Booked here via spa breaks for me and my partner for what was advertised as ‘simply spa day' but the word spa should not be used here! The only part that made it feel like a spa in anyway was that we was provided with robes and slippers. First doubts upon arrival was when we walked into the spa reception and there was 3 young girls at the desk, loud club music was blaring and they was all chatting amongst themselves, not the type of smart impression I would've expected. When filling our lunch options she told us we had to pick a main & dessert (it just said 2 course lunch on the website) my partner is not a dessert fan and wanted a starter, very misleading. The lockers in the female changing rooms were all broke, it seemed we had to bring a padlock or use the keypad which made no sense and another lady was also struggling to work out how to use them (why not just sort this issue?), when we sat down at the pool area a bunch of screaming kids and families came in splashing and diving, it seems that you are just amongst the general public in the pool. The loungers were so hard they killed your back, I feel like I have left bruised. The sauna was out of order and sectioned off meaning we couldn't use it. The male changing rooms smelt of urine and needed a good clean as it had damp and the water from the air conditioning was leaking onto my partners head while he was changing. There is no jacuzzi just a whirlpool that is pointless and it's just making cold water swirl around you. The only thing that changed all of this for us was the restaurant experience, I cannot understand the bad reviews for the food as it was absolutely delicious and portion sizes were great I would give them 5 stars, the staff at loft18 were really friendly and we received great service, when we explained that my partner did not want a dessert the lady happily sorted it for us, in-fact the food was excellent and all the staff were presented nicely. The toilets were the complete opposite to the spa area and were spotless, why couldn't the entire building be like this? It is a shame as we was really looking forward to our day, we paid £100 to use a public swimming pool and have lunch when we was led to believe we was going to have a relaxing spa day, we was very wrong.

Really disappointed with our stay. The 1st room had mould and paint chipping over the floor..and cobwebs! We were then moved to another room...slightly better. No hot water in the morning for a shower. Spa reception..not helpful, swimming pool cold, area around the pool dirty, sauna was out of order. Would not recommend

Absolutely amazing stay. Staff are super nice & friendly, especially the breakfast manager. The hotel was spotless, beautifully presented & food was very good. The grounds are well kept and the Afternoon Tea was stunning. Bars & restaurants were so nice, warm & welcoming. Will definitely stay again. Highly recommended!!!

We met up with my cousin for a 2 night stay for our birthdays. The entrance is a bit underwhelming but actually the place is beautiful. It was a shame the weather was so drab! But it didn't dampen our spirits. The bar and restaurant areas are lovely but the most impressive thing is their staff! Wow we have not experienced such lovely service in a long time. Almost without exception the staff were outstanding but particular praise goes to Calum in the bar, Archie and Nicole in the restaurant and Chloe on reception and the staff in the golf/spa reception. The food experience in the bar area was a real surprise - sadly this was not replicated in the restaurant but don't let that put you off. Their offer is appealing and the breakfast is outstanding. We had a really lovely stay and hope to return when the weather is more favourable.

Absolutely outstanding we were just blown away. First time coming to the Windmill Village Hotel for Mother's Day with my mum and we absolutely loved it! The hotel is so clean and spotless throughout not a spec of dust anywhere. The staff members professionalism was second to none they were so polite and professional. I really appreciated when the manager and bar staff created personalised mocktails for both myself and my mum even though they don't sell them which was highly appreciated by both of us. The food was incredible we've never tasted anything like it and the fact that 3 courses were only £28 surprises me as we've been elsewhere and paid 3x that but it puts everywhere else to shame. We cannot wait to return for many more meals and events this is now our favourite place!

Had a fabulous Mother's Day meal with all of my family in Loft 18, fabulous service, fabulous meal. Had a lovely afternoon. Thanks to all of the polite and attentive staff. Look forward to returning soon to sample some of the other menus. Keep up the good work

6 of us visited here for my mother in law's 80th birthday. We all had a 3 course Sunday lunch. Everyone was completely happy with it. The food and presentation was amazing, the service was top notch and the setting was wonderful. Thanks to everyone concerned for delivering a fantastic occasion. We will certainly be back.

I stay in a lot of hotels at home and abroad and other than having a room and a bed, there was little else that was advertised at the hotel that was available. Showers and tap water was freezing cold in all rooms. Communication prior to, and during, the stay was woeful. The pool was closed for maintenance, but no advance notification sent to guests before, yet it was to health club members 2 weeks prior - so no choice to look for an alternative. Do not believe any answers provided by the hotel prior to arrival or booking. I confirmed before booking that my wife and 13 year old daughter could have a manicure or pedicure, which I was confirmed was fine. On the day, they refused to give the treatment to my daughter. On top of this, socket & usb power outlet did not work in one of the rooms. Breakfast was average at best.

The room was not the spec we paid for. Lots of amenities missing. Two beds pushed together but one had a super soft mattress and one had a super hard mattress. The steam room smelt musty and had a wee smell to. As did the jacuzzi. Food on the first night in the bar was so Saltley I couldn't eat it but the restaurant food was fantastic.

I had the most traumatic experience I have ever had at any hotel I have ever been to in my life and this was down the the aggressive and intimidating Graham and other members of the night reception staff who were on duty when I stayed. Firstly the good. The young lads on the bar, I think Harry and George were fabulous. Really helpful and great service. As were the restaurant staff and day reception staff. The reception night staff on the other hand should never overlook a hotel. Ever! After going to bed on my first night and having to complain 3 times after visiting reception in my pyjamas as the phone in my room didn't work, that the man in the room next to me had his tv on very loud and was being very loud on his phone. I was told that 11.30-12 midnight wasn't unreasonable and I would need to move rather than them asking him to be quiet. I went back to my room and the neighbour had gone to sleep. I decided rather than upheave all my luggage etc that I would stay. The following night after a lovely meal out I arrived back and nicely asked Graham if the neighbour was noisy again could I use the key to the other room to sleep in the other room. He told me NO and that I had the opportunity to move the night before and I didn't do that was my fault. It soon escalated with my colleague telling him he was very rude and aggressive. After my colleague left he started being ruder and more aggressive and threatened that he would personally remove me from the hotel. I couldn't believe the way he spoke to me. He then came across the reception desk into my face and started sniggering. I ended up crying and wanting to drive home as I didn't feel safe in the hotel. My colleagues convinced me to stay which I did. I had two awful nights of not sleeping which affected my fibromyalgia really bad. Intimidating and being aggressive towards hotel residents not to mention a lone woman is absolutely disgraceful. I did take it up with reception the following morning, and wrote a formal complaint. Apparently it was investigated as I asked them to check the cctv footage from behind the reception. My company use this hotel on a regular basis but I certainly would not go back should Graham still be working there.

Filthy, chef didn't show up to do our breakfast so we ended up at a conference hungry! My room had a blood stains, the bathroom was full of mould and stains. The staff on reception couldn't get the manager so there was nobody senior to speak to regarding it and just got told my only option was to email

Stayed here for a reunion with a friend. Had interconnecting rooms in the old exterior part of the hotel. They were a little dated and dark, so could do with modernising. Bed was really comfortable. The sauna and steam room settings need reviewing... sauna wasn't very hot, and other regulars using the steam room were splashing water on a sensor to make the steam turn on. Food in Loft18 was delicious but cold. Cold feta croquettes, cold mash, just warm enough braised beef, served on cold plates. I noticed the fried eggs plate warmer at breakfast was cold, so I told a staff member, who discovered it was unplugged. Guests in the 2 hours before me had been eating cold eggs. Surely the restaurant duty manager should check these things before service begins. Overall, the buffet breakfast was excellent. Staff are lovely.

I'm writing this review as it's been sent again from the hotel to fill in. I don't like being pestered for reviews. The hotel was clean. The breakfast was dry as it's a buffet and the residents bar staff at night was just shear rude.

great rooms especially the heat and warmth during a cold January stay. Delightful even meal able served by a most efficient Salih Alav. Haggis Bon Bons followed by the Gnocchi was very good. My company books us all in here and I can see why. Recommended.

Attended the New Year Masquerade party to see in 2024, with friends. Had a great night, the DJ was excellent, creating a real party atmosphere. The meal was delicious, hot and served in an organised way, thanks to the events manager. The room was clean, spacious and we had a comfortable nights sleep. We also enjoyed the full English breakfast the next day, although that was a little challenging due to the numbers arriving for breakfast at the same time. Overall a great evening and will probably return next year.

From start to finish our wedding was amazing. The booking process was made so easy with Olivia's help she made us feel comfortable and took into consideration all our requests. Robert was amazing with making sure everything we wanted was noted and fed back to the ops team in preparation for the big day. On the day Antonio was absolutely incredible, he made everything so easy for us, taking all the stress away. Told us where we needed to be and helped whenever we had any questions, it was all done so smoothly thanks to him and his amazing team. The food was beautiful, the DJ provided by the venue was brilliant. We couldn't be happier that we chose here and can't thank them enough for such a perfect day. Mr and Mrs Dunn

Booked this hotel for 1 night before flying from Birmingham airport. Very easy to get to from the M1, check in was very easy and the receptionist was very helpful - booked a 4.30am taxi for us and gave us all the information we needed regarding dining, WiFi and where to park. The room was comfortable and quiet. The taxi arrived at 4.20 am and check out was very simple. We returned to the hotel after a week and just got in the car and left. If you are flying out of Birmingham I would recommend the hotel.

Absolutely shocking how this building is still in use. Housekeeping are rude and disrespectful, my purse had moved to the other side of the room while I was out. I complained to a lady called Fiona, she had no regard for my belongings and was quite rude about her staff. I had the sign up requesting no housekeeping today. Beds were good but room was minging. Cobwebs a toenail and grime all down the shower. Next on to breakfast, we were here on Tuesday, you would expect mostly business people for breakfast, yet the staff we're constantly talking in corners, eating food in the buffet and generally messing around, the women in charge just shouted out names all the time, She was rude and aggressive. I asked for porridge waited 45mins to be told by a young lad there isn't any today. I then tried to complain to her as staff had been messing around for that 45mins, she began to raise her voice and stated staff were having a meeting. Staff then hid throughout the rest of my time in loft 18. Night time in the restaurant is much better. The man was amazing sorry I didn't get his name. We then tried the pool, well a poor old cleaner nearly fell in the pool when talking to her she said it's not her job but they are making her do it. Shame on them! Dressing rooms need a bit of attention but useable. We were going to have a spa treatment but was told by a girl that you need to book in advance, I wish I'd know that I would have booked in before I arrived. During the night our telly gave up a young man showed up, wasn't expecting much from him but he was polite, gentle and so respectful towards my stuff scattered over the room. He actually fixed it with a smile then went on I didn't get his name but after the drama with reception with regards to the telly this young lad was like a breath of fresh air. All in all standards are dropping in this building 98% of staff are rude most of the time and the building needs a mix up.

I booked a superior room for one night. Lovely comfortable bed, lovely extras. However, furniture very worn and dated, very old fashioned and in need of updating. Bedside lamp wasn't working so room was very dimly lit. In the bar, staff definitely need training in politeness. No lemon for gin and tonics, no ice. Asked for a Bacardi and coke and was given a poor substitute of white rum. Was told if I wanted Bacardi I would have to go to the downstairs bar, why? Receipts for drinks are not itemised, totally unacceptable. Ordered food and was told there would be a twenty minute wait which ended up being fifty minutes. Breakfast was piping hot and lots of choice. Overall for what I paid for one night I have had much better. Would not consider this value for money

Booked for a wake and had high hopes as we wanted the perfect place for our dad. Private bar was shown on walkabout prior to booking but surprisingly was not included on the day. We were told it was going to be open. It was a good trek to the main bar, not ideal for elderly guests as there were a lot of stairs and the bar staff had no trays for us to use. Staff/waiters were thoroughly miserable, never cracked their faces throughout the day. Food was average … fish and chip cones were not in cones but just in a bowl! Everything was stone cold as if it had been standing for a while before being bought through. All in all the event was mediocre. Nice room but I wouldn't rush back. There are plenty of ‘nice rooms' about but with better food and service with a smile. Customer service makes all the difference especially on a difficult day like a funeral.

As other reviews, hotel is tired and overdue a refurbishment. The early Halloween cobwebs, we could have done without. When we arrived, 15min early or so, was told the rooms were not ready and to wait in the bar. Sounds promising, but not sure when the room had last been cleaned. I was told, go right and room is on the left. Felt a lemon going back and asking a third time, 'I will show you.' Well, when shown, the receptionist could not find the room either, and had to ask other staff. Remote control partially worked, needed batteries. No hairdryer, unhappy wife. Wish I had checked the shower, but should you need to? Bumped in to a member of staff holding a tv remote, I said, ours doesn't work either. Mentioned about the hairdryer and she offered to bring her own! We said no but truly above and beyond – promote her! Early evening, we had a good time in the swimming pool with my son age 7 who wanted to revisit Sunday am before we left. He was awake 6.30am so we went and the pool was deserted. ‘Sorry, no children before 10am'. But there is no signs or warnings anywhere? ( I could have had a lie in. ) No, the pool for members only. We would go as soon as any arrive? –No! So one disappointed son – went for a walk and explore, noticed the pool was still empty 30 mins later. So went to the room of a shower before breakfast and no hot water. Breakfast facilities and other staff were good. Complained, as I checked out – receptionist couldn't care less. ‘I'll get the maintenance staff to look.' Somehow, reading previous reviews about no hot water, I doubt that. Left Very disappointed. Management will have one less family to worry about in the future, but they won't read this so who cares.

We spend a few days here with our family. From booking, rooms and breakfast staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable, as were the pool and spa areas. Breakfast had a variety of choices, fresh and tasty. A big thank you to the manger Kay who went above and beyond to answer questions and be helpful. We highly recommend the Windmill.

staff are lovely and do their best but theres no getting over the property needs a refurb & they struggle with staffing levels on the housekeeping front. i didnt like 10% being added to the restaurant bill as service charge for 2 people, shouldnt happen, makes you feel awkward. staff are paid a decant wage surely?!!

Hotel is pleasant enough with naturally cooled rooms, adequate bathroom and dining facility. Dining chairs are however grossly ucomfotable causing back ache to prevent a 1' gap when fully tucked in to where your knees are striking the central support or your peer opposite. The Breakfast area is cramped, leading to the breakfast crockery being difficult to find; hidden under counters and in illogical places. Whilst there is a lift, hotel is not accessible as there are stairs to go everywhere including dining facilities and into reception where the lift is located. Numbers on the lift do not correlate to numbers on the floors/rooms. Being located on a dual carriageway with no crossing points, you must have a car to visit if you don't want to use taxis or public transport. There is a bus stop serving the hotel, but lack of footway to this bus stop suggests the hotel don't care for it. Busses take about 20 minutes from central Coventry and due to the dual carriageway you cannot cross to the opposite side to return to Coventry by bus in less than an hour. The X1 will get you to Birmingham International station which can return you to Coventry or for onward travel. To summarise, Windmill Village hotel is a rather expensive business hotel which looks to date from late 1990s or early 2000s, only really suitable if golfing onsite or attending a function.

I like the Windmill. The rooms are clean and nice, the breakfast is good. You have a good spa -swimmingbpool, jacuzzi, sauna and steak and a new gym.. not to mention a golf course at a good price. The Staff is very friendly and helpful too !

Stayed over the august bank holiday weekend and had no hot water the entire time. No offer of any reimbursement or room switch, just given apologies and told to use the swimming pool showers. No better than staying at a hostel and considering we paid £170 for the two nights, I was expecting a little bit more customer service. We were told the manager would be in touch but this is yet to happen. Very disappointed given that we were part of a large wedding party and had to have cold showers the morning of.

I booked this hotel based on the website photos for the rooms, when i arrived, i was in a small lodge. I was disappointed with the size for a family room. It was quite dusty and this set off my sneezing. As soon as i walked in, it had a musty odor. There were no tissue boxes in the room, no notepads or pen to make notes. I made a visit to the hotel reception asking for a larger room, sadly nothing available. It was like staying in a motel, very dated and old fashioned. A few spiders in the room and gets very hot in the night. The hot taps were extremely hoot - be careful with children. I would not rebook this hotel in the future - not value for money staying in the lodge.

Booked an accessible room as my wife has mobility problems. Access was via a 7" step which meant I had to lift my wife in. Unable to use shower has there were no adaptions. Wife was unable to exit room following morning and we had to summon help from staff to assist me to lift her over step. Very embarrassing and undignified. Staff were excellent in responding to incident.

Absolutely stunning. Beautiful grounds, incredible views, flowers, landscaping. The interior is luxurious and very very classy. The room was a decent size with a comfortable bed. The gym was large, air conditioned and excellent equipment. A big surprise in general and definitely one the nicest hotels I've stayed in for years. İt makes a change to see a hotel with colourful classy decor. There is also a beautiful and very large outdoor seating area with many tables, sofas and chairs. What a place.

Visited this hotel for a two day family weekend break. We had two rooms. We booked a family room for myself my husband and my daughter and my step son booked a dog friendly double room. We chose the hotel so my stepson and his partner could bring their elderly dog. However it is not dog friendly. The dog was only allowed in their room and on the grounds and not anywhere in the hotel. At times we ignored this as the dog is small and quiet and no one noticed but they shouldn't advertise as dog friendly if you are expected to keep the dog in the room. The family room was actually a double room with a pull out sofa bed which my daughter found very uncomfortable. The patio doors out onto the golf course provided a lovely view. However this hotel Is off a busy dual carriage way and you could hear the road from the terrace. Facilities in the family room were for for two people only i.e. there were only two cups two glasses and towels for two people. I requested another cup and glass so that we could all have a drink but they never arrived despite requesting this twice. I even spoke to a house keeper and she just shrugged and said rooms were just set up for two people and walked off. The golf was good. My husband and stepson really enjoyed the course and the golf reception was very flexible and had trolleys and buggies for hire. The bars were busy with a good atmosphere and everything was reasonably priced. We had bar food a couple of times and it was nice and reasonably priced. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful but reception was not that helpful. The spa consisted of a swimming pool with integrated jacuzzi, a sauna and a steam room ( which was out of order). When we visited Saturday lunchtime the pool was very busy with small children and it wasn't possible to swim very much without bumping into a child with a swimming aid. The pool wasn't very clean either with a scum ring all around the tiles. Several lockers in the small changing rooms were broken and there were tissues on the floor. The gym looked very good and was quite large but non of the family actually used it. Due to not being able to cross the dual carriageway a trip into Coventry takes about half an hour as you have to go back up the dual carriage way and around the outskirts to get into the city. An Uber for 5 people from the hotel into Coventry was £25. Overall our experience was mixed. Lots of things need improving although some aspects were nice and enjoyable. We wouldn't visit again.

Very poor. Misleading information. Myself and my daughter booked in for an overnight stay to have a spa treatment. I rang and spoke to David and asked if I would have to book separately for the spa, he said no all the facilities were included. We arrived on Fri 11/08/23 and went to enquire about a spa treatment to find out it was separately and you paid separately for the spa and an extortionate price. The manager rang David to find out if the spa was included he said no but as we were guests he gave us a generous 10% discount...wow! We did not book any spa treatments! We went to use the swimming pool, we were not offered a towel or a lock/ key for the lockers. On the way back to our room we popped into reception to find out if there was any entertainment in the bars, no entertainment only on Saturdays. Meal prices extortionate we ordered a Dominoes in our room. We settled down to count the cobwebs above us and watched to the two spiders in the corner of the room. The next morning we discovered the toilet was leaking. We packed our things and I went reception to drop off the key, I stood there for a couple of minutes waiting while the receptionist played on her phone. I just left the key on the desk and left.

We wanted a central venue for a get together of a load of cousins from around the UK so Coventry seemed a logical choice and the Windmill looked like a good hotel to stay at. Leading up to the stay one of the cousins discovered by chance that there were some serious road works on the road that passes the hotel (A45) and that it was going to be closed on the day of our visit. A phone call was made and this was confirmed and instructions as to how to get to the hotel were given. What I do not understand is why this was not sent out as an alert to everyone staying there that evening? Email addresses and phone numbers are held at the time of reservation so it would not have been difficult to have done that. When the rooms were originally reserved my brother was staying who has the same surname as I do. Before the visit he decided to book and pay directly to the hotel and I therefore cancelled his room reservation via Booking dot com. When my brother checked in they said they still had a room reserved with his name on it which he told them he didn't need. When I came to check in the room that had been cancelled was mine - although I had cancelled my brothers room and had confirmation of this, the room with my name on it had been cancelled leaving the one for my brother still valid. It was not a problem reinstating the booking however how did this happen? Was it Booking's error of the hotels? My last complaint was to do with the restaurant. Originally there was to be 12 of us so I pre booked a table to accommodate us all. On the day we were down to 9 so I didn't expect there to be a problem. We were placed in a row against a wall which meant four were on one side and 5 were on the other. It killed any group conversation which was one of the main reasons we were together. It was pointed out to the staff and floor manager that there was a table with 8 setting which could have easily accommodated us however they refused to change the arrangement. The 8 seater table remained empty all the time we were there. We even found a larger circular table at breakfast in the morning in another part of the restaurant that could hold 12. My only assumption was that they wanted to keep everyone that was dining as close to the kitchen as possible to save time serving etc. Whatever the case I think it was a poor show not to response to a reasonable request. Other than those issues the hotel was neat and tidy with a good bar and the food we had was enjoyable. My brother and I had an enjoyable game of golf as well. If I were to use it again I would issue clear and precise instructions about every aspect of the stay to ensure I get what I expect.

Greeting from receptionist was very good and friendly. The room was lovely and cosy and clean. The wedding was great and the room for the dinner and dancing after. Could do with more staff in bar, had to wait long periods to get served. The food was good, I had fish and chips but thought the chef was a bit stingy with the chips! The plate was very lacking and I was still hungry after. I ordered a pizza from an outside shop which frankly was better value for money. I'm not going to hold this against them as breakfast made up for this and the service was very good from the waiting staff which included all of them. Really sweet and lovely Asian girl who was always smiling and ready to help. Didn't catch her name but she was a pleasure to see every morning. I stayed 3 nights and would happily stay here again.

I picked this hotel as a venue for our 10th Anniversary Wedding Vow Renewal on 14th September and I cannot fault anything at all about the day or the hotel. I was treated really well from start to finish! Bekie Munday the wedding coordinator made nothing too much trouble for the hotel and was patient and reassuring. The staff were really friendly and food was amazing! The room I had was lovely and clean and had a wonderful view of the golf course. The grounds are immaculate and hotel spotlessly clean. I would recommend 100% as a wedding venue or for a perfect weekend break! Thank you to all the wonderful staff that made or day fantastic xxx

Stayed here for 3 nights during a recent show at the NEC. What a mixed bag this place is! From the outside it looks wonderful, with manicured lawns, tended gardens and an array of amenities. But its the detail that lets it down. We ate in the bar area that was well furnished with nice decor, as well as access to an outside terrace. The selection of food and drinks was good but the quality I would say was average and lower than expected. And then to the rooms ...... the first room I had was in the main building at the front (above the kitchen/restaurant). A big room, decorated in an older style, with a nice size bathroom. An uneven floor and big soft bed, neither to my liking, and a tiny window looking out onto the flat roof, 20cms below! This also doubled as the fire exit route for the other rooms so didn't feel particularly safe, especially as the window did not close or lock. But the worse part was the unbearable noise from the kitchen extractor fan that seemed to be running continuously. This stopped at 10pm, as I was about to ask for a new room, so In settled for the night. Big mistake as the extractor started again at around 5:40am, at which point I dressed, went to reception, and asked to move rooms. No argument from the staff and I suspect this was a regular occurrence! And then to the next room. This was in the reception building, in the roof, with a Velux window. Great light and plenty of fresh air until the evening when you want the window open and the blind closed. As the blind is fitted to the window, with fresh air comes blinding light from the many floodlights around the grounds. Oh, and the remote didn't work and a bulb was gone. When I came back the next evening, the maid had left the velux wide open (or it had blown open due to the storm) and I was greeted with a room full of leaves and tree debris! On the positive side, the staff were excellent and did everything they could to retrieve the situation.

Stayed here for one night and have to say I was not impressed. On arrival, the reception staff were pleasant enough, but the next morning the girl seemed overwhelmed with having to deal with the public. Not sure if she was new or just uncomfortable on the reception but she seemed bothered by me asking her for directions or help with a taxi. I was staying in one of the wee rooms away from the main building, initially, it looked okay until I got inside. Very old fashioned, cold and dark. The bed was really soft, I sunk into it. Didn't bother me too much but for others with back issues, it may. The room was cold, and trying to get the heater to work didn't result in anything. There were several lights in the room that didn't work and the light switch positioning was very confusing. The bathroom was big, built for people with disabilities but it was cold and the furniture in there was rusty and very old. The room also had a damp, old, unaired smell to it. I kept my socks on while wandering around the room and the red dye from the carpet was on them by the end of the trip. The fire safety light in the room is neon green, so at night when you turned the lights off you had this big green alien ship looking thing shining in the room. In the morning when I woke, it was cold and again dark. The windows looked to only be single glazing and had condensation on them. The breakfast itself was okay but the staff were rude and unfriendly. Overall not a pleasant experience and not one I'll repeat.

We chose the Windmill village hotel because of its beautiful surroundings and the lovely wedding chapel We cannot say enough good things about the whole experience. Bekie Munday was a massive help and any small niggles we had were dealt with without any fuss. The whole day ran smoothly and Andy and the whole team were a credit to the hotel. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel for a wedding. Wish we could do it all over again

We enjoyed our stay. Got a good deal. All staff very friendly and helpful. Service in the restaurant was exceptional. Our room was clean and lovely, bed comfortable. Pool is nice. Steam room is a good size and sauna was good. Could have done with a separate jacuzzi not linked to the coolish pool. Cool bubbles! But all is nice in the spa area. We Lunched in the bar, really nice and generous portions. After a swim and relax, we had a 3 course meal deal in the evening. I enjoyed soup, sea bass and a lovely Bailey's Creme Brûlée. Ange's salad in her buttermilk chicken burger was on the turn, which we highlighted to the staff, and maybe a bit more avocado (she is insistent) the buffet breakfast the next morning was lovely. Good sausages! Attentive table service and tea top ups. Even though we didn't go for golf it look pretty good. Nice surroundings. Recommended.

I had my wedding taking place at the National Conference Centre (Motorcycle museum) on 8th September. I therefore spent the night of Friday 7th September and the night of Saturday 8th September (the night of my wedding) in room 109 at the Windmill Village Hotel. Unfortunately I will remember the stay at the hotel for all the wrong reasons as follows: 1. I had rung the hotel months in advance to inform them that I would like to have a photoshoot in the golf course grounds with my wife on the day of our wedding before the photo shoot. They had agreed to this but stated there were 2 other weddings that day and therefore the grounds would be available from 5 pm. I agreed to this. When I arrived on the night of Friday 7th September, I once again confirmed this with the lady at reception. Then on Saturday 8th September I went to reception to ask them to provide a golf buggy for us to go on the golf course, and was told they were unaware of us having a photoshoot and all the golf buggys were in use. Again, this poor communication between staff at the hotel was disappointing and caused more stress on our wedding day than there needed to have been. Thankfully one of the managers was able to organise a golf buggy and so we were able to have a photo shoot in the end but wasted time sorting this out, especially as we had a tight schedule and needed to be at the wedding hall to meet our guests soon after the photo shoot. 2. The night of my wedding, after I arrived back to the hotel following my wedding function, my wife and I very thirsty from the lights and photoshoots we had had earlier in the day. Each room at the hotel has a card stating that guests are each entitled to 1 complementary drink per night spent in the hotel, and that reception should be called to obtain this. I called reception just before midnight on the night of Saturday 8th September and was told by the staff that the offer only lasts until 23:30 and therefore I would not be entitled to this. On looking at the card in the room again, nowhere was it stated there was a time limit. This was extremely frustrating and I therefore drove with my wife to a 24hr petrol station to pick up some water on my wedding night. This lack of kindness and understanding by the hotel was extremely disappointing, and even though this is a small thing, it all adds up to make a very poor stay! 3. The taps in the room took forever for hot water to come out after the hot water tap had been turned on (> 1 minute), and the drainage in the sink in the bathroom was very poor so that water would build up in the sink after the taps had been turned on for 30 seconds or so. Almost to the point of overflowing from the sink bowl I certainly would not recommend anyone stays at this hotel for special occasions, and unfortunately I will now remember the hotel for all the wrong reasons on one of the most important day of my life. Extremely poor and disappointing – lack of understanding, lack of communication, and a sub standard room.

I stayed here on a Sunday evening as I was in the area for work. The place itself is beautiful & in a quiet location. My first small disappointment was the bed. I was thrilled when I saw a huge bed, however it was just two singles pushed together meaning I couldn't sleep in the middle! The main problem was the restaurant. After seeing many vegetarian dishes on the menu I had hoped that some may be vegan or adaptable. It does say on the menu “ask us about our vegan options”, or something along those lines. I asked the first waiter if the polenta dish is suitable for vegans to which he looked confused & said “I think it's pasta?”. He had no idea what I was saying so I asked another waiter who said he'd check with the chef. He returned & said “it is not suitable as it contains flour”. If that response honestly came from the chef then I am shocked. I explained to the waiter the difference between gluten free & vegan. In the end I said I'd just have some sweet potato fries, as I was too concerned at the lack of knowledge to order a full main. The manager of the restaurant then came to me & said I could order off the other menu if I wanted. I asked if I could have a pizza without the cheese, if the base was suitable & didn't contain milk. I did expect him to come back to ensure me about the base but he didn't. I was served my pizza & sweet potato fries & in all fairness, they were both delicious. I ate the pizza unsure if it contained animal products or not. If I had had a bad reaction (I haven't eaten dairy in 9 months) I would have complained big time. Luckily, I didn't. I live in a rural area of England & I would have thought a place in Coventry would be more accustomed to dietary requirements. In hindsight, I would have called myself a vegetarian with a dairy allergy because I find people take it more seriously, but why should I have to lie? I recommend training your staff better with more awareness to dietary requirements. I wish for my review to be received in a constructive way. I am not angry, however I won't be returning in the future.

Booked here as a treat on the way home from holiday in Devon, their website states this is a luxury hotel and spa, what a mistake! We were given a room above the restaurant at the front of the complex and experienced road noise for the whole of our stay, could do with some secondary glazing to help block this. The room was clean but tired, wallpaper has been pulled off the wall and carpet is very old. Chose the hotel partly because of the pool, which was good, but again the changing facilities are old, with black mould around the shower fittings and missing shampoo and/or body wash in each cubicle. The young lads manning the pool area were really helpful/friendly when we arrived but when we left were listening to music off their phone, which included choice language they carried on in their conversation to each other, not very professional! We were woken at 4am by the upstairs room walking around and/or guests leaving, floors are very creaky, and then someone attempting to open our door and then apologising for their mistake! We were then wide awake and listening to the continuing road noise. Breakfast was good but by this time we were extremely tired and fed up so made our exit as soon as possible. We should have stuck with Premier Inn and saved on the cost in the process!

The food is terrible, the worst I've ever had in a hotel. Service is terrible, food is tasteless and they charge quite a lot for it also. If you stay here - eat elsewhere!! I had steak - shocking. Cheap meat with under cooked chips and cold peppercorn sauce! I'm usually pretty easily pleased but this place is a disgrace!

We stayed in a delux room which had patio doors leading out to the golf course...We loved the complimentary fruit platter and fruit juice. The spa is okay could do with a bit of a revamp. We loved the breakfast very comfortable dining roon great breakfast lots of hot and cold choices Staff were all very corteous and friendly. Unfortunately we chose to eat in the cellar bar and the food wasnt great and we had to wait a long time for our meal to arrive. Saying that I would recommend this hotel for quality of rooms and lovely staff and wouldnt hesitate to book again very good value

Stayed 3 nights, as a treat by my friend. Very clean, traditional English room, which I liked. Bathroom very clean, piping hot water, scalded myself a few times. Dined in the Fairways restaurant, a little expensive, so didn't eat there again. The gym is well equipped to get in a hour or more exercise. Spa very good, need more loungers around the pool. I enjoyed the steam room and sauna. Treated ourselves to a back massage and facial. It was wonderful. Unfortunately our manicure/pedicure was cancelled due to staff shortage. Hotel staff attentive without being intrusive. Breakfast was good, decent selection to suit all. My only gripe is the hotel is located on a dual carriageway, so access is a pain, as you can't turn right when you leave the hotel. You have to go left, and drive up to the slip road, a fair distance, to turn around. I enjoyed the view, very quiet surroundings and calming.

We used the Windmill Chapel Suite for a family party. We were impressed with the waiting staff, the layout and the lovely room. Lots of the waiting staff helped us, getting more drinks for us for the beer bucket etc. All the guests enjoyed the food and some special diets were well catered for. Very disappointed with the Windmill Village Hotel. I booked my wedding with them for the 4th August 2018, up until I paid the service from the events team was fab. Then after this there were a series of errors and miscommunications. 1) Rooms wrongly booked on arrival had to wait for an hour for them to find us another family room. 2) First receptionist who dealt with us then continued to draw my family nasty looks on passing reception, pretty sure it's the same girl myself and guests had bother with over the phone when booking rooms (told there was no rooms left for guests when they were set aside for us.) 3) I arrived on the Thursday and had not contact with the events team re my wedding day until 12pm on my actual wedding day, when they came to my room and asked about my music. 4) They missed out one of our songs before the ceremony that was picked for a special reason, they didn't put out our order of service until halfway through the wedding breakfast??? when we asked where they were. They never put out our menu's on the table so no one knew what we were having to eat. 5) HERE IS THE BEST ONE - During the evening we went to check into our complimentry room as they told us we couldn't check in until after 2pm (our ceremony time) to be told one again they had mucked up the reservations and hadn't reserved us a room, leaving me sitting in reception in my wedding dress for 30 mins to try and sort it. Quick rush around on their side and we have a room. When we go to it at midnight the carpet is soaking wet outside the toilet and it smells really bad of dampness. The next day when we speak to the manager the head housekeeper informs us that this isn't a room they would put people in as it has a leak! Health and safety? what the hell was leaking? they don't know. 6) The next day following all the problems we ask to keep a room until 1pm as we have family to take to the airport before we leave. Receptionist tries to find the manager to see if this is ok and we ask lots of times and they never get back to us. So at 12.30 i get a phone call to say we need to vacate the room ASAP, this leaves me and my 5 children in the reception with a good few bags and suitcase waiting on my husband returning from the airport. This obviously does not amuse my partner which results in us waiting another 4 hours to speak to a competant manager who can issue us a refund acceptable to cover all our problems during our stay. 7) On the evening of the wedding I was told all my stuff would be boxed up and available to collect the next day. I collect the boxes before we leave and rush home to leave for our honeymoon only to return to open the box and have none of the flowers or bouquets in the box which cost me a small fortune and were to go to my bridesmaids and my children as keepsakes. So take from this what you will, however beware and check all your bookings if considering the hotel for your wedding venue.

I was booked into the windmills sister hotel, the Manor. Some mix up found me no room (mix up not from my end) and having to drive to Windmill. As I had to leave my colleagues in Manor I must admit I thought I may get a nicer room with the mix up. The first room was the size of a shoebox and smelt the same, room 5. I returned to reception to ask for another room and was given room 6. No aircon and only window opens onto very noisy extractor fan. Room is disgraceful and like a hot box. To say im disappointed in Manor and Windmill is an understatement.

The hotel was very pleasant, and staff were friendly.We started with a round of golf - a lovely course, not too big, friendly and we'll maintained. Followed by a lunch on the bar (included) and then checked in to our room. The lunch was tasty, although the salad was a little bit limp/wet. We spent some time in the pool which was nice, although the Jacuzzi pool was not particularly warm, possibly because it is connected to the main pool. Dinner (Also included) was nice, although again the salad was disappointing - possibly stored too cold/looked frozen? The rest was nice, although I would've felt it was over priced if we had paid separately for it. Breakfast the next morning was nice enough. Plenty of choice. We had back/neck/shoulder massages in the spa which were very good and relaxing. Overall a good visit, and worth it if using a package/voucher.

Booked a Deluxe room and made several phone calls to request ground floor with a patio, twin or king. Checked in to be given 3rd floor with a double bed. Moved to a room originally requested which wasn't made up as a deluxe. Constant interruptions to bring the extra amenities which bring it up to a deluxe. Customer service is nil! Seems everything was my fault for the way I booked the room. Will not be staying again despite several visits to the area in the future.

This hotel is on the outskirts of Coventry, with a very attarctive golfcourse attached. It feels like you're in the country and the rooms are very comfortable. Thoroughly recommend it. Breakfast is a very pleasant offering after a stayover.

Booked a two night stay here and what can I say... Not alot really greated with a smile, room was very clean, the bed was amazing best nights sleep iv had for a while. Breakfast was spot on alot of options if your a fussy eater. No air con but honestly it's not a problem fan is more than enough to keep you cool at night. Will be returning.

Recently attended a wedding at the Windmill and my experience was great from start to finish. The staff made the event run smoothly and all bar/catering staff were helpful. The function room looked out on to the golf course which was a spectacular view!

This was a last minute stay due to work commitments. The hotel had good reviews in a great out of town center location. After a long trip I was disappointed to be told that the fitness facilities would be shut at 21:30 so I could not use them. Upon entering the room, the heating was on full blast (on one of the hottest days of the year). I found a fan in the room, but with only two plug sockets at the opposite side of the room to the bed, this provided very little comfort. The Television did not work.

I stay here at least two or three times a year and usually opt for this choice over other hotels because of gym and facilities but it's just not consistent. Rooms are spacious but dated, fans available both times during heatwave but not even a bottle of water left out. Place is clean but just feels stuffy, also the food is below average. The staff are super friendly and helpful but breakfasts are dire (haddock was worst ever) despite the pleasant view of golf course and bar menu is only marginally better than restaurant food, but it just feels like corners are being cut. Such a shame as it has glimpses of four star but I feel it is lacking.

Stayed 1 night here. I had a business meeting in Coventry and my colleague and I stayed here. First thing, it is not a hotel in the typical description, rather it is a series of self-contained apartments which are accessed outside. The room was big and clean and had an en suite bathroom which had a shower, toilet sink. Within the main building was a nice bar area which served typical bar food. Breakfast was a buffet of hot and cold foods. All in all it was perfect for what i wanted.

The perfect stop of a business trip! Fabulously clean hotel with great staff and amenities. Would stay here for leisure also the breakfast was great and the grounds stunning perfect for a weekend relaxing get away!

Stayed here last Friday had a ground floor room with patio doors overlooking the golf course, Service and food was excellent in the restaurant There was a wedding on but never bothered us thought it would be quite noisy but not at all. We wanted to surprise a friend of ours with a special golf and spa weekend to celebrate his 70th Birthday. We picked The Windmill as it wasn't too far away which would allow some others to attend an evening dinner. As it happens the date we picked was the 7th July which was when England played Sweden in the World Cup. It was also a stifling hot day - not that anyone was complaining! The golf was good, the ladies enjoyed their spa treatment and the dinner in the evening went down very well. The guest was in the dark right to the last minute as well which made it extra special. England won their game so all was good that day. I would like to make special mention of Mohamed, the Kitchen Manager. He was particularly helpful and accommodating with everything we wanted on the evening. If there was one niggle it was the choice on the package weekend evening meal. There was a marked absence of a red meat dish which was very surprising. People can choose from an extended menu with additional costs being incurred. All in all thoroughly enjoyed and a mark being lost only because of the menu choice.

Lovely hotel. Beautiful grounds and great spacious rooms. Restaurant excellent, went the extra mile with one of our group who was celebrating their 21st. Lovely restaurant staff, even though it was very busy and hot the staff were so chatty, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Another great stay here! Restaurant staff were great and so were the spa and leisure staff in particular! Second spa break here and we will be returning again soon. Back massage was really good again. Thank you!

We stayed here June 2018 for a wedding it is a lovely hotel golf and spa, the food is excellent nothing is too much trouble, My husband is not well the staff were exceptional making sure he was comfortable throughout our stay in a friendly and professional manner.

Although this hotel is located on a main road between Birmingham and Coventry, once inside the complex you wouldn't know it. We paid for an upgraded room and was not disappointed. Quiet room at the back of the hotel with a patio area and chairs which had direct access to the golf course with stunning views of the surrounding rural countryside With this amazing weather we could enjoy sitting outside with a bottle of wine or two! The perfect relaxing weekend we needed without the hassle of going abroad. Thank you Windmill.

This hotel was fantastic from start to finish. The staff were really friendly and would do anything to assist. It was excellent value for money and the food was delicious. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

To say our stay was memorable would be true but it would give the wrong impression. To claim it was underwhelming would also be true but it wouldn't quite grasp the level of malaise that seems to exist in the people that run this hotel. This might go on for a bit, so if you haven't the will to stick it out (which wouldn't be surprising after staying there), let me sum it up by saying, rooms nice, staff couldn't care, food awful. A colleague and I were staying for a business conference (we were running it) and were greeted pleasantly enough but we clearly had not been briefed about asking questions. Don't. Not only will they not know the answer but they will tell you it's not their fault, not their responsibility and/or you need to talk to somebody - anybody - else about it but them. Frankly, the level of ownership was shocking. We asked to see the conference room and we were pointed in the right direction and met by the duty manager (it was a Sunday evening) coming out of the room. He told us he would be back in two minutes before we had a chance to ask any questions and duly disappeared, leaving us to look around a conference room and kick our heals for a while. He did come back, stinking of the cigarette he had obviously just been smoking, and asked if everything was okay with the room? It was clearly meant to be a rhetorical question because when we started asking about flip charts and equipment, his reply was that he wouldn't know and we'd need to speak to the events manager and she wasn't in until the morning. We had some equipment sent ahead, could we get hold of that? He hadn't seen any but the events manager might know about it but she wasn't in until the morning (notice the angled slope of his shoulders at this point). The next night, England were playing their opening game in the World Cup and several delegates wanted to see it but the restaurant didn't open until 6:30. We asked what they could do to open half an hour earlier to which, both at reception and with the duty manager, we got the response, “Don't ask us, Gov. Not our problem.” - Not the exact words but they might as well have been. We were told we had to ask the chef but guess what, he wasn't in until the morning. On arriving in my room, I found my lights didn't work. I called up to reception who apologised (wow!) and said they would send someone to investigate. After 10 minutes of quiet, dark reflection, I'd had enough and made my way to reception. Two staff were on duty (one being our favourite duty manager) and both seemingly dealing with the same customer. I waited and was told, without apology, that they'd be right along but I waited to reinforce the requirement. Eventually the duty manager followed me to the room, complaining that Sunday was meant to be the quiet shift. He opened a cupboard, threw a fuse switch and voila! I had light. Any hint of an apology? Any check to see if there was anything else he could do? No. Just a tired sigh and a slow slope back towards reception to try and kill some more time, I assumed. Amazingly, this shoddy client management was then upstaged by what can only be described as a breach in the Trade Descriptions Act as a Cumberland Sausage Ring, served on a bed of mash with seasonal vegetables looked more like something that a Chihuahua had hurriedly pushed out onto a wet bed of mush with vegetables recently removed from their smart-price packaging. To be fair to chihuahua's everywhere, their offering would definitely have had more flavour, as this sausage was nothing but a bit of food colouring mixed into a 95% meat free package. When we were asked about the food, my colleague informed the manager, (same one as before), that it was offensive and must have been embarrassing to serve. We were informed that he'd be sure to pass the message on to the chef (who wasn't in, remember). No ownership, no ‘Could we do anything else for you?', no ‘Let's make this right.' Just a shrug, it's not his fault - it couldn't be, he was probably out the back on a fag break. What's going on at Best Western Plus (yeah, the “Plus” seems somewhat ironic) Hotels? Is this a general failure across the group to appoint, train and motivate people? Interestingly, we ran a conference at another Best Western Plus hotel, just a few miles down the road. There, the whole team couldn't do enough to support you. They owned whatever you threw at them, they responded quickly and looked for ways they could make your stay memorable for the right reasons. Whilst all organisations have their challenges in the people department from time to time, this wasn't a case of just a few underperforming staff, this was endemic in the hotel's service. One can only assume that the leadership of this venue either doesn't care or doesn't know how to. I'll be ensuring my client business goes elsewhere in future. Note: There was one member of staff who did stand out and really tried his hardest to own our feedback and do something about it. Well done Mohamed in the restaurant! You cared and for that, we thank you.

Pros: This hotel includes a spa and fitness centre and is situated overlooking the associated golf course, very pleasant. Cons: almost everything else! Since my stay here was for business and hence was booked for me by the company my employer uses for such purposes - with the aim of not paying very much - I, and the colleagues I was working with, had little choice about where to stay! This was actually my third stay here; the first, several years ago, I was given a very pleasant room overlooking the golf course, the food was just about acceptable (though a number of items were "unavailable"), so overall a rather less-than-pleasing stay. The second occasion was almost exactly a year ago, when, because of the amount my "employer" is prepared to pay is the absolute minimum, I was given Room 17, in one of the external lodges. This room was dark (only one small window) necessitating the electric light being on whenever I was in the room, very limited storage space (only two small drawers in addition to the wardrobe) and a rather long, thin bathroom, one of whose ceiling lights did not work so one end of the area was permanently in twilight. This time I was allocated exactly the same room again! Still dark, still very limited storage AND THE BATHROOM LIGHT STILL DID NOT WORK!!! In addition, one of the ceiling lights in the bedroom was also non-functional, so the room was even darker than normal! I duly reported both these non-working items to reception and was told they would be put on the "maintenance list" and would be sorted as quickly as possible. I actually stayed four nights and both lights were still not working the day I checked out. Very impressive, NOT. The food, on each occasion, has been poor. Breakfast is taken in the main restaurant. The quality of the hot food was overall good but the service varied from "intrusive" (crockery was sometimes cleared almost before one had finished the food ) to "extremely slow", with emptied plates, cups etc, left to pile up on the table, not through a shortage of waiting staff either. Also, if the restaurant has any more than a handful of guests present when you eat, don't ask for anything to be specially cooked; I made the mistake of ordering an omelette; it arrived some 25 minutes after I placed the order, as a result of which I was nearly late to my day's meeting in Coventry. Evening meal: I hope, if you stay here, you have plenty of time to waste in the evening. In addition to the restaurant, there is the option of eating in the Cellar Bar. On our four nights we ate twice in each, so were easily able to compare the two. The menus in both are similar - as we were staying on an inclusive rate we were told we could have up to £20 worth of food each night, maximum 2 courses. The choice of food on this rate was limited to the items marked with an asterisk on the menu - a seemingly stupid system, since some of the unmarked items were priced at LESS than the price of some marked ones! The bar Fish and chips was very good, well-cooked, but, having waited anything up to 40 or 50 minutes for it to arrive, perhaps one's hunger leads to a less discriminating palate. Admittedly the delay was exacerbated by the fact that the colleagues I was working with decided their two courses would be Starter and Main, whereas I preferred Main and Dessert. However, the starters could take 15 minutes to appear, even when the bar area was not especially busy. Both nights eating in the bar, there were 5 of us in the group, no meal-time lasted less than about 1.75 hours. Just to add insult to injury, on our second bar meal night, we were handed a menu that one of my colleagues described as the "Children's Menu" - the main courses were entirely burgers or pasta - and told, rather rudely, by one of the bar staff that we actually could only spend £15!! We ignored this! The restaurant food was a LITTLE more varied than that in the bar, but barely more than half the listed items were available to guests on the inclusive dining option. (One could select a non-asterisked item, in which case one was expected to pay the full listed price, no allowance set against the "inclusive option", even if the item one wanted was actually LESS in cost than an "included" (asterisked) item.) Service was, if anything, slower than that in the bar; an evening meal for five, or, in the case of our final night, for 10, took at least 2 hours. The entire group of five of us came away from our stay here vowing never to return. Even one of the colleagues who joined us on the last night because she was to particiapte only in the last day of our four day meeting so was staying in the hotel for only one night, expressed her considerable lack of enthsiasm for the food served as her evening meal.

We went to the hotel for a family dinner event. The room was lovely and clean although the mattress rather soft for my liking. My only issue was the bar closed rather early - 1130pm on a Saturday night.

I had booked a standard double room and was upgraded to a ground floor executive room on arrival, which was a lovely surprise. There was no air conditioning so I went to open the window and found that there were broken catches on both windows (one had split wood as if the window had been forced) and neither window was secure. I waited until a friend arrived and went to reception to report the windows. As we left the room, the door became faulty and wouldnt lock. I explained the problem to the gentleman on reception but he was struggling to understand what I meant, concentrating on trying to write it down rather than listen. I suggested that he come to the room so that I could show him (as it was less than a few steps from reception), but he said he couldn't leave the desk. A lady appeared from the back office and I attempted to explain the problem to her. She said that she had to call a manager then started to ring around to try to find them. By this point my friend was getting annoyed and several times suggested that I needed another room. The manager appeared and fiddled with the door, solving the problem with an almighty slam. Next he investigated the windows and had to agree that the room was insecure. Finally I was given another room on the other side of the corridor but by then they had wasted almost 30 minutes fluffing about when in reality an alternative room should have been offered and the problem with my original room solved later. All that said it was a lovely view of the golf course from the new room, the bed was a little soft but that is my personal preference. The food in the bar (when we got there) was pretty good and the bar staff were lovely Breakfast was a trek through a rabbit warren of corridors to a typical hotel buffet breakfast, nice sausages, choice of freshly cooked eggs etc but the bacon (sorry!) wasn't nice. Finally (just to be aware of) if you are staying here without a car the taxi to and from Coventry will be more expensive on the way back to Coventry as the hotel is on a dual carriageway and the taxi has to go round the houses to get back on the road towards Coventry. There was almost £5 difference in my fares.

Place is fine - no better no worse. It's clean but dated - has a shower curtain in the bathroom. No drinking water in the room - £3,50 a bottle if you do want some. Residents bar closes early - I got back with colleagues @ midnight and whilst they'd get us a beer - you can't drink it in the foyer. Breakfast is also an early affair - closes at 9,30am so get down early if you want something. I didn't play but the golf course looked decent enough. Location is mid way between Coventry and Birmingham so that's handy. I'd only return if it was a work related type thing.

Thus place is nice and somewhat scenic with a nice view of the golf course. But it is right on the highway and with literally no access to anywhere except by car from the highway. Forget about walking anywhere at all. I was given a room in a side building that had a moldy smell and was right next to the highway, and nobody had paid any attention to noise insulation. I realized I wouldn't be able to sleep and asked for a different room. No apologies or pleasantries, but I was moved to a room in the main building, which I highly recommend. However even this room had maintenance issues. The phone was dead, the shower was broken (it could only do ice cold or boiling hot), and the cleaners never came. The front desk, again, listened and took a note, or not, but no apology or surprise. I will not return if given a choice; and if you come here I would advise you to insist on a room in the main building.

Standard room, clean, spacious with good shower and toiletries provided. However customer service had a lot to be desired! An error was made by the staff member checking in with payment, staff talking between themselves no explanation. Had to wait 45 minutes for food in restaurant, was on a time pressure by that point so after 45 mins asked for takeaway as already paid. Tried to order room service at 11pm. No answer so gave up. Then tried to find reception at 11am to extend the room check out, no answer despite two staff being on the desk at 11:15 when we checked out. When dropping off the key, no conversation just a thanks. No questions to check quality of stay, barely eye contact. Standard pool with sauna and steam room. Average all round but due to service we are not motivated to return.

We turned up at reception after a long drive and work late at night and were ignored at reception for about 15 minutes and we're greeted with a very abrupt gentleman who clearly didn't want to engage with any guest social interaction. We then paid but as we were tired we went to bed straight away and didn't really think about what we had been charged. Once we woke up and looked at our bank account we realised we had been charged £175 for 2 nights as apposed to the agreed rate of £160 as we were there for a wedding, as this was a telephone booking they said that I was wrong but everyone else was charged this rate and so I was 100% right!! I woke up to go to the loo in the middle of the night and was greeted with the attached picture of a loo roll. This is VERY unhygienic and for the price we paid it was rediculous !! After the first night my partner and I found that we were head to toe and covered in bites - attached picture. On the second morning when we were getting breakfast in the restaurant the heat was unbearable to the point that even the juice was hot, so we left and paid for a breakfast on the way home. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The room and facilities were very good. It's a bit out of the way for Coventry itself. A taxi cost me £16 to my destination. Very noisy when there is a wedding on and stairs to the restaurant are difficult for someone like me with an arthritic knee. Service was excellent apart from being asked to pay my bill on arrival. This seems to becoming a common trend.

We have just had the most wonderful day here celebrating my daughter in law to be's spa hen do. The staff were great & made us feel welcome. Our treatments were totally relaxing & our therapist was brilliant. The pool, steam room & sauna were refreshing to use & the jacuzzi invigorating. We had a pleasant light lunch in the restaurant with views over the golf course. We all felt relaxed & pampered & would recommend the spa to anyone!

I stayed at the Windmill Village for work- it is in the perfect location for me and a great place to stay. The rooms are very comfortable- huge beds, good shower, everything you need when staying away from home for the night. The breakfast is brilliant. Lots of choice, from fruit and cereals to a full English or continental options available. I recommend the Windmill as a place to stay and I have always been very happy when staying here.

We had our wedding at the Windmill Village Hotel and from start to finish everything was amazing! They really gave us the best day and we're lovely people to deal with. Throughout the day they kept checking we were ok and if there was anything we needed and nothing was too much to ask.

By far the worst hotel that I have stayed at in the area. Upon arrival, I parked my car in a car park before even having seen a sign pointing to the car park, thus confusion remained regarding where I should park. The receptionists were rude, unwelcoming, unhelpful and complained to me that I used a debit card rather than a credit card, claiming that the bank would keep the funds for two weeks. I had not been requested to obtain a credit card prior to my stay. The room was acceptably clean and large, but 27?C with locked windows, lipstick splashes on the sink that had a plug that did not work- thus the sink filled with water and drained slowly. The folder containing info. was sticky and clearly needed a clean. The WiFi did not work; when I reported the issue to reception, a rude woman notified me that no one else had said anything, there were no apologies for the inconvenience and the WiFi was not fixed. Dinner arrangements had not been explained to me, so I guessed that I should go to the, poorly signed, restaurant. The restaurant was ridiculously hot and clearly run by graveyards on behalf of graveyards, as they had no vegetarian or vegan main courses. I waited 1/2 hour for a starter to arrive, that the waitress was unclear about whether it contained corpse or not, and gave up. The hotel had been notified, prior to my stay, that I am not a corpsearian. Breakfast options for non-corpsearians were limited. Despite useless staff, the management has such high expectations of guests, that if you wear jeans, you cannot go for a walk around the hotel grounds. The hotel is so unpopular that, in order to fill the rooms, they allow nuisance, gobby dogs to stay. Avoid- this hotel is unfit for purpose.

The dedicated function room was very well prepared for the combined Retirement and Birthday Party and the large tables were arranged such that it was very easy to be able to move past. The bar was only small however it was not sufficient size for the room and the numbers of party goers. The buffet food arrived in a timely fashion and was nicely presented on a long table at the side of the room. All hot food, such as the vegetable kebabs and barbecue flavoured chicken drumsticks were piping hot. A good range of tasty fresh sandwiches arranged on large platters were rapidly consumed and I enjoyed the selection. Most importantly, the remaining left over food was removed in a timely fashion thereby avoiding any issues of upset stomachs that can so easily happen especially on warm evening events, as it was that night. The hotel appears well able to cope with multiple events as on the evening in question there was also a large wedding reception in progress in another room. With plenty of parking available for visitors and overnight guests, the venue is certainly one to keep in mind for such special events.

When booking a wedding we always felt that nothing was too small. Bekie (the wedding organiser) was very professional and was always at the end of the phone or email. We had our complete Wedding at the Windmill Village Hotel. The service was excellent. The staff who organised the day were exceptional. Food was brilliant. Superb surroundings with gorgeous views on the outskirts of Coventry. Ideal location if a wedding party is coming from further away due to location close to M42 & M6. Would highly recommend.

Room had no window, just a small sky light that didn't open and was baking hot. Electrics were dodgy - light switch turned off TV, and they finally failed leaving me to pack in darkness on my last morning. Staff pretty good - they try their best but you can see they know it's a rubbish hotel.

I came to this hotel with a few of us yesterday. The hotel has lovely rooms and the views were amazing. The afternoon Tea menu is great value and plenty of choice to choose from. We sat outside and just took in the breath taking views of one of the lakes set within the golf course.

The first thing to say it is a long way from the centre of Coventry but as I was attending a conference this was not a problem. I stayed in one of the outbuildings which was comfortable. I did have a problem with the TV but as they could not fix it they found me another room straight away. A plus for their customer service. Had a meal in the bar and steady. Next morning enjoyed a swim in the pool and a good bonus as part of the stay Had an excellent breakfast so pleased with stay

We went for a spa night before flying from Birmingham the next day. Plain and simple here is my review Good points Great Food - Dinner was tasty and the breakfast was brilliant Modern large TV in room Comfortable massive bed Nice spa treatment Bad Its not clean! There is dust everywhere The rooms are roasting hot and smell. French doors lead on to golf course so no privacy if open. No air con. Very musty. What made the stay a 3 star was the food and spa treatments really. Otherwise a drab dreary outdated hot smelly room is what you can expect. Cal

We visited for a 4-ball round of golf. The course is conveniently located just of the A45 on the outskirts of Coventry. Although the pro shop is small with a very limited range of clothing and equipment, the staff were friendly and helpful. The course is open parkland in style and generally well kept although the greens were inconsistent and a little slow in places. We also found that the hole distances as shown on the score card were often at variance with those shown on the tee markers, which were often pointing in the wrong direction. However, despite the first three being relatively easy par 3s, there are some interesting and challenging holes, especially the 11th, which requires you to tee off over the corner of the main lake. Now that we understand the layout of the course better, we will probably play there again.

Booked a table for 24. Temperature in restaurant was 35 degrees. No open windows or air con. Waited 40 minutes for starters children's pizzas burnt black. Ruined my birthday. Meat dry in car very. Given 50% off but didn't make up for huge disappointment . Sad as previously has always been good.

We went for a wedding and it grew on us over the few days we were there, Nice views overlooking the golf course and a lake. Breakfast was good and it even had an omelette station but bizarrely the guy took about 20 mins to make them (not joking). Bedroom was OK. We had dinner one night, a very corporate event rubber chicken style food. I would not eat there out of choice. The bar is Ok, again with chairs outside looking over the golf course. The pool and leisure centre looked good but we didn't use. At the wedding they have no idea had to run bars as it took forever to get a drink and the PA system was useless making the speeches hard to follow. Overall though not too bad at all.

What a place! Stayed for one night sadly, I will definitely be back. The pool area was stunning easy check in process and check out was a breeze. Bar & Restaurant staff were a delight nothing too much trouble.

The room was of a good standard and the check in and leisure staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was very nice but a little over priced Unfortunately I left my Crew leather wash bag in the room after checkout, nearly New. And it was NOT Handed in as lost property by the cleaning team. Room 12 / 30-04-2018 Overall a pleasant experience, just don't don't leave anything lying around!!

This hotel is 3 star at best, paid for an upgrade and worry what the standard rooms are like certainly didn't look like any of the rooms on the website. Tried to close my curtains and all the hooks fell off the rail. Receptionist on arrival was disinterested and on phone, told her I would be leaving before breakfast but never replied, however I found out I could have had an early breakfast in my room.. Restaurant busy although staff in here were extremely pleasant as was reception staff in the morning.

We found that the meal was bland, over priced with very meagre proportions. The Tempura was a thick stodgy batter, not the light batter I expected. Fish pie was tasteless and the Panna Cotta must have been a childs portion, it was so small. I would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends which is a pity because the service was good and the venue very nice with good views. We also like the round table as we were a Large party.

Stayed here for a work conference so the hotel was allocated for us. What a lovely surprise! I stayed in room 209 (recommend that or 211 as these two have balconies with table & chairs overlooking the stunning golf course, are also very close to the leisure centre). There are lots of different small blocks & buildings but it is all very accessible with plenty of parking. The room was immaculate & very well equipped. I slept like a log in the comfortable king size bed. The leisure centre is amazing! The large gym has extensive equipment & there is an 18 hole golf course. The pool & jacuzzi were of a very high standard, and again immaculate. I particularly liked the large steam room with ceiling lights & the lighting & ambience of the whole pool area, very relaxing. Breakfast was buffet style & all very well cooked with a huge selection. All areas of the hotel were extremely well kept, attractive & modern and all the staff were friendly & very helpful.

Quite often around Birmingham for work but never really found anywhere exceptional to stay until now. What a breath of fresh air! Brilliant friendly staff, excellent location,very clean and tidy every where, staff that could be bothered to go the extra mile especially the breakfast staff with a spring in their step and a very curious manner, and the kitchen sending out a cooked breakfast to be proud of , not just slapped on a plate like so many places I have stayed in. All in all I definitely recommend it and will return for sure ! Oh also the price was also very acceptable. Well done all at the Windmill. See you soon

Can't thank the staff enough at the spa sooo welcoming sooo helpful infact couldn't be more helpful if they tried but more importantly soo patient with my friend who has dementia but they didn't know that at the begining. You truly are such amazing people and I will definitely be back to see you guys again so thank you our reception host Claire & Joe but even more so Claire for going above and beyond so appreciated and our spa ladies Karen and Katy amazing understanding and patience Great treatments you guys really made our day THANK YOU!!!

Hotel Hotel is nice. You can tell its been there for many years and a traditional feel to the hotel. That isnt a bad thing! Lots of wood in the rooms and outside in the corridors etc. Nice and clean though. I was actually told when arrived I had been upgraded to a deluxe room I think it was. Nice big tv inside, bathroom was big enough with a wardrobe and nice look out onto the golf course. Plenty towels and these were replaced daily. I was only there 2 nights but the stay was nice… kettle in the room with plenty hot chocolate, tea and coffee. never any noise. Around a 10 minute drive max to the NEC. Straight out the hotel onto the main road and one straight road all the way! Gym/ Swimming Pool Gym is fairly nice and modern for a hotel .Has lots of weight machines and I believe this gym is open to anyone as people from outside the hotel come here. Fairly decent standard of gym with dumbells going up to around 40kg. Plenty of machines too. There is a fair few cardio machines, around 6 treadmills, Steppers, bikes and 2x rowers. There is also a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Swimming pool was big enough for some lengths and the steam room and sauna were excellent. Nice and clean. The guy on the reception of the gym gives you a lock for the locker and towel if required too… it shuts at 10pm the gym and swim. Food I only had one evening meal at one of the restaurants. A steak with 4 chunky chips and some salad. A starter calamary and a coke which came to £33. Not to bad, suppose the going rate. Was a ncie feeling and setting to the resturant. Was downstairs and looked out onto the golf course. Plenty Tvs and had a pub type feel. The lady who served me was more than helpfull, very kind. Menu was decent just like a normal pub menu. I had breakfast for two mornings and that was lovely. Full English, cereals, breads etc and fruit. Choice of orange juice, apple and forest fruits. Someone there to make omelettes too. No pancakes i dont think. Very nice breakfast! would give that a 5*. was all nice and hot. Location Around a 10minute drive to the NEC/airport. It was one road basically from the hotel to the NEC/airport area which is a dual carriageway. Be careful of the numerous speed cameras along that road mind!

We came here for our anniversary, I've been here before hence I recommended it to my partner. We were upgraded on arrival to an executive room, may I again say a big thank you for this! Our room was situated upstairs above the eatery and both restaurants have great value food along with amazing staff! Make sure you check out the spa, gym and swimming pool. Also a lovely walk near the golf course is recommended. Some outstanding views. Over all, we had a lovely time. Will definitely be visiting again.

Was very disappointed in our room, room number 6 wallpaper coming off the walls the floors were uneven so all furniture looked wonky the toilet didn't flush properly. How this is a 4* I don't and for a best western hotel it's terrible. It's was a good job I only stayed the 1 night. Wouldn't recommend it at all.

Attended my nieces wedding this weekend. I booked a deluxe room, don't bother upgrading to this. The room was really small and the only difference the receptionist explained to us after questioning about the standard room to the deluxe was that it had French doors instead of a window and it looked onto the golf course. The breakfast wasn't up too much they constantly ran out of things, glasses , juice, hot food. I waited 20 mins for an under cooked omelet. The staff were incredibly slow Also and inexperienced. The orange juice taste of liquorice. The wedding food was nice but the waiting on staff again were not experienced enough to be working on a wedding that a lot of money had been spent on. The bar wasn't open to residents after the party finished we could only have drinks at room service costs. I feel sorry for future wedding parties booking here.

We were here for a wedding and it was lovely. The carvery was a great touch, as you could help yourself rather than fight over one bowl of vegetables for each table. Pudding was delicious. The cellar bar did get quite full though on arrival and during the room change over as wedding guests and hotel guests were all in one room.

I went as part of the Christmas do in 2017. I was very disappointed. The white wine tasted bitter and they said there wasn't a different type to what was out. My food order and wrong AND late. The music was good and I liked the fact that there was a Christmas photographer. The room was packed though, would've done better with more space between tables as I trapped my fingers in between chairs when moving around. Staff were unhelpful because it was so busy, there werent many to call on, I had to hunt for a waitress for a drink. Very disappointed and won't be going again.

I bought a voucher, which was including a one night stay with breakfast, two course dinner for two and spa access in this 4-star hotel. Perfect for one night stay, or more if you like to play golf. The room was nice, big enough, with comfy bed. Only disturbing thing, the room was next to the lift and the separator door, which was noisy everytime when went through someone. The spa was ok, sauna had some problem, so only the steam room was open. I had a nice massage, was relaxing. The dinner was delicious, the breakfast was good. Staff are friendly, all together positive, totally worth the voucher price.

Firstly I rang 4 days before to see what leisure facility's were available, I was told a steam room, sauna, pool and jacuzzi. Great! Although when we arrived and headed straight for the spa we were told the sauna was under refurbishment and were in fact greeted with a cold pool area as the door was left open and a noisy construction area- not my idea of a spa weekend. After a short dip in the pool a family arrived with a giant blow up dolphin and started to dive bomb in the pool, again not my idea of relaxing. Our room was lovely apart from a buzzing ‘intercom' noise that happened every hour and kept increasing. Our light switches seem to control more that one light so you could not just have your side light on, you had to have a random selection of lights on altogether, this meant I could not read at night time unless it was pitch black or super bright- meaning no one else could sleep with the lights on. Apart from the above the breakfast was outstanding. Wouldn't visit again

Went for Sunday carvery 25th March. 5 us booked in at 2.30 3 weeks in advance Ordered drinks doom bar sent back as cloudy and awful Starters were ok although small. Went up to carvery where manager said had been refreshed NOT beef ran out no pigs in blankets roast ran out and waited 15 mins for gravy which when arrived was like water so sent back Veg was inadequate parsnips soggy cabbage under cooked WORST CARVERY EVER BEEN TO Considering they didn't finish till 4 felt sorry for others. Agency chef said they had sacked chef that day!! You expect more from hotel of that caliber Wanted nice family meal where my son travelled from Essex No one apologised or offered any compensation Will never return or recommend

Very nice hotel and staff very friendly. Good was excellent and restaurant is very nice. The restaurant staff need to be a bit more attentive and they appeared short staffed. The bar and staff again we're very nice but come on guys a 2245hrs closing time for residents is disappointing. The golf course is a bit quirky in its layout of 3 par 3s to start off but a nice well kept course. The greens would be a real challenge in the summer and would be fun. We stayed in room 15 and one of the beds in there has seen better days and the thin mattress liner and badly fitted sheets did not help. All in all I enjoyed this hotel and would go back

Most disappointed with the dinning staff in the main restaurant, it felt like they were not trained properly and breakfast on the Sunday morning was awful; it was cold and they kept running out of most items admittedly it was very busy, slightly better the next morning. Bathroom in our upgraded Executive Room, had no heated towel rail or extractor fan working and the room very well used and tired. So disappointed with the spa area although my therapist was very good (which is why I gave the hotel a two rating - would have been one) no where to relax and/or read before or after treatments except a busy reception area. It was handy for the NEC though!

We had a good stay here Food was great Breakfast could have been better as Some of it was warm and not hot. when we first got in room it smelt damp., used Spa and was told by reception that I did not need a Towel as they supplied them on getting to the Spa was told they had no Towels ??? but you could see them stacked against the window of the pool. ????

2nd time staying at Best Western Windmill Village. Quick check in, rooms are large and spotless & very well equipped. Wifi great connection, Staff super friendly and well informed. Food and drink excellent and great service

We booked the Best Western hotel on thinking they are a good well known hotel chain, however we were very disappointed. The setting is lovely. We were going to Cruft so had a dog and was put in the rooms separate from the hotel it's self, which was fine as i wouldn't want to have offended any other guest however for £144 for room and breakfast i thought it was expensive to say the rooms are definitely in need of an update. We stayed in all evening because of the dog and i think the heard of elephants were stopping upstairs. We had to bang on the ceiling several times to try ask them to be quiet. at 10.45 we had enough and called reception. They said they couldn't do anything about it. The noise was awful we could even hear people arguing. I did complain to the duty manager but was told he couldn't help what other guests do!! Customer service is zero. It seems once they have your money they really don't give a monkey's what happens!!!. We had the breakfast which was also disappointing and not worth bothering. We did qualify for Crufts next year but won't be going back to this hotel. And wouldn't recommend it.

The hotel is situated along one of the main routes to the NEC which took about 10 minutes and very easy to find. We were given a warm welcome and booked into room 36. This was located in one of the annexes to the main hotel which was fine as they looked great. However on inspection of the room we found that the toilet did not flush. Reception were very apologetic about this and swiftly booked us into room 33, in the same complex. The room was a good size as was the bathroom and was warm with a large comfy bed, it was well maintained and clean and perfectly acceptable for the length of stay we required. The breakfast had a great choice from continental to full English with all the usually cereals, juices and breads and was a buffet help yourself which is always a bonus. In my opinion the hot food could have done with being hot as I found it only warm. That is the only fault though, there was plenty to eat and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't use the spa facilities or restaurants so I can't comment on them. The hotel had free Wi-Fi which is always a bonus. Overall I would stay here again as it is a lovely hotel.

Having driven through the night through red and Amber weather warnings from Scotland, we arrived shattered and frozen (-4° outside and very snowy). We asked if early check in was possible and they let us do that no problem. Food was excellent, as was the pool, sauna and steam room. We were in room 28, out with the main hotel and beside the dual carriageway but it had a really comfy bed plus was lovely and warm. If we were in the area again, we would stay here without hesitation. Thanks to all staff, especially for bringing extra milk in the middle of a snow storm!

This did the job for the weekend but I wouldn't rush back. We were staying in one of the chalet blocks and I felt like we were on a holiday camp rather than a hotel complex. Mould in the tiny shower, no bathrobes (unless you paid £15 deposit per robe) and extension wires for all the appliances. We were in room 16 and it needs in my opinion updating. The use of spa/pool was nice but as a paying hotel guest robes and slippers should be free and accessible. Breakfast was buffet style and mediocre with hot food warm and not best quality there was a 15 minutes wait Sunday morning for a table. The cellar bar looked nice but on both nights was closed by 2300 despite being advertised as being open till late. This place needs to decide if it's a good quality spa hotel or aparthotel complex as it's trying to be both and fits neither at present.

I stayed here with my son while we visited my brother in Coventry. The hotel is located just outside the city, but next to the main route in so only about 15 minutes drive to the city centre. The welcome was relaxed and I would have liked to have been given more information about the leisure and pool activities. The room was well furnished and clean, and had a small heater on the side of the wall (which was a small concern on my part as the curtains slightly covered over this). The beds were comfy and clean. There was a plug next to the bed but this was only for the table lamp as it was linked to the main lightswitch, so when you turned the light switch off the plug switch went off. Not having a useable plug next to your bed is something hotels could easily change, but in this case they are not unique so I don't think this distracted from my stay. We loved the welcome we got and service in the restaurant, which was quiet and well stocked. The breakfast was lovely. The best thing from my son's point of view was the leisure club. The man on the front desk was really helpful and keen, and the pool warm with great changing facilities. We were given a lock as we didn't have one for the locker which was very helpful. My son loved the spin dryers which allowed us to dry our swimming gear on exit. Overall a good hotel and very good value for money - it suited us well for our overnight stay and the service was good in most areas.

stayed here for one night in January with my wife,bedroom had two beds pushed together, different heights, evening meal was disgusting, starter cold, tried three main couses all disgusting was offered more but gave up in the end, the cheapest house wine was £22.00 probably cost £2.00 at asda, all breakfast hot food was cold,complained to management and they wanted me to try hotel again but wanted to charge me more than last time, there are lots of other hotels in Coventry to choose from so don't chance this one

Stayed for 3 nights on business. Room was well kept but a bit tired and shabby in places. For every brilliant staff member there was one not so fabulous. Good beer and a wide choice at breakfast. Village style setting gives great parking but it means the rooms get very cold every time you open the door!

Stayed 2 nights on business. Very efficient check in nd very polite service. Room was very comfortable; warm, clean and quiet. Efficient and polite service in the bar, and the lounge areas were very clean and comfortable. Didn't eat in the restaurant at night as we went out as a group however breakfast was plentiful and good quality. This will be my hotel of choice when visiting Coventry in the future.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Windmill Village back in December 2017, and could not fault a thing! Bekie Munday was our main contact during the 2 years of planning our wedding. She was very quick to respond to emails (and I sent a lot of emails!), and was able to accommodate all of our needs. We had a couple of meetings with Bekie prior to the wedding - so was nice to put a face to a name, and she explained the order of the day perfectly, nothing was too much trouble. On the day itself, all the staff at the hotel were amazing! Another Becky ran the day, and looked after us and our guests very well. The food brought out (considering there were around 70 people to cater for) was perfect, so thumbs up to the chefs. We did actually eat at the hotel the day after, and again the food was lovely as well as the breakfast buffet. The Waiters and Waitresses supplying our food and drink during the day were excellent and very friendly. Everything ran on time. We had the Pickford Suite, and the staff at the hotel decorated it just as we had asked, and it looked amazing! The hotel itself is lovely, and set within beautiful surroundings. We were fortunate enough to have snow whilst we were there, and this just added to the beauty. We were allocated a beautiful room for our wedding night which overlooked the golf course - stunning in the snow. All in all, we had a very stress free day thanks to the efficiency of the staff at the hotel, and the organisation that Bekie provided. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to have a wedding reception in Coventry.

The management of this property are hospitable, pleasant and extremely helpful. The owners , Best Western are a bunch of inconsiderate, uncompassionate, uncomprehending ignorant bunch of self centered " SIT ON THEIR YACHTS " all day bums. All i tried to do was cancel 7wks in advance a twin room for one night because my mum needs to go to hospital the day we needed to book in. They are giving me no refund. £79 thats it, to me thats 2 wks food. I just wanted mum to have a nice mothering sunday.

We had to change our rooms a number of times until we chose to just stay where we were to avoid any further disruption to our stay. Room 1 - Cold water tap didn't work. At all. Toilet not cleaned properly. Room 2 - Drains blocked so badly that when we ran water black slime came up. Bedside lamp not working. Teaspoons still encrusted from previous occupant's drinks. Finally, shower head fell off whilst having a shower. Room 3 - Standing lamp not working, and bathroom light would not turn off, so we had to keep the bathroom door closed, but the fan was loud all night. Breakfast was delicious, but one morning we were given a dirty coffee cup, the second morning the cup was chipped... We were not the only guests having problems with our rooms. Such a pity, as the hotel is in a lovely location and the rooms are a good size with plenty of facilities. Its just that housekeeping don't ensure that those facilities are clean or working.

Attended for sunday lunch last week for a 70th birthday celebration. There was 29 of us and we couldn't have been happier with the service. The tables were laid beautifully, the staff were really helpful and pleasant and the food was excellent. We all had a 3 course meal, including a very good carvery with nice fresh vegetables and well cooked meat, and we asked for cheese and biscuits as well for after lunch which was provided without any problem. the wines we had pre-ordered were on the tables ready for us and they had laid a table ready for the cake which we took in. Well done we were really happy with our day.

Just a one night stay for me for business whilst auditing in Coventry. The welcome was brusque and practical however no mention of where the bar and/or restaurant are located so I had to go back and ask (nothing particularly wrong with that I'm quite capable) Had my food in the cellar bar that evening and although there was a mistake with my food the waitress took it back politely and helpfully and it was fixed and returned in good time. There was one woman. I have no idea if she was the bar manager or similar who spent my whole stay in the cellar bar barking orders at the waitresses and bar staff. That affected my ability to relax a little. The room was freezing cold and you cant turn the heater on and leave it unless you have 2 entry cards.

Stayed on business 9/1/2018 As a Best Western Platinum member I always try and stay at BW hotels This hotel is in a good location with nice decor and my room was comfortable Unfortunately the cellar bar did not live up to expectations. Again nice decor but as we were on an annual kick off meeting x 18 people we had a table booked for 7.30 - We were told about 7.25 our table was ready so we sat down ,it took about 20minutes before anyone came to take our order then we had to wait about 30 minutes to get our food which I would give 3 out of 5 The biggest horror came at 10.25 when we were told the bar is closing at 10.30 This is based so we were told on how many people were in the bar well to my mind there was us x 18 plus other guests We are not heavy drinkers but all other hotels shut the bar normally at 11.00pm which I quite accept and then if you wish as resident can then be served by a night porter if required not at this hotel ,no night porter was available. I was not alone in my comments but I think this hotel needs to review the bar policy by staying open at least to 11.00pm regardless of how many people are in the bar Disappointed to say the least.

I've passed this place often enough. On arriving the reception staff were friendly and welcoming My room, was totally unexpected ! Queen size bed which was very comfortable and the room didn't have much noise from outside or other rooms ( I'm a very light sleeper) and a note saying for complimentary soft drink and fruit, or if I wanted fresh milk to phone 0 Without doubt some of the decor is tired, but this can be said of so many large chain. But it felt exceptionally clean. My meal in the bar was ok, but nothing more. Breakfast was a good spread, but I felt the temperature of the food kept on hot plates wasn't ‘hot'.

The hotel was very nice and clean and apart from one individual on bar service all staff were very friendly on what was a busy night. We went to the ball. The band were one of the best I have heard in a long time. Brilliant evening made special by the company we were with. Sadly the same cannot be said about our food which was over cooked tasteless and inedible. Not only that the bar had insufficient glasses for the night. Having ordered champagne for midnight we were given standard wine glasses to drink from and the bartender was quite indignant when I asked for champagne glasses instead of giving me some he gave them to people drinking fizzy wine and ignored me. As it was New Year I decided to leave it. However later this same barman passed a derogatory comment about my partners height. When I asked him about what he said not only did he deny it but became quite rude and aggressive to me. Sort out your bar staff.

Hi Guys, If you are looking for a quiet stay with beautiful a beautiful view then keep this place as a consideration. Even though it's of a main road the view at the back is amazing. We stayed here in December and it was awesome, the staff were friendly and the facility in general was brilliant. The weather was cold but the whole place had a warmly feel. This hotel is spacious and has good facilities like the gym, pool,sauna, steam etc. For those who have seen my previous reviews know that I give genuine reviews. Some features needed abit of modernisation but that's a given no place is perfect, however all round a beautiful clean hotel. Be mindful that the local shops are not in walking distance but if you have a car then your good.

This hotel is a dream...... The room we had was really comfortable and the venue and spa is very well kept. We attended the New Year Gala event and it was fantastic. The whole feel of the night was well balanced and very enjoyable. The service of food was really well drilled and very professional, the lamb was a little tough and I would have liked more veg on my plate but that aside it was a great evening. The DJ was very good, although he talked too much!! And the previous band were better. That all said it still deserves five stars and all the staff should get a big pat on the back. This was a 4 day break over Xmas. We arrived xmas eve and were served a 3 course meal. Our room was in the main house.room 6, it was a nice room,but the bed was so soft that I ended up rolled On top of my husband all night. After breakfast on Xmas morning we went to reception to ask to be moved. We got moved to another part of the hotel. Our room was fabulous. We loved every minute from there. We were treated like lords! The staff cannot be praised enough. They are a credit to the hotel. Do remember your swimming costume! The pool,sauna and steam room are a must!

This is the third year we have attended the Gala Dinner and once again were not disappointed. We were able to check into our rooms on arrival and then had lunch in the cellars bar, food was very good and staff very accomodating. Our room was excellent, overlooking the golf course, very clean and with a huge very comfortable bed. Everything about the Gala dinner was excellent, food, service, entertainment, staff and the fireworks. Ok we didn't get an ice bucket with our wine but hey ho it didn't detract from the overall experience. Breakfast was very busy, but well organised so we didn't have to wait too long for a table. The food was very good with plenty of selection. Once again I must give a special mention for exceptional service to Alex who sorted out our rooms for us, knowing our special needs from previous years. Also the wonderful Kym who made sure once again that we had suitable seats and that we were positioned to see the fireworks without going outside, which would have been difficult for our son who is a wheelchair user. I don't know where Kym gets her energy from, making sure that everything runs smoothly and always so pleasant despite being under pressure, such a lovely lady. Thanks to you all for a wonderful night and hope to see you all Next New Year.

I would like to say that we had an enjoyable New Year, but unfortunately not. We booked the “all inclusive” party at The Windmill Village and we must say that we are most disappointed with the evening we received and think it was not value for money at all. To start with, we paid for the “upgrade” of bedroom. The room was decorated nice and it had a view of the golf course as expected, but whenever we've upgraded hotel rooms in the past we think we are getting the best on offer. This room had a small double bed instead of a king size bed which we thought we would get. In other upgrades at different hotels, there is a “welcome” pack containing water, slippers, nuts etc. In this room, we had one packet of biscuits, one hot chocolate, one coffee packet and one tea bag – there two people in this room, which made us think this should have been a single room for one person. The French doors in the room need resealing – the cold wind could be felt coming through the top of the doors. The curtains across these didn't pull to fully and we had to fold them towards each other to block the light. We immediately rang reception and asked if there was another room available and they simply said no, all rooms were booked. We tried to find a room service list, but couldn't find one, despite the folder in the room saying to ring a certain number to order room service. I went to reception to enquire and the receptionist tried to find one, but couldn't. She proceeded to ask a manager who very rudely said that they had all been taken out of the rooms as we would be eating at the party later on! It was only 3.30pm at this time, we only wanted a drink in our room, not food, but he literally said all staff were preparing for the party and room service was unavailable, then walked off. There was a notice in reception saying there may not be hot water available between 5pm and 7pm when everyone could be using showers. There were also no extra towels available should we have wanted them. If a hotel has a certain number of rooms, they should be able to run the whole hotel at capacity and offer all services as normal. To add insult to injury about the room, we found out later on during the party from a couple who were sharing our table, that they were given a “free upgraded room” which was much better than ours and had a big four poster bed! We were pretty annoyed that we had paid extra for our room and they didn't but there's was better! The party itself was the biggest disappointment. For the amount of money we paid, it wasn't worth it. Comparing the price of ours to the “black tie gala” it is totally amazing that the difference was only £5 per person and they got a lot more to make it an enjoyable evening. There room was twice the size of ours, we were pretty crammed in. They had more decorations and made it feel more party like. The photo booth, curtain and entertainment in the form of the live band and DJ was a million times better than our “mute” DJ. He had no interaction at all during the evening. He didn't say a word. He did no countdown to the New Year where at parties we have attended before get the guests excited about the new year approaching. We kept an eye on our own watches to get ready to bring it in. His music selection was so random. Each song would be completely different to the preceding, flitting from one era of music or type to another miles apart. If songs are played which aren't attracting people to dance, then DJs would soon see what type of guest he has and what music attracts dancing or not. He continued to play songs which people weren't interested in and no one danced. There were more people queuing for the bar across the dancefloor than people dancing! The food was good, we have to say we can't fault that. The beef was very soft and tasted delicious. The potatoes and vegetables were cooked perfectly and the apple crumble dessert was also very tasty. The drinks service however were a different matter. To have a small bar to cater for so many people didn't work. To start with, there were two members of staff serving and then there was one bar person and he worked at snail's pace. It would take between 15 and 20 minutes to queue and get served! Even when two members were serving to begin with, this wasn't enough when guests were arriving. The party next door had everyone on the dance floor ready for midnight, playing the song “final countdown” – we know this as we came back from the toilets at 11.55pm. We had a normal song by Katy Perry which he cut off and started to play a recording of Big Ben – which was actually 2 minutes early according to all our watches. There was then silence for about 30 seconds before Auld Lang Syne was played but in a “jazzed” up version. What proceeded totally shocked us, he played the “hokie cokie”!!! It wasn't a children's party but suddenly felt like it. He then played “the conga” and staff wanted everyone to do this going out of the room to go outside to the fireworks. This completely failed as everyone else from the other party were in the corridors trying to get outside too. Once everyone was outside, we were kept waiting for nearly 10 minutes before the fireworks started. People were too cold and fed up of waiting and went back inside, and to be honest, they didn't miss much! The fireworks were terrible. The displays in the distance were better and we've actually held better displays at home. We went back inside afterwards and proceeded to queue for a drink again. After 20 minutes we finally got served. Whilst waiting, another male staff member kept walking in and out of the bar from the other room. He kept looking at the queue and walking off. When I was being served, he came out again, so my husband asked him why only one person was serving when the queue was so long all the time. He was so rude to my husband and quite arrogant. My husband told him to forget it but he continued to be rude. We told him we weren't interested in his rudeness but he continued. He then walked off and then came back within seconds and served the woman behind us instead of my husband. The whole experience of the room and the party and the staff attitude left a lot to be desired. It really did feel like a budget all-inclusive holiday where guests were restricted to drinks and left to their own devices with rubbish music and non-existent DJ – a playlist could have been played for the non-interaction he gave. When the other party started earlier than ours, finished later than ours and had more to offer in terms of entertainment, I cannot understand the prices of both. Ours was not worth the money. For a 4 star hotel, you would expect “soft close doors” as well, but sadly not in this hotel. The doors banged and echoed down the corridor. Although not a fault of the hotel, rude and inconsiderate guests opposite us were in and out of two rooms next to each other at 5am, banging on each others doors and shouting at each other, then once opening the doors, proceeded to slam them shut I can honestly say I wouldn't recommend the all-inclusive party to anyone, but the other one would probably worth experiencing one day, although staying overnight would have to be reconsidered. We now wish in hindsight that we had booked and attended the other one, and didn't bother paying for the upgraded bedroom either.

First impressions good. Lovely seating area just off reception with stunning countryside views (See photos), unfortunately this seating area is some way from the depressing cellar bar. Husband said beer was very good, hot chocolate was poor and cup was small. The only comfy seats looked out over gravel and a brick wall. Windmill Suite was laid out beautifully and staff worked very hard. Plates and food were hot. Couple of rookie mistakes... ran out of wine buckets by 7.30pm. They did have 3 other functions o that night. Water on the tables but no water glasses, photograph area was set up by kitchen door and door out to toilets so people queuing blocked routes. Enjoyable evening but been to better. Standard rooms are a bit bleak. Room cold, called reception and helpful man came immediately with heater. He explained that we hadn't put the room card in the slot. It does mention in the room book but not clear as you enter the room because lights came on without keycard in slot. Perhaps going forward reception could advise on check in. One last thing, annoying green light in bedroom (See photo) and due to dual carriageway you have to go a long-way left before you can turn right. Not a write off but we won't return.

Visited the hotel for the first time for my sisters wedding, room was very spacious and clean and the bed so so comfortable. It is a little like a maze finding your way around but well worth a stay if you are in the area.

We spent a lovely family afternoon at this hotel having lunch with santa. We all had a great time the food was delicious. Santa was amazing the children all said 'he is the real one'. The entertainment kept the children amused and thoroughly happy throughout the afternoon. Well done to all the staff.

Myself, my husband and a friend booked a Christmas package and were booked in at the best western plus manor hotel located ten mins down the road. (Fabulous hotel, separate review been written for this) and we were told that we could use the spa facilities along at the windmill hotel and just show your room cards when you arrive. Location of hotel was ok, but don't think much the view of the other hotel across the busy dual carriageway, after parking the car in the cellar bar/spa car park. We found it difficult understanding how to enter the building and ended up walking right round to main reception where we were greeted by miserable looking receptionists who told me to just go through the door, go left and it's there. Which we did and ended up in the wrong part of the hotel again then to be shown and taking by another member of staff (the cleaner) after asking for the 3rd time. At the spa reception desk 2 gents were stood and 1 asked how we were, and how was our stay at the hotel, I explained we are booked into the other hotel and come here to use the facilities to the response of 'ummm I see, well just sign there' then he gave me a pad lock for my locker and told where to go to next. I went through one door the boys went off through another. Upon entering the changing rooms, the first thing I noticed out of the two changing rooms they had one did not even have a door as it was broke, and the other was just plain filthy, soaked un mopped floors, talc powder thrown all over, hair all over the floor, no way was I standing in that. The whole changing rooms itself was in need of a good mop and clean. I ended up using the toilet to get changed. And upon returning I had to change in the middle of changing rooms, which I was not happy about due to personal reasons. My husband and friend said the same about there changing rooms, filthy, soaked floors, and absolutely freezing temperatures to be changing in especially when wet. We entered the pool area which was nice and warm, the tiled floor was very dirty with dirty foot prints and shoe marks but hard to avoid when finding somewhere to put my stuff down, and to say that guest do not where footwear in there it comes from the staffs shoes as I witnessed a member of staff going outside via the door at the end of the pool and walking back through to go back to reception. Then I got into the pool from the side only to jump straight back out. The water was freezing clap cold and the attendant told me the water was 30 degrees. I've not long been back from Costa Rica where there sea temperatures were 26 degrees and it felt like you walked into bath water and this pool water was not 30 degrees. The room itself maybe have been that temperature but not the water, even the jacuzzi was cold. The steam room was nice but was too much for me and got onto my chest a little, and sauna room was ok but again was unable to sit in them long enough due to my chest. I came out and sat on the sun lounge beds provided to find they hadn't been washed in a long time, stains, dirty feet marks and muck all over them. After an hour of been there we decided to change and head straight back to our hotel not feeling relaxed at all on Christmas Eve, after leaving home early, driving for 3 hours to get here, we were left disappointed having to find something else to fill our afternoon in until dinner that night. I will not return to this spa in the future

A one night stay for our works Christmas Party and Meeting. There was 30 of us staying, which included the Christmas Meal, DJ and we opted for the all inclusive bar option. That didnt start until 7.30PM and only covered certain brands. Not a major issue, but a few of us decided that you needed to drink a lot of measures to feel the effect of the spirits, suggesting that the measures might be watered down or not to full strength. My room looked out over the golf course (I have a rewards card and get an upgrade when I stay at any Best Western) and had a patio. Room very well appointed, clean and spotless. Bed super comfortable. My room was quiet as it didnt face the main A45 dual carriageway. Breakfast is a help yourself affair, lots of choice, my only suggestion is that the hot food could be kept hotter as it sits in trays and therefore goes cold very quickly. I guess if you get the food straight away when it comes from the kitchen you would be ok. One thing regarding the juice, no orange on the day I stayed, but a minor issue. Would I stay again, yes and for pleasure this time and for longer as it is a nice area to base yourself for the surrounding attrations. All staff very nice and helpful

Sixteen of us from work went here for our works Christmas party. It was reasonably priced at £25 per head with a very good DJ who entertained us for the evening. On the down side we were in the breakfast room which has a disjointed layout for a party room. The food was ok but before some people had finished they started clearing the plates (which is not too bad) but they were then scrapping the scraps in to a bucket at a table next to us. Which was off putting for us all not just the people still eating. We complained to the head man in the room who said ‘point taken but we will still be doing it'.

Absolutely disappointed in my stay.. I can't believe I paid to stay in a room that I didn't even fall aslee in. The bedding caused hives on my body.. I was itching all night. The sound from the upstairs walking around had me up at 4 am.. I had to call reception ask them for new bedding as could not sleep due to the bedding, I was passed the sheets to change them myself. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone and can not believe I was not offered an incentive or some sort of discount for my troubles. Will never recommend this hotel .. if I could give it a zero star I would

We held our work Christmas party here on 16/12/17, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was lovely, and the singer/dj was brilliant. I stayed in room 105, which had a patio onto the golf course. The room was huge, with a very comfortable bed. Only downside was breakfast. I'd ordered this to be delivered to the room 09:00-09:30, and it never arrived. We will definitely be looking to book again next year

Excellent first impressions badly let down by room items not working (bedside lamp, toilet roll holder) and a completely awful breakfast (food nearly all cold, no white bread for toast, poor response when we complained)

Stayed here recently when attending a pre-Christmas function, the hotel itself was warm and clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Room was rather average but there were no complaints, smokers be advised the upper level rooms have private balconies which might be very useful to you. Breakfast was good, would stay here again for the purpose of a function. In terms of the Christmas party function - not really worth the money, the food was pretty bad on all courses, the so called 'drinks package' was a joke (paying an extra £25 per head for unlimited drinks) seeing as there was not enough bar staff for the hundred or so guests you spent more time queuing than anything. The burger van at the end of the night was a touch of genius though, and well needed as the 3 course meal hadn't really been enough.

Breakfast member of staff was not very polite, other staff members were helpful, beer was not good had an off taste. Room where clean breakfast was OK only had available 1 type of juice. Location was good.

I have just returned from spending one night at the hotel having attended my works Christmas party. The hotel itself is very pleasant, as you would expect from a 4*rated hotel. However, even though I am not a fussy eater, I am sad to say that the Xmas meal was the worst I have ever had in my whole life. Every course was exceptionally poor quality. I would not have eaten it had it not been that I was extremely hungry as the meal arrived very late and I had drank several alcoholic drinks. Everyone in my part was of the same opinion, some people couldn't even eat it. The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel. On the plus side the quality of the food was good, however, the temperature of the food was barely tepid. We would have complained but we were so hungry after the tiny meal the night before that we ate it quickly and left. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and polite, just a shame about the very disappointing food. I will not be returning and would not be able to recommend this hotel as a Xmas party venue.

Had a Christmas lunch for pensioners it was fantastic value and we had an amazing time, I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I definitely look forward to our next visit.what we like about this Hotel it is very welcoming and the staff are very pleasant and helpful they cannot do enough for you. So I am looking forward to our next visit which will be Christmas Day for lunch.

We all had a great time, hotel, food & Spa treatments were fantastic, The Hotel is situated in its own grounds with beautiful views ?? Quite a large car park which is free of charge ?? We will be back soon ??

Came here for works Xmas dinner. Hotel room and breakfast was superb. Unfortunately the Xmas dinner and drinks package was absolutely shocking. Dinner portions were tiny. Put fine dining to shame and drinks were vile. Never heard of the spirits and the carling on tap was awful. Never again..

Went to a wedding here last night for our family, wedding reception itself was fabulous and the rooms we stayed in were ok. Main thing was disabled room took an extra 30 minutes to wait for it to be ready. Which for my disabled mother in law was not ideal atall. Bring on the morning after the wedding, considering alot of us stayed there and were also having breakfast the next morning you would think the hotel would be prepared for this. First of all we waited most 20 minutes for a table to sit down for breakfast. When taken to our table which was round the corner there were ATLEAST 14 tables sitting there empty with just cups and plates on (minimal mess which could be cleaned quickly) which to us was awful. why make us wait 20 minutes when you have numerous tables sitting there empty that just need a very quick clean. were not fussy, just hungry, move the plates and cups?! Once seated after grabbing our food we wete all trying to find tea/coffee, there was a young waitress that came over to tidy a table (not that she actually ever did tidy it) so one of our party asked if it was possible for us to have a hot drink.... the eye roll and tut received by this girl was heard by all...she didnt even try to hide it...once she came back with it she ACTUALLY sighed and asked what we wanted....gobsmacked...if you dont like your job..move on! Especially when ypu have wedding guests there which considering how much the bride and groom spent at your establishment you should be treating everyone alot better than you did. I would be appalled if my guests wete treated the same. Food was substandard...rock hard bacon...cold egg...but we shoveled it down anyways. Think you just need to think a bit smarter in the future. 14 tables left empty is not a good enough reason for us to be waiting. And for the young waitress...she definatly needs some.more hospitality training or something...even just a few life lessons on being nice would do it!

A good hotel with leisure and golf facilities. Tidy rooms but of those I have stayed in there has always been lamps out, heating not working. A mixture of beds, some incredibly soft, some medium and sized from doubles to what can only be described as quadruples. Friendly staff, once they realise you are in the Bar wanting something to eat.

Having family work at the hotel this review may seem biased but I will be as honest as i can like all my reviews. Firstly the welcome you receive is second to none, very pleasant, happy, chatty staff that have time to acknowledge you. We stayed in a twin (room 40) several parties going on during our 2 night stay, yet we hardly heard a thing once in bed, beds were comfy and room nice and warm. Breakfast was what you expect, buffet style help yourself but plenty on and very nice. The pool, sauna and steam room are an added bonus to sweat that beer out the next day. Did not use the gym or spa, but believe the gym is being upgraded soon. We also played golf on the Saturday, the course may not be the longest in the world but its certainly a challenge, and the greens are superb, special mention to Bob the starter in the golf up, such a lovely guy and Lewis who works behind the golf/Leisure counter again a great young lad, a credit to the business to have no doubt. We will be back to see the gym improvements and play the golf course on a nice sunny day in the summer, keep up the good work guys, always made to feel more than welcome when we visit.

On the face of things, this hotel is ok. We had a pleasant clean room located in one of the lodges, separate to the main hotel building. What was disappointing was we turned up having made our booking through Booking.com for what I'd thought was bed and breakfast to find that breakfast was not included. Apparently a common fault with this site, so why hasn't the hotel made sure their customers are correctly and accurately informed, breakfast not included. Although, we discovered later, the room did have tea and coffee facilities hidden in a cupboard, my partner and I ordered a tea and coffee through room service. We could have waited till hell froze over, as nothing was received. Apart from these mildly annoying points our stay and breakfast were good.

Just spent 3 nights here as part of a training package. Individual served rooms with door opening out onto walkways externally and the hotel grounds. Nice room, good size, clean, tidy. Plenty of towels in the bathroom, spare blankets and pillows if needed. Road noise was a bit loud, but as a group of engineers, we all compared notes and found that the road nose seems to come through the bathroom extract fan, so keep your bathroom door closed and it's very quiet! Food very good. Restaurant lacks 'atmosphere', so most of us used the cellar bar which has more of a 'quiet pub' feel to it. Couple of big screens for TV, and good range of food, reasonably priced. Good breakfast buffet too, but this is served in the restaurant. Didn't use any of the other facilities at this location, but all in all an enjoyable stay not far from the training venue. I'd use the Windmill again for work or myself for a few days stay.

Wow! We have been for spa days and weekends at a few different hotel and locations and this has by far been the best. We came for a spa weekend and were able to use the spa facilities from 11am on Saturday until 10pm on Sunday, despite only being able to check in to the hotel at 3pm on the Saturday! They gave us a padlock for our stuff in the spa which was a great touch and we could choose to have lunch on the Saturday or Sunday. The treatments were great, all the ladies were kind and had brilliant customer service skills! Would like to mention Paige especially who was so professional and attentive and completed both mine and my friends treatments. We had the facial, manicure and back, neck and shoulder massage, all of which were great! The food was amazing, some of the best we've ever had and the staff in the restaurant were great, very on the ball! The room was lovely with a view of the golf course and the bed was really comfortable! Overall a great stay and we will definitely be back for the same again in the future! Thank you for a great weekend!

Stayed in the cottage type rooms.... Well equipped..... cosy..... pleasant decor...... with my collie Blue who also enjoyed his new abode for a couple of days! Beautiful surrounding golf course... very picturesque..... and great facilities to relax in..... Had dinner for the two nights..... food really good.... Staff helpful and accommodating.... overall lovely stay ??

My wife and I got married here last year so for our first year anniversary I decide to come back to the Windmill because I found it to be the best hotel friendly staff and they made us all feel comfortable for that day. Rooms are always spotless. I would recommend this to anybody to have a wedding here

Can't do burgers to customer requirements... And why can't you plug your phone in next your bed????? 90% of people use their phone for everything..including an alarm... . Only plugs on the other side of the room... Terrible layout... I can charge my phone near the bed only if I have the lights on... Shocking

I have been staying here for over 20 years. Always had a good room but tonight so disappointed. What have you done to my top ten hotel? Food disappointing, room sub standard, shower dirty, room ok but miles away from amenities. Staff at check in dismissive. Sad!!!

Stayed here Saturday night, I cannot fault the hotel, staff, food or pool. All was excellent. Beautiful view from the room. The standard of hospitality from the staff is top class. Pool area is very atmospheric. The food can be faulted. And the room was just stunning. Totally recommend

Weekend stay to go to a conference and show at the NEC, which is only a 15 minute drive away. The hotel is on the outskirts of Coventry with fine views of the countryside across the golf course. The rooms are nice, and ours had a lovely view directly onto the golf course with doors out onto a patio - would be really nice in summer. Breakfast is a buffet selection and has a nice variety of things to have - very good! Evening meals are in the Fairways restaurant or the Cellar bar - we ate in the Cellar bar, which is pretty much the same menu, and the food was excellent!

Good food and a clean room, you can't ask for more in my opinion. The layout of the room was a bit tight but all in all "not bad" Will stay again and may even try out the other facilities. The staff were great and location was just right.

Joke of a hotel. Charged us for not turning up for a room that we didn't even book. Hotel double booked our room for wedding party then had the cheek to charge us for their mistake. Tried to dispute it, but obviously the £70 was more important to them. Lacking in customer service skills. AVOID unless you want to go home and find extra charges taken from your account.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel on a spa break. When we arrived we were seen straight away and given a room on the ground floor. The room was was not a bad size and well equipped. We had asked for a twin room but found we had a double bed. The receptionist said that they would sort it out for us. They did. A member of the housekeeping team came to look at the bed set up and said that they would sort it out whilst we had our evening meal, which they did. The leisure facilities were really good with a good sized steam room and sauna. We ate in the restaurant and was really surprised at the variety and quality of the food which was beautifully and tasted great. The staff were very professional and attentive. We had booked treatments in the spa which we really enjoyed and then had lunch in the bar area. There is a separate room where spa goers in robes can eat lunch and relax. Everything was well organised and the experience really enjoyable. I would definitely go again.

Stayed here for 3 nights as we were on a course in Coventry, single room in the main building was small but very comfortable and warm, good sized bathroom with excellent power shower over bath. Ate every night in the cellar bar, the food and service equally exceptional, super friendly staff both at front desk and restaurant/bar...a credit to the hotel. Would totally recommend.

We had a voucher for a Spa Day with cream tea for two and booked in for a Monday. Up front I have to say that the staff were lovely from the guys manning the shop in the golf and spa area, to the two lovely girls in the spa itself and the servers in the restaurant. The treatments we both had in the spa were great and the pool, sauna and steam room facilities were good. One tiny whinge is that they had no towelling robes so we couldn't do the proper spa thing of wandering round partially dressed! A slightly bigger whinge concerns the food. We had breakfast in the restaurant and felt that the pastries were not Sunday best, and the cream tea was the tiniest one we have ever had. Nonetheless, the lovely staff and great facilities would justify a return visit.

We arrived on the Friday evening; booked in to our family room. Tried to book a table in the fairways restaurant, could not have a table until 9pm with a 2 year old. We waited an hour, only to be told they had forgotten our daughters meal so we had a further wait. Food was then dry and cold; no way 4*!! Our room had various faults including a hole in the wall by the curtains, broken curtains. The bath never filled completley filled even though the plug was fully in. At night we were so hot. Saturday nights meal was just as bad; the waiter put my daughters meal down for her on the edge of her high chair. The highchair was faulty and the meal ended up sliding through the highchair on to the floor. Service was even worse thie evening. The staff could not cope with the volume of guests. The restaurant was under staff and it felt like larger parties were prioritised. Again food was dry and over priced. Breakfast both days was fair and a good choice for everyone from cereal, pastries amd continental breakfast to full english. Staff were quick to bring tea and coffee. Sunday morning we were woken at 6am by the golf course grass being mown...way to early. Not a family friendly place, it was a real shame! Probably would have been better at a premier Inn

Stayed a few months ago with my husband we arrived in the pouring rain to be greeted immediatly by staff with an umbrella over us ive never had such amazing staff and asked us if thete was anything else they could do to help

I will do the good bits first. the room and the public were clean the gardens around the hotel kept well. We stayed in a standard room which backed onto the A45. You could hear the traffic at times but not too bad. The worst thing about the room was the noise from other guests above and the fact that if the room above had a bath before you there was no hot water for you. The shower was more of a trickle. We had breakfast on Saturday morning which was charged at £12.95 each. Again disappointing as the buffet was not kept stocked up and service was poor not good value at all. How does an English hotel run out of marmalade. We braved the restaurant in the evening again service was poor don't bother with a starter or desert as we have never experienced such poor portion size in our travels. The quality of the food was good but think it had been kept under the heat lamps too long. Wine was overpriced and the red wine chilled not good. Staff were best described by my wife as sterile without personality. Never once asked if everything was ok. Which was probably not a bad thing as they may have got both barrels Needless to say we never bothered with breakfast in the hotel on Sunday. We check out, again nothing was asked if everything was ok which was just as well because due to the lack of hot water I had not been able to shower. We will not be back, premier in has more going for it than this place.

Disgusted with this golf complex and the service that was provided! Wouldn't recommend it to anyone! They do not offer equal opportunities to people with disabilities and the golf course is a glorified pitch and putt!!! Will never return. Disappointed in this Best Western!

Had a 2 night stay here as guests at a wedding. The room was nice and big with lots of furniture in. Main drawback was that there was no fridge/mini bar in the room. Also, struggled to get hairdryer out if a very tight drawer! The actual hotel was lovely and clean and the staff were mainly helpful. Sam, one of the wedding coordinators was a "diamond", nothing was too much trouble. Had breakfast in with the price, friend eggs were top notch! Poached eggs good and lively smoked haddock along with a full buffet. We would stay again. Cellar bar very expensive.

I was here for five nights as part of a meeting. Overall this is an old hotel that they've tried to keep up to date. The staff was great, particularly William, one of the bartenders in the Cellar Pub. Great Britain isn't know for its air conditioning but at least shut the heat off when it is hot outside. This week it was raining off and on but the heat was full blast wherever I went. In my room I had to open the window, turn the fan on high, place it on the window sill and sleep on top of the bed and even then I woke up soaked in sweat. Our meeting rooms were even worse, unbearable at times. Food in the main restaurant was awful, particularly the breakfast and the sunny side eggs that they poach in oil. Just awful. The poached haddock was the worst I've had anywhere in GB. Lunch one day for our group consisted of a puddle of lamb. While tasty the servers were rude. I cannot recommend this location.

had a really good stay at this hotel staff very attentive and helpful room very clean but the bed was not as comfortable as i would have liked food excellent if you are wanting to go into the town it is quite a distance so if you don't have a car it is about £15-18 in a taxi one way there is public transport but at 30 minute intervals not sure of the cost of journey and a short walk to the bus stop of approximately 10 mins

We have no reservations in recommending a stay at this hotel with its easy access for a variety of places in the Midlands. Its actually a bonus if you don't play golf (which we don't) as you can be assured good views from the rooms overlooking the golf course. Add to that, good food and good service you're assured of a really relaxing break. Bonus is the pool and ofcourse golf - if you play.

Visited here this weekend for an event that was being held. The hotel and the surroundings are stunning! My friend who was accompanying has recently given birth and is breastfeeding, the staff did not hesitate to provide her with a private room in order for her to express her milk. Incredible views. All staff were lovely, really helpful and happy - which makes a change from helpful because they have to be like you get at most places. Would definitely recommend.

Went to stop at Best Western Windmill hotel and spa resort going on the understanding we were paying for a 4 star hotel. I have stopped in better travel lodges. Dated, overpriced and run down with suspicious stains running down the wall. Bathroom light didn't work and neither did the tv. Very very rude reception staff.

We were caught in the traffic accident on the M5, for over 5 and a half hours, we were sent off the motorway with no directions and no idea what was happening, so we parked up for a couple of hours hoping to find a way home or back onto the motorway. No such luck, however it was getting dark so we decided to try and find a place to stay with two dogs it is pretty hard. After nearly half an hour I rang this hotel, the girl was lovely and gave good directions, it was only £97.00 for the night with breakfast, amazing, plus we missed anything to eat in the restaurant, and she informed us of room service, so we got Tikka Massala and I got Chicken Ceaser Salad with anchovies, lovely. Went for breakfast and it was amazing, you could not get a better breakfast, waffles bacon black pudding, you name it they had it. In fact I am going to check every one of these hotels and use them from now on.

I was in this hotel for less than an hour due to the depressing shoe box room with a broken radiator and heated towel rail and so the room was very cold. I called reception for someone to take a look and it was late in the evening. No-one came for 20 minutes so I arranged to stay at another hotel. When I asked for a refund it was denied and they charged me £175 a night for 2 nights. I was promised that I could speak to the general manager but instead had someone less senior than him talk to me who could not authorise the refund. I was promised a call back which I did not receive and so I had to call back myself.

I purchased this afternoon tea voucher from Groupon for a friend's birthday. I was expecting it to be a lovely experience for her and a friend to enjoy after she had just experienced a bad time. I was really disappointed when I asked her how she found it. She said the choices of sandwiches were limited and her friend didn't like egg and asked for an alternative but was told she couldn't have anything as a substitute. I thought this was very mean and not very customer friendly. I have been to many places for afternoon tea and I do not eat egg or salmon but have always been given substitutes. I will not be buying another one of these as a gift.

We recently had a night at this hotel we were going to stop at another hotel until we read the reviews on it. We found this hotel due to a recommendation from friends who had previously stopped here. We chose a executive room that over looked the golf course. It was quite spacious and very clean with a lovely view over the golf course with a little patio with chairs out side to sit on while having a morning coffee. The only down side was we had breakfast delivered to our room and by the time it arrived it was stone cold and could not be eaten.

The hotel was clean and staff helpfull. It is in a good location for the NEC and Birmingham. As it has a golf course it would suit people who play the game. Would stay again if in the area. Breakfast could of been much better by just being hot!

Arrived at the hotel around 6pm. My friend and I had booked a room each for two nights. We were given rooms in one of the annexes and the rooms we were allocated were next door to each other as requested. The trouble was the electrics were faulty as although a couple of the lights worked which didn't include the main light, none of the electric plugs worked. We were swiftly moved to two more rooms in another annex. These were both very damp smelling and had mould on the linings of the curtains. We requested two more rooms and were moved once again to another annex. Each time we left the rooms, when we returned the key cards no longer worked, which meant another trip to the reception to get them working again. Not easy when you are not very mobile. On leaving we requested a telephone call from the manager as we were very dissatisfied with our stay but a few weeks later have heard nothing. We would never stay at this hotel again, but I must add that the staff were lovely and the food was fine.

The room was good, however the adjacent golf green was mowed at 06.00 with a motor mower, this was a Saturday morning! This added to the fact that the room had no internet. Also beware of the hot water. The restaurant meal, on the first night was poor. A tasteless chicken dish and a sirloin steak which was average. The chips were awful, enormous lumps of oil soaked potatoes which were uncooked at the centre. The Saturday breakfast was shared with a large wedding party and an excited gang, of approximately 30 golfers. The staff could not cope and the noise unbearable. The food was also rushed with under cooked eggs. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, although we were assured the room had Wifi, no one checked even though we were told this would be investigated. We will not be booking again.

First class hotel with a good bar and restaurant Golf course good I can certainly recommend it especially for an all in weekend break Good car parking and facilities 12 of us went for a golfing weekend and found the organisation first class

Returned this year for a conference with work. It's a lovey hotel and has really good facilities. The room I had was in need of upgrading to be honest but was still quite nice. Food is lovely, service is good and the facilities are also good.

Came here for the afternoon tea as a birthday treat from "my girls". There were 8 of us altogether and were seated on a circular table in the beautiful Fairways restaurant. Service was prompt, our order taken and our food and drinks swiftly brought to our table. There was a lovely selection of freshly made sandwiches, assorted cakes and fruit scones with plenty of jam and clotted cream. We were each given our own large pot of tea or coffee. We had a lovely afternoon and didn't feel rushed. A lovely hotel with efficient staff. Will certainly recommend.

On the website it say free guest wifi but m at hotel right now and have called reception twice to let them know that there is no wifi in my room to no avail......pissed of. If you are booking at this hotel don't expect to get wifi in all rooms

Myself, my wife and two young children stayed for one night. The room was large, as was the bathroom. The shower was nice and powerful, and the room provided facilities such as iron, hairdryer and TV. It was a quiet room, probably due to the thick solid walls! The swimming pool and jacuzzi is really nice, well kept and very clean. Children can use it until 6pm. Food at the Cellar bar was great and the service was excellent. Afterwards we sat outside overlooking the golf course after the meal, which was nice. Breakfast was equally as good as the evening meal, though it was served in the restaurant this time. They had a mix of quality hot food, continental, cereal and fruit. All in all, I can't really fault this hotel (apart from the wifi being weak in the hotel room and the decor a bit late 90's, but really, who cares?!?!). I would though ensure you ask for a room not overlooking the main road, which is quite busy. We had a room overlooking the golf course which was really quiet. Very impressed. I'd recommend this hotel.

Things that did not work, heated swimming pool, hut tub. After deciding that I could cope with a cool swim I asked for a towel to have a swim. I couldn't have a swim as they didn't have a padlock for me to lock my belongings away. Service was poor, I asked for water then I arrived (as per the instructions in my room). One hour later I was still waiting, I had to walk to reception on the way to get my evening meal to ask for it again. I did address these things on check out and was offered a discount.

I stayed twice at the Windmill whilst participating to a training course in Meriden. The hotel is quite comfortable and well serviced. There is a large Golf course, though I do not play myself. I stayed in two different rooms and though the bed are comfortable, the bathroom were quaint and the bath taps in need of refurbishment - never mind the awful 'shower' curtain. I found the gym facility superior to most hotels I have visited recently. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great, with a large choice of English breakfasts, omelettes, continental and cereals. Dining at the Fairway restaurant was not my favourite. However I really enjoyed the food and choices at the Cellar below. Service can be a little slow but the staff was helpful, polite and very welcoming there too.

Stopped here for one night and it was lovely. The facilities were great, we used the pool etc and it was very relaxing. The room was lovely and the bed very comfy. The decor around this hotel was lovely. Would recommend to anyone.

Stayed here night before and night of wedding. Good value. Friday classed as 'shoulder night' for only £42.50 for double room with breakfast for two! Staff great particularly in Cellar Bar Friday evening catering for 24 all paying in small groups. Well done. Lovely venue. Pool good. Golf course played. Good time was had by all. Reservations team efficient and all worked well considering so many changes over the previous months. Thank you.

Myself and a friend fancied going ob a little spa break without having to pay a fortune. Through spaseekers we came across the best western plus the windmill and looking at photos, it seemed like a beautiful place which it is. The biggest let down for us both was that tohe heating system was clearly broken. Either that or the card slot system was faulty. The receptionist failed to answer the phone despite me ringoing for quite a few minutes. If she couldn't have answered, fetch someone to take the call. To not answer is a bit ignorant. She did guve me another card which STILL didn't work!! The room in itself was lovely with beautiful furniture. Staff need to respond better to customer concerns.

Absolutely fantastic wedding at the Windmill Hotel. Sam and the team did a great job throughout. Kept everything on plan and made for a most special day. The ceremony in the chapel was great, better than a church, the food great and back-drop for the photos impressive. Thank you and well done.

Stayed here for one night on business. This is definitely not 4 star standards I was allocated a "lodge" which was terribly dated, woodchip wallpaper with holes on the walls, old furniture, ensuite had black mold where the bath joined on to the tiles bathroom towels where old (no fluffiness) just off white. My early morning wakeup call never materialised! Needless to say I won't be staying here again!

Travelling from Birmingham, it was difficult to find the hotel as there is no signage from the direction we travelled from so it took getting lost to find it. On arrival we had been promised a 'room with a view' sadly it was a view of the car park but to give credit where credit is due the receptionist changed the room. Wi-Fi in the room was very poor but I could not comment on the public areas. We had a reasonably comfortable night however there was a lot of noise and doors banging. Breakfast was very poor and the hotel does obviously not cater for people with disabilities because the rooms are some way from the restaurant. A lady in a wheelchair ended up getting lost outside and struggled getting access into the restaurant. The breakfast plates were cold but that's ok because so was the food from the hot plate! A chipped milk jug on our table left us wondering about bacteria and many customers were having to take napkins and cutlery from other tables. The floor around the servery was very sticky and it looked as though it had been mopped with dirty water. The service was not great in fact at one point a member of staff barged his way past us without any acknowledgement. One member of breakfast staff was going above and beyond her duties and made sure we were attended to. Her name was Millie and actually she was the only one to say goodbye as we left the restaurant. To be fair we used Tesco clubcard vouchers for this trip so whilst I cannot complain too much I feel the £6 we spent on the stay was a fair price for what we received.

Stayed here last weekend with my partner for her birthday, we had an upgraded room to a suit was really nice room with a balcony overlooking the golf course. We had also booked in the restaurant for 3 course meal. The food and service was exceptional. We would defiantly stay here again.

Not sure what to say. Ok, it was comfortable and clean and the service was fine, although help with the bags would have been nice. Moreover, having booked an executive room, I was slightly disappointed at the size of the room and bathroom. ( a little too cramped, I'm afraid to say.) However, it had a nice view over the golf course and access to a shared terrace. The room service was efficient but regrettably the food was average. I know a salad can be hard to be made exciting but nevertheless a plate full of lettuce with a few croutons thrown in is not my idea of appealing. Still, got a good nights sleep which is the main thing. Therefore, not too bad.

Had a Spa Day today, all the staff were lovely and very helpful, the treatment area and the treatments were excellent, lunch was really good, downfall was the pool area was very noisy with young children and we could not relax, changing room area was very small, I would rate this as a leisure club not a spa

Accommodation marginally above average. Bar was good, food was below average. After staying at the hotel for last 8 yrs, the choice of food has declined, with minimal choice for main meals. The restaurant was become very 'franchised'. Service from hotel & leisure staff was good. Golf course excellent.

Stayed here for a Family wedding last month, Bedroom was clean with standard equipment. Staff were pleasant and helpful no More no less. The event itself was stunning being ran by the Hotel so convenient to stay over with the dates being reasonable for that time. Definitely recommend

Fabulous loved the professional feel of the place lovely coffee arean too very clean all staff were helpful and lovely .The breakfast was great. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The restaurant staff were excellent and the food was first class, always hot.

Comfortable beds and lovely room overlooking golf course. No air con in the room though apart from a noisy fan. Ate in the Cellar Bar which was good and breakfast in the main restaurant which was excellent and had a good choice. If we were ever in the area again we would stay again if only to explore the hotel grounds and spa.

Noisy guests repeatedly congregating in corridors until gone 2am while the doors slam continuously. Hotel features are nice and grounds are lovely although we didn't explore due to weather. Wouldn't stay overnight again when you get such poor sleep due to noise.

Had a fab time at this hotel lovely comfortable beds and a nice clean pool, the afternoon tea was really nice and the breakfast one of the best I've had they even did fresh omelette!!! All staff were curtious and helpful, the grounds are lovely and golfers looked very happy the pub area does great reasonably priced food too the burger was very good quality I'd definitely stay again

The bedroom doors slam, even when held. This became very annoying when our next door neighbour seemed to be in and out all afternoon. No air con in the room but provided with a noisy but efficient fan. Room next to lift, so also noisy all day and night. Iron in room was useless and hairdryer a pain to use as needed to hold button on continually. Stayed in a few Best Westerns, this was my least favourite and will not be returning.

It's an average hotel, however I didn't play golf nor used the spa, so can't comment on those. It's a bit dated place, however clean and with nice, helpful staff. Breakfast was average, not enough to choose from. Eggs (scrambled) were tasteless, didn't even look appetising. Ordered an omelette which was quite nice. The breakfast room was extremely hot, almost unbearable yet it wasn't a hot day-it seemed like there was no ventilation.

Great throughout from the moment that you book in at reception where friendly staff are on hand to talk you through your stay and what they have to offer. Clean, bright and well planned layout. The rooms are separate from the main hotel reception and restaurant/bar. Instead you have what can only be described as little house type rooms built from reclaimed bricks and your very own front door. Inside a big king size bed, wall mounted to, trouser press, double robe, iron and ironing board along with the usual tea/ coffee facilities too. Bed really comfortable, plenty of sockets to charge phones and laptops etc. Bathroom house a walk in shower and a sink and toilet. Whilst the bathroom is small it is functional. The restaurant is great with hot fresh and appetising menu to meet the needs of any hungry traveller. Great bar and bar service with attentive staff all makes for a pleasant stay. One night with BB was £129 so not bad. You won't regret booking this location. Comes with free wifi too. Have a great stay

Really enjoyed our stay. We had room 215 overlooking the golf course. Stayed 22.06.17 - 25.06.17. Friendly helpful staff, clean & everything you could want in the room. We had complimentary fruit & soft drinks. The hotel pool was COLD. Bed a little soft for me. Would book again. Wonderful gardens.

Visited here recently with me and a friend for a spa day as a thank you gift Welcome arrival was very pleasant and the spa therapists told us everything we needed to know about our day. We even had towel and robes given to us. The treatments were fantastic and both our therapists were professional and lovely. The prices were very reasonable. We had 2 x treatments each, full use of the leisure facilities And lunch with a glass of prosecco. We were both very relaxed and the facilities were lovely swimming pool jacuzzi sauna and steam room Lunch was lovely and the weather was gorgeous so we sat outside .. all the staff were again very professional and welcoming. Gorgeous grounds and amazing staff. Treatments could not be faulted and even returning next month for another spa day for a baby shower.. Thank you to all staff involved we had an amazing day.

Stayed here on business, pleasant hotel with nice surroundings. Good facilities including a nice bar with tables outside, a pool and a gym. Room was ok, bit dated but everything you need and was clean. Very powerful shower in bathroom.

Stayed for one night to watch concert at Ricoh, and were met by welcoming staff, a very nice room with huge comfy bed, excellent, clean bathroom and quiet location. Bar service was a little too in your face but nothing a quick chat at your team brief won,t sort out. Excellent late team who organised drinks for us at 1am! Lovely breakfast in comfy dining room, again just needed an ounce of oomph from the staff in terms of service speed but all in all defiantly very good. I'd recommend, just check out the location as it can get expensive if using taxis.

Would highly recommend this hotel, had a beautiful view of the golf course from my room which included a balcony. Everywhere is kept clean and tidy. Lovely seating area outside the bar which is great for the hot weather, all staff we met were friendly and always smiling. Spa area has had a refurb and looks fab!! claire and rob were lovely and helpful. Great gym,pool and sauna. Will definitely be returning

Myself and my partner have just checked out today and had a horrible time. I booked the celebratory spa package deal for his birthday. We checked in and then went to have lunch. A drink was included with the deal. We ordered our food at 2.45 and it was given to us at 3.30. When we had asked after a half hour where our food was they said it was because of the burger. We ordered another drink whilst waiting. When we were leaving we said to the restaurant manager that we waited far too long and that we would not be paying for the extra drink we each had. This was fine and the drink was free of charge. However he told that we had not waited 45mins, pretty much said we had lied. The sheet that we ordered from had 2.45pm written on it so I don't think we did. Next we went to the spa and as there was 2 large groups in a hen party (approx 20 people) we felt like we were invading their private pool party. We couldn't use the Jacuzzi as this is where they were all sitting. A group of 3 ladies complained due to the noise and the hen partys kept it a bit quieter. My partner had a neck back and shoulder massage and I had the manicure. He loved his treatment. Mine on the other hand looks like a 6 year old painted my nails. They are all smudged as you can see from the pictures. Two ladies had come in to get theirs redone whilst I was waiting due to the same issue. Dinner service was appalling. Again the restaurant manager showed us to out table but didn't inform us which option we had with our package deal. We had to wait 10mins and flag down a waitress and ask. She then had to go and ask the same guy who sat us down. Why couldn't he just tell us. 25mins later we still didn't have water on the table or be asked if we would like a drink. Just really awful. None of the servers had a zone so they could just concentrate on their own tables. The young guy in his 20s with spiky hair repeatedly ignored us as we tried to get his attention. Our gin came out with no ice also so they had to go off and get ice. We then were taking a bottle of wine to the room. We paid and asked for an ice bucket. Their ice machine had broken. Walking to the room someon3 from a wedding party had been sick and a member of staff was cleaning this. Breakfast the next morning we took our seats and no-one came to offer us tea or coffee. We watched them go to every other table but ours. I got up and got our own then. On check out we complained about everything mentioned above. The lady who we spoke to was genuinely upset that we had a terrible time. Extras were removed from the room bill and I am due an email from the spa regarding my nails and what can be done. I'm glad I didn't pay the £20 for them as they are so badly done. Also the rooms are old, our curtains were hanging off. Room 313

When you think of Coventry you think of an industrial waste land of car factories. Forget that image; this delightful hotel is only a few miles from the city centre yet surrounded by countryside. There is a feeling of spaciousness compared to typical city hotels. The room and bed was a bit small for the price, but nevertheless spotlessly clean room with all the expected hotel accessories. The pool is large for a hotel poll, with a view from one end over the golf course. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Hotel spa is lovely, very professional and under good management. I had a massage and would defiantly recommend this treatment which was given by spa manager Paige. Easy going, approachable staff along with clean and relaxing environment. Defiantly recommend!!

Excellent hotel didn't meet one member of staff who didn't smile and say hello. Beautiful towels and comfortable beds. Excellent food ,excellent choice at breakfast with thoughtful and helpful staff.Room very well equipped. Restaurants and lounge and some rooms overlook the stunning grounds. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

Food was nice spa treatments were good . The pool and sauna was cold . The showered were freezing so cold we didn't go in . The floor around poo and in changing room were totally filthy . When we asked the staff about cold water they were aware but never put noticed up and when we said the floor was dirty they sarcastically said thank you . Not a quality spa .

We stayed here for three nights at the end of May in one of the cheaper rooms. The two best things about the hotel are the Staff and the views. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful and made our stay pleasurable. The views over the golf course with its lake and surrounding countryside were pleasure to see. Our room was clean, satisfactory and the beds were comfortable. It was a hot week-end and there was no air-conditioning but it was possible to open the windows and a fan was provided and proved to be adequate. The TV was fine and the usual toiletries and tea-making facilities were provided, though no fridge. The internet was free, fast and reliable. Our only complaint concerned the menu. We were staying on B&B with an evening meal included. This was served in the Fairways Restaurant – a very pleasant room with good views of the surrounding countryside. The food itself was fine and breakfast was very good. All the waiters were helpful but Gyorgy was particularly attentive and friendly. The problem was with the dinner menu which never changed! It was exactly the same on each of the three nights we were there. Fortunately we are not vegetarians as only one inclusive choice would have been available. There is more choice of meals in the bar area but we were not allowed to use our pre-paid 3-course plan to eat there. This was a pity as it took the edge off of what would have been a very nice stay. This said it was a good place to stay and easy to get into Coventry. We were able to leave the car and take the X1 bus into town.

This hotel is lovely. The grounds are beautiful and the grounds before the entrance are gorgeous too. Unfortunately when we arrived the manager told us that we had not been booked in. Luckily my mum had printed out confirmation of our booking as we had booked through a third party (Spa Seekers) and they had made a booking with someone called Kim. However the manager kept telling us that this was not the case and couldn't understand why it wasn't on the system. Anyway, after a couple of minutes she said she would try and sort something out. In the end we had 2 session times with an opportunity to eat lunch in the middle. This was fine and the manager was a lot of help but obviously started off our day in a bad note. My back massage and facial was perfect and the lady clearly knew what she was doing. Lunch was also gorgeous I had the house salad at the cellar bar which was beautiful, sat looking over the golf course. After this my mum had her treatments (20 minutes late after being ushered to the pool) whilst I sat by the pool and used the facilities (sauna/steam/jacuzzi) which were nice but not amazing. The public can also use these facilities, so it is not just for spa users, however we didn't mind this as it wasn't too busy. Once my mum had finished her treatments, we compared. We figured that both our treatments were very different, both enjoyed them, but were different. We decided this was a positive thing as they all had their own styles and adapted to what we wanted (although I did want the bean bag on my face lol!) Overall, the manager was very helpful and we were grateful for her assistance. The therapists were lovely and the treatments were good. There is a severe lack of attention to detail in that there's no water/herbal tea readily available for spa users (which you usually get at spas), you only get a cup if asked. The used towel and robe bin was overflowing and the first thing you see as you enter. The pools general upkeep seem to be lacking, dirty floor, equipment on show, vents missing in pool etc. Only 4 beds available so people had to sit on chairs or on floor. Overall 3/5. Had a nice time but nothing spectacular and in the grand scheme of things- probably isn't good value for money as we only got 2x25 min treatments where as we have paid less elsewhere for 2x45 min treatments.

Was in great need of some relaxation so stayed here for the spa. Pros Really nice steam room and was generally pretty quiet. Massage treatment was nice. Cons When I first walked into the spa it was really slippy with no warning signs so I immediately slipped and fell. There were towels all over the floor which wasn't great for first impressions. The pool was freezing as was the jacuzzi. Personally I've never been to a spa and experienced a cold jacuzzi so was really disappointed about this. Only warm place was the steam room. I waited half an hour for my husband to have a treatment which I was happy to do but the waiting area was pretty poor. Was hoping for a herbal tea or a magazine or something to occupy the time but there was nothing. The changing rooms were filthy and there was a rather large queue to use the 1 hairdryer that was there as apparently the other had been stolen. All in all pretty disappointed.

Wonderful staff, room and food. Spa treatments were excellent but there was no where to relax. The pool area was inappropriate. The pool and Jacuzzi tiles were dirty, there was no water drinks machine by the pool and only 4 uncomfortable wooden recliners, one of which was broken.

I recently visited the best western plus to enjoy a relaxing spa break. What a massive disappointment!!! The spa manager was rude and clearly wanted to go home early as on our arrival we were asked to bring our 5 o'clock massages forward. Then 15 minutes before our appointment she came over and told us her therapist was unwell and would be unable to do the massage booked but could do a short treatment. It was rushed and unpleasant not the experience I expected. Shame as the hotel looks lovely the so called spa lets it down.

Stayed one night on a weekend. Nice setting, friendly staff, easy to park and a good breakfast all in relatively quiet surroundings- but a huge negative is the very thin walls of the room. Also the door hinges cause all the doors to 'slam' unless physically held to 'soft close' . We were in the main hotel. We could hear people talking/laughing/watching Tv either side and it was worse through the night hours when trying to sleep. Whilst this is of course not the fault of other considerate guests it is unfortunate and caused sleep issues. This was sadly compounded for us as there was a function in the hotel and we had been placed within the corridor of party guests who went on to have a party in the room next door at 10-11pm and again 1-2.30. Not happy. Tired parents & child :(

Spent the weekend at the windmill hotel with 3 friends celebrating a hen pamper break. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly attentive and helpful. The 3 course meal was of a high standard and very tasty, and well presented. The hotel was so clean and the view from our room was breathtaking. We are so glad we chose this hotel to surprise our friend as we all left feeling very relaxed and happy with our stay.

A lovely relaxing weekend was had here. Would highly recommend, there is great golf courses, relaxing spa evironment and some good walks around the surrounding areas. The rooms are well furnished and the staff are pleasant.

The rooms were fantastic with views over the golf course. We ate in the restaurant where the food was excellent with a wide variety of choices and the service was first class. from the moment you walk through the reception doors you are made to feel welcome. Stay could not have been better and great value for money, will definitely stay there again and would certainly recommend to friends and family.

We were here for a annual convention and the situation an surroundings were good. However parking was an enormous problem for those not staying for the weekend because of the amount of people arriving on each of the two days and the golfers with cars. The food was good although service in the cellar bar left a lot to be desired on the Sunday as it would seem one of the bar staff may have been new, overcharged for a coffee I then had to go and get myself

The hotel is sprawling and has a lot of areas. I had room 211, which has a nice view of the attached golf course from the small balcony. The balcony has seating so I imagine sitting out on a sunny evening would be good. The room is a good size and the bed was very comfortable; bath and a shower too. Free Wifi worked well. The TV is quite small but does have freeview. The swimming pool is a good size and temperature for both adults and kids. The only real let down was the breakfast, the food products were a little cheap. The pastries were actually tasteless. Note that you can only enter the hotel from the dual carriageway when travelling from east to west - don't miss the (clearly marked) entrance as it is a considerable detour to get back there again.

My partner and I attended this location for a wedding of some friends. It was faultless. The wedding took place in the chapel and the celebrations continued in the Pickford Suite. The wedding organiser was excellent. She kept the day flowing and had a smile on her face throughout the day. All of the staff were exceptional and they all seemed so happy!! This is clearly a nice place to work as every member of staff that we encountered were great. The food was exceptional and the overall ambience was really good. I was impressed with the size of our room. The cost of the room was very reasonable. This also allowed access to the gym and the pool. Great value, great hotel. Would recommend.

The hotel is very good especially if your room is overlooking the golf course. The decor is adequate - outside painting needs attention. The restaurant food is excellent if you like Fine Dining, but there is always an alternative in the Cellar Bar. The highlight is the restaurant. It has a superb Restaurant Manager, Andrea, Nothing is too much trouble, even when I gave him a rather complicated evening guest list. He is very competent but also works well with his staff who (and I asked them) like him and respect him greatly.

We were made so welcome by the staff especially those in the Cellar Bar (Georgia and her manager and all the staff there) when we stayed at the hotel to give our hearing dog some experience of learning to settle in a restaurant and be around lots of people. Nothing was too much trouble, we were NOT made to feel guilty for bringing a dog to the hotel which can happen. Staff in the restaurant were also so lovely and could not do enough to make our stay really enjoyable. We are passing this information on to headquarters so that they can recommend the hotel to people with disabilities. Thank you all so much.

Well.... what a cracking day we've had at Windmill Village. First time I've played the course and really enjoyed it. Not a course for blasting the ball but one where careful club selection was paramount. The course itself was in great condition with some of the best greens I've played on. Top marks to the ground staff! ! Also many thanks to Jordan and the rest of the staff for giving us such a good welcome and for looking after us on the day.... from Ex Kyngs Golf Society. See you again in September

Excellent service and rooms very comfortable and clean the staff were very helpful and food was excellent the pool facilities were clean sauna and jacuzzi were very relaxing check in and check out were very good with all questions answered

A really enjoyable stay, comfy bed with plenty of pillow types, nice view from balcony, delicious breakfast, helpful staff, nice pool & sauna, nice touch with the fruit platter, decor a little tired but no big deal, the only real negative is the sound proofing to other rooms is really poor

We attended a wedding at this hotel and the entire experience from beginning to end was excellent. The ceremony took place in the chapel suite and was followed by drinks on the lawn. Bar service was professional, swift and friendly with no queuing. Wedding breakfast excellent in a lovely room, great service, great food. Evening reception again excellent with great staff and no queuing at the bar. We stayed in a room that backed straight on to the A45 yet you would never have known. The room was large, comfortable, very clean with great toiletries, tea making facilities etc and most importantly large comfortable bed. We had a sound nights sleep. Breakfast was served in the lovely restaurant overlooking the golf course. Food quality excellent as was the service. Big well done to the hotel and in particular the Wedding Team!

We stayed for three nights while visiting our son at Warwick Uni. We booked a family room (as we were travelling with our other son) which looked bigger than the regular rooms (on the website) and seemed to have regular third bed. Upon arriving we found that we had a regular double room with an extra fold up bed. That made the room very small and hard to maneuver around for three people. When we asked about us booking a family room they told us that the family room would be smaller than what we had, which we found hard to believe. They neither showed us or changed us. Furthermore, they gave us three sets of towels but not a third bathrobe. One would expect that knowing there were three people in the room and for that price they could have put an extra one in. When the lights were not working one night they fixed it immediately though. The pool was fine although a little dark. The water temperature was perfect for a couple of laps in the morning. The fitness studio is very large and has plenty of equipment. The WLAN was only working when you stood by the door and not when you moved further into the room.

Overnight stay and wished it was longer, it's a lovely hotel which is relaxing and well appointed, nice room with a great view and a really nice restaurant again with great views, I would definately stay here again and would highly recommend it.

Hotel is lovely, clean and very welcoming, staff were great and very attentive, dinner was lovely and so to was breakfast, restaurant staff a real credit, our room was very spacious. Being a manager in a hotel I am probably more critical then some but I couldn't fault this hotel.

Every member of staff went out of their way to be friendly, helpful and approachable. The whole experience very good indeed. I was impressed and as a result will keep an eye out for Best Westerns wherever I'm headed. Great room, excellent breakfast as well..

We booked this hotel through wowcher offer for 2 couples and throughly enjoyed the stay. Pre arrival Julie in reservations was great and booked all our golf/spa requirements and dinner reservations and all went perfectly. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped. We ate lunch in the bar which was good value and enjoyed a meal in the restaurant. The staff were very polite and knowledgeable about the menu. The leisure facilities were busy with families which is expected at Easter but the ladies enjoyed a swim and spa treatment whilst the boys went off to play golf. They commented on the well kept course and friendly staff. Breakfast was great choice and in nice setting with views of the golf course. Overall a great night away and would recommend.

A bit skeptical when we drove up as it's right off a main road but the hotel is actually set back from the road and you can park next to the hotel. The room was lovely and equipped with everything we needed, the shower was amazing! Really disappointed with the restaurant though. It masquerades as a fancy 4 or 5 star restaurant with pretty presentation. But from when we first walked in the snotty manager looked down his nose at us because we hadn't reserved a table though no one had indicated to us at any point that we were supposed to. The bread they gave us was one stale slice. They say us next to the window and it was freezing the whole times. The portions were minuscule. I know that that's supposed to be the gourmet effect but still you might want to eat before or have a snack for after. The main (in picture) was pork tenderloin. It was undercooked (still pink) and the bits that were cooked were dry and tough. It came with 3 new potatoes which were not cooked, and two baby carrots. When we were leaving we realised we had forgotten to bring a card and asked for the bill to be charged to our room. He told us and we couldn't and then watched my every move as if I was some sort of criminal while I waited for my sister to go get her card.

A great place to stay with beautiful views of the course from certain rooms. Really comfortable room, clean and functional. Very nice breakfast but staff did seem a bit overwhelmed with so many of us for breakfast! (Pleasingly this changed by day 2!) I'd definitely stay again

The best feature of this hotel is the breakfast. It is excellent - lovely view from the restaurant. White table cloths. Attentive staff. Arrived late and was therefore given a room right next to reception and therefore could hear the music playing so resorted to wearing my ear plugs. Miss all the retail items that they had on sale at reception on my previous visit. Unfortunately didn't have time to use the leisure facilities on this occasion.

Really lovely hotel. Room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The breakfast was great. Lots of choice from fruit, cereals to full English and pastries. Can even have an omlette made for you. Staff on reception very polite and efficient. My only negative point is that I was staying as a single woman and my room was on the ground floor. I wanted to open the window at night to let some air in but it was a side opening window and so anyone could have climbed in if they wanted to. This is a very minor thing as I did feel very safe and I am probably being very picky but if you are travelling alone and this would be an issue just ask for a room on a higher floor.

Many thanks to the friendly staff for making sure our evening event was so enjoyable. The function room, food, drink, disco, etc were all as requested. We had a three night stay in a good room overlooking the hotel's golf course. One tip to pass on is to book any weekend spa treatments in advance as it gets very busy. We made use of the pool, sauna, steam room, bar, restaurant and would have favourable comments about all of these and we hope to be back soon.

This is a great course to play, the first 3 holes are par 3's but they are challenging. The rest of the course is very much the same, looks straightforward but there is always a challenge ahead. The spa is a great place to relax with friendly helpful staff, the pool sauna steam room and Jacuzzi are perfect for relaxing in.

All staff were so welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. We had booked a room for three but a third bed had not set up. This was immediately rectified and the staff were very apologetic and cheerfully made up third bed and all other necessities for the third guest. The accommodation was very clean and very comfortable. Our treatments at the Spa were great and all staff were friendly and very professional. All the meals we ate, mostly in the cellar bar, we're very tasty and a good price. The service from the bar staff was outstanding - always happy, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Karolina (?) and the bar manager (?) particularly stood out for their attentiveness, particularly as we stayed in the bar until the small hours! I have never known someone who was continually cheerful and bubbly for the whole shift, which could have possibly been at least 12 hours. We would definitely visit again and are considering making it an annual event to catch up and celebrate our birthdays! Thank you so much for such an enjoyable stay :-)

We had the all inclusive package of £50 per person for a 3 course meal, wine, soft drinks and spirits. We arrived at 7pm when it all started but we weren't allowed a drink from the bar until our organiser arrived because she had our wristbands. We had to wait for half an hour until she arrived at 730. There was no tonic water to go with the gin, no ginger ale to go with the whiskey and no Diet Coke. The white wine choice was Chardonnay. We had the red wine which was nice and people also said the rose was nice too. However I had a vodka and Coke and my husband a whiskey and Coke, I couldn't tell the difference between the 2 drinks so I doubt the content of whiskey was a measure. The food was very good for a mass produced meal, the soup was piping hot, the turkey was nice too but there was only one roast potato, 4 tiny brussel sprouts, and a couple of tiny bits of parsnip and carrot. A few more veggies would have been nice. The chocolate mousse was delicious and chocolatey. Apart from the slow start in getting a drink and the weak spirits, the evening and staff were excellent. We stayed overnight in the hotel, a double room cost around £70. The room had all you needed and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast was ok too, tinned fruit and yoghurt to start and traditional breakfast to follow, with cheese, hams, pastries etc if you wanted. It could have been improved with fresh fruit salad instead of tinned. Bacon, sausage, eggs etc were all excellently cooked but the brown sauce wasn't nice. The sliced cheese looked very sweaty and had curled a bit, so didn't look appetising, small criticisms otherwise excellent. Staff did very well to cope with the volume of people, the lady cooking eggs was very efficient and friendly.

Very comfy beds. Spacious room. Gorgeous food. Very good free WiFi. Our room was outside and up some metal stairs. We had very noisy neighbours who ran up and down the staircase in the early hours. Our radiators kept going off even when the room felt cool. Would return but would prefer to be in the main hotel.

I stayed here for ComiCon at the NEC. The hotel has lovely grounds, I took a walk around the golf course and took some photos. I didn't spend too much time in the room as the weather was lovely, so went in to Birmingham for food and shopping. It's about a 10 minute drive to the NEC, and a 20 minute drive to the Bullring in Birmingham, so very well situated. My only problem was the people above were up and down all night, think they had been to the party that was happening in the hotel, every time they walked, the ceiling was creaking and it kept me awake most of the night. (I was in room 28) I went to reception for food at 9:30pm and could not get any as their was not enough staff, just the person on reception, he said he could make something later when the other staff arrived, but may be 10/10.30 which was too late for me to be eating. I would stay again but request a top floor room, so I would not have that problem.

Stayed here about 3 months ago and again just over a week ago. First time had a room downstairs overlooking the golf course, this time was on the same floor as reception and seemed a lot nosier. This however does not detract from the lovely rooms. Nice and big extremely comfortable bed and excellent blackout curtains. Looking forward to staying here again in December !!

Overnight stay for business - good for everything I needed. Handy location on the ring road, spacious and comfortable room, free wi-fi, efficient check in and out, good standard of food in the restaurant, served promptly and was perfectly at ease eating on my own. Only reasons not to give the hotel full marks did not hamper my stay at all - furnishings tired in places and confusing layout (lots of levels hence lots of stairs which may not suit those who find walking a problem). Would I use this hotel again and would I recommend? Yes, absolutely.

I've been back to the Windmill Village again since last year when we stayed overnight for a spa break. Today, my friend and I returned for just a spa day. I had two treatments and would like thank the beautician that did my elemis facial and massage. I didn't catch her name but she was a Greek lady and she was wonderful, the best facial I have had yet! I will be back to book another facial with her. If anyone at the hotel replies to this- could you let me know her name so I can book in again soon. Ps my friend and I had the whole pool to ourselves today- which was brilliant!

Despite arriving late reception was welcoming and efficient,.room on the ground floor was spacious, clean and well equipped. Comfortable bed and quiet weeknight meant a good nights sleep Great breakfast with freshly cooked eggs .restaurant is light and welcoming with views a cross the golf course. A good stay

Booked in with a large group for a pre-wedding Spa day. The spa facilities are quite good, the pool is large enough for a decent swim and the steam room is clean and adequate. The main issue though was with the whirlpool - because it is attached to the main pool and the pool temperature is pretty cool the whirlpool felt absolutely freezing. I did mention the temperature of the pool to a member of the golf club staff but was told (fairly snappily) that as it is a leisure pool the temperature must be kept low. Lunch was included in our package and this was the worst part of the experience. e were told we had an hour to have lunch in order to get all the treatments done in time, lunch actually took over an hour and a half thanks to the poor service in the restaurant. When we arrived in the restaurant it was empty, no staff or customers. Eventually a waiter appeared and asked us where we wanted to sit (no table had been laid for us despite us being expected in advance). We had each selected a two course lunch from a three course menu, instead of bringing out the starters and mains at the same time the waiter brought them out (very slowly) in the courses, this meant that at all times at least half the party were sat waiting for food. The waiter also failed to offer us any drinks; the package contained a glass of prosecco each but it didn't seem to occur to the waiter to offer us any more drinks until we asked for them. A spa day is supposed to be relaxing but the waited, his name was Connor, made lunch quite a stressful experience. He was slow, rude and over familiar; he joined in with our conversations without being asked to do so, provided terrible service (no cutlery, no drinks etc.) and nearly caused a major upset when he appeared to mock the disabled mother of my wife to be. Overall this young man nearly managed to spoil the whole day for my party. Thankfully the service provided by the spa was the best part of the day. All the young ladies in the spa were very polite and provided excellent treatments so despite the coldness of the pool area and the rudeness of the waiting staff, we managed to leave feeling fairly relaxed.

Visiting with friends for overnight spa break. Chosen primarily on best location for three of us to meet as well as a room for three adults. As a number of the areas that are rated could vary, overall rating of average seems a little low - perhaps average+ would be more accurate. Lovely hotel - stayed in main building on second floor at the end of corridor - overlooking the golf course. The bedroom was clean and had the tea and coffee facilities -nice bright bathroom with a large mirror. We parked on the sites car park at the side of the hotel -which was free. We slept very well and it was quiet -surprising when there is a main a road running along the front of the hotel but we couldn't hear the traffic and a bonus we had blackout blinds so no light coming in ! Breakfast was served at the other side of the hotel in the restaurant which was as standard help yourself buffet. It was very busy and felt the staff were too occupied. Would stay again as location was convenient to an event attended and it was secure- however the staff could do with being abit more approachable and friendly.

Here are my observations of a one night stay in this hotel; Check-in, pretty standard, though Pre-authorising credit card isn't ideal. Swipe access card to room temperamental. Room ok, but saggy bed and no complimentary water in the room. Usual tea, coffee and kettle shoved in the cabinet. Cleaning could be improved, as previous guest hair on bathroom floor. More like a travel tavern in layout, lots of corridors and no entrance statement. The photo on the web depicts a Georgian style mansion house, though the accommodation is low-rise purpose built adjacent to main building. The restaurant staff don't say much and there's no checking during your meal, therefore no opportunity to order more refreshments, unless you request attention. The coffee machine in the restaurant is not up to producing a latte, with microfoam, instead a watery version with froth resembling shaving foam. No real apology for anything. The coffee served in the bar downstairs is spot on. Food very good, no issues at all. Well presented and cooked to a high standard. Maybe some training for the restaurant manager on how to engage with customers would greatly improve the experience. Would I return? No.

I normally stop at The Best Western Manor hotel but as it was full stopped at its sister hotel. Was given an upgraded room in the main building which was clean powerful shower but extremely poor Internet. Ate in the bar and the food and service was good. Had a late breakfast the following day and it was awful. Extremely poor service, stewed coffee and help yourself buffet items lukewarm or cold. Would i stop here again possibly so but your sister hotel puts you to shame in every department from staff service quality and food

Had to stay overnight with a group of colleagues - deal was ok and facilities look good for Coventry.... Hotel upon arrival looked real quaint - lovely grounds and really nice feel to it... Check in was fine and was given my room in a separate building close to the main road - noise was as expected and should have really asked to change at this point... However, I didn't and showered, changed and went to go eat - nice bar, nice food and great atmosphere - was really busy due to some business convention but had a good night and a few beers... Back to the room - old fashioned in every respect, lumpy bed, peeling paint, electric wall heater - all very 80`s that had been poorly maintained and needed a refurb for sure,,,, Nice wake up call by the passing traffic from around 05:00 - really loud and annoying... Breakfast though was superb - £10 but well worth it with great views and service... My colleagues had rooms in the main hotel block and were all fine - my bad luck ehh.... Complained upon check out and the receptionist took no notice at all and simply smiled and wished me a nice day - so should have requested a room change the previous night and undoubtedly I would have been writing a different story... So an ok stay - but choose the main hotel and not the cold pre-war separate noisy old buildings....

Visited here as part of a group of nine for a pre-wedding Spa Day and for the most part we had a pleasant day - what I found interesting was the difference in service between the golf club, spa and hotel sections of the venue. On arrival we were all registered for the spa quickly and received our robes and slippers. Our lunch orders were taken and we had an hour to relax before lunch. I had a swim and found that the pool was quite pleasant - although a little on the chilly side. The coldness of the water did have an effect on the spa day as the whirlpool attached to the swimming pool was fed from the same water and was therefore rather cold. When I spoke to a member of the golf club staff about this I was told, somewhat snappily, that the water had to be that temperature because it was a leisure pool. After a brief sit in it, none of my group used the whirlpool for the rest of the day which was a bit of a disappointment. Lunch was where the main issue occurred. We were told that we had one hour for lunch before our treatments started, however someone should have told the restaurant this as lunch ended up taking over and hour and a half, mostly due to poor service. When we arrived in the restaurant there was no-one around and no table had been laid for the group. The only waiter on staff was a young man named Connor, who is in desperate need of retraining. He lacked professionalism and was generally rude, irritating and very slow. Our meals were divided into starter, main and pudding courses even though we each only had two courses. This meant that for large parts of the meal there was always at least half the group sitting with no food in front of us. Our meal came with a glass of prosecco, but it didn't occur to our waiter to offer us additional drinks (even though we had a pregnant woman in our group) and I had to ask to get a drinks order placed. Mostly though our waiter Connor was horribly overfamiliar; he butted into our conversations to offer his own opinion, made jokes and comments that were not welcomed by us and very nearly caused major upset when he appeared to mock my mother-in-law who is disabled. Before lunch we were having a pleasant and relaxing day. After lunch, however, we came away feeling irritated and not at all relaxed thanks to this young man's appalling customer service. Thankfully though the spa staff were the polar opposite of this. They were all very pleasant and polite and we all thoroughly enjoyed our treatments. I opted for the hot stones massage, never having had one before, and found it to be an incredibly relaxing experience. Overall this was a mixed bag of a visit. The spa was excellent, the pool chilly and the service in the restaurant appalling. It's a shame the whole experience wasn't as good as what was offered in the spa.

We were a business group of 17 having 2 days of meetings at the hotel. Some of us could check in early and others had to wait until a couple of hours later. The meeting room was downstairs from reception. The nearest toilets were at the far end of the hotel. Not great for our pregnant colleague. Not sure what a wheelchair user would do. Didn't seem to be any way in to reception. Dinner was disappointing. Even I managed 3 courses. The chicken ballantine was 3 tiny discs of chicken roll which were dry. The pork tenderloin was 2 small bits of pork which no-one thought was tender with 4 small potatoes. Signage is awful. Guests were struggling to find toilets, restaurant or gym etc. Even in the changing rooms there was no signage to show where the gym was. I ended up in the gym looking for the pool. Apparently you have to go back out the changing room door and across the public corridor. Pool was OK but pretty dark in there and too warm for serious swimming. Rooms were nicely done out. Ask for one overlooking the golf course. Gorgeous views.

We were booked into the Windmill Village Hotel whilst on an induction course. I hate being away from home but my room was so cosy and the staff so lovely that i soon settled. We dined in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The food was delicious and the staff, especially Alvaro made us feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

The Windmill Hotel is beside a main road so you'd expect it to be a little noisy. What I didn't expect is the noise that comes in from the corridor and the plumbing system. The bathroom was a disappointment too. The toilet is cramped up against a wall and the shower is one of those old-fashioned step into the bath affairs that's an invitation for an accident. On the plus side, the Wi-fi is good and doesn't involve a complicated log-on process. The breakfast is up to the normal standard as you'd expect. No tea or coffee maker in the room, nor water (apart from the taps). Staff were welcoming. Overall, a so-so hotel that didn't impress (but then again, I am not a golfer!).

This is the second conference we have held here. This one was for seventy people and the service we recieved was faultless! The meeting room facilities were excellent and the food and overnight accommodation are very good. If you are looking for somewhere with great parking, great food, excellent service and a great location then this is the place for you

We booked this hotel to attend a Wedding Reception in one of the Function Rooms. On arrival, very swift and pleasant check-in, very helpful reception staff. Our room was nice, very clean, a lovely balcony and had everything we needed. We ordered room service and this was delivered in around 10 - 15 minutes which I thought was excellent. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We used the spa facilities and again this was excellent. Nice, very relaxed hotel, good quality but not to formal, suited us very well and I will definately be staying here again on my next trip to Coventry. All of the staff we met were lovely and very helpful, nothing was to much trouble for them.

We organised a lunch party in the chapel suite for our golden wedding anniversary having had many excellent visits to the hotel previously. The lunch party consisted of 26 family and friends to sit down to a 4 course lunch fully catered by the hotel the food was of excellent quality and fully enjoyed by every body. The suite was self contained with an entrance lobby, toilets, bar large reception room all tastefully decorated and very well maintained. All staff were friendly and very attentive and could not do enough for us, we thoroughly recommend this venue and hotel.

Thus is a wonderful hotel. Very clean, the bedrooms are Lovely and the beds very comfortable. The staff were so helpful and considerate. The food was amazing. Iv never k own such a lovely buffet breakfast, and Julie who was behind the buffet was so willing to cook you anything you wanted. A very lovely lady. Also David on reception was so helpful. A real asset to your hotel

My wife booked this as a treat for a anniversary.how wrong she was we payed £96 for one night !! And payed £40 for meals . Where to start.the room is old fashion the bed was older than me! Water stains on bed and sheets the room was freezing cold only one small heater working in the room. Paper thin walls and ceiling right on the main road very noisy; the meals in the restaurant was ok but could of been warmer as it was cold ! Glad to get home would not recommend this hotel!!! (Room number 3)

Staying at the hotel for a week due to attending a training course have been to the hotel before Three years ago and remembered that the evening meal was better in the bar downstairs sitting in the sun drinking beer watching the Golfers tee off then when ready eating a super meal. The rooms are lovely and the Staff are excellent this is well worth a 5 star rating

didnt get the reservation request despite booking direct with best western, dining room closed but not informed of this prior to the visit and menu is nearly all burgers and very crowded. despite m,y saying my room was not as i requested no offer to change it but only whe i said the key wasnt working did i get a change of room this is quiet a noisy hotel quality OF SLEEP WAS POOR

Stayed here for one night having left a frankly disgusting hotel that I was meant to be staying in (The Allesley hotel, all the staff at the windmill seemed to know its reputation) This place was exactly what I needed, friendly staff, the cellar bar is excellent, the room was very clean, comfy bed and breakfast was excellent!! I would recommend it to anyone.

Solid 4 *. Pool , lovely views over golf. Even better if you had outdoor jacuzzi area. Beautiful breakfast - excellent , as good as 5* staff very friendly ( away from pool reception ) I had a fantastic meal in the cellar bar served by a very nice waitress who really looked after me ( I was on my own whereas there were massive groups - she made sure I didn't feel lonely ) great cannelloni - can the chef remember that it is not a good idea to make the veggie options with goats cheese as it is not a universal taste - this is why I didn't eat at fairways . Raspberry creme brûlée yummy! Sleeps like a log in comfort room - very small but had everything I needed - even an iron and board in room. Shower great . Woken up with late check ins foreign voices - had to go in corridor and say sssshh despite night Porter being there. All quiet after that. Suggestion. The Noise from other rooms of coat hangers banging in wardrobes as clothes are added /removed is loud - put some kind of padding the the back of your wardrobes please !

Stayed here for a work training course for 5 nights. The room was very clean and the bed very comfy, really good size for the bathroom as well, everything you need is provided such as hair dryers etc. The only niggle about the room is the extreme lack of sockets. There is only one "spare" socket to use unless you start unplugging bedside lights etc. The breakfast I felt was really good, sure you help your self but that no bad thing, everything was top quality and the staff super friendly (even at 6:50 AM!). The meals included during the week were part of the "corporate package" and thus not a lot of choice available. However everything I had during my stay was, in my opinion extremely well cooked. For example the Cod fillet was almost see through as it had been cooked so expertly. Bar prices were a little high and the hotel is a bit isolated being situated on the A45. one other small gripe was that every morning around 6:30am the Green keeper for the adjoining golf course would be out there on his huge noisy mower tending to the grass, this didn't bother me as I was already up, but if you were staying there for leisure, be prepared for an early start. Overall, very good and would have no hesitation in staying there should the need arise again.

Along with two colleagues we spent three working weeks delivering training on behalf of a well known energy company. We stayed at the hotel and delivered the training in the suites there. The staff customer service is probably the best I've come across in a long while. Nothing was too problematic to the staff, and every request was completed with a smile and acted upon timeously. Kym the cellar bar manageress was testament to this greeting all customers with a smile and ensuring that their needs were met. Last night as an example, the bar was very busy with various delegates staying at the hotel and a member of staff apologised in advance that there maybe a 45 minute waiting time for a food order in case we wanted to eat elsewhere. Food arrived in 20 minutes.....well done. The staff allocated to look after our training suites were just as accommodating, nothing too difficult to change to suit our schedule, and any issues or further changes we were given a direct number to contact. I could go on, but all staff were cloned in the same mould. Well done to all concerned and I will be endorsing further stays there when in that area.

Stayed for one night as attending a course in the hotel. The hotel itself seemed OK but was let down by the accommodation and the room where the course was being held (The Blenheim, next to Housekeeping through a corridor piled with towels and other housekeeping paraphernalia). We ate in the Cellar bar and my meal was OK, so were my colleagues. I can't comment on the breakfast as I only had cereal so have no idea what the rest was like. I was staying in the 2 storey accommodation block that backs on to the very busy (and noisy) A45 dual carriageway. The room was OK - until I went to bed. There was one double plug socket by the desk opposite the bed and a 4 way extension lead by the bed BUT the extension lead only worked if the main overhead lights were on. Unless you wanted to sleep with the lights on the only way to charge something overnight was to plug it in by the desk - no use for my phone. The 2 bedside lamps also only worked if the overhead lights were on so I didn't even see the point of them being there. I found the bed itself comfortable enough but not the pillows, one was way too soft for me and the other felt like it had been stuffed with sawdust. When I turned the lights off to go to sleep one of the main overhead lights became an emergency light and lit up the whole room with a green glow, great if you like sleeping with a load of nightlights on but not if you need a certain degree of darkness to get to sleep. That, combined with uncomfortable pillows, meant a sleepless night for me and I spent the next day feeling like a zombie. From talking to colleagues it sounds like there's a big difference between rooms and it just depends on how lucky, or unlucky, you are. Personally, I'd never stay there again. When I checked out the receptionist didn't appear too busy - no one in front of me, no one behind me - if she'd bothered asking me if everything was OK with my stay I would have mentioned the issues and I wouldn't have left a bad review but she didn't.

We stayed at the Best Western for a wedding. The room had all the things you required iron, hair dryer, kettle and Corby trouser press. If you paid £68 for the room as we did then you would be perfectly happy with the room, if you paid £100 or so you would not. We stayed in the newish 2 storey building facing the car park and backing on to the road. The room was nice but the road noise is quite strong. Breakfast buffet was only served until 10 so we decided against it and got an extra hour in bed. We ate in the Cellar bar later but I would not recommend it, the allday breakfast I received was quite poor. They do serve Doom bar on tap and another ale which is nice. The serving staff were friendly and as a venue it is quite large with plenty of parking.

excellent accommodation for two night stay, staff very helpful and friendly, rooms clean, pleasant out look, just remember you are on a golf course and you maybe disturbed early morning by grass cutter! 6a.m. to be exact, other than that a very pleasant stay.

The build your own breakfast. I hate it. First of all you have to wander around the extremely spacious breakfast room to find everything. Then, put your toast through the conveyor. After this, catch the waitresses eye to sort your coffee. A final couple of trips to sort your breakfast items and you can finally sit down. Don't bother telling me about the 'excellent choice', or the 'tailor your own items'. It's cost saving, nothing else. It won't stop me returning, because the hotel is very good, the staff are exemplary, and the food is great. But I really would prefer my breakfast simply brought to me, on a plate, without all of this self service malarkey.

I was booked in here by our affiliated company. On arrival I was told that there would be issues with me paying by debit card, then I was told the price £169 for the night? I said that I didn't have a credit card but would phone my Director and come back to reception. Within 10 minutes this joker on reception who is been dealing with and who had the personality of a fridge phoned my room to ask where was the payment. I said I was waiting for my director to call me back. Shortly after I went back to reception and said my Director would be happy to pay over the phone on his credit card, only to be told this was not acceptable as he had to physically see the card! I was at a loss and didn't appreciate the embarrassment and attitude of this flunky. Due to the unprofessional attitude and lack of care shown by him I had to give my key back and depart the hotel and drive 3 hours home, missing the organised event at the NEC tomorrow. I can assure everyone concerned at this hotel that the company I am affiliated with and had 12 other people staying here will not be using this hotel again because of the disgusting nature of my treatment and lack of respect shown. Avoid this place if possible.

Hotel is well located on the A45 out of Coventry. Check-in efficient and staff very helpful. Freeview channels very limited due to poor reception area. The rooms are large and well equipped although a fridge would be helpful. There is no air conditioning and only a small window but this didn't seem to be a problem despite the warm weather. Room servicing could be better as drinking glasses not cleaned or changed.

Stayed here for our friends wedding. Highly recommend. Staff were lovely and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The wedding itself was fabulous and very well organised. Lovely clean room and had everything we needed. Breakfast the next morning was fab with a massive selection . Well done you guys!

We arrived at this lovely hotel the night before a dear friends wedding, we had preferred rates for the night of the wedding plus an even cheaper night for the night before. The hotel is set in its own grounds the main hotel looks like an old big house with restaurant and bars included, and we were fortunate to be staying in a self contained room amongst a few others round the grounds. The rooms are very tasteful and functional equipped with safe,ironing board,iron, kettle etc. And also separate bathroom with an excellent shower. We dined in the evening with a lovely meal again with good taste and a good standard of meal. Also there is a spa and golf club included however we didn't use these. The next morning a fantastic breakfast cooked buffet style along with cereal and continental breakfast. The wedding was held also separate within a lodge. The reception again was also tasteful within a larger room. A good stay and very affordable, well done.

The rooms in this hotel were lovely. Big comfy beds, and a great bathroom too. All clean and in good condition. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. Spa was lovely. Pool was great, and the treatments we had were good too. The restaurant was amazing. Food was really fantastic. We had a 3 course meal and breakfast in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed both. Staff in all areas of the hotel were friendly and very nice. Couldn't have asked for better!!

We came here for a wedding of which there were several and therefore busy but NOT noisy. This is a fine hotel on the A45 Coventry to Birmingham road. There is ample parking off the A45 (dual carriageway). However, the reception is on the far side of the hotel adjacent to a small car park where deliveries etc. are made. It appears to be more of a staff car park. To get to reception from the main car park you will need to go through the hotel restaurant / dining room, down the steps, turn right at room 201 etc. (on ground floor) and that will bring you to the reception desk. Checking in is quick, efficient and friendly. In fact, all the staff are friendly, helpful and inviting and this gives you that warm fuzzy feeling that your stay is going to be great. Lifts Ramps The room we had was a good size, beautifully decorated, furnished and above all clean. The shower is in a bath so you have the choice of bath or shower. There is also the obligatory but rarely used trouser press in the room that is found in the better hotels. Our standard room facilities included: large room. Very comfortable bed Beautifully decorated. Very clean. Trouser press Safe (self coded no extra charge) Kettle in cupboard. (Tea / coffee etc. (Not enough teabags or milk so we asked for more)) Iron and ironing board. Hairdryer (in drawer) Two bathrobes Two sealed pairs of slippers. Flat screen TV (Sky HD) Plenty of electrical sockets. Plenty of lights and lamps Desk and chair Radio alarm clock Armchair Telephone. No mini-bar (thankfully). Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. The hotel has a spa experience that you can book. Gymnasium £5 (free if you book the Club room) Excellent venue for Touring, Romantic evenings, Weddings, banquets and conferences. Breath-taking views across the countryside but not from all rooms. Several outside spaces. I am told that food is not served outside but do check first. The bar was a little pricey at 100% more than local bar prices and so you will need to ensure you have enough money with you. Considering the reasonable cost of a night's stay it is acceptable. You can have a room tab if you choose to add a deposit on your credit / debit card on arrival. I don't use this facility because, I don't like the insecurity of someone overhearing my room number and adding their bar bill to mine or the wrong bill being added to mine. I much prefer to pay as I go. We only had the breakfast and so cannot speak of the restaurant food but I do understand it is very good. However, I can say that the buffet breakfast was excellent with the exception of the croissants and choco pan as these were left uncovered and dried out quickly. There is a very wide and excellent choice for almost every taste; Fruit. Yoghurt. Breads. Full English breakfast. Cereals. Muesli Tea and coffee is waiter served and we did surprise the waiter by asking for a second pot -yes, it was a fine pot of tea- which he fetched without quibble or fuss. The staff compliment the hotel by their attitude and it is a fine hotel. I thoroughly recommend this hotel. If you don't have transport there are bus services to / from Windmill farm bus stop (about two minutes walk from the hotel: Check times with Google Maps app. 900 Birmingham - Coventry & Return 82 Solihull - Coventry & Return Transport Museum is worth a visit. Coventry Cathedral ruins and new cathedral. Coventry and Birmingham is great for shopping.

We stayed in a room in the main building (105) on a Saturday night for a friends wedding, our room was spacious, clean and had a lovely view over the golf course. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the kettle in the room didn't work but that's the only down side, i'm sure they would have changed it but we were checking out an hour later so just went straight to breakfast instead. I was surprised how quiet the rooms were given the fact they were fully booked and had two weddings on the day we stayed. We didn't get a chance to use the spa / pool but I did get changed in the spa changing rooms before the wedding and they were very clean.

Passed through on a business trip on a Friday night. I was initally put of by large and loud crowds of guests some of were very anti-social. My room was very attractive but the plugs didnt work and the room service meal was average. Poor choice of tv channels. The gym was good however and in the day light the grounds were attractive and the staff very helpful and friendly. The price (less than £100 for B and B) was good value. I think its the staff that lift this place from 3 to 4 stars. Maybe i was just unlucky with my fellow guests. I will use the place again if neccessary

A gem of a hotel. The staff were exemplary in their behaviour. The facilitiez are good. Though I did not like the rooms initially allocated to us, the staff did everything in their power to give us rooms more to our liking. An enjoyable stay all in all.

The main hotel and rooms are nice. However, the cottage rooms that are not part of the main building are very noisy. Paper thin walls and ceilings. Food in the restaurant and bar was good. Friendly bar and restaurant staff

The room was Lovely. The spa was fantastic, treatments were good and the staff in the hotel and spa were lovely. Only let down was a pompous member of staff in the restaurant who seemed to look down on my wife and I as we had booked a package deal. We stayed for one night on 27th August. The deal was for the room, breakfast and three course meal, along with a treatment (at the spa) for me and my wife. The options for dinner were good and the breakfast selection was great. The food was of a very good standard. The pool was fantastic and the gym is great, it's big and reasonably modern. Although we didn't play golf - the course looked beautiful and the view from our room on the 3rd floor was amazing. The lobby staff were fine as were all but one of the restaurant staff but overall were quite friendly and helpful. All in all a nice hotel, perfect location for us as we were going to Stratford upon Avon the next morning and had travelled from Leicester. Would give 3.5 stars if it was an option.

Stayed here for a weekend getaway with my partner. On check in the reception team were really friendly and helpful. We headed straight to our room which overlooked the golf course and had everything we needed. We had a choice to eat in the bar or the restaurant for dinner. We decided on the restaurant and the food was amazing, compliments to the chef! Use of the leisure facilities we're included in our stay also. The pool was lovely and the sauna and steam room were a great way to relax. Overall the service was great and all staff were really friendly and helpful and I would definitely recommend to anyone!

It was a weekend leisure break and surprise for my partner. From Check in staff at reception to the lovely and clean room, we felt welcome and pleased. Then we headed to the leisure facilities to use the Swimming pool, Sauna & Steam, which was maintained to the best standards. We spent the rest of the evening in the bar that made us feel relaxed with its vintage atmosphere and variety of choices to dine. We headed back to our room and slept like a log on the mattress that felt perfect. Morning breakfast was a buffet with a wide array of food choices to be spoilt. Friendly and professional staff were an added bonus to this hotel.Overall, it was an amazing stay well worth every penny, we paid for it.

Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly reception staff and an overall pleasant check-in, quick and simple, just as expected. We recieved the key to our room and then went on our way. The room, sorry to say, was slightly outdated in comparison to the rest of the hotel. It's too old fashioned but the room in terms of size and cleanliness was up to scratch. My boyfriend and I were slightly late for a reservation for dinner but the staff were more than welcoming and service was quick and friendly, depsite being quite busy. I have visited this restaurant before a couple years ago and I would of said that it was as outdated as the rooms, but now it looks incredible, very modern. Food was lovely, views are beautiful. Overall a positive experience and would happily return for another get away with the other half.

Check in slow, long wait. Guests waiting to reprogram keys and queue to check in. Lots of grumbles about wait time. Food of good quality in bar and restaurant. Slow service. Check out Monday morning at 8am, chaotic. Check out girl very fraught and snappy, borderline rude! Very disorganised, don't think she understood my query. Again long queues down the corridor and dissatisfied guests. Other hotels in the chain offer express check out..........not this one!

The room was comfortable plenty of hot water, bed comfortable, lovely view of the Golf course. Restaurant food very good service in the restaurant very poor. There are some really good parts of the Hotel for sitting and having a drink, the Cellar Bar is not one of them very dingy. Very poor night's sleep with noise from guests who we were told later had to be evicted. Woke to find a discarded item on the Patio area outside our room which we reported when we went for breakfast it was still there on our return. Buffet breakfast I wish Hotels would make it clear that this is what is on offer on their websites. Went for the Continental breakfast pastries dry, fruit out of a tin, toast self service either uncooked or burnt. Made our comment clear to the Front of House Manager who was very apologetic.

On arrival it looked lovely the main reception was clean and staff friendly. We had one of the lodges situated alongside the main reception. Room was good size with decent bathroom however the furnishings were a little tired and dated and we had to request, twice that the room be hoovered as there was lots of dead wasps on the floor,windowsill and even in the toilet. The gym and pool was nice and the food (breakfast) was lovely. There was varied choice although the hot food wasn't particularly that hot. Was nice for what we wanted but don't think it warrants a 4* rating...I've seen far better 4* hotels if am been honest.

In transit from Ireland to France we stopped over in Coventry due to very adverse driving conditions. We booked by phone from the car around 20.00h- asked for b&b in this hotel and enquired if a restaurant was attached, we were told the restaurant would close 10.30, no reservations necessary- we were only 30 min away, so arrived shortly after8.30 checked in unloaded some of the luggage and returned to the restaurant area, just before 9.30h- 'sorry we are closed' so on a Sunday the restaurant closed 9.15h pm- should have told the girl at reception, because across the road was another hotel, we could have gone to - the maitre d' showed his best side by calling in front of us the front desk if we had made a reservation- we had told him, we were told 'no Reservation necessary' - so no dinner at the restaurant - by the time the maitre d' had finished his phone calls to verify ' our story ' we made our way to the bar it was 9.45h to be told bar Food finishes at 10.00, a well at last we could look forward to food- the service here was quite nice, a bit inexperienced maybe, but at least they tried. After burgers and pizza- we made our way to the room- it was raining still cats and dogs. The room 35 is an upstairs room in a mews type building adjacent to a very busy road with very poor noise insulation. The stairs are up a metal staircase, which in fact that night was lethally slippery and rather poorly lit. The beds are quite uncomfortable with mattresses which need replacement since years. Between the noise from the road and also the poor quality bed, I wonder if I would have got more sleep on the side of the road?!! After a long night turning, we must have fallen asleep- we woke 8.30 h, found avid golfers on the greens around and we were looking forward to a booked breakfast- after my husband , my daughter and I had a shower, loaded back up the car, we arrived at 9.45 am at the breakfast only to hear that the breakfast finished at 9.30h- ..' sorry we are closed' . I promised them a review on trip advisor and here it is- my worst hotel room in all of Uk ever!!! How anyone afforded this hotel 4 stars??? Poorly trained staff with mediocre knowledge about their own opening hours; I had booked a hotel , not a bed in boarding school- I understand that golfers are up early, but in peak time summer, one would expect that the odd holiday-maker, (or somebody who slept poorly!!!) may arrive in a hotel? Not impressed, I expect that we will be refunded the breakfast we never got and I hope the service was only a glitch- however the unsafe stairs, the poor sleeping conditions and the ridiculous service hours need to be addressed- 2 stars no more - the golf course looked lovely, but that's all. A final comment- in order to make a complaint to reception, we were asked to get in line, as there were other people with problems... It's actually funny ! It's that bad! ??

If this review was solely for the restaurant, I would rate it highly as the quality of the food is simply excellent. However, this review is for the overall stay and a poor rating is generous. 5 days at a quality hotel (the quality hotel is the other side of the dual carriageway) looking for candidate accommodation for the next 8 months. Locked out of my room on 5 separate occasions across 3 of the 5 days (today is day 4) including after a late night false fire alarm. New cards from reception provided a short term fix. On one morning, there was no hot water to the shower, bath or basin at 5am. The room was initially quirky with a bedside cabinet sawn in order to compensate for the sloping floor but in fact it was showing its age, tired. The leisure pool changing rooms had tiles barely stuck to the wall, lockers on their lat legs and consistently wet floors. This could have been better thought out. I am not a golfer so cannot assess that side of things and did not avail myself of the conference facilities but would not have been happy if on a paid visit. Was it worth the premium tariff? - NO, would I come again? - NO, would I recommend this in all honesty? - AVOID, are there any redeeming features? - YES visit the restaurant but do not be tempted to stay beyond that. Disappointed? YES Apologetic? - NO, this was my experience, unfortunately. (The service ratings are boosted by the friendly restaurant staff)

Looks like great hotel however has become dated attended 4 day business even evening meals took over two hours daily to get starter main and desert.. Hotel let down by dated rooms and restaurant great area and views so could be great!

Booked a golf/spa package via a third party as part of a 30th Wedding Anniversary celebrations with another couple, from the booking of Golf & Spa prior to staying and checking out ALL the staff we came into contact with were far better than normally received at a lot of Hotels . With all staff be very good there were two that stood out a young chap on the cellar Bar who was jolly, professional and knowledgeable about his bar and drinks, another young lady on the morning breakfast counter was also really nice to all our party and also very professional and keen to discuss interact with the customers. The Hotel itself seems to have had money spent and continue to spend on it , our room overlooking the golf course was nice and very tidy and clean bathrooms, the restaurant for breakfast was also lovely and of a good quality. The golf course is short but very tricky and very well looked after and would like to play again, the spa treatments were also of a good standard and very good value. As mentioned we all enjoyed all stay due to the excellent staff and would return if in the area again .

Absolutely loved our stay here. It was a halfway stop to our final destination and we wish we had stayed longer. The triple room was a lot bigger than expected. For a hotel that was right on the main road it was extremely quiet. A lovely quaint, friendly hotel. Highly recommended!

booked this for a birthday break with a round of golf and spa treatment included, the room was lovely with a view over the golf course. the food there was great and service really good, we would definately look at going there again.

My husband paid for me to have a full body massage for my birthday. It was easy enough to call up and book and I was fitted in pretty quickly. I arrived about 20 mins before my appointment time and was advised by the therapist on reception that as lunches were still taking place, I wouldn't be seen until my appointment time which was absolutely fine. She advised I could sit and have a coffee whilst I waited and then went to walk off - I asked where abouts I could wait as there were a couple of seating areas. She gestured behind me which was the reception area or round the corner which was where the golfers were gathering. I then asked where I could get a coffee and she advised me she could do it for me from behind the counter. I got a lukewarm cup of tea for £1.85 and made my way to the golfer area as the sun was shining through. About 5 mins before my apt, the therapist came and got me and took me through to the spa area, where to my amazement there was a seating area. I'm not sure why she didn't offer for me to sit there before as it would have been nice and relaxing. Never mind - onto the massage. The therapist asked if I had any problem areas I would like focussed on first. She then advised me around changing etc and how to prepare for the massage whilst she left the room. The massage itself was relaxing however I would have liked a bit more pressure on my legs and arms albeit I did enjoy the pressure on my back and shoulders. Post massage I was given a glass of water and left to my own devices. Overall I have had better service and better massages at other locations and would not necessarily recommend to others. I think the spa day deals you can get would probably be worth the money as you get lunch included.

Stayed here last week whilst on business. Plenty of parking around the complex. Quick and friendly check in. Nice room with view of the golf course. Spa on site, I never visited it though. There is an option to eat in the restaurant or bar. I chose the bar, good menu, I recommend the pate for starter! Well cooked and presented food. Looking forward to going back next week with colleagues

My stay at Windmill Village was great. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, our room had tea and coffee facilities, a TV, a Bluetooth radio, fan, hairdryer, robes and slippers, and ironing board, safe, bathroom supplies which were lush and an absolutely outstanding view. We paid for the breakfast each morning which again, was superb. All the staff in the restaurant were absolutely lovely and the food was delicious! Having seen reviews of some of the evening meals being poor we opted to eat out which seemed a much better, option, with many resturants and pubs nearby, such as Harvester. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, as were the cleaning staff. We asked the cleaning staff for more teas and coffees when they restocked and they made sure to provide this! In general the hotel seems very helpful, for instance if you need more pillows, towels, a sewing kit, more tea etc. they have no problem in promptly resolving your request! There was no shortage of parking spaces and the staff were flexible with parking, letting us leave cars there for the day even after checkout. The gym facilities were great however the only let down was the pool was not open during our visit which was a huge disappointment as it was one of the things we booked the hotel for. The spa prices were also very reasonable and the on site golf shop was well stocked! All

We celebrated a friends wedding yesterday here and it was brilliant great venue and gorgeous food would definately recommend to anyone wanting to celebrate any sort of event here, you will definately not regret it

Five family members stayed here in July for our daughter's graduation from Warwick University, which is only 7 miles away. So an excellent location. The rooms are clean, fair sized and on the ground floor, due to having elderly parents with us. We stayed in the hottest couple of days we have had for a while and the fan provided in the rooms was very welcomed. Bathroom clean with a shower over the bath, although for my elderly parents this was a problem as they couldn't get up and over the bath to shower very easily. The only problem in our bathroom was that no toilet cleaning brush was provided! There was tea and coffee making facilties, but as with all hotels, they never provided enough tea bags, coffee or milk. Hotel housekeeping, please take this on board, there is nothing worse than getting ready for bed and realising you have run out of supplies! The position of the hotel is on the busy "A" road into Coventry, but the bedrooms are well back off the road and you can't here the traffic noise. Some bedrooms even overlook the golf course at the back of the hotel. My husband is a golfer but he did not rate the golf course calling it a bit "mickey mouse" - the first three holes are Par three's which in golfing terms is not a good start and the whole course is just over 5,000 yards which is very short. We were not impressed by the restaurant however, the waiting staff were very polite, friendly and attentive, but probably because there was only three tables (9 people) eating there at the time and they were bored. We ordered New Zealand Sauvigaun Blanc wine, but were told sorry didn't have any, only French - who on earth enjoys a French Sauvigaun? Then the champagne we ordered was also not on the wine list any more, so had to have a far more expensive one instead - we weren't offered the expensive one at the lower price due to them not having any (where we have done in the past at other hotels!). We ordered our food, from a not very inspiring menu, which took 20 minutes to arrive. One of our party has a dietary problem and asked for a plain piece of grilled chicken and mash potato only, it arrived covered in red wine sauce and was immediately returned. The 4 other mains arrived and then we waited 10 minutes for the side dishes - which is absolutely terrible, the mains were practically cold! After another 15 minutes the plain chicken and mash potato arrived covered in a green salad!!!!! Obviously the chef doesn't understand the word "plain". No explanation was given as to why we waited so long for side dishes and nothing taken off the bill for the inconvenience. I can recommend the hotel for a B & B basis but would probably go somewhere else to eat for an evening meal.

On arrival I was impressed by the external layout. Check in was efficient and polite but lacked a feeling of being made welcome to the hotel. We had asked for our rooms to be in the main hotel ... We had booked months ago but we could not be accommodated as there was a wedding on the first night we arrived it seems. Little apology given and no offer to relocate us when the wedding was over. When I suggested a relocate they did say they could try he next day but I stayed put in the end ... We were situated in small chalet rooms. Clean and tasteful but my window was broken. The windows couldn't be left open as I was on a ground floor and they opened out fully which made me uncomfortable as someone could easily climb in the window. A fan was available ... Very welcome given the temp that week. Cleaning staff were excellent. Breakfast was lovely each morning with fresh produce. All the staff here bar one were friendly and efficient. On day three of a five day stay my son got a tummy bug so I was confined to the chalet room all day - in a heat wave!! The hotel were aware of it as I ordered room service but were quite indifferent to the situation apart from a lovely girl who was cleaning the room and offered to get me peppermint tea for my son. Thank u ?? I appreciate it wasn't their problem but it would have been most welcome to get an extra bottle of water (and not be charged). I had problems charging the lunch I ordered and the matter was dealt with in a most unprofessional manner by a member of the restaurant staff but my thanks to the night manager who was most kind. My checkout was efficient again but again I felt lacked an appreciation for the custom. Swimming pool was lovely. Really warm and changing facilities also very good. I would stay again as the location suited me as it is near family, very clean rooms and the food was lovely. Rooms do require upgrading but were more than adequate. It was disappointing that check in/check out was more impersonal than I would have expected.

Stayed 4 nights whilst working in the area during JTuly. Hotel convenient for Coventry area although a detour needs to be taken to reach Coventry as the hotel is sited on the A45 west bound carriageway with no access to the eastbound direction Coventry, involves a short detour. Hotel facilities excellent and clean with very friendly and helpful staff. Had a problem with the evening meal which was very slow on the first evening with the main course initially being delivered before the starters. However, staff were extremely apologetic and provided adequate compensation for the inconvenience. No problems on subsequent evenings. Would definitely use the hotel again for future business trips to Coventry, which occur 4 times per year.

The hotel is clean, has glorious views and we were lucky to be in a room overlooking the golf course. The hotel is clearly stretching it's staff, with 2 weddings on Saturday and 2 on the Sunday, with 3 hen parties and other guests over the weekend. There weren't enough room keys at check-in. There were shortages on towels and slippers. The spa manager was extremely rude and rather than helping and requesting housekeeping replenish her towels we were told we were not allowed towels for the spa/pool as we were given them THE DAY BEFORE! Which we had used, left in our rooms wet and dirty and checked out so no longer had our keys. Our treatments were booked for that morning, but we had to walk back through the hotel to ask if reception could help us. We were sat in the middle of a wedding during lunch on the Sunday (extremely uncomfortable) but the food was amazing (paninis/sandwiches for lunch with salad and vegetable crisps) my meal in the restaurant was amazing... I had monkfish which was on a bed of samphire with pesto potatoes. The drinks were very reasonably priced compared to where I live. The pool was warm, the facilities were great and my treatment was nice. The grounds were well kept and looked very nice. The staff in the restaurant were fantastic and the reception staff were helpful. The room service is a nice option, there is a great restaurant (the breakfast was extensive and you were spoilt for choice - get there before 9am as we were never without coffee and didn't have to queue, at 9am the rush came) and a separate bar. But with so many functions and staff run ragged, they were snippy and the guests were getting the brunt of it. Some of the meals were a little under judged (easily addressed) Some of the staff were very unhelpful and just rude in their customer service Overall we had a brilliant time in a lovely setting. (We were one of the three hen parties staying)

Was a lovely weekend break with my hens ready for the wedding! Had some very good points like the waiters and bar staff were all lovely and took us on the chin very well. The food on the night was so good however all of us who had the ravioli did say 2 pieces was too little and we had more on the starter. Breakfast was lovely and everything you could ever need. A good range of pastries cooked cereals and they came round often with teas and coffees. My only negative really for the trip was the first lady on reception. She was a bit flustered and took this out on us. She was rude and spoke to fast. Also there were no keys for the room and we were an hour after when we could of checked in. They didn't seem very friendly saying just go to the spa. Even though we had all of stuff and just wanted to settle and get into the rooms. They could have offered us a drink in the bar or a late check out the next day but nothing was offered and it very much felt like it was our fault. It was a bad impression to your hotel luckily your staff in the restaurant made up for this massively. (Also agree with the too many wedding/hen/parties in one go. Felt awkward whilst sat in middle of someone else's wedding who were having canapes whilst we were having a lunch- there was 10 of us)

What a fabulous weekend a very big thank you to all the staff in the restaurant especially Jordan and the restaurant manager who were absolutely amazing and joined in with our silly games. Apart from the odd person appearing a little stressed everyone in the hotel made our stay first class definitely coming back here ??

We have just returned from a very enjoyable but confused weekend with a group of friends staying at the Windmill village golf club hotel and Spa on the outskirts of Coventry. Good points:- the golf course was well maintained and the room was clean and spacious with a great shower. Not so good points:- the Saturday night meal was at best average, my frozen banana desert was banana ice cream not a frozen banana, a friends ravioli had two, yes two ravioli parcels, we had to ask three times for water with ice, they were understaffed for the three wedding parties and numerous dinner parties they had booked for the evening. The same staffing issue arose at breakfast where we had to wait 10 minutes for a coffee top up after three times of asking. The number of weddings / people booked in also caused logistics problems as by the Sunday lunchtime when yet another wedding was in full flow they had run out of crisps and Stowford press cider. I think the hotel needs to work out whether it is a wedding venue or a relaxing golf and spa venue, I am not convinced they sit comfortably side by side as we felt like uninvited gate crashers at a wedding and if I were having my special wedding day here would I be happy that two other weddings were taking place at the same time as my special day? It looks as if the greed is stopping someone from saying we have enough on, no more, and because of this standards appear to have dropped.

We spent two nights here, not for the golf or spa facilities but just as a base while we visited nearly attractions such as Kenilworth castle, Coventry cathedral, so can't comment on other aspects. We had Room 1, over reception - decor a bit gloomy and dated but that didn't really matter, as the room was large, clean, comfortable, clean and had all the facilities anyone could want. Very helpful staff - breakfast on Sunday morning, going down at 9.30, was extremely hectic, but the young staff coped brilliantly, as did the kitchen staff as everything was promptly replenished and the staff remained cheerful and efficient throughout. The bed was large and very comfortable. Very good selection at breakfast, evening meal not quite the same standard - very interesting combinations of ingredients, good flavours, execution not perfect. However the 'crispy' pork belly that certainly wasn't, was at least promptly replaced with a better version. I don't mind mistakes if they get fixed! Happy overall, would return.

The rooms are clean and comfortable with what you need. The staff were helpful and friendly even though some members of the group had a few problems but these were more to do with the agreement between the hotel and the company. My personal struggle was the uninteresting food for my specific requirements even though they had notice prior to my arrival and on each day as I booked into the restaurant. Sitting with colleagues the menu was varied and beautifully presented just a shame the same attention wasn't given.

We only booked for one night as we we're going to a wedding at a venue close by the following day, having stayed in a Best Western hotel before it was our first choice, and once again didn't disappoint. Our double room was on the ground floor, overlooking the golf course with patio doors opening on to a small terrace, this was most welcome during a very hot spell of weather. We ate in the cellar bar which was very busy and seemed a bit short staffed, but Connor & Will did an excellent job of making sure we knew our food was on its way. Despite waiting quite awhile between courses, the food, when it did arrive was gorgeous and well worth waiting for. Despite the heat we had fairly good nights sleep & this was one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in when away from home. As we needed an early start the fact that they started to mow the golf course at just after 6 o'clock wasn't a great concern, but worth a mention as it could be a nuisance for anyone expecting a bit of a lie in. The buffet breakfast was a delight, well laid out with lots of choice, and the lady behind the hot foot table, (possibly name Julie) was very friendly. On returning to our room, the tractor and trailer had been parked a few feet from the terraced area outside our room which was disappointing, totally obscuring a lovely view, and the maintenance staff were working on the raised area just close by. They were quite noisy and we heard every word they said, & again, as we were up and about anyway this was ok but maybe not so for other guests, and whilst I appreciate they have a job to do, they should bear this in mind. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here, would we return if in the area again? Most definitely.

Got married here in 2014, all staff were excellent. The hotel rooms are quite nice, the views are stunning. There are a few different function rooms, so there are options to pick the correct one for you. Food for the wedding was amazing, all our guests commented on the quality. Location is great too, although the access/exit road requires repairs. Ample parking for all guests. All in all, we are so glad that we picked this location for our wedding, if you do the same, you will not be disappointed.

We booked a short break via golf breaks and must say great value and a cracking golf course. The hotel was of a very good standard with well equipped room. Dinner and breakfast was very good. The course itself has a few cheeky holes but the course on the whole also provides you with opportunities for birdies/pars. Enjoyed the stay so much we will return.

I had booked 3 rooms for 2 nights through booking.com on a dinner bed and breakfast rate, the rate for two nights was £240 per stay. Two rooms were on the 2nd floor, one overlooked the car park and the other had a patio and overlooked the golf course, the third room was on the third floor and had a view over the golf course (room tip request an odd number room for the view !) All three rooms were excellent, the beds huge, nicely decorated, well equipped, very quiet and extremely clean. The first night we ate in the cellar bar Wales played Portugal and it was very busy although we were warned of a slight delay with the food, considering how busy it was the delay was not noticed and the staff coped very well. The meals are not huge portions but are very tasty and well presented. The second night we ate in the Fairways restaurant and the food was excellent, again not huge portions and you don't have a great selection but there is something for everyone. Breakfasts on both days had a very large selection of every type of food you would expect in a breakfast, and a chef on hand if there was something else you wanted prepared. The pool and spa area was very nice to use and a nice way to relax at the end of the day ! The staff in each area are very friendly and nothing seemed to much trouble for them. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel and look forward to staying there again

We stayed just one night as we were part of a wedding party and the hotel was the location for the reception. The rooms and facilities exceeded our expectations - some chain hotel rooms have a tendency to feel more like motels rather than hotels but at the Best Western Windmill our rooms definitely felt like nice hotel rooms with everything you need for a comfortable nights stay. The staff in the restaurant where we had breakfast in the morning were wonderful - especially Julie who I believe was a chef but for some reason was in the restaurant. She went above and beyond what was expected and looked for and found my cardigan which I'd left in the hotel bar the night before, nothing was too much trouble for her. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice, the views in of the gardens and over the golf course are lovely. Sadly we didn't have time to use the the pool or spa. This hotel may not of been my first choice if I was choosing it myself we only stayed here because of the wedding but I can honestly say I would be more than happy to return to this hotel as well as recommending it to family and friends.

We stay for two nights and had a lovely break in hotel it was really nice to stay overnight staff are really friendly reasonable price will stay soon when visiting family bedroom was really big and was really good planing to come back nearly Christmas

Great location very easy to find and short distance away from several tourist attractions, the room is very clean, tidy and comfortable and a decent size. Some of the rooms have a nice view over the golf course however others oversee a busy road which can be rather loud. If you are a light sleeper it may be worth requesting alternative room, the staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. There is a set menu with several dishes on offer. There is free parking available also. Would visit again.

Lovely quiet room overlooking the golf course with its own patio. Comfy bed and quality linen. We had our society dinner dance in one of the hotels function rooms. Lovely food but the service was a bit disorganised. The staff though were all very nice and helpful. Had a few drinks in the Cellar bar whilst watching the footie. Again great views from all rooms used. Breakfast was very good with a huge selection, English, continental buffet style or you could order something freshly made from the kitchen. We didn't get chance to use the pool or spa but it looked lovely and clean. Over all a lovely stay and would definitely stay there again.

While visiting Warwick Castle we booked a one night stay here, this hotel is just 20 mins away and much better value than any of the hotels near Warwick. Check in and out was quick and pleasant, room had everything you could need, we had a problem with the TV and this was sorted out very quickly, bed a bit on the soft side for me but some may prefer this. Breakfast was very nice and overall very pleased with the stay.

This hotel was reasonably priced for the week I stayed. The rooms were OK although I'd have like air conditioning as it was a very humid week at the time of me staying there. Cellar bar was good and reasonably priced. Good gym, clean pool and also had sauna and steam room which I used each day. Open from 6:30am until 10:30pm. The only thing that spoiled it which isn't the fault of the hotel was the getting into Coventry city centre. In a taxi it was £10 to get to the hotel but going back was nearly £20 because the junction on the road is only accessible one way.

Stay here on business. Staff are friendly. However bedrooms need updating. Pillows are like sacks of potatoes. Restaurant is fine. Although staff need better training. Food and drink orders both wrong. Bar food / in room service isn't great. Greasy and over salty. Wifi is poor too. Not great when you need it for business.

The Windmill Village has both great value moderate & higher priced rooms. There is a superb Restaurant and well presented breakfast options. It has open views over the Golf Course and countryside, together with a good Bar with tasty & sizeable meals

I stayed one night at the hotel as we had traveled up from London for a wedding and we weren't disappointed. Though a little old-fashioned, our room was a decent size, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was big and also super clean - something I always look for in a hotel! the only downside was that the towel rail was constantly heated and as the weather was also warm the room got quite stuffy, so we definitely needed the windows open! Breakfast the next day was a full English buffet, with fruit, cereals and yoghurts also on offer so a great selection and all tasty. My boyfriend's mum and aunt made full use of the gym and pool which was lovely according to them. We all would have liked some spa treatments however they were booked up - it did look good so this was a shame. The golf course also looked great and the guys in the group were definitely disappointed that they didn't bring their clubs. Would definitely recommend!

Me and my partner came here for a pampering session and a spa day with complimentary tea and cakes which was lovely, we decided to take their offer up on the cakes and tea after we had a couple of hours in the spa. Unfortunately the biggest concern was the Spa and the locker rooms! Because the locker rooms are also used by the gym members upon my arrival I changed and discovered there was no lockers available due to a big shortage because half of the lockers were broken or had no keys which was really disappointing from a fairly well known club I would of expected that to of been sorted a long time ago however the members told me it's been like it for months! So after waiting 30 minutes a locker eventually became available! So I figured it can only get better from here surely?! We decided to go in to the spa and it was freezing cold! When we read on the website we assumed that the jacuzzi would of been heated but it wasn't so if you're looking for a spa day please read this before booking! But it wasn't all bad the massage was fantastic, the Greek lady was so pleasant and really made me feel at ease. She was very bubbling and took the time to get to know me which was a nice experience. And the tea and cakes were really nice, we had a beautiful view and some lovely cakes to eat! In conclusion, if you're looking for a day out have a massage, tea and cakes you can't go wrong here but if you're looking to go to the spa I would strongly urge you to go elsewhere.

Positives. Good hotel, very helpful, efficient,friendly and helpful staff in all areas of the hotel. Clean tidy room, black out blind and curtains are excellent. The Spa and gym are well equipped, Breakfast good quality and a wide selection of it. Minor Negatives. Had a 6am wake up call because of the mowers cutting the golf course grass outside the room both mornings. No A/C in this room. Travel tips. Hotel is right next to a dual carriagway, easy to get to the hotel, but not easy to get to Coventry other than by car.. There is the 900 bus, its a 15min walk to the bus stop near a one stop shop, £2 fare to Coventry, rtn bus stop is outside the hotel (google map it). Overall very nice break.

My family and I stayed at the Windmill Village Hotel for one night as we were hosting a function there. The service in all areas of the hotel was excellent. All the staff we met were friendly, polite, and ready to go the extra mile. Congratulations to the training team. My only criticism, which is not the fault of the hotel, is that to get to Coventry you need to drive half way to Birmingham in order to find a U turn on the A45.

We were looking for an overnight spa break in the Coventry area and Google brought up this place. We went with a group of friends to celebrate a 40th birthday. I thought £95 was a fab deal for two course lunch with wine, use of spa facilities, a treatment, a three course dinner, overnight stay and a fabulous breakfast. I thought there would be a catch but there wasn't. The rooms very lovely and very clean. Food was gorgeous and not a limited menu which often happens on a deal break. The staff were helpful and friendly. We had a great view of the golf course too and the surroundings were very pretty. Absolutely great value for money and perfect for what we were looking for. Stayed here for several nights on business. A lovely hotel - nice staff and clean rooms. Breakfast was always good - full English and continental. Spa is brilliant - lush pool and sauna and steam room. Gym is a good size with several machines. Food in main restaurant and downstairs st bar is good. Would definitely recommend for business, families or romantic break.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a conference. Alvaro and Connor are excellent, very good members of staff. We ate in the restaurant one night and in the bar the other, food was top notch. We used the swimming pool, steam room, and sauna. Excellent facilities and good wifi. Will be back for sure.

It really was a fantastic stay. The food was excellence and the booze was plentiful! I slept well and the room was very clean. The staff were so friendly. Daniel made me laugh on a number of occasions and I found he was always there when I needed him!

Lovely room with a patio and views of the golf course. Good and friendly service from all of the staff. Stayed here many times and standards are consistently high. Good food, but the only disappointment is that the restaurant menu needs to change more often.

We stayed one night whilst visiting one of our sons. The hotel was quiet and we had a very relaxed time. Our room overlooked the golf course and surrounding countryside which was really lovely. We did not hear any noise from the busy A45 next to the hotel. Staff were excellent. David on the front desk was really welcoming and so helpful. The swimming pool was excellent, though changing facilities need to be updated. The restaurant and cellar bar were really lovely; lots of space to relax and talk with friends and family. The cellar bar and in particular the restaurant, where breakfast was served had a lovely outlook over the golf course. Breakfast was very good, but fruit juice was of a low standard and also the fruit salad which was tinned. The cooked breakfast was excellent. The waiting staff were really excellent.

We have now hosted several of our regional conferences at the Best Western plus Windmill Village hotel. Alex and her team have been brilliant in organising meetings and liaising with me regarding the finer details. We use outside room called The Chapel Room which has plenty of space and is well equipped to cope with our kind of regional meeting hosting a proximally 20 people. All tea and coffee and excellent buffet spread and inclusive within the deal and I can highly recommend this facility for anybody wishing to host any kind of conference. Thank you and well done all.

We stayed here for two nights over the weekend. Our room was clean and a good size but the furniture needs a good clean. The fold up camp bed was awful. As soon as you kneel on the bed your leg would go through the mattress and the wires underneath. We did complain but nothing was done, the basically said that there wasn't anything they could do. So we had to remove all bedding from the other beds and put them underneath the mattress of the camp bed just so our daughter could have two half decent nights sleep. Saying that the first night we stayed we had a group of drunk people shouting right outside our door so basically we didn't sleep at all. Breakfast was nice but the continental side could have been better. Swimming pool was nice and clean. Grounds were beautiful. I would stay again but only if they invest in decent fold up beds as the ones they have are not even fit for a dog to sleep on.

I booked a night at this hotel, it was reasonably pric d so I booked a second night. The second night was 60% more than the first night and they ' don't mention it as a policy'. Despite me asking them to justify the increase they couldn't.

Very clean and tidy hotel. Stunning view over the golf course. As far as middle of the row hotels go, this is up there as one of the better ones. We didn't eat here but stayed here for a wedding nearby. Just the job. There is a nice lake that the kids thought was the sea!

I stayed in this hotel recently and would not recommend it to anyone. I arrived late in the evening, and after setting up for a trade show, discovered I didn't have any hot water, it was so late that I didn't call reception and I suffered a cold shower before going to bed. The next morning I woke up to still no hot water. I rang reception to be told that someone would come up immediately. I waited 45 minutes and no one came. As I was there for a trade show I was unable to wait any longer. During the day I contacted the reception again, firstly I was asked had I reported, then I was told that they were dealing with it. That evening I go back to my room to get ready as I had a dinner to go to. There was still no hot water. So I braced myself for yet another cold shower. Before going out I went down to reception to ask again what they were going to do about it. I was told to wait till everyone else in the hotel had washed and then maybe I would have some hot water!!!! This went of for two evenings and two mornings with the staff doing absolutely nothing to solve the issue. On the last night I insisted that I was moved to another room. I had booked an executive room with two beds and as my roomy was not going to be there that evening it was easier just to move me. I was given the impression by the duty manager, that after all the inconvenience, he would look after me. On the third night I went to the room that I'd been moved to discover that I didn't even have a bath!By this time I was feeling a little bit jaded by the whole experience so I asked them to move me to another room. Hell would freeze over before I stayed in this hotel again. And the duty manager said anything to appease me when I was standing there infront of him and never followed through when I wasn't. It was room 3 if anyone is interested… They said they've never had issues with this room before but I think it must be the last one on the hot water loop, so if you are happy to wait for the rest of the hotel before you wash morning and evening then it's perfect. If not then avoid like the plague! In the interests of fairness I was a given £35 discount for each night. So that's a £17.50 discount for each person, and in my opinion doesn't anywhere near cover the hassle, discomfort that we experienced in this hotel. I was there for social event and work! Having hot water is a basic requirement when you travel anywhere! Shame on you Best Western Coventry!

Stayed at windmill village hotel on Monday night and had a bit of a mixed view. I can't fault the staff as they were very friendly and very professional. Food was also very nice and the general view overlooking the golf course was nice also. The thing that let it down for me is that the room that I got put into is probably less than 20 foot away from a very busy road so traffic is audible on a night time. That is the only thing that let the hotel down. I must add that the room i was in was in a sort of outbuilding so not part of the main complex. I am sure if your in the main complex the road noise would not be a problem at all.

We stayed for one night at the windmill village best western with our dog. The grounds and golf course are beautiful, the rooms are clean and functional. Can't pass judgement on food as we didn't eat there but all in all a pleasant experience for us all.

We had an amazing stay, the rooms were very clean, staff were incredibly friendly, breakfast the next day was superb... I had the best jights sleep, really comfy beds lol, our friends wedding reception was beautiful and everything went so well, the food was awesome too... the only negative was that we couldn't get checked in all day, every time we went up to reception our room still wast ready even at 5pm!! We ended up checking in after the speaches around 7pm... other than this it was a wonderful say and we would stay again and would highly recommend to others ?? xx

Booked here to get married with over 100 family/guests on the 1st may what can I say had the best day ever All of staff so helpful food was out of this world rooms where we stayed for the night where very clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was help your self to as much as you want all very good and fresh . All in all this is a very good hotel and I can highly recommend it if you want just a drink ,meal ,or something more special come here you won't be disappointed Thanks again to all the staff Maurice and teresa

Had a wonderful 3 day stay with my family. Whilst I was working, great business facilities but whilst checking in staff immediately wanted to make sure my young children were also accommodated, the kitchen made all food they wanted and they pretty much stayed in the hotel using to pool and spa facilities for the duration. The staff were extremely helpful we were very comfortable all weekend long, we hope to visit again soon. Thank you to all staff esp Kym Mellor who made such a fuss of the girls and made our stay the best it could have been. Xxx

I have stayed here on three previous occasions for an annual foot conference. This year the quality of staff food and total experience has been enhanced through new management and evidently, good quality in house training and staff development. Previous years the restaurant has fallen foul of coping with numbers but through good organisation and management they were able to deal with increased numbers as well as improving the quality of the dining experience and food. The spa area was excellent and the total experience was very good. I had a room in one of the outer buildings but the quality of room was by no means diminished. My bed was the size of a tennis court. .

This is the fifth year I have run a 3 day conference at this hotel with almost 500 people through the doors over the weekend. The quality of the amenities and services provided by hotel and the professionalism and friendliness of the staff is excellent. Conferencing facilities, bedrooms and the quality of the food in the restaurant and private dining is superb and we are already booked in again for our autumn conference and spring 2017. Well done to all.

The hotel is at the end of a pleasant village just outside of Coventry (about a twelve Pound taxi ride from the city centre). It has a golf course, spa, swimming pool and caters to groups including weddings. We had a group dinner and breakfast and the food in fairways restaurant was actually pretty good (especially the breakfast). The dinner had a good variety of options and wine. The hotel staff are very courteous and pleasant. The room I stayed in (was downgraded to a single because I arrived on my own) was pretty tired, but was very quiet even though there were two weddings on site that night.

Stayed here for three nights, very nice clean hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was very good with a range of different things. But have to say for dinner they can do with more vegi options as there was hardly anything to eat apart from chips and pizza everyday. Would highly recommend, for a nice get away break. Great views, and good for golfers. Would definitely revisit!

We attended a family members wedding here this weekend. The staff were helpful, polite and accommodating , one staff member KYM over saw the whole day and is a credit to the company, amazing lady, who put in very long hours on the day. Nothing was too much for any staff member and all smiled the whole day. The room was decorated and organised beautifully , table cloths Were beautifully white and the whole hotel was clean and tidy. Food was lovely and steaming hot when it arrived at the tables. Staff were very well organised and everything ran smoothly .VERY Well done to all staff you made the day a pleasant and memable experience. HIGHLY recommended for wedding functions. And we will defiantly be return just for a weekend break X

We stayed at this hotel on business on the night of 9th May. On arrival we were told that the boiler in the main hotel had packed up 10 minutes ago and they could not guarantee that it would be fixed that night so we were offered what can only be described as 'Crossroads Motel' type chalet rooms outside of the main hotel. We had no option but to accept this accommodation as we had an event the next day with an early start and it was imperative we had hot water and these chalet rooms had not been affected by the boiler. So I picked up my room key to chalet 20 and oh my goodness! The room looked like something out of the 1960's hence my Crossroads Motel reference. My room was tiny and had a ghastly musty smell. The bed was a tiny double. The wardrobe resembled a coffin turned upright and contained some rather unpleasant dirty blanket type thing and a ridiculous half ironing board that served zero purpose whatsoever! The curtain on the left was hanging off, the paintwork was dirty and quite frankly it was a disgrace and I would never have chosen to stay in such poor accommodation even for £20 a night - let alone the £89 they were charging my company. The TV was stuck on Kiss FM radio station and I had to phone to complain wherein they replaced the batteries in the remote. This is by no means a luxury hotel - the accommodation is the worst I have ever experienced - I would rate it budget and desperate! That evening we went to the Bar for dinner and once again another nightmare to add to my dreadful experience at this hotel. We waited over 2 hours for our food at which point we were so tired it was ridiculous. When it eventually turned up they had forgotten my colleagues pizza - the waiter in charge told us that he had sent it back as he was not happy with the quality which was a blatant lie!! They forgot various sides we had ordered and it was a complete shambolic state of affairs. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I personally will never stay there again. My colleagues hairdryer gave her an electric shock and one of our clients was given a room to shower in (he was in the main hotel without hot water) only to have a stranger walking in on him as they had also given said stranger key to same room to shower in!! A youth hostel would be cleaner and better value!!!

What an absolutely amazing venue for a wedding, everything was perfect, the ceremony had me in tears almost throughout, so beautifully put together, the Windmill suite looked fantastic and the food and service we all received was exemplary. (Kim's customer service was outstanding, a massive thank you Kim for looking after us all so well) Some of the family had travelled a distance so stayed over and all the rooms were spotless and my Son and Daughter-in-law were very impressed with the bridal suite. The food was of a very high standard also and I would fully recommend you guys to anyone looking for a venue. One very impressed Mother of the Groom.

I stayed her very recently with my wife. Reception were friendly and helpful, which was needed as there was a distinct lack of information in the room. The hotel itself is in need of refurbishment, with old hallways and rooms juxtaposed against much more modern leisure facilities and restaurant area. Being a golfer, I was disappointed by the very poor putting green and practice facilities; I found it impossible to read a putt, and on hitting a drive in the nets found my ball fly straight through a hole never to be seen again! Food was quite tasty, but we found the £3.50 tray charge for room service a little insulting when the prices were already high - I chose to go and collect our food from the restaurant to avoid the charge. On the positive side, facing a golf course gave us one of the loveliest views we have had from a hotel room, and the hotel seems fairly conveniently located. Although I did not use the pool or spa (I love to swim, but the pool seemed constantly full of children), the facilities seemed good. I also want to thank them for giving us a free upgrade to help my heavily pregnant wife!

The setting was beautiful, the staff excellent and the food second to none. The perfect place to hold a wedding with a comprehensive package, professional staff overseeing the proceedings and top class food including an amazing breakfast.

Stayed on a Saturday night. There were two huge functions that night which did not affect our stay at all. Restaurant food was delicious and spa treatments were fantastic. The buffet breakfast was super and plentiful. The rooms were quiet despite being on a dual carriageway with lovely views. Only slight niggle is no air con in rooms or restaurant on a very hot weekend. Loved our stay thank you!

Had a lovely stay. Hotel and grounds are lovely. Only things that let it down for us were:- Firstly the hotel advertises in the rooms that it offers afternoon and cream teas. We went to the bar & asked the bar staff where to go for this. The barmaid just pulled a face and said the hotel didn't do that. She just stood there pulling a face afterwards like I had green antlers growing out of my head or something! Reception were busy so couldn't be bothered waiting to ask. Secondly the room information clearly states that you can order hot beverages 24 hours a day. At 11.00pm we attempted to order a cappuccino & a latte to be told the bar was closed and the hot drink machine had been switched off. We were best just to use the kettle in the room. They did however bring us some complimentary biscuits. Had it not been for these two things hotel would have been given 5 stars.

Close to Coventry but easy access for Birmingham Airport. Pool, Gym available along with its own Golf course. My latest stay was on a loverly sunny evening which allowed to sit outside over looking the golf course, very relaxing .The room was to the standard I would expect, clean with the bits I need for my stay over. I do like to have a walk when staying at hotels and try a local pub but there is nothing nearby. Check always appears slow so I go for an early exit each time.

the hotel is near a busy dual carriageway and my room was only single glazed so lots of road noise during sleeping hours, nice setting against the golf course and most of the staff are okay, one or two need more training as they are rather brusque when serving drinks, food etc , the buildings are tatty in places paint flaking off etc but I get the impression there is some modernisation starting as new beds were delivered and fitted whilst we were there, price for the room I felt was too high given the above points,

Our recent stay at The Windmill Village Hotel was excellent. Although the hotel is close to urban areas it has beautiful views from the dining room across the golf course and to fields beyond that. The immediate grounds are beautifully kept and the spring flowers gave the whole hotel a welcoming feel. All areas of the hotel, including our room were clean and staff were very friendly and especially helpful. One of our party had a number of food allergies and the kitchen put together a special menu for our friend at a moments notice which she said was very good. The standard menu was also excellent - quality and portion size were both good. Our room was warm and the enormous bed was extremely comfortable. We had ants coming up through a tiny hole in the tile grout in our bathroom during the first night (they also appreciated the cosy room!!) but these were swiftly dealt with by staff the next day and there were no further sightings. Since returning home we have realised that we had left a heavy package in the room - which is being held for us until we return in 6 weeks time. All in all a very good experience - thank you to all the staff - we couldn't ask for more.

Stayed at the Windmill Village Spa & Golf Resort for a few days...staff are very friendly...rooms are a little dated but clean and tidy...lovely swimming pool & spa facilities and beautiful golf course..lots of eating places and supermarkets locally.

We recently stayed at this hotel and I have mixed reviews regarding it. First of all on the one hand, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious, well cooked and hot. On the other hand however I booked a double room and received a twin, the room was clean on appearance but when I moved one of the beds underneath it, there were loads of toe nail clippings and a bottle top. Clearly the cleaners clean what can be seen and do not move the beds out to hoover. The ceilings were also paper thin and so I could hear all movements above me. This meant that I was woken early by the noise of people walking about and doors opening and shutting.

Stayed here for a wedding which was also located at the venue. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly the food at the reception was amazing and very short wait between courses. The room itself was clean and comfortable with a fantastic view of the golf course but could do with a bit of an update. Checkin in and out was quick and easy.

stayed here with our motorbikes for our Coventry to brighton run, we had a club fish and chip supper which was excellent, the room was good, clean and the staff were fabulous. will stay here again next year and think the rest of our group will to. we did stay in the main hotel not a lodge. no complaints what so ever oh and breakfast is great such a choice

Overnight stay for a work function nearby. The main hotel looked quite nice but allocated a room in a lodge in the car park. Backed on to an extremely busy road. Room was old fashioned - artex to all walls. Bathroom tiny but right on the main road so loud traffic noise all night. No air conditioning so had to open window but on ground floor so didn't feel safe to do so for long. Room above with paper thin ceiling - unfortunately could hear everytime the gentleman upstairs went to the toilet - four times during the night! Only upside was the restaurant - food and service excellent - such a shame only two other tables occupied. Fabulous meal. No water supplied in room so had to pay £4 for a bottle from the bar - they only had large bottles! Opted to have breakfast in room as very early start. Totally uninspiring. Shame but dreadful stay - would never choose to stay again unless guaranteed room in main hotel. But would highly recommend the restaurant.

Got a fantastic deal for 2 nights for 2 couples on hotels.com; cost less than staying at a Premier Inn. What a wonderfully pleasant surprise when we arrived. Our relatives had a room in the main building and they were delighted with the peace and comfort of their room, which had a spacious en suite with a bath. We had a room in one of the complex of "lodge" buildings, almost village like. The lodge buildings are all substantial stone buildings. Our room was also very well appointed with spacious en suite bathroom. I was concerned about traffic noise, as the complex is by the A45, and I'm a light sleeper. Never heard a thing - couldn't have been more peaceful. We dined in the restaurant on Friday night. Quality high-end restaurant quality food. Good selection of wines. The staff were terrific; professional and good humoured - made the night even more special. Breakfast was great; buffet style with all the hot and cold food types that you could possibly want, while looking over the lovely golf course and open Warwickshire countryside. What a find! We'll be back!!

A catch up with a friend about once a quarter we find a nice hotel to have dinner and stay . Lovely village layout . Room had view of the golf course , the pool was nice too . Food good service average I have to say and at breakfast I had lovely fresh omelette but they seemed short of staff.sleep quality was poor due to the room being too hot and plots of activity doors banging in corridors form about 5 am onwards

Stayed from Friday till Monday. Stayed in chalet type room, loved it, felt more private. Bit noisy from upstairs guests but not too bad.Staff were all v welcoming + eager to help.Everywhere clean + shining. Breakfasts lovely. We were on an organised weekend which was all well done.

When we pulled into the Windmill Village car-park we were pleased by the quaint layout of the hotel - it is like a little village. It had a main complex which houses most of the rooms and reception and then more rooms jotted around the complex in their own little sections. This is all laid out in-front of some pretty impressive scenery and a lovely golf course. We arrived at the hotel at around 10am and thought we'd try and check-in early - we weren't expecting them to do so but there was a room available and we were allowed to access it to dump our bags - all good so far. We left the hotel around 11am and didn't return until 10pm - our keys to our door didn't work. Apparently there was some issue with the water, and the shower was broken - basically they wanted us to move rooms. We got a new room and transferred all our belongings from our old room to this new room - this new room did not have a double bed but twin beds - we were too tired to go and complain but it annoyed me that we'd paid for a double and got a twin. There was a wedding going on in the hotel on the day we checked in, it sounded like we were moved to a section where a lot of the wedding party were staying because I didn't get a good nights sleep, doors closing constantly, people talking loudly, tvs being played, toilets being used late at night - the rooms are certainly not sound-proofed to a good standard.. the noise went on till quite late - and so I didn't get a good nights sleep. On checkout, we weren't asked how our stay was, just a smile from reception and that was us on our way - we only wanted a place to stay for a good nights sleep for a weekend in Coventry - the hotel failed - doubt we'll return.

Really nice hotel, clean with nice amenities , welcoming staff, overall nice stay. No problems with parking. Food really nice and makes a nice change to have room service. would recommend to others. nothing else to add

The hotel is in a beautiful setting, with clean, well equipped rooms. The staff were keen to please, and insisted on escort using to our room, even though it was well sign-posted. While the bed was comfortable, we were disappointed to discover the hotel's definition of a double bed is two twins made up as one large bed, resulting in a rather uncomfortable section in the middle. Our room was in one of the lodges backing on to the road, and was accessed via a balcony that is in need of refurbishment. We took advantage of the free use of the swimming pool in the early afternoon, and were delighted with how empty it was. The pool including a swimming kit drying, which is especially useful when staying away from home. The breakfast buffet includes a wide selection of items, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They were especially good with children. We were unimpressed with the sausages, which did not match the quality of the other items of offer. There was an odd arrangement with drinks, with tea and coffee served by the individual cup by staff. Unfortunately, they were not forthcoming in serving it, and it was extremely strong. On our second morning we had to request fresh drinks, as it appeared a coffee flask has been refilled with coffee-an unpleasant experience! Overall, we felt that it is a very good hotel and a stay is good value for money, although there were some minor issues which annoyingly detracted from our visit.

This is a lovely hotel in superb grounds and well maintained. Lovely conference or wedding venue, but not suitable for the disabled or people with limited mobility. The bar is downstairs with no lift the restaurant is upstairs with no lift and they are both a long way from the main part of hotel and bedrooms which is very strange. The staff are predominantly foreign and their command of the English language is very mixed and poor. Food was good although the breakfast chef was so slow it was cold before we got it.

Using many hotels across the UK the Windmill Hotel is a little gem rooms and bed very comfortable also if luck you get a great view of the golf course Staff one member to mention is Phillapa on reception who was fantastic and is a credit to the hotel nothing to much trouble pleasant and always smiling bar and restaurant also good value for money have already booked another 2 nights for work purposes

Very friendly and welcoming staff. We had a room in the outside stable block area which was very good, own parking as well outside the room. Everything very clean and well presented. Ideal location for Coventry and Birmingham.

We stayed as a family of 4 for 2 nights. The view from our bedroom overlooking the golf course, was gorgeous. The hotel is lovely, modern, clean, everyone is friendly. We ate in the bar on our 1st night which was very good value, and the food was excellent. The pool and the facilities was excellent. Overall, we had a fantastic 2 days and would definitely recommend this hotel, and would not hesitate to return.

A few friends and I stayed at this hotel last month and we loved it. The staff were very approachable and helpful. The room was spacious and clean although there was a notable smell in the air. the staff in the spa were brilliant. I had a full body scrub and it was amazing. The only minor fault we found was that the jacuzzi wasn't at the temperature we expected. Other than that we had a great time. Dinner was delish and plenty of options for breakfast. We'd definitely return to this hotel.

The hotel is on the border of Coventry set in a lovely rural location overlooking the golf course. The rooms are very pleasant and the staff generally very friendly. Fantastic leisure facilities. Bit disappointed about the breakfast especially as it is a 4 star hotel.

Initial stay on a 3 day business trip, pretty grim in all honesty, no real welcome, small but clean, adequate room, no directions re hotel facilities and after being sent back to room to get a hotel towel as spa had 'run out' to work out deposit for a gym locker which changed on a daily basis dreadful. Ignored at breakfast and ended up getting own coffee on a plus breakfast was really tasty. 2nd part.. 4 day business trip which had been pre booked saw me set off with a heavy heart. But this time a warm welcome, great room on ground floor, airy and spacious. Still have not worked out deposit for spa lockers but hey ho.!! Stayed in a fair few 4 and 5 star hotels and personally for the price I expect a much better standard of consistent professionalism. I would return but only on a deal. Ps Although it's advertised as a free breakfast on trip advisor you do have to pay!!

Stay for one night for a family wedding. Lovely room in the older part of the building, comfortable four poster bed lovely furnishings clean room with everything you would need for your stay. Bar typical hotel with limited real ale choices but at least they had a couple. Plenty of choice at breakfast all nice and fresh. Staff at all times very welcoming made for a lovely stay. We got this all for a really good price by going direct to the hotel website it was double the price on comparison sites.

Very friendly and welcoming, room was lovely and clean, could have done with another plug or extension lead, breakfast was very nice and staff all helpful and accommodating. Would recommend and visit again

If I hadn't arrived late, I'd have moved hotels. This room , number 4, was the worst room I've ever stayed in. It was tiny, revoltingly decorated and stank of shake-and-vac. Location is ok. But right on a very busy dual carriageway. Wanted to go for a run in the morning, but apart from running along the busy road, I could run over the sodden golf course at the back. So had to use a running machine, which I hate.

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night as it is very close to Warwick University. I had requested a quiet room and I was placed in a room right next to the motorway! The room was no very clean and the toilet smelt of urine. The toilet was not cleaned and I could see urine dried on the seat. It was even difficult to lift the seat as it was stuck with the dried urine. I was kept awake from 4:30 am by the load motorway which my room was right on top of. The breakfast however was great and about the only good thing there. I was even unlucky enough to try the bathrooms by the restaurant and there was left over vomit in and around the loo which I reported to the reception but didn't see them taking any action on!

My Wife and I stayed here on a 2 night Bed and Breakfast basis. Everything was just perfect, from the Check-in, to the Room, Breakfast, and the Restaurant and Cellar Bar where we had meals on both nights. This is a Hotel that certainly lives up to the "Best " in Western. We will certainly pay a return visit.

The restaurant and bar staff have to be singled out as being very professional at the same time as being helpful and friendly without clock watching. They were able to put every guest at ease and it was like having American staff (dare I say it, but if you've been you'll know). The room was clean, not huge but snug. The bonus was as I was in one of the lodges, I was able to park my vehicle right outside the door. Which is a big bonus when loading and unloading your bags, etc. The downside was that the fan for the kitchens is about 10 meters away and it's on all night. But on the Brightside my room was a short walk to the bar and restaurant so you win some lose some. My stay was at a time that there had just been an almighty downpour of rain. This flooded/waterlogged most of the golf course so it was free of golfers milling around so I was able to forget that there was a golf club there as well :-) Wi-Fi if of an interest was clock at 30-37Mb so if having a business meeting there, you will be able to access good internet.

Room was clean and opened onto golf course,decor was a bit tired. Evening meal and service was excellent as was breakfast. The Spa break experience however was not! There were problems with bookings- the package we wanted was 2 nights B&B with dinner and 2 treatments. We could only have 1 night and 1 treatment which cost more pp.There were no towels(we had to go and retrieve our used ones from our room) and no robes and slippers either.
