator in room. Pain to have to go down to bar to get ice.

    « Very nice stay »

We were here literally from 7p to 6a for one night so I can't give a lot of info. We arrived about 11a and we were checked in but room wasn't ready which we expected. Front desk staff was very pleasant and they had delicious strawberry water available. We had a family room with a queen and 2 twins. Room was very clean and decor while not completely updated was very pretty and European. Parking is right out front for 5 Euro per day. There is also a bus stop to O'Connell street right out front on the opposite side of the road. People say you can walk to it but it's a long walk, probably 45 minutes or longer. The airport is maybe 15 minutes away with a car which is why we stayed her the night before leaving. There are a few restaurants and a bar right across the street as well.

    « A truly wonderful stay »

We stayed here for a few nights while visiting Dublin for my partners birthday. We had a wonderful time. On arrival the check-in was smooth and the receptionist were really friendly. They gave us a free breakfast for the next day due to it being my partners birthday. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had an issue with our lights. The bathroom light wouldn't work unless the main bedroom light was on. Bit of a pain when needing the toilet in the night! The next day we arrived back to our room to be surprised with a bottle of bubbly from the hotel and a card saying happy birthday. Really lovely touch and we greatly appreciated it. The bar staff were also really friendly. The breakfast service and was a bit slow and we had to ask a few times for toast as they had forgotten but nothing to complain about. We would highly recommend this hotel and will be returning in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

    « An amazing hotel »

On arrival the first thing we notice was the high standard of cleanliness. We were happy with the size of our room and interior. The simple personal touch of a bottle water and a snack in our room were greatly appreciated after our long late night flight. Hotel is within 15mins of the airport. The bus stop is located right beside the hotel which made it easy to get a bus to the airport and to O'Connell St. for 2.70euro each to explore Dublin City by walking. The Hotel is 10-15mins walk to Croke Park depending on which entrance. The food in the bar/restaurant at evening time was excellent, the staff (a very young girl with brown hair in particular) were friendly and there was a nice atmosphere to have a drink also. On one occasion the bar staff gave us change for the bus without any hesitations as the fare must be exact. There is no air conditioning which didn't bother us, however a fan is provided for anybody who may need it. 12euro each for breakfast was way too expensive, therefore we decided to go to the 'Cafe by Day' for breakfast or lunch which is 5 minute walk from the hotel

    « Above & Beyond »

Stayed here during our recent visit to Dublin. The hotel was clean and nice distance from O'Connell Street. We walked to O'Connell street every day (even in the rain). Most importantly the staff were exceptional. We had to adjust our stay dates and the staff went out of their way to ensure we were able to stay in the same room. Breakfast was lovely in the hotel. We would stay here again.

« good place to stay »

a bit out of town but close to the airport, so a convenient choice for us. Hotel was very comfy, staff really nice and helpful. We did not eat here but had a couple of drinks at the bar and the staff all really friendly. Bar area though was very noisy more like a normal pub than a hotel bar. There was a very nice lounge area by reception which was much quieter and a good place to sit. They also do snacks in this area. Rooms really good, looks like hotel is newly decorated, so all looked nice.

« Beautiful hotel In Dublin »

The Best Western Plus Dublin Skylon was excellent. The room (we booked one with a kingsize bed) was very beautiful and quite comfortable. It was a bit warm, but the provided fan made up for that. The Skylon Hotel isn't far from Dublin's city center. You can easily take the bus, but if you're up for it it's a 30 minute walk. Quite fun! Across from the hotel are some excellent take away restaurants. We choose Chinese food, tasty! We only stayed in Dublin one day. If we return, I'd definitely stay in this hotel again.

    « Wonderful Stay »

Stayed here for two nights for a birthday celebration while also visiting Croke Park. The hotel is very nice, clean and has recently been refurbished. Because it was a birthday celebration we were upgraded and were so surprised to find a bottle of prosecco, box of chocolates and rose petals in our room on arrival. It was such a lovely treat and made our stay all the more enjoyable. I have to mention a staff member Alexandra with whom I made my reservation. She could not have been more helpful and pleasant and went out of her way in every respect. She has to be complimented and should be given an immediate promotion/pay rise for her professionalism, helpfulness and excellent customer service skills. The room we were allocated was beautiful with a separate sitting area and was beautifully decorated. There was even complimentary bottles of water and McKeoghs crisps. I would highly recommend this hotel especially if you are attending Croke Park - only a 15 minute walk down the road. If I had to be critical, the only thing is there is no air-conditioning in the bedrooms although fans are provided but when the weather is warm air-conditioning would be needed. Overall a lovely hotel, very friendly staff throughout and a credit to everyone.

« Best choice in Drumcondra »

I've stayed here a few times over the years. I even met and was speaking to the owner Mr. McEniff once! It's a lovely hotel, the wifi works well and you have plenty of options for food. It's geared towards an older clientele but I think that means it's homely and offers a good service. I've stayed in other places in this area and this is the best option.

    « Lovely Place! »

I spent 5 days at Skylon Hotel in Dublin and was so glad we took this choice! the people working there are lovely, the hotel is very traditional and cosy styled and the breakfast very delicious. It was my moms birthday and we asked to decorate a table for her in the morning and got free breakfast for all of the 4 of us and prosecco to our room as a surprise. We got great help with every question we had and also the rooms are very clean and welcoming. There are super restaurants around the corner and a lot of buses going straight to city centre. One day the weather was so nice we walked into town, so its very well located and close to the airport. if you don't want to stay in a hostel and have a nice few days at a hotel for a fair price, you should definitely go to Skylon Hotel!

« Great Family Reunion at the Skylon »

Checked in on July 14 and checked out Aug 3. My spouse and I were in Dublin to meet up with our daughters and their families who came in from Europe for a family reunion and to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Great visit, Nice room, good food and drinks par excellence is how the whole family thought about this well run hostelry. The perfection all starts with the management team and goes all the way down to the night staff. Wonderful, we will be back next year. Mike Hanley & family Clearwater Florida USa

« Will definitely stay again »

Very nice hotel, friendly helpful staff. Nice sized rooms, was a bit warm and we could not not find the temperature control, but not overbearing. A few minutes by taxi to the city center @ €9 - €10. The meals were really good. A nice lively pub across the street if you didn't want to go into town.

    « 7 days in Dublin »

Location: The hotel isn't in the city center but is located in the village Drumcondra. The surrounding neigberhouud is quiet and safe. On the otherside of the road there is a supermarket and several restaurants. There are frequent (every 10 minutes) busses to the city center. The bus stop is located across the hotel. We highly recommend buying a rambler card (5 days unlimited for 40€) for the buss. The room: We had the executive king room during our stay. The room is clean and spacious with everything you need. There is good free Wi-Fi (minimum 20Mbps). The television has 15 channels. Our room was cleaned thoroughly every day. Every day we had clean towels, 5 different kind of soap, etc.. Service: The reception was kind and responsive to our questions. For 14€ you can have an extended breakfast with hot and cold food. There was a good vibe in the hotel.

    « Great Experience, highly recommended :) »

My wife and I came here all the way from Canada to stay on our honeymoon and we were so happy with the extra effort they took to make our stay there special. There was a really nice honeymoon gift (bottle of champagne chilling with two flutes) waiting for us in our suite it was so unexpected and a really nice surprise. The room we were staying in was really nice and spacious in comparison to other hotels we've stayed at in Europe. The front desk was also super helpful and friendly. We couldn't ask for anything better. We loved it so much we decided to book there again on our last night in Ireland!

« Nice Hotel On Ok Location »

The hotels itself is lovely, Staff very friendly. It's in an OK location half way between the City Centre and the Airport. The rooms aren't that great for 4 adults quite small, the major upset we had was the room was absolutely roasting, that hot you couldn't sleep even with the window wide open. No Air-con just a noisy fan that blows the hot air around.

    « Fabulous! »

Just returned home from a fantastic two night stay here. Booked for our 10 year wedding anniversary (we got married in a Best Western..), and were delighted from the minute we walked in. Wonderful staff, great room, breakfast fab (well worth the €12!), dined twice in the bar&grill and we were very impressed. Had a bottle of wine and a card left in our room also for our anniversary which was a lovely touch..? Close to airport, on a main bus route, taxis reasonable too.x

« Close to airport. Slow Wi-Fi. Breakfast could be better. »

The hotel is just 10 minutes away from the airport and about 4 km. away from the city center. My room was clean and comfortable but the Internet connection was quite slow. I had Egg Benedict for breakfast but it wasn't good. Another day I had Bagel Delight with salmon and it was so so. My magnetic key card didn't work for 2 times. I had to get it fixed at the reception and they said if you put it close to your mobile phone, the magnetic field will be interrupted.

« Great location for a short stay city break »

I stayed at the Best Western Skylon Hotel with two friends in a triple room in May. Our room was large, bright and clean, with a king size bed and two singles. We were greeted with a lovely glass of presecco on arrival, and sat drinking it in the reception lounge which was very comfortable. We had our evening meal in the hotel, which was served in the bar. It was fine, but nothing exceptional. More like pub grub than fine dining. Breakfast, however, was served in the dining room and was lovely. Buffet breakfast included cereals, juices, fruit, breads, rolls and pastries. There were toasters and also a pancake maker. Good selection of gluten free food available too. You could also order a cooked breakfast from the menu, which was then freshly cooked and delicious. Service was excellent. There was a TV in the corner of the room which was displaying the departures board information from Dublin airport, which I thought was a great idea, as the hotel is within easy reach of the airport. I'd highly recommend staying here, and will definitely return

    « Night only »

Here again. Short stop over because it is 10 mins from airport. 15 from city center. 10 mins to the motorway "M50". Reasonably priced. Wonderful staff. Spotlessly clean. Stayed longer a last Christmas. No change in service. Hint book direct. I planed my booking over "booking.com" . Somehow something went astray but the staff sorted everything out. Wonderful.

    « handy location »

Easy access from the airport and to city center by bus, Bus stop 1 minute away. I wasn't crazy about paying for parking, when I already paid for the room, but I think that is a Europe thing. Very well run hotel, and excellent staff. Coffee pods only worked half the time, but front desk staff is very good about giving replacement pods

« Very Nice One Night Stay »

A Very Nice Hotel. The room was spacious and very comfortable. A great location as we flew in from Dublin Airport it was nice to have a quick journey to the hotel and when heading into the city to get the train it was only a short bus journey. Stayed here for only one night only as we were travelling to the west of Ireland the next day. Would stay here again next time i'm in Ireland.

« Cozy hotel with friendly staff and good connections to the airport and city. »

This is a cozy hotel with a nice lobby and restaurant. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is good. The room was ok and the beds were confortable. The shower could be better. The WIFI in the hotel is quite unstable. Connections to the city center and the airport are very good because of the nearby bus stop. The roomprices are reasonable.

« Great Experience - Great Hotel - Great Staff - Great Food »

This is our 4th time staying at the Skylon, we use it a lot when flying out from Dublin Airport, would not stay anywhere else. Buses to airport stop at the Hotel on route. The Staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, starting with manager Damien. The Hotel is near many Bars, Restaurants and Shops. It is only a 10 minute or so Bus Journey into the City Centre. The Hotel Bar and Restaurant was very Comfortable, Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Could not recommend the Skylon highly enough - its a Home from Home. Thanks Dave & Mary Lenihan

« Comfortable and great location »

The room was comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great - within 10 minutes of the airport but also easy bus ride into center of town. Free parking - we chose it so we could get a rental car at the airport but not need have to drive it while we were in Dublin. They do not have air conditioning - which is rarely an issue but there was one hot day while we stayed - they provided a fan and with the window wide open we were comfortable for sleeping. The first time we stayed we got a great deal on Booking.com. We decided to book again for our last nights, and it was more expensive booking direct - not sure it was worth the higher price but if you get a deal, definitely stay here. We did get breakfast vouchers when we complained about the higher price - which made it more reasonable. Breakfast is a buffet with a hot selection. Food is OK - Service can vary depending on how busy they are.

Homely feel upon arrival. Staff were lovely. Well furnished. The strawberry water was a nice touch in the lobby. Eggs benedict for breakfast was fabulous. I regret not choosing to eat here the evening of our stay as the breakfast was of such good quality

    « Adequate but stuffy »

We chose this hotel because the price was right and it was close to the airport for an early morning departure. The room was fine, the hotel was quiet but it was incredibly stuffy. You can't open the windows becasue of the noise but there is no air conditioning. Our room did have a fan but be aware if you are booking these rooms and the weather is warm or stormy, particularly if you have 4 people sharing a room as we did. It gets hard to breathe! There are lots of restaurants and takeaways within 5 minutes walk of the hotel so plenty of choices to eat, including a couple of supermarkets. We had a car and you need to pay for parking. The car park out the front in incredibly tight, its a bit easier to park underneath.

    « Comfortable, welcoming hotel »

Lovely comfortable hotel, very accommodating staff. Good restaurant and late night bar. It is a good 45 min walk into Dublin, 10mins taxi €15 each way or bus. Take slot of cash as Dublin is expensive- booked the Guinness tour tickets through trip advisor - the tour is so worth it!

    « Room »

The staff was really helpful. The room was quiet, but wasnt updated, It had an old smell. Hopefuly they will update it. The rooms don't have air conditioning, we had to request a portable fan just to circulate the air. You couldn't open the window because of the noise.

Excellent service!!!! We enjoyed a clean comfortable room with a Nespresso machine. All members of the hotel staff were caring, responsive, super nice, and professional in every way! There isn't street appeal to the facade of the place and the lobby could use a bit of updating, otherwise we stepped inside to find quality and comfort. Then, we had breakfast, which we found to be a huge surprise--we are fussy about food and found lots of healthy choices--definitely worth the $12 EU! We recommend this place and would return ( :

    « Excellent and friendly »

I stay in the Skylon weekly for business and occasionally for weekends away. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly especially Simon in the bar. The new bar is fabulous with a very homely atmosphere. Highly recommend

    « Close to airport »

The rooms were very nice and clean. The room shared by my friend and I had two twin beds. The beds and pillows were clean and comfortable, but the blanket is in sort of a sheet "pocket" so it's not easy to remove the blanket if you're hot. It was unusually warm in Dublin when we were there, even at night. The ability to easily remove the blanket would be helpful. My friend was able to do it eventually by pulling the whole thing out from the bottom of the bed and then pulling the blanket out. Not the easiest process, but doable if necessary. The windows open and there is a fan in the room, which helps. Our room was very small, with barely enough room to get around, but we didn't spend too much time in the room so it was OK. The free wi fi was definitely a perk and something I look for in any hotel. Their Bit Buzz service is a little bit cumbersome though, and disconnected me more than once. A few times when I tried to reconnect, I got a message that there were no open connections. That was very frustrating for me! I used a small laptop, but not sure people with phones had the same problem. The staff was very helpful. They were able to make change for us when we needed it, called the taxi for us and helped with other questions. The lobby is very nice and large, as is the restaurant connected to the hotel. Since it's so close to the airport, it's a good place to stay after arriving or before leaving. We were able to take a bus to the city centre for 2.70 euros (exact change) each way, and then walked to everything we wanted to do there. If the room was just a little bit bigger with removable blankets, it would be perfect!

« New dining area - well worth a visit! »

Visited the Skylon for dinner with friends. It was my first time visiting since the new dining area was introduced. The new menu's - particularly the cocktail and dinner menus are fantastic and very vegetarian friendly which is hard to find in Dublin hotels at times! Big thank you to the Duty Manager and his great team for the excellent service!

« Nice hotel but a bit far from city centre »

The hotel is really nice, with big, clean rooms and nice beds. The bath is not so nice, specially the shower which had low water pressure and no hose. A bit far from the centre but with good transport options nearby. Staff is really kind and helpful.

    « Very Convienient »

Stayed here for one night prior to our departure from Dublin Airport. This was a last minute booking as we were staying in Adare and wanted a hotel closer to the airport for an early departure. After walking around Dublin all day we were two tired couples when we arrived at the hotel. When checking in one room was immediately available and one was not. We were initially told the second room would be ready in one half hour. My wife and I went to our room and the other couple said they would wait. However, within ten minutes they were given a different room so they would not have to wait. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were also given vouchers for the continental breakfast. I don't know if this is available to all but it was nice to receive them. We had rooms with king size beds. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. There is no air conditioning in the hotel but the windows could be opened a small amount to let in the cool Irish air. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant. Normally I am not a fan of hotel restaurants as they are usually overpriced and the food is just OK. However, in this case the prices were reasonable and the food was excellent. Parking was free in the lot on the hotel property. The area is small so it was difficult to maneuver a car but this is based on how others were parked. The spaces are all marked but not everyone aligns with the markings. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Dublin and doesn't mind a short trip in City Centre or to the airport.

    « Great Find| »

First stop in our tour of Ireland. A clean, hospitable and comfortable hotel near the airport. Close to bus line downtown, several nice restaurants, with a full service dining room to boot. Rooms were nicely appointed, sized to European norms. Thirty to forty minutes transit times to Guinness Storehouse, St. Patrick's Cathedral, St. Stephen's Green. Highly recommended|

Rooms: These are comfortable, clean rooms with some neat facilities. Beds are very comfortable. There is tv provided, however very limited channel coverage. Only drawbacks would be that bathroom doors dont lock and that bathroom lights cant be turned on without turning on all other lights in the room. Dining: only tried the breakfast menu. Food was good but there was limited options Facilities: elevator was not working during visit. Surrounding area: very close to bus stops to the main city. Many restaurants outside to dine at. Very quiet area at night which makes noise pollution no issue

    « A comfortable stay »

Spent 5 nights here and they looked after us well. The breakfast was nothing special - had been pre-cooked and was a bit hard by the time it got to us - so we gave it a miss after the first day. Bathrooms were tiny! And the shower screen in our room couldn't be pushed over the bath because there was a grab handle in the way! Nevertheless, I'd stay here again. Half hour walk into the city centre - or you can take a bus/taxi.

    « Great Hotel »

We stayed here the night before an early flight from Dublin airport. We were in a family room which had a double bed and two single beds either side which suits us (2ad & 2ch). The beds were really soft and comfortable (what make are they, would love one for home). We didn't take breakfast as we were away from 5am but did have dinner which was nice and not too expensive although service could have been better. The staff were slow to attend to us. Would definitely stay again.

« Good hotel in good location »

Just back from a one night stay, which we really enjoyed. The room was lovely, bed comfy and good tea/coffee making facilities, including Nespresso machine. Bathroom was a bit small but very clean with nice toiletries. The food in the bar was good as was the breakfast and the staff were just lovely and very friendly. Lots of places to eat just across the road too. Hotel is right on main road so buses easy to get into Dublin City centre, and Croke park was a 30min walk - even at 11.30pm, we felt safe walking back. My only complaint was that the room prices more than doubled the weekend we stayed, due to the fact that Beyoncé and the Stone Roses were playing concerts nearby, but I think most of the hotels nearby did the same! ?? Would def stay again.??

    « Brilliant Birthday »

Taxi from airport to hotel is a set €16 each way, so we got on a number 16 bus at the airport (€33 each for 72 hour hop on off pass for all regular buses and one of the tour buses) which stopped across the road from the hotel, brilliant! We were early so arranged to leave our case whilst we went into town, which is a short bus journey and I think all buses that pass the hotel go into town, so not long waiting ??. You must go on the green tour bus which is included in the hop on/off pass, the guys driving are brilliant, especially MARK he will play jokes on people, sing to you, tell you all about the sights, tells good jokes, as we ran for his bus he just kept driving slowly, then he would stop and once we caught up again he would drive a bit more, everyone on the bus was laughing when we got on ????????, don't forget to leave them a tip they deserve it. The town centre was in a bit of a mess with construction everywhere, would like to go again once it is all finished. The People are lovely very happy and jolly, and very helpful. There is two restarants across from the hotel, and a pub which serves food just abit further down we had a meal in the Italian it was fab. The hotel was very nice, our room was amazing, the staff couldn't of done any more for us, houskeing bought us a couple of bath robes and and extra coffee pods for the nesspresso machine, The wonderful staff on the desk Maja and Saskia were very professional, happy and bubbly, and helped us with our itinerary among other things. We did interact with the staff and I think you need to do this, if you don't ask you don't get, they are all very willing and happy to oblige, I cannot praise them enough.

« The extra wee touches »

Stayed here with 2 friends while attending a concert close by. Whilst checking in we could help ourselves to a glass of prosecco and when checking out there was fresh water with bits of fruit in it. Never seen that before and thought it was a lovely added touch. Triple room was large enough to sleep four as it had a double and 2 single beds. Reception staff and a guy who may have been the manager were friendly.

« Brilliant mid week break »

We stayed in the best western for 2 nights and it was brilliant, very clean, friendly staff and all in a good location. Travelling on the motorway to Dublin it was very easy to locate and on check in we were told parking would be free (normally €5 a day) We had originally booked a double room but were upgraded to executive on arrival for no extra charge. As it was my girlfriends and I's anniversary we had pre ordered prosecco and strawberries in the room, it was laid out properly and they didn't skimp on the strawberries. Would definitely recommend, will be staying here again the next time we're in Dublin

« Great Night Stay In Dublin »

We loved this hotel. It is located on a main road going into the city center. There is a free parking lot in the front. When we checked in a friendly young man named Joseph offered us a glass of wine or water. The check in process was easy. Our room was very modern and decorated in purple. The bed was comfortable. From our window, we could see the Wicklow Mountains over the city of Dublin. Beautiful! The in room Internet did not work too well. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but it was being remodeled and was not ready. The hotel manager was offering two complementary drinks, at the bar, because of the inconvenience. This was a nice touch. The young man at the bar was very friendly. Check out was easy. This hotel is not too far from the airport. We would definitely stay here again.

    « Fine »

It was fine, too far from airport to be advertised as such but otherwise fine. Staff was nice, parking was confusing but ultimately, free. Good chocolates at front counter. Person at front desk was kind.

« Nice hotel and very central »

Stayed here for four nights with a few friends. Hotel is just off O'Connell Street so very close to the shops! About ten minute walk from Temple Bar. Rooms were nice but rather small and hairdryer was in the bathroom and not a great quality therefore I would recommend you bring your own if staying here! Had no complaints about this place and would definitely return!

    « Grubby lobby »

Wouldn't stay again the lobby area at the front is very grubby. Car parking spaces is an issue. Very poor wifi my wifi had to turn on her hotspot to connect to the laptop which cost extra money, this shouldn't happen as we had paid for a service. Very poor and overpriced afternoon tea seemed like everything came from a packet. The older staff are very robotic no enthusiasm it felt like we were just another couple on a conveyer belt of customers. When I asked for an earl grey tea the waiter had no idea what I was talking about. Food was average and the rooms were OK. Won't be recommending to anybody.

    « Fantastic »

Spent 3 nights here. Reception Staff very were very friendly and helpful. Great food (evening meal) in Skylon Bar & Grill. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was worth every cent of the €12 and restaurant staff were brilliant. Would definitely stay here again.

« Great Place To Stay »

Only ten minutes by taxi into the centre of Dublin, great food, comfortable beds but mostly I remember the people who worked at the Skylon professional, nothing was a bother - the most helpful people on the planet! My Dad was in hospital and they arranged for me to stay on past my booking, helped liase laundry and importantly always had a cheery smile and asked how my Dad was. A very personable place to stay, thank you everyone I think you are AMAZING!

« Bar food good but poor service in all areas of the hotel »

We stayed here Saturday to today (Monday) - party of 4 adults. Initial thoughts of the hotel were that it was clean and fairly modern. The bedrooms were very clean but small and the bathrooms, again clean but very small. I found the most disappointing part of our stay was the customer service as it was of a pretty poor standard - this was the case at reception, breakfast and in the bar area. We ate in the bar both nights and Saturday night was particularly poor - we were kept waiting for our order to be taken for quite a while and the food was quite long in being brought to us. The food however was very good. The only exception for customer service was a young waiter in the bar area on Sunday night - again we were kept waiting quite a while on our order being taken and the food coming, but when the young man served us he was very apologetic and was very pleasant - this made up for the waitress who got a bit irate when taking my mothers order because she was ordering a sandwich not on the menu and she didn't want cucumber....incidentally the sandwich came with cucumber. Apart from that, everyone else's food was very good. Overall, I found the hotel to be overpriced compared with other hotels - I would stay here again but only if it was much cheaper. It would be worth spending a little extra to be closer to the city centre.

We could not fault all the staff at The Skylon Hotel. It has a warm friendly atmosphere. We found both Noel and Simon went above and beyond to make sure over stay was welcoming and comfortable. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough.??

« Bar food ok, but service is terrible »

Visited the Skylon for lunch this afternoon with family. There is a new layout in the bar. It's now table service only. The bar was only half full when we arrived so we got a table immediately. It took 20 minutes, and two requests, before our order was taken. We didn't order anything not on the menu so expected a reasonably efficient service. 30 minutes later, our food arrived - except for an extra portion of fries which didn't arrive. The fries never arrived. We had no complaints about the food. It was quite tasty. However, the whole experience was poor. It wasn't for the lack of staff; probably it was because of a lack of attentive staff. The final bill needed to be corrected...yes, the fries that never arrived managed to get onto the bill..! I've had lunch at The Skylon many time in the past. Up until today, it has always been very good. Maybe today was an 'off' day? I'll certainly go back in future, but will hope for better service next time.

    « Amazing!! »

We have stayed at the Skylon Hotel a lot over the years and have to say we have never had a bad experience. Last night was amazing! The managers have made so many renovations, the bar is first class, staff (Ciarón, Simon, Maja and managers Shane and Tara) are so unbelievably friendly, great craic and genuinely lovely people! Skylon Hotel is in a great location, rooms are spacious, clean, complete with lovely wee touches such as water and crisps and overall, the best hotel i've ever stayed at! Already looking for another excuse back!!:) ??????

« Mother and daughters night away »

What a night we had - fantastic staff from check in - room was amazing - so happy with the wee extra touches of bottles of water and crisps - fab! The beautiful new cocktail bar was amazing and the hospitality from kieron, shane, maja and simon and off course the beautiful tara was next to none! To top it all off even though we missed breakfast this morning - a wee cup of tea and toast was no trouble to the amazin staff when we were checking out this morning! We are currently organising our next trip away to stay in the skylon! Best hotel stay ever!! Thank you so much for a memorable night away!

    « It's just OK. »

The location isn't ideal, it's a far walk to Dublin City center, although it is on a bus line. There are a handful of restaurants to walk to, and a small Tesco. The lobby, restaurant and bars are spacious and relatively updated. The servers in these areas were friendly and helpful, as were the housekeeping staff. That's about it as far as good points. Overall we didn't really enjoy this hotel for the following reasons: It is overpriced. The week before we stayed in a castle w/full Irish breakfast complimentary for less than we paid at Skylon. The rooms are quite small, the bathrooms are tiny. While the furnishings are updated, the rooms show their age. Flaking, rusting radiators, cracked and chipped moldings and finishes, water stains in the bathrooms, the hallway sounds are not dampened by the doors at all. Our room was illuminated 24/7 by a bright outdoor light that the blinds could not diminish. No top sheet on the bed, only bottom sheet and duvet. We had to pay for continental breakfast, 12€, which was way too much. It offered nothing hot. The pastries were dry and fruit looked old. We had to pay for using lobby computers, which makes no sense since there is free wifi in the hotel. They were slow to boot, and we kept having to deposit more euros. The printer also didn't work. We had to pay to park there, after spending 399€ per night to stay there. For that kind of money we expect more. It's just ok. For the rates, I'm sure anyone could find better in Dublin.

    « Good location »

Hotel near the bus station (travel time to Dublin Centre is approximately 10-15 minutes), some supermarkets and a Pub. Helpful and friendly staff. Good room service. Overall, it's a pretty nice resort. PS: "Simon is the best".

    « Great as always »

Another great stay. Was in a newly refurbished room with fantastically comfy bed that I did not want to leave. Love the Tassimo coffee machine though maybe they could provide a couple more coffee pods. Again all staff unfailingly polite, an absolute asset to the hotel. Never had a bad stay here, despite all my stays are for hospital appointments it makes things a little easier to have somewhere nice to retreat to.

« Good family hotel, easy location and don't let the outside fool you »

We stayed here with 2 adults and 2 kids after the small rooms of London hotels and it was nice to have a lovely room with a bit of space. At first we wondered if it was a nice hotel at all looking from the street and seeing a very plain building, lots of cars out front and building works but once inside the place looks lovely, comfortable and luxurious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, well presented and make you feel at ease. The free wifi is great although can be a little tricky to log into but if you keep at it, the speeds are good. The room came with complimentary bottles of water and chips as well as enough towels for everyone. For travellers coming from abroad we did notice a few quirks which didn't diminish the stay but are quite different to what we are used to. Rooms don't come with air conditioning which we thought in Ireland you probably don't need, But even with temperatures in high teens and rain, the rooms are quite warm and we pretty much had the window open all day and night and slept above the covers. A fan was provided and used! No bar fridge is provided. Also the water taps run very very hot, so if you have very young kids, be careful, it comes out steaming. Also the bar area is being re-done. Didn't affect our experience, but might be an issue for some. Other than that highly recommend. Bus stops make it easy to get around, small shop across the road, a larger tesco in walking distance and a great fish and chip shop across the road. Easy to get to the airport, taxi is about €20 or bus connections available.

    « As expected »

I took my good Lady for a trip in Dublin as it was her birthday. As we went there last year, I thought I can't go wrong with. As expected, very good services, very nice room, good food. Overall, again, another unforgettable experience with Best Western Hotels. Thank you!

    « Great Hotel »

Even though this hotel was being renovated at the time it was clean, quiet and the staff was extremely friendly. We were a family of 4 (2 adult children) and rented a room with 3 beds. We were there on the night of our arrival and had a few problems which were cleared up on our return visit a few days later. Breakfast and drinks were served in the lobby and again the staff was very accommodating. My only complaint would be due to the parking, very small front lot and the garage very tight. This hotel will probably be even better when the renovation is complete.

    5
« Clean, large rooms, good service »

This hotel exceeded our expectations. On a 2 week trip around England, Ireland, and Scotland, this hotel provided the largest rooms and most knowledgeable front desk staff out of the 6 different hotels we stayed at during our trip. This hotel is located just outside the downtown core so is a little more reasonably priced. We took the city bus in to the main downtown area which was easy and affordable. Downtown is also within walking distance, but you will definitely need your walking shoes! We also took taxi rides a few times back and forth which were affordable. The front desk staff provided us with awesome sight-seeing recommendations. Overall, I would stay here again when visiting the city.

    « dull local hotel »

it is not a city central hotel, it is not a modern luxury hotel. some rooms are dated. there are some interesting restaurants across the street. it is a very noisy hotel in general. there are 3-4 km into the city. breakfast is a bid boring

    « Best Best Western »

What an amazing hotel. I stayed with a few friends here and we loved it. I cannot begin to say how wonderful the staff was. We were given so many great suggestions for food and they all turned out to be amazing. They helped us get taxis and figure out the bus system. The room was super clean and big. There was also a fan! We had a great stay and there is a bus stop right across the street that can get you to the city center. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again next time we are in Dublin.

« Great help on short notice »

Born in Dublin we go back frequently to see my mother. She passed away in May and on short notice we went to arrange her funeral, etc. We always ask for a specific room which can not be guaranteed but we were able to get it! Also, at first booking one night was sold out, but we were placed on a wait list and we were able to stay in same room when an opening came about. All the staff know us and knew why we were there and all went out of their way to give their condolences. Had the post funeral lunch there for family and friends and it was lovely. It is no wonder we keep returning! Great value midway between downtown and the airport, minutes to either. Luxurious? No. But always very clean, comfortable, good food and bar and well cared for in all respects. Very popular for neighborhood events, guests from all parts of Europe as well as US. A home away from home. Thank you to all of them.

    4
« Good hotel, near Dublin Airport »

Very solid place to stay, close to the airport, but far enough away from the crazy Downtown Dublin scene. It's in a nice suburban neighborhood with a couple of good restaurants right across street. I would definitely recommend.

« Comfort and quality at a great price »

Great location between the city and airport. You can take a city bus from the airport to the hotel, and also from the hotel to the city center. (The buses run often, so you don't have to wait long.) The rooms are very nice: quiet, comfortable, spacious, with free WiFi and complementary coffee and tea in the room. The staff at the reception is top-notch and extremely professional. They will help you with the bus routes and give you information on seeing the city. I would definitely stay here again. The price is great for the comfort and quality of the rooms, and I was very impressed with the staff. They even called me to let me know that the airline had tried to deliver my lost luggage to the hotel instead of sending it on the next flight to the states (I had already checked out and was on my flight back to the US, but they took the time to call me and keep me informed, which I appreciated. Thank you!!!). All in all, this is an excellent choice for a stay in Dublin, especially if you are looking for a relaxing and comfortable night's sleep away from the noisy city center.

« Great place to stay and close to airport and downtown area. »

Staff is super helpful. Great to stay to get acquainted with Doblin. buses are amazing as well as cabs. Rooms are small by American standards but very well appointment. Tea and coffee, hot water pot. Beds are very very comfortable. In Ireland everything is super clean and well done.

« Fabulous Hotel first class service »

Fabulous hotel, we were made feel so welcome from the moment we arrived, starting with a complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival, what more could you ask for to start a perfect few days away. Reception staff couldn't do enough for us , from giving us change for the bus and recommendations of what to do in the city , the Viking Splash tour is a must. Room was absolutely gorgeous, spotless and beautifully decorated big king bed, and a nespresso machine in the room too , as 2 coffee lovers this was a welcome treat. Breakfast was first class, everything you could possibly want, the eggs benedict were fabulous , while my husband had the traditional Irish breakfast which was fiit for a king. Lovely at atmosphere in an around the lobby seen a few people having afternoon tea which looked divine , will definitely have this next time we stay there. Food in the Bar & Grill also top notch best Sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection I had in a very long time. Service in both bar and restaurant was 100 percent, nothing was too much trouble ror them. Great hotel to explore the city, first class service from arrival until we left. We will definately be back Skylon , keep doing what you doing !,, We booked direct with hotel and got a very competitive rate, even gave us a little upgrade well received . We will be back.

    « A quick overnight stay »

This hotels location was the reason I chose it I needed to be in close proximity to the hotel for a business meeting. The hotel is nice and the breakfast is nice. The hotel staff were all super nice and accommodating. The downside for me was no aircon and it was a particularly hot day in Dublin. I barely slept during the night. Dublin doesn't normally reach the heat that it had during my stay so I may say that unless it's particularly hot there is no reason I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It has a fairly nice and big lobby and it is fairly dated but this does suit the hotel. I would stay again if I needed to be around that location and I would recommend. Good value for what you receive at this hotel also.

    5
    « Would definitely recommend »

Can't say enough about the friendly helpful staff. Property was tidy and beds were extremely comfortable. Did not have the opportunity to dine there, but will definitely make it a point to do so on future visits. A special thank you to Mia for her assistance

I stayed in the Skylon on numerous occasions and there is never anything to complain about. Great reception staff, food was absolutely lovely in the Skylon Bar and Grill with great selections of cocktail. Had a very good breakfast the next morning at a reasonable price. Absolutely love this hotel, the staff go above and beyond to help. What a fantastic hotel, the room is just wow. This is where you have to stay if you are coming to Dublin..

Myself and my partner stayed in the skylon as well as the rest of my family and their partners. We checked in on Friday and instantly felt relaxed and at home. With a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival it really does give a great first impression. Our room was fantastic (as it always is). Those beds are so hard to get out of once you put your head down. BLISS! We had a family dinner in the restaurant and everyone raved about the quality of the food and the service. Thank you so much to all the staff in the skylon for a wonderful stay!

« Amazing rooms, Amazing staff and so Homely!! »

Stayed here for a week with my Partner while our house was being renovated. When we arrived we got a warm welcome from reception staff and got our bags brought to our room while we enjoyed a glass of complimentary of Prosecco wine in the Lobby, we were off to a good start!! The room we had was spacious, clean, modern and well equipped with everything we needed (including a coffee machine) which was a massive bonus for us as we needed a home from home. The bar was pleasant (a little Dark ) but the food was amazing, we ate in here over the course of the week with the exception of one of the nights, We still pop in now when were near by, There's plenty of restaurants also across the road. Breakfast had one of best selections I've ever come across from a Full Irish fry to cheese boards to Salmon. This hotel really was a 2nd home even if it may have just been for a week, i never thought i would say it but i was sad to leave! When leaving we were told the Bar is getting a complete make over and we are invited back to see it and have a drink with them, and we definitely will! This hotel really was a 2nd home even if it may have just been for a week, i never thought i would say it but we were sad to leave! I would definitely stay here again and look forward to seeing their new Bar and Restaurant! Staff were spectacular and accommodation was top class. Thanks Again Skylon for a Wonderful Stay!

Very nice hotel and friendly staff. Check in was smooth and efficient and room was clean and spacious. I would certainly stay in this hotel again and would absolutely recommend it to all.

Booked last minute family room, very clean and great service, travelling with a disabled child the staff helped with bags to our room and also directions and booking taxis and printing some documents. Sumptious breakfast made all the better by the automatic pancake machine which the children advised was the best invention EVER! Certainly will be back as we have more exploring to do in Dublin and this was a great find, the best value out of the several dublin hotels i have stayed in before. Thanks Skylon!

« Great hotel. Stayed here many times »

Great hotel..stayed there the night before I had surgery. I was too late for any food but as I was fasting they gave me some scones and tea. They were very welcoming and nice. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. With a coffee machine and kettle with tea, coffee pods and biscuits. They also had bottles of water and bags of crisps in the room. I would highly recommend this hotel.

« Superb place to stay - really excellent attention »

Great hotel in a really central location for a lot of amenities. The stand out thing about this hotel is the management and staff - rarely have I felt so welcomed and appreciated, nothing was too much bother and they went out of their way to accommodate any request I had. I think this 'welcome culture' came from the top down as I saw the manager in action and was very impressed. My elderly mother who visited with me was treated like royalty and this made not only a good impression on her and really made her feel valued, but that kind of service also impressed me too. Well done Skylon - would recommend you highly!!!!

    « Amazing room! »

For being in a foreign country, we were expecting a small room; even though we booked a king suite. We had stayed in London the previous six days, and were in a small room in a row house style hotel. When we got to Dublin, we got in early and tried to check in; at around 10 am. Check in was at 2:00 pm, so naturally, our room wasn't ready. We were tired and just took a seat on one of the thirteen couches and swiftly fell asleep. At around noon, the wonderfully nice woman that checked us is in, woke us up to let us know our room was ready. When we got to the second floor, I opened the small door and was welcomed with a large room, large king size bed, two large closets, and a large bathroom. It was such a nice thing, especially since we're American and accustomed to it. We took a nap, with the windows wide open as there is no central air, and woke up to go tour the city. The bed was comfortable and even though it was May, the weather was lovely. The breakfast, if not included in room rate, was €12 a person and it was so amazing. You could choose from the wide selection of pastries, cereals, and breads, or from the hot foods menu. They even had a large selection of gluten free options. Everyone was nice. I didn't notice an ice machine anywhere. There was no vending machine for soft drinks or bottles water. There was water available from a pitcher at the front desk. If.... WHEN we go back, we will stay here. Side note: this hotel is slightly far from the city center, but it is dreadful to find parking there anyway. There is a €5 per day parking fee for parking at the Skylon.

« Best Western Skyline Dublin »

This hotel turned out to be pretty cool. Upon first entrance we noticed the fun, multicolored, comfortable and spacious lobby. The guests were thoroughly enjoying having tea, a drink or a bite there. I couldn't wait to settle in the room only to come down later. For the price, our room was edging toward the higher end side in looks. It was definitely spacious and clean. Down at the reception, the staff literally could not have been more helpful. I had quite a few papers that needed to be printed out and they did it promptly. Breakfast in their large dining room was excellent, again for the price. Their dedicated staff offered prompt and pleasant service. Parking is a little confusing and the entrance drop off is tight. Very pleasant stay.

    « Comfortable Stay »

Struggled on a Monday night to get a hotel in Dublin and ended up staying in the Skylon ahead of an early morning conference start at Croke Park. Rooms were recently upgraded and were very clean and comfortable. Staff on check in and out were very professional and keen to help. Room was on the top floor and lift only goes to the fourth floor but rooms are very quiet which was great. Unfortunately I had an early start so did not get to try the breakfast. Definitely a good alternative on the north side of Dublin or for city centre meetings with plenty of parking. Would definitely recommend and there are some decent pubs and restaurants in the local area. One word of advice - book directly with the hotel as it ended up costing me more via the Roomex web site.

    « Close to Airport »

We stayed here our final night in Ireland because it was close to the airport. The hotel was nice. The bed was comfortable. The towels were great. The biggest disappointment was they played jazz music in the bar rather than Irish music. There are a few pubs and restaurants walking distance, which was nice.

    « Hen party »

Stayed here end of may for a hen party 3 rooms with 8 of us hens . Fantastic, warm friendly hotel with great staff who would do anything for you. Only downside it cost a bit in a taxi roughly €20 to Dublin and €16 to Airport. Which all added up breakfast was lovely but I don't think it was worth €12 and the rooms are ridiculously hot we was in room 127 and it was so warm and we couldn't open window as over kitchen so stunk of fat all the time! Thank you for a great stay.

« Older place, but has class. »

You can see the age on the inside, but that's not necessarily bad. While aging, it still maintains an old world upper class presence. Other than a lack of soundproofing, I have no complaints. The attached restaurant is very nice as well, but the prices are rather high for what you get. You can go across the road to the Ivy House and get a very good meal for a better price. The staff were also very courteous and professional. Again, aside from soundproofing, this hotel lacks little.

just spent the weekend at the skylon with six friends and my hubby to celebrate my 50th birthday. we got the local bus from the airport very convenient as its right on the bus route, check in was easy and they took the bags in while we went out to eat as we were there too early. rooms are lovely and spacious and have everything you need, bed is huge! breakfast not included but bought one each morning full irish very tasty. spent the sat at the hotel bar where they had a singing group who were excellent! sang non stop for two hours. its a bit of a way from the city but we walked it three times but there are plent of buses and taxis ,taxi cost about ten euro from o Connell street to hotel . lovely touch from hotel was champagne and chocolates in my room on my birthday. hubby and I said we would def stay here if we came back to Dublin and def will as we loved it

    « Perfect for Croke »

Great location close to stadium. Staff were helpful and we were able to drop bags and leave them in storage free of charge. Also late check out at 13:30 was free. Room was clean and bright. Bed and shower both great. Bit far out from city centre but 10euor taxi takes you in and it's perfect walking distance to croke park. For staying there for a a concert in the stadium it couldn't be faulted

    « A great stay »

My wife and I stayed here recently to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We wanted to do some touristy things in Dublin and found the Skylon the perfect location. It's just outside the city centre but is only a short hop in a bus or a taxi. It's also only 10 mins from Dublin port and Dublin airport. The surrounding area has plenty of good quality restaurants and and pubs if you don't want to eat in the hotel. There is parking on site that we weren't charged for. Check in was quick and we were given complimentary breakfast. We had a chat and mentioned it was our wedding anniversary. We were only in our room when there was a knock on the door. They had sent us up a complimentary bottle of prosecco which was a lovely touch. The rooms a well appointed with iron, ironing board, safe, coffee machine and hair dryer. The bed was really comfortable and a good shower. Breakfast is served at your table with a great selection. You don't have to walk along like a convict slopping food onto your plate. The whole hotel has a great sense of Dublin which was refreshing. So many hotels in Dublin are all the same now you could be anywhere but the Skylon still feels like you're in Dublin. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay in Dublin. Top class

    « Excellent Stay »

Stayed at the Hotel for 5 night, rooms are very clean and spacious, lots of natural light and bathrooms are very tidy. Staff are extremely friendly and also very Helpful. The food in the restaurant is also very good if you decide to stay in. Wi-fi can play up a bit but while on holiday i doubt you'll be needing it. Will surely visit again in the near future.

« Excellent value for money »

This was the fourth time that I've stayed here on business. The hotel is a little unprepossessing from the outside, but this belies a very friendly and relaxed internal ambience. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful, and the rooms have been well-presented. Breakfasts are good and the bar meals are fine. I understand that it's a short bus or taxi ride into the centre. It's a hotel well worth considering for travellers on a budget.

« Comfortable Accommodations and Great Service »

We are never disappointed with the room or the service when we stay at the Dublin Skylon Hotel. The rooms are very comfortable with all the amenities needed for a great stay. The hotel's breakfast has a wide array of choices at a very affordable price. The hotel also has a great bar with an excellent bar staff and great food for lunch and dinner. The front desk staff and management are also very helpful and listen to your needs.

« Simply perfect at a time of need »

I had reason recently to have urgent hospital surgery for my teenage daughter in the centre of Dublin and needed accommodation which was near enough to allow for emergency access to the hospital. The Best Western Skylon had been recommended and turned out to be absolutely perfect. Everything, from the kindness and compassion of the staff when booking to the reception, food, accommodation itself and even the banter in the lively bar helped to alleviate a very stressful situation and make a difficult trip much easier. I would not hesitate to recommend the Skylon and will undoubtedly be back.

Lovely friendly olde world hotel. The full Irish breakfast was a lovely start to the day. The bar/dining room had a lovely feel with friendly helpful staff. It was nice to be able to open the windows. The bus has good access to public transport to both the city and the airport

    « Great hotel »

Recently visited Dublin on a stag do and stayed at this hotel. Very comfortable and really friendly staff with a great breakfast. The rooms were clean and tidy. Staff were also very helpful from ringing taxis to looking after your bags after you have checked out. Highly recommend if I visit Dublin again I would stay here again.

« Convenient Airport Hotel With a Great Pub »

Spent one night at the Skylon prior to an early-morning flight. This hotel is a quick taxi ride to Dublin Airport. It's clean, with lovely rooms and an even better pub. We were a group of 4 who intended on having an early night due to our flights but ended up staying up much later than planned because we enjoyed the pub so much! Great drinks, food and atmosphere. Although it isn't in city centre, there are some nice restaurants nearby and the National Botanical Gardens are within walking distance - a great stop if you have a few hours to explore. The team at the Skylon are very friendly and helpful if you need anything at all.

« not in city centre but easy to get to »

This hotel is on a busy bus route from the airport,so transfer to airport and city center are easy. The rooms are clean and spacious with tea/coffee hairdryer and one of the best beds I've slept in. They do offer meals but we chose to eat elsewhere. We arrived early morning and the reception staff were happy to store our luggage so we could do a bit of sightseeing . We ate at a pub across the road . (not directly across a few mins walk towards city center) . The food was awesome.

« Affordable, classic hotel rooms with good, dependable service staff and easy access to City Center. »

I stayed in Dublin for 10 days and needed an affordable hotel. The Airbnb thing just seems like a lot of hassle and variables to me...I like the dependability and oversight of a hotel. I also preferred an escape from the craziness and partying that happens in Dublin City Center. It is still very close to the City Center, yet far enough away for quiet bliss! I just jumped on any number of bus that arrived right in front of the hotel. For about 2.70 Euro I was at the Temple Bar or Grafton Street in no time at all. And those buses plow through traffic with those lovely bus lanes. Before I moved to Europe (I'm an American, or as we say these days a 'Canadian') I often was drawn to taxi's, but as I have lived in the EU for over 2 years now, public transport is the way to go if you know what your doing. I often walked to the City Center from the hotel as well...and back to the hotel...I nice stroll after a few Guinesses!!! I had a King suite on the street side and it was very quiet with the windows closed and not so bad with them open. Staff were very nice and very competent. This is just a nice, dependable, standard hotel. Bath was nice, good shower with great water pressure. Good storage space. NO FRIDGE though...kind of a bummer. There is a SPAR liquor store/ kiosk right across the street. They probably don't supply fridges because they would like to make the extra money of you buying your drinks from the bar down stairs....which is just good capitalism....can you blame them? It was very easy to saddle up to their FULL SERVICE BAR downstairs. I could easily bring a drink or two back to the room...good for those classic rainy, Dublin days! There's no bad weather, just improperly dressed people! The bed was very comfortable, I must say! Nice pillows...all good! I got great sleep here every night. The food was just so/so. The breakfast was typical Irish breakfast buffet and expensive for what it was....12 Euros. There are a few restaurants right across the street and an AMAZING breakfast/ lunch spot walking distance up the street...The Lovely Food restaurant...wow, what a place! It got my first 5 star review! I went there everyday...open at 8:30...everything GREAT! I would pass on the the room rate that includes breakfast and really enjoy the neighborhood eats! All in All....weigh the cost of taking a bus to city center on a daily basis. I spent about 6 euros daily on bus fare. That added up to about 60-70 euros for the trip...if you saving money to get a cheaper room, but spending the savings on bus trips...just see if it makes sense first. A 3 night trip that saves you 100 euro to be away from city center like this might not make sense if you spend that bus fare in a closer-to-the action location where you walk everywhere. One thing I loved about this location though...it was a great insight into a working class neighborhood...I got to take walks and see how Dubliners live...not just the tourist areas. It was very pleasurable! All in all, I thought the Skylon was great for what I needed, serviced me very good and would go back! Excellent WiFi too...work constant and well the entire time!

    « Good stay »

Skylon dublin has fine rooms with an excellent bar which hosts live music(folk when i was there). Food is good quality and internet outstanding at 25 meg. If you want to dine out there are 3 resteraunts just over the road. Central dublin is a short bus/taxi away. My stay was very enjoyable...even though working.

« One night stay in dublin »

Excellent location as we were attending the hospital in glasnevin. The room was beautiful, bar food was good and the service was excellent. Staff in reception were friendly and helpful. However my overall view is the hotel is quite expensive and in my view was not good value for money

    « Great staff »

This hotel offer excellent family packages and are great value for money from arrival at reception to the bar staff and housekeeping staff everyone was first rate the rooms are large and very clean . The parking is a great asset at €5 per day . This hotel doesn't claim to be 5 star hotel it is a good 3 star with great staff thumbs up well worth a visit

« Definitely one of my all-time favs »

The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful, which makes quite a difference after a long day of travel. The building itself is spacious, well-decorated and distinctly European. My favorite part of all was the breakfast. LOVED IT.

    « Dublin City break »

I recently stayed at the best Western hotel in Dublin...its a clean friendly hotel ...it is central to all shops bars and restaurants..the rooms are of a decent size and the staff were very helpful . There is a hop on hop off bus right outside the hotel ...this runs every 10 minutes and takes you on a bus tour. ..you can leave the tour at anytime and hop on the next bus...this is ideal to see the sights of Dublin

    « Great Hotel »

I have stayed in this hotel often, when attending Donegal matches in Croke Park. I could not complain about it, the hotel is always clean, staff are always friendly and helpful, the hotel is in a great location, for going into the city with the bus stop just across the road. The bar also has a good atmosphere, especially on match days. Hoping to be staying here a few more times this year!!!

« I stayed at this hotel before I went to the airport »

This hotel is in Drumcondra and I booked it prior to flying from Dublin Airport, my stay was okay and the hotel offers good value for money when booked in advanced, it's location would also be suitable for events at croke park should you wish to stay in Dublin

« The worst part of my Ireland Trip »

Like my title states, this was the worst experience and value of my 8 night Ireland Trip. As someone who is in this business I was not impressed. One of the things that made me upset was watching a TV documentary on this Hotel on my last night in Ireland while staying closer at one of the nearby Airport Hotels and how they stated on television what their prices were, yet the price I paid was so much higher. Yet they informed me my price was quite cheaper than their advertised rates. I am not sure why so expensive for a hotel that is still a 10 min taxi ride away from the downtown area. I guess to help compensate for the recent upgrades. Another thing, like one reviewer mentioned before and that was the rude attitude at the front desk. Again as someone who is in this business I did not find the front desk very inviting to help. But the thing which upset me the most was the lack of service. I had a early Shuttle Bus so I had to leave the hotel at 6:55 am to be downtown by 7:10am. I has asked the guy at the front desk if I could just grab a glass of orange juice and muffin to go. His reply was sure that will be 12 Euros. Seriously I said. You going to charge me 12 euros for that. I was not informed upon booking this hotel that breakfast was not included. But I would never charge my customers for a basic glass of orange juice or a muffin if they could not make breakfast due to a early departure. I was completely taken back by this and from the lack of Irish charm and kindness that I experienced everywhere else in Ireland. Not sure what countries two of employees where from but definitely not Irish. It still makes me upset now several days later that this is the service that was given to me. Then to make things worse they tried to charge me upon checkout for a breakfast that I did not have. Overall I would not stay here again unless they refunded me for a portion of my bill as thats how upset I was.

    « One night stay »

Myself and friend stayed here for one night - it was close to a hospital we were going to visit a friend in. Lovely room very clean and tidy. We had dinner and the food was nice. The breakfast the following morning was brilliant. The only downfall was we found the receptionists ( quit a few ) when checking out very rude. This was the only downfall though. Other than that it was a nice stay.

    « 5 Day break in Dublin »

Excellent hotel, brilliant staff, so friendly and helpful, the room was amazing, as was the food and the service. The room was serviced every day, the reception area was so relaxing, we would sit and have afternoon tea, it was very peaceful. I left a tea shirt behind and the staff posted it home to me.....can't fault that! We will certainly return.

« Expensive for what and where it was »

Visiting Dublin for the 2nd time in 2 months for a friend's birthday weekend. Flights from the uk were really cheap, same couldn't be said for accommodation. Hotel was a lot further out than we wanted but everywhere else booked up. The room was spacious and clean. For the price we paid per night there was no breakfast included, the room needed some TLC touch ups, room was hot and left you very dry mouthed in the morning (no way to turn heating down) bathroom was tiny (it did have a half sized bath) and room 113 close to the cleaners cupboard so for the 2 mornings we were disrupted by clattering and talking-not appreciated. For us our main disappointment was we didn't feel this hotel reflected the price, especially considering its location. We stayed opposite Christ church cathedral last time and this was nearly half the price we paid here.

    « Very impressed! »

Stayed one night for a family event. A glass of prosecco on check in was a lovely treat and set the tone for our stay! A small mix up on our room booking was quickly sorted with no fuss. The room was clean, nicely decorated and the bed was very comfy. The nespresso machine in the room was great too! Dinner and breakfast were lovely, as were all the staff. We were overall very impressed with this hotel and would recommend it.

    « A week in Dublin »

As my husband and I were staying for a week, we were upgraded to a master suite on check in. We were also given complimentary breakfast vouchers. The room was fine, but unfortunately there was nota single drawer or shelf in the room in which to store our underwear/socks, and other small items. This meant we were living output of our suitcase for the whole week. It probably sounds petty, but it is one of my pet hates about hotel rooms. Breakfast was nice, location was good, with plenty of buses right outside the hotel. Even one that went right to the airport. All members of staff were very friendly and really helpful. There are several pubs and eateries right across from the hotel, and while it is on a busy road, there are many pedestrian crossings to make it safe to cross. I would recommend this hotel. I believe it is undergoing a refurbishment, and hopefully there will be a couple of drawers the next time I stay here.

    « Much Improved »

This place has improved a lot. Executive type room was clean and fairly modern. Added bonus of in-room nespresso machine, bottled water and crisps. Free wi-if worked well. OK so the TV was not the most modern. Breakfast much better than I previously remembered both in terms of choice and quality. And the rate paid on a Tuesday evening was an absolute steal. Couldn't fault it.

    « Excellent friendly service »

As a frequent visitors to the skylon hotel we would just like to say that we always get excellent service from all the staff but especially from Noel, Sophie and Jana. We often have family gatherings at the skylon hotel and are always greeted with great warmth and friendliness by the aforementioned staff. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel??

    5
    « Excellent »

Great hotel, fantastic staff, one waiter in particular, Noel, was very hetlpful, recommended for solo or couples. The location is great as well as only 20 minutes from Town centre. It's locAted in a nice little suburb, easily accessible to city, airport and the rest of Ireland depending on where you're heading

    3
« Not central, but ok »

It`s quite far from the centre, need to take the bus which lasts around 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Bus only possible with the right amount of coins; not possible to buy external. The reception was very nice and helpful, the room was enough big and clean. There is no air-condition, which was ok for us due to the bad weather, but in summer....ok, because it`s a 3-star hotel with a fair price. Not possible to open windows! What we really missed was a refrigerator in the room, so that we could use cold water

    « Hen Do »

We where welcomed with champagne afternoon tea which got us set up for the day while they checked us in with no hassle. When we where ready to hit the Pubs they arranged taxis for us! Very acomodating to our group nothing was a hassle and we were made feel very welcome! Rooms where excellent very clean and comfortable and Sunday Lunch was very reasonable and Tasty!! Will definately stay again!!!

« Good location, friendly service »

This hotel is right on the bus line to downtown and to the airport. There are restaurants across the street with good food - Chilli Banana (Thai food) and Restaurant 104. We stayed here two nights at the beginning of our trip and two nights at the end of our trip. We were in the back of the hotel the first time which doesn't have the traffic noise but did have a barking dog for a while. I would suggest a back room. The breakfast cost the same for continental or with hot food. The food was good except the scrambled eggs were on the wet side. There was a wide selection of gluten-free cereals and toast was available. The restaurant food for dinner was less impressive and we only ate there once.

    5
    « good hotel »

Stayed in the hotel for 2 nights, not particularly cheap but good quality and friendly staff. Bus stops are not far from the hotel and then it is fine to go to the center. A few restaurants close to the hotel as well.

    « A very good comfortable hotel »

We stayed for three nights while visiting some of our favourite haunts in Dublin. The hotel is off the city centre but on a main bus route for the airport and city making it easy to travel around. When arriving at the hotel we were allocated a room with an air conditioning unit(?) outside the room making the room quite noisy. We requested a change of room and were immediately allocated a quiet room. We found all the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was good and the service first rate. We had a bar meal for dinner one night and found the food to be OK. The hotel is a bit pricy but so are all the hotels in Dublin. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will use the hotel again when visiting Dublin.

    5
    « Great stay »

We stayed at the Skylon for 4 nights at the beginning of April. This was our 2nd stay and it will not be our last. We arrived at the hotel early but our room was ready and we were able to check in. The receptionists were very helpful and booked a taxi for us whenever needed. Everyone serving in the bar was very friendly, especially Kieran. We enjoyed listening to his experiences over the years. We ate dinner in the bar on our first night and it was very nice. Unfortunately the night we wished to eat in the restaurant it was closed. We had breakfast bought to our room on our first morning but I found that very expensive for what you get. I would strongly recommend this hotel. The city centre takes approximately 10-15 minutes on a bus and this can be caught from opposite the hotel.

    4
« A 'country' hotel (nearly) in the middel of Dublin - great atmosphere! »

A "home from home" today, as it has always been. A little bit of the "country" in the city. An old charm and courtesy, not so readily available any more. It's a good hotel and the breakfast characters and style of breakfast service is nearly from another age. The bar/restaurant staff are engaging at lunch time, and the portions are plenty country. Worth an old time visit / appreciate the individual service!

    « Brilliant hotel »

This is a lovely hotel with very friendly helpful staff. We stayed in a king superior room which had free wifi, coffee machine, bed had fabulous mattress and was spotlessly clean. Staff cannot do enough for you. It's 15 minutes from the town centre with a bus stop outside. There are a couple of really good restaurants opposite ( Italian was fab) hotel also serves some really good and tasty food. Live music Thurs Fri Sat and a jazz player on a Sun. Breakfast was lovely with so much choice.

    « Lovely service »

Fantastic stay. The staff is honestly the best I have seen in my whole uk trip so friendly nothing is a issue. The bar and grill down stairs is fantastic great value and really nice food and drinks. Breakfast was lovely and the main male waiter (didn't catch his name) was very professional and very helpful served us each day we were there. Would recommend again

    « Never again !!!!! »

We arrived late in the evening , we had e-mailed in advance to inform hotel of late arrival , on arriving in jumpers that mentioned the uk on them it was commented that we were no longer in uk and we should not be seen In them , this made us feel completely uncomfortable , check in from then foward was akward and unsettling , we entered room which is a little dated but adequate very clean , but that is all we literally went to sleep awesome early and checked out we couldn't wait to leave , we never ate , drank or used any facilities due to being made feel so unwelcome , from a professional point of view shocking on running a nationwide business myself , if any of my staff conducted theirselves in this manner I would be appalled and ashamed we use hotels regularly through business but will definitely be using this one very disappointed

    « Great hotel »

We wanted a hotel that offered good value for money but in Dublin that can be very expensive. The Skylon is nice and close to the city but far enough that you arnt being charged stupid prices. The room has everything you need with TV, tea/coffee facilities, safe and even an iron. The bed was comfortable and we didn't experience any outside noise. However it has got to be the warmest hotel I have ever stayed in. We had to turn of the radiators and open all the windows to make it bearable to sleep in. Bus wise the number 16 takes you from the airport to the hotel front door, and the same bus takes you into town. Great hotel and would definitely stay again.

    3
    « Pleasant hotel »

The first impression of this hotel was mixed. The outside is a tad run down, however when we entered the longe/reception area we were pleasantly surprised. Light, bright and tastefully decorated with comfortable chairs and a really nice ambience. The dining area, bar and breakfast areas were equally pleasant. We had to pay extra for our breakfast and the selection was quite good. The bedrooms were quite dated and in need of some decoration as some parts were a bit grubby, especially the carpets. Noisy neighbours disturbed our sleep throughout the whole of one night so not much sleep but that's not the hotels fault. All in all a nice stay and we would give this hotel another go.

    « meht »

This hotel was very basic, the room I stayed in needed upgrading. the room was clean though which was the main thing. the best part of my stay was the staff, they were all extremely helpful. It's fine if you want to be near Croke park but if you are planning on going to the city its costly (especially in a taxi - twenty euro from train station t hotel). the food was alright, I got room service and the chips were cold and at a cost of four euro it just wasn't good enough. the guests next door to me were smoking even though it was a non smoking floor. It cost 100 euro (not inc breakfast) for the night and it was the worst 100 ive spent this year so far. Reallllllllly not worth it. I have stayed in several much nicer hotels in the city - the reason I stayed here was because I had a meeting in Croke park the following day, would not stay again.

    4
    « Good quality hotel »

We stayed here as a family of four in a large comfortable, clean room for two nights. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. We took a bus in to Dublin centre, which we caught from just across the road. It was a quick and cheap way to get into the city, as it only took about 10/15 mins. Be aware, the bus only accepted change and not notes as payment. We would stay here again.

    5
« Close to the airport and city centre. »

I have stayed here twice before and I have always enjoyed by stay. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and quiet. There is a SPAR across the road for shopping if necessary. It is close to the airport and city centre.

    « Nice Easter stay »

Family of 4 stayed at the Skylon Hotel over Easter. Reception staff very helpful and check in was painless, family room was fine and food was great although we only had breakfast. Safe car parking is an other big plus for this hotel. It's probably too far out to walk to the city centre but its on a regular bus route & a taxi is E15 to O'Connell St. We were visiting for an important historical event and a really nice touch was that at breakfast a member of staff gave us an excellent pictorical guide. Really enjoyed the stay, definitely consider the Skylon Hotel if you visit Dublin.

« Excellent stay at the Skylon »

The Skylon is quiet, comfortable and clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly! We would definitely stay there again. The free parking was a bonus! The breakfast was very good and not just the same old boring buffet.

    « Fantastic »

The lobby of the hotel was beautiful, it always seemed busy with people having drinks and enjoying the live bands that were playing. The food in the restaurant/bar was amazing and the staff were incredibly friendly, although it took a while for the cocktails to come over (new staff member was working I think) but when it did come it was great. The room was incredibly clean and presented well, we left a 'do not disturb' sign on the door but we were still left with a bag of fresh towels and toiletries which I thought was amazing as I have never seen it done at any other hotel I have stayed at. I will definitely come back when I'm next in Dublin

    5
« Good location, comfortable rooms »

Stayed for two nights, one when we arrived and one on our last night in Ireland. Staff friendly and helpful - easy check in and check out. Responsive to concerns; when we got to our room after check in there was an odd odor and they moved us right away with 4 complimentary drinks in the restaurant for our inconvenience. Free parking was a bonus. Rooms clean with expected amenities and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay again and would recommend.

« Very clean and lovely. »

Had a lovely stay at Skylon, very clean, great location from city centre. Also right by train station for travelling out of Dublin. However hotel is very warm and stuffy, pillows not to comfy either. The bed, however was very comfy.

One night stay approx 3 miles from city but on regular bus route.car parking at a minimum charge of €5 a 24 hr period.very friendly and accomodating staff.room clean and very comfortable no complaints.breakfast very good.only issue was our room was on same level as flat roof to side/rear with noisy aircon plus pair of filthy socks outside our window so i suggest cleaners look outside hotel and retrieve same which are in easy reach no h& s issues but were disgusting along with endless fag butts hence the reason we kept our curtains closed !

Arrived at hotel early on Easter Saturday was presently surprised when handed a class of wine as a welcome. The staff were very friendly and helpful the lobby area was packed but the counter staff dealt with our group quickly and efficiently. The atmosphere in the hotel was very positive. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and clean there was Easter chocolate bunnies on the table and all sorts of coffee tea and extras at hand .The bar staff were very good and chatty which was good they answeredany questions we asked them .Food was well prepared and tasty so all in all a great weekend and yes will be back well done Skelton 10 out of 10

« Well priced for Dublin »

I stayed here along with seven other colleagues in January because they were the only hotel I could find in Dublin that offered me a meeting room for the following day that reflected the fact that we were buying eight bedrooms. All the others were looking for obscene money and were happy to forfeit the 8 rooms as well. Accomodation was excellent and the staff very accommodating. The night porter was very courteous and obliging (unlike many these days) and the breakfast was super. I will stay again soon.

« Great place to stay the night before leaving from Dublin »

We like this hotel better than the onsite airport hotels, as it is quieter, and the restaurant has better food. It is just a short hop via taxi to the airport, and we can leave refreshed on an early flight.

    « Beautiful hotel! »

This hotel was amazing. I could not be happier with my experience. I've stayed in a Best Western before and really enjoyed it but this was particularly nice. First of all, the lobby is really pretty. The exterior looks a bit worn but inside it's lovely. We arrived 5 hours early, but the staff made us comfy in the lobby (I even fell asleep here for an hour or so), they took our bags and served us hot drinks. As soon as they had a room they called us over and let us up 2 hour early. There were 4 of us in a room, with two big, ridiculously comfy beds. The room was a good size and very clean, with a flat screen TV, kettle, towels, toiletries, etc. The room also had free wifi which was a plus. The only downside was that the room got quite hot, and there weren't many plug sockets. I'm not sure if this is a problem in very room and there may have been more outlets behind the beds, but there were only 2 outlets, and as young girls who are addicted to their phones, we could have done with at least an extra 2. It wasn't too much of a problem though and we were really pleased with the room overall. Every time we went downstairs the staff asked us if we needed a taxi. We had leap cards, however, and there were several bus stops outside the hotel. Really easy to get into central Dublin. We didn't pay to have free breakfast but on our last morning we payed 12 euros and it was delicious. It was a buffet and also they served main hot food which was all really yummy. Overall I could not be happier with this place, they were so accommodating and the room was wonderful. Thank you Best Western, never disappoint.

« Second stay at the Skylon, excellent stay »

This was my second stay at the Skylon and it was an improvement on the first due to the excellent room I was allocated. The room was far superior to the one on my first visit, fixtures and fittings were all upgraded in comparison. The hotel is in an excellent location for the airport - you can catch the number 16 bus from the airport to opposite the hotel for €2.70, bargain! We walked to the centre of Dublin, which is a good distance, but should not take more than 30 mins. Staff are excellent, there is a good bar, what more could you ask for?

    « Bad Service »

Called to the Skylon last week for food in the bar ... A busy bar ... Under staffed ... All I could see were 2 floor staff, one male that was pretty abrupt and impatient while taking my order( probably due to bad manners ), and a young female who appeared out of her depth ( probably due to lack of training), food was just ok. Two barmen, one a young non national, doing his best to learn and a more mature gent who was less then helpful and had a long conversation about when he was in the USA . This is a 3 star hotel with a 1 star service. Our table had dirty dishes on it for 25 minutes after we had finished our meal ... Nobody offered desert and when I asked the bill from the female waiter she walked away empty handed and returned with the bill, and once again left the dirty dishes and walked away empty handed .... Dirty Table .... No Desert .... No Coffee .... Just Bye Bye ....... So Bye Bye Skylon Hotel .... Maybe you should get a secret shopper weekly if you are interested in sorting out your service .... Not Hotel Quality Staff ,!!!!

« Nice hotel in nice part of Dublin »

Comfortable rooms, very warm and can get a lot of street noise at night but a classy hotel with extremely helpful staff. Shower was useless but otherwise a great hotel! ?? Plenty of parking on site and underground.

    « Great find! »

Pleasantly surprised to find this gem in Dublin. Staff was accommodating; decor pleasing. Only issue was the heat in the room. Called the desk and told to shut off the radiator. Need to leave the windows open to be able to sleep despite the fact that it was chilly outside.

    « Restaurant Visit »

I ate dinner here recently. The quality of the food did not match up to the prices. There was nothing spectral about the three courses; the guacamole was even out of a jar. Slightly disappointed but I suppose hunger is the best sauce!

    « Weekend break »

Stayed last Saturday and Sunday March 26 with six other couples the staff were excellent and helped in every way they could the food was great and reasonable price. It's handy for parking and you can get a bus outside to the city centre. I highly recommend The Dublin Skylon Hotel and will definitely be back .

« Great value well appointed hotel »

Have just returned from a most pleasant visit to this hotel. Whilst this may be rated in some circles as a 3 star hotel, in reality in terms of comfort, price, friendliness and excellent accomodation it merits at least a 4.. The bedrooms have all the necessities one would want including fresh milk in a jug if you wish! Safes and clean fresh bathroom are all there. The location is just right either for visiting the city or accessing the airport. A hot full cooked breakfast is served to your table. It is a pleasure to be welcomed with a smile and an real effort to be helpful.Even a coffee if your room isn't ready! Have absolutely no hesitation in recommending most highly this hotel. Will definitely be back.

We walked into OConnell Street which took 20 mins although there are buses every 5 mins passing the hotel up & down from city centre. Location great plenty of bars and shops within 1 minute from hotel also the cleaning staff were great keeping us up on clean towels teabags coffee etc. we are now looking at booking a further reservation for this wonderful hotel Thanx to everyone for a great stay in your hotel from Sandra & family

« An Excellent Easter Treat »

Me and my girlfriend stayed here during the Easter period and had an amazing time. Staff at the hotel are extremely helpful and always on hand to answer any questions. The rooms are superb and kept to a high standard with all amenities and fresh linen/towels everyday. The hotel bar is also superb and reasonably priced for both its drink and food. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dublin.

    « Still love this hotel ... »

We booked last minute due to a stressful change in travel plans. We booked this hotel as we'd stayed there before & knew it was lovely & were not in the frame of mind to take risks, needing a comfortable night's sleep after a long hot bath. Well, it hasn't changed. Friendly staff, comfortable lobby with squishy sofas for people watching & chillaxing. The deluxe room (only) cost €79 & was super comfortable. We ate across the road at the Ivy house as we knew the food & atmosphere was good. Dublin City centre is a short bus ride away. We'll be back again, no doubt about it.

    « friendly and nice »

First night for me was stressful so when I came staff at reception was great! Friendly helpful and make everything that my stay at hotel was super nice Rooms are pretty big and clean, same goes for bathroom Hotel is 10min from city center with taxi 8-15€ With bus 2.70€ number 16 or 41 Hotel restaurant has some really good dishes From airport 10-15min away On the other side of street are some pretty nice restaurants from pub to Italian cuisine If I my path goes again to Dublin I'll absolutely stay again at this hotel

« Modern comfy and Great location »

Lovely rooms and travelled with family of 2 small kids for a one night stay. Location is superb and close to all bus routes if you want to visit the city. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Chocolates on pillows and complimentary bottled water and crisps a lovely touch and the kids loved it! Rooms really spacious, quiet but a little too warm if I was to fault in any way! The pancake machine and nespresso at breakfast made it one of the best hotel breakfasts to date and we have travelled alot! We also met the owner and after a brief chat with this lovely gentleman we are not a bit surprised of the high standard this hotel achieves:) Overall great value for money, top class rooms and friendly staff and the breakfast alone is worth the stay!

    4
    « Comfortable and Clean »

Excellent rooms, well maintained, there's a breakfast to suit all tastes, while the lunchtime and evening the menus in the bar are reasonably priced, have a good selection across the range, and can be washed down with a good choice of beers, ales and anything else your palate desires

    5
    « Ideal location »

All the staff were excellent nothing was too much triuble and they were all so friendly 10 mins from the city of Dublin , an abundance of buses with a bus stop right outside 15 min walk to croke park stadium too .. Will definately be back

    « Mini Reunion 2016 »

A weekend away for past pupils of Ard Lughaidh. We got together for chatting, eating, drinking (some more than others, you know who you are!) and our stay in adjoining rooms in the Skylon was perfect. Lovely hotel and very close to town.

    « great value »

Stayed at the skylon for two nights we where a group of 14 women and found the rooms clean and comfortable the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast great. No faults at all. Good location as in between dublin centre and airport, taxi around 10 to 12 euro. The room rates are excellent and we would certainly stay at the skylon again.

    « Comfort »

Excellent location for ease of access. Dublin city 10 minutes, motorway 10 minutes airport 15 minutes. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was only superb with hot food cooked to order. Rooms spacious and clean, plenty of hot water.

« Well located, quiet and nice big bed, Parking a bit of an issue »

This was our second stay. Arrived quite late so it was a bit of hassle to park and eventually had to squeeze into a corner of the underground car park. Our room was as the end of the corridor next to fire exit so we had no foot traffic going passed our room. The room was quite small and not well laid out but for one night's stay it was fine. We love the fact there is an Pod coffee maker provided with 2 free pods - could have done with more which I am sure you can get if you ask but we didnt bother this time. Bathroom again very compact but has good size towels not overly starched and good quality toiletries. Bed was HUGE which we loved,I found the mattress a little had but suited my husband perfectly. The room was very warm, no AC so we had to turn off the radiator. Our room was at the front of hotel on main road but with the window closed we were not disturbed by any outside noise. Both had a good night's sleep which was well needed due to an early morning hospital appointment and we will be most likely return for any future stays. The public area has plenty of space and seemed nice and relaxed All staff we met were unfailingly helpful and polite.

    « Nice hotel but ... »

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and each time is a different experience. On this occasion, the check in receptionist didn't seem particularly interested and the waitress in the bar area seemed particular disinterested and not particularly helpful. The room itself was nice as ever , but the bed not particularly comfortable. Having said that all of this, it hasn't put me off choosing to stay here again.

We stayed here for the country comes to country concert in the 3 Arena. When were arrived the staff on the front desk were great they agreed to book us a taxi to take us to the concert. Our room was facing the main road which suited us as we could see all going on. The staff throughout the hotel were great, we will stay again. The Bar staff were also very good crack.

« Great week in the Skylon Hotel »

Brought a group of 54 from DeSales University to Ireland and stayed in the Dublin Skylon Hotel and had a blast. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was great and bar food was good also. Totally recommend it.

    « Great City Base »

Stayed here for one night mid March as both husband and l were in town on business. Room comfortable and bathroom spotless. Staff helpful and friendly. Bar staff likewise. Breakfast good buffet with hot meals cooked to order. Location excellent for quick hop into town. Parking overnight for five euro.

    « Another fantastic stay!! »

Just back from an overnight stay at the fabulous Skylon!! We arrived early but staff were so accommodating and stored our luggage for us while we went shopping. Rooms are so comfy and spacious. Every member of staff we met were so friendly and professional. Fab breakfast too! So a big thank you to Colette and all the team at the Skylon for an amazing stay. We cant wait to go back!!

« NOT near the Dublin city center! »

Wish I could've given the hotel a higher rating. The hotel itself is nice, clean, comfortable and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. My only complaint is the statement that its only 5 minutes from the city center. I, mistakenly, believed that to mean walking. Even so, it would only be a 5 minute ride if there were NO traffic! We booked this hotel believing its description was accurate. The city center is why we are here in the first place! If you don't mind a 15+ minute bus ride on crowded public buses, then this could be the hotel for you. Its not for us and we won't be back! The description needs to be changed as it is NOT near city center!

    5
    « Nice »

Great hotel! Had a triple room and it was very large and clean. I'm American and it is very similar to what I am used to. Great pub area. Great architecture with lots of pops of color and quaint. Bus stop is right next to the hotel and easy to get downtown on. Numerous restaurants across the street....cafe, Chinese, Spanish, pizza, and fish n chips. Awesome

    « Awesome Hotel »

We came to Dublin to visit my son who moved here in November and the hotel is very clean, the staff is very helpful, great location to City Centre, bar is spacious, and the Ivy Bar across the street is wonderful!! Americans will love this place!

    « Afternoon Tea »

We have just come home from afternoon tea in the Skylon hotel and are beyond disappointed. There were 3 people in our group and we asked for 1 portion of sandwiches to be made with gluten free bread. This resulted in a plain chicken sandwich brought out on a plate! The afternoon tea tier came out 5 minutes later which consisted of 3 finger ham sandwiches, 3 finger watery salad sandwich, 3 scones with cream and plastic containers of jam, and 5 so called Danish pastries which had little in them and tasted like sawdust. It was then followed by 3 slices of tea brack that could be used for building a wall if you ran short of bricks! The man who served this I must say was very pleasant. When we finished we were asked if we would like to take what we had not eaten home and my elderly mother said yes, this resulted in us being handed a very large piece of tin foil from the kitchen to wrap it up ourselves. I have been to many places for afternoon tea and this was without doubt the worst every especially for a so called 4 star hotel. Would not recommend this and would definetly not return.

    « Amazing hotel! »

    « Could be cleaner ! »

Situated on the main road between the Airport (25 min by bus) and the city-centre of Dublin (10 min by bus). Positive : excellent situation for visiting students of St Pats College / silent and calm / good service / bus stop in front of hotel / breakfast ok / good pricing / taxis in front of the hotel / kindness of personnel Negative : could be cleaner (Windows in the room, toilets in the room and behind the reception, finger prints of children on mirrors in the lobby, front Windows of hotel not clean at all. There is really a lot to do there / Breakfast seems a bit "short" at first sight but possibility to have extra dishes (fresh salmon, scrambled egges, poached eggs.../ a menu gives you the info but you have to ask for them and you are not informed that these dishes are included in the price of the breakfast (=lack of correct communication) / beds only 1,40 m large !!!! but perhaps normal size for Ireland. Very small bath, too. Would give 3,5 stars maximum for this hotel

    4
« Great place to stay »

Lovely decor. Spotlessly clean. Great bedrooms! Breakfast was lovely and had vegetarian options!!!! Kettles and safes in the room and nice friendly staff. Bus from airport drops right outside hotel. I would definately stay here again!! The only thing missing for me was a gym!!!!

« A Budget Hotel if booked correctly »

Firstly let me say we booked this Hotel on price and location. We had a standard room with king size bed, which overlooked the main road. There was some mild traffic noise, but not an intrusion, the room itself was spacious and certainly well equipped. Because of the design and position of the room radiator, some of the heat disappeared when the curtains were closed, do not despair, when booking in ask for a room heater, you do not have to use it but better to have it in your room than not. We found the staff friendly and helpful although the Reception can be a very busy area. (TIP if you want a complimentery paper get to the Reception early). I can not comment on the Resturant as we ate all our meals out. As we were travelling from the Airport using Public transport the location of the Hotel is quite easy to get to (bus 16 or 41) just make sure you have the correct change (5.40 Euro for two at the time of writing). For those who like walking, 20 minutes will get you to Dublins Botanical Gardens, slightly bare at this time of the year, but should be wonderfull in the spring and summer months (and its free entry). On exiting the gardens turn right and you can walk directly using just the same road straight into Dublin City. We would certainly book this Hotel again.

    5
« Very quaint and beautiful »

The building itself is lovely. As soon as you walk through the door the interior and decor is well matched to the atmosphere and building. The staff where very pleasant and more than happy to help in any way they could. The room was well suited. Cleaned every day and the facilities and bed where second to none. Would recommend this and hope to stay here again

    4
    « Great stay »

Doesn't look much from the outside, however inside is lovely and cosy and staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very nice and a good size and it was the comfiest bed we've ever slept on. Even though we left our dont disturb sign on the door they left us fresh towels every day by the door in a bag. Only downside was that even with the shower on full heat it was still cold. All In all great stay and would definitely return.

    4
    « Buy a bus pass »

The hotel itself was very comfortable. The room was well equipped and the staff at the desk were very nice. When booking, I didn't realise how far it was from the town centre. We bought 3 day bus passes (€19) which worked out ok. Buses ran regularly and it was easy to get in and out of the city using No. 16 or 41.

    4
« Very convenient base camp for exploring the city of Dublin »

My wife and I took the early morning flight from London and had checked in to our room by 9am. The hotel is very conveniently located on the bus route between the airport and the city centre. In both directions buses stop very close to the hotel entrance. An inviting and spacious reception area, with lots of comfortable furniture, draws you in promisingly. Our room was pleasant, the bed firm and everything spotlessly clean as it should be. We didn't have a meal in the hotel (one night stay only) but the breakfast and restaurant areas seemed busy at both ends of the day. We would happily stay at this hotel again.

    5
    « Great hotel »

My husband and I visited upon my sons recommendation for 4 days to celebrate his 50th. Lovely hotel, lovely friendly staff who cannot do enough for you. We were in a top floor room very quiet, a tad small but clean, had everything you could wish for. It was excellent value for money too. Great they had a luggage room as we had late flight. Food in restaurant was ok, we had specials one night and was a little over cooked. But could have been an off day. Plenty of eateries over road too so u can mix it up. The ivy house was great did 2 courses for 17€ most meals expect to pay at least 13€ a head. Buses great but would pop to spar shop and get a leap card, it's only 2.70€ but u need the correct change to city or to airport we got the 16 most of time. If you want to keep fit it's 20-30 mins walk. If your booking with Expedia don't buy the air link bus transfers as only valid if your going into centre. Cheaper to go via 16. Had a great time in the city, temple bar area for shops and nightlife, Guinness brewery, botanical gardens down road worth a visit. Also hop on and off tour bus green ones at €19 great idea you see heaps.

« Amazing Hotel very highly recommended can't wait to go back!! »

We stayed feb the 14th - 17th in an executive/family room myself my partner and 1 year old. Rooms very spacious, very comfy beds. Free wifi, Iron ironing board, hair dryer. Complementary toiletries, shampoo, body washes, lotion and soap! Great facilities in room. Nice touches like bottles water still and sparkling and snacks complimentary in the room. Very clean and the cleaners each day have a great attention to detail, I have never been in such a clean room or hotel!! Lovely modern bathroom. Breakfast amazing and great service all staff were brilliant! They can not do enough for you! I have travelled all over the world and have never been in a hotel were EVERY staff member was so nice and welcoming. We look forward to going back again in the future. We had dinner in the bar area and the decor is great, lovely fire and comfy chairs. In reception I also enjoyed everyday the lovely natural fruit water! Thank you to all the staff and the manger was always around and accessible/friendly and can't do enough for you! the best run hotel I have ever been too!!!

    « Valentine break »

Just had 3 days at the skylon hotel dublin. The reception area dining room and bedrooms were all tastefully decorated staff very helpful and would certainly recommend the hotel. We travelled from airport via bus quite a few stop just outside the hotel it was €2.70 and you must have correct fare no change given. We arrived early morning so room not ready but our luggage securely stored. We had breakfast in the hotel €12 but there was plenty of choice cereal porridge choice of hot breakfasts toast pastries conserves and 4 different juices choice of teas and coffees. The food was plentyful hot and delicious would certainly recommend. Iron and board hairdryer toiletries coffee machine and safe bottled water and crisps complimentary too. We went with crystal travel and would certainly return

    « Business »

Nice hotel, rooms clean and comfy. Good food, decent pint also. Only one complaint, due to working nights i am sleeping during the day, housekeeping staff seem pretty unaware people maybe asleep during the day, doors banging, trolleys knocking walls , general chatter from the housekeeping team. Amazing i have painters painting the room next door, a fairly quite process unless you shout into your phone and have no awareness of the do not disturb signs on the doors.

« An amazing hotel! Would recommend! »

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a valentines break away from the UK. On arriving the hotel is beautiful and very spacious; we were checked in and given all the information we needed. The room was amazing; we booked for a standard double but the bed was huge; definitely a King size minimum. Shower was lovely and a nice touch was that we had a bath. The room service are great aswell, we left at around 11 each morning and always came back to a freshly cleaned room. The room was beautiful, and mini toiletries for the price- were a nice touch. The only problem with our room was the hairdryer didn't work; but that wasn't a problem for me because I wash my hair at night and let it air dry. The breakfast included with our stay was out of this world! An amazing g array of cereal; toast; fruit; salmon; cheese; full Irish was on offer every morning and I couldn't fault the friendly service. Also; for travelling into the city the bus service is so easy to use. I would recommend popping into the spar across the street and purchasing a leap card as you can top it up and don't need to worry about exact coins. It also gives you reduced fairs and the spar are more than happy to help you out with which stop and bus to get if you are stuck first time. Taxis from and to the skylon to Dublin are around the 11€ mark and a single on the bus is 2.05€ Not bad in my eyes and a lovely stay! We will be back 100%

« Comfortable, very helpful staff but slightly noisy on Friday/Saturday. »

The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, and the rooms were cosy + clean. The hotel is also very conveniently located - about 15 minutes away from the city centre and airport. Great public transport links (as far as Dublin goes) right outside the hotel. The only (and very slight) problem was the live music on Friday and Saturday night - which is quite annoying if you're trying to sleep on the first floor.

    5
    « Fabulous Hotel »

We stayed for 3 nights. Amazing deal! The staff were great especially Simon and the bearded barman in the hotel bar. Made to feel welcome. Good food, well priced. Great live music. Rooms were modern and clean. Staff incredibly friendly. Can't wait to go back. Well done to all concerned . Teri Souter and Warren Franks.

    « Fabulous Hotel »

My friend and I stayed here on a quick two days girl's getaway to Dublin. It is to get to and from the airport and city centre via the local bus. The rooms were nice and clean although the single bed could be bigger. The food is fabulous and you can order drinks late into the night even when the bar is closed. The staff were very friendly especially our waiter Barry. He was very knowledgeable about his city and the wider world. We truly enjoyed conversing with him and would definitely stay here again before of his excellent service.

couldn't have found a better hotel in Dublin for the rugby weekend. staff were very helpful & very polite, we had breakfast the one day which was 12 euro each well worth the money & the staff were lovely too. very clean, very quiet. On the Sunday we also went for a meal across the road called the ivy which was lovely & friendly. we will definitely be back thanks again for a fab time...

    « Couldn't have asked for a nicer hotel! »

Couldn't fault this hotel at all! Absolutely gorgeous interior, reception and bar area was lovely, with plenty of space throughout the hotel! Friendly staff on arrival, who also let us keep our cases in a luggage room on our departure day! Only a short bus ride into town however we found taxis split between 4 came out to the same price! A few local shops and eateries across the road and only a short taxi ride to the airport. Very grateful to all the staff at this hotel for making our stay so wonderful. Would definitely stay here again!

« Overall fine, one or two glitches »

Not too a bad location between airport and city centre, and reasonable cost. Standard hotel of this kind, quite nice and clean. There is a bar/restaurant, with a modest range of menu items, again inexpensive. Friendly prompt reception staff. My room on the second floor was fine, if with a dismal view and a slightly dated bathroom and small bath. The cooked breakfast was OK but pre-cooked, so fast service but food a bit loveless. I had some trouble getting to sleep the first night due to noisy guests next door who continued their very loud talking, despite my protests, until after midnight.

    « lovely »

Our room was lovely, very modern and spacious. The tea facilities in the room were great,The only downfall was the tv selection there was only 4 channels, but not an issue if your not going to be there long. The bar food is gorgeous highly recommended. Will be back

« Lunch in the Bar, Jennifer was brilliant ! »

Just had a wonderful lunch in the Skylon Bar & Grill. Service was great. I can't believe that this hotel is only 3* hotel. Should definitely be a 4* the quality is really great. Jennifer in the bar is a real asset to the hotel. The hotel has a real comfortable feel to it. I will certainly be back !

« Not central but handy for hospital, decent 3 star hotel »

We gave this a try as we are attending clinics in Beaumont nearby. Will definitely use again. hotel has an underground car park. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby and the are felt very safe late at night Hotel was quiet as it was a Sunday night but there was entertainment in the bar. Room was a good size though bathroom a little small and the shower a little hard to get right Free wifi was excellent meaning we could watch netflix on our laptop We didnt use the restaurant or bar but every staff member we dealt with was pleasant Bed was large and very comfortable Paid 75e for room only which for the location and comfort was acceptable and as long as we can get a similar price this will be our hotel of choice for our upcoming visits

« good value and good staff »

I really enjoyed this stay. The hotel is very good and the staff are pleasant. Room was nice but there was a couple of issues.... The bath was clearly made for leprechauns and the wifi in my room (212) didn't work at all sadly. But all the staff were lovely, breakfast was great and the bar is lovely. Pity (and a bit strange!) that the restaurant only opens at weekends apparently!! Great nights sleep, good tv and free parking make this place a quality recommended place to stay. Go. Enjoy!

This was a lovely hotel! Rooms clean and well equipped, staff friendly! However not very central to everything that Dublin has to offer to tourists (eg temple bar, Guinness factory etc), costs at least 12 euros to get into the city centre via taxi.

    « Great Hotel »

We stayed at the hotel before catching an early flight, first impressions were excellent. The hotel is easy to locate and the staff at reception were welcoming and friendly. We were greeted in our room with wine and chocolates, the room itself was spacious, modern and spotlessly clean. We had dinner and drinks in the hotel bar which was excellent and again the staff were so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. All in all a very enjoyable stay and I look forward to retuning.

    « Family party »

I recently spent a weekend at the Skylon hotel for a family birthday party. Many people travelled from England and all parts of Ireland. The hotel looked after us all superbly. The twin rooms were a little on the small side but clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The cost was very reasonable and we were a short bus ride from the city centre. Will definatly stay here again when I am in Dublin

« Love the rooms in the new wing »

We stayed with two infants and found the staff (particularly Nima) really helpful. We had an executive room in the new wing (231) which was spacious, clean and warm. The view was from the side of the building so not an amazing sight but certainly quiet, which was our priority. We didn't have breakfast but enjoyed a meal (and a decent pint of Guinness) in the bar. We will certainly return.

    « Cheap and cheerful »

I stayed in the best western Dublin skylon hotel on the 22nd January. I was staying as I was attending the Kevin hart show in the 3 arena. When we arrived the room wasn't ready but we went for a drink in the bar and the receptionist came in shortly after with our room keys. The hotel is old fashioned but it's nice and warm feeling. The room was nice, standard double room, but quite small. The staff were friendly. Cheap and cheerful hotel. About 3 km from the city centre. Cheap and cheerful!

« one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. »

This was my first visit to Dublin, wasn't expecting much as the best western are middle of the range hotels. During our stay we stayed at the Hampton Hilton at Liverpool airport,The skylon while in Dublin and the Village Hotel on our return to Liverpool. The skylon won hands down on everything.. Lovely well kept rooms.nice reception area. Nice bar..and the staff are a credit to the company.. Well done...we will definitely reccomend this hotel to friends and family..and will be returning on our next visit for sure..

« Great service food average »

Went for a family gathering, we had a private room for a meal which was nicely decorated. Service was very good but the food was not great. The children were all served their meal first which was great. I had Turkey % ham, it was barely lukewarm. The Turkey was nice but the ham was disgusting it no more resembled ham, l could have soled my shoe with it. The desert portions were so small they were eaten in 2 bites.

« Five Star Review for a Five Star Hotel (Even though its officially classed as Three) »

We went to Dublin for my 63rd birthday and stayed in the Dublin Skylon, on arriving we walked into a beautiful reception area and hotel, the staff and manager on the reception greeted us and were polite, welcoming and friendly. Our room was lovely decor, spotlessly clean and warm and had all the ammenities you require for a stay. The dinning room was of the same standard as the rest of the hotel and the Breakfast was great, plenty of coffee, Toast, Pancakes, Guiness Bread, plus a full cooked breakfast. I dont have a bad word to say about this hotel and am so glad my son booked it for my birthday, I have stayed in a lot of hotels in my lifetime so this review is based on some expierience. Book the Best Western Dublin Skylon its a good hotel, Im coming back the next time I come to Dublin so that says it all really.

    « Loved this location »

I always loved staying in Best Westerns because they provide such comfy beds. This Best Western is probably one of the nicest ones I've stayed at. Hotel staff were nice, the room was beautiful and house keeping kept it clean everyday. The location was great since it was just 15 minutes car ride away from most attractions I wanted to go to. There's also a great bar (The Ivy House) right across the street that opens really late, a Dominos that stays open, and a delicious Chinese place to pick up take out before 12am. Only thing that was a problem was the hotel staff couldn't tell me if breakfast was included with my stay or not due to miscommunication with Expedia. They were just kinda like... "Find out yourself then email us." Not very helpful because I couldn't find anything on my end with that information. So I just assume I never paid for it...

« Home Away From Home »

First and foremost this wasn't just a place to lay my head, plan a day out, eat a meal or have a drink - this was my home away from home! The hospitality of the staff here was the absolute best that I've ever experienced! I felt like a member of the family throughout my entire stay here. They went above and beyond to assist me with anything that I needed and even with things that I didn't even know that I needed. Jennifer at Reception and Kieran in the pub really stood out as they went above and beyond in terms of making my stay safe and enjoyable! What's even better is that all of the staff contributed, whether helping me with my bags, recommending a delicious item from the menu or even directions on how to get to the places that I wanted to go. The lobby was very inviting and the restaurant served tasty food. My room was lovely and comfortable. Room service was very quick and also punctual when I pre-ordered a breakfast to my room. I will absolutely stay here again the next time I am in Dublin and recommend it to anyone looking for their home away from home!

« New Year's Eve at the Skylon - Dublin »

Stayed here during new years eve and new years day. An absolute steal of a price. Bus directly from airport to hotel. 10/15 min bus ride to centre and buses are frequent even during this period of time. Bud stop just accross the road. If staying 2 days, I'd recommend a 72hour bus pass. Was £15 and well worth the investment. The hotel itself was clean and modern. The room was large and decor very nice. The nespresso machine and toiletries were an added bonus and unexpected given the price we paid. Friendly staff. Wake up call for early airport run. Nice bar and restaurant. Could not ask for more. Free fizz on New years was a very sweet touch. Only reason for 4 star is the location which really wasnt a problem for us but may be for others. Thank you Skylon for a pleasant stay.

    « Pleasurable stay »

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, very pleasant and comfortable stay. Breakfast menu and bedrooms to a really good standard which made for a comfortable stay...there is also nice Italian restaurant and traditional Irish pub across the street.

    « Lovely hotel »

Can not fault this hotel one bit! Location is just 15 minutes from the airport and 15 minute bus ride from the city centre or a 30 minute walk. All staff are lovely and can not give you enough advice or tips about Dublin itself. There was always water (fruit infused) available on reception for guests and free wifi. The rooms are are clean and have a beautiful interior. Our room had a nespresso machine and a selection of pods to choose from. I am most hoping I'll be coming back again for next NYE!

    « Very comfortable »

Only stayed in the Skylon for one night but I would highly recommend it for anyone to stay in this very comfortable hotel, check in with vey friendly reception girls, very helpful and we were very surprised at the high standard of cleanliness and complimentary tea, coffee and bathroom soaps and shampoos fresh towels, very comfortably bed, wake up call for the airport and waiting taxi....spot on for efficiency we had a couple of drinks on the night in the bar and loved the table service and friendliness, no fault at all, a lot of effort made to make their quests feel at home wth all the Christmas decorations and trimmings, thank you Skylon for making our stay very comfortable, and if the need arises we will be back its a great place to stay half way to the Airport from the railway station.

« Lovely hotel with very helpful and friendly staff! »

Stayed in Dublin for a weekend in December with my partner and found this hotel online to be a really good cheap place to stay during our visit. Very close to the airport and bus route which dropped us off from the airport directly outside the hotel which took barely 15 mins. On arrival staff were very friendly and welcoming and after having a small issue with our beds, they were more than happy to move us rooms without a fuss and apologised. Also great location just sitting a 10 minute bus journey outside the city centre which was perfect. Also a very nice bar downstairs which was always well staffed and felt very relaxed with prices average. Very clean rooms and bedding, spacious room and a selection of free tea + coffee for the mornings made this an excellent choice of hotel and if returning to Dublin will not hesitate to return.

« Excellent value for money, clean hotel, friendly staff! »

The staff were very attentative. Always helpful and there was a good vibe and environment around the hotel, especially the bar area. Excellent value for money!! Bus links are very close to and from the airport and city centre. The local bus is €2.70 no matter where you're going (make sure you have the change) bus drivers are grumpy!! Also the busses announce where you are at each stop, so no need to panick and get out the google maps! :)

« Super base for Family Holiday »

We stayed at the Skylon for a few days between Christmas and New Year. From the outset the staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. We arrived very early, having been on an overnight flight and surprise! surprise! our room was ready and waiting for us. We could not have been happier. The interior is nicely done with plenty of comfortable public seating areas where you can order food and drinks in an enjoyable environment. The lobby area seemed to be a hive of social activity from afternoon tea to drinks in the evening. There is also a breakfast room and a huge pub / dining area which is open for most of the day. We ate there a few times during our stay. The bar / serving staff were very accommodating and helpful. Nothing was too much for them. The daily soups were excellent and I had a delicious burger which was sourced locally for supper one evening. The Fish and Chips were good too. Our room was large and modern and it was spotlessly clean. The beds were also very comfortable and afforded us a good night's sleep. The only downside was the heating which was radiator based and only set to come on at certain times (not overnight). We were absolutely frozen for the first day and night until the front desk provided us an additional portable rad that we could control ourselves. Despite being told that the rads were on a timer, the one in our room never seemed to come on in all the time we were there. On the upside wifi was free and worked well for all 4 of us on varying devices simultaneously. It was very easy to get around using the hotel as a base but I must say we splurged on taxis vs taking the local bus and this was a fairly expensive undertaking. The hotel was also quick and easy to get to from the airport which was a plus.

« Great place to base an extended stay to Dublin »

I spent a week in Ireland and stayed at the Skylon hotel. The hotel looks rather unassuming from the outside, but the drab exterior hides a warm and inviting lobby, complete with a pub with a good menu and plenty of drinks. I stayed at the Skylon during the holiday season, and the hotel was gorgeous in all of its holiday finery. I found the staff at the Skylon to be excellent. They were extremely helpful, always ready to answer any questions I happened to have. The staff also responded to calls placed at various hours of the day, almost immediately every time. The hotel is conveniently close to the city center, and is right across from a bus stop, so getting into the center of Dublin is very easy. If you would rather take a cab after an evening out, that would not be an issue either; whenever I took a cab the cabbies immediately knew where the Skylon was. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants located around the hotel. A drug store and a Tescos are just a block or two down the road. Several good restaurants are just across the street. I highly recommend getting dinner at the wine and cheese shop across the road. Overall, I thought the Skylon was an excellent place to stay. My sole complaint comes from the wifi. The hotel promises in-room wifi, but the signal I received in our room (room 312) was so unreliable as to be unusable. This was very inconvenient, as I could not plan trips on my computer. The internet is the only aspect of my stay that I had a problem with. Otherwise the Skylon would received 5 stars.

« Great to be based at the Skylon while visiting Dublin and surroundings. »

Good location, within 15 minutes of the city center, accessible by bus from the airport (Buy your Leap card at the airport SPAR). All the staff is friendly and helpfull. We've had a very agreable and relaxed 6 nights stay.

« Helpful stuff we could have done with knowing begorehand »

Hotel is great. Big room, lovely and clean and perfect for us (mum, dad and 2.5yr old). Staff were really friendly and helpful. We were Room Only so got milk from the Spa opposite and they stored it in their fridge for us so we could make a drink for my little girl each morning. Buses You can get any bus from opposite the hotel into the city. They only take coins though (no-one told us that). The 13 will take you to the Guiness Storehouse from the hotel. You can get the 16 from the airport to the hotel. Eateries Il Carvo opposite is ok. Not great but not awful and had a good kids menu. Independent Pizza Company is a 15min walk (towards city centre) and was lovely but very busy so best to book.

    4
« Excellent hotel and very helpful staff »

The hotel from the outside looks unassuming however inside is spacious and well decorated, large bar with open fire and good selection of Irish beers and whiskeys. The rooms are large and cannot be faulted. The only downside is it's a bit far from the centre, a 40 min walk but there are frequent buses into the centre. Across the road is a Spar minimarket where a bus pass can be purchased, the card is 5 E to buy and then you top it up as you go along. You will soon get the 5E back in reduced fares and is easy as you need coins for the bus. If you swipe the card on the bus you pay a flat fare whereas asking the driver to deduct the fare for short journeys will save you money. If you don't want to eat at the hotel there are many restaurants close by ranging from French, Italian and Asian. Also a good Cheese and Wine bar with a good menu and an excellent Indian, the MintLeaf about 10 mins walk away toward the city centre. They offer a 3 course meal between 5 to 7pm for 14:95 which is good value. The staff are very helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. All in all an excellent hotel

    3
    « 2 star Hotel »

If you are in need of a place to stay, conveniently located for airport and city, for one night only, then this hotel is a wise choice. Any longer, you will regret it. Tired, cramped rooms, tiny bathrooms, leaking showers, threadbare towels( no bigger than hand towels) and the worst hotel breakfast for some time (walk across the road to 104 restaurant) will make you regret your decision. Staff are very friendly and buffer the grim experience.

« My experience in using Skylon Hotel Dublin over 5 years. »

Very easy to manage their internet reservations process and or simply 'phone them for immediate help. Good selection of rooms available. Always comfortable with many having adequate sitting / using a lap top. Have been staying here for the past 5 years or so on a regular basis and found all the staff are polite, helpful and most efficient. Breakfast is great. Travel to Dublin City or Airport is easy. All up an excellent Hotel .

    « Can't fault it »

Had a lovely 4 night stay with my two children (they didn't want to Leave) room extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean, I felt slightly cold in room upon arrival but was quickly given a heater. The housekeeping deserve extra recognition as well as the porter who delivered our breakfast. I plan to stay here again but will ask for street view as these rooms are more modern too. Transport into centre Dublin easy as bus outside hotel takes you straight there please note tho: use coins to pay for fair and must be exact fair as I paid a 5euro note and driver seemed very annoyed much to my amusement. Free wifi always a thumbs up too! Overall definitely stay again. ?????

« Great hotel, good location for the airport »

Had an early flight recently so stayed at the Skylon Hotel in Drumcondra. The hotel is nicely decorated and the staff are lovely. The food in the bar is excellent and again the service was really good and waiting staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel for location close to the airport.

    « Beautiful, Warm Hotel »

We stayed here for 3 nights as a surprise for my boyfriend's 21st birthday and were not disappointed. The service at reception was perfect and as requested, we were given an upper storey room. The rooms were spotless and with beautiful decor. We were also surprised to find a bottle of fizz on the side in an ice bucket which was very kind of them! Each day we came back to a fresh laundry bag outside the room (we put do not disturb on) which had fresh towels and toiletries - a lovely touch. The wifi was fast and the tv was enough for what we wanted to watch in the evening with BBC and ITV available. There was a free shuttle service from the airport (Green PaddyWagon from zone 14) that got us to the hotel in no time. The bus from the hotel to town was from a bus stop just across the road and cost 2.70 and took about 10-15mins. Make sure you get on the bus with change as they do not accept notes (which we found out the hard way). Would recommend going to Dublin Zoo and the Guinness Storehouse as they were great days out. Would definitely stay here again and recommend.

« Wonderful Visit. Warm, Welcoming Service. »

We stayed for 6 nights then another night on our way home. We will stay again. Location happened to be well placed for access to town and to DCU for an athletic event that lasted several days. It is also very easy to get to and from airport. People were lovely. Rooms a tad dated, but very comfortable and clean.

    « Average experience »

My husband and I visited the Skylon for one night a few weeks ago to visit the Christmas market. The hotel is fine, bus service into the city was regular. The room itself was decorated quite nicely, though the bathrooms are a bit dated. On arriving round the corner on our floor however at about 5.30pm there was a mattress and bed standing up against the wall close to our door (pic provided). Not the nicest of welcomes. Our other issue was the car parking. There are limited spaces available and there were none free when we arrived. After driving round in circles for a while I ran into reception to ask for advice. The staff were apologetic but not exactly helpful as they don't run the carpark. We ended up quite far down a residential street which was a small inconvenience on arrival but an even greater one when we had to leave in very heavy rain the next day. Takes the edge off things a bit heading home soaking wet. For the €191 euro we paid for the night I don't think it represents the best value for money and I can't see us staying there again.

    « Average »

Booked as a last minute package, hotel appeared OK from outside, not too drab but nothing special. Inside reception was clean & presentable, staff polite yet "rushed". Our room was quite small, the bathroom was tiny, both were reasonably clean but in need of redecorating. The room was baking hot, even with the heating turned off, we couldn't open the window as we overlooked a flat roof with workman on it so security was an issue. Also our double bed was minute, no way a double, we could not turn over without disturbing each other leading to uncomfortable sleepless nights. The kettle leaked and was replaced, the toiletries were not replenished during our stay. We took breakfast in the hotel & this was the highlight of our stay.

    « Skylon Hotel Dublin »

The location is very convenient to my workplace, parking is available free of charge and rooms comfortable and clean and warm. Good internet access and plenty of circulation space in corridors, foyer and bar.

    « Commendably consistent »

We have stayed here on a few occasions usually related to family events and we have never been disappointed, though equally well never blown away. The rooms are good, clean and have all that is required. A bit more space could have been used for the en-suite which felt a bit cramped without any very noticeable loss to the bedroom but everything worked. Room temperature was set to baking so we were happy to find we could turn off the radiators and open the window (just). Aircon would have been nice. Staff were pleasant and helpful. I see no reason we would not happily return.

    « Value for Money »

Stayed over here for 3 nights in August. Hotel was fantastic, rooms were clean and comfy. The staff couldn't do enough for us with helping to book attractions. They also left us a bottle of prosecco, a box of milk tray and Irish crisps with compliments of the hotel on our final night. Definitely stay again when we revisit Dublin.

« Weekend break in Dublin »

Average stay in hotel for weekend break, Big room, with sizeable bed and bathroom with bath (all very clean). Easy to travel to airport by bus and 20 minute bus ride into city centre, (for a few euros).

« Best Hotel in Dublin »

We recently visited Dublin and stayed at the Skylon Hotel. This hotel and its staff are one of the best in Dublin. The staff, whether they are front desk, porters, bar staff and management not only attend to all your needs, they do it with a smile. We have come to the Skylon many times and their quality of staff, comfort and professionalism are consistently high. The Skylon is close to the city center and not far from the airport. It has a lovely bar area and many other amenities. We enjoy our stay every time we go.

    4
« Decent hotel half way between airport and city center »

A little dated decor, but not without a certain charm. Rooms are not large, but adequate. City center is walkable, but only if you like amlong hike (35-40 min). Otherwise it's a bus ride, which requires either to buy and load a chip card or pay exact (!) change. No aircon, which was not a problem fir us in winter of course

« visiting our son and family enjoyed dublin and surounding area cant wait to go again »

Staff very attentive and friendly.Simon in the bar always made us very welcome as it was our first visit to Ireland. The service in restaurant was quick and obliging with excellent food

    « Nice actually »

Though the hotel gave a feeling of being a house for older people, it was in a nice way actually :) It is not new and has some feel of outdated décor, but it is very enjoyable overall. Even the high-tea offer in the lobby and the Irish bar setting there are great additions, if you come after experiencing Ireland. The rooms and the service are OK. It is walking distance (about 15-20 mins) to the city center, good pubs and restaurants right across the road from it too - thus very convenient.

    « ****Hidden Gem.... Fab**** »

This was my first time staying in the Skylon and I was not disappointed. Arrived ahead of check in time. Got a parking space at the front at a cost of €5 for the night.... Wow. Was greated by the pleasant and efficient Maja at reception. The hotel apparently got a fresh make over. The staff were homely, friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The room was modern and spotless with even chocolates on the bed. My husband said the pints were fab in the bar ...lol. The breakfast was unreal. The room was spotless, an abundance of food on table, newspapers available. The standard of food was five star... The efficiency and warmth of the staff ... Five star... Everywhere in this hotel was immaculate. This was down to good staff training and people working as an overall team. You do not get a 2nd chance to make a first impression,,, the skylon certainly ticked the box.. Well done. I definitely will be back.

« Loved coming back to this lovely hotel »

Just returned from a great weekend break at the Skylon. Haven't been here for almost 40 years, since I left Ireland in 1978. I worked at the hotel from 1974 to 1978 so going back was something I was really looking forward to. The hotel has changed completely since I last saw it, it was much more formal in the 1970's. We had a terrific weekend, what stood out more than anything else was the friendly welcome, great service and homely Irish feel to the place. The hotel was buzzing all weekend and no surprise as they go to great lengths to make all feel welcomed.

    « Great Service »

This hotel has a good location, not in the city proper and out of the airport area, but both are easy to reach. It`s service from the front desk to the people that take care of the rooms are great and very helpful. There are several places to eat within walking distance after a day of touring Dublin that stay open extremely late, the bus into town stops right outside and the price is extremely reasonable when you plan in advance. About the only complaint I had was the new type of shower door wouldn`t stay closed but I think that`s a personal problem.

    5
    « Brilliant. »

Stayed for 4 nights, we absolutely loved it. Reception staff were friendly, and lovely bar staff. Rooms were clean with good facilities, bar and restaurant entertainment also great. Reception area was warm and welcoming and staff were always attentive. We would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

« Everything I could have asked for and more »

I arrived late at night, just wanting to go to my double room and sleep. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a very professional and welcoming staff member. Due to my length of stay, I was upgraded to a KING room, a major surprise! Breakfast was delicious with a mix of hot and cold options. The staff were also very helpful with getting you around town as it is about 10 minutes out of 'central' Dublin; what bus or train to catch, maps ect. Will definitely be staying there when I come back and will be recommending this to all of my friends and family.

    « Much to Recommend »

The best hotel experiences are those that are easy, and our short business stay at the Skylon Hotel was certainly that. Check-in staff are pleasant, efficient and professional, and our room was large, if somewhat on the functional side. Breakfast Room Service was also first class, exactly on time and the Cheese and Ham plate was of excellent quality. Where this hotel scores so highly is in it's Bar and Grill . Here we dined on excellent fresh fish and scampi . This was real and well cooked food, served by delightful and characterful staff. Honourable mention for Simon who looked after us superbly, and for the well chosen and equally well priced wine list. The Skylon is a good, well priced business hotel. It is well run and knows how to deliver for its guests. Its position between the City and the Airport make it a very useful location, and we will certainly be returning. Keep up the good work.

    « Good stopover point »

    « Lovely hotel »

The hotel is lovely, and the staff are very helpful. In Particular, Sophie (who was on reception) really helped by giving us bus times, advice on where to go as well as being able to answer any questions we had. The atmosphere in the bar, over the weekend, was not to be missed as there was live music and everyone was enjoying themselves. Although the hotel is a little way from the city centre, there are buses from just outside the hotel that go into the city every 10-15 mins. The only things I did not like were that the wifi was extremely slow and the connection was intermittent. Also, I found the portions of the hot breakfast to be particularly small and also it was not made clear what vegetarian options were available. I loved staying here and would definitely stay here again.

« Out of the way, but a nice place. »

A bit out of the way from the city center, about a 10 Euro taxi. You are halfway between city center and the airport. Rooms were nice, very clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. Roomy bathroom. The doors to the hallway let in a bit of noise, but it was fairly quiet, even with a bunch of football fans staying here after a game on a weekend. Our room faced the back of the hotel, I would recommend asking for the same. Across the street are a few restaurants. The pub was good, the italian place was mediocre. We didn't try the in house restaurant, it seemed very pricey. Breakfast here was fantastic, although the staff were a bit absent. Off to the side chatting. Nice otherwise. Overall pretty good place to stay.

« Don't stay here unless you want expensive misery »

I was visiting Dublin for my mother's funeral, so knew I would find it hard to sleep. I asked when booking for a quiet room and gave examples of things to avoid as noisy- so elevator and I asked for room at end of passageway. They did manage these. Sadly, they didn't think of anything else. Very loud air conditioner was broken and ran all night, keeping me awake all of first night. Then they admitted broken and turned off completely for rest of our 4 nights and very wet bathroom as a result. Noisy room overlooking main road, despite request. Young children were booked into room 2 doors down and their parents shouting at them in corridor- I had asked for quiet room and yet they still put me near toddlers! Broken toilet seat that slipped to side and they couldn't fix for 2 days! Then they said it was fine- AFTER they had fixed it!! Hard to control shower water, so risk of scalding-even though my husband and I are hospital doctors, not easy to use and no explanation so very unsafe and took a long time to get to correct temperature, turn off and to shower only. My sons had no sleep in their room on last night, due to loud people in neighbouring rooms to them- tv noise and woman yelling at child. Many more things that were awful. We tried to use wi-fi and they had major problems in all rooms due to time change. Not good when trying to send urgent e-mails! When I complained about the numerous problems, the staff were friendly and said they would get something done, but sadly did not. In fact, the staff were always friendly- even when I was a my wits end and asked for the most senior person- who was reservations manager. I will write separately to manager, when I have time, as I wish to request a refund for at least one night. My sons, in a room far from me, also complained re noise and could not sleep. Twice due to neighbours being noisy at 2am and different ones at 3am! The concierge did ring the rooms, after telling my son to go to the rooms!

    « Elegant fine service »

First of all we were impressed by the elegant lobby and the kind reception. My sister and I stayed there for a couple of days in September. I had booked a 2 double beds and we received a surprise... a well needed upgrade. When we saw the room I immediately went upfront to ask if we had to pay for the extra space and the 3rd bed the kind receptionist told me that since she saw us with several pieces of luggage, it would really made us more comfortable at no extra cost. We loved the neat and cozy linens, the coffee and chocolate and the housekeeping service. The stores and restaurants across the street are also very convenient if you want to save some euros. I gladly recommend this hotel!!!

« Convenient hotel with amenities »

Showed up with no reservation and was treated to an excellent room. The hotel has comfortable beds and is convenient to the airport (10 min)and downtown(15 min). Nice lobby pub which appears to serve as a local as well. Great breakfast. Nice touch was sparkling wine in lobby upon arrival. Always had fresh fruit infused waters at the front desk. Staff was very friendly!

« Excellent hotel and perfect location »

Stayed for four nights and had an excellent stay, staff very friendly and will do anything they can to help. Perfect location. Take the no.16 from the airport €3.10 straight to the door, the bus driver will call you if you ask. Again take the no 16 to town/o'connel street €2.55 single tickets only and need correct money takes 5-10 min depending on traffic as it's the main route in and out. There is a spar and tesco metro opposite as well as a few restaurants, we ate at ll carvo Italian restaurant very very good. They do a two course set menu €20 each.

« Not Value For Money »

Stayed for a night on business in Dublin. I booked online and paid €99 for the night without breakfast. For the price paid, the hotel was not value for money. Check-in was fast and friendly and they offered complementary water at reception which was a nice touch. Sadly that was where all the niceties stopped. I was told I was in an upgraded room. But it wasn't great. Small 21" TV, uncomfortable pillows, a sheet which did not cover the end of the mattress and horrible cheap toiletries. Wifi was terrible to connect to and dropped off several times. Food in the bar was terrible. I had a steak which was pure grizzle and the presentation was like something from 20 years ago. The staff seemed disinterested and didn't come out from behind the bar. I had to both order and pay at the bar, even though they say it is table service. The cutlery was canteen standard and the salt and pepper dispensers were filthy. The bar itself was quite outdated and the furniture could do with being changed or at least reupholstered. Went to sleep or tried to as the room was so hot that I had to open the window which led to me being kept awake and getting very little sleep. The next morning I left early before breakfast to go to my meetings and there was no duty manager available to voice my concerns to. Overall the hotel was not value for money given the price paid as I had terrible wifi, a substandard meal and lost a nights sleep. I will not return.

    « Wonderful place to stay !!!! »

We were a group of three. First trip to Ireland.Found the staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable.Breakfast was great with lots of selection. We also ate at the Hotel restaurant and spent a couple of evenings at the bar when there was live entertainment. Super service with good food. Lots of singing and dancing. After a long day excursion and our last day in Ireland we came back to our room to find a bottle of wine on ice with snacks and sparkling water compliments of Simon the General Manager. Later that evening we went to the Bar to thank him and received complimentary Irish Coffee. We would definitely stay here again !!!

    « Disappointed »

The hotel is clean, a good location close to transit with parking and easily found and accessible and a store and food options are conveniently located across the street. However that being said I was very disappointed. The rooms are quite costly yet much is nickle and dimed by the hotel. I have stayed in lower stars even no stars, equivalent, and luxury so I have much experience in lodging and was shocked that for the price you pay to stay here you still have to pay extra to use the computer in the lobby (yet wifi is free), to print on said computer (yet front desk will print for free), no drinking water in room (free water cooler in lobby), and breakfast although I found it was great it was rather expensive (12euros) compared to others hotels I have stayed. The airport transportation is free to get to the hotel but yet you have to pay 3 euros to use it to get back. I realize i may be nitpicking but just feel all the little extras are somewhat ridiculous in a 4 star hotel. The bed was super comfortable, the room clean and quiet but no mini fridge or safe in the room. I also found the customer service great

« Great hotel in a wonderful location »

A little ways away from the beaten path but easily accessible to downtown on public transit. The staff are helpful and considerate - not to mention very kind. We told them it was out honeymoon (which it was) and they sent us up a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine. Several options to eat nearby, and the hotel restaurant and bar looks to be pretty good, though we didn't actually try it.

« Great staff and comfy rooms »

I stayed upon my arrival to Ireland an route to Limerick and again prior to departure from Ireland. Daniel and David went out of their way to help me with booking a round-trip train to Limerick, information about Dublin attractions, how to get around town and much more. All others at the desk were helpful and pleasant too as were the restaurant staff. My rooms were clean and comfortable. The only downsides were no air conditioning and a slightly cramped bathroom. Luckily, the windows opened and I could get a cool outside breeze. There were convenient restaurants and fast food places. Although the area is primarily residential, there were some close by shops. I took the bus a few times to city center. It was crowded so I chose to mainly use a taxi. I did use the shuttle to the airport and it was only 3 euros. I recommend this hotel as it was also reasonably priced.

    « Fantastic Stay »

I stayed here for 11 days because my late father took our family here for 3 weeks back in 1972. I was very pleasantly surprised that it has aged tremendously well. We arrived early and they were packed. Check in was not until 1430 but we were there at 0800. They had us in a room by 1100 while they allowed our weary bodies to rest in the lobby. The room was nice, the staff super accommodating and the price perfect. We ate breakfast there 3 times and were stunned with the quality. We ate dinner there twice. The nachos were outstanding and the chicken pasta superb. We enjoyed Guinness and whiskey along with sports in the bar on 3 different occasions. Each time was better than the first. If you meet Simon, tell him Matt from West Palm Beach said hello. The price was the price, no funny business, and the staff - every single person we engaged - was brilliant. I was even ill one day and had to engage room service. They absolutely took care of me. I recommend this hotel to anyone without question. It couldn't be more than a mile or so walk to O'Connell Street, is surrounded by restaurants, pubs, banks, a Tesco, pharmacy, bus stops - all within a couple hundred yards of the hotel. Thanks to all the staff - from room service to the front desk to the people who ordered taxi service when requested - as you did a great job. We wanted for nothing.

    « Dublin Break »

Very good hotel, excellent service, I stayed here for 2 nights in may with my sister and daughter. I thought it was nearer the centre though, but it's not within walking distance of centre and temple bar. We needed to get a taxi or bus. Would ideally suit an older couple looking for a relaxing break.

« Best western skylon hotel »

we initially felt this hotel was pleasant in the lounge area but on going into the bar area were felt this was a bit of a spit and sawdust pub! we went up to our room and the disappointment continued the bed was a small double the view from the room was non existent with the curtain covering 3/4 of the window and the only small bit of the window you could look out of looked onto a factory type place as I pulled the curtains the net fell off its rail giving some nice dust ! not the bathroom was old and filled with mastic every ware the plug in the bath had no loop to pull it out. we decided to try the restaurant and ordered lasagne which we had to sent back due to still being stone cold in the middle. Breakfast was better and in a nice dining room but it didnt make us want to stay again

« Great hotel in downtown Dublin. »

We stayed at this hotel our last three days in Dublin. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are very nice. You can easily get downtown via bus and they have a shuttle that takes people to the airport at varied times for three euros per person. We would stay at this hotel again in the future.

    « Staff is awesome »

Stayed three nights. Very short walk to city bus and shuttle to airport 3 euros per person. Pleased with spaciousness and set up of room. Good tv although not many programs interested us. WiFi worked fine on my laptop but son's phone not as well. Every interaction with front desk friendly and efficient. When we came down for shuttle the last morning they immediately recognized us and assured us it was ready. This is a little better place than we cheap travelers usually stay but we had gift cards to apply and remind our trip advisor family to be aggressive with points, miles, whatever supports this habit. Only comment would be about a barking dog, but not the hotel's fault. Did not try breakfast. Too far to walk to Dublin but bus ok.

    « Waiting for room »

We arrived very early and dropped bags off and Went for a wander in to Dublin. Check in is at 2pm and its half past and we are still waiting. All we have been told is they were busy last night. Not good enough. And definitely not a good start. Let's hope it gets better.

« Excellent staff - nothing is too much trouble for them. »

We paid a return visit to the Skylon Hotel for a family celebration and once again we were not disappointed. The location is great - mid way between the airport and the city center. The staff always go above and beyond to meet guest expectations. Ciaran in the bar deserves a special mention as do Alan Whelan in the restaurant, Noel at Concierge and Paul & Alan Fitzpatrick!!! You all made our stay extra special.

    « Good Value »

We spent 2 nights and a full breakfast buffet both mornings. Buffet had everything you would ever want, quick service. Room was clean, rather small but large enough for our needs. Staff at front desk was wonderful--one young man even came up to my room with me when I couldn't figure out how to use my electric adapter. Bus stop is just across the street. Also several good restaurants across the street.

« Awesome Service and Staff »

We spent a week toward the end of April 2015 at the BEST WESTERN Dublin Skylon Hotel. We chose this BEST WESTERN because its location is the closest to the ferry port in Dublin. The rooms were beautifully appointed, clean, and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant a few times and the food was good, although a little expensive. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable and had everything that we needed to make our stay there exceptional. The only disappointment was accessibility to the city centre. It's too far to walk and too expensive for a taxi. You either need to rent a vehicle or learn the bus system (but the staff was helpful with this, too).

    « Friendly »

We visited Dublin for my sisters 50th birthday and was very pleased with the hotel. The lobby/reception gave off a good impression with the nice decor and soft furnishings. Reception was friendly and helpful. Our room was more than adequate, comfortable beds nice and clean, although we did complain of the room being cold, the hotel gave us a radiator, they said they were in a dilemma as to whether to put on the central heating or not. We only had breakfast once, it was well stocked with a choice of a full Irish which was delicious. In the bar/restaurant which was part of the hotel the food was lovely with very friendly waiting staff, there was live music; we had a nice Sunday roast. Location to the city was a bus ride away? This was not a problem as the buses were very frequent. The write up of the hotel mentioned that there was a 'spa' opposite, I promised my sister that we would go for a relaxing spa for her birthday, imagine our dismay when the 'spa' was actually a Spar grocery store, it made us laugh.

« More Than Just Near the Airport »

Very convenient location, easy to reach from downtown. Spacious reception area with enthusiastic staff made for easy check-in and out. Very nice room allowed for a great sleep before heading home. We enjoyed a wonderful meal in the bar/dining room before retiring; enjoyed talking with our waiter and shared stories of our recent trip to the Gap of Dunloe in Killarney.

    « Mrs »

My Husband and I stayed in The Skylon Hotel recently. We got a warm friendly welcome from Daniel who is a true Gentleman. The atmosphere within the Hotel stems from its staff one nicer than the other. The room was extremely well equipped even a chocolate on the pillow simple but nice touch. The food was excellent and Breakfast served in a relaxed manner. No rush, your on holiday feeling. The location is second to none when it comes to public transport. The Bus stops right at the Hotel serving Dublin Airport in one direction and City Centre in the other direction. Ideal location from Croke Park,Tolka Park and lots more. We will definitely return to The Skylon on our next visit to Dublin. Mary

« Nice, neat, spacious, room. »

Slept well in big comfy bed. Room was really lovely. Rarely had so large room when ordered just standard. Unfortunately service at the restaurant did not impress. Large lobby with live music was ever so enjoyable.
