Best Western Aku Tiki Inn

I had a great breakfast there with better than excellent service from Lauren I had driven by this place several times and i've never been there before I was pleasantly surprised not only with the service but the food was great too,definitely coming back.

Stayed for 2 nights. Had a newly remodeled ocean front room that directly faced beach. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean! No breakfast included but you can get free coffee/tea & Juice ant the tiki restaurant. We walked to ihop across the street. Some parts are dated but they are remodeling. The construction noise starts at 9am, we were on the 4th floor and heard it. The pool area and tiki bar are dated but overall everything is clean and staff is friendly.

We had lunch at the restaurant and enjoyed it, efficient and friendly service from Lauren, I would recommend if you want a nice spot on the beach. I'm not sure why I have to write such a long review for Tripadvisor to accept it? Anyway, if you're in Daytona, I recommend.

For the money charged because of the Daytona Race you would expect it to be great! We had problems arise during check-in because of a misunderstanding and not clear communication. The restaurant and bar were very good.Some staff and the manager were rude and not owning that it could have been handled differently!

My stay, to say the least, was not enjoyable. There was a strong odor that seemed like sewage or something in the hallway outside of my room as well as inside my room when I arrived. I had reported it at to the front desk. Noise of constant banging and the sound of a drill could be heard the next morning making it difficult to sleep. Ice machines were not working. Did not get maid service. I ended up changing rooms due to the smell, but unfortunately the odor was even more prevalent in the new room. I wanted to go out on the balcony to watch the sunrise before checking out, but the patio door would not open. I will not be staying at the Best Western Aku Tiki again. Last year I had a bad experience as well. Thought I would give the hotel another try, but I was wrong. I will not be recommending this hotel in the future.

Do not go to this hotel, two weeks before the Daytona 500 they cancel my hotel room claiming renovation. Ive had this reservation booked for 9 months, spent thousands on flights, Daytona 500 tickets and time off. Manager was pissed because people have called upset. Also he was pissed because i had looked at my best western account and noticed it was canceled with no communication from them at all. A real manager would have known time management on reno and get another compnay in to help out or notify guests a long time ago. You dont do this to people when thousands of been spent to get there and then you dont even call them. A solution should have been figured out last month. Now to get a hotel room will cost double the amount of money. People need to take responsibility for their actions, you dont do this to people. Hundreds will be affected and owners might want to make things right or lawsuits im sure will come in. They knew that reno may not have been done according to management, yet they allowed rooms to be rented. at least the owner should have called other hotels and asked if them to at least give the same rates to displaced guests.

DON'T BOOK HERE EVER!!! RIP-OFF ARTISTS! I have stayed at at least 8 hotels in Daytona Beach, and this one is by far the worst. Not even close. Find a different place. This is the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life, with the absolute rudest employee. I am out $118.80 that was charged to my credit card and I didn't even stay there. We were not allowed to check in on our reservation date, yet they think they can charge for a room they could not provide on the day of our arrival. When I called them today to inquire about the charge, they hung up on me. Here is what happened. I booked a room for a 6-day stay in early December. On the day of arrival on 12/22, I went to check-in and the Front Desk clerk said she could not check us in because the place had no water. No water? She was very polite and apologized. I asked her what the problem was. She said she didn't know. I asked her how long it would be before they had water. She said she didn't know. I asked her if all of Daytona had a water main break or something? She apologized and said she didn't know. All she knew is that she was told that she was not allowed to check people in because they did not have WATER. This wasn't good. She had absolutely no estimate of when we would be able to check us in. In the meantime, we had just driven all night from PA without any sleep, arriving in Daytona around 4 p.m. We were relying upon our reservation at Best Western Aku Tiki Inn so that we could get some much needed sleep. She was very polite and apologized on behalf of the hotel. I asked her if we could cancel. She said yes, she could cancel the reservation. I verified a second and third time that she could cancel, and she said yes. She said maybe if we headed towards Ormond Beach, we may be able to find a hotel with water. Again, she had no idea of what their problem was or if it was something in all of Daytona. She simply didn't know. She cancelled the room, and we left. It was a very pleasant encounter and I was okay with everything even though we had to take the time to find another place to stay in Daytona. The charges for the first night were still on my credit card as pending. That's not unusual. Sometimes it takes a few days before a cancelled transaction to resolve. Then four (4) days later I looked at my credit card statement online and saw that the entire amount of $118.80 had been charged to my card. I called the Best Western Tiki Inn to inquire about the charge and them know that the clerk I met in person on 12/22 had assured us that she would cancel the room without any penalty. If she said it was an hour delay (or whatever), I would have waited. On 12/22 the Best Western Tiki Inn did NOT HAVE WATER and no ETA of when they could check us in, or even if they could check us in at all. The employee who answered their phone at 10:43 a.m. on 12/27/2023 said it wasn't their fault they could not check us in, and that their employee gave me bad information on that day. WHAT? She said the $118.80 was a valid charge, even though they could not provide the room. BS! It's not my fault YOUR OWN EMPLOYEE did not have the proper information about your facility failure, and turned us away. No room at the inn so to say. So she hung up on me! She never offered a coupon for another night's stay on a different date, no refund, no nothing. The morale of the story is: DO NOT BOOK A RESERVATION at BEST WESTERN TIKI INN in Daytona under any circumstance. In the meantime, we are still in Daytona at a different hotel where the service and staff is great. We roasted Smores over a fire pit last night. We plan to be in Daytona for another 6 weeks. We will be booking more rooms. I was able to easily book a night at a different hotel on the night of 12/22, and we were able to get checked into a room that night after our 14-hour all night drive from PA. I just filed a dispute with my credit card company, Francisco at the credit card company was very understanding and assured me they will take care of it as we know our rights. It is not my fault Best Western Aku Tiki Inn turned us away on 12/22. Water is fundamental to life. This hotel needs to get their facility issues under control, improve communication between their building maintenance crew and their customer facing personnel, and additional training for their customer service personnel. Whoever answered the phone at 10:43 a.m. on 12/27/2023 needs to find a new job where she does not have a customer facing role.

There was terrible weather so we had to cancel. They assured me that because of the weather that they would not charge for the rooms. I have tried to reach out several times to the local manager and they will not even return my call. I will never use another best western again

The property is under "renovations", and the debris from the renovations is still in the parking lot. Unlike what the best western website claims, there are NO ammeneties, other than internet and the pool. The TV's are not working. The resturant is only open part of the time. There is the odor and noise of construction almost constantly. I was told to park in the lines between van accessible handicap spaces, because there was no other space to park at in the parking lot. I reached out to Best Western customer service, and was told the manager of the hotel would contact me. 4 days later, I'm still waiting on that contact to happen. I would recommend any other hotel in this area, even those that rent their rooms by the hour to streetwalkers rather than this hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

We arrived at 3:00 pm on a Friday. We took the elevator to the 5th floor, within 30 seconds the elevator abruptly stopped. We realized we were stuck between the 2nd and 3rd floor. We sounded the alarm 3 - 4 times before we received any repones, mind you its 80-85 degrees in this elevator. The hotel had to call the Daytona Beach Shores fire dept to extricate us from the elevator. Long story short, we were stuck in the elevator for 33 mins, WE HAD TO JUMP DOWN FROM THE 3RD FLOOR TO THE 2ND FLOOR TO GET OUT. THE ONLY person that asked us how we were doing was the fire dept, NOBODY from the Best Western staff asked us how we were, was there anything they could do for us, I.E. complimentary stay.... complimentary drinks....etc. discount on our stay...... NOTHING!

No Beach access from front of hotel. Must walk 2 miles round trip to enter at a public site. This was the reason we like to stay on the beach. Relax-lay out-stroll. The fact that nothing was stated on the booking site was a Huge disappointment.

My son and I were hoping to have a fun and stress free mini vacation. However this hotels smell and noise gave me and excruciating headache. We had to checkout within two hours of checking in. I lost out on a lot of money because I had rental car for five days and traveled 12 hours to get there and couldn't rest. The elevator and hallway was hot and stuffy. My allergies went off the chart due to construction

The hotel is under renovation, and the beach access is closed (we knew that going in.) There is no free breakfast. Ocean view doesn't mean you can actually see more than a small strip of the ocean unless you're above the ground floor. Renovation work began at 8:00 am or earlier, so don't plan on sleeping in. The staff is all friendly, and the room was clean. However, all of our clothes were damp by the 2nd morning, even though we kept the sliding door closed and the ac on the whole time. There is no cable tv in the room, a Roku is provided, but if you don't have experience with a streaming device, you'd be very confused. The wifi signal wasn't that good, and we gave up trying to watch tv the second night due to the constant buffering. Overall, if you just need a clean room to sleep and shower in, and maybe use the pool, it's ok.

Did not enjoy at all. Noisy construction immediately overhead all day inc. weekend, bad odor causing headaches, couldn't leave fast enough. They also charged us double & didn't offer even a tax refund

We've stayed at Aku Tiki in the past and always have a wonderful time, however the hotel has damage from the hurricane, therefore it is under renovation and does not have beach access. This would be understandable IF it was announced prior to checking in. I know it will return to being a great place to stay when the renovations are complete!

Property renovations and repairs are not clearly stated during booking process. Please check before you go. As stated before I have stayed at this property multiple times and always gave it 5 stars. We are locals that come for staycations. My understanding that there are extensive plans for improvements. My hope is that the property returns to its former glory! Great destination for family, couples when fully operational and is south of the chaos in Daytona . The price has creeped up as with everything over the years. Great on site restaurant, Tiki Bar and outstanding staff.

Best pool on the beach, just clean it daily. Make this awesome place more attractive and do what needs to be done to keep present guests. Great beach views and tiki bar is a keeper. The new remodeled 5th floor looks amazing, can't wait until it's all complete. Thanks for the memories.

The motel was trying to get over the hurricane. There was no ocean access except for down the road. The elevator was broke and the fitness room closed. The TV was only roku and it wasn't even plugged up. I didn't have room service the whole 3 days that I was there and after asking for clean towels I had to go searching for the housekeeper to get clean towels. Plus my reservation was incorrect. There were a lot of beautiful motels on the strip. I chose the wrong one.

Not good - needed too many repairs due to hurricane damage but did not give a reduced rate- no beach access - ice machine not working - no cable/TV - broken chairs & tables around the property- the view from our room was great & the DJ on Saturday was very entertaining- paid $266.31 per night which was way too high for a hotel room with so many problems - I hope they can get things fixed in the future

The positives----The general manager,Maria was very professional and honest and she should get another managerial position at a motel that looks like the one in the photo.The front desk people were very nice and helpful.The housekeepers were very nice and helpful. The negatives --The motel was a disaster that should be leveled and rebuilt. No working elevator. No beach access or access BEACH at risking your life. Television access was pathetic at best. I AM VERY CERTAIN THAT THE FRONT DESK PEOPLE WERE SPECIFICALLY TRAINED TO USE" IF THEY DO NOT ASK ABOUT THE ELEVATOR,BEING INOPERABLE AND BEACH ACCESS DO NOT TELL OR DO NOT VOLUNTEER THE INFORMATION". I HAVE BEEN COMING HERE FOR 10 YEARS AND FOR THE MOST PART VERY PLEASED. THE ROOM WAS,AT BEST ,A 50 DOLLAR A NIGHT ROOM. My wife and Iwill not return to the best western aku tiki inn motel. Do yourselves a favor and book elsewhere and ask questions about all things that are mentioned above.

This oceanfront hotel has NO BEACH ACCESS and didn't care to let anyone know until check-in. NO WORKING ELEVATORS and don't know how that can be ADA Compliant. Rooms smell even with de-humidifiers everyone. Desk clerks give differing answers to questions. I have been going here for 50 years and can't ever imagine going back. It was SUCH A JOKE.

Pros: very friendly staff and housekeeping. Most of them are Jamaica and they are pretty cool people. Location to the beach was excellent although direct access is blocked off because of the hurricanes from 2022. Cons: The Wi-Fi was atrocious, especially at night, when all of the other rooms are trying to use it. It was abysmally slow. Words cannot describe our frustration with it. It went on all night long and into the morning hours. The shower water pressure was very low for a hotel. The ice machine in the hallway didn't work so you had to walk around to the restaurant to get it. Elevator is out of order. No direct beach access because of the damage from two hurricanes in 2022. We were asked to wear blue wristbands to identify ourselves as residents of that hotel, but we never did. I didn't see anyone else with them either. I could go on.

We love this place and location, but it has been a year since the storm damage part of the hotel and there's no access to the beach, hallways are hot and humid. Rooms need fresh coat of paint and walls and roofs need to be fixed. The value is poor considering that there's a lot of things that need to be fox or improved. No complains in services but hotel now is like less than average to my personal preference.

Half of the hotel is under reconstruction. The receptionist was totally unpolite. Equipment (TV set, iron, power outlets) were not working and needed replacement. Everything is poor in this hotel. The only positive thing was the sunny weather and warm ocean.

I have stayed here 2 times before. Was very disappointed with my stay this time. First off, I did not get the room that I had wanted, then there was no cable TV, no hot water for bathing one morning, banging and loud noises from men working from 0900 to 2200 and part of the ceiling material fell while I was sleeping. Luckily the ceiling material did not fall on top of me. Not a relaxing, enjoyable stay. Unfortunately no beach access due to hurricane.

STEER CLEAR. Front desk staff was very kind. Heavy perfumed scent upon entering the lobby. Rundown. Dirty. Sticky, filthy rugs. Musty odor in room. Dusty bathroom vent that had not been cleaned in what looked like months. Fitness center was closed. Under construction. No beach access. Parking lot a disaster. Not all elevators working. Cleaning crew came 5:30 PM on a Sunday! Out of quite a few “sides” for breakfast I was told they only had grits or home fries as sides. I could not leave for another property bc there was an event in the area I was attending and literally everything I'm the area was sold out. I tried! I didn't speak up there bc I was afraid they're ask me to leave if I was not happy and there was nowhere else to stay. I complained when I came home. Manager refused a refund bc I didn't say anything there. Look at all the reviews here. She tell everyone she will fix things and clearly she's addressed nothing. I will be disputing these charges with my credit card company. I have pictures to back up my complaints. (Those are my socks after walking only in the room).

This was a perfect place for us even if they are in the process of fixing several problems they had with the recent double Hurricanes - Ian closely followed by Nicole that caused many problems for several other facilities along the coast as well. The Internet at Aku Tiki was not dependable and they are currently on a list to repair it, and the nice flat-screen TV in the rooms were not functional at all. There were workers fixing shingles on the roof. There were sheets of heavy cardboard covering several floors. You could see spots on a few of the walls about the pool and in some of the balconies that were being repaired. The beach was not accessible because of the storms. BUT the staff was wonderful and our time there was exactly what we needed - a quiet place to be for 5 days and 4 nights before we moved on. The huge pool was beautiful and on warm days people were enjoying it. There were laundry facilities near the pool but we chose to use a nearby Laundromat near the close-by Winn-Dixie where we shopped. We ordered in a Pizza from a near-by place recommended by the front desk and had plenty to eat using the microwave and small refrigerator. Everyday we enjoyed a “happy hour” in the onsite restaurant/bar with a choice of two complimentary. People were enjoying the food there) but we ate in our room. The TV in the bar was working for people who wanted to see the ball games. They upgraded us to a very nice, very clean room with a small fridge and a microwave and we had two very comfortable queen-size beds and a nice tub with a shower which we prefer over the huge tubs in many condos that take a very long time to fill and are waste-full of water and hard for me to get out of. The hot water was always hot without waiting for a long time. We enjoyed the small balcony overlooking the pool and ocean view (especially at the beautiful sunrise). We could tune in local and national news on our cellphones and enjoy a couple favorite DVDs we brought and some favorite Netflick movies we had recorded that worked on our lap top. We got some work accomplished, went to our online church service on Sunday, had a ZOOM meeting, and even enjoyed some reading. For what we needed and wanted, we'd give them a perfect 10. So ignore any recent low ratings, show a little understanding of the difficulties they have had to deal with, and consider another stay. We would.

Our family stayed at the Aku Tiki Inn around Christmas and loved it. The hotel is very clean. The pool is beautiful. The views of the ocean are beautiful as well. It is in a great location and quiet. We enjoyed being away from the main Daytona beach hub while still being just moments away from it. The location was perfect with plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, and convenience stores within walking distance.

The hotel is very old and was affected by the storm in November. Some amenities are not available now from the time we booked and we weren't notified of this before arrival. There was new paint throughout the hallways but it was done very sloppy and many rooms are not even available at this time.

Visited this resort the first weekend of December 2022. While I understand the hurricanes caused some damage (Beach closed due to damage, some water damage in hotel I assume was from hurricane) this resort is missing some major upkeep and needs a renovation big time. A few things I noticed are 1-carpets are old and dirty. 2-multiple items broken. Ice machines down, elevator went crazy when I tried to use, laundry wasn't working properly, entire fitness room was out of order. 3-Basics are not met. They had 4 towels stocked in the morning for the shared pool. These towels were not much bigger than a hand towel. We asked for our room to be made over (new towels as they only stocked 2 in our room and only 1 wash cloth). They skipped the room multiple times as we went back a few times, and this wasn't done until after 5pm. 4-tons of wear and tear not being taken care of. The fridge is old and rusting, the stove was warped, sloppy paint jobs in the hallways. I finally left a day early because this place was so bad.

can not believe all the Great Reviews....anyone who walks into this dump is immediately able to smell the cigarettes and pot....place is filthy, beds not made, hair in tubs, toilets dirty, rooms smell like mold, towels dirty...this place needs fumigated to get rid of the bed bugs

Sent a group for business purposes; had to check out early due to construction currently going on on the 4th and 5th floors. Not only will they not refund us for the night the group could not stay. Several of us did not receive correct receipts so now we cannot submit our expense reports!! The front desk Manager is does not seem to understand that the receipts are not properly itemizes and good luck trying to reach anyone else. Just a complete mess. Do yourself a favor and go Elsewhere!

Nice hotel overall. They gave 2 free drinks for each night, had a DJ by the pool Friday & Saturday, full size fridge/freezer and a little stove which was convenient. Would've loved a hot tub since the weather was a bit cool.

The website said that their pool would be heated. It was not (and there is no hot tub either— wasn't expected, but would have made up for a cold pool in October). When we couldn't go in the pool, we figured we'd try the fitness room. Also a no, as it wasn't open at any point during our stay. Hard beds completed the poor experience.

I love this place because even though your in the shores it feel like your on a little tropical island with the pool and trees and tiki bar the staff is always super nice and accommodating rooms are always clean and tidy I will definitely be returning

Been coming annually for 7 years with friends. Great facility. Love the pool as it is good for lap swimming. Good conference facilities that we used in the past. Staff is friendly, helpful and responsive.

Gotta say for the price we paid, not much more to be expected. The rooms would probably need a little update, we didn't have pillows as they just gave us some kind of cushions you would use for decorating a couch. The room was clean overall, the bathroom was outdated a bit but nothing out of the ordinary for a hotel at this price range. The staff was alright, pool area is very good and the location can't be beat. If you want something more on the high end then this would be a pass, if you are looking for a good place to stay for as cheap as you can get, this is it.

we stayed with them every year for our family vacation which should rate some honor as a regular customer. We had an emergency situation at home and had to leave a day early. As soon as we found out I went to the front desk and told the nice lady we would have to leave the next morning, she said she understood and assured me we would not be charger for the last day. we always rented the best rooms this place had and always tried to be a very good customer. not only did we lose a day of our vacation and had to come home to an electoral catastrophe that cost us a chunk and motel management made us pay for a night we weren't there. its just not right they should show some honor to their good customers

This resort was clean and well kept. The staff were amazing from the front desk, to maintenance, to the restaurant/bar staff. We didn't need much, but when we did they found what we needed right then. The pool was very nice.

Traveled with 2 friends. The pool area was excellent, the location was perfect, and the rooms were clean, but could definitely use an update though. For a stay that was under $90...I was satisfied overall.

I just spent a long weekend with family at the Best Western Aku Tiki Inn. We had a wonderful time at this ocean front resort! The pool was perfect with an outdoor bar that had a DJ on Friday and Saturday night. We had a balcony with and ocean few that was very relaxing. We ate several meals at the hotel restaurant that was very good also. The best part of our stay was the hotel manager Charles. He was always ready to make our stay smooth and enjoyable!

We made an impromptu decision to stay at Daytona Beach and we had stayed at Aku Tiki previously and knew right away we wanted to stay there again if there was a room available. Everything was just so easy and the staff has always been so nice and helpful. The view and pool were incredible!

I have been here 6 out of the past 7 years. The pool, atmosphere, and location are great. This place has alot of character. We came here initially for the large kiddie pool and great breakfast but my kids are grown now and they dont have that awesome breakfast buffet anymore. Wish they at least had complimentary coffee for breakfast. The internet was not good especially with two 9 year olds. The regular price for the rooms are ridiculous. Would probably come back again but will be looking at other options first.

Parking was free, polite customer service, hotel waa clean but very dated. Nice onsite restaurant, swimming pool was lovely with a view of the sea. Hotel right on sea so room view was a side sea view. Security monitor car park walking around all night, car pulling on and off throughout night so waa disturbing at times.

I had an ocean front room with a balcony for three nights. The hotel room was as advertised. The ocean view was absolutely magnificent! The outdoor pool was as advertised and the hotel is clean. This area of the beach is clean and not crowded. The grounds are well groomed. 7 Eleven, IHOP and a grocery market are across the street from the hotel.

When I checked in the toilets weren't working they left us in that room for 26 hours like that and then they moved us to pool view and didn't even recompénsate us for our original room which was ocean front and on top of that the staff was very rude and unprofessional also the security guard closed our umbrella will raining on our personal belongings and our electronics with no regards of our property getting wet or ruined,That is definitely the worst experience I've had in a hotel

The oceanfront rooms are in dire need of repair & an upgrade. The only way I can describe the bathroom is a WaWa bathroom is nicer than the bathrooms in the oceanfront, $300/night rooms. There was a huge hole in the wall by the door to the room. The way the room is set near the beach access is amazing & it is right on the water pretty much so the view is amazing & the walk is perfection to get on the beach. But the rooms need upgraded something fierce.

I had such a horrible experience with this Best Western inn. I booked this because they had such a high rating. I was excited because I got a room with a view of the beach. However, upon when I got to the room, We saw the room was full of molds. My friend tried to tough it out but started to get hives. I went to the receptionist and was given another room. The receptionist said something like “I know there are some milds but I hope this is better.” Referring to the new room..it was not better..we immediately checked out and told the receptionist that we would be requesting for a refund..i requested for a refund but was denied because I did not cancel ahead of time..uhmmm, i did not think they would have molds in the room. Had I known, I would have canceled ahead of time.I do not understand how they could allow this to happen. Molds are dangerous to the health.

Loved staying here. The pool is great. Went to the bar to hangout and the bartender Bobbi was very nice and friendly. She was very professional when helping customers, even those who were not complying with restaurant/bar rules of having on a shirt and what not. I appreciate her professionalism in handling matters.

This hotel definitely has location going for it. Great pool area and access to the beach. The room was clean. There have been some updates, but this place needs an overhaul. For example, bathtub chipping and lamps that didn't work. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. I wouldn't say it was an uncomfortable stay, but it definitely is not high end. Not as polished as the pictures displayed online.

Me and my family have been visiting Aku Tiki annually for many years. We have always had a great time visiting the spacious pool, the basketball court, trader's restaurant and having close beach access has been a huge plus. Never really any complaints… that is until this year. I'm not sure what has changed, but it's enough that the new exterior paint and designs aren't enough to save it. Breakfast used to be included and since covid has hit they have used it as an advantage of charging a minimum of $12 a plate for breakfast. Pool towels? Grab one while you can because they have 20 and they are gone. The restaurant..wear the appropriate clothing or you will be rudely addressed for walking into their restaurant without a top. But won't answer the phone to order and bring outside to the pool tables 5 ft away. Housekeeping is an absolute joke and that has been the greatest downfall of all. Not one fresh towel, wash rag, or extra toilet paper in the 6 days we stayed. But at least they made up one of two beds on the night before we left.. same sandy sheets that were on them before. One elevator didn't work so it took over 5-10 minutes to get the elevator or stairs was another option but not ideal with large beach items. On the last night we stayed, we went to sleep early to get up at 6 am and watch the sunrise only to have a security guard banging on our door at 11 o'clock at night accusing us of smoking in our room and telling us he was going to charge us $250 extra even though 1- none of us smoke and 2- we were all asleep for over an hour. Meanwhile two days before the whole bottom floor reeked in the devils lettuce. Having two toddlers terrified because someone is banging on the door while they were asleep is not how I wanted to end our trip. The day we left a man in the elevator told us his ceiling fell in and they had to move rooms. The carpet was wet and our feet were black from dirt. I could go on and on but this trip was extremely disappointing. On a lighter note, front desk workers, bartenders, and the man who vacuums were very nice and greeting. My heart breaks that we won't be returning, next year we will have to break the tradition and find somewhere that treats their customers with respect and somewhere clean. I'll give it 2 out of 5. One for the nice staff, one for the pool and beach access, that's it.

This hotel served it's purpose for us for one night. It is a very tired hotel. The lobby looks like it has been updated a bit but certainly not the hallways or rooms. They have a nice pool area with a tiki bar and an additional indoor restaurant/bar. The view of the ocean from the pool is obstructed, you can't see it from the pool area. It was a very busy Saturday at Daytona Beach so check in took a hot minute but that didn't bother me much. This hotel could definitely use some updating! My biggest issue was how dated it was and our room was right next to the elevator. I could hear it all night long! We couldn't move rooms because the hotel was completely booked.

It was Avery nice, very clean hotel. The drinks and bartenders were great. Had am Amazing pool and breath taking view. I would recommend this for a weekend away or a weeks vacation. Must try the rum bucket

Checked in for anniversary stay, a short quick trip, as were only 1.5 from beach. Front desk staff, Terry, great, others, not so much. After 1st night, husband got ill and we needed to leave early. I requested a credit for future stay or a refund for the final night. Manager never contacted me but all I got was no, then they charged my credit card and charged not only for my room but for our friends room as well. Incompetent as well as unsympathic to our situation. I thought it better to remove an infectious guest rather than stay at their hotel and infect others but they felt it more important to charge me money. I will never go back there as long as Ms. Mohamad is the manager!

I booked this hotel through Priceline where they select the hotel, and you prepay for it. Clean, decent rooms, and a wonderful front desk gal named Kristy. That's where the good ends. I missed the first night due to a cancelled flight, but had even tried to call to let them know. I was on hold for almost 40 minutes when I gave up. I did not ask for a refund, as I understand that it was pre-paid and it was not used. I was very thankful when you offered the food coupons to help with that. That charge was for $353.40. On day 2 my key wouldn't work. I spent a half hour with managers and a young man while they tried to figure it out. I was told that I was accidently checked into someone else's reservation but that they had resolved it. I understood. We all make mistakes. Then, upon returning home I discovered a charge for $739.14 was processed on my card on May 5! Thinking they were aware of the confusion, I called. Was asked to send a print out of both credit card transactions to show the charges. I did. The "manager" finally called me back the next day to argue with me!! She tried to say that Priceline overcharged me! Priceline did not even have THAT card, and they charged me accurately on the one they had. She then tried to say that they refunded my card. There are clearly no refunds on the transaction history. She continued to argue, and say that I "didn't seem to understand how it works". What a horrible approach in a customer service industry! A mistake was made, no problem. The opportunity to make it right was given. But clearly she had no intention on straightening it out. I have disputed the charge and know it will be removed. However, I now will never visit that establishment again, even though I travel to the area regularly. She should not be in the position she is and has no idea how to correct an error they made. BEWARE

I recently stayed at the Best Western Aku Tiki Inn in Daytona Beach, Fl. I would highly recommend this hotel. It's walking distance of many amenities in Daytona Beach, on the strip. The hotel itself is very comfortable and the staff is excellent.

I booked this hotel back in January 2022 for a competition to be held in May. I planned and prepared as I knew it was a busy weekend locally for Daytona and wanted to make sure I had a place to stay. In the last week I was left a message that they overbooked and had to cancel my reservation. However, other people in my group, in the last week, were able to continue booking during that time. I have left several messages for management to contact me and they never do and I get told "we already have your message. They will get to you". This is not a professional way to conduct a mistake on your part. Now any hotel that is left for that weekend is beyond expensive, if I can even find something. Not recommending ever!

I read other reviews on this hotel and was apprehensive but clearly they were all wrong or the hotel hired new staff. They were as kind and welcoming as could be, accommodating every request with a smile no matter what time of the day, from the desk clerk to maintenance, housekeeping, and bartenders, EVERYONE was kind, patient, and friendly. It is an older beach hotel so there is understandably some rust on the metal and the hallway carpet is a bit musty but there was never any smell in the rooms, the beds were extremely comfortable and the outdoor bar and patio area were huge, accommodating a last minute celebration with over 50 people enjoying the bar, the music, and our own food we cooked. There is a lot of seating outside and a very large pool so the kids really enjoyed going from the pool to the private beach entrance, and using the outdoor shower to get the beach sand off. Again, it is an older hotel but excellent value for the price and the staff are amazing. Some of the rooms are equipped with a full size refrigerator and full kitchen and the others have a mini fridge and microwave.

The location was great, the amenities were very good, the staff at breakfast were very courteous and friendly. The vending machine did not give change and was out of water. The staff did not bring fresh towels or toilet paper I had to ask.

This hotel is outdated! The furniture, kitchen, bathrooms and even the ceiling and walls need a face lift. They have a no refund policy without the managers approval. My room was horrible! The ceiling was peeling, the toilet set was peeling and the mirrors were so old the film behind the glass was peeling. If this wasn't a stay paid for by the coordinator, I would not have spent any nights there. I came with my own lining based on the reviews and thank goodness i did. The mattress cover, sheet and towels all had brown stains on them. The tub was so ckooged that water would fill up in the tub while showering. They did make efforts to fix all the problems but there were so many they could address them all. Some of the staff is friendly while others won't even speak. As far as the rooms

We arrived early evening having already made reservations. We were greeted with a warm smile and we were quickly checked in. Two elevators make getting to upstairs floors easy. Plenty of parking that is well lit at night. Our room was clean, neat everything in good working order. Not a brand new hotel but it is well maintained and this property is in a great location. Nice bar and restaurant on premise. This is our 3rd stay and we will be back again for the right on the beach views.

Been coming here for 20 years plus, went to check in we have been getting the same rooms ground floor, forever, we enjoyed the people and atmosphere, now they have new owners, they are not accommodating at all, reserved 2 rooms ground floor, we get here and the lady at the desk was not very accommodating, she gave one of the rooms away on us, she said we don't reserve certain rooms anymore, so she gave one of them away, and the other one was going to be floor 2nd, not happy anymore and don't think we will be back. It's a shame that they will not accommodate us anymore. Thank you karen ritter, we are still waiting to get into our rooms, we have 1 sick child, they really don't care anymore . Will not be coming back. I will be telling friends that have been coming here about how the rules have changed.

The only reason they get a slightly better review is because the hotel is directly oceanfront with a great view. The air conditioning did not work. The phone was broken. They did not provide any utensils or cookware in the hotel room with a kitchen. The service was lacking in that they could not accommodate early arrival (1 hour early). The front desk clerk said “she sees I'm visiting from CO” & felt the need to let me know “there is absolutely no smoking of any kind allowed” yet the entire 3rd floor wreaked of marijuana & I have my kids with me on vacation. Not only was I insulted but then the bartender was also extremely rude. Couldn't even get fresh towels so I had to grab them from the pool area. The entire overall experience was not good.

Clean rooms and public areas, very friendly staff and free parking. Complimentary cocktails in the evening are a nice bonus. Right on the beach and a great view of the ocean for half of the rooms. Walking distance to a number of restaurants. Would stay here again.

The outside area is well kept and beautiful. The pool was clean and clear. Our room was dingy and smelled of mold. Was in bad need of an update. Carpet was dirty and lamp shades were moldy. We enjoy staying at the Aku Tiki but probably wont stay again until rooms are updated.

A great hotel, good facilities, rooms clean and spacious. The hotel has a great setup with the pool, beach bar area! Mike in the Tiki Bar is the life and soul of the place! Welcoming, friendly and a great bartender! An enjoyable stay, would book here again.

Nice balcony on the ocean. Would have loved to see the sunrise, but weather did not cooperate. Check in was great, check out even simpler. There is no hot breakfast, though. There is an on-site restaurant.

I booked 3 nights at Aku Tiki Inn, BW (daytona beach). Upon the first 2 nights woke up in the middle of the night extremely itchy across my body, especially arms & hands (some on my back as well as calves). My 2 year old son crying in the middle of the night (to which I found bug bites on his stomach and legs). Also, my sister who stayed with us in the hotel had BITES on her face and feet. Our stay was from Feb 3rd- Feb 6th. We checked in late Thursday night, so we really only had Friday and Saturday to enjoy the hotel and beach (BIG MISTAKE!) I called the front desk (Saturday evening, Feb 5th) to alert her that we needed to change rooms because of the bugs. They immediately changed our room (we stayed in room 410, they moved us to room 414 - only a couple rooms down). They did not seem suprised when we complained about bed bugs, as if this is a reoccurring issue for Aku Tiki Inn. The only thing the clerk asked us was “Are the bites visible?” ….. They didn't do ANYTHING else, they just apologized, rushed to our room and had us pack our belongings and move to another. Upon check out the next morning, I explained to the clerk that this was a traumatic experience for us. She said, “Could it be sand fleas?”…. Ummm… NO! It was also raining from Friday-Sunday (basically our entire stay - and FREEZING) so, we barely even went out to the beach! We stayed in our rooms the entire stay! We went to the beach ONCE Friday morning before rain started. Anyway, the clerk told me that she would write my phone number down and the manager would give me a call Monday afternoon at 12pm. (Today is Monday Feb/7th, as i write this review). The manager NEVER called me! I ended up calling the hotel around 4pm after waiting all day. When I got ahold of the manager, she immediately blew me off, saying it was “sand fleas”, and even though I didn't go to the beach bc it was raining, that they can get into the hotel just from me opening the balcony doors (mind you, I was on the 4th FLOOR!… and it was raining… and COLD!) She made absolutely no sense and she barely spoke english. When I told her that the bites came FROM THEIR MATTRESS, and that we woke up multiple times through the night ITCHING out of our sleep, she said she did not care. When I explained that this was a family vacay for us, and that it was traumatizing waking up with bug bites, and that I spent a lot of money to be there ($400), she said “People spend plenty of money here! That's not my problem”, and then proceeded to say she's not going to do anything about it and HUNG UP on me! I called priceline (who I booked through), and after I explained the situation to them, they called Aku Tiki. Priceline placed me on hold so they could also speak to the manager. Once off hold, they informed me that the MANAGER told them that there was “never any reports of bedbugs” and that “they aren't compensating for anything”. Basically, the manager blew price line off too and told them she doesn't care. Also, lied and said “She never recieved a call from me”…. I ended up calling corporate, filed a complaint and they sent out a ticket/citation to Aku Tiki Best Western, to which I will hear back from them within 2-5 days with the results. This was a HORRIBLE experience for my family and I. I had to throw all my luggage away. My poor son and I still are itching - 4 days later! The welts have become bloody and scabbed! Please PLEASE don't make the same mistake I did. Not only will you lose your money, but you could potentially bring a disgusting PARASITE home to your family! I attached PICTURES of our bed bug bites. I took these INSIDE my hotel room! Do yourself a favor and stay FAR away from this hotel. Had i known earlier, i could've SAVED myself $400, my luggage, and my peace of mind.

We have never stayed here before but now it is our go to place. Staff was so nice and friendly. Although I thought breakfast was included it is not. You order off a menu. Coffee and juice are free tho. The room was great, King ocean front. View was wonderful. Happy hour 4-5 drinks on the house!!!! What a great perk. That is worth the stay right there. LOL. We had dinner in the restaurant and wow what good food. Will definitely stay here again.

Used to have the best breakfast in town and free , but now you have top pay but ti is not wroth it . The free drinks you get are made with cheap liquor. nasty . Other than that this is a great place to stay . Very nice rooms with all oceans views . Maybe they will fix the breakfast

I enjoy staying here with my family I like the accommodations that they have rooms with refrigerators and stoves and a jointing rooms I like the idea you're also on the beach there's two pools there's a restaurant connected this is like my third time staying here I enjoy going there

The hotel has a terrible odor and everything is rusted. The rooms have a dehumidifier to try but the popcorn ceiling is falling because of the moisture. Bathroom look like a truck stop. Needs deep clean

I needed a break and a friend of mine recommended BW Aku Tiki. My stay was comfortable, rooms could use some updating but bed was comfortable. Except for when guests roamed hallways, I could not hear them once in their rooms, which is a plus since I am a light sleeper. The tiki bar was a nice touch, food and drinks were delish, access to the beach was definite plus.

This property has a lot to offer at a reasonable rate. A wonderful large grass area over looking the ocean with tables chairs and lounge chairs. With the way the hotel is located the pool and grass area get sun all day long. Tiki bar, restaurant, and a daily happy hour. Have stayed here many times and will be back.

could not stay the 2 nights I booked due to cigarette smoke, dirty rooms, chemical smells, unmade be filthy conditions, only received refund for one of the 2 nights I paid for even tho I couldn't stay

This made my second stay and will for sure be back! No bugs, security makes sure your safe, close to the beach, great staff, clean rooms, beds are good, views can't be beat, very quite especially on beachfront

Stayed here for 2 nights for our Honeymoon. Hotel is in a great location! Staff from the front desk to the bar/restaurant are friendly and welcoming! Room has a great view of the pool and beach! Only thing I ding this hotel on is the water pressure in the shower, there really isn't any. Small complaint but not deal breaking. Would stay here again given the opportunity.

This is a nice hotel with lot's of amenities. Big pool and large baby pool. There is no Hot Tub. Restaurant on premise, but pricy. Rooms are dated and need updating. Be careful with kids on beach. Cars are allowed on beach.. Some exceeding the speed limit.

The BW Ali Tiki is s great property! Great oceanfront location. Nice restaurant and close to everything! Rooms are nice and cleansed staff is great. One of the nicer Best Western hotels we have stayed in!

Mike at the tiki bar was phenomenal, knew exactly what we wanted and was so friendly and helpful, ended up making a random trip for dinner out to a total night stay.. best random night in your ur life!

I spent a weekend at the Best Western Aku Tiki Inn win the Villages Parrot Head Club. The hotel did everything they could to make our Club outing successful. Lisa was fantacitic. The staff of the hotoel were pleasant and helpful in ever respect. This is going to be my GoTo hotel in Daytona from now on.

Check in was easy as I had made reservations in advance, We loaded our luggage onto a cart and up the elevator to the 3rd floor. We had an ocean front room, nice balcony with great view of the ocean. This was a room with a kitchen, the full side fridge was nice to keep drinks and foods cold. We had two cars and were given parking passes to put on the dashboard and parking was free which was nice as we were transporting two cars to a destination down the road. Beach access is easy and there is a restaurant and bar onsite. Bathroom and beds were squeaky clean.

I spent a great weekend with friends at the Aku Tiki Inn. We all had a great time and I would recommend this facility to others. Beautiful well kept facility. Friendly, helpful staff. The rooms, pool, beach and grounds were attractive and clean.

This remains our go to hotel for Daytona Beach. We love everything about this place. The pool and tiki bar are awesome and the location is perfectly situated as it is far enough from the center of Daytona to not seem overly busy but still close enough to get to everything that is Daytona!

There is not enough room to say how much we love this place, so I will give bullet points below: -good price -great views in every room -super friendly staff -clean -clean -clean -large pool -tiki bar! -great tiki bar bartenders! -large grassy area to move around -comfy beds -large rooms with kitchens or kitchenettes -cute decor I feel like I'm in a far away fancy resort when I'm at the Aku Tiki, minus the added costs and inconveniences. I hope this hotel stays the way it has been, but better. Without the funds and desire to travel to some far away fancy resort in another country, this is where my husband and I chose to have our tenth wedding anniversary, and the sunrise on the beach on the morning of our tenth anniversary could not have been any more romantic anywhere else in the world!

They took away free breakfast, no housekeeping no matter how many days you stay. People send small kids to pool with no supervision. Was never given bands at check in and got hassled for not having them. Couldn't enjoy the balcony from the room by me smoking pot.

5th floor room with breathtaking ocean front views. Second time at this hotel and will be our top pick for the next stay. Spacious rooms. I took cleaning supplies with me to start out "safe" with covid and all but never felt the need to use. Room was very clean! Did have a dehumidifier in the room which we were glad for because of all the wet clothes each day. It was absolutely no problem. Great location on the beach with super easy access to everything we desired. Pool is wonderful. Took two teen grandkids with us and their first ocean experience was wonderful. Thank You Aku Tiki.

The location is fantastic...and that is all! If you like a running dehumidifier in your room this is the spot for you. Its moldy and smelly and short staffed. The pool is always dirty...no towels to be found. Smoking is allowed everywhere it seemed as well. It was quiet at night...so high five there. No parking or resort fees either. In need of a huge remodel however!

Great Hotel!!! Polynesian theme through out. Lots of Fun. Tiki Heads on Doors, statutes, etc etc. Staff was great and very accommodating did not meet a rude staff person at this Hotel. Pool was huge!!! beautiful grounds right on the beach. Every Room has an Ocean View. Free Breakfast in the Hotel Restaurant which was very good I ate something different every morning and was all was well prepared and yummy. They did a fantastic job with the meeting room and the Lunch and the Banquet all the food was well prepared. Not only all that but Free Happy Hour every day at the Restaurant Bar, also had a Tiki bar pool side. It was just perfect for what we needed and also very very reasonable. Just a Great Hotel Highly Recommend!!! Also a a Kudos to Darla at the Hotel Bar she was great! A real Gem right on Daytona Beach.

We stayed July 22-29th 2021, checked in went to room, walked over to turn the air conditioner down and the carpet was soaked in an area 3ft by 6ft right next to the bed. They were aware of this because they had a humidifier running next to it. I called the front desk right away, they said the would send someone up right away, that never happened. I called first thing the next morning they said 15 minutes, 1/2 hour later I called again. They said as soon as someone shows up they will be there. Well we went to the pool came back to find a filthy soaked filter thrown on the balcony, I guess to let me know someone came? Complained again, they offered another room on the second floor. After seeing all the pot smoking riff raff hanging around I didn't want to move lower so we stayed and emptied the FULL humidifier EVERYDAY. Eventually after 5 days it dried. Manager is a yes sir, sorry sir type who does nothing else about anything, carpet in the whole place is filthy, no room service at all, need towels? You have to call and tell them. Want clean sheets? You have to call and they hang them on your door and YOU have to change them. Everyone throws their dirty linens and garbage out in the hall and they pick it up. How sanitary! Really bummed I loved this place! The pool is still very nice but we saw the same cups, straws, plates ect. sitting around for DAYS while several employees walked right by. Food was good, every one there was very nice a little pricey. Spent way to much hard earned money on this place won't be back, to bad you had a gold mine and are running it in the ground. :( Keep looking!

Scheduled our annual conference at the Aku Tiki Inn and had a great experience. Easy to set up the conference, and banquet. Staff was friendly and very helpful during the whole process. Had many compliments from people that attended the conference. They did an excellent job and we will be booking with them again in the future.

First of all, the customer service is above and beyond anything I have experienced in quite some time. Thank you LISA at the front desk - she was AMAZING in helping us check in when we left a different hotel (the El Caribe) early. She was so incredibly kind and understanding!! Everyone at the aku tiki went above and beyond in friendliness and helpfulness from the front desk ( Lisa ), to housekeeping (Patrick - who stopped what he was doing to get us towels). The pool is huge and was never crowded. They have happy hour every night that includes complimentary drinks from 4-5. The food in the restaurant was very good!!!! Our room was extreme clean and very soundproof! I never heard anything from any other rooms or the hallway. We will come back to the Aku Tiki from now on. We actually stayed an extra night because our experience here was so positive. Thank you to all the staff who made our vacation beyond fantastic!!!!!

It was my fathers 61 birthday he has stayed previously at this hotel years before and enjoyed his stay….This year was horrible…we was told there was a complimentary breakfast which was not true had to pay $13 for a bland omelette…was not told about any happy hour or free drinks but was charged 9$ for one…my phone didn't work so couldn't use it to reach front desk or my other room since we got two… coffee pot was broke…it looked ran down nothing like the pictures…the moment you step in to hotel you can smell the mildew which was all over our rooms walls and bedding, father woke up covered in bug bites which he is being seen for to Verify they are bed bugs……we found other previous guests belongings in room…and to top it off housekeeping came in when we went out for the day and took personal belongings of my fathers we ask to speak with manager we was told we had to wait until following day she would be in at 11 so we patently waited to response from management upon check-out I ask to speak with manager again and was told she was notified about situation and she would call when she got in at 3pm…I never received a call and I reach out again still no response no call back no cares from management do not recommend this place

The hotel is pretty good for the price, it's at a good location it's in front of the beach and only an 8 min. Drive from the pier. There's an ihop, a Winne Dixie, subway, pizza and many other restaurant and gift shops just crossing the road. The pool is pretty big and beautiful, it's not very clean with a lot of things left on the ground like towels, toys etc… they offer 2 washers and 2 dryers to do your laundry they charge $2 per wash and $2 for 45min. Dryer. The rooms on the first lever are not clean at all the carpets are very mushy with grime but the ones on the 5th floor seem better. Cleaner and the smells are not so strong. I didn't hear noise from anyone on the top level just the ocean. On the first floor you hear noise everywhere. Overall it's a pretty hotel for family and comfort if you're into luxury or are too picky it's not for you.

Stayed here 5 times in 6 years. Would be 4 star if they had the awesome complimentary breakfast buffet they are known for. Added 150$ to my trip buying breakfast for 5 days for a family of 4. Great atmosphere, kiddie pool, and tiki bar!

Most of the hotels in this area are older but Aku Tiki is clean, the staff we've encountered have been very nice and it's right on the beach. I know they've discontinued daily housekeeping due to Covid. You put your dirty towels & garbage outside your door & it's picked up. You can call the front desk for more towels if you need them. It was no big deal if I needed to walk down to pick any up. The rates here were a lot cheaper than anything beachfront on the gulf. We weren't disappointed!

If you have stayed here in the past you may have liked it. It is an old hotel but it always had a nice breakfast buffet offered in the morning that was included in the price of the stay that has been done away with. It made it easier to overlook its aged run-down look. That is no longer the case and daily housekeeping is discontinued also. It is extremely overpriced now and offers you an outdated room and you get to go get your towels, washcloths, and soap from the front desk now too. Huge rip-off. Skip it and look elsewhere.

We have stayed here at the Best Western Aku Tiki many times in the past years. This trip disappointed us. The rates went up more than we expected. The 'normal' Free Breakfast Buffet that we have had for years at this location, was discontinued and was now "A La Carte" and a charge for all items. There was no housekeeping of rooms, and we had to get our own towels and shower necessities from the front desk, not from the people who had housekeeping carts. My mon has Best Western rewards and AAA and they didn't even have this information in the computer and had to readjust her bill AFTER my husband had tell the desk clerk more than once.

Our family trip to Daytona Beach was awesome! What really made our trip great was the bartender Mike we had the pleasure to take care of us. He is very attentive and made sure we left with smiles on our faces! With It being so busy and crowded other places really lacked on costumer service, but Mike stayed on top of things meanwhile keeping the mood cheerful with his sense of humor! I recommend this hotel and definitely would recommend you go check out Mike! He's truly great and 5 stars! Thank you!

This place is so disgusting. It smells weird. On top of everything is rusted and moldy. The ceiling paint is chipping. Paid 130$. Never again. Read the 1 star adds cause this place sucks. I don't think the place kept up with the covid guidelines at all.

My family really enjoys staying at this hotel. Its right on the ocean, views are great and pool is large and very clean. Rooms are very clean (this is very important to me). Staff is friendly and help in any way they can.

I loved this classic Mid-Century Modern property, especially with the overall value. Both the hotel and restaurant staff were attentive. It appears that all of the rooms will have an ocean view. I will return!

We were looking for a family friendly hotel to relax after visiting Disney World. My whole family was impressed with this hotel. Our room 101 have a perfect view, easy access to the beach and closed to the pool area. The kiddy pool was pretty convenient for my little one. The restaurant food was delicious.

We spent Memorial weekend at this hotel. I shall put the "positives" first. Location perfect, right on the beach. Front desk staff were exceptional. Tiki bar by the pool. Kids pool and adult pool next to each other. The main "negative" I had was that on the BW Aku Tiki website a complimentary breakfast was advertised. It was also advertised in the room. However, there is NO complimentary breakfast. In fact the breakfast that we paid for was overpriced a d not worth the money. Instead, go 2 blocks down to Daytona Diner where you get value for your money. Aku's Tiki bar was great as long as there weren't too many guests all, wanting to be served at the same time. Jeannie, as nice as she was, couldn't really cope when busy. However, knowing all of these points now we would return. .

I have been going to Daytona Beach all of my life on vacation. Most of Daytona Beach is run down and old and they do not allow alcohol along the beach. I'll go to hotel used to be 2 blocks down from this one and it is not any good anymore but the Best Western Aku Tiki Inn Has kept up their property. The rooms were updated and you would have not known that this hotel was Built-in 1968. The poor area is nice and everything is clean. Is Daytona is mostly only good for the race and if you want a quiet beach. If you have to go here stay at this motel you will not be disappointed.

Well first of all the complimentary breakfast that is still on the main BW site that this hotel offers, isn't anymore. They offer…nothing. The specific room I booked through the hotel wasn't available, so we were put in another and we moved into the room we booked the next day. The icing on the cake was when we were awakened in the middle of the night by the police. There was a guy on the property that was fight and law enforcement thought he ran into our room. It was something our entire stay. If you are thinking about staying here don't. I read the reviews on this hotel on several sites and thought they were just isolated experiences and wouldn't happen to us…..I was wrong. Stay somewhere else if you want a nice, relaxing vacation.

It was a perfect beachfront location, room was very spacious, clean and comfy. Outdoor bar was fun, pool was nice and the staff was attentive. Food from restaurant was good. Would definitely stay again

Dayrona police closed all bridges going to Daytona for 4 hours on arrival of my stay. Best western would not allow a late checkout of an extra hour the next day. $400 for one night, no daylight left on checkin the first day. Disappointed for sure, wasnt asking for much, just an extra hour..

Stayed for 1 night and it was very nice. The hotel room is old but clean and well maintained. The pool was nice and beach access was great. Lots of chairs, tables and lounge chairs available. Had breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was very good. We will definitely stay again.

Was advised to check in online for a cheaper rate by front desk clerk! which displayed $176 however end up paying $476 for a total of 8 hours (because we missed the night audit) once the desk clerk finally figured out what he was doing. Even though my receipt indicated we were to check out on the 23rd of May, we checked in on 22nd of May; we were asked to checkout at 11am because we checked in a 3am. WE WERE ROBBED! Management was very unprofessional the next morning as if she could care less that we wasted $400 plus dollars the first night of our vacation! You need to put your LATE check In Policy on the internet and in your lobby and stop robbing peolpe!

Rooms are old and smell terrible, moldy . Booked ocean front , switched to view of lobby roof, told because I didn't pay a high enough rate , I booked through Best Western but hotel doesn't like that. They want you to book over the phone!!! That should probably tell you everything you need to know about how the hotel operates. Staff hate their job, manager is unavailable at all times. ADA violations staff told the person “ oh well too bad” . They dislike being a chain brand and want to be independent so why be part of Best Western? The answer is they want the exposure and the positive image the brand affords them , but the price of this is the customer expects the level of service expected of the brand. Read the replies they give to customer reviews on here and the pattern emerges, “ sorry you gave us a bad review , we really don't think it's our fault , we know you won't stay again , so we don't care to change”. Avoid at all costs. The Perry is next door it's way nicer and the staff are more professional. Honestly one of the old style motels in Daytona would be better than this hotel. Avoid at all costs.

Inside restaurant and bar. Outside tiki bar overlooking ocean. Plenty of outside seating near both. Must try the mahi-mahi! Free drinks 4-5pm. (Well and butlight on draft) Spectacular room views! Friendly quick service!

Enjoyed the beach front location; friendly staff; very pleased with quality of bath fixtures such as shower head, faucet; internet is great; pool area well maintained, easy access to beach with concrete steps and hose for sand removal.

This hotel is just like any other hotel in Daytona. Somewhat outdated with a couple of upgrades. They have a kiddie pool and a larger pool that is over 8 foot deep. There is also a bar that is poolside so that was nice. We stayed on Mother's Day weekend 2021 and checked in at 2pm. I called for a cot at 4pm and they said they were completely out! So I asked for extra pillows and blankets to make a pallet on the floor, they were also out of that as well. Depending on who was on that shift, the front desk could be very helpful or have a 'we don't have it so go away now' type of vibe. But overall my experience with the hotel itself was good. BUT My experience with the Traders restaurant inside of the hotel was absolutely horrendous. Extremely overpriced. We ordered peel and eat shrimp @ 18$ A POUND and they were supposed to be 1 pound orders and when they came out I guarantee you it was no more then a half of a pound PUT TOGETHER. On top of that the waitress was very bizarre, she kept talking to our table in, what I would call, a 'baby voice' which was very offputting. After we ate our appetizers it was a solid hour before part of our food came out. A few adults and a couple of the kids got their food and then another 10 minutes a few more got their food, and then another five minutes the rest got their food (we were a party of 10). Being A bigger party I know it's going to take longer but one hour is way too long to wait. We watched at least four tables of 2+ people come in get served and leave before we even got our food. On top of that the waitress suggested that the kids food come out first, and we agreed since they were so hungry. But their food came in spurts with the rest of the table, so why even suggest it in the first place? Then we had a birthday. By the time everything was said and done we were so aggravated and disappointed that we just said forget it don't even worry about the desert/singing happy birthday. To top it all off the gratuity was included in the bill, as in there was no choice on what we could tip and THE KICKER YOU ASK??? IT WAS A 25% TIP!!! I know a lot of waitresses work hard and that's why that mandatory tip is there but this was easily the worst restaurant experience I've ever had, and I was a waitress for 5 years. So I know how things work in a restaurant and there is absolutely no reason that things went down like they did other than having a server who was just terrible. Other than The restaurant fiasco I would stay again!

We chose this vacation when our cruise was canceled. The location of the hotel was great for us. Not too crowded of an area. The beach was beautiful. The pool was a nice addition. Their pool loungers need updating immediately. I counted 5 or 6 that were broken and all of them were mismatched. The bar closed too early and their drinks were 99% juice and 1% alcohol and the food at the restaurant tasted good but was a bit overpriced. The hotel staff was friendly but no house keeping was offered our whole stay of 5 days, which was weird. The hotel wasn't that crowded which we like. We would consider staying there again as all of those issues aren't deal breakers. If we choose to stay there again, we'll bring our own alcohol.

I have been going there since 1969. We spent our honeymoon there in 74 and many times since. We were there the last few days and it's still a great place. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. The happy hour drinks. free were great.

This hotel was very clean & well kept. Check-in was great. Staff friendly. They were always cleaning & sweeping. Our room was Ocean front & very roomy. Lots of chairs at the pool & on the lawn.The outside bar by the pool seemed to have different prices for the same drink so be aware. Restaurant was disappointing. Our waitress had cut herself & had blood on my husbands menu. Food was not good as they had been wiped out with Bike week. My chicken fingers tasted like fish sticks. Big shout out to the ones that clean the room. They were always very helpful.

We arrived on Friday night for a wedding. Our room wasn't ready. We had to wait 2 1/2 hrs past the 3 :00 checkin. Saturday morning went to take a shower and the tub Was so slippery that I fell. I went to the front desk to report the incident and they offered a tub mat. “ I said yes please. I was going to wait for it but they said that they would send it to the room”. It never arrived!!!! When I reported it the two young people working at the front desk they didn't even ask if I was ok. Then we were quoted one price when we booked the room. And when we checked in the price was $60.00 higher, so that was $120.00 extra that wasn't planned for. We did have a nice room and the wedding was beautiful but the staff is horrible.

Staff was fantastic, helpful, and friendly. Room was clean and bright. View was wonderful! Bathroom was a bit small and not as clean. Small fridge was great, exactly what we needed. A ramp down to pool and beach would have been very helpful for those using wagons, wheelchairs, and/or strollers.

I checked out today from room 228 and 224 and I only have one word for this hotel is .. DISGUSTING. I am so disappointed and disgusted on how we were treated from this hotel because I found two big water bugs inside of my room of 228.My children saw the bugs and didn't want to shower at all thank god we had another room, which was 224 so they can shower and leave this hotel. The first person I spoke to was the house keeping supervisor and the first thing she told me was to speak to front desk because she can't do anything about it. Then when we got to the front desk Paulina the front desk agent told us that she couldn't do anything because she needs approval from her manager because she was stuck in a meeting with another guest. From that being said I couldn't get no compensation because I guess everybody that I spoke to are just use to living in a house of infestations. They even had the nerve to ask me for some photos like if I will actually sit there and take a picture of two roaches while my kids are screaming I'm the back ground. I would never stay here ever again unless you like to sleep with bugs . Good luck

I like the pool setup, the rooms were clean. I would definitely stay there again. I was disappointed that I didn't get a full ocean view, but the desk clerk said I only reserved ocean view, not front ocean view. I didn't know there was a difference.

We had a very nice stay...bonus weather and able to grab 1 night. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Resturant is reopened and the dinner food was good! Went down for breakfast at 10:10 and they were closed! They should stay open longer at least till 11...guests are on vacation not on a deadline...

I visited this Hotel for the first time a few months ago and I was very happy with the accomodations, the customer service I received and the Oceanfront view. Ms. Lisa at the front Desk personified the HIGHEST Levels of Customer service and welcomed me as a Platinum Elite Member. Rooms are quite large & Kitchenette is very convenient. Private balcony facing the Ocean just 100 yards away is outstanding. I am visiting this hotel again soon. Their Swimming Pool is HUge & heated THANK YOU Ms. Lisa for making my stay the best Oceanfront ever!

Hard to believe this place has been around SO long and still looks great, clean...super beds, pillows...excellent view of ocean...kitchenette..Nice staff...nice, FREE breakfast, great offer...free, on-site parking right at doors...

I stay at hotels 20-30 times a year. I have never dealt with employee that was so unwilling to address a simple customer service issue that could easily be addressed into not only a nightmare, but actually traumatized my children in the process. They still will not address issue so now we are looking into legal recourse. Do NOT bring your family here, for their own safety.

We stayed at the Aku Tiki a few years ago and loved the amenities so much we chose to stay again.. mistake. While we still love the pool and the beach location, our deluxe oceanfront had roaches. Not water bugs... live roaches. The non smoking room smelled of stale smoke to the point I left with a headache. Everything felt sticky ( doors, remote) and I don't really feel like it was properly cleaned, which is why they probably have roaches. That was my last stay at the Aku Tiki.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The clerk was very nice and gave me an option to what room to choose from. Very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I love the private balcony. You can also lay in the sun on the property grass area. I wanted to stay another night but they were all booked. Definitely going back just to relax.

We have stayed in several hotels in Daytona Beach Shores but we keep coming back to Aku Tiki for the people, the grounds are spacious, very large pool with basketball, shuffleboard, noticed all new umbrellas this stay we usually stay on the grounds area to watch the ocean they have plenty of pool areas too. We stay in the deluxe oceanfront usually or pool view kitchenette. the bkft. is limited due to covid atleast have something the resturant opened back for certain hours.

I like the hotel but they absolutely screwed us over. We paid for an ocean view and balcony. Those were literally the reasons we picked this hotel but they stuck us on the first floor with a patio and view of the parking lot. It changed the whole mood of the trip. No refunds or discount or way to switch to another room. No warning beforehand. We only had one night for a getaway and that's what we got. Incredibly disappointed.

Had a great time at this motel. Very well kept oceanfront property. Nice pool area, bar and beach frontage. Comfortable room. We scope for good places for future family reunions and this is at the top of the list. Oceanfront motels tend to take a beating but this one is well kept. Nice landscaping. Friendly staff. Will return soon!

This Best Western is located mid Daytona ocean front hotel strip, relatively close to attractions and local restaurants. The parking is small, but adequate at leas during our stay. A minus - only four ocean front rooms per floor. A bit dated and needing some attention to cleaning and maintenance details. Major disappointment was the cancelation of full breakfast due to Covid-19 and instead getting a paper bag with a couple of sub standard items... had to cross the street and spend money at a HOJO. Also affected by Covid was the Tiki bar which was not open. On the plus side - nice size pool and acceptable ocean view from the side balconies.

The hotel is right on the beach, the water is so clear and warm on summer...amazing! Most of the rooms has oceanview. If you're going with your own car, you can take your beach umbrella, cooler and chair with you. I saw most of the people in the hotel with their own. Our room was not that clean. The exit of the AC in our bathroom was really dirty. Great staff. The Tiki Bar has delicious food for a fair price and big portion. Our experience was great!

We visit the best Western sky tiki. We got there earlier and they allow us to park and besides that they gave us wristbands to enjoy the pool area. As soon as the 2 rooms were ready, we check in easy and fast. The kitchen was nice, the rooms clean and cold. In general, the amenities, the pool, the beach and the rooms were very good. The price was affordable and we got a wonderful stay. I recommend this hotel.

For the money it was a good place to stay, do not let the 4 star rating fool you, no one and I mean no one gets a 5 star. We were in a Ocean Front room on the 4th floor and I was really happy with how quiet the room was, the view was wonderful and all the staff were very cordial. The pool hours suck, we like to swim early right after good daylight, but, the pool did not open till 8AM, we swam early anyway as we were the only ones out and are 68 years old and know how to behave ourselves.

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. The hotel was clean and the staff did a good job with keeping up on CDC guidelines. We paid extra to get an ocean front room and it was worth the extra money. The beds were like sleeping on a rock. The breakfast was a real disappointment. I understand that you cannot have people in restaurant but a fruit cup and a bottle of water is not breakfast. They definitely could have done better. The bartender's need to learn how to make drinks, John Taffer would have a fit, they over pour and the drinks were not good. It was a good stay with some minor things.

we had a wonderful experience here! The staff was wonderful any time we talked to them from check in, to getting extra supplies to checkout! The facility itself was very clean and our room also. The pool was very nice and clean as well as the pool area! I loved the short walk to the beach and the shower and sprayer to wash off all the sand before coming back in. Great location! Close to stores and shops and even the pier!

We come to Daytona every summer and stay at this hotel. We love the easy access to the beach and the pool is always very clean. The hotel has plenty of outside space with the sundeck around the pool and the grassy area by the beach. The Tiki Bar is great as well the food is really good.

This is my second time staying here. It's older hotel. Great location. Good food at their restaurant which is open for lunch and dinner . They use to serve excellent hot breakfast but since COVID their breakfast bags aren't that great. We got a PB & Jelly sandwich, bruised apple , granola bar , fruit cup and small bottle of water. Basically a toddlers lunch. The rooms aren't clean. Found hair in several places in the bathroom, top of Fridge very dirty and something green on the wall, nasty. Told management and they said , Oh you should of told us and we would of sent someone to clean your room. This is after checking in after 9pm. Room had no towels. Towels you have to get them yourself housekeeping is busy. Overall staff is nice. I like the place, they were mask . Not all guest do. They just need to CLEAN the rooms . Pool is clean. Restaurant is clean. Awful pillows . Need to replace. Humidifier in the room fills with water so you have to dump it twice a day or the room and carpet feel damp. AC very loud. Wash cloth picture is from Wiping the top of the Fridge down.

Well, I was excited about this hotel because of the location and it has a solid history. I would say the hotel brand is middle market. The staff was great. Very friendly and kind. Unfortunately, the hotel is showing lots of age. The metal furnishings have rusted. A renovation is needed as soon as possible. Visible wear and spotty cleaning is an issue. The freezer was frosted over. Please see the picture. Furniture knob was missing from a nightstand. Look at the vent in the shower. Who can bathe and feel clean after looking at that filthy vent? I will say the climate control was pretty good. The room came with with a dehumidifier to improve moisture in the room. Also, I was willing to pay a bit more for onsite breakfast. However, the bag breakfast suggested was loaded with carbs and sugar. As for value, my rate was not the best buy I thought I would receive.

fire alarms goin off for no reason. Cob webs on walls. Blood on hair dryer. Not enough towels. Sheets only on bed and when asked for a blanket told there they had none. The room descriptions where not clear as to the view we would have for our room chosen. And so much more I just can't list it all.

The staff is always helpful and welcoming. The pool and surrounding grounds are well kept. We lucked out and got a beautiful oceanfront room this visit and the view was breathtaking. Right on the beach and close to the Boardwalk activities. Really missed the breakfast buffet and happy hour cocktails in the restaurant but I understand the COVID-19 restrictions.

Total disaster fee reservation was completely wrong the room was disgusting the elevator broke I was trapped inside for an hour fire alarm went off randomly two nights in a row at 3 a.m. waking up everybody it also went off randomly throughout the day the power went off repeatedly the internet was horrible the internet was a joke non-existent housekeeping would lie right to your face and tell you that they were going to bring you trash bags or towels or toilet paper and not bring you anything if it wasn't for the nice lady named Lisa in the front desk we would have never received any of the things that we needed we were there for a days on our honeymoon and it was a total disaster I had to carry my dog down three flights of stairs on four different occasions I'm disabled and my dog is elderly and unable to navigate the stairwell the ice machine was broken it was a horrible experience the hotel was a wreck total disaster

Looking for a chance to have some vacation time during the Covid virus, we elected to visit Daytona Beach and stay at the Aku Tiki Inn. The access to the beach was perfect. The hotel sits right on the beach and every room has a view. The hotel however, is showing a lot of age. It needs refurbishment, not just a new coat of paint. The shower grout was moldy, the doors have bubbled paint and rusty spots. I didn't think the room looked especially clean. Thank goodness I brought disinfectant wipes along to wipe down surfaces! The room had a comfortable bed but our sleep was interrupted for about an hour at midnight as the fire alarm kept going off. Yes, the beach was the best part, but I'd find another place to stay.

Since we got there I really did fall in love with this Inn. Everything just exceeded my expectations. The cleaness, six feet apart, the view, the pool, everything was just perfect. I felt completly safe staying there, the staff really care about our health and it shows. The grab and go breakfast meals may not have had a lot of food but had enough for satisfaction and i feel as if it was the best choice to make for the breakfast, instead of cutting it out completly. The room was huge and had lots of space. The kitchen may not have been the biggest in the world and maybe they could add another counter or two, but it got the job done and really well. Along with the kitchen there is a breakfast table of good size with four chairs. The kitchen and dining portion of our room had a wonderful and big window view of tye ocean. While we ate we could just look at the view in peace. The best were extremely comfortable and looked new and cleaned. There was more than enough storage for our stuff for 8 days. My favorite part of the room was the ocean view balcony. There was a sliding window doors and once you got outside tyere were 2 chairs and a little table. Our balcony was very big because, we had gotten the ocean view. All in all I could not have asked for a better room. I 100% recommend this hotel.

We have been coming to this hotel for years, but it gets worse and worse every time we come. We love the southern pool, it gets sun all day. They were dangerously under staffed for these times. I stayed three nights and only saw the outside restrooms cleaned once, the poolside tables were never cleaned. pool towel ran out everyday. The lobbies AC was down and it took three days to get temporary AC in, in a time when it is critical to have proper air circulation. The smell of marijuana was everywhere. This hotel is not exactly family friendly. Bottom line we will not be back ever.

The Aku Tiki Best Western on A1A Daytona Beach was a great place for the whole family. There was something for everyone to do. Shops were close enough and your feet away from the ocean. The outside Tiki lounge was fun and the pool is amazing.

I want so badly to rate this place higher because the rooms are spacious and super clean, the pool is huge, there is a wonderful space outdoors including a really nice courtyard.... all wonderful parts of this place. It could be a wonderful place for families. The problem is that too many people take advantage of this place because of its affordability and stay to party. 5 out of the 6 nights we stayed our room filled with the smell of pot every night. I smelled it in the courtyard and I smelled it on my balcony. When we took it to the front desk nothing was done. I saw so many children there and its a real shame that this was allowed. There is no way possible that someone that is staff couldn't smell it at some point. It was in the hallway, outside and in the room next door. What I would like to see is a little more security as well.

We decided we needed a quick getaway to the beach. We have for the last several years stayed at the Aku Tiki Inn. This time we choose to stay in a king ocean front room as we were not sure if there would be rain and if it did rain we were just happy to sit out on the balcony. We arrived around 11:15 am just in case we were able to get in early. Unfortunately we were not able to get to our room until around 1:30 as our room wasn't cleaned yet. There was a plastic partition separating guest from staff. Gal checking us in had a mask but was not wearing it but was wearing plastic gloves. Normally the staff as any Best Western I stay at always acknowledges my status and confirms I will receive points and my welcome back gift. But I think the gal, who was very nice was a bit frazzled due to always some one at the front desk and the phone was ringing alot. We changed our clothes in the restroom and went to hang out by the pool. There are towels available by the door to use for the pool and beach. Once again the pool temp was perfect and if you have never been there it is huge so social distancing is possible. Plus most people went to the beach and the pool was never crowded. And some chairs were removed to allow distance from others. As of right now the pool and tiki bar are only open wednesday thru sunday according to a paper we received upon check in. Known for their wonderful hot breakfast, it is not available due to the virus. Instead they are offering grab and go bags. Coffee and juice is also available. Since the hotel has a restaurant, I feel they could still offer a hot breakfast, just have a limited menu and have the food brought out to you. There is room in their restaurant to keep people social distanced. If their restaurant is now open for dinner with a limited menu, they could maybe do the same for breakfast. I feel the hotel now needs to work on renovating their rooms. Furniture is beat up, marks on walls, the bathroom should have the tile removed and just put in a fiberglass shower/tub to avoid mold which there was some black stuff on the tile grout.. And because we are not sure how thoroughly the room was cleaned, we brought our own wipes. Mirror was smudged, furniture was dusty and the chairs and table on the balcony were dirty so we also wiped them down too. We didn't have enough of towels and went to talk to housekeeping that was down the hall. She let me help my self to towels. Also to keep everyone safe. housekeeping is limited, They will not go in your room. Just put your garbage and dirty towels by your door. My husband saw clean towels in a plastic bag by the room door. We still love this Best Western hotel. We realize that rooms may take a beating, but it's time for a refresh. Be forewarned that the bathroom is small (which for some is an issue) l but water pressure is good. As we now live in Florida, visits at Daytona will be more frequent and as of now this hotel is our 1st choice. .

Our arrival was great. Lisa accommodated my family and she was wonderful. Walked in my king room on the 4th floor which had a fantastic view but i immediately noticed my mirrors and sliding glass door had finger smudges all over it. Immediately, i was concerned about sanitization and went to winn dixie trying to find sanitizer wipes which i couldnt find at publix either. Came back and called lisa, she asked the maid to come up and fix it, they never came. So naturally, i felt i was staying somewhere unclean. Stayed 4 nights, every morning we woke to screaming cussing maids. I tried to comfort one because i know guests were giving them a hard time but her unprofessional attitude and continued complaining made me feel like i was in a chaotic enviornment. Due to covid they couldn't come inside the rooms to make them up so we had to put our towels etc. outside the room and then go down to get what we needed. Yet my friends at the delta, didnt have this problem rooms were being cleaned and had a more vacation like experience. Rooms smelled horrible, were dated, breakfast sucked and everything was an inconvienence from getting toilet paper to going to the pool. Going from their well known breakfast to a brown paper bag full of a 25 cent danish, water and a fruit and nut bar i was not impressed. They could have compromised by having them serve something. They wanted you to wear a blue wrist band at the pool and they ran around harrassing us over it. paid $200 for my room back in October. I expected a somewhat relaxing and enjoyable experience. It was anything but. This was more like a 2 star hotel. Worth no more than $100 and a stressful experience. I'm really upset about this non-vacation like experience. Aku tiki has gone down we've been loyal for 5 years. Their time has come and gone i suppose. Will not be back.

Visited with friends. All beaches are open now at Daytona beach. Best western Aku Tiki Hotel is right on the beach property. You can step to beach. Very clean hotel. They are opening Pool and Tiki bar this week. Staff was Super friendly. Very nice clean rooms. Lot of oceanfront area and lot of chairs to relax. Very nice stay. 7 eleven, Winn Dixie, other shops are just across from hotel.

Stayed during coronavirus. Beaches are open. Lot of people's on weekend. Staff was great. Very clean hotel. Huge beach front area.very large clean pool. Breakfast was good. Very relaxing atmosphere.you are right on the beach. Winn Dixie across the street. Great visit.

Due to covid I escaped the depressing city and came to Aku Tiki. Thank you to all the staff because honestly even through this time they remained positive and friendly. I loved our stay and because of this look forward to coming again and recommending to others.

I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Aku Tiki. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are clean. The landscaping and the ocean view is wonderful. Great location and excellent service. The hotel offers Grab & Go bags which was great as well as coffee and juice in the morning.

Great hotel! Much nicer than expected for a spring break hotel. Breakfast & happy hour included daily. Right on the beach, nice pool and outdoor bar (but happy hour is at the inside restaurant bar). Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. (We did stay during beginning of COVID-19 outbreak so it was much quieter than anticipated.)

A very nice hotel on the beach. A great amenity is the two free drinks at happy hour that they give to each guest. Breakfast is also very plentiful. Locate in area with easy acess to minature golf and other restaurants, grocery store.

Cleanest hotel we have ever stayed at in Florida. Friendliest, most accommodating staff. Beautiful hotel with ocean views. Great pool! Hot breakfast was not your ordinary buffet. Always was hot and fresh. Tiki bar was a great addition to the area.

This hotel is a great place to stay. It is right on the ocean and has a huge pool as well. All rooms have a view of the ocean too. Breakfast is included everyday and my husband really enjoyed the free happy hours. Rooms and hotel were very clean and every staff member we encountered were extremely friendly. Prices were very reasonable. It has a restaurant, inside bar and and outside Tiki bar too. Food in restaurant was excellent and we meet so many nice people at the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Of course being beachfront is always most enjoyable. The Aku Tiki was clean throughout and comfortable. Excellent pool area and expansive grass area, with chairs, along entire seawall.

The hotel was nice and quiet, but our bathroom was dirty. The shower curtain was awful and smelled. The side of the bathtub had hair and chunks of something on it. The vent was also extremely dirty. The front desk also gave us drink tickets, but did not tell us that they had to be used during a certain time frame. We missed the time frame and weren't able to use them.

I just stayed for 4 nights - good hotel. Rooms are clean, hotel in general is very clean. Staff are friendly. Great pool, right on the beach. Public transport right outside the door (and easy to use if you buy a bus pass). We asked for a local map and they said they had none, but they did and there is info in the rooms. Beds are comfy and clean, bathrooms are clean. Don't get too hopped up over the happy hour free drinks - they are watered down unless you order beer. But still a fun event daily at 5pm. I'd stay there again for sure.

We came down for a weekend away to attend a concert. The location is great and the accommodations are nice but that's where it stops. On Saturday night after arriving back at the hotel around 10, my elderly husband got out of the car after parking directly in front of the lobby in the handicap spot. He had a white bank envelope in his lap and while getting out of the car he dropped it. The white bank envelope had $1,200 written on it. There was a little over $800 remaining. After about 10mins of frantically searching for the envelope I went up to the night manager Harvey and reported it missing . While I was explaining to him, there was a suspicious employee who kept interrupting our conversation and Harvey put his hand up and told him to stay out of it he would handle it. The next morning a manager by the name of Shamira claimed that that same employee told her two different stories. First he claimed he found it in front of the brochures (which has no cameras of course) but he changed his story that he found it in front of the vending machine. In the end, it was found with $100 remaining. After leaving very disappointed, I spoke to Shamira again and she claimed that she and her computer guy looked over the cameras and could not see anything and that all she could say was sorry. I understand that ultimately this is our mistake but the shady manner in which it was all handled is both disappointing and upsetting. It is our word against theirs and there is not proof, however it's blatantly obvious that something sneaky went on between the random employee and the night manager. I did not expect them to fork over $800 out of the business funds but question what happened with the dishonest employee. Both of the areas he claims he found it were areas we didn't even go to and it's convenient that he chose areas with no or limited cameras. A comp to the stay would have been very easy to do and would have gone a long way. A place with clearly dishonest people is not appealing and quite honestly not somewhere I'd feel safe staying again. I didn't want to give a 1 star review as I have found out there is new management and the owner may not be aware.

We've been staying at the Aku Tiki for fifteen years. We stay two weeks in June, go back for about ten days in the fall and then again in January and March. We love this hotel, however there have been some changes a management group made that were not popular, especially with those repeat guest. Since our stay in January, Happy Hour is back and they are opening the restaurant for lunch everyday which is great. This hotel is clean, safe and the staff is always welcoming and helpful! Great location! Hopefully we're back on track to the Aku Tiki we love!! We'll be back for about ten days in March!!

We got an ocean view balcony room with 2 queen beds. The staff here are awesome. We stayed on a Friday/Saturday night. Here are the pros: *great view of the ocean *staff staff staff - best part of the stay! *clean room (filthy balcony) *comfortable beds *free parking, free internet, free breakfast Cons: *breakfast was not good - the food itself was ok but the bread/pastries were old each morning and stale, so many things were out and they took a long time to refill. I asked about 3 people for bread and it took about 10 minutes for one piece of bread. *Internet is terrible. If you need wifi - do not stay here. My husband needed it for work while we were there it was possibly the worst hotel wifi we've ever had and he couldn't even use it *balcony was nice and the view was awesome but there were tons of bugs, trash was also left of our balcony and the amount of cigarette smoking coming from other balconies was pretty bad (and that usually doesn't bother me at all) *the hotel 'kitchenette' was old and outdated and you have to clean your own dishes or they charge you, which I wouldn't mind but that means that other hotel guests cleaned the dishes before me so I didn't want to use them (nor did I want to re-wash them before using them to wash them again)

We had a room on the parking lot side but you still see & hear the ocean. Personal are friendly & helpful. Helped with our luggage ETC. . . not part of their job but was really nice of them. The free breakfast is fantastic. Everybody seems to enjoy being there & helping you. Not a job as much as like your family.

Nice restaurant right inside the hotel; good dinners and great breakfast buffet. The staff are very hard-working. Pool is nice, and there's outdoor dining, just no lunches. But Publix has awesome sandwiches to go, so a balcony or pool-side picnic is in order. And an IHOP is walking distance.

staff was friendly. room was clean. service in restaurant was slow and disorganize but the server was very friendly and helpful. No mention of rewards benefits. would definitely stay here again but would not make use of restaurant

We go the Aku Tiki every year because the staff is super friendly, the location is superb and the building is exceptionally clean. We've stayed in may hotels and this is one of the best. The rooms are clean and up to date, the breakfast is excellent, the pool his heated, the bar/restaurant is nice and the beach is right out your door. This is the place to stay!

my husband and I go to Daytona a lot - we stay in crappy, over-priced hotels, but we found the Best Western which will be our 'go to hotel in Daytona' - the hotel had everything. We booked for 1 nite, New Year's eve and decided to stay another nite. Best part, we discovered UBER- the hotel is close to Main Street and the Pier

We stayed here for the second time (family with 1 child). Although the hotel is a little dated, the rooms are clean, spacious and the hotel has a great heated swimmingpool. Hotel has free parking and is situated directly on the shore. Staff is friendly. Restaurant offers complimentary breakfast and staff is friendly.

First of all, one thing that hasn't changed is the staff. Overall they were outstanding as always. However, the hotel has changed ownership and some things are not the same as they were. First of all, the famous Happy Hour is gone. This alone would be enough for me to find somewhere else. But additionally, what used to be a good breakfast is now nothing more than Hampton Inn quality swill. Nothing is prepared fresh. Fruit is in cans. It was a big disappointment. The pool is great. Because this is an older hotel, it is larger than most and is 8 feet deep at one end. The Tiki Bar (which is only open during 'warm weather') is nice, but if you're over 5' 5", be sure to duck when you go to sit down. This used to be a great place to stay, something beyond a typical Best Western. But now that's all it is - a typical Best Western. The main thing it has going for it is that it is on the beach. Main Street is 2.5 miles away, so walking there is not much of an option. Won't be going back.

3 of us (sister, husband, & I) decided to meet in Daytona Beach for their huge New Yrs celebration on Main St. they have (yes it is huge). I saw a few reviews that had me scared to book this hotel but looking it up on Facebook put me at ease some what. Anyway, I got to the hotel and the room looked exactly like the pics and the partial ocean views were beautiful. I checked room from top to bottom and it was clean, in great condition, and the staff is wonderful! I most definitely would repeatedly book this hotel again and recommend to everyone. You will not be disappointed if you stay at Best Western Aku Tiki Inn.

Couldn't reserve the room I wanted told we don't do that anymore because the guests fight over the room I was given a room away from my grandchildren down the hall and not the best veiw of the ocean I and my family have stayed here many times things are gonna change

Great location with superb access to beach. Sufficient parking. Rooms are pretty good — a bit dated, could use some renovation. Friendly staff. I would — and will stay here again. The pool side rooms (on the south side) are best.

Hotel on the beach. Hotel seemed a little out dated but still nice. Only dislike I had was people smoking on their balcony. I wanted to enjoy the view I paid for however this hindered it. Rooms are non smoking so they find a way around it.

Clean, modern hotel on the beach. All rooms have balconies with a partial ocean view. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. All the equipment in the fitness room was functional and easy to use. Free happy hour cocktails were a pleasant surprise. Breakfast in the attached restaurant was outstanding.

Really had a nice relaxing and enjoyable stay again at this hotel. They go up and beyond for us way more than we have experienced at other hotels. The breakfast is hot and very adequate. We will be back sooner than later.

Frequent your hotel for yeard, bring Company for Great Food. Advised my guest service is never good on a holiday never have additional help but FOOD IS ALWAYS TERRIFIC. True to form, not enough help, and besides bad service Thanksgiving dinner being terrible, fat on turkey, dry stuffing not enough gravy to get it all down. No one knew what was going on, so embarrassed brought my guest here.

Still my choice on Daytona Beach, but overall, the hotel is not as good as in the past. The restaurant is understaffed and the service is good, but extremely slow. The food is also of less quality than in the past.

Had an amazing vacation at Aku Tibi ! Excellent pool , food , friendly staff . Would return in a heartbeat The Hotel is updated since our last visit , featuring more modern decor . We appreciated ample handicap parking and the drink tickets to spend as we desired .

After a long day of traveling, we had the worse attempt at checking into a room that we had already booked and paid for. The woman behind the counter was frantic. She was yelling about being swamped- despite the fact that there was only one other guest in the hour we spent there attempting to check in. The manager finally came back from lunch and we started the process over again. We were told that the new owners have some crazy new policies and that we would not be refunded and we also couldn't check in for the night. We called corporate and got a free oceanfront room at a nicer BW about 5 miles away. Dealing with those people was impossible. I wouldn't recommend. They also have construction happening to put in another elevator so it is very noisy and dusty.

We have stayed at this property several times. we used to frequent other hotels in the areas which we liked also, but this is now our favorite. The rooms are large and most all have a nice view of the ocean and or pool. The front desk staff is nice Lisa was new to us this last visit very informative and helpful. The breakfast buffet is to die for much better than most Best Western. Jessica was very personable, service with a smile in Traders resturant also April. They also have happy hour in the evenings which is so nice. The grounds are large with bbq grill, basketball, shuffle board, air hockey the pool is olympic size and has a kiddie pool. Rosetta was a life saver with staying after her housekeeping shift with jumper cables for our dead battery. All around great stay.

We stayed here for one night mid November, family of 4. None of the online pictures look like the room or even the outside facade. We picked this location based on previous reviews, not sure why our experience was so different. The pool did look nice but we didn't have a chance to use it. Beach access was easy. Our room was on the fourth floor beside the elevator, elevator noise was minimal. Room looked like they just kept painting it over and over, furniture, mirror, counter top grout was all chipped and worn. Room smelled like a wet dog in one corner, smelled damp in general. A dehumidifier had been set up in one corner. Bed was comfortable, water pressure in shower was horrible and would occasionally slow to a drip. We did not have a chance to go to breakfast, we were travelling and breakfast didn't start until 7am.

This is the second time that I have stayed at the Aku Tiki! The pictures are real! Get up in the morning and see the ocean! Or if you want to sit by the beautiful blue pool there is that too! And you can swim in this one! It really is warm and has a deep end! Want to go and walk the sand then go do it! The staff here are awesome! I think they like their jobs, because that's how they make you feel!

We have stayed here a number of times and haves always loved the view and employees. The buffet breakfast is unbelievable and always fresh and hot . I love walking the beach and their pool is always warm and inviting. My husband loves going to the races , so we are both satisfied ! Lisa at the front desk is the best "check-in lady", very nice to us , which is what we needed after driving 10 hours ! Thank you everyone for a beautiful stay .

We had a short trip to Daytona beach. And had a reward night in Best Western chain of hotels. It was November, so we picked the one, which has a heated pool. Well, that day it was not heated. But anyway we felt the warmth from our hosts - everyone there was very friendly, smiling, helpful, attentive - we felt like we were welcomed there. The hotel looks nice, maybe some remodeling is needed – and we saw some projects running. It is great . The room was very nice (maybe pillows were lampy) , it had separated area with kitchenette ( with stove and full refrigerator ) and dining table and Window with an ocean view. The room also has an ocean view and the balcony. We had the door open to listen the ocean ( and thoughts – how to use that energy of the ocean . Funny) . We loved the room, the view. We checked the amenities – nice big restaurant with free very good hot breakfast included , we even got tickets for free drink (wine or beer or cocktail – your choice) . The pool area is very cozy there . The pool is big, has big section with deeper water. (One of us was even swimming there!) . There was also the children's pool, so kids may feel comfortable there. What is important – there were tables around the pool with umbrellas and a deck under the roof along the beach . I can imagine how nice it might be in season time for people, for families. The recreation area looks very-very nice, cozy, kind of homy . I also want to add, that the building has very nice shape and location, I meant - it was staying under the angel to the beach line, so every room had a piece of view of the ocean . It was smart and very nice.

I have stayed at Aku Tiki many times over the years and it is always my go to place. I experienced a negative stay over Memorial Day weekend and wrote a review describing my concerns. The management reached out to me and my husband and I returned to Aku Tiki and were so happy to see that the quality and service that we had always enjoyed had returned. They are going through some construction and I attribute some of that to the "bad weekend" along with the fact that they were packed over Memorial Day. The construction is almost completely finished and the improvements were wonderful. The grassy area by the beach as well as the Tiki bar and covered tables where you can order food makes for a fantastic beach experience. The hotel sits in one of the best locations on the beach and with a beachfront room, it is unparalleled. A restaurant on the premises makes for easy dining and it has a fabulous hot breakfast served with the cost of the lodging. What I like most about the hotel is that it is small in comparison to the mega-hotels and it has the older Florida vibe to it although the rooms are updated and very nice. Some come with kitchenettes which makes it nice if you choose to eat in. It has a nice pool and a large children's pool too although a hot tub would be really nice! The tiki bar was not open when we visited this time but it has been on prior visits and its a really fun place to hang out while looking at that beautiful view! I will be back with my family and friends. It's my go to place in Daytona and I don't live that far away!

We stayed 3 nights in a room with ocean view. It was amazing and worthful to wake up early and to see the beautiful painted-like sunrise in the morning! The rooms are large and the customer service is perfect. Nice heaten pool! All in all a real good spot to stay at the world famoust beach at Daytona!

Based on the pictures and reviews online, I guess I was expecting way more. Looked like a beautiful spot online, but it's actually very dated. Room itself was clean, but again very dated. Some of the furniture looked very old and dirty. There was always an odor in the corridors. We had breakfast each morning (included in our stay), and noticed some dishes/cutlery weren't cleaned properly. We did our laundry one night, and instantly one washer stopped working. The second one worked, but was leaking water all over the floor. We contacted the front desk, and a guy came out and put an "out of order" sign on the one not working, but didn't even bother to clean up the water all over the floor, and I did point it out to him. Apparently, the laundry services are provided by a third party, but at least clean up the water. Another night, on our way to our room, there was a guy passed out on the floor in the corridor hugging a case of beer. There were no beach chairs, that you could actually take to the beach. The hotel was undergoing some renovations at the time, so maybe this was partial contribution. Also, during our stay, it was Biketoberfest, so lots of bikes everywhere. It was very loud. We didn't know about this until we arrived. It didn't really bother us, but for anyone who don't like noise, it wouldn't have been enjoyable. On the bright side, it's an excellent location, basically on the beach. The beach is beautiful! We had a beach view room, which was very nice. We enjoyed the balcony in the mornings and evenings. The pool and back area were very nice. And even though there were no chairs to take to the beach, we did enjoy just lying out in the back, next to the beach! Each day during happy hour, there were complimentary drinks at the bar, which was very nice. Front desk/restaurant/bar/housekeeping staff all seemed very nice.

This hotel has everything you need in one place .We love that we didn't have to leave to eat .The rooms are tropical and inviting. We had great pool and ocean view .Breakfast was great .The restauraunt and Tiki bar rock! The pool is big and the grounds beautiful .Great staff too .

We have been here before, and after reviewing alternatives we decided to return. It is easy to reach from Sanford airport, and a good beach location. There was construction work in progress, but they gave us a nice room with a sea view, well away from the work, so no problem. Staff are helpful and friendly. The resturant is nothing exotic, but we had a pleasant meal in the evening, and breakfast was good. The room was clean and in good condition. Wifi worked well.

Very clean safe hotel. Breakfast is good and the restaurant serves a good meal as well. Lisa is great she will go above and beyond to meet your needs. I love staying here and I have a great view of the ocean.

Needed a room night prior to leaving on cruise. Researched on-line and Aku Tiki had good reviews. Booked on line with considerable savings. Arrived to get an ocean front room. Nicely appointed and friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast the next mroning was hot food not the normal continental.

We were there for Biketoberfest, and bikers do not always get friendly treatment. BW really took care of us! Loved the Bike Parking area the hotel roped off too. After 5 years of trying different hotels in Daytona, and being terribly disappointed, BW Aku Tiki has restored our faith! Thank you! We come over to Daytona about 4 times a year, and BW Aku Tiki is where we will be staying.

We had an ocean view room with a balcony which was great but we didn't get to enjoy it too much because it rained almost the whole time we were there. The hotel could use some updating but overall it was pretty clean and the staff were pretty friendly. We ate a late dinner at the restaurant on the hotel property and actually quite enjoyed it. The breakfast was included which was very good.

We've stayed at the Aku Tiki for years and we're never disappointed. It's a great location, everyone there is always warm, welcoming and accommodating! The hotel makes updates and improvements on a regular basis! We love it there!

What a wonderful 3 night stay. Hotel has everything you could want. They offer a free buffet breakfast every am which was incredible & a free happy hour. Our room was very clean & comfortable. Highly recommend poolside/oceanview with a balcony. The staff were friendly & helpful. This is now our go to get away in Daytona. Oh I forgot to mention they have a tiki bar at the pool with music.

We love all the improvements being made. We were a bit disappointed at the lack of service in the restaurant at dinner. Hope they get this fixed ! We have stayed here for years. The physical improvements look great !!

The check in process was smooth and the staff are very friendly, however, the rooms smell really moldy. The bathroom has a vent that was really dusty and unfortunately today's breakfast made me sick. I looked down and there was a small white worm in my oatmeal. I'm 10 weeks pregnant and extremely nauseous. Hopefully nothing goes wrong.

Great hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Renovations are almost complete and will greatly enhance the hotel lobby. Clean rooms, each room has a view of the ocean and a nice balcony/patio to sit. Will definitely stay here again when in the Daytona Beach area.

We are a group of Trekkies who came here for a fun fan weekend of activities. The hotel is clean, well maintained, lots of amenities for fitness people, great breakfast each morning. The staff was friendly and adaptable to our needs. Look forward to coming back.

This is a Great place to stay. Friendly staff and very helpful. great service, great food. Right on the beach happy hour is good with free drinks from 4:30 to 5:30. Lots of stuff close by to shop at. Close to the speedway. Easy to find. Clean rooms.

Our social group have been coming to this hotel for 17 years. We come every April or May & Sept. We get a good rate & are treated very good. All staff are eager to help & very friendly, even at the Tiki Bar. We have between 50 & 60 rooms every time we're there.

Stayed at the inn for six nights. Had a room with ocean view. I could feel the ocean breeze somedays and the view is just spectacular. The rooms are comfy , clean and huge. Housekeeping did it's best and I enjoyed my stay. You can wake up in the morning and watch the sunrise.....,simply beautiful.

The staff is wonderful! Rooms clean... nice pool and right on the beach. Love having free breakfast and Happy hour.. We have been there three times and would recommend it. Will be going back again soon.

The staff was so friendly and made our trip an enjoyable one. The facility is clean, comfortable, and worth every penny we paid. A return trip and staying at The Aku Tiki Inn Best Western is inevitable. Our rooms and views were exactly as pictured on their Web site.

We found a large cockroach running around in our room which was situated on the 4th floor. Upon reporting it to the front desk, we were quickly moved to a different room on the 3rd floor. However, my daughter discovered little light yellow bugs all over her pillows which we thought were just tiny ants at the time. Upon further inspection of the video taken, my husband and I believe they might have been baby bedbugs . Needless to say, I was ready to check out and find another hotel but it was already passed midnight and we were only staying 1 night. I will never stay at that hotel again!

Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool area was great with plenty of seating area (tables & chairs as well as lounge chairs)! Tiki bar was only open on only the weekend, but the bar in the restaurant met our needs. The complimentary breakfast was fresh, hot and delicious with a variety of options. The complimentary Happy Hour was very inviting. The view from the property was just breathtaking. Best value for your dollar in Daytona Beach!

The hotel was in the middle of some up grading, But it was very clean and the staff was extremeley friendly. The breakfast was the best that i have ever had at a hotel. The grounds had several things to keep you busy. It was a wonderful experience

Nice hotel directly on beach. Good price for area. Nice employees. Good food. Nice outside tiki bar. Nice patio area and plenty of seating around pool. Nice clean large pool. Free breakfast and free Happy hour drinks is a plus.

Great beach, nice and huge pool and friendly service - what else do I need. Free complimentary drinks during the happy hour - a brilliant idea. The rooms are not brand new, but quite well. I wish I will come back soon.

When we first got there I wasn't really impressed, they are under construction and the entrance is part of that. I imagine it will be beautiful when it is done. We had a little blip when checking in and I wasn't happy about it but Barbara took care of it for us. She even remembered to ask about my husband's being able to print his boarding pass. Our room was very comfortable and clean. My biggest complaint was the size of the bathroom, it was so small you could barely fit in it. The pool was really beautiful and so was he beach/pool view from our room. I don't know if it was the time of year or what but the beach was not too crowded. I enjoyed finding shells on the beach. We had breakfast and dinner at the adjoining restaurant. The breakfast was ok, usual stuff with a few surprising additions like tator tots. Dinner was pretty good and the waitresses were wonderful. They also had happy hour between the hours of 4"30-5"30 which was really fun. After breakfast they had cookies for the guests to enjoy. That was a very nice touch, we loved the cookies. They have a de-humidifier in the room and it really helps keep the moisture and odors down but the down side is that you have o empty it often. Not really a big deal but not all will like doing this. We were put in a room near the elevator and I immediately thought that it would be noisy but I was pleasantly surprised I did not hear any noise from the elevator. There were a few negatives but more positives.I'm not sure what they are doing in the area where the constructions is ongoing but I'm thinking that it might be the new lobby which i think would be great. I don't know if I will be back again only because I don't know that we will b going to Daytona Beach in the near future but if we were to go I'd love to see the results of the renovations.

This hotel was awesome! Very good price for off season. Staff was wonderful. The only exception was the construction out front but thats temporary and it has to be done. It was very quiet dispute families being there. Breakfast was wonderful! Overall, I will be back!

Always try to stay here whenever myself or my family and i come down. The people here make you feel welcome. Everything you need is here, the food is great, the pool is large and they are close to other attractions. They also have the best bartender at the tiki bar in the afternoons. Only thing i didn't like was i didn't book soon enough. They had no room for us the most part of my trip, but I was able to stay one night.

I have stayed here previously and had a nice time. This time it was just a bit off with the fans all over the place and other equipment connected to the ventilation system. The rooms and especially the bathrooms could use a little revamping, but it is clean. Aside from the these little things, the pool area, tiki bar and restaurant as well as the grounds surrounding the pool area are all nice and enjoyable.

We stay at this location 1 -2 times a year. Typically we love the staff and the environment. This trip however, the restaurant staff this time around were unhappy and not very friendy. It felt as though we were inconveniecing eveyone. We ended up skipping the free breakfast most mornings and ate lunch and dinner elsewhere.

My wife and have stayed here twice...one time was room 405 oceanview and the latest time was room 501 ocean front....the price for the value is probably our favorite thing but they also have a free full breakfast every morning and the pool is 2 to 3 times normal size pools....the layout of the place is nice....at one end of the pool is a restaurant and at the other end is a tiki bar and the beach....we loved the oceanfront room with balcony...it was an awesome view every time we stepped out on the balcony...we will definitely be going back...I like to stay on the highest floor because of the views but if you take kids or grandkids the bottom floor facing the pool with sliding glass doors is probably the way to go...

Great view of the ocean in room. Room is dated, and could be much cleaner. Moldy bathroom, and rollaway bed came complete with food crumbs when delivered. The breakfast is fantastic, and the Traders restaurant has steaks on par with the best steakhouses, seriously, with a great waitstaff. Front desk were friendly. Nice pool with bar, and the happy hour from 4:30 to 5:30 with free drinks was available to all. The pool area very festive with music and good size pool. The disappointing thing was the hotel is under construction and looks like Iraq from out front. The clientele leaves much to be desired, as I was behind a grown man with his pants below his buttocks, with his underwear showing. I intentionally avoid people like these in my daily life, so I was very angered to have to tolerate babarians like this on my vacation. It made me feel like I was trapped in a prison. The hotel should state in their policy that people should dress like adults, not ghetto superstar thugs from Newark NJ. In any event, I will not return because the bad element has invaded this once nice part of Daytona Beach Shores.

This was our first time to Daytona. The Best Western Aku Tiki Inn is on the beach. Upon arriving the front entrance is under construction but this did not affect the room or anything being used. The oceanfront room was great. We had a small kitchen with full size fridge and small oven and microwave. The room is slightly dated but clean. Beds were comfortable. It was great having the complimentary breakfest and a happy hour from 4:30 to 5:30 nightly for some drinks that were free. There is a huge pool. They have a Tiki bar outside by the pool and ocean. They had some games to play outside like ping pong and others which was nice. The ocean was just down a couple of stairs. Loved the service we received from the start to the finish. This includes all the restaurant staff and housekeeping as well as the front desk. They had a humidifier in the room which ran in conjunction with the air conditioning. This was a first. This would be the only pain as had to empty it numerous times a day. Not sure if this is something they have always had or the AC is not keeping up. Would return again.

Aku Tiki is a relaxing hotel in Daytona beach shores florida. The room was very comfortable, I slept very well. Nice ocean view, close to restaurants and entertainment. They offer a free happy hour daily. They also have a free full breakfast buffet daily which was good, but stay away from the gravy sausage and biscuits. The biscuits were vey dry and tasteless and the sausage paddies were white looking and had no taste. They offer a large pool with many activities available.

To say that the staff from housekeeping to the front of the house provide great guest services would be an understatement. They go above and beyond to meet the guest needs. If we had any issues they resolved in a quick and efficient time. This is a sign of providing the type of guest service that should be expected. I left an item behind and called a week later after looking for it at home. When I called they said they had it and would send it to my house. Thank you, Barber, for the excellent service you provided. From one person to another in the same industry, I would stay there again. Great location to many attraction and local dining fares.

I was extremely satisfied with my stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Barbara and Lisa at the front desk. Truly professional. 100% worth it!!! The hotel was very clean, inside and out. The pool set up was absolutely wonderful.

This hotel is beautiful. I sent an employee there for business and the location is gorgeous. Rooms are clean and comfy. Staff is friendly and efficient. Right on the beach and the class location was very close!

Property is right on the Atlantic Ocean, beautiful beach with outdoor shower. Guests were on the beach morning and night walking, running, riding bikes. Stayed ln ocean front, king bed with balcony with awesome view. Great outdoor Tiki bar with ocean breeze. Totally unexpected feeling of staying at a resort.

Awesome time, The staff was awesome. Great overall time. The free happy hour drinks was very enjoyable and great service. The Breakfast buffet was very good. The front desk staff was very nice and very knowledgeable.

Nice hotel, right on the beach. Easy access to the ocean. Not close to the pier though. Nice pool area with tiki bar. Excellent breakfast buffet. Room was nice, but bathroom was outdated and very small. Did not have a good view of the ocean from our room, even though we had booked a room with a "partial view". Overall nice stay- would stay again.

This Best Western has a great view of the ocean and accessibility. However, they do need to clean the pool area desperately. We saw dirty trays on top of a garbage can for 3 days straight before anyone removed them. The surrounding pool area was never hosed down that we could tell, so it was dirty every day. Doesn't seem they have a lost and found, because there was always stray shirts lying about. The tables and umbrellas need to be replaced - yesterday-. Just some upkeep would make a huge difference. And check before you book. They are doing renovations, so there is dust all about and noise. Housekeeping needs to be a little more careful....saw the same dirt on the floor for 3 days.... They do have a great buffet breakfast that is included, you can't beat that. The staff is friendly and helpful. I think the manager needs to take a look at reviews that arent' 4 or more stars to see what they need to change.

We have stayed at many other hotels in Daytona but none like this.The hotel is run like a resort and every detail is taken care of. We were treated like family all the staff was amazing and very attentive to our needs. The dining room is awesome they prepared an amazing breakfast every morning that you will not find at other hotels. The pool and the lounging area is always clean and welcoming. The management is doing the right stuff to keep visitors coming back year after year. We can't wait for the renovations to be done it will be great. Our family has stayed here two years in a row. Love this place. Everything is always clean. Sparkling pool and games are great for the whole family. Breakfast and Happy Hour really make the day. Location could not be better. We will definitely return next summer. Also making plans to stay here for the Daytona 500.

We had a spur of the moment trip to Daytona Beach and this Best Western had an ocean view room available for our first night and it was AMAZING!! We decided to stay a second night because it was so great and had a wonderful pool/partial ocean view room that was huge! We are already planning our return trip!

Hotel is doing renovations. The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The lounge/restaurant was nice, staff very helpful. The room was clean, nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable, but everything was very damp. The AC worked hard, it was loud and could not eliminate the dampness.

This place is older than dirt.. Staff I met were very unfriendly..seems like they hated their jobs. There are many better places close by such as Perry's ( I do not work there ) Another good place is the Hawaiann Inn

The staff at the Best Western Aku Tiki was phenomenal. They also provided fresh baked cookies and had a fun happy hour daily. They even provided non alcoholic specialty drinks to children during the happy hour. It was a fun stay and can not wait to come back!

She is a true asset to this property & I was almost confused, thinking I had landed at WDW bc of her attention to customer service. My family has found our weekend home. I have been coming to Daytona my entire life but have never had a loyalty to a hotel, until now.

Be prepared...the parking lot is a hang out and meeting place..it seems for young kids in reved up sports cars...not even staying at the hotel !!..was annoying..especially in the evening...people just parking up to go to the beach...

Excellent all around with great value, all rooms have a view of the beach. Location is excellent with easy access to the beach and restaurants in walking distance. Pool with bar and games with grill if you want it. Laundry on the premises also.

Ive stayed at other Best Western's before and have always felt it was great value for the money. This hotel was dirty and dingy. The best part of the hotel is its location right on the beach. Do not recommend.

We have gone here for 4 straight summers. It is convenient to the beach plus a really big pool and kiddy pool, free breakfast so a big selection for the kids and adults. There is a tiki bar with a pool table and ping pong. If you like to lounge in a lawn chair on grass, you even have that. Just a great place.

Our stay was fantastic. Great room it was very clean and nice, super friendly staff, awesome bartenders at bar by pool. Wonderful property, I am highly satisfied with my birthday trip!! So much fun!!!!

I have been a loyal customer of Aku Tiki for quite some time. Typically I make a reservation directly from the desk but when I called to inquire, there was limited availability so I booked through Priceline, which had the room type I had hoped to get. We arrived on Sunday with our visiting granddaughter from Tucson at approximately 11:00 a.m. I went to the desk and knew that we couldn't be checked in but thought at least we could let them know we are available when our room was ready. I had booked an Ocean View room. We had no problem waiting at the beach and had a great day. I checked again at 2:00. By now I thought they could at least take my number and let us know when the room was ready. I was told that they didn't have that capability. I checked again at 3:00 and this time they took our number. We received a call and checked in but now the elevator wasn't working. By the time we got into our room on the 5th floor, it was 4:50. We were sandy, sunburned and had to get cleaned up and now we had missed happy hour, which is one of the nice benefits of the hotel. As some kind of consolation, they extended our check out time to 12:30 but we were unable to take advantage of this due to previous plans. When we went to eat, the dining room was not busy but it took forever to get our drinks. We were told that the bartended had a migraine and everyone was trying to cover. The food was not nearly as good as we had experienced before and I attributed it to a very busy weekend and limited staff. Tables near the pool were still dirty and towels were strewn everywhere on the pool lounge chair with no one cleaning them up. We were never notified by Priceline that there was construction and given our experience and paying $170 after taxes for the room, we were very disappointed. We had a group of 3 couple stay last fall and we loved the hotel and had an excellent time. I have taken my children and grandchildren there and have never had an experience like this. To be honest, it is hard to “unsee” this weekend. I wonder if the hotel is under new management because everything seemed so different.

I choose the Best Western Aku Tiki Inn on Daytona Beach because it met all of our requirements as a family..... (on the beach, balcony, pool, tiki bar & restaurant on property, free breakfast, etc.... ). We got a room overlooking the pool deck but still had an incredible view of the ocean. The pool was nice size & heated, & theres also a shallower kiddie pool. The outdoor tiki bar sits between the pool & ocean, & there's also a bar inside the restaurant on premises, Traders. We also enjoyed the hotels FREE HAPPY HOUR between 4:30-5:30pm (at the bar inside Traders, not the outside Tiki Bar). I think I had 5 Amaretto Sours & my husband had 3 or 4 BudLight drafts. LOL. (And even tho the drinks are free, dont forget to tip the bartender... I was appalled at the number of people who didnt tip!). We had dinner at the restaurant there at the motel that night. It was pretty good. The free breakfast is also served in the restaurant too & it was great! Plenty of hot options like scrambled eggs, sausage, grits, hashbrowns, biscuits & gravy, pancakes, waffles, etc.... All those amenities definitely helped to ease the sting of the price of the room.... ($160 per night) but we will definitely be back to stay as soon as possible!

Have stayed here previously and wanted to bring husband here for the 1st time. I was at first disappointed they did not inform us they were in the middle of construction, but it didn't interfere with our stay. We were pool side which I prefer. It was nice. Like I said I have stayed before front staff has ways been friendly but did notice one employee this trip looked aggravated this time. Pool was nice, tiki bar serves great drink only down side was it closed early one night, during the summer it should stay open till at least 9 or 10 people are o. Vacation and want to enjoy themselves. Breakfast was good other than bacon didn't seemed cooked long enough. Happy hour was good was introduced to a new drink. Ate in restaurants or takeout a cpl times. Sidewinder fries are good and hubby loved and I mean loved their shrimp tacos (fried shrimp) he could eat them every night (his words). Will return.

We had originally booked an oceanfront room, we received a call the day before our trip began stating that they had overbooked and we no longer had an ocean front room. But, hey, at least they called right? They did credit some money back to our account, but the entire purpose of driving 10 hours to the beach is to stay ocean front. The next morning we went to the free breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel and at 10:03 when there were people still in line to get food one of the workers told us we needed to leave that breakfast was over. I understand that it may have ended at 10, even though we were told 10:30, so in my eyes that was strike 2. Today was our last day before check out, we went to breakfast and the same woman at 8:15 was clearing dishes that we were still working on. I think that customer service in the restaurant is definitely lacking. The pool is nice, the tiki bar is nice...and the evening shift desk worker is super pleasant but I'd recommend skipping the restaurant, especially if the short haired brown older lady is working, as being pleasant apparently is not a quality she possesses. The quality of the room was nice too.

We come to Daytona often, but this was our first stay at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and spacious. The front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly. The free breakfast buffet is good with more choices than most hotels. The pool is large with lots of seating. They have easy access to the beach. The big plus was the Tiki bar between the pool and the beach. Deanna is an outstanding bartender. She was very tentative and friendly. There was a great selection of cool cocktails.

We have stayed at the Aku Tiki for 8 years. This is still a great property but have had issues over the last 3 years with the quality of the breakfast since a management change. Also, making reservations directly with the hotel has become more of a challenge to make requests for certain rooms as we could in the past. However, overall a great place to stay. The staff is amazing and friendly.

Very poor management. The staff is overworked. There is dust and mold everywhere. Take your own toilet paper because they seem to not have enough money or time to get it to you. Oh and the noise from the construction is unbearable

I have stayed at many hotels, condos etc. Never have I stayed at a place with impeccable hospital as this one. Every employee I came in contact with was so friendly and hospitable. The room was nice, the pool and amenities were perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better mother's day. My hats off to this friendly place. Thank you.

We had a really fantastic time here. The staff is amazing, to start. Everyone is so kind and accommodating. We arrived pretty early, around noon, and they were able to check us in right then, no problem. The rooms are typical beach side hotel rooms, and very very clean. The kitchenette came in super handy, and comes equipped with kitchenware/utensils. The one thing I really liked about this place was you don't have to leave the property if you don't want to, and we didn't. Between the kitchen/bringing some basic groceries, the restaurant (Trader's), the free breakfast and the tiki bar you can just check in and relax. We traveled with our two year old son and the staff was all SO sweet to him, and I really appreciated that. We were able to dine poolside via the tiki bar, which was so nice and convenient (and the food is delicious). The bartender even brought the food over to us, which was unexpected and so nice since I was trying to wrangle an insane toddler. The pool is a good size, and my kiddo had fun in the little baby pool too. The beach is easy access, and the poolside rooms have a lovely view. We'll definitely be back, for sure.

We booked 2 days before our stay. Hotel was just ok. It is under renovations at this time. Room was not ready until 4pm. The elevator was not working when we finally got our room. I do not believe our room was worth the price we paid! They have a nice bar and decent drinks but there was a bartender that was sick and letting everyone know how sick she was while working. Very slow serve. Otherwise the hotel was clean and rooms were clean. Nice balconies. The view of the beach is blocked by a bar on the pool deck. Somewhat disappointed and will not stay again.

We arrived early and the room was available. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were updated recently. They had a temporary front desk location and construction was going on but there was no disruption. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. There was a large pool and deck area with tables and lounge chairs. Also a grassy area to sit along the beach. There was a nice outdoor tiki bar and a restaurant with a bar as well. The room was clean and large. And although some of the furnishings were older they were well kept and in good condition. Bed was very comfortable. We had a side balcony that was near the beach end of the hotel and it was very nice! We only stayed one night, but wished we could stay longer. If I had a small complaint, it would be the bathroom was a little small, but not too bad. We ordered food from the restaurant for lunch while we were on the beach and I walked up and got it. It was a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich that was awesome. Great, clean, friendly hotel for the price.

On a short business trip from Baltimore to Jacksonville my girlfriend and I decided to spend a few days cruising A1A..We had looked at hotels in St Augustine,..but,...decided to go as far as Daytona Beach and take a chance at the Aku Tiki. Best decision of the whole trip. The hotel doesn't look like that much from the outside,..but,..once you get inside the place is awesome. Pauline at the front desk was great checking us in and fixing a few reservation issues(our fault,..not the hotels).Also,..the pool,views of the ocean,access to the ocean,great complimentary breakfast,and complimentary happy hour all added to our enjoyment. FULL DISCLOSURE,...we stayed sunday and monday mid May.The price in season must be substantially more than what we paid. For us the value we received for what paid was worth every penny.Thank You Aku Tiki.

Aku Tiki , is more like a resort than your average hotel. The rooms are large, clean and most have ocean and or pool views. The grounds are very lush and tropical with plenty of open areas to lounge by the ocean and or the Olympic size swimming pool, kiddie pool near by, gas grill, ping pong, bean bag toss. The happy hour was a nice touch and the breakfast buffet was the best I have seen to be all included. The staff were very friendly from check in ( William, Amy) pool guy Gary, Ed security/maint. Debra (Traders restaurant) and meeting the new manager briefly. The only little draw back remodeling front lobby to install new elevator which will help the hotel, presented no problem with our stay. We plan to return.

We visited our favorite DBS hotel again in May 2019. We arrived the day they moved the front desk to the area adjacent to the restaurant entrance to work on replacing the lobby/hallway a/c and heating system. There wasn't any interruption or reduction in services or convenience for the nine days we were there. The shuffleboard area is now south of the Tiki bar and wasn't finished when we were there this trip. There are additional tables with umbrellas by the Tiki bar where the shuffleboard was. East of the Tiki bar, next to the beach wall, is a new decorative block wall and area with charcoal grill for guests to use. It has a wide walkway of paving blocks to allow wheelchair access. Often the delicious aroma of food being grilled now wafts over the grassy area where the chaise lounges are. We love the tiki accents in the halls, lobby, restaurant and of course the huge tiki head out front. They add to the exotic island theme that's reinforced by the beautiful lush plants on the grounds, we hope they never remove them. The staff is the best, Chelsea, Ward, Rose and the rest. Friendly, helpful, smiling all the time, always saying hello and willing to help. Plenty of free parking on both sides of the hotel which is conveniently located on A1A between International and Dunlawton. There are power open doors to the left of the lobby and at the ramp out to the pool by room 101 for wheelchair access if needed. There is a ramp down to the pool on the south side of the pool for wheelchair access to the pool area. The bubbles blowing in the ocean breeze over the pool area when the Tiki bar is open are a festive touch. Sadly, the Tiki bar wasn't open several days/evenings that it could have been. We stayed nine days this visit and were sad when our stay was over. The included breakfast and happy hour are wonderful perks and makes a stay there an even better deal. DW loved the pillows, I needed a flatter one and a housekeeper was happy to get me one to use. There is Trader's restaurant with full bar on site, a 7-11 across the street, an iHop about a half block away, a post office, grocery and liquor store about a block away. The only negative for us is the amount of cigar/cigarette smoke in the air when you are enjoying the beautiful ocean/beach views on your patio or one of the outdoor tables. I believe the people in the adjoining room this year (102) were smoking in their room one night, I smelled smoke in the general area of the door between the rooms. Perhaps the connecting door should have a better seal? We hope to return year after year as long as we can travel. The Best Western Aku Tiki Inn is our home away from home in the DB area... our slice of paradise on earth. ***The love-bugs were abundant a few days we were there. Nothing at all anyone can do about them other than clean the dead ones up. For some reason, our patio didn't get swept while we were there and there were several dead love bugs. Not a big deal, but other patios were cleaned while we were there. It's hard to keep the sliding door glass clean, partially because of the hotel's proximity to the ocean.

This was to be our "ok we'll try it one more time" stay. Thankfully some positive changes were made. Our room was clean enough, and our housekeeper was very nice. Carrie in the restaurant was delightful. The front desk staff was terrific. This property still has a nice vintage feel, and we stay for a few days and never leave the property! Great pool and beach access, and nice grass area with tables, chairs and umbrellas. Cant beat the view! The few things I didnt like were the lack of a rubber tub mat, and no full length mirror in the room, and the interior of the windows needed cleaning. The music played out by the pool was too loud for us, and the hot breakfast items were lukewarm, but the breakfast is very nice, with lots of items to choose from. The beds are very comfy, and the shower was nice and hot, with plenty of water pressure. We were really happy with our stay. We stayed in a 1st floor oceanfront kitchenette, which was roomy and perfectly situated to the pool and beach. We will absolutely return!

The room was adequate however there were lovebugs on the balcony. We paid extra for the room and the desk personnel were unable to remedy our issue. The hotel had broken luggage carts and was not very clean.

Note: this hotel is under construction. They will tell you about it, even (after you book their expensive room, of course). The front door is barricaded, there are supplies piled up next to the front, and the A/C in the main hallway is broken (as of May 2019). We arrived at 5:30pm on a Friday. We asked for a good view, and got the room on the 5th floor with windows mostly on the pool. Our door (room 524) was directly across from the elevator, which obviously resulted in some noise at unfortunite times. There is only one elevator in this hotel, but it is fast. The ATM next to the elevator has an $8 fee. The vending machines next to the ATM take only $1 bills or quarters. The access to the beach is nice, although there are no signs pointing it out. We took advantage of the “free breakfast” on Saturday. It was just as unremarkable as all hotel breakfasts are. The bacon was greasy, the little round sausage patties weren't browned at all (I think they were steamed?), the eggs were watery, and the hot sauce was hidden in the corner of the counter, far away from other condiments. The lady taking our “free breakfast” tickets was nice enough, but when I dared approach the other one to ask directions for ice water, I got a mean face and an eyeroll. Really? We had breakfast at the IHOP across the street Sunday, and got real eggs and bacon, and zero attitude. Our room had a full sized fridge that looked clean. There were some meager cookery and silverware supplies in a cabinet under the sink. The silverware tray was just sitting on the bottom on the cabinet, almost on the floor). Lots of lamps, electrical sockets available for chargers, clean bathroom, but stained mildewy railings in the tub, and stains on the ceilings. All rooms have balconies. I had to clean the two chairs on our balcony, and the tiny plastic ‘table' between them was broken. Parking is free, and while the main lot is often competely full, there is a second lot on the other side of the hotel. Both while driving to and from the hotel, and while walking on the beach, we couldn't help but note how much nicer the hotels next door are. Overall, we had a good time by doing our best to ignore all of this hotel's many shortcomings, but we will look for a nicer option in the future.

Hotel was very accommodating. Beach location was great... pool very large and the tiki bar was a bonus! Evening free happy hour was unexpected along with food in the restaurant was very good for the price.

I was at Best Western Aku Tiki Inn for 3 nights between 4/26 and 4/29 and had a great time. Hotel location is good, beach front with a nice pool but note that if you decide to go out at night it's a 5 to 10 minute drive to get to the area where there are nice bars with live bands. Near the hotel there are supermarkets, convenience stores but nothing associated with nightlife. There's a restaurant near the pool where they serve daily breakfast and a happy hour from 4:30-5:30pm when there's complimentary beer, wine and well drinks. That's something every hotel should do! Room was clean, friendly staff but they weren't flexible when I asked for a 2pm late checkout even though it was on a Monday afternoon and the hotel was empty. They didn't even offer me the option to pay an additional fee for the late checkout. I understand the hotel doesn't need to honor our late check out requests but a lot of them do especially during weekdays. I'm taking off another star because I booked an ocean view room but they gave us a first floor apartment so we had zero privacy when using our balcony (since it was an open space facing the parking lot). The front desk lady should have asked us before giving us that room but she didn't. So keep that in mind. I would suggest booking a room facing the pool (since the beach front rooms tend to be more expensive)

hotel was conveniently located to where we was going. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was always fresh and hot. Only concern was our remote came up missing after we had our room cleaned but they brought up a new one as soon as I reported it.

I come to Daytona every month and I have never experienced such a bad hotel. Room was not cleaned bathrooms were stained beds were stained bugs were in the tub. I went down to management and they did not care since I booked through a third party. He told me to "leave if I don't like it". hallways smelled of cigarettes and weed. I have stayed in much cheaper hotels which were cleaner and actually cared about their rooms regardless of how it was booked. STAY AWAY if you want to enjoy your vacation.

I visit Daytona every month and have never experienced something so disgusting. The room had bugs and the toilet had not been cleaned. When management was advised we were told there was nothing that could be done and our only option was to cancel and find another place to stay.... absolutely ridiculous customer service. Definitely won't be back.

We stayed six nights and upon arriving Lisa at front desk upgraded our room free of charge. Room was clean view was amazing .Free drinks everyday during happy hour a great bonus . The free breakfast was the best we've ever had with more choices than we've ever had. Hotel is old, so decor is outdated, but amazing staff and views made up for it. A great experience at checkout where we had to leave at 3am to catch a flight and front desk clerk gave us breakfast bags to go, which we were unaware you could do, but appreciated it . Highly recommend this hotel, you won't be disappointed.

Overall a pleasant 1 night stay. Room was clean, bed comfortable, shower worked great (except it had those awful shower curtains with the magnets on the bottom....useless) Front Desk staff was terrific. A couple of problems with the room but were rectified promptly. Everyone was friendly. Really good value.

This hotel is conveniently located right on the beach. You can go out the back door and the beach is just 50 feet away. The nightly happy hour in the lounge is a nice perk. There are games in the outdoor lounge area that provide entertainment for young and old. The pool is quite large and clean with plenty of lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas for those that want a break from the sun.

I first started going to Aku Tiki i 1969. I spent many summer vacations there on the beach. A fun spot when your 21 back then.My wife and I spent our honemoon there in 74 and have revisited it many times over the years. It still feels like home. We went back last spring and plan to do a couple days later this spring. Don't let everyone knoe. as I want to be able to get a room.

We stayed with family. New Landscaping looks very good. New LED TVs in tiki bar and Restaurant were very nice. Balcony railing looks much better now after renovation.New Tiki Bar with Quartz looking great. Food and Drinks are excellent. Staff is always great

We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Check in was quick and we were pleasantly surprised with a free room upgrade. The staff are super friendly! The room was clean, beds were comfortable and the pillows were perfect. The free breakfast buffet had different options each morning and good coffee! Let me add, this is a full, hot breakfast buffet. My family and I stayed at the hotel for spring break 2019. The beds were hard. The pillows looked like a half of pillow stuffed in a pillow case. The room was nice size. The patio curtains were stained with mildew. On the 3rd day we did not receive towels or wash clothes until that evening. We had to have breakfast cards to eat breakfast each morning. There could of been better selection at breakfast. The pool area was wonderful. And the access to the beach was worth the stay.

After an initial mix up over our room, (I reserved a room with an ocean view, and was given a room with a pool view ) our vacation was excellent. I always enjoy the breakfasts at Best Western, the weather was perfect, and it was a very good and relaxing vacation.

My husband and I stayed at ATI for 2 nights. Wonderful stay. I especially loved the grassy area that overlooked the beach! so relaxing! We will return and bring friends and family members. Free hot breakfast was also delicious!

I can't give enough accolades to the staff at the Aku Tiki hotel. The atmosphere is extremely relaxing❤️I visited for the first time a little over 5 years ago. It is the only hotel that we will stay at! The property is well cared for, the staff, again, I cannot say enough about. It is our home away from home⭐️I chose to have our wedding there almost 2 years ago. My Norman Rockwell moment, fell apart at the last minute . They set everything up perfectly on the beach and a thunderstorm blew in a day early( zero rain in months). The whole staff pulled together and made my dream come true in a matter of hrs. Chelsea, Terrie, Lisa, and the new gentleman Billy thank you for making every stay wonderful ❤️ We highly recommend that you try the hotel, well worth it!

The hotel grounds were beautiful! Pool is wonderful, lots of things to do on site. We had room on level 5, pool/ocean side spacious, beautiful view. Breakfast was very nice had different items each day, nice selection.

I've been going to the Aku Tiki for over 45 years and it's always wonderful. The staff is outstanding, accommodations are great and location is excellent. We can't wait to visit again this year. Never disappointing.

We stayed at the Best Western Aku Tiki Inn for 3 nights in February. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The kitchenette was a bit outdated but practical. Nice heated pool. Manager's Happy Hour (free drinks between 4:30 and 5:30) was very appreciated. Great view of the pool and beach from our balcony.

It was the worst hotel experience we've ever had. Uncaring staff at the front desk is NOT what this hotel chain needs. The room sounded like it was going to take off in flight or someone was stomping around on the roof nightly.

The location was great as well as the staff. Most of the employees have been there several years and that tells me something about this hotel. They all take great pride in giving the best service. Very safe place to stay. If you don't want to go out for dinner, the hotel restaurant is not bad and the bar is great also. This hotel is always my first choice when in Daytona

Hard bed and small view of the ocean. No hot tub on the property. This would be better at a much cheaper price. The breakfast was good not great. Do not get a room by the elevator, the sound of it going up and down comes through the wall.

The hotel was clean and comfortable with a very caring staff. They have a great location right on beautiful Daytona Beach. We had an ocean view room. It is a room on the side of the hotel where you still get a nice view for less money than a front view. The breakfast buffet was nice and well attended with several workers keeping the food stocked and fresh. It did the trick for us. The nice surprise was the happy hour from 4:30-5:30 every day with beer, wine, and mixed drinks available for free. We were there during a cold snap and were so pleased we stayed at this hotel. The pool had full sun all day and blocked the wind. We were very comfortable and able to be at the pool all day. We walked down the beach and noticed several high rise hotels that blocked the sun from the pools. I would not want a pool that didn't get sun all day. We were there in March. Finally, the outlet in our bathroom didn't work. I notified the front desk who promptly sent up the maintence staff to investigate. He then asked us a good time to replace it, and it was fixed when we returned to the room. Great service! I recommend this hotel for your stay.

Great Visit to Daytona Bike Week. Hotel cares about its guests, especially the motorcycle riders during Bike week. Provided safe motorcycling parking, water, soap and towels to wash the bikes. We especially liked the free cocktail hour. Very nice touch.

We have stayed at this hotel for several weeks every year for the past 19 years and it only gets better each year. The hotel is right on the beach and, rooms are clean and bright and the hotel staff is the friendliest of any hotel we have stayed at. They have an excellent breakfast and rotate the menu selections frequently enough to satisfy patrons who are long term quests. We always look forward to returning and seeing old friends.

We have previously stayed at this location and just spent the last weekend there. We had an ocean front room, which is spacious, nicely decorated, and our first time on the ground floor which was very convenient. The complimentary hot breakfast buffet has a big variety and is very good, and they also have a free happy hour every day from 4:30 to 5:30 (they only have one bartender so the line is pretty long, really need to have 2 bartenders during happy hour!). We ate dinner in the dining room and it was delicious. Check in was fast and easy and we did express check out. The pool area is very nice and there is a tiki bar with areas for basketball, corn hole, ping pong, etc. and a grassy area overlooking the beach with tables and umbrellas. I highly recommend this location.

Overall very good. But just had an initial issue with the humidity and mildew smell inside the room. The issue was fixed when there was 2 dehumidifier placed in the room. The staff was very acomadating.

I have stay at the Aku Tiki every time I come to Daytona, I love the location, I have never had any problems with the staff the only issue I have is the Fitness room is way to small and does not have any modern equipment, or free weights, so if you are into fitness like I am don't go you will be wasting your time.

Just returned from a weekend getaway. We were very impressed by the staff . They were all extremely helpful and polite. The rooms were clean,and comfortable. Food in restaurant was great. Location wise, it was close to anything you might need. I would return.

We went to the Aku tiki inn for the second time in a row due to the Daytona 500 we decided to stay there for 4 days. The experience of the hotel was good but It needs major renovations. The last time this place is renovated?: 2000 (except the door entrance locks). The vending machines, hallways and the rooms are outdated and needs some replacement or repaints.

Arrived on Thursday for an extended weekend stay, Check-In customer service was just the best, nice room, beautiful ocean view, wonderful clean property. Enjoyed our morning coffee in the lounge chairs oceanfront watching the Sunrise! A Perfect Way to Start A Day!

From the minute we stepped into the lobby, this visit was memorable and made me want to return again soon!! The extensive breakfast and complimentary cocktail hour are not to be missed. The beachfront location with plenty of loungers and chairs both on the lawn and around the pool is perfect! Can't wait to return to the Aku Tiki!

We stay each winter for several weeks. This year was a little different as the hotel recently changed ownership. But don't let this stop you. The only difference we noticed was they has done away with the weekend ommlet bar however breakfast is still amazing. The staff from new GM Jeff, Front desk, Lisa, and housekeeping, Pierre are still wonderful. All of the staff is super friendly and helpful. This hotel is on the beach and has a great heated pool. Everyone going to Daytona should try it.

We spent three nights here in February. Had an ocean view and a very good room. We wanted one with a love seat but they were already booked. However, we were comfortable. The included breakfast was not any different from most hotels in this class. Not sure if we would stay here again, mostly as we like variety. Best part was the "World Famous" beach! Overall, very good.

This was our first time to Daytona beach and we were not disappointed! Our room was perfect, Oceanview right in front of the beach! The staff was very friendly and the free breakfast buffet was delicious. The happy hour was okay, I think to add to the whole “tiki” theme they should have specialty drinks to order on the happy hour menu! Some tropical drinks would be extra tasty. We would definitely come back again

So lucky we decided to stay there. Got a poolview/patio room and it was so nice to sit by the tables just outside for lunch or just playing games with our son. The pool area was clean and the view of the beach is just something extra. The room was clean, and the cleaning staff was very nice, and so was the girls at the front desk. A really good breakfast is included and the happy hour at the bar is one of a kind. Must say it again, that all of the staff, from the cleaners to the receptionists and the girls at the bar/restaurant made our stay very pleasant. We will be back!

Never again the room had mold in it and I had my 2 year old with me the bed had blood on it and they said it was just a spot I paid for oceanfront and got ocean view the room had a nasty smell and the hot water only stayed hot for about 3 mins I reported everything and no one seems to care never fixed my problem

The view from the rooms is gorgeous! We had a handicapped room and it was great. Clean, just a great spot to hang out at. They have a pool & bar area and a restaurant attached that has the best food at the best prices on the beach!!! The service at the entire location was impeccable!

We've been going to the Aku Tiki for years. Just stopped by for three nights on our way further south. As always, everyone was wonderful! Lots of updates on the Tiki Bar area with new pavers, countertops and painting. Everything looks great. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Daytona. Great location, clean, comfortable and safe!

We stayed at Aku Tiki last August and we were hooked! We live about an hour away so this is a fantastic weekend get-away. We've stayed three times now and this is our go to place. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful. The huge pool is heated. Rooms are clean and spacious. The staff, from front desk to lounge to the room attendants, are all friendly and smiling. Prices are really reasonable. The hotel offers a complimentary full breakfast every morning and a free Happy Hour every afternoon. Really a nice plus. The food In Trader's Restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. And there are great waterfront restaurants close by in both directions!

Hotel has been upgraded in last several years. Beautiful layout and lots of options for sunning. Activities such as shuffle board, basket ball, ping pong. Nice tiki-bar but was told it is being re-modeled as well. Restaurant is excellent. Pool area very inviting. Rooms are nice.

The staff was very friendly during our 6 night stay. The breakfast was included and there were a ton of options available. The staff worked hard to keep everything stocked each morning. The cleaning staff always said hello when they saw me. I had an ocean view and could watch the sun rise each morning. The pool was nice and warm as well! The only downfall was that my bed was way too firm for me.

We stopped here on our way back from disney so the kids could experience a florida beach, and we wasnt disappointed! We had a room with an excellent view of the ocean, perfect beach front access, and it was super quiet. We would like to make a return trip to experience more of daytona, and we will definitely be staying here again!

After reading numerous reviews, and checking out lots of the competition, I settled on Best Western and crossed my fingers since this was a very last minute booking over New Year's holiday. When I arrived, and found out the elevator was not working, I figured that that I had made the wrong choice. Although I was offered a chance to cancel with no fee, and go elsewhere, I figured I'd give it one night, and search again in the morning knowing my options were limited from my previous search. Needless to say, I ended up staying the whole trip, and the customer service I received throughout my stay made all the difference. The facility is older, and in the three star range, but the staff, especially Chelsea, are so friendly and really make the experience so much better. The room was a nice size, but the bathroom was tiny. Didn't spend much time in the room because the weather was wonderful, and the beach side location and landscaping is fabulous. The hotel is in a quiet area, but not far from the Main Street/Boardwalk area. Rented a bicycle from nearby Boogie Down rentals, and explored the area from the beautiful Ponce Inlet lighthouse to Ormond Beach, and everything in between. The breakfast buffet is filling with a good array of options, and enjoyed a delicious meal in the onsite restaurant. Had an absolutely wonderful stay, and truly enjoyed my first trip ever to Daytona Beach.

First of all, I just read the terrible review from the last person. I also stayed there for New Year's and yes, the elevator was not working. Do NOT believe this guest in that the place looks like a crack den (?) Clearly they have the Aku Tiki confused with another establishment. I work in the hotel/hospitality industry and it is idiots like this who leave terrible, unwarranted reviews! This is a really nice hotel. The grounds are well-kept. Very nice pool area and also the grassy area before the beach. Look at the photos of the property, they speak for themselves. I live about an hour away, and my boyfriend and I come to Daytona to get out of town. I found the Aku Tiki on a booking site and decided to book a Friday night stay about a month ago. We have been back three times! The restaurant is very nice and great food! You also get a great happy hour and breakfast included. The rooms are cozy and comfortable with ocean views. Just a great hotel in a quiet stretch of A1A. There is a 7 Eleven across the street and a Winn Dixie just north of that within walking distance. The staff is wonderful! I must mention Lisa and Chelsea at the front desk!! Chelsea checked us in on New Year's Eve and had someone assist us with our luggage because of the elevator situation. We chose and stuck to the 4th floor,...she did offer us another room on a lower floor. Darlene in the restaurant, Trader's, is so very nice! She remembered us as repeat guests! This is a well-rounded hotel for amenities and cleanliness. I highly recommend the Aku Tiki!!!

After arriving to location I admit I was iffy pulling up to location this place is ridicules after the sick counter attendant check us in highly disgusted she books a room for the 3rd floor elevator was out of service and hotel was hot and muggy floor was damp others were complaining I'm with a 80 year old and with limited walking ability so stairs are out of the question she stated that that it will be fixed Wednesday I'm frustrated upset and just canceled the complete stay there had to book a last minute stay which turn a disaster into the best thing that had happened to me in months. this place looks as if its a crack den or meth house I wouldn't advise anyone to stay here I watched a 84 year old woman with a cane who had just learned to walk again who was on 5th floor walk down the stairs I was highly pissed to the max.

Traveled here to spend one night on the way elsewhere. I wanted a hotel on the beach that was not too expensive but was still nice. From check in, staff was so welcoming and good spirited. The room was large enough for four people or more and each room was either an oceanfront or ocean view (with balconies). We were in an ocean view which was pretty nice. There is a microwave and mini fridge in the room. The bed was very comfortable in my opinion. The hotel has a restaurant/bar that actually has very good food and service. There is also a happy hour from 4:30-5:30 where you can get a free drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). There is breakfast served each morning which has a decent variety and which was also included. Although this was my first stay at the BW Aku Tiki Inn, it left a good first impression and this is quite possibly the hotel I book next time I stay in Daytona Beach.

When we arrived, staff at the front desk was friendly. Building looks nothing like posted pictures and is old and unkempt. Kids described it as “greasy”. Hallway has low ceilings and smelled of vomit. Within seconds of being in the room, I moved the humidifier and three cockroaches scurried from under. We had staff come in, explaining that we were leaving and had travelled 20 hours and had no lodging. They had their roach spray and sprayed the room with my daughter there. The lady said she'd tell the front desk that she didn't see any roaches. I explained that they were definitely there and this wasn't a ploy to get a deal as we were leaving without planned accommodation. Again, front desk staff was apologetic and lovely but the conditions were subpar.

our two night stay was fine except the bathroom toilet was about 8 " from the floor ! Almost fell several times trying to sit. This was not a handicap room and no reason except it was designed for "little people". Breakfast buffet included was not kept hot and items not refilled very often. Disconnected breakfast.

Originally I had reserved a room for 3 nights and thought I would try another place but was satisfied enough that I stayed an additional 3 nights. Nice view of the ocean facing north east, certainly some rooms have better views with the ones facing directly east having the best ocean views. Great breakfast in the morning and the amenities offered are a nice range. The pool was sparkling and the grounds well kept. There are many choices to stay in the area but his one is a very good choice at a fair rate.

GR8 place to stay! - Right on the Beach! - Very excellent Breakfast Buffet - Bonus!... Excellent Restaurant for Dinner as well. GR8 Value for the money. Absolutely no complaints!... We are in Florida for a month, will probably stay there again before we leave.

The receptionist and Rose were so welcoming we just had to stay here. The room was very clean and large, with a fabulously large comfortable bed. The shower was really powerful. Lovely balcony. Free happy hour 4.30 - 5.30 and the bar tender looked after us. Free hot breakfast with everything you can think of. I had corn beef hash, patties and English muffin. But there was something for everyone. The outdoor pool was very inviting as it is heated. Free parking. Fantastic value for money. I would definitely stay here again

Best Western Aku Tiki is an excellent hotel in an excellent location. It is located right on the beach in Daytona Beach, with many restaurants and stores and other services located nearby, many within easy walking distance.

It is always such a pleasure to stay at the Aku TIki. Getting to see Chelsea and Terrie with big smiles on their faces and said "Welcome Home" is a great feeling. We don't have the time in busy schedules to visit as much as we would like, so the extra warm greeting was very special. The whole staff is fantastic and the room wonderful! I am still talking about how awesome my wedding was, it's a great story that many get to enjoy.

Great hotel property was clean and well-maintained I love the vintage old Daytona feel with the tiki theme decor. beautiful views of the ocean right on the beach. excellent breakfast buffet, balconies with every room which I always look for. extra large pool and a bar and restaurant on site. I saw one of the best sunrise's I've seen.

We come twice a year and always get the room we want, the personal service we like and always make new friends too! The pool is one of the biggest in Daytona Beach. We always have a good time and it is hard to come back home.

We had a nice clean oceanfront room with fully equipped kitchenette. We had a safe in the room which was very convenient. The hotel is very nice and reasonably priced. The staff was great especially in the breakfast area which had a great buffet breakfast with many choices. The pool is sparkling clean and everything was just perfect. We love staying at the Aku Tiki...even have a favorite hotel room overlooking the pool and ocean that includes a kitchenette. The hotel is very nice and reasonably priced. Front desk staff is great! Everyone is always smiling.

I checked in late so I missed the free cocktail hour, so it's cool that they do that. We were given vouchers for breakfast which was also cool and the breakfast was decent. As soon as I got off the elevator to go to my room, I knew I made a mistake. Gross. Dark hallway that hasn't been painted in a good 20 years or more. Wiring running the length of the hallway on the wall. Color scheme horrible. This nightmare continued into the room. Everything had a musty, sticky feel. The toilet looked like it came from a public bathroom. There was rust on the outside of the tub. In the morning I went to the beach for sunrise and passed through the pool/bar area. Much better feel to this area. Direct beach access. But the inside!!!! Never again. Paint, carpet and lighting would go a long way at this hotel.

This hotel is very clean, the grounds are very well kept and the pool was sparkling. The room was great and the view of the ocean was perfect. The entire staff was very friendly and the restaurant food was wonderful. I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door and offered assistance with my luggage. Troy as well as the other front desk women were very helpful and courteous. I will definitely stay here again.

This was a last minute stay and I was a little nervous because from the outside the hotel from driving by previously was dark and looked very uninviting... However I was VERY surprised when a I walked they the doors at how nice it was decorated and how homey it felt... The pool and the ocean view were all beautiful and the breakfast was delicious.

It would have been nice to have the bar open a few hours later than 9:00 p.m., but otherwise the drinks were great. I will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here as part of a road-trip around Florida. Hotel in a great position, located right on the beach, and all rooms have sea views. Excellent pool, with a path down to enjoy the beach and sea.Great experience also driving the car on the beach too. We had breakfast which has a wide range of tasty options. My grandson of 7 loved making us pancakes for us all. We also saw a rocket take off from the Kennedy Space Centre, which topped the stay off nicely.

Modern with adorable grounds here. Classic in its original design, it reminded us of being in sunny Polynesia and relaxing in a traditional bungalow. When checking in, there was a slight mix up with our reservation and Troy was a PRO in resolving the situation to our satisfaction. Within minutes we were happy campers! My family and I, enjoyed our stay. The pool, basketball court, shuffleboard, bar, restaurant and ocean front beach access were definitely highlights for us. Not to mention the Hotel is in front of the beach and the pool deck is amazing. There is certainly plenty to do in Daytona Beach. Best Western Aku Tiki was the perfect choice for our family getaway. With great location, customer service and kindness to this level, I will surely visit again and recommend to anyone. Thanks folks!

Walls paper thin and contractors work even on Sunday. Complained at front desk and they say nothing can be done. Could not even be moved to other side of hotel.Great customer service Best Western. Best Western should refund 50 percent off rooms. Will contact the our company to remove from hotel list. Bring ear plugs.

We had pre-booked this hotel through Booking.com but arrived a little later than expected. However, we were welcomed very warmly and checked in quickly. The room was very clean and spacious with a small balcony overlooking the car park and beach. The outside area is outstanding with a beautiful pool, tables and chairs and an area overlooking the beach. Breakfast was tasty with a good choice of hot and cold food and drinks. It was nice to have the choice of sitting inside or outside to eat.

Good location on ocean front with a good service. Big clean room with fridge. Ocean view and swimming pool by the beach. steps from downtown. Stay there twice a year for many years....Sure you will enjoy to stay there .

Friendly, helpful staff - beyond all expectations. Loved the location of the hotel and the hotel grounds and amenities. Bed and pillows were extrememly comfortable, room was very clean and spacious and loved the oceanfront view from the balcony! Will definitely stay there next time in the area and highly recommend - great hotel for families, too, and you can't beat the free breakfast that's included. You will not find a better value or experience, even if you spend more!

The room was clean and roomy. Property nicely landscaped and had plenty of seating beach side and poolside. Complimentary cocktails were a nice touch. The breakfast was delicious. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Location was not close enough for walking to other restaurants and activities.

Lovely facilities, Caring Staff & availability of De-humidifier, upon request for those of us with allergies, etc. was a real plus. No interest is staying elsewhere when my travel plans take me to the Daytona Beach area!

Decided last minute to go away for the night. There was one room left;however didn't realize I was booking through a third party so didn't get my member points added for the night it wasn't too bad. They were able to accommodate us with a king bed with ocean view. Keep in mind there is ocean view and ocean front. Ocean view was still very nice. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Happy hour was great as was the dinner and breakfast was fantastic. The staff is as accommodating as possible. The pool area is beautiful and ideal for kids and adults alike.

Everything about the experience at the Aku Tiki was perfect, from the friendly front desk staff, the great comfortable room with ocean view to the Housekeeping service. We felt pampered from the moment we checked in. I have always like Best Westerns. Some are old others newer, but overall the experience is usually great. And their rewards program is the best from other chains in my opinion. We cannot wait to go back.

Breakfast items had a variety to suit the 14 of us. Beds super comfy. Property is well maintained. Staff is friendly. Price a big value considering the extras. Large swimming pool, Tiki Bar added to the atmosphere of fun.

I have been staying at the Aku Tiki for more than 20 years. We typically stay for 5 days during June or July. The staff is phenomenal. Everyone is courteous and professional. My family loves the different options and places you can enjoy the sun from the pool, the grassy oceanfront area with tables and umbrellas, or down at the beach. The free breakfast and happy hours are much appreciated! I would recommend to get to breakfast early, as it gets quite busy. Each year, I love the Aku Tiki more and more!

This is the Hotel I have found in Daytona with the best staff and a Tiki Bar knows how's how to make drinks . Your room over looks the beach or the pool depending on how you book your room . The breakfast was great . You have shops , and grocery stores and other restaurants within walking distance . I JUST LOVE HAPPY HOUR THE BEST WESTERN AKU TIKI LOUNGE HAS TO OFFER FOR THEIR GUESTS !!!! I will definitely be booking my next Vacation with the Best Western AKU Tiki Inn . P.S. Room 506 was infested with roaches. We have stayed in this room many times prior and never saw a bug. Something bad happened since last year and it ruined our stay. We checked out 3 days early due to the staff's inability to fix the problem. We were told twice there were no other available rooms. They sent a staffer up to the room after our first request to have the room sprayed. We went down the street to ACO three times to buy bug spray and despite spraying the room daily, they kept on coming. It was so bad, we slept with all the lights on our last night. The staff could not have been any nicer or more apologetic, but when I have bugs crawling across my back at night it's time to say bye bye. I asked Chelsea to refund 2 days as a goodwill gesture, she stated she'd have the manager call me. I did not get a call, but did receive a standard "Sorry our hotel did not meet your expectations" email from someone by the name of Steve Farley. As a platinum member who spent $2,000 I expected better.

Rose and Kat go way above and beyond and it is all about the guests and there comfort. Maintenance awesome crew Randy and Chris on a late almost 11 came and fixed a.c. and were at room inside 5 mins of call to front desk. The bar. Tina Renee and Kara Rock stars. All about the customers. Ty for a great weekend. And lastly Tiffany one of the chefs she worked the omelets at the FREE breakfast buffet she is awesome caring and fast. Management u have some real super stars on your crew Now on to the bad. Internet is the worse. And range is not big. And VERY slow Elevators are slow If u could fix those 2 issues u would be a six plus. I can not give half stars. U deserve a 4.5 great facility great views great staff We will be back

This room was fully equipped with a kitchen and frontal view of the beach. Full hot breakfast everyday. Happy hour for a full hour from 4:30 to 5:30 at the hotel restaurant. They have a large pool which is checked everyday. Thank you for a GREAT STAY!

Don't go by the picture of the hotel as I think they used the pretty filter. The rooms are small the bathroom is a joke. The breakfast was great. The beach was fantastic. The staff are very friendly and helpful

from the staff, to the appearance, to the price, the tiki bar which we really enjoyed, breakfast in the morning was incredible with the selections. this is OUR only Best western in Daytona Beach, Fl, there are others, but this one is perfect for our leisure time and R & R, Repeat Guest Again and Again. This is a wonderful place to stay. Very family friendly. The staff is excellent, even dealing with all the rude GUESTS. Please be nice to the staff!! The food and drinks are great. Very clean facility. Pools are awesome!

Staff are friendly and helpful. Our room had a great view, clean and very roomy, included refrigerator, stove, sink and counter. Amenities include restaurant, pool, tiki bar, fitness room, athletic options.

Went to this hotel 20+ years ago when I was younger with my Aunt and Uncle. They still after all these years stay for 2 weeks a year. I started going back every year 4 years ago. Employees are amazing, room is always clean, well stocked with towels and soaps, breakfast is amazing with lots of options and then on top of all the other great things....they have a happy hour where you get free alcoholic beverages. Cant beat that right?!?!

Me and my sister needed a short vacation to recharge our batteries from the hustle and bustle of life. So we did and all I have to say is that this is a beautiful place that lives up to the pictures that they have posted up. We were fortunate to have the fifth floor, which is designated for smokers and we are non-smokers, but the view of the ocean was amazing before the storm that weekend and the morning sunrise. I really enjoyed the friendliness of everyone from front desk to the housekeepers who are amazing and even the other guests were awesomes especially this one guest who came from the happy hour that they have encouraging us to go there. It was a very welcoming experience and one I will be returning to in the future.

I can't say enough about the Aku Tiki. This was our first trip to Daytona in about 10 years of vacationing on the Gulf side. We were in town for 5 days for a gaming convention that my son was interested in. Our room was an oceanfront double queen, and it was appointed very nicely. We flew in from Atlanta (to Orlando) and drove to Daytona, getting there far too early. The manager allowed us to check in early and provided us with a cot for an extra guest we hadn't originally planned for. The free breakfast is quite impressive, and the cocktail hour was a nice bonus. The grounds are immaculate (I watched constant cleaning and quality control from our balcony - the staff is great). We will definitely return to Daytona, and we'll always stay at the Aku Tiki.

We hadn't been in Daytona Beach for about 8 years so on this trip we decided to stay 4 nights. We were so glad we did. We had room 303 which was a king ocean front. The room was well maintained and we had to laugh as the bathroom was small and we compared it to the bathroom on a cruise ship. Wi Fi was very good. The pool is huge. Water temp was great. THere was always a place to sit as this hotel provided plenty of lounge chairs. There were tables with umbrellas too. There is a tiki bar by the pools for drinks and food. Food was very good. There is also a restaurant onsite and we had dinner 1 night which was good. The breakfast has to be the best we have ever had. It was held in the restaurant. Plenty of hot food. Eggs. corned beef hash, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes and waffles. I loved their doughnuts. The staff at this hotel were so friendly. I believe the hotel was pretty well filled but there was never any issues with finding a table for breakfast. There is also a happy hour with free drinks. Again never got full. Our only minor complaint was our room could of used a dusting and the TV was smeared and never was clean. Sometimes we did not get enough of towels. But overall we loved the place and hope to go back . They deserve a rating of 5.

Booking a hotel at a beach is always very difficult. You read reviews and hope for the best. Best Western Aku Tiki certainly met all of our expectations. Guests enjoy a FREE breakfast each morning and I am not talking about just cereal, bagels and fruit. There is a whole buffet of breads, muffins, cinnamon rolls, eggs (Sundays include a made to order omelet bar), and each day it changes between sausage/bacon, homefries, hash, sausage gravy and biscuits, grits and oatmeal. Also, always available are self-serve pancakes and waffles. There was never a need to eat out for breakfast. We had also eaten lunch and dinner once at the hotel. Food was also very good with a wide menu selection. Pool: This was great. Very big, never battling for a seat, plenty of tables/umbrellas where guests can bring coolers. Guests can also bring their own rafts/noodles for relaxation and there was a 2nd little pool for kids. Tiki Bar: Jeannie the bartender was amazing. We dont drink alcohol and she never hesitated to make us a frozen blend. She was on her game and very talkative to keep us entertained. Smoking is allowed outside of the pool deck. Room: Cleaned very good each day and if we needed extra towels, there was no hesitation. We had a kitchenette room, which I may say was the only semi disappointment. Full fridge, nice small electric stove, but not much counter space or a table for sitting and eating at. They offer late checkouts, but only until noon, which we took advantage of. Parking: Never had to fight for a space. One was always available. Beach: Very accessible from the hotel. It sits right in the back with a few short steps. There seems to be a little TLC that could be done with the interior walls/doors, but nothing that would discourage me from staying here again.

This place is a dump!!! Check dates on pictures! We checked in then checked out! Place was dirty had a smell and no was not because of the proximity to beach! The smell was like a public restroom smell! Last straw was sitting on bed watching bugs crawl down the wall!!! Best western I expected better from you!!! I am not sure how they have rated this place what its rating is but one star is toooo much!!!

Another great stay. Best staff on the beach. And as A bonus Benson the Tiki bar bartender is back. Was there 15 days great food and service in trader's restaurant. Clean large nice pool. And great views of the beach.

Very nice motel, everything was wonderful. Staff was helpful and provided information on local activities. Parking was a little tight but acceptable. View of the beach, ocean, and pool was remarkable.

We really enjoyed staying here. The rooms could use some updating but it was great for the price. We also loved the on site restaurant. The free breakfast buffet each morning was amazing. We really liked the pool and all the extra activities they offered.

We usually really enjoy our stays at Best Western hotels but this hotel was a disappointment. Not sure why the reviews are so high. We booked directly through the hotel and it was expensive, with a small AARP discount, for such a dingy place. The hallway rug to get to the room was old-looking and dirty, and there were sand puddles throughout. I realize this place is on the beach, but come on. One day there were kids' items strewn all over the floor when we walked down there. We took the stairs to get to our room because the elevator (only one) was always packed, only to be greeted by a large cockroach on the stairs. The room was big but the bed skirt on the bed was a wrinkly mess, the fabric under the curtains was full of stains, the (very old) toilet flushed loudly (we could hear our neighbor's also) yet you had to flush twice, the sink area was small. There was no good place to hang towels since the towel hanger on the door was not there, just two gaping holes (I assume someone stole it) so we hung the towels on the shower curtain holder. We paid for an ocean view room but weren't able to enjoy it. There was constant noise on the beach from the huge trucks parading by with their bad music blaring at all hours. We found out too late it was Truck Weekend during the exact time that we stayed. No one at Best Western mentioned it when I made the reservation, or that the beach would be full of trucks. If I had known I wouldn't have booked the room there. I was not happy that we paid for an oceanfront hotel room and had to get into our car and drive north to Ormond Beach to get away from the boom boom of the monster trucks, just to get to a quieter beach. But the beach was at least nice there. On the way back to the BW we were stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic. This was supposed to be a romantic getaway for our anniversary, but it turned out to be anything but.

Friends from out of town were staying there on Memorial Day, we met them for poolside drinks then dinner. The hotel was very clean and the pool area was great. We stayed their free cocktail hour then set down for dinner. I had the ribs and they were great. Be careful - I paid by credit card, the waitress took my card and went to process the bill. No big deal right. Well, several days later I got a call from my CC company stating potential fraud. Turns out over 1000.00 in fraudulent charges to online retailers. They were all reversed of course but I was inconvenienced, had to update all of the auto pays. I called the general manager and he was very apologetic. I explained that the card had not been given to someone to run a charge in months. He then asked if I had purchased gas I said you but felt uncomfortable. I understood why he asked that but a better question would have been when was the last time you purchased gas. In my case, it was two weeks before. The point is this scam does happen. The hotels should have better security for this issue

Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful!! The free breakfast was delicious everyday with great choices. So much better than your traditional “continental” breakfast of cold cereal!!! Pool was nice and open late! The free happy hour was tremendous!!! We will be back!!

This hotel was clean and fresh. The Staff and Employees exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The view from my Oceanfront room was spectacular the room very clean. I found all the amenities offered to be very good including the rest. Thank-You Robin for listening to my concerns and addressing them Your the BEST !!

This hotel has Competent, Friendly staff and Good amenities. Almost every room has a good view of the beach/ocean. The complimentary breakfast had quite a variety that included scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, sausages, danish, bagels, fruit juice drinks, coffee, tea, and more.

We stayed at the Best Western around the 1st of May. It was wonderful. The staff was so helpful. It almost felt like we were on a cruise. It was conveniently located we could go to the pool or on the beach. The breakfast was one of the best we have while traveling. We decided to stay an extra day and they had to move us but they made sure we were on the same floor with the same view. Like I said my husband and I were so relaxed we loved it. We would highly recommend it to anyone going to Daytona.

We visited our favorite DBS hotel again in May 2018. We love the new floor tile around the hotel, the new carpet, curtains, chairs and bedding in room 103 and the carpet, tile and seating in Trader's restaurant. They've added even more chaise lounges and tables with umbrellas overlooking the ocean since last season. We love the tiki accents in the halls, lobby, restaurant and of course the huge tiki head out front. They add to the exotic island theme that's reinforced by the beautiful lush plants on the grounds. The staff are the best. Friendly, helpful, smiling all the time, always willing to help. Plenty of free parking on both sides of the hotel which is conveniently located between International and Dunlawton. There are power open doors to the left of the lobby and at the ramp out to the pool by room 101 for wheelchair access if needed. There is a ramp down to the pool on the south side of the pool for wheelchair access to the pool area. The bubbles blowing in the ocean breeze over the pool area when the Tiki bar is open are a festive touch. We usually stay around ten days and are always sad when our stay is over. The included breakfast and happy hour are wonderful perks and makes a stay there an even better deal. DW loved the new pillows, I needed a flatter one and our housekeeper was happy to get me one from storage, in a hygienic bag. There is Trader's restaurant with full bar on site, a 7-11 across the street, an iHop about a half block away, a post office, grocery and liquor store about a block away. The only negative for us is the amount of cigar/cigarette smoke in the air when you are enjoying the beautiful ocean/beach views on your patio or one of the outdoor tables. We hope to return year after year as long as we can travel. The Best Western Aku Tiki Inn is our home away from home in the DB area... our slice of paradise on earth.

Decided to travel to Daytona Beach after 10 yrs away ( cruising the high seas) was very happy to find this location after reading reviews . AKU TIKI INN is the place to stay . Large heated pool , great views , a restaurant with great food and a even better staff. Managers HAPPY HOUR - 430-530 free drinks from listed menu .large spacious rooms . plan on returning before years end

Better than a cruise ship, outstanding breakfast and dinner.We could not have asked for a better place to stay.Every thing about this place was first class. We have stay at many BW hotels all across the country, this one beats everyone by miles

We stayed here for a full week. The price was great and included a great breakfast every morning. They have so many different selections of breakfast to choose from for all ages. The staff was great and very helpful. Had a problem with the tub and within minutes of reporting it, they fixed it. Enjoyed the conversations with both the staff and guests. Had a kitchenette in my room and it was nice and roomy. The balcony view was beautiful too. Also they have a happy hour for the guests. They believe in a family atmosphere and keep rowdy guests away. I can't wait to visit them again. Next time staying longer.

Decent location on beach, but remember cars can drive so it is not ideal with small kids. They had a shower and hose to wash sand off which was great. 2 decent pools, 1 for little kids with lots of chairs. I really appreciated that they had pool toys for kids provided by hotel, very cool. The free breakfast was easy and had enough variety. The biggest issue was the people smoking everywhere. On balcony, pool side, beach, everywhere. Sorry i just cant enjoy the beautiful breeze when it smells of cigarettes. We complained when we first got here about our neighbor smoking and they had them ztop, but were back at it again in no time. When i later looked up at hotel, many people smoking on balcony so Indont think management really cares. We had a fine time but wont be back.

This hotel was absolutely amazing!!! The breakfast had a wide variety of options. The gym was super nice. We had a balcony with a view of the ocean. They give you free drinks at the bar between 4:30-5:30. The staff was super nice. The rooms are located on the inside of the building. Greatest hotel in Daytona. I refuse to stay anywhere else if I go back to Daytona. The rooms are very spacious and theres alot of entertainment around the hotel.

Great place, happy hour, tiki bar, huge pool, great onsite restaurant. Cookies in lobby! Room slept great. Right on the beach with tons of seating by pool and beach. Very friendly staff and great vibe.

I've stayed in a lot of hotels in Daytona Beach area (from there). This was first time I stayed at the Best Western Aku Tiki Inn and was pleasantly surprised! It has to be one of best hotels on Daytona Beach! Great food, service, comfy bed, rooms with views, heated outdoor pool. Hotel is very clean. If you are looking for all these great amenities and great food, look no further! I would recommend this hotel the others.

Excellent staff, good location, hotel is very good all around, hope to return in the fall. excellent vacation hotel. We come as a group up to 110 people, all our needs are met. Like to visit two times a year.

We found this hotel a few months before spring break after searching around and booked it on the best western website. It had good reviews and everything was booking up for our dates so we went ahead and reserved it. The staff at the desk were very friendly and even offered a pack n play or crib for my daughter if we needed it. There was only 1 elevator, so we ended up taking the stairs most of the time to the 3rd floor. The rooms were very dated, the carpet looks like it is the original carpet and could definitely use an update. Our room came with a kitchenette where not all of the burners on the stove worked, but they did stock our room with pots, cups, bowls, plates, silverware and a frying pan. The room was spacious and the balcony was nice. Our room had a huge dehumidifier that filled up twice a day. The maid service was pretty slow and didn't really do much cleaning. The big plus for this hotel was the pool and being able to walk right out to the beach. There is a kid pool but no hot tub. Free breakfast was included and was nice. Didn't realize that cars were allowed to drive up and down the beach which we are not used to and were not too fond of. Overall the hotel was ok, but I don't think I would go out of my way to stay here again.

We reserved our hotel directly from best western. We carefully read reviews from every hotel on the beach and things were booking quickly for spring break. So after reading there reviews we decided this one was goo for the price per night. We arrived a little earlier than check in. We got there around 1:00pm. Check in isn't until 3pm but they allowed me to check in as soon as I arrived. Staff was very friendly and I was thankful for a quick and easy check in. We got to our room on the only elevator in the whole hotel. The room was clean, but you can tell the hotel is dated. No complaints from us as far as the hotel goes. The whole city on the beach is very dated in my opinion. The beach was great. Easy access to the beach and pool. Fresh pool towels provided daily near the lobby exit to the pool. No hot tub unless you get a room with one. Free hot breakfast daily. That is a huge plus for us as we have 5 people in our family and eating out becomes quite costly. Breakfast time was a bit crowded but it was understandable due to it being spring break. If I were to visit Daytona again, I might look for another place to stay but if it came down to spending double what I paid here, I'd stay here again. ive stayed at several places so it's hard to compare this to another hotel that would be in a better city. There is a kid pool. Our neighbors were rowdy and we couldn't hear them at all unless we were in the hallway.

We visited here in March with our high school daughter and her friend and had a very pleasant stay. I was not very familiar with the area or the hotels, so I selected this one based on the reviews and the pictures of the pool area. The Daytona Beach Shores area where this is located, seems to be a little nicer than the Daytona Beach section. It is an older hotel like most in the area, but it is evident that they do a lot of maintenance and cleaning as we saw many workers throughout the day attending to cleaning and maintenance. The room itself was nice with new mattresses that were very comfortable. The bathrooms are somewhat dated but clean. The pool area was very good size with plenty of chairs and a large pool. In addition, there were plenty of other chairs on the grass overlooking the beach. The free breakfast and free happy hour were a very nice feature. I would definitely consider staying here on my next visit to Daytona.

We had an excellent experience at this hotel. As a family of 4, we arrived just in time for the free drinks happy hour, the vibe at the pool and grounds are fun, the breakfast was delicious. Our kids LOVED the pancake machine and waffles. The view from the room was breathtaking. I highly recommend this resort as a great value for the money, great location, beautiful view, accommodating staff, safe area, and fun atmosphere. Our kids made full use of the shuffleboard, ping pong, and pool. I used the fitness center for a circuit with the weight machines and treadmill. The free drinks put me in a great mood and the kids loved the soda punch served during happy hour, as well. There's a 7-eleven across the street for anything you may need, as well!

We had 3 rooms on the first floor for Bike Week in March. The staff was very accommodating - from reserved motorcycle parking to saving a cookie for our sweet toothed buddy. The complementary breakfast is very good - and the selections are resupplied quickly when they run out. The pool is well maintained - not heated but still very comfortable for laps in early March. Happy hour every day is a great deal - and the food in the bar is truly a step above average bar food. The fish tacos were particularly good - well prepared with generous portions. The only downside is the facility is showing its age. We had the bathroom sink back up on the last day and they could not get it unclogged. They gave us another room to use for the last night. A nice touch but still inconvenient. The beach access is perfect - a set of stairs and you are on the sand. The cars drive by so you can feel the spectacle of Daytona Beach. The group likes this hotel so much we are reserving it for Bike Week again next year.

Hotel is older but remodeled nicely. Comfy beds. Small bathroom. great view and staff was super nice bar and pool were great , good breakfast over all we would stay there again. Easy access to the rooms rather than a super large hotel..

Great location. Friendly staff. Rooms are fairly basic and a little dated, but it was clean(very important). Best hotel breakfast with the most options I've seen in a long time. Only there for one night. Didn't get a chance to use the pool.

This hotel is over 2 miles from the main pier where all the restaurants and shops are at. Some of the reviews I read caused me to think it was within walking distance, but it's pretty far away. There is a grocery store just across the road so that was nice. We were in room 309 and the bathroom could use a deep cleaning, there was some mold below faucet in tub. And along the floor by the tub. Our balcony faced the parking lot, yes, there was an ocean view, but not what I expected from room description. Lots of high school and college age spring breakers staying in the hotel and partying. The hotel may want to change their min age limit back to 21 to rent a room. Very noisy and even saw a guy peeing off a balcony down to parking lot. Don't think we would stay here again. Free breakfast was nice, the happy hour is crazy. They allow people to drink as much as they can in an hour. I would do this differently, I would give each guest 2 free drink tickets each. Saw some of the college aged ones chugging drinks and getting back in line for more. Some that I saw drank 4 or 5 drinks in that 1 hour.

I love this motel the breakfast is great. Nice views well kept. Will defiantly stay there again. Very clean rooms I love the balcony. Nice touch I love that all the balconies are on a angle for good views.

Place was nice had great view from the room on 4th floor, restaurant outside hotel had the best boneless chicken wings, market and shops all in walking distance, outside tiki bar, and things for the kids...basketball ping pong and others, good size pool plus a smaller one for the younger kids, hotel staff was very friendly would definitely visit again

Stayed here race weekend and it was really a nice place. A little dated but aside from that it was very clean and the staff could not have been any nicer. The restaurant there is good to catch a quick meal and the free breakfast was adequate. Stayed here 35 yrs ago and found out the same owners own it so they are doing something right!!

My dad has been visiting DAB for the Daytona 500 for 27 years now and I have been going for 6 years. We always stay at the Aku Tiki and absolutely LOVE it! The staff is amazing, so attentive and friendly. We always get a pool/ocean view room on the 4th or 5th floor. It's right on the beach, so you can see everything.You have to experience a Daytona sunrise, it will take your breath away! The breakfast is wonderful, I love the addition of the omelette bar on the weekends. The Happy Hour is a nice touch, we usually hit that every year, but this year we weren't able to make it back by 4:30. We didn't mind though. Even though we're only there once per year, we feel like locals coming "home". :) Thank you Aku Tiki for another amazing Daytona trip. We're looking forward to seeing everyone again for the race next year. Keep up the great work!!!

Reasonably priced. Very clean, but very dated. Not a big deal for me at all that it is dated. The staff here, and I am talking about EVERY SINGLE PERSON is very friendly and they absolutely go out of their way to make sure you are pleased to be here. Best breakfast ever. Not a Marriott breakfast, but rather a full service breakfast in an actual restaurant, not a lobby. Pancakes. French Toast. Omelettes on weekends made to order. Fruit. Yogurt. Junk food (muffins/rolls) Oatmeal. Grits. Two meat choices. Eggs. Just superb. Never run out of food either. The one hour happy hour from 430 to 530 daily is nice, but stick to beer. I understand the drinks are free, so you can't expect quality. The wine can only be described as vinegar, and the liquor is the cheapest low quality stuff available. Again, you can't complain as the drinks are free so stick to beer and you won't go wrong. Wait staff again is simply top notch. Not their fault they have to serve low quality booze. Great location on beach, large private grassy area to lounge on, as well as a huge pool and pool area. The ONE THING I take issue with is the use of plastic dishes and utensils at breakfast, as these are trashed and not recycled. I guess recycling is not a thing in Florida. It just makes me sick that all this plastic is used and thrown into the trash and then piled up in a landfill. Would it be so difficult to use metal utensils and real plates, and hire a dishwasher? It would save the cost of constantly buying plastic, which would basically level out the cost of a dishwasher. This hotel does host alot of "blues" (old people) who I noticed don't leave a tip on the table at breakfast. C'mon, people. If you stay here leave a few bucks on the table for the folks who work their tails off for you! Great stay, and I look forward to visiting again.

Very friendly staff. Spacious room had king size bed with ocean view. Clean. A little dated. Parts of the hotel are undergoing renovations. Great inclusive breakfast offerings which changed daily, including omelets made to order on weekends. 4:30-5:30 free happy hour, but I didn't use it so I can't address the selections available. Pool. Pavillion with tables for casual dining. Lounge chairs. Direct beach access. Great location.

Nice hotel on the beach. Good breakfast hot items. Added touch of complementary drink in bar. The only problem are rooms next to the lift, we had one of these rooms and the lift is very noisy can hear it all night.

If you are looking for a quiet hotel right on Daytona Beach this is it! You can get pool view, ocean view with efficiency rooms. They have free Happy Hour along with free breakfast. There is a restaurant on sight but there is also a grocery store down the street a block. The people working there are great and so helpful! Our tour group really enjoyed being taken care of by Rose! Only suggestion stay away from race week and bike week they will be full!

Read reviews of many hotels in the area and this one stood out. Rates were very reasonable. Room was clean, roomy and beds were very comfortable. Front desk was pleasant and got us checked in and out quickly. Would definitely stay here again next time in the area.

The hotel is located close to the beach. It the neighbourhood there are manly hotels. The staff at the frontdesk is very friendly. The rooms are celan and comfy, however it can be noisy if your naighbours are talking loud then it will feels like if they are in your room. Maybe the walls are too thin? There is also a pool and a restaurant. Breakfast is included in the room rate, but if you are on gluten-free diet then only on the weekends you will find something for breakfast (there is an omlette station). During normal days they only serve variety of regular breads and muesli which all contain gluten. There is an information on the buffet that you can ask the staff for spcial bread if you have gluten or lactose allergy, so i did.. but they said that they don't have anything for me. I was very disappointed.. and hungry!

My wife and I usually stay at a different hotel for our anniversary but this year we decided to stay some place else, we had been past the Aku Tiki Inn many times and we should try the Aku Tiki Inn. Best choice we made the staff, bar, resturant, pool, our room ocean front were awesome we will definitely be back next year and many years to come.

Great location on the beach with ample parking although it would benefit from more lighting. Check in was easy and we were upgraded to a very nice ocean view room which was very spacious. We had a nice dinner in the bar/restaurant then went back to the room to relax before starting our long drive north the next morning. Breakfast was nice with a good selection. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Pool looked very nice too and lots of seats to look out to the ocean.

This is a very basic hotel but is always very clean. Happy hour is a nice plus. Staff is friendly. We have stayed here twice. Unsure about the pool as we are in Daytona in January. We go for the 24 hours of Daytona. It is very convenient and right on the beach.

This is a Very good hotel. Certainly not new, but rooms are updated, clean and it IS on the beach! Staff is So very nice. They have a Happy Hour every night & the free breakfast is better than most Best Westerns! Looking forward to visiting here again. Definitely recommend staying here!!

Really enjoyed the atmosphere! Upon check in we were greeted with hello's and smiles. We were placed on the 2nd floor, amazing ocean view and new interior. Went to the bar /restaurant and enjoyed the company! Huge coy in the bridge to the bar... amazing! Pool was clean, a lot of kids having a great time, even with the 50 degree weather. I would stay again! Love best westerns new look. They have made great changes! And yes full hot breakfast that was yummy...

Black Mold in bathroom. Dehumidifier plugged up in room. reported this to front desk. When maid came she sprayed tilex and laid a rag behind commode. Bathroom smelled really bad. I have stayed there past three years but do not plan to go back there next year.

This hotel is the best choice. I love almost everything here, the location, the restaurant inside, the sea view room and the beach with steps distance. The staff in a white shirt was very nice and friendly.
