    « last three days after month travelling »

    We were looking for somewhere to chill out at the end of our months holiday driving through France and Spain and this fitted the bill. We found the spa area really great but as a previous reviewer stated there is no water fountain here and it should be a priority. Room and bed very comfortable.We had dinner one night and it was most enjoyable ...very well presented and good quality, 3 Courses fro 25 €. The breakfast is expensive so we did not have it, I cannot pay 14 € pp for breakfast!! Despite that I would definitely stay here again . It was definitely good value for 70€ night for 2.

    « Nice Hotel »

    Nice hotel shame that the superior room was inferior. No real usable surface other than a small table big enough for a laptop. Restaurant was good., except don't ask for food between 2.00pm and 7.00pm. as there is none available to an arriving guest.

    Stayed overnight as my partner and I needed an overnight on our way to Cherbourg after a six hour drive. Upon arrival the receptionist (whose English was practically non-existent) informed us that the restaurant was closed that evening, you can imagine our disappointment as we had already decided to eat that evening in the hotel's restaurant after a long drive. She told us we could have room service but to be honest the room was so small there would have been no where to put the food. Menu was all French and while we have some French, every other 4 star hotel we have stayed in has had an English translation. A couple of hours later we decided to go to the bar to enquire if we could have bar food/snack and you can imagine our shock when we saw the restaurant occupied with residents eating!!.. After waiting a while (understatement) to be acknowledged we were asked by the waiter if we had made a reservation ... Eventually they told us they had a table but it wouldn't be ready for some time later! The receptionist denied all knowledge of misinforming us and quite frankly blanked us. The staff in the restaurant and bar were far from helpful, in fact they were at times rude. Very disappointed especially as we have stayed in Best Western hotels previously in France and were relying on the good name. Big mistake with this hotel, customer service is non-existent and would recommend avoid at all costs.

    « Quiet hotel »

    Room was good with comfortable beds and pillows, plenty of plug sockets and lamps, family room had a separate box room with two single beds, reading lights and TV. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, the pool, steam room and sauna are good, but the area is closed several times a day for aqua exercise classes. The pool area does not have a drinking fountain, and when asked for water was given a warm one, which is not what you want if you have been in the sauna! Breakfast was ok, but nothing special at €16 per head. Majority of guests appeared to be older, not really a family hotel.

    « Enjoyable Stay »

    We were here for the night before travelling on to Jersey and kind of wished we new how great the place and location were as we would have stayed for 2 nights. Beautiful location on the beach with quiet rooms. Beds were comfortable although the pillows could have been a little better, but have had worse. The highlight for us, as we were only there for a 12 hours, getting in around 730pm and needing to be out at 7am, was the food at the restaurant! We had some of the best food we had in France at great prices!! We did not go to any high end places previous to this but for the same cost as a 'cheaper' meal in Paris we got 10x the quality and flavour. Staff was friendly at check in and check out. Wifi was slow.

    « Good location and enjoyable facilities »

    We had an overnight here on the way to Cherbourg for the ferry the next day. Lovely location with great views over the sea and beach from the bar/restaurant. Small room but everything you needed- even a kettle and tea things and TV with BBC world. Good breakfast with hot and cold options. Ate in fish place in Granville. Tried the pool and sauna. Receptionists probably could have spoken English - but dutifully sorted out my appalling French. Good value. Parking nearby - not locked but it's a pretty quiet place.

    « Good but not great »

    Staff are for the most nice and helpful. We visited foe a long weekend and apart from a lady in the spa who is not deemed to say a nice word (and yet she is in charge!) everyone is quite forecoming. Rooms are nicely done and clean but rather small for a 4 star hotel. Restaurant is OK but could be a lot better - wine choice is not interesting and I have a doubt about the fish being fresh. Wi-Fi is good which is rather rare and the spa is OK although some items did not work properly. There's not really anything wrong with the hotel but you expect more for what you pay and from a best western. Also, some details bothered me like a customer who ordered dinner in his room one night, put the trolley outside his door afterwards and there it was next morning... It does not give the best image ever.. But apart from these small things all was good...yet not great.

    « Great comfortable night for a stop over »

    Arrived with a welcoming and informative reception desk. Parking is available behind the hotel but their actual carpark is further up the hill (not a problem) Rooms were super clean and modern looking and we were lucky to have a room with an outside balcony where you can sit outside and relax. Toilet was separate to a shower which was good. Room however did not appear to have air con. TV had english tv channels so we could stay on top of saturday night TV in the evening! The on site restaurant was accommodating but the food itself was ok. The duck I had was overcooked in my opinion and definitely no memorable Overall it was a pleasant stay and does have swimming pool, sauna and gym (albeit it very very small) so not bad value

    « Great mini break »

    I booked this hotel for one night with my grandson in a twin room. On arrival the receptionist realised we had been allocated a room with a double bed and immediately upgraded us to a family suite with a superb sea view. We had arrived well ahead of check in time but that was no problem. Our room was wonderful, and it was good to open the floor to ceiling windows and sit in the comfy armchair and enjoy the sea view to unwind after the journey. Before long we were taking advantage of the hotel pool area. An aqua step class (included in the price) was in progress, so the whirlpool features were turned off for the duration. Once they were switched on we enjoyed the various features. There is also a steam room, a sauna and sun beds inside and out. We did not eat at the hotel, preferring to take the short drive into Granville to eat at a seafood restaurant by the port. The beds were very comfortable and there were flat screen TVs in each room showing French, English, German and Russian language channels. The buffet breakfast was fine, with a good selection of hot and cold fare. Check out is at 11am, but there is no problem with staying and using the hotel facilities for the rest of the day as long as the room is vacated. All in all a great experience. I live just over an hour away and will certainly visit again when I am missing the sea!

    We stayed here for two nights on our way back to Cherbourg. This is a very modern but rather impersonal hotel. We were not made to feel particularly welcome either by the reception or dining staff. You felt you were being taken for granted. The room was very good with a beautiful view of the sea and a private terrace. However, there was no air conditioning and it became very hot. The only means of ventilation was to open the doors onto the terrace. This is not ideal (particularly at night) as the terrace can be accessed from adjoining ones. The Internet connection was erratic.

    « Strange bathing rules »

    The good news, good sized room, quiet, though at the street side, nice bed, good shower, separate toilet and aircon that did not work. You can have dinner too, but setting is not nice, very clean, no atmosphere. Go to Granville, only three minutes away. Then the thalasso, I was not allowed to enter as my swimshort was not a swimshort. Never heared this in my live. Oh, and they hardly speak any english.

    « Disappointing visit »

    For a brand new hotel, we were surprised there was no parking in front of the hotel where there was plenty of room for some. The room with terrace overlooking the sea was extremely small and lacked a bedside table on one side. The shower room was also extremely small with nowhere to put toiletries,etc. On the plus side, the bed/pillows were very comfortable and there was plenty of hanging space, although no shelves/drawers. The lack of air con in the summer would be a problem. We got the feeling they have crammed as many rooms as possible onto the site. Despite having made a prior reservation for dinner, which had been confirmed in writing, we were denied a table in the window, being told in a brusque manner, "they were reserved but not by us" and it was denied that we had made a reservation. One table, however, was unused throughout the evening service.

    « Worst Service in Restaurant Ever! »

    The hotel is in a lovely location, I can only comment on the restaurant as I did not stay in the hotel. We were a party of 12 who had a reservation in the restaurant, named Le Shout, to celebrate a friends birthday. We decided to try here as it was fairly new, nice looking menu and made a change from our usual restaurants. We arrived at 7.30pm and sat outside on the terrace overlooking the sea and asked for someone to take a drinks order, 40 minutes later we were still waiting.....we decided to go to our table. Our orders for dinner were taken, surprisingly we were asked to order dessert at the same time as our main course. Five people asked for starters which took an hour to arrive. As time ticked by, those that hadn't had a starter were becoming increasingly hungry, despite many requests for our main courses, they didn't get served until 10.20pm just as we had all agreed to leave. We decided as the food was there to stay and eat it and I must say it was well presented and tasted ok but by this time we were beyond enjoyment. We noticed other tables also complaining, the restaurant was not full, the restaurant manager disappeared about half way through the evening never to be seen again and the poor young inexperienced waitress could not cope and at one point was seen crying. Our idea of a lovely meal followed by a stroll along the beach sadly didn't happen. The staff deducted the price of one bottle of wine from the bill however I requested that no drinks were paid for and this was agreed, so we had 3 bottles of wine and some soft drinks free of charge by way of compensation.

Take L'Autoroute des Estuaires A84/E401 and carry on for 69 kilometers in direction of Vllers-Bocage/Vire/Saint-Lo. Take Exit 37 and continue along D33 and carry on for 605 meters.
