Best Western Charleston Inn

After a three day drive to swim in the beautiful blue pool, found it covered in leaves, Green with bacteria and padlocked all week. Paid in full M-F! The GM Gere Gerald Simmons never returned a call. Offered no compensation. Never showed up on the property. Absent every day. I came at 7am to catch him. It's been over an hour on Thursday! He's still a no show! Don't believe the photos! Pool permanently closed! Management has not called me back in 4 days since I arrived. Sitting in reception just waiting for a manager. It's pouring rain and nothing to do at the hotel! No credit offered! Tried to make the best of it and went to Folly Beach. Freezing and windy. Turned around and drove home. Never been to a more poorly managed Best Western. Until this week, I've always enjoyed Best Westerns. Avoid!!! Thumbs down Best Western Charleston Inn, CharlestonSc!!!! Green Algae locked pool! No offers to help in any way. One manager offered a $50 discount but the the GM wrote- NO DISCOUNT!!!

Very comfortable but why we did not give this top rating was the total disregard for trying to help the planet at breakfast . Everything from crockery to cutlery was plastic ! Surely with being a huge chain like that they can make an effort to change for our world!!!!!!!! We visited October 2023 , let's hope they've made or are making some progress in that domaine …… not to be taken lightly

This is definitely an older property (60's or 70's style) but don't let that fool you. It was very clean and one of the quietest hotels we've stayed at in a very long time. The breakfast was typical for free breakfast places. It is right on Hwy 17 (Savannah Hwy.) and is convenient to many restaurants etc. and about 15 minutes to downtown. We would stay here again

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. We had stayed at the Sleep Inn next door. the Best Western was a little more expensive, but the breakfast was better, especially for my wife who eats gluten free and we were able to park immediately in front of our accessible room. These extras were well worth the extra cost. The breakfast was good and the attendant was very attentive to see that everything was available. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

This Best Western was convenient to downtown Charleston and all kinds of shopping and restaurants. The bed and room overall were comfortable. Wish it had been warmer so we could have used the outdoor pool. Would stay again.

The set up to get to the room was a little confusing. Friendly front desk staff. One of the towels had someone's dark curly hair or pubes on it in the bathroom. Other than that was a decent stay! Comfy bed. The hotel was nice for a one night stay. Central to a lot of things.

Hotel staff are super friendly and room was great. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was perfect for what we needed. The parking on the property was also awesome and the area is great for getting into Charleston

Everything was very nice we enjoy our stay very much I had family to come over and visit and they really love the place I had a pool view room everything was just excellent I will recommend this place to anyone who I know is coming to Charleston and want a nice sleep breakfast and very nice location I thank you and your staff very much Gary Chapman

Our stay at Best Western was wonderful, nice comfy beds, very clean rooms and my husband enjoyed a great breakfast. Staff was exceptional in assisting us concerning a booking problem. We would highly recommend a stay at this Charleston location. Easy convenient hotel location to catch our cruise ship from.

Excellent basic motel. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Decor tired/dated. Breakfast better than most of this class. Excellent location: easy drive into historic Charleston as well as sites outside the city itself. Many good restaurants close by.

Clean, comfortable and affordable. Right outside the city. We booked last minute and so glad we did. The lady at check in was beyond helpful and gave us some great advice on where to go (I can't remember her name, she had short grey hair with red lowlights). The lady at breakfast was also super nice each morning!

The staff was friendly, the hotel room was clean and updated and the pool was wonderful. The price was reasonable. I would recommend Best Western to others traveling in Charleston who want a quieter stay away from the rush of downtown Charleston.

Stayed in a suite which was spacious and clean! It was nice to have this kind of isolation for me to do my work... all at a reasonable price! I arrived after midnight to check in at a late time, the guest services attendant stayed up waiting for me and had already made preparations in their system so that I wouldn't have to check-in and reserve a new place when I arrived. Very helpful! One thing to be mindful of... in my suite, the thermostat was located such that the AC would cycle frequently. I have no complaint about this because I plan for minor issues like this when I travel. Ear plugs were my workaround.

The pool area is beautiful and breakfast had great hot and cold choices. The room was ok. Good pillows but small beds. A cobweb in the corner and the chairs needed a cleaning in the folds Minor issues but that's why I couldn't give more stars

First room had a guest in a lawn chair in front of it drinking and chain smoking. It reeked of smoke, wasn't very nice, and the toilet didn't flush well. I gave it an hour or two, but the smell didn't dissipate, so I went to the desk and asked for a different room. The desk attendent initially hesitated. I pointed out I was a loyalty member and she said “at the basic level.” Yes, at the basic level—I'm not a business traveler, and I often use 3rd party sites to score a deal. Nonetheless, I booked this hotel directly, for three nights, based on positive reviews. I have to think that means something in the competitive world of hospitality and lodging. She put us in a pool view room in the main building. It was much nicer smelling and the toilet worked. However, we ran out of the one toilet paper 2 days in, and housekeeping did not leave any more when they cleaned our room. We had to go to the front desk and ask for it — a small but telling inconvenience. The pool, which was a big reason we booked, was locked until the morning we checked out “for maintenance” even though I had seen people cleaning it. So all in all, though our second room was nice, I would not recommend this hotel to future guests at this price point. The location was very convenient if you have a car.

Roaches were crawling on the wall when we arrived. Was moved into another room and roaches where in that room too.Was not able to find another hotel due to the late hour. We we're not able to sleep because we we're afraid roaches would crawl on the bed.

Breakfast staff was rude. Eggs were empty and sausage was turned off sitting in hardend grease. Killed 2 spiders in the room. No elevator. Toilet had to be flused by opening the back even after maintenance claimed it was fixed.

Better than expected. Minor detail, like small piece of carpet coming up near bathroom. Everything else was great. Several ports to charge electronics, even on the microwave. Breakfast options were good

Great location close to historic Charleston. Rooms were very clean, and the property has some nice grass patches for walking pets. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay a short drive from Charge.

Our room was spot on clean, quiet, and comfortable! Great location and just a short ride to downtown, can't beat the price! Bonus: the hotel is pet friendly too. Definitely recommend if you are visiting the area.

This was not my first stay here. In fact, I chose to stay here based on the wonderful stays I had in the past. This trip did not disappoint. It was the perfect location for the event(s) that we were attending in the area. The staff was helpful and kind and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay.

Older, but well maintained and clean hotel. Quick ride to City Market and attractions.. Better than average breakfast. Good choice at a good price. Attractive pool area surrounded by shrubs and flowers.

This is an old hotel that has been totally renovated. Some might be put off because all rooms are entered from outside. Don't let that stop you from staying. The rooms were nicely furnished, clean and comfortable. The bed was also comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

We needed a clean, safe room for an overnight stay prior to a cruise. Best Western exceeded our reviews. We felt very safe in the area, the room was clean and the bed was great. The hot breakfast was awesome, Ms Kim did an exceptional job! The best breakfast we've had at a hotel / motel. Thank You, Best Western. We will not hesitate to stay again for our next cruise.

Very quiet and professional. I would stay there again when I visit Charleston. They had several people working so there wasn't a wait line. Room was clean and food was great. Waffles, pancake, fruit, sausage, omelet, coffee and juice.

My daughter and I stayed 3 nights here. Check in was fast and friendly. The room was nice. Beds were comfy. We had no issues with noise or parking. The bathroom sink drained slowly, but this wasn't a big deal. We were happy with this location because of the price. Breakfast was what you might expect. We didn't use the pool, but it was quite large. Only real knock on this place was a maid that kept banging on the locked door at 9am. Felt like pressure to leave.

The breakfast is my favorite part, the people who cooked the breakfast definitely love cook and serve,5/5 five plus stars to breakfast!! Bedding is very comfortable and clean!! Manager is friendly, location also great, very convenient to everything in Charleston, will come back whenever in town

This hotel offers a very clean, modern, well-maintained facility, with comfortable rooms. The breakfast included with our room fee was a very pleasant surprise. They have a large cafeteria separate from the lobby, which had a very wide selection of breakfast foods, both hot and cold, including great coffee, fruits and juices, eggs, bacon, waffles, pancakes, cereals, yogurts, etc. We would love to stay there again when we are in the area.

This trip was due to a family emergency and it was extremely stressful but as soon as we arrived we were welcomed into a peaceful environment and the fact that it was 10 minutes away from MUSC was a extra bonus!

My stay was excellent. I have stayed at BW in Ladson in prior years. Savannah hwy location was closer to my family plans. Room was very nice. Towels were clean. No noise. Breakfast was very good for me. Did not try pool. Did not use fitness option. Maybe next time. Office staff were very good and friendly.

Very nice stay. Clean and comfortable. Very good breakfast. Front desk representative Bill was very efficient and gracious. He made our kids' morning by giving them little stuffed shark souvenirs and also sunglasses. We will be back.

10/10 would stay again in a heartbeat. the food was incredible and room clean the staff was courteous and kind great location and SUPER FAST WIFI great place and had a couple issues with the key cards not working but the desk staff as more than helpful.

Checked in here to stay for the night and park the car for 11 days while we go on our cruise. We paid for a stay and cruise package so we did not have to park at the cruise terminal. The first night was $149.00 and the next was $169.00 that covered leaving the car for the 10 days while on the cruise and the shuttle from the hotel to the Cruise terminal and back. The shuttle buses were practically new and very clean. Check was flawless and great service while we were there. Very nice full breakfast included. Beautiful pool if your so brave in December fo a swim.

Excellent customer service. Clean and comfortable. Good location, center to plans for the city. Within walking distance of food, within easy driving of airport, downtown and local sites. Would definitly stay with East Western again.

Best Western Charleston Inn was one of the best stays I've had in a hotel - I went with my mom and her dog for Thanksgiving break. Staff was great, room was comfy and clean. I wish I extended my stay longer!

I stayed here for 2 nights and found the location good for what I wanted to see and do in Charleston. It's in a safe area of West Ashley and is close to a nice greenway for walking, running, or cycling. The room was clean and mostly quiet although I did occasionally hear others outside. Breakfast was good with eggs, yogurt, cereals (hot and cold), breads, coffee, etc.

woke up with bed bug bites immediately found the bedbugs took pictures and took it down to front desk and checked out.. Manager wasnt on site so i had to email them to the front desk clerk. Called back and spoke with the most disgusting rudest manger there customer care line is a joke!!!

My motel room was very nice and clean with comfy beds. It was only a short ride to alot of things like restaurants and grocery stores.I would definitely stay jhere again if I need to come back to Charleston

Military spouse made a non-refundable reservation online and when showed up to for the stay was refused service and turned away. They also refused to issue a refund. They stated a policy that I cannot find published anywhere: they don't rent to locals. We are not locals, the military recently stationed us somewhere new and my spouse had to make a trip to Charleston for a friend's funeral that I could not attend due to my service commitment. We no longer live in the area and had to make a reservation at a hotel due to not being locals.

The BW is located on the main road,conveniently located.We had a room on the main floor, parking right outside the entrance.I found it was outdated for the price of the room.It does have breakfast,you will find something to get you going for the day.

The hotel was very comfortable. well maintained and clean. The front desk staff were cheerful and extremely helpful. Excellent breakfast in quality and choices. Easy to get to from the airport and the downtown.

Hope you like being keep up at night. room was noisy. Cleanliness average. Buffet was ok, just a standard continental breakfast. Just an overall ok experience, probably won't be back. Location was good. Noot fat from downtown and the port.

Clean rooms, small in nature but has everything you need. Great breakfast options and good service. Had Kuerig coffeemaker in room which was nice.Has a nice pool but was in hurricane time, so off limits. Close to highway

Friendly staff let me check in a bit early. Large, clean room with fridge, TV etc. Plenty of free parking on site. Good, free breakfast. Some shops and restaurants short drive away. About 20 minutes' drive to downtown.

Check in was easy. The guest room was clean and there was lots of hot water in the shower. There was a Keurig coffee maker with both regular and decaf coffee. The hot breakfast was delicious with omelets, bagels, waffles or cold cereal. Excellent!

Checked in late and when I got to room it had fleas picked 11 fleas put in toilet took picture and showed to management and all they said was thanks for showing this. Won't stay at any Best Westerns anymore.

Clean, friendly, helpful with easy parking. Large pool. Lots of hot and cold breakfast choices. Short drive to historic Charleston and surrounding sights. I would recommend this property to families, solo and business travelers.

The room was clean and great location for our needs. We stayed two nights and had a king size room. The keurig in our room wouldn't work but my husband went up to the lobby each morning to get his coffee. It was perfect for our needs this trip

Our 2-night stay was fantastic in every way! Warmly welcomed after an arduous 8-hr drive, we so appreciated our clean, comfy room for a much-needed good night's sleep. The magnificently landscaped grounds enhanced our short trek to brekkie. The spacious Breakfast Room—bustling w/guests & inviting culinary aromas—was happily managed by Miss Kim, def the Hostess w/the Mostest! Her efficiency was homeric from replenishing coffee urns & buffet chafing dishes to condiments, all with caring, charming, southern hospitality! Armed w/some great tips from April @ the front desk on how to spend our one day in Downtown Charleston, we ubered across the bridge for a horse-drawn carriage ride, shopping @ The Market, immersed in charming Charleston. Returned to BW in time for a refreshing dip in the sparkling, cool pool. Comfortable chaises & beach towels were plentiful. Following a great night's rest, shower, & all packed up, we loved having another bountiful morning meal in Miss Kim's cheer-full Breakfast Room. Thanks For The Memories, we'll be back ;-)

Booked this hotel for a long weekend after reading the positive reviews on here. I didn't have high standards when booking this hotel, but was just looking for a clean place to stay while visiting a friend in Charleston. Unfortunately this property was unable to provide that. Upon arrival, I noticed hundreds of what looked like human hairs on both of my beds. I contacted the front desk, who sent house keeping over to change the sheets. While changing the sheets, the housekeeper threw our pillows on the (stained) room floor, and then placed them back on the bed. She was surprised when we kindly asked for new pillows, so I unfortunately believe this is standard... Both of the new sheets had what appeared to be blood stains in multiple places. At that point we just sprayed the bed in isopropyl alcohol and hoped for the best. The desk chair was covered in small, white pieces that looked like crumbs or bugs. There were also bugs in the bathroom. I have stayed at many hotels, several of which were BW. This was by far the worst property I have ever been at. I would not recommend that anyone stay here due to the extremely unsanitary conditions.

My partner and I stayed at this Best Western in July for three nights while visiting family in town. The staff were really kind and allowed our niece and nephew over for a swim at the pool. The breakfast had a great selection of bread, eggs, waffles and pancakes, plus various types of yogurt. Everything was really clean and tidy. Our room was clean and well stocked with coffee and tea. We will definitely stay there again when back in town!

We stayed in a large, quiet room with 2 queen-size beds. The bathroom sinks and shower have quality faucets (Kohler, American Standard). A nice large 37” flat screen LG TV, with a working mini refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker (with a few K-cups), and microwave. Convenient outlets on lamps' bases. Two sinks, one inside bathroom, and one outside bathroom – a nice touch! There is a very nice large 18x36(?) pool (well-maintained – pool sides swept, automatic pool cleaner, nice multi-color lighting in pool, area kept clean). Well-manicured flowers and plants around the pool area. A free continental breakfast is offered, with a large variety, including some unique items: 2 types of waffles (regular, blueberry - with blueberry syrup!), a pancake machine, cheese omelets, and sausage patties. The breakfast was kept well-stocked. The breakfast area was clean, with tables both inside and a few outside on the patio. Parking was convenient to your room (a short walk). The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. My only issue was with the tissue (the TP was 1-ply). I would highly recommend this hotel, and I would stay here again when I visit this area.

I was staying in a near by RV park so booked this hotel from my parents based on good reviews. They did not realize it the access to rooms was outside and made them uneasy. Also no elevator and my Mom was struggling with the stairs. My fault not looking into that for them. They said the door had gaps around it and could see light and heat thru it. I told them to tell the front desk when they leave. The biggest frustration was when they went to check out and were taking their belongings back and forth the car the cleaning person was standing in the door and would not leave them alone. My dad told her check out time was still 30 mins away and to come back but kept just hovering. He got rattled and rushing and ended up leaving some items in the hotel drawers. One was a book and when he called back the next day they had it and he went to pick it up and did not realize it was not even the correct book. This review it not necessarily a negative review to warn staying here just be aware of type of hotel it is and if have challenges with staff call the front office and don't be pressured to rushed if not warranted.

I am so grateful I changed my reservation to stay at Best Western Charleston Inn from the hotel I originally booked. From start to finish everything was great with our stay. Nicole at the front desk was super sweet and made check in super easy. The bed was so comfy I really did not want to get out of bed! We booked a pool view room which brought tons of light into the room. One of my favorite parts of the room was an actual table and chairs to sit and eat at. I also liked having two sinks in the room so more than one person could get ready while the other took a shower. There were zero issues with cleanliness other than a faint smell of old cigarette smoke when we first walked into the room. I never noticed it after the first time I walked in. Getting to major attractions in Charleston as well as nearby beaches were quick drives. It was so convenient to park right outside of our room too. I am usually skeptical of hotel pictures but I was surprised at how big the pool area was! When we return to Charleston in the future we will no doubt return to this property!

Enjoyed our stay here, The pool was nice, the property had really pretty flowers. The breakfast was convenient, Miss Kim in the breakfast room was lovely. Had a couple of glitches that were handled quickly and did not take away from any of our plans. The beds were very comfortable,, showers were HOT.

My family enjoy our stay at Best Western Charleston Inn. Best Western overall this is good hotel to stay at. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and staff Kimberly was very helpful.

This place is nice! It looks brand new, and the employees are big on keeping things clean, inside and out. I don't think I ever saw someone there who wasn't busy sweeping or wiping things down. The breakfast was great!. I've stayed at other Best Westerns where the "breakfast" was bagels and toast. But this place had an actual HOT breakfast, with eggs, and waffles, and sausage. The main thing that impressed me the most was an employee named Kim. As the kitchen was getting ready to close, she stood in front of us, and with this wonderful smile on her face, thanked us all for staying at The Best Western, and that she hoped we had a safe journey to wherever it was that we were going, and hopefully we would stay with them again in the near future. Now, I have been staying with Best Western for decades, to get the points. But this was the FIRST TIME that ANYONE on the kitchen staff actually thanked a roomful of people for staying with them. Know this: I work in sales for a multi-billion dollar company. I know what CUSTOMER SERVICE is, and have a briefcase full of service awards to prove that. I know from which I speak. This small kindness that this lady gave to a roomful of strangers, absolutely made my day. It confirmed to me that there are still good people left in this world, and I couldn't help but think how much better it would be if it had a few more human beings like Kim. It is because of people like her, that I, and my family, are now, and will continue to be, LIFELONG Best Western customers! I don't care how far we have to travel, but we. Will stay. At. Best. Western!!! Kim, please promise me that you will always be you. Please, never stop being you.

I have to say there's not much I can find at fault here. As a platinum member of BW and Choice, I by far love BW. This property is on our cross country drive and it was awesome. Checkin was fast, friendly and a welcome gift as a member. The grounds were very well kept and morning breakfast had many choices. Rooms were clean and had plenty of room. If I have a fault it was that breakfast was stopped dead on 9am and you were hussled out. Vacation hotels should serve breakfast till 10 in my opinion, and never push you out it was very "come on let's go". We headed to the pool that was great size and very clean. Again nothing to fault. A+++

We stayed here in April 2022 during spring break. The rooms were clean and the property was quiet. Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. It was in a close proximity to downtown. We enjoyed staying here and not downtown. We would stay here again!

Great place to stay! Rooms are roomy, clean and beds are comfortable. Staff was absolutely awesome and professional especially Ms. April at the front desk. She was very helpful to me, when I had questions about the Best Western app. Also Ms. Kim who made breakfast was a lovely lady! She had a smile that lit up the room and she was friendly to everyone! What a nice way to start out the day! Thank you for making our vacation enjoyable! The pool was great too!

If you are trying to save a dollar do not do it here. The rooms are dirty, run down and extremely dated. While walking to dining area the one room had all kinds of white powder coming out the door to the sidewalk. Have no clue what it was but surely did not want to walk in it. From the highway it looks great. After you check in and drive around back to the rooms your experience begins. Poorly lit to start. I typically do not write a negative review but this is totally justified.

Beautifuly kept property. On easy on/off to rosd. Close to restaurants and fast food. Room had fridge, microwave nice bedding. Clean. Breakfast was very nic, Kim was hostess there and brightened up the morning as well as keeping things hot and ready.

3 Days and it was great. Nice clean spacious room, Great breakfast and lots of choose from. Much better than some higher priced hotels! Very nice employees, one sticks out, April at front desk. Helpful with directions and anything you need there. The POOL was beautiful and clean and so relaxing after a hot day at the beach and downtown, I felt safe there at night and did not see a bunch of shady people hanging around like I have some other places . Vending areas with guest laundry were nice and clean. I will be back and oh yeah, the flowers and landscaping! Beautiful. and a big plus. Did not charge me extra to park in the hotel parking lot as they did in St Augustine Florida!! Thank you for that!

We were looking for a hotel not too far from Folly Beach and this hotel was great for our family after a long beach day. We had a second floor room, it was reasonably spacious, clean, and didn't look dated. The pool area was clean and maintained. Hot breakfast presented plenty of choices and the breakfast room was clean and sunny. The landscaping is very pretty, especially around the central pool area. The air conditioning is typical of a motel, but once we put the fan on constant, it did well. We couldn't tell we were near a busy road once we were on property.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and bed was comfortable. The pool was very nice, they offered towels and pool noodles. The location had some great restaurants near by that we would highly recommend.

April took great care of us at check in and gave us a nice quiet room towards the back of the property on the 2nd floor. Thank you April! There is no elevator so you have to walk up the stairs if you are on the second floor. Okay by us. Because of "covid", there was no "maid service" for the room for the 4 days we were there, we were told this at the beginning and again it was okay by us...we prefer it. Clean towels and soaps were available at the front desk. Breakfast was outstanding. T'Nea took care of supplying everything for the dining room. She ran a smooth ship. Thank you T'Nea! There was a no-touch pancake machine and waffle maker. 3 of the 4 days they served omelettes. One day they were Westerns, those were the best. The scrambled eggs were decent and the bacon was good . I did not like the sausage. Coffee and OJ was very good and they had assorted cereals and danishes. The dining area was clean and properly spaced out, you could even eat outside if you chose to. There was plenty of parking. Hotel property is located very close to Charleston, about 3 miles. Located close to many different restaurants. Room rates were very affordable compared to staying in Charleston proper. Dogs were allowed. Would definitely stay here again or recommend to others.

I love Best Westerns, they allow dogs, prices are perfect, great rooms, nice breakfast and the employees make the hotel. The lady that registered me was super sweet and efficient. Thank you I am glad I stayed at your hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, the rooms are very clean, the grounds are beautiful, the staff was very friendly and helpful. If you're looking for some place to stay in Charleston for a very reasonable price this is a great choice.

Second trip to Charleston and immediately liked the property and staff better than where I stayed a year or so back We had the suite and it was perfect for our trip and was also very clean. Staff was always friendly. I think it was crystal at check in and when I needed towels she was very kind and always smiling she's a keeper I love going to a best western being a best western employee as well and this one was my favorite so far

This was first experience with Best Western and it was great. It started off with a very pleasant staff checking in. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The next time we are in Charleston we will stay here.

A very nice clean hotel. Nice pool, nice breakfast room and menu. Easy commute to Kings Street and all of down town Charleston. I can not say enough about the staff and manager all so helpful and professional.

The lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful. We asked for suggestions on a good, but reasonable, seafood restaurant. She even wrote down the address. Didn't steer us wrong, either. The room was clean, it was quiet overall, and I even got to visit with the neighbor's dog the morning we checked out. I try to stay at a BW whenever I can and was pleased with this choice.

We stayed 3 nights and had a great stay. I will say the 1st room they put us in, room 100, smelled strongly of urine. We immediately notified the front desk and they moved us to room 138 and it was great. It was very clean. The pool area was clean and well maintained. The breakfast bar was great 2 out of 3 mornings...the 3rd morning there was a different attendant and he didnt do well. Breakfast bar had pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit, cereal, yogurt and multiple bread options. The hotel is fairly convenient especially for the price. Lots of dining nearby. You are about 15 minutes from downtown and about 25 minutes from Folly Beach. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and I didnt notice any shady characters hanging around the parking lot. My only complaint is that due to covid....housekeeping never stopped by...not even to get trash, so we ended up taking out our own trash. We will stay again. Keep in mind the pics I took were after we stayed 3 days.

If I could have given this particular Best Western a lower score than 1, I would have. We arrived late at the hotel after a busy day and quickly retired for the night. The next morning, as we got ready for showering, we noticed small insects crawling around the bathroom (toilet, tub, vanity, and walls). We then checked around the rest of the room and there were similar insects on the furniture. I quickly packed my belongings and went straight to the front desk. I described to the man at the desk what we had seen in the room. He immediately said that he would take half off the cost of my bill, but that didn't really calm my nerves about the bugs. When I expressed my concern about what may have gotten into my belongings, and could possibly be brought home with me, he said I could empty my suitcase and he could use bug spray on it. It was as if he wasn't surprised about the whole situation and was prepared with the bug spray. When I arrived home I had to do the best I could with debugging everything. As it was, I found one of very same insects in my home that apparently hitched a ride. It was an extremely upsetting experience! Additionally, the hotel does not have an elevator and our room was on the second floor, which is very inconvenient for bringing suitcases upstairs, and the breakfast was substandard at best. I've never stayed at a Best Western before so can't say anything about the chain, but I would strongly recommend avoiding this particular location.

We stayed there recently for 3 nights while attending a Naval Graduation at Patriots Point. Very close to the Historic District, about 4 miles. Although on a main drag, it was very quiet. Hotel itself is a little aged, but very clean. Rooms were nice and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, full breakfast served. Staff were all great. Only thing is that due to Covid, they are not cleaning rooms until checkout. Clean towels, etc. are available for you to pick up . Room prices were well worth it! We would stay here again.

was quoted $125 per and was charged over $600 for three nights sorry to say my wife have stayed in Charleston in the past stayed in the best in hotel in downtown area for less than $375 no comparison to best western word of caution be careful what you initial at the front desk

When we arrived the Toilet wouldn't flush. The bathroom had mold in it and then there was a barking dog next door to us. We probably won't ever stay at a Best Western again. With all this being said, the breakfast and coffee was good.

For the record, my name is Jack Howard We booked a room on April 10th for a single night in order to take advantage of their program that allows us to leave our car on their property during our cruise with Carnival. We arrived a little before 6 p.m. and our room was not ready. We were able to get to our room a little before 6:30 p.m. and it was obvious the cleaning was quick and very superficial. Carpet was dirty as was the sink and bathroom. I went down to the business center to use their printer and one of the two PC's was asking me to activate Windows...I'm in the business and this is a no-no. Leaving the business center the front desk tells me my girlfriend had just called down to inform them that the toilet was clogged. Their maintenance man was gone for the day but they would be happy to loan us a plunger. I asked for a different room but was refused. The front desk could not find a plunger and teld me someone would drop one off. Back up to the room and about 15 minutes later some random dude in a T-Shirt and sandals knocks on the door to give us the plunger. We were told to leave it outside of the room when we were done. Leaving the next morning the plunger was still sitting outside the room, maybe whoever had the room after us was able to use it. We were going to utilize the hotels service that would give us a ride to the port for our cruise. The hotel overbooked the van for our time slot. Everyone was able to get on the van only after we figured out who was going to sit on who's lap. They got my money, I hope the spend it well because that is all they will see from me.

It was Clean and very quiet. The beds were Comfortable. Nice location. The Only downside was no elevator. They have Breakfast in the AM. The chocolate muffins were EXCELLENT. We Would definitely stay there again.

We reserved a room for overnight because I was having surgery the next day. We are permanent RVers . We used to live in Charleston . We use our son's address for our mail. I reserved on Hotel.com . It was a non refundable room. Upon arrival, we were told , because our address wasn't 40 miles from the hotel , they could not let us have the room. Their print out states they don't rent to Charleston residents for the health and safety of their employees. They make exceptions for medical emergencies, hurricanes, and house fires. My surgery was not deemed a medical emergency by the front desk staff and their manager was not there. When , I reserved the room there was nothing stating these rules . They now have my money and I have no room . It is Easter week in Charleston.

This is a good alternative to the expensive hotel scene in Charleston itself. It's a short drive to downtown, seems to be in a safe area, and the property is well maintained. The landscaping is more attractive than most chain motels. It;s on a highway but we didn't hear any noise (we were at the back of the property). Good selection of restaurants in the area. The breakfast was OK.

This place, with well-tended grounds, was a comfortable destination after a long day of driving. My pleasant room was just steps away from my parking place. The helpful staff was able to answer a number of questions I had about the area. And the breakfast buffet was satisfying though not especially well-stocked.

We were looking for a less expensive to stay near downtown Charleston. This place was clean, safe and has a friendly and helpful staff. It's not the fanciest place but again it was clean and well maintained.

Very satisfied with this motel. Even though it does have some age on it, it is very well kept up. Rooms are up to date. Caring and helpful staff greeted us and provided great service. April at the front desk was very professional and greeted us with a smile and took care of us promptly.

we utilized the shuttle service to and from the port for our cruises. they were reasonable and prompt. Porter and April were friendly and welcoming. breakfast was very good. beds were comfy. pool area was a nice plus to relax in the sun.

The folks were friendly and very helpful. I had an issue with my computer connecting to their wifi and Johnny, assistant manager, took about 30 minutes resolving the problem. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Price was reasonable. The breakfast was excellent. Most important, the staff believes in positive customer service and it shows. Would certainly stay here again.

This hotel is beautiful with the high ceiling, duel sinks, and view of pool. But the A/C runs often eventhou it wasn't hot outside, and when it runs it clunks. We both wore really good ear plugs, but we could still hear it. For that reason we think there may be better hotel options because the main reason to stay at a hotel is to get some sleep. We are glad we're leaving after 3 nights of disruptive sleep. We would have changed rooms, but was told none available. Not sure if all units are so loud, or if we just got lucky. Erin at the front desk is warm, friendly, helpful and welcoming. Some of the other staff were very aloof and rather cold and unwelcoming.

Best place! One of our top Best Western hotels. Room was beautiful and bed was comfy. My grandson decided y'all have the best breakfast ever! Pancakes and waffles, made his trip fabulous. Definitely recommend this hotel. The staff are friendly knowledgeable and go out of their way to make sure you have a great trip!

This was our first visit to. Charleston so we needed help on finding restaurants and tourist info..ck in was a breeze and the front desk folks gave us all the info we needed. Breakfast was great…location to historical downtown Charleston made this best western an easy selection…

I had a terrible experience and I do not recommend this hotel. When I booked the hotel, I made special request that I want a quiet room. When I checked in, the front desk assigned me a room next to the road with heavy traffic. I asked her to switch, and she said "oh, the noise is ok, not that bad". I was taken aback by what she said, and told her I was Best Western's diamond select member and I wanted to talk to her boss. Hearing that, she switched me to a quiet room. I also gave the front desk several Bestwestern travel cards and told her several times to apply those credit to my account. When I checked out the next day, lo and behold, I found the credit was not applied. I had to go through hundreds of emails to find my travel cards again, wasting more of my time. To make things worse, when I talked to the management the next day, the management told me the front desk I had problem with was a "star employee". This is the most hilarious joke I heard that day. I have been a small business owner for 25 years. I know if you treat your customers like this, your business is dead. It seems the manager always respond to each review and give everyone the impression that he cares. He knows how to use this website to promote his business.

Quick ride into historical Charleston and convenient location to everything else. Great for dogs. The breakfast was a decent hotel breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. Most people just stay the night for a stopover.

Clean rooms with an excellent breakfast included. The pool area is beautiful and open year round! Our check in and checkout were smooth. The bed was very comfortable. The location is away from downtown, but an easy 10 minute drive there. After leaving, we realized we'd left a full drawer of clothes behind. The wonderful housekeeping staff had found the clothes and set them aside for us. They sent them to our home via UPS, and were so understanding and kind!

Excellent staff from the front desk to the cleaning and maintenance crew. They were all super nice and helpful all the time. The rooms are dated but the staff, awesome breakfast every day and location more than makes up for that. We will stay here again.

The multiple night stay rate made this an exceptionally good value. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Our room was in the back building so there was no road noise. Loved that they changed up breakfast each day of our stay. We were there to visit family but if you are there to enjoy what Charleston has to offer, it's a convenient location for getting around.

We had a 3 night stay at Best Western Charleston Inn in early October. Our room was in a separate building in the back, facing a wall. It's dark, with dark carpet and the furnishings are decades dated. We booked this hotel based on many Trip advisor raving reviews for this hotel. We did not have the same experience. Those folks must not be paying AARP rate.

What a great hotel, all the staff were really nice and helpful! The property must have been build years ago, but well kept up! Our room had a certain charm about it, unique and colorful unlike other standard Best Westerns we've stayed at. The hotel was newly remodeled, the patio, garden area was beautifully landscaped. The rooms were very clean, and the tile floor was spotless! This hotel was a easy 4 mile drive to downtown Charleston. Needless to say we tipped and thanks our housekeeper!

My adult family members and I came out for my son's wedding. We stayed for 5 days and had a wonderful time. BW was a great location for everywhere we needed and wanted to go. Price was very reasonable and breakfast was substantial and tasty.

Nothing special for much money! It was a nice BW, what actually means, a slightly higher class MOTEL. The room was nice and clean with all counted amenities and the pool area was pretty cozy. That's it. The staff did its job and the breakfast was okay. But with more than 220$ the charge is much too high. Additionally, from our point of view it is a no-go in those days of natural desasters to serve meals - in this case breakfast - solely on a one-way basis producing mountains of trash!!!

This is an older hotel with older hotel problems. The lobby has been updated and breakfast is modern, however the rooms are old, in disrepair and have not been updated. Overall the room was clean, but the carpet disgusting. The door to our room looked like it had been previously bashed in, and the room had the "clean" smell that doesn't leave you for days. Not what you'd expect from a Best Western at all - and especially not for the price I paid.

The biggest warning applies to nearly all hotels on Savannah Highway. The traffic can be insane, so trying to make a left turn in or out of the property can be a huge challenge. Prepare to turn right to turn left. We choose to eat at places within 3/4 of a mile so that we could walk to and from dinner. As for the hotel itself--breakfast and pool are open again. The mattress in the room was very good. Internet worked well. You may want to bring your own shampoo and conditioner as what is provided is small quantity any low quality.

I made a late night reservation and asked if there was a lounge where we could get drinks within the motel and was told yes that there was one on site. When we arrived the desk clerk said that no there wasn't a bar. Then after giving my AARP info to the reservation person either she or the desk clerk gave us a room on the second floor about as far from the stairs in the back of the motel with an outside view of a blank wall. No I will not be returning nor will I recommed it to anyone.

Rooms were clean and the Internet worked incredibly well. I streamed movies on my mobile devices without a hiccup for three nights during my stay. The staff was hit and miss. Some were very friendly and some seemed half asleep. The pool area is nice and clean. The landscaping and outdoor areas are nicely kept. The free breakfast is well… You get what you pay for. There are some things you can't screw up like yogurt and oatmeal. They have a waffle maker. The eggs are obviously powdered eggs and the sausage and “cheese omelettes“ are obviously something they take out of a box frozen and throw in a hot plate. Even that isn't a big deal because like I said it's a free breakfast. The one thing that bothered me was no housekeeping service. I stayed for three nights and had to sign a paper upon check-in that housekeeping services would not be offered because of Covid. That seems slightly ridiculous. Especially if nobody is in the room while you are cleaning. Housekeeping services seem like one of those very basic things you expect while staying at a hotel but I had to make sure I kept everything nice and tidy knowing nobody would clean my room until I checked out.

Flew Breeze airlines from PVD. Great flight, great service, great value. Rented a vehicle. Hotel had coffee pot, refrigerator in room. Breakfast at hotel was awesome. Took a walking tour of the city, a harbor cruise, toured Magnolia Plantation, museum downtown, had a cup of she crab soup. Went to Shemm' Creek. Ate at Vikery's. When Creek was a swinging place.

Sisters yearly vacation. We find somewhere new each year and meet. The hotel grounds are beautiful, very clean rooms..not one bug of any kind. The beds were perfect, soft and clean. The room was pretty spacious. Location is great for James Island, Folly Beach, downtown Charleston and Isle of Palms. The famous Bessingers BBQ is literally a 3 minute walk, must try! The staff was friendly and courteous, no complaints. There's usually something about a hotel that you have complaint about but not really anything worth mentioning here.

Had a great stay in Charleston convenient for many restaurants and sightseeing. Room clean and breakfast and pool all provided. Beds are very well padded . Room was spacious with table and chairs. Reception area had nice new seating.

Best Western Charleston was a great location at a great price. The room was clean and very comfortable, including bed and pillows and shower. The staff was so friendly, especially Erin (the only staffer whose name I know) who checked us in and helped us plan our stay. She recommended eating at Fleet Landing for sea food and Swig and Swine for BBQ. We enjoyed both immensely. The breakfast was delicious - hot and cold and varied. Loved having a microwave and refrigerator in the room. The towels were great because they were absorbent and bigger than normal. We felt as if we were treated like royalty. Would stay there again. Highly recommend Best Western.

if I would have seen the roaches that night I would had have never stayed. they only gave me back half my money. should have been the whole amount. also the rug smelled bad. I stayed at other best westerns that were good.

We found bugs in our room, well cockroaches and other sorts of bugs. Also found a dirty child's diaper behind the TV dresser. When telling staff they switched our room to one closer to the lobby. We enter this room and find bed bugs under the sheets. There was also pubes and other hairs and crumbs on the bed and floor. Floor looked like it haven't been swept or cleaned in years. There was food crumbs on the side of the beds and in other cracks and holes in the room. Stains on the sheets and paint chips on the walls. When “getting” into bed you feel as though the sheets have never been washed and are damp from sweat and mold. One of the nastiest hotels I've stayed at. We ended up leaving at 4am the night we first checked in and the front desk would not give us a full refund. The property is very outdated. When walking into the rooms you feel dirty and unsafe. Extremely disappointed and surprised at how this has over 4 stars. Also lots of sketchy people around. Will never be staying at any best western again. Trust me this is not a hotel you want to stay at.

The outside building looked old but the rooms were perfect. The beds slept wonderful and had a nice comforter. Loved the shelf in the shower, a nice extra touch. The hot breakfast was above and beyond delicious. Great omelets and perfect bacon. The landscape was beautiful around the pool. A nice sitting area.

Husband woke up with bug bites on his arms, chest and belly. There were bugs in room and bathroom. The security latch inside room was almost pulled out of door frame. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. I will not book at this hotel in the future.

Overall experience in our stay was good. The sanitize was lacking since we saw mosquitoes in our room that bite our daughter. There was a complimentary breakfast which was way better than other places we have visited in the past. The front office staff were friendly. The parking were just infront of the room which was great.

Location was ok. This was about 10-12 mins. from downtown & about 15-20 minutes to the Plantations (Magnolia) & was a easy distance from the airport. The hotel needs updating. Our room was not great. The coffee maker had issues. They ran out of creamer (in the breakfast area & for the rooms). Amenities were scarce. The staff (more than one) had a "who gives a .... " attitude. My husband wakes up early, so he would get coffee & sit in the lobby. The amount of complaints/issues by other patrons was astounding. What was more astounding is that the staff did nothing to try to solve the issues. One day they ran out of creamer at breakfast. In the evening I went back to see if they had more - they were still out. The pancake maker didn't work right. The beds were ok, not great. The bathroom was very outdated & we saw a couple bugs in there. I would not stay here again.

Unfortunately these rooms are very tired which makes them feel grubby or dirty! My room actually felt damp the sheets and pillows feel like they need changing! Coffee machine was Dusty the TV remote was sticky, hairs in the bath and empty shampoos no new ones and someone's clothes in the drawers.

The room was disgusting. Their were stains on the wall and the ceiling needed repair. The front desk was nice, but I will never stay here again. I'm still disgusted at how nasty that place was. Never again.

We arrived and it smelled a little strange but didn't bother us. Found a pill on the floor and the bathroom floor was a bit dirty. Some sketchy people around as well. Not bad though, those were just some things that bothered us. Great pool!

The hotel is not kept in good condition! Our toilet seat was so loose it fell off, towel bar kept coming apart, mold on inside of shower curtain, filter in the air unit was so full of dirt and dust it smelled terrible until we cleaned it. Pool was very nice but it sure didn't make up for the issues.

We had a family vacation, great 4 night stay in June. Comfortable beds, clean, they had continental breakfast that had variety given they have modified for COVID restrictions , convenient location and parking, easy to travel to downtown and to attractions, LOVED the pool! And the price was reasonable. Friendly, helpful staff, gave us towels linen immediately when requested since they don't do housekeeping services during you stay, but are quick to address any housekeeping needs you do have. We will definitely stay again!

This hotel has fired it's staff, so there is no cleaning of your room or a fresh delivery of towels everyday. The lights in the room were very dim. In addition, the shower head was rusty. They replaced the shower head, but not with a new one. The water pressure was also bad.

The BEST Best Western I have probably ever stayed at. The rooms were cute and comfy, the staff very helpful and friendly! Can't wait to go back on my next road trip! Wifi was a little spotty, the pool was great!

While just a little farther from downtown than some, this place has nice rooms, an attentive staff and a rare hot breakfast selection. It can be a little difficult to get out into traffic but it's worth the amenities and price.

This hotel is a great place to stay in Charleston for the budget minded. Convenient location within 15 minute ride of most attractions ,clean rooms with super comfortable beds and small fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee pots in the rooms as well, friendly staff, quick check in and check out, hot water, decent breakfast, great rates and pet friendly. Both my husband and I were more than satisfied with our stay. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend!

On our way to Florida we decided to visit Charleston. We stayed at the Best Western staying in downtown Charleston is clumsy and not many simple options. The location of the Best Western made it easy to find and get to downtown.

We just spent 5 nights at this hotel and had a great experience. This is an older property, but it's very well maintained and very clean. The hotel staff members are all very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make sure their guests have a good experience. I consider this hotel to be a great value and look forward to staying here again the next time we're in Charleston!

We booked a five night stay at Best Western in Charleston and from the moment we arrived we were greeted by wonderful staff! Our room was clean and it was quiet at night! We couldnt have asked for a better hotel! 5 stars all around!

Although we requested ground-floor rooms, our request was ignored because we arrived late. We were given an upstairs room which was hard for my husband to carry the luggage up and down when he already had problems navigating the stairs. We could hear the conversations of the adjoining room. The Keurig machine was irratic. The carpet was dirty, but breakfast was good for a take-out. There were several choices, but we picked the sandwich which turned out to be a decent Jimmy Dean egg, sausage and cheese biscuit. We were satisfied with the breakfast choices. Found water in the cabinet under the sink. Wasn't sure if it was due to condensation or other reasons. Good that the room opens to the outside.

From the outside and the lobby it looked like we made a good choice. The receptionist was very nice and gave us directions to our room. Our room was out back facing the backs of houses. As soon as we got there someone asked us if we saw his motorcycle because he said it was just stolen. Our room was very clean and spacious. The issues we had was the people staying there. Multiple people were drunk and stumbling around saying curse words. Not at us just speaking out loud. There was many dogs barking all night from the hotel. I guess it's a dog friendly hotel and that's fine but it's very hard to sleep with lots of dogs barking. The second night I was glad there were no dog noises but at around 2 am I think it was a fire alarm that went off. It was super loud. Someone on our floor got into a domestic fight and they were screaming about calling the police who did show up. Also every night there was random people just lurking around in the dark. I know you can control the people around you but next time we will just spend a bit more to have less scary people around us. Again the rooms were very clean. The hotel maids do a wonderful job. Also the pool was shockingly cold so that was a no go.

Stayed one night. Hotel placed in the very back of the property because we had a pet. Next morning I witnessed to drug sales from the occupant to two different mopes at the fence next to the property. This has clearly been going on for a while since the drug users knew where to go. Best Western put me and my family in a dangerous situation.

All employees were very helpful and welcoming. All areas were very clean and beds were supper comfortable. From age 3 to 68 we all were very pleased. Had to tell my granddaughter we will come back when we can use the pool in warmer weather. No fault on the hotel just miss the nice continental breakfast.

The hotel staff was beyond helpful and made sure that I felt comfortable and very welcomed for the stay. Asked multiple times if I needed anything and when I was checking out they made it very quick and easy as well were very friendly.

Considering how many hotels are not offering any breakfast during this COVID-19 plandemic This Best Western had a great grab and go breakfast menu. We filled out the menu choices the night before and then the next day picked up the breakfast in a sealed bag. Many choices of cereal or breakfast sandwich, juices, fresh fruit, coffee in room, Danish choices or muffins. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful with one exception. We would stay again. Very clean room

There was a very strong bleach odor in the room. The general manager is rude and charges more than the reservation rate. He declined to provide the breakfast to go, since an order was not placed the night before, and we were not told of this requirement.

Check-in was quick and friendly, no offer of breakfast area/or protocol. We had no clue if it was even offered so we ran to grocery store. Came back to check out room, smelled old and funky. Fridge wouldn't turn up to keep things cold and no freezer section of fridge. Had obligations to attend to so we left and came back later. Desk chair was broken, so no sitting there. There was leaves (the kind from trees) under the coffee cups and coffee maker was not clean and the toilet wasn't bolted well to the floor so it wobbled when you sat on it. People were fussing and hollering in the parkimg lot on and off through the evening. Thankfully the bedding was clean and we just left extra early in the morning and got ready for our day in the car. If you just needed to drop and sleep this is fine but not with kids/family.

Room smelled of cigarettes. Mold on shower head and in grout around shower. Water never really got very warm. Walls in room were chipped and painted a color that made it look dirty. Outside of hotel looks dingy. No dog poop bags available at outside location. Breakfast bag meals had multiple substitutions from what we picked so we did not eat most of it. In the evenings when walking our 2 dogs we observed multiple vehicles enter into and park at the back of the parking lot where occupents were observed smoking marijuana.

Have stayed at many Best Western hotels. This one was a disappointment. Bathroom smelled, water drips, carpet old. Breakfast due to COVID was minimal-cold cereal, packaged danish. Very questionable folks prowling the parking lot. Keurig is a nice addition to the room but that's all I can say. Left the hotel this evening and found another one even though we had already paid. The front desk person did not act surprised that we were leaving. She did offer another room but we just didn't feel safe.

Best Western in Charleston gave my wife and I a very enjoyable experience. The room was very clean and the front desk staff was always eager to help our experience. The pool area was 1 of the nicest I've ever seen. Their breakfast was the best I've had since covid started. Keep up yhe great work.

Bed was comfortable and clean. AC worked and was quiet. Otherwise, rooms need updating. Deadbolt lock was not secure. Extra slide lock was loose and also not secure. Water reservoir in mini Keurig had bugs and dust in it, floating in the water. Got up to take a shower before heading out to a doctor's appointment and the tub spout shot across the tub. It had apparently come off previously and had been pushed back on without being repaired. Who ever cleaned the tub last had to have known the tub spout was not attached. Had I been standing in the tub instead of outside the tub, it would have bruised or cut my leg. The water pressure pushed the spout off the copper pipe to the point there was water out in the doorway.

Our stay was great! We had great customer service and our room was great also. We had air problems and the lady at the desk got us in another room and was very nice to us about it. We highly recommend this hotel if you are ever in the Charleston area.

I expect a great night's sleep when booking with Best Western. I received the opposite of a good night sleep here last Saturday. Spent all day traveling just to lay down on a urine stained bed, to then be moved to a room that had big bugs. They charged me for two nights in exchange for the one horrible night I experienced there. When I checked out the front desk agent shook her head and said there was nothing they could do for the inconveniences.

Checked in and was given a room on the last row on bottom floor. Went to room and there was some guests out on the curb smoking some strange smelling cigarettes. Every time I went to my car to get something they were always a little to close to my car. The room is good and clean and I still like to small size pillows. Covid breakfast was below average. Only one flavor muffin and only milk and no juices.i wouldn't stay here again.

We did not feel comfortable in the section of the hotel because of some guests next to our room. We asked the reception desk to give us another room at a different section of the hotel. She refused. On top of that, she would cancel our reservation unless we pay extra rate for another similar room at a different section. It was almost 10pm. Terrible experience.

We love staying at Best Western Inn In Charleston. It is close to family, shops, stores, restaurants, downtown, and beach. We have family and friends in Charleston and we have been staying at Best Western in Charleston for several years now and we have enjoyed our stays at Best Western Charleston Inn. We will be back soon.

We stayed 5 nights and every night they charged me over $600 and it was hell trying to get my money fixed and put back in my account. There was only one time that it was easily fixed. I will never recommend a Best Western to anyone!!!

I've stayed at multiple Best Westerns all over the United States, this was by far one of the worst experiences I've had. The check in was where it started. I was told my credit card didnt go through with the online reservation. No one called or emailed me about this, I was told someone tried to call me. When I arrived at the hotel I used the same credit card I used to book the room. It was processed completely fine. We got checked in, we're told the room as upstairs in the back building. We unload the car, climb up the stairs because there is no elevator only to find out neither one of the "keys" worked. I called down to the front office to be told I would need to come back to get new keys. So we had to reload the car back up & go back to the office to get new keys. Finally get that taken care of, unload the car again, third time on the stairs with heavy suitcases. There were several roaches, both alive & dead in the room. I was told there were no available rooms so we stuck it out. Go to take a bath that night & there is long dark hair on the towels, it didn't belong to either one of us. The bathtub was so low to the ground that you couldn't fill the tub & submerge yourself. If you did there was water all over the floor, I made this mistake. The hot water was one of the best things about this hotel. My friend took a shower, there was a funky smell to the curtain. She said it did very little to keep the water in the tub, so floor got flooded again. The ac was mediocre, it didnt get cold enough to keep the room cold. Even though the beds were comfortable we couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep well because of the temperature in the room. They weren't offering hot breakfast due to covid. They opted to give out brown bags with fruit & danishes etc.. We decided to pass on breakfast Checking out went smoother than checking in. Dante was great & gave me a $20 credit after I showed her the pictures of our room. When I booked the two nights online by total charge was $207.46. Unfortunately my credit card now has two charges at $243.37 & an additional charge of $35.91. After emailing the manager at this location they are currently working on it to resolve this. It will be a long time, if ever that I would stay at this location again. I definitely would not recommend it to anyone.

The Charleston Inn is an older motel but has been remodeled and updated. In addition the staff is friendly and competent. The buffet breakfast is outstanding. First time I saw a make it youself automatic pancake machine. Lots of choices. Many rooms you can park directly in front of your room and its about 4 miles to downtown Charleston

Was a taking a cruise and booked this hotel and used their cruise package deal which includes bus to and from port.. You can also park your car on their property instead paying port prices.. Had a good experience and no complaints.. Great value for the price

We stay allot at Best Western hotels. This one is an upgraded two story motel with a new long. If you have mobility issues ask for the first floor. Nice pool . You could not ask for cleaner or more friendly staff. About an easy 5 mile drive to old town

We always stay at the BW CHARLESTON when traveling thru Charleston.. The hospitality of the staff (all levels) we have interacted with have displayed true Charleston charm. Great location, very clean rooms with comfortable beds. The price is right..

Good hotel to stay at as it's pretty close to downtown (7 minute drive). Rooms were good and hotel staff was very friendly and informative as they recommended some things to do in the city. I am liking Best Western as a hotel as it has very good free breakfasts and good accommodations.

Solid team of helpful employees. Got accomodated when the shuttle to my cruise ship was delayed. Would have been nice to get a call from the desk rather than pull my luggage over and then be told to go back to room and relax for the hour delay.

We spent 1 night at this hotel and was just fine. Normal (to high) price for what they offer. Tipical 2 star BW hotel. Room: a bit dark, good size, confortable bed. Restroom: just good. Breakfast: normal. Basic products/quality. Location: not to good if visiting Historic Charlotte. You can find good prices downtown. Just to stay if you arrive late and just need to sleep and take a shower.

Room was clean. Ice machines were out. They charged $30 for the dog and then had a no pets on the furniture/beds policy. That's a bit much. Seems for 30 bucks they could wash the bedspreads. And there were cigarette butts everywhere in the flower beds.

Overall the Hotel was Great however they are pet friendly so because of that I feel that Housekeeping should clean to the point to where you cannot tell that there was an animal in the room previous to you staying there.

All staff from the front desk to the cleaning crew were helpful and friendly. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Stayed 3 nights to explore Charleston area. I would stay here again and would recommend others to stay at this Best Western.

Older best western but clean friendly staff close to historic Charleston and water front travel quite a bit one of the better breakfast selections also had a keruig coffee maker in room which was nice.

Dated decor but service was good. Room did smell heavily of cleaner on arrival but it didn't affect our stay. Not a lot to do near the location but value was really good. Nice touches like free bottled water on departure.

We checked in on 2/7 after a long, bad day of travel. Staff was very nice, and as our suitcases did not arrive with us, they tried to help out. The front desk staff person was pleasant. We were given a room in the building farthest from the road. When we entered we encountered a musty odor - cigarettes? Past dogs? I don't know. But the room was dark, dingy and smelly so we asked to move. We were moved to a room in the building closer to the road. The room was nicer, though it smelled strongly of Febreze, and after a day or two it was musty. The windows don't open and the door opens to an outside walkway past which guests would walk. The beds were large and the bedding fine, but one side of the mattresss on each bed was caved in. Perhaps due to a slightly different layout the room seemed larger than the other. Be aware, the light for the bathroom connects to a loud fan. Light on, fan on, even if you have to go at night and don't want to wake others in the room. There is no elevator to the second floor so expect to lift suitcases up the stairs. Anyway, we were there five nights. On day 2 the folks at the bottom of the stairs left candy and pizza boxes outside their door. We had to walk through or past some of their mess, and asked that it be cleaned up (as it was outside and I did not want critters attracted). We were told it would be cleaned. On day 3 it was still there, but now there was a suitcase and dirty towels. Again we asked that it be picked up and were told it would be. On day 4 the towels, pizza boxes, candy and random wrappers and broken utensils were now joined by a big bag of garbage. (I am not making this up.) For two or three days when we went out and returned, our room keys did not work and we had to go to the front building to get them remagnetized. Anyway, last day I asked at the front desk about the little boy who had been with the family staying in the garbage room as I hadn't seen him in two days (never saw the others) and I complained there was still random garbage there. The woman who was at the desk asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. I did. I complained about the growing pile of garbage for three days. He said when they tried to remove it the woman complained and since it was hers they could not. But he also said at this time of year they only have grounds staff five days a week. Either way, the idea that they could not clean dirty grounds because someone wanted to keep their dirt should be enough to warn you off. But if that is not enough, this manager told me that at this time of year they have guests who are homeless or drug addicts who book through Priceline. (Good deal with all you can eat breakfast I guess, and muffins and fruit in the lobby.). I had wondered if this place was being used as emergency housing and my suspicions were confirmed. I have no objection to housing folks in need, but frankly, if their garbage is allowed to accumulate and nothing is being done to accommodate paying guests, we should have been told and given the option to book elsewhere.

We have stayed here for years. Super nice staff, updated rooms and the added breakfast choices were great. The walk in shower was fantastic. We recommend this hotel. We did not swim though we did see it being cleaned each morning. A little too cool for us in February.

Was told repeatedly and signed waiver of responsibility that I would be charged a $150 service charge if I smoked in a nonsmoking room. Was given a non smoking room that smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. Obviously they don't check there rooms for odor or charge someone and don't do anything about it. I hate smoke and had to put up with this for my two night stay. Room rating based on smell.

I needed a hotel close to the hospital where I would be seeing my Oncologist and getting my chemo treatment. It took 13 minutes to get to the hospital. Bed was comfortable, but I didn't get much sleep, staff was great.

If you are looking for a place where you can drive to park and gone a cruise out of Charlotte this is a good alternative. We parked our truck for the 5 days and we were shuttled to the ship. The place is big and clean.

We stayed at the Best Western Charleston Inn before and after a cruise!! We have stayed at many different hotels and these were literally the nicest employees we have encountered! Always friendly and very accommodating!! The rooms were updated and clean...and for those who have never stayed at a Best Western, as I had not, the most comfortable beds ever! The front desk employees were some of the most plesant we have ever come in contact with. Thank you Shaunte and Danet!! Ari in housekeeping was so nice. In the breakfast area, Ms. Margaret, Kim and Shaniqua were all wonderful.. It is not often I take the time to get the names of all the employees we come in contact with .. but at this hotel they truly make you feel welcome. Yes it is an older hotel ... but it has been updated. Again I would stay here just because the staff is so nice!

We love to soend the night and leave our van at a hotel before we cruise. This is a perfect affordable option for those cruising from Charleston. The shuttle ride to and from the cruise ship makes for a very smooth trip. huge Hint... ask for the first floor if possible. No elevator and stairs for second floor only no ramp.

We had a great stay, the place was clean, the grounds and pool was landscaped beatifully, service was friendly. Price was good. The only problem was the entrance was on a heavey traffic street. Would stay again.

Very impressed, first time staying here. Room was amazing and the décor and bed was amazing. Staff was excellent. Location is close to everything and easy to get to. I will be staying in the ocean side building for my next visit. This Property will be our base Hotel for the Golfweek Am Tour.

We stayed three nights at the Best Western while visiting Charleston with our dog. Overall, it was a nice stay. Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was pretty good. The location in West Ashley is convenient - about a 10 minute drive to downtown Charleston. We would stay here again if travelling with our dog.

Room was nice and clean and met my expectations for a Best Western. The front desk clerk Danette was super sweet. We missed breakfast and had a long drive so she fixed us a small to-go with a muffin, an apple, and a bottled water. That made all the difference in the world. With that type of customer service...I'll definitely be staying here again.

Motel staff were extremely nice, Danet was so bubbly & helpful, she even updated our room for being a Diamond member along with a gift package. Bed was very comfortable, room was large with Keruig coffeemaker, microwave, and Refrigerator. Hair dryer was alot better than ones that attach to wall and had Argan shampoo&conditioner. Didn't get to try breakfast. Good location also. Was older motel but was kept up as much as possible.

This hotel didn't offer an indoor pool. Also access to all the rooms were from the outside. It was cold outside. The housekeeping team half cleaned the room. Beds were just thrown together...The breakfast was good but not hot. Paid almost 300 dollars for 2 nights. Windows in room were very dirty.

This was our first visit to Charleston.We chose this hotel because of it's location.The front desk staff were exremely friendly and courteous.Danet, was very knowledgeable and helpful,with a great personality.Our room was spotless and smelled fresh and clean.The only drawback was, the picture online made it seem larger than it was.Great view of the pool,although it was to cold out to swim but the view was comforting.The breakfast room was clean and had plenty of breakfast choices.Not bad for a free breakfast.The staff recommended some great places to eat as well.If we return to Charleston in the future,we will definitely stay at this hotel.I would recommend this hotel to friends or anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel with clean rooms and great staff.

Would probably find somewhere else to stay next time. The lobby area was very nice and clean. The room was not. The shower still had the soap and shampoo from the last guest in it. Breakfast was your standard hotel with eggs and bacon.

We did not request a pet friendly room but, bit, did we ever get one. And the hotel was sold out so we couldn't be relocated to a habitable room until the next day. Absolutely disgusting. Room otherwise would have been fine.

There were blood stains on our mattress. Reported to the front desk and this was the response “we have a couple like that, it's old though”. NOT OK. Checked in and put within 10 minutes. Will not be back.

Quick trip to Charleston to see family so only stayed one night. However, it was the most comfortable one night! The beds were so comfortable that the next morning all four of us were looking up the beds to see about buying one. Rooms were nice and clean. Location was great. The continental breakfast was very good. The little omelets were good and my husband was most impressed by the pancake machine. We didn't have a pet but it is pet friendly but the rooms didn't smell like pets had stayed in them. Only negative I can say is the carpet needed to be replaced in our room because it had a tear in it. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is one of the best, Best Westerns we have stayed. Reasonably priced with great amenities. Everything was great from the time we were greeted upon arrival to the time we left. Breakfast was excellent and well displayed and a person was there to help,

We booked this room based on reviews. I'm assuming these reviews did not come from people staying in room 138. Our first impression walking into the room was dirty wet dog. I appreciate that the rooms are pet friendly, I brought our two little dogs. I spent the money to have them groomed right before our trip. Had I not cared about smelling nice I could have never bathed my dogs in their entire lives and they would not have caused any further damage to this room. To me, common sense is pet friendly rooms should NOT have carpet. That's just gross! Every soft surface in the room smelled of dirty dog, including our fresh clean clothes after the first night. This was horribly embarrassing. The ac in the room did not work properly so it was always stuffy. It was warm the first 2 days of our trip and even with the AC set to 64, the room was still stuffy and it was hard to sleep at night, I can't sleep hot. The shower head only sprayed to the left and the right, not the middle. I dont know about you but I like the middle to be clean and rinsed too, some of the most important parts to clean are in the middle. There was a gap between the front door and floor so we always got leaves and dirt blown into our room. Had it not been for the incredibly sweet and helpful Jessica at the front desk we would have packed up and went somewhere nicer. She was so nice, all of the staff were. They deserve a better hotel. So overall, unless they renovate the rooms, no I would not stay there again.

The hotel was very convenient to the sights we had scheduled in Charleston. Our room was very clean, and all of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

As usual best western provide a great experience. Lovely check in staff and little touches make this place stand out from your usual chain type hotel. Breakfast was good, room fine and its in a pretty good location to get into the old part of town. Would go back tomorrow, thanks to all the staff

Jessica, at the desk was most gracious and helpful from the time I phoned in, late, through sign in and sign out. The hotel, inside in the courtyard has the best pool I have seen at a hotel and the courtyard around looks very pleasant. Better than the expensive hotels. Our room was comfortable and included all amenities. An excellent hotel stay contributed to a wonderful trip.

They let us check in early which was much appreciated. Also very dog friendly and allowed dog to be left unattended (as all dog-friendly hotels should). Room was clean and very well appointed for a 2 star.

We picked this place because of the cruise package. We also picked it because we are diamond members and could pick up some more points. We weren't happy with our first room, and they seemed to be very concerned about making it right for us. They moved us to a different room. The hotel has pretty landscaping. It also appears to be well maintained. As diamond members we were upgraded to a room facing the outdoor swimming pool, which was quite nice. The pool area is beautifully landscaped. The hotel has a business center with a computer. There was a Christmas tree in the lobby. The breakfast room was decorated for the season, with a live poinsettia on each table. The breakfast room was large enough to accommodate guests on this weekday. Most of the guests seemed to be cruisers. We were happy with this Best Western and will probably return during our next visit to Charleston.

We recently stayed here with a group of 15 that was going on a cruise out of Charleston. The rooms were clean, a super breakfast bar, and Jessica P and Danette were absolutely fantastic at the front desk. They went above and beyond for our large group. Highly recommend and we will be back!

Clean room, hospitable staff, plenty of grounds for pets to play and relax, they have designated pet rest areas with bags to pickup behind pets. The room had comfortable beds, internet and tv channel selections are good, safe surroundings, plenty of room park vehicle(s). Breakfast food was good, check out time was 12 noon. We have stayed several times at this motel will continue to stay at same when back in Charleston.

Our recent stay at BW Charleston was great. At check in Danet was very warm, friendly and joking around with us and everyone in the lobby. Very good ambassador for your establishment! We asked about a restaurant we passed on the way to the hotel and she recommended we eat there if we want bbq. The “Swig & Swine “ did not disappoint. Thank you Danet!!!! We enjoyed our first night and decided to stay a second night! Clean, great staff, most accommodating, wonderful breakfast and comfortable bed!!!

I come to Charleston every year, and this is the first year i haven't stayed in Mt. Pleasant. I was very happy to find this hotel much less "moist" than hotels on the other side of the city. My room was clean (no smell of mildew or mustiness), the bed comfortable, and the shower hot with good pressure. I appreciated having a safe in the room, too. The blackout curtains worked well enough, though I did use a chair to hold one side tightly against the wall. Breakfast was typical Best Western fare, though the Chobani yogurt was a nice touch--no complaints there. As I arrived after midnight, I had to be buzzed into the lobby to check in, but that process was quick and painless. To get into downtown, I took the CARTA Route 30 bus (runs every hour), which picked up about a quarter mile from the hotel and dropped off at the Visitor's Center. I will definitely consider this hotel for next year.

Our 3 day stay was exceptional. From the time we entered the hotel until we checked out the entire staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean and having stayed at other Best Western Hotels, this was the cleanest and most impressive. In addition, the breakfast was outstanding and I must commend Kim who was so accomodating and did an exceptional job of keeping food replenished as well as keeping the tables clean. She should be commended for her service and great personality. Overall this was a great stay and I will be recommending this hotel and other as well as coming back again.

This property is fantastic. I stay at hotels frequently and I cannot think of a single negative to comment. The rooms were very clean and had everything – large TV with built-in TV Guide, comfortable bed, excellent wifi, safe, Keurig coffee maker, and fridge/ microwave. I have used many business centers in hotel lobbies which usually have out of date computers and problematic printers. This business center was modern, easy to use, and the printer was extremely fast. I don't remember the personnel at any hotel being friendlier than this place! They are extra attentive to ensuring a good experience for their guests. Parking is outside the rooms like old-style motels, which I personally really like. Lastly, they offered a varied breakfast menu (although under-cooked bacon – I finally found a negative!) I highly recommend this hotel.

We had a quick trip to Charleston and had been recommended to stay at Best Western Inn Charleston- there are quite a few hotels to choose from but so glad we stayed here! The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean. The pool area is beautiful- the weather was beautiful and we hung outside in the evening. Great value- we would definitely stay here again.

Although this Best Western seems to be old, they have updated the bathrooms and included mini fridges and microwaves in the rooms. This a a very pet-friendly hotel which means the world to us because we travel with our two little Terrier mixes. The friendly staff does an excellent job of making the rooms clean and inviting, and are all very helpful and attentive to guests' needs. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever experienced while traveling and the bedding/pillow were wonderful! We had the free breakfast buffet and it was good with lots of choices. Only negative I could find was there is a lot of trash around the grounds.

The hotel was very nice, location was perfect comfortable beds, and nice staff, except Jessica at the front desk. She should learn to be more pleasant. Spoke to her on the phone a few weeks before arrival, and she had a nasty attitude then. Upon check in she never stated I had 2 reservations in the system, instead I received a call around 8pm from the 2nd shift staff stating to cancel the additional reservations before I was charged, considering the fact I checked in at 11am. I've never stayed at a hotel where the staff (Jessica) couldn't suggest to the guest of local attractions, restaurants, nightclubs etc. Other than stating " I don't go out" but I see why her attitude sucks. Instead we had to drive up the street to Verizon for a stop and the staff in there gave so many details and directions as to what to do for fun, shopping, Other than that, even the housekeeper was pleasant. Breakfast was ok, patties kinda dry, but making your own waffles and pancakes were fun. We be back as long as I don't have to deal with her.

Chose to stay at BW Charleston, as it was convenient to many of the city's attractions. I was concerned that noise would be a factor, since I could only tell that it was located on US 17. Our room was on the first floor, so easy in and out with luggage, and to our surprise, whisper quiet for sleeping. Though an older property, furnishings, bathroom, etc. have all been upgraded. An in room stocked Keurig (as well as in the lobby) was a welcome addition. We left before breakfast, so cannot comment on that, but, overall, I think this is a great choice in terms of value and cleanliness. Front desk receptionist, Jessica, as very helpful in suggesting a nearby seafood restaurant, and a $5 off coupon was a plus!

Had a lovely stay at the best western inn in Charlston. Room was large clean easy access if you have a mobility. issue. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Great price and close to city. There are many restaurants nearby and its about 10 minutes from Town

We were pleasantly surprised with this Inn. Friendly staff, Nicely decorated. Very pleased with breakfast! They had a large variety of options and a different menu each of the three days we stayed there. Favourite was the mini omelettes, sausages and fresh biscuits. Internet was fast, room very clean and spacious with lots of room for all of our items, bed was very comfortable and grounds were beautiful especially around the immaculate pool. Close to all amenities and restaurants. We had stayed in a horrible motel the night before (not Best Western) so this was wonderful!

Not only is this hotel pet friendly and close to downtown, but it's been compleatly updated and re-decorated. The room was up to speed on pleasent decor, and the mattresses were very comfortable. Outside there was a nice, shaded pet walking area for our girl. We would reccommend this hotel to anyone for value and comfort.

Thought this was closer to town but ended up being a gem. Quiet, close, convenient and loved the bed! There is a whole foods close by too. Loved the breakfast lady Margaret, and the food was good. Team were on top if or needs and questions.

Upon arrival ( earlier than 3) the desk girl was very upbeat and friendly and adorable letting us check in early. Even though the room was clean and the grounds and pool are very well kept I did not get a cheery, bright room you see pictured on the website. Everything you could want as far as convenience was there but not that bright cheery feeling. The beds were comfortable and clean but the furniture was outdated and worn. There seemed to be an odor in the room also. It wasn't mold but maybe pet odor? The breakfast was delicious and of good quality and comfortable seating. Upon checkout was asked how we liked our stay and was asked what could have made it more pleasant which I think is very smart of BW. She noted it on a pad. Not disappointed because of the value but not my choice for an extended stay vacation.

This Best Western location is fabulous. Very friendly staff more than willing to help. Grounds are extremely well maintained. Breakfast room large; has good selection and very helpful staff. Pet friendly which to us is very important. Nice location near good places to eat and easy access to historic Charleston. Great value for the $$ spent. Highly recommend this property.

We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Charleston Inn. We came for a much needed vacation and it was great. The hotel was very nice, as well as the staff. The ladies at the front desk were welcoming & helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was well kept, cleaned daily and the staff always brought a lively atmosphere. I'm extremely pleased with my stay! The only trouble I ran into was connectivity to Wi-Fi but they made every effort to address the issue.

We spent the night here because we had an early morning doctors appointment the next day. I had booked this hotel never having stayed here before. I went by the reviews. And the reviews were right. This hotel is very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful and it is quiet. Best of all the room didn't have a foul odor like many other hotels in this area. The continental breakfast was extensive, cereal, eggs, bacon, waffles, etc. All in all I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was neat and clean (I check behind and under things and strip beds before getting settled). Breakfast was well stocked and just as clean and orderly as the rest of the facility that I saw. The next time I'm in Charleston I'll be staying at the Charleston Inn again.

The hotel had been renovated but still was outdated. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The employees did their best to make up for all this and were warm and friendly and eager to help. I would not return to this property.

We stayed here for 3 nights while we toured Charleston and the surrounding area beaches. We had a light not working and they fixed it within 10 min. This is an older hotel , but room are set up like a motel with entrance from the parking lot, not the lobby. The breakfast was good and all the workers were pleasant and helpful. We would stay here again.

Very clean hotel located in West Ashley. Rooms are very comfortable. Hotel is convenient to downtown and shopping. Will be going back and using cruise package that includes free shuttle. Free parking on site.

Very charming Motel, older but very well kept and refurbished. We loved to stay and enjoyed the very good American breakfast, too. The staff especially at breakfast was extremely nice. One thing: the beds were very soft and could maybe be renewed.

While this is an older property, it is very well kept up. The check in was great, the room very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was good. The only issues I encountered here was the highway traffic, but I can't hold it against the hotel! I'll definitely be back!

Very pleased with the accommodations and cleanliness of the rooms and the grounds. We had our small dog with us and walk paths were provided for pets. Our room offered a king size bed with a sofa and sitting area. The linens were above average and the room was extremely comfortable.

We stayed one night using the stay park and cruise package. It was wonderful. The room was very clean. Breakfast was great. And our car was safe and sound when we returned from the cruise. The shuttle to and from the cruise was also great. Definitely recommend.

We have stayed at the Best Western Charleston Inn several times over the last few years. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable. We have always experienced consistently good service, as well as a friendly staff. The breakfast buffet is excellent with quality and variety. The location is very good, being only a few miles away from downtown Charleston. It is also conveniently located with respect to sites of interest, such as Charles Towne Landing Historic Site, several plantations (Middleton Place, Magnolia Plantation, Charleston Tea Plantation), and the Caw Caw Interpretive Center.

Enjoyed our one night stay using the Cruise and Park option. The breakfast was excellent. The shuttle was waiting when we exited at the cruise terminal. Motel was a little on the old side, but very clean.

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel and really enjoyed ourselves. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Everything was hot. (Keep those potatoes, Kim!). The place is spotless. The pool is big enough to swim in. The flora lovely. We had a problem with the toilet which was dealt with quickly. It's really easy to get into Charleston center from here and there are lots of free tennis courts nearby. We will be back.

Great place to stay, friendly, helpful employees. Very clean with comfy beds. I usually never sleep well in a new place, but had no problem here. Love the continental breakfast. There was way more than just coffee and bagels.

I loved everything about this place. Everyone that worked there from the front desk to housecleaning was so friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there and be of help! The ladies at the front were never too busy to make a suggestion about where to go to have fun or find something fabulous to eat! The gigantic pool was very nice in the evening to rrelax and recoup from the day. The room had all the features to make staying easy and convenient. I love a cold air conditioner and this one was indeed cold! I want to return for another trip to Charleston and this will definitely be my choice for a place to stay!

Staff was wonderful group of people. tThe hotel and its ammenities were wondeful as well. Our only problem was a toilet that would not flush properly and had to call maintenance twice. extremely comfortable bed nd pillows.

Due to last min travel plans falling through, found this hotel in a pinch. Was extremely concerned given we don't travel much with dogs and we typically use other hotel chains. There was not a single thing I could complain about!!! Lobby was clean and smelled great, staff was amazing and friendly, we were given a quiet room with great view, dog was provided nice welcome treat bag with a variety of items, room had everything needed, was clean, no odor, soft comfy bed, pool was nice, complimentary breakfast had large variety of hot and cold items. Area felt safe and lots of restaurants near by. Would stay again!!!

Very clean! And the amenities are great! Pretty close to the Waterfront park in Charleston, SC! And very affordable! Now this is not a five star hotel or any of that, but the experience, cleanliness, and location, is worth it!!

We always stay at this Best Western when in Charleston. It is close to downtown, close to our daughter on James Island and Folly Beach and pet friendly. It is always clean. The staff are all helpful and friendly and there are lots of options at breakfast as well as USA Today and the Post and Courier newspapers.

We came to Charleston to sightsee and found this location worked well for us. It was a easy commute to downtown. We also did a couple of day trips to other towns and the hwy it's on was perfect for us

We were traveling and just needed a room for overnight. We had our dog with us so couldn't stay where we normally would. I wasn't sure but the reviews looked good so I took a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. Normally, I don't like places where the doors open to outside but with a dog, it is more convenient. The lady at the desk the night of Aug 24th and the lady on the next morning were both very nice. Adequate breakfast The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. I was very satisfied and would stay again

Staff was extremely friendly, room was nice, property was quiet, walking distance from several restaurants. Only 5 minutes from downtown. Breakfast was delicious. Will definitely be stay at this hotel again when I go back to Charleston. Only recommendation, if you like a thin pillow, like myself, definitely bring your own, pillows are way too thick and I had a hard time get comfy at night.

Booked this hotel since we wanted a great pool and this didn't disappoint. Used it all 3 days of our visit at different times. Water was warm since it was so hot and humid, but still refreshing. Toy noodles were very limp, but were replaced by new ones on last day. Pool towels are extremely small and not replenished during the day. Plenty of seating and couldn't hear highway unless extremely noisy vehicles went by. Very relaxing. Had room with pool view and was very nice. Bed extremely comfortable. Good breakfast selection, eggs bland, sausage and bacon very good. Hash browns were so salty. Had Greek yogurt, really enjoyed and very juicy oranges. Also pancakes and waffles. Something for everyone. Was impressed that everything was ready right when breakfast opened. Great location for getting to historic district, restaurants (Swig and Swine great). Would stay here again.

Still carrying on with our tour we decided another Best Western was on the cards as they are always reliable. This venue was no exception. It was welcoming, clean and quiet. Good location, rooms clean, bed is comfy. No issues with our stay. Kim did a outstanding job with breakfast. Lots of choices. It is also a good place for pets. Grassy area for there bath room breaks. Nice area for walks. A lower rate would be nice.

The location is perfect! Close to downtown but not with all the traffic and noise. Our room overlooked the pool. The windows must have sound proof glass because we did not hear any noise. Our room was perfect. I liked the lumbar throw pillows and the framed prints of historic Charleston hanging on the wall. The room was very clean and looks like it had been updated recently. The towels in the bathroom were thick and fluffy! The room had an authentic Kuerig coffee maker. Not a faux one that makes terrible coffee. The breakfast every morning was wonderful too. The main entree changed everyday. Our stay was very enjoyable. Thank you Best Western!

So many flies and other critters in room. Shower water backs up in tub. ugh.. overall not up to standard hotel. Overpriced for what it is. Employees nice, breakfast good too. Further out of town than we wanted and not good area for restaurants and such.

This hotel is awesome...Jessica at the front desk did everything for our group that we needed. We got a cruise package so we could park our car at the hotel while on the cruise, they took us to the ship and picked us up...it was about half the price of parking in the cruise lot...they advertised a continental breakfast, but it was a full delicious breakfast. our room was super nice, the pool was beautiful. so happy and will always stay there when in Charleston...

Everything was great from beginning to end! The employees were helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Everyone from the front desk to the housekeepers, groundskeepers, manager and the breakfast staff exuded southern hospitality! Everything was well kept and clean. The only 'complaint' I would have is that the breakfast eggs are bland and we only had one small trash can in our room. The price was very reasonable and the beaches are only 15-30 minutes drive. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Charleston and the surrounding area.

This hotel was very very nice. The room I stayed in was in a block of rooms over looking the pool, the view seemed tropical and was very relaxing. The staff here is kind, professional and on point. I loved this place and will be returning when I have time to enjoy Charleston ( not on business)

Wish I could give this hotel 10 stars, it is amazing... we stayed there the night before the cruise, parked our car there for about half the price of the parking lot...a really nice shuttle took us over to the ship, dropped us off right by the ship, so easy, when the cruise was over, they picked us up took us back to our car, the only way to go. Not only that, our room was really nice, pool was nice, and it says continental breakfast but we had a real total breakfast...thanks best western

This a a great hotel for the price!! The pool is one of the best pools I've been in for this price! I will definitely be back. Great location! Try out Griffin's Pub for food (which is near by). Room was clean and we slept great! One of the better hotel stays I've had in a long time!

I've stayed here before and decided to rebook. There are buildings surrounding the pool, but there is a building in the back away from the pool that is quiet. Our room was very clean, but smelled kind of damp. Dated looking but perfectly adequate. Great location. Convenient to everything. I would stay again and just make sure I smell my room. It obviously wasn't that bad because I spent three nights there and didn't need to change rooms!

The room was spotlessly clean, AC worked great, plenty of towels, good pillows, comfortable bed, parking right outside our room, good breakfast w/ plenty of seating. Although the hotel appeared to be solidly booked, it was quiet - we never heard a sound from another room inside or outside. And we were right by the pool - amazingly quiet! But the front desk clerk was simply the best! Thank you Jessica! She's a true gem. She provided local information, offered bottled water for our travels and popsicles!, and always remembered my little grandson's name. I would definitely stay here again, and I highly recommend it. The location is 10 minutes from all the downtown tourist stuff, but removed from the traffic!

It was clean fresh. Very well housekeeping. Nothing missed. Like the room was already cool. Bed expertly made. Enough towels. Lots of choices at breakfast. A sofa that was a bed as well was nice idea. A safe that was nice added thing. Big tv. Parking real close to the room.

This was my family's first time in Charleston, SC. From the minute we got there, Danet was geniunely caring and helpful. She went above the typical expectations. We stayed two nights, three days. Each day she had a warm smile and great suggestions on sight seeing. I so appreciate her help in making my trip the best. This site is lucky to have her.

we stayed there one night to board on a cruise and where able to keep our car in the parking lot..safe and secure. they had a shuttle to and from the port of call and was very convenient. the front desk ladies were very knowledgeable about the shuttle and port and local restaurants in the area as well as a map for the historical downtown area.

An absolutely enjoyable hotel to stay at. Well located and a short drive to the historic district in Charleston. Hotel parking was free. At check-in my wife and I were warmly welcomed by Danet. The process was efficient and she was extremely helpful in giving us advice about local attractions and restaurants. Our room was clean and very comfortable with a view of the pool. The pool was fantastic and a welcome relief from the hot temperatures we experienced. Continental breakfast was the best we have ever had. Kim offered up many breakfast options and for this Canadian the bacon was my favourite! We used the laundry which was a convenient bonus. I will have no problem in recommending this hotel to anyone who visits Charleston. Again thank you for your hospitality.

We made a last minute reservation and they able to accommodate us for 3 nights. Breakfast was good. Easy to find and bear the different things we wanted to go and see. The thermostat on AC wasn't working properly but we never alerted them.

Rooms don't change, but personal experiences do. The smiles were abounding and infectious. Every staff person was smiling, cheerful and very helpful. The pool was stunning. I stayed near the back and it was very quiet. Bed was perfectly comfortable.

The service staff was awesome. The room was nice and clean. I loved the hot and cold options at breakfast. The pool (3 to 10 feet deep) was perfect - heated and outdoors. There were plug-in outlets out near the pool for charging the devices while watching the kids.

We have had a very positive experience. We had a sweet housekeeper, Kristen and the breakfast has been delicious every morning. We also enjoyed the pool. It has been quiet despite being in a busy area.

Gorgeously landscaped BW. Nestled not far from Historic Downtown Charleston. Staff very efficient, professional & diligent. Our room had lovely view of pool/courtyard. The bed was comfy,the room airy & with nice amenities (microwave, K cup brewer,etc). Family & pet friendly. You won't be disappointed with this show of Southern Hospitality.

We recently stayed four nights here.(6/10-6/13) Front desk staff were professional and courteous. We had a two bed pool facing room. Rooms were very comfortable. Beds were also comfortable, but the mattresses didn't match. One was a pillow top and the other more firm. Nonetheless, no other anomaly. Housekeeping was pleasant and did a great job. The pool was nice. There were pool noodles, beach balls, and other pool items provided. Another anomaly, but a good one. We enjoyed the clean pool and surroundings. The pool arena has been painted with a clear coat that is extremely slippery. We saw three or more spontaneous falls, the first being my son. The hotel also provides a very nice breakfast. Waffles/pancakes, yogurts, breads, cereals, alternating eggs scrambled or omelets, bacon or sausage, and always biscuits and gravy. Coffee and juices, of course. There's a clean area, with a big screen and plenty of seating. You could even eat outside. Very pleased.

Stayed a year ago and a second time this trip. Nice hotel, nice staff, and convenient to everything. My family and I liked the hotel. 10 foot deep pool. Much better that most every other water pool. Everyone from the front office to the house keeping staff smile and says hello when you pass. The breakfast is good. Next time I visit Charleston this is where I will stay. I really have no complaints. Well, my daughter did mention that she wished that the multi colored pool lights took a little longer to rotate from one color to the next. Maybe a few seconds longer. Other than that, nice hotel.

great stay at bw charleston inn. full breakfast everyday, friendly and helpful staff. the pool was super clean and large and inviting. couldn't ask for more. easy to get to all attractions and restaurants by car.

Upon arriving, the young lady Danet was very polite and helpful as was the young man Dean who also helped out. The day before checkout, the gentleman that was at the front desk is not a people person and was sort of rude. Our cleaning lady Kristine was also very nice. Upon checking out, Brandi was very pleasant.

Nothing but good words here...friendly staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. Nice selection of food at breakfast, and my kids loved the large, well maintained pool. There were even pool toys to use during the visit. Our 2 day stay here was very comfortable!

Wonderful service, friendly kind people. Kim the brkfst server was so joyful. Everything was hot and so clean and lots of fresh food. First morning had trouble with coffee maker told front desk as we went for brkfst it was fixed when we returned, like I said awesome service. Will stay here again. So impressed. Had to come here last minute because we were camping and our tents got flooded out from the storm. Upon arriving the woman at the front desk was so nice and friendly. Room was clean and service was great.

We were able to leave our car at this motel while we went on a cruise. The room was clean and fresh. We enjoyed our overnight stay at the motel It was within walking distance of at least 3 places to eat. They also serve brunch in the morning.

This was a great place to stay in the Charleston area! The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. Housekeeping was generous with fresh towels each day as well as replenishing the coffee and toiletries. The ladies at the front desk, both day and evening, went out of their way to help with questions and were friendly and outgoing. For the dollar value and central location between airport and downtown it was a very good value.

All staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. Especially pleasant and helpful was the Breakfast room lady named Kim. She did an outstanding job, always had a smile, and had a wonderful, positive attitude - that's what matters most.

The best choice in town north ,south, east or west. The staff ,the room and the shower was excellent. Far as location it was perfect near everything possibly. If or whenever I come back to this area this is and away be my choice hotel.

I wish it was advertised that this was a dog-hotel. We checked in and passed 4 dogs being walked. The rooms smell like dog permanently. The comforters are loud and crinkly-sounding. It was a decent stay for just a night, but no longer than that. Go elsewhere if you are allergic or sensitive to animal smells. Not the typical updated Best Western you expect.

Very nice staff, great breakfast with lots of food choices, quiet and lovely pool and landscaping. The only complaint is that the rooms are a tad smaller than most, but still doable! Highly recommend!!!

Very nice place..good breakfast, good people working there. We asked the housekeeper to be aware that our pet was there in the room. The staff was very good. The only thing is price was a little on the higher side bout overall still a good place.

Huge pool on property, but poor supervision at night meant 4 stars instead of 5. Breakfast included was very good with many choices and was open till 10 am. Room was clean with good service daily. Location on route 17 was convenient to entire area. Pet friendly even though we didn't bring a pet.

Our room was comfortable, quiet and clean with a view of the pool from our window. It was large with a bonus of 2 sinks-one inside the bathroom and one in the dressing area by the closet. Breakfast is continental with both hot and cold options as well as meat (sausage/bacon), a prepared egg option (scrambled, cheese omlet), and biscuits and gravy. We enjoyed eating our breakfasts out on the patio. The Sweetgrass beverage is available in the afternoons in the lobby and something you must try-I liked it. This property is a few miles outside the historic district (not within walking distance), but we Ubered in and back each day which was very easy and reasonably priced.

Overall, it was good. We enjoyed the variety of breakfast options & the front desk lady was knowledgable as well. However, we had minor issues and the breakfast attendant seemed to not be so friendly. We stayed in room #200 and the rim of the table is chipping off. The top of the duvet had some red stains on it. They were minor issues and did not take away from the nice experience this hotel gave us.

We ended our travel day at the Best Western Charleston Inn. It was easy to find with a good location. Our check in was welcoming and easy. The room was well-appointed and immaculate. The breakfast was exactly what we needed to travel that day. This is the second time we have stayed at a Best Western and were very pleased both times.

First time we stayed at a Best Western Hotel.Only 1 con.Noisy air conditioner. However it did cool the room.We stayed 9 nights and the bed was comfortable. The location is a short drive to downtown Charleston and restaurants,Walmart,movies,CVS,Best Buy,etc.We asked for a quiet room because the hotel is located on a main road with a lot of traffic and it was in the back which was fine. Kristen our house keeper kept everything clean and took care of anything we needed.

What a step up for a dog friendly hotel!!! The gardens with flourishing flowers, the lobby welcoming you with sweet tea and muffins in the morning, and the large breakfast dining area, all add a nice touch for you and your pet. Our room with a king sized bed and lots of pillows was a good fit. The open entry into the room helped to move luggage and a leashed dog into it. There were plenty of grassy areas to walk our dog safely without fear of being run over by the cars in the back lots. I recommend this hotel to safely leave your dog for the day or evening while being in Charleston. Your dog will bark " welcome back" upon your return.

The hotel people were friendly and helpful. The room was large and overlooked the pool, clean and perfect for us. The breakfast had choices. Good restaurants within a mile, and were recommended by the front desk folks. Location was near all the places we wanted to visit.

I was pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms and the comfy beds/pillows. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I did not take advantage of breakfast but did pick up good tourist information via the pamphlets available and the staff.

Stayed for three nights. Extremely clean and comfortable. The only issues were the toilet paper holder which pulled partially out of the wall and the continental breakfast. Neither was a deal breaker. The TP holder had obviously pulled out before and had not been properly reattched. Continental breakfast was the customary offering. Sausage patties were tasteless TVP type substitutes. "Cheese omelet" was typical fake eggs with maybe cheese inside. Not disgusting but not palatable. I would return but only because it was clean and comfortable. Front desk personnel were outstanding at check-in and check-out.

Rooms and staff are great. Cruise package with shuttle service to and from the port for our cruise and breakfast is a bonus. Used them 2 years in a row, and will do so as long as we cruise from Port of Charleston. Highly recommend.

It was my first time visiting Charleston. This hotel is located in a great spot. 5 1/2 miles from City Center. Plenty of restaurants and Bars within a mile or so that you could walk to if you like. Nice breakfast buffet...staff was very helpful when asked. Sate in your room. Felt very safe in the are...never more then a 10-15 minute drive to anything

We were surprised how quiet the rooms were. Breakfast had tons of options- no excuse to not find something to like. Beds comfy, flowers pretty, and rooms clean. Only issue was smoking by cleaning staff. They hung around the open areas and walking thru the hotel, was awful to smell.

This place was great. Very clean rooms, which is very important to my husband and I. The beds were so comfortable that it was hard to get out of it, pillows were great also. I would love to buy their pillows. The people that work there were very polite and helpful. If we are ever in the area again I would definitely stay there again. Thank you

We were coming in to look at colleges so didn't need the benefit of being right down town. We actually found the ease of getting in and out to see other places, the airport, and downtown a plus to this hotel. It's Very pretty, the staff is super friendly and the breakfast great. I would definitely stay again.

My husband and I stayed the weekend and enjoyed our stay. We found the room clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good with plenty of variety. The air condition didn't seem to be working very well on the second night so my husband notified the front desk. They promptly took care of it and had it in perfect working order before we returned to the hotel. We were impressed by the management of the hotel and we would definitely stay again.

Would normally stay Downtown when in town but prices were crazy so booked in here . This is a real old school hotel , nice pool area , absolutely charming staff especially the ladies on the front desk ,My room was clean and its a quick Uber hop into downtown area . Easy drive into downtown Charleston, tons of good restaurants right nearby, clean spacious room, hearty breakfast and lovely pool area. The front desk staff were so helpful. This will be our go to Charleston hotel when next in the area!

My stay was fine, except for the Palmetto bug that climbed into bed with me. It's alright, he was lookin for a home. Besides that all went well, he eventually left. I have stayed with you before and will stay with you again. You guys are pretty reliable. My room was clean and comfortable. Thanks,and see u soon.

Good rooms, great breakfast, great location to visit Charleston SC. Affordable option. Short drive in to Charleston, where you can find a lot of parking options. Pool looked nice, too. Enjoyable stay.

I took two teenage boys on a cruise out of Charleston. I chose this hotel based on the fact they had shuttle service to take us to the port. Excellent choice!! Our hotel room was very clean, continental breakfast was good, and I felt very good about leaving my vehicle in the overflow parking lot at the hotel.

Great hotel for the Snooze and Cruise package that includes a night's stay, breakfast, transportation to and from port, and parking for the length of your cruise! The breakfast was delicious, especially the build your own breakfast sandwich (they even had avocado!) and an automatic pancake maker among many other choices. Friendly staff, clean rooms, safe feeling area! Wonderful experience overall! I would definitely stay here again before a cruise!

Some of the nicest people we have ever met. More than willing to accommodate in any way they could. We always want to eat at the local, off the beaten path food joints. The staff was very good at recommending where to get the best local foods and sights to see. Very clean and quiet rooms. The bed had the best mattress topper that gave us the best sleep we have had anywhere.

Stayed 5 nights to visit Charleston. Room was squeaky clean, staff very helpful, pool looked great but didn't use it. I liked the 1960s retro design, with exterior room entrances and your car right there. Rooms are very recently updated with modern, warm decor, and great vintage photos of Charleston. Building is 2 stories and my only wish would have been an elevator. About 10-12 minutes by car to downtown. Very, very quiet nights of sleep. Would stay again.

Great Front Desk staff at check-in and when I returned from work each evening. The room was very clean and comfortable and parking was not a pain even at this time of year. The breakfasts were quick and had a good amount of variety.

Great location - close proximity to Charleston. Comfortable bed, nice linens, quiet room. Clean hotel. Quick check in/check out. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff. We did not use the pool however it was large and looked very inviting. Good value.

Booked here based on Trip Advisor comments. They were fantastic. Quieter end of town but easy access to everything. Really great options for food in the area. The front desk had safe deposit boxes that would hold my laptop. They were very accommodating. I would probably request a pool view room next time. They were doing a lot of work in the outer building and you had to navigate construction material. Staff was great; temperature of the showers were SUPER hot. Excellent! The rooms were incredibly quiet. Although the motel was nearly full, you heard NOTHING at night. Bed was one of the most comfortable anywhere (including my own!). The sweetgrass tea at the front desk was delicious! I asked, and received, the recipe for it and will make it as soon as we get home. When we come back to town, we'll stay here again.

Convenient to downtown Charleston and only a short distance away on the Savannah Highway, this well-managed property gives excellent value to the budget-minded traveler. Plus there are many good restaurant choices nearby as well.

We drove from Tampa to Charleston and needed an overnight stay with our golden retriever. Lovely hotel for very reasonable prices. Decent breakfast that was complementary. Relatively close to downtown Charleston as well and got to go in to eat at the Peninsula Grill. Would recommend this place for dog lovers.

Very polite staff, (front desk, housekeeping, and the maintenance guy) excellent breakfast, clean rooms, HD TV, our room was recently updated, 2 sinks(1 in the bathroom and 1 outside). This made for getting ready in the morning a lot easier!

This is an older facility with motel style rooms with exterior entrances. This may discourage some from staying at this location which would be a shame. The location is an easy commute to downtown historic Charleston. Many restaurants and stores are nearby the Inn. Rooms are updated and spotless. Pool area is lush and beautiful. The complimentary breakfast area opens onto the pool area with lovely bistro tables and chairs to enjoy your meal outside. The breakfast offered is above average in variety and the breakfast area is updated, bright and inviting. Staff from check in to housekeeping were very friendly.

Office and breakfast staff were wonderful, but housekeeping has its issues - not only with cleanliness of room but in invading our luggage. Breakfast items were of a variety that changed daily and that was a pleasant surprise.

I always enjoy my stay at Best Western. I travel with my dog, the property is always kept cleaned and is very close to everything I need. The hotel is always friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to stay..

Throughout our stay we received turn down service and clean towels, until our add on night. No maid service on the last night, at all. Also, they did not vacuum our room, did not clean the toilet(other than the bowl), and the corners of each room and the vanity were disgusting! Not once did they vacuum the pretzel crumbs from our first night! We stayed for five nights total.

We had a good experience with our stay. Our room was very clean and spacious; the bed was so comfortable that we had no trouble getting to sleep. There were 4 pillows on both beds. Our bathroom was clean with plenty of towels and washcloths. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast items were very good and fresh with a variety of items hot and cold, good coffee.We will stay here if we go back to Charleston.

We stayed here for three nights while visiting Charleston for the first time. We were very glad we did, as it was a convenient drive into downtown to see all the sights, and we were not lacking for anything here. Our bed was comfy, room very clean, and their breakfast was amazing. We felt very safe staying here and we're happy with our choice. No need to pay 350 and up to stay downtown, save the money for some tours or some excellent meals while in town

Stayed here for a few days while visiting Charleston. It's conveniently located on 17; therefore you don't have to try and get out of the historic area while visiting other areas. Parking is easy in the historic area so when you are going in you just park in one of the garages. You have the best of both worlds! Staff was very helpful and always available to assist. Nice breakfast and laundry area. Would definitely stay here again.

We were very happy with our stay at this property. It's conveniently located a few minutes away from the historic district, with several restaurants nearby. The friendly reception and refreshments at the front desk were much appreciated. We stayed in the back building, which is basically a 2 story motel style where you can park in front of your room. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet, so we slept well. Breakfast was the standard Best Western hot and cold buffet (though some BW do better - e.g. in Wilkes-Barre PA and Gettysburg PA). It would be nice if this property (and all BW properties) implemented recycling programs for bottles, cans, paper, etc. - at least with a few central receptacles if not in every room.

I am in Charleston about 2-4 times a year and every time I am in the area I stay at this Best Western. I have never had any issues before until this last time. The pet policy has become very strict, I might as well not bring my pet with me ever again. I had to sign a full page pet policy contact this past time where I have never had to do that in the past. Animals just seem to be unwelcomed any more. Don't ever call to book the hotel, they will take advantage of that. My last visit was $172 where I could have only spent $120 something if I would have booked online. Lastly, I usually only stay one night and I have never been bothered before but this time I had 3 people come to my door, all between 9AM and 11AM, to ask if I was checking out that day. It was very annoying. I won't be back. Thank you

We stay here whenever we come to Charleston. Always A+. The staff are jovial and very helpful. Free breakfast is always good. Lovely area outside the breakfast room to have your meal outdoors. No complaints here!

The woman at the front desk was extremely knowledgeable helping us make the most of our brief visit to Charleston. The location was great.... a short car ride into the city was worth having some green space walk our dog

We were recognized as elite Best Western members and given an upgrade on arrival. The front desk, housekeeping, maintenance and breakfast room staff all were friendly and very responsive to our questions/needs. The room was spacious and clean. We requested a quiet portion of the hotel and during our five night stay it was quiet.

The knig size bed was very comfortable...great sleep. Very friendly and caring staff. Front desk, Danet, was most accommodating. VEry good location to downtown. appearance of hotel was very good. We will definitely stay here again.

We booked two nights. 3/4 & 3/5. Great choice on our part. The staff was the friendliest we have ever encountered. Our bedroom was large with a very comfortable bed & spotless linens. The bath has a tub/shower. We are handicapped & the unit was on the first floor facing the pool. The breakfast was excellent. You name it & they had it. Waffles, pancakes, bacon, biscuits & gravy, several cereals, fresh fruit & fruit juice, pastries etc etc etc. We were close to everything by car. We feel the following staff members deserve a huge shout out. They went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Danet (front desk)....she is such an asset to Best Western. Her friendliness & huge smile was greatly appreciated after a long day in the car. She had an annoying caller that kept calling over & over & she kept her cool & acted in a professional manner. Deon (maintenance manager) we had an issue & he helped us out like we were family. Cameron (housekeeping) came to check things out with Deon adding to the family feel. The General Manager, William Richards wasted no time helping to keep the breakfast goodies well stocked. We felt welcomed from the first time we walked into the lobby. The pool looked inviting but the weather wasn't cooperating. We definitely will return next year or hopefully sooner.

This motel is conveniently located near grocery stores, restaurants, etc., but traffic during certain times of the day can be challenging. If you're sensitive to noise, you'll want to ask for a room away from Savannah Highway (US 17). The bed was awesome!

Very nice Best Western...breakfast was typical, rooms was large, we got the poolside which was recommended by other reviewers. Need to drive for a decent restaurant at least 2 miles away. Quiet, clean, friendly front desk

We liked this hotel very much. The staff went above and beyond what we usually see in a chain hotel. The breakfast was quite good, I sat there eating and was amazed at how quick and effective the older lady was that was restocking the breakfast bar. The last time we were in Charleston, we paid as much for one night in a downtown hotel as we paid for this place which was only a short drive to down town. The staff told us places to go and gave us maps and directions. The room was very comfortable. The hotel shows some slight wear, however it is very well maintained and you can see they are fixing it up. Unfortunately for us, my husband and our traveling companion, became quite sick on our last day there. We went back to the hotel and they went straight to bed. Went it became apparent they were going to sleep all day, I went down to the lobby and read on my pad. I was able to lay on the bed or sit in the comfortable chairs, while using my IPAD, as the room was quite comfortable and did not have a funky smell that some have. We plan to return to complete our trip sometime in the next year and will be picking this same hotel. When we left the girls gave me a thermos of coffee and some awesome muffins as I was going to been the lone driver back home. That was the icing on the cake for me. Caring employees.

Good location, lots of restaurants nearby, close to everywhere we wanted to go. Room was clean, but had a kind of musty smell. I would have liked thicker blankets on the bed, but the rest of my family didn't think so. We were very happy with the breakfast and the staff was great. We'd go back.

The place was clean. I enjoyed my stay. I would come here again. O think it is at a great location. Easy to find. I really like clean rooms. That is most important to me. I think this place is worth checking out

We were traveling from Connecticut to South Carolina. Our first stop was in Virginia we decided to stop for the night. We stayed in Acia-Quantaco it was very nice we were very happy. Next we drove to Myrtle Beach and stayed at Sheraton Broad Plantation for a week Sunday to Sunday. Very nice extremely pleased. We then travel to Charleston I went on line and found a Bestwestern . I. Think it was thru trivago? When we arrived the room was more than we were quoted but I had nothing in writing. The room was not as nice as in Virginia. The bathroom setup was cramped. The beds were very comfortable. It was clean . I could not remember the exact quote on my phone so we didn't argue about the rates. When I talked to Bestwestern on the phone about my points My number was not recognized and they could find no proof of my stay in Virginia.

All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. No matter where you go on the property, a staff member says, "hello" and asks if you need anything (we even received a phone call from the office on the 2nd evening asking if we needed anything). The room was very clean, pleasantly painted with beautiful photographs of Charleston. The prices were very reasonable. And, the breakfast area was large, clean, with a lot of food choices. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

We booked online the night before leaving for Charleston, and picked this hotel based on location (center of everything we wanted to do/see) as well as being pet-friendly. The hotel outside is a tad outdated, but well kept. The interior had been recently re-done. The lobby staff was very welcoming, as was our housekeeper. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. Not sure what else you could ask for.

The prices for the "cruise package" are quite misleading and very expensive in comparison to other area facilities offering similar services! Unfortunately, we did not find this out until after our cruise when speaking with fellow travelers. In the future, we will look elsewhere for more competitively priced accommodations that include cruise packages. Although our room and the surrounding area outside was clean enough and beautifully landscaped, it is an older facility, and the wear and tear is obvious in many places. We didn't visit the pool area, so we can't speak much on the condition or cleanliness of that area. From what we were able to see from our window, however, it appeared to be well-kept. It's conveniently located near many restaurants, gas stations, and shops.

This is not the place you want to stay if you are taking a cruise. We booked a room for a night, which the website quoted as 79.00, an excellent value. I called to ask for the cruise deal, which included transportation to and from the cruise ship and a lot to keep your car at on the property. A confirmation was sent for $129.00 plus tax. Again, I was very happy with the excellent value. This is an old hotel with outside doors that has been updated, but it is in a bad area of town. When I got there to check in, I was given several forms to sign stating the price of the room as $129.00 for one night. The cruise "package" was then added onto that and the total was 204.00. This was not our expectation, and they said they weren't sure why we didn't get the correct confirmation. That being said, we took the transportation and headed to our cruise ship the next morning. On the shuttle we spoke to other couples from the Best Western who had the same experience. For the price we ended up paying, I would have chosen another venue at the same price in a better location. You have to sign a liability waiver for the parking area. It was a small lot in the middle of another hotel next door. It appears not to be monitored at all. I would not recommend staying here, and certainly not parking your car here for a week. I felt that my prayers were answered by not having had damage to my car. Be forewarned of the deceptive pricing and policies of this location.

Although I am from the area, when I seriously need to take a break from home, I come here. Trust, the quietness from the highway, is a major plus. Not walking far from your door, and knowing that you don't hear any noise is something I or anyone needs. I will always go back for a mini vaca!!

This property in conveniently located on Savannah Highway which runs through Charleston. The property is very attractive and clean. Our room was located on the back part of the property which meant we did not have to deal with noise from the street. We were able to park right in front of our room which was another plus. If you like breakfast I would recommend taking time for their breakfast. It's more than donuts and coffee. They serve a full, hot breakfast that's not bad. We were very satisfied.

While our stay at this Hotel there was a couples auto that got vandalized. Someone heard glass breaking at 6 am. The couple was on a cruise, when asked they said nobody seen a thing. Its a shame when on a trip of a lifetime they have to return to this.

Close to everything that I needed- proximity to the highway was not noticeable- Quiet! Staff at check in/out were very sociable! Gave a few nice tips for the area- Where to eat within walking distance etc

Really impressed with this hotel. They've got the basics nailed, but it was the little things that caught my attention. Two spots to connect or charge USB cords, extra towels, placement of table chairs and tv, calls from front desk just to see if there is anything they can do to improve my stay. It was great.

Was second stay in a 7 day span and was wonderful except bed wasn't as comfortable as before and other guests walking around all night. But overall love this place.Staff really nice and friendly. Breakfast was great..

We were traveling with our dogs and decided to stay here. Very nice budget hotel. Very clean and felt safe. So nice to be able to pull right up to the door. They have several areas set up to take your dogs with cleanup stations provided. They appear to clean up after rude pet owners who do not, because the areas were all nice and clean.

To me any hotel with the parking spots at the room door is a motel, and it does look like it - and you do need a car to get anywhere. However the quality is very high. The room has space, the upkeep is excellent, the bed is very comfortable, WiFi is not bad, the service is friendly and helpful. Didn't try so cannot say anything about the pool and the breakfast, but overall, if you don't expect a 5-star hotel, I have nothing negative to say. .

We were traveling with our dog and looking for a pet friendly motel. This Best Western was awesome. Our room was clean and conveniently located close to the dog walking area. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The bed at this hotel was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The towels seemed brand new, too. The room looked like it had been recently updated. The only thing preventing me from giving it five stars is the noise issue. We were woken up before dawn by car alarms and back-up horns. Other than that, everything was great.

I drove 7 hours with 2 little kids and a dog to this hotel, which I really only booked because it was cheaper and would take our pup, so I wasnt expecting much. I got there a little after noon, way too early to check in (which was at 3pm) but I thought I'd ask if they had a room available, as I was desperate. They didn't. And I prepared myself to load everyone back into the car for 2+ more hours of pure agony. But then, DANET (an absolute angel), worked her magic and with the help of the manager on duty, got us an even nicer room right away!! I'm not even kidding I teared up right there. The lobby and room were absolutely beautiful and the breakfast had pretty much anything you could think of. 10/10 hands down BEST customer service ever!

From the start, this motel was fabulous. Friendly staff and so welcoming. You have sold me on Best Western's service. This motel had reasonable prices, beautiful rooms and a great location. We had our cat with us and he loved the room as well! We had a problem with a motel 6 in Asheville, North Carolina. Our cat went through a hole in the wall of our room. I'm guessing he liked that motel better as he could go hunting for vermin. BUT WE DIDN'T. Breakfast is good. Good price. Rooms are spacious, and clean. Location is only minutes from Downtown and plenty of history behind this old town. The atmosphere puts you back in the day. It is close to the Outlet stores and restaurants

Has better breakfast than most. The staff is friendly, and rooms are big and clean. We were four adults. We got 2 Queen size beds and and roll away bed. Nice!. There is enough free parking. The pool was closed by 10:00pm though.

Danette was such a great help. She was so pleasant and wanted to make sure we had a wonderful stay which we did for four nights. The beds were comfortable and clean. The breakfast selections were great. The lady in the breakfast area we met on Christmas Day and the day after was excellent, and she was filling in for someone else. She made sure that the food was well stocked and ready for guest. She was friendly and engaging. I wish that I hade gotten her name, but she told me that she usually does the housekeeping. She was so sweet and always had a smile on her face.

It's not the Four Seasons, but you know that when you book. It IS a very clean, comfortable, friendly and conveniently located place to stay when visiting Charleston. The room was quite comfortable and very clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good quality and well stocked, and the attendant each day was very personable and welcoming. Its just a short drive across the bridge to the historic district, so unless you want the ability to walk to your destinations, its very conveniently located. Quite a bit less expensive than hotels in the historic district, so we thought it was a great value. We stayed for 4 nights, and were very pleased with the experience. We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.

Upon arrival, we had a wonderful welcome from the very hospitable Nicky. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was hot and well stocked with fast favorites. We Will visit again. Thank you best western.

Went there for a night in December, and I unfortunately forgot my wallet in the room. Came in a couple days later, unanouced, and they could help me retrieve it, and always with a smile! Great hotel for price! This is the first trip we have taken our dog on and this was an amazing dog friendly and clean hotel! We watched the staff clean one of the rooms that had been checked out of and we were extremely impressed by the quality of care!

We have visited Charleston for the past 4 years from NY for a week at Christmas. We normally stay at the Sleep Inn but its just gotten way too noisy. We chose the BW nextdoor which is a sister property. Room was very clean. Beds comfortable and linens crisp and fresh. Bathroom spotless with towels fresh and thick. Super quiet. Hvac worked perfect. Furnishings attractive. Lighting, tv and internet was very good. Breakfast was hot, plentiful, well stocked with a huge variety. Special mention to our check in representative Danet. She was professional and so friendly. You could tell it was genuine. We look forward to staying with you again Christmas 2019.

The Hotel location was near everything we wanted and needed. The Staff was helpful and very friendly. Our room was clean and comfy. The mattress was great! Breakfast is always good and offered at good times.

We try to take a holiday trip every year...This year it was Charleston. We are Diamond Members of BW Rewards... I was very impressed from the get go!! Danet & Jade were very hospitable and friendly! Danet was amazing the entire time we were here anytime we needed something! Ms. Margaret in the breakfast room was so Sweet and caring! The hotel is older but well taken care of! The room was clean & roomy! We would stay here again when in the area!

Great location to all the places we wanted to visit. Rooms clean and Quite. Danet at the front desk met all my wife and I needs. We are thinking about making this Inn our Home away from Home for we do visit Charleston a lot. Now I feel we have a place to stay. They price was great. Be mindful that the last shuttle to the port leaves at noon! Do not believe the hotel staff re: the different shuttle schedules - we almost missed our shuttle because of the lack of knowledge of the front desk clerk

First of all the ladies at the front desk were so nice and accommodating. Rooms were clean and quite. The location was great. Not far from airport or downtown. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks to the all those that work there.

ThIs hotel is very centrally located for visiting Charleston. Only 5 miles from the historic district. The breakfast room offers lots of options and was very clean and well stocked. Front desk and housekeep staff were all very nice. Although the hotel is located off a busy road the rooms were very quiet.

Room was clean and the staff were excellent. Maid were very good at not waking my wife too early in morning. Everyone spoke to us and treated us like family. Check in was easy and painless. Would stay there again

My second time staying overnight at this hotel - both times for the Kiawah Island marathon. Both times very clean and well maintained. One might think for a downtown-ish chain hotel on the edges of Charleston it would be a dive, but this hotel is a real gem. Looks like it has been fully renovated within the last few years. Very clean and quiet. Some nice restaurants and shopping nearby. Staff went out of their way to make check-in a breeze. Highly recommended!

The staff were fantastic! We checked in after midnight due to a late flight and they were very helpful and efficient in checking us in. The room was large, clean, good amenities, great internet, fantastic bed, and great view of the pool. The breakfast was OK, some warm foods but the egg dishes (scrambled, omelette) seemed to be powdered and not fresh. There were other options along with fruit, breads, cereals, and waffles/pancakes. If you are doing anything in Charleston (Downtown, West Ashley, James or Johns Islands, Folly Beach), this location is perfectly situated. Note: If you get a room on the 2nd floor, there is no elevator.

Room was easy to find and breakfast had a good variety to choose from. The room was clean and comfortable. We were provided a map to our room and the restaurants recommended were easy to find and good choices.

We are continually surprised by the extra touches in this hotel, which was a bargain considering all the high-end features. Keurig coffee makers in the rooms, full breakfast bar with generous hours, and free passes to Planet Fitness. The rooms are clean and comfortable, staff is very friendly and accommodating. It's the holidays and they even had hot chocolate in the lobby, with whipped cream and candy canes. It's been a real oasis on our extended road trip, after all the surly cookie-cutter chains we've stayed in.

We were very happy with the rooms we booked. Staff was pleasant, hotel and room were very clean. If you are ultra picky don't stay here. But if you want an affordable, pleasant hotel with a full free breakfast this is a great hotel.

Best 2 star hotel I've stayed in. Very clean. Check-in staff was beyond friendly and helpful. Keurig in the room was awesome. Internet worked great. Great location not too far from historic downtown charleston.

We decided to spend our budget on eating at fine restaurants instead of staying at a fancy place. We chose to stay here knowing it was out of the historic center. Glad we did. Kim, thé breakfast guru, is charming and manages to find a way to accommodate guests. Even found a guest lactose free stuff. Carol is a most efficient and kind cleaning expert. Free parking. Great dog walking. We used Uber to get into dinner and that worked out great. No reason to fight traffic and look for downtown parking. It wasn't hot enough to swim but the pool is clean and well landscaped. We will stay here again.

Great hotel 10 minutes from downtown. Staff was friendly and housekeeping was efficient and the hotel was very clean. Wi-fi and breakfast were good and overall experience was great. Would definitely recommend.

The room was very comfortable, the pillows were good, and there was lots of lightning in the room. The bath towels dried well, although they were a bit small. There is a great breakfast, with lots of choice, both hot and cold items, including omelette, sausage patties, pancakes and waffles (as well as blueberry waffles!), and hot chocolate. However, we found the location way too far - over 5 miles from the city centre. We were supposed to stay 3 nights, but after 1 night, we changed to accommodations right in the Historic District.

The front desk staff was very helpful. We arrived much later than planned. I called o make sure there would be no problems and was assured the desk was open 24 hours. They were ready for us when we arrived at 11 pm. The room was clean when we opened the door and was kept clean by the staff. We stayed 3 nights to attend Y'all Fest in downtown Charleston. The location was perfect with a short commute time but all the ammenities we wanted at a great price. The breakfast was excellent. There was a good selection of foods available including waffles, pancakes, eggs, biscuits and pastries. The staff kept the dishes full and the food hot. We will definitely remember this hotel for next year.

We could not have picked a better hotel for our girls weekend! The lobby is modern and welcoming. The check-in personnel are very helpful and friendly. De-Queda specifically provided exceptional service. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. We did not get much outside noise despite being near the street and slept pretty well. The breakfast was AMAZING. We had to park somewhat far from our room when we arrived late Saturday night but were able to park directly in front of it at other times. We will stay here again.

This was a last minute weekend getaway for my wife and I. We've never stayed at a BW, but due to the reasonable rate, location, and reviews I decided to give it a try. From the time we checked in until we left, we were very impressed! Da-Quana, at the front desk, was amazing! Not only did she do her job and get us checked-in quickly, but she took the time to offer suggestions of places to eat as well as print off directions for us. Walking into the room, it was spotless! My wife, over the next couple of days talked to a lady by the name of Kristen, who was responsible for the room being in this condition. Very few places that my wife and I have stayed have impressed us the way that this BW did. From check-in to check-out, this place is SUPERB! As far as location, you are approximately 15 minutes from downtown Charleston. The drive into Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, Sullivans Island, and Isle of Palms is not bad at all. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT place to stay! We will be back!

Hotel is well positioned for sightseeing but next to the busy Savannah hwy which makes merging really challenging. Few restaurants in the area and not far from shopping centre. The property has two buildings, one around the pool and another one in the back. The pool rooms have large glass windows facing greenery, The other building is extremely dark inside with small windows and facing parking. Might be quieter but the darkness of the room was almost oppressive. It seems that many ground floor rooms were being refurbished. Construction workers were visible, water shut off (we were warned) still did not add to the quality of stay. There was some confusion at the check in. This BW has no elevator so make sure you can climb the stairs. The room itself (other than being dark) had the usual comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. It was clean and bathroom was well equipped. We stayed for 3 nights, did not get service the first day. Our apple devices refused to connect to hotel unsecured wi-fi. On a positive side there was a good hot breakfast, changing daily. Newspapers in the breakfast room. Pleasant reception and breakfast room, business center was guests available. Coffee in the morning and cold drinks in the afternoon. With many options in the area (Sleep Inn next door) management might try to attract guests with some added extras.
