« Good hotel for 1 night pre or post cruise »

Hotel is nicely kept, quiet rooms with friendly staff with a good free breakfast including hot and cold choices. Close to Airport (free shuttle bus included) and not far from Cruise Port ( do offer shuttle bus to cruise terminal for $12.00 PP) we used Uber for $13.00 total. We used the night before cruise after coming in from a flight.

    « Extremely disappointed »

The place is a dump. It's not close to anything. It's a very very tired place. Had it not been for the above average staff trying to make a below average hotel bareable we would not have stayed the night

« Was ripped off for the iron board that was broken when we got there, and actually notified them to fix it. »

So, the hotel itself was okay, I have been to other Best Western Plus hotels that are much cleaner. The bathroom could use a good cleaning. The iron board in our room was broken, and we couldn't use it, so we notified them and told them to fix it for next guests. Now, they have charged us for it, and when we talked to them, they didn't accept the fact that it was broken already when we got there, and if we were the ones breaking it, letting them know about it wouldn't be the smartest move.

« Good Hotel, Limited Shuttle Hours »

We stayed here post cruise while waiting for a flight the next morning. Staff was friendly and early check in was not an option as they were full the night before. They gave us a number and stored our luggage. There is a shopping center withing walking distance and had a K-Mart (not super). This is an older property and could use a good cleaning. Carpet was dirty and quickly turned your feet black. Room had a musty smell to it. There was very little lighting in the room. There was no lighting by the sofa and you could only see the TV when sitting on the bed. We were disappointed to find out that their shuttle does not run until 6 am and because we had an early flight, we had to pay for a shuttle. The hotel did make arrangements.

    « Pre-cruise »

Stayed here the night before our cruise. Good rates, rooms are clean and large. Hotel is kept Very clean, staff is great. Buffet breakfast on paper plates, plastic utensils, food cold. Besides breakfast set up, I would recommend this hotel and would return for a one night stay.

    « nice hotel »

we asked for and got high rooms at the rear of the hotel check in staff were very good. parking was ok .the room was nice and clean and i had a nice view out of the window bathroom was also clean,be warned the hotel does get busy at week ends due to cruise liner passengers and the breakfast area does get crowded but could still sit to eat it. good choise of food only hotel on trip to serve crispy bacon.

    3
    « Quick Pic »

It's good for one night. Rooms could go for a paint job. Pool look good. On my stay there were a lot of children running through the halls. Nothing around to get something to eat unless you like fast food

« Super location and staff! »

Check in staff very pleasant and large rooms in great location. Just off highway but very little noise. We were upgraded to a small suite with full refrig., stove top and microwave. Cruise ships going out, so hotel got busy, especially for breakfast. They had a hard time keeping up with the demand. But everyone stayed pleasant and tried to satisfy everyone as best as possible.

    2
« Do they clean the rooms? »

Perfect for a night as it´s right on I95. Everything was okey but a bag of leftovers from previous guests in the fridge totally changed that impression. Having the AC just next to the bed is not a good idea...

    « Bahamas »

Hotel was a good value when it was new. However, it is in need of renovation. Staff have a cavalier attitude towards guest. Based on my last experience, I have decided that I can spend my money to obtain better value.

« A quiet, restful hotel with competent staff »

I had a very pleasant stay at the 1900 Stirling Road Best Western. The staff was very accommodating and went out of their way to provide me with things that I needed. It was a very enjoyable, quiet stay. They helped me find the nearest PO,. They assisted me in using the Business Office. All and all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

    4
« No Wake up Call »

The shuttle bus took forever to get there. The staff was very nice, the room was nice and the staff recommended a great place to order in for dinner. They told us they would give us a grab and go because our flight was early and the breakfast area would not be open. We asked for a very early wake-up. We never got the call. There were no grab and go breakfast.

    « avoid »

avoid this hotel it is truly a last resort.....lobby was noisy large number of people congregating drinkind loud behavior room smelled...not welcoming or attractive to anyone registeringbreakfast didnt start til 7am..mst breakfasts 6 to 10

    « Casino Trip »

This hotel is conveniently located at I-95 and Stirling Road which places the Hard Rock Casino about 4 miles due west of its location. The hotel lobby and grounds were clean and well lighted which made us feel safe as we arrived after dark. The hotel desk clerk was friendly and got us checked in quickly. Our room had a King size bed and was very comfortable. The carpet in the room is showing its age and there were plenty of scuff marks on the walls from luggage. The bathroom was adequate, but like the room in need of a refresher. I booked this room on the net for $129 plus taxes which I felt was a little expensive considering the overall dated look and feel to the room.

    5
    « Excellent Property »

Very comfortable property. Short distance from Interstate 95. Staff were professional, helpful, courteous and personable. Nice pool. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Water jet pool and deck really nice. Partnership with shuttle company to and from Port Everglades for cruise along with onsite extended parking, were also important in my selection of this property. Extended parking fee was reasonable and not having to drive to a parking site was a big plus. Hotel's airport shuttle was convenient for family and friends pre and post cruise. This will be my place to stay in future visits.

    4
    « Close to airport »

Nice accommodations. Room looked renovated. Bathroom is a good size. Free parking. I couldn't connect to wifi all night. Rug needs to be replaced. It was worn out and had no cushion. Gym was small but it had the basic necessities. Close to airport. Great shopping center across the street with plenty of food and shopping options. Overall, I would definitely stay there again.

    3
« Great Service, Average Hotel »

This hotel was pretty disappointing to me, as I expected better from a Best Western Plus. Our first room was quite dirty, but we were moved to another room that was MUCH better, no issues at all. The front desk was apologetic and very helpful. The breakfast was pretty poor. I don't know what they do to their eggs, but they were absolutely disgusting. The strangest texture and watery. Are they even real eggs? Everything else was average for a hotel breakfast. The hotel was pretty average in my opinion. At least the service is good!

    4
« Buisness Trip to FLL »

The hotel was everything I expected from Best Western. While not the most luxurious, it wasn't a dump. Room was clean and well appointed. Real impressed with the tub/shower. Breakfast was pretty good. Nice selection of hot and cold items.

    5
    « Great Value »

Location to airport, breakfast, awesome staff, clean rooms... and a good price. What more can you ask for? I cannot say enough good things about the staff. The maids were cleaning the rooms as soon as you left in the mornings. The front desk always had enough people to handle the crowds. The maintenance guy was quick to produce anything that we needed for our meeting and he also arranged the chairs for us while we went out for dinner. The breakfast girls made sure that not only did the food not run out but the area remained neat. Originally I would not have picked this hotel but it was the room block that the group I was with had picked for us. I didn't know what to expect but I have to say, it wasn't this. They did the "and then some" to exceed all my expectations.

    3
    « AVERAGE HOTEL »

The lighting surrounding the hotel is not good enough and parking and design of the driveway make parking difficult and congested. People were driving opposite the one way in front of the hotel rather than driving around the building. Almost had a head on collision as the other driver drove towards my car going the wrong way in front of the lobby at night. The room only had 1 small trash can in the bathroom leaving you with no where to put trash. There were some stains on the drapes in the room and overall, I was not happy with my stay. Staff were friendly

    « Very disappointed »

This stay was horrible. We won't be back. Our headache started at the airport we called for the shuttle and were informed it ran every thirty minutes. We waited nearly an hour in the sun before the shuttle showed. The hotel seemed very nice from the exterior as did the lobby. The room had issues and not what I expected from a Best Western Plus. There have been many half hearted and poor repairs done to the walls and shower area. The room appeared clean but really wasn't there were hand prints on the headboard and windows. Found hair on the soap dish in tub. Something spilled and sticky on the tv stand. The public areas were filthy as well. The breakfast area was disgusting. I went to get coffee and was shocked at how dirty it was. There was no cream availabile but after seeing how dirty the bins that held cream and sugar were I had lost my taste for it. I pulled out a chair to sit down and foun syrup spilled all over the chair. I have stayed in many Best Westerns and can say this was the worst.

    5
    « Hotel »

Awesome hotel inside and out. The rooms were very clean and the beds were pretty comfortable. The front desk staff were great and provided great service. The best part was the breakfast .It was not the cheap continental that I have previously experienced and would reccomend for large families.

    5
    « Great service »

As we got there early , they were very kind and helped us with earlier check in, the room was spacious and a pretty quiet , only disturbing thing was the bathroom door , whenever you try to close it there is no room left in special if you have a little fat on the belly , other than that , was great , clean , funny , fresh breakfast.

    3
    « Bridal Shower »

The hotel was nice, very relaxing ,very quiet, and very professional as far as the breakfast everything was fresh they were constantly bringing fresh things out the area was clean. The only two issues I had was our door had to be shifted too close and our keys to the room we had to get another set of keys because they both stopped working and then after that new set they stopped working as well.

« Short Stay @ the Best Western Airport South in Ft. Lauderdale, FL »

I was in Ft. Lauderdale for a Regional Conference and stayed at this hotel. Only problem was that the room carpets and mattress could use an update. Great value for the money; Super friendly, caring staff. I will definitely be back when in town.

    « Great Hotel »

Great Hotel, the Staff is very friendly and helpful. Congratulations to them and the Management it was a pleasure our stay in the Hotel. Everything about this hotel was excellent--location, cleanliness, helpful staff. I would definitely return, and will

« Great deal for price »

I booked on Hotwire and got a great deal. Room was very spacious and clean. Had a funny scent when checked in but that was corrected. Overall a nice hotel. I would definitely return to this hotel again.

    5
    « Great Location »

First time at this Best Western and just perfect So easy to find as it's just of I-95 but rooms ultra quiet. Very helpful staff and great hot breakfast. Wonderful comfortable beds and excellent Wi-fi connection.

    5
    « Good Location »

Shopping and restaurants close by; very clean property, well taken care of; van service was good going to airport, but had to wait a while to be picked up at airport. Within walking distance of Dania Beach; easy on/off I-95 and close to airport. Busy highway in front of hotel but could easily be crossed by using the crosswalks.

    « I'm coming back! »

This hotel was great for a precruise stay. I drove down to Ft. Lauderdale a day early to stay here and venture about the area. I stayed in a suite on the top floor, and it was amazing. Very roomy, very clean, and had a great view. I definitely recommend this place.

  • 2
    « Disgusting »

This place was disgusting. We booked a non-smoking king bed. When I walked in the room it smelled absolutely terrible. It was disgusting. I asked to change rooms and they said all they have is smoking rooms which is not an option for me. So we stayed in the smell room. The bathroom was gross. There was air on the floor everything was worn out and dirty. The little ottoman was broken, missing a leg. The cleaning staff did not come clean our room. At least the bed was comfortable. We will not be returning.

    4
« Good hotel for business trip »

Clean and comfortable hotel that is close to the highway, restaurants, CVS, supermarkets, etc. Breakfast is simple but satisfying. Entrance to the hotel does not have clear signage so you could miss the entrance (which is the first right that you can make on Stirling, just west of I-95. Signage could be better.

« End of summer vacation »

First off I should give credit to those who have previously reviewed this hotel. Their reviews were correct; therefore I should not be surprised by my own disappointments or pleasantries. I'll explain. My trip was a fairly short notice trip to retrieve my vacationing teenager who has never traveled alone and required me to go to her in order to travel home with her. I arrived much earlier than the 3pm check in time and was pleasantly greeted by a friendly staff whom were all to glad to inform me that they had a room waiting for me. The check in process was quick, efficient and painless. The lobby was clean and inviting although it didn't take long to see the worn rugs that previous reviewers mentioned. The room was painfully true to its previous review. The smell of mildew and stale carpets was almost too much to bare. If I wasn't motivated by my daughter's need for a traveling companion I would have stayed in another hotel. As an asthmatic and allergy sufferer I was in agony. The decorations were nice and clean once you got past the smell. Room service was attentive with towels and any necessities. The hotel is conveniently located near restaurants, shops and only a few miles away from two or three beaches. The complimentary full breakfast was decent and saved on eating expenses. The staff assured me that the hotel is in process of getting new carpeting. I would stay there again in a pinch but if the carpets are not changed I would have to stay elsewhere when advanced planning is available

    « Excellent Experience »

Love Best Western From Florida to NC. The y are the best hotel outfit I have used in a long time. They are kind, clean, and through. Please take my advice and use best western what else can I say they are called Best Western cause they are the BEST

« Great Overnight Before Cruising »

Arrived at Fort Lauderdale Airport at 2pm, called Best Western for shuttle ride and was checked in by 3pm, also made arrangements at check in for shuttle ride to cruise port and upon return from cruise port to airport ($12 per person each way), walked 5 minutes to the local shopping center - 5 fast food places - 4 national department stores - countless local stores - Room was comfortable and cozy - hot breakfast was very good and satisfying - easy check out and timely shuttle ride to cruise port, we will definitely stay here again.

    « Ok Hotel... »

Stayed here for a day from morning to catch evening flight. They have complimentry breakfast, free airport shuttle and wifi. They also gave us toiletries as our bag was in transit. The room had a musty odor, could not open windows to get rid of the odor. Shower walls had black something on it. The room carpet is seriously worn out and needs to be replaced. Satisfactory location, good breakfast and good airport shuttle. I would give it 3.6 stars.

    « Stay »

Rooms for this hotel are horrible carpet are very dirty spots of stain are visible, door was impossible to close need help from maintenance, bathroom also with problem of cloggy, this was the room that I received, asking for change and the second was not so good either. Need to change the name from "Plus" to Minus.

« Business Trip to FLL »

Nice, well appointed, clean rooms. Pleasant staff, both at check-in and check-out. Decent breakfast. Typical for Best Westerns... Business office could have used more attention. Printers didn't work, and staff didn't know what to do. Certainly worth the rates they are charging.

« Overnight stay for flight out of Fort Lauderale Airport »

Spent the nite at this hotel overnite on our way to Barbados. Good location, friendly staff,, but a little disappointed that it did not live up to other Best Western Plus we have stayed in. We arrived at 4 pm....check in time was 3 p.m....room was not ready and had to wait half hour. Bed was comfortable, but carpet was stained and mirror in bathroom had worn frame around it. Gave it a 4 because I like BW Plus hotels. Could use some sprucing up!

    2
    « room cleanliness lacking »

Room walls not cleaned. Carpet filthy and needed to be steam cleaned more often! Staff was good but ownership needs to handle room cleanliness problem. Common areas were fine. Outside appearance was fine.

    « good choice »

we check in very late at 12am on Thursday 7/28/16 because our flight was cancelled and we got great service. Front desk went to check on our rooms to make sure they were legit and we checked in to a lovely large room clean and no problems. free breakfast in the morning eggs sausage waffles etc. I would stay again. and free shuttle to fort Lauderdale airport

    « Filthy hot mess »

Arrived at 9pm. First room was connecting room so heard the loud party next door. Front desk staff were very polite and gave us another room. However nice they were did not make up for the dirty carpets and floors that we noticed in the public areas and hallways. Arrived in the second room. Disgusting. Stains on walls. Mold covering the wall in the tub. Not just a few spots mind you, it was covering the corners as well as the wall itself like no effort was even attempted to clean it. Bug was crawling in the tub. Blood stained sheets. There was a small stain on the wall that I suspect was blood also but cannot confirm that as I don't normally have to travel with my crime scene investigation kit. We grabbed our suitcases and informed the staff that we would be leaving. Btw, a great Hampton right close by. I must note that the only and I mean only bright spot here is the very polite front desk staff. No attitude, very humble and understanding. Seemed like they felt our pain! Lol.

    2
« So much they could do to improve »

I will start this review with what was right. The evening front desk clerk who checked me in was extremely gracious, as was the one who was there in the early morning when I left. The room had an initial ?wow? factor with a beautifully styled bed and spacioius feel. The rest of this review is less glowing, starting with trying to get to the hotel. The hotel is set back quite a bit from the road. To get to it you have to turn down a very narrow unmarked (or poorly marked) road. Not knowing where that road was, I had to make several U-turn passes, right at the foot of a very congested I-95 exit, before finding it. I actually went to another hotel nearby that I could find to get directions. The person who answered the phone when I called the hotel for help said guests frequently have trouble finding the hotel. There's a small lighted sign in the bushes not where the road is, but this doesn't help. Why doesn't the hotel have an appropriately-located sign? While my room was attractive at first glance, there were three problems: (1) the carpet was old and looked dirty. I did not want to walk barefoot on it. (2) the lighting was dim and inadequate. I wanted to read before going to sleep, but the low light strained my eyes to the point of discomfort (3) the remote control only worked if I stood right in front of the TV. I'm sure I could have gotten it replaced, but I was tired and didn't want to extend my evening further. A minor problem was that there were two shampoos and no cream rinse bottles in the bathroom. The worst thing of my entire experience happened in the morning. The hotel claims to have a 6 a.m. shuttle to the airport. The driver arrived at the front desk at 5:55 to get the keys from the clerk (who said the van is on the hotel property), then disappeared for almost 15 minutes. The clerk even called him to see what was going on. He arrived around 6:10. By the time he loaded passengers and luggage it was 6:13 before we pulled away. This last issue is simply unacceptable. It caused undue stress and worry for me, as I was taking an international flight and needed to leave no later than 6 a.m.. Guests shouldn't be told the hotel has a "6 a.m." flight, if this is only an approximation.

    3
« Just ok for a one night stay »

Not bad, not good, but probably will book another hotel if we ever have to stay in this area again. The smell in the room was awful and the carpet should be replaced. Once we couldn't get our door open with our keys and the house keeping lady opened it for us without any questions. So much for the safety.. They btw didn't have a safety box or a hair dryer in the room. The breakfast included was ok. Pool area very small. Ok for a one night stay but as said, I don't see us coming back.

    5
« Great place to stay »

Check in is at 3pm but I got in town at 10:30am and was able to be accommodated a lot earlier than expected. The hotel and room was immaculately clean, close to restaurants and shopping centers, and conveniently located close to the night life attractions. I would definitely stay here again.

    5
« Great Hotel for Post Cruise »

We went on 2 different cruises in Ft. Lauderdale and stayed here before the first cruise and in between the 2nd cruise....Rooms were nice, laundry room on 3rd floor was a boost in between cruises. We left our vehicle here during both cruises and it was $5.00 per day. There was a fee to catch the shuttle to and from the cruise port. The shuttle was on time and there was no problems getting to and from the cruise port....The breakfast area is small and we recommend getting there early to get a seat..

    3
« Adequate for an overnight stay »

This hotel is a busy airport hotel, and that being said, it has it's share of issues, but all in all it's a fine place for a one-night layover. I was traveling with a group of students and opted for this hotel for our overnight stay. The hotel lobby is bright and cheerful (we arrived at almost midnight). The staff at night was very kind and accommodating to our weary group! The rooms were adequate. There is definitely a need for some new carpet but you don't sleep on the floor, so I guess it's all relative. The bedding was comfy, the sheets were clean and crisp. The bathroom was fine - not too many amenities, but the necessary shampoo and soap was there. The breakfast (included) was ample and hot. Everyone could find something they liked. The breakfast staff is very nice and helpful, working their tails off for the very busy groups that were dining. All in all, there are no "perks" to this place, but a clean bed and a hot shower was all we needed. If you are looking for glitz and glam, you won't find it here...but you will find a kind staff!

    4
    « Nice hotel »

Stayed here for one night pit stop and picked a good choice. Staff was friendly; pool area was nice as the room was clean, big and quiet. Breakfast was very good with a large variety; eggs just were not the best. Close to many restaurants, Hard Rock and beach was so close. Would stay again!

    5
« Great Place to stay and close to the airport »

An excellent place to stay if you need to be near the Ft. Lauderdale airport. The driver got me to the airport in plenty of time for my flight. Great service and Staff was very helpful. Give them a try

    2
« Great Front Desk staff but DISGUSTING room »

The Front Desk staff at this hotel were awesome. Each person I came in contact with was very helpful and accommodating. Even Jorge, the guy that took us to the airport, was awesome! Calvin helped us find a rental car after our initial reservation fell through and helped us out with an early check-in! HOWEVER, the room at this hotel was FILTHY. When we arrived, I checked the sheets on the bed and they were stained. I removed them in preparation for housekeeping to come change the sheets and discovered that the mattress topper was stained with blood! What a DISGUSTING thing to find. I called the front desk to ask for housekeeping to come change the bed linen and it took them an hour to get there. The curtains in the room were stained. There was hair on toilet and on the floor in the bathroom. The stove in the room was nasty - covered with a greasy film around the eyes of the stove that indicated it had not been cleaned in a very long time. The drip pans on the stove were burnt and dirty. The electric coffee/tea maker was dirty on the inside as well. Lastly, the dishes in the cabinet were FILTHY. I removed a bowl from the cabinet that was stained with old, caked up food. How gross is that? The conditions of our room were awful - the worst I've ever experienced at a hotel. And the housekeeping staff were slow and lazy. The evening of our first day, we opened the sofa bed to discover that the covers on that bed were stained and nasty too. We left them in a pile in the corner for them to remove and requested more sheets and a top cover. The following day after housekeeping "cleaned" our room, they didn't put covers back on the sofa bed! Who does that?! I'm never staying at this hotel ever again and have plans to email all the management staff of the facility.

    « Bad experience »

I was issued a room in a quite area for day one, of a 4 night stay. Your desk staff moved unsupervised teenagers into a room next door. They were part of a church group, that returned to the property at around 10:30 PM on the first evening. They were extremely loud, and wrestling in the room, banging against the walls. We complained to the front desk, whom stated they would handle. Things did not quite down until after midnight. On night two, after complaining about the noise that the kids created, I found myself having to relocate to another room so that my wife and I could sleep. I feel your staff, should have forced an adult be present in rooms with teenagers for supervision (as was not the case). I'm also pretty sure, there are rules governing teenagers residing in your hotel, without adults being present to control such occurrences. I also feel that they should have been moved into a wing of their on. At one point, the desk clerk told me that they could not leave the desk, to go upstairs to speak with occupants, because there was no one else on duty to watch over the front desk area. They stated it would be 1 hr. (midnight) before they would be able to assist. Thus my wife and I, had to get dressed, obtain another key, for a room on the floor above, in order to sleep. When we woke the following morning, we returned to our original room. After speaking with the front desk, we were told they would be there another night. We were going to leave the hotel, but we had already paid in advance through a 3rd party, and I didn't want the hassle of trying to get a refund for unused portion of my stay. Thus we relocated to another room for the remainder of our stay. I realize that your hotel is located in a highly visited vacation area however, your Management and staff should be competently trained to handle such situations, I did not witness that at all. This has to be my worst hotel experience ever. .

« Not the Best Western »

I checked in after a long trip around 11 PM and requested a quiet room. What I received was a room within 100 yards of the busiest highways in FL I95. To say the least it was a sleepless night. Upon arrival we had ask if there a gift shop to get some supplies. The gift shop was nearly devoid of anything except beer and soda. The water pressure was low due to the leaking shower head. The room wasn't updated in a few years. The hallway carpets were worn and dirty. The hotel staff was indignant and not helpful and to top it all off the breakfast had either run out of food or it was cold. There wasn't a person in sight to help correct the problem The best was saved for last. Upon checkout I complained about the room being adjacent to I95 and the receptionist told me "she has slept in the those type rooms without noise issues. And I wear a hearing aid.

This hotel is not to bad not the best but not bad the room was clean. The bathroom was small pretty cramped up. We had a room right on top of 95 so it was a little noisy but ok. The free breakfast was fantastic they gave you plenty of choices. It's good for a overnight airport hotel but I wouldn't care to stay any longer.

    « Better than expected. »

WE drove a long way this day and got there to a super friendly staff who called a shuttle to take us to the seafood restaurant we wanted to go to. The restaurant called the shuttle to take us back. This was FREE. We did tip the driver; he deserved it. We have never been to this Best Western and this will be our stop next time we are headed to the Port of Miami to catch a cruise ship. I highly recommend this property. gave all survey questions a 10. I DO NOT give 10's easily! only con is the price, but we were in Ft, Lauderdale and near the Miami airport. That's life!

« Pre Cruise Hotel one night stay »

We stayed at this hotel before a cruise. They have airport pick up. There is a Cuban Restaurant across the highway from the hotel. It is quite nice. The hotel breakfast buffet had a large selection. I was disappointed, when I read the information when booking the hotel it said Transportation to Cruise Port. I assumed it was free transportation. NO IT IS NOT. But they use their hotel vans and the transport is very well organized. I would stay there again.

« good hotel but HORRIBLE breakfast »

Room was good for the price and hotel staff was very helpful, the breakfast was cold and eggs burned, after eating i had to run upstairs with a very upset stomach. DO NOT EAT THERE...... I tried to speak to the lady in the kitchen to ask for butter but she brushed me off.

« A good place for overnight stay »

We were very pleasantly surprised at the size and comfort of the room at this property. We arrived late from Europe and were exhausted, but the front desk people were so friendly and mad us so welcome, giving us a ground floor superior room. The bed was extremely comfortable, but the pillows a little too firm for our taste. We had a very early flight the next morning and the shuttle to the airport was a blessing. The only complaint I had was the long wait for the shuttle at the airport, as we thought they would run more frequently. Be sure and call the hotel when you arrive and request the shuttle, and they will be able to tell you when to expect it.

    « Very Good »

Very nice experience, professional and friendly front staff, the many immigrant workers not so much. but I couldn't fault anything other than that....the free breakfast and hotel shuttle was a plus...gym was small but adequate, wifi good, there was free parking with a fridge and microwave in room. I enjoyed the Best Western experience!

« Great Front Desk Service »

Customer Service was great however the rooms need to be renovated. The carpeting is worn out, needed vacuuming, room was very dusty. Even though air freshener was used the musty smell was awful on the first 2 rooms assigned on the 5th and 6th floors. At last the front desk clerk gave us a room which was acceptable on the 4th floor. Other than the rooms the breakfast was pretty good and got a good quiet night sleep.

    « Horrible Accomidation »

We booked our reservation and drove down to the location. They didn't have the room we requested available. The placed us in a down graded room waived 6000 Points for my Stay. The following night we were moved to a different location and about 2am while placing my phone on the charger I move the Night Stand and there were 2 Condom rappers and 1 used unsanitary condom. This is my 2nd Stay at a BW property in the past month in 2 different states with the same issue.

« great hotel, shuttle every hour »

The service was excellent, and made a great impression. The physical hotel was in great shape. I wish there had been a restaurant. Waiting 70 minutes in hot sun for shuttle is not something I'll do again. Also, there was another Best Western shuttle for a different hotel. There was some confusion because I only knew the hotel name as Best Western Airport South. Apparently there are three hotels by that name. I changed my service rating to very good due to the shuttle. The actual staff were wonderful.

Stayed before and after cruise. Would not ever stay there again. Worst hotel ever. Terrible location. Very run down. They also charged us for the shuttle after check out which we already paid cash for through the shuttle company. No help at all from customer service. Will not stay in any Best Western again.

« Not the Best Western of Yesterday »

I was most pleasantly surprised. This Best Western was quite upscale. All the amenities were great!!! The rooms were really nice and they make arrangements for you to catch the shuttle to cruise ship ports ($12).

« 5 Minute drive to the Airport »

I stayed here a night before flying back home. I booked a bedroom with a queen bed and once arrived I got a room with a little den area with a couch. I was afraid that a mistake was made and they had given me the wrong room and therefore would charge me more at checkout. I still didnt say anything and just took the risk of getting charged for what I got but surprisingly once I received my invoice I was charged the amount I had initially agreed to! That being said my experience at this hotel was wonderful. Although we only spent no more than 4-5 hours there it was nice, clean, and had a great location.

« nice hotel but needs better cleaning »

We stayed here the night before a cruise and have stayed here for that purpose several times. It's a good price and they have free airport shuttle and a cruise port shuttle (recently went up to $12/person which I think is high - taxi is cheaper for several people). My only complaint is this time the room did not seem very clean and didn't smell great. The hotel is older and looks kind of worn but I don't mind that at the reasonable price it is. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Cuban restaurant called Las Vegas right across the street is our favorite place to eat. Shopping close by for getting last minute sunblock, etc. Amazingly, we got very decent wine at the dollar store - 3 bottles for $10 - to take on ship (Carnival allows one per person)

    2
    « Not comming back »

Stinky carpet, horrible smell in the room, noisy AC, bad cleaning service in the room (hairs, nails, buttons, etc in the corners), dirty tables at the breakfast restaurant... Enough! We went running to another hotel.

    « vac »

over all my stay was fine, and I will return again, the only concern was the carpet, it had many stains on it, my bed was very relaxing, the staff was very helpful when I needed the iron replaced, it was no problem. My stay was a vacation and I did not want to be bothered.

    « Two night stay. »

Stayed for 2 nights in a non smoking room on 6th floor. We checked in and were given our room and key. Went to room and it had not been cleaned. Front desk was very good in handling this in 15 minutes. They gave us another room on that floor and it was clean. Rooms are large but starting to show their age. Can hear traffic from highway. Only mirror is in bathroom. and tv is small. But room had stove, refrig, and microwave. Would be good for families. Employees are friendly and seem happy. The breakfast is below average for a BW Plus. Eggs and ham were terrible. Second day we had a waffle and bacon. But outside of that there is little else. Pastry was stale. Breakfast area is kept clean. If the price is right some things can be over looked.

« not sure what the 'plus' is all about in the name »

I booked this hotel as a stop over before taking a cruise. As we spent a week previously in New York before a 2 week cruise, I was looking for a lower cost hotel to help The budget (still $219 though! Or £152) Thinking the PLUS in the title meant it might be a bit more special lol. The only option given online was a smoking room so we had to take it even though we don't smoke. My choice I admit yes, but the room smelt like we were literally walking into a damp ash tray. We asked to be moved and they did, to next door, which was a lot fresher but still smokey smelling of course. We were OK with that for one night. But I was disappointed overall. The hotel is nothing special compared to other low cost hotels we have been in before. I've stayed in Best Western hotels quite a few times and this is the worst I've experienced. The food at breakfast was just about acceptable. Hotel was clean but worn in places. The smoking floor smells a bit weird as you get out of the lift. My daughter smokes but even she wrinkled her nose. If you're not fussy and looking for a lower cost hotel, then this hotel might suffice. Unfortunately it's not somewhere I would choose again. Even if I was a smoker. The non smoking rooms/floors might be great. Check all the reviews and see what others say. I'm just giving my opinion. Rooms were a decent size. The staff were nice. He looked for a non smoking room but said they were all full. So he did try to help me. Never mind, I shall never judge a hotel by its title ever again !! I even paid a little more for this one over the other choices of best western, due to the PLUS in the title. Silly me!!

    « Overnight stay before a cruise »

We stayed on h April 22nd before a Panama Canal cruise on April 23rd. The room was ok. The service and breakfast was good and check out went smoothly. Will definitely stay there again. Only one thing, the shuttle from the airport to the hotel could be improved.

    « Hotel experience »

Hotel front desk were helpful and friendly. However, room service was a bit unfriendly and we had to ask a few times to get towels, as well as service on our final night. However, we never received any. A water outage ruined our final day in FL, which was very inconvenient for us.

    4
« nice place to stay »

if you're looking for a good hotel to stay during a shopping or a cruise trip, this is the place. Nice clean rooms, staff very helpful. The breakfast is small but it has bacon, eggs and waffles and that is all you need! has a parking lot for free and a shuttle service to the airport. stayed there twice and highly recommend.

« Over night stay for cruise »

we arrived late. Front desk was very friendly and helpful made a good recommendation for a restaurant across the street. Arranged for shuttle bus to cruise port. Room was quiet, well appointed and clean. Breakfast was super busy with the hotel being full and many folks heading to the cruise port. 8 ships loading that morning.

    « Comfortable beds! »

Room was decent with two queen beds. Carpets were filthy and needed updating. I spilled some water near the bed and used a washcloth to put over it. When I stepped on the washcloth and picked it up, it was brown! We walked with shoes on, never letting our feet touch the carpet. The continental breakfast was marginal. The eggs were powdered and the only fruit was oranges or bananas. Coffee was good. Very hectic at the front desk and communication was not only frustrating (we were going on a cruise) but seemed inconsistent to what we were originally told. Had to walk across a big highway just to get to a place for food! Would not stay here again.

    3
    « Just okay »

We chose this hotel for its easy access to I-95 and the various places we wanted to visit while vacationing in Florida. Our check-in went smoothly but when we went into our non-smoking room there most definitely was an odor of smoke lingering. That really annoyed me as we were going to stay for several nights. We were also told by the front desk that most people only spend one night when we started asking questions such as recommendations for nearby eat-in pizzerias. We were told there weren't any but they could recommend pizza delivery services. That was not very helpful and we found one on our own just 2 miles away. When I said that I did not see a book in our room with tv channels, breakfast hours, etc., again I was told they didn't have such a thing since their guests usually only stay overnight. We later found one in the desk drawer. So I felt the front desk gentlemen, although pleasant, were not well informed. Between the smell in the room and the too soft pillows I didn't sleep well. I will say that the rooms were well insulated and were therefore quiet. I also did not like the fact that the tub had no type of safety features. There was absolutely nothing to grab onto or any non-skid features. I feel this is an accident waiting to happen. The breakfast was adequate. A lot of people enjoyed the do-it-yourself waffles. There was also usually some type of scrambled eggs, plus some type of meat, and more. I do think they need a better way to keep the hot items hot. The heated top didn't seem to keep them warm enough. As you can probably guess, I would not stay at this hotel again. There were others in the area that I would try next time.

    « Unkempt »

The people at front desk were the worst that i came across till now. The Pool was closed although it was still advertised. There is only one washing machine for the entire hotel. The gym is small. Breakfast buffet is laid out in a strange way all around the room and the room is so small it always feels crowded. On the plus side, the wifi and parking is free and it is right off the freeway and pretty close to the airport. Would not stay here again.

« Swim at own Risk »

I was looking forward to enjoy the swimming pool, its very hot outside, and after I arrived I found out the pool was closed. The pool was drained and being painted. Couldn't this be done during a slow and/or colder time of year? The hotel was full capacity and I heard many other guests complaining about it during breakfast. I had my heart set on the pool but it was closed.

Clean hotel with easy access to major Interstate highways, shopping, food. Reception experience was outstanding . They immediately addressed my needs when I had a blown light in the bathroom and even reimbursed me when the laundry coin machine "stole" my buck. Will return to this hotel!!

    « Not very good »

Not very clean, breakfast is gross, customer service was good sometimes and bad others. They wouldn't call a taxi for us because we wouldn't pay to take their shuttle to the cruise ship. Workout room is too small. Wouldn't stay there again.

« good location, had a nice stay »

We chose this particular Best Western for our one-night stay because of its proximity to the airport. Upon our arrival we learned that we were a bit early for check in and there were issues with our reservation which we had booked online and for which we wanted to use our BW reward points. After another staff member was unable to resolve the issue, Daniel took over. He managed to work everything out, and though it took 45 minutes from start to finish, we were happy as he got us into our room immediately afterward. Daniel was awesome! And he was very helpful with directions. Our room ended up being a suite with a jacuzzi tub and was on the highway side of the hotel, but it was well-insulated from vehicle noise. The only issue we had with it was that the dark over-drapes to shade the room from bright parking lot lights at night were unable to close. I gather this was done on purpose so that they would not cover the air conditioning/heating unit under the window. Breakfast the next morning was as good as it always is. The staff kept bringing out fresh food when the various warmers were getting depleted. Very happy with it overall.

    « Elegant but tired »

At one time this hotel would have been elegant and deserve a stay, but now it is tired and seems to lack in staff enthusiasm. We are a party of eight occupying four rooms for three nights prior to a cruise. One room still had green toothpaste and hair on the sink on check in, (9 oclock at night), another the TV and phone did not work, Other rooms had only one real coffee and one decaf for two people, resulting in a trip to the desk to get an additional package of the type used, Two conditioners and no shampoo, when when staff was asked for a shampoo, the answer was no! Two of the rooms were not made up the after the first night. Towels that were used and hung for re use, as in most hotels, were picked up and later replaced. Today (day two) we arrived back well after lunch and as our room was still not made up, we asked to have our room made up and were told we had to wait as there were no dry towels, and to top it off our room key did not work. There are two saving graces, the location is good for both the airport and the cruise ship terminal, and the shuttle driver who went out of his way to accommodate us on on our arrival. .

    « Great for pre-cruise stay »

Having read many awful reviews I was a little scared. But truly nothing about this hotel is really worthy of complaining. For the price we paid I thought it was great. We were 5 minutes from the cruise port, they offered transportation (we did not use it), a nice breakfast was included, the kids enjoyed the pool, and the room was clean. We were too tired to go to Las Olas Blvd which was nearby. We did grab food less than 2 minutes away at Red Lobster. There were plenty of restaurants nearby plus we realized we forgot a few toiletries so Kmart and other similar stores were nearby. Many reviews referenced the less than friendly front desk staff. While they were not friendly they were fine and performed their duties. However, Daniel was fabulous. He greeted us 2x with a smile and a hello. What a pleasure he was compared to the rest. In the evening there is a small bar area for beer and wine which I also thought was a surprising but nice touch. Would I stay there for a week on vacation? No but for a night or 2 it is more than adequate.

    3
« So so but poor location »

A generic Best Western and perfectly adequate. Two considerations. First, there is no restaurant in the hotel and there are only two nearby. One is a decent Cuban place across eight lanes of unregulated traffic and the other is a diner in a strip mall about half a mile away. Getting there is hardly fun and may be dangerous given the traffic. Second, the hotel is a $30 cab ride to downtown so a visit there will cost you $60. Its a nice downtown so you might want to consider paying a little more and staying there.

    4
« Stay at the Hotel »

the hotel met our expectations. The Hotel is close to all important highway so we could come and go very easy. In the near area there are a lot of fast food places. We are sure to come back to this hotel on our next trip to USA.

    « Takes a min... »

When we first arrived in our room, a bit disappointed as carpet worn and room seemed bare. However, as we gave it another look.. Everything is very clean. Also, amid the old is very new. Sink is modern ..TV..furniture in good shape. Also, friendly hotel staff. The breakfast was better than previous reviews suggested. Eggs, potatoes, bacon, cereal, waffles, yogurt, cereal and fruit. Eggs were scrambled in itty bitty pieces. While good, I couldn't get use to the texture. Everything else was good. Coffee wonderful. The only real negative is not enough towels but if you call they will get you more. Unsure why there is only 2 to start with. Positive is close by really good restaurants. We took Uber to Grandpa's bakery. 5.00. Their shuttle to port is 12.50 per person..a bit high when you can Uber it cheaper. However, all in all..we have been happy here and would stay again.

The room was very spacious and clean.Close to shopping and some restaurants .After our cruise we went back and stayed 3 more days at this hotel great value for your money!

    « Unorganized & unsympathetic »

We picked this hotel based on a finding a good deal and the free shuttle was a plus. Upon landing at FLL, I called at 10:05 to let the hotel know we were getting our luggage and to ask when the shuttle would come. The associate said to stand outside and it will be by soon. My dad was waiting for the shuttle and never saw it go by. I called again at 10:30 and was told that the shuttle comes every hour and the next shuttle would be by at 11:15pm. If it comes every hour, we never saw it come by at 10:15. If this is true, wish they'd make that known that it comes once an hour instead of telling several people (who we were waiting with) that it was "on it's way". Then it was time to check-in, At this point it was 11:30pm. I had two young children with me and asked if they had any milk available because my girls like a little bit of milk before bed. He said no, nothing is open at this hour. But that there is a gas station 5 minutes away. I told him that I know they serve breakfast and I'm sure they have milk available for that and asked if it was possible just to get a tiny bit milk in their two small cups and he said no. I was willing to pay and wish they had worked with me. The next morning the girls enjoyed an early morning swim and the hot breakfast was a nice perk. We had a party of 9 and were not willing to pay $12 a person for the shuttle, so we caught two cabs and paid less than $20 per cab. The room itself was ok, the carpet has some sticky stuff which was kind of gross and our shower didn't have a liner or curtain which was odd. Would I stay there again? Not sure.

« Pre-Cruise Stay! Horrible hotel and service! »

Stayed pre-cruise because of the location and the shuttle service! God what a horrible place and experience this was! The Pros: its somewhere too sleep. The Cons: - airport shuttle ( had to wait hour and a half after calling repeatedly to the front desk) - arrived at the front desk (was received by a clerk that thinks its a know it all and lies and makes false promises, forgot his name but he was wearing a suit) - the room (worn carpets, worn curtains, bad tv service showing weak or no signal over and over, no room service) - laundry facilities (out of soap and dryer took 3 rounds in order to properly dry clothes) -breakfast (overcrowded, but it was good cant complaint) I've stayed in cheap hotels before and I dont mind because i know what to expect because they are cheap. But this places was something different. Way to expensive for what it offers. I suggest you stay somewhere else. for the same amount of money there are better places!

« Worst hotel I have ever stayed at »

This hotel is one of the worst places I have ever stayed at. The room was smokey and stale, even through we specified non-smoking. Clearly, many many people had smoked in the room and it has never been properly cleaned. In addition, the hallway wreaked of pot smoke. In addition, it is far from the Ft. Lauderdale airport entrance and took a $30 cab ride to get there, then another long cab ride to get to the cruise ship. The breakfast was ended early so no food. The bar wanted $9 for a Bud Lite. The pictures on the website must have been taken 15 long hard years ago. Stay far away.

    2
    « Disappointed »

Stayed here pre cruise and were very disappointed. The rooms were spacious but a bit shabby and not particularly clean. The curtains didn't close and the netting over window had holes in it. Breakfast was terrible dirty tables, dirty dishes not cleared and not very appitzing food. Staff on reception were nice and friendly but wouldn't stay here again.

« Room was comfortable, breakfast was wonderful, but the front desk needs sensitivity training. Shuttle service horrible. »

We arrived at Fort Lauderdale airport on Friday March 25th. We were told to go outside the terminal, turn right and wait at the hotel shuttle area pick up. Every hotel bus stopped at the pick up area many times. There was NO SHUTTLE from your hotel. We called several times and were told 10-15 minutes, he is on his way. We explained EXACTLY where we were so there would be no confusion. After 1 1/2 - 2 hours - in the rain - and many irate phone calls, a bus finally arrived. One family was there more than 2 hrs and had made many calls, getting hung up on once. There were 10 people waiting for this bus. When we finally arrived at the hotel, the desk personnel were indifferent, as if this was a normal occurrence. They did not apologize or even acknowledge our complaints. We asked to see the manager and were told that you would be in the following day at 10am. The next morning we asked to speak with you and were told you would not be in. We paid $12 each for transportation to the cruise terminal. I suggested to the desk person when we checked out that we be compted for that fee as compensation for the previous day's bus nightmare. He never acknowledged my request, even with a statement that he didn't have authorization for that. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful. However, the front desk staff are not personable, and are certainly not good representatives of Best Western. Please, do something about the communication between the hotel and the bus driver so that this situation is not repeated.

« A good value for a mid range Motel »

Stopped there after a cruise. We rented a car and it was freeway close and very near the airport. Room was large, and relatively quiet (on side away from freeway). Included breakfast was very good with varied choices. Eggs. sausages, ham, waffles, breads to toast, yoghurt, cereal, etc. Friendly staff. Prompt shuttle service on return to airport.

    3
« Looks nice, not perfect »

It was about a 20 to 30 minute wait for the shuttle at the airport. With our experience, that's about average for any shuttle. Check-in took a long time. I was second in line, but when the employee (I think he was a manager, he wore a suit) finished with the party in front of me, he had to leave. He said someone else would help me soon. It was a five or 10 minute wait, I guess not long, but after a long day of traveling, I just wanted our keys. Finally got checked in, went up the elevator (it's slow), got to our room and neither of the key cards worked. My husband was more tired than I, so I went back to the desk to get other keys. Turns out the keys I was first given weren't coded. The desk clerk went through more than a couple cards in a stack before he picked up cards that could be coded. Got into the room and liked it. The hotel is not very old and the room (a mini-suite with a king bed) was spacious and comfortable. There were fingerprints on the table in our room, though, which was a turn-off. I checked out the bathroom next. There was only one bath towel and it was a little threadbare. I went back to the front desk to get two more towels. They were really thick and long and soft - perfect! I think they should have been in the room before we checked in, though. It was posted that breakfast began at 6 a.m. The next morning we were there at about 6:10 or maybe 6:20 and the crew was just getting things out. So we waited, along with 10 or so others. Before 7:00 the breakfast room was ready. It was OK, though, because they had a waffle maker! I put some waffle mix in, and it just sat there, not cooking, even though it was plugged in and turned on. I told the woman working there, and she was not happy, she seemed to think it was my fault. She took away that machine and eventually brought in another one. But by that time I had discovered there was another waffle maker across the room. I used that one and the waffles were great. The location is a bit out-of-the-way. It's walking distance to fast food (Taco Bell, Burger King) and to KMart (where I bought some wine for our cruise), but its kind of a long walk. You walk along a six lane busy road. Make sure you cross in the right place - which is about five or six blocks away, going toward the fast food and KMart area. We made the mistake of not crossing there when we walked back to Best Western and had to either jay walk over the six lanes, or walk back six blocks, then walk up six blocks. We jaywalked. There is a restaurant across the street from Best Western.- Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine - that the shuttle driver recommended. To get there, you have to jay walk, or walk the six blocks up then six blocks back before and after dinner. There might be a more convenient way to get there, but if there is, we didn't see it. We needed a ride to Port Everglades to get to our cruise. The hotel contracts out a shuttle service. It costs $12 per person ($24 for the two of us) plus tip, and for the ship we were on, the shuttle left at NOON!! That's after the hotel check out time. We wanted to get to our cruise sooner than that, so we called a cab. It cost us $20 plus tip and we could leave when we wanted. We didn't use the pool, but we looked at it. Its in an enclosed privacy fence in the parking lot. There is no shade and its pretty small.

    « Not what I considered a "plus" hotel »

I was disappointed in this property. The rooms were barely ordinary. The desk people were more interested in talking on the phone and weren't very helpful. I know this was "spring break" but the elevators were down more than up, the rooms were plain and needed repair. I have stayed in a lot better "plus" Best Westerns than this one and I would not go back.

« Perfect Pre Cruise Stay »

After booking this hotel we read many less than complimentary reviews prior to us arriving. With this in mind we were very apprehensive about our choice of hotel. It was booked due to its proximity to the cruise terminal. However, on arriving we were pleasantly surprised. We had travelled from the UK so had a long journey plus a drive up from Miami airport. We parked our hire car in the ample car park and was checked in very quickly by a very helpful receptionist. We had been allocated a quiet room on the 1st floor. It was more than adequate for our 2 night stay prior to our cruise. Large comfortable bed, television for hubby, tea and coffee facilities plus a fridge and microwave. There was also a separate sink next to the tea/coffee facilities. Plenty of clean towels and hot water. Yes, the breakfast was basic as has been mentioned by previous reviews but it was constantly being replenished. Plenty of coffee, juice, yoghurts, waffle machine and scrambled eggs with bacon. We used a 50s diner across the street and under the bridge. The Moonlite diner. There is also a Mall with a few shops for any last minute items. Checkout was speedy and the reception had plenty of staplers on hand for cruise passengers to use for their luggage labels. Did not use the shuttle service as we had a hire car but we would definitely use this hotel again if in the area.

    « pre cruise stay »

Hotel is perfect for a pre cruise stay, pick up at airport was good (we arrived very late due to late arrival of plane) and free. Room was clean, good size and not noisy (we had a room to the highway, and no problem) Breakfast was not special, but what do you want for a free breakfast. For this it was ok. You could book a transfer to the ship in the hotel for $ 12 one way with Star Limousine . Very good service from them. We would stay there again for 1 night

    « Average Florida cruise/airport hotel »

I was hesitate to book this hotel through Getaroom.com as I had never used them before. The room was prepaid and everything turned out fine. The hotel is newer but it services a lot of people and the hotel is starting to show wear and tear. Our room was decent but the air conditioner put out a nasty smell the entire time it was turned on. There is literally nowhere to eat around the hotel except for a Cuban restaurant and a subway. The next morning, we had the hotel's breakfast which is typical for this chain. They did not have near enough seating. The place was packed and most people were taking their food back to their rooms. Other than that, everything was typical for this level of hotel.

After waiting an hour for the transportation from the airport to the hotel we had to catch a cab because when the shuttle finally arrived the driver told me that it was full and that we would have to wait for the next shuttle. We called the hotel after landing and was told that they run every hour. Not good. The stay at the hotel was good, the room was clean and the breakfast was okay. If I needed to stay in Dania I would catch a cab, by the way the cab fare came to $30.00. The shuttle was suppose to be free.

if you need an overnight stay before a cruise, this may work at a price point. But property needs renovation- leaky faucets; bathroom tiles for another century. there are other options available. Breakfast was reasonable; but place was crowded.

The staff always greets me with a smile. The hotel is in a great location and as a business traveler I really like the style of the rooms which have a microwave and refrigerator along with a sitting area. The GM takes the time to say hello to the guests at breakfast

« Busy hotel for cruise guests »

Four of our family were embarking on a Caribbean cruise departing from the cruise terminal on a Sunday afternoon. So, we made reservations to spend Saturday evening at this hotel and we all shared one room. The price for rooms for this weekend in March were unusually high everywhere and we assumed it was somehow associated with spring break. The hotel has a very nice and classy appearance from the street. The access into the hotel parking lot was not very obvious, and, if you miss the entrance the first time going by, it takes multiple U-turn maneuvers to get back to it again. Also, once into the parking lot, the hotel blocked off part of the lot to allow the erection of a billboard high above. Due to blocking off part of the parking lot, traffic is only allowed to flow in one direction and must pass directly in front of the hotel lobby. I mention this because that same parking lot area, directly in front of the lobby, is also the staging area for hotel guests to board shuttle busses and vans in the morning for transport to the cruise terminal and the airport. It becomes a huge mess in the morning when private vehicles, taxis, limos, busses, and vans are all trying to enter or exit the hotel to board and offload guests. The hotel lobby is nice in appearance. Our room was clean and nicely furnished. There are no restaurants within a reasonable walking distance of the hotel and the neighborhood does not have the appearance of one in which you would feel safe walking around after dark. We ended up ordering delivery from a local Italian restaurant/pizzeria. The hotel staff was not very helpful, and sometimes could be considered rude. We were on the 8th floor. When we called down to the front desk and asked if we could get an additional bath towel, as there were only 3 in the room, the desk clerk said we would need to come down to the lobby desk for any additional or missing items for the room. In the morning, my wife and I went down to the lobby at the start of the time we were told breakfast was being served. Coffee was available in multiple spots and was hot and fresh. It was the only thing available for breakfast that was hot and fresh. The breads (bagels, cinnamon bread, pastries, slices, etc) were either still frozen or were too stale to eat. There were ham slices, rolled up with cheese in the center, sitting in a serving tray that appeared it should have been heated. But, the ham and cheese were cold as were the eggs sitting in the next tray. There was no microwave to heat anything up. After all four of us were ready to exit the room and head down to the lobby with our luggage to catch the shuttle bus, we waited for the elevator. It was 9 o'clock in the morning and the area in front of the elevators was crammed with hotel maids and their carts. Instead of having a service elevator, they were using the guest elevators. I don't have a problem with maids doing their job, but these hotel staff were downright rude. They jumped in front of every elevator and filled it with workers and their carts. We were there for 20 minutes trying to catch an elevator without success. Every time an elevator was not filled with workers, it was filled with guests from higher floors who had encountered the same problem, leaving no room for additional riders. We finally were forced to catch an elevator going up and ride it back down just to ensure we could get to the lobby for our appointed 9:45 shuttle departure. On our down elevator ride, we encountered a family on one floor who told us they had been trying for 40 minutes to catch an open elevator because the maids kept cramming them full. The lobby desk clerk/manager appeared uncaring when I mentioned the elevator problem to him. If you stay here, try to get a room on a low floor so you can carry your luggage down the stairs in the morning. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean for a single night's stay. My family are not big breakfast people, so having fresh coffee available was okay. But, if you have the option, I would recommend staying in a different location.

    « 2 Day Stay before Cruise. »

Not a bad Hotel, but the rooms could use some upgrades. It is quiet Hotel. The place where they serve Breakfast could have been a bit bigger, it was very crowded and no place to sit to eat Breakfast. Go Early for Breakfast because they put everything away by 10:30 AM They should also upgrade their Air Conditioning in the rooms. Some of the Staff behind the desk should be more freindly to the Customers.

The hotel has average service although the pricing was a bit high for the value. Although I liked the location and the hotel's outside appearance, the room was average in comfort, cleanliness and appearance. The bathroom air extractor was a bit too loud.

my family and I recently returned home from a cruise in ft Lauderdale,,we spent 2 nights at this hotel.the hotel offers a shuttle service to the port through a tour company they use and recommended to us,,we paid cash to this company in the lobby of the hotel,Upon checking out prior to departing I noticed my room had been charged 72$ I brought this up to the front desk clerk and showed him my receipt from the tour company,he told me that the charges would be removed from my card,When I received my credit card statement the 72$ was still on my card,i phoned the hotel on fri the 18th of march and was told a manager would call me about this matter,i have waited 3 days with no response from a manager,i also sent an email with no reply..So I phoned the hotel again and was dealt with by a very rude desk clerk named alfonso, who in no short order said too bad and preceded to hang up on me.i strongly caution anyone staying here, byer beware,Glenn Elliot

« Find somewhere else to go »

As I sit here at the hotel, I am writing this when I should be packing to get out of here as fast as possible. When we walked in last night my husband stepped on a cracker that was left on the floor-there goes your ranking for cleanliness. The carpet has definitely seen its better day. The shower will not give you hot water if someone else is using the sink in the bathroom. The television stations did not come in clearly, and the best advice the person at the front desk can give was to unplug and replug the tv in. When we checked in they told us breakfast was in the morning from 6-10am, we worked out in the sub-par 'fitness center' and went down at 9:30am only to find it already packed up-because weekdays it only runs until 9am, too bad they failed to mention that last night. Can't wait to leave and never return. I suggest looking into one of the many other hotels in the area if you need something around here. I should have known this would not be good after seeing the stray cats wandering around outside.

« Worst Hotel stay ever »

Well where to start? After flying in to Ft. Lauderdale and arriving late, approx 10pm by the time we arrived at the hotel, we checked in, we were given room keys to a room with 2 double beds which we reserved 3 months prior to our arrival, we decided to go out for a quick bite and to pick up some last minute essentials before our cruise the next morning, so we never checked our room upon check in. After finishing our errands and eating something we arrived back at our hotel and proceeded to unload the rental car and entered our room, so we thought! Our room key opened the door to the correct room that we were assigned, only problem was that there was someone else in that room, fortunately they were not in the room at the time but all of their stuff was all over the room, we could have helped our selves to new iPads, computers and whatever else was in there.....but did't. I was just glad we didn't walk in on these people in their room and startle them or our selves, who knows, people carry guns these days! Anyways we head back downstairs to reception and tell them the situation, first they don't believe me, then they go look for themselves and after 20 mins or so they come out say you are correct.......no kidding? Then the fun starts...... they proceed to inform us that there are no rooms available for us? After much back and forth they finally offer a room with a king bed and a pullout sofa for 4 adults? Very uncomfortable pullout I must say. Problem was that they gave us the key to room and because we were not there for a period of 2 hours they checked in someone else to our room, this is completely unacceptable. We had made the reservation through Airmiles therefore they were not really willing to help us out? I was livid with the front desk as we were there with a reservation confirmation from 3 months prior and they wouldn't resolve the situation. Eventually because we were hitting a brick wall I relented and accepted the new room which out of nowhere became available (lots of noise made at the busy front desk though), only problem now was that room reeked of cigarette smoke, completely disgusting odour. Now we were told that our reservation went in as a smoking room, it didn't and I have the confirmation to prove it. Anyway we were tired, it was 2 am now and we had to get up early the next morning for our cruise. We went to bed, did not sleep a wink, I would of slept better in the car now that I think of it? Next morning the free breakfast was inedible, one bite of the so called eggs and we were all gagging! Many other guests were saying the same. The Manager in the morning was of no help and "could not offer any compensation for our unfortunate situation" unfortunate?? We left as soon as we could, very tired, hungry and extremely happy to be in one piece! Never received any compensation from the hotel other than 5000 points that will never be used. Completely unacceptable situation that apparently happened to other guests that same evening, very unprofessional staff and completely unacceptable resolve and response from both the night staff, the morning staff and management!

Convenient for the airport and a couple of restaurants. Good room size. Check in was very pleasant but check out could have been a bit more friendly. Well it wasn't and eventually got it b ut was made to feel as being a nuisance.

    « Just o.k. »

Booked this hotel pre cruise. Had a late flight in. Shuttle was to run from the airport every hour on the hour until 11 p.m. . We felt lucky since we got to the shuttle pick up area at 9:45 p.m. Well, the shuttle didn't get there until about 10:20 p.m. and was already packed. The 2 of us made it on, but others were left to find a cab. Meanwhile, we had seen vans from other hotels come and go several times. One of the reasons that we booked this hotel was because of the free airport shuttle and breakfast. Also, they had a lounge, but it was too late for a much needed night cap by the time we got to the hotel. The room itself was o.k. Sheets looked very thin and worn. Seemed clean enough, but for over $250 for the night, I expected more. The breakfast was very busy and crowded. Had to wait for a table. The food, though was good. Waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt, good coffee. The hotel offered a shuttle to the pier for $12pp. We got an Uber car, instead for about $15, total, including tip, and the Uber driver took us to a drugstore for last minute items! Overall, it was just o.k. Seemed overpriced for what you got.

The room was a small suite which was good even though didn't need as much room as on ly there for one night. The bed was comfortable. I don't know all a/cs in BW hotels have to make so much noise! Weren't able to sample breakfast as leaving too early but was offered a Grab & Go bag which even though ordered wasn't waiting as it should have been but eventually got it. Conveniently located for airport and not too far from some restaurants either.

« Great cruise port rooms! »

We stayed two nights before our cruise. Very reasonable, great location, walkable to fast food and many stores in case you forgot to pack something. Theater nearby, good selection of breakfast food. It was too cool for us to sit out, but there is a small pool and exercise room. Large rooms and additional cost for transportation to the cruise. We also used the service from the ship to the airport. Definitely would stay there again!

« Not bad for a one night stay »

Dear hubby and I stayed here for one night since it was just one night lol. The desk personnel did their job but there was nothing exceptional about the service provided. I guess that is what distinguishes a three (3) star hotel from a five (5) star. Room was a bit musty smelling and a little old. However you get what you pay for! Will I stay there again...probably....but only if it's to rest my eyes and head for a couple hours.

« A great place to layover for your cruise! »

A nice, modern hotel with all of the necessary amenities for the business traveler or the traveling family. Clean, simple, modern feel with generous sized rooms, comfortable beds, a nice pool area and very convenient location for Ft. Lauderdale airport and cruise port travel. The staff is very helpful, every one of them! I'm sorry I didn't take down names. They recommended a wonderful and very budget-friendly Cuban restaurant withing walking distance for dinner. The staff also made sure that each guest checking in was advised of the pool area available, the happy hour in the lounge and the breakfast hours. This hotel is also within walking distance of a shopping mall if you need items you may have forgotten at home. I am a travel agent and recommend this hotel especially for a pre-cruise night stay. Complimentary airport transfers make it easy and you can purchase cruise port transfer for next day - inexpensive and easy transportation to your ship!

« Convenience is the key »

We booked this hotel on line ourselves with their 1-800 phone number. (Cheaper than our travel agent could get) When I explained that we were novices at this, and asked all kinds of questions, the operator with whom I spoke couldn't have been more gracious, and answered all my questions. As advertised, when we landed in Ft. Lauderdale airport, we used the airport phone to call the hotel, (direct line) and we were told to just go outside and to the right where there would be a bus with the name of the hotel on it to pick us up. We did, and in a few minutes, the bus came along. The bus also picked up passengers for other hotels so we did not go directly to the hotel, but eventually, we got there. We were not complaining, it was lovely and warm. The check-in procedure was easy except we were issued key cards for an occupied room!. It was $12/pp for bus transport to the Cruise Ship Port and we were able to book a pick up from the Cruise Ship Terminal for transport back to the airport when we returned from our cruise. That went smoothly as well. Very convenient for pre or after cruising.

    « Disappointed »

Very disappointing especially considering that Seminole Hard Rock Hotel is 5 mins away. They say this is an airport hotel, the free shuttle and breakfast did not start early enough for my flight. I had hoped for a restful night sleep but it was pretty awful, bad bed, dirty dusty corners on stained carpet, the sofa bed was a complete joke and there were just enough towels if we all reused. For the price I expected some amenities.

    « Airport proximity »

Found the hotel to be very convenient overnighting in between our cruise and flight home. Very pleasant staff, clean room ..... we were upgraded to a mini suite....which we appreciated after spending 10 days on a luxurious cruise vacation. We were disappointed that there wasn't a good selection of restaurants other than fast food within walking distance, but a $6 Uber ride was all it took to get to a wonderful restaurant for dinner. We would stay again if flying in our out of Fort Lauderdale in the future. Thank you Best Western PLUS.

« Not up to par »

It was late when we arrived and it is very hard to find the turn into the property. It is not well marked. The first room we were given 606 had a horrible moldy smell that immediately made my eyes water. It also felt unclean. The desk clerk said at first that he did not have another room but I insisted. He did give us another room and it still had a musty smell but it was tolerable. Where else are you going to go at midnight when all the hotels in the area are booked? The breakfast ended to early at 9 am. A family with 3 children came at 9:05 and there was not a crumb available and the staff did not seem to care. Location is close to the airport and not to far from the beach.

« Large room, comfortable bed, clean, great fresh oranges at breakfast! »

With this title, why did I rate this average? (1) the free airport shuttle: there is one, but it runs just once an hour and won't wait for you if your bag hasn't come on the conveyor belt yet (2) the room: huge, with a small kitchen and regular clothes closet (obviously intended for long stays), but a molding strip us coming off and there are multiple holes in the rubberized blackout curtain. No safe in the room., no plastic laundry bag. (3) the bathroom: I like the features for older folks (lots of bars in the bath/shower, a plastic chair to sit on) and the overall size, but the counter around the sink is small and the toiletries are niggardly (small bottle of shampoo, similar small bottle of conditioner, two small square bars of soap, one shower cap. There is a built-in hair dryer at the sink. (4) the breakfast buffet (6-9 am): there is variety (several kinds of juice, coffee and decaf, envelopes of instant oatmeal and hot chocolate) plus there are small yogurt cartons, cream cheese, etc. in a cooler next to the two waffle stations. There seem to be a good selection of waffle toppings. Four kinds of cold cereal, all of the sugary Cocoa Puffs variety. Hot food: hash browns, molded egg discs, and ham/cheese roll ups in covered metal hot-dish servers. The ham/ cheese roll ups were cold but tasted good. TV set to Fox News. Fresh fruit - apples and oranges! Oh, the oranges - it's do great to be in Florida as opposed to the Northeast, where you never get fruit like this. (5) amenities: there's a gym, but it's microscopically small. There's an outdoor pool surrounded by a wooden fence, large enough to play around in but not get a good swim. (6) location: just off the I-95 ramp, good for those with cars, but not good for those who want to walk anywhere. There are multiple crosswalks (long waits for the walk signals) to get to the other side where the fast food is. There are ships in the other side of wide, heavily-trafficked Stirling, but I could not find any way to cross it on foot. What I like about this place is the fact you can't really hear the traffic on I-95 from inside your room, the a/c is excellent and easily controlled, the bed has many good thick pillows, the furniture is apparently new and substantial, and the housekeepers do a great job. I would stay here again, especially if I had a vehicle.

    « Not as advertised »

The website description and reality are not even close. Driving distance from the airport, amenities, and the claim to be one of the best in Ft. Lauderdale are exaggerated to say the least. In addition, the area for the complimentary breakfast is far too small for the number of guests that they house. We would not recommend it.

« Lobby dirty, Hallway smells like Weed, Stinky musty unclean room. »

Arrived at the hotel to a friendly front desk wait person, but all downhill from there. Lobby appears dirty and unkept, we get our room and head up to find our hallway absolutely reeks like marijuana, with our room ranking just as bad smelling like a mixture of damp old towels and old socks. I was afraid to take my socks off, and slept on top of the covers fully clothed. It's amazing they can get away with charging so much a night, I have stayed in $100 a night motels that were cleaner. Overall very poor experience, very little value in staying here other than a bed to sleep in (not that I trusted taking my clothes off on the bed)

    « Not a good experience »

When we arrived we waited on the shuttle. When it did come there was not room for all of those waiting. We were told that American was the second stop on the shuttle when it did return. We had already waited 45 minutes and knew that it would take several trips before there was room for four of us. We took a cab to the hotel. Check in was a nightmare. Waited in line for over an hour, rooms were not ready. People who had checked-in earlier and left their luggage to go on a tour were returning and moving ahead in line with a "red" ticket. Didn't matter, their rooms were not ready either.. Needless to say the lobby was full of very unhappy people. Someone was there selling vouchers for the trip to the cruise terminal for the next morning of which we were encouraged to buy, about $15 each. The lady at the front desk said that if we took a cab it could be almost $80 dollars as the cabs are only let in a few at a time. We did do the voucher and turned out fine, but did not see any line of cabs waiting outside to enter the cruise terminal. Not sure this was true. When we did get our room, it was fine with the exception that the carpet was filthy. It looked to be in good shape but had not seen a cleaning since it was put in. We asked about restaurants nearby and were told to walk to the end of the block, go under the freeway and there was a Red Lobster right there, just a short walk. NOT!! it was a good 25 minute walk and never found the Red Lobster. If you do venture to stay here take a cab to somewhere to eat.

Don't stay here unless you are desperate. They lie about the rates, and you are overcharged when you arrive at the hotel . The standards of cleanliness are very low and the hotel is virtually under the I 95 freeway, with the buzz of traffic all night. Very unpleasant experience, I did not feel comfortable.

    « Pretty nice place »

Location right next to I95 was what we wanted. Overall facility and service was really good, so was the value. Shuttle service to the airport was prompt and courteous. Swimming pool area was smaller than expected and lacked a hot tub.

« Its not what it looks like in the photo »

The Bad: The rooms seem to all smell from mildew presumably from the old and tired carpets. We were told they are planning to replace them soon. Hundreds of people stay there before their cruises. The breakfast area is more crowded than Union station at rush hour, so go early if you want any of the fresh fruit, but not too early or they won't be ready on time. Its right underneath the I-95 highway which is noisy. Got a $40.00 parking ticket when we went to Dania beach (had never been there before, so wanted to look at it before purchasing a parking pass) only minutes after parking. We are disputing it, but we will see.... The Good: Housekeeping staff tried to find a nicer room for us. The bed and room seemed fairly clean. Big Marshalls/Ross etc nearby

    2
    « Stay Away, craziness! »

The only reason why we stayed at this hotel was it was close to the I95 and the beach. Besides that, I hate Best Western after being denied entry in Smithfield, North Carolina and Bonita Springs, Florida because we had children. This hotel is full of crazy cruise people, the breakfast area doesn't accommodate the amount of guests going thru, its noisy and the rooms need an upgrade. The staff were kind but seemed overwhelmed with the amount of people. Getting into the hotel looks like a dump and it is difficult getting in and out of the parking lot. Don't recommend.

    4
« Great location; great staff »

The location of this hotel is close to hopping on the highway to go north or south. It's also close to beaches and restaurants. Our room was clean and comfortable. I recommend earplugs if you are light sleeper since this hotel is next to a major highway. One drawback is that the hotel shuttle service to the airport doesn't start running until 6am and runs every hour on the hour ... those with early flights and no rental car would need to incur the added expense of a taxi/Uber.

    2
« You might be better off camping! »

What can I say? The only reason I did not give it one star is that I do appreciate that there are worse hotels than this out there....But to have granted three stars would have been insulting to legitimately budget-value hotels that do their thing well. I vistied in peak winter season, so the place was pretty crowded. My work colleague suggested the crowds were Cruise ship layovers, which makes sense as this is literally just a place to catch some zzzs between flight and cruise. The finishes and fittings in the common areas and room themselves are beyond tired, the desk unit was falling apart in my room. There is no safe, the TV remote worked only intermttently, the room keys kept malfunctioning, the phone could not dial out to the front desk or connect to an outside line. My room faced the highway, so was noisy. It also smelled of the cheapest cover-up cleaners or some other such product. There is a complimentary "breakfast" included in the price, but skip this entirely if at all possible. The food is inedible, and the coffee tasted like warmed over dishwater. I keep reminding myself that "you get what you pay for". This is a cheap hotel, and we ended up here because it was the only hotel in the area that could accommodate our party of three for three nights. We decided to check out after the second night and moved to another hotel. I suppose if your expectations are realistic, having read this and other reviews, you could survive a night or two here without too much disappointment, but otherwise avoid this hotel at all costs.

We stayed here on our way to cruise and when we got back. We enjoyed the clean, quiet rooms and ample breakfast each time. It is located right next to a freeway but I never heard a thing. « Hotel Shuttle A Crap Shoot »

I picked this location becuase it had an airport shuttle and a good price. I called the property before booking to reconfirm the shuttle service. They misrepresented the service. It did not operate when I needed it. When that was finally made clear on check in, the front desk clerk suggested an arranged airport shuttle instead of a taxi for a better price and because we could make a specific pick up time. When it came time to make the arrangments another clerk refused to call a shuttle company saying it was too much hassle and a taxi would be easier. As for the hotel, it was good enough for price and location. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The flat screen did not turn so it was only viewable from the bed but not a big deal. There is NO WIFI as advertised either.

We booked this property for a pre and post cruise stay. Although the staff for the most part were very nice, the condition of the hotel was not. The carpets in the room were dirty (both stays), we would not take off our shoes until we got into bed. One of the 2 elevators was down all evening into the next morning(no one had phoned for repairman yet) Upon our arrival at FLL it was after 9 pm and many hotel shuttles are on demand at that time so we phoned the hotel only to be told it only runs on the hour... now we are waiting until 10 pm to be picked up. The bar area was a disgrace non working draught beer dispensers little frozen pizzas and boxed frozen wings were your only food options, and garbage was overflowing in refuse containers . The morning of our cruise we went to the lobby as instructed to await our port shuttle pickup. Upon check out we had an additional charge of 12.00 per person on my invoice for the port shuttle. We booked over 6 mos ahead and I had phoned directly to speak to the front desk at least 3 times to get shuttle info and confirmation that a shuttle to the port was included, never once was I told about a charge. Needless to say I was not excited to return to this facility at the end of our cruise, but tried to be optimistic, once we entered our room all my optimism vanished. yukk again! I will never stay here again! Shame on you Best Western for allowing your name on this property.

« Overrun by cruise passengers! »

Normally I like Best Western properties but this hotel near the Fort Lauderdale airport just didn't do it for me. Perhaps, because when we visited, the entire hotel was overtaken by raucous cruise line passengers staying there the night before they sailed. On the plus side, the rooms were large and the beds very comfortable. The rooms were also well insulated. Noise was kept to a minimum, considering the circumstances. But considering we were paying $186 per night, I thought the amenities were at a bare minimum. Breakfast is do it yourself and below average for the category..For late arrivals, the hotel does have a snack bar but guests are limited to two choices, both of which had to be microwaved. Pizza and chicken wings. My wife ordered pizza, I had the chicken wings. They both were inedible. The late night server spent the entire evening on her cell talking with friends. There was no service, not even a smile. Under normal circumstances, I'd give this hotel a poor rating, except for the fact that the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Customer service is completely non-existant!

on balance this is a good pre and post cruise stay facility reception staff very busy when groups arrive in droves which is frequent.. additional staff at peak arrival and departure times which should be predictable would help would really be nice if shuttle service extended to include trips to nearby shopping and restaurants.

    « Ok location for a cruise »

Stayed one night before a cruise. Location is ok if you don't mind walking a few blocks for food or shopping. Rooms was clean. Check in and pick up at airport was a disaster.waited 45 minutes for shuttle. Waited 20 minutes at check in to be told rooms not ready, went shopping 2 hours to return and wait another 20 minutes to finally get a room,Staff was over whelmed and needed more help. Management has to know that they are sold out and 7 cruises in town. Over priced for the service you get.

« Any place but here!!!! »

If you are traveling to Ft. Lauderdale to connect with a Cruise-Don't stay here. You can be exhausted from an early morning flight or fresh off a cruise ship disembarkation and you will have to sit in a lobby for anywhere from 3 to 4 hours, waiting for the Princess at the desk to award you a smelly, dirty room. Furthermore, the location of this "hotel" is such that there is literally nothing to do except take your life in your hands and walk up to BJ's and/or Walmart. And dining, is across a 6 lane highway to a mediocre Cuban restaurant or Burger King, Subway, Chipolte....

« Great overnight stay before cruise »

When I booked this hotel, there were a few sketchy reviews out there but I had a great deal through travelocity and decided to give it a try for my family of 4 before our Disney cruise. First of all, the shuttle to the hotel was absolutely stress free. Our driver was courteous and prompt and pointed out sites and nearby restaurants as the hotel does not have a restaurant. You are only about 8 minutes away from the hotel. Check in was a breeze, the two men running the desk were courteous and full of smiles and greetings. My kids were starving so we ordered from the recommended restaurant that delivers, Big C Downtown Pizzeria. We ordered a chef salad, a pizza and chicken tenders with fries. They delivered promptly and we ate at the bar/lounge area as there were plenty of tables as that is where the free breakfast buffet is. I HIGHLY recommend the chef salad, it's huge and full of meats and cheese, it was so good! Upon entering our room, the window was open and a wonderful breeze was coming through, the room and bathroom was clean. Our room was facing the interstate, I honestly do not understand what the previous complaints were about the noise, it did not bother us at all and I'm a very light sleeper. I can't review the pool as we were unable to use it due to the abnormally cool temps outside. The free breakfast was delicious. There were eggs, sausage, potatoes, fruit, make your own waffles, yogurts, pastries, variety of juice/hot chocolate, coffee/teas. Plentiful and delicious although I thought the waffle batter was a little bland but I'm used to fruity type waffles or pancakes. We were pleased overall. We would definitely stay here again, we had no issues with this hotel, the staff or complaints on the cleanliness of the hotel or problems with the shuttle as stated by one or two previous posters. The only improvement would be that a restaurant is needed but there is a Subway down the street and other restaurants a few blocks away, so it's really more of a convenience. The do have a little store where you can buy frozen dinners, water/assortment of drinks and snack type items. If you are looking for a place to stay near the airport that offers free shuttle and free breakfast then look no further!

    « Could do better »

Staff professional. Rooms clean and a good size. Beds comfy. Do not plan on getting your room for the 3 PM check in. We had to wait at least an hour after posted time on two separate occasions. Close to airport and cruise terminal. Walking distance to restaurants and stores.

« Gave away our room even thought it had been paid. »

When we arrived we, and several other couples, were told that there were no rooms in the hotel for us. All had paid for their rooms before arriving. We were told we would have to find our own rooms and they would not pay for them. We had to contact the company the next day to get our money back.

    2
« Don't expect to get to your room before 3PM »

I arrived at 12:30PM and was told that there were no rooms ready because the hotel was totally full the night before. I said that I would wait in the lobby and do some work on my computer until a room became available. What I was not told was that they will not assign any rooms until 3PM. I have NEVER been to any hotel in the world where the management was so stubborn about the time that they assign rooms. Every other hotel that I have stayed in has assigned the rooms as they became available. I will never stay at nor recommend this property to anyone that expects to get into their room before 3PM

    « Nice hotel »

This hotel is lovely. Our room was spacious and clean. My only complaint is that we needed to leave our car there while we went on a cruise and they charged $5 per day to do that. I've stayed at many Best Western hotels and have never had to pay to keep my car there. I think it is a rip-off and will never stay there again because of that.

    « GOOD CHOICE »

The room was very clean and comfortable and I will stay there again. The breakfast was not good. The taxi ride was $16 or you could wait for the shuttle but it usually takes almost an hour. Lobby was nice and we order food in for dinner. good experience overall, just dont count on a good breakfast

    « Comfortable night sleep before Cruising..but.... »

Lets start with the positive and go from there. Check in went well, staff was very pleasant. The good things I noticed once we got in our room was that the bathroom was very clean and had been updated. New shower curtains, sink..etc...our bed was very comfortable and mattress and bedding all new. T.V. was also fine ( flat screen wall mounted ) what bothered me and made me want to leave my shoes on was the terrible condition of the carpet. It was severally stained and almost thread bare. Worse then the carpet was the window curtains. They were so dirty and stained that it wasn't possible that the staff could have missed it. We had a good night sleep but I couldn't get rid of the "dirty" feeling that the room had. They did provide a breakfast and shuttle which both we had no problems with. Our shuttle was a bit late but they are dealing with a huge volume of people so very understandable.

« Will never stay there again! »

The cleanliness of these rooms are horrible. Took 2 calls to front desk and then a visit to front desk to get cleaning products to have my toilet cleaned. It had urine on the rim...they were looking at me and saying that they had no house cleaning and I couldn't get another room as they were all booked. Had a pill on the floor and sunflower seeds beside my bed. Way understaffed and it took 25 minutes standing at the bar just to get a beer.

    « Bad Experience »

We reserved this hotel for the night before we left for our cruise. Shortly after we went to the room they had assigned us, another couple tried to open the door with their key card. The desk had assigned them the same room as us. We went down stairs to see what was going on and ended up being moved to another room. While we were at the desk we mentioned to them that we had reserved a king room which is less expensive than one with two queens. The first one we were given had two queens. They moved us to another room and the new room also had two queens. The next morning when we checked out, we were charged the higher rate. We showed the manager on duty our email with our reservation and the quoted price for the king room. He told us that he would credit us $20 but that it would take 5 to 7 business days for the credit to come through. That amount of time has passed and no credit has shown up so far. The provided breakfast is supposed to begin at 7 am. When we went down at 7, the overflowing trash from the night before had not been emptied and some of it was on the counter top where the food and breakfast plates were sitting. Trash was touching the plates on both the sides and top. The juice machines were empty and there wasn't any hot food. About ten minutes after 7, they brought out the eggs but nothing else. About twenty minutes after 7, they finally brought out the rest of the hot food. Our toilet was clogged first thing in the morning. My husband called down to the front desk to have someone come up and fix it. They told him someone would be up shortly. We waited quite awhile and then called down again. I finally used the rest room in the lobby. After quite some time, my husband went down to the desk in person to ask why the toilet hadn't been fixed. They handed him a plunger to fix it himself. One elevator wasn't working all evening. The other elevator was working but was in complete darkness--no lights whatsoever.

    « Shuttle was iffy »

This hotel is a decent hotel for staying pre cruise. We opted for the $10/person shuttle to the ship and that was great. The shuttle from the airport though was not as nice. I phoned as soon as we got our baggage and I was put on hold for about 10 minutes. Then I was told that their shuttle only runs every hour (on the hour), but I should be ok because I fit into that time. It took awhile to the shuttle to arrive and I actually had to phone a second time to confirm if he was actually coming. As a travel agent, I will not recommend this place because of the shuttle from the airport. Every hour only??? The hotel itself was very nice and comfortable. The breakfast was decent, but not enough space for all the people. We sat out in the lobby area and ate our food.

« Great location with easy access but some problems »

My family booked a room more than a month in advance. We chose a room with two queen beds and requested a rollaway bed to accommodate my wife, myself and two adult sons. A couple weeks prior to our trip I emailed the hotel with a reminder about the rollaway but never got a reply. When we arrived I was told by the front desk person "we can't put a rollaway in that room". This was the first we heard of a problem with the extra bed. If we could not get the rollaway someone was going to have to use a hassock and chair as a bed. My wife went back down after seeing the room and complained to the front desk but to no avail, finally asking for the manager and explaining what was going on we were offered a room with a king bed, a fold out couch and a rollaway for our previous price. A few hours later we returned from dinner and a look around town to find no rollaway, it took three trips to the front desk to finally get it delivered. Checkout the next morning was very lengthy as there was a shortage of front desk help and many cruise passengers trying to leave to make their ship. This hotel has many positives but needs to have its staff better trained in dealing with customers, you shouldn't always need to speak to the manager.

« BEST WESTERN PLUS Fort Lauderdale Airport South Inn & Suites »

The room and bathroom were clean, but there was an odd musty/mildew smell in the bathroom. I feel like I was put into a room which isn't used much. The walls were bare, there was an odd small table and chair in the corner where it looked like a desk had been, coffee supplies, but no coffeemaker and an iron, but no ironing board. The hotel is right of off I95, but the entrance is not clearly marked and and hard to find. The entrrance looks like it is for a nursery that is next door not for a hotel. They advertise a bar, but it was not open the nights I was there. In fact, it looked as though it wasn't used. Overall, I was not impressed especially for the price!

« Layover hotel between cruise and flight home »

For a day with more than ten ships in port, only having a single person work reception and another taking phone calls was not adequate. This hotel says it's within walking distance of shopping and restaurants (no restaurant on-site) but you need to cross multiple streets of six lane traffic sometimes with no sidewalks and in the mud. First room they gave us (we booked two queens) had one queen and a pull out couch. They did move us though. They advertise free airport shuttles but they don't start until 6:00am and we had a 6:30 international flight. We asked for a rebate on the room or partial voucher for the cab but they declined to do that. Room was suitably clean and had a fridge and microwave. Bathroom door lock broken. Would not stay here again

« All about charging you extra money »

We booked this hotel for a one night stay before departing on a cruise from the Port of Miami. They advertise that they provide transport for cruises (I understood there would be a fee as we were boarding in Miami.) So upon check-in, with a lady who didn't even greet us, let alone smile we said we would need transport to the dock. She looked annoyed that she would have to make a phone call to schedule it, then informed us that it would be $80. When I questioned why such a high fee, when we had stayed at other Fort Lauderdale hotels and only paid $25-30. Well I'm assuming they get a kick back from that transport company as it was way more expensive than any other hotel charges. Also during check-in, I have always been made aware of amenities offered by the hotel such as pool and gym hours, none of which were told to us. Then we went to the bar and wanted to order draft beer, we were informed they were only getting foam so we would need to buy the $2 more bottles in my opinion, good customer service would have been to offer us the bottles at draft prices since it was their issue. I will say the rooms were clean though. When we checked out, we were again greeted by blank unfriendly faces. The location is terrible, if you did want to go elsewhere the only option was to walk across a major highway to a Cuban restaurant the only thing local. I will never stay at this hotel and will highly recommend that none of my friends or family stay their either. Stay somewhere else, there are many really nice hotels in Fort Lauderdale, this is not one of them.

« Very Happy with this Hotel! »

We stayed at this hotel on January 9, 2016, before a cruise out of Miami. The hotel free shuttle from Fort Lauderdale airport happen to pull in just as we got to the area, so we were more than pleased with this service! We were given a complimentary upgraded upon check-in, and had a lovely room on the 4th floor with no noise from the freeway, and our room was clean, and had an extremely comfortable bed. What more could one ask for? Everyone was friendly and helpful that we encountered. The only issue we had was that the magnetic key would not work the first time, nor the second after I went back to get it reset. On the third time, a lovely young lady, Lizabeth, accompanied me to our room and made sure it worked. It did! We did not take part in the free breakfast, so I cannot comment on that. Check out was smooth and easy. We have this hotel booked again for next January, as we enjoyed it very much. This should speak volumes in itself. We will keep our fingers crossed that next year I will be able to give them just as good a review!

« First time for everything »

Door lock malfunctioned and took over 4 hours before they could find someone to get us back in our room. They did give us a nicer room to use during and after the lock out. They also reduced our room rate charge. The first room definitely showed signs of Florida moisture issues with black caulking in the bathroom and looked a little worn out. Had a good breakfast and appreciated the convenience of a free shuttle from airport and shuttle ($10) to the port.

    3
    « Not much »

We stayed here before taking a cruise. The staff was overwhelmed with travelers and the facility was inadequate for the volume of guests. The room was clean but not in the best shape. Breakfast was poor and too crowded. You can do better with a little more distance from dock and airport. We used uber to get around which was better and half price of hotel shuttle.

« Close By for Cruise Ship Port »

Hotel offers free shuttle from airport every hour on the hour. Having called at 10:35 a.m. we thought great only a 25 minute wait. Van came by at 11:25 (25 minutes late). Not a huge problem but kind disappointing start to our holiday. It was situated in an area within walking distance to a lot of shopping malls and restaurants which was great. Hotel also offered a free hot breakfast which was reasonably good and a shuttle to the cruise port for a reasonable price. This not a hotel that we would stay at long term but is acceptable for overnight stays going or returning from a cruise. Hotel doesn't offer dinner but there is an excellent Cuban restaurant across the street that is reasonably priced.

    « Very nice hotel »

The rooms are quite large with a sofa and large ottoman and an occasional chair. Lots of seating to invite friends to visit you in your room.for seating. There is a fridge and microwave in the rooms. The beds are very comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast. There is a pan outside pool with loungers and table and chairs. Aldo, there is a lift for anyone needing assistant to enter the pool.

« One nighted before our cruise »

In a nut shell this hotel is simply worn and dirty. The staff seemed fairly decent but it was evident once we arrived in our room the Best Western Brand didn't care about the condition of their hotel. The room had an over powering and almost uncomfortable scent of Febreeze or some other type of aerosol scent spray and the mix of that with the mold and musty smell was horrible. The floors were well worn and quite disgusting, there were stains on everything from the lamp shades to the curtains and the walls. I'll give the maintenance dept an E for effort on their paint job to hide the mold on the walls though. It's also obvious from the dust on the top of the tv and desk it hadn't so much even had a wipe down in the past few days. We were disgusted and were hesitant to even lay our bags down. We immediately asked for a different room. We were given a different room on the main level. This room was a bit better but the strong musty smell of mold and mildew still lingered in the new room from the window a/c unit. There isn't much you can do, it's on the side of the i95 with not much else around, we felt trapped until our shuttle arrived the next morning. It was simply a pillow to lay your head on for a few hours until you could get out of there.

« Crowded and Busy ... but great staff »

My wife and I stayed at this property immediately after our Caribbean cruise. We needed to stay one night because a delayed flight home. First of all, readers should know that the property is located near the cruise-port and airport. However, it is also located in a light industrial area, so there isn't much to do while waiting for a flight or cruise. This hotel must be very popular with those tourists who have cruises as part of the vacation itinerary. It's very crowded, and the lobby becomes very congested with people who are waiting for shuttle transportation to the cruise-port or airport. The breakfast room is also extremely crowded. It's really too small for the number of people who choose to eat their breakfast here. Despite the crowding and congestion in the lobby, I would like to recognize two front desk employees; - Daniel and Alfonso. These two people were very accommodating and understanding of our personal and unique needs. Our flight had been delayed and they allowed us to stay far after the 11:00 AM check-out time. Thank you Daniel and Alfonso. Finally, our room could have been cleaner, but it was a large room with full-sized refrigerator, stove, sink, and cupboards. The bed was also very comfortable.

« Very Busy Hotel - Great Staff »

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Plus Fort Lauderdale South Inn and Suites after we had completed our Caribbean Cruise. We needed to stay because our return flight had been delayed. We found the hotel to be very busy and crowded. It's high season in Southern Florida. This hotel really caters to the pre and post cruise clientele. We found the check-in staff, particularly Daniel and Alfonso, to be very friendly, understanding, and efficient. They allowed us to stay at their hotel "well past" the posted check-out time. (Our return flight had been delayed.) Winter travelers need to understand that the lobby will become very crowded during check-in and check-out times. The complimentary breakfast is even more crowded. The staff does its best to accommodate all of its customers, but patience is required during the winter season. Finally, I would like to acknowledge that this hotel recognizes those patrons who are members of the Best Western Rewards program. We received a small welcoming gift and a room upgrade. Thank you Best Western Staff.

« Disappointing experience in every way »

Lesson Learned: Don't waste your money. Go somewhere else even if it is a little more expensive. Details: My friends and I booked rooms at this hotel due to its proximity to the port and the fact that a port transfer was supposed to be included. Upon arrival, the hotel staff was friendly. They offered to hold my luggage because I arrived before check in time. I was promised repeatedly that I would get the first room available since I was the first person to check in. When I returned from my quick shopping trip, I was given a room key...to a room that was already occupied. I had to trek back down to the front desk and was assigned to another room. Nothing other than a disbelieving chuckle was offered. Additionally, the room that I was assigned to--the second time-- smelled bad. There was also a rolled up hair net on the floor. (According to the cleaning staff on the hall, it must have fallen off of her head, though she still had one on.) The air coming from the AC also smelled bad--different from the general stench in the air. I called down to see if there was a shaving razor available, and was told yes. When I got to the desk, I was told they did not have any razors. When we were planning to arrange for our transport to the pier, the front desk girl said you had to sign up in person. When we did, the front desk gentleman did not say anything about a price and we believed it to be complimentary, so we were surprised when told we needed to pay for the service the next morning. When we walked up to the transfer representative, she told us firmly that the transfer would be at 10:00 and we were 8 minutes early. This was even more maddening given the port transfer van was 45 minuted late. Apparently, it was held up by a train--which probably follows a schedule, but who am I to judge? The driver was great, but by then we were so annoyed we didn't care. The entire experience was a rather disappointing start to much anticipated trip with friends.

« Cheap but dirty and disappointing even for the price point »

I stayed here one night, January 27, because I had a 12-hour layover. Even that was too long. Even though the hotel is priced decently I don't think it's worth it. My hotel room was VERY dirty. The carpet is stained all over the place, the light fixtures (lamps) had some sort of dirt encrusted on them which I think could fairly easily have been cleaned with just a little bit of effort. The air conditioning barely worked (and I like it even in the winter because of the humidity outside.) The bathroom shower/tub appear very dated along with the shower curtain. I will say that the front desk employees are fairly pleasant and there is a free airport shuttle which is a bit of a redeeming factor--but definitely not enough to make me ever even consider staying at this hotel again.

« NOt worth the money, stay somewhere else and pay a few dollars more. »

relatively close to the airport. When we arrived at Fort lauderdale airport we called for transport as we were instructed to do. We were informed it might be a wait of 30 to 45 minutes. We waited 45 minutes and at that point we jumped in a cab and spent $30 with tip to go just a few miles. Check in was chaotic with a mob scene at a tiny check in desk. Only two employee's were on duty behind the desk. check-in took ever 30 minutes. The room was clean and more than acceptable. In the morning we went to the lobby area for the complimentary hot and cold breakfast. This was like nothing I had ever seen before. Unidentifiable things they told us were eggs, no bacon or sausage. They ran out of food and most of the guests were complaining that they ended up with yogurt and a cookie. We had paid the hotel $20 to transport us to the cruise terminal. Bedlam took over with incredible confusion so much so that ti took of 30 minutes to load the bus. Be smart and stay somewhere else if you are planing on going to the cruise port. We wasted $30 on a cab which they refused to pay for. Horrible place!!!!

« OK hotel - beware of I-95 facing rooms »

Stayed at Hotel for 1 night, business trip. As a business-oriented customer what does one want - a comfortable bed, a quiet room and a good breakfast to start the day. the good - the bed was indeed comfortable. The terrible - The room facing I-95 was anything but noise-isolated. You can really hear the traffic off I-95. In addition, the air-con is old and... noisy. So... after some complaints I was moved to a non-smoking room on a ... smoking floor. Although being very smoke conscious the room had no smoke smell - which was fine. That solved the I-95 problem, not the air-con noise. And to the breakfast, regular continental, no frills, although they did run out of hot cups for coffee - had to improvise with plastic juice cups - not recommended on a regular basis.

    « Answer that phone »

This hotel has a pathetic system for calling for shuttle from FLL. Not the way to start your vacation after enduring a long international flight. I called the hotel about 20 times the recorded message made no mention of the shuttle and when directed to press a number to reach the operator it rang and rang until it timed out. Asked to speak to management the next morning but there was none available. I had no way of knowing that the shuttle was making a continuous loop .It would have been helpful if the recording had specified this. This was confirmed when the phone was finally answered. Lugging pre cruise luggage with a cel phone to your ear for over an hour soured what would have otherwise been a positive hotel review. The shuttle driver was great !

« Beware credit card scam »

Nice hotel, but upon checking in there was a notice on front desk warning that hotel employees will never call guests' rooms asking for credit card numbers. I've never seen that before. Sure enough, 30 minutes after checking in, a well-spoken man called our room, identified himself as Mark Evans, the hotel manager. He apologized that they were having computer problems at front desk and asked for our address, phone & credit card number. We reported it to front desk & they confirmed it's a scam. But in a big hotel, how does someone know who's checking in to which room when? Pretty sketchy.

« Will Never Go Back Unfortunately »

We stayed one night at this hotel on January 9 2016. We (my husband and I) were very disappointed with the hotel even before we got there. I emailed the hotel in advance to confirm that they had a reservation for us and to find out how the shuttle works. I was only told how the shuttle works. I flew in from Canada and didn't want to get there to find out that the reservation had not been confirmed. After 3 emails about it I still did not get an answer but luckily there was no problem checking in. The shuttle took an hour from the first call (there were several calls placed to the hotel from the airport) to arrive. We were shocked to find out that the hotel is less than 10 mins from the airport :( No explanation as to the hour delay.... The check in went smoothly and they signed us up no problem for the ride the next day to the cruise port. $10 per person and there were several departure times to choose from. The room: smelled VERY musty, carpet VERY worn, VERY plain room, unclean bathroom as I found a pubic hair on the floor behind the door and the mirror wasn't cleaned from the last person that was in there. We did not walk around the room barefoot at all. The sheets thank goodness looked clean and smelled clean (yes, i smelled them). Bottom line - will never be returning. Super expensive for what it is....over $300 USD a night for what I would expect to pay less than $100 for. Disappointing to say the least. Not remotely worth the money spent.

« Very nice Hotel in great location »

My wife and I stayed here on our final night before returning home from our 2 week vacation. We wish we could have spent more time and look forward to staying here when in the area in the future. The rooms are very nice and the staff friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was excellent and there was good WiFi coverage which was also free. I think the best part was the location being close to Ft. Lauderdale Airport and Port Everglades were a lot of guests stayed before embarking on the Cruise ships. Highly recommend this BW location.

Go to another hotel. Very poor customer service. two hours waiting for shuttle from Airport to hotel. Finally took a cab! Only good thing was shuttle to Cruise port! I guess they knew when the entire hotel was leaving and they would have a riot on their hands if they didn't get their guests to the port! I booked a taxi just in case we did not get a place on the shuttle to cruise ship. I would look for another hotel in the area.

« strongly suggest going elsewhere »

We arrived at the front desk and observed Lizabeth who was assisting a group of 3 people. After waiting about eight minutes we took their places at the counter. Lizabeth did not look up from the computer, make eye contact or smile to acknowledge our presence in her vicinity. We were checked into the hotel with our reservation in due course. She jammed two key cards into a small blank envelope and told us where to go for the elevator. During the course of the interaction, Lizabeth did not show appreciation for our business. Once we tore the envelope to release one of the key cards, we were greeted by a cold guest room. The sheer curtain was torn and the HVAC was blowing a constant stream of cold air. The temperature was set to 60 degrees. We adjusted the system to heat the room and a blast of heated dust assailed us. The bathroom was decorated with mold and mildew. I found one small hair moisturizer and a shampoo that had been used by a previous guest. No body lotion was present in the room. I tried calling the front desk, housekeeping and the reservations from the guest room phone and my cell phone. No calls were answered. I went to the front desk to retrieve missing items from the bathroom and Lizabeth did not apologize for not answering the phones or my inconvenience. The room condition was fair but the service was not acceptable. Overall not a good experience based on the cost. Condition and service I would expect in a hotel at half the price.

« Close to Airport and Good Value for the dollar »

Nice and clean and well maintained. Very convenient for arrivals and departures from Ft Lauderdale Airport. Plenty of free parking. Helpful and courteous staff. OK breakfast buffet; plenty of choices, but in general the quality was typical of 'fast food' items.

    « Not a Pleasant Stay (Dirty) »

We have stayed with Best Western in the past 2 years all across the country and have never been disappointed till this stay. Room prices jacked up because you are here to catch cruise. Room floor looked liked it hadn't been vacuumed in a week or two and the overall appearance of the room looked like housekeepers took the day off before our stay. I was disappointed because there were 3 other couples cruising with us and we recommended this hotel and all complained about cleanliness of their rooms. The only good thing to say was the breakfast and breakfast staff was nice and stayed on top of keeping everything nice, even though big crowd eating breakfast.

« Prepay for best deal »

Lovely and clean hotel with hearty breakfast, great for overnight before a cruise, its just a little pricey even when you pre pay. They have a good shuttle service and lots of people are using it so remember to prebook the night before, they have a good system for getting on the shuttle. They also have a shuttle from the airport and you do not need to call it, in fact they do not answer the phone so just wait it will come and takes about twenty minutes. A taxi works too.

    « Location, location, location »

I expected better from a Best Western Plus. It advertised completely renovated, but the room carpet was stained. Otherwise, my room was fine, and everything worked. I was disappointed in the housekeeping service--none the first morning, and the 2nd I didn't get washcloths. Breakfast was fine--the usual hot and cold items. For a one night stand before a cruise or flight from FLL, location makes this hotel OK. It's literally 5 minutes from FLL (I didn't use the free hotel shuttle--other reviewers complained about it).

    « Money grab! »

Convenience to the cruise port is all this hotel has going for it. To be clear, we are experienced travelers with normal expectations. We stayed at seven different hotels on this trip and loved every one of them except this one. First off the price. If your cruise leaves on a Saturday or Sunday the rack rate jumps to three hundred dollars or more per room. More than double the usual rate. Exorbitant to say the least. We were told we had the three best suites reserved for us (not requested by us). The hotel smelled like pesticides. The room was dated and the ottoman was badly stained with an unidentifiable liquid. That bathroom was not really clean looking. Definitely not fresh. Our friend's bathroom was dirty. Toilet had not been flushed by whomever was in the room before them. Even with the high price of the room we had to pay for a shuttle for the five minute drive to port. They don't provide one back when you return. You hire a taxi. They charge nightly for your car parked in their lot while you cruise. I'm ok with all of this if the room was reasonably priced and the staff eager to please. We paid around $100-$139 for the other six hotels and the rooms were spotless, the staff friendly and they actually appeared anxious for our business. This hotel knows they've got us where they want us. Nearly all hotels we contacted told us they double (or more) the rate for cruisers. We've taken many, many cruises and have never encountered this before. The check in staff were busy and not very friendly. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Will never stay here again. Not that everything was bad, it just left a bad taste in our mouths. Will return to other chains we have stayed with before. If you charge higher prices, please provide higher service. It's only fair. Shame on the hospitality industry for allowing this to happen.

« Helpful staff but worn hotel. »

The hotel, where I pad $165 for a room , would be what I expect for a should be a $79 rate. We stayed her prior to a morning departure from FLL airport, which is close by. Staff was great, but the place needs a refresh. Everything is worn.

    « Nice »

The room was nice, Breakfast was good and hot, staff was helpful! Traffic noise ran all night and we could hear it even though we were on the 5th floor. carpet looked kind of dirty, but the room and bath was clean

    « Yuck! »

The room was not clean. The bathroom had hair on the floor as well as dirt around closet, mini fridge and dresser areas. Also there was a cockroach climbing up the wall that I had to kill on my own! I was also woken up out of my sleep because a bug was crawling on my arm. Would never stay here again.

« Very relaxing stay and great breakfast! »

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Staff very friendly and the chocolate chips cookies at check in was yummy. I arrived right after a van full of people. No problem there was a sitting area plus hot drinks while I awaited. The breakfast was hot and also offered a shuttle to the airport every hour. this had everything I needed.

    « Good Pre-cruise Hotel »

Great location for pre-cruise travel. Able to setup transfer to cruise ship with hotel for a nominal fee. Staff was good and rooms were ready for check-in. Breakfast was crowded so don't wait too late if you plan on eating breakfast

    « Okay except »

The place was great on checkin. We came in very late and checkin was fast and easy. However, the next morning when we went down for breakfast everything was gone by 9 am. We waited over an hour and a half for a shuttle to the airport. Every time I would ask the staff (2 people) they would say it is the next van but when it would come they would tell us they were only going to th Orr not the airport. We ended up taking a cab and paying for it ourselves. So much for the free airport shuttle.I think the problem was too many people. Most everyone was going on a cruise so they had priority. We will never stay there again for that reason. The room was clean and comfortable however.

« Excellent Value Near the Beach »

The Best Western at Dania Beach, Florida, a couple of miles south of the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport, is a significant value if you are looking for excellent accommodations in that east-coast-of-Florida area. The hotel's airport shuttle is masterfully operated to ensure you get to your early morning return flight without any difficulty and the rest of the hotel staff are professional, courteous, and helpful. Like most American hotels these days, the breakfast, though efficiently offered, leaves a bit to be desired---but it's free, so one can't ask for much in that regard. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well looked-after. Ii's a real bargain in southern Florida, only a few miles from Miami.

« Good place to stay »

The hotel was in a good location, we had to flight out the next morning at 4. The airport is only 10 minutes maybe from the hotel. Dania Beach is only down the road from the hotel as well. The first room we checked in to smelled really bad of mold or something. The front desk was able to get us into another room on a different floor that was much better. It however had no remote for the tv and didn't have all the pillows on the bed. The housekeeper in the hallway I asked for help didn't speak English so I had to go the the front desk again who sent someone up with what we needed. The rest of the stay was uneventful.

    « nice place »

We stayed here for one night before going on a cruise. We called the hotel when we arrived at the airport so that they would send the shuttle. They said one was on the way. We ended up waiting about half hour. Check-in was fast and the room was nice with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was good. You have to sign up for the shuttle to the cruise port and there is a fee. I think it's $10 per person and they leave every half hour. You have to sign up for it. There's a small fee to leave a car there during the cruise. It's much cheaper than parking at the port. Overall it was a nice place, but we had a group rate because we were traveling with family and had booked several rooms. The normal rate seems a little expensive.

« Come On! You can do better than this! »

The room reeked of a moldy smell the second we entered the room. Looking around, we could see why. There was mold running along the ceiling and blotches of it on various places on the walls. The rugs in the halls were filthy. We were changed to another room on a higher floor by a wonderful desk clerk named Calvin who walked with us to our second room. We stopped off at the first room to show him why we were so disgusted. The second room was better but not by much. I cannot attest to the quality of every room but the 2 rooms we saw had draperies and rugs in desperate need of cleaning. Calvin did give us complimentary shuttle service to our ship for the next day and breakfast was okay. I am not a fan of double beds. We would have preferred a queen or larger but we had 4 people and needed 2 beds. Doubles were all that were offered. Location was near Oakwood Mall (which has several restaurants, a movie theater and many stores, but you need a shuttle to get there. The hotel's shuttle only gets you to and from the airport. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn upon our return from our cruise. What a difference! They even had a complimentary shuttle to Oakwood Mall. Perfect ...since we didn't have a car!!! But for Calvin, we were extremely dissapointed with this Best Western....generally, BW is our hotel chain of preference but we will be changing that in the future.

« Good place to stay »

This hotel is an excellent value for the price. The location was convenient to the airport. The breakfast was good. My only complaint would be that they need to make it clear that they only provide a shuttle to the cruise port. They do not pick up there.

    « Need to improve house-keeping & maintenance »

Stayed here due to proximity to FLL airport. I am a regular Best Western customer and this one was one below par! * Bathtub was full of sand from previous guests! How could they miss this?! * Bottom shelf in bathroom was covered with a layer of dust * Refrigerator was off and smelled accordingly * Carpet had some stains * Bathroom fan very noisy.

« Great hotel. Pricey during peak times. »

It was a good hotel. Clean, seemed pretty up to date. Very busy. Difficult for staff to keep hot breakfast stocked in morning. I would stay here again. The location is very convenient to airport and FLL cruises. Airport shuttle is free every hour on hour. $10 per person fee for FLL.

    « Extremely Disappointed! »

I am not normally the type to complain, but my experience with the Best Western Plus in Fort Lauderdale has been nothing short of miserable. We landed at FLL at 7:50pm, and immediately called the main desk at the hotel to let them know of our arrival so they could send their complimentary airport shuttle. The phone rang constantly for about 2-3 minutes before being disconnected. We continued trying to call 5 subsequent times, with no answer. By this point we were waiting on the curb with our luggage. We decided to call the general Best Western customer service number, and after doing so, we finally got connected with the hotel. They then told us it would be 20-30 minutes before the shuttle would arrive. The hotel is 2 miles from the airport. After spending over an hour at FLL, the shuttle finally arrived and took us to the hotel. The shuttle driver was probably the one positive thing about our experience. Upon arrival, the staff was, for lack of a better word, "meh." Very careless, lacking basic customer service skills, and seemed to have little or no concern with their customers' experience at the hotel. We checked in and went straight to our room. The hallway was extremely humid/muggy after stepping off the elevator. But the worst part (and most important for us) came when we walked in our room. The room was about 80 degrees when we first walked in. We turned the A/C down to minimum temp to get it going immediately. After over an hour, the room had still not cooled whatsoever, and you could feel that the air coming out was not cold. To us, there is nothing more important than being able to have a cool room when traveling. We could have spent less than half what we did at a cheap little hotel down the road and would have had a cool room! We called the front desk and they informed us that maintenance had already left for the day, but they would send a front desk employee to inspect. She had no knowledge of how to fix the unit, and consorted to offering us the ability to change rooms. The room we paid for was a king suite, and they only had a standard King room to move us to. We asked what the new rate would be (since the room type would be downgraded) and she said it would be the same rate! To add insult to injury, we were already paying an increased holiday rate for the room. Another issue we discovered was a leak coming out of the bottom of the toilet, so there was a puddle of water in the bathroom floor. It's just been one thing after another; this has been the worst hotel experience we have been through. We have been thoroughly displeased at the complete lack of service, and will be crossing Best Western off our list of potential future accommodations when we travel. I would recommend someone at Best Western do a thorough review of this hotel. Your name is being dragged through the mud with this one.

Room was good and comfortable. Walking distance to restaurants. My only concern was black growing on the shower wall. I am not sure if it was mold or someother substance. Convenient to cruises and good transportation.

« My Home Away From Home »

This Particular hotel location is so convenient in every way. Near to the Ft. Lauderdale Airport, near to shopping and restaurants. We really love this hotel because it is as comfortable as home, that's why we call it our home away from home.

    « Stay before a cruise »

We spent one night here before taking a cruise. At the airport had lots of trouble contacting the hotel for a free shuttle pickup. Had to call 5 times before anyone picked up and was put on hold for 10 mins. Apparently between Christmas and New Years is one of the busiest weeks of the year. Shuttle was quick and efficient as was reception. This being a BW Plus we were surprised that there was no restaurant in the Hotel. Luckily there were many restaurant options within walking distance a indicates in the list provided at reception. The room was nice and large and the king bed comfortable. The free WiFi worked perfectly all over the hotel. The free breakfast was extremely busy but the eggs, potatoes and bacon were great. The also had waffles, toast, pastries, cerial, coffee and juices. They had a tough time keeping up with demand but with a little patience we ate well.

« Best Western? More like Worst Nightmare... »

Booked this hotel due to proximity to airport and advertised shuttle service. Arrived to learn shuttle is not available before 6AM. My flight departs 6AM so you can imagine our chagrin. I saw more Iguana's in Florida with better personality and customer service skills than the young lady who checked us in. Zero empathy, no offer to help with alternatives and of course no management on station. Room adequate size but not that clean and in need of updating. No restaurant on site and the continental breakfast doesn't begin until 7am. Much better options than Best Western. Burnt once before with this chain and swore never again. Should have learnt my lesson.

    3
« Not up to Plus par »

Rooms need a bit of rehab; for a Plus location, was not impressed. Location is close to shopping area (within walking) for last minutes items if going on cruise, etc. Love Best Western overall, but should have not been priced for a plus hotel

    4
    « Stay was fair »

The hotel and the personnel on checking in were great. The main problem we had was that we asked for a 4:00A.M. wake-up call and it never came. Luckily I had my phone so we got up in time. When I asked about it the man at the desk had no record of a wake-up call for our room.. Scary if you had to count on that to catch your flight on time.

    « Another 3 star stay! »

Stayed here last April for the same reason as this one. Pre-cruise. Staff was helpful. Shuttle was a little late due to high volume at airport. Room was clean and comfortable. The reason we came back is comparably, this hotel has delivered the best bang for your buck. If you want a glamorous hotel with high dollar amenities, this hotel isn't for you. But if you want all the perks like shuttle cleanliness breakfast etc. for good value, this hotel should suit you just fine. ??

« Disgusting rooms and treatment. »

Checked in for 2 nights, 2 rooms, first room, the bed sheets did not appear to have been changed, second room smelt of chemicals, our friend suffers from Asthma and it was already affecting his breathing, , after less than 10 minutes went back to reception to tell them of our findings and asked to check out and to receive a refund, this was REFUSED by reception staff and Manager and we were charged for the first night for both rooms. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, disgusting treatment.

    « Nice hotel »

Arrived here on 12/4 for a cruise on 12/5. Free shuttle from airport to hotel, $10 per person from hotel to cruise port. Check in was easy and the staff was friendly. The room was quite large and clean, the bed was comfortable and the bath room was clean with ample towels but a bit scratchy. House keeping realy should know what fabric softener is used for. If you don't arrive with a car you have a major problem when it comes to eating. I was rather surprised that a hotel of this size did not have an on site restaurant because there are only 3 restaurants within walking distance. A cuban restaurant, a subway and a family owned sub shop. I never saw the Las Vegas 8 across the street, but the cuban restaurant could have taken over it's place. If you want to eat in your room there is a delivery pizza and grill place, just ask the front desk for the menu. You get a free buffet breakfast not much different from the dozen or so best westerns that I have stayed in that have a free buffet breakfast just get there early or you will be eating standing up. The dining area is WAY too small for the number of guests. Will I be comming back? Only if I drive a car, not that the hotel is bad just that I don't like eating in my room and the nearest decent restaurant is over a half a mile away in an unknown neighborhood.

« Dirty and not wanting to help »

Very poor customer service and the room was dirty. I have had to call back multiple times to request my receipt and find a tracking number, every time I call, the employees don't want to help and tell me to call back later or state they are not able to help. It's been a week since I stayed at the hotel and I have yet to receive my receipt or my tracking information. I have talked with multiple people and I've emailed a representative with no help. Today I was told that a manager will call me tomorrow. The furniture was stained and the floors were dirty.

« and you can park your car there while you travel for $5 per day. »

The staff was welcoming and helpful. Room was clean, large, and quiet. The free van to the airport was on time and comfortable. We also used the van on our return. Driver was friendly and experienced. .. Breakfast had a varied menu, coffee was good. The value was good- especially with the perks of parking and travel to and from the airport.

« Good one night stay »

We booked this hotel for our overnight stay before our cruise. I base my rating for hotels of similar class. I'm not comparing this hotel with a luxury hotel. We had booked for a family of 3 long time in advance. Here is the list of pros and cons. Pros: Free shuttle from airport Large room Free breakfast Plenty of plug ins close to the beds Easy and quick check in Helpful staff Close to restaurants Cons: Musky odour in the rooms Not enough toiletries (3 of us and only 1 shampoo and 1 conditioner) Not enough coffee in room(only 1 coffee pod) Only 2 sets of towels I would stay here again but for one night stay. We found shuttle to Miami Port a fraction of the price that the staff were recommending. I hope you find this review helpful and feel free to ask any questions.

    4
    « 1 night before cruise vacation »

I only stayed here one night because I was going on a cruise out of FLL. I picked this hotel because it was close to the airport, had a good price, and most importantly offered an included hot breakfast which was very satisfying. 1 night here before a cruise is perfect. $10 shuttle to the cruise port.

    « Overnight Connecting Stay »

For an overnight airport connection it was a good stay. Price was good and amenities were good. The room was clean but had a musty odor which was prevalent. Staff were good for answering questions and service. Breakfast was good the next day for our long flight and that was a nice amenity. I would recommend the hotel for a one night stay. There were also some restaurants about a 20 minute walk from the hotel and it would have been nice to have a map printed out on the back of the info sheet they provided with the names of the close restaurants.

    4
    « Gone down a bit... »

I stay here for convenience, not ambience, but it has gotten a bit more run down since my last visit. It is a good value and there is transportation shuttle to and from airport, so who can complain. If you don't care for waffles (my daughter doesn't and I have gone gluten free), then there is little reason to get up early for breakfast (overcooked sausage, an assortment of cereals and fried eggs, toast). We slept in after the first day and just had some snacks in the room (like the convenience of a fridge and microwave). There is coffee available in the lobby all the time, so that was much appreciated. Not sure if we will stay here next time...there are some nice new hotels right next door...may give those a try

    2
    « Just ok »

This hotel is just ok, but not worth the price they charge. This is the worst best western I've stayed in. I've stayed in others that were very clean, quiet. For what you pay for, this hotel and it's location is just "ok." It's right off the freeway on one side and the other side there is new construction going on, so it's not quiet. The room's themselves were not bad. The bathroom was updated, so that was good. However, the furniture needed replacing and looked bad. The carpet in my room was stained and not cleaned. The air conditioner didn't work properly. They allow penske moving company store their trucks in the back, so parking was limited. Some guy, (apparently he was a penske driver), was swearing at a gal and calling her names out by the pool, and the front desk staff did nothing to diffuse the situation nor ask him to leave the property. The shuttle driver was 2 hours late for pic up at the airport. They don't answer phones when u call down to the front desk for a wake up call. U will b ignored. So, it's up to u to figure out how to set up the alarm clock in your own room. The only thing good was the breakfast. It's a good choice of hot and cold food. Front desk assistant management staff was rude, impolite and not professional.

    4
    « Convenient »

This hotel is very convenient if going to and fro the airport. The shuttle is free and works out well. It is a pretty new hotel so it is clean and the wifi is free. The breakfast time was only until 9a. We felt they should have extended that until at least 9:30. We felt rushed.

    3
« Close to Project Site »

Hotel was good value for the money. Good location for access to the work site by the Ft. Lauderdale airport. Easy on off of the expressway to many locations. Would be a good cost effective hotel for the cruise center.

    4
    « Shuttle Driver »

The shuttle driver to and from the airport was especially helpful and friendly. We were without any transportation and needed to run an errand and he worked us into his schedule, stopped and waited for us, and took us back to the BW without being late. Very nice. Don't remember his name - my bad.

    « Cruise Hotel »

We stayed two nights, pre/post cruise. This is a good hotel for that purpose. Very close to port and airport. I was with 16 people and the service was good. Leak in the lobby ceiling, but all in all a good place to stay if you are cruising out of Fort Lauderdale

« Covenient, Clean and Good Breakfast »

We arrived at about 9:30 PM after a very long day of flights from Vancouver, British Columbia. Availing ourselves of the hotel's free airport shuttle, we walked into the lobby and were greeted by a very friendly and courteous Daniel, a reception staff person. It's late in the evening and usually, by that time, staff are tired and anxious to go home but not his man. Hotel reception personnell could learn a lot from the way this man greets the guests. Our room was clean, as far as hotel rooms go, and the bed was comfortable and with an exposure at the back of the hotel, where we were not spared traffic noise - a consideration when you visit here. Traffic noise isn't an issue here alone as all hotels in the area are expoxed to high volume traffic so ask for a 'room at the rear'. We chose this holel because it was close to both the airport and cruise ship terminals and because of its proximity to shops and restaurants. Though some restaurants may be a bit of a hike, none are that far away as to pose a problem. We chose the Cuban reataurant called Las Vagas Cuban Restaurant, just across the street (though it was across the street, we had to go farther afield to a traffic light in order to get to the other side otherwise one takes one's live into one's hands attempting a crossing at other than a crosswalk.). In the event of our return to the Fort Lauderdale area to catch another cruise, something very likely to reoccur, we shall stay here again. Remember what it is, it's a hotel with a nice bed that offers its guests a very adequate complimentary breakfast. If you come, do say Hi to Daniel though he may not be here to greet you. His mannerism and exceptionel customer service will certainly assure his upward movement through the Best Western Chain. Richard

    « A bit different. »

We ended up arriving at the hotel really early and when we walked in we could tell right off that this was a major place for cruise people to stay before and after a cruise. The ladies at the front desk would NOT check us in before 3 so we waited patiently. Finely they told us we could check in and when we got up to our room it was quite clear that the housekeeping staff wasn't finished though they weren't around. The floor hadn't been vacuumed and there wasn't enough towels in the bathroom. But by then I was tires and since the bed was clean and the room wasn't a totale mess I just decided to make the best of it. The next day we left on our cruise and 7 days later we came back. This time the experience was much different. We got to check in early and the room was great. The bed was comfy and there was plenty of towels in the bathroom. Yay! The breakfast was also very nice. Getting something to eat outside the hotel was a bit challenging. We did find a really nice deli down the street though. The place was called Mr M's.

« Worst Western - Avoid this hotel at all costs! Stay at the nearby Hampton Inn instead! »

After our one night stay here, my wife referred to it as the "Worst Western." We booked our room through booking.com. Upon arrival, our reservation had not yet been entered into the system and had to be retrieved. This was the case for other guests who had made their reservations through hotels.com and expedia.com. It took extra time for the hotel staff to retrieve the reservation. Fair enough. The rooms were not ready at the stated check-in time of 3 pm. When we did get our room about 30-45 minutes later, the vent fan in the bathroom was missing and the vent cover was hanging open. The towels were dirty. At least the bed was comfortable. However, upon returning home, I discovered that our credit card had been charged for multiple nights, even though we only stayed for one night, The first time I called, I spoke with a clerk named Roberto. He simply told me thy had only charged me for one night, and to check with my bank. I called the next day and spoke with the assistant manager Naisha. She was very helpful, but had two nights charged to our credit card number instead of one. In addition, she had our credit card number affiliated with a different (fictitious?) name, who was a no-show. As a result, we ended up calling our bank to cancel our credit card and order a new one. We contacted Best Western corporate about our experience, and ultimately received a 30% credit on our stay. We should have stayed at the nearby Hampton Inn!

« I would never recommend you stay here »

We stayed at this hotel for a week. This is possibly the dirtiest hotel in the chain. They barely ever cleaned the room, left dirty towels on the floor. We always had to ask for clean towels. They didn't do the basics for what you would expect a hotel would do. The beds can be made better by a 5 year old. Blanket left on the floor to the side, sheets half tucked. I was extremely disjointed. The breakfast isn't anything special. The eggs were possible the worst I have ever tasted. The bathroom is very tiny. Don't waste your money, there are better hotels ia m sure in the area.

« Great place to stay near FLL »

We booked the Best Western for the night before we left for a cruise out of Miami. We arrived very late and the staff member who checked us in was very courteous. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was a step up from the budget hotels with hot food available, although there was no bacon or sausage available the morning we ate there. We would definitely stay here again!

« Great for parking and shuttle to airport »

Room was nice, comfortable and clean. Bed was comfy. Had a problem with noise across the hall but the hotel staff took care of it immediately. The free breakfast was good. The airport shuttle is super convenient- you can leave your car in their lot for $5 day while you travel. Antonio's Pizza and Italian restaurant is fairly close and delicious.

    « Great pre-cruise stop »

My husband and I stayed at this hotel prior to a cruise. We were picked up at the airport by a free shuttle and we took a paid shuttle ($10per person) to Port Everglades to board our ship. It was very convenient. The room was clean, the bedding was plush and we had an excellent breakfast. No complaints whatsoever of this hotel. We would definitely stay there again.

« Don't stay at Best Western Plus Fort Lauderdale »

They have a "policy" that even if a room is ready, they will not let you check in until 3PM!!! The General Manager did really not care at all about your dissatisfaction with their "policy" .Weary travellers had to sit in the lobby and breakfast room until 3PM, which by the way turned into 3:30!!!

    « Great Hotel »

We were going on a cruise and stayed here the day before. Excellent hotel no issues, friendly staff great price compared to hotels in the area. Rooms small and only fit 4 adults no sleeper sofa or other room expansions. Breakfast was excellent one of the better hotel breakfast. Hotel is a known cruise stay spot due to the number of guess in the lobby on cruise day. food options in walking distance.

« Excellent for overnighting to catch a ship »

This property is an excellent hotel to catch a ship at the Port Everglades pier if you need to overnight in Ft Lauderdale. Restaurants and other activities are a bit of a walk but they have a breakfast in the lobby area.

« FT LAUDERDALE SOUTH AIRPORT HOTEL- BEFORE CRUISE »

Definitely a good place to stay if going on cruise or need something with free shuttle to airport. Friendly staff, they got us arrangements right away for cruise transport for $10.00 per person. Rooms were clean, lots of pillows, nice but small outdoor pool which was open late. Breakfast had a little extra, eggs, sausages, yogurt, waffles, juices and fruit, muffins, etc. Very clean hotel with very friendly staff, keeping on my cruise list!

    « cruise port hotel »

Excellent hotel near Ft Lauderdale cruise port. Good service & very nice, comfortable rooms. Very helpful staff that provided good directions to the local area attractions. Also close to shopping mall & many restaurants, some that offer delivery service. Getting to the cruise port from the hotel was very easy. For those not driving, the hotel does offer a shuttle to & from the airport and for a small charge to the cruise port.

Hotel was not very clean. Breakfast was not that great. They asked for an imprint of my credit card to keep for a few days for "incidentals". I refused to give it since they had my card on file for the reservation. They wanted 50.00 cash instead which I also refused. had to speak to the manager who finally let it go, Hotel is in a sketchy part of town. Did not feel safe walking around to look for a restaurant since the hotel did not have anywhere to eat. The shop had a few frozen food items for the mircowave. Disappointing.

Bad room ventilation get rid of the carpet!..plastic untensils at breakfast? are you for real? take of that 3 star rating!. One reception at the desk taking calls and doing other duties at the same time while checking is unfair to the staff and customers.

    « Good stay & price »

The staff was very friendly, hotel very clean, shuttle on time and efficient. I didn't get to eat breakfast but staff very nice about offering coffee/tea before my early departure. A nice place to stay for a quick overnighter

    « Not real great »

Customer service poor - not helpful/friendly or patient. Never received the WI-Fi password, many of the breakfast items were out with staff standing around - garbage in dining area over-flowing. (The shuttle driver was great though) Front desk staff tried to double charge our credit card - not a great experience.

    « Great value »

As was a little concern about the location adjacent to I95 but the sound proofing was very effective. Staff was helpful and friendly--even other guests seemed unusually cordial ! Enjoyed figuring out the waffle maker at breakfast but was successful.

« Great for airport or pre cruise hotel »

Very good location for access to cruise ships and airport. Don't stay here if you wish to go into Fort Lauderdale or surrounding areas. It is difficult to get anywhere other than by walking around the area, which is not very interesting. There is a large strip mall within walking distance which has some good stores, K-Mart, Ross for Less, etc. Also within walking distance, for dining, there is a Chipoltes, urban type cafe and the Moonlite Diner in front of the K-Mart.

« The super breakfast saved them »

The wait EACH time we needed service at the counter was always too long. They have no bell for you to ring and must not have a video or window in the back for the employee to see when someone was at counter. The view isn't much to look at (right on interstate), but was convenient when going to airport super early. The elevator was slow and paint job in rooms were horrible!! But the business service area, lobby and breakfast were outstanding!! It saved them from flunking.

« Don't rent here based on Free Airport Transfers »

This was my 2nd stay here, solely based on hotel name and advertised free FLL airport transfer. The first time was November 2014. Flights were delayed, arrived FLL around 11:30p. Hotel transfer can was not available, so hotel refunded cost of taxi. This time, my flight arrived at 3:00p on a Friday. After waiting for two (2) hours outside in the heat with others also waiting for the same van, it finally showed up after multiple calls to the hotel. Hotel kept saying "20 more minutes". The driver stated that this hotel only had this one van, but the airport had 4 terminals. ONE van. Really, Best Western? Next time I stay in Fort Lauderdale it will be at the Sheraton or the Marriott. They have many vans to pick up customers.

« Best Western Plus thumbs down »

Did not have free shuttle (as most hotels do) from Cruise ship port Everglades to hotel. Waited longer than other guest that arrived after us before room was ready. Web site said free shuttle to shopping malls which they did not supply. We requested a room with King bed which we got but it was a handy cap room. It was a dark room that felt dirty because the carpet was filthy and worn out. I have paid a lot less money with a lot cleaner rooms. We will never stay at this Hotel again and doubt if we would book at any Best Western Plus again.

« Average hotel with great breakfast and free parking »

The Hotel was clean- updated and fairly new. Definitely somewhere you can lay your head comfortably. My TV had no sound for 50% of the channels. I reported the problem but there was no follow up from the Hotel staff. I could probably have been more proactive and continue to call them but I was on a mini vacay celebrating by B-day. Just didn't want to waste the energy. Really, the staff should have followed up with me. The room was cleaned nicely but then the soiled linen was left on the floor. Listen things happen but I think the Leadership should have more than apologized and offered something off the stay. that's jut me! Breakfast was delicious and there was a variety to choose from. Overall it is not a bad hotel , just a few mishaps that could have been handled differently.

    « Excellent experience for sleep/park/ride »

Everything was flawless from reservation to stay to shuttle back and forth to Ft. Lauderdale airport. We were VERY plesantly surprised because we'd used another hotel 2 years ago for same purpose with disastrous outcome. We WILL STAY HERE AGAIN, and we WILL recommend it to others.

« Advertising of shuttle service was not accurate »

There was no shuttle service upon landing at 10:50 p.m. and the once/hour shuttle had just left when I needed to go to the airport. Therefore, I spent $50 in taxi fares that I was not expecting and this was very frustrating to me!!

« Six Amazing Nights Love It. »

My fiancé and I spent six nights here two weeks ago. I must say that this is by far the most amazing place we stayed. The location is really great for shopping and eating. We even walked around the first day. The staff is amazing especially the front desk personnel, they are all very helpful, I remember some names, Wanita, David and Roberto, the lady who checked us in was great. The hotel is so clean, and smell so nice. Our room was huge and so comfortable, huge bed, flat screen on the wall. Housekeeping was great, very clean rooms, bathroom, mini fridge, microwave and great towels. Business center and gym. Unfortunately we were there to shop in Fort Lauderdale, we did not get to enjoy the pool. This is by far the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. From the hotel grounds to the building, elevators and rooms are really clean. We will definitely return there again. For the front desk personnel who's name I forgot, see you all next time and I'll write your names down. Continental breakfast included. Great place.

    « Okay for price »

Needed one night in hotel after 6 hour drive before a 7am flight. Staff was great and friendly, but room could have been cleaner. It was very noisy with what sounded like a party next door possibly doing drugs that we could smell. Not a restful night before flight. However, overall, good hotel with good bed for the price.

    « Best Western plus 1 night »

I went to the Hotel because I had an early flight at the Fort Lauderdale Aiport the next morning. The hotel was clean, people at the front desk were really nice and it was a fast check in. The beds are really confortable and perfect to rest. The only to things I noticed is that for breakfast they use plastic plates, and forks, which I didn't like, and the food court has no variety to choose from. Then, I had to carry my 5 baggages to the shuttle because no one helped, but they have a free shuttle to the airport that departs every hour so this makes the ride to the airport really easy.

    « updating needed »

There was mold on the walls and ceiling.Very bad odor in the rooms, Carpet needs to be replaced through out the hotel. Very displeased. Would not recommend the hotel until they make needed up dates. Hotel nice from the outside they definitely did not spend any time or money on the rooms or the carpet that needs replacing. We did not mention to staff had to stay just over night waiting for our flight back to New york.

« Don't waste your time. Stay somewhere else like the Hilton or Hamptons. »

I agree with Darryll below. These guys flat out lie. I called before I booked to make sure that they had airport shuttle for 11pm. They said yes and to go ahead and book. So I did. Then I called the day before arrival to make sure I can get a pickup at 11pm, and they assured me I could. Then when I landed on September 19th and called for a shuttle, they tell me the shuttle service stops running at 10:45pm. The absolute perfect start to our honeymoon cruise trip. I know its a small thing but don't waste your time if you don't have to. You can get better service elsewhere for the same price. Its just not worth the hassle. Go with a trusted hotel.

« One of the Best Rooms I've stayed In. »

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel as part of a road trip of Florida. I had stayed at this hotel in 2013 when going to a Miami Dolphins game. The King Suite on the 5th Floor was an amazing room. Entire Kitchenette that even had its own sink, very comfortable bed, excellent TV. Had a Love Seat as well. The Pool is somewhat lacking. (quite small) But everything else was very good. They offer a safety deposit box at the front desk as well as I wanted to keep cash and my passports safe when going out. The Breakfast was good as well. The hotel is at at a very central location off of the I-95 off of Stirling Road. Very close to Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood Beach.

    « Outstanding Experience »

I really cannot say enough about this property. Everything was top shelf, from the staff at the front desk to the perfection of our sleeping room. The location couldn't be better and I look forward to returning here on my future visits to South Florida.

    « Great place to stay ..... »

A great hotel with really low rates . Nice clean hotel with lots of upgrades going on all new rugs and stuff. Staff is always very frendly . Plus there is a really good full breakfast that's free . There is plenty of hotels around the area but I'll always stay here . Employees and Staff keep up the good work , place seems to be running perfect ...... Paul Barrasso. (Boston Ma)

« A very disappointing stay at the Best Western Plus Fort Lauderdale Airport South »

Employees flat out LIE, room smelled like mold is my other title... but to start: I researched prices and before I booked a reservation I called the hotel directly and spoke with a girl her name was either Angelica or Angelique, I asked about the hotel shuttle and was told it stopped running at 11PM I explained my flight was coming in pretty close to that and I may not make 11PM so that I could see what other options I had. She told me just call when I land and they would make arrangements and send the shuttle. So I booked the reservation and the day of my flight I called before I even boarded my plan just in case what i was told was incorrect and needed to make other arrangements to get to the hotel. I spoke to Daniel this time and told him my flight was getting in just after 11PM and he stated to me to call and the shuttle would come. Now I arrive at FLL, get my bags and call the hotel at 11:05PM and was told by Daniel the shuttle stops running at 11PM and it only runs from 6AM to 11PM. This was very frustrating because I told him I called and talked to him maybe two hours ago and he said that he told me to call when I landed , he told me he didn't realize I was coming in after 11PM and I would have to catch a cab , I was pretty upset and told him i clearly said i would be there after 11PM and that I talked to someone weeks ago that said the same thing. He started speaking over me, maybe he was busy and irritated but I could sense his bad attitude and he told me the hours twice and I hung up. So I catch a cab to the hotel at my unplanned cost, if i would have had accurate information i could have caught super shuttle or gotten some other economical form of transportation. The biggest problem is i was told the wrong thing twice and it cost me money. Now to check in. So we arrive at the hotel and the person at the desk didn't greet us, he was having a conversation with someone on the phone it was most probably for work but to ignore us walking in was very uninviting, it was maybe 7 or 8 minutes before he could get to us. Once we got checked in the room smelled moldy.. i called down to ask about a humidifier and was offered the option to switch rooms which i really appreciated but it was late and i was already having a long night so i declined and just stayed in the moldy smelling room. i don't think i will be staying at too many best westerns in the future. I usually stay at marriott brand hotels and this was just a seemingly great rate so i went with it but i don't think i'll make this mistake again.
